Check, check. Check, check.
What do you think about that?
Do you guys always warm up this way?
I'm just normally not in the room.
Mm-hmm.
Yep.
This week was Moana.
We whistle a different movie song.
Yep.
We know the way is this week's.
Next week, I think we're going to do either Pirates of Pinsants or Music Man.
You had Diet Coke guys these days?
Not necessarily.
They're left over from the getaway.
so got him in the house.
So going for it.
Yeah, one guy left early,
so we have a few left over sodas.
Did you know that Diet Coke has more caffeine
than Coke zero?
I did not.
Magic man Luke taught me that.
It's part of his trick.
Mm-hmm.
He's like, watch this.
You're awake.
Drink this and you'll be more awake.
Okay.
Great.
So.
What was the best trick he did on the getaway?
Well, if I told you,
wouldn't be a trick anymore.
We told you we'd have to kill you.
Um.
what was the best illusion he did
I mean the lime one
yeah yeah is nuts
you don't have to tell me how it works but like
what was your
well I have no idea how it works honestly
oh okay so you don't have to kill me
I don't want to know is that is that fair
I don't want to know
please don't kill me please
please don't kill me the lime one was nuts though
he basically I don't want to give it away too much
because I want you guys to use Luke robinson live.com
but I mean
from what I remember
he had
he had a lime
and then he took
somebody's $20 bill
he wrote on it
and then cut open
the lime and inside the lime
was the $20 bill
with juice and stuff
I don't care if you know what's coming
that's amazing
yeah I don't
I think I'm with you
I don't want to know how
but also I'm like
what?
Yeah
because whoever it was signed it
is it
that's right
I forget who.
Was Alexandra?
Maybe?
No.
I don't know.
But she signed it.
And it was in the line.
How do you even get something in a line signed or not?
I was like, that's not even her name.
Sorry, Elizabeth.
Good job, Luke.
Anyway.
So good, Luke.
So good.
Thanks for Diet Coke recommendation, Luke.
And also that cool trick.
I would love some lime in my Diet Coke right now.
So bring it on over here, Luke.
Come on.
Anyway, quick story.
I got to see Timmon this past week.
Yes.
Yep.
Timmy was in town.
He's in this very room.
It's fun.
Helping to get set up and yada yada.
Anyway, one funny story is we all went out to dinner one night.
This is Scott Isaac, Kyle, Ashley, Rachel, you know, whole crew.
Timon's there.
And, um, Timon, do you know what story I'm going with?
I want to talk about how you were treated by the waitress that night.
Oh, yeah.
I wrote this down.
Okay.
Yeah.
Would you like me to, is that, okay.
Take it away, time.
I would say the waitress that we had there was like,
kind of just all you could ask for in a waitress.
She was very like, like, I don't know, very on top of things.
She was just very nice.
I don't know.
She seemed smiling.
She was going along with the jokes.
They took away the chicken parmesan.
She said come back in October.
Yeah.
She would riff with us.
Like, she was very nice, but I had some pretty major beef with her that I never brought up to her.
But I didn't, I heard her interact with everyone else.
And I was the only one that she called buddy.
And she called me buddy three different times.
And I only had three interactions with her.
Every single time, I was like, I guess I look that much just like by far the kid of the group.
Like, give me content.
Like, how to go?
She would, ways that she did not have to throw in buddy.
It was like, and that'll be everything.
Okay, cool.
Sounds good, buddy.
And then move on the next person.
Yeah, dude, that's that.
And the first time I was like, okay, sure, I didn't like it the first time, but then it got worse.
And I think maybe the middle time was Bud, which I don't like that either.
I don't know which is worse, but.
Bud's worse.
Okay.
Yeah, I just, but then I, once I know, knew that it was like a trend that she did it twice.
I was listening to everyone else, like interactions.
Nobody, no bud for them.
Was it nobody, no bud, but other terms?
Or was it just?
Right, I don't even think so.
It wasn't like Hun for them or, no.
Sweetie or.
Nope.
Pal.
It's just so funny to treat.
Well, no, she called everyone pal.
Yeah, even the girls.
She called them pal.
Did she say, like, do you need a,
are you going to order from the big kids menu?
Or do you want a small one?
buddy.
Buddy just sounds so demeaning.
Yeah, you're right.
And this, yeah, so this is the steak, buddy.
And this is, and you can get ketchup with that, buddy.
Yes, so steak comes from cows.
Yeah, and steak is the cows.
And then do you have who is, who at this table's paying for you, buddy?
Mm-hmm.
It was kind of like that.
Do you know how you're going to be paying?
You're going to need 120 and two ones.
And that's before tip, buddy.
Do you have that type of money, buddy?
Uh-huh.
that's how it felt.
Really?
Did everyone else recognize it quickly too?
I don't think anyone noticed.
I think she was fairly...
You had to tell us.
Yeah.
There was like...
I kind of wish that everyone else would have heard it
so I could have been a little more...
I don't know.
Almost feels like I'm just making it up.
But I know...
I think Isaac could have probably
attested.
He was the closest to me.
But yeah, just...
All right.
Paint me a picture of this waitress.
Like, was she a little older than you?
Maybe, but a little bit.
younger than the rest of the crew,
potentially?
I could see that being the case.
Okay.
Would you say so, Jake?
I don't...
She's probably...
I don't know where I'm at
in her 30s.
I don't really remember what she looked like.
You know what I mean?
You know what he means?
What other jobs has she had, do you think?
Or is it just waitress the whole time?
She started out...
She started out like the person at the car wash who tells you, like,
to come...
Come on, buddy.
Points you to the lane.
Did you bring your tricycle, buddy?
Yeah.
We can watch that too,
Oh, you're licensed, a licensed driver, buddy.
Very good.
I was a bartender for like one year, but didn't.
She decided she didn't like it.
She couldn't take it.
Couldn't take it.
It wasn't even that it wasn't a preference.
Well, she lasted a year, but after that year, she couldn't take it.
Okay.
Too many gross buddies.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah, and she's been, she had waitress there for probably a while.
Service industry the whole time.
Okay.
Yeah, I bet.
We tried to, like, coax it out of her.
Once time it told us as we were leaving.
We kept talking to her,
seen if we'd get a buddy out of her.
And then eventually Isaac just called her buddy.
Just like forcing it in there.
All right.
See you,
buddy.
She didn't say buddy again,
but she didn't pat timing on the head a few times.
Yeah,
she like rubbed me with her knuckles, yeah.
Uh, uh,
oh,
ooh,
I think this tight beat means that it's going down
with some random thoughts in white meat too.
Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat.
So come along.
Let's have some fun and go ahead.
Get on your feet because it's a ghost from his podcast.
Yeah, so how was Phoenix?
How was your time in Phoenix?
I know it's a big, big week for you guys, right?
Yeah, I do.
Depends who you ask.
I was exhausted.
Yeah.
I, like, I mean, I don't know.
I feel like there were some good moments of doing a lot of stuff, but then some just downtime.
I don't know.
It was fun, though.
I liked it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I did apologize to time in, like,
different times. It's like, sorry, this is not. It just like the timing different stuff, just like,
we didn't end up shooting that much while time and was there. And then as soon as time and left,
you know, it felt like I shot three feature films, you know, by myself. And it was just,
it was unfortunate timing. Yeah. Nobody's fault or anything, but we were just busy. But
time was very helpful getting the studio set up, Friday podcast. We recorded two episodes,
you know, like still helpful. Yeah. Oh, you were there for the recording? I was there for
The first recording.
Nice.
Yeah, it was awesome.
It was actually pretty funny.
I gave it a nine out of ten.
We actually did, I think we did pretty good.
Let's go.
Yeah, it was great.
You actually, you love this type of humor.
I feel like when like a confident person, a capable person does something extremely
embarrassing.
Yep.
You have free reign to just like make fun of it.
You know, it's fine.
You don't have to feel bad.
And there is a moment that was caught on camera, like a live, you know,
pickleball match.
Kyle's team is playing Rachel's team.
This is like a few months ago.
Kyle's team wins.
They celebrate a social media girl on Kyle's team
had given him meta glasses.
Like, hey, when we win,
it'd be fun for you to capture it.
Yeah.
A team huddle breaks out
where they're all like huddling and jumping around
because they won.
Kyle doesn't make it in the circle.
Oh.
And so he takes off his meta glasses
and just films like this.
Just arms and.
extended. So there's a video of them jumping on celebrating and he's just like kind of jumping outside
of the circle with meta, just holding his sunglasses out like a psycho. So we did like a film
breakdown of that and just like all of his thoughts. And that was actually pretty funny. Okay.
That's really good. So it was a film of him filming somebody else. Because you couldn't see his arms
on the meta video, right? No, we never had the meta glasses footage. I don't know what that looked like.
Probably looked terrible. This is yes, someone that looked at broadcast camera got all.
of this. It saw Kyle celebrating. Yeah, we had a good time. Yeah, do you get some good
laughs in there? Yeah. Yeah, we did. Oh, yeah. It was funny. He was like, dude, I hadn't been
this embarrassed since I got pantsed on the seventh grade bus ramp. And then I go ramp.

We're all thinking that. Yeah. What was the size of the bus, buddy?
Yeah, dude, he shoved me off my week.
wheelchair and then pants to me, dude.
Exactly. So, I mean, it just
snowballed and, yeah. Anyway, I think it'll be good.
I don't know what it's, probably got to come up sometime
this week whenever you're listening to this.
Friday group chat, look it up. If you like pickleball stuff.
Let's go, dude.
But, yeah,
it was just a lot this week. I don't know,
I'm contemplating seeing a doctor
because I just have like felt like weird
and off. Like, I'm,
I'm exhausted all the time.
I'm like gaining,
weight. My stomach feels weird. I've had some crazy stomach stuff this week. But I'm hesitant to
go see any doctor because I know they're just going to be like, oh, you're tired? Yeah, you had a kid
four weeks ago. And I, and I feel like that's what's going to happen. And I'm like,
I feel like this is like more than that. Like, yeah, if I die, you guys are going to say he said he was
sleepy. So you're like, I'm tired. I need to figure that out. I haven't, I haven't played
pickleball as much. And like, for whatever reason, I'm like gaining weight because I haven't worked out as
often. I don't know what's going on. Yeah. But there's something like you're just like more lethargic.
Yeah, I don't know what's going on. I mean like six p.m. rolls around. It's like I have to,
it feels like I have to go to sleep right now. Like I've never drank energy drinks at like 6, 7 p.m.
before like last week, Sunday night I fell asleep on the couch at 7.30. And I was just like,
something's going on. And like Teddy's not even the whole. My schedule hasn't changed that much.
I don't know what's happened to me. But, uh,
Um, that's one of those times where you want to send like the gif of like Leonardo DiCaprio going,
one of us, one of us.
Because I feel that way every day of my life.
Not truly.
No, not truly.
Um, but there's some days where it's like, why am I so tired?
I got, I got plenty of sleep last night.
I don't know why I'm tired.
I haven't done that much, you know, like, and there's other days where it's like, no,
I feel fine.
So.
Yeah.
That's just part of it.
Maybe, or maybe not.
Maybe there's something.
I mean, yeah, maybe it's valid to like go check out.
I mean, and maybe it's just like, oh, yeah, I've been eating weird things that are making me feel a certain way.
I don't know.
Sure, it's all part of it.
I try to figure it out, but either way, I'll be fine.
Now it's really time to power through.
The PPA week is over, which is madness.
Teddy's coming home soon, we think.
So, yeah, got a lot to do.
We need some blackout curtains.
We need a little dresser with a little changing table on top of it, some last minute things.
we need to blackout curtains.
Yeah.
I feel like it's like one of those things.
You need all those things,
but you also,
you'll be fine without them.
If you don't get it.
The closet's fine.
You can change them on the ground
if you got to,
you know?
Classic, dude.
Yeah.
It's amazing.
I can share more about last week.
Oh, what were you going to say?
I was going to say,
do you feel like Teddy can sleep through anything?
Like, is he,
I feel like newborns,
at least in my experience.
And once again,
I haven't had a NICU newborn,
my NICU.
But like, can he sleep easily?
Like, is it like somebody comes in there,
wheels a cart in there with like clanging things together?
Like, okay.
Are you still asleep?
There's that one nurse.
She popped her head in every now and then.
And I mean, it's like she's trying to wake him up.
Hey, I was wondering if you guys were in here today?
In what universe with that?
Is that the appropriate volume to talk?
It just comes in barking.
He sleeps through that, though.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
And as, thinking back to, like, his first week alive, to know his fourth week alive, he is more awake in general, which they say is a sign that, like, yeah, he's more like a regular baby now.
Like, he's more ready to come home.
Because he's not just, like, asleep all the time.
Like, he's waking up and he's hungry.
And he's, like, crying every now.
And, like, he didn't really, like, cry at all for, like, three, four weeks.
Oh, interesting.
Okay.
But, yeah, I mean, I'm sure he's still a good sleeper.
But, um, nothing like when he was two days old.
he had it. He was good then. He had it good. Yeah, he was a really good sleeper then. Oh, man.
That's great. Yeah, last week was crazy. I'll talk more about it later, but what did you have going on last week?
Not anything that crazy. Well, we talked last, when Monday, whatever, one of the, I think it was Wednesday's episode about the Chiefs game coming up, Monday night football, how we're like delaying, watching it, all these different things.
Yeah, it's crazy. They played twice since we've recorded. They haven't lost either on them either. They're just winning all
the time, which is fun. They're going to beat the dolphins. So they're three and oh, as we're,
you know, as people are listening to this, right? And surely, what, if they're, if they're not
three and oh, what should we do? Then Mahomes ACL tour again and just pack it up. Even if Mahomes
ACL tears, I think we're three and oh. I think the dolphins are that bad. Yeah, we're 11.5.
favorite favorites. Anyway, but like I said, was watching it at my house with some friends. We're going to
watch it at eight o'clock. So we're going to be on delay a little bit.
and then at like 6.30, I get a notification that somebody has reserved my Airbnb for that night.
And I had been over there earlier that day recording the episode.
And it was, and I had told my cleaner, hey, I'm going to be recording.
Is that what it was?
For whatever reason, I thought, like, I'll just have her wait to clean until the next day.
Maybe I just, because I was like, no one's booked it yet.
And so technically it wasn't a clean house.
But Tyme and I were over there, and it looked fine.
Like, it looked like the people that left, they like full,
it was like one of those times where it's like they almost cleaned it for us to the extent.
Japanese maybe.
Maybe so.
Oh, regato.
And so I see this notification that's like 630.
And I'm like, oh no.
Like they're coming tonight.
And it's like, you know, I'm going to make $1,100 on this stay.
So I'm like, I don't want to just cancel on them.
But also it's not.
ready. And so long story short, I like tried to get my cleaner over there. She wasn't able to go.
And so I went over and just like power clean that thing. Limpiard yourself. But they did not,
I didn't, my cleaner will take the sheets and go like clean and launder the sheets off site and bring
them back. So there wasn't enough clean sheets to change everything out. So I get there. I'm clean
everything else out. And then I have to run to target, get all these sheets, get all these new towels
that I'm buying and like bring those out.
I spent $1,100 getting stuff from Target.
Yeah, exactly.
I did.
I was like, dang, $184, but that's okay.
It's $1,100.
It works out.
So I, like, struggling.
Going back, I'm, like, sweating.
Like, change, I've never changed a bed so fast in my entire life.
But then I get home to my house at, like, 8, 15 or so.
My buddies are there.
And we go downstairs.
Peter's there.
And if you don't know, Peter, by now, we have some stories about Peter on the podcast.
He's just a goofball of a guy sometimes.
Like, every once while he just,
He does things that make you laugh.
Like he was the one,
the classic example that we use is he's the one that filled up,
like a water bottle with gasoline one time
because he ran out and he walked to the gas station and filled it up.
Lactose intolerant, but it'll slam ice cream and pizza like you wouldn't believe.
Yeah.
Just amazing, like truly one of like the best,
one of my favorite people.
But everyone's while,
he's just like,
he does things.
I'm like,
Peter,
what are you doing?
And so we go downstairs.
I know it is recorded on YouTube TV.
YouTube TV gives you the option to join live or resume from last watch.
Okay.
Timon did it for us, right?
Okay.
I'm a bit of an expert by now.
Yeah.
And so.
Time was our guy.
And so I was like resume from last watch, I think, but I click on resume from last watch.
I share a YouTube TV account with my parents.
And so I think my dad was already watching some of it.
And so I'm like looking away.
I could see, I could see the timeline of where it was.
And I just told Peter, I was like, don't look.
Don't look.
And I pause it.
And I'm like, I'm doing the thing where I'm like, I'm able to see the timeline.
I'm squinting enough to be able to see the timeline to go back.
Kind of making your vision blurry.
Yeah, yeah, I am.
Like right now I can see the icons on my, you know, down here,
but I'm not seeing anything else.
So I'm not like scrolling.
And I'm like, don't look, don't look.
And Peter's goes, I looked.
And I'm like, Peter.
I looked right at it.
I actually specifically looked at the bottom of the TV where the score is at.
I go, I go, don't look, don't look.
And he goes, okay, I looked.
I'm like, what are you doing?
And so we just talked about how last week we didn't even like,
watching it in the same room as somebody, you know, who...
And Peter's like, he's convinced that he wasn't...
That we weren't live whenever he saw the score.
So, anyway, once it hit 7 to 7, he's like,
that's the score I know, guys.
That's the score I know.
But anyway, it was a blast watching with them and getting into it
and watched last week's game at Gunner's House, which is really fun.
And so we're just trying to commit to watch more games together this year,
which is fun.
So, anyway, but that was just fun.
I looked.
How did you...
Did you get to your house without knowing the score?
I'm trying to think what happened.
Oh, we ended up having to wait on Scott.
Kyle's matches got over super quickly.
And then so we were just waiting on Scott to like land, get his bag,
and then Uber to our house.
And we never caught up.
So we just got to power through commercials.
Yeah.
And it was great.
It was fun.
I mean, I feel like we were supposed to like,
the Broncos made to the AFC championship last year.
we were terrible last year
and then we beat them
31 to negative 7.
I mean,
but you never got any,
no one ever got tipped off or anything.
Yeah,
no,
we all went dark.
We all had our phones turned off.
I was like,
all right,
Scott,
this is the last message I'm sending you.
If you need anything,
you text time and I'm going dark,
all right?
That's what,
that's what Gunner was like,
guys,
I'm going to put my phone on
Do Not Disturb at 7 p.m.
And so all this stuff started happening like,
6.45, 6.
6.35,
and so I'm like,
I can't even,
text them.
But I have to be on my phone a little bit to coordinate with this guy who's coming to know
when he's coming.
To coordinate with my cleaner and call her.
But then I'm seeing like text pop up every once in a while.
Caleb Sullivan texted me.
And I'm like, Caleb Sullivan wouldn't just text out of nowhere.
I know he's texting about the Chiefs game right now.
You know, it's just like, ah.
And then I see my family group chat.
I'm like either that's good or bad, multiple things.
You know, I'm just like anyway.
So it turned out it was all good.
Yeah.
We didn't have it spoiled.
time and turned it on for us and just had a nice night together.
It was great.
I had a very good time watching the game.
Like I don't.
Yeah.
I still like didn't care that much, but like I did though at the same time.
It was like, yeah, I don't know.
I was into it.
I started to teach my kids, Haddie and Boe specifically how to play football a little bit.
Like we've been playing in the backyard.
I'm all-time quarterback and they're just one-on-one back and forth.
And just teaching them like, you can't go behind or pass this ball until I say hike, you know,
and you can't do this.
and I can throw it backwards to you,
and then you can throw it forwards,
but you can only throw it forwards once,
you know, all these different things.
And so now, like, watching football with them
is kind of fun because they're like, okay, yeah,
it's third down.
We got to stop them here.
You know, all these different things,
like kind of sweet.
So it's like they're now excited when they see a touchdown
versus before they didn't care.
They just were excited about commercials coming on, you know.
So that's awesome.
Yeah, it's pretty sweet.
Well, it's that time timing.
Sure is.
It's that time, Jake.
Wait, what time is it for you guys?
I'm in Phoenix.
221.
Drum roll, please.
Not even 2.20.
Oh, coffee time, boy.
I don't care.
I don't care if it's 225 in Kansas City,
if it's 1225 in Gilbert, Arizona,
or if it's 625 in Honolulu, H.I.
No matter what time it is,
It's good.
Main Street Roasters.
It's a good time.
Coffee time.
Coffee time.
So this part of the podcast is brought to you by
Main Street Roasters.
Big beans,
big hearts.
That's who they are.
The good people,
the Miller family of Main Street Roasters.
If you and your life like big beans
or like to support big hearts,
this is your chance to do it.
Big beans, big hearts.
Grind it out.
Big beans, big hearts, can't lose.
Big beans, big hearts.
Big beans, big hearts, bow bobs.
Boobody.
Big beans, big hearts.
A lot of farts.
Big beans, big hearts, big money.
Big beans, big heart, big...
Booties.
Big beans, big heart, big...
Baller brand.
I had a latte this week that was, I'll say, like, very...
like fall
fall flavored latte
and it really
I don't really love
like fall flavored stuff
I don't gravitate
towards pumpkin or
nutmeg or whatever
but it was
it got me excited
for some fall flavors
maybe I need to be leaning
into them a little more
maybe that's you
maybe you need some
it's just fall flavors
but yes
yeah Rachel Roebacher
made some lattes for us
and yeah I was like
whoa that's super fall
and me and Scott
were just like playing it up
whoa is it
is it Thanksgiving already
Whoa, I've only have my turkey.
Oh my gosh.
I've got to get a Halloween costume soon.
Wow, are you guys tasted this?
You checking this out?
Let me just go to Mastroaster.com and see what kind of fall flavors they got right now.
May I?
Yeah.
Main Street Roasters.
Drum roll.
Yes, he may.
I'm having a hard time.
Oh, here we go.
Keyboard typo prank again.
Drum roll.
Oh, I'm really good.
getting going on.
I don't know, man.
I'm having a hard time here.
Cookies, yeah.
I didn't know how long I was going to have to drum roll for.
I don't know, man.
I don't know how much longer I can do this.
Grandma's apple crisp.
Oh.
That's going to be good.
Sure.
That sounds nice.
All right.
Let me find some more flavors.
Buy coffee.
Fall flavors.
Here we go.
Vermont maple nut.
Why not?
That's going to taste good.
Carmel crunch.
How about it?
Southern pecan pie, big beans, big ballin,
apple cinnamon, struddle, oh sure, why not?
Pumpkin spice, you betcha.
Perfectly pumpkin, yeah, it is.
Grandma's apple crisp, roast of the month.
Let's go.
GRKC, 10% off, matrirocious.com.
Best fall copy ever had.
Oh, Carmel Crutch.
That's what I called you in high school.
I watched the second Chiefs game from,
I mean, legitimately probably like five.
different locations. It was like, we were still at the pickleball venue when the game started.
We're like, ah, there's no sense to try to avoid this. So like Rachel's playing for like
championship match and we're just kind of like pausing in between points. Then game gets over.
So we're watching the car. Then go to Cracker Barrel real quick. Knock out a, you know,
about a quarter at Cracker Barrel. Oh, it's 8.30. It's Teddy's Care Time. Knock out a little bit
in the hospital. And then I think finished it up like in the car on the way home.
Love it.
And what a game.
What a game.
And it took me a year to watch it, so it was amazing.
Yeah, out of all, out of the two games, that would have been,
the first one would have been the one that would have been nice to go five different locations.
Like, I think we're good on this one.
That one was like, oh my gosh, what's happening here?
Yeah.
So good.
Yeah.
The Colts always play them tough, but.
I saw that you got kicked out of the guillotine league.
Yeah, we don't need to talk about.
Lead up.
Yeah.
Big old egg.
Here's what you, here's what you got to do.
time. Yeah. Don't put off
tomorrow what you can do today.
All right. Okay. That's a little bit of
advice I have for anybody out there, but really
just fancy football people.
Okay. Or cleaning the Airbnb.
Yeah. Great, great point,
Jacob. Great point.
The cleaners are your Kyler Murray.
Oh my gosh. Yeah. So I was like,
Tyler Murray, he might play. He was going to
like try to trade for some other
quarterback that was definitely going to be in.
And I was like, well, maybe, but what if
Kyler Murray plays. So let's just see
closer to game time, what happens.
And then about, you know, the benediction, if
you will, the, what do they call it? Like the
invitation at church, I was like,
well, it's like 1210 right now. So I think I probably
missed my chance to see if Kyler Murray's playing.
That was the last, I thought about on like Tuesday afternoon
and I thought about it on Sunday right after the game started.
I was like, well, might be in trouble. And then checked
and sure enough was. So,
it's okay. I feel a little bit sad about it, but not, not worth, not worth, uh, you know,
crying over, crying over spilled milk, you know, just go sop that milk out. But yeah,
kind of a bummer. It's all good though. Football's so fun. I'd friggin love the NFL. I just love
it. Did you happen to see, it's a great prank on part of my take. They were trying to show, um,
actually you know what it is already yeah yeah
you're talking about the
yeah yeah when i get a kick out of it or no
yeah that's a genuine question because i don't know football very well
maybe uh it was basically like there's a bit of a rivalry between
it'd be like if on this podcast time when you love the broncos i love the chiefs
bradles the raiders you know and there's just like all this whoa whoa whoa whoa
why do you get to love the chiefs hey my bad i love the savannah bananas
thank you and so these two guys
just kind of go at it, you know, for time of time.
Yeah.
And one guy, like, acted like he found a video on Instagram about, you know, like,
timing your favorite quarterback.
Yeah.
Like, he missed all these wide open receivers in week one.
Like, it's kind of crazy.
If you go back and look, like, there were wide open receivers every time he drive back and
he never hit them, uh, with the pass.
This quarterback supposed to be so good.
Yeah, like, hey, I just saw this video.
Do you guys want to see it?
And then kind of just skip to the end to spoil it.
One, it would be like, like, yeah.
like I was the one who made that video.
I used like a weird voice to like narrate it.
So you wouldn't know it was me.
And then on top of it,
the reason your receivers looked so open is because I used AI to edit out one guy
from the defense entirely.
Like I just removed the guy guarding the open receiver.
And it's like a four minute long video and this guy just like never caught on.
He's just like making excuses for his quarterback why he didn't hit the open receiver.
And they're all just dying laughing.
He's like, okay, I don't know what's going on.
you know.
That's pretty good.
I know.
I was like,
I don't know
AI was good enough
to just like
remove a moving player
in real time.
That's crazy.
But yeah,
but yeah,
but yeah,
but yeah,
that is a great joke,
a great prank.
Just be like,
dude,
you think your quarterback's good,
look at how bad he is at this.
Like that guy,
you guys would have easily
won the game
if you were just throwing
to that guy.
I was going to see this guy.
And I'm sure he's like,
I mean,
he isn't this bad.
Right.
Right.
Yeah,
like,
this is confusing,
actually.
I have to still defend him.
Yeah.
Yeah, how do you go through the mental gymnastics?
Like, we do that with Mahomes sometimes.
Like, anytime Mahomes misses a pass, it's like,
I bet the receiver didn't run the route, right?
You know, it's like, yeah.
So, yeah, I did write down,
chiefs are awesome.
I'm excited.
So I'd be back.
Yeah, we're back.
I also wrote down,
I'm convinced that my phone keyboard is out for me.
Have I talked about this on the podcast yet?
I don't know.
I'm getting real sick of my phone keyboard too, though.
Are you really, dude?
I'll tell you what, though.
Don't get me the iPhone duo.
Dude, if you do, I will,
I will take it, but I don't want it.
I don't.
If you do, it might have a slightly better keyboard, so I honestly would be a, but I'd be interested
to see how the keyboard goes on it.
I give a quick little test, but then I don't want it.
Like it feels it.
I want to keep it.
I want to lease the phone.
Listen, I'm trying to lock in.
I'm trying to get better on my weight.
Unless my fingers are the things that are all of my weight has gone to, it's like, what is different?
Like, I am missing words so.
often right now in my texts.
And like, I'm not even getting close, dude.
And it's like, did they just change every letter by like making it a little bit thinner or
bigger or something?
But it's like unbelievable how often I'm just messing this up.
And so I don't know.
It feels like, and then there's sometimes where it's like, I am one letter off to a very
common word.
And you're not trying to correct that for me.
Yeah.
I don't know.
it, honestly, it felt so bad that it was like,
did Tim and Jake, like, prank me and, like, do something?
Like, we widen your keyboards about it.
Or they saw some setting of, like, only, you know,
adjust it if you have that name in your contact or something,
like only audio correct it then.
I don't know, dude, but it's like, it's borderline driving me crazy.
Because once you get used to the convenience and now it's not there anymore,
it's killer, dude.
This sounds like when, like, professional athletes are so tuned into their sport,
they can tell very minuscule, like,
That's what I'm saying.
I've been with pro pickball players and they go, this net is too low.
You go, no, it's not.
It's fine.
And then it's like a quarter of an inch too low or stuff like that.
Steph Curry knew when the rim was too low.
Yep.
It shoot around.
You know,
sums up with that keyboard.
That's what I'm saying.
I'm a professional keyboard.
Yeah, because this guy types.
I've typed every day.
Every day of my life.
I use that phone and type on it.
Something's going on with it.
So the main thing that annoys me, I've probably talked about on the podcast at some point before.
But I even tried Google.
this issue and like it doesn't seem to like understand what I want and it seems like it makes me
feel like I'm the only person who has it. It's gaslighting me. So it seems like there is some type of like
feature where like if you have some sort of typo in the middle of sentence and maybe it doesn't
get corrected or it can't find the word you were trying to go for, then autocorrect is now just
turned off for the remainder of your paragraph. What is that setting? It'll just like give up.
It's just like, we're done. It drives me nuts. It's like a glitch. It's got to be a
glitch or something. Oh, and they haven't fixed it for a year and a half.
It's crazy. It's just like, never mind, we're not going to do it anymore.
And it feels like that all the time on my freaking phone.
It's just like, we're done. Yeah. It's like, what is happening?
Anyway, you're going to be a voice to text guy?
I've thought about being a swiper. I'll be honest. Yeah. I remember actually, I think
when you were taking the boys to the airport after Gulf Shores, I think I maybe noticed you
like answer text. I was like, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was,
I was like, I would be swiping that text.
I think this is a one-hander while driving.
As I was driving, yeah.
Yeah, I always swipe those.
Do you really?
Well, I, like, if I'm, yeah, I don't know.
I think I'm just, I'm a swipe or sometimes voice-to-text depending on my mood.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm hardly ever, if I have one hand only, I'm hardly ever just doing taps.
Okay.
Yeah, maybe I should go swipe.
But sometimes, I mean, swiping is, it's not fully reliable.
I mean, sometimes it's like, I know I hit every letter and it's just not trying.
It's like I went too fast for it, but I know I nailed it.
Yeah.
The main issue with the swipe is that it really prioritizes you hitting the first letter.
If you kind of miss just that first letter, I feel like it throws the whole thing off.
It's over.
Yeah.
Huh.
Get the first letter and then just kind of scramble it up.
It'll figure it out.
Give me a quick sentence to write down in a swipe.
Let me see how well I do.
No look swipe.
The brown fox jumped over the log.
Okay.
The brown fox jumped over the log.
The growing fix humored of the kid.
Kind of same message.
So I kind of want to try on now.
Maybe I'm just bad at type.
Maybe I've lost it.
I've lost it in my old age.
I'm going to try again a little bit slower.
The brown fox.
Oh, wait.
Reverb.
It just says.
The brown box jumped over the log.
I felt good about that one.
Okay.
What'd you get?
Oh, I didn't do it.
I thought I was waiting for you to try it again.
I could do it.
Hold on.
Mine says the brown fox.
Can I look?
Humored over loud.
Can I get the tea?
Like I can look.
No.
No?
Absolutely not.
Okay.
Go by feel, baby.
Big Hank.
Come on, boy.
Come over here.
Over the log.
I got the brown god jewels over lot.
Okay.
I hear you.
Henry ain't got no shirt on.
I hit send in our group chat.
The brown fox, the brown god
jewels over a lot.
Try it one more.
Not great.
Okay.
Part one more.
Give me a new sentence.
No, we got to go that one.
That's our control.
Not being able to look for the T.
Then again, I guess I did get it.
So, okay.
The brown fox jumps over the log.
The brown fox jumps over your lot.
Oh.
And yours, you are.
That was actually, I feel good about that.
Timon texted B4 earlier.
What?
What about Mr.
Tyman?
Huh?
What about him?
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Henry's been really into a brown bear, brown bear.
You want to say that?
Brown fox, brown bear.
Brown bear, brown bear.
What is that the next part?
Do you're going to get.
Goldfish.
A teacher.
Yeah.
What else?
I see a.
Black sheep.
Like yeah.
Black sheep looking at me.
Classic.
His hair is great.
Your hair is great.
Your hair is.
is great. You have good hair.
My haircut. Oh, he got a haircut.
Is that true?
Who did?
Who did? But we did.
Bo, he did?
Yeah, but we got a haircut.
We should get, we should get Teddy. You know Mr. Jake has a little baby at home?
Did you know that? His name's Teddy. You say Teddy?
No. We should get Teddy. Brown bear, brown bear.
Do you think he would like it?
Yeah, okay. Yeah.
My favorite, maybe my favorite thing in the world right now is, let's see if he'll do it, actually.
Henry, what song do you want to listen to?
Do you want to listen to a song?
The Beatles.
Beatles, okay.
Yeah.
Preview of Wednesday's episode.
Play eight days a week by the Beatles.
Play eight days a week, the Beatles.
Yes, yes.
That's my favorite thing you does.
Yes.
Yes.
They're doing it.
They're doing it.
We're not going to look at the picture right now.
There he is.
Okay, that's.
George, John, Ringo, and Paul.
Oh, Ringo.
Ringo.
Ringo.
Henry, yeah, first of all, Henry thinks Siri is on everything.
So the other day, he was messing with Hattie CD player.
Siri, play Moana.
It's like it's a CD player.
Oh, sorry.
Oh, sorry to everybody out there for that one.
But he'll, yeah, anytime it's like,
now playing Moana by, you know, various artists.
He'll go, yes.
Be loud.
We got it really loud?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We go crazy loud.
Anyway, that's Henry for you.
Yes.
Right?
You say, yes.
No.
Yeah.
Okay.
I think we should get that book for Teddy, though.
That would be fun.
What other books should we get them?
We got any other favorite books?
Beans.
Beans?
Yeah.
What?
He's doing an ad read.
I'm joking.
He's joking.
He's just joking. I'm joking with the beads.
So goofy.
All right. Anyway, well, should we talk about?
These PPA events, you know, you've probably heard of talk about it for years now,
but you have just the most interesting conversations because so many people approach you,
you know, for every 10 conversations, you're going to have a couple that are just a little out there.
You probably remember in years past, like, I met a guy who was a former American
gladiator by the name of Nitro.
Whoa. You know, just like, there's always
some characters out there.
Plenty more characters
this week. Not going to talk about all of them.
I'm going to talk about one, though. Guy comes up to us.
Hey, can I get a picture? A huge fan.
You know, I actually really respect what you guys
do. I know doing content is really hard.
I do it myself, so I really get the grind.
Scott goes, oh, you do pickleball content as well?
He goes, no, no, no. I, um, I'm basically
Charlie Kirk. I just go to college campuses
and own libs.
Own lives.
And Scott goes, be careful.
Be careful.
It's true.
And so he
had that conversation. We found out
that we debriefed the end of the night that he came up to each one of us.
Me, Scott, Isaac, Kyle,
and said the exact same thing to all four of us
like in a different way. Like, hey, I really respect
what you guys do. I'm Charlie Kirk.
Yeah. He's got a script.
I don't know if you, yeah.
Does he, and did he have a shirt?
Does I own, I own libs?
Uh. You get down?
Yeah.
I own lives.
Yeah, he did.
Come to think, yeah, I'm thinking, yeah, he did.
Yeah, were you there for that time?
And I don't remember.
I don't think so.
I don't, doesn't seem familiar.
Like Thursday night, I think you just missed him.
Yeah.
But yeah, he was, uh, he was something.
Huh.
Did he look like, uh, Charlie?
Maybe similar features.
Pretty short guys.
though. Yeah, he was excited for us.
Did you watch his videos of him holding lips?
Yeah, I did go on his Instagram because he tagged me and he's actually got a pretty
decent following, but I don't know if I'd say what he's doing is exactly what Charlie Kirk is
doing.
Probably not. I look at what he's doing and I think, that has to be so exhausting.
Right. Just like riling people up.
Yeah. Yeah. Just for a living.
Yeah, like you are escalating situations for a living.
Not good.
Huh.
But met him.
I overheard a different interesting conversation,
but I'm guessing that's one of the ones that you're not going to...
I don't know.
Which one?
The one where the guy just was pretty down in the dumps.
Came up to you.
Uh-oh.
I forgot about that.
Oh, yeah.
Just quickly saw a guy.
I'd say I'm acquaintances with.
I've met him since movie to...
Phoenix. Hey man, good to see you. How you doing?

Takes like five seconds
to put on his backpack and not respond to me.
Like, surely he heard me.
And then eventually he goes,
it's okay.
It's okay.
It's okay.
Oh, it's a good.
Yeah.
Are you,
are you in pain?
No, no.
I said, are you,
what did I say?
I think, didn't he kind of volunteer
like, it's just pain or something like that?
Yeah, I think I asked a follow question.
Like, you doing okay, man?
pain. Okay, where are you at? Were you playing earlier today? Do you get injured or something?
No. She broke up with me. Oh. Dang, man. And then Tyman's kind of an ear shot. And I was just like, I guess I'm going to console this guy on the sidewalk right now.
Do you touch him? So I did. Do you hand on the shoulder? I think I did. I think I adapted him up and told him.
I was pretty honest with him. I said, I'm sorry. It's probably going to suck for a while. But they
it'll get better.
It's good.
Hey.
Keep it realistic.
Yeah.
Wasn't prepared for this conversation.
Sorry, Mrs. Wright's right around the corner.
That's not realistic.
Yeah.
She's just on the other side of that neck cord, buddy.
Okay.
I think that's good, Jake.
Like you did the right thing.
Hey.
Yeah, it kind of caught me off guard.
I was like, I was just kind of hoping to win or loss, but I'm sorry about the pain.
I meant like, how's it going like in the tournament?
Oh, no.
I don't care about that.
This is a, yeah, this dome here is just, we are only talking about things within this dome.
Scott's been pretty encouraged. I think we've ran into a few Chinese folks over the course of the week,
and he's dishing out Mandarin, and they're liking what they're hearing. Okay. It's great. Scott sounds pretty good.
I believe it. Scott does. Yeah. Yeah. He can alter his voice to anything, so. Yeah, he's a tonal guy. He'll,
yeah, he'll do great, I'm sure. And I bet they just appreciate him trying, you know? Yeah, I think it's just not common to hear
white people speak Mandarin.
They're like, that's so cool that you're trying it, buddy.
He did say a couple of times.
He's like, like, I do want to learn Mandarin just like for the sake of our business and
stuff.
But he's like, there's a pretty decent percentage that's just, I just want to go up
to Chinese people and like, even just like filming myself and just speak Mandarin to them
really well and see what their reactions.
Yeah.
I think there's like a YouTuber that does, he's just like this white guy looks just so American.
And then like, he just knows he's fluent in several different languages.
so just go to a different country and just like knock these people off their feet.
And it's like, it's pretty cool.
Is that an expression?
Knock people up their feet?
Knock their socks off?
Sweep them off their feet.
But I don't know if he's trying to do that.
You're trying to knock them off?
I don't know.
I think you can knock people off their feet.
And then sometimes you notice, wow, they don't even have socks on either.
Double whammy.
Or maybe they had socks.
Yeah, they had socks.
And then when you knocked them off their feet.
Yeah.
Sox flew off.
Yeah.
All right, you guys.
You guys mind if I drop a play for you real quick?
Sure.
Got something we need to...
You have a pickleball whiteboard?
I just unwrapped it.
This is actually my first time using it.
Oh my gosh.
I didn't even really made those.
Yeah, I didn't either.
$9 on Amazon.
I thought we might use this for the pickleball podcast.
Absolutely.
I'll tell you what else we're used it for.
Diagrams like this.
What do you see right there?
A stick figure on a pickleball court.
How's he looking?
look, though. His eyes look closed. Tired. That's right. Yeah. I was just about to say he looks
tired and yawning. That's correct. Hey, Rachel Coup Triplett's home. I'm just drawn up some plays.
You know how I do it. Now, what do you see next to this man, kind of in this area?
Are we calling in a kitchen? Are we calling a rectangle?
I see a blank space.
I see a wide open space.
Yeah.
That is his bed.
Oh, right.
I see his bed.
Thank you.
Now, what is this area right here where I've drawn the X?
Place I wouldn't go.
Rug on his floor.
Okay.
Those are his bed sheets.
Oh, gosh.
So how do we get this man in this bed with these bed sheets?
He's tired.
These are good sheets.
He needs to be right here sleeping.
How do we get him here?
Does anyone know?
I would go around the border on the bed sheets, put those on there.
That's right.
You're gonna go here.
You're gonna go to cozy earth.
Okay?
CZE.
CZE for short.
You're gonna CZE.
That's where you're gonna get your bed sheets here,
and you're gonna come right here to the middle.
You're gonna move.
Meet the man there and then you're going to go to sleep.
And then you'll be saved.
And then you'll be saved.
Wow.
I couldn't have said it better myself, buddy.
CZE.
CozyRth.com slash ghostrunners is where you get those bed sheets.
You can also get joggers there.
I'll write the promo codes so you guys can remember it.
Please.
Yeah, make it really legible.

I wrote it right there in the middle.

Thank you, Coach Jake.
Legs.
We did like a fun little event
last week.
And to my surprise, in time of surprise, a ghosty showed up.
Shout out Daniel and his friend Diego, I'm pretty sure.
Sounds right.
Yeah.
Guy walks in, he goes, what's up, timing?
Oh, hey.
Hey, dude.
Hey, dude.
And then like an hour later, he comes up.
He's like, sorry, I just acted like we knew each other.
Like, I listened to the podcast.
Like, uh, that makes more sense.
People like to do that.
I don't, I don't hate it.
Yeah.
It messes with you a little bit.
I'm like, do you know me?
do we know each other from
right something else yeah
yeah
because sometimes someone will have a face
that's like I do kind of feel like
maybe I have met you and do know you actually
so I don't know yes exactly
that's when it's hard
it's like you're about my age
I've basically taken nice to meet you
out of my vocabulary from now on
it's good to see you
it was good to see you yeah
like allude to this maybe wasn't our first time
because I'm not sure
hey man it's good to see you
yeah because either way it's true
it was still true yeah it still kind of covers your bases even if we just yeah met for the first time or i'm
forgetting the actual first time we met yeah i'm big on good to see you now it's good and buddy
that's perfect um anything else about pbbaa um it was fun having like rachel rober
stay at the house all week because you just get a glimpse into like what it's like to be a professional
athlete. And obviously it's it's pickleball. It's far from the NFL or anything, you know, at that level.
But still, just like you see action on the court and then you get to debrief it afterwards or issues
with referees or drama with the other team or, you know, conditions. You know, it's just kind of fun to
like debrief and get that insider look. And also just fun just to, we did a bunch of content together.
You know, Isaac drove a scooter over. We're ripping around in that for some content.
I think what else?
Oh, she won gold.
I mean, that was fun too.
Is she winning like every time?
It feels like she wins all the time.
No, there's
there's one girl.
Annalie Waters.
She is just
kind of just so much better
than the field right now.
She's the Nike one, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's good.
But Rachel won this time?
One gold once over this week.
So it's fun.
Was there also a tournament
in Kin City this weekend?
Yes.
A competing.
Pickleball tour was in Kansas City.
Oh, okay.
That's where I, that's where it's like,
it seems like the same thing to me, but I guess they're different.
They share the same letters. It's PPA versus APP,
so it's rather confusing.
And then there's going to be a PAP coming soon.
Pat.
Pam.
Okay, okay. So it's like, interesting.
Because I knew that you had something going on.
We, uh, we did the race.
Scott versus Kyle on a foot race.
Oh. Scott was so confident that he was,
would beat Kyle in a foot race.
So we're like, let's do it.
So we got the drone out.
And, yeah, before I, we set it up on the podcast a little bit too.
I was like, now just so everyone knows, everyone's clear.
Like, Kyle, you are Division I one basketball player.
Scott, what level did you play basketball at?
I stopped in middle school.
Okay, well, what was your best sport in high school?
Yeah, I was going to say speed.
Golf.
There's a lot of sports that speed.
Yeah, yeah, is required.
Yeah.
He's a golfer and a pickleball player.
results will be posted in episode two of the Friday group chat podcast.
No way to Scott.
Who knows what happened?
No way to Scott.
No way to know.
No way of knowing.
No way of knowing.
Scott has never been that fast.
Sorry, Scotty.
For his, for his, for how small he was, he should have been faster.
He was never, he could, he could scoot fine.
But maybe he won.
Yeah.
but I hope you did.
I don't think you did, but I really think you did.
Kyle so long.
Kyle, yeah.
Kyle has to be so fast.
A professional athlete.
Yeah.
Yeah, we'll see.
But we'll see.
How long was it?
We did 60 yards.
Oh, just a general, general, like everyone does 60 yards.
And honestly, I don't even know 60 yards.
We just did it in the street.
Oh, oh, okay.
So quite literally, it was from here to that light post,
but it felt about 60 yards.
Yeah.
both parties agreed on the distance.
Love it. Good.
It was crazy like the second time in left town.
All I did was film stuff.
I mean, Sunday morning, I like woke up.
And I mean, I'm still on my levothairoxen window.
I can't even have breakfast yet.
And I'm flying a drone.
You know, my eyes are barely open.
It was just like nonstop.
Stuff.
I was like, man, we could have timed all of this better.
Yeah.
Just drone in this.
I will say they ran faster than the drone.
Maybe I don't know how to work it.
Oh, I was going to say,
what are you drone it? You're drone in the race. The race. Oh, okay. Droning race. I want to do a YouTube
video. Everyone's doing those videos where it's like you have someone on your head and you're trying to
guess who you are. Oh yeah. You've seen those. I was like, let's do that with picklewall. So you shoot
YouTube video or the podcast. I needed you, timing. I'm sorry. I'm probably why I went to bed at 7.30
that night. Yeah, I was going to say, sounds like a long day. Yeah. Makes sense.
That's fun. So you did a picklewall player on your head or did you just do
Yeah, it was like anyone in the
Pickleball industry, so not necessarily a pro player
you know, it could be creator.
You know, one time they did it to me.
It was myself, you know.
Different stuff like that.
We had one be Kyle's ex-girlfriend
who's in the pickleball space.
That was pretty electric.
That was probably the best moment.
That's pretty good.
Instead of saying her name,
when he realized who it was,
he just goes, why did you guys do this?
That's pretty funny.
That's good.
Yeah, it was a great week.
Super Bowl.
productive. I don't think we need to turn on a camera again for like a month and can just
just edit and post. Great. Nice. Get stuff out there. So it's fun. Sweet. Timmon, what's coming
down the pipeline for you? What do you got going on? Um, I don't know if this is something I'm
gonna do like for a week. I'm gonna go back to Ohio in October for like a little Christmas movie.
Oh, that's fun with a lot of the same crew. That's right. Little like, I think the movie's just
called Holly Jolly Christmas. Of course it is.
I don't know what else it would be called.
I think that we're filming like kind of doing half of the filming in October
because it's only six days.
You can't like that would be crazy to shoot a whole movie.
But then I think we're doing the rest in like November or something like that.
But yeah, that'll be fun.
Okay.
Is it an Amish thing or is it like?
No, I think it's fully unrelated to the Amish thing.
Okay, okay.
Yeah.
I'm excited to shoot something in Ohio that's not or just even a movie that's not Amish.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's like, yeah, I don't know.
That's something that's something.
radar. Okay. I did have a question written down that I'm curious for input on. I just wrote
down, is it acceptable to join someone's jam without consent? Oh. This is like for anyone
wanting, this is Spotify jam. Yeah. Where most people's Spotify app on their phone have it,
I think, automatically set to where if you're playing music on Spotify, I think it's specifically
if your app is open, anyone who has Spotify can open Spotify.
and like join into your jam and start adding song to the queue.
I'm just curious if it's, is that acceptable?
No. No? No. No.
Yeah, this is a good question. And I have some thoughts on this. I think, yeah, it is not okay.
I understand that there's nuance, but no. Okay. You need verbal consent.
Okay. Although it is ripe for a nice little prank. Yes. You queue up something.
Correct. That's why it's not acceptable. It's because I've thought about it. And I thought,
there's some ways you can go real sideways with this.
Yeah.
Especially you find so I think Scott knows about this now,
but I think like a year ago,
you throw a little cue on there,
you assume Scott has no idea about Spotify jam,
and he's going, I did not press this song.
Scott, what are you playing this for?
The connectedness,
the connectivity of Spotify to Spotify
makes me feel like maybe we should be using
whatever technology this is better.
Hmm.
I don't know what else I would want it in,
but I like the idea of like so collaboratively
being able to like do something together.
Yeah.
With our phones out.
Hmm.
Um,
so you're saying that like anybody can join,
like if you're at your house on Spotify,
I can join your jam?
No.
No, no, no.
I think it's,
I think it's Bluetooth.
I'm pretty sure.
Um, yeah.
Okay, okay, okay.
95% sure it's Bluetooth enabled or something like that.
Okay.
And I know that there's a setting in Spotify
where you don't automatically start a jam
when you're playing music.
Um,
Do you think it needs, like, some connection to you as in, like, connection as far as, like, friends or somebody in your contacts?
Or it's like, because I do notice, like, I've seen, like, Time and Imps just Jam.
And I don't think I have, like, I'm not friends with you on Spotify, but I'm, I don't think you have your contact number.
I think it's proximity.
So, like, have you ever been in a coffee shop and seen the option for it?
I think I've been in some kind of setting where I have.
And I've, okay.
I can't remember if I did anything.
I don't know.
But I, that sounds familiar that I've, like, seen the option.
I don't know.
I was afraid to ask the question because I definitely somewhat often find myself joining people's jams.
Sometimes it's just to be like, know that I could have the power to do it.
Sometimes I don't even add stuff.
But like, give us an example.
It's like, okay, this is the vibe.
Like, okay, for example, me and Isaac and Scott, maybe are driving somewhere in Isaac's truck.
Okay.
Isaac's got some Justin Bieber on.
Okay.
I think there's another Justin Bieber song I like.
I'm going to slip in the jam and add that.
Yeah.
Slip in the jam.
I try, I try to keep the vibe pretty matched, I think.
Okay.
But I don't know.
I, here's the thing.
I'm also asking just like, because sometimes I'm like, I don't know if this is my place.
I was, that's why I was nervous to ask because like, I wonder if you guys will just say no.
Well, I think is a very valid answer.
Okay.
Here's my first thought was like, I thought you were, whenever you first said this, I thought
that you were able to like change and like add songs from afar.
So let's say you are listening.
I think so.
You're helping your mom get ready for dinner.
And you guys are chopping cucumbers together.
And all of a sudden I'm like, hey, this would be a funny prank.
Watch me put this song on.
That's just completely...
Rum, dumb, dumb.
Yes.
Like something vulgar or whatever.
I'm like, no, you can't do that.
Especially now that I'm a dad, I'm like, I'm listening to Moana with my kids.
And Jake throws on the yin-yang twins.
And I'm like, no, that's not cool.
But if it's like, hey, I'm in the same room as you and we're all listening to it together,
I think there's a lot more gray area with that.
As far as like, hey, the mood was kind of more Justin Bieber
and you threw a dashboard confessional song in there.
It's kind of an odd choice.
You could get banned from the jam.
I think, and if someone says like, dude, what is this?
I added that.
You're like, dude, you're out.
You're right.
You're jam band.
But I like Jamband.
Grateful Dead, you know.
Opening the door to that.
That's kind of fun, just like for the vibe of the,
I feel like even just the car hangout or the,
place with a speaker hangout.
I don't know.
I had something else I was going to say.
My boy Jensen Harper, big into just getting in that jam.
Like, no, no problem.
I'm like, this is an interesting song.
And he's like, he's like going, singing every word.
And I'm like, oh, he added this song.
I like that.
I don't know.
I think that it's almost like, when I think about it,
I could see why someone who is like in total control
could be annoyed by that.
I don't know.
I almost think it's worth it.
Can a jam change a song halfway through?
Because then I say,
don't you dare do that to me.
I can't remember if I never risk it.
I don't know if the person outside the jam can skip.
They might be able to,
which is bad.
I don't think that someone should do that.
Because that's the only thing I'm in control of is like,
if we're listening to a song,
we've got to listen to the whole thing.
If it's not good enough to listen to the whole thing,
then it's not good enough to listen to.
Yeah, that's fair.
I will say the thing you asked about like from afar,
you can send a jam link.
And then like, you know,
oh, people who live apart from each other
can listen to the same song at the same time.
That's also fun. I like that, but that's usually
like, obviously, that's not non-consensual
because you've sent a link.
Jake, yeah. As a
old person,
do you remember
the original, the OG Spotify?
I mean, I mean,
I'm sure it's, I'm sure it's
of course. Of course I do.
On my, on my Mac
Linux. I don't know
what they, what the old operating system.
It was an ACER laptop.
It was my compact.
But like back in the day, Spotify wasn't even, maybe it wasn't a half, but I only used it on my
computer because I didn't even have an iPhone yet.
And you could, and maybe it's still like this, but like you could see, unless you turn
it off, you can see every single song that other people that were your friends were playing.
That's how I remember Spotify initially being marketed.
They're like, it's like social media with music, which looking back, I think,
No, the revolutionary part of Spotify was that you no longer needed to buy songs.
It was streaming.
But for whatever reason, that was not exciting.
It was like, you could see what they're listening to.
And that was what got us on to Spotify, I guess.
Yeah.
In like 2011, it was like when I got to college.
See, I just, I never knew that was like the selling point.
I just always thought, you don't have to buy a CD ever again.
They have every single song on here.
Yeah, that could be an SBA issue.
Maybe it was like, hey, we're not marketing it this way of the music industry
or else they were going to be like, no,
you can't put my songs on there.
I'll know,
no one to buy my stuff.
But that's,
and maybe you can still do that on the desktop version.
I think that it's still,
even on the iPhone version,
too,
I think that you can be that level of friends with somebody.
I think that maybe you, like,
can turn yours on to share with your friends
or something like that.
Yeah.
I like that.
That's fun.
Yeah.
I think it,
yeah,
even just like it's a conversation starter or something like that.
Like,
okay,
you listen to this guy?
Totally.
Cool.
Yeah.
No,
it was kind of,
I'm now kind of thinking,
college was such a crazy time for,
like,
technology and like that window we were there. It's like golden age. That's when's yeah.
Spotify came out. Snapchat came out. iPad came out. iPad. Instagram. Twitter was out where I was in high
school, but like got really popular in college. Um, the iPad. Skype. Are you big on Facebook in college?
ESPN 3. Sorry. What did you say about Facebook? ESPN 3 was like, it was like, it was like you get to stream sports on your
computer. That was like the first time anybody, all right.
I'd seen that.
Hubba,
what about Facebook?
Facebook was just a monster.
Oh, yeah.
From 2008 to, I don't know when,
but definitely like college age years to 2014.
Everyone was on Facebook.
And that's how you updated everyone.
It was awesome.
Yes, correct.
Yeah, the iPhone, Siri came out when we were in college.
Yes.
My first iPhone was the iPhone 5,
which had the first one to have the thumbprint on it.
Okay.
Nice. I had the 4S.
Pretty crazy. I'm trying to brag, but
4S. My first iPhone was also the iPhone
5S that my cousin gave me, I think.
Or I bought from my cousin. Really? It didn't
work. It didn't have like data. Yeah.
Because I was like young, but
it was fun. That's when I started, that's what I started
when I was going to be a big YouTuber.
I was filming my videos. Oh, you started flip-booking?
Because this, because this camera
is amazing, dude. Yeah. No,
I've never been better than this.
I pot touch. I got a free iPod touch
when I bought my computer.
iPod Touch was like the thing before,
it was like the iPhone for iPods only.
Dude, do you red box it up in college a lot?
I don't remember doing it in college.
I bit torrented in college.
I was the illegal guy.
Really? You're like dorm Wi-Fi
would let you do that?
Yeah, if you get around it, dude.
You got to, yeah.
Now, I don't remember necessarily doing it
on into my dorm.
I don't know.
I remember doing it specifically my senior year
when I lived off campus.
Really? I don't know if I ever had Wi-Fi good enough
or I don't know, maybe just didn't have the desire.
I've never downloaded a movie.
Okay.
I know I was pretty early into like Napster and Limewire and all that stuff.
Like we downloaded so many songs illegally,
not even knowing it was illegal,
but never won MP4.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I also had some friends that just had all that stuff too.
I feel like it was a little bit of me.
It was a lot more of like, you got that?
Can I have that?
Yeah, sure.
I'll send you.
Yeah, plug your iPod into here and I'll put it on there for you.
We just ate lunch here in Kansas City.
It's lunchtime in Kansas City, if you know what I mean?
And we went upstairs, Tim and I did.
Catherine Ellis made a nice little lunch.
She made something called a BLT chicken salad for me.
And I thought, that doesn't sound very good, but I'll try.
I'll give it a whirl.
Why not?
And might not have liked it that much.
Had it been regular old run-of-the-mill grocery store meat.
But guess what?
It wasn't.
It was good rancher's chicken.
And guess what?
What did I say, Timon?
You said,
I don't want to,
I don't want to like be dramatic.
But that is amazing.
Yeah, I said that.
Yeah.
I was like, I really did.
I was like,
yeah.
I was actually trying to remember what you said.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was it.
I was like,
I'm not trying to,
I'm not trying to be like two whatever,
but like,
this is really good.
Uh,
and she's like,
okay,
good.
new recipe. I threw it away because I didn't like it very much. So I need to go fish out
that recipe out of the trash. So Catherine should have all the confidence in the world that every
single time she uses good ranchers, good chicken. It will be good recipes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Mom, what we have for dinner tonight? Digging out of a good trash can. We're having good rancher

Speaking of MP4 is, what are you guys watching these days?
I feel like now that Teddy's probably going to come home soon, you know,
we're going to have some late middle of the night feeds.
You know, we're just a little more downtime.
Kind of.
NFL.
I got a good movie.
that you should watch if you haven't.
Maybe you have.
The Fugitive.
Oh, yeah.
Have we seen the Fugitive?
The Fugiv's been on TV for the last 15 years.
Here's a good one.
Shawshank Redemption, anybody?
Okay, I know it's not niche,
but I'm just saying,
I just saw for the first time.
Awesome.
Such a good movie.
Okay.
That's actually cool to know that it holds up to you.
Oh my gosh.
Because I think it's good.
It's so good.
Okay.
Have you heard of U.S. Marshals?
No.
Well, next.
Okay, great.
It's the same thing.
I was going to say, it's kind of the same thing, and it's awesome.
And it's Tommy Lee Jones.
He's the same guy, but just a different movie.
It's awesome, dude.
Have you ever gotten into the John Grisham movies?
I don't think so.
What are they?
Well, you know who John Grisham is?
No.
He's a famous author.
And so he's got all these like murder, murder mysteries.
He writes novels that are pretty, like, they're in the legal realm of things.
The firm, the plaintiff.
Pelican brief.
Yeah, the client.
Okay.
A time to kill.
Like all these like fun 90s, just good movies.
I watched, yeah, after the fugitive, I was like, I just need to watch more movies from the 90s, I think.
Yes.
Yeah, dude.
John Grisham movies are a great call, actually.
Yes, dude.
Like, I feel like the fugitive, I'm sure people loved it back then, but they probably didn't realize like, this is really good.
You know what's die hard?
They didn't know that the average movie in 2020s probably was like not really as good.
Die hard, dude.
I hear it's good.
Oh, it's awesome, dude.
Die Hard's awesome.
Man, just great movies all around.
Nineties movies are great.
John Grisham.
I'd write that down.
Yeah.
The firm.
That's Tom Cruise and Julie Roberts, I think.
I think a Time to Kill might have Samuel Jackson in it.
And Matthew McConaughey, that was his first, like, big movie.
Wow.
I watched a Tom Cruise movie that I hadn't seen before, War of the Worlds.
Okay.
Very.
Wow, I forgot about that.
Bleak movie.
What were you doing watching that?
I had just watched a video of a guy who watched every single Steven Spielberg movie and like ranked them.
And he was like, this one's pretty good.
I remember hearing about that as a kid because I, we watched, we had this like on DVD,
this super not very well-known movie called Dreamer.
It was about like a horse race and like the girl and it was Dakota Fanning.
And on the back of it, I always remember reading the back because what else we're going to do when you're eight years old is you read the back of DVDs.
And so it was like, it would say,
like Dakota Fanning, or not Dakota.
Is that hurt? Yeah. And it would be like, in parentheses,
War of the World. So I was like, cool. So that's how I knew about it.
Then 10 years later, I was like, I should watch it.
Is War of the World a remake?
Yes, I believe so.
Is it really? It was also a book.
But I can't, I'm looking at it.
I know it was a book.
I watched the Tom Cruise version in high school, I think just once.
But I remember thinking he did not have good throwing form,
throwing with baseball with his son in the backyard.
Killer.
I remember being critical of that.
Okay.
And I remember him having like the only car that worked in the world.
Yeah.
I need to watch more Steven Spielberg as well, not just other.
Steven Spielberg movies in the 90s, maybe.
That should be my, what I do.
I've already talked about runaway jury.
I just talked about that recently.
Never heard of it.
Man, I like, I think that might be John Grisham as well.
Let me see.
And it is the best one out of all of them.
I don't know.
seeing John Grisham off the top of my head.
But, um,
Rone away,
it's awesome.
Maybe it's John Grisham.
Okay, so I'll watch the fugitive.
That'll be Teddy's first movie.
Good.
I support that fully.
What is that line?
I didn't kill my wife.
Yeah, I don't care.
Classic, dude.
Holy cow.
What other good 90s movies?
I mean,
Goodwill hunting is completely different than those,
but just amazing.
Dude, you know what's not a 90s movie,
but kind of reminds me
of those kind of movies, like, whatever,
just legal, the Lincoln lawyer, Matthew McConaughey.
I think I did watch that once.
I really enjoyed that movie.
It's not going to win, you know, awards or anything,
but it's just a, it's another one of those fun,
just like, I don't know, fun movies.
Kind of a different world that I live in.
I don't live in the California lawyer world, you know.
Jake, have you seen signs?
Oh yeah, watch that
and that was my first horror movie.
Swing away.
I think it's like,
I wish that it was better
through the end
because I feel like it kind of falls apart
but like it's such a good movie.
It's just like Mel Gibson
like it's like I realized that the kid
I just,
because I just rewatched it like a couple nights ago
because I was hanging out with Zach.
I realized the kid in it is one of the Colkin brothers.
He's like the less,
the least known.
Oh, really?
There's like McCauley and Kieran and then like Rory Colkin
is like the kid in that and he's amazing.
Yeah.
Like, how do they get that many kids
and the same family be that talented?
I don't know.
It's kind of crazy.
Timon, are you familiar with the movie franchise
called Scary Movie?
Yes, I've heard of it.
Okay.
I haven't seen anything.
Yeah, so I was ever intrigued by those
when they were coming out
because I wasn't watching the movies
they were spoofing.
Right.
Until I saw signs and it was like, sweet.
Maybe I can now finally understand.
I don't know which one would have been
Scary Movie 3 or whatever.
I was like, I'm going to watch Scary Movie 3
and sure enough,
loved it because they were making fun of signs.
Cool.
It was great.
Yeah, they were making fun of like,
that one guy's cowboy hat
just getting bigger and bigger.
And I think the baseball bat
when he was like swinging away.
Swing away.
Yeah.
That's my memories of signs.
Scary movie, to me,
might as well have been rated
NC17 as a kid.
I always thought that was like
the most inappropriate movie of all time.
Like, did you have any movies like that?
Because Catherine just just past week,
she was watching the mask of Zorro.
And I was like,
I've never seen this movie.
I wasn't allowed to as a kid
because I was probably 12 when it came out.
It was PG-13.
And so in my head,
I was like,
that movie's inappropriate.
I can't watch that.
Even like when Gatherman would watch it.
Like, whoa.
You seen this movie?
That was crazy.
Do you have any like that?
There was like,
probably not.
Same with like Wild Wild West.
I've never seen that movie.
But to me it was like,
apparently it was too inappropriate to see.
So in my head,
I'm like,
it must be terrible.
I think my example of this
is just daytime soap operas.
Okay.
Because we would go from like, whatever, you know, Price is Right.
Yeah.
To Andy Griffith's show.
Maybe the news would slip in there.
But at some point, days of our lives would come on.
And we're all like sprinting to get to remote.
It was like a hard rule in our family.
We don't watch the bad show.
I don't know what was in it, but I knew.
Not good.
Right away.
Yeah, hurt my eyes.
Get the remote.
Don't look.
Yeah, those people were a little too clear on the screen.
for the soap operas.
Yeah, they moved without blur.
Uh-huh.
We didn't like that in my family.
We're not allowed to do that.
You see way too much.
Yeah, that's so funny.
Same with Simpsons.
It was kind of that way, too,
because it was also like,
it's scary and I think it's inappropriate.
I don't know what's going to be in here.
No thanks.
Yeah, nice try.
So.
Anyway.
So watch the fugitive.
Watch the fugitive.
Perfect.
Runaway jury.
Watch runaway jury.
Really?
Lincoln lawyer.
Yeah.
Runaway jury, I loved.
also that movie um what did i just talk about that enemy of the state will smith movie
good movie um mask of zorro apparently pretty good if you're okay with smut um
shrek is a maybe i don't know i might just go back to the classics you know what's funny is like
uh for every kid that we've had maybe not every kid but definitely at least a few of them there's been
like themes i think for bow we watched a bunch of
superhero movies. Like we just got like, we just kept watching superhero movies, which were not
superhero people, but it was like, oh, I remember Spider-Man's good, let's watch Spider-Man.
Then we watched that and you're like, that was fun. Let's watch. I'm never seeing the Avengers.
Let's watch the Avengers. Let's watch the Avengers. And then I think for one of the kids, maybe it was
amazing race that we watched a bunch of. And then one of them, I think we watched a lot of Shark Tank.
I think one of them, maybe Catherine watched Lost. I don't know. So it's like, Catherine has a lot
more time, you know, that she's watching stuff
the newborn than I do. But
anyway, so it is kind of fun. Maybe you'll
just get on like a theme kind of thing. Like, we watched
every Gene Hackman movie.
Sorry with Hoosiers and just kept going.
So, honestly,
the Amazing Race might be it. I don't know if we,
you know, might have too much time
to, we'll need more than just the Amazing Race.
But a little preview, Wednesday's
episode. Yes. We've got Ghosties
who, none of this to the podcast,
but are on this upcoming season
of The Amazing Race. It premieres in two nights.
Wednesday night.
And so we have them on the Wednesday episode.
It's going to be electric.
They're great.
Yeah.
I'm so excited.
They do have old episodes on Hulu, I believe, for the Amazing Race.
Okay.
Okay.
If I need to, like, wet my beak.
Oh, yeah.
You can binge, boy.
You can binge.
It's amazing.
Amazing race is so good.
So, yeah, check them out.
Those are, yeah, those are my recommendations for things to watch are all those old movies.
Just look up 90s stuff, man.
apparently John Grisham
I looked up John Grisham books
that went into movies
Christmas with the cranks
according to Jim and I
is a John Grisham book
Huh
Do we think that's true?
Seems a little out of
Yeah
Like his genre
But that's okay
You know a movie we all watch
This could be a win of the week for me
I know it's a Wednesday thing
But we all watch Toy Story 2 together
This past Friday
And it was so good
That's a great movie
Said hello to
What is it?
Jesse and Buckeye
What was the name?
Buckeye.
Oh, H?
No, bull's eye.
Dang it.
But it was the first time, maybe ever that, like, truly all six of us were laying there, lying there watching a movie together.
Like, Henry actually, like, sat still for a decent amount of it, which is awesome.
So cool.
And Toy Story 2 is so funny.
Yeah.
I'm a married spud.
I'm a married spud.
Make way for the single guy.
Anyway.
What happens at Toy Story?
Is that Al's Toy Bar?
It is.
Season 2?
All the way to work.
I've got to go all the way to work on a Saturday.
So good, man.
Where did you guys watch it?
Right there in the living room, baby.
Living room.
Yeah.
I love going downstairs for a movie.
We've got the bigger screen down here.
Turn off all the lights.
We've got the sound bar.
We've got the subwifers.
It just doesn't happen as often as I want it to.
So it's okay.
It's okay.
We've got a big old 42-inch screen upstairs, and it's great, you know.
Just fine.
It's doing just fine.
something that was fun this past weekend for me
and something I might kind of get into.
You guys ever been doing a state sale?
I think I've walked through one before.
I've maybe been when like some of our neighbors
maybe were like somehow somewhat close to us,
but I don't know.
I don't know, man.
If anything else, it's just kind of a fun,
like just glimpse into somebody's life.
I don't know.
Like oftentimes it's like people that have passed away
or that are moving and don't want to move all their stuff.
But it's like it's kind of everything.
Like it's not just like, you know,
the things that they decide to put out like books from our garage sale.
It's like all sorts of stuff.
So Bo and I went to one.
And then he liked it so much.
He's like, is there any more?
And I was like, let's see if we can find another one.
So we like kind of went hunting for another estate sale, found one.
That's fun.
Went to it.
And I'm like, this could be kind of a fun way to just like, like,
spend a day or spend a morning,
day day kind of thing.
So I don't know if we're going to like truly try to buy very much when we go.
But it's just fun to like,
and you can just like go throughout their house.
Like you just got to go through their rooms and like,
I don't know.
It's kind of an odd,
oddly fascinating thing to me.
Like just like seeing like,
because every once in a while it's like there's some super old thing that like,
like you could never think that you wanted,
but then you see it and it's like,
that's kind of cool.
Like old sweatshirt that's like,
that just says Kansas City Chiefs in embroidered.
Like, not even anything special, but it's like, that's kind of awesome.
Vintage.
Anyway.
But Bo found that the second estate show we went to, this guy apparently was a big
Cleveland sports fan.
In Cleveland, they have a football team named the Browns, timing.
And the Browns are like historically so bad for all our life.
Like, truly, just so terrible.
But the Browns have like these super fans that dress up like dogs.
They call themselves a dog pound.
And so there was this stuffed animal dog.
dressed up as a browns, like in browns gear and stuff.
And Bo's like, Bo brought his money.
And so Bro's like, I want to buy that.
And the Browns, who are so, so bad, I can't stress how bad they are, somehow won this
past Sunday.
And I think maybe it was Bo.
Maybe Bo lifted the curse for the Browns.
Because he bought this little bear or this little dog, stuffed dog at this estate sale for $4.
That's fun.
Is he like playing?
with it or what does he do with the dog? Yeah, yeah, he plays with it sometimes. I mean, but he likes to
sleep with it. Crusher is the dog's name. He had a little tag that said the name on it. Um,
yeah, the other night when I was putting in bed, he's like, oh, can I go get Crusher real quick?
I was like, yeah, go get Crusher. So he's into it. Broke the curse. That's fun. How old is Bo? He's
seven? Six. Big time six. So he's fun, man. Yeah, it was a fun little time, just him and I.
I'm trying to do like once a month, uh, time, like, intensity.
time with each of my kids. Nothing crazy. Like, not, I'm not trying to, like,
take them to an amusement park or something, but just like an hour, you know,
with each kid, like intentionally. So that was kind of this time. It's like,
let's just do a little adventure here. So, Bo, you and I are going to go buy some dead people's
stuff. Come on. Bo. Let's check the old bits real quick. Uh,
the old bits. We got, we got some, got some good estate sales coming up here.
So they had a jukebox in the basement, which
Jukebox, pretty fun.
Yeah, kind of fun.
Had to explain to Haddy and Bo what it was and everything, but...
Hey, Siri, play jukebox.
What do you think a jukebox would cost?
Oh, man.
The point of this is, like, I think sometimes these estate sales really over-inflate prices.
Oh, they do?
I was going to say, like, the opposite.
So maybe not.
Maybe some of them are like, let's just try to get it out of there.
The first number, like, unbiased towards what you said?
It came to mind was like $100.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Um, no.
Uh, exactly 500.
And this one they said was like a little bit like, it's like, yeah, it needs some work,
but it's a pretty cool jukebox.
And I'm like, it was priced at $750.
Wow.
And I mean, it's like a legit like large, like it would take some, you know, manpower to get
this thing up the stairs from the basement kind of like it's like a big thing.
It's not like, you know, a desktop jukebox.
I don't know, whatever.
But like, still, it's like, what am I going to do with this jukebox?
Yeah.
Anyway.
How does an old school jukebox work?
Where are the files?
No, they're just records.
So all those records are in there?
Yeah.
Huh.
I think so.
And so you just press it and then it's like,
it goes and picks it out and puts it down on the record player,
and it just starts playing.
That's cool.
Wow, that seems hard to like transport.
That's cool.
I know.
$750, though, I don't think so.
Let's try.
Go Browns.
So, anyway.
State sales. I'm kind of into them. It's just kind of a fun way to like that is fun.
Just see things, see things that people were into and just kind of get a glimpse.
Every once in a while, you get a good, you know, Christmas ornament for your wife.
She says, yeah, I'll take one of those. Okay, cool. Great. Three bucks.
Yeah. Welcome for the dog pound. That's right.
Fun. Yeah. All right, boys. I'm going to do review of the week, if that's okay with you guys.
That's great. I'm sorry, I was looking at my notes and I was like, what does this mean?
the growing fix humored of the kid
the brown fox humored over a lot
I was like oh
swipes
this is hard to interpret
yeah
all right yeah do some reviews
the week
mine's a five star review from Danny G
Danny G
I work from home
and planned my week around this podcast
funny and positive
with a dedicated community
that's a great review
that's awesome
thank you Danny G
something stars
how many stars was it
it was five out of
five from what I can tell. Sweet. Wow. Five out of five review. All right. Five star review from
Boone Hoffer, Dietrich's boy. You brought your best. I've been listening for about a year and it has
been such a wonderful experience. I started at the most recent episode, which was the 500th,
and decided to start back from the beginning on 420 RN. You're an RN guy time?
RIN. RIN. Do you really say RIN when you read it? No. Okay. I was like,
Dang, that's cool.
Y'all have been there since I started high school, moving states,
and a whole bunch of other stuff,
and it's been awesome to see how much you guys have grown since the first episode.
And as a Christian myself, I love how y'all are never scared to share your faith
and always sharing, or always sharing joy.
Thanks for always making me smile through hard times.
God bless Boone Hoffer, North Carolina.
Let's go, Boone.
Come on, Boone.
God bless you, Boone.

One more player, boo!
Reminds me, there is a pro player who hired a, like, a coach to sit on his bench, like, during his matches.
And, like, use your legs.
Like, dude, this coach is, like, saying, like, not even a full sentence.
He'll just say it to say the word legs.
Legs.
He'll be sitting there watching.
Were you here for any of this time in?
I can't remember if you got to see this.
I didn't see, like, any championship court stuff.
Oh, buddy.
he's like watching intently
like looking and acting like a coach
but then when it's time to like say anything
let us go
effort
grit
this means something
one point he said
it's like in between serves
play for keeps
oh yeah
how much are you paying this guy to say
just to shout nouns at you
and play for keeps
this is so embarrassing
positive
positive
Positive. Positive. Positive.
Yes.
Yes. Yes.
That's all he did all week.
Play for keeps.
Yeah, I could do that.
Maybe you're a professional athlete and you need someone to tell you play for keeps.
Is that what you want?
You're not mentally strong enough.
There's no way that's helping.
Yeah.
Hopefully that guy is actually contributing something else off the court.
Like, he's doing some drills or something.
He's like, hey man, I need you to come and be there on my side to remind me.
Work.
Come on work on it.
Push.
Push.
Push.
Positive.
Push.
Boom, boom.
Boom.
Good boy.
Push it.
Out, out, out, out, out, out.
My bad.
That was in.
My bad.
Dude, that was kind of a crazy part of this, you know, we are.
are, we're there watching Rachel every game she plays.
But her women's partner, you know, they, early in the week, they played to practice
points against Scott and Isaac.
And then I think they kind of realized, hey, this is actually a pretty good practice for
us.
So every day this week, they spent time together and we were all like practicing and yada yada.
And so two things happened.
One, I think they got so comfortable with us that there would be a close call on the
court and you could challenge things down in pickleball.
And they would look to us like, should we?
challenge this.
I've never been in that position before.
Yeah.
Like a professional athlete is looking to you
like, what's the call?
Oh gosh.
What are you think?
You should be filming, dude.
You should film and then you could go back real quick.
Yeah, I just shrugged every time
they looked at me.
Oh, you didn't want to be held accountable
for like making a call.
Because what happens if they miss if they lose a challenge?
I think you get one free challenge
and then if you miss that one
and then miss another one, then you like lose a point or whatever.
Okay.
Yeah, you would shrug, you go, I didn't see it.
And then you'd talk like, it was out there.
It was for sure out.
I saw it.
They should have challenged it.
I don't know why they didn't.
So that was the first thing that happened is they were always looking to us for calls.
And the second thing happened is that Rachel's partner, a girl by the name of Paris,
who's like sponsored by a big competitor of ours.
She's with Franklin for her paddle, her gear, her everything.
And like her post-game interview, like they just won.
Credit, who do you have, or Paris, who do you have to thank for, you know, this week?
well, Rachel's been an amazing partner.
I want to thank all the fans for coming out.
And I want to give a big shout out to the Friday guys
for giving us good warm-up points all week long.
That's right.
It's like, all you know, Franklin's hating that.
I mean, she's been tagged us in her caption.
Like, shout out to at Friday pickleball
for all the great support this week.
That's awesome.
That's pretty fun.
Yeah, they're just steaming over there at Franklin.
Yeah, I was like, Scott,
how do you say leverage in Mandarin?
Franklin headquarters are dying right now,
Crumbling to the road. Kyle said that we should be we should comment on that post something that really stirs the pot is like
Really enjoyed all of our conversations this week Paris or something like that like oh yeah, we'll have to continue that great talk we had
You brought up a lot of good points. Congrats. That's good legs legs legs push
Oh, did you ever have you ever seen those uh sorry college basketball um they're able to like
review and like challenge things now. And they usually, and they usually hire like, or have like a
assistant, like a teacher's assistant kind of thing, the grad assistant as the person who's in
charge of like very quickly looking at the replays and like saying like telling these like,
you know, million dollar coaches if they should challenge or not. I think you would be really,
you would have been really good at that in college. Like you would have been good at like being the
guy. It's like, I got the systems down. I got the, because they have access to all the cameras and
stuff and they'd be ready to go. So I could see you should do the same thing for your pickable.
If they're, if they're able to like ask the fans like, hey, did this touch out?
You could like really quickly go back to the video you just took zoom in real quick and be like,
yeah, sure did. You're right though. Like I technically have a media pass where I'm allowed to
film on court. There you go. There's probably not a rule against doing that yet. I can be the one
they make a rule for. Make the rule, dude. Yeah, yeah, be the, they call it the triplet rule.
like the Rooney rule.
Oh, yeah.
2020 tripling.
That's what he used to call him.
Yeah, I got some eyes on him.
That's right.
Why not?
That's a good idea.
Legs.
All right, ghosties.
I'm excited for Wednesday's episode.
It was fun.
We already recorded that one.
Got some fun, fun things with that interview with Katie and Charlotte.
So check it out Wednesday.
Check out Amazing Race with them.
It's going to be awesome.
I really hope they don't get booed at like the first episode.
I'm pretty invested now.
Well, I was telling time, and without knowing anything,
it seemed like the way they talked,
a few different times was like,
they at least made it a few.
They had some experience.
Surely.
You can tell they had some experience on the show, I think.
Yeah, they referenced a couple, like, crazy travel days.
Yeah, you know, like some of the cities we went to, or I don't know, like.
Yeah, like they at least made to episode three.
Right.
Right.
Surely.
We know how.
We'll see on Wednesday.
We will see.
All right, Ghosties.
We love you.
We'll talk to you.
Wednesday. See you Wednesday. So what I'm gonna'clock. Do you wish you could just hit skip on the
worst parts of your life? You know the same way you can skip an ad? I get it. I'm Siaia
and I live in Ice Cove. I've made some questionable decisions that didn't end up the way I planned
and today I'm still figuring it out. Somehow things usually get worse before they get better.
Apparently, that's how I roll.
So bundle up and come along for the bumpy ride.
