Three, two, one. Henry, the floor is yours.
Okay, go ahead.
Say something.
What's your name?
Henry.
Henry.
And your brother's name is, Hey, Hey, Mauna?
What's your brother's name?
Rosie.
Rosie.
What you've been doing today?
Play.
Yoga.
Yoga.
Playing with yogurt.
Yeah.
Pretty good life.
I'm not trying to brag, but we are cultivating something special for our children.
Yeah, what are you doing?
I'm just playing with my brother Rosie with yogurt.
That's basically it.
That's homeschool for you.
That's about as much as we've taught them.
We'll get there eventually, you know.
Uh, uh-oh, ooh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts
and white meat too.
Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat.
So come along.
Let's have some fun and go.
Oh, heck it on your feet because it's a ghost from a spotting.
Is there a lot of like homeschool, like, um, education measuring?
I don't know what to call it.
Oh, like standardized testing kind of things.
I was your kid doing with it?
I don't know.
Dude, good question.
I don't know.
Sometimes people ask me questions about homeschooling and I'm like, I don't have the answers to any of that.
Like, I don't, I don't know.
Like somebody, multiple people recently have been like, hey, we're getting our kids and like, think about homeschooling.
What curriculum do you use?
Oh, good question.
American.
I know, I know we have some.
Yeah.
And so now I've like, I asked Catherine one time and now I just copy and paste whatever she says.
So, um.
She gave you like some talking points.
Like when you talk to the media, here's kind of what we'd like you to hit.
Right.
Please hit these things.
We're really, we like this thing for handwriting.
We like this thing for math.
you use this thing, you know, like, oh gosh, it's, it's a lot.
But, uh, handwriting is probably like its own unit.
Yeah.
We have like a specific like, like, I forget what's called all about handwriting or something
like that.
And it's like, yeah, that's, that's the handwriting curriculum that they use.
And they like that one more than this other one that they thought was going to be great
or whatever.
And I'm like, okay.
Um, so yeah, I don't know what they, what they use to gauge, uh, like, I think it's just
like, hey, like, they just play catch.
They just watch kids play catch and they're like, oh gosh.
Yeah, they must be really smart.
Hey, don't press anything on the right.
Okay.
Speaking of homeschoolers, we lost our resident homeschooler today.
Yeah.
He ate too much lettuce.
Yeah.
Too much lettuce.
Amen, crying, boo-hoo me.
Yeah, poor guy.
I don't know.
people are like people are probably going to worry hey is timon is time and still coming yeah time is
time is still around he's just i think he's still around there yeah i know a little little
what's that dude uh yeah big hank Hank the tank uh yeah time is still around he's just not
feeling well this morning and i said fine dude but he is i i would i wanted to get his perspective
on all this but maybe it's whatever too personal or whatever but like i i
In the nicest way possible, I'm like, I'm not trying to be pushy, but I'm not not trying to be pushy timing.
It's like, why aren't you coming to more of the Ghostrunners Getaway?
And that's all I asked him.
And I convinced him to basically come to all of it, which is great.
So not all of it, all of it, but like he's coming like, I think Monday now of session one and is staying through to the end.
And so it's like, all right.
Cool.
Sweet.
So, anyway.
So I have always been in the mindset of like, I am not going to be the guy that pushes people
to something. Like, that's just not my personality. And I don't think you would probably say
that's your personality either, right? Like, definitely not. Like, I want someone who wants to be
there, if that makes sense. Like, I don't want to like be like, I'm going to convince this person.
But lately, I've at least had the mindset of like, I want to at least ask them and let
them know that we want them to be there.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't think that's pushy.
I think that's just me being like, like, yeah.
So the other day, and we'll see if it happens.
But I just texted Jensen and I was like, hey, man,
just been thinking about you again.
Will you stop?
And just if you want to come to the ghost to get away, man, to help out.
Even if it's last minute, just drive in your car and let's go.
And he's like, I'll think about it.
So it's like, hey, we got a chance here.
So who knows.
you must have got to time in before I did because by the time I texted him to try and recruit him
he was like I don't remember the days but I'm there most of it like great yeah and that was part
of the miscommunication was he was like yeah sorry I don't know what was what I was thinking or how
this happened and I was like timing if I had a nickel for every time I had some semblance of that
sentence come out of my mouth I would you know be a very rich man so I was like no worries on
my end so anyway timean's coming baby it's gonna be fun um yeah I
I don't know. I'm just getting more and more excited as we get closer and closer to it, dude.
It's a lot of work that I kind of, I feel like it was a lot of work last year for sure.
But I think just even having you around was like, okay, Jake's, Jake's there.
Like, Jake will help me load the trailer. Like, now it's like, like, I went through four shirts yesterday.
It was, it was a four shirt day for Big Daddy. It was a, it was a sweaty one.
One of them was playing pickleball, but the other three were just being outside.
basically and moving a few things around.
Yeah.
Glad to hear your back playing pickleball, even with your family around, you know.
This was the first time, I think, maybe since then that I'd played.
But it was a good time.
So, yeah, it was great.
We actually, I played Sam, Kyle Wiltshire, Wiltshire, and Glide played.
And we, like, Kyle brought his, you know, shell-shocked Bluetooth speaker.
and didn't play shell-shocked.
I forget what song...
Oh, he was like, what song, you know,
like give me some requests.
And for whatever reason,
what first song in your head right now
if somebody said, hey,
give me a song request to play right now
for pickleball.
What would you say?
Shakira was the first thing that came to mind.
Okay.
Yeah, that's a fun practice.
Like, Ghosties all right now.
Like, what's the first song if someone said,
hey, give me a song request for pickleball right now?
Comment your song below.
I'm just curious.
because it's going to be all over the place for whatever reason.
Maybe it's because of these guys,
like we're all like 2000s Christian guys, whatever.
But I go, youth of the nation by a POD.
And that sent us down a spiral.
It was, it was great.
We listened to POD.
We listened to the Switchfoot.
We listened to Robbie C band came up there randomly.
You know, Brandon Heath, all these different random people.
And then there's like these guys playing,
we're at this park and they're playing basketball.
behind us just throwing down F-bombs and we're like, you know,
and the voice of truth.
What park are you guys at?
It's a little honeyhole.
Edwardsville City Park right by Sam's House.
Honeyhole.
It technically closes at 11, but it's a manual turn off the lights so we can play as late as we
want baby.
Wow.
We get wild.
Good, fine.
Yeah.
I've been chat with Clyde a little bit lately, and I think we are not allowed to talk
about what he's been doing, but he tell you about.
like why he's been gone.
Oh, dude, a little.
I didn't talk to him last night about it,
but I have texted him about it.
No.
Yeah, is it crazy?
I just,
I'm ready for him to lift the embargo on you and I
so that we could tell the ghosties about what he's got going on.
But yeah, he sent me a voice memo like,
hey,
sorry, I'm exhausted.
I'm on like hour nine of my 10-hour layover in Denver.
I don't know.
Maybe it was dumb.
I had an option for like a direct.
flight, but I chose this one.
And I was like, what?
How?
And he was like, well, it was like a $700 difference.
I was like, okay, that's a little less insane.
But still.
There's got to be another, there's got to be a middle ground, right?
There's no third option.
What is the number?
Because he's flying L.A. straight to K.C.,
$700 difference for 10-hour layover.
I would probably do that.
But like, what's the number where it's like, oh, no, I'd sacrifice $300?
Yeah, probably $300.
He was the one who even made the point.
He's like, so I guess I value a day at home with my family as $700.
That's what it's worth to not be there.
Yeah, I guess was he solo?
You think he wasn't with his family in the airport?
Yeah, I don't know.
He sounded like he was going through it.
It sounded like a single man stuck in an airport.
Just sad.
But I could be wrong.
That's crazy.
That's like one of those times where it's like, let's just get a hotel room for 10 hours and just go, you know, hang out there.
But no, he, dude, he's one of those guys.
Well, his wife is one of those people that.
And so he's now connected obviously to her.
But like, jokingly, I'll be like, yeah, do you know this person?
And they'll kind of have an answer.
Like, there was one time, did I tell you this?
Like, he was like, yeah, we were at the game where LeBron like broke the scoring record.
Do I tell you this?
No, I don't know.
And I was like, oh, yeah, you're like best friends with LeBron or something, like jokingly.
And they're like, no, Anthony Davis got us some tickets.
I was like, shut up.
What?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Anthony Davis's girlfriend or whoever is friends with me.
I'm like, what?
Anthony, I mean, that's the second biggest name on the team.
That's one of the biggest names of the NBA.
And you're just throwing it out like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We just got free tickets to this thing.
Oh, because I think I said, like, that must have been a crazy expensive ticket to go
that game. Well, Anthony Davis guys tickets.
Nah. What?
So, yeah,
I'm really excited to see if
anything comes of the project,
we'll call it.

Yeah, they seem,
it seems like Lauren's family
is super well connected in like the,
like, black community of like celebrities.
Her uncle is like,
yeah, kind of a comedy legend
of his day, I think.
Yeah, her uncle was in the movie Friday.
I think someone else
in her family is Brian McKnight.
And also she grew up
with Gilbert Arenas.
There's a big story.
Yeah, yeah.
Gilbert Arinas is like her unofficial brother.
Brian McKnight.
Yeah.
Yep.
And this guy.
And Stevie Wonder's like her godfather, I think, or something like that.
Of course.
Yeah.
And rumors are true.
He is blind, they say.
I asked.
And they're like, yeah, we FaceTime with them sometimes.
They're like, what?
So, hey, maybe that stirs the pot a little bit.
FaceTime, yeah.
Anyway.
So.
Yeah. What do you've been up to? What's going on? How's the closet?
When I look at my closet's good.
Yeah. I think pretty good. When I look at my podcast notes for this week, I see one kind of running thread.
And it's that I've had a lot of interactions with new people this week. That's a lot of what I wrote down.
Okay. And none of it's that entertaining. But I, oh, a couple days ago, I sent you a voice memo. I was on a walk. I was just walking around town. I walked probably a mile or two just.
Because there's a nice brother.
sending people voice memos. Yeah, it was only 104. So it's like, I got to get outside,
which is like how I felt. Like, oh my gosh, we got it. It's like in the wintertime when it's like,
man, it's 36 today. Like it feels kind of balmy. Like I just take a light jacket. Like,
it is kind of the same thing. It's like, all right, 10 straight days of like 112 plus and then you get 104.
Like, I might go hot coffee this morning. Yeah. Sit outside. Yeah. I will say the pool
does make it nice where it's like, all right. Yeah, obviously I'm still going to get sweaty and hot.
It's 104 outside, but I can just walk around as much as I want to and then, you know, as soon as I'm
done, just hop in that pool. Sometimes I was with my clothes on. Yeah, I've enjoyed those little
videos you have done. Oh, thanks. Those are good. Yeah. Isaac and I filmed another one together this past
Saturday. And so I was like, you've got to come over. Like, we have to fall in the pool together.
So, yeah, that was fun. And I'm sure we'll just keep making it more and more ridiculous. And
You got to.
Yeah.
I think the outfits you fall into the pool with or the amount of people falling in the pool.
And I don't know.
Just keep up.
Yeah, we get all the ghosties to fall in the pool at Gulf Shores.
Oh, that's a good idea.
Yeah.
Yeah, I could shoot one there.
Yeah.
That's a good idea.
You know, actually, I'll talk about that Saturday.
So, yeah, we knew it was going to be a long day.
So I was like, let's do another day in the life video.
And I've already talked about this recently.
But when my wife is out of town, I fall apart.
and my habits fall apart with little stuff.
It's not like, I don't know where the bread is all of a sudden.
I don't know how to start my guy.
But it's just like I.
So here's the situation.
I can't remember if I mentioned this on the podcast or not,
but about a week ago, someone text Isaac and they say,
hey, next Saturday, you and Jake would have played in a pickleball tournament?
He goes, yeah, I mean, Jake and I aren't doing anything.
Let's do it.
Meanwhile, someone else texted me individually.
Hey, you and Isaac were playing a pickleball tournament?
Yeah, Isaac and I were free.
We never do anything.
Let's do it.
We double booked ourselves for two tournaments on the same day.
So kind of misses doubtfire.
Got to be in both places.
I will say they didn't really overlap that much.
So it was like, all right, this is possible.
It's just going to be exhausting.
All right, let's film it, you know, make some content out of it.
I love it.
And because my wife was out of town, I didn't bring a water bottle.
I forgot to like bring any kind of like snack or like sustenance or a lot.
electrolyte powder.
So for all this whole day of eight hours, nine hours of pickleball, I'm just drinking,
you know, six ounces of water at a time out of like whatever cup is like nearby.
And then we, we didn't eat lunch.
We're having a door dash on the way.
And I was like, man, this is embarrassing.
Wait, so, and I'm curious, like, how much of that is Rachel truly telling you to do
those things?
And how much of is you just like, I'm a little just more responsible for whatever reason
when Rachel's around.
You know what I mean?
I don't know. A part of it, I would like to blame us trying to film this dumb day in a life thing because it.
Yeah. That takes so much work. I watch it and I'm like Jake had to like you, you like at one point you were on a like the sidewalk going on a walk. I was like, Jake had to literally like either Rachel was with you or yeah, you're like, I'm just going to walk ahead for 15 seconds and you have to film me or put it on a tripod or something.
Yeah, it was like, well, let's go to breakfast and let's do this. And like, well, we got to fall in the pool and then you fall in the pool for a while and then you got to drive and you're like, holy crap, we got to go.
And then my mind was like, make sure you have the camera gear and the tripod and the paddles and your shoes.
All right, yeah, we got it all.
And then, I guess just water is not one of the necessities in my mental checklist.
I'm sure that ghosties are thinking this.
So I'm going to ask this question.
Were they not selling any sustenance or water bottles at the venues?
So the location of the second tournament was at the place where it's like a whatever, 73 cents an ounce.
Oh gosh.
Yeah, I couldn't get power aid.
I just have to scan a barcode.
And then even then I'm getting eight ounces of power eight at a time.
Right.
Hey, well, all four of you.
Hi.
I'm filming the podcast right now.
Okay.
Have you seen Pilgrim Progress?
I put Pilgrim's Progress in the book basket upstairs.
You say hi to Mr. Jake?
Hi, Mr. Jay.
Hey, guys.
Hi.
All right, all right, all right.
Come on.
Mr. Jake's telling me a story right now.
So you guys need to get going, okay?
Okay, no, no, no, no, no dog noises.
I like the dog noises.
You say, bye.
Bye.
Bye.
Okay.
All right.
Addie, be a good example.
Bye.
Okay.
All right, all right, all right.
Yeah.
Go, go, go.
Hey, alfalfa.
All right.
You're silly.
What was that noise?
All right.
I want to have my bed.
Your bed?
Your best funny face.
Do you want to see Rosie's best funny face real quick?
Please, please, please.
You already had it ready.
Yeah, she was ready to go.
Oh, your funny face.
All right, all right.
Oh, nice way.
That's pretty good.
Okay.
Yeah, when you all be quiet, Hattie?
I ask you be a good example, okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Sorry.
Okay, so Jake was telling me a story.
So you were, yeah, the 78 cents and outs, yeah.
It was fun.
It was like, the first tournament was a guy's birthday party.
So he was just like, I'm going to rent out a bunch of space.
He put $800 on like the bar tab for all of us to just like enjoy.
Of course, I did not take advantage.
Yeah.
Because I think everyone afterwards, like they stayed around and they had lunch and they drank and
whatever and Isaac and I were like, see ya, nice to meet you.
We got to go.
I had nothing from there.
But that was very fun.
And it was, you're in teams and there was a draft and, you know, you had a team like kind of uniforms, you know, and they were, they were jungle and we were a camo, whatever.
So it was kind of fun.
It was fun.
It was fun.
Okay.
Did they assign that or did you just all come with your own theme?
No, it was like, so there's, it's four person teams, one girl per team.
So the four girls were captains.
So the girls drafted the teams.
and then they like, you know, we're like, all right, we're going to be team this, team this.
And so when our girl texted us, like, all right, let's be camo.
I was like, awesome.
Do you have any camo?
Yeah.
I don't think I own a single thing that's camo.
No.
So I was like, well, I'm going to have to buy something regardless.
I want to, I was like, oh, I could wear, because I'm on Amazon just looking up camouflage.
I was like, what if it were a gilly suit?
That would be awesome.
Just like fully covered.
I was like, ah, probably not on two.
tournament day. It's going to be a little warm.
So then I was thinking, I was like, well, if the rest of my team is wearing camo,
maybe it's funny if I dress up as a deer or something.
But also, I'm the new guy.
Like, I don't know. Maybe it's not my place to be the, the weird one.
So I was like, I'll just wear the camo.
And anyway, did that.
What did you go with little, like camo top and bottom, little, little, uh, just camo
shorts?
I did, uh, yeah, a camo, like moisture wicking shirt that found on Amazon.
Actually not too bad.
I won't ever wear it again.
But for that, you know, specific instance, it wasn't too bad.
And then I found some shorts at Walmart that are like Army, like Army green colored shorts.
So I was like, I can maybe wear those again.
Okay.
I kind of, I'm kind of into the camo hat thing.
And I'm not at like I, I, not because I'm like a camo, I'm not a hunter, you know, by trade or anything like that.
But like, I don't know.
I feel like it's kind of a style right now.
And I'm kind of, I'm kind of okay with it.
Like I'm kind of, I could see myself rocking one.
Okay.
Even though it's like not in like a team real tree kind of way.
You know what I mean?
But like in just like, you know what those are?
No.
You would know.
People know.
Real tree.
I mean like it's like those are like the hunters out there.
Like I'm not getting this hat at Cabela.
This is what I'm trying to say.
I'm getting it like from a cool spot.
Okay.
Gotcha.
I think that's what it's called real tree.
Well, congrats on that.
It hasn't it weird how you know this kind of stuff like real tree?
I don't know.
Like stuff.
Slender Man.
Like you said.
last week. I was like, I don't know what that is. And you're like, I don't, I could tell you
didn't really know either, but you at least knew the first part of it. You know what I mean?
Yeah. That's why I've said. I'm always good at multiple choice test. Like, I know enough to know
what's related to what. Nothing beyond that. Yeah. We could, yeah, we could get the, we could,
we could, we could narrow it down pretty well, make an educated guess. Bye. Bye. Bye. Oh, these kids are
crazy. It was fun day, though. We won money in both tournaments, so let's go. It's a
Saturday in Phoenix. It was a birthday. It was a birthday.
birthday party and they they put money on it. That's pretty fun. Yeah. Which also was like,
did we pay for this? And then it turns out we did like two weeks ago and I'd forgotten about it or
whatever. But okay. That's fun. Anyway, yeah, they go all out here. They love their pickle.
Yeah. Yeah, that is crazy. Like, and now that you said it's a birthday party, it's not as crazy,
but when you said like, I got invited to a tournament and then Isaac got invited to a tournament,
like in Kansas City, there's like probably one big tournament per weekend at most. You know what I mean?
Yeah, I know. It's crazy how many are, how many are, how many,
happening here. That's great. Let me tell you something right now, Jake. I got an email. Nope.
Gosh, that makes me sound so old. Oh, my gosh. I got a text message. Oh, I hate that I said an email.
I got a text message today from our lovely, wonderful private chef, Ortencia. Hi, Brad. Are you bringing

I got on to the comment section on Monday.
and people were very convinced that I had put frosted tips on my hair.
Did you see that?
I didn't think anything of it,
but I guess the way the sun was hitting it?
Yeah.
I'm like,
even when I looked at it,
I was like,
I guess I can kind of see what they're talking about,
but like not so much that like so many people were convinced.
Like some people were like,
it looks great,
Brad.
You like,
that's awesome.
And I don't know,
looking back on it,
I'm like,
that's not what I was,
whatever.
But honestly,
I thought about it more.
and I was like, I would never do it unless I had to.
But if I had to, secretly I would not be sad about it.
Like, because I think growing up, I thought it would be the coolest thing ever to have
frosted tips.
And so now it's like, yeah, I'd give it a whirl.
I'd give it a world if I had to.
Yeah, what's that list look like of like punishments that you secretly wouldn't mind?
Yeah.
Solitary confinement?
Yeah.
For three days or whatever.
like sign me up dude um yeah i don't know punishments all the air confinement frosted tips um
look up like good fancy football punishments or something yeah if it was like you have to get
you have to sit court side at a wmba game i'd be like i bet that's kind of fun for a night
okay yeah for one day yeah um the waffle house thing where you have to like what is it 24 waffles
or every time or every 24 hours.
It takes way an hour.
Yeah.
That sounds, I would have, I would make the most out of that.
I would have a lot of fun with the workers there.
You know, we would document it well.
It would be great.
Oh, the other punishment I wouldn't mind.
Like go retake the ACT.
See, like that, like, I would be curious.
I would at least be like, oh my gosh, I can't believe how bad I did.
Or, you know.
Hey, y'all need to go take that upstairs.
We're not doing that here.
Oh, no, he's on mute.
Okay.
Papa's on mute.
Go upstairs.
Yes, sir?
This is great.
What do you think he's saying?
Dang it.
I couldn't get to the button in time.
Go.
Papa's on mute.
That's right.
Well, they're bringing down these like pots and pans to like, you know, play food, like, you know, play kitchen down here.
I was like, listen, I'm not trying to run a tight, tight ship, but I got to, I got a, I got
draw the lines somewhere here.
All right, here's some more punishments.
I feel like half of these I would like and half,
I would not like it all.
Everybody brings like one edible item
to throw in a blender, loser has to drink the concoction.
No way.
Yeah.
That sounds worse than, like, I could do time over that.
That sounds terrible.
That's a terrible two minutes that's going to affect me for a long time.
eat a plate of maximum heat wings with no milk, water, or napkins.
I would not secretly like that.
No, yeah.
That sounds like a punishment as well.
Yeah, I agree.
Yeah.
I'm trying to like justify it somehow.
I'm like, no.
Here's the deal, though.
Maybe I am kind of, I've always wanted to do that, but I'll never do it unless somebody
makes me do it.
So maybe I'm, maybe it's a front of tip.
Yeah.
Like, I don't, I'm not going to like forcefully like put myself through.
that misery. But if I did it, I'd be like, yeah, I can say I crossed that one off the list.
You know what I mean? Okay. I've never heard of this one. I would not do this, but this is pretty
funny. Have you heard of ghost golf, the punishment? Ghost golf. Play 18 holes of golf getting
paired up with strangers. And you have to play without using a real golf ball. So you're just like
shadow swinging and then just like going to where you think your ball landed. Like you have to just play a
full round of golf. Like write out your score and ask for a T. I don't know if that could be funny.
You're struggling to find the ball sometimes. Hey, anyone see the title? Yeah. Yeah. Three?
No, mine was four. Dang. Shoot. I won't tell if you won't. All right. All right. Let's do it.
Ghost golf. No, that kind of stuff to be like, I get more uncomfortable with that stuff because it's like the other person involved.
Exactly. You know. Three strangers.
Yeah.
Like I would do that with my friends and that would be punishment, but I would do it.
But I would not.
I would say, no, I'm not doing that with you with early random people.
Compete in an amateur local bodybuilding competition.
Just like grease yourself up and go on stage and flex.
See, like, how much time do I have to prepare?
Because, like, that's another thing that was like, I mean, I would get in great shape for that.
I'd be motivated as heck.
You know?
Just get it all bronzed up.
Or open mic night,
stand-up comedy night,
and this says with zero preparation.
That's also kind of fun.
Like, if I was forced to,
all right, I'll do it.
No prep.
Yeah.
I've heard the one that I really like
where it's open mic night,
but you have like a bunch of like folded up
pieces of paper out of the jokes
that all your friends wrote.
You have no idea what they're going to be.
And so it could either be like,
just terrible, awful things or it could be things that don't make sense or, you know.
How do we somehow do that at the getaway?
Because I think that is so funny.
Just like having to read something is so funny.
That is good.
Yeah, that's a fun consequence.
Anyway, yeah.
I, okay, well, I can't say it on this podcast because this one's going to get aired before
some of the people get to the getaway, right?
Yeah.
But that
I ordered
This will come out
halfway through session one.
That's something that I ordered.
I think that could be a funny consequence.
Nevermind.
We won't talk about too much.
Time and edit it that part out.
Speaking of things that are going to,
you know,
come out after we record this.
So tomorrow,
when we're recording this,
but, you know,
four days ago when this comes out,
I'm going to shoot a YouTube video.
And I feel like you'll appreciate this.
I just had this idea a couple nights ago.
So it was already set in stone.
Like I reserved an indoor spot.
It's going to meet Kyle Isaac and then a local female pro.
She's young and fun and we thought she'd be good on camera.
And so the idea was like, I will play a doubles match with her.
And then it could be kind of fun.
Like, let's have her and Isaac play singles.
And Kyle and I will just commentate it.
And then a couple nights ago, I was sitting right here.
And one thing led to another.
And I was just like, wait, I think we could do something way better than just them play singles.
So the plan tomorrow, hopefully this ends up happening, and I didn't just spoil this for Isaac.
But everyone is, so Rachel, Kyle's fiance, Ashley, they're all going to come.
We're all going to make this happen.
Isaac thinks he's there to play singles against Naomi.
Naomi thinks she's there to just like try and beat Isaac, which is true.
But really, this whole thing is like a secret, like blind pickleball date.
Okay.
And so we're not going to tell either of them.
you know, I think we're going to like very much try and like say, hey, you guys, we're going to play
a 15 today.
We're going to make it a little longer, but we're going to give you guys plenty of timeouts.
So like we want, you know, that way the game plays a little better and we want people to
get to know you a little bit.
So then I think we can go over during these timeouts and ask Naomi like, you know, if you
get to know you questions, beach your mountain, the dogs or cats, whatever, walking over
to Isaac, ask him the same questions.
And there's like a chemistry meter on screen.
and that's more or less what Kyle and I are commentating.
There is a, at this indoor our pickleball facility,
there's a coffee shop connected to it.
So I think we're going to say like, hey,
um,
loser today has to buy coffee.
Meanwhile,
while they're playing their game,
Rachel and Ashley are going to be like decorating like a table at this coffee shop
and just like go all out tablecloth,
candle flowers ready to go,
um,
for Isaac to be able to like take her on a date right then and there.
Um,
so I'll do him like,
just super sweaty, like,
rip it into his vanilla latte.
Like, yeah, so I have two brothers and a little sister.
Yeah.
She's great.
We're all pretty split up now.
Well, my sister's at home, but anyway.
I used to have a dog.
Oh, yeah, what happened to Tiger?
Kathy and Scott are looking after Tiger.
Okay.
Very good.
I was curious about that.
I was like Shirley Tiger and his bowels didn't make it all the way to Arizona.
okay.
Yeah, we'll see if we can
that'll be fun tomorrow.
Can I,
can I request,
not even request.
Can I suggest a,
Oh,
please.
I called Scott to get his suggestions as well,
because I want to get Scott involved somehow.
Well,
this is,
this is just a very simple one.
You get tennis confused with pickleball,
blah, blah, blah.
And at the very beginning of the game,
you're like,
love, love.
I mean, zero,
zero two.
That sounds good?
That's pretty funny.
All right.
Everybody set?
Okay.
Love, love.
No, me, you could serve,
blah, blah, blah.
Or,
Sorry.
Brain burp.
Something like that.
Just like a, yeah, subtle thing like that.
I'm trying to think of other things that you could do.
But the chemistry meter is really fun.
Yeah, like a chemistry meter on screen.
And I have more ideas.
I just think, you can only pull off so much in one video.
So, you know, I don't think we need to overdo it.
But I thought about giving Isaac a series of challenges that he needs to try and complete.
Yeah.
That are like a little more maybe romantic than, you.
you would initially think, like, all right, I want you to try and score at least eight points.
You have to get her to compliment you at least once.
You know, like basically giving him ammunition that gives us ammunition in the edit,
like giving him opportunities to give us funny moments.
Are you saying, and maybe even like, maybe even don't even say that on the screen.
Like maybe just tell him like, hey, get her to compliment or vice versa.
I'd be like, yeah.
Hey, compliment her six different times.
Like, you know, give her the same compliment six times to see if she ever, you know, like,
comments that like, wow, you really think they have good, you know, hand-eye coordination.
Yeah, the viewer doesn't know that I've asked Isaac to do this.
Like, man, he's really laying it on.
Chemistry meters high.
Yeah.
That's pretty funny.
I like that.
He'll like that too, I'm sure.
Yeah.
It's, I think he'll appreciate it.
So, yeah, hopefully I didn't, you know, for all I know she's going to bail like a couple
hours or now and then I just spoiled all this, but whatever.
Yeah.
Plenty of fish, you know.
We can find another one.
Are you seeing Isaac pretty much every day right now?
No, not necessarily every day, but seem a ton.
He's traveling a lot right now.
He's in Vegas, right?
Yeah, he was just in Florida for like three days.
Him and Scott are just bebopping all over.
He and Scott went to Florida.
He came back for like two days.
And then he and Scott went to Vegas.
They were there for just like three days.
I think next he and Scott go to Utah.
for just like a few days.
And then maybe he's also going to Kansas City again later this month.
So yeah, we're all gone and traveling.
But they're in an apparel convention.
And it's pretty fun to like learn what they're learning.
Like they're talking to manufacturers.
And so they're just getting to know like, hey, who are you guys?
Oh, we're based in Vietnam.
Okay.
And who are some of your customers?
Well, we make Viori, legends, Rourke, you know, whatever, all these brands.
Wow.
Cool. Sweet. So you could make that for us? Yeah, yeah, no problem.
Avory, like, strato tech tea, like their nicest, softest, I don't know what it retails for,
60 or 70 bucks.
Wait, let me go. Yeah, I was going to say. What do you think it costs to make, like,
landed, like to make it and ship it over in a boat, get it to America.
Let me see what it is. I mean, it's going to be lower than you think, but I don't know how low
is crazy. I mean, my guess is landed $13.
Okay. Looks like they sell it for 58 for taxes and everything. And it cost $8 to make.
Wow. So clothing is insane. I mean, especially you think of like designer clothing.
Oh, yeah. They're making so much money. Wow. Okay. Yeah. I mean, yeah, the markups on.
What do you think? What are like the crazy?
craziest product markups.
Like,
like,
like,
is there something super small
that is crazy marked up
more than we would ever imagine?
Like paper clips?
Yeah.
It goes way cheap to me.
You know,
like,
I think I heard fireworks are.
They're still relatively cheap,
but I think like the price
of gunpowder is nothing.
Yeah.
Yes.
I think you're right.
Fireworks is good.
Yeah.
Coley makes sense.
Ask Steve Coop,
he would say etamame,
because that's,
just soybeans dipped in, you know, some sort of sauce.
And he's doing the math when we order as an appetizer.
And he goes, you know how much?
That's less than a penny of beans.
You just paid $8.50 for.
Wow.
That's funny.
So beans.
So there are beans and rice.
Well, yeah, I'm sure food.
Yeah, food in general is crazy high markups.
Right?
I would imagine like purses have got to be.
You think so?
Those seem kind of more complicated to make.
Yeah, I guess maybe I'm more thinking of like the,
I guess designers don't really count.
But yeah, just really expensive stuff like that.
Say you're not.
Hi again.
Here it comes.
Oh, see you.
You can be quiet and stay in there, okay?
Henry's a wild child, man.
Enter and I went to Costco yesterday,
and we had some fun.
Yeah.
We got a lot of samples.
He liked them all.
He wanted to go back every time.
I bet.
Get more.
Anyway, last thing I'll say is just,
Scott and Isaac are like super encouraged.
This is going to be awesome.
It sounds like maybe not in the next month or whatever,
but maybe like Christmas,
like Friday will be selling
Lulu Lemon quality, everything.
Like it's not that hard.
He's got to meet the right person and then boom.
Right.
That is cool.
I've heard,
maybe I've said it's on the podcast.
We've said a lot of things multiple times on the podcast.
So sorry.
My cousin who works for New Balance is like, yeah,
our leggings are the exact same as
Lulu Lemon leggings.
They're like made from these exact same people.
Wow.
But like Catherine, like, not refuses to believe it, but like, she's like, they don't feel the same as Lulu Lemon like.
It's like there's something.
I think there's mental aspects to everything like that.
That is what I get so fascinated with.
It's like the mental aspect of branding.
I wonder if everyone's going to think like this is just like Louis Lemon or if they're going to think, no, Lou Lilliman's better.
Yeah, I'm going to think, well, it's $20 less than Lulim and.
and I feel like I can tell a difference.
Like, I wonder how many, like, suppliers to Walmart that sell their stuff for $15
are the same suppliers as your, you know, whatever, like something like that.
You know what I mean?
I've been buying a good amount of stuff from Walmart lately, like, clothes.
And it does take some effort, but you have to really tell yourself, like, no, it's the same.
How different can shorts be?
Like, close your eyes and tell me that these are different.
Like, yeah, 100%.
That'll be great.
You being quiet over there?
We'll see.
Stay quiet, please.
Stay quiet.
Stay quiet.
Stay wild, child.
Anyway, let me see what else I have on my notes.
It's not much, I'll be honest.
Oh, I'm kind of starting to dabble in what's called the high-class society of life, pretty much.
Not really, but I got a sample, sample, nope, trial of YouTube.
premium, I'm not going back.
It's over.
It's unbelievable.
Oh, yeah.
It's like, I mean, you don't realize how conditioned you are to the ads until you don't
have them.
And it's like, oh my gosh, you're so much more excited to watch things.
Like, like, there was a, there was a, there was like a, you know, on my home page of
YouTube, there was a suggested like SNL skit from the 90s.
And I'm like, yeah, yeah, I'll check it out if I'm not going to have to watch that.
Like, all of a sudden, I was like, yes.
I will click on that and watch this.
And it was not very funny at all.
But it was like, I didn't have to sit through ads to watch it.
And, you know, and then you can, like, just get right into everything you want.
And anyway, so I'm, I'm into that.
And then I've also drunk with power at Costco right now.
I've been, I've gone to Costco like five times in the last, like, three days because of all this Gulf Shore stuff.
Just loading up the truck, going back and forth.
I bought, I calculated it out.
Ooh, let's see if you can do it better than I can.
I was struggling this morning.
24 times 14.
Great news.
The federal EV rebate is back.
Eligible customers get up to $5,000 with the federal EVAP rebate on select 2027 volt and 2026 Equinox EV models.
Visit your local Chevrolet dealer today for more details.
Wow.
I don't know.
Yeah, I know.
It was $4.24 times four.
Yeah.
what was it, 336, something like that.
Okay.
Pounds of ice.
That's how many bags of ice I got.
I got 14 bags of ice, 24 pounds each.
First, well, let me get on my soapbox about that real quick.
Yeah.
Unreal how good of a deal Costco ice is compared to the gas stations.
Really?
Gas stations are selling five pound bag of ice for five, eight, whatever dollars.
You can go to Costco, get a 24 bag.
pound bag of ice, 24 pound bag of ice, for $3.
Unreal.
It fires me up.
I will go out of my way to find a Costco to buy ice from now on.
I will never buy one at quick trip in my life.
Anyway, but all I had to say, Costco, I upgraded my membership to like the high, the high tier membership.
Oh, yeah.
Talk to us.
Ambassador or something.
The main thing you get is you get to go early.
Like Costco doesn't open until 10 a.m.
But if you have this thing, you get a go at 9.
Oh, that's amazing.
That's a good idea.
It's awesome.
Everything I hate about Costco, which is not much, but is due to, there are just too many people in the parking lot, too many people roaming around, too many people that you're trying to, you know, maneuver through at 9 a.m.
That's not a problem.
It's awesome.
Yeah.
Is it, like how empty is it?
The parking lot is full no matter when you go, dude.
It's crazy.
But then you get inside and it's not,
it's,
they must have tons of workers that,
but then again,
they're not parking in the good spots.
I don't think,
but,
um,
so it's not,
it was great today.
Like,
I just walked right into the,
uh,
checkout thing.
It was great.
It was awesome.
That is nice.
So,
anyway,
so I'm high society when it comes to YouTube premium.
Whatever the Costco ambassador membership thing is.
And,
um,
I think that's it.
Those are the two things.
But they're,
they're,
they're pretty high on my list.
Ice Society.
I've had YouTube premium for about a year now,
and it is awesome.
It's going to be hard to ever go back.
Yeah, I was,
I only did it for like,
oh, I'm going to go to Tahoe.
I'm going to download some stuff for the flights.
And now I'm like, shoot,
they know exactly what they were doing
with that free trial.
Because I don't know.
It's $15.
And it just seemed like,
no way am I going to spend that much money
on something per month for that.
Like, I'll spend that on Netflix or something.
I understand that, but for YouTube.
And now I'm like,
oh, yeah.
this was totally worth it.
I've been a big fan of
YouTube kind of has AI built into it
where you can like,
you can click that little star thing
and it'll like summarize the video for you.
You can like ask questions
about what's inside the YouTube video
and like Jim and I will tell you things.
Whoa.
So it's terrible for creators,
but it's great for the viewer
because like someone will have
a really interesting title and thumbnail,
you know, whatever.
Something that you're like randomly curious
about like,
why does Wolf Farrell never talk to his son?
It's like the title of them.
I don't know.
I'm just making something up.
And you're like, I kind of want to know.
Because I have YouTube premium, I'll click on it.
But then as soon as I do, press play, press pause, click the star, and then say, summarize
this video.
And then boom, got my answer.
All right.
We're in.
We're out.
Sweet.
That's cool.
I have not heard this.
Yeah.
Because every once in a while, it's like, that's a clickbait title.
But it's working on me.
Like, I want to know.
Yeah.
Like, this version of real estate is dumb.
And it's like, is it done?
What's going on here?
And you click on it.
That was just, yeah, whatever.
And now you don't have to be curious.
Hurry and click.
Hurry and get your answer.
Don't even watch the video.
Why be curious?
I love it.
Okay.
Thank you for that suggestion.
I just got, oh, what were you going to say?
Nothing.
I don't know.
I just got a fax from,
Oritincia.
Our Ghostrunners getaway.
head chef, head cook, she just faxed me and said,
are you providing meat for the getaway or do I need to bring it?
Yeah.
And I said, good ranchers will be supplying the meat.
And you know what she responded?
What?
She said, such a good meat company.
Such a good meat company.
Yeah.
Such a good American farmer.
Such a good welcome to the table.
La Mesa.
Yeah, even people who don't speak English very well understand that, you know,
Good Rangers is the best.
It's the American way.
It doesn't take much to understand that when you have Good Rancher,
I'm so excited for Ghost Runners Get Away this in Gold Shores
because people are going to experience Good Ranchers for the first time.
Some people said that yesterday,
because I sent out this awesome video of Good Ranchers delivering literally 14 boxes of meat to my door.
It is the best thing you could ever have.
and people commented like,
what do you think to your neighbors think of these boxes that you just got?
Like,
we're just like preppers or something,
but,
no,
you know something.
Good Ranchers is just the best.
I mean,
we had like,
Good Ranchers donating steaks,
bagu beef burgers,
chicken breast,
chicken thighs,
bacon,
um,
hot dogs,
like just like all like purely pork hot dogs.
And then something that we rave about.
We talk about all the time.
seed oil free chicken nuggets.
It's going to be so good.
It's going to be so just, yeah.
I just love when people get introduced to them
because once you get introduced to good ranchers,
it's hard to do anything else.
So if you don't know,
they make all their stuff.
No ad ad armament.
No cidop.
No.
Oh, get it.
That's what I meant bar.
And it's it.
Was it last year?
I was going to say,
if we're lucky this year on the getaway,
we'll get another opportunity
for Janelle to bring out a massive pan of C2O-free
Good Ranchers Chicken Nuggets pretty much as soon as it starts raining.
He comes out, hey guys, I brought the chicken,
and everyone just goes inside.
So that's what I remember from last year.
Hopefully we can do that again.
That's funny.
Somebody referenced that, and I didn't understand what it was.
I don't think I was there for that.
I must have missed that.
But that's pretty funny to think about Janelle doing that.
So good ranchers.com is the website.
You can get anything you want there meat-wise.
You can, whatever, I could go on and on about good ranchers.
I'm just going to keep it simple.
It is really, really, really good.
It's delivered straight to your door.
You can freeze it.
You can cook it right there.
It's American Meat delivered.
Our promo code, GRKC, for a discount and free protein add-on.
It's just good.
It's just the right thing to do.
And those are the facts.
That's right.
All facts, no printer.
What AI are you using these days?
Are you going all over the place?
No, I'm still almost exclusively chat.
Okay.
Everyone says Claude is better.
So I don't know why I don't switch.
So I use chat.
It's because they know how to get you like chat just knows.
Chat knows your stuff.
Right?
And I've heard there's like prompts you can get where it's like,
tell me everything you know about me so that I can transfer this to Claude or whatever.
but I don't know something about just like even if Apple music was way better than
Spotify it's kind of like I kind of just like how Spotify is totally it's like it's
user user interface kind of things yeah just familiarity and okay but you're not you're not
going I feel like some of these guys especially when I in Tahoe like some of these guys
are using all these different things for different things in their workflows and stuff like that
you're not you're not messing with any of that no not really honestly a lot of my AI use right now
is like just questions you would normally Google.
I feel like it's just like adult life curiosities of like, hey, I'm kind of confused about
this like old school timer on my pool filter.
Can you explain this to me?
You know, I can get like a quicker answer with AI than I can Google.
So right.
But as far as like my work and I have an agent running in the background, you know, it's kind of like,
I don't know.
Me, Nathan and Tyman can kind of do everything we need to do for the content.
not a lot is needed.
I know.
Sometimes doesn't it just feel like it's like,
ah,
I'm,
by the time I work to figure this out,
I think I,
I don't know if,
I don't know if it saved me any time.
Like,
I don't know if this is really necessary
for what we're doing here.
I don't know.
I just,
I go back and forth on that.
Because this guy,
Ian, my friend,
must tell me,
yeah, you do this and it'll know your schedule
and it'll,
you have a sync up with this.
I'm like,
that sounds like a lot of legwork
to do this thing.
And then it's going to mess something up
along the way.
Like,
it's not going to be seamless.
I think you can't, I think AI is just not super ready for like creative fields yet.
Like it could really automate a lot of things if you worked in the service industry,
if you worked in pest control or, you know, whatever, things like that.
I'm sure you could find ways for it to like automate what you do.
And I know we use it on the back end for like customers and inventory planning.
Like AI is helpful for us.
But as far as like what I do, like I need to edit videos and be funny.
Those are two things AI is like not going to do a.
better job of than a human is right now.
No. Yeah. And I don't think it's really something you can teach it very easily either.
Yeah. Not right now. Yeah. Hey, not right now. No, no. Do you ever say that to chat?
Hey, not right now. Yeah. You need to go upstairs now.
Chat, go go talk to your brother. I'm busy right now.
Oh, my. Are you using it much? Are you doing much for, is there anything with what you
Do you know the word underwriting? Do you know what that means?
People love throwing it around.
Basically, it's just like assessing if a deal is a good deal or not.
Like if it's a good, I mean, it's like kind of calculating the risk behind how much, yeah, your deal.
So like, I think that's what underwriters do when you buy real estate a lot of times for the mortgage company or something.
A lot of times I'm trying to get deals without using a mortgage company.
so I'm trying to underwrite myself, essentially.
And so I sometimes will at least get it, get a, like, the juices flowing on AI with that.
Every once a while, this is, this is where I've, like, realized, like, I'm getting kind of lazy.
Thank you for this.
I, uh, I, I, I just like, I'm like, ah, I don't really want to, like, I know how to explain
this text, but I just, I'll just, like, screenshot and be like, just explain the answer to this question.
Like, like, every once a while, like, when I know it's a little.
little bit like that. I'll, I'll mess with that. But no, not, I use it. I go back and forth. Like,
I haven't used it very much recently. Let's look at what I've gotten so far. Henry, you've shown the,
the baby? I was just looking at some of my chat history. And like yesterday I went through
the car wash in my car. And my car has a button you could press. It says car wash mode.
It's kind of nice. It'll put your car in neutral for you. It'll lock the windows. It'll lock
automatic wipers.
All seems like logical, normal.
That's convenient. That's nice.
But then front center on the screen,
there's a button to fold the mirrors in.
Okay, that's helpful too.
And then next to it is the open trunk button.
And so I just sent a picture to AI and I go,
what do you make of this?
How do you explain this?
Just because I had, you know, like,
I've got 60 more seconds in this car wash.
Like, I'm not crazy, right?
You just needed some affirmation of like,
this is a bad idea, right?
Yeah, I was like, am I missing something?
Like search on Reddit and Tesla forums and tell me why they did this.
Okay, so some things.
I did just look up executive member Costco Hours on here.
I asked it, should I grill chicken breast on a grated grill or flat top?
I asked that last night.
That's nice.
I asked, is Marinerra the same as spaghetti sauce recently?
Oh, I asked it about when I was at Costco getting all these.
paper plates like how many paper plates do I need for this thing like yeah you know like like whatever um
do you ever ask it questions about yourself because you know you've talked to it before about that
i haven't i i i feel like i've had bad luck with that like not very good experience sometimes
it'll like mention that it knows things or like yeah based off this thing you should do this that
you know since you mentioned that you're you know not risk averse you should go for this but i every time
I ask it like, hey, what did we decide on the colors for the, you know, guest bathroom?
They'll be like, I can't pull that up.
It's like, okay, what was, I told you to remember that.
I told you like, okay, we're going to lock in that color.
Anyway.
On Friday, I googled, who's my water company in Gilbert?
Okay.
Sounds like I haven't been to Google that or you, you searched it on chat, GPT.
On chat, yeah, except I feel like, I know we talked about this.
I can't say a few of these because they're related to the Ghostrovers Getaway.
Oh, I said, why is my six-year-old son randomly getting nosebleeds?
Yeah, so we're doing nothing like anyone on LinkedIn is like telling you to do AI and, you know.
Oh, no, yeah.
Oh, the other day, I, you know, Bo's got some crazy long hair right now and we're going to get his haircut tomorrow.
And so I just took a picture of him and just like mocked up a bunch different things for him.
Cool kid haircut designs what it says on the back.
I did have it look at like this contract for deed that this guy sent.
I like it looking at documents and contracts.
It's good at that.
Monthly payment.
Let's see.
12 inch pizza for kids.
Well,
I said, will a 12 inch pizza be enough for four kids ages 9, 6, 4 and 2?
Let's see.
Oh, I just had it.
Sometimes I'll have it like when it's kind of a sloppy, like not super well organized thing.
I'll just like screenshot it or I'll, you know, whatever,
copy and paste.
And I'll just say, how much did I spend on this?
You know, like, so I was like working on budget stuff for Gulf Shores.
I was like, here's all the gifts I've bought so far.
How much have I spent on this?
And it wasn't an Excel spreadsheet or anything.
It was just in a note.
So anyway.
But yeah, nothing crazy here.
I mean, just all sorts of stuff.
Chlorine ball set up, setup guide.
Oh, dude, this happened to me in Vegas.
I kind of got, I kind of, I mean, talk about the opposite of high society.
I was in the Vegas airport and, you know, I don't, I definitely don't fly in Vegas very often,
but I don't fly in general.
But I saw this Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge.
And I was like, sweet, I have a Chase Sapphire card.
And so I went and it's like, oh, we're at capacity right now.
And I was like, I was delayed for five hours or whatever in Vegas.
So it's like, oh, we're at capacity right now, but we can put you on the list.
I was like, great.
And so I put myself on the list and looked it up on chat GPT later.
And I was like, I don't have the right kind of card for this.
And I just had to go back and tell them, hey, I have a Chase Sapphire preferred.
I don't have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
So I'm not eligible for this.
They're like, well, you can pay, you know, $200 for the day pass.
And I was like, I don't, no, I don't.
I'm not, I'm not, whatever the $200 is for, it's not going to be worth it.
I won't redeem that.
no so dude i got kind of embarrassed at the airport i mean this happened probably two or three months ago
or so but i did not know there was a difference in a list and a list preferred
i had never really paid attention to the word prefer i don't know i guess i just thought it was all
the same thing and anyway i went to board the airplane thing in a list coming through everybody
look out and yeah she was like ruder than she needed to be but at the same time she she like
she definitely left an impact on me
where I would go, okay.
Yeah, I am not a list preferred.
Okay, got it.
I never will be.
Oh, I've always been curious, like,
will they even say anything if you're, okay, group two,
bored.
And it's like, I'm on group three.
If I accidentally go, will they even care?
Or will they just be like, whatever, just go?
Because I swear I'd done that before,
boarded at that point, but I don't know.
Yeah, she's like, this is for A List preferred.
And I go, oh, yeah, yeah, I have A List.
She's like, I said A List preferred, you're A List.
And she's talking a little too loud, and she's just really embarrassed me.
There's a lot of people.
Sorry.
Where were you?
Getting the back line.
I don't even remember.
But, yeah.
St. Louis, probably.
Probably St.
Yeah, I'm looking at all sorts of different things.
A lot of hot tub questions on here.
Anyway.
Dude, I'll tell you something that I was Googling is.
So when it's happened?
Two or three weeks ago, I go to the dermatologist.
They remove a little like mole from my forearm.
Kind of forgot about it.
They called me two days ago.
And they're like, hey, we got the biopsy results.
It is like severe, atypical, something like that.
So we're going to need to go in and like re-excision your arm.
We got to get this out of there.
And so I go, okay, great.
When is like your next?
appointment and she was like we could do
August 26th
and I was like oh wow he's he's busy
you know kind of like hinting at like nothing
not not he has no 30 minute window between now
and she goes you well two days a month he does surgery
and then the other day a week he's a general dermatologist
is what she said the other day does he work seven days
a month? In my calendar, yeah, we have. Wow.
She worded it very closely. Something like like two days a month, he is a surgeon,
but the other day a week. Yeah, he's, he's a day a week.
Yeah, something like that. So I was like, okay, can we could do, so there's no way to do
anything sooner. And she's like, well, I could do it. This other girl could do it Friday morning,
but I'm supposed to go to Gulf Shores on Friday. And she's, I was like, I would have to change
my flight. I don't know if I can't. I got to give a talk. I don't even know if I told you this.
like Friday night when I get to Gulf Shores for Friday
University, this thing in Asia we're doing.
That's right. Yeah, I was like, that sounds familiar. Yeah. I don't know
if I can leave late enough from here and get there
into Alabama early enough to still give the talk. Gosh,
this is all happening. And then
she's like, so then I start
chat between like, well,
severe atypical. That's probably
not that bad. Oh.
And anyway.
Yeah, basically, I should get this done as soon as
possible. And she's like, oh, if you got a flight,
just wait until September. I was like, no.
Really? So you're trying to get
done? I am switching to a different clinic and getting this Thursday right before we leave.
Is it going to make it, are you going to be able to swim? I don't know exactly. I think it kind of
depends on how deep they go and, you know, what kind of stitches or whatever they put in.
Dang. Sorry you hear that you're, well, maybe I'm not sorry. Maybe it's a good thing that you're getting it
done, I guess. Yeah, I just way rather just get it done. I don't want to be like a lot of time.
thinking about my potential melanoma.
You spend a lot of time, I feel like, in doctor's offices.
Yeah.
Like, you're really, like, like, you can, like, if someone's like, hey, dude, how's
marriage going for you?
Like, you can, you can say positive, positive, positive, but then I'd say,
she's got me in a lot of doctor's offices, though.
Yeah.
You ever been to the dentist three times in nine days?
Like, I think that's the one thing that's changed about, not truly.
Obviously, you've changed for the better in a lot of ways.
But, like, I feel like, you've been like, you.
have gone to the doctor a ton.
And proof is in the pudding.
Glad Rachel's Book of Me Dermatology
Appointments. Turns out I'm sick.
I'm diseased. Turns out I needed it.
Yeah. Yeah, that's so good.
Yeah. How's the mouth guard?
Oh, don't care for it.
Don't care for it. I could have
guess. What are we talking when we're talking about?
Are we talking like just like like like
Invisaline looking things or what is it?
Yeah. I guess.
of I thought it would be more like a football mouthpiece.
And I guess it kind of is because they did all the custom thing.
And like for being custom,
I feel like it's,
it's like really snug,
which is a funny thing to say about your teeth.
But it's just like,
it's really tight on there.
And it's kind of uncomfortable.
And it's like thick enough like rubber that I can't quite close my mouth
to sleep in it.
I feel like that's the important thing to sleep.
Yeah, there's just like a little opening at the front of my lips.
So, I don't know.
Is it supposed to retain your, like, is it a retainer kind of thing?
It's to stop grinding my teeth.
Oh, that's right.
They say, you know, entrepreneur?
I can tell you don't stop grinding.
That boy grinds, boy.
That's what they said.
TGIF, you know, the grind includes Friday.
That's what I always say.
And grind it's Friday.
Yeah.
TGIF.
I used to have.
that jokingly as like my phone background tgif the grind includes Friday yeah what's up
uh anyway okay give me your take take on this as a non dad um just just in general if this sounds
crazy to you or if this is normal uh so my my buddies i have a few different friends tate and gunner
we've talked about on the podcast before have both recently had children um haven't seen gunner
for like since he's had his third little baby and um he's running all around while his wife
is like home with the kid um like gunner's just kind of like that's his thing is like i'm just
going to take the kids and go while you get to spend time with your uh with with with with ellie
and so i invited gunner over for pancakes datter-day pancakes on saturday morning and i also was like
i'll invite tait and all his like he just had his fifth kid so like i'll invite tait and his
for older kids to come too.
And Tate was going to come, but then Tate's like,
FYI, yeah, we're so in.
F.I, we're all pretty much sick, though.
Is that cool?
And like, like, I think Tate's mindset is like,
I don't know, I go, I understand both sides.
My, my opinion is like, I don't ever want my,
like, when our kids are sick, it complicates everything in our life.
And so I, I'm not trying to.
to like under I understand that sickness is somewhat inevitable but I don't want to intentionally like
have somebody sneeze on me or something. Um and I think Tate's mindset is like, hey, kids are
going to get sick no matter what. Who cares? Like let's just hang out. Like that there's been a few times
where I'm like, where he'll be like, hey, can had he play today or whatever? And I'm like,
that's fine. But I mean, but Bo got sick. You know, he's kind of got a like fever. Oh, no problem.
Just bring her over. Like, I'm like, are you, what? Um,
So that's how he vaccinates his kids.
Like,
Hey,
like that's how you bring him over.
And Gunner,
for good reason.
Like Gunner's like,
hey,
one of us has to bow out.
Like we're,
we're,
I can't like,
I,
especially with a newborn,
like you just got to be more conscious of that stuff.
Where do you fall?
What do you like,
what's,
what's your initial reaction?
Like,
who would you have been in that situation?
To,
I feel like the college version of,
me would have been like, dude, who cares if you're sick? Come on, hang out. And then not since then,
have I ever been like, dude, you're sick. Get over here. Come on. Give me a hug. And then imagine
if I had a kid, I think every kid you have multiplies the sensitivity you should have to bringing
sick people over to your house. Yeah. Oh, no. I would be like, oh, that's hilarious.
Okay, we'll see us some other time. Yeah. Oh, sorry you hear. Yeah. Yeah, dude, we're so in.
just FYI, we're pretty much all sick.
That was the, that was pretty much the text I got.
Huh.
I think there must have been at least one or two typos in there.
Want to try again, bud?
And I go, okay, let me make sure that's okay with Gunner, but I'm like, dude, no, man,
just stay home or stay to yourself, said, go to the park.
I don't know, whatever, but like, anyway, it just cracked me up.
So I, you know, I kind of, I kind of respect, like, I think that there is like this culture of like,
you know, oh my gosh, we're just so scared of our kids getting sick that we're never going to do anything.
And like, I appreciate that Tate is not on that side of the extreme.
But like, don't go the other way and be like, hey, do you mind if we just come over like, you know,
he's running a 102 fever, but it'll be fine.
Yeah.
We swap puk buckets or something.
That'd be fun.
Right.
Right.
So anyway, it was fun seeing Gunner.
He brought the vibe.
I was like, I'll make the pancakes.
You just bring anything to put in.
or on top of the pancakes.
And so he brought, you know, all these fruits and chocolate chips
and chocolate whipped cream that he's like, you know,
asking, ask and how to you know, math problems?
And if you get some right.
All right, third one in a row, if you get this one right,
whipped cream straight into your mouth, you know, all these different things.
So it was fun.
It's fun to see that.
I'm getting excited.
I feel like chief season is usually when we see them a little bit more.
Yeah.
It's kind of gearing up for that.
So it'll be good.
It's got to be fun.
Yeah.
Okay.
What's this?
Oh, my beeper is saying, oh gosh.
I mean, I just got a text is what I meant to say.
Oh, weird.
That it says, hey, Brad, no.
They wrote it like T9.
So it just said, no.
But like no of any soft sheet companies that we could buy from.
Page him back.
Okay.
Beep de-l-l-l-peep.
Yes. Co-D-Z-E-E-R-T-H.
Globe emoji.
Yeah.

Oh, they just page you back.
What did they say?
They said, wow, coziest-e-looking things on their website,
but are they the real deal when you touch them in person?

Jake, what's your favorite cozier thing right now?
I would say, I wish I lived in a colder climate so that I could justify wearing the joggers more.
The joggers probably are my favorite thing.
And then behind that, I would say just like any crew neck sweatshirt or hoodie that they sell.
It's also very soft.
They're clothes.
Yeah.
All the clothes are great.
All the sheets are great.
I'm looking at an amazing large blanket right now that's amazing.
I said it twice.
It's amazing.
It's amazing.
Cozierth.com.
We had a Google meet call with the ghosties last week,
and I feel like, I think Hannah Warner
were showing off for the heavy, like, cuddle blanket or whatever.
So let's go.
That's awesome.
I love it.

So we get the credit for it, please.
We need credit, okay?
And our promo code is GRKC for 20% off.
Cool.
Cool.
Go.
Let me ask you this.
How often would you say you have a,
we'll call it like, this isn't the best term for it, but financial freakout, something like that
where like the calculator app is open, maybe there's pen to paper.
I had one where you say, I go about, I don't know, once every six weeks or so.
Okay.
Let's define it a little bit more because my first answer was about three times a day, I think.
Not truly.
I would say what I do is not financial freak out.
I do financial justification where I'm like, man, I know, I know exactly how much money is in our bank
account. Not that much. But you know what? I have this equity in this. I have this here. I have this
coming in. I have this. We're going to do this. This is going to be good. You know, and we have this,
you know, line of credit here that we can always tap into. And you know what? My family, like,
my parents would take us in if we had to. And you know what? Sherman, Texas is not a bad place to
live. Oh, dude. That guy, okay, okay, the bunker was actually kind of cozy at that house. Okay.
Like, you know what? Who doesn't want a sprinkler system already installed in their yard?
It sounds good. Yeah, the soil was wet for a reason. Yeah. So, dude, I've been sending that to a few
different, like, ghosties, like privately that will mention the crazy Bobby guy. And it is so fun to see
people's reactions to that. Like, like, hey, can you just send me this?
link, I got to see it, and then you'll text it to him.
Oh, I voluntarily send it.
I'm like, well, they'll mention something.
I'll be like, let me send you to it still.
Like, it's amazing.
Sorry, I'm getting off topic a little bit, but did you see Emily Shung?
She commented in the group me.
You need to, we need to go back to the Zillow thing, dude, because, or whatever,
if you look at the picture this guy took, you can see his bare, hairy belly in the picture.
Oh, I think the outline on Zillow.
Hey, Henry, I think this one's all full.
We can't fit any more in there.
there's maybe there's another thing for it okay okay okay okay okay I found the Zillow link
which image do I need to click uh you got to find it but it's it's scavenger at that point um
let's see if I can which session is Emily coming to I'm excited to see or again I want to say
hey I want to see this guy's belly oh you find it oh oh oh oh oh
I was expecting it.
There she is.
In a reflection, I was looking through like windows and doors.
And it's just like the picture of the hand-drawn map has got its stomach in it.
Oh, gosh, that's way grosser.
It's not a reflection.
It's just top-down view.
No, it's just him, baby.
Gosh, no, I feel like he's probably wearing boxers or something.
I don't know what their shorts are.
100%, dude.
Emily.
Yeah, yeah.
What is that fabric right there that is resting on the fold?
the crumpled up map.
Emily.
Okay, so you were saying financial freakouts.
Yeah, and a freakout is not super accurate,
but kind of like a, whoa, okay,
I need to take the headphones off.
I need to scoot back in my chair.
Yeah.
Okay, how much does this cost per month?
You know, it just kind of quickly run through all your expenses
and then try to remember what your income is.
and then you're like, oh, no.
Have I made a mistake?
Maybe that's what it is.
If I made a big mistake.
It's justified.
Yeah, that's what it is.
It's just, it's a justification of it.
That's what I have to do a lot of like, no, this is the right call.
I know it's the right call.
But let me, let me make sure with the numbers again in my head.
Like almost every day in the shower, I feel like I have some, some semblance of that thought every morning where it's like, all right.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, if we do He lock for that down payment and that's six and a half percent.
So it's, you know,
Okay, drive by 12, that'd be $120 a month.
That's not too bad.
You know, whatever.
Yeah, yeah.
Just going through all these different things.
Oh, yeah, dude, all the time.
What spurred this on this time was I got my first electrical bill since moving to Arizona.
Holy cow.
And I was like, oh, we've made it terrible.
Turn off the AC.
Yeah.
Get the ceiling fans going.
Okay.
I got to know, dude.
Because, like, when you see.
said like yeah we're running at 76 degrees i was like that's not that cold but that is like
that thing's running it's still like 35 degrees colder than what it is outside that thing's got
to be constantly running like at least close to it like yeah unless you have a very good and
i'm sure that electric like just in general it costs more in phoenix anyway um i remember
bethke telling me some crazy number for maui that was like oh my gosh
Like, you know, all these expenses they had.
So I want to hear, if you don't mind.
No, I was going to share it.
So the, like, the shock value initially came from me seeing something, $800 and something.
Oh, 800 something.
I was like, is this what's going to cost every single month?
And then I realized, okay, part of that is, I think when we first moved in June.
Okay.
So, oh, July was only 650.
Okay.
But that was still enough.
I was like, good Lord.
That's way more than I was planning on.
And then I'm trying to dive in and see, like, is this the charger to my car?
Is this the pool filter?
There are some variables here that I don't know about.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, who's the real culprit here?
Yeah.
And honestly, credit to the electric company, because they give you a pretty good
breakdown of exactly when and exactly why.
And it's like, no, it's just the AC.
Yeah, it's really hot.
Okay.
It's just unavoidable.
The average temperature for 24-7,
for the month of July was like 97 degrees, you know,
over the course of, yeah, middle of the night, you know, everything.
So I think it's just a really hot month.
It should go down and we'll see.
Yeah, honestly, I was expecting way worse,
not trying to minimize your problems by any means.
But like, I bet we're spending not that much,
but more than at least maybe at least half,
if not two thirds of that right now.
Okay, that makes you feel better.
at least in this house.
Because what's hard and what's hard in your situation as well is like,
you're in your house all the time.
Like,
or not all the time,
but like,
like,
like I can't,
like they have like options,
you know,
like my,
we have eco B.
And it's like,
you can turn it on eco mode where it's like,
when you're not at home,
it won't,
it won't run as much.
Or it'll raise up.
rooms we can change.
Like,
everyone's kind of,
we're here.
We're just all over.
Like,
we're hitting every square inch of this house.
And so it's like,
I can't,
Because on the, it's funny, like the Airbnb houses are so much cheaper than our house.
Because I think they're just not running as much.
Like, people will be gone and it'll know because the smart lock's like, okay, they're gone.
So let's not worry about cranking it up as much.
But our house is just never off.
And I can't be like, Catherine, just turn it up to 80 degrees.
Like, I don't want that either, you know.
So the day after I got.
We turn it up, but not as much.
No, go ahead.
The day after I got the bill, Rachel was still out of town.
And I think that was the day that Isaac and I had two tournaments.
I was like, great, I'm going to be gone all day.
Let's crank this up.
So I'd be keeping it like 75 or so.
I was like, let's go up to 78.
Yeah, let's do that.
And then got home and tried to live in it.
78's kind of warm.
You felt even for me.
That's a little warm.
Yeah.
So anyway.
Yeah, I was just curious if you also do the, yeah, the financial justification.
Yeah, about once a month or so.
Oh, yeah, dude.
You know it's like next level when it's like I got to go to a coffee shop and sit down with a piece of paper.
Yeah, pin and paper is like we're in trouble.
That's when it's like, okay, let's find what's coming up.
Let's find what's going on right now.
Let's write it down in detail.
Like let's have, let's do it deep dive into every single account.
How much do we have?
Like when I'm putting the sense on there, like that's when it's extreme.
Like when I'm not just rounding up and down.
since earlier, so round up on that.
Maybe do we have any Facebook marketplace things that we could find to sell?
Dude, you know what else is bad?
Is when you start, like, going to websites, you remember from like years ago,
you're like, let me just go to robin hood.com and just see if there's anything in there.
We go to coinbase.com and just see if there's anything in there.
Oh, dude, no.
The other day, I was like, oh, not the other day.
This was back when my flip house was not selling.
And so it felt like we had, we did have negative, you know, tons of money.
but like, I looked up like, you know, can I take a survey, a 30 minute survey for $5 or something?
And I was like, maybe that's the answer to my problem is swagbucks.com.
Like, it was just like, just don't spend money.
Like just don't spend any more money.
Like that's the main way you could save, dude.
Like not earn a little bit more.
So. Yeah, it's kind of like trying to lose weight.
And you're like trying to do all these little things to like burn more calories.
really I just need to stop eating as much.
Just, yeah, I need to have raspberries at 4 p.m. every day and that'll do it.
It's like, or just less calories, bro.
Like, just in general.
Just don't eat.
Like, yeah, that's so good.
But it is the beauty of like having a non-fixed income.
Is it like there's always more to earn and there's always ways to figure it out.
But at the same time, you also like, you have to put pen to paper because you don't know
how much you make or how much you made last month.
It's not how much you make this month.
And it's all just up in the air.
Oh, yeah.
It's, it's great.
It's the best and worst thing ever is, you know, yeah, entrepreneurship.
But I mean, and I always have to tell myself, like, if I'm struggling, like, I feel like we're doing pretty well.
And like, as far as a, like, in the society standard, we are making more money than some, like a lot of people.
And I'm like, if I'm struggling, then I need to be so sympathetic to other people that are struggling.
It's like, man, like, we're not living lavishly.
Like, and yet we're still feeling like pinched here.
So, like, other people might be feeling it, too, and I need to be more generous to them, too.
So I go through that phase of it as well.
Like, oh, okay, be more sympathetic to people, you know, because, yeah, gas is crazy expensive,
you know, whatever.
Yeah.
So.
I, for whatever reason, when I moved to Phoenix, I decided I'm going to be a tipper.
I don't know why it's changed it, but, like, what I used to always complain about, like,
coffee shops and the drive-thru and Panera, even when I take my tip-yper, I don't know.
my own order, some switch and I go, you know what? Let them. Let them tip. Let them tip.
So I just let it rip on pretty much every time I get ass now. I go, you know what? It's a $1.75.
Yeah. Yes. Yeah. It's hard. Everybody take a little.
Hear that. It's your money calling. It wants a promotion.

You're richer than you think.
I get, but, but okay, I understand.
And I kind of going back on my other thing.
But like every once in a while, dude, it'll be, we'll call it a, we'll call it a, like,
a breakfast coffee shop restaurant thing where this person that I'm tipping or whoever I'm
I don't know but it didn't feel like they really had to do that much like they're getting
me a pastry out of the thing and it'll say tip and it'll only give options of like 25 28
or 30 percent and I'm like 30 20 and then that that's what I'm a little bit like you know what
no I'm sorry but long my scone out.
exactly
I just
yeah I
I get a little bit
like high on my horse
for that kind of thing
like yeah
no I will say I didn't tip
that place in the airport
that had an employeeless
convenience store
and then they asked me to tip
what is like I can't even like
see anyone that would get this money
other than just like the
the company
at least like Panera
it's like all right you didn't really help me
but I have an idea
who it's going to still
isn't it kind of a bummer
sometimes there's places
that I would be okay tipping that don't ask.
Like, and I'm like, ah, like, let's say, let's say like,
like somebody, I don't know, at the airport, like taking your blog, helping you with that.
Like, I don't feel like they're asking for tips, but like, I don't know.
Sometimes I'm like, you did a good job.
That was really fast.
Or like, whatever.
I just, I'd be, I'd be more apt to give them a tip than anything.
Yeah, you're right.
I don't know.
I think of an example.
Yeah, that's good.
Anyway, let's wrap this episode up
because I just saw my computer is kind of dying.
It'll be fine for the rest of this episode,
but I need to plug it in.
Let's do some reviews and do some mats.
Cool.
Let me search.
We're getting so many good quality emails these days.
Oh, I love quality emails.
Let me find one real quick.
Gretchen.
Shout out Gretchen.
Mitch. Big G. She emailed, hey, Jake and Brad. She knew time I wouldn't be on this episode.
She's one who got him sick. I've been a listener for a long time. I first heard Jake from the
correct opinions episodes and him laughing in the background of Trey's videos. I was hooked from
the very first ghost owners episode. Jake and Brad, your humbleness and goofiness shine. You
perfectly balance being funny, real and strong godly men. What a much needed refresher you have been
to me and others during hard times, your impact is even more than you realize. Us,
The listeners are so proud and thankful that you continue to share,
even though your lives are getting extra busy.
So many mornings,
I laugh so hard,
I cry as I'm getting ready for work.
You guys rock,
Gretchen,
Dirk's.
Quality email.
Great review.
Thank you,
Gretchen.
Yeah.
That's so kind.
That's so,
I try not to ever get used to those kind words.
That's so sweet.
I know.
Like someone like fully known,
just like,
yeah.
I feel known by ghosties sending an emails.
It's like,
yeah,
they get it.
And they're great.

That's my review.
Cool.
Timon,
you want to...
Timon.
Timon's been babysitting my kids
this whole time.
A little...
Spoiler for you.
Oh my gosh.
Dude, okay, let's talk real quick.
The most...
This has happened
probably ten different times
throughout the Ghostroar's career
where I just get so humbled
or so, like, reminded of like,
oh my gosh.
It's just, whatever.
I felt like our Monday episode
last week,
when time's internet was awful and we were so delayed back and forth it was like that was a rough
episode like that one was like same hard hard for me i'm like i don't even know if i could listen
back to that one that one was hard to record whatever and there were multiple comments of people
being like this is an all-time episode this episode's got me dying laughing and it is just like
the most humbling thing when you read those episode or read those comments of just like
it's not, I mean, we just don't know what we're doing.
Or like, it's whatever.
Like, and then there's other episodes where like, oh my gosh, I can't wait.
People are going to comment some hilarious, like, this is the funniest thing that's
ever happened in ghost history.
And it's like, they don't say a thing.
Like, they don't, we don't have anything going.
So like, it's just crazy.
Like how that happens sometimes where people will be like, this is an all time episode.
I'm like, this one out of all of them?
I know.
You know.
We got done with that Monday episode.
And I felt the same way.
I thought, gosh, that was so hard and just tough.
I don't think, I was like, I don't think I can do that again on Wednesday.
Like, we got to figure out something different for this.
Like, yeah, I was like, we cannot go through that again.
That was just brutal.
And then DJ comes in and, yeah, he tells these amazing stories.
I go, oh, ghosties, if you could just get through Monday, we just to be hilarious.
And everyone's like, timing was so funny Monday.
It was all time.
I laughed harder than I've ever laughed.
I had to go back and listen to this part.
at five times. I'm like, what? Really?
So maybe it's because Tymond was saying legitimately funny things and we couldn't hear him.
So who knows how funny he was? We couldn't hear each other the whole episode.
Gosh, it was, it's very discombobulating. It's very hard to like just be like, oh my gosh,
this is, it's already kind of different, obviously like doing it virtually and then like to do it
like that. So I'm excited for next week. We're recording three episodes in person. It's going to be
great in Gulf Shores. So that's going to be nice.
Yeah. Anyway.
Yeah. Okay. Let's
let's end it there. And Ghosties, we'll see you Wednesday.
See you Wednesday. Special guest. Shmores. It's going to be fun.
All the good stuff. Love you guys.
