Starting point is 00:00:00 This is the podcast that you're listening to. Hey everyone, Brad, how you doing? Hey, I'm good. I'm just making sure the levels are good in the woofers. Can you hear fine? I feel good. Okay. You know how a lot of that reminds me, a lot of rappers, you'll hear them like in the intro when like the beat starts to come in and like, turn my headphones up. Turn my headphones up. Why are DJ, why are like, you know, producers not automatically turning the headphones louder?
Starting point is 00:00:21 Everyone's asking for them to be turned up. Why don't they have their own knob? In the studio, like, don't ask the guy. Just have a thing that you can turn up and down. We should easily, yeah, just put their own like monitor knob. But then what would they say in the intro? It just be music? I'm turning my own headphones up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Knob's going up from midnight to two o'clock. I feel like Lil Wayne's kind of signature back in the day was that he would have, um, like the lighter, like switch turn on. Can you make the sound? Good. Like it. And what if they started putting like really old fashioned,
Starting point is 00:00:53 like analog knobs in the studio and you kind of hear like, like, here I go. I'm not. Yeah. I'm not. But yeah, that's not what we were going to start off with, but that's good. Welcome to the Ghost Rubs Podcast. Play the music!
Starting point is 00:01:12 Uh-oh, ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white meat too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead, get on your feet, because a ghost all right all right all right um the story i was actually going to start with is uh you know uh rachelop. Yeah. Yeah. Girl that I've been going steady with for- Smoochin'. I love him. It's Shrek Smoochin'.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Yeah. Shrek Smoochin'. Shrek Smoochin'. Someone left us a comment or something like, I just love that. They were like, really like, felt like very endearing towards that joke. I saw her face and I'm a believer. But, you know, both of our dads are named Steve, both farmers, kind of Steve Coop, a little more so, but my dad grew up working at the farm and they love talking about really
Starting point is 00:02:12 anything there. Both of them came to town last weekend. They rode in the golf cart together. We were all supposed to switch partners every six holes. The Steve says, nah, we're good. You know, they're staying together. It's so fun. Everything you want yeah and a girlfriend's dad and your dad relationship uh but it got taken to the next level this week i heard via rachel she's like oh so kind of a funny update for you my dad was telling me that he couldn't sleep last night so he texted your dad at 3 a.m and i don't know what he texted him hey steve you up yeah i like to imagine it was just like can't sleep how about you can't sleep wyd what are you wearing yeah you want to hop on like call of duty or something or you've been streaming anything good lately like what did they talk about and like what did my dad reply at like 6 30 a.m was steve coop still awake yeah? Yeah. Are they still texting? Did my dad voice text? Crazy that you texted me.
Starting point is 00:03:05 I had a dream about you last night. Yeah, I think it's fun. I think it's fun that they're texting. Do you know? Honestly, anything exciting? No, I was on the phone with my dad today and I forgot to bring it up. So I don't know what they texted about. Maybe that's a sign that it's like pretty personal if he's not talking.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Like you would have told you if it was like, hey, he said something funny about his cornfield. Hey, you know that corn kid? Yeah, Steveve coop's making a lot of money off of it he's trying to hire my dad got too much corn i bet iowa loved the corn kid yeah actually i haven't really talked to rachel or her dad about that did that do anything because in the video he says what how expensive should corn be and he says a dollar yeah but i think the national corn price is like four cents an year so what does that do to the economy do we trust the kid do the farmers have to change their prices i've always said the kids should control the economy so i'm a firm believer in that i'll do that you know i'll feel that way to my grave so remember that kid who used to go viral on youtube probably like nine years ago kid president president
Starting point is 00:04:04 kid president yeah what first question what was that second question what's he up to now Remember that kid who used to go viral on YouTube probably like nine years ago? Little president? Kid president? Kid president, yeah. What? First question, what was that? Second question, what's he up to now? So kid president, it was like a kid that pretended like he was president. I think it was, wasn't that with Rainn Wilson? Like Soul Pancake or whatever? Oh, I forgot about Soul Pancake.
Starting point is 00:04:19 I pretended like I knew what it was. I never really did. It was too confusing of a word. Like ghost runners. Like a compound word that never really gets explained. I don't really know what it was. I think it was supposed to be like uplifting things. So Kid President was like the face of Soul Pancake.
Starting point is 00:04:33 He was the Soul Pancake. He was the butter. The R&B pancake. I googled Kid President now. His name is Robbie Novak. Let's guess how old he is. Do you see him? Okay, I haven't looked. I kind of saw his face.
Starting point is 00:04:44 I would guess he's now 20 years old oh his face looked more like 14 and a half okay go ahead um oh you went 18 okay nice uh robbie novak is an american actor and media personality um yeah television show produced by actor rain wilson um soul pancake soul pancake it doesn't look like he's done much else but that's okay rain wilson was like the only guy back in the day that i followed on twitter twitter that was like yeah not my friend yeah i don't know why i don't know if it was like a suggested thing whenever you start your account like hey these celebrities are on twitter it's like okay my first tweet was to rain wilson it was something about seatbelts i remember that did he get back to you don't try to look it up guys it was a different twitter account um what was it called triple easy 17
Starting point is 00:05:32 i'm pretty sure once again yo what up it's triple easy turn my headphones up i'm knobbing over here hey i'm knobbing in the booth i'm knobbing in the booth. I'm knobbing in the booth. Turn my headphones up. Turn me down. Scott's going to love that part. Yeah, we're Scott, man. Scott's not here, but he is going to join us via webcam. No, just kidding. We're going to call him during our s'mores of this episode.
Starting point is 00:05:58 So stay tuned for that. I'm so excited to win s'mores again. This week is going to be universally loved people great uh category by brad and uh yeah i'll be coming later but yeah brad just dominated me this past week yeah i did 81 to 19 yeah i mean that's like that's like a write-in in a local election like bad right there like i think the like like uh like some high schoolers that are all able to vote like might get more than 18 of like one of their teachers elected. Yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 00:06:28 I'm just kidding. I had some bad, you know. I thought it was very close, but I don't know. Yeah, I think. Yeah, for whatever reason, maybe it was your collared shirt, the button up shirts. That might have really overpowered razors for me. I'm curious. Like I've seen people like circle on the
Starting point is 00:06:45 s'mores like which on both sides like on the columns they'll be like brad wins this one jake wins this one they're like going head to head to me i'm like you just got to do the the whole group the cumulative because we're not basing them like it's not like i am okay brad said this what is going to compete best against that yeah yeah michael jordan versus scotty pippen it's like bulls versus pistons yeah just overall so do it oh vote however you want but i that's that's how i vote so uh your body your vote brad how was your week dude it's been a great week i am i'm feeling i'm buzzing right now uh yeah i just went to a church event a men's event uh church and it was like a men's worship night and it was awesome. It was so cool. Yeah. It was wonderful. It's just community. Like when you're with good Christian
Starting point is 00:07:30 men, it's just fun, man. It's just uplifting and good. And I think, I feel like I've been kind of dragging a little bit or like, I don't know, last couple of weeks. And I think this was like a good thing for me. I think I've, I've, i've realized in my life that once i like do like something big so like i did that san diego thing like yeah and i also did big things before that even so like once i do something big i usually have like a down whatever you call a drought like it's like hard for me to like get back again rather than like if i just have a routine i'm better at it whatever so i think this was like a good like here we go that's cool so there's been times in my life i can look back at where after there was like a a set end to like uh you know a season of life i would get sick afterwards like several times after a can of cut cut over i would get
Starting point is 00:08:15 sick afterwards and it's like this mental like you know immune system thing you build up or whatever and then when you your mind knows that it's over i don't know if science can back this up but like then you just like you kind of like you let your guard down subconsciously and then i would like i feel terrible no it's your immune system like you're stressed essentially like yeah maybe maybe you don't feel stressed at camp but your body's probably stressed because you're working it so hard like yeah that's how it is that like during finals week i think a lot of people after finals like every year so our our anniversary wedding anniversary is January 4th. Uh, not January 6th, January 4th. Where were you on January 6th?
Starting point is 00:08:48 I felt that joke coming. January 4th. Uh, as I said, January 4th, I was like, wait, is that the right one? Or is that, no, no, no. We went to DC this last year. Beautiful that time of year. I tell you what, um, no January 4th, but like four or five years in a row. Uh, cause we have a tradition to go to
Starting point is 00:09:05 melting pot on our, you know, I've talked about that before four or five years in a row. I've gotten sick that time of year. And I always get like sick to the point where I can't taste like not COVID sometimes, but, uh, you know, but it was before COVID times. I just had really bad nasal, like cold, like, but it was always after Christmas because I was working at a church. And so like the combination of like family and church and whatever, all these different things, Christmas is a crazy season and it's over. Boom. Big daddy's sick. Can't taste. So like four or five years in a row, I've had to like postpone melting pot for like two, like a week or two. And Catherine does not like it. So, but you're feeling good now. This is the, this is the year
Starting point is 00:09:43 I do not get sick. Yes. Feeling great. It's been a fun week. I wrote down that I saw, I put a lot of Jake in a row. Like multiple days in a row we saw each other. Oh, oh, you and I. Yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:09:54 I don't think we saw each other Monday. Did we record the podcast on Monday? No, it was Tuesday. Yeah, I think I was. I think I saw you Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Monday was Labor Day. Monday was Labor Day.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Monday was Labor Day. Monday was Labor Day. So I saw you Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday though Labor Day. Monday was Labor Day. Monday was Labor Day. Monday was Labor Day. So I saw you Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday though. I think fun. Yeah. Yeah. Four days in a row. It was great.
Starting point is 00:10:09 It was so much fun because we saw each other podcast slash jean shorts. Wednesday was draft. Yeah. Rachel and I came over Thursday, basketball, Friday, TJ. Yeah. Wonderful time. So just got a good dose of Jake in my life. And that you would think that would have gotten me out of my drought.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Nope. Needed something a little more supernatural. Just got a good dose of Jake in my life and that you would think that would have gotten me out of my drought No Needed something a little more supernatural. You want to talk about basketball to start off, dude? Yeah, let's talk about it All right, we show up and it's just not It's not visually. It's not what you want to see you ever got a harm Globetrotter game There's the Harlem Globetrotters and then there's the generals. Let's just say that's a great way of putting it well for a great low rate you can get online go to jake and brad to save some time because we were the generals and the generals don't have their one college basketball player and uh we're told that a substitute was coming who never came basketball yeah and he never showed up so you have just the
Starting point is 00:11:01 five uh five ten white guys who are all pretty out of shape. Cardiovascularly. Yeah. Five keyword five. No, no, nobody on the bench. Big daddy was not ready for that. Yeah. You played the whole game. All the game did just fine. I felt like I picked up wind at the end. I was, I was feeling just fine. You were wanting a fifth quarter. Yeah. Uh, the next day my ankle hurt bad. It still hurts. Like it hurts to go downstairs right now i have hurt myself every basketball game it's like dang i'm old i hurt every game the first week i hurt my right knee second week left ankle okay so i went left knee and then left uh are you familiar with the term the triplet toe no i'm not sure if i've mentioned that on the podcast is that a real thing or is that you're coining it yourself the triplets have certain genes it's your genetic
Starting point is 00:11:43 uh there's some you know like live long thick hair a lot of good ones yeah there's another one where our second toe looks like something out of i don't know some sort of avatar film or something it is very long 3d and uh yeah in your face yeah anyway um it's just it's a very long second toe could sometimes get in the way of things i don't know what happened to it basketball wise but how much more percentage than your uh big toe is it long we talking five percent fifteen seventeen and a half no it's up there um like is it a whole nail bigger should i get it out i wouldn't hate it we talked about me taking out my shoes last week so this is gonna be a fun thing for you to show me. I'll hold it up for you and the podcast. Also question are both.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Oh yeah. I mean, it's, yeah, it's not bad. Yeah. Can you guys see it? That's going to cause some problems.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Yeah. So it'll get stepped on when the other toes don't. And I think that's what happened at the game. I don't know what happened or if you just, you know, I hit the brakes too hard that the triplet toe gets slammed into the front of the shoe. Right. It has to carry the brunt to the work, I don't know what happened. Or if you just, you know, I hit the brakes too hard, the triplet toe gets slammed into the front of the shoe. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:46 It has to carry the brunt of the work. Which, I mean, I'd rather have one sore toe than five. Yeah, I'd rather have, yeah, I don't look like a caveman. They're all just flat. Yeah. But you're feeling it? Yeah, the triplet toe was bleeding. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Where? Just like on the fingernail, or the toenail, triplet toenail top. So a weird, unique injury, but I'm fine. Okay. I'm fine now. Didn't affect my golf game. Thank goodness. That's what really matters.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Anyway, Harlem Globetrotters. Yeah, so the other team, let's just put it out there. There were seven guys. They were all black and they were big. One guy was humongous. Humongous, dude. Six. I asked him as we were running down the court one time.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I was like, how tall are you? Six, eight? Yeah, six, eight, six, nine. I would guess six, eight. You're huge. Like one of the first plays of the game, he goes, how old are you? And I go, what? 31.
Starting point is 00:13:37 He goes, I knew I was the oldest one here. I'm 42. Was he really? Oh, you didn't hear me say that? I said it to him a million times. He did not look 42. He didn't. You never know.
Starting point is 00:13:45 And so he was huge, but at the same time he was older. But man, yeah, he played just fine. Yeah, they were all like immediately. We didn't start out as bad as we did the first week. First week was 20 to 0, but I think it was... 30 to 9 is what I remember. Okay. It was bad. It was a rough start again.
Starting point is 00:14:05 It was, it was not looking good for us. Uh, and whenever that happens to me, I always go the humor route of like, let's wear them down a little bit. Let's make them not try as hard as make them get on our goofiness level. And that's like very slowly get back in the game.
Starting point is 00:14:18 And so that's where I was doing what happened. So, so yeah, that one guy, I kept calling a 42. I was like, I got 42. I got 42,
Starting point is 00:14:24 like 42. 42 will shoot the ball like all these different things messing with them he he made a joke one time he said something like almost almost doesn't count or something that's what brandy said and i was like oh brandy like you are 42 years old or something like he really liked like they were they were really like they're cool they were fun yeah they're fun and uh yeah i guess just warning to anybody who like gets offended for black people even though they're not offended for themselves i made a few jokes and i'm going to tell them right now uh it was one of those things where it was like yeah of course we could like talk about this they're all black we're all white yeah and so the refs were
Starting point is 00:15:00 also black and the ball went out one time ball went out of bounds and they're like all right white ball white ball and i go wait well like, all right, white ball, white ball. And I go, wait, well, well, which team is the white, which one, which one's white team. And it was so funny. Cause it was like the reverse. Cause like you see this happen all the time with white people of like, Oh, I didn't mean it like, you know, like this, this rev was like, you, you got, I mean, well, I just been like,
Starting point is 00:15:20 it's been like your jerseys or whatever. I don't know. And then later on, was that the ref we know, or the ref doing a fantasy football draft in the middle of refereeing our game? Yeah. Either one was just a great ref. No, that was the ref we knew he kept,
Starting point is 00:15:35 he knows my name. Yeah. Yeah. Um, and then later on the game, uh, I asked 42, I was like,
Starting point is 00:15:41 are you having a hard time figuring out who's on your team and who's not love that. And then you made a joke. I made a mistake. Yeah. So, so the other team was red and the refs for this, this league that we're in all have the same, like gray and gray Jersey with like a little red sleeves on them. Yeah. And so Jake's go, Jake goes, man, I almost threw it. I almost went and started guarding the ref. Right. Is that what you said? Yeah. Uh, you know, I, cause they look so similar. I don't know if you said that. Like, yeah, it's kind of laughing at me.
Starting point is 00:16:11 I was seeing red. I saw red on there. I was like, they have red on their Jersey. I'm not understanding why they're laughing. And I was like, oh, is that, is that the color you saw? Like you saw red. And I was like, yeah. And he's like a little bit of gray too. And I was like, oh yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Those are the colors. Whatever. So anyway, it was, it was fun. So, but the crazy thing, oh, yeah, yeah. Those are the colors. Whatever. So anyway, it was it was fun. So but the crazy thing, go ahead and tell him. We start battling back. We battled back with only our five people. Very out of shape. We just make every shot in the second half.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Really? We start battling back. Next thing you know, there's a couple minutes left and we're down by three. It was really fun. It was. Yeah. Just everything was going our way. I remember like, yeah, I hit like a fast break three pointer.
Starting point is 00:16:46 They had to call a timeout. Yeah. That never happens. That was the best play of the game, in my opinion. That was fun. That was the most fun. Yeah. Because like it was this weird, like it almost went out of bounds.
Starting point is 00:16:56 It seemed like it did definitely go out of bounds like multiple times, but they didn't call it. And then all of a sudden, Isaac, you know, dribble the ball, fast break, pass over to Jake. Jake pulls up. We're down by six, pulls up for three. Bang. Timeout. Timeout. Timeout. Timeout. It's like okay now. It's getting serious. Oh, these crackers about to beat us It's like yeah, let's go and then 42 got scary
Starting point is 00:17:15 He was yeah cute in gear a bit Yeah a little bit more so and anyway we end up losing by I think four because we were down by six We got the ball last play the game through an alley-oop to Isaac and he slammed it home. That was pretty sweet. That was pretty fun. So last point, if it was last point wins, we won. The one dunk of the game was by a white guy. Yeah, it was us.
Starting point is 00:17:35 Yeah. And it was a sweet dunk. It was cool. Isaac in the car afterwards was like, dude, that may have been one of the best passes I've ever been thrown. He's like, I went up. I wasn't even planning on dunking it. But then I got up there.
Starting point is 00:17:44 I was like, might as well. I was like, I would love to make that decision midair. Yeah been thrown. He's like, I went up, I wasn't even planning on dunking it, but then I got up there. I was like, might as well. I was like, I would love to make that decision midair. Yeah. Like, Oh, go ahead. I feel like there's so many times where it's like,
Starting point is 00:17:51 Isaac, just dunk it. It's so, yeah, just jump. You missed that layup. I think you would have made it if you just dunk it. Like put it in there.
Starting point is 00:17:58 But yeah, it was fun. Fun time. Scott was so positive about the loss. Like he's like, guys, dude, we were so close. And Isaac's like, yeah, but we lost. It was so positive about the loss. Like he's like, guys, dude, we were so close.
Starting point is 00:18:05 And Isaac's like, yeah, but we lost. It was a moral victory for sure. So anyway, that was fun. That was basketball. What other times we hang out? Oh, TJ came into town. TJ, you know, the walk in love brand with him and his wife, Brooke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:23 If you're not if you're not following it like at this point, just know he's like a close friend of ours. If you want to support us, support them. They have a podcast. They have a clothing brand. He is just the man and Brooke. They're both just wonderful people. They're both the man.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Yeah. We're pretty sure that that's how Rachel found the podcast. It found me was through walk in love. I had that thought again, like recent. I was thinking about like, OK, on the podcast today, I want to promote walk in love. And then I was like, oh, and the fact that Jake met Rachel through walk in love i had that thought again like recent i was thinking about like okay on the podcast today i want to promote walk in love and then i was like oh and the fact that jake met rachel through walk in love yeah we're pretty sure because she listened to walk in love and then we think a suggested podcast underneath that was ghost runners so she's like sure let's try this out once wild yeah um anyway hanging with tj was fun went had barbecue and just hung out there for
Starting point is 00:19:02 like two hours and then i went straight to the airport afterwards. Yeah. Yeah. He came in town for his brother's 40th birthday. He was going to surprise his brother. And so he stayed with us and yeah, it was the day that we saw you or went to lunch with you. He was like on his, you know, big time jet lag kind of. Yeah. So, so he had this thing, tell me by herself, this, this theory, it was one of those things I just laughed at immediately. So he, he gets gets in i think it was like eight o'clock you know when he gets into kansas city and so i'm like okay that's probably like four whatever his time maybe three it doesn't matter um he's like yeah i'm pretty tired i think if i just take an hour maybe two hour nap i'll feel good for the day and then i'll try to get on your schedule and like go to bed tonight again
Starting point is 00:19:43 i'm like great he's like but let's go get some coffee first. You want some coffee before you nap? He's like, yeah, I actually read that if you drink coffee, if you drink coffee really fast, right before you take a nap, you won't get energized, but then you wake up from your nap. Feeling energized. Yeah. I've heard that before. I've heard that before. I don't hate it. I think if you're the type of person who can be easily influenced and affected by coffee, then that's worth a shot. I think it's, it's by person. I think you got to test it out. I just, I just laughed. I was like, that's ridiculous. You're not going to sleep very well because of the coffee. Oh, I see. Yeah. I don't, I don't think that the, the like idea of coffee energizing you when you wake up is a bad idea. I think it's like,
Starting point is 00:20:23 but you're not going to fall asleep. Yeah, because if I was at TJ's position, I would probably take in like a four hour nap and be like, I'm not gonna worry about coffee. I'll just take a massive nap and I'll just feel great when I wake up. He did end up taking, I think, a two hour nap because he was down in the dungeon. Yeah, let us know.
Starting point is 00:20:36 I'm sure there's people out there who've tried that or do it on a regular basis. And naturally he Googled like, you know, can you take, you know, coffee? Like he Googled things that were like, it make it come up with the right. You can find what you want. Right. And so he was yeah, he was like advocating for this.
Starting point is 00:20:51 But I thought that was so funny. He was also wearing a black shirt and black jeans. And it was 94 degrees that day. So I don't know if we could trust his decision making. He's like, I thought it was going to be cold here. I was like, you're such a. We did not. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Didn't even check. He San Diego the situation essentially. It was fun. gonna be cold here i was like you're such a we did not yeah didn't even check he he san diego'd the situation essentially but it was fun a couple years ago for tj's birthday he got me a shirt with his face all over it and i remembered that i had it so i showed up to oklahoma joe's barbecue wearing a shirt with you know 12 tj's faces on it that was the second time in like two weeks i've seen that shirt because the guy i stayed with in san diego had that shirt oh no way yeah that's funny i didn't know you never seen it before. It's a TJ. I was like, how does everyone have the shirt for me?
Starting point is 00:21:27 Sorry, dude. Um, but yeah, so TJ, let me tell you a few more things about him. So he's got this really cool product that they're going to debut soon for anybody who's got a family with kids.
Starting point is 00:21:36 It's called little rhythms and it's like this board. It's kind of like a schedule board and it's got all these different, uh, things that you would do in your family throughout the day. Um, and you, they're all magnetic and so you can change the order of them. So it'd be like, you know, wake up, do your, you know, eat breakfast, quiet time, whatever, all these different things. I think it's going to really be helpful to kids who need that rhythm in their life. And so he actually gave us like a prototype of it. Sweet. And Hattie and Bo love it. Like they, yeah, not only do they love like playing with the magnets, but they love like
Starting point is 00:22:09 the actual idea behind it. So that's coming out soon. They do clothing like four times a year, but this is like also another big thing they're doing. So, but the cost of magnets went up. Yeah. He, he shared with us, he's like bad news guys. I'm sure you heard magnets went up. Well, yeah, I'm sure it's sweeping the mainland as it is hawaii uh well it's so funny like i i was trying to brainstorm with him because it's a wood product so i was trying to figure out like how can i make this how can i help you with this in my expertise of wood uh but it's kind of this inside joke at integrated whenever he was there he brought a prototype of it and basically like showed everybody like in this big round table, like discussion thing panel. Uh, and then he basically said, this is my product.
Starting point is 00:22:49 How can you give me advice on how to market it best to people? Just wanting like literal, like practical marketing advice. And instead what happened was, you know, 15 different guys basically said, I would change this about your product. I would do this. Have you thought about it like this? And so I was really careful with like, okay, I don't want to like push him wrong ways on everything. Cause he's like, he's like already,
Starting point is 00:23:10 he's like, this is the product. It's in production. We're not, we're not messing with the product. We just want to know how to get it out there to people. So it's like this inside joke of like, well,
Starting point is 00:23:19 have you thought about doing it in Spanish? Well, what if you did? Have you tried pine? Pine can sometimes be cheaper. I did ask him. I was like, have you thought about doing like plywood or something
Starting point is 00:23:28 like that? But I didn't mess with him too much. Not after the magnets price went up. I will say one thing with TJ. This thing is shortening out on me. I did something for the first time this week with TJ that you'll appreciate. As a YouTuber,
Starting point is 00:23:44 I watched a video from this guy named Mr. Beast. You watched your first ever Mr. Beast video. I watched three of them. Let's talk about it. They're awesome. Yeah, they're pretty. They're spectacles is what they are. Here's one thing I didn't know about them.
Starting point is 00:23:56 They're clean. Oh, yeah. Like, yeah, I had no idea. I didn't think they were like ultra inappropriate, but I just thought like I can't watch them around my kids, you know, whatever. I don't know what his like main demographic is but I just thought like, I can't watch them around my kids, you know, or whatever. I don't know what his like main demographic is, but you know, it's probably like eight to 15, I would say ages. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:12 It was, it was awesome. Like I watched one where, you know, they have a hundred people in a circle and the circle gets smaller. Classic. A hundred thousand dollars to the winner of that. That was crazy. You know? And of course the whole time, like Catherine and I are like, you know, he's like, like
Starting point is 00:24:24 Catherine knew the people's name, like the characters, like the. Really? Like know and of course the whole time like katherine and i are like analyzing like like katherine knew the people's name like the characters like the really like at the by the end of the video she's like oh eric went out i was i can't believe that was eric you know um and we watched the squid game well anyway it was the squid game thing is unbelievable i know not yeah yeah it's crazy well yeah i i kept like having to remind myself like this is a youtube video yeah this is a YouTube video. Yeah. This is a YouTuber who made it. This is not a Hollywood production.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Like, this set is pretty incredible. Yeah. So, yeah, the whole thing. I'm into it. I'm not. Catherine's not nearly as into it as I am because I was like, there was one night I was like, do you want to watch some Mr. Beast videos of me? And she's like, no, I thought they were fine, but I don't want to watch them all the time.
Starting point is 00:25:03 But I definitely like next time I have some free time, I think I'm going to watch a video. It's fascinating for like a number of different reasons. And I think that's probably why he's so successful because he comes at you from different angles. One, I'm fascinated because he and his friend group are not necessarily the most, I mean, they're likable, but it's not like they have these crazy good personalities
Starting point is 00:25:19 or they're really funny or they have good sarcasm. Like they're kind of dorky. Like their humor is mainly targeted at kids. And it's like, I didn't find anything about these jokes funny, but I'm like, they're really funny or they have good sarcasm. Like they're kind of dorky. Like their humor is mainly targeted at kids. And it's like, I didn't find anything about these jokes funny, but I'm like, they're crazy successful. But here's what I said to TJ. I was like, none of them are unlikable. Like, I don't think they're like,
Starting point is 00:25:35 they're not trying so hard. Super charming. And like, I love that guy is so endearing. But at the same time, it's like, he's not annoying too much. I mean, every once in a while, it's like, that's kind of goofy, but it's never he's not annoying too much i mean every once in a while it's like that's kind of goofy but it's never like like sometimes as much as i love the the brand and the mission everything dude perfect i think people make fun of them a lot like because they can be a little cheesy people yeah exactly like they're like over the top ridiculous wild let's go and i think yeah some people just get annoyed with the rage monster and all this
Starting point is 00:26:05 other people love it obviously a lot of people but um yeah i feel like every mr beast video now is just it's a master class on retention it's crazy the way he formulates these videos and like i okay i'm not that into this but then i keep watching it and it's like all right all right i've seen it all let's just see what happens but let's just get to the end of this like it's crazy i mean it's like a science project the way he like he edits these videos it's it's really impressive well you know how katherine like consumes things she's so funny like so the first like 10 seconds of this video start with the circle thing i think it was the first one we watched and you know there's like seven cuts within four seconds on there yeah and she's going wait wait wait i don't get it go back oh no mr beast would hate hearing that he's like seven cuts within four seconds on there yeah and she's going wait wait wait i don't
Starting point is 00:26:45 get it go back oh no mr beast would hate hearing that he's like no that's the exact point i'm trying to do i don't think she was like completely paying attention to be honest i think she was maybe like on her phone half but um anyway i tried to take a lot of that into mood swings i i really really emphasize to derrick like because the other videos gene shorts girls it's like people watch those to the end you know like usually once people start watching those they're in it they they know the title they're gonna watch but it's like golf we're trying to get people to sit around and watch this golf for 20 minutes we gotta really hook them we gotta really like yeah show that it's gonna be worth it so they also have probably so many camera guys I'm always telling Derek I was like we need
Starting point is 00:27:20 to really be um very entertaining in the first 10 to 15 seconds. Yeah. And I also want someone to see a golf shot within 20 seconds. I think it's really important. The video starts like the golf starts quick. You feel like mood swings have been great? Going well? Short form content has been exploding. I mean, even just today, it seems like every day something like picks up a different brand
Starting point is 00:27:39 reaches out. Quick Trip sent us stuff today, which is fine. Okay, you were there. Short form meaning Instagram reels and TikTok? Yeah. A lot of like the the joke stuff we're doing you know the comedy sketch stuff that's going well tiktok is going crazy everyone should go check out the mood swings tiktok just to see the views we're
Starting point is 00:27:52 getting really it's great i mean we had like 14 000 views and then i posted three times in a row what use so we are uh start over we only had 14 000 followers followers and last week i posted three videos and the first video got four million views. And then the next two each got half a million. So it's crazy. So that's exploding. Instagram really uploaded last week has a million views. Now all these like golf meme pages are reposting anything we post right now.
Starting point is 00:28:19 The Instagram one recently, I think two of them in a row got over a million views, didn't they? Really? Yeah. Yeah. We've had a lot blow up. So it's just like's really fun it's really cool right now it seems so easy yeah but it's like i guess no one has really done golf humor like this i don't know why people are i feel like i've seen stuff just yeah i don't know we just never done it yeah we just know what
Starting point is 00:28:36 we're doing um anyways that's going well we're still trying to figure out the more long form stuff you know like how do we really get people to watch us play golf that's kind of the trick is there is there like a like do you need to do long form like or like yeah yeah yeah i think so i think that's the goal it's like there's only so much golf humor but if we could just get people we could build an audience playing golf we will never be done doing that that's my goal i don't want to do the sketch stuff as much that's fair because yeah you can always say something different for each hole that you shoot on a long form thing. Even just think about
Starting point is 00:29:07 like the workload, like it takes a lot of right. Yes. Comedy video, but just go golf. If you can get five videos out of an 18 hole round of golf and you don't have to prepare anything.
Starting point is 00:29:16 That's amazing to play. Yeah, that's that's the way to do it. So that's fair. It has gone well. We're golfing this week again. So that's fun. What's 2FA security on Kraken? Let's say I'm captaining my soccer team and we're golfing this week again so that's fun what's 2fa security on kraken let's say i'm captaining my soccer team and we're up by a goal against i don't know the burlington bulldogs
Starting point is 00:29:32 do we relax no way time to create an extra line of defense and protect that lead that's like 2fa on kraken a surefire way to keep what you already have safe and sound go to kraken.com and see what crypto can be not investment advice crypto trading involves risk of loss see kraken. Starting point is 00:30:08 Are you Dave, a claims-free hybrid-driving university grad who signed up online? Well, Dave, this jingle's for you. Who saves with TD Insurance because he's a claims-free
Starting point is 00:30:18 hybrid-driving university grad who signed up online? It's Dave. Not Dave? No problem. TD Insurance has over 30 ways to save on home and auto. So... Save like only you can at tdinsurance.com slash ways to save.
Starting point is 00:30:36 TD. Ready for you. What'd you do this weekend? Where were you? What happened? I was with TJ most of the weekend, and then he left early Sunday morning. I took him to the airport at 4.40 in the morning. You took him? I was with TJ most of the weekend. And then, uh, he left early Sunday morning. I took him to the airport at four 40 in the morning. You took him. I did. Would you not?
Starting point is 00:30:51 I would just like, he's like, I can take an Uber. I was like, don't do an Uber. I would have said that. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Have fun. No way. Four 40. It was, he said, I have a six 15 flight. Cause his, his,
Starting point is 00:31:02 his mom is a, uh, flight attendant. And so I fly standby standby so at first he was like i don't know if i'm leaving sunday or monday or tuesday which you know the hostess and katherine's like okay yeah um no but yeah he texted he's like yeah i'm actually leaving 615 sunday uh and i was like no problem i'll take you to the airport he's like are you up for early airport and i was like yeah sure yeah no i'll be awake uh and then he's like so what time you think we need to leave? And that's when it hit me because I had to do it, like go, you know, reverse engineer it.
Starting point is 00:31:30 And I was like, we should probably leave around 440. Yeah. So that was rough. And then later on Sunday morning, this, the end of the story is just, the best part is the first, like, like the description of the story, but there's not much to the actual event. I led worship at a NASCAR race. Oh, that's right. Yeah. Yeah. Cause there was a race at the Kansas speedway this weekend, right? Yes. There was a NASCAR cup race. I'm learning the terms. Oh, NCR. Um, yeah. I, so, so I didn't know what to expect. There's a guy at our church. I was like, like hey we partner with this ministry called raceway ministries at a springfield missouri you probably know hey yeah yeah uh i forget what this
Starting point is 00:32:09 guy used to be a teacher in springfield i said my friends from strafford he's like oh yeah oh of course yeah right off of already four um anyway uh i had no idea what to expect they're like yeah it's not gonna be anything crazy i was like okay do i just prepare some song it was like it was one of those things where i i had no i had very little like information about it they're like prepare some songs like do i need to like provide like lyrics like or do i need to is it gonna be a screen yeah yeah no it was it was very elementary uh operation okay uh it was this it was this really nice like big tent but it was like on the campgrounds of the NASCAR. Like there's like 5,000 RVs that go in like camp at this thing.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Trey and I did a brand new, like NBC and NASCAR. And so we went to Nashville and it's crazy how many people, yeah. Are just there for the weekend. It's very, very, I don't know if they do it all like year long.
Starting point is 00:33:02 They just go from city to city and that's their lifestyle. But I wonder how they make money. Cause it seems like they could spend it just fine. These people go to NASCAR events. Yeah. Yeah. No, I asked this guy, I was like, I asked him that and he's like, I think some people travel, but he's like a lot of people like in Kansas is like the one really like Midwest event, like Midwest city where they do this. And so, yeah, you get all these Northwest or like North Midwest and all these people, there's like, there's a race in Texas, there's races out in Tennessee, maybe Kentucky or something like that. But like Kansas is like one of the only ones out West, like at all. And so, uh, yeah, a lot of people come to this. Gotcha. Uh, but yeah, I think it's like Thursday, like they can get their Thursday night and they have to leave by Monday or something.
Starting point is 00:33:42 So it's like, it's a weekend long thing. And it was, it was kind of crazy. It was kind of like a cool, like massive tailgate party kind of thing. Cool. And big tent. Yeah. They're like, get there by eight o'clock. The service will be at 10 and I could have gotten there at nine 55. I got there and just twiddled my thumbs for like two hours. There was, and of course I was dead tired because I got up at 440. I could have easily taken a nap and the whole time you're there it's like this is time i could have been sleeping yeah i didn't think that until later i think but yeah i did text i didn't think that specifically i did like text katherine while i was there i was like i did not need to get here so like i i like rushed
Starting point is 00:34:17 out the door didn't help out katherine with like breakfast or anything so i was like i gotta be there and i want to like you know i want to want to say true to my word. Like, um, but anyway, it was good. It was only like 25 people there. And, uh, you know, it's, it's what you would imagine, like a NASCAR demographic at church. Like, it's like all these guys in there, like race t-shirts and stuff. Yeah. And unique experience. This guy gave out these Bibles and I think the front of them had a net, like a race car on them, you know, good. The pit stop or something like that where are you gonna go when you meet the checkered the checkered flag of life yeah when the checkered flag uh hits where will you be um but anyway yeah like i said there's not really a ton of eventful things that happen from it it's a funny premise that didn't
Starting point is 00:34:59 really come have it was like and it went well yeah it went well it was it was good and it was i don't know there was a dog there that's kind of fun cute what brand uh it was skinny and kind of tall it kind of looked like uh uh what's those things greyhounds kind of cool well greyhounds race so that makes sense you bring a greyhound to nascar and you bring nascars to a greyhound race it was great like really though nascar, like I was intrigued by, I wanted to go to one after I was there. Really? I didn't feel that. So here's, yeah. So Saturday it rained. And so the race on Saturday, cause it's like a whole weekend of races, the race on Saturday got rained out. And so they, they did the first race, like not the NASCAR big race, but like one of the minor league races early in the morning is like a makeup thing. And you could
Starting point is 00:35:44 hear them going. And this guy with me, who's like a big racer, obviously you can start in this ministry for it. He was like, he's like, okay, you can hear him in first gear. And now they're going to second. Oh, really? Now they're slowing down because they're going around the turn. And it was, it was cool. Like, I don't know, just knowing all this stuff about him. I was like, I could get into this for a this for a time in my life. I saw him do some practice laps in Nashville and it is impressive. The speed and the loudness. I was like, this is pretty cool. Yeah. So I don't, I'm not saying I'm going to like, like it was, it was the same time as the first NFL Sunday. So I'm not, I'm not giving that up, but what would you call someone who's like a really big NASCAR fan? What do you call him redneck uh i was thinking it's a sort of clever play on words
Starting point is 00:36:28 with driving and fandom okay red no no redneck actually it's funny uh luke hoagland i had seen him like earlier that week and told him that i was doing it nasshole does that work uh luke hoagland texted me he was like how'd it go whatever i told him um and then he's like let me see if i can find it he goes did you uh play life as a highway and then he said reckless love that's funny i said keep going and he said i tried but i got nothing and i said i said cory nasbury steven curtis latman oh Oh, nice. Auteo Adrenaline. Nice. And then he came back with Cody Kars and Chris Renzuma.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Did you see that Corey Asbury is in the news? No. What did he do? I don't know. It's one of those things that Trey was like, you hear this? I'm like, no. No, he spit on somebody? No, his nails are painted.
Starting point is 00:37:25 And so I think a lot of like Christians are like, I don't know about this. And he's like, my daughter likes to paint my nails. Oh, okay. And I think that's it. That's the story.
Starting point is 00:37:34 Crazy. Yeah. Crazy about this. I don't know how you can miss that. I'm not playing his songs anymore. Yeah. No way. Um,
Starting point is 00:37:43 but yeah, another thing that happened that Sunday, NFL is back. Chiefs are back. Yeah. I don't know what else there's to say other than that the Chiefs look as good as ever. As good as ever, my brother. So it's fun to be a Chiefs fan as of now. Yeah, we're recording this before they played on Thursday against the Chargers.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Which I will get to go to. Shout out to the Chiefs for having us. Tell us more. I don't know much. I don't ask a lot of questions. You just said free tickets. I'm not. Like tomorrow night, me and Rachel are joining Trey and Katie at some sort of like event.
Starting point is 00:38:20 It's cocktail attire and there's a red carpet. What are you going to wear? I asked Trey and then he was like kind of laughing at me. I was like, I think it's just attire and there's a red carpet what are you wearing i i asked trey and then he was like kind of laughing at me i was like i think it's just good to double check um so i think it's like a suit but no tie okay i don't know you think i think i'm gonna go with that you're like i hope that's it because you're not really gonna tie the tie i think it's gonna be better to be slightly overdressed so sure um there's gonna be somebody there that's gonna wear like something obnoxiously like out there like yeah like a chief's bow tie with like a red oh i hope jackson mahomes
Starting point is 00:38:50 is there love to rub elbows with him if there's no way yeah i don't know what it is i because trey even forwarded me the email he's like hey here you go and it was like this tells me nothing i mean it is the first home game so maybe it is like kind of a big thing. I think it's the 50th anniversary of Arrowhead, so that's some like there's some theme to it. Here you go. See if you can decipher this. I'm going to give Brad the email and you just read off and try to tell me what's going to happen. The first thing, the name of the party, I think, is House of Heat. I hope they play hot in here by Nellie. 70. The number 72, like 1972 vibes with a 2022 twist. How fun. So you need to totally pretend like you missed the memo and you and Rachel dress up like
Starting point is 00:39:34 you're going to funky town. Just I. Yeah. Just Rachel's got hoop earrings and bell bottoms. 1972, right? Yeah. Valet parking. Fun.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Not much. Chiefs. what to look forward to chiefs vintage memorabilia first look at the 1972 collection by charlie hustle cool that's a local brand in kansas city clothing brand exclusive red carpet moment which means you're gonna get a picture yeah that'll be fun that i will look forward to that but other than that it's hard to tell what's happening is there dinner provided are there drinks do we need to eat beforehand i get to look at it's at j reager which is the it's like a distillery in town so there's got to be like so we get drunk yeah you love whiskey no sugar added yeah just just straight do you have anything stronger do you have any moonshine and i'm sure yeah i'm sure there's going to be plenty but i don't think it's going to be a sit down.
Starting point is 00:40:26 I think it's going to be a stand up. It's cocktail, right? Is that what you said? Cocktail attire. Doesn't say that anywhere though. Yeah, I don't know. There's such little information on this. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:34 The exclusive red carpet moment is where I'm, I'm fixating on. I might leave after that. I think do not smile at that. You and Rachel both power move. You take a picture together, not smiling. I just smolder that thing i will amazing rachel will not be able to do it but i will and i will find i will find you that picture all right uh tell rachel i'll give her 20 if she's a smile i'm serious okay i think
Starting point is 00:40:57 i think it would be amazing power move that would be because it's like it's like who are these guys who are those i don't know they didn't even smile. Those guys take themselves seriously. Who were those guys? Who was that guy with fake chest hair out of his polka dot shirt? Don't you have that red Allen suit? Yeah, I have a lot of Fuckytown outfits. What would it cost? To show up to a Chiefs event in a red...
Starting point is 00:41:21 $300? Way more than that. Really? Yeah, you'd have to pay me way more. The Chiefs invited me to go to this red carpet event in a red $300 way more than that really yeah you're gonna have to pay me way more the chiefs invited me to go to this like red carpet people are gonna love it there's no way you come in a red suit it doesn't matter it doesn't matter anything else you do you come in a red suit you don't smile for the red carpet moment you are literally king i think there's no way there's no way people are gonna be like like, nice red suit, you loser.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Go Chiefs. We'll see. Over under three and a half people have red suits tomorrow. No way. No way. I bet if they do, they are fitted and they look nice. I doubt. Yours is very fitted.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Mine fits snug. Yeah. It's very trim fit. The jeans are so snug. They had to cut slits in the side of them to fit around my waist. Their jeans. I thought they were stretchy. I have a a blazer i have a women's blazer and red tight jeans are they are they like together they're the same color but no they're not like a set okay okay i take it back i take it back don't do this i thought it was like a full pantsuit or something no i just kind of pieced something together okay speaking of pieced together did you see my outfit
Starting point is 00:42:22 on instagram this week yeah let's talk about it when my dad called me today i answered the phone i go hey what's going on he goes i love the knickers um yeah he's a big fan so i just thought it'd be a little special treat one of this like golf trip you know kind of a i don't think we talked about it last week but yeah for harrison's kind of a bachelor party kind of thing we went down to northern georgia blue ridge mountains and just had a little golf boys trip and so yeah it's kind of a spun fun special treat no one knew i was doing it but i pieced together an outfit on amazon uh to just look like an old-timey golfer so i bought like a white like driver's cap oh yeah a red polo and then these like argyle red white and blue knickers with like high red socks and oh they were awesome i felt amazing did you play better or worse i played
Starting point is 00:43:05 pretty well that day yeah yeah no i think it helped did you only use wooden clubs i did not i used to do everything everything back in modern technology um yeah but so that was fun and it was fun to get dressed and show the guys that they got a good kick out of it what was interesting was the lack of just acknowledgement i got from anyone else on the course which means they thought i was doing it for you know this is how i dress yeah it's like that guy looks dorky but not like so dorky that it's obvious yeah he's he's like doing it on purpose saw the cart girl twice talked to her didn't say a word talked to the starter for five minutes waiting on the rain to pass didn't say anything or that means so many other people are actually dressing that way i don't know if i'm with five other dudes all dressed normal i think
Starting point is 00:43:49 you would say something to the guy dressed in argyle red white and blue this guy's trying pretty hard yeah i would tell there's some people would address like other guys on the course or whatever yeah i would give them a various number of reasons what was this for it was 9-11 so one time i threw that out there another time i said for the queen you know, just kind of threw out her reasons. It's all different countries. Yeah. Pre-revolutionary, you know, post-revolutionary. Did you what was I going to ask? Oh, I think
Starting point is 00:44:14 sometime you need to do a Space Jam themed golf outing because you have a driver's cap now. That's what Michael Jordan would always wear, but he wore it backwards. As a kid, I thought that was the coolest thing ever when he would wear it backwards. I forgot about that. I think it'd be funny. You each dress like a member of the Space Jam.
Starting point is 00:44:30 He's got Bill Murray. Doesn't he have that crazy funny hat? Remember that? Scott texted us this week because he was trying to come up with his universally loved people list. He's like, guys, Sam doesn't know who Bill Murray is. I asked Rachel. I was like, Rachel, do you know who Bill Murray is?
Starting point is 00:44:44 She's like, yeah, that's that guy who looks like a Goomba from Mario, right? I was like, yeah, I think so. Goomba? I don't even know that term. Yeah, it's like the bad guys in Mario. That's what Bill Murray looks like? To Rachel. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Goomba. Yeah, look at MJ. Look at this. I mean, just so Bill Murray's got that like umbrella hat thing on. Oh, the umbrella hat. So MJ's got the frontwards golfer cap here. And then you got Larry Bird. The umbrella.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Oh, and then you got the big guy in the back that has like, he's fixing a divot. That's a fun idea. Space Jam Golf. And I'm just dressed exactly like Bill Murray in that. Oh, that'd be awesome. He's got some, yeah, he's got some great style in this. So what would that be called? Umbrella hat called umbrella hat umbrella hat is definitely how you get there order one by the end oh my yep all right i'm gonna get distracted looking at that that's sweet how was the trip though was it it was a great time yeah it was fun it was really good golf
Starting point is 00:45:37 played well which is always good when you like spend money to go somewhere to golf it's like not a guarantee you're gonna play well but played well so that. So that was fun. Had so much fun. Beautiful scenery. Yeah, I didn't even know Georgia, like the Appalachian Mountains run down into Georgia. Who knew? I don't know if I did. Yeah, heard John Denver sing about them, but didn't know those were necessarily in Georgia. Well, because he sings about West Virginia in the song. Right. I thought the whole thing was based
Starting point is 00:45:58 there. But very pretty. By far the prettiest golf courses I've ever played. Really? It's really fun. Trying to think if there's any stories that really came out of it there was one golf course where uh the sorry i'm so congested i'm having like swallow my snot in between large sentences got a little sick on the trip because you've been you know i think it was something that ragweed down there i went to georgia growing up to visit my grandma in the spring,
Starting point is 00:46:26 which is not spring right now. So maybe this is not it. But yeah, I never had allergies growing up in Kansas. But down there, my first morning. Yeah. First morning there, I woke up and my voice is almost gone. I was like, out of nowhere. I felt great yesterday.
Starting point is 00:46:39 It was a rough scene for the first day on the trip. I just didn't want to talk because my voice hurt so bad. It's a bummer. Man, sorry. Anyway, there was one golf course. It was really rough scene for the first day on the trip. I just didn't want to talk because my voice hurt so bad. It was a bummer. Man, sorry. Anyway, there was one golf course. It was really nice. Sorry, it is hard. It's so thick.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Just give me a motion anytime you want me to like, you know, fill in something for you. And they had like a nice clubhouse pro shop. You could like, they had a breakfast menu, brunch menu. It's like, let's just go early to the course and eat breakfast there. I'm like, sure, it's going to be great be great we go there not many people in the parking lot we go to the hostesses and like hey guys looking to eat today and we're like yes um it's probably
Starting point is 00:47:12 10 50 a.m at this point what time is it we say hey our tea time's not till 12 10 we're just hoping to come in and get like some brunch or whatever and she's like hmm okay um she calls another hostess over to like help look at the tablet they're looking at this thing like we asked them to like you know do you think there's any way we could get beyonce to join us so they're wanting to eat food at our restaurant and we make that happen they're looking at it they are so stressed they're like kind of whispering i mean you think there's like a way we could oh no that wouldn't work that wouldn't work do you think i don't know i mean this the one girl looks so stressed i thought she's gonna quit right there she's like i mean i just she's got her hands all right i just don't see how this is i don't know how we're gonna do this back away and just walk out the door yeah
Starting point is 00:47:57 so then we start bargaining we think we're not even gonna get in so we're like we could sit at different tables if we need to like okay that could work that could work like all right it just it was so i don't know was it busy we didn't know we hadn't gone in they just acted like at this point they're just like that's gonna be so tough to fit five of you oh it's gonna be so tough to fit five of you we think oh you know it's just like there's so stressed there was like no one at the restaurant well that's what we thought like the parking lot was empty so like why are they like so stressed but i mean clearly they're like and okay tea time at 12 10 we're like yeah we're just gonna eat a quick breakfast we'll honestly probably go to the range at like 11 40 so you know just eat something quick like all right we think we can get you
Starting point is 00:48:36 guys in at two different tables as long as you sit inside is that okay like yeah didn't even know there yeah the inside's great that's how i normally eat and we walk in there dude and i'm not even exaggerating when i say this there are zero people in the restaurant it was so comical when we walked here isaac and i couldn't stop giggling there are zero imagine zero people in a restaurant there are zero people in there how long did it take them to make this decision i would say between 50 and 70 seconds. Okay. Of just like discussing,
Starting point is 00:49:07 like, do you think we could do this? Were they short-staffed or? I don't know. We, so I'll just keep going. A separate table? No, did they say separate tables? So we go in there. Every table is empty.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Every seat is empty. We're like, what in the world? Like, is this, this is so funny. Like, everyone just saw what happened. The stress that we induced them into. Right. And so like, all right. So two, you'll sit here.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Three, you sit here. And we're kind of like, OK, like kind of like quietly give each other looks. And then right next to us is a beautiful wood. You would have loved it. Deep, dark stain. Cherry red, maybe. Sure, sure. Table for five.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Five seats. Big table. I go, can we sit in this one and then she like almost interrupts me no no no no no no no no uh no that is reserved for someone at 12 30 oh okay you know i didn't say anything but i'm like i mean i feel like we'll be out of here by then so we eat our entire breakfast at two different tables next to each other next to each other to the point of harris's friend bl's friend Blake and Isaac shared bites without leaving their seats. He like passed a burrito to Isaac while still sitting in his seat.
Starting point is 00:50:11 This is pretty good. You want to try this? Yeah, I had him eat it right there. What in the world? And so we sat at two different tables with two different waitresses. We had Agnes. I forget who they had. And so they weren't short-staffed from what we could tell.
Starting point is 00:50:24 There was at least one reservation we know about at 12 30 and we couldn't sit at the main table it was so funny maybe they were just trying to like uh like like split the tips for agnes and you know stacy or something i don't know it was so funny and weird and how odd i i wish that you guys weren't next to each other i wish you guys were like across the restaurant like you guys want to get going so how far along coffee's pretty strong today huh i'm feeling a little jittery i need to take a nap and then wake up later energized it was awesome obviously we didn't care it's like oh we still get to eat whatever but it's like what a strange eggs benedict really make Make your own omelet.
Starting point is 00:51:07 Come to the flapjacks. I figured it was worth it. It's like, what? This is also the day I was at my knickers. So if you want to imagine that. Maybe that's why they didn't let you. They're like, this guy looks ridiculous. If he stays till 1230, those people are going to leave. Yeah, I made the comment.
Starting point is 00:51:20 I was like, the people come into that table. It better be Obama and Ellen DeGeneres sitting there. I'm like, who could this possibly be for? I mean, those people coming to that table it better be Obama and yeah Ellen DeGeneres yeah sitting there I like who could this possibly be for I mean those people definitely golf a lot so that's good anyway it was fine it was just like wow that was wild saw a snake later that day that sucked I yelled at it at it yeah I don't know I don't know what came over what'd you say I said you suck you suck you suck hey you sl. Hey, you slither somewhere else. You don't slither around me. I just pointed and yelled at it as we drove past it. Really didn't enjoy it. You didn't try to kill it or anything?
Starting point is 00:51:51 You just let it be? No, yeah. It was slithering off, and I just let him know I felt about him. Do they have a redeeming purpose at all, snakes? They eat mice? They tempt Adam and Eve. You think that's redeeming? I don't know why I said that.
Starting point is 00:52:05 Okay. Adam and Eve. You think that's redeeming? I don't know why I said that. I think we need to talk about what the fall is. Yeah, no, I what is what do they do? I think for every mice they eat, they also will like eat fruit in your garden and stuff. They used to eat our strawberries.
Starting point is 00:52:20 So what? Yeah. Oh, I would kill it so hard. Yeah, they used to eat our strawberries back then. Anything in your shed? What would, I would kill it so hard. Yeah, they used to eat our strawberries back in the day. Anything in your shed, what would you use to kill it? Oh, a shovel works great. Really?
Starting point is 00:52:30 Yeah. Okay. Killed a couple with a shovel before. I think you could kill some with some golf clubs. What iron would you use? You bomb tech that thing? Yeah. Do I want to go for like a high lofted iron?
Starting point is 00:52:40 A little more of a slice? Like a slice? Yeah. I mean, like more of a like a knife slice. Someone's like a little more weight to it, like a, not like a slice. I mean like a more of a, like a knife slice. Someone's like a little more weight to it. Little three wood action. I might just go straight driver and punt that thing to the moon.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Just watch that thing fly through the meadow. I'd probably go six iron. Okay. Probably my best club to kill a snake with. I don't know though. Getting close up to get, I don't know. Shovel, shovel or rake. Okay, but you're on the golf
Starting point is 00:53:05 course you're on the golf course then okay new question do you tag team i'm lefty you're righty we could we could smack that thing we kind of yeah we um you know circle it yeah yeah yeah that would be fun anyway we got a little off topic uh chiefs sunday i brought this whole thing up to talk about the guillotine league and we didn't get there. Okay. Let me back to it. Let's bookmark back to Chiefs event. Chiefs invited us to the game Thursday event Wednesday and also playing pickleball Thursday morning with what big chiefs name. I'll start with the more exciting part.
Starting point is 00:53:35 He's one of my home is his best friends. Yeah. The more lame part is that he's on the practice squad. But still. And once again, I didn't ask any questions, but he's been on the practice squad now for like a couple of years and he's still one of my home's best friends so he's like a true best friend right it's not like a status thing I think honestly I think he's on the team because of my homes he very well could be he's a white receiver his name's Gehrig yeah but looking
Starting point is 00:53:57 forward to meeting him it's just me Trey Gehrig Dieter and Jack Trey's manager playing pickleball I don't understand like I don't I don't. How did Jack get the hookup? Jack set it all up because Jack's really into pickleball right now. And so he set it all up. I don't even know. Like,
Starting point is 00:54:12 we're not filming any videos as far as I don't know. I don't know what it is. Just like a one hour. This is on Wednesday. No, it's on Thursday. Thursday is gonna be a great day.
Starting point is 00:54:20 So I guess the practice squad just like doesn't have any responsibilities. I guess you're not on the team. Yeah, you got day off. How early is it? it i don't know i have to check the email but pickleball in the morning yeah mood swings golf in the afternoon sure and go to the chiefs game that night that's a sporty day that's amazing it's a great game great day um anyway okay bookmark back to sunday chiefs are great guillotine league guill League. So we had our drafts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:54:45 Pretty fun. Yeah, very fun. Wednesday, we had our ladies in us or with us for the draft. That was really fun. And so, yeah, that was fun because Catherine and Rachel were on a team together. They did a great job drafting. We were encouraging them. We did give them advice along the way a little bit.
Starting point is 00:55:04 A little bit. You know. They were the first team to take a kicker. So let's just say we didn't tell them everything. we were encouraging them. We did give them advice along the way a little bit, like a little bit, you know, they really, they were the first team to take a kicker. So let's just say we wouldn't, we didn't tell them everything not to do. They really wanted a chiefs.
Starting point is 00:55:11 Like they wanted Harrison Bucker. Yeah. I think it was, it was Catherine. Like, let's be honest. I'm pretty sure Catherine was really into Harrison Bucker,
Starting point is 00:55:19 but they had a good team. They had a normal team, normal team felt good about him. There was a couple, there was always like one guy that drafts. There was one guy each, each like the Tuesday and the Wednesday leagues that was like okay this person's gonna lose yeah like one of the guys Nathan Cooley the on Tuesday night he auto drafted so he got the suspended Deshaun Watson suspended DeAndre Hopkins like all these
Starting point is 00:55:39 guys are like not a single quarterback yes that's right I remember he put in the chat because he's there he's like dang I'm about to start pickleball right now i may have to miss this and he did miss this he absolutely missed it which i mean like you could play pickleball and draft still it's an 18 person draft like you could just check your phone every once in a while um anyway so he was bad but then on the other league i think it was we was caleb that we thought was gonna lose right crew night caleb because he had he didn't have i don't know what he only had one quarterback yeah so maybe we're just like he's going down because i think he even made a joke in the draft like uh let's we're trying to figure out who crew neck caleb's uh guys i'm gonna pick up for next week or something like that so but alas but alas
Starting point is 00:56:19 crew neck caleb pulled it out and r and Catherine went down quick. First on the chopping block guillotine. Rachel was so sad. Really? Yeah. She's like, oh, I, she goes, I don't ask for much. I just wanted to make it to week three. Catherine.
Starting point is 00:56:33 That was her goal. Catherine, like halfway through, I think Sunday, like literally, I think she understood like the guillotine league thing, but she goes, I mean, what's the big deal? It's just one week. Oh, wait. league thing but she goes i mean what's the big deal it's just one week oh wait like it was like it was like she knew but she had forgotten like yeah just because you have one bad week doesn't mean it's the end of the season except it absolutely does and they lost by one point yeah it has never come down to that on a monday night game all last season it never came down to
Starting point is 00:56:59 anything that close so that was such a bummer it was awesome so rachel and katherine are out it's so sad and they had a normal team it's just a bummer well It was awesome. So Rachel and Catherine are out. It's so sad. And they had a normal team. It's just a bummer. Well, it's just funny. Like, of course, Catherine, Rachel, like the Thursday night game, Isaiah McKenzie, who's like the Colts fourth wide receiver. Bill, sorry. Same, you know, animal kind of people.
Starting point is 00:57:18 The bills like fourth wide receiver catches a touchdown, has a pretty good game. And we told him, like, I wouldn't start him. Robbie Anderson, their very last pick in the draft. was like i mean he's probably not gonna do great he had a great game he had a huge like 75 yard touchdown so yeah kevin was like i thought you said we were supposed to start alan robinson i was like i mean yeah i think that was the right move it just didn't work out uh so anyway but uh we've had some great trash talking in the in the group chats there's an interesting thing going on. There's a guy by the name of M.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Poindexter, who we learned early on. He's in the Wednesday League that he he had. He said a few things that hinted that he may not really know what's going on. He didn't know it was a guy. He didn't know what guillotine league meant. And so I was like, he thought it was like a cool thing that we're calling. Yeah. He was like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:58:03 I just thought it was like a word you guys made up calling. Yeah. He was like, I don't know. I just thought it was like a, a word you guys made up or something. So it was like, there's a strike one. And he's like, so you could get out of this. Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:12 So we learned that he's only listened to a couple of podcast episodes, but he somehow made his way into the league. So at first I was like, that's kind of cool. He, you know, Hey, he earned it.
Starting point is 00:58:20 He found his way into the league. We sure it's a guy. No, but you can kind of tell right fair yeah i'm definitely assuming that um and anyway he's turned into a little bit of a villain i feel like he came across pretty likable at first and now he's it's interesting he's asking maybe he's a cowboys fan i think he's trying to be i think he's trying to play the villain a little bit i like and now there's a little part of me that's like he took the spot of like so many diehard fans would have loved to be
Starting point is 00:58:48 in this guillotine league they've been waiting a year for it and this guy listened to two episodes and now he's in and just riling everybody up he's like can anybody tell me what the like what the word or how ghost runners came about like the term ghost runner no one gave him a solid answer so no i think it's fun it's it's kind of fun to have like the banter back and yeah someone literally just called him the toby of this league oh don't so people are dogging easy on him well i don't know then again he asked for it sometimes he is kind of asking for it he's saying some interesting stuff in there but either way it's off and running it's fun sorry rachel sorry katherine um sorry nathan cooley sorry nathan what what's the noise in hunger games whenever
Starting point is 00:59:30 they go out no oh yeah yeah is that the sound i thought they just make like the cannon sound when they get out oh i'm a really big hunger games guy so i know the answer and it's that's what we're gonna do every time so so katherine ellis rachel coop nathan cooley uh rachel katherine hung out without us this weekend that was fun our kids are growing up having kids together um yeah that was cool they all hung out and rachel afterwards she's telling me all about it last night when i got back into town she's like i had so much fun with catherine yeah she's like we talked about education for a while we talked about public education all this stuff she's like it was so amazing. And I was like, yeah, she, yeah, she's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. Rachel's like, yeah,
Starting point is 01:00:28 she's awesome. I was like, yeah, I live next door to her for two years. I worked with her for two years. She's awesome. Like the only reason I'm friends with Brad is so I can hang out with Catherine. We both talked about how smart Catherine is too. I was like, Catherine's really smart too. Rachel's like, yeah, I noticed that she's very smart. She poses. She's fine. She has her subjects. I'm just kidding. Oh yeah. Is that what Michael says about Jan?
Starting point is 01:00:48 She poses. I don't remember that. Really? I think it's when he has money problems and he's talking to Oscar. He's like, doesn't Jan like have someone like, isn't Jan smart? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:59 She poses. Which didn't Rachel say something funny about the word posers. What was it? Something with Beatles and posers. Oh, Rachel doesn doesn't know the she thought poser was like a good thing uh because she had a she had a beetle shirt on i was like you're a beetles fan i forgot we had already talked about this but she's like yeah i was like oh are you just like one of those posers that wears the shirt she's like no totally i'm a poser and i was like no rachel you like the beetles like no i thought you actually liked them. Like that. That's not what poser means.
Starting point is 01:01:26 I was like, oh, maybe poser. Maybe that like shows our age that like maybe poser wasn't popular. A poser was such a thing that we said in like in like seventh grade. Like we called everyone a poser because I forgot. She got it confused with some other like similar sounding words. Like for some reason, I was thinking it was this. Huh? But for whatever reason, that was funny.
Starting point is 01:01:44 But yeah, such a poser. dude yeah um but yeah anyway nfl season it's so fun guys if you're not on nfl red zone get on it i'm not gonna have like a normal sunday for a while going to iowa this weekend gonna be on the golf course uh doing a little scramble tournament with grandma flooring during the during the game sunday so that'll be fun that's another great reason to have a red zone so you can watch on your phone oh i don't want to be distracted brad you want to be present no you you drive from hole to hole yeah i'm driving oh my god look out for snakes flory can drive i'm driving miss flory um okay let's see i have some other things here oh i don't oh yeah okay i have go ahead do you want a game or do you want a game game game gift game or gift game game game game game okay
Starting point is 01:02:34 it's a quick game it's called okay so wednesday night along with doing the fantasy draft what did you do before the fantasy draft wednesday night i got this i got this i got this i don't know probably golfed or played a game or worked okay i'll give you a hint you were at my house without for the fantasy draft. Wednesday night. I got this. I got this. I got this. I don't know. Probably golfed or played a game or worked. Okay. I'll give you a hint. You were at my house without me. Oh yeah. Rachel and I took care of Rosie.
Starting point is 01:02:54 Yes, you did. Uh, so last week you were like, I'm excited to, you know, go to your house, see Rosie.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Oh no. Oh no. And I was like, I don't know if I can pick Rosie out of a lineup. Or then the very next day I was babysitting her. Correct. So you got some time with Rosie, probably an hour,
Starting point is 01:03:10 hour and a half. And I compiled a, a layout of nine babies. Some of them are our friends. Some of them are some ghosty babies. And one of them is my daughter. Okay. And you get to choose
Starting point is 01:03:25 which one is rosie so the game is guess who's rosie ring around the rosie ring around the rosie wow this is fun good luck this is all in one katherine almost got it wrong earlier okay that's good yeah she's like that's really hard is that her and i was like no oh i think i got it because rosie kind of looks like beau yes kind of looks like Oh, I think I got it. Cause Rosie kind of looks like Bo. Yes. Kind of looks like Bo. So I think I got it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:49 This is easier than I thought it was going to be. Unless I get it wrong. Top left. Correct. Let's go. Oh, I was nervous. I was going to get that wrong.
Starting point is 01:03:56 So that's a good, that's a good fun little. Yeah. Graphic there. We got a baby Brumfeld, Josh Brumfeld's baby. Good. We got baby Unruh tay unruhs no way yeah uh this is janna burns little girl that is will severance little girl that is
Starting point is 01:04:14 vander goons the goons did you text these people individually yeah take a picture baby and then look at that getting on the pod that is daisy that's tj and brooks little girl daisy's a great name yeah they all they were in between daisy and rosie oh they're they're their kids names are Look at Tate Underwood getting on the pod. That is Daisy. That's TJ and Brooke's little girl. Daisy's a great name. Yeah, they were in between Daisy and Rosie. Ooh. Their kids' names are Sunny, June, and Daisy. Incredible. Just very cheery names.
Starting point is 01:04:36 And then we got Palmer Peck, five-month-old Palmer Peck. Oh, no way. And then this is Jetlyn, Jet, Bree and Rustin's little girl. Oh, cool. So I was like, hey, can you send me five-month-old pictures of your babies? And I said, trying to make them generic, you know, whatever. So yeah, those were good.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Was that fun? That was fun. That was a fun little game. So yeah, first Catherine picked the one in the middle. Will Severin's daughter. I was like, that's not Rosie. That's not even close. That's not even close.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Yeah. Anyway, I did put one of Bo in there originally, like before everyone sent me all the things and it did look pretty similar. So I think there, I think without the time with Rosie this past weekend, I don't get that right.
Starting point is 01:05:10 But maybe so I, I saw Rachel holding Rosie a lot. I held Rosie a lot. I feel like I got some good time. Did you? Yeah. It was fun. I've never really looked after a baby before. It was all right.
Starting point is 01:05:20 I think I'm going to be a chill parent. Yeah, you should be. It's not worth it to not be chill on some things. There's just too much unknown. Baby's crying. It could be a thousand reasons. Yeah. She'll stop.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Yeah. I don't know. I'm not a parent. Catherine the other day was like, should we be worried about this little cough? And I was like, the cough she does like once a day after she like nurses every once in a while. Yeah. No, I think she just maybe is coughing a little bit of her or whatever. Not a big deal. She's like, okay.
Starting point is 01:05:48 I don't know. It's one of those things where I've just learned mother intuition is real. So I'm like, if you really think that you should do something about it, I support you on that. I'm not going to say don't do it. I'm just saying I don't think it's anything. I forgot we did that. Yeah, I had a good
Starting point is 01:06:04 time to meet rachel and rosie yeah put her to sleep uh-huh rachel changed her dipe she did i distracted rosie while rachel changed the type nice found a little toy yep that's fun yeah she's getting to be a little bit more interactive like she's smiling she's yeah able to play a little bit more and stuff so it's really fun uh somebody asked i can update it later but somebody asked about how rosie's doing or something like that she's great she's wonderful she's i guess i'll do it right now she's great she's wonderful uh she's five ish months old five and a half hattie is like best friends with her like cool anytime hattie tries to make her smile it
Starting point is 01:06:40 works like 100 of the time how he just makes these funny noises and faces and stuff and she just lights up rosie does um she's rolling over uh she plays with toys sometimes sleeps she's just really she's an easy baby to be honest like yeah like you said that she was crying that one day like when you watched her i was like that's crazy because she like never not never cries but like it's pretty rare um rachel had her tamed nice and easy yeah she had probably 10 minutes she's like you want to hold her it's like sure shouldn't have done that i think she looked up at me and she was like i don't know that face at all and she lost that's fair she is getting to the point where like now that i hold her and she hears katherine's voice she'll get a little upset
Starting point is 01:07:21 like it but she loves outside anytime you go outside just chill chill as a lark um chill as a button chill as a button on a button-up shirt so i i don't know katherine actually right before this i was talking to her on the phone on the way over here and she's like i saw somebody wanted to give updates on rosie so here they are and i was like i know all this she's like well i didn't want to say anything like that was like not true. Cause you, I was like, you don't think I know my daughter. She's like, you might be saying like, she can't roll over. That's not true.
Starting point is 01:07:51 I know. I know what she can do. I know the updates. Uh, anyway. So yeah, she's awesome. Everything's great. Uh, really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:59 Just the whole thing is fun. She's easygoing and wonderful. So, um, fun Rosie update.y update fun game yes i have a surprise as well do you hey surprise surprise surprise surprise surprise so i hung out not hung out i met josh brumfield today today yes surprise probably the last week and a half we've been trying to like get together because he's like where does he live he lives missouri somewhere lee summit cool maybe grandview cool um that direction um but he was like hey can we meet up i have something to give you and yeah i was like great so we met up uh at this parking garage the parking garage across
Starting point is 01:08:36 from chewy's on the plaza oh yeah which is a pretty sketchy parking garage like if you're there just like meeting somebody so it's like me and him like you know the stuff um but if you remember josh brumfield a couple three weeks ago was like hey my wife got me a screen print printing press for uh oh yeah christmas or his birthday or whatever he's like what should i make with it we gave him ideas so and we gave him just like a free reign of things free reign for brumfield uh brum springer so i'm excited because I don't remember what we said. Well, here we go. So we got, if you're not on YouTube,

Starting point is 01:12:11 I was like, what do I get? Yeah, can I get an internship? Can I get a job an iPad? Yeah, I would take an iPad. Yeah, I wanted to write my name on it and move it closer Cool, I don't know what that company was but that was fun on the golf course very first hole only one all weekend Out the wild. You did it. Cool. Cool. Should we go to some more?
Starting point is 01:12:30 Or you want to talk more? No, that's about it. Oh, I, hey, Ghosties, what are you doing on October 1st? Want to come to Kansas City
Starting point is 01:12:40 and buy a cutting board from Brad Ellis at Ellis Combs Regions? Oh, yeah. You got a little McLean's Market? Yeah, McLean's market and Shawnee. I got a little booth, so I'm promoting it now so that when it's time, you can come. And I've decided if you're, if you use a super secret code on your feet, just a verbal code, you just go on your feet.
Starting point is 01:12:58 I'll give you 20% off verbal code. So anybody wants to come meet me, hang out. It's like all day. It's like from eight to two which is all day that's all the entire day last last time i think it was like 10 to noon or something it was pretty short this is a to two what will you be wearing so people can identify you i will be the big guy in the ellis cousin gracious booth uh wearing the ellis cousin gracious shirt probably ghosties do your thing ghosties do your thing ghosties come to mclean's uh that's all i think i have written down gosh i your thing. Ghosties come to McLean's. That's all I think I have written down. Gosh, I can't wait to live close
Starting point is 01:13:28 to McLean's. Hopefully I'll be eating sugar by then. If you're not, get some nitro. Yeah. I had nitro this morning from Roastery. First of all, Roastery is so expensive. It's a coffee shop in Kansas City. $8 for this nitro. I don't think I'll do it again, but I
Starting point is 01:13:43 was buzzing afterwards. I i went i went from the roastery to the woodworkers guild have a reputation there by the way uh and i like it was kind of shaky i never get shaky i was just like oh i'm feeling this so careful with the roastery nitro i forgot why rachel and i were talking about it but we talked about getting a machine for you at our future house that would be so amazing i was like brad would just come over every day it would guarantee that we see brad every day yes maybe more than you want to see and then rachel even suggests like or you just put it in the podcast studio oh my gosh it's so fun having things or yeah maybe i should just convince you to pay for half of it with the ghostwriters
Starting point is 01:14:24 but like we split the the machine but it's just a coffee machine and i don't like the coffee i drink it till i like it because i've sunk 300 into it like i better enjoy this oh that'd be amazing i'll be so pumped anyway mount rushmore of universal guys gifts uh nitro machines yes let's do it schmores let's call sc, let's do it. Schmores. Let's call Scott. Let's call Scott. Yeah, this week is going to be universally loved people. Brad, you won.
Starting point is 01:14:54 So you should probably set the order, I guess. Is that what you did last week? I want to set the order and I want Scott to go second. So I would like to go first. So I feel like I have. I feel like the first one. Yeah. Yeah, I want to go. I want to go first. Scott, feel like I have, I feel like the first one, yeah, I want to go first. Scott goes second, you go third. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:09 I'm going to FaceTime audio him. A little life hack. You get much clearer audio if you do FaceTime audio, everyone. Okay? Okay. Okay. We're calling Scott, guys.
Starting point is 01:15:24 Who are you calling? What are you doing? what do you mean i mean what in the world takes it will you i text him 15 minutes go sit i'm calling in 15 minutes hey boys hey there it is there she is come man. Did you call him too? Hey there, Scott. It showed both of you on here. I was trying to figure out what was going on. I was just being stupid. Oh, cool.
Starting point is 01:15:53 I was being silly. Sorry, Hattie. Silly, silly, silly. Okay, Scott, the draft order is Brad, you, me. Scott, I won in a landslide last week. Did you know that? Was this the soccer EDM one, or was this the one that I missed no this was the one you missed the uh universal guys gifts have you gotten that part of the podcast yet uh no I'm still parceling it out throughout the week parceling it's much healthier much healthier that way you think that's where the audio comes out?
Starting point is 01:16:25 It feels like it's coming out the top. I doubt it. It's the speaker. It says speaker, but... It feels like it's coming out the top. I think it's coming out of both, dude. I think it's coming out of both. I don't know where to put it. We should audio him
Starting point is 01:16:39 on the computer. I think it's going to screw stuff up. Scott, say some words. Try to figure out what it's coming out of. It's both. Patrick Le it is it's coming out of both you got a nice phone jk all right we'll just put it right i don't know where to angle the phone all right so i'm going first and then scott you're gonna go second okay and jake is gonna go third so my first pick of universally loved people is uh just yeah there's no way anybody dislikes this person uh her name is beatrice white dang it friends call her betty dang it she was in my top four yeah gosh dang it i know that's good she's my one one that's good good one how much do you how much do you know about Betty White
Starting point is 01:17:25 enough to like her a lot not much honestly I here's what I think of when I think of Betty White is because I grew up with game show network uh and so she was on the match game and so like I never I've never seen an episode of Golden Girls um I loved her in the proposal and I watched her match game yeah she was good in The Proposal that was one of her finest works the way I know that everyone loved Betty White is because multiple times she'd be like trending in the last five years and every time people would be like
Starting point is 01:17:53 I was freaking out because I saw her trending no there's a reason she was on my list Betty, Beatrice White Beatrice White Scott what do you got my first my first draft is Wow. Betty Beatrice. What? Beatrice. Beatrice white. All right. It's color Betty. Scott, what do you got? All right.
Starting point is 01:18:06 My first, uh, my first draft is Dwayne. The rock. No way. No way. What a terrible one. Golly.
Starting point is 01:18:18 Dwayne Johnson. Are you kidding me? Who doesn't like the rock? I mean, I think he's fine dude the rock is awesome tell me sell them for me i heard this week we were talking about it this weekend that uh some like company ran like you know i don't know the rubric of the metrics but the rock is technically the most famous person in the world i believe that yes he's he that. And everybody loves him. No.
Starting point is 01:18:45 No way. He's the EDM. He's charitable. He's a wonderful person. He's the EDM of celebrities. There's a huge crowd of people that love him, but ultimately he's also
Starting point is 01:19:01 disliked by a lot of people. No, EDM is niche. I'll give you that. Dwayne The Rock Johnson is niche. It's not niche. There's no way my mom likes Dwayne The Rock Johnson. There's no way my dad likes Dwayne The Rock Johnson. There's no way your dad.
Starting point is 01:19:14 There's no way your sister. There's no way people like, no. No, no. Text Dave and Georgia. They like Dwayne The Rock Johnson. It's 11 o'clock. I'm going to text them right now. But we will get their comments, I'm sure on the Facebook.
Starting point is 01:19:25 Please. This is great. This is great. Dwayne Johnson with your first pick. Like that's like in the fantasy football draft picking, like, I don't know. Coop.
Starting point is 01:19:36 I don't know who miles Sanders. Yes. This is going to be, this is going to be a recurring theme for schmores. Is Brad just ridiculing? Probably. this is going to be, this is going to be a recurring theme for schmores is Brad. Just ridiculing. Probably. You're painting on your picks, I guess.
Starting point is 01:19:50 All right, Jake. All right. I got two in a row. Snake draft. Snake draft. All right. I'm going to go Tom Hanks. Good pick.
Starting point is 01:19:57 Okay. So like, so like Tom Hanks is like the rock, except everyone likes him. I mean, yeah, America's Dad. I think everyone loves Tom Hanks. And then my second pick is going to be Olaf from Frozen. No.
Starting point is 01:20:13 Bad pick. I give two thumbs way down to that one. I think he is by far one of the most universally loved animated characters. I thought you were going to say Ola from Pickleball. Count Olaf from the Lemony Snicket series Okay Hand up I have never seen Frozen Jake? Yeah
Starting point is 01:20:32 Scott? I've seen it once all the way through Which is surprising considering Palmer Went through a big Frozen phase I mean maybe I'm wrong About this but I don't even know if he's the most loved character in Frozen. Really?
Starting point is 01:20:47 I don't know. I've never seen it. You have no idea what you're talking about then. I just, I've seen like little clips of him. He's kind of annoying to me. You haven't seen the movie?
Starting point is 01:20:55 I've seen clips. No, he's definitely the most loved in Frozen. Yeah. That's for sure. Okay, okay. Because people, there's a lot of hype,
Starting point is 01:21:01 like minions get branded everywhere. Minions are so annoying because they're everywhere and they don't even talk. Olaf is the comedic relief. He's fun. All ages like Frozen. He's kind of like, what was Eddie Murphy's character in Mulan?
Starting point is 01:21:15 Like you could be six and like, you could, yeah, you could be six years old or you could be 40 and like Eddie Murphy's character. Okay. So you're comparing him. He's like a modern day Mushu. I understand that. Modern day Mushu. Okay. I'm into that all right scott back to you all right scott what's your next awesome pick all right all right all right matthew mcconaughey okay that's a good pick i like that one all right all right all right i i i'm sure there are people out there that don't like him but
Starting point is 01:21:46 i don't know why they wouldn't if if anyone has not listened to his book green lights highly recommend oh green light i have yeah everyone speaks really highly of that and they always recommend the audiobook yes you got it the way he tells stories is so captivating. It's wonderful. Yeah, that's a good pick. Thank you. All right, all right, all right. What's his name? What's his one of his brothers? Oh, Pat.
Starting point is 01:22:12 He's like, you know, my brother, Pat, P-A-T. And like the way he says that, it's just like, that's cooler than I could ever say that. It really is. Okay, man, I got a lot of good ones. Are we doing, I guess you did Olaf so I could do characters. Oh yeah. I got some weird ones coming. Okay.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Um, okay. I already went with Beatrice. Um, man, I got a lot of, there's so many, this is a, it's a tough one. I'm going to go with just a, uh, guilty. Like if you, if you say no no to this then you're a bad person pick mother teresa i don't know if she's universally loved why and how dare you i i don't know i just don't feel like she's on the same plane as like these people on my list probably because she's better you think maybe i don't know what do you know about mother theresa i know that she's never
Starting point is 01:23:10 done a bad thing in her life and she was very selfless she had a lot of high character sometimes when i think of mother theresa i think of jane goodall i get them confused in my head i don't even know who that is she was the one who spent her whole life with primates. You know what I'm talking about? No, I've heard that name, but I know Mother Trace is not or not that person. It's a good person. OK, third on the list. Man, I have so many ones I want to say.
Starting point is 01:23:43 I'm going to go with. Just just you see him once a year, just jolly old self. Dang it, that's good. I'm going to go with just, just you see him once a year, just jolly old self. Dang it. That's good. St. Nicholas.
Starting point is 01:23:52 His friends call him Santa Claus. Yeah, that's good. That's good. It's not as good as what my next big is going to be, but that is, that is pretty good. I mean,
Starting point is 01:24:02 I am just cleaning up with old people right now. I got Betty white, mother T and Santa C. I will say what you're doing right now is you're going a little evangelical here. What if they're not Catholic? What if they're Jewish? Then you just, hey, you lost two votes right there. You're not going to get a single Jew vote, Brad. That's the crazy thing is that Jews even love Santa Claus.
Starting point is 01:24:16 I don't think they do. Yes, they do. They don't. They shouldn't. They respect them. They don't. They don't. They're like, oh, I forgot the Mount Rushmore is universally respected.
Starting point is 01:24:23 Oh, wait. I'm looking down at my notes. It says universally loved. Oh, my gosh. I forgot the time that we disrespected someone that we loved. Or that we loved someone that we disrespected. There you go. Either way.
Starting point is 01:24:37 Jewish people are hard workers. Who works harder than Santa Claus? Once a year? No way. He works the rest of the year. The elves. The elves. The elves! The elves! The elves! Whoa! Who micromanages the elves? Who's the foreman of the shop?
Starting point is 01:24:51 Chris F. Kringle! Don't tell me it doesn't put him worse! I don't know if he does. I've seen the movie Santa Claus. So you're saying T.J. Macinas only works four days out of the year when he sells t-shirts? Wrong. No, he doesn't have elves working for him.
Starting point is 01:25:07 You don't know that? I've been to his house. Santa Claus, universally loved. I'm just saying we have a very large Jew audience, and I don't know if they're going to appreciate that. I'm one fourth Jew. There you go. I can speak for myself. And how did Bonnie, would Bunny agree with Santa Claus?
Starting point is 01:25:28 Uh, I feel like she was kind of lukewarm on Santa Claus. Give me a, give me an impression of how, like, give me a bunny impersonation of how she would review Santa Claus. Bunny is. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:25:39 go ahead. She, okay. Yeah. Preface. She was a sweet old lady from new England. Amazing. The thickest new England accent you've ever heard.
Starting point is 01:25:47 Scott used to tell everyone that she was a hooker? No, that's Nana Peck. Oh, sorry. Nana. Yeah. She was a rug hooker. But yes, we just referred to her affectionately as a hooker. Scott would tell that to people in like fifth grade at school.
Starting point is 01:26:00 Yeah, my grandma was a hooker. A rug hooker. No one knows what that is. It always elicited a great reaction out of people. Okay, so Nana Peck's review of Santa Claus. Nana Bunny's review of Santa Claus, Brett. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:26:16 Oh, Squatty. You know, Santa Claus, he just comes down once a year and he gives presents to the little children. But, you know know i'm just gonna pinch you upon them and give you your schnookums and i'll you know i'll cook you a nice home-cooked meal with some brownies and it'll be a wonderful time you can invite brad to come over he'll come over we'll you know we'll make it a day we'll go bowling that was great sc. We'll go bowling. That was great, Scott. We'll go bowling. She totally
Starting point is 01:26:45 did that. She'd always be like, let's go bowling. We need to go do something together. Yeah, she loved taking us on bowling dates, dude. That was great. Oh yeah, she would just sit with her walker in the chair and just watch us bowl. Scott, I think your bowling ball is a little too heavy.
Starting point is 01:27:01 Watch us bowl. So I got Betty White, Mother Teresa, Santa Claus. Scott, your next pick. Okay. My number three is my first athlete debuting on this list.
Starting point is 01:27:13 And it is the one and only Kobe Bryant. I feel like people might have been lukewarm on him while he was alive. Then he died. And I feel like everyone's've been lukewarm on him while he was alive. Then he died. And I feel like everyone's in on loving Kobe Bryant.
Starting point is 01:27:29 Yeah. That's a, that's another one that it likes mother Teresa. It's tough for me to say anything bad about him, you know, in the grave. But like, I love,
Starting point is 01:27:38 you know, me, Scott, I love, I've always loved Kobe, but I feel like there's a lot of people out there that did not like Kobe. I, I agree with you. and then he died yes and i think a lot of those people were like okay we love kobe now that's fair that's a good point that's a good pick that's well thought out yeah thank you thank you and might be the only athlete on the schmor so we'll see okay how people respond
Starting point is 01:28:01 single athlete schmor sass all right. My last two picks. All right. I'm between two. Elsa from Frozen and Anna from Frozen. And Mulan from Mulan. From the major motion. Precious from the movie Push. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:21 By Sapphire. Okay. Gosh. I know. This is tricky. There's two. I know. This is tricky. There's two. I'm going to go with Steve Harvey. What?
Starting point is 01:28:38 What? No, I like that. Yeah, no. Everyone loves Steve Harvey. Why is that so crazy? Steve Harvey's great brad's a contrarian i am a little bit of a contrarian that's fine that's fine to say that i am i certainly have i don't know i just have so many people on my list i would i would never pick
Starting point is 01:28:56 steve harvey oh yeah i think i think he's very well loved you just see steve harvey like that i mean you just ever you have nothing but good thoughts about him like oh yeah he's fun really i like him i grew up did you ever watch the ste have nothing but good thoughts about him. Like, oh yeah, he's fun. Really? I like him. I grew up, did you ever watch the Steve Harvey show? No. I thought he was annoying on that. So Cedric the Entertainer was the star of the show. That's a university love guy.
Starting point is 01:29:13 Okay. And then my last pick, I'm excited about this one. The Pizza Man. Oh, good. When you see the Pizza Man, you're like, hey, pizza's here. And you were fired up when the Pizza Man.
Starting point is 01:29:24 I thought about trying to figure something out. I was like, there's here and you were fired up when the pizza man i i thought about trying to figure something out i i was like there's got to be a generic thing like that like i had like the opposite of the dentist sure that's how i went about it yeah is the pizza man pizza man i'm trying to i'm trying to be contrarian on this but i can't think of anything so yeah my list i'm done now i went tom hanks olaf ste Steve Harvey, Pizza Man. Scott, your final pick. Wow. Well, it's a little surprising to me, Jake, that you didn't pick this man.
Starting point is 01:29:55 This could also be controversial, but my final pick is the one and only, the King Elvis Presley. Oh, really? I feel like there's a little controversy around the man, but it's hard to think of. I was trying to think of different areas of famous people, like musicians and athletes and actors,
Starting point is 01:30:19 and I was like, I don't know that there was a bigger musician, especially after watching the movie, that enlightened me. I don't think there was a bigger musician, especially after watching the movie that enlightened me. I don't think there was a bigger musician ever than Elvis Presley. I think, yeah, you, yeah, you might be right. Here's my feelings on that pick Scott. Uh, I don't love Elvis Presley. I don't dislike Elvis Presley. I just feel okay about him. The feelings aren't super strong. Yeah. I don't have strong feelings about Elvis Presley. There was, there was a lot of folks that was tough to pick a fourth i felt pretty good about my first three but i had several and i'll give you some honorable mentions uh go ahead for the fourth
Starting point is 01:30:55 no no no don't brad hasn't picked don't give him any freebies post post i will okay honorable mentions my fourth pick oh Do I go with the safer pick or do I go with the little bit goofier pick? Your picks, your picks, your picks, your picks. My picks, my picks, my picks. Your podcast, your picks. Alright, I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with a character. He's
Starting point is 01:31:18 based on somebody from our hometown. He's an Academy Award. He's award winning. His name is Theodore Lasso. He's a Academy award. He's award-winning. His name is Theodore Lasso. His friends call him Ted. Ooh. Yes.
Starting point is 01:31:31 Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis based them off of, you know, things from Kansas city. He's from Kansas city in the show. He's just literally the most positive like character in a TV show. And he's successful and he's wonderful. So I don't, I don't know how you say no to him.
Starting point is 01:31:48 So universally loved except for Nate. See, he does not love him. And that's fine. Nate, Nate's, Nate's not a listener of the podcast. I don't think I've ever seen the show. So I wouldn't say I love him. So you disagree. Well, I just, I, he's your Elvis.
Starting point is 01:32:03 I know that he is well liked. So it's probably a good pick, but I never seen the show. So I'd have no, I just I. He's your Elvis. I know that he is well liked. So it's probably a good pick. But I've never seen the show. So I'd have no attachment to the character Ted Lasso. Yeah. Which is similar to someone like Olaf. OK, so let me let me
Starting point is 01:32:12 put a quick review of everybody's picks and then let's do some honorable mentions. Cool. So Brad picked Beatrice Betty White, Mother Teresa, Santa Claus
Starting point is 01:32:23 and Theodore Ted Lasso. Scott picked Dwayne the Rock Johnson. Matthew Matt McConaughey. Kobe Bean Bryant. Elvis Presley. Jake picked Thomas Tom Hanks. Olaf from Frozen. Steve and Steve Harvey.
Starting point is 01:32:45 And the Pizza Man. Yeah. Those are fun. Okay, my one that I wanted to pick, but I didn't know if it was too niche, was Chris Berman. Oh, yeah, that was a bad pick. Really?
Starting point is 01:32:57 That would have been a bad pick. Why? My mom has no idea who Chris Berman is. You know, there's so many people who don't even know who that is. Okay. Neither does Brad's character in the latest Gene Schwartz video. What? You're like female character.
Starting point is 01:33:11 Dude. That was actually the hardest I laughed is when you were like, who is Tua? Who is Joe Puck? Really? I feel like if you know Chris Berman, you have a deep affection for Chris Berman. Yes. Speaking of which i need to watch and they're doing nfl prime time this year again i bet your bottom dollar they are
Starting point is 01:33:29 sky okay i need to watch that tonight then that's gonna be my activity after we hang up here i wouldn't say i have a deep affection for him i think he's like uh you know really like oh yeah he's good oh when he dies i'm going to be very sad like okay yeah yeah just the the catch phrases that he's come up with i liked him in the longest yard the remake okay it's funny that he was in that i mean like you watch nfl primetime and the things he says yeah it's just it's just like they don't make very many he's like the steve martin of sports announcers where it's like they don't make them like this anymore you know like you watch it it's like this is. Do you think anyone can do the
Starting point is 01:34:05 noise better than he can? Or even close to how he can? Not even close. I can't replicate it. I've tried. Okay. I thought you were about to... I also had... This one was like an internet pick
Starting point is 01:34:20 that I didn't really agree with, but I had the thought of it. Hasbula? Oh, no. he's so annoying i kind of thought i yeah no he sucks have you watched his interview with the guy from barstool yeah the sunday conversation i watched part of it and i turned it off yeah uh so freaking funny i had sir paul mccartney okay really like him he'd be on my like if i could have dinner with four people uh shaquille o'neal okay yeah i had shack as well i love yeah also on the list uh peyton manning also on the list oh that's a good one okay but see like when peyton manning was
Starting point is 01:34:57 playing i did not like peyton manning no because it was beat us so i think there's people out there that are probably still like you know know, on the hate train. Um, Jim Halpert. Yeah. Who says no? I almost, so my final pick, I was between two Steves. I want to say Steve Carell. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 01:35:15 Yeah. Um, that's a case of between two Steves. Jim Halpert, Paul Rudd, another Kansas City legend. Yeah. I don't think people love Paul Rudd. That's a good one. Um, Brad, no, Brad, no Chris Farley? I feel like he's kind of polarizing.
Starting point is 01:35:30 I think some people are like, that guy's stupid. But the people that love him, love him. Patrick Mahomes. That was on your list. I think he's still on the level where people don't dislike him yet. You still respect him. Eventually, he's still on the level where people don't like or don't dislike him yet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:46 You still respect him. Eventually, he's going to be like Tom Brady where he's like, I don't want this guy to win anymore. He's annoying. I think his family drags him down. That's, yeah. Mr. Rogers. Good. Princess Di.
Starting point is 01:35:59 I had it on my list. I put the queen apparently because everyone is posting about her. I've never seen them post about the queen before in their lives yeah everyone's devastated and then i got uh ryan reynolds with a question mark okay yeah uh and then will smith pre-slap okay that's good too yeah yeah p.s will smith yeah anybody for you guys Scott, what are your honorable mentions? I had Bill Murray on there. Okay. I had Robin Williams. Oh, dude, Robin Williams is the first name I wrote down.
Starting point is 01:36:33 Yeah. Also kind of niche, but I don't know that anybody dislikes Roger Federer, tennis player. Niche, niche, niche. See, I'm an adult guy. But it doesn't mean you don't dislike Federer. Yeah, I think kind of, because if they play each other, I'm rooting for Federer to lose. I had Jesus. Thought about going that, but I mean...
Starting point is 01:36:57 Yeah, it's just way too polarizing. Yeah, there's folks out there that, yeah. And Beyonce. She's up there. Queen B queen bee yeah that's pretty good um scott just real quick do you think uh more people know who roger federer is or tyson mcguffin well uh pretty close okay i think i'll give the edge to Roger Federer. Although this week we were out at Riverside with, I was with Sam and my in-laws and Ben Newell, a local and very small pickleball pro. No, everyone knows who he is.
Starting point is 01:37:35 Yeah. There were people asking to take pictures with him. No way. So I feel pretty good about when we go do our Tyson McGuffin video. Why? I cannot, I know who Ben is. Isaac and I used to play against him. He was in Tyson McGuffin video. Why? I cannot. I know who Ben is. Isaac and I used to play against.
Starting point is 01:37:47 He was in our chicken pickle. We were on the same in the same league. I played with him on Saturday. But yeah, people asked to play with him. They like one guy was like, can I play with singles? And then Ben just I mean, no mercy whatsoever. It was actually hilarious to watch. And then, yeah, there were people taking pictures with him.
Starting point is 01:38:04 And I was like, this is excellent. Pickleball is so cheesy. That's great. That's pretty funny. Oh, man. Okay, my honorable mentions. I'll just go on the list really quickly. What did they say? Morgan Freeman. Pat Sajak.
Starting point is 01:38:19 Kind of random. People don't have anything against him. Alex Trebek would be better than Pat Sajak. That's probably good because he's dead. Yeah, Trebek's a good one. Adam Sandler, Steve Irwin. Oh, Adam Sandler's a good one. Steve Carell, Boston Rob. You know who that is?
Starting point is 01:38:36 No. I don't know why he came to mind. Some people know who that is. Survivor legend. Oh, okay. Not Broccoli Rob. Will Ferrell, Mufasa. Catherine does not like Will Ferrell. Okay, glad I didn't say it. Kevin James. I know you would have liked that pick. Oh, okay. Not Broccoli Rob. Will Ferrell, Mufasa. Catherine does not like Will Ferrell.
Starting point is 01:38:45 Okay, glad I didn't say it. Kevin James. I know you would have liked that pick. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. The Queen, apparently. Raymond, just based on the show title. See, that's a clever pick.
Starting point is 01:38:55 Everybody loves Raymond. You can't say no, or it's like, well, look at the show. Look at CBS. It was on for a long time. And then the last one, honorable mention, was The Old Man from Up. Another very well liked animated character. Yeah. What's his name? Carl Fredrickson?
Starting point is 01:39:10 Perhaps. Yeah. Anyway, Scott, thanks for joining. Good schmores. This is going to be an interesting vote because we have like different, like very different picks. Like I picked like these old people, you know, older people. Scott picked absolutely like iconic people,
Starting point is 01:39:27 like the rock McConaughey, Kobe and Elvis, like three of the four people like don't even need a, you know, second name, rock Kobe, Elvis. And then Jake,
Starting point is 01:39:39 Jake went three, just ran like no, like Tom Hanks, Olaf, Steve Harvey, pizza man man i like to diversify which is smart it's great why about a second home yeah so make your picks on our facebook group yeah there'll be a poll up all right scott thanks for joining um hey real real quick boys i want to just share one thing from my week with you guys. Okay.
Starting point is 01:40:05 And I just want to paint this picture because I think you both will appreciate it. So obviously the first NFL Sunday is just a beautiful day, beautiful day of the year. This Sunday, it happened to be gorgeous outside in Kansas City. It was approximately 72 degrees outside. Wonderful day to spend seven hours on your couch. Yes, but get this. So went to church that morning, went to my mother-in-law's house right across the street, fired up the grill with some homemade pizzas, homemade pizzas on the grill.
Starting point is 01:40:36 Talk to me. Outdoor TV and pool reclining chair. Talk to me. In front of the outdoor TV. Let's go. Sitting there watching. In front of the outdoor TV. Let's go. Sitting there watching NFL Red Zone for the first time in my life. Hot dog. Hot dog.
Starting point is 01:40:52 Just, I mean, gobbling up the NFL. Hot dog. The pièce de la résistance. The cherry on top. The hot dog on top. Leftover puppy chow from the night. Hot dog! When I say you go look up bliss in the dictionary,
Starting point is 01:41:13 that is what I experienced all of Sunday afternoon. I even dozed off for like a 20-minute power nap and then woke up feeling so rested. Only thing would have made it better is just like a really poorly trained Australian shepherd just nipping at your legs all day. Wouldn't that have been awesome? You still had one. Still a to awesome? Now that you say that, I played golf with his new owner,
Starting point is 01:41:30 Matthew, Sam's cousin today. He said that he refuses to pee outside and has ripped up several sections of his carpet. He's got a rotten dog. Overcoming the sunk cost fallacy was a major win for the Peck family.
Starting point is 01:41:46 You needed to hear that. It was big time. So, yes. Anyways, that's all I'd like to share with you guys tonight. Well, thanks, Scott, for staying up late to do the s'mores. This was very fun. I was actually re-watching the Chiefs game. You would. It took him a while-watching the Chiefs game. You would.
Starting point is 01:42:07 It took a while to answer because the Chiefs were driving. He's like, I don't want to miss this. What's your prediction for Thursday, Scotty? My gosh, did Patrick Mahomes look nice? Everybody looked nice. Scott, give us a score prediction for Chiefs Chargers. I think we're going to go 34-24 Hot dog
Starting point is 01:42:26 Hit the over 34-24 Chiefs Of course Thanks Scott Talk to you later dude Have a wonderful evening Peace The Rock was a terrible first pick
Starting point is 01:42:42 I hope you guys could hear that well If not we'll just dub the whole thing Justin can you transcribe everything Yeah. The Rock was a terrible first pick. Nice. I hope you guys could hear that well. If not, we'll just dub the whole thing. Justin, can you transcribe everything Scott just said, word for word? Please. A couple different languages. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:42:54 All right. Fun little, fun little soad. We can wrap it up here. It's 1130 at night. Tuesdays are always the long days. Long day of content. All three channels. Yeah, seriously.
Starting point is 01:43:05 Especially when you're not in town on Monday. A lot to cram in, but love it love it love it love it love that we get to do this for you guys good good life good life oh i went to google chrome to look at my you know reviews of the week and i saw umbrella hat that was fun fun reminder that's still there um reviews of the week brad do you want to do one uh yes um this is from Abby from SACA. SACA? What do you think? I don't know. Native?
Starting point is 01:43:29 Probably. American? Probably. Or Canada. Oh. Saskatchewan, Canada. Saskatchewan. SACA.
Starting point is 01:43:36 That's what they say. She said, hey guys, I have so much to say. Period. But I'm too lazy and not going to type it because it's overwhelming how freaking blessed I feel to have this gosh dang talk show in my life. I love y'all so much and I've cried tears of joy many times. When I think about all the tough times you guys don't even know you've gotten me
Starting point is 01:43:54 and so many other people through. Please never forget that. Ghostie out. Abby from Saskatchewan, Canada. Five stars. Wow, that's cool. Yes. Cried tears of joy many times. it really that's crazy what how many times do you think she cried tears of joy this episode i don't know maybe 16 maybe when she heard i helped change rosie's diaper i'd bring a tear to most women's eyes
Starting point is 01:44:20 probably the smell bro tear to mine brother i don mind brother it was wild getting a baby in a sleeper yeah it reminded me of getting golf clubs in a travel bag it was pretty similar maneuver like you have to start with the feet first almost slide it in like you can't do it vertically science doesn't add up that's what i was talking about last week like i can i can take sound all day from a kid but like if they struggle too much when I'm putting the clothes on them or something feels wrong. I like, especially with my, when, when Hattie was young, I got so frustrated because in the middle of the night, often is when you change their diaper, you're half asleep.
Starting point is 01:44:57 You don't really know. I was still a rookie diaper changer, DC, and I struggled with it and i would get very like oh i think i was screaming she's crying sorry yeah no no no i get it i think i would be so nervous with the first skit of like what's the tolerable amount of like manhandling i can do like what is the tolerance like for force like is this gonna hurt them or i don't know you gotta move your arm right and i i'm a big believer when i change diapers of taking one hand because i got some pretty big paws and putting their feet up by their face essentially so like their legs are like way up there and i just keep one like one one hand just straight there the
Starting point is 01:45:34 whole time and i just maneuver the other side just getting under there yeah like getting yeah so when as they get older like bow he does not like that as much anymore so he tries to push back don't let him uh anyway but yeah strong arm I will say when it's your own baby you're not nearly as worried like you just feel comfortable yeah manhandling quote unquote yeah whatever you want to say so um anyway anyway thank you Abby from Sacramento um mine is from the Frito Bandito 217 and I love what they said, but the real reason I really want to read this is because they gave us a one-star review. So I just want to address that.
Starting point is 01:46:10 And Frito Bandito, if you could change that to five stars, it helps our livelihood. That would be more neato Bandito. It'd be very sweeto of you. It says, great podcast. Hey, Jake and Brad. Hey.
Starting point is 01:46:21 I love your podcast. Brad, I love it whenever you yell. Oh! Well, that was it whenever you yell. Oh! Well, that was echoey in here. That was good. Jake, congrats on not being single anymore. Whoa, Frito Bandito might be a little behind. I was wondering if y'all still get...
Starting point is 01:46:36 What do you mean? Congrats on not being single anymore. Oh, I don't know. I feel like that was probably announced in like February. Oh, people are still excited about it. Oh, okay, okay. I mean, he left an emoji. Frito Bandito free bandito's boy oh you use the male conjugates you're right free to bandita i was wondering if y'all still get free chick-fil-a with mr james they might be behind if you if you do you should try this. Get your meal to go. Pass.
Starting point is 01:47:05 Pass already. I pass. Order an eight count nugget. Pass. Order a medium fry. Order a small mac and cheese. Pass. Not healthy enough for me.
Starting point is 01:47:13 Order three pieces of bacon. Pass. Can't. I don't know if Frito Bandito has listened to the podcast at all. Get ranch. Pass. And Chick-fil-A sauce. Pass.
Starting point is 01:47:20 We like hundreds of barbecue. Take it home and put it all in a bowl. Pass. Takes way too long. Enjoy it. Thanks for the podcast every week. Thank you, a bowl. Pass. Takes way too long. Enjoy it. Thanks for the podcast every week. Thank you, Frito Bandito. What a great review of the week.
Starting point is 01:47:28 For the great review. You know what? I give you a review of one star. How about that? Two things that Chick-fil-A doesn't do well. Coffee and bacon. Oh, really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:38 I think their bacon tastes funny. Their coffee is truly awful. One thing they do well, soda pop. Yeah? I feel like their Dr. Pepper always do well, soda pop. Yeah? I feel like their Dr. Pepper always used to hit so good. Really? Yeah. And lemonade.
Starting point is 01:47:50 That's soda pop, huh? That's kind of how it tastes. I feel like McDonald's is the soda king and everybody else is just plain soda. You're right. When it comes to Chick-fil-A, they have better things. I will say Taco Bell is pretty syrupy in their soda. I always get used to, I haven't gone to taco bell in probably a year but i would always get mountain dew from there or pink lemonade i would never get a dr pepper from taco bell i don't know why it's too syrupy maybe i yeah subconsciously maybe i didn't like it they have a skinnier straw
Starting point is 01:48:17 and so maybe the syrup just comes out more thick yeah i just have certain restaurants that i'm like this is my drink for it this is all you, you know, pre-sug diet Jake. But of course, Panda, I'd go root beer. Yeah, I knew that. I don't know why. That was the only place I'd get root beer. Raising Cane's? Sweet tea.
Starting point is 01:48:32 Okay. And then, yeah, what were we just talking about? We were talking about Taco Bell. Oh, yeah. The Taco Bell, I always go Mountain Dew for some reason. It was just like, you gotta. No, just straight up. Okay.
Starting point is 01:48:42 So I just. Taco Bell is a a mountain dew like adjacent it just goes with it yeah man i do miss taco bell tacos mild sauce and i mean i haven't i mean i haven't had that since 2019 dang you'll get there good stuff um okay brad hey would you like to end this episode with a jingle i am not going to this week and there's no catch really. Kinda. Yeah. I just, honestly, I just hadn't prepared one and I know that people put a lot of effort into writing them.
Starting point is 01:49:10 So I didn't want to like haphazardly throw in together. So, uh, I'm not ending an episode with a current jingle. We're going to do a throwback. Uh, are you ready? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:18 Okay. Okay. Let's go set this down. Here we go again. I wrote this jingle for Steve Triplett. He requested it and that's a quest that I cannot deny and here we go again I'm not working with much information
Starting point is 01:49:51 just a handful but I promise I'll give it my best try yeah this one's for Steve tonight oh oh Jake is your son. Oh, oh, Trish is your number one. This jingle's for Steve tonight.
Starting point is 01:50:13 Oh, oh, you raise two kids. Oh, oh, Hayden's your favorite. I'm guessing she's your favorite. Jake, please tell me it would find right Here we go. Here we... Oh, wait. Here we...
Starting point is 01:50:33 Oh, crap, I did it. A letter for the chiefs A letter for the royals and the chiefs Nice. You go to work each week The work is so hard so hard and I won't be
Starting point is 01:50:50 surprised when you land the next patron interview oh oh oh there's always one more oh oh oh the fans are always asking for a tip while it's Steve tonight
Starting point is 01:51:05 Uh-oh, thanks for your son Uh-oh, we're thankful you raised him far We're grateful you made him fun So this jingle's for Steve tonight Come on, Steve deserves credit It's our cousin, it's how he did it It's Steve that gave us Jake deserves credit. Sarcasm is how he did it. It's Steve that gave us Jake.
Starting point is 01:51:30 We all should give him thanks. Well, Steve gets a jingle tonight. Steve gets a jingle tonight. There it is. There's Steve. There's no way. Here we go again. You think it's over? No.
Starting point is 01:51:54 Probably. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, This jingle is for Steve tonight Uh-oh, had a few lemon dogs Uh-oh, we're glad luck ain't lasted so long Did the trip but it never made it home This one is for Steve tonight Hey! For you, Stevie! Steve! We wonder how great you are
Starting point is 01:52:24 But we know you're great because your name is Steve. Stevie Wonder. It's going to fade out. Is that okay? Yeah, it's good. It's good. It's good. It's going to fade out. Hey, way to go. You way to go. Wow. Both of you, way to go.
Starting point is 01:52:43 Woohoo! Isaac, way to go. Who's Both you way to go. Isaac way to go. That was maybe one of my favorite jingle experiences I've ever, I've ever been a part of. First one in Arizona, I think. And then also just be so yeah. McLean's October 1st. Yeah. Yeah. We're coming out with merch sometime in the near future ish. We are, we're coming out with jean shorts merch also in the near future yeah that'll be fun so um and girls got mild if you want to support us that way so yeah yeah yeah fun day today fun day of shooting fun day man um tell you what vote for uh the schmores vote for mine please just vote for mine
Starting point is 01:53:23 please if not then you're saying that you're choosing Matthew McConaughey over Mother Teresa. I think about the Pizza Man, though. That's exciting when the Pizza Man's there. Listen, I think you hit the nail on the head with chocolate-covered pretzels last week, and I think you're going two for two with Pizza Man. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:53:39 Your light round picks are immaculate. The ones out of the box I always feel really good about. I can't do it with the normal picks. You really hurt my, you really like a tampered my flame on the Chris Berman. I thought that was a really good pick. Oh really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:51 Just to be completely honest. I didn't think that was a very good pick. I understand. Does this make you feel better? I was being totally honest. So like what I was saying earlier when I didn't like, it was like, just like being real,
Starting point is 01:54:02 like just didn't like it. Like I just meant like, I thought it was bad. I thought you did a bad job on that one. I didn't want you to think I was just doing it was like just like being real. I just didn't like it. I just meant like I thought it was bad. I thought you did a bad job on that one. I didn't want you to think I was just doing it for the podcast. Like I legitimately did not like that. It wasn't a good idea at all. It wasn't a bit like it was.
Starting point is 01:54:13 It was a bit much of you to think that was a good answer. Like that. He was the reason that I had the idea for this category. Because of your love for him. Yeah. Interesting. I just I just watched it. I was like, he's one of those guys.
Starting point is 01:54:25 We're going to miss him when he's gone. So, hey, there it is. Good. So thank you guys for listening. Thank you for supporting us. Oh, I was going to mention, do at the very end, August was by far our biggest month ever.
