Chick-Fleigh water, something is, something is in the water.
Really?
Well, I don't know.
Like, not in a good way.
Like, do you get water from Chick-fil-A?
I've gotten everything from Chick-fil-A.
You name it, I've gotten it.
Try me.
I feel like something is spilling into their water tube.
It's not just water.
You're very sensitive to this.
You, uh, yeah, you said this.
you talked about this kind of recently
or like it tasted way too much
like something else was in there.
I don't know what it is.
It's got to be true.
It's like strawberry milkshake or something.
Like I don't know.
It's just a hint, but.
Oh.
Please figure that out.
Is this,
you're kind of intrigued?
Yeah.
Is this an Arizona thing?
Or is this a, like,
like, did you feel like it was tasting the same and off in Kansas
or different in off in Kansas?
No, I've felt this before.
But I feel like the local chick-flay here,
they got a real problem.
problem with their water should be easy.
I think you should go up to the Chick-fil-A worker and say, hey, you probably know what I'm about to say, and then just wait and see what he's going to say.
Hey, I'm sorry, this is probably the most common complaint you get.
Stop me if you.
Yeah.
Tell me.
Did the guy before me just.
I'm sure he's talking about too.
What are they saying?
What's the scuttle butt?
You go to biting it.
you know you're looking through your bag you're driving off and then you're like hey you know we're in
the desert right so you know right so yeah i'd be interested to hear more about that and speaking of
water this is kind of the water water water episode uh monday go sees happy watering um do you have
water break water soft water medium water oh not soft water i'm not i'm not you know in that um
of people. I think that's a, I think, I think unless you inherit soft water, you're, you're,
you're, you're real rich to have soft water. You two premium or soft water can't have both.
Can't have, can't have. What did I hear? Like, I think Gunner one time, you know, classic gunner,
went for the soft water pitch because it was like, hey, we'll give you a free $50 gift card,
Amazon gift card for just letting us come over. And I think he said it was going to be like seven
grand to like upgrade his water to soft water. And he's like, I don't need it that bad.
We'll give you 50 bucks.
You let us sleep over.
Well, you got soft water?
No, we have hard.
Hard.
It's high on the Moes Hardness scale, if I had to guess.
Remember that?
No.
Tim, did you ever learn that?
Is that a gap in your homeschooling knowledge?
I feel like I just heard about this the other day, but I can't remember what it was for.
Oh, it was like a Marquez Brownlee video talking about, like, scratching a phone or something like that.
He's like, anything that's not above a nine on the Moes Hardness scale is not going to leave lasting damage.
He's like, this phone can only be scratched by a diamond or something like that.
Oh, he was pretty good.
I didn't know was Mo's.
I thought when you said Moes, I thought the office.
Or dude, Moe's Southwest Grill.
I haven't had that in a while.
Get out of here with Mo Southwest Grill.
Get out of here with your Iowa, Chipotle.
Get out of here with all of that garbage, dude.
Get out of your Cuedova, dude.
It's Chipotle or nothing for me, man.
Everything you just named sounds so good.
Oh, Cudoba.
Poncheros.
Potcheros was so, and excuse me for saying this time,
because I know this is going to make it sound so bad.
So mid, dude.
So mid, dude.
That place is so chop, bro.
I, yeah, that's good, good on burrito talk.
Let's go back to water.
Mo's hardness scale.
Yeah, I feel like our water is similar to the diamond
on the Moes Hardness scale.
Oh, yeah.
There's just like a you know you could tell them like the your shower head that like you get all those like little calcium deposits or whatever. Yeah. That's real dude. Eventually like you shower and it's just like it's not even a liquid. It's like a solid. Like there's just calcium just hitting you. It's exfoliating. Yeah. Yeah. It's like that soap, which I don't care for by the way. The soap with the grit in it. It feels like dirt. It feels like I'm washing my hands with sand. That's so fair. Like I want to convince myself I like it. But no, I likes that. I hate that stuff.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't care for it.
I don't even know.
I guess it is supposed to be
exilating.
It's supposed to kind of cut open your skin.
Yeah,
dig into the roots of your skin.
That's what sandpapers for.
You don't need soap for that.
I just dry off with sandpaper.
Yeah,
why not?
Dude,
one thing with the old NICU,
I'm washing my hands
like you wouldn't believe.
You know when you go to camp
and you suddenly start brushing
your teeth like crazy
because it's part of the schedule
after every meal you brush your teeth?
That's what it is now.
I don't relate to that,
but yes.
Really?
You would like make the campers.
do it and you're like, I'm fine. I never did that. You were a, you were a strict like, hey,
it says, because in the schedule it did say brush them. And I never, I never had it. I was a,
I think I was after, after, uh, or before bed only. I mean, I had six year olds, dude. It was like,
just survive in advance, bro. Yeah, maybe that is a difference. Yeah, I never thought to
disregard the brush them. I never thought to not do every single thing I'm supposed to.
Anyway, so you're washing your hands a bunch.
I'm watching my hands like crazy right now.
Every time you go in and you're sanitizing.
And so it's crazy how much just like the patterns you get used to.
Like we know which sinks are better.
It's like, yeah, this sink will spread out the water.
But like it's got a better sensor.
But the hand towel, if I had it both ways, you know, I'd choose that sink,
but that hand towel.
And you just, you learn the littlest things after going there for, you know,
over three straight weeks, four straight weeks.
Let's let's, I mean, this is going to be a great hope.
hook, a great teaser, a great cliffhanger.
Let's roll the theme music.
Let's roll the theme music and then let's build our perfect hand washing station.
I'm serious.
I'm excited about this.
Roll it, baby.
Uh, uh, oh, oh, I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random
thoughts in white meat too.
Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat.
So come along.
Let's have some fun and go ahead.
Get on your feet because it's a ghost from a podcast.
All right.
So we got to talk.
I mean, I think for me, there's, there's, I mean, and think about, you guys think about
your priority, high priority things.
I think you got to obviously have a good water pressure.
But I think there's, there's such thing as too much water pressure when it comes to hand washing.
Yeah, I would agree.
You know, like a little too sensitive of a dial.
So I think good water pressure.
I also, what was I going to say?
Shoot, good water pressure.
Oh, and I also really.
value a hot a quick heat up i don't want to wait i don't want to be like is this the hot water is it
coming out you know let me ask you this before we even get into this position i need to know is there a
sensor for yours or is there is there is there a knobs is there a dial what are we working with to turn
the water on um i was definitely thinking knobs i i i don't do you mean knobs you mean like truly
like circular knobs that you spin no good question i mean i but i do want to i don't
I don't want to, I don't want the one in the, the ambiguous up, you know, is lukewarm kind of thing.
His middle.
So like maybe two handles.
Like you want a specific cold one and a specific hot one.
Yeah.
I don't know what your elementary school was like, but we had like, yeah, just like some good old
fashion stainless steel handles on those bad boys.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That were, I mean, that, that it spouted out that water pretty good.
I like that.
Um, yeah, I think I didn't want to meat and potatoes kind of sink as far as that guy, like
faucet.
So yeah, what do you guys think?
I think, I mean, it's my perfect hand washing station.
So it is going to be a sensor.
And the water that comes out is going to be like perfectly.
It's going to be that perfect temperature.
Yeah.
Of warm.
Okay.
Now hear me out.
I think I'm, I don't know if we're allowed to invent new things, but I would like a sensor
instead of one that's like behind the sink or wherever else.
How about a like, we'll call it.
it belt buckle sensor. That way I don't have to, I don't have to do this. It's just like when I
approach the, the counter, as long as I'm standing there, boom, let me have the water.
I like this. And then when it's time to go wash or dry off, then like my body will leave
that spot. You will, you will rotate the torso enough and shoot, shoot your belt buckle at the
at the paper towel dispenser and then it'll shoot that out. Yeah, I have a,
thought towels yet, but water, that's where the sensor is. It's perfectly warm. Okay. So it sounds like
you want, you want the same temperature all the time. I want to be able to control it. I think I'm a
little bit more old school when it comes to my hand. Like the more I'm thinking about, the more I'm like,
I don't think I want an automatic towel dispenser even. I think I want the little, maybe I'd be
okay with it like, you know, doing the automatic one, but I also like the little wheel on the side.
I'm a big fan of the wheel. Yeah, I don't even know if as a society, we've come up
the best way to dispense towels yet.
No.
Because the sensor is finicky and they're like,
the crank, guess what happens?
My hands are soaked.
I go up to crank gravity and the water rushes down.
There's an egg.
I don't like that.
You go to crank it.
You feel like you have to get on top of it to crank it down.
Yeah.
We haven't invented it yet.
Okay.
Okay.
What kind of soap we're talking?
And automatic soap dispenser or straight up, your own pump?
I don't, I don't mind shoving.
Oh, but you're a, you're a shover.
Yeah, like shoving.
Like a pump.
I'm a pump guy.
Yeah, no, I think I would like an open hand.
Yeah.
Shoving palm.
And I think I'm okay with it being the foam version or just straight up soap.
I'll tell you what I dislike is this one.
It's in the, you know, sports arenas.
they never give you enough
I have to go at least two if not three
barely anything like stop skipping on your foamy soap
I was having a conversation with Kyle
the other day about toilet paper
because perfect next
naturally do you transition from one to the next
I have not pooped in the privacy of my own home
it feels like two weeks.
You're saving a lot of money.
I'll say you that right now.
I would kill for some Charmin right now.
Like my body knows when we're outside, yeah, these walls to just like, you know, let her rip.
So I've, I mean, Costco, hospital, pick a ball, facility.
And no one is paying more than, I don't know, a penny for every six months worth of toilet paper they're using.
You got to go, you got to go private coffee shop.
That's the best, that's the best option.
They got better Wi-Fi there.
They got better toilet paper potential.
I'm not saying every single one.
Mm-hmm.
But, yeah.
I think a place like Costco or if you're Walmart.
Okay, you're actually probably going to save like six figures a year on like skipping on toilet paper.
Mm-hmm.
For whatever reason, I'm okay with that.
Okay.
But, yeah, if you're like the pickleball facility, if you're center court Gilbert,
I don't know if we need to be like nickel and diamond us on the toilet paper.
Okay.
Come on.
Elevate the customer experience a little bit.
If there was some super soft Charmin in there, people would be raving about it.
People would that, yeah, people would say, hey, I don't even play pickleball, but I'm a member
there just for the experience I have when I go to the bathroom.
They have Celsius in the fridge and they got Charmin.
So I just go in there as like a convenience store for me.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Yeah, I, yeah, I can't think of very many other spots that are like even somewhat high
quality toilet paper besides private coffee shops.
Yeah. But I think I would, I think I kind of agree. I, I think I accidentally bought Kirkland. I thought I always bought Kirkland for the Ghostie Getaway. I bought Charmin last year and I bought Kirkland this year and I, I apologize to the ghosties. It's not bad, but it's not. Kirkland's doing a lot of stuff right.
They, no, no, no. Listen, seven out of ten toilet paper. It was not, it was not a garbage toilet paper. I don't think anybody left with and more upset bottom than they started with. But like, I do. I do.
think we've done better in the past and we will do better in the future. I'll say that.
Maynick! Maynick!
Part of the Beast is the must-see adventure of the year.
It's just you and me, boy.
One of the most extraordinary on-screen brunch you'll ever see.
I'll get you home. Brad Pitt. Part of the Beast. September 25th. Get tickets now.
Time and any thoughts on your perfect hand washing station?
I've thought about this. I think to solve the problem of the heat. So basically on the left, it's basic, it's a
It's handles, like you said, Brad.
Yep.
But on the left handle, which is the hot one,
there's a little, like, marker where if you bring it,
like, it'll kind of have a little hitch
when it's at the perfect temperature.
It'll, like, stop you.
So it's just a really quick, boom.
And then it, like, heats up immediately.
There's no, like, wait time.
Love it.
The soap is the foaming kind that comes from just, like, a little,
just basically what we have at home.
Just like a nice little, like, pump from the top, foam.
I like that stuff.
Um, and then on your hands way to the, to the paper towel dispenser, there's a sensor on the way.
So you're, it's preemptively sensing you by the time your hands are there, that the paper's there.
That's good. Almost like it should be like if you turn off your water, that's when it knows.
Shoot out that, shoot out that, uh, paper towel.
That's pretty good. Yeah. And the, the faucet itself, I think it's like the high kind that like, that like kind of slopes over.
I don't know why I like those
They're not that pretty
But they just give so much space
For whatever reason brother
Absolutely the same thing
I agree
I was thinking the same thing for whatever
I don't know like that little
Goosneck or whatever you call that thing
Yeah I like it
Yes dude it just it just brings me back to my elementary school
Wet area is what they called it
Which I don't know if they're allowed to say that anymore
But it was like all the rooms
It was like three rooms to this little corner
And then they had like a bathroom thing in the middle
middle of another like grade. So it was like two grades shared one wet area.
Hmm. So. And I'm actually curious. I don't actually know which water is soft or hard,
which because soft to me, soft is like what comes out kind of white, right? Or no? Is there a
color difference? Well, I'm saying like when I picture the different water hardnesses, I think
there's two types. There's the type that just like is coming out. Maybe it's just a pressure thing.
I don't know, because I don't actually, I've been afraid to ask.
I'm like, I don't know what soft versus hard water is.
First of all, don't you ever be afraid to ask about the color of water and the related
temperature to it.
Okay.
I'll teach my kids the same thing.
Yeah.
Don't you dare.
We are impious, all right?
We do not worry about that.
I'll be honest, I don't think there's a lick of correlation between the color and the, or the hardness.
Okay.
I think I'm just thinking of, there's some sinks where.
it's coming out, it's like somehow being
like broken up in a way that it comes out kind of white and foamy.
Not foamy, but like, do you know what I mean?
You know what?
I take back everything I just said.
Because Jake just talked about how there's calcium in hard water,
like a lot of calcium.
And that probably does colorify it a little bit.
I don't know.
But I don't think it's like, oh, you got soft water.
That means you are dealing with a, you know, polar bear sweat or something like that.
Yeah.
Don't confuse it for milk.
Yeah, exactly.
Well, you got skim milk.
No, just soft water in here.
Yeah, I don't think it's anything like that.
I don't know.
I don't know.
The color difference, just like you'll stay like an Airbnb and you get out of the shower
and it feels like you like put conditioner in your hair or something.
Like I feel like you can tell a difference in how your hair feels or even while you're in the shower.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You can like feel it feels like feels like slimy almost.
I always say it's like it feels like you still have soap on your skin.
Yeah.
And that's hard water?
That's soft.
Slimy is soft.
So hard is hard water is good.
Hard is.
No.
No.
Hard's always bad.
But the things you're describing.
sound bad. I don't want to feel slimy out the shower. No, that's the way God intended it.
Okay. I think hard water is like softer on like, dang it. Hard water is bad for like anything
piping related. Yes. And I think it's also bad like skin related. What's Catherine say?
Catherine always talks about if it's hard, then you have zits. Actually, I don't know. I have no idea. I have no idea the skin aspect. But I do know that.
Yeah, it's bad for your pipes.
Your pipes can rust out or, yeah, get like deposits.
It was interesting.
I had to mess with my shower a few months ago.
And it was interesting to see like the calcium build up in there and how that can affect things.
So I'll tell you where else you can see it?
Timon, have you like popped outside today and looked at the pool?
Not yet.
Tymond, by the way, is in Phoenix.
He's in my house.
We're in the same room.
Yeah, it looks awesome.
Your studio.
Yeah, Isaac did all this.
Maybe we'll zoom out at some point, sure, everything.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This happened like four days ago.
went away and then it happened again this morning all over the surface of our pool is like white
looking like debris it kind of looks like um styrofoam got like shredded up and then like tossed all over
the pool but it doesn't sink so it stays on the surface and then talking to chat jbti about it it's like
oh yeah if you have really hard water and you're using chlorine this could just be just like calcium
carbonate deposits or whatever okay but it looks like mold or something and i guess that's also hard
water. So here's what I've learned. Hot tubs are just basically small swimming pools,
you know, and so there's like four different things you test. I don't know. I haven't
messed with there. There's like, there's a series of things you test. I think it's pH,
chlorine, alkalinity, and maybe just maybe one's actually called hardness. I don't know. Yeah.
What is the other one? I don't know, or maybe one of them just is most associated with the
hardness. Yeah.
But there's something that, yeah, like, yeah, I think there's like a way to soften your water, like, whatever that.
I've never had to use.
They gave me like a big packet of like all the different, you know, things you had to put in your pool or your hot tub.
And I've never used that one, the softener one.
So maybe someday we'll have some build up, but not so far.
I don't know.
Hey, it's a water episode.
That's the water episode.
How is, how every day you get in the pool?
I guess maybe not right now.
Yeah.
No, not right now, but at least once a week.
Yeah.
It's kind of nice.
One, it's like kind of a little like makeshift shower from time to time.
Dude, don't ever be ashamed of that either, man.
All right?
Thank you.
I don't, I don't want to hear it.
I don't want to hear the people are like, that's gross.
We're triplets.
We shower in the pool.
That's what we do.
Yeah.
We do everything in the pool.
We're farnies.
That's what we do.
So, no, I don't get in it every day.
But sure is nice to take a dip, though.
We dipping?
You're a dip guy?
Oh, yeah, I did.
Bob of the pool.
Big dip guy.
Anyway, what's going on with you?
What's going on with me?
I have decided I have bad spatial hearing.
Okay?
And by that, I mean, and the only time I ever figure this out is when I can't find my iPhone.
I play the sound or whatever.
So today I actually couldn't find my AirPods,
one of them specifically because I fell asleep in them.
I don't know if you guys ever do that.
If you have a wife named Catherine, she says,
that's not good for you.
And I say, whoops.
Sorry.
Anyway.
But so I could find one, put it back in the case.
I was trying to find the other one.
I was convinced it's like it's got to be underneath the sheets somewhere,
like maybe fell out.
the foot and like kind of tucked in or whatever.
And so I play the sound on my phone and I could hear the sound well.
And I'm like going all around my room because it sounds like, oh, it's coming from that
corner right there.
So I go over that corner.
It's like, oh, kind of.
And then I'm like laying on my bed because it sounds like it's like underneath the sheets.
I'm like, it's right there.
And I'm like feeling around, can't find it.
And then all of a sudden I get up and I'm like maybe it's sound like it's in my closet.
So I open up my closet doors like can't find this darn air pod worth anything.
And I'm just like, this is crazy.
I'm so bad.
it's like it's like bouncing all over the room how is how am i how am i so bad at this like i was getting
ready to call katherine in to be like can you help me find this um so i like go in the other room
i put my hand in my pocket it's in my pocket it sounds like following me dude yeah it was it was like
what the heck dude this is crazy i just heard over my god's side of the room and now it's over here
man it's constantly sounds like close to me that is weird it was wild it like and there was times like
Like I lie down on my, lay down, lie down on my bed.
And so it was like muffled because it was like on my leg.
You know, and so I'm like, oh, it's got to be.
I'm like pushing it down somehow.
Dude, let me make you feel a little better.
When something like that is muffled, it's impossible.
So I'm having a flashback now.
I think this was like 2020 or 2021.
I took a trip with some friends to Hawaii.
I'm pretty sure this is when it happened.
And I think it was Jace Goodman.
If you're listening, I think this was, he lost his phone somewhere.
And so we're able to like call it or make a noise.
And all right, it's not in the Airbnb.
We've pinpointed it.
Oh, oh, we hear it.
Guys, it's in the, it's in the car.
Oh, great.
So we've narrowed it down to the car.
Like you know it's there.
And we still can't find it in the car.
We were like laughing at it, but also like going crazy.
Like, I mean, it's not that big of a space.
We all hear it.
We all know it's here.
You go to the back of the car.
You go, yeah, it sounds like it could be here.
You go to the front of the car.
sounds like could be here.
And then I want to say it was like underneath a like floor mat or some it was tucked
underneath something or in between the cushion of something.
But like yeah, when it's muffled, it's it's everywhere all at once somehow.
Yeah.
It took us 10 minutes to find it in one car.
Oh.
Ready then.
Go ahead.
Yes.
Yes.
I just wanted to get everyone's attention with that really cool thing that I just did to talk
about Main Street Roasters.
Main Street Roasters.
Thank you, Brad.
Yes. Brad's out in the field today.
Doing a live report from Napanee, Indiana.
That's right, Jake. I'm here in Napanee, Indiana at Main Street Roaster's Coffee House,
where they not only have wonderful coffee, they have wonderful people with wonderful smiles.
That's right. You bet they do.
And how is it today?
It's really good. So they have different, they have flavored blends.
here. They also have just single origin
coffees that are just delicious
to the...
So,
sorry, delicious to the taste, buds.
I personally, I'm trying to lock in.
So I really...
Wait. No, it's fine now.
Oh, I thought you're...
Oh, it's fine now. Okay, sorry.
Just the coffee here is just
second to none. I mean, I would pay full price, but you don't even
have to if you go to the
cash register say GRKC make sure you pronounce it and announce it and enunciate it really well sorry
I'm really distracted by the fact that you said I was cutting out so can you hear any of this
GRK can you hear any of this oh yeah yeah no I'm come okay good no you're now you're now
you're fine earlier it was was cutting out but no I just thought they were good okay
GRKC is what Brad's trying to say I think we've kind of lost the feed now
No, so I was trying to say GR.
Oh,
exactly,
exactly.
Just go ahead.
Brad is back.
We'll let him go ahead and finish it.
Okay.
You know what?
He thinks he's cutting,
I'm cutting him off.
So I'll just go ahead and say,
Masture Roasters.com.
The promo code is GRCC.
It's 10% off.
Sitewide.
Sitewide.
I just powered through.
I don't know what you said there,
but I'm sure we're communicating the same thing.
Did we ever talk?
about the Emily Scott AirPod saga?
No.
Oh, this is a podcast-worthy saga, for sure.
Emily Scott.
Emily Scott, Ghostrun, Getaway, Two-Session Ghostrunners Getaway, Girl.
So beat Jake this year.
Yeah.
Awesome.
Just, yeah, wonderful gal, Sam, not Stan.
Opera singer, great memory, hypoglycemic.
That's kind of the big three.
Those are the main thing she wants.
everyone to know about her. So, um, loves the office. Uh, anyway. So somehow, I think Tyler,
somebody texts me like, hey, FYI, Emily lost her or thinks that whenever, um, somebody cleaned
the house in between sessions, her AirPods were still in like her bed or on her sheets or something.
And they got taken. Uh, and I was like stolen or taken, you know, whatever. And she was like,
no, I don't think they were stolen, but I think maybe they got like enveloped up into the sheets.
And she still had the location on them.
Like she was able to see where the location of these things were.
And so, I mean, I was like, okay, let's try to, you know, get these.
So I texted the guy that's like in charge of the property.
And he's like, yep, that's our warehouse that we do all of our, you know, laundering.
And so after pickleball one day, I was like, let's just, it seemed like it's pretty close to here.
Let's just go by and see if we can figure this thing out.
Also, impressive theory on the enveloping.
Yes.
That's, I like you.
And we go and I mean, whatever.
It's not like the Ghost Rose Getaway is some like lavish, like amazing, you know,
five star vacation.
But like we stay in a very nice house.
We, you know, it's just, it's just nice, nicer areas of town that we're going to.
And this area is just like back in the like, like this industrial park.
But then it's like gravel road to this little area.
Like, there's like just, it's almost like it was like four different like garages that make up one big building.
And they were just in one of the garage.
So it was like, just like this shady, shady spot.
And who all is there?
I should, I should know that.
It was definitely Emily.
I think Mitchell Bowser.
Emily was there.
She had one air pod in the whole time.
I can't remember who else was with Mitchell.
I'm so sorry.
Thomas maybe.
Oh.
Was he wearing a du rag?
Was he?
a little bit perverted.
Thomas,
Thomas is going to hate that.
I'm sorry,
that's a joke, Thomas.
Thomas's boss,
that's a joke.
Yeah,
yeah,
chill out,
dude.
Anyway,
he,
yeah,
so Emily and I go into this thing,
this warehouse,
I mean,
it's got 10,
15,
I don't know,
tons of,
like washer dryer,
like commercial size,
like massive things.
Wow.
And,
I mean,
just sheets everywhere,
like these massive bins
that you would imagine
seeing it like a goodwill or something where you'd sort, you know, put all these clothes in or something.
I don't know.
Am I right to imagine kind of like season three, four, and five of Breaking Bad?
Yes, good.
But like, yes, but like a way more consolidated, tight little, like, almost like a long one-car garage, I'd say.
Like, just like.
Of laundry.
Of laundry.
Almost like, you know, the scene from Elf, we're in the mail room.
Okay.
Kind of like something like that.
Mailroom vibes.
Yes.
And there's one dude.
who I think was, he sounded Jamaican, I think,
um,
kind of looked like,
uh, I'm the captain now.
Kind of look like that guy,
Somalian guy.
Anyway, um,
and he was super nice.
We were just like,
hey,
we think our,
our, uh,
headphones are in here.
And when you use,
find my,
whatever,
find my devices for AirPods,
it'll show you like exact location of them.
Like,
it's awesome.
It's awesome.
I had no idea.
I was like,
we're just going to have to like,
look for a needle in a haystack.
And we kind of did.
but we were like moving things around,
moving all these bins.
And it was like,
we're getting closer.
It says seven feet now.
It says five feet now.
It's got to be in here.
It's got to be in this one.
And we're like moving,
you know,
all these sheets.
And Emily's like,
it says it's moving.
It said this,
you know, like,
long story short,
we found those AirPods.
They hadn't been washed yet.
And she got them back.
So it was,
it was pretty awesome.
It was pretty like,
that you didn't expect to do that on your vacation
that you spent all this money to come to.
So,
but it was a great experience.
find my devices is so nice. I mean, even if it's not your own device, like I can find Rachel's phone
if we lose that pretty easily from my phone. I don't have to log into her stuff or anything.
And if like it knows height, it'll be like, it looks like it's below you. Like, oh, yeah, they've come a
long way. Like, I thought it was awesome that they just played sounds. Oh, like, that's nice.
Now you can really see, like, exactly where things are. So anyway, it was, it was electric time with
Emily. Because I mean, I think we both thought like, I don't think you're getting those back. That's not
happening. Wow. But we got it. So good times. And I bet there were some aeropods in the treasure
room. So, you know, there sure were. There sure were. If she needed to. Yeah.
Have you watched any of a Stalswist's, uh, session one video yet? He has a highlight video.
Didn't even know it was out. Group me. Check it out right now. I was good. Um, gosh. Yeah. He did a great job,
of course. It was so fun. Cool.
I'm excited to see it.
Yeah, I had no idea.
Yeah, it's so fun.
I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm just not locked in on my phone right now.
I just, football season is here.
I don't know anything.
Yesterday, well, first of all, I traded Gabe Oliver, Tua.
And then he goes, hey, did you know Tua wasn't even playing when you traded him?
I go, I'm learning right now.
He's not, I have no idea.
I don't know who is, who is the backup and I saw that trade and I almost said something.
Like I saw it like three hours after it happened like not like or you know like I saw it once Cooper Rush was playing for Atlanta
But I was like I don't think Cooper Rush was the guy that was supposed to start this game
And I looked and I saw you traded him and I was like yeah
That hurts yeah I just too bad I mean I tried to watch a little bit of football yesterday and
Aaron Rogers who plays for the Steelers yep that's right yeah
You need that.
I did know that, but it was like, yeah.
He completed the pass to Wilson.
And I was like, who is Wilson?
And they go, I'm thinking maybe Garrett Wilson got traded.
Maybe they both came over from the Jets at different times.
And then they go, I mean, this is a guy.
And then I'm thinking, oh, no, it's not Garrett Wilson.
This is probably just like some rookie.
I don't pay attention to college football.
And then they go, this is the guy the Steelers have been waiting
on for the last three years to develop.
I go, this guy's been around three years.
Who is this Wilson?
His name's like Roman or something.
Ronan.
Roan.
Rural.
I don't know who that is either, to be fair.
Okay.
Yeah.
It seems like a four stringer or something.
Maybe not.
But yeah, I'm just, I'm just missing things.
So, yeah, I'll have to watch a video.
Okay, let's see, let's see how bad your knowledge is of NFL.
Because surely you know a little bit, because you've done a little bit
of fantasy football by now.
Yeah, that helped a little bit.
Like, who does Malik Willis play for?
Oh, I saw this yesterday.
I would not have known, but I did see this yesterday.
I think he starts for the dolphins.
That's right.
Yeah, who does?
Surely you know Kirk Cousins.
Yeah, I think he had a decent day for the Raiders.
Yeah, that's right.
Try to think of other, like, a little bit more on the...
J.J. McCarthy, who's he played for now?
Wait, still the Vikings.
Ah!
I was like, wait.
Pretty good, though.
Pretty good.
Who's the starter for the Cardinals?
I don't think I would have known had I not lived in Phoenix.
And we're like, who's our guy?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We're like, dude, I have no idea.
I have to look it up.
I don't know who, but I think Jacoby percent had quite a day.
Do you know who the coach of the Cardinals is?
Last name is good for me.
Last name is good for you?
Yeah, that's enough.
His last name is okay.
Like, you don't have to, you can, you can say, last name is good for you.
First name is, was it?
No idea.
Kubiak.
Matt LaFleur's brother.
I don't know, even know his first name, but LaFleur.
So we have two brother coach duos now.
Where is the other, where are the Harbaas?
We're both the Harbaas.
I was going to say San Diego.
Chargers?
Yep.
Raven still?
No, he got fired.
Really?
Yeah, he's on the.
Giants now. Giants just beat the Cowboys in deciding fashion last night.
I did see Chiefs fans being like, this is not a good look because I think Matt Nagy's
like running the Giants offense. Yep. Yep. But you know, I, yeah, just wait. Just give them time.
They'll figure it out. Yeah, we're recording this on a Monday. So the Chiefs play tonight.
So you guys are listening to this a week late. I'm so in on the Chiefs. I'm so, I'm so ready for people
to be like, oh yeah, we forgot about Patrick Mahomes. Why? Why?
Why do we forget about him?
And I'm going to say, yeah, exactly, dude.
Dude, I listened to that podcast that Gunner recommended us.
Did you check that out?
No, not yet.
Maybe I will today.
Honestly, just take 10 minutes.
Just the next 10 minute drive you have.
Listen to the first 10 minutes.
I think that's where the heat is.
It's so good, dude.
Yeah.
Because Nick Wright, he's just, he's logical.
He makes great points without being, like, ridiculous or too emotional.
But the only thing I'll share, he said a lot of good stuff.
but he was like, everyone loves Josh Allen.
No one can get enough of Josh Allen.
This guy's never been to a serve ball.
He's never even been first team all pro.
He goes, what is Josh Allen's signature win?
And Bill Simmons sits and thinks they're,
I mean, there's like five seconds of silence.
And he goes, all I can think of is 13 seconds.
He goes, exactly.
His signature win is a loss.
The best game of his career.
He lost to my homes.
Yeah.
So it's great.
It's a great moment.
They had a really good game yesterday.
I don't know if you saw that.
And for people listening.
We like Josh Allen.
Chiefs fans for the most part, I think, are cool with the bills and Josh Allen.
Because he doesn't have a signature win against the Chiefs yet.
Maybe that's why.
Yeah.
Because the mayor of Buffalo wasn't like really annoying on Twitter.
What you just described, though, of like, you know, I tried to keep up with football a little bit or something, but it's just hard or something like that.
That is just, I think, a microcosm of fatherhood or just parenthood.
Yeah, it's not going away.
No.
Well, either either you're a good dad.
or it goes away.
You know what I mean?
Or it doesn't go away.
Like you can make a choice.
You can be on your phone all the time and like, yeah, try to stay up to date on all the
trends and all the, you know, play FettyWop or whatever the trend was that
Timon said one time.
You know it, right?
I'm chopped.
Right.
You can be a good dad or listen to FettyWop.
No, no, you can still listen to FettieWap.
You still know the trends of Fettie Wop.
Fettie Wap.
How did you pull that?
I mean, that guy was shot out of a cannon in, what, 2017, and then haven't heard from him since?
No, no, Tyman.
No, tell him.
There's like, there was a trend of listening to that one song of his on a JBL speaker that,
I want you to be mine again, baby.
That song?
Yeah.
I don't know any other things by him.
But that is.
You didn't even know about the trend.
Jake, you're so cooked.
You're so.
You're so.
I'm feeling a tad chopped right now.
That was a good Fettie Wop impersonation, though.
because that's all he's known for is the,
like extending the H's on a yeah.
I'm not going to sing it,
but you're good at it.
Let's see one more time.
Thanks.
What was the part that,
just sing that same song again?
I want you to be mine again, baby.
Aye.
Yeah, what it?
Oh, last week somebody was trying to figure out
a restaurant to go to and I was like,
oh man, I don't know.
I don't have.
I don't have any recommendations in Kansas City that are like even remotely new.
Oh, this cool artisan grill just popped up.
The influencers I follow were talking about it.
They were like, look.
Yeah, they were like Googling and I was like, yeah, maybe.
I don't know.
Could be.
It could be good.
Haven't been down to that area of town too much these days.
You know, Trey and I made a Mood Swings video back in the day that it seemed like people
really related to.
I forget how we went about it.
But basically it was like, yeah, I suck at golf.
You know why?
It's because I'm a good dad.
right yeah and then just like went down that whole path of like checking out on your wife and whatever like
i don't have time to be at the range five days a week i don't know i have that crisis not crisis i have
those thoughts at least once a year of like i kind of want to get into golf and then it's like
and then you really go down the rabbit hole of like even if i kind of played a lot it's so much
it's so much time away like you know like it's like five hours even if i played
once every twice a month.
That's a long time that I'm just like gone.
It's like, do I just not have, like, do I not work very much?
Or do I just not see my family on the times where I'm not working?
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I mean, thankfully, pick a ball is my job because I think if it wasn't,
it would be hard for me to like feel good about sneaking off to just like go play this
hobby or whatever.
But you can play that for, you can, you can have a fun, funfilled hour of pickleball.
Yeah.
Like golf, you can't do that.
And even if you play twice a month,
guess what?
You're still going to suck at the end of a year.
Yeah, it's not enough.
It's not enough.
You have to play so much and it's,
you're still going to be bad.
And so it's like,
why am I even kind of doing this?
Like, why, why am I doing this?
So.
Or the alternative is like,
hey, well, actually best way to get better,
just go to the range 30 minutes a day
and just only go to the range.
It's like, well, how fun is that?
Just never golf with my friends.
Yeah, I'll get marginally better.
I was going to say,
I do great on the range sometimes
because I'm not aiming for anything.
And then I'm like, oh, snap, this is actually a lot harder in real life.
Yeah.
So anyway.
Anyway.
So anyway, that's what's going on with me is you can't hear anything.
Water episode.
Let's see.
What else?
I'm locking in.
In what way?
Getting healthier again.
I feel like I've kind of fallen off recently of like water episode.
So just haven't been like as discipline with drinking water, haven't been as discipline
asleep, having been disciplined with eating right, exercise, you know, all of it. So just locking in.
I told Catherine on Friday, I was like, FYI, locking in on Monday. So, you know, about four hours
into locking in so far. But we're locked, baby. Okay. Give me some, some smart goals. What does it
mean to lock in? So, I mean, to me, it's like very elementary. Like, I don't want to do too much
or too crazy of things. I just want to do easy, hard things every single day, if that makes sense.
Easy hard things.
75 easy.
75 easy.
No, a 365 easy.
Yeah.
Easy hard things like.
That was running a mile.
I think that's what I compared it to.
That was 365 easy.
Yeah.
I think that's at least medium.
That's not.
Yeah.
But like,
like just very,
very attainable.
Things I was doing before,
honestly that I've just like gradually gotten away from.
And then like if I'm not intentionally doing them,
I'm not doing them well.
So like intermittent fasting.
which is like hard but also not.
It's just like don't eat.
Yeah, distract yourself.
Like that's not a hard thing to do as much as it's just a hard thing not to do.
I guess if that makes sense.
Intermittent fasting.
Drink a gallon of water every day.
Go on a walk for 45 minutes every day.
Read my Bible every day for at least 15 minutes.
Like just 15 minutes.
Like just go for it.
Have intentional time with Catherine and the kids
every single day, 30 minutes, which is like, you know, bare minimum,
but at the same time, sometimes it's like, am I, was I intentional at all the day?
Well, oh, get seven hours of sleep at minimum.
Maybe that's it.
And just like, I don't have like specific, like eating, I mean, just eating better.
I think I know how to do that.
Like, but if I'm intermittent fasting and then eating better, like higher protein, less carb kind of
stuff. But I'm locking in, baby. So we're going for it. How do you do with your fiber intake?
Oh, fibrous. I don't know. That's not something I've ever focused on. So I don't know.
What all has, I know vegetables have fiber? What else is fibrous these days besides just getting it
somehow? Prune juice. Okay. Fruit, veggies. No, no prune juice in the diet so far.
Oh, so you're, okay, you're not locking in, like, I thought you were.
Oh, you're not locking into the toilet like I thought you were going to.
Yeah, I hear, I hear that fiber, it does feel like fiber is the trendy, the trendy new thing.
It was like, protein obviously is like big now.
Like, I think protein, everyone's like marketing their stuff is like protein this many grams of protein.
It's like, that's not that much protein.
But like, yeah, fiber.
Yeah, it does seem like fiber is the new one.
What are you?
Are you fiber in?
Oh, just some of my recent toilet paper escapades have got me, got me thinking about some fiber.
Like, how does this work?
Man, dude, I've talked about it before.
I'll talk about it again, cracklin oat brand, unbelievable cereal, absolutely slept on.
But you, it like self-regulates how much you can have because if you, if you go for a second bowl, you will regret it for days.
There's so much fiber in that thing.
I got a buddy who his he was like dating this girl at the time now married with five
now married five kids we call him military Bob he whenever like he was first like getting to know
his in-laws when his girlfriend's parents at the time they had him over and they had these
five or one bars like out like yeah if you want you know something to eat and he's like was really
hungry. And so he just like had like three of them and didn't know that they were fiber one.
Like they thought they were just like regular granola bars.
Had some experiences at her house. So, um, just be careful with the fiber, you know.
They'll regular overdo it. Yeah, it'll humble you. All right. Hey, uh, let's go to cozier
dot com slash ghostrunners in our heads real quick. Are you there?

This week in this house,
Timon's actually only staying here one night,
and then he's getting an Airbnb with Scott.
But Rachel Rohrabacher is staying in this house this week, all week long.
I made sure she has cozy earth sheets on her bed.
Yes, smart.
She is the favorite to win,
mixed doubles, women's doubles this week.
She is likely coming away with at least one gold medal this week.
But it will all be a failure if I don't hear.
What were those sheets in the bed all week?
What was I sleeping on?
That's the only goal this whole week is to hear some type of
holy sheet-based feedback from her.
That's the goal.
I will report back next week.
I love that.
Cozyirt.com slash ghostrunners.
KC 20% off.
Go ahead and go out of your mind,
come back to reality. We're no longer on the website.
That's right.
That's right.
Something that I just can't shake
that's been on my mind for like two days now
is an Instagram reel
that I saw that I found so funny.
Oh, I hope it's the same one.
Do you think it's the same one?
I have one.
Would the odds be?
I don't.
I think you would like this, but I think it also could be
and I'm sorry, but it could be old news.
just saw it recently.
Hey, I don't even know about Fettie Wop trends.
So. Thank you.
All right.
Go ahead.
What is it?
How all baseball announcer sound?
Dang it.
Not even closer.
This sounds funny, though.
What's yours?
It's this guy.
I think his tag is like live, laugh,
Loy, because that's his last name.
Okay.
But he goes out in public with his wife.
It holds his phone up and just talks extra obnoxious.
like really cheesy and just goes,
go ahead, babe, this coffee's on me.
I've seen this.
Get whatever you want, babe.
It's on me.
And we'll just go and do it and just embarrass the heck out of her.
And like, we'll make everyone in line like, like, turn around and like stare at it.
So his wife is there in person.
He's holding the phone up to like film his good deed, basically.
Yes.
And like, it gets like way over cheesy about it.
And like, it's like, you.
usually like a pretty quiet line. He's like,
go ahead, babe,
get double steak. This Chipotle
is on me.
And she never sees
it coming. Like she's always like in front of them, like
staring straight ahead. And like
everyone's all she'll like like stop, stop,
you know, whatever. It's so
funny to me. I
show it to Catherine and she was like,
I would be the same way as that lady, like
that girl. So anyway.
Okay.
That reminded me for whatever reason. That's not even the
baseball announcers thing, but another real I saw, which time I saw that you liked it too.
Okay.
It's another one in the category of like, I've thought about this since then, which how many
Instagram rules do you see?
It's rare that like one sticks with you.
But it looks like it's a podcast clip and they're talking about Martin Luther King Jr.
You know this clip Simon?
And I think he's like rattling off like it's almost like he's doing like a citizenship
test for this guy.
Like he's going through like easy questions.
He's like, all right.
And what do Martin Luther King do?
He's asking a black guy.
And he's like, what do you mean?
What do you mean?
What do you mean what Martin Luther King do?
You know what he did.
And he almost dodged the question.
Like my first time watching him, I'm like, oh my gosh, is this black guy not know who MLK is somehow or something?
Like it's like a little bit of like, come on, you know what he did?
I don't have to say it.
He goes, no, what did Martin Luther King do?
And they go back and forth a little bit.
And then he goes, he fought for civil rights.
And then the white guy is a host.
He goes, it says, says here made a big fuss about nothing.
the way he delivers it is like correct answer is no he just made big fuss about nothing so good that's
good um talk more about the MLB one all right so this is just it's one of those things like this is like
just pinnacle of comedy when someone says something that you've never thought to like observe
before and then you realize like oh my gosh that's so relatable that's so true so this is just a guy
driving in his car the title is how all baseball announcers sound
that's a foul
wow
bival the son
about a final sound
that's a
that's great
that's so good
Rachel I've just been
just been saying gibberish for each other
for the last two days
because of that
Bavitabab bow bow bow bow bow
It was even great that it was like
And I don't know if this was how it sounded on your phone
But like translated in that speakerphone
To me and the way I heard it was like a little bit muffled
Like a radio
AM radio yeah
Just like just a little bit less clear
Oh that's awesome
Yeah
There's a I mean one of the Royals announcers who's
I think he's already in the baseball Hall of Fame
But like it's super old
Denny Matthews
Is so unemotional about announcing
Really?
Listen to him?
Oh, yeah, it's just like, like, there's, there's, there's one time where Alex Gordon hit a game winning home run, walk off home run.
He's like, it's day, Bennett's gone.
Royals win it.
And it's like, what?
That's it.
Yeah.
So, but yeah, he's, he's the man.
He's dating or he's married to like a 35 year old, I think, and he's got to be 80 years old.
It's kind of wild.
I don't know if it's that much of an age difference, but yeah, pretty, pretty wild.
so that guy's awesome
that guy knows how to score
that guy I look up to him
talk about a double play
deep and gone
Denny wins it
he's probably just
you know pretty chill
pretty chill guy
I bet they have a lot in common
yeah
they have a lot to talk about
Fettie Wap
yeah
wow
I held it dude
um
uh
babbavitavavav
bau
bau
bough
bough
I like
I like the idea of like
yeah it gets so emotional
and then there's just a couple of like really slow like
how about about a ball ball.
You know like,
ball one outside,
you know,
kind of thing.
Let me see what else I got written down.
You got anything else?
What else is going on?
You know, we already talked football a little bit.
Let's go ahead and just get the last thing out of the way.
I did see a lot of discourse online.
I want to get your thoughts,
time and thoughts on the Rams travel plans.
Have you seen all this?
I am infatuated with this.
It is kind of fascinating.
Yes.
Yes, dude.
And I want to hear your, yeah, give the synopsis
and give me your opinion as a world traveler first.
All right.
Yeah, here's what the scenario is for now.
And correct me if any of these like facts
or maybe wrong or whatever.
I don't, I'm not super well versed in it.
But I just, I think it's so interesting.
First game of the year for these two teams.
It's week one.
The Rams and the 49ers play in Melbourne, Australia.
I think the first time the NFL has ever played in Australia.
Correct.
First I've heard of it.
And I guess somehow the Rams knew about this two years ahead of time.
They were told that you're in 2026, you're going to be playing in Australia.
So they, I think, I don't know how many staff members, but multiple staff members.
It was their job for the last two years to study, to go back and forth to Australian back
and learn what.
is the best way to adapt your body for an NFL game for when the time comes. Oh, cool. Because
the time difference is crazy, right? Yeah. And like the international date line, I remember,
you struggled with like, understand anything. Yeah, you go ahead in time and yeah. Yeah, what's their
turnaround time? Like how, like, how far ahead or around? Or just like, how much time do they
have to kind of compensate or like adjust their body? That's great question time. Well, because it's
week one,
theoretically,
they could go there as early as they want.
You know,
you're taking players away
from their families.
There was no rule,
though.
Like,
you,
it wasn't like,
oh,
the NFL said you can only be there
a week in advance.
Is that what you're asking time?
Kind of.
Yeah,
just like,
I guess it makes,
yeah,
that is nice that is the first game.
Yeah,
I mean,
their last preseason game
before that was,
I don't know,
So they could have
plenty of time there before.
Yeah.
And because they played early,
and they played on a Thursday,
their next day is probably not until Sunday.
You know,
they do have plenty of time to come back too.
So yeah, that's the word going around is they spent two years studying this.
And what they found is the best solution is to get there as close as possible to the game.
Like to get there and play the game before your body has time to adjust and then get out of there.
That is what they found.
The Rams this year are massive Super Bowl favorites.
more than I would say most teams ever are.
Maybe in the Patriots, Tom Brady era,
they were like massive Super Bowl favorites,
but the Rams are just kind of a super team,
which is hard to do in the NFL these days.
Yeah.
And they got smoked like, I don't know, 35 to 10 in this game.
The experiment did not work at all.
They got a literated.
The other team got there 10 days early or whatever.
I don't know how long time.
I don't know how early they got there, but they did it right.
Okay.
I agree.
Obviously, short term, they did it right.
But I'm curious.
When you get home, how long does it take for you to acclimate?
And maybe you're a little bit of anomaly because I feel like you turn around and are just fine pretty quick.
But like that is what I am curious about.
I guess that's fair.
The Rams are probably more well adjusted to now be back in America.
Because they went to Australia, played the game, and basically left.
Yeah.
Which is also just kind of a bummer.
Like all the fun things about just playing on location you probably don't get at all.
which I understand that's not the main reason they're there to get to experience Australia.
I'm kind of surprised the NFL didn't make them go earlier to be like,
hey, we're trying to grow the NFL in Australia.
You need to be here three days early to do this press event, to sign autographs, to do this thing.
It's like, hey, we'd love to bring the NFL to Australia.
The Rams are going to be here for about six and a half hours.
Yeah, that's, I mean, because I know that the 49ers did all those press things.
They went and did all that stuff.
And that's, that's probably exhausting, too, like, to an extent.
like or you know but yeah i i'm because yeah in the short term it was like oh they are so
wrong for doing it this way but i was so enamored by it like because you hear they got this
massive like they got the biggest jet they could get yeah like the biggest commercial jet that's ever
existed every single person got to lay down yeah but wow i've never laid down in a airplane
well i've i've gotten like a five-seater to myself one time like a five-seat row so i've laid down like
that, but I've never had those kind of seats or those kind of beds, whatever. But I've heard they're
not that big. And I've heard that NFL players often are very big. That's a good point.
Like if you're six foot six, like, yeah, are you really sleeping that well? Also, it's 15 hours or
something like that. You're not sleeping for 15 hours. Yeah. And so that that's where it seems like
they didn't consider everything was like, hey, it also just kind of tires you out to travel.
in general.
Like, I don't care if you've stopped in Hawaii or something.
That's not a bad thought.
Like a quick, quick stretch, quick dip, get back in.
But that I think is the, I don't hate the idea of like, hey, I know we stayed up until
basically equivalent to 2 a.m. last night and we're getting up, you know, in four hours to go
play football.
I think the NFL players can probably do okay on minimal sleep.
I bet a lot of NFL players, for a multitude of reasons,
don't get very much sleep before they play.
That's also a fair point.
It's like week one of the season.
Like you're going to have so much adrenaline.
Like you can maybe power through anything for three hours.
But the fact that they lost in such epic fashion,
I think calls all those into question.
It's like do two years of research.
Yes.
Yeah.
I just loved the idea because I was talking to a guy at my church.
Shout out Corbyn.
He listened to the podcast.
You know.
Corb on the Cobb.
Corb on the Cobb.
I asked him, I was like, you know, what are you up to this week?
He's like, oh, I don't know.
Or I said, what's new?
He's like, not much.
Going to China on Monday.
I was like, oh, that's a big deal.
But he's gone multiple times for work now.
He's like, I'm only going Monday through Friday and it'll be nice to not go for very long
because then I won't have to, like my body won't adjust as much.
And so it's not going to be as hard getting back from it.
So that's what I'm, that's the only silver lining I think you can say for the Rams
versus the Niners.
Like, let's see what.
happens in the next week or two if there's any sluggishness from that yeah maybe we're sending matt
to china this week okay what's that is it a movie big big trouble in china big trouble a little china
big we've got we've got trouble in china so he's crouching china hidden hidden trouble it is
crouching china yes yes um time and you ever seen that movie crouching tiger hidden dragon no
i've heard of it though what is what could it possibly be about zoo probably
Yeah, just hide and seek at the Chinese zoo.
Hide and seek at the zoo.
No, I don't know.
Honestly, I don't, I've never seen it,
but it's like famous for this cool thing they do,
like where they like freeze it and then like,
I don't know what the camera does,
but like zooms around it.
Anyway, it's like a martial arts.
Yeah.
They fight in it.
Cool.
I wouldn't be surprised if I've like seen clips or something.
It was PG-13 and I was probably Tim when it came out.
And so I was like,
I can't see that.
not allowed.
Yeah.
Not allowed for their like five years.
Shoot.
So.
Hmm.
Anyway,
that's Ram's travel plan.
It was just,
it was kind of fun.
Just.
Yeah.
Playing,
playing it back and learning what they did and what they should have done differently.
No,
I was pumped about hearing all that.
I thought that was really cool.
What I wrote that?
I had,
I had a rude awakening a few nights ago.
Would anyone like to hear about that?
Oh, boy.
Uh,
yep.
bud. So lately, I feel like it's for some reason gotten worse as of as of late and I don't know
what to do about it. I need to figure that out. But I just will be driving home from something
somewhat late and I am just unbelievably tired. Okay. I just like I just can't get a grip. Like and so
it's to the point where occasionally I'll pull off somewhere to sleep for like 10 minutes.
I'll set a little alarm like just as a little boost to get me home because I'm like, yeah,
I, if I'm driving somewhere, if I'm driving home that late, I don't need to be home by a certain time.
I'd rather probably get home a little later than die. So I was driving home from my friend Ben's house
a few nights ago and it was probably like 1 a.m. And I was like getting super tired. So I pull off into
Stillwell Station, which is like seven minutes from my house. That's how tired you were. Oh yeah. I was like
I can't, I can't risk this. I mean, that's like basically home. Like yeah. Oh yeah. Super.
close to home.
Yeah.
But I was like, man, I just feel like I'm gonna.
And even if I wasn't going to drive into a ditch, I was like, this is just miserable to try
to keep my eyes open.
Take a little nap.
So, I sleep for 10 minutes, wake up, I'm like, and I'm still pretty tired.
I'll sleep for 10 more minutes.
So go back to sleep.
And I am woken up by knocking at my window.
And I like jump awake.
And there's just like a cop like looking in my window like sternly looking down to me.
And I'm, and I just like, I've thought about that since.
I hate being woken up that way.
I hated every bit of being woken up that way.
That was so intimidating.
Was it, was it, was it, one of those like, flashlight taps on the window or was it just a, I'm not sure because I was, I was awoken by the sound.
But I wasn't sure if when the sound happened, I was awake enough.
I can't remember what it was, but it was just like, it definitely wasn't a light little, hey.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey,
bud.
And so I just remember
he's just like,
hey,
hey,
what's,
what's up?
And I'm just like,
I,
I was just,
you know,
I'm,
I'm,
I'm,
I'm,
I'm,
I'm,
sleep,
sleep in a bed,
at Ben's house.
Yeah.
One more alarm.
Tim,
minutes.
It was just like that.
I'm just like,
I was,
I was just got,
he was really tired driving,
sorry,
I was really tired driving home.
I live like pretty close to here.
Like,
like,
I'll show you my house if you want me too.
I can take you there.
It's like three minutes away.
And so he's just like,
he just, he seemed so,
he's like, all right, I guess.
I guess you can do that.
Just get home safe or whatever.
And I just like,
I remember being so flustered.
I can't remember.
No, I think I would have turned my car off.
So like to talk to him,
I'm like, I can't roll down my window.
So it's like so awkward in the moment.
I've woken up five seconds ago.
I'm like, opening my door.
Start my car to talk to.
You opened your door.
I just, like, kind of cracked my door open and then I just kind of like, like, slowly inched
your head out.
Like, I know.
I'm just like, I don't know how to do this.
I don't even know what's going on yet.
Wow.
So, yeah, that was like, that was the scared at, probably the scariest I've been woken up.
Just because just like unexpected.
Were you, uh, on your back on your side?
I was fully reclined on my back.
Okay.
in the chair.
So again,
just a vulnerable position
to be woken up in.
Oh, yeah.
I didn't love that.
But yeah,
he wasn't mad or anything.
He was just like,
hey,
just making sure you're okay.
Yeah,
he seemed,
all in all,
he seemed chill.
Besides,
you know,
first impression
wasn't amazing,
but.
What is,
what is the legality
to sleeping in public?
I don't know.
That's what I,
I suddenly got worried.
I was like,
surely,
I feel like this is fine.
It's just like an empty,
no one's getting,
like I'm not,
in anybody's way, but I'm like parked there, you know, I guess for 20 minutes.
I don't know. I don't know. I guess that's like, would that be considered loitering or like,
that's a private property? Right. It could be. Yeah. I don't know.
Like, but if you're, if you're sleeping on the street, like if you're parked on the side of the street,
does that, I don't know. I saw a guy sleeping in McLean's the other day and I was like,
respect. That guy, he was probably, you know, 80 years old, just, just snoozing there. I was
Like I don't know if he's meeting somebody or what, but about 20 minutes later, he was still sleeping.
And I saw him later, like an hour later, he was awake.
And I almost said something like, good nap.
Do you, have you ever struggle with that, Jake?
I don't know if I've talked about this on the podcast.
This is exactly the same thing happened to me back in the day, though.
I had to lead a small group, like 5.30 in the morning.
Yeah, before middle school at these kids.
And so at the time, my car had a lot of car trouble.
And on the way home, we were in traffic, my car would overheat.
And so, yeah, basically it was just getting so hot that I couldn't drive anymore.
So I pulled off on like an underpass.
It was on the highway.
So not exactly still well station.
But I was like, I can't do anything until my car cools down.
I'm pretty tired because I woke up so early.
Let's take a little nap.
And then, yeah, I woke up to police officer knocking on the door.
I said, oh, we got a call.
There was like a dead guy on the highway.
I go, oh, that's crazy.
Yeah, no.
He's like, well, I look out for him, my bad.
Alive or not, you can't be sleeping here or whatever.
I was like, oh, okay.
That seems more dangerous because you're just like right by cars that are going really fast.
Yeah, I guess so.
I think he made it dangerous by.
I'd say so.
Yeah.
Did you tell him that?
Diverting traffic and turning his lights on.
I just feel like I went through a phase where I was struggling to stay awake while driving.
I don't struggle with that anymore.
But for a while, especially in college,
and maybe it was just lack of sleep.
But I don't think it was.
I don't think it was like, I don't know.
It was just easier to fall asleep quick back then.
I don't know what it, like,
but I remember one time I dropped Catherine off.
She was visiting me in college in Kansas City.
I dropped, drop to the airport.
And I was going to drive back to Kay State just like two hours away.
And yeah, I had to stop like 45 minutes into it and nap for a solid like hour or more.
Yeah.
Like I just missed my airport.
first class because I was like, I can't.
It is dangerous to drive right now.
I don't know, I don't know, but I don't feel that anymore.
Every once in a while I'm like a little bit tired, but.
Okay.
I don't know.
You go through, yeah, I think you go through the stage.
It sounds like Jake was right out of college when he was struggling.
Yeah, you know what's crazy?
And this is probably what it, the change in for me is, yeah, back in college or even after
college, I feel like I was getting sleepy while driving.
But I don't know if I actually knew about like caffeine, which is got to sound
crazy, but even like 12 years ago, 14 years ago, like, no one was talking about, like,
I don't know, there were energy drinks weren't really present. It wasn't like caffeine is a
stimulant to like keep you awake or anything. Like, yeah. Yeah. It's hard to exactly remember,
but I feel like it just was not a thing to like, oh, it takes some caffeine to wake you up.
What's funny is I knew about caffeine, but my version of that was like gas station cappuccino's,
like, like the mix, you know, whatever. I was like, I don't think those had a lick of caffeine in
Or, you know, whatever.
It was just that powdered plus water mix where it's like, fill two thirds full because it's going to fill up the rest, you know, with foam or whatever.
Yeah, I forgot this is the water episode.
Why can it not stop when I am done pressing the button?
You're done pressing the button.
It just continues to fill for like 10 seconds afterwards.
It freaks you out every time.
You're like, I don't know.
But then if you don't fill up enough, it's like they, two thirds was too little.
Yeah.
And then you're like, well, I'm just wasting ounces.
And I feel like I like to be pretty present for this because, yeah, okay, stop before it's to the top because it's going to fill for a little bit.
So you let it go.
And it continues to kind of be the same color there was.
But didn't that last few seconds?
Gross.
You got to pull the cup out.
Get out of there.
Can we not fix that?
That's got to be the number one complaint of every gas station cappuccino machine is like, hey, like liquid liquid junk comes out the last two seconds.
Can we not get the pond water setting fixed?
Well, that's the soft water.
aspect of it is a different color.
Slimy.
I get fired up when I go to fill up a little
carbonation drink and it just
it's going just fine and all of a sudden it just
spits out the most fizzy thing you ever seen
and flies out of there, dude.
What's happening to that?
Dude, not even soft drink.
I've talked about this pickleball facility.
Yep. Not very good toilet paper
where they charge me, you know, 17 cents an ounce
or whatever it is.
I'm trying to get my power out of there.
it will spurt out of the power rate.
Like, what?
Am I paying for that?
Yeah.
I'm not in charge for this.
I thought that was only like a carbonation thing where it's like,
oh, I got like it's like, it's super fizzy.
This is weird.
I'm getting like a weird, fizzy, gassy version of power rate every now.
Yeah, it's rough.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
Life's not fair.
Last but not least here as a sponsor on the episode,
is the kind people, the wonderful people,
the great people at good ranchers.com.
What kind of headspace would you like,
Time and I to be in for this?
I would just say an American headspace, probably.
Pick yourself somewhere in just the foothills of Wyoming.
Maybe the, oh, maybe just like Arlington Cemetery,
paying your respects.
Maybe, you know, the shores of California
looking nice on Route 60,
Highway 1.
Maybe the top of mountains.
Mount Hood.
Where's that?
Mount Hood?
I thought you knew.
Mountain Hood, I think, is
Compton. Washington.
Okay.
Is that that one?
The big one.
Washington or Oregon or something?
Yeah.
It's like the tallest mountain in America, right?
Picture yourself on top of Mount Hood
or on the bottom of Grand Can
or somewhere in between,
Sarasota, Florida.
Wherever you are,
you are appreciative of America
and the freedoms that we have
here and the wonderful farmers who have done so much work to produce and feed us every single
day.
I have something to admit.
It sounds like you guys both know about Mount Hood.
I don't know what this is at all.
This is an actual mountain?
Or this is like Mount Vernon?
Isn't Mount Hood?
I think Mount Hood they changed to, is that the one they changed the name to Denali?
Maybe.
Do you know about Donnelly?
No. There's no way of knowing.
Kind of like there's no way of knowing where your meat is coming from sometimes.
Yeah, sorry. Yeah, egg on my face. No, you're good. I don't know. Mount.
Listen, I can be wrong.
It might not be Mount trunk.
The electric vehicle? Maybe it's not being Mount Dipstick.
Oh, you're going to feel like a Mount Dipstick if you're still buying your meat from China.
It's so true, dude. It's so true.
And you'll notice the difference.
You'll notice the difference in every way.
We're locking in, which means higher protein,
which means better things in your body,
which means you're not going to get sick.
When everyone else is getting sick,
you're going to be eating good in the neighborhood,
in the mount hood,
and you're going to just, yeah, feel good about it.
So good ranchers.com has meat subscription sent right to your door
with the best delicious meat,
not only is delicious, but also really good for you.
No added antibiotics, no added hormones.
And just, it's just so good.
My kids, we've been having a decent amount of chicken nuggets lately.
And I keep thinking like, they're going to get tired of the seed oil-free chicken nuggets.
They're going to want something else.
So far, so good.
They just, every time, they're like, yeah, we'd love this.
So, um.
Hey, the more you know, Mount Hood is an active.
Ready for this word?
Stratow volcano.
Uh-huh.
In Oregon.
Dang it.
Let's go.
It's the highest peak in Oregon.
Wow.
And I've never even heard of it.
Let that be a lesson.
Yeah.
There you go.
So I always say,
good ranchers.com,
GRKC is a promo code.
Gets you stuff.
Gets you,
gets you meat,
gets you discounts.
Gets that meat delivered
straight to your door
if you use that promo code.
If not,
they might just drop it off
at the sidewalk near your house.
So use GRKC
and they will take that thing
straight to your door,
that American meat delivered.
That's,
yeah.
I have been going,
I mean, I go to Chipoli with my kids sometimes,
and they will tell me if this is wrong.
As I said out loud, I'm like,
it's probably wrong.
But I get them,
I just order them water.
And then they,
they,
one time on accident,
it is all an honest mistake.
Bow is going to fill up his water.
And it's connected to the lemonade.
And so he presses the lemonade thing for a second.
And then he fills up the rest with water.
And he's like,
that's actually delicious.
you know, like add just a splash of lemonade in there.
And so now my kids are like, can we, can we do the lemonade water thing?
I didn't pay for that.
But we're getting like one ounce of lemonade each.
Like a splash of lemonade.
I have zero qualms with it, if I'm being honest.
But I think it's your kids.
It's a splash.
That seems fine.
You're not filling it up with Coke Zero or something.
I think Walmart, sorry, Walmart, Tripoli is doing just fine.
I don't think they're going to be like, hey, what's going on with this?
but yeah it was pretty it's pretty funny and and now bow's getting kind of a heavy hand with the
lemonade let's be honest i'm like hey bro you got you got to you got to add more water in there buddy
i think those chipotle workers they barely care if i said bowl or burrito surely they're not
going to care if you take a little lemonade yeah i think these days dude it maybe this is just
an old person thing to say because probably it was always like this but it feels like these days
no one cares about anything like that no one knows how to work hard in this country anymore
pride in their work no more.
Tell you what?
They don't know the value of good on his work.
Don't you feel like that's true though?
It's like, if I'm like, hey, can I just get like 16 tortillas for free?
They'll be like, yeah, no problem.
You're in bed.
Got you, bro.
Don't tell anybody.
It's not necessarily a bad thing.
No, no.
I mean, I don't know.
Like, that's what, like, I think I said on the podcast a couple months ago or something
where I like filled up my, or no, I went to the drive-thru it,
McDonald's got a drink and then drank it in the parking lot and I was like I'm just going to get a
refill. I had no worries that anybody was going to get mad at me about that like inside.
Like no workers are ever going to say anything because they don't care enough.
They're not going to be like, hey, did you bring, like they're not even going to question it.
They're going to be like, there's a guy coming in here.
Getting his refill.
There is.
To your point, me and someone the other day were trying to talk about like the worst service at fast food places.
Like which one is the worst?
and we all had so many different places to say.
Like that's a bad sign.
We're like, oh, I mean, you name it.
Maynick!
Part of the Beast is the must-see adventure of the year.
It's just you and me, boy.
One of the most extraordinary on-screen brunt you'll ever see.
I'll get you home.
Brad Pitt, Part of the Beast.
September 25th.
Get tickets now.
It's just relative to the, yeah, franchise, right?
It's like Waterburger.
I mean, I've never gone to Waterburger
and taking less than 30 minutes.
What's going on in there?
And I think back to when I used to go to Sonic.
Like, yeah, Sonic somehow was getting so slow.
Taco Bell.
I mean, Taco Bell is terrible.
I mean, that takes forever.
You think about every person you've ever seen working at McDonald's.
You go, I don't know if that's going well.
And then thinking about the Chipotle workers with Emily Scott's AirPod in.
You go, that's not how the CEO probably thought this would go.
Yeah, we went to Chipotle the other day.
And my dad was very kind and like, I'm paying for everybody.
So it was like, my kids, my aunt, you know,
my niece and nephew, my mom, my dad, whatever, going through.
And it was kind of crazy.
Like, it was like all bundled up at the end.
And this guy that's taken our money at the register just did not have an ounce of urgency
in his body.
And there was like, like, when we got there, there was no one else in line.
By the time we left and like paid and everything, there was 15 people because this
guy was taking so long.
I was like kind of helping him do his job.
I was like, if you give us like those big trays, like we can carry some of this out
and it would be easier for you.
And, oh, I did ask, remember, we.
asked for those waters that we're going to put lemonade in.
Can we get some of those water cups please?
And he's like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get you those water cups.
And he just stood there for like, I mean, it was probably only three seconds, but it felt like 20 seconds.
Or he's just like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get you the waters.
And like, it was just so slow.
So, I think that's what is.
It's not even an intelligence or maybe at a hard work thing.
It's like, it's just like urgency.
Yeah.
Like you just don't.
Which, why would he be urgent?
Yeah, he's leaving at the same time no matter what.
You know what I mean?
Like, yeah, it's probably always been this way.
Nothing new.
Could be.
I feel like ever since COVID, man.
Just no one.
I'm just kidding.
COVID's getting blamed for a lot of stuff.
Yeah, COVID.
We went to a parade for real this time.
We went to a parade.
I went to old settlers parade.
Oh, we got for liberty.
Yeah.
And it's one of those things like, Catherine, I think I've talked about it
plenty on this podcast.
She's health conscious.
She cares about the things my kids eat.
don't, doesn't eat. And, uh, she has rules with candy and stuff. And, um, so she made a deal with my
kids, our kids, her kids, um, that for every piece of candy that they got, well, first of all,
she's like, these are the candies that are okay to have. These are the candies that, you know,
we don't want. Yeah, kind of an Adam and Eve thing. Pretty much. You have all the candy,
you put the one on this tree. And Rosie, she, she asked me about a hundred times of the parade.
dad can I have this candy right now?
And like it was crazy how many times I said no
and she kept asking.
But she made a deal.
Every single piece of candy can be exchanged for 10 cents.
Like so you bring this candy home.
We'll count it all out.
And then we'll give you 10 cents per dumb dumb that you get.
Bro, she was not expecting how much candy they were about to like be rained down on them.
I don't know if it was just because we're like near the probably last 80% of
the parade route or what, but it felt like everyone that walked by was just like,
we got to get rid of, we were too, you know, minimal with our candy at the beginning.
Let's just throw it out.
I don't want to go home with this.
I mean, there were times where they got thrown 30 dumb, dums at once, dude.
It was like, there's, there's four of them.
We don't need all these suckers.
It was amazing.
So I think each of them, I think had he got the most.
She had like 200 pieces of candy, though.
It was like, it was like more than Halloween.
It was wild.
So how much did she decide to keep versus trade in?
Yeah, I think so Catherine,
alongside of exchanging for money,
she could,
had you could exchange for other candy,
you know,
or like the good candy,
quote unquote,
or lucky ducks,
which are these like little,
I don't even know what,
cheap little duck things.
Little like birds.
Yeah,
like lucky birds,
like just like small little foul.
And so I think she,
and had he got like $12,
dollars plus this many lucky ducks plus kept 50 pieces of candy i was like that's good parade that's still a lot
of candy yeah that you kept so anyway it was wild how much candy they got and just loaded up and i was like
they didn't even lobby for it like i was like guys you could have done a lot better if you just like
put out your hand every once in a while i mean i'm asking you though like when's the next parade then
seriously i don't know if i can afford another one so um anyway there's a great time of the parade though
I think parades are about as American as it gets.
Yeah, do you have like a local marching band leading the charge?
Oh, I mean 30 marching bands.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So many.
Some of them were so mediocre, dude.
It was wild.
Some of those middle school ones were just so sad sounding.
It's like, have some pep in that step a little bit.
They still have like the like banners.
There's always a couple of people in front like holding a banner.
Oh, it's wild.
the high school specifically,
they're like a mile long as far as all the things they have now.
It's like,
because they have like the drill team,
you know,
whatever,
dance team,
but then they also have the cheerleaders.
They also have the band.
And then now each band,
I believe,
has their own massive,
like,
trailer on the back of a,
like,
pickup truck that they used to just like,
like bring everything with them.
And so they have that in the parade now.
It's wild.
Like,
it's like all sorts of stuff.
Do these high schools have names for their,
marching band?
I know what you're talking about.
I don't know if most of them
I feel like I've definitely seen it.
Like, yeah, the marching tigers or something like that.
Yeah.
For what if you're saying, Stratford,
instead of just being the Stratford Indians marching band,
they gave themselves a name.
It was the flaming arrow marching band.
Oh, just like a completely straight up.
Yeah, yeah.
I've heard that.
Flaming arrow.
It's not going to help the allegations.
Don't call yourself that.
Yeah, they have a guy up front, like running, yeah, in a full war whoop, you know, costume, everything.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, I don't, I'm sure they do, but I didn't notice them specifically.
But I love it.
I'm all about a parade.
I think it's fun.
It's great people watching.
And yeah, in the parade.
Covered in feathers.
You love them.
I was like, covered.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Anyway.
All right.
Let's do a review of the week.
You guys go on?
Yeah, of course.
That's what I've been waiting for.
Dang.
The podcast app doesn't have anything new.
No or no?
Not on my screen, but I do see one from three weeks ago from Veggie Tale.
Five stars.
The title of the review is the emoji of a person with a party hat blowing one of those things.
blowing one of those things.
One of those things you blow with party hats together.
And the review in all caps says,
congratulations Jake and Rachel.
I don't know what that's about
or what they're referring to.
Could they be more specific, maybe?
Maybe they didn't really, like,
you found a solution to the water issue in your pool.
Congratulations, Jake and Rachel.
You now know how to fix it.
You now know this.
Probably when they thought I had, like, got rid of the dog urine.
They're like, oh, you cleaned the pads.
Congratulations.
And they haven't listened to a recent episode of there.
Yeah.
It's still there.
It's still there.
It really is.
I'm working on some stuff, having time and sleep in there,
see if you can kind of like soak up some of the smell.
I haven't smelled it.
But maybe I can be like a sponge if.
Yeah.
Yeah, I can just take it home with me.
Yeah, I've been trying some stuff.
Gossi's been helping.
You're in town for PPA?
PPA.
Yeah.
Just,
just filming.
And it's a bunch of content.
It's gonna be great.
A bunch of con.
So much con.
Contemplating.
Um,
that's nice.
I don't,
yeah,
leave us a review guys
because that's the only one
we're seeing that we can read.
I'm not.
Wait.
Have we,
have we let,
whoa.
Let me see.
I don't know if this,
Oh yeah, we did.
We read that one.
Whitewater Lifeguard.
Shout out.
Shout out to everyone
that's giving us reviews.
Shout to the lifeguards.
Shout to the lifeguards.
Shout to the lifeguards out here.
Fun things, though,
like as I'm looking at my text messages
as we've recorded,
we're getting texts from Ghosties.
I'm getting texts from multiple ghostsies.
It's just cool to go from fans to friends and everything.
So, yeah, shout to the Ghosties, as always.
Thank you guys for being awesome.
Who are you texting these days?
I mean, they just texted me.
Mack Mascaro and Tammy Mason have just texted me since we've been recording this.
So shout out.
Shout out.
Shout out.
Anyway, go Chiefs.
Shout out.
What about?
Bob?
Bob is that what side?
Yeah, I need to work on that.
That was funny, dude.
That was really funny.
Yeah, I think you could just practice this for like 10 minutes and have it like a great baseball sound.
Oh, we'll talk about it.
I'm a write down.
We'll talk about it on Wednesday's episode.
Something similar to that.
I feel like you get down in 10 minutes.
All right.
Hey, we love you guys.
Have a great week.
This parade's leaving the station.
