Starting point is 00:00:00 Let's do it. Hey, let's have a day. Let's have a day. Hey, put the bat on the ball. Kid, be a champion today. We should we should get that up there. Slap it up there. Do I hit the ceiling boxing today?
Starting point is 00:00:11 That was a bummer. And it wasn't while I was boxing. I I didn't really didn't know. I guess we're just let's just start the episode. Sure. I didn't know who won or not. And like the winner is you like standing next to the ref and then he's like the red corner and so when he lift like lifted my hand up in vr i lifted my
Starting point is 00:00:30 hands up and just nailed my hands on the ceiling so it wasn't even like yeah while you were fighting it was literally just well boom popcorn ceiling things just flying everywhere and the worst part is i didn't know that isaac were watching. So that was a bummer. Uh-oh. Ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white meat too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Let's have some fun and go ahead. Get on your feet because it's the Ghost Rubs Podcast. Ghost Rubs Podcast. Every Monday morning we're taking round Ghost Rubs Podcast. Dude, I say all the time, like it's so, or I said it earlier, like it's so funny to imagine you boxing. Not because like the whole like air, whatever they call it, shadow boxing is so funny, but like the idea of you having that headset on your face is so funny. The goggles. Yeah. They just make you look like such a dweeb. Yes. You can't look matter what you could take Mike Tyson and have him do the boxing VR game, but put the goggles on. I'm like, what a dork. No. Yeah. Like no matter who it is, LeBron James is still look
Starting point is 00:01:38 like a dweeb. Yeah. Yeah. So that's VR. I got a good workout. Actually. Yeah. Brad called me like an hour or so ago. I was like, Hey, are you ready to podcast? And I was like, yeah. Um,
Starting point is 00:01:48 weirdly enough, like I, you know, I landed this morning. I got home. I worked out. Uh, I showered.
Starting point is 00:01:53 I got a shower. I like put on nice, fresh clothes. I started a load of laundry. I'm doing my hair. Like everything about it felt like I was going to go on a date, but I'm not seeing a woman. I'm seeing Brad and the ghosties.
Starting point is 00:02:03 So you're getting my best. That's right. Bring your best. Yeah. bring your best yeah bring your best bring your best uh also today less than an hour ago 10 minutes ago uh our friend derrick uh sweet derrick faceless derrick faceless derrick uh correct opinions editor jean shorts uh videographer editor ghost runners basketball yes videographer, editor, Ghost Runners basketball videographer from June 3rd. Yes. He wears many hats. Yes. One of them is broker of Chiefs tickets
Starting point is 00:02:33 as of 15 minutes ago. Did you say Chiefs tickets? I don't know. What did I say? No, you said Chiefs. Because I struggle on broker. But Chiefs tickets, he texts me and Brad,
Starting point is 00:02:44 hey, got nine tickets available for the Chiefs playoff game tomorrow this is a huge game huge bills that basically what everyone believes is not just Brad nice dance but like whoever wins this game is going to the Super Bowl this feels like the AFC feels like it conference no offense Bengals and Titans but I mean look yourself in the mirror anyway big game he's got lower bowl, 14 throw up from the field. Very good tickets for only $200. Yeah. Which would be more than I've ever spent on a sporting event in my entire life.
Starting point is 00:03:12 But hey, I've been a Chiefs fan all my life, but I owe him something. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah. And anyway, I was immediately kind of excited. Yeah. I was like, I would be. And Brad's like, I mean, watching at home is nice. No.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Yeah. My initial reaction, like when you were like, did you see that text? I was like, no, I'm not going. And you're like, I would be. And Brad's like, I mean, watching at home is nice. No. Yeah. My initial reaction, like when you were like, did you see that text? I was like, no, I'm not going. And you're like, what? Like, I was like, I was like black and white. No. And then the more I thought about it, I was like, okay, if all my friends are going to go, I'm not saying no.
Starting point is 00:03:35 So Peter's over. So, you know, we didn't know where Peter is at. I was like, I'll text Gunner. And they're like, wait, the biggest tightwad out of all of us. Discount Duckworth. He's probably not i text him anyway gunner texts back in 10 seconds where are the seats i text him he said i'll do it like oh baby this is happening yeah i'm starting to rally brad yeah rally isaac like boys is this
Starting point is 00:03:55 happening i'm texting gunner i think it's gonna happen if we're if we're in i think brad could be in right text back from derrick oh sorry guys gone. I mean, in a matter of what? Three minutes. Yeah. Very quickly. Like, okay. Um, apparently, yeah, he's like, he's like, they're gone. Uh, other tick comparable tickets were going for $750 each business, Brad. Yeah. And then, then that's where, that's when it kicked in of like, okay, that let's do that math real quick. Five 50 times nine Jake. What's that? A lot more than what we would have spent on just one ticket. What is that? $11,000?
Starting point is 00:04:27 550 times nine? No, it's going to be like 500, 5,000. Yeah, you're right. Yeah. Dang it. Yeah. Anyway, we would have made a lot of money off that alone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:38 We didn't do it. A little over 6,000. Yeah, sorry. 11,000 is close. It's in the ballpark between zero and 20,000 is close it's in the ballpark yeah between zero and 20,000 but yeah so we're just gonna watch at home I guess hope it goes well I DM'd the Bills head coach yesterday actually I forgot to see if she even said anything back I don't think I've seen anything head coach's wife sorry yes head coach's wife who I'm great friends with oh old Jamie what if we do this what if we
Starting point is 00:05:03 roll the music and then we hear this? You want to? Oh, I think their music already rolled. Oh, it did? I think at the end of the Oculus stuff, the VR stuff. Hey, let's go ahead and roll it again. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts in white. Me too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along, let's have some fun
Starting point is 00:05:24 and go ahead. Get on your feet. Cause it's the Ghost Rubs Podcast. Every Monday morning we're taking round. Ghost Rubs Podcast. Ghost Rubs Podcast. Yeah, we're back, baby. So she has not read or responded to the message. Okay, what did you say to her? Although it would be impressive if she had responded without reading it. Because you, yeah. Yeah, that're back, baby. So she has not read or responded to the message.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Although it would be impressive if she had responded without reading it. Because you, yeah, yeah. You had mentioned like, hey, I'm going to text, or maybe you said like, I have her number. I have her DM or whatever. I should, I should. Yeah, but we're friends. We've, we've DM'd outside of just Chief Spill stuff. And I was like, I was like, Jake, like you need to say something to like, get, get in this girl's head, but be funny enough with it that she would say it to her
Starting point is 00:06:08 husband, who's the coach. And it would just psych him out just a little bit to the point where he goes forward on fourth and five or something. And it just like completely changes the game. And then you could say, yeah, that was me. I did that. So what'd you say? I've been watching the Tom Brady documentary. So I feel like I'm in the right space to borderline sheet and also get in her head. Right. Naturally. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Um, so what I did is I was just very polite and said, are you coming to Kansas City this weekend? I'm laying the base and, um, she has not taken the bait yet. She had not come to Kansas City the first time, but that was not playoff game.
Starting point is 00:06:43 No, it was not. She had a show in Buffalo to see. She was very excited about that show. Man, it's crazy. Anyway. Well, there was like four different things that we weren't planning on talking about, but we're out of the gate.
Starting point is 00:06:53 We're hot out of the gate. Pew. And we're back. It's Saturday afternoon for us. I just got back for a few days of touring. Back a day early. Yes. Durham, North Carolina.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Big snowstorms coming. We had to cancel the show. Oh, Durham. Gosh, Durham. Gosh, Durham. I was excited about that. Yeah, yeah. Oh, Durham.
Starting point is 00:07:15 But truly, I want to know if it actually iced or not in Durham. I don't know. Because if you live in Durham, let us know the ice situation. I've experienced enough. There's all this millennial hooey. let's get conservative dad on him real quick there's too many times where it's like hey it's gonna snow in four days let's cancel school now and it's like
Starting point is 00:07:34 why why not just wait till the night before you know and because then what happens is it's like well it's because the ice they're gonna be so much ice it's like well there was no ice today and yet kids are still not out in school good to know your stance you're pro-education brad you want to keep the kids once i graduated i was like this is crap the days where it was like oh it didn't end up snowing at all but we were out of school it was awesome yeah oh yeah used to be keep god in our schools and now you're just let's just keep kids in our schools i know that's crazy crazy thought like kids should be in schools i think they should crazy thought these days no speaking of closing school so we performed in charleston south carolina last night yeah it had not snowed yet it had not even rained and they canceled
Starting point is 00:08:14 school because it was uh it got down to 40 degrees yesterday wait yesterday was oh wait so it was friday yes yeah 40 degrees was good enough think about that so granted south carolina that's why it closed but 40 degrees it was strictly weather because we heard schools canceled like oh covet outbreak no way this might get down to 39 are you positive oh 100 we talked to like p yeah that we talked to that was the reason was because it was too cold yeah because like 40 degrees even by like 2 p.m i went to uh like go on a little walk go to starbucks trying to close my rings loops as katherine would say that was so funny okay quick bookmark in this story um yeah we're all was it the chiefs game we were all over your house last week and i'm like i'm an apple watch
Starting point is 00:08:55 guy now whatever and katherine's like oh you know i'm so excited to say this to you too like i learned something pretty new and uh hip if i do say so myself this weekend i was talking to my sister she uh she was kind of educating me on the lingo of the apple watch and she was telling me all about how big of a deal it is when you close your loops i was like we've only had a couple of weeks but even before that i mean i think everyone knows it's rings right like that's you hear that like closer ring she's like i'm pretty sure she said loops. She said loops. And that's classic Catherine too.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Like I do believe that she said loops, but I also believe that even if she didn't, Catherine would never admit it. Like, like she's like, no, she said loops. I think 30 minutes later, we'd given her a hard enough time about it that she was like, she might've said rings. She was starting to budge a little bit.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Maybe she did say rings. Brooks, if you're listening to this, does Katie say loops or rings so then yeah what are all the jokes right hey link your loops this week man link your loops link those loops those loops i was just tapping apple watches people um but it is crazy it truly works on me i'm like i want to like you could do competitions against people like who can burn more calories it's like i would normally maybe door dash something like i'm gonna go on a walk i'm gonna i'm gonna get some steps in whatever it works on me it works great but i start walking yeah it's
Starting point is 00:10:08 like 40 degrees but i got coats i'm fine i got the big sherpa sure the one that you said that's a coat did we talk about that last week no i wasn't on the podcast that was right before i think okay we'll talk about that next and also well yeah the coat whatever um so i'm fine i'm kind of jogging last week though yeah i weren't on the podcast last week but it starts raining while i'm on the walk but still it's like yeah 39 38 degrees and just rain and that was as bad as it got at 2 30 it rained school's been canceled all day a lot of people didn't show up to the show and so lucas and i i mean let them have it on stage just like god forbid you guys leave your home right i know you're not quarantined we're in south carolina i know you guys don't care about
Starting point is 00:10:49 that right but you know is charleston that warm of a climate where 39 degrees is like like the arctic like i don't think of charleston as like like this balmy like 100 degree like all the time place i mean obviously it's not but it's right on the ocean right i've heard that the closer to the ocean the more consistent your weather should be yeah and it's pretty close to floor i mean it's south south carolina i don't know okay i have no idea but geographically yeah it probably is pretty warm most of the time that's crazy though 39 degrees yeah that's what i'm talking about yeah it's like that's why it was like because of the threat of like hey it might be a little bit colder than this like can buses even right can gasoline even work i work? I don't know. I don't know if we're going to have to turn our buses on like 30
Starting point is 00:11:28 minutes early guys to let those things run. Can you imagine paying people 30 minutes more of work? Yeah. So, yeah. Uh, so that's just kind of the nature of the South this week was it was, there was a cold front, which we were so excited to golf. Like, Ooh, in the middle of January, we're going to Atlanta. We're going to Charleston. We'll get to golf. Yeah in the middle of january we're going to atlanta we're going to charleston we're getting to golf yeah not even close um and i text you about this but this is kind of a fun aspect of the night oh yeah atlanta theater the most beautiful theater we've probably ever performed in visually it would have been my favorite of all time had they had hvac in their theater that's right no heat it was about 36 38 degrees that night and during soundcheck we're like anybody else kind of
Starting point is 00:12:05 chilly yeah maybe they'll just turn the heat on later or maybe like once people get in here to kind of warm up that's what i would think like the people would bring some heat and um i talked to my friends who are in the top row and they said it wasn't bad up there but i mean on stage lower level it i cannot express enough how much it felt like you were performing outdoors i mean it was it felt no different than being outside like the air was kind of thin. It was just like cold. I mean, I, I've never worn that many layers performing for, I mean, everything I had that still look nice. I put on, was that the one where you had like the hoodie with the jacket over? Yeah. Yeah. Jacket over the hood. I had that thought when I saw that picture before knowing
Starting point is 00:12:40 that it was like so cold, I was like, wow jake's like layering up like or he you know he's done a lot of shadow boxing to the base he's bulking up a little bit that's right uh but i remember so you know i go out and perform i'm now i'm off stage for like an hour or so when i go back on to sing i grab my microphone and it felt like a popsicle seriously i like i i sat on it i was like trying to mother goose it i was like maybe my body heat can warm it up before i go out there you know you're like the armpits are like the warmest thing so you're like throwing it in there uh that's so it's interesting especially like even if it has like decent insulation it wouldn't be that cold in there that's what lucas was doing jokes about that it's like do you guys
Starting point is 00:13:15 know about insulation yeah do you guys know that this exists right because like my my garage like if it's like 30 some degrees outside it'd be 55 60 in there which is not like warm but it's not ice cold you know popsicle mic level i've never had popsicle drill no i've never said that never once so it was just um it was kind of fun being in the south and being around people who just when i walked to starbucks yeah it was like 38 degrees and there's a guy in like t-shirts and t-shirt and shorts like walking out at starbucks just shivering. I'm like this dude, just, they don't even know what to do down there. They don't have a coat. They don't know what's happening. They're like chickens with their head cut off. They don't know what to do to, you know, down South.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Catherine loves telling this story about whenever she first moved to Kansas from Texas, uh, she went over to like some social gathering at my parents' house and she gets there and it was, it was in the winter time. And like my dad was like, Oh, did you, did you forget your winter coat? And Catherine was like, I didn't, I don't know what that means. What is a, what is a winter coat? I don't know what that means. She's like, I have a coat, like I have a jacket. That's my coat. I mean, it's December. So yeah, I thought this was what I was supposed to wear and just be really cold. She didn't realize that people like have like a big, huge coats that they wear. So now she does.
Starting point is 00:14:28 So now she's got one, but she loves telling a story. Whatever she was wearing during that live stream, people were loving that. Oh yeah. She's an influencer now. What is that? A winter shacket? What was that? No, that's not a shacket.
Starting point is 00:14:38 That was a straight up coat. I don't know what you call it. Straight up coat. It was, it was reminding me of the mom kate mccallister on home alone yeah it's her coat yeah and she said like katherine that was kind of her motivation for it was like she's like ever since i grew up i always thought that was a great coat and it still seems like a timeless classic coat so i decided i was going to get it and just have it forever so love timeless coats yeah that's what she's always said it was in our wedding vows and you said i do yeah
Starting point is 00:15:04 i do uh speaking of coats this is kind of interesting i would love your theory on this because i'm also working on my own theories okay i have a friend and she something has been happening i don't know if i've told you this or not yet yeah where she has been receiving coats to her door what so they say it's her name and her address so it looks like it should be going to her. They got everything right. Okay. And it's coming from these stores like Dick's Sporting Goods was one.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Shields was one. And they're brand new coats. Okay. Winter coats. Catherine would love them. Yeah. So far, she's got like an adult men's large, a women's adult small. Like nothing is consistent about the coats.
Starting point is 00:15:47 And how in the world, what are your theories? I don't, I don't, I don't have a single theory except for like some, like they're just have really nice grandma or something that's in after. So that's what I was like, have we checked all the family members who are like really bad at Christmas gift giving and timing and knowing your size, how to, how to do anything really really really all aspects of the gift giving process she's like check with family nothing okay um i don't know if i really had any theory that made sense my theory was let's take these back and have a shopping spree this is so fun that's my theory don't think about it what about the theory of maybe your friend's just an idiot and is ordering these things and you didn't and it's like just acts just acts like, acts like she accidentally does it all the time. Like online shopping in her sleep.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Being like, I don't know. I don't remember doing any of this. Right, just sleep shopping. I think I talked about it in a Just Jake episode, but when I got something from Dick's Sporting Goods, it ended up being from Trey. So I was like, could Trey Kennedy have gotten you these coats?
Starting point is 00:16:37 That's probably true. And that, so that's, that was actually my first and only real theory. Didn't Katie, Trey's wife, get a bunch of stuff one time? Like random clothing. Do you remember that? Because I i remember he was like would your wife want these and i was like they're like double xl so i don't think so huh i don't remember that i know every day i go over there there's packages on the porch it's unbelievable it's crazy i don't know if they ever leave their home i think everything gets delivered to them everything everything but um
Starting point is 00:17:02 so her only theory that even somewhat makes sense which it doesn't even make that much sense because so she's a teacher she's like yeah okay the only thing i think of is a few weeks ago i got tagged in the comment section which is not even like anything of my own doing i got tagged in the comment section of another teacher's facebook status that said i'm collecting used coats for the students okay okay i mean that's but they're coming from dick sporting goods and shields yeah so it's a it's a pretty far stretch of like someone sees like oh so and so yeah is needing used coats and oh she's tagged in the comments i'll send her brand new ones because i know her address because i'll figure out her
Starting point is 00:17:42 address that's not anywhere public anymore because the yellow pages don't exist. So we're so far away from anything that makes sense, but that's the closest working theory. Stay tuned on Coatgate. Or new idea, business. Business idea. Coat subscriptions.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Monthly coats sent to your door, but they're not all the same size. Yeah. Do whatever you want with them. They're your coats. They're your coats. I think it'd be a good excuse to like find a place to go every single month that you need a coat. Everyone's always acting like, Hey, let's go. Let's go to the warm places in the winter months. Why not go to the cold places during
Starting point is 00:18:16 the summer months? Show off your new coat. Yeah. Yeah. Siberia is wonderful in May. I'm tired. We've talked before on this podcast, how annoying the phrase cuffing season is new phrase. It's coding season, coding season. Show off your new coats. Yeah. Yeah. Omni heat season, baby. Yeah. Let's go to Anchorage. Yeah. It's coding season. Uh, you were talking about like people being bad at gift giving and whatever. It reminded me of old people. It reminded me of Catherine's grandpa just turned 93 the other day. That's old. Um, it's old. And I was like, she said, we FaceTime with granddaddy today. I was like, how'd that go? She's like, it went as good as it could have gone with the 93 year old man. She's like, he's not, he's 93. Uh, and you know, there were multiple times where he would ask questions and you hear
Starting point is 00:18:59 Catherine's grandma be like, no, that's, that's Caroline, not Catherine. That's not, you're asking about the wrong one or whatever. Uh, or ask. And then at one time she heard her go, ask about, ask about Brad. How's Brad doing? And he's like, how's Brad doing? This is the guy. I don't know. I think I told this a long time ago that this is the guy that like, he's from Texas from like West Texas has like an accent and he's also really old. And so it's like impossible for the first time I met him, it was like impossible to understand him, but his dad, like, or Catherine's dad,
Starting point is 00:19:27 like understands him perfectly. Do you remember me saying that? Like, yeah, yeah. He was like, and he says that K-State's got a good quarterback this year, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:34 whatever. So anyway, he was asking, how's Brad doing? You know, he's doing well. And he goes, well,
Starting point is 00:19:39 and, and, and how's that talk show of his? Oh, there it is. I love that idea. I love that idea. I love that idea. I love the idea that he thinks I have a talk show.
Starting point is 00:19:48 No, I like it. Which is not, it's not that off. I want to rebrand right away. Ghost Runners talk show. Ghost Runners talk show. That's so fun. T-shirts. Ghost Runners talk show.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I like that. That's so fun. Yeah. So anyway, shout out to Jerry. 93 year old Jerry. Yeah. The Ghost Runners talk show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Ghost Runners talk show is not bad. That's great. Okay. So that reminds me of a story. I was maybe going to save this for like a story to tell live at F12 when my dad's there, but whatever, it's kind of coming up for camping. I went out to dinner. One of my, my dad's best friend from high school lives in San Diego. So we went out. Mark Daniels. Paul Shira. Paul Shira. Almost. He doesn't listen to the talk show. Not yet. Uh, so he lives in San Diego. So I went out with him and his family before the san diego show
Starting point is 00:20:25 it was good to catch up with them when i went and did all the american idol stuff in san diego in 2011 i stayed with paul cool they let me use their car it was called alumina called the fruit of the lumina oh it's awesome so we got to catch up right the shires and he was uh telling me this story about how paul was with a friend or a coworker of his named, uh, Raj or something, uh, Indian guy,
Starting point is 00:20:48 but born and raised in like New York city or something. So like, okay. Speaks perfectly like normal, whatever. Sure. Tom Haverford. My dad calls Paul while they're hanging out.
Starting point is 00:21:00 And so Paul puts it on speakerphone. They have about a five minute conversation or whatever. Short call Paul. Short call Paul Paul they get done with the phone call and I guess Raj says to my dad's friend Paul he goes did you hear a word that guy said really and Paul's like yeah I had a conversation with he's like I didn't catch a word that he just said awesome which is so crazy i mean one that a guy who's born and raised in america right would have trouble understanding him right but it's also funny to think about this like indian man being like man i didn't understand
Starting point is 00:21:33 him at all yeah yeah yeah and also it's so funny because my dad really does have an accent and we are from the same county i mean this almost identical like home towns and i don't know why he talks the way he does does your do your grandparents have a good accent like that too i maybe a little bit of a draw but not really because that's what's interesting to me is like it's understandable if it's like my dad has an accent because he grew up with his parents uh but you know this other guy paul does not have an accent because he had these kind of parents. Uh, but you know, this other guy, Paul does not have an accent cause he had these kinds of parents. But then you would think if that's the, you know, logic, then Jake and Caitlin would also have accents. It would just keep getting passed on. Right. And it's like, yeah, why? Cause, cause yeah. And in Texas, like it's
Starting point is 00:22:17 classic, like there's some people out there that have like great accents. I think Catherine's parents have a decent accent, but her siblings don't really. It's just funny to me how that all works like that. Something must have went wrong. They had a house with lead-based paint growing up. That's accent. Yeah. It's an accent piece. You're like accent furniture.
Starting point is 00:22:35 That's what that means. It can also create an accent in your baby boy. So be careful out there. Dude, that's really interesting about your dad. Because I've been to like, have you been to Ireland or like any place that speaks? Well, Trinidad is a great example. Tricky. It's like, there's no way you just said English words to me. I know. I should know. Did you see that? Um, Australian thing. Um, that's a great script. I don't know. Okay. So it's, it's around the same,
Starting point is 00:22:59 this is the same idea. The same theme is it was this Australian government official with this, uh, Aborigine translator. Cause I guess there's like these Aborigine like tribes in Australia that speak Aborigine Australian. And it was like this government guy talking about like, Hey, make sure you get vaccinated. And then the Aborigine person like translating it. And it was literally like, you know, we need to make sure you, I'm so bad, but let me, let me think about it. And it was literally like, you need, we need to make sure you, I'm so bad. My accent's bad. That's not too bad. Let me,
Starting point is 00:23:27 let me think about it. Yeah. Hello. Hello. Yeah. I don't know. Like make sure you get the needle, make sure you get the needle.
Starting point is 00:23:35 And then literally the aborigine person just goes, uh, make sure you get the needle. It was like, it was like, it was just, well, we don't have to put it in right now.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Cause I know we're, well, we got, it's Saturday. Yeah. Just to put it in. You want me to find're well yes it's saturday yeah just to put it in you want me to find it yes this is a findable thing yeah do i search australian australian aborigine can you spell that sure translator translator yeah that's that's it that's enough it's gonna be a man and a small woman oh my gosh from two years ago surely Surely not. I'm going to need a link. Australian Aborigine translator.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Six days ago. Yeah. Guy in a suit? Oh yeah. Why guy in a suit? This is an important message to keep Aboriginal people safe. Does that sound right? Yep. And this message is probably an important one to keep everybody
Starting point is 00:24:25 safe one. It's like the same things. You can die from the corona or get really sick. You better can pass away from this corona or you better can get really sick one. Wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 00:24:41 It's like an SNL skit. You're telling me I speak aboriginal. Yes, exactly. I understand those people a thousand percent better than I understand Irish Americans. I had no idea we had an aborigine talk show. You can either get a really sick one. You pass away. Yeah, I'll pass away.
Starting point is 00:24:59 It's like, yeah, I get it. This is amazing. It's time to get the coronan corona needle to keep people and country strong. Again, it's time to get him this needle, the corona, to keep all the people and country from a strong one. Okay. It's the same thing. It's like throwing a few ums and ones
Starting point is 00:25:26 and yeah it got to you know here's something else i just noticed is this video i'm watching which came up it was number one result after i typed in uh aborigine spelled a different way is has 167 views not thousand not a million okay 167 how do you know about this video i saw it existing no i was just i was just looking i was on aboriginal i follow aborigine you're subreddit it's omni x yeah so like 3 a.m no i don't know it was posted somewhere else on instagram or something huh because it was like it was like the most ridiculous thing i can't believe this is real it's unbelievable and it's like it was also like it seemed like it was such a intentional
Starting point is 00:26:05 like professionally done thing he's at the same time she was it was like she wasn't ready to translate until right after he said it i don't know the whole thing was just funny well she's reading off of something like it doesn't even look like she needs him there like she's looking off a piece of paper she doesn't understand what he's saying really is what yeah she's just she knows what to read she'll look at him later and be like i don't understand a word that guy just said that's so funny that's that's shocking huh yeah anyway so what are we talking about we get all there from the cold i think in atlanta maybe dad paul shira paul shira i don't know who um i had such a a week, dude. Like I have stuff written down, but it's just so normal. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Oh, okay. Here's kind of a funny story. It's short, but delivered. No, I got a table picked up a couple of days ago from Gary. Fui Moano. Okay. Right. He is Samoan of Samoan descent.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Oh, cool. And I don't know much about Samoans except for they do the Haka cool Haka. That's sweet. Um, and, but he was like, he was showing me these different things. He, it's a classic, like whenever, whenever you talk to anybody else, it's a, like a, like whenever somebody talks to me as a woodworker, they always want to show me the things they've done that are related to woodworking. Okay. And never once have they ever had it prepared. And it is, that is my least favorite of all the silences in the world is somebody trying to find a photo on their phone. Do you ever experience this? I experienced it all the time.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Like, like, Oh yeah, I have a project I made for that. And they have no idea what year they made it in. And so they're, they're just scrolling through scrolling. Oh yeah. Like I actually conservative dad part two, I did this because it's like, it's like such a dad thing to be like, let me find that picture. Hold on now. And it just kills a conversation for like two minutes. It's like, Oh no, that's something, that's something else. Actually. I did that. That's pretty cool. Oh, that's of my daughter. That's a Corvette. That's cherry red Corvette 1978. I, you know, whatever. It's like, anyway, finally finds this picture, shows it to me. And he's like, you know, whatever. It's like, anyway, finally finds this picture, shows it to me. And he's like, you know, we, we made them, you know, we made these tables and we, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:09 we're, we're Samoan. So we had to make, make some good ones. And I, I didn't really understand the context of that. Like, did you ask him, well, after you made one, do you feel like you needed to make Samoa? We want Samoa. We want Samoa. Yeah. Uh, I did not. That would have been great. Uh, but, but I didn't understand the context clue of like, okay, maybe Simone, the major, a lot of them or whatever. Yeah. I wouldn't have known what to think about. There wasn't, there wasn't really enough for me to comment more than getting free coats more than just like, Oh, no, no, for sure. I would have thought that too. Okay. Gotcha. And later on, he was like, you know, cause Samoans were all really big people. Like,
Starting point is 00:28:42 and he's a, he was an overweight an overweight guy not like crazy but like just a big burly guy and i was like oh okay so that's why you had to make like a he meant like nice like sturdy bench is what he was talking about how he's making it and he goes yeah i got a cousin you know um that's like six three and i mean and i six, three, that's not that big. And he goes, you should see the size of her hands. And I was like, Oh snap. Okay. Okay. Okay. You want to talk aborigine? Wasn't expecting that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's like, she should have been a linebacker, you know? So that was just a funny story of just like, yeah, just thinking, okay, six, three, like that's big. I have Harrison's six three probably yeah like that's not that big but for a woman that's a pretty tall woman i like the idea of him just like keeping you in limbo the whole time i mean you know simone's we need big tables yeah right
Starting point is 00:29:34 right because you don't believe in birth control yeah you're seven and seven you know kind of thing right yeah you're just trying to like catch up he's like we're big people like oh right i mean yeah yeah look at you you're huge like big hearted right. He's like, we're big people. Like, oh, right. I mean, yeah. Yeah. I mean, look at you. You're huge. Like big hearted. Right. Big hearted. Oh, right. Like you love family. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Yeah. Ohana. Ohana. Ohana. No, that's a Hawaiian. No, no, no. Like more likely to get heart disease. Like we have big hearts.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Oh, oh, right. You need more room for vegetables. Right. No, you know, just a wide table for all the, all the vegetables you're harvesting. Baseball is finally back. I knew some Samoans in college. And yeah, stereotype checks out.
Starting point is 00:32:35 They were very sweet guys. Yeah. But two out of the three of them played defensive tackle. Yep. So. Vitavea. Yeah. An average-sized rowboat could not contain them.
Starting point is 00:32:44 I'll say that. But yeah, nice guys. Everyoneboat could not contain them. I'll say that. But yeah, nice guys. Everyone loves the Samoans. They're great. That makes me think of, do you know, what do you think of when you hear the word Samoa? Anything? I think, I think of just like, I see like a blue and green canvas. And then I think of like long, like curly black hair.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Okay. So Moana basically. Sure. That's what you're Okay. So Moana basically. Sure. That's what you're saying. So describing most of Moana. So I bet half the listeners right now, when they hear the word Samoa, think of the Girl Scout cookie that's called Samoa.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Oh, I do not think that. The other half would never have ever, never heard of. What? I've never heard of the Samoa Girl Scout cookie because in half the country, Girl Scout cookies that are listed are called Samoas. Half the country, they're called Caramel Delights. There's an anecdote to say at parties. Yes. There's like, for whatever reason, they have- What divides it? Mississippi? No. Missouri? I looked it up one time. Mason Dixon? What are we talking? I don't know, dude. It's like, I don't know. There's no rhyme or reason to it. It's like
Starting point is 00:33:44 certain parts of Texas call them Samoas, others Carmel Delights. There's something called Dosie Does. We call them something else. Could it be a Republican Democrat thing? Is it by county? Registered voters. Yeah, it's probably just like mail-in versus whatever ballots.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I don't know why it's one or the other, but there's so many different things like that. There's something called Dosie-si-dos um roly-polies what is it ring around the rosies yeah those two something so anyway can you tell i've never bought girl scout cookies oh this is fascinating i finally found a map yeah weird it's so random weird the map looks oh i don't know how to describe what i'm looking at like um um jackson pollock scatterblot kind of it kind of looks like someone who uh i'm not gonna talk okay okay it looks like a scattered map yeah that's fascinating no it is yeah let me let me find some different different examples because like and like the thin mints they're both called thin
Starting point is 00:34:42 mints but they look different or like they're called peanut butter patties in one place other place call them tag alongs i've always been peter butter patties guy i've always been a pbps wait okay the map i just found it wasn't even the right map this says that yellow is abc bakers and purple is little brownie bakers i think those are just two different suppliers of it because even like the thin mints the thin mints look different depending on what part of the country you're in. Hey, Girl Scout Cookies, let's get your supply chain in order. Let's have one company outsource and fulfill all your...
Starting point is 00:35:12 That's called a monopoly, Jake, and we don't want to encourage that, okay? I don't think that's what a monopoly is. That's exactly what a monopoly is. There's only one kind of cookie. Exactly. Girls, this is fascinating. Kansas City has one type
Starting point is 00:35:23 and St. Louis has the other type. Same state. We all know which one's better than what kind of cookies do the abc bakers provide the best ones i don't know but anyway good stuff now you know now you know anecdote for parties you guys same stuff like can you imagine being like so desperate for something to talk about that you're like well you know they're called samoa's down in in st louis you guys ever been to charleston when it's cold out how about this weather we're having anyway okay i was looking through my old tweets yesterday i was trying to like come up with more uh the intros are back on my instagram story with uh yeah that's right comedy shows because you took him away cool dj tom almost tour manager
Starting point is 00:36:05 tom uh dj travis dj travis what a guy i know that yeah you're like unimpressed by his style or his vibe or something brad always replies to my story like man i just can't believe that's what the dj looks like but travis is awesome oh yeah to be fair i've only seen him for like yeah 10 seconds from far away in a on a story yeah yeah no i love travis he's great he's been introducing us and helping us out yeah actually last night hold on i gotta stay focused okay oh yeah i was looking through my old tweets to try and find inspiration for like more intros and it was so fun because i've never done i've never gone through my old tweets before most time i'm just embarrassed like i don't want anyone to see this but there was a shocking amount of like stances and like things i said in like 2013 that i still
Starting point is 00:36:41 like hold on to today like for instance what I was just talking like small talk, like how about that weather? Yeah. And I, like I saw some tweet last night, which is like, I, there's nothing I could stand more than someone just being like, this weather has been nuts, huh? It's like, it just shows me you have nothing to talk about. And I was like, yes, that is so true. I talked about that. I talked about, I remember one time my dad left me a voicemail that I put on my story that everyone loved. And he's like like i got a stand up premise for you which i used it once this week the hospital one yeah it's like when someone says like i'm no doctor but right you know and then you know strap in for the worst medical advice
Starting point is 00:37:16 ever heard right i used that on stage in boise and it was kind of fun um took it out i'm gonna rework it but the whole time i was thinking like this is my dad's joke that he gave me in 2013 i tweeted at like that premise basically i was like you know you're in for a good sentence when it starts with i'm no doctor oh really it's just like fun to see this like parallel thinking even me and myself or me my dad or even me and you right same guys yeah back in the day you should go back to your old tweets it was kind of fun okay and see i'll check them out and get back to you i'm gonna write that down as my go through old tweets yeah there was a bunch of good ones um that i was never i was not nearly as like active with being clever on twitter as you were probably but see that's like all i cared about yeah like i screenshotted some of mine to send
Starting point is 00:37:55 to some friends tinder was down all weekend which is a bummer for all the 19 to 23 year old girls within 30 miles of me that's so dumb um people who's into snapchat for the full 10 seconds vastly underestimate the value of other people's time nice um one of the best parts about staying up super late every night is that wait hold on i just got really distracted by something in my room nice um i'm not saying i have dyslexia i just get some of my letters drawbacks if the apple orchard might be swarmed by bees this is good okay where should the gardener keep her spray be cider okay two words sure um awkward silences are just like normal silences except they wear socks with sandals and poke you on facebook
Starting point is 00:38:41 anything that has the the idea of poking somebody on Facebook is good with me because I never once thought, I'm so glad that person poked me. Oh, good. Oh, good. Thank you. Now we can talk. Like now I can comment on your wall. Is poking still a thing? I don't know if it is. I haven't been poked in a minute. I remember listening to some podcast about like social media and Facebook and they were talking about the integration of the poke and the psychology of it was that. What an interesting video you're watching. Integration of the poke. Hello. Don't Google it. But they talked about like the layers of like different, there's like a hierarchy to the meaningfulness of an interaction. Like if you
Starting point is 00:39:21 send someone a direct message on a website, that's like pretty meaningful. Sure. You send them a comment. Maybe that's like second most meaningful. Then there's a like, or there's this. Right. And a poke gives you that bottom layer of like the most, like it is an interaction, but it means almost nothing that they said there's value in like giving people the option. Okay. To like have basically a meaningless interaction on your platform. There's value to having a meaningless reaction. because it like it's a stepping stone see i feel like i i i on one hand i i agree with you but poking versus liking i would i think poking is a little more personal it's like whoa because because you see that one person poked you like there's not like you don't see like you know jake triplet and 15 other people poked you uh you didn't see my facebook in 2012 really popping it It was popping. It was poking. But is that how it worked?
Starting point is 00:40:06 I don't know. I feel like when poking... When somebody likes you... Sorry. When somebody likes a photo of you, you see like, whatever, 55 people like this. You don't like click on that and then look at every single person and be like... Oh, nice. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Oh, nice. You just see like, oh, I got 55 likes on this. Okay, nice. Yeah, I see what you're saying. Whereas poking, it's like... Whoa. Whoa, Jake poked me. Whoa. Whoa. Hey. That guy that guy poked me mariah what are you doing come on calm down right i thought you're married right um anyway that's the poking also i found a tweet for 2014
Starting point is 00:40:35 like this is a stand-up premise so i got one thing out of it i didn't get many intros but i think there's a value and i said that searching through netflix is like finding a girlfriend and the idea of being like it takes a while you know you get recommendations sometimes there's a value in, I said that searching through Netflix is like finding a girlfriend and the idea of being like, it takes a while, you know, you get recommendations. Sometimes there's word of mouth. And then also sometimes it tries to suggest things that you've already seen. Like, why would I want that again or whatever? So maybe something there. Oh yeah. Also found a tweet that I tagged Garrett Gibson in. Um, we were, so I sent it to him. I was like, remember this? We went on a spring break trip together. He was a freshman. I was a senior and in quotes of Garrett Gibson. So what's the game plan as far as meeting people and I just go dot
Starting point is 00:41:08 dot I have a lot of work to do this spring break so like how do we like introduce ourselves so like how do you guys talk to people like on spring break when you're a college student oh man okay got pretty distracted there but yeah DJ Travis yes last night we tried something new didn't even practice it didn't rehearse it at all basically i don't have a five minute conversation beforehand about it yeah alan was like hey i made kind of a track like on like uh like a beat pad or whatever to go with the duet travis is going to come up you know trey if you want and like kind of spin it or whatever and i'm do all that so we're like yeah let's do it cool it got up there yeah it was fun i added a
Starting point is 00:41:44 little it made a little more fun little percussion to it had some like 808s and like claps to it so pretty simple but fun well travis accidentally had the bpms up like to 110 or something so it is the fastest we've ever seen that song i love that i like to do i'm always wanting that song to be faster so it's kind of fun what do you think so 110 versus what probably 80 okay so not like not like crazy crazy yeah definitely but you definitely notice a bit. Oh, right off the bat. Yeah. I'll listen like to our podcast sometimes 1.25 and that doesn't sound like that much
Starting point is 00:42:11 difference, but it really is like when you listen to music specifically on there, it's like, whoa, that's way faster. Yeah. Yeah. So probably the case. Oh, wow. But it was fun. It still went well.
Starting point is 00:42:20 It was really fun. Yeah. Where you just like a little more like pep in the step. And just like hearing bass. It's like, boom. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Boom. Boom. Yeah. You know, it was like, this is fun Were you just like a little more like pepping the step? And just like hearing bass. It's like boom. Yeah. Yeah. Boom.
Starting point is 00:42:26 Boom. Yeah. You know, it was like, this is fun. This makes it a little fun. It helps the white people in the audience clap along too, which is great because they kind of get worn out. See, I, yeah, I was going to say, I'm not a fan of the clap in the audience because it never lasts.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Did it last the whole time? Uh, nope. It never does. Still not with the track. We got to do something to keep them engaged. It never lasts. Yeah. Is there something else? Yeah. It never does. Still not with the track. We got to do something to keep them engaged. It never lasts. Yeah. Is there something else?
Starting point is 00:42:48 Yeah. Maybe, maybe, I don't know. You can incorporate like a chorus into it that you come back to multiple times and they sing along to that chorus or something because yeah, clapping is the worst because it always eventually dies out. And then when it dies out, that's just sad every time. Right? Like, yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:03 It's like, like whenever I hear people start clapping, I'm like, please stop. Please stop right now. Guys, it's just delaying the inevitable. We're going to be done soon. Yeah. But that's fun. I like that. So he was able to dial up and down the beats per minute of this thing.
Starting point is 00:43:16 So I think you start off and he noticed like, oh, that's pretty fast. And so as we're singing, he is slowly bringing it back down to normal, which I'm sure threw people off as well. But it was fine. Threw Alan off for sure yeah alan and we so we didn't rehearse any that alan didn't have any of the track in his wedge no monitor yeah yeah oh he does have a monitor but he didn't he does he doesn't have the track in it okay and also train eyes wedges don't have the track in it so we're just hearing it like reverberating off the back so i was like musically where alan after came off stage like we got to clean that up and i was like oh that's great yeah i had no idea i thought that was like a minus that's great dude yeah that's like that's
Starting point is 00:43:49 classic like uh yeah live live music it's like like one person's like dang that was bad and another person's like i thought that was great that was one of our better ones like no dude like that's i would do that a lot where i'd be like okay that was a interesting set and people would be like i thought it went great like what are you talking about yeah i'm like well i just have different standards or whatever but yeah he came out he's like what do you guys think price c plus b minus i was like no everyone catching on to me with horizontally felt great about it um that's pretty good thanks yeah it was a so dude last night's show was i've never had so in the k show, actually, I talked about how kind of frustrating it was because it was the first time I did crowd work and the guy just gave me nothing to work with.
Starting point is 00:44:30 It was kind of disappointing. Right. And it was so new in a comedy that I don't necessarily know how to deal with that yet. You know, I don't know. Should I move on or should I just like go to a different guy? Yeah. Or is that getting old? You know, so I'm trying to get better and better, but most of the time people play along
Starting point is 00:44:42 and they're great. Last night was the worst I've ever had. So this guy's like, like, what's your name? So he says, Scott, he works in finances. He said he does Roth IRA. I'm like, I have no idea what that means, but Hey, good for you. Whatever. Um, it means that they'll match whatever you invest. Really? Yeah. Thanks. Okay. So yeah. Halfway through my set, I'm like, you know what, let's get back to Scott in the front row. I'm curious, like what is, I'm sorry. That's not what it means. It means that it's taxed at the beginning rather than when you take it out you could have said anything i would have been like great that's awesome it means that
Starting point is 00:45:12 no the aborigines get 10 great good you'll go you'll uh get 10 boy what about my bike so i'm like scott i want to know what does roth what does ira stand for i don't know can you tell me and he's like i have to ask him and i was like pointing to got like three three seats next to him like well why do i need to ask him he's like well that's actually scott and i was like good one what lucas told me afterwards he's like dude i loved the good one he's like oh a well-placed good one is the funniest thing. And so I learned that he was being just a little goofball. Sure.
Starting point is 00:45:51 And his buddy, Scott, is actually the financial advisor. It's like the classic. And his name is Doug. No, Doug did it. Yeah, Doug was the goofball. It's the classic, like, can I get a name for your order? And I'm like, Hattie. And she's like, Dad, that's my name.
Starting point is 00:46:06 LeBron. Whatever. Just somebody else in the thing. It's like, that's not your name. It's somebody else's name. And so I'm trying to play catch up. I mean, live on set. I'm like, so you don't work in finance and your name isn't Scott.
Starting point is 00:46:18 He's like, no. I'm like, OK, Doug. So here's the deal. When you come to a comedy show and you sit in the front row and the comedian's trying to have a nice interaction with you you should know that you're not in an improv scene you don't need to make up material yeah you just you just answer correctly that's all you have to do and as i'm saying this the crowd is like on my side it's like this is great this is fun i'm gonna keep going after this guy um so anyway but he's still like just being so annoying uh
Starting point is 00:46:42 i forget a couple other questions I asked. I'm trying to get anything out of him because like we talked about last week, you're like, Jake, I want to see how long you can go. So I'm like, I'm going to stick with this. I'm going to wait until I get something good, even though it's a little awkward right now. I'm asking more questions. He's being difficult. And I said this thing that I've never really said before, but I was like, it went good
Starting point is 00:47:00 enough that I'm like, this might have to be a common thing. So it's like, I could never be a teacher. How do you guys do this? How do you handle the bad students or whatever? And I was just trying to be funny. But what I did inadvertently was rally the teachers in the room. Cause then they were like, yes, yes. I was like, Oh, okay. This guy gets it. I didn't even mean to do that, but I was like, seriously, I don't know. You know, I got some class clown over here. He thinks he's hilarious. You know, he's disrupting the other students. They can't learn. Right. You know, people are clapping.
Starting point is 00:47:22 And, um, so I'm asking like, what's your key to marriage? Last question. And he says, Oh, he says social distancing. And I was like, that's not like funny or I don't even get first key to marriage. Yeah. I was like, I don't even understand that. Yeah. Just like, don't talk to your wife and like, don't see her and like, don't touch her. And yeah, that's all the right things. I was like, seriously, that's your answer. He's like, no, probably dancing, you know, like, oh, social dancing. Interesting. I'm like, great. great no this is fun this is awesome this is this is easy for me fun for everyone else thanks for playing along um i am curious like how often you guys go dancing it's like pretty often i was like great meanwhile i'm just walking right into this i don't
Starting point is 00:47:58 understand what's happening i'm like what kind of dancing you guys do and he goes horizontally i'm like ah there it is and but then right afterwards, I go, Doug, can you go to that? I'm going to need you to go to the principal's office. And then I like tied it back together. Everyone loved it. So I'm like, OK, that was all improv. But I think in the future, that's got to be my go to thing. OK.
Starting point is 00:48:16 Which is fun to find those things in the moment. Like I got to do the teacher comparison and then bring it back with the principal's office at the end of the exchange. Well, yeah, it's great. It's like on the worst case scenario, I have a great joke for that. Like it's like worst case scenario, this person stinks. Now I know best case scenario still, cause I have, or not worst case, but like worst case scenario stinks, but no worries. Cause I'm going to make these notes. I have a joke prepared now. No problem. Bring it on. Good. Bring it on. Jerk, Doug. Thanks Doug slash Scott. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:42 You gave me something to work with. She'd been like, whatever so you're a liar so you must be a lawyer that'd be funny right man that'd be funny right that'd have been good right my friends who are at the royal oak show still give me a hard time because i i think in the duet i like called back to something from my set that was specific and i feel like it didn't get much of a laugh it's so literally just into the microphone very monotone i just go do you guys remember that from earlier and then the crowd like lost it at that and so they yeah like my friend noah just loved it so much that i just had to say do you guys remember that from earlier that yeah just yeah guys i was making a joke about my set his name he works in on the roofs you remember that you get it i'd very blue as trey's like singing it
Starting point is 00:49:26 just real quick before we move on to the next slide let's make sure i make sure maybe you were laughing because you didn't get it her name is stacy that's why i said her mom yeah stacy's mom from the song bowling for soup ever heard of it you guys would love my talk show you guys listen to my talk show on every monday morning way better than the view aborigines can understand it that's easy for them i had very uh when i said roofing i don't know why for some reason i'm very blue roofing oh this is so funny trey was having katie go through this a couple nights ago and she couldn't do it either i was like thank you katie she's also a bad singer i think there's
Starting point is 00:50:04 something to it but i had very blue color workers in the front row this week it was kind of fun okay uh through ralph garden not quite railroad status like last week but one guy said he lays asphalt for a living oh boy it's like careful i know i didn't i was like easy yeah do you ever kick it as well yeah whose fault was it yeah but i didn't go i didn't do anything like that i asked him like his favorite parking lot and stuff like that asked or you what do you say asked yeah there's a lot i could have done you asked him what his favorite parking lot was yeah yeah that's funny thank you what a random question well i mean truly it's like i don't know like this guy has has like some people love mountains like what's your favorite you know national park hey what's your favorite parking lot well i just figured i was like you
Starting point is 00:50:48 know i was trying to take an interest in his job yeah you know so it's like you do a lot of commercial stuff or you have like a favorite parking lot you've worked on and uh he was like i-75 and then the crowd went nuts i was like it's very pro highway you guys are big interstate people so then i had plenty of that to work with when i when i do my uh my dead dogs kind of joke about growing up on the farm i was like probably because the asphalt wasn't good enough on the highway you know so that worked um and then the next night in atlanta the guy worked in flooring and i was like oh that's awesome have you ever put in heated floors you think you could put some in here you know because that was when we were all freezing to death so that's good good week of shows i had canna cook friends at every single show because we're in the south which is so fun
Starting point is 00:51:28 i think for them and for me too it's you know just to be like man remember like not that long ago when i was doing this for 12 year olds like isn't this so weird right yeah there's something special about canna cook people man i know like it's just it's just that gives me a different energy when i'm around them yeah right like it's like man there's just that gives me a different energy when I'm around them. Yeah. Right. Like, it's like, man, there's just a quality of people. Not that you have to be a kid to cook if you're a quality person, but you know, but I mean, A equals B.
Starting point is 00:51:52 So therefore C. Anyway, good times, good times on the road. I think that's all I need to say. You had a bus for a while. Oh, I love the bus,
Starting point is 00:52:00 dude. The bus is back. I'm just starting to really enjoy the little things and how like I'm really settling into my routine on the road. And I love it, dude. I love it.'m just starting to really enjoy the little things and how like i'm really settling into my routine on the road and i love it dude okay i love it like just like the little joys of like i packed perfectly this week okay that's awesome like i packed enough warm clothes i had different clothes every day plenty of boxers hello this is so great even just the way i had my bunk situated i was just like i was just thankful for that what do you mean just like i took extra um materials from the bus so i could
Starting point is 00:52:27 prop up my pillow in bed and watch man in the arena yes because that was my happy place curling up in that bunk baby watching tom brady and the patriots dude are you on bottom what what what bunk are you uh bottom okay nice is everyone on bottom is there something alan's right above me okay oftentimes his phone slides down into my bunk i don't know what he's doing up there but i just what do you mean slides back up there's like a little gap in between the wall and the bunk where his phone will just drop down into my bunk and then i just reach back up and throw it up on him oh really uh that's fun so yeah just thankful for the little things i'm just like man this is great what's the first thing you do when you get in that bus i mean like usually shiver because they keep it about 66 degrees.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Okay. They're like, well, you know, it's harder for germs to really, you know, okay. That's what, yeah, that's what we did in the old fraternity back in the day, the sleeping dorms. Really? Kind of cold. Yeah. But I don't know about that cold.
Starting point is 00:53:16 I don't know. That's fun. So were you on the bus the whole time? Like, okay. Yeah. I flew in the first city and just bust around and yeah, it was just great. Trey and I didn't really have much to shoot this week week so it was great just getting to sleep in every day and just enjoying time and the warmth and the coziness and good just is good it's fun loving what i get
Starting point is 00:53:32 to do good dude i'm loving it for you man thanks dude we uh we had biblical citizenship class again this week hell and you know that's the class where two weeks ago the guy was like i feel like i know you from somewhere oh i have a story like that too this week. Okay. I forgot about that. And I'm learning now that I think that's just his thing. So it's the third week we're doing it. But the first week where we actually go around and set our names, just because we had a few
Starting point is 00:53:58 minutes before 6.30. So she's like, let's go and just say our names, whatever. So we're going around. I said my name, whatever. And it's about to be this guy's turn. And right before this guy goes, this other couple, you know, we're Emily and Josh, whatever. And they get done. And it's definitely his turn next.
Starting point is 00:54:14 And he just stares at these people. He's like for probably like five seconds. I'm going to I'm going to give you the five seconds. OK, it's like he did. And we are Emily and Josh. This is a reminder. You guys sell selling your house? That's what he did.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Like after, after like, it was like, it was like clearly your turn. And like, it just took him a while. And he just goes, you guys selling your house?
Starting point is 00:54:35 They're like, no, this reminds me of the old lady on the plane next to me. How long are your arms? He just had nowhere. Just like waking me up to ask me. Like he just shot his shot so far. Cause it's like,
Starting point is 00:54:44 he's like, he's like, well, we've been looking at houses and they have the same last name as you so i figured maybe it was your house it's like they're so like i think the last name was like smith or wilson or something a lot of options out there yeah it's like but maybe it's theirs you know it was just it was just like a classic like whatever but then i talked to them afterwards just because i was like i want to get to know some people in this class. And the wife of his who kind of made fun of him whenever she's like, yeah, he doesn't really watch woodworking YouTube videos. So I don't think that's how he knows yet.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Uh, she was like, you do the YouTube jean shorts thing. I was like, I was like, yeah, YouTube jean shorts. Um,
Starting point is 00:55:19 she's like, whenever you introduced yourself, uh, and said your name, I was like, Oh, of course that's who that guy is. Oh, so she read, you got an, of course, that's who that guy is. Oh.
Starting point is 00:55:25 So she recognized me. You got an of course. Of course. I got in the OC. So anyway, kind of a boomerang recognition there. That reminds me. I went to Meadowbrook this week to play some pickleball. Nice.
Starting point is 00:55:36 And I said hi to some people who said hi to me or whatever. And as I'm kind of walking away, I can barely hear them. And he's telling his other friend, he's like, that's the guy I was telling you about who does the blue jeans comedy. That's us. mom blue jeans boys yeah my mom's maiden name is berkster so we have this family like facebook group called berkster family book of face and my mom posted on it uh i think it was the i don't remember which one it was one of the more recent ones like check out brad's latest video uh for with blue jeans comedy and i i my mom is so sharp and so with it but at the same time like i don't think she was messing like
Starting point is 00:56:11 to where normally be like oh mom's being funny but i think she genuinely called it blue jeans comedy blue jeans comedy yeah so it's that conservative dad character yeah maybe people towards his blue jeans blue collar maybe so dude yeah maybe um okay that reminded me i have a story this week where i what do we call it i got i bratted yeah i got bratted you brought it up yeah uh first degree bratted i really really bratted it reshrewed it was shrewded i walked to a coffee shop in i think atlanta or something and gotta close those loops yeah i was trying to link my loops so i was walking and uh as soon as i get in there there's like these two younger girls and as soon as i like walk in the door one of them like hits i see her hit her friend on the arm so i'm like i don't think much of it but i just take note of it i
Starting point is 00:56:57 wait in line when i get to the front friendly abuse around friendly arm pat yeah i get to the front like okay sorry we were freaking out when you came through the door i was like here we go freaking out really i don't know if it's worth freaking out about okay guys hey everyone everyone no need to freak out like these girls all right all right no no keep your mask on sit down sit down um it's like we were freaking out uh when you walked through the work because you look so familiar oh yeah and now that you're up close we're not sure it's exactly you i was like you need me to take my mask off did you say that
Starting point is 00:57:34 they weren't sure like catering to them like hey hey sorry um it just reminds me of the amount of flying i do. You have to do it at TSA. So sorry. I'm just always on the road. I have to pull down the mask. Dude, I almost missed my first flight in forever today. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Wait, wait. Is that the end of the story? No, sorry. I was thinking about TSA. I'll listen to that story at the end. No, that's basically it. I just got sweaty in the airport again. But link the loops.
Starting point is 00:58:04 Why'd you almost miss it? Look how full those loops are, though. I don't even know how to read it. Bottom left. So is it the inner loop? The bullseye goes first? I don't know. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:58:17 What are you laughing at? I don't have an Apple Watch. I don't have an iWatch. Does the bullseye go first? No, I was like, okay, does it have a small loop and then the bigger loop and then the bigger? Yeah, no, it's fair. It's fair. I can understand how you wouldn't know how to read Apple Watch.
Starting point is 00:58:31 Look at this Chinese calendar on my wrist. Yeah, crazy, huh? What do you think? Pretty crazy, huh? Oh, it's getting hot. It always gets so hot in here. What story am I telling you? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:46 Like, you need me to take my mask off? They're like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I take it off like, ah. We thought you were Neil Patrick Harris's husband. Yeah. Did you really look this guy up? What's this guy look like? He's a good looking dude.
Starting point is 00:59:01 I was like, thank you guys. This is awesome. Okay. David Bertka. Is that right? Probably taking Neil's last name-looking dude. I was like, thank you guys. This is awesome. Okay, David Burtka That right probably taking Neal's last name Burka that guy is also Okay, David Burka age any any guesses on his age that guy looks so much older than you 44 I'm guessing in the 50s 46. Okay. Nice. Wow the picture they showed me
Starting point is 00:59:23 I was like, I'm happy to be compared to this No one ever thinks they look like anyone and this is an old person who says it was like val kilmer so val kilmer is is accurate or what's the guy from two and a half men they say you look like him sometimes oh yeah i've got that here and there charlie sheen just kidding yeah the nerdy one shy or something but anyway so yeah i was just new attack neil patrick harris's husband that's pretty funny it's like was like, oh. Out of all, that's a deep cut. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:50 I would not be freaking out, I don't think, if I saw his husband. And normally, if something similar to this interaction, or similar to Neil Patrick Harris coming up, I would have been like, I've actually met him. But the way this was going, I didn't want to be like, hey, I've met him. Oh, how'd you meet him? We were juggling. We were juggling in Central Park. Well, this guy's a loser. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:08 So I didn't mention any of that, but. That's right. I got bratted. Were you supposed to be meeting him or was it like random happenstance? No, it was, it was planned. Okay. He was a, he was a big juggling guy. So when we were in New York for like some whistle sports thing, we just met up with him.
Starting point is 01:00:22 That's fun. I really don't have much else written down here. Oh, I have some F12 update for them. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm pumped about this. Or you go. You sure? Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Sorry. Officially, after F12, we're having a post-game party. A PGP. A PGP. For the talk show. At this lovely local quaint hole in the wall. Yes. We figured if you guys would come to Kansas city, you should see kind of how we do it around here. Yeah. Only
Starting point is 01:00:50 Kansas city. Uh, it's called chicken filet, shike filet. Yep. People pronounce it differently, kind of Samoas versus caramel delight thing. That's right. But no matter what you will enjoy it. Um, so yeah, our friend drew is the one that owns the Chick-fil-A and Lenexa. And so post, uh, F12, we will all be, uh, taking the gallivant of a 10 minute drive to Chick-fil-A Lenexa. Um, and I'm just pumped about it. Yeah. We can jog. You could jog.
Starting point is 01:01:15 You could ride your bikes. Could you, could you get link loops on bikes? I'm sure there's a workout. Yeah. Bike riding. Yeah. Yeah. It's a different kind of loops, you know, um, but anyway, I'm really pumped about it. Yeah. Drew riding. Yeah. Yeah. Different kind of loops, you know, wheels. Um, but anyway,
Starting point is 01:01:25 I'm really pumped about it. Yeah. Drew said yes. And then I was talking to their like events coordinator Haley this week and I'm just pumped about it. I think I was, I was a little bit nervous that we weren't going to find a place. And then it was like, or we were going to find a place that was going to be like, yeah, we can hang out there for like 30 minutes, but it really is going to be like, kind of, we're going to have like, she's like Saturday night. Like there's not very many people that are at the Chick-fil-A anyway. So it is going to be like kind of we're going to have like she's like saturday night like there's not very many people that are at the chick-fil-a anyway so it's going to be basically just you guys and they might stay open later for us they're going to stay open later might have a special menu yeah a little special menu guys aren't going to want to miss it special
Starting point is 01:01:56 guest if you will oh you're probably thinking of strike kennedy i guarantee you it's better um no but it's going to be fun. We got John Chris to come. No, guys, we got John. We got Trevor Wallace. Yeah. Trevor Wallace. I think that's a good comparison to you.
Starting point is 01:02:12 I think you have similar look to Trevor. Big schnoz on him, though. Turn profile. Yeah, you have a nice normal schnoz. It's proportionate. Yeah. It's not like my ears. Disproportionate. I can still hear things still hear things but yeah i have elfish features what do you think they're too small oh they're so small
Starting point is 01:02:31 yeah you're right they are small they are small ears ears are weird dude ears are weird like they just stick out of your head like the rest of your body it's like that's fine but then there's just these two little things i never really thought how strange they are compared to other. Let me show you mine. What do you think? Weird. It's just weird. These are pretty aerodynamic. Like there's not a lot going outward.
Starting point is 01:02:51 That's why I'm so fast. That's why, that's why Catherine and I are going to race. F12 race. Yeah. Like every other mammal's ears, I guess, except for the primates, but they look so, they're so pointy. They're so fun. Ours are kind of ugly looking. They look deformed. I bet there's somebody out there that loves ears probably scott
Starting point is 01:03:08 oh dude that reminds me oh my gosh oh this is perfect it we we have a group chat me isaac luke and scott which is named foot solutions but not for what not for what you think that was the sponsor of the pickleball tournament we played in february last year the solutions open or something like that so pro but of course i'm sure scott probably named it foot guy so um this week as we've talked about last week luke cogan.com got married right um he's on his honeymoon he's in cabo leading up to the wedding all four of us are trying to plan like a golf trip to go down visit luke's family in phoenix cool um the week of luke's wedding we're still trying to plan it but then i think we kind of tailor off as it gets closer to luke's wedding like all right i don't
Starting point is 01:03:59 think he's probably ready to book flights right now whatever not not not in the capacity for that yeah he kind of stops responding rightfully so, right? He's got a lot going on. So nothing happens. Well, let me find the beginning of this. Okay, so where would it have been? Basically, oh yeah, so this is Tuesday of this week. I finally found it. scott just text the
Starting point is 01:04:27 group luke's on his honeymoon so what do you fellas think of the weekend of march 5th and i'm like oh my gosh scott i know you know luke's on his honeymoon like i i'm like i will not i am not going to partake in this i'm not going to say anything i feel like isaac's in the same boat he just sends a one-word answer he just goes great you know i think he's like in and out great works for me uh so i'm like i'm not gonna respond i'm not gonna do anything and then luke uh responds and is like hey guys sorry for missing a bunch of these texts and uh it's like fully into like plan the trip and then isaac one word text again great i'm like still like we do not have to do this after this yeah scott's like so like what dates are you guys thinking like boys go out the
Starting point is 01:05:09 11th maybe girls on the 13th or something i'm like i cannot believe we were talking about this while luke is on his honeymoon i just cannot get over it yeah yeah scott text you got to take a break in the action sometimes i'm just like i do not want to be scotty boy in this group check group text and oh my gosh so that's so it's funny like i didn't respond any longer i was like this i just feel bad i feel wrong right well on my honeymoon i like well first of all it was 2014 so it was a little different like it wasn't as easy to have wi-fi and international cell data and everything we were in mexico but like i I remember like, yeah, intentionally like not being on my phone and stuff, you know,
Starting point is 01:05:48 but looking back on it, it's like, yeah, you could be on your phone during your honeymoon. Like, I don't know, but it's one of those things where like at the time, and maybe I shouldn't say that, but maybe I should say like, that's just me being a little more numb to probably marital stuff or whatever. But like back then it was like the honeymoon. This is like sacred. Yeah. Like this great time. And it should be, it is, but it's like it was like the honeymoon this is like sacred yeah like this great time and it should be it is but it's like yeah but it's not like you still use
Starting point is 01:06:10 your some hollywood experience where you just are like 100 staring into each other's eyes the entire time the rose petals and caviar you still like like they have to go to the bathroom at some point or like they have to take a shower you know if you're a tray and katie's honeymoon you go to the bathroom a lot really oh you not heard about this no oh they like both got sick oh wow they both got food poisoning oh no way yeah oh gosh the honeymoon or like sweet or like bungalow they were in was like open concept no doors oh that's that's something in hollywood like that's just a that's hilarious. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:46 No, I had not heard that. I thought you knew that. Oh man. Open concept. No doors. That is. Bummer. Yikes.
Starting point is 01:06:52 Yeah. Get a door on your honeymoon probably for the bathroom. No, that's funny. That's yeah. Scott said that. Yeah. It's just, it's one of those things where it's like, oh, I think I have an idea of marriage and then you get married and you're like, oh, it's way different than I thought it was
Starting point is 01:07:03 going to be. So there's going to be a million things like that probably for you someday oh you're saying the honeymoon is just one of them we're like you're able to be on your phone yeah yeah i think i think there's expectations expectations of the honeymoon that i'm just saying are not exactly the same yeah so excited to see him nothing about luke so i'm basketball sorry what excited to see luke tomorrow basketball oh my gosh tomorrow basketball monday at basketball yeah i have i uh what i think i was telling what i don't know this has been an episode where i feel like i have six things to say at once every single time like i don't know where to go from here the other luke cogan thing i was gonna say was like i'm like i can't believe we're texting this guy
Starting point is 01:07:36 it was honeymoon we should not be doing this and then i go on instagram at night first thing he's posted since his wedding is ghost runners merch on the porch of like his resort in cavo he's like wedding was great only three words i have to say are and he's wearing our merch is just says vibes vibes vibes yeah yeah so i was like okay i now i don't feel as bad that's what i'm saying like every every personality is different in that like some people are like get the phones away like we have just had all this time i would just like to err on the side of not bothering the guy sure you know absolutely no it's very considerate of you but no yeah i was probably a little too sensitive for that i'm like nope nope we're not talking about no one's booking
Starting point is 01:08:11 any flights i don't even care but i probably could have been more helpful but yeah oh basketball i think i was telling you off the podcast that i want to make a bingo board for the people that are coming for the people who've never seen us all play what'd you say the free space yeah the middle spot because it's a given which is gonna be the free space was? Yeah, the middle spot, because it's a given, which is going to be the free space, is seeing Brad short strides. That's just a given. You're going to see them.
Starting point is 01:08:30 They're going to be on display. Brad's teeny little strides. That's the free space. And that's the thing. I haven't exercised barely at all since like... You want to throw the gogs on? Yeah, maybe. Hit the ceiling a few times?
Starting point is 01:08:41 Doof, doof, doof, doof. So we got that. I said Scott Pe peck or garrett gibson missing a wide open layup i think that's just like their their go-to shot have i told you that was like an inside joke in high school scott it was called the scott peck school of layups oh he's always been like this yeah he's he just he would get to the hoop he would have an wide open shot we have fast break whatever it was and he would just miss it layup slam it off the backboard golly scott like you're not uncoordinated why can't you make you can do this yeah um so other things on the bingo board were isaac and i attempting but failing at uh connecting on an alley-oop that'll for sure happen at least once like we'll definitely try
Starting point is 01:09:18 something out of our realm isaac thinking he broke his back probably is is a decent shot of making it just some kind of like like isaac isaac really hurt himself even though he looks like the most in shape person yes isaac drawing blood from somewhere from his body sure that's gonna happen um yeah i think getting a concussion or giving a concussion i think brad um air balling the first three of the night but then making your next two wet balling it twice wet balling it yeah that's all one bingo space. All those things have to happen. It's a parlay. I got to find the range.
Starting point is 01:09:47 I got to find the range. It's like, okay, that was a little strong, you know, a little strong. Um, I think probably Garrett Gibson and I trying way harder than everyone else on
Starting point is 01:09:57 defense, but having a blast doing it. Yep. Yep. That's on there. Uh, Scott said, uh,
Starting point is 01:10:02 me getting a rebound without jumping was on there, which I was like, yeah, I was like, I was like, that's nice of you to think I'm, uh, me getting a rebound without jumping was on there, which I was like, yeah, I was like, I was like, that's nice of you to think I'm going to get a rebound. First of all, I don't even care about the second part of this.
Starting point is 01:10:10 Yeah. I think at least one frustrated hand clap from Scott for himself. Yeah. Yeah. For himself. Yeah. I think one's frustrated hand clap for me at Scott. I get,
Starting point is 01:10:19 I get more frustrated with Scott playing basketball than anybody else because sometimes Scott will hold the ball for two seconds longer than he needs to. I'm like, pass it, pass the ball. And everybody else, I don't, I don't feel like as critical of, but since I've played ball with Scott forever, I'm like, Scott, you know this. Well, see, I would be willing to be less critical of Scott because like me, Isaac, Luke have like a decent amount of like varsity basketball experience, running motion, running stuff like stuff like that so but i just know like hey keep the ball moving hey you ever seen the spurs yeah you see hoosiers the final play you see the guy wide open the corner give him the ball don't stare at him for two seconds and then think maybe i should give it to him no i'm gonna pass to him
Starting point is 01:10:58 now that the guy's over there okay so scott holding the ball too long for brad's liking that pass it that's a bingo board um what else probably I mean losing in the first half by over 10 and then winning by more than 10 eventually once the kogla.com takes over or Rustin dude so good we have a new uh Peter got assist and can't play I don't know if he wants to say that on the talk show but he got an assist he got he's like hey guys I know I was playing on being point guard but i got an assist of my own um and my tailbone recently so can't make it so we got a guy on our team who's like some nai school's all-time leading scorer yeah so it should be good so i will not be maybe
Starting point is 01:11:37 that's a bingo space is me not taking a shot the entire game i think that's likely to happen because he's also like the nicest guy ever so he'll like want you to shoot that's nice yeah that's nice he also so rustin is his name listener of the pod his wife excuse me listener of what the talk show thank you uh wife huge fan of the talk show the ts um but he is elliot talk show elliot rebrand keep going okay uh went to uh his like university's alumni basketball game and literally didn't have basketball shorts or basketball shoes. He's out there in khakis and Timberlands. No, he had like, he had like running shorts and like, like running shoes and just still
Starting point is 01:12:14 worked everybody. He balled out. And of course all these other basketball players are making fun of him. Like, what are you wearing? Yeah. But he's like, I don't have any basketball. So he had, he's literally having to go buy basketball shoes for this league. That's awesome. Which is great. I like that. He's a, he's so, I don't have any basketball shoes. So he's literally having to go buy basketball shoes for this league. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:12:25 Which is great. I like that. He's so fun. He's such a good dude. Any interaction I've had with him has been really pleasant. Oh, yeah. He's also a tan guy, which I can appreciate. I mean, both of them are tan guys.
Starting point is 01:12:34 They're tan people. Yeah, he is tan. Yeah, I like that. He's a dreamboat, honestly. Yeah, he is. People were very in love with Rustin. Hey, put it on the bingo board. Rustin will be tan.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Rustin will be tan and looking good. Yeah. Oh, i need farrow i think this is the week i get my fantasy football consequence i don't have a show for a while so i think i'm gonna wait until no no no do it before do it before the game before the game yeah no then sweat yeah yeah no i just i've pickleball tomorrow i have um oh wait we just got a text from Derek hold on oh no he just texted me okay Derek dang okay why did you just text me
Starting point is 01:13:09 I guess you were only 30% I was 65% I just got a call from the guy he actually has two tickets two tickets left for $200 each that's $1,100 profit that's all you have to see
Starting point is 01:13:21 I don't know if Gunnar would want to go if it just does two I don't know if I would want to go if it just does two I don't know I'm going to wait I don't know if myner would want to go if it just does too i don't know if i would want to go if it just does too i kind of i don't know i'm gonna wait i don't know if my feelings would be hurt but they definitely would be if you i'm just gonna well anyway um what am i talking about dang that really derailed me so many things basketball resting
Starting point is 01:13:36 tan spray tan oh yeah yeah gotcha i think i'm gonna wait until oh yeah monday night's basketball tuesday night uh volleyball league start indoor volleyball league so i'm thinking if we're done shooting jean shorts content by wednesday and like if i'm not going to be in any more videos or podcast for at least a few days i think we will then wednesday afternoon is when i go dark because zero dark 30 okay tuesdays when are you doing stuff on tuesday i don't know i asked trey the schedule for this week and he said he didn't know yet. Didn't get it back to you yet. I was like, well, I got a spray tan waiting on me. I bet we'll record Tuesday with jean shorts, my guess.
Starting point is 01:14:10 And then we'll be done for the week. It seems like it's been pretty consistent. Let's just get this done. So, we dark old boy. Nothing bordering on inappropriate, but like a dark white guy. Right. I think. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:24 Like Rustin. Yeah, like Rustin yeah like rustin you're gonna be natural be natural people won't know the difference anyway uh i gotta see some fun people uh the shows this week in addition candy cook friends ghosties oh we have gifts i left them upstairs we got slovene chocolate brad oh from gwynn from gwynn that's right from gwynn gwynn's been a a fan for a long time yeah i gotta say a lot of og goes tiani i met her last night she's been listening since 2019 she's gonna be here she was wearing it in it with a jingle shirt nice um gwen was the one who left a voicemail memo a long time ago about slavin we call it like slavin dion it was i just remember the the clip was in the garage when we were recording the garage so it's that long long ago. Yeah. Good memory. Yeah. Uh, we got a gift this week that was,
Starting point is 01:15:05 um, mixed CDs for each of us. That's fun. Yeah. I have a CD player in my truck. Sweet. I'll come listen sometime. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:15:12 Uh, so that's, you think they're different or you think they're the same? I don't know. Test them out. Uh, idea for F12. The pre pre-show music is,
Starting point is 01:15:21 is just all jingle songs that we've done. Sweet. We need to put our jingle songs, but like, Oh, just maybe I'd rather not. No, that's a great call. Like a playlist of like songs that we've connected on jingles too. Yeah. That's fun. Um, let's put a bookmark.
Starting point is 01:15:35 Let's come back to F12. Cause we still need to talk about that more. Cause we got it caught up with the Chick-fil-A thing. It's going to be so fun. Yeah. Oh yeah. We went from Chick-fil-A to Trevor Wallace, to big nose, to big ears, to mammals have weird ears. Who knows for him? Yeah. Oh, yeah. We went from Chick-fil-A to Trevor Wallace to Big Nose to Big Ears to Mammals Have Weird Ears to who knows where.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Yeah. Justin, editor Justin, got to come to the show. He's already been to the Minneapolis one. He's like, hey, he just moved to Alabama. He's got a new job now. Oh, no way. And so he was like, I'm only a few hours away. It's OK if I bring some friends.
Starting point is 01:16:02 I'm like, yeah, I hooked him up with tickets. I guess last second, his friends bailed. Justin made the trip solo i love it i know for to see a show he's already seen yeah it drove like four and a half five hours round trip to see a show he's already seen but also he's a tricky part he drove from alabama to chattanooga uh-oh time difference so he's like i went from being like 45 minutes early to then like borderline running late like he's struggling to get there on time. Yeah. But it was really good to see him. Uh, I was given so many, uh, of those Christmas cookies with the Hershey's kiss in the middle
Starting point is 01:16:31 of it. And so gave Justin a batch for the ride home. Like, I'm not going to eat 45 cookies tonight. Justin's like, I'm not eating those things either. You're right. Just got thrown away. Keep them out. Throw them out for the deer.
Starting point is 01:16:40 Cookies were great. Uh, and then also this is cool. You're going to appreciate this. So in our Jean Schwartz video, we were doing that uh giveaway kind of um thing ghosty um bo amaya yeah finishing the top five it's fun to see her name but um one of the there's like a 12 year old boy comes up to me after the show and it's like hey uh so i'm a big fan i watched the gene shorts videos and you actually said my name in a video this morning i was like no way i was like yeah we just posted we filmed that yesterday no his name was gabe and i was like gabe curtis he's like yes he's like how do you remember that i was like i don't know
Starting point is 01:17:15 i don't know where that just came from i was like i was the one who said your name in the video so that's why it's still in my head but yeah i remembered his last name he was in like a jersey it was awesome that's awesome so yeah i got to see him the day that he was mentioned in our gene shorts videos for him getting the most subscribers big gabe gabe that's fun dude mr gabe that was a fun we've had some good videos lately dude it was so cool seeing all the comments for your grandpa video yeah because as predicted it didn't do super well right but people who watched it loved it yeah i mean the amount of positive comments i'm like this is so funny. Brad found his character. This is hilarious.
Starting point is 01:17:46 It was like, and so many people gave us lines for like a part two. Yes. Everything was perfect, but you forgot this. Like, Oh, that is true.
Starting point is 01:17:51 We did forget that. Yeah. You, what, what did they say? Yeah. I can't remember you have now, but one of them was like,
Starting point is 01:17:55 Oh, of course. Yeah. They had some good ones that we did forget. Um, anyway. Yeah. That was fun.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Yeah. I just feel like we've done really well in our videos. Like, like, yeah, it didn't, it was like seven or six out of 10, I think when I checked on it, but like the ones before it were all like really well performing videos. So it wasn't like, it was
Starting point is 01:18:11 like, Oh, this one did terrible. It was just like, we've just been doing well on jeans. I noticed that too this morning. Cause I think our eight or nine out of 10 video right now is like the passive aggressive Christmas, which ended up getting a hundred thousand views. Yeah. And at the time it was like, this is doing really well. Yeah. So it was just the first of me. The ceiling is just raising and raising. The ceiling is the roof. Do you hear that? Jordan? Yeah. Yeah. And we're finally monetizing on Facebook. So that's fun. Just things are coming together. 1.1 million views on the woke parents. You're welcome everybody. Dang. You're welcome for all the money. The day we get Facebook monetization, we have a million views. Yeah. That is crazy. I mean,
Starting point is 01:18:43 at the time we had like 13,000 Facebook followers. We post that video. Yeah. And it just organically gets them. I think organically, it got like 600,000 views and then Trey and then Trey shared it and it got another half million. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:54 That's just like unheard of. It's crazy on Facebook these days. I'm not trying to like, you know, butter my own biscuit. Cause I don't think I did that. Great. I think we all just like wrote good jokes.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Yeah. Rachel Maddow was by far the best joke right my dad was like i had no idea what that joke was good for you steve yeah it is good probably yeah um i was like i didn't know either uh brad and derrick grabbing it or yeah was it you guys yeah because trey was like i don't know who that is like you almost we almost didn't do it i was like i think it'd be funny the rachel haircut i saw you put in the caption of the oh yeah i did tiktok version um i don't know if there's gonna be a weekly thing but i'm back with another version of brad gets to do a jingle so why don't i get to do a spoken word of a jingle but basically it's
Starting point is 01:19:34 just me making fun of a song that's driving me nuts i think that's a great part two great this one was a song i heard this morning i just just put on Spotify top hits in my headphones while I'm playing a little Woodoku on the airplane. What is that? Yeah, I don't know why I just. Woodoku is an example of me getting suckered into one of the trivia crack ads and be like, this actually looks kind of fun. I had that happen to me kind of recently.
Starting point is 01:20:02 I was like, that sounds like a fun game. I was like, this is stupid. Yeah, that's usually the case. Are you a Wordle guy? I haven't got down me kind of recently. I was like, that sounds like a fun game. I downloaded it. I was like, this is stupid. Yeah, that's usually the case. Are you a Wordle guy? I haven't got down on Wordle yet. I sure don't. I am currently eight for nine. I had a streak of six and I missed one.
Starting point is 01:20:14 So anyway. It's like you're telling me about your loops. I don't even know what that means. It's just like, yeah, every single day you try to guess this word. And then you get the bullseye. Yeah, and if you get it right, that's why I had six days six days in a row where i got the word right six loops and then day seven what was the word uh i don't remember there it was forgetfulness was the word yeah yeah it was idiot m uh oh yeah so i heard this song uh turns out imagine dragons cranked out some new stuff
Starting point is 01:20:45 new yeah okay new stuff to imagine new dragons i don't know which part of it but i'm listening to the song they regret their name i bet they do i think they're like i wish we would have named ourselves like the the tom tom tom tom taylor band yeah i want you to imagine dragons like that's just not a cool name um it helped out for our amish james bit i think i said imagine wagons yeah so that's nice but i'm i'm mid wudoku but also kind of you know i can't help but pay attention to the lyrics of the song and the chorus is like everybody wants to be my enemy and my enemy look look look everyone's be my enemy and i'm like well you have a lot of people who really enjoy you and by the end of the song i
Starting point is 01:21:31 think you're kind of turning me into an enemy a little bit it's driving me nuts okay so i'm already like this song i can't believe this is like the 10th most popular song on spotify right now but then uh-oh let's stop imagining dragons let's imagine hip hop. We got a rap verse two thirds of the way into this song called Enemy. I don't know who. Unless you're Run DMC, Aerosmith, Jay-Z or Linkin Park. Don't do that. That is perfect. 100% agree.
Starting point is 01:21:55 Right? It's just not necessary. The rapper is JID. Don't know if it's a man or a woman. The sound sounded like it could have been either. But JID is the rapper. I'm'm gonna read you their lyrics uh look okay i'm staying where nobody's supposed to be posted being a wreck of emotions ready to go whenever just let me know the it sounds like the guy who's just like hanging out at the party like on the wall just let me know. It's so casual.
Starting point is 01:22:26 He's just hanging out at the party, like, on the wall. Ready to go to Everest? Let me know. I'm saying where no one's supposed to be. He's in the coat closet. I'm just saying where no one's supposed to be. It's coat and season. Yeah, it's coat and season. Shields. Women's small.
Starting point is 01:22:40 I don't know. It's coat and season. I can leave one out. So then he continues to say at the party from the coat closet, the road's long. So put the pedal into the floor. Okay. Not quite on it. It would be scary if you got into the floor because. How are you going to get it back out?
Starting point is 01:22:59 Yeah. It's like, it's like, I can't break anymore. Pedals in the floor. Yeah. The enemy on my trail. My energy unavailable. Now you're probably wondering, does this rhyme? Good question.
Starting point is 01:23:11 I don't know if we've heard a rhyme scheme yet. Post to be and emotions didn't rhyme much. Floor and unavailable didn't really do it for me. I'ma tell them hasta luego. That does not rhyme either. I'll be the rhyme, please. I know they want to plot on my trot to the top. That rhymed.
Starting point is 01:23:27 There we go. It's a slant rhyme. Yeah. Seuss would have loved it. I've been out of shape thinking out the box. Doesn't rhyme. I'm an astronaut. No.
Starting point is 01:23:37 That's all one line. Box, not? Slant rhyme. Slant rhyme, slant rhyme. But just the lyrics themselves. I've been out of shape thinking out the box. I'm an astronaut. I'm an astronaut. Right, right, right, right, right. But just the lyrics themselves. I've been out of shape thinking out the box. I'm an astronaut. I'm an astronaut.
Starting point is 01:23:46 Right, right, right, right, right. No, totally, totally. This guy's writing this like, imagine dragons is going to love this. And imagine, I mean, outer space, out of the box. Yeah. The Ted Taylor band would never, would never allow this. Yeah. All of a sudden, the guy in the coat closet is starting to be a little weird.
Starting point is 01:23:59 Like, okay, I'm sorry. Now the coat closet thing makes sense. Yeah, he's been there the whole time. Like, I reserved judgment when you were in the coat closet, but now it's like, you're weird on the coat closet thing makes sense. He's been there the whole time. I reserved judgment when you were in the coat closet, but now it's like you're weird on the coat closet. Once you started saying Spanish, you said hasta luego in the middle of it. That kind of turned me on.
Starting point is 01:24:13 I'm only about a quarter of the way through. Really? Halfway. I blasted off the planet rock to cause catastrophe. So let's think about what rhymes with catastrophe. Blast, catast. And it matters more because I had it not. That's the end of the next line.
Starting point is 01:24:30 Well, the not was astronaut. Got it. Yeah. A, B, C, B, perhaps. Had I thought about wrecking havoc on an opposition. Wrecking or wreaking? Wreaking. I was gonna say. Is it wrecking?
Starting point is 01:24:46 You would say wreaking. How do you spell it? W-R-E-A-K. Oh, yeah. Wreaking havoc. You know, that makes sense. I don't know why that felt wrong to me. Kind of shocking they wanted static with precision.
Starting point is 01:24:58 I'm automatic. Isn't that shocking? This guy is so deep that I don't understand it. What is he talking about? I mean, imagine mean imagine like this is like the biggest opportunity in your life the imagine dragons have said like hey we'll pay you for a verse imagine dragons just like playing their acoustic guitar like this guy's got it kind of shocking that they wanted static with precision i'm automatic that's your line that's
Starting point is 01:25:17 this is your shot here we go this is where i start to really catch my attention quarterback oh i ain't talking about sacking okay pack it up pack it up i don't panic okay so why in the world do you talk about the quarterback like was it batter batter up who the baddest oh it don't matter because we at your throat who's we in diverse was it was always him and then all of a sudden he's got a crowd what rhymed in there the last few words were automatic, sacking, panic, baddest, throat. Here's my theory. Is that rap music in 2022 is so bad that they probably had 15 different rappers like, hey, write a verse for this. And they chose the worst one out of all of them.
Starting point is 01:26:01 Because that's what sells these days. Like, give me a break like what does that even mean any of that it's like let's just let's just figure out all this like random crap and just throw it in there quarterback ain't talking second pack it up pack it up i don't panic batter up batter up batter up batter up who's the baddest who's the baddest it don't matter because we hit your throat it don't matter who's the baddest did it flow it doesn't matter who's the baddest yeah we hit your throat that's weird that's just weird that did it flow i remember not liking the flow of it let me just youtube it for a little bit um enemy imagine
Starting point is 01:26:38 probably gonna hear a little ad. Just kidding. Ad blocker pro. Let me find that. I'm clicking. I'm clicking. It's like I'm showing the phone. Exactly. Merch is out, guys. New merch.
Starting point is 01:26:59 Check it out. All right. Here we go i didn't hate that i didn't hate that you just just write some stuff down and then just say it as fast as you can say it as fast as you possibly can just trust me it'll go great we will figure out the melody the metronome the. We will figure it out later. Just say it truly as fast as you can right now. That truly... Pack it up, pack it up, I ain't packing up that bad.
Starting point is 01:27:29 We have two throat. I love them, but that truly sounded like something Gunnar would listen to, and I hate all the music Gunnar listens to. You know what? I'm going to the Chiefs game with Gunnar now. We're going to listen to Imagine Dragons on the way there. He'd be like, this is good, man. This has got some good flow.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Gunnar, sorry if that's one of your favorite songs but whatever dude let's do some you had more stories no it's good let's do some voice memos okay yeah i mean we do these things called voice memos like it's a talk show it's a throwback to something we will probably keep doing every week um i have not listed this one david walsh i haven't seen this yeah right i haven't seen this something glitched in the system and so tim has sent us like nine voice memos i think it's the same one they're all 58 seconds long that happens sometimes with like twice it gets sent i've never seen this so i feel like i we owe it to tim to listen to one of these all right timmy timbo what's up jake and brad it's Tim calling from Boise Idaho I just go to school here at Boise State I just go to school I'm really
Starting point is 01:28:30 from San Diego Jake it was great seeing you at the show in Boise it was great meeting you I was a little star struck but I got through it I love the podcast and I actually have a ton of family in missouri
Starting point is 01:28:47 so sorry i'm never driving that way i'll make sure to stop by kansas city and hope to see you guys story about the house in missouri so my question for you is would you rather have a house on the beach a house on the lake or a house on the river. Now I grew up in San Diego, so I have to go with the lake house to change it up. No, that's all the time I got. And if y'all are ever back in Boise, you should come to a football game on the blue turf, AKA the Smurf turf.
Starting point is 01:29:18 Keep up the great work guys. That's fun. Thanks Timbo. Here's a, here's a fact. The blue turf of the Boise state football stadium would be more fun than a lake. That's, that's, that's fun thanks timbo uh here's a here's a fact the blue turf of the boise state football stadium would be more fun than a lake that's that's that's my fact uh no way would i ever choose lake over beach i did not see river coming either that was quite the dark horse there yeah i
Starting point is 01:29:39 mean i whenever you said beach i was like okay beach or mountains yeah yeah like classic lake or mountains um okay beach mountain or creek bed you gotta choose honest yeah or swamp be honest i don't know you only get to choose one i okay unless we're like really gonna dive into this question the answer for me is absolutely beach even from just like a financial you know perspective that is going to be worth way more like if you don't live there airbnb and out sell it i don't know that's what i was thinking financially yeah it's way more expensive i'm sure yeah and so like you could save a lot of money if you had a lake house or but if that's the case then i won't get either and i'll just rent one a couple weeks a year that i'm going
Starting point is 01:30:21 there just having a house on the missouri river river we got a waterfront property it's just like yeah people do that people people like texas and stuff have like river like riverfront property but it's like but around here it's like yeah like the missouri river is like the industrial area of town it's like and like your last resort to transport things if the railroad system isn't working. You know, let's get on a steamboat, get on out to Columbia. No, that's really funny. Really? Last night I was calling my dad because we're trying to make my dad takes me a few days ago.
Starting point is 01:30:55 He's like, hey, your mom and I might go to Hawaii this summer. What island should we go to? I said, Kauai. Well, a few days later I call him and like, you think about actually going to Hawaii? He's like, yeah, I think we might do it. I was like, well, we think about this. I want to plan like a fun trip this summer. How would you feel going back to Utah, hitting up a few national parks?
Starting point is 01:31:12 And he even made the comment. He's like, well, it's going to be a little tough convincing your mom to say, hey, what do you think? Instead of Hawaii, we go see a river. That's literally what he said. And now this is Tim's options too. Yeah, exactly. Beach or river. Yeah, it's literally what he said and now this is tim's options too yeah exactly beach or
Starting point is 01:31:25 river yeah it's only what my dad said he's like i don't know how i'm gonna tell your mom instead of kawaii where we go see some rocks there's gonna be some ghosties out there that uh are gonna have an opinion that they'd like the river but you haven't seen the chattahoochee have you ever floated you ever flowed the river it's like no i have but i mean i have yeah i haven't lived on it permanently i can imagine it smells like sunscreen yeah the only reason I would choose lake or river over beach is because I live in Kansas right now but like but like in this hypothetical world if that I could have any of the three I would absolutely choose beach like yeah it's easy you know it would be a good beach
Starting point is 01:31:58 and it wouldn't be Galveston it would be a good beach yeah it like, yeah, some, some beach in the Northeast where it's like cold. They don't really even have sand there. It wouldn't be like, you know, whatever. Rehoboth beach. I don't need that. Not that I'm in the realm of considering this, but maybe we talked about on a talk show before. There's some reason. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:20 Because I think definitely just rent or like going with another family. I think the idea of like having an entire house that you don't live at or whatever like yeah we have a lake house i would just be so stressed about this thing somewhere else yeah it's like it's like did it did a pipe burst we don't know about it yeah i'd rather just airbnb it yeah just and find a place that you like and just no matter what yeah in aletha no i'd take the beach house okay i take the beach house take the beach well have you ever seen that thing it's like top it was like a some article that came out was like top 10 beaches in the or yeah i think it was top 10 like beach cities in the world and for whatever reason i don't even know it was probably just a troll job but it was like olathe kansas was on there
Starting point is 01:32:59 i don't get it i don't get it either it was a weird thing there's a there's a lake olathe and it has a beach on it but that was the only joke that I could think of with it. Good one. Yeah, it really, yeah, it really was like, Oh yeah, nice. So, Oh, Hey Tim, that was a fun question though. Oh wait. And you should tell a story about what happened to you this morning. Oh yeah. Yeah. My house. So I was, I was at a kid's birthday party earlier today. And yeah, my friend Mark was there. He was like, Mark's in college right now. He's playing basketball. And he's like, dude, I, he, he's playing basketball in Olathe and was going to Iowa for a game. And he's like, dude, I drove past Jake triplets, a childhood house on my way to Iowa. And first of all, just like,
Starting point is 01:33:43 what, what are you talking about and he's like he's like yeah yeah yeah like i was like well it's not really off like the highway like it's not in iowa yeah and i was like and you were going to iowa and he lives in missouri like he's like no no no like we went through missouri to get to iowa and i was like well yeah probably like kansas city missouri but in my head it was just so like classic. This guy has never seen my childhood. How does he know? Where's the confidence come from? I have, yeah, I could have asked lots more questions, but the non-confrontational side of me was just like, Oh, maybe that's crazy. I was like, wow. Yeah, maybe. I don't know. I don't, I don't know. That's crazy. I didn't know what to say. was like no you did it so anyway if anybody else thinks
Starting point is 01:34:26 they let's how about let me know people send us pictures of jake's house that you drive by this week just if you have an idea like i'm pretty sure that's probably jake's house yeah we'll put some on our instagram story okay this next one is from rachel retz i'm clicking on it because i like the sound of her name. Okay. I haven't seen this. Hey, Jake and Brad. Hope you all are having a great start to 2022. I'm looking forward to coming to F12.
Starting point is 01:34:54 Since I'm traveling alone from out of town, I would love if there would be a way for ghosties to connect beforehand so we can make some plans to maybe grab dinner or do some exploring around the area. And was wondering if you all might be willing to start a thread on Instagram or Patreon
Starting point is 01:35:11 so that the ghosties can make some plans together. Fun, fun, fun, fun. Anyway, thanks for continuing to put on the pod. I love that on a Saturday in February, I'm going to go hang out with a bunch of strangers and we all just have this really random thing in common, but I'm looking forward to making some new friends and having a good time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:33 Yes. Rachel, have a good one. Bye. Bye. Come on. R squared. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:35:39 Rochelle. Uh, that's great. That was a good one to click on randomly. What is the best way to do this? I don't know. I was about to ask you the exact same question. Honestly,
Starting point is 01:35:49 what do you think? I was going to say Reddit. I was going to say Facebook group. Just make a Facebook group called F12. Everyone has Facebook. Okay. Yeah. Same,
Starting point is 01:35:58 same idea. It's just, I think that's way easier than Instagram would be too messy. It's too messy. Yeah. Reddit might be a little. It's too messy. Yeah. Uh, Reddit might be a little bit too inaccessible. I know that sounds silly because it's like,
Starting point is 01:36:08 just look, go to reddit.com and look up ghost runs. You would find it. But like some people just aren't familiar with Reddit and they might not have a username or whatever. I feel like the majority of people, 95% of people have a Facebook. So that's great.
Starting point is 01:36:20 We'll call it ghost runners, a group ghost runners. I have 12. Yeah. We'll put in the link of this yeah video or and yeah episode spotify apple youtube there'll be a link below it says ghost runners facebook group great fun i still i still think about it a lot about making a bucket list for people to do oh yeah yeah or even just yeah a bucket list or a loose itinerary two of things that are happening that we
Starting point is 01:36:46 were going to, that Brad and I are going to be at two different things. But yeah, yeah. Two different things. Like, I think I might go ahead and just book into our pickleball courts. I think we should.
Starting point is 01:36:54 I just don't know. How many do you think I should book? I was saying like three for two hours. I think that's fine. I think more. No. Okay. I think that's fine.
Starting point is 01:37:01 Cause I think even if people aren't playing, they can just hang out. I need to chat. Yeah. Okay. I'll do that um you can see if four is like they have a package deal for four versus three whatever yeah you're smart enough to do that but I uh that's one of those things like Catherine and I all like have conversations like that and I'm like that's enough I I gave my I gave my very little opinion talked enough about it I trust you just do it like like last night she's like, what do we,
Starting point is 01:37:26 like we were ordering pizza. It's like, okay, we're going to get half cheese for Hattie. Like, what do you think you want? I was like, we have pretty similar tastes to just what or whatever you want. And then like an hour later, she called me again. She's like, okay, I'm about to order the pizza. Like, did you figure out, like, do you know? I was like, I don't, whatever. I promise. I'm all out of pizza talk. She's like, no, do we not like the onions last time? I was like, I like, I liked everything just fine. So just whatever you think sounds good just do it you know not trying to be like rude to her but also like just more being like i trust you and i don't care and i really will be okay with whatever you know i like the food no matter what so anyway yeah i feel like i got that way
Starting point is 01:38:00 once i kind of got in leadership positions at canna cook yeah i mean like now do you want me to cut you think a banana costume are you thinking like the squirrel costume we have like honestly just any i don't that's a good that's a good life lesson for people to hear though is like it's like like it's and that's not saying like you can't ask like logistical things like like do you want this you know like whatever i don't know time wise or a special location or something but like if someone gives you a vision and they keep it open-ended, that means that they trust you to like carry out the vision and like have your own opinions on it and just go for it. Right. And you're also in a position to maybe surpass expectations. I didn't give them much
Starting point is 01:38:37 to work with. Exactly what they did. A hundred percent. They didn't ask me a single question about it. Oh, I can still remember. We did like a nursery rhymes and crimes, uh, party. And one of the nursery rhymes was like the three blind mice or something like that or no it was yeah we did that one too but it was the um the three little pigs and we had like this collapsible house that like whatever and i just remember like michael sloan my friend like we gave him this like somewhat crappy vision honestly like we didn't really have we didn't think it was that good of a station and he made it like this amazingly fun, like hilarious. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:05 That's so great. And then you're like, so proud of them. Yeah. You're like, man, I'm glad I entrusted him to do this. He's great. We should give him more responsibility. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:13 Rather than like, let me give you the exact thing I want. And you feel worried about like doing anything different than what I'm asking. It's like, let me let you think outside the box and like, like use your creativity. So thanks to Rachel Ratz for that. Rachel Ratz. Do we have anything more about F12 that we should talk about on the pod? I have something to talk about. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 01:39:34 Sorry, I'm breaking up. Um, I don't think so. Okay, cool. The only thing is if you are going, please get your tickets as soon as possible because there's a, there's a chance we're going to hit capacity pretty soon. What are ticket sales out right now? Uh, two 50. That's so hot, which is what we, which is what we planned for at the venue. And I emailed the guy, I was like, Hey, can we bump it up to 300? Cause we have friends and family and stuff that are probably going to come that aren't
Starting point is 01:39:57 on the list or whatever. And he's like, I don't know about 300. I might be kind of tight, but I've been to the venue. I was like, no, we want want it kind of tight but i don't want it to be like yeah whatever fire code says you can't or whatever so get your tickets now give me on the phone with the fire marshal i got a few questions not even about our event but just in general okay what do you do and a you know monday at 10 a.m he's literally always always just shifting around a room one person at a time. He's the average size person. He's, he's not a big guy, not a small guy. He's five 11, one 65. Yes. Let's hope that's not average. Maybe it is anyway. I don't know. But yeah, he's just moving all around. Like, is that a nine to five job? The fire Marshall? He's just the Marshall of fire. Garrett Gibson's
Starting point is 01:40:39 dad's a fire guy. So we'll ask him fire guy. Yeah hey garrett have douglas come to f12 douglas yeah that's a fire guy's name fire guy yeah uh garrett texted me yesterday that um when we mentioned peyton's name on the podcast a couple weeks ago yeah we talked about how garrett has her name on her phone is p nasty he was like i haven't seen her light up like that since our wedding day she might have been more excited than our wedding day that's awesome so here you go again peyton let's hang out peyton 249 right now on signed up on eventbrite.com douglas would make it 250 those make it 250 jake and brad make it 252 katherine makes it 253 once so on and once the fire marshal comes i want him to i want to meet him makes it 254 no i've been inside that
Starting point is 01:41:23 room and it's like, it seems big enough. Sizable. I mean, take whatever you're doing every month or every, every night and divide it by six and imagine that in a room. Fun. I mean, that's how you can figure it out. Cause you know, you're doing 1800, 1800, but fun. All right.
Starting point is 01:41:39 Cool. Thank you for the voice memos. I've already been recording for a little bit. So let's move on to our reviews of the week. You go i think i'm gonna do a youtube comment of the week this week that's fun um let's see mine is gonna be uh from a guy whose username is undefeated in october just like the royals until they lost to the Giants. Just like the Madison Bumgarner. Hey, break it,
Starting point is 01:42:08 Chad. It's Tony. What? Want to let you know, no, I found Michelle. What? I was in Galveston at the beach and looked down and there she was lying in the sand.
Starting point is 01:42:17 Michelle. Oh, I get it. That's really funny. Um, wait, I don't get it. You'll get it.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Cool. I found Michelle. Michelle. Got it. shell got it seashell seashells by michelle i gave her wave but she was not a wake beach wave too wow this guy's cool right over jake's head stared at my shell and thought golly gee she looks on conch chisley purdy conch shell you guys purdy I was like dang it I keep missing one it's a type of sand that got me good it took me to the sand
Starting point is 01:42:53 like really fine yeah I asked her if she got my calls on her shell phone but she didn't say nothing and I said I'm sorry I didn't hold on am I missing she didn't say nothing I said I'm sorry I didn't hold on am i missing she didn't say nothing i said i'm sorry i didn't beat you beach i didn't beat you was that was it supposed to mean though i can't reach you i didn't i didn't
Starting point is 01:43:16 beat you i'm your boy tony i'm not anemone it's becoming a little bit of a stretch five dollar jokes left and right hey i'm not just any me she jumped up i'm everyone's enemy look look look i'm everyone's astronaut astronaut tap tap on the batter a batter up come at your throat she jumped up and gave me a sloppy smooch not unforeseenseen. Yeah. And we book a flight to Timbuktu. I told her, thanks for the trip. Let's do it again. Because what the apostrophe capital E-L-L is fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:00 My name, Ellis. Yeah. Got it. That's it? That's it. That's it. Tony found Michelle. Good job, person who wrote that. My YouTube comment of the week is coming from Daniel.
Starting point is 01:44:14 It's B-A-A-R-N-S. So it's Barnes. Daniel Barnes. We've been going through all the... Nazi books with Hattie? No, all the animal noises with Bo. was close and it is priceless he i bet he likes the deep ones like cow goes no he loves lion he'll just go yeah it's good and and the horse is like
Starting point is 01:44:39 have you taught him about locust yet no i feel like if hattie's getting to learn about nazis he should be able to learn about some animals that aren't so great and what's the locust say you want me to do that what is it flag plague famine can you say famine yeah you probably could he's that good all right daniel barnes says love you guys in the jean shorts comedy blue jeans sorry okay i'm gonna start again daniel barnes says love you guys in the jean shorts comedy love this content that's clean and so good i started my channel because i found most college students and young adults struggle to develop character and consume content that helps them focus on what matters most in life and i'm becoming a
Starting point is 01:45:22 solution to that problem huh i think that's really cool so check out daniel byrne's yeah um knock the barn stores off yeah that's right they call it the i don't know come on blue jeans the barnyard dance it's also it's also a dance podcast sure yeah i think it's loops yeah whatever i think it's cool and i think it's probably right. Most students in young adults struggle to develop character and consume content that helps them focus on what matters most in life. So, um, and this is going to sound like a Michael Scott quote,
Starting point is 01:45:52 but it's not anyone doing anything at all is always fun. Yeah. I know that sounds dumb, but I'm like just seeing that someone else is doing their own thing. It's like, that's awesome. That's great. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:03 You know, I called Alex Jim check and we got to catch up yesterday and just hearing how many things he had going on. I's like, that's awesome. That's great. Yeah. You know, I called Alex Jemchak and we got to catch up yesterday. And just hearing how many things he had going on. I was like, I- It's motivating. It's inspiring when you talk to somebody like that. Yeah. 100% it is. Yeah, I, yeah, it really is.
Starting point is 01:46:13 So just any, you can quote me on that. Doing anything, anywhere. Ever. At all. It's one of my favorite things. And it's so motivating. That's awesome. So thank you for at

But Ross, Ross Ferans, I'll tell you right now, Ross, I'm working on yours. Yours is very good. And I want to make sure I do it justice. Ross, he's a cool guy.
Starting point is 01:50:19 He's he's a tall guy. Both of them are very tall guys. Anyway, but thank you guys for all sending in the jingles. I never, I never discount how much work people put into those.
