Starting point is 00:00:00 Happy Wednesday ghosties uh Jake will wills back. We back Fun thing that Rosie's been doing recently Rosie just so fun in general Two things really first thing she does is she'll say yep, or nope a lot But it's like she puts an extra P at the end of both of them like she really puts that P on there like nope Or yep So funny it's like Rosie did you did you just get water all over the floor yep not good but the other thing did the other thing she's been doing a lot lately which is awesome and I've
Starting point is 00:00:39 started maybe it's because of me I don't know but she'll just say she'll say something and just say that's how you do it at the end. So that's how you do it. Like she'll like do some trick in the pool and she'll get up and be like, oh anyway dad, so that's how you do it. She'd tell me I got that from you. You think so?
Starting point is 00:00:55 That's how you do it. That's how it's done, yeah. That is pencil dive, that's how you do it. I just, I mean, she'll do that, like she'll sing a song and then at the end of it she'll be like, so that's how you do it. I just I mean she'll do that like she'll sing a song and then at the end of it She'll be like so that's how you do it. I Just love that so much. So anyway, this has been an intro. That's how you do it. That's how you do it That's how you do it I think this type means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white me to Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat so come along
Starting point is 00:01:25 Let's have some fun and go ahead get on your feet because it's a ghost from the spot Happy Wednesday Random question for you guys. Yeah, I had this thought at church the other day I said do you think heaven will have a highlight real room to watch the most iconic moments in history? Oh stop I have had this theory for years. Really? I've told friends about it. I've called it highlight room. Yeah dude and not just like highlights of history, but like just highlights of like things in your life that no one ever saw. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Dude, I have like, you know, like a fork falls off the counter and I catch it. And it's just like, there will be a day where like I will show, you know, that kind of stuff. It's like, oh, someone could have seen that. Yeah. You know. So when I've thought about stuff like this, what I want to know
Starting point is 00:02:24 is like in This this is probably more unlikely to happen to heaven, but it's like Happenstances are things like oh you didn't know this but you and Rachel were in the same mall at the same time in spring Go in 2012 if they things like that like that's the that's what I want to know coincidence types or would you ever want to know? like hey fyi You you met a murderer you had a thought towards Rachel, and you didn't say it And if you would have said it you guys wouldn't have gotten married That doesn't sound as fun. That's somebody I know I effect types. I know it's like it's like hey fyi you Pretty close to not marrying yeah Catherine you guys of this thing yeah, you left five minutes later
Starting point is 00:03:01 And that's that's why you got hired at canna cuck whoa Or hey you remember when you ran that red light? Yeah. You're welcome. You chose to do public speaking at 730 AM on a Monday and that was a terrible decision you thought, but really it affected this, which affected that, which affected that, that made you decide to join this club that then made you into a podcaster. What if?
Starting point is 00:03:24 Right? All those things. I like, I really like the highlight room for the entire timeline of civilization. Well, like, let's go see what that burning bush looked like. No, genuinely. My first thought was I would love to see God speak the earth into existence. But yeah, like how you say big bang, I said Big God. That will I mean that will know Joe White. Will White. Yeah. Yeah. Will's worried about like catching forks. I'm like, I want to see the stars, man. Yeah. I imagine it looks a lot like an NFL film room where we're all sitting there.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Yeah. Like there's like a projector kind of like right above our heads. Like Brad, you see that play? Yeah. Pause. Break it down. He's a pause. He's got a laser pointer. You see how I pointed there? That was the Milky Way. That's Canis Major. I thought about making this one the sun.
Starting point is 00:04:14 And then I figured it wouldn't work out. It's still a good star. Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful star. I don't know. All those different things well Can you think of anything that would be in your highlight reel like something like my personal or I cuz I'm trying to think Yeah, anything over the course of time
Starting point is 00:04:34 Um I think like I don't know some I feel like some dinosaur action would be yeah back in what like You know what I mean of just like some just real like all we've got to go off is Jurassic Park. You know it in terms of Visualization archaeologists have been digging for hundreds of years and all we have is Jurassic Park That's the craziest part right we have nothing empirical to go off of it's a couple Steven Spielberg It's like what's England like I know all we have to go on is Harry Potter So Spielberg's like so I can do anything I want with these fossils what if t-rexes were like really nice like yeah Yeah, they barked like dogs. You know it's her. I don't know yeah All we have is Jurassic Park
Starting point is 00:05:22 No, I Signs are actors would be dope dinosaurs be dope the flood any miracle flood would be good wild I want to see like uh People who lived really long Methuselah What did he look like at 700 great question like did he did it was 400 to 800 just basically like your old his 40s Yeah, or whatever yeah thinking it looks like the like the brown worm from SpongeBob. I love chocolate I remember when they first invented chocolate the last thousand years of his life. He's just brutally old the whole time Like how close do you think Abraham really got to slice an Isaac? Have you ever seen those reels of that like people will kind of like Abraham and Isaac on their way back down the
Starting point is 00:06:06 mountain Abraham's like We're good now though right like we're good. I didn't do it. You're not gonna tell your mom about There's a boy's trip, huh, I Don't know this guy's name, but there is a guy who I feel like is so funny recently He's the guy who did the the one trying to explain the idea of a yo-yo. Have you guys seen that video? He's like, it goes, it goes down and then. It back up. He had some really funny videos.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Anyway, anything else in the highlight room? Sure. I'm sure. I mean, just all the, thatred good. I want a miracle room basically And I know hey Friday night. We're new pizza and miracle night. Yes, dude And you get there. It's like you get there. It's the hockey movie. It's like this is crap. It's Kurt Russell. Yeah Read the pamphlet wrong Thought it was gonna be Lazarus miracles. No, it's a miracle. Yeah miracles night last week Who do you play for? Yeah, what's this just like an arena full of like what hundred thousand people? I don't want this violent
Starting point is 00:07:14 Just wisecracking throughout the whole thing a willing not tonight. All right Brad uh Yeah, I think Yeah water and and wine. Got to see it. Lazarus. OK, yeah, you guys are going biblical here. Tower of Battle.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I'm talking like Abraham Lincoln. Yeah, like Stonehenge would love to know. Easter Island. Yeah. Or do you care? Mids Easter Island was that? It's like those crazy long, the weird faces that are in the ground. You seen those? I don't think I have. Look them up real quick. OK. Yeah, it's it's similar to Stonehenge, where it's like those crazy long the weird faces that are in the ground you seen those I don't think I have them up real quick. Okay. Yeah, it's it's similar a Stonehenge where it's like how do these get here?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yeah, oh, yes, okay Yeah, I think yeah. Yeah, have you heard of like like Abraham Abraham Lincoln's like The lost speech have you heard of that? Yeah, there's like one speech that was important like incredibly pivotal in like his political career and like the course of the United States and like it's the it's one of his only speeches that is like lost gone forever, not recorded. Oh, yeah. Gone forever. No one knows what it was. But go off. Yeah. Well, so there's some like, yeah, kind of like near term history. But but the big ones. Yeah, like the pyramids or yeah, might take a while for that one. Watch or even just like some of the first like human like not human, like Native American
Starting point is 00:08:33 interaction would be like fascinating. Yeah, Plymouth. Why do you say not human? Yeah, you're talking like evolution, like stuff. What early humans? Wow, dude. I mean, yeah, sure. Enter that in there, too. Let's get to the bottom of that while we're at it.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Yeah. Dude, I saw a video yesterday of a chimpanzee with alopecia. It's so you get to see like their muscles or anything. First of all, they're like so jacked. They have like no body fat. Oh, it is kind of crazy looking at
Starting point is 00:09:01 it. It's like they have triceps like us. Their elbow, their forearm, like a lot of it looks like us And then you get to some other parts in it does but the arms and the fingers are remarkable Pretty much everything else is hard to look at yeah, they are crazy Jack though. Yeah, you looking at it right now Yeah, I love P ship. I'm just I'm just chimp going through Google images of yeah all of them. They're just Some of them are look a little off. Yeah, they have alopecia. I know but their faces some of these don't look like normal chimpanzees
Starting point is 00:09:33 Pretty much all of them alopecia doesn't mess up your like like their faces like to form to though that needs to be the next Planet of the apes installment they all have a planet of the peach Just like apes installment they all have a planet of the peach Have to save the princess and the Lily peaches man I feel like they're yeah, I feel like we're missing a lot on the highlight reel. I'd say so there's a lot of history Yeah, I don't know. I mean well Chamberlain's hundred-point game That's a big talk of things that no one can see. You guys were listening to This American Life.
Starting point is 00:10:08 No, I used to. Yeah. When I first started listening to podcasts and I have anymore. But yeah, probably like twenty seventeen. I was in this podcast and was talking about like, which who knows how well I'm going to be a retail podcast episode from this long ago. But it was talking about like social norms and like social pressure to fit in. So it gave a few examples in history that case studies, but one of them was Wilt Chamberlain
Starting point is 00:10:28 because as the story goes, apparently Wilt Chamberlain as a career free throw shooter was like 40% from the line. And because he knew that game wasn't going to be televised, he shot grainy style and he shot like 90% from the line that night. That's right. But he, because he was so like Nervous about being made fun of even though it would have made him a much better player and scorer He still refused to shoot granny style and televised games and he still
Starting point is 00:10:54 Scored a million points and he scored in a lot of ways Yes, you did a lot of me. I can see that. Yeah rock chalk, baby I can see that. Yeah. Rock chalk, baby. Right. Oh, my. Yeah, that is. I remember you telling me that because then I told you the fact about how he used to jump on his free throws, like do a dunk. Remember that?
Starting point is 00:11:16 It's not allowed. Exactly. Because of him. Oh, they used to go and just take off. He used to go to the half court and run up and dunk it like from the like jump from behind the free throw line and dunk it every time. I'll take that in the highlight reel room. Yes, just every time for one point you just dunk it. I'll throw something else in the highlight reel room. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Michael Jordan at the stage when he got cut like what ninth grade or whatever. I don't know how good he was when he got cut. Was there promise there? Was there some raw athleticism we missed out on also? I think I think that narrative talk about a narrative It's like he didn't make varsity he but he was on JV still right okay, so he still played ball Uh is that what you guys under do you do you know that well? I feel like the line traditionally is that he got cut from his freshman team I think he was just like a sophomore that didn't make varsity or something like that Maybe it was I don't know fact-check it. Yeah, I'll fact-check real quick. Yeah
Starting point is 00:12:10 Michael didn't happen that long ago really be able to know that it cut from his high school basketball team Yes, true that Michael Jordan was cut from his high school varsity basketball team during his sophomore year He was deemed too short instead of the varsity team. He was placed on the junior varsity team Yeah, oh, so he perched had the same exact high school Everyone has oh, yeah D1 athlete yeah like I'd still throw it in the highlight room. Let's see yeah true short I mean talk about like you watch that last dance where he like Used everything as fuel like I took that personal. I made that person like it became personal. It's like okay
Starting point is 00:12:42 You made JV dude. I would love to have made JV. I Got cut from freshman year. Yeah It's crazy. I was kind of in terms of like American history and going off of coming up on big 250 next summer Big 250 big 250 dude. That is just not a sorry. I had this conversation with someone the other day like that is three 83 year olds Yeah, like America's pretty young. Yes. Yeah, three eighty three year olds 1776 like a three year old a three year old a three year old and we're here your grandparents It's gonna be putting it your grandparents know somebody if they're still alive that knew that I don't know how old
Starting point is 00:13:20 Let's just say let's say your grandparents. Yeah, they're 80 years old. Yeah, 160 years old Like that's a long time ago that like what was going on in America 160 years ago man's a page exactly lost speeches speech I Heard someone is like doing some sort of I think it's a maybe it's a Broadway play But it's from the perspective of Mary Lincoln and she was like secretly excited. He got assassinated Whoa, like the perspective of like I think it's a comedy, but then they're all doing it. Yeah, it's a wrap They're not throwing they you are throwing away that shot. Yeah
Starting point is 00:13:58 Really that's like the conspiracy these days is I don't think it's conspiracy I think it's like a comedian like writing a Broadway play. Like what if Mary was excited her husband was assassinated because he like didn't pick up around the house. Yeah, that's dark. It's a comedy play guys. It didn't actually happen. Wow, dude.
Starting point is 00:14:15 I don't know if I can watch that. That's gonna really like change the way I like I've seen Lincoln. Sorry, I brought that up. I think a fun like personal highlighter or just like watch a day when you're like four or five years Old that's a great one. Just like I want just like what yeah, just like watch yourself just like observe You know, I'd like to watch my spouse to like six-year-old Rachel. That'd be hilarious
Starting point is 00:14:37 No, I agree. Yeah No, yeah, no, I just had to like to get in a room by myself it's there a six-year-old Rachel Yeah, no, that's kind of their initial that was my knee-jerk thought but yes. No, I, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I just I do agree, though. It'd be like, yeah, just like mundane, like, yeah, just like watch me and my friends hang out after school and go back and watch the first day you met Scott. Yes. The first day you met Isaac. I can remember me, Scott. Really? Because I remember he goes, do you want to be best friends?
Starting point is 00:15:20 He said that out loud. Nice. OK, that's cool. And he said, you know, earlier on the the playground I had four points to assist and he's like I'm critiquing my game lunch line anyway that's so fun you brought up highlight room man that is a great yes a great conversation yeah starter it's fun to think about yes I just thought the other day about how God just spoke the world into existence how amazing that is and I I was like, imagine that just. Well, it's pretty cool that like we are. Science is able to like grasp. There was some sort of big bang, but it's hard to wrap our heads around how it happened. Like we know the universe expanded infinitely at once.
Starting point is 00:16:01 at once. But we're not really sure like how it happened that way. But we know that's what happened. It's like if only there was some thing that we could believe in and find credibility in. Hey, nah, she takes a little we'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Sounds like a whole organism probably. Anyway, yeah, I just had that random thought the other day at church. Got any more? That was a great start. Sure. This is another deep thought I've had. Anyone else feel like they have a time limit on when you need to have your teeth brushed by?
Starting point is 00:16:30 And what I mean by that is, woke up this morning, did not brush my teeth, and then went, worked for four or five hours, got back inside, took a shower before I came over here, and realized, I haven't brushed my teeth yet today. And I thought to myself, i've interacted with multiple people. No one's no one's acted like my my Mouth is nasty. So i'm just not gonna brush my teeth You missed it. I missed yeah, it's like I only brush my teeth between 9 pm and 9 am if it doesn't happen in there
Starting point is 00:16:58 Yeah, yeah, or it's almost like uh, I only brush them X amount of hours after I wake up after that.'m good like if I wake up at 11 a.m Yeah, I'm gonna brush my teeth. Okay, I see but like if I clock starts when you wake up Like I got up pretty early today, and I yeah, just didn't brush my teeth right away for whatever reason and you brush in the shower Sometimes yeah, yeah almost exclusively Sometimes I will like get to rest on yourself, but what if you don't shower which sounds like yeah? What if you just in the pool listen the pool thing was an anomaly that was a Texas? Yeah? That's a test. That's what I do and I'm in Texas. I'm Texas breath breath. I come over to Brad's backyard He's brushes teeth. It is like
Starting point is 00:17:36 Inflatable pool I told you I do These are shocked by yeah, no I brush them in the shower a lot. Do I ever get on my stomach? You said mm-hmm Not that I can really recall Like you hold over No, I just don't think I've dribble anymore. I've gotten past that stage in my life Well see I feel like when I when I'm spitting out the toothpaste, it's not an actual spit It's kind of like a oh May tip the bucket. Yeah, I thought I would get would make the sound effects so we can get a visual.
Starting point is 00:18:07 What a good at that. But I'll try. What? No, if that's that you're right. You're working at that because that sounded like a horse. I don't know. That's all I'm saying. I really let mine fall out of my mouth.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Here's how Rosie does it, dude. It's amazing. She goes. And nothing comes out. That's all I'm I really let mine fall out of my mouth. Here's how Rosie does it dude. It's amazing she goes And nothing comes out She wants to spit like she's already like she she does it with she spits out her toothpaste And then she takes a drink of water does the same thing with water, but nothing like it's like she swallows the water she goes Okay good job Rosie, this is This is how you do it That's how you do it. How about that Rachel has and I'd be curious if you guys are your wives have it too She can't stay at the sink and brush her teeth like she is always moving
Starting point is 00:18:55 I she's always brush her teeth like in the living room Sometimes it does help to brush your teeth at least in terms of hitting the time limit Like if you guys do you guys have like electric? Yeah, I got brush so bored Let me go do something right like it really helps me to It's like brush your teeth for two minutes. It's like I'm gonna go take out the trash or Do something at the same time? so you're getting an oral health, which is on my What? Sorry, just the way it's a guy so no no no because brushing your teeth is a part of a whole right and I went to
Starting point is 00:19:25 The dentist on Friday, and it just comes up every time it's just flossing. Yeah, so hard But then another thing is you guys ever scrape your tongue you are big into that Well, you got a gas lit me on that one time bro gas lids. I think that's the right word I still don't really have a great grasp of what gaslighting. Yeah. No, tell us Brad. What is gas light? Yeah, and how did I do it? Yeah Yeah before you go accusing me of being a gaslighter, let's hear your definition on gaslighting. All I know is that one time You scraped your tongue at lifetime. I was like, what was that? You're like tongue-sraper. You never heard of a tongue-sraper? You're ridiculous. We're not known as a tongue-sraper. No, you are gaslighting
Starting point is 00:20:02 You're gaslighting me. Am I? As we speak. I think you propane lit him, but it sounds like will initially gas lit you Okay. No, it is just it is just in light the first time I think it was my mom She was just like yeah, here's a tongue scraper and I was like what and she was like so bad breath This is about 90% of it comes from your tongue Tongue scraper will change your life. I feel like people love to say that no it will what did um? because I feel like bad breath is probably a mix of You know plaque and build-up sure, but it's like dude a stuffle that's Circles will stick to your tongue. Yeah to bring it back to Monday. It sounds like the tongue is the dirty hamper
Starting point is 00:20:42 Yeah, it's the trash can right Dude go have you ever scraped your tongue before? No, then Rachel's got one then you're due. Oh, it feels like I'll gag How far do you will gag by what comes off of your tongue? That's what will make you gag and they yeah, trust me. I know it's not fun to talk about it's not fun to see It's also not fun to just let it live there. I don't see it I think no one wants to see that twice a day humans are disgusting. Huh twice a day No, I once every other few days or so. I'm not like religious about it. No, but again I'm this is where we're talking oral health of like I just think you know brushing your teeth is important But I actually think that flossing and tongue scraping might be more so I don't know. I guess I'm curious
Starting point is 00:21:24 What does that's kind of what I'm getting at What does the most good damage like if you could only? Like if you could only brush thoroughly once every few days, but it's like you have to flow. I don't know I'll tell you one person that would know that's coming to go shores has been dr. Ben. Dr. Ben Miller So we'll talk. Yeah, so maybe that'll be some good. Yeah conversation. Yeah, I don't know but uh Anyway, I have not brushed my teeth today Judge me how you want really yeah, so I decided just the toothpaste the toothbrush was in the shower the toothpaste was outside the shower Catherine doesn't like it when I get a wet floor going do you shower in the morning? Yes
Starting point is 00:22:03 Every day well almost every day. Okay, yeah. I knew that I was gonna get like super sweaty this morning right away, so I did not, but yeah. Almost every day. That's the thing that we've talked about in the podcast before, is that I shower like multiple times a day. Sometimes two or three times a day. Just because I like being clean. Yeah. And It's just a nice break No, I don't do it just for a break it is a nice break you're right nice break Anyway in the shower today. I did like I Don't want to say I avoided death, but I avoided
Starting point is 00:22:41 Catastrophe Oh something I like yeah Honestly yeah, God would have been like hey FYI if that would have happened I got that recorded too. So We have two different like little shells We have a little shower niche a little hole in the shower that we put all our toothpaste and whatever shampoo you get it And I put this bad boy this big old 32 ounce Yeti on the top shelf because all the bottom shelf was full You brought that into the shower Are you I was really thirsty? Do you never do? Oh, dude? I'll bring it all in the shower. Yeah, I'm with you, Beth That's yeah, you bring water into the shower. Oh, yeah, dude. Just hydrate. Just let it spill all over you just run over
Starting point is 00:23:21 L'Croix or like yeah, this is another oral health thing is um she said try water pick so Lauren and I just ordered our first water pick Have you ever used a water pick before? That'll go everywhere. Dude, everywhere. She was like dude in the shower. I was like, okay Yeah, bro one it hurts Water picks hurt. Okay, you guys never yeah. Yeah, I have it I have one hurt your gums and yes, they do get messy But anyways, go on so it long story short this you know Yeti bottles and how loud and massive and heavy they were, this one had a good amount of water,
Starting point is 00:23:49 took a drink, put it back up there, and I turned around, go wash myself and it fell, you know, inches away from my feet. Could have broken some metatarsals. I feel like that's one of those situations where like if I see it and I quickly try to avoid it landing on my feet
Starting point is 00:24:05 I'm gonna injure myself more in the avoidance that I am if it just would have landed on my toe But like trying to quickly move in the shower and like now I'm actually gonna fall now You're gonna like slip and like hit your head on the wall or yes, you see for Frank's injury Oh, yeah, so that's skateboard crazy, but now he's like making music and God's got my back. It's like this is a banger, dude This is all worked out Because I saw the video too and it's like what are the odds that he gets that on I know it's just that's some good I'm just saying I'm just saying that yeah his kid came in there. I'm like that's some good content For like it's kind of slow for me. I don't know what to do my buddy
Starting point is 00:24:40 I'm gonna skate right over there. You're gonna come in after No, what are you wearing don't wear that that? Yeah. Yeah something pops more on camera Yeah, that's fine. Do you think I mean I think is real but do you think the coldplay thing was real? Yeah, okay, uh Oh just the topic just ending it while it's good The segues are great. You're funny. The way you say things is funny. So we laugh. Yeah, yeah. OK. Oh, just the top. Just ending it while it's good.
Starting point is 00:30:10 What? Just summer. You know? And it's like, at what point does a good thing stop being good? Mm. You know? And it's like, went on family vacation with Lauren's family last week.
Starting point is 00:30:21 And it's just like, you reach that point. You know? It's like, you can only be around everyone under the same roof. And so I've just been thinking about that notion of like, hey, it's like it's it's okay, you know, to to cut something off while it's good before it become Die the villain or no. Oh, yeah, you know, live long and darkest before the dawn. Right. And so I've been thinking about that idea. You either die a hero or you live long enough to be the villain. Right. Exactly. And I think that that is I've been thinking about that idea a lot. You either die a hero or you live long enough to be the villain. Right, exactly.
Starting point is 00:30:45 And I think that that is also true of just moments in life in summer. And yeah, it's kind of feeling like that at this point in the summer, I feel like. Okay. Of like, okay, let's wrap it up here. Really? Yeah. Really?
Starting point is 00:30:56 You're all done with summer? It's July. Not summer of the seas. See, I date my wife pretty regularly, so like. No, not summer of the seas. And I just mean settling back into a little bit of routine. That's's fair getting kids back into school lauren and i are just kind of there yeah we're just feeling it yeah um which one of our podcasts that we did talking about prep for summer it's just crazy you know you're already here do you not feel that i feel like june you're
Starting point is 00:31:18 hopping you're looking forward to fourth of july we're going on vacation and then now it's just i feel i don't know about you Jake. Sorry But I feel like it's almost like crap summers over. I didn't do enough I I didn't take it like like it's almost August well I feel like I'm just now like in summer like true summer mode like yeah, June never feels like summer to me It just feels like oh, I think it is gonna start being like warm all the time pride or even I think oh, yeah That's true. Yeah, I think even just thinking about football kind warm all the time pride or even I think oh, yeah, that's true Yeah, I think even just thinking about football kind of got me thinking about this of like what is the official day?
Starting point is 00:31:49 You know, it's like hey, when can you start playing Christmas music? It's like what's the first day you're looking at mock draft Yes, when can I start looking at fantasy football? Yes face football getting excited about the Chiefs It's like I still like baseball, you know, it's like the Royals just smacked the Cubs by the way August 14th the Chiefs documentary comes out on ESPN. It's gonna be fun. Wait, really? What ESPN followed the Chiefs around all last season So different from even like the franchise different from yeah, but isn't it called? The kingdom or I think the franchise. Yeah. No, it's not. Yeah Yeah, I don't know I I think I think I wait till school has started basically to like in summer, like
Starting point is 00:32:27 in every in emotionally to maybe not with football. But I we don't have kids, but I think our dynamic around the house is about to change because Rachel's about to go back to school right now. I mean, we just like we go to bed together. We wake up together. We are with each other all day long. Right. And now it's about to be different. Yeah. Like you're saying, like you don't have much of a routine
Starting point is 00:32:48 right now, like you're saying. Well, like and soon enough, it's going to be like Rachel has to be gone every single day at this time. Yes. Time. Yeah. Yeah, there is like some insanity that happens whenever there's no routine, for sure. Like I think there's just we need
Starting point is 00:33:01 structure, but it's also nice to have a break. I don't know. I'm still very much I think I want to be we need structure, but it's also nice to have a break. I don't know I'm still very much. I think I want to be sad when summer's over, but you're right. There is like I love fall So it's like a little bit of both as I've gotten older I've come to enjoy and appreciate every season for what it's worth like I used to dread January and February Now it's like I can look forward to you know, it's like finding something about each season throughout the year to look forward to yeah Jake you got a new You got your face on a coffee mug this week. Oh, yeah, that's been going on hasn't it?
Starting point is 00:33:34 Yeah, where was I I forgot where I was when I first saw that on the Facebook page, but I thought that was so funny I don't know who did it. I don't even remember but yeah, it's on Etsy and There's like a photo of me from Rachel nice did it. I don't even remember, but yeah, it's on Etsy and there's like a photo of me from Rachel and I's engagement shoot, I think. Yeah. I think it was for like wedding. I don't know what that shoot was from, but either way, I got a flower in my hair, says, you got this mama.
Starting point is 00:33:55 It's a little mug. And all of a sudden it's starting to hit doorsteps. Yeah. A lot of people posing with it and it's awesome. I've had people like come to my defense, like Jake, you should be getting royalties on this. Hey, this is copyright infringement. I'm here to say I appreciate that It's all good though. You guys can have some mugs with my face on it. Oh, I definitely hilarious I wasn't mad by any means when I saw it, but I was like we should have made that mug
Starting point is 00:34:18 We could have made money on this like the capitalists if he's always like I missed an opportunity there. No, it's all good I think it's great I put on my story and it got so much engage right? Oh, yeah, this real Why is it in six shopping carts right now? Cuz like Etsy will tell you like the demand or whatever. Yeah amazing. Do you see do you feel like moms is still? Kind of a I think it's part of a trade trickle down like trade I'll hire a mom audience Facebook pretty strongly in like 2020, you know days and yeah There's still some of that. That is awesome. But also I mean our peers now are are mainly moms, right?
Starting point is 00:34:53 You know like it's good point women our age or moms Another Facebook post Tyler Stolzfus said for almost my whole life I thought that Stephen Curtis Chapman was a band called Steve and Curtis Chapman I thought that Stephen Curtis Chapman was a band called Steve and Curtis Chapman That's great, and so then this is the great adventure. Yeah, that should be two guys. Yeah, you know brothers lock and arms So then people commented other things that they were misconceived about Gabriella de Silva I always thought that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were two strangers who happened to look exactly alike First name Mary last name Kate Oh Mary Kate or
Starting point is 00:35:35 Mary Ashley Mary and Kate Mary and Kate no no no one one celebrity is hey, I'm Mary Kate hi I'm Ashley Olsen Okay, okay, and ash. Oh, that's good. Yeah, that's funny Shane Pringle this this one's, Nicole signed her name on this, but she said, embarrassed to admit that I thought J. Edgar Hoover was J.Ed, last name, Cahoover. J. Edgar Hoover.
Starting point is 00:35:55 J. Edgar Hoover. What a funny thing to like, misconstrue. Yeah. The old FBI president, director. There's an episode in Friends when Monica's young boyfriend admits he thought Gunpoint was an actual place. Two people are being held at Gunpoint. Oh, that's funny.
Starting point is 00:36:11 That's good. Oh, then they talk about who's Ricefields, because we talked about that last week. Oh yeah, that's kind of funny. And then somebody said, I thought, Emily Harvey, I thought Helen Brimstone was my aunt's friend. Helen Brimstone. That's funny. I thought Helen Brimstone was my aunt's friend Helen Brimstone That's funny I know kind of a fun like thing for people to not quite understand so and then one more thing I'm just going through the Facebook page now
Starting point is 00:36:35 Just a viral moment of your picture here at the pickleball tournament. Oh Yeah, what I I wouldn't play in this charity tournament. Check out Jake getting intense here. Whoa, with the collar, too. Yeah. Good. But was that the picture like you couldn't even see? That's the whole picture. That's the whole picture.
Starting point is 00:36:56 And for all we know, he's not even holding a pickleball paddle. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think I've ever seen Jake that intense about anything. I know. I can't believe I look like that. Geez. at a charity tournament. Yeah, they posted it had a great trip or had a great charity You know these chiefs players showed up this guy Crapped his pants on the court Is that Mike Pinnell? Yeah the same? Anyway, it was fun, and yeah, I still think we're getting hooked up. We've like somewhat followed up
Starting point is 00:37:24 I think Noah Gray is still getting us tickets to one game. That was kind of the prize for winning kind of So he's a nice guy. You're gonna be friends with him. I'm calling it. I think so I've learned he goes to church with glide what yeah, Samuelson one of his best friends. He goes to church with him, too Wait, Samuelson's best friend glide same one number on the chiefs of Samuelsson We played a little pickleball this week with glide. Yes, we did kind of fun You claim that you had nothing funny happen to you. I thought we had fun plenty of funny hijinks No, yeah, it was it was a nice nice nice time Yo, what's a thing we called plunged?
Starting point is 00:38:02 That was when I tried to get you to come play with Tate, but then taste down Gunner bailed so then I went and played with Jake and Isaac Yeah, we cold plunge for a little bit. She had a good time should we do our schmores? Yes Double schmores week more as we extra mollows this another one. I have not Officially had anything written down for I'm going off the dome here great We're doing schmores of orange things Schmores of orange things will start us off. I get to start us off What did he just say will will start us off? I know but I'm also with you. I'm off the dome so uh no
Starting point is 00:38:39 It's easy. Yeah, I'm going with an orange whoa One one orange huh yeah oranges are good. Yeah, they're good. Yeah good It's cut. Yeah, you just got to peel it first Which is honestly the thing the way I grew up we were just peeling first Well, anytime I think about an orange I get excited about the orange and then Amelia afters like I'm gonna peel it. Oh No peeling oranges actually really wait a second yeah but no I think halftime oranges oh postgame orange slices right yeah ride home oranges right yeah morning oranges orange orange slices surely yeah yeah yeah so you got
Starting point is 00:39:20 to be careful because orange juice is its own thing if that's but don't have those without oranges. Do you Roll the orange on the table before you slice. Oh, what's that? It helps it The skin come off faster. I think or easier Even as I think right now, it's kind of crazy that oranges create yellow orange juice Yeah, is it orange or it's more yellow than orange. Yeah, you're right. Wouldn't you say yeah? Like I've never seen anything close to a yellow orange, but orange juice creates a yellow drink Well, yeah, okay But the inside of an orange is kind of yellowish
Starting point is 00:40:01 No Like bright orange. Is it? Kinda. An orange? I know. We're saying it over and over. An orange is pretty orange, but the juice...
Starting point is 00:40:16 It's not straight yellow though. I think if you're just juicing an orange, it's got a little red in there. But I mean like have you ever, or like you go to Hen House and you can, you can juice your own orange juice. And like, I just think about that using a juicer and it's like, no, it's yellow. Huh.
Starting point is 00:40:30 All right. One of life's conundrums. You looking it up? Yeah. Yeah. Where does it? Yeah, it's more yellow than orange. Where does it? Wait, is that what it's saying? I'm just looking at pictures. OK, well, I'm just curious, where does orange juice get its yellow hue Because he just said it's no I just don't know if there's like a scientific reason Yeah, also, they probably pump up some you know chemicals in there man. It made. Oh yeah, nice try Yeah, big minute big big orange alright Jake you go next. I'm gonna go with cheese
Starting point is 00:40:59 It's something that's that's orange bona fide. No debate on what color it is with my pick. Straight up originals? Straight up, yeah. I've had the extra crispy. They're as marketed, pretty crispy. The burnt ones? Where they're burnt, not on purpose. They have ones that are like burnt on purpose, don't they?
Starting point is 00:41:20 Burnt on purpose. Or toasted? That would be funny if they said that on the box. Burnt on purpose. Seriously, we burn these on purpose. Cheese that would be funny. That's on the box burnt on cheese Cheese it's black That's funny. Yeah, they do the extra tens. I don't get anyone who goes goldfish over cheese It's I'm with you like goldfish is on my list. Let's be honest. It's not gonna make it's fine. Yeah. Yeah Yeah, she's it's have a lot more going on. Yes in Tennessee. I or when we went to see spoiler. Oh my gosh
Starting point is 00:41:47 Isaac got two boxes cheese. It's one of them was white cheddar one of them was extra cheesy bad choices times two Not neither of them were very good at least have one that's normal and then we can experiment Tabasco is nice But yeah, don't go classic. I think we're burnt on purpose burnt on purpose cheese. It's burnt on purpose Go classic. I work on purpose burnt on purpose cheese. It's burnt on purpose All right captain crunch bear all berries on purpose like anytime you modify a product Oreos double stuff on purpose Well, yeah, it was oops all berries now. It's all berries on purpose FYI Yeah, you got is actually pretty delicious rib eye steak meeting well on purpose All right, my first one and tell me if you disagree with this as being orange Is the inside of an orange? No? I'm just kidding is fire
Starting point is 00:42:29 We believe that's orange Yeah, yeah, okay, obviously there's different hues of fire. Yeah, yeah, there's some yellow in there, too. There's some yellow There's some red. There's some white hot they call it blue some blue You can get in blue, but fire is amazing fire is good fire does a lot for us That's a good and it's just beautiful to watch And then my next choice is going to be I'm gonna go basketball a basketball. Oh, man original peach baskets no Spalding I'll go small. They're holding infusion. They make a good ball. Remember the one that had the pump in it
Starting point is 00:43:03 Oh, yeah, I never owned it personally me neither, but some people had it and they were always flat Great I forgot about the self pump ball fun idea. Oh, yeah All right buddies look over see on the side look what's well doing He's pumping up his ball. Don't worry about I'm gonna go with Kraft mac and cheese. Okay, so good all mine are scooby cheese Yeah, I guess Yeah, just really good Rachel randomly made some the other night just got a wild hair I'm gonna make just like basic just college mac and cheese. Yeah, I don't know if you guys have had a race I bet all it hits dude mac and cheese. I don I don't think you can't go wrong with it.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Like, Catherine bought some Goodles. You heard of those? Yeah. Well, yeah, Costco and they're... Yeah, like protein, mac and cheese. It's supposed to... To me, it's like, if you're going to go bad on mac and cheese, it's going to be something like this.
Starting point is 00:43:57 It still tasted amazing. Really? Okay. So just get the protein noodles then. They're all good. Yeah. That's the thing. Like, you can go... Get a little milk noodles then they're all good. Yeah, that's that's the thing like you can go milk
Starting point is 00:44:05 And then the powder great 50 cent mac and cheese from Dollar General is probably unbelievable to like mac and cheese just mac and cheese Yeah, so good. Good. Yeah, all right, really? Okay. Um, I'll go with the Sun The Sun is orange Sun is about as orange that is you said fire Brad orange Sun is about as orange that is you said fire Brad the Sun is literally a ball of fire So anything that you just said about fire, okay? Okay, I feel like if you look at like when they show you a really zoomed-in picture of the Sun It's like orange, but like on earth. No, I know what you mean of like because
Starting point is 00:44:39 Or it's like, you know in spongebob where does the thing where it shows like Patrickrick's armpit from a distance and then it zooms in and it's Like very detailed. I feel like that is also the Sun. It's like we have our kind of Call it million mile view of the Sun But then like when it zooms in and is like there is a lot going on there And I think that that's just crazy to think about that literally in this moment Like quite literally like all hell is breaking loose on the sun. And that's also like why we are here. Yeah, we're the exact perfect distance away from it we need to be.
Starting point is 00:45:09 Yes. Big bang though. It just kind of happened. Just lucky. You say big bang, I say orange star. I Googled it. The sun's actual color is blank. What do you guys think?
Starting point is 00:45:22 No way. Wait, it's not orange. We have a guess for red Phoenix Suns are orange, so I guess I'll Phoenix Suns are accurate For Will's pick Charles Barkley I Guess I'll stand by my answer. I'll say orange the Sun's actual color is white whoa What right often appears yellow or orange? Okay, due to the way the Earth's atmosphere scatters light especially at sunrise and sunset
Starting point is 00:45:46 Yada yada yada, but it makes sense why all the other stars are yet or white Yeah, true They're super all the same atmosphere. I don't know yeah, no that one's kind of a mind-bender Either you have son your son saved you mm-hmm mm-hmm you to go twice. Oh good to go twice um Man this one's tough I'll say Maybe skin I Feel like the average I'll let him have that one. No, I feel like the average of every skin just say Trump did just say
Starting point is 00:46:26 Just say Trump, dude. Just say Trump if that's what you're trying to say. Just say it. I feel like the average of every skin color in the world probably equates to orange. It's funny, every time Will makes a pick, I end up Googling it. Like, I'm like, all right, well, let's see. What color is? I've Googled all three of your picks.
Starting point is 00:46:42 I mean, really, you could think people are either light orange or dark orange? What is the aggregate color of human skin on earth it's a funny question yeah average yeah what is the what no good what do you got there isn't one single aggregate color I don't appreciate Google doing that to me hey literally find this out in five seconds instead. There's a wide spectrum of color alright. That's not Google's getting a little too PC. I asked for aggregate Let me get to the bottom of this you make your point. Yeah, no So one on a very grand scale the Sun two on a very
Starting point is 00:47:17 What's closest home for a skunk the the your skin protects you from everything you have multiple layers. That's really cool Dermis epidermis. It can heal itself Yeah, it is an organ All right, Chad GBT said the aggregate color of humans got on earth would likely fall somewhere in the medium to light brown range Yeah, because even all our white people have a little brown to us. I Shocked it's not bright orange For sure it would be some shade of orange Let's give it to them Sun and skin
Starting point is 00:47:55 That's funny. I wonder if Chad Dupont's ever been asked that before didn't plan on having this researching researching Yeah, thought for 13 seconds. That's interesting Okay Let's just stick with Researching thought for 13 seconds. That's interesting Okay Let's just stick with Food I'm gonna go orange soda. Okay orange soda Who loves orange soda? Kale loves can't kill Someone familiar with it. You have older siblings though. I think think that's why. That's true. Anyway, orange soda.
Starting point is 00:48:25 It's good, that's it. All right, you get another one? Do I? No, is it me again? Yeah, I think so. Oh, sorry, okay. Okay, I will go with tigers. Oh.
Starting point is 00:48:36 I had a specific tiger in mind. You can't take it though. Bangle. Bangle. No, okay, tigers. Tigers. Tigers are good. Tigers are tigers just tigers are good tigers are dope Tigers are good tigers are awesome. So cool one of the coolest animals in the world Dude, this might make me kind of dumb but pretty much every time a lion or tiger gets brought up
Starting point is 00:48:57 It's kind of the counterclockwise thing it takes about a second and a half to remember which one is which well I don't know if that's normal or not female lions don't look that different than tigers Maybe that's what it is female lions kind of yeah But surely you don't have cat surely don't have to decipher male lions and tigers It's just like when you first say it just like yeah tiger stripes. Yeah, okay, and now I got it But there's a slight hiccup of like king of the jungle Mufasa was a tight Tiger King no that was Joe exotic. Yeah was a tiger king. No, that was Joe Exotic. Yeah. That's right.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Okay. Lion King. I think I have things like that too. I think I actually just got confused just now. What is the king of the jungle? Lions. See, I think that's why you get confused though, because I'm like a lion. I never see a lion in the jungle. Wait, wait, wait. What is the jungle?
Starting point is 00:49:44 Lion is always in like savanna, like the plains. Like the dry areas. Yeah, I feel like a tiger is more jungle-y. Whoa, whoa, whoa, who is the king of the jungle? See, he just takes a little. The lion is traditionally known as the king of the jungle, although they primarily inhabit savannas and grasslands, not dense jungles.
Starting point is 00:50:00 This title is largely due to their physical dominance and social structure where the male lion is seen as a powerful leader No wonder I'm confused. It's based off of nothing. Yes, King of the savannas just doesn't have a ring to it Oh, there's a YouTube video if you guys want to watch it why tigers are not the king of the jungle Oh, how long how long um? It's a great point. It was a short. Oh dang. I was hoping it's really long Yeah, this is kind of like Michael Jordan getting cut. You know it's just these things that we accept over time
Starting point is 00:50:25 All right, I feel really good about my picks my last one is going to be autumn leaves Well, that's autumn leaves. Pick Brad. Thank you. Yeah the fact that we haven't said anything fall yet. Yeah, go on why? Just beautiful just unbelievably beautiful Especially here in Kansas. I mean people say like Vermont is like a crap show compared to Kansas Falls. They always say that. What? No, stop. You haven't seen the shirts that Charlie Hustle
Starting point is 00:50:52 that say Vermont is a crap show compared to Kansas Falls? The shirts that Charlie Hustle. You're lying right now. No I'm not, dude. Bunker had them too for a while. What does it say again? Vermont is a crap show. Vermont is a crap show compared to Kansas City kids autumn leaves vote Brad
Starting point is 00:51:11 That's what they say crap show I don't know It's on the shirt take it People from Vermont, New Hampshire fly down to middle of nowhere, Kansas They go up and down word Parkway and they say boy back home is a crap show. Gosh. I've heard that. Yeah. Anyway, my last pick. It was the first thing I thought of when we said Orange things. I'm going to go with Gunnar Duckworth. Oh, good. For two reasons. One, Oklahoma State. He has a boat that's all orange. He has a bathroom in his parents house. That's all orange His bedroom used to be all orange and quite literally this morning occasionally He'll just send me pictures of himself in bright polos that I've given him over the years and he was wearing a bright orange Polo at his corporate job. Yeah, so he just always vibrant. I think he's got a good pair of
Starting point is 00:51:59 Orange clothes on yes, he does so gonna dark worth my last pick that guy's orange. Yeah, that's great Um, I'll actually go hunting gear Um, who shout out to our our boys up north. Yeah I mean when they pull out that Vest and that it's like oh man, that'll get you excited face pain. Yes, right. Yep Yeah, if it's nice you're wearing one of those things. It's like I don't care if I've never hunted it like I'm a hunter Yeah, I'm a man. Yeah, right. Yeah ring a goose's neck I know I know the difference guys. We're doing Randy Johnson and
Starting point is 00:52:38 I'm excited. I'm going back this year. I didn't get the The full invite for everybody this year, but but you are going back. It's so good It seems like an every other year thing probably It's probably probably rather Yeah, full face nice Gosh, that was so much fun. It was a good time got to see the chiefs lose first time all year That was fun that that would have Made that trip almost too good. Yeah beating the bills to stay undefeated
Starting point is 00:53:05 It was that was a bit true. That was maybe the one negative the whole time. I can think of oh what a blast of a trip though Good boy Give us a good boy. Well good boy. Shiloh good boy boy Shiloh that were one of the guys who would say good boy to Shiloh was Kenny and I don't ever said this on the podcast but Because because I flew in there Kenny picked me up from the airport And I would always text the guys updates of what me and Kenny were doing like we're sitting at the bar at this restaurant Now we're going to shield together and will thought I just befriended some guy in South Dakota
Starting point is 00:53:40 He worked for the property. He's like so how'd you meet this Kenny guy? He had no idea he worked for the property. He's like, so how'd you meet this Kenny guy? You always, you bring that up like it's fun. That's so funny. So sue me that I thought that you just befriended someone at the bar. That is funny. It's funny to think about, yeah,
Starting point is 00:53:54 that I like sat at the bar by myself and I was just like, what's going on boys? And I'm like taking selfies of them. And then we went to Sheels afterwards together because we hit it off so much. That is funny. It is funny. Oh Baby, baby. Oh baby, baby. Oh baby, baby I'm feeling cozy. Oh baby, baby. Oh baby, baby Oh, baby, baby
Starting point is 00:54:21 I'm feeling cozy. Oh baby, baby. Oh baby, baby, I'm feeling cozy. Oh baby, baby, oh baby, baby. What's that say right there, guys? Oh baby, baby. You have them too. We're feeling cozy. Oh baby, baby. I didn't know you had the socks on too. We both wear cozier socks, they perfectly match.
Starting point is 00:54:39 I, not even. They're the exact same socks. Dude, they are. What are the odds of that? I'll tell you, kind of high these days, because I ever since I've gotten these socks, I'm finding myself putting them on all the time. I will say guilty once again. I did laundry this morning and first thing I did was put on my Cozier socks.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Like all my options. Those are the ones I wanted. I choose you, Cozier. I choose you. This goes from bamboo. I've been working all day on the on my feet. I took a shower and I put these things on and I'm not even joking. This is not just for the ad. I audibly made a noise. They were so comfortable. I think I just go, oh. Starting point is 00:56:19 I feel like a lot of cheese is yellow. I really like white like pepper jack cheese Yeah, you'd have to say maybe like American cheddar cheese American cheese, which are good But I don't know if they would win it's worse on Monday's episode. You mentioned the high sea. Yeah Oh, yeah, I already had on my list orange lava burst. I got a little stage where we're working at K life And I would go to that 79th state line McDonald's and get orange lava burst it rocked my world wait orange lava versus the technical name for high sea orange Yes, okay, always just called it high sea orange, but that's so good
Starting point is 00:56:50 Does McDonald's still have that they brought it back they it went away for a while and people really and they brought it back Yeah, so it's there right now. I believe so The one time he switches the camera this whole time I'm out of here. Sorry boys saw an opportunity ran with it You put it on for the one time he switches the camera this whole time boom I'm out of here. Sorry boys saw an opportunity ran with it I bet Tony the tiger that was my tiger. Oh What about what about the desert like desert climate, I don't know if you know what oranges Deserts like so yellow. I mean comparing them to like cheese it. I'm saying the desert. I'm saying like just the climate region like it could be the Grand Canyon which is definitely
Starting point is 00:57:29 orange. I could be. I give you Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is definitely orange. Alright just a second. Moab is orangish. The Grand Canyon is probably the orangish thing in the world. So sue me Brad.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Desert climate. Should have picked it dude. That would have been a great pick. The Grand Canyon is a good pick. Desert seems a little more tan. I'm saying desert climate to me okay encompasses the Grand Canyon, okay? Although the southwest It's one of my favorite regions
Starting point is 00:57:53 What about pumpkins I? Thought about putting them, but I was like to be honest. They're not one of my favorite things Honorable mention you know that's why fall leaves is a good fall right? That's a great fault yeah, because those are nice like pumpkins do elicit a feeling to me though when I see him I Get happy, and then you see him you know to too far gone And it's like that's really nasty gives you maggots in the trash can monarch butterflies anyone sure sure Love me a good mom. Here's a pic. You should have done home depot
Starting point is 00:58:24 Home D wall Depot Home Depot a D&D Wow, goobie Yeah, Home Depot is great. I and I am biased towards Home Depot specifically something that arrives with Home Depot Finding Nemo good guys home fish and Finding Depot any other big brands that are orange I'm looking rigid Looking over show through what a burger, but what a burger. That's a good burger. Yeah, that's a good one I Put sweet potatoes. I do like sweet
Starting point is 00:58:55 carrots Not on schmores not today guys not today. Yeah, I put Reese's packaging That would have been a controversial pick and pick Reese's? Yeah, you can't say Reese's because Reese's are amazing and I couldn't say frosted flakes. They have capitalized in orange Yeah, wow a lot of brands are really saying like we're orange. Mm-hmm Home Depot Reese's packaging Clifton Alexander their big orange. They were yeah reactor Just that just anything creamsicle flavored. What about nacho cheese? I love creams nacho cheese will work like concession stand nacho cheese. Yep. It's kind of orange ish
Starting point is 00:59:34 Tide detergent yeah, that's yeah, I smell like tide detergent a big What'd you say as he's well? I could turn to do use time Goldfish and orange juice a nice sunset. Mmm the white. Yeah, you're white sunset. Yeah Yeah That extension cord was pretty cool extension cords in general. Yeah, that's traffic cones traffic cones. Yeah Man good times burnt orange. We like we like we like Texas color Texas Tennessee volunteers Anyway, all right been schmores schmores of orange things I went down to my basement yesterday and was doing laundry. I said gosh these clothes still feel wet
Starting point is 01:00:22 I was like, you know what the whole basement kind of feels wet my basement Historically we talked about podcast it floods that crazy this house is a hundred years old. It's terrible It just floods all the time and yep flooded the day we moved in it was awesome, but It just always kind of eventually goes away But we've got a little like humidifier in our basement I went looked at it. I think our humidifier is set to be 40% I think that's the range you kind of want to be humid summer time or dehumidify. I think it's a dehumidifier Okay mistake. Oh, there is a humidifier as well. That's connected to like
Starting point is 01:00:53 I think it's two in one because I have a nozzle to go from winter to summer Ah, it might be humidifier. I think I can crank it up and it can turn it down. Yes. Okay Either way, it's set to 40% my basement was at 83% Well, I asked Jack GPT about this and it almost had a spasm on me. It was like that is not good Chatchity just turns into your dad. Hey bad boy You had never treated me that way I was like, oh, you're a bad boy. That's what I was doing to me. Chat?
Starting point is 01:01:26 I mean, dad? I mean, chat? So, right, within five minutes, I had bought a, like, industrial-sized dehumidifier that's hopefully on my doorstep when we get done recording to really crank some of that water out of there. Yeah. It's crazy how wet everything feels in the basement. Just like the air.
Starting point is 01:01:41 Really? It's like the clothes that are, like, perfectly dry. Right. But don't feel like it. So yeah, I got a problem. I have mold guy come out, but anyway, just all I was saying, if anyone can top 83%, let me know. Pretty proud of those numbers.
Starting point is 01:01:53 There's gonna be people in like Florida outside, be like, no, we can't top that. Like the Everglades are like, you win, dude. Yeah, to be indoors and still, yeah. What is it like, do you have any idea what the outdoor humidity is? Outdoor humidity. Well, humidity, the more I learn about it,
Starting point is 01:02:09 it's so relative to the temperature. You know, so like, it's so hard for humidity to be at 80% when it's 90 degrees out. But if it's in the middle of summer and it's only 78 or whatever, yeah, it probably is. The summer is always super, sorry, the nighttime in the summer. Yes, because the temperature goes down
Starting point is 01:02:30 So I handle more crazy moisture right now. It's at 56% it says wow What are we in the orange desert? Good boy will Pay attention There's a tension more than Brad and Jerry good boy will you be the last one laughing with me? Man that trip was so fun desert climate doesn't have to be hot desert climate can be cold Oh, and when you think orange you think cold yeah, well, this is this orange cold I knew nailed it
Starting point is 01:03:17 Few quick notes from me this week Hattie's home officially and man has it made a difference It is it it's like you sing her like a coming home song. I could do this home. Yeah Hattie's home Tell the block she's coming home song I could have to do home yeah had he's home tell the block she's coming home dude it's like I mean away from Dennis please he throws trash out on your knees wait where was she she was in Texas we went out in Texas for a while and she stayed down there for like yeah over a week she was on there dude sweet yeah I'm getting the bit It's like when Mary Poppins comes home and all the kids are like seriously Seriously, dude, it was like she started playing with Rosie immediately. Yeah floats in on an umbrella Rosie was a different person. Yeah
Starting point is 01:03:56 We were all different people. It was just it was just wonderful It is wonderful to have her back and I try not to like I don't know I want to emphasize how much we love her and like appreciate her But also like let her be a kid to an extent of like how much you trying to guess of your own kid Or or also like or guess light your kid or make him feel like we couldn't we can't do this without you Like you know what I mean like putting it on a seven-year-old. Yeah, exactly. How do you assume? I'm glad you're home. Yeah Good to see you understand yeah You're an equal just like the others Dad wires all your hair on your one of your eyebrows out like no reason. I wasn't stressed at all. You're just a kid
Starting point is 01:04:34 Probably a prodigal son Why him father why him? equals Anyway sweet to have her back Equals. Anyway, sweet to have her back. Also, I'm playing a golf tournament with some guys from my church. This week. What are you on?
Starting point is 01:04:49 You are. That swing must be looking. It's not. It doesn't. No. Stop. I promise. No. So I got that rotator cuff issue. I got a text from Sam Seavers. It was like, hey, we need an extra person for our battle golf
Starting point is 01:05:02 team, battle golf tournament team. And you know what this sounds like You're each gonna have three balloons above you like in marraker battles. It is very Bounds you lose a balloon. It's not but it's it's very YouTube ask like what we're doing So I thought it was like for like a ministry thing because he texted me Scott Johns. Who's the youth pastor our church and Sam it was three miles off. Yeah, this of course promotes battles for boys. Battles for boys in the Hope Center. You know what it's about. Christian Youth Camp. It's like, yeah, yeah, sure, of course I'll do that. Anything for the Battle Boys. Turns out it's like mainly like staff members and then like the summer
Starting point is 01:05:39 interns. So like all these like high school, college college kids I am paired up with Walker aka Walter and But it's like the two of us But like if you win your whole then you like get to either choose one of the other teams clubs to take away Like from them okay, or if they've taken away one of your clubs. You can take it back. That's kind of fun It's like two on two two man scrambles first on two and then at the turn we will switch it up. That sounds fun. And then there's a consequence.
Starting point is 01:06:09 Either take a club or get one of your clubs back. It is very like mood swings though. It's kind of fun. I mean, yeah, if it's like, all right, you got a par five next, let's take their driver from them. Correct, yeah. So I think it'll be fun. They put me in charge of a consequence.
Starting point is 01:06:22 And so I gave them three options. We voted for it. Like who comes in last? Yeah, we voted for the least fun one, to be honest, but the one that we ended up going with, we'll appreciate this, Chick-fil-A milkshakes. You gotta buy Chick-fil-A milkshakes for everybody. Chick-shakes.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Chick-shakes. But the other two that I thought were pretty funny, slash just punishments, one of them was you had to go to the gym at church and make 400 free throws Or 20 in a row if you can make 20 in a row you're good. You're done. That's fun But I don't know how like Catherine thought that sounded terrible I was like I don't think it would take as long as you think I wonder how long it would take I wonder if your Shoulders would just be 400 would take you're not making 20. You have a partner like it's you and your partner that I had to go
Starting point is 01:07:02 So 400 cumulative oh That's a nice time. It's you and your partner that I have to go, so 400 cumulative. Oh, okay. 200 each. That's a nice time, it's probably good for ya. Yeah, so that was one, or the other one was you and your partner have to learn the Forrest Frank Your Way's Better song. For the Hanans. And create a TikTok, and it has to be played
Starting point is 01:07:18 every single Sunday at the kids' street, like the kids' programming for three months straight. Whoa, that's a lot. Played, not like you have to perform for three months straight. Whoa. That's a lot played, not like you have to perform it three months in a row. But I think that's kind of funny to like, just imagine Hattie being like, yeah, and they played your video again. So those are good. That was obviously not doesn't take as much time was more embarrassing. One of them isn't embarrassing at all, but just takes a lot of time and then the milkshake one, but they these high school or college kids
Starting point is 01:07:49 I guess they are Found Maddie Dieter Lee's gifts of all the ghost hunter stuff. So they're just the group chats going nuts with Yeah, so that's kind of fun, but I'll throw another consequence. I know you've already voted golf related You have to fall into the net at Topgolf. that's funny you'll be safe that's scary yeah scary for them because you'll sue if it doesn't hold you true you make a bunch of good songs afterwards how'd you get that on video for it's got my net I already had back cast my net towards. Yeah. Anyway, but it should be fun there.
Starting point is 01:08:28 Yeah, I love consequences. So our our pastor who will be thinking of the best K2 consequences back on the on it, boys. My my partner is the pastor's one of the pastor's sons, Walker, and the pastor at the end of every
Starting point is 01:08:43 single Sunday, he'll always like at the end of his sermon He'll say you'll never regret obeying Christ. So you respond as we sing So he always says you respond as we sing So I said our official team name is you respond as we swing nice like that. That's good And then I'll say and I say you know this you'll always regret playing us That's good like if you're in then if you're in that church, oh, that's exactly I was like that's a nice joke that I can only make with these guys at this moment Those are some of the best just like best parts of being a dude
Starting point is 01:09:15 Just a niche joke in the right group chat or in the right the right pheasant hunting meme. Yep. Oh That's hard to be in a guy. It's inside baseball. It's just inside. It's just inside baseball Yeah, just inside guy stuff, which is inside stake and power tools Right. I love consequences. I think we've all worked at Canock. I can had our fair share of yeah dumb consequences You guys want to share some of your favorite ones people have had to do one consequence I will say I'll get it out of the way that I'm kicking myself that I didn't include on the pheasant hunt trip. It's like is get it out of the way that I'm kicking myself that I didn't include on the pheasant hunt trip it's like ah is stand up in the middle of the fire and just pee out the fire yeah right you guys might if I go the restroom I'm so glad you didn't do it for Jeff Moore I know that would have been the best consequence
Starting point is 01:10:04 his reaction would have been the best consequence His reaction would have been oh, bro. He just keeps what are you doing? He's just queuing up third day over here Just literally do it actually putting out the vibe. Yeah, we're all freezing so funny Yeah That's a great consequence But there were a lot of good ones that weekend by the way to whoever came up with those Tate and Peter and you probably Wasn't what was the joke? Not even a joke. It was will Will quoted the Christmas story movie and no one laughs
Starting point is 01:10:36 We don't have to talk about it Because you guys still don't understand it. So I don't even want to talk about it So and so then we start like like I think Tate just starts bringing him the consequence jar or something like that And we'll just owns. He's like you know what yeah, give me a take to bring it on course Yeah, it was just like for whatever reason you like kind of bombed a joke such like I didn't bomb it It was actually so on the nose that no one else it was well. It's honestly like Always right correct. Yeah, okay fine
Starting point is 01:11:06 I just want to love orange soda from Kenan and Kels a brilliant reference you didn't get it, but Christmas story yeah, and I remember is your deal It was when you farted in seventh grade and he blamed it on someone else the The teacher assumed it was them and I let him assume it was them. Yes. And so I reference Christmas story when you okay, I'm not even going to say it. I'm going to get into that again. No, it's funny that Tate thought your joke was so bad that you had to take a consequence. Oh, I'll be the fall guy. If that helps breaks the ice for the group.
Starting point is 01:11:40 It was a good role to play. You just puff your chest up. You're like, yeah, give me a consequence no problem Okay, yeah, what was your best one at camp that you ever received and then what's one that you gave? I'm having a hard time remembering them to be honest They're making people Sleep on the floating dock for a night That was what those were always good consequences like you have to sleep here for a night sleep in the covered wagon by the nurse's
Starting point is 01:12:02 Office sleep on Ward's porch. Yeah, I remember funny people did that. Yeah, what was the name? Kellan did that one time so your counselor similarly I remember one time I think he's Sean Landers came up with the life of pie which was yes Yes, spend all day out on a like paddleboard on a paddleboard with Joe's dog Which is funny to me and I've never even seen life of pie I think we know there's a tiger on a paddleboard with Joe's dog Which is funny to me and I've never even seen life of pie I think we know there's a tiger on a paddleboard. Yes It's a like whoever did it just like totally just come back and their skin was just fried Geez one that orange giving it a name is so funny. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah one another one I think was Landers. I guess was good at these He did banana Schwarzenegger and I remember I got that
Starting point is 01:12:49 Remember I got that consequences. So it was like for a full day that every you know, all three meals I had to come in and do an Arnold Schwarzenegger impression and then Rob every table of all their bananas. So I had banana guns. I'd like a banana sash I said give me your bananas Table of all their bananas, so I had banana guns. I'd like a banana sash It's like give me your bananas Banana Schwarzenegger That's great. Yes, that was good. I don't I can't remember very many I remember there was one that one of my friends had to do where he just had to like for staff training week He had to pretend like he was goth the whole time
Starting point is 01:13:23 He's just like this preppy like frat guy from Georgia Tech. And but like he lost the bet at uncle week before all the rest of the staff got there. And so for seven days, so many of the new people thought he was just like this, like he had a lip ring and like he like swooped his hair over and all this different stuff.
Starting point is 01:13:42 There was always a lot of consequences around like staff training week, like get this out of the way before the kids get here. But most of those I did not want to receive because it would be stuff like that just gives you a terrible first impression. I know. I don't want to do it.
Starting point is 01:13:54 It would be like every time you meet a girl, you have to do 15 pushups in front of her. Or bring up your bench press. I don't really want to do this. I did see one pretty well executed, kind of from my distance. He had to. This was 2011. The canine thing was game on. And on Parents Day, he had to end as many sentences as possible with game on.
Starting point is 01:14:14 So it started like in front of the parents. Hey, what's up? My name is Nathan Schlarb. I was in charge of tennis specialty game on. And I'm from Wheaton College. Game on. Game on. Oh my gosh. Like every sentence, not like every. like every I was like pretty much every sentence
Starting point is 01:14:28 Corporately, but I I swear like I I heard him doing it and like private conversations with parents Like we would walk by and everyone's like dude. Slarb is still doing it I love the he's committing to it like instead of like praise God like oh You're giving such a joy to have in the cabin such a leader and that's why he got I'm third game on Yeah, mom. It was so good to meet you Yeah, it's a bone one. It's something negative. No, I'll be I'll be praying for I'll be praying for that diagnosis game on yeah Hey, dude, I'm sorry. You just pooped the bed, but game on game on That's pretty good, I actually really like that one yeah, yeah, it's out stone
Starting point is 01:15:01 I remember one that like my first year. I didn't understand that he was doing a consequence I just thought he was being annoying and yeah 100% it was like a I did not like that Yeah for a whole summer because he just got up on the Microphone every single day at lunch and just gave a terrible shout out to somebody on the microphone It was like who is this guy thinking he needs to have like these he's being thinks he's funny and he's taking the mic He's like hey, what's up? I just want to give a shout out to Will Severns Will you got a black shirt on that's cool, so shout out No one laughed. No one did anything
Starting point is 01:15:34 But then my buddy my buddy Jerry holiday Who's like the most lovable guy in the world got the shout out consequence either the next summer two summers later and just? People loved beyond it. He's like, hey, what's up, man? I just want to give a quick shout out to Daniel over there. We call him dirty D. Like he's like very gutter duck. Dirty D rocking that old school hornets jersey. We love you. So shout out, shout out. Like, yeah, you got to to commit It was a great example of like the difference of like just delivery You have to commit shout out I should have thought like what if you did the ping on the fire one and like you just got really bad stage fright
Starting point is 01:16:16 You can't even do it But I got the consequence I just give me a second. Just be cool. Everyone look away look away Everyone just look away. Just look away. Just look away Does anybody have any water? Look away It's it's okay. Just like it. I just met these guys. Okay, someone's like bratty. Okay. Oh, it's almost there Dude, I had it. I had it. I had it. It's like bratty. Okay. Oh, it's almost there Don't don't do not do that, please
Starting point is 01:16:55 That's so funny. It's just out. I'll be right back. I'll be right back That's such a thank you. I'm too close. I think I'm too close. It's hot. I've never had to do this when it's so hot Anyway, let's throw our wins of the week. Oh, crap. My win of the week is supposed to be Hattie. Dang it. Well, it's a tradition we do. It's hard. It's hard to explain.
Starting point is 01:17:13 Brad, try your best. OK, it's like kind of like testimonials of the week. Like it's just like a good thing that happened to us. Like win of the week. Just like it's we record this episode for a Wednesday episode.
Starting point is 01:17:27 So we call it Wednesday and it comes out on Wednesday It's fine, but great job. Yeah, so win of the week I can go while you think thank you Rachel and I Who I date? Played a fun little game actually I might have you guys guess. What is the nature of the game? We'll say it's called try to come find me Nothing weird. No, what do you think happens? There's no saluting. Yeah, how does I know the answer go ahead Wow, okay? When you get home when you get home from work or out and about I think that kind
Starting point is 01:18:08 of a fun thing kind of like a big game of hide and seek. Yeah, I actually used to do that with my dad as a kid and that's a good guess. This is if I'm like out on a walk and then I know Rachel is getting home. It's like try to find me somewhere in our neighborhood. So I'm on foot. She's in a car. That's fun. So kind of like Pokemon go but like with your wife. Yes, I am the Charizard. She is a nerd. She has like,
Starting point is 01:18:28 she doesn't look at her. You're fine. My friend. Yeah. She said it's tempting, but she doesn't. She says to drive around the neighborhood until she finds me. It's kind of fun. That is fun. Yeah. I think I knew that somehow, somehow, some way that is fun. Try to come find me. When are the week I've really, I have this big pheasant hunting lodge project that I'm working on and I've enjoyed it a lot so far so far. It's going really well It's really gonna get sweaty get to work with my hands I also really have enjoyed I think you have really enjoyed this aspect of it Jake well I don't think you could really handle it, but I'm rich enough. It's hurtful
Starting point is 01:19:02 No, but like since I'm building so I'm building 17 queen-size beds And I'm building like 23 total beds like we're gonna put these dude. You shouldn't make one of the storage unit Oh, that's right. Dada. Yeah, one with no semi-access correct. Yeah, dude. You got to make one a king What I don't think that'd be a fun like but what they got one's a king just on delivery day Surprise get new mattresses. Yeah, I just feel like one bed that everyone would be like dude. You got the key Yeah, I think that that would be like a fun little surprise and delight thing for them But anyways, if you're surprised like hey surprise, I bet you something doesn't fit in the door One beds out in the front yard. Hey, if yi yeah, you're just gonna it's in the yard, but it is king-size
Starting point is 01:19:42 We're gonna have a steak tonight When he said that You guys just laughed and you didn't even know it's a good good voice. I don't know no he's when Can remember his name Jeff? No is the other mark not Jeff? Yes, mark, and he was giving us the safety talk before oh yeah I know he's talking about yes, and it was like things got really kind of somber right before it's like We had a guy three years ago mess around blew his hand off. Just kind of pause. We're all just like okay We're talking about Tom we're gonna get steak tonight. Yeah, do Mary said that was Tom really serious
Starting point is 01:20:19 Yeah, kind of just to say like hey don't ruin this try the idea of like hey, we're eating steaks tonight This is gonna be a good like that will right a trip can easily get ruined It's hard to eat a steak with one hand Jensen almost did it I kind of saw it happen with him and Isaac I almost kind of saw the trip run Also, you saw me you were right next to me. I saw that too. Yeah, yeah, didn't he kind of reprimand you Brad? Or honestly, do you remember the first round? Nobody he knows what he did Bradley or do you remember the first round? He knows what he did Bradley or do you remember the first round the first round that they said after they were like that was a terrible
Starting point is 01:20:50 Because they all flew low. Oh, it was like kind of worst-case scenario Yes, I remember they said that there was like that was part of the worst-case scenario with like 12 knuckleheads who have never done This before yeah, because I forgot about just like a lot of low-flying Whoo, gosh, I had one on my shoulder at one point and we still got him. I think Gunnar shot him off my shoulder They said that's worst-case scenario. He's used to wearing orange. So sorry. I completely threw us off I forget what happened with steak. We're gonna have steak It was it was a steak tonight and it's like yes, sir It was a threat. Yes, I dare you to do something to ruin the steak and blow one of your friends heads off. Yeah, no, right like it was that I mean while I'm sitting there with
Starting point is 01:21:30 Full camouflage on my face. Yes, sir. Yeah, no like I felt I'll take this seriously I was like I don't have like daddy shoes right now It's like right after we went to the range and like just missed every single shot We shot the shooting range. Oh my gosh, dude Stephen Swick at the studio range was the best dude It was like it was like try to aim try to line it up aim it Maybe if you miss shoot it one more time, you know, you got five bullets in here. Here we go. Steven. You ready? Yeah, uh Paul and it shoots you go Just missed all five two minutes later. All right, what are we doing?
Starting point is 01:22:05 You're out of ammo. No one's even used half throws yet. You're out of ammo. I don't even know how to reload yet, dude. Gosh, that was so funny. And I said, Hey, it's a coffee, coffee, kind of day where you can learn to sip and pray and get along with each other. And I said hey what it's a sponsored Main Street what you know stars on the Wednesday we get along with each other
Starting point is 01:22:36 hey hey DW now that name never really rolled off the tongue you know in that show you know it rolls on to the tongue. You know, in that show. You know what rolls onto the tongue? Main Street Roasters Coffee. The set up and just the spikes right there folks. There it is. If you're looking for things to roll on your tongue. Yep. Look at mainstroasters.com.
Starting point is 01:22:58 Yes, they're a nice brick and mortar store in Napanee, Indiana, but they're also a website. They'll ship it wherever you are. I dare you to find a place they won't find you. All sorts of beans, all sorts of grounds in any way you want them, K-cups. It's just high quality coffee from a great company. I mean, that's the main thing.
Starting point is 01:23:17 I feel like it's just like, they're great people. We've met them personally. They've been so good to us. We've hosted events there. This is the type of company you want to support. So get some coffee for you or just get it for a friend Low commitment get a bag for a friend. Yep, GRKC for 10% off your order Anyway, my way of the week is just it's yeah, the projects going well having fun with it But like also it's just fun to like because I'm doing so many of the same thing
Starting point is 01:23:42 It's like the little things that I can figure out how to do quicker can make the process way. Optimization. Yes, so like I'm building all these tools, they're called jigs, if you will, for woodworking. Like all these little things that'll help be shortcuts of like, boom, put this here and then just put the thing, put the piece on and then it'll screw right in.
Starting point is 01:24:03 Like kind of all these different things. And anyway, it's just been a lot of math. It's been a lot of calculations and it's been fun. Good on you. Thanks. So that's awesome. Well, can you think of a win of the week? Yeah, I got one. I'll say I'll say Brad up on our podcast. All right. Preemptive win.
Starting point is 01:24:23 If you see what I did there, a little their little accountability now I'm excited for that so shout table setters podcast after Brad and I for two years now have had our monthly group of business owners in town gonna get Jake there eventually maybe and yeah we're gonna have steak that morning. Yeah So no, that's fun Yeah, obviously I think this medium is super fun and this will probably the most that I've kind of doubled down and going on Going in on that with you has been fun. Mm-hmm. So I'm excited for the world to hear and listen. Yeah Fun. All right, Brad. you have a comment of the week I
Starting point is 01:25:08 Did who left that comment wait? Oh? Yeah, okay? That's good. That's good Monday was testimonial of the week right now Who said that I did um Let's let's do this. Let's just do the dashing chairman on Spotify. I've been listening to the best podcast ever, Ghost Rears, for a while now, and I've been watching Ryan Trahan for a while. So whenever I saw that y'all donated on Ryan Trahan's 50 days thing, it was like my favorite two things combined. It was awesome. That's cool. Tom said Noah Gray is also a type one diabetic. I got diagnosed in 2018 when he was still at Duke. It's awesome to see type
Starting point is 01:25:47 one diabetics push boundaries. It give me a lot. It gives me lots of motivation. A couple people bonding in the comments. I had no idea. Well, you guys know a gray was diabetic. Yep. No, could have fooled me. Read that comment. So I knew it.
Starting point is 01:26:00 No, I've known that for a while. When that episode come up and that comment come through. Thank you for all the comments. Trying to take it for granted that we get so much engagement organically just like a Week and everything in the Facebook group like it's all so great and just like so just fun and Thankful for you guys. Yeah, there's nothing nothing like it like like ghosties. Yeah, I don't think you guys have even understood fully what you've created I'll say it probably not many people on the show who can
Starting point is 01:26:27 Yes, I believe anyone listening you guys do an amazing job engaging with you guys, but you all have created something amazing And it is community people feel seen people feel heard um and uh Yeah, I don't know. I part of it's an honor to sit in this chair It's an honor to record table sitters podcast a couple times. We've done it in here Well, I think at one point we're like he was like we can't record in here. It's sacred space dude It is sacred space. I mean sitting down Jake's chair. I'm just like man and
Starting point is 01:26:57 Yeah, I and then just like yeah the testimonials or the the frame picture is just just so cool And I'm just like such a fan Yeah, it's nice. Yeah, it is kind of crazy to think about everything that's come of it You know you take the Ryan Treyhan donation or even just like yeah my wife my wife. Yeah Crazy, but I did it. Yes. Thank you guys for listening. Absolutely making it happen Couldn't have done it without you guys Willie. Thanks for being on man. Yeah, yeah, share your story calm Hey, well severance on LinkedIn there. It is I actually it is wild that um I Don't know I don't have a lot of giftings and skill sets yeah, but I'll well
Starting point is 01:27:38 No, but I'll tell you right we got a steel trap up here, and I just remember it was probably around 2019 20 maybe early 2020 um those maybe Now I actually remember the exact day, I'm just trying not to come off as so yeah, I don't know when this was yeah No, I just remember getting chick-fil-a with you one time You might have still have been doing K life and like Alex and I were at the very Forefront of talking about some of the conversations for our business and I remember you were like yeah I'm like Brad and I are thinking about starting this podcast. Oh, I like random thing. Yeah, so I'm getting chick-fil-a with you Yeah, and so thinking back to a moment like that is just awesome and you know even to talk about camp consequences of just kind of like that commonality that you have around like a bunch of just knucklehead dudes and what
Starting point is 01:28:28 10 years later it's like we all there's still some knuckleheadness there but it also has turned into yeah elements of our livelihood right it's like yeah I guess what I'm getting into is like God knows the desires of your heart you know and I think that that's a cool way that all of us got to initially meet. Um, and then also carry that on because that's not really the norm. Like what, what is norm in like corporate America is like, you kind of suppress some of those thoughts. And it's just like, no, I'm just going to go get a job because this is what I'm supposed to do. Um, that's also a little
Starting point is 01:29:04 bit table setters, you know, to is like that fires inside a lot of guys, but they just don't really if there's any sort of like table setters preview here, it's like that thing that you think about. It's like, go start it, you know, and sorry. Oh, well, he's preaching again. Table, there's preview. I just you guys just had an idea you just had a thought let's just start this and look what has been created so it's kind of marrying those two what you guys have created is one both brilliant but also
Starting point is 01:29:33 very passionate about anyone that is out there that like has that itch started because you just never know where it can go and now look at how many lives yeah so toughest step in the process is from zero to one yes Yeah, of course two and then there's three and then no, but seven is all I've done this. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you're right There's a lot of tough ones tough steps absolute zero of one to zero is tough people don't talk about that one enough I don't know That sounded good I've thought about absolute zero in a while when what's the point remember that they would be like it I Don't know I've ran a question. Would you guys have a favorite piece of merch that you've ever done?
Starting point is 01:30:15 Like if you could only sell one piece of merch for the rest of Ghostrunners. What would you that's tough? This probably is not the best answer for if you could only sell one piece of merch by love anytime I see someone and they're wearing a shirt with my dad's name on it. Is that a piece of sure that it drag design? It's supposed to look like a campaign. Yeah It's like yeah, it just looks like a almost like a button you would wear that says, you know Barack Obama or something but it just like this whole shirt that says Steve Triplett Jesse Platner shout I came to a show wearing it seeing a handful people wear it. It's so funny Wow, I don't know our fans of me. So they want to wear my dad's shirt. We've done a lot of merch
Starting point is 01:30:53 So I don't it's hard to think about like what's one that I really like one of the classic initial ones we did was Like an old it's like an old-school like Air Force one style like tennis shoe on there And we for the longest time we just would say on your feet all the time like that was just like our way of saying Like game on like on your feet. Oh, let's go on your feet We don't say nearly as much anymore But like so he's had like this old tennis shoe and she said on your feet ghost runners podcast that one's pretty sweet I saw a lot of those in the wild. I don't know I'm a big sucker like it's so funny when we're talking about merch like some things that sell really well are like not my favorite
Starting point is 01:31:29 Designs, but other people maybe it's their favorite designs, but the designs I like are like the simple ones They're just like kind of like what I wanted to do for our table setters logo like that super catchphrase here Yeah, I just want to be simple and like I like Sarah fonts So anyway one more question. This is fun We should have done more this where I just quiz you guys on Because this is probably stuff you guys don't get a lot of yeah If you had a child tomorrow and had to name your child After a ghost like you like this ghosties name first and like their first and last name is
Starting point is 01:32:02 Your is your child's first and middle name. Is your child's first and middle name? Which name do you like which name do you think would just ring well give us a gender that will help narrow down Give me a guy and a girl Okay You like so so this is a kind of cheat just a little bit. Oh, yeah, my last name is Ellis So I would I would name middle name is B. You in I First name is Janelle, so it'd be Janelle Boonie Ellis When yellow is Janelle Boonie Ellis a
Starting point is 01:32:31 Faithful ghost. Oh, okay. Yeah, no Boonie Ellis. That's good What are some of the Iconic names now I can just think of a Vandergoons did I want being organs as a middle name Iconic names, that's it. That's a tough one. Give me it could be a conic or could or bush triplets Yeah, it could be I it could be iconic or just like someone you respect to like if my kid turned out like that person Andrew Thurbus triple they call me AT&T. That's you can always find him. Yeah, he's always got signal I mean that that's a that's like that's like picking your favorite child, Willie It's like there's so many good like especially if you're like well if just somebody you respect and the ghostie community's like well
Starting point is 01:33:10 That's tough Obviously it would be that one guy that likes the Patriots, but now he's gonna be a Chiefs fan over that guy Braden Yeah, that guy now. I'm not named my kid Braden That right now yeah, or just any names you like like do you feel like if you guys Even kind of taking ghosties out of it. You and Rachel feel like you have a name of like a boy and a girl if you oh Yeah, and you want to tell everyone right now? Well, I guess I I've said on the podcast like a couple times and I didn't really know you're like not supposed to do We got in trouble. Not really. We're just like I don't care. She slapped a face and said in hindsight
Starting point is 01:33:44 She was like, actually, if anything, it's good you said it because now if it gets popular or whatever, you can always be like, I told you I said it in 2023. Yeah, because we were really nervous that my homes was going to take it. Oh, anyway, what is it? Another metal?
Starting point is 01:34:00 Yeah, it's aluminum. Gender neutral. So it could kind of either way on it. Yeah. You knew me me noom for short Noom noom um Yeah, okay, probably those or my dad's a listener, so maybe just name one of them Dave I Met a girl at McLean's I met Denise on Sunday. She was like I love
Starting point is 01:34:25 I met Denise on Sunday. She was like, I love the Jeans you guys she kept calling jeans. She got I didn't realize I work with the guy you do it with that I work at Johnson County Community College. Oh, it was a year before I realized it She met you at like your dad's like Hall of Fame induction or something. Okay. Yeah and put it all together and she's like And anyway, I just had to tell him I can't leave your son does the jeans and they just you guys are just so great and does the anyway I'll be looking for more jeans out there you have a good one she was nice it is fun when like you meet somebody that knows your family well but didn't know the connection and like watch them be like what I had no idea wait what do you see like if like like my sister is a co-worker with this nurse
Starting point is 01:35:03 who watches our videos or something and she's my sister's like yeah My brother does these videos every once in a while whatever. Let me show you what they're like. That's your brother No way, I've seen him before Stuff like that. Yeah fun time. You know the guy with a steel trap brain. Yep. That's my friend. Well, that's well Yeah, well, okay. Yeah, no, it's good. It's like a few months ago Drew and Julie texted and they said Lillian just saw Brad and the chick parking lot And she said there's Brad. Yeah, and she said and she told Julie She said this is a bigger deal than seeing Taylor Swift. No, Mike. No, she did. Yes hundred percent
Starting point is 01:35:38 Who is this person? Huh saying this is my niece Drew's daughter. Yeah, what? She did well, Drew's daughter. Yeah, what? She did Well, that's Okay, good. Just receive just accept that come no no I receive it But I also feel bad because then I saw them from afar one time at Chick-fil-a, and I didn't say hi to them I was just sitting there And I didn't think she saw me either and then Julie a couple days later was like yeah
Starting point is 01:36:04 We saw you the other day, and I was like I should have if it was that big of a deal for her to say hi To me. I should have said hi to this girl. I thought it was like the opposite I didn't know they knew who I know and I don't think it was I think it's just yeah, it's kind of like Like anyone because he told her so well I yes, um, ooh remind me There's actually a really interesting question that I think would be good to start we good on time We have no time time limits. That's amazing. I think all she's meaning is like ask as the ghosties like would you rather spend a day with Jake and Brad or Taylor's, you know, it's like yeah people who you actually care about and are closer to you
Starting point is 01:36:40 And so I think that's kind of what she means That's just like that person is knee like there are I'll say on my level But like they are reachable. They're approachable. Yeah, and again another thing. I think you guys have done really well I saw a question the day actually a LinkedIn post that said, okay Would you rather either take 200 grand right now No questions asked or for five million dollars Within the next year you have to shake LeBron James hand Has to be a firm shake no daps no
Starting point is 01:37:14 And you also have funny challenge Yeah There were a couple stipulations on it of like you can't announce to anyone that like you're on this quest journey like yeah Anyone know like it is like it's incognito That sounds real hard. I've got one guy. I could hit up. What is it? It's in one year I would take his hand and I get five million. Yep, or just accept 200 grand right now But if you hit that guy up you can't tell him why right dude I would love to come to one of your basketball player parties
Starting point is 01:37:46 That's it. That's that's who's your guy that you would hit up You're that guy did next trick shot superstar with Austin Mills. Yeah, so talk occasionally I mean he's in with every NBA player I mean he was like in the hospital room the night after Tyrese Albert and Torres Achilles like he was in there with him and Like he's like boys with most of them. Whoa, so I don't know how close he is with LeBron but for five million dollars, you know, I could put forth some money to maybe But there's even strat But there's even strategy of like how you leverage that connection of like I have a year So like my next three or four interactions with him are just gonna be like baby steps and then on the fifth or six
Starting point is 01:38:21 interactions can be like hey, do you ever know of any like in bad together steps and then on the fifth or six interactions can be like, Hey, do you ever know of any like get togethers or play though? Because then I'm saying you or or what you just go in with it with the first ask like, Hey, I haven't talked to you in a year. LeBron's been golfing more. I think you just go to L.A. and find him on a golf.
Starting point is 01:38:40 I think about I got to take the 200 grand. I was going to say that sounds really hard and $200,000 lump sum straight up right now would be a pretty easy that that's guaranteed money But that's a fun. That is fun. I think I think I you've one year to shake his hand to action though Just like walking up to it's just like this is five million dollar handshake Because eventually you're gonna get a restraining order if you try too many times and fail, right? Yeah, like because That's a great point. I would just track him down and stalk him. It's like oh wait I think that's kind of illegal right the stalkers come up like you would have to play it So cool comment and you would really only get one shot. I feel like yeah
Starting point is 01:39:22 Yeah, it could be done I would have to like not work though. You know, I think it's like you go to LA and you find out approximately where he lives. And then you take another two weeks to find out exactly where he lives. And then you gotta like follow him around. This is one thing. So now you're trying to gauge a little bit
Starting point is 01:39:37 like it's gonna lose you money if you don't get the five million. Like you're gonna like. Now I've taken off. Now it's your job, you're spending money on hotels. You're like. Yeah, like legitimately, like your family would have to be in on like hey, this is happening Dad's got his binoculars outside of the bronze James's, but I mean like five million dollars Your spouse would probably be like all in on this gonna make it happen. Yeah, honestly
Starting point is 01:40:01 I bet our spouses would say no just take the money Really? I think Rachel Catherine both back. Oh, yeah, that sounds fun. I think Catherine Catherine's I don't know. That's okay. We should ask him. I think Rachel be down to try. Hmm. Me and a guy named DJ Mikell. He like DJs for Dude Perfect and a lot of the 116 guys. Yeah, no, I know know he works with trade and he tribe and Yes, okay. Yeah, we have a bet. I don't even know the financial bet, but I am gonna try to meet my homes before he meets Bruno Mars There's really no rhyme or reason why any either of us would meet those people, but I feel like you'd be able to
Starting point is 01:40:41 Swing that yes, I agree. I almost said this with the LeBron thing of just like, you know, six degrees of Kevin Bacon. I think it's less, especially in America. Like, I think we're all like closer than we realize. It's interesting. One or two people away from knowing only three grandparents away from the founding fathers. See, LeBron seems like on another level than my homes,
Starting point is 01:41:03 though. Like, really? But I mean, like he's going to like brawny's g-league games, and that's a good point whoa We got it. No we yeah, we got to get to what's his youngest son's Bryce is like a you games Yeah, that's where we make it happen. Yeah That's where we get him yeah, no now we're like in it like it's gonna happen. No, but that's cool that there's actually a real world example. Brun, I wouldn't have the first place to get. What is where does he live?
Starting point is 01:41:32 What is he doing? He's in San Antonio, I think. Your line. Yeah, okay. He's outside of Corpus Christi. I want to say what's that Wisconsin dells Believe it or not but yeah, the broad is like kind of a different level of homes, but he's not on like a
Starting point is 01:41:51 Ronaldo or like Taylor Swift level I think like I think he's like a little bit more really Taylor So as far as like security or like yeah cushion around him Yeah, Taylor so seems like the most unreachable like not even did you know it's my sister unless you're a nurse We will just mercy when she went to children mercy when? If I let her come to you, it was December. I was like around Christmas time because she told me the story at Christmas Yeah, yeah She they just put her arm around my sister or something like I think she touched my sister or vice versa or something like that They took a picture all together. Yeah, I mean it does seem like when you when you get her shield
Starting point is 01:42:25 You know and that's why I? Vice-versa or something like that. They took a picture all together. Yeah, I mean it does seem like when you when you get her shilled You know and that's why I Mean she's created what she's created. But what is interesting is I saw her Hollet she calls it her holiday home. Have you seen this? That's like her home in New Jersey where like she spends holidays. Okay, I'm just like that seems fun That's what you guys should do get one of those or just that yeah I don't know for like one week out of the summer Gulf Shores, Alabama. I like a holiday home. That's fun Travel yeah, that could be fun. Okay, check it out. I'll make a website for us cool Yeah, I want spot available. That's what you guys you should call it the haunted house
Starting point is 01:43:02 Halloween themed vacation August Hey, it was cheaper to get Halloween decor now Yeah Halloween theme vacation August Hey, it was cheaper to get Halloween decor now It's a giant skeleton on the bees on clearance chill All right, let's wrap up.
