Starting point is 00:00:00 Brad, I feel like people don't acknowledge enough what they're saying sometimes, specifically the dumbest ways to start sentences. Okay. So for example, I love any sentence that starts with, so needless to say, we ended up... Yes, yes. Don't, why are you, shut up. Why are you saying anything?
Starting point is 00:00:19 You said needless to say. Needless to say. Don't say another, don't say another word. Like... Needless to say. Yeah, okay. Hey, I'm no doctor, but if you, if you hear I'm no doctor, you strap in for some of the worst medical advice you've ever heard. Most anecdotal evidence you've ever gotten. I'm no doctor, but that one time I had three sniffles in a row that did not feel good and it ended up being walking pneumonia. So I get
Starting point is 00:00:43 that checked out. I'm no doctor, but my aunt has been posting some stuff on facebook you guys should check it out hillary clinton is i wouldn't eat the pizza in dc i wouldn't yeah there's unless you're in a gated community do not check out that pizza no i yeah i totally needless to say it's to say um what about like no offense yeah no. No offense. Hey, no offense. With all due respect. With all due respect. I'm going to hurt your feelings. No offense.
Starting point is 00:01:10 I'm going to say something really offensive right now. Like, Hey, don't freak out. It's like, okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:15 You, you, you triggered my alarm on that one. Don't freak out. But, uh, I think we might have to amputate your arm. I'm no doctor.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Don't freak out. Uh, uh, Oh, Ooh, I, Ooh, I think we might have to amputate your arm. I'm no doctor. Don't freak out. I'm a doctor. Uh-oh. Ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white meat too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along. Let's have some fun and go ahead.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Get on your feet because it's the Ghost Rums Podcast. Ghost Rums Podcast. Every Monday morning we're taking ground. Ghost Rums Podcast. Speaking of no doctors, I really liked the essential oils video when we did the thing about the like sleepy, sneezy, dopey.
Starting point is 00:01:59 You're like, what's next seven dwarf doc. And I was like, Whoa, not get, keep doctors out of this. Doc is probably one of the last things that would be involved in the oils yeah that was great i loved a lot of people a lot
Starting point is 00:02:10 of people gave me some nice uh encouragement for that one they gave me some encouragement you guys scored a lot of points with your lds viewers too yeah i'll take a little credit for that so lots of cop what do Wait, what do you mean? What do you mean by that? Why do you think that there was a woman driver? Well, it's probably needless to say. Needless to say, they know. They know you know.
Starting point is 00:02:34 They wanted more mun. More munny. More mun. Yeah, that's all I got. Nice. It's been a long time since we recorded. This is episode 162. Baseball.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Baseball season. Yeah? No, wait. It's been going on. No, no, no. 162 games. Is that what you're trying to say? Yeah, how many games are in a baseball season?
Starting point is 00:02:54 Well, I don't know these days. 162. I thought you were saying like- Okay, okay, thanks. I thought you were saying like, hey, it's been like 162 episodes. Like, guys, it's baseball season now. And I'm like, oh yeah, Jake.
Starting point is 00:03:04 That's right. Good. The sales, yeah, the's baseball season now. And I'm like, oh yeah, Jake, that's right. The sales, yeah, the department does do the sales. Summertime. I just now realized why you said baseball season. Baseball season, yeah, it took me a second to- Baseball season episode. Well, these days, yeah. Guys, it's in season for baseball.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Like we could go to a game right now. Why don't we talk about this more? Well, baseball season, didn't it like shorten this year because of strikes or something? I think they got all the games strikes it was balls or strikes or mounds they said something about the mounds short stop it was a shorter stop many mounds bars yeah something about yeah they were going on strike which is confusing when a baseball player goes on strike because you get three so should we even care about the first yeah right i mean yeah like that that could be going anywhere i mean just like it's a party foul i mean jed get your pitch
Starting point is 00:03:49 a lot of people take strikes sure that's fine that's right that would be kind of funny if the commissioner of mlb was like okay it's gonna take three of these before we do anything yeah like you can't just have one strike big whoop yeah that's good. We've, it's been a while. How have we been? Uh, good. I feel like, um, yeah, a lot has transpired. Uh, if I could say that word. Yes, of course. Just for the, yeah. Yeah. Trans rights. Yes. A lot has transpired. And, um, uh, what if, what comes to mind, Brad, what was, what was a big thing you did this week? I went on vacation this week. That's right. Gulf Shores, Alabama. Um, it was, it was a vacation, but man, you know what it really was, Jake? It was a trip. It was a trip. Um, and honestly, like truly it was like a super, super fun trip, but it,
Starting point is 00:04:40 it, it was work. Um, we, I i think the the drive is supposed to be 14 hours i think it took us i think the first day we were in the car like off and on like our from start to finish 12 hours and i think the next day i mean it was another nine oh what is it what's um yeah having to stop all the time yeah we have to nurse we i have to nurse you can't nurse like mobily you can't just like you can just kind of shove it in there no so you oh because the baby shouldn't be in the front seat yeah for some reason i was thinking about catherine's health i was like is it dangerous like if you hit a bump or the baby the baby needs to be in a car seat no i got it now i got now initially i was just thinking about Catherine's health. I was like, is it dangerous? Like if you hit a bump or the baby needs to be in a car seat.
Starting point is 00:05:26 No, I got it now. I got now. Initially, I was just thinking about Catherine. It's not just the front seat. It's like you have to keep them in like seat belted in. Totally. Yeah. Yeah. Or Catherine just like we got a bar for her. She's just like she's like a gymnast. What are you? I'm like, I'm like imagining like she's on like one of those
Starting point is 00:05:41 bars from like a gymnastics thing. Oh, oh, I see. So Rose is still in the car seat and Catherine's on like one of those bars from like a gymnastics thing. Oh, oh, I see. So Rose is still in the car seat and Catherine's on a bar. You can't take a baby out of a car seat while you're driving 80 miles an hour down the road. Yeah. Catherine just kind of like setting up for it. I don't think I think the baby would be fine. What's kind of a pejorative term you sometimes hear for.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Throw the baby out with the bathwater. No. what's kind of a pejorative term you sometimes hear for throw the baby out with the bath water no uh look i don't think you're gonna be anywhere near what i'm saying sometimes i've heard yes a woman's uh you, natural feeders called airbags. Have you? And that would help. Airbags? That would help the baby. If anything, they're milk bags. The milk in my college.
Starting point is 00:06:36 There is no air in there. I mean. The milk in my college cafeteria came from milk bags. Milk bags. So I've heard that term plenty. And for whatever reason, I felt different every time I went and looked at those things yeah i wanted to call my mom just say thanks i got i got homesick every time i would have the chocolate milk uh the chocolate milk really yeah yeah that's a change of direction so my dad in college um he went to a university down in the inner city.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Anyway, you can't. So even if you were able to nurse with a bottle, you have to take out the baby halfway to burp the baby. Because they get too much gas in there. Have you considered not feeding the baby until you get to Gulf Shores? Like telling Rose, like, hey, you can eat when we get there. Well, the nice thing is that like with babies, they'll just be chill.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Like if you don't do stuff like that, they'll just be like, no problem, I'll just sleep and be good. You know? I bet that happens more than you think.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Even when you do the right things, I bet they are pretty chill. They are, yeah, all the time. Just so hungry, I'm tired. I'll just go to sleep.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's easy to do. They don't ever get overtired and then don't fall asleep. Exactly but i mean there was yeah so many conversations where it's like i think we can make it 45 more minutes and then five minutes later it's like okay we should pull over right now you know like it's time um so between that and we have it we had like the perfect storm of like nursing newborn and potty trained like older girl and so like between the two of them it was like every you know hour or two we were stopping for something
Starting point is 00:08:11 bo's in the sweet spot he just you know hang on all day yeah i thought about putting pull-ups on all of us like it's like hey it's fine like you yeah just wallow in it like if you're gonna do it just do it you know um but yeah yeah like the second day it was supposed to be like a five and a half hour trip but had he had to go to the bathroom like four times within like two hours like and of course you don't want to like like sorry hold it i don't think she's there yet i don't think she probably has to go i don't think she can hold it and i think if you tell her to hold it she will just release it even quicker she needs to go on a road trip with my dad and coach john because because I think they would, they would, you know, bully her into holding it. Yeah. That's how I grew
Starting point is 00:08:49 up. Yeah. You can figure it out. Yeah. Anyway. So, um, it was great. The, the road trip itself was fun. Did you have any cry ads in the car? We were close. I don't think Hattie was crying, but she was making a scene. Um, It was Catherine, Brad and Rose. Really? So yeah. All at the same time. Yeah. I don't think Catherine and I cried. I'll, I'll give Catherine a million points of credit, but also like.
Starting point is 00:09:14 How many five stars? Give her some, give her some grief as well. Some demerits. Like Catherine is such a roller coaster on road trips. Like she, like out of nowhere, like she just gets overstimulated and she just goes i'm getting anxious i'm getting stressed i'm getting stressed and i'm just like way more like it's okay you know i used to get stressed with her and now i'm just like i just kind of laugh at her i think i like the beauty of her being able to communicate it though that's nice at least like she knows exactly how she's feeling right and she's like hey just fyi it's come here it comes
Starting point is 00:09:41 it's like she needs to you know like the dominoes tracker when you put in like an order, you know, it's like it's in the oven. Here comes the anxiety. I'm feeling it. And here it comes. Yeah. Yeah. So she'll kind of, yeah, I'd be like, I'm getting there. I need, yeah, whatever. And then, you know, I like, whereas if I get there, I can't, I can't get away from it. Like I'm up there for a while. Okay. And she, you know, just two minutes later, she's good. And it's just amazing. And I kind of, I kind of respect it, but I'm also just like, just, just stay in the middle somewhere. Like just don't get so high or low. Just like be okay with, yeah. Our kids are going to cry sometimes. Hey, just, hey, Catherine, relax. Hey, no offense, but you're acting kind of, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:10:25 You're acting kind of irrational right now, okay? You seem a lot like your mom. Just chill. Calm down. Like, stop. Yeah, whatever. Bring up one of your ex-girlfriends. You know, she would have never acted like this.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Ashley would never. Come on. Between this and the feeding segment, Catherine's going to really enjoy the first 10 minutes of this podcast. Oh, man. Yeah, yeah. But anyway, Catherine was a true all-star. I need to make sure I say that as well because I was in charge of driving
Starting point is 00:10:57 the whole time, which is, it can be tiring to an extent, but she literally was climbing back into the back seat to hold Booulder hold bow's hand yeah put pacifiers back in rosie's mouth you know hold hattie's urine inside of her you know every hit was so amazing like hattie would drop something and she'd be like i dropped i dropped my pen and it's like she's in the third row it's like what do you think we're gonna do about like we can't just go back there easily, you know, whatever. But Catherine was an all star. Also, just the minivan, dude. I was going to ask.
Starting point is 00:11:30 The minivan. Was the Elite just the ultimate road trip machine? Truly, I can't imagine. Yeah, a better, a better vehicle. Like, there's no way. If you're listening to this in a Yukon, you know, XL Denali, you're in denial. Like, you think it's better? You're in denial. You're in denial. Like you think it's better? You're in denial.
Starting point is 00:11:45 You're in denial. We got it. We got it. They should call it the denial, the UConn denial. They just rearrange a few words. You don't have the right car, Ali. Yeah, you buy that in Chinatown
Starting point is 00:11:54 in New York City. Like, I'll give it to you for half price. You know? UConn denial. It says denial on there. Who is Louis Vuitton? You know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:12:05 So anyway, all in all, we, we stopped. I told you about one of the two places. So Scott, maybe this will be a game for you. We stopped in two at two different American icon childhood homes.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Can you guess either of them? One of them was in Missouri. Would you have been able to guess it? Scott would never guess it. Actually. I'll just tell you. No. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:23 You're kidding. The first one is, this is the most Catherine thing. Thanks for letting me try though. You wanna try it? Go. No, I don't wanna try. Rapid fire. Famous Missourians.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Can you give me like the industry that made them famous? Yes. Too late, Brad, tell them. Literature. Mark Twain. She was a famous author. Nope, nothing. Laura Ingalls Wilder, do you even know who that is?
Starting point is 00:12:43 Don't know who that is. Ever heard of a little show called "'Little House the prairie ah i have heard or the book yeah famous author uh so anyway we went to her childhood home got on the way there and on the way back because on the way there we were like we shouldn't stop for the whole tour on the way back katherine's like we gotta stop for this gotta stop for her she's like she's like when are we gonna go past this again and i told you this like i was like i mean every single time we drive to the beach and katherine goes we're never making this drive again really and i was like whatever you know whatever do you think that was a that was a you know closed mindset in the moment like this is going poorly we're
Starting point is 00:13:21 never doing this again i think that's probably next summer rolls around i think you have a little half and half for sure like okay let's go back yeah yeah it's one of those things where it's like you don't remember the bad times even now i'm like the trip was fine um so and then in mississippi any any guesses where we stopped in mississippi elvis birthplace that's right actually yeah i nailed it tupelo tupelo mississippi we stayed overnight there and then the next morning we went to his little two bedroom. No, two room. Tupelo room. Tupelo.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Yeah. Two pillows. Two room house. And that was kind of cool too. Just thinking about Elvis being like coming from nothing and going there. So. Yeah. That was fun.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And then the actual trip was great. So I told you whenever that was fun. And then the actual trip was great. So, um, I told you, uh, whenever that was Tuesday, when we hung out, um, that Catherine's family does up the, they do up the beach, right. They, they bring, we bring like these four big, easy up pop-up tents and like connect them together on the beach and they got music going. They got, you know, 15 different Yeti coolers down there and like you know cornhole and everything else so it was a lot of fun and the kids were so into it like i think we went to the beach two or three years ago maybe before we did this podcast i can't remember but hattie was like so terrified of the
Starting point is 00:14:35 sand like like refused to even like touch the sand with her feet wow and so we're like what's she gonna be like is she gonna still be that way bow is it kind of the same age as haddy was when is he gonna be that way and like beau couldn't care less or yeah could not care less like was like literally eating sandwiches with sand in them like literal sandwiches and haddy was loving it making you know sand castles and everything and it was it was awesome it was yeah the whole thing was great so and while you're there you filmed a jean shorts video and while i was there yeah which is great yeah we tried to help you you were there, you filmed a G-Torts video. And while I was there, yeah. Which is great. Yeah. We tried to help you, you know, we kind of wrote a video for you. Conservative dad goes on vacation. Yep. And I'm sure you thought of plenty of stuff there. Yeah. Yeah. I think I mentioned like to most of the people in the
Starting point is 00:15:15 family, like the first couple of days I was like, Hey, I'm going to film this video about, you know, dad's on vacation. So if you can think of anything your dad did or, you know, whatever. And so the whole week people would be like, Oh, that's a funny thing. Put that in there. You know, that's great. Some of them were like,
Starting point is 00:15:28 we'll see. Yeah. Yeah. Catherine's got one cousin. He's so funny, but he would say things. I'm like, that's a little,
Starting point is 00:15:38 they weren't like inappropriate. They were just not very funny. But a lot of things it was like, you know, I think her dad even was like, why are you guys watching a movie? You can do that at home. Yeah. Oh, that's going in the video and then as we were filming it we were down on the beach um so i filmed it with katherine's brother who's also really really good at um video stuff and we were filming it in uh katherine's dad who's a pretty goofy fun guy like decided like as we're filming to like come over and like talk
Starting point is 00:16:05 and like try to like be another dad in the video. I can't wait to see this. It's going to be great because to the, to the layman, to the, you know, unsuspecting person, it's going to look like some random redneck kind of looking guy came up to me on the beach and just started like, you know, spouting stuff off, you know, seeing that I was filming this video. So that's what we need to go see is when this video comes out to comment like love the random guy yeah yeah can't believe that that guy just came up to you out of nowhere and it really was like unplanned like i didn't expect him to do it but yeah obviously uh he's my father-in-law so i knew him but uh he's a pretty funny dude anyway so do you get the kids involved in the in the shots and everything yeah i'm trying to remember
Starting point is 00:16:42 how much we we had you didn't really want to be in it. But a few times I would like say things or whatever. I think Sam kind of pans over to him. So I kind of feel bad for whoever's going to edit it because I'm like, there's probably way too much footage of this. You know, compared to Derek, Derek keeps up so tight of like 20 seconds,
Starting point is 00:16:59 probably at most. I feel like Sam just kept filming, which is great to an extent. But I was like, okay, you rolling? He's like, oh yeah, I've been going this whole time. I was like, oh, okay. Oh, wow. I'll just Sam just kept filming, which is great to an extent, but I was like, I was like, okay, you roll in. He's like, oh yeah, I've been, I've been going this whole time. I was like, oh, okay. I'll just do it again. Yeah. So he did a great job, but, um, yeah, overall, hopefully it's really good. Yeah. You said you liked that one clip that I was in. Yeah. I clicked through a couple of stuff and it was great. I really wanted to find the only joke that I can remember writing for this, um, video was something about like, let's build a sandcastle and make
Starting point is 00:17:24 Mexico pay for it or something like that. Yeah. I was worried you were going to say one of the ones I didn't put in there. I was like, oh, crap. Crap. No, yeah. I was like, yeah, let's build a sandcastle, put a moat around it, make Mexico.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I don't think I even said Mexico. No, I did. I did say Mexico was going to pay for it. Last or this past Tuesday when we recorded, we were doing another one. I was like, and you know who's going to pay for it? And I looked at something for the boomer one but anyway yeah it was awesome I can tell more stories but I want to hear about your time
Starting point is 00:17:52 my time at the beach was non-existent really yeah it wasn't the same you don't have many beaches in Iowa no but and I didn't get to we talked about maybe going down to the pond you know running down to scuzz and back right that was in the closest thing i got to a beach and um never
Starting point is 00:18:09 got to see scuzz he saw his cloud of fleas around yeah it looked like a storm cloud was uh up ahead but you'd been to their house before yes never in good weather, though. It was nice. Really seeing the Iowa fields come to life. Yeah. Kind of. But so, yeah, I was fun. Did some just ton of sports with the family. Love that pickleball golf. Let's be honest for a second real quick. How much better or worse are you at the sports than her brother? Like, do you kind of dominate?
Starting point is 00:18:42 No, they're they're like equally athletic and i feel like there's no way they're equally who's better somebody who's winning the game somebody's winning this thing just just just like do you win okay let's say if rachel and i are playing pickleball yeah rachel and i would win in pickleball but that's because i have put in a lot of hours towards pickleball so it sounds like you're better. I know they're all equally as athletic. I've just put in more time like pickleball Yeah Okay, now right that hey Scott said the best good better best Merch is out right now good best better good best better merch is out right now. Yeah, I came out with some new merch
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yeah, embroidered designs for a few different things with comfort colors and the one that's the best seller right now yeah we came out with some new merch uh yeah embroidered designs for a few different things with comfort colors and the one that's the best seller right now by far good best better is it really yeah let me check it out i didn't even know you guys released it's not life scott yeah yeah what's the website one more time most runners dot life l-i-f-e yeah what if i told you it populated the rest as soon as i typed gh what and i would say why do you want me to tell you again why do you need me to say it then dude just figure it out yeah auto populate you can still buy tickets to f12 yeah i know sorry click here just keep reminding people yeah f12 remember um yeah so it's so fun to play whatever sport when we're up there. Golf was a blast.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I actually played quite a bit of golf up there. But the final day was, I think there were eight of us all on one tee time. So it just looked like a convoy, just a fleet, just four golf carts. No, but Grandma Flory is a member and I think she runs the place. She seemed in charge. And so it was just fun to see this all like, you you know scurry around the golf course together at the same time and uh we all weekend long we were trying to figure out like what would be like the most fair teams and what we decided on clearly jake's number one it sounds like in this family was old versus young so it was me rachel's dad rachel's mom rachel's grandma on
Starting point is 00:20:38 the team so it's 30 and older versus like 29 and younger so you're in the old group in this yeah this is in the old group. It was awesome. So I was riding around with different members of their family all day. And yeah, that was really fun. And I know I talked about this wedding on Correct Opinions. I don't know what the crossover is,
Starting point is 00:20:55 like what the Venn diagram is, but you said you didn't listen to Correct Opinions. You don't know what I said. So I think I should tell you. I haven't listened to this yet, yeah. So Rachel, I went to a wedding one day. Is that why the, like the reason you guys were there or just kind of happenstance?
Starting point is 00:21:10 I guess it was. Yeah. I think it was just like, it made sense to go anyway, more of the weekend, whatever. But yeah, maybe we were going to the wedding anyway.
Starting point is 00:21:18 I don't know. Okay. Go ahead. Sorry. Right off the bat. Um, gosh, this was like forever ago.
Starting point is 00:21:24 This is crazy. This is is like i'm having to really reach back i'm like there's only one episode ago technically um got a busy life got a good life got a good life um but just that there were all sorts of like very unique things uh about this wedding um oh my gosh i just heard something else rachel lost her voice for like two days i forgot about that sorry this whole episode is gonna maybe like oh my god oh that happened yeah memories are just like floating down the ceiling into jake's dude this feeling of like dude that was a week ago that feels like so long ago that's how i feel about every single memory i ever had it's like i don't know if this was a week ago or last you know month so anyway
Starting point is 00:21:59 okay so who's this wedding for uh like the bride is a girl that rachel played volleyball with okay um great folks great people um enjoyed getting to meet them but wedding for? Like the bride is a girl that Rachel played volleyball with. Okay. Great folks, great people. Enjoyed getting to meet them. But really the star of the show is that the groom's brother is a TikTok star. Okay, so I saw a few people comment about this TikTok guy on Correct Opinions because I was watching it yesterday. But yeah, go ahead. But I don't know anything about it.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Okay, gotcha. Yeah. So I obviously have no clue. So the brother. So he's a's a groomsman yes groomsman and best man oh gave quite the speech um but basically it was just fascinating because like you see these type of people online pretty often like a very like la looking and like you know you get that vibe just like very like like you don't live here yeah yeah you're trying and you never get to meet the people like that like you never get to meet so this guy blew up on tiktok for basically being hot and dancing does it check out yeah totally
Starting point is 00:22:55 yeah totally no like a babe yeah i even said when we first got there i pointed out his girlfriend like that's not scuzz right if that's because then he used you know a fertility doctor and something got mixed up uh because that's not his dna you saw his girlfriend you're like yeah that's definitely that guy's girlfriend i didn't even say that guy it was like at the very beginning of the day uh i was just like she looks like she's famous i don't know why and rachel's like that's funny she's dating like this tiktok star i was like you could just tell like there's just like a look people have. An aura. Yeah. It's like they just are well put together.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Anyway. People say that about us, I think, all the time. You think? I think so. Yeah. I walk into Chick-fil-A or 7-Eleven or something, you know, like these really classy places. And they're like, that guy looks a little bit better than us. Dude, Chick-fil-A just reminded me.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Let's put a bookmark at Chick-fil-A. Something else happened. Okay. Let me just get off of this story. Basically, the wedding is interesting like all the groups that are wearing like uh velvet gold jackets um the whole velvet gold velvet love that this is gold colored uh indoor wedding okay velvet jackets and black everything else gold shiny gold or like um yeah pretty shiny it's like gold colored okay cool and velvet i like it like suede kind of um
Starting point is 00:24:07 elvis would be proud oh he would love it he would have worn it yeah so it's cool it's definitely different you know i complain a lot about how all weddings are the same i got what i wanted on this one this one was just fascinating um but anyway yeah this tiktok star he was just like so interesting and um yeah his speech was just riddled with like inside jokes that no one knew. That was good. He also started it off. So, Brad, would you agree that when giving a public speech, the first 30 seconds are extremely important to maybe win the crowd over potentially?
Starting point is 00:24:42 Sure. Maybe don't make them all mad. So that's what this guy does. He goes, all right, before i get up here and say a few things about the happy couple um why don't you guys go ahead and stand up on your feet so it's like okay wow this is about to be really formal or it's got to be you know we're gonna sing star spangled banner or something okay and he goes all right now that you're all standing y'all go ahead and sit back down that's the power of the mic baby and you could just like hear you can hear people like groaning this guy hurt his brother grandma gene like gets up from her walk 30 seconds you just took six years off my life honey
Starting point is 00:25:20 i can stand up three times a day. I just hit my quota. I'm done. I'm not getting back up here for that. You know, dance. Sorry. So that was just like,
Starting point is 00:25:38 Ooh, you know, bold move. Not sure if I would've done that. Just a big groaner. Yeah. And then five other times, probably four to five times throughout the rest of the speech, he would like, something would happen.
Starting point is 00:25:46 He'd be like, that's just the power of the mic. And just getting no reaction from anyone. I was like, oh, he knows it. Support mic. At this point, I have no idea what this guy is famous for. Just different people, as they meet me or learn what I do, they tell me like, oh, do you know about so-and-so? Like he's TikTok famous.
Starting point is 00:26:07 And I ask every person, I say like, what is he famous for? And they're like, he's a, he's an influencer. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. What's anybody famous for on TikTok? Doing nothing and looking pretty good doing it. Yeah. That's how everyone gets a following on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:26:21 I should have, I shouldn't have asked, but they're like, I'm like, what's like his brand? And they're like, he'd like, um, well, like he, like he, I know he lives in like a, like a hype house type thing in Miami. Oh, oh, oh, that's awesome. Hey, sound like that was needless to say. Needless to say anymore. I got it. Great.
Starting point is 00:26:39 You know, I never figured out what this guy did, but, or not until like the end of the night. But so the speech is really bad um just telling jokes it's like no one gets it and it's like you know and then i was like maybe we should go get some cheez-its the only one i can remember six people are like what excuse me didn't get that one and then if cheeses aren't enough how about some
Starting point is 00:27:11 mellow yellow I don't get it it's like what are you talking about bro that could be a merch idea for a podcast power the mic i like over the microphone yeah power the mic rachel would love it rachel said power the mic 19 times the rest of the weekend oh yeah she loved power the mic um the only inside joke i actually remember him saying it was like i remember back to the day like we grew up and we were talking and like we were in the basement in the basement in the basement in the basement let's go crazy grandma
Starting point is 00:27:57 let me hear you power the mic eugene come on stand up that was when i was like i don't know is this a song or is this like, I don't know. Remember that, you know, Chingy song back in the day in the basement? That was good. Fabulous song. So this guy just bombs. So that one, yeah, did not go well for a guy who like has all the charisma in the world. Like so much confidence looks, cannot emphasize enough, looks so good.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Yeah. But it just, you know, just cannot command a crowd. Smells like an Abercrombie model probably. Probably. Yeah. Fierce. so good yeah but it just you know just cannot command a crowd smells like an abercrombie model probably probably yeah fierce um or jake by holster you ever have that no i love that it was my name because it smelled great oh good yeah i was an axe body spray guy you were no i know what you were you were um dang it what was it called the green bottle you love that it's called mormon spray it was called Joseph Smith sent It got you a lot of girls
Starting point is 00:29:05 It was from another planet No, what was it called? You know what I'm talking about? The green one? It doesn't matter. We'll talk about it later. Okay, so this guy looked great. Charisma out the wazoo. There's plenty of stuff we need to talk about this episode.
Starting point is 00:29:17 So I'm not even getting into some of the other parts. The main, the last thing I need to say about this, last two things I need to say about this wedding is, it's like we've done the first dances, but we're not quite like cutting the cake and eating it yet we're kind of just chilling they're finishing up dinner and the groups would all leave we're all talking yada yada then love me sexy by jackie moon comes on remember that song from semi-pro i don't remember the song very well i kind of remember like it's kind of a chill song right yeah so that comes on and they sit the bride down in the middle of everyone um yeah just in the middle of everyone they sit the bride down in the middle of everyone yeah all the grooms
Starting point is 00:29:51 would come out they've taken off the jackets they've kind of changed into like black like uh sleeveless shirts or like wife beaters or whatever and a lot of college football players they're looking good sure oh a chiefs player it's a groomsman you remember in the group chat when i was like gunner you want me to say anything to drees fountain oh that was why you said yeah he was a groomsman yeah oh wow so wide receiver that makes more sense yeah skill position skill special teams this isn't no right guard it's baseball season we're talking about football and so they all come out there to love me sexy and then they start doing a choreographed dance to the bride okay i've seen like versions of this before kind of tell you what i hadn't seen before
Starting point is 00:30:31 is the best man brother the bride tiktok star hottie hottie taking the initiative uh out of seemingly nowhere to rip off his shirt yeah we saw it coming i was gonna say tarps coming off right when he said the shirts i was like somebody's taking that off yeah but no one else takes their shirt off it's not a part of the dance or he's just like by far the hottest guy here is now strip teasing for his sister-in-law cool with i don't know 250 people watching yeah i'm not kidding i got up out of my seat to get a closer look everyone was sitting down like pretty scarred i stood up and went closer he's like like this is awesome someone got a really funny video of me like watching it i don't have it but uh it was amazing i mean think about that think about like yeah dancing for one of
Starting point is 00:31:16 catherine's sisters you but not being funny about it but not being funny about it you don't think he was being funny about it dude no this is a guy you think he was like he was trying to be seductive dude like yes magic mike yeah i thought he was like hey let's be goofy i mean i don't think so like really he and the groom are brothers yeah i thought it was like hey i'm gonna like razz my brother real fast and like kind of dance for my new sister-in-law. Which is just a weird thing to say out loud, but still like. Yeah, that's awkward. Okay, so he's like serious about it.
Starting point is 00:31:52 I think he just knows he's hot. And it was like any chance to take my shirt off. Like, let's show everyone what it looks like. And most importantly, let's show Katie. Yeah, yeah. She needs to see it. Let's show Katie what she's going to be missing later with marrying my brother. So dude, it was just fascinating.
Starting point is 00:32:09 And that's what I said. Like I got what I wanted. I got a unique wedding. It was awesome. Did you see him do any TikToks in the wild? Like as they were walking down the aisle, was he like. Well, so since then we've seen several TikToks come of the wedding day. I never saw them take place, but he made several that day.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Okay. I could show you so you could see the gold jackets if you want. I'd be interested. Maybe put it in here. Is that too complicated? Justin's out this week. Justin's out this week. He's on the IR.
Starting point is 00:32:36 No, but... So, yeah, I'm sure he made some. Maybe they've still not come out. You know, I don't know. Good for him, stockpiling those things. Yeah. Backloading. Backlog for him stockpiling those things. Yeah, backloading, backlogging. Here they are. Oh.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Oh. I like that. This guy looks different than I thought. He's a hot looking dude though, huh? Yeah. He looks like Egyptian to me. He looks like Xerxes in 300. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Okay. Sure. A little Persian. Yeah. How did the jackets, how would you describe the jackets? Yeah. Yeah. Like gold suede in 300. Yeah. Okay. Sure. A little Persian. Yeah. How did the jackets, how would you describe the jackets? Yeah. Like, yeah. Like gold suede.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Gold suede. Those kind of look velvety though. Yeah. Those are nice. They're almost like animal print looking in that.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Were they, were like two-toned or was it, was that just the way that looked? I have no idea. You know how when you like. You don't know if it like looks like white and not white? Oh, no. It's just gold all around. Yeah. You know how when you like swipe suede a certain direction and course i do of course i know about suede swipe suede swipe
Starting point is 00:33:27 you don't all have performance couches but i know what suede is like yeah that's yeah yeah that's how the performance couch works yeah yeah yeah uh okay very last thing i love that i was not even playing on time with this like i already talked about on a podcast two weeks ago and now i'm like let me take about 20 minutes on this podcast i'm gonna get this one too um very end of the night rachel and I are about to leave. And then he comes up to me, he goes, dude,
Starting point is 00:33:48 I wanted to introduce myself. I heard you're a comedian. And I was like, Oh, what's up? I was, I mean, kind,
Starting point is 00:33:54 you know, whatever. Clearly the second hottest guy in this room. You know, I was like, Oh, I was like, I don't know who told you that.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Not, that's not really the case, but nice to meet you. Okay. Let me interrupt. It is the case. You think, I don't know. It just feels like it's not really the case but nice to meet you okay let me interrupt it is the case you think i don't know it just feels like it's not okay okay yes you do other things besides being i'm a woodworker but i also do other things i'm still a woodworker woodworker is like the your main trade like the main way you make money comedian is not the main way that i make money
Starting point is 00:34:20 why what is you make people laugh like uh that's what a comedian does i guess i just say like a stand-up comedian that's like on the road all the time like they only do stand-up comedy you're not a stand-up comedian you're a comedian oh okay you're in my head they were linked they are kind of but i'm trying to get them unlinked there yeah because everything you do is related multifaceted comedian regardless i don't think i'm ever yeah it's gonna be a long time before i'm comfortable enough to say like yep that's me comedian on deck you need a joke that's me you know i'm just like oh you know kind of yeah um and so he's like dude you guys uh do you ever do stuff on tiktok and i was like oh i mean it's not like a main like but yeah we make videos and
Starting point is 00:35:00 yeah we'll post them to tiktok it was verbatim, dude, you don't even know. I have 3 million followers on TikTok. You don't even know. That's funny. I could not believe that. Here I am trying to defend like, I'm not, I'm not a comedian. I am not. And he's like, dude, I am the man.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Let me. I am the man. Boost myself real quick. Yeah. And you're like, dude, you don't even know. I've performed like in a hundred different shows in the last year. So I guess I am kind of a comedian. Pretty boy.
Starting point is 00:35:29 You don't even know. You don't even know. That's funny. So I just kind of let him talk. He said we should collab. I said, for sure. The collab, that's like the adult influencer version of like college hangout. Like, dude, we should hang out sometime.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Oh my gosh, yes. Oh, yes, dude. Yeah, for sure. No, for sure. Next time in Miami. All right, man all right man i'll see you later okay next time i'm at a high house in miami yeah we exchanged no contact information whatsoever he doesn't know my last name yet we had plans to collab okay you know like in what world is this ever gonna happen i like the idea of you know talking about the different ways to start sentences you don't even know it should be the way that we do it by bragging about ourselves you don't even know you don't even know dude i drove like 28 hours in like two days
Starting point is 00:36:07 you don't even know like my kids all love me like they say i'm a good dad to me i know that you don't even know you don't even know we figured out how to mobile feed yeah i don't know what that means. Mobile feed. The airbags. Airbags. Oh. I was thinking like streaming or podcast, mobile, I don't know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:36:31 It's okay. You don't even know. You literally, you don't even know what's going on. You don't even know what mobile feeding is. I don't even know
Starting point is 00:36:36 what you're talking about, dude. Dude, Catherine and I, quick tangent on mobile feeding. We did think like if there is a way to figure out how to do this, we would make so much money
Starting point is 00:36:44 on Shark Tank. Think about when like, like siphoning. I think we were thinking about like a siphon. It would have felt like a tube. Like a big straw. Yeah, big tube.
Starting point is 00:36:52 You know those like airplanes that can refuel in midair? That's basically a woman's body. Something like that. Yeah. Catherine's the C-130. I want to have another van come up, pull up really close to you guys you open up the side door and then um rose gets fed okay you're like i don't know the next 15 steps so uh and
Starting point is 00:37:15 then bro i don't even know you don't even know because i don't know what happens next dude i do want to brag real quick about myself just since we are doing go start Start it with a sense. What don't we know about you? Dude, you don't even know. We should have a segment called, You Don't Even Know. You get to say one and we get to brag about ourselves. Like prideful thing about yourself, but it has to start with,
Starting point is 00:37:32 you don't even know. Hattie last week, or whenever it was, maybe five months ago, I don't know. She said, Dad, the best part of every day is when you come home from work.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Whoa. I don't know if she like was fed that line, but if not, I was blown away. I was like, like wow that is the sweetest thing so whoa you don't even know i didn't know that yeah i'll get back to you whenever i think of my i couldn't i don't even know yeah i was like that was the sweetest thing i've ever heard that's amazing so yeah she thinks i'm the fun parent which is true yeah um but i need to like she's always like dad you're so fun I'm like you know I'm really like a spiritual leader and intentional to
Starting point is 00:38:08 write how do you like you see me like that too you know it's not like the fun dad there's like yeah you're fine I was like okay cool like but your mom's fun too right right not like you dad okay well kind of the conversation I feel like how do you're kind of pitting us against each other right now you could even the playing field that that'd be great. Your mom's about to get anxious. Coming out of the oven. Here it comes.

Starting point is 00:39:50 The phenomenon returns to Paramount+. The only way we go home is together. From new season now streaming exclusively on Paramount+. Okay, well, I'm glad you had so much fun. Yeah, I think you should just have in your back pocket. Anytime, anytime anybody brags about their Tik TOK followers, you, you know, you bring out like a pamphlet from, so I'm sure they had pamphlets. I'd like a one sheet of just things I've done. Yeah. Dude, you don't even know.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Dude, I don't think you can truly say you're like an entertainer until you get headshots done of yourself. Okay. I feel like that's like a thing that like true like comedians and actors and stuff have you know what i mean not anymore probably like more back in the day yeah i feel like the true actors out of the world like have like these like ridiculous looking headshots dude i felt like a true actor yesterday i cannot wait for that female translator or translator video to come out um yeah it was so fun because we were how rarely do we ever like shoot dialogue it's more of like one-liners or whatever yeah and this was like all three of us in a scene 30 seconds at a time without breaking without cutting you know memorizing lines or anything
Starting point is 00:40:54 it just felt so fun so i hope we could get to do more of those you want to explain it or you just want to see i think they'll just keep them in the dark and they're like all right this sounds fun please explain no um ghost hunters you guys don't even know um we came up with a video idea where um you know lindsey is kind of a like the opening shot is like hi my name is lindsey and i work as a female translator quick cut to me and morgan in a scene where i'm like how are you doing and she's like i'm fine like oh great great cool how do you know know why i asked great buffoon of a guy just like it takes everything out of your world yeah she's not fine yeah um so just a bunch of different scenarios where you would need a female translator and uh yeah it turned out well
Starting point is 00:41:37 yeah i think there's so many iterations that we could do if the first one does even moderately well you know you could do like a guy version or you could do a girl version before they've really hit it off and you know yeah marriage yeah yeah fun um can we talk oh sorry you guys don't know when you mentioned i was gonna say on uh the in the vein of girls got mild uh that text thread oh yeah yeah okay so i i yeah i girls got a mile, but that's about the extent Jake and Trey are way more like producing, directing, acting sometimes. Um, but anyway, I'm in the group chat for it. And it was when I was on vacation, it was when I was driving and I just saw all these things. And I finally just go, Catherine, you got to read this. Let me preface it with something.
Starting point is 00:42:20 So when Brad and I started Jean shorts alongside T alongside trey you know i was already full time with trey and brad you know has a somewhat flexible schedule working for himself more than most people probably so we were able to make things work pretty pretty easily we're able to like you know make things where even last minute sometimes and so i'll give the girls a little you know benefit not even benefit the doubt just like things are different with the girls like they have they work for other people sure it's not going to be as easy so maybe we went into it having higher expectations and and like yeah in weeks past like it's been like oh actually i can't do that i have a work meeting whatever can we do it you know earlier or later or something it's like that makes sense no problem no problem and so but things have been building a
Starting point is 00:43:01 little bit like everything keeps coming like lindsey since we started girls gone mild but you guys know what maybe two months into it l Let's he's already gone on two vacations Lizzie's been to like Mexico maybe I think Morgan's been to Guatemala and then Lindsay also went to somewhere else Which we'll get into Morgan has has quit her old job and started a new one like there's been a lot of transition Yeah, but anyway, there's a little context into like this text thread sorry morgan i know you listen to ghost runners no it's trying to it's fun they're gonna laugh along with us and if not just chill out just freaking relax okay so trey says girls when are you free next week wednesday 2 30 morgan i have tuesdays at
Starting point is 00:43:41 2 30 blocked off which we've been doing Wednesdays you know but whatever it's fine uh but then Lindsay so so Morgan's Tuesdays 2 30 uh Lindsay says with Memorial Weekend I'm gone through Tuesday but I also work Wednesday Thursday at the spray tan place at 350 good to get a third job during this smart yeah just just diversify yourself then Lindsay also says every other week I'm fine for Tuesday just with Memorial weekend, I was going to be gone. Morgan, are you able to do like 11 or 12, you think? Jake says, Jake responds, my favorite part of Memorial Day has always been celebrating it until Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:44:18 And Lindsay said, ha ha ha. Well, I don't want to be like driving home on my day off. That's not a fun way to spend it. That's literally how everyone spends it. You get an extra day and you drive home on monday yeah you yeah or part of it part of the day it doesn't have to be the whole day that's what i did and uh yeah and then morgan kind of responds to previous texts and then he says much rather take my company's time to drive home sounds like a dfa employee so trey says let's lock in tuesdays 2 30 moving forward for next week morgan would wednesday morning anytime work whatever uh morgan it would have to be after a meeting that gets done at 11
Starting point is 00:44:52 unless you want to do it before my 10 30 meeting which you guys would never you know that's too early uh something like 12 12 12 to 2 30 work trey says yes that works morgan says and she goes well sorry now i need to think about that because i've just gotten a puppy the night before and jake just responded goes my goodness it's so hard to figure out a time and uh yeah let's see and i think that was and then morgan said sorry i was just kind of banking on a regular time uh so anyway it was just and then finally you guys figured out morgan was gonna do one day lindsey did another day yeah we split them up it just cracked me up like the difference yeah like i don't think we've ever really had too many issues even when we have issues it's like okay let's just do this day like whatever that's
Starting point is 00:45:37 fine trey's like oh yeah i got a haircut so let's wait you know or oh i need to post some stuff here like okay no problem like uh and with them it's just so much it's just different it's just different uh so but the my goodness just cracked me up that reminds me that's what like catherine when she was reading them back she goes she started laughing i go are you reading my goodness yeah it was how i felt rachel has given us a lot of credit uh when talking to me about like our gene shorts group text or whatever like I'll just share with her like what's going on or like we're asking Derek to do this or whatever and she's like that is amazing the way
Starting point is 00:46:10 you guys are able to communicate with each other and I'm like yeah I'm like wait what you mean like English or needless to say honestly Derek yeah you guys only use emojis no words yeah it's actually pretty it's hieroglyphic really I think she's just shocked she's like girls could not do what you guys are doing just being like brutally honest with like
Starting point is 00:46:28 hey i didn't think this part was funny can you take this part out she's like if she's like if this was the volleyball group chat if you said this to the group i'd be getting a text individually from her i'd be getting a text individually from her but can you believe she said that she doesn't like this part of this really you know whereas we're just like i think we're all on the same page like trying to make the best video possible and i do think we do a good job i think specifically you do a good job of like being very kind and encouraging and saying like this is what i think we should do like like i don't think you're just like like i don't think you're ever brutally honest i would never use that term that's probably true yeah i can't help i mean i cushion everything you gotta sandwich
Starting point is 00:47:01 it right you know good bad good like if you think it's good, you'll be like, that looks awesome. And I'll just won't respond. Yeah, you'll be like, cool. Or, you know, like the message, you know, whatever. I don't know. But yeah, that's cool. I'm glad.
Starting point is 00:47:14 It is fun. Like, I think Derek's definitely the least assertive out of all of us. You know, he's more like whatever. Have we talked on the podcast before that he let those people, his clients call him Archer all day, just never corrected him. It's not like whatever. Have we talked on the podcast before that he let those people, his clients call him Archer all day, just never corrected him.
Starting point is 00:47:28 It's not his name. Yeah. His company is called Archer Video. And yeah, so people thought his name was Archer. Archer, over here. He's like, yes, sir. What's up? I like it.
Starting point is 00:47:41 You got me right here. Archer. You got Archer. I like that. You know, I went to Derek's house yesterday. Oh got me right here. Archer. You got Archer. I like that. You know, I went to Derek's house yesterday. Oh, up in Liberty.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Dude, it was like a 50 minute drive home after I went to his house. Yeah, it's crazy. It is up there. My cousins grew up in Liberty. And so we would go up there all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:57 Yeah. Nice area. It is a long drive. Yeah. Long drive. Yeah. But I went up there to get my, the footage.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Cause I'm going to edit my own special. And anyway, just now finally like had to buy, had to spend $250. Needless to say the currency, right? I don't really need to say the currency. I just spent $250 for a hard drive. And anyway, went up there, just kind of transferred the footage
Starting point is 00:48:23 and started looking at it last night. Dude, it's so so cool i think sitting down to edit my own stand-up special was a more of an emotional moment than even like going out on stage there's something weird about like seeing like myself doing what you see when i grew up watching brian regan do or daniel taught like it was weird seeing it look exactly like that but it's me yeah it's what i thought of in the shower you know that's it like it's crazy it was a really weird you're like i thought it isn't like a really like the the bathroom was like sinking into isaac's shop it was gross i thought it was drunk i'm a normal guy you know but i'm doing these things like yeah i yeah it was very i bet well i bet like correct me if i'm wrong but i'm i would imagine like on the stage eventually it's just like yeah i'm on stage here i am
Starting point is 00:49:02 or like even like if i do something like that most of the time i just try not to think about it too much or else i will get nervous and so i'm just like i'm just gonna go out there and do it like yeah but then you see yourself you know i because derrick showed us like a five minute clip of yeah yeah and yeah it was like this is like a big deal like this is huge whoa whoa yeah so anyway uh yeah so that was really fun so how far into the edit are you? I, you know, I might upload something to Patreon. I exported like the first 60 seconds to be able to show my parents and Rachel. Just like I was so excited about last night.
Starting point is 00:49:33 But yeah, maybe I'll show it up on Patreon or something. So the first 60 seconds done. Nice. That took 45 minutes. How many cameras did he have? He had like five, eight. Wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:41 So the computer struggles a little bit. You know, it's eight cameras going all at once in 4K. and so i have to watch it back at 1 16th of the quality so i'm watching this thing i mean i am barely recognizable you're on channel three you know like you're like we got a bunch of blocks yeah it's like i'm looking at minecraft yeah you're like original nintendo over here like 8-bit mario yeah um but that's how i have to do it and it's fine but uh yeah it's really cool i'm excited and um it was exciting i was gonna say oh the chick-fil-a thing real quick um so on the way back from iowa all we get tossed around in this crate not tossed around hold on that's not the phrase we get we are driving through this crazy storm get hailed on
Starting point is 00:50:22 you've been hailed on while driving. I don't know if I have, it is one of the louder experiences a human can feel. I think. Yeah. Um, so really loud, but it's like, what are you going to do? It,
Starting point is 00:50:32 you know, just, it's either going to hurt the car or not. Um, get done. Uh, Oh, saw a big old rainbow.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I was loving it a little too much. I think Rachel's a little worried with pride month coming up. Yeah. Um, but love the rainbow. And then I had a different Halix where I was sitting at chick-fil-a two days ago another just crazy store pops up out of nowhere starts hailing like crazy i'm inside the chick-fil-a so it was fine but um like pandemonium is going on not like puddle city pandemonium but it was just like
Starting point is 00:50:57 crazy like all the drive-thru workers are like trying to sprint in but they can't get the door open it was like a tornado they can't get the door open oh it was like too windy it was too windy it was like pushing the door in so like everyone's like iwo jima like pushing the door you know like pushing the flag up yeah i'm just like kind of watching all this happen like oh this is crazy and um was that that was the correct iwo jima and uh yeah so like hail when they finally get the door open all this hail was coming into chick fil-a then they can't get the door closed and so then people are trying to yank it back everyone's getting soaked whatever this police officer pulls up so the hail has been lasting about two minutes it's just like really loud like there's one of those like it's enough of a phenomenon no one's
Starting point is 00:51:35 eating anymore and we're just like watching oh like whoa this is a big storm yeah this is great this is loud how big is this hill the hill isn't that big but it's just like all glass on one side of the chick-fil-a so just so loud against it this police officer pulls up in the middle of storm and decides like now's a good time to to run in um i'm not gonna wait this out of my car he's caught yeah so he runs in dude nothing compared to the academy and he gets in and there's hail everywhere just eats it just slips two feet up high, just boom on the ground. And everyone at Chick-fil-A is like, ooh! Yikes! Yowz!
Starting point is 00:52:11 Ooh! Dude, then the door gets like flowing open again while he's in there. Dude, a bird flies in Chick-fil-A. So now we got a cop on the ground. We got a bird flying around Chick-fil-A. I didn't even write this down. See, I'm a bad podcaster.
Starting point is 00:52:23 And it wasn't until you said Chick-fil-A that I was like, oh yeah, something happened to me a couple of days ago. Bird is flying around Chick-fil-a i can't i didn't even write this down see i'm a bad podcaster and it wasn't until you said chick-fil-a i was like oh yeah something happened to me a couple days ago bird is flying around chick-fil-a um and it was awesome only lasted like three or four minutes but around that time rachel was like how's it going are you productive i was like let me tell you what's going on i am not productive and uh oh isaac's here to tell a story let's go uh okay i'm excited for this just like i i was at Chick-fil-A the other day. Was this the Mission Chick-fil-A? Is that where you're at?
Starting point is 00:52:48 This was, where in the world was I? It's Domi? No, I was at like Legends. Oh, yeah. That's a good one. Thank you. They got a Whataburger over there now. Yes, exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Right by Scott's work that he doesn't, that he naps. Hey, come on now. I was at the Mission Chick-fil-A the other day. Was so excited to see Domi. Like thought she was going to like give me a hug and get so excited. I will. Well, the last few times I've interacted with her, I feel like her memory is fading on who you are.
Starting point is 00:53:10 It went from like. She definitely knew I was. It went from like, tell, tell Brea, I said hello. Tell Brea I said hello. It's like, tell the big guy I said hello. Tell that one guy. Tell that one guy I was. What's his name?
Starting point is 00:53:19 And then the last time I was like. El Brian. El Brian. And Brad. And Brad. And Brad. I like Dr. Pepe. Honey roasted at barbecue. I feel like she's really been fading out like who you are. It went from like, tell Brad to tell big guy.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Like, tell your friend I said hello. Tell your friend. You know who your friend is. Maybe he's not friends with me anymore. Whatever. i walked in there she definitely recognized me okay but i think maybe it's just her shtick or maybe it's just the way she does it tell me how she greets you but she just goes hi welcome to chick-fil-a that's all it was oh you didn't get like a it wasn't like a hey oh and then later on you know later on she was like you haven't been coming around have you been going to another Chick-fil-A?
Starting point is 00:54:06 I was like, I just haven't been going that many times. Anyway, we talked for just a little bit, but nothing crazy. I was like, I had my third baby. She's like, I know. And so, it's like, okay. Puddle City, right? I know the Puddle City. La ciudad de puddles.
Starting point is 00:54:22 La ciudad de puddles. You bring up kombucha? Like don't. No, no, no, no. Do not do that when you're breastfeeding. Okay. Anyway, I went to the Chick-fil-A bathroom there and there's a sign that says, we apologize for the inconvenience due to issues with our water heater.
Starting point is 00:54:38 The water temperature is very hot. Please use at your own discretion. What would you guys do? I would say test that out test the water i'd say screw this i feel clean enough oh a million percent i tested oh yeah i was like let's see how hot this is like this is like the man and you'd be like i can withstand it's like when when the you know mexican restaurant like hot plate hot plate and it's like i don't know what they're talking about my steak's still cooking on there yeah or they say hot plate
Starting point is 00:55:04 hot plate and it's isaac's um chicken and rice that they just throw on my lap at me, Ranchito. And Steven Especia. So anyway, I tried it out. It's like a climactic story. I think it was like one of those things where it was still waiting to get hot. It was like getting there. And so I was like. Yeah, that's the real test.
Starting point is 00:55:23 You turn the water on, wait 30 seconds, and then you slide your hand in there. I would have totally done that. But it was like getting there and so i was like yeah that's the real test you turn the water on wait 30 seconds and then you slide your but it was i was i would have totally done that but it was one of the automatic ones so unless i like went back like five times i'm like this is dumb it's not gonna be good podcast content but um isaac come on over and let's let's tell our story your story i'm so excited so i'll preface it real quick is and I Isaac's had an interesting interesting time um Isaac and I will often do business together he uh owns Village Woodworks and we'll make uh dog kennels and I'll get the sale and I'll be like I don't want to make that Isaac make that you know I take a little finder's fee and so there's a woman her name's Karen fun fact um Karen's one in this Karen's one in this kennel. Um, and you know,
Starting point is 00:56:07 whatever we figured out, get the sale. Isaac delivers it yesterday. Everything's good. She pays me. I pay Isaac, you know, whatever, blah, blah, blah. Um, and then Isaac calls me a day and was like, Hey man, did, did, did Karen contact you? I'm nervous, dude. I'm nervous. Yeah. So, so Brad preface it pretty well. Um, I get to this lady's house. She's about 45. Also what's up. It's been a while. I haven't been on here. Also what's up guys. What's up guys. Um, she's about like 50 minutes from where we live and so i get there and ring the doorbell also i didn't even think about this takes probably five minutes for her to answer the door oh i don't know why this is funny yet but i'm excited it takes her like five minutes to answer the door and as soon as she answers door, both me and my buddy that are helping deliver the piece are both kind of
Starting point is 00:57:07 just taken back by what she has on, which is not a lot. Oh no. Oh no. She's a little older. Could have grandkids. Can't say for F. Definitely after 40, probably AF after 50. Can't say for F. Definitely after 40.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Probably AF after 50. Oh, okay. And so anyway, we unload the kennel. We get it in the spot. She is very nice. Seems very normal. The husband, he seems very normal. They are from Missouri, though.
Starting point is 00:57:43 They are from Missouri. Deep in Missouriouri too so and have lived there their whole life both of them okay um but i mean i i can't emphasize enough how much skin is showing she's wearing a button down you know i've never described a woman's body let alone a woman's chest on a podcast before. So, we'll cut these ones live. We'll cut these ones live. Yeah, so, we're gonna try to just. I'm gonna give my best shot. Let you guys imagine, I mean, a button down that's unbuttoned quite a bit with nothing under it.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Like a robe? So I'll just say that. A button down shirt. A shirt, a button down shirt. Okay. Nothing going on under it, unbuttoned. A few too many buttons. Interesting, what time of day going on under it unbuttoned a few too many buttons interesting what time probably more buttons unbuttoned than jake when he's on like
Starting point is 00:58:29 a dance floor at a wedding oh i see a little sweaty gotta cool off yeah what um time of day is this taking place uh yeah five okay okay um yeah she looks good husband is back from work okay okay um anyway so as soon as we leave as soon as we get done delivering it went great she liked it as soon as my buddy and i get back in my truck we both look at each other and we were like what the heck like what what why was she she knew people were coming she knew people were coming at five and i I don't know. I just. Yeah, we were both thrown back. So we kind of just laughed about that and whatever.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Well, later today or earlier today. Here we go. Here we go. I get a text from her. Earlier today. Sorry. You had said like. She thought that you were just a delivery guy.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. I didn't really preface that. So since the order was through Brad, as soon as I got there, she kind of asked, she's like, so do you just do deliveries for Brad? Or like, and I was like, uh, I mean, yeah, Brad, I do some woodworking myself. I kind of help him out.
Starting point is 00:59:35 And just because like, I didn't know what Brad had told her. So I was just like, just go with the flow. Whatever she wants to think, she can think. She didn't even necessarily know that I was the one that built this thing, like start to finish. She thinks maybe I worked on a little bit and just deliver it and help right. Great. Yeah. OK. And so I don't want to be like, well, no, I don't need to get you even know what what I what I have, what I actually do. So anyway, so later or earlier today, I get a text from her. And just so that it's accurate,
Starting point is 01:00:02 I'm just going to read the text verbatim. It says, hello, Isaac. This is Karen. You delivered to my house yesterday. I was wondering if you had any availability tomorrow around lunch break. I have a spot on the wood cabinet I would like to ask about. And you could also take a dip in our pool. I get bored when Mike's at work. Oh!
Starting point is 01:00:22 What? What? What? Oh, no. Dot, dot, dot. Yes, keep it dot. Dot, dot, dot. I get bored when Mike's at work. Dot, dot. Dude, when you got it, you got it.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Wow. So, I just laughed. I was like, I just thought it was hilarious because as soon as my buddy got back, that was the first thing we thought. What on earth was that? And so I immediately take a screenshot and send it to him. I was like, dude, what? The other thing is we had never, I didn't even, I mean, I knew they had a hot tub in their backyard. I could see it, but I had never even mentioned the pool.
Starting point is 01:01:01 Like, oh, that sounds nice. So I called Brad about this thinking like, oh, well, maybe she contacted Brad because she thinks Brad's the one that built it about the spot. And Brad's like, well, here, contact Isaac because he's the one that built it about the spot and he'll figure it out for you. You're like, Brad, did you say anything about a pool to Karen? Did you sign me up for something? But I called Brad thinking surely she messaged Brad being like, hey, there was a spot or whatever or something was not completely right. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:28 Because she thinks that Brad's the one building it. Yeah, yeah. I'm the deliverer. And so I called Brad and he's like, no, last I heard was yesterday. She said everything looks great. She said easy breezy, which may have been describing the way she was wearing her shirt. I don't know. The fact that it took her five minutes,
Starting point is 01:01:47 that is more suspect even now. Yeah, I didn't even think about that. Oh, these guys are coming to us. And the more I thought about it today, there was one other detail that I realized that was kind of, I don't know, maybe. It's like when you watch a movie for the second time, you start picking up on things.
Starting point is 01:02:02 Now you know the ending. You can look back. So the shirt and the shorts that I was i was wearing like my normal like work clothes just pretty much old gym clothes that have paint and stain all over a couple nosebleeds maybe a couple blood stains but for some reason one time in my shop my hands had just tons of paint all over them so I just decided to grab my chest like this and put big hand prints on it with paint. And that's the one you decided to deliver on? Little did I know Let me rephrase that all because of crazy stuff.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Little did I know I had that shirt on when I was delivering it and it's not super noticeable it's pretty fainted but I looked at my shirt a little bit later on and I see these handprints that's 100% what I want and her husband goes he says he says you got a little something on your shirt huh and I was just thought he was talking about so you just paint all over tons of paint but now I'm starting to think they probably saw the handprints. Yeah, that was Debra and Leigh would a couple weeks ago Did you respond to the text yeah, I did respond and I was like do you mind just calling me and we can you got a Diving board. Yeah. How about the hot tub? Is that open too? Does it have to be noon?
Starting point is 01:03:26 Can we go later? Yeah, right. I get bored on mics at work. Dot, dot, the dot dots. I don't care how old you are. The dot dots are always a success. I think it's also just a boomer way to text. I think some people just, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:03:39 I'm saying regardless of the dot dots, just the fact that she's like, I get bored on mics at work. Like how, how rare are you telling me this also why are you inviting me to swim in your pool like i know well yeah like i think a lot of times like things will happen in real life where you're like this could have been what did you say i just caught that yeah wait that's funny because yesterday i texted you about pools didn't i yeah you did like you know anything about pools that that probably had to be really confusing i mean i don't know where
Starting point is 01:04:13 i just tomorrow yeah whatever that's kind of random i text isaac you know anything about pools he's probably care put you up to this what's going on so from now on just if you order anything from ellis custom creations and you want the deluxe package just say so. And we'll have Isaac deliver it in his shirt. It'll be kind of a surprise. We'll have holes in strategic places. Isaac, do you want to switch spots now? You can tell Brad a story from
Starting point is 01:04:37 you and Scott on the road. This is just your hour. This is Isaac's podcast at this point. I don't know if you guys already talked about that. No, I can't wait to tell the story you guys talk you guys chat oh yeah um scott where should we start this off at so i guess we just start with jake's i guess yeah so brad scott and i we were all out of town this past weekend brad was in the gulf shores um scott was at the ozarks and i was in arkansas we're all south coming up north and sunday night i've got a volleyball game with jake um and some other
Starting point is 01:05:12 friends so jake checks my location to see where i'm at because i'm going straight from arkansas to the volleyball game and sees where i'm at and then zooms out a little bit and sees that brad and scott are also on the road in the middle of Missouri. And so Jake throws a screenshot in our group chat and was like, Hey, look at you guys on the road. Um, so yeah, we all start talking, Scott and Brad are talking in the group chat. We just start having a good time texting on the road and guys being dudes. Yep. Texting while driving, you know yeah so i kind of see where scott is and where brad's at and i noticed that scott is heading kind of in a diagonal direction i'm heading straight up and i'm like okay eventually we're bound to like meet up on the road and it
Starting point is 01:05:59 looks like maybe in about an hour or so we'll be pretty close to each other meanwhile scott is like behind brad probably i'm on a mission to catch brad we had stopped for dinner at sonic and clinton and you're at that point you're like brad i hope i can catch you just slow down or something i was like i'm so determined to get home so scott's thinking the whole time that he's speeding up to catch yeah i'm on a mission to catch brad i don't even know where i think i'm gonna i think i'm going to see Scott. And so a little bit of time goes by and eventually I text Scott and I was like, hey, I'll see you in Harrisonville.
Starting point is 01:06:31 And I mean, we are like eight miles away from each other on track to meet up at this exit at the same time. Scott's boat to merge onto the highway that I'm at or on at the same time. And literally that happens. Like Scott didn't realize it, but Scott was probably four cars ahead of me had merged on and now I'm right behind Scott. So it was just crazy. The fact that we didn't even know, I didn't even know Scott was out of town. I didn't even know you drove to the Gulf shores. It's unbelievable. The fact that you guys met up. Cause mean you're i guess
Starting point is 01:07:05 your trips were like you're four and a half five hours probably maybe not that far so ours was three and a half three and a half hours like it's still crazy that you guys were merged on the intersection at the same time and we left later than we wanted to because sam was like i kind of have a headache i don't really want to get on the road while i have a headache so let's wait i mean imagine like it's even more micro than that it'd be like if i went a half a mile per hour faster i stopped no way i would have all right so there you go yeah exactly long poop yeah so yeah think about normally i don't ever do that exactly poop at home type of guy where'd you go come and go really was it was it clean at all why is that so funny really i just feel like i just feel like gas station bathrooms oh i mean
Starting point is 01:07:46 i always make sure even if i'm just going in to get a drink i'm like i want to go to a nice gas station yeah so i make sure it's like newer so it was a nice come and go okay um anyway anyway yeah it's all crazy so scott is like five cars ahead of me and he's like start flashing bright so i start flashing him like i tend to do. And Scott sees me. So I speed up. And then Scott and I are side by side on the highway. We're just like yelling each other. And so that was all funny.
Starting point is 01:08:14 And Brad was way up ahead. I think we had told Brad that we had just saw each other. We sent some pictures of each other. Yeah. Yeah. I can just imagine Scott being so excited. I was so giddy. Like,
Starting point is 01:08:25 like this thing. It's like, Sam was great. Yeah. Sam was working and I'm just listening to a random EDM playlist, like trying to find some new music. Or Sam working in the front seat on the computer. Meanwhile,
Starting point is 01:08:38 Scott's jamming to EDM. David Garrick's over there. Martin Garrick's. Whatever. Who cares? Yeah. So yeah, I was like, this just brought so much spice to the drive home I was like I love yeah it was a great time yeah it was so fun meanwhile Brad's he's way ahead and had said that there was an accident up ahead so have fun in traffic whatever and I was like oh no oh I
Starting point is 01:08:57 didn't I didn't say have fun in traffic well so my bad so what happened I'm a nice Brad didn't say that I was trying to be nice by telling you guys once isaac and i met up i was like isaac we got to go catch brad and isaac was like dude i'm only on this road for nine more miles where i'm heading straight to volleyball and so uh palmer was staying at the lake with my father-in-law for a couple more days and so i turned to sam i was like hey we're kid free do you want to go watch him play volleyball he's like yeah sure the most scott thing ever ed DM and just like spontaneously going to watch your friends.
Starting point is 01:09:28 And it was awesome. Yeah. And so I texted the group chat. I said, hey, I'll follow you to Isaac. I said, hey, I'll follow you to volleyball. We're going to come watch. I was driving, so I didn't see that text. I mean, I was responsible driver.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Yeah. Did not see the fact that Scott had said, hey, we'll follow you. I think Scott's going home. All of a sudden, I noticed that Scott starts to slow down responsible driver yeah did not see the fact that scott had said hey we'll follow you i think scott's going home all of a sudden i noticed that scott starts to slow down because i've been behind scott for a while now i've been following him and all of a sudden he starts to slow down like eight miles per hour just turns off his cruise control like what is scott doing so eventually i pass him and now scott's behind me i'm like that was really weird why did sc Scott do that you texted have fun in traffic yeah I probably did yeah I'm a mean guy jerk because Isaac Isaac gets over in the right lane
Starting point is 01:10:10 and then somebody's merging on so Isaac gets back in the middle lane and I was a courteous driver yeah I was getting back in the middle lane like I should and you told me the nine mile thing like four miles ago so I still think we have a little real estate for me to get back behind you and then all of a sudden once you merge back in the middle lane you go off of the you go onto an exit and i'm like it was my exit i'm like oh crap and so i slam on my brakes in the middle of the highway i don't see anybody behind me and i am double blind spotted i got a car on the right so i i i slam on my brakes swerve right right. Right behind me, there's a car. This dude swerves out of the way, lays on his horn.
Starting point is 01:10:49 So I swerve back to the left. There's another car. He starts swerving and just laying on his horn. And I literally almost caused a multi-car accident in the middle of the highway because I was trying to get off the same exit. I'm exiting and I'm looking in my side mirror and I'm going, I'm like, what is Scott doing right now? I just see Scott. I mean,
Starting point is 01:11:10 literally when he says slams on the brakes, when he's going, he slammed on the brakes and tries to cut across like four lanes. And it's busy. I mean, it's like seven o'clock, not quite rush hour, but there are a lot of cars on the highway.
Starting point is 01:11:22 And I just hear like so many cars honking and i'm like i'm like why what is scott doing did he decide that he wanted to like pull over and come say hi at the stop sign off the exit and then i started thinking i was like maybe he said something so i scroll back in the text and sure enough scott's like hey isaac i'll follow you so i feel a little bit responsible for that he goes he goes this makes a lot more sense now yeah i was really confused but it ended up making sense i mean it was close like yeah and these these guys were so mad behind me and and we were it was right as we were approaching that big traffic jam where the accident was and they were i could tell they were both trying to catch up to
Starting point is 01:12:00 me to flip me the bird scream at me do you know what it's like to catch up with somebody to get mad at you. I do know. I do know. Revenge driving, yeah. And so I like, you know, if you have two lanes on the left and the third lane's closed, I went all the way up and then like zipped in and those guys were way back there.
Starting point is 01:12:16 So I got away without them seeing me again. Jeez, Scott. You moved to Missouri and you just become a crazy driver all of a sudden. It was wild. But It was, uh, it was wild, but volleyball was a lot of fun. And I recorded several clips of them playing. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:34 I think we'll be coming to Patreon near you. No, he didn't pound sand, but he nailed a waitress. With the, with the wall, with the ball. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:48 It was pretty great. I said, so yeah, Scott and Sam come to our game which is so fun and i was like scott if you like don't mind do you want to get like one clip just like maybe to post like our story or something like i was like we could do like a supple thing like just get like rachel setting at one time yeah i'm pretty sure scott live streamed for about you know the next hour and a half i mean every time i look over scott's got a recording and it was great so So now I have all these clips and no surprise. I was going to edit something for for Patreon
Starting point is 01:13:08 because there is some funny stuff. I mean, yeah, I see. Just nailing a waitress. The waitress. And then. Yeah. And then celebrates. He just pulls out his bow and arrow.
Starting point is 01:13:18 Exactly. Like he does. It was like 20 feet out of the house. Not even close. He was in no area to be hit oh man but uh real quick just on volleyball dude it might have been the most fun i've had playing a sport in such a long time even more fun than whooping you know rachel's brothers and it was so about four v four and just like all of us like me rachel isaac and luke it was it reminded me of like when we first got into pickleball during quarantine.
Starting point is 01:13:47 It was like that level of fun. Really? It was just like, yeah, it was just like, yeah. Is this is this for a new league or? Yeah, it's a new league. So just for us. And yeah, I think it was a combination of like it was just really fun. You touch the ball every, you know, time over now.
Starting point is 01:14:00 And just like we were like good, you know, like that was so fun. And like seeing Rachel, Isaac, Luke all work together. Were you playing were you playing six before okay yeah so it's like way more involved now yeah it's a lot more intense and a lot more fun and yeah just great watching isaac you know get set by rachel and we're gonna up here dude you don't even know here i found it for a heterosexual 30 year old male i am shockingly good at passing a volleyball. Pretty good. I don't know where libero. Yeah, pretty good libero.
Starting point is 01:14:28 I don't know where it comes from necessarily. It's kind of a weird skill to like. You got supple hands. Supple forearms. Supple arms. Yeah, I got supple arms. So yeah, I just stay in the back row all night and it's so fun. And Isaac just stays in the front and just jumps every 10 seconds.
Starting point is 01:14:45 Isaac was, Isaac was drenched in sweat so you're like the point guard of a volleyball team which makes sense for you because you're a good point guard sure yeah all right guys it was fun it was fun hey see kappa i i will vouch too for rachel she's she's very really really good really division one yeah i mean it's well it's just fun to watch somebody that's mastered their craft like it doesn't matter if she's like so many of her sets she wasn't she didn't even look around to see where the net was she just she's like midway through the court backs to it and she'll like bump set one to isaac that's just right on the net and that's pretty cool because this is sand volleyball, right? That is like
Starting point is 01:15:26 obviously she didn't play that nearly as much as she played regular volleyball. So I was thinking in my head like, oh yeah, she just knows where she is on the court. But sand volleyball is just completely different. Not completely different, but the different game. Yeah, it's just fun. It's fun to watch though. I keep You going to go into more games? Maybe.
Starting point is 01:15:43 Anyone's invited. Anyone come Sundays at 9pm Volleyball Beach. Come watch us. It's swerving on the highway to get there. It's so fun. you're going to go into more games maybe yeah you know if anyone's invited anyone comes sundays at 9 p.m volleyball beach come watch us it's swerving on the highway to get it's so fun i think i've borderline annoyed rachel at how much i've talked about the level of fun i had that night she's like i get it you had fun that night you know i'm like it was so fun though right it was so fun dude summer nights are precious it was amazing oh it's just so fun. There's nothing like it. I can't believe how much I enjoyed that. Summer mornings, too.
Starting point is 01:16:08 Summer mornings. This morning I played pickleball and I think the guys I was with got sick of me commenting on how beautiful of a morning it was. Oh, dude, that's me every time I golf. Like, guys, this is awesome. This is so nice. I say it every tee box. Guys, this is great, huh?
Starting point is 01:16:19 Yeah. It's like this is. Yeah. Well, it brings a little positivity. You know, it's like you can get frustrated while playing sports if you just take in the moment and enjoy the fact that you're outdoors playing something fun and that makes it better it's nice weather outside um scott you had some things that you said you had written down for this week do you want to share any of them yeah okay sure it happened right when you needed to be out of here 30 minutes? 40. Whoa. Let's see. 40 minutes from now.
Starting point is 01:16:46 You need to be home at 545? Yeah. Yeah. Around there. Catherine wanted to leave by 6. So 545 is... Cool. What are you guys doing? She is doing some training
Starting point is 01:16:56 because we are homeschooling Hattie next year. We've decided. So she's doing like some... Homeschooling, have you heard of a co-op? I don't know any of this stuff. I know's like kind of like a like a cooperative mission in halo like i'm doing co-op like me and scott are playing together to right the campaign mode four four days a week they're in campaign mode just by themselves really haddie and katherine
Starting point is 01:17:18 and then one day a week it's like this coagulation snipers on coagulation Uncle John could never get that map name. I've heard him call a coagulation 19 different names in his life collaboration He was like sniper Asian what is it? Cuz sniper Asian which one was that the one that was a big circle knows that Yeah lockouts kind of the two little bases that. No, it was lockout. Yeah. Lockout. It's kind of the two little bases on each side.
Starting point is 01:17:48 That's lockout. The blue. Yeah. Because we would always. No, not that one. Not that one. Lockout. What's the one that was like?
Starting point is 01:17:54 I know what lockout is. Oh, foundation. Foundation is the circle. Foundation is like the rocket launcher. You play rockets on foundation. And there's that one section. Chaos. You shoot through the wall.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Yes. You shoot through the wall in one of them. Yes. Yeah. My dad, Uncle John. How does he? I'm in the building. How does he kill me? It's like, how have you not learned? We've been playing this for three years. You shoot through the wall. Yes, I thought you shoot through the wall in one of them. Yeah, my dad uncle John How does he I mean the Billy? How does he kill me? It's like how you not learn to play this for three years You shoot the wall in this but Just comes in yelling,
Starting point is 01:18:25 Hey, we're going to Karen's house with a mustache. Harry's got a mustache right now. Oh, she had two handprints on his shirt. Hey guys, we'll go to Karen's house. That's so funny.
Starting point is 01:18:37 What if, what if Isaac was like, yeah, I'll be there. And instead of going just since Harrison, I swear you're different than yesterday. Yeah. Tell us Harrison. Hey, I want to surprise you. I, um, of going just since harrison i swear you're different than yesterday yeah tell us harrison hey i want to surprise you i um i got you a podcast guest i know you're trying to go to the
Starting point is 01:18:52 podcast um just go over there thank me later that's right okay anyway scott you got something yeah we gotta play halo yeah i'm kind of halo tangent gosh uh one thing you talked about earlier jake was storms uh yeah we've been having some gnarly storms in kansas city oh yeah i keep sleeping through them i wake up and like my roommates have been texting like that was crazy huh like there's a tornado yeah did you sleep through the one a couple days ago yeah dude and i don't think you guys got hit as bad down here in platte city it was like missouri it was nuts i mean i've lived in kansas city my whole life and i don't know that i've decided i don't know that i've experienced a lot of thunderstorms that were more like windier hail rain i mean it was like are you talking about the one that was a tornado
Starting point is 01:19:38 like eventually it was like the tornado like yeah it was uh tuesday night yeah yeah like a small tornado went through leeward right yeah like the leeches yeah i mean it it's hard to believe that what went through platte city was not a tornado really i mean trees were down everywhere i mean i thought our house was gonna blow over our backyard was an absolute mess really yeah it was it was insane but the other night this was two weeks ago we had another huge storm in the middle of the night and we had a bolt of thunder bolt of lightning and thunder that set off our house alarm that's like how profusely it vibrated the that's cool the house so it's like one in the morning and i'm very very sleepy and
Starting point is 01:20:17 and i pull up my app on my phone to turn off the alarm and that gives me two options it says cancel alarm verify alarm oh and i'm like and so i'm one in the morning, one in the morning, pretty like sluggish. And I'm like, this is interesting. I'm like the thermostat. Yeah. So leave hold. Yeah. So the definition of verify, I'm like verified that I'm okay.
Starting point is 01:20:38 Like there's nothing wrong. Marked safe. Yeah. So I'm like, let's go verify. I don't want to cancel the alarm system yeah i want to keep you know so i i click verify and then i feel like lloyd and dumb and dumber when harry grabs him and like do you realize what you've done you realize what you've done the town is that way and so so i get a call a minute later literally 60 seconds later from from from brinks and he goes hey i'm so and so from brinks just verifying whips out that word again just verifying you know the alarm uh
Starting point is 01:21:11 at and he gives my address and i'm like oh yeah hey sorry i hit the wrong button on the app we're good and he goes okay can you give me your password and i go oh i literally words out of my mouth i go oh boy for safety cookie 1944 yeah crumble cookie err day um and so i go i literally told my i've never had to do this before i don't even i don't even remember setting a password it's my first time verifying an alarm in the middle of a storm and so i ask him i go do you give hints like you can we do kind of a warmer colder country of origin well you know how like on if you if you're logging in like can you security questions or what's your pet's first name yeah and he goes uh no sir we wouldn't be a very good security company if we gave hints all right all right and i go i go okay let's dive in here. So I go like salmon eyes, anniversary Palmer, my birthday, last four of my social.
Starting point is 01:22:08 And he just goes, Nope. Every time. No, that's not it. Did he say like, you have one that try left before we send somebody? No, he didn't. I just got to keep rolling. If I were a robber, I would, I would pass out or I would like take out whoever I'm robbing and then just zero, zero, zero, zero.
Starting point is 01:22:23 And then just like watch the other guy like like eventually lock the safe like okay mediterranean hummus monkey bar nope like over time yeah so eventually i got i gave him like my password for almost everything on my computer and he goes thank you very much mr peck have a nice and that was it and they just hung up the phone oh wow he acted like you had it just guessed 14 times before that he's like yes you got it sir pleasure doing business with you yeah and i was like okay great and that was it and i was that easy verified and that's how you verify guys that's how you verify an alarm so at least now i know my security password and yeah it was it was an interesting experience dude at 1 30 in the morning security
Starting point is 01:23:05 systems are very confusing the whole time trey was in italy we would still go to his house to work or shoot sometimes and he told me the the code for like his security system but there were no instructions like hey backdoor code is this like great i can figure it out techie guy yeah there's no words at all it's just like motions of people doing things and so i would just i mean i tried every combination of the book i I was like, enter the number and then hit the guy like in his home. Like that seems right.
Starting point is 01:23:28 Like I'm home. Like lock me in here. Yeah. But then there were others. There was another one that like had like an X on it. So I was like, ooh, maybe that's like
Starting point is 01:23:36 cancel the alarm. Oh, see, I read it as like, I read it as like cancel the alarm. Like we don't need to be secure right now. We're fine right now. So I would try that. But then sometimes that, it seemed like nothing was working. So then I would, I would hit the we don't need to secure right now. We're fine right now So I would say that but then sometimes that it seemed like nothing was working
Starting point is 01:23:46 So then I would I would hit the button and then hit the code and like that was I think I was telling it to do Like 14 commands at a time getting all these notifications on the Amalfi. So when I think you're yeah, you're home. Oh, no, they're cool Okay, someone wants access to your fridge. Okay. No, it's fine Yeah, security systems are tricky Real quick just you said the crazy storm thing. When we were in Alabama, I didn't really experience the storm down at the beach, but Catherine had
Starting point is 01:24:12 a huge sandstorm, hurricane experience. Darude. And then all of a sudden, the sandstorm. They're like taking the on the beach bow's like oh no honey it's a sandstorm get to the van
Starting point is 01:24:39 yeah it really did seem like it's all these like beach lifeguards just come up and just like That's exactly what happened I was upstairs helping rose Helping her go to sleep and I was giving the catherine some time at the beach All of a sudden I hear like this noise and i'm like what's going on? It was like pouring down rain I go down there and they were like all drenched and she kind of was like,
Starting point is 01:25:06 it was actually really scary and whatever. It's not my story to tell because I wouldn't tell it very well, but like it sounded like it was kind of crazy. But the thing that was really crazy to me was I was on the third floor of this house and like I was sitting there and kind of hearing this weird noise outside. And all of a sudden the house just like starts moving. And like the house was literally rocking with the storm and i had never experienced anything like that but i think that's how i think that's how it's supposed to be
Starting point is 01:25:29 from what i understand on the no i do but i talked to the architect and he was like no that's that's good i designed it that way no i think they really do design it that way i talked to my realtor and he was like oh no i want no you should be in like kind of the topsy turvy houses i think that's what they say that's why they do it on the stilts or whatever i don't know anyway if there's a sandstorm then you wobble wobble maybe wow yeah yeah um so i love that it was a really weird feeling but good news is that's how it's supposed to be so it's totally fine that's like the salesman that already sold it to you like that's how it's supposed to be no that's good builds character yeah right like once a month or so rachel will like call me out on something that i've said either on the podcast or whatever she's like do you really believe that and then i'm like no yeah yeah like the most recent one i think was saying that like it feels like a lot of
Starting point is 01:26:19 my hair falls out but i'm like i think like healthy hair like healthy hair does fall out she's like what are you like she basically is like really nicely saying like, are you an idiot? Like, yeah. She's like, remind me again what you said about healthy hair. I was like, yeah, I think that's fine. If like it falls out, you know,
Starting point is 01:26:32 you just have a lot of hair, so it falls out. She's like, so you think the healthiest hair you can have like is the hair that falls out pretty often? I was like, hey, I don't, this is not making a lot of sense. I don't think.
Starting point is 01:26:42 Say more things out loud. You're like, eh. No, you're probably honest. So then, yeah. No, never mind. Anyway. That's funny. So your house moves at night.
Starting point is 01:26:50 Yeah. But I mean. But the real estate agent said that's normal for this. You know. I think it's. Kind of a bend, don't break thing is going on. If you're from the coast, let us know, guys. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:27:00 Anyway. All right. What else you got? That's funny. Topper update. Topper is the dog. Topper gun. dog topper never mind so several episodes ago you posed the question i think this was before i was attending here uh pose the question uh first of all before my residency yeah you asked if one thousand dollars for four weeks of dog training was worth it uh i will correct you as two thousand dollars
Starting point is 01:27:25 for four weeks doing all right and the update i'll give is that we are lightly shopping suitors of a new home for top i could have told you that i could have told you that i was like these guys even after you've dropped the two grand even after the two grand and i mean we've easily spent four to five grand on this no don't say that out loud four to five thousand dollars on this dog dude throw away like with the purchase price the training all the stuff we had to buy for him food uh dog sitting we're about to go on vacation for 10 days that's going to be over 300 and dog sitting but yeah he he is just a banshee man i mean he's thinking about renaming him to banshee yeah i mean a coagulation does a good job that's so great no don't get in the
Starting point is 01:28:14 banshee you're cheating dude how great of a feeling though was it when you shot somebody down yeah i told you not to get the band Remember that one place in coagulation like up in the rocks. Yes, you could you could park the banshee up there and snipe from there Dude, that was a good spot. We need to have a halo night. Yeah You're leaving for ten days. Yeah My kids are going out of town with my wife. Whoa. What? I'm by myself, dude. What? I get bored when my wife's gone. For how long?
Starting point is 01:28:48 Next week? I get, want to link up? Want to collab? Want to system link together? Want to, nevermind. Go ahead. Go ahead, Scotty boy. No.
Starting point is 01:28:59 He's a banshee. He's a banshee. He's a crit. He's biting. He's jumping up on people. He forgot what it means to go potty outside. He's a banshee. He's biting. He's jumping up on people. He forgot what it means to go potty outside. He's a dog. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:09 Well, I mean, like he was still two grand on training. You would expect like this dog. You take that thing back to the trainer. That's where he's at right now. That's where he's being dogs at. You don't. Did you pay him more money? We're paying more money.
Starting point is 01:29:19 Come on. It's less. You know, Dick, listen. It's less. The trainer's going to call and be like like i don't know what like this dog's out of control like i don't know yeah you need to come get him it's like i'll come get him once he's better yeah get the banshee out of him but yeah he pees all over the floor he's pooped all over the floor uh he does a few things well i'll give him credit for that he can stay he can stay
Starting point is 01:29:41 in his kennel he'll go in his kennel and stay. He'll sleep there overnight, which is a big deal. And he kind of listens sometimes. I mean, but anyways. So there are two reasons why we still have this dog. Palmer loves him. And I've sunk so much money into him at this point. Yeah, I'm like, I cannot give up this easily after spending that much money. I was going to say, you're not a quitter.
Starting point is 01:30:02 I'm not a quitter. It's been like two months. We've had him for four months. Almost, right? pretty close four months though you gotta you gotta we gotta yeah we're gonna have him longer but like it was funny because i was just venting to sam one day and then she comes home yesterday and has like five people who are like i'll take him like all like lined up and i'm like no dude chill it's like i'm not trying to get rid of the dog i just had a rough day okay it's like he's just driving me nuts isn't it way more is it well sam it was sam's dog first right yes she's the one that convinced me yeah and i warned her i was like he's gonna stink up our house he's gonna make it a mess it's gonna be really inconvenient because we're we're very
Starting point is 01:30:38 busy people we both have full-time jobs and we do we have a lot of activities going on at night you gotta watch volleyball yeah i gotta watch exactly there's a lot of activities going on at night. You got to watch volleyball. Yeah, I got to watch. Exactly. There's a lot of isn't going to watch itself. There's a lot of things going on in our lives. But hey, Palmer loves him. So I'm like, I'll do it for you, Palmer. But some people might just say, get rid of the dog and get a baby. Some people would say that. Name the baby topper.
Starting point is 01:30:59 See if Palmer notices. Palmer will trade you a dog for a little brother that's funny well okay so if you are interested in buying scott's dog yeah for five thousand and one dollars minimum five thousand okay it's for sale right now for five thousand and one dollar yeah it sounds like it's a really good dog yes something you guys would love it yep listens to everything okay um anything else you got for us um i think everything else i have can go into blanks of the week okay oh i forgot about blanks of the week you want to do some blanks yeah all right i have two things really quick before blanks of the week number one for cold man is i think uh arkansas is better than I thought it was. Oh, at college baseball?
Starting point is 01:31:46 At every, well, yeah, at everything. I think we stopped at a hotel in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Okay. I have a pretty low standard because I'm from Kansas. And like, unless I think like it's a big city, like St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, like all these Midwest big cities, I think like I have no standards at all.
Starting point is 01:32:03 Like it's going to be like pretty normal. Jonesboro was all right. Jones and then i went to fayetteville you know a couple weeks ago whenever that was maybe five months ago smell like popcorn in here yeah yeah it does they're taking popcorn to karen's so i keep going anyway fayetteville was awesome i'm like arkansas doing all right um and one thing that ever like multiple different people i think three different different people at the hotel, I had conversations with, you know, just being friendly every single time that they left. They said, be careful, be careful. Like, and it wasn't like I was saying like, yeah, we're leaving today. We're about to drive through East Memphis. Hey, be careful. You're going on vacation to St. Louis. Like that guy, quick trip, go to St. Louis. Hey, don't get shot. hey don't get shot yeah but uh um yeah i don't know if that's just like a thing have you heard people say be careful
Starting point is 01:32:50 i've seen i heard people like when you're leaving like and they know you're going on a trip like okay be safe like that's what texas people like yeah but like okay just be careful i'm like you liked it i don't know i liked it fine but it was like i've never heard that before i didn't know if if you guys ever heard people just be like be careful no i don't think i think it would alarm me i would want to verify it was interesting like like the first person said i was like oh that's kind of cute like whatever that's fine what do you know that i don't yeah and then like this like this like frat guy that would like look like he just been on a bender like a groomsman at the wedding tiktok star hey guys and he was just like all right man be careful and i was like over the mic yeah all right the
Starting point is 01:33:25 mic man be careful um so i don't know i it does seem like something that a horror movie that's like in the open in act one of the horror movie yeah it's like these people are so nice they're all telling me like be safe be careful and then you realize they know something like you know whatever yeah truly be careful so anyway hadn't hadn't heard that before i don't know if people out there be careful be careful my parents are going on a little vacation hot springs i'll tell them be careful okay okay and they'll think that was so nice of him and then they'll realize oh he's just me yeah do it just out of the blue like hey guys i know you're going to hot springs be careful if there's one thing i had to say two words be careful all right blanks of the week okay start us off Brad
Starting point is 01:34:06 I responded immediately to the group text I was like oh that's funny and then didn't think about it again so all right so uh blanks of the week we got uh blanks of the week yeah um okay first off we're gonna do uh poultry of the week you wanna do poultry first great Scott you got one I do have one go ahead my poultry is seasonal allergies do you guys get seasonal allergies no i'm just kidding um great thank you scott um i'm trying to get them more i think it's as i'm getting older maybe or as i'm a dad or something i think everyone says that like you trey derrick you now scott everyone says like they didn't used to be this bad they're getting uh like worse and i think mine i'm like i don't speak up because i'm like mine are getting way better mine used to be way worse
Starting point is 01:34:46 oh really really yeah i think good for you yeah um i've always had them and i it's usually you know i can tolerate it just takes take a pill once a day and pop a zyboy maybe yeah zy's old um so memorial day we were down in paola uh out with the Douds, Rustin and Bree. And Rustin and I played golf that morning. So I was outside, kind of started feeling it a little bit more. And then we were hanging out at their house and they have a big field out there, which you guys know was recently burnt down. Yes. We didn't start the fire. But the field's back.
Starting point is 01:35:20 She's back. And we're playing around outside. And I just noticed my allergies just getting worse and worse and worse. And I'm like, man, this is starting to get kind of kind of annoying, actually. And so they have a little Polaris and a four wheeler. And so we're taking the kids out on a ride in their field. Bree's got a bunch of kids in the Polaris. Sam and I are behind on the four wheeler. We drive out in their field and we're following Bree and she's just kicking up all sorts of seeds and pollen and dust. Ragweed.
Starting point is 01:35:47 Yeah. And I mean, I'm out there. I mean, I have sunglasses on and this stuff is just being injected into my nose, into my eyes, into my mouth. That's how you want it to be. Yeah. I mean, it was. Grown immunity. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:58 Immunized. I tell you what, I have never felt the way that I did that day. And they'll all tell you, like if you talk to Sam Breer Rustin, they'll tell you I looked miserable. It looked like somebody took my eyeballs out, dunked them in a pot of acid and put them back in my head. Like, I mean, bloodshot, completely bloodshot. I was I was laying on their couch with a wet rag on my face from allergies.
Starting point is 01:36:23 Dude, it was miserable. The term allergies just seems like such a soft word it's like yeah i have allergies you know this is changing seasons what if you add attack allergy attack this was kamikaze this was an allergy assault yeah now it's more intense yeah scott's not telling you is that he was actually uh behind sam when they were around the four-wheeler no i was i was driving. I just love that image of Scott being like, not even driving, holding Sam. Oh, Sam! Whoa!
Starting point is 01:36:53 I don't have my sunglasses. I'm just kidding. I ended up having, we left their house shortly after because I was like, I gotta go home. I gotta lay down. I gotta buy all the meds in the world. We bought like $80 worth of allergy meds yeah new pills nasal spray eye drops eye drops that like make your eyeballs numb didn't know those existed oh yeah that was an interesting feeling that's how they did my uh lasik there you
Starting point is 01:37:15 go which i'm getting closer and closer to you'll get there baby yeah i'm like ready to do it if you can spend that much on a dog. Yeah. You should be finding suit. All I have is a dog. Uh, yeah. My poultry is just allergies stink. They're not fun. I never know if I have allergies or if I just have a little cold.
Starting point is 01:37:34 Like I'm always like, this is just annoying. I can usually tell right off the bat. Anyway, my allergies are that I sneeze probably twice a day for months. That's it. Twice a day. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:44 It's like, I'm never a sneeze attack. Just a couple times a day. It's like, yeah, sneeze. Yeah, that's it. I was sneezing like twice a day for months that's it twice a day yeah it's like i'm never a sneeze attack just a couple times a day it's like yeah sneeze yeah that's it i was sneezing like twice a minute during that day uh my poultry of the week goes out to the company called coligan okay ever heard of it yeah uh so we get we have that little coligan water cooler in our house take a lot of pride in that do i love i i really really enjoy the water like dude you don't even know dude you don't even know it's the best water ever and it's affordable whatever i like it um but whatever long story short they they stopped sending me alerts before they were going to pick them up so uh normally they'll like once a month they'll deliver these you know five
Starting point is 01:38:18 five gallon buckets to me and i put out the other ones is the idea and then they take those and they replace them um for the last like four and then they take those and they replace them um for the last like four months now they have not like they have just delivered them without telling me and so in my garage there's like 20 plus warehouse of yes dude it's like they're like they're like just like empties like like stacking up and i've called them multiple times on the phone like and i've started to get kind of firm with them it's like at first i was like you know i understand like they're like we got a new system and so you weren't in there and so i i send them multiple times on the phone. I've started to get kind of firm with them. At first, I was like, I understand. They're like, we got a new system, and so you weren't in there.
Starting point is 01:38:48 I send them everything, and then the next month comes, and they just deliver it. I call them again, like, hey, just see them. They're like, oh, yeah, sorry, we had a little bug, so some people didn't get the text. I was like, no problem. Then they're like, we'll get back to you by the end of the week.
Starting point is 01:39:04 Finally, over vacation, our neighbors are like, hey, FY back to you by the end of the week, you know, in a week comes. And so finally over vacation, uh, our neighbors like, Hey, FYI, I picked up a little bit of your packages on the front step. Also, you have a water cooler in the front,
Starting point is 01:39:14 like of your house that was dropped off. And I'd like asked him to replace a water cooler, but they didn't notify me or anything. And they just were like, yeah, let's just throw this out there. You know, there's huge storms coming.
Starting point is 01:39:24 And like, and so I finally called him and I was like, I know it's not your fault. Like it's this woman named Joe. Like Joe, I know it's not your fault, but I am, I am frustrated. I'm frustrated and I want this to get fixed. And, uh, hopefully, hopefully we'll get a fix to get eventually, but like no resolution yet. Oh, it's like the tower of Babel and I don't know, some tower.
Starting point is 01:39:43 It's a big tower. It's like Beaver Creek in my,el and i don't know some tower it's a big tower it's like beaver creek in my uh i don't know i love references it's it's a lot of a lot of bottles in my garage in my garage our garage is not a very big garage so uh i have poultry with my my water service okay let us know next week if it gets uh resolved it's firm it was adamantant. It was resolved. Let's call it again. I don't have much of a poultry. I was just trying to think of one right now in the moment. Rachel and I were,
Starting point is 01:40:09 I guess I can throw in two poultry. Three poultry's in one. Three poultry's in one right now. I don't have many, but here's five. First poultry is with myself. I saw footage of myself
Starting point is 01:40:18 on Correct Opinions last week and I did not like how my chin looked and the amount of skin underneath my chin. So it started with poultry with myself. And I said, Rachel, I'm going on a diet. So then we went to go grocery shopping.
Starting point is 01:40:30 So second poultry is with the chicken that we bought together. Third poultry is that a man came up and said, hey, this is going to sound crazy. And I was like, here we go. Here we go. Good way to start a sentence.
Starting point is 01:40:44 I know I got the I got the kale I never get kale and uh this is gonna sound crazy what's your name Nick I've had every iteration of not being recognized when it seems you're going to be recognized how does this keep happening there's just so many times you expect it too much well I just like I keep getting approached by people who you know have something have something ridiculous to say. And it's never, are you the guy from jean shorts? And you always get the jean shorts. I was like,
Starting point is 01:41:08 once a month now I'm getting some sort of ridiculous. And yeah, Rachel's there. I was like, that's hilarious. Like Nick, I go, no,
Starting point is 01:41:14 like, man, you look, look just like a guy named Nick. And I was kind of waiting. If that was it, he's like, all right,
Starting point is 01:41:20 well, I'll see you later. You know, have fun with that kale. So those are my three cultures. All right. Next, we got word of the week. Great. You got a word. All right, well, see you later. Have fun with that kale. Put it in the crisper. So those are my three poultries. All right, next we got word of the week. Great. You got a word?
Starting point is 01:41:29 All right, go ahead. My word of the week is maverick. Oh, boy. Come on. Okay, so I was listening to the pod this week, and we had that little segment where we predicted our weeks, and I predicted my reaction after seeing Top gun the first time spot could not have been more accurate punching when you were out of it it was everything brad like in the theater walking out of the theater
Starting point is 01:41:55 so yeah we sam and i saw it did you laugh did you laugh in excitement oh tons tons there were moments where i was like i don't know if i need to cry giggle stand up and shout or like i don't know what i'm feeling i'm just amped really yeah but anyways we saw it we saw it in dolby so it's like enhanced sound enhanced picture yeah uh and my goodness it's like i walked out of the building and someone was there waiting with a contract for me to sign to be a salesman for this show or just be in the navy yeah probably signed it but i i mean i advertised it to everybody i was like you guys have to go see this movie and i i texted our whole group yeah it was really funny because peter texted back he goes dude saw it today
Starting point is 01:42:34 almost cried three or four times yeah i immediately pick up the phone and call peter and i was like peter i was like peter i gotta talk we gotta talk about this like i need to talk to somebody about this because it was i, I mean, it was Saturday that he and I talked and the movie only came out like, like two days prior. So hardly anybody had seen it that I knew. So I was Peter and I talked about it and I just the whole week at work with everyone that I talked to, I was like, you guys have to go see this movie. This is absolutely incredible. And so, uh, cause you, yeah, you've been've been giving uh your work friends call signs right yeah so so we have uh we have a weekly call with our team and the procurement team that's
Starting point is 01:43:11 amazing and i was like i was like guys we need to we need to have call everyone needs to have a call sign and and so the the director of procurement he was like he's like what would be yours and i was like i don't know and then he starts he just goes what about crumble what about gardetto what about uh tight shirts pickleball caged yeah so i was like i like crumble so that's my call sign is crumble and then we we have a team of 15 people everybody has a call sign now it's fantastic give me a few other ones some of your favorites um hold on i'll pull them up uh talk to me crumble i'll see something real quick So probably like four days after, you know, our friends are texting about Top Gun and everyone's talking about it. So it had been known. I'd been telling Rachel, like, we should go see this. Looks fun. Everyone said it's amazing. Yeah. I go golf with Peter and he's telling me, he's like,
Starting point is 01:43:56 dude, Scott actually called me after. I was like, dude, that is hilarious that Scott called you. And we were on the 18th hole. We're finishing up and I get a text or I get a call from Scott and Peter jokingly goes like, it's probably about Top Gun. Scott calls me. He's like, we were on the 18th hole we're finishing up and i get a text or i get a call from scott and peter jokingly goes like it's probably about top gun scott calls me he's like dude you want to see top gun tonight i said dude it wasn't about top gun um anyway yeah so we uh that night though um we ended up having we were kid free again that night and jake threw out the idea of playing pickleball and salmon had a really long day at work and i was like okay we can go see top gun again or we can go play pickleball or
Starting point is 01:44:30 we can do both and sam was like no way like i don't have energy to do that and i just said name your price what what's it gonna take to get you to do this she's like a month of back rubs and you have to get jake and rachel to come and i was like okay getting jake and rachel to come do anything is pretty easy yeah that was no problem what's super funny too is i mentioned i give i pitched the idea to jake and he texts me rachel's response which is all caps like yes yes yes yes that sounds so fun yeah it's like oh yeah of course we're in tough sell yeah and i'm like wow that is complete opposite of how sam reacted to this idea yeah so we went and saw it with uh we went and played pickleball for a little
Starting point is 01:45:09 bit and then went and saw it with jake and rachel and imax just as much fun yeah i mean there's i mean i think you guys could tell there's a couple scenes where i just kind of leaned forward in my seat i was gonna say was scott doing the thing where he would like look at you like watching your reaction oh yeah there was a couple scenes like after a really crazy scene happened yeah a really crazy he's happened i'd look over at him and there's one time right i won't spoil it because it's a big part in the movie but rachel's reaction was hilarious like one guy you think he dies rachel just goes or she's like oh thank goodness or something like that that's great but yeah the call signs uh some of my favorites we have uh one guy so everybody has like an id picture and some of
Starting point is 01:45:51 these are super super old one guy he is like he looks totally normal has a goatee short hair now but his id picture has really long white hair a big old beard so he's gandalf from lord of the rings talk to me gandalf um We have a girl that went to Arkansas. So she's Sui. Okay. Talk to me, Sui. We have one. There's a huge debate on the team
Starting point is 01:46:13 between Starbucks and Dunkin' Coffee. And one guy who's like the biggest Dunkin' advocate is Dunkin'. Talk to me, Dunkin'. Yeah, talk to me, Dunkin'. Those are some of the good ones. Talk to me, Dunkin Those are some of the good ones. Talk to me, Duncan. But yeah, it's... Anyways, if you guys couldn't tell, I'm obsessed with the movie.
Starting point is 01:46:30 I'll probably see it one more time in theaters before it leaves. But it is a wild ride. It's so fun. A wild ride. It is a banshee. It is a banshee of events. All right. My word of the week is sure okay um sure mainly yeah this guy
Starting point is 01:46:47 used to always say it he used to annoy the crap out of me actually uh you'll actually really appreciate this so bo like for the longest time anytime you asked him any question he would say no like even like bo you like ice cream he's kind of smiling just like no but he's meaning yes half the time you know like okay um confusing it was yeah i think it's a thing that babies do a lot of times honestly um but recently he has not learned the word yes or doesn't use the word yes but he started to use the word sure sure sure and and but that's so it's so cute and so funny like he'll ask you like to do something and then you'll kind of like confirm with him and then he'll just say sure so it's like it he makes it seem like he's like yeah i guess if you really want me to i'll do this but but in reality he really wants to so like we were in the pool we were in the pool a ton um this past week and he'd be like he's he's
Starting point is 01:47:33 getting really good at like jumping off the pool or jumping into the pool like so adventurous and stuff uh but he'd be like he'd just go jump jump and i'll be like oh you want to jump out of the pool jump around he'd go sure like it was like it was like he's doing a favor to me like like boat like i want to get on the like we called the raft the boat like boat boat like yeah you want to get up on the boat sure i'm sure if you want it sounds like you want me to get up in there so you know sure you know or like you know you see a sandwich you'd be like sandwich you know oh yeah you want some food like it's like you know it's like it's like i couldn't be bothered but i guess if you're getting some food if it's out yeah throw throw a little bit my way
Starting point is 01:48:09 you know like sure sure sure and it's so cute it's so funny and because it's yeah it's just like this hilarious like he seems like he's not really wanting it the way he's sure that's what he does you know he's like very excited like ice cream you know yeah yeah i want some dessert sure sure really big eyes but saying sure yeah sure sure so anyway that's sure sure is the word of the week uh my word of the week is silence oh i've really been actually the word oh yeah not really the word more just like um i've been driving in the car in silence lately i feel like i um i drive a ton like way more than I used to just trace houses so far away. I live really far South. So like, I need to be utilizing this time more. I'm, you know, usually listening to music or podcasts, but now my drive time is
Starting point is 01:48:53 brainstorm time. I've been really enjoying it. I love that. Yeah. So I've been just mainly writing in silence for like a week now, like primarily writing standup. So that's what I do in the car now. That's awesome. I think that's, that's great's that's great because like yeah you you think that you get bored in silence but if anything i'm more entertained because i have focused yeah i have i'm thinking more rather than totally letting somebody else think for me essentially or whatever i like that exactly okay one last one really quick and then we'll get on with it because i gotta go um tool of the week great you got a tool don't have a tool oh okay you don't want to do yeah i'm gonna do it yeah you go you guys son i got sunburned like the first day at the beach amateur mistake i i let katherine
Starting point is 01:49:32 give her or give me her you know organic reef free or reef reef safe sunscreen there's no reef in this we didn't use any coral reef yes it's reef free it's like good for the reef and you know it's like it was like a year old and i was like yeah it's fine whatever catherine's big on saving the reef via sunscreen wait no we went to hawaii and it was like a big thing like you have to have reef did you did you not cool experience that oh well that's what they said at least they're like if you don't you get fined or i don't know what they say so who's police well sorry just keep going yeah exactly that's fair yeah like the the ship captain, well, let me go get you my paper. He's like taking his finger on your neck, like scraping it.
Starting point is 01:50:10 That feels like banana bones. Yep, copper tone. Just like that. So anyway, first day I got pretty burned. And anyway, so like right when we got home is when I started like kind of peeling and like being itchy and stuff. So I found this thing I forgot I even had in my bedside drawer. And it's like this thing that it'll extend and it's a scratcher. And so that's my tool.
Starting point is 01:50:34 It's literally like I'll lie in bed at night and just use this thing and just scratch myself. And it's nice. Very nice. Tool of the week. Tool of the week. My tool of the week is a character named Hangman in Top Gun Maverick. Oh, yeah. I've been told by two people that I look like him.
Starting point is 01:50:50 Oh, that's not good. So apparently I'm a tool. This guy's like a whole role in the entire movie is just to be like the antagonist. He just smirks the whole time. Smug, very smug. Very smug. Maybe he like laughs at you if you screw up in pickleball or something like that. That kind of guy.
Starting point is 01:51:03 He's got that face. Yeah, he's got that. Yeah. Sla that yeah slapable smug slap face right reviews for google so people are loving your review what's the naval academy hangman i'm pretty sure right that's his call sign yeah yeah call signs hangman that's super cool dude yeah it's so sick yeah i thought you're gonna say the TikToker from the wedding. Let's talk about that again. Let's dive into that for another 20, 25 minutes. All right.
Starting point is 01:51:32 He's my tool of the week. Because I did finally watch the movie with Scott and Rachel and Sam. And you hadn't seen the first one yet. And Buncha Cruncha. I hadn't seen the first one. I think it was something maybe my dad and I watched when I was five. But I don't remember. I don't remember anything. It's a big father-son bonding movie probably yeah did you enjoy it um
Starting point is 01:51:50 not as much as me not as much as you here's what i'll say without trying to spoil too much thank you the last 30 to 45 minutes is very very solid yeah that is really good yeah the first like hour and a half or whatever was kind of like a little slow i don't know it's just like an action movie like people are talking about this movie they're like is this like one of the greatest movies made in the last 10 years i mean people are talking about 99 percent you know user review on rotten tomatoes and i was like my god how good is this movie yeah and i watched that and in the previews here's a good comparison in the previews there was a preview for a new jordan peele movie it's a rachel and i were kind of talking about she's like have you seen this other stuff i'm like no but I heard it's so good.
Starting point is 01:52:25 She's like, you haven't seen it? And yeah, new one's called Nope. And I said, yeah, Nope, Nope, Nope. And she's like, we need to watch one of them. So like two nights later, we watched Get Out. That is what a good movie is. That is a movie. I still need to watch that.
Starting point is 01:52:37 Six different times I go, what is this movie? What am I watching right now? You know, it was like, 0% of this is predictable. I've never seen a movie like this. I feel like just, there hasn't been a good movie come out in like three years. Everyone's like, dude,
Starting point is 01:52:49 is Top Gun. Does it get better than Top Gun? And I'm like, I'm pretty sure. It feels like everyone, except for you had that opinion though. Like I, I know I'm definitely in the minority.
Starting point is 01:52:58 Like, I just think there was a ton of like, I don't know, just like stereotypical, like he's a macho guy and they have clunky dialogue because they're in the navy yeah and um yeah there's scenes i mean it's it's a they call back to the movie who like a very stereotypical 80s movie kind of cheesy romance yeah like you got those smug guys you got the banter between the the characters a lot of phrases said at the beginning of the movie are like repeated but more meaningful at the end of the movie yeah classic trope yeah there's the just the action sequences though for me like outweigh everything
Starting point is 01:53:30 and then and then the fact the fact like knowing that they filmed those in the planes like the act did you know that yeah i've heard there's no cgi or whatever so that's impressive all of the aerial sequences the actors are in the planes filming themselves. That's cool. Yeah, it does make it cool. So if you if you go into the movie knowing that you have a really big appreciation of what they did. Last thing I'll say about the movie,
Starting point is 01:53:52 Brad, what does from what you know, what does uranium do? Oh, I don't know. Right. So I don't know either. And neither does anyone who's watched Top Gun Maverick because it's a pretty good plot point
Starting point is 01:54:03 and we have no idea why uranium is bad It's a component of nuclear bombs Are you gonna spoil the whole movie for me? It was like the main thing they're trying to do is like anti uranium and it's like why who they never tell you who has it They ever tell you where we need to go. They never tell you like why he's gonna accept it like uranium uranium bad It's like why why is it such a big deal? Why were you risking human life for this like warehouse gotcha? It seems really really risky Yeah, it's the uranium gonna save thousands of lives and maybe that's why it's worth it
Starting point is 01:54:34 That's that was really missing for me. It was like they keep talking about how dangerous his mission is Okay, what is uranium somebody explain it to me? Why is this such a big deal? There's a lot of little things like that that bothered me but whatever gotcha cool uh reviews the week let's do it real quick yeah you gotta get out of here no you're fine um no you're fine no hey katherine you're fine chill out all right go go feed the kids yourself rudolph the red-nosed reindeer goes our something is what my caption or my title is from scarlet delar oh it's kind of a long one why did i choose yeah why did I choose this one? Yeah, why did you choose that one?
Starting point is 01:55:06 The only reason I started listening to this talk show is because I was looking for somewhere else besides correct opinions to listen to Jake because I loved his dry humor so much. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:55:14 I had no idea that the Ghost Runners world existed until I listened to my first episode which happened to be Caroline's birth story. Sometimes I still chuckle inside if I don't speak. I've been listening to this podcast
Starting point is 01:55:21 so much ever since I found it and besides all the subtle office references, I think my favorite part of this talk show is that Rachel and Catherine have literally made me a new woman. Whoa. Rachel and Catherine literally made me a new woman. Yeah. That's pretty cool. I kid you not. I don't know why hearing about their kindness and positivity and low maintenance-ness was the one thing that inspired me to look forward, look inward and try to improve. But they are seriously just an inspiration to me. Just ask
Starting point is 01:55:43 my fiance. I've been complaining a lot less and being a lot more positive just because I want to be like them. God bless those two. That's crazy. Yes. That is so, I can't wait to tell Rachel that she's going to love it. She's going to say, yes, yes, yes. Oh, I love that idea. Yes. Also, there's a Maroon 5 song that says, I am in misery. And my cousin and I just wanted to go to missouri just to take a pic by the missouri sign but i was like i've got to have another reason to go to the freaking midwest besides that uh now i have another reason to go to missouri maybe so do another event uh we'll see about that we'll we it's easier said than done uh also brad ask your dad where
Starting point is 01:56:20 dixie state is that's where i live that's in utah saint george half my sneezes is it really yeah take that dean georgia saint george utah all right that's where i live god bless you guys for everything kaisa guys guys uh my review of the week is from your boy ethanol great use of this might be rising up to 689 this week. It's your boy uranium. Maybe this is one of the Oregon gas boys. It's your boy ethanol. Yeah. I bet you I was texting Christian.
Starting point is 01:56:52 It's your boy E85. E85. 10 cents less. You pay with a credit card. Yeah. It's your boy ethanol. Yeah. Cash is cheaper.
Starting point is 01:57:00 Yeah. Provided by Steve Koop in Iowa. Shout out for the corn. It's your boy ethanol. Good enough for the corn. It's your boy ethanol. Give it up for the farmers. Title is Best Comedy Pod. I started listening to Ghost Hunters starting on episode one back at the end of 2021. It's been funny hearing Jake and Brad talk about the Chiefs
Starting point is 01:57:14 because I know they're going to win the Super Bowl, but they don't. But past Jake and Brad don't know that. Also, they will mention things that I completely forgot about, like the phrase, OK, Boomer, or when Trump tweeted at someone and everyone thought World War III was about to start. Anyway, great pod. It's the only one of the two
Starting point is 01:57:27 comedy podcasts I found that are... Excuse me? Comedy podcasts. Compods that I found that's clean and actually funny and both co-hosts are able to pronounce things clearly.
Starting point is 01:57:46 That's funny that he said that. Last night we were eating pasta and Bo goes, more? I was like, what do you want? More, more. And he goes, more podcasts? I was like, you want more podcasts? And he goes, more. That's what it sounded like.
Starting point is 01:57:58 He was trying to say pasta, but he couldn't do it. More podcasts. I laughed hard. So do you need to go? No, no, no. We're doing this thing. Scott's going to love it. Okay Pacas. I laughed hard. So do you need to go? No, no, no. We're doing this thing. Scott's going to love it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:58:08 Jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle. This jingle was not, is not an actual jingle. This is just called Brad sings a song. And I am struggling with the jingles guys. I don't know the songs very well. And it's a lot harder than you think to like learn a song and then learn the lyrics. Totally, totally. And I just honestly haven't had enough time.
Starting point is 01:58:22 And so this is a song, maybe I'll do a series of it where it's like, Brad was obsessed with these songs in high school. So this is a song that Scott and I know very well. So Scott might want to come and sing it with me. We'll see. It's up to you, baby. This feels like a song that we can leave in the episode because it's not even gonna be copyrighted.
Starting point is 01:58:38 It just doesn't, I've never heard of this. I don't know what it is. It's bigger than you think, in Europe. Okay. In Europe? Go ahead. Am I allowed to play? Oh yeah, Scott will know immediately. Here, Scott. Take the headphones.
Starting point is 01:58:47 Start wearing purple, wearing purple. What in the world? Start wearing purple for me now. All your sanity and wits, they will all vanish. I promise. It's just a matter of time So yeah, I'll start wearing purple, wearing purple Start wearing purple for me now
