Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning ghosties today. Today, for some reason, the fact that you said today, like it just caught me off guard that you just extended a little bit longer than you needed to. It felt like, yeah, Vietnam had three syllables. And then I, so I pushed it and I went four instead. And I would do differently if I could. Go ahead. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:00:27 Ghosties. Hey. Okay, okay, okay, okay. A little better. what would you do? I really liked the first time. I might have done more syllables. Okay, let's hear it.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Good morning, ghosties today. How we doing? Good. How are we doing good? I'm trying to think of the clip. I don't know Seinfeld. You're a Seinfeld guy. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:54 But there's a clip in there about them double dipping. Okay. I can remember that? A little bit. I'm not. Like they give George a hard time for double dip. This other guy does. But the way he says it,
Starting point is 00:01:04 instead of saying like you don't dip and then you dip, I don't know, the way he says it is like a little bit unexpectedly shorter than you think it's supposed to be and it makes it funny. It's like you dip once and then you stop. I don't know like the way he said it. So, oh, good morning.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Howdy Ellis. Oh. Good morning. No it all. Uh, uh, oh, oh, I think this tight. It means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white meat too. Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat
Starting point is 00:01:39 so come along let's have some fun and go ahead get on your feet because it's a ghost from this podcast all right all in morning
Starting point is 00:01:48 we're taking around all right we're back Wednesday ask Haddy what we should talk about to start this episode Haddy what should we talk
Starting point is 00:02:02 about to start this episode what do you think always a good answer all right we want to talk about how these horse lessons with her right told you about this
Starting point is 00:02:12 she hobby horsing here's Hattie Ellis, nine years old. Hi. And you just bought your first horse? No. What happened? I had horse lessons. Horse back riding?
Starting point is 00:02:33 Yeah. Ooh. How was it? Good. Are you going to go back again? Probably. We're not sure yet. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Did you hear? Did he ask you? Wasn't it this morning that you wrote it without help? Was that today? Like she didn't use the rope? Yeah, I think it was today. Wow.
Starting point is 00:03:00 The lead rope? Yeah, the lead rope. I'm a horse head. Yeah. Free solo, the horse. Hattie, what was the horse's name? Caspian. Caspian.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Did you feed the horse? Do you feed them out of your hand or anything? No, we just worked on. riding him and then Miss Maddie taught me how to groom him. Groom him? Like petting him with a brush or something? Yeah, basically.
Starting point is 00:03:29 All right. Do you like hose him off or anything? Give him a little shampoo? No, just to brush. That's the next lesson probably. Where do you go in Kansas City to get a horse lesson? What do you say? He asked me, where do I go in Kansas City? Bonder Springs, Kansas. The little farm.
Starting point is 00:03:50 It's called Freedom Farms, which sounds very more patriotic than it really is. It's a sweet little farm, though, isn't it? Yeah. It's by Oli Pop. You know Oli Pop? You heard of them? I used to listen to the podcast now, so she knows things. Have you heard of Olly Pop?
Starting point is 00:04:08 No. Okay. Haddy, do they have other animals at the farm? Drink. Yeah. No, yeah. No, there's a guy named Oli Pop. It's fun, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:04:17 Mm-hmm. All right. What was your highlight of Colorado? Hattie was listening to the episode last week with Colorado. You had some good one-liners in there, Jake. She was laughing hard at them. Oh, thanks, Hattie. And what was something you wished we had talked about in Colorado that we didn't talk about?
Starting point is 00:04:34 Like a highlight for you. More people than just bow. Oh. Hey. He's leaving. Oh, he's coming back. Jake's son. What are you going to talk about?
Starting point is 00:04:50 Oh, wow. No. It was all. fun. It was all fun. See? That's good. Why don't we talk about that? Should have talked about that. Did you go on any hikes, Hattie? What? Whoa. Whoa. That's a lot of hikes. That was nice. Yeah, that was fun. We went on hikes every morning. Wow. Do you ever see any fun wildlife out there? What are we talking in Colorado country? We saw baby moose and a dot. But besides that. And Sloan found, um,
Starting point is 00:05:37 Goat poop. Goat poop. That counts. How'd you know it was goat poop? Because mom has an app on her phone and she took a picture of it and she told us that it was goat poop. Your mom has a poop identification app on her phone? No, it's a nature identification app. No, it could do more than just poop.
Starting point is 00:05:56 It could do leaves too. Yep. Yep, exactly. You should ask your dad about the time he was hiking in Colorado. and thought he saw a black bear, but it was just a dog in someone's backyard. See if he remembers that. Do you remember the time in Colorado
Starting point is 00:06:16 where you were hiking and you saw a back there and it was just a dog? Yes. We were so convinced. Where did that black bear? He's fetching that frisbee. The dog. I did have a moment like that again.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Hey, that's a deer. It's like, no, that's just a person. but a baby moose that's pretty cool yeah but I couldn't figure out what was what on the baby moose what do you mean? It was far away oh yeah that's probably good okay
Starting point is 00:06:53 I feel like usually they say in nature it's not good to run into the baby of anything because the mama's around and she won't like it but I don't have a nature identification what do I I know. Addie, if there's a kid listening right now, a nine-year-old girl, let's say, and they're like one book that I have, that Hattie would recommend for me to read, what would you say?
Starting point is 00:07:21 I don't know. They're all so good. Just give them one. You can always come back and say another one some other time. Nancy Drew, and don't ask me to choose a number. They're all so good. Don't you ask her. Don't ask her.
Starting point is 00:07:33 All right, Hattie, last question. What if you're a 34-year-old man and you're looking to read a book, which one would you recommend? Any adult books. Nancy Drew again probably? Yeah. Maybe. Sweet.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I don't know. I haven't read. All right. I'll read Nancy Drew. Thank you. All right. You ready to be done? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Okay. Say bye to Mr. Jake. Bye, bye. Sure. Please. Be my hype girl. All right. Anyway, sorry about that nuisance back here.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Um, Bose has been getting in the audio versions of Encyclopedia Brown. Oh, yeah. You'd be excited about that. Oh, yeah. Everyone's the way he talks about Bugs Meeny. Bugs Meeny.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Bugs Meeny. I hate that guy. Yeah. I hate that guy. Oh. Gosh. Um, what you want to talk about, Jake?
Starting point is 00:08:40 Rachel came to me recently and said, um, I've been reflecting. I've been reflecting on my love languages. And I've always thought it was, was quality time, but I don't know if that's right. I go, no, yours is definitely quality time. She goes, well, I was thinking, I think it's actually quantity time.
Starting point is 00:08:58 He's like, I don't even care if it's quality. I don't care if it's like good. We didn't have to chat. I just want to be nearby. Okay. Yeah, it doesn't have to be. Yeah, quality, it's just time. Just time.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yep. Great time. Okay. And it makes sense because early on in our marriage, you might remember, I compared Rachel to a dog, which I think is something that any good husband should do. Yeah. She sheds a lot. Yeah. Yeah. Just got that dog, dog in her. Because she would just follow me around the house. She'd follow me into the bathroom. I say, it's going to stink. She's like, I don't care. I just want to be next to you. You know, three years into marriage, she's still, she's still dogging it.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Just all over the house. Follow me. Where are you? You know? And I'm like, this is kind of making sense. It's a quantity time thing. Yeah. That's great. That's literally a dog. Like the dog just one. be there. Yeah, I just want to lay next to your feet. And get so excited when you come home from vacation, probably. Like, oh, he's back. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Interesting. Okay. So she just wants to, she's okay. That's honestly awesome because then you can just do all your work, but just, hey, just, have you ever seen, you obviously know Robert Griffin? RG3 has a podcast, or at least he used to. Have you seen this? He records it like you would, right?
Starting point is 00:10:13 Like, just like a webcam like this. And literally his wife is just. just sitting in the background the entire time. Oh, really? Yeah. So maybe we need to just have Rachel just like, hey, come on. Just come sit back there. You would love it.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Yeah, dude. Like literally just all the time. Just sitting back there not doing a thing. He hasn't addressed her or anything. She's just sitting there on this chair, I think. I don't know. That's what Rachel is doing right now 15 feet from me. So you are not far off.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Yeah. So I don't know. This woman is actually, I think. I can't remember exactly what she looks like, but I think she kind of looks like Rachel, but she's European. Maybe Swedish?
Starting point is 00:10:53 Very, very possible that she's Swedish. That's fun. Quality time or time. Are you a time guy? Are you like a, is there a limit of like, I got to have some alone time now?
Starting point is 00:11:07 I like a little. Put her in her kennel. I like a little time. I like words. I came up with, of realization of the other day, kind of like hers, I said instead of like, you know, what of the love language is like physical touch? I said that mine is probably not quality of touch, it's quantity of touch. Okay. I think that's my love language, just like a nice.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Like a mount of body touched at once? I wouldn't say a mount. I heard of like lay on top of you. No, I think it's just every pass, you know, a kitchen, island, hallway, stairs, walking by you on the couch, just a nice little head scratch. Mm-hmm. that's good just an acknowledgement kind of thing i remember when i opened for uh opened is maybe not the right term it was like a church conference thing but ted cunningham who's like a pastor and speaker or whatever he was like giving marriage advice and he was he said that psychology says your spouse and you should exchange 12 non-sexual touches every day and i remember thinking i am blowing that out of the water check check and triple check yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:12:16 Not a problem, buddy. Okay, so you... Yeah, quantity touches me. You are the quantity of toucher to her. Yeah. And you're like, please, please... She's a dog. I pet her constantly.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I'm realizing now this is just truly just a man and dog relationship. Do you guys like go to the park? Yeah, we do. I bring a football. She doesn't usually catch it, but I mean, she'll go grab it pretty quick and just throw right back. She'll go bounding after it once it stops rolling. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Hates the four. of July, dude. It was rough this year, man. I don't know what we're going to do with their next year. It's fun. Like, when I go out of town, like, she has some good friends, like Kyle's fiancé Ashley. So, like, she just stays at her house.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Like, she stays at her house. Her parents around? No, her parents went to go live on a farm a while back. And he never been around too much anymore. another um non or you know outside of the top five level languages that i've realized rachel has and you tell me if you think this is i don't think this is a necessarily just a woman thing but i think this is maybe somewhat common in uh relationship is i would say what what of rachel's love languages is sharing food okay and it's like so important to her like it came up yesterday i stopped at a smoothie
Starting point is 00:13:38 spot i was like texting her like rachel do you want me get anything he's like all just have a couple bites of whatever you're having. I was like really I'll get you your entire own thing. She's like I'd really rather just share with you. I'm like I'll get you exactly what I got that way it could feel like I'd rather just share with you. I say okay. Does that fire you up a little bit? Do you have a hard time with that? I did end up getting her a second smoothie. But for the most part, No, it's kind of fun just like how much it means to her for me to just like take some of her Brussels sprouts. You wanted some of my side? That's awesome. And do you think that's, do you think that's her like wanting, yeah, like wanting you to want like to share the experience?
Starting point is 00:14:25 Because honestly, I'm the opposite. I'm the one that's always like, I don't want what you got ice cream wise, but I do want to see what the, you know, jitterbug concrete tastes like. and Catherine's always rolling her eyes like, I don't want yours. Like I, can we just go back? That is the perfect name. Like if you know Andy's and like no like the dumb crap, they're always coming up with every summer. Jitterbug is the perfect name for a concrete they would come up with. Jitterbug, dude.
Starting point is 00:14:54 What is that word even? espresso and chocolate. You know, whatever it is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, but I'm like, I just want to, I don't want to. I don't want to. want a whole concrete that's raspberries and hot fudge.
Starting point is 00:15:09 But I wouldn't mind, you know, dipping my toe in that water real fast before I go back to my chocolate and Reese's pieces, you know, and Catherine's always, she lets me, but sometimes I can just tell she doesn't like it. And it's not because I'm like trying to share in her experience with her necessarily. I just want, I just want a little sliver or something.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I don't want to wonder what it tastes like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My dad was pretty good at like, and by good, I mean, the worst at just, he would finish his fries and then he'd go after yours a little bit. Like, not like crazy. Like he understood like, hey, those are your fries, but like, you're not going to, you're going to say anything if I take like five of them. You know, the little dad text before dad texts was a thing. But so he was, yeah, I'm sure he was trying my stuff a lot. But anyway, okay. Go see. Feel free to let me know. Like you're not. You never ask her. Like, like, you never ask her. Like, can I share your food? It doesn't even cross my mind. It's like, no, I ordered what I want and I got it. I'm probably not even going to finish mine anyway.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Yeah, I'm rarely sharing. But when it does happen, yeah, it makes her world. I will say, yeah, in Colorado, like Catherine was texting me like, she was going to get some paninis. And I looked at the minis. And I looked good. And that one looks good. I was like, I'm going to get this one because I think you're going to get this one.
Starting point is 00:16:28 And I would like a bite of yours. I'll change bite for bite. And she goes, you know me so well. And she got the one with the goat cheese and the avocado and I got the one with the garlic aoli and the pepperjack cheese. It was a great time. Good times were had by all. I will say, I may you need to do this more. When I do it, I usually am like, oh, yeah, there's a lot of good food out there.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Exactly. See, you need to expand your horizons and just go for it. And then that's a way to be like, okay, now I know that I don't like that. Or now I know, wow, Brussels are you putting up bacon in there pretty good. Yeah, enough soy sauce can cover a lot of vegetables. vegetable. A multitude of sins, yes. Yeah, Isaac, we were in Michigan and Scott didn't really like his lunch. Mine didn't taste that great.
Starting point is 00:17:09 And Isaac was just ooing and awing over his like bang, bang chicken pizza or whatever it was. So I was like, I'd take a little bang. And it was amazing. I was glad I did it. Yeah, anytime you have like, what do you call that, like, the automontopia kind of word in there? Yeah. Yum sauce.
Starting point is 00:17:28 That's fine. Wow, Kung, pow, chicken or something like that? like that like yeah you're right so yeah almost like especially when it comes to that kind of that like the chinese kind of sound yeah which could be a good segue into the smores if we're if we're ready all right jake uh give me a character and i'm gonna i'm gonna do that character for the mainstream roaster's ad wow okay that's fun um you were going to be a uh italian kind of mafia boss Oh, Mopoulie boss. I was...
Starting point is 00:18:07 Okay. You can be the godfather. Every morning I wake on. Every morning I wake up. Oh, this hurts my throat. Every morning. Oh, I don't know. I can't do that.
Starting point is 00:18:29 All right. And scene. Very good. Very good. This is a game called five-second improv. Brad nailed it. Okay. You guys see where I was leading.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Make him a coffee he can't refuse. That was the line we were hoping to get to, but you guys get it. Okay, okay. Nathan, oh, no. Me going on. Dang it, I didn't even say it right. That offer. So I have the original script in front of me.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Sorry, guys. Sorry, dude. I'm just a Scorsesee head. So I think that's how he's Copla. Hey, mainstream roasters. Best coffee around. I don't know what else to say. They're just the best, and they love us.
Starting point is 00:19:14 And if you can support one company in this country, I would posit, you like that verb, posit, that you should support Macy Roosters at Macyroasters.com, promo code GRC. And I'm going to encourage you guys to have a deposit. 90% of full price with the promo code GRKC at MaiterRRKC at Maiterrosters.com. get everything for you and your family and your neighbors and your friends and your church.
Starting point is 00:19:43 That's right. All their coffee needs. Great. Midwestern. Kind people at Mainstereoasters.com. Thanks in advance. If you're worried about going to Mainsteryroasters.com and missing out on the rest of this episode, go ahead and just pause it and go to Mainstream.com. Yeah, I texted my boy.
Starting point is 00:20:02 He's coming sometime. He said he was going to be ready at about 630. So we got 14 minutes. But we can talk about the smores or we can. can talk about something else and come back to the schmores. All right. Let me see this. Relatable or not, dude.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And I don't know. This is genuinely, I don't know what you're going to say. And I should have had this. Oh, man, I should. I might text Catherine real quick and ask her to bring me this. The relatable or not is I struggle giving things away right after I get them, even though I know I'm never going to use it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Can you get some sort of gift or something that's very nice, but it's not for you. you're going to hold on to it for a while. I went, yeah, it wasn't even a gift. Well, I guess it was kind of a gift. I did a golf tournament with the church. And every year they always give away, like, they always give something as like the, I guess you could call it a gift,
Starting point is 00:20:54 but like every, every, it's like a men's tournament. Every man gets one. A couple years ago was like ball markers and something that last year was like a poncho. This year it was a Nike golf hat. And I have a huge head. and it is still way too big for me.
Starting point is 00:21:12 So I don't know if anybody is going to look good in this hat. Like it's one of those things like I don't even know how to just like it like has first of all it's like a flex fit hat, you know. And and so it kind of one size fits all. But man, it's got the things on the side that just kind of bunch up on both sides. I mean, you look, I look beyond dumb in it. Like I'm not super picky when it comes to like, yeah, I'll wear a hat out. It doesn't have to be my perfect hat.
Starting point is 00:21:38 But like I look redone. ridiculous in this thing to the point where I'm like I know I'm never even going to wear that like around the house because it would not even feel comfortable to wear and so I'm like I just got to get rid of this thing but I just got it and so for whatever reason I think it's the toy story lover in me where it's like that hat has feelings or the person that gave you that hat has feelings yeah and they're going to know word could spread amongst the toys when you're not around that you give away toys quickly right right I don't know. You get that at all? I can't imagine. I think I talked about this to an extent before, but. A hat being that big. Because you know I ought to be head.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Yeah. Did they mess up? I don't know, dude. Hey, Bo. Will you please go into my room and get my hat that I got that has our church's logo on, the LBC logo? Can you run and grab that real quick? Okay, thank you.
Starting point is 00:22:37 I don't know, dude, because, like I whenever I have like this I'm a snap hat whatever you want to call it snapback hat I'm always two two snaps only yeah there's one hat that I have to go one snap and I can't really wear it because it's like that looks ridiculous but like I'm two snapping every time I I think I'm seven in I think it's five eights not bad seven and a half maybe something like that seven and five eight so I got a big old dome I order to hat online and it was like a yeah snapback type hat and they said do you want medium or large and so I went large and now I feel like a bit of a dingus because I have to clip it all the way on all right let's see this thing all right I just want to
Starting point is 00:23:22 what do you say oh okay love you all right check me out tell me this looks do you see it do you see the the side it's like show me the side turn to the side Turn the side of a little bit. Oh, yeah. It is like above the ear. You've got so much room. I could easily do this, dude. I could easily go.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Yeah, tuck it. Tuck it over the ears. I look like, I don't even know. And I have a huge head. That's my point. Like, and they weren't like asking like, okay, what size do you want? I think everyone got this hat, this size. So that's going to fit no one?
Starting point is 00:24:07 Unless your hat in your head gets bigger over time. It's a swoosh flex large, extra large club cap. Maybe they had other sizes and they didn't ask because they just saw like everything else about this guy's extra large. Surely his head is too. But I don't know. I think we're terrible with the headphones on, but. Yeah, kind of like it's like a facelift. It kind of brings everything back.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Anyway. That's nice. That's nice. That's relatable or not. I, um, yeah, let me try to think. Yeah, I would have a tough time. It's kind of like someone gets you a birthday card, Christmas card or whatever.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Like, yeah, eventually he's going to go in the trash, but not right now. I've just probably in the last three or four years started throwing away cards. I used to keep every card. And a letter, a heartfelt letter I still keep. But sometimes like my aunt would give me a card and she would barely even write anything.
Starting point is 00:25:03 She just be like, love you, and I'd keep it. I'd be like, I can't. Yeah. That means a lot. She got that card for me. I think cards in general overrated unless they have heartfelt letters on them.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I don't need a card. Give me a posted note. Post a note. I'm fine with that. Happy birthday. You saved yourself $6 on a... Cards are so expensive for what I've never been moved by an actual card.
Starting point is 00:25:28 I've been moved by words that somebody wrote on a card. Yeah. Or a letter. We were talking about this in Michigan. Me, Scott Isaac, we all went to Target because it was Rachel Warbocker's birthday coming up and so we were going to surprise with a bunch of stuff. and I was like, we should get her a card.
Starting point is 00:25:41 And Scott was like, I think cards are the dumbest thing. I was like, yeah, screw me. Yeah, what are we doing this for? No, but I was like, yeah, but it's, I was like, I agree. I think we should still get a card, but we should not spend more than 15 seconds picking one out. That's where I stand. Like, it doesn't really matter.
Starting point is 00:26:00 I'm going to write something funny in the card. And that's what makes the card. Who cares what I was going to say. Happy birthday grandson, you know, to her. that's kind of funny too. So it sounds like it sounds to me like you can be just fine with a post-it note. You just described a post-it-note. Words of affirmation, yeah, post-it-note's great.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Post-it-notes great. And it sticks to things, FYI. That's good. So check that out. And she ended up having a great birthday. I wrote roses are red, violets are blue. Sorry about the video board, but at least you can sue. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:26:36 So yeah, I would say relatable. There's like there's emotion. There's magic attached to these inanimate things for a little bit, but it'll wear off. I'm also kind of feeling myself with these headphones on that. I just learned a new hack for making a hat look cool. Dude, I'll tell you, first of all, Catherine does not like it when I say you're feeling yourself. She does not like that phrase. Catherine's been feeling herself lately with this.
Starting point is 00:27:01 She's got a new, she's got a new Old Navy. She got it from Old Navy. American Flag Sweater. And boy, does she love it? Oh, yeah. She wears it. It's way too warm for her to be wearing it. She's still wearing it.
Starting point is 00:27:14 We went to the movies, I think, just so she could wear that sweater. Like, she loved, we went to Colorado just for it. She's like, we got to go to Colorado. I could wear it every night. I mean, she looks like some girl from like, you know, the Hamptons or something. Like, she's got like kind of a classy style to her when she wears it. And she does look awesome in it. Like, she looks great.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Like, it suits her well. it's a classic style but I the other night I was just like be honest you're feeling yourself in that sweater she's like I don't like that phrase I don't like what you say that but yeah but but that there's that and then there's that Kate McAllister like camel coat oh yeah she feels herself in that thing I know she does I know she does like I'm like there's certain things you just know you're working that thing mm-hmm and that's one of them so anyway I'm feeling myself on this hat I think a while ago you had a segment that I was would like to now do my version of, which was called permission to be old. Does that sound like
Starting point is 00:28:12 a thing that you did? Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. So I find myself, um, needing a new pair of just walking around shoes. My hokas have become ratty and disgusting and an embarrassment to the middle class. Other people's words. Um, yeah. And so I've just tried to buy just to replace a pair of hokas. Ran into a bit of trouble, you know, Dick's sporting goods not working out. This other store didn't have any and Wides called me club foot. All right. I'll go somewhere else. You're a wide guy? I think that, but weren't they skinnier? You're getting skinnier?
Starting point is 00:28:45 Maybe. Okay, okay. I don't know yet, dude, okay? I don't want to talk about it here. I went to like famous footwear or something and I was like, I'm looking for some hokas. She goes, well, we don't have a lot of the name brand stuff. I was like, oh boy. But come on over here. So she's telling me what to have and then, first of all,
Starting point is 00:29:04 I didn't realize, I feel like I never buy my own hocus. I feel like it's just like a thing Rachel gets me once a year for my birthday. And I say, great. Hocus are like $170. Yeah, that's a lot of money. I mean, what's, shoes have gotten, shoes have gotten expensive. Just in general. Yeah. You'd think that price would go down over time. But she walks me over to this aisle and. Oh, here he comes. Oh, wow. Cliffhanger. Oh, no. No, we want to, I want to hear about it with Jensen.
Starting point is 00:29:37 He's at Jensen. Hi, Jensen. Jake is at Famous Footwear right now looking for Hocas. Not truly right now, but in the story. And they didn't have Hocus. You might be muted. So if you can unmute yourself, that'd be sick as frick. No, you're good.
Starting point is 00:29:57 I can hear you. All right. I'm hearing some noises from him. Wait, you can hear me? Yeah, yeah. Okay, great. She takes me over to an aisle, and I think to myself, hey, these shoes don't look so bad.
Starting point is 00:30:07 And then I look at the price, and it's only, like $80. I'm like, wow, this is less than half the price of a pair of hokas. And they were branded as slip-ins. Oh, no way, dude. So I got two pairs of sketchers for the price of one pair of hokas. Thoughts? Dude, I, I kid you not. First of all, yeah, you're very old for doing that. I was thinking it's okay. Second of all, not one year ago. I have a friend. We all have a friend.
Starting point is 00:30:42 His name's Will Severn's. He's like, dude, everyone's, you know, Will loves, loves trying to, like, you know, go against the grain or, like, tell somebody about something new that everyone should be getting into. He's like, dude, everyone's talking about Ons. Everyone's talking about Hokas. Try some sketchers, dude. And I was like, I'm not going to do. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:31:05 I don't, what I want, light up shoes, I don't need these right now. And you, you went for the slip-ons? I don't know if you've tried them, but your feet slip right in.
Starting point is 00:31:17 The ones that you like, don't need like your hands, right? They like, that's how they advertise them. Correct. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Jensen. Very nice. I think you're missing the point of the most important part of the shoe is for it to stay on and become comfortable. You just like to your foot. Yeah, could go in or out any second.
Starting point is 00:31:38 And Tony Romo, I mean, he was a Skechers guy. That's what I did it for. That's amazing. He's a Romo fan. Jensen, how are you, brother? Good. Excellent. Speaking of Will, just got off a call with him about two hours ago,
Starting point is 00:31:52 Share Your Story.com. Watch out. We're flying off the shelves. Believe it or not, it's hashtag share your story.com? www. Oh, WWW. That's what this means.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Believe it or not, Will did send us a screenshot of you on your call. So, yeah, don't worry about it. Yeah, we did see this. Yeah. So anyway, Jensen is getting married soon. I'm going to his bachelor party this weekend.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Fun time. And he's here for the summer of celebrity, Schmores, baby. What schmores are we doing? You're a celebrity on the podcast. Summer of Celebrity Shmores. Bro, you scared the poop out of me. I thought you said verbs.
Starting point is 00:32:40 So I was like, dude, I don't have anything prepared for celebrities. Oh, no, the, yeah, the, what do you call it? The collection, the theme of this summer is. Yes. No, though. The category for the shmores is verbs. And I didn't say this to you, Jensen, but I thought, think I understand you well enough.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Fun verbs, not like love. Did you, did you think of love and run and walk? Hi. No, you did. Didn't you? Aida's here with me. And she helped me create it. It's a pretty good list.
Starting point is 00:33:14 It's not like boring ones. Yeah, I don't think you guys are going to be stealing any, but I do think that you will covet some. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Out of all people I know, Jensen, you're one of the better words, words, words, guys and not necessarily just because you're like you know you have good words but you also have like words that you never expect somebody to like like out of context inside joke words and sometimes it's like I don't know if that's if I should know that inside joke or if that's
Starting point is 00:33:46 like or or if it's nonsensical like like your nickname for me or for a lot of people is verne which there's no what what's what's that what's the background of that my dad he would always say it and he watched this show growing up called Vern and Ernie I think is what it's called and he would just call people Vern and then hit him with the dot com dot com yeah he says like dot com when he leaves
Starting point is 00:34:12 like all right dot com you hit me with it the other day yeah yeah www www.w.com but then there's other inside jokes that your dad has with you and other people that do have like backgrounds to them like everyone's like Like, it's like they have their own dictionary or something.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Like, Kenny Powers, is that his name? So my dad used to work for Muskingham College. He was in their athletic department. He would do the radio. And then to split up the time, because you really can't make a ton of money doing just college radio. He was in this small town in Ohio. And to split time doing radio,
Starting point is 00:34:50 he worked at the local radio station. So Muskingham College's radio station and his alter ego at 96-5, the Eagle, was Kenny Brown. Kenny Brown. Yeah. So he was at a party one time and someone was like, Jeff, I swear you sound just like the guy
Starting point is 00:35:06 on 96 FM and he's like, that's me. And for one moment, Jeff Harper felt like a celebrity. I am. He'll be there this weekend. I can't wait, man. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:35:20 It's going to be a great group of dudes. It's going to be fun. It's going to be awesome. Yeah. All right. Mount Rushmore. more's of verbs. I don't think it really matters what order we go in because I don't think we're going to steal each other's verbs. But let's let's let's let's let's let's let's let's let's let's get
Starting point is 00:35:36 started this this time. We'll go Jake Jensen and me. Hey Jake real quick. Can I pause you? Um, how are you doing with the moving process? I really haven't been keeping up with you much, but I have seen that your stuff got lost at one point. Did you get it back? It was lost and now it has found. It's beautiful. Beautiful sermon illustration. Everything together. Um, yeah, honestly the move was, I was just texting somebody the other day. I'd say the move was a nine out of ten. The only like upsetting part was the previous tenets, um, dog peed everywhere. So got to figure that out.
Starting point is 00:36:13 But, uh, so on Tuesday next week, um, the pads getting cleaned. And yeah, other than that, it's, it really is great though. We love it. I love the palm trees. We got a pool. it's great we love it down here i see is it constantly it seems like it was the right choice cool that's awesome i love to hear that yeah thanks dude yeah all right my favorite verb uh first one i wrote down for whatever reason maybe pickleball adjacent but i'm gonna put down doink it's not an actual
Starting point is 00:36:45 pickleball word but instead of i don't like the word dink as much so i say you know it's like sunset you know we're kind of hanging the cows us should we doink around a little bit just me or little doink sash real quick, right? It's like we can just do it in our slides. We don't now you to warm up. I'll ask Rachel. Is it just a little doink in the air? You get out there, doink around in the kitchen for a little bit. So, but also I'll use it for anything. It's like, oh, doinked my hip on the kitchen. Oh, yeah, yeah. That's what I was thinking. Doink is more like a, you hit it on something. Or it's like a doinking football. I wasn't looking at dude. He's doinked it off my chest. So yeah, just like it hit or it brushed or it caught, you know,
Starting point is 00:37:23 Like I use doink pretty often and enjoy it. That's good. I like that. Doink. All right, Jake. Give me a character. Let's see if I do as well or better than that Marlon Brando impression. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:39 You are, you are born in China. Okay. You now live in the United States. Okay. Okay. Okay. And you have. have an affinity for animals.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Hi. Will people care? I don't understand the, like, the issue, but people get up, get worked up about this stuff. I think if you're Chinese born. Yeah, that's true. I'm Chinese, so I can say it. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Hi, I Chinese. I come here. Seven years. Oh. First live. In Madison, Wisconsin. Land of dairy. Land of the cheese curse.
Starting point is 00:38:35 I say, beautiful cow. I want one. So, 11 years old, dad says, you want cow? You go buy cow. What happened then? So I go. I go down. I go down to
Starting point is 00:38:52 Larmy. Rammi, Wyoming. I go. I say, hey, hey, hey, man with the cow. What, buy it? They say, no problem. You like, you like, you like antibiotics? I say, what's that? They say, bad stuff. I say, dad told me, dad stuff, don't like bad stuff. So I read, Rare Miami. I say, thank you for a cow. cow, I become American farmer. I sell my cow. I call my cow. I have a name for cow. My cow name is Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, no antibiotics, no hormones, all good stuff. From snout to tail, I say, hey good ranchers.com. Take my meat. Take my cow.
Starting point is 00:39:56 You get more families, just like mine, in Madison, Wisconsin. And they take it. They absolutely slaughtered the crap out of cow. They say, deal, deal, deal, deal. Deal, deal, deal, deal. They give it to slaughterhouse. They take it. They send it away.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Gooransansans.com say, we send it to people in Kansas City, in Indianapolis, in Montgomery. Real de Damma. Oh, please don't be mad, dude. Please don't be mad, guys, all right? In Custin City, Nevada, everywhere has my... I don't know. I know who can be mad.
Starting point is 00:40:39 It's extremely accurate and funny. This is how the people we meet over there speak English. It's amazing. It's incredibly accurate. So good job. And if you didn't get that, go to good ranchers.com to get your American meat delivered right to your door. It's extremely convenient.
Starting point is 00:40:56 It's very good for you. it's very good pricing and you can take even more money off free expended shipping and a free protein out on for life with the promo code GRKC so you know sign up for a chicken box get some extra bacon thrown in for free they got all sorts of meat

Starting point is 00:41:26 Yeah, there's a lot of bigible terms that could use a rewrite. Doinky Danny. Maybe even that one needs to rewrite. Doinky Danny sounds like a good skit character. Hey, it's me. I'm Doanky Danny. Hey, W. DW DWDA.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Doiky Deweeat. Hey, shut me to ball. Come on down a doy dany's Mitsubishi. Oh, man. All right. All right, Jins. Jensen, you're up, yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Ready? All right. I got munch. Munch. I just think they're going to a butt munch. Yeah. Grub can be like a jason. I'm about to grub.
Starting point is 00:42:15 But in this context, could be like a bug. But munch, it's like you know exactly what you're going to do when you munch. Oh, yeah. Hey, there he is. That's my boy. Oh Is that burn? I barked at you
Starting point is 00:42:31 Hey my words munch That's your new word What do you think of What are you doing? That's what everyone's saying Everyone's saying munch Yeah WWWW
Starting point is 00:42:45 No more than Arizona We're going WWW Isaac what's your favorite verb Or what's a fun verb that you like We're doing the smores of like Unconventional verbs So I said doink Oh, doyke is a good one.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Thanks. It's a sit munch. Can't take munch. That's tough. First thought was jump, but that's pretty boring. All right, all right. Go sit down for a second and you come back and you can give us four after we're done. All right.
Starting point is 00:43:15 That's tough. It's tough. I know. He's like, what's a verb? All right. My first one is going to be walloped. Okay. I love it, dude.
Starting point is 00:43:29 You don't beat somebody. You don't, yeah, you don't meslim. You wallop that guy. That's a fun one. Did you catch the UFC fight? Yeah, dude. Jake Paul walloped them. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Perfect example. Yeah, dude. Connor McGregor, is he a UFC? He got walloped. He got walloped. And then my next one, I think I really like the word ski dattle. That was on my list.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Really? Yeah, a skedaddle. Yeah, it's time to skiddle. I don't use it enough. But when you skiddle, you're never like in a bad mood skidaddling. Like it's like, all right, we're going to skiddle. You're never, you're never like, hey, you're like yelling at your kid to get in the car. We got a skiddle now.
Starting point is 00:44:19 We're going to be late for church. Get out. Let's go. Come on. I'm sick and tired of one in this family having the wherewithal to skedaddle. I'm the only one skedaddle in around here. Come on. You skied while I'm daddling.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Yeah, exactly. So, skedaddle and walloped. First two. One, two. All right. Back to you, no, back to me. Back to Munch.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Munch Daddy. W.wbtsmacked.com. Gobsmacked. Gob smacked. So I used to do work with the YMCA. We would do international trips. One of my favorite ones that international has used often, particularly the Brits and Irish, gobsmacked.
Starting point is 00:45:04 That's like stunned, that's surprised. It's, you couldn't believe it. I'm completely gobsmack. It's bobsmacking. Yeah. England beat Mexico and it's gobsmacking. That's fun. I like that one a lot.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Yeah, the British version of it is like when it's out its best. Yeah. I've heard of gobs. but I've never heard of gobsmackers. Everlasting gobsmacked. Wow. Okay. Good answer.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Okay. This is going to be, I don't know who's going to win this one, guys. This is anybody's race. All right. Brad, this is kind of similar to your walloped,
Starting point is 00:45:43 but I already had on my list. Only had five things written down and you took one of them. So got to say it, clocked. Like that man got clocked. Yeah. Yeah. Adjason would be he got us clock cleaned.
Starting point is 00:45:55 I also like when old timers use that. But yeah, just like, dude, do you see Miles Garrett come around the court? Oh, he clocked him. It does feel extra, extra hard. Like, you don't say that unless somebody got absolutely dominated. His helmet came off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Oh, yeah, he got clocked. He got clocked. I like that. Miles Garrett. Anybody, Miles Garrett fan here? Okay. You're at first. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Yeah. I thought No, do Miles Garrett's like The best Brown of all time, maybe. He's on your team. He's plays for you. He's like, well, he's like the best defensive player in the league and he plays for your team.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Why aren't you fan of him? That's all I was gobsmacked but I heard that news, dude. Perfect timing. All right. I actually only said clock just so I could find a way to bring up Miles Garrett. My third round pick is going to be Dilly Downey.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Hmm. Okay. Dilly dallying. He dilly dallyed, you know, whether it's present tense or past tense. It's fun to say. It's fun to type. And I would say it's in my regular vernacular. You type dilly dally? Yeah. Really. Sorry, running late, we were up to a little dilly dally. No way. Search your message right now for dilly dally. I don't buy it. I don't buy one bit of it. I know I've typed this. All right. Search will resume when it becomes indexing. You ever get that message? That's so dumb. Search and eye message is the worst. All right, Jensen, you go ahead and if Jake finds one, we'll let him read it. Right now the only one's showing me is Luke Hoagland text me.
Starting point is 00:47:42 He said they are dilly dallying around in there. Of course, Luke Hoaglin would text that. Of course. Okay, I got two more. But you just get one right now. We're going around. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Right. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. I'm going to go with thwart. Oh, good. That's a tough one to say.
Starting point is 00:48:05 Thwarting, if I were to say, hey, I stopped that from happening. You'd be like, anybody could have done that. I thwarted their plans. I thwarted that old woman from crossing the street. You can't thwart an old woman. You can't. I'd like to see it.
Starting point is 00:48:25 I can't, dude. If you, I think Thwart is violent. I thwarted her by protecting her. I think you broke her hip. I think Thoret has like, like, I don't, I love the word. I don't like the word. I thwarted the CIA's plan to overthrow the Russian election. It's got to be way bigger than crossing the street.
Starting point is 00:48:47 The FBI thwarted the plan at the UFC White House of that. Yes. That's right. Yeah. You thwarted the old woman because she was, is actually in the CIA. Yeah. No, you don't thwart the old woman.
Starting point is 00:48:58 I did something to her, but. You thwart the car that's about to hit the old woman. That's it. I thwarted the car, the, the, dittily daddling Dan's Mitsubishi. Yeah. And how did Dan feel? He was gobsmacked.
Starting point is 00:49:16 All right, good answer, good answer. All right, my next one, I think I like words that have lots of, it's funny, you guys are doing like one syllables. I like a lot. I like a long word, discombobulated. I just think there's something strong about that word. You're completely discombobulated.
Starting point is 00:49:34 There's just, I don't know. I like it. I was seeing stars. So discombobulated? Mm-hmm. Completely discombobulated on that thing. And then, man, there's a lot of good ones left. I think my last one's going to be spearhead.
Starting point is 00:49:51 Like, hey, let's spearhead this thing. I spearheaded that woman so she didn't get. hit by that car. Did you help her or hurt her? I led with the crown of my helmet, baby. That's right. Miles Garrett spearheaded the competition. I just think spearhead is a strong word.
Starting point is 00:50:15 It's just like, yeah, you're going after your spearhead. We need someone to call our attention tomorrow. Who's looking to spearhead that? Yeah, I'll spearhead that. I'll spearhead that, yeah, that task. you know that task is over, it's done. That task is not surviving. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:31 So, Jensen. It's good. Piddle. Great delivery. Midwest, piddling. There's nothing like it. I don't know if I know that one. What?
Starting point is 00:50:47 Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, yeah. So, you know, you're just piddling around your shop. Oh, sure, sure. Yes. That's right. Um, not necessarily like playing.
Starting point is 00:50:57 It's just kind of like joyfully, mindlessly, aimlessly wandering around. It's not like negative, but you're just piddling. I was going to say neutral. It's like not productive, but at the same time, it's good for you. Periputic. Yeah. Yeah. Like you're piddling in your shop.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Like that's fun. You're just kind of like poking around. You're not as focused or as intentional as you could be in another situation. Yeah. But it's good for the goal. Do you imagine when you're piddling, are you always standing still? Would you say? Can you piddle on a walk?
Starting point is 00:51:35 I think it's actively moving. Oh, really? You're grabbing things. You're what? You don't think so? Come on, Aiden. A lot. A glass of wine.
Starting point is 00:51:47 She's hanging out. Oh, yeah. Feeling good. Yeah. No. That's like when I'm on the. phone in my own home. The things I do while I'm on the phone,
Starting point is 00:51:58 I'm piddling. I'm just like walking in weird places and just grabbing something, setting it down. I'm doing all sorts of stuff. Right. Okay. Right. Okay. That's, yeah, that's where I'm at. But it's good. It's good. I love that. Fiddle. Piddle.
Starting point is 00:52:13 Waddle.Wi.I.I.Piddle.com. Donnie Doinkin's pitil. Piddle machine. Friday, Piddle ball. Piddle ball. That's good. Winky dany's. All right, Jake. My last one is going to be the word and the verb monkey.
Starting point is 00:52:29 Oh. Stop monkeying around. I stopped the woman from crossing the street because she was monkeying around that car. She was about to monkey around right into that cyber truck. Oh, yeah. That's good. I like that. Monkeying around.
Starting point is 00:52:46 In childhood. Just, yeah, like mischief or things like that. It's like something that old people are upset at young people for doing. all that time of that cell phone, they're all that monkeying around. Do you think those words are going to get expired, or are we going to adopt those words? We have to keep them around.
Starting point is 00:53:02 It's like supper. If not us, then who? Okay. Jake, if I were to ask you what the word simp means, would you be able to give a good definition? Would you use it? Would you feel good enough to use it in conversation, Jake? No, this word is not in my vernacular.
Starting point is 00:53:22 How does that what it means? How does that make you feel youth pastor? Simping is like, but I think this is already expired, so it's not on any fault of you guys. But simping is like if, if you really liked a girl and you just kept like doing things for, but she wasn't like receiving it. It was a one way street where this guy all he was doing was like bending over backwards to do things for. And she's really doesn't care. I've heard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:52 I'm clear on that. I would just, I'm a grown man. So I wouldn't say. Okay, Brad, you, okay, your point is proof. But my point, my point. So do you want to, do you want to give the context or you want to keep it there? Okay. He was texted me earlier. I was asking of like, hey, can you, can you get on the schmorts tonight and whatever? And he's like, I don't know, like, how long is it going to take? This is my last night with Aden for a few days. and I send him like this rolling eye emoji like and then I said somehow I was talking about going to see Mr. Jensen this weekend to Bo and I was like you know Mr. Jensen right he's like yeah yeah I remember Mr. Jensen he played kickball with us and he was on the phone a lot when he visited us aka talking to his girl the whole time and and then Jensen's like oh my gosh that's like a very passive aggressive way of a six year old telling you you're simping hard or something like that and I was like I don't, maybe, I think, I don't know if I know if I know that word well enough to use it in a sentence. He's like if I was confident on the definition, I would call you a simp, yes.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It would be great if Bo said that. Oh, was that the Simp who played kickball with us? Yeah, that would have been really good. Did we ever talk? Did you hear the story about how Jensen absolutely nailed Bo with the kickball? I do. I feel like I kind of.
Starting point is 00:55:20 I remember that. Yeah, just like with a with a throw or something. I mean, you know, Jensen's 6 foot 13 and just a beast of a man. And from across the like yard, jokingly was like, I'm going to pretend to like throw it really hard. I mean, did throw it really hard, but like thinking like I'm going to miss him on purpose and just clocked him. A nice clock. Just clocked him. Forded his chances to score.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Was he down for a bit? I think he cried, didn't he? He jammed. it like it hit him pretty awkwardly on the thumb and he started crying and then he like Brad picked him up I was oh buddy you did so good that was awesome bro you know just trying to totally recover because I was like run home boat run I was like open and I just oh huh that's another good one that's a good one ball and it drills him because it was a lighter ball so it spun a little bit yeah and it is fun I think it's really fun to like
Starting point is 00:56:20 intentionally missed the kid, but like, make him feel like, holy cow, that ball is coming. So, whoa. Yeah. Anyway, scare him. You have any more words on your list? I had perused, schmooze, flabbergasted, flummoxed, thrash, adjudicate, adjudicate, badger.
Starting point is 00:56:42 Adjudicate is just a cool word. You only use adjudicate if you were going for a Guinness World record. That's the only time I've ever heard that. Well, I mean, how much this costs for an adjudicator? That's probably not worth it. That's the only time I've ever heard it. Okay. 40 pumpkins?
Starting point is 00:57:00 Yeah, I'm not going to use an adjudicator. Dude. 14-inch fingernails? I don't adjudicate that. Badger. That's kind of like monkey, but I mean, I like, I like animals that are verbs. Commend deer. And then on the same line, plunder.
Starting point is 00:57:18 Plunder is a good one. And then getting a little, you know, more spiritual sanctify. Sanctify is a good one. So anyway, you got any more, Jens? Didn't have this on my list, but I'll say it anyways. Commiserate. That's kind of a fun. Giggle, caramelize, broth, gulp, scoge, sniff, savor, smash, and chop.
Starting point is 00:57:46 But those are like, those are good. I kind of misunderstood the prompt. I'm sorry. I should have, I should have given you. I like gave Jake the example of like, I think I said unconventional verbs. I think I just said verbs.
Starting point is 00:57:59 So mid-podcast, I looked at Aiden and I said, I'm in trouble. No. You nailed it, dude. You nailed it. I think it was great. It's fun.
Starting point is 00:58:12 All right. Anything else you want to talk about, Jensen, before you go? All I got to do is eat this crunch wrap that Aiden made for me. Look at this crunch wrap. She made that? It was pretty good. Is that mean, is that, is that crunch rap simp in?
Starting point is 00:58:26 Is that a simp rap? Simp-in. Yeah. That looks amazing. That's why a simp right there. Let me, let me tell you real quick, then that's worth, you have a simp right there. Jensen, so for his bachelor, for a wedding present for me from Jensen,
Starting point is 00:58:46 Jensen has been like, I mean, how many hours do you think you've spent? on these things. That's. He's been simping on these things. 20 hours probably. Jake, this is why I texted you, minimum 20.
Starting point is 00:59:01 Do you remember when I texted you about mute math for Brad? The way Jake and I text, it's kind of like a bulletin board where you just like, we just send each other links. No one really responds to it, but we send each other links.
Starting point is 00:59:13 And like, that's really all we do. But I sent you one of like, I think that Brad's favorite band is mute math. So I found this guy on eBay that was selling like a one of one mute math patch. And I'm gluing it onto a hat that Brad really likes. So it's going to be cool. I'm pumped. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Jensen's like, yeah. And for like multiple of his friends is like finding these really cool, very unique hat. They're like making these unique hats. And it's like, I can tell you you put more thought into this than I put in it like raising my children or something. Like it's like amazing. But I wanted to show you I was talking earlier in this episode. we got hats for this men's golf tournament for our church and they fit terribly. Like I have a huge head and they fit too big for my head.
Starting point is 01:00:00 Like look at these like you can't really tell, but it's like too big on my head. And so I was like, I was like, I'm never going to wear this hat ever. And so I was like, well, I guess I'll wear it for this to show off for the podcast. But anyway, yeah, my business venture is I contend that everyone is a hat person. and they just haven't found the right hat. So either it fits great, looks terrible, meaning they don't love the colors or whatever, or it looks really cool,
Starting point is 01:00:27 has cool logos, patches, whatever, but it doesn't fit great. And I contend that people would want to spend a little bit more money to get a custom-made hat that looks great and fits great. And I want to do that for my friends as a gift to start my business. Love it, dude.
Starting point is 01:00:44 Not going to be a business, but pretty fun. Jensen, I have a question for you. Our most recent text conversation besides that one was about honeymoon resorts and I told you I don't know if you need to go to sandals did you end up finding one
Starting point is 01:00:56 where you're going? Thank you for the follow-up we are going to you guys ever heard of Iberostar? Yeah. It's kind of spelled funny. Okay yeah so we're going to coasts,
Starting point is 01:01:06 we're going to Punicana so that's Dominican D.R. We're going there and we're doing a little golfing couples massage and candlelit dinner and then it's an
Starting point is 01:01:19 inclusive. So I'm pumped. A little monkey in around. A little couple doinks. Rosie. What I'm real. You say hi. He said hi, Rosie.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Can you say hi. Can't hear you, but you can just be quiet if you want. You want to just watch. There's Mr. Jensen. Remember him? The scent from Cincinnati. Remember
Starting point is 01:01:46 Simpson? Cincinnati? Remember of our We call him? We call him Bart Simpson. That's good. Rosie's hair is great. Boys,
Starting point is 01:02:00 would encourage your feelings if I left. No, here, don't go, or sorry, I'm going to stop this so that yours uploads. But yes,
Starting point is 01:02:08 you can just, hey, see you, man. Okay. Pause in real quick because I'm going to become this character.
Starting point is 01:02:17 Brad, what would you like to see? Yeah, sure. It's a it's a it's a it's a regular old guy just a just an average Joe just one little quirk about him he only has the left side of him okay so he's he's a side sleeper he's a side hustler he has a he has a lot of side jobs go oh and by the way he can't speak English what was that last part he can't speak English I'm just kidding
Starting point is 01:02:49 There you go. Hey, everybody. Jake here and just wanted to tell you guys, just a healthy recommendation. I've been sleeping and using cozy earth loungeware lately. And boy, it puts a smile on my face. I did it the wrong direction.
Starting point is 01:03:15 From head to toe, I am covered in cozy earth. And from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, that's what I'm that's what I'm dude it's it's mirrored it's throwing me out that's what I'm wrapped up in so
Starting point is 01:03:31 dude your your shadow is even like half and half you look like Harvey did in Batman bro like oh my gosh like you really so take it for me guys
Starting point is 01:03:51 cozy earth dot call use a promo code Ghostrunners? Ghostrunners. Actually, it's GRKC to get 20% off the whole website. Had that one a little wrong. Actually, whoops, I messed up the promo code. I just tried to raise one eyebrow so hard.
Starting point is 01:04:09 I messed up the promo code. All right, that's it. Cozier.com slash ghost runners. Oh, my God. You want to do some wins of the week, Jake? Let's do it. My win of the week. Actually, Rosie's right here with me.
Starting point is 01:04:22 I want to talk about Rosie, one of my wins of the week, one of my favorite things that's happened this week is Rosie finally has started jumping into the pool and getting her face completely underwater. And it is so fun because Rosie's personality out of all the kids is the one that should be jumping in and going crazy. And she's been really worried about it getting on her face, stuff like that. and it's been so fun watching her jump into the water. And it's just, it's just, it's amazing. She closes her eyes like three seconds before she jumps and then jumps in.
Starting point is 01:04:59 It's so fun. So that is great. That's my one of the week. That's a fun milestone. Yeah. It's fun, isn't it? Yeah. She looks so proud of it too when you said that.
Starting point is 01:05:11 She is. That's what's so fun. She's like, Dad, do, like put your hands out underwater and I'll jump to your hands. It's so fun. So.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Is it dinner time? Okay, you got to go eat dinner. I love you. Say bye Mr. Jake. Bye, Rosie. Underwater Rosie. Mermaid. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:05:31 She's something. We can wrap this up soon. You got dinner. I got stuff. You all got stuff. I got stuff. My one of the week, I think the first thing comes to mine is this week has been defined by,
Starting point is 01:05:45 I'm taking care of myself. I've met three new people this week. I've got a new doctor down here. I figured that's something you should do. I went to the dermatologist. Okay. That was fun. Got a little guy removed on the forearm.
Starting point is 01:05:59 Okay. And then met a personal trainer. Me and Isaac and Kyle are going to start working out with a guy three times a week. Every week. Keep each other accountable. We'll have this guy that we pay to do it and feels good. Take care of the body. Good for you.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Getting after, getting that Arizona bod going, boy. That's fun. So have you met with the. them yet, like done any sessions? Yesterday was our assessment. Okay. You guys are doing it all together? I feel, yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Like, I am more athletic than the average person. Sure. I feel like I'm in decent shape for 34 years old. Absolutely. But when you get training with a Division 1 athlete or Isaac McDonald, who might be higher than a Division 1 athlete. Yes. Man, it feels like I'm lagging behind.
Starting point is 01:06:45 Isaac could have tried harder. ran track at division one or something like jumped like done like high jump or something like he's he's a boss yeah so yeah so well that's i mean honestly that's like what that's what it should be it's it's like you're you're working you're you're the not the lowest whatever you want to call like but like that's going to push you harder than if you were the best you know what i mean yeah stinks for those guys i'm dragging it down that's right coat tails are pretty heavy for them um That's great. Okay. I love that, man. And then comment of the week?
Starting point is 01:07:27 Comment of the week. Let's do it. There are some great ones from last week's Wednesday's episode, Spritz Delcante. The top comment says, I don't know if you guys know how sourdough starter works. And the fact that it's the top comment shows me, yeah, I guess I don't. Hey, but somebody said it does, I saw somebody else post like, hey, I'm a sourdough. person and it doesn't matter like how much how old it is for the starter like
Starting point is 01:07:54 it doesn't really affect it. It's cool but doesn't affect it that much so listen we're back we're fine. My comment in the week I need to find the exact comment real quick but basically it was Noah Potratz who's from Wisconsin
Starting point is 01:08:11 shout out Noah let me see if I can find it real quick he just said petition to make CST stand for Culver's standard time. I like that a lot. Yeah. I didn't see that.
Starting point is 01:08:28 He posted that on the Facebook group. And I'm like, that's amazing. That's perfect. That's exactly right. Like we said last night or last week, like if you have a Colvers, you should not be in Eastern time zone.
Starting point is 01:08:40 So CST is Colbert standard time. So two other comments. I feel like just deserve some love. Mitchell Bowser said, just had to apologize to time in because Brad said, hey Siri call ex-boyfriend and it called him. And then Christina Jade said, not to add even more complexity to the whole
Starting point is 01:08:57 two knack baxter situation, but my husband's name is also Nick Butler. Just a very common name. I mean, surely that's the most common Ghostrunners fan name we have. I guess so. Are there three of anything else? Are there three Amanda Smiths out there that listen to us?
Starting point is 01:09:18 I don't know. yeah katie williams i don't know yeah maybe katie williams if you're out there comment um yeah let us know ashie smith please uh any man there's some good comments oh yeah love the ghosties thank you for all your comments i am curious if you've seen i i won't ask every episode jake but i want to know if you've seen a snake or a scorpion yet thought i saw a snake who's just a long piece of grass. Okay. And no scorpion yet, although the ghosties are doing everything in their power to terrify.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Me and Coli keep talking about it. We go enough with the emails. Enough with the Facebook post. No comments. I read it all. So stop. Well, that's my point is like, I, I am convinced based on all these things that, like, they're everywhere and you're seeing them all the time.
Starting point is 01:10:12 You're sure. It's like, it's like, it's like people are like, oh, you're from Chicago. Have you ever gotten shot before? It's like, I don't think everyone there. I mean, yeah, but that was just a coincidence. That was what I was driving through St. Louis to get here. Oh, you're from St. Louis. Yeah, whatever.
Starting point is 01:10:29 Have you got looted before? Like, that's not everywhere here, okay? But I do want to know. Like, so I'm not going to ask every week, but please, if you ever get a scorpion or a snake sighting, I want to hear about it. I will say this morning, I went to go put my, put my sketches on. I had left them outside on the back porch area. and I put my right foot, it slipped. I slipped my right foot in.
Starting point is 01:10:56 And then for some reason for the left shoe, I was like, I guess I'll check it for scorpions. And so I just dump my shoe out. Of course, there's nothing in there. But the ghosties are getting to me, man. Checking my left shoe for scorpions. Okay. But I'm good.
Starting point is 01:11:10 One last little thought from me. Well, yeah, I think, yeah. I just said, how much dancing is too much dancing in public? I was at a coffee shop earlier today. This girl looked like she was an older woman. I don't know. Older woman. I'm not going to say a number because then people that age that are like 53 also
Starting point is 01:11:31 are going to feel old, but whatever. She's an older woman. She was listening with her wired headphones in and she was just kind of doing one of these. And I thought, good for her, but she's right on the cusp. Yeah. Of too much. Yeah. There's like a spectrum of like where you're at.
Starting point is 01:11:52 and how much you're allowed to dance. Because you remember my story, those like Gen Z kids at Lifetime Fitness, like both with their headphones in. Oh my gosh, yes. It's too much. Kind of like joking, like making eye contact when they did it too, right? Or something. It's like, yeah, guy, I think boyfriend and girlfriend,
Starting point is 01:12:10 both in like high school or something, but I don't know. It was grossing me out. So yeah. I think you can do almost, almost anything you want dancing wise with your head. Like, I'm okay with a, I'm okay with a Bob. I think you have, you have granted more permission to move if everyone else can hear the music.
Starting point is 01:12:29 I think if it's private music, you're not allowed to move as much. Okay. Your moving radius gets smaller. If we were at a slow pitch softball game and they're playing a fun song over the speakers, everyone's allowed a little bit. Yeah. Oh, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey, good you remember. Hit the road, Jack.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Don't you come down? Oh, yeah. Right? I've heard this one a lot. I also saw somebody getting it dancing in their car the other day. They were tailor me pretty good. And so that's when I was looking like, what's going on back there? They didn't seem to mind.
Starting point is 01:13:11 They didn't seem like I was going. They were just like getting after it. And I'm like, okay. I think they're just too into the song. They're getting aggressive because of the song. Was it a white guy? Do you have a haircut like Isaac? It was not a white guy.
Starting point is 01:13:25 He might have cut Isaac's hair, but it was not a white guy. Yeah, but he was getting it. That is a fair question, though. There's a nuance to dancing in public. And listen, I, anytime I'm like even mildly annoyed, I have to, I just check myself of like, don't take away their joy. Like, they're having, they're, they're in a good mood. That's why they're dancing.
Starting point is 01:13:46 Like, because sometimes I'll get after in my shop by myself. and it feels great. And so I'm not trying to judge anybody else. I bet you do. I do, dude. Every once in a while, I'm like, oh,
Starting point is 01:14:00 yeah, dude. Roll down those windows while you're driving sometimes, get into it. And so anytime, I just have to check myself as like,
Starting point is 01:14:08 it's because I'm not doing that well, I guess, if I'm annoyed with them. Yeah. But anyway, I appreciate this girl. But I also was like,
Starting point is 01:14:16 you're not getting much work done dancing like that. Yeah. For the most, I think most times it is like, you know what, they're not hurting anybody. They're having fun. But there are times where it feels like, there's like a little bit of a show. It feels like you kind of want us to watch you. You want me to react.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're twerking on my coffee like desk, like that I'm trying to... You're twerking and doing the Cardi B lyrics. Right. It's too much. You just doinked me a little bit with your belt buckle. Oh, all right. That's fun.
Starting point is 01:14:51 Right episode. fun episode. Thanks to Jensen for joining. Let us know in the Facebook group. It's called Ghostrunners Podcast. Let us know who won the Schmores. Always fun to see. The last time I checked last week's smores with Nack Baxter, he had three votes. Which might be all the time.
Starting point is 01:15:10 And Night Vision goggles was like, I thought that was going to earn some. Redemption. No. Yeah, I think, I think smoke detector really hurt him. Which I feel bad because he like openly said it was his wife's idea for that one. But, I mean, you got to know when to trust their wife and when not to. I was going to say, yeah, I mean, to become one. That's right.
Starting point is 01:15:30 You don't live in Iowa. Like, you know, sometimes you guys say no, all right? Anyway, we love you guys. Come to ghost to getaway, ghostrunners. Live slash travel if you want to. Or just text us, man, I wish I could make it, but I can't. And we'll say, yeah, you should come. We'll work with you.
Starting point is 01:15:47 So, yeah. All right, we love you guys. We'll see you Monday. Have a great week. From a spot down Everybody Morning We're taking around
Starting point is 01:15:58 That's what's
