Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, here we go. Hey, here we go. Okay, so. Hey, here we go. Last Friday night, Scott asked me to sub in for his team playing Soapage Softball. Yeah. I joined. Afterwards, I go to the concession stand because I'm thirsty.
Starting point is 00:00:15 But what do we see on the menu? Dippin' Dots. Oh, I thought you were going to say Fun Dip when you said dip. Dippin' Dots is very fun. Yeah. Concession stands are leveling up. I'm getting fired up. Immediately, my thirst is gone. all i want is those crusty little ice balls yeah and um so i'm like i will take your finest batch and he was like oh we don't have dip of dots and i was like
Starting point is 00:00:34 i mean of course why would you of course it's on the menu why would it why it's really hard to take things off the menu why would you have something that's on the menu that's my bad for ordering it and um so then i whatever i end up ordering a cherry icy or something but while i'm waiting for the icy machine to kind of kick on and he did kick it but um a man comes up and he uh says uh you know uh my first car was a ford i said okay oh yeah that's awesome great great automobiles yeah Yeah. Henry was on to something. Yeah. Right. And so then we just talked about that.
Starting point is 00:01:07 He gives me this whole story. Like, you know, it was, he's telling me cars, words I've never heard of. I'm like, oh, that's interesting. Wow. He's like, you know, the exact thing. He's like, no, I couldn't afford that in high school. I got an inheritance. I'm like, oh, of course.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I was judging you so hard. Like, he must be a trust fund baby. Yeah. And like, oh, the things I was thinking. Yeah. I'm glad that you said that. And then the only thing I had to contribute, my first car was a Ford. So I was like, okay, I can see that.
Starting point is 00:01:33 I know. Yeah, I get it. And then, I mean, any question he had about it. Now, is that the one? Uh-huh. Yeah. That was a V6, V8, 3.2. How many cylinders?
Starting point is 00:01:42 I think it was seven. V7? I don't even know if it was. It could have been spherical. Yeah, it might have been seven. I don't even know if it was, it could have been spherical. Yeah, it might have been spherical. I don't even know if it was a cylinder. It was a spherical 3.2. Oh, it seemed oval.
Starting point is 00:01:52 What are you talking about? It did have four wheel drive for sure though, because I could go in reverse. Also wheels drove. I'm having that kind of conversation with him. And meanwhile, I'm like, how long does it take to make a cherry Icy? You put it down.
Starting point is 00:02:07 You bring it back up. We're really struggling here. And then I finally get my Icy. I'm like, all right, well, good talking to you, man. He does like a double take at me. And he goes, oh. Dude, I thought your hat said Ford. I was wearing a good, good hat.
Starting point is 00:02:23 So it said the word good on it. So he was just like hey here's a young buck wearing a Ford hat. Let's talk Fords for like three to four minutes. And they say the young generation can't read cursive, right? Yeah, this old guy. It's the geriatrics!
Starting point is 00:02:38 Uh oh, ooh I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white me too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead, get on your feet. Cause this is the Ghost Brothers Podcast. Everybody morning, we're taking ground. Ghost Brothers Podcast.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Ghost Brothers Podcast. I feel like that's happened to you a lot. Like recently, like, oh, I thought you were somebody else. Oh, that's right. I've heard a lot of stories like that. Yeah, at Messenger. When he's like, oh. Oh, I thought, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Never mind, I thought I knew you. Ford, huh? Yeah, my first car was a Ford. Oh, yeah. I like how you just went with it. You didn't even say what. I just said, oh, that's awesome. That's great.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I feel like, well, I had already played like two hours of softball. I was very acclimated to the softball environment. Okay. You know, the tobacco, the, you know, like Antoine basketball shorts down to your shins. Yeah, yeah. The trucker hat, like that environment. And so I was like, you want to talk forward? Let's talk forward.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Let's talk forward. How long could a cherry ice eat take to make possibly? How was the softball experience? Oh, it was fun. It was, uh, Rachel has been out of town for, I mean, almost a week now, and I have just played sports nonstop. I am nine years old again. Yeah. You do kind of regress whenever the lady's out of town. I think like I, athletically, uh, every, in every way way like whenever i remember when i first got married and katherine went out of town i'd be i went from like a normal like pretty good like house house husband you know like keeping things clean and all of a sudden she left and i was like
Starting point is 00:04:14 you know i'm not throwing that away it's like why not you know i just like made the house oh i see you regress in like a maturity i regress in maturity yeah you regress like to a nine-year-old as far as like wanting to play sports yeah yeah yeah like i want to hang out with my friends i'll stay up till two yeah all these different things so see i'm basically a nine-year-old all the time with a wife and child present yeah yeah that's true when you were nine not that different not that different no freak the mighty you know drink just as much milk still play a lot of sports right Right. Yeah, you do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Good for you, Scott. Bless her heart. Yeah. So, yeah, Scott asked me and I was able to join. And I think the last time I played softball with Scott was the fall of 2020, you know, almost two years ago. And the main takeaway from that was there was a man in blue jeans who was saying phrases that I think, you know, no no no baseball legend has ever heard before put some green on it um let's put some green on it was great take your sister out dancing i haven't
Starting point is 00:05:13 seen anything that ugly since the oklahoma state fair oh yeah okay he's pulled that one out before where phrases like that from put a pocket in your shorts yeah i'm just saying phrases fucking in your shoes you know go see the phrases. Put a pocket in your shorts. You know. Go see the dermatologist and call him back next week. Yeah. Make that outlet a three pronger. Let's go. Come on.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Turn your hat backwards and walk after a goose. Come on. Find some rocks and blow them out your hand. That's a cumulonimbus cloud. Yeah. Pull on your ear lobes and tee it up high. Check. Both elbows are greasy. you know what that means
Starting point is 00:05:47 yep it means uh get the monkey wrench and go to town so that was what i expected him to say uh this time was a little different version and i think what set him off uh i know the situation because he repeated it back to our team about 19 times. We had two people on in the first inning and nobody out. We don't end up scoring. And I mean, I think he had placed some sort of thousand dollar wager on us scoring in the first inning or something. He was really, really unhappy. So for the next like, I mean, probably two innings.
Starting point is 00:06:18 It's a lot of just two on, nobody out, and we don't score a run. Oh, he's still thinking about it. Two men on, nobody out, and we can't score a dad gum run. How hard is it to score runs in softball? No outs, two men on, and we
Starting point is 00:06:37 got nothing on the scoreboard, you guys. So it's like, okay. Were people like how did they respond to it like were they like egging him on like serious like there was no or was it like hey dude it was kind of like calm down or is it just like everyone looks straight ahead and let him yeah it reminded me of in high school baseball there was one guy we had with an anger problem and And when he struck out, it was like, get out of his way when he comes back to the dugout.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Brady Weins. Yeah. Fody. Yeah. Be Fody. Ours was Jamie Brown. Oh, yeah. Yeah, get out of Jamie's way.
Starting point is 00:07:12 He's throwing a helmet. Do you remember we'd make fireworks noises when he'd be coming back into the dugout? Oh, my gosh. Yeah, that was mean. He'd be coming back in and you and I'd be sitting there and be like, pew, pew, pew. We'd like slide to the end of the pit. Yeah, I mean mean he's chucking helmets throwing his bat we had a kid like that and we also had a kid no matter what the score we could be beating we were about to run rule a team he strikes out no matter what he could have had three triples earlier that game he cried
Starting point is 00:07:37 every single time he struck out every single time remember that who i't know. Do we want to say? First name? John. Tall John. Tall John. Oh, H? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, crying John. They go H and then last part of his. Yeah, he was pretty emotionally fragile in sports.
Starting point is 00:07:57 We would be winning by like 15 runs and he would just strike. Everything was going great. Dang. You still would get upset. It's like, it's okay, man. Okay, bud Okay tall John, you're really tall. You're gonna be you're gonna be tall someday. Think about that. He's like an engineer now He's doing great. Yeah. Okay tall brain. He is very very Yeah, yeah tall brain
Starting point is 00:08:17 Now remind me I got to hear Scott makes a fireworks noises this week and I complimented on it You're making the Roman candle sound. I was like, dude, that's a really good I'm gonna put you on the spot. Yeah, make the Roman candle sounds good What do you think Yeah, that's that what I did. That's what I did right. It was pretty close that it was that car we heard Yeah, there was a car that literally sounded like they were driving shooting Roman candles out of the window We couldn't see anything, but it sounded exactly just an engine like it was like a tuned-up card And it was sputtering anything but it sounded exactly it was just an engine like it was like a tuned up car and it was sputtering but it
Starting point is 00:08:46 literally was like this is this episode is coming out on 4th of July so happy 4th of July everybody hey hey and to our Canadian and Australian listeners happy 4th of July happy American 4th of July to you as well yeah yeah right if you don't celebrate 4th of July you just have a have a normal fourth of july just happy fourth of july
Starting point is 00:09:07 just like yeah it's your fourth of july yeah this episode is going all over the place but did you see all the comments from the jean shorts yesterday of all the different like countries where people were from oh i did not oh you need it like because the jean shorts yeah it's like where are you from i mean name a country and i bet that... Yugoslav. Uzbekistan. Same thing. Kind of crazy. Tegucigalpa.
Starting point is 00:09:30 That's not a country. Capital of Honduras. Yeah. Honduras, maybe. I don't know. There was a lot. Okay. It was just crazy how many different countries. It was unbelievable, honestly.
Starting point is 00:09:38 It was like, I thought people were going to be like, Washington State. Turkey. Washington, D.C. Sure. Qatar. Qatar. Qatar. Yeah, D.C. Sure. Qatar? Qatar. Ireland? Didn't see it in Ireland.
Starting point is 00:09:52 France? Didn't see it in France. This is going badly. I promised there were a ton. Germany? Germany. Yes, there was Germany. Yes, there was Germany. That's really cool. I bet there were at least 50 countries that people. Okay, that's really cool. Yeah. That's how I was. It really was like, I bet there were at least 50 countries
Starting point is 00:10:07 that people named. No, that is really cool. I'll have to check that out. Spain. We're going to do this more? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Lime. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Apple. What were we talking about? Was it... How people responded to Brett. Oh, yeah. So, and like... Let's go ahead and say his name. In like the third or fourth inning.
Starting point is 00:10:26 You know who you are. Someone else finally said that guys, of course, some runs and that. And I was like, finally, somebody else is saying it. So it's pretty quiet. I'm going to tell you. Yeah. But so anyway, so that's going on for the whole like first couple innings. And, you know, I'm just like, man, that he's really like upset about this.
Starting point is 00:10:44 And it's our second time through the order we got a guy we got guys on second third okay two outs and i'm up and i'm like if we don't score here i mean do you think he would be as outspoken for the sub though i i don't know oh he doesn't hold anything back it doesn't matter how many times you played with us i don't think he would have held anything back yeah because when you sub for a for a team, especially like this, I mean, my whole goal is just don't screw up. Yeah. Don't don't be memorable.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Yeah. I was like, stick me in right field. If you are in right center, made every play that came to me, didn't hit the ball. Great. Made some good plays in the field. Yeah. Yeah. Played well on the field.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Yeah. But dude, the nerves went like, no, I'm like, I can't let blue jeans down. Yeah. And first pitch comes. And I believe it was a swing and a miss, Brad, which are you familiar with can't let blue jeans down. Yeah. And first pitch comes and I believe it was a swing and a miss Brad, which are you familiar with how fast the ball goes in slow pitch softball? I am. Yeah. So swung and missed it. It feels probably a lot like swinging and missing a golf ball. Yeah. That was pretty obvious, huh? You guys all could tell that
Starting point is 00:11:40 wasn't a practice swing. Okay. But yeah yeah just trying to like be very humorous about it because it's like that's so embarrassing that i didn't even make contact and on top of that i'm too embarrassed now to ask what the count is because i think you start off i was about to ask like does it start off one one okay i think it wasn't until the second game i asked scott i was like what are like the the rules like the how many foul balls can you whatever because i'm like if i had a foul ball on my own i don't know what's going on but i know there's two strikes okay and so i'm so scared i got i'm playing the blue jeans it's two strikes i just swung and missed uh so much softball the guy throws a pitch and this is what
Starting point is 00:12:13 i hear from the umpire as the ball is coming towards me legal when i tell you the things racing through my mind wait let me let me repeat back exactly what I heard. Leg up! Yeah. Yeah. Leg up! Leg up! Leg up! Leg up! Leg up! I don't know what he said. It sounded like he said the word legal to me. Legal.
Starting point is 00:12:37 But I'm like, you know, so this ball is coming towards me, barely moving. And it feels like I have an eternity to process the potential things that the umpire just yelled in the middle of a pitch. I'm like, legal? I just make, if you said legal, why would you, you would need to yell legal? Why is the umpire just yelled in the middle of a pitch i'm like legal i just make what if you said legal why would you would need to yell legal why is the umpire yelling anything think about blue jeans what is he going to say if i don't he's going to think i'm illegal he's not going to let me come back here dude my mind is racing it was the worst one of the worst moments of my life um i somehow some way um found a little cheat code to slow pitch softball swing as hard as you can jam the daylights out of yourself and it just bloops over to the third baseman.
Starting point is 00:13:06 That's how the Royals won a World Series. It's a pretty lame way to get on base. Two RBIs, though. But yeah, I drove in our first two runs. And afterwards, I asked Scott, I was like, what in the world was that? Did you know? Everyone else knew. I guess that's so much softball.
Starting point is 00:13:21 There is such thing as illegal pitches. If the ball, the trajectory is too high or too much of a line drive, then it's illegal. You don't have to swing at it. It's a ball. Okay. And so this guy threw me an illegal pitch. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:13:31 got a swing. He threw you in illegal, but I just heard the word. Yeah. Did not pronounce the ill because they just say it so fast. Like, okay. And,
Starting point is 00:13:42 and so, but if you swing at it, it's a, it's fine. Yeah. It's not like, it's not like, bless you. It but if you swing at it, it's a fair ball. It's fine, yeah. It's not like, it's not like, bless you. It's not like, no matter what, that's a ball. It's not like, yeah, habeas corpus.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Yeah, you don't, I don't know what that means. I get it. No, no, no. It's not like Wingardium Leviosa. It's not like Double Jeopardy. It's not like an ad hominem attack. It's not a red herring. It's not gerrymandering. No, no, no. That was great. It's not racketeering. Yeah,'s not gerrymandering. No, no, no. That was great. It's not racketeering.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Yeah, yeah. There you go. Keep going, Scotty boy. Oh, man. So it's not any of that stuff. It's just like, you know, it's like an infield fly. Like you can advance at your own risk, but you should probably stay on second. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Anyway, that happens. But this does not stop Blue Jeans. He is a train on a track with no brakes because in the rest of the night he's just so upset at any inning we don't score 11 runs per inning he's upset he feels disappointed he's crying if you strike out if you're up by 15 he would walk up and down the dugout and just say things like good grief is he a coach or is he a player it's a team full of millennials plus like this he's a player he's third baseman i will give him credit he turned a triple play it was a six four triple play it was like hard ground ball tag the guy on third step on third throw to second
Starting point is 00:14:56 bases loaded no outs yeah he turned to play so i'll give him that yeah it was a big momentum swinging play wait who did he tagged a runner on third really quickly, then stepped on third and then third to second. Yeah. Bases loaded, no outs. The base runner on third definitely froze and definitely made this pretty possible. The guy on third just didn't move.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Was it a really hard crumb ball hit to him? Okay. And what I love about Brett, and you literally will not see this with any other slow pitch third baseman, he plays even with the bag. at third that ball is I mean guys rip it at you hot corner yeah and so that's why he wears the blue jeans yeah dungarees give him a little extra padding on the shoes it's like a cup for old men oh wow yeah I'm done making babies I want to keep my knees
Starting point is 00:15:41 intact but my those knees are important Going up and down those stairs. So I'll give him credit for that. He did turn a triple play. But yeah, he was big on the good grief. I think if I ever was with you guys, I would just lean into it so much. You would be like, guys, come seriously. No, I would talk straight to him. I'd be like, I know, Brett.
Starting point is 00:15:58 I know, man. Hey, we'll get him, Brett. We'll be all right, Brett. Like, hey, come on, Brett. Come on now. Keep your head up, Brett. You know, like just always, yeah, I'm keeping my head up. I'm mad.
Starting point is 00:16:09 I know, Brett. I'm mad too. Understand me? We're all mad, Brett. All right. We'll get there though. Just try to out talk him. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Like just really lean into whatever he's doing and just like, yeah, out Brett, Brett. Yeah. Yeah. There was one time we were coming back in from the field and he just, he't say anything he just all he said was somebody say it but me somebody say it besides me and so I turn around at everyone in the field and I go let's score some runs that's my that's what I'm talking about that's exactly what I do but I would do it consistently to the point where I would I would try really hard to keep a straight face to where he doesn't know that i'm messing with them but everyone else thinks it's hilarious like that does sound like a fun role to play yeah i will say though the energy is completely different on
Starting point is 00:16:53 our team when he's there versus when he's not like when he's not there it it's just like a looser yeah there's just no wind in our sails and we're just kind of like there's no wind no we're not really fired up we're just kind of like out here to scott that's that's on you then i know i'll take his i'll assume the role hey here's a something to assume do you need to be fired up for slow pitch softball just walk up there and smack it oh it's just more fun to be fired up yeah i try to live my life fired up i feel like it's it's baseball though this is a sport you can like you can be talking the whole game yeah you know it'd be so casual it may not fire it up but like yeah making it fun i don't know what you're what you're referring to by like there's nothing you know like more racketeering
Starting point is 00:17:32 yeah just the idea of no wind in our sails sounds like that's not a winning baseball team your sailboat's gonna go nowhere you have to have a little bit of sails on he can kind of be the engine that that makes our team go so oh it's a mechanic it's an electric it's a gas powered sailboat it's a steamboat engine oh yeah i see um some other things i wrote down that he said um at one point someone just like popped up to the first spaceman probably with runners on base and he goes guys this isn't us this isn't us which i had no idea the team identity i was walking into i was like who are we no i would have liked no wind yeah i'll tell you yeah no wind at one point he called us lazy dogs i wrote that down playing with a bunch of lazy dogs you dropped a game 15 right there active dog yeah junk your dog here we go so that was a fun aspect to it another fun part was um
Starting point is 00:18:29 so i make it to third base at some point in the night and um whoever the third base coach was uh was like hey just fyi when you go home do not touch home talk about my mind racing once again. You know, I'm like, what? There you go. There you go. There you go. He touched home. There you go. He's around the area. What? There's so many like little, it's like so much etiquette.
Starting point is 00:18:54 This is a new rule that they implemented this year. It's- Don't touch home? I don't know. It's apparently to avoid collisions at home plate. So the way it works is they, yeah. I'm imagining this. Like you're just running down
Starting point is 00:19:05 there and then you're like halfway down the base path you turn around and go in the dugout that felt good enough to me yeah so they draw a line basically extending from home plate over to the fence like behind behind the home plate and what you're supposed to do is you know run you know sprint across the line and then it becomes a force out so as long as the catcher's standing on home plate and catches the ball before you cross the line you're out so there's no tag necessary that is not baseball yeah so anytime you i guess choose to run home now it's a force out yeah it's kind of weird but usually they have like a commitment line like once you pass that line you have to go there's a devo in there somewhere that's right for sure there's a life lesson yeah but interesting
Starting point is 00:19:45 i don't have time to hear this rule explanation it's like a guy is in the batter's box he's hitting like hey don't touch home don't touch home like hold on don't touch home like yeah just go to the right go go so far right how far right go right right in the umpire run home roger go home roger on like on the uphill go run home run home and yeah so i'm like what and then the third baseman who will get to him later he was like uh i'm like are you messing with me i looked at their base was like is this really he's like it is a new rule i promise i was like you could tell me anything and he was like yeah you got to skip on one foot there i was like i will do it yeah you can tell me i will do it
Starting point is 00:20:17 i will do it right now yeah um after the game we're all shaking hands i love that part of baseball oh yeah i love shaking hands on the field. Good times. And, um, get towards the end of the line. And a guy was like most, most instant famous guy I've ever played with. And then like two other guys behind him were like, I was going to say, I'm like, yeah, I thought so. And I was like, how many people on this team know who I am?
Starting point is 00:20:37 What in the world? It's me guys. And the one of them was the third baseman. His name is Jeff and you know him, Brad. Grew up with him. What in the world? Yeah. His little sister, Becca was one of my best friends growing up.
Starting point is 00:20:47 We went to church with them. What's that supposed to mean? What was that supposed to mean? Growing up, like growing up, like as you get older, like you start young and then you get older. All right. Thank you. I had friends that were girls.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Did you not have friends that were girls? No, I always ask him about growing up. That was the part I was confused about. Yeah. Thanks for explaining it. Yeah. He actually messaged me too because he he's like yeah i played baseball or played softball against jake he swung and missed is that what he said no i thought you're talking
Starting point is 00:21:11 about jeff i was like really no jeff uh made contact with the ball every time it was going at him he did not give any kind of insight in your game he said that you guys split the series one to one yep uh which i was like he seems like he seems actually like scott where he's like very competitive and like probably plays remembers the score yeah yeah knows there's one to one when you get it knows they don't have to have a dot to the concession stand that'd be ridiculous right but yeah he said the exact same line uh in the instagram text to me was uh yeah most insta famous guy i've ever played with that's so funny wow yeah that's great you gotta play great. It was awesome. With that many Insta famous people. Yeah. And so I stuck around and talked to Jeff for probably five or 10 minutes afterwards. And he's awesome. Yeah. He was talking to me about
Starting point is 00:21:53 the church he goes to. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to go to that church this week. Actually, I don't think I told him that I made that decision afterwards. Oh, cool. So I went to that Christ community, Aletha, because Rachel and I had to go to the downtown one. And yeah, I went there, really enjoyed it. Didn't see Jeff, but really had to go to the downtown one. And yeah, I went there, really enjoyed it. Didn't see Jeff, but really enjoyed it. Jeff's a liar.
Starting point is 00:22:08 So Jeff must go to late service. Talk about regressing. I'm doing just fine. I'm going to 9 a.m. service, Jeff. Yeah, do it just fine. A really cool moment as
Starting point is 00:22:20 I was leaving church because I just went there by myself. I'm walking up the stairs and I kind of weirdly make eye contact with probably like a 11, 12 year old girl. Nice.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Nice. I was going to say it no matter what you said, I promise. Honestly, what could you say there that wouldn't be funny? It's weirdly my eye contact with like a 30 year old guy. Middle aged male. Yeah. I really made eye contact with like a 45 year old mom. Middle aged male. Yeah. Weirdly made eye contact with like a 45 year old mom. With like a Bernie's mountain dog.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Oh, nice. It's funny now. Like, as I said that, I can now see a clip coming from Andrew Thurbush. Like that's going to be in one of his videos this week. The man has been on fire in our Facebook group. He's editing together like movie trailers. It's wonderful. And like, you know, 60 minutes like documentaries about brad's new
Starting point is 00:23:05 employee anyway um make eye contact with this girl and much like the johnny situation i her jaw just like drops like and then she nudges her friend and then like slaps her own mouth shut you know i think she's probably playing up a little bit but it was essentially like i have to keep myself from screaming right now yeah and uh that was really fun it was really cute and i was like i don't think i should go back down the stairs and approach the two middle school girls but i'm just gonna send a wave like hey is this is you really why is it it was big yeah i'm listening to wave so i just i stopped in the middle of the stairs at this 11 year old girl and just goes, Hey, how you doing?
Starting point is 00:23:46 Yeah. I love that. So that was fun. Another really fun part of church was, uh, during the worship one, they have a violinist cool to, uh, towards the end,
Starting point is 00:23:54 uh, the female worship leader, uh, saying the line, who will rescue me when I fail way too early, which is, uh, a good example of irony.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Just really, really jumped the gun. Seriously guys, who will rescue? I need some help here. Yeah. It was kind of like the, it kind of sounds like it's maybe coming in. It's like, who will, who will rescue? And that was a line. Is it on the screen?
Starting point is 00:24:21 Yeah. Oh, everyone knew. Cause some of the audience started joining in. Exactly. And then she stops, but the audience still goes. And then she? Yeah. Oh, everyone knew. Cause some of the audience started joining in. Exactly. Oh, okay. And then she stops, but the audience still goes and then she starts going to get, oh man. Well then the guy who hadn't been singing kind of had to come in and be like, okay,
Starting point is 00:24:32 let me six, seven, eight. Who counted in? I don't know. Exactly. But, oh, I remember I've done that plenty of times. I'm sure I've done it on both. I've been on both sides of it or like, I'll be like singing in the back or not in the mic room, but like singing in the background, you know.
Starting point is 00:24:46 And then you got to come in and kind of take over. Yeah. Recommend the audience. Yeah. Yeah. Because yeah, there's church worship leading is so interesting because it's like, it's a act of service. And so you want people like that are willing to do it, even if they're not like, like, you don't have to be like this concert performer to lead worship so it's like yeah come on like we'll teach you you'll learn kind of learn on the job basically and then every once in a while it's like oh probably should have practiced a few more times i'm really sorry for putting you in the situation and then because a lot of worship leading from what i could tell is like really like leading it It's not the singing part all the time. It's like leading an audience, leading a crowd, like being smooth, transitioning well.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Yeah, I have a really hard time with worship leaders that like make it more of a performance because then it's hard for the audience to know. If they like improvise a line and they sing it really high, all of a sudden it's like, I didn't know we were going to do that. I can't do that. As the audience member, you sound ridiculous singing the normal, like, or, you know, whatever. You don't know how to follow them. So you ever kind of, you know, when you got done singing a song, do you ever say, hey, give it up for the worship leader?
Starting point is 00:25:54 Let's give it up for the worship leader, guys. Let's give it up for that song selection this week. Give it up for the DJ. I've never, I've never been a, like any kind of, what's the word? Like vocal. Make some noise for Jesus. Yeah, I've never, any kind of, what's the word? Like vocal. Make some noise for Jesus. Yeah, I've never been that guy. I think we've talked about this on the podcast before because it annoyed me.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Give it up for Jesus. Yeah, people were like, make some noise for Jesus. I mean, I was the one performing the last 10 minutes. But this applause is not for me. It is not for me, guys. Our church does clap after most songs. And the worship leader would be like, will you praise the Lord today? And people clap.
Starting point is 00:26:26 And it's not awkward to me, but it'd be awkward if I tried to, because it would be disingenuous for me to like, all right. And I'd probably get like an Australian accent when I do it. Yeah. Let's give it up for the Lord. Yeah, no, I can see that. You know, so. No, totally.
Starting point is 00:26:39 You got to be careful. I love worship leading fails though. I think they're so funny because I know they happen all the time. And so, yeah, just want to hear more of them. So, um, this is great. We are 25 minutes in and I haven't even asked you how your week is. Sorry about that. No, it's great. No, I've been learning about your week last week. You didn't have your family and now they're back and how is it with the big bag? I love my family. And I, if you didn't know, no, that's awesome. Scott was kind of give me a look, like ask about his family. family like i'm i'm like the weird guy in the group like i
Starting point is 00:27:08 like my family i like being around quirky brad you know that weirdo australian accent loves his family you know the type yeah oh it's been awesome man i i uh i'm trying to think of it like saturday we did which member of your family has been the best oh gosh i've really been enjoying actually honestly since we've had this conversation on ghost runners last week katherine and i have had lots of good quality time together like after we talked about like yeah i'm gonna be more intentional with her like i have gotten less sleep because we've like been staying up talking and you know hanging out and just watching shows and whatnot like just being more intentional with each other um which is great. Like I've,
Starting point is 00:27:45 I've really enjoyed that. So I guess her, she's my favorite right now. Cool. So Catherine's number one right now. Catherine's always going to be number one, I think, but I'm still going to ask though,
Starting point is 00:27:52 but yeah, I'll, I'll rank my kids if you want me to rank my kids. Yeah. Let's go a little quick kid ranking. Let's go Hattie, Bo, Rosie.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Let's just be honest. Let's just go right down the list there. Chronological order. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Rosie's kind of boring to be honest. Benjamin button style, which is okay to be boring at this point because that means that she's just
Starting point is 00:28:08 sitting there doing her job sure um beau is awesome but he's also a little bit of a punk he's we're having a little bit discipline issues with him to the point where the other day katherine like like beau i forget exactly what he did he basically just defied katherine katherine asked him to do something he's kind of smiled at her and ran away. And I kind of laughed at Catherine. I was like, that's funny. Like, and she like later on, she's like, Brad, this is serious. We need to like really crack down on Bo. I'm really worried about it. He's going to go up dealing drugs. I'm really serious that we don't, but she was like, we need to be, we need to be like more disciplined with him. I was like, okay, great. I can do it. Um, but he's got to be tough.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Just, I can already see myself as a parent wanting to like be like every interaction we have with like more disciplined with him i was like okay great yeah um that's gotta be tough just i can already see myself as a parent wanting to like be like every interaction we have with him is important every interaction is building who they are becoming yeah they you know but it's like you know sometimes it does probably doesn't matter you gotta have grace on both sides like you're like okay yeah be intentional and have like a overarching theme of this is how we're gonna parent but you're not gonna be perfect at that or they're not going to respond perfectly every time. And then Hattie is just a perfect older child for the most part. Yeah. And she, she's been going to VBS this week. Yeah. What's that stand for? Vacation Bible school. Okay. Just kind of the straight up answer, huh?
Starting point is 00:29:22 Vocational Bible school. Oh, okay. Cool. You make Bibles. They take Myers-Briggs tests, but they're all biblical theme. They call it the Enneagram. Cool. So no. Yeah. She's been loving it and I don't know. Yeah. They're all, they're all awesome. You know, I have this new employee, Jake. Yeah. Your time sucker. Yeah. He's awesome. I that's, that's been probably beyond my family. The highlight of my week is just having, having him there, like, and he's just doing so good and like learning so quickly and like very intentionally, like Scott met him earlier. He's just like, awesome. He's 18 years old, but it feels like he's, he's kind of like an eyes. It seems mature beyond his years. He seems like he's 25 years. He's awesome. And so not a dairy guy, though.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Yeah, Scott brought him some chocolate milk and he said, no, thank you. No, thanks. It's like, dang. And Scott was pretty offended by it. He's like, rightfully so. He's like, Jake. And I poured a glass right in his face. I was like, look at this beautiful pour.
Starting point is 00:30:18 And you tell me you don't like this. This doesn't look good to you. This is liquid candy. And Brad's like, sorry, every new person he meets, he pours him a glass of milk. Sorry, Mr. Scott. I warned you about him. You know. It's a Mormon thing.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Yeah. He loves his milk. You know him. But he's been so fun. And it's been fun, like, incorporating my family. Obviously, I work out of my house. And so my kids come out and they love Jake. They like.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Uh-oh. Like, yeah. If I ask your kids to rank Jake's, I'm probably not worried. Yeah. Yeah. Like he left the other day and Bo just was so like, Jake,
Starting point is 00:30:50 Jake, you know, terrifying. And Hattie on the way to VBS today has this little like drawing pad. And she's like, look, dad, I drew a picture of you and Mr.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Jake in the woodshop. Oh no. The child's confused. I'm losing my identity with them. I need to be more present. Yeah, it's not football season. It's hard for me to get FaceTime with him. We're going to watch baseball games together probably?
Starting point is 00:31:11 No. No. I can't wait for Chiefs. I was thinking about that the other day. I was just like, man, I can't wait for Chiefs season to start again. We can all just get together and watch games again. Anyway, Jake's awesome. One of my favorite things about him is, so his grandparents were in town this past week
Starting point is 00:31:29 and he's from Texas originally. Jake is. And so, you know, I love like we talked about a long time ago on the podcast. Like, hey, do you have nicknames like Southern people? I feel like always have different names than grandma and grandpa. It's always we talked about this on whatever correct opinions today okay that was one of them was winky anyway and i said do you have nicknames for your grandparents he's like yeah my grandma is nana and my grandpa is big daddy oh you're telling me you're gonna be a grandpa named big daddy i was like okay i was like so you call like
Starting point is 00:32:02 like you you'll go home because he's like yeah they're getting in town today i was like, okay. I was like, so you call it like, like you'll, you'll go home. Cause he's like, yeah, they're getting in town today. I was like, you're going to go home and you're going to say, hi Nana. Hi, big daddy. And he's like, well, now we kind of abbreviate to BD, but he's like, yeah, growing up, we call him big daddy all the time. Now we just say big D. It's just shorter. You know, for the time sucking.
Starting point is 00:32:22 No, but I think, I think big daddy's awesome. I'm so glad you asked yeah i know that's interesting i was like okay yeah my grandma's so i'm a texan um you know how it is uh my grandma's name is little mama and they're just like oh yeah i guess it's a texan thing little yeah little mama old little mama little mama and big daddy big john that's fun so anyway uh he's been awesome it's been really cool uh yeah i don't know just being a boss and telling people what to do is pretty fun so boss you know oh it's really bad that pantsuit is really boss man um i got to watch br Brad be a boss for like a minute today. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:33:07 It was good. Good, good. Yeah, I'd love to work for you. It's fun. Like I never really bossed Isaac around, but I definitely helped kind of try to teach him and mentor him a little bit when he was first starting. And so it feels a little bit like that,
Starting point is 00:33:18 which is a fun memory. It's kind of nostalgic of that. Like it's like, oh, this is fun to like, I love teaching people about woodworking anyway. I think we've talked about that like how i you like you say that i'm good advice or whatever but i just like giving advice and like teaching people what i learn especially with woodworking since it's like so so i was like scott every time he comes to my shop he's like i can't believe you're a woodworker man like i would have never thought brad ellis would be a woodworker that happened again today he was like teaching him how to sand a certain piece of a table and i just had the moment again i was like i cannot believe
Starting point is 00:33:48 you do this for a living yeah so you support a family of five doing this with your hands yeah in your mouth yeah exactly both equally um yeah um keep it there so something i forgot to mention that happened in uh branson last week when i was there when got some shaved ice with a friend uh cody tarrell you know uh yetis yeah they changed their name though or like they sold the company to another family and it's a new name now but yeah the yetis parking lot yeah saw michael sloan there i gotta tell you all this how fun all this is fun yeah i had no idea he was still in branson but we talked briefly directing yeah so um but yeah i got um shaved ice with uh rachel and um cody terrell and while we were there he's like hey i want to sponsor the podcast i was like whoa okay that's exciting okay and then um someone
Starting point is 00:34:40 yelled out tiger's blood and i went got my shaved eyes and we didn't talk about it again. But I think what Cody would have wanted me to say, if I, if I had to guess is that if I had to guess, and we'll edit this out, if you don't give us our money by the time this comes out, I think I'm assuming Cody's probably on the board for Trey, Trey, Trey, Trey, no, Branson slash try likes K life uh which you know me and katherine used to work at k life we're very familiar with the ministry oh yeah and i think they are doing uh this really cool raffle slash fundraiser to raise money anyone could be a part of it anyone can win this raffle you can live wherever you want it's not just local i was saying it's probably just local well i think like i said we didn't actually get to talk about it. Oh, you didn't?
Starting point is 00:35:25 I just, I think probably anyone can win. You don't know like the exact URL that you could go to or anything like that? I mean, it'll definitely be in our description. Oh, okay. I think. But it's only a 20, once again, just assuming. I think it's just a $25 raffle ticket. $25.
Starting point is 00:35:42 You think? Surely. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Can it be like five five dollar like can you use five five dollar bills or electronic five five dollar bills two tens one five or a twenty and a five we can't do it we can't break a five fives that's fair i understand um 100 i think 100 of the proceeds go to k life so that's great they're getting all the money okay sure and k life is great and k life is great. K-Life is great. It's a ministry for young children.
Starting point is 00:36:07 I don't have to think about that. That I know. K-Life is a great ministry. But I don't know if other people would know that hypothetically in this conversation. And there actually are some pretty like massive prizes. Probably like an iPod shuffle. He didn't say that. And once again, he didn't say anything.
Starting point is 00:36:23 So I'm just assuming that some of the prizes are a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. And it says here. What? A car? Yeah. Well, and I'll let you talk about this, Brad, because it also says, yeah, 2022 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. So it also comes with like a 4x4? No, it's 16.
Starting point is 00:36:41 4x4. It's just. Is that a piece of wood? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It's's 16. Four by four. It's just... Is that a piece of wood? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It's a 16er. In the bed of the truck will be a four by four, four inches by four feet piece of wood.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Yeah. Which is awesome. We call it a 16er. Like Colorado, you've heard 16ers? Yeah. 14ers? No, no 16ers. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:57 They're different. Four by fours. One of the other prizes is just $10,000 in cash. I think. I think. I don't know how they're000 in cash. I think, I think, I don't know how they're going to pay it. I don't know the denominations. Um,
Starting point is 00:37:09 can you do it in? Yeah. $5, fives, two tens of five. And then the rest, you know, just one big check.
Starting point is 00:37:14 What? there's $500 daily prizes. Um, the raffle also, if you are happy to be local, it gets you free entry into the corn fairy tournament in Springfield. Uh, at the end of July,
Starting point is 00:37:22 the raffle is going to be on, that's just buying the raffle ticket. You don't have to win anything. You just get to go to this golf tournament for free, but Oh, wow. Just like Springfield. Uh, at the end of July, the raffle is going to be on that's just buying the raffle ticket. You don't have to win anything. You just get to go to this golf tournament for free, but Oh, wow. Just like straight up. Hey, here's your tickets. Go watch your admission. Yeah. But the drawing is July 25th. Um, $25 raffle ticket and a link is in our description, uh, where you can go and buy yourself a ticket, a couple of tickets and, um,
Starting point is 00:37:41 yeah, check out all the prizes that, uh, you can win. Okay. And like, obviously like if you don't win, like you're just going to feel really bad about yourself about just donating to this crappy organization, right? That's the thing, Brad. What? Is what? Huh? Is this ministry is impacting so many kids every single day, every single week.
Starting point is 00:38:03 We are products of this ministry. Isaac McDonald is my friend because of this ministry. Think about, well, yeah, all the people in your house. Well, not all, kind of. Kind of? I would, yeah, go on a stretch and say all the people in your house are somewhat related. I would say go out on a stretch. I would, if I'm wrong, take me out on a stretcher. I think is what it was. Brad's trying to say it's a figure of speech. I want to do a lunge and I want you guys to take me out while lunging.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Go out on a downward dog. Oh, look, after you said, do you say go on a stretch? I was like, yeah, I did.
Starting point is 00:38:35 I'm going to go out on a chaturanga here and say, every member of this house came from K-Life. Okay. Something there's, there's some connection there, whatever. Um, anyway, so that's that. That's one. There's some connection there. Whatever. Anyway. So that's that.
Starting point is 00:38:47 That's once again, it was a conversation I think we could have had, but unfortunately I had to go get my shaved ice so we didn't get to have it. But it is pretty cool. Well, thanks, Cody,
Starting point is 00:38:55 if you do end up sponsoring the podcast someday. So Try Legs K-Life, you could probably Google it. Try Legs K-Life Google. Uh-huh. Dot com. But the link will be in the description.
Starting point is 00:39:08 The link will be in the description as well, if you know where I have to get there. So what's it like to buy your first cryptocurrency on Kraken? Starting point is 00:41:19 Yeah, cool. That's fun. Thanks. Do you know I'm going to Branson this weekend? Everyone's going to Branson. Derek went to Branson last weekend, and he even told me, he's like, I'm sorry, but I'm just going to branson this weekend everyone's going to branson derrick went to branson last weekend and he even told me he's like i'm sorry but i'm just gonna copy your trip i was like dude don't say sorry do exactly what i did i'll i'll give you the exact itinerary yeah yeah please do it and he did they went to a lot of the same places
Starting point is 00:41:35 he took his wife to dixie stampede i just saw that someone posted in the facebook group that their son is at the dixie stampede right now and she was like my son is dixie stampede when he told me he was going he was confused how i knew so much about it that's great somebody said uh branson sounds a lot like pigeon forge and i i don't i've never been to pigeon forge but i don't listen to hip-hop good for you yeah little little mama's has as close as you get a little pigeon forge a little forge a little Porridge. Oh, yeah. That was a great battle. Porridge.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Porridge. Oh, yeah. Nice porridge box. Oh, yes. Great YouTubers. Porridge. Porridge. There you go.
Starting point is 00:42:15 What are we going to say? I'm going with Hattie for 4th of July. Just Hattie and I are going down. What? This weekend? Yeah. Dang, I'm going to miss you. It's going to be fun. I'm going.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Yeah, I'm going down. It's going to be quick like Sunday and then leaving late Monday. Like we're going to see the. It's going to be fun. It's going to be quick, like Sunday and then leaving late Monday. We're going to see the fireworks at camp and then go back. Why don't we do a father-daughter trip? Me, you, Palmer, and Hattie sometime. I'm trying to think about reasons why I don't want to do that with you, but I can't think of any. Right?
Starting point is 00:42:37 There's no reason why. Dude, Palmer and Hattie are buds. They get along real well. Do you guys? Find a daughter and bring her Yeah, well, I mean like car seats take up quite a bit of the backseat like a seat But if you want to squeeze in the middle of one of those, you know back seats you have an elite baby. Okay, cool Yeah, we could also bring the elite with us. Thanks you guys. I'm really pumped out to take Hattie We're she's never been to camp, obviously.
Starting point is 00:43:06 But next year, she'd be eligible to go to camp. Oh, yeah. You were talking about this. Just to go and show her. That's such a good idea. This is such a good idea. Because obviously,
Starting point is 00:43:14 it's an intimidating, high-energy place. So the first time you walk in, and of course, everyone wants to make you feel so excited about camp. But I just know Hattie well enough to know she walks into something like that,
Starting point is 00:43:23 she's going to be overstimulated, scared, like, whoa, what's going on for a second? Yeah. And I think Hattie will be fine. But talking to Trey recently about summer camp stuff, it's kind of over my eyes. Like I think about Kanakuk, like everyone is going to have a good time. You know, it's it's so great. But it's like Trey's not scarred, but he was such a shy, quiet, you know, just. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:44 What's that word? Not a introvert. Introvert is a tricky word he was so introverted that none of these like summer camp things ever applied to him and then because he was quiet they wanted to give him more attention right we're gonna get him up here flex your muscles for everyone it was my nightmare Trey so strong Trey so strong they were always like little like six year old kids
Starting point is 00:44:11 like the scrawniest looking kid and they're like hey just FYI little Jackson's been home sick so let's try to get him up on stage
Starting point is 00:44:17 and like give him the bumblebee award yeah so you get him up there and they're like flex your muscle or show your guns or whatever
Starting point is 00:44:23 and like after like 10 seconds of it He'd finally just be like like barely Can't was so good about that. Yeah. Yeah, you go nuts you like spit your drink out and stuff i bought in yeah i bought it i bought into all that stuff like like go crazy for it i was like i will go crazy every time you know like that was my that was my thing i loved all that stuff um so anyway i think that'll be smart yeah it'll be fun we'll go to camp and i mean all of camp does fourth july upright but k country they just go crazy for it
Starting point is 00:45:05 and they just go gangbusters down there i tell you i mean i tell you what it's just wild down there okay um she's really pumped about the hot dogs okay and maybe some snow cones you know oh yeah we can say shaved ice now she's gonna be pumped about new yetis yeah i already forgot the name oh it's called swix actually swix yeah that's cool how about that you think they're diversifying from cincinnati no no i think it's unrelated bible school it stands for uh no i do not actually just a coincidence uh that's really fun though that'll be a fun weekend this weekend for me the coops are coming down the triplets are coming up just coming oh so they're meeting in the middle and you're okay in kansas city fun where i live
Starting point is 00:45:44 fun which is fun, yeah. Scott and I were talking about it a little bit and maybe Harrison and I, just different friends, like, how are you feeling? And I was like, so excited. Yeah. This is uncharted territory for me.
Starting point is 00:45:53 I've never like dated anyone longer. I've never like merged families before. Right. What's that called? The great... Mergers and acquisitions. Mergers and acquisitions, yeah. Great migration is what's getting married.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Yeah. To become... How's getting married. Yeah. To become, how does it work? Don't. Okay. Don't ask. But anyway, so there, yeah, that's going to be really fun. I'm trying to like plan a bunch of fun stuff for us. And we're going to, the thing we did for Harrison's birthday, that game show battle room.
Starting point is 00:46:21 I got a room booked there. I got a golf tee time for everybody. Dinner. It's supposed to storm all day Saturday. So that's awesome. That's really cool. You watch Dumb and Dumber on Netflix again? I still have the old TV.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Yeah. We can hold a cram in my closet. Has everybody seen Top Gun Maverick? Oh, Scott. Yeah. Scott just said this like, have you guys seen this video? I got an idea.
Starting point is 00:46:43 The show time's at 10, 1, 4, so I mean, you could just, whenever it storms. I can guarantee you everybody's going to have a great time. And I guarantee you Scott would come. Yeah, Scott's like, I bring Palmer. She hasn't seen it yet either. I really should introduce her. I wonder what her reaction to that movie would
Starting point is 00:47:00 be. Daddy, I'm scared. Yeah. So yeah, it'll be fun they all they all met and hung out a little bit at f12 right but that was like that was the first time and i think my dad and uh mr coop have exchanged a few text messages fun how about that yeah i would love to see the thread gosh because i'll tell you this is how my dad texts everyone these days text steve coop hello period excited to see you next weekend period have a good one period i like it so that's how his text gets sent he and from what i know from rachel's dad i think he might be typing on a typewriter and it's having someone transcribe it
Starting point is 00:47:41 to digital form right yeah he writes it down on a piece of paper. I just want to make sure it all looks good. Says, Hey, can you use the T9 thing to make that happen for us? No problem. I guess they got him an iPhone. He's been like, you know,
Starting point is 00:47:54 he's been using something that's like borderline a toaster oven for the past eight years. You know, it's like, how does this even get reception? And they got him an iPhone and he just hates it. He's like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:48:02 What? How are these so popular? Yeah. Oh, wow. I've never heard this's like, I don't know. How are these so popular? Yeah. Oh, wow. I've never heard this take before. I don't know. Good question. I remember my dad got an iPhone for the first time.
Starting point is 00:48:10 He was like amazed by it all. And he's like, and this thing has a camera on here, too. Right. And that's it. Take camera. It can take pictures. Right. And I'm like, yeah, that's like the 18th most important thing you can do.
Starting point is 00:48:21 You don't need to go out on a warrior to hear it does that. All right. Yeah. Thank you, Scott. Wait, say it again need to go out on a warrior two here it does that all right thank you scott wait say it again just go out on a stretch just that joke okay yoga position yeah i got you i'm all out that was my last no that's great that's great go out on a shavasana you know oh that was the word i was trying to think earlier yeah um anyway brad now you say one go out on a downward dog good downward dog go out on a hakuna matata a cobra that sounds made up has your dad come around on the phone yeah he's okay yeah he's he's very good at like uh texting but he does he does uh hunt and peck one finger kind
Starting point is 00:49:02 of thing but i mean long texts oh really lengthy yeah like very like like kind does he does he does uh hunt and peck one finger kind of thing but i mean long texts oh really lengthy yeah like very like like kind does he does he ever text or i guess well he didn't text me this year he normally texts me on my birthday probably because you don't have facebook anymore so he's not yeah he doesn't know it's your birthday but i love that he's like intentional about like yeah he knows it's my birthday yeah he says hey there scott yeah that's like that's like his inside joke with scott forever because of that chris farley you know the doubles hey there oh yeah yeah we thought that was so funny back in the day and my dad did too so yeah that's great hater scott hater scott um i just realized that your dad texted both of us in a group chat and i never responded and i feel like i am infamous for not responding to your dad like i bet your dad thinks
Starting point is 00:49:44 like that is like a personality flaw of Brad's is that Brad never responds to texts. And I don't think that's really, I think sometimes it takes me a while, but I, he, he texted us. I'm only about two minutes into the podcast and I'm screaming at my son. I cannot believe he's complaining about Rachel misplacing items. I'm going to put together a list of everything he's lost. If he could see me now, the systems I have in place, I am a man among other men.
Starting point is 00:50:10 That's right. Just normal. We're all men. I probably didn't need to say that sentence. But yeah, I think what he's probably thinking about is, I remember he got really upset at me. One of the biggest basketball games of my life. I left either my shoes or my jersey at home.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Oh, wow. And he had to go back and get it. Actually, there may have been a couple instances where I left sporting equipment at home. Okay. And now that I'm saying this, it just reminded me of when Isaac and I went all the way to Springfield last Easter
Starting point is 00:50:37 for a pickleball tournament. Without your paddles. And I didn't bring a single piece of equipment with me. I had to go to Academy Sports that morning and buy balls, paddles, and shoes. so i guess morning equipment is tough for me but otherwise i mean i've kept the same wallet i've lately all winter long i use the same chapstick i've been doing good with that yeah that's impressive thank you that is impressive yeah yeah i don't think i've ever finished a tube of chapstick you'll get there baby thanks um you're good there man anyway that's that's fun yes that's my that's
Starting point is 00:51:05 my weekend hi fourth july happy independence um i have a few mediocre life updates for you okay number one i listened to i've been listening to a cd this week compact disc compact disc uh do you remember the mixed cd that the ghost runners fan gave us yeah so yeah i was gonna be my like biff of the week a few weeks ago. Um, but I, I found that recently and I had, honestly, I'd never listened to it. I'm sorry to say, I'll be honest, but I was, I have a CD player in my truck and I pushed it, the CD in the CD player and it kind of accepted it, but not really. And so I just, just a classic Brad move. I was like, well, I guess I just need to push it in there harder no yeah and so I shoved it in there and I it like it like went in the thing but just didn't didn't work I don't I don't
Starting point is 00:51:50 know what happened so I was like well I guess I just lost that cd forever and it's gone and maybe there was another cd on top of it like this is a semi-new truck to me so I was like I've never used a c player who knows where a cd is a cd could be in the engine right now like how far did I push it in and so just the other day I don't know why i had the the thought to do this but i took a straw and kind of like jimmied the straw underneath the cd and like kind of shook it a little bit i love the phrase jimmy i jimmied it i love that and you know you've grown up when you're using it's a great verb yeah yeah so i jimmied i jimmied hard with the straw and all of a sudden it kind of like made that noise like, you know, like it's starting to go. Oh, when it's like loading the CD.
Starting point is 00:52:28 And there it goes, first song, Circle of Life. So it was like, jimmy, jimmy, jimmy. Ha! Surprise me, ha! And I was like, ha! We have life. And it was wonderful. Obviously it was like a CD of songs
Starting point is 00:52:40 that was like curated for me, but I didn't make it. But I was at the same time i was like like pleasantly surprised this is a really good cd yeah you know yeah and it was a it was a weird pleasure to be able to enjoy a cd and also be on my phone and not have to like think about the fact that they're tethered together sound wise really that kind of give you some trouble sometimes knowing they're tethered yeah tough mentally on it's like oh i want to watch this video on twitter real quick oh can't tether can't take takes away the circle of life tetherball um so yeah it was it was a great time so thank you i honestly i had thrown away the compact disc decoration art and like
Starting point is 00:53:17 all like the name on there so i forget who did it so i'm really sorry but whoever made that just know i really enjoyed it bless you bless you excuse me i sneezed um mediocre life story let's go back and forth uh i went to that going going gone store i don't know if we talked about on the podcast off the podcast whatever doesn't matter um had a good time there bought some stuff and um a guy uh i go to check out and he was like i was like hey uh ready to check out he goes register one he's like okay pretty all like, hey, I'm ready to check out. He goes, register one. I was like, OK, pretty. All right. And so I go to register one.
Starting point is 00:53:47 And then he's like, hey, how's your day going? It's like, OK, he is a nice guy. Yeah. And I was like, dude, it's going. It's going great. I'm having a good morning. You know, whatever. It's my first time in here.
Starting point is 00:53:58 It's been awesome. But what about you? How's your day gone? Too early to tell. Oh, one of those. OK. OK. I've one of those. Okay. Okay. I've never heard that answer before.
Starting point is 00:54:08 The day should always start out good. Yeah. And then go downhill if it gets going downhill. Yeah, you just start out null. Too early to tell. Yeah, I don't know. Nope, bad. And it was, yeah, then it made me feel like the idiot.
Starting point is 00:54:19 He's like, I can't believe you answered it. Obviously, it's too early to tell. Gotcha. Yeah. What is it, 1 p.m yeah it's only like half the day you have no idea how your day is going you moron and so i was like oh sorry i felt bad i was like you're you're right sorry i asked you how's your it was like 10 45 a.m so like how's your morning going he's like i'm at work all right thank you register one thanks for
Starting point is 00:54:42 the stuff yes thank you. More like register fun. Okay. Keep the change. You don't do that here? Okay. I'll take it. Okay. Yeah. I forgot.
Starting point is 00:54:50 I paid in card. Yeah. Credit card. Yeah. So you guys do children's miracle now? No. Okay. No.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Okay. I wouldn't have tipped it anyway. Yeah. No. Not this time. Yeah. It's tax deduction. Too early to tell.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Yeah. Okay. Well, on the opposite of that, Scott and I just went to Quick Trip, a mediocre live update for us. This guy, you know, Quick Trip, they always have like such quick interactions trips um and so often uh they'll just be like all right like see you later is what they usually say this guy for whatever reason they do they're such they are so quick they're truly yeah it's so known for that like yeah yeah so like a 10 person line will come we'll go and like they can like do a triple wheel dude there's three wielding yeah it's it's awesome yeah each computer has like two spots but then sometimes they'll be like i can take somebody
Starting point is 00:55:32 over here and like somebody's working four spots at once a lot of businesses specifically water burger could learn from what quick trip is doing that's a whole another topic the one hurricane city is i'm not even gonna go there because it's not worth it yeah keep um so anyway this guy like he what's it 1993 this guy's 1994 1994 this guy's been working for Quick Trip forever assistant manager still just hasn't quite yeah okay that's all right I bet he's still making some money though he's doing just fine and he said you know he's doing 1994 you're seeing okay thanks a lot and he goes have fun yeah oh just kind of threw it in at the very end Scott and I were like that's an awesome phrase yeah like we need to tell people more okay thanks a lot and he goes have fun yeah oh just kind of threw it in at the very end scott and i were like that's an awesome phrase yeah like we need to tell people more often when we're
Starting point is 00:56:09 leaving like okay have fun yeah let's see i have fun so this lady held the door actually i think i do that do you hold on sorry let me think about it more i think i do that have fun yeah i think i say that a lot okay i think i say it's isaac when he leaves all the time i'm getting excited now thinking about it yeah okay i think i say have fun all the time i like it all right okay scott what were you gonna say i was gonna say because these these two ladies held the door for us as we left and brad and i were both like okay have fun thank you very much have fun like they're just walking into a toy store yeah i can guess it hey have fun in there yeah it's a deal on taquitos today have fun yeah taquitos are warm have fun so anyway tell that to the guy at uh going going gone next time yeah hey have fun have fun i think
Starting point is 00:56:50 i say that i'm excited i like i'll have to confirm with isaac or rachel or anything but i think that's how i end interactions yeah i like the idea of have fun let's let's make it a ghosty a mark of the ghosty you know some there's marks something in revelation now we have marks of the ghost all right hey have fun um mediocre life story uh we were all three of us were hanging out um i don't know who was there when it happened but we all played pickleball this weekend big crew of us meadowbrook park um and an ice cream truck pulls up i get pretty fired up thinking everyone else will also be excited. Not necessarily the case, but it didn't didn't, you know, deter me. I walk right over there.
Starting point is 00:57:30 I so smart. So smart. Yeah, I walked over a big arm movement and I walk frozen stuff here. Is that what you guys do? I walk right over and it's kind of a not. Well, whatever. Doesn't matter. I just walk up.
Starting point is 00:57:40 You guys open right now because there's no music going. You kind of got to like make some inferences like this seems ice creamy let's hope there's ice cream yeah honestly the question you guys open was a little open-ended on my end i should be like are you selling ice cream right now yeah yeah not just like hey big white van he's open oh brother we can be as open as you want you doing business right now yeah you giving anything from the back yeah okay great right how much do the doors slide you unlocked and how bald are your tires is it pre-packaged how bald are your tires all right anyway when was the last time you got an oil change just yeah okay okay okay so they are open for business or no sorry the whole story is i was
Starting point is 00:58:31 like are you guys open right now and he goes i mean i'm here for like church kids but okay and so i was like great he said okay and so go, I pay $3 for a bomb pop, which seemed high, but I was like in flesh. No worries. I get this bomb pop and she was no shorter than 11 inches. I got my money's worth. It was a big old bomb pop. And that was fun. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Come to find out later. Little Hattie, little Palmer, big Catherine, just not moderate size. Catherine, whatever. Adult, adult woman. Catherine. Big whatever. Adult adult woman, Catherine. Big Sam, not big. She was smaller. They're normal size. She's bigger than children.
Starting point is 00:59:12 Yeah. Walk over there. And turns out ice cream's free. They got a ticket somehow. I think. Yeah. Somehow they're part of the church. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Sam was walking back with the girls. She's like, turns out it's free. We're like really now brad's excited now big daddy's gonna get a bomb pop you got dipping dots i don't see it on the menu so maybe you do have it so that means that you probably do uh yeah that was fun i i actually wrote down in my notes as well like shout out to gunner i was gonna read his text i have it pulled up oh yeah let's hear it it yeah gunner's i love gunner's text messages we've talked about on the podcast before but like obviously you have the the kate and the casual
Starting point is 00:59:50 misspelling of words that should never be misspelled ever he misspelled the word but to me last week oh yeah yeah case roll so yeah just totally out of the blue we get a group text from gunner that says picture this and that's bold Yeah. He's a big fan of the subject. Yeah. Yeah. Subject line. Picture this. It's 2 p.m.
Starting point is 01:00:09 On the Lord's Day. We got a blanket set up with cute kids laughing and playing posted up at Meadowbrook next to the pickleball courts with some of us playing spike ball, some of us playing pickle, some walking, but everyone is smiling glasses, smiling glasses, emoji or sand in our toes playing volleyball, volleyball emoji, or we are all sad at home wishing, wow, what a beautiful day.
Starting point is 01:00:30 And what could have been, could have been not could have been doing dishes and laundry. And no one is smiling. That's it. Yeah. That was great. It was just like the most perfect day on weather wise Sunday. So I loved it.
Starting point is 01:00:43 He organized that and he organized whatever that was two weeks ago the nba finals uh get together as well and saturday the day before the day we were all smiling i went wakeboarded with him yeah like i said i just non-stop sports yeah yeah he's just he's just a social guy and i love it yeah i appreciate him doing that because i i was very excited to do that I was like, I didn't think to text all those guys. He got a huge crowd there. Yeah, there was there was two full courts. It reminded me in college when I would go, I would plan my class schedule around lunch. I wanted to have like a two hour lunch so I could get multiple waves of people
Starting point is 01:01:17 like I could get people up noon lunch and one o'clock lunch. Yeah, it felt like that at Meadowbrook. I got like the 2 p.m. wave and I got the 330 wave. Yeah. So I got to hang out with everyone. Yeah, because a lot of us had to come later because our kids were napping and so yeah and I was napping yeah yeah I was nine year old Scott was napping Scott's like I mean can we do like 4 4 30 because I'm gonna need a big nap yeah I was like give me a break dude it was nice yeah shout out to Gunnar okay uh life story. Ooh, I'm a big fan, as I think we all are, of complimenting people when you have something
Starting point is 01:01:49 nice to say about them. Yeah. It backfires every once in a while. Okay. And let me tell you when this happened. Hey, you smell good. Thanks. It's my underwear.
Starting point is 01:01:56 Like that. Yeah. That's a good one. Do you remember when you did that? Yes. Okay. Jennifer McNellig. I'm so sorry, Jennifer.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Married my age. McNellig. Married my best man for my wedding. Casey, uh, shout out. McNulloch. Um, okay. So I was at McLean's and long story short, I woke up one time taking a nap and the TV was on. I think I was watching a NFL game or something. And after the NFL game got over,
Starting point is 01:02:25 it was like a previous recording of this church service, Church of the Resurrection, which is like one of the biggest churches in Kansas City. And I saw this woman singing that looked exactly like this McLean's lady.
Starting point is 01:02:36 But it was back in the day where everyone was wearing masks. So I was like, that's got to be the same girl though. They look very similar. That's bold. Yes. That's a bold assumption why no it's not
Starting point is 01:02:46 you can't see half their face on the tv screen the mouth is pivotal in the face it's amazing how different these people have looked once they've taken the mask off yep yep i had a girl i was crushing on in 2020 really mask come off whoa whoa i regret it but but I'm committed because her parents are coming down this week. Just kidding. We love you, Coops. The volleyball roster picture looked a little better than the in-person picture. That's right. They must really put a lot of makeup on. Yeah, they do a lot uh retouching for those photos
Starting point is 01:03:25 anyway but i i was convinced and this was like months ago like i said it was during the football season or something uh and so finally i was like i'm feeling in a good mood today i was going through the drive-thru i was like and by the way do you go to church of the resurrection and she goes no and i was like well are you sure no i think i even said i think i know i think i said do you sing at church of the resurrection and she goes no i mean my my grandparents go there though and i had nothing i was like what do i i was like oh i swear you look just like this girl that sings there when you wear your mask and i watch her on tv from a distance and i'm half asleep like waking up at one in the morning to a rerun of this thing. You guys look identical.
Starting point is 01:04:06 Man, you guys look similar. And she was a really good singer. Are you sure it's not you? Man, the pipe's on you. That's how you should have led. Yeah. So just FYI, I'm still an advocate for complimenting people, but just know that there is a chance it can get awkward.
Starting point is 01:04:22 So I was just like, I think she's a good singer and nevermind. I'm not gonna say, I think there's reasons that maybe she's insecure about herself. And so I wanted to be very kind to her. You're like quick to compliment. Yeah. Yeah. And so I was going to say this nice thing and instead it just got awkward. Yeah. And it's like, I've seen you so many times at McLean's. I haven't said anything. And now this is going to be like what you remember me by is like this weird interaction. I think you and I are similar where we have pretty good memories. And sometimes I push it too much because I believe in myself or just I want to like, you know, potentially show that I remember who it is.
Starting point is 01:04:57 So this isn't like a fan interaction. This is like a person I worked at camp with in 2012, you know, and it's like, maybe I get one thing right. I'm like, yes, Marissa. She's like, yes it's like maybe i get one thing right i'm like yes marissa she's like yes and then i just start snowballing i'm like texas a&m and she's like no i was like oh oh that's a texas school yeah and then she's like no i'm like it has like it has like multiple okay but something with long horn so right is there a like a horned school yeah whatever and i just go on that's happened long. Long Beach State. Oh, OK.
Starting point is 01:05:25 OK. New South of here. Yeah. Yeah. I'll do that for sure. Just like, no, I think I know. I can remember. I'll find it.
Starting point is 01:05:33 And it's like, this is getting awkward, dude. Just shut up. Just let her say whatever she's going to say. Right. Yeah, that's good advice. Yeah. What else was going to say? Mediocre life update or life story, whatever I'm um we uh trey and i kind of fun announcement trey and i are starting another channel
Starting point is 01:05:50 yeah um and i'm on a roll with the channel names jean shorts girls gone mild new one that i also named mood swings my favorite out of the three for sure name really name wise name wise name wise anyways guys guys guys guys jeames first my favorite let me get ahead of it me you understand me mood swing name wise though i think mood swings is such a great name thank you if you guys are wondering what does mood swings mean this is a channel about birth control and the effects it has on your hormones it's not it's not it's not oh haha yeah it's golf um it's a play on words with golf yeah um yeah i kind of got the ball rolling a little bit ago trace people talk to somebody it doesn't matter basically we're starting a golf
Starting point is 01:06:30 channel and we went out we actually shot our first stuff today i don't know when it'll be out maybe a couple weeks from now we don't know yeah but shot it today i had a pretty good time it's interesting though golf does not some yeah it was my first day ever filming golf and it doesn't seem like a sport that caters to youtube vlog content you know it's just like you really need to be like quick you need to be efficient and um yeah i was so frazzled all day you know like both one from a standpoint of like i'm trying to play good golf but we're out there to entertain people you know our brand is ford golf sorry what oh yeah and if our both of our like balls are within three foot it's like all right
Starting point is 01:07:05 that's forward forward forward yeah that one's forward yeah and so you know we're trying to be entertaining we're trying to like interject humor and entertainment into golf so what i'm really thinking about like what's something funny i could say after this or like right as i'm about to hit this but all the while we had these old men behind us and i will say we were not slow we were like catching people in front of us we kept having to wait for them but these old men behind us i think they just saw the camera or the tripod out sure and they sure sure sure and they they yelled at us probably three or four different times i've never been yelled at at a golf course before yeah give me it come on like that yeah i've never been yelled at and we had so it was like it just made me so
Starting point is 01:07:44 frazzled i really did not like that and because like guys we're you know like we can't even hit they're on the green um and so that happened multiple times they came up to us like do you guys have permission from the clubhouse to be doing this and we're like no and then we just drove off it's like i don't think it's illegal what we're doing i don't know maybe it is but we were just honest with them like no and then um so then other people from the course are coming up to us and they're um they're like hey uh and they're like well looks like you guys are keeping pace and i was like oh did somebody complain about us he's like yeah those guys behind you have called up a couple
Starting point is 01:08:16 times about you guys dude freaking golf dude if somebody's yelling come on at me i'm teeing one up and hitting it at them like truly i would do that well these guys were probably 78 and one of their names is probably ulysses so i don't know if i would old guy with a golf ball before okay i'll do it again scott doesn't see age good for you i see rudeness i don't see it yeah it was crazy they just they had the nerve to yell at us so many different times and multiple people from the golf course would come out and be like i mean there's nothing you can you can do like thank you for like vouching for us yeah and derek made a good comment uh so there was you know different people that are raking the bunkers or
Starting point is 01:08:52 watering the green and all these younger people like this is so cool like what are you guys filming and we're like we're starting this youtube channel like that is so awesome like how can i watch how can i subscribe and derek was like that is such a like generational gap you know the old men are yelling at us and the derrick was like that is such a like generational gap you know the old men are yelling at us and the young people are like this is the coolest thing that you guys are doing this yeah so kind of just uh to be expected just everyone's living up to their stereotype a little bit they're just they're just seeing the camera and they're like these guys must be taking longer than they need to i think so yeah it's like okay but even if we didn't have this
Starting point is 01:09:20 there's no chance we'd be any faster we can't yeah i mean there's four subs all around us there's just two of us like we were going as quick as possible and tell tell me how golf works i i know so there's a club oh yeah a ball yeah hole yeah hole okay so shot point okay scott okay you can you can sign up for like a tea time swing but can you all can you not just like i don't know like in the future like sign up for an extra tea time that's like a ghost player kind of thing you could one you'd have to pay for it well yeah but if you're trying to make money off of channel and two i mean it's pretty likely that the people behind you are going to catch up to you anyway um so my idea was that we get like scott and isaac big yadi yeah i'll take a while yeah just like take your time yeah a buffer like they know you know just play normal yeah um or maybe like intentionally uh you know stall a few times
Starting point is 01:10:16 hey actually we're trying to get a good shot here so could you just like really you know if this one yeah because if you reserve one the starter is going to look at a sheet like, well, that group didn't show up. So you guys can go ahead and just send the next group. Just like that. Like he's Santa Claus. That's how all starters talk. Might as well go ahead.
Starting point is 01:10:33 OK, boy, you boys are checked in. All right, get out there. That really was. Yeah, it was great. Oh, this is kind of fun, too. I didn't write this down. I forgot I got there early. It's like first time ever being filmed playing golf.
Starting point is 01:10:45 I want to have a good. I'm going to go to the range early. I mean, I'm a year into golf. This is crazy. We're even like about to film ourselves. It doesn't even seem right. Go to the range and it's closed. I'm like, oh, why is the range closed?
Starting point is 01:10:55 He's like, we got robbed last night. Oh, that was not the answer I was expecting. What? And so they closed the range. So your range is closed? He was like, they did something. Those don't seem correlated. We took all our balls. seem correlated took all our balls seriously some ball thief came by talking about a pervert no um they did something with the ball picker um and so he's like so we don't have a way to
Starting point is 01:11:17 pick up balls right now we're trying to do it by hand but that's taking a while so by the end of it i felt really i was like oh i'm so sorry what you're having to go through so i just um got there an hour early and just putted and boy did i putt and i putt and i putt uh but out of the 13 holes we shot today i made three birdies because of putting i think so that's that's big yeah um it's bird so yeah it was fun i don't know when they'll come out but mood swings what uh what what kind of themes are the videos like what they playing a game, like competition of something different in one of them? Or give us a little teaser. Good question. So, yeah, in four hours, we got to play 18 holes of golf and film four videos.
Starting point is 01:11:54 So it's pretty efficient and fun. One of them, which is kind of your classic sketch, like skit video, every type of golfer. It's going to be a mess for Derek to edit. So in the midst of these golf vlogs, we're doing these jokes. But these jokes don't go in that video. They in the other the joke video it's like you should have brought a different camera like this is the joke camera this is the skit camera right um and so we would do that so like one video is like every type of golfer and then the other three were like different just like head-to-head um versions of golf so one was like uh we've never seen anyone
Starting point is 01:12:23 do this we didn't come up with it but no one's done it on YouTube that we saw. It's called like a reverse mulligan. You familiar with the term mulligan? You think Mulligan's Island, the old show? No, but so like, like, let's say I hit a bad shot. I would like to take a mulligan. I would like to redo. OK, I'm allowed to do that.
Starting point is 01:12:40 I have unlimited mulligans. But for every mulligan I take, it gives Trey what we call like a reverse mulligan. So now if I hit a really good shot, he can make me redo it and have to hit it again Okay, kind of a fun format So we did like three holes of like reverse Mulligan and then the other two videos were like five holes I've just straight up head to head one where we were like trying to talk and banter and be fun in the moment and another One where all we did was play and we're gonna commentate it and like narrate it later Okay, you know so we have more time to think of jokes. So gotcha. Try it for like pretty
Starting point is 01:13:07 different styles of video. Let's see what sticks, see what people like. Yeah. And, um, go from there. That'd be fun. Thanks. Thanks for asking. Yeah, sure. Thanks for being excited. Thanks for liking the name. Mood swings. Seriously. Mood swings. I really need to understand the motive behind the range picker thief. Like what? I don't, I'm so confused yeah i might call Swope and be like what'd you guys figure out here yeah Swope doesn't have a range so it's heart of america so call them oh gotcha yeah heart of america heart of america maybe there's a black market for range pickers or just be an epic story when you're a high schooler like yeah remember we stole that range picker yeah we did donuts on the range drove it to quick trip and the guy said have fun at the end of it so we are
Starting point is 01:13:48 yeah my gosh so okay i have part of america that's today i have one more mediocre life story for you okay uh i met a royals player the other day oh what do you mean uh royals are the um baseball players oh i'll say you meant like from the royal family yeah like no terry yeah no he's not a player well uh prince charles andrew whatever yeah i don't know i don't know which was which um whichever one went to epsi's island a lot no uh exactly shout out to uh ghosty in oh my gosh you got hey hey come on bud hey bud come on but andrew andrew shooty that's his first name that's his yeah i was in oh my gosh you got hey come on bud hey bud come on bud andrew andrew shooty that's his first name that's his yeah i was like oh my gosh this is a guy you should definitely know yeah i
Starting point is 01:14:31 know i i totally blanked on his first name for a second um i was like we always we always just call him shooty shoots i really do my head yeah whatever shoots creek shoot man shoot was his name um he goes my turn anyway he uh he messaged me. He's like, have you ever seen Michael A. Taylor at the Woodworkers Guild? And I was like, I don't think I have. He's like, yeah, I was listening to an interview of him the other day. Yeah. Apparently he's a part of it, but he keeps a really low profile. Like doesn't tell people he wears a welder's mask the whole time. And so sawdust, woodworker's mask yeah and so sawdust you know gets in your eyes yeah he's allergic um and then one of my buddies uh from the uh mastermind group
Starting point is 01:15:12 that i went to in austin texas um was in anaheim for the royals angels game i was like yeah we got on the field and i got to take pictures with salvi and michael a taylor because my friend knows michael a taylor he's a really great guy. Literally, I see him the next day at the Woodworkers Guild. I'm like, dude, I got to say hi to you. Hot dog. And so, yeah, I went up and talked to him and he's really cool.
Starting point is 01:15:30 It's one of those things where I'm like, I feel bad for not knowing more about the Royals players because I used to know everything about them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he's the man. He's really cool. And he was so genuine and kind.
Starting point is 01:15:39 And it was just really fun. That's awesome. I have the go-sees to thank for it. You think he's listening right now? I don't. Michael A. Did you tell him about the podcast yeah i have not a michael maybe i should i did follow up with them later because he's like do you have a business card i didn't have one on first sponsored athlete oh michael a taylor forget the athletes yeah let's
Starting point is 01:15:57 get an mlb let's get a major league center fielder come on we should see if michael a taylor would sponsor us like oh you know but anyway yeah like you guys wear michael a taylor jerseys every time you record and we just like yeah we just really promote him all the time uh anyway it was just fun like no that's really cool just to meet a royals player and it was like also like and i tried to be really chill about it i was like hey man just wanted to say i i wanted to meet or once i was that cool. Hey man. Hey man. What you working on?
Starting point is 01:16:27 Hey dude. What, what, what until gas here? Do you make your bats here? Just every day. He likes major league baseball. Once he got to use the wood bat.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Oh man. No, I just, baseball once he got to use the wood bat oh man no i just i was just like i was i tried not to mention like royal stuff i was like yeah one of my friends said he met you at the game or whatever but i didn't say like anyway i tried to just mention like youtube or podcast uh i tried to be like you know you probably have like i'm a big fan of your podcast ghost runners right or sorry oh that's mine sorry sorry It is available everywhere though, if you want to check it out. When you were a kid, did you play like wiffle ball and use Ghost Runners? Did you do that?
Starting point is 01:17:12 Do you know that? Do you know what that term is? Do you know what I mean? Have you ever heard of a podcast that doesn't really talk about baseball very much, except for when they meet you at the Woodworkers Guild? Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:21 Check it out. So anyway, it was fun meeting them. I love that move i dude i love your podcast ghost runner oh oh my gosh that's mine i always do this that's my podcast i'm embarrassed it comes out every monday you're the one that does the youtube channel gene shorts right oh my god oh my gosh i forget how multifaceted i am i i always forget man and i still provide for my family. Substitute teacher.
Starting point is 01:17:46 Middle school is important. Yeah. Yeah. Very good. It's a hard age. Yeah. I would know. Middle school Maddox is a character that I filmed.
Starting point is 01:17:57 That's fun. Last thing I want to mention just real quick. We made it on the front page of Reddit. Everyone in your minds right now. Try and guess. Why did Jake and Brad make it on the front page of Reddit? What is it minds right now try and guess why did jake and brad make it on the front page of reddit what is it what is it three two one ding ding ding did you guess the tesla video from last summer i didn't did you say the same time as me good for
Starting point is 01:18:15 us yeah um yeah somehow and it wasn't even in like a tesla subreddit it was just in the subreddit funny which seems probably hard to hard to blow up in seems like a lot of people would just post funny stuff in there um maybe they did well it turns out a couple days ago they did yeah um but yeah so that was kind of fun i guess it got so upvoted on the funny subreddit that it made it to just the front page of reddit and people which is kind of nerve-wracking when your audience isn't the one commenting on it anymore like people like it's just truly strangers yeah i've had this happen before one of the first times i went viral was on reddit and i was like oh boy this is gonna be interesting and there were some interesting comments there was i was telling rachel about this recently i was like i need to go back and try to find this there was an entire debate of whether or not i
Starting point is 01:18:53 was attractive they couldn't see me or not every night before i go to sleep yeah like hillary swank yeah it's not yeah i don't want to say it is she hot not would you ice cream truck her yeah um but so you know it was just like how's this guy getting his matches he must be attractive and then someone would reply and i found him on twitter not what you'd expect and it's all analysis like really i found his instagram i thought he's pretty okay yeah and then there was like this debate so that was kind of fun to see and kind of like oh oh, that's about what I, that's probably where I should fall. 7.2 or so. Sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:26 And 7.8, 7.8. Still an even number. Yeah. It would be, that's way better than 7.3. Gross. 7.3 is just a lie. You're 6.3. Isn't that where you rank Top Gun?
Starting point is 01:19:36 7.1. Shows you how I feel. I don't know what I said. Of course you remember. Yeah. Of course I do. He's got it written on it. It's like a piece of paper by his bed. Yeah. It's like a list of people. I know exactly what you remember. Yeah, of course I do. He's got it written on a piece of paper by his bed.
Starting point is 01:19:46 Yeah, it's like a list of people. I know exactly what you ranked up there. Yeah, it's my face. It's at 7.1. It's going to cross out with lipstick when he kills me. But anyway, people were just talking about the video and had a lot of nice things to say. And that was fun.
Starting point is 01:19:59 I don't know who it was. Someone just reposted our video, basically. Yeah, kind of cool. It was cool. Somebody, no, maybe it was just in our group chat three of us uh i i ranked my mount rushmore of um yeah and i would like to share it now i would love it if you guys can think about it and spontaneously share your mount rushmore okay it's not immediately or like yeah that's going to say youtube uh because honestly i think
Starting point is 01:20:25 youtube.com backslash i didn't i didn't pull up youtube but that's fine guys if you need to i can tell you camp counselors is on there for i think that's how it got started was like that might have been your best video i said you guys were in your bag in your bog yeah in your bog and uh so i said yeah definitely on my mount rushmore and i said well since you asked even though you didn't respond yet, I said, in no particular order, Gene Schwartz videos are my favorite. Coffee shops. That was fun.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Yep. Camp counselors. Really fun. Adulthood W's. Oh, yeah. You like that one, huh? I love that one. I love the quickness of it and how positive and just innocent it is. And then the Starbucks versus Dunkin'.
Starting point is 01:21:03 Oh, okay. The debut of Bostonoston brad was on my mount rushmore yeah so those are my those are my top four yeah i would agree with you camp counselor and duncan i don't i think by your standards you wouldn't think this was very successful video but the union worker one i thought was hilarious too yeah i just i eat up boston brad yeah rachel's favorite video is the mechanics one yeah it's like oh my gosh that's so funny nobody liked that video yeah actually 94 000 sorry keep going scott um i just scrolled past the woke coach that was a good one
Starting point is 01:21:37 from jake thank you that was one of my favorites are we doing a mount rushmore of like how many scott how many heads are on mount rushmore have you seen that he's like my mount rushmore basketball players would definitely be michael jordan larry bird bill russell kobe bryant alan iverson and it's like you you know how many he's so he's such a funny twitter follow yeah he is pretty interesting do you remember the five back in the day like your cell phone plan you could have five people that was like unlimited you want my five like charles barkley do those those commercials you want my five are you got one more scotty oh geez jake you can start listing some while i scroll
Starting point is 01:22:22 okay um i remember really liking Game Nights. Yeah. That was fun. Yeah. Game Nights was really fun. My evil scepter. That's all I remember from that one. Oh, yeah, dude.
Starting point is 01:22:33 That one was good. Dude, this is the underdog. Dark Horse here. I wasn't even in there filming it, but I think that's why I enjoyed watching it so much because I didn't know any of the jokes. The coach. Every high school coach.
Starting point is 01:22:44 Yeah, that one was good. It was so funny to me because I don't really think I helped write it. Or I don't know where I was, but whatever. It doesn't matter. So those two and then Camp Counselors was so fun to shoot. And then I think probably the groomsman part of the Bridesmaid vs. Groomsman was really fun for us. You and I both just be idiots together.
Starting point is 01:23:00 You know, I think about like Trey being the photographer behind the camera. Yes, the outdoor scene. Yeah, yeah. It was really fun. Yeah, that's good we've had some good times we're like a little over a year in a jean shorts i can't believe how many videos you guys have i mean i've been scrolling for the last like four minutes yeah we um you guys that's what i like about trey he is never satisfied never content never like you know maybe just what you know always pushing like you know we're on the road we're performing that night it's like let's crank out a video hey as soon as we get back monday meet me we're gonna do the podcast and then tuesday we'll do the video you know so it's cool because
Starting point is 01:23:32 then you have times like this like wow look at us we made so many yeah i think airbnbs be like it's gonna be online you got to see brad climb over the half door that was a priceless moment yeah that was the same day we did the fourth of july one which is another one of my favorites yeah that was great you just yell at people trump what about you yeah looking back on it it's like man like and i wonder how much better we can make that video now yeah now that we're more comfortable each other like so i love that part where trey and i sing together. I bet we could do that five times better now. You know what I mean? Singing chicken fried on the boat.
Starting point is 01:24:08 Dude, I was dying laughing. Oh, that's funny. Yeah, that was a good time. Thanks for entertaining that. Yeah, good rush. Good more. Good schmore. You want to do some reviews of the week?
Starting point is 01:24:19 Yeah, let's do it. Mine comes once again. What is that movie where it's Steve Carelli's like clearing his throat and then he's like saying like phrases. Oh no, sorry. It's got it. It's Anchorman and Anchorman 2, I think, where he's clearing his throat
Starting point is 01:24:38 and he's like saying sentences like, save the children. Oh my gosh, it's so bad. You know, whatever. You guys know what I'm talking about alright I think you're the best person in the world
Starting point is 01:24:47 that's seen Acreman 2 this from it says the name is Kirchner Cam do we think that's a last name then first name yeah
Starting point is 01:24:54 okay it says five star review sure sure I've been a fan of Jake's from when he would guest host on the Trey Kennedy's
Starting point is 01:25:03 Correct Opinions podcast and was super psyched when he joined as a regular. From there, I started watching jean shorts and loved how awesome Jake and Brad were together and hated having to wait for a new video to come out for more content. When I heard Jake start talking about a girl named Rachel on Correct Opinions, I wanted more deets. Oh, baby. I wanted to know more deets like is that his girlfriend? Oh, how long have they been together etc uh then i realized jake and brad did a podcast together and then i saw that she'd been on a recent episode to
Starting point is 01:25:32 argue with brad about the better best issue yeah so that was my experience with that was my first experience with ghost runners and i was hooked you guys are hilarious and now i'm going back through all 160 episodes and i can hear more about your lives i love hearing brad talk about his sweet kiddos and his awesome wife you guys are great examples of what good husbands fathers boyfriends and men in general should be thanks so much for all you do keep the episodes and the laughs coming you betcha kirchner no doubt we will always keep the episodes and laughs coming yeah that was cool they find out the story find out that rachel's involved yeah rachel and i have had several people in our lives recently tell us i mean completely out of nowhere just like hey do you guys know um if you uh if you google jake triplet uh the top result autofill is rachel and i looked
Starting point is 01:26:13 up and it's true i don't really win or how that became the case what and all and both times i came away being like oh that's interesting and then like a week later i was like wait that means that like people are googling like people are typing my name into google i'm yeah they're like my friends you know are like hey i'm very intrigued almost every time you so yeah jake triplet girlfriend jake triplet rachel oh okay so it was rachel then girlfriend last week now it's girlfriend net worth oh yeah jake triplet instagram american idol ellen youtube tinder cdo.can. CEO. Can't get Kennedy. Oh, wow. That's from the past.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Scott, do you even know about that? What'd you say? The Cancun.com thing. Uh, last in the past. Now save it for another time. Just Jake episode.
Starting point is 01:26:56 Uh, yeah, I, every time I like, we'll just like search any kind of actor or anything. The first thing is always like wife or husband. Like people are so intrigued to know about the partners of these people like it's so funny of how open we are on this podcast and people start like give me more i need more what happens if i do search jake triplet rachel brad and rachel have beef it's the first thing i see i feel like i just
Starting point is 01:27:17 got mildly starstruck by how many different google suggestions come up from your name like i'm in the presence of somebody who has 12 google suggestions who's like indexed on you type scott peck you get an author m scott peck yeah and it's me like they should google should know that i'm trying to search my own name i have like a google i figure it's called like a google trend alert set up like if anything like gets indexed within their database with my name in it i get like a notification it doesn't happen very often like once every four months i'll get something and almost every time it's like someone with my name died it's like an obituary it's like rarely something that like i did very rarely fun yeah um okay my five star review i believe it's five stars yes five star review from kimmy sunshine 88 you think that's

Those are the guys from mood swings and found out they had a podcast, correct opinions. Since then, I've had a lot of valleys. I've had to walk through with my grandmother passing away, my husband's grandmother falling and being in critical condition for two weeks. And my mother-in-law having surgery all within a one month timeframe. Holy cow. While I was studying for a program management certification. Holy cow. No matter how down I was, Jake and Brad PMC. They give me the original lyrics and the jingle lyrics. It's in Excel. Yes, it's in Excel. It's on Google Sheets, which is, listen, I appreciate it. And I think it's
Starting point is 01:34:30 very, very well formatted. Oh, cool. But when you scroll down some like Excel is a little bit of a wild card. Oh, no. Uh-oh, lost the lyrics when I scroll down. So that's on me. I should have copy and pasted. That's my bad. Uh- bad. That sounds like a new reality show that Wayne Brady is going to host. Uh-oh, lost the lyrics. Dang, girl. You got some good lyrics in there. That was not a good Wayne Brady. Is that Wayne Brady playing the role of Elvis?
