Starting point is 00:00:00 This past week on our Ghostrunners Facebook group, Andy Johnson posted, which Andy Johnson, what's that nickname you're always calling him? Oh, old John Bones. Yeah, old John Bones, AJ John Bones. He posted, he said, a petition for a Brad and Tymon duet of the longest time. And I feel like the comment section was just like petition for brad and time and album any album any song people are making song requests time and screenshots it sends it to us it's like i mean i'd do an album and then i texted back and i was like do we have enough time for you guys to knock out a christmas album and so i just want to know brad you were busy yes i
Starting point is 00:00:42 didn't even see i didn't even know there was two screenshots. Really? Yeah, Brad. I missed it. Yeah, Tom and I were talking about Chris's album. So what are your thoughts, first of all? I mean, I love Christmas. I love albums.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Would we rent out CDs or would we just put it out digitally? I'll handle the distribution. You guys do that. I'll do the CD rentals. I mean, I don't know if I have a ton of time, so maybe we should just do a song per episode for a while and just compel somebody else figure it out. Yeah, just record on the podcast live. Yes, these microphones are as good as what
Starting point is 00:01:11 we would use in a recording studio. Yeah, so go for it. First song in the album. Here it comes. Unless Silent Night from a few weeks ago was the first song. No, it's a very that's the last one. You and that's going to be culmination. Good night, silently.
Starting point is 00:01:27 All right, first song on the album. Yeah, maybe All Things Silent Night would be our last one. All right, I'm not even going to give you the key. Okay. But we're going to come in together. You go for something? Oh, come in together. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:37 All right. I'm going to start with the D flat. I have no idea. This is going to be interesting. Yeah, you're right. Let's just try it. And then if it's terrible, because it's going to be interesting? Yeah, you're right. Let's just try it. If it's terrible, because it's going to be, that's funny.
Starting point is 00:01:49 I'll watch. Ready? Come. Good try, guys. That's what I'm going to do right there. Come. I can provide background. What time signature is this? 4-4, come. I can provide background. What time signature is this?
Starting point is 00:02:06 4-4 probably. I think 4-4. Yep. Maybe. Come, they told me. A newborn king to see. Our finest gifts we bring. To lay before the king. King So to honor him When we come
Starting point is 00:02:59 Uh-oh Ooh, I think this tight beat Means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white me too midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat so come along let's have some fun and go ahead get on your feet because it's a ghost All right, good job, guys. You already got two songs done on your Christmas album. Did you know, Jake, when I was in high school, I made a Christmas album for my mom? Mary, did you know?
Starting point is 00:03:37 George Ann, did you know? George Ann, did you know? It was so bad. I bet. I bet that was cute. I mean, yeah, audio, like, you know, recording software back then was so bad. It was, but I bet that was cute. I mean, yeah. Audio, like, you know, recording software back then was even worse. Yeah. You have to use audacity on your PC and your living room. I had some plugin, you know, that you could plug your guitar and your microphone into it. Like it
Starting point is 00:03:55 was a nice line six, you know, but even then once you, once you try to mix it, it just sounded so, you know, you add some reverb and garage band and it's like, this isn't, this isn't the thing. Um, I bet my mom still has it though. Yeah. If we need to put some stuff on Patreon for it, that would be awesome. Top tier only. That's funny. Rents out the CD to this day. Yeah. So rent it out. Everybody wants it. Yeah. Maybe that's it. It was just a traveling CD. Rent it out to people. Yeah. Do you think your kids will make you a Christmas? I hope so. Christmas song Christmas? I hope so. Christmas song someday. I hope so.
Starting point is 00:04:26 They sang for me this week. That's dude. Yeah. Talk to talk about that. Talk about your birthday. Catherine and the kids just rang my doorbell and I open it and it's Catherine and all three of them. And Catherine's there standing with a plate of brownies and a candle in it.
Starting point is 00:04:39 It was Rosie there. Yeah. Rosie was there. Oh, okay. And she goes, all right, go,
Starting point is 00:04:44 go, go. And then they all sang me happy birthday. It was awesome with Oh, okay. And she goes, all right, go, go, go. And then they all sang me happy birthday. It was awesome. With the harmonica. And then Bo, yeah, pulled out a harmonica. Go, Bo, go, Bo. Started going nuts with the harmonica.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Yeah, it was a great Facebook video too. And then Hattie, right here, Hattie wrote me a little letter. Dear Mr. Jake, have a good birthday. I like playing engineer with you and Bo. Love, Hattie. That's great. Train engineer. Or just like, you knowattie that's great we do some civil engineering together when you're gone I like playing engineer with you
Starting point is 00:05:12 so yeah Hattie's the best, Bo's great Rosie's coming alive a little more every day so yeah it was awesome they came over and just hung out for like 10 minutes and sang me a song, not on Christmas, but still fun. Yeah, sure. Yeah, what else did you do for your birthday?
Starting point is 00:05:29 Rachel was out of town, so I went to church by myself. It was fun. Saw a lot of friends there. Yeah. Old friends from Kanaka, friends from Kansas City. And I went to a new campus this past week. Downtown one? Yeah, Crossroads one.
Starting point is 00:05:44 So it was fun. Saw some new folks. And then took myself golfing. I went to a new campus this past week. Downtown one? Yeah, Crossroads one. It was fun. Saw some new folks. Then took myself golfing. Had a good time. Then I think shortly after that when I got home, Rachel got back and we just had a little supper. I think we watched something on TV. Just a nice night. That's good. So she got back
Starting point is 00:06:01 eventually. It wasn't like she didn't get back the next day or anything. Yeah, she got back later that night. Yeah, it's all good. It she got back eventually. It wasn't like she didn't get back the next day or anything. Yeah. She got back later that night. So yeah. Yeah. It's all good. It's a good birthday. I mean, there's not many expectations for adult 30 year old birthday. It's like, oh, I'm fine. Cause people are like, oh, Rachel's out of town. Like, it's all good. This is how I live for many years. I'll be all right. You know, like I am all good. Yeah. A lot of solo birthdays. Yeah. It's just nice to be recognized on your birthday, though. Some brownies. It was great.
Starting point is 00:06:27 You know what I was actually going to do? Rachel got me a massage for like last year at Christmas, and I still have never used it. So my plan was to use it Monday after my birthday. It's like, Rachel will be at school. You're out of town. We're not doing correct opinions on Monday. I'm going to treat myself. A little birthday gift to myself from Rachel.
Starting point is 00:06:42 This place, it's Solera spa or something yeah down south and first of all their website there was no like easy call to action there's like a phone number and then the main button on the website says book a tour i was like tour is that what i want is that what they call it in the massage industry i don't think it's a tour they they want it they want you to get the tour and then they'll get you on the subscription or something. Yeah. So I was like, tour sounds weird. And so I'm browsing the rest of the website and the entire website seems like it's as if you are like an individual, like third party, like hairstylist or something. I think that is what it is. And you want to like rent out. That's where my barber is. He works in there? Yeah. Cause they have
Starting point is 00:07:20 individual, maybe you're on the wrong website. Well, I kept trying to find it. I was like, all right, is there one for customers? But I mean, I was on solarispa.com or whatever. It wasn't like backslash vendors or anything. Because the one that I go to, I thought, is called Solera Salon maybe or something. But yeah, it's like everyone is like a room this size or smaller, and they just have their own small businesses in there.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So yeah, I was like, Book a Tour? I don't know if it's... But then I did find a small part of the website called Book Appointment. I was like, oh, there we go. Book Appointment's got three categories. It was like wax, haircut, or hair color. I was like, well, which one would massage be under?
Starting point is 00:07:58 Are you sure you weren't on the salon website? It was the... I think it's all... It's Solera, salon, and spa. I think I've been misspeaking because I couldn't remember it., I think it's all, it's, it's Solera salon and spa. I think I've been misspeaking cause I couldn't remember it, but yeah, it's all one. And so then I do find a phone number, dude, I've called them like four times. I've left four voicemails being like, Hey, yeah, would love to spend money at your place. Please call me back. There's just no other way. I like, how do I do this? Yeah. You can't just walk in. Cause it's not like
Starting point is 00:08:23 the likelihood of them just being available to massage you right then is not likely. So I'm probably gonna have to go in like drive like 25 minutes down there or whatever. And then like book an appointment and have to come back later, I guess. Real, real old fashioned, real brick and mortar. Well, I mean, well, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:39 I was going to say, if anything, we've talked about how you want to use my barber eventually for your haircuts. You can use the gift card on that. It sounds maybe not it says like i have like i figure what's called like relaxation massage or whatever like i have like it's for a specific type of massage i'm still not sold that you're on the white red right what the white red does yeah if you could find me the solera salon and spa massage version be careful but if you can you can find that, I would love to book an appointment. Also, just regardless, the fact that
Starting point is 00:09:08 I've called them four times and left four voicemails and they haven't called me back. Yeah, it's true. Get a grip. Let me spend money on you. Get a grip. Let me do business. Are you sure it's not Solaris massage? It is not Solaris. Okay. Just making sure. I do see Solaris salon and spa.
Starting point is 00:09:24 You see Bookatour? I have not gotten their website sure. I do see Solaris Salon and Spa. You see Booker Tour? I have not gotten to their website yet. I'm on the Google Maps. I'll figure it out. Either way. I wasn't really planning on talking about that, but that was the extension of my birthday. Ooh, a little massage.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Sure. You deserve it. And instead, I've just been frustrated calling. Each time I call, I get a little bit more like, me again. Hey. Just trying to give you guys money. Once again, would love to be a customer.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Then again, they're like, well, we already got your money. So in a way, yeah, it's like we already spent it on the gift card. Interesting. Huh? Yeah, I totally see where you're seeing. Stay tuned. Okay. You could always go to the one in Centennial, Colorado, Alpharetta, Georgia, or Lone Tree,
Starting point is 00:10:04 Colorado. I do like Alpharetta georgia or lone tree colorado i do like alpharetta it's a beautiful little suburb oh it's it's amazing it's way better than numero retta alpharetta beta retta yeah beta retta what it worked gamma retta omega retta all the things anyway how was your birthday my birthday was awesome last year yeah it's always it's always a good time. Yeah. It's just nice to feel appreciated, everyone. Thanks for that.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Yeah. I did think about you on your birthday. I sent you a quick little text. I appreciated that. Yeah, everyone was very nice. Thank you, Ghosties, for the birthday wishes. Yeah. It was very nice.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Nice folks. Is it far enough down the line that we can talk about that birthday where that girl kind of stood you up at Dave & Buster's? Do you remember that? She stood me up? I don't remember. Oh, yeah, she didn't. Did she just not come? It was a weird, yeah, I just felt really sad for you.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I will say I don't remember feeling sad, but that's a bummer. You seemed totally fine for it. It was like us, the Duckworths, and you. Yeah for it was like it was like us the duckworths and you yeah it was like so and so might come this girl that you were kind of dating but kind of more talking to and we're like really excited to meet her and then she didn't end up being i don't know if she stood you up but it was like i do kind of she ended up being like i can't come i can't make it and it was just like oh all right i got brad gunner though yeah yeah yeah you know that's probably why i didn't end up with her because rachel similar scenario not birthday but like hey i
Starting point is 00:11:30 just started dating this girl now i got a comedy show in kansas city you know it's a big thing to invite someone to be a part of it rachel shows up kills it crushes it the whole time so you did one on your birthday no i'm saying just like similar in the sense of like kind of when you just start dating someone and then you have a significant event. It's like, do I invite them? Right. Did they show up? Was it a fit? Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:49 In a friend group? Oh, and it was. Old 2020 lady, whatever that was, 2019 maybe. Didn't show up, didn't end up together. That was when we told Emily and Gunnar that we were pregnant with Beau. Cool. Yeah. Fun memory.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Fun memory in the parking lot there. That's cool and that was also when gunner uh before i saw him uh i was reading his text from siri and it says can't wait to squeeze yeah that was the same night it was a big night that's memorable yeah you're welcome for that yeah but anyway big event right when i started dating rachel we're doing all this stuff. We're doing this big party, whatever. Jake's doing a show in Kansas City. I remember Rachel at the time being like, I can't believe you want me here for this.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I just met you. And I was like, yeah, I think you're the real deal. I want you to come. I think I might want to spend the rest of my life with you, actually, not just this night. Can't wait to marry you. So yeah, fun times. Brad, I have some things I want you to look at okay thoughts
Starting point is 00:12:46 what would you other would you other which sense would you want to get involved ears or eyes um i think eyes because you said eyes i want to look at some okay something um first up let's pull up that let's just pull up that instagram account i sent you time and the most recent thing i sent you okay this came up on my feed somewhere, explore page. And I think this kid, it's going to be a little weird, but if timing and I had a kid, I think it's this guy.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Oh, what do you think about this kid? Uh, do I just like, what? Oh, there he is. Marikana Marikana,
Starting point is 00:13:21 which sounds like one word. Marikana. This guy Which sounds like one word. Maricana. This guy's all about Americana. This guy's born in Philadelphia. He loved Maricana. I could see it. I could see it for sure. Any specific video you saw?
Starting point is 00:13:35 I mean, it's just the look of him. Yeah. I think the hair is a Jake hairstyle with a little bit of time in face. So, yeah. I couldn't find. Good looking kid. The video that came up on my Explore page was someone reacting to him. And so I can't find the original video.
Starting point is 00:13:51 But in that one, he is dancing and moving around. Ooh, yeah. Jake's kind of outfit there. Really just looks kind of like Jake, but a different face, which is Tymon's face. I get it. I get exactly what you're saying. I was just shocked to see this come across my feet. I was like, wow, look at this guy. He's really successful.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Big video editor. Sound like anybody you know. That's why you need... Oh. Anyway, so there's that. That's just old Merrick. There's Merrick. Feel free to look him up. You want to see someone who looks like me and Tymon, kind of. Okay. Next up, I want to make sure we have audio for this one okay yeah just play that girl from
Starting point is 00:14:30 tiktok this is a screen recording that i took myself just that i wanted to show you cool uh everyone come to youtube look at this give me your thoughts best faith save middle earth my heart love you roses smell so good save middle earth save middle earth dominant thank you a rose smells so good dominant thank you love you a rose smells so good oh i'm an elf what what in the world dude imagine me just scrolling tiktok yeah what are you watching to get that on your tiktok i will say well disclaimer anyone else uses tiktok i love your thoughts the main feed algorithm seems very different than like the live stream video algorithm i think the main feed like it knows like I want to see sports and dogs and comedy. And then the live stream,
Starting point is 00:15:28 it's like, maybe you'd like this old woman. So that's a lie. I don't even know if I've messed with the live one. Well, just like every like, I don't know, six videos you scroll, it'll show you a live stream that's going on right now. There was like, because there's like the STEM one
Starting point is 00:15:40 and there's the for you or whatever. What are you saying, STEM? Yeah. Science, technology, engineering, math. that's what i've heard too what are you talking about what you don't have that you never heard of stem i've heard of that acronym but not within tiktok i have for you and following that's all i've ever had really you have science technology engineering and math i'm gonna feel like a dingus i'm glad i followed i was like yes no way look right right next to following stim what in the world
Starting point is 00:16:14 you have science technology engineering of math as part of your tiktok feed yeah you guys laugh in my face well i don't have that version of tiktok that's i've never it's always like okay maybe you have a live thing that i don't have. Yeah, though that's a fair assumption. I feel like I even have so many different TikTok accounts, and none of them have STEM. Weird. Is it the app version? Is it like something not updated? I bet it's something they're just beta testing.
Starting point is 00:16:35 You know, one in every like 10 users gets the STEM thing, and they're seeing how it works. Well, haven't you heard about like the TikTok idea of like China gets engineering and we don't? And so I thought, that was my thought was like well we'll give americans engineering but they have to go to a different page or a different tab that i've never gone to so okay so anyway like in your main for you page every now and then we'll send you a live stream and i feel like that algorithm is wacky i see so this girl was on live stream she was on live show i was like i gotta stop and watch this and imagine me just watching that and then she she burps, dude. So what is she? I was having a hard time understanding her at first.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I think she was saying, save Middle Earth. Okay. Did that clear things up? At least I didn't even understand what she was saying. So yes, that's what she's saying. And then she says about love. I'm hoping time it can help fill in some blanks for me. But I think are these called e-girls and e-boys when they do this?
Starting point is 00:17:24 Is that what they're? Maybe. That could be wrong, could be right. I don't know. It's my generation, but I might be the wrong person to ask about this. But what they're doing is, I think if you're a subscriber of them, I couldn't see it. But I think people are paying to send them emojis. And each emoji or gift, like it's a gift that looks like a rose or something.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Each one of those gifts that cost them money, that earns them money. They vocalize? They just have a rose or something. Yes. Each one of those gifts that cost them money, that earns them money. They vocalize? They just have a reaction to it. Oh. So it's like. So it's not like they send an apple and she goes, apple. Basically. Oh.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So it's like someone sent her a rose. And so then she was like, a rose smells so good. Okay. And that's just the content. That's what she does. She earns money. She's making, you know, a good living because people are just sending her these gifts and she just reacts to it. I don't know what the burp one was.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Or else I would just send that over and over. Or was that just, do you think that was involuntary? You think after, you know, there's only so many saved. Middle Earth. It kind of seemed in beat with it, though. It was like part of the... Fast forward a little bit and let's watch the burp part again. Okay. Because that's where it really went to the next level.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Thank you. A rose. Smells so where it really was. Thank you. A rose smells so good. Dominant. Thank you. Love you. A rose smells so good. Oh, a burp from an elf. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:38 On one hand. No, it is. It was, it was intentional. I think. Yeah. Or did she just like had the burp coming and was like, I'll embrace it.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Because she says, I think she just said, oh, a burp from an elf or something like that. I think she... Maybe it was part of it. It's supposed to be an elf? She's all got a part. She's like, achoo, a sneeze. It feels so good. Dude, were people always weird and it's just getting more exposed now because the fact that
Starting point is 00:19:06 there's an industry for that the fact there's one person is like okay yeah weird also yeah if you're not watching she's dressed up like an elf her ears have been molded to look elfish like like the fact like yeah okay one person's weirdo yeah i've seen weird people before but like there's there's thousands of people that are enjoying this girl enough to where she's making a living doing, doing this weird thing and having this weird cadence. You know, it's like, what the heck? And,
Starting point is 00:19:33 and people are just on the other side of the screen being like, Oh, Rose, Rose, Rose. Like what in the world? It's your question. I do think people have always been weird,
Starting point is 00:19:43 but now you just have so many different outlets to express your your weirdness your counter culturalness i don't know if people are always that weird well that's what i'm saying like i think that's with that weirdness was within people maybe 500 years ago they just didn't know they're not a place to put it they couldn't give you tattoos like that you couldn't get fake hair like that you couldn't get you tattoos like that. You couldn't get fake hair like that. You couldn't get fake ears like that. It's like, yeah. Since insensibility time, they're like, a stable boy. What would be the word? A stable boy. A stable boy.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Smells so good. Yeah. Quill. Pin. Paper. So, yeah, I knew you'd get a kick out of that is something else i had kind of heard of that i'd seen some stuff like this before but never of my own like never on my own screen before i was like i can't believe i'm finding this so i just tossed on a little screen recording it was great once you hit the burp i was like yeah we're good wait can we can we just comment real quick timing has some
Starting point is 00:20:43 contacts pinned which is a big you know iphone also brian i tried it timing we didn't love it i i'm i'm still trying it though i'm still on it you're like pushing through i gave it a good four hours i was like nah but i'm still not used to it like i was like katherine texted me i don't see your text no it's up on top it takes a while to get used to i don't like it um all right time and spin but look over here uh timon's contact for Maisie now says Midgee. That's awesome. And those are like professional headshots. Good for Midge, though.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Well, that was from, we did like a Greenleaf promo video. She had an interview, and so it just happened to be like nice lighting. Nice. Yeah, so it's just a screenshot. Cool. Wow. That is funny. Ha ha.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Ha ha. Laughter. It ha. Laughter. It's so weird. Like I can't even do it. Maybe, maybe there's more skill to it than we think. Maybe she's pretty good at it. Or maybe if I just get something like sent to me on a screen, I can say the words out loud.
Starting point is 00:21:36 I need to start sending you more like TikTok live stream things I see. Cause I probably only get on TikTok to scroll once every like 10 days. And every time I do, I'm like, dang, this is, it's getting weirder every time. It's like when you go grocery shopping, you're like, man, a bunch of days. And every time I do, I'm like, dang, this is, it's getting weird every time. It's like when you go grocery shopping, you're like, man, a bunch of new cereals every time.
Starting point is 00:21:49 But there, there is some content creators, if you can call it that, who will, their content is they sleep on TikTok live. I've seen, I've, you've seen this? You've seen,
Starting point is 00:21:59 I've heard of this. And they're like, the wall behind their bed will be like these neon or led lights that basically explain what's going on and it'll be like uh one dollar or i guess it would not it would be one dollar be like rose like rose uh phone vibrate the five dollar gift whatever that is zebra phone alarm the ten dollar gift music source basically you are trying to wake this person up so that's like the gig it's a tiktok live stream where if you give them gifts they've got it programmed where these things
Starting point is 00:22:30 will go off in their room okay make noise that shake the you know $20 gift shake the bed 100% I do it every time I have a newborn child it's like oh the baby's asleep her baby's awake I don't know I didn't hear it Catherine I don't know what happened I've like, oh, the baby's asleep. Her baby's awake. I don't know. I didn't hear it, Catherine. I don't know what happened.
Starting point is 00:22:45 I don't know. I've been asleep. Oh, yeah. You're just like, it's like $100 earthquake, and your bed's just like flying around. He's still asleep? Not yet. Not yet. I'm waiting for the tornado.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Waiting for the $10,000 prize. Like hydraulics and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Something. Yeah. Something. Wow. So that's some content that I've seen before too.
Starting point is 00:23:10 That is so man, the world we live in. Yeah. Send me some more. I, I've seen like live, but I literally just, I think I'm in a program to just like,
Starting point is 00:23:19 if I see certain things, I know there are things I'm not interested in. Like same with like, I know this is an ad on here, so I'm just going to keep scrolling. Yeah. But yeah, the lives too. I'm like, this is not, look at the rest of things I'm not interested in. Like same with like, I know this is an ad on here, so I'm just going to keep scrolling. Yeah. But. Yeah, the lives too.
Starting point is 00:23:27 I'm like, this is not, look at the rest of what I'm liking. This is not what I'm liking. Why are you showing this to me? Maybe you need to get on there a little bit more. I don't know. Maybe not. I feel like there was a season of life too,
Starting point is 00:23:36 where all it would show me was one of the island boys. It was every TikTok live. It was like an island boy on live with someone else. I was like, what have I done to deserve this? I only see island boys that's what i wish you could like go back like i wish i wish you could like review what you've watched and be like i actually didn't like that at all i didn't watch the end to the end of it so i know you think i had good retention but i didn't like it when it was over it said wait until the end and there was nothing at the end i don't want that one on my record said follow for part two i didn't and i didn't even look up part two so don't send me that please
Starting point is 00:24:08 it's just yeah just like dang it i don't want any more island boys but every time it's island boys i don't realize it until 30 seconds in you know anyway so there's uh there's that so there's i think everything i had to show you with uh your eyes okay i want now let's experience some ears let's give it let's give it a break. Hey, let's do Winds of the Week then. Oh, good call. I forget every single week. How is that possible?
Starting point is 00:24:32 How is that possible? It's a newer segment. Hey, hey, in the grand scheme of the podcast. This is still new. Yeah, it's new. And shout out to Haley Koontz for doing Winds of the Week on Facebook, by the way. Yeah, she's nice. That's fun. Those wins of the week on Facebook, by the way. Yeah. She's nice.
Starting point is 00:24:45 That's fun. Those are like dopamine hits for me is reading all those. So my win of the week is, well, it starts off with a, a poultry of the week, if you will. It feels like,
Starting point is 00:24:59 and maybe since you've flown 10 times more than me in the last couple of years, you experienced this more and you don in the last couple of years, um, you experienced this more and you don't have as strong of whatever, but I feel like every time I am flying somewhere, I check my gate and I feel like my gate is always the farthest one away from wherever I'm starting. It is kind of a thing. And I think about this all the time too. And right there, like, I think about that when I'm like, man, I haven't, I feel like I'm always parking so far away, but it's like, do you, I think you as humans, we are much more like inclined to remember the
Starting point is 00:25:28 things that are inconvenient rather than remember the times that are really convenient. Could be. It just, yeah. Yeah. Cause a hundred percent feels like every time I'm going. So anyway, I was in Kansas city, Southwest is tucked away. So, I mean, that's just, that's just going to happen. But even within the tucked away, I was like back corner of tucked away. Yeah. I'm like, what the heck guys? You do get to walk by the cool Amazon store if it's tucked all the way in the back though. That store where there's no employees, you just walk in and out. Yeah, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Yeah. But win of the week is on the way back from Denver, I was the very first, like the closest gate you could get to like the main area. That's nice. Yeah. So win of the week is that. What would you rather have? You get to the airport
Starting point is 00:26:05 and your gate is the closest one possible or on your layover, your connecting flight, your gate is the next one over. Probably layover. I think layover too. It's more of a surprise. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:16 You're like, ah, I don't know how much time am I going to be able to make this? I don't know where a C24 is going to be. You're like, I would see 23. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Awesome. I got time for a snack. I got auntie aunt. And double bone, double win of the week, slash kind of a little bit of a frustration, is that there were only like 50 people on my flight home last night, which is awesome because everyone gets their own row. But I upgraded on Southwest before I knew that.
Starting point is 00:26:37 So I lost $37 or whatever it is. I was A6, and I was like, oh, yeah. I'm going to get a great spot on this thing. And they're like, there's only 55 people on this flight. So everyone's going to get their own row. Please spread out or else we'll have weight distribution issues. Cool. And so, Oh, and I got triple wind. Um, the, uh, the flight attendant was trying to, you know, explain that. And so he's like, seats taken. He's like, I'll give anybody a free drink. If they know what movie that's from, I was like, Forrest Gump. Forrest, Forrest Gump. And then he
Starting point is 00:27:08 came up to me. He's like, I was, I was serious about that free drink. What do you want? And so I got a Jack and Coke and I was like, great. And then they accidentally brought me two. So I had win of the week. I was feeling it last night on the way home from Denver. I was ready to in the altitude Genesis one 28, but I got home and I had to drive home at one 45 in the morning. Wow. That's kind of fun. That's, that's not really on you. That's on Southwest to tell you like, are you sure you want to upgrade? This flight is only 30% full. They should do that. No, they shouldn't. Southwest is for the, they're the Chick-fil-A of the sky. They're for the people, you know, they should, your bags are flying free. Come on. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:43 that's fair. So anyway, that's my win slash frustrations. Yeah. My win of the week is probably just going to be that fantasy football is here. The guillotine league is here. Like it's just fun seeing new names, old names. Yeah. Like a lot of the last people got in again. So I didn't follow exactly what happened,
Starting point is 00:28:00 but we, we got the signups instantaneously. Basically I told Rachel that night she wanted to make me dinner. And I was like, just FYI, I need to be like on my phone from 645 to seven. I just need to make sure things are going correctly. Good communication and marriage right there. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:28:13 I think I, you know, hey, futuristic. I'm very good looking at it. I can do that. And so, but yeah, in three and a half minutes, 36 spots were full. Wow. So it kind of felt bad for the $10 patrons, the $5 patrons, and anyone else waiting on Facebook and Instagram.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Because it was full. Yeah. I mean, what can we do? We're not going to do five leagues. You can't do unlimited leagues. It's just going to have to be exclusive. And I'm sorry if you didn't make it. I do like there's like a survivor pool or something.
Starting point is 00:28:39 I'm going to enter in that. Oh, I saw someone post about that. Yeah. Yeah. I need to find that post again. Post again this week. No, it's going to be too late. No, it's not. No, it's not. Post it tonight.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's going to be great, though. I'm excited for it. I'm going to Branson this weekend to do my fantasy football draft with my friends. Fun. It'll be a fun time. Bonus win of the week is QP Goat Soap is back. Oh, baby, they're back back they went away for a little
Starting point is 00:29:07 bit i'll have you know something i never stopped using them i never stopped thinking about them it's like uh you ever seen the notebook i wrote you every day for a year i soaked with you every day even when you weren't sponsoring us i did enjoy it oh yeah so yeah it just it just feels different like it's very hard to go back to real or like not real, like old shampoo bottles. It's hard to go back to like a normal bar of soap or normal, like body wash. It doesn't feel the same. It's not as like sudsy and just you'll feel clean. Yeah. I don't know. You just, it's like, did I, does this work? It really is. It's like, it feels different. It works. Yeah. It's nice. It's a good gift to get it for somebody. I was, I was looking on their website
Starting point is 00:29:43 just today before we did this ad read. They have a fall season of soap, five bar collection. Let me read these five bars for you. You're going to watch. Make them rhymes, please, so that they're actual bars. Pumpkin spice ain't that nice. Bars. Cinnamon stick, get it quick.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Bars. Sandalwood shampoo. Can do. Can do. Bars. Cedarwood shampoo. Can do. Can do. Bars. Cedarwood up to no good. Bars. Tobacco Bay makes me say hey.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Bars. Seriously, though. Pumpkin spice, cinnamon stick, sandalwood shampoo, cedarwood, and tobacco bay. I don't even know what tobacco bay is, but I want it. I want a vacation there, and I want to use that soap when I'm there. Absolutely. I want to go to tobacco bay. I bet it's in South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:30:24 North Carolina. Okay. Maybe when I'm there. Absolutely. I want to go to Tobacco Bay. I bet it's in South Carolina. North Carolina. Okay. Maybe. Tar Heel. Yeah. I was on their website, and I saw, because they were saying like, yeah, this is great for gifts, and they were, the part of their website, it's about Sukkot. And they're like, hey, get your soap.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Is that even what the Jewish holiday was? Sukkot. Sukkot. I couldn't remember. Whatever holidays you celebrate. Yeah. You know, get the gift of beautiful goat soap. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:30:47 We love Gwen. It's wild. It's one of those things you don't think about your soap until you think about your soap. And then it's wild once you get it. It's like, I want this every time. Last week,
Starting point is 00:30:57 Tymon and I talked about how we haven't really made the big jump when it comes to underwear. We're still using the Walmart, the Target. But I think once we do, it's going to be hard to go back. That's you with soap. 100%! Just slightly upgraded with soap.
Starting point is 00:31:09 100%, brother. I can't do it again. I used to be such a proponent of hand soap from other companies. We use Kewpie Goat soaps in every single one of our bathrooms now for washing our hands. I mean, it's just... And you have how many bathrooms? We have two and a half.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Not bad. Not bad. The promo code is GRKC for 10% off. We really encourage you to check it out. QPGoatsoap.com. It's awesome. Awesome. What more can you say?
Starting point is 00:31:35 Cedarwood up to no good. Up to no good. Up to no good. Cedarwood's got a smell. Just next level. Cedarwood. It's the fall. Let's just keep talking about that.
Starting point is 00:31:45 I'm just kidding. Okay. Can we, can we listen or was you got anything else? Yeah. Let's get the ears involved. Okay. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Before we do this, have you watched the Florida documentary yet? Let's talk about it. Have you watched it? I've watched two episodes. Okay. So there's a Florida Gators, a college football documentary,
Starting point is 00:32:02 Swamp Kings, I think is what it's called. And I both love and hate Tim Tebow in it. I love- Yes. Thank you. Let's talk about this. I'm so glad you came to the conclusion too.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Yes. Okay. Like Tim Tebow is a role model for any Christian man. I think he's a great man. This is so good. I hope you noticed the same thing I noticed. Oh, dude. It's the way he talks.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Yes. Dude. This is so good, dude. It's like he's a bad actor or something. You're like, so, so, I mean, it's all about like, they just chronicling this amazing run in college football that the Florida Gators had where Tim Tebow was the main quarterback, just absolute legend of a college football player. Uh, so he's getting interviewed in this thing and it's like, it's like he won it. I don't know. We just have to reenact it almost.
Starting point is 00:32:44 So what I told Rachel, cause she was like, how, how is it? Should I watch it? And I was like, It's like he won it. I don't know. It reenacted almost. So what I told Rachel, because she was like, how is it? Should I watch it? And I was like, I've only watched two episodes and I can share my other thoughts later. But I was like,
Starting point is 00:32:51 but Tim Tebow, I was like, I haven't seen anyone online saying this. This is just my own observation watching it by myself, which makes me feel so much more validated. You notice it too. I was like,
Starting point is 00:32:59 you could tell that Tim Tebow speaks professionally and does a lot of public speaking because he is like trying way too hard to be, to have the perfect soundbite for a documentary. There was some scenes where he's legit whispering. He's like, and the thing was, I knew I had more in me. I knew, I knew I had more in me. We were in the fourth quarter and I knew I had more in me. I had more to give. So what I did, I looked in here, and I said, I'm not done with this team.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Not today. Not today, Gators. I said, Coach, you're going to get the best you've ever seen. You've never seen a player like me. Out of me. He pauses like he is doing public speaking, which is good for a documentary. Yes, if you do it once. He did it for every single one of me. Like he pauses like he is doing public speaking, which is good for a documentary. Yes. If you do it once. He did it for every single one of his. It's like if you're a public
Starting point is 00:33:50 speaker and there's like a, whatever, a lean in moment where it's like, hey, hey, like, let me tell you this. You are loved. You are valued. But it's like every single one of his things, he's just like, and I knew we were not going to lose that football game. It's like, just say that one normal. Yeah. You know? Oh, crushed him. Beat him by 45.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Crushed him. And it's just like every single one of them. It's like, Tim, you're not reciting a love letter to your wife. It just feels like he's not talking normally. That's what makes a good documentary. I feel like people just being themselves. It's like, I'll tell you what happened. This guy rolled up, you know, whatever. It's like, okay, cool. We're getting a glimpse. And it's like all the other guys, you know, they're talking
Starting point is 00:34:30 normally. Brandon Seiler, he's awesome. But it's like, Tim is just like, just give us the real you just talk normally. He's talking so slow. A hundred percent. And so, yeah, I love that you noticed that. Yeah. I just wrote down Tim Tebow floor documentary is annoying. Like, but at the same time, he's a great guy and I love him. I do love Tim Tebow floor documentary is annoying. Like, but at the same time, I, he's a great guy and I love, I do love Tim Tebow. And like, I think everything they talked about with Tebow was like, I love that.
Starting point is 00:34:50 I love that. Like, you know, he's like, he's either got his playbook or his Bible. That's all he's ever read. Like, he does seem like just the ultimate teammate.
Starting point is 00:34:56 What a fun, what an amazing person to have on your team. Right. Or like this guy works harder than any of us. And he's the best. Yes. What a win win. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:03 And he's a good leader. But so I was telling Rachel and I was, so I golfed with Luke on us and he's the best yes what a win-win yeah and he's a good leader but so i was telling rachel and i was so i golfed with luke on tuesday and he was like i think bailey and i are gonna watch that he's like what do you think of it and i was like i'm two episodes in i was like i don't know i feel like it's okay i was like it's a good amount of it was like yeah we had this new coach coming into the sec and he worked us really hard which feels like i would imagine every sec football coach like i don't know that wasn't a surprise to me that you had to work hard and that he wanted to prove his, you know, I was like, I don't know. I was like, and also you have this team with Tim Tebow on it and Aaron Hernandez and all these criminals. It's like a team full of felons on it with Tim Tebow. I would
Starting point is 00:35:37 love to see the dynamic of what that was like. And two episodes in, they have not talked about it once. Yeah. That's what I wanted. Percy Harvin, like their star wide receiver receiver like i think punched a coach at one point they don't talk about that at all like there's just like they're it's it still felt like hey this is a media piece that urban meyer's got to you know sign off on and he's not gonna like aaron hernandez yeah they like barely talk about him and like he's very scandalous uh it just didn't like grip me enough there's not enough adversity or like storylines to it it's kind of like man sec football is tough and we went through some tough times because there were some good teams yeah it's like yeah i mean it's still pretty fun to watch because it's a documentary about sports but it was not like dude that's the greatest documentary of everything but i love the
Starting point is 00:36:17 uh like when they were showing all those workouts that pumped me up it was cool like tim tebow like painted his face and everything and like had a bandana or whatever. There's this dude, black dude, like, yeah, man, we had to work out every night from 12 to 2. It was terrible. And then you go over to Tim Tebow, and Tim Tebow just is like, those workouts were awesome. Those were some of the greatest nights.
Starting point is 00:36:39 He's like, I want to be at the club. And Tim Tebow's like, those workouts were amazing. Which is such a funny, like difference. One other funny thing. So I'm telling Luke this as we're golfing and you know, I'm like, I,
Starting point is 00:36:51 it might still be worth watching. I know Bailey loves college sports. She might really like it still. I was like, and I might still finish it. I don't know. I'm on the fence. It's not terrible,
Starting point is 00:36:58 but it's not great. And then at the turn, so after nine holes, uh, one of Luke's friends who works at the golf course joins us. And just unprovoked, just out of nowhere, we're in the fairway, I just ran away. And he goes, Luke, you know what I've been meaning to tell you?
Starting point is 00:37:14 Swamp Kings is the best documentary I've ever seen. You have to watch it. And I was like, yes. Best documentaries ever seen. This puts me in a little bit of an awkward spot. So I was like, ah, I was just telling Luke that I didn't care for it. Luke, it's okay. You can watch it, Luke.
Starting point is 00:37:31 It's okay. It was a solid B. Like it's good in my opinion, but it was not, it was not my top five documentaries. I think the content they to work with is good. Do you know, do you know about the Bishop Sycamore scandal? Oh yeah. That was crazy. I would love to see a documentary on that. There's a documentary on that. And apparently my friends who didn't love the Florida documentary was like the Bishop Sycamore documentary was everything that I was hoping the Florida documentary. We're talking. So I don't know what, what platform it's on. For those who don't know, not that I know much about it, but basically there was just a made up high school who was competing at a
Starting point is 00:37:59 really high level and just dominating all these other really good football teams. And then you found out they're like 24 years old, ex college athletes, a athletes just a wild a wild story so yeah kind of a daniel monte situation which if you don't know i'm just kidding yeah um all right that was florida swamp kings swamp kings yeah all right so ears let's get our ears involved on the way down to branson when rachel and i went a few weeks ago, Rachel, I think brought it up randomly. She's like, what did you and your mom listen to?
Starting point is 00:38:27 Like, what did you listen to back in the day? I was like, oh, let me show you. And so I'm going to show you guys as well. Brad, I'm sure you're familiar with some of these songs, but let's just listen to some just high school, middle school and high school Jake. With his mom in the car? Yeah, I think my mom also enjoyed this music.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Okay. Yeah, and my sister as well. Great. Yeah, that's a good one to start with it's so much harder than i remember rachel's like this is what i was like yeah my mom liked this why Yeah, my mom liked this. Why did... Dude. All right, you can pause it for now.
Starting point is 00:39:10 Yeah. So that was... I remember the chorus being so fun. Like, hold... I did not remember it being so like... Oh, yeah. Like almost like bad speakers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Like for the verse. Oh, it's like distorted. It's not clear. Yeah. 100%. Yeah, they were like hard rock rap kind of. Yeah. A little rappy.
Starting point is 00:39:27 I remember they had a keytar. Okay. That they would perform live with. Yeah. Because I obviously saw them live. They were a very popular live band. Like people love seeing them live. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:36 And so that was the first one I showed Rachel. I was like, oh, well, this one. I mean, I think everybody's mom loved this one. I was like, oh my God. Your mom is just being so sweet. I don't think she loved that song. She may not have loved this one. I was like, oh my God. Your mom is just being so sweet. I don't think she loved that song. She may not have loved that song. I think maybe she was just like, hey, my son wants to listen to this. It's better than Nelly.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Yeah. All right. He doesn't want him and him. All right. It's fun. So I was like, all right, that was the first five. A little harder. Let's try a little Toby Mac. Rachel's like, okay. A little Toby Mac. You remember this song? Oh man, this is the album i know the most added in my cd player pretty cool huh Maybe try to get to the chorus.
Starting point is 00:40:30 I don't know, 45 seconds or so. Alright, that's good. You and your mom just driving around her ford focus just like slaying them out to this like i remember i thought we all were on the same page like that's kind of fun they say whoopsie daisy in it and then i'm playing the song and it's like oh i forgot about that part for sure oh man and it just seems like this that verse is like the start of like like when rap first started i feel like it was like all right we're learning slacking off like a bum feeling ho-hum and it's like wow this was like 15 years later and they didn't get any better with christian rap it was like oh we're still i mean toby mack i feel like
Starting point is 00:41:13 if anything dc talk yeah was better than that like he had some good lyrics for dc talk yeah there's probably some good ones in there um let's look at one last one i put this song on and i was like what in the world like just listen to the lyrics try and just figure out what in the world is this song about and why is it on a christian album okay this was like the peak of Christian music. What does that mean? What does that mean? What is he talking about? If I miss with my missiles you're still gonna sizzle because i frizzle fry radiation style worldwide and then of course illamai illamai you're so
Starting point is 00:42:35 shallow you don't get that you don't get that i don't understand talk to me about the frizzle fry part frizzle fry radiation style worldwide frizzle fry part. Frizzle fry radiation style worldwide. Frizzle fry. What does that mean? It's like an event, annual event. We're doing the frizzle fry. Hey, come on. And then there's like, get the radiator going. The whole world's there. Hey, great frizzle fry this year. Rendell Weaver.
Starting point is 00:42:59 And also the chorus. So it's spelled I-L-L-M-I. Illumi, Illumi. Are those Roman numerals? Or is that the letters in Illuminati somewhat? But what does Illuminati have to do? Like, what is this song about? Illuminati, see, I don't think you're interpreting.
Starting point is 00:43:16 When did this come out? Oh, 2004. 2004. This was before the Illuminati was a thing. Illuminati to them, I bet, is just like, you're illuminating to the world. Good vibes. Yeah, you're a light to the world. I don't even know what it is. Illuminati to them, I bet, is just like you're illuminating to the world. Good vibes. Yeah, you're a light to the world.
Starting point is 00:43:27 I don't even know what it is. Illumi, Illumi. Toby Mac's Illumi song. Illuminati is the name of the guy that featured in this. Genuinely. Illuminati's coming through. Illumi is a Toby Mac song that makes little sense to the first time listener. Oh, that's me.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Shallow. After searching the web, you'll find there's very little information regarding the meaning of the lyrics. It's only about the Pharisees. About the Pharisees. That song's not
Starting point is 00:43:52 about the Pharisees. Yeah, what? And draws from Jesus' scathing remarks in Matthew 23 about people who act that they're righteous but actually hypocrites.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Oh, right. The frizzle fry. I get it. If you guys don't get it, just listen to it again. Honestly. It's confusing for first-time listeners. Yeah, that's on me.
Starting point is 00:44:10 So that was about the Pharisees and Matthew 23. Oh, he's kind of breaking down some lyrics. Oh, yes. Get to Frizzle Fry. This is great. Oh, yeah. This is on discover.hubpages.com. So just add some credibility here.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Because I frizzle fry radiation style worldwide. What does it mean? Toby is using a clever cultural reference to say in effect I'm evangelizing. Are you frizzle fried with that guy at work yet? Have you done the bridge yet? Have you gotten more frizzle
Starting point is 00:44:42 or more fry? Which side is he on? He's using this analogy to say that he is a fisher of men oh frizzle fry as in like frying fish maybe yeah fisher fish fry stretch i mean frizzle fry i love it he just i mean i knew it i wrote all these lyrics then figured out what they meant i mean even the next we didn't get to this part of the song but the next lyric is you got your pipe okay you got this could be a prescription like if you're like in a hood like doctor's office he comes in he could tell you this right here oh yeah you got your pipeline clogged man i can't even say it you say it you say it like you're a mechanic. Oh, yeah. You know what you got?
Starting point is 00:45:27 You got your pipeline clogged, man. You got to get that puppy routed. That's the lyric of the song. And what does it mean, Tymon? What does the article say it means? You are missing the point. You don't have a real relationship with Jesus. You got your pipeline clogged, man.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Get that puppy routed. Get that puppy routed. You're missing the point dude your pipeline pipeline isn't that like a process like pipe would make sense your pipe is clogged your pipeline
Starting point is 00:45:54 I feel like is more of a it's like a network you're missing the point you're not going to the lord with your problems you're clogged your spiritual pipeline is clogged. You're not getting down to the roots. Your spiritual pipeline is clogged. Get that puppy routed.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Hey, I'd route that thing. Anybody know a good pipeline router? Who says that? Oh, it's funny, man. Toby Mac is very eclectic, very goofy, or original. Artistic, I guess is what you call him. Artistic. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Okay. This one, I have some what you call them. Artistic. Yeah. Okay. This one, uh, you have some more lyrics. This one right here. This lyric says, then I do, sir. Producer hit me with the juice. Translation. God, give me the Holy spirit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:37 Yeah. Yeah. That one. I mean, I would die with the juice. That's what I pray every day. Uh, Brad, do you want to pray for the male? That would be great. Like Gen Z prayers, and it's not really Gen Z prayers.
Starting point is 00:46:49 It's just Toby McNerick. It's just a LMI song. Hey, yo, producer, hit me with the juice. And if anyone here has got their pipeline clogged, God, I pray you would get that puppy routed. Puppy routed. Much obliged. You got the head of a moose. so mount me on the wall of your living room
Starting point is 00:47:08 which means humble me use me as an example sure to bring the oh you're wild well i've never heard those songs that's fun yeah i mean that was i remember it said diverse city i remember that song it was kind of like almost like a funky. Diverse City. Same thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Man, that's fun. So. Good. That's a good time.
Starting point is 00:47:32 You want to play? Can I do a few fun songs that I loved growing up? Christian songs? This is what I was saying. I was saying to Brad off the podcast before we did this. I was like, I'm going to play some songs. We react to them. I was like, but also while I was listening to this with Rachel,
Starting point is 00:47:44 I was like, this could be a future YouTube series of like, if we pivot to like being more of Christian thing, like just looking at old, all of them will be copyright strike. So we make no money, but we could easily do this and find a niche within that. I think I, I would,
Starting point is 00:47:56 I'm going to, I'm about to show you a song and I don't know if you've ever heard it, but I would say it might be the most fun song I've ever heard in my entire life. Don't tell Kate, uh, five tweezy by KJ five, two better. Do you know that song? But I would say it might be the most fun song I've ever heard in my entire life. Don't tell me. Five Tweezy by KJ52. Better.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Do you know that song? Dude, we could look at so many songs from our childhood. I'm just thinking about the, well, whatever. All right, let's listen to your song. My range is a little bit different than yours because I think my sister showed me things. And so look up Worldwide Message Tribe. Okay, this didn't make it to Stratford. This must not have been on a WoW CD. Jump in the House of God.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Just wait. Don't play it yet. Just know that the very first two seconds of it are going to get you pumped already. Are you ready? Okay, here we go. Jump in the House of God. Jump in the House.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Jump in the House of God. Jump in the House of God. Turn it up, Tybee. Jump in the House. Jump in the House of God. Jump in the House of God. Jump in the House. Jump in the House of God. Oh, it's so good. Wait, wait. And then let's go. Let's go a little bit farther down.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Yeah, just keep it going. Keep it going. It gets really. Yeah, it's got it's got like a little bit farther down. Just keep it going. Keep it going. It gets really... Yeah, it's got like a... That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:10 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:11 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:12 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:12 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:12 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:12 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:13 That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. That's awesome. in the air. Raise them up, up in prayer. Getting busy. Getting busy. Who's in the house?
Starting point is 00:49:29 God's in the house. Oh, God, dude. Oh, God's in the house. I really like that. So it's, was it getting busy? Getting busy. Getting busy. Who's in the house?
Starting point is 00:49:44 God's in the house. That's a good song. It's a great song dude. That's that's fun and I was listening to this song when I was nine years old. I you were getting busy too. I'm sure busy getting busy busy. We should absolutely do a series added to his playlist. I want that to come on like some rent like after just like this really like emotional and sad song suddenly it just like this comes on and I'm just like oh he's got done with Adele turning tables and jumping in the house jumping in yeah yeah yeah I mean there's so many good ones uh I don't know even I mean yeah you're right we could go for what about just one more the W's you you'll you I think you'll apostropherophe S, Tymon, please.
Starting point is 00:50:26 The devil is bad. Do you know this song? The devil is bad. Another great intro. Also, Tymon, I feel like your, your audio quality on this, are you using like a free Spotify?
Starting point is 00:50:34 Yeah, we have, we have lost the streaming here or what? I don't know. It might, it might have to do with the, the like actual equipment that I'm, okay,
Starting point is 00:50:41 okay, okay. I don't know. Just know it's even better on your own. Just... If the roadcaster wasn't involved. I tried turning off processing. Hopefully, I mean,
Starting point is 00:50:50 I don't know what it was doing. Oh, okay, okay. We'll see what happens. Nope, I now see just one ear. Pretty fired up. Getting busy so far with this song. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Quick turn processing back on.
Starting point is 00:51:00 It was just in one ear. Tommy, you start over again if you're going to pause it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Hey, hey, hey. Of course, of course. Of course. Of course. Charming my snake over here.
Starting point is 00:51:14 Sounds good. Kind of turned to Latin all of a sudden. It's. Scott. Scott. It's a fun song. Oh, this isn't even the real... I don't know. Oh, this isn't even the real one.
Starting point is 00:51:44 That's on them. I feel like that's... Should I just search the W as the devil is bad? Yeah. It might be off the... Off the grid. Because it's like, there's like a verse like, you were walking in the garden one day...
Starting point is 00:51:56 And then, yeah, by the end of like the chorus, it's just, you are the devil and the devil is bad. You are the devil and the devil is bad. You are the devil and the devil is bad. You are the and the devil is bad you are the devil and the devil is bad you are the devil and you are bad it's so fun dude that's awesome anyway i could i could go on forever that's so fun but you got one more you got any more uh um yeah let's listen to that i think it'll be in the same vein as the toby mac on look up kj52 i think he had a song called five tweezy yeah or something like that i the only one i remember from him is like nice to meet you is kj52 oh there it is it actually is called five tweezy yeah
Starting point is 00:52:36 this is gonna be bad this guy was known for being eminem but uh christian before nf and i feel like he would like in his songs bring it up like, I used to know Eminem and now he won't call me back. He would just openly be like, he's kind of moved on from me. From what I remember. I mean, it's very Eminem inspired already.
Starting point is 00:53:01 It's my Twizzle It's my Twizzle That's not bad Keep going Yeah, no, that's fine The chorus is kind of cringy because he's saying
Starting point is 00:53:23 tweezy in it but yeah it's not too bad I mean I like the age we grew up in I don't care wait scroll back
Starting point is 00:53:30 scroll back up again I want to see something this might have been the song I was talking about oh yeah now everybody hates me I thought we were friends Carson Daly
Starting point is 00:53:36 like he'll just like I feel like he'll just openly like airing dirty laundry just like hey man oh I got dissed on MTV for Deer Slim
Starting point is 00:53:44 bummer it's okay it's alright KJ I wonder what he's up to now Just like, hey, man. Oh, I got dissed on MTV for Deer Slim. Bummer. It's okay. It's all right, KJ. I'm going to read this up to you now. Let's get him on the pod. Five Tweezy? Yeah, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:53:53 I'm talking about Five Tweezy. Yeah. You have any more? Oh, no. I mean, yes, but we can be done before. Let's go from this into the schmores. Is that a good idea? Okay, great. That's kind of apropos.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Apropos. Well, maybe. Yeah. Look, if you, let me put it this way. Okay. There are some people out there who your pipeline, talking about it in here, your throat. Yep.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Your esophageal complex. Your throttle pipeline is clogged. You got to get that puppy routed. You're going to need some main street roasters to soften it up. All right. Kind of start the combustion process, erode what's going on in there. Rachel's home. Whoa, Rachel's home at 1249?
Starting point is 00:54:40 Just real quick. Ah, just real quick. Just real quick. Just real quick. Okay. Hi, Rachel. Hi, welcome back, Brad. Thank you. She said quick. Hi, Rachel. Hi, welcome back, Brad. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:54:47 She said, welcome back, Brad. I said, thank you. Rachel. I'm sorry I didn't vote for you. Sorry I didn't vote for you. What happened? I think... I think in the moment
Starting point is 00:55:05 I was like trying to stand up for you no they're fine pigs and then I went back and looked through them yeah so I was charming I was charming in the moment
Starting point is 00:55:12 you were you sure were and then I think maybe the Lori Lightfoot comment I think in the moment Rachel liked water and time with her about water
Starting point is 00:55:20 like that's good she was thirsty at that moment she needed a drink and she was like fun i'm sorry it's okay it's okay good to see you she's i looked in thank you i got sunburned but thanks it'll turn tan i'm sure colorado pickle yeah yeah you know just do my thing thank you it's very kind yep
Starting point is 00:55:43 all right uh what are we talking about s'mores or you but you're gonna say oh no your throat pipeline yes how do how do i get that puppy routed yeah so i'm on i'm looking at matriarch.com right now and there's a tab and it says like home info shop and it says puppy routing and if you go on puppy routing it'll it kind of breaks it down and basically they're this great coffee shop. They do wholesale. They do private labeling. They'll ship it to your door.
Starting point is 00:56:10 It's a great gift. Get your beans. Get your grounds. Probably made in large batches though, right? Excuse me? Probably made in large batches, so it's not as high quality. Well, the thing is, Brad,
Starting point is 00:56:20 it's top notch. You know, whatever I'm supposed to say here. About that, Brad, I'm on the puppy routing tab, so I don't know about the batches. I'm on pipeline duty. That's right.
Starting point is 00:56:38 Yes, MainTreeRoster.com. GRKC for 10% off. Yeah, just support them. They're great. Randall Weaver. It'll Randall's your Weavers yeah morning lunch and dinner so yeah check them out they're great you guys know them you love them it's time to support them keep supporting them or yeah start uh just recently on the colorado trip genuinely i've been starting to do the oh rachel's thing like but but not no not like not like sarcastically you've just been laughing that way i've been i've been starting to do the... Oh, Rachel's thing? But no, not like sarcastically.
Starting point is 00:57:06 You've just been laughing that way? I've been trying not to laugh and laughing a little bit, and that's what I've been doing for it. Interesting. There's been a few times where it's like, TJ will make a comment, and it's like, oh, I shouldn't be laughing at that, and I'll laugh that way. I kind of just did it right then.
Starting point is 00:57:22 I see what you're saying. You're closing your mouth. Yeah, I guess so. It feels pretty good, I'll be honest. It kind of tickles your lips. So. Do it right then. I see what you're saying. You're closing your mouth. Yeah, I guess so. It feels pretty good. I'll be honest. It kind of tickles your lips. So. You do it right?
Starting point is 00:57:29 Anyway. All right, a little s'mores to end the episode. Yep. S'mores is going to be instruments. I won. Rachel is. I can barely. There's a little sliver I can see in the living room,
Starting point is 00:57:39 and Rachel is pantomiming an instrument that she would like me to choose. Oh. That's funny. And she's gone now. All right. I won last week. I'm going to go. I won last week with the iPhone features.
Starting point is 00:57:51 Although I think the Mr. Congeniality was Timon's like screenshot circle and hold it down for the perfect circle. I feel like people loved that feature. People were talking about it. They were chatting. Yeah. It wasn't enough to get the popular vote.
Starting point is 00:58:05 But order this week. I'm going to go time and Brad me. Mmm, fun. I feel like there's like three good picks. So as long as you're in the first round, you're going to get a good pick. Oh, interesting. I wonder what the third one is.
Starting point is 00:58:17 I feel like I can think of two great ones. I have, yeah. Just a Kobe and a Shaq, and then you got a bunch of Rick Foxes. I'll be Robert Horry then, I guess. Clutch. Yeah, I have, yeah, I have just a Kobe and a Shaq and then you got a bunch of Rick Foxes. I'll be Robert Horry then I guess. Clutch. Yeah. I just, just instrument.
Starting point is 00:58:29 First thing, pass him ahead. Piano. Okay. Thank you, Tyvin. That was Kobe. Yeah. Piano. What do you, what do you, anything to expand?
Starting point is 00:58:36 I don't know. I feel like it's just the basis of so many things. I should have went first. Dang it. Piano is really good. I mean, it was like keyboard too. Piano is really good. I mean, there's a keyboard too. Piano is just everything. So many things are just based around a piano.
Starting point is 00:58:48 It's trans... Musically. Yeah. Go ahead. Sorry. No. No, I think it's just like, yeah, transformed. Like you can...
Starting point is 00:58:55 So many different types of music on piano. Yes. Mine is going to... My first one is going to be guitar. In my opinion, the greatest instrument. That's Shaq. That's the Shaq um both electric and acoustic i just think it's it's a little more portable obviously than the piano they have keyboard pianos or whatever but like guitar i don't know i just all my favorite music
Starting point is 00:59:17 is guitar like sometimes coldplay is good like when they have a piano part but like you still need the guitars in there so um i don't know how much I need to say about guitars besides just I really love them. And I love playing, so I'm glad that I got that pick. I can't wait to hear what the third of the top three is. I'm also curious. What am I thinking? I definitely should have gone
Starting point is 00:59:38 first or second. I don't know what you were doing either. Don't say it out loud, but just say if we got it right on our third pick. Our guess for Jake's third pick. Wait, Jake's pick. Once I say it, then you will guys will just confirm it.
Starting point is 00:59:51 Oh yeah. I have, I have one in mind that would be, then mine might be weird. Like my immediate third thing. I think third is drums. Yes. That's mine. I feel like it makes up just like any just solid band.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Yes. That's fair. You know? Yeah. I would even say drums come before the piano in most bands i'd rather if i'm playing guitar i'd rather have drums with me like a cajon or some kind of drums who doesn't love just good percuss do we get do we get all you get all drums or do we need to have like a specific drum i really wanted to get drums as a pick because that's
Starting point is 01:00:21 covers so much but uh i think is that still out there okay it's his own instrument so are you thinking of a drum kit yes okay okay yeah not just like i choose the snare yeah yeah like a drum like a five piece yeah cymbals bass we're like getting the hi-hat that's my first i want a hi-hat on the left side. All right. Yeah. Next. Yeah. It's just drum kit. Yeah. I think it's just, it's nice. A hundred percent. It adds really like a worship with a drum to it. Sure.
Starting point is 01:00:49 You know, maybe the guitar goes out for the bridge and it's just like, oh, I'm a big quarter note, quarter note on the kick. That is like my favorite thing about any. Oh, what the frick is going on behind me? Every time I barely move, you guys sabotage me? Every time I barely move. You guys sabotage me back there. I barely move. Jumping in the house.
Starting point is 01:01:10 Jumping in the house. Happy day. Three things fall off the shelf. Oh, yeah. What the frick is going on behind me? Oh, what I did. Yeah. I would do.
Starting point is 01:01:19 You remember Sing, Sing, Sing by Chris Tomlin? Yeah. Yeah. I was a big, hey, cut out here, eighth notes, eighth notes on the kick drum. We will sing, sing, sing and make music with the heavens.
Starting point is 01:01:33 And then it's like, and we all come back in. We will sing, sing. Yes. Classic. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay, good pick, I guess.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Yeah, drums are good. Here's where it falls off a little bit, though. Like, this is the second tier. Yeah, of pick, I guess. Yeah. Drums are good. Here's where it falls off a little bit, though. This is the second tier. Yeah, of course. Instruments. I'm going to go violin. Fun. I think it's the top of what's left. I love a good violin, both acoustic and electric. I think that's nice. A little electric violin. It sounds pretty cool. A little, what's it?
Starting point is 01:02:01 Skillet? Not Mannheim steamroller. What's the other Christmas? Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Oh, yeah. They get after it. Yeah, it's awesome. I think violin is a good one, too. You see a viral video of someone street performing, and it's a violin. For some reason, I stop and watch that.
Starting point is 01:02:17 I'm like, oh, because I feel like it's dynamic. You see a street performer with a trumpet. You're like, yeah, you got three buttons here. There's only so much you can do with a street performing trumpeteer. But a violin, it's like you can really get after it. And violin has two different names. You can play it in a folky way and call it a fiddle. Yeah, fiddle's nice.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Fiddle, I think I get more excited about the fiddle than anything. A violin has strings and a fiddle has strings. Oh, I thought you were about to actually enlighten us right there. Strings. Strings. Strings. All right, back to Brad. Fun. This is where I'm trying to play chess a little bit,
Starting point is 01:02:52 not just checkers, in the sense of I've got to figure out what Tymon's going to pick. Would you like to choose a chess piece? Rook. All right, my next pick is going to be... I'm going to say, I'm going to say the trumpet next.
Starting point is 01:03:08 I grew up. These are, these are Brad's instruments. I love the trumpet. I think it's great for taps. It's great for tap. That's actually a bugle most of the time or a cornet. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:03:20 A what? I've never heard of that. Cornet. Cornet. Don't know what that is. Well, I guess you guys don't have STEM on your TikTok. Don't say anything.
Starting point is 01:03:33 It's just like a trumpet without valves, I think. But that's what a bugle is. You're right. Maybe a cornet's a bigger trumpet. How about you just look it up? Because that's your job. Golly, Tymon. But any...
Starting point is 01:03:46 Hey, we don't have a camera on you, so you can be busy looking it up. Golly! What are you paying this kid for? No, but like any marching band, any band at a basketball game, you know, college, like the noise that you're really hearing is the trumpet.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Everything else is just sounding good next to the trumpet. If you didn't have the trumpet in there, everybody would be bummed. Cornet, it's got a... Is it bigger, though, than a trumpet? It's got buttons to it. It's got valves, yeah. Valvies?
Starting point is 01:04:13 Yeah, it's got three of them. It looks like a trumpet. But it's bigger. I don't know. All right, let me keep looking it up. I don't know why Tymon hasn't looked it up yet, by the way. That's my pick, his trumpet. And just think of Louis Armstrong. Think about the way. That's my pick, is trumpet. And just like, think of Louis Armstrong.
Starting point is 01:04:26 Think about the first episode where we introduced Rosie, and we played La Vie en Rose, and we had that beautiful little trumpet solo. It's just nice. It looks like it's very similar to the trumpet. The cornet is usually in B-flat and is the same size as the B-flat trumpet. That's right.
Starting point is 01:04:43 It has a less brilliant tone, but greater agility. I like seeing the shuttle run. The cornet is easier to play for beginners. Okay. It's more compact than the trumpet. Interesting. Yeah, I've never heard of that before. Yeah, it is. It's a tiny little guy.
Starting point is 01:04:59 Like, yeah, the difference in size. It's bigger than the others, right? Looked up in about 15 seconds. Jeez. All right. Time in two picks all right um i'm gonna go with voice nice oh i didn't think on my list absolutely an instrument oh yeah because people always are like i have to rest my instrument yeah yeah um and then bass bass guitar i had bass i had it like kind of in the middle and i was like no i need to know where i keep bass and i put bass i had it like kind of in the middle and i was like no i need to know where i keep bass and i put bass at the very bottom or does it have to be you know that's kind of where it goes yeah which i mean bass in general i guess just like the bass because it can be like in a digital thing it's not like a bass guitar it's just like that's on instrument what
Starting point is 01:05:40 so we're going clefs now yeah i'm gonna say going to say. I choose, let's see, I'm going to go just falsetto in general. I'm just going to go high-pitched noises. I was just thinking. I'm going to choose a range of frequency. I'm not thinking the range of frequency. I'm just thinking if you're in a digital software, it might not be a bass guitar, but it's just the bass notes. There's a different instrument that you use for digital software,
Starting point is 01:06:03 and it's on my list. Give me some of your favorite bass lines in a song. Oh, another one, Bites of Dust. That's it. End of my list. Any time? I don't know. None that come to mind. Ready? Here it comes.
Starting point is 01:06:19 On the seventh fret, ready? I thought I was hearing this song at a Starbucks last week with Brad. I was like, do you hear Seven Nation Army? Do you think Seven Nation Army is like remixed by Corinne Bailey Ray here or something? Yeah, I was like, it sounds like it. What about? That's a good word. Come together. Beatles.
Starting point is 01:06:41 Beats. Nice. I remember as a kid, when there was a church, youth group, Hawk Nelson concert, and I remember just staring at the bassist and being like, what noise are you making? Because I don't know anything about music. I think that's a hard thing to
Starting point is 01:06:56 know. But I just couldn't hear. I was like, it sounds like everything is going just fine, and I don't know if we need you. I just couldn't hear. That's why I was hesitant to make this a pick, because people don't realize. Oh, you think people are stupid. Time to guess people are stupid. Because the voters may not be as smart as me. No, I'm just like.
Starting point is 01:07:10 It's real, dude. Because you don't hear the bass. Yeah. I mean, if there's like a bass line specifically, then you do. Yeah, if you're doing a solo. I was in middle school for whatever reason. Some people in my youth group decided we were going to do
Starting point is 01:07:26 like a lip-synced version of Snow Patrol's song Run. And I was supposed to be playing the bass. And they're like, so you'll come in when the bass comes in. And I had no idea when that was. So, I mean, it takes a while, I think. But then once you realize it, it's like, whoa, that's a good bass line. I mean, it's just like if a hip-hop song starts out and it's like all just like the beginning,
Starting point is 01:07:44 then it drops, then the bass comes in. It's not like a different... You're not really hearing a different instrument, but it's just so much richer. Deeper frequencies. Yeah. Dang, the more I talk about it, the more the bass is just so crucial. It's so important.
Starting point is 01:07:56 Listen to the song, Dance to the Music. Are we already getting copyright strike? Can we just... Well, I guess maybe that was one section. Yeah, that might be a tone. Because there's a part in that song where they all do their own little... It's like, I'm going to add a little guitar. And then they do like...
Starting point is 01:08:08 The bass guy goes, I'm going to add some bottom so that the dancers just won't hide. And then he does a little bass line. Check it out. It's pretty fun. Check it out. I'm very happy with the picks I have so far. If you have a good bass player, people dance. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:24 Do you pick two? Yeah, voice and bass. Yeah, voice and bass yeah voice and bass um okay my next one i'm gonna keep it in the just uh accent instrument category along with trumpets don't if you add saxophone no i wanted it to be there i know so good i wanted it to be there if you add saxophone into any song i'm gonna lose now if i had saxophone i win this i think look up the song plazia that's my that's my saxophone into any song. I'm going to lose now. If I had saxophone, I win this. I think look up the song. Plazia. That's my, that's my saxophone. Oh yeah. It is so fun. If it's a song I'm thinking of me and my sister really enjoyed dancing to it. I think I talked about it on the podcast three years ago, like basement days back in the day. And, uh, I want to play two seconds
Starting point is 01:09:00 of it just for myself. You keep talking. It was on, no, maybe it wasn't on the Grande Boo intro playlist, but it is a fun song. Oh, yeah. Yeah? Oh, yeah. Fun song. If you saw it on there, you think it would get... I'll just do it for a few seconds. Oh, yeah. Fun little dancey song.
Starting point is 01:09:24 Saxophone's good. That song, and then I'm just going to keep giving out recommendations for songs, or go to YouTube Oh yeah. Fun little dancey song. Saxophone's good. That's a good one. That song, and then I'm just going to keep giving out recommendations for songs. Or go to YouTube and look up Dub FX Flow. F-L-O-W. It's this guy that does beatboxing on a loop.
Starting point is 01:09:36 He loops it, but then he gets this guy named Mr. Woodstock, I think. Mr. Woodstock's on the saxophone. It's just like this really cool like eight minute long cool song. Two Friends, which is the name of a DJ group, I've filmed for them. They're the ones, their big booty mixes are pretty popular.
Starting point is 01:09:54 But yeah, so I filmed a gig for them one time and I learned they, every show, they will just hire a local saxist. Saxophonist? Saxophonist. I wasn't even trying to be funny. I was like, that might be what it is. Local saxist. That's probably not. Saxophonist? I wasn't even trying to be funny. I was like, that might be what it is. Local saxist.
Starting point is 01:10:08 That's funny. Registered saxist. Anglo-Saxon. To be a part of it. They were playing electronic music. I mean, there's no instruments. Honestly, it's probably pre-recorded, but it was still fun. Certain music, they would just have this guy learn certain things and just be up there on the stage just crushing the sax. It was awesome.
Starting point is 01:10:24 It was fun having a live sax. Absolutely's awesome i really liked it dang i really thought i was gonna get that pick i don't know what i'm gonna choose i was worried time was gonna take it um okay what's left let's go um all right random pick didgeridoo whoa i don't even know what that is that thing's fun i don't know what it sounds like, but I know kind of what it is. I've heard of it, but I don't know. I'd say one of the more unique instruments that does exist, and I like the sound of it.
Starting point is 01:10:53 How am I going to play this? How do I spell this? Oh, yeah. You're nailing it so far. Didgeridoo is a wind instrument played with vibrating lips to produce a continuous drone while using a special breathing technique
Starting point is 01:11:02 called circular breathing. Oh, it's huge too. Yeah. Like goes to the floor from your face. Ah, 15 second unskippable ad. Oh my gosh. That is sad. How did we get it on that?
Starting point is 01:11:14 Like that YouTube premiere preferred didgeridoo thing. That thing is, I mean, four and a half, five feet long. Wow. It looks like it's like something kind of aboriginal yeah very uh australian all right go for it all right i kind of like it go off fast forward a little bit see how it fit oh i heard that little frog in there cool very that fizzle fry in there very sergeant peppers beetles like uh the song within you without you that kind of has that sound at the beginning interesting fun anyway yeah i'll go didgeridoo it's just fine i feel like it's one of the more unique ones yeah um and next uh i'm trying to decide whether i want to please my dad or please rachel because they're each going to have one they want me to choose right now i'm going to please my dad smart i'm going to go harmonica oh good i would dare to say
Starting point is 01:12:20 somewhat raised on the harmonica my dad i mean define raised on the harmonica. My dad, I mean... Define raised on the harmonica. I would eat on it. No. I feel like my dad just had one around. I think it was the only instrument he could play. Seriously? I think he somewhat knows his way around a harmonica. That's pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:12:34 And he loved Southern Gospel. I think they were no stranger to the harmach. Yeah. And anyway, so he would just like always play it. And when I was three years old, I loved it. Yeah. I remember he would always do the train song and I loved the train song. What train?
Starting point is 01:12:48 I don't know. I don't even know if that's what it's called. Train the band or train like. Sorry. There was a song like that you could do on the harmonica. That's like the train song where, you know, you make it sound like you are like the engine,
Starting point is 01:12:57 like coming down the tracks. That's fine. And when you're a kid, it's fire. Yeah. I kind of want to learn that for my kids now, whatever that is. Maybe Steve can give us a tutorial. That be great blues traveler you ever listen to them
Starting point is 01:13:08 they're like oh yeah that's a harmonica guy see if that is a real song that is a strange song harmonica comes up anyway dang this is where it gets tough um okay i kind of alluded to it earlier when time was like well when you're making stuff digitally you can use a bass thing blah blah blah and uh my last instrument is going to be the synthesizer. Okay. Uh, like a, it's like a, you know,
Starting point is 01:13:28 a pad synthesizer. I'd argue it's different than like a digital bass, but yeah. So how do you make a digital bass song? I just feel like, what do you, what, what instrument do you use?
Starting point is 01:13:38 Just curious. If I'm like in garage band or like pro tools or like, like, uh, what's, what's, what's, what's surfaces using for their bass
Starting point is 01:13:45 probably like i mean i don't know like an 808 like sound thing 808 is a drum beat 808 is like when people were trying to make a digital bass but they accidentally made it like way too intense oh and now it's like a thing though it's like kind of well the answer is synthesizer i don't care what you say. Good pick, good pick. I don't know. I like that. I just, I feel like the synthesizer, as far as songs go these days,
Starting point is 01:14:10 almost every song has a synthesizer in it or some sort of digital thing, which in my, I guess in my head, they're one the same. Maybe they're not. Yeah, synthesizer is so, yeah, yeah. I know that's a great pick because it's so diverse.
Starting point is 01:14:21 I like Daryl. Anything digital melody or like, it's all like, it can sound so melody or like it's all like it can sound so different, but it's all like digital synth. I mean, yeah. Hillsong has made millions of dollars with the synthesizer. That's hard to tax free. Good for them.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Jump in the house of God. I like in the office when Daryl's like, y'all hang tight, ladies. I'm going to grab my synthesizer. Doesn't he say that? I don't know if he says synthesizer. I feel like that was the first time I heard that word was the office when daryl's like y'all hang tight ladies i'm gonna grab my synthesizer doesn't he say that i don't know if he says synthesizer i feel like that was the first time i heard that word was the office maybe so but i could be mistaken i like it if it is because that's uh helps my point because daryl's cool all right time and you got one more i'm i'm very torn uh i'm gonna go cello oh love, it's like a violin,
Starting point is 01:15:05 but big and deeper. And it's like got such a rich. Cello, you got a bass. Such a rich sound. I don't know. I like it. Have you seen School of Rock,
Starting point is 01:15:13 Tymon? I haven't. Oh my gosh. You gotta watch it. I'm sorry. Anytime I tell people that, they'd. You would love it.
Starting point is 01:15:19 Sorry. Okay. It's PG-13. So check with Maria first. But it is awesome. And there's a line in there because the whole idea is like all these people who are really good at classical music and then they become a rock band all these kids and uh there's a girl that plays cello and he goes turn that uh thing sideways and cello you got a bass so nice yeah spoiler she's a place oh gosh sorry timing i wouldn't even watch it anymore
Starting point is 01:15:47 anyway good picks okay so we got timing says piano voice bass guitar cello brad says guitar trumpet saxophone synth dang thisizer i thought mine were so good you're you guys are gonna what oh wow i don't know you got don't sway the boat, you know? Well, okay. Unless you want to... I mean, I need to win, you guys. Jake needs... Or Jake has drums, violin, didgeridoo, and harmonica. That'd be a good band. That'd be a fun band. And yeah, to be fair, this is not like combine all those things together and it's a band.
Starting point is 01:16:16 But you could think about... Oh, in that case. Well, I don't know who would win then. I think Tyma would win. Yeah, he's got voice. But he's got a bass guitar and a cello. You don't need both those. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Oh, yeah? Come up with some interesting stuff, probably. Any other honorable mentions? Plenty. I put down the wooden fish thing. What is that? Remember learning about that in elementary school? It was shaped like a fish and it was ribbed on the side and you'd rub a stick against it.
Starting point is 01:16:44 Oh, sure. What was that thing called? A washboard? Yeah, but it was shaped like a fish and it was like ribbed on the side and you'd rub a stick against it oh sure what was that thing called oh it's like a washboard washboard yeah but it's shaped like a fish i gotta know what you're talking about and i don't strive for it i don't know if they're always shaped like a fish or if it was just like hey what if we shaved this thing like a fish people are willing to play it yeah i know i that makes sense okay uh banjo was tough not to pick banjo i thought about it it. I was so close. Banjo is fun. Rachel grew up playing the flute. So that was the Rachel pick.
Starting point is 01:17:08 Oh, did she? And those little flute. My sisters were flautists. I think she kind of grew up playing it. And then recently, like I think during quarantine, she busted it back out to learn like the office theme song and parks and rec theme song. So she might still know how to play those on the flute.
Starting point is 01:17:22 Harp, biblical, very pretty. They have a harpist that plays at our church. That's fire. And I'm like, there's so many people in this band, I'm never hearing the harp. It's so cool looking at it. You got to mic that thing up, bro. Tambourine, it's fun.
Starting point is 01:17:35 Probably one of the only instruments I can play. I know my way around a tambourine. Harder than it looks to play. Yeah, there's levels to it. And then there's some other ones that I didn't love, but some really extra credit things. Hand on your chest. Okay.
Starting point is 01:17:53 Good instrument. Yeah, just on the leg. Little snap, yeah. If we're talking instruments, juggling balls. Oh. D'Angelo Vickers. I never touch another man's instruments. Right.
Starting point is 01:18:02 And then just like anything you find in a science classroom, graduated cylinder, beaker, that was for Steve Coop. Those type of instruments. Okay. Those are great instruments. Nice. Great instruments. You got any timing? I had like timpani. There's like the deep like orchestral drums. Timpanis are dumb. They're so cool.
Starting point is 01:18:19 You'll need them for like five seconds of each song, but when they're in there, it's nice. I mean, it's like, what's what's the is it what's it called the 2001 space odyssey isn't that like the famous like theme but it's like yeah yeah whenever i see someone who has a very minor role in like a big like symphony production or whatever like they do the cymbals three times like it would be so much harder to do that than play the entire song on the guitar i think because you're following along the entire time yeah you still have to pay attention but it's like i only like i don't
Starting point is 01:18:54 know it would be harder like it's easier to stay in rhythm if you're already doing something but like just to come in like think too hard about it and right yeah that seems harder to me just a half second those people yeah often will do like two things or three things. Do the xylophone for a second. Oh, and they're doing the chimes or something. It's kind of fun, yeah. I had cajon, ukulele. I forgot about the uke. I didn't think about uke.
Starting point is 01:19:13 Ukulele, yeah. Yeah. French horn. Yeah. Tuba. Tuba, I almost picked tuba. Fun marching band. Tuba's just like, if you're playing tuba, you're a fun guy.
Starting point is 01:19:23 You know, like no boring sad sack plays a tuba. Like I could see you're playing tuba, you're a fun guy. You know, like no boring, like sad sack plays a tuba. Like I could see Zach playing the tuba, Tymon's friends. He has a tuba. Really? He has so many instruments, but he has like a, like it's like a mini, smaller version of a tuba. Like a baritone or, but does it wrap around? Baritone tuba. Okay. No, not quite. Like I would love
Starting point is 01:19:40 the ones that you can like squeeze into. You know, they like, they like envelop you. And it's always the big guys that play the tuba. Put some Crisco on you and just kind of squeeze it in there. Cause like at like KU basketball games and stuff, the tubas are always rotating back and forth while they're playing. That's nice. And it's really fun.
Starting point is 01:19:55 Uh, yeah. Then I had like thermometer, speedometer. Uh, yeah, that's good. I,
Starting point is 01:20:01 uh, I know you picked drum kit, so I wasn't, I wasn't going to pick this any that way probably, but symbols. Cause imagine if you did like, you I wasn't going to pick the same way probably, but cymbals. Because imagine if you did like you made a joke and it was just like, Because in my stand-up routines, I do have
Starting point is 01:20:13 the cymbals are a big part of it. So anyway, it's like a TJ Maxx in here. Not the same. Not the same. Not the same. A TJ Maxx in here. Now it's funny. And then the only other one I didn't have was Mandolin.
Starting point is 01:20:30 Kind of fun. Yeah, I play the Mandolin. I don't remember how those sound. They're kind of like the violin of guitars, I would say. Best impersonation. Need to breathe with a mandolin in there? Yeah, they're like a higher pitched guitar kind of i think they might
Starting point is 01:20:45 be in the same tuning as a violin kind of like a almost like a banjo like in the way that they're the rhythm they're played maybe uh i don't know yeah yeah they're they get picked a little more i don't know banders get paid too yeah yeah oh listen to some nickel creek time and you'll your mind will be blown smoothie song nickel song. Nickel Creek. Smoothie song. All right. That it? Yeah, it's mine. Wrap it up? Yeah. Cool.
Starting point is 01:21:08 Let's do our YouTube comment of the week. Just comment of the week, right? Yeah, that's right. Also, I do want to put in at the end of the episode, maybe just for the audio, let's just toss in the train song because I think I found it online. Okay, perfect.
Starting point is 01:21:19 So just go at the end for Spotify and Apple and Google, Android. Hey, hey, hey. Whatever you're using. Whatever. I'm going to do my comment first. It's from Megan Carlson. She was at Grande Boo, and she just sent me a DM today.
Starting point is 01:21:33 Her husband's name is Cale. She said, Cale and I had such a wonderful time over Grande Boo weekend. They're awesome. Laughter is good for the soul. They are awesome. They're warm people. You know what I mean? That's a good way of looking at it.
Starting point is 01:21:43 Yeah. She said, laughter is good for the soul. Your fans are seriously a cut above. We spoke with so many people and never heard a negative word. Thank you for making it possible. Dang. Isn't that nice? The people up in Nebraska ain't half bad. I would say so, brother. Did you see the women's volleyball Nebraska thing? I saw, yeah,
Starting point is 01:22:09 90,000 or something. It set the record. Largest attended women's sporting event of all time. It was college volleyball. Awesome. Rachel was really keeping up with it. Yeah, so cool. College football, Steve. Yeah. Volleyball. So cool. Sweet. Mine comes from Fort Cox 09. Okay. It says, Jake, cool. Sweet. Mine comes from Fort Cox. Oh nine.
