Starting point is 00:00:00 Brad, I went to Denver this week. Oh, yeah. Colorado. At the end of opportunity. That's right. And, you know, we're doing a show that night. I've been hanging out in the venue all day, watching some NFL Red Zone, DoorDash. And it's just been, it's been a good day in the venue, but I need a little fresh air.
Starting point is 00:00:14 I'm warm. And so I'm kind of wandering. Fresh altitude. Yes, that's right. Yeah. I'm trying to find some fresh air. I'm wandering around the venue. I find this exit.
Starting point is 00:00:22 I'll buy the lobby. Like, it sounds kind of loud outside like i think this opens up to like a street or something like okay i'll come out here and i go to like open a door and it feels kind of locked but it's like i there's still like it feels like i should be able to get through this yeah yeah i don't know why it would be locked from the inside and so then i'm i'm pushing it a little harder and i'm like okay there's a little bit of movement i can get through this door i don't know what's on your pushing it a little harder. And I'm like, okay, there's a little bit of movement. I can get through this door. I don't know what's on your side.
Starting point is 00:00:46 You use a little booty to push it? Yeah, I mean, everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm just like, I'm... Hip checking that thing. I'm like making a little progress. I'm like, I'm going to get this door. I'm going to get this door.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And eventually I just give up. I'm like, this is crazy. And because there's another door next to it, I'm like, let me just go out the other door. I open that door. I'm like, I got to see what's behind this door. It was a homeless man sleeping. No,
Starting point is 00:01:06 I had just been ramming. Oh my gosh. Into him. And I thought you were going to say like, it was a pull. Like, and I was like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:01:13 classic. I was in my mind. I did not see homeless man sleeping coming up. Yeah. I thought it was like a heavy cardboard box. My God, I got to see the size of this box. It must be a hard bound books in here.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Somebody ordered something. Yeah. Heavy, you know, to the venue. Wow. Who's going to ship to this the side alley a homeless man sleeping so did you say something to him no he literally seemed unbothered um by me just railing this metal door into maybe he's used to it he's like he's like that's what you get for being by the door and well maybe you know yeah he's kind of like he's getting burped you don't get burped as much as an adult sleeping on the street so i burped him i wonder if that would help
Starting point is 00:01:46 like not having a home all right what would you rather have a warm place to sleep but no one burps you or you get to live in denver which is beautiful in the winter beautiful in the summer yeah once a week someone burps you with a metal door uh oh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down. With some random thoughts and a white meat, too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead, get on your feet. Because this is the Ghostrunners Podcast. Ghostrunners Podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Ghostrunners Podcast. Ghostrunters fans, we are back. And Ghost Hunters co-hosts, hello. Hello, Jake. Hey, if you guys are watching on YouTube.com, then you see that things have switched up. It's crazy. We're getting zany today. A whole new studio. Yep.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Look, Vader's point. Yeah, my computer is not working and so i'm using brad's computer and you guys know the rules whoever whoever's yeah we gotta switch sides yeah so we switch sides switch sides so i'm looking left today brad's looking right i already i already feel a little strained i feel a little odd because like i am a little bit self-conscious about the camera because i'm looking at you like this but this is right here so no it's i know it's wonder it's making me wonder how do i sit maybe you just don't really look at me very much man
Starting point is 00:03:17 maybe maybe you're just like hey guys looking straight ahead maybe yeah this is nice i probably need this for the new new studio we'll get you one, buddy. Which we'll be getting sometime soon. We have longer to move out. Really? I thought it was December 17th. Turns out it's the whole month, baby. Sweet. Just what I needed to pay another month of rent.
Starting point is 00:03:35 More time. Yeah. Yes, that was a bummer. But it's good. How's your week been? Week's been good, man. Busy, which is whatever. That's your week been? Um, week's been good, man. Um, busy, like, which is, which is whatever, you know, that's such a cliche, like, you know, busy and tired. Um,
Starting point is 00:03:51 I'm not that tired. I'm just really busy. Um, we went to Austin this weekend, uh, to go. Yeah. We went out to a wedding for Taylor McCullough. What's her new last name? Uh, bell. Oh, cute. Taylor bell. Yeah. They rang bells when they left. Okay. How fun. What for? Christmas. Jingle bells. They jingled bells. Yeah. Cool. So yeah, anyway, we went there and this is, this is a girl that Jake and Catherine used to, like she was a student in K-Life back in the day. Yeah. She's great. And so Catherine and I went down there, left the kids at home, which was fun. We flew, this was the first time Catherine had flown in forever, which is, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:30 classic Catherine, just like, just, just does not like anything, you know, to change at all. So she's like these masks, you know, like I'm having such a hard time breathing with these things. Catherine, I've taken 14 naps in masks on a plane this month. She was so excited when the pretzels came out. She's like, Oh yeah, this is, this is where you hack the system. Stanley on pretzel day. Uh, you know, but, but right when we got up to like the, uh, security checkpoint or whatever, the TSA, um, you know, these days, like, like we've talked about these days, I like where this is going these days. Like I've been getting recognized more and I'm getting a little bit of like a,
Starting point is 00:05:09 like, you know, a saunter to my walk, you know, like, here I come world. Here comes Brad Ellis. Here he comes. And so I, you know, we have our masks on. So I'm like, no, one's probably going to recognize me on a mask. Oh, wait, I know where this is going i think no you don't yeah i have a guess you think so all right okay okay okay uh so so we get up to like the the point where you show them your boarding pass and you show them your id and i show my id and this girl goes brad ellis and and katherine i look at each other like she's like your your name is brad ellis like you're brad ellis and i was like I was like, yeah, yeah, I'm Brad Ellis. You know, whatever. Like thinking like, Oh, I'm such hot stuff. And she, she's like, there's a Brad Ellis who works here. And I was like, I was like, so like, you're kidding me through the mask. I can't go anywhere because she kind of like, like it was like, maybe she
Starting point is 00:06:01 was kind of seeing me before I walked up here, you know, Brad. Oh yeah. Brad, Brad Ellis. Really? And she's like, yeah, yeah. He works here and he's Brad jr. And Brad senior also works here. That's nuts. And they're like, and your middle name's David. His middle name starts with a D. And I was like, that's not what I was expecting to talk about. But, but I was like, I was so high on my horse. I'm like, here we go. Even with the mask on. Can't go anywhere these days. As I was hearing that story, I was about to get upset. I was like, I fly out of that airport twice a week. Not a single TSA agent has ever said anything to me. I was like, oh boy.
Starting point is 00:06:38 You know, because even if people do recognize me from jean shorts, which I think is where most people are recognizing me from, they don't know my last name on there you know what i mean like like i've had very few like ghost runner people know who i am yet so or you know recognize me out in public but dang that's so funny though that was like me at the basketball game wait remind me your name yeah or hey hey we've been trying to figure out like what's your name like yeah you're like jake oh yeah we were just thinking we thought it was trent uh okay what i thought was gonna happen okay it's because this has been a thing for like a year now when you go up to that first like the the tsa teller or whatever take your mask the gatekeeper
Starting point is 00:07:15 yeah yeah can you pull your mask down please i thought that maybe a picture yeah i thought that you were gonna be like i forgot about that part of the process and then they were they like said a little too excited. Like, wait, can you take your mask down? As I'm like walking away. Can you, can you, can you just go and take your mask down? We're kind of curious what you look like. It is Brad D Ellis.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Someone here. Metal detector, Brad, check this guy out. But yeah, I had a little fiasco before the TSA as well. Um, so Scott sell just the saint that he is, uh, gave us a ride to the airport. What's it, what'd you call it? Full service, full service, full service, baby. And he gave us a ride to the airport, but it was like a caveat. He's like, I can give you a ride, but I have a business meeting, you know, right afterwards. So I got, I got to go a little earlier. I was like, no problem. So we get there, I get out and, you know, just being the, just in touch, like not dead, like not addicted to my phone kind of guy that I am. Uh, you know, I sit down to your walk. Oh,
Starting point is 00:08:15 I'm just sauntering, sauntering down. You know, Catherine and I were like, we got here early. Let's get some Starbucks. So we get some Starbucks. We're sitting there and I go to like reach for my phone and it's not there. And I'm like, ah, crap. And I was like, maybe, maybe it's, maybe it's some, like, I was like, I don't remember having it. I don't, you know, I didn't look at the whole time I was in the car with Scott. Maybe I tucked it in my waistband. Maybe I just, maybe I put it down my bra. Um, kind of check my hoodie. Yeah. Can you check underneath my shoe? And you might go under center real quick. See what's down there. Yeah. A little, do a little audible if you will. And so anyway, found out that it was still in Scott's car. And so then, yeah, I went through a whole process. I think I texted you as one of the
Starting point is 00:08:58 people, like I texted three or four different people like, Hey, do you guys have Scott's number? Cause Catherine didn't have it. And by the time we connected with them, it was too late. So didn't have my phone for the whole weekend, which was like, like I wanted to be like, Oh, that's not that big of a deal. And it really wasn't like, I'm not that addicted to my phone as it shows, but, but there's so many times I just found out about my personality, like that. I don't need my phone by any means, but I want to know the answer to things. That's, that's my thing. That's where I killed you. Like, like even, even things like we were talking about the wedding and it was like, yeah, what is this Catherine or what does Taylor's fiance do? Like, what is this? Like, where's he from? Mr. Bell. And I was like, oh, I don't know. And I wanted to look it up so bad.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Like, it's not like anything like really a big deal or, you know, anytime we'd have a conversation, I'd be like, well, let me just find the answer to that. It was so hard. You get so used to all this access to information. Then when you're denied it you're like i'm so dumb now like right yeah yeah there was ever there was never any argument it's like hey what's the world's most popular food like we could figure that out really quickly you know whereas we've bred probably probably some kind of yeah gluten something rice gotta be rice i think bread no way of knowing no way of knowing don't have her phone because we don't have wi-fi here um yeah that's another thing so anyway but it was great man we
Starting point is 00:10:10 hung out with uh katherine's brother um in texas he's he's there and i don't know nothing too crazy oh and at the wedding i did get recognized at the wedding let's go i did get recognized at the wedding somewhat k-life canicuck baylor bell family member kind of kind of more of a j connection slash canna cook okay so um and i don't know if i really buy that this is like like he said this he said he like so this guy came and sat next to us at our table we were talking to him for a while he seemed really friendly he didn't really know too many people there we didn't know know that many people there. And he said he worked at Canacook and I was like, Oh yeah, we worked at Canacook too. Um, I don't know, whatever. I don't remember exactly how it got to it, but he's like, yeah, I know Jake triplet. And I was like, Oh yeah, I'm like
Starting point is 00:10:57 really close friends with Jake. We actually do a podcast together. And he's like, yeah, earlier when we were like walking down to the reception, I thought I recognized your voice from the podcast. Do you buy it? Do you don't buy it? Is this all the info I have to go off of? Yeah. I mean, after after I said.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Wait, he said I saw you walking down. No, he heard me walk. OK, OK. As we were walking down, I think he heard me in the background or something. He was like, hold up. He's like, that's the. And he said he doesn't even listen to the podcast that often, but he follows you on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Hmm. So I. Do we buy it? I think I maybe buy it after he saw me. Like maybe he's like, that guy kind of sounds familiar. Look back, he's like, oh, there's the guy from those videos that Jake posts on his Instagram.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Like I get that maybe. I guess. But anyway, his name is Billy Popoff. Oh yeah. He's yeah. He worked at K country, which is where we worked, but he's just, he's just younger than me, but he's like really close with some K West people who are close with Jake. Oklahoma state guy. Yes. Yeah. New gunner and
Starting point is 00:11:52 lives in Dallas. Really cool guy. His last name is Popoff. I know. Like I didn't know that until the very, like, as he was leaving, I was like, Hey man, what's your last name? Cause I'm going to tell people I met you. And he's pop off like oh seriously that's amazing what's your middle name yes queen yeah your last name was pop off yeah what else could the middle name be slay yeah slay that's good i don't know no cap i don't know uh billy no cap pop off anyway but yeah it was just like it was like do i buy that he really but at point I was like, my saunter has kind of gone down, so I need to get back up. So I buy anything that anybody says.
Starting point is 00:12:29 You need to get the saunter up. Yeah. I think I spent a day in the Grand Canyon with Billy Popoff. Oh really? Billy Yes Queen. Yeah, I think so. Now that I think about it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Can't Google it. Good guy. Can't look it up. Can't look that up. No way of knowing. Yeah. But yeah, it was fun weekend away from kids. And I am getting old.
Starting point is 00:12:49 I've decided with weddings because we were. So it was like an outdoor reception because it's Austin in December. And so it's still like 70 degrees. That's nice. But they had like a tent where most of the tables were. And then there were probably like five tables outside the tent. We sat outside the tent. I still complained audibly multiple times about how it was hard to hear people and how I wish the music was quieter. That makes me feel old. And the fact
Starting point is 00:13:15 that I'm prioritizing conversations over dancing and music. You're like, I want to get to know Billy. Yeah, seriously. Like I did. And I also was like, yeah, I could dance, but I don't want to get all sweaty. Like I've been there too. Yeah. I'm starting to get there too. And I'm just like, is this, is this our life? I know. Like Catherine and I had no kids.
Starting point is 00:13:33 We had no excuses not to dance. Yeah. And yet we danced for like 10 seconds. Dang. On the way to get water. This is rough. This is a rough like day in history for you. And it was an earlier wedding.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I think it started at 430. Oh dude. I also have a story about the wedding, but oh but um it was like a 4 30 wedding but like the day before katherine's like yeah it's like a 4 30 wedding so we'll probably be home by like nine i was like nine it's like katherine we're not gonna be home by nine maybe the pacific time kid yeah we're gonna get like i was like there's no way it's gonna end by nine and she's like well i don't think we're gonna stay the whole time i was like what it's going to end by nine. And she's like, well, I don't think we're going to stay the whole time. I was like, what? It's you're talking to Santa Alice. Don't you know me?
Starting point is 00:14:08 Like eight o'clock. I was like, you want to get out of here? So maybe right after the cake comes out, we'll just eat it and then go. Does that sound good? So anyway, real quick,
Starting point is 00:14:18 I, I just said you want to get out of here, but I remembered where it came. Have you ever heard Trey tell that story? He had a friend and, um, or it was, his friend was a girl and it was like recently she was like at a bar in Kansas city. The fact that this, when you said his friend was a girl, like just sounded like it was
Starting point is 00:14:34 a boy that like, whatever. His friend became a girl. Yeah. Uh, she was in Kansas. Some girl. Yeah. At a bar in Kansas city. Some guy like approaches her and he's like, Hey ma'am, can I, uh, can I buy you a drink?
Starting point is 00:14:45 And right away she's like, Oh no, I'm'm not interested i'm not here to like be hit on like i'm just like waiting for someone else like and like i have a boyfriend and he goes you want to get out of here she said it was like the most confident she's ever seen like just so blatantly not listening to what she said just like just like i don't care i'm gonna say something and she's gonna respond and whatever she says i'm just gonna say you want to get out of here or maybe he doesn't he knows body language better than he knows the human language or sorry english language yeah he just strictly reads the body because i'm sure her body was like no thanks i'm actually just here to hang out i actually have a boyfriend already friend you know so i love saying that now even if it's like not whatever context just like it's we're
Starting point is 00:15:28 done at a restaurant hey yeah you want to get out of here i like saying it when it's not time to get out of here yet like like after appetizers for our first quarter of the football game yeah you uh hey guys yeah you wanna what do you guys? Let's go ahead and get out of here. You want to get out of here? Yeah. It's a good one. Oh, that's good. Oh, I have, I have one more story from the wedding. So this is just, this is something that I hate that, that Catherine and I are, but we are, we are late sometimes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:57 And most of the time, I'm not going to blame it on the kid. Use the a word all the time. It's Catherine. Except for this week, Catherine's going to roll her eyes at that, but it's not really true. But most of the time she is the one that's kind of making us late, but also to her credit,
Starting point is 00:16:13 she does like 90% of all the responsibilities for it. So it's kind of a weighted test here. Yes. Yeah. It's graded on the curve. It's like, you are the last one ready because you got four other people, not four,
Starting point is 00:16:23 you know, but you, you'd made breakfast for all of us and whatever did all this stuff but you're still the last one so manage your time a little better um so this time though it was a black tie wedding and so daddy got to wear the tux no infamous tux you finally got to wear it i finally pulled i i had literally had not like opened it from the cardboard box that it came in. Talk about pop off. Oh yeah. So yeah,
Starting point is 00:16:47 it was a black tie optional, but I was like, I'm wearing that thing. Are you kidding me? I love that. I think we've talked about the podcast before. I love that terminology. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Every day is black tie optional. Of course it's optional. Why wouldn't it be? Um, but anyway, long story short, I had some issues. I,
Starting point is 00:17:01 I, I, I was struggling to get my bow tie done. Cause I, it's a real bow tie bow t oh yeah really black tie black ties like tux yeah still i would pick you for more traditional no traditional bow tie no really i don't know oh i'm pretty sure when i think of black tie i think of bow ties and like a tuxedo is black tie anyway i i I, I, I went, I went BT and I was struggling to get it on. It
Starting point is 00:17:28 was just, and it was, it's like one of the worst feelings in the world. I'm, I I'm, I'm a very privileged person, but it was one of the worst feelings in the world. Like, like, I don't care. I don't care what you've gone through in life, struggling and like running late on time and trying to tie a tie and struggling with it is the worst feeling. I would put it up there with already being hot, going to take off your hoodie and then getting your arm caught, your head stuck. Sure. And it feels like you're inside of a volcano and you can't escape. That's like, that's like, that's a good point, but that's only like half second, one second.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Sometimes I bump it up to a second and a half. Okay. Second and a half. But that, like that, you're right. That's maybe more intense for that second and a half, but it's over after a second. Yeah. This is like seven, 20 minutes, you know, whatever. Like I'm getting warmer and warmer.
Starting point is 00:18:08 And you have the top button buttoned already. So you're already kind of suffocating yourself. Yeah. And you're in a, you're in a bathroom that your wife has just like showered and then straightened her hair in. So it's like so much warm air in there and you're just a big boy already. And you just feel the beads of sweat going down your back. And you're like, oh my gosh, I'm doing exactly what the YouTube video says and it's not working.
Starting point is 00:18:27 And so long story short, we got to the venue of the wedding. I think right at the time that the wedding started, maybe one minute late. And which is obviously just, you're supposed to get there earlier than that. And so I dropped Catherine off. I just like, I dropped her off and I'm like, I'm just going to go find a spot to park. So I parked and like this venue is like outdoors. And like, it's one of those things. I don't know why wedding people do this, like the, the planners of weddings, but they make it. So the one entrance that you can come in is like clearly visible to everybody. So I had the choice of either, like I parked really close in a place that wasn't supposed to park, but I was like, whatever I'm running late and my bow tie looks nice now. And so I'm like, I can either go right here, which is where all the groomsmen and
Starting point is 00:19:13 bridesmaid and bride is about to walk down. Oh, Hey Taylor. Or I can go the other way and literally be in front of the entire crowd. Oh, Hey Billy. And so I'm trying to figure it out. And as I'm trying to figure out, I see this other woman, she's probably like 50 year old mom, like looking nice, but looking, looking late, like what, what Catherine's going to be like someday. And she's like, I think the only way to go is just around there. Uh, she was like, or unless, I mean, there's this fence here that we could hop. I was like, this is my redemption.
Starting point is 00:19:41 This is where I get my money back. Get the turn on the camera. Um, so this is where i get my money back get the turn on the camera um so this is my redemption so this woman and i scheme we're like okay right when the bride stands up and she starts walking down the aisle because what you're supposed to do a wedding year old woman by herself yeah okay i think maybe her husband yeah maybe her husband was like she went and sat with somebody afterwards but she was with her it was just me and her so you and her are scheming because you dropped katherine off dropped katherine off okay so katherine's like standing in the back of the She went and sat with somebody afterwards, but she was with her. It was just me and her. So you and her are scheming because you dropped Catherine off, dropped Catherine off.
Starting point is 00:20:06 So Catherine's like standing in the back of the, like this, like crowd. Cause there's, I think there was probably three extra seats in the whole place. Good estimated correctly. I guess. Don't love it. I have an extra 10 seats if you want to.
Starting point is 00:20:20 I should say before we get too far into the story that the fence was like three feet tall. It was a short fence. Still three feet. Yeah. I mean, in a talks, I mean, big enough to keep an advertised dog in for sure.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Three feet, maybe a little bit, three feet. Okay. I'll go three feet. Um, and so our plan was like, you know,
Starting point is 00:20:37 whenever the bride comes, you're supposed to like follow the bride down the aisle. Right. You know that like with what your eyes and every, everything. What are you talking about? Your whole body? Like, so like the bride, the bride comes down the aisle right you know that like with what your eyes and every everything what what are you talking about your whole body like so like the bride comes down the aisle and you you you look at her and as she's walking down your shoulders yeah you don't just stay right here as the bride's going this way you're like you you and so we're like okay when the bride's
Starting point is 00:20:57 halfway down that's when we go for it yeah because then they're all looking this way yeah and so this woman's like she goes first and i was like do you want me to help you do you want me to help you and she's like kind of awkward she's like no just don't look at me because she has like a dress on and she's like i don't know what i'm grabbing here and then i just michael the tony on the table so i just hop over and stand in the back for the whole wedding you got over i got over baby so brad ellis overcame he's back to fence hopping i'm at least half fence hopping i'll tell my uncle at christmas actually that's what i'll get my uncle for christmas the the the victory and the satisfaction knowing that you can hop just as an intangible reward yeah i know you've been wanting this so anyway that that's austin for you wow did you
Starting point is 00:21:41 enjoy austin yeah i i feel like it was a pretty quick, quick time. I really enjoyed hanging out. I got to hang out with my cousin who lives there and I got to hang out with Catherine's brother and sister-in-law and that was all really fun. So nice. Yeah, it was great. Round Rock. You ever been to downtown Round Rock is dope. Downtown Round Rock. That's where the wedding was. And that's also where we went to barbecue with my cousin. It's really, really cute little place. Did you get a chance to look at the rocks check out only the square ones so dang yeah you order something hey can i get that on the round rocks sure they think that's hilarious yeah yeah i didn't um but yeah it was a fun time uh you said that you've had an old man thing and that jogged like three different things for me i
Starting point is 00:22:20 can only remember two of them right now oh yeah one. One. I had an old man. Yeah. Yeah. The no music and no dancing. Yeah. One. I had kind of an old man thing yesterday. I ran an 800 meter dash. Yes. In 43 degree weather. And when I got done the recovery time for me to get back to like a normal heartbeat
Starting point is 00:22:35 or normal, like breathing level was very, very sad. And I was like, Oh, I'm like turning a corner on adulthood. I don't know if that's old man. I think it's just out of shape, man, because I've been feeling that way since birth. I think I think it was 1990. Like I remember certain football practices where I would come home, like I would drive all the way home. I would get in my shower and I'd be like halfway through my shower and I'm still like
Starting point is 00:22:59 wheezing a little bit from like from because you're from high school because at the end you're running 40, 40 sprints and it's like, Oh, when everyone's in the best shape of their life. I know it was, it was usually like summertime. So it was like summer waste, humid, humid. Yeah. Muggy. It's so funny to imagine you a third of the way through a shower. It's still like, Oh, when's this going to stop? It was just like, like, it wasn't like truly like panting it was more just like like like you know that feeling of like i feel like there's metal in my mouth right now yes that's what i felt like for a long time i said it feels like there's like a like a
Starting point is 00:23:34 cold cave in my throat like my my throat has become like frozen over cold cave i don't know like an igloo it was my i felt weird to breathe yep so maybe this or maybe it's just being out of shape and running in the winter yeah but it was just like sad and like kind of scary i was like man i'm still right still not back yet uh that's so funny and i also imagine you like that scene from tommy boy where he sprints to class and he like sitting in the desk he's just like sitting there just like the whole desk is moving because he's breathing so hard he's sweating on his paper and the professor just like shakes his head dude yeah like yeah it's it's hard being a big guy man i'm sure like uh in in high school like during weights class i would i mean i would sweat so much yeah so much like and like first of
Starting point is 00:24:16 all people would laugh at like like if we ever had to like sit-ups or anything like you could see where i was on the floor yeah yeah yeah oh Brad, look at all that sweat. And I'm like, yeah, I'm a sweater. And so then it was like, I had this like awful choice to like, either you have to shower and they give you like seven minutes of shower, not enough time, not enough time. It's not like you see on the movies, like hit the showers. Like everyone's like, okay, go, go change. And two people that are sweaty, you have seven minutes to be in your next class. So it's like, where, where's my class? How far do I have? And so it's just one of those things where like, and it's the same way at camp. Like anytime you're really,
Starting point is 00:24:49 really sweaty, you don't just stop sweating the minute that you take a shower. No, you need to be back in like a normal, like, you know, environment a little bit, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:56 like normal temperature, like Spanish three with Mrs. Camber, just sitting there and just dripping sweat. And just like, like, like feeling like, feeling like your shirt is like
Starting point is 00:25:05 hugging you the entire time and you had to put your jeans back on yeah and you're like learning the preterite you're like okay uh if we stay yeah whatever like it's just so bad man so that's yeah it's it is you don't stop sweating you don't stop wheezing for a while it's just a rough rough time so that was too bad yeah my other old man thing which hopefully this doesn't spoil the story too much but yesterday i'm leaving trey's house i decided to go to long boards inside of hy-vee arena i'm like it's real close by why not it's just it would be more efficient i'd like a 30 minute drive ahead of me so it's like if i can eat now it's okay it made sense efficiency wise no okay it does trey lives right by Hy-Vee arena. Okay. You're right.
Starting point is 00:25:46 But, but like Hy-Vee arena, if anybody's ever been there and maybe am I going to give it away by saying too much right now? No, no, no. Go for it. I mean, it's a basketball arena that you have to go inside. You have to like, like there's, it's not like a, it's not like, Oh, park right here and walk in real quick. It's like, it's like a, it's a, it's a jaunt.
Starting point is 00:26:02 It's a Santi. You have to go up an escalator. If that tells you that you have to go up, I i would say i would say if you have a fitbit app you're probably getting 150 your steps going there and back like you're doing just fine walking there benefit you're the only one in the entire arena that doesn't work at longboards it is empty in there i can't believe they're just open during the day they must primarily door dash or something okay i can't imagine that many people doing what i'm doing anyway so i go to hy-vee arena which i lost or fully expecting it to be empty right like who could possibly be here at 3 p.m and as i'm pulling
Starting point is 00:26:34 up i see so many cars in the parking lot and then what i notice is like it seems like every city bus in the entire kansas city area is in the parking lot like the blue buses and the red but like the bus would go up and down like transport yeah like grand street and joe yeah yeah yeah the kc max and like the kc bus like those huge public buses i mean there's probably between 60 and 80 buses in the hy-vee parking lot really there's cones everywhere and so uh i'm like oh this is interesting but not thinking honestly a ton of it just like whatever there's always stuff going on whatever okay but but you've already been inside at this point or no no this is like me pulling up to the parking lot just kind of surveying it like what's something's
Starting point is 00:27:11 going on okay i try to pull the parking lot there's a guy there in a jeep and a lawn chair he stops me and he's like uh what are you doing today or what are you what are you doing here well just filmed a video with my friend so are you familiar with it youtubers are you what are you doing here well just filmed a video with my friend so are you familiar with it youtubers are you more tick-tocking and i was like i'm uh i'm just and i can already tell this is like already like more like i'm not here for the reason it's not everyone else yeah you're not gonna give the right answer so i just need to kind of chuckle like i i don't know what's going on i'm just here to get a burrito i like i don't even know if he knows i'm like you're gonna walk all the way up there just to get a burrito by yourself like i don't know who he is so i'm like explaining him i'm like there's like a there's
Starting point is 00:27:46 a burrito place in there that i've like i called it like i've ordered and he's not stopping me so i feel like i need to keep explaining it you know like at any point you're like you know it's like i'm just gonna go in there grab my burrito come out whatever but he's dressed normal it wasn't like he was in a tux and really intimidate or a suit i should say no thank you and really intimidating but uh he's just like oh all right yeah go ahead just kind of follow those buses and go around those cones he gave me a lot of directions where to park didn't really pay much attention i was just like well you're in your car at this point yeah yeah okay i'm like i'm just gonna park as close as i can and i'm glad i asked
Starting point is 00:28:17 this because as i was about to leave i was like just out of curiosity like what's happening right now yeah he points over to what could be the side of the parking lot it's just somewhere over to my right he goes ah president biden's over there oh no way i said what i had heard about him being in town but i didn't know see i didn't even know he was in town but i only knew that because one of my isaac hodges like instagrammed it see i had seen nothing i had heard nothing i am learning this from a guy out in a lawn chair outside of hy-vee arena who is pointing where i guess our president is. And I was like, what right now? He's like, yeah. I was like, so what, how, like, imagine I went in, I went into this conversation having one question, which was what's going on today.
Starting point is 00:28:57 And I left with 45 questions, you know, I should have said 46. That would have been good. What's he doing there? What's he doing? Is he literally right over there? Or are you pointing at like a high rise? Is anybody allowed to go look over there? Why do we need 60 city buses to be nearby? What are all these cars doing? Why does it seem like there's no one like doing security right now?
Starting point is 00:29:18 Like no, like sedate or like, you know, escalades or, you know, secret service things, secret service things, pedestrians. OK, OK. Did you see like a crowd of people no no people what and you would think like oh maybe some people parked in hy-vee arena and then they took the buses to the event but all the buses are in the in the parking lot and president biden's right over there perplexing i don't know where he is it was it was one of those moments like i really really wanted someone nearby me or just in the car with me because i'm just having to make the, the saunter jaunt. It's a long walk to think about like, man, I'm really close to president Biden.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Okay. So did you look it up on your phone? No, come on. No, I didn't. I should have, I got that burrito and I ate it the whole way home, but that was kind of fun. Wow. I didn't even write that down.
Starting point is 00:30:02 I'm glad you said old man or else I would have forgot. Somehow that didn't even make my podcast notes. I love how you thought I was going to like, be able to crack that code as you were telling the story. Like, I hope this doesn't give it away with the old man thing. Like, surely you think I'm going to say I saw Biden in the parking lot. That'd be a funny thing to start doing. Like just tell a story that no one could ever predict. Now I hope I haven't said too much. Just tell a story that like, no, that like that make people uncomfortable it'd be pretty funny if it's like now like yeah like you see where this is going right and just stop like and just wait for them like no maybe i'll practice it now okay so i
Starting point is 00:30:35 had some comedy shows this week oh yeah and now you probably know what's gonna happen next yeah hopefully i haven't like given it away too much like my previous stories but yeah i um i performed in portland this week no really yeah yeah that's what i was gonna say yeah yeah because of biden yeah yeah because in the the red and blue yep vans yeah exactly yeah how was how was uh pacific northwest i mean you probably know how no okay i'm done oh you probably you probably can guess you probably you see where it's going. You see where it's going. Yeah. The all-new FanDuel Sportsbook and Casino is bringing you more action than ever. Want more ways to follow your faves?

No, it was really good. It was a really good set of shows,
Starting point is 00:33:31 really good venues, really good crowds, so many solid ghosties. We have so many West Coast ghosties. Really? I don't know if they're just driving really far to these cities or if they're all in these cities already,
Starting point is 00:33:40 but yeah, really fun times with them. So we got Portlandland seattle sack town lax and den den homeless den okay but really fun just really good time it was so nice to be performing with a throat that felt good again yeah boy it was fun was it did it feel like you had taken a little hiatus or was it just like here we go again like here we're back not as much as it kind of felt at one point really yeah yeah because when i was i think i was podcasting last week i was like it's gonna feel like forever but yeah we're back yeah we're fine yeah it wasn't too bad so uh really fun i'm trying to think what stood out oh this is a bummer and
Starting point is 00:34:17 like i've said you know the good so far outweighs the bad with everything on tour but it's just like sometimes the bad is well it's more story worthy it's not just like it's not that entertaining it's easier to remember everything went really well again you know it's not as fun as the story so trending currently trending of this week was venues not liking me could have worded that better could have thought of a better title okay all right let me try to remember the order of how this all went. I think maybe I wrote it down. So the Portland show. So fun. So many ghosties.
Starting point is 00:34:49 So there is a double header. After the first show, they kicked everyone out of the lobby. They wouldn't let me go to the lobby because I know we got a double header. You can't even go out there and see them. And I was like, oh, I really would like to see them. You know, they came all the way here. The least I can do is like chat with them, maybe take a picture. Like, no, you can't go out there. I was like six, six, six out there i was like six six six six okay cool cool cool like we do this every time that we have a double header though like we can go hang out yeah so
Starting point is 00:35:12 luckily ghosties are the nicest people in the world so many of them all stick around or they went out to eat and they're like we're gonna come back after a second show and see you how'd you communicate that with them instagram.com love it nikita oh okay you recognize the name she was the one who like her and her friends made custom uh yeah she made she gave you this oh let's oh that's right and she yeah custom pickleball shirts yes yeah she plays pickleball she's a woodworker yes she got you some things made of wood she made something for bow one time i have so Oh, that was another thing. That was currently trending this week.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I've got more gifts than I've ever gotten in my life from Ghost Hunters fans. This is the season. I would say, and this is sad, but like, it's just the fact of the matter. I was only able to bring home about 20% of what I was given. What? I just, there was so much. I only have one. And you're, yeah, you're flying.
Starting point is 00:35:59 We flew and we even flew from LA to Denver and then Denver at home. So it was like multiple flights and we're not keeping the bus. bus okay so let's talk about all the ones that you didn't keep no you guys just have to guess like oh i hope mine made the cut i don't know wow um that's amazing so that was currently trending but oh yeah so i finally get to leave uh or go out to the lobby after the second portland show and there's probably like 35 Ghost Hunters fans What waiting outside the venue they make like a tunnel for me I'll say the most besides Kansas City it had to have been it felt like he's five is so many It was basically like the Kansas City tunnel. Yes, I had for me, but it was only ghost hunters fans It was so fun. I just chatted with all them kind of at the same time for like, you know, 45 minutes
Starting point is 00:36:41 Maybe 30 minutes. It was getting pretty cold or else. I would have chatted longer but I'm like, wow, that was so fun. That was so sweet. I'm going to go back to the van, the buses or the bus because it's leaving soon. I'm trying to get in the venue. It's locked. There's a homeless man on the other side. He won't let me in.
Starting point is 00:36:59 I can't solve the riddle that he's giving me. Quite frankly, it makes no sense. I don't even know if it's a riddle, really. He asked me, what is Biden doing in Kansas City next week? I don't know and it's a code for something then i look to my left i'm like trying to find other doors and i look and see that my luggage has been thrown out onto the sidewalk of what like just like a public sidewalk like my backpack my um check bag my camera like all that is in like the street basically like somebody could have easily walked up and just taken your stuff taking it and also like the venue door is locked like i don't know if they got everything like did you get like my jacket that was right do you have my second
Starting point is 00:37:32 pair of shoes did you get my camera on my computer oh my gosh threw my stuff out and tom was like yeah these guys are really hard to work with i'm not surprised they did that so he kind of had my back he's like that's not normal i'm sorry whatever wow all right well whatever ty was awesome whatever you know whatever still like like tom like like if you knew that i don't know yeah i don't know who's 2020 but yeah i'm sorry tommy tommy next night's sacramento uh it's kind of fun to get in and out of the venue this night we had to go through what tom kept calling the murder alley and it truly was a little oh i think i sent you a video i was like this is the alley that i have to go through to get in the venue was that in the yeah i think that was in the
Starting point is 00:38:09 video i sent you to with the with the fans uh-huh oh really okay i was i watched that i watched that like right before i went to bed didn't watch all of it i guess i think i watched all of it either way when i closed it was it was truly i mean it was it was pretty well lit so it wasn't that scary but it was just truly just like you get some interesting people on there as i'm leaving like that night probably midnight there is a man crouching at a full-on spider-man costume and his face is covered too like i have no idea who this person is he's just crouching in the alley like looking at me it's like i guess i'm just gonna wheel my bags past him and like hope he doesn't like do anything you are so susceptible when you have wheels on your back.
Starting point is 00:38:46 I'm pretty loud. It's pretty clanky. And I mean, he's in like a very like springy position. Was he just, did he do that? Like, did you see him? And then he crouched out or was it like he was already crouched the whole time? I don't know how long he'd been crouched. He could be sleeping like an owl at this point.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Like, we don't know. The reason I was extra scared is because earlier in the day. No, it's because that guy's in a Spider-Man costume in an alley with a mascot. at this point like we don't know the reason i was extra scared is because earlier in the day no it's because that guy's a spider-man costume in an alley with a mascot that's why there's no there's no reason to be extra scared after that like that's it normally i would have liked it but i would have thought this was a playful thing but sacramento is known for their spider-man earlier in the day alan was walking into the venue and a homeless man was hiding behind a dumpster and jumped out just to scare alan just
Starting point is 00:39:25 like oh and alan said it was one of the top three most terrifying things in his life 100 that would be terrifying it's just so funny to think about alan just being terrified and just homeless man just being like yeah i'm just gonna scare this guy out of all of you guys alan would be the one if i were homeless that i'd go after like he just got like uh that guy looks like he'd be scared he would jump if i moved out of my thing yeah so like this could be another jumper i don't know what's gonna happen anyway i forgot about all that the the venue though i finally get out to the lobby which is so fun i forgot like i've known people like every show like 20 shows in a row now it's so fun like known friends who are there um do you remember glenn and carrie higgins they uh helped out with blue canoe in like 2014
Starting point is 00:40:03 anyway they're at the Seattle show. I know that name. Yeah, it's fun. SBU? Yeah, good. Okay. Maddie Kramer. Maybe you've seen her now.
Starting point is 00:40:10 I think she's ordered merch from us a time or two. She's from Kansas City, right? Yeah, from Kansas City. Can't make a friend. Auburn War Eagle. Lives in like Napa Valley now. Oh, cool. Came to Sacramento show.
Starting point is 00:40:18 So I go out to see her. I met her. Oh, that's right. She ordered some from me too. Nice girl. Great girl. Didn't even realize there were going to be ghosties in Sacramento. Thank goodness I went out to the lobby.
Starting point is 00:40:27 There's so many of them. It's so fun. There's a Christmas tree in the lobby. I'm like, let's take some pictures of the Christmas tree. Get some vibes up in here, dude. Almost right away, this old man who looked similar to the old man from the Six Flags commercials back in the day. He's working security on it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:42 And he's like, all right, why don't we wrap it up it's time to go home and uh whippersnappers hey there's a spider-man cat party out back if you want to come out there he hands me like a batman costume like see you out back go on out there marvel marvel comic universe so i do the thing that I've gotten. I think plenty of ghosties are seeing it now where I have to be. It's an awkward thing to say, but you're like, oh, I was actually one of the performers tonight. Should we? Yeah, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:41:14 And every time they're always like, oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry. And I'm like, oh, no worries. Like, I get it. I look normal. I get it. You know, I'm very polite. Very nice. I don't hold anything against him.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Old man River doesn't care. I don't care who you are. I don't give a rat's behind who you are i'm late for my soap opera's out back cne has a rerun of dr quinn medicine woman and i'm not missing it's the best of matlock i matlock don't wait for no so i'm like oh right away that's pretty rude he's like I don't care who you are we got to get out of here I was like well these people all came to like see the show and see me and I want to meet them like how much time do we have and he said ah just make it quick but then not only did he say make it quick but he then took a step closer to me like crosses his
Starting point is 00:42:02 arms like in front of him and like stands next to me like six inches from me like he's protecting you at this point yeah like i was like did i say a code word at any point that meant like protect me like no i think i couldn't have made it more clear that i want to be here yeah and i was surprised that this like came out of my mouth but it just felt like a couple rude things that are way in a row and i was just like can we like maybe get some like space please please? It was just like weird. Like he was like very protective of the lobby and wanted to stand six inches from me. And he said, no can do. And I was like, you can't,
Starting point is 00:42:31 you can't like move away from me. And this way I'm not like frustrated. I'm kind of just like laughing. I'm just like, this is just so strange. And like probably 15 ghosties are hearing this conversation now, but so just like kind of awkward. And like, I would much rather be talking to them.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Oh, I love these kind of conversations. No can do. And like, you can't like move away from me. He's like kind of awkward and like i would much rather be talking to them oh i love these kind of conversations no can do and like you can't like move away from me he's like no i was like i just don't i don't know if you need to hear every word i say and he goes that's my job oh and i said you should work for amazon i thought that was pretty funny joke in the moment he did not laugh okay shocker and um so he just kind of stood there by me while i talked to ghosties for a while. And so I'm like, all right, I guess he's got to give me some more time. But then shortly after another guy comes out, it's like everybody out, everybody out right now.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I told you. You didn't listen to me. So I just got kicked out. I mean, maybe six minutes into my time in the lobby. So that's a bummer. I don't know. Maybe it's a bad idea. So just shut it down if you don't like it, but like maybe you need to start having like a specified,
Starting point is 00:43:27 like after party place for ghosties. Is that, is that too, too involved? We have somewhat of a, well, yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Yeah. Maybe it's cause something, something like that, either, either, either somebody needs to organize it within like the own ghosty community and you can either come or not come, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:43 whatever. And it can be like, you can hang out with Jake for a while and then either go to this thing or not go to say whatever but like yeah i don't know i don't know if that's on the reddit page or whatever that we have but there's something like that because that's just a bummer like it was a bummer it's a bummer for you it's more for them you know like this is a time in your life where you have all the time in the world to talk to people you know yeah and i'm sure like if i listen like i'm thinking about podcast i listen to i would love to have the time of day to like talk to those people if they wanted to talk to me yeah i don't want to get kicked out i think you need
Starting point is 00:44:11 we need to start making merch that says i'm jake triplet i was part of the show and it's my post show outfit you take it you put it on every single uh post show i say i was actually one of the performers tonight i think that's my sentence that That's it. I say, actually, like, it's hard for me to believe, too. It turns out. Yeah, I was actually one of the guys. Or maybe. Yeah. Either that or like we all coordinate like every single person that wants to hang out
Starting point is 00:44:33 with Jake after the show has to get this one T-shirt. And then you're also wearing the T-shirt. So then it looks like you're all just like family. Yeah. Yeah. It looks like. Yeah. We're family.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Like a theme park. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Tie dye. Exactly. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Exactly. Exactly. So that reminds me of the the social network that line he's like exactly exactly you know what i'm talking about no i can imagine him saying that but i can't imagine it's like where justin timberlake comes in and he's like saying all these things that mark zuckerberg had been saying to his business partner the whole time yeah they're like it's not time to monetize it like it's time to just say this is fun we don't even know what it is yet exactly exactly he's like he's like not even like able to like get the words out before he's like yeah yes exactly yes yes so the next night is la specifically riverside really fun great show uh sorry for auburn magoon was there she's from san diego she drove a little ways drove a little ways she claimed that she was
Starting point is 00:45:19 already in the area sure do we buy it like she should give us a little pop-off action yeah classic pop-off now i believe you but my tummy gun don't i knew you were gonna get that anyway so this is oh this is this is my i'm more excited to tell you this story than anyone else of the entire week okay and there were three it was a mom and like three daughters who were nearby and they're ghost hunters fans so you guys can verify that this is exactly how it went down it was giselle and her daughters who went to california baptist and they know my friend who went there will kenny will cunningham and a guy comes up and like kind of pushes his way through these women
Starting point is 00:45:57 not like super aggressively but still like clearly there's a line it's their turn he just comes up bro bro arm is up real high goes to dab me up just wanted to say nothing wrong with sloppy thirds you know and i'm just trying to take in what this means because i'm like around women yes you know and sloppy seconds would maybe be used thirds i'm like there's four of them so but just quickly i say what what do you mean by that just truly like what do you mean by that he goes well i mean you know there's an order to everything nothing wrong with being third man i still enjoy the show i was like oh okay um thanks for coming dude i appreciate it thank you for being here he's like yeah man see you later so he was basically saying you were the third i think yeah he did not
Starting point is 00:46:45 enjoy me push through these women to come up doubt me i'll be like dude hey bro you were my least favorite just want to hate on you real quick with like a backhanded compliment and like do in front of all these people you mind and oh you don't understand what i'm saying i'm saying that you sucked but you still i still enjoyed you a lot. Still though. Nothing wrong with bronze. And while I do it, I'm going to use terminology that doesn't quite make sense. No, it's a very common thing in California. It's just sloppy. We're from the heartland.
Starting point is 00:47:13 So we don't, we don't say that. Sloppy seconds would be like, I think bro, just your typical bro. Yeah, bro. I didn't. Yeah. Just the, the term sloppy thirds. It even makes sense. Well, yeah, that would have, that would have pridefully driven me crazy. Cause I'll be like,
Starting point is 00:47:28 there's, there's no, there's no reason to call me third. Like I was second. You could have called me sloppy second. I went second. Like, like there's no, there's no reason to be like, Jake was the third best comedian or the third most prioritized comedian that night. Cause that's not true at all. The first guy goes first because he's the worst i mean theoretically it was it was truly okay i didn't take any offense to it if you could see this guy's body language it's like this is a guy who has no social awareness he's probably drunk i wouldn't i wouldn't take anything he says seriously even if he was like you know like to tell me about what he does for a living let alone what he thinks of me so i was like this is just this is a great story now hey bro nothing wrong
Starting point is 00:48:05 with sloppy thirds it was such a fascinating sentence and he's right i think we should start saying that more often there's nothing wrong with sloppy thirds can you imagine like yeah no can you imagine getting upset at having sloppy imagine thinking yeah sloppy thirds is wrong like i don't care if there's like you know ranch on the side of the play and then you got some jello with some other stuff and then you throw mashed potatoes on there there's nothing wrong with like you're going back for more get some more i have a story for you and i can't i can't figure out a way to tell it on the podcast right now those are my favorite i i don't think there's a way to do it maybe for a patreon or something oh that reminds me one i feel like i've been neglecting the five dollar patrons i need to
Starting point is 00:48:44 get like a just jake episode out my throat's feeling good yeah i'm not home ever but i'll figure it out uh uploaded some footage it's not up yet but it will be by the time this comes out of a little joke from the portland show i've started filming my shows oh fun how just i brought my own camera and tripod just film in the back oh really oh that was the other thing and then the denver show sorry oh wait i'm not even talking about the venue sorry i'm still on currently training real quick great um so la show super fun sloppy thirds i talked to go sees for forever go to auburn ragoon's car because she has a gift for me come back so it's a little bit of a journey get back and the door is locked again to get i'm like dang it i just feel like i'm like constantly being a bother to like tom in the venue and i think it's locked a goon
Starting point is 00:49:28 once a goon once a goon here we find ourselves in this predicament oh brie what a goonundrum it's it's locked so i have to go in the bus i have to go find tom and i say hey i'm sorry can you like get a hold of someone in the venue like the door is locked again and it seems like tom's kind of frustrated at me and so i'm like i'm apologizing i'm like apologizing to everyone because they're like it seemed like they're all waiting on the bus for me to go to a hotel because we're flying to dinner the next day like ah people please here i hate this i'm so sorry i didn't know this was gonna be the case and they were probably like not even saying anything specifically were they no they didn't say anything i just kept apologizing but the fact that they were like overly nice as a midwestern people could be angry like yeah they're not saying
Starting point is 00:50:08 like dude it's totally fine don't worry about it whatsoever like they might be really mad they could be living i don't know they just said don't worry about it that's all they said though yeah it could have been better but you should have heard the tone that you should have seen his sloppy third body language so i'm like apologizing and then tom's kind of like um you know i think we need to come up with like a plan to make sure that doesn't keep happening oh that that sounds and a little bit more upset it's always like he's like i just don't think the venues are expecting it and all i said was and i admit this i was just like i just i find it hard to believe that like i'm the first guy in history to like talk to people after a show or like what
Starting point is 00:50:45 if we were a concert we would be going till 11 p.m a night like of course i am on the i'm back at the bus by 9 45 like this is very reasonable you know like it's a saturday night i think that's all i said i was like i just find it hard to believe that these venues are so shocked and so perplexed that a performer would want to stay out a little late right and tom said this is actually kind of cool i don't know if he meant it to be a compliment but he said well i've been doing this 25 years and i've never seen somebody talk to their fans as much as you do so i was like wow he was he might have been like kind of frustrated but i was like oh that's cool thank you yeah sweet i had no idea i truly would have thought this is more normal why would you not talk to you interesting yeah like that that'd be half the fun right like
Starting point is 00:51:23 like if you're just going and performing and then going back to the bus okay it loses a little bit of like the human aspect to it or just like the meaningfulness of like what we're doing i think laughter sounds pretty much the same no matter what city you're in write that down chicken noodle soup for the soul use that in stanbury yeah guys i just want to close with something that's been on my heart lately i know hey guys i know we had a lot of fun today that's like the christian camp thing guys i know we've had a lot of fun and uh trust me my my belly's feeling it but and then you get into it but listen we can laughter sounds the same no matter if you're in portland omaha nebraska or montgomery alabama but what's different is when you talk to people
Starting point is 00:52:00 and you realize they're way different speaking of portland i think antifa's up to something what do you guys think you're really conservative that's funny interesting though that you're not yeah that you're just communicating with your fans more than normal so truly now we have a game plan so when we got to denver tom's like all right i talked to the venue as long i i worked with him we compromised as long as you're back you need to be out of your room by 10 30 do you think you can do that i was like yeah i think i can so we from now on i have a curfew of like when i need to be packed and out of the green room that's amazing it's like it's hey we're solving problems that's fine it's just funny to think that this would become a problem oh yeah jake's wanting to talk to his respectful fans for 30 minutes all these people paying all this money
Starting point is 00:52:42 to watch him he wants He wants to acknowledge him. Yeah. Individually. Yeah. Oh, a bunch of chicks his age? Not really. Not even? No, not.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Oh, a mom and her three kids? Yeah. That's more like it. Yeah. Sloppy thirds. Yeah. Oh, is he signing autographs? Where is he signing autographs?
Starting point is 00:52:59 Mainly like pickleball paddles. Mainly. Sometimes the pickleball balls. Uh-huh. Yeah. Have you gotten better at your autograph? I don't know if like your actual handwriting is some of the worst handwriting ever. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Yeah. Maybe not the worst, but it's bad. I would say I'm getting better at signing a pickleball paddle. Yeah. I've done probably like seven of those now. Have you really? Yeah. You think they play with them still?
Starting point is 00:53:21 Or you think they like hang them up at that point? I've never watched this again. I hope they play with them because the Or do you think they like hang them up at that point? I've never watched this again. I hope they play with them. Cause the ones I've signed have not been like the cheap ones. Like that seems like the paddle they use to play with what they're doing. That's good. So, um,
Starting point is 00:53:33 anyway, you got any updates? I've been talking for a while. Um, yeah, I got some updates. Let's see. Oh,
Starting point is 00:53:38 um, we've just been doing a lot of Christmasy things these, these days. Oh, what for, um, for Christmas. Oh,
Starting point is 00:53:44 okay. Uh, our church had something like a christmas program i guess we call it kansas christmas very very creative name um we went to that and it was really great like i as as we were going it was like this on december 6th or whatever like yeah why are we doing this so early but it was awesome because it was like so often i think I wait until way longer into the season to like, like I do so much to like gear up to like have a break for like Christmas gear up. You know what I mean? Like, no, I just don't think about, or I don't like reflect on Christmas enough. So it was pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:54:16 And then we also went and did this like Christmas lights show at, um, at central church of the Nazarene, I think is what it's called. Anyway. Uh, I say that specifically because there were some ghosties working this thing. So it was like this drive-through lights thing, which is kind of a new thing, but it was really, really cool.
Starting point is 00:54:34 You literally, they have a path and you drive and they tell you the Christmas story. These people reenact it. Is this for kids or is this for me? 100% for kids. I mean, not 100%. No, you said 100. You said 100.
Starting point is 00:54:45 It would be. I'm not going. It'd be weird if you went by yourself. Exactly. If you want some friends, maybe. What if? But it was awesome. Like you had, they had popcorn.
Starting point is 00:54:55 Oh. Hot chocolate. Oh. Cookies. And Santa. That reminds me of something. What? I might have had a breakthrough.
Starting point is 00:55:04 80% of the things you you threw away were cookies weren't they what oh no no i ate a lot of cookies and then like threw away some of the remainder but my tick bite red meat allergy yes that sugar molecule that technically i'm allergic to is red meat and gelatin i've always considered gelatin like marshmallow right okay then it was brought to my attention wait jake you just said you're allergic to gelatin last week i saw you eat an entire bag of gummy worms holy cow those are filled with gelatin those things are practically gelatin magnets am i cured so then i google i'm like first let me make sure a gelatin is even what i like maybe it was a different g word and i've had it confused all the time it's like no alpha
Starting point is 00:55:43 gal you're allergic to gelatin and then one of the google autofill things is i can't go away and it like i feel like i saw this once but i didn't believe it but then i saw this article it's like the alpha gal allergy in certain cases has gone away after one to two years okay we're past it certain cases i mean you already are a modern like marvel strongest man alive yeah so why wouldn't i fight this off did we ever officially confirm that you were allergic to red meat we did not okay because my theory the whole time is like i think that some i don't know if he's officially there's no way four out of four four out of four four out of four what like four times that week that i had oh yeah those are the only four times i had red meat those are the only four times i got
Starting point is 00:56:22 sick in like a 10 day span. Yeah, that's true. It was pretty like bonafide to me. So what are you going to do? Here's what I'm thinking. Yeah. Next week or next time I find myself in a restaurant that has like mac and cheese with bacon, we say, come on. OK, so I'm not going like full steak, not going full burger. OK, but it's like I'm not picking off the bacon.
Starting point is 00:56:39 OK, so we eat some bacon bits, you know, but make sure that's real bacon. Good bacon bits aren't real big uh i don't think i'm not positive i think it just tastes like anyway keep talking about the lights i just got excited we were mentioning food i was like oh breakthrough no yeah the the lights were i don't know just i'm just getting to the point in my life and in my dad dadhood fatherhood that just like everything's becoming like sentimental and emotional dude i'm getting soft too in a good way like i'm not scared of soft. No, no, I love it. Yeah. Like Catherine, Catherine kind of makes fun of me a little
Starting point is 00:57:09 bit because- Oh, Catherine, let us be soft. But then again, she's sentimental too. But like, like during this thing, like, you know, near the end of it, like they were like, did you hear Jesus born? And like, and like, so, so Hattie and Bo were like sitting in the front seat with us. We had like the sunroof open. So Hattie was like, like peeking her head out the whole time. And she was like, you know, just learning about the story and like, I mean, she already knew the story, but like, yeah, getting it one more and more times. And there's just like, so emotional for me of like, this is awesome. Like this is what life is supposed to be like. So, um, but yeah, I've been especially drawn to businesses really
Starting point is 00:57:40 going on with the Christmas decor. Yeah. I'm not like tearing up or anything, but I'm like long boards. I mean, Hy-Vee arena, I forget what airport we were in recently this week but like they went all out the escalators are decorated everything has got a wreath on everything's got garland i'm like this is awesome yeah i appreciate this you need to come over you're coming over for the cheese game so yeah i thought over and see i feel like we've we've like had so much christmas stuff all of a sudden it's like okay you told me it all of a sudden. It's like, okay. You told me three days. Yeah. It's amazing. Like, like then, then I go, cause I remember Trey was like, yeah, we put out a lot of stuff for Christmas and I was like, oh, okay, cool, cool.
Starting point is 00:58:10 And I walk over Trey's house. It's like, so when you put this stuff up, six trees, like, like a couple of like, yeah, a little vases that weren't broken yet. And I was like, oh, okay, nice. Um, but anyway, uh, yeah, we did that. We did the yeah church thing and then last night we had a mother's day out christmas program that had he was in oh is this her first time performing in theater yes so the very end of the awana year last year she was supposed to go up on stage
Starting point is 00:58:37 she was the one kid out of like 30 kids that didn't go up there i don't know if i told that it's kind of sound familiar yeah and it was just like it was just like daughter. Just like, it was like, if we, if we tell her to go or like try to force her, she'll just throw a huge tantrum. And so we're really like, we're like, I think she knows, like, she's excited a little bit about this. And so we get there, she does her mother's day out, um, at a church down South. And, um, so we get there and I was expecting like, literally like similar to this Awana thing where it's like only these like preschool kids, like going up on stage and doing a little thing takes like 20 minutes and then it's over. We walk in, it's like their
Starting point is 00:59:14 church's big, like Christmas program. Oh. And so it's like, it's like this ad, like dim lights. And it's got like a whole huge band, like she's like trombones and trumpets and like all this stuff. Miles Davis. Yes. From last week. Yeah, exactly. And I mean, it was like a production and like these,
Starting point is 00:59:30 the worship band played like four or five songs and we were like doing worship songs. And Catherine's like, there's no way how he goes up. There's no way she goes up there. Um, and then it's like, okay,
Starting point is 00:59:40 it's time for our, uh, you know, preschoolers to come on up and had he got up there and I mean, she didn't kill it by any means, but she was excited to be up there. Uh, yeah. And ever since then, it's like, we've created a monster. It's like, she's a performer now. She's a hundred percent of performer. I love that. She like, like today I got home and she was out on the deck, like so excited. She's like, I'm just about to start my butterfly, um, you know, program for mom.
Starting point is 01:00:05 And I guess Catherine told me like, yeah, Hattie said earlier, like, you know, whenever I'm done, if you want to ask me to do it again, I can, because I love when people clap for me and I'm like, Oh boy, here she goes. And we, we really talked it up after she did it. We were like, you were the best one out there or you're my favorite one out there. And then this morning I was like, Whoa, is that the superstar Hattie Ellis from last night? You know? But it was really cute to see her like be excited to be up there. It's good to see her. Yeah. Do it. Just like have the courage to stand up there.
Starting point is 01:00:35 And when she got done last night, she was the only one out of, out of everybody to bow. Like they started clapping and she bowed and everyone else just stood there. It was like, that's awesome. Yeah. I don't know if anybody told her to bow or where she got that from. Cause Catherine like often, like, well, she'll be like, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Just joking. That's so funny. Uh, anyway. So yeah. Hattie's how he's becoming more and more of a superstar. And then Bo, did you see those, uh, that dance moves? He was getting after it. Oh my gosh, dude. Like,
Starting point is 01:01:03 yeah. If you follow me on instagram ls custom creations i posted it and i i just i i just synced it up with so many different songs it was great i could do that i might do it multiple more days because it's so fun um just watching him do his little shuffle dance thing he like took his left arm up and just threw it down yeah like and he he'll do that like and yeah even like five six months ago he was kind of nae nae in like, it's just, it's just funny how he has like this sense of like, how to dance like that. But, um, I don't know. I feel like I'm going to say this for a long time in my life, but I feel like the kids are just in like my favorite, like, how do you so fun? And like, it's like, this is so like, you're so fun. Like you're so precious. And I'm like,
Starting point is 01:01:41 this is my favorite age you've ever been. And I feel like I said that last year and the year before. And so it's like, maybe just every maybe just, maybe, maybe having kids is just really fun because you love them a lot, no matter what age they are. But maybe it's just like extremely like hard to describe fulfilling aspect of your life that you've never quite felt unconditional love like this before. Yeah. Maybe it's like that. Maybe like you, if you work really hard at something and then like it pays off, it like
Starting point is 01:02:04 feels really good. And like, there's, yeah, there's some kind of at something and then like it pays off, it like feels really good. And like there's, yeah, there's some kind of just different, something different about it than anything else I've ever done. Something about like, it's kind of crazy to get born. I mean, it's truly like a miracle. Like they should call it like the miracle of life because it really is miraculous. Yeah, you're right, dude. And I, I'm not even a father.
Starting point is 01:02:20 Let's make those into t-shirts. Miracle of life. Miracle of life shirts. Yeah. And I'm in line to see Jake. Two in life shirts. Yeah. And I'm in line to see Jake two in one shirt. Hey, it was easier just to figure a lot of you guys buying this one.
Starting point is 01:02:30 I go by the other one. So kind of like those, like classic, like the DVDs that came in two packs. Yeah. Like sometimes, sometimes it was like home alone, one home alone too.
Starting point is 01:02:39 Other times it was like, you know, I don't know. Groundhog day. And what about Bob? Something like that. What about Bob? That was a good show or good movie. Anyway. Uh, you know, I don't know, Groundhog Day and What About Bob? Something like that. What about Bob? That was a good show or good movie.
Starting point is 01:02:48 Anyway, but yeah, just just fun stuff with family going on in my life. And just I don't know how he's how he's hilarious, man. She's just so funny. She's really she has never seen the movie, but she has Home Alone one and two on in the books. And she thinks that even like the books of them, like they're like they like made them into kids books kind of. And she thinks it's like the funniest thing i'm in the mood to watch them home alone how do you just wait to watch the movie dang that's awesome
Starting point is 01:03:13 but she can't watch it yet they say hopefully hattie will follow the same um kind of path that i went when it came to um outgoingness and yeah performing so it was like zero through five pretty into it like would go up in front of people and play a harmonica for strangers oh really dance for them i didn't care okay then very shy except for one second great talent show for the magic jake or jake the great jake the great yes what a name thank you yeah and then uh you end up performing for people as a career yeah that's the path it'd be pretty fun if she was a performer i think she's got it she like she has always said like this is what i'm what i want to be when i grew up she was always like i want to be a woodworker a teacher a mother and a veterinarian i think is what she said right now really just today she said
Starting point is 01:04:01 i want to be a superstar i was like what have i done like four songs at a church that just flipped her personality upside down yeah she did we three kings and merry christmas we three kings though it kind of pops off dude it was a good version too it was like it was like kind of like a pentatonic style like we three king't you know that that didn't sound anything like it no no no no that was good that was good anyway uh i did make a list real quick um and maybe you can help me i'm gonna do this next episode never okay give us something to do it's i'll give you a preview so you can kind of be thinking about it it's overrated underrated it's going to be a segment and it's going to be that's what gary v does i was instagram no i've never watched gary v so i
Starting point is 01:04:44 don't know that okay everyone's like they stole that from gary v yeah well what does he what does he do exactly i think people give him like current topics they'll say like you know bitcoin underrated overrated okay and he'll just like talk about why okay that's exactly what i was gonna do yeah okay from now from okay then i'm just gonna already decide this is overrated this is underrated and then we'll talk about it or we just play how you're gonna play it we just slightly switch up the words on top rated underneath rated that way no no copyright it's not the same it's different game on top rated underneath rated all right we'll save it for next week though okay cool but yeah yeah we're gonna record again in like three days because it dawned on me thanks to brad i don't know if i would have processed this thank goodness you
Starting point is 01:05:23 have good friends in your life who know what a calendar looks like and brad was like which i'm not a calendar guy either normally that's my thing yeah but brad made me realize that i'm about to be gone for 20 days straight and this was not on my mind this was not like hey how are we gonna record ghost runners or how should i move out of my house soon yeah i was like i was like oh so you need to like move out soon like i was like oh my gosh're like, I can't think about that right now. I was like, Oh my gosh, I have to move out in the next like two. Okay. I'll figure it out. Yeah. I said it was like 60 degrees today. And I said no to golf. If that tells you how much I have going on right now. First time I ever said no to golf, especially when it's six degrees in December, like take
Starting point is 01:05:59 advantage. And Isaac had already booked it. Like we had a tee time and I had to say no. Wow. But I was very productive growing up and getting soft, man. I'm growing up. I'm getting soft. Yeah. I almost thought about saying no preemptively. My dad and I are going to the KU Missouri basketball game on Saturday, which is like a huge deal. They don't play each other anymore. They're huge rivals.
Starting point is 01:06:15 I almost was about to text him today and say, Dad, I don't think I should go to this. Yeah. But I'm not going to be that responsible. Good. It's like, come on. It's like four hours. Like I could stay up later. So anyway. So yeah, yeah you're gonna be gone for a long we're gonna record yeah i'm gone for 20 days straight so right now we're gonna record the next episode here in a couple
Starting point is 01:06:33 days and then uh i think we're gonna we did it last year people liked it we're gonna do an audio only version of the best of 2021 on the ghost runners so we're gonna let our patrons kind of help us come up with like their favorite segments their favorite bits and we'll have justin throw all that together thank you justin and then i think it should be enough and then by the time i'll be back on january 1st yeah go google and then bow and hattie are also going to do a just a bonus episode by themselves yes that's right yeah bow will dance hattie will sing gosh i would love that uh real quick i want to talk specifics about each show just a little things that made each Bobo will dance. Hattie will sing. Gosh, I would love that. Real quick, I want to talk specifics about each show.
Starting point is 01:07:08 Just a little things that made each show different. Please. Made a joke in Seattle about them not running the football at the one yard line. It's like maybe there's not that many football fans in the audience. Well, there are. They remember it. They remember it well. So that was really fun.
Starting point is 01:07:19 Did they like it? They cheered slash booed very loud. But Trey then later made a Supersonics joke. And they actually took more fits took more fits to that so i was like okay i'm not the worst sports guy then oh really yeah because he's from oklahoma so we made some joke about like i sold a thunder from you or you know whatever um let's see yeah it's crazy that they went from seattle to oklahoma city yeah that is crazy and it wasn't like the typical way where it's like they didn't have any fans no one was going to the games like the people love them it was like some shady like ownership stuff like the oklahoma city like owners kind of did some shady stuff oh really so i think there's like legitimate bad blood like they do not like oklahoma city thunder um portland which
Starting point is 01:07:59 i think some of this is going to get posted on my instagram i need to figure it out i haven't really posted like a kind of a stand-up clip since the tour started but i was filming it and several like fun, like crowd work things happened. So I got to figure out what I want to post, but Portland just so easy. There's so many stereotypes in Portland. It was just so fun. It's so easy to just like make fun of them to their face. It was awesome. Yeah. Can you tell, like, I'm sure you can, but like, uh, I guess you kind of go regionally right now for your show. So maybe it's not as obvious. Like you're not going from, yeah, Montgomery, Alabama to Portland, Oregon, night after night. But like, can you tell like certain jokes hit better here?
Starting point is 01:08:32 Certain jokes hit better there. Lucas and I talk about it all the time. Really? It's sometimes it makes sense. It's other times like, wow, like Lucas has like a Catholic joke. OK. And it did really well in like Indianapolis or something. It's like not the place I would have thought.
Starting point is 01:08:43 Oh, but Notre Dame. Oh. Bingo. That's like not the place I would have thought. Oh, but Notre Dame? Oh. Bingo. That's a pretty big deal. I actually don't know if it was Minneapolis, but it was something like that. Oh, it was in Indianapolis. No, I did say that. And I don't know if that was the exact city.
Starting point is 01:08:56 It was somewhere in that realm. Like, you know, you would have thought it would have landed bigger when we were up in wherever. Sure, sure, sure, sure. Anyway, so yeah, there's a difference. I have an Old Testament joke. You can tell how churchy the audience is when I say that right kind of fun right um yeah portland jokes are great there's a voice memo coming later it's gonna bring us back to the portland show
Starting point is 01:09:12 uh sacramento i talked about jason williams on stage because i didn't have any sacramento jokes there was like no stereotypes of sacramento i was talking to friends i was googling online i couldn't find that poor sacramento that's like their that's their stereotype is that no one knows not going on yeah yeah Two hours for Tahoe, one hour from the Bay area, one hour from the, you know, the Redwood forest.
Starting point is 01:09:27 They're not, they're not on the coast, right? No. Yeah. They're just kind of, we had Jason Williams 12 years ago. So that was fun.
Starting point is 01:09:33 Did people like it? Yeah, they did a little bit. Yeah. I didn't like have a ton of jokes necessarily. I was just like, this is all I know about Sacramento. I was in second grade.
Starting point is 01:09:41 I want to be number 55. And they're like, you know, you're not playing linebacker, right? Yeah. I like Jason Williams. Yeah. It wouldn't even fit on my jersey so small that's awesome um let's see in riverside we met a couple who met on myspace and have been married uh 10 years which is at first like really cool but then it's like wait you met on myspace in 2011
Starting point is 01:10:00 no one was on myspace at 2011 the two people left on myspace that's the only yeah of course you found each other what that was fun wait wait okay 2011 met in myspace 2011 yeah 2011 they're like keep saying it i'm just trying to think of like instagram was popping in 2011 twitter was popping i i don't think we had instagram yet pop in pop off pop in really i didn't get instagram in 2013 no i had it on my first iphone i ever got which was 2011 i don't know what it was but still it's a maybe i'm wrong a little bit on that but it was my sister yeah facebook was king twitter was right there three full years at least after people had ditched myspace yeah snapchat was kind of a thing back then probably do you think that was like my junior
Starting point is 01:10:48 year i don't think not yet either way i think we made the point that's a that's crazy that's crazy though yeah that's crazy that's crazy and another really fun part of that night was i'd asked uh you know the guy in the front row how long you and her been married and you know every now and the guys will struggle and it's kind of funny like this poor guy doesn't know and i was like he's struggling he's struggling and he's like i got it i was like okay he says he got it how long he goes a year and a half i was like you struggled on i was like this is not good sir you're this is not gonna be good for you it's like it was it was truly a year and a half ago yeah like you got married in the heart of covet and you can't remember when it was remember how no one was at your wedding that's one of those
Starting point is 01:11:23 things were like like i think some people just struggle to like be so accurate. Like he probably wanted to be like, like he was at 14 months, 15 months. 16, 17. It's 18 months, year and a half. Like that's how Catherine will be like, you know, like how old is Beau?
Starting point is 01:11:37 She'll be like, oh, let's see. He is 67 weeks and 14 days. And I was like, that's 69 weeks. But whereas I'm just like he's like one and a half like yeah you know whatever that's what people are wanting to know yeah no one truly like if you say 57 weeks or 54 weeks no one oh a year yeah yeah and i was giving a hard time i was like you've been married young enough you could still treat it as if it's a newborn baby you could say 18 months like you're you can still you're in the month category you're in the month
Starting point is 01:12:02 category and you still don't even know this is is awful. That was just kind of funny. And then Denver, I wrote down in my notes, one of my best sets ever. I think it's up there with Reading. So Reading, I felt like it was a really good one. Yeah. It was really fun. But the bummer to continue the currently training in the venues, not being great. Denver wouldn't let me film.
Starting point is 01:12:19 And I was like, it was like 4 p.m. This is kind of funny, too. If you imagine me, I got a microphone, a camera and a tripod. My hands are full. I'm like barely struggling to walk to the sound booth. And this woman stops me. She is kind of funny, too. If you imagine me, I got a microphone, a camera and a tripod. My hands are full. I'm like barely struggling to walk to the sound booth. And this woman stops me like, hey, can help you once again. Hey, I'm actually one of the performers tonight. And I was going to set up my camera in the back just to have.
Starting point is 01:12:35 And she's like, oh, I can't let you do that. Well, you set up you set it up in the backstage, you said, right? No, it's like just anywhere. Like one night it was like up in the projector room one night it's like near the sound guy just wherever it's available okay and she's like can't do that that is against the rules and i was like oh uh even if i don't like post it anywhere like this is just for like archival just like just for me to have yeah and she wouldn't let me film so we kind of went back and forth couldn't do it and then of course i have just like all this
Starting point is 01:13:03 amazing stuff happening it would have been it's the best like clip for instagram would have been so fun to have i kind of spoiled it for you i was telling you yesterday but talked guy in the front row his name is mark oh yeah talk to you next time i was like what's your name is john i was like this is on we got the gospel characters right here i was like i got a feeling we got a luke in the house and then there's this guy who stands up i mean four seats over from he goes i'm luke and it was so fun uh that made it really fun i looked up to the sky and i was like thank you and um we had a photographer that night he got i won't show up on the camera but i'll show you brad like he got the exact moment of this all happening like i know this is when it happened which is kind of fun like this is for you to see it's like that's my face when it was like you're luke and then more smiling at him and then there's me like looking up
Starting point is 01:13:49 good photographer i know he like nailed all like major moments of the show wow so that was really fun and uh just like john or whoever i talked to i asked him what he did for living he was a principal architect so i was laying on the jokes i kept acting like i didn't know what he did for a living i don't know what that is well yeah i didn't know really either some sort of architect but i kept i so i kept treating it like he worked in the school system that's what i was like principal yeah yeah so it's like hey well that sounds decent i mean you're in the front row but you'll work your way up to superintendent you'll get there superintendent architect and as i was going through my set there were probably three or four times i called back to like different school
Starting point is 01:14:21 systems or whatever you know looking out for those janitor architects you know john you get it you know whatever so it was just really, really fun. Somebody gave me puppy chow afterwards. Oh, hit the spot. Chonkies. Chonks. Yeah. Yeah. Mama made a chunky. Dude, I want to go back to, I can't really get over the fact that you weren't allowed to film yourself. Yeah. It was going to cost like thousands of dollars. They said that? Yeah. Like they were, they were like, you can do it if you give us money. Yeah. You just going to cost like thousands of dollars. They said that? Yeah. Like they were, they were like, you can do it if you give us money. Yeah. You just have to pay for it. I was like, just for like my own, like, that's one of those things that I, I, I want to fight for you. I wouldn't fight for myself in that. Like, I don't, I don't, I'm sure you didn't
Starting point is 01:14:57 really care that. I mean, you, you care a little bit, but it's like, I put up a little fight, but I was like, it seems like there's nothing i can do it just frustrates me on your behalf because it's like you're the one saying the words it's not like you're like it'd be like if you made a movie and then like you filmed the movie and they're like hey you can't you can't be filming because then they're you're gonna know what the movie's about and you're gonna be able to watch the movie back it's like yeah i could watch the movie back anytime i want like yeah i could i could do this comedy set back anytime I want. It's in my head. Like, I don't know. It just it just bothers me.
Starting point is 01:15:27 It's like you're literally the one entertaining everybody. You're the one bringing the material. Yeah. And yeah, whatever. And I brought the camera. It's not even like I'm asking him to do anything like I will do it all. I don't need a camera. I don't need audio.
Starting point is 01:15:38 You know, it would have been so good to have that clip, but it's OK. Huh? Still the memories. It's a podcast story. That's right. Luke, Mark and John. Just missing Matthew, which I brought that back in the duet. Did you meet? Oh, gosh. clip but it's okay huh still the memories and it's a podcast story that's right luke mark and john just missing matthew which i brought that back in the duet did you meet um oh gosh she's one she's a ghosty in denver and she was talking trash about uh denver the broncos playing the chiefs oh yes i
Starting point is 01:15:57 did meet her she talked about it she was like brad's prediction was a little off but you guys did win we whooped up whooped them. Whooped them. They scored one touchdown. It was in garbage time. It was garbage. Garbage time. The Chiefs dominated. Yeah. Defensively looking good.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Super Bowl. We'll see you there. Yeah. We knew it. We knew it. We knew it. You guys were in doubt that a podcast was going to like, we're going to have to shut it down.
Starting point is 01:16:17 Here's a plan. F12. Let's talk F12. Well, let's talk F12. F12. We perform. Night of our life. Amazing night. Yes. Puppy chat afterwards. Wake up let's talk F12. F12. We, we perform night of our life. Amazing night.
Starting point is 01:16:25 Yes. Puppy child afterwards. Wake up 635 the next morning. A.M. Go to MCI. Fly to Los Angeles. Go to the Super Bowl. And just say, see you.
Starting point is 01:16:36 See you, ghosties. Yeah. And like actually go to it. 100%. Like pay tickets to be at the Super Bowl. Yeah. Pay thousands of dollars to go to the Super Bowl. Maybe.
Starting point is 01:16:44 Maybe. I mean, we've done crazier things. Maybe. I don't know if we have. You've done crazier things. I don't know. I've never spent money like that. Let's spend money.
Starting point is 01:16:53 That would be cool. Money's fun. No, I'm just kidding. Yeah. F12. What are you going to talk about? Just, oh, this is what I want to say. I think three nights in a row, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento,
Starting point is 01:17:03 ghosties told me they'd already booked their flights. Let's go. So it's definitely happened. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And like, yeah, I've, I've also, uh, it has been a somewhat of a trend of people like a little bit leery of like, is this really happening?
Starting point is 01:17:14 Are we like, are we sure? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:17 Exactly. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:20 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:21 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:22 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:22 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:22 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:23 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 01:17:24 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. is. Yes, it is. Yeah. Has that really translated into the jokes at all? No, but I think it's funny, Brad. And that's all that matters. I think it's funny on our jean shorts. Derek really likes it. So he keeps putting them in there. Uh, yeah, I just like, I'll, I'll be like, yes, yes I do. Yes it is. You know, or I think it was, it started out the pickleball video. Yeah, that was out. That was out. Yes it was. Yes it was. And now I just do it in a lot of videos, but, um, there is another thing people have asked about, like, where was. Yes, it was. And now I just do it in a lot of videos, but, um, there is another thing people have asked about, like, where should, like, is there a hotel you would recommend? I was like, it kind of lodge is pretty nice. Yeah. I'd say second floor. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:54 Make sure Ramesh is working. Um, no, but I, but I was like, I was like, maybe, I don't know. I know that like for the, uh, Hy-Vee, whatever you want to call it, the basketball game. Um, there were like a few people that like booked airbnbs together and stuff so i don't know how we coordinate like how do we there's any kind of i think i think reddit should be the place where people go if they want to have discussions and community you know talking whatever stuff the problem is there's so many options like there's a discord there's a reddit a facebook group would probably be convenient but not everyone has all these things so it's like but reddit is so easy to like well yeah you're right they have to get an account
Starting point is 01:18:27 but like at least you can go on reddit even if you don't have an account and just look at something it's pretty easy you're right reddit is easy so i think just look up ghost runners or ghost runners podcast or whatever it's called on reddit um that that's my that's my main thought is like if we're gonna if you want to try to figure out logistically how to stay in a certain place where's everyone gonna be staying? Start posting in YouTube comments, Instagram comments, some of the Reddit, like get it out there. Yeah. Start making plans.
Starting point is 01:18:51 So, um, beyond that, I don't have, I haven't thought about that much, to be honest. I haven't thought about too much either. Other than just like, I think I just want to treat it as if we were going on tour, but everyone came to us. Yeah. Like what would a ghost on our show look like? Yeah. I think we, we, we my my thought as we
Starting point is 01:19:05 brainstorm live on a podcast is we each do a set uh individually i think we should yeah and then we each do some sort of yeah like thing together maybe not like like a podcast it's just like maybe not like a podcast-esque thing like maybe like do like a like a rehearsed thing rather than like a off-the off the cuff kind of thing does that make sense yeah it does but I don't know what that looks like or that would be maybe just a choreographed dance could be Hattie could teach us or Bo
Starting point is 01:19:33 yeah yeah yeah but yeah it's gonna be dope F12 F12 make sure you're there yeah yeah I got I still haven't like figured out much for my comedy thing, which is coming up less than a week away now. Oh man. I can't wait to hear the stories afterwards. I can't wait. I keep telling, like, I keep making excuses. Maybe tell me if this is your
Starting point is 01:19:58 personality or not, but like, I'll be like, Oh, I need to think about that. And I'm like, well, but I have so much stuff with Jean. Like we had a big Jean shorts week. So I need to think about Jean shorts. And then like, well, but I have so much stuff with Gene. Like we had a big Gene Shorts week. So I need to think about Gene Shorts. And then like, oh, but I need to think about those word working things. So like once Gene Shorts stuff is done, then I'll do it. And then it's like, oh, now Jake told me that we have to record two podcasts this week. Like, okay, so once we record both podcasts and I stop thinking about that, then I'll think about this.
Starting point is 01:20:20 And I just know that's me procrastinating and being like, oh, it's like, like it's going to happen. It's going to come on wednesday no matter what yeah so if i wait until sunday night after we record the second podcast that's too late yeah so i don't know good luck thanks man how do you i i do have a question about like you're talking about crowd work and i can tell that's like your maybe not your barometer but like that's your favorite thing that's like your, maybe not your barometer, but like, that's your favorite thing. I love it. That's your most memorable thing.
Starting point is 01:20:46 Yeah. It's so fun. So are you going to try to like potentially take out more stage jokes and put in more crowd work? I would love to. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:53 As I get better. Have you thought about that of like, how do I, yeah. How do I implement more of that or anything? Absolutely. I haven't started like acting on it, but it's definitely been a thought of like, this is what I love the most when it works well. This is definitely what the crowd loves the most. Like, why don't I just do this more?
Starting point is 01:21:06 So yeah, I just need to figure out like the right ways to do it. Because even if like, even if you quote unquote fail at crowd work, it's still somewhat of an entertaining thing because you're interacting with the audience. We still got answers of this guy that we didn't know before. Oh, okay. This guy has an interesting job. Exactly. Like, I don't think that you can really go that wrong. And it keeps people engaged because it's like, Whoa, he might call me next yeah he might say something that i want to respond to i don't know so i just feel like that that i was thinking that because for this this comedy thing i have it's just like okay how much do i do of crowd work versus i do a lot that's what i want to do make it casual but obviously you can't like lean back on that and just be like oh i'm just
Starting point is 01:21:44 gonna talk to people the whole time. About 12 minutes of crowd work and then I'll start getting into my set. Yeah. I watched some comedian one time that literally he just did crowd work the entire time. I saw it on a cruise one time. It was incredible. Really? It was so good.
Starting point is 01:21:56 It was like, like this guy was pretty vulgar when he did it, which most people are that are comedians. But yeah, he just nailed it like the whole time. And I was like, wow, wow. He kind of made fun of people the whole time. Yeah. So I, wow, wow. He kind of made fun of people the whole time. Yeah. So I don't know how to do it without making fun of people. I know.
Starting point is 01:22:10 I like I said my first like kind of rude thing on stage this week. And even as I'm saying it, I was like, oh, and of course, like everyone afterwards is like, that wasn't rude. You're fine. But what do you say? I just remember talking to someone. I was like, what's your wife's name? He said, Kyle.
Starting point is 01:22:22 So I didn't say anything in the moment. OK, I didn't say anything. But then, like, as I continue to talk to to him like a few questions later i asked i was like so you know aside from having to get over from the fact that your wife has a boy name what did you know and then just like let people laugh during that so it's like a preview to a question but it just felt wrong i was like oh it's not nice i shouldn't be saying this it's like and i bet that k Kyle's heard that about a million times. She came up to me after the show. She's like, I've been getting it since I was 10 years old.
Starting point is 01:22:48 And I was like, I'm so sorry. She's like, you don't need to apologize. I was like, normally I'm not like that. I don't know what got into me tonight. It's like, I hear that every day. Where was this? I don't remember. That sounds like a very like Pacific Northwest name for a woman.
Starting point is 01:22:59 Speaking of that, Sacramento, kind of cool. I don't know why that made me think of it. We golfed at Sacramento. It was beautiful. It was like foggy and like Pacific Northwest team, but the occasional palm tree. It was sweet. Interesting. It was just like, yeah, really like cool, like green tones, foggy, fun, warm.
Starting point is 01:23:18 Palm tree. So maybe Sacramento is California's palm tree. Palm tree. Sacramento or is it's California's best kept secret. Is that what you're trying to say? BKS. Yeah. I met some people in Hawaii that were from Sacramento and they sounded like
Starting point is 01:23:31 they liked it a lot. Really? Jason Williams was there. You guys remember him? Yep. What'd you think of the, the, um,
Starting point is 01:23:41 the golf competition? Did you watch that story? The end of the golf? I missed the four foot. I did. I thought for sure you were going to win because he posted it. Yeah. I was like, yeah. the golf competition. Did you watch that story? The end of the golf? I missed the forefoot putt. I did. I thought for sure you were going to win because you posted it.
Starting point is 01:23:48 Yeah. I was like, oh, he's going to win. The irony, it's not irony. The funny part about it all is that I miscalculated the score. So we ended up tying after all. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:23:57 Yeah. So that putt that I thought was to tie was actually to win instead of losing, we tied. So I was like, oh, that's kind of a fine way to end it. But you guys were betting on something the whole, like, so you're going to do a tiebreaker? We just carried over it. Yeah. No, I don't think it's like, oh, that's kind of a fine way to end it. But you guys were betting on something the whole like we just carry over.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Yeah. No, I don't think so. Wait, why did it end? Oh, because I guess the season's over. It was just like that was the 2021 competition. And like we're kind of out of warmth for a while. Dude, what if it is? OK, yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:17 Because I was going to say it's unseasonably warm, but that's 2022. Next time you're so you're gone or you're done for touring until january no no no you're yeah you got another week sorry this week that this is coming out we have shows all this oh that's right monday through friday michigan and yeah minneapolis grand rapids royal oak dude i'm so yeah no you're good we got so much going on dude it was funny when you you came down here and you you're like oh or, I asked you to bring a drill over. Thank you. But you texted me.
Starting point is 01:24:47 100% for that. And you're like, I got to turn around. And then when you get here, you're like, I brought the wrong charger. That has been me so much this week. And I'm never that way. And it's stolen me off so much. It kills you, doesn't it? Like two mornings ago, I was at the old house in Olathe.
Starting point is 01:25:02 But my computer hasn't been working. So I was like, i have to edit this video before i go to trace house and i need to do it on my main computer still at the old house i'm gonna drive all the way there drive there forget my backpack at the old place 25 minutes turn it back around 25 minutes back up the street but still not too bad hey it's all right i still have time so i have a little bit of time to edit it yeah get home and the heat has shut off not because of anyone did it but it's's something that's broken with our heat. Honestly,
Starting point is 01:25:26 the thermostat, the thermostat broke actually. That'll do it. So the fact that we're in here right now, this is the first time all week that it's been working. It just magically started working. I didn't even warn you. I was like,
Starting point is 01:25:35 it's a 60 degree day. So we'll record on that day. So it'll be warmer, but the heat's working now anyway. So not only is like, oh, time has been wasted, get in.
Starting point is 01:25:42 And my, my fingers are falling off. I'm trying to edit and it's not working. It's so cold that my, which I don't know if this is completely related, but my keyboard and trackpad couldn't connect to my Mac. The Mac mini, like Bluetooth wise. Surely those aren't related. I don't know if it's related, but it's just like in the midst of everything else.
Starting point is 01:26:01 You've always worked. The sky is falling. You've never not worked, dude. You know who you are. We've always worked the sky is falling you've never not worked dude you know who you are we've always worked together these are my thumbs that's one of those things where it's like when you're having a hard day like everything seems a little bit worse it's like and the keyboard's not connecting oh of course it's not oh yeah so i just keep forgetting things i forgot what else happened that day but uh oh eventually my laptop just shut off had to take it to the Apple store.
Starting point is 01:26:25 That's this whole thing that's going to get fixed, whatever. So I'm using Brad's right now. Um, then later that night. So I'm like, all right, forget the cold house. I'm bringing the entire, um, computer back home with me, but I couldn't get the desk undone because I don't have a Phillips screwdriver. So like, that's fine. I'll set it on. Hey, I got new granite countertops in the house. I'll edit on those. So I've been editing at the kitchen, but Oh oh my gosh i forgot the unconnected keyboard and
Starting point is 01:26:48 trackpad so i gotta go back i come back to the new house i forgot the power cord i have driven so much this week i can't remember a single thing wait wait did our pets heads are falling off did you bring the uh computer back up here when you forgot that like you were bringing the whole thing up or were you coming up here to grab the wireless mouse and keyboard and come back down? Yeah. And then forgot the cord. It sucks. Everything sucks.
Starting point is 01:27:13 It's all a big logic puzzle. And I got to move in the next two days. I'm fine. I'm fine, guys. I'm just kind of trying to make this entertaining story. Let's switch cars for the day. Two, three, four. I don't care how many days.
Starting point is 01:27:24 And you can just take my truck and probably get it all in one fell swoop i will say moving by yourself in a sedan not the easiest thing doesn't go that quick uh so no but i think i'm getting some help tonight and i think i'm gonna try to fully move out and i think i will be back in kansas like a half day so that'd be nice whatever we don't need to talk about this anymore i'm fine no i'm interested how many like a half day like a full half no half of half half of a half i would say like a couple hours sloppy thirds like i think i'll come back to kansas city do a load of laundry okay and be efficient within that two-hour time frame of like throwing stuff away or cleaning up the old house i got an email and they were like hey if you want your uh deposit back your security deposit back which here are the things yeah if you're one of those people
Starting point is 01:28:09 who want your deposit back those weirdos here's what i would do and it was this list of things that was like clean it well obviously you should probably clean a little bit but it was like make sure the carpets get cleaned do a deep clean of the entire house do this and i'm starting to think like how much is my security deposit how much is it going to cost to get the carpets cleaned yeah it's just going to be like a wash like i'm just not worried about it i i probably would take my my chances i'll your house is pretty dirty what if i do all that and then i still don't get the security exactly exactly so it's it's kind of like like i would probably examine how dirty are these carpets how much is a cc i don't know we had one
Starting point is 01:28:44 when we first moved in because there was a cat that lived in our house before us oh well-behaved cat i assume that's why you got the carpet yeah well-behaved like just urinated everywhere i told people or the people told you um but i i don't know i i don't remember i don't think it was like astronomical but it was the same thing of you though like when we first moved into our house i was like i don't care just we pay them let's pay the money to do it right you know so i just feel like i just shelled out money and it was just desensitized to it so um hey good news tomorrow's gonna be a good jean schwartz day let's go i'm excited it's a good day to have a good day good day every day is a good day yeah even in the bad days it was like this is still i'm still having so much fun yeah it'll be
Starting point is 01:29:22 good um we're recording a little bit of an involved one. We're getting the ladies involved. Yeah. Katie and two other girls. Yep. Should be fun. We're all married for tomorrow. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:35 Trey's really excited about it, which is always exciting to me because he obviously knows. He knows what he's doing. Yeah. He knows what's going to do well, I think. Yeah. I feel like usually when he's excited about him, they do well. He's very excited. We shot a couple videos with Dude Dad, and he's really excited about one of them.
Starting point is 01:29:49 Yeah. And I sent it over this morning, and he was like, this is going to be sweet. It's like, sweet. Can't wait to post it. Was that the one that I had the same idea? Yes. I know. That one bums me out.
Starting point is 01:29:57 I was like, dang it. Yeah. But it's okay. Lots of ideas. It's okay. It's okay. We'll get there. It's okay.
Starting point is 01:30:03 Catherine loved the vase throw in the last in the last video like she watched it probably five times in a row it was it was up there for me like whenever she watched that video of you and the exploding campfire yeah yeah it was similar like she was she was in the similar mood of like i gotta go back and watch that again i gotta go back i love when katherine gets laughing yeah that's so fun i don't know exactly what she thought was so fun i think she really liked when trey goes she'll never know like she really thought that was funny but um now now i'm gonna go back and watch it that's so great it was pretty good but that gets me excited dude chief's game at your house sunday let's go i'm excited let's go i was like telling eyes like oh it could
Starting point is 01:30:38 be fun because we got the new tv set up frame tv looks good oh yeah i didn't even know that a i didn't know that you were getting one of those. B, I didn't know those existed. Really? Yeah. But they were talking about, because Catherine in Austin this weekend, like with my sister-in-law, Jackie, they like schemed all these different things for your house and stuff. And they were like talking about like, oh, yeah, and he got the frame TV. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:57 And she's like, oh, I've always wanted to get one of those. And I'm like, I didn't even know those existed. They exist. So. And they look too bad. When they're turned off, are they still on? They just have a a picture in them i don't know how on they are okay you know it's like you're when your cell phone is black it's like it's i guess it's still on but it's not doing anything but but can you see it like can you see something on the screen yeah yeah it like it's
Starting point is 01:31:17 supposed to look like art when it's so it's like you're watching something you're watching something you're why you're having a good time. You're watching something. What is that? I don't know. Once I started, I was like, it'll be funny if I just keep going. You're just having a good time. Flipping the room channels. And then you turn it off.
Starting point is 01:31:35 Boom. Artwork. Valley of the Yosemite. That's my current background. Oh. It's nice. Okay. Anyway, I was telling Isaac, dude, we got the TV up.
Starting point is 01:31:44 We shut people over the Chiefs game. Yeah. And I was like, wait, I've been sitting in a lawn chair when i'm home i mean i don't have furniture when is it coming in soon i keep for you to order it i had a few things yeah you have some stuff going on yeah i know it's it's tough to know like what is a priority and now that i'm gonna be gone for like three weeks it's like i guess yeah i didn't need to buy furniture yet i'm not sitting in it isaac doesn't need it. No, Isaac's fine. He's got a good back so we can just lie on the floor. He'll be fine.
Starting point is 01:32:09 But Catherine and I decided on some stuff. Good. I actually picked it out and she approved. How's she been to work with? Has she been easy going? I'm probably worse to work with than she is. Really? I just, yeah, just like I could be more communicative.
Starting point is 01:32:19 Oh, dude. That was another thing at the airport. Right when we got there, she tried to record a voice memo to send you like four times yeah she she's like it keeps going dark on me and i was like just turn it off low power mode for a second or you know whatever she was and did you teach her to slide the thumb over i taught her to slide she mentioned that yeah oh my gosh so funny sweet old lady i know sweet girl she's yeah she like doesn't watch our youtube videos until i show them to her. She's like, well, I don't have YouTube installed on my phone. I'm like, oh, heaven forbid. Oh, I don't think there's anything else I want to say.
Starting point is 01:32:52 Two notes, two around the horn notes. One, I've been meaning to say this for like four weeks now. October was our biggest month ever on Ghostrunners. Yes, yes, yes. Honestly, November might have been our biggest month too but when i wrote that down it was still november so i haven't looked um i i'm gonna interrupt you yeah uh spotify wrapped i kind of so i was i was without my phone katie bennett 33 000 minutes 33 000 yeah did you post all this on our instagram i posted some of like our rap like from our point of view
Starting point is 01:33:24 i missed that. Like I saw a few people like respond to it in our stories. But since I didn't have my phone for like three days or whatever that was. Yeah, I missed all the Instagram stories.
Starting point is 01:33:33 So, yeah, I want to know. Do you remember any of the stats like there weren't because I was very interested like how many countries have listened to this or. Let me try to find it. I saw the one that was like
Starting point is 01:33:44 thirteen hundred people listen to your podcast more than any to find it i saw the one that was like 1300 people listen to your podcast more than any other podcast or something like that so the thing it told me about country instead of saying total countries it just told me we got our first streams and these two new countries oh vietnam and something and honduras so like all right which that was our aim like we said if we ever mission accomplished yeah we want to get going to get known in Vietnam and Honduras. So this is Spotify only, which I think two thirds of our listeners listen on Apple, but still it says 1500 fans listening more than any other podcast.
Starting point is 01:34:12 Wow. Which is pretty cool. That's cool. And then the only other thing that was noteworthy was says you had some impressive growth this year. Ours was up 150%. Followers was up 109%. And then listeners was up 52 percent
Starting point is 01:34:26 so that's crazy if we can do that year over year we are going to go to the moon because that's like double john roland camp everyone's not gonna be a very rich man um that's crazy though like 150 percent that's a lot yeah no it is it's great and i feel like because especially because last year i feel like we were doing well. It's not like we were like just starting out last, right. You know, like,
Starting point is 01:34:48 yeah, that's true. It was already established at that point. So that reminds me to Spotify wrapped. I saw that the most streamed artist of 2021 on Spotify, bad bunny. This is the guy we talked about. It was like,
Starting point is 01:34:59 who is this guy? There's some, there's, how is that possible that I still know who this guy or girl or rabbit is. And they're the most streamed person in 2021. Out of, in the world. I think so.
Starting point is 01:35:11 Maybe it's a country either way. Number numero uno. It's just crazy. Like, I think that a lot, like, like who are these people? Who are these people watching?
Starting point is 01:35:18 Who, who do we got here? Like, like, like, like Jake will like you guys, you and Trey will talk about, you know,
Starting point is 01:35:24 whatever, Charlie D'Amelio or whatever the girl's name is. Our name. Yeah. Like, and I'm like, I don't know who that is. like like jake will like you guys will you and trey will talk about you know whatever charlie d'amelio or whatever the girl's name is our name yeah like and i'm like i don't know who that is they're like you don't know who that is and i look and she's got like like a billion views and i'm like who's watching this stuff like who's like who is it out there at least on tiktok i can like see it you know like oh okay there's so many people on it so many kids but it's like a spotify yeah out of everyone uh yeah like and like and like there's nobody even like probably remotely close that's like a normal like classic rock white guy like it's not like john fogarty's like number 29
Starting point is 01:35:55 you know like he's not even on the list john fogarty now i'm not seeing now where's fogarty on the list jay fogarty yeah j folks. Is he exclusive to title or something? I can't imagine why he wouldn't be on the Spotify list. Like, yeah. John Fogarty. Yeah. Signed up with Jay Z for title. It's kind of their, their, their, their kind of one in the same.
Starting point is 01:36:17 You should hear their mashups. Um, no, I, yeah, that's, that's awesome. I, if you're a podcast listener on Apple podcast, is it really hard to like one week a year that Spotify rap comes out and you don't look like a true Ghostwriters fan? How does it feel? Because I'm genuinely like curious about that. Because I heard I'm a big Spotify listener myself. It's so much better.
Starting point is 01:36:38 If you have Spotify premium, it's better. Yeah, it would stink if you didn't. It would stink. It would it would really stink. A couple other little notes. I forgot how these at the top of my notes list is um i want to say a personal thank you to olivia guthrie you recognize that name of course big fan patron youtube commenter yeah wrote me something after a show i think it's one of the nicest pieces of encouragement i've ever
Starting point is 01:36:56 received in my life really it was just like very like it was just cool it was a unique type of encouragement it wasn't about giving me the funny stuff i've done it was more like the more serious stuff that we've rarely mentioned on the podcast yeah shout out olivia and one of the other reasons i want to say it publicly is because she doesn't have instagram i couldn't find her on instagram so oh she totally has instagram no even in her note she said i don't have instagram so this is why i'm writing this note how do i how do i know her name so well then i think patron and youtube comments really yeah wow that's saying something if i don't i love you instagram when i think you totally have instagram that's what i thought too i was like no i don't know her name she's gotta have instagram i i don't
Starting point is 01:37:28 even believe you right now olivia olivia why'd you lie in your letter if i'm not on instagram let us know i think she does who am i thinking of then anyway uh another note i met george ditto and didn't even realize it was him like the george ditto from our thing i met his entire family they're really great he was like so i thought it was pretty cool when you mentioned me on the podcast and i could have sworn like in recent memory we read a review of someone named george and so that's what i thought he was talking about and i was like oh yeah i bet that was fun you got to hear your name you know everything and then i go back and like i'm replying to a story on instagram i'm like hold on a second wait a second his last name was ditto i might have said some different things had i known that that was him bummer yeah did you regret it like like i mean we still had like a
Starting point is 01:38:08 really good chat he was like super friendly and we did get to talk a lot about the podcast about him and everything so it was like very pleasant very fun it wasn't like i blew him off for sure yeah of course but it was just like oh i that could have been more fun sorry george ditto i didn't know also you didn't tell me i had to find out because your sister's instagram was lucy ditto oh he didn't even know George Ditto himself. I don't think so. Well, I don't know. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:38:29 Well, good. Last thing for me. And then I'm seriously done. That's great. Yeah. The 20 percent's coming out. Just some of the 20 percent's coming out. I'm going to give them a public shout out.
Starting point is 01:38:42 Back when our basketball game was originally scheduled, three boys from Oregon drove down. By the time they were already halfway down, the game got canceled. They said we're coming anyway. They were amazing. We had them on the podcast. They started their own podcast. I'm getting to chat with them.
Starting point is 01:38:54 They came to both shows in Portland because they bought tickets separately. And they're like, I didn't even think about selling them on StubHub. We just thought we'd come to both. See if they're any different. Yeah. And they got some. It was funny because the crowd work I did that night first guy talked to him like what do you do for a living he said real estate same guy second show what do you do for
Starting point is 01:39:12 a living real estate so i do the same joke so like the one part that's supposed to be different was the same did you do the real estate joke yes i'm gonna put that's what i have on patreon right now because it got recorded because they would let me good and it got a big laugh i'm excited for the ghost hunters listeners to hear it people appreciated it that's awesome and it was my second try doing it i just done it an hour before that like they're gonna love this so anyway but we i think i named them the gas boys yeah they fully clung to it they have an instagram they have a podcast now called the gas boys i've chatted with them like how's the podcast going like i love the clips you know whatever i'm like you guys got merch yet and they said not for everybody oh baby so they went
Starting point is 01:39:44 out and made exclusive there's like they said they don't even have merch no like they don't even own it they just went and bought it for us i'm pretty sure dude these are sweet and we got shirts oh oh my goodness oh my goodness it's a very shiny finish that is awesome i love yeah because we call them the gas boys because yeah they don't pump their own gas in Oregon. Oh, that is so cool. And they used a lot of gas getting to Kansas City and back. So I knew you would like that.
Starting point is 01:40:12 I think they said they're going to come try to come to F-12. Yeah, they were like, we already booked our flights. Oh, really? I'm pretty sure they were the ones. I think Nikita was a lot of Portland people already booked our flights. Nikita told me she was coming. And then people in Seattle and people in Sacramento said that as well. So.
Starting point is 01:40:23 Galvin Yow's coming. Galvin Yow? Yeah. Cool. Galvin Yow. We got. All right. right i'm done i'll give you the other gifts afterwards that way people don't know if their gift made it or not but the gas boys made it gas boys i need to listen i need to catch up on your podcast i have listened to some of them um i mean they're pretty enjoyable to be around i imagine a podcast gotta be the same they're just dudes just just dudes just gassy dudes sweet man this is great all right all right um oh shoot i was gonna play that voice memo from portland as well we're gonna save a lot of our voice memos for when we have to record in three
Starting point is 01:40:53 days brad's got the hat on so i'm gonna play this out of my phone directly hey so this is hunter the la croix boy and i'm here interviewing with along with the gas boys this is jake triplet what do you have to say after your performance? Hey, Brad. I did really good tonight. I, um, oh, okay. Here's my, actually, okay. I just thought of something.
Starting point is 01:41:14 So let's say, Brad, you're in a position where you brought a woman on stage to sing to her. And she says that she is a labor and delivery nurse. Yeah. What would your punchline be? I'll tell you mine after you give your answer. Thank you. My time is... Anyone else?
Starting point is 01:41:31 Christian, you got anything? I don't. All right. That's it. That's why you should listen to Christian's podcast. Christian is just so like, yeah. He's very funny. Just so matter of fact about it.
Starting point is 01:41:44 Like he's like... I do not. Yeah, he's not trying. He's not trying too hard yeah he's very funny just so matter of fact about it like he's like I do not he's not trying he's not trying too hard he's really funny kind of when he came in impersonated Brad remember that and he's like he's yeah but he didn't he wasn't just like this crazy like I don't know he's just like yeah I'm Brad
Starting point is 01:41:56 I'm Brad you have anything to say Christian I don't and that's funny for some reason when it comes out of his mouth he's got the delivery that's the thing Chris if you have delivery doesn't matter what you say you can make it in Stan't and that's funny for some reason when it comes out of his mouth he's got the delivery that's the thing chris if you have delivery it doesn't matter what you say you can make it in stanbury someday that's right i think if you keep working here you can make it anywhere they say okay so yeah the scene is like hey what do you do for a living i'm a labor and delivery nurse you know you know i'm not as good as this as you obviously like okay so you the stick is
Starting point is 01:42:24 that you're flirty. Yeah. What would your rhyme be? Okay, first of all, what's her name? Do you remember? Or give me a name. Diana. Diana, Diana.
Starting point is 01:42:34 You do labor and delivery. Oh, gosh, I'm so bad. Delivery. Wait, you don't even have the rhyme yet? You don't have to start and know the rhyme yet. No, I got it. When I look at you, you make my legs so quivering. He's got to shake a little when you do it.
Starting point is 01:42:55 Good. Good. And then you go, do some more more dance more music for me Diana Diana you see lots of babies cause you're a labor
Starting point is 01:43:16 delivery nurse so maybe or no I don't know so then you wanna go out with me don't say yes or no not maybe nice oh yeah is that it that's what you said that's probably exactly exactly okay just remember the quivery one the quivery was fun it was good yeah i don't remember her name it was something just like um diana you said i just
Starting point is 01:43:45 made that up i know uh you've i think i like grabbed her hand i was like i want to be a thing i want us to be a thing i want us to be plural but your love's got me in pain i need an epidural that's good yeah lucas has been complimenting me lately on how uh my vocabulary while singing is getting higher and higher so now i just don't want to let him down. Like I used bravado one night, which he really liked. I used epidural. Trey used algorithm. He rhymed algorithm recently.
Starting point is 01:44:12 With what? I don't remember, but she was an engineer. So he had that. And anyway, it's just been fun because as we get better, it's like you just feel a little more brave. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Get a little quicker thinking of rhymes like three, four syllable rhymes. Yeah. How much time do you think realistically you have to make your first or your good rhyme
Starting point is 01:44:29 because because it's way too much time i think i've always said that the song is so slow i'm always ready to go and usually i'm like trade don't steal this oh don't take mine what do you have you has it ever happened uh actually kind of happened with the engineer thing i had an engineering joke teed up and then right beforehand he did like engineering algorithms was like this is gonna be kind of similar i'll try to change you know so it's fine and no one notices to lean back on like if you're like yeah yeah if i really need something i've got like a fallback but i try to not huh yeah that would but no i'm ready to like i'm ready to wrap i'm ready to do like eight more measures this like right it's so fun and i'm ready to do so much more. Dude, go start a show.
Starting point is 01:45:05 Okay. I was going to say like, I bet you could, you could morph the two, like, cause Trey, I'm sure would not want to rap, but he would,
Starting point is 01:45:11 he would just belt out the singing and then you would do a verse, you know, or whatever. Someday I would love that. I think we could do something really impressive. Kind of like the whole, uh, Mexican like song that we did that one time,
Starting point is 01:45:22 the reggae tone song. When I kind of like that, kind of like that. Yeah. That was so fun.gaeton song when I don't like that kind of like that yeah that was so fun you know when I met Nikita in person I was like I think I've said that in my fake I didn't say this to it yeah I think I was like saying Nikita in my fake Mexican or fake Spanish song that we did man that's a good time we should do more songs okay oh wait it's blinking oh was I mean that means it's almost over yeah sorry it's blinking. Oh, what does that mean? That means it's almost over. Yeah. Sorry. It's blinking. I don't know how long it's been. Okay.
Starting point is 01:45:52 So while we record a week, we're going to, the YouTube video is about to be over with. Sorry. We're running low on technology. We're down to one computer. I don't live here anymore. What's our battery life? Battery life is great. 43%. Oh, baby.
Starting point is 01:45:59 So Jingle is going to be audio only this week. Sorry, patrons. I didn't think we'd record this long. I know. Have we gone for a while? I mean, it must be an hour 40. That's how much the camera had. only this week. Sorry, patrons. I didn't think we'd record this long. I know. Have we gone for a while? I mean, it must be an hour 40. That's how much the camera had. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:09 Oh, well, I don't have I don't have podcasts on my phone anymore. I deleted it the other day when I was trying to. So I need your help with the review of the week. I want the one that the girl was in labor. OK, this is Brad's review of the week. Thank you. At 2.30 a.m. on Monday, I went into labor. My husband and I rushed to the hospital only to play the waiting game for the entire morning and afternoon.
Starting point is 01:46:26 While we were sitting in the labor and delivery unit impatiently waiting for things to get moving, I saw myself in the mirror in my white polka-dotted hospital gown and instantly thought of Jake's famous hospital shirt from Target. Then I happily realized it was Monday and a new Ghostbusters episode was out. Thanks for distracting us a little bit and making us laugh during an anxious time. Know your newest little ghostie, Maxwell David, arrived later that night at 1116 p.m. He's excited for his first Monday morning with Jake and Brad next week. Heart emoji. Let's go, Maxwell David.
Starting point is 01:46:53 Welcome to the world, my brother. Do good things. The it just went out. So, yeah, audio only from this point. OK. My review of the week is titled i beg to differ don't know these people but love them their families and their friends uh brunette white girl in a purple shirt shrugging hands up emoji best part of listening the laughs duh which i
Starting point is 01:47:19 wish you would have said doy i love saying doy yeah no doy worst part of listening being unable to shout back at them when they were oh so wrong about something which i've said right that's got to be frustrating i know it is every time i listen to correct opinions i have a hard time with it and it's like jake's my friend i'm sorry yeah crying laughing emoji but for real jake and brad are great at bringing little joy to any humdrum day i'm late to the party so listen to a couple of the newest and how to go back at the beginning to catch up on all the inside jokes favorite bits so far so far have to be brad's donald trump impersonation and jake's little high-pitched voice when he's pertaining to be someone else correcting someone oh i read that do you remember what that is i do not me neither so but i'm glad it's one of your
Starting point is 01:47:58 favorite bits so that's a voice memo of that and and impersonate it highly recommend adding ghost runners to your regular listening gotta really up that amperage and listen right through there, you know? Listen right through there, you know? I don't know. Sure. Sure. Thank you for all the reviews. Thank you, everyone,

Hey time to play guess that slap What do you think that one was I don't why I'm like still looking at the camera. It's literally off. It's a habit I can't stop. Yeah, okay, actually sorry. Starting point is 01:49:36 Guess who is back? I sent her a video message with Aubrey Magoon on her phone. The Goonster. Goon. That's what I want to say every time I hear about Aubrey Magoon. It's just the Goonster. All right, let's do it want to say every time I hear about Aubrey Bagoone. It's just the Goonster. All right, let's do it. Well, we're 15 seconds into the song, so.
Starting point is 01:49:51 Well, oh, it might be my computer. My computer does that weird thing sometimes where the sound just doesn't work. Okay. Hey. Should we just do it on a. I'm getting into some settings here. Oh, I've tried, Jake. No.

Starting point is 01:51:38 Instrumental. So Jake's doing a crazy dance right now. I wish you guys could see it. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. It's actually my first time in 10 years getting my legs behind my head. Oh, my gosh. I didn't know guys could see it. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Nice. I started recording on my phone. I was like, I could just post this to the Patreon. Yeah. But I didn't think of it until halfway through.

Well, you did the guitar part on your own that's true yeah so mission accomplished awesome um thanks heath heath all right so that has been episode 136 i believe i don't have my computer so i think it's 136 yeah i'm pretty sure thank you i'm almost always right with those things we always double check with the person sitting right there so that makes sense yeah have any final words for him Brad um any thoughts any
