Starting point is 00:00:00 Jake, there comes a point in every man's life where you just say, I hope my kids think the best of me. And I had a great moment of that the other day. Catherine was watching figure skating with Bo and Hattie and Bo. Men's, women's, co-ed. I believe this was, I hope it was men's because Bo, the next thing out of his mouth was, man, dad would be awesome at figure skating. which is just hilarious in and of itself.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Yes, it is. But I was like, man, like Catherine told me this later. I was like, man, maybe you just thinks I'm like, you know, I jokingly, I'm like, I'm so strong. You know, I can lift you up. I can have you touch the ceiling, Beau. I can put your head on this, whatever, all these different things for him. And so the next day I talked to him, I was like, hey, Bo, I hear that you think that
Starting point is 00:00:51 I should, I should be in finger skating. Yeah, you would, that would be awesome if you were a figure skater. And I'm like, really? I was like, why? Like, what makes you think I should do it? You know, I was like, I'm not even, I'm not good at, you know, he's like, because you're so heavy and you would break the ice. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:01:10 All right, bud. All right. All right. Thanks, buddy. Love you too. What do you think being good at something means? What do you think the goal? I don't think he wants me to be good.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I think he wants to watch somebody fall through the ice. We show him one blooper reel. He just wants to see a. the big man fall. So if you, like, talk to him since then, like, hey, you don't,
Starting point is 00:01:33 you don't talk to other people that way. Dad, you would be so good at sumo wrestling. Really, bud? Do you think so? Why? Because you're massive. You would crush the other guy.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Dad. Yeah. Where'd you learn that word? Uh, uh, oh, ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down
Starting point is 00:01:53 with some random thoughts in white meat, me too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along. Let's have some fun and go. Oh, heck it on your feet
Starting point is 00:02:00 Because it's a ghost from the podcast That's good times Happy Monday Presented by Main Street Roasters Dad, you would be so good at beekeeping Why, bud? Because you would smush all the bees Because the bees would have nowhere to go
Starting point is 00:02:25 Because you're taking up the whole room Oh, man Dad, you'd be so good at spelling. Why? Because you're a good speller. anti-joke. Yes. And you would eat all the letters.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And you eat all those spaghettios. Anyway, just I was like, man, that's so nice. That's cool. He thinks that would be really good at this thing. He sees me have a little balance here and there. Yeah, I'm pretty graceful for a big guy. You would. Because you would fall through the ice.
Starting point is 00:03:03 You're like, first of all, pretty much impossible. First of all, it's like, yeah, it's just, a floor underneath there probably I'm pretty sure. Oh, that's so funny. It's really funny just in general, like my dad would be so good at figure skating. It's like, do you think this way when you watch football? I'd rather you think this way when you watch football. Yeah, he's never been like, dad, you'd be an incredible lineman. Anyway, so at least spin zone, better or worse than Bow's saying, when I grow up, I want to be a figure skater. Oh my gosh. Yeah, keep him away from that. What do you think better or worse?
Starting point is 00:03:38 Oh, man. Yeah, if you're not the best in the world, no one knows that you do this. And you probably can't monetize it. That's not even what I'm worried about. And third of all. Tough to find a wife. Yep.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Anyway, so. Okay. So yeah. Okay. That's what I wanted to start with. Happy, we got some nice off white here, boys. Yeah. Happy oatmeal day.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Yeah. Time and I almost the exact same outfit. Yeah. Blue jeans, cream sweatshirt, and then Bradstrels in, same color sweatshirt. Here I go. Good vibes. Good vibes. How is table setters?
Starting point is 00:04:17 How is everything? We haven't seen each other in... Oh, everything is all right. Two weeks? It's been an eventful two weeks. Really? For all of us, I feel like. We've done a lot.
Starting point is 00:04:27 What have you done? I don't want to bring the podcast down too much. So I'll just say it quick, and then we don't have to move on too quick. I sold the house, and then they pulled out. Did they really? Yes, dude. Big old bummer. B-O-B.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Pretty deflating. But you know what? I mean, not to spin everything into a divo, but... For a good reason, they both have? For a good reason, they found mold behind one of the walls, so now we have to worry about that. Who did? The freaking inspector.
Starting point is 00:04:54 I thought it was pre-inspected. They still won an inspection, and they found... They found the tiniest bit of mold, which, luckily, it could have been a lot worse, but now we've got to go... It's like, I described it as like, oh, you know, like when you're climbing a mountain. We all climb mountains.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Yeah, I've done one. We stop making the face. Sorry, this is me being like, I know. Gosh. Hey, is God in control, Jake? You're right. We're fine. Everything's fine.
Starting point is 00:05:19 I'm going to look up instead of it. Come on now. But you know when you're like climbing a mountain? We all do it. Yeah, Kansas all the time. But you see the mountain top. You're like, sweet. There it is.
Starting point is 00:05:29 We got it. It's crazy that we're going to be up there. And then you turn a corner of the trail. Uh-oh. You got to go down to the valley first before. You know what I mean? It's like a fake summit kind of thing. We're like, got it.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Here we are. We're right there. And that's what it felt like. It was like, it was such a relief to like be under contract. Finally, like we got a, we got somebody who's interested and we're going to sell it to them. It's going to be great. I can move on to this other stuff. And then it was a great eight days.
Starting point is 00:05:53 And then they came back and they're like, hey, they're pulling out. I was like, all right. Cool. So now we got to go back to it. And so anyway, it's a bummer. It's a, yeah. But that's, it's been an eventful however many days. Wow.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Between that and, you know, other stuff. But, yeah. But that's, it's okay. I've really, I've been like really leaning into the verse, the idea, the joy of the Lord is my strength. And like, if we can just choose to be joyful, like, we can get through this. And like, not that it's even that crazy get through. I've been reading Acts in my, sorry, now I'm really, I'm doing Devo. But I've been reading Axe in my quiet time recently.
Starting point is 00:06:31 And I've had the ghosty experience of just going through Acts and seeing Timon's name. So shout out. out to time in there in Acts 6 or whatever it was. Yeah. But I mean, yeah, and actually these guys are getting stoned and, you know, thrown in prison and like getting like thrown out of town. And it's like, I'm worried about money. Like, yeah, who cares?
Starting point is 00:06:51 I mean, I care. I'm worried about my family. But at the same time, it's going to be fine. So. And there's abundance. You can always make more of it. Come on. You will find ways.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Work harder. Yeah. I mean, yeah. I'll drive for Uber if I have to or whatever. We'll be a one car household if we have to, you know, whatever. Like, we can grind it out. It's just funny, man. Entrepreneurship is just, table setters was good.
Starting point is 00:07:14 You asked that. But yeah, we talked about today with entrepreneurship is just feast and famine sometimes where it's just like some days you're Mark Cuban and some days it's like we can only afford rice today. You know what I mean? So it's just part of it and he's got to continue to trust in the Lord through it. So anyway, that's the update. I know a lot of ghosties. It's amazing, dude.
Starting point is 00:07:35 sorry, now I'm just continue to talk, but so many ghosties, like, immediately after the Zillow listing went, like, from on the market to under contract, I mean, like, two minutes after, I probably got, like, 10 texts from Ghosties being like, we've been praying for this, congratulate. And it was like, it was so wonderful and overwhelming and like, oh, my gosh, like, look at all these people that really care about this. And so I'm almost, like, sadder for the ghosties that I have, like, I can handle. You know what if it's like, hey, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:08:03 But I'm almost like sad to, like, deliver the news. of like, yeah, it's not, this job's not done yet. So anyway, but. Yeah, because also you've probably went through a little bit of this like grieving process and like now, now they have to start it. And I've, I'm already through it. I'm good guys. But now you guys are hearing this for the first time. 100%. Oh, yeah. Yeah, the night that I figured on a Friday night and I just, I was pretty quiet the rest of the night. And I went on a walk by myself with no headphones, just a raw dog kind of walk and just prayed and thought and prayed and thought. And it was like 15 degrees. I didn't care. Just just walking. It was so quiet.
Starting point is 00:08:35 you know, late at night, anyway, but... Dude, that just reminded me. We, we, uh, we FaceTime the Coops last night, you know, Rachel's parents and you just catching up, you know, what's going on, you know, Steve Coop mentioned something like, you know, he was snowing or it's been really windy or something, but, you know, it's been nice the last couple of nights. So I've been out and, you know, I've been jogging, running around, crawling, you know, whatever. And the way he said it, we thought like the pace at which he's running is like he's crawling.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Yeah, yeah. And then five minutes later, he mentioned something about his shoulder. is being sore or something. And we're like, wait, go back. Have you been literally crawling around? He goes, yeah, it's a great workout. No. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:09:16 There's always something. He's just a worm? Every time we talk to him, there's just something of you had in your 50s. You're just, you'll try anything. Is this new? This is new to him. It's the first I've heard of it. I think this is new to him.
Starting point is 00:09:30 That is unbelievable. It's where we're like, is this like a bear crawl? Like, or your hand, you're on like. Yeah. that's a thing, you know, and he goes, no, no, this is like, Army crawl. I'm on the ground. No way. So you're saying that like, there's Angie just like doing the dishes, like after a nice casserole,
Starting point is 00:09:48 nice Iowa casserole. Oh, there's a nice hummingbird. Yeah, listening to Caleb on the kitchen radio. This is exactly what's happening. She just looks out her yard. It's a nice night for just some good old crawling. Oh, that was a good crawl in I, Anch. I loved it.
Starting point is 00:10:04 It was good. Oh, yeah. It's over- This is hot cabbage. No way, dude. I guess he's just been crawling. I don't know where he got this from, but there's very much still snow on the ground.
Starting point is 00:10:17 It's like, that's got to be freezing. He goes, no, you get so hot crawling. The snow's kind of nice. Yeah, he's crawling on the snow. He's crawling in the snow. He goes, last night it was actually a really good one. We're like, what was the temperature? He goes, oh, 24, 25, but no wind.
Starting point is 00:10:33 But the ground is, you know, 27. But the soft snow was, it felt warm. It was warm snow last night. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. That's, I love the, the kicks that Steve Coup goes on. Yeah. Yeah, it's always something.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Yeah, it's like I'm gonna, yeah, I'm doing, what was it, 26, 20, no, 23-6. That was this thing there for a little bit. Oh, yeah. I'm doing 23-6 and then last check and it was like, that was a little too much. I couldn't do that. Wait, what was it? It was 23 hours fasting and six days a week fasting? I think just like a really healthy diet, 23 hours a day.
Starting point is 00:11:05 and for six days a week. Like, be really, really good. And then it's the purge once a day. Oh, my gosh. And then he did this, like, little juice cleanse thing, and now he's into crawling. Put them all together. Maybe that's the solution.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Yeah, that one hour a day, that you do get deep whatever you want, you have to crawl, too. Yeah, you have to crawl to get it. You have to put at the end of your driveway. I want to know, is he doing this? Is he doing this in the front yard of the backyard? Yeah, I should ask for questions about it.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Like, yeah, Everyone should be doing this. I'm showing everybody how to do this. He's crawling in the ditch, waving. The ditch actually is, yeah, a little bit of a resistance training. If it's windy, I go in the ditch. It gets kind of below it. That was Steve update.
Starting point is 00:11:49 And then Angie was like, oh, here's something that happened at the coffee shop. I think you'll appreciate. She goes, this was just a few days ago. You know, the other woman who works there is like, Angie, you got to see this. She was like, you know those college students who came in. And she was like, oh, yeah, I saw them. when they came in, they brought their Bibles. She's like, yeah, they still, so their Bibles are out.
Starting point is 00:12:09 They're sitting on the couch over there, and they are making out. Just in joyful Java. Bibles open, making out, and to take it one step further, we're getting a little, little hicky. Oh! We're doing a little sucky, sucky on the neck. So key. Bibles open.
Starting point is 00:12:28 And to maybe make it even to slightly worse, it's like 9.15 in the morning. When you know, you know. when you get, yeah. Big dogs got to eat. Really? I think I said that exact same thing on the call. I was like, yeah. Hey, come on. We've all been there. Am I right, Steve? We've all wanted a morning crawl. Yeah, when you know, yeah, when you know what you want, you'd be willing to crawl to get there. No way. Just full on just going after. I guess getting after it. Yeah. Early morning, small town coffee shop, like very airy in there. You know, a lot of, a lot of natural light, a lot of windows. You're not hiding. Yeah, they're not like...
Starting point is 00:13:05 This is in a back room. Oh. This is in front of the fireplace next to the kitchen. Sounds pretty romantic to me. Yeah, it sounds like they probably had a good time. Dinner in a movie. Oh, wow. That's, that's too bad.
Starting point is 00:13:16 So, these are Iowa updates. Yeah, can you imagine like they're like making out and they're like, so anyway, what is your, what is your translation? Oh, mine says, time in an axe. Mine says bereaved. I don't know. Mine says begotten. What is one and only?
Starting point is 00:13:32 Okay, interesting. Huh. All right. Steve said somebody. You're so cute when you say begotten. Say it again. Whispered in my ear. Maybe they were married.
Starting point is 00:13:41 We were like, I don't know if that makes it that much better. You're still making out in public. Yeah. Yeah. I bet they were. I bet because that's like a sure side of like married couples is like, let's go in public and let's make out there. Yeah, yeah. We have our home.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Let's go there. Unreal. Walking around in the cold and. I reminded me of Steve Crawlin. That reminded me of a story with my dad. They took us out to Medi's the other night. Shout out, Mom and Dad. Thank you. And, well, oh, dude.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Win in the week? Can I do a win of the week on Monday? We went out to Medi's after Haddy's basketball game. Haddy's basketball game, first ever bucket. Okay, she scored. I went crazy, dude. That's fun. I couldn't believe it, dude. Like, she played this girl.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I think I talked about it the first week. maybe this girl was, I genuinely think she's six feet tall or close to it. And she's Patty's 10 years old. Like she's in that same age group. Whoa. And this girl's blocking everything. And all of a sudden, little short haddy, she's the shortest one on her team, gets the ball and shoots it and makes it. And I was, I had to like control myself.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I stood up. But I could only, I mean, I don't stand up for every basket we make. So it's like, I was like, yeah. JPEU chest? I thought about it. Like shoved in. in that tall girl's face told you. Anyway, but after that game, I went to Medi's.
Starting point is 00:15:07 And my dad is so awesome. And I think, but every once in a while, he knows humor, but I don't think he's quite as, like, comedically timed as my mom's so funny. She's got it. She's got it. My dad sometimes is like,
Starting point is 00:15:21 ooh, swing and a miss. No problem, dad. So, dad, big iced tea guy. Loves ice tea and specifically likes a lot of ice in his iced tea. And so if you can understand, if there's a lot of ice and your iced tea, you can drink it pretty quick because there's not that much liquid in the cup. And so he's probably drank, I mean, 10% of his iced tea. And this woman comes by and he's like, she's like, uh, more iced tea.
Starting point is 00:15:50 And he's like, uh, sure. Or maybe she said, unsweet tea. He's like, yeah. And she's like, okay, I'll go get you another one. And we both kind of looked at each other like, that's kind of crazy. Because I, I drank all my drink. And she didn't ask for a refill. It doesn't matter. went after his, which looked pretty cool. But then, I mean, time lapses probably 20 minutes, 30 minutes. I don't know how long. And finally my dad had drank all his tea, and she comes back with a new one. And I think probably she was waiting until he drank all his tea to bring him one.
Starting point is 00:16:20 But jokingly, trying to be like kind of fun with this girl. She brings him another iced tea. And he goes, well, it took you about 30 minutes to get it to me. But yeah, thank you very much. and I just go, Dad, that sounds so rude. Yeah. And you don't, he didn't mean to, like, he was definitely, like,
Starting point is 00:16:39 joking around with her. He was trying to find the right middle ground of, like, being sarcastic with the situation, and he kind of just said exactly what happened. She was kind of fun, and she, like, she had, like, come to our table a few times to bring us bread or whatever. But it was just like, Dad, if she doesn't know you, and he didn't, he did it pretty deadpan, too.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Like, oh, it took you about 30 minutes to get it to me. He was like, Dad. What do you do? And so I had to like, I had to be like, Dad, that sounds like in front of her. I was like, that sounds rude. You're being, you're being funny. He's like, oh, yeah, I'm being funny, you know.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Being funny. Anyway. My son's a comedian. Listen, those podcasts. It's called, what's it called, Brad? Blue jeans. No, I was kidding. So, anyway, he's just, that's great.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Oh, yeah, 30 minutes to get to me. Three about 30 minutes. Oh, man. So, anyway. You got any funny dad stories, Timmy? I was trying to think. I'm sure, like, I feel like I relate to some things you say about your dad in some ways, but I can't think of a specific thing.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Yeah. He's definitely said something like, oh, so funny. Just because he's genuine. My dad, the nicest guy. Yeah. And so, like, his attempt at sarcasm just didn't go well. It's like, Dad, just stick to being nice. Just be the really sweet dad.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Yeah. You need to be anything else other than that. Oh, man. That's funny. It feels like something Isaac would say, but I can't think of a specific example of recently where Isaac's done that. I texted Isaac yesterday because I was at this Home Depot that we've been to, we've been to so many times that we have like specific hilarious memories there.
Starting point is 00:18:08 I was like, remember that one time where we drove over a speed bump too fast in my old truck and something just fell off the underside of it? Like he's like, dude, that's crazy. And then there was another time where we like rushed to get there. It was like it was closing in eight minutes. We get there in six minutes. We come back and Isaac's, we drove Isaac's dad's SUV and the tire was. flat on it, like just completely, like, hit a nail in the parking lot.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Anyway, I've just great times with Isaac. So, uh, I didn't even write this down. I'm glad I remembered it. We need to talk about something that happened in our neighborhood yesterday. Did you see this? No. I maybe, I should have texted you. You'd like to walk.
Starting point is 00:18:47 You could have crawled over there and seen it. So on what time? All day. What? On this street. But down at the end. Okay. You know, when you get to the main street.
Starting point is 00:18:58 I was trying to, I think I came back from, oh, Tyman and Coley and Isaac and I, we all got a little breakfast yesterday. I was coming back home and I can't pull onto my street because they've got, and I'm not exaggerating. I couldn't count how many cop cars there were and they weren't like patrol cars. It was like big black SUVs that all said like police on it. So I would say somewhere between nine and 12 black SUVs are all down at the end of this like road at the intersection. I'm like, what in the world? Also, do we, does Shawnee have 10 SUV cop cars? Are we bringing these in for other towns?
Starting point is 00:19:34 Oh, we're strapped, baby, yeah. Yeah, that just feels like a lot of the non-patrol cars. So there's like 10 cop cars and then an ambulance. Oh, I was going to say, was there a fire truck or anything? Yeah, I mean, it's like kind of, you know, you can't really stop it stare, but you're trying to go as slow as possible and, like, really look at everything and go, man, what in the world is that? And I'm trying to get closer, and they've got the road blocked off.
Starting point is 00:19:56 I'm going to home for about an hour, and then I go to correct opinions, I think, well, I got to go down. Yeah, oh, yeah. Yeah, you got to get stopped and be like, what's going on here? I'll turn around. Sorry, yeah. Yeah, I know in hindsight, I was like, I should have given myself more time, so I could have walked into it. And so this time, I take a little lap around, drive by again slowly. This time, about half the cop cars have left.
Starting point is 00:20:19 But on the street now that they've got blocked off, there is a white tent that they have set up and they've got like the size of it all tarps so you can't see like into it's like the blue medical tent and like what football they've got a white tent on the street and I see a woman in a mask and in gloves walking into the tent so immediately I'm going I'm like driving so I'm like chat gbt yeah yeah okay so here's the situation and I'm like talking to it like explaining everything well any guesses like what what happened on our street yesterday before I tell you okay what do you think in the movie ET yeah thank you when they when the government finds out there's an alien, this is what they do to the house?
Starting point is 00:20:59 Like they... Illegal aliens? You're getting political on? It's not getting into that. It's not that, is it? I don't think they covered that on E.T. Golly. I've seen it.
Starting point is 00:21:07 E. T's ahead of its time. But they like... It's during repeats itself. They made like tarp tent and they all had masks and gloves. So they found a extraterrestrial being. That's a good guess. That's my main guess. Dang. That was mine too, but I'll go a different route, I guess.
Starting point is 00:21:24 That's... First of all, I mean, That's just crazy. A white tent on our street. That's scary. Yeah. Like we got like someone's age zero for some. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:34 We got like slime like in the in the sewage or what? I mean, slime. I mean, the fact there were so many cops initially, I guess, but the cops left, but I was like,
Starting point is 00:21:44 is there a B-O-M-B or like something like that? But then that happens. Maybe it's like terrible mold situation or like, You got a mold on your mind, huh? I do. Because I'm like, yeah, very burdened by this. What else could it be, timing? Let's sink.
Starting point is 00:22:05 There's the cops, the fact there are so many cops. And not patrol cops. These are like, when I looked up, I think these are like detectives. No, so, it's like a crime scene. Yeah, it's like, they got, they're not touching anything. They're getting fingerprints. Was there a guy that looked like Horatio from C. Miami there? Dude, yes. In my radio, I was like on Spotify and it was like, it like switched.
Starting point is 00:22:31 And they're like, it switched that. It's interesting that it all got almost medical seeming. Like it's like they're inspecting. CSI is, dude. It's like the people that take the, the DNA for the crime scene investigation. That's what it stands for, timing. That's, that seems like that's got to be my guess. It's like some kind of burglary or something. Because you're right. detective side. Like, this is like a premeditate. Like, we are all going there. That's so many. It was so many. Like started to count and, you know, God was still driving when I was counting. Wow. It's kind of like, I was like, maybe they just don't have that much to do in Shaw and eat. So it's like, when there's one, it's like, hey, let's all go. You know, like, you remember that scene in the office with Gabe where he's like, I could call corporate. Yeah. That's what I'll do today.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Like, he was excited because he was like, I have something to actually do. I can call corporate. Like, maybe these guys were like, man, we're waiting to swab something. There's nothing to swab. Finally. Yeah, swabable event. We got some swab time. Let's go. Swab team. Bought this tent six months ago. I thought I'd use way more. Man. Yeah. How do we use this? How do we anchor into the ground?
Starting point is 00:23:40 That's my guess. What is, what does GPT say? So, in law enforcement and forensic work, the large white tint that you saw are often called scene of crime tents. They serve three main purposes. Privacy. forensic focus or evidence preservation.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Wow. So they said like the woman in the mask that you saw, like they suggested she was a forensic pathologist or a crime scene investigator. Yeah, dude. Forensics. So I feel like, I don't think I'm jumping too many conclusions to say like there could have been a homicide on our street. Mysteriously? Across the street, Dennis.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Taking out the trash. Taking out the trash later night. Dude, that's wild though. that's okay now I specifically was it the corner lot or was it like I couldn't tell which house it actually was but you know there's like three they're kind of options right there because have you noticed now it's getting the details here I tracked Dennis one night dude I go on walks and so when you go on walks you notice things that you never notice when you're driving okay yeah because you just walk past slower yeah so uh the house on the corner I think it's house on the corner or like one of
Starting point is 00:24:50 those houses has all these signs up like yes you know what I'm talking about so when I drove back by you know at like 5 p.m. yesterday road was clear and I start noticing all these signs it's like very not even passive aggressive just aggressive like it's like they clearly have an issue like one neighbor to the other like no trespassing on our lawn you cannot pass this like some like lines like that right so the sign I saw it said criminal's trespassing and I was like is this from earlier today or is this sign always been here oh criminal what I think that's what it said like you know you are a criminal if you trespass here I think Yeah, something along those lines is, yeah, similar to, yes, that's what I remember too.
Starting point is 00:25:27 So it's like, and the house next door to that house is like a duplex that has a lot of people out. I think it's like a lot of kids and stuff is what I see. I mean, it's one of those two dwellings, though. Okay. The duplex or the sign house. That was the side of the street that it was on. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, dude, I think there's something there.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Ooh, that's scary and wild. It was crazy. I was kind of excited. I had a reason to download the next door app. I'd always, I've heard, I've heard memes about it for 10 years. Yep. I downloaded it ASAP. I put in my neighborhood, nothing.
Starting point is 00:25:58 The next door app is awful. Have you been on it? Are you on it? I tried back in the day for woodworking purposes like, oh, maybe I'll get, I got into like some of the rich neighborhoods, basically. And I'll recommend myself for this. Yeah, it's all just like people offering services. And it seems like the people offering them are very different than the people who need them.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Or like, they're not the same thing. You should have started the conversation. You should have been like that. But then all of a sudden, you're getting interviewed. Like, no one is going to talk about this. I know people see it. I've searched Twitter. I've searched just like Google, just like Shawnee, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Putting the street on there. Like, there's nothing. I know. I'm trying to think if I know anybody in the police. I don't know anybody in Shawnee. I know a city councilwoman, though. I'll ask her if she has a connection. I do want to like figure that out.
Starting point is 00:26:46 That's crazy. Yeah. Yesterday. Yeah, kind of fired me up. I might, can I text her right now? Yeah. You think that... Because I can't find anything online.
Starting point is 00:26:54 It truly, it makes me feel insane. They're like, someone's got to talk about this, right? A concerned neighbor or a news outlet? Yeah. There was a homicide. Or slime. All right. How do, kind of, I'm going to say, kind of random question for you.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Do you have any way to figure out... What? Went down on street? yesterday. To figure out what went down? What transpired? That sounds. Ooh, that's good. Yeah. A console one would like that.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Yeah. Like 10 police SUVs and a white tent on the street. My kids are worried their slime. Nice. Forensics. Yeah. Oh, man. I'm still that word in there. Strogo.
Starting point is 00:27:50 SUVs capitalize the first S and the last ass, I can't do that to her. A couple subs. In a white forensics tint. Yeah. Possible slime. Possible E.T.
Starting point is 00:28:04 My friend thinks. Kind of scary. That way. Yeah. The people are concerned. You represent us. Didn't know if you had any connections to... Didn't know if you were involved with the crimes.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Are you saying? Police. I didn't know if you were a victim or the guilty party. Department. And could shed some light. I've had a lot of cop cars on my street before in the parents' house. And what happened? I think that across the street from us, like, the couple...
Starting point is 00:28:38 I think this happened. Like, I think that the details of the story. They were, like, held at gunpoint in their home. And the guy, like, fled on foot. And they thought he maybe was hiding in, like, the pawn on our property. Whoa. But, pond hideout.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Then I think he like, like got far enough that he was like in Missouri. And then like the police that were on our street like didn't have to deal with them anymore or something like that. Oh. Like, but there were some people who this woman who goes to our church who is like, has boarded horses on our property. She was like around for like take care of the horses. And she was like, she was like, she was like, I was a young kid.
Starting point is 00:29:14 I was, she was scared me. She was like, he's probably in the pond like breathing through a straw. That's what I was going to say. Like one of those like Robin Hood, like a little straw, like snorkels. But that was like the wildest probably crime-related thing that's happened near me. In a pond, breathing through a straw, I'd rather be in prison. Just lock me up at that point. Gosh, I don't even want to survive.
Starting point is 00:29:36 I'd be so nervous. I don't want the straw to poke out too much, but I can't see, I can't have it go down. Then I'm really going to start splashing. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I haven't thought about that for a while. That's such a like movie-worthy crime, I feel. It's like actually like, oh, like you, someone was held up and then the guy ran on foot.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Yeah. It's like, yeah, I don't know. Have you ever heard of in cold blood? No. It's a pretty famous book by Truman Capote. Okay. And it's about this like very, very random murder in like the middle of nowhere, Kansas. Like this guy just came and just killed these people in cold blood.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Like in other words, like they weren't defending like he just. He's had to like it to scratch an itch? I don't remember. I feel like they were somehow trying to get away from something, but like he did not. Like it was not like they put up a five. I don't remember the details very well. I read in high school. But yeah, kind of crazy.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Like just like, that's wild. You're holding me up at gunpoint. I would just enjoy my bagel. Yeah. Like why am I? Why is this happening now? Yeah. Sounds good.
Starting point is 00:30:36 I don't know what the crime was, but there was a point when I was praying high school, middle school back in Stratford where there was like a manhunt happening. There was like a helicopter like flying low above our house. And I was like, wow. Hope he's not in my bond. I hope they get him. If you're a police officer, that's got to be, that's got to be one, one, one as far as things I want to do. Got to be.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Yeah. Like, give me in a helicopter and hunt down this guy. Yes. It'd be awesome. For all the traffic tickets and things you got to deal with, you're just, you're yearning for a man hunt. Yes. What else? I mean, listen, okay.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Police chase. We're not trying to be insensitive about any of these things, but let's just, just, yeah, police chase another one. That would be fun. Yeah. I think just like a holdup at a bank. Yeah, like having to go in and save the day. Yeah. Yeah, it would be wild.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Hmm. I think anything with like, hey, we found a meth lab, I don't think I'm intrigued by that. I don't want to deal with these, these kind of people. I don't know. They're unhational. Who knows what can happen. Also, meth labs blow up. I like going down to the docks or like some kind of like warehouse.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Like finding somebody in like an abandoned warehouse. house, you know? Going down to the duff. Like, you can, you could see through, like, to this, to the inside of this because the, like, one of the windows is broken. Like, that's, like, the light is going through there from that. What about a, what they call them, stakeout? Like, an overnight, wait and see.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Steakout, I think is, it's more glamorous on the, on the movies in my life, man. Yeah. Mr. Incredible and Frozo and make it look fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard about stakeout. What's that church called? First Baptist of something, like, over on, like, 75th and, and not. maybe.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Okay. And there's like a little steeple there and there was like a drug ring happening across the street. And so these people stayed in this steeple for weeks. Like on a stake out. Yeah. Pretty cool. Sounds pretty glamorous. She's doing read receipts and she's not read it yet.
Starting point is 00:32:34 It's been three minutes. She is not addicted to her phone. Dang it. She also works in the Capitol building. So maybe she's in like session or something. Topeka? Yeah. That's the one we got here.
Starting point is 00:32:46 I didn't know if it was like the... Yeah, I don't think she's a city councilwoman anymore. She's risen the ranks a little bit. Really? How do you know this person? Go start church. All right. So we got people out of church, okay? Wow.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Anyway, she's awesome, but that's the only person I can think of. That would know. What about your friend from extracted? Dude. He just kind of probably knows stuff. He knows things. I could probably, he could figure out how to get out of it. Dude, I, we...
Starting point is 00:33:14 What's his name? Can I look him up? Luke. Luke extracted. Yeah. Luke extracted, Ken's City. We, Catherine,
Starting point is 00:33:23 Catherine especially, I, as well, but like, Catherine was so into extracted. We watched, like, we kind of bench season one.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Like, we've already watched it all. Season one was awesome. Okay. Highly recommend watching it. It's crazy. I saw episode one. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:33:37 I would watch the rest of it. I mean, there's some things in it that I would love to talk to you about. Like, there's a few times. I think maybe in the first episode, That's the one I've seen where the model is like,
Starting point is 00:33:47 I made my parents sign a contract. And he's like crying. Who packed this fishing line? Give me out of here. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, this fishing line is terrible. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Did you also? I think we talked about this. There was a guy on there that was like, I'm so thirsty. I was going to take a chance on the lake water. He just throws off. 30 minutes later he's just yack and everything. Yeah, his son and nephew were back in the studio.
Starting point is 00:34:08 No. Stop. So that guy, there's a few other moments with him, Woody, that we got to talk about. about, but season one had the part-time clown too. That's right. I'm going to guess didn't stick around. Part-time clown. Maybe. I'll almost say it all. But yeah, it was awesome. So, anyway, yeah. We, I forgot what we were watching this week, but afterwards, extracted came on.
Starting point is 00:34:34 And so I have randomly now watched season two, episode seven. Okay. Whatever aired this week. Yeah, I've watched that. Okay. And season one episode one. And, uh, yeah. still good, even though I just got thrown right into it, you know, still got my attention. You know, it was something about like you can take money and that takes away how much bite of steak you get or whatever. That's right. Yeah, yeah. The steak one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:56 They just have a massive steak in front of you and just like take whatever you think you should. Yeah. Or whatever you need to win this competition or win the competition. The one I remember or like the part of the show, I feel like I was a little more glued to was there was like a little hidden message. You're not even a hidden message, but it says like, hey, there's a power card. go look for it. First of all, right away, I go, L-A-M-P, look, those letters are different. They never addressed it on the show. Really? I was like, oh, like the L, the A, the M, and the P are
Starting point is 00:35:25 like slightly brighter. Look, they need to check for the lamp. Whoa, you saw that immediately. I saw it and I go, Rachel, she was like reading. I go, look at this. I figured something out. Look, they need to check in the lamp. And the show's not talking about. No one's talking about the lamp. And then five minutes later, she's like, yeah, I found it behind this lamp. I could have told you that. Really? They don't even, yeah, they should have explained that. they didn't talk about it, I think, because none of them figured it out that they just didn't address it. Anyway, so I was ready to go on the show after that. I'll text Luke about it.
Starting point is 00:35:48 But these two girls find the card, and this card lets you, you know, enact some kind of policy where, like, basically you have to take things away from people as part of the game. And boy, you would have thought they were Satan himself. It was crazy. They got roasted for this, like, playing a game. I know. That's where I kept there. I was like, it's a game show. It's a game.
Starting point is 00:36:08 No one's going to die here. Your aunt is being. closely monitored off camera. She's fine. That's what's crazy is like, and you watch season one, like the whole thing. Like eventually it's,
Starting point is 00:36:19 it's much more taxing on the people in HQ than it is out. I mean, not truly, but like there's an emotional, like it is like so draining to watch. Like to watch people suffer. And then the one little comfort they have, you take it away from them.
Starting point is 00:36:32 It's like, it's your fault. Catherine, genius, and maybe this was not allowed, but Catherine was like, why not take the sleeping bag from one person, but gift the sleeping bag to that person too.
Starting point is 00:36:41 like that way you're like if you want to play really nice yeah yeah yeah i was like that's smart katherine they took one girl's blanket away from her and her family was like she's not gonna make it you know she can't make it without a blame yeah she doesn't have fire sorry should have built a fire probably it's a game show it's a game show l-a mp was right there i couldn't believe how just like i don't know and they were acting like it was real life and i'm like this is not real life this is a game i know but at the same time why would you do that to her she's struggling I'm trying to win a million dollars. Yeah, I'm trying to win.
Starting point is 00:37:15 I got the power card. It's in a lamp. Hey, we are and have continued to be presented and sponsored by Main Street Roasters. We are. We are! Main Street Roasters. MSR. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I just have nothing but positive things to say about Main Street Roasters. It has been a constant joy every single day. I've been on these streaks, dad streaks, trying to get up. at the right time, read my Bible, and it is a package deal reading my Bible while drinking my Main Street Roasters every morning. Today, I had a different coffee shop because I met for table setters. And I can confidently say Main Street Roasters is significantly better than this coffee. Yes, very high quality, very high in taste. And I'd say high in character. And as I continue to be on a bit of a health kick, coffee's great. Yes. It's just so good. You drink the black coffee.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Right. And you get what you want. You get what you want. You get it. a little energy. Yep. Get a little appetite suppressant and like no calories. No calories. So Mainstrocers.com, they got all sorts of, if you want flavored coffee, they have that, some awesome flavors. Jamaica can be crazy is one that's really popular with them. This is butter, butter pecan one or whatever it is? Yeah. Or if you just want like straight single origin, which is my preference. I really like the Columbia. That's what I've been into lately. It is my, I was going to try a few. If you're out of way to do Escobar, Esco Star.
Starting point is 00:38:44 You know that old, have you seen that old SNL skit with Chris Farley? We're supposed to be a hidden camera, the Colombian coffee crystals. But I mean coffee crystals. What? What? I love that, dude. Someday we should do that for major roasters. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Next time we're ever in major roosters, let's shoot that there. Oh, dude. Sir, what if I told you this is actually not single origin, Colombian coffee? Oh, yeah. I send that gift all the time of him like kind of smiling but also mad. Well, what? Yeah, it's instant coffee. Come in coffee, Christmas.
Starting point is 00:39:20 It's so good. It's supposed to be this like hidden camera show where it's almost like, I don't know, imagine if like Coke is doing a thing where like, we told you it was Coke, but it was actually Pepsi. Yeah. And it tasted really good, right? They're doing that with whatever, you know, brand they have. And, but it's a Chris Farley skit.
Starting point is 00:39:35 So everyone else is like, oh, wow, I didn't realize I was having that. Wow, that is good. And Chris Farley loses. his mind and just breaks everything choking people. I mean, like, it's so funny. That's how I feel towards when I don't drink Main Street Roasters. Like, this is actually Folgers Coffee Crystals. What?
Starting point is 00:39:53 Oh, yeah, 100%. I have to watch that right now. Anyway, Mainsteroaster.com, GRCC,'s a promo code 10% off. The best coffee around, the only coffee that I want to drink. It's Mainsteryroasters.com. Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of things that they don't show on the actual show,
Starting point is 00:40:11 I have been watching the behind the scenes, Mr. Beas. I haven't watched season or the last one yet. Have you watched it? We watched it last night. I watched like 15 minutes. I was like, dang it. I should watch it.
Starting point is 00:40:21 So that Jake, if I was late and so I was like, it's okay. But in the behind the scenes episodes, which are so good. So good. So, like almost more interesting to me than the actual show.
Starting point is 00:40:31 Yeah. Jim and Monica get married? And they don't even talk about it. Yeah, so to speak. I mean. Kind of? Yeah, while everyone is at the island, they like... Common law, marriage thing.
Starting point is 00:40:42 I was like, what? They don't even talk about it or like, like, part of me is like, oh, they're, they already broke up or something. Like, that's why they're not talking about it. I don't know. They're still in like TikToks together and stuff. Really? Yeah, I've, like, seen screenshots of them doing stuff.
Starting point is 00:40:55 I wouldn't put it past him to do it for some money, though. Yeah. You know? Also behind the scenes, somehow, you know, Corey, one of, like, the final 10 or whatever, one of his posts got shown to me on Instagram, and it was him, like, praying next to like one of his hearts. And it was just like a behind the scenes photo. He was like,
Starting point is 00:41:11 you don't see everything that happened on camera. But basically just laid out, he's just like such a like solid Christian guy and all this guy edited out. And I thought the comments made a really good point. They're like, it's too bad this guy edited out because Christians were edited to look poorly in season one. Remember that one guy? He was kind of the preacher who was a little too much and kind of rubbed everyone the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:41:28 I forget his name. The Scragly guy. Let me pray about this decision like like like that's decent. Like that's a fair logic. Like I want to play. But yeah. I feel like it was kind of a bad. look at times and it would have been nice to kind of yeah i did see in the making of like they
Starting point is 00:41:43 showed him praying over his heart like for one second and i know okay got so maybe that was a screenshot yeah um yeah they made me like cori honestly i liked a lot of them they were there at the end me too isaac was there yeah i guess who brett was there corey yeah anyway i'm intrigued i watched one yeah one one person got their heart smash. That's all I've seen so far. Yeah. Anyway. Episode nine, I think, is what I watched
Starting point is 00:42:13 Randallie with Isaac in Phoenix. Just episode nine? Yeah, I think because that's the one where they're all in their pods and they're like go, yeah. That was super interesting. See? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Was it interesting? That's like, I found myself having heavy eyes watching that and I look over at Catherine. She's completely asleep. Oh, really? Yeah. I don't, those ones don't do it for me
Starting point is 00:42:33 nearly as much as like the games. I mean, that's a game, I guess in itself. I think it was, it was fun because I was just like asking Isaac the whole time, like, okay, what's like this person's history or like what?
Starting point is 00:42:42 I don't know. Like I was kind of learning. It was my first time being introduced to these people. So it was like probably more interesting. But yeah. Yeah, August is like, you guys had kind of praised August.
Starting point is 00:42:53 But then it was like he, Isaac was like, I liked him up until this. Yeah, he got a little, I don't know, almost like a dictatory. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:01 he let his emotions. He was like frantically running around the whole time. He's interesting. Yeah. Yeah. He said, am I cooked like eight times? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Cooked, man. I tried to use that the other day. Didn't pull it off. Your dad used it with the waitress. Yeah, you cooked it for like 30 minutes too long. Man, you didn't bring me back. My refought that I was cooked.
Starting point is 00:43:20 I was cooked. That was cooked. He cooked. You brought it. You goaded for bringing it. Oh, man. Thanks, tuts.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Thanks, thanks, thanks, thutz. Anyway, you've been to Arizona and back. Yeah, I've done a lot of stuff. time it's been there for a lot of it.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Right before we start recording, you go, hey, those new videos you came out with. You look good. You look great. Say you why, I look good. A little bout with food poisoning, right before content day. You did look slim, brother. I'd say it's a little bit of a secret recipe.
Starting point is 00:43:50 I'd like to go out there. What do you think did it in? Did you in? I can't figure out what it was exactly, which means maybe it was like a stomach bug. I don't really know the difference. One of them is caused by food. That's what Rachel said too.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yeah. And I'm like, I don't know. It seems like either. way, I have the same symptoms, so it doesn't matter. Purged. Unfortunately, when it was time to purge, was when I was sitting in the window seat of an airplane. No, dude, you've been having that. I know what's happened.
Starting point is 00:44:16 You're almost like getting conditioned a little bit. I know so. I've yacked on an airplane, which is like a bottom three experience of my life. I did that last week. In your seat or did you get up? I, it was close. Dude, the heavens opened up for me to even make it to the bathroom because there's drink carts going.
Starting point is 00:44:30 The women next to me are not happy with me having to get out. And then a guy left the bathroom. Like when you, your. body tells you it's time. I'm not like waiting like for a guy like oh maybe he'll come out soon. Like I was asleep. You wake up. You go, oh boy. 30 seconds to lift off. 30 seconds to lift off. Oh really? You know, I'm like, excuse me, excuse me, I'm going up and then like scoot past a drink car late and then a guy leaves the bathroom. I didn't even know if it was empty or full or whatever. Thank goodness. God knows what
Starting point is 00:44:54 he didn't hear before me. Throw my head in it. Oh, bro. So. Yeah, it is one of the things you talk about being conditioned where you know if you eat something and then you throw up you had this aversion like I don't even want to really think about Taco Bell 100% I would say I experienced one third of that when I think about flying windows seat on an airplane again there is a little bit of it you feel bad for me but there is a little bit of like mental I kind of don't want to be in that spot again you got to like if you were if you were in the middle of the airplane you got to go either back or front next time you have to change it up in some I think I got to be an aisle guy to I get over this I think so too oh yeah especially like yeah for that fear yeah right yeah I
Starting point is 00:45:31 I did not like how it felt being in the window. Oh, man. Wow. I'm sorry to hear it. So was it just one and done? It was one trip. I did one trip earlier in the flight when I, you know, we had a bit of a, you know, red herring. And then had to ask them to go again.
Starting point is 00:45:47 And then I was, I was gone for a lot longer at that time. But felt pretty good afterwards. Okay. And yeah. Skin and bone now. Seriously. You did. You looked great, man.
Starting point is 00:45:57 I was like, wow. Jake looks awesome. So. Thank you. Yeah. tan from Phoenix, a little, a little yak session, yeah, ready to film some content. So tell me more about, yeah, break, breakdown Phoenix. The trip almost feels like it, like, it was so long.
Starting point is 00:46:12 It was like two trips because like at the end of the trip, you know, me, Isaac and time, they were the ones who went there first. Like, dude, isn't it crazy that like a week ago, Isaac crawled through the doggie door to get in that Airbnb? You know, it's like, wow, that was the same week. That was amazing. Tell that story. That was unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:46:30 We need to put some footage of that in the video. So there is a little bit of movie magic. Pretty much Isaac had fully committed to like, I'm going to go through his doggie door. And then we finally heard from the area. I did get in touch with Airbnb corporate support, all this. And then who knows what they did to get this guy to finally text me back. Hey, man, so sorry about that.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Yeah, it's 6-714. Was that so hard? Yeah. And Isaac was like, I kind of want to crawl through it anyway. He's like, let's do it. So, yeah, we filmed it anyway. I couldn't believe that he got through it. It was a bit of an optical illusion.
Starting point is 00:47:00 It just looked, it's a doggy door. It's a small doggy door. Yeah, it looked like something that I could have fit through. Like, after he did it, I was like, how did he do that? Uh-huh. Like, because, I mean, it, it didn't look like, like, the image of it looked like no one could fit through it. But then when he did it, it was like, oh, he did that.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Tons of space. Easily. Yeah. It kind of scares you for a doggy door. I don't think I'm, you know? Whoa. Anyway. Yeah, that's a good point.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Yeah, it makes sense why it was so heavily locked. Like, Yeah. Because, you know, who else could get through it? Yeah, it would have to... Yeah, so we... We stayed in... Even before we ever got in it,
Starting point is 00:47:39 I had been referring to this first air would be as, like, the rat's nest. It was like, look, we're there to sleep. We don't need to spend much money on it. And then when the rest of the crew gets there, we'll get a nicer one with the pool and whatnot. And, yeah, it was even, like, lower quality than I thought it would be.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Just the most bare bones... What did you call it, timing? Errism? Airbnb. Airbnb. Oh, that's good. So, so bare. I mean, truly, like, didn't have, like, didn't have cups, didn't have soap, didn't have paper towels, didn't have blankets.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Just, like, really didn't have, like, didn't have a nightstand, didn't, you know, just really didn't have anything. We might have been living in, like, a squatter's home that he just, like, opened up for us for a few days. So that's kind of like when we went and watched you do stand up that one time, Harrison, Isaac and I? When we watched the last dance. Yeah, it was kind of like that. No, you didn't, you never went to our place. I thought I went there to watch the last dance with you guys. No, we watched the last dance at your place.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Oh, really? I thought. Huh. This place that we went to was awful. Like, truly, like, it felt like, I don't even know. It felt like one of those, like, uh, dorm, like, style rooms that you stay in when you go on, like, a mission trip. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:48:50 It's just rough. Yeah. Yeah. It was like, just like concrete walls. It was like, this is, this is allowed. Like, yeah. It was fine. just like when you become accustomed to everybody, it's like, wow.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Yeah. No hand soap? Yeah, it was like, it's such an easy thing to do. Okay. So it's like comfortable and fine, but just not furnished. Like there was no, yeah, no soap in the showers. It was like, oh, I guess we got to buy some. Yeah, that's, that's an easy, easy add on.
Starting point is 00:49:14 But maybe this guy's like, I'm just keeping it simple. Like, you literally couldn't wash your hands in the Airbnb. There's no soap and nothing to dry your hands with. It was like, oh, this is, I mean, we're three dudes. We're got to be fine, but it's just like, that's kind of surprising. You've gotten away with this up to this point. That's crazy. crazy. And somehow this is kind of just like dumb on all of us, I guess, but very quickly,
Starting point is 00:49:34 you know, we go through the doggy door, we're picking bedrooms and, you know, Isaac takes this room. I go, great. Me and time, we'll take the one with the two, like, twin beds in it. Awesome. But my stuff in there, I'm like about to go to bed. And for some reason, I go to turn off a light in the living room. And then I just don't come back to Tywin's bed because I discovered the master bedroom. Oh, I went to turn off the light. I was like, oh, there's an entire mat. I didn't even know. Huh. All right. Well, Tywin will figure it out. in the morning that I'd ever came back. It would have been really funny
Starting point is 00:50:02 had we slept in the same room and then in the morning found the master bedroom. Oh, geez. At Medcan, we know that life's greatest moments are built on a foundation of good health from the big milestones to the quiet winds.

Starting point is 00:50:37 It was like, I kept trying to ask you questions and you were icing me out, man. Answer me, dude. Yeah, Isaac did not know that you'd found it. Like in the morning, he walked into my room and he was like, where's Jake? I was like, oh, he found a whole other room. He's like, what? He went exploring. Was it hidden?
Starting point is 00:50:52 He had to crawl. No. No. No, not really. I mean, it was like around a corner or two. So it's like, I mean, you can't blame us. Yeah. Yeah, it was the house was 1,400 square feet.
Starting point is 00:51:02 So, I mean, there's a lot to explore and a lot to see. Yeah. We watched, we just got on Netflix and the first suggestion was like castaway. And we're like, yeah. I mean, I'd never seen it. Yeah. So we watched his first volleyball movie. Letterbox?
Starting point is 00:51:16 Four and a half out of five. It was so good. Wow. Yeah. Dang, I need to watch it. It's so good. Okay. I want to watch it again.
Starting point is 00:51:22 I'll watch it sometime. Okay. We watched it that night. It was great. I mean, this was just like a phones down. We're watching it. talking about it. Great movie. And then the next night, we kept joking about watching it again. But then time was like, so I did find a 28 minute behind the scenes documentary on YouTube,
Starting point is 00:51:37 the making of castaway. So we watched that the second night. And that was really good too. That's always fun. When you like are just so into one thing, it's like let's learn everything about this. Yeah. Yeah. Let's watch all the interviews, all the footage. That's cool. And it was interesting. Yeah, it was great. They shot at a full year apart. They did to do like before and then like after he spends years like in captivity, what he looks like. So Tom Hanks did about a of food poisoning basically. Seriously. You know,
Starting point is 00:51:59 to make it look like he'd been living on, you know, fish. Oh, that's pretty crazy. And he probably couldn't do many other movies during that time. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:52:06 I think he's just trying to slim down. Growing out his hair and bearding. Yeah, because he's also, yeah, trying to be a lot of scraggle. Yeah. See, that's fun. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Yeah. I, I love the idea, obviously not true, but like, I love the idea of Tom Hanks actually being one single person, like one character
Starting point is 00:52:25 and just in different movies. Does that make sense? Like, in other words, like, Forrest Gump also. It's like the cinematic universe of Tom Hanks. Yeah. It's all one. Because I've seen, I've seen like a clip of, did you ever watch Malcolm in the middle back in the day?
Starting point is 00:52:37 Didn't watch it, but. I didn't really like it. It's like dark humor about like, I don't know, like mean parents and terrible kids and all this stuff. But Brian Cranston is the dad in the show. And I've seen like clips of like Breaking Bad ends and then like it like turns into Malcolm in the middle. And I just love the idea of like that.
Starting point is 00:52:57 Like Walter Whitechian. changes his life, you know. Yeah. breaks good. Like witness protection and goes to Malcolm in the middle or something like that. So I love the idea of like, yeah, Forrest Gump gets stranded on an island for a while. I do like that. I bet there's a good YouTube video.
Starting point is 00:53:10 And a pilot. I think he's something like with Leonardo DiCaprio because one movie he like washes up on shore and the movie before that he like goes out to sea or something like something like Shelter Island versus inception or something. Yeah. That would be fun. You could easily find a comment thread in like Tom Hanks movie. think he's done so many and forest gumpy covered a lot of ground
Starting point is 00:53:30 woody he looks like castaway at one point yeah he does yeah woody yeah all of a sudden he becomes a cowboy a quick little toy um let's see what else in phoenix i mean we had fun we had a blast yeah two different herbivs scott and the other guys joined us later in the week and um man it was it was too bad you know scott like i continue to get to know scott more and more and like it's very clear to me that I think we've all known that Scott like has FOMO. Like I know and we all do to agree but Scott like really hates to miss out
Starting point is 00:54:04 on things. But I think you could like medicinally diagnose it like he needs to be on a prescription for the fomo he has. I think he just can't take it. And just like the text anytime we'd send anything you know Scott's like what are you guys doing it? Send me a picture. Yeah. And then we send a picture. Oh, that is FOMO
Starting point is 00:54:22 fuel to the max. Oh, I mean, let's just, let's just first of all acknowledge, like, who's using FOMO still? Like, Scott would, rizz to the shiz on the FOMO Max. Like, I forgot that happened after last week's episode. Like, Scott, Scott loves being, you know, seven years behind the times on certain things. FOMO fuel to the max was a taxi sent. And to perfectly illustrate this, this is early, this is only Monday. So we've only been apart from Scott 24.
Starting point is 00:54:53 We haven't even been there 24 hours yet. This is Monday afternoon. and we're watching Jada, one of our sponsored players, and Kyle is also playing on Monday. This is like the pro qualifiers. Well, the PPA does this thing where every court has basically a tripod and like a Samsung phone setup, and they're all streaming this. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:10 I saw, I saw timing on there. Yes. So it's a fun, it's a cool thing they do. So, you know, you don't have to be playing on the Chabitcho court to still have someone watch your games. And so, you know, we're all texting, hey, Jada's on court 32 or whatever. Great. Scott's probably the one viewer, you know.
Starting point is 00:55:27 It's like Scott and Jada's dad are like watching this court. And Scott's just like texting us constantly, any conversation he hears of us. Scott's like, Isaac, that was so funny, dude. Oh my gosh, timing, I hear you. What do you guys, wait, what are you guys talking about now? You know, like, Scott is very much involved. We kept joking and we're like, Scott is no more present with his family now than he would be if he was in Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:55:47 He's fully with us. Right, right. Yeah, like what's the point of him not being there at this point? And yet, then yeah, to top it off, he says, like Tywin, give me something. And Timmer, just tell what you said to Scott over the live stream. And then Scott is like filming that. I love that.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Scott filmed it. Yeah, it was so funny. Just dying laughing. Just loved it. So good. That was really funny, though. Yeah. So, yeah, Scott was very much with us in spirit, watching every live stream.
Starting point is 00:56:23 And, yeah, Monday's funny. We don't really go to a lot of these tournaments like on Mondays typically, but it's very chill. It's kind of like, it's just us and like the pro players out there are people like trying to become pros. So it's not really fans and just gets to meet a lot of people and see a lot of really good pickleball. You'd think there would be fans still if they're like high, high level players. I know. Yeah, I think they can probably get the word out a little better. Yeah, maybe they don't advertise that one as much as like the, because it's just a qualifier, you said.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Yeah, so it's, there's not as many matches, but still there's a lot going on. And yeah, Kyle won all three of his matches. so he qualified. What paddle was using? That was a Friday fever. Whoa, one or two. This is kind of fun.
Starting point is 00:57:01 I mean, Kyle's such a student of the game anyway. I mean, he's got his own online curriculum at school and everything. So he qualifies Monday. So then on Tuesday, not only does he know exactly who he's playing, but these are like pro players who've been on the tour for five years. So then the film session begins. So then the next 24 hours,
Starting point is 00:57:16 it's like a concentrated effort. We're all going to watch film on Rafa Hewitt and give Kyle everything he needs to know about us, tendencies and everything. So it was really fun. I mean, he pulled up, he pulled up, and we went whiteboard film session,
Starting point is 00:57:28 everything didn't help. I was going to say, did it make a difference? Yeah, it turns out those guys are just better at the end of the day. So, no, but it was really fun. Maybe it helped. It just didn't ultimately.
Starting point is 00:57:37 He lost less. Yes, maybe? By less, yeah. Okay. That's awesome. I love, I love, like, diagnosing pickleball. Yeah, watching film. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:57:47 Yeah. Yeah. A lot, there's a lot more discourse lately that I've seen that pickleball is more like chess or even like video games that it is tennis. And I've even heard that from like Rachel Roebocker are like pro player. You know, she was like, I played Division I like high level tennis. Like tennis, like you need to master the strokes.
Starting point is 00:58:04 But the strategy is pretty straightforward to tennis. It's like go for these angles at these times or go, you know, whatever. But she's like, pickleball is like just a flurry of options and strategy. And, you know, she's like you have so many more shots. And I think that's what's so addicting about it. The better you get, the more you realize you don't know. there is to discover. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:58:24 It's very fun. Yeah, it's probably, I mean, obviously it's a smaller court, and so therefore I don't think you have to be as, like, fast, like as much as you have to be, yeah,
Starting point is 00:58:33 yeah, you just have to be, like, smarter. Yeah, you have to, you have to know where to place it and when to take your risks and stuff,
Starting point is 00:58:39 whereas, like sometimes a sentence, it's like, I just got to survive and go get this ball. Like, this guy's serve is just better than I can return it. So there's nothing I can do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:46 It could be like that in baseball sometimes, too, or he's like he just, I've never seen a curveball like this, so he could throw it every time. Or just, yeah, if you can throw it fast enough, it's like, that's hard to hit. I don't care, I don't care how, you know, how good I have. That accurate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Dude, I saw a comment from a ghosty. Sorry, we can talk more about Arizona, but, um, some, we were talking about best athlete last week. And I've been thinking about this and I don't agree. And I don't know if they were being serious for that, but they were like, Tyler Tony is the best athlete of all time. Tyler Tony is the dude perfect beard, beardy guy. Like, I see that commented a lot.
Starting point is 00:59:19 lot. Really? I'm just like, do perfect poster. Just like, it's like, that's my goat.
Starting point is 00:59:24 That's an athlete of all time. Obviously, like, I mean, I don't, I think he is the most well-rounded, maybe of all time.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Like, but there's no way he's the best, right? But at the same time, I've thought about it for probably three days now. Like, it has really made me like, like,
Starting point is 00:59:40 wow, he is really good at a lot of things. Or at least, but then again, we could probably hit a baseball pretty well, like, just as a batting stand. or you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:59:50 Like, it's different to like play baseball versus take batting practice. I don't know. Yeah. But then again. It is definitely crazy, though, when you like, if you watch a lot of their videos, it's like how he does win everything and is really good at any sport. Yeah. It's kind of wild.
Starting point is 01:00:05 He's definitely athletic and he's definitely well-rounded. But I think a lot of people who play professional sports could do everything he does too. Yeah. Yeah. You're probably right. Like, or at least would get good enough at all of them. Yeah. Yeah, no doubt. I mean, he has a ton of hand-eye coordination,
Starting point is 01:00:21 but I think Steph Curry could do everything he does to. Yeah. I think most Major League Baseball players could do everything he does too. Yeah. I think baseball players just, that's the toughest coordination. Like, if you can do that, you can throw a spiral, you could shoot a basketball. You can probably figure out a bow and arrow. Haddy's starting to get into Dude Perfect a little bit, which is fun.
Starting point is 01:00:43 That's great. Yeah. It's like a rebirth. Yeah, it really is. And I never really like, I never really like, I never really got super into it. Like, really? I mean, I watched every once in a while. You're more legendary shots guy?
Starting point is 01:00:52 I was a, uh, ball of his life guy. I was just watching mixtapes of Andrew Wiggins. But, uh, yeah, we asked Pastor Sam the other night because Pastor Sam's always been a big, dude perfect guy. Right on. Like, what's your favorite dude perfect video? He's like the overtime videos. I was like, I don't even know what that means.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Yeah. Yeah. So we're starting to. Pastor Sam likes overtime. I guess so. That's what he says. That's what he says. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Howdy, how he loves the real life trick shots? I think those. Oh, those are. are great. Yeah. I'm with you, Hattie. Those are cool. She's like, they throw the spoon in the dishwasher. Yeah, you throw the DVD in the Xbox. That had to take a while. I know, pretty cool. So, yeah, those are good. Yeah. I might need to watch a couple of those. Okay. Look at my shirt. Okay. Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh, no. Magic trick. My microphone just fell off. I mean, how many times have we moved that microphone and it's never done that? How did that happen this time? Hey, better of you in my
Starting point is 01:01:46 shirt. This is a dumb microphone in the way. This is my new favorite sweatshirt. I didn't even notice the whole episode that it had that. It's very subtle, but right on the front there. It's a nice, just basic, it's very, but it's very cozy on the inside. Oh, it's cozy. It really is nice. I forget what it's called. You could find it. Just a nice cream-colored crew neck. It's so good. So good. So good. So good. Yeah, cozy earth.com. We have a promo code. It's GRKC. It'll get you 20% off. And great amount for whatever you want.
Starting point is 01:02:19 If you're looking for, what are you looking for? Timon. I'm looking for just like clothes that not only looked nice but also like feel like really nice in my skin. Say it with me Jake. Cozy Earth has it.
Starting point is 01:02:30 Oh, there's a solution. What else are you looking for, Timon? What's that? What else are you looking for? Good colors. A good discount. Say it with me, Jake. Cozy Earth has it.
Starting point is 01:02:39 What else are you looking for, Timon? Just. Maybe some bed sheets. I don't know, like. Come on, buddy. someone to meet to like spend the rest of my life with and like, is that not?
Starting point is 01:02:48 You want to say it with me. Pray about it to the Lord. Midge has it. Midge has it. That's her real name. You wanted cozy earth related. Sorry. Are you looking for bed sheets?
Starting point is 01:02:57 Cozy earth has it. Are you looking for amazing socks? I'm in their socks as much as I can't. Let me tell you a true story. And this is one of those times where it's like, should I say this on a cozy earth ad that's kind of not exactly completely positive about cozy earth? Yes,
Starting point is 01:03:09 because I want you to understand that I'm being completely honest when I say these things. Truthfulness. I bought some, I think they're called crew neck socks. Crew, no, what are they? Crew socks. Like the ones that aren't really long, but kind of long. Mid-calf. And they are too big.
Starting point is 01:03:23 I bought the large size. I should have gotten medium, I guess. They're too big. And so the part that's on your heel is actually up by my ankle. That's not how it's supposed to be. I wear them any time I have the opportunity anyway. When I run out of my other socks, I still wear cozy earth socks because they're that comfortable, even though they're not fitting right.
Starting point is 01:03:41 A wrong-sized cozy earth sock is still better than your next best. Yes. Yeah. Yes, dude. So whatever you want, whether it's, you know, on the lower tier of price, like a sock, all the way up to their high-end, you know, comforters or, you know, bedsheets, whatever. Cozy Earth has it. GRC is the promo code.
Starting point is 01:03:59 Check them out today. Fun fact. You ever seen Dude Perfect tried to do their own version of, like, ridiculousness? Which was that? Just like a clip's, you know, is Rob Deardick. Just like, it's like America's funny's videos. Oh, like curated, like. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Like, here's, this next six are all about skateboard fails. And then these next four were about five-year-olds slipping. Yeah, yeah. I think they tried to do their own version out, like family-friendly. It was on YouTube for like, I don't know, 24 hours. It was like the worst response to anything they've ever done. Deleted it. Deleted it.
Starting point is 01:04:29 They never tried, you know, made it unlisted or something. And like they never went back to it, never addressed it. Oh, bummer. Yeah. Was it like fans of theirs were basically doing the same thing they were doing, you think? Or was it like? maybe you don't know. I think it just, it felt so just like,
Starting point is 01:04:45 not them or, I don't know, like scripted almost, you know, it's just like, yeah. Even ridiculousness is not like that entertaining. But Rob Deerick has, you know, got a certain swagger to him. And I think this is just like, this is not your guys' thing. Yeah. You're like these scripted jokes are not hitting. Interesting. It doesn't feel like you were a thing.
Starting point is 01:05:01 It is interesting, like how well they kill YouTube. Like they are so, they're the best. Yeah. YouTube or one of the best. But like, they're doing podcasts. And I don't, I'm sure people are listening to it. But it's not. like they're just like dominate in the podcast world, right? You have to adapt in social media.
Starting point is 01:05:16 Like, you know, sure, you built this huge presence, but you can't do the same thing. Yeah. So like, just because you're this doesn't mean your podcast will be something either. Like, everyone's got to play the algorithm game. It's crazy. It's kind of exhausting. Yeah. It really is.
Starting point is 01:05:30 That's my podcasts are awesome. Yeah. When you don't really worry about clips too much and you kind of just do your thing. Do your thing. Because when you get clips that go viral, guess what happens? Nothing. Same old. Same old.
Starting point is 01:05:41 which is kind of fun to put out there. Yeah. We had a nice little content day. You know, when you guys are listening to this, this Friday, like this week is like Friday's biggest paddle, you know, project launch ever. So we put a lot of work into that. And just a couple days ago, we had all the boys. We rented a studio.
Starting point is 01:05:58 We had Tyman and Nathan Coley helping us out, which was awesome. Yeah. Looking great. Those two, yeah. Dominant forces together. That's good. It was great. So we had a ton of fun.
Starting point is 01:06:09 Yeah, you know, we're trying to make this big YouTube video, explaining everything, all these little shorts that you'll see over the next 10 days. And then, of course, just can't help it. Like, we're throwing Scott in outfits. Hey, Scott, why you tell me about this? Did you see the Instagram story where he was Jesse Pinkman? It's like, yeah. And then he like, he interacted too quickly on chili pee or something.
Starting point is 01:06:29 Yeah, he said the wrong thing. Just screams. Yeah, that was fun. Because I kind of took that a little bit. I mean, it was kind of writing it on the fly. I was like, all right, we do have these. In this one paddle, there's four different types of. foam and that is kind of interesting, but they're all like crazy names. I was like,
Starting point is 01:06:44 what if you ever seen that Keen Peelskit, where he's the Obama translator? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's kind of what I was like thinking of. I was like, but Scott, we're not black. Like we can't. Yeah. Like you can't just be my black friend. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It doesn't make any sense also. Right. Like you have to be a white guy. What if you were like Eminem or something? And he's like, what about Jesse Pinkman? Yeah, perfect. That's great. Yeah, there's not really any like recent white guys that you can use. So it's like Jesse Pinkman, Eminem. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Vanilla ice would be pretty good. Let's see. People say I look like Rick Springfield. Yeah, I could do that. And then, yeah, we had them as just like Italian grandmother playing that character. Nona. Nona. Yeah, Nona's Fettuccini.
Starting point is 01:07:28 That was fun. Because we are like, we're filing for our first ever like patent. Like we innovated something. And it's like a thin strip of rubber that goes in the paddle. But it is like a yellow color. it looks just like a noodle. Okay. And so we had our manufacturer, like, can you send us a bunch of, instead of putting in the
Starting point is 01:07:45 paddles, send us a bunch of those rubber strips. And so, you know, you put them all in a pan. I mean, it literally looks like spaghetti or something. And so Scott put a little hat on in an apron, he had a, you know, and then a pot full of, like, our rubber. And so as we try to talk about the features, you know. And none is for the genie, you know, no one can I steal this recipe. He's talking about the patent.
Starting point is 01:08:04 We filed a patent, you know. Oh, my gosh. Goofballs. Yeah. That's great. Way to blast. Did he go while time and were you stressed? How was it?
Starting point is 01:08:12 It was great. I think I loved how, like, even more so than Palm Springs, I felt it was like very, I was working a lot. I was like, this is great. I felt very utilized, but also a great balance of, like, having a great time. Yeah. Yeah, it was good. You guys playing a tournament, too? Are you talking about Phoenix?
Starting point is 01:08:29 I'm talking about Phoenix, yeah. Oh, I thought we were talking about, um, studio yesterday. How was, my bad, Phoenix is good? I don't know. studio, I'd say it was good. I felt like utilized. I felt like I was working a lot, but had a lot of fun.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Pretty much the same answer. It's not like Palm Springs. Yeah, can't wait to go back. Paul Springs. Like, yeah. Nice sunsets. Kind of like Palm Springs. Good gradients on the backdrops.
Starting point is 01:08:52 No, the studio was also great. Yeah. That's awesome, man. Yeah, it was good and well as well. Also as well. Only time I was decently stressed was when it was like, all right, take some good product shots of the paddles and the bag
Starting point is 01:09:08 and I was like, I don't know how the heck to do that. But I just kind of was like, I guess I'll put lights on them. So like whatever you do is going to look like. Yeah, I just did my best and I think it was fine. I was like, Time when you got this and I go in the back and me and Nathan are working on a YouTube video while he's doing that. And I come out 15 minutes later.
Starting point is 01:09:22 I look at one picture. I'm like, time when you have my full trust. Keep it up. I'm going back. Yeah. Yeah. So other than that, though, it was just like doing our thing, I think. It was similar to the fever,
Starting point is 01:09:32 fever content kind of where it was like we just light it well and you guys know what to say and it was great. Do you feel like you know what to say at this point? Are you picking up all this stuff? I don't know. I think that I wouldn't as well as
Starting point is 01:09:46 I should from having like filmed all this but I think there's definitely some talking points where I'm like yeah I kind of know what's up with these battles. I wondered how much you're like taking in because when we go on these trips especially back to permission to talk about Phoenix I know you want to. Okay. From Tuesday
Starting point is 01:10:02 I mean, all we talk about for eight days straight is pickleball. And every now and then, I'm like, time and are you, okay, do you need, do you want to talk newsies with me real quick? Like, do you need to, like a palate cleanser? Do you turn doing it? Yeah, like, we can throw on something, you know, one of the, the spider verse. You like the spider verse, I think, right? We can throw that on. You need.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Hey, what's the kid's name in that? Miles. Arales? Yeah, yeah, yeah. In that cartoon? Mm-hmm. Dude, Miles just reminded me, there were, we met a bunch of ghosties this week. we did this one event.
Starting point is 01:10:32 There were two like, hey, shout out. All right, here's, we can figure it out. There were two, like, younger, like, guys who showed up to this, like, exhibition, this showcase event we did. And at the end of the night, they told me they were ghosties. And timing thinks one of them
Starting point is 01:10:44 was named Milo. And I'm like, I feel like his name wasn't Milo. So I met only this guy that I think's name is Milo. I didn't, like, get introduced to his, was his brother that was, like, also a fan. Yeah. I didn't meet him.
Starting point is 01:10:57 I just met Milo briefly on championship court. Like, I was taking pictures. Oh, on a different day. Yeah. Oh, ships in the night. So I am 100% sure his name is Milo. Oh. Wow.
Starting point is 01:11:10 But we don't know if he listens to Ghostrunners. We just know that's the name of a guy you met. I think I'm 100, I am 100% sure. Shout on Milo for this thing. That Milo listens to Ghostro. Okay. Yeah. And your friend, whose name might be David.
Starting point is 01:11:24 How bad are you remembering names? Are you pretty good, usually? Well, here's what I'll say. There were four ghosty women who came at different. points to say what's up to us. And I remember three of the four. Okay. Let's shout him out. Shout out. Toulsa. Shout out Danny. Shout out Shannon. Yeah. Shout out that fourth girl. Dude. Dang. Those are those with the three that I know. I'm so sorry. I can't remember your face. Yeah. I know. I, sorry. Nice face.
Starting point is 01:11:46 Even like, I think they both had sunglasses on those. So it's like that makes it harder to remember anything. For whatever reason, dude, uh, I can remember. If someone says their first and last name to me. Easier. Easier for some reason. And sometimes it's like, oh, I recognize that name. But like I met a guy, I met some guys stay at table setters. Sam Gonzalez. You met him? Timon. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Cool. Timon knows him. He's a video guy. And so if you ever need, you know, timing and Cody don't work out. This guy is Gonzalez. Gonzalo. But then I met another guy. I forgot his name for a while. I had to, I had to like ask Will. I was like, what's that guy? Caleb. Now, but now I know his last name, no problem. I'll never forget.
Starting point is 01:12:26 For some reason, I don't know. And I'm really bad. I think sometimes I'm too concerned with the handshake. I'm too concerned with nail and that. That's where your focus goes. And so I, I'm focused on that and I'm like, heard your name, said hi, but I also had to say my own thing, Brad. I said I'd say my whole thing. I also do today. I'm almost like second hand, not even second hand, just like embarrassed reliving this moment. This guy that I've met a few times before. I'm now like doing some work alongside of him with some of these flip houses comes out to me and shakes my hand and completely, completely misses and, like, kind of just, like, shakes my thumb and, like, doesn't readjust.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Oh. He commits to the thumb. And then kind of goes, like, side hug while he's shaking. I was like, why didn't you readjust, bro? Why didn't you readjust? We all miss here and there. Readjust. I mean, it was like, it was like, it was like, he didn't even kind of, you know, sometimes
Starting point is 01:13:20 you kind of like get the wrong. Side. Yeah. Yeah. You miss some fingers. Yeah, you're, you're only three for four on the fingers or something. Like, you have to readjust. He didn't get my hand.
Starting point is 01:13:30 This guy, you know, starts to pee and it's like a little off the side of the seat and he just lets it go. That's what Bo does sometimes. This guy doesn't readjust. You have to look, Bo. Oh, sorry, Dad. You'd be great at ice skating, by the way. A guy who doesn't readjust. That's a great sign-filled episode.
Starting point is 01:13:47 You didn't readjust. I mean, I shake enough people's hands. You've done it. I don't think it's my fault. I do not put that on me. No. Yeah. And, man, I just, it was.
Starting point is 01:13:58 wild how how not good it was and how he didn't even like say anything about it oh got your thumb there oh sorry he's milking you i was like okay that i guess i guess that's it did you go for a handshake and he went to like dab you up and that's where the that's where the thumb grab comes into play but still readjust that would make sense from what i recall it didn't seem like a a dab you kind of go up high like you kind of get that angle ready you know we have different angles of release you know there's like a Randy Johnson versus like a Barry Zito. Like if you're, if you're going for the DAP,
Starting point is 01:14:32 you don't go in handshake level, right? You don't come in from 3 o'clock. No. You always got to be a lot. You got to be, you got to be nip high on the, on the shake. Your belly button high on the, or no,
Starting point is 01:14:42 nip high on the dab, belly button high on the shake, right? Yeah. I'm trying to think. I probably, yeah. I wonder if I dab too low. Time you'd be careful. Yeah, it's a risky.
Starting point is 01:14:52 You might get a fistful of thumb. I don't know, man. Me and Kyle Kazuda are good at doing the wrong thing. Like, we're pretty, I think maybe even three times in Phoenix. Like, I want to say fist bump that I,
Starting point is 01:15:07 and like, it's kind of, we just like, I think played up a little bit, but it's like fist bump that I turned into just like grabbing his fist on accident, but then it was whatever.
Starting point is 01:15:14 But then he was trying to hand me, it was like our first time, it's like a new morning, our first time seeing each other that day. He had my try. New morning. It was a new morning. It was a new day,
Starting point is 01:15:23 a new dawn. Never had it before. And he, he had my tripod bag and he was like giving it to me but we were also like seeing to that for the first time so I just I just I fist bumped him he's like oh I was he's like no this this is your bag take your bag take your bag take the bag come on it's a new dawn it's a new day yeah come on dude I'm feeling good a brand new morning yeah that's pretty funny oh Kyle Kyle Kyle's man he's great guys man hey Kyle's man so did you play in tournament in Phoenix
Starting point is 01:15:53 yes that tournament started at 8 a.m. and me and Isaac were knocked out by about 9.15 a.m. so technically, yes, I did give them my money to play. Was it your fault or was the competition too good? I would say Isaac and I would both agree we didn't play as good as we could have, but we were never going to win that tournament. This is like the 5-0 bracket in Phoenix, you know,
Starting point is 01:16:16 but would have liked to win one, maybe? This got what pretty bad. Close games, but yeah, still, you know, you lose the first match. Dang, that's too bad. Go to the losers bracket. lose that one. Ooh, it is 9.20. What do we do the rest?
Starting point is 01:16:30 I have a lot of electrolytes in my bag. I had kind of planned on being here a while. So what do we do now? I mean, there is stuff to do, but you're kind of like, I'm a little upset that I lost. I kind of just want to play more pickleball, though. That's why I'm upset. I lost.
Starting point is 01:16:42 I'm not ready to be done yet. I've been filming all week. I finally get to play. Maybe I should have been playing a little more this week to practice. The few times that KU has gotten like unexpectedly knocked out in the first round of the tournament, it always, I feel that way of like, I'm still excited to watch more basketball here, but we'd love to watch KU every once in a while. Yeah. You lost to Bradley.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Like, dang it. Yeah. The nice thing about being there all week is like it wasn't like we flew all the way of Phoenix and we need Isaac Nye to do well so we have a YouTube video. It's like, oh, we've got an overwhelming amount of content shot this week. This is kind of like a cherry on top, so it's not a huge deal. It was more so the fact that we were in all denim outfits that we had got screen printed and the rest of the day be like, how'd you guys do today? Oh, and two. Yep.
Starting point is 01:17:24 No, we wore these. We wore these. What are you guys up to? Yeah. That was more at the downer. I was like, oh, he's got to everyone here knows us.
Starting point is 01:17:31 You committed to the dinnum, though? You didn't change? No, we didn't change. Just stayed in it. You screen printed Friday on there? Yeah. I had to change of clothes,
Starting point is 01:17:38 but Isaac didn't. So I'm like, I can't change out of the denim. Solidarity. Yeah. Solidarity. So yeah, technically we did play in the tournament.
Starting point is 01:17:47 Okay. But it was great. There was, you know, they're called net cords and like tennis or pick a ball where it like skims
Starting point is 01:17:53 out the barrier, you know, to the top of the net, but it still goes over. So you have like no reaction time after it's hit that. And that happened probably like eight times. So I was like time and do you just want to quickly just do like a super cut of all the times it hit us. So we got some content out of it. Okay. Yeah. Just play the victim. It wasn't us. It's freaking net. Yeah. Nets are different here. Yeah. Nets are dry. Yes, dude. There's no humidity in these nets. Dry nets. Dry nets. They roll quicker. We practice on wet nets where I'm from. Yeah, big time. humid nets.
Starting point is 01:18:20 human nets. And nets were probably cold because like Phoenix usually, it was like really cold all week. Oh yeah, that was the joke. It was warmer here and it wasn't Phoenix. Oh, really? Maybe not at like 3 p.m. But yeah, morning, noon.
Starting point is 01:18:33 I mean, most of the time it was like, you check in Kansas City like, pretty nice at KC. Yeah. And we was like, this is just classic Phoenix. Yeah. This is why you come here. It was why you snowbird here.
Starting point is 01:18:41 38 degrees. Every morning was pretty cold. The morning of the tournament. Yeah, it was 38 when we got out of the van to like walk in. Yeah. So it's like 7.30 a.m. Well, at least the denim wasn't like excruciatingly like, no, seriously.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Like I feel like if it's hot, like denim would be rough to be in all day. Yeah, it was, we played that first game. I think we like warmed up and like multiple layers. And then as like the game starting, it's like, all right, now I'll take off this later. All right, after game one, all right, now I'll take off the pants. You've got to slowly and surely warm up. But yeah, it was not nice weather. Really windy.
Starting point is 01:19:12 Rained. Dude, here's the thing we learned. We're like, Kyle, do you need to call someone your neighbor, like their entire house is, I think their fire hydrant burst or something. He goes, oh, no, I know you're talking about. That's a thing down here. And sure enough, I started to see more and more houses. I don't know what kind of irrigation this is,
Starting point is 01:19:29 but they just purposely flood. I mean, like, it's going up to their foundation of their home. Like, their entire yard is flooded. And then it just slowly seeps into their ground. Obviously, they probably know what they're doing. I'm not a Phoenix soil expert. Looks so strange, though. It looked wrong.
Starting point is 01:19:45 It looked like, yeah, something could happen, like a pipe burst and they're out of town. dry that they just have to like, yeah, feed it so much, I guess, the soil. Yes, but also it's like, no one really even has real grass there. Who cares? Yeah, who cares? Interesting.
Starting point is 01:19:59 Yeah, there's got to be a reason for it, but. It's one of those things where now I'm really curious and Kyle's like, okay, I knew the first thing I'm not really ready to be taking follow-up questions. I know they do it on purpose. I don't know anything beyond that. That's a good response, though, because then it'll shut you up, but it'll also be like, all right, fair. I want to know why they do it.
Starting point is 01:20:15 Yeah, sometimes Catherine will do that to me. or I'll do it to her too, but I'm like, all I know is what I've told you. Like, that's it. Like, you can keep asking me, but I don't know. We can speculate together, but I have no idea. So anyway. Anyway, I got more I can talk about on Wednesday, a little more Phoenix, other things in the airport, yada, yada, yada. I got a new diagnosis for myself, but we can do reviews of the week if you guys won't.
Starting point is 01:20:41 Yeah, bud. Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it. It's never too early to plan your summer story in Europe with WestJet, from rolling countryside to cobblestone streets. Begin your next chapter. Book your seat at westjet.com or call your travel agent. WestJet, where your story takes off.
Starting point is 01:21:05 Someone has infiltrated in my podcast app. What does that be? Well, I go to my library and it's, uh, that, wait, you are more faith podcast with this girl, the Plant Strong podcast. the morning mindset, the Jesus calling. These are, it's all seemed like great podcast. I know I don't follow these. Quick Brain with Jim Quick.
Starting point is 01:21:27 What happened? Why are these in my library? Give me to Ghostrunners. That's odd. I wonder how. Like they're in your library. They're not in your... Yeah, in library.
Starting point is 01:21:36 Something's up. Whoops. Whoops. Whoopsies. All right. Oh, you got one? No. Not really.
Starting point is 01:21:43 My review is from True Bryce. All caps. Five-star review. He says, you've been duped. identity theft is not a joke sloane millions of families suffer every year i wonder what this is about at hour 28 and 33 seconds of your latest sode you read a review of the week from bryce only you didn't a man named sloane assumed my identity and claimed a curious set of half-truths what is it i'm an avid listener i even listen while rocking my baby to sleep though it is sloane who sends doordash gift
Starting point is 01:22:18 to new dads. And neither of us worked lawn care ever. I need to pause. What's going on? I can't keep up. My review of the week is from Jesse. I read that one. I was like, I don't understand what's happening here.
Starting point is 01:22:35 Let's go to yours and I'll try to find. Yeah. Jesse El Raj. A new fave. I'm a relatively new ghosty and having really enjoyed listening to Jake and Rachel's journey of planning the wedding and getting married. My husband and I got. married in India and honeymoon in Goa in June, aka June Soon, aka Monsoon season. We've married
Starting point is 01:22:55 five years as of yesterday in this honeymoon saga totally brought back all of the mims. We rented a Vespa and drove it in the rain to restaurants, the mall, the movie theater, etc., and just brought dry clothes in our backpacks to change into. It rained probably 80% of the time we were there, but we tried to just make the most of it. The door to our cabin also didn't lock, so we were constantly worried someone was going to break into our room in the middle of the night. But nobody did, and we survived. I'm really glad. You can find the humor in it all. Brad and Jake, I think the reason why everyone loves listening to you guys,
Starting point is 01:23:23 aside from the comedic quick wit, comedic quick wit, that's fun to say. Clever sponsor jingles and related to kids stories is because you bring us into your inner circle and make us feel like one of the gang. Keep up the good work, guys. Thank you, Jesse Elrash. Where is? Coming back to Bryce. I think he must be friends with this guy named Sloan.
Starting point is 01:23:44 So he's kind of talking to him through the review, I think. Yep. He says in retaliation, I will do the one thing that Sloan, the most humble man on earth hates more than anything. Public affirmation. Everyone who knows Sloan says he's the nicest person they know. He's memorized more scripture than anyone I know, and have even caught him multiple times praying in secret.
Starting point is 01:24:02 Don't be ashamed. You're going to be a secret. He won Prom King and hates when people know. Also, he used to have big muscles. We were in the middle of some sort of love triangle or something. I don't know what's going on. We got Bryce, we got Sloan, we got identity theft being tossed around. Identity slept
Starting point is 01:24:19 Is he slept is not a throat Sloan All right I got an oldie's kick I listened to yesterday morning woke up and listen straight to
Starting point is 01:24:30 old time rock and roll Bob Seeger That one's got like a false beginning Have you noticed that? What do you mean by that? It goes Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun do no
Starting point is 01:24:40 no no It does it again Dun dun dun dun dun dun Don't don't don't know Just take those of records So good. Yeah, dude, Bob Seeger. Rachel and I were like getting ready in the bathroom yesterday.
Starting point is 01:24:54 And I was like, is this one of the best songs ever made? And then Rachel goes, my grandma has said that to me. And I said, well, she gets it. He goes, I have a fond memory. I was in high school watching Tim's like middle school baseball game. And this song comes on. And yeah, grandma, grandma was like, you know this is the best song ever made. And then it kind of breaks it down at the end?
Starting point is 01:25:13 I love the breakdown when everything goes out except for just like the drum. You know that's Got a music Just so as a soul You know that song in time? I don't I would sing it if I did though Do you know Bob Seeger also
Starting point is 01:25:28 Has the iconic song Like a Rock In the Chevy commercial You remember the Chevy commercials Back in the day? Like a rock That's him Oh, like a rock
Starting point is 01:25:37 Yeah, Bob Seeger's got a voice on him Yeah Bob Seeger and the what Do you remember his band name? Bob Seeger Mellon. camp. You change his name. Bob Seeger and the bandits. I think it's the silver bullet
Starting point is 01:25:53 band. Oh. I think. I don't know. Of course, light. What is a silver bullet? Why have I heard that? Yeah, that is what they call those as well. But hey, we don't, we're deacons now, so. Bob Seeger and the Silver Bullet Band, now that. Silver Bull Band. Well, anyway.
Starting point is 01:26:10 What else is Bob Seeger singing? Thank you for that, timing. Yeah, of course. Night moves. Careful. A little timer. rock and roll. Yeah. Great. Great. Of course, guys. Always happy to sing something to finish it out. Yeah, that was fun. Yeah. I've been loving the oldies lately. So yeah, keep them coming. What other ones? Jake. Any other? What was that? I remember lean on. Oh, I've been on a slight Beach Boys kick. Beach Boys are unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:26:34 Kokomo? Put it on the list of one of the best songs ever made. Bar-U-Buh. I put it on my Instagram story last night. Yeah, Kokomo's good. Yeah. Beach Boys, I could be, it's either three or four parts. harmony a lot of times. Like, it's like some sweet. They know what they're doing. Yeah. Like Charlie Puth, like broke down. He was like, if you solo the vocals, like, listen to all these harmonies. Oh. It's pretty cool. Yeah. Good vibrations is another one of the best songs of all time. Yeah, they're good. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:02 Yeah. Good. Be-da-da-da-da-da-ba-da. Great one. Great one. Good jingle, everybody. Yeah, thanks, timing. That's great. Thanks for using your talents and not just Jake and I. You're welcome, guys. You're welcome. We'll see you guys. We'll see you guys for another awesome. episode. We love you guys. Thanks for supporting you.
Starting point is 01:27:21 Supporting you. See ya.
