Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, everyone. Please get out your phones. Already, already. Done. Would you believe me if I said already already? Ghosties out there. If you're not driving, I would like you also to get out your phones, please. All right. My phone's out. We're going to play a little game. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Do you guys know about MapTap? No. No. Fun. Good. Good. I know the two words. Do we know anything beyond that? I want to say the thing with like countries and states and directions on it and then like doing this. Yes. That would be mapped. That would be tap.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Okay, great. Calvin Beck just sent me a link like four days ago. I'm just like, check this out. Okay. And since then, we've been on a little group chat, randomly with the peola captains. Cap, cap, map, tap. It's me, Gunner.
Starting point is 00:00:44 Cap map, tap. Nick Hagma, tap, tap, tap. And Cap, cap, chap, map, tap. Boom, boom, boom, boom, tap. We are on a group, group chat. Boom, tap, boom, boom, boom, tap. Uh, uh, oh, ooh, I, oh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts in white, me too, then West best friends eating fast food on repeat. So come along.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Let's have some fun and go ahead. Get on your feet because it's a ghost's podcast. So go, go to your web browser of choice. I'm going to guess right now, it's not going to be.com. Good. Yeah, anything these days. It'll be maptap. dot, dot, go.
Starting point is 00:01:37 odd map tap dot gg that was awesome I nailed that it's like there's no way this this there's no way maptap.com was just available all right everyone feel free to play along this is like a a quick little geography game you have
Starting point is 00:01:55 the it's almost like you're looking at remember when Google Earth first came out and you got to see the globe I do nobody click yet but I don't I think I not it wasn't when it first came out but I remember when I did that all right times it and it's a pretty low-res globe. If I could nitpick maptap.g. I'll get into that later.
Starting point is 00:02:13 But you know, you start zooming in, trying to find something and you go, this is the best we can do. Okay. Anyway, it's just five quick rounds. Every day is new. It's like a wordal or New York Times crossword or something. So we're going to compete time and verse Brad.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And this is just today's challenge. I was just like, here's just like a random city in the world. How close can you click to it? Oh, my. Brad, you get to ask me one, yes or no question. Okay. Timon, you get to ask me two
Starting point is 00:02:38 yes or no questions. Okay. And that is the stakes. Dang, I want Hattie to be here, dude. Hat, map, tap, tap, yeah. She would, it'd be very interesting to see how she would do on this.
Starting point is 00:02:52 I'll report back. You think she would, yeah, I think so. Okay. Welcome to Map, Tap. Yeah, I have a tutorial right here. It says like, okay, yeah, have fun. I'm trying, I'm rotating the globe,
Starting point is 00:03:04 then tap is close. as you can to New York City. I was, yeah, that was what I did. Oh, I just tap right away. Well, you could zoom. You can, you could pinch to zoom. Okay, so I should pinch first, though, because once you tap, you're in, you're locked in. Yeah, there's no, like, are you sure?
Starting point is 00:03:15 No problem. Great job. Okay, got it. Are you ready, timing? How close you get? Well, it showed you where New York City was. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Just tapped. It's quite the practice. Yeah. Tap as close as you can to Berkeley, California. Is that also you, timing? Everyone has the same one today. It's like wordal. Timon, you were you listening because I was listening, so.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Yeah. All right. You at, who asked their question first? And can he hear my question? I think you would, like, probably wait till, like, he submitted his answer and then you can ask the question. We only get one for you, all five. Oh.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Like, for the whole quiz. Thank you for clarifying. Yeah, no, no. I was supposed to say, like, is Berkeley, California in the southern part of the state? No, I don't think you want to burn your question with California. Absolutely not. I thought I got one per location. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Yeah. And I'm also thinking, like, oh, there's a whole globe involved. I know where California is. Yeah. It's clearly on the East Coast. Yeah. Good. Chap.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Chop. Chop, chop, chap. Boom. Cap. That's cap, cap, cap, cap. All right, Berkeley, California. It's crazy, though, without borders. Like, even California, it's like,
Starting point is 00:04:17 I'm with you, Jake. I'm kind of a different spot than I thought it was. Really? Why is it so up? Dude, the other day, I'll let you guys make your guesses. I made my guess. I made my guess. I'm going to make mine.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Zoom in. What did you get on that one? I'll tell you in a second. Okay. Oh, wait. It went away. distance in the top left. Oh my gosh, the next one.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Distance was 147 kilometers. That's pretty good. So what's your score? What score in the top left? 097. 97. Whoa, 97 timing? Whoa, that's really good, timing.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Is that better or worse than 100? Oh, baby! Boom! Chap! A boom, boom, boom, tap! All right, what's the next one? All right. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Delft, Netherlands. Delft. Okay. Never in my life have I heard. heard of Delft. Netherland. Nether have I ever heard of this thing? I'm going to go ahead and guess I'm not getting at least 100 on this one.
Starting point is 00:05:09 All right. I'm never going to land on the right spot. Chap. Boom. Boom. All right. I don't know. Ask a question time.
Starting point is 00:05:19 You may ask one of your yes or no questions. It still says easy. And that easy one X multiplier. All right. I'm going to just go ahead and lock in. I mean, Netherlands, I feel like that's.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Closed your eyes to make your guess. Man, it's kind of wild. I got a 56 on that one. I was very far away. Oh, different continent? This is... Maybe, honestly. But I'm not going to say...
Starting point is 00:05:45 That's like... I know... I'm pretty sure that's Europe. I'm just going to say that. You're going to go to the European guests. I'm going to go with the European guests. And I'm seeing... So when I picture Netherlands, I'm just going to walk him through.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I'm picturing maybe there's mountains nearby. So I'm seeing some snow caps around here. Snow cats. I'm going to just go here. Your guess. Oh, 800 kilometers. I'm at 181. Dang it, dude.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Yeah, when I got 56 on that one, I was like, if I got 56 for that, I don't know. Anyway. I shouldn't have guessed among the snow caps. I bet I guessed somewhere in India or something. Like, I guessed so far east. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:27 I went too fast. I tapped. I tapped too fast. Fast tap. All right, Troy, Turkey is next. Okay. Do you guys know where turkey is? No.
Starting point is 00:06:37 I mean, never have I ever. I think it's my brain, I guess, Braddon, what do you, how, you kind of know where turkey is, right? In between the cheese and the bread, brother. Because I was going to say, like, I think it's maybe around here, but I don't want to, in case you have. Maybe you're around here. I know that Turkey is similar, I think, types of people to Iranians. Fair? I think,
Starting point is 00:07:02 uh, sure. I think it's like kind of that, their area, Istanbul, Wisconsin- to know, Istanbul is Turkey,
Starting point is 00:07:10 right? I'm just gonna go gut, guess. I'm gonna regret this, but. Oh, boy, I'm bad at this.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Oh, shoot. I'm pretty close. What'd you get? Uh, I'm 477 kilometers away. My score is 361. I feel like that's decent. Brad,
Starting point is 00:07:24 how are you doing? I need to, I need to look at my kilometers quicker next time because they go away. I got 300 points total. I was, uh, I was too far north.
Starting point is 00:07:31 northeast. I went on the other side of that big pot body of water that he probably knows what that is. I was below that body of water, but still too east. Are we got two more questions left. Everyone has there. All right. Cochi Japan. Shouldn't have. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. The globe doesn't. All right. Don't make fun of me for this too much. But the globe doesn't reset. Like, when you turn it, you can't just like get back to Compass Rose, you know, back at North. And I don't like the eye can't swivel. I can't make America be like straight up and down.
Starting point is 00:08:01 used to. Yeah, you can't. Oh, you're right. I see what you're saying. Okay. This is a, this is, this is, that's Hawaii. I know that. A bummer for me because I'm like, I think that's Japan. All right. Let's go and ask a yes or no question. You have one question. Do I just straight up go for my question being, is this Japan? Yeah, I never think about how this could be asked. Okay, wait, let me, let me get my bearings real quick. My bearing straight. Let me get my bearing straight All right You're using your question now
Starting point is 00:08:38 Oh There is one after this I know Okay okay okay But I don't want to like What if the last one is Or is it gets harder and harder What is the last one's Kansas City?
Starting point is 00:08:51 I know dude That's really hard for most people I This is Japan I'm not gonna ask him Yeah I'm gonna also just be I have two questions So I could just
Starting point is 00:09:01 Do I just ask me? You could double up on the last one Yeah, I'm just going to think that this is Japan. All right, click it, what and tell us what your score for that one is, timing. Two. My score is 74 for that one. Okay, okay. Sounds like you got Asia, but didn't get Japan.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I got Japan. I was 373 kilometers away. My new score for a total is 576. I'm at 583. Oh, wow. Wow, it's close. We got a real Donnybrook here, boys. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Okay. Last but not least. Ikech, Chile. Yeah. That's the thing about this. I've never heard of the cities. It's always just like country guessing. They're fake.
Starting point is 00:09:38 All right. It might be. I know. I know Chile. I think everyone knows Chile. I'm pretty sure I know Chile. But the thing about Chile is, it's a lot of north and south. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:09:47 It's a dumb shaped country. So I came like this. So, so, timing you're going to, I might text you my question. Okay. I don't want,
Starting point is 00:09:54 I don't want Timen to know. And do you know the answer to where I Kike is? Like, will you look that up for me? I played it this morning. Great. So we're going off my memory. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:03 All right. I'm texting Jacob. And we can put this on the screen later, time. You can text in our group chat. Yeah, feel afraid to just text both of us. I can't think of good yes or no questions for this. I can't even lie. Well, then you don't need to.
Starting point is 00:10:17 You don't need to use your questions. You don't need to. Jake, text back. Boom. It has to be yes or no. Good question, Brad. Is it? I guess I'll just be like,
Starting point is 00:10:29 hmm. I got a. A 70 on that one. Okay. Total score of 786. I'll go ahead and say that right now. Okay. I was, uh, Jake.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Some kilometers away. Is it, is it, um, like I'm, I'm pretty sure I know where Chile is. I'm pretty sure something. Is it on the more northern part of Chile? Oh, good question. Is the, is the city in question in the northern part of Chile? Yes, it is. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:58 That's the exact question I asked. Oh, great. Yeah, it is. Yeah. Okay. I'm just, I care about this. a little too much. Okay, here we go.
Starting point is 00:11:06 You're just going to go. Oh, you're not going to use your second question? I don't know what. The only question is like that I can think of our north and south. And I already asked the north. Then cut it up again. Or don't. I mean,
Starting point is 00:11:16 up to you, man. The problem is, I'm still not confident. Oh, okay. Actually, I'll just, is the country of Chile more.
Starting point is 00:11:29 So, oh, it's a waste of a question. The context is, context is, I know, or at least I'm pretty sure that Chile is on the
Starting point is 00:11:39 west side of South America. Is that the question? No, no, no, no, no. You're just thinking out loud in questions. I'm thinking out loud. That's what I think. If you want to answer them at a conversational, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:54 I'm pretty sure that's true because I can kind of picture my minds. I've seen Chile kind of spread out sideways like written along this area. I'm just going to say, I'm going to ask, is the country in the context of it being on the west side, is it on the northern part of South America?
Starting point is 00:12:11 If that makes any sense. Does that make any sense? I think I know what you're saying, and the answer would be no. Okay. Good to know. Brad? He wants to know if it's on the northern part of South America. But that's a tough question, Jake.
Starting point is 00:12:24 I guess I would say... But it's not. I just clicked. I just clicked. Score 92. Final score 8, 5, 9. Wow, 92 on the Chile one. I thought Chile goes like basically spans the South America. It's like the lower half. Is it?
Starting point is 00:12:42 Of South America. Yeah, I went real high up north. When you said north, I was like, I'm just going to go. I'm going to send it. So I went somewhere else. Let's see where I actually. What was your final score time in? 8.59.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Wow. So in our group chat today, I got 851. Calvin got 855. Among the greats. Maybe the best. Boom, champ. Bo boom, boom, boom, champ. It was dumb Chile.
Starting point is 00:13:03 I was in the 90s for every score except for Chile. Wow. I wish I would show me where I clicked. You want to recap? In the aftermath. Oh yeah, Chile is just the southern part. You're right.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I went way up wherever this, whatever this country is that's like way up north. Texas. Yeah. Yeah. That's where I went on a mission trip one time, Arlington, Texas. If my mom listens to this,
Starting point is 00:13:28 she's going to be, she's going to be pleased because she's going to be like, I feel like, a little bit in the back of her. mind every time I am really bad at some kind of edge like thing that she was a part of my education for she's like that kind of reflects on me and so I think she's gonna she's gonna be a fan of that that I did okay on the judge. Congrats Maria. Oh you did it. You're one for eight. Oh man. That would be a lot
Starting point is 00:13:55 I mean eight kids dude. There's no way they're all they're all scholars. No right like it's probably tough if you're in Maria Shrews also to be like, yeah, I mean, it's tough homeschooling in general. It's tough homeschooling eight of them. I didn't think my second go-around. He's going to end up being on this popular podcast. I didn't think he'd be showing off. He'd at least get to like the sixth or seventh one before. Like, give me myelin in the studio, maybe.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. I was still figuring it out. That's so funny. Yeah, I mean, the first couple, you know, breakfast balls is what we call time. There's a tournament golf time in their first shot that you get. If it's not a good shot, you get to redo it and you call it a breakfast ball. Because it's like, that makes sense. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Come on. So anyway. Time. That's a good, that's a good nickname. What's that breakfast ball? Hey, breakfast ball. That's so demeaning to a person to call him, hey, breakfast ball. Oh, is he like golf?
Starting point is 00:14:55 No, he was kind of his mom's second. No, they just kind of like, yeah. We'll keep going. Maybe the next one will be straight. because of the golf. Because of golf. Golf joke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Golf joke, Maria. Yep. Timon's good, I think. Golf joke. Yeah. Anyway, what's new, boys? How we doing? Great.
Starting point is 00:15:15 I've been having fun with MapTap. MapTap. I'm so excited to show that to both of the oldest girls in my life. Yeah. My wife and my daughter. Throw me in a group text with him. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Had he doesn't have a phone yet, but. Throw me in an eye. iPad. Yeah. Chat room with her. Give me a chat room. It's just you and your daughter. Dude, I've thought about this sometimes.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Like, you know, maybe I've talked about this on the podcast before, but like, I feel like the catching a predator has now become like this vigilany thing. Like a lot of like people on Facebook are just doing this on their own, which is fine. I think they have good intentions, hopefully. But the decoy. I would not like that at all. Someone has to be. I'm not talking about the physical decoy. I'm talking about the online like, hey, I've always liked older men.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Like the, they say that? The adult man who has to pretend to be a middle school boy or girl for weeks at a time flirting with a pervert. Yeah. You never get to hear that person's point of view. And I'm very intrigued by like, there's no way you're a fully functioning adult. Like, how do you sleep at night? That's so weird. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Yeah. It's like a little, like it's kind of like the whole like, if you're not at least 5% you're 100% it's like you're being kind of a kind of a kind of a you're a little too stupid there why do you know why do you yeah how do you know how they think so well how do they know how they talk like that and that's that's that's kind of where my mind goes like I don't want to convince I don't want to like to say like they're criminals but it's like this is weird if you like spending your
Starting point is 00:16:50 free time pretending to be a middle school girl yeah that's wild flirting with someone else you know then in the end obviously it's like to catch this bad guy but it's like yeah but for three weeks you've been pretty perverse Is this on your algorithm? Not super often, but every now and then, obviously, if it happens to, like, someone in, like, Southwest Missouri, then it is on my algorithm. It's like, yeah, somebody at the Harder House, got tracked down again. It has to be a Venn diagram to get on there. Yes, I think so.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Not just Dog the Bounty Hunter, but if it's Dog the Bounty Hunter in Springfield, then I will see it. Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, it does come up occasionally. And, yeah, it just seems like it's kind of like some Facebook pages with 8,000 followers, like putting these together. And it's like, yeah, it seems like occasionally they are catching people. But they will also post the screenshots of like, here's what we said and here's what he said. I'm like, I think both you need to go to jail. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Like, do it a different way. Figure out a different way to find these guys. I don't know what the other way is, which maybe there's a problem. I'm so big on that. I'm always like, do not talk about a, you know, problem if you don't have a solution. I don't have a solution on how to catch these perps. So yeah, you get fired up with somebody's like, you should change this thing. You're like, how?
Starting point is 00:17:59 Oh, I don't know. Just it's a problem. so fix it. Oh, yeah, I can't stand it. I'm big leadership principle. Yeah, you have to, like, submit a solution. I see. You're going to address a problem.
Starting point is 00:18:08 That's interesting. I think I understand why you'd say that. I also wonder if it's like, but what if you're, what if you're just enabling them not to think? I'm thinking about, like, as a dad. You know what I mean? Bizz.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Yeah, okay. Hey, family's a biz. Okay. Okay. Think about it. Plant. Yeah. Plant parrot, parrot.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Plant parent. It's a gardening. It's a gardening thing, dude. You reap what you sow. Plant parenthood. What if someone had that name for a, for a business? They have plantparadhood.com. And they're like, we're going to kill it.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Yeah, sow your seeds. We are convinced, like we are growing in this thing. Plant your flag. We had to pay a lot for this domain. I don't know why, but we paid $20,000, but we are very confident that plant parenthood is about to take off. And then they hear, they're just like, yeah, whatever, just. Every six months, like a confused group of people start protesting their business.
Starting point is 00:19:09 What's going on? What do they have against us? Hey, it's good press, though. Plant parenthood. Anyway. Yeah, I like if someone, you know, you're like, hey, I just threw this whole thing together. What do you guys think? And, you know, if someone says something like, I don't know, I'm not really vibing with it.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Uh-huh. I need more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fair. Yeah. joke that Tate and I do a lot. Like when we go and look at like the progress on each other's house, like rental properties or whatever,
Starting point is 00:19:38 he says that like a frustrating thing that his wife will say. And I don't know if Catherine said this, but is she'll like walk in and be like, so what's your plan with this? And like in his head, he's like, it's done. What do you mean? What's my plan?
Starting point is 00:19:53 It's completed. So what are you going to do with this room? Like, what are you thinking you'll do with this room? It's like, oh. the room I I the this this is and so we joke about that all the time like like we you know this Airbnb I have like this like yeah little patio with the TV and that furniture out there and he walks out he's like so you know what are you thinking how are you think you're going to finish this up you you show up my house three years ago you go so what's the plane with the roof so yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:20:20 I just spent eight grand on a brand new one what do you mean what's the what do you mean the plan has been fulfilled and if you your wife says it for whatever reason, it's like, it's, it's way worse. It's like, I mean, I've been working pretty hard on this so far already. That's funny. What's the plan with this? What's you're playing with this? I thought I was done. So, uh, I got to get in the mood. Hold on, I'm not the right mood. Uh, one more. Uh, mood's off. Mood's off. I'm looking at that camp on the computer. I'm looking. He's going to change my ways. not knowing what I'm going to do with my future
Starting point is 00:21:07 If you want to make the world a back A place you've got to put some money And some index funds change Just kidding Hey we're sponsored by Cam Cam Cam Cam Cam Cam! Cam! I think I've talked before In dealing with Cam
Starting point is 00:21:27 That I said I'm going to invest Like a dead person would In the sense that I am not going to look anything I'm doing, I'm going to leave this in the market and just forget about it. Okay. That lasted about two weeks. I go, I got to know. We got a savvy.
Starting point is 00:21:41 We got a guy. He's dipping his toes in. And I go, I got to know. So I go and I log in, like, let's just see how these babies are doing. Mm-hmm. I don't know if it's me. Maybe it's a little cam. Somebody's a genius.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Ha-ha. Somebody's doing some insider trading. No, it's by pure, I mean, just luck and habit stance, but this is just like I am a, a testament to like just, you know, good things that can happen when you do this is. So I go, yeah, I've never done anything like this in my entire life, but let's, let's do it. I want to invest with you. Let's do mutual funds, index funds, yad, yada. And he goes, when do you want these to, you know, start?
Starting point is 00:22:17 And I go, whenever. Yes, you know, just, yeah, like whenever you can. He goes, okay, I think it'll probably, you know, happen next Monday or whatever. That day was like March 28th, March 29. I don't know, you can go back and look. If you go look at just like any stock or just like SEP 500, the Dow, any, like, like, like large, you know, like, uh, conglomerative things. There is like a massive like dip on the day that I got in.
Starting point is 00:22:40 And then we've just got we've got full Artemis. Yeah, dude. We've gone to the moon. Honestly, you're the new Nancy Pelosi. Like it's like, it's like whatever Jake does, just do what Jake does. It's like a little. I'm going to start a pickleball channel. I'm going to start one too, I guess.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Yeah. It's looking a little fishy. I go, geez, did we know about something? Cam, who do you? How high up does this go? Mm-hmm. Who's involved? here. Camp says, don't ask questions. Just cash the check. Shut up. You're dead. You're
Starting point is 00:23:06 just cash the check, but yeah. We're going to get you a new passport and new idea. I go, whoa, I don't know about all that. That's right. But now I'm just a living, breathing, you know, testimony. But like, hey, this is pretty cool. Yeah. So that's Cam for it. He's a, financial planner. He's a business owner himself. He's, his goal is to help people and find problems in someone's financial situation. Yeah. Didn't have to just be investing. I mean, you know, debt. Yeah. Consolidation or cash management. Just goals. goal getting. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Or your financial goals. Let's go get them. Yes. That's right. Exactly. So strategy, if you will. Yeah. His, you know, you can go to old wine, old line wealth.com.
Starting point is 00:23:45 But also, they're with prudential if you need the credibility of a big dog coming in here. You know, so know that. Yeah. Oh. But he's not, he's a small dog in the sense of he will not bite. And if he does, it doesn't hurt. Yeah. He's just, he wants just an early consultation.
Starting point is 00:24:02 quick consultation. He's teething. Just wants to get to know you. He's got to put a shoe in his mouth. That's what puppies do. Yeah, don't put your foot in your mouth. Give your shoe to cam. Yeah. Put it in his mouth. Put your money where your mouth is. Well, I keep my money in my shoe. That's right. If that doesn't make you want to go get some. Go with cam. Go with cam.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Go with cam. Oldwealth. Oldlinewealth.com. Check it out all below. That's right. What's your plan with this? Dude, here's a question for you. And hopefully this could be a funny thing and not feel like I'm calling you out. What was the plan? with your lawn. Bro!
Starting point is 00:24:35 I wasn't going to talk about this. I wasn't going to talk about this only because it's like only, only, only like complaining and not, dude, did you see it timing? I don't think so. I saw at one point
Starting point is 00:24:47 where it legitimately made me laugh by myself because I couldn't believe how high it was. It was legitimately like, it was objectively funny. Especially because you take such good care. You have really good grass.
Starting point is 00:25:00 You have a really good line. It's always in good shape. And I was like, Like, that is, have you ever seen those videos? I know who lives there. That's hilarious. Yeah. So you know, like those videos like, are those guys are like,
Starting point is 00:25:08 Oh, hey. Yeah, like knock on the door. Like, hey, you know, I'm doing, I'll do your lawn for free. I'll just mow it. Have you seen those videos? I kind of was like, maybe somebody's going to TikTok me here. Like, it was wild. It was, I, I'm genuine.
Starting point is 00:25:22 This is, this is real. This is how tall it got. It got so tall that when Catherine backed her van out of the driveway, it would start beeping when she got close to the grass because they thought it was an object. Oh, really? It was like, hey, you're six-year-olds behind you. Yeah, no, no, no, it's just an 18-inch tall lawn. Okay, so this is the whole, the whole story is this. I, I think Oliver did a good job last year. I don't think he did what I was hoping he would do at times. There was times where I was like, ooh, there's clumps, and then the clumps kind of killed the grass. And I was like, okay,
Starting point is 00:25:56 I'm going to hire a different company this year. And so I contacted these people on March, I think it was 19th. Okay. March 19th. I contacted them. March 10th. They got back to me, you know, whatever, a couple days later. And they quoted me. I was like, great.
Starting point is 00:26:12 And then they put me on the schedule. And they put me on the schedule for like a week or two after they like first contact me. I was like, that. Okay. It's getting kind of long, you know. And because we have like a good lawn, it grows. Like it's like some people haven't mowed their lawn very much, but it's just like weeds and dandelions and like kind of high.
Starting point is 00:26:31 but our grasp was so high. And these people kept like postponing and kept not coming and kept like and I would like eventually I was like you're going to I want you to know it's getting very high. Yeah. You need to do something. And I don't have a lawn more like I literally like could not do it myself. It's why I kind of felt helpless. You had that electric weed eater. I thought about it.
Starting point is 00:26:50 When you said that, I was like, man, I could at least like cut this down or something. And so then I was like maybe I should reach out to some other people. I honestly just should have reached out to Oliver. But it was also like, dang, feel kind of bad. Oliver asked me. And I was like, no, not this year. I found somebody else. And anyway, I'm trying to find somebody else.
Starting point is 00:27:07 And everyone's like, this is like the craziest, busiest part of their season probably. Well, it tornadoes and thunderstorms every 36 hours here. And that was that was their excuse. I mean, the grass is insane. They're like, well, it's rainy. So I can't, we can't go today. It's going to rain. So we can't go tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:27:21 And it's like, it didn't rain. It didn't rain today after off. Go. Anyway, and they're just terrible at communicating. Like, they wouldn't text me back for three days. and so yeah, Catherine was jokingly, like, like Henry, you know, is two years old and like, I think it was up to his like waist. Like it was like, yeah. Like Catherine, you know, would like be like going out to the backyard and she would sing that song.
Starting point is 00:27:44 She's like, won't you follow me into the jungle? Because it's like literally like a jungle out there. And anyway, so finally, there's a guy that does landscaping for some of my flip houses. I was like, Filiberto, I need you to come over and just cut this thing. and you're going to probably have to cut it multiple times. You know, I'll pay you however long it takes, whatever. And even when he cut, he's like, I can cut it, but I can't cut it that short because it's so high
Starting point is 00:28:09 that it's just going to mess everything. Your lawnmower bunched up. And so he was mowing, but he mowed at like a snail's pace. Like it was almost like he was on a ride on a lawnmower. On the lawnmowers. It was. He was like on a riding lawnmower, but going as fast as you would if you were walking.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Yeah. And it still needs like, like there's still like large, it's a mess, dude. It's like, I don't know. I guess I learned my lesson of just never go against Timon's friends is the main thing. Don't double cross my friends. Yeah. I woke up to a text from Oliver today. And he said.
Starting point is 00:28:42 He said, want some? And I said, yeah. Maybe I should. Is he coming over today? I don't know. Wayne. I just said, yeah, whatever. I should text them and say, hey, man.
Starting point is 00:28:49 I'm selling this thing. Can you cut? I will. I'll text them right now. I don't even know why I'm cutting it. Not my problem. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Yeah, is it official? or like unofficially official? Supporting small business, supporting time and small friends. No, it's not official yet. Had the had a little little, little sewage boy. I think that's what their business is called. Yeah, I called little sewage boys of Shawnee and they came over and met him in a chat room. What's their logo?
Starting point is 00:29:17 It's just like, it looks like Huck Finn. It's like, yeah, it's just like barefoot holding a stick, but it's a hydrant jet. But in the back of the stick, like instead of like the bag that has the, like his lunch. in it, it's got something else. Yeah, it's got sewage. That's never got a bag. It's a diaper. And he came over to blast my pipes, and he said it went well.
Starting point is 00:29:41 And then he gave me, you know, and so then I text Peter. Not a little sewage boy, but I'll take a look. And I was like, hey, Peter, went well. He's like, did they give you any kind of email or paper receipt? And I go, no. He goes, do you have any proof at all that this happened? I go, no. He was in and out.
Starting point is 00:29:58 I guess I'll call them. Okay. Yeah. But it was shock. It was like, yeah, there's no proof at all that that even just happened. Why didn't they give me something on the world? Yeah, that's true. They didn't even like email you a receipt or anything.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Yeah, no, he was all over the phones and we never exchanged. They insisted I pay in cash. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know who that was. So, are they going to see? That went well. And he said, and now the re-inspection, sewage only is like Monday.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Okay. So that should be good. Okay. I think they have very, the last hiccup potentially could be the appraisal. I really understand how that works, but. You'll me tell you? Sure. From what I understand, I always want to preface it like that because I don't know everything.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I know you call little appraisal boys of Shawnee and they come over. After that, I don't know. Yeah, yeah. What's up? Yeah, on the back of their stick, they have a calculator. You have a protractor. Yeah. Basically, so like, if your house doesn't appraise for what they're buying it for,
Starting point is 00:30:58 So let's say, you know, you're selling your house for $200,000. They appraise it for $190. Oh, this buyer overpaid. So, yeah, either they need to like contest that appraisal and try to get another one that will, or like, you know, be like, hey, actually, I know that because what appraisers do is they compare it to all the other houses in the area and what they sell for. And, you know, but they don't, they don't consider as much like, well, they have a TV that they're conveying, you know. And so you can kind of contest a little bit. But if the appraisal doesn't, if the appraiser like stay.
Starting point is 00:31:28 true to what they appraise it at, then your buyer would be on the hook to, like, cover the difference, like $10,000 out of pocket. Does that make sense? So not really. Okay, okay, okay. So they usually have a down payment. Let's say, let's say $200,000 purchase. Great. Simon, you falling along? I'm tracking. Ryan, timing can't even do easy change at McDonald's. Yeah. $200,000 purchase. A lot of times you'd say 20% down. 40 grand, please. 40 grand. Like, great, $200,000 purchase. But the bank is like, we got to make sure this is a
Starting point is 00:31:58 loan for us to give out. It's a safe loan. So let's see what this actually is worth. Let's make sure it's worth $200,000. Okay. They come out. Little appraisal boys. Little appraisal boy comes out. Su. It's me, little appraisal boy. And they say, ah, actually, this is only worth 190 grand. Okay, shoot. Oh, snap. So at this point, who is more nervous? The buyer or the seller? I'm not tracking. How much less is 190 than 200?
Starting point is 00:32:23 10 grand. Okay. Who's more nervous? Like, is this bad for everybody? I mean, it would be bad for the, it could be, it could potentially like lose the deal. But if you said that they have, uh, earnest money down that's not refundable, if they back out at this point. I forgot about that. I'm still getting $3,500. Hey, hey, yeah. Yeah. So, um, yeah. And so they would either have, they'd have their, they'd have their $40,000 they put down for the down to down payment, but they'd also have to cover another $10,000 in difference from the appraisal. They would to get their loan. to have it like up front.
Starting point is 00:32:57 Like, yeah. Or they can say, you said that 190, but you forgot that they're, like they're, they're including the fridge and this and that.
Starting point is 00:33:06 And yeah, the square footage is this, but this square footage is worth more because, like, the kitchen's not cork anymore. Yeah, so.
Starting point is 00:33:12 So when, yeah, exactly. When we, when we bought our house and Shawnee, it didn't appraise for quite as much as they wanted it to be, but they only,
Starting point is 00:33:22 um, counted as a one car garage. But we technically have like, a two-car garage in the back. Please. And so we're like, you're not, you're not counting that. And so I think, I remember they, like, contested it. And they're like, all right.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Yeah, you're right. It's worth more than you said. So I think most of the time. So the deal can fall through, but it's mainly an issue for the buyer if the appraisal doesn't come through what you want to do. I believe so. Unless the, unless the earnest money is refundable or, I mean, obviously it's going to cost you more potentially because you're going to have to sell it.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Yeah, relisted. Also, what was I going to? And so sometimes they might say, hey, the appraisal didn't come back. Can we. change the price to this. You can say yes or no. What was I going to say? Oh, also, we had just talked about this with Picklewall,
Starting point is 00:34:03 but appraisals, appraisers, from what I understand, are often rewarded for. incentivized by meeting the price. I think they get dinged every time that somebody re-submits an appraisal. Oh, like if they have to appeal, and it's like, I get appealed all the time. So if you have a good realtor, which you do, I think Peter's going to say, hey, this is what we think it's worth.
Starting point is 00:34:24 here's why we think it's worth that. Here's the packet. Please just sign the paper. Here's your homework that I did for you. I mean, that's what I did for this house in O.P. I had like a hundred page packet that I gave them. Like, here's all the comparables. This is why I think it's worth this.
Starting point is 00:34:38 This is all the work we've done. Here you go. So it'll be fine. Cool. I think. Thank you, the explanation. That's been a real estate talk. Fun.
Starting point is 00:34:48 To get back on the little boys thing, two afternoons in a row, Rachel and I have not been home, but we've had like middle school boys come to our door and ring the doorbell. And we don't know what they want. Oh, really? So curious. And I always like see the ring message too late. Like, ah, the boys are back. They don't seem mischievous. They do. Rachel called them rascals. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Because I said, Rachel, did you see the ring doorbell notification? There were like some like little boys that are like a door. She's like, oh, that's cute. And she's like, let me go look. She goes, oh, those are not little boys. Those are rascals. Oh, she kind of like, yeah, made her eyes a little bit. Yeah, slit. Like, yeah. Oh, no, those are not fun. Trick or treaters. Those are rascals. learn to know the difference, big boy. Catherine might know exactly who she's talking about. I don't know who she was referring to.
Starting point is 00:35:31 But the other day, I was like, do you see these people? They're like kind of chilling over there with a bonfire. And like the, like you can kind of see them through our backyard through like houses. Rascal type? She's like, oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Those are the people that ride their dirt bikes up and down the street. And they're like adults riding kids bikes and those kids ride the dirt bikes. I'm like, I don't even know what she's referring to. Sounds like rascal behavior. It does sound very rapscallian even, maybe.
Starting point is 00:35:53 So, yeah, but why are they knocking on your door? We don't know. They seem to have nothing in hand, just themselves, just rascal energy. What could it be? Two days in a row. Maybe they want to pick up sticks. Pick up sticks. I'm trying to remember what it's for.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Hattie wants to go to some camp this summer. That's $100. What is it? Not space camp. I feel like that's like the classic. Geography camp. Yeah, it's something like that. cooking camp or cooking class.
Starting point is 00:36:24 I don't know what it is. But we said you have to make that money. If you want it, okay. You have to figure out a way to do it. So she's thinking about maybe baking something. I told her she should go around to the neighbors and ask if they have any jobs for her to do. Maybe that's what they're doing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:37 So maybe they're like, you want a new roof on your house? What's your plan? What's your plan? But anyway, okay. So you got little rascals around. Yeah, TBD. I'm sure there'll be a next week. I will have an update and what the rascals wanted.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Okay. That's good. What's new? Go ahead. We filmed Trey's special. That was a time. That's right. I wrote down several things I can just go on.
Starting point is 00:37:03 You drove through a tornado to get there. Yes. Yeah, that was like, it was looking decently bad. And Zach's mom kept texting him like, you guys like, please pull over if it gets dangerous looking. Mom, I'm fine. I get out, I can out drive it tornado. And I honestly like kind of kept air. a little bit on the side of Zach's mom.
Starting point is 00:37:24 I was like, I mean, we might as well play it safe and Zach's like, we'll be fine. It's like... What were you using to monitor it? It was just... I was checking the Apple Weather app with the radar that's on there. Okay. Yeah, radar though.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Yes, I was using radar. And it like... It looked... Well, before I started using the radar, we were just kind of going by what the sky looked like in the direction... Sky you were traveling.
Starting point is 00:37:50 And it was like, I think it looks fine. And then we kept on driving, got farther away from Kansas City. It was like, it's looking a little greener. I feel like it usually doesn't look green, does it? Yeah. I love you using the sky as your, like, main instrument to like, yeah. I think we're good to drive five hours. We have.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Do you see a tornado? Let's go. We were fortunate enough to have updates every 30 seconds for Zach's mom via text. So it was like, it was the sky and her. And Joe. And so, yeah. And so it got a little greener looking. And I think there's like, I might.
Starting point is 00:38:22 have a video of this moment. I don't know. But it's like looking a little more intimidating and we're kind of joking around and we happen to have some like movie soundtrack playing that was like kind of intense or like dramatic.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Yeah, yeah. And it just like suddenly in an instant it just turned from like calm looking to just being pelted with rain and hail and just like insane wind. And like we go from joking to just like I can.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Shut up time. Yeah. Exactly. I like, talk to my mom. Yeah, go to the back seat. Maybe crack a joke like, that looks like way worse.
Starting point is 00:38:59 He's like, he's like, he's just eyes forward, just dialed in. And so I think we did pull over for a little bit, but then it was like, at that point I had kind of whipped out the radar
Starting point is 00:39:13 and I was like, I think if we just can go through it, we'll be out of it sooner than if we just like stayed here. It's going the opposite direction of you. So it's better to just get it over with. And so we kept going. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:26 There's not that much more to say. Just like eventually later, once it was dark, closer to Oklahoma, it got pretty bad again. And it was the same thing. Just Zach locked in. I put something on my Instagram story, a video of just like, it's just lightning, just lightning everywhere. It's the whole time. And just intense rain.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Zach's like going by the faint outline of like the yellow line on the side just to stay forward. But he did it. And we got there safe and sound. Did Coli ride with you guys too? Coley and Derek ended up running together because Zach had to drive separate because he had a different shoot. And then he was like, he convinced me to go with him just like keep him awake. And I wanted to do that. He always falls asleep on shoots.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Yeah. Well, I already had a nap earlier today at the shoot. So I should be good. Yeah, like, oh yeah, you need help by you're driving? No, no, while I'm working. Keep me awake, dude. You're like a shock collar on Zach. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Yeah, I was hoping all three of us could ride together. but Zach had to build this table thing for the stand-up special, like to hide the DJ booth or whatever. And so that was like taking up the whole backseat. But yeah, it was just me and Zach on the way to Oklahoma, brave in the storm. But, dude, there was one time I also, yeah, driving to Oklahoma City, forget why, maybe for one of my friends' weddings. And it was like a nasty tornadoy kind of weather. And it was, it didn't rain. So this is a little different, I guess, but like it was like my license to be like, I'm going to drive as fast as I can. Because there's no way that cops are going to pull.
Starting point is 00:40:54 If the cop pulls me around me, like, are you kidding me? I'm driving 100 miles an hour because of this freaking tornado. It's right behind me. Yeah. I was trying to get there as fast as I could. Yeah. And it was like, there's no way. There's no way.
Starting point is 00:41:05 There's certain circumstances where it's like, hey, laws are, laws are meaningless right now. Yeah. Time in the express lane. It's the law of nature at this point. Yeah. It was like you're in the express lane. Right. Same thing.
Starting point is 00:41:16 That's fun. Because you had visibility because there was no rain. Oh, yeah. It was like, it was just like one of those like completely dark in front of me, completely light behind me. Just like, I got to go. Yeah. So.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Yeah. So we get to the Airbnb. I, we were like about to go to bed. Just, you know, we have an early morning the next day. Just like from eight to 11 in the venue the next day. It's like we should get some sleep. And I confirm with Nathan that it was me that had this idea. So shout out to me.
Starting point is 00:41:47 I was just kind of like, should we? try setting up one of the camera setups, like in the Airbnb, just to make sure it's going to work tomorrow. And it was like, yeah, I guess it might as well. And then we were up for like three more hours,
Starting point is 00:42:00 just like troubleshooting all these things. Oh, geez. That would have been, like, I just can't imagine if we loaded into the venue the next morning and then it's been like, hardly anything is working how it's supposed to. Anyway, we just like,
Starting point is 00:42:12 Eric would have been fine. Derek's super chill under pressure, though. Two seconds. How, like what's not working on a camera? It was, the main thing was, um, something that Derek couldn't really have, the role the film faster or what? Yeah, it was, it needed a little grease. The crank kept getting stuck.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Zach fell asleep. Yeah. Um, it was basically just like a lack of something Derek couldn't really have known because it's so much of this gear is rented because he doesn't own sick, you know, five nice camera setups like, um, so it's like the, it was just like something that helped the focus where you could do the focus remotely, like kept getting hit on these rods. So we had to figure out like, I guess we'll just do the lenses with no support. Like, just like all this research, like, are they going to be fine? Is it going to break the mounts? Like, um, and then just
Starting point is 00:43:04 the focus systems themselves, there was one that just wouldn't work. And it was like the menu system looked like it was in a different language, but it was just English letters, but just, it was just all, a lot of things were hard to figure out. But it ended up, It just was a good thing that we did that night because, yeah, like, the next day, we had just enough time to get what we needed to do that day. So it was like, yeah, I'm trying to think of specific things. That's a great lesson in general. Don't wait till the last minute.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Like, always double check. Yeah. Especially when it's, like, unfamiliar to you. For sure. Like that. That's good. Everything was smooth, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Day of, like I said, it was like, we got there at 8 a.m. first show started at three and it was like we used every bit of that time. Did you really? Just to make sure everything was right. Is that one of those times where it's like you used all that time because you had it or you think it's like we needed
Starting point is 00:43:59 every minute of that time? I think like if we had an hour less it's like surely we could have right? But it's like I don't know. I feel like we kind of used it to its max. Getting everything set up. One thing I wrote down was that I,
Starting point is 00:44:16 there was an element. LED wall. That was like a big like production design thing, like a big LED wall behind tray. It was like some decorative background. And the way the lighting was set up, it had to, in order to match the cameras, it had to be way warmer than it was. Like, so I was talking to the LED wall guy like, hey, if you could just maybe like, because I was technically a camera operator and like the lighting director. So I was kind of in charge of that too. And so you're going to get credits as lighting director on the special? Yeah. Wow, Netflix. Congrats, dude. Yeah. And so I was, talking to this guy, I was like, could you,
Starting point is 00:44:51 who at best? Could you maybe like just shifted a little warmer to match the cameras? And he like, he would just keep on like just barely moving it warmer. And I was like, just like maybe like it's to match the cameras. It has to actually look. It's going to look pretty warm to like the human eye, but it'll be worth it for the special. He's like, well, like the audience will notice it's warm. And I just keep on being like, it's a special.
Starting point is 00:45:11 It's going on the internet. Yeah. However many people are in the audience. 1100 people. Frankly, I don't really care. because it's, the special is what's important. That's tough. And so I just like had to, what felt like being so mean to me.
Starting point is 00:45:26 But eventually I was just like, hey, I'm kind of the lighting director. I need you to do it. That's like, hey, heated up. Okay. Yeah, that was okay. Heated up. So that was my kind of like, yeah, I was like a mean. It was a monster.
Starting point is 00:45:40 There's a monster. Yeah. There's a quote that Catherine I use a lot from friends. Like Joey had just eaten. And like, Joey, one of the characters, eating a huge Thanksgiving dinner or whatever. And he's like, I can't barely have any pie. But Joey loves to eat. So he's like, just give me a little sliver.
Starting point is 00:45:55 And he's like, a little bigger. A little bigger. And then you're like, what am I? What is he saying? What am I something? Give me a real piece. That's what I feel like. Time was like, a little warmer.
Starting point is 00:46:07 A little warmer. What am I not the lying director? Change of 15%. What's like the sun. Yeah. A little bigger. Oh, okay. Natalie Calvert, I got to pull this up. She said something really nice about Cozy Earth. Did you see this, Jake? I did not. All right. I blocked her. Did you really? Yeah, I was sick of it. The thing. Yeah, Branson. Yeah, I know. She wouldn't let me write Thunderation nine times in her own. It's all of Branson that did this to you. So tell me what she's been up to. We'll talk about Gozy Earth, because that's the name of this sponsorship ad. I slept in it last night. And? Good. Yeah, me too. Or not just the sheets. The shirt.
Starting point is 00:46:45 Oh, double. They got some clothes that I think, I mean, it probably costs of a fortune to ship because they're so heavy. If you like the feeling of like really cozy, really heavy, I feel like weight perfectly attributes to like quality in my eyes. Like if like a hoodie is heavier, I'm like, great, this is nicer. If a shirt is heavier, this is nicer. Well, there's no way that like lighter stuff costs more.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Yeah. Right. So it's like, oh, this is, yeah, this took longer, took more to do this. Yeah, it's got seven layers in it. Yeah, it's nice. Natalie Calvert, she just said this awesome thing about it. I love testimonials like this. This is just like real.
Starting point is 00:47:22 For anybody here on the fence about purchasing cozy or sheets, they really are that amazing. My husband purchased a set for my birthday. And of course, he was reluctant because of the price compared to other bed sheets we purchased. Fair. It costs more. 20% off GRKC. That's right.
Starting point is 00:47:35 But after the first night of using them, that next morning he woke up, looked at me and said, does that discount work? Code work every time? Or is it only a one-time use? To take this step further, have a house cleaner come biweekly and she rotates our sheets for us. He left a note for her instructing her to leave the sheets on. Needless to say, we're purchasing a second set, 100% worth the price. Show this to your reluctant spouses out there. And then there's a picture of just this
Starting point is 00:47:59 note that says, please don't change the sheets today. That's so funny. I mean, it's just like we can't even go a night without like with our old sheets again. That's great. It's real, dude. The cozy earth difference is real. So check them out. CozyEarth.com. Use our promo code GRKC for 20% off. They're just the best. Quick side story. When we were back in Iowa for Easter, we were looking at old home videotapes. And there's one,
Starting point is 00:48:20 it's all just like, Rachel dancing at three, Tommy's Christmas at six. And there's one that says, market to market, don't mess, which is like the bean and corn markets, like some little TV show,
Starting point is 00:48:33 like updating you pre-intern out and how the beans are doing. And so Steve Cooper wrote on there, yeah, market to market, don't mess. Nobody mess with this, all right? That's the word he wanted to use. Don't mess.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Yeah, yeah. Like, I only get two words. So no mess. No mess, please. And I'm like, that's Natalie's husband. Like, yeah, clean the house. No mess. But the sheets.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Don't mess. Don't mess. Don't you mess. Gozier.com slash ghostrunners promo code is GRKC. So good. I'll just like one or two more things I have written down. Yeah, I love it. So we had the lighting pretty much dialed, but the spotlight, which was like, it's going to be the main source of light for Tray.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Just they kept having issues. venue. They didn't have a place to plug it in. Something, there was some lack of planning on someone in the mix. What? They don't have enough. It was some kind of adapter. I don't know. I wasn't fully in the loop about what was wrong, but they were just having issues. And so they couldn't get the spotlight up and being tested till 20 minutes before the doors open probably. And so that's going to, you know, I assume, okay, these lights that are like part of the venue, these are warm white. That's like their temperature. I'm assuming surely the spotlight will match those because you can't change these. Yeah. So that would make sense, right? And so, um, right? Sounds like they don't use the spotlight
Starting point is 00:49:51 that much. That's what that's the vibe I got as well. So it turns out the spotlight is stuck at the way cooler temperature. And so people are filing in. This is like my parents living room. They have three different types of bulbs in their living room. It's kind of like what we have gone on in here. But you can't really see it. But I'm like, how do you not notice this? Yeah. And so pretty last minute, you know, it's like 30 minutes before the show at this point. We're having to make all these lighting changes somewhat. And I'm like having to talk to the camera people. I'm having to talk to the guy that's like the lighting for the venue.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Dang. And poor Nathan Coley has to be the stand in this whole time. And it's like we're working on this for a long time. So it's getting down to five minutes before like Lucas is going to go on stage. Everyone is in there. And Nathan's just standing on stage. Everyone has found their seats. And it's just.
Starting point is 00:50:39 But he's standing on stage. Oh, and Nathan is just, he just has to, he has his headset on, so he's like, he's like talking to us and stuff, but he just has to stand there. And I just felt so bad for him. I mean, he was up there for 10, 20 minutes maybe. As people file in. And we're, we're like adjusting the brightness, the spotlight. Sometimes he's just like blindingly bright, just like the center of the stage. Is it DJ playing?
Starting point is 00:51:02 Yeah, there is music. Yeah, it was Travis. Yeah. So Travis is on stage and, but Nathan's kind of front and center. Oh, and Travis is like. he's like occasionally playing little games with the audience like getting him hyped up and Nathan just up there up there in the middle that takes that takes a strong man Nathan yeah no I agree that is tough because it's like yeah maybe when at first you're like hey I'm gonna like not
Starting point is 00:51:25 completely be a statue up here but then you're like all right it's been 20 minutes was he was he was he facing the audience yeah yeah because it had to be like skin tone what's got oh true like he didn't take a shirt off and just look the other way yeah I guess I would have you there Yeah, yeah. So funny. He had to be to stand in while people are filing in. That was pretty great. What did we get tickets for tonight?
Starting point is 00:51:47 That is good. That's really good. Yeah. Lucas looks different. That's great. I have one more story I could share, but you guys have something in the meantime? Hey, no. This is the special segment.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Great. Please. So I guess for some context, I flew from Oklahoma City to Chicago, like early that Sunday morning, because I had some friends from the location of my church there who were going to a concert that night and like just hanging out.
Starting point is 00:52:16 And so... What concert? Josh Garrels. Oh, yeah. He's great. Love it. So, anyway, it was like kind of a thing where it's like, this is a little bit silly
Starting point is 00:52:26 to just like have this much going on, but it's fine. It's like FOMO, all these friends go to this thing. I'll do it. And so this is my first... I've never told anyone this story. Okay, okay. Exclusive.
Starting point is 00:52:37 kind of because it's embarrassing. So I chose to tell it where the most people will hear it. Yeah, right. So basically, I had scheduled an Uber the night before to take me to the airport because I don't want, like, I had to get to the airport around five, and I don't want to make anyone take me there. And so it was scheduled to pick me up at 4.45 a.m. I had an alarm set for 4.20 a.m.
Starting point is 00:53:03 That's enough time, right? Yeah. That's pretty good. And so it's Sunday morning. I wake up peacefully. I'm like, I yawn and stretch. And I'm like,
Starting point is 00:53:14 wait, why am I waking up naturally? Like not to an alarm. And I roll over. I check my phone. And I like, I don't have my contacts in. I can't see.
Starting point is 00:53:22 It's 4.48 a.m. Uber was scheduled for 445. So I like, I freak out. Yeah. I jump up. I put on some pants. And I run outside.
Starting point is 00:53:32 And there's a car there. And mind you. Like, so I don't have glasses because I lost them a long time ago. So I just have either nothing or contact. Okay. And I don't, I'm like, I got to catch this guy. This is great. Just to like, and so I come out there.
Starting point is 00:53:47 I'm like stumbling through the blurry abyss of the, of the dark front yard. I see headlights. And so I like walk up. I'm like squinting to try to see you. I'm like, hey, I am so sorry. Like, I slept through, I like slept through my alarm basically. Uh, can you wait for like, is it possible for you to wait a little bit while I like grab my stuff?
Starting point is 00:54:07 I was like, could you wait maybe 15 minutes? And he's like, I don't know about 15. And I was like, could you wait eight minutes? I remember specifically saying eight. And he was like, yeah, I could do that. And so I just ran inside and just got all my stuff together. And I think I did it in eight minutes. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:54:26 But yeah, that was just, I've never, I don't know if I've ever like talked to a stranger that soon after waking up and not being able to see them. I found out what he looked like when I got back into the Uber. But that was just judged his voice maybe like, okay, he's probably this age. He's a friendly older guy. That was nice. Yeah. That was setting up to be like a Seinfeld or like a Rested Development episode or something where like you got in the car with someone who is not your Uber.
Starting point is 00:54:49 Yeah, dude. Because you couldn't see who it was. That would be great. And then it connected some other way. Yeah. Yeah. And you're kind of desperate at that point. You're like, you got to.
Starting point is 00:54:59 For sure. I'm just eight minutes? Please. Yeah. Four? Is eight fine? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Yeah. And I, because I mean, I had, you know, I'd given myself 25 minutes with my alarm set up. I'm like, all my computer, like, I'd been trying to upload stuff overnight. Like, all my computer stuff is out. All my, it's like, I had to, I used every bit of that eight minutes. That's a rough, rough feeling. Yeah. To wake up and be like, honestly, you're lucky that you woke up when you did and not.
Starting point is 00:55:24 I know. I was like, an hour. Yeah. I truly like later, I was like, thank you, Jesus for like, I would. Did your alarm not go off, you think? Or do you think it went off? In hindsight, it went off. It went off and I just like turned it off thinking I'd get right up.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Yeah. And then it's just that thing where it's like you're so tired. I'd gone to bed at like one, you know. And so, yeah. Fortunately, I woke up just in time. Yeah. But not really in time. Let's get you some glasses.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Me and my dad talked about that this morning. It's like, let's just, because I lost them when I was living in the Olatheah house and I had not found them. Like, I don't know where they are. You can call your doctor if you have, Okay. And like get the numbers or whatever and just order the prescription, like the lenses online for like 10 bucks. Really?
Starting point is 00:56:11 You don't have like that. That's one of the biggest rackets in the world right now is you think that glasses cost $200. It's like, no. And I think they're going to be a little reluctant to give you those numbers because that's kind of their whole thing. Well, I know my prescription because they're on my contact case. I think it's different. It's different. I think they're, well, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:27 You could maybe, maybe chat, GBT could translate those for you. Yeah. That's a good call. Because, like, yeah, you can buy them super cheap online. Because you don't need them a lot, but you need them for function. Oh, yeah. It's really just like, yeah, if I'm going to, like, decompress before bed, I don't want to, like, still be straining my eyes of contacts. Right.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Yeah. I have a poultry of the week piggybacking off that. Great. Is the iPhone alarm slash, like, the software that goes along with it? I feel like last week, well, for, I think for months, I've been, like, having this, like, theory of, like, I think my alarm doesn't work. And that's so, that feels like a teenage boy thing to say where you go, like, yeah, my alarm just didn't go off. That's why I slept down.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I'm like, no, something's a foot here. And then last week, I wake up before my alarm. And so I get to see it. You know, I get to see him do his job. Yeah, I witnessed it. And I, what I see is my phone make the smallest sound possible for my alarm, even though my volume is turned all the way up. That's what I do before bed.
Starting point is 00:57:26 I turn my volume up for my alarm. And I go, I knew something was up. How does that make sense? My volume is all the way up. and my alarm is barely emitting a sound. You turn specifically your ringer volume up or just your volume? Ding, ding, ding.
Starting point is 00:57:38 That's like a Catherine move, dude. You're smarter than that. This is not a Jake thing. I've turned up my ringer volume every night for years. I think that it's so much more user-friendly and just intuitive to like, you have one volume switch.
Starting point is 00:57:52 Master volume. Yes, not like a, all right, speakerphone music or like important alarm that's like buried in the settings. It should all be one volume. Like how how do you want your volume to be? Yes. What's the volume right now?
Starting point is 00:58:05 And unfortunately, I just didn't know this. I don't know when that came into play. But yeah, there is a whole separate. You have to click like settings, clock, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And then it's something under, I don't know, something weird. You have to Google it. Yeah, you use your passcode. And then you've got to do two-factor authentication.
Starting point is 00:58:20 And then in there, it says, how loud do you want your alarm to be? And mine was on like the smallest setting. So I've been doing that for years. No wonder. We always thought you were a deep sleeper. I think you just had a really quiet alarm. Seriously. And I mean, I've really been relying on my like watch to wake up for the last couple of years because I'm like, yeah, my phone just doesn't cut in it. Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:39 But yeah. So hopefully that helps at least one other person out there. Yeah. Yeah. Your phone volume means nothing. No. That's a valid poultry. Yeah. Yeah. I'll do some poultry. I have this written down. Raising the price on Facebook marketplace doesn't seem fair. recently I've been trying to furnish, you know, houses and whatnot.
Starting point is 00:59:01 And I found this great deal on a bed. It was like $50. Okay. I was like, great. I will take this. And the guy responds a couple hours later, he's like, hey, a lot of people are interested in this at $50. So I think I'm actually going to raise it to $100.
Starting point is 00:59:15 What? You can't do that. High is bitter. You can't do that on Facebook Marketplace for some reason. Supply and demand, baby. This is an eBay. This is a buy-it-now price, dude. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:59:26 for whatever reason, like I understand in the housing market. I understand in so many ways. But for whatever reason, supply and demand doesn't apply to... Marketplace is sacred. You can lower the price. You can negotiate down. You can't ever be like, actually, I lowballed this to get interest and we're hiking it up now. Yeah, it just feels like it's not allowed there.
Starting point is 00:59:45 Yeah. Like, I wanted to give this guy a lecture. And instead, I just didn't respond to him. But I, yeah, just fired me up. Just crossed your arms at him. Yeah. What do you think? If you accidentally price it too low, would you honor that or would you be like, dang, maybe I should.
Starting point is 01:00:02 Either that or I wouldn't, I wouldn't admit it. I would just be like, I would delete. I would be like, actually somebody else is going to buy it. It's sold. Yeah. Once upon a time, I did this. Put something on Facebook Marketplace. Probably when Marketplace first came out, I said free pinball machine.
Starting point is 01:00:17 It doesn't really work. And I got 100 emails and messages. And I go, whoa, I got something good on my hands. and so then like one on one directly with each interested party, I started a little private bidding war. Hey, sorry. I didn't realize a guy's offered me 200 bucks. Hey, a guy, do you remember this from the K-Life House?
Starting point is 01:00:41 I remember a pinball machine, but I don't remember. Yeah, so it stopped working. And so we're like, let's just get rid of it. You know, let's make this bonus from something fun. And it got all the way up to where a guy, I wonder if I could still find the email, offered, he had a three-wheeler, like, ATV. Like a miniature ATV with three wheels.
Starting point is 01:00:59 He's like, I'll trade you this straight up for it. And I go, Peter, we have to. And he's like, we live in Prairie Village. Where are we going to ride this? Like, I don't know, dude. How funny would that be? All the kids could be a Monday. You'd have rascals on your hand.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Yeah. Where's the pinball machine? When you sit on that ATV and you tell me if you're missing. One pinball or three wheels. What do you like more? And then I think eventually we were a lot. Like, okay, this thing's really valuable. Maybe we should just, like, fix it.
Starting point is 01:01:26 And so we end up not giving it away or selling it at all. But we did get all the way up to like a three-wheel ATV. I wonder what the value, cash value of that would be. Yeah, I don't know what. Yeah, what kind of numbers we're working with? That's, yeah, I think it's one thing to be like, hey, I would like to buy this for free. Or even if I just said, like, hey, I'll buy it for 50 bucks. And somebody else, and he said, actually, somebody's offered $100.
Starting point is 01:01:50 sorry. And you just leave it at that, that's fine. But if he says, like, I'm going to hike up the price and try again. The price is now this. For whatever, like, he's basically like, like, if, and then if I read that and he says, sorry, somebody else offered 100, I have the liberty then to say, well, I'll do 125. Yes. But for you to, for you to say, price changed.
Starting point is 01:02:10 Someone offered 100. And then basically proverbially do this. Someone offered 100. What are you going to offer? There's something about, like, yeah, if you're like bidding more like, hey, sorry, I know it says free, but it's 200 bucks, actually. Or it's, yeah. Somebody said $200.
Starting point is 01:02:25 So I'm going to, you can understand that. Like, of course you take $200 over free. Hey, sorry. But yeah, if you're like, hey, price changed. Yeah. So if you want to give me more, you can. But if not, I'm going to give it to this guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Anyway, I don't know. Do that. Yeah. Nathan Coley was bragging to us that he got this incredible deal on like SD cards off base of marketplace because SD cards for whatever reason are like getting crazy expensive right now. I said, is this straight of her moves or? or?
Starting point is 01:02:49 I don't know. I know it's gas. Maybe SD cards too. Yeah. And anyway, about three hours later, he was coming over to apologize to me because one of the SD cards corrupted. And Tim was like, the marketplace, man. That's like what happens.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Was it the ones that he got on there? Yeah, I mean, it's probably unrelated, but it is kind of funny. He's like, yeah, a great deal on these from some guy in his garage. I mean, they were like probably brand new, unused into packaging, but still. Definitely is unrelated, but it's pretty funny to assume that it's related. Give me some numbers on SD cards because I see them on it. I see him on the rebel every once in a while.
Starting point is 01:03:23 Maybe I need to invest. Like I saw it. Is this crazy? This is probably crazy. I saw one terabyte. Maybe it was an external flash or hard drive. They don't make one terabyte. They do.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Yeah. Yeah. And it was not that expensive. Okay. How much are we talking? Well, was it a hard drive or a solid state drive? Oh. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:03:45 SSDs are expensive. SSD? They make. No, wait, you're talking about... You saw what... You saw a lot of... SD card, right? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Yeah, they make one... I can't remember if it was that or a hard drive. Yeah. Let me just look up. But it depends. Carl's closet. Does it have a good read and write speed? Is it a fast card?
Starting point is 01:04:03 Yeah. Get out of here with all that stuff. SD cards. If you're Scott, you would ask, how many hours does it have on it? And I would say, believe it or not, they don't measure, um, gigabytes in time.
Starting point is 01:04:14 How many hours? I think when he first got a GoPro, I gave him a hard time about that. And my micro SD still was like two hours on it. I go, I mean, what does that mean? What resolution? What it went for you? What bit rate?
Starting point is 01:04:27 No SD cards right now on the reb. Shoot. Dang. You stood to gain dozens of dollars and now you have to find something else. That's what I was curious about how much it was a dozens? Was it a hundreds? Didn't know if it was, you know, more. No, I might I might try to do some marketplace SD card buying because, I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Just as long as they aren't going to corrupt. I think that is a good deal. You go, all right, deal. Wait, hey, hey. Not going to corrupt. Is it going to corrupt on me? Are these the corrupting kind? You have to tell me if it's going to corrupt.
Starting point is 01:04:59 It's a legally thing. So good. Hey, we are presented by really cool sunglasses. No, really cool coffee roasters named Mainstreetroasters.com. Presented by. Presented by. Presented to you. I just love them, dude.
Starting point is 01:05:17 I love waking up every single morning, grinding those beans, Costa Rica, right there. I made my cups today. I usually do six cups because I give two of them to Catherine. Nice. And husband of the year. Yeah, that's right. I mean, I take four for myself. But today, Catherine, she was earlier in the day.
Starting point is 01:05:37 She ran off. She's like, they have coffee at this place I'm going to. Great. Not major roasters, but no problem. So I made four, but I made them a little bit stronger. I made like 3.75 cups of water for my four cups worth of beans. I'm going to do that again. I'm going to do that again.
Starting point is 01:05:54 That was nice. That was just a little bit stronger for me. I liked it even more. Whatever you're looking for, though, they have the right solution at mainstream roosters. I don't know if you feel the same way. I've already said this before, but I'll say it again. Caffeine has become my gLP one. I really enjoy it as an appetite suppressor.
Starting point is 01:06:11 It's real. And like a healthy way of getting it. Sure. You don't have to say, we're still waiting for the long-term day. data to come out on this. That's what you say about GLP ones. You don't say that about a cup of coffee in the morning. No. You've seen the Peruvians out there, they're doing just fine. It's a blue zone
Starting point is 01:06:24 probably. Probably. Give me on the map tab. Yeah, the Inca's, they lasted a while. Just fine. Yeah, so, yeah, go to Mastroasters.com. And get skinny. Get skinny with them. So, if you add cream and sugar, it's not going to be a skinny. It's still black coffee, though. Get your black coffee, make it however you want. Mastrooer.com. Promocode GRC, 10% off.
Starting point is 01:06:45 Who? Presented by them. Yeah, if you're willing to drive a little bit, marketplace is almost always a good idea. Because you save on taxes. You save on all this stuff. It's just a little inconvenient. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:00 How are you doing with your, your Jake Marketplace items that you got, you picked up this week from Dibs or Trash? Yes. How am I doing with them? I drank a grapefruit LaCroix yesterday. Okay. Shower.
Starting point is 01:07:13 In the shower. y'all have a shower drink yeah love it dude not that often though yeah i gotta be thirsty it's gotta be nighttime for me it's a nighttime shower i feel like it's a afternoon it's you can't you can't drink before too in the shower um other than that i've used the the trash can a few times okay throwing some stuff in there okay haven't done anything with the weed eater yet no shoveling no shoveling but I need to do something because every time it rains, I get worried that we don't have enough dirt grading away from our house. So it's going to flood our basement. So I need to maybe bring the shovel, bring the pain. But yeah, thank you for those. I haven't used them much beyond that.
Starting point is 01:07:57 Hey, ping pong table. It's going to be fun. Really, yeah, just all of it. I'm excited. I'm excited for all the things that you think you're going to take with you that you're still like, never mind. Oh yeah, there's more coming. I said time in and Nate at the video yesterday. They got to play dibs or trash yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. Time and called dibs on some stuff. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:13 Yeah. What'd you get? S. St. C. Sub. Sub. Sub.
Starting point is 01:08:17 I don't have one. Chap. I remember back of the day, like, that was all you wanted in your car. Or like, you thought the cars were so cool when they had, like, aftermarket speakers. I installed my own speakers in my 94 Ford F-150. Really? Yeah. There was no room for anything other than just like, I just want the speakers and the doors to be just, like, vastly better.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Really? Yeah, get it myself. Took forever. I'm proud of you for doing that. I would be too scared to do that, I think. Right. For some reason, cars intimidate me with that stuff. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:08:50 I'm sure YouTube was out then, but I can't imagine the, like, catalog of, like, this specific truck needing enhanced speakers. Like, I can't imagine there was a tutorial for that. So who knows how I did that. You think you did it yourself? You think you had a shop class buddy? I know. I remember doing it by myself, but I remember it taking forever.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Really? Because there's probably just so much trial on air. Yeah, yeah. I don't know what I'm doing at all. I know. And my fear is not necessarily the trial and error. My fear is like the trial and permanent error. Shock and awe.
Starting point is 01:09:20 I can't go back. Like the old speakers don't even work anymore. I messed something up with the cord. I can't even put it back the way it was. I got nothing now. Yeah. Now it's just like I have no sound. I just killed my,
Starting point is 01:09:29 killed my speakers. There are certain things even just like car batteries or when you set up a ring doorbell or even like car speakers where it's like, oh yeah. The way you plug this in is just by wrapping. this around this and you go, that's it. There's no like, yeah, yeah, yeah, like, you know, finite or I don't know, like something is, yeah, like, it's just like, just kind of wrap it around, get metal on metal. That doesn't sit right with me. I don't love that. That's fair. Yeah. You remember back in the
Starting point is 01:09:56 day people had like detachable, uh, CD players? Like the, the front face of a CD player in the car could like come out, come off? No. You don't remember this? Or do you remember the ones where you, push a button and like folded down. Oh yeah. Yeah. I do remember that. I feel like those were kind of one and the same. Like people would like take the front of them with them because they were scared that they were going to get stolen. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I never read that. Did you guys ever have a DVD player that could or maybe it was a CD player combo. They could hold five at one time. Yes. We had one. My parents still use that one. Yeah. Like, just in case you want to just rip five albums back to back to back.
Starting point is 01:10:35 You know, not hands off. I did like it. My parents, they have. They had. had multiple CD players like that. And yeah, it was like, Amy Grant, Christmas is over. Jim Brickman coming right up next. Right around the corner. It was great. Yeah. My mom would. She would load it up, maybe. You're like, all right, point in grace. Here we go. Yeah. Yeah, there was like a massive thing that would come out. And yeah, it would swivel between five different CDs. I had one in my room. That was five CD player thing. Yeah, it was cool. I never got higher than the VCR in my own room. But at the time, I thought that was great. 13 inch TV with a VHS slot. Oh, you had the combo. Yeah. Right. Right. underneath.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Yeah. Those were nice, dude. Those were nothing. Those were crazy. Sometimes I'll say things and it just, it really does make me feel like I'm 100 years old or whatever. It's like I played Madden on a 13 inch TV.
Starting point is 01:11:20 And then I go, was it even in color? My first TV in my room was black and white. But it was like a free one that we found in a garage show. You know, it wasn't like we had black and white TVs everywhere. But it was like, yeah, Brad, you want a TV in your room as a 12 year old?
Starting point is 01:11:35 Sure. You just watched it's a wonderful life over and over again. You got a black of my TV. Yeah, yeah, the old Andy Griffith episodes. Yeah, Miracle on 34th Street. I love Lucy. Yeah. It's like, I assume nothing else plays.
Starting point is 01:11:47 I don't, you can't, that's the only things you can watch. That's pretty funny. I said something to Rachel yesterday and I go, well, we were talking, I think this weekend we're going to go, we're going to go to the movies, see. Project. May I'll make. Give a take. Project J. We might, uh, Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 01:12:06 Oh, what's that one? Big one. It's already on pace to set the. record for like most successful like biopic. Okay. Ever. Something like that. So it's just Michael Jackson's story. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:20 Cool. I don't even know about these things anymore. Why don't they put that in the papers? They stop delivering the newspaper. Yeah. Now I miss out on everything. That's fun. We were talking about the movies and I said,
Starting point is 01:12:32 why don't we go to one on the plaza? She goes, is there still one of the plaza? And I go, I don't know. There used to be. go. He goes, really? I go back the day. Peter and I would go. And I said, this is going to make me sound like I'm a thousand years old. But I swear if you would go on like Tuesday mornings, there was like a certain time. Maybe I'm thinking of TopGoff, but there was like a matinee price where I go, I pretty sure it was $4. Yes. Yes. Yes. You're right. I would go.
Starting point is 01:12:58 Yes. As an adult, not that long ago. Yes. I don't remember. I don't remember the night or the day or whatever. But yeah, it was like crazy cheap on the plaza. Yes. Yeah. We would go. Yeah. And there was like the little, like you could park and then walk across the little bridge into the movie. A little, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, dude. I don't know what's there now, but yeah, Peter and I would do that. I think they, they pay paradise to put up a parking lot. I think, I think it's like, yeah, it's nothing now. I think they just, like, tore it down. That was a great thing about K-Life is like, you're kind of free from, like, you do a few hours of office work, and then you're kind of free until kids get out of school. Right.
Starting point is 01:13:30 It's like, yeah, let's hit a noon movie on the reg. Yeah, because it's like, if you don't, then you just worked for 14 hours that day. It's like you kind of need to take some time off. Yeah, but she's like, you saw a movie for $4? I'm like, yeah, all the time. Yeah, dude. I mean, I wonder what, I mean, they're so expensive now. It was Stubbs though.
Starting point is 01:13:51 Oh, yeah, I forgot. You stub. Yeah, I do. I need to go to something this week or this month to make it worth it at all because I don't think I've seen anything this week. Time comes next week with a white glove on, like, pretty good movie. I can see you loving it.
Starting point is 01:14:05 I don't know that much about Michael Jackson, do you? Not really, though. I do, but I don't. You know what I mean? Kind of like Elvis. Like, it's like, I know who he is, of course. Because by the time we were, you know, paying attention to pop culture, Michael Jackson, it was all bad. He was like a punchline.
Starting point is 01:14:21 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't really understand the face or the skin or the roller coaster, like the theme park. It's all pretty suspect. Correct. It just, yeah, he did something with McCulley Culkin.
Starting point is 01:14:34 That's all I know. man, he put out some hits. But man, he could sing and dance. I love Little Michael. You've seen the scene, the scene, the, the, the, the, the, when he did the half time show and he just stood there for like three minutes. Yeah, that's a fun clip. Yeah. Or however it was.
Starting point is 01:14:51 Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah, it is kind of cool. So cool. I love any kind of like cultural moment pre-internet where it just feels like the whole world watched this one thing together. Yeah. Everyone in the world who had a TV watched the season finale of MASH. it seems like. Everyone watched Friends.
Starting point is 01:15:06 They always talk about that. Everyone knows Michael Jackson. Everyone knows, like, I feel like all the time people are like, oh, you know that Monday night football, Tony Dorset, 99-yard touch. I go, did everyone, how big of a moment was this? I feel like I hear this reference constantly. It was the thing. My dad talks about it.
Starting point is 01:15:22 People talk about it the NFL draft last night. Man, pre-internet. They're only like six things at a rabbit. I've heard it's called, they call it like monoculture is what they say, aka like everyone saw it. Everyone watched the Oscars. Like everyone remembers that Oscar speech. Yeah, because you had five options for entertainment.
Starting point is 01:15:36 Dude. I kind of miss that. Yeah. Especially if you don't know, like now we know how much better it could be. But at the time, it's like, yeah, that's awesome. I know. Yeah, what's better? Because is it, is it?
Starting point is 01:15:50 Yeah, there's obviously more options, but like, yeah. It's also fun to just not have as many options sometimes. Yeah. Just enjoy what you got. Kind of like radio versus Spotify. I kind of miss like just good old radio sometimes. But also it's like, but then you could never listen to what you want when you want to. I was talking to Scott the other day.
Starting point is 01:16:09 I was like, what is it? I was like, I feel like I've heard some story from Brad or something like, was there some artist who really popped off or was it the iPhone? I was like, what was the thing that you missed out on your mission? And he goes, Spotify. I go, that was it. Like from when, like the era of when Scott went on his Mormon mission, like before, no Spotify.
Starting point is 01:16:24 Two years later, he's like, no one owns anything. He's like, it was the craziest thing. Like, I just click and I have it. Immediately. Yeah. How much does it cost? Technically, you can do it for free if you want to. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:35 If that seems Duckworth, it's free. Yeah, you just have to listen to ads for, you know, every 15 minutes on your Bluetooth speaker at a pickleball court. Every three songs. That was great. Between every three Christian rap songs. Oh, my. Yeah, I want to take Rachel somewhere to the movies like a little up north or something
Starting point is 01:16:57 because last night I played pickleball later in the evening and we had another massive storm. they come every two days now but this was kind of fun I mean the sirens are going off while we're playing there's a ton of like windows in there so you see the lightning it was kind of fun
Starting point is 01:17:12 the power went out at one point it was kind of intense so I begin playing I text Rachel hey I'm all done I'm gonna hurry home and see ya she doesn't text back so I'm like okay she's asleep great now I'm just gonna kind of like
Starting point is 01:17:23 chill in this storm a little bit I go to leave and trying to go down I 35 the main highway to get to my house and it's closed about halfway down. I don't know why storm related or construction, whatever. Oh, is it downtown? It was like once we got honestly close to our house, it was closed.
Starting point is 01:17:43 I don't know, like once you got to like the Antioch exit or something. I watched a couple weeks or last week when it was really stormy and rainy. There was like a flooding. Oh, I saw that clip too. No, I got him past that. Okay. Anyway, so Google Maps has me take a route where I am, I'm in places I've never been.
Starting point is 01:18:03 I've never seen before. I'm not even that far from home, but I'm in like KCK. And I was like having this like weird anxiety where I was like, if something were to happen to me right now, there would be a lot of questions. People would be like,
Starting point is 01:18:12 did Jacob have a double life? Why is he here right now? His car data shows that he's never ever been here before. What is he doing here? I'm like, this is going to raise some questions. I got to stay alive right now. He said he was coming home and then he didn't go home right away. He didn't go home right away.
Starting point is 01:18:26 And then he went to that weird, weird path. And so I can't. I can't wait. I told Rachel, I said, I have to take you the path that I took. You would not believe the streets I was on in the middle of a thunderstorm last night. I don't know why I took these.
Starting point is 01:18:40 I'm so curious. I'm in the hood. I'm not even going down like major streets. I'm going diagonals. You know, I'm cutting through stuff. I'm cutting through stuff. And these outer roads, I mean, the tree lines are down.
Starting point is 01:18:50 There's a power line. You know, when like, even in your car, I still ducked, even though it doesn't mean anything. I'm like, I think we're going to go under. It was insane. I'm like, why am I driving here? I'm going to die here and no one's going to have any explanation why. So curious where you were now.
Starting point is 01:19:05 That's so interesting. Mainly just Kansas City of Kansas. Just trying to just little, little guy just try to make his way back home. It was weird, dude. I drove home last night. And it was like, for a second,
Starting point is 01:19:16 I was like, is this a tornado? Is this what it's like? Yeah, it's like that lighting went really quickly, but I thought it was something big. Like I was stopped at the light by our house. And all of a sudden,
Starting point is 01:19:25 I just look over to my left. And there was just leaves and like wind and rain. It was like it turned. on. It was just like once I turn right here, that's where the storm is. And it's not where I am. It was so wild. It was, yeah, storms are so wild. I unfortunately, I told Catherine, I was like, I hope someday I can enjoy the rain again. But every time it rains now, I just am like, oh, I hope it doesn't flood our basement. I don't blame it. Yeah. Every time I just go down there and look and just kind of stand there for a while. Yeah, perfect setup would be, honestly, my parents' house in
Starting point is 01:19:56 Stratford, you're sitting up on a hill, you've got a nice front porch, looking west. You could see every storm roll in, but then your basement is unfinished. I think that's the dream. Unfortunately, their basement is finished. Yeah, yeah, because, and they've... And they have issues. I bet they don't enjoy the summer storms nearly as much. Carpet's been wet, you know, for six years straight.
Starting point is 01:20:15 Yeah, they just did a basement of water beds now, like, just in case. But, yeah. I love watching a good storm. I just missed that innocence of a kid, just being like, this is awesome. Yeah, you can smell it. Look at all that. Yeah. Yeah, the smell of a summer rain.
Starting point is 01:20:29 So anyway, another poultry that I have. And this is probably my own doing, which almost makes it more of a poultry for me. Okay. I'm a big, uh, self-pulch. I'm a big talk to texter on chat GPT. Not necessarily the conversational.
Starting point is 01:20:45 Yeah, but talk. Yeah. Like, and so I just talk and I'm talking. And sometimes I'll be like, you know, I'm thinking like $220,000. Actually, let's say $225,000. So I'm like talking like that. Yeah. And I know that.
Starting point is 01:20:56 that one of my issues in life is that I use the word like way too much. Okay. I'm sorry, guys. All right. Me too. Um, but I don't need chat GPT and their texts back to me. Like they're typed text back to say something along the lines of, yeah, so you know, it'll be like $70. Or, uh, if you want to like, think about it this way, then you, I'm like, they, they,
Starting point is 01:21:19 they don't need to say like ever. Like they keep clean it up a little bit. Trim the fat. Like they, they, they, but they say that in there. in the text, not even in like a conversation, they just will, they'll say something. Yeah, probably something, you know, probably like 70%.
Starting point is 01:21:35 I'm like, I don't like that at all. Don't do that. Yeah. You're the, you're the computer. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Don't emulate me.
Starting point is 01:21:42 So I just, it bothers me. But I'm also not, I haven't said, I haven't told it to stop yet. Yeah. Because you can, I think you could somewhat kind of scold them up a little bit and say, hey, here's kind of how I want you to act from now on. I want you speak directly. I want you to speak honestly.
Starting point is 01:21:58 Yep, yep. No fill of words. No fill of words. Talk like a computer. Your computer act like it. And all of a sudden it just spits out binary and I'm like crap. B-boop-pap-pap.
Starting point is 01:22:06 Not that. All right, last but not least, Ye. Got it. Ha. Ha! I saw in the latest Mr. Beast video, there is good ranchers everywhere.
Starting point is 01:22:21 Has anyone seen this? No. I haven't watched one of his videos in a while, so I don't know. He never did an ad read for him or anything, but it was a video shot. in a grocery store, which we know that Good Ranchers is not like in grocery stores. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:22:33 So I don't know what happened. I don't know if they paid for like some product placement, but I think you very much have to like disclose either way I'm proud of them. I'm happy for him. That's awesome. You got some massive exposure. We got to do our part. I hope I hope that they didn't even pay for it.
Starting point is 01:22:46 I hope Mr. Beast just tried it one time. It's satisfied customer. It's that good. Yeah. I mean, that's how we started like reaching out. Like this company is so good and the meat is so different that we want to sponsor.
Starting point is 01:22:56 Like we want to sponsor. And that's kind of what it felt like. Yeah. He did not talk about this. He didn't like promote it at all. It's not in a link in description or anything. It's just everywhere in the background. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:05 Maybe because he enjoys it. Dude, we made the mistake. I told him this last week. We made the mistake of running out of the chicken recently. And so Catherine bought some other chicken. And Catherine gets the good stuff like at the store. Like she's not like skimping out. But I didn't know that it wasn't good ranchers chicken.
Starting point is 01:23:20 And I had it. And I was like, this is kind of odd. Like this one's kind of off tonight. Yeah. She's like, it's not good ranchers. You can tell the difference. Even with the best stuff at the grocery store, you can tell it's not good ranchers. So don't run out.
Starting point is 01:23:33 Make sure you choose the good stuff from good ranchers. And it's all American. This stuff is straight of Hormuz proof. They're saying. You don't have to worry about these foreign affairs, what's going on. It's all coming in-house, baby. US of A, welcome to the table, American meat delivered. Get your good ranchers.
Starting point is 01:23:52 Get a discount. Get a free protein add-on for life when you use the promo code. KC. It's such a good deal. Please get it. Please get it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Picking back on that. Have you, uh, you guys know about whisper, whisper flow? You guys heard of that? Oh, is this a what's going to replace keyboards or something? Oh yeah. Maybe not. It's like, it's like you talk and then it replaced. Yeah, I saw what's his name,
Starting point is 01:24:18 Diary of a CEO. Yeah. Yeah. I saw him like advertising it one time. I get sponsored ads for them a lot. I've heard very little about it. So what? It's, yeah, it's, it's, Basically, like, iPhone has like a voice dictation where like it will listen to every single thing you say. This is like the same thing, but AI is kind of like getting what you actually want to say. It can take out filler words. Or if you say 220,000, actually, 225, then it'll just not say the 220 thing because you're like changing your mind.
Starting point is 01:24:46 It like cleans up your text and then you send it from there. Yeah. And it's just like, yeah, it's really nice, really helpful. Scott is still doing all of our customer service. He's got that on his computer. now. So Scott is like a machine responding to customer emails because he's just like whispering, you know,
Starting point is 01:25:06 um, to his computer. I will say when you're sitting across from a coffee shop, very confusing to know when he's talking to you and what he's not. Because he's kind of talking constantly. Yeah. And so you're always kind of like doing a quick check like me. Yeah. That one seemed like. Nope. Okay. I heard of Jake in there that time. Okay. The guys His name is Jake.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Yeah. Are you wanting, are you wanting cash back for this? Like, do you want me to pay for the coffee or is, is this on you, man? Dude, wake up. Okay, sorry.
Starting point is 01:25:37 I didn't. Yeah, so he's cranking tickets, but yeah, also it's like, I got to keep my distance. I want to know whether he's talking to me or not talking to me. I really like that for stuff like that. Like,
Starting point is 01:25:48 I would, it is great. I would use that constantly. Yeah. Because I'm sure he can do it in, you know, 30 seconds versus five minutes. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:57 He can crank. Dude, iPhone kind of screwed them over a little bit. I don't know if they, like, intentionally did it, but it used to be, like, you tap a button and you're whispering, baby. You're in there talking. And now they've made it like, you tap the button and it pulls up their app. And then you have to close out of their app and go back to it. I think they know what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:26:15 Because iPhone's going to do the same thing. They're going to have their own version of it. Oh, we'll integrate. Dude, can we just talk about Siri real quick and how Apple intelligence? Sorry. Sorry. Can we talk about S-I-R-I real quick? And Apple needs to just buy.
Starting point is 01:26:27 another AI company because Siri, Apple intelligence is terrible. Yes. They need to just buy someone else's. Like, they don't even let you ask a follow-up question very well. Like, one time I was like, hey, lady, can you define,
Starting point is 01:26:41 what was it for the kid? Oh, Medley. We were talking to the word medley the other night. You defined Medley. And they gave me a definition. I was like, what about like in a musical sense? And that was the new question. It wasn't like a conversation.
Starting point is 01:26:55 It was like, try rewording it. know what you mean by like a musical sense. Yes. It was like here's what I found on Google for like a musical sense. No. S-I-R-I, you D-U-M-M-M-Y. I almost never use it. And I use it this past week because I was like, I don't know why it was in such a hurry. But I was like, hey, mm-hmm, how late is the cafe open at Lifetime Fitness in Lenoxa, Kansas? I'm even giving it a little more context than it should need. And it pulled up like, here are directions to lifetime fitness. Oh, yeah. It was like,
Starting point is 01:27:28 there are several lifetime fitness in Kansas. I found four results for lifetime fitness. Yes, that's what it was like, basically. I was like,
Starting point is 01:27:35 you can't have intelligence in your name. This is, this is 2015 type series stuff. This is terrible. Yeah. You're right. It was.
Starting point is 01:27:42 It was good when it was, it was good while it lasted. Uh-huh. I use it for calculator all the time. I'll say, what's 1584 plus 1946? That's good. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:27:52 I only use it for calling people. It's about it. Spotify? We use it on Spotify with the kids a lot. Great. Man, Rosie is not
Starting point is 01:28:01 understandable on that thing, though. Yeah. Rosie and Henry. Yeah, I don't really use it at all. Leja. Leha,
Starting point is 01:28:09 happy. Anyway, took Henry with me yesterday to get Costco. When I go to Costco, I go to Costco. And I don't go very often. And so that's my point is like...
Starting point is 01:28:23 You go to Costco and people think that guy's prepping for some sort of... Yeah, probably. They were like, oh, it must be raining tonight because that guy, yeah, it's like, Catherine's like, get some oatmeal, you know, and I'm like, I look at the expiration day. I'm like, it doesn't expire for like a year and a half. Why don't I get four of these bad boys? I don't want to go here all the time. Every one time we run out of oatmeal. Yeah. Hey, get some syrup. All right, I'll get four. Yeah, get some cereal. Three of those bad boys, you know. So by the end of it, Henry literally had to have like stuff on his lap because I had so much. Because Captain, Captain, there also wanted me to get like paper towels and napkins. Those things are big old like bulky things. He can hang on to those though.
Starting point is 01:29:03 He's got the syrup. Oh, yeah. He's got like a mat he's got multiple multiple people at, uh, at Costco last night commented on how tan Henry was. Okay. And I was like and for whatever reason, tell me if this is weird. I was like, yeah. And my wife's not even Hispanic.
Starting point is 01:29:21 I probably should have said that. I don't know. I was like, I was like, yeah, my wife's darker. I was like, he's not Hispanic. or anything. But yeah, they're like, he's really tan. I don't know. Thanks.
Starting point is 01:29:33 He puts on self-tanner or bronzer. Yeah, he's, yeah. He loves it. Yeah, he accidentally ate the bronzer one time. Can't get it out of him. Anyway, Bo has his first baseball game. That's right. Yeah, Wednesday, right?
Starting point is 01:29:48 Tuesday, yeah. And he did all right. They're doing that coach pitch slash tee ball. Great. So if you don't get the hit on the first four pitches, you get the T. Great. Yeah, the T. to you the first couple times.
Starting point is 01:29:58 That's right. No problem. No problem. Third time, he nailed it. Yeah, he had a good hit. He's fun,
Starting point is 01:30:04 man. He just looks like a little baseball player. He's cute up there. He always wants to like, he, it's actually, he looks pretty cool doing it, but Catherine's like,
Starting point is 01:30:13 you should probably stop him from now on. He'll, like, run after the ball when it's a ground ball, and then he'll, like, slide, slide and grab it with his glove. And then he kind of like, but he kind of,
Starting point is 01:30:24 like, he does it pretty coordinated where he like slides, grabs it, stands up, and then throw. Like almost like you would see like a, that's kind of fun. Shortstop doing it.
Starting point is 01:30:30 Like slides to the ball. Yeah, but it's like you don't have to do that every time. Likes to get low. Yeah. But it's kind of fun to watch him, do it. But it's just chaos,
Starting point is 01:30:40 dude. There was this kid on the other team. His name's Gunner, actually. Fun. You know, Bo is almost six and Gunner is three. This kid is tiny.
Starting point is 01:30:47 I mean, and he can barely hold the bat up. But I mean, he's just so cute running out there. And, yeah, anyway, it's fun times with the kids. playing baseball.
Starting point is 01:30:57 He's a three-year-old. I know. Like coach pitch. Well, and I think his brother is all, his older brother's on the team. So maybe his parents were like, let's just put him together and they'll take their money, you know.
Starting point is 01:31:06 Was his brother's name, Cannon? Yeah, that'd be cool. Gunner Cannon and rifle. Shootie. One more thing for me. Yeah. I talked last week.
Starting point is 01:31:19 I think about, oh, about this guy. Oh, yeah, the Airbnb. I think I told you, I think I told you this off the podcast last week. but it is almost official. I'm not 100% positive. I'm pretty positive. I know that this guy is D1 football player.
Starting point is 01:31:35 Did I talk about this on the podcast? I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's entering in the NFL draft. And I said, I say the thing about him possibly having, like, his draft, like, moment at the Airbnb. Yeah, I think that's what we were, like,
Starting point is 01:31:47 hoping for. Did he go with first round last night? No, no, no. Dang. He told me, I met him the other day. And he's like, yeah, they're projecting me like fourth through the seventh round. Okay.
Starting point is 01:31:56 But I heard him last night. This is where I'm like, I'm not trying, I'm not intentionally like creepy on this guy by any means. But every once in a while I get a notification like, oh, somebody was seen at the Airbnb. So I'm like, just checking in. And I hear him talk to his friend. He's like, I'm not going to have my dad be the one filming. I mean, he's still on Android. That's what you heard.
Starting point is 01:32:16 Yeah. So I think, but I think they're like planning on like, yeah, they're, they're having. The announcement will happen at your Airbnb. I believe so. that's pretty fun. Pretty fun. Wow. So, yeah, I don't know how much more I should out this guy's name or anything like that.
Starting point is 01:32:32 Pretty fun. Yeah, pretty cool. That'd be so awesome to find that footage. Use that as my like, like, do you're advertising. Big moments happen at this Airbnb. Yeah. You have a name for your Airbnb? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:46 Right now I'd probably get the back, what am I, back porch bungalow. I thought bungalow was in the name. I decided, I threw it out there just randomly. And Catherine's like, that's kind of generic. Maybe you can change it sometime. I'm like, all right, cool. Thanks, Kath. What's you're playing with the name?
Starting point is 01:33:00 Yeah, yeah. So what are you thinking you're going to change? It's probably a placeholder, right? Yeah, what's the actual name going to be? I tell you, I'm going to call my, I'm going to call my Airbnb business, whatever, home-based getaways. Home base. Home-Best. Ghostrunners.
Starting point is 01:33:13 It's all baseball. Home-based. Home-based getaways. Yeah, I don't know. Got a little base, a little home base in the logo. Oh, you got a logo? Yeah, home-based, Go-Hewers. A little logo.
Starting point is 01:33:25 A little chatchipi logo. You know, nothing crazy. Etchutis getting pretty good. Yeah. Anyway. Reviews of the week. Reviews of the week. I had one come via email.
Starting point is 01:33:36 Hey, TB and J. I love the podcast. I, Gen Z, have listened on and off since 2020, but started listening consistently last spring. I was introduced to the pod by some of my dad's former youth group students, millennials. My thought was, what kind of weird millennial podcast is this and wrote it off? but over time,
Starting point is 01:33:53 you guys have become one of the highlights of my week. The jokes, the bits, the new segments that happen once and then never are seen again are always hilarious and keep me laughing all the way to and from work. According to Spotify, timing is a big part of my life since I am getting recommendations to listen to other podcasts that time it is in. The correct opinions episode makes sense,
Starting point is 01:34:15 but I'm not sure about Oxyde and Friends. He sent a screenshot of just his other... It's yeah, his screenshot on Spotify says, more episodes featuring Tyman. What in the world? I was confused as like other podcasts. There's other episodes, but I guess I was on that one of correct opinions. Oxide and Friends. I don't know about Oxide and Friends.
Starting point is 01:34:34 Yeah, I'd never heard of that. Caleb says, thanks for all you guys do and who you are. Thank you, Caleb. Let's go, Caleb. Ruby O2 gave us a five-star review. Mini Marathon Relay. I made a great decision to switch from listening to my playlist on repeat to listening to you guys while I've been training for a mini marathon.
Starting point is 01:34:54 Fun. Just wanted to say, we did it. You all crossed the finish line with me. That's awesome. Congratulations. My husband and I have listened to the pod since COVID days. TBH, to be honest. It's kind of crazy that I've spent many hours listening to you guys for six years and haven't met you in person.
Starting point is 01:35:11 But we remain grateful for you guys. Thank you, Ruby. Congratulations on the new marathon. Ruby, we did it. We ran the marathon together. That's right. Congrats, Ruby, Ruby. All right.
Starting point is 01:35:26 Would you guys like to open your hymns? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Time in. I have a request for you to learn a song. And honestly, you might already know it because it's Stattler brother sang it. Okay. What is it?
Starting point is 01:35:40 Since Jesus came into my heart. Is it since Jesus came in? Wait, no. No. We'll learn it. I want to like, I want to do it right. They sang it at church. Yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 01:35:51 I'm singing at church this past Sunday, and I've been trying to find, like, the perfect version ever said. I listened. I went on, like, a 45-minute walk the other day, and all I did was listen to that song by different people. Yeah, 14 different versions. Because there's a million Gaither-style versions of that song, and I'm like, I don't want this, like, choir with, you know, 180 people.
Starting point is 01:36:10 And I want to find, like, a cool, like, Josiah Queen version of this song. Yeah. Where's the Chris Tableton version? Yeah. There's one. Randy Travis does one. I'm like, eh, not bad. But anyway.
Starting point is 01:36:20 let's make that happen timing. Great. In the future. Fun. You request Jake. Do you have one ready to go time? Or would you like?
Starting point is 01:36:29 No, I was looking. I think someone commented requests, but I can't. Oh, right here. How great thou art. And because he lives are requests from Preily Sinclair. Preley.
Starting point is 01:36:42 Does Oh, a happy day count as a him? I don't know if I know how that would go. Really? Yeah. That's like a, distract. Is that right? Yeah, or like Baptism Sunday. Is that like, yeah. Yeah, oh, I knew that melody.
Starting point is 01:36:56 That's it. All right, put it in the hopper. Dude, have you ever seen the video? I love this video when I worked at camp. My friend and I, um, oh my gosh, what song is it? Oh, is I love you, Lord. Oh, yeah. But like these two little black kids singing it. Oh, and they get it. It's like, let me say, let me say, let me say, let me say, let me say, I love you Lord.
Starting point is 01:37:21 That's great. Anyway. How great they're an upbeat version? Sure, sure, sure. What page in the hymnal is this? Please open to number 302. 302, got it. You want me to beat, you want me to...
Starting point is 01:37:34 I don't know, just like a... Can I use some as war? A little bit like a boom chap maybe, or... Boom it, chap it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll do a little boom chap. Yeah, great. I'll follow your lead. Okay.
Starting point is 01:37:48 But just make it like nice and up. Nice, good pace. No, no, I got to go on you. I got to go on you. Okay. Oh, Lord, my God, when I am an awesome wonder, consider all the worlds I hands have made. I see the stars.
Starting point is 01:38:07 I hear the rolling thunder. Thy power throughout the universe display. Then sings my soul, my savior, God, to thee. How great thou all. How great thou are Then sings my soul, my savior God to thee How great thou art, how great thou art. 302.
Starting point is 01:38:35 That's 302. That's been 302. That's been 302. You did a different, different, no, not tempo. I changed it up a few things to fit the upbeatness. Now we're going to do bad bunny version. All right. Aye.
