Starting point is 00:00:00 Jake, I Googled zany fun facts this week. Good. We're getting wild. Let's keep starting episodes this way. Number one, salt makes pineapple taste even sweeter. How? I like the way you deliver the zany fun facts. Number two, humans don't sneeze while sleeping?
Starting point is 00:00:17 Are we sure? Oh, really? I always wake up every time I sneeze. Don't question it. Which comes first? Okay, yeah, keep going. Popsicles were invented by accident by an 11-year-old. No way.
Starting point is 00:00:28 That's zany. This one's fun. This one is zany. This one is truly, like, look up the word zany in the dictionary. You would find cow's moo in regional accents on there. No. That is zany. That, my brother, is zany.
Starting point is 00:00:44 That's pretty funny, actually. I'm imagining like you're going down. You got an upstate New York cow, you know, going on vacation down south. He's passing through, you know, middle of nowhere, Louisiana. And all of a sudden you just hear the cow just going, Milk! Hey, I'm moving here. Hey, hey!
Starting point is 00:01:04 Hey! I'm milking here Hey I'm milking here I'm milking it on your feet because it's the ghost from this podcast. Every morning and morning we're taking care of the ghost from this podcast. Go for a podcast. Wow. We did it. That was a very organic start. I mean, literally with the word milk, but still like neither of us knew where that was going.
Starting point is 00:01:42 That was so fun. I think we just put an adjective in front of fun facts for a few more weeks and see what happens. Yeah. Cause you Googled fun fact, zany fun facts, zany. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Next week. Come on. Brightside.me slash wonder dash curiosity slash 25 dash zany dash facts that dash can open whatever like that. You'll figure it out. I would say, yeah. Give us a YouTube comment.
Starting point is 00:02:01 What adjective you'd like to see us Google for the cold open next week. Yeah. And we'll choose one of them. Yeah. If you're listening to this right now, give us a, um, give us a YouTube comment. What adjective you'd like to see us Google for the cold open next week. I like it. Yeah. And we'll choose one of them. Yeah. If you're listening to this right now, give us a, um, give us a YouTube comment. Wait, who should have to comment? If you're listening to this right now. Oh, if we want to try to anybody who's listening.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Oh, is it you? Were you one of the people listening? Yeah. Sorry. You have to seem like there were a lot of face touchers last week. We got a lot of them. A lot of people who listen to our podcast is doing their morning routine, which I like or like skincare routine. Oh yeah. Who knew that was like such a thing i think
Starting point is 00:02:27 that's is that becoming more of a buzz a buzzword skincare routine oh i thought you meant like podcasting while doing skincare routines no like like like just the the skincare routine like the new like uh punchline thing samuelson just comment on patreon shout out samuelson thanks for the patreon comment yeah well you really smacked that baby you have to to like reset to go back to home it needs to feel skin oh you should see the way some girls slap this thing yeah dude it needs to feel skin so you just smash all your foreheads i don't know just trust me just trust me you're like oh okay yeah yeah i need to go in a few minutes but oh that no i'll i'll ignore that. No problem. So anyway, do you say that? I literally do it. And Rachel, cause I was like, cause I've
Starting point is 00:03:09 tried to have the Apple watch for like a few weeks or whatever. So Rachel was like, what, like how, if your hands are full and you want to like kind of put your iPhone back or your watch back to sleep, what do you do? I was like, I go forehead. And she was like, I don't think I care about putting my watch back to sleep. Like who cares? Oh, that would'm with you yeah save a little battery it doesn't need to be on 100 my dad my dad we spent a lot of time my parents this week and my dad like it never goes to sleep on his phone unless he presses it and i'm watching his phone like you know he's got the classic like dad armchair he's got the phone right there just on full brightness i'm like oh boy a couple problems here yeah need to be on auto brightness. Auto brightness works great. I think he probably somehow is not, or I don't know. It comes back
Starting point is 00:03:48 and forth. Like sometimes it's just all of a sudden crazy bright. Yeah. So yeah. Yeah. That would bug me. Yeah. So yeah, I go for it. Hands are full. Just right there. That's so funny. Yeah. Well in like during, like when I'm doing woodworking or something in the winter time and I have gloves on or something, I'm a big nose, nose. Oh yeah. I can, I can text with everyone. I can definitely unlock. I can, you know, play stuff on my phone with it. I mean, I'm right there with it just all, all around. Huh? I don't know. I should have done that like while skiing or something. I never thought about that. I always like take off my gloves. Well, even the gloves that are like, you know, fingerprint, you don't have very much
Starting point is 00:04:19 dexterity. No, they're terrible. Yeah, no. So yeah, no, you'd be surprised how well, how accurate you'd be with your nose. That's a fun, that's a fun thing. Yeah. I often, I'll try to just get the Siri button on there and then I can just voice text it. Yeah. Oh yeah. I'm so money with this. So anyway, uh, that's fun. That's fun. Okay. So if you're listening to our podcast, you have to comment on the adjective. Thanks. Yeah. Thanks guys. Skincare routine. Oh yeah. That's what we were talking about. Skincare. Yeah. I don't, I don't know. I mean, Catherine's never like used that exact phrase, but I feel like that's like the, the punchline these days of like, Hey, what do you skincare routine? Whatever. I don't know. As a punchline. Yeah. Like, I think it's like a thing that we do in our videos
Starting point is 00:04:57 sometimes, or like other people say stuff about their skincare routine on videos. Yeah. You're right. I would classify it as a buzzword. Punchline is maybe not the right thing, but like, that's like a common phrase that people are using in jokes they're not just saying wash my face they're not saying right you know like like they want it's a whole regime it's not just like one action it's a step-by-step regime yeah yeah it's a strategy revelry that's a good word yeah i learned that on the um youtube comments this week it means to wake up oh yeah cool yeah look it up guys yeah 150 uh what are you what'd you do this week what do you have dude this week was like the best week yeah i'm not gonna lie basketball i watched so
Starting point is 00:05:39 much basketball and i didn't feel one iota bad about it like i watched i watched almost like parts of almost every single game this week i think like really i like so thursday i went over to scott's house and let me just say right off the bat hopefully yeah katherine is feeling better no she's terrible no um so yeah so we we let me preface this all yeah first of all yes she's feeling better she's still not like a tip-top percent, but like we stayed at my parents' house because our hardwood floors are going in. Fun. Good time. Catherine loved like when you were like, why do you guys do this to yourself? She thought
Starting point is 00:06:14 that was so funny. It is so true. But everything went well. Everything's going great with it. So is it done? Yeah, it's done. Good. So, but we've been staying at my parents house for like since thursday night so this is our first night back tonight cool um so and it was awesome because my parents are so servant-hearted anyway and so like and and my mom like you know how like most adults have like i don't know it depends on 401k 401k um you know license plate life insurance yeah renewed tags
Starting point is 00:06:44 no like you know how like there's there's certain Yeah. Renewed tags. No, like, you know, like there there's, there's certain buffers with this, but like, like kids can always do something longer than adult wants to do it. Right. Like, like you can, like, you can do the high five thing with the kid and they think it's so funny. And you're like, I think this kid could do this for three hours in a row. And I'm tired after 30 seconds. I've played fetch with a child before. And I think he could outlast a dog. Yes. Like sometimes you get them in the right game mode.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Sure. Oh yeah, absolutely. And so my mom has the, I say amazing capacity to like play with my, like with Hattie and Bo, like, like she can just play with them.
Starting point is 00:07:16 And I'm in my head. I'm like, you're surely you don't want to do this. You're kind of on the end. Like I do it for five minutes and I'm like, let's do something else. Like, I'll keep, I'll keep playing with you,
Starting point is 00:07:23 but I want to do something. Like my mom will just do whatever Hattie wants to do for so long. So like my mom is so servant hearted with Hattie. And so gave Catherine a lot of time away, which allowed big daddy to watch a lot of basketball. Um, so shout out to my parents. Dude, that's a great week. Yeah. It was, it was amazing. Now that that's like, I got to rethink where I live a little bit. That sounds awesome. Yes. I got to live closer to my parents. A hundred percent. Yeah. They got to move up here. It's very nice to have the support. I just not thought about this. Oh yeah. It's wonderful. I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:53 could I use your parents? Honestly, probably we live close. I mean, yeah, their, their kids are going to be old enough. Their grandkids are gonna be old enough at that point, you know, potentially I don't know how many more I'm going to have neither but i'll let you i'll share with you cool share time yeah share some toys but yeah it was it was great being with my parents like obviously i love my kids more than you do i mean i love my kids more than anybody hopefully sure but i think my it's so fun to be with my parents because my parents love them so much too you know and so like everything that they like my kids do my parents are so amazed with my parents think is so funny my parents love them so much too you know and so like everything that they like my kids do my parents are so amazed with my parents think is so funny my parents think it's so cute so it's like
Starting point is 00:08:28 it's nice to be able to share that with someone exactly like obviously like you can think oh hattie's cute like isaac isaac connects with my kids so well like he thinks they're great but it's like you don't think they're great like you don't love them like anyone in my immediate family would love them like you would not be wanting to hang out with them for two hours like you know you're done you know whereas my parents are like so into it. I didn't feel one like ounce of guilt being there for like four and a half days with them. You know, that's a nice like mental break, probably like normal life, especially because like for the longest time we were literally all four of us in the house together. Like we weren't even like, like getting breaks to go to church,
Starting point is 00:09:02 you know, and like give our kids away to somebody for two hours you went march 2020 it was all over it really was it was like this must have been what everyone was like during quarantine you know like um so anyway it was it was awesome though i went to watch basketball scott thursday we had a great time were you the only one who went up there uh-huh okay nice that was wonderful it was great and it also reminded me like how terrible corporate america is i'm sorry for everyone out there oh yeah because scott you know scott works from home but he has that patreon post was so funny yeah alongside hattie's bracket like also i'd just like to point out i'm on i'm hearing scott say some you know some interesting words dude so yeah so we had multiple different calls with people
Starting point is 00:09:38 and maybe it's just like this clarity that i have because i'm not in corporate america anymore but the first like i walked in he was on a call with somebody and you could tell that he was, he was disagreeing, disagreeing with this girl. Like they were very clearly like not in the same page. This girl, like Scott was kind of bargaining a little bit for this price on this thing. And this girl was kind of, you know, and she was like, well, I mean, if that's the index you use and that's the index you use. And I don't, and Scott's like, yeah, you know, like they were going back and forth. And I was like, Scott, I truly think, I know you're trying to be like all corporate and like professional and stuff, but I think if you're just like really real with this girl and like, just be like,
Starting point is 00:10:11 yeah, I can't change the price. I'm sorry. So if you don't want to do this, then whatever, like, like, I think that that would be more refreshing than like this dance around that corporate people do. It just killed me. Some of the things that like he had to watch like a webinar of this guy fun. And it was like, it was like every single thing that you aren't supposed to do in a presentation this guy was doing. Like, first of all, his, his, his like graphic was like, so, so, uh, like complicated. And it's like, there's no way you can follow this flow chart. Gotcha. Like pixelated flow chart. And then he had this acrostic for Forrest Gump.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Dude, I forgot about acrostics much less about 90s movies yeah it was like it was like so the issues with this market uh you can just remember by remembering forest gump that's so many letters so many letters like at cerner we were taught like no more than 10 words on us like on a slide ever like like always just keep it really minimal um because it's really hard to read and listen at the same time and anyway it was it was just so hard to listen to some of this stuff and then scott you know after like talking to me i was like dude you just gotta like liven it up a little bit so scott had a conference call and you know it's like classic zoom where they're like waiting on
Starting point is 00:11:18 two people to get on two people are already on and scott's like so uh you guys you guys basketball fans you know and one like and of course it's like three seconds of silence so it's like Scott's like so uh you guys you guys basketball fans you know and one like and of course it's like three seconds of silence so it's like it's like no not really and then like because it's like the guy probably had to unmute or something there's another guy yeah I'm not really a big fan either. I haven't really followed it this year. And Scott, you know, Scott's like, Oh man, this is like my favorite day of the year. This is awesome. Yeah. I just haven't really followed it this year. It was just like the most classic, like, just like, like, why not just give this guy some
Starting point is 00:12:06 conversation guys, something, take it somewhere. Okay. You're not a basketball, but go somewhere else with it. Like, like, even if you're just like, I'm not a basketball fan because I'm a Missouri guy, you know? And it's like, yeah, Mizzou has been struggling this year, whatever. Like you can at least joke around about that or something like, like it was just like, these people did not want to engage in conversation at all and it was just like it was reminding me of like oh that's tough man that's tough so we have any basketball fans because scott like i think i told you this the other day off the podcast like scott is the most um joyful person i know and he like maybe not i ever but like he has kept his joy throughout like you know adulthood you
Starting point is 00:12:46 know like like a lot of times corporate america really steals people's joy and it's like people out there just like they don't want to have a conference call conversation about anything that's a great point scott 45 minutes ago scott sent me a 25 second voice memo about the portion he got at panda express i don't even think we have like an inside joke about like he was just pumped about it he was just fired up he was like dude the way she scooped those she scooped those tongs dude i don't know if there's enough styrofoam to hold how much panda express she just gave me like i could see him be like i waited when i got home i waited i got out my skill i waited he was so excited about the amount of panda express he was served yeah dude and it was fun we bantered back and forth really quickly about portions so scott yeah
Starting point is 00:13:31 scott was really into uh south dakota state he was like very confident i guess a lot of the like people were saying they were going to upset who they play illinois i think okay um no i don't know who sounds right but um he thought they were going to upset them. And who was it? It was number four seed. I'm going to try to find it. Maybe it was Providence. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:51 You keep talking to me. You keep talking. But he heard that they had a lot of seniors on the team. And they were the Jackrabbits. He kept calling them the J-Rabs. J-Rabs. I was like, come on, J-Rabs. So that was pretty great.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Like a few times he was on his conference call he'd mute it he'd be like j-raps come on like i love the name j-raps i don't know why that was so funny to me but j-raps great really thought the j-raps were gonna go far you know i think he had a j-raps in his sweet 16 and so he was really upset when he like he was like dude i really thought like the j-raps were gonna win so anyway we we had a ton of fun j-raps is hilarious yeah had he's been into it like i i posted on the patreon her her bracket and then some of the reasonings for like some of the things she picked those are so great wolverines yes the wolverines because wool keeps people warm which i guess if you're if you're keeping people warm that means you're gonna win games you're gonna win the basketball game uh she my favorite one was that she was so confident in the St.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Mary's Gales because she had a teacher named Gail and her Awana class. And she's like, the Gales are going to win. Like I know the Gail, like it was like, it came down to like Baylor and the Gales. And she's like, she like looked over at Catherine.
Starting point is 00:14:59 She's like, mom, I'm sorry. I know you probably really like Baylor bears, but I have to go with the Gales. So she was bummed about the Gales being out, but I mean, it's, it's been so fun and yeah, Bo has been so fun, dude. Like I can't tell you the, the three 60 that has come one 80, one 80, not three 60, one 80 in our life. Like as far as like how hard it was a couple of weeks
Starting point is 00:15:22 ago in our family, like not, I know there's way harder things and way harder circumstances, but in our family it was really hard. And it was like, like I had the thought, like all these doubts of like, I, we're, we're parenting Bo so wrong because he is acting so poorly right now. Like maybe it's a, it's a nurture thing. Like I was like, I was like, maybe we've been like, I know we've definitely been easier on him than Hattie, but I think we've still been disciplined and still like, you know, like made sure we like make him obey us and stuff. And he was just being so like, I know we've definitely been easier on him than Hattie, but I think we've still been disciplined and still like, you know, like made sure we like make him obey us and stuff. And he was just being so like, he would scream all the time and he was having all these issues. Turns out he was just sick. And then he like was teething and all this stuff. But I mean, this week he's
Starting point is 00:15:55 been like the best thing ever, dude. Like, like so fun. And I mean, just like so into basketball, he'll literally like run into a room with a basketball and just throw it at you and go, basketball! Or, you know, there's the whole like thing that KU does. They go, Rock Chalk J-Hawk KU, Rock Chalk J-Hawk KU, Rock Chalk J-Hawk KU. And you'll hear a bro just go, Rock Chalk J-Hawk, Rock Chalk J-Hawk KU! And they'll throw you the ball. And it's like, this is the best. That's fun.
Starting point is 00:16:21 This is March. This is March. Anyway, it's just been a great week of watching basketball you know every night it seems like the games just get down to the wire last night there were two back-to-back they're really fun unfortunately j-rabs not involved j-rabs were not involved baylor bears you know almost had a great comeback not involved sorry katherine but but yeah my dad and i we would like they would they would make a three pointer type of game. We just look at each other like, Oh, it was just fun hanging out with my dad. And so, uh, anyway, yeah, just a fun week of family time. Uh, Hattie's birthday was today, which was great.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Uh, we just got to celebrate her. Sorry, you're here. No, the only thing, only option we had, but honestly, sorry to Catherine because it was a late night and then she had to go home with these sugared up kids, you know, that she put into bed and had, or had, he was starting to cry on the way out. And I was like, I literally was like, we, cause we were at my parents' house, which is five minutes from you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And I was like, Catherine, I know you can be totally high maintenance here if you want to. I will. And we had two different cars. So I was like, I will drive back home, help you put the kids to bed with you and then drive all the way back here. If you want me to. And she's like, no, that would be stupid stupid so we got her ready for bed and everything and then
Starting point is 00:17:28 katherine ellis thank you yeah you're out here 30 minutes sooner yeah no more than that yeah i think yeah probably an hour plus so uh is sometimes a longish car ride like that good to like settle kids down uh it's it's very 50 50 i think really because sometimes i'll fall asleep sometimes yeah you just play something like play some music but other times if they if they like pass a certain point it's like no return it's like yeah it's it's rough 50 50 50 50 i watched that movie the other day yeah we watched the like first third of it in phoenix and it's war dogs if you haven't seen it yeah that line is so funny where he's like um he has no 50 50s yeah he's like so the context hey put that in here there oh justin oh call them the wrong name what are you trey on stage in new jersey oh man sorry justin
Starting point is 00:18:19 hey seriously is this safe driving to Baghdad? Yes, very safe. 50-50. 50-50 what? Like 50% we live, 50% we die? Yes. That's why we drive through night. It's much safer.
Starting point is 00:18:41 How much safer? 50-50. Bro, what the... Obviously he doesn't know what 50 50 means all right now i don't have to explain it because you just had it explained yeah but yeah that line's so funny he's like obviously he doesn't know what 50 50 means yeah the other night uh my dad you know we got done watching the game like 11 o'clock and i was like i want to have a little snack so i'm gonna stay up and eat my snack and i'll just watch the first like 15 minutes of war dogs eat my snack i had some i had a bowl of cereal it was wonderful because we never have cereal at my house but my
Starting point is 00:19:09 parents house oh yeah oh yeah yeah yeah uh watch like the first 15 minutes of war i watched the whole thing big snack yeah dude war dogs is great it's wonderful i really i think the language for all the under 17ers sure yeah a Yeah. A bit of war violence. We'll talk about it. It's so good. I think I learned a lot about love from war dogs, from war dogs, specifically Miles Teller's relationship with whatever that girl's name is. His like fiance in the movie zoe or something
Starting point is 00:19:45 leah it's three letters i feel like i feel like it's one syllable yeah yeah like z or ray go ahead either way just so supportive oh yeah so supportive you know through his lies through his truths i was gonna say sort of is is yeah yes yeah she's a cutie sure yeah if you're into you know if you're an exactly like catherine that's why i liked it so much because it was like i was watching catherine on tv yep dude i felt that way when i went to uh what is uh one more god please get what is that movie hacksaw ridge hacksaw ridge the the main like female lead in that movie uh desmond dos's wife looked like uh my friend gabby from k west oh really it made me like the movie more because i was like this feels it they look so similar that it feels like my friend is succeeding oh really even though she's not an actress writing me it's like wow look at
Starting point is 00:20:37 her go that's it was fun yeah it's a good experience um no gibson's in that movie which one no i don't think so i just looked up hacksaw ridge cast and there's no name like no character name under his so maybe he was a director or something sorry uh how was your week jakey you went to you went to florida and back i went to florida and back and uh what else did i do what happened dude it's been so long since we've recorded but let's go baby let's go you got it yes yes let's go baby come on baby philadelphia covered everyone covered baby so how much is it 200 another 200 hey oh my gosh you seen her tonight i'm on one man i'm ready to go wherever man i watched 21 earlier
Starting point is 00:21:27 watch rounders and then we'll go to the casino that's great oh isaac just learned uh what parlays are yeah embedding and he's a little into it so yeah forget about my week let me tell you about isaac's week he was like with some uh some of his peers some other college students this past week and it was kind of interesting learning from isaac he was like call it like sports betting is just running rampant in college students like it's so popular right now everyone's got bookies and it's really fun and so he did some sports betting and well it started with like a couple rounds of golf he made like 25 off his friend's like golf and that guy's a bookie so he's like you know what don't pay me just put it on this game tonight turns out into some a little more money and then he learns parlays which is basically like these five different things are
Starting point is 00:22:15 somewhat likely to happen if they all happen then you get paid you know who knows just the odds of it happening you know 12 to 1 odds but if any of them don't happen then you don't get you lose it all it's all or nothing so it's like way bigger earnings if they win but yeah yeah less likely obviously yeah and i think this now makes three nights in a row where isaac has hit on a parlay which is just such beginner's luck like i mean this is just the start of maybe some terrible habits like all of a sudden you're gonna hear like yeah i put 500 down on a part i can't lose i can't lose oh it's so funny yeah i mean he made he bet 20 bucks last night and made 200 off of five different march madness games and tonight he said it got so bad in branson he was betting on uh nhl hockey games like women's basketball but he's like he won everything so he's just on a roll
Starting point is 00:23:05 right now but like you don't know anything about those things that's what's so scary like there's no way you know anything about nhl and well i mean that's the thing about betting anyway i mean the reason they have spreads is because that's right in the middle of what should happen so it's like just pick a side yeah um well the spreads can change based on who bets and how much they bet right like vegas tries to like hedge that. Even it out a little bit. Yeah. So like if everyone's betting on the chiefs plus seven, they're like,
Starting point is 00:23:28 okay, I guess that was a little too lenient. Yeah. Um, okay. Change as time goes on. Okay. This will be a kind of a fun story.
Starting point is 00:23:34 So earlier tonight, uh, me, Isaac and Harrison, uh, took out roommate Luke, uh, for his birthday,
Starting point is 00:23:40 went out to dinner and, uh, yeah, let's introduce them to Luke real fast. Tell him, Hey guys, more about Luke. We live with Luke. Yeah yeah and uh i didn't know him real well isaac was kind of the connection uh previously luke had lived in the k-life house where i lived and met isaac through
Starting point is 00:23:56 there when isaac was still in high school and same room you guys talked about it i talked about it and talk about where you charge your phone which outlet outlet. Oh, that's a good outlet. Yeah. How's that? How's that sink? That's still spurting to the right? Spurting. Spurting. Yeah. Anyway, so he's our fourth roommate. Still looking for a fifth.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Anybody knows anybody? Okay. Would love to have that rent covered. So let me know. The old appraisal came back. Yeah. Whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:22 The appraisal is getting more expensive, which is not a good thing. And I'm trying to think of the order for Vince that happened. The old appraisal came back. Yeah, whatever. And yeah, the appraisal is getting more expensive, which is not a good thing. And I'm trying to think of the order for Vince that happened. So right off the bat, I think I could objectively say, did Isaac give you a hint of it? We have one of these stranger, I would say just rudest waitresses I've had in a very long time. Yeah, I heard it wasn't great. Just like very short, very like just seemed like she didn't want to be there, which I get. They go through a lot. Just like very just like very short very like just seemed like she didn't want to be there which i get they go through a lot just like very just like what do you guys want um okay i'll take a water and this and she just like walks away like all right we're gonna order appetizers but guess we'll get those later you know and then really so just like very rude and very quick and harrison
Starting point is 00:24:59 even said we were all in such good moods and harrison was trying to kind of like you know get to know her a little bit and she just having none of it Harrison makes some comment like you seem like a like a woman who doesn't like to waste a lot of time and she's like well I got bleep to do okay and I was like that seems like a synonym for not wanting to waste a lot of time yeah okay okay looking forward to those mac and cheese bites okay so Isaac I mean this is already not a good waitress experience, but Isaac is deep into the gambling game. We're at the sports bar. So he's like, I really want her to turn on.
Starting point is 00:25:30 None of these TVs have the NBA games on that I bet on. I need to figure out a way to get the games on. Like, dude, don't ask her. She is. She also doesn't look like someone who is going to care about sports. Okay. You know? Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:42 And she was more of a skater girl than uh she was a skater girl yeah yeah and so of course isaac asked for anybody he's like hey i'm sorry is there any way on this tv we could get the lakers cavaliers game it's like the nicest most passive way of asking yeah there's no you probably can't i'm you guys don't have remotes here i don't think it's just kind of set that way yeah you just put it on leave or set right Right. Like sometimes it gets to C-SPAN. You're just like, ah, that's how it goes sometimes. Like whatever.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Just hope it goes back someday for March Madness. Dude, DJ Travis, it always drives him nuts in the tour bus. The TV will be on. And it's always on the most random channel that no one's watching. And he's like, does no one care about changing the channel in here?
Starting point is 00:26:18 Like, it's always like one night we were on like this Jewish, like TV station. And we were learning about like the Gaza strip. And he was just like, what are we watching? And we're like, oh, I strip. And he was just like, what are we watching? And we're like, Oh,
Starting point is 00:26:25 I don't know. He's like, and none of you guys want to change the channel. Like, no, it was fine. And it just drives him nuts. I kind of get it.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Yeah. Every time he comes in, it's like, we're never watching the TV, but it's on, is it on volume? Uh, sometimes like if it's volume,
Starting point is 00:26:37 I would, I would turn it off. Like I'm always turning the extra noise. Bothers me a lot. Dude. Me too. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:42 And anyway, so she's like, sure. My channel's on. And I was just he's like hold on he's looking up on his phone he can't find on his phone it's kind of awkward he's like i can't find it whatever um around that same time um i get a notification oh by the way it's been pouring down right in kansas it's gonna rain for the next five days here yeah i get notification on my phone and it says your rear uh driver's side window has been left open which is where isaac was sitting somehow you rolled the window down while leaving it's so i'm like gosh dang it so in the midst of all this i
Starting point is 00:27:16 leave the game does get turned on it's like oh my gosh she did it thank you so much i leave i mean my car is soaked i can roll up the window i come back in i sit down like dude the game's on he goes well i'm not even betting on this game so he's like i'm an idiot and to top it off i'm in shorts for the whole thing i'm soaked in shorts because i have to be yeah yeah yeah yeah go go cyclones baby and all this happened yeah Yeah, Isaac's like, dude, I have zero money on this game. It was so funny. But he doesn't dare say, I like you, Trajan. Yeah, he can't ask again.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Oh, that's great. It's so funny because, yeah, like he's winning all this money, but he's such a terrible gambler. Like tonight he bet on the 76ers. And then he's like, dude, I've been watching this game like 10 minutes. I've not seen Joel Embiid or James Harden. I'm like, dude, they're not playing that. He's like, what? He's in his sweatshirt, like on the sideline.
Starting point is 00:28:07 He's like, I thought that was weird that neither of them were out there. Seemed like a crazy spread, you know? I had to take it. That's funny, dude. So yeah, fun night. Let's talk about the consequences real quick. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:18 That was fun. It was fun. I feel like the right amount hit, probably what I expected. And none of the big ones. We were real close to dog naming rights. which i kind of didn't want that one rachel rachel really didn't want me to have that one oh really she's like that's a big deal that's a big deal and i was like okay that's fair that's funny i mean i didn't think i i was confident i mean obviously you could have
Starting point is 00:28:39 asked me if you were like i don't know is this okay i'm trying baxter and brutus what do you think yeah is it a great dane yeah brutus would be great yeah it's a pomeranian dude dude that reminds me the uh did you watch the millennials getting pregnant video i haven't watched it yet oh dude it was so fun so uh brad and trey shot a video when i was in florida last week first brand deal first brand deal. First brand deal. Yeah. Yeah, which is so fun. And I think we have another one coming down the pipeline as well. If you're a brand and you want to advertise through jean shorts,
Starting point is 00:29:10 I'm going to pitch it real quick. Pitch, pitch, pitch, pitch. If you want to advertise your jean shorts, please let us know. I think as far as it goes, like as far as engagement for a video goes, we have very, very good engagement. And, you know, for how many subscribers we have.
Starting point is 00:29:24 And I uh we are relatively cheap compared to most other like compared to trey we're like the discount version of trey yeah but you still get trey so it's like hey advertise with us it's okay and you're kind of getting on the ground floor like yes we have a hundred thousand subscribers but i mean there's a good chance we get up to a million someday like all these videos are only gonna get more popular so that's so and so it's like yeah get, get in now. Yeah. Whatever. I just think if you're a brand out there and you think you even somewhat assimilate with our kind of demographic, those are big words for just, if you think that you fit with us, please talk to us
Starting point is 00:29:57 because yeah, we have a blanket company. Yeah. Everybody uses blankets. And it's like a blanket company, like custom for babies and you know, that kind of demographic it wasn't that big of a company either it's not like this is like a i think they're doing pretty well though but yeah it's not like a yeah it's not like a nationwide crazy they're not in target or anything not that i know of yeah uh but anyway so i wasn't there yeah you know i helped to write the video a little bit but i kind of forgot we wrote that video so long ago that i forgot what was going to be in it yeah and so watching it today was so fun like truly not knowing what was coming and i laughed out loud several times as we were doing it i was like this is a good video even if it weren't a brand deal really yeah i think this is kind of a funny video what really
Starting point is 00:30:35 killed me which you guys will see it you and trey talking are like the baby came out and she looks just like the 3d sonogram she looks just like it brad sonogram. She looks just like it. Brad, make the face. And you just smack your own cheeks and just shove them back. If you've ever seen a 3D sonogram, that's what it looks like. Oh, it's horrid. It's creepy. Like what in the world? How'd they get Smeagol or Gollum or one of those Lord of the Rings guys we haven't seen before, you know, on my screen right now.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And you have to act like it's this like beautiful, precious thing. Oh my gosh, yeah. Like that. Oh, that's my baby yeah that clip was like two or three minutes into the video i was like that needs to be right at the beginning that is so funny yeah that got me really good and then you and trey bantering about lavender or lavender like i know lavender was purple or whatever like whatever you said it was just so funny like we named our boy lavender that's how ridiculous and then you got him a green blanket yeah the whole idea was when millennials get pregnant or something
Starting point is 00:31:28 along those how over the top they are yeah so yeah it was fun we it's always it's always a little bit awkward you know when trey's my wife on a video or sure yeah like whatever but that's good i'm glad you liked it i haven't watched it yet so yeah it was good i think we're just having to tighten up a few things but it it was great. I think they got probably a good, good value for their money. Yeah, exactly. So if you're out there,
Starting point is 00:31:49 if you're a brand, let us know. Cause Trey's yeah. Been doing this for a while. He's pretty good at integrating brands into videos by now. Yeah, exactly. So that's fun.

Starting point is 00:34:24 Consequences. Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah yeah so dog naming rights and yeah so i the one that i really wanted to hit for you was the falling in the pool yeah i thought that would have been fun but we got take a charge yes or offensive foul yeah offensive foul would be a fun like thing to update on every week i saw yeah i saw andrew shooty uh go see at church the other day he's like you ready to take that charge i need to meet this guy that's so awesome so i was like yeah man you ready to take that charge and i watched so much basketball this week and i i tried to take notes because i'm like how do they not hit their head every time yeah how are they supporting themselves i don't i yeah because when i'm falling naturally it's just gonna whiplash
Starting point is 00:35:04 back so that's not good. You know? So have you noticed actually a little bit of a tangent, these basketball players have like this bump on the back of their backs? I've not noticed this. Okay. I think I've done a little bit of research, but very little. No, I've done a little bit of observation. I have not looked it up yet because I kind of want to be in the dark and have my own theories about it. But I think it's Nike schools specifically have this like little bump on the back. Like a charge taking bump?
Starting point is 00:35:28 I think maybe it is like a concussion prevention thing or something. It's just like on the brain stem almost? Like it looks, yeah, it looks like, I don't even know. It's like a flak jacket for taking a charge. Like you remember like a top that, not a top, but like you remember those things you could like kind of invert and put on the, yes, and they were like, you know whatever oh just once just once just once i was thinking like that's that's it oh i didn't describe it very well okay that's yeah exactly
Starting point is 00:35:52 okay it's like that but maybe this big like oh big big yeah i think so cool anyway and it it protrudes out but it's like underneath the jersey it looks like a like a yarmulke that fell down that's exactly right thank you right yeah i haven't seen it so i'm just guessing yeah kind of i mean it's not as big as a yam but i would say it's close and i mean it's just like this weird thing three quarters yam and no one else has ever described anything about it um but i didn't know if you noticed next time i think it's specifically nike schools that do it okay thing to note i'll be looking out for it i really didn't watch much basketball um so yeah maybe i'll get a chance to just because we were you know we were in florida we was watching like at dinner but it's like it's kind of just on or whatever and obviously
Starting point is 00:36:33 rachel's family they're all from iowa so we watched like yeah iowa state and did they did they also watch the iowa game uh we was that during the day i don't know okay yeah we didn't watch the iowa game because they were like darlings like they might everyone thought yeah you know and they did not um okay i do have an irrational opinion about irrationally strong opinion about the march madness is that the ball that they're using i don't like the ball why not uh it looks too orange too orange yes yes dude it's just like a thing i don't think so okay i just noticed it i don't like like so i had i was watching conference championships the week before and the sec was playing with this orange ball and i was like i don't like that ball what's wrong with just a nice brown spald i know i was like
Starting point is 00:37:15 they need to change the pantone of that ball it's too it's too bright that pantone is too bright and then all of a sudden like the first four games or whatever on tuesday wednesday they were using that ball and i was like they better not be not be using that ball the whole time they better turn the luminescence down on that please yeah and then every once in a while like with the right backdrop the ball looked okay you know but then i was like i don't like this ball it's an orange ball it's very orange it looks too bouncy obviously i know i'm watching it i think so i think there's something about there's something about it's like you don't play as well with this orange ball it looks weird i'm bothered it's a bouncy looking ball oh look very bouncy ball. Derek just sent us the new video.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Okay. Hey, thanks, Justin. Thanks a lot, Justin, on that video, please. Orange ball. Yeah, I really don't like the orange ball, so I'm glad that you noticed it as well. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Like I texted my friends. I was like, by the way, don't like this orange ball. And then after Kentucky lost, I was like, rumor has it that Calipari is, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:02 contesting or protesting this game because of the orange ball. Like too orange, you know, whatever. All all these different things or that's what i said like iowa lost because quote unquote we've never seen something that flashy in our lives we're from iowa like all these different things like the ball's too orange that's great that's funny uh but yeah to recap the consequences uh our our morning snacks both hit yes so i have to bring brand ice latte let's bringing donuts and milk we'll coordinate when that's going to happen great uh i have to wear shorts until the end of
Starting point is 00:38:29 march madness yes um which is a hard thing to remember to do by the way i heard that you didn't wear them on the golf course yeah yeah i was like scott's like i don't know i don't need to be a tattletale but i didn't see any of jake's calves today on the golf course and um warm today it's kind of a hard thing to remember to do yeah you, you got to pack up. You got to pack up. I know. But I'll keep wearing them. Yeah. And then the 12 seed for me hit.
Starting point is 00:38:50 So, yeah, you have to take a charge just once in our next basketball session. Yep. And then anything else? UT Chattanooga almost beat Illinois, which would have meant you would have to cook everyone dinner. Yeah. Rachel's fired up. They were close about that one. I think maybe that's it. Yeah. That's all I can remember. You almost had to renew everyone dinner yeah rachel's fired up they were close about that one um i think maybe that's it yeah that's all i can remember you knew your tags um yeah which mentally i was
Starting point is 00:39:11 prepared to do that i might do it tomorrow anyway yeah well it's funny on here my notes were that jake renews tags miami over usc which happened but then i think while we were recording i also we just decided it was miami over usc and dav over. Oh my gosh. So thanks for that parlay. Yeah, really. So anyway, it was, it was fun. So do you want to do another one? We kind of talked a little bit. Oh yeah. Let's just do it real quick. Um, my proposal for this one is we have to pick, we have to correctly pick three of the four final four teams. Okay. And if, if we, cause there's 16 teams left, so it's going to be hard as of right now. Yeah. Uh, three of the four final four teams okay and if if we because there's 16 teams left so it's gonna be hard as of right now yeah uh three of the four final four teams and if we do then the other team or the other person
Starting point is 00:39:51 has to do blank so okay gotcha first and foremost let's figure out the final four um so let's see right now sweet 16 let's just go gonzaga, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, Purdue, St. Peter's, Miami, Iowa State, Kansas, Providence, Villanova, Michigan, Houston, Arizona. Okay. What do you think? I am going to go. Will you choose yours in your head first? I'm too competitive.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I don't want you to hedge your bet with me. Do you want me to go first i you know way more about basketball let me let me then i let me let me think about him real quick because i'm not gonna put a ton of thought on this dude actually while you're thinking let me just say i filled out two brackets this year uh on accident one to be like a part i figured we'd do like a ghosty thing so i filled it out on espn and then it was like hey this is on ncaa so like ah i gotta fill out another one one bracket i have kentucky, who lost in the first round. And then the other bracket, I have Auburn winning, who lost in the second round. So I'm in good shape.
Starting point is 00:40:50 This is fun. Catherine put three SEC teams in her final four. They're all out already. Good, good, good, good. Yeah. She's feeling your pain. OK, you go ahead or I can go ahead. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:40:59 OK, I'm going to choose Villanova. OK. Texas Tech. We writeanova. Okay. Texas Tech. Let me write these down. Okay. UCLA and Kansas. Wow. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:13 Go for some upsets. I don't know. That's fun. I'm going to choose Texas Tech, Kansas, Arizona, and Purdue. Purdue. And then Purdue probably. Okay, I think my consequence, I'm going to flip it on you. If I get three out of four right,
Starting point is 00:41:32 you have to cook dinner for me, Rachel, and Catherine. Fun. I just want that night to happen. That just sounds like a fun night. Yeah, just time together. Okay, Brad cooks dinner. Okay. Oh gosh, I need to think of something here. Um, all right. If you lose this, then, then, then, then, um,
Starting point is 00:42:01 let's go ahead and do that. Let's go ahead and say, if you lose this, just because I want to, uh, incorporate the four of us hanging out we all go to dinner together and the entire time you have to talk in an accent of our choosing to to the waitress to the waitress specifically oh okay okay not not the whole like that's annoying i don't want to have conversations with you when you're talking yeah whatever french and maybe we'll switch it up throughout the night i know maybe it Maybe it'll be like, yeah, French. And then like, oh, by the way, you're Korean now. Good luck. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Jake accent at dinner. You don't have to pay for us or anything like that. You just have to. Just liven it up. Liven it up. Okay. We actually went to dinner. Catherine and I, shout out to my parents for watching the kids.
Starting point is 00:42:41 The other night we went to a Thaiai place and i was only 90 sure this woman's accent was real like the waitress that we had you think she might have been put on a little show it was like it was like i think you're american like you're asian american and you all of a sudden like decided to have this for better tips or something like it wasn't consistent enough it was too close to like regular like a regular accent like a regular english accent and all of a sudden it was just not you go in and out i don't know about this alissa her name's alissa i don't know this uh so maybe we can go back there i could talk to her okay in her native language which is english that's right yeah we could tie it out anyway um what do i talk about
Starting point is 00:43:21 oh i think i need to give everyone an update so we've talked many times about rachel's brother and sister-in-law and their names you don't like you don't like yeah tombo uh tommy or cory yeah they had a kid uh-huh which we we talked a lot about what that kid could be named okay lucy oh it's sweet it's a nice name we've we've we've considered lucy before yeah i really like the name lucy that's. There's no way that girl's a jerk. I'm serious. Lucy? Lucy's too nice. Yeah. She might not be the coolest girl in school. I'm not saying that, but she's not going to be a jerk. She's going to be great. Teachers like her.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Oh, and I'm going to like her. I like her. You like her. As a dad, I love Lucy. Oh, didn't even think about it. Wow. You love Lucy. Teachers love Lucy. So yeah, it was good news. They named it a normal name. Bad news is this week I learned that Lucy's grandma, so
Starting point is 00:44:10 Corey's mother. Grandma Graham? Nope. Okay. Goes by the nickname Jilly Bean. Whoopsies. So one step forward, two steps backwards. By nickname, you mean like that's like what her grandkids call her? Are you going to Jilly Bean and you you know pez dispenser's house jelly bean and gumball are you going to
Starting point is 00:44:36 oh you want to you want me to put you in the car yeah come on jelly come on jelly bean a tootsie pop that would be good actually i like pop think Yeah. Come on, Jilly. Come on. Jilly Bean and Tootsie Pop. That would be good, actually. That would be pop. Think about it, Jilly. Jilly Bean and Tootsie Pop. Jilly Bean and Tootsie Pop.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Lolly and Pop. Lolly and Pop. Yeah, I don't know who calls her that necessarily, but this was, and I'm going to, I'll intentionally maybe put Rachel on blast here a little bit. She was like, whose number is that? Who's that number? I don't know. In the group text.
Starting point is 00:45:04 And her mom was like, oh, that's Jilly bean and then rachel's like oh yeah i always forget to say her number and i'm like whoa who who are we talking about here who is jilly bean um like oh that's cory's mom so and do you save it as jilly bean though i don't know if it gets saved as jilly missus jilly bean like show some respect at least capitalize the b and bean i would jilly bean yeah that's a cute like nickname for a little girl but not jilly bean and gumball yeah i like it so there's the update but otherwise cute cute newborn lucy k coop if you are writing something right now on a piece of paper with a ballpoint pen. Okay. I like your comment on YouTube or leave us a five-star review or voice memo. Another idea besides Tootsie Roll Pop or Gumball for the grandpa's name.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Okay. What would go, what would pair well with Jilly Bean? Correct. Cool. Yeah. Let us know. Thank you. And let us know how that ballpoint pen was.
Starting point is 00:46:01 I got recognized this week. Me too. All right. Let's share. Okay. Go at the same time yeah okay i was at church and right away you know uh the girl this girl walks in uh the minivan video claire from behind hey brad and i was like hey i was surprised she recognized her friend was also there her friend's name was evangeline she seemed to know who i was a little
Starting point is 00:46:20 bit nervous honestly to talk to me which was weird but i think she was like yeah actually i knew you like before but she didn't seem to know exactly what from before she watched i can't this is so weird i hate it i'm sorry guys talk about like noise over each other like i hate watching tv while i'm trying to talk to somebody oh man that'd give me a headache somebody out there like listen to both those stories very seamlessly i would like to know if that's a skill you can have like almost separate the two. Justin, are you able to put left and right on that? Stereo sound? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Can we use stereo sound on that story? I think it, yeah, he could do that. Okay. Please. Justin, please. Please, Derek. Derek could do it, Justin. Just saying.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Derek would do it and he would recolor everything. Yeah. He'd make it sound like just in case it gets played in IMAX. I did up it to that quality. So you should be good to go. Oh, yeah. He'd make it sound like just in case he gets played in an IMAX. I did up to that quality. So you should be good to go. Oh, I love that. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:09 You go ahead. Oh yeah. Anyway, I was at church. The girl, you know, the girl that recognized us in the minivan video at Chick-fil-A. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Claire was there. So, Hey Brad. So what's up? I didn't know you go to church. You're just like, Oh, I go here sometimes,
Starting point is 00:47:21 whatever, but this is my friend's church. I was like, hi, how you doing? This girl, Evangeline seemed a little bit nervous. Talk to me. It was like, I was like, is that just call you sometimes whatever but this is my friend's church. I was like, hi How you doing this girl Evangeline seemed a little bit nervous talk to me It was like I was like is that just who you are Evangeline or is this like this is like your celebrity side?
Starting point is 00:47:31 Evangeline you got social anxiety or what's going on? Well, what's what's the deal here? What's going on with all of this? You seem pretty skittish. Is this normal? You like this in class Claire? She liked this all the time, right? Evangeline, be normal. But she was like, yeah, I actually watched your videos even before Claire showed me your videos. I'm like, sweet, thank you. So I don't think it's a ghost shirt thing. I think it's just straight up jean shorts. But yeah, it was fun.
Starting point is 00:47:55 And it's always kind of awkward whenever somebody recognizes me around somebody else who like knows me without knowing that about me. Yeah. Because then they're like, wait a second. Whoa. Yeah, whatever. Why is this 16 year like, wait a second. Yeah. Whatever. Why is this 16 year old excited to meet you? Yeah. Like, what are you talking about your videos? And then I, then I saw another woman who also works at Chick-fil-A, uh, who I had gotten to know one day at Chick-fil-A. It's like a mom. Um, and she was like, yeah, later on I told,
Starting point is 00:48:19 you know, my daughters, you know, that I had met you and like, cause she, she, whatever, long story short, this woman, her husband worked with my dad at Johnson County community college. And so whatever, she was relaying all that story to this, these people. And they're like, well, you know who else like, cause she said like, yeah, he also does, he has woodworking, else cousin creations. And they're like, well, you know what else this guy does? Like, so you don't know what this guy does. So then I saw this woman again and she's like, and you didn't tell me who you were. I was like, well,
Starting point is 00:48:47 how do I do that? I didn't know you were one third turned one half of a thriving YouTube channel. That's right. So anyway, uh, so yeah, those are my two stories with that.
Starting point is 00:48:57 That's fun. Church, you know, church. It's what happens at church. Uh, mine was at, uh,
Starting point is 00:49:02 like Parkville Chick-fil-A Parkville yeah i was somewhere up there mary road i know that's that's that's a hot spot for j mayers j may oh yeah i forgot i texted you all this okay never mind i forgot that you got recognized though yeah i forgot i texted you all this uh yeah anyway basically a girl from behind who has not like i feel like i'm typically pretty observant like i've not seen this girl in front of me yet she's not come in my field of view yeah and so just somehow from behind she recognizes me and she's like you make videos and uh i was like oh hey yeah yeah i do you watch the videos and she's like yeah yeah with trey i was like yeah trey kennedy's great you know like very slowly getting it yeah like recognize me behind, but wasn't too familiar
Starting point is 00:49:46 with what we had going on, but really nice girl. We dished out a total of four, count them four, high fives in our interaction. What? Okay. Win. Let me guess. Let me guess. Let me guess. You make videos. Yes,
Starting point is 00:50:02 I do. I'm Jake. What's your name? My name is Tori. One. Oh yeah. And, uh, with Trey, right? Yes. Trey. I knew it. Give me another one. So what are you doing here at Chick-fil-A? I actually love Chick-fil-A. I eat here probably about three times a week. Um, you know, and I always order the large, but sometimes you get a medium, but I'm very direct. And I say, hey, I actually need a large. I love your assertiveness. Slap some skin, brother. And then you're done with your meal. That was the best meal I've ever had at a Parkville Chick-fil-A. Well, thank you so much for coming in. Before you leave, don't leave without a high five.
Starting point is 00:50:50 You know I won't. Sorry. Is that it? All right. So you nailed one of them. Okay. And it was the, I love your assertiveness. High five. Really? No. Oh, I believed you. Why did I believe you? You jerk. Why did I believe you? You're like, wow. Don't make fun of me for my postpartum depression i believe that i believe you on this um from what i can remember this happened like eight days ago i'm pretty sure but it was like uh she i think right away we're kind of getting she's like yeah so you um do you do you guys like make videos here? Does like Trey ever come here? You know, I was like, no, not. Oh, just go.
Starting point is 00:51:30 She is 20 and a half. Okay. Probably. Yeah. And anyway, we're just kind of getting our, you know, associated a little bit. And I think as she's leaving the first interaction, she's like, well, this was so fun. Hand is up, but kind of towards her face i'm like i think it's high five she's gonna do a skincare routine or high five could
Starting point is 00:51:49 be a wave yeah i'm gonna slowly move up and then she starts to move towards it okay okay it's high five okay sweet she's like wait i should get your autograph and i was like sure never signed an autograph in a chick-fil-a yeah and she's like, okay, I'm going to go get something. Second high five. Surely you signed an autograph with Chick-fil-A. Oh, F12. I lied to this girl. I'm a liar.
Starting point is 00:52:11 High five. I love your assertiveness. Thank you for being honest. And so she comes back with a, I also bet it was a receipt. Oh yeah. Was it your receipt?
Starting point is 00:52:21 Wait, maybe it was. That would be hardcore. I don't know where she got this. I just signed the back of a receipt. And this is so bad. I signed it so poorly that she looks at it, she surveys it. She goes, what's your last name?
Starting point is 00:52:35 I was like, yeah, sorry, I don't have the best signature. I'm still working on that. It was almost like she was playing a game where it's like, you forget someone's name who you should know it's like remind me again how you spell your name yes totally and so she was like okay if i just i don't actually want his autograph but if i act like i need his autograph then i can learn his name i could follow him on instagram one p two t's right huh jake oh what is this what is this looks like you dotted I somewhere. I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Um, so here's a fun game. Sometime write your autograph and then write your name in print and see, uh, if it's more legible to read it in print. Me? Yeah. You got some terrible handwriting. Oh,
Starting point is 00:53:18 like, I don't know if it's much easier to read it. I think you got a good hit. You got a good signature. For the most part. I don't think so. No, I to read it. I think you got a good signature. For the most part. I don't think so. No? I think print's quite a bit better.
Starting point is 00:53:28 Okay. I've just given up on the sig. I could, honestly, I should take a class. Yeah. A collector, just like a, what was that, just a handwriting class? I don't know. Pinmanship class. You should just sign your autograph very legibly.
Starting point is 00:53:42 It takes me a while. It's like you've never seen somebody like with an autograph that just like hold on looks like something that was like a fine point yeah jake trip yeah just like very like one line like straight across i'm gonna write this down rachel and i have a thing so rachel is just so fired up for summer i've talked before about how her mood is so directly affected by sunshine and so not only is she a teacher, so she's off for the summer, but then it's just nonstop sunshine.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Sure. She cannot stop talking about how excited she is for summer. And so we've decided every week this summer, there's going to be a new theme or like a new like kind of genre. Okay. For the week.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Okay. Because she's so fired up. So I'm going to add penmanship to it. So like that week, we're going to focus on penmanship. Fun. Be pen pals. Ooh. Fun. Yeah. Sherryerry that's a big step in a relationship when you share each other's pen like hey if i ever need cash atm yeah here's my pen pen pals um there's one where i'm going to
Starting point is 00:54:37 teach i'm sorry i just now i'm in my note that i've been writing down um one week is just called random random skills week where we're just going to teach each other the random skills we know so i'm going to teach rachel how to spin a basketball on her finger and how to how to shuffle and do the bridge you know shuffling cards yes you need to know that yes it makes you look way cooler way cooler yeah um one week we are going to make every meal that we eat that week oh it's kind of fun that's fun um the fact that that's like a thing for you though like yeah can you believe it we're gonna make every meal we're not gonna eat out once uh i
Starting point is 00:55:11 wrote down license and registration because i think like if anything's not accurate we're gonna spend that week we're gonna make sure we're gonna get up to date on everything like debit card credit card license uh driver's license license plates whatever we need guys this is the perfect testimony of how wonderful relationships are because that is the lamest thing i've ever heard jake is so excited about like he's excited because of the girl he's doing it with like he's excited we're gonna we're gonna update our driver's license guys it'll finally dude we're gonna check our passports and make sure that they're good oh that's so funny i love it yeah like we're gonna we're gonna make sure we're up to code
Starting point is 00:55:49 on our house like i might pay the mortgage yeah why not who knows yeah that's great i like anyway that's fun the other two high fives were when uh this chick-fil-a worker came back probably 45 minutes to an hour later and we're just there for a while i was there for a while posted up it was kind of those things oh it was before you're going to the airport yep correct i got done with trays with like two hours to spare so i don't want to drive all the way back down yeah um so yeah just kind of stayed up north and anyway she came back she's like i just wanted to say so great seeing you this is so fun yes high five yes of course this is so fun thank you for um saying what's up and yeah you have to follow the other channel i told you about jean shorts me and my brad you're gonna love brad i will
Starting point is 00:56:35 i'll see you later one more yeah so yeah they're about an hour apart but i did get a total of four high fives one receipt signed and uh and a milkshake to go nice i paid full price well sure is this is this the kind of girl that like calls you dude and bro no not quite this is the kind of girl sometimes those kind of girls are hot big high fivers yeah yeah yeah and then i try to turn one into a little more than a high five like oh yeah like a little bit of a high five's got a little movement to it. A little seismic movement. Dude.
Starting point is 00:57:08 It's so good to see you. Yeah. You're like, Oh, okay. Like we were, we were both vertical, but then you,
Starting point is 00:57:13 you switched to sideways. It's kind of dapped me up. Here we are. Now we're perpendicular. That's great. Okay. That was me getting recognized this week. Um,
Starting point is 00:57:22 pretty fun. I have something you were talking talking about Rachel and whatever. Thanks. Catherine this week did something that I think would be so up Jake Triplett's alley. Cool. And hopefully it's not up Rachel's alley. So here's the context. So she, I don't know if like she's got this idea randomly or if she got an ad on her Instagram
Starting point is 00:57:40 or whatever, but she bought this book on Amazon. It was like a logic puzzles book. Oh yeah. And she goes, she goes, I bought one of those in the airport one time. She showed me, she's like, Brad, I'm going to buy this. I'm thinking about buying two. And maybe like, it'd be a fun date night if we like tried to have a competition and we like, and we like went and see, see if you could do them faster. And I said, that sounds terrible. I don't think I would have very much fun doing that. I was like, but you should get one for yourself. So then I thought to myself, that sounds like something Jake would love. Hopefully Rachel would hate it. So maybe sometime you and Catherine could do this logic puzzles.
Starting point is 00:58:13 And I don't know what Rachel and I do. I don't know. We would shoot baskets or something. Yeah. What could you guys could, um, you guys play volleyball. I really enjoy basketball. I don't enjoy volleyball that much yet. I would, I would enjoy bumps that spike. Like just a nice like volley back and forth. Maybe some peppering. Yes. Is that where like one person hits it down, the other person just bumps?
Starting point is 00:58:34 I think a little bit. It's kind of just like playing volleyball without a net. Just like kind of hitting the ball back and forth. I would enjoy that more than she would, I think. But yeah, because I think very often I would hit it way over there. I'm sorry. I don't know why. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Rachel loves literally everything She would like it. Yeah, that'd be fun. That's what we'll do You guys will be over in the corner doing logic puzzles and more pepper that does sound fun I think Rachel would kind of like the logic puzzles do her brother is like studying for the like just took the LSAT So she's got a little logic in her. Yeah, but I don't hate him I just I don't like the idea of like competing against Catherine because I think I would lose like that I hate that I hate the idea of losing this like and I would get too flustered by like trying to do it fast. What did you get to compete with Catherine? Nah, I don't know. Nah, yeah, maybe. I don't know. If
Starting point is 00:59:14 we compete against each other, we get really, really like we can butt heads pretty quick. Maybe together though. Maybe the volleyball then. Maybe you go outside. Maybe you go play. You were right though. That is so up my alley. That's so right so fun i mean just racing and anything yeah plus logic yeah i'm all there yeah so there you go logic puzzles rachel and i've been racing into wordle recently okay and been getting destroyed really yeah like so you just say okay ready set go like are you together yeah yeah we're just like individually doing on our phones and yeah she's been dominating me so i gotta i gotta win one back here um i have uh i talked about this a couple weeks ago and someone commented like that could be a recurring segment maybe so we'll see i'm just gonna bring it up right now this is the nerve
Starting point is 00:59:54 oh yes i have the nerve the hashtag the nerve i have a new the nerve that i saw okay and i guess i'll explain it and then we'll watch it although i haven't watched it it was just like this is so fun just amazing that i'm not gonna, whatever. So I'm in, so for the, I don't know if I've ever talked about this on the podcast before. I can't remember. There was this clothing brand that I liked. I was buying a bunch of stuff from it. If you just joined their Facebook group, you got like 15% off.
Starting point is 01:00:17 So it's like, no problem. Sure. Yeah. And the stuff that gets posted on there is amazing. I mean, Facebook groups in general are pretty hilarious. Like I'm in a pickleball Facebook group and dude, it is so obnoxious and just hilarious. And it's, it's primarily people 40 and over just with nobody to talk to and nowhere to go and just arguing or just saying played with Gail today.
Starting point is 01:00:43 It's like, this is like a Facebook group with 50,000 like what are you talking about it's just amazing you guys know gail gail was great yeah and um dude there's a guy maybe we should find this and talk about it too there's a guy in this pickleball group that every day writes a blog post and now that i've noticed it i just look for it it's awesome what constitutes a blog post like i guess i should just say like maybe okay maybe that's a little much he writes really long captions of just maybe a picture of himself it's just about pickleball okay and it's just like i can't like why are like what what's the payoff here like what are you doing this for so we'll get to that maybe a little bit but okay this uh clothing brand um the post on here i love cinnamon rachel because it's dudes so into themselves okay that's
Starting point is 01:01:27 what the facebook group is into like yeah they're just posting like mirror pics selfies self-timer photos yeah um curve him granite colored goes hard at the gym like oh just stuff like that just so annoying just like just what's the brand cuts cuts okay i really want to like this brand but it's so hard to yeah their stuff's great but the community is awful it's just so it's like maybe the demographic is wrong i know it's so self-absorbed dudes it's just it's hilarious anyway i saw something i've never seen today hashtag the nerve this guy goes yo granite staple color is too clean hope you bob your head to this original jam he posted an original song of him playing the guitar in like a cuts t-shirt just like an excuse to be like yo hope you guys like it i really like this shirt it goes great with my new music
Starting point is 01:02:19 this shirt is gray and i think this song is great grant don't take this song for granite so i have not listened to this uh david loss i haven't seen this i don't know what's about to be in this song i'm ready to bob my head but get ready to bob your head i'm gonna turn uh the sound up and we're gonna click uh replay can i turn the vibes up as well my turn of the bobs up yeah it's bob it up. Here we go. Hey, okay, this is already better than I was expecting.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Bob so much base. Is he going to sing? Oh, dang it. He's not singing. Dang it. You bob in your head though yeah dude hey all right dang it yeah there was only 29 seconds i really it was when i saw that i was like no way this dude just like posted a video of himself singing. Dang it. That was slightly disappointing, but still a little bit the nerve.
Starting point is 01:03:26 That's still pretty self-righteous. The nerve to... What's the best case scenario here, dude? That's what I want to know. He's not posting affiliate links. We're all already buying this brand. That's why we're in this group. What is this for? Do you want another dude to be like,
Starting point is 01:03:41 bro, this shirt looks good. I'm a talent scout for Snoop Dogg. He wants to get on that track, dude. Like, that's the best case scenario, I guess. But how many Snoop Dogg guys are wearing cuts? It has two comments. One is from cuts. I feel like they were probably just like, I mean, we got to respond to this guy.
Starting point is 01:04:02 They said straight crushing this emoji. Straight crushing. So not even really a sentence that makes sense. Americans with your violent language. Crushing it. Killing it. You're crushing it. You blew up.
Starting point is 01:04:17 And then he responded to cuts with prayer hands emoji and then knuckles touching emoji. Which one is that? Two different knuckles? Two knucks in one. Two birds, one stone. Two knucks, one moj. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:30 I don't know if I've necessarily seen this either. Anyway, just I can't get over. Yeah. Just the nerve. That personality of just like, yo. Okay. Do we make fun of this guy or do we take a page from this guy and start putting our Jeanshort stuff on here?
Starting point is 01:04:48 Wait, oh that is what brain is the polka dots? That's built. Okay. I could find a Facebook group for that Yeah, like look at these comments guys do not Wear this I think we do it. I think we just we just lean into it man Rachel for a long time is said like next time we do some bet and you lose it, the consequence is you have to post in here. You have to do like a, like a, could be always doing like Friday fit check. She's like, you have to do one of those and like use like at least six emojis. I think, I think we do that right now just for fun, uh, with your shorts. Like don't even wear, don't even wear built stuff or cut stuff. If you don't want to just,
Starting point is 01:05:25 you just have to push your, put your like pictures of you and your shorts for the rest of April. Oh, on the ghost hunters Facebook group. No, no on this Facebook group. And, and like,
Starting point is 01:05:33 don't give any context. They'll be like, dude, that's, I don't think that's our shirt. It's like, Oh, this,
Starting point is 01:05:37 this shirt's amazing though. And then like people from the ghost hunters get joined this, like what's the Facebook group call? We can all join. And it'll be like this really great like small inside joke. This is fun.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Let me think about this first, but this is fun. Or I don't hate the idea of you posting to Facebook or Ghostwriters Podcast Facebook group either, but just keep some accountability in the group.
Starting point is 01:05:58 No, that's great. Just like, oh, just keeping these like tool captions going. Just like, yo. Yes. Split him goes hard in comedy sketches 100 emoji fist pound emoji yeah they'd be like oh this isn't really what we're used to seeing on here yeah you should yeah it'd be funny like yeah like you're almost leaning into this
Starting point is 01:06:18 character and people think it's for real like you're just messing with them though yeah that'd be fun that's kind of i don't normally do stuff like that but that is that kind of fun that's my that's right up my alley i love i love like pretending people not knowing you're messing with them yeah um okay here's a funny thing um i love funny things so here's the funny thing uh you ready yeah i'm gonna go find that dude's blog post on his facebook group i'm listening though uh so so whenever i had all this sickness and stuff i went to the ent uh and they gave me this your nose throat yeah and you even like texted you're like don't leave there without getting the steroid shot yeah oh yeah i got a new shot i'm big on i was talking to rachel's mom about what do you know what a cortisone shot and i've heard of i
Starting point is 01:07:03 don't know much i feel like they're like pretty strong it sounds like i want one from what i'm hearing it just like puts from what i understand a cushion back in your knee oh yeah that's right that sounds awesome all right sorry keep going that does sound nice yeah great um no so so they gave me these meds one of them was prednisone pred pred pred prednisone um and i have been taking it in like the past, I don't know, week or so. I've been like feeling uncontrollably like dry mouth, like feeling like I always need to drink something or something. Like it's like this very, the very uncomfortable thing. And I drink water and just doesn't go away. And so I'm like, is this a normal thing? So I Googled like side effects of prednisone and, uh, I didn't see anything about dry mouth, but I did see two other ones I thought were really
Starting point is 01:07:50 funny. The first one was bulging eyes, which I just love that. Like, you know, Catherine's just talking to me. So like Brad, so I was like, you know, I just bulge out those eyes. Sorry, it's the prednisone talking. And then the other one that I thought was just like weird and like what a weird thing to write down was inappropriate happiness. Inappropriate happiness. Inappropriate happiness. So I would like to do a little bit of role play here. Yeah. How's that work?
Starting point is 01:08:18 Just like, okay. Hello, Brad and the family. Um, obviously this is never an easy decision, but we do need to decide, uh, how you would like him buried. Um, we obviously, we do offer cremation service, uh, cremation services. Do not cremate. Um, do it. Do not cremate. I've always wanted to bury him. No. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:08:52 We've always talked about burying Sparky if we were to that point. Sorry, that was the prednisone. Excuse me? I had some prednisone, so I get some inappropriate happiness sometimes. All right. Hey, obviously, you know, this is ultimately going to be Catherine's choice. I know she said she wanted it all natural, but it does seem like she's in a lot of pain.
Starting point is 01:09:19 She is unresponsive right now. She's crying right now dude she's bawling her eyes out dude i'm sorry i'm sorry dude it's a brand you know the brand i got the zone i'm in this i'm in the p zone i'm sorry um oh yeah it is agonizing to watch her be like this um yeah is it too late for the pitocin you think um sir i would like a word with you uh i was in the play place earlier and your daughter pushed my son to the ground. Excuse me? She, let me finish, please. That is incredibly rude.
Starting point is 01:10:13 She pushed him to the ground and said, Rock Chalk Jayhawk. I don't know what that is supposed to mean. I'm not a bird lover myself, but. Oh, I'm sorry, dude. Oh, okay. Is something funny? No, no, I'm'm sorry it's just the prednisone oh we actually are really working on her hitting yeah i'm sorry oh oh man no i will i will tell her not to hit and then give her five spankings when we get home. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:10:48 Yeah, absolutely. Maybe give her some prednisone. And scene. All right. Yeah. I was going to say, please. I think we're done because that laughing always gives me a little bit of a headache. Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Oh, man. Inappropriate happiness. Inappropriate happiness. What a great side effect. effect you know just like unspeakable joy you know it's right there right sorry dude i went to church this week nice end of story no uh the they had a guest speaker and he was the president of compassion like international it was awesome really yeah great story he which this is interesting he didn't tell us his story until like probably three-fourths of the way into the sermon like it was a unique approach i think i would have liked him more had i heard his story right at the beginning interesting missionary kid born and raised from zero to 15 in west africa in a village only white kid there
Starting point is 01:11:40 just so many crazy stories he said one year there was a famine bugs ate all the crops they eat termites for a year. Termites, Brad. Okay, so in high school, you're supposed to do like an attention-grabbing thing at the beginning of a talk? Yeah, that's an attention-grabbing thing. Yeah, not three-fourths of the way in, Wes.
Starting point is 01:11:54 I've never heard of anybody eating termites. Yeah. Better yet, for a whole year. Rachel gasped out loud at church. Yeah. Couldn't help it. Yeah. Termites.
Starting point is 01:12:03 Clutched her pearls. My stars. Clutched her pearls. Wow. I would love Rachel to wear pearls at church yeah couldn't help it yeah termites clutch your pearls my stars clutch your pearls i would love rachel to wear pearls at church do you look great in pearls sure no uh but yeah he said if you eat them raw which i thought he was joking but he went on he kept talking he's like yeah you know you eat them raw they kind of um what do you say tastes like oh peppermint what he said they kind of crawl around your mouth but if you swallow them it kind of tastes like peppermint he said but you can cook them over of crawl around your mouth. If you swallow them, it kind of tastes like peppermint. He said, but you can cook them over an open fire and put a little salt on them and it
Starting point is 01:12:28 tastes like popcorn. He said for a year they ate termites. Is that true of real peppermint too? Like if you put it over open fire, it turns into popcorn? It's just a cycle. You go from termite to peppermint to popcorn. Mince goes to buttery. Yeah, buttery nice.
Starting point is 01:12:40 I don't know. It's like sugar to caramel. I love that. What a just positive outlook on life to caramel i love that like what a what a um just positive outlook on life to be like you know what and honestly no matter how you how you have it it tastes good anyway i mean it's either peppermint you know and that just refreshes you refreshes your mouth like well hey do you i just had a lot of onions on my burger do you mind throwing a few cockroaches my way you know or you popcorn. You got a great movie snack.
Starting point is 01:13:05 Yeah. Movie snack. Yeah. You're leaving a bar grill. Yeah. Oh, they have free termites. They got raw mites. Raw termites right there.
Starting point is 01:13:13 Yeah. Oh, that's good. So I don't know what necessarily caused me to remember that just now, but. That is interesting that he didn't like establish or like who he was, you know, before. Yeah. What a great background to come from that was so fascinating but anyway cool termites interesting they're not all bad uh i found one of the facebook posts i can't find the one that i really really liked
Starting point is 01:13:35 okay but this is from this is from dane on the facebook group and keep in mind one of these happens every single day every day there's a new post like this. Oh, this is the blog post. Oh, sorry. This is a pickleball Facebook group. Okay. I imagine he kind of scoffs like that. I'll add some of those in there when I do it. Okay. Yesterday doesn't matter. I had good tournament results last year.
Starting point is 01:14:04 And I've started 22 on the right path but who cares it doesn't matter what we did in the past no what have you done for me lately you better believe that other players are training and coming in hot that doesn't even really make that much sense okay yeah what have you done for me lately? Seems out of the, out of the blue. Use the confidence from your successes, but stay humble, remain hungry and pretend you haven't won a thing.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Good. For those on the opposite end of this example, basically like for those of you who don't just win and win and win, like me, don't know how to play and haven't had the results that maybe you wanted. Lose all the excuses of why not. And adjust something in your training program. Which I'm sure everyone reading this is doing a training program.
Starting point is 01:14:56 It's like, oh, I'll just adjust. A skincare routine in a training program. I'll adjust my TP. You haven't won. Not because of what you did on the competition court, but instead because of what you're not doing before the competition begins. It's not your partner's fault. It's not the sun.
Starting point is 01:15:16 It's not the sun. It's not the wind. It's not the tournament director's fault. It's all on you. Look in the mirror, bud. It's you, hey what do you need to improve in your practice schedule stay humble remain hungry hashtag oh mental game oh hashtag hashtag never believe the hype one more that one is where's that even come from did he talk about
Starting point is 01:15:45 that never believe the hype hashtag yeah lose all excuses give it up for dane for that one i'll say i'll say like obviously all sports are kind of ridiculous and like silly and it's just a game or whatever but man like like at least i kind of get it when LeBron's like, Hey man, I wasn't focused today. Yeah. Like I can, I can see that. I gotta, I gotta really work harder. Like, but man, you're playing a game with a plastic wiffle ball on a, on a small tennis court because you're not like in shape enough to play on a big tennis court. Yeah. Like, like, like I understand like all sports in the grand scheme of things are silly. Most things in life are silly,
Starting point is 01:16:28 but like pickleball is sillier than most sports. And he is acting like it is so serious. I mean, every single day, dude, there's one of those. That's great. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Let me try and find one more. I screenshot it and send it to Rachel. It was just, it was awesome. He does all these. Honestly, I should probably put some music behind it because he is he keeps them coming with the post.
Starting point is 01:16:50 But hey, mad respect. He's got something he likes. He's got a hobby. Good for him. I can't find it. I'll find it later. Look at how much Jake's scrolling up, man. They are just communicating. These are just pictures. Look at them. These are just pictures. I love sending pics. pics yeah what kind
Starting point is 01:17:06 i'm a big gift guy you are a big gift guy i don't know if i've sent rachel a gift really we're waiting yeah that's not your spiritual gift nice love language i mean dang it gifts spiritual gift yeah it's fine um yeah you are a big gift guy you sent one to me when i was state one and i had to wear shorts yeah i sent a shorts gift it was a great shorts did you get that it was about shorts i did okay i knew exactly what was happening unfortunately i'm big big giffer the big giffer all right i can't find it brad it's not worth it it's pretty much the same thing that you already heard. Post it on Patreon.com. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. Okay, cool. I'll stop looking for this. I'm distracted.
Starting point is 01:17:51 Okay. How long have we been recording? It's been a while. Maybe a voice memo or two. How about it, Jacob? How about it? Let's have a day with those voice memos. Let's have a day. It's a bad day to be anchor.fm. I wouldn't want to be one of those voice memos. We're about to kill it. All right, here we go. Joanna P. Hey, Jake and Brad. Hey.
Starting point is 01:18:09 So it's currently 1230 at night. I have class in seven hours, but I am in a literal crisis. I started listening to this podcast a little over a year ago, and I have listened to every episode two to four times okay yeah it's a problem what's the crisis it's a problem i need another podcast so my question for you guys is what podcast do y'all listen to yeah what would you recommend for me something clean something funny something light like this podcast um yeah i need something because it's gonna be a problem um anyways thank you i love the podcast obviously uh bye crisis drana p what do you say we upped
Starting point is 01:18:51 that to three to five times per episode i'd say what do you think about that yeah let's quiz you real fast what if you watch on youtube yeah hey uh comment below on youtube uh some trivia questions for joanna p that you should know if you've listened to the podcast two to four times two to four times see if you can see. See if Joanna P can pass the test. And see if Joanna P can get there. Joanna P, fire up that Gmail account. I want to see you on YouTube.com this week. Yes. Please do. And please have the name Joanna P. Don't have something else.
Starting point is 01:19:13 Or else we'll be confused. Okay. It has to be Joanna P. Yeah. Let's do. Let's put a hashtag next to him so she'll know. Hashtag Joanna P. Q's for Joanna P. Yeah. Perfect. That's exactly what I was going to say. Q's for Drana P is a answer. Answer. Whatever.
Starting point is 01:19:28 Figure it out. My first thought was walk in love. We love them. TJ just texted me right before we started recording. Oh, no, he's the man. He called me the other day. That's fun for 15 minutes. And it was wonderful.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Yeah, he he has those like eight minute drives. OK, he's called me on him before. He's like, there's a minute drive between this and this. I just like to call people. I think. And he like, like so often I do not, I like screen calls from people. Cause I'm like, man, I want to talk to that person, but I know it's going to be like an hour and a half, two hours. I don't have that time. I don't, I don't, I don't either have that time or I don't want to have that time right now. Yeah. You know? And I didn't, I didn't like answer that like phone call with the anticipation that was
Starting point is 01:20:05 only going to be 15 minutes. I was, I was kind of like, Hey, I think I might talk to TJ here for an hour and a half, but I was like, I like TJ. I prepared to do that. And I was, yeah, I was. And we talked for a little bit and he's like, all right, I just wanted to call him and say hi. And I was like, that's awesome. Awesome. Yeah. Do that more often. Yeah. Cause then you're not, you're not stuck with like being like, crap, I can't, I can't take this much time right now. So shout out to TJ. Yeah. Walk in love podcast is TJ and his wife, Brooke, and they're both really funny. TJ, I would say has really similar, like goofy humor to us. Um, but they also have much more intentional conversations. Um, yeah, about their faith and, uh, just family. Um, yeah. And they're
Starting point is 01:20:42 just really, really cool, fun people. So we like to support them a lot. Um, I don't know. The other ones that I listened to are either not, uh, the cleanest because they're, I mean, they're,
Starting point is 01:20:54 they're just mostly language, uh, or they're sports related or they're parenting related. Okay. So I don't know what Joanne is, uh, up to these days, but parenting wise,
Starting point is 01:21:01 well, even then those are like dad related parenting ones. Like there's a dadville that I like a lot. Uh, John McLaughlin, Dave Barnes do that. Um, that's fun. There's a, yeah. Jefferson Bethke has some good five minute fatherhood ones, which I think you could also relate to, uh, women, but they're great. Cause they're just like small, you know, bite size, little like five minute, six minute long things, which is great. Um, and then there was one called the intentional family that i really liked i think i mentioned that one before uh that
Starting point is 01:21:29 one is really good that's with beth key and john tyson the one that you guys are so violent with your success you're killing it you're crushing it anyway that's him so that's awesome um that's cool yeah i think walk in love is my main suggestion um which as we backtracked we think that's how i was just texting tj i told him i was like we're talking about you right now i said watch at the hour and 17 minute mark on youtube next week's episode you'll see me typing up nice um but we think that's how rachel did find us yes we backtracked it so which golly owe them a lot thank you very much yeah yeah seriously um harrison just started a podcast he's recording it right now oh really yeah he's uh i
Starting point is 01:22:06 don't know how many episodes they're on but him and one of his buddies just started one i listened to the first episode it was fun did you really yeah that's so nice of you of course yeah what's called sporty good times sporty good times yeah yeah tonight they're ranking they're doing a bracket of like the worst they're like the ugliest old college mascots of all time oh wow it looks he like sent me which harrison printed off like sheets of paper for it I was like this like took me back to the 90s so he had me look through I was like this is great oh wow so check him out oh yeah they're yeah they're fun I think they'll hit their stride and yeah yeah that's so fun shoot I had another idea whenever you said who else has started a podcast
Starting point is 01:22:38 after us gas boys gas boys uh the dads d-a-d-z yeah that's the I'm Down Boys I'm Down Boys have a little thing Dustin Nickerson I think his podcast is okay I've only listened to it a few times I love his stand-up clips his are always like
Starting point is 01:22:52 suggested underneath underneath ours yeah and he's pretty funny there's one that he did with Trey actually he got he interviewed Trey
Starting point is 01:23:00 and he did a good job with that one I didn't know that Nate Bargetzi is another one that I think is pretty good yeah I like their clips nate land i believe yeah so good suggestions cool things to get into drana consider yourself out of the crisis all right let's do one more hey jake and brad it's brie so i'm an identical twin and my sister and i always get asked the
Starting point is 01:23:23 same question how can i tell you guys apart? And I want to say, you're the one looking at us. You tell me anyway, I want to know what tactics you guys would use. If you had to tell the difference between identical twins, would you look for temporary differences like their clothes or more permanent,
Starting point is 01:23:39 like a birthmark, or would you just guess and blame it on COVID COVID COVID? All right, guys, that's it for today. Thanks for covid all right guys that's it for today thanks for being a podcast that's it for today slightly better than silence that's it for today like she like we're watching her youtube channel all right guys that's all i have for you today make sure to like subscribe i'll be back with another voice memo later love
Starting point is 01:23:58 you guys yeah uh this is funny brie hopper voice memo. That made me chuckle. That was good. Twins. Let's see. I just, I never have a hard time. Like I've never met a set of twins and I'm like, I don't know which one you are. I have to not really know you. Like I think once you get to know them, you could find the differences, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:19 Well, I guess it depends on how old they are. But like, yeah, as a teenager plus, I think it's, I've always had like, yeah, you guys have differences. Like whatever. Like your eyes look a little different different like it's not like you're the exact same thing yeah i think if you if you're like if you're bringing you're like i mean it's kind of hard to differentiate so we look very much alike you gotta you gotta up the ante you gotta start doing things that your twin is unable to do like really get dressed in the morning really do it up it's just like in that basketball spin that ball yeah like curl your hair every single day yeah that's what i was thinking like different colors or different hairstyles put in the work that the other twin's not willing to
Starting point is 01:24:53 put in yeah yeah just be the hot twin don't be afraid yeah there's gonna be one either either way oh there were there was definitely these two twins back in the day jared and dallas conley oh they're the girls loved them yeah but I think they love one more than the other. And it's because he had longer hair. Which one? Dallas. Dallas. He was a nicer guy too.
Starting point is 01:25:09 And that is Dallas. That's Dallas. Yeah. Anyway, both good dudes though. I dated identical twins in college and it was easy to keep track because one had long hair and one had short hair. I thought you were going to make a joke. Because one kissed me back and one did not.
Starting point is 01:25:24 Because one was a nice person and the other one cheated on me when i went to cabo so that was how i kept track of them so yeah so that's one way you could do it you know one could text you back the other could say your phone is dead yeah however you want to however you want to differentiate them right one did logic puzzles with me the other one said no that's dumb um one generally treated me with respect the other one got married pretty quickly after we broke up so that's another way you could switch things um those are my thoughts that's pretty those are my thoughts yeah that's kind of funny
Starting point is 01:26:00 i'll thank you guys for the voice memos you're welcome and all the other things you do i just i never want to take for granted that there's voice memos that there's youtube comments that there's reviews every single week since we've began that's good they're always there i think some some weeks i definitely take them for granted i probably do too yeah and i don't want to good word we will we'll try not to ever the the the memes oh there was a really good one this week oh by the way what's his name desmond he's been crushing it on facebook yeah but go go go go yeah oh yeah we have to play that clip i laughed out loud actually that won't really translate well hey i think a little bit i think it will if you know it's it's the scene from the office where
Starting point is 01:26:34 dwight uh sets the smoke detectors off yeah the super bowl episode oh dude it's so fun you posted for hattie's birthday 40 comments just all talking about their favorite so fun do you read the hattie oh yeah yeah okay dinner tonight i was like i was like i want i want us all to talk about why we love hattie and of course like at lunch we also did this with our friends will will severance and his wife and branch was like you know the little four-year-old son uh she's really uh fun and hattie goes yes i am that's right i pushed a girl down at chick-fil-a anyway no yeah that was really fun to like see how they see hattie which is obviously so fun anyway that's so great yeah um desmond made this one also shout out to ross he's been making some
Starting point is 01:27:18 fun stuff he like photoshopped he's doing stack like brad last week it was like stack when see that one yeah yeah okay so here is the clip of that Desmond edited and here we go go go go hey no michael no touch the handle if it's hot there could be a fire in the hallway everybody covid oh my god okay it's happening everybody covered not a viable like the groans and then the not a viable option yeah it's so good also shout out to and Andrew and Katie Bennett. Been hitting the memes hard on Reddit still. It's great. Bush and Bennett. What?
Starting point is 01:28:08 Third Bush and Bennett. So Bush and Bennett. Yep. I love the one they did of you. It said Brad catching a whiff of some pantaloons. And it was Kevin in the office. And the caption was redone. It said, I love the smell of diva on a woman.
Starting point is 01:28:24 That's so funny. We have funny fans, man. Yeaha on a woman that's so funny we have funny fans man yeah i know it's so great yeah um so yeah thank you guys for being great and making this so fun and yes i posted a patreon clip right before this of uh because we shot with the girls finally girls gone mild we had our first shoot day today and so i filmed a little behind the scenes clip and you guys are just so just supportive and i don't think it's blind support i think you guys want to see us and our friends succeed and so it was fun to see you guys want to see us and our friends succeed. And so it was fun to see you guys like, can't wait for this channel and everything. So I have no doubt you guys will help get that channel off the ground.
Starting point is 01:28:50 And it won't be out for like another month or so, but it's exciting. Yeah. You want to do some reviews of the week? Yes, I do. Okay. Mine is from Everdrell. Yes, she's nice. Positive, encouraging, go starters podcast.
Starting point is 01:29:03 I think that's funny. You bet. It's not instead of Caleb. Five stars is what this one was. That's nice. Positive, encouraging ghost writers podcast. I think that's funny. You bet. Instead of Caleb. Five stars is what this one was. That's great. In a world where negativity and vulgarity are common in the media, this podcast is absolutely a breath of fresh air. Just two Christian guys talking about the quirky and mundane things
Starting point is 01:29:16 that happen in their lives in an entertaining way. I promise you will feel happy at the end of each episode. Whoa. My favorite part is that listening to them gives me hope that good guys do exist in the world. Oh, and it's not about ghosts at all. Remember a simpler time when you played wiffle ball in the backyard with your brother and you'd say there's a ghost around second because it was just the two of you playing such a happy memory for me. That's the inspiration behind the name. This podcast is just that a simple, wholesome,
Starting point is 01:29:40 good time with two guys who will soon feel like your friends thank you everjule that's awesome everjule well said yeah that was fun um mine is from the username says proud to be a ghosty she says or he late one night this past week i accomplished an impressive feat i finished listening to every single ghost on our episode yes thank you snap snap snaps now you'll be thinking huh was it worth it yes and if trey Kennedy were to ever say otherwise, his opinion would be incorrect. Now, despite my Trey reference, I could probably say I became a fan of Jake and Brad before Trey. Thanks to my twin sis... Uh-oh.
Starting point is 01:30:14 This is insane. Brie Hopper? Maybe. Thanks to my twin sister's amazing recommendation, I have been a listener for the past two años. Okay. I don't know why I said años. She said years. Jake and Big Daddy have been a big comfort in my life through thick and thin.
Starting point is 01:30:27 Not only did they become role models for me, but every time I tune in for some ghosty content, I feel like I'm listening to my best friends. That's so fun. You guys say that all the time, and that's so fun. Yeah, it is. Yeah. Okay, back to the review. Jake's passion is inspirational.
Starting point is 01:30:38 He's a great example of how to follow your dreams. I know it's a little cheesy, but stick with me here. Brad's respect for his wife is honorable. And despite the fact that I've never had the honor of meeting him in person, I get the vibe that he's the type of guy to light up a room when he comes in or gets a party started. That's a great description. Together, these two make the most entertaining podcast.
Starting point is 01:30:56 Thanks for the laughs, J&B. A smiley face emoticon. Lots of love from first-time reviewer Claire. Ah. There you go. Not Brie Hopper. P.S. See you in Boston, Jake.
Starting point is 01:31:06 Wow. That is the day after this, the day before this came out. Holy cow. This Sunday. Yeah. Where are you going this week? Sorry. I was, I didn't ask that yet.
Starting point is 01:31:13 It is. Oh, that's okay. Yeah. Finally back on the road. It's been like a month, a month of no travel. Gosh. It's nice. I only went to Florida and Fargo.
Starting point is 01:31:20 And Phoenix. And Phoenix. We have Vermont, Rhode Island, Boston, some other place in Massachusetts, Medford, and then one other city. Cool. You know. Albany.
Starting point is 01:31:36 That's a good guess. New York City. I think they wanted us to come to Albany. We almost did it. You almost did it. Albany. Portland, Maine. I knew that because that's where we got the limo from. And somebody commented that they were going to be at that show where we got the limo from, kind of. And somebody commented that they were going to be at that show or something like that. Oh, yeah. I'm hooking Lindsay Merchant up with some tickets.
Starting point is 01:31:50 Lindsay Merchant? You know her. Oh, yeah. I thought she was from somewhere else. I know. Kentucky? That's what I thought, too. She's like a farmer in Kentucky.
Starting point is 01:31:58 Yeah. Lindsay Merchant, let us know. At least in my head, that's who that is, right? She was at F12. She was at Pickleball. And she was at the basketball game. Yeah, yeah, yeah's no. That's at least in my head. That's who that is. Right. She was at F12. She was at pickleball. And she was at the, um, the basketball. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:07 Yeah. Yeah. We've seen her a multitude of times. What if we're just completely wrong? We think somebody's wrong. That's funny to me for some reason. All right. No way of knowing.
Starting point is 01:32:17 Brad, would you like to end this episode with a jingle that you sing? Come on. I'm ready. Uh, Ross France bringing the heat. Oh gosh. Ross is awesome. Whoa. This is that sound at the beginning when it's like, this is a karaoke song. Oh.
Starting point is 01:32:29 You know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know how they do that? I do. Is anything playing yet? Yes, it is. I'm going to put headphones on today. we tune in every monday morning for random thoughts on white meat sounds pretty so far please from pickleball to woodworking come on now y'all get on your feet jake and brad they are best friends and that's the freaking truth. Starting point is 01:38:43 uh i'm gonna say the electric showman the, I almost said the electric showman, the greatest showman. The electric showman. That's called the prestige. Spoiler. Yeah, that's great. That's funny,
Starting point is 01:38:52 dude. Dude, you should have a podcast. Man, we should start a podcast. That was quick witted. That was quick witted. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:38:58 no. Oh, Ross wrote that one. Ross, great song choice. And that one was one that was like, he wrote it and then it got buried. Like I was like,
Starting point is 01:39:04 crap, who wrote that one? I forgot who wrote that one. It he wrote it and then it got buried. Like I was like, crap, who wrote that one? I forgot who wrote that one. It sounded like it was probably after the Tony and Michelle episode. Right, yeah. It was written November 15th of 2021. So great time of year. Yeah, anyway.
Starting point is 01:39:15 Dude. I don't even think that's right. No, it was written September 6th of 2020. Ah, right before Caitlin's birthday. And then I think I said on the podcast in like November, like, I lost this thing. Let me know who wrote it. So Ross Frans might be going back to back here because he wrote another really great one.
Starting point is 01:39:30 Back to back. Good. Good, Ross. He's also the one who wrote We Didn't Start the Fire. So killing it. So thanks, Ross. Killing it. Really appreciate all the jingle writing because, yeah, couldn't do it without you guys.
Starting point is 01:39:42 It's great. It's fun. Yeah. Fun episode. Fun week. I guess I didn't really talk about it but i had so much fun in florida with rachel and her family yeah i guess it's so fun kind of like what you were saying like you know you just didn't have to think about much or whatever like i feel like i've done a good job more recently like when i'm on vacation i'm not writing any notes for anything like i'm not working i'm not thinking about would this be a podcast story it's just i'm there and it's so fun right that's awesome and um yeah so rachel our whole family are so great i
Starting point is 01:40:08 mean it's exactly my kind of vacation we go down there we wake up we play sports outside awesome we come home at night maybe we watch march madness or the office or we play cards are you kidding me that is are you kidding me yeah that's things. What? I should have some logic puzzles for me and Tim next time. Next time. Yeah. What city was it close to? Like outside of Sarasota. Okay.
Starting point is 01:40:31 Anna Marie Island. Oh yeah. I've heard of it. Have you really? I've been there. Actually, I will. Whoa. White Sand Beaches.
Starting point is 01:40:37 Sure. You've been there, huh? Yeah. We went on vacation there one time. That is fun. That is cool. That is cool. It doesn't seem like that popular place i
Starting point is 01:40:45 can't believe you've been yeah i think it might i have cousins that live in florida so maybe they know a little bit more than most you know i don't know that is so fun mom if you're listening make sure it's annamarie i'm pretty sure either way i mean it's a three or four syllable place yeah i did think of uh one like potential character it wouldn't be a very like it'd have to be for a short but a character like the mom who buys like vacation merch like rachel's mom doesn't do this or anything but there are people out there like i just witnessed so many moms like wearing annamore island comfort colors 100 my family growing up yeah really yeah my dad's like my dad was always rocking the colorado t-shirt like oh yeah we went to like a restaurant like a seafood
Starting point is 01:41:21 restaurant it's called the ugly grouper and like they're selling their own merch. Yeah. I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan of the bar and grill merch. Who buys restaurant merch? Not a fan of the bar and grill merch. Who needs a visor that says. Eskimo Joe's. Oh, yeah. Whatever.
Starting point is 01:41:32 I don't know the title. Or the Ron John. Remember Ron John back in the day? Sure. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know who's buying it, but somebody is. And I think it's a funny like character quality.
Starting point is 01:41:39 No, you're right. Like they buy just, they just love buying merchandise. Oh, here's a fun thing. I think we could get the ghosties help on comment below leave a five-star review voicemail whatever uh jake had a fun idea for the sheltered kid right i forgot i had that idea yeah yeah that was good and and like we i think it could be even like a really great series of like sheltered kid does blank sheltered kid whatever uh so if you have any sort of background of being sheltered which i think a lot of people probably a lot of people probably have like i'm thankful i was somewhat
Starting point is 01:42:08 sheltered you know it's not a bad thing no it's not a bad thing so don't be ashamed of it or whatever but like think about things that you didn't know or like that you know you found out later right things you were sheltered from let us know if you have any ideas for that could end up in a gene source video also potential shell like if you have any ideas of like scenes that this shelter person would be in yeah yeah because we forgot about that thanks for I think it's gonna be really funny
