Go!
Go!
Hey, Ghosties, it's that late July feeling.
You know, that's how it goes, baby.
It's, I mean, what do you think of when you think of late July?
Ooh.
The grass has went from green kind of back to yellow.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, a little burnt grass.
Yeah.
I got harsh.
I got stern with my, and by stern, I mean, not at all.
with my lawnmower today.
I said,
Oh.
I said very, very kindly.
I don't remember the exact wording,
but I basically said,
I'm tired of all these grass clippings in my yard.
And so I said,
and so by getting stern,
I mean,
I said,
can you please double mow
and I will pay you more for it?
How stern is that?
I understand now that you were talking to a human.
I thought you meant you were a lawnmower,
the machine.
Yeah,
that's fair.
That's what most people do.
That's the route that a lot of people take is like, hey, I'm priming you.
I'm priming you.
We got to get stern here.
But me, no, I'm.
So, no, it was over text and I said, please double-mow it, or double, double cut it.
And I will pay you extra, please.
Because I'm tired of the grass clippings.
I don't even think I said tired.
I just said I don't want the grass clippings.
So that's, that feels fine.
I'll pay you double for it.
It seems great.
I don't think I said double. Hopefully I didn't say double. I pay you more. And I will pay you
$125 to do this. No, definitely not. Dude, I went full people pleaser mode the other day.
Because I've been down in Phoenix, I've known 40 days now, have not had a charger for my electric vehicle,
which, you know, can be a bit of an issue. I'm just constantly, it's like not plugging your phone in overnight.
You're chasing a charge all the day.
long. Didn't Rachel do that for a season? Did I make that up? Yes, her whole life. She has been in the season
of not doing that. Fair. With the with the with the with the with the phone. But like didn't she do it with the like her
electric vehicle? Like maybe she borrowed her mom's at one point. I feel like I just remember her like
like doing this thing where she's like it's fun. I'll just run back to back when she lived at Abby's
house. I feel like I can picture her charging her ID and like running home or something like that. Wow. Good
memory. Yes, when she lived over with Abby, there was no charger. She's not going to live there forever.
I didn't want to pay for charger. So she just charged at the dentist. And it was her way of like getting a
walk in or getting a mile in. Yeah, she would charge at the dentist office there for a period.
Yeah, good memory. Okay, so what's the people here aspect? Oh, yeah. So I've been trying to get somebody
to come out to the house for a while now. And I think he was supposed to come Thursday. And
they called me and said, hey, Roy, his name's Roy Campus. Great name. Great name. C-A-M-P-A-S.
Camp, Campas. Yeah. Campa-A-A-P-S. A little late-July campass.
Roy campus.
Okay. It was supposed to be there Thursday. Roy's not feeling well. Can we push to
tomorrow? No problem. Friday rolls around. Roy is still not feeling well. Can we push to Monday? Can we push to
Monday. Great. Monday from 8 to 9 a.m. 930 rolls around. No Roy, no camp ass. So I call and I was like,
hey, is he coming? And they said, oh, sorry, we got held up. Honestly, I think it was just for today.
We didn't set a time. And I was like, well, I have a text that says eight to nine. I don't know if
that means anything. Pretty intimidating eight to nine right here. Pretty easy to find.
And so he was like, well, what's what's the rest of your day?
look like. And I said, why don't, I said, I can make it work. Just give me a time and let's just
agree on a time. Whenever it is, let's just, let's both you and I agree on a time. We'll do it.
He's like, all right, let me put you on hold real quick. Comes back and he goes, all right,
how's 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. And I go, perfect. So the day. I just rolled over.
Yeah. Yes, that's exactly what I said. Thank you. Yeah. Okay. I just won't do anything the rest
today. I'll just be here. I'm just thinking like, yeah, that is great when the window
window is so large like that. Like there's this, the HVAC company we use is called
one hour heating and air conditioning and they say always on time or you don't pay a dime.
And then you like schedule an appointment with them. They're like, okay, we'll be there from
eight to noon. It's like, well, always on time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's too big of a dime. That's
too big of a time. I don't know. Yeah. I, I
And I get it. It's like, it's probably hard to commit to a time. It's like, they're always
talking about like, I think we got a truck out there late this afternoon. It's always something's
in the truck, you know, like I think the guy, the crew, I think the crew will be by in the
afternoon, but we don't know when the first job's done. So I bet it's hard to predict, but
there's got a better way. So, so, uh, big camp, did he come?
No. After all that, uh, back and forth at Roy campus, I got Tony.
Tony. And I really like Tony though. Tony was nice. He was new.
to the company, he said.
He just started working for them.
Always a good job.
That is handling massive amounts of electricity.
Yeah.
Second day.
First one was a doozy.
I won't get into it.
Let's just say there's a reason we're a little bit late today.
Yeah.
Let's just say, I used to have a full out of air.
And then the first day on the job was a bit much.
Let's just say this baldness is not hereditary.
Yeah.
But then they texted me today.
know who's texting me now and they goes, hey, can we follow up with Tony's work? Or something like that.
I go, oh, no, it's great. I'm satisfied. It's all good. And they said, we'd still like to come by.
And I said, well, I'm not home, but trust me, like, it's all good. And he was like, well, we just want to
check the exterior of the home. You don't need to be home. I was like, all right, fine.
Whatever. Yeah. Do you have my garage door code, too? Yeah. So they follow up on Tony's work,
but no, it's all good. And Tony and I end up bonding together. We have.
our first haboob does I've been here okay is that how you pronounce it I saw this in the
Facebook group the the the hubobs you got camp asses and hubboobs all right what are you

Guy Bo
Thank you
I
had to mediate quite the
scruffle earlier.
I don't use that word lightly.
You could just...
A preview of schmores later, maybe.
Uh-huh.
Yeah, quite the rigamarole.
Um, yeah.
I,
yeah,
Hattie and Rosie were just,
you could just tell.
Like,
they were,
they were arguing a little bit
back and forth,
but you could just tell
Basuvius is bubbling up
and it's about time.
And I could just feel it.
And I,
I got impatient.
I shouldn't have.
But I go,
had you just get along that i shouldn't have said that because that really triggered haddy of like
you don't understand it's not fair kind of thing she lost it she's like i have been getting along
and she's been calling me poop and she's been doing this she's been using my markers she said they're
their marker and i'm like shoot i should just let it let it simmer a little bit longer than maybe
i could have gotten out here before you know the lava got a little bit um it's so funny how old is rosy
again? She's four. And Hattie's an eight now? She's nine. Yeah. Jeez. You grow up so fast,
you know. That is funny. It's like something about just being family or all the time you spend
together. It's like there's no reason a four year old should be able to get on a nine year old's nerves
unless your brother's sister or two sisters or whatever. And then it doesn't matter. You can only
be called poop so many times. It's like, Hattie, you know better. Like you know that they're not her
markers. You know that. You know that's true. So just let it go. But I, but if you say that the
wrong time, it's over. It's, it's gone. You're done. So I feel like it'd be so hard not to just be
logical like that. And like, you're nine. She's four. Chill. Yeah. It's so hard. It, the,
the, the hardest thing for me as a dad is not just telling them it doesn't matter. Yeah.
That's what I want to say all the time. Like, this isn't, this isn't a big deal. Like, you know,
We, every single day, every single Sunday, all the kids get these like bags that they take home from church that have like their artwork and their, you know, craft that they do.
And we throw them away.
We call them recyclables.
Like, it's like, it's over.
But like, I accidentally fold up the bag on the way home or something.
And Rosie loses her mind about it.
And I'm like, I just want to be like, it doesn't.
You don't care about this.
You're not going to care about this in seven minutes.
Yeah.
We will go to bed tonight with this in the trash.
100%. I'm going to burn it tonight, actually.
So I hope you were your sins down on there because I'm going to burn it.
Oh, anyway. Hey, happy Monday, ghosties.
I had a first just now, just not 17 minutes ago.
Okay.
We'll call it 27 minutes ago. I'll be accurate for the ghost.
Where are you?
I was right here. I was sitting in this chair.
I was on the phone with a deaf point.
person.
You ever?
Yeah.
You ever done?
You ever deft?
No.
The closest I've gotten is watching
debt left shrimp on Parks and Rec.
Deaf left shrimp.
You ever deported?
No, yeah.
Yeah, dude.
I'm trying to buy this guy's house
in Spring Hill, Kansas, which is south of
town a little bit.
I'll take it.
Yeah.
and I was like, hey, I would love to.
You know, we were back and forth.
And he's like, hey, I think we should talk on the phone.
I was like, okay, great.
He's like, FYI, I'm hard of hearing.
And so my interpreter will be on the call.
It was wild.
It was interesting experience.
So he took a picture at the end of the call and he was like,
I'm going to, you know, I'm going to show you what this looks like.
And it was, it looked like he was face timing with this guy or skyping or whatever,
you know, skyping, whatever, you know, don't make fun of me.
Zooming with this guy.
Okay.
video conferencing and this guy was then translating everything he was saying to me I guess and
back and forth. But it was really interesting. It was a conference call with him and his like college
son and his his wife. And so, you know, at times I feel like I was like doing this where I would
just like keep talking and talking and talking away for him to interject. And then I realized like,
oh, he's never going to interject. So I need to stop talking eventually. And like, because he's not able to
keep up with the interpreter on this thing. So like, yeah.
Yeah.
I probably had to be like, I know I'm talking a lot.
So just tell me what your thoughts are.
And I would wait for 10 seconds.
Yeah.
So, Brad,
thank you so much.
Yeah,
that's good.
I totally understand what you're saying about this.
And anyway,
it was very interesting.
Because you and I right now are probably on like a half second delay.
And then level two is like the news delay,
which is like a three second delay.
And you feel like you were in five,
five to seven second territory.
I was deaf news.
Yeah,
it was something else.
So,
um,
yeah,
news tier.
Because I think obviously, like, I'm sure that those interpreters are amazing.
I also said stuff and I was like, it's kind of like when you text somebody that speaks Spanish more than English.
It's like, how do I say this so that when they do people translate?
It's going to like, I use the word amortization.
And I was like, good luck with that one, buddy.
You know, that one's tough.
You know, what else did I say?
And I was like, ah, this guy's probably a real estate ASL guy.
I'm looking to do the burr method or B.R. R.
are yeah if that helps it was honestly kind of nice I tried to slow it down a little bit
I tried to be like it is if anything was a little bit more relaxing of like okay let's just
do this at this guy's speed so we'll see he was really nice about it cori yeah his tone was
really nice according to the interpreter I don't know you see everyone no it was a speakerphone
okay yeah so do you think his interpreter was doing sign language back to him to see yes yeah I think
So, yeah, it's interesting.
I feel like this day and age there's got to be something, like,
Zoom for deaf people.
Where can just live transcribe what you're saying?
I agree.
I mean, like, you're like,
whenever you do like Instagram stories and you see the caption below it.
Yeah.
Maybe it's not as accurate.
I don't know.
Or I don't know.
But.
Yeah, probably isn't.
And also how would he respond?
Oh, oh, oh, oh, because the interpreter is also the one talking to you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's not going.
I would like to see the deaf.
person let it rip for a few and just then I'll let you know if I can comprehend or not.
Honestly, I answered the phone and he's like, hey, Brad, this is Joe.
And I'm about to conference in my son.
And I was like, he speaks pretty good for a deaf person.
And then eventually I realized, oh, this is the interpreter talking for it.
Anyway, I tried to kind of break what's called the interpreter interpreter fifth wall a little bit.
Of course.
I tried to kind of be like, sorry, I know it's.
tough for the ASL.
You know,
I tried to say stuff like that,
hoping that the,
shut out.
You're like,
hey,
no problem.
But he was very professional.
Very,
kept it,
kept it very,
very good.
So,
I'm sure I told the story
when it happened,
but I think one show ever,
I remember in Austin,
Texas,
our first comedy show,
or first comedy tour,
they brought up a,
a female interpreter
to be like pretty much
just next to me on stage.
And they told me over and over again,
don't address her,
don't address her.
Just,
and I couldn't not address her.
I did.
of course I did.
You can't, yeah, you should have.
I think that's perfect.
I think that's so funny to be like, I'm sorry.
Everyone at some point, if there's an interpreter there, looks at the interpreter.
Like, yeah, he thinks like, that's amazing, you know?
And I did good.
From what I remember, I went five to ten minutes.
I was like, all right, I'm going to follow the rules.
And then it was when I, back when I was doing my joke about like, people who want to
live in their wrong generation, you're going to die of diarrhea or whatever.
And I saw the sign she did for that.
And it kind of caught my attention.
And I was like, sorry, I have to address.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
You've probably never had to do that.
And I just made you do it.
And then I just kept saying it.
That's pretty good.
Yeah.
Over and over again.
Yeah.
I kind of remember that.
I do like the idea.
Like,
there's,
there's different tiers to interpreters.
And some of them get so into it.
And it's awesome.
Like,
oh, yeah.
Like the Cardi B interpreters and yeah.
Travis Scott interpreters.
Like,
was that a thing?
I haven't seen those.
I remember seeing some Twitter thread
where it's basically,
like, I'm not going to explain it well, but basically like ASL is like doing the best you can with
what you have to work with. So it's like, yeah, I'm going to try my best to use my hands to communicate
words, but sometimes I need more than just words. I need to communicate feelings or emotions.
And so it's like, and I think that's commonly understood. So like during a rap video where Cardi B's
talking about, you know, shaking that thing, like it would be more helpful if you all
so demonstrated.
That thing.
Yeah.
Okay.
Interesting.
I like that.
Yeah.
I mean,
every once in a while at church,
they'll catch my eye and I'll just watch them just spell out
Ecclesiastes as fast as possible.
It's amazing.
That's not bad.
You got both season there?
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Dude,
being on the phone reminded me,
I didn't have this written down,
but I remember telling the ghosties this story in Michigan
because it had just happened.
We probably had this like conversation before,
but when you get on the phone with someone,
and you have to um say like the t as in this and see as in this yeah dude you would you would
never think i had done comedy for a living i i freeze i do not like being put in that position
i'm bad at it oh that that's so good dude because there's like the people that do it for a living
like the the other people the people on the other line they know the what they call it the
whatever the alphabet is the phonetical whatever like that the army alphabet like yeah i don't though
Like, as in Camel.
Like, I'm like, you know, exactly what I did.
I started.
So I, this was progressive insurance.
And so they're like, read me your policy number.
And it's a lot of letters.
And they all rhyme with T.
So I was like, geez.
And the first one was T.
And so I go T as in tarantula.
I started with tarantula.
I don't know.
Tyrannosaurus.
Yes.
It gets me down this animal path, which I know is not right.
But I'm also like,
let's go for it's get the job done it's not like when i say camel you're like oh that also could have been
zammel or tamil you know it's camel but eventually she corrective excited r as in raccoon and she goes
okay r is in rio i go okay she went yeah she all right let's let's quiz each other let's see if
together we can get the entire alphabet okay okay alpha beta i don't think so i think it's
bravo is it so yeah it's different than the greek alphabet right it would it would be the
Army alphabet.
And maybe it's not Alpha.
I think it's Alpha, though.
I feel like Alpha Bravo.
Charlie.
Charlie.
Delta.
Delta.
Echo.
Echo.
A lot of these kind of interestingly enough,
I know you didn't really watch loss,
but there's a lot of,
I noticed.
There's a Charlie,
there's an Echo,
other ones.
There's an alpha.
No, I'm just going.
Like character names?
Sorry, I missed what you said.
Oh, okay, I got you.
F, I'm already, is it Fido?
Is it, is it?
They might just not use that letter in the army.
I don't know.
Frank.
Frank feels okay.
Fahrenheit's too long.
I feel like pilots use this.
This is like pilot lingo too.
So I know S is squawking.
Yeah, that makes sense.
S is for.
F is in.
I feel decent about Fido.
I would put $5 on it, though.
Like I'm not super.
Really?
What else?
There's only.
It feels like it's so, so much dog.
We'll come back to F.
Then again, you put five bucks on it.
G.
No.
G, I don't know.
Let's think.
Gamma.
It's good enough for me.
I feel like gamma's gamma.
Echo, echo gamma, move out.
That sounds right.
ABC, D, EFG, H.
Hamlet.
Harriet.
H.
Heco.
Heco.
Hoo.
who,
H.
I don't think they use FG and H.
I think they just avoid them.
Yeah,
what do they call those?
The unspokens.
Yeah,
the unspokens.
Okay.
What could H be?
This is going to kind of bother me.
Because I think I've at least like read the alphabet like this one time.
And so it's not like I've never heard this word.
You know what I mean?
Yeah,
we've had to have heard all these.
H.
Harlot.
Heart.
Heart's not bad.
Hero?
Hero?
Hero sounds good.
Okay, we'll go hero.
Hero.
ABC, D, F, H, I.
Got eyes on hero?
I.
These are hard.
I.
Iota.
No.
Two, four.
Echo.
Indigo?
Indigo?
Yeah.
Is it a short eye or a long eye?
Iris.
Iris is.
good.
Itthaca.
You know what, Jake?
Think about this for a second.
I need to respond to one text
really quickly. Okay, I'm going to keep going.
Jay.
Juliet,
probably.
Junebug.
Okay.
It's Julia.
It's just kind of names though, right? If R is Romeo,
C is Charlie, I feel like somebody's have to be
like actual first names.
Jamba.
Oh, Java. No, it's Juliet.
I'm almost positive because that's a character and lost.
There's no way.
There's no way that's not.
Juliet.
Juliet.
Okay, great.
Okay.
J.K.
We can get this.
Kappa.
Kanga.
K.
They should use Kappa if they're not.
Kevin.
Kevin.
Kevin seems too informal.
K.
Alfa Gama, Kevin.
Kelvin?
Kelvin sounds good.
J.K. L.
Ligma?
L is Leo maybe.
Leo's good.
Leo's good.
Leo feels right.
Yeah, I think they're Italian.
Leo and Roger?
Romeo.
Oh, M, M, M, Elemento P.
M. Michael?
Mary?
Mary feels good.
Mango.
Mango is cool.
Delta, mango.
Go, go, go, go.

Okay, J's Juliet.
K. Kilo, fun.
Yeah.
Another lost reference.
L. Lima.
Another one that just, yeah.
I think too many cities here.
M is Mike.
Just Mike.
Mike, I guess.
That feels like more of a football call out.
Hey, what came first?
The football or the army.
In November, that's too long.
Dude, I don't feel bad not knowing a lot of these.
some the back half of the alphabet.
Yeah. Oh, Oscar. I think you said Oscar.
Okay. P is Papa.
That's fun.
Q is Quebec. You think they say, they think they say it right or they think they say
Quebec? Quebec. So it's clear.
Quebec. R. Romeo. S. Sierra.
heard of that word. Probably could have got that one.
T. Tango. U. Uniform. V. Victor.
W. Whiskey.
X, X-ray, Y, Yankee, Z, Z, Zulu.
Am I freezing up?
A little bit?
Dang.
Dude, I think it's my computer's too slow.
I looked up one thing on Army Alphabet, and it's just killing me.
All right, that's Army Alphabet codes.
I hope you learned something today, Ghosties.
What's going on with you?
So the last time we recorded,
was just a few days ago.
I was coming straight from church into that recording.
and I didn't say anything about it in last week's episodes because it was like,
one, it was like very fresh.
I'm like still kind of like processing everything.
And two,
I was like a little apprehensive to like,
I don't know.
I didn't want to keep coming on here and just like complaining about the Phoenix
churches.
I don't know why I was self-conscious about that.
But I was like,
I can't just keep doing this.
But dude,
I had more time to think about it.
It was bad.
It was like one of the worst I've ever heard.
One of the worst sermons I've ever heard.
sermon specifically.
It was, you know, a church that, of course, it looks great.
You know, you try to do some research and, you know, it looks great, non-denominational church,
whatever.
And let me tell you some aspect.
Well, actually, before I even tell you about the sermon, let me tell you some details after the fact.
This is kind of what made me want to talk about on the podcast is you go on their YouTube
channel.
Every Monday, they post the sermon that was just preached the day before.
very common. A lot of churches do it. And it looks like they've done it for years.
You know, the most recent post was, um, nine, you know, six days ago and 13 days ago and 20 days
ago, whatever, like clockwork. Yeah. This past week's sermon has still not been posted to their
YouTube account. And I'm just wondering, I'm like, okay, first of all, it's not just me.
Second of all, did enough people like complain or something? Are they like, I don't know,
but I find that very interesting.
Okay, so do we know, was this the main pastor or was this, you know,
connections pastor kind of guy?
It could have been connections, but no, honestly, I've scrolled through their like YouTube
channel and it seems like he preaches pretty often.
In fact, he wore the same shirt like four weeks ago.
Fun fact.
In fact, I thought I saw they posted it four weeks earlier.
Remember that I saw yesterday?
Okay, so interesting.
Okay. So was it so bad, like the content was bad or the delivery was bad?
The content.
Okay.
It was the content.
Let's hear about it.
So for one, it was, I was really excited because Kyle and Ashley said, hey, we'd like to go to church with you guys this week.
Yeah.
Awesome.
This is going to be great.
And anyway, so we go to this church.
And the first, I would say, well, worship was great.
Honestly, that was awesome.
The first, we'll call it.
like orange flag was, he said, we're starting a new series today.
It's going to be called the eighth wonder of the world.
A lot of people in the financial industry call compound interest, the eighth one there
of the world.
If you guys don't know, compound interest.
And the way he described interest, immediately I'm thinking, well, I wouldn't have done it
that way.
That was a little interesting way of describing.
It's like nothing wrong biblically about this, whatever.
Explain how you need to explain it.
But it was just funny.
During the debrief, we all go, was that a little.
little interesting the way he maybe doesn't really understand compound interest. And it's just like a
weird start. It was like, okay, the financial literacy is a little iffy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
Basically, he kept trying to explain like, all right, in year one, you put $1,000 in. And then in year two,
you have interest and you put another $1,000 in. And then year three, you have more interest.
You put another $1,000. I'm like, I feel like that's not the best way to describe it.
If you, it's easy for everyone to understand if you, oh, yeah, if I put $1,000 in every year,
of course it's going to grow. It's like there are much better ways to describe.
interest.
Also, why do you need to tell people so much about compound interest?
Maybe was it really important to like the rest of the sermon?
Like, did he keep on?
Not really.
Financial people say compound interest is the eighth one under the world.
And like, if I don't know what that means, great.
Let's just keep talking to the next thing.
I'd even consider that he just didn't even need to do that.
But you're right.
Like, hey, we've only got 35 minutes.
Should four of it be on compound interest?
I don't know.
Yeah.
So imagine a snowball.
It's going down the, it's going down.
the mountain. Every year, you had a new gigantic snowball.
Snow is like year by year. Yeah. Yeah, I guess.
Who's seen the day after tomorrow? Anybody? Anybody?
The first red flag was he starts telling a story about inviting your friend Tom to church.
And you don't think much of it. You invite your friend Tom and then Tom ends up going to church without you.
and then Tom becomes a Christian.
And when you get to heaven,
you are given more rewards
because you invited Tom.
Okay, okay.
I'm summarizing.
But immediately I was thinking, like,
I've never really heard evangelism,
a call to evangelism so tied to your own personal gain.
Like, yeah, there's some stuff in the Bible about, you know,
heavenly treasures and things like that.
But like, in all my,
years. I mean, growing up in church, Canacuck, SB, I've been, I've been around it. That was the first time
I'd ever been like, let's start inviting more people to church so that you guys can feel better and,
you know, God looks kindly on you when you get to heaven. You're looking at Kyle like, come on, man,
high five, you're Tom. But it kind of was easy for me to put myself in that exact shoe.
You know, I'm thinking like, well, I'm not inviting God to church so that I can
get things. I'm doing it for his eternity. I'm doing it because I love Jesus and because of how he's
changed my life. None of it is about heavenly treasures. I've never heard it explain that way.
So he starts with compound interest in Tom. And then, dude, this is when it was like kind of looking
around it. This is insane. He starts talking about, and real quick, I just want to pause and talk
about some of the programs we have here, which they already done announcement. So they already covered
that. It's so he talks about some mission trips they went on. And then he talks about this,
divorce ministry they have. And then he talks about the singles ministry they have. And then he rattles off
about 15 more programs that they have. We're a dude. I mean, we're looking down. It's been, I don't know,
15, 20 minutes, just all the like program options they have. He just like, he just, yeah, did a, did a mini
sermon, not even a sermon, mini whatever. Yeah, I was like, is this the eighth wonder of the world? What was
all that. We're starting a new series stuff. And there's just slide shows and all of them are kind of
tied to like, and it takes money to do these things. And the, and in the midst of it, he talked about
like the church is growing last year, or I think last month we had this many salvations. Do you know
how much the average church has? Way less than that, 1.5 or something like that. He starts directly
comparing their church to other churches. Okay, okay. I was like, never heard that before. That's not good.
Like, yeah, yeah, this is, this is, yeah, yeah, that's tough. A lot of churches, they do, they do one hour of
youth ministry per week. Hey, Wednesday, it's come out and that's it. Us, we don't, we think one hour
weeks are not enough. So every other church is doing one hour. We've dedicated now two hours.
It's like, do the two hours. If it don't put your churches down. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
it's like yeah have your feelings but don't say the reason we're doing it is yeah or maybe not the
reason but look at look at how much better we are that's yeah pride is what you call that uh yeah
yeah okay and then so there's a screen at the back that we're sitting close to it so you can see
how much time is left in the sermon and you can imagine about halfway through we start becoming pretty
friendly with that time we're like all right how much time we got i will say i kind of broke the silence
in the awkwardness with our group, me, Rachel, Nathan, and then Kyle and Ashley, about when he's
going, we also have a, you know, owners of Toyota Prius and Labrador's ministry. You know, it's like getting
so specific. And I just look over and I go, what is this? And then everyone just dies laughing.
And Kyle goes, I've already sent him a thousand dollars. But with three minutes left on the timer,
30, 40 minute long sermon, he opened the Bible for the first time. Always a good sign.
another red flag.
Yeah.
By the way, gosh, I almost forgot.
Shoot.
Better late than never.
We're going to read one verse real quick that's going to tie into this one thing.
It's going to be out of context.
And let's just go.
Bingo.
It was like he command effed, like the whole Bible and typed in rewards.
And then just chose three random verses.
It was like Matthew, Revelation and Revelation.
Yeah, just a safe way to do it.
I got it.
Bible gateway.com.
Okay.
Yeah, so it was like three verses that have nothing to do with each other
about storing up heavenly rewards.
And I was like, this is such a weird sermon.
And he did have a visual.
He had like a basketball hoop on one side that was like labeled heavenly rewards.
And then he had a paper shredder on the other side that was labeled zero sum,
like things that have no benefit.
basically. Okay. And then he rattled off things that seem fine to me. He was like, a lot of you guys,
you got kids in, uh, in sports. They're not going to be professional athletes. And then he like paper
shreds like a picture of your kids. Wait, we can only send our kids to sports if they're
going to be professionals. Also, the example you used with the illustration of a basketball hoop
over here is like, I didn't even think about that.
There's a hoop six feet away.
You couldn't say theater.
You couldn't say any other extracurricular.
That's not right there.
Oh, that's funny.
Yeah, so he just kind of rattle off some things like that,
like caring about your job.
Doesn't matter in heaven.
Which is like, you can point to, you know,
it's like we were made to work and there's a lot of beauty in work.
There's beauty at children's sports and the lessons you can learn from it.
It was crazy.
Interesting.
And so all that to say,
I had been scouring the YouTube channel
waiting for them to upload it.
They're cowards.
They still haven't done it yet.
It's Wednesday.
Yeah.
But I found the live stream on Facebook.
Okay.
I transcribed it.
I put it into chat, GBT,
and I just said from a,
I said, I didn't ask it to do anything.
I said, don't tear it apart
or don't lift it up just like from a strictly biblical
gospel believing view.
What do you think of this sermon?
And it said a lot.
But mainly it basically said like,
I wouldn't technically call this prosperity gospel, but it's pretty bad.
It's like even what chat GBT said.
Sheesh, dude.
Okay.
Okay.
So you're, I'm not like I say 0 for two, but you're a half for two maybe.
That first place is so hard.
Yeah.
I don't envy that process.
That's a tough, tough thing.
So.
But yeah.
Yeah.
That's so hard.
And it's so hard to like gauge.
off of a website like this is this is what church is going to look like because of course it's a
highlight reel on the website for the most part you can watch a service or i guess or something but yeah and
i felt like i had done my due diligence looking at the website looking at like what they believe in and
you know i don't know it's one of those things like i'm probably going to see that pastor in heaven
i don't think you know his salvation's in question but man that sermon was not good and i would
tell it to his face he's going to be like ha ha have more points than you
you see him there.
Yeah.
In a kind of cool way, though, it was so bad that we all decided we weren't playing on getting lunch afterwards.
It was like, let's all get lunch afterwards and debrief that.
And then I feel like we kind of got to like, through our debrief, kind of like tell Kyle and Ashley like what is true and what is it true and what Christians actually believe in.
And so kind of a cool blessing in disguise.
Type 2 phone.
Yeah, maybe that's the, yeah, that's the silver lining of it all.
That's cool.
I love it, man.
Great.
What else?
Let me see what I have.
This is zero sum is what I'm trying to say.
This is pointless.
Okay.
What you and I were doing?
I would say so.
What was I thinking of exactly today?
Oh, maybe.
So the reason we're recording on a Wednesday instead of a Thursday like normal
because tomorrow I'm going to Jensen's Bachelor Party on Louisville, Kentucky.
Which if you know, is like a bourbon capital of the world.
And big deacon Brad, just going to be like, how's the bourbon?
You know, just watching it.
So that'll be fun.
I might go to Louisville Slugger at one point.
I don't know.
See something.
Yeah.
Do you think the people in Louisville say Louisville slugger?
I feel like Louisville Slugger is like a thing.
You're right.
I wonder what that's a good question for the locals.
Like obviously, hey, I know.
I know to say Louisville when I'm here.
Yeah, yeah.
But the slugger factory.
Come on.
It's Louisville Slugger, right?
Yeah.
Anyway, that'd be a good name for a horse.
I like that.
The slugger?
Louisville Slugger.
What about a bat company?
I like that too.
It could work.
I could also see Roy Campus being a good horse.
Dude, if you have a dog,
if you need to name it Roy Campus.
Come here, Roy Campus.
Roy Campus.
Roy Campus.
Roy Campus heel
I'll have Rachel added to the list
she has probably 15 names
down for future dogs and cats
that we're never going to get just
I think
there's some weird like German people
in her hometown that have amazing names
that she loves I think she wants to name a dog herliff
at some point
there's a character from Seinfeld
what is his name
she wants to name a dog after him
so yeah we'll add
Roy campus to the list
for whatever.
Lloyd Braun.
That's what he's called.
Lloyd Braun.
Oh, Lloyd Braun.
Yeah, for whatever reason,
having two names for a dog is funny to me.
Yeah.
Like, Hurliff is awesome.
Herliff is actually like a cool name.
I don't even know what that is.
But like, you should name your dog Hurliff.
Roy campus though,
like addressing it that way the whole time.
Like addressing it in the middle of the night when you like wake up and you hear it like whining.
Roy campus going back to sleep.
What, did you guys hear that?
Oh, I bet.
Roy Campus.
I wouldn't worry.
Roy campus found something.
What is it, Roy Campus?
Come on, Roy Campbell.
Here you go, Roy Campus.
Come here, Roy, Camas.
I'm pretty sure we felt that way about
some of these politicians' names when we first got to Phoenix, too.
It was like, should we name a dog, bus Obi-O-B-O-Me?
That's right.
Do we need a cat named Dr. Ralph Heap?
Because I love that name.
Dude, there's a, there's, I don't know the guy's first name,
but his last name is Scoog.
And he's right now.
and all his like signs are is just sk and then like 50 ohs and then a gene.
I kind of love it.
He's kind of owning it.
Just as scoog.
And I'm like, if I don't, if I have no idea what the other person's running for,
I might just vote for scoog just based on.
Scoog.
Do you think you're allowed to have like a.
stage name for politics.
I guess that probably has to be your like government name.
I don't know.
I bet not.
I bet you're wrong.
I mean,
you probably can't go too far out of the question,
but I bet you could be like,
like Bill Clinton is not his name.
I'm William Clinton,
you know?
That's a good point.
Like where's the,
you know,
how far can we get away from?
Yeah,
we never found Obama's birth certificate,
so who knows what his name is.
Yeah,
I bet Bucky Lassick is not his full name.
You know,
his real name is William John Lassick.
And they call him Bucky.
Like vote for Bucky.
You know, I don't know.
So I don't know.
Yeah, that's nice.
So even if you're born into a weird last name or something, it's not going to keep your politics.
You could finagle it.
No, you can't change it.
I don't know.
Last name feels, last name feels illegal.
You can't just, like, deceive somebody's last name.
You would have to just get it legally changed.
You have, yeah, you can, you can mess with the first name as much as you want, but last name is, like, sacred.
I don't know.
Should I read this really lengthy email?
that I haven't proof read yet from a ghosty?
Yes.
The title is intriguing.
I think it's going to be good.
Okay.
This is from Ryan.
Hey, Jake Brad and Timon.
Brian Murray, emailing from Dallas, Texas,
longtime ghosty, first time email.
And professional trombonist.
Never thought I'd hear my favorite podcast
mentioned anything about my job.
But after y'all mentioned the trombone,
a handful of times a few weeks back,
not about reaching out.
However, upon hearing about Brad and Bose
hiking escapades in Colorado,
I knew I needed to write in about some poopscapades of my own.
Okay.
I'll keep this PG.
This is the family show, he says.
My wife and I are casual runners.
We usually train for and run around one half marathon per year.
He puts in parentheses, it's not as impressive as it sounds.
Just trying to stay in shape.
Okay.
One Saturday morning, we are on a particularly long training run,
and I start feeling the cinnamon swirls coming on.
Text max the night before.
Hello.
So we find a restroom at the park we're running at,
and thankfully, I sit down and start doing my business.
business. Sorry, I'm sorry, I'm starting to read the next sentence. The train has left the station,
and I look to my left and realize there is no toilet paper. Panic sets in as I frantically
decide my next steps. He had the salsa, but no chips. Yeah. Oh, yeah. No tortillas.
Fried beans. Okay, go ahead. Long story short, I have one less workout shirt in my war.
wardrobe.
Finish that training with the tarps off.
And now I always pack toilet paper in a Ziploc bag whenever we run.
Wow.
To make matters worse, a few years later, we are training for another race.
The one day I don't pack my emergency TP.
It's race day in Oklahoma City.
And the same thing happens to me in a porta potty 10 minutes before the race starts.
No toilet paper.
And now I'm down a pair of compression shorts for my wardrobe.
yes I ran the whole race commando
oh chaf city dude
oh that's that's so chafin
oh my gosh
I have crappy luck with these things I guess
but don't worry I only have a little bit of
who TSD while running
who doesn't
I like that Brad from one man to another
if you're going to start packing emergency toilet
to the future never forget it
even if there's a shred of a chance you'll need it pack it
um
sorry for taking the long email
Thanks for reading it.
Love the Pod Boys.
The way you share your faith.
Work hard and love your wife's family.
It's probably me to be a better man, husband, and friend.
Thanks for all you do.
Keep up good work.
And God bless Ryan.
Zero some, Ryan.
It's a zero some game.
Yeah, what are you running for?
Yeah, that's dumb.
Do something else to keep in shape, man.
Play basketball or something.
Invite your friends to church so that you can experience better things.
Compound interest.
Whoa, guys.
That was crazy.
I was nuts.
You know what's not crazy?
What?
Is how simple.
Good ranchers makes it to get all the meat you're already buying from the grocery store
delivered right to your home, right to your table.
It's got to feel like they delivered it right to your mouth.
It's so easy.
It's going to show up.
They got the packaging all down then.
If you're worried about like, well, how are they going to pack frozen meat?
They got stuff.
I've never had a problem with it showing up still being frozen.
Even in Arizona.
They'll bring it to you frozen.
Even there's them.
And they got a large variety.
They're fun people to support because everything comes from America.
They're good people.
We've met the CEO.
We like him a lot.
And also it's organic if you're into that kind of stuff.
So no GMOs, no added hormones.
It's just the meat, just the good stuff delivered right to your door.
If you use the promo code GRKC, you're going to get a bunch of little perks.
for expiry shipping, money off, and a free protein add-on forever.
Forever, dude.
Interested?
Yeah, bud.
I am interested.
My recommendation is the Rancher's special box.
Rancher's classic, I'm sorry.
You get two, 14-ounce bone-in New York strips,
five, four-ounce flat iron steaks, two, one-pound Angus ground beef packs,
get a little tacos going or something, and 16, four-and-half-ounce, plain, boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
for your alpha gals.
So check them out.
It's got to rangers.com, GRKC.
American meat delivered.
What was I going to say about that?
Oh,
I saw Caleb Sullivan texted us and was like,
apparently a ghosties on second
has like their own group chat or something back in the day.
Anybody that's like been a member or a guest on their podcast back in the day.
And Laura Wilhite's like,
why didn't Brad just like rip off a sleeve and use that?
Like,
not a terrible idea,
but I was,
yeah,
I didn't think about that.
And I think Bo would have been very upset if I tore off something of his.
I'm not tearing off my rowback.
It's too cool.
Yeah.
I want to say Borah said to use the shirt and Jesse was the one who said,
just use the sleeves.
That way you get a BA shirt and you get toilet paper.
That's right.
Just use the sleeves.
I thought, okay.
So, yeah, Jesse Platner is who you said, Jesse there.
He, I think I called him like the Christian Theo Vaughn.
I don't know.
He just has a great story for everything.
I'm going to miss him on the getaway this year.
But shout out, Jesse.
He had a kid recently.
I think his name is David.
No, I don't know.
His name.
But what was I going to say?
Shoot.
Oh, I saw that he posted about Steve,
Steve and Steve's moped trip.
Oh, yes.
Yeah, we should talk about that.
And he's like, what did he call it?
Like, they needed a supply truck.
Chase truck.
I'm looking at it now.
Would probably want to have a chase truck for fuel, tools, and tires.
He would be the perfect chase truck guy.
He's like, like, I don't know if I've met somebody that would be the perfect blank guy as much as Jesse Plattner.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, Jesse Pletner would be the perfect blank guy for a lot of things.
I mean, absolutely.
If there was like a snake in my house, I want Jesse on it.
Yeah.
If, uh, if we needed our whole town.
snow plowed and there's only one snow plow and he's going to take 48 hours to do and he has to do it
straight i would want jesse to do it i think jesse would kill that i think he could also do some like
domestic things i think he could have a heck of a backyard garden i think he probably knows how to make
some sun tea on his own yes easily that that stuff is like like jesse just heard that and he thought
well everyone knows how to do that that seemed of course i think he probably knows a weird instrument
that's not super popular.
If I had less than $200
and I needed to put together a car
to drive seven hours,
I would hire Jesse to put together back.
He would go to a scrapyard
and just be able to find something.
Oh, yeah.
I think Jesse could evangelize
just as well as anybody.
I think, like Jesse is just the guy, man.
You just need Jesse.
You need to fill in the blank guy.
Jesse is the fill in the blank guy.
More than anybody.
I would love for Jesse to follow them
around. Maybe that's a shmores sometime, dude, is like fill in the blank guys. So I think
Isaac's a fill in the blank guy. Oh, yeah. I think Steve Coop's a little bit of a fill in the
blank guy. Yeah, Tom Coop. Is he? Yeah. Tom Coop, you're right. He can he can golf as well as he
can put together a lawnmower. This episode is brought to you by FIFA World Cup, launch edition

who else probably like Ron Swanson
yeah oh yeah
Ron Swanson for sure
oh yeah I mean
fictional characters Jack Bauer
great fill in the blank guy
dude speaking to Ron Swanson
you ever listened to Amy Poller's podcast
no I've seen clips a few times
with like Steve Correll
and maybe that's it but no
you like it
Rachel listens to it every week
I will listen around then I just listened
yesterday to it she had Will Farrell on
it's a great listen.
I'd recommend it to anybody.
I mean, especially like millennials who like
grew up laughing at Will Ferrell,
you know,
like,
he's just so funny.
He's great.
Yeah.
Sometimes,
sometimes it's refreshing.
Did he,
was he himself in the podcast?
Yeah,
he didn't come as a character,
but they talked about that a little bit.
Yeah.
Because sometimes it's kind of refreshing when it's like,
oh,
you're just real over here.
Like,
because he is so good at being in character and just like,
doing something goofy,
but it's like,
okay.
Oh,
love to hear your thought process behind doing all that all the time.
Yeah, it just seems like he's a guy who, he just, his whole life has loved making people
laugh and kind of got lucky and was able to make a career out of it.
But he talked about in college, he would like, he'd mess with his friends.
He would like dress up as a janitor.
He'd throw a cigarette in his mouth and walk into his buddy's classroom with a bucket
and just come in and be like, y'all got puking here.
And like be adamant that he's in there to clean up puke.
And someone, they'd be like, no, no one.
No one threw up because this isn't classroom 28B.
No, it is.
Okay, well, somebody's got a puke in there.
And then he just seems so mad.
And he's like, I would just go into these extravagant bits for two people to laugh at.
Wait, and people wouldn't realize he was doing a bit?
No, they just thought he was the janitor, some guy coming into a cleanup puke.
You know, it was like most people didn't know who he was.
I think he went to USC.
So, you know, he's just like, I just knew he had friends in the classroom.
College.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's amazing, dude.
Yeah.
Yeah, okay.
I'll check it out.
Yeah, it's pretty good.
Eight hours tomorrow.
So plenty of excuses to,
I'm talking to Ortencia tomorrow on the phone.
That's going to be a great time.
Oh, that's good.
But I don't think it's going to take eight hours.
If it does, we have problems.
But anyway, back on the mobile thing.
I've talked to my dad since then.
He's, he called me Monday morning.
He goes, I'm listening to you guys talk about this right now
with the podcast.
I'm getting pretty fired up about it.
And so I think he's like, he's called Steve Coop.
He's like chat, GPT, like a route.
He thinks it could take seven.
days.
He claims, he says up like, I mean, if the ghosties raise enough money where
Kup and I take a week off work, I mean, I think we're in.
He's like, I'm getting pretty excited about it.
So this could actually happen.
I told Catherine about it.
And her biggest concern was them getting sunburned.
Oh.
Have they addressed that yet?
I don't know if they've talked sunburn yet.
I just get some nice leather chaps.
Chap it up.
Yeah.
Did you see that scoot?
that Danny Parker's found on the Facebook group.
Awesome.
Awesome.
Did you look into it?
It's somewhat local.
Maybe I should get it.
I don't know.
It's a tricycle.
Say, hey, I'll do it for 400.
See how they do.
I mean, that'd be...
Oh, wait.
Typo.
I mean, 300.
Whoops, brain fart.
Yeah, dude.
It looks...
I didn't realize it was a tricycle.
I just thought it was like two rows, right?
Yeah, I mean, like, two, like...
spacious cushion seats.
That part looked awesome.
Yeah.
You got to do it.
So, yeah, might do that.
But, yeah, the steves are in.
They're excited.
You ever do a tandem bike?
Yeah, here and there.
It's a little trickier and you think it is.
But it's fun.
Yeah, not very fun.
I mean, no, I don't.
I think it's, it's more laborious than fun.
Like, it's, I thought like, oh, this will be cool.
And it's like, oh, my gosh, I am really struggling here.
And you're not turning enough.
Turn, turn.
Yeah, you have no control in the back.
It's like fun to be seen on a tandem bike,
but it's not better.
It's not better than just riding your own bike.
Exactly.
It's not, yeah.
The tandem bike is not as good as two bikes.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway.
For that.
Okay.
Sunburn.
Oh, what do you got?
Oh, I was going to say, I just have a random thing here.
great I said I think it's funny when people put disclaimers on their emails when they're writing them on their phone
you know I'm talking about where it's like sorry if there's typos this is coming from my iPhone
like have you seen that signature yeah I'm always like just proofread it just like you would on your
computer I don't know if that's like it's such an excuse like sorry if there's typos that fingered on
my iPhone it's like I don't know
I kind of, that's what's good a point.
Either be okay with typos, which I don't, I don't, I'm not ultimately bothered by that.
Or on the opposite, like, just, just look for a second before you hit sin.
It's not like you can't read it on a phone.
That feels like an outbound cautionary warning that should have not left the Blackberry era.
Like, you're not fat fingering things.
Like, you can type without typos nowadays.
Maybe if it said, like, hey, sorry.
I was texting while driving with a coffee in my hand.
There might be typos.
That's great.
Hey, sending this was Siri and she doesn't know how to spell your name very well
because it's J-A-K-O-B.
That's weird.
You know, sorry if it's a typo.
Like, but I think back in the day, at least,
it used to just say sit for my iPhone.
And maybe it still does for some people.
I'm great with that.
Sit for my iPhone?
Great.
And then you see it and they're like,
okay, I guess maybe that.
But to be like, hey,
I'm off the hook.
It's kind of like those people that,
like the people that say like,
stay back 1,000 feet, like the trucks.
Oh, yeah.
And it's like not responsible for broken windshield.
It's like, yeah, you are.
Dude.
You can't just,
you can't just not be liable anymore
like for this massive rock
that falls on my car.
I've thought about that.
Stay back 1,000 feet, 500 feet,
whatever it is.
I'm at a stoplight.
I'm going to look like a psycho.
If I'm back 500 feet from a world.
I think you're honking at you.
Dude.
The sign.
Yeah.
Oversight low.
Hello.
Anyway, I just, when people are like, yeah, ignore the typos.
Just don't say that.
I don't know.
That's a good take.
I saw something just a couple days ago.
I think I've talked about this before when I get on the Friday Pickable Instagram,
because we don't follow anyone, my feed on there is who knows what,
which is kind of fun.
It's kind of fun to have an account where you don't follow anyone.
But one that just like it was a carousal post.
It was like how I as a CEO get, oh.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Come on in.
What do you got here?
Topical Cafe.
Yeah.
Say hi to the ghosties.
I'm like his juice box boy.
He says go give me a juice box.
I go get him a juice box.
I say where from?
He tells me and I do it.
Tell him I like his haircut.
Hey, Brad really likes your haircut.
I'm Brad.
Arizona haircut.
Hi, buddy.
Did you see the picture of it when it happens?
You can just show.
No.
The whole world.
Where?
What group?
Chat would this have been in?
Yeah.
It would have been in there.
Tell the story of this barber while I try to figure.
Yeah.
So I,
first haircut in Arizona.
I look up different barbershops near me.
Go to Google.
I'm checking out reviews.
And there's this one barbershop that has,
five stars out of like 380 reviews.
And he's like, you know, this cooler black dude cutting hair.
He's listening to some hip hop music.
I'm like, surely he's cut a white guy's hair or head before.
White guy's head.
Halfway through the haircut, I'm like, why is he touching my face so much?
He just started going to town on my beard, pulled out like a straight blade.
Okay.
It had to have been dull, too, because it hurt.
how much he was like just going at my neck.
And he's like trimming up my eyebrows too.
For a second,
I thought I was going to walk out with no eyebrows.
Anyway,
he spent a lot of time doing that.
And I can just tell during the haircut,
it's not going to turn out good.
And mind you,
this was his actual barbershop
was kind of like under construction.
So he was in a building across the street
from his barbershop in like a tiny office room.
No mirror.
in there. So I can't see what's what's going on at all. And when I got in there, I told him like just
barely any off the top. You know, my hair was probably down to like my eyebrows. Um, the end of their
haircut. He's like, oh yeah. Oh, yeah. You go like this. And he turns turns the mirror to me. And
you guys can see it on the screen now. I haven't looked yet. Let's see. No way. No one.
No way.
No way.
That's how he styled it too.
He was like combing it down, like straight down.
And he's like nod in his head like, yeah.
Yeah, this is going to look good.
You're going to like this.
And I was just like, oh, yeah, man, you crushed that.
You crushed that, bro.
So at the end, I was like, how much I owe you?
He was like, well, 40 bucks for the haircut, 20 for the beard trim up that I didn't ask for.
So it was like 60 bucks.
I was like, all right, cool.
He's like, yeah, if you want a tip, go on, go, you know, click here.
So I threw on like a $15 tip.
He's like, oh, thanks, man.
And I was like, you know what?
Make it 20.
I don't know why I did that.
But he played good music and he was a good talk.
He's like, people never tip me, man.
That's crazy.
You people use that sweet.
That's awesome.
He had some interesting conversation throughout too.
At one point,
there was a song blasting and it had a lot of language in it, specifically the N-word.
And he's like, hey, man, I'm sorry about all the N-words in the song.
I'm like, oh, it's all good.
No problem.
He's like, you know, I don't know why white people can't say it.
Black people are saying it all the time.
This is a black guy, mind you.
He's like, black people just say it all the time, like too much.
But then they get mad of a white person says it.
He's like, come on, say it.
And I'm like sitting there trying to like think of something to say, I've got nothing.
So I'm just like nod in my head.
Anyway, yeah, it was quite the first haircut in Arizona.
Won't be going back.
I mean, so is that the same hair that you have?
Yeah.
He styled it like straight down.
And so if I just like put it up to the side.
What is Mr. I was.
Sorry.
What's up, Bo?
What does he look like here?
In this picture, what does he look like?
Does he look like?
I don't know.
What's that?
Jake sent me another picture of who is that?
Is that somebody from Dispigable Me?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
The villain.
I also, Jake, or Isaac, have you seen,
does your algorithm have the professor from An1 mixtape tour?
Dude, yes.
Who said that?
Was that you that said that to me?
It might have been Scott or someone said that,
that I looked like the professor.
Yeah.
You're just like straight down.
Like, like, all respect to Phoenix, you don't look, like, you look like somebody that I could see walking in Phoenix.
Like, yeah, you look ridiculous in this picture, but also, I get it.
Like, I see what that guy thought, like, he's going to like this.
Like, I could see a certain person, like, wearing this, like, looking like this.
Like, and like the professor looks like that.
So anyway, that's cute.
Yeah.
Yeah, Q, how was his name?
Yeah, I saw.
Some video of you and you had, I could tell like, oh, Isaac, Isaac went to a new haircut place.
But like your hair does not look bad right now.
It doesn't.
It's good.
But man, look.
I mean, that's just a testament.
Like, you know when you go swimming and you like come up and your head's just like, your hair's a completely different looking?
It's like, that's what that looks like.
Like that's swimming right now.
I can't believe he styled it that way too.
Like I walked in with it styled how I style it.
And then he was like, you know what?
Straight down.
Straight down.
So this picture looks like you were at home.
Did you go all the way home with it like this?
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
You didn't like get out and just like immediately.
I had to show the guys.
Unreal, dude.
Oh, the group chat was going berserk.
It was so good.
That haircut was also like a day before I got invited to a little pool party on the 4th of July.
Where I was like, this is probably going to be the first time where I'm potentially around some
cute girls.
Yeah.
And I get that haircut and I was like,
frick.
I guess I'm a hat guy now.
Did you?
You rock a hat?
I rocked a hat.
And I never wear hats.
You never,
never wear hats.
Oh,
that's amazing,
dude.
It's quite the time.
You know?
So Jake and I have been matching a lot lately.
And we're in the same shirt.
Again,
we match the whole time in Michigan,
not on purpose.
Yeah.
What's more embarrassing?
Matching on purpose or matching on accident?
Matching on purpose.
This is more embarrassing.
Yeah, that's just...
Not good.
All right.
Missy bread.
I'm going to go eat my food and...
Okay.
Get to work.
Oh, yeah, you're doing a little studio stuff.
Is that right?
Yeah, yeah.
Building out the Future Friday podcast studio.
It's kind of fun.
It's like working with my hands again, you know?
I went to Home Depot twice today, so...
Do you have any tools?
Yeah.
Okay.
Just enough, baby.
I brought some like battery powered stuff with me.
Let's talk in woodworking terms
because I know it's supposed to be a surprise to Jake.
So like tell me in woodworking terms.
What are you doing?
All right.
So a lot of walnut.
Okay.
And like nice walnut too,
but not the literal wood.
Okay.
Walnuts.
A little.
We're talking slats.
Uh,
we're talking pretty high quality stuff from Wayfair.
Okay.
And finished product.
imagine you know like john melecky you know who that is of course yeah so imagine him
building like a nice coffee table that's got some fun touches to it that aren't like woodworking
related but maybe some electrical stuff in there some really lights okay that's fun okay
Love it.
A little bit of color too.
Something to pop.
Scott wouldn't like the color.
So you kind of bland.
All right, bro.
Love you.
Good to see him.
Love you, dude.
John Maliki.
That's the sound of me
celebrating another 110 degree day.
Gosh, Jake, don't stand up.
Don't stand up.
You're probably not even wearing any underwear or anything.
What if I told you I'm wearing Cozy Earth joggers?
Then I would say stand up.
Yeah.
Go ahead and stand up.
Go ahead and stand up, boy.
Go ahead and stand up.
That's how, actually don't even know what that says.
I think it just shows how much I love these pants, I guess.
They're so good.
I think something that's underrated about cozyer stuff is that we don't talk about how
they temperature regulate well.
That's one thing that like, like in Colorado, we were in a room that was 68 degrees.
So says the thermostat.
I slept hot.
I couldn't find my, I need something on top of me when I'm sleeping.
Don't make that joke, Jake.
And I need, I need.
I need something and when it's when the sheets aren't good, you throw them off.
When the pants aren't good in a hundred 10 degree weather, you throw them off.
But are your pants off or are your pants on, Jake?
My pants appear to be snug on.
Those bad boys are real snug on.
So go to cozierth.com slash ghostrunners.
Get your stuff.
Regulating sheets.
Get your snug on and get something on top of you tonight when you go to sleep.
Use a promo code GRKC for 20% off.
Hey, Brad.
That was my friend.
Hey, buddy.
he's a good guy yeah brought me smooth i don't know what we're talking about but um
i was about to start saying something but i feel like it was not important do you think it's more
important it'll come up again uh i resealed my driveway we resealed it that's pretty that's a that's
something i wrote down in my notes because i was reaching what what does it mean to reseal thanks for asking
jake um i well we have asphalt in the in our driveway and it was it was it was kind of
of starting to look a little dry, a little, little crap, starting to crack.
And so this guy, you know how you see people online?
Maybe you don't.
And my algorithms, what the heck was that?
Do you hear that?
How did that?
Yeah.
I don't know what.
Hurley, love?
Yeah.
Roy campus.
Come on.
Show yourself.
Anyway, we had asphalt.
But it was one of those guys that just like literally like door to door salesman kind of
guys like hey we're doing we're doing the neighbor's house down the street can we do yours like normally
i'd do it for 1,200 but i'll do it for 9 like and i i i almost like didn't want to say yes because
i'm like i'm not saying yes because you're doing the sales pitch right but also i was like i've been
thinking about reselling like my asphalt on this driveway for a long time so i was like yeah do it man
and so they just came and honestly it it reminds me and maybe this is different for you i bet it
is different for you it smells the smell of the asphalt like fresh asphalt makes
me think of camp because so like like that hot asphalt that Roy camp asphalt you know what I mean
like like that like that just smell of just like really hot black asphalt um just reminds me a camp
which I guess you guys probably didn't have as much asphalt as we did right you guys had more like
pebbles pads a good amount of pea gravel pee gravel there are certain smells like that it's like
they have no business making me feel this good.
Like gasoline or like a new car.
Honestly,
cow manure.
I kind of like that smell.
Let's keep going on that one.
You hit a nerve with that one.
Okay.
After you blow out a candle.
No, no, let's go back to the cowmen.
We need to hear more.
Okay, gotcha. Gotcha.
Why? Why?
I guess it's probably tied to my childhood.
It's probably like something, you know.
I doubt I was born with the desire to smell calviner.
And I'm not talking about smelling it up close.
I'm talking about like one field over.
Okay, okay, okay.
You're redeeming it a little bit with that.
You're not like, you're not like in the past, you're like, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
Let me add them.
Yes.
Yeah, okay, okay.
You're like, you're just talking about like the smell of money in the, in the, in the farm.
That's what they say.
Smell that.
That's Angus.
Yeah.
Okay, that I know the smell of
I was like, I don't know if I know what this, if I can imagine it.
Yeah, I'm not some weird freak.
I don't like the smell of most dump.
Like pigs, pig, pig farm, pigs in general, pig crap,
that all smells disgusting.
It's one of the worst, hog farm is the worst smelling thing on planet Earth.
Yeah, you're not a weirdo, you just like to smell of horse or cow crap.
Exactly.
Okay.
Exactly.
So, so, yeah, pigs are just where the real psychos.
I draw a hard line at, yeah, hog,
farm. Okay. Yeah. I mean, going to my grandma's house every year, it was always like,
you got to go through Dodge City. You got to, you know, you got to smell those feed lots,
you know. Mm. So what other weird inanimate thing? I like to smell of a small engine, like the
smoke of like a, you know, weed or generator or something like that. Oh, yeah. Well, I don't know.
I was going to say, yeah, I think I thought of mowing your lawn, but that obviously smells good. I like
the smell. The condo in Colorado had a gas stove and that smell of like, you know,
getting the gas going. You know, like that first. Amidst a little something. I don't hate that.
I, uh, I grew, I've had a couple of grills under my belt on the blackstone and, um,
girls. We're learning with every time we're learning this past time I, uh, I learned. I learned. I wanted
to, you know, kind of reseason it like you're supposed to
with like, you know, some sort of, you know,
plant-based oil or whatever and way too much to the point where,
I mean, it is, I don't know what you call it, but it is kicking.
I can't reach, grab, tong, anything without my forearm.
Just like, you know, it's all like popping up
because I left so much liquid on the surface.
What kind of, do you use regular oil or did you use like?
Avocado oil to like season it.
It was liquid already.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm not the person to talk to about this,
but I've bought stuff before that was almost like grease or something.
But it was like more solidified and you put it on there and it melts on there.
Yeah, I should probably look at that.
I mean, the avocado oil sounds good too.
I don't know.
But yeah, I am such a wuss when it comes to like popping back up on me on the grill.
I'm always like, gosh.
Like when Catherine like fries chicken or something like that and she's like,
you turn it over. I'm like, I don't know how you, that, that, that would, I'd be so angry every day
if I had to do this. Like, that is so just like, those like tiny little, like, micro, it's not
enough to be like, I am really hurt, but it's like, this is so uncomfortable. And it's different than like,
I don't know, it's weird. If it was just like, all right, I'm at the bottom of a squat and it hurts,
but I can hold it for 10 seconds. It's fine. This is just like, it's just for a split second,
But boy, I can't take it for a split second.
I really don't like it.
Stop it.
Yeah.
Yeah, I singed my finger on a grill in Colorado.
Yeah, it was no fun.
So what else have you been making?
We haven't done any kind of breakfast yet.
Just chicken.
Okay.
Chicken, rice, veggies, broccoli, whatever.
What do you say?
I said, are you learning anything along the way?
Yeah, I mean, here and there, but it's pretty simple.
It's pretty fun.
I mean, I'm learning to trust the meat thermometer.
It says 165.
I say, get them out of there.
Good.
It's true.
Especially you do some thighs again.
Yeah.
I'm trying not to like, I think there's a tendency when you grill chicken.
I'm like, I want to make sure it's cooked.
So I'm going to like really crisp it up.
And I'm trying to like, hey, I'm brand new at this.
Why don't I try and tow the line perfectly?
No, I think that's right, though.
Well, thighs, I think, sometimes look less like they're done than breasts do.
Gotcha.
But if they say 165, you're good, baby.
And those ties are nice and, do you?
I'm trusting the thermometer.
And yeah, everything's come out great so far.
Love it, dude.
That's great.
That's great.
Catherine and I just last night, did a little date night to the movies.
Went and saw a movie that I would have never chosen, but classic.
Patriotic Catherine, wanted to go see Angel Studios Young Washington.
You heard of this?
No.
You heard Angel Studios?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just like every once in a while we were watching, I was like,
that looks like an Angel Studios movie.
Like, you know, like, that looks like a big soundstage.
Is that what they call it?
Like a big like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That looks cool, but you can tell it's a little bit.
Not quite right.
Yeah.
But it was really good.
I, like I left, first of all, it was a cool movie.
good movie and like I'm so bad at reading history and like personalizing or not even
personalizing but like putting myself in the setting you know what I mean like okay yeah like I read like
Washington cross the Delaware I'm like all right cool but like what next yeah okay that doesn't
really in one year out the other I've never been like one to like really get into history because
I've never been able to like yeah take myself there anyway so it was a cool movie to be like oh snap
this is kind of cool history.
Like, dang,
anything more.
Oh, snap.
Anyway,
but my main takeaway
besides just enjoying the movie
was I like going to the movies.
Like,
I wanted,
oh,
yeah.
I told Catherine afterwards,
I was like,
we should just do like,
like we went to the B&B theaters,
the one we did,
uh,
Grande duet.
Oh yeah.
And every Tuesday night,
six dollars for a movie.
And I'm like,
we should just once a month on a Tuesday,
just go to a movie.
And she's like,
what if there's not a good movie?
I was like,
I don't care.
I didn't think this was going to be a good movie.
Let's just go.
It's just fun.
And like a cheap date and a fun date.
And so yeah, I don't know.
I mean a Coke zero,
an unlimited Coke zero and some popcorn's hard to beat.
I might have made this up.
Now it's started.
Have you been to B&B 30s and Shawnee very often?
Yeah, a time or two.
Maybe you've told the story on the podcast now that I'm about to say it out loud.
But like we go and we order popcorn half off as well on Tuesdays.
What a steal.
And the guy gives it to us and he goes,
enjoy the magic of the movies and gives us the popcorn.
Is that sound familiar to you?
That almost sounds familiar like you told me this before.
I don't remember it.
Enjoy the magic of the,
you could tell like he didn't want to say it,
but it's like you are,
you have to say my pleasure at Chick-fil-A.
And when you go to the B&B theaters and Shawnee,
you have to say,
enjoy the magic of the movies.
But you know what?
It was kind of a,
the movies do have a little magic to them.
I'm kind of bought in, all right?
Like somebody who has like kind of been
I don't remember I don't go to very many movies anymore
It's like there is a little magic going to the movies
You know time it's gonna like that take and I like it too
Time's gonna go yeah yeah yeah that's that's that's good
Yeah
Enjoy the magic of the movies home
Yeah like it was one of those times where I was like
Chicken chicken which one are you picking
My play
Hey hey hey hey hey
feeling like checking today.
Let's do the thing.
Kaniac or box.
Enjoy the magic movie.
Well, yeah, keep us posted.
That's fun.
I like the commitment to like, hey, no matter what, we're seeing something.
Because she asked if I wanted to go see Young Washington.
She's like, I was thinking about taking Hattie, but Brady, PG-13, do you think it's too much?
And I was like, yeah.
And then in the movie, these guys, these Comanchees were scalping people.
And I was like, remember when you thought you were going to take Hattie to this?
Like, we're worried about Sarkey.
chasm and toy story, but we're like, yeah, no problem.
Yeah, no problem. In the war.
Well, they weren't being sarcastic when they scalped him.
It was very straightforward.
They were not, brother.
They were being primal.
But she's like, well, I mean, would you want to go?
And I was like, sure.
Like, why not?
You know?
Yeah.
But in my head, I was like, I don't think I'm going to enjoy this.
In my head, as we were driving there, I was like, I might, I might
intentionally try to fall asleep.
And it sounds kind of nice to like get a little after.
You bring a blanket?
It might be cold in there.
I 100% brought a hook.
hoodie just like yeah yeah um but i really it was fun it was a good movie and um there were some other
good looking ones you know we always do the up and down after every preview i love that um
and there were some there was one that i thought was awesome looking and she's like terrible um it's the guy
what's that guy yeah exactly um i think he's from jack reacher or just called reacher maybe oh i
never talk about blonde dude huge guy yeah super jacked and then it was him and
And Owen Wilson in this movie where they have to deliver this organ,
like this heart to a little girl or else she dies, basically.
And of course it's like, but it's like, hey, on the black market,
those things will go for a million dollars.
So all these people are trying to take it from them.
And so they're like shooting them up and like all these explosions and stuff.
And they're like, don't worry.
We're going to get you your heart.
It's going to be great.
And I'm like, that looks fun.
And Catherine's like, absolutely not.
I'm like, I will say the way you describe it.
The way you described it, does it sound like a movie that I think Catherine would like.
No, of course not.
But like, come on.
Like, you're not going to regret watching that movie.
The girl's going to get the heart.
It's going to be, there's going to be a lot of explosions and fun times.
Yeah, Catherine, come on.
It's Tuesday.
What else we're going to watch?
Seriously.
There's not how many options.
Of course, then she sees like the movie about the guy who made like Hershey, Mr. Hershey.
And she's like, that looks good.
We got it.
Okay, but what about the heart girl?
Is there going to be any magic in that one?
Movie magic.
Anyway, so I told her I want to go see breadwinner still.
Maybe we'll see that one soon.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's something to do.
Do you think Hattie, would Hattie like be okay with it?
Yeah.
Okay, that's kind of what I told Catherine.
She's like, I don't think you should take Hattie.
I'm like, come on.
Oh, it's very clean.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know what a nine-year-old lens, you know, filter is exactly, but I think
Hattie should be good.
I think Boza maybe.
Yeah.
Yeah, maybe ask some other parents who've taken their kids.
I don't know.
It's so funny, dude, do you ever, I'm sure you've didn't.
Maybe as a kid you did.
But like every once in a while now, I'll look at those websites that have like,
Oh, totally.
I forget what they're called, like, good watch or something, whatever.
Yeah.
There was like a Christian one back in the day.
And they are unbelievably critical.
Like, it's like, there's some violence.
Like, he falls down the stairs at one point.
It's like, okay.
I think they could handle that.
But it's like, that's their job, I guess, is to be super critical in that.
And so they take it very seriously.
Nick pick everything that happens.
Yeah, so I did.
I looked it up for the breadwinner.
And it was like, there's one point where something explodes.
And so it's like, you know, scary, violent explosions.
And I was like, I think they'll be fine, you know.

Dude, that'd be a funny sketch if like you're trying to be this great dad and look after your
homeschooled kids, you know, you're looking at what this movie has and everything that's in the
movie, it tells you not to bring your kids to. It's like things you're already doing.
it's like there's some there's some gluttony the dad eats a lot of sugar right yeah there's a lot of
explosives it's like yeah you see me like shooting tannerite with them or something yeah it's like
the dad there is some violence the dad falls off a ladder hanging christmas lights you're thinking gosh
i did that too gosh yeah i was out for three months after that just everything you've done
that's pretty good yeah there's not like actual cuss words but he says like crap a lot
dance around it.
I mean,
chucks.
That's good.
And sarcastic to
children. He's own children.
Yeah. Oh, get over it, Haddy,
big whoop.
No dinner tonight. I'm kidding.
Oh, man.
Good times. All right.
I got a review of the week. Come on.
What about you?
Hey, I'll say this, guys.
The reviews have been kind of cold on Apple
podcasts. They're drying up.
I'm not saying we need to reseal that review driveway,
but if it were a driveway, we should reseal it.
Okay.
Got it.
I haven't got to do this one yet, but they say honky donkey, boys.
I've been to go see since the end of 2024,
but fell off consistently listening since moving to Liverpool, UK for missions work.
Oh, I've been crazy since moving.
I've had many hard days of feeling homesick.
even though we've never met,
getting caught back up
is not only giving me plenty of belly laughs,
also a little touch point to home.
The recent edition of the bleep button
has had me rolling,
cleep, reping Christ,
and all do the same.
Cheerio, Govna.
Did it say cleep?
What did I say?
Cleep.
I said the cleat button.
He said,
he said, cleep doing, you know, something.
Keep repping Christ.
Not cleep.
I think you just blame it on the eye.
Oh, Jake.
Were you reading in the iPhone?
I always made so many
mistakes.
Sorry.
Oh, I don't, I don't,
do you see any other reviews?
I don't see any other reviews.
So I'm going to read a comment
from Emily Burke.
It's pretty funny.
I was going to say that,
sorry, you go.
Okay.
Emily Burke,
uh,
on the cross-country moped trip episode said,
that kid poop story story.
Brad,
that's so relatable and you handled it great.
I bet 40% of parents with young adults,
sorry,
with young kids could share a poop story
that happened to them today.
here's mine today I got to clean up liquid poop that was dripping that was dripping out of a swim diaper into my car oh my gosh
emily that is like katherine's biggest thing she's like swim diapers don't hold anything so like
don't change them into a swim diaper until you get to the pool and change them out of it and i'm always like
he'll be fine how so so if this ever happened to me she would be like i can't i told you what do you
uh all i had to work with was a pack of dried out wet wipes and a beach towel and lucky me once i've recovered
from poop apocalypse round one,
then I get to go clean out the code brown car seat.
It's been baking in the sun all day.
Oh, my gosh.
Ooh.
Kids, I hope you know how much your parents love you, all right?
Anyway, proud it up.
Yeah, so good.
Did you see the top comment?
I will say I've never noticed this,
but apparently some other ghosties have
because it's the top comment.
I've never once.
And you know what?
Go ahead, Jake.
And I have, yeah.
I'm with you, I assume.
I don't know.
The top comment from Cade Bennett says,
when Brad says long story short, get comfy.
It will not be short.
Listen.
I've never noticed that.
You know what?
I should start saying long story that I'm going to short and not give all the details to.
Because maybe it's not short,
but it's shorter than it could be.
I'll say that,
right?
There was plenty of details I didn't say, you know, whatever.
You're right, though.
I'm plenty
I'm willing to very much
What's the word?
Not exfoliate
Um
Washed we do two episodes a week every every week for seven years.
Yeah you're going to build some long winded tendencies.
I got it.
For sure.
Especially on the podcast.
Yeah.
Sometimes every once in a while I bet Catherine's like,
you,
you didn't like she'll talk to me for five minutes and I'll just be like.
It's crazy.
But on here I'm like.
I'll talk forever.
So anyway,
thank you guys for listening.
Thank you guys for coming to the Ghostrunners Getaway.
It's coming, baby.
We still got spots.
We still got spots.
Someone has to come if they're doing what right now.
Call them out.
Someone has to come if you're drinking something that's blue and frozen.
Because you are the kind of party animal we need on this tree.
Yep, yep.
We need a blue frozen guy.
Monday morning, blue frozen?
Come on.
It's actually like 2.45.
when they're listening to this.
They listen to half of it before work,
and then they got through.
Oh, got you.
They're like, I'm not working that hard
so I can probably listen
while I work at 245.
And you know what?
It's been a hard day.
Give me one of those blue raz smoothies as well.
And we'll see you on the beach.
Yeah.
We love you guys.
We'll see you on Wednesday for some schmores.
Should be a weird one, fun one.
We'll see.
But, yeah, we'll see you then.
All right.
Peace.
I'm smart, can't.
I know.
Everybody's morning on you.
