It's fabled that deep in the heart of the world, there is a small and mysterious land.
It isn't marked on any map, yet tales of this strange and special place can be heard
from time to time.
It lies in the middle of the ocean and can only be found by a lucky few who stumble upon it when
the tide is right.
It's called The Land of Found Books.
The books that are created here are unique.
They don't have an author's name to stamp on the front cover, or a publishing company
that they belong to.
If you were to ask someone where they got one of these books, they might say, I don't
know, I just found it.
These are the books that appear without a word on the shelves of small, quiet bookstores, charity shops,
or even your own house. No one can remember where they came from, but they enjoy them just the same.
Very few have ever heard of this land, and even few have still seen it first hand, but
tonight you will get the chance.
The smell of the briny sea wafts around you.
You inhale deeply as the wind moves through the strands of your hair and ruffles your shirt.
Salt spray kisses your face and you use your sleeve to wipe it off your forehead.
Above you, the sun shines brightly. You peer over the edge of your boat to see the almost white reflection in the deep blue
water.
You hadn't meant to travel this far out, after all you only wanted to go on a little adventure.
You remember yesterday when the idea to go for a boat ride had first formed in your mind.
It had blossomed quickly and before you knew it, you had a plan.
As you walked through the city surrounded by people with a background
harm of cars driving by, you felt a pull deep inside. It was the ocean calling to you.
You could hear the waves singing your name and feel the longing in your chest.
And so, the next day, you drove to the harbor, climbed aboard your boat and went out into
the waves. Now you can taste the salt of the ocean on your lips and feel the moisture in your hair.
You smile to yourself in utter contentment.
A bird soars high above you, its wings casting shadows across your face.
For a moment, it seems as though the two of you are the only ones in the whole world.
As the waves rock the boat and lap against the sides of the hull.
You feel more free than you have in a long time.
Glancing at your watery surroundings, a special feeling swells within you.
In your mind, the sensation is as blue as the waves and as yellow as the bright sun above.
You spread your arms out and close your eyes, breathing in the fresh air.
As it fills your lungs, you feel as though you've absorbed the magic of the ocean into
your very being.
The beauty of this place is bright and pure and brilliant. When you open your eyes you can
dance up at the clouds and the moving sun and you remember that you've been on
your little boat for quite some time already. Evening is on its way, you should head
back soon. The thought of your cozy bedroom and the promising smell of
freshly brewed tea makes you smile. Exploring the unknown fills you with wonderment and
exhilaration, but the joy of returning home to the little things that you know so well summons other
emotions of peace, quiet and familiarity.
