Starting point is 00:00:00 Yo, yo, good morning. Good morning, Jacob. How are you? I'm great. Just last night, Kyle's fiance, Ashley was telling a story. She was like, I'm always getting just like basic phrases confused. It's embarrassing. I was at like a work luncheon.
Starting point is 00:00:15 And a girl was like, you know, we got a vacation home in the Bahamas. And she was wanting to say like, okay, twist my arm. She goes, okay, pull my finger. Oh, dude, twist my arm. Arm is one, Ashley, vindicated. I'll say it right now. I'm a big, I struggle, twist my arm versus pull my leg. Pull my leg means you're getting like bamboozled, right?
Starting point is 00:00:41 Or you even yank my chain. Yank my chain and twist my, pull my leg are the same. But twist my arm is like, all right, if you're going to force it, right? But pulling legs is not forcing. Oh, hi. This is, these are my crazy children. Look. Yeah, we're face painted.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Yeah. Face painted me's Fireman. And Rosie went in all colors and I was asked. I got hold. He looks like blood. Okay, yeah. My culture is not your costume, okay, guys? Ghostrafford Indians.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Yeah. Come on with it. How do I keep talking when there's, I was not a disband. This is beautiful. in here. Booboo, boobo. This is great. Here we are.
Starting point is 00:01:37 This is a great scene. This is what happens when you moved to Arizona, Jake. You know? Can't get away from these wrangly kids. Pull my arm. I guess I'll hang out with you. All right. Yank my finger.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Do you like Dad? Do you like Bo's? It's Spider-Man. Oh, it's Spider-Man. I could see that. Bo does look like Spider-Man. What did you say about Mr. Jake? I don't know if he's going to be able to hear us, guys.
Starting point is 00:02:09 But anything you want to tell Mr. Jake, we miss Mr. Jake, don't we, Henry? Yeah. Yeah, big time. We always think, was Mr. Jake over there? No, not anymore. Right? All right. You guys need to go so we can continue being funny without you, okay?
Starting point is 00:02:26 How do you do it? Maybe later, maybe later. Bebee-bee. Bebee, BB, BB! Say thanks for listening. Thank you. Say thanks for listening. Thanks for listening.
Starting point is 00:02:39 See you later. See you later. Go start his podcast. Say, roll the theme music. Do you want to say that? All right. Say, love you guys. Say, see ya.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Say as loud as you can. See ya. See ya. See ya. See ya. See ya. Uh, uh, oh, ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts And white meat too, Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat.
Starting point is 00:03:12 So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead. Get on your feet because it's a ghost's podcast. Come on. All right, you guys got to go. Don't interrupt me anymore, okay? You know what that means? Interrupt. It means don't come in here and talk to me. Henry?
Starting point is 00:03:38 Goodness gracious. Rosie, Rosie, Rosie. you're pressing things on my mouse. Goodness gracious. All right. See ya. See ya. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Go out and see Mom. Okay. Go tell Mom, we're on the podcast. And mom will say, don't be on the podcast anymore. Oh, my. Okay. Any other phrases that Ashley struggles with here? That's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Yeah, I think Rachel even has the same thing, too, where it's like the restaurant's called brown bottle. And you call it any color. but brown like we should go to a green bottle for dinner tonight it's like oh man you're close i know what you're talking about though almost almost there yeah um speaking of colors do you watch the world cup speaking of colors yeah dude i did are you yeah this is this the first time you watched first time i watched and i had a good time watching here's here's what i mean we're this is so we're recording this the day after the u.s beat don't
Starting point is 00:04:41 me Bosnia and Herzegovina. Is that how we're saying it? That sounds good. Okay. So we don't know what's going to happen on, well, I guess Monday. This is coming out before we play, right? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:53 So we can talk cultural, you know, first current events. Sometimes I feel bad when we're talking about NFL that's happened like a week and a half before. But I feel like the U.S., without knowing all the stats, it felt like the U.S. was just aggressive the whole time. And I don't know if that's just soccer when you're good versus when you're bad, but it felt like it was like a little bit of like, no, we're American, so we're going to get after it.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Back to back world war champs. Yeah, dude. Forget about Vietnam, but just. And all that stuff that happened in Iraq. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like the first World War ones, we did just fine. I love these T-shirts. I just felt like we were like, like, get like, it felt entertaining because it felt like
Starting point is 00:05:39 we were always either about to score or trying to score. It was never like, oh, I don't know if they're about to, like, it was like, we didn't have to worry that much because we were just on offense the whole time. I watched it by myself, but I had that same analysis where I was like, is this fun because the U.S. seems to be dominating and we have 80% of the possession? I wonder if I would like soccer as much if it wasn't the United States playing and the team I was rooting for wasn't dominating because that makes it easy to watch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:08 it does and I feel like every time this is once again just like football player watching soccer analysis but it feels like every time that we've played so far except for that one game that didn't matter we've been doing that like where it's just been like we're going after it we're we're doing cool moves and we're running to the to the hole and we're doing all this stuff like the whole the goal like we're going for the hoop the hoop we're just we're attacking we're attacking the goal line every time yeah I mean crashing the boards I don't kind of crash the boards in soccer, I feel like. You can't.
Starting point is 00:06:42 A quarter kick? That feels like everyone's crashing the boards. Dude, that one kick that, uh, what do you call it when it was just like over the wall of people that the second goal that we scored? Oh, yeah. They call it a Bosnian's got a jump. No vertical in Bosnia. They had a six seven guy and he's just like, I'll be fine. He's not getting it over me.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Oh, yeah. Watch this. Hers. Herz, it's going to hers a go vina past you. Yeah. Yeah. I bet. I know it's got herz, but you still got to jump.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Yeah. There's no place like home. Sorry, go home, Wizard of Boz. Nice. See ya. See ya. But what was I going to say? Oh, if, like, I saw an interview with Christian, once again, don't even know how
Starting point is 00:07:29 I pronounce his last name, Pulisic, Pulisic, Pulisich. But he was like, I didn't really see that goal because I was ready to, uh, get the rebound and like hit it in so i was like playing i was playing soccer like while he was kicking so yeah you can crash the boards uh yeah i like that it feels like they have like goal line formation yep like they pack the box pack the box you know yeah every once in a while it's like hail merry time you know get rid of the goalie or like what i felt like i mean multiple times throughout i watched the end of the game before it because it was like going to extra time with uh,
Starting point is 00:08:08 Senegal and Belgium. But like, I, it's, it is hard to like, withstand all the people whining and, and falling down. Like,
Starting point is 00:08:16 it's, I do have some notes. Okay. Let's talk about them. The first note was, yeah, just, I forget who it was.
Starting point is 00:08:24 I don't even remember if it was an American or a boss, but they were severely injured. They're on the ground for like five minutes. Like, medical personnel has come out. They've stopped the game. Like, it was really bad.
Starting point is 00:08:34 And then when he's finally standing on his feet, you know, the ref tells him he has to sit out. And you can, like, read his lips. He's like, I have to sit out. Like, what other major sport do you get a medical timeout and then just like expect to keep playing? Like, dude, you're either injured or you're not. Come on.
Starting point is 00:08:51 And I think he sat out. It seemed like for 20 seconds. Yeah. It seemed like, like he just had to literally go out of the game and stay in there for a second. And then they're like, you're good. Come on back. Like, you know, which is kind of like what they do in football.
Starting point is 00:09:04 It's like, you have to sit out for a play if you're going to get like a, a, attention but yeah that was ridiculous obviously the the the red card was a huge deal so like that guy our our best player who i called malagon maligan for the first couple couple times and i was like i think it's balligan um but he uh that that seemed incidental as a as a football player such an accident the word the word that we like to use in football american football is called incidental contact it's called playing sports and sometimes you get injured right i couldn't it's one that's one thing if they called it a red look at us talking talking it's one thing if they called it a red card in in like on the field and then they go look at the replay and they go oh gosh my bad but they called
Starting point is 00:09:48 it i think a penalty on the other team and then they go to the replay and they go hold on a second i think the americans actually um did bad you know what i think he actually should be kicked out of this game and the next game it was so bad and it was so clearly an accident his foot hit the other guy's foot, you know, incidental. There's two explanations. Bo, you look like the kid that's like, I like turtles. Bo, don't buy...
Starting point is 00:10:13 You look like you got into like a winery and went face first into some grape smashing. I can't help you right now, Stud. You can go ask mom, okay? All right? Or just be patient for an hour and a half until I'm done.
Starting point is 00:10:31 What was I say? just, I mean, it was just, the ref either was paid, like, I'm not this guy, but I'm, I'm being this guy right now. Oh, yeah. Ref was either paid off of some sort or like something like that, or it almost was like, you know how like when, like, your dad is the coach and it's like, hey, they're going to give that guy preferential treatment because his, his dad's the coach. And the dad's like, watch this. I'm going to be even harder on my kid. Like, it felt like maybe it was one of those two things. It was either like, that ref was. was like very biased against USA or they were like, hey, the U.S. is playing at home soil, so they're going to get home cooking. And so instead, let's go ahead and just show them like, we're not, we're not going to give them any sort of favoritism. We're going to call this ridiculous call on them. I thought it literally could be his dad because they looked so similar, the Raff and our player. The dark black guy and the non-dark black. Yeah. And like the European guy. Yeah. George Lopez. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:32 so who knows but that bummed me out it bummed me out and I I hope for everybody's sake but mostly for Bollagon's sake he that's not his last World Cup that can't be his last World Cup game here in America
Starting point is 00:11:48 it did feel for him he looks like he's by far our best like scoring threat he's in the mix every play and then now he has to sit out the next game of a World Cup that is such a serious offense sit out the next game of the World Cup up. Yeah. And if you lose your, you're out. Like, yeah. I know. I. So of course, even more than normal,
Starting point is 00:12:10 it's like, now we really got it. I really want to win and just stick it to everybody. Yeah. We'll see. Um, a couple other thoughts on in and out this episode and I apologize. Oh, that's okay. Anyway, go ahead. Soccer. Um, early in the second half, Boz made a bunch of substitutions. Okay. And that really bothered me how the substitutions work in soccer. Never really paid much to you or did it. Baza are you?
Starting point is 00:12:39 Hey, Catherine's in the mix now too. Everybody take a turn. My parents will be showing up in history. Paper Henry. Hey, Brad, how's it going? What'd you say? I didn't think I'd be on camera. You're fine.
Starting point is 00:12:53 It's kind of blurred out. It's a pretty nice camera. So you're blurry. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But so my interpretation of this, it's like, oh, you'd like to sub. Well, hold on a second. Let me grab this huge board. And like the head referee, I think it's the head referee.
Starting point is 00:13:13 One of the main referees is like, hold on, I got to adjust the dial on the side to get number 24 going in for number six. Keep the clock running. Keep the clock running. No, hold on. All right. How else would they know? How else would they know who's going in for who? All right.
Starting point is 00:13:29 And this is branded, by the way. There's an advertiser on the board. Show that. Everybody good? All right. And then what else? I noticed, dude, when you get subbed out of soccer, dude, they act like it's like,
Starting point is 00:13:40 I don't know, they're going to death row or something. I swear, the first Bosian guy, like took the other guy by the head and he kissed him on the forehead when he was being subbed out. It's like,
Starting point is 00:13:51 like bring honor to my family. I do think, and ghosties can correct us if we're wrong, but I think when you get subbed out in soccer, you're out of the game. And I thought that too, but I was like, still. It's like strength and honor.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Yeah. Yeah, yeah. But it's like, hey, that might be it for them. So I don't hate, I don't hate the kiss on the forehead. I think we're not kissing each other on the forehead enough. Like,
Starting point is 00:14:13 when was the last time you kissed another man on a forehead? Like, think about like a pitcher coming in to relieve someone for baseball. Like, yeah, you were done. You're out. A pinch hitter coming in. Like you're out.
Starting point is 00:14:24 They're like, hey, Ramirez, sit down. Johnson's going to bat for you. And he like puts his bat down. He taps you on both shoulders and. Yeah. He's like knights, nights the other guy real quick. Bestow honor upon home plate.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I've done all I can. Hey, I mean, if they're going to be dramatic in the way that they fall and they get hurt, why not be dramatic in everything, you know? Like, stay true to your brand, I guess. And I think they had the time. This ref was only halfway done doing the numbers. So he's like, I'll show a little affection to my. brother here while we're subbing out. I haven't been on on the internet social media,
Starting point is 00:15:00 whatever, like the places that are funny enough, I'm on Facebook some, which is just not funny. Are there people that are doing like, we'll call them, we'll call them memes. We'll call them, yeah, memes, I guess is the right word for it. With those, like, like, like, using like, like, like setting up a joke and then using those pictures as a punchline, like, how much is gas in California? And then the guy holds up an eight and 20 or something like that like that's funny like they need to be doing that you know what i mean like if they're if they're not i did see that last night think like that's that's a pretty funny like potential there like maybe friday should do something you know world cup theme like just a few memes
Starting point is 00:15:40 like that yeah we need like number one to be subbed in for like 79 or something like that like yeah how much are or pro's on fourth of july and you can always edit them yourself right like yeah but for the purest for the football purists they would know who on the netherlands is number one dude this is not realistic this is not puilistic but yeah something like that i don't know you could reverse engineer a lot of jokes out of it i guess but like that's a good call funny funny little thing so i don't know if people are doing it because like i said i haven't seen it i don't know i i did feel old slash um out of the no the other day i i'm trained transition away from soccer. Do you mind?
Starting point is 00:16:26 I'm going to bring us back a few more notes, but by all means. Okay. I just want to say, like, I am out of the news enough to not know. My friend the other day said, hey, I know it's women's basketball, but what are your thoughts on Sophie Cunningham? And I thought, I don't even know what you're referring to. Yes. I know who she is. Those first two words. What do you mean women's basketball? Is that an oxymoron, bro? What's going on over here?
Starting point is 00:16:51 A women's basketball fan? sure yeah yep um no i'm just kidding uh i know that like yeah i know who she is but that's about it i was like i don't know what's going on with her like i don't know real quick yeah what my opinion
Starting point is 00:17:07 figure out yeah like what do you want me and so i was like what about her and then he gave me a hard time for being like listen man i don't want to have to like give you every single ounce of context just like i'm just trying to you know shoot the crap with you i'm like okay that's fine And so then I sent him the clip from the office where Andy text Daryl and Daryl just looks at it. He goes, Megan Fox, question mark. He's like, you're one text away from getting blocked. Sophie Cunningham?
Starting point is 00:17:41 Seriously, I haven't. He still has not explained to me what he was wanting to banter about. I was like, I don't know. I think, are you wanting to analyze her game? Are you trying to ask me if I think she's cute? Are you like, what, what's going on with Sophie Cunningham that we want to talk about here? I have a few, just like nuggets I could throw it about Sophie Cunningham, but I don't think I have a ton to say or a ton of like thoughts. Apparently, there's some pointing thing.
Starting point is 00:18:09 That's all I got. The pointing thing, which they were playing the Phoenix. Mercury. Mercury. When that happened. So I was like, shoot, could we have been there? I didn't know Caitlin Clark was in town, but maybe they were home.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Either way, they were playing Phoenix. Yeah, a little bit of a scuffle breaks out. And I don't really know the context of why, but she just like, it's kind of like I'm dumb and dumber. Like, if that's C-Bass over there. That's kind of what she was doing. He walked on my burger. I don't know why she did it,
Starting point is 00:18:42 but that has become memed in a bunch of different ways. Probably my favorite one is like my toddler, when he sees someone disabled in public. Just like, what's going on? Yeah, it's like, we all see it. We all see it. Other Sophie Cunningham stuff, I think she's like known, even like for being like very attractive.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I think she's kind of known of like being a bruiser and like being a protector of Caitlin Clark. Okay. So I'm sure people like that. That probably wins her a lot of brownie points. Okay. Genuinely, like, is that enough for somebody? to text you and just expect you like we're going to have we're going to have some good conversation
Starting point is 00:19:25 about this is going to be great and it's my friend ian who's in hawaii so it's not even like like this is like happening over multiple days because of our time difference like time difference and like it's not like we're having like amazing back and forth about this it's like one day at a time we're getting a text off so it's been like a three-day saga are you guys already texting about sports and he's like let's keep this going he is the one that back in the day like helped me like help me like kind of spur on the like WMBA like pluck a fan from the uh yeah yeah to play against them and we went viral for you know being both sexist and geniuses like it was like every other problem it was like this is the worst thing ever this guy could never beat in it w like this is a genius
Starting point is 00:20:08 you know these guys are idiots you know um but yeah no we we do so we do every once in a while text about i guess stuff like that but not no once a year maybe i don't know not much So anyway, man, that's funny. I just felt like I didn't, like I was like, I'm missing something along the way here. She is like relevant, so to speak, like a while back. I feel like someone was for Friday, like a guy we had hired was trying to like get us like celebrity cameos on the YouTube channel. And for the most part, I was like not interested. Like Drew Breeze really likes pickleball.
Starting point is 00:20:44 And I'm like, I know he does. I really don't think Drew Brick. Like we played pickleball against Drew Breeze. Yeah. And it's just not going to perform well. But an example I gave, I go, if you can go get Sophie Cunningham, that would, you know, that would work. You know, you have to get. Yeah, you have to get the right kind of person.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Hey, do you need something? You just want to wipe your stuff all over my. All right. Don't just draft me, please. Yeah. Sophie Cunning. I'd watch Drew Brees. So I like degrees.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I will say, Jake, let's, let's boost your boy real quick. You ready for this? my favorite Friday video of all time. That workout video, dude. I loved it. Actually? Yes. I was so entertained by it.
Starting point is 00:21:32 I watched it. So there was, I guess it came on on Friday, obviously. Friday pickleball YouTube channel. I think that day I had done, whatever, it doesn't matter, but it's not like we keep score, but there were some days where I'm like, I've been a great dad. I'm pulling my weight. I basically told Catherine, like, Listen, I can help out with bath time, but I would love it if you did it tonight.
Starting point is 00:21:57 And so I sat on my bed, like, while she's doing the bed. I mean, I did, for the record, just, just know I did a ton. I think I even did like dinner that. Anyway, it doesn't matter. You earned it. Just don't judge for this, because it does sound like I'm just a lazy dad. But, um, and I sat there and watched that because often, let's be honest, I'll watch some of your video and then I'll like kind of do the tap ahead.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Like, okay, let's see. have this thing ends kind of thing i watched every single minute of that video we put the kids to bed katherine is you know in the living room and i said man i watched this funny video i don't even know if you would think it's funny or not of friday but like will you just watch like the like a few minutes of it with me we watched the entire thing again like watch it twice in like an hour and a half like a 25 minute video like she kept being like no i want to keep i want to watch more i don't know what it was dude but we I thought it was so funny and so good.
Starting point is 00:22:53 So just wanted to let you know. I loved it. That's great. Well, thank you. I think someone else, I think Kyle even said, he's like, dude,
Starting point is 00:22:58 I was really like magnetized that video. He's like, you three together are just so funny. And, you know, it's one of the things. When you do, when you look at something enough,
Starting point is 00:23:06 you know, you maybe lose a little sparkle for it. But I did think the first four minutes were really strong. There were so much random stuff happening. The guy's drilling. That girl's dog came up. Yeah. It's like,
Starting point is 00:23:18 you kick that dog. Dude, I don't kick dogs. You don't kick dogs. You don't kick off. Yeah. The fact that, like, Isaac was, the guy was praising Isaac, but Isaac thought he was, like, bashing on Isaac.
Starting point is 00:23:28 And so Isaac was, like, more motivated because of that. He goes to lift up his leg and I go, watch out for the blood. That part is fun. Yeah. That's crazy. I mean, there's just so many funny, funny moments in it. So if you haven't watched that one, go check it out. Well, thanks, dude. Anyway, I had that thought.
Starting point is 00:23:47 You know what that means. It's the sound of a new sponsor. as of July. So Main Street Roasters for the first time ever is sponsoring us in July of, man, now that is odd. I think I got, like I had something in my mouth
Starting point is 00:24:04 and I felt the taste of it and I was like, man, that's like nothing I've eaten all day. Like, why did that taste sour? Anyway, I was in the middle of a hilarious joke teasing you guys about Main Street Roasters, the official title sponsor of Ghostrunners for the first time ever in July of 2026. So God bless you.
Starting point is 00:24:20 our troops and God bless our roasters. Take 10% off. Anything you want on the URL and forever. It's not limit one per customer. It's not limit one per email. Go crazy. I'm sure there's another holiday coming up. What's a good reason to buy coffee right now?
Starting point is 00:24:40 August 1st, right around the corner. It's going to be here before you know it. Back to school, baby. So get whatever you need for Mace Roasters. They're great. They're incredible. and like I said, sponsoring us for the first time this month, this year. We're so excited.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Please support them. All right. Let's talk more about soccer. I know you're just chomping at the bit. I do think the soccer ghosties are going to love that we are like opening the episode with it. Yep. Did you feel like the sport is a bit chaotic at times?
Starting point is 00:25:11 It's a little too chaotic for my, for my like left-brained mind. Expand on that. I don't, yes. I mean, more chaotic than you would think it is. Like sometimes I, and obviously this is World Cup, so it just feels like it's higher magnitude, but sometimes it does feel like I,
Starting point is 00:25:29 there's no slow parts really, except for when they just pretend to be hurt for a little bit. Yeah. Like in my head, I'm like, nothing really happened to soccer. It's like, well, but if you, every once in a while with USA, especially, I like look away and I come back and it's like, what? We scored?
Starting point is 00:25:43 So you never know. It's something about the like, the ball went out of bounds. go like scurry over and grab it as fast as you can and then throw it in whenever you want it's something about that's like that doesn't feel like an officiated sport get it as quick like there was a guy literally like begging i don't know if he was like asking a fan or like a ball boy but he's like hurry it's like you shouldn't be requesting things from a from a non-referry and a sport to me yeah yeah you see at one point the second half there were two balls on the field at once it was like
Starting point is 00:26:13 chinese checkers like that's cool with us like we don't stop playing and like, sorry, let's go back. Also, how are they doing the, like, what are they putting down on the ground to signify, like, that's where the ball should go? You know what I'm talking about? Shaving cream? Is that what it is? I couldn't tell if a shaving cream or like a ripped up, you know, t-shirt or something,
Starting point is 00:26:34 like some, some, like, you know, rags from the garage that they just put out for. They yank them real quick. I couldn't tell if it was like, yeah, disposable, like, you know, not disposable, but like, it's going to go away. What's that word? Disposible. Compose. So biodegradable.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Bodegradable? I don't know if it was biodegradable. I noticed that the head referee had like a belt on and then like a, you know, looked like a thing, a soap on the back, a dispenser. It looked like he was a massage therapist. He's like, I just needed handy, so it's just quicker. Yeah. But then I was like, that has to be for like the little like semi-circle.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Okay. Haynes. Also, those referees have to be in unbelievable shape. Soccer referees have a certain look to them. And it is like. In shape. Yeah. But like in a different, like in like a wire your shoulder so broad kind of way.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Maybe that's just a runner's body. I don't know. But yeah, they have to cover a lot of field, you know? Yeah. It's impressive. I did write down soccer would be such a hard sport to officiate. The whole thing is a gray area. It's just constant like he shoved me down.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Well, he didn't shove you down. that hard. Well, when you went to the ground, it wasn't naturally how you would get shoved down. You know, it's like you have to make so many judgment calls. It would be hard. Isn't that most, I guess not baseball as much? Football, basketball. That's true. Maybe just like contact sports. Maybe it's just the World Cup, but it seems like every call is argued. No one agrees. It could be so egregious. You know, there's sometimes in, you know, football, it's like, yeah, that was, that was past. interference.
Starting point is 00:28:19 You got too early. Right, right. You know, but this is just like every call, oh my gosh, it could have gone either way and it went against us. Of course. I know in the NBA, like, they got really into flopping and then they've gotten penalized for flopping. Why don't they think about doing that for soccer?
Starting point is 00:28:35 Or maybe the soccer people are like, no, that's just part of our sport. That's part of the art of being a soccer player is knowing how to flop well. I don't know. They've got the roll down, kind of a stop, drop, and roll action at times. Yeah. Maybe we should all just be more dramatic and, like, act like we're hurt more often. Honestly, that's what my kids do and it work pretty well.
Starting point is 00:28:56 So what about this is a random thought that you made me think of with the shaving cream? Last night, I can't remember. I think it was the U.S. goalkeeper. They call them goalies. If you're a, you know, if you're a pitchhead like me, they call them goalies. And I noticed, like, the ball went out of bounds, and it, like, grazed his water. bottle just on the side of the goal for whatever reason I was enamored by the water bottles like I was like that's crazy they're just like right there like like like I don't know I don't know why
Starting point is 00:29:30 that was like so wild to me to just think like that guy just if he wants water he'll just grab some water I know like he'll just put it back down himself like what a normal dude that's just like what I yeah it's like soccer it has this chaoticness to it but also this casualness to it like Yeah, just bring your own water ball out there. You'll get thirsty. I mean, you're not even doing anything, 80% of the game. So yeah, bring your water. Yeah, refill it when you go back to the sideline.
Starting point is 00:29:56 They got pitchers over there. Yeah, it's just like, I don't know. I guess just in today's world where everybody is like such a professional and there's, you know, somebody hired to do every single thing. You would think there'd be like a water boy that would like run out and like squirt him, you know, from seven feet away perfectly in the mouth and then run back. I'd like to treat the goalies, the keepers, like, like, like gerbils and have a little spout in the corner of the goalpost.
Starting point is 00:30:22 And he just goes and suckles from that. I think, yeah, you use that as like a potential fulcrum, a potential angle to hit the ball off of and go in. Yeah. Oh, he hit it off the upper, upper 90 gerbill. Yeah, he gerbled it. You're not making it jervilled it for all the pitch heads out there.
Starting point is 00:30:40 You've never seen more like that before. That's just all they yell when they do score. Gerbil! Okay, what about this? Americans. I love Americans. They're the best. We're number one.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Have you heard that? Did you hear? We're number one. I think out of all the things that Americans do, one of the things that's not great, especially in soccer settings, is this cadence for a cheer. They were doing that.
Starting point is 00:31:15 And I thought, we're better than that in the World Cup. Like, I feel like in Europe, it's like they have 45 second long like you know oh and we're like and there's like a percussion aspect to it come on america yeah yeah come on america come on eagles it's like this this is the best we can do dude i was hearing stuff on my tv i mean they weren't even like saying like america or sock it was just like random i i heard susan b anthony and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yes, I heard that too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're just running out. They're getting so lazy. They're just doing random stuff. I don't hate that. I don't hate, like, let's just go to the history of America real quick. You know?
Starting point is 00:32:09 Harriet Tubman. Underground Railroad. Frederick Douglass. It's like, wait, I think there's a theme here a little bit. Roads up parks now. Anything, though. Yeah. Hot dog baseball.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Yeah. Soccer game. Fire me up for that. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But let's go blank. I don't, I don't. We can do better for like a big soccer.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Like those soccer stadiums that are like unified and just screaming something. It sounds so much cooler than the, the, that chant. I also like to see us. Even though we have no real reason to. I do like the, I think some European countries do this and also Minnesota Vikings fans do this. like the big like biking clap. Yep. I'd like to get into that and have like a series of words that we say while we do it.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Yeah, maybe now that I'm thinking about it, it does feel like that chant that I'm describing is a basketball and potential baseball chant. Football, I don't hear, I don't hear that chant that's on a football stadium chant. When you have 70,000 people, you don't do that. Like the skull thing sounds awesome.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Skull! Skull! Over and over again, sounds sweet. Ball! Just one syllable thing? Yeah, pass. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Anyway, I, uh, yeah. Yeah, I know it. Jake, it's a favorite podcast. But you can say all sorts of stuff. It's soccer. It's soccer. It's fine, dude. anyway uh but yeah overall america we keep winning and i kind of am just i know yeah it's still
Starting point is 00:34:02 kind of early but then i see all these stats of like we don't ever do this so we are doing very well so this is fun yeah this is fun it's fun all right that's soccer thoughts okay no it was fun it was good love it um all right here's a i got i got plenty of random things Let's go ahead and talk about this because it's, I think, two weeks old now. Did you ever read any books by Jan Brett as a kid? You know what I'm talking about? Jan Brett. Jan bread?
Starting point is 00:34:34 No. Jan Brett. Gin bread. Gin bread. Gin breaded. Jenny, Jenny, Jenny, Brittany. She had one called the mitten or Armadillo Rodeo. You might recognize some of this.
Starting point is 00:34:50 Anyway. She was known for. as far as I can tell having like the main picture was like on the page obviously but then onto the side was like a picture kind of foreshadowing the next
Starting point is 00:35:07 page and we unintentionally as Ghostrunners hosts pulled the Jan Brett of podcasting episode titles where we named a title after the the we named a Monday episode after the Wednesday
Starting point is 00:35:23 theme. You know, so maybe we're just, we're just trying to be like Jay and Brett in a lot of ways. This is what I'm trying to say. That is funny. Yeah, I did it the first time on accident. It's like, dang it, freaking rivers. That's the last time I trust the AI overview of what we talked about.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Okay. And then when I went back to change it, I was like, oh, this will be fun. I'll just change it to something else that also happened Wednesday. And then I meant to change it back and I forgot. I think that's so good. I think it's so funny. So anyway, shout out. Jam Brett. Shout out Jake for, you know, being a Jan Brett, you know, unofficial fan.
Starting point is 00:35:58 That is a good comparison. Years from now, someone's going to be like, I love that don't boil the ocean take. That was so funny. Let me find it. Oh, yeah, it's the episode after it's titled, don't boil the ocean. I got to remember that. Exactly. That's why you need Brandon's Coffee Corner's website to find when we actually talked about it. That's right. All right. I have a, I want to know what would you do, all right? What would you do, Jake? John Quinones. Yes, John Queenonais slash Jake Queenonais. I went over to, long story short, I had this person stay in my Airbnb for a while, like seven or eight days, and it got super hot in Kansas City.
Starting point is 00:36:36 And my AC unit was not keeping up good enough for them. And so the very last day, they're like, hey, can we just get one day discount, you know, and go to a hotel? No problem. Gave him a discount, got the AC fixed. But I went yesterday to go check out and make sure that the AC was feeling good. Anyway, so went over there yesterday and then I'm checking out to make sure the cleaner did a good job, you know, and cleaner looked good. I opened up the fridge, nothing in the fridge. I open up the freezer and there is a tub of ice cream in there.
Starting point is 00:37:08 It's about three-quarter full. And it looks like I didn't like check this out too much. The brand's called Whitey's ice cream. I'd never heard of it before. Let's go, whitey's. takes you know they're playing in seattle so it just makes sense um why these ice cream i don't know this brand but it just the the packaging at least made it look like a high-end nicer ice cream brand wow the people that stayed there were driving nice cars not whatever not that that says
Starting point is 00:37:43 everything about them but i'm just giving you some background as to who these people are um what would you do with that ice cream I mean, it would take a superhuman to not let curiosity get the best of you in that situation. It was Moose Tracks ice cream, which is one of my favorite flavors of ice cream. It was Moose Tracks, dude. Dude, you don't understand. I know, I know, but did I tell you the flavor was Moose Tracks, dude? All right?
Starting point is 00:38:10 How much did you eat? I haven't eaten any yet, dude. I did. No way. At first I was like, oh, I'll take it with me. And then I'll bring it home to Catherine and maybe we can have some tonight. We were having friends over that night, and I was like, perfect. You want some ice cream.
Starting point is 00:38:26 And then I was like, it's probably not going to, I had to go to the other flip house next. So I was like, I don't know if it's going to stay cold that long. I guess I could just eat a decent amount of it and throw it away. And then I thought, I know myself. I'm not going to stop until that things. I'm going to be like, I'm wasting money at this point. I've wasted whiteys. And so I put it back in there.
Starting point is 00:38:50 And which I don't even know, is that even wrong? as like if you're staying in an Airbnb and you open up the frit and like there's there's something in the freezer is that almost alarming to you of like ah well huh oh like should i throw it out as a good host i don't know their booking was over and the cleaners had been done cleaning correct correct yeah i think you you have to take it out one or either whether you're eating it or throwing it away okay after this i'll go take it out um so i told some friends last night that were over here for dinner and this girl de merris one of our friends was like they live close to the flip house she's like i'll go by and pick it up right now
Starting point is 00:39:30 i'll go by the way home yeah it sounds great and then but then we did think like were people are for sure scooping it out and putting it in a bowl's or were people getting in there you know who cares bacteria can't live when it's that cold situation dude you know H, I, R. I don't know. You said bacteria can't live. It's that cold. Yeah, you're fine.
Starting point is 00:40:00 That's impressive that you didn't eat it. I do. I like the idea of you taking it home to your friends. You being like, yeah, I got this, this brand, this new brand from the grocery store. They're like, oh my gosh, Whitey's, I thought this is only in like Minnesota. and then you're like, no, I got it from the grocery store today. And then they are so excited. Like they're from Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Oh my gosh. I didn't know why he's was here. We got to find what grocery store was it? You go, all right, I stole it from the Airbnb. All right. It's not even mine. It's someone else I ate half of it already. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:33 That's pretty good. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Just, man. Yeah. No way. Our family owns Whiteys.
Starting point is 00:40:41 We're from South Dakota. Wow. You got this here? Yep. Totally here today. Yep. at the at the bodega off of fifth street yep yep i got it around that drag how's work how's what's new anything shaking you got you got any new new new deals or raises or um hips or anything what's going on
Starting point is 00:41:04 whitties whitey's i'm let me double check that's what it's called i'm almost positive whitey's ice cream whoa whoa whoa whoa dude hilarious. I just realized this. I'm almost positive. And this is not me like setting this whole story up to like do this on the podcast. I promise. I'm almost positive that this is my friend Bo's dad's ice cream company. I just looked up Whitey's ice cream. And it came up Whitey's ice cream Davenport, which is my friend Bo is from like the Quad Cities in like he's on the Illinois side. But I think he told me one time. Oh my. No way. Let me look up.
Starting point is 00:41:49 So this really might have been imported ice cream. That's crazy. These people aren't, I mean, these people that were staying there, they had just moved out of their house and they were trying to like stay at this house until their new house was ready. So I don't think like they're Kansas City people. Whitey's ice cream, Toonberg. I'm going to look that up. Yeah, dude. Whitey hired Bob Tunberg at 15 years old.
Starting point is 00:42:14 And over the years, Wydie and Bob became close friends. eventually leading Bob and his wife to owns, oh my gosh. That's, I can't wait to tell Bo this now. And now I got to go get Whitey's. Whitey's ice cream available in Kansas. Let's see. This is, I can't believe this, man. Yeah, at Hy-Vee, apparently.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Wow, okay. Okay. Okay, Toonberg. That's amazing. That all came full circle. It looks cool. I've never heard of it. And, you know, anyway.
Starting point is 00:42:47 wild dude anyway I did not eat the ice cream yet I'm curious how I don't know stuff that stuff that you eat with a spoon is just a little bit less like like fair game to me I don't know
Starting point is 00:43:02 obviously like if a half-eaten bowl of cereal is in the fridge that's different I don't know but frozen stuff does feel different anyway so yeah what's going on with you whitey's
Starting point is 00:43:14 dude I feel like a a lifetime of things has happened since the last time we talked. I mean, I'm in a new house. You could see like, yeah, dude. We're trying. We're trying to unpack. It takes forever.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Yep. Looks like a house. Thank you. Got a pool? Got a pool. Right before this, actually, I dunked my head in it to wake myself up. Okay. That's kind of nice.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I think I'm going to use that a lot. Probably not. Not too much. I think a pool, a pool boy comes like, once a week. Okay. Sweet.
Starting point is 00:43:52 That's nice. Yeah, we showed up and the move was pretty smooth. I'm trying to remember now. This feels like forever ago. But yeah, about a week ago, they were like, all right,
Starting point is 00:44:05 we'll call you between 7.30 and 9.30, and then we'll meet with the storage unit. They called it 615. I was like, all right, here we go. Better early than late. I was not awake. And I had to give him the old, hey, this is Jake.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Trying to pretend like everything's normal. Everything's cool. Yeah. What is your, what is your tactic when you're sleeping? You're about to answer the phone? I think like clear your throat before you answer. Okay. And then really try to like open your eyes up.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Do you ever, I do a few. I'm awake. I do a few practice talks. You don't do practice talks? Do you? Yeah. Hello? Hello?
Starting point is 00:44:46 Hello? Hello? Hello? Hello, this is Brad. And every time, every time they're like, oh, were you asleep? Catherine especially, he's like, oh, sorry, I woke you up. I'm like, I've never fooled anybody off of it. You won't practice ones.
Starting point is 00:44:59 Yeah, so maybe I just need to do the eye thing. Or maybe I need to go dunk my head in some pool water first. I don't know. But let's see what I wrote down. Immediately, you know, we meet these three guys. And Rachel goes, I don't know about these guys. I miss the Kent's, Kent two and Kent three. of course.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Okay. She goes, these guys, they look like breaking bad characters. They did kind of resemble like the twins and the boots a little bit,
Starting point is 00:45:25 you know? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Those guys were, yeah. Those guys were, were terrifying.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Like, I'm surprised that they didn't care. Guys. Yeah. Yeah. Man, those are some good scenes, though,
Starting point is 00:45:41 when they're after Walt. Amazing. Yeah. So good. The parking lot. Everything was pretty smooth, but we did get to the house and our pool was like bright green. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:54 And as a non-pool guy myself, I was like, I don't think that's how it's supposed to be, but I'm going to go ahead and send a text. And yeah, they were like, whoa, okay, it was blue yesterday. So we're going to go investigate what happened. I was like, all good. My tetanus is updated. I'm going to go for a bath. And they were like, don't, don't swim in it.
Starting point is 00:46:12 I was like, okay. You're like, no problem. I'll just dip my head in there real quick. Okay, I'll just do forehead only. okay um i haven't learned about uh a little bit about that since having this hot tub at the Airbnb and it's not that crazy you just you just throw a bunch of stuff in there and wait for a little while and it'll it'll clear out most of the time yes the pool guy came and then 24 hours later that pool is bright blue and it was like man what are they putting in this pool yeah like whatever they put
Starting point is 00:46:39 in there can make all this algae or whatever it is go away instantly and now i'm going to roll around in it that's probably not good yeah right It was so green though. Isaac came over and he would just stare at it. And he goes, if I look at this long enough, I can convince myself this is like a Mark Rober like slime video or something. It's like I really like a film or was it just like green water. Does that make sense? Like I think that's how it got green is the pump had gotten turned off somehow.
Starting point is 00:47:08 So it's just sitting still green water. And so yeah, you really could like you could block out everything else. You're like, no, that's just Nickelodeon slime, I think. That's just mountain dew. Okay, okay. But it's all good now. I didn't know that button was going to make that sound happen, but hey, welcome to an ad about good ranchers.
Starting point is 00:47:38 That button is called Music Bed. Is that song called Bed? Why is it labeled Music Bed? I thought it was going to be like a database for like, you click into music bed and then you've got all these song options, but that's music bed. I'm realizing now it should have been the cozy earth ad because it's got bed in it.
Starting point is 00:47:56 Too late. Well, make it work. Music bed, baby. Let's just have this going in the background the whole time. Hey. People say don't crap where you eat. I say don't eat where you sleep. Like music bed.
Starting point is 00:48:13 I eat at the table. And Good Ranchers says, welcome to the table. Oh yeah, my arms are wide wide right now. That's called landing the plane on the whole bed joke. So, Good Ranchers. They're always running amazing promos. The main thing that you need to know, I'd say three main bullet points are that it's all American,
Starting point is 00:48:33 it's all organic, and use the promo code GRKC to get money off your order, to get expedited shipping, to get a free protein add-on indefinitely, as long as you're a subscriber. So they send a box right to your door. It's extremely convenient. It's, I'd say competitive pricing. I'm not going to tell you it's like, it's half of what you're spent at the grocery store. It's not quite that. I mean, it's high-quality meat.
Starting point is 00:48:56 And the prices reflect. that. But it's, I would say it's very on par with what you're going to find at the grocery store, but the meat is like so much better for you. And you're paying for convenience too. So that's my honest sales pitch for Good Ranchers, really convenient, really good chicken. They have stuff that's not chicken. I can't speak to that. I'm sure it's great too. But it's all American farmers, all in-house. And once again, God bless our troops, good ranchers.com. American meat delivered to you. Take us home, Bad. All right, that's good. That's probably good.
Starting point is 00:49:33 And then the main couple things I think for moving in is it's, so Rachel did a lot of like the kitchen and downstairs. And because these movers are like, hey, we'll take the boxes with you. So whatever you can unload while we're here. So I'm like, hurry. All right, let's unload these boxes. So it'll take as much cardboard as they can. And so I'm doing all the wardrobe stuff.
Starting point is 00:49:52 And I think 70% of what we own, not clothes, 70% of all of our belongings are Rachel's sweaters. I mean, I've never really taken good inventory on her closet before unloading. And I mean, all of it is just, I'm unpacking only things that we will never wear again. Like, all we own is sweatshirts. This is insane. I get to my room and it's just sweatpants and hoodies. And, you know, obviously when you're unloading, it's 100 degrees outside.
Starting point is 00:50:21 So you just think I'll never, what were we thinking? We'll never go somewhere cold ever. We're going to be the first. Yeah. I did. I'm like texting people like, what do you do with all this? And I think we might like send a suitcase of winter clothing back with my parents, send a suitcase of winter clothing back with Rachel's parents.
Starting point is 00:50:43 And they just keep it. And then we don't have to pack it when we go. It's not terrible idea. It's unbelievable how much. That is fun when you're like like sometimes we'll like switch our drawers basically for summer and winter. And it's like, I forgot about that. You're going to feel that way every time you go.
Starting point is 00:51:00 home. Like, like, oh, I forgot about that hoodie. I love this hoodie. Yeah, my Stratford hoodie. That's funny. Yeah, we're going to be like, oh, wait, no, we are, I think we didn't do that much downsizing when we packed up and moved because other people kind of packed it for us. And yeah, we try to throw stuff away, but this is our stuff. Yeah. And now, I mean, we're going to be downsizing so much now that we've unpacked it all, which is not the right way to do it. But it is just like, oh my gosh we don't need any of this it's insane so yeah but do you think rachel's going to be able to get rid of stuff like it sounds like maybe she's like maybe it's a little bit of both but maybe it's like her personality is she's naturally cold all the time so she wants sweaters but also
Starting point is 00:51:45 i think people like are just suckers for certain things it sounds like she might be a sucker for sweater like i get it like i could have a million hoodies and be like i i love that hoodie I want one of hats or you know shoes or whatever like like it's like you wear two shoes at a time and yet I want to have 25 pairs of shoes you know what I mean yeah we'll see we'll figure out how much we have it Rachel's probably been to goodwill already I mean legitimately probably four or five times with like multiple boxes I love it so we are we're doing a good amount of downsizing now that we've now that we're here yeah we'll see what what clothing looks like but um probably saw on Instagram I did find the passports.
Starting point is 00:52:26 So I was exciting. They were in just like a box of random stuff. I felt like a cartoon character because once I opened the box and started to see a few things, I was like, I think this was in my nightstand. I think this was in Rachel's nightstand.
Starting point is 00:52:37 And then I start throwing it out. Like it's like a movie or something. Like Tasmanian devil. I was so excited. Yeah. It's like when you like are digging for gold and you see like the one little like corner of a treasure chest and you're like,
Starting point is 00:52:51 I was so motivated. I bet that was electric. How far into the process did it happen? Like, like, was there a point to where you thought, I don't know if we're going to find this? Yeah, exactly. Actually, I'd been pretty optimistic this whole time. Like, there's no way we have 99% of our stuff and then not our passports. It just, it doesn't make sense for the, you know, only that to be missing. We'll find it. But then that day of unpacking, it's like we'd open up about half the boxes. No, no passport. And then we opened about three-fourths of the boxes. And that is when it crept in for the first time. That is when I did my first Google search, first ever, like Chad GBT, like, hey, my friend might have lost his passports.
Starting point is 00:53:34 I don't want Chad J-P-T thinking about that, right? That's amazing. What would you tell me to tell my friend to do? Listen, my friend is getting sued by this pickleball ping pong company. So I did. That afternoon, I googled it for the first time. Like, what would I do? And it was basically like, not good, buddy. It's not good. But then, I mean, probably 30 minutes later is when we found him.
Starting point is 00:54:00 So that's great. We've opened up almost every box now. We're missing some shoes, but not the end of the world. Maybe we'll find him somewhere else. But, dude, it's a lot. It's just so much cardboard and so much crap. Sure. Yeah, I mean, this is the first time you've had to physically do anything for it, right?
Starting point is 00:54:19 Like, you've had somebody do everything else where you're, They're like, dude, moving? Kind of a lot, man. Yeah, just everything's already perfectly in boxes and just getting it out of the box to where it goes. Right. Still so much work. Yeah, that is. But I feel like I always tell people that like move into houses.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Like, you got, I don't even know. I probably changed the, you know, timeline depending on their situation. But I'm like, you always have, you have three months before, or you have a year before you're going to be fully unpacked and like, you know, whatever. So he got some time before you have to feel like, oh, yeah, we're still not packed. Like, you'll be all right. Yeah. And both for our parents land in Phoenix this afternoon. So that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Got some help on the way. Okay. That'll be great. Yeah. Your dad. I would love to get just like a quick sound bite from him. It's just how he's feeling, how he felt about the passports. You know, because like on some level, I'm sure he, I saw his text was like, how dumb do you have to be?
Starting point is 00:55:20 But also, like, you're just worried about your, you're like, you're, you're never going to stop being a parent to your son. And it's like, oh, man, I feel bad. Like, you know, I'm worried about him. I don't know. I want to hear what his, his feelings were about the whole thing. But. Yeah, I wonder. Because I bet my mom is, like, quietly the one actually worried.
Starting point is 00:55:39 And my dad is probably like, oh, this is a great opportunity to just make a joke. Yeah. Could be. All right. I, uh, you have more, you want to say about that? I don't want to move on too fast. No, I don't think so. It just, it feels good to be in our own home.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Yeah, I bet. How long has it been? A month, give or take? Um, yeah, I think it was exactly 30 days from, you know, leaving Kansas City to like moving in. So 30 days out of a suitcase, something like that. Um, yeah. Yeah. There's more updates on the house, but we'll, we'll pause for those.
Starting point is 00:56:19 you can go. All right. I have kind of a, I don't even know what kind of segment it is. We can name the segment as we go. The beginning of the segment is called Best Buy is so sad. All right. I just went to Best Buy recently.
Starting point is 00:56:35 So I'm kind of all of a sudden becoming like pretty into my tech stuff on this whole setup. Like I got my roadcaster. I've been getting wireless mouse and, you know, keyboard. I got a new monitor. all these different things. Because I've been not only been podcasting with you, obviously, virtually, but like been doing all this wholesaling, you know, trying to do all this real estate stuff in my computer.
Starting point is 00:56:58 And so basically kind of turn this into like a true home office kind of thing. Anyway, my first, my first complaint is that Apple got so stingy with their ports. And it felt like I remember my first MacBook was a MacBook Pro, which I know it's a little different but a MacBook Pro my freshman year of college and I had everything on that bad boy I had Ethernet ports I had like you know it felt like whatever and I even bought I don't know five seven years ago something like that a two hundred dollar laptop to use for my CNC machine and it had 16 ports on it and now Apple's only given me two ports in a charging station that kills me so I had to go to Best Buy to buy like this hub thing to like connect
Starting point is 00:57:48 roadcaster roadcaster camera yeah all the things all the dongles which is just something you shouldn't do when you're buying a premium product in my opinion but I'll just say I wanted to go yeah do you have opinions on that you have thoughts on that that's good no I keep
Starting point is 00:58:04 going baby that's great you're down with that you're driving with that you're cool with that so I went into best bikes I wanted to get it today because we're recording this morning and so I just I was sad for Best Buy, man. I mean, like, Best Buy was the place I wanted to work as a high schooler. Like, I was like, it's awesome. You can, like, it has rows and rows of DVDs and CDs. It has
Starting point is 00:58:28 iPods. It has all this cool stuff. You could play video games. You can play the video games. Yeah, you can crank your neck and like, yeah, play the video game. It's like, it's like, they're trying to figure out ways to take up space and Best Buy now. Like, there's just like this massive, of like open area where they're putting like one TV out and then a bunch of TV boxes behind it. And I'm like, this is like your, this is like your prime area. And that's what you're doing here is like just putting TV boxes in there. Or like they got electric lawnmowers in there now, bro. They have a whole station for Theraguns like a whole like like almost like you'd see for like iPhones and Apple store for Theragons. And I'm like, listen, there guns are cool. I'm not hyper ice is cool. But like you don't
Starting point is 00:59:14 need a whole you don't need to take up you know 30 square feet for this or whatever it is I don't know um and so it just made me sad man there was a whole section for like blenders I was like who's going here for blenders this this used to be a this used to be an awesome thriving place and it just made me kind of sad and so my segment so so so like basically my thought is like man I missed that I miss that I miss good old best buy. But I'm like, you can't, you can't complain about the old days, but then also accept the good days that we have now. Kind of like, you did like a stand up on this one time.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Like, man, I would have loved to live in the 1920s. And you're like, yeah, good luck with Olio or whatever you said. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so here's the game. I was born in the wrong generation. Yeah, yeah. So here's the game. Because I do, I do miss things about the 90s.
Starting point is 01:00:05 But then I have to, it's kind of a reality check of sorts. So we're going to see if we want to trade something for, for today, for, for, for something from the 90s. Okay? Okay. So it's kind of like, you know, you see like, you know, a trade has just been announced, you know, Boston gets Paul George and Philadelphia gets Jalen Brown. It's like that. But it's like, hey, current day gets this or, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 01:00:29 So current day trades video on demand, aka Netflix, Hulu, Prime. But, and this might be, this is a two-four, you know, like two-for. You get that out of there. but a blockbuster is crushing it on a Friday night and so are the movies the movies are just bumping all the time I don't have to think about that that much I would take that trade would you yeah because if there if it really is convenient up like there's blockbusters and family videos like there are McDonald's or something yeah yeah and it's like that's so fun it brings back all the nostalgia it really was a great like customer experience I loved honestly that would still be quicker than
Starting point is 01:01:11 how I pick out a show right now on Netflix. I'll scroll for an hour. I'll watch 35 trailers and still not know what to watch. That would be quicker, driving to Blockbuster and picking something out. Yes, dude. Yes. Okay. And the movies, that makes me sad that the movies these days are like, you can go to a movie
Starting point is 01:01:28 right away and just know, no one's going to be there. You know, we're good. I missed the old movies. Back in the day, one of our movie theaters in town even had like its own like, like pre pre show real like singing this like day and i had the movie song and it was like when you're saturday it's like even extra special because you get that song like they don't do that anymore and it's obviously there's a great experience to watch it at home but i think i would trade that i'm with you that's a good that's a good trade offer yeah it's like it's obviously convenient you can
Starting point is 01:02:03 watch everything you want wifi is in the tv but if blockbuster's bumping yeah so So awesome, dude. So fun. That was probably my like strongest one. I have I have probably like seven or eight of them total. No Uber eats, but or whatever no Uber eats door dash, whatever. But Chili's is a Friday night destination.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Like it's like a social hub. Like you're going to see some friends at Chili's that night. You might have to wait. Okay. Smoking or non. Okay. Yeah. People are smoking in there.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Yeah. That's part of the trick. I don't DoorDash very often. I'll take that trade. That sounds fun. Yeah. Like your community is there. Your friends are there.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Your friends of friends are at Chili's. Like it's packed. Like we got to get a reservation. Oh my gosh. I forgot. Yeah. We're not going to get a table. That's good trade.
Starting point is 01:03:00 Okay. So far two for two. All right. Next one. No prime day. No, no prime day deals. No Amazon. You know,
Starting point is 01:03:09 online deals, but Black Friday is an unofficial holiday again, which I feel like is easy back a 10 year, you know, Black Friday, I feel like just became huge. And then all of a sudden online people are like, well, let's just do it online. But it was electric. Yeah. Me and my sister used to love waking up early with the moms and just just people watching. We weren't buying anything. But yeah, I miss that. I would definitely take that. Okay. Prime day. I feel like I kind of miss prime day a little i like oh is it today oh it's a couple days oh okay i got time then oh i missed it you know it's like i'm not really doing a good job taking advantage of prime day anyway yeah i'm trying to think of one i didn't think about this yet but what would be a a fair trade like what would
Starting point is 01:03:54 you give up no what would you what would you take back in order to give up amazon prime in general or would you now that that is something is it's too good it's too good i think yeah i think you have that you get Amazon Prime video and then on top of that you've got like the Whole Foods delivery or whatever it's like man Amazon's got me just not on Prime Day to give up Amazon these are kind of apples and oranges a little bit excuse me for that phrase but um you do you no longer have Amazon Prime but the gas well you're not going to care about this that much but the gas price or what they were you know 25 years ago I think you'd have to go like gas and grocery maybe. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:43 And how is it? Yeah. I think gas and grocery and, yeah, same salaries. Yeah. Okay. And inflation. And yeah. Because it's like, all right, I got to go to the grocery store now.
Starting point is 01:04:59 I got to buy everything now from Walmart. Well, luckily, it's a dollar for 20 hot dogs. luckily we're 16 dollars a week all right all right next one no Spotify but the entire albums
Starting point is 01:05:18 of like artists albums are dropping at the same time no deal yeah I know that one that one's tough Spotify is you go I know amazing I think that's one of the ones that we we take for granted quite a bit these days
Starting point is 01:05:35 I do like the idea. Go ahead. I was just thinking about Spotify the other day. How did they ever figure out like the structure of Spotify? Like how did they know? It just seems so confusing, especially when you're starting it, like what to charge for an ad
Starting point is 01:05:51 and then what to charge for Spotify premium to have all these songs for free and then what to pay the artist. Like you have no idea how many people are going to use this or like what it should cost and credit them. I think it's mainly just kind of been the same price forever. It's been like around. down 10, 15 bucks for Spotify premium, like forever.
Starting point is 01:06:12 But man, that had to be confusing. Like, we're going to redefine the music industry. And they nailed it right off the bat, basically, with the pricing. Do you have any idea? I'm guessing that this is a negative for them. But like, surely they're making less money as musicians now than they were back then. Do you think? I feel like I've heard that or seen stuff.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Like, streaming doesn't pay very well. Like, you have to sell tickets, basically. You have to be a performer. You have to play live. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What about this one?
Starting point is 01:06:43 This is kind of on the same lines, I guess. But no YouTube, but everyone saw the Super Bowl commercial at the same time for the first. YouTube would hurt my job a little bit, but. How so? I could pivot. That's what entrepreneurship is. It's problem solving and it's pivoting.
Starting point is 01:07:05 Yeah. I would do in. We just do everything we do on YouTube in person. There are things that, you know, when you watch the Michael Jackson documentary, or you watch the OJ documentary and you're like, the entire nation was watching. We're never going to have that again. And I miss that. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Let's say, yeah, similar. Like, yeah, no YouTube, but everyone watched the American Idol season finale. Like, you know what I mean? Like, like the monoculture aspect of all this is like gone. Like it's like there's like like no one's watching anything they don't want to watch or like you know whereas back in the day it was like I don't care that much about this but I'm I want to talk about this the next day and everyone else is going to know about it. I don't know. Yeah. I'm trying to figure what the proper trade would be because even just like sitcoms and shows and dramas like everyone watched the Friends finale and Seinfeld that stuff like that's like that would be fun too like these shows that yes are popular and people are into. but still it's a very muddy water of like oh yeah i like this i'm watching this these people like
Starting point is 01:08:09 this it's like we're all watching 20s for shows and not talking about it that much it felt like severance got pretty close um to like a lot of people watched that pretty much a good point and that was like pretty rare though yeah it and maybe it's not maybe it was just because i watched it but it felt like that um that's good um yeah i don't know i i really am saying that like the Super Bowl commercials get leaked early. That that's one that I'm like, don't do that. There should be like a rule. I don't know how.
Starting point is 01:08:42 Yeah. Like only the Super Bowl commercial committee can vet it beforehand and make sure it's not completely inappropriate. And if so, then it's good. All right, two more. I agree. No online gaming, Jake. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:08:57 But system link parties are alive and well. Please. Easy trade, right? please yeah yeah just there's nothing like them there's nothing like just screaming across like a room just or you know right next to you like just i you know trash talking each other right there and what do you what do you think you're eating and drinking during that i think i've got like a mountain dube i don't know what i'm eating oh it depends dude it's it's it's whatever one's bringing and all of a sudden you're like i didn't think the double stuff doeros were going to be such a hit but those are
Starting point is 01:09:32 gone. I guess we'll do Cheetos puffs. Or those like those Cheeto ball, the balls, like the cheese puffs. Yeah. Those little balls. Yeah, you're eating nothing natural, nothing that isn't going to be the same thing in three days, you know. It's all going to be there. That sounds fun.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Pizzas, pizza rolls. Yeah, if parents are there, you know, like if it's a youth group thing, it's different than if your mom's like, hey, like, I'll make something kind of healthy for you. Do you want mozzarella sticks? And it's like, yeah, it's got cheese and bread. It's on the bottom of the food pyramid. We're good. Permission to give a very honest testimonial and sales pitch. Brad, if you're with me, stay silent. Thank you. As of three days ago or however long it's been, we finally moved into our house and got to sleep on our original mattress that we're used to, and namely cozy or sheets, that all of our cozier of sheets, we have like three sets of them.
Starting point is 01:10:34 They've all been in storage in, you know, the moving truck and, well, not moving truck, the six individual moving crates this whole time. And I'm actually sleeping better. I don't know if I was like sleeping bad necessarily, but just like the old sheets I was on were just like a bit scratchy, just like 10% scratchy. I like 0% scratchy. The sheets make a big difference. Obviously the mattress is important.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Obviously, a little bit of dog urine is important. and I don't know if we've got to that part in the episode yet, but it's all factors in, but truly, like just the pillowcase and the sheets, even the top sheet, it's just, it's so critical. It's so good. And you can take 20% off. GRKC is the promo code for Cozy Earth.
Starting point is 01:11:19 It's just such a great, like, investment. It's just so, you can, it's a guilt-free purchase. They have other stuff besides bed sheets, but that currently, that is what I'm most enjoying, So check it out. They got a bunch of like, I think a lot of their colors are like earth tone.
Starting point is 01:11:37 They have like normal, but like cool, trendy colors. I know trendy colors. They have trendy, they have cool, earthly nature, trinity colors. So check it out and,
Starting point is 01:11:46 you know, go to the website now, support us, support them. Brad, if you're with me, give me an applause. Actually,
Starting point is 01:11:52 get all your whole family to applaud together. All right, Brad's with me. Join me, guys. Go to Cozyert. Go to Cozyyark.
Starting point is 01:12:04 Go to Cozzerr. And then the last one is no AI, but you're friends with the smartest kid in class who gives you all the answers. I would say no deal on that one. I'm sorry. What would you give up for AI? What would you trade? It's funny how often in the past week I find myself using it and none of it's even for business. It's just like, I know. I'm in such a transition period. There's so many things that are new to me that I'm obsessed now. with like taking a picture of something and going like what we got going on here what am I looking
Starting point is 01:12:41 at here for instance this house for everything has going for it and one of the negatives is at some point they renovated it and some electricity came in none of the light switches really work everything is now on a remote it's like remote controls that fan and that light you walk in a room these lights don't do anything you have to find the remote on the dresser to turn the light on for the light we've been here like four days and it's driving me crazy almost every room is off of a remote and one of them really doesn't work it's so confusing and so i'm like using ai to like help me know how to turn on my living room light yeah that's that's like that's like that's like like new age problems yeah like hey no remote it's funny or remotes for everything you know
Starting point is 01:13:36 I really don't understand why they did it because there's one room where they've got a command strip with Velcro right next to the light switch. So it's like, hey, we made this convenient for you. Right when you walk in the room, you can tap the remote to turn on the light. But it's like that's where the light switch was. Are they fan? So I don't. A lot of fans. Or like the fans connect to the lights.
Starting point is 01:14:00 Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Some of those new fans, they do that to you. And I don't know why. know if it's cheaper or what, but I had a few of those fans put in my Airbnbs, and it is annoying, but they should also be connected, whatever, you could connect them to a light switch as well. And the light switch is basically just on off. So it's just like a kill switch, basically. It's like, if you want it off, yes, you can hit the light, but if you want it on, you need to flip
Starting point is 01:14:27 the light switch on and then turn it on on the remote. It's like double. Okay. Yeah. So for as much as I love technology and I love, you know, I don't hate the idea of a smart fridge and, you know, all these appliances talk to each other, leave the light switches alone. Just let it be old fashion. This switch is the fan on off. You don't even need to control the speed. This switch is on off. Do not do anything other than that. I agree. We're trying to do for renting, though. Yeah. We're trying too hard at certain things of like, hey, this, anything that takes me more than seven seconds to pull up on my phone. And I could do in literally a millise. second, like, don't, don't mess with that. It's never working. I'm never thinking to myself,
Starting point is 01:15:08 like, oh, I really want to be able to see as I walk up the stairs, but I don't know if I'm going to be able to turn it off once I get up there. So I'll just have it on a switch so that when I get in my room, then I can turn it off. It's like, I don't think we need that. I don't think we need that. So. I just had the thought last night is I'm kind of like shutting down the house, Rachel's in bed. Let me turn off the lights or whatever. And I had to walk kind of around a corner to turn the light behind me and I thought if I ever build a house or get to design a custom home, there are going to be too many light switches. Why not? Why not have it be extremely convenient to turn lights on and off? Just have like a panel of like 18 on each wall. Like and just just take all control every.
Starting point is 01:15:51 Six of them are one light switch. So you just just just just bonk one and see what happens. Mm-hmm. I don't hate it. I think that sounds awesome. Okay. That's funny. That's that's okay. So that's, that's, Okay, so that's one of the negatives to the house. Yep. Good. That's good. Would you like to hear two other negatives to the house? I just got a notification, Papa's device is struggling.
Starting point is 01:16:13 Their device is having trouble keeping up with the recording. I wonder if it's too hot. So funny, you name yourself Papa. Papa's device. That is a little hot. That's all right. We'll be fine. If it turns off, it turns off.
Starting point is 01:16:29 If we flake, we flake. Honestly, something just happened. And now your voice sounds like way better than it didn't. I mean, I think it'll... Papa's recording will continue on a new track. Papa will be just fine. Okay. Don't you worry about Papa?
Starting point is 01:16:44 I was kind of clicking around a lot. I wonder if I was just making my computer too, to worked up. I don't know. It's like 90 degrees here and there's a window just, old school, like single pane window just shooting on me. So maybe it's just doing the same thing for this camera. Cameras just not built like I am, baby.
Starting point is 01:17:04 that's how it is down here too it's like i'm fine with this heat but the the computers and the cars and everything are struggling a little bit um so one kind of funny quirk to this house we noticed it almost right away our first day in here rachel wakes up and she goes did you shut the garage door last night i was like yeah she's like it was open this morning i'm like man i swear i shut it last night and since then like every day since then at different times, the garage door will just open on command.
Starting point is 01:17:40 In fact, one time it closed when we had it open. I shouldn't say on command. I should say at random. Randomly. Yeah. Okay. So that's kind of interesting. Luckily, I mean, we're in a great neighborhood,
Starting point is 01:17:51 so it's like, it's fine for the most part, but it is weird. Like, yesterday someone came to my door, foreshadowing. He was like, hey, I'm here to help with. By the way, your garage door is open. I go, is it again? Shoot. Okay. Well, so that's something else I'm using AI for like, what else do you have an app for that? Well, I can't connect the app. So it's a bit finicky.
Starting point is 01:18:16 But here's what's interesting. Give me your take on this. It's I talk to the landlord, the homeowner. I go, hey, will you reach out to the previous tenants and see if they notice the garage door randomly opening and closing? And they say, yeah, we talked to them. They said they never noticed that. And I go, what is that? That's either a crazy coincidence that right when we moved in, the garage door started malfunctioning or had a short in the fuse or something like that. That's a crazy coincidence that it happened right when we started. The other option is that we are doing something to cause this.
Starting point is 01:18:54 But what could you be doing? I mean, we're living a normal life. We're not like running a Rube Goldberg machine in the garage. that that might have hit the button at some i don't know if that's hitting the button or not there nothing is moving in the house what if it's like every time that you have a remote on for the light it like it's like triggering something 45 minutes in it like later what if it's not outside of the realm of possibility there's so many remotes there's so much of that like you know whatever there's microwave emissions going on you know yeah right all those things yeah i mean maybe
Starting point is 01:19:31 there's some like yeah the wireless printer is messing with it or something but like I have no idea so that's kind of funny yeah so it's yeah I would be like do you have some sort of app because sometimes like like I have my Google home app is like set up
Starting point is 01:19:49 for all those different properties to where it's like hey if somebody leaves I'm not going to keep it at 68 degrees for them you know or for the next five days if no one's there so I don't know That could be something like that, but still, that's like, that's wild. Yeah, it just makes me think like, why are, why are the old tenants lying about this?
Starting point is 01:20:08 There's no way this just started. Why don't they want us to know? So anyway, someone's going to come out and check out the garage door and get a connect to my phone. We'll figure it out. You're pranking you, bro. The last thing. Frank, bro. I did.
Starting point is 01:20:21 I remember being told that they were moving to a different, they were like buying a house somewhere in this neighborhood. And so I did have a thought, like, do they still have an old clicker? and they think it's working on their garage and it's about close enough to work on our garage it's another theory I'm working on okay I don't hate it I do love figuring out patterns of stuff like this like that pumps me up to like yeah the bottom of this so let us know
Starting point is 01:20:41 I kind of I don't accept this the fuse as shorthing I'm like no there's a logical explanation for this and I want to find it there's no way yeah there's no way yeah last thing I'll say about the house and it is great and we do love it don't we love it Brad we love the house hey are you blessed or you
Starting point is 01:21:00 stressed. I'm blessed. The house is a blessing. Good. Happy to be living here. Good. Homeowners let us know like, hey, happy moving day. Here's some things you know about the pool, you know, garage code, yada yada. Upstairs, I just had, you know, the whole house is deep cleaned and upstairs. I just had them reclean the carpets. The smell of the deep cleaning product has a bit of a stench to it. So we got the windows cracked and the fans are running. let me know if that smell sticks around after a few days. We'll get it taken care of. So, you know, as we start to move stuff in,
Starting point is 01:21:36 and we go, whoa, that does smell. Sheesh. Wow, yeah, I'm glad those windows are open. Chemicals? I thought I believed it to be chemicals. I go, I guess that's what chemicals smell like. Rachel immediately goes, that's cat pee. Oh.
Starting point is 01:21:50 I go, no, they said they just deep cleaned the carpets. This is the smell. This is the enzymes of the carpet. Rachel goes, I think that, I think that's pee. That's you looking at AI If you're like, no, it's the enzymes She doesn't know anything Sorry, my friend
Starting point is 01:22:08 A woman who just doesn't know what she's talking about I don't even have time to explain The carpet enzymes to you But trust me, that's what it smells like Trust me, I know enzymes and yeah You're smelling them You can't see them I promise you're smelling them
Starting point is 01:22:23 No, it's more than that Yeah, I really feel like this is Gapie and so probably only two days go by and we start thinking, yeah, it's not getting any better at all. And then I'm starting to come around to this cat pee idea. I go, you know what? We had an old van, a burgundy van back of the day that was called cat pee van because we left the door open a couple of nights
Starting point is 01:22:46 and these random cats would get in it and boy, they'd make themselves at home. And I'm like, that kind of smells like the pea van. And so I'm trying to think what the next step. was, but basically I had a, I asked the homeowner, I said, hey, can you have the carpet cleaner come back out? We need to figure this out. Yeah. So he was the one who came to the door yesterday, 8 a.m. He goes, hey, I'm with the carpet cleaner. Garage door is open. I go, I bet it is. And he's like, I said, were you the one who is cleaning it, you know, on Friday or whatever? And he goes, I was. I go, all right, well, these rooms still stink,
Starting point is 01:23:25 like crazy and my wife and I think it might be cat pee and he goes yeah it's a whole lot of dog pee oh really he goes yeah there were urine spots everywhere and like okay well that would explain it i go yeah it's like really stinks in these two rooms he goes what about the master and i go well we actually didn't notice that much in the master he goes wow they were probably triple the amount of urine spots in the master. It's like, oh, gosh. Don't say that. Don't say that.
Starting point is 01:23:57 Triple. Don't say that. I was like, well, you did great in the master because it smells pretty good. But he goes in the rooms. He's like, wow, you're right. That does smell terrible. He's like, all right. So basically what happened, he's like, there's no more urine spots of the carpet.
Starting point is 01:24:11 I think like I've done all I can with the carpet. This dog pee has now gone into the pads. Like, it's in the padding. Yeah. And I can't really do, you know, anything else. He's like, I could reclean the carpet right now. And I do want to say, I'm pretty sure he was the one who used the word enzyme. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:24:27 He enzymed. I think, but maybe not. His name was also Zane. So maybe I'm just getting it confused. I just remember there was a Z in there somewhere. I know, I know I saw some Zs on the paper. Did I sign enzyme or? I don't know what I'm remembering.
Starting point is 01:24:42 He's like, I could reclean it. But what it's going to do is it's going to make the carpet damp and it's going to make the padding damp. And it's really going to like re-agitate this and all. It's going to make it even worse. It's like, well, our parents are coming to, tomorrow. Don't agitate it again. Yeah. Let's just try and like mask the smell in the short term and then we'll figure it out. So basically called the homeowner and they are awesome by the way. I mean like that can really cover a multitude of sins. I feel like if you have a good landlord.
Starting point is 01:25:10 And so they were just they feel awful. They're like mortified. They're just like I can't believe it. They seem they're doing a good job like not gossiping, but they seem very frustrated at the old tenants and like maybe this was like a pattern. But maybe they forced them out kind of thing rather than maybe. Yeah. Because even the carpet cleaner guy goes, he's like, I asked him, he was cleaning when they were still here. I said, oh, you guys got a puppy? And they go, no, he's like eight.
Starting point is 01:25:36 So he was like, oh, that's just like terrible dog ownership then. He was letting your dog pee. Jeez. And living in it. Can you hear that Rosie screaming in the background? Yeah. Rosie is full of emotion. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:52 that's crazy. I just, I mean, I've always heard like if you're going to have a rental, it's worth it to pay a little bit more to have like LVP like you have downstairs looks like behind you. Yeah. Because obviously you can wipe that up so much easier than carpet. It's like every time you get a new renter, you might have to get new carpet. But so are they, do you think they're going to try to potentially replace it or? Yeah. I mean, right away, she was like, I am so sorry. This is, I'm embarrassed. We are going to get in ASAP and pull the car. Harvard's up, get new padding in there, get it all taken care of for you guys. So I was like, hey, thanks.
Starting point is 01:26:27 I appreciate it. Also, the pool's green. No, I don't know yesterday by the green pool. In the garage door keeps opening, but I promise we're low maintenance. Like I really, I think we're low maintenance, but like it doesn't seem like it right now. I'm not trying to be like too crass, but like there's a bunch of green pools in the master bedroom. Oh, man. So the only bummer is.
Starting point is 01:26:50 I thought maybe that's the explanation. for the the garage door is like the cats are pretty smart opening doors and there's something called the cat burglar out there so you never know
Starting point is 01:27:04 it's all making sense but yeah so they're going to come and fix it all but it's like well shoot we've moved it there's beds everywhere now we're going to take the beds out for the carpet cleaning but whatever it's really it's okay it's like as long as the problem's being solved we could put up with a little
Starting point is 01:27:19 you know inconvenience that's so but that's been a fun little venture there's always something you know yeah but you're blessed you're blessed I am and it's gonna be fun I'm already anticipating
Starting point is 01:27:31 making the my dad and Rachel's dad play some sort of game for who gets the downstairs bedroom and who gets the dog pee bedroom that's awesome or maybe the steves will sleep in one room and the moms will sleep in another room
Starting point is 01:27:46 I don't know how they're going to do it we don't know it's up to them yeah that's good yeah make the make the men be with the cats. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. That's too good.
Starting point is 01:27:58 I'm very curious to hear how this garage door saga shapes up. Yeah. Yeah, I'm determined to figure it out. Good. Cool. Let's in this bad boy. I'm excited for whatever surprise caller you've got for us next episode. Still doing the podcast, howdy just said.
Starting point is 01:28:20 You roll doing some roller blades Still doing on the podcast Yeah it's fun I'll just say she has never been on the podcast before But she is a celebrity Dang So celebrity of sorts All right
Starting point is 01:28:37 You have something you want to say Or you doubt it's timing You're just chilling You're just chilling all right Let's do a little review of the week Yes I've got one New ones yeah
Starting point is 01:28:47 I've got one via email Okay. If you don't mind. Hello. At ghostrunners. Is that our email name? I want to say. Yep.
Starting point is 01:28:57 Actually, I think this is just coming from our website. Oh. You can just like enter in a form and then it like goes to my email. Yeah. You get those different than I do. I know. All good. Good.
Starting point is 01:29:08 Hello, B-Rad, Jake and Tyman. I miss you long time, buddy. Come back soon. Please say yes. This is from Heather Carpenter. Unlike most of the ghosties, I honestly can't recall the exact episode. I started listening to you.
Starting point is 01:29:18 But it feels like I've known you forever. I often laugh out loud at the antics you guys put out each and every pod. In fact, I listened so much that when I connected my phone to the speaker to start up my metronome in my band class, I teach elementary music a band. My Spotify started a sewed on full volume, and my band kids got to hear Brad greeting them with, hello, ghosties.
Starting point is 01:29:38 They were so confused, and I laughed. That's awesome. Some favorite quotes of mine are, do you ever yell at God when there is a full moon in regards to Brad's neighbor who was annoyed at him having a light on with his buddies in the backyard? That was a good, that was a good line. Or a more obscure reference during a major oster's ad when Brad said,
Starting point is 01:29:55 the grizzly is the bullet of the forest. I don't remember that. Okay, fun game idea. Did we say it or are you making this punchline up? And anybody can do that of any old episodes because I don't remember ever saying that. That would be fun. somewhat context of that. Yeah, type up like 15 in an email and send it to us or something.
Starting point is 01:30:24 Yeah. And then maybe the answers are in white ink. And we've got to download it to find it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fun. A recent one from Jake when he said teamwork makes the task accomplished. And then the follow up never like dream work because oftentimes it's not a dream. And then finally the aside that went a bit under the radar that made me laugh pretty hard.
Starting point is 01:30:46 I'm guessing you said this was Pixar loyalist. Why you guys and I said that? I don't know. That's funny. Pixar loyalists. I don't even remember what that would be. Yeah, what the context of that is.
Starting point is 01:30:59 I mean, I think it's right if I said, like, I never liked dream work. Because oftentimes it's not a dream. Oh, that whole thing was all one being. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:31:08 I think like teamwork based a dream work. I don't like dream work. Yeah, Pixar. That does sound like something I would say. Because whenever you even said right there at dream work, I was like dreamworks. Track. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:18 Pixar loyalist. She continues. And we can't forget in another matriosis, that's what Brad wanted us to bean to our knees and sing the star-spangled jinger jingle with constant key changes on purpose, of course, with the lyric he sang, at the bean lights last grinding. And when Jake laughed and added the follow question, you guys don't have bean lights.
Starting point is 01:31:39 You may recall, I wrote a parody of Count on Me, with a ghosty twist a long while back and you played it on the podcast. It was a highlight of my week. I did write two more, Get On Your Feet, a Gloria Estefan remix that I sang. Not featured, but that's okay. And another one I hope Brad and Tyman would sing.
Starting point is 01:31:58 Oh, no. The version of Chris Rice's cartoon song that I titled The Ghosty Theme Song. All three are on Facebook if you search me. Anyway, I would absolutely love to come to a ghosty getaway someday, but I'm a mother of five and work full time. Wow. How is that even possible?
Starting point is 01:32:13 I don't get out much, unfortunately. Oh, Brad's gone. I'll keep reading the review. What in the world? I'll keep reading the review. He'll join back. I don't get out much, unfortunately, but know that I am cracking jokes
Starting point is 01:32:26 right along with you and add my fun asides when I can on Facebook. You guys brighten my day every Monday and Wednesday, and I'm thankful for your commitment to laugh, love Christ and love people through what you do. Blessings. Heather Carpenter from Spokane Valley, Washington. Love it when you guys mentioned my city.
Starting point is 01:32:44 Technically, you said, Spokane, but I'll claim it. Spokane Valley is a suburb. It's a really great, too. Got it. P.S., please don't let Brad be on the podcast when you read this. Okay, perfect. He's not here. So it's just you and I, Heather. But anyway, that is my review. Brad, what do you got? Oh, wait, Brad's not here. Brad can't come to the phone right now because his internet is dead. But this episode is basically over in. Anyway, so we'll wrap it up. We'll see you guys Wednesday. We got a special guest. We got Schmores coming. I'm very excited for the Schmores. Rachel and I'm I went off just creating our list.
Starting point is 01:33:18 We had so much fun doing it. So it'll be fun. Thank you for listening. And we'll see you guys on Wednesday.
