Starting point is 00:00:00 Brad so I have a follow-up from a story last week to share with you real quick okay you might remember I told the story of when uh we named our third dog Lucky and the various adventures we got into with Lucky the the underground electric fence the uh chaining him to a trampoline and losing the trampoline is this ringing any bells yes yes yes okay 100% didn't know so far so good so I call my dad this past week and we're just catching up. We talk to each other about once a week on the phone anyway. And he's like, how's the podcast going? I'm like, it's good. We actually, I was like, I was telling a story about, you know, lucky and everything. I probably got some details wrong. Uh, but I was telling about this, this,
Starting point is 00:00:36 and this. And he goes, well, did you mention how we poured water on him to try and get the electric fence to work i was like no that happened he's like yeah we didn't know if the we know if the electric fence was strong enough so we had when we had the collar on lucky grandpa said why don't you just pour water on him and so i guess i don't remember this at all but i just imagine just like i mean just whole families out there yeah trish get the bucket yeah waving, waving at the neighbor. Hey, neighbor. Like one hand's waving, the other hand's just watering our dog on the electric fence.
Starting point is 00:01:08 And the dog's just like convulsing. Haru! Uh-oh. Ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white meat too. Midwest best friends
Starting point is 00:01:20 eating fast food on repeat. So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead, get on your feet. Because it's the Ghost Brothers Podcast. Every morning morning, we're taking back the Ghost Brothers Podcast. Ghost Brothers Podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Episode 100. 100, baby. Yeah, century mark. Ever since we started this podcast, I said I want to do at least 100 episodes of this podcast. That's the first thing I said when we were making goals. I want to do 100 episodes. And we made it. What's our goal now? 101 episodes.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Yeah, I think next... Every week's a new challenge, baby. Take it one week at a time. Oh, Isaac's here. Hey, Big Ike. How'd it go? Did they have it? I don't know why I decided to get food. I don't know why either. I was thinking about that. I'm like, are you about to record it go? Did they have it? I don't know why I decided to get food. I don't know why either. I was thinking about that. I'm like, are you about to record a podcast?
Starting point is 00:02:08 What, did they have it? No. Yes. Tell them what you got. Big healthy boy. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, but they have spicy grilled chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A. Mmm. Why am I?
Starting point is 00:02:19 We got sauce. Yeah, we got. Did you, how'd you do it? Did you go like this? You show them the hands? I need a handful. I just said handful. Yes. Big handful. You got to show them your hand, though. Like what you. Yeah, we got... How'd you do it? Did you go like this? You show them the hands? I need a handful. I just said handful. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Big handful. You gotta show them your hand, though. Like, what you... Yeah. Like, and it's gotta be an open hand. Like, I can't even close my fist. Like, shake it back and forth a little bit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Yeah, she did pretty good, though. Thank you, dude. Get him on his... Nice. Domi has been asking about you, Brad. Does Domi ask you about Brad, Isaac? No. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:02:45 Yeah. How is your friend? How is your friend? Well, she says, how is your friend? She asking about you Brad. Does Domi ask you about Brad, Isaac? No. Oh really? Does she know my name? How is your friend? Well she says how is your friend. She doesn't say Brad. Yeah, no she doesn't know his name. How is your friend who makes the table? How is your friend? Oh okay. He's good. The big boy?
Starting point is 00:02:56 The big boy. His wife drink alcohol when pregnant. How is your friend? His wife neglect daughter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For the new listeners, you should tell no no there's no context just just believe what you want no i think you should tell that's funny uh yeah domi well to everyone that doesn't know we used to get free chick-fil-a all the time we did there's long story short with that uh mr james one of our friends mr james hooked us hey mr james and so uh he was awesome he hooked us up and also so we went there all the time so we got to know a lot of the people there specifically domi this
Starting point is 00:03:32 woman who worked the cafe area the the you know the out out you know bus to tables and whatnot and so anyway um she loved us she talked to us We were friends with her. And one day I was there with Catherine and Hattie and Catherine had kombucha, which has like 0.1% alcohol, I think, or point maybe it's 0.3. I don't know. Something's fermented. So I guess there technically is alcohol in it. Yeah. It's like the same amount as like a non-alcoholic beer or something like that. It's like saying you have caffeine and decaf coffee. It's like, yeah, technically there's some caffeine in there, but come on. Uh, but she was like, you should not drink that. You should not drink that when you're pregnant. It was she was pregnant with beau our son and so it's like you should not and katherine's like no no i know like no no i knew some people that drink that
Starting point is 00:04:12 they did not they did not they they said they feel woozy afterwards i was like okay tell me whatever so i didn't know what to do but we just we just walked but then like as we were walking out like she kind of took me to the side as Catherine was kind of out of earshot. She's like, you really need to talk to her about that. I think it's okay. Bo is a little bit delayed, though, it seems like. No, he seems fine. He's fine.
Starting point is 00:04:34 He just eats his own dung sometimes. But that's normal. That's what any kombucha kid would do. That's right. Yeah, Domi's also where we get the line, you should really go Catholic. Yes, that's right, dude. I miss Domi. She used to be a main character in this podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:50 I miss those days a lot. I miss everything about that. I miss eating inside of a restaurant with my friends. I miss hanging out inside the restaurant and doing work. I miss seeing Mr. James all the time. I miss seeing Domi. Every once in a while, Paul, Mr. James' little brother, Mr. Paul, will comment on our
Starting point is 00:05:05 instagram stuff and uh i posted something from my own like woodworking instagram the other day with all these clamps like clamping together a piece i was making and i just put a lot of clamps and he responded uh looks a lot like your basketball defense game something like that i was like that's good response very uplifting i feel i feel like, that's good response. Very uplifting. I feel, I feel uplifted now. So good response. Well, anyway, yeah. Episode 100, dude. Yeah. It's kind of fun. Yeah. I mean, it's just, it's just a number, but it's like a nice round number. So I guess, you know, it's exciting or I don't know. I mean, yeah. If anybody asks, like, have you been doing this podcast song? It's like, well, I'm doing a hundred episodes. And then people are
Starting point is 00:05:43 like, Whoa, that's way better than being like, well, we've done it like almost two years. That doesn't sound as good as a hundred episodes. A hundred episodes. That's nice. Cause yeah, no,
Starting point is 00:05:50 no matter what you got a hundred episodes, they can't take that away from us. They cannot. As long as this gets uploaded, they can't take it away. Yeah, dude, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:05:57 It's awesome. And we're talking next week. We might have, uh, we probably will podcast on the road. I think we should, which would be fun. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:06:03 I think we should. Uh, it sounds like we have access to a nice pool, poolside. Oh, yeah. Just, you know, in the Scottsdale sun, baby. With some extra characters in the back doing some cannonballs. I don't know. Pencil dives.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Hey, let's do quietest splash. Smallest splash, yeah. Dude, let's talk pool games. Because now I'm thinking about like, love pool i love swimming i if i were as rich as i could be and i could afford a pool i would buy one immediately like just throwing a ball to your friend jumping in a body of water yes so fun yes i could do that for two hours straight that's what i'm saying throw me a diver oh yeah that's so fun favorite games growing up was you threw the ball the person as they're jumping in and you ask them a question And so you got a point for catching point for answering the question
Starting point is 00:06:49 And so not only did you have to exercise your body good exercise your mind your mind? Yeah, see options are endless. No, so so endless. I'm a big fan of you take the inner tube You you have your friend at the back of the diving board you throw the inner tube up and now he's got a running start He's got to dive through the inner tube. Oh, you have your friend at the back of the diving board. You throw the inner tube up and now he's got a running start. He's got to dive through the inner tube. Oh, you missed time to energy on the ground. That's okay. Just get through it somehow. Yeah. Get through that tube. Options are endless. Yeah. And if not, then you just belly flop hard. And that's funny too. It's yeah. Let's play that game in Arizona. It's gotta be me. You Isaac Harrison, Trey and Alan, Alan, the boys. Tell me about Alan.
Starting point is 00:07:26 What do I need to know about him? Alan, uh, piano player. He's a pianist. So we can, we can talk, you know, you can talk keys, trebles, bases, keys, codas, coda, coda, like Joe White's dog, coda back. Is that his name? Yes. His dog's name. I took a little coda. I went out to the woods. I remember telling you about it. Like, do you remember? Sorry, I'm not completely sinning this. It was my first summer, I think. He had a deer with him at Staff Training Day.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Yes, dude. He had a pet deer. And he's like, this is Sugar. My bride. My bride. I heard the story of how he got the deer. Well, I think he was just feeding them, right? He was just like standing in the woods.
Starting point is 00:08:07 And this deer comes up to him. And then he just like, I i don't know had some sort of like spiritual connection with this deer and then he starts feeding him yeah and then of course the deer is like well i'll take more of this this is pretty nice of course like this guy's gonna hook me up i don't have to find my food anymore uh the quote of the summer that year was the guy that came up after him that staff training day i don't know who he was he wasn't a can of cut guy he was just there to tell us about some corporate stuff or whatever and his his segue from joe white having sugar in his arms to him giving his speech was he just goes you know like kind of a funny voice he just goes i want a baby deer so we just say that all summer we was like i want a baby deer that's how he started his talk i would like. I don't know what else to do.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I've never done one of these after somebody comes up with a pet deer before. I want a baby deer. I want a baby deer. So anyway, that was fun. Where do we go from here? Koda? Oh, Alan. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Oh, Alan. Plays piano. Yeah, the keyboardist, which I need to start saying keyboardist because pianist makes me a little nervous when I say that. Or you could just be like, no, I start saying keyboardist because pianist yeah, it's me a little nervous when I say that or you could just be like No, I was saying pianist. Yeah, anytime you actually yeah, yeah up and say the P word. How can I remember Alan? Oh big pianist. Yeah, excuse me. He's a big-time keyboarder. Yeah, you're a long time. He's long long pianist Okay okay uh you wanna go you wanna keep going okay we could we could we could go on forever
Starting point is 00:09:29 oh man i'll tell you that right now so oh man i got sunglasses on but i got a little bit of tears a little bit tears in my eyes right now quick tears uh but yeah what do i need to come in hot with them is he more of like a chill guy trace Trey's pretty chill. So I don't know. Trey's very chill. Alan's a chill dude. He looks a lot like Daniel Powder. No. I don't know what Daniel Powder looks like. No one does.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Had a bad day? That's all I saw. No one knows what that guy's looking like unless you downloaded iTunes in like 2007. I don't know why I said Daniel Powder. I mean, I meant to say Daniel Radcliffe. Oh, the Harry Potter guy. Harry Potter. Yeah. looks a lot
Starting point is 00:10:05 like him okay uh so you guys how do i use that hey man hey expel the armors you don't look like daniel powder yeah something like that um big music you had a bad day huh a bad day uh no he's really fun he's he's really funny um he's just a normal guy i think he played high school tennis oh one of those. So. He plays pickleball. Bring that up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I think I'm going to bring all my paddles so we can all play. Sweet. It's going to be awesome. You can have a packed bag with your audio equipment, paddles. Brad, I can't bring the podcast equipment. I'm bringing nine pickleball paddles with me. That'll be fun. It will be fun.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I've written down a couple different people. I only have one written down. Never mind. But Grace left us a YouTube comment. She's like, no way. I'm going to be at the same show as you guys. Yes. So someone named Grace is going to be at the late Wednesday show.
Starting point is 00:10:50 That's going to be awesome. Someone else is going to be whatever. We'll get to meet. They're going to drag me up on stage and make me do my stand up. I've been secretly practicing in the mirror for the last three months. What did we say? You said something to me in the car. I was like, dude, you should use that as a bit someday.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Oh, yeah. It was we were talking about like drinking pop or not drinking, like I, how I'm not drinking poppy more. And I don't know what you said or Isaac said, but it was like, yeah, I've been meaning to cut back to or something. I was like, I can't cut back. I either have to go full in. I'm not a cutback.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Yeah. I'm not a cutback kind of guy. Yeah. I had to cut it off. That's a funny premise. Yeah. Not a cutback guy. And like all the instances you've tried to cut back yeah so i i have i have another few things written down
Starting point is 00:11:29 on my uh stand-up list let me see if i oh okay i'm just kidding that's not that's not true i have one other thing i've already talked about on the podcast okay so it was on the fly on the wall thing oh nice yeah but i'm gonna have more so just whenever I come up there, you know, up on stage, you know, see if I wrote anything new down. Oh, I'll tell you what I wrote down a couple of days ago is this kind of comes from you. So I might need to get your written consent for this. OK, but it was on the pod. We talked about you were like Eleanor Roosevelt has a quote that says, do one thing every
Starting point is 00:12:01 day that scares you. Yeah. And yeah, I was just like every day. Yeah, I'll be dead soon. Right. Yeah. Unless you can says do one thing every day that scares you yeah and yeah i was just like every day yeah i'll be dead soon right like somebody's ends well yeah yeah unless you can do the same thing every day i'm in i'm in trouble yeah refuse to i'm not scared that many things yeah like well just run a stop sign see what happens are you scared of it yes yes okay you have to do it then no you have my consent okay i don't know if i'll bust it out in phoenix but you can say you can say this guy knows what i'm talking about because he kind of led me to this idea this guy yes that's good that'll be fun i'm excited i'm excited to see i'm excited to go to a public event like just yeah go to a thing
Starting point is 00:12:36 yeah i've been going to sports you know basketball games but besides that it's been very bleak i think it'll be popping to it two weeks ago, they said you can have 240 people. And then last week, they're like, you can sell a few more tickets, 270. Okay. Today, Trey was like, hey, we're up to 300. Oh, nice. And they're all sold out. Heck yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:52 So they just keep adding chairs or something. I don't know. But I don't know where they're getting it. Hey. Build rafters. Trey Kennedy's coming to town. That's cool. So.
Starting point is 00:13:02 I'm excited, dude. I'm excited. Yeah, it'll be a packed house. Just go. I was telling isaac the other day and isaac kind of echoed the sentiment i was like dude there's been multiple times where i'm like i should not be going to phoenix yeah i'm just but i just it's gonna be awesome like i have too much stuff going on but that's okay it's gonna be worth it i hope so i hope so i hope so uh how have you been br? Been good, dude. Um, busy, like I said, which everyone's
Starting point is 00:13:26 busy, so whatever. Um, but, but like genuinely I have very little sympathy for people when they're just like, I've been so busy. I'm always just like, just work harder or do like, like work more. Like if you don't, if you don't feel like you can do enough at your job, but I genuinely have been like analyzing how I've been working. And I'm like like i feel like i've been working so much and yet and i think i'm being efficient with my time but i am not getting as much like as i need to get done done so i just feel like i'm like drinking from a water hose in a little bit but um yeah fire hose or water hose a really really like hard water hose okay Okay. You know, like Alan's good PSI. Very strong PSI. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh, drink it from a fire hose,
Starting point is 00:14:17 three from a water hose. You know, I just can't, I can't get the time to go back inside to get water. So I just need to get it right, right from the host outdoor drinking by the shop. Yeah. Um, no, but I had, I think i had three different uh projects three different things go out last weekend which was fun i i had i made a desk for scott scott sell nice and delivered that to him that he loves it he thinks it smells really good yes dude i had no context like he sent you that video did you see that like he sent you and i a video of him sniffing or like my desk that i made him what did you see that he's like how did i my new ritual every single morning before i start work and i'm like jake's gonna think this is so weird dude i don't even remember seeing that yeah what else did we say in the group
Starting point is 00:14:53 message i didn't respond no none of us scott's probably very bitter about it sorry dude i saw it and i was like i don't know what to say to this nice scott i'll be honest i did not see it you know i'm the big I'm the group text responder. It's mainly Scott and I typically talking in group text. The smell of stuff is good though. Isaac made me a little piece recently. And yeah, my room smelled amazing that night. Just the smell of stain.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Yeah, I loved it. Oh, really? He brought me a wooden piece and he brought me a rent money in cash. It was a nice little drop off. Whoa. He's like, Hey dude, what are you doing? I'm like, Oh, I'm editing. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Well, here's $450 in cash in this thing you asked for. Thanks. Wow. You got a pro present drop off. Whoa. He's like, Hey dude, what are you doing? I'm like, Oh, I'm editing. All right, well here's $450 in cash and this thing you asked for. Thanks. Wow. You got a pro present. Yeah. Yeah. I give him a pro. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Yeah. Said straight cash, homie, straight cash. He knows what it means. Um, but yeah, been busy.
Starting point is 00:15:35 I actually had last night was, I had a guy, a ghost runner, ghosty, if you will, uh, pick up a cutting board from me, which was awesome.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Um, so shout out sammy just moved into town and the dude is really cool um he is working for sporting kc okay cool guy sammy yeah cool guy sammy um i think he's like he's like i don't know what the record is i don't and i still don't i don't remember i don't keep track but he's listened to like all of our episodes like 99 episodes in like a month and a half he said oh so i'm like dude that's pretty impressive cool guy sammy a lot of free time sammy uh yeah i think he said that a lot of his job was you know doing things where he could listen to music or you
Starting point is 00:16:15 know podcasts while he's kicking soccer ball stuff like that yeah so he's uh so anyway shout out to sammy he was really kind to he's like he's like dude i know you guys are just like think you're just normal guys but you really like listening to you helped me go through a tough time you know we've got a lot of those recently it's been pretty cool yeah i mean shout out to those people that are going through tough times i'm sorry that you are but i'm glad that we can help out in a small way yeah even um i guess i won't say who but someone close to my life is like going through some rough stuff and like they were like hey even like your podcast like i've been listening to your podcast a lot and yeah yeah i'm surprised it's just cool yeah it's just like it's just cool to hear that because because like as we were
Starting point is 00:16:53 talking last night he's like dude thanks so much for like taking the time to talk to me i was like what i'm just i'm i'm as i'm as normal as you are dude we're out by the water hose dude so probably just getting a drink like i was in my like grungy clothes like i'm like i'm just a normal dude look at my house i'm not like in this massive house or anything but he's like a big side yard but i mean the house is yeah the side yard's pretty large you know build the fence so um but yeah but he's like you you think you're normal but you know you are making an impact on people i'm like that's really cool you think you're so normal but like something's off with you you're a little abnormal i would get it looked at you might be insane something's wrong so but yeah uh overall a good week man i can tell you more about some different
Starting point is 00:17:32 things but i want to hear about your week okay thanks dude uh i'm gonna eat a little bit of my food okay yeah let's be strategic here yeah yeah okay so uh the last 24 hours not so great otherwise pretty great. I don't like the first part of what you said then. Yeah, I got a little food poisoning yesterday, which probably explains the text I sent you earlier. Yeah. We don't need to get into that.
Starting point is 00:17:58 You can imagine after that context. Brad was like, hey, man, sorry, I'm not going to make it for a little while. I got caught up. I was like, dude, no worries, because I am fill in the blank. But anyway, yeah, yesterday. make it for you know a little while i got caught up like dude no worries because i am fill in the blank uh but anyway yeah yesterday uh i can't wait to hear where you went that's right that's right well the bummer is i i got it from chipotle so i'm like oh this is like my top spot what i i think it must have been like undercooked chicken or something or they threw a couple steak pieces in there because it did feel a lot like when i didn't know i was allergic to beef i was slamming it i was like oh i feel really bad but bummer yeah so pretty much all evening and night yesterday i did not feel great and you knew i'm not gonna say the podcast but you knew what i was doing last night too yes so i had to power through i had to power through i'm like i'm not
Starting point is 00:18:41 gonna cancel this i'm just gonna fight through it through it. So yeah, just a psychological battle with my insides for hours and hours. You'd stare in the mirror and say, hey, we're done with this. Not tonight. Not tonight. It was just like whenever you're fighting something off, I feel like the first sign is like weird parts of you start sweating. Like my eyebrows. I would just feel moisture in my eyebrows.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Like, oh, I'm starting to sweat a little bit. Okay, this isn't good. Not good. Not good. good come on be strong and then like you know what's bad too when you're out of place and you start like jason bourne style it's like where are the bathrooms where are the exit signs like if it gets worse yeah yeah i need to know plan yeah yeah so i started doing that at one point which is not good when you get to that point i made it through the whole night not uh vomiting but i get home it's like 10 p.m and I just go straight to bed no dinner no nothing that's rare too yeah you're just like I need to go to bed I'm
Starting point is 00:19:30 gonna sleep this away yeah and then woke up at 1 a.m and the floodgates opened baby and they opened everywhere oh dude which I haven't done that I think since the podcast started I you know I think it's been at least a couple years since since last vom and dude i maybe i just forgot what it's like but i mean i got a good amount up i mean it was an entire burritos it is no fun dude dude yeah i started with three dry ones you know you're just oh it just hurts it just hurts everything i'm sorry here comes the sweat and then yeah three big boys in a row and by the the end, I was like, dang. I mean, that has to be the entire burrito.
Starting point is 00:20:07 This is amazing. This is amazing how much is coming out of me. I don't know if this is fun to listen to or not, but I have questions. Are you, how vocal are you when you go for it? Oh, I don't know. I'm pretty loud, as people could probably imagine. Hey! Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Just by the way you sit down. Yeah, just like... That's probably very similar. Catherine's listening right now, like, yes, that's what he sounds like. I'll tell you what was loud, and maybe at a certain point, this has got to be TMI, but whatever. I had to... We're there, baby.
Starting point is 00:20:44 I had to do... This is my first time ever having to do this. I had to. We're there, baby. I had to do. This is my first time ever having to do this. Trying to think what's a good name to call it. They're like the 180 swivel. Yes, dude. Do you know what I'm saying? You got to get a bowl.
Starting point is 00:20:54 You got to go bowl. Like a bedpan? No, no. It's like a cooking bowl. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You get a bowl? 100%. You don't have a bowl? You've never used a bowl?
Starting point is 00:21:03 No. Not even like you don't put one on the side of your bed, like just in case or something? I think growing up, my parents gave me a bucket. Yeah. Just farm style. Here's a bucket. Figure it out. Go to the slop drop if you need help.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Yeah. Yeah. It's the same idea. I guess we just weren't privileged enough to have buckets. No. Yeah. Yeah. Don't come out unless you fill up to five gallons.
Starting point is 00:21:24 All right. Wow. Yeah. A bowl just seems too nice yeah because then anytime i'd ever cook anything i can't have puppy chow to this bowl now i know what i've done to this you've had puppy chow i've up chowed into this i can't puppy chow out of it yeah so i had to do the 180 swivel in like in quick too it was that's the worst i've never done it before it was so oh where i was going with this is i'll tell you what was loud is i have to go from like seat is down to seat is up i flipped that sucker up and i was like i think i just woke isaac and harrison up with my seat oh yeah oh it was porcelain slam but but then i don't know this is too much i was not planning on talking you just have you just have a destination that you're looking out and you're like i don't want to i don't want to
Starting point is 00:22:03 get any kind of splash zone out of that i don't know dude let's eat some more let's get some grilled sandwiches huh these are really good by the way really they had chick-fil-a just had a little grilled chicken just go back to back spicy so anyway i was vomiting a ton dude if you guys are looking for good food check out the grilled chicken sandwich from chick-fil-a uh anyway so last night was not great and then all day today food has just not seemed desirable. Like I'm going, as soon as we get recording this, I'm going home to see my parents for Easter slash pickleball tournament. Mom's like, my mom was like, what kind of food do you want?
Starting point is 00:22:33 I'm like, I'll be honest, like food does not sound good at all. But like make whatever you want. I'm sure I'll be fine. And then my friend Brad brings me a 30 ton smoothie. Like this is like the only thing I haven't eaten anything today. This is the only thing that's like sounded good. So this is clutch yeah dude let's go 5 20 p.m and yeah like but it's just like you got those not there's like an emptiness in my stomach it's like what's going on are we done yes i don't know if we're done yet it's like yeah that's the worst dude but hey
Starting point is 00:22:58 powering through episode 100 yeah here we are doing it yeah yeah i mean otherwise i've had a great week it's been really fun um just the last 24 hours been a little suspect we had our biggest monday ever which is cool that keeps happening dude that is cool episode 99 is our biggest monday ever so that's just thank you to you guys for yeah spreading the word honestly in the word i don't know we're not doing anything really just the same stuff yeah we might mix up our shirts that we wear on episodes yeah i don't know i mean maybe check it out as i was leaving the house katherine's like you're wearing that shirt and i said yeah yeah why not first time so then i went to smoothie king and i was like wait let me put on a jacket over a little
Starting point is 00:23:38 quarters it real quick yeah uh something i wrote down this week i wrote down a ton of little things none of them are going to take more than 30 seconds, probably. Okay. But one of them is we got a YouTube comment last week that said, Jake has got to be the funniest guy ever. And then you just reply, what? That really made me crack up. I was, I was really debating, like, how should I respond to this? Like, should I just be like, cool, man? Or yeah. I i was just like i think it'll be perfect if i just put what what did they ever respond yeah they did they said something nice like you guys are both great but you compliment each other and then somebody else coming on like below that like seriously yes it needs both of you or something i know jake's hilarious okay i yeah jake compliment
Starting point is 00:24:21 jake what what that actually reminds me maybe you can help me out i'm in the process of chatting with someone and i could use some help responding back to them okay a girl on instagram yesterday sent me a dm that says are you submissive and i have responded okay i responded there i don't know what this what is and i said i said um i've seen them in old war movies, but I've never actually been in one underwater. It's like a submarine. Yeah, that's kind of funny. She responded with, do you have a mistress?
Starting point is 00:24:52 So by no means thrown off by the submarine comment. Do you have a mistress? So no matter no matter what you would have said there, she would have said, do you have? I think that was her go to follow up. Yeah. So I want to get some sort of response out of her. So that's where we're at right now. Do you have a mistress?
Starting point is 00:25:07 Okay. Um, do you have a mistress? And you could say, um, I do, but I've been having back problems. So I've just been sleeping on the floor.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Like mattress. Yeah. Okay. That's a good one. Okay. I'm just going to keep doing that. All right. Thanks. that's pretty
Starting point is 00:25:25 funny joke actually just slightly but it's like a mistake that no one would ever make but it's like yeah but understand like she's gonna get the joke hopefully hopefully somebody does you know you just got it yeah it's funny that's pretty funny like no i said mistress i don't know oh like a queen yeah yes okay yeah yeah i think we're talking about the same thing yeah queen size wait wait no what did you mean yeah like a queen sorry um okay 30 seconds so that's one thing yeah jake's funniest guy ever what okay i got i got a few 30 second things here okay um first one is my fingers dude okay So first one is 30 seconds of fingers, spirit fingers. I don't know. I mean, you can go on YouTube and look, but there was,
Starting point is 00:26:11 I don't know if it was six, eight weeks ago, whenever it was, I was working in the shop and I like some, I don't remember exactly how it happened, but I think a piece of wood fell on my thumb really hard and it hurt really bad, but I got like a blood, you know, like one of those like bloody show me, well, that's, that's, that's part of it. It's gone. got like a blood you know like one of those like bloody show me well that's that's part of it it's gone it's like you can you can barely see like a little bit of oh yeah little remnants i got the sunglasses on but i could see a little bit but they used to be like like this like it was like a dark spot underneath my fingernail and there was nothing i could do about it until it like just grew out oh and so it's finally gone so pushing an air
Starting point is 00:26:42 bubble out of like your iphone case or something yeah, I was really really excited to like announce it was gone Like you can look back and like it'll look like I just have dirty hands or something. I remember that but now Right as I was about to announce it. I did two more sucky things to my fingers. Oopsie I basically I hammered this one pretty good. Oh, I see the purple. See that's a good one That was probably like five days ago this happened. So it's like, you know, it's like just under it doesn't hurt anymore Gosh this one over here though, which is not as bad, but it's like underneath the fingernail Oh, okay by the tip that one is still pretty fresh. I don't know. I've just been nailing myself lately
Starting point is 00:27:17 So dude, I would get so frustrated myself if I was a woodworker like any time that happened Yeah, like this would have been this is avoidable if I just focus this avoidable now, I'm in pain There's a million things that like anytime that happened, it's like, this is a little bit of, this is avoidable. If I just focus this avoidable, now I'm in pain. There's a million things that like, anytime I make the wrong cut, I'm frustrated anytime. Yeah. There's so many. Yeah. And sometimes when it's late at night, you just have to give up sometimes. It's like, I'm going to bed.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Yeah. It's, it's done. We're done. I'm going to bed. I'm grabbing my ball. Yeah. Right. Just in case this is bull.
Starting point is 00:27:42 I can't believe you, you would go sit on the toilet with like a bowl on your lap 100 really if you're if if you have if if they're if it's if you're struggling from both ways yeah yeah oh yeah 100 what would be a good name for that like something that comes out of the top and the bottom like a um chinese finger trap i don't know i'm trying to think something that comes out of both ends. Yeah, maybe just that. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:08 I was up late. Oh, what happened? I was Chinese finger trapping all night. Is a grain silo a good idea? I don't know exactly how that works. Just any cylinder. Yeah. I just had a graduate cylinder going on.
Starting point is 00:28:21 But anyway, fingers. That's my 30 seconds. You got any more? Okay, cool. I got more. Yeah, yeah. No, I got another. Just a blessing of the week. Do you have a blessing of the week? You can think of one.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Of course you can. No, you can. I believe in you. My blessing of the week. Trey gave me another raise. Pretty like decently substantial one. Out of nowhere. In an email.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Oh, wow. Hey, dude, you've been crushing lately. I'm going to start paying you more money. Thank you, Trey. Okay. See you in Phoenix. Yeah. So, blessing of the week.
Starting point is 00:28:50 I think I got my last one in August, so it's been like, what, nine months? That's awesome. So, yeah, I'm very thankful. He takes care of me financially. That's awesome, dude. Congrats. Thanks. That's a huge blessing.
Starting point is 00:29:01 What's your blessing of the week? My blessing of the week is a 14-pound baby. I don't know how heavy he is. He's just a blessing to me. Yeah. Uh, or, or Hattie actually, I had a really good time. Oh dude, that patron video was awesome. Which, Oh, the one that was like a little bit of a montage of them. How do you running into the truck, dude? Oh yeah. So funny. Hi. Yeah. She's really into her tricycle right now so she's like always out and uh like out in the driveway while i'm working in the shop and i told her i was like you know i wear these like headphones like safety headphones and listen to stuff while i'm working and so i tell her like hey i can't hear you if i have my headphones on so just come up and touch me if you need anything
Starting point is 00:29:41 there was one afternoon where she came up and touched me like i swear not even exaggerating 25 times to just tell me the most non you know like non-sequitur yeah there's a cloud not substantial at all like like she'll be like mom looks so pretty today oh that's substantial brad come on but but out of nowhere like like it's not like i like i was expecting her to be like hey can you move my trcle? It fell in the grass and I can't get it. There's a strange man in our yard. Yeah. Why is Henry here staring at me? Like, and, uh, no, it's like, it's like, just like nothing. Like, do you want gum? And it's like, I'm okay. Thank you. You know? So, um, is she ever in any danger of like with any equipment or anything? I always, I I i'm like there was the other day where i was standing and she was kind of close i was like stay there like i want to make sure she's very
Starting point is 00:30:30 cautious anyway like i think it's bow that i have to worry about that stuff right like how he's always been cautious like we that's good we had one of those like things you put on the stairs so that they don't fall down the stairs like but we never put it up for hattie because she never even got close that's a good quality bow he would fall down like 12 times a day if we didn't tell like he's just so much more adventurous so um so yeah every once in a while i'll have to like tell her but i think she's pretty aware of like the saws she's kind of scared of the loud noises anyway it is loud so i actually have an extra set of earmuffs and so she comes up to me and asks if she could wear them sometimes so sometimes she's on her tricycle riding around with these huge earmuffs. Um,
Starting point is 00:31:08 but anyway, uh, I had a really fun time with her on, I think it was Monday. So Sunday night, we went to soccer. I mentioned that we were going to do soccer. How was that? It couldn't have not gone worse. It was so bad. So it was like, uh, I don't know if I mentioned it last week. I know, I know I mentioned soccer, but I don't know if I mentioned how they do it, but you go to like this, like practice or like, like teaser of a session, basically like see if your kids want to do soccer or not.
Starting point is 00:31:34 And if so, then you can sign up for them. If not, maybe next year kind of thing. Cause it's for like two to four year olds, I think. Um, and so we get there and just right out the gate,
Starting point is 00:31:43 she's like, that's not how I was expecting it to be. Like she's so type a that she saw like the soccer ball. Wasn't the classic one that she'd seen in her books that she was like white and black, exactly like hexagons, right? Like it's like not looking like that.
Starting point is 00:31:56 And she's like, this is not what I was expecting. So she literally did not participate one iota, like, like just that like stood there. And you know, like Catherine, i took like turns basically like trying to encourage her to do stuff and like trying to participate and answer
Starting point is 00:32:10 the coach's questions and stuff and the coach like they were doing such a good job of like being so fun and uh she was like watching them do everything but just like did not actually participate at all and so you know i was getting frustrated katherine was getting frustrated as we were leaving um oh i have another story about the park that we were at. So remind me. Um, but as we were leaving, we are like, you know, she's like, she's not going to want to do this. She's more of a ballet, you know, bookworm kind of girl maybe. And you know, Catherine's like, well, do you think you want to do soccer? And she's like, yeah, I think so. And we're like what
Starting point is 00:32:45 that's crazy and we you know we like talked to her all about like you did a really you know like in james it says let your yes bs you know like we were like you know like hammering this into her and she's like yeah i want to do it and so the next day it was kind of like a fun like rite of passage as a dad to a kid that's growing up she and i like went to dick sporting goods and like picked out her very own soccer ball and it was like shin guards no shin guards we didn't you should i mean you should see the soccer that they're playing okay it's like very very minimal it's like it's like what you would imagine a vbs soccer game would be like it's more like let's be sharks and run down here and let's do you know it's more like just getting them familiar with kicking a ball basically like if a shin is getting kicked that's actually a good thing like at least
Starting point is 00:33:27 they made contact with something like at least they're kicking i don't think they should get anywhere near another kid with the shins um so but anyway it was just really fun like it was a special time and then we went to smoothie kick afterwards uh and share a smoothie so it was just a fun little daddy daughter you know dadder day on a monday so nice yeah it was fun she and she she loved like dick sporting like a whole wall with just soccer balls she's like this is so cool so um you got our first ball that's nice but yeah i i meant to tell you this just off the pod but i'll tell you now as we were walking uh up to the soccer field it was at our park which is where we had the crazy lady where we had the crazy lady and
Starting point is 00:34:06 the crazy lady came out of her house as we were walking she's back we parked in the parking lot but there were there were cars parked in the street and she comes out she goes sir sir and i was like yes and she's like this like she like pointed to the uh cars on the street she's like these are not supposed to be here these cars are not supposed to be here. These cars are not supposed to be here. They're supposed to be in the parking lot. Can you tell them to move? And I don't know why I was not my normal kind self, but I just, I just very politely, I don't even know if I was politely. I just very go very quickly go, that's not my responsibility. And I just walked away. That's what you should have said. Yeah. But I can't believe the same, the same woman. And then I walked by and then somebody else parked on
Starting point is 00:34:45 the street and they got out of their car she's like there's a parking lot over there i'm like what is your life like that's just sad like i'm like you can do something different like you do a lot of things different and who cares if you park on the street or not like it's not illegal to park on the street no i feel like it's a park as long as there's no signs that say no parking there's not yeah go for it yeah so anyway it was just crazy i was like of course she's back at it maybe is this what you do for fun yeah is this what entertains you throughout the day so that's too bad it was kind of sad but uh she's playing soccer so that's awesome yeah it's fun i hope it works out for her i hope uh i've said this before on the podcast but my parents have told me that
Starting point is 00:35:22 sports kind of took away the type a for me because I used to think things needed to be perfect. Right. And then once I started playing sports, it's like, oh, things don't go your way a lot. And it kind of chilled me out a little bit. So I hope you're right. Yeah. Keep keep making her go and do stuff. Thanks, dude.
Starting point is 00:35:36 Yeah. Let's see. I got another 30 second thing in here somewhere. Probably. Oh, earlier, like a couple hours ago ago there was a knock on the door i answer it and the guy goes hey are you the man of the house which is a fun like you look down you're like i'm okay i do all right i got a raise yesterday yeah you tell me and i was like well no one's ever asked me that before i don't't know. There's three of us who live here. We've never decided who the man was.
Starting point is 00:36:06 But like, what do you need? And he's like, I'm here with Nielsen TV ratings. Are you familiar with Nielsen? And anyway, we spoke about TV ratings for about 45 seconds. And I left. But it made me think, I think he thought I was like a kid. Like, are you the man of the house? Like, he thought, like, my dad should probably be the one answering these questions like no i'm 29 pretty old that didn't talk to
Starting point is 00:36:30 me till i was like leaving like dang he really thought my dad should probably he's like so more of a spongebob or phineas and ferb kind of guy all right so which of these like yeah which of these shows do you resonate with we got uh yeahumbaFu. Yeah, so clearly you're not watching TV. You're not watching TV from 8 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., but after school, what do you watch? With maybe a quick Hot Pocket or some Bagel Bites, huh? No, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but they do have parental controls on your TV, right? You're not allowed to just have full access to the cable.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Yeah, yeah, that's correct. That's correct. Do you limit screen time in your house yeah how much does how much does your old man let you have yeah you have a tv in your room that's dangerous okay i'll tell you what but uh i'm the man so what did he ask you what shows you watched or what dude it went so quick he was like uh because i was about to tell him like hey i'm in the middle of working which i was like yeah train i've been getting after it even amidst the vom in the last two days.
Starting point is 00:37:25 I think we've shot five videos. I've already edited three. So it's been a lot. Wow. But I was about to tell him just like, it's not my responsibility. You know, one of those things. But he's like, hey, just real quick, man. What do you guys use to watch TV?
Starting point is 00:37:37 And I was like, we use an antenna for local channels. And one of my roommates has YouTube TV. If it's not on there, he goes, you write that down. He goes, all right, I guess that's it then. All right. a good day okay so it was great cool that was it okay so i don't know like i think if i use cable there were a lot more questions maybe interesting yeah well nielsen is like the big you always hear them yeah they're the ratings people he was like have you heard of nielsen i was like yeah i you know when people talk about ratings huh and then that was it what an interesting job to
Starting point is 00:38:06 like go door to door with anything. Door to door with anything would be so hard. Yeah. Man of the house. Like what if I just tried that? Maybe that's like a way to stretch yourself. Like just go door to door on one street for like an hour and just try to sell my furniture. Just do what you do. Yeah. Like, hey. Hey, you ever sat
Starting point is 00:38:22 on a chair? You the woman in the house? Who's asking? uh so okay uh 30 seconds for me um i randomly this week have been listening to 80s music while i've been working dude harrison is when we played pickleball harrison had that 80s playlist was it 80s maybe that's what triggered it then yes i bet you're right um sorry i interrupted you no that was it basically he keeps playing that playlist and I keep liking it a lot I don't know if it's like
Starting point is 00:38:48 a little bit summery or like you know it's like whatever but I've been enjoying it and I listened to a song called Word Up the other day okay
Starting point is 00:38:56 and I actually I sent you the link for it there's just like a five second hopefully we won't get copyright struck for this but there's just an amazing quick part of it it's like the 230 mark okay let me find it oh okay that's the beginning let me get to the part all right you guys ready here it is
Starting point is 00:39:15 i'm just imagining ephraim jonah hill so i'm just like i'm just in the shop sanding you know and i was like i gotta figure out what song this is and yeah make sure i play it for the podcast so that's pretty funny yeah i've never really been an 80s fan like i don't know not like against it by any means but never like gotten into it so maybe i'm going to yeah i think when we were playing pickleball prince came on i said this is like one of my favorite 80s songs you're like what's the deal with i don't get prince i don't buy it that's that's an i don't buy it for me you don't get
Starting point is 00:40:01 a prince huh i i understand he's really good at guitar and he's but but his songs are just kind of just blah to me to be honest just blah yeah i want to know i want to know if you're a huge prince fan out there what about him is so exciting to you so like he's like iconic to people oh yeah like so good and i'm like i like a decent amount of his songs raspberry beret it's when doves cry it's like i don't dislike him but i'm like why is this guy why was he hailed as like one of the best yeah yeah and maybe he was more poppy before much else was poppy i don't know maybe he was like more of a trailblazer i don't i don't have the answer so um anyway we don't have the answers guys we don't know okay uh i hung out with um the girl whose dog made me allergic to beef uh recently and i kind of forgotten like we you know there was a bunch
Starting point is 00:40:53 of us we played sand volleyball or whatever and i didn't even think to introduce her to my friends it's like hey this is the girl whose dog made me allergic to be you know like that's not even how i see her anymore although it should be how i see her yeah yeah it should be the only label I see on her but we all went to Sonic afterwards and I'm realizing now I should have ordered just a couple of cheeseburgers and just stared at her the whole time and just be like you did this you did this and then maybe I get a bowl ready yeah and just stare at her but then throw the bowl away and like her lap is the bowl or something. Because, yeah, I am so quick to not blame her. But I should be. I should be completely blaming her every time I go to Chipotle.
Starting point is 00:41:31 You didn't do anything wrong? No, yeah. Every time I order chicken at Chipotle instead of the steak, instead of the carnitas, I should have her like face in mind. And I don't. Just like, that would be funny. Like every single time you have to do anything, uh like you're ordering at jose peppers and like you're taking a selfie of yourself and you're like like a video yeah i'll have the quesadillas please okay you want chicken steak or carnitas chicken again yeah i guess
Starting point is 00:41:56 whatever every single time that's a good idea like just a video every time hey hey feel like chicken today? Yeah, I kind of have to. Emily's dog didn't get enough shots. Yeah. Is that what it was? It was a dog like had ticks on it, I guess. I mean, no way to completely trace it.
Starting point is 00:42:20 But I like me and her dog were really connecting. Her dog was on my lap for like two hours. OK. And then the next day I got a tick bite. Gotcha. It's got to be the dog. And as I was like checking out, they get me right before they give me my receipt. This lady takes this stamp thing, like stamps my receipt and then gives me to have a good
Starting point is 00:44:53 day. And I was like, and I go to Home Depot all the time, obviously. So I'm like, what in the world? What was the stamp? You know, it's kind of an odd experience. Like, yeah, see her do that. And I look at the receipt and it was like a Michael Grotty kind of thing from, uh, or Michael Gotti, whatever his name is from the office. It just says, we'll definitely see you again soon. Oh, Hey, take it easy. I could be from out of town.
Starting point is 00:45:16 We'll definitely see. I'm like, I don't know how I feel about this. And why do they, why do they take the time to stamp that bad boy? Yeah. we'll definitely be seeing you again soon, huh? Break your kneecaps if you don't come back. I'm like, what is this? It was just a weird experience. Like I've never, like in the manager meeting that day or something, it was like, I think we really need to like encourage people to come back. Well, I have this stamp.
Starting point is 00:45:41 We could just put on all the receipts. Okay, good. Let's do it we'll definitely see you again yeah the definitely also just sounds like very interesting like that was a long thing to put on a stamp there i like that like a like a waiter like he's been your waiter the whole night he's like all right i hope you guys had fun it was a pleasure taking care of you and uh hope to see you guys again yeah yeah we'll come back will you seriously win hey win because i had a feeling i'd see you again yeah you think you'll come back here chicken quesadillas were pretty
Starting point is 00:46:11 good huh yeah yeah i think i'll definitely see you again it's complete tone shift yeah well definitely we'll definitely see you again all right thanks for coming out to the royals game you guys drive safe like the people are always like you know standing there waving as you leave all right come back now. Seriously. Come back. If you don't come back, I will see you somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Seriously. Baseball's in decline and we need you guys to come back or else you don't come back here. I'm going to have to come find you elsewhere. So why don't you just come back here? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:37 Huh? I'll burn you to the ground. I'll definitely see you again. Yeah. That's funny stamp. It was. Yeah, it was very intimidating.
Starting point is 00:46:43 So I don't know. Go to Home Depot sometime and see if they do that to you you see if you get stamped uh i told you a little bit about this before uh hand just because it had just happened right we were about to record kind of but uh episode 94 i talked about how my friend grant and i had this joke going when we were in australia new zealand that he does not like spike ball he doesn't want to see it he doesn't want to be around it please don't even bring up that you're playing spike ball. He doesn't want to see it. He doesn't want to be around it. Please don't even bring up that you're playing spike ball on this trip. And then we never told them otherwise.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I didn't know that any of those guys on the trip listened to the podcast, but I get a text from old Jason Jenkins today. Old JJ. And he said, dude, Grant doesn't actually hate spike ball. It just listed episode 94. I was like, oh, wow. I had no idea you listened. I was like, that's hilarious. He goes, we actually were so sensitive about that and tried not to hype it up when we were going to new zealand i was like that's so funny and uh then these were the guys that were like obsessed with
Starting point is 00:47:35 spike ball right obsessed with it played it at lax so did they not play it when they got to new zealand i think they just made sure to not like there's like hiding don't do it around grant go to a different beach like grant walks in the sure to not like, there's like hiding. Don't do it around Grant. Go to a different beach. Grant walks in the room. They're like, hey, guys, put it away.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Put it away. Cease and desist on the spike ball talk. It was so funny. It was also interesting. I should have asked Jason this while we were texting, but because he would know better. But we went to
Starting point is 00:47:59 while we were in Australia, we went to Hillsong Church, like where Hillsong started, like the OG Hillsong Church. Like, this would be cool. We were at there. You know, the worship is amazing. It's really good. It's time for the pastor to come on. Like guys, we're very excited today. We have a satellite speaker. We brought him in via video conference all the way from Dallas, Texas, you know, so-and-so and it's Jason's head pastor. No, it's like Dallas church goes all the way there. Yeah. All the way to Australia. And it sees the same pastor and it's something dallas church he goes all the way there yeah all the way to australia
Starting point is 00:48:26 and it sees the same pastor and it's something else happened too i remember him putting it in like australia group text i mean no way i can remember this but he was somewhere else i mean literally the next weekend maybe it's like when he flew back to la yeah then he's like i want to go visit you know mosaic or you know some like cool like la church and goes there and his pastor is like there too he's like i can't get away from this guy like it happened to him like three weeks in a row that That's it. Yeah. It's always a bummer of an experience though.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Like when you go to a church, like as a guest and it's like, it's you Sunday. And it's like, okay, fine. I remember mission Sunday. It's like,
Starting point is 00:48:56 okay, we're just going to highlight all the missions that we're in. Okay. No, I mean, I'm sure Uganda needs it, but I was kind of me personally. I wanted to hear the head pastor.
Starting point is 00:49:03 I went to a david crowder's church in waco one time okay i don't ubc i think it was called and usb usb that's right it's just all virtual and so he but he wasn't he wasn't leading worship that day and i was like oh cool this this guy with no beard is gonna lead how am i supposed to connect with him cool really cool man really cool that reminds me um kind of think who from this group listen to the How am I supposed to connect with him? Cool. Really cool, man. Really cool. That reminds me. I'm trying to think who from this group listens to the podcast. Garrett Gibson.
Starting point is 00:49:29 You'll know the story. We should get him on the pod. Shout out Garrett, man. Garrett Gibson. Yeah. He texted me something yesterday about I don't buy it. He bought something that said refrigerate after opening. He's like, why am I buying things?
Starting point is 00:49:38 I don't believe it. Yeah. I don't buy it. That's right. It's pretty funny. Does he live on the island somewhere? He's on the island uh saint thomas okay i believe that's awesome good for you garrett good for hey good for you huh
Starting point is 00:49:51 yeah good job how's your mom so uh senior year of college there's this pretty big church off the highway in bolivar you always drive past it it looks cool it looks massive yeah and yeah just one day we're like let's like this sunday let's actually go to that church you never hear of anyone going there no one at sbu goes there i don't know why and it looks massive yeah and yeah just one day we're like let's like this sunday let's actually go to that church you never hear of anyone going there no one at sbu goes there i don't know why and it looks like it looks cool it's massive and so i don't think i've told the story on the podcast before but we go there and we realize oh the reason it looks so massive is because half of this is like a senior living center like they just live here at the church oh interesting and then they just walk over to church so there's a reason that no one from SBU ever goes here.
Starting point is 00:50:27 So this campus that they have is really just, yeah. It's just a bunch of old people. Old folks. And it was so funny. Just like, I mean, it was awesome. Like they were so excited to see us. Like they've never seen a college student come to that church before. Which is crazy because it's Bolivar and SBU like runs the town.
Starting point is 00:50:40 Surely someone else has visited it. Yeah. But we just had such a great inside joke afterwards because, I mean, they would like corner us and individually talk to us. And then we came back later and compared stories. And it was like, I'm like, well, I mean, these people seem really nice, but they really want me to see Pastor Brian. It's like, dude, that's what they said to me.
Starting point is 00:50:55 I guess like their guest pastor is there. And all these old people were just like, live it. Like the one time we get these college students to come, Pastor Brian's not even here. And so, I mean, they reiterate that to us so much. I mean, you guys got to come back for Pastor Brian. Did you? They're making it sound like this guy is, you know, like the next David Koresh or something. No, but we never went back. We talked about it because it was such a funny joke that went, oh, we got to see Pastor Brian.
Starting point is 00:51:19 For whatever reason, Garrett seems like the kind of guy that would really ham it up with old people. Yeah. He does. He does good with parents. Yeah. With the olds. Yeah. He just like, we've gone to the casino with him a few times and he just like, always is like very charming to the dealers. I feel like, I don't know something about it. I was just like, yeah, people like them for a guy with a nose that large. It is impressive how friendly he can be and how charismatic you don't know Garrett. He looks like Shia LaBeouf, but a little bit poor. But if like Shia LaBeouf had just broke his nose and it was kind of swollen. He does have a schnoz on him for sure. So shout out Garrett.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Yeah, shout out Garrett. Garrett also, let's talk about Garrett a little bit. I forget exactly. I don't know. We don't have to tell all those jokes, but he would play pickleball with us, but he would play with this paddle that A was very crappy like very low end and also like it's like probably two-thirds the size of a normal paddle oh yeah it was like a children's baseball club it was like a starter yeah it was like it was like in a starter pack
Starting point is 00:52:14 that like if hattie and i were like wanting to get into pickleball together like hey let's get this four pack of paddles for 15 and play pickleball and he like refused to like use a different paddle. Gary, you want to like a full size one, but he's very athletic and he's pretty good at pickleball. Yeah. He can handle it.
Starting point is 00:52:30 Pretty competitive for using that kind of paddle. So I can't believe you remember that. That's so funny. That's all I remember about him. That in the stars is, no, I was going to say his wife's name, whatever.
Starting point is 00:52:39 So it's a P yeah. Peyton. Nice dude. I knew it. I just was like, I don't know if we should talk about it. She was named after Peyton Manning. Do you know that that that's not true oh i was like no i don't think i knew that it's sean peyton oh yeah way more believable um anyway okay i went to uh a consultation for lasik eye surgery this week just a consultation yeah you have to like go and like they have to
Starting point is 00:53:02 like deem if you're a candidate or not make sure you have eyes surgery yeah um which turns out i am because i think almost everybody is i think it's like hey are you willing to pay us money yeah you're a candidate uh but when the casino takes your temperature it's like i'm sure i'm gonna be fine i'm sure you're gonna 103 did you bomb last night though you're good um so but i went there uh on the recommendation from lukehogland.com oh my gosh l-u-k-e-h-o-u-g-l-a-n-d.com prime lending for all your uh real estate needs or if you just want to know where brad went to lasik also check out lukehogland.com he'll probably tell you that would be funny send luke a message on his website that says hey where should i go to get lasik eyes yes absolutely and then if luke doesn't listen to the podcast then he'll have no idea he'll be like whoa what is this going on
Starting point is 00:53:47 uh but he told me he got it in high school which granted he's you know six years out of high school or whatever now but uh he said he got it out of high school he's like i think it was around eight hundred dollars for the surgery and i was like whoa that was way cheaper yeah you were listening to pineapple what what am i saying pineapple surprise i was gonna say pineapple subs it's firehouse subs like a drink out of a pineapple hose like a pine house uh talk to alan yeah he knows he gets it uh anyway i can't wait to tell alan hey dude i've never done this before but i think you should listen to my podcast i've never asked anyone to do this in my life but i think you gotta listen the first 15 minutes please do it um so anyway yeah he said
Starting point is 00:54:28 800 and i was like i was like wow that's way cheaper than i thought it would be you know is that per eye is that both i think he was saying both yeah even if it were even if it were per eye that doesn't that was cheaper than in my head i was thinking like two thousand dollars or something like that and you know i have contacts i've been getting hooked up from my contacts from a ghosty for like the last seven, eight months. Shout out Tabitha. She's your new Mr. James. But I think the wells run dry on that. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Because she's no longer working there. Anyway, it doesn't matter. What's her new job? You can get hooked up somewhere. I think she's doing... Smoothie King? I was trying to think of something that was so irrelevant that I couldn't use. No, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:55:05 Yeah, what are we? Smoothie King is the one you you'd want for tabitha to work at yeah that or like um chipotle too soon Is it too soon always too soon right now? I mean just right now by the time this comes out I'll probably be fine, but right now like oh no way no way okay, okay, okay? I think I would like her to work at Chevrolet Chevrolet because then she could just give me new cars oh what about like a leather company what would she give me just a bunch of leather we're talking belts I mean wallets lazy boys think about it new car seats just a bike seat for Hattie I work at a I work at a leather company oh cool can you give me a new car seat uh no that's yeah would that be cool that would be very cool what else i like i like just like
Starting point is 00:55:51 like deconstructing to like the max like i would i would love if she worked at a plastic company man oh because then she could get me everything anything i, toothbrushes. Water bottles. Routers. A bowl to vomit. Cups. This is going great. This is going great. Stupid.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Maybe she could work at Spotify. She could get you music. Oh, she could get me hooked up with Trey Songz. Or, yeah, like Trey's new music he's coming out with or trey songs or trey songs with an s or z whatever someday this is something you know when i like want to find a video that train i've made i type in trey and the first result is trey songs i have this weird goal that i don't think i've ever said out loud to someday it's trey kennedy above trey song maybe if trey becomes relevant long enough because he's on his way out yeah 100 yeah i don't i don't really know anything about trey songs to be honest i'm sure i know of Trey Songz. Maybe if Trey becomes relevant long enough. Because Trey Songz is on his way out. Yeah, 100%.
Starting point is 00:56:45 I don't really know anything about Trey Songz, to be honest. I'm sure I know some of his songs. I'm about to dive in. That was him. I don't know this song. I'm about to dive in. Is that how it goes? I don't know. Stephen Curry's Chapman sings that song.
Starting point is 00:57:02 Dude, what did you think of that video? That was great. Guys, right now on Patreon is probably one of the more just like jubilant, like just like happy videos we've ever made. And it's mainly Harrison. I watched it like 5.30 in the morning right when I woke up because there were so many comments already on it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:16 And I was like, what's going on with this thing? And I was like, this is unbelievable. I mean, it really was like, it's a crazy circumstance to happen. Just like put on a movie, like let's just watch, put some on the background. And then you hear it like, saddle up your horse. It was like, it's a crazy circumstance to happen. Just like put on a movie. Like, let's just watch, put some on the background. And then you hear it like saddle up your, it's like, no way. How does this get on here?
Starting point is 00:57:30 Oh, it was good. What was the movie called? Do you remember? A week away. Okay. I think Catherine would actually really probably want to watch that. Like unironically, like this movie is great. When's the sequel?
Starting point is 00:57:39 When you become a mom, you're like, no, those things are sweet. No, they're nice. So anyway, Tabithaa what's your new job uh but anyway went to lasik eye surgery uh consultation turns out i'm a candidate but i got a little bit of a stiggy in my left eye aka astigmatism stigulous check stigulous check might help out with this they have to check you for stigulous because my gosh they quoted me a lot more than i thought it would be how much i'm talking 3800 plus two dollars wait three eight hundred two dollars um and that's worth a thousand dollar off promotion they said
Starting point is 00:58:12 i was like whoa did they end it with we'll definitely see you again is it a threat yeah but we better be seeing you again they said 3800 3800 for your sticky eye or for both oh for both that's total, compared to my $800 that I was expecting a little bit surprised. And she, the lady even told me the first, like you meet with multiple people. You meet with like this person that shows you this video and like take some measurements of your eye. And then you meet with an optometrist. Then you meet with this scheduler lady. And the first person, the measuring person told me like worst case scenario, $2,400 per eye. And I was like, Whoa, what? They each get to throw out their own price.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Why is scheduler lady throwing out prices? Okay. Okay. You know, like whatever. Um, and then the last lady said, yeah, you know, basically they were saying $4,800 minus the $1,000 discount. So I was, I'm worst case scenario. Cause I got a little sticky. What is a stick? I don't really understand exactly how it works, but I think it's my eye is shaped a little bit odd or something. Oh, don't let them do that to you. Don't, don't let them. I shame you. Yeah. My, my eye can be as shaped as it wants to be. And it's still beautiful. Okay. Um, but yeah, I don't really understand. But anyway, if you, if you're out there and you're a LASIK person, if you have hookups
Starting point is 00:59:26 with LASIK, I will, I will drive to your city and get LASIK. If you can hook me up for a cheaper price than $3,800. This is great. So, and that'd be a very fun story. It would be, Hey, what are you doing? I'm about to go to, uh, Walla Walla, Washington to go get some LASIK eye surgery. I like that. That was the first city that came to mind.
Starting point is 00:59:45 First one was Salem or, but there's a Salem, Oregon, right? And Missouri Salem, Oregon's where the witch trials happened in Missouri. No Salem, no Salem, Massachusetts or whatever. Salem witch trials, isn't it? Oh, okay. It's like way like that was like beginning of America time. Yeah. So it could have been Oregon.
Starting point is 01:00:01 I love how you're like in Missouri. Cause I think, yeah. Anyway, uh, there's a Salem been Oregon. I love how you're like, and Missouri. Because I think, yeah, anyway. There's Salem and Missouri. I believe it. I feel like Missouri has all these towns that are also in other states. Yeah, Springfield, Mexico, California, Cuba. California?
Starting point is 01:00:16 Yeah, California, Missouri. Huh, interesting. That's all. Anyway, got LASIK stuff going on, and they dilate your eyes. Have you ever been to an optometrist appointment? No. So they dilate your eyes. My eye shapes are phenomenal. Sorryrist appointment no so they dilate your eyes my eyes are phenomenal sorry don't brag sorry sorry they are good though probably like you can get lazy guys to read for like 200 jake oh cool we actually we will pay you yeah we want to take a look at those baby blues right um so afterwards they dilate your eyes and
Starting point is 01:00:39 they're like it's uh like you're pretty sensitive to light afterwards um but luckily it's pretty overcast right now. So you should be fine. So I walk out and first of all, you can't see nearsighted stuff anymore. So I couldn't like see my phone. So I was trying to text Catherine. I was like,
Starting point is 01:00:53 I can't do this. I had to call her and be like, Hey, I'm leaving. But it was pretty bright or pretty dim outside and had to go do another errand after that. Went to FedEx to ship some stuff, ship some cutting boards.
Starting point is 01:01:05 Oh, this is crazy. Okay, okay, okay. And then it got a little sunny outside, but they also told me that I had an infection in my contact, and so they're like, I wouldn't wear your contacts for a few days. That's why I got my glasses on. And so I wasn't wearing my glasses,
Starting point is 01:01:19 or I was wearing my glasses on my contacts, but then it got sunny, and it was very bright. It was upsetting me me so i'd do the thing where you put sunglasses on over your glasses cool guy and so i'm like walking into fedex like with like and they were kind of like not exactly shaped right so you could like still see the glasses underneath you know i just look like an idiot so anyway that was fun time um but yeah i really think i will get lasik i don't know how soon it will be because of the price tag but um i think it'll be awesome whenever
Starting point is 01:01:52 it happens it's crazy convenience dude do you know much about it i learned a lot about lasik obviously from i know they use a razor blade to cut your eye they cut your eye and it takes like two minutes yeah the whole thing is like five minutes long. And you can like you can function the next day just fine. Like it's like that's pretty modern. Yeah. Technology right there. Yeah. Good for us.
Starting point is 01:02:12 It's really wild. So I'm excited about it. LASIK. I'm excited to go to Walla Walla, Washington with you, Jake. And let's have a night. We do. It's called LASIK and laser. And we go laser tagging afterwards.
Starting point is 01:02:21 It's real dark in there. You'll be fine. Let me LASIK and laser. One of the things they say after you're this is awesome, too. It's like when I want to do it. Oh, Chick-fil-A sick. It's real dark in there. You'll be fine. That'd be fun. LASIK and laser. One of the things they say after your, uh, this is awesome too. This is like when I, why I want to do it.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Ooh, chick for LASIK. That's what we do after your, that's, that's good. Chick for LASIK. Uh, after your surgery,
Starting point is 01:02:33 you're supposed to go and take a nap for two to six hours. Not bad. Cause they said the one time you feel some like mild discomfort is like right afterwards when your eyes, but like if you're sleeping, your eyes aren't moving too much. That sounds awesome. And so like,
Starting point is 01:02:47 yeah, just, you know, have a night cool or something and just take a long nap. I'm like, okay, so I'm going to schedule this for tomorrow. Please.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Yeah. That's fantastic. I, uh, speaking of laser tagging, it's kind of the same thing. I had just a, a big inkling this week.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Now, I think it's not the right word. I just had a big, uh, Hankron. Hankering. Yeah had a big... Hankren. Hankering. Yeah, Hankren. Hankren.
Starting point is 01:03:10 H-A-N-K-R-I-N. Yes. Hankren. And maybe an apostrophe at the end, too. Oh, yeah. Double post. I really want to go to Trampoline Park. Really? It's been a while.
Starting point is 01:03:18 They're so fun. I wanted to go on a non-glow night. Yeah. And I was texting a few people. Couldn't get anyone to go. That's right. I don't feel like it's been that long. I know, just got in the mood so long i was like yeah i haven't been to one in a couple years maybe maybe five years mine's like four months it's time i'm ready
Starting point is 01:03:32 to be back okay but i was like i would never go to one by myself because as i was starting to imagine it like is is there anything more creepy no you're past the statute of limitations with that yeah you i think i think uh 16 years maybe maybe 18 years old you can do it like i'm imagining this guy loves bounce on trampoline so much and for the life of him like he's a sweet guy but he just wants to be double bounced so bad and you can't do that when you're by yourself so he's having to go for these kids hey will you guys double bounce me and like one kid's not enough so you're gathering like all the kids okay can you and your friend do you have someone else who's like your size do you think you guys could both double bounce me from each side and then just like it's not going no no okay are your
Starting point is 01:04:12 parents here like could someone i want to feel what it's like to get double bounce yeah you have like such sweet intentions of like not being creepy so you go really early in the morning just to find out that's when the toddler time is and so you're over there like skying high and there's like these little two year olds, like being scared to come close to you. You're like mad that they're not doing dodgeball. What? The website said at 10 a.m.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Dodgeball. I can mess some kids up. And honestly, I can take a half day of work off. If you get got dodgeball going, I could take the rest of the day off. How many, let's say they're four years old.
Starting point is 01:04:42 So how do you say, how many four year olds do you think you could beat in dodgeball? One versus them. Great question. A hundred. I'm trying to think. Yeah. Like how many?
Starting point is 01:04:54 I think, I think unlimited. Yeah. It might be unlimited just from the velocity of their throws. Cause you can just stay back far enough and just mow them down. Like, I don't think I would ever get out, but then, I mean, they could catch it. All it takes is one. Oh, you're right. One ricochet and you're done.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Because every once in a while, like Hattie and I play catch, but she puts her hands out there and I just throw it and she catches it and she does a pretty good job. Like she probably catches and all it takes is for one kid to accidentally have his arms like this. That's the thing. One ricochet up and then now it's an easy catch. So you have to throw it away that's like but it has to be the same kid that catches it or gets hit and catches
Starting point is 01:05:30 it right oh i don't know it can't like hit hattie and then bow catches it oh okay if that's off the table then i'm good i'm back to unlimited really i don't think the same kid is catching is like ricocheting and catching my ball what What if you're like so confident in this and then you go, like what if I'm like playing 100 four-year-olds and then I get out in like two minutes? That would be a bummer. Do you think,
Starting point is 01:05:54 where would you aim on their body? Oh, head. I mean, nose probably, right in the septum. Pretty vulnerable spot. Yeah. No, I'd probably go, I'd probably, I don i don't know they're so
Starting point is 01:06:06 tiny like you said about the catching thing like but but i feel like you go for the feet that's just a tough target because it's so easy to skip them on the feet but you have all day i'd probably go shoulders then i i'd go shoulder like they're not moving their arm up there quick enough to catch that now or maybe just straight straight in the chest oh no that's the last place you want to go but it feels so good to hit a four-year-old in the chest, let me tell you right now. I bet it does. With a dodgeball.
Starting point is 01:06:29 Now back on your idea, I think the head. You got to go just top of the head. Because you're not going to get a ricochet off the top of the head. And I'll tell you what, if you hit one four-year-old in the face... You strike fear in the rest. The rest of them are quitting immediately. I guarantee you Hattie would not want to stay in there. I'll just play soccer.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Oh my gosh, yeah. Okay, got that figured out. about five year olds okay what about six year olds i don't know the difference in uh i don't need a good thing i don't really know the difference in young children like how much they can progress in a year i have no clue that'd be fun fun to watch you play i'd pay money to have that the next reality game show i'm gonna try to get on it's like yeah jake versus 100 and it starts with three-year-olds and then four-year-olds then it's like ducks yeah and then it's just like really old people and then it goes back to children again i'd i'd watch the heck out of really old people if you were trying to mow down 100 old people or it's like a it's like a mile race and they only have to go like 10 yards at a time okay and then they get to like slap hands okay so my mile time has to be better than like all these old
Starting point is 01:07:30 people's like 10 yard dash time that's a good race that would be fun i would watch that too that would be that would be fun i like this idea normal jake versus 100 yeah well just old people specifically jake versus old anyone versus old Yeah. Just an average person versus an old person. A bunch of old people. I'd watch it. We need access to old people. We'll go to that church in Bolivar. My grandma lives in a retirement living home or whatever.
Starting point is 01:07:55 I don't know what they call it. It's like a community. And in their main lobby area, they have Wii bowling. And there's this plaque off off the side that says perfect games and then there's like a few different people that have had perfect games i look at it it's the same guy like five different times perfect game though i mean that's impressive yeah i don't care who you are so don't mess with the old people and we bowling don't do we bowling
Starting point is 01:08:18 uh brad over the last few weeks i've been jotting down some stuff. Okay. Isn't that cool? Yeah. And I'm going to tell you about it. It's celebrities who I always hear about, but I have no idea who they are. Oh, fun. So I have a short list of people, and I want us to either, you can either tell me, or we can just guess who they are. Perfect. Because these are like genuine, like who, I know very little about these people. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:08:41 Yeah. Great. Addison Rae? You don't know addison only because of that one time there was a random flag remember that yeah of course and they're like there's no way brad knows who that is i was like i really wanted to prove you wrong and i didn't so i don't know who that is she was on fallon this week oh good took some grief people didn't think she was as good as dancing as she should have been oh it was like a weird thing everyone's like
Starting point is 01:09:04 asperger's is popular she didn't even dance that good it was a weird thing and her jeans are so baggy it was wait is she a musician no why was she dancing that's her thing she blew up on tiktok so she danced oh she like did it like she did something fun she's just tiktok dancing with jimmy fallon okay i was thinking like she was getting interviewed and she was like walking out like addison ray she's like she didn't even dance that well like okay cool she's just walking to her chair oh okay i got you okay first celebrity that's the whole point of tiktok though is that they're all terrible at dancing the dances are like this roll the dice like like it's like i don't yeah like it's not it's like not cool choreographed stuff at all it's not cool i'm not cool enough no
Starting point is 01:09:45 first person first celebrity this one i truly have no idea who it is freddie prince jr who is that i know who that is really what does he do oh he was popular like the early 2000s i think for like a rom-com kind of guy um so actor yeah he's an actor sorry uh he was in scooby-doo i think okay one of the sco, he's an actor. Sorry. He was in Scooby-Doo, I think. Okay. One of the Scooby-Doo movies. Never saw that. He was a guest star on the last season of Friends.
Starting point is 01:10:11 Okay. He was like a big deal. A lot of girls had crushes on him. Okay. He was nice. Yeah. I think he was a cute, cute boy, but I don't know. Maybe like a Harry Connick Jr. type figure?
Starting point is 01:10:21 No. Like everyone's mom is kind of into him? No, no, no. Oh, he's young. He's younger he's yeah he was like a heartthrob for high school girls oh how old is this guy like my sister i feel like my sister thought he was cute um 35 40 years old oh my gosh yeah i thought he was way older no that's not that much older than me huh gosh we're getting old dude i don't know maybe he's 43 okay
Starting point is 01:10:40 our internet's out so we can't check no no way of checking comment below if you know how old freddie fpj is that was the big one maybe i should have ended with that one that one i mean i had no clue who that is i'm trying to think of like anything else that he's been in i don't know plenty you knew a lot about him next one bad bunny no idea yeah i don't know either it's a twitch twitch streamer probably i don't know i guess i think it's some sort of villain bad bunny like villain in like a oh oh yeah you don't know either i i'm forgetting i thought it was like a quiz kind of like who is this oh wow like he heard about him it's a person you think yeah yeah okay it's just oh bad bunny no i think honestly i do think this one's a musician but i get confused because i used to
Starting point is 01:11:24 think it was a female musician. Musician. Okay. But that's bad baby. That's catch me outside. Dr. Phil girl. Oh, her rapper name is bad baby.
Starting point is 01:11:31 Didn't know that either. So I always used to think bad bunny was her catch me outside. Now I've recently learned, Oh, bad bunnies. It's an entire new person. Wow. 70% sure it's a male, but not positive. Man. I have no, yeah, I've never heard of bad bunny.
Starting point is 01:11:44 Okay. So let us know who bad bunny is or just your wrong answers only in the comments of who who bad bunny is next one bad bunny is like uh an atheist on easter bad bunny bad bunny what are you doing here yeah wrong rabbit uh joy behar oh she's a musician really i hear that name pretty often i think she's old but I don't know who she is. I think it might be. I don't know. I'm not that confident about this, but I think it might be Joy Behar.
Starting point is 01:12:10 Okay. Maybe it's Behar. I don't know. I think she sings Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Hit me with your best shot. Yeah. I think so. What about?
Starting point is 01:12:22 I'd put $5 on that bet, though. I'm not very confident. Not my young Sheldon bet. Okay. That helps. Next one. These I know a little bit more, but still. Well, I'll just tell you.
Starting point is 01:12:36 This is a fun game. I like this. Demi Moore and Mandy Moore. Okay. Don't know the difference in them. Don't know what either of them are famous for. I just know that they're women who are famous. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:43 I don't even have an idea of their age. Like, is one of them hot? Are they both old? I don't know. Yes, to both. I don't know what either of them are famous for i just know that they're women who are famous okay i don't have an idea of their age like it's one of them hot are they both old i don't know yes to both i don't know who they are uh okay i don't think they're related first of all okay not that i know of dimmy moore uh married ashton kutcher that was okay like remember like she was like 45 he was 25 or whatever it was oh and then he did the same thing to mila kunis oh he's way younger than mila no he's like way older she was like 14 when it was oh and then he did the same thing to mila kunis oh he's way younger than mila no he's like way older she was like 14 when she was on that 70s show she lied about her age oh i didn't know that it's an interesting story oh wow um so anyway he married dimmy to me
Starting point is 01:13:16 whatever uh dmi uh i don't know what she's in honestly i don't know so dimmy more actress actress many more also actress. Also actress. Who I have to remember. Ah, I never saw it. I haven't either, to be honest, but it has a good soundtrack. Switchfoot. We have Christians now. I mean, anything Switchfoot's in, I'll listen to.
Starting point is 01:13:35 And she's recently kind of... Under fire? No. On top of fire? No, resurging, I guess. That's not the right word that I'm looking for. But she's in the new show, This Is Us. new i mean like five years old probably okay have you heard that i've heard of the show yeah yeah i haven't watched it but she's like a mom on the show so like okay
Starting point is 01:13:53 she's older now i thought she was cute she was like the like more clean-cut version of britney spears christina aguilera like she was in that she was in that time period and she had crappier songs than them but her song was like i'm actually that innocent yeah exactly and it was like just like yeah i really don't know a lot of these lyrics i'm singing i'm actually that innocent i said in like hit me baby when i'm 18 that was her other song her other big song that was 21 and she's talking about when she's going to the casino yeah yeah one time for me um but yeah i had a crush on her back in the day oh how was it it was fine who else um hillary dove no i was never scott scott loved hillary i don't see it i'll text scott about hillary you like her yeah uh i mean kelly
Starting point is 01:14:39 kapowski and topanga are like the biggest you know know, yeah. Boy Meets World saved by the bell. Um, what about Lola bunny? Have you heard about, talk about a bad bunny? Have you heard about space jam too? How she's going to be like, they like de-sexualized her. Yeah. Yeah. Which everyone's like, come on. You didn't make the bunny. Which just shows how you feel about her from the first one. It's like, I want my animated bunny to have curves. This isn't right. I don't get it. Why is this bunny over-sexualized? It's a kids movie for crying out loud. This is disgusting to me. Come on. A grown man.
Starting point is 01:15:13 I'm trying to think of other ones. I don't know. She was a bad bunny. But definitely Manny Moore. I liked Evangeline Lilly from Lost. Kate from Lost. Her first name was Evangeline? Evangeline. Evangeline. Evangeline, maybe. Yeah. I thought she was really cute. Kate from Lost. Her first name was Evangeline. Evangeline. Evangeline. Evangeline, maybe. Yeah. Evangelizing.
Starting point is 01:15:26 I thought she was really cute. She sounds great. Hermione Granger. Maybe. I was always like, Emma Watson. Wow, that's cool. Because she's like our age. So it was like when first Harry Potter came out, we were the same age as Hermione.
Starting point is 01:15:42 So it was like, that's kind of cool. Because everyone else is like, I could never get that girl. But you're like, I. But it's like, she's our age. All I got to gotta do is meet her that's how i felt with hayden panettiere remember the titans oh yes i was like i'm that fifth grader in the crowd yeah cheering on football i love a sporty girl right yeah yeah i should dm her you never know you never oh my internet's out okay oh shoot some people have a foot fetish no no your mistress you want to share a mattress okay i have one more okay and this one i kind of know but well but kind of not okay okay i know it's a superhero but that's where it starts and stops the flash green lantern oh sure that's all i know too i think it is the most like when i think about it like this is the dumbest thing like for a superhero they were thinking either should we go green lantern or like red barn door just like a color it's simple noun one of my land two of my sea green lantern
Starting point is 01:16:30 is the name of a superhero yeah i don't know i don't know why he's batman superman the hulk they also got uh what about you're forgetting green lantern uh please give me my respect uh you still have the original comic book please don't forget green lantern i can't believe that's a superhero and i maybe he's cool i don't know anything about him dude there's a superhero called ant-man you heard about that one is it paul rudd yeah apparently it's like a really funny movie yeah but i don't i don't have any interest in watching two hours worth of ant-man yeah your name is ant-man uh pick a bigger animal. Out of all of them. Yeah. Le Jaguar, man. Le Jaguar, man. That would be a cool one.
Starting point is 01:17:08 Le Caiman. Le Caiman. That's already a superhero, basically. That sounds good. But Green Lantern? Just white lamp. Plastic bottle. I think Green Lantern. Tooth enamel. Thin rim glasses. Hubcap you find on the
Starting point is 01:17:24 side of the highway man man spare hubcap man appointment man he's very punctual never misses a date yeah excel man recycle cardboard man cool yeah green lantern i think i think there's a there's a green lantern tv show on netflix that a lot of people love. Really? I don't. Is Stephen Kershaw doing the soundtrack or? I would watch it. If so, I would. Yeah, I would support him.
Starting point is 01:17:50 Otherwise, I'd walk to remember. No, I don't get into superhero stuff. I don't. I don't get it. I really like Batman, but that's about as far as I go. I've never seen the Avengers. Yeah. Batman doesn't really feel like a superhero ish movie to me.
Starting point is 01:18:04 You're talking about like the Dark Knight specifically yeah yeah yes I'm talking about the Dark Knight where's Rachel that good I wasn't the best let me let me try again where is she oh that was good was it I've never done Batman before let's do one more no or stop on your head yeah maybe I go coach take me out take me out in my first shot i'm trying to think of something he would say um it's so funny that like no one in that what about this what about this light it up whatever they do the thing like they like set the lake on fire like the frozen lake and then the batman signal bat signal i think is what they call it the batman the batman signal fire the batman uh luminescence i think it symbolizes that you're a batman signal bat signal i think is what they call it the batman the batman signifier the batman uh luminescence what's it called symbolizes that you're a batman the thing that the commissioner
Starting point is 01:18:50 puts up in the clouds because you know that you're a batman and you should help and you yeah you should do that thing remember that you're a vigilante they call you batman with the light anyway but batman doesn't feel like as much of a superhero movie because he's like a real person like i don't like the idea of like morphing into something. Oh, there it goes. We haven't talked about that yet. Here, let me hold it up. Let's get back.
Starting point is 01:19:15 We'll get back to Batman here. Thanks a lot. So Brad had the idea like a long time ago to fancy up our podcast studio. I mean, it was like in the original plans with the new walls, the new shelving. We're going to have these nice like kind of abstract cut out of wood. G.R. Casey. Turn yours. Brad's got the G.R.
Starting point is 01:19:37 There you go. And I have the KC. You can see him now on YouTube. Yeah. And Brad brought him over today. We put some of Isaac's tape on the back and it's really strong tape it's good tape it is it's my wall's fault yeah it's my wall's fault the wood's fine the tape's great it didn't hold mine didn't hold from the get-go brad's been holding strong for an hour and then it just went down we'll figure it we'll screw it in somehow
Starting point is 01:20:01 anyway superheroes batman so funny that no one knows it's bruce wayne just because he changes his voice it's just like hi surely somebody's got to be like where's bruce yeah i never seem to see bruce and all these things he should be at but the batman's here just talking hey harvey harvey where's harvey dude where's rachel it's so funny it's like hard not to just laugh at it now that i'm thinking about it like what is that dude don't ruin don't ruin that don't ruin that i know it's my only it's like i love it but now that i'm thinking about like that is so funny gosh bane he's a villain he comes from the streets i don't know why it's just not Don Don. You don't want to mess with him.
Starting point is 01:20:49 You've never thought about it before? I've never really thought about it like this. Just how funny it is. Like his voice is just... Does he have like a modifier on it or does he just change his voice? I don't know. It has to hurt his voice. Eventually he's like, oh, sorry. Just a second. We gotta get the Joker.
Starting point is 01:21:04 All of Gotham will be underground um i don't protect gotham oh i wish we had the internet i wanted to look up some quotes from batman i don't already have it downloaded bummer i don't have a document oh man what time where is she that's a fun that's a fun game i should play that game with uh yeah just pop culture people and you could tell me actually like you probably know so many more of them let's start doing that okay like just from game i should play that game with uh yeah just pop culture people and you could tell me actually like you probably know so many more of them let's start doing that okay like just from here on out just like whenever you get to like six or seven then it's time to share like on a scale of one to ten in the world how popular you think addison ray is she's pretty up there like 10 she's like
Starting point is 01:21:37 uh eight and a half like would she be considered a list it's tough to gauge tiktok stars i don't know it's like kanye west kim kard don't know. So like Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, LeBron James. They're like tens. They're like 11s really. I would say even,
Starting point is 01:21:51 yeah, so yeah, she's probably lower because even David Dobrik is probably like a nine. Okay. So Addison Rae is probably like... I just learned about David Dobrik
Starting point is 01:21:58 like a week ago. Not really. Probably like a couple months ago. Everyone kept posting about this thing when he was giving away that Tesla. That's the first time I ever heard about this. Oh, right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:07 Either way, hey, Addison, if you're listening, come on the show. We'd love to have you. Yeah, I'd love to learn more about you. So like, where are you from? So like, what's up? Yeah. You ever seen Green Lantern movies? What do you do in your free time?
Starting point is 01:22:21 You don't really dance very well? You man in the house? Yeah. That's good. No. One last thing I want to talk about. I think, I mean,
Starting point is 01:22:28 I got a lot of stuff written down, but this could be the last thing. It's about to be that time. I'm going to put it on everyone's radar because we can all enjoy the comments together. About a year ago this time, I talked about how just like no one was happy for, at least it seemed like no one was happy for me.
Starting point is 01:22:40 And, you know, I announced we're going on tour. Look at all these cities. Yeah. And we're just like, what? Oh, no suburbs of Boise. on no salem missouri people are so upset no suburbs of boise come on just downtown the greater boise area the metropolitan area boise
Starting point is 01:22:59 come on come on where's toledo You have to come to Toledo. Come on. Northern Sacramento? Johnson City? It's in Wagon Wheel. Come on. You're just not honoring Wagon Wheel cities. I thought you were a musical, Alan. Chesapeake?
Starting point is 01:23:17 Chesapeake? Come on. Any of them. I don't even know what Chesapeake is. But you gotta come to Chesapeake. You gotta. The Bermuda Triangle in the Midwest. Edmond, Oklahoma.
Starting point is 01:23:28 Come on. I'm in no way happy for you. I'm just upset. Right. You're not coming to Albany. Dothan, Alabama. Come on. It's on the open up.
Starting point is 01:23:39 Get to Fairhope. Yeah. Jackson Hole. Come on. It's one of the biggest cities outside of yellowstone you gotta perform at jackson hole everyone outside of yellowstone usually goes to jackson they've been to go the bathroom there it's a flag staff flag staff i understand you're already at scottsdale and phoenix but not flag staff i mean, not even Sedona. Just give me some don'ts. Don'ts.
Starting point is 01:24:09 Topeka! It's the capital of the best Kansas, the best state in the very middle of the United States. God, come on. John Brown would be rolling in his grave right now. Springdale? Come on! Come on! It's the live blood of the natural state. rolling in his grave right now. Springdale? Why not? Come on.
Starting point is 01:24:28 It's the live blood of the natural state. It's pretty close to the headquarters of Walmart. I tell you what. What else we got? Franklin, Tennessee? I think it might be where the company's based out of. It's still come to it. Oh, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 01:24:42 Like Franklin Batting Gloves, maybe? Ben Johns? Ben Johns will be there. Oh, I didn't know that. Like Franklin Batting Gloves, maybe. Ben Johns? Ben Johns will be there. Oh, man. So that's what we have to look forward to this week. We're announcing the tour on Wednesday. I just edited the video, the promo video, right before this. And tickets go on sale Friday.
Starting point is 01:24:59 So get your tickets. I think they're going to go fast. We're coming to 40. No. I think it's 38 cities, 44 shows. Wow. Big time. 38 cities, 44 shows.
Starting point is 01:25:11 And I am willing to bet, and maybe I'm wrong, maybe you can't do this, but I bet some of those shows are going to get double booked. Like you're going to do two in a row. They are. Yeah. So I think like anywhere where there's like a smaller venue. Yeah. Like two in St. Louis, two in Asheville.
Starting point is 01:25:25 Like they're already planning on doing two. Yeah. Already haven't booked. Is that, so is that part of your 44 shows or is that? Yeah, that's planning. That's why it's 38 cities,
Starting point is 01:25:32 44 shows. But my guess is Phoenix is going to double up or some, you know, whatever, fill in the blank. If we add some shows, I think you're gonna add some shows. That'd be cool.
Starting point is 01:25:41 Yeah. Randomly. Uh, there's a suburb of Detroit called Royal Oak and the venue already holds like like 1400 people and we're doing three shows in royal oak i'm like what well i'm just shocked i'm like you would think that would be like dallas austin houston where we're doing like royal oak i've heard royal oak it's in michigan which makes sense page qco maybe cute shows good shows i don't know how to pronounce your last name i'm so sorry kuko she's from Michigan
Starting point is 01:26:05 the governor and CNN guy mayor you guys know New Yorkers know New Albany and I think I mentioned this probably 10 months ago but I want to try and hook up our $15 patrons especially the ones who've been rocking with us from the get go so like
Starting point is 01:26:24 holler at me if there's a city in your area. And I think there's a good chance I can get like you and a plus one to come to a show if we're coming to your area. But holler quick, right? Yeah. As quick as possible. Let me know, yeah, on Wednesday, I guess.
Starting point is 01:26:36 And we'll get it going. Cool. Yeah, it's exciting. I can't wait to just blast the comment section. Just be so frustrated. I think, yeah, that could be a thing. Or maybe is there a way to be more creative than just doing the joke that we've already done? Like, or I think the ghost runners, like whenever I post about it, ghost runners, I give you
Starting point is 01:26:54 full permission. Just go crazy with like all the things you're not getting. Or maybe we could troll the people that actually don't get the joke. And like, like they, they're like, what? Come on. You were like like reply to them like no columbus seriously he's not even coming to silver dollar city yeah like a specific part of a city exactly he's not even seeing the world's biggest ball of twine right exactly like i know i
Starting point is 01:27:15 can't believe it i've already called his mom about this he's coming on salt lake city and not performing in a temple right team leader that come on actually we're not performing for the lds out there we're not coming to salt lake city this tour but probably the spring but you're going to provo probably no no provo gosh i know park cities at least that's i think that's i'm about tapped out of ogden i think moab moab springdale that's the city you talk. Nice. Lindor, I think. I think that's where Andy Blue lives. Luke. No internet. Is that California?
Starting point is 01:27:49 California. Is it like on? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It's close to Utah. I'll tell you, wearing sunglasses with headphones doesn't feel good. I've been doing it for an hour and a half. I don't know how PFT does it, dude.
Starting point is 01:27:59 I'm done. I can't do it anymore. Okay. Should we get some voice memos that I've pre-downloaded because we don't have internet? Yeah. Isaac, have you fixed the internet? Oh, it's not over there anymore.
Starting point is 01:28:10 This is still blinking red, so guess not. Oh, hey, dude. Oh, hey, Isaac. Jake and Brad, what's up? It's Caleb. Braden's friend, so no friend of Brad's, I know. So me and Braden, we ended up doing a game, and we were betting on marbles in a marble run,
Starting point is 01:28:32 of which marble would make it down first. And I ended up losing. So as the good friends we are, whenever we do a game like this, we have a punishment for the other. So my punishment is I have to be a salesman allegedly a salesman and go to one of my neighbors and knock on their door and act like I'm selling a product and that product Braden chose for me just so happens to be bikini wax a bikini wax that's a good product now I need your guys help in my sales pitch of how should I sell this bikini wax.
Starting point is 01:29:07 Because if I get them to say they will buy this, I get a free pass and Braden has to do my next punishment. Give me some good lines. That is a lot riding on a marble game. I was going to say, and... I would get the heaviest darn marble I could find in that game. Grease that baby up and let her fly. Yeah. Get some wax on there if
Starting point is 01:29:26 i'm understanding this correctly if he somehow in the world successfully convinces a grown adult to buy bikini wax from a high schooler his like reward is like i i get a pass on the next one okay good job you should get a thousand dollars there's no way you're gonna get anyone to buy this from you from door to door there's no way i mean that's probably what people said about this really high in cleaner but and then they got me and i sold two of them to some suckers in over the park that's a good point that's a good i mean oj would have gotten away with it if he used this um i mean i think uh what does he want the tip some tips i don't know how to sell it like what's his pitch you gotta have a good name like uh like call it like hey this is max in your bikini wax
Starting point is 01:30:10 like that's the name of the company max's wax max's waxes max wax hey i'm jackson flax and waxing that's good yeah have like have like a hey jackson jackson max and waxing i'm jackson plaxton waxing what's cracking uh i think like obviously like the the hair gets like stripped off of you when you wax you show it to them look like my arm and it can do it with ease so you call it stripped ease okay hey you want some striptease you're the man of the house you want striptease that's good dimmy more i'm pretty sure there's a connection there too i think that's good i think you try to play on their emotional side as a salesman good in this instance not normally but in this time you're going to need some magic some of god's magic here yes and you say hey so here's the deal um i got a little bit of i'm here to sell you
Starting point is 01:31:03 something today but just to give you a little background, I've unfortunately fell in a little bit of, a little bit of trouble with the law. They're doing this new program with high schoolers. I don't know what the name of it would be. Just like, it doesn't matter. I'll come over later.
Starting point is 01:31:17 We'll call it, we'll call it, no, nevermind. Go ahead. I couldn't think of anything good. The court is doing this thing where, basically,
Starting point is 01:31:25 if I sell bikini wax, then I don't have to be someone's bikini wax in prison. So anyway, do you want to buy some bikini wax? Like it was really helped me out. If you don't buy it, then like, yeah,
Starting point is 01:31:38 they show you have a picture. This is Raul. He's going to be my cellmate and he's going to make me into bikini wax. So can you please, can you please buy some wax? Just scare tactic. Yeah, fear tactic. Pathos all day. That's what I would suggest.
Starting point is 01:31:53 I like it. You need a mug shot with you. This is going to be my waxer. I mean, I think the best thing is to just make sure you can model it well. So just wax yourself all over, and then just come as scantily clad as you can imagine and just show off every way it works. You say you should see me swim. That's right.
Starting point is 01:32:14 Like a torpedo. Yeah, that's the only, you wear a speedo and then you wear like 16 medals around your neck. And you're like, before Max and Wax? Zero medals. Before Striptease, I didn't have a single one of these. So if you're looking to swim better or make your swimmers better, get the bikini wax. That's right.
Starting point is 01:32:32 I think that's good. I think that's plenty. All right. I hope that helps. Hey, Jake and Brad. Paige here, the Christopher Nolan Defender. I was listening back to your episode where Maggie talked about loving dessert and celebrations. And I was thinking about if I had a dating profile, what would my two basic things and two interesting things about myself be?
Starting point is 01:32:53 I love tacos and I would rather be on a beach right now, my basic ones. And then interestingly, I am a classically trained opera singer and I played 10 different sports for at least a season growing up. So what would your two interesting things be and your two basic things about yourself on your dating profile? Brad, I know you're already married, but like, it's just for fun. The second thing is I've been recently interested in describing things poorly. I think it's really funny. So, um, for my job, I'm a music teacher. So describing it poorly, I would say I hang out with nine to 11 year olds all day and we just make weird sounds.
Starting point is 01:33:29 So yeah. Describe your jobs poorly. I think it could be fun. I love the podcast. You guys are hilarious. Uh, keep doing you. Thanks. Bye.
Starting point is 01:33:36 Bye. I think that's a fun thing to like, that's hard to do on the spot though. Like you have to really, yeah. Okay. Like what are you doing in Phoenix next week? I'm just going with, uh, one of my buddies and a little kid uh to watch one of our friends a pianist to go to tickle tickle some ivories tickle some ivories yeah it's arizona so people are paying to see it yeah um yeah i'm sure there's a funny way to talk about my job like yeah someone's like what do you do for a living i so i will go over this guy's house usually once his wife leaves yeah and i will film
Starting point is 01:34:11 him uh and he pays me money and occasionally he's dressed in women's clothing that's how i'm describing it and we post on the internet then we sell it to other people yeah yeah and you'd be surprised how many companies went in on this film one today yeah yeah draft kings uh draft queens hello mattress mistress how would you describe your job oh i i just so i take uh dry pieces of tree and uh just throw them together and make them a little bit smaller and then uh people take them take them from uh where i work to their house and sit on them that's a good poor discussion yeah i guess i don't know they sit on the old trees yeah i take trees they'll put food on top of them sometimes um some people even put tvs on top of them you know i don't know it's your tree it's your tree so uh okay and first question
Starting point is 01:35:04 what was it? The dating profile thing. Oh, okay. Paige, I don't know if you were looking for advice, but stick to the interesting ones. You don't need two basic, two interesting. Go four for four interesting. Yeah. Because your two interesting ones are phenomenal.
Starting point is 01:35:15 You think so? You think though four for four? Because then I think by the fourth interesting thing, you might be like, she's kind of weirdo. Like, does she like enjoy enjoy normal things she's like no no i like the beach too i'm a normal person if we if we want to go on vacation i'll still go to the beach with you i would not be turned off by four interesting things but maybe other guys would really maybe they want to see that beach that taco in there like i think it's interesting about the opera thing but it's also like okay that might signal that you have a weird upbringing a little
Starting point is 01:35:44 theater like maybe you weren't allowed to eat tacos as a kid you know and then the next answer oh i love tacos and patios okay she's normal she's all right figure out figure out figure out figure it out figure it out interesting things about me i don't know yeah what would your profile be i've literally never gone to the space in my head yeah no that's fair let me go first while you think thanks so i've been there before and i've done both sides of it like one was like yeah i want to jump off the page right but then that didn't last very long because i don't like people knowing stuff about me before they've met me like there was one prompt it's like two truths and a
Starting point is 01:36:19 lie you know so i'm putting on there i've been on the today show i've been on ellen and i've been on something else i haven't been on you know that's a lie But then I was like all right I think I'm just like showing off and I don't want them to find that about me later I was like how much is it a braggadocious thing versus how much is it just like a normal? Fact about you. Yeah, so then I stopped and now I just try to be funny. You know or whatever right like the arson thing Technically it's not arson. Oh, was gonna say i know i've talked about this before yeah when facebook came out dating yeah yeah just like yeah i don't know basic would
Starting point is 01:36:52 be like i play guitar non-basic i play mandolin uh figaro nickel creek um i don't know dude i'm i'm basic dude no i mean you could just you could find things about your personality that aren't like braggy just like uh i have a casual resume yeah yeah i um i have two kids and a wife that's like kind of a fun fact yeah that's usually a red flag for some but you'd be surprised you never know right weekend right person's in town i can quote all of fill in the blank movie no no too braggy really yeah i think it just shows that you really like that kind of movie maybe no you disagree it's fine i disagree i don't know i don't know yeah tell me more things that i could write i don't know i mean i think i would just rely on humor like, like misdirection stuff rather than like an
Starting point is 01:37:48 actual interesting fact about yourself. Just like, um, I've tried to think what I said in the old, like that video where I did the Facebook thing. Cause I, you know, I don't know. Just like, Oh, favorite travel destination, Chile. Not to be confused with Chile. I would like to go to Chili's bar and grow with you. Yeah. Stuff like that. Just like, it's a little bit of a personality, but mainly it's just me being a goof. chile not to be confused with chile i would like to go to chile's bar and grow with you yeah
Starting point is 01:38:05 stuff like that just like it's a little bit of a personality but mainly just right me being a goof being a goofy being a goof i think i would take a different approach i think i would just like kind of like a job interview like i want to i want to just figure out any way i can to just like get to the interview and then once then once i'm in the interview i can charm you and stuff. But, but initially I'm just going to not jump off the page. I'm just going to let the baby blues talk for themselves. Like I have green eyes. I don't know. Um, okay. Well, I don't know. I, yeah, I don't know. I'll be interested to hear what girls look for in those kinds of things. Cause
Starting point is 01:38:41 I genuinely have never had to think about this kind of stuff. And so I'm like, I wonder if girls want something like that or if they're just like looking at the picture. Yeah, maybe they don't even care. And they're like, oh, he likes dogs too. Oh, cool. Or, oh, he's... We're gonna get along so well. He's a piano player. I don't want to mess with that. Been there, done that. That's right. No, thanks. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:00 So... Oh, well. But yeah. Thanks, Paige. We're interesting people. Yeah, we're good. We're fine. Hey, Jake, well. But yeah. Thanks, Paige. We're interesting people. Yeah, we're good. We're fine. Hey, Jake and Brad. It's Ryan here from Oklahoma. Oh, yeah. I was listening to this week's podcast and I noticed you guys mentioned Now You See Me 1 and 2.
Starting point is 01:39:17 Personally, those were one of my favorite movies. Oh, no. You know, I had to watch them on VidAngel, though, because it it is not good language if you know what I mean but I was just wondering what kind of movies did you think the second or the third were better than the first because I feel like
Starting point is 01:39:36 now you see me two was much better than one so tell me what you guys think and what you think is better thanks bye bye you sound like a sweet kid Oh, Ryan. Thanks. Bye bye. Oh, Ryan. You sound like a sweet kid, but that's too bad.
Starting point is 01:39:52 But you're wrong. But that's too bad. You think the second one's better than the first one. OK, I have I have a sequel in mind. I think it's like the obvious like, oh, this one is so much better. Everyone knows this one rather than the first. And we're going to say the same time. No, we're not.
Starting point is 01:40:04 You don't have to think of it. Wait, it's obvious. I think so. It's the first thing I think of when everyone says like oh You know number two. It's like oh, yeah, that one is so much better That's the only one you hear people talk about I've heard you quote it before sure I have with Scott with Scott Oh, it's good. Oh dumb and dumber now Okay, I'll just say it to myself on the count of three. One, two, three. Shanghai Nights. Oh, I was thinking of that.
Starting point is 01:40:30 You were close for Shanghai. Dang it. I didn't think that was like a commonly placed thing. But yes, Rush Hour 2 is... I don't know if it's better, but it's good. It's better. 80 years over here, no one talks about Rush Hour. Oh, I like Rush Hour. Rush Hour 2 is so good.
Starting point is 01:40:42 Don't touch a black man's radio. Yeah. Buttercream, buttercream. Let's go in. What size is the waist let's go in crock skin cross um girls got class um yeah that was a good one yeah anything with jackie chan really it's getting better as this as the trilogy goes on you know shanghai nights versus shanghai noon okay I think, I don't know if I'm saying like they're better two and three, but I think Toy Story just, Toy Story's consistent, man. It's just good. Toy Story 2 is pretty good. It was very good.
Starting point is 01:41:11 I like, I haven't seen all the fourth one, like I said, but I like Toy Story a lot. I thought Shrek 2 was pretty solid. Remember that one? Yes. I actually remember thinking like the theater being like, see it? I owned it. I remember thinking that is the funniest movie when i left shrek 2 in theaters really i thought it was so i can't remember the plot very well
Starting point is 01:41:30 but i remember we had a puss in boots oh sure he like gets arrested shrek turns into a real man for a second yes yes really yes i thought fiona is as shrek lady the ogre lady the whole time i think so but shrek is a real man i can't even imagine it oh it's nice let me look at uh yeah can't later oh i can't wait to google it later wow that's boggling my mind real man shrek real man he was a real man what do you look like um i mean like streck but just like just a big like i'm imagining shaquille o'neal that you he looked like Shaq? Handsome man. No, he looked more like...
Starting point is 01:42:06 Like Prince Charming. You know who Luka Garza is? Yeah. Kind of like Luka Garza, but cuter. He looked like Luka Garza. I don't know if that's a very good description. Wow. Why can I not imagine?
Starting point is 01:42:15 Here I am thinking like, oh, I love this movie. I still remember this, and I can't remember Shrek Man. Because there's like a fairy godmother in it? That's a good superhero, by the way. Shrek Man. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:24 He would take it to Grand Lantern. There's a fairy godmother in it that's a good super hero by the way struck man yeah he would take it take it to grand man there's a fairy godmother in there yeah she sings uh first i was afraid i was petrified yes and it's raining men oh hot yeah that's a good movie yeah i mean the first one's so good yeah the second one's great too post and boots is getting arrested and they find catnip on him he goes oh that's not mine. I don't know. I was 13 or whatever. And I'd like seen cops before. It's like, dang, that's a good show, which is not that great of a joke.
Starting point is 01:42:51 But to me, it was pretty funny. That's a movie. Yeah. Yeah. I also like. Let's see. Home Alone 2 is just as good as Home Alone 1. That's a great point.
Starting point is 01:43:02 Godfather 2. I just recently watched for the first time never saw those um both really good i hear the third one's not that good uh i don't know prison break season two was nice sure trust me season two is always when it hits its stride i feel like sometimes sometimes what show is it recently i mean parks and rec didn't get good until halfway through season two there's some show i watched recently that like the first season was based on a book and so it was like phenomenal and then anything past that it was like we're just kind of coming up with it now and it's like not as good anymore because it's not like from a popular high castle
Starting point is 01:43:37 was that a book i never watched the second season i've never even heard of that oh who's in it i think you would like it i think you would like it it's a amazon prime it's like their most popular show i feel like oh okay uh but it's like if germany would have won world war ii oh kind of interesting sounds like a like a sketch video like a comedy yeah huh okay uh i'm sure there's more but yeah well ryan thanks for the question that's one question yeah appreciate it hey jake and brad I can't believe I'm actually leaving you a voice memo. My name is Talisa. Believe it. And I consider myself an OG ghostie.
Starting point is 01:44:10 I literally just paused this week's episode so I could leave this voice memo because I cannot contain my excitement about the fact that I could possibly see both of you in Phoenix. Oh. Trey who? Am I right? Anyways. That's right. My question for you's right do you get
Starting point is 01:44:26 paid more if we listen all the way through the ads i mean i'm 100 happy listening all the way through if it means more money in your pocket so i'm interested to know the answer i would just like to give a shout out to my sister who just made me an aunt my precious niece harper is amazing and i want to shout out and say I love you to my boys, Rylan and Cohen, who listen with me every Monday morning. Thanks, guys. Okay, so I'm confused. Why is she going to meet us
Starting point is 01:44:53 in Phoenix? I think she had the show. I think she just maybe I interpreted it as she was expecting to see you. She wasn't expecting to see the dude. Oh, okay. The dude. Yeah. Okay, so she's coming to see the do. Oh, okay. The do. Yeah. Okay. So she's coming to a show.
Starting point is 01:45:07 That's my guess. Talissa. Yeah. That's my context guess. See there. Talissa is a cool name. Talissa is a cool name. If you, if Talissa makes a shirt that says Trey who, and on the back of it says, I heart ghost runners, I'll give you a hug.
Starting point is 01:45:20 If you do something like that, if anybody at the show, especially because she's listening to this on Monday and the show's on Wednesday. Younesday about 48 hours to make it happen oh my gosh i would upgrade your seats to vip so you're front row if you're a hugger if you're a hugger i'll hug you if you know whatever if you're not i'll give you a virtual high five but that would be amazing trey who trey who i came for and on the back i know i don't know what they say i came for the, and on the back, I never, I never, let's say I came for the ghostwriters. I came for the penis. Just say I heart ghostwriters. I heart ghostwriters. I heart Jake and Brad, whatever.
Starting point is 01:45:52 That's awesome. Yeah. Okay. And if you're, if you're in a whole party, like if you have a bunch of people with you, it'd be even better. Just a bunch of Trey Hoos. Like they each get one letter. And so when you first see it, it looks like, oh, wow, you guys spelled out Trey.
Starting point is 01:46:03 And it's like, wait, no, it spells out Trey whoy who question mark there's eight of you yeah got him nailed it oh that's fun though i'm excited to i hope to meet some people that'd be fun oh yeah it'll be great be some ghosties there gosh do i have to wear a jean jacket is that a thing you have to wear a jean jacket yes gotcha and something from zoomies isaac should we go should we go to goodwill and get some jean jackets? That would be funny. What if we all go like, or should I dress up like Santo? Santo Mac? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:33 Like what if we all just dressed up in like costume? In a character? Yeah. That would be great. It's like this like dingy club. Who's performing here tonight? This guy's pretty good, huh? Do more jokes about your dog hey hey lady how you getting home no i don't want you to come over me i want you to i want to get you in the back seat i want you to get behind the steering wheel of my zamiati okay
Starting point is 01:46:59 dang it i nailed it good pickup line oh that's what i think either come in characters or i just tell you what i'm gonna be dressed as and you just all dress up as close you can to me yeah kind of like wearing like a jersey to a ku game like you wear a ku jersey to the game like no i just i'm gonna do a jersey swap with the comedian tonight oh we should do a jersey swap afterwards oh that'd be great okay okay cool and then i'll like put your like size small jean jacket on me. Hey, it's a large. Size large. Still would look ridiculous on me.
Starting point is 01:47:32 Isaac's over in the corners laughing. I can't wait to see what you guys, whatever you come up with, don't tell me. I have a feeling it's going to be normal stuff, but we'll see. Regardless, you guys should get there early enough to see the ghosties that are maybe there for the early show in phoenix you know like see them as they're coming out okay maybe yeah it'd be fun or just you know you come up early and then no one recognizes you or maybe all right cool yeah we're not we're not early maybe i'm gonna do like kind of like a street performance like you know how you like play guitar on the street corner i'm just gonna do
Starting point is 01:48:00 comedy on the street corner yeah and but i'm just gonna be like random ghost runners references i'm just gonna stand there so with a hat like with like you know like so people can give me money like a poopsie hat on your feet and just wait for people and i said no no no no i said on your feet on your feet i said if that's not my dough then i don't want her i bagged my dough and just stick it out. Anybody? Anybody? Anybody? Anybody get it? You sure you're a Catholic? Anyone? Okay. Resonating with anybody?
Starting point is 01:48:28 Okay, maybe some new listeners. Maybe some new listeners. Tie my dog to a trampoline. Anybody? Anybody? Yeah. You'll make $200? That could be fun.
Starting point is 01:48:38 Great battle. Great battle. Yeah. It's going to be awesome. Okay. What'd she ask at the end? I don't think she did. Shout out Harper.
Starting point is 01:48:48 Just shout out Harper. Baby Harp. Okay. Was there a question in there at all? Let's see. Let's pull this back up. Oh, yes. It was about the ads.
Starting point is 01:48:56 Oh, that's right. That's right. So I don't know the answer to this question. I would guess like, you know, Instagram has a thing where like once you've watched something for three seconds, it counts as a view on Instagram. Oh, really? You know, every website has a thing where like once you've watched something for three seconds it counts as a view on instagram oh youtube you know every website has a different threshold like youtube might be 10 seconds i don't know exactly okay but you have to watch it for a certain amount of time before it counts as like a view or an impression so i would guess that ads are maybe the same way i just don't know what that threshold is like i don't know if it's just
Starting point is 01:49:20 like skipping over it is good enough yeah i don't know if it's three seconds i don't know if it's just like skipping over it is good enough. Yeah. I don't know if it's three seconds. I don't know if it's five. So, I mean, you can, when it boils down to it, if, if it's like, I don't want to listen. Like this is impeding on my,
Starting point is 01:49:31 uh, enjoyment of this podcast. Just fast forward. Yeah. Skip it. Yeah. It's fine. We're not making that much money off of this stuff.
Starting point is 01:49:38 No. Honestly, if you want to support us, you know, join us on Patreon. That's the big way. Cause then you get something out of it. Right.
Starting point is 01:49:44 Yeah. Skip the ads and join us on Patreon. Yeah. If you're looking to support us some way, I mean, you know, join us on Patreon. That's the big way. Cause then you get something out of it. Right. Yeah. Skip the ads and join us on Patreon. Yeah. If you're looking to support us some way, I mean, you can, I think it does probably make a little bit of a difference, but who knows?
Starting point is 01:49:52 It's, it's not, it's not so much of a difference that it's like, it's not gonna be anything crazy. Do people must've really listened to all our ads this week. Whoa. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:01 So that's very kind of you, but don't worry about it. Yeah. And anything, I mean the YouTube ads though, that are like eight minutes long. Oh, you that's very kind of you. But don't worry about it. Yeah. And I think I mean, the YouTube ads, though, that are like eight minutes long. Oh, you have to watch all those. No, you don't watch us either. But thanks for caring.
Starting point is 01:50:14 Hi, Jake and Brad. My name is Abby. I'm a first time caller from Utah. I'm calling this week because I'm actually celebrating a birthday on April 1st. And as you know, April 1st is April Fool's Day. So a lot of the times when I am with friends or coworkers for the first time, they don't believe me. And I end up not being able to celebrate my birthday because they think it's a prank or it's a joke. And so it's the most
Starting point is 01:50:35 frustrating thing ever. And so I was wondering, one, if you guys have ever had an experience where you're telling the truth or you firmly believe something and nobody believes you. And so you can relate to me or two, if you guys can come up with a funny comeback or joke, I could say in response to them, not believing me. Awesome. You guys are great. I absolutely love the podcast. I'm spreading the word here in Utah. Keep up the good work. Appreciate that. I just looked at your shirt and realized how ridiculous we look. It's like, like, it just flushes us out so much. My face per capita.
Starting point is 01:51:07 I feel like I have more faces and yours are just like, well, Jake, that's kind of just us. Okay. You take up a little bit less room on the, on the shirt. All right.
Starting point is 01:51:16 And I have a bigger shirt too. Okay. You're right. I feel like your shirt's a little bit heavier than mine and like takes up more space on your body. Why is there more surface area i don't get it yeah we both packed five shirts why is your bag so heavy gosh that's weird katherine will do that sometimes you'll be like gosh you packed pretty heavy today and i was like these are my clothes it's because i have a size 42 waist babe i'm trying to drink more water it's not gonna happen overnight not gonna happen overnight all and I was like, these are my clothes. It's because I have a size 42 waist, babe.
Starting point is 01:51:46 I'm trying to drink more water. It's not going to happen overnight. It's not going to happen overnight. All right. My room wasn't built in one day. Just call me a roll, Brutus. All right. Anyway, we do look so ridiculous.
Starting point is 01:52:00 Yeah, these shirts are great. Shout out. Shout out. And they're like sporty. And so I really think we should wear them if we play pickleball in Phoenix. Anything. And just don't make eye contact with anybody while we play. They'd be like, don't say anything.
Starting point is 01:52:16 Are you guys going to show shirts? Oh. Oh, what? I guess. Or just say no. No? No. Or what do you mean?
Starting point is 01:52:24 What do you mean? In what way? I mean. How do you mean? I don't. Or what do you mean? In what way? I mean. How do you mean? I don't know. What do you mean? What? My shirt? I guess technically, but I wouldn't necessarily say that.
Starting point is 01:52:34 Not really. Not in that way. Not in this climate. What do you think? Ask your kid. Yeah. What's he think? What's Harper think?
Starting point is 01:52:41 What'd she ask? She asked. I'm going to remember. She's from utah i remember too april fool's jokes april fools and have you ever been telling the truth and someone didn't think you were telling the truth i love when people call in i'll always say thank you for calling in but sometimes i have to give people a hard time because people think we have like this rolodex of like every memory we've ever made hey Hey, can you just pull this? Has anyone ever not believed you? Probably.
Starting point is 01:53:06 Yeah, of course. I'm sure. I can't remember it off the top. Catherine say in Chicago, we know and believe me about that. The voiceovers are getting less like, what's your guys' favorite color? To more just like, what's a time in your life where you felt pressured, but you surmounted that pressure and in the end you were glad it happened. We're starting a podcast. She used to be a polygamist and i'm i'm a dental student what do you guys
Starting point is 01:53:29 think it should be called what's it called okay okay okay i got this for you dimmy baby one more time um no it's good this is good this is how you get funnier this is this is good improv practice i guess um there was that thing we couldn't remember even when it was fresh like three weeks ago i was like what was i trying to tell you and i was like isaac was that thing we couldn't remember even when it was fresh, like three weeks ago. I was like, what was I trying to tell you? And I was like, Isaac was there and you didn't believe me. You're like, there's no way you know what I'm talking about. So you remember the thing we couldn't remember. So you're definitely not going to remember now.
Starting point is 01:53:54 Oh, I kind of remember that conversation. OK, the first one. But I don't remember what I don't remember. That makes sense. Oh, I thought you were going to know it. No. Oh, shoot. I don't know anything.
Starting point is 01:54:03 I thought you were like, no, I had a revelation. I remember it now. Wouldn't that be awesome if I had? Oh, yeah. I don going to know it. No. Oh, shoot. We don't know anything. I thought you were like, no, I had a revelation. I remember it now. Wouldn't that be awesome if I had? Oh, yeah. I don't remember though. Okay. Oh, no, I do kind of remember. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:54:13 It's so close. Isaac, Isaac, help us out. I know what you're talking about. Do you remember it? I don't remember it. You remember? It was at my house. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:54:22 I was backing up Jake. Like, no, Jake's never done this. Yeah. No, this is. Yeah. No, no, Jake's never done this. Yeah. No, this is. Yeah. No, no.
Starting point is 01:54:26 Like seriously, like, Oh man. So this is, this is a time in my life. I don't remember. Yeah. I,
Starting point is 01:54:36 I don't know. I, I don't, I don't know. I don't know. I'm sure. I'm sure. I haven't been believed about something.
Starting point is 01:54:42 Uh, watching basketball. Yes. No, it wasn't basketball. It was football. It was back in the day. It was at my house, though. I remember where you were sitting. I remember Jake was sitting on my left. I was on my right. I have the mental image there. I don't think we know it. I don't think we remember it. It's going to be great when we
Starting point is 01:54:58 figure it out someday. It was so inconsequential. We'll talk about whatever that is again. That was the thing. It's going to come in 100 more episodes. um let's let's tackle the april 1st thing i like the idea of you take the true thing and then you lie on top of it so that way when they do figure out that your birthday really is there then they'll still doubt you like wait but like like you'd be like yeah yeah, my mom was like,
Starting point is 01:55:25 like apparently you can do this thing where if you drink from a straw, it helps suck the rest of the stuff back in your body as well. So I was coming out of my mother and it was like 1152 PM. She's like, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 01:55:37 And she was really, she, cause she didn't want people to not believe me like you are right now, but it is my birthday. And, and you know, but she just couldn't like the straw wasn't big enough apparently you have to have pretty good it wasn't a straw yeah it wasn't
Starting point is 01:55:50 yeah like if you have have you had bubble tea before it's like that yeah and um and so i was born at 11 57 on april 1st and and then eventually and you'll be like look look at my card and you show your id and it says april 1st on it like whoa so the straw thing is true too and you'll be like, look, look at my card. And you show your ID and it says April 1st on it. Like, whoa, so the straw thing is true too? And you're like, I don't know. Ask my mom. Ask your mommy. I think this is a great opportunity to just choose every year when your birthday is.
Starting point is 01:56:15 I think keep it around that day, around that time. But go March one year. Okay. Go late March, go early April. Okay. Choose just whatever day is a Friday or Saturday that makes it easier for people to celebrate you. if they're not believing you anyway yeah just like it's april 3rd you just tell your co-workers and they're like great we'd love to celebrate you
Starting point is 01:56:31 this friday here's a cookie cake but then on your actual birthday no one would care your family does okay you have that that's good but that's it how what are we thinking about april fools anymore are we like gotcha yeah i got nothing i did think it was funny um george kittle yeah nice guy kittle yeah um he tweeted last yesterday that he was getting traded to the jaguars oh no way he like photoshopped a picture of him and jaguars thing and everything no way that's pretty good and then john lynch the gm of the 49ers great great kittle george kittle it's george kittle. Is it? Yeah. George Kittle is a tight end for the 49ers. The GM of the 49ers.
Starting point is 01:57:08 John Lynch tweeted like a couple hours later, like just got out of my meeting. Don't scare me like this. So it's kind of funny. That's good. I saw a couple of viral videos and tick tocks of people like telling their kids like die hard Cleveland Browns fans that Baker Mayfield got traded. And the kids are just freaking out. No, why would they do that?
Starting point is 01:57:30 And then the comments are brutal too. Like this could easily be Steelers fans too. Like if a Steelers fan is like, no, we don't want Baker Mayfield. Like why would they do this? I know, that's what I was thinking. Like I was going to give Baker Mayfield a hard time, but for Browns fans, he's got to be amazing compared to everything they've had.
Starting point is 01:57:43 Oh yeah, they've never had a quarterback more than like two years. No, yeah. Yeah, they're pretty fired up on Baker compared to everything they've had. Oh, yeah. They've never had a quarterback more than like two years. No. Yeah. Yeah. They're pretty fired up on Baker probably, but April Fool's. It's fine. But good luck with your happy birthday. It's April 2nd. We're recording this. So I hope your show is awesome.
Starting point is 01:57:56 See you later. Hey, Jake and Brad. This is Lauren calling from South Carolina. Jake, you gave me a shout out on your Just Jake episode four. So I figured it was time to leave a voice memo. So I've been trying to get my husband to listen to your podcast. So Brad, could you give him your best parenting advice?
Starting point is 01:58:21 Coming from a dad, we just had a baby in November. So best parenting advice and Jake, could you give him your best elevator pitch? Why he should listen to ghost runners 30 seconds a minute. Um, tell him why he should listen. Um, anyway, love you guys been listening from the beginning. Um, y'all are the highlight to my monday um so anyway y'all have a great day love the ghost runners bye bye i love southern accents they're nice y'all are the highlight i mean highlight i want to be everybody's highlight highlight can you give him the best advice you can the very best dang that. Oh man. What's your best. I've been trying, I don't know. I don't
Starting point is 01:59:08 know how, like, I don't have a Rolodex of advice either. I should, I should have better like conscious ideas. I've been trying really, really, really, really hard since Bo's been born. Eh, really in the last probably six to seven months since he's a little more controllable to like not ever get mad. Like, and I know that sounds easy. Like, it's like, okay, you don't get mad at your kids, but like, it's really, really easy to get mad at your kids and, and just to be impatient with them. And sometimes I'm impatient with them, but I, I try, I'm trying really, really hard not to like be overwhelmed by him crying or like, so, and I think that that's a little bit of advice. Cause I think that obviously as the leader of your family, you are an example to your
Starting point is 01:59:48 wife and to, if you have other kids, you know, and it's been really cool to see, we don't get really mad at, but we've been trying really hard to get, not get mad at Bo or, you know, not to like show visually our frustration with like, Oh, why is he throwing our broccoli that we're trying to feed him? Like all across the room or whatever? Um, but it's cool. Like Hattie loves Bo more than like anything. And I don't think that's all because of us. I think that's just awesome and grace of God. But I think it's also like, she doesn't see us getting frustrated. So then, cause if she sees us like being mad at him,
Starting point is 02:00:23 she's like, it's okay to be frustrated at Bo sometimes. Yeah. Or like, Oh, that's annoying what he's doing. Like, that's really annoying. Like, like if, if he's screaming while she's supposed to be listening to little mermaid in the car, like she'll just say, Bo's making the music kind of quiet. Like that's all she'll say. Like, like she won't, she won't be like Bo's being so annoying right now. Be quiet. Like she doesn't like get mad at him. She just kind of has sympathy of like, Oh Bo, you're okay. Like, and like trying to like console her and stuff. So that's not great advice for somebody who just has their first kid. Uh, first kid advice, I guess just anything you can do for your wife is the best advice. Cause I think that
Starting point is 02:01:00 that translates into everything. So like anytime you can serve her, anytime you can go the extra mile. Uh, I saw something that I thought was kind of interesting with advice of like embrace changing diapers. I thought that was kind of interesting. Like, because when you're changing your kid's diaper, like you get like this intimate experience with them where like, they're kind of, you know, helpless. They're just sitting there, like, can't do much. And you get like that extra time. And obviously that's not always a coveted time where you're changing diapers, but like look at it as a positive where you get like quality time with them and I guess read, read books to them. That's the big thing we did for Hattie. She's a freaking genius and she loves them. So, um, I guess that's kind of practical advice.
Starting point is 02:01:45 Yeah, no, that's great. Don't go to bed angry at your, uh, don't cry because it's over a smile because it happens. You know, live,
Starting point is 02:01:52 laugh, love as the things I would pass along. And I guess I, we kind of, at least I mentally, I don't know if we always write them down, but like mentally I have these goals every year of my kids' lives. As far as like spiritual, you know,
Starting point is 02:02:06 physical, it makes it sound weird, police soccer. Uh, but like, you know, just things that I want to instill in my kids so that I think like at the end of our time with them, you know, in 18 years or whatever, when they leave, it's like, what did we done? How have we shaped them? Have we put pointed them to the right thing? So I think the best thing you can do as a parent, though, is to just, you know, be a good person yourself and following the right things yourself so that you can be the best person for them. It's easier to be an example when you are like what you're ingesting is like quality things like it's easier to exemplify that. Exactly. If you know you want your output to be be good your input should be good as well i'm not by any means trying to brag but like even like since i've been like being healthier there's just like in in a routine i have more
Starting point is 02:02:53 energy i have more willingness to do things around the house that normally i'd be like kind of woe is me like oh okay i've been working so hard all day though it's like no no i'll do that you know kind of thing so anyway i could talk about that kind of stuff all day though that's that's fun to talk about yeah more if you want to if you want to learn more okay elevator pitch um they've been around for i don't know how long you think 60 70 years yeah i mean it's definitely like changes the way we get up and down buildings um you know you obviously don't burn as many calories as you would like going upstairs but way less of a footprint than escalators definitely um and i mean i think they're just i mean they're very efficient very few mechanical issues that we've got like yeah we've got like the pulley system down like a waiter system on the other side you
Starting point is 02:03:39 go up a you know a single singular shaft um and it's a great way i mean we can talk elevator etiquette like you always should let people off the elevator before you get on absolutely that's that's normal that's appropriate and it's super easy to use you just the doors shut you can either press the buttons before or after the door shut yeah it doesn't matter you just have to know know the number of the floor you're going to so like for example second floor you would press you press two yeah okay that's what i was thinking yeah if you're going to. So like, for example, second floor. You would press. You press two. OK, that's what I was thinking. Yeah. If you're going second floor an elevator,
Starting point is 02:04:06 just go ahead and take the stairs. Go and take the stairs. And sometimes the lower level will not say one. I'll say L just heads up or M. Oh, yes. For Maine. Sometimes if there's a mezzanine that could also be M. So just read the handbook beforehand.
Starting point is 02:04:22 True. I always do. Yeah. And that is my elevator pitch. Good. I think you should use them. Yep. And that is my elevator pitch. Good. I think you should use them. If you're not, then you should. You think that helped?
Starting point is 02:04:30 Yeah. Cool. Hi, Brad. Hi, Jake. This is Liz in Johnson City, Tennessee. Liz. And I just wanted to say congratulations on 100 episodes. I think that is such a cool milestone and exciting.
Starting point is 02:04:45 And I'm not really sure why, other than it's just like a big round number, triple-didge. Triple-didge. My question for you is, where do you guys see yourself 200 episodes from now? Do you have any goals, exciting plans
Starting point is 02:05:00 for the future? 200 episodes from now? It's like episode 300. Nearly two from now. We've loved getting to know you over the past nearly two years now. So what's next? And to make it fun and interesting, I think you should answer the question using your best Southern accent. Bless. Oh, bless.
Starting point is 02:05:20 All right, thanks. Bye-bye, y'all. Bye. Roll Tide. Hey, gig them. Okay, so four years from now, 200 episodes from now, where are we going to be? God almighty. I don't know if I should.
Starting point is 02:05:33 I don't know. I don't know. Catherine really wants to move back to Texas someday. So if I say Texas, that's sad. Hey, why does she want to do that? Why does she want to? Because it's God's country, boy. Don't you know?
Starting point is 02:05:45 They got blue bonnets sprouting up everywhere like weeds. God dang. I'll tell you what, they got HEBs everywhere. Saw the movie Dallas Buyers Club. Really liked it. That really inspired her to go back. She wants to live the natural life. I mean, but you guys are building a fence this summer.
Starting point is 02:06:01 I know, dude. You can't build a fence and then leave. You can't fence and leave. I don't know when we'll, I don't know when we can't fence and leave. I don't know when we'll, I don't know when we'll be back in Texas. I don't know if we will, but she really wants to. So,
Starting point is 02:06:10 just everyone message Catherine and say, they need to stay in, you guys need to stay in Kansas City so we can do this podcast because that's the most important thing in the world. Yeah. Four years, I want to have some more kids.
Starting point is 02:06:21 How many more do you want? I'll tell you what, I want to have all sorts of babies. I want to have. more kids. How many more do you want? I'll tell you what I want to have. All sorts of babies I want to have. Like a starting five? I'm talking four, maybe five babies. Just to have a whole litter. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:06:36 Best starting five since the 88s Boston Celtics. Kevin McHale. Larry. Larry Legend. Larry Legend Bird. Dennis Johnson. Robert Parrish. Some McHale. Larry. Larry Legend. Legend Bird. Dennis Johnson. Robert Parrish. Some of the others.
Starting point is 02:06:50 And Kurt Rambis is not on the team, but I'll say him. Michael Jordan, I think. What else are we going to do? So you're going to have some children? Oh, a lot of them. You still going to be working? I hope so. Never know. Every month month's different challenge do you do you want to still be woodworking four years from now i think so
Starting point is 02:07:13 yeah yeah i love i love my woodworking i liked i like the idea of potentially like expanding a little bit maybe having a little bigger maybe having somebody under me. You know me. A couple people where I can kind of. A couple of good old boys. A couple of good old boys. A couple of boys you trust. They're going to be there every day when you want to show up. A couple of boys who say, what kind of wranglers you got? And they say, are you talking about my nice wranglers or my work wranglers?
Starting point is 02:07:41 What kind of boots you got? Are you talking about my work boots or my church boots? My dancing boots. Yeah. I was kind of loose with that ring alert. Where else I want to be? I don't know, man. I genuinely don't know.
Starting point is 02:08:01 Four years sober from Dr. Pepper? I'll tell you what. I want to be down to 145 pounds pounds they're gonna call me string bean can you imagine in four years if i was 145 pounds you would look different i'd look like a free hey isaac how much you weigh isaac weighs 180 i relay 35 pounds less than than Isaac. You would be malnourished. Yeah. I'd be in Dallas Buyers Club is what I'd be.
Starting point is 02:08:29 That'd be bad. Haven't had a meal in years. Ever since the Depression. Mama rings that supper bell, but no food on the plate. Just quality time, and that's it. We still thank the Lord, though. Still give thanks um okay 145 pounds with the nickname string bean string bean same job with two extra kids i think just call me string bean no matter what in four years please i don't care what i look like i don't care if i'm
Starting point is 02:08:59 freaking like escalade like i just don't want to be called what's up i'm string mean why you call that uh just my friends call me that i like vegetables um string bean i don't know i i i genuinely have no idea dude i think who knows what we're gonna do and like the the trajectory of the careers of this comedy podcast and what's gonna take us And yeah, obviously love woodworking and would be content doing that the rest of my life, but also I have no idea. So do you have, do you have yearly goals or anything? Oh brother. No.
Starting point is 02:09:36 Oh, oh yeah. Sorry, brother. I got no goals. I, I got a, I'll tell you what, I got a got a couple good good trajectories in front of me i got a couple good good buddies i'm working with okay good times ahead yeah that's all you need good buddy good good good friends good times and good beer am i right good pair of wranglers yeah yeah wrangulars wrangulars yeah i i have no idea yeah it's fun to think about like it's fun to also go backwards to be like four years ago what were we doing oh where was i you were k-lifing 2017 how do you yeah last
Starting point is 02:10:16 year yeah last year of k-life wow that's a long time a lot can happen in four years gunner wasn't even married yet i remember gunner just got married because we had to miss his wedding because Catherine was in the hospital with Hattie. Ah, I DJ'd that wedding. That's always fun. I had to DJ the ceremony. That's scary. Nerve wracking.
Starting point is 02:10:34 Yeah. Wow. A lot. Yeah. A lot can happen in four years. A lot can change, you know? And so it's like, like Hattie's going to be eight years old in four years. How do we be eight?
Starting point is 02:10:41 Which means my daughter will be two by then. That's right. Remember when I predicted that you were going to get married in six months yeah i was so confident too like it was it was it was fun but it was also like you knew i think it's gonna happen okay yeah i'll try i haven't predicted that since i've made sure i haven't come close to predicting anything in that realm since then i just think once you find the girl you're gonna snatch her and you're gonna be like i know like i know come here we're fine come here babe i'll be your daddy i'll snatch you i want a baby dear i want a baby daddy anyway so that's fun to think about i and it is cool to think back on 100 episodes and like all
Starting point is 02:11:20 the crazy things we've done and it's not like we've done like crazy things but like you know where we've recorded and like the different locations of everything like all throughout my house basically like literally almost every room or not yeah living room basement workshop other living room the other like family room uh truck your truck your basement my basement my other basement basement yeah and truck truck twice truck on the road one time like literally like to Texas yeah backseat
Starting point is 02:11:49 the truck and then I will add Phoenix to the list next week maybe absolutely probably yes the more I'm thinking about the more I like it yeah we should just let's just pack it up
Starting point is 02:11:56 I'll already have my laptop well yeah we can talk about it later it'll be fun yeah it's it's fun we're very thankful and hopefully we're doing this episode 300 yeah i mean i'd like to i mean there's no reason not to it's not that hard it's so hard for me dude it's the hardest thing okay let's um let's cap the voice members there this is a very long episode
Starting point is 02:12:20 but we wanted to make episode 100 uh a big for you guys. A big one. A big one. So consider this. It's triple digits. Consider this a big one. Brad, what is your review of the week? My review of the week is My Sister Broke Her Face. Oh. By Nick Friga. It's a long one, okay?
Starting point is 02:12:34 So sit back and relax. I might sit back. Nick Friga. Nick Friga. Nick Friga. My Sister Broke Her Face. I feel like that random blunt title fits in well with the titles of your podcast episodes anyway my sister left a review a few weeks ago about getting blasted in the face by a softball and you guys both picked it as your review of the week she was ecstatic
Starting point is 02:12:52 by the way so i figured i'd leave one too since you guys are more than deserving of the five star review let me just confirm that my sister is in fact a good softball player not an embarrassment to the family she played several seasons of co-ed 12-inch hardball. 12-inch. What a bragger. There's no way there's no way it's 12-inch. That's got to be circumference. Okay. 12-inch circumference hardball at the cold corner. Please specify next time. I used to fire balls
Starting point is 02:13:15 across the infield at her 90 miles an hour. We'll get a full play-by-play. That's a big brag. No way you're throwing a softball 90 miles an hour. Prove it. No one's ever thrown a softball 90 miles an hour surely i don't believe it really i don't buy it that is really softball that's you're right you're lying and she caught everyone with her glove not with her face now to the point i thought it would be one time we played basketball i made 19 threes in a row she made a couple then we played football and then i dunked on an 11 foot goal
Starting point is 02:13:43 now to the point. Bria and I have actually been wanting to do something similar to what you guys do for our little community in the suburbs of Chicago. But the fact that you guys... That's too long. But the fact that you guys essentially built a community from scratch that now spans the entire country
Starting point is 02:13:59 and beyond just goes to show how genuine, fun, and talented you guys really are. I know I speak for all ghosties out there when I say that we all look forward to seeing you guys keep growing and doing bigger and better things. And if you're ever considering a show in our area, I'll make sure that it's packed. Okay. I'll end this with a question for you guys, voice memo style, like Bria did. I recently became the manager of a couple offices for my day job,
Starting point is 02:14:21 so what Michael Scott characters, tactics, shenanigans should I utilize in a real life office setting? Or should I throw up a curve ball and go Ron Swanson on them? So many possibilities. Seriously, though, thanks for all you guys do. It brings a lot of joy and laughter and a whole bunch of people out here. And you guys should be proud.
Starting point is 02:14:34 Take care, Nick, Nick. We are coming to your area, Nick. We're coming to Juliet for a show, not Brad and I, but maybe,
Starting point is 02:14:42 but maybe betraying our company. If I impress him enough in phoenix we'll see how it goes in phoenix if my street corner antics you know he's like where is everybody and everyone's just laughing so hard outside the club no one's even coming into the late show they're all outside that's right giving string bean their money don't do anything that michael scott would do yeah i was gonna say i don't know if that's the tactic you want to go with because it's not funny in real life and it's very very like you're gonna get canceled and like fire yeah you should definitely hit on the receptionist and make her feel uncomfortable totally that would be hilarious yeah no maybe
Starting point is 02:15:12 don't yeah don't do any of that stuff what else i mean just everything michael said a lot of words that have an h will f word r word yeah yeah don't do that yep um you could do the um like where you're really into a movie and so you you like you know throw yourself into that character like what's best for you makushla you could do that that's pretty harmless baby yeah that's good but do it for like kids movies specifically like yeah act like king triton on little mermaid sure i don't really know that movie very well but how do you listen to the story bring in a shovel every day and start measuring things with your shovel. Yeah, this is five feet wide by five feet deep.
Starting point is 02:15:48 That's good. And just like eat sunflower seeds like Mr. Sir. That's good. I don't remember what else I was going to say. I was going to say something, but I forgot it. Hey, it's okay, Nick. Thank you for the voice. That's a good review.
Starting point is 02:16:02 Mine is from Allie. Her username is Hoopster0214. Oh. Catherine said she couldn't hear the buzzing very well. Oh, no. But it just freaking buzzed. Well, it just buzzed. Is Harry here?
Starting point is 02:16:15 Oh, Isaac left. Oh, no one's here. No, Isaac's here. Hey, is Harrison here? Hey, don't worry, guys. I'm here. Is Harrison here? Uh, no.
Starting point is 02:16:22 Okay, good. Is that your laundry? Yeah, sorry. Just don't let it ding again. Yes, good. Is that your laundry? Yeah, sorry. Just don't let it ding again. Yes, sir. String bean's going to lose his mind. String bean's going to go off the pod. What's a bean have?
Starting point is 02:16:34 A stalk. He's going to split his stalk. Great. Go ahead. The title is, I have just drinks in my town. Hi, Jacob, Brad. I'm a new listener and i just have to say i'm obsessed with the pod you guys brighten my day with the fun endless laughs and clean comedy this is my new favorite podcast and i'm so happy to be a ghosty as a new listener i'm
Starting point is 02:16:53 slowly learning more of all these inside jokes that i keep on hearing about just drinks and i'm like hot dog i have to tell jake and brad this in my small indiana town we have this place it has changed a lot throughout the years but right now there's two locations one location sells fruit and drinks which I know is poor but the other location is a drive-thru if you guessed it just drinks I'm not talking regular drinks either you can put any flavors you want in them you can have blue raspberry mountain dew watermelon sprite marshmallow tea gross and my favorite a vanilla sun-kissed the place is called zip and sip favorite, a vanilla Sunkist. The place is called Zip and Sip. Parentheses. Such a great name. That's a great name. Anyway, I just had to share that with you guys.
Starting point is 02:17:30 Keep up the good work. Love the pod. Allie, heart emoji. Do you think that's better or worse than Just Drinks? Zip and Zip. That's a pretty good name. It kind of has gas station vibes, though. People think it's like get and go or come and go or something like that. Yeah, you're right. Just Drinks, you know. You know what you doing i might have i might have taken out the and and
Starting point is 02:17:48 just call it zip zip zip zip because then you could say really quick zip and sip slows you down let's go zip zip let's go zip zip or maybe maybe just call it zigzag anything you say quickly i think it's a good company name because you're getting in and out quick absolutely zigzag just drinks up just drinks and just drink anything like that just drinks those are all company names is a good company name because you're getting in and out quick. Absolutely. Zigzag. Just drinks. Up, up. Just drinks. Up, up. And just drinks. Anything like that. Clink, clunk.
Starting point is 02:18:08 Just drinks. Those are all company names. Cool. Marshmallow tea is like that chocolate Coke that you had that one time where you were like, I guess it's good. People are getting it.
Starting point is 02:18:18 It must be all right. Like I'm curious, like if people are getting marshmallow tea, maybe it's good. But that sounds terrible. It's someone's favorite drink. Yeah. But not mine.
Starting point is 02:18:28 Okay. Brad would you like to end this episode with a voicemail from a track that I downloaded beforehand because our internet's done. A voicemail. Yeah. Can I end the episode? You want to end the episode? Yeah I want to end the episode. Like with a jingle or like? With like yeah like a
Starting point is 02:18:44 jingle. Wi-Fi doesn't work which is an issue but i i got something for you guys go over here yeah i'm getting in here i'm getting in here isaac said he wants to end the episode why you gotta how do i airdrop a note how yeah um i would click like the share all right while they're doing're doing that, I'm just going to sing acapella. All the small things by Blink-182. No, we'll cut this part out. I'm just kidding. All the ghost things.
Starting point is 02:19:21 This is fun, whatever it is. I know. I'm very intrigued. Can you just tilt? Watch the video. Okay. So I don't even know what this is fun whatever it is i know i'm very intrigued can you just tilt watch the video okay so i don't even know what this is do you need to like set it up or should we just like watch it just watch it but but do you want to you want to see it brad i know oh no way okay the username is oh it's a seven minute video and Mac Baxter is the username that made this

Jake and Brad, congratulations, guys, on episode 1,000 of Ghost Runners. 1,000. Why?
Starting point is 02:26:11 Episode 100. Are you kidding me? We're making this big of a deal out of somebody doing something 100 times. You know what? I went to work 100 days in a row. So, Heather Lee, I would like for you to make your next jingle all about Steve. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 02:26:27 Guys, thank you for everything. Love the podcast. We appreciate it. Bye-bye. Congratulations. That was a great jingle. Talk about how you're most proud of yourself
Starting point is 02:26:41 on the podcast. We love listening to it. Good job. Good job. Good job. Say congratulations on 100 episodes. Who would have thought when you started this in our garage, your shop, that we'd be here 100 weeks later? Pretty crazy, isn't it, honey?
Starting point is 02:27:00 Yes, pretty crazy. Say we love you. We love you. We love you we love you bye wow that's amazing dude wow dang dude
Starting point is 02:27:19 no one's really ever done anything like that for me before hey good job guys how long have you just been sitting on that? You just had that? I've had it for a while, yeah. Really? I've had it for a week. Knack Mick did a really good job.
Starting point is 02:27:33 The editing. I don't know how he got your dad involved. He didn't ask me. Well, I think he did, but I didn't know. I didn't respond. I didn't help him. I'll tell you that much. I didn't help him.
Starting point is 02:27:45 Wow. I don't know how. I'll tell you that much. I didn't help him. Wow. I don't know how I got your dad and Catherine involved. Dude, that is so cool. He probably got started on it like a month ago. No way. Yeah. Wow. That's why I was just like napping down here.
Starting point is 02:27:57 Like I really wanted to take a nap, but I was like, I got to know when they're going to finish up. Yeah. Dang. I got a yoga mat over there the whole time. I didn't realize you were napping in the basement. Yeah. That would have thrown me off. Maybe had I known.
Starting point is 02:28:07 Oh, I knew. I could see his feet kind of dangling. Golly. Dang. That hit me. That'd be good. Thanks everyone.
Starting point is 02:28:16 Good job guys. Thanks dude. The little kids get me, man. Kirstie's daughter and my daughter, man. Made me, made me emotional.
Starting point is 02:28:24 Thanks dude. Thanks, dude. Wow, that was awesome. Thank you, guys. I don't know what to say. I don't know. Yeah, no one's ever... That's kind of... It's still...
Starting point is 02:28:34 We'll say it a million more times probably, but it's still just so bizarre that we have a podcast that makes a difference or that people are caring about so much. It's just so cool and so different than anything we could ever imagine it's like so beyond explanation it's like deja vu kind of it's like i don't know how to explain this yeah it's not real like like all these people are making up that they like this podcast like for me to have to explain that to someone like for me to explain it to my grandpa you know just like yeah so me and my friends started talking yeah two years ago yeah once a week we would talk and then just about
Starting point is 02:29:05 nothing strangers on the internet somewhere another found out that we were talking to each other once a week yeah and now they they put together this seven minute long video singing us custom lyrics that they made i just yeah and they filmed themselves i just never would have guessed that i yeah that was yeah, yeah, so cool, man. And so wonderful. I don't know what to say. One of my best friends from college, Anderson, he called me this week
Starting point is 02:29:32 and we talked on the phone for like an hour and he was like, we're just catching up. And he's like, dude, one thing I want to say, like, I've always seen you post about your podcast, but I never listened to it until recently. I've just been listening the past couple of weeks. Yeah. And like, dude, it's amazing what you guys are doing.
Starting point is 02:29:43 Oh, really? He was like, I mean, like you were always funny, always funny but like it's just cool like the way the podcast is set up he's like obviously i don't know how big it is but it feels like it is such a tight-knit highly engaged community yeah like why do you think that is so it's cool like he only listened a few episodes and he could tell like there's a tight like close-knit community with this podcast and i didn't even have an answer for him. I was like, I don't know. I don't know if it's just blessed, man.
Starting point is 02:30:07 Yeah. Just lots of, lots of people that care about other people. I think, I think, I think it, it spans so far. Like I,
Starting point is 02:30:16 it's been cool. Even this past week, shout out Aubrey Magoon. Like, um, you know, just she, she just messaged us.
Starting point is 02:30:23 She's had some hard times in her life and other ghosties that have met her through our podcast are like reaching out, you know just she she just messaged us she's had some hard times in her life and other ghosties that have met her through our podcast are like reaching out you know reaching out to her and consoling her through this and it's just like golly like i don't know it's just really cool man it's just it's just sweet like it's just yeah i'm sure there's a lot of people listening right now it's like okay well this is just a comedy podcast yeah do the batman impressions again yeah so whatever this is to you, we appreciate you listening. If it's just something to fill time on a Monday for you, or if this is your first episode,
Starting point is 02:30:49 or if you've been listening from episode one and you were featured in that video or your patron, wherever you are on the spectrum. Um, thanks for, thanks for listening and thinking, thinking that Brad and I are up to something, whatever it is.
