Happy Monday, ghosties.
Happy Monday, Jake.
It's the bland background, boys.
And honestly, it looks like we have the same shirt on as well, which we don't.
It's like, hey, let's get, let's get like some really neutral background in here.
Let's get some, yeah, really, whatever.
Yeah, I am filming in my living room.
You're filming in a small closet.
A small closet, which, you know, don't say that we're too, too big.
The ghost owners have gotten too big for things.
It's like, no, no, no, no.
We're back where we belong.
I'm recording the living room because having some issues with all the technical stuff,
I was like, maybe we need to be close to the Wi-Fi.
Also, try to take advantage.
My kids are out of town.
Oldest three are at Cousin Camp in Texas.
See you.
They're out of town.
And then Henry is down with my mom while Catherine gets some homeschool planning stuff done a little bit.
But I just thought, hey, we have this opportunity.
Let's record in the living room.
What if we also had a special?
guest on the podcast today. It's just you and Catherine in the house. Yeah, we're just, it's just
solo here. Uh, so somebody that has not, uh, I mean, we haven't heard from them in a while
figure we bring, bring, bring them it back. Bring it back. You're not, you're not a object. I'm
sorry. Um, but yeah, come on in. Come on. Come on. So, come say hi. Bring it back for time and
empty. What's up, guys? Yeah. You thought I was Jackson.
Pim, Pim.
Timon's back.
Everybody.
It's back.
It's back. Guess who's back?
Back again.
It is back.
Guess what's back.
Tell a friend.
Roll the music.
We're just going from there.
Time is back, baby.
Uh, uh, oh, oh, I think this tight.
Be means that it's going down with some random thoughts and white.
Me too.
Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat.
So come along.
Let's have some fun and go ahead.
Get on your feet because it's a ghost.
Tom and welcome back, brother, brother, brother.
Time and welcome back, brother.
Thank you.
You are back from a lot of places.
Obviously, you were in Ohio.
Yeah.
But tell us, I'm back from mostly Ohio.
Most of them.
But also somewhat Jamaica.
Yeah.
And I guess I drove through a lot of Midwestern states to get to Ohio.
So I'm also back from Illinois.
Okay.
And Indiana, St. Louis.
Oh, unfortunately.
Yeah.
You came back alive.
That was your mission trip right there.
Can we talk about,
way harder than Jamaica?
I drove to Kentucky last weekend.
And I noticed something,
and I want to know if you noticed this, too,
driving through those states.
All those states want to claim Abraham Lincoln.
Oh, really?
Have you noticed this, dude?
I think of Illinois,
but it is funny to think that all the other ones
are also claiming Lincoln.
Springfield, Illinois is the answer, right?
That's what you think of,
You think of everyone's like, yeah, because driving to my, my grandparents, like, every year as a kid, it was like there was a big, like, sign of him or something.
In Illinois.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But you, you drive through Indiana.
It's like home birthplace or boyhood home.
I think that's where they're like boyhood home at one of them, Indiana, I think.
And then Kentucky is like something else.
But then Illinois is the land of Lincoln.
And then you got Lincoln, Nebraska.
I don't even know who's what that's a word way ball with the whole thing.
So I didn't know if you noticed that or not.
But yeah, every like, it was like, welcome to Indiana, boyhood home of Abraham Lincoln.
And it's like, and I understand pretty big, pretty big deal, Abraham Lincoln.
But it's like Abraham Lincoln, you know, breathed here one time.
Welcome to Kansas.
Like Abraham Lincoln had heard of Kentucky.
Yeah.
I do think that he has something going on in Kentucky.
I don't remember what it was.
I just looked it up.
He was born in a log cabin in Hodgginville, Kentucky.
Okay.
So what's Indiana doing?
He was a toddler in Kentucky.
He moved his family to Spencer County at age eight.
Is that Indiana?
And grew up there, Indiana.
Okay.
And in Illinois, he lived there for over 30 years.
That's where he built his law practice.
Final resting place.
And also where he died.
So how many years was he in Indiana?
Over 30.
Oh, wait.
Sorry.
Indiana for like 14 years.
Okay.
Okay.
I guess that's pretty valid.
I think they're all, they're all kind of valid.
Now that I hear that, Kentucky, now I'm starting to think is like number three on the list as far as Lincoln.
Lincoln logs, you know, like, I don't know.
Like, that's, that's a little bit.
I don't know.
But he was born there.
He's born there.
Hagenville.
Anyway, Timon, you've been to Jamaica as well.
Did you see anything for Lincoln, man?
Yeah, I think he went on vacation there one time.
There was signs for another.
No, it's funny.
like their whole in the airport and stuff like their whole huge claim to fame is bob marly everywhere
oh yeah all bob marley yeah which is pretty fun yeah i'm trying to think of things from jamaica i
i jamaica was super cool i have one story that i like when it happened i was like this is a podcast
story let's go and remind was this at the beginning of the summer or do you just do this no no no
jamaica was like jamaica's not really fresh in my mind this was yeah yeah the beginning of the summer
this was like it was Jamaica then right after that I left for Ohio for like
many Lincoln's ago yeah it's been a lot of yeah a log time ago um so so it was like one of
the things we did in Jamaica as like a group like you know we had several days that were kind
of just actual like work projects helping this the people in this deaf village like build
things and like clear brush and stuff like that okay but one of the days that's what deaf jam is
Deaf Jamaica.
Oh my gosh.
I thought you said death village.
I was like, goodness gracious, dude.
That's crazy.
Yeah, we were, they needed us pretty bad.
What is a deaf village exactly?
Because is deafness genetic?
Or is it like, let's just throw all the deaf people in one village?
Kind of, kind of that.
Because it's kind of like deaf, I mean, in Jamaica and everywhere where there's deaf people,
like, they don't get access to a lot of things.
They kind of just like, a lot of times a kid is born dead.
deaf and the phalanian. They just like don't learn sign language. They're just kind of like cut off. It's pretty rough. So there's like a village in Jamaica where deaf people can go. Okay. So and I guess maybe people have died there. So it could be a deaf death death village. Okay. But basically you were doing stuff in the deaf village. Yeah. Yeah. And I, I wish I could like speak to you in sign right now, but I forgot everything that I learned. I kind of know the alphabet though, I think. But that would not be fun to listen to.
So anyway, but the podcast-ish story is not really Jamaica-specific, but we went to a coffee shop that's run by, it's like an entirely deaf run, not death, Jake, deaf-run, coffee shop.
And anyway, so I was like, I had theorized before then that I might be a little bit lactose intolerant.
I was like, I theorize this many times.
Yeah, well, it's like, it's not consistent because I'll like, because I'll, like, because.
I'll drink milk and I feel like I'm fine.
Like I enjoy drinking just milk,
but then I have had like a couple milkshakes in the past.
It's like the heavy dairy, like Andy's.
I was like, I'm pretty sure that the poop after that was because of the milkshake.
I was like,
yeah.
But I still wasn't positive and still,
I guess I'm not,
but kind of been more after the story.
I was like,
there's this big like 24,
whatever,
like large orio milkshake.
It sounds really good.
I'm just going to get it.
From the coffee shop?
Yeah, just kind of use it as a test to see if I'm lack and as intolerant.
I was like, I don't know.
I might as well really go for it to see if, to like see if there's a correlation.
Okay.
And there was a correlation.
Like 20 minutes, 20 minutes after I drank it, I was like, oh, wow, I need to find a bathroom.
And the only bathroom in this coffee shop, very small coffee shop, there's like a single, like, little room bathroom that's like right next to where everyone is hanging out.
And so I was like, I don't want, I don't want to do it in there.
I know that it's going to be bad.
So I'm like, this happened immediately.
Pretty darn immediately.
It was like probably 20 minutes afterwards.
So we were all still at the coffee shop.
And who is there?
Who's the community?
It's the entire group of us like from people from Illinois, Kansas, across like our churches in the United States.
And then like some company.
Some employees that we've made friends with like some people that some people from the village, I think were with us.
Like so yeah, a lot of different people.
Um, and so I was like, I need to find a bathroom that's not this little bathroom that's right next to everybody.
Cause I just don't want to even if like, I'm worried about the noises. Yeah. Yeah. I'm worried about anyone going in after me. So, um, I like, I'm asking around like, does anybody know if there is there a bathroom like farther away?
Eventually and and we were like, where's like the farthest bathroom you know? Yeah. Where's the furthest within walking distance of this place? Um, and so.
I finally do realize there's one.
And we're kind of at a deaf school as well.
It's like this coffee shop is kind of part of.
There's lots of deaf children like around.
So I did have to thought.
I finally eventually found a bathroom,
was able to get it done in there.
And I had a nice thing as no one can hear you.
Exactly.
I mean,
let it rip.
The chances are most of people walking by can't really hear me.
So I can just be free.
Oh!
And then I thought it was over.
but like probably 40 minutes later we were this was kind of like our touristy vacationy day so we went to this
like random it was almost like I think it was maybe some rich guy that had a huge mansion but also like
turned like a bunch of little shops nearby and so we were at these shops and I was like I got to go
again there's a round two um and so I go to I like rush into this bathroom it's like a real bathroom
there's stalls and there's like um it's it's great and so I am like
I think I get done with round two and it's like it's insane.
It's like I definitely I can't confirm I'm lactose intolerance.
And then I'm looking around and I've never been the guy that's wise enough to look around for toilet paper before I start.
But I'm so confused because I'm like there's not even a spot where it would be.
Oh no.
I'm like this must be a Jamaican thing.
China style.
Yeah.
I'm like where is it?
And so I like, I take a peek out the door when I think that one's in there.
And I see like 15 feet away on the wall.
It's like, please take toilet paper before you go.
It's like up on the wall there.
Oh, they have like a like it's like it's like publicly available.
Yes.
Yeah.
You can like you can grab it.
It's in a roll in the wall.
It looks like where you would dry your hands.
So I would, it wouldn't have caught my eye before I.
And nothing was catching my eye.
Not during round too.
Um, and so I'm like,
I mean, truly, there's like three times where I build up the courage to like, I'm just going to quick run out there with my pants like halfway down. Oh, you went pants down. You were like, I don't need. I don't even. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so, um, there's like three separate times where I fully work up the courage and then someone walks in. And I'm like, someone's going to walk in when I do this. Eventually, I was like, there's been a big enough gap. I just sprint. I didn't sprint. I waddled over. Yeah, you did. You grab the toilet paper.
grabbed the whole bunch and went back into the stall and it was all okay.
Nobody saw me.
But that was,
I was like,
that's a podcast story for you.
Goodness,
they had that on the wall.
Okay.
I know.
Like,
what if there had been nothing?
What if you were just expected to carry it in your,
I don't know,
you would have been signing,
looking for,
yeah,
right.
Did you have that thought at one point?
Like,
what do I do if,
if there's nothing?
Like,
did you look around,
like,
McGiver style?
Well,
I think that my first instinct was,
I might have like,
I was like,
did they just forget to put it in my stall?
I like peaked under to the two next to me.
Okay.
Like, are they in there?
Nope, no toilet paper in there either.
So then I like looked outside.
It's like, dang, it's on the wall.
Dang.
Did you think about like potentially asking someone who walked in?
I was going to.
Hey man.
Yeah.
And also would you have used a accent?
Yeah.
Breda. I'll you stay.
I need wipe.
Um, yeah.
I was, I think I was about to text somebody maybe before I
I was going to be like, I don't know where people get toilet paper around here, but can I have some?
Dang, dude, you waddled on out there. Yeah. That's awesome. What, uh, what did you learn any fun?
This is your first time going, right? Yeah. I, yeah, I, it was like my second, my first time ever
flying anywhere out of the country because I've like driven to Canada and Mexico, but I'd never.
Um, yeah. What, uh, did you learn some fun phrases? Some, I just want, I just want some Jamaican. Yeah. I think,
I think next time I meet a Jamaican person, I want to say these phrases.
So please give me a few.
I learned and this, I'm going to butcher it somehow.
I'm trying to remember.
I think this stands for like, hello, like, hey, man.
We got.
Amen.
Yeah, yeah.
We got to like, we need to keep, like steadfast on Jesus or something like that.
So I think it's like, oh, how does it?
I mean, it's probably just, hey, I'm on.
We fee keep we eye lock upon Jesus.
Oh, wow.
Pretty cool.
Like, it's not too far away.
It's like Jamaican Potwa is like 50% English, but it's also like mixed around and like,
whoa, it's a very interesting language. Also, most people there do speak English, at least to some extent.
Well, that's what I thought everyone spoke English. I didn't know there was something called Potwa.
There's a strange like dialect.
We fee keep by our Jesus.
Yeah, we fee keep we eye lock upon Jesus.
Okay, okay.
Yeah.
Because like when we went to Trinidad,
Jake and I both, we've never been there together, but we've both been there multiple times.
And they had like a Jamaican sounding accents, like kind of islander accents.
And one of the phrases they liked was Lyme, like Lyme meant to like hang out.
Like we're Lyman.
Okay.
So I didn't know if you had anything like that.
But I guess I can try the thing that you say.
I'm trying to remember.
Yeah.
I'm trying to tell my head.
I can't remember.
Also, do you want me to like stare at you while we talk?
Because that's kind of uncomfortable for me.
But also I don't want to like not look at you.
Sure.
We could.
I don't care.
I also like if we also feel like we can see each other on the screen.
Yeah, I know.
And also if we're like both like really in the screen, like we're really close together here.
So a little bit.
I just want to go to these to know that I think about those things.
So yeah, I'm listening to you even if I was staring straight ahead.
I wasn't.
I wasn't.
So we're good.
Yeah.
So you went Jamaica, then Ohio.
And in fact, recently you were on family vacation.
Where was that at?
Yeah.
That was that was unexpected.
So last year,
I kind of was just all over the place when I was supposed to be filming in Ohio.
I kept on finding, like, I went on vacation in San Diego with my family.
I would just go out, like I went to Gulf Shores when I was supposed to be filming kind of.
I just kept on, like, it was okay with my boss because I was kind of more of an intern.
And it was like, but he did mention probably on one of the last times he was like,
okay, this is fine, but like, just know next time you're hired for one of these things.
You can't really just be going off and doing this stuff.
So I wasn't planning on taking any time off.
but like towards the end there were definitely a few weeks towards the end of the shoot where a lot of people were just like pretty ready for it to be done it was like it's turning into kind of a grind
um did it last longer than anticipated or was it just like no this is just how it goes no it was just kind of like I don't know something was different and I think even for me just not having Zach there hit was like way different than I expected I was like oh it'll be great like it's most the same people but just like the first couple weeks going home to just like an empty Airbnb I was like
man, I'm kind of lonely.
I was like, I need to want to just debrief things with and talk to.
So I would call friends a lot.
But yeah, the first couple weeks were rough because I didn't, I wasn't like prepared for that.
But then it was all fine.
But anyway, what was even the question?
What was I even talking about?
I don't.
I think I asked where your family vacation was.
Yes.
So we'll get there.
One of these.
I'm getting there.
Towards the end, um, me and Isaac's like the DP, the, uh, good friend on set.
We were just talking about like, man, you know, I could kind of go.
home whenever. And he was like, yeah, like, I'm kind of, I'm kind of over it too. I was like,
and it's too bad. I'm missing my family vacation or whatever. I wasn't even saying it like,
passive aggressively or like, man, you're, I'm stuck here. But he was like, oh, you should just go.
I was like, really? Wait a second. Yeah. Last year, that's the opposite. Yeah. Um, he was like,
yeah, that'd be fine. Like, there's other people that could have fun doing B cam and stuff like that.
So I was like, okay, cool. So then I just drove nine hours one day and I was there in Wisconsin Dells for
two days and then drove back nine hours the day after that. So lots of driving. I think I still
like solo road trips, but they get old when you do like a bunch of them in a short period of time.
Really? Yeah. It can be rough. But it was super fun. I was glad to do it. That was when it got really
smoky. Did it ever get smoky here? I don't think it ever got Canadian fires and stuff.
I don't know. I was about to ask Jake and then I realized Jake's gone. I don't know about it.
I don't think so. Okay. If it did, I just thought it was just a
a little bit of a different day.
It wasn't obvious.
Yeah, it was very obvious in Wisconsin and in Ohio.
It was like just strange.
Yeah.
We were playing sand volleyball in Wisconsin and then like, it was very sudden.
It was like the winds changed and like it got super ominous and dark and then just like
smoke filled the air.
And I was like, is this the end of the world?
It was kind of weird, but then it was fine.
It was like, okay, it's from Canada.
Okay.
So, yeah, the filming went fine.
Yeah.
I would say, and it was a success.
It went well.
And there were like, there were just weeks that were better than others, I think.
And like, the last week of filming was randomly amazing.
I mean, we just like, I think we were just, maybe we just got to the point where we were
like past being over it, where we were just like laughing at everything and everything was great.
It was like, at least a small group of us on set, we're just having the time of our lives.
So by the end, I was sad to leave.
There's something special about like, you can't, yeah, you can't like, you can't manufacture it halfway through.
But it's like, yeah, the end of, when you, you, when you.
you know the end is coming. Yeah. It's just different. Like it's just like we got to take
advantage of this last night or this last day or this last week or this last year, whatever it is.
Definitely. And you're just like, well, why don't we just do that from the beginning? It's like you can't.
I know. You can't manufacture it. So yeah. So this was season two of that Amma show. You were there
how long? Seven weeks, eight weeks? I think it was 40 days of filming. But there was like two day
weekends. I don't know. Yeah, about eight weeks or seven, eight weeks. And you were last year,
you did a few different things, but this year you were operating a camera every single day.
On the call sheet, I was like, B cam slash swing where you can like be a grip or you can be
like you could be helping moving lights and stuff. But even last year like by a couple weeks in,
Isaac really liked my B cam operating skills, I guess. And so like I ended up being kind of the main B cam guy.
But yeah, this time I was just B cam. And it was it was really fun. Like I definitely know what it sounds like
I had a bad time. It was, it was really good.
Sure, sure, sure. And like,
I felt like, you know, I was just more
one of the crew. I wasn't just like an intern.
And like, I was getting paid more, which was cool.
Yep.
What was the ratio of like,
holding a camera to putting it
on sticks?
Tripod. Or maybe like a glide came of sorts.
How are we operating this thing?
Yeah, I'd say,
Gimbles. Yeah, I could do it too.
You know, with some of that too.
Actually, one of the most
physically demanding days where I was like,
okay, this is a real job.
I can feel like super exhausted after it.
Um,
was we filmed like this probably two minute scene,
um,
of these two Amish girls talking,
walking down a hill.
And I was selected as the gimbal operator,
which I don't know.
I'd like to tell myself it was because like,
I'm really good at it.
And Isaac likes my gimbal skills,
but it's also just like,
it's really hard.
And it would be way easier for him to watch me do it than to do it.
So,
um,
but we did like probably,
probably six takes
going down the hill where it's like
you have to like be trying the entire time
because it's like any little like
slip up is like kind of gonna throw the shot off
and it was like we were hoping
we could do it like use it all as one continuous take
so it was like kind of high pressure
but yeah so that was probably
two percent of the time
was a shot on a gimbal
then it was probably
probably like 85% on sticks
tripod
which means tripod
for those who don't know
and then there were
was just like there'd be like handheld shots for like the more exciting scenes which there
are like a ton of in this show but occasionally like someone would like the race scenes like like the
yeah yeah where they have a foot race and then it's like the most hype moment of that episode or
whatever yeah any sword fighting no sword fighting well you'll get your film when you watch the odyssey
it's mainly sword fighting i actually did watch yeah if you want and that was that was great
what was i going to say there was one someone does get tackled
at one point in the channel.
So we brought out the crash pad for that.
That was probably the most exciting moment of the whole summer, maybe.
Common Sense media might have something to say about that.
Yeah, be careful.
What's the difference in a crash pad and just like a mat?
I don't think there is one.
I think it just, I think a crash pad is just the cool sounding name.
Yeah. It's a cool sounding name.
Things like that where it's like, this is a thing that you've probably heard of,
but you call it by a different name on a film set.
So it makes it cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Boom, boom pole.
How big, how big, or maybe I should say how smaller cameras these days?
Like, like, I imagine, like, you know, that they've got to be smaller than they used to be, but I bet they're still pretty big.
Yeah, it depends on what you'd use.
Like, season one, we were actually, Isaac was like, let's just see what we can get away with filming on, like, little mirrorless cameras.
Like, we kind of, I mean, they were still rigged out where, like, the camera rig is probably like, yay big.
I don't know.
But then this.
year we shot with more like the stuff they film movies on okay um it's pretty boring like yeah
aria Alexa mini uh Ari got it and yeah uh I'm trying to think of I mean like the camera itself
is still it's never the camera that's actually that big the camera itself is like a square box
that big but then like the whole rig they probably weighed like 40 pounds or something so the handheld
so the handheld seems very rough sometimes yeah I bet truly yeah going downhill trying to
to like extend because you're having it out here.
I guess did you have it?
Well, okay. Yeah. That, that would, I should have just stuck with the story that the gimbal
scene was with that. That was with a smaller camera. Okay, okay. Um, but yeah, no, I mean,
definitely, even just like carrying them around from scene to scene, it would get like pretty
exhausting. So, I can't join in because there's a delay, but I'll just kind of like,
yes. I'm just going to keep doing this. Coffee, coffee, coffee.
Today to talk about a little something.
Coffee
Coffee
Called Main Street Roasters
I don't know who you are
when you walked in that door today
but I do know
who you're going to be when you leave this door today
every brother and sister is going to be caffeinated
every daughter, every son
is got to be buzzing
and that is only
from the good people and the good beans
at Mainstreetree Roasters.com
don't forget to take
promo code on your way out.
Of course it is the GRKC style.
It was Black Church.
Just like coffee.
I was thinking it was like Rub of Titans.
I don't know what it was.
It was a few different things throughout.
Yeah.
You know when they're in the gym that time?
He's like, you don't want a victory!
Go on victory!
Oh, that's good.
And then other thing I'd like to know, talk to us about the hair.
Yeah.
So it looks pretty bad, as I'm sure you've noticed.
And that's because it's been two months since I got a buzz cut in Jamaica.
And apparently-
You went Jamaican buzz.
Two months after, it's not the best phase for hair, for hair.
So this is what we're dealing with.
We spoke up a buzz cut, ma.
Oh, yeah, breda.
they yeah so it was kind of just like it was kind of my idea honestly i just i think i even had
written in my podcast notes like two weeks before i don't know if i ever brought it up but before i left
like i'm i've been throwing around the idea of getting a buzz cut just for fun just to check it off
the bucket list um you never got one i've never gotten one no oh i mean i probably got short haircuts
as a kid but it was never like yeah i'd never just gone full buzz um and so i convinced like six
other guys to do it pretty spontaneously, like one of the first nights we were there.
Kind of an offensive lineman kind of thing. Like, hey, let's all be together.
Yeah, we're all doing this. And it was like, and then you're like, yeah, we would, by the end of the
week, we would like see pictures of ourselves from the first week and be like, man, I forgot.
Like, these friends are good looking. Like, I do, like, they were handsome at some point.
But man, it was easy to forget. Automatically makes you look worse.
Probably 85% of people. Really? Yeah. That's funny because like, uh, once a year, I probably
think should I just buzz my head like yeah it's just so easy like it is yeah just buzz it and it's
you're done you're done you don't have to care about it I was a big buzz guy and uh in college yeah
I was a buzz guy and so my hair looks like yours a lot yeah yeah boot and yeah yeah um I get yeah that's like
the fuzzy wuzzy like you know kind of extension on it so it's like you got to either commit at this
point or buzz buzz again so yeah I don't I don't know what I'm gonna I'll take suggestions for what I
should do next because I'm like it's just going to keep growing. I don't know if I should. I'm thinking like,
you know, I want to do something different than like the just normal like fade it up again and like
do the normal stuff. I might maybe I'll just see how long it can grow and just do like a flow thing.
And it will look pretty bad probably, but I won't know. It'll be like the middle part where I
didn't really know how bad it looked till after. So, dude, the middle part was I don't think anybody
really thought it looked bad. I think everyone thought it looked dramatically different. I don't know. I
think that there's been lots of people since I since it's been like a while since it happened that
have been like man that was terrible really okay I so that's what you really thought when we were
hanging out it looked like you were somebody that you weren't that's true we were not used to seeing
you like that yeah but I think if you would have kept it long enough I think it would have been like
that's just you now like yeah I don't know I'm not I'm just telling you yeah from somebody who
thought whoa that looks bad at first yeah I don't think it really looked bad okay that's that's
That's my reasoning for saying I think it looked bad.
That's fair.
Like, imagine if Jake just tomorrow just decides to, yeah, put a middle part in his hair.
It would look bad.
Ridiculous.
Yeah, it would look really dumb.
What are you doing?
But then eventually it'd be like, that's Jake's hairstyle now.
Right.
You used to keep it for lunch.
Yeah.
So we'll see.
Bo's got really long hair right now.
And Catherine's like, we got to get his haircut.
And my, and I'm not disagreeing, but my thought is either like, let it grow and look wild and awesome.
and just like boyhood just absolutely everywhere as he runs around the, you know,
summertime yard or let him get a cool haircut.
Like let him get like a like something that he wouldn't be like shouldn't probably do as an
adult, but like he'd look all right now.
Like an Isaac haircut.
Dude.
If I did that, Catherine would.
I don't know what she would tell me to do.
But yeah.
I don't know.
Something cool.
Like I always, I always use like, it used to be the Patrick Mahoney.
Holmes. And now I'm saying like Forrest Frank, which I know, no, those, either of those guys don't even have that haircut anymore. But like, you know, something like where it's just like longer on top, like almost like a new age mullet kind of thing. Yeah. I don't know, but Catherine would never. So she just wants it to be a little bit shorter than it is now. And I'm like, all right, we can, we can do that. So yeah. So Tylin, what's next to you for you now? You're back in Kansas.
That's a great question. I'm like, I guess I'm just going back to figuring it out.
waiting for jobs and stuff like that.
I don't know.
I'm like, I kind of had that thought.
I was like, am I just going to be like, my siblings have been like,
you should go work at Chick-fil-A.
They're worried about you.
I guess I can.
I think I'll still, I'll be a working person.
It doesn't kind of fun though, because I could get Alice $250 if I, if she referred
me and I applied.
Oh, she working?
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah, Alice is.
And now Jesse's about to start.
So I was like, and even like Anna,
has been working at Starbucks, but she was like, maybe I should work at Chick-Fillet.
All four of us work at Chick-Pillet.
Honestly, that does sound kind of fun.
Yeah, I didn't know they were all working there.
That's a blast.
Yeah, so.
I don't know, I mean, whatever.
I don't want to offend anybody.
I don't want to work at any other fast food restaurant, but I would gladly work at Chick-fil-A.
Like, there's something completely.
Culvers?
Different about it.
No, I don't think I would.
I mean, of course, if I had to, yeah, I would work anywhere if I had to.
but like I would kind of voluntarily like in my life situation right now if someone were like
hey do you want to have a manager track at Chick-fil-A I would consider it that's kind of how I'm
you know what if what if I do it what if I interview what is that kind of fun it's wrong with that
you get a part-time job there it's just awesome like it doesn't feel yeah of course it's fast food
yeah of course it's bad for you food but it just doesn't feel wrong like taco bell would you know what
I mean like yeah you can't be a mandra taco bell and be like yeah I'm laying my head on my
pillar of night just feeling nice about myself.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't want to offend anybody, but.
I don't think anyone would be offended by that.
Timon, here's what I'm going to need you to do.
Okay.
For the last, I don't know, what, nine months since me moving to Phoenix has been a conversation.
I have felt this internal tension of like, man, I would love for timing to come down and help us out.
But this young man has so much potential.
I would hate to bring him away from his family to have him do what?
Silly pickleball videos?
No.
He's got so much more he could do in his life.
If you work for Chick-fil-A,
instead of moving to Phoenix,
I'm going to talk to your parents.
Yeah, no, that's pretty fair.
Yeah.
You're saying that that's not living up to his potential.
Is that what you mean?
It doesn't hold up to my standards for Tyman.
Yeah.
I would have tried harder to get you to move down here
if I known you were going to work at Chick-fil-A.
But those are my thoughts.
bucks for Alice.
I'll give Alice $20.
bucks.
Yeah, how long do you have to work there for her to get that?
I don't know.
I'd give Alice half of it.
Yeah.
It's getting, get out.
No, that's pretty funny.
I don't know.
Yeah, we'll figure it out with your time.
Yeah.
If any ghosties have anything to hire time for,
sounds like you're ready for it.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm in a very much just like,
we'll see what's next.
Because I'm like, I've kind of felt like maybe I,
don't need to move to Phoenix.
Like that's not like what is next for me.
But then also I'm like, well, I don't know what instead.
So we'll find out.
We'll see.
Any more college improv?
I hope so.
I once it kicks back up, I might as well if I'm still around.
Yeah.
Yeah, I should film it.
Absolutely sure.
That'd be fun.
Real quick time, what did you think of the Odyssey?
Brad, do you have plans to go see it?
No.
Really?
I was, I liked it.
I would say I was a little bit disappointed, but I, I was going to say, I like, don't even want to be asked about it because I feel like I'm like some kind of film snob or something like that.
I just didn't happen.
It felt like there were really cool scenes and it was like that, you know, it was shot really cool.
It was very well done in like all the objective ways.
But like I didn't find myself.
Like when I compare it to something like interstellar, that's Christopher Nolan, I like get so emotionally invested.
I like love the characters and like crying when you know this happens but the Odyssey I was just like I don't really find myself caring for the characters so I didn't like I don't know it didn't grip me in the emotional side of things like I was hoping it would so yeah I don't want to I want to watch it again though in Imax because I didn't get to go to see it in Imax and I was disappointed about that so huh see that's a difference in me and you we walked out to the theater and I told Rachel I said that was good I don't think I'll ever watch it again but that was something to do
For a night?
Yeah.
And you're like, yeah, it wasn't my favorite.
I need to go watch it again.
That is kind of funny.
I didn't even think about that.
Yeah, I mean,
maybe it's just because I feel like I was supposed to like it more
based on how everyone is like so many people are saying it's this masterpiece or whatever.
So I'm like, maybe I miss something.
I don't think I did, but maybe I'll just pay more attention this time.
Did you think about it the next day?
A little bit.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I think that's a little bit of a good sign, like with a good.
some cool things.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
I liked the scene
with the pigs.
It was kind of like...
You know that was all practical effects?
I thought so.
I was like watching.
I was like,
that looks kind of real.
It's crazy.
Yeah,
that was pretty cool.
I think to quote Steve Koop,
though,
in your heart,
you know.
Like,
you get done watching
the dark night
and you're like,
that was a good movie.
I don't even have to like think
or try to process
or analyze.
Like,
that's just a good movie.
You get to watching
Interstellar.
You just know.
You know it's a good movie.
Or like,
uh,
yeah.
Yeah. Matt Damon's, that's Ian Hathaway.
He did it. Yeah, if your voice gets a little high when you're
messifying it, it's like you didn't like that one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Matt David.
Yeah.
Cyclops was, it was big.
It was really big.
Yeah, I agree.
I'm like, I'm just a little, it's the same with, did you ever see Project Tell Mary?
No.
No, I didn't.
It was like that where I was like, he was thinking about making a joke.
Yeah.
Do it.
Go ahead.
Oh, well, no, I was just going to mention that ghosties, we had that ghosty meetup, and multiple
ghosties were like, what did you think of Project Homer?
And I was like, no, Timon watched it five times.
I see why you think I watched it, but Timon just kept watching over and over.
But that was a similar thing where I was like, are people's, either I'm crazy or people's
standards for movies are lower because I'm like, it was good.
It was like, yeah, that was good.
And I did see it three times.
That's mainly because I have AMCA list, not to.
Hey.
Right.
But like, I don't know.
I'm like I didn't.
Didn't wrap me up in the emotions.
Hmm.
And that's what I like about moving.
Didn't wrap you up and tuck you in and slap it.
Didn't even kiss me good night.
Yeah.
Do you feel,
do you feel disappointed when like almost disappointing your friends when you're like,
this is what you,
this is what you're like putting your flag in the ground for?
Like maybe.
I don't know.
Sometimes I'm like,
really?
What?
Yeah.
What am I missing?
Either I'm just saying myself or in my friends.
Yeah.
I felt that way.
My sister,
I feel like we have the same taste and everything.
music, comedy, you know, whatever.
She was like, you need to watch this Netflix documentary.
I was like, okay.
And then I think it had, I kind of lost track at how long I was into the documentary,
but like it looked like some credits came up.
And I was thinking, Caitlin lost her touch a little bit.
I don't know about this, but that was like part one.
And then there was like an entire like other documentary.
And I was like, oh, she still got it.
But yeah, briefly, though, a toxic love story.
The first half of it, I was like, huh, that was kind of predictable.
And, uh, because yeah, it does make,
question their recommendation.
Yeah, for sure.
Jake, let me show you something I just,
I brought in from my truck just now.
Say no to Airbnb and VRBO in our neighborhood.
How did you get it?
Catherine, I bring it in. Catherine goes,
Brad, you stole that out of their yard?
And I was like, no, I did not steal it.
I had to go over to the Airbnb this morning
to grab another microphone for time.
And that's where I was storing them in the garage there.
And that's also where my like,
cleaning supplies are stored.
And so my cleaner has the code.
And I see the sign in there.
Like with like like the with the metal stakes in, you know,
like to put down in the,
in the yard.
And so my,
I guess my reason,
my,
my rationale is like maybe somebody literally put one in my yard and my cleaner took
it out.
Oh.
I don't know.
She has,
I haven't,
I haven't asked her about it yet.
I don't know.
That's the only person that has that code,
though,
is the cleaner.
And oh wow that's a good theory they're coming after and did you also notice it says they they changed it because I told you like the sign the sign went away no it just got changed instead of vote no now it's say no this is hilarious just a great just a great screenshot in podcast history
here we are mystery guest say no air would be in our in our neighborhood our neighborhood that's our neighborhood um that's our neighborhood um
Um, anyway, I, yeah, I just.
Because we're past the like local elections.
So now it's like, well, we can't vote no.
Might as well say no.
That's the thing.
I don't think there was ever any election.
Oh, really?
I don't know, man.
I'm like, uh, anyway.
Yeah.
Every time I go over there, I just, I kind of hope that somebody's outside at this point to like,
at least give them a nice stare.
Really, though.
Or like, give me an opportunity to win you over.
I don't like you not knowing me.
I, yeah, I don't know which way I would go with it, to be
honest. I might go that way. I might go just a little more just like, just look at them for a
second. Not, not any longer than like three seconds, but just a nice little like, but that's the thing.
They might not even know I'm the owner. They might just think I'm another guest. I don't know.
Like, so I might have to just, maybe you know, you have a shirt that says buyer. I might actually
go on this as owner. Yeah. Landlord. Landlord. Anyway, saw that today. Also went over there today.
and I just have to put chemicals in the hot tub, you know, once a week or so.
And I go over there to open up the hot tub and the water is like completely drained out of it.
And I'm like, uh, that was a surprise.
No, I don't know what the story is.
Can that happen by itself?
No, not that I know of.
I honestly haven't looked into it, but I don't think so.
I think somebody had to like open up this drain cap and drain it all out.
And I'm like, why do they do that?
Hmm.
Who, whatever.
Anyway, so I don't know if that's all part of the,
you know, the vandals in the neighborhood, like, we're going to show them.
We're going to drain their hot tub.
So you just got to fill it up with a hose or something?
Like, that sucks.
That's got to take a while.
You know what?
That is what I did.
And you know what?
It didn't take that long.
I mean, I assumed three, four hours.
I bet it takes an hour and a half, if not less.
So, dude, it's crazy how much good water pressure, like, brightens my day.
Oh, dude.
you had awful water pressure, at least in that sink in Johnny.
And you just like, you get numb to it, you know, you get used to it.
And you're just like, this is, this is how everybody lives.
And then, yeah, I can't live without it now.
It's amazing.
You don't need like a brush or a scrubber in the sink.
I've got a fire hose coming out of it.
It's awesome.
It like literally makes me happy.
That's great.
It's nice.
Congrats.
Thanks.
Hey, let's talk a little.
bit just a little bit just a little bit Jake please not too much about cozy earth okay um
just a little bit not too much bed sheets you know taking your pillowcase with you no dang it
i should i'm packing for iowa tomorrow i need to remember the pillowcase pack pillowcase pack
if nothing else don't talk too much about it just talk a little bit chill chill chill chill
I got told by my cleaner today.
I'm not trying to complain about the cleaners all the time,
but that the towels were taking too long to dry
because they're too thick and fluffy,
aka they're from Cozy Earth and they're too high quality.
It's basically what she was saying.
Cozy Earth does, and I'm not going to say too much.
Their stuff does sometimes take longer too dry,
but I see it as like a direct correlation to quality.
Correct, dude.
That's how you get super.
host, bro.
SBI.
So be it.
Hey, SBI, man.
SBI.
So, they got, they got great
shirts.
Shear shirts.
Shear shirts.
Probably.
Shear shirts.
I think,
Chewker shirts.
Great pants.
Yeah, pajamas are amazing.
Towels, thick.
Bedsheets, soft.
Other stuff.
too. They gave us some of that they got
what was it that face, face balm,
face cream. Body butter.
Body butter. That's it. That's body butter.
That's body butter. So body it.
So body. Yeah. So go
to goesieret.com slash ghostrunners. Our promo
goes GRKC. It's 20% off.
It's the same promo that we were running
before Timon left. So now Timon's back.
And we're going to run it again. Yes. And confirm.
It's the same. It's the best.
I don't want to say, you got, I don't want to say too much.
you get let's not say too much just go coazardt.com slash g rkc don't say too much hey i went to text
i have a story i don't even know i don't this is one of those times where i'm like i don't think
i'm going to tell this story in a i'm not going to do it justice but i had i had a story i'll
just say the end of the story is we got back to katherine's parents house and me and brooks
are the part of the story and we were both just like just shell shocked not know what to say not
know what to do just like I need a minute like kind of thing okay so great song knock knock we're
about to get shell shock so um anyway I was in Texas so we went to Texas for Catherine's mom's 70th
birthday that was a lot of fun we surprised her um had a great time and uh then stayed in Texas for a few
more days because Saturday is when we were dropping the cousins off for cousin camp our kids were
going to cousin camp if you're potty trained you're going
So all the all the like there was eight kids getting dropped off. So anyway, we were up there in Sherman and I think I've told the go see about this a little bit. I'm trying to kind of get into this wholesaling, potentially wholesaling real estate where I like find deals and then sell them sell the deal to somebody else that might want to invest in it. Maybe I kind of mentioned that. Yes. And so I don't know, maybe like a month ago, I should find this. But maybe a month ago I found this listing near Catherine's parents house. Like I'm just. I'm just.
just looking at anywhere that I kind of know. So I'm looking in Branson. I'm looking in
Dallas. I'm looking in, I looked in Iowa random. I like looked in Waterloo. Like I was like, I don't
know, maybe something, you know, um, anywhere that I like kind of have any sort of familiarity with. I went
to Lebanon, Ohio, where Jensen's from. Anyway, so I found this spot in Sherman that kind of looked
promising. So I called this guy up. I had a, and I record the whole thing because I've been trying to like,
maybe I'll post these things eventually if I ever get successful on one. Um, I record this. I
I called this guy up and we talked for an hour on the phone.
This guy was so odd, dude.
I mean, I could tell you stories.
He was a pilot for American Airlines, but he was also a mechanic.
So he's one of only six guys.
I mean, he sounded like this old man, lonely, going through a divorce, living on this land,
had to want to tell me all about it.
I wanted me to go with Google Maps and like, you see this, you see that, you know,
whatever, all this different stuff.
And so I said, you know, my in-laws live two miles away from this place.
So next time I'm in Sherman, maybe I can come by and I can look at the house.
And this guy mentioned, this is a little foreshadding, he mentioned that he had PTSD from something that had something.
Yes, he also mentioned at one point, this is one of those times where I'm like scared he's going to find this podcast.
He also mentioned at one point he's like, you ever, ever see the movies?
I'm like impersonating him on the phone.
You ever see the movie Snowden?
Which I haven't.
Have you seen it?
No.
Okay.
I don't know much about the Edward Snowden thing.
Do you know Jake?
I mean, I know it's not great for him.
He's like, yeah, this big CIA whistleblower and is like just in hiding somewhere in Russia like the rest of his life.
Yeah, I don't know everything, but he's like, you know that there's a scene in there where he gets found out in this thing.
And well, my friend was one of the two people in real life in that scene.
And so it's kind of hard for me, you know, I think, you know, like he was just like talking about.
And to his credit, like, on the phone, we lost connection.
and lost service like three different times.
And that was his reason why.
It was like because of this.
And like it was hard for us to text pictures back.
Anyway, I was like, okay, this guy's odd to, yeah, to be, you know, light with it.
But like, he's divorced.
Oh, dude.
And so Brooks and I, anyway, we, we go, Brooks and I go, he had just bought a house for
that he's going to do for an Airbnb.
So we went and looked at that for a little bit.
And they were driving around kind of in that area.
And I was like, oh, dude, let's just like drive by this house.
um near near you know this guy's house anyway and so we drive by it and i'm like should i just call
this guy and just see what he's up to maybe what it's in biggest mistake of my life no uh
i call this guy and i'm like hey we'll call it well what's what's this guy's secret name because i'm not
i'm not revealed his real name on the podcast just in case bobby hey bobby um we're you know we're
we're close bye i was just curious and first of all he's like you
Brad, he had my name say, but he's like, Brad, you're going to have to remind me who you are.
I was like, oh, this guy's old, whatever.
Oh, we talked on the phone for a while.
My in-laws live close.
Just curious if we could check it out.
We're, you know, we're close by.
He's like, okay, how close is close?
I mean, it's close 20 minutes.
It's close.
I was like, and at the time, we were already like literally kind of staring at his property.
Pretty close.
I was like, two minutes.
I mean, we're pretty close.
I think we're right there, you know, whatever.
he's like all right come on by yeah and so we pull up to this house and we go and knock on the door
and you could see like he had like one of those like clear doors like like like a like large glass in
his door so i can kind of see inside and i could also already tell like this guy's kind of a hoarder
or something's going on in there and so i knock on the door first and don't hear anything or whatever
and i see inside and i just look at brooks i go we're about to make a memory type two fun
this is the most type two fun thing I've ever had in my entire life.
And so then I ring the doorbell and, you know, I go and like do that classic like step back to like the, you know, five steps back.
Yeah.
Like whatever.
Give him a little space.
He's getting off the elevator.
All of a sudden, dude, we just like, there was like this massive boom, like right into the door.
I was like, what was that?
And the first thing was a dog or something.
Like just ran into the door because you ring the doorbell?
I don't know.
I have no idea.
I don't know.
But I mean, it was like, and what it was was he chucked a full water bottle at the door.
And then so that's already like kind of, you know, talk about shell shock.
Like what, you know, and he comes downstairs, dude, and this is my picture of this guy.
I'm going to guess he's around 60 years old.
Large man, my size or so.
shirt off, shirtless,
jean shorts down below his knees.
Oh.
Bucky's boxers up over his belly button.
His name's not Bobby anymore.
And a belt that's undone.
Oh, he's wearing a belt?
Well, yeah, kind of wearing a belt.
It's on him.
So he's walking down the stairs.
And immediately I was like, oh, I'm not buying this guy.
Like, we could get out of here, right?
now. And I mean, immediately he's like, he's like really just bothered. Like you can just tell he
he's like he didn't say anything. He's like he just said you guys are I'll censor everything of
course, but he's like, you guys are giving me the creeps. Like he's like I have PTSD and you guys are
freaking me out right now. He's like, he's like, do you guys have anything electronic on you?
And we're like, uh, we got our phones. He's like you're going to take all your electronics off.
I'm talking your watches. I'm talking your keys. And
I mean, Brooks has these rayban sunglasses around his neck.
He's like, are those the ray bands with cameras in him?
And he's like, no, sir.
He's like, I'm going to have to see him.
And he's like, it's like, he's like, I'm, I'm more strict than TSA.
I'm more strict than an airport in here.
And I'm like, okay.
So like literally like we go in.
For whatever reason, not even for whatever reason.
Honestly, like out of fear, we're like complying with everything this guy's saying.
Like, sure.
Yeah.
He's like, I'm gonna, we both had hats on.
He's like, you know, I have to take your hats off.
I need to see what's inside your hats.
He was like, he was like, does that, you know, does your car have a keypad on it?
And I was like, no.
You know, all these different.
He's like, what else is in your pockets?
I go nothing.
And then I pull out, I had like a wrapper, like a candy wrapper and like a bent up straw.
He's like, if I throw this at your face, is it nothing?
And I'm like, whatever.
So this guy's doing.
I could, I mean, I'm not even going to go into all the details, but he's doing all these weird things, all this like, almost like social experiments. Like talking about-
Understand what PTSD is. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't need to be fair. I don't know that's the thing. Like I left. I'm wanting to ask questions, but I'm like, I also don't want to be like. No, insensitive. Insensitive. I left like, yeah, feeling. Yeah, I've, I, yeah, I've been praying for him because I'm just like, I don't know. This guy is like beyond messed up. Like, it's not like he's like, oh, he's just a mad person. It's like, no, something, something's wrong with him.
Like something's just, and he mentioned, he's like, I've been off my meds, you know,
or I didn't, I haven't taken my meds today.
And so he goes back and forth.
My meds are giving me the creeps.
Yeah, you guys are giving me the creeps.
I'm going to be honest.
Like, you guys just showed up at my door.
And we tried to stop me and be like, well, no, no, let's, let's find another time.
We'll come back.
And he's like, well, now if you leave, you know, it was almost like, you know, we're, we're cooked either way.
Like, it's like, if we, he's like, well, if you leave too soon, then I'm going to be freaked out if you leave.
It's like, well, what do you want to do?
And so.
So did you end up putting your phone in your car?
Yes.
Yes.
Oh, see, this is like a horror movie where everyone watching the movie is saying the main character,
don't put your phone to the car.
That's how he's going to trap you there.
I know.
I'm like, this is like, bro, trying to make it the cleanest crime.
Well, he, so we put all this stuff in the car, but Brooks had his fob, key fob on him still.
And so.
Weapon.
He's like, he's like, is that a key fob?
Is that thing electronic?
And Brooks is like, I mean, I guess, yeah.
And he's like, do you have any idea what they could do with that?
thing. I mean, it's like one of those, like, this guy is so beyond paranoid. He's like, he's like,
hold on to that. I'll show you when we get inside. And, and at that point, Brooks,
Brooks said later, he's like, I knew immediately, I'm not going inside that house. Like, we're not
going in there. We, uh, so spoiler we, you know, he keeps trying to like have all these random.
I mean, talk about all this, like biology stuff, then talk about water tables and talked about this and
that and you're like still standing on the front porch and he's doing the we're staying in the front driveway
the whole time pretty much uh we're like the social experiments he was like doing okay so one of the
ones he did um was he kept like squeezing brooks well okay so first of all he was like do you have metal
on your sunglasses uh on the rim of your sunglasses he's like you know that metal goes straight into
your brain essentially or something like that and he talks about he's like you know there's iron and
blood. And so it's magnetic. You don't think those batteries are messing up XYZ magnetic.
And so he starts like pump, like he starts like grabbing Brooks's, I don't know.
Yeah, he starts grabbing Brooks's arm right here and like being like, how much PSI do you think,
you know, your heart has. And he keeps doing this over and over and over again. And Brooks,
who has been, was like so calm and like kind. But the whole time I'm like just in my head,
I was like, I'm ready to fight this 60-year-old man if I have to.
He becomes, I'm ready to punch him right in the Buckeys.
Anyway, oh, dude.
Yeah, right in the beaver nuggets.
And so he's like, he's like dirty.
I'll get you in the Beaver Nuggets.
He's like, he's like doing all this stuff.
And I'm like, this guy is kind of wild.
And then he does the same thing over to me.
And he goes, now you see what I just did right there?
Like eventually after a five-minute talk about all this heart pumping.
And what's the PSI of, uh,
You know, the guy that inflated those, deflated the footballs.
What was his PSI on the footballs?
And, you know, and basically the whole time, I think all he was trying to do is like, see how
we'd react, see how much knowledge we had about certain things.
Because I kept silent the whole time because I was like, I don't know any of the answers.
And he was giving Brooks a hard time for guessing.
He's like, why did you guess that?
Why did you?
And so later on, he was like, now you see, I was squeezing on your arms like that
to see how strong you guys were.
You guys are both pretty strong.
Now you see how I did that.
I was squeezing on your arms.
And you know what?
he's telling me all this stuff.
I know how educated he is.
This guy over here has been quiet.
He's smart.
He's smart.
He's not saying anything.
I was like,
I'm not saying anything because I don't know where you're,
the F you're talking about.
I'm like,
I'm dumb, dude.

Start your build at Chevrolet.ca.
Don't worry about it.
Don't worry about me, man.
You see how he didn't answer any of my questions about reservoirs in the Middle East?
It's because he's smart.
You're like, dude, I don't know what's going on.
I don't know what's happening here.
So he did that.
At one point, dude, he did like literally threatened to, he's like, because he said he was like talking about this key.
And he's like, I mean, you guys don't have anything else in your pockets.
If you have anything in your pocket, he like looked me straight in the eyes.
He's like, I'm not afraid to put a, or what do you put?
He's saying, I'm not afraid to put a bullet through your chest if I go inside and there's something in your pocket.
And I'm like, brother, I'm ready to get out of here.
This is not, no, no part of this is worth it in any way.
I don't know what's going on right now.
Yeah, how bad does this guy think you want his house?
He's not being very welcoming.
A fair question that then eventually got me in a little bit of trouble.
I, okay.
I, uh, so then we're walking around back and he's saying something about water tables.
He's got these weird trenches throughout the property and, and Brooks is trying to divert all
the conversation towards the property.
And I'm like, what's this now?
Now, how far back does your land go?
You know, all this different stuff.
And this guy is just like, he, he's like, well, you know, once we get, once we get in my car, I'll show you.
I'll show you.
And I, when he said, once we get in the car, I go, I go, you know what?
I don't think we, we don't, he's like, he's like, I think he's like, once you get in the car and you stay here an hour, you'll see a little bit more or something.
And I was like, you spend the night and I make breakfast for him in the morning, you'll see.
Yeah, once I tie you up and, you know, gas.
I got me real quick, you understand.
And so that's when I go, oh, you know what?
Actually, we got to get home pretty soon.
You know, I got four kids and my wife's at home.
We're having dinner soon.
So I don't think we can stay too long.
And he goes, so you're telling me, you want to buy my house for a million dollars
and you're not willing to listen to the guy who probably knows more about this house than anybody.
And you said you want to go home.
And that's when that's when the Brad that's like, should I have done this, got out a little bit.
Because I was being pretty quiet the whole time.
And I did the thing that I do to Catherine, which is the worst thing in the world when we have arguments,
where I just basically, like, litigate her and lawyer her of like, no, I didn't, I didn't say I wanted to go home.
He's like, you said, you said you didn't have that much time and that you need to leave soon.
I said, but I didn't say I wanted to go home.
You're assuming I wanted.
And we just started fighting about this back and forth for a good two minutes.
He's like, well, I'm just assuming I can connect the dots here.
You said you wanted to go home.
You said you didn't want to go here.
And I'm like, hey, but I didn't say.
I wanted to go home.
Whatever.
Back and forth.
And Brooks was like, dude, at that point, I just thought, maybe I should just run and let
Brad deal with this.
Yeah, that's what I would have done.
I don't know why.
I was just getting fired up by this guy.
Like, well, who is this guy think he is?
Anyway.
So anyway, I was like, let's just check this thing out.
You know, maybe we can come back another time.
My wife might want to look at it.
I'm like, yeah, right.
So we go to the backyard.
And he's got, of course, he's got cameras around the whole premises.
He does this weird thing where he, like, shows us the soil and has a,
he's like, touch that soil right there.
And, you know, Brooks is bending down touching the soil.
He's like, what does that feel like to you?
I'm like, I'm not filled the soil, dude.
He's like, Brooks is like, it's wet.
Like, yeah, exactly.
It's been 115 degrees here.
Why is that soil wet?
And Brooks is like, maybe because there's no gutters right there on the roof and the
water's coming down right there and it's making it wet.
He's like, well, why?
I don't understand.
It's been, huh?
And Brooks is like, are you saying it's because this thing's leaking right here?
And the guy just goes, no, it's because of the roof.
You're right.
another experiment kind of thing.
It was so wild.
Catherine's listening right now.
Is there anything else I'm missing that you want me to say?
Oh, yeah.
He was for a while.
He was holding on to Brooks's keys.
Like saying, like, we'll get this, you know.
And Brooks is like, you know what?
Let me hold on to it and I'll give it back to you when we get inside.
Like, yeah.
Yeah.
Brooks was like, yeah, he couldn't find it.
He's like, maybe I should just have another spare at home or something.
And this guy's divorced?
He's getting divorced.
Yes.
Port, I know, I know.
And so, anyway, so then we go to the backyard.
And he shows us this seller, I believe is what they call it in the South, you know, like
a storm shelter.
And he's like, this thing, I got the recipe for this thing from the Air Force.
This thing is rated for 8,000 PSI or something like that to withstand an atomic bomb.
Like this thing can withstand an atomic bomb.
And Brooks jokingly was thinking in his head like, you know, I thought about saying, well,
you know if anybody if anything happens i know where i'm coming but he's like i'm not saying that to
him um but we're like okay um so he's like telling us all about that and then eventually it was just
like all right we got to go we got to yeah we got to get out of here we'll come back sometime you know
and see the inside and he's like saying how bad the inside is whatever all these different stuff
um so we go to leave i'm trying to remember what else uh oh yeah at one point so we're like
walking on the side of the house towards the backyard and brooks does like this thing i'm like who
who are we the navy seals brooks just goes like like like he i think he was trying to signal
watch like time two minutes and i need two watches brooks what are you saying why do you need
two watches for what is that what's that for like is there there's two camera like watch two
because his our watches were off we had to put all our electronics away watch with both eyes
two i two and he was like no i was saying we're getting the f out of here in two minutes that's
what you said. I was like, okay, how was I supposed to know that, dude? So anyway, we go to leave.
And this is where it's like, kind of like, yeah, one of those times I was like, I don't know what to do here, man.
So he's like, I don't know what he said or how this even came up, but he's like, you know, when the, when the crap hits the fan, what are you going to do?
And I was like, what do you talk?
Get back on the horse. I don't know. What's the right? I go, what are you talking about? He's like, what, or I said, what do you mean? He goes, what do you think of me?
I'm like, I don't know.
Water table?
Yeah.
He's like, what are you going to do?
I don't know what you're talking about.
And in that moment, I had the thought, I should share the gospel with this guy.
I was like, I was like, I would probably pray.
It was my, in my head, that's why I was, I was like, not right now.
This isn't, I got to, I got to protect my life right now.
I don't know.
He made the bullet thread earlier.
Yeah.
So this is, this is hilarious.
So then he goes, so Brooks, Brooks entertains all these.
questions like which i love brooks for he's like well what's the scenario is it nuclear is it some
type of local militia brooks is like i'll go to the grocery store get all the food he's like those
things are going to get looted he's like he's like he's like you got zombies around what are you
going to do what are you going to do uh and brooks like i guess i would board up my house he's like
bored up your house with what would home depot is going to be looted he's like that's the whole
thing like that's the whole part of the purge did you not watch the purge oh my god he's like laughing
he's like, here's what you do.
And this is where he's like starting to get a little friendly with this.
I was like, is this?
And he goes, you turn on your sprinklers.
They'll never want to get wet.
We're like, oh, of course.
Oh, the sprinkler loophole.
So Brooks gets in the car.
I'm going to get in the driver's seat.
And we're like, we give him a handshake, whatever.
Good to meet you, man.
Yeah, we'll be in touch, whatever.
And he comes and gives me this sweaty, shirtless hug kind of thing.
and like it kind of like kind of like a handshay hug one of those kind of deals and uh and then he was like
looking really really close in the face he's like now you see what i just did right there i know exactly
where you keep your wallet and i go what you keep your wall in your front left pocket you reach for
it when i went and hugged you i was like i first of all i don't that's not right you know and second
of all i think i just was reaching for my inner like scared parts that i reproduced with i was kind of scared of
And so anyway, it was just like that.
And so we get in the van.
We're like, all right, man.
Good to see you, Bobby.
And we're driving away.
And Brooks, Brooks goes, drive as slow as you can out of here and then drive as fast as you can.
And it was so funny because there was, you know, we're just like, dude, what?
We're just laughing out of like fear and like what happened.
Oh my gosh.
That was wild.
I can't believe, you know, we had no idea we were going to even.
talked to this guy.
All of a sudden,
we had this crazy experience for like,
I don't know,
45 minutes,
30 minutes,
whatever it was.
And there was one other house,
like, on the way home,
I was like that I was interested in like,
driving by.
And I was like,
no, is that house on this road or that road?
And Brooks goes,
I don't care where that house is.
Just get me home.
Yeah,
I'm not going.
He's like,
I need to get to the beer fridge right now.
Like,
he's like,
shell shot.
I was just like,
it was,
it was unlike any,
it was the most type too fun I've ever had in my life.
Because like,
we had so much fun recalling it to that now it's an amazing story i texted them yesterday i was
like just thought about it again yeah really thankful that you were there with me man that's a great
memory that does help big time that's so great you had someone else there just just absolutely wild
never experienced anything like it i don't hope to experience that again but yeah i'm like i didn't
know how to treat this guy because it was it was like beyond like we were being the nicest people ever
to him and he was still like very malicious towards us i was like i don't know
I don't know what you want from me, but anyway.
I can't think of Wayne,
but I feel like I've been Brooks in that scenario before where I'm like,
I'm trying to entertain this crazy old guy as much as I can.
And it's still not working.
Like he doesn't like that I'm playing along.
So I guess I'll just shut up.
Oh, man.
Well, there was one time, dude.
So he talked about how like, you know, these cameras,
he mentioned,
he made it sound like he was like in some kind of something,
like CIA or special.
He was definitely armed forces of some sort.
He's like,
these cameras, they can be driving 50 miles or you can be driving 50 miles an hour down the highway
and they can read the stitches on that car seat in your car right now. And he's like, that was 10 years ago
when I saw that technology. So I don't know what they can do now. And at one point he did the thing
where he was talking outside and he like put his hand on his mouth to like cover up his mouth on
something. I was like, what in the world? Like this guy was beyond paranoid. And you always wonder when
it's like people that have seen some stuff.
It's like maybe there's validity to the whole thing.
Like maybe this guy knows way more than we do.
Maybe that's why he's messed up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway, it was just, yeah, neither the say it was wild.
What's the military needs stitches on a car seat for?
Yeah, how are they, how do they, what would they do with that information?
Yeah.
Anyway, so it was wild.
Yeah, there was more to it that like random little things that he did.
but it was just right away.
I was like, whoops, shouldn't have done this
when he came out in the Buckees, the Buckees box with the jeed shorts.
Oh, man.
Wow.
So since then, you followed up, you think you're going to do the deal.
What the, you joke about that, dude, the twisted, whatever the word is,
the crazy side of me is like, I might just lowball that heck out of him
and just see what he says.
But also it's like,
Catherine would be like,
no,
you're not,
you're not going to do that.
There's no chance.
We're not working with this guy.
Conduct business virtually through like a middleman.
That way you don't have to like see him or talk to him ever again.
Yeah.
Dang.
It was wild.
So it was just one of those like,
yeah,
you see it in the movies like these guys that live out in the middle of nowhere.
Yeah.
Don't come next,
you know,
in my house.
You know,
it's like,
oh,
those guys are real.
Yeah.
They wrote those characters for a reason.
Like, I can't believe, I'm trying to think if I would have also just, like, put away all my
devices and stuff like that.
Like, it's like, you know, I think, oh, like, why would you actually do what this guy's
saying?
But I'm like, I probably would too.
I probably would just be like, all right.
I mean, I assume you know better for some reason.
I don't know.
I don't know.
And he also said, like, you know, I'm going through a divorce and what if you come in and
you take a gold bar out of here?
He's like, not that I have any gold bars.
And later on, Brooks and I were like, that dude's definitely got some gold bars in there.
Like, uh, he's like, but, you know, then all of a sudden, I'm not, you know, I think it's like his wife will claim that he has more things than he does and you can't prove out.
I don't know.
It's like, oh, whatever, man.
So.
That's how they get you.
I forgot that, um, I'm sorry, go ahead.
No, you go ahead.
I was just going to, I'll go ahead.
Say no.
so some things you want to say no to, other things you want to say yes.
Yep. Yep.
Say no to Airbnbs and VRBOs in our neighborhood.
Say yes to Good ranchers.
Good ranchers is American meat delivered.
It supports our American farmers.
And it's one of the best things that you could ever put in your mouth.
It's not going to make you wish that you had more toilet paper in a Jamaican bathroom.
It's, dang it, it's going to just be nothing but good.
No added antibiotics.
Yes, say no to added hormones, right, Tyman?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Say no.
Say no to added hormones.
Say no.
Say no to international suppliers of meat.
Right.
Right, Simon?
They know.
But say yes to Good Ranchers.

com,
GRKC's promo code.
Welcome to the table.
I need to let me,
somebody filibuster for a second.
I do want to send you
this Zillow listing
that this guy posted
about this thing.
Do you think he typed in
the listing himself,
like the description?
You have no idea
how unbelievably
like it's like incoherent.
I've never seen a listing like this and that's what I'm going to figure out.
It's how to find it real quick.
But it's going to take me just a second.
But yeah,
I've never like it's unbelievably bad to the point where it's like we should probably put
not his address.
Do not put his address.
Don't put anything like that.
But we got to put some of this in there because it's like, oh my gosh.
I'm just like going to Google.
What's the point of buying a gold bar?
I don't really understand the point of gold.
It's like for fiction or something.
I don't know you were allowed to do it.
I thought that was just like what, like outlaws in the West were like.
Yeah, like outlaws and leprechauns.
There's the only two people I know who own gold.
Only people with access to gold bars.
I didn't know that all it took was bucket underwear.
People buy gold bars primarily to protect against inflation.
So.
I'm guessing maybe the price of gold can go.
I feel like the price of you can change.
Yeah. Gold moves independently of stocks and bonds, which helps offset market volatility.
Interesting.
I would prefer it to work with stocks and bonds. Can I get gold?
Gold tends to retain its purchasing power when paper currency loses value.
Oh, this is like an apocalyptic purchase.
If this all goes to crap, I've got my gold.
Oh, yeah. He definitely has gold.
Unlike digital or paper, physical gold could be held in your hands.
Okay, well, that I knew.
I didn't have to Google.
I didn't have to Google.
Just look at this link.
I'm more confused than I was before about the gold bars.
Okay, this is, oh, amazing pictures.
Dude.
It looks like they were taken, like, in the 90s.
Yeah, like the digital camera.
Photo, July, 2006.
But they had digital cameras back then.
This looks like it was shot on film.
It looks like it was like, oh, this is an excerpt from the newspaper in 2006.
Yeah.
What is this narrow vertical outhouse-looking thing up back with the white picket fence on the terrace?
The third picture is like this rock-climbing wall kind of thing.
It's fun.
He's like, it's like a summer camp for kids.
Your kids would love it out here.
Buddy, I don't want to be anywhere near anything.
And if they get onry, just turn the sprinklers on.
I mean, look at how bad these pictures are.
Look at how unbelievable.
Like, this guy thinks that this is a good.
This guy, you thought it was a good one.
You wanted to buy it.
Yeah, I was interested in it.
If these pictures are so bad, like, that means no one else is interested in this thing.
I was like, diamond in the rough.
I like the picture of this person.
I mean, what is this?
Parra skiing?
I've never seen this sport.
Correct.
What is there?
Yeah, there's a big, like tiny little lake in the back, basically, of this house.
Big enough for whatever this is, I guess.
He's also got an airport that is called something that I'm not going to say on this podcast,
just in case we get a bullet through the chest for it.
But this is awesome.
Isn't this unbelievable?
Like, have you ever, like the fifth photo on here is like a picture that's like halfway, like,
a picture of this couch.
And then you just see the ceiling and some like a mediocre window.
Dude, there's the last pictures like a worst picture I've ever seen.
The last picture.
sure it's just like a map just like a hand drawn map is like a wrinkled up like piece of paper like
blueprint kind of here's the dam here's the runway here he's got a screenshot yeah of like where it is on
google maps he's got this uh helicopter i like the helicopter picture that's what am i supposed to do with that
you know like anyway i mean this is a sweet property that's what i was like maybe there's something
in here and he's going to sell it for crazy cheap because it probably needs a ton of work.
Yeah.
Man.
What is this?
Am I looking at a rain gauge that he took a picture of?
What is the?
I don't know what that is.
I don't know what that is.
It's like the whole thing.
Three inches out of the ground or something.
Or is that like those are feet and those are feet.
Yeah.
I don't know what that's supposed to represent.
Oh, it says bottom is top of grates, top of T-post on boat lift, bottom of open drain.
Oh.
You got it now?
I like that he took a screenshot of this estimate and uploaded it to Zillow.
Oh, man.
I mean, it's just also, yeah, one of the screenshots is just a lock screen photo.
Like there's the, there's the flashlight and the camera in the bottom.
So yeah, I kind of, I mean, yeah, you're right.
Like, I should have known a little bit more what I was getting myself into.
But I just thought this guy's an old man.
Yeah.
Like it could have been like the sweetest old couple.
ever selling their home and
anyway
just just a wild
moment in time
I'm reading their description now
dude there he goes talking about PSI
he loves PSI
he said some about PSI in this description
oh yeah in ground 6,000 PSI
concrete tornado shelter
6,000 I said 8000 I'm sorry
Drive through garage that's kind of cool
that's what I'm saying
reach back out to this guy
getting this for the right prize brother yeah i'm i'm thinking about making a competitive offer myself
it doesn't even say how big anything like it doesn't like it's on like 20 acres and it says 16
acres i don't know anyway upstairs three large rooms for the sewing room that's nice yeah that's the
other thing he made it sound like maybe there's six total rooms he's like the upstairs isn't finished
so there's three rooms downstairs and three rooms upstairs but i'm like hey
There's something here?
It's got a snow sledding hill.
In Texas.
Yeah.
Snow's a lot there.
Wait, this house is off market.
How'd you even find this?
It was on market and it just went off like a couple days ago.
Oh.
So I'm sure he was suspicious of that too.
He's giving him the creeps.
Oh, my gosh.
Anyway.
This is awesome.
I love this listing.
This is so.
A little bit more off the podcast too, but anyway, it was something.
Thank you.
Yeah,
I'm glad I showed you the listing
because that helps give you a little more context
the whole,
like you've never seen a listing like that on Zillow.
Like even like for sale by owners
are like,
at least they have some idea of how to take a picture.
Might not be a great looking picture,
but yeah,
I mean,
sorry, timing,
you're going to have to probably put all this in
to make it make sense.
But the first picture
and the fourth picture
legitimately look like
nice pictures.
They look like a picture you're shown
of like this was like Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln's like childhood home. This is, you know, Edgerton, Kentucky, or like, this is the White House in the 1910s.
Like, truly, it's like that like style of photography.
Yeah. Yeah, it looks like a painting almost of a picture. Oh. Huh. Yeah, I don't know.
Pretty sweet. I bet in 2006 it was a, it was a thing to behold.
Dang. I'm sure. When he keeps his gold bars.
Dude, what a story. That's great.
I mean, that's a lifetime achievement story.
You could tell that forever.
That's amazing.
I think for too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we're going to remember different details of different times and laugh about that versus this, whatever.
But yeah.
Anyway, so funny.
So all I just say, Jake, do you have anything you want to say?
We got, yeah.
You guys both really brought it today.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
So much.
I could talk.
about the weather. Is that, is that, is that kind of up to the caliber of what you guys were talking about?
Sure, but we're breaking records down here already. Wow. It's so hot. It's like a privilege to
experience it. Oh, good. Yeah. Like that really is how I feel. It's like there's a part of me that
finds it hilarious how hot it is. So it's like hot even for Arizona standards. Yeah. Like we broke some
sort of like 50 year old record a couple days ago. Oh, wow. And what, what are what are the numbers?
here. I think one record
was just like hottest
day in July 23rd
history. It got up to 118.
And then the other record I saw
was hottest temperature
at 4 a.m. in so
many years. It was like 100 degrees at 4 a.m.
And I guess it's never
done that before. Wow.
Yeah. The sun is completely gone
and it's still 100 degrees.
That's crazy.
Does it, here's a stupid question.
Permission for a stupid question, Jake.
I'm going to put that.
I'm not from Arizona, so I don't know the answer.
Let's say it's 95 degrees in Arizona, and you look at your map or your weather app, does it ever say feels like, and it says less than 95?
Like, is that ever possible?
No, but at most of the time, when I first moved here, the first 30 days I was here, it was great.
There was no clouds, and it's just the same, like, oven temperature, no wind, just hot, 8% humidity.
And that was like, it's 97, feels like 98.
Okay.
That's what I was used to seeing.
Yeah.
And now it's humid.
Oh, it is humid plus.
So that's what's making it feel like, it feels like you're on another planet.
It's like I walk outside.
I have nothing to do outside.
And I'll, I'll check my phone.
It says heat index 125.
And I'll go, I have to get outside.
Like, I have to feel this.
This is amazing.
Something physically, like, physics have to be different in 125.
Yeah.
So I really do.
Cars got to have, like the paint has to do something different.
in 125.
That's what I think too.
I'm like,
yeah,
some of these things
don't survive out here.
Like,
even like animals.
I'm like,
can they be out in this?
I don't know.
Right.
Tell us all the polls.
I don't know.
That's why you got chihuahuas
and not like,
yeah,
big old like Pyrenees.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well,
we went to Dallas,
you know,
and we got there,
and I think the day we got there,
it was like feels like
117 or something like that.
Yeah.
And it was unbelievable.
It was like,
the wind made it hotter.
Yeah.
It was like,
what in the world is this?
I couldn't yeah whatever it's hot everywhere but 125 is unreal yeah I've seen it like mid 120
heat index this whole week so it's kind of like like I said it's like kind of entertaining it's like
I never thought I would experience this this is I can't believe this is earth's atmosphere this
is this is impressive has it I mean Rachel is on record as being I prefer hot over cold I don't
put on my AC all the time you know like does
Has it gotten to her yet or is she still like totally fine?
I haven't heard a complaint yet.
I will say I dropped her off at the airport.
She's back in Iowa and I'm flying there in two days.
She left right before we started breaking records.
So she thinks when she gets back.
But I am looking forward to little Iowa weather.
80s.
I'm just like 18 units.
I don't know.
That even like in my head is like, holy cow.
Like how do you keep up or do you just like,
I mean, are you keeping your AC at high 70s, low 80s kind of thing?
Yeah, I think I've been keeping it like 75, 76.
Yeah, so it's probably running a lot.
Still has to run quite a bit, but.
Wild, dude.
Anyway, that's the weather.
And got to hang out in it outside because there was that Arizona ghosty hangout a few nights ago.
Right.
Yes, I saw that.
It was awesome.
It was great.
The place they did it at was,
it's kind of like chicken and pickle
but it's like newer
nicer better
and a lot of different ways I felt like
it's just like cool bigger it was awesome
yeah um
it's a little warm they had misters though
we had misters we were fine and it really was great
I think it was only supposed to be from six to eight
and I didn't leave till 930
probably 15 20
ghosties showed up
a lot of women
sure a couple guys in there though
correct me
if I'm wrong, but I think our demographics are just like pretty overwhelmingly women, like 65%, something like that.
I think between 60 and 70 sounds right.
Yeah, that would be 65, I think.
So, or so.
Or so.
I mean, I could do the math.
60 plus 70 divided by two.
Copy.
Yeah.
Oh, that was the film sent me.
Copy that.
Sorry, guys.
Indindated in the culture.
Right.
Problem sticks.
Her best.
Sticks.
But yeah, it was great.
right um let's see met a met a guy who makes phone cases for the military gave me a phone case
oh um that's fun binge uh i i was like where do you live i was like oh we have a pickupball turn with
you tomorrow i was like swing by he swung by got to see him again yesterday he named his wife
and his kid so yeah and then um yeah just i probably knew half of them already met another good
portion.
Ninju, who we talked about.
She was the blind Indian ghosty who emailed in.
We have so many of those.
Yeah, I'm trying to think how to distinguish it.
I don't know.
No, I remember Matthew, Matthew.
Yes, Ninja Matthew.
Of course.
Yeah, thank you.
I was like, blind Indian ghosty named Ninju.
Yeah.
You got to meet her.
Yeah, she was great.
Her and her sister were there.
And yeah, really had a good time.
Because, like, you know, we're chatting and we're talking.
And I don't know, probably like four months.
minutes in, I was just like, so blindness. And I was like, I just, I, it came out of me because it has to. And
anyway, I just like berated her with questions about being blind for like 10 minutes probably. And I was
like, actually, I'm sorry, we can, we can stop talking about your blindness. And she was like,
you know what? People see a walking stick and they are like so nervous to ask. She's like,
no one ever talks to me about it. This is so great. I love that you're curious about it. I go,
great. I'm about to get into the Helen Keller part of the questioning. So I'm glad you're still
okay with this. What else do you learn about it? Well, I was curious, like, when she became blind,
it was at age of 10 via a brain tumor. Left eye is completely blind. Right eye is very fuzzy.
She's like, even like, I'm this far away from you. I know that you're wearing a hat and I recognize
your voice, but I wouldn't even be positive. It was you. But she was like,
she's like yeah I use a walking stick
if I'm in a new place kind of for me
but also for like
for other people to know that like
I'm not truly aware
of my surroundings
she's like and I usually use my sister
she's kind of my eyes and she'll kind of help walk me
around
and it kind of reminded me
you know Nate Bargazzi I've seen his
show now twice
and he does a joke about how his parents
are getting older and how like
he'll start to lead them around
Or like he's just like walking in front of them, but he has to warn them if the flooring is different.
Like we got carpet coming up.
We got carpet.
It adds up hardwood.
And she was like, that's kind of what my sister has to do too.
So anyway, yeah, it was really interesting.
You talked about Braille.
I have never met anyone who knows Braille.
And like it took six months just learning the alphabet, another year to like learn the language after that.
Wow.
I was like, how many fingers we go on?
We go on one?
We go in two.
She said I used three
I said, whoa
And then she said that's
Pretty standard
Can she do any three though?
Good question
I would assume
You'd just train
The same three fingers to feel
And it's like some sort of finger
coordination
I'm like
How to yeah
That's pretty cool
I haven't actually thought about Braille that much
Since I was like 10
I forgot about
I was thinking about a lot too
She's like I think
Like being blind
helps you read birth she's like my sister wanted to like learn bro with me but she would like look at
the dots and then try to like feel and she's like you can't look at the dots i don't think that
that seems like one of those things that's so hard that unless you have to do it you'll never be able to
honestly that's so hard yeah yeah that sounds amazingly difficult and so it's like well i can just
look at the dots you know yeah huh that's pretty cool but anyway a lot of good conversations were had
i mean met a guy he's got a really cool job in fact i was like
You know who like your job is Isaac McDonald?
He works in the golf industry for a golf club maker, Ping.
Oh, that was a cool.
Dang, dude.
He has a really cool job.
Yeah.
Yeah, he works at a Phoenix Chick-fil-A.
It is so sick.
You got to talk to him?
What are the day of misters there?
Ooh.
But he, he's like, so I work in the, in this, in the semi-truck.
That's like the club, you know, like the, um,
the mobile club fitter or whatever i was like oh yeah i think i've seen that i was like so you go to just
like you travel around and take the semi like the semi then like opens up and it's like got all these
clubs and it's like a little santa's workshop yeah and i thought maybe he would just go to country
clubs and it's like it's it's ping day at st andrew's golf course you know come try out
because like no we only go to the pro tournaments and we just work with like our
sponsored pro players like if they need anything just like it needs to be
be re-gripped, hey, my seven iron is like a half an angle off. They just like tinker with like high
level golfers. And I was like, that sounds like a dream job for Isaac. You would love that. No pressure.
Yeah. Yeah. That's amazing. Okay. That's fun. A lot of good combos with ghosties. Sweet.
Good. I'm glad to hear it. All right. You want to do some reviews?
Yeah, let's do it. I got a got an email. I'm going to read in the world. Oh. Miranda Spray.
Bramara Sprake, shout out Miranda Spray.
Go see.
I didn't know the context of this.
She was sending me advice for Airbnb Pest Control.
But I only saw the beginning of the second message.
The spray slash preventative is normally diatiotomaceous earth powders for baseball.
I was like, what is happening here?
We're all good.
All right.
Go ahead, Jake.
Okay.
I've got a email and the message is that, you know,
I've got a ghosty of the week nominee.
So this is my review.
This is Will.
This is quite the fun name.
Will de Olivier.
Will de Olivier.
Italian maybe?
I like it.
Where's your dad of GI?
I'm nominating my girlfriend, Micah Jacobs,
because she is one of the most genuine people I've ever met.
And in my opinion, perfectly represents what it means to be a ghosty.
Go see the week.
She graduated from a college of those arcs with honors.
Now works for the Herzog Foundation, promoting Christian education,
competed in debate her entire life.
But what stands out isn't how well she speaks.
It's how well she listens.
One of the first times we met, we were playing board games with friends.
I was talking a little too loudly,
and she shushed me,
because she was so focused on listening to someone else.
She didn't even remember doing it, but I'll never forget it.
The small moment showed me the kind of person she is,
someone who makes people feel heard.
She loves Christ with their whole.
art encourages everyone around her and has an incredible sense of humor and is one of the kindest people
I've ever known. She's also the one who introduced me to Ghostrunners. Before we were even dating,
we'd laugh about episodes and quote inside jokes to each other. Even now, Ghostrunners'
references are just a part of our relationship. She absolutely loves the show and has no idea
I'm nominating her, which makes this an incredible surprise. Micah makes people feel seen, heard,
and loved without ever asking for recognition. That's exactly why I think she deserves to be a ghosty of the
week. So, a grazie from us and Will de Olivier.
thing i'd vote for okay timon's vote is in brad um yes well let's vote is in we'll come back to
brad i i my vote is in and and brad back to you okay well i just it doesn't matter if you
vote yes then it doesn't matter okay to you don't care that's a majority yeah to it we got two
of the votes so yeah good job iica you did it yeah thanks micah thanks for being awesome um that's cool
I love that.
Hey, Mac GW20.
I think this is Jensen's friend Mac.
You know, basketball manager, Mac.
The best family-friendly comedy, dot, dot, dot.
I'm brand new to this podcast, and I love it.
Jagen Bratter, hilarious.
And my wife and I have loved checking out their content.
I'm working on listening to every episode,
an order from the podcast's origins.
It's worth that kind of effort.
Do yourself a favor and listen.
I forgot to mention this story on the podcast last week,
but then Mac commented on the most
recent episode and reminded me of it.
So this was a fun experiment, social experience, whatever.
So like I said, Jensen's Bachelor Weekend, like a lot of the guys went on this
bourbon trail and then four of us went to this like museum lovers, you know, day kind
of thing.
And so it was me, Mac, Eli, and other Brad.
And Mac is just goofy.
Mac is funny.
Mac like has strong opinions.
Honestly, things that I kind of vibe with sometimes.
I'm like, okay, I like this guy.
Um, but, you know, I think, I think it's one of those things where it's like he's the
acquired taste to some people. I got it. I figured out right away. Um, so Jensen texts us halfway
through the day of us, you know, being out doing our museum thing. Hey, how are things going? He
texted me personally. Like, hey, how are things going? Or no, everything going okay. And I
responded and I said, everything's going okay. dot, dot, dot. And then I responded, a second text.
I was just like, Mac is just a little bit or a little bit of a lot. Or Mac is just a lot. I think is
what I said. Even though you're perfectly enjoying him.
Yeah, and I told Mac I was going to do this.
I was like, so I was like, why,
why is Jensen, you know, it's just being nice?
Mac is just kind of a lot with an upside down smiley face.
And Mac was like, you have to promise me,
you will tell me what Jensen replies with.
Oh, no.
Oh, I hate this.
And I was like, oh, this would be bad.
I was like, I do not promise you, but I promise you unless it's like,
whatever.
So Jensen, and Jensen's,
very proud of how we responded. He's like, I think I kept my integrity with all parties involved.
He just responded and said, thank you for being his friend, smiley face.
And so I think Mac last week commented like, hey, really nice of you guys to have Jensen on.
Thank you for being his friend. That's great. That's so funny. But it was just a fun, like, let's kind of like, let's kind of see if this guy will throw his friend under the bus a little bit. Wow. So thank you for being his friend.
Thank you for being.
That's a great response, Justin.
And so few will.
Yes.
Let me make sure
that's exactly what it was.
I'm so sorry.
I said, yeah, it's okay.
Max's just kind of a lot.
He said,
thank you for spending time with him.
Thanks for taking a shift with him.
Yeah, it was.
It was.
Thanks for giving me the day off.
Thank you for spending time with him.
Anyway.
Shout out.
Shout out, shout out, Mac.
It's great.
Go balls.
Go balls.
How's the connection been today?
This is so much better.
Really?
For me.
Yeah, so much easier.
Everything was smooth.
I wonder if it's,
maybe we're using time and's computer.
Yeah.
Faster computer.
Ram, it's a RAM thing.
We're also in air-conditioned house.
Maybe that helps.
It changed two factors.
We'll see what.
So let's go out in the sun and see what happens.
So sweat our baguettes off.
How much RAM does your computer have, Timon?
I think 16.
That's nice.
Maybe.
Must be nice.
Yeah.
Nice.
It is.
It is.
Yeah.
All right.
Timon, we've missed your velvet pipes.
We didn't go over this.
I didn't know whether to ask or not, but are we singing today?
Are we jingling today or what?
What's Catherine want to hear?
Who I could ask.
Catherine, can you hear us?
What?
First of all, will you bring my guitar in here, please?
Oh, yeah.
It's in the front closet by the...
Oh, yeah.
This is where you make your money, boys.
Oh, we got to come up with something good.
This is it.
Let's sing a...
Let's sing an AI written song.
You want to do that?
Sure.
That's nice.
Oh, it's not.
It's in our back of our van.
Shoot.
Yeah, because I led worship yesterday at church for the kids, for free.
Voluntarily.
Kind of my heart.
My kids weren't even there.
Other people's kids.
Write a song about how I'm back.
While we wait for that, very quick story, a car let me like, cropped, like, they just stopped
to the middle of street to let me cross the street.
I thought, oh, that's nice of them, gave me wave.
And then I looked over, it was a Waymo.
Like, I just waved at no one.
It's very, like, isolating feeling.
and also just like, just me and you, God.
No one else.
You kind of felt like...
No one else saw that.
I just waved to a robot.
Bamboozled.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, that was kind of...
I felt like, remember the time.
Put your hand down.
That's what the Waymo was saying to me.
I was like, yeah, you're right.
I should put my hand down.
It's so embarrassing.
But they're very friendly.
I'm going to sing a song.
Do you have any...
Would you like to sing with us?
Always nice to ask.
Do you have any requests?
You probably don't.
It's okay.
Feist?
Yeah.
Okay.
Can you grab me a pick out of the middle thing there?
I don't think I need it.
We're super comfortable on this couch.
Let's get a volume check on the, on the guitar.
Or can you do?
Guitar volume check.
We'll just, we'll just make something.
Oh, wow.
You gave me the guitar or the pick I never used.
This is like a green?
Nope, this is great.
Is a guitar coming through?
Yeah.
Yeah, it's pretty.
It's pretty loud, though.
Guitar too loud?
Guitar too loud, I would say.
I mix a lot of audio.
Guitar too quiet now or guitar fine?
Yeah, if you played that volume, that's good.
I just didn't know if you were just picking.
All right, you got a song.
All right, got some lyrics.
We'll see if it turns into a song.
I can't wait to hear what this is.
We're back.
I don't know.
Just whatever it seems like somewhat simple to sing to.
Something you can repeat.
That kind of says I'm back.
Yeah, something that speaks to the message.
This is great.
Well, I disappeared for just a little while.
Traded podcast lights for a different style.
Long shoot days in a million takes.
Living off crafty inconvenience store shakes.
Everybody asked where that guy go.
I was somewhere sweating in the summer show
Counting batteries watching every frame
Now I'm finally back where everybody knows my name
Because I'm back on the podcast, back in my chair
Everybody talking all at once, I don't care
Cue the cameras, roll the show
Somehow this circus still manages to flow
I'm back on the podcast
Feels like home
No more editing from a hotel room alone
Two months gone
But it flew so fast
Now we're making up for all the laughs
We missed at last
I heard all the stories that I wasn't around
Apparently chaos somehow still went down
New inside jokes I don't understand
So somebody catch me up if you can
Yeah back on the podcast
Back in the groove
Everybody's talking
Nobody's got proof
Hit record
Don't miss a beat
There's nowhere else
I'd rather be this week
I'm back on the podcast
Finally here
Let's make the con
They'll replay all year
Two months are gone
But now I'm back
So somebody count me in
One two, three
Roll that track
So interesting Chad GBT
thing at the end there.
Now that the song's pretty trapping up.
Somebody count me in.
Roll that track.
One, two, three, and let's get started.
Roll that track.
That was very, that was very nice.
Good job, boys.
Thank you.
Very, very nice.
Very fun.
That's fun.
You guys give me a creep.
I'll say this.
He didn't use the word creeps,
and later he mentioned that he had IBS.
Oh, interesting.
That's what you did to him?
Yeah, that's what he says.
Time is not lactose intolerance.
He's, yeah, Brad tost intolerance.
He's just got PTSD.
Oh, that's funny.
Anyway, all right.
Thank you, Gosses.
Thanks for listening.
Thanks for Time of being back, brother.
Yeah, I mean back, brother.
Good to be back.
Always that.
It's great.
It's good to be back home.
Roll that track.
Love you guys.
Ghosts from a podcast.
