Starting point is 00:00:00 So a long time ago, I was, I found this on my notes. I was running PowerPoint slides for a like writing class presentation thing. It's just like a random connection I had. They were like, can you come run these, run this computer? You have the most random gigs. I love it. It was pretty fun. I was running the PowerPoint for a writing class. Actually, it wasn't fun. It was extremely boring.
Starting point is 00:00:18 But that's why this was notable to me. The presentation was kind of a debate style thing with two different sides, two people, public schooling versus homeschooling. Oh yeah. And I just wrote down, in my opinion, homeschool side had better points, but the person advocating for it had a speech impediment. Uh oh, ooh I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white meat too
Starting point is 00:00:45 Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead Get on your feet, cause this is a Ghost Brothers podcast Ghost Brothers podcast Every Monday morning we're taking back Ghost Brothers podcast Ghost Brothers podcast That's so funny because, yeah, it's like they have the, they have the material, they have
Starting point is 00:01:09 the formula to win the argument, but they don't have the social skills to like communicate it. It's tough. You got to send a proxy communicator. It's like you need closed captioning on this guy or something. Like what did you say? Yeah. In writing it seems great, but in not in person.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Not in person. Yeah. Yeah. I'm way better. I'm, I thought this was whiting, not we not in person. Not in person. Yeah. Not. Yeah, I'm way better. I'm I thought this was whiting not weeding. Yeah, I better faith to faith. Yeah, let's do this guys. Please take me seriously.
Starting point is 00:01:36 That's great. Oh man, he had better points. But man, it was hard to look back. He's tucked in shirt with his jean shorts. When was this? Several months ago. I don't know. I remember it was kind of chilly outside and rainy. So I don't know what time of year, but yeah. Yeah. That was just pretty funny. That's great. Good observation. Thank you. Do you think that they're debating like homeschool versus public school and public school like in?
Starting point is 00:02:06 Yeah home field advantage. Yeah. Yeah, because it feels like the the arguments are gonna be skewed towards homeschool with the homeschoolers Probably so I yeah, I'm not exactly sure I'm assuming I think both sides of the debate people were Homeschooled but like had to you know, just like one person was assigned this to find the pros of each thing It's just like one person was assigned this to find the pros of each thing. It's just like, I don't know, it's just like a passive aggressive way of the homeschooler like complaining about his life. Like public school, like, I don't know, they don't have to like clean up everything. Their mom makes them clean up every single, you know, minute of every day.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Doing math in pajamas is not as great as you'd think it'd be. I hear that girls are nice if you talk to them, but I wouldn't know. I think public school kids would know that. If I ever need to crack a safe, I'm going to be way under, you know, experienced compared to all of my peers. I don't know how to use one of those. Yeah. Those circles.
Starting point is 00:03:02 When I watch movies, I don't know what's Hollywood and what's real because in the in the schools Lord of the Rings, it's just a lot of lighting tricks. I think. Did you in the backseat? Did you guys film any new content together? We did. We didn't end up unfortunately doing any like interview stuff at SBC, which we're like, oh yeah, I forgot about that.
Starting point is 00:03:22 But we did on the ride up record like we did our best shot like a long form type thing. A podcast. A podcast. But we'll see how it turns out. I think the final recording was about 50 minutes long. Five zero. And I'm guessing it will be cut down to 25 to 30. Over the things getting cut out.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I don't know. Some of it's just like maybe someone makes getting cut out. But I don't know. Some of it, I mean, some of it's just like, maybe someone makes a thing. It's like, I don't know if that should be in it. And then also sometimes just like, what should we do next? What should we like? Sure. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Yes. Was it just like freeform Ghostbusters style? Like just nothing? Or was it like, let's talk about this. So we did the, we did a live stream beforehand to be like, maybe people can give us some like maybe ideas of like, oh great riff about in the thing. Yeah. Got a few. That's kind of like what kept us moving along. Otherwise it was kind of just random. But the goal was to get like out of it. Some clips we can also just put on Instagram like
Starting point is 00:04:17 yeah to keep up our our thing we do. So we'll see. I haven't yet like sat down and like went through it, but we'll see. Okay. You're the producer of that podcast as well. I am Did you have like mics for everybody or did you uh, yeah, we figured it out Pass it around because zach has his two like nice mics that he's used for the um That he has and then I have Two a lot less nice mics. Okay, figure that out Everyone had a mic did Zack was dry with one hand Mike with the other. Yeah, love it. Yep I have an idea that I'm really excited about with you guys of a episode on location soon. I mentioned it Us guys. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm excited about yeah, hopefully soon. Yeah make it happen. Yeah
Starting point is 00:05:04 I Yeah, hopefully soon. Yeah, make it happen. Yeah I Had an awkward encounter with a man No, dude is wild you just wait. You're not supposed to laugh again. Oh dang it So this guy was in the steam room not laughing yet. Still don't laugh. Stop So the Oh, I would be distracted. Oh, yeah. Hurry stop, please. Laugh long story short. Jake, you've been in the steam room.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Yes. I hated it. Loved every minute of I thought about you yesterday was a steamy. I was like, because it was it was getting so steamy. I was like, cause it was, it was getting real steamy. And I was like, Jake would absolutely hate you. Have you done it? Timing? I want to try it on a steam. It's measure. Let's go three heats, baby. Come on. I had mental toughness. I want to see if I have it. You would be fine. I think Jake just really doesn't like being too hot. It's worse than you think. I wonder if it would be anyway. Uh, so the steam room, as the name suggests is supposed to be steamy, but basically you have to kind
Starting point is 00:06:12 of invigorate it sometimes. Like it won't, it won't just continue to just like be steamy if there's no one in there and no one, you know, wants it to be steamy. So it's hot. It's like a sauna, but then the steam obviously comes from water. And so I walk in there and there's this dude who looks kind of like, you know, the guy that was cast as the Oompa Loompa in the Charlie Depp version of Willy Wonka and the Charlie Factory. I do not. I don't know that guy. He's like the one guy that's like CGI didn't as all the plays. Everybody. Yeah. Yeah. This guy looked like a larger version of him. Maybe we'll call him the Sultan from Aladdin.
Starting point is 00:06:50 That guy got OK. Indian fella. Indian fella. Yeah. I'm guessing somewhere over there. Sri Lankan. This guy. This guy looked like he was comfortable in the steam room. Like this guy's been around a steam room. OK. You know, a bath before. But I walk in there and there is no steam in there. OK, you're just in a classroom.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And so the idea, yeah, it's just warm. And so the idea is like, hey, get some water, pour it on this little apparatus on the wall. And then there's a little button you press, and it'll steam up. It's awesome. It's great. It's all steamy. Um, this guy is sitting pretty close to the, uh, steam apparatus. Uh, so I go back and I was
Starting point is 00:07:32 going to get a water bottle and then I said, I was like, what if I just get a towel? I've seen people do this before they soak the towel in water and then they just put the towel on top of this apparatus. And so the water is like continually going into this apparatus to make more steam. Okay. Kind of following more or less. Yep. Okay. And so this guy is sitting there. Imagine he's sitting there. Here's the wall where the apparatus is.
Starting point is 00:07:53 I mean, he's, let's call it 12 inches away from the apparatus. And so I walk up with my towel and he's just sitting there in his towel and I'm holding like trying to hold this up right next to this guy. He's just sitting there in his towel and I'm holding like trying to hold this up right next to this guy. He's just sitting there. I'm thinking to myself, surely you're going to scoot over or just like at least acknowledgement. I'm just like, I'm like, basically imagine like you're sitting down on a bench and there's a person standing right
Starting point is 00:08:20 in front of you. It's like a crowded subway, but it's not crowded. It just, you chose to stand on top of it. He's the only person in the room. And I'm like, do you see what I'm trying to do for all of us here? Like you surely you don't want to be in the steam room with just no steam. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Like I'm trying to do this. And I mean, the steam's not coming on, man. Like I was like, I don't know what's wrong, but nothing's, it's not working. And I almost aborted, but luckily let's call it. I mean, it was a solid 10 seconds of me, like holding it there with this guy, not acknowledging me, not moving, not doing anything.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Did you give him kind of a, how you doing? Howdy. When I walked in there the first time I would go, I'm gonna go get some water to do the steam. And so he didn't say a thing to me. And so I was like, okay, maybe this guy's just not, whatever, he was not a friendly guy. And then all of a sudden the steam went on and I went over there and he left like 10
Starting point is 00:09:09 minutes later and that was it. But it was just like the most awkward, like I am right here in this guy's grill and please move, like, please at least say something of like, yeah, I don't know the steam. It's not very steamy today. Yeah, man, that's tricky. Yeah. Oh, I've seen it where he's like, say something. Do something. We are two adults, humans, right here next to each other.
Starting point is 00:09:30 And the guy just didn't do a thing, acted like it was completely normal. He was sitting there with his legs crossed. I was basically in the middle of his legs, leaning into him. And it was kind of a panic move on my end. I was like, I shouldn't have done this. What was I thinking?
Starting point is 00:09:46 Not worth it, not worth the steam. But anyway, all I had to say, got steamy. It was a great time. Yeah, what were you doing at the gym? Working out. Little workout? Swim? No, just lifting weights.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Oh yeah, I love the sun, love the hot tub, love the steam, love the weights. So you still do the three heats? Oh yeah. Even by yourself? Oh yeah. Wow. I love it. How long is the gym session? If you go do the three heats? Oh yeah. Even by yourself? Oh yeah. Wow. I love it. How long is the gym session?
Starting point is 00:10:08 If you go to the gym, how long are you there? Sometimes a while. Like an hour and a half, two hours maybe. And sometimes I like, like they have a, the one that I go to has a, like a restaurant, like cafe kind of thing. And so I'll do work there beforehand or afterwards or something. So, but, yeah, this guy, I was just an awkward, like, I don't know, just picture it and just know that it was uncomfortable. I looked up the, uh, the actor. He goes by the name deep Roy deep Roy full name. Gardeep. Oh, I see by deep Roy. Okay. His nationality is British, Indian and Kenyan three heats.. Kenyon. Not bad.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Kenyon. Yeah. Interesting. Didn't see it coming, but hey, you never know. Gurdeep. Hey. Gurdeep. Hey, hey man, Gurdeep, I'll third to you, man. Gurdeep.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Oh, that's fun. Yeah, that's awkward. I don't like being between other men. Yeah, it was just one of those like, come on, help me out here, do something. But, dude, help me. Help me, Keynes. I have so many things on my list of things to talk about
Starting point is 00:11:18 that I think are all water-based to an extent. So you want, mind if I have a little water conversation? Think of some water stuff too, Timon. Everyone contribute. First water thing is, I think it started last week or so, and I noticed again a couple of nights ago, is when Rachel and I got married, she introduced me to the Brita filter, that whole system. I have never cared. Water from the sink, hose, I don't notice anything.
Starting point is 00:11:43 You're talking like the pitcher, Brita? Yeah, it's like a pitcher. You know, it's got a little spout. Rachel's big on this. Oh, hose, I don't notice anything. You're talking like the pitcher, Britta? Yeah, it's like a pitcher, you know, it's got a little spout. Rachel's big on this. Oh no, it's the best. You know, you age your water here, oh, it's the best, and you know,
Starting point is 00:11:53 over time, she's convinced me, like I have to get my water from this pitcher, I guess, so I do. That's how it starts, and then you start getting spreaders. And then I get, yeah, wider knives, and yeah. It's a new guy. But, so, yeah, last week I started to notice this water tastes funny out of here.
Starting point is 00:12:09 And normally I'm not the census guy in the house. Like maybe, Rachel's one, something smells weird. Yep, it was 45 feet away. I knew something was, she's big on all this. Tastes weird, smells weird, sounds weird. But I was like, no, it sums up. Sure enough, Rachel tries it, like, oh, this is bad. Hey, maybe the filter's bad. I'll buy us a new filter. A filter arrives, I'm reading, no, it sums up. Sure enough, Rachel tries it like, oh, this is bad. Hey, maybe the filter's bad.
Starting point is 00:12:25 I'll buy us a new filter. Yeah. A filter arrives, I'm like reading the directions because of course, first born, you know? And I'm like, it looks like we're supposed to change this every two months. And Rachel's like, wow, I have it changed in over a year. I was like, wow, that's nuts.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Oh well, so maybe it wasn't that filtered. So it explains the bad taste at a certain point. So I go to put it in, I'm installing the new Brita filter last night. And as I'm doing it, I see like, oh, it's like barely dripping out of this filter now. It's like going really slow. And so I start looking it up
Starting point is 00:12:57 and turns out that's exactly how it's supposed to operate. So the whole year we've had this filter, it hasn't been filtering anything. It's never filtered anything. It's just like a direct, just like. Yeah, this is a super convenient thing because it just like goes right in. Instantly.
Starting point is 00:13:12 It's amazing how it works. I didn't know any better. I didn't know any. Yeah, sure. Yeah, you just fill it up and you got filtered water pretty instantly. Yeah, it's like a live straw. Yeah, and so now, well, yeah,
Starting point is 00:13:23 it's just funny for a number of reasons. So this whole time, Rachel's been like, obviously I'm not gonna drink out of the sink water. Sink water is disgusting. That's now, well, yeah, it's just funny for a number of reasons. So this whole time, Rachel's been like, obviously I'm not going to drink out of the sink water. The sink water is disgusting. It's great. You could taste the difference. That's all we've drank for the last year or more is just sink water. And also the Brita filter, I have a little beef with it. It's so slow. Yeah. That's why I do not like those things. Yeah, I'm going back to sync. Oh, dude, I would get fired up. Like, yeah, early marriage.
Starting point is 00:13:48 We had a Brita filter. I'm telling you, that's where it starts. It's so slow. That's where it starts. And I would get so frustrated when I would walk in to the fridge, whatever, open the fridge, and there was just a little bit of water left in the filter. Because I'm like, it's going to take an hour.
Starting point is 00:14:02 What? Yeah. I was like, that's going to take an hour. It's not going to be cold if it the filter. So I'm like, it's going to take an hour. What? Yeah. I was like, that's going to take an hour. It's not going to be cold, you know, if it does filter. And so I'm like, I was a huge fan of like filter or put water in every single time you drink some of it. Oh, yeah. But then Catherine was like, but then sometimes it'll
Starting point is 00:14:17 like fill up more than the, like it won't go all the way down because there's not enough area for it to filter down. Yeah. I was like, live with that. I don't know what to tell you. I don't know. It's a wonky system. Yeah, that's what I told Rachel.
Starting point is 00:14:29 I was like, we want to filter. So I think we're going to put a filter on the sink or something, cut out the delay. We have a Kooligan, and I love it. I don't know if you have a spot for that in your house very well in your kitchen. But it's reasonably priced, and it tastes. I never thought I would care care and now that I have one, I'm like, this is better water. Yeah, it's filtered obviously and it's not too expensive.
Starting point is 00:14:53 So I think I'm going to be a sink guy. I've enjoyed the last year of my life. I've enjoyed the water I've drank. I don't think there's anything wrong. If you're content, be content. Don't worry. Don't try to be somebody you're not. Do you have to bend over to use the Coligan? A little bit. And it's a little annoying. Because it's only bending over a little bit. Like, because that's almost-
Starting point is 00:15:13 But you got a 32 ounce? That was like 40 seconds. Dude, that's almost harder on my back. Like the small, like it's one thing to like- Get all the way down. Yeah, like I'm 90. I'm 90 degrees, I'm fine. But it's another thing to just be like- all the way down. Like I'm 90. I'm not, I'm 90 degrees. I'm fine. You know? But it's another thing to just be like, slight lunge. Yeah. Just like right here.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Like that's not how your body's supposed to bend. You're not supposed to be leaned over like this too long. And so luckily kids are awesome for so many reasons. One of them is they're starting to get pretty good at filling up that water bottle. Even Rosie. Hey, fill up that's water. I was worried. She was, I was like, this is going to be too heavy for her. She instinctively just like held the bottom of it while she was holding it. And she did great. Smart girl. So, um, but yeah, yeah, you do have to bend over. I even had the thought recently. It was like, I should build a little stand for this thing to make it taller. Get this up on a, what's it called? Apple Apple box? Yeah, that what it is Term yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh box. Yep
Starting point is 00:16:12 What is that? Why I have a fun fact, but I want to know what that is first It's just like a they come in various sizes, but just like a box a wooden box used to it could be Variety of things you could sit on it as a chair Yeah, use it if there's a height difference in an actor yeah one stands on it but none none of it is Apple related okay as far as I know there's some origin with it carry apples yeah or oh guessing or they used to use actual up yeah they use an apple as the thing okay I don't know timing you're gonna have to help me look at this Google up okay while I'm saying it because I don't know, Tyman, you're gonna have to help me look at this Google up while I'm
Starting point is 00:16:45 saying it because I don't know the exact terms or exact facts, but something about like Field of Dreams when we went there, I learned some facts about it. So obviously, knee high by the Fourth of July is what they say about corn. So like it was a big thing, like they were like, we want the corn to be the right height for this thing. If the corn is too low in the corn field, it's not going to look cool when he's walking through it. But then obviously there's only a certain amount of time before it's too high. And so they had to look up some kind of maybe apple box field of dreams, honestly. Like Kevin Costner, like the classic scene where he's walking through
Starting point is 00:17:20 the field, he's on like some kind of stage or something like that because the corn is too high Interesting for how tall he was because it it was like yeah, all of a sudden. Yeah, I was like they had it was like really They don't show his feet walking out and I think so or yeah I guess so because it was really sensitive like time period of like okay the corn's perfect We've got to film this stuff and then by the time they were filming that aspect or that scene, it was too high or something like that. Yeah, for next trick shot superstar, there were some of the girls had to stand on like apple boxes.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Cause like, well, we've already got the tripod set, the lighting set, everything right here. Like it's just easier if you come to me. It's pretty surprising. You can lower your tripod. Yeah, how hard? Yeah, it's up and down. It's not like it's like angled.
Starting point is 00:18:02 It's pretty surprising how short some actors are like you don't realize Yeah, like I think Steve Carell's kind of short. Is he really maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe not short but like I Don't know how tall the guy is five nine. That's not shorter than I think. Yeah, it's more than you think Remember I met Ryan Seacrest thinking he's a kind of a short guy Gurdip Roy 44 short guy, you know Bruno, 4'4", short guy. You know Bruno Mars is super short? No, he is.
Starting point is 00:18:29 What? Yeah, Deep Roy, the Oompa Loompa. That's why he plays an Oompa Loompa. Yeah. Oh, I was- He's exactly 4'4". Oh wow, you're right. I was thinking of somebody else in my head
Starting point is 00:18:41 and then I looked this guy up. That is what he looks, yes, okay. I didn't realize he was four four. Yes Bruno mars is super short. Really? People say it's like if he was tall he'd be unstoppable because he's got like everything else amazing voice. Five foot five Charisma beyond. He'd be unstoppable. No one would know what to do with the guy That's interesting that didn't surprise me that he's short but five five is five five Yeah, there he is next to Taylor Swift and Taylor Swift is a head taller than him
Starting point is 00:19:11 And he's got a hat on That is so interesting about like the psychology of height I was talking to Jensen about that because Jensen for a long Jensen six three six four now But like for a long time he was really short. And then all of a sudden, I think in college he got tall. Oh really? That's nice. And so, yeah, he was like, he was talking about like, he's like, it's crazy how different people will, like, he's like, I can tell somebody talks to me differently now that I'm like tall, like, or like people give me more attention. He's like, that should not be how it is. You know, obviously
Starting point is 00:19:42 it's, but I think it's natural to be natural like oh, there's a tall guy in the room I need to look out look at him look up to him. Obviously. It's kind of interesting. Yeah. Yeah, it is interesting psychology. So Bruno's not too Not too noticeable my second water thing. Thank you. I'm gonna text you guys a link right now I had an you know, I was seeking out pickleball Airbnbs, trying to find one to make a cool video. I had one reach out to me directly. I hadn't even seen them. I couldn't, I didn't even know they existed.
Starting point is 00:20:10 When we look at this, they were like, hey, would you guys want to come out here and make a video on our property? Look at what I texted you. Can I click? You may look, you may click. We'll put a thumbnail on the screen. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:20:22 The stay-wandery. Is that not the coolest backyard? I am liking what I'm seeing. This is somebody's backyard? Me liking. I'm not gonna say that. What? This is a house?
Starting point is 00:20:35 This is a residential house? Yeah, isn't that awesome? Yes. I'm going there. You are? It's like, it's official, it's happening. Where is this? It's outside of, it's about three hours outside
Starting point is 00:20:45 of Los Angeles, it's in like Coachella Valley area. Indio, California. Indio. Holy cow. Even the inside's crazy. I mean, which makes sense if the outside's gonna be like that. The name of the property is called the Lazy River
Starting point is 00:20:58 because their backyard has a pickleball court, looks like an exterior type, like another cool building, and then a giant lazy river in their backyard and like a pop-up course. That is so fun. And so you did not reach out to them. They just straight up like cold emailed whatever you. I had a phone call with her yesterday.
Starting point is 00:21:14 She said, I saw you're like playing Pickleball on like inflatables video. I thought that was so funny. So fun. We're a new business. We're trying to get more eyeballs on us. So I thought I'd just reach out and see if you want to come out.
Starting point is 00:21:25 That's really cool. Yeah, it's like a resort. It's like a, I mean, how many, how does this work? Like, yeah, so yeah, a lazy river, like truly. Like something you've never seen in a backyard before. It's like, to the point where I'm like, is this truly a backyard? But it looks like the front part of it is a house. It's a 6,000 square foot gated private property.
Starting point is 00:21:47 It can house 32 guests. That should be enough for me and Isaac. You're gonna say Scott get a go? Yeah, we're really trying to make it work with Scott's schedule. I would love to just film Scott the whole time. Yeah, we gotta have Scott there. He's gonna be freaking out.
Starting point is 00:22:04 I mean, if you click on the properties tab, all of them look amazing. Yeah, I told her over the phone, I was like, I'm so impressed by what you're doing. All of her properties have pickleball courts. They're all just like so nice and so cool. So they all do? I think like six out of the seven
Starting point is 00:22:18 have pickleball courts or something. So fired up on that form of water, lazy river. How long are you guys gonna be there? I think I just texted her this morning and said, could we do two nights? And she said, yeah, I think we could. Oh, sorry. Two, but we're from Kansas City.
Starting point is 00:22:33 So it's like, two is like two weekends. Yeah. Like total, so it'd be like nine nights. That's crazy, dude. That's beautiful. Yeah, you're gonna have to do some fun stuff there. Yeah. Promote the heck out of it. It's got. Yeah, you're going to have to do some fun stuff there. Yeah. Promote the heck out of it.
Starting point is 00:22:46 It's got a poker table, which is really fun. Oh, maybe after Vegas, timing and Zach. Got the itch. Yeah, that was just pretty fun. Putt-putt course and everything. That's pretty sick. That's wild. You'll probably need like a video guy.
Starting point is 00:23:00 So you probably don't want to film that yourself. It's got water slides? Yeah, mom. It water slides. You can that yourself. It's got water slides? Yeah, mom! The water slides! You can use some trick shots on the water slides? So cool, dude. Yeah, I just did see the whole other building that's just there.
Starting point is 00:23:13 That's great. That is great. Yeah, pretty fun. That's a water update. You go from bread to that? Yeah, drink that water. Looks awesome. So yeah, real fun.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Last water update. I just wanted to, let's go to our thoughts going into the safe water open, the golf tournament. How you feeling? Any predictions? Let's talk golf real quick. I've been swinging in the backyard. Yeah, Steve Koop caught you swinging.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Caught me swinging. He had the other day, early morning, Brad or hey Brad, and I turn around, did not expect to see Rachel's dad. I didn't compute that they were staying overnight at your house. And I was like, what are you? What? It was almost like I didn't recognize. It was like a ghost.
Starting point is 00:23:55 It was like there's surely that's not actually Steve Koop on the Apple box. Yeah. Yeah. I've been swinging, swinging the club around. So my hope we're playing you me Rindle Weaver's coming Yeah, and then another ghosty Micah Butte. He has Micah officially on the team I mean, I don't know as we know he said I he'd be down and I said great. Okay, cool I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's happening
Starting point is 00:24:17 It sounds like Rindle and Micah can play. Yes. I was like Jake obviously a little rusty but can play I just sent you and Rindle a picture yesterday of my closed fist. I mean, we're at like 97% recovery on the mallet finger because I went out to the drive range a week ago and I was like, I can hold a paddle fine. I can play padel fine. Surely I'm back to golf. And I was surprised not being able to fully bend your finger really affects things in golf. And so I couldn't really a week ago, I couldn't really swing very well. But now?
Starting point is 00:24:45 We're back. I mean, not like we're gonna win this either way, but at least it'll be more enjoyable for me. How good do you think Rendell is? He's a scratch golfer. He's like, So we might win this thing. He's probably better than anyone you've ever played with.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Cool. So pressure's on Rendell. Yeah. Make it happen. So I was gonna say, I wanna use three of my shots. Let's say I wanna use one of my shots now. Hey, let's do, no, no, three. Three? You're gonna use three of my shots. Let's say I wanna use one of my shots now. Hey, let's do, no, no, three. Three?
Starting point is 00:25:07 You're gonna use three of your shots. Two of them will be putts in one swinging shot. Okay, that's fair. And let me putt first every time. So if there is like a three foot putt, it's like, all right, Brad, show us the line. The line was in, you made it. You made it, buddy.
Starting point is 00:25:21 All right, none of us could have done that. We don't know. Yeah, okay. Hey, Brad, you made it, buddy. Good job, buddy. us could have done that. We don't know. Yeah. Okay. Hey Brad, you made it buddy Good job, buddy Okay, stupid question. Well time it'll answer. Okay. First of all time in let's talk some golf real quick For the longest time so grew up playing baseball you hold the baseball bat like this I mean used to run a PowerPoint for like a golf presentation. So, you know, yes
Starting point is 00:25:41 Yeah, you hold your baseball bat hand over hand. Yeah. And so then when I swung the golf club, I swung the golf club hand over hand. But then I noticed some other people were putting, interlocking their pinky with their index finger. And I asked, I don't know, Luke Hoagland, Scott Peck, some of my experienced golfer friends, like how big of a deal is that?
Starting point is 00:26:00 Do I need to learn how to do that? And they're like, I mean, you don't have to know. You can use, you can do a hand over hand. So I've been doing a hand over hand this whole time as kind of, kind of just for fun the other day in the backyard, I do the interlocking thing and it makes a difference. And so anyway, I'll just say I'm going to do that
Starting point is 00:26:17 from now on. The question, stupid question potentially, do you interlock hands like that for putting? Yes. Okay. Yep. Okay. Oh, sorry. I answered it time. I was supposed to Yes All right time another question you can answer for Brad so yes, you're locking is step one, right? Where do the thumbs go? Where does each thumb go on the club? Oh? Feel free to hold hold something here, uh just both pointed down toward the ground. Oh. Feel free to hold something here. Just both pointed down toward the
Starting point is 00:26:47 ground. Oh okay. I think that's accurate. Resting on the club. Okay like this. Okay Brad how do you feel about that? Yeah I don't think I, that's probably right. I don't think I'm doing that though. I think I'm, I think I'm just holding them normal. I think I'm just gripping. Gripping and. Oh Brad that's not a good idea. Yeah I think I'm doing this. Okay. But I think I'm just gripping, gripping and... Oh, Brad, that's not a good idea. Yeah, I think I'm doing this. Okay. But I think I have seen people do this. Is that right?
Starting point is 00:27:10 Timing is correct. Wow. This was kind of a big breakthrough for me because yeah, I was like, yeah, I know what to interlock my fingers, it's golf. But then I was still like, my thumbs were just wrapped around it. And then that helped me a lot.
Starting point is 00:27:19 What does that do? Thumbs broke down. I think it stabilizes the club. It like gets your wrist in a good position. There is so,. I mean there's a thousand things that go into a golf swing You don't need to know all about yeah I've noticed I've noticed like it's helped me like go back easier like my back Swing a little bit. It's because a little string being me. Here's more flexible in general. I could be but I don't know maybe All right, so you got your thumbs down interlocking. We're gonna three your shots
Starting point is 00:27:44 You got a polo picked out. You got a hat picked down. I needed, so you got your thumbs down, interlocking. We're gonna do three of your shots. You got a polo picked out, you got a hat picked out. I needed to ask you about that. Genuinely, like, tell me yes or no on this. Timing. Timing first. I do not own golf shoes. We're going to a nice golf course.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Do I need golf shoes, Timing? Yeah, you're gonna need them. If you want to do well. It will affect your swing and your putting and just. What are some of the other types of shots in golf? Your swing, your putting, your driving, your ironing. Ironing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:21 In case there's an ironing. And your chipping. Good. Okay. Yeah. In case there's an ironing. And you're chipping. Good. OK. Yep. You're sloping. Yeah. You're. What was the one word? Stem. Stemping. I couldn't even think of you. Stemping.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Stemperanius. So get some get some shoes. I'd say one hundred fifty dollars minimum. We're going to want to spend. If you want to play good. Hey, it's your chip. It's your chip. It's your stump. Mainly. I'm just like, I don't want to look like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I don't care that much, but at the same time, I obviously we're like kind of representing them in some way. I don't know. Like I want to be sensitive to like, Hey, they invited us to come to this thing. I don't want to look like a scrub out there. I don't think it looked like too much of a scrub without it. Performance wise, I don't think they add a ton. I mean, rarely will you be in a scenario where, you know, it has to be like a morning golf session with Dewey grass and like not very thick grass, you know, where like, well, I
Starting point is 00:29:14 slipped there and like, yes, I guess golf shoes would have been more helpful. Okay. Very rare. Yeah. Dewey grass sounds like he would be a famous golfer. Maybe Dewey grass is there. He's watching you. He's like, you know, you gotta make sure you aim
Starting point is 00:29:27 those thumbs down. You forgot about that part. Dude, do you know who just gave you a tip? That was Dewey. Dude, that was D Grass, dude. That was Dewey. V Dewey? Yeah, Dewey Grass.
Starting point is 00:29:37 I thought that was just like a weather condition. No, dude. Before Arnold Palmer. Yeah. Before. His real name is Andrew. The other other guys so they call him drewy But then he hit like he had this amazing place on water Yeah, he had this amazing round the entire day was dewy for whatever reason. I don't know
Starting point is 00:29:54 I didn't think it was possible 98 humidity. You should see him in a library That guy's that guy could find some decibels and he could find non-fiction books pretty quickly I still don't know how the Dewey Decimal System works. I think it's like it's non-fiction books sorted by category. Timon? Never heard of this in my life. Whoa! Dewey Decimal System?
Starting point is 00:30:16 No, I've heard... Timon's like, we just own our own books and we have a library or a house. But I don't know what it means. Sorry, I've heard of it. It's some way to like categorize books in the library Classification system that uses numbers to organize books by subject and libraries and schools Otherwise knows the DDC This is clear by the DDC
Starting point is 00:30:36 You've been to the border North Korea. Oh the DDC scary So it's yours yours euros for computer science 100s hundred's for philosophy, two hundred's for religion, so on and so forth. Oh, interesting, okay. That's cool. Dewey grass. But yeah, beyond that, I haven't thought, I don't know, I did think, I was like,
Starting point is 00:30:53 should I wear my fun golf polo? Cause I have like a roback that's like, got like a golf cart design on it, and I don't wear that one very often. Yeah, GRKC20 if you wanna get your own roback. It's fun to see some ghosties this past weekend and some Robeck. Alvaro had some Robeck on.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Preston Whitmill. Preston. Looking fresh. Yep. Preston. So yeah, I don't know. Have you thought anything about it? Haven't picked out the outfit.
Starting point is 00:31:17 I know you're going to bring clubs because you're left-handed and it's going to be hard to combine those. I have made a deal with Vrindal Weaver. I said, I will give you, I'll bring all of my own accessories and I'll give you a free thing of VICE golf balls if I could borrow your clubs.
Starting point is 00:31:30 And he's like, yeah, you didn't need to do that. You could have borrowed my clubs anyway. Dang it. No, it'd be nice. And I think I'm gonna bring Rendell like a polo too. I have so many of them. I'm always giving them away. He'd look great in some row back.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Last year I gave Gunnar a polo every time the Chiefs won. This year I'm always giving away. He'd look great in some row back. You know, last year I gave Gunnar a polo every time the Chiefs won. This year I'm doing a thing, because Scott also loves the polos, also fits in a medium. So every week, have I said this on the podcast? I'm doing a different wager between Gunnar and Scott, a Chiefs based wager.
Starting point is 00:31:55 So like week one was like, guess the score. Whoever gets closest gets a golf polo. This week it's Travis Kelsey receiving yards. Whoever gets the closest gets a golf polo. Fun. Throw one in Randall a golf polo. Fun. Throw one Randall Weaver's way. I don't know if Mike is a medium. I'll bring one for him.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Do you have them send you their answers separately? Do you make one person choose first depending on who won the week before? I should have them do it separately for like things that are like a over under type thing. Yeah. That's a good point. Yeah, that's fun.
Starting point is 00:32:21 I'm looking here at the weather. Looks pretty nice. High 80, low of 53 Wow big range Whoa, that's a big range. Do you that's a big range? Yeah, Colorado for you, man. Looks like around our time though. It's gonna be 77 degrees Oh, yeah afternoon kickoff or cheese football season. Yeah, T off Timon what does a shotgun start mean in golf or in anything? Uh, just starting immediately. Once you like, don't let's not waste any time. There's no
Starting point is 00:32:50 practice like swing. There's no, you don't even line up. You kind of run into it. Yeah. Like don't stop moving. Yeah. You run into it. You have like, you only have one, yeah. Point seven seconds to like stand, but you gotta start swinging before two of them. I love the idea. We're just like hanging out in the clubhouse and then you just hear a shotgun go off. Doof!
Starting point is 00:33:11 Like, oh, shoot! Go, go, go, go, go! Sprinting out. Yeah, it's pretty close. Thanks. It's like instead of like, in like the PGA Tour, everyone would slowly start on hole one and everyone plays the course in the typical order,
Starting point is 00:33:24 one to 18. Shotgun start is like, all right, Jake and Brad, your team, you're gonna start on hole one and everyone plays the course in the typical order one to 18 shotgun start is like all right jake and brad your team you're gonna start on hole 12 all right you guys you're on hole 15 and that way it doesn't instead of taking eight hours it takes four and a half or whatever shotgun i shot out all the players that's right point seven seconds i'm excited, dude. I want to use one shot. But I want to have a decent, I don't want to be terrible, for the other 20,000 shots. Yeah, one of those times where it's like,
Starting point is 00:33:55 all right, I think we're good, let's use Randall's ball. Oh wait, we gotta go get Brad's ball. I know. Oh, I forgot Brad's is over there. I don't want it to feel like every single time we're just searching for my ball, like where did it go? It's in here somewhere Yeah, I'm gonna bring a lot of extra balls. I'll just say I can I can bring some for you, too
Starting point is 00:34:10 Yeah, that'd be great. I'm gonna I'll be the accessories guy. I'll bring keys balls Shoes for myself. Well, you got a glove. I got a few gloves, baby Oh, yeah. Yeah, you like the gloves Scott asked me you go two gloves for the tournament I don't think I need to this time not too blissey. That's fun Cool last thing with water kind of little thing called coffee. Yep Raise hands who's heard of it Do you know what the main ingredient is got in coffee is water? That's correct You know what the second most popular ingredient is?
Starting point is 00:34:45 Beans. Beans, yep. If you look on the back of the label of your mug, once you prepare yourself coffee, it's in order, it goes water, beans, and then cacao. Yes. And then it knows how much cream and sugar you put in, so it'll be in there too.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Well, this is my favorite coffee mug here, and it says local coffee, local people. This one says Main Street Roasters. Showmanship of that was great. So, you're looking to a camera that's not there. See it? Go ahead and zoom in. Zoom in.
Starting point is 00:35:21 You got it? Optical zoom. Let's pan. You got, yeah, you wanna. All right. Okay. Stable tripod. Anyway, oh, it's forming some sort of mega, mega drink. Mm-hmm. Kicking and screaming. Some sort of a quote. There's forming some sort of mega human. Some sort of a quote. Some sort of a movie quote. I didn't expect you to pause and hone in on it. I wanted you to kind of just keep going. The people who have seen Kicking and Screaming now.
Starting point is 00:35:51 They get it, they're real fan fans. They're real fan fans at the Napanee Indian Roasters. Napanee is where Major Roasters is and they have once again sponsored this episode. Yes. How nice, how nice, yeah, and they don't plan to stop. As long as you keep supporting them, zoom in. Please,. Starting point is 00:36:06 Please. Please support them. Come on. I'm looking right at you. Come on. So yeah. Get your beans. Get your water-based coffee.
Starting point is 00:36:17 You have to add water, not included. Water, not included. They're big on that. They're big on that. Water, not included. But they'll sell you beans. They'll sell you grounds. They'll say whatever you need, K-cups.
Starting point is 00:36:25 You can get it all at Major Roasters. I think I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, but my sister said, I've just been using K-cups, they've finally got Major Roasters. Holy cow. It makes a difference. What a difference, so much better, so much nicer. So, we're gonna hear first.

Starting point is 00:39:08 blueberry sauce episode. Arby's sauce. Just amazing. Well, I stand by Arby's sauce. Yeah, really, I should have gone to ketchup and set a pesto. Looking back. You were true to yourself though.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Yeah. Later in the episode, you mentioned something about Red Robin and I was like, Red Robin's campfire Sauce is some of the best. Oh. I don't remember. I don't even know it. I remember the seasoning.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Oh, it's so good. No, when you get fries, they just give you sauce. I think Campfire Sauce and Ranch, whatever their signature sauce is so good. Let's see how close one is to us. It might be there for lunch. It's so good. Are we Red Rob for lunch today, boys? Those steak fries unlimited?
Starting point is 00:39:44 Not crazy close. I was going to say that. I think the one lunch today, boys. Those steak fries unlimited. Not crazy close. I was gonna say that I think the one. Oh, it says permanently closed. It's the sickies garage now. Yeah, the one over by where you used to live. Over the park. Yep, this one's open. Yeah, Olathe.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Olathe will keep a red robin in business. 135th Street, wow, just to get there. 20 minutes, one way to get to our closest red robin. Anyway, campfire sauce. Yeah, if I'd have thought of that, that might have there 20 minutes one way to get to our closest red robin anyway Yeah, if I'd have thought of that that might have been my number one pick because you got chick-fil-a sauce So that would have been probably I mean if we're ranking How they taste it's so good good to know I Yeah, so this this week we're gonna do schmores. It's gonna be the greatest the best TV show theme songs
Starting point is 00:40:24 and I like this one I also feel a little bit bad for time and because I feel like maybe you're not as much into TV not at all that true no I've watched very few very little TV but I'm gonna do my best favorite youtuber intro theme songs whatever they're watching these days so I won last week, right? Yep. Yep. Jake is wore the swim cap We're only by 5% though on the Facebook, but apparently by long a lot in the in person I think people people are really like like if I had polls for like a politician I would I'd be really down in the polls like the approval rating of Brad because I feel like I dominated that list
Starting point is 00:41:03 If for only way by 5%, that's crazy. I think people just don't like me anymore. It's fine, no problem. A lot of girls like pesto. But not enough to vote for it over. I had such a solid list. What were your four? Chocolate syrup.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Oh yeah, chocolate syrup. Ketchup, honey roasted barbecue. Which was my pick from earlier. Even if it is, then great. That's fine. Whatever. And what was my fourth one, Tymon? Do you remember?
Starting point is 00:41:30 Are you seeing? Boysenberry sauce from IHOP or something? Ranch. Yeah. That's a great list. I think Ranch got you a lot. Yeah. People, it was really fun to listen to people clap.
Starting point is 00:41:41 You get instant gratification. Oh yeah, Ranch, Ranch, Ranch. I felt good. So. All right. What's the order this week? This week we'll go Timon, Jake, Brad. Fun. Cool. I'm gonna start out. I feel very strong about this. Andy Griffith's show. No, I thought I was going to get that in the third round. Great answer. I didn't have it on my list. Okay. And I think in post, let's put, let's put these songs because that is a, that is a vibe of a song. It's so good. The Andy Griffith show. I can't believe I thought for sure that would
Starting point is 00:42:17 have been, yeah. Third or fourth round for me. You got to understand. I watched very few shows. So the ones I watched, the ones I like and no I'm gonna pick first. So Wow, I think time I won the draft That's good. Yeah, I can't believe you swipe that for me immediately That is such a clean whistle by that guy. Whoever sink does that is I bet it's Andy himself They do it in house Good singer probably good whistler. I love that good answer time and Catherine's voting for you I don't care what I say Catherine's voting for you now
Starting point is 00:42:47 I've got another one that I think is gonna if I pick it even more lock in Catherine's vote. Oh, okay All right next up. I'm gonna go with Friends So no one told you life wasn't gonna be this way Your job's a joke, you're Oh, like, let's make a, that's extended. And so the second verse, so that very first line of this whole song is, so no one told you life was gonna be this way. And then the second verse it goes, your mama told you there'd be days like these. Those are contradicting each other. Yeah. Also doesn't hit the same. I don't like the syllables. It was kind of a little bit of a bridge.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Okay. Yeah, if you will. So no one told you it was gonna be this way or your mom did? Yeah, your mama told you there'd be, it's like, wait a second. You say my mom's a nobody? You said no one would, no one told me. So fun fact for you. Fun fact.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Great answer though, just so good. All right, my number one, one, one 90s kid, Fresh Prince. Oh, how did I not think of that? Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down. And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there. I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air. I think that's the one that's like like Like a parody of that for settlers of Catan
Starting point is 00:44:40 They put the rubber right there and said right there Yeah, whatever somebody somebody will write it. Well, it's gonna be better than what we just did. What's the card where you get everyone's like, we do whatever? Monopoly. Yeah, Monopoly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:53 All right. All right, Fresh Prince, number one. And number two, just my favorite show of all time. Just a sweet little instrumental song from the office. ["F the Office"] Yep, this first thing I wrote down. Yeah, so good, so memorable, so catchy, so wonderful. Yeah. What do I do from here? Really fell off after this first,
Starting point is 00:45:25 after the office, Price is Right. Andy Griffith threw you off. Yeah, those were all really good. We didn't say Price is Right. I wondered where that came from. I should put that on my list then. That's such a Rachel, like, you sound like Rachel right now. Okay,'m going to go with Parks and Rec. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:46:05 It's one of the, this is actually, now that I think about it, this is a good test. I don't, maybe it's because I've seen the office so many times. I'm like, yeah, skip intro. Parks and Rec is still so new to me. I don't skip intro on Parks and Rec because I'm enjoying the song so much. It's such a happy song. Yeah, it is. I might be the one show.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Do you like it when the like, music changes just slightly right when Ron's taking his gun and going like this You ever notice that? I noticed those two things Yeah, yeah, I don't I currently don't skip intro on Parks and Rec because I really enjoyed the song the beginning of it's really hard To sing can you try to sing the beginning? No. Because it's just like, dun dun, dun dun, dun dun, dun dun. But then it gets into it.
Starting point is 00:46:52 So. Good pick. You got any updated Parks and Rec opinions for us? No, I don't. I think it's been a while. Okay. I don't think I have anything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:03 I think I'm going to go with Mr. Rogers neighborhood. Oh, on my list, dude. Good answer. It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood. A beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Mine might be all old shows, which I'm fine with.
Starting point is 00:47:22 And that's okay. Uh, yeah. Isn't that just a classic's okay. Yeah, I think that's just a classic. Mr. Rogers, man. I hope that he was perfectly awesome, like he seemed like he was. I'd be really sad if something came out about him. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like Tom Hanks wouldn't have played him in a movie if there was something
Starting point is 00:47:36 shady going on. I believe in those two guys. And then I'm going to say, I was going to go Parks and Rec. I'm going to say Little House on the prairie. There it is That's a Catherine pick. That's what I was thinking That's the one that's like, yeah. Yeah. It's not even you, dog.
Starting point is 00:48:13 You know your audience, man. It's not that incredibly like catchy necessarily, but just so you just hear it. And it's like, oh yeah. Oh yeah. There's something about like recordings of music back in the day for movies and stuff that have a little bit of like not quite perfect. The sound coming out of your speakers, too. It's like kind of muffled a little bit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Yeah, that sounds good. I don't know. Yep. Good answer, Tyvin. Congrats, man. Back to me. I'm gonna go the Jefferson's theme song. Okay. Where we're moving on up, moving on up to the east side up
Starting point is 00:48:55 to a deluxe apartment in the sky. Moving on up, moving on up to the side I never really watched the show to be honest, but when I had a job for the Springfield Cardinals, there was always like the Ashley Home Furniture Upgrade of the Night thing. And they would take two random fans and sit them,
Starting point is 00:49:16 they would move them on up and sit them in like lazy boys for the rest of the game. And so every game I worked, I would hear the Jefferson theme song, cause it was moving on up. And I remember just sitting there and being like, this is so good, I worked, I would hear the Jefferson theme song, because it was moving on up. And I remember just sitting there and being like, this is so good, this is so catchy. I love this theme song.
Starting point is 00:49:29 That's good. That's a, remember the song Batter Up by Nelly? Oh yeah. They sample it. Well, they say fish don't fry in the kitchen. I think that's from that. On the grill. Isn't that the same song?
Starting point is 00:49:41 Yeah, it is. That's fun. Moving on up. It's one of the catchiest ones. I agree. I never watched the show, but it's like, I feel like it's like a really popular song that was also just from that show probably
Starting point is 00:49:52 that went huge after. You like it, Tyman. Well, you just got done putting it in and post of the audio version. So you just heard it. I did like it. Oh man, this is where it's tough for me. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go full house.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Oh. ["Full House"] Oh. Oh. Whatever happened to the difficulty. Man, I forgot so many. I didn't Google, I was like, no, I'm going only memory. I'm not Googling this.
Starting point is 00:50:27 And I forgot so many of them. What ever happened to predictability? That little piano at the beginning. Dun dun dun dun. Yeah, so good, dude. So rare. Oh no, no, that's Family Matters. Family Matters and full house kind of sound
Starting point is 00:50:45 familiar to me. Sorry. Don't say family matters unless you want to. Um, full house is the first one. Uh, and then I don't know, man. I don't know. Um, I'm gonna, I'm gonna go, Timon's winning this one no matter what, so who cares. I think I'm gonna go Arthur. Oh wow. Remember that? The show I watched a ton, but I can't remember the theme song. I said, hey, what a wonderful kind of day. Oh, wow. When you learn to work and play and get along with each other. Yeah, I forgot.
Starting point is 00:51:32 That was a really good one. It was a good one. So that's I thought about some other ones, but I didn't watch them as much as we never watched Arthur. I think I think it was because DW had a bad attitude. Oh, yeah. pretty sure. Careful. Sometimes, sometimes. But she was warranted. No. My last pick comes from a little later in childhood. Absolutely loved it. My one Nickel's gonna take some time to realize.
Starting point is 00:52:13 But if you look inside, you're fine. Now you remember. Yeah. I've seen like videos of is it Drake's the smaller one Drake Bell. Yep Yeah singing that song like recently and people like going nuts. He's like performing it live now. That's kind of fun. Yeah Yeah, just a song. I loved yeah, love it. I still like it. Yeah, Drake and Josh Good. Okay. I'm trying to decide What to go with I think?
Starting point is 00:52:44 Here's Here's one that I've not seen the show. I just like the song. It's catchy. Flintstones. Oh, great. And don't let the water so it's family From the ground and red rock There's a vision and a history Bum bum bum bum bum bum Yeah, that's the old school theme songs were just awesome.
Starting point is 00:53:16 The Jetsons. I don't know the Jetsons. Meet George Jetson. Or not even the Simpsons. Remember that? I never watched Simpsons, but it was like Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun We're not even the Simpsons. Remember that? I never watched Simpsons, but it was like, Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. Honestly, yeah, it's kind of triggering because when that would come on,
Starting point is 00:53:30 it would change the channel. It's like, oh, Wheel of Fortune's over. It's like, whoa, whoa, get that off of there. Change it, change it, change it. Put on the news. Yeah, okay. So Timon said, Andy Griffith, Mr. Rogers, Little House, Flintstones. Jake said, friends, Parks and Rec, the Jeffersons, Drake and Josh. Brad said, Fresh Prince Mr. Rogers, Little House, Flintstones. Jake said, friends, Parks and Rec,
Starting point is 00:53:45 the Jeffersons, Drake and Josh. Brad said, Fresh Prince, The Office, Full House and Arthur. Honorable mentions? Price is right, anyone? How does that go? How does that go? Da da da da da da da da da da da da da.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And also just Jeopardy is a classic. Oh, that's, yes, dude. Yeah, so those are my two game show picks. Didn't even think about game shows. That's Yeah, that's good. I have two honorable mentions one is bluey. Okay, it's a good song and then reading rainbow Oh, yeah, it's like take a look. It's in a book Yeah, that's great I feel like I didn't even watch much of it. We just had two DVDs of like these two episodes of it. So you've seen those two.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I've seen those two. I was younger probably a hundred times, but yeah, that was a fun show. What's the name of the host of that? Amadrasha. Oh yeah. Levar, Levar Burton. Amrashad was a lot of places. Like a different channel probably at the same time. NBA Inside stuff was like Madrashad. This is a great song, but it's just so awesome every time it drops is the Breaking Bad theme song. Just that first like, boom, boom. Oh, I just thought of one. The Mandalorian Disney Plus show
Starting point is 00:55:11 had it has a really good theme song. Really? Yeah. Does it. Cheers was one that I was like, this is iconic. But yeah, it is. Sometimes you wanna go. That's a good song.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Seinfeld just has like that fun. I only know that because I, because Zach had me put it in that little short film thing we made with like, that was just like nonsense on Jesse and Oliver were in. He's like, at the end, it's just like, just put the Seinfeld theme. It's kind of, it's kind of a song, but then every single episode of Seinfeld, they got the guy like re-records the song to like work with Jerry stand up. Have you noticed that? Like they do the song at the beginning kind of, right? But like the bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, but like sometimes it's longer than others. Cause he's like, does anybody have a thing about this? But like sometimes it's longer than others because he's like,
Starting point is 00:56:04 does anybody ever think about this? You know, they do all those weird funny noises. Um, what else I say? Sesame street. I don't know that one. Sunny days, I don't really know that one either. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to, uh, then magic school bus.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Oh, with the fr phrase. No way. Yeah. Isn't that like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Little Richard. Uh, and then Family Matters was the other one. Very similar to full house vibes to me. But anyway, I had no other armor mentions, just the game shows. Everything else got said.
Starting point is 00:56:42 There you go. That's been Schmores brought to you by Good Ranchers. You're kidding. They did that. That's correct Good. Starting point is 00:58:38 Free me until 2028. What are you going to be doing in 2028? I'll be running around coaching football, running around with Junior. Yeah, and eating some American meat. Oh yeah, sorry, I really got lost. No, no, no. My future.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Let's see, me and Jake Junior probably doing, so I'm not doing soccer, but doing some other stuff. Doing some other stuff. Yeah. So that's good ranchers, baby. American meat delivered. Speaking of soccer real quick, did you see that one, Ghosty, it was a really nice post,
Starting point is 00:59:06 and of course the Ghosty's really receptive and really helpful in the comments. They're like, hey, my daughter is playing soccer right now, she's on a really tough team, she's having a tough time, and really laid out what's going on, and so many other, did you see this post? Yeah, yes. And so it was just like, we've tried this,
Starting point is 00:59:22 we've tried this, what do you guys think? I would just love any suggestions. I got so close to commenting, have you considered putting her in a real sport? And I was like, no, I shouldn't. For some reason, I thought, I was like, if the husband had posted it, I would. So we've got the mom posting, I was like, ah, no,
Starting point is 00:59:37 I probably shouldn't post it. And she's like, kind of at the end of her rope with this on her. Yeah, like, I'm going to podcast listeners for help. I mean, what do you do? And every other comment I've been so supportive, praying here's a verse for you. Here's what we do with my daughter.
Starting point is 00:59:50 And I was like, oh, I really want to so bad. I think she would think it was funny, but probably shouldn't. And I'm just saying it now. Yes, say it to everybody. Just joking. Bo has started soccer. Just last week, he did it for his first week.
Starting point is 01:00:02 I didn't know that. Yeah, he's on soccer shots, which is just like It's sock. It's what had he did a couple my soccer friends. Do you remember me saying that? No, hello my soccer friends. Good job, Hattie It's like these Colombian guys that started it. Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Good job, Hattie. Good job my soccer friends Anyway, and he was so excited and is still so excited, but like, um, but then he realized like, but it's just, it's like practice. They don't really like have like, it's just one night a week where they go and they practice,
Starting point is 01:00:34 have a scrimmage at the end. And, um, it was just so cute watching them out there, you know, right when we get there, we got there a few minutes early cause dad drove him. So, um, yeah, okay. You guys just kicked the ball around for a little bit before we get started. Okay. Ball, kick the ball ball. Good job.
Starting point is 01:00:50 Ball. Um, and we were kicking it around and he's like, that, that boy has cleats on because he had his had shoes. He has his shoes on because we don't need to get cleats for a four year old soccer. He's like that, that girl has cleats on too. I was like, it's fine. It's fine. Bo is pointing and I was like, I was like, oh gosh He's gonna like shut down because he doesn't have cleats on luckily. It was like half and half eventually That's good, but it was it was the most like trey kennedy
Starting point is 01:01:16 Lineup of names like it was like really I was like, what's your name? Jackson? He's like braxlin. I was like Really? Wow, really? We're going there. Okay braxlin. All right, braxlin. I was like, really? Wow. Really? We're going there. Okay, Braxlin. All right. Braxlin was kind of a punk. He was five and he wanted everyone to know it. Everyone else was four. He's like, I'm the oldest one here. So, good job, Braxlin. But he had a lot of fun. Eventually he did headbutt another girl on accident. Holy cow. And like cried pretty hard from it, but got back in there, baby. And yeah, they just do all these little like, I mean, they're really good at what they do.
Starting point is 01:01:52 So it's like, you know, this is the, like everyone gets their own ball, but then they put all the balls away and they scrimmage with one ball, obviously. And so the net where all the balls go is the cookie monster. He loves cookies. The balls are cookies. Oh, and Bo's just loving every minute of it.
Starting point is 01:02:09 Whereas like with Hattie, if you remember like the first two or three weeks of it, it was like pulling teeth. Like she just wanted to sit by me. She was upset because the ball was a different color than she saw in the books. You know, like in the books, all the balls are black and white and this ball was red or something. Yeah. You know, like in the books, all the balls are black and white and this ball was red or something. Yeah Anyway, so fun watching him out there and he had such a blast and I don't know just growing up a little bit big Bo so big Bo that's so fun. Yeah team sports. Yeah, glad you're doing it
Starting point is 01:02:36 And he was really pumped like cuz at first he's like, it's just practice It's not even a real game. He was kind of like like being like, you know Underwhelming about it and then all of a sudden when they play games at the end, he's like, and then we got to play a game. So time if you could go back in time and have your parents put you in one sport to play at a young at the age of six, you got to choose which sport would it be? Maybe basketball. It could be fun.
Starting point is 01:03:01 I don't know. Something like that. Why basketball? Just seems like a fun skill to have. And like also just, um, there's plenty of like chances to play it. I don't know. Yeah. Pick up basketball as a sport. You can continue playing. Yeah. Yeah. That's a good answer. Yeah. That's a good answer. And you can practice by yourself. That's what's fun. Like compared to football and baseball. Yeah. It's less. Yeah. Maybe less aggressive than football. I wouldn't like love the.
Starting point is 01:03:25 I don't know. Yeah. Although there's just like do in touch. You know, that's what's great though. Yeah. Is there if you could take away one sport you played growing up and add one sport? Oh, wow. Or would you?
Starting point is 01:03:38 I would choose not to. But if I had to, I really liked how it all went down. What would I take away? I had so much fun with all of them. Oh, how do you take one away? Yeah, I don't know if I'm with you. I don't think I would, because like now it's like, dang, I wish I would have learned how to play golf better as a kid.
Starting point is 01:03:54 But I definitely wouldn't be like, I wish I took golf lessons and didn't play any baseball. Yeah, and just played golf all through high school instead of missing out on all the times in the dugout and the road trips. Yeah, I don't know what you take away. But yeah, would I add golf, maybe at tennis, tennis would help me out a lot right about now.
Starting point is 01:04:09 If I'd grown up playing tennis. Sure. That sounds fun. Did you ever do like one sport for a small season or anything? I don't think so. I think it was always rotational. Yeah. We had to do track and field.
Starting point is 01:04:20 And so I like shot or through discus and javelin or not Jeff. I wish job. That would be fun. Shot put and it was miserable. And so I guess by definition I would take that away. Yeah, take that away. Yeah. It was just more for conditioning for football. And would you add golf or would you add? Yeah. I got into tennis in the end of high school and I think that would be pretty fun to play. Yeah. I guess. Yeah.. Or I was gonna say, no, not soccer. Tennis would be sweet.
Starting point is 01:04:48 Yeah. I would love to play tennis or like to have that experience. There's just something about like golf and tennis where you can be like, oh, that guy, that guy's played before. He played at a young age. Yeah. You can see.
Starting point is 01:04:58 The way they swing their things are different. Isaac actually had an idea for like a five second Friday Pickleball short that they were gonna shoot this week. I was just like, hey guys, you know, it looks like a tutorial video. I've got the number one secret on how to get a two-handed backhand and pickleball. Grow up playing tennis.
Starting point is 01:05:15 Yeah. That's like the whole video. I was like, that's really it. It feels so unnatural for me, but the tennis players just do it so effortlessly. They look nice doing it. So there you go. Fun facts, fun thoughts. So there's that. Would you like to do, what would you like to do next? Toss in a little wind? Clear out the
Starting point is 01:05:36 notes? What would you like to do? Clear out some notes. Clear out some notes. Let's just kind of pepper back and forth a little. Okay. Timon you got some notes to clear out? Yeah what was your, what was your, explain your thought on this? Basically, I mean, I don't know about you, Jake, slash time. And but like there's there's just certain like I have a doc for all notes for all my podcast notes. And sometimes it's just like I've never said this. Is it really worth saying?
Starting point is 01:06:00 But every once in a while, podcasts stuff catches on, you know, whatever. And so I'm like, what if we just went back and forth if anything resonates with us Let's talk about it more and if not, let's just be like great I can see why that did not make the list for the last three months. So um Something I wrote down a long time ago if you're not playing quip lash, what are you doing? I Love yeah, okay If you're not playing quit blush, what are you doing? It's a great game. Yeah
Starting point is 01:06:26 Okay, I'm gonna write this down. If you're not blank, then what are you doing? Fun new segment? Okay? Okay? We'll do that sometime great if you're not pretending to filter your water and give yourself a placebo effect And then what are you doing? What are you doing? I like that time. How often are you quippin? I feel like just anytime, anytime me and the boys are just like together for like some late evening, it'll happen typically. Really? I think quick latch is a good exercise to make you funnier too. Oh, like an improv game. It's like, I have to be funny right now. I have to. There are, there are some nights where it's like, um, just like cheap laughs versus like, uh, more clever stuff. Like just like some random inside joke or some, someone is the butt of the joke. And it's just like,
Starting point is 01:07:09 that would get you all the best, which is still so fun. So fun. And yeah, sometimes they're so bad that they're funny. Oh yeah. So yeah. Sometimes if you're smart enough, you spell something wrong, it looks accidental, but like it's like intentionally gets people. I don't know. Very good. All right. Mine is, is there any technology or app that you guys are around that you just kind of decided not to learn very much? Like you're kind of like, I'm done. I'm done learning new apps because mine is not completely. I know how to use it obviously, but like Spotify, I kind of in high school, I would have been so into Spotify.
Starting point is 01:07:47 I would have made a playlist for every occasion. I would have had all these things download and saved and exploring and whatever. Now Spotify, I'm just like, I know it has way more capabilities than I'm doing on it, but you're good with what you know how to do. I'm completely content listening to Drew Holcomb every other time I'm on. So you have anything like, same with like Snapchat. I don't even, I mean, I don't mess with that at all. Yeah, I'm done with that.
Starting point is 01:08:11 No more Snapchat. Yeah, I'm sure if I tried to download, redownload Snapchat right now, it would be a lot at once. Like, this is not how I remember it. There's too much going on. I can't think of anything off the fly on the, on the, off the, on top of my head. I think, yeah, I think I'm just good on apps. I don't, as far as social media goes,
Starting point is 01:08:28 I'm not gonna get any new ones. Be real, no thanks, I'm good. Yep. Okay. I was looking through my podcast notes, and so many, so much of what I like, write down to talk on podcasts is like stories from that week.
Starting point is 01:08:41 They're not really like observation based, so. No, that's fine. And so that, with that said, I don't know what most of these mean. based. So no, that's fine. So that with that said, I don't know what most of these mean. Oh, time change. No more jeans. I love, I love your notes. Like, yeah. Well, that week, I'm sure I know what that story was, but now I write down too much. If I ever have like a thing. Yeah, me too. Cause I don't want to forget it. Make sure to mention on the podcast. This is my note for this part of remember the story. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:07 Wait, is there any punctuation or just time change? No more time? No, there's no punctuation. Time change. No more genes. J E A N S. Yeah. So I don't know what that do you have genes? Do you own genes? Yeah. A few pairs of genes.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Are you wearing them? Not right now. Time change. Ever again. I'll wear jeans again. OK, so that's not what it means. Yeah. Time change, no more jeans. Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. That's mine. Well, there was one recently where you said something like, I don't know what that means, and somebody figured it out. Yeah, tearing down bridge. Yes, that's right. So maybe people will be like, I know exactly. No,
Starting point is 01:09:42 I know you, you meant you talked about time taint. No more jeans All right time your turn. I I don't have much I oh This is this took some courage to to eventually say a long time ago. I wrote down I was listening to old episodes I wrote down IP sitting down. Yeah Yeah, you're there. What is this quick trip has Sundays? They add they added like an ice cream Sunday ice creames and that was good. They're good. Yeah. Yeah I just put what are you putting on it? Typically get a caramel one if I ever work on ice cream look out I mean, it's they got some nuts they offer the nuts not that I've seen
Starting point is 01:10:21 Thanks, um, okay good to know yeah, How often are you ice cream in a quick trip? Not all too much. Yeah. But if I do, Sunday is a good option. They, Quiltrip is kind of their ice cream, like the cones used to be 49 cents, then 79, then 99. Now they're like a dollar twenty nine. What happened to this country?
Starting point is 01:10:41 Let's see. How old are you right now, Tyler? 18. How old were you in November? 18. OK, just you being in November? 18. Okay, just curious. Rock the vote. Yeah, all right. My next one is Hattie, just when Henry was first born,
Starting point is 01:10:55 I overheard her tell somebody, yeah, everyone's been saying he has a dark complexion, whatever that means. I thought that was pretty funny. She's like, I don't know what that means, but that's what everyone says about Henry. Everyone. That's kind of funny. It's kind of funny. Yeah. Whatever that means. Speaking of rocking the boat, I just got a notification.
Starting point is 01:11:19 New story just broke the federal reserve cut interest rates for the first time in four years. What does this mean for local ice cream? A quick trip is the second part of that line. Local ice cream going wild. So by the time this comes out, maybe the ice cream price is down. There you go. Next thing on my list,
Starting point is 01:11:33 most of my notes are cleared out. I think I do get around to most of them, but this says Caesar salad. Periods? No period. I don't know. You've been into Caesar. You went through the past year know. You've been into Caesar's. You went through Caesar's salad. I'd say this past year, I've really gotten into Caesar's salad.
Starting point is 01:11:46 Yeah. The next thing says recognized and magic trick. I actually think I know what this is referring to. I think this is when I went to Austin, Texas and did a Friday pickleball meetup. A guy recognized me from like, you know, stand up or jean shorts or something. And then it was also like, and you might have to do a magic trick for you right now. It was a fun combo. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:11:54 Do you think, dude, let's get a picture. And let's get a little more than that. I mean, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that.
Starting point is 01:12:02 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able was also like, and do you mind if I do a magic trick for you right now? It was a fun combo. Oh, wow. Like, dude, let's get a picture. And let's get a little more than that. And let me amaze you real quick. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:12 What, was it close magic? Yeah, I think it was some up close, some card magic. A calculator involved? No calc, no calc, just cards. He was a real deal, forget his name, but I follow him. Okay. Rick Smith. Rick Smith. David. David. David Copper. I don't remember. Copper something. I don't know. Time you got any more? Um, I wrote down awkward Friday paddle interaction. Oh, I think this is uh, what was it? It was just like I, we were driving by Meadowbrook.
Starting point is 01:12:47 This is like early on where it was like still pretty rare to like ever see Friday panel like in public. And so I think we just like, maybe we're like driving to leave or something. And I think my brother was, Jesse was just like, you should like say something like, like, oh, I know those, the guys that like do the videos for whatever. I, I can't remember this. This was the videos for whatever. I can't remember. This was a long time ago. I think it was just like she was just first she didn't hear me.
Starting point is 01:13:09 And then it was like, I guess, like, yeah, your paddle. I just whatever. And then I was like, just, ah, I have you ever seen like Friday, like the content? It's like, no, like just all right. All right. Get out. I won't see you later. Remember hating every second.
Starting point is 01:13:25 That's probably what that was. That's great. I just wrote down escape lounges at the airport. So escape room. That is why I wrote it down is because that exact, that's exactly what it sounds like. They're starting, there's a brand called Escape Lounge at the airport.
Starting point is 01:13:46 And I think the idea is like, oh, it's just an escape from reality. It's like a high-end lounge. But everyone that sees it is going to think there's an escape room at the airport, which is a better idea than calling it Escape Lounge. Right? Escape Lounge.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Yeah. Everyone hears escape and they're thinking of escape room. Oh yeah. So escape lounges. Ridiculous. On the same topic. GEHA, terrible name, terrible, terrible marketing, terrible, whatever. They own the rights.
Starting point is 01:14:18 It's Arrowhead Stadium is now called GEHA field at Arrowhead Stadium. No one in Kansas City or beyond knows what the heck GEHA does. It's a tough rebrand for anyone in professional sports. If someone has been called a certain thing for a long time, don't spend your money trying to rename it because they're gonna keep calling it that. I don't care if you rename it or not. I just care that I don't know anything about it
Starting point is 01:14:40 and I'm the biggest fan of their team. Like, that's ridiculous. Like at least like show us who you are or something. I think it's healthcare or something, but it's like, they don't, it's called G E H A. That's not an obvious like, oh, the H A probably stands for home alliance. I don't know what it stands for.
Starting point is 01:14:58 I don't know if I should pronounce it gay-ha or if I should do the letters. Also saying G E H-H-A. G-E-H-A, slow. It's the Brita filter of speaking. G-H does flop the tongue. G-H! Yeah, a little bit easier.
Starting point is 01:15:14 It's terrible. So think about G-H-A. Think about a G-E-H-A. Terrible. Next on my list, it says wacky Wednesday. Gonna move on from that. I don't know what it means. Next says laundry shoot. Next, after that, this is pretty far down,
Starting point is 01:15:34 cause I actually do think I know what this is referring to. It says janitor who has a hundred animals. This is so old that I'm pretty sure this is referencing my ex-girlfriend Megan. I'm pretty sure she worked at a school and there was a janitor who would always come up to her and this janitor had like her own zoo at her house and like the stories she was telling,
Starting point is 01:15:51 yeah, Ferret got out and just like, how will it? So at the time I think I had like specific stories of like what this janitor had told her. It was pretty entertaining. You should have done that one that week. That sounds hilarious. I know, I don't know why I never got around to that. But every day it was like, all right,
Starting point is 01:16:04 what did the janitor tell you today? It was like meerkat for the first, I know she had a meerkat and like she mentioned it today. It's like, that's kind of awesome. Not as fun as wacky Wednesday. Uh, timing. Um, I don't know when this was, but it says discovered allergies and may never go outside again. I don't know if I talked about it then, but it was like the first year I've ever had allergies. Yeah. You just like grew into them. This is why people talk about how they hate them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree. I'm not like a big allergies guy, but every once in a while when you get them, it's like,
Starting point is 01:16:34 this is miserable. I understand why people don't like them. I have a few poultry that I wrote down. One of them is when Jake, when you left our family cell phone plan, you made our cell phone bill go up by 28 cents. Did I really? You jerk. Dang. So that's too bad. Apparently I didn't fully leave it because your aunt just texted me that I still owe her money.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Oh yeah, she texted me like, FYI, you're gonna have to pay more money on something. I was like, are you sure? What's that? And she's like, oh, nope, that was Jake. Just kidding. Yeah, can't get out. Great.
Starting point is 01:17:03 And then second poultry is just the idea of boring brands these days that have cool logos. Every once in a while, I'll be driving, especially on these trips where I've been driving a lot. And it's like, well, that's a cool looking brand. And then you realize it's for a plumbing company. Carpet cleaning. It's like that, you fooled me with that one.
Starting point is 01:17:22 We wasted the good design on you. 100%, dude. It's like, that is way too cool of a design. That needs to be like a merch, like clothing brand or cool sports bar. Not Jesse Imps should be in. Yeah. Not a roofing company. Not roofing. Not roofing. Those are wolf on the roof. Oh, dude. One of the hardest I've laughed ever at one of your videos
Starting point is 01:17:44 is you trying to say that. That was a good time. That was a fun day. There was a woof on the roof. There was a woof on the roof. Anyway, some poultry for you. Next, I promise I'm not making this up. This is in my notes.
Starting point is 01:17:54 It says coffee shops. Thoughts? Coffee shops. Coffee shops. They're great. But underneath that is something, maybe I've said in the podcast before, just a little observation, I guess.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Every guy in 1922 is named John and looks exactly the same. 1922? Yeah. I don't know what I saw that week to make me say that. Probably some documentary. Yeah. Just they were all named John. A lot of Johns.
Starting point is 01:18:16 Even in like Disney movies back in the day, it was like John, Michael. John Smith, Pocahontas. John Smith. Yep. All those things. Wacky Wednesday. Todd, you got any more? I saw a meme that I thought was pretty funny
Starting point is 01:18:29 and I liked it. Then I saw it had 30 hashtags in the caption and I didn't, and I unliked it. Oh. Because that was annoying. You're like, nice try buddy. Yeah, you know, you're trying too hard actually. And now I don't want to support you.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Yeah. That's good. Thanks. I just wrote down this, we haven't started yet, but I heard this idea of kids gigs, is what it was called. But basically like the idea of teaching your kids about money through giving them responsibilities
Starting point is 01:18:58 slash opportunities to make money at home. Like the idea of, first of all, like establishing a little bit of tension by making your kids pay for certain things, which is kind of crazy sounding for a seven-year-old. But like, hey, make Hattie pay for her own, you know, if she, Gotta pay rent.
Starting point is 01:19:14 Yeah, just whatever. Yeah, like if she wants to go to this birthday party, she has to buy a birthday present for her friend or something like that. But then give her opportunities where it's like, hey, unlimited potential. You can make as much money as you want to. Here's the list of things and here's how much you can get paid for them. And you can do these as much as you want and try to
Starting point is 01:19:33 teach her the idea of like, if you create value for our family, if you create value for the community or your friends or your whoever, then you deserve to get paid for it kind of thing. Yeah. Even teaching the basics of supply and demand. Yeah, sure. That's great. And hopefully she would learn from that, okay, yeah, I could work, I could do all this stuff, I could clean the house, I could, you know, whatever, but that's gonna take a lot of my time.
Starting point is 01:19:56 And I don't know if I wanna spend all that time, maybe I wanna play some. And then you realize like, yeah, time is money. Yeah, right, it's like, that's fair. Even opportunity cost of like, I wanna clean the basement, but I'm only going to get paid 50 cents for that. And that takes me like an hour. Right. Or I could dust upstairs and get paid the same and it takes less time or something. Yeah, I could do this really nasty job in the attic that is going to give me three dollars, but it's pretty gross. Or I could do this easier job that might take longer for a dollar.
Starting point is 01:20:22 Like, yeah, all of a sudden, all these different things. So kids gigs, I kind of floated the idea to Hattie recently, but, because I love the idea of like, listen, if you help mom and I, if you alleviate a problem for mom, like Catherine, yeah, she's a mom of four. She has plenty of responsibilities that I'm like, Hattie could do that. We could teach Hattie how to fold clothes.
Starting point is 01:20:43 And like, then all of a sudden, she's not having to worry about the laundry as much as she can do more things. And yeah, we'll pay Hattie for that. Or I had the thought of like every I've actually already started doing this. But every time Hattie reads a chapter book, I give her a dollar. Nice. Because it's like I'm not going to give her a dollar for every, you know, small book she reads. But like she was a chapter book, that's well worth a dollar if she can learn how to read. Good job. So, that's nice. I found some that make a little more sense a little more recent. I remember just being upset at the airport recently. I wrote down miracles happening everywhere
Starting point is 01:21:17 because I'm seeing a lot of people getting pushed around in wheelchairs. It's time to get on that flight. They hop right up, they're walking in, they're standing just fine, get to their seat, get off the airplane, get back in a wheelchair. I think, wow, this is crazy. They're just standing up and walking. I mean, there's so many miracles happening. That's insane. It's like the office where he's like, was that Phyllis's dad? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:38 This, this is, yeah. I don't think I ever mentioned that one night where Rachel and I got hooked up with Dana and Shay tickets. I don't think I mentioned that when we were backstage with Shay Mooney, like the whole Kid City Royals team came back there. And so we got to meet like Bobby Witt and like some of the Royals players. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:56 A lot of them were back there. That's pretty cool. That was kind of fun. They also look so young and so just like, exactly like the SBU baseball team. Just like they're all wearing hats. They all look really young. They're all like kind of like my complexion.
Starting point is 01:22:10 They've got like long hair coming out the back and then they'll have like a gold necklace on. Right, baseball players have it. Just like baseball bros. Yeah. Yeah, even when they're not in the diamond, they look like baseball players. 100%.
Starting point is 01:22:21 Way more than basketball football guys do. Tommy, you got any? example example of me writing down Much more instead of much less like Jake and there's also reason I never brought this up because it doesn't it's It says going on a walk passing elderly neighbor man trying to decide if we're gonna give each other a friendly hello Fairly last minute I decide I'm gonna do it So I look up and try to make eye contact he keeps looking straight ahead, but I last minute I decide I'm gonna do it. So I look up and try to make eye contact. He keeps looking straight ahead, but I know he can tell I'm looking. I look away because it feels weird. I go in for round two because at this point
Starting point is 01:22:54 I'm committed. He still doesn't look. I stare intently at him. As I look away after we pass, I realize it just looks like I've been staring this guy down. I never said anything and he probably thinks I'm weirdo. This used to bother me in college. People like run a small sidewalk and they just act like they look straight ahead. That's not how you walk. That's not how you look.
Starting point is 01:23:12 Look at me. I'm not gonna ask too much of you. Just like stop. Just a quick acknowledgement. I had something in my notes. I wrote down confident walk, wave, stare down. But basically I just wave at people like as I'm passing them,
Starting point is 01:23:24 if they're in their yard doing work, one of these just a nice like just a nice I'm throwing my hand out there. How are you? And this guy just looked at me like I should he should know me or just like and he just looked at me for too long. I was like stop please I'm just trying to say hi to you. I don't want this much. So I hear you timing. Thanks. Um, my brother-in-law Sam shout out Sam Hansen Just follow me on letterbox. Look out go he Had in his house apparently a bunch of exploding light bulbs
Starting point is 01:23:56 Oh, wow, just as as you know in the kitchen He had a newborn kid was I feel bad like what if this kids, you know trying to sleep or something? Yeah, he's like some kind of defect in the, I don't know if it was the light bulbs or in the fixture or whatever, but out of nowhere, he's like, yeah, every once in a while they would just explode. And it was terrifying. That'd be so loud. It's scary.
Starting point is 01:24:15 Imagine like you're just, you know, watching TV. Oh, a scary movie. Lightbulb shatters above you. Oh, that's annoying. The glass cleanup too. Right. Speaking of defective light bulbs, have you seen like a lot of like downtown areas,
Starting point is 01:24:26 Kansas City, highways, they have streetlights that are purple? What's that? So I thought I was like, you know what, this must be kind of the new way of all the new streetlights are getting purple lights. Maybe there's something you can actually see better at night. I kind of like the purple.
Starting point is 01:24:39 It made me feel cool. Go ahead. Come to find out this is not on purpose. These light bulbs are like delaminating. Like something is happening to them. It's a defect in the light. And so when the yellow or the white light goes out, it turns purple.
Starting point is 01:24:51 So it's such a strange phenomenon. And like over time, this is what's happening. But also every time you see a purple light, it's like the city like really taking their time changing that light bulb. It's like not gonna, it's not changing anytime soon. Yeah, it's gotta be purple forever. Yeah, right. Like they clearly, they have visual evidence
Starting point is 01:25:08 that it's defective and they haven't changed it yet. How hard is it to change that one of those bad boys? No one's, I've never done it. I've never seen one be changed. I don't know, would they use a crane? Maybe like some sort of primate, a well-trained primate to climb up. That'd be pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:25:23 How many monkeys would take to change a light bulb? It's a big old ladder Big lad. I don't think I've seen purple. I've seen blue Maybe that's the same thing. He's talking about. Oh, it's very blue downtown Not downtown. I'm not downtown much. I'm thinking a LASA 169th or something like that. Whatever that is Oh, there's something by the quick trip there. I yeah, I thought they were intentional. Well, I was like, why would they intentionally do every so often? Yeah, it's just like that one randomly and then everything else is normal. Sums up pretty weird.
Starting point is 01:25:53 What do you think the difference between a client and a customer is? I use them interchangeably. Whatever mood you're in. Yeah. But doesn't client sound more like a little more like legal accounting? Yeah. Brought on a new client. You don't bring on a new customer. Right. Like make a sale to a new customer. Like, like, yeah. Yeah. Yes. I think.
Starting point is 01:26:13 Would you call Friday Pickleball people that buy your stuff clients? No, I would call them because they're just a one time transactional thing. Yeah. Yeah. OK. Thank you. I've got a bunch of nonsense on here. I'll just kind of wrap it up for me because I actually know what this is talking about Rachel and I share a chat GPT account, which is kind of fun Okay, cuz I'm doing 99% of the prompts in here and so she gets to sell mine But there was one that I saw for her one day. This is back in March. That's how long I didn't say this Rachel prompted chat GPT,
Starting point is 01:26:46 what would my color season be according to the colors of my hair, eyes and skin? And so it says skin, ECBCA9, eyes 575. Like she went in and found all this info about the exact color of all these things about her. She entered that and then Chad GPT is like, well, your seasonal analysis is for skin, it's warm, light beige, light peachy tone.
Starting point is 01:27:08 If your eyes medium to grayish blue, leans towards cool speck, all the stuff. I just, so fascinating and also just such a girl thing. Like that girl's like, I wanna get a seasonal analysis done. I wanna get my colors done. That's like a business now. Have you heard about this?
Starting point is 01:27:21 Rachel kind of told me about it back in March, but I said, fooey. Or what's it, hooey? A bunch of hooey. That's a bunch of now. Have you heard about this? Rachel kind of told me about it back in March, but I said, fooey or what's it? Hooey? A bunch of hooey. That's a bunch of hooey. Tooey. Grass. Tooey.
Starting point is 01:27:32 Tooey. Tooey. Tooey. That's tooey blades. Yeah, dude. Like, like Catherine, I don't, I don't know how serious she was about it, but she was like talking about like, yeah, you can hire somebody to basically like look at you and tell you what clothes would look good on you or something. This is your color palette. So it sounds like
Starting point is 01:27:48 you can just do it for you. Yeah. Sounds like Rachel saving you a bunch of money. The warm tones in your hair and skin suggest affinity towards spring or autumn, but the cool tone in your eyes, it's it. This sounds like a psychic, like, well, you're gonna have some good things happening on, but they're gonna be some bad too. Right. Yeah. You're gonna have some ups. You're gonna look pretty good in the fall But actually spring might be nice for you and you're gonna enjoy when the summertime comes around But who doesn't love a nice cozy sweater and winter you're gonna look great in it because of your eyes Yeah, that's good
Starting point is 01:28:18 Alright time you got any more I'll wrap up. Um, this can be my last one Jake. Have you seen the Sherman show yet? No Darn dang watch. Watch it. You know, next week, starting this Saturday, Rachel picked up a... So she used to nanny when she wasn't working for this family. They asked her like, hey, we're going to Europe for like nine days. Do you want a nanny for us? Nice. Rachel, who can't say no to anything, is like, yeah, I'll do that on top of my job. So she is like working there. Like as soon as she's done with school,
Starting point is 01:28:46 she's going to be a full-time mania for them. Like picking kids up from school, staying with them, cooking meals for them. And so I'll go for, I mean, some of it, I think, but I won't be there all the time. So true major time is what I'm saying. But to have a lot of time to myself. Let us know.
Starting point is 01:28:59 Oh yeah. I'll watch with you. I'm down. Party. That would be so fun. Kids, we'll bring the kids in too. Yeah. I mean, it's time she saw it. Yeah, that's right. It'll get you thinking. That'd be so fun. Red Robin and Troom. Oh, yeah. That's true. The Troom. Let's let's trim it up.
Starting point is 01:29:18 I'm on Troom's. All right. Tripping Troom's. I just have I just have kids updates real quick. Just about everybody just it's more of like a time capsule for me Than anything. I don't know how much of this you guys know. Maybe I've already said some of these but Rosie Do you know that we're calling her Doty? Is that a thing? Have you heard this? I haven't heard that. I've seen it in real life I don't know if you type out in the podcast. So like since she's two she she has she talks so much Like you should have heard her like for 15 seconds today, this morning. She's like, what are the buzzes about? I mean, like that for 15. It was like, she was saying a whole story and there were no words. Like, and it's a girl from
Starting point is 01:29:57 it. So yeah, you know, whatever. But yeah, so the way she says her name, she says it Dody. And so now it's become like a thing, especially mainly with Hattie. Hattie is like a nickname person. I've noticed that. Have you?
Starting point is 01:30:19 Yeah. Oh yeah, Dode, Dody, like all these different things, which is so fun. And. Bowie. Bowie, yeah, Bowie, like all these different things, which is so fun. And Bowie, Bowie. Yeah, Bowie's a big one. Henny Penny, he calls Henry sometimes. Henny Penny, Henny Penny or Hens. And then now, or Bow calls Hattie hats a lot.
Starting point is 01:30:38 Oh, nice hats. Come on, hats. Anyway. And then Rosie's whole thing. So like I do this a lot, you know, cause of my middle school, sorry, high school principal taught everyone how to do love you always in, in, um, sign language first day of high school. And so I do that with my kids every single night. Um, and with Rosie, I say, love you anytime, anytime I say love you, she always responds always. That's nice. Always. Even like, you know, going to bed. I love you. She'll be like, always, always, always. Dodie.
Starting point is 01:31:10 Dodie. Dodie. Dodie. Dodie. Dodie. Dodie. Anyway, so Rosie's awesome. Henry's just smiling a bunch, man.
Starting point is 01:31:18 So fun. Loves music right now. Like, oh cool. And so just blast and Drew, drew Holcomb, man. He's a big drew Holcomb guy. So he's in the swing and he just kicking his legs, bouncing up and down to all the music. Um, Bo, Bo's got a lot of stuff for him getting into football right now, starting soccer. He loves the buttercream gang just wants to like, like I have, like we watched it on YouTube, like the whole thing. And so I have the video access, but we just listen to it in the car.
Starting point is 01:31:47 It's we literally listen to the movie because I don't want to just be watching stuff in the car. It's going to be a core memory for him. He's going to have this movie. It's so funny. Even like this morning. Can we listen to the buttercream gang? Like, sure. But he's also very like engineer minded, which is really fun. Like today he wanted to climb the fit or climb the tree. And so he got out his stool, but it was too short. So he has, I need a different stool.
Starting point is 01:32:09 Apple bucks. Yeah. Stool is not working. Yeah. And then he's like, maybe, maybe I should get a ladder. And then he got a ladder. He's like, but the ladder needs like, it's almost like we need a bridge. So dad, we need to get a bridge. We need to nail it to the tree.
Starting point is 01:32:19 You know, he's just like thinking that way. It's not just like, I guess I can't climb the ladder. Yes or no. It's like, how do I I how do I figure out how to do this? Which is pretty fun to watch Him be creative with that and then last thing with Bo I picked him up from Mother's day out yesterday and I asked him do you have any friends? What were your friends? He's like, I don't know Brooks is I have a guy named Brooks. He's like a bee friend But we're not real friends. We just both start with B. I'm like, good one. I was like, but you know, bro, you can have as many friends as you want. Like you can have a hundred friends. He's like, no, I'm sticking with the friends I got.
Starting point is 01:32:56 I'm good. Thanks, dad. It was pretty funny. I'm sticking with the friends I got. Nice try. So yeah. And then Hattie, um, we recently started doing CC, uh, classical conversations, which is a homeschool thing. I can talk about that another time, but, uh, once a week they go to CC and apparently one of the times she had a really bad time because they did work, they did like, uh, exercise at one point and they did burpees. Oh, she thinks burpees are like hell on earth. Like she's like, like she talks about it still like, yeah, they said we're not going to have to do burpees next week. So I'm excited to go back.
Starting point is 01:33:30 That'll be fun. I mean, I guess they just did stuff, probably just like, Hey, let's work out some energy here. But she just absolutely hated it. I get it. Addy burpees ain't fun burpees ain't fun. But she's growing up. She biked the park the other day by her.
Starting point is 01:33:43 I mean, I was walking with her, but she biked all the way there. to the park the other day by herself. I mean, I was walking with her, but she biked all the way there. I let her cross the street by herself. I was like, you let me know when it's time to go. Yeah. And we'll go. And she said, okay, I think we're ready. We went and so she's reading like crazy,
Starting point is 01:33:56 having a bunch of fun. So that's the parenting or the kids update for you. So, and that's been clearing out my notes. Clearing out the notes. If you're not clearing out your notes And what are you doing? Shall we do shall we clear out our wins of the week clear out some wins of the week, baby? Yeah, it is Wednesday. It's gonna tell you a little win of the week You got one
Starting point is 01:34:17 I have another thing that on my notes that Was a win a few days a few weeks, back when it was still warm or summer, we had our pool out and I had the idea of making something called the USS Ellis. Okay. And I took a bunch of the five gallon water jugs that were empty and I taped them together and made a big boat on them.
Starting point is 01:34:39 Oh. And I had us all write our names on it. They called the USS Ellis. And so they would get on there and it was not very stable. So they would fall over and stuff. They had a blast. It was awesome. So one of the week, retroactively USS Ellis.
Starting point is 01:34:52 Every now and then I do something like that for a recon class when I teach it at Canna Cook, where I just go to the kitchen and grab all their old cardboard. I'd grab like a couple of trash bags and give each team a roll of duct tape. It's like make a boat. Figure it out.
Starting point is 01:35:04 Docking back, who can do it? Right. Yeah, it's such fun creativity. Yeah, so fun. One out of every five kids is like engineering enough to figure it out. Kids can help. They can watch.
Starting point is 01:35:15 It's a good job with that tape. Let them watch. My one of the week is gonna be, I mean, the amount of like scary mail I get all the time, I hate it. Just like the different businesses I have, the different LLCs I have, shout out Connor Kelderman. He's my win of the week
Starting point is 01:35:31 because I got another piece of mail. I mean, probably once every, I don't know, 15 days, I have to text Connor a piece of mail I got and I'm like, oh boy, what's this? You know, I'm behind on this. I need to owe the money this. In three out of four times, he's like, I don't need to worry about that.
Starting point is 01:35:44 I'm like, that's awesome. Okay. Great. You know, Rachel was like, I don't know how we don't have to worry about it. It looks so official and so scary. But this one, this was a new one, the Kansas Department of Revenue. This was for my Bondi LLC.
Starting point is 01:35:57 I don't get a lot of mail for that since it's not a business and never will be. But it was like, hey, we've received reports that you've been operating your business and we know that you've been charging sales tax, you need to pay your sales tax, you're actually overdue paying it. Very scary piece of mail and it says,
Starting point is 01:36:16 so you could pay us right now, it's gonna be $2,753. They just estimated it. And I'm going, no, no, no, no, no. How do we owe 27, we did one day in the park. Yeah, right. Wait, there's no way that's more money than we made I don't think that exists, but maybe it's cuz I'm overdue. Oh Geez, you know send it to Connor and of course that sweet sweet Connor text. No worries. Don't worry about it Oh, he set the whole thing up paid $90. Yeah. Hey, hey, we're in there. That's yeah, you're right They were just like you've been in business for a while
Starting point is 01:36:45 You probably always 27. That's so scary. If you don't have a personal accountant. What do you do? You just pay the government 27 I guess I did this. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, I don't like it. Oh, yeah, I've had I've had those I hate it actually I'm tired of it We should just start making our home address Connors home address. Just go straight to him Yeah, I got stuff still going to my old address. Isaac sent me at that. And that's when it goes to that address, it's usually bad news. Those are the one and four where Connors like you got to pay that.
Starting point is 01:37:12 Yeah. That's 2022 income tax. Yeah. You pay that. That's that's necessary. Yeah. Okey dokey. Time in.
Starting point is 01:37:18 You got to win. Yeah. I think this is kind of random. It's not like a crazy thing, but just in so in Branson when we're trying to like wait for Jake to come to the mile run the mile randomly like share my location then you show yours back. I was like, okay, we're like we're like that now. Oh yeah. And then yesterday I was like, Brad, you find my friends guy kind of in reference to that. You had a friend that said that? Yeah. Yeah. I didn't know if you
Starting point is 01:37:44 remembered that. Oh yeah. Okay. Good job. So now said that? Yeah, yeah. I didn't know if you remembered that. Oh, yeah Okay, good job. So now we're find my friend the buds. I almost did. How did I respond? I didn't even think about that. What did you say? Because in my head I was going to respond with I'm gonna find my friend's guy with my friends and then I was gonna respond and share with you because we're friends Let me see. But I probably just said big time or something like that. There he is. Time and image. You said, oh, big time. Yeah. Shawnee, Kansas.
Starting point is 01:38:08 That's fun. That is a fun little win. Yeah. And we did find each other in the parking lot. Worked out. Yep. All right. Comments.
Starting point is 01:38:18 Yeah. I have going from Samuel sin from last Wednesday. He says, damn, this was a great day. And yeah, right now we're talking, kind of scared me when I first saw the comments. I was like, take it easy, Samuel. But yeah, basing off of time and saying, it was just a damp day.
Starting point is 01:38:34 He wrote a water ride early. So Samuel sin is good to see in person. Samuel sin's been all over the place with the hands emojis and then the up arrow doing like the emoji version of this, of raising the roof. So great, great two comments back to back. Samuel sin bummer that you're out of the guillotine league.
Starting point is 01:38:51 He saw it coming. I'll say that much. He's done three years. He's made it a total of eight weeks. It's hilarious. It's not trying. It's not because he's not really unlucky. Drafting Jake, Drake may was a bit of a mistake, but really Josh Allen screwed him.
Starting point is 01:39:08 My comment of the week is coming from Bennett M. At Ghost Reigns Podcast, it was a pleasure working with you guys. If you need a lighting guy, let me know. Our boy Bennett. My man Bennett, dude. Bennett, the tech guy, sound guy, everything for us at Silver Dollar Sitting. He did great.
Starting point is 01:39:22 I was so impressed with every event was set up differently, like set up well. Like he would restage. Yeah, restage is a good word for it. So before my dad and uncle John came up, I asked Ben, I was like, hey, I can help you do it, but can we get them some monitors? Cause they're gonna need to hear themselves or else
Starting point is 01:39:40 who knows how that's gonna go. And so he's like, yeah, we can do that. Awesome. Figured it out. He's the man so fun timing Tienes el commento see how to do. Um, I don't know about commento maybe Just a random one. Natalia Elizabeth commented time and Arby's sauce is good Take it take a win when he get him. That's right, and I agree Arby's sauce. So. You take a win when you get them. That's right. And I agree. Arby's sauce is just good.
