Good boy, timing.
You're treating Timon like a hunting dog for doing the bare minimum.
Good boy, pressing that button, timing.
So what we do around here, edification.
Praise in public, criticize like a dog.
Mm-hmm, timing.
Mm-hmm.
I'll start with this.
Relatable or gnaw.
Every time I drive past one of those advertisements on the high
with it says, does advertising work? It just did. I always look away. I always try to like not
give him to that. That's funny. I've never had the like urge to look away. But that sounds like
something I would have done when I was a kid. Can't get me? Yeah. I was just looking at this guy.
It happened to over there. And then I'll look at it again. I'm like, dang it. Stop looking at that thing.
You're trying to forget what you just read. I didn't, it didn't work. It didn't work. It didn't work.
I don't even know what it said. I don't know why I'm saying it didn't work. I'm not
referring to anything.
That doesn't just work.
No?
No. No.
I don't know.
Maybe a little bit.
Maybe.
Dang it.
But I don't remember the phone number,
so it didn't totally work.
Right.
Right.
Exactly.
Huh.
Yeah.
Not relatable as then I've done it,
but I can understand the sentiment.
I just don't want,
I don't want to be influenced by people.
I want people to be influenced by me.
Basically.
It's like,
like, every time,
like every once in a while,
I'm not going to like buy that thing right now
because I'll think I got influenced by this,
by this ad.
You're going to wait a month or two for the iPhone duo
eventually.
Dude, Caitlin Conno
texted me, she's like, I thought about buying you one.
Like, I thought about just going for it.
I was like, that would be hilarious.
But it's so funny. I don't want it.
So please don't.
It'd be ridiculous.
Uh, uh, oh, oh, I think this tight beat means
that it's going down with some random thoughts
in white meat, too.
Then West best friends eating fast food on repeat.
So come along.
have some fun and go ahead. Get on your feet because it's a ghost from a spot.
Anyway, this is a good episode. You guys have anything else or we feel good?
It's been a good episode. No. Not a whole lot else. Just really enjoying this fall weather.
What's it like in the Midwest? Beautiful. Perfect. It is so awesome. Probably like high 70s right now.
early mornings, nice brisk.
I've been sleeping with my window open.
Oh.
Been sleeping on the trampoline.
No, I'm just good.
I'm sleeping anywhere I can.
It's awesome.
It's soup season a little bit.
It's, yeah, just, I love, I love the fall.
This is the last thing I'll say.
And then we can wrap it up.
I love the fall because specifically I love football.
And I feel like football gets me in a rhythm of my week.
that I am pretty lacking.
I mean, a lot of things with fall,
but like, you know, we go to church on Wednesdays.
We go to, you know, all these different things.
But like, football is contributing to the rhythm of like,
I know what I'm doing on Monday night.
I know what I'm doing on Thursday night.
I know what I'm checking in on Saturdays.
I know what I'm doing Sundays.
You know, I'm like able to have those like anchors in my week.
Whereas before it was like kind of Wednesday's church,
Sunday's church, Saturdays,
dad or day a little bit, you know.
beyond that, it's a little bit like every week is different kind of thing.
Now it's like, I know I got some staples.
College football.
And sorry, I know we're trying to wrap this episode up, but.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'll just say this.
No, not really.
This year I've watched a little bit more just because it feels like it's kind of made, like,
or been available.
Like, oh, I have an hour right now.
Just not like the kids are having their quiet time or something like that.
Kids are sleeping on a trampoline.
usually yeah usually the kind of the the unofficial agreement i don't think if i like begged and pleaded
katherine would be like no only one full day of football a week you know nothing like but it's just like
i'm not going to be an absent father and just watch football for two days straight nor do i honestly
want to watch college football that bad i said something to rachel uh the other day about that i was
like i'm glad i didn't go to a big school where i feel like i have some allegiance or like feel this tug to
watch football on saturdays and i kind of like
like what I have.
I got one team.
I don't even watch other NFL teams.
I'll watch Rent Zone,
but I'm not just going to like pop a game on.
Oh,
see,
I could,
I watch almost every time.
Every,
yeah,
I love it.
You'll throw down like Panthers Colts.
Nah,
yeah,
maybe.
That was the prime time game last week.
No,
it was a good game.
Lions,
Panthers.
It was a good game.
Yeah,
yeah.
I watched that Panthers.
Yeah,
I watched that game.
That was a good game.
They were fun to watch.
I knew that groom for Bryce Young.
Yeah.
Yeah, I know.
He kind of feels like the Steph Curry of football a little bit.
Yeah.
Similar kind of karma mocha.
Yeah, maybe it's just the way they look.
Body types and skin color.
But anyway, that's all I have.
Tommy, do you have anything?
No, I was just thinking, like, I don't know.
I would like to have more of those kind of rhythms in my life.
Yeah.
Because I don't have, I don't really have football to carry.
about. And now you don't even have the gas station. Yeah. Oh, man, this is, okay, yeah. I guess before
you mentioned that before you finish, like, uh, I feel a little ashamed. I feel like I, oh, no, I feel like,
and I already, here's the thing. I already sympathized with people who go on diets and try to, like, uh,
lock in that area. Yeah. I think I empathize more now. Yeah, dude. Um, it's not as easy as it looks.
I...
All you gotta do is not do something.
And it's like, man, I want to do that thing so bad.
Yeah.
So I, this past weekend, I went to
Peach Tree City, Georgia for a church,
like, invite weekend, young people.
Amazing weekend.
P-Skey, Monster headquarters.
Yeah.
Best name for a city ever?
That I've found, I think, yeah.
Got to be.
It's so good.
And it's probably the best city ever, maybe.
Okay, I don't know.
As far as people go.
Wow.
But,
I, so on my way to the airport, I was like, you know what?
I don't know when I'm going to, I was running a little bit later than I wanted to.
I was like, I don't know about getting, I haven't eaten.
And if I am going to get food, I guess it's going to be either in the airport or on the way there.
And I was going by Stilil Station.
And I got, and I got a hunk of pizza.
However, the part that's more, that's more shameful is that I did get another Pichie Kee monster.
Okay.
That's very unnecessary.
The pizza, it's like, okay, that's like nourishment that I'm going to be super hungry without it.
Yeah.
That's the only time in Kansas City that I've broken my rule.
There you go.
This is the main part that I was like, because I feel like it's got to be a thing like,
oh, anyone that's trying to eat better, like, once they're not at home or like with a group,
it's got to be so much harder.
Yeah.
And so, yeah, it would be just like a couple times.
It was like, and we're staying up late, trying to stay with.
wake in church. Yeah, grab a monster, grab whatever. But I have not once as I've been back,
which has been like two almost more than a half days. Two hours or so. Two hours or so.
Yeah. I'm still planning on keeping it up. And I'm going to, I like, I like the idea of being
checked in with. So I can, I can make sure that I am still not frivolously spending my money.
So just to clarify, is it like gas stations specifically, could you have gone to, you know,
Chipotle on the way?
Or is it like just
external purchases for food?
That's the thing I'm trying to figure out
because that is like there was probably one,
I think there was one day
where I was like going to go edit in the library
and I,
the main thing is that I need to be just taught
to just make something quick at home
or like grab food from home
because like I,
it was so silly.
I went to McDonald's instead of a gas station.
Sure.
Where I would have just gone to a gas station
which like, okay,
it's the same exact thing.
I'm still spending money.
But I think Alice even had said at the beginning of,
and this is the last thing I'll say,
at the beginning of the challenge,
like this month, gas stations,
next month, maybe we add fast food to it.
Because just the ultimate,
what would be great that could actually come from this
is I learn to just take a little extra time,
like plan for a little extra time
to just like make myself breakfast or something like that
or something like that to just like save money,
be healthier.
Oh, man.
The conversations I've had with Catherine where I'm like,
I just don't have time to like make eggs in the morning.
She's like, it takes five minutes.
You take longer than that when you go through a drive-through.
Like, it's like, ah, you're right.
I don't, there's no real argument for that.
I hate that that's right.
It's so true.
But it's like, ah, but it just feels faster.
It feels like I'm already getting on the road,
therefore I'm doing better with it.
And it's tough because it just,
and just fast food and gas station food, it is, it tastes so good.
Oh, yeah.
Oh yeah, it does.
As we've talked about.
Sure.
You're right, though.
Once you get out of your routine, it is so much harder to be disciplined.
I don't care what it is.
If you're trying to work out or trying to avoid sweets or whatever, that's what it's tough.
Yeah, I'm sure you felt that a lot on, like, on tour and stuff.
It was just like every day's different.
The sleeping schedule is never the same, you know, the climates are different.
Like, so many different factors like that.
Even this year trying to avoid desserts.
That's not too bad when you and your wife are doing it together.
Yeah, you just both avoid them.
And then like the first pickleball trip we went on,
we like all loaded in the car to go get ice cream.
And I'm waiting in line with you guys to go get ice cream.
And I watch you guys all get ice cream.
You know, I still didn't do it, but I was like, yeah, man, way harder.
I wanted that.
Take a water with extra ice.
Do you have any ice chips?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, good luck, time.
Thanks.
Jake, you got anything else?
No.
No, I think it was good.
All right.
I was just going to say, I feel like you hear a lot about dad brain, mom brain, and stuff like that.
I got to talk to actually the guy who was kind of our, he's been our personal trainer,
and I've kind of stopped doing that now that Teddy's home, but still seeing him from time to time,
works out Kyle, Isaac, all of us.
He's got like a nine-month-old.
So it was kind of fun to chat with him and talk like the newborn phase because it's obviously fresh in his mind still.
and he goes, you doing anything dumb?
And I was like, or I think he said, do you feel dumb?
And I was like, I don't feel dumb.
I feel normal.
But I think if you were to look at my actions, you would deduce that I am stupider than
most people around me.
Because there's just been a number of things.
One of them, I, where was I trying to go?
I was trying to go, doesn't matter.
Oh, I was trying to.
Don't even know.
Yeah.
Dick's sporting goods wanted us to come out and do something down.
down here for Picklewell, I load up the car, and I drive to Dick's sporting goods to go meet
Isaac, and 15 minutes later, I text him, hey, sorry, I just drove to the hospital.
What?
Just drove to the wrong, just didn't drive to Dick Sporting Goods.
At Capital One, we don't just use technology. We architect it.
Our teams have true end-to-end product ownership, shipping distributed systems that handle high
concurrency at scale.
No single server bottlenecks, engineered beyond legacy downtime,
and operating right here in downtown Toronto.
That's technology at Capital One.
Search Technology at Capital One, Canada.
Did you make it all the way there?
Yeah.
Like I'm about to turn left into the hospital.
I'm like, you're not exporting goods.
Oh, my.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's...
Part of that's a little like habit building.
You know, every time I've left my house,
it feels like, you know, that's where we've gone for a month.
Wait, don't you have a car that is self-driving that you enter in, like, the destination?
Oh, yeah.
So you look, you said, take me to the hospital.
And then as you're driving there, you're like, nope, this seems right.
And maybe you don't know where Dick Sporting Goods is very well in Phoenix yet.
I know better.
That's pretty wild.
Yeah, just having to text Isaac, hey, sorry, I'm going to be, I'm going to be a little late.
I'm in a starting around to Nick you, yeah.
Like, oh, no, dude, everything good?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything's really good. I'm just tired. And I guess like, no, I feel fine, but I guess you look at some things I've done and golly. Other thing, not really dumb, just a sign of the times. We had a pediatrician appointment. It's quick. It's good. He goes, yeah, everything looks awesome. He's gaining weight. You know, Cirque looks nice. If you guys need, you could step into this lactation room, you know, real quickly. And so,
we do rachel and teddy you're doing your thing and this is like a janitor's closet it's not a real
lactation room um and i'm looking down there's no seats for there's one seat like there's a seat for
mom and that's it and then there's like legitimately like old computers on the ground and on this desk
i mean it's like a kind of a junk space wow they really went all out for the mom for the lactation room yeah
yeah yeah but i'm looking around i'm thinking seems kind of cozy in here and uh sure not
I fell asleep on the pediatrician's floor, like the nasty, nasty floor.
Yeah, I woke up and Rachel's like, all right, time to go.
You were twitching a lot.
I go, all right, not bad.
How long do you think it was?
I think I was only asleep like five or ten minutes, but I obviously I lay down to like,
I just want to rest.
I just want to sit and did not expect.
It's like broad daylight, sun coming in through the window, hard floor.
I was like, I mean, I'll just rest my eyes.
And then, you know, you wake up and you go, whoa, hey.
Yeah, let's drive to the hospital.
Do you think you went, did you go on your side?
Were you on your back?
Went side.
Uh-huh.
And just out.
Yeah.
Just next level.
Yeah, I haven't felt this way since like, you know, college finals week.
Just gone.
That's amazing.
Yeah, I know.
It was a new, new kind of milestone.
Every dad feels it.
Every mom feels it during this stage.
But yeah, just on the ground in public.
Just stealing sleep.
Yeah, stealing sleep whenever you can.
I don't know if it's, have you heard about,
I think we've maybe talked about on the podcast at one point.
the jaco naps.
You should look into that.
Oh, yes.
Navy SEAL, you know, like dangle from a light post or something.
Yeah, you got to get, you have to install a light post of your house, but after that,
it's pretty low maintenance.
No, it's like, yeah, you're supposed to.
And then you install a kind of a lamppost, and then it's.
Yeah, yeah, she's commute with the Navy SEALs for like six, six years, seven years,
something like that.
And then you, yeah, you're good.
No, I think you just elevate your feet and you only sleep for X amount of minutes,
but like it rejuvenates you or something like that.
Look into that.
I'll try it on Teddy too.
Teddy, we're going back style.
Get Teddy up there with you.
Just an inversion table for a little Teddy.
Just kind of hanging out.
So,
anyway,
that's pretty funny.
I, that's it.
Okay.
Well,
did you have one more thing?
No,
I don't have anything else say.
I was just going to add real quick to his thing.
I was talking to Scott Caldwell the other day.
It's reminded me of this.
I just think in general,
I will,
and maybe this is like,
maybe there's a threshold where this stops happening.
but right now I just still feel like
I'm the same person I was at age 18
or whatever you want to call it like
and then you look at all the facts and you're like, well,
yeah, I don't feel tired until I say, yeah,
I went to the hospital.
Like, I don't feel like an old guy.
I feel like I just graduated college
or I feel like a newlywed except for,
oh yeah, we have four kids and one of them's
about to be 10 years old in March,
which is crazy.
You know, like, or yeah, I don't feel XYZ,
but yeah, I do worry about like my 401K,
you know, or whatever.
I'm the same guys that was in high school.
I take ibuprofen every day.
Yes, exactly.
Every once in a while, I do feel old when I wake up and I'm like, why am I sore?
Like, what is, why is my calf hurt right now?
Like, my ankle is popping all the time, you know, whatever.
But Scott Caldwell, I think he was in Stillwater.
I don't remember where he was, but he was somewhere at a baseball field that had the, like,
miles per hour, like pitching a gun.
And he tried it out.
He's like, and I threw as hard.
as I could.
Maybe he was at Coffin Stadium.
I think they have one there.
He's like,
and it was 65 miles and he's like,
and I swear,
I'm in high school I could throw.
I think he said either 80 or 85.
And he's like,
and I figure like,
of course I'm not going to maybe throw
quite as hard,
but like 65 compared to 80.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
Like,
because you feel the same.
Like I remember when we lost to those,
this is like a moment in my life
when we lost those old guys in basketball.
Like,
how did we do that?
This was so much better than him.
Amazing race interview.
Yeah.
Like we're so much better than them.
I was like maybe we're not better.
Maybe we're bad at basketball.
Like I thought we were good.
I've always thought we were kind of like Scott, man, Scott really got offended by me calling
him slow on the podcast a couple of weeks ago.
And I hope that Scott's trying to take some of this to heart.
But Scott like even texted me personally.
He's like, dude, you know I'm fast.
Like I'm fast.
And I was like, give me an example of who you're faster than.
Like, yeah, he was a.
small skinny kid so he wasn't like the slowest kid out there he's like well i outran
that one time he tried to beat me up i was like chris fran was notoriously a fat kid he was a faster
fat guy chris like that's your standard is what we yeah that's your standard is chris foran dude
like out of all people you could use chris fran and he hasn't he's like but i was like michael vick
out there in backyard football and i was like yeah okay man you know so you know what's always a
nice, just slice a humble pie is when you think about your own age and you think about how you view
like, should we re-sign this running back? He's 28, 29. That's kind of, I mean, you start to see a
big decline then and you think, I'm 35. Yeah. But in my head, I'm just as quick as I was when I was
playing point guard in high school. So truly, so how could that'll be true? That's weird. Yeah, how do you
think those people that are 28 in the NFL feel when they're like, people are calling me old?
What is this?
Like, I'm not old.
I don't know how to use a fax machine.
I don't even know what a fax machine is.
Like, I don't know.
So,
I don't know,
timing,
do you feel,
have you felt old at all yet?
Like,
do you ever talk to your 12 year old brother
and he says something
and you're like,
what is that?
No,
I don't.
No,
I,
no.
Okay.
I mean,
like,
I'll feel older than people.
Like,
yeah.
Um,
no,
I don't know.
I think.
Yeah. I mean, like, yeah, I've thought about like how, uh, thinking about this. What was I just thinking about? Like, uh, I don't have anything to say. I was trying to think of something. And I know that I actually had had a thought. I was like, and I lost it. Okay. That's fair. I was thinking about something about my mom and how I was like, do I ever, do I remember like, she would have been in her 20s when I was a little kid. Do I ever remember her being saying, she?
she was 20 because I'm like, I feel like I've only ever known my mom 30 or above.
Mm-hmm.
Anyway.
Like, how old was she, do you think, when she had you?
I can't remember.
I feel.
I feel.
She seems pretty young to have 18 children.
Like, I don't, I'm going to get this.
I'm guessing.
Maybe she was like, 24, 25 or something like that when she had me or something like that, possibly.
Yeah.
Could be you, man.
Yeah.
That's, every once in a while, I'll be like, because I was the youngest.
And so I always thought my parents were so old.
But I'm like, I think my parents had me when they were like,
like 31 or something like that.
Like they're not, I don't know how old, whatever.
I'm like, oh snap.
Like, I remember my parents at this age that I am right now.
You know what I mean?
I just feel like that's more what I was thinking about.
Yeah, I was like, I'm 20.
My mom had me probably like, oh, four or five years later than this.
That's crazy.
I felt old whenever we first started working with K-Life.
And like, I talked to these kids that you could tell definitely, like, I tried to be
their age, kind of.
I tried to like talk like them.
and you could tell they were like,
why is he trying to be like us?
And I was like, oh, got it.
What's up, Holmes?
Hello, fellow youths.
Use.
Yeah.
I was like, okay, I just got to be myself.
It's going to be my age.
And they'll think I'm fine.
So be yourself.
Be yourself.
Think about that for a second.
Whoa.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's good.
Last thing I'll say.
I took Teddy on our first little,
Just a venture out in the real world last night.
Like, just us too.
Needed to run some errands.
Needed to overnight a paddle to Scott.
So we went a few different places and get some stuff talked out.
It's crazy how much more aware I am of stuff I never thought about or cared about before until you have like a sleeping baby in a stroller.
I'm talking sidewalk topography.
You go, this one, this one's ridiculous.
This one's so bumpy.
I mean, who made this?
Right.
These cracks are so deep.
You know, just everything.
And you're trying to like,
like, how can anyone live like this?
Right.
I've never once thought about the roughness and the rigidity.
Somebody with just an absolutely insane driveway.
Like, of like, what?
Care for your driveway a little bit.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
There's stubble on it.
Some of these, like, I appreciate the handicapped,
Handicapped, Handicap, ramp.
Disabled.
What I don't appreciate is us looking out for these blind people
with all the bumps and the circles and sorry, you didn't you.
I bet you would hear if a car is coming.
But Teddy's bouncing up and down trying to get to UPS.
Yeah, you just look down.
I'm just so just like hyper-fixated on the ground surface
and trying to find the path of least resistance.
That's great.
Oh, yeah, you got to go street, man,
if you're not too busy of a neighborhood.
He's just go street and look out for houses.
Got to go street.
But then sometimes the streets are pretty sloped.
You know what I'm talking about it?
Like the sides of them are kind of slope.
Yeah, he's going chin to chest, no thanks.
Yeah, I'm just like, all right, this is relaxing here.
Yeah, the other day, six months ago, whatever,
I was on a walk with Rosie.
and she wasn't buckled into her stroller.
And we hit a bump.
She fell out.
Luckily, she lay on our feet,
but she fell straight out of that thing.
It was like you hit a curve or something almost.
And she just like flew up.
Wow, that's funny.
So watch out for it, man.
I noticed that.
I noticed the like loudness of,
so I went to UPS and then an Aseibo place.
Both of them are like blaring music.
And I go, I swear they didn't used to be this way.
But maybe it did.
And I just didn't care or didn't notice.
UPS was especially alarming.
What were they playing?
It was like, get down with the sickness or something.
I was like, it's nightfall.
This is an insane genre of music to play at nightfall.
Also, your UPS.
He's insensitive.
Like, down with the sickness.
Yeah.
You never know.
That's a FedEx move.
FedEx.
FedEx feels a little more John Mayer.
UPS feels a little more, you know, system of a down.
Yeah, this UPS did have some vibes too.
I mean, I'm talking to a guy.
He's helping me.
He's wearing a mask.
Not going to say anything about it other than I had to ask him what, like four times.
I couldn't hear him.
And then next to me is another UPS worker hugging a girl who I thought she was a customer.
Apparently she's here to see her boyfriend because then they go around me.
And then I'm kind of keep looking.
I'm like, I think they're hugging.
I think you're really hugging.
And then I hear him say, kiss, kiss.
And then I was like, all right.
Okay.
not just a customer
and also embarrassing
you to ask for a kiss in public
I was about to say that's the worst
don't ever
don't ever say kiss
a little kiss
kiss can be kiss
it's been a long shift
kiss
did that happen on the amazing race
one of the two episodes
I feel like I remember
it did episode one
okay I were not crazy
yeah I was like
definitely somebody
was it the younger
yeah it's kind of the
pretty young couple
that's like
that's kind of southern
yeah
it's a passive aggression
Alabama girl
yeah yeah
Interesting.
Yeah, I gotta keep watching.
Ever been the type that, like, needed a quick kiss
to fuel me to do something?
Like, professional athletes will do that.
Mahomes and his wife, they do it.
They'll give a quick kiss before the game starts.
And I'm thinking, I've never needed that.
I'll kiss my teammates.
Yeah, you know it from your wife.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, just save all that for, like, the end-of-game teammate kiss.
I just noticed, touchdown celebration.
Catherine, can't do it quick.
Like, if I, if I kiss her, she's jumping on me, bro.
Oh, my gosh.
She can't even handle it.
Oh, calm down.
Yeah, I agree.
30 seconds or less.
Main Street Roasters, coffee, beans, put it in K cups, put it in whole ground.
Jake's drinking it.
It wakes you up.
It keeps you up.
It helps when you don't sleep very well.
It's good for you.
It tastes good.
why wouldn't you use GRKC for 10% off?
Question, did I or did I not fall asleep this episode?
You did not.
If you out there want to not fall asleep in your episodes of life,
I suggest Mainz Roaster's Coffee.
Yeah, you don't want somebody to say, hey, he's having an episode.
He's having an episode.
You don't wind up on the pit.
He's awake for this episode. He's fine.
Yeah.
He's powering through his episode because he's got 10% off his coffee.
That's right.
Mainstrester.com, GRKC.
Come to nap.
There was a woman,
Catherine's mom's best friend
from college.
Every time she greets you,
she gives you a kiss on the cheek.
I never had you one of my life like that.
I think she's the only person in America that does it.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But like the other day,
I forgot that she did this
because I don't see her very often.
But you could tell she almost forgot to do it
and then was like,
very intentionally like oh that's my thing it was kind of like a you know like the older you get
the more like forced it feels like some of those like movements on it was kind of like a like oh
I'm really coming in here with it I'm getting down with a sickness do you know I'm talking about though
like a like a like a like a yeah not as smooth it's just a more effort yeah bit of a struggle
back when you would yeah kiss your grandma or whatever you know I don't know just like a little like
Like a little stutter to it a little bit.
Anyway, I just joke.
And Captain's like, yeah, you're right.
She does that.
I kind of just amused to it by now.
Anyway, I noticed the music.
And then second thing I notice,
the treatment I got at both places was amazing.
I went two for two with like women, like approaching me,
holding the door open for me and like asking me questions about the baby.
You've never, ever been treated this way before.
Oh yeah, you're an absolute all-star if you bring your kids out in public.
Wow.
It is.
Yeah.
Like, if I were ever, like, to run for office, I would just tote my kids around everywhere
with me.
Yeah.
There's no way people are going to, like, say anything bad about you when you have kids
with you.
Yeah.
It's the first time doing it.
And couldn't believe that I went two for two.
That's fun.
What were they, they like to ask how old or what were they saying about them?
Yeah.
I mean, one woman, like, got up out of her seat to, like, go get the,
door for me and said how old's your baby.
Did you get the precious cargo line?
No, this is good though.
What are some things I should be on the lookout for?
I think precious cargo is good.
They kind of say, oh, you got precious cargo there.
You got your hands full.
It's always a classic for, you know, multiple.
Look at those cheats.
I might only know the ones for lots of kids.
Everyone.
Are those all yours?
Sure.
Yeah, that's good.
Why exactly would they not be out?
I mean, you know, people can babysit.
Those are all yours.
I'm trying to think of what they would say for you, Jake.
How old's a classic?
How old?
Yeah, I got to be ready.
If I go out in public, I need to know.
Yeah.
How offended will you be if you get your child misgendered?
That's probably on me.
I'll take the blame.
That's good.
Good for you.
Not being the victim, being the...
Yeah.
That's the, that's the...
comedian's mantra.
You don't blame the audience.
You blame yourself for wearing a bow and them calling you a girl.
Yeah, exactly.
It is wild, though.
Like, why'd you assume he was a girl?
Like, he doesn't have a bow on his hair or any head or anything like that.
You know what we got a couple times in the NICU, either from nurses or like just other people we'd meet?
Was, uh, what's the baby's name?
You say Teddy and they say boy or girl.
Dude, these days, though, I guess they got to have, they kind of have to say.
These days.
these days T-E-D-I could be Teddy T-E-D-E-I
Honestly T-E-D-I sounds like
like one of the shots or something
Yeah, he does more as T-E-D-I
That's true
We get that at four months and then he should be good
It's kind of like the chicken pox one
Mm-hmm
Teddy yeah I mean these days dude
Like there's not that many names that are just exclusive
Or just like obviously exclusive
If you said Theodore, I don't think they're saying boy or girl.
I would hope not.
These days, though?
Theodore.
Theodore is going to last.
Sheedore.
Sheedore, I would probably assume girl.
I would.
Theodore, though.
Alvin, any of the chipmunks, really.
Any of the chipmunks, definitely male.
What's the other chipmunk?
Timon, you know him.
Which ones were even said?
There's Alvin, Theodore, and.
Simon.
Simon.
Yeah.
Oh.
Yeah.
Chipmokes have stood the test of time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I wonder how many times I've said the name Simon in my life.
Because my, just like, by far most common go-to is like Simon with a T.
Like how many times you've had to say the name that's not yours?
Yeah.
Like, I, I definitely, it's definitely the second most said name probably in my, I mean, well, maybe it's, well, no.
Because if I'm introducing myself to someone that I've already said my name, I was going to say, is it the most said name?
that doesn't make any sense.
I don't know.
Maybe it's my second most said name ever besides my second most said name.
Or do I say other people's names probably more than I.
Oh, I definitely have said other,
like my family's name's more than mine.
Or Simon.
Right?
Or Simon.
Interesting.
Okay, so yeah, boy or girl.
Maybe that's just like initial reaction before they even hear the name.
Like they're going to,
the next question is boy or girl.
Maybe they're like,
do not misgender these children.
Yeah.
These parents are already like hormonal and sleep deprived
and they're not going to be happy about this.
I bet if you do work.
labor and delivery,
Nicky, anything like that,
you've heard a thousand names
and you've probably been shocked
so many times
what is a boy and what is a girl.
So now you just probably just ask.
True.
I'm gonna look up
most popular boy names
and you tell me
out of the top.
Yeah, this is all I have.
Most popular
boy names.
In the meantime,
I have one more thing.
It's like if we're in with this,
I want to quick get this in before.
Do you think of a boy or girl first
with his name,
Avery.
Girl.
I kind of thought girl,
which is crazy.
Is that crazy?
Okay, that's actually good.
I like that because I have a good friend named Avery who's a guy,
and he, like, I think for a long time, kind of hated his name because he thought
was such a girl name.
And I'm trying to, like, feel the, like, I want to comfort him.
And I'll be like, I don't think everyone thinks that's a girl name.
Because I, I think I, the first Avery that crossed my, that ever, like I was introduced to
was the sibling in Charlotte's Webb, who's a boy, his name is Avery.
I think Avery has been switched. It's been, you know, it's gone, it's gone from red to blue.
Yeah, I think it used to be a boy's name. I think it's becoming more popular for girls.
Okay. And I feel like, honestly, I bet Jake and I thought that because of Cana Cicac. I bet there was a lot of Avery's that were girls at Cana Cicac. It's my guess.
Okay. This is so fun.
TheBump.com.
The top 570 baby boy names of 2026.
570, huh?
That is, that's just like,
let's just put every single boy name
we can think of on the list real quick.
Yeah.
That is the most random number I've ever heard of.
Suggested for inflation.
All right.
Boy names.
Is this global?
I'll go Muhammad if it's global.
Social Security administrations.
No, this isn't.
Theodore number four, Jake.
You're up there, baby.
were basic. You're so basic.
What other names? Did you have any other names
that you were thinking of? I didn't realize that.
So it says.
It's getting popular. Well, this is the bump.com.
Yeah.
Bump it.
Were you thinking Liam, Noah, or
Oliver for your other three names?
We were not. Liam's up there, though?
Henry number five.
Wow.
Man, I am happy with all those top five.
Like, I like all those names, I think.
Was it Liam, Noah?
Oliver.
Theodore. Henry.
All great names.
James.
I was just about to ask
when we got our first New Testament name.
It's good.
We got Noah and James in there.
Yeah.
Elijah.
Nice.
Mateo.
Mateo number eight over Matthew.
Okay.
Mateo is very specific.
Mateo.
I mean, that's just a commentary on our country right now.
What happened?
William.
Not Guillermo.
Okay.
William.
Lucas.
Lucas.
So those are all pretty solid.
Like those are boy names.
Oliver?
No.
Even,
I've heard Noah.
I've heard Noah as a girl name.
I have to.
Noah Cyrus.
Noah Cyrus.
Yeah.
Those are all pretty strong.
Yeah,
Noah Cyrus.
And not too crazy.
Like,
you know,
there's not any Xs in there's no Braxton's and Braylins in the top 10.
Yeah.
No.
I wouldn't say any of these are crazy.
Asher is not a crazy name,
but it's a little more untraditional.
I like Asher,
though.
That's number 28 on the list.
I have no qualms with.
any so far, I don't think.
Really, all these are pretty normal
Anglo-Saxon names.
I think my least favorite out of all of them,
and for no apparent reason, no offense,
any Liam's, is Liam.
I don't know if I love Liam.
Dang.
Liam's fine.
Maverick number 49.
That's a little bit off-putting.
Pop-gun.
That's a wrong word.
That's a little disturbing.
That's a little dumb.
I wonder where Jake is.
Maybe I missed it already.
I feel like Jake was such a popular name for a while.
it? Didn't you get the...
Thank you. At some point, yeah, I think Jacob was number one.
But I think I don't bump into a lot of...
Like, where are all the Jacobs?
If at one point it was number one.
Oh, you don't feel like you know that many Jakes?
No.
I think you're the only Jake that I know, at least well.
There's like, I know of... I can think of a Jake.
From State Farm? One other Jake that I like,
know who he is.
Honestly, these are all pretty, pretty boy-sounding names.
I was hoping to find like more of an answer of like, yeah, see,
like Rowan. Rowan sounds like it could be a girl's name. Yeah.
Logan. Logan's getting to be in the girls realm. Is it really? Wesley?
Is it like Jordan and Jaden in there? Those are too very like, like becoming girl names.
Yeah. Carter. Could Carter be a girl's name? Yeah. If you wanted it to. I know it's a big.
Lady Garrett back in the Canacacacac Day's. Oh yeah.
George girl. That's the thing. Southern people, they'll just be like, let's just throw boys names in there.
Like let's just like, like, um, like middle names.
name is James. Like, that's a boy's name. Like, you know, I don't know.
They'll have a Jane. Anna James. It's like, really? There's a lot of girls' names out there.
Yeah, I don't know. I thought I was going to prove more of a point with this, but the lower I go, maybe you could, you could argue.
Micah. The world is healing. Christian. Ethan, E-I-T-H-A-N is number 97 on the list.
E-I?
Yeah.
No way.
Ethan.
I think that...
What was their website call again?
The bump.
I don't think they can spell.
I think they're...
They do volleyball and pregnancy stuff.
Huh.
Ryan, number 99 on the list.
Ryan's going downhill, dude.
Ryan is not having a good...
Ryan used to be a top 10 for sure.
That's crazy.
How far the mighty have fallen?
Anyway.
Top 570. I'm only seeing
100 here, so.
570. Just clickbait because 570 is one of the most
attractive numbers. It's one of the most clickable numbers.
I know.
What is this?
Kai number one, K-A-I.
Oh, this is like just their favorites.
Never mind. Theodore, their 14th favorite.
Congrats, dude.
Not bad.
Kai. The bump really wants some more Kai's out there.
Interesting.
It's so funny to just like rank your favorite.
Just like some journalist at the bump.
Yeah.
And in case you're curious, here's my personal.
Yeah.
What does that do for anyone?
Maybe it just, you know, gets them out of their shell a little bit.
Like, okay, we don't have to, you know.
Anyway.
Was it hard naming Teddy?
Or did you, had you always thought like you liked Teddy?
Oh, yeah.
We had a few boy, a few girls locked and loaded.
But no, it was, wasn't too bad.
Yeah.
Who was like the driving force of Teddy?
Uh,
Rachel was.
Yeah.
And you said, Teddy triplet?
Yeah.
For boy or girl?
Did you tell you boy?
And I said, okay.
Okay.
Yeah, I could get behind it.
I was in girl, yeah.
Yeah, I've always, I've always been more of like the,
tell me what your idea and I'll tell you if I like it.
That's always been my state.
I have never been like, I, well, that's not true.
I really like the name's Peter and Isaac, which is funny.
Yeah.
I love both those names and obviously love those guys.
So yeah.
And Jacob.
Like I was just like, man, all my friends, I like those names a lot.
Maybe it's because there's good memories associated with them.
Gunner, I don't think I'll name him Gunner, but, you know.
First dog you get, though.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
First raccoon, maybe.
First pet raccoon.
Dude, I was talking to, sorry.
Did you have one last thing?
No, I got nothing.
What about you?
well me neither I was just gonna say same people
this week this past weekend
in Georgia they're from
I travel with the group like from Kansas but they're more from
country like more central Kansas a little bit more
and just randomly in conversation they're like
talking about yeah well I know I think like they're talking about
people back home I think Sarah like they had a pet raccoon for a long time
and they're like this family their pet raccoon like I feel like
they didn't like
I mean it did I don't know if it lasted too long
and then our pet raccoon,
like you threw it out the window
and I got so mad at you guys
I was like,
this is crazy.
Now, this is country Kansas.
Like, really?
It was fully normal
to have a pet raccoon.
I'm curious.
Fort Scott area?
No, but that would sure fit in, I think.
Where in Kansas?
Two tiny towns burn and Sabitha.
Kind of close to Nebraska.
I was going to say those aren't where I wanted them to be
because I have stereotypes of like
Kansas,
but like certain spots.
are more country than others.
Interesting.
Okay.
Yeah,
that was just a funny thing.
And you're like,
wait,
you guys all had pet raccoons.
It was like a normal thing.
It felt like everyone at least,
oh,
of course,
knew of these people that had pet raccoons.
I'm trying to think of how much
you'd have to pay me
to have a pet raccoon.
Hmm.
It would cost a lot of money.
I would not ever be comfortable
around that thing.
Would you?
I think if I raised it from,
from childhood,
yeah.
Kept it clean.
Kept it.
If you don't teach it aggression, is it going to be aggressive?
Remember back to the day on the podcast?
I told you guys that I had done a little deep dive and the difference between taming and
domesticating.
Basically, you can like, you could tame something.
You could, like, tame this raccoon that you raised from birth.
But domestication happens over the course of, like, centuries.
Like, what we've done with, like, dogs and cats.
Like, it's, like, in their blood.
Like, I've heard that.
Like, yeah.
Even when you talk about, like, hunting dogs, it's like, they're just made to
do this. Like, yeah, they're made to go retrieve, you know, whatever. So you're saying,
basically, be careful. Like, even if you, you get a little baby, anything that you raise
from birth, they might even think it's your mom. Still got some genes. Like, it's still got some
instincts that is like, yeah, you got a little, you got a little ground turkey on your face. It's
a goodbye. Yeah, I, my, my, uh, fear of animals just came out again this weekend. The Airbnb we were
staying at was like pretty remote like up on this hill in Texas. I mean it was like in a
development I guess neighborhood kind of thing like there were a bunch of houses up there but like
anyway but it was like it had free range cows just like walking around like one like cross
the street we had like wait for it to cross the street at one point and I I told Catherine
was like would you be like if you lived on the street would you be like nervous to like go on a walk
and she's like no cows aren't like aggressive animals really.
to you. They're not just going to like unprovoked, like just charge you or anything, I don't think.
She's like, no, a steer or something like that, like is different. Bull bad. Bulls bad.
Bulls bad. But like, no, I don't think I'm like, you're telling me you just like go on a stroller walk like with just cows just chilling out there.
Like, yeah, I think I would. Might not need the stroller. Throw the baby on the cow.
Yeah. All right. I do love those, uh,
The invention of, or whatever, the cattle, you call them cattle guards, cattle grates?
Oh, yeah.
The cattle gate?
The things in the ground.
Things in the ground where they just can't walk on them.
And so rather than having a fence, you know what I'm talking about, Jake?
Oh, yeah.
I've seen people do it with horses.
Yeah, they're like, there's no fence there, but they won't cross something that they, like, can't see.
Yeah, it's very interesting.
Like, this, like, metal.
And, like, yeah, so they're just able to just, like, roam through the neighborhood or something.
I don't know.
Like, I don't, I don't know about this.
I don't think I could sleep very well here.
every night of my life.
All right, we're just going to keep going real quick with them.
Go to Rangers.com.
It's American meat delivered.
Food straight to your door.
Meat straight to your door.
No added antibiotics, no added to hormones.
Just good stuff supporting American farmers.
Go.
Here's a little something that we don't,
we don't market it this way.
Typically, if you're looking for a way to get dry ice
and don't know where to get it,
get it from Good Rangers and they'll toss little meat in as well.
That's a hack.
You want dry eyes delivered to your house rather than having to go get it.
They will bring it right to you.
Yeah, if you're like, dude,
my life is perfect. The only two things I need are a cardboard box and dry ice.
Hope you got some room in the freezer because we'll throw in some seafood as well.
That's a good point. Yeah, you can get some amazing bacon on the side.
They got beef sticks these days. I want to try them. Wow.
They have like chop style beef sticks. Yesterday was like Prime Big Deal Day or whatever.
And Isaac texts as it goes, hey guys, pretty good deal on Prime right now. I just spent $700 on drinks and beef sticks.
What?
That was his exact guy.
Guys had a beef stick phase right now.
Isaac goes hard on beef sticks.
And I think Good Rangers got to have the best ones ever
because they have the best meat.
So Goodrangers.com, use our promo code GRKC.
You know what you get from it.
Time, what do you get?
You get free expense shipping.
All that more.
And free protein items.
That's right.
And support the American farmers.
Guys.
At Capital One, we don't just use technology.
architected. Our teams have true end-to-end product ownership, shipping distributed systems that
handle high concurrency at scale. No single server bottlenecks, engineered beyond legacy downtime,
and operating right here in downtown Toronto. That's technology at Capital One. Search Technology
at Capital One, Canada. Heat up the ice cube. Like two days ago, I went outside to get the mail,
and it reeked of manure.
Like, I know that smell.
Like, that is, like, cow manure, horse manure, something.
Why does it smell like that?
Like, I legitimately wondered, like, have cows gotten loose?
Are they pooping all over the area?
That's why I'm smelling him.
And then, like, 24 hours later, I get a text from the guy who does, like, the
landscaping and pool service.
He's like, hey, forgot to text to you, but I came by yesterday
and did the winter landscaping treatment or something like that.
I was like that.
So I guess you just dropped off a ton of crap.
That's how you do it.
It reminds me a home.
I don't mind it, but it is, it's quite pungent.
Did you, I feel like,
stings the nostrils.
I feel like the agriculture people in the world
are like required every time they say
manure to say, what, Jake?
It's not that bad.
Oh, okay.
Oh, I don't know.
I'd be like at K-State, people would always say
smells like money.
Oh, I don't know that.
No, you hadn't heard that?
Oh yeah, I feel like that's, yeah, smells like money.
Because if cows are pooping, business is booming.
That's what they say.
That's the next one they say.
Well, if cows are pooping, big.
Always one, two bunch.
Smells like money.
That was the sentiment, though, like if manure means you have, like, healthy cows?
No, not specifically.
I think it just smells like cows and cows equal money kind of thing.
I think if you have manure, you have cows.
Cows is money.
Cows is money.
man, I would be fun to have cows.
I'd take a few cows in my yard.
Yeah, they just, once they get out,
nightmare.
Tell me, do you have some stories?
Oh, just that was always the thing.
I mean, like, the only time my grandpa ever missed a game of mine
was probably like he had to run because like two cows got out.
Oh, really?
Put yourself in that situation like, all right,
someone called and said, your cow is here,
your cow is running down the state highway.
Yeah.
What is even like your plan?
Like, what do you do to then,
you don't have anything big.
You're not going to put a cow in something and take it home.
It's not a loose dog.
You know, it just...
I guess you don't get a trailer or something, right?
Like, got to go hitch the trailer to your truck.
Yeah.
And then like, you sedate the cow or you, like, walk the cow in it.
You walk, I think you'd walk the cow in.
I feel like that's got...
I mean, a good honest farmer is going to know how to do that, right?
Like, walk a cow into a trailer.
But then again, it's like...
most cows aren't gonna
I feel like you don't have halters for cows
most of the time
you don't have something to
halter is like a
it's the thing you like
kind of straps to their face
to like lead them
oh sure sure
like horse holter
yeah yeah we've had horses get out before
neighbors
probably I don't know if we'd ever like
not notice not like a neighbor tell us
but maybe
how much you think the average cow sells for
two grand
just looked up how much value is a cow
Didn't say.
Oh,
but it does have a pretty...
Oh, like, here we go.
I have no idea either way.
Yeah, okay.
Heifers are anywhere from $2,400 to $5,000 plus.
I was going to $2,700.
Okay, okay.
Cow calf pairs, eat a little combo.
4,600 to $6,100 for the pair.
Feeder calves, $1,400 to $2,700 per head.
So, yeah, if it's like, hey, you got $5,000 going down the highway.
It's like, sorry, Jake, I know this is a big inning for you,
I gotta go get that cow.
I know you've been waiting to pitch, buddy, but just tell me how it goes.
Yeah.
Timon, we just kind of were texting about this yesterday, Friday group chat, and I was going to fill you in.
But I think there might be a dairy cow shoot in our future, if you'd like to get involved.
Fun.
Is it for a paddle, I'm assuming?
Yeah, it just clicked with this yesterday.
You know, we've been trying to, like, come out with this new kind of technology where the grit doesn't degrade over time.
And it's a big breakthrough.
We tested it.
the spin degrades only 2% over time, which is like industry leading.
Like it hasn't come out yet, but it will be like the best in class.
Cool.
And then it clicked like 2%.
Like milk.
That should be how we market everything.
Yep.
And so we're just going to go hard on milk, basically.
The Friday lactose.
Yeah.
It's going to be called.
Yeah.
So yeah.
I mean, I want to do like, I think something hilariously cinematic, but like while we're,
you know, squeezing teeth or, you know, dresses milkmen, like I think all sorts of stuff.
I want to go visit a dairy farm.
chugging milk.
Cool.
But yeah, I'll have to ask my dad if we had a trailer.
I don't remember ever loading a cow into a trailer.
I think our strategy was you go find the cow and you take a bucket of feed with you.
Okay.
They are very used to the smell and sound of like when it's time to eat, feed sounds like this.
And so you just go and you just rattle the bucket and you just lead them home.
That's maybe that was like a close distance rescue.
Maybe there was a long distance rescue you called in your buddy with the trailer.
Yeah
You guys never had cows?
No
Never did
Yeah horses are nice
Because if you
If you're like
The horse's owner
And it knows you
Like just
Hop on it and ride it back
Up on it baby
Yeah
Up on it
You ever get scared of your horses
though
I'd be scared
Oh yeah
Oh horses scare me for sure
I mean
Probably not as bad as you
Because I've had
interactions with them
But like
Even riding them
It's like
It makes me nervous
I want to do it more
though. So that doesn't isn't the case. I don't know if we have a, I think we have a non-crippled horse.
Alter. Paster. Paster. Right now. If you're riding it, you use a bridle.
Forrest kicking me with its back legs. Yep. Yep. Yeah. You got terrified. And it's a healthy fear.
You're supposed to, you're supposed to keep your like hand on its butt as you walk around, like make it very clear that you are behind it.
Like, so it doesn't get spooked and kick you. See, I thought I could spook him. The random hand on butt?
Well, you know, you start at the shoulder probably and work your way around. Okay. Okay. You don't
make sure it knows.
Smack it on there.
I'm here.
Hey!
You want to, yeah.
If you are,
I don't know why it reacted so strongly.
I heard to put your hand on its butt.
I just put it too.
I snuck up on it.
So snuck up on it so didn't disturb it and then just let it let him know I was behind it.
Here I am.
Here I am.
Back here.
Back here.
What,
do they like, can they like, what, what happened?
Like, how bad is their kick?
Bad.
Like, it can be bad.
It's like very strong.
Like you can break your bones.
Yeah, I would think so.
Oh, I easily break a rib or something.
You'd be in the pit, trust me.
You'd feel it a little bit.
Would you, how far back you think you'd go?
Ten feet?
That's so far.
Oh, as far as like immediate striking range?
I don't know.
Like, would you get sparked off your feet?
Because like it could, oh, how far could you?
Oh, I see what you're saying.
How far you could send you?
Like seen videos.
I feel like the person disappears from the frame.
I don't know how far back we're on.
They get rocked, yeah.
Oh, snap.
could send you back pretty far. I don't know though. I haven't seen that in real life,
which is probably a good thing. Sure. I think at one point, I don't remember where he got kicked,
but Jesse when it was really young, just like the horses, like, I think maybe suddenly freaked out
about something, just like ran past out and he was in the pasture. And like, I think one of them,
like, at least nicked him. Jesse's the same kid, the kid that got nailed by you on the swing?
Yes. Dang, poor Jesse. Three years old. Jesse's been struggling.
I've been getting it everywhere. I told the story. So he was just,
innocently in the pasture and this horse just ran him over basically. I think so. I think it was
kind of like the horses were just like running really close to him past him and maybe even just like
I doubt it was a kick but probably was like a leg kicking up. Yeah. You have to read dogs do that.
Like dogs get the zoomies and they're just like running all over and you kind of just like he should
dodge me right? I remember one just like table top my sister. I was like oh, whoops. You're asking for.
That's what I've heard about these hunting dogs on pheasant hunts. It's like one of the most
common injuries in South Dakota or something is like torn ACLs from dogs like
chasing after birds and like bad boy just like knocking somebody from behind
these old you know out of shape white guys just yeah absolutely topple over so man have I told
this is the last thing I'll say have I told thank you the story of probably wrap up
Jesse getting lifted up by the horse no lift it up I mean it's not it's not really a story just
like a thing that happened that I think is so funny uh he was just very
young and
we had this like
little I think there's like a thing people have like
a little car that like a toddler can sit in
and they can like buckle in
and you push it with like a handle that comes out behind it
classic yeah yeah we have one of those
terrible for storage anywhere where are you gonna
yeah it does not yeah not a great use of space
but he was just like sitting in that
I guess he'd been being pushed around the yard maybe
and it was like right next to the fence
uh buckled in and with a
hoodie on. It's like, I think he just kind of got left unattended. And this is one of those stories
that I really hope I'm not just like remembering it wrong and it's not even true. Like, I think
this happened though. But the, like, one of the horses was just like grazing in the grass. Like,
they always reached their neck over the fence to get the grass on the other side because they've
eaten all the good stuff on their side. And then just like grabbed his like bit his like hoodie
and lifted like lifted him in the car up a little bit, which is just such a funny thing that a horse
be also kind of scary.
Little Jesse is just like, what is happening?
Am I being resurrected?
Yeah, just because it's like, I think his hoodie was on.
So just like, grab the top of his hood and just like got lifted up.
Really?
Mom, text me if that's a complete lie.
But I'm pretty sure that happens.
That's no, Maria.
That's pretty fun.
Yeah, really, though.
Jesse's got a, at a busy life.
Yeah.
I do love those inside, not inside jokes, but like those like stories of, like family stories like that.
that you just keep coming back to.
Like, yeah, I remember when
Jesse got lifted up by the horse.
It's pretty good.
Yeah, but that was all I had.
That's all you got.
Oh, you got?
I don't know if I have,
I don't know if I have anything else.
Yeah, I think I'm good.
Truly.
Yeah, I'm all set too.
I was just going to say,
and I generally had this written down,
we get so many comments.
I don't want to take it for granted.
And I don't think we do.
I'm just saying,
thank you for all the comments.
There's like 50 on Spotify or episode.
There's another 40 on YouTube.
You know,
they're just everywhere.
Just like,
and we have the Facebook group.
It's just so fun to have a podcast
that gets consistent feedback.
You never have to wonder
if people care,
if people are listening,
and just really think it's fun.
It really is because it's like
every once in a while,
we get like 13 comments,
you know, the first day
and it's like,
oh my gosh.
Yeah.
There's no one,
you know.
What happened?
Because it's so common for us
to get such great feedback
and wonderful,
Yeah, everything.
So I agree with that, all those things.
It's pretty amazing.
Challenge this week, if you have been listening for a while and never left a comment,
thank you for listening.
That's a good challenge.
Just know that we appreciate you.
Yeah.
That's a good thing.
And this is the last thing I'll say, if you've never left a review before this week,
just want to say thank you for listening.
That's your challenge.
Oh, it's not a challenge.
It's just.
No, just I want to address specific people and let them know, thank you for listening.
And I would say if you've, if you've been listening, and we do appreciate you.
Thank you for listening.
If you've never bought a piece of merch before, just know, just know, guys.
Ghostrorens.com.
We just, there's no words for how much we just, we couldn't do it without you.
Couldn't do it without you.
What did you say to the in there?
Couldn't do it.
What you were you talking about?
Couldn't do without you.
Couldn't do it without, y'all, twin.
Hey, no.
Hey, Cah.
Couldn't do it out you,
you know.
Dude,
something that we said a lot
this weekend
at the wedding.
Me and my buddies
was the baseball.
Sao!
Talking about bow,
we just kept saying
that about everything.
Yeah,
that's so funny.
And then we also,
so randomly,
we were talking about
AI stuff.
This is the last thing I'll say.
Let me wrap it up.
But we're talking about AI stuff.
And somehow we diverted into a game where we tried to, this is how fun my friends are,
we tried to list off different airport codes or different airports and see if they know the code
for them.
I like that.
I know people that travel enough, I think it's kind of fun because there's some that are like,
obviously AUS is Austin, but like, do you know what, you know, Baltimore is?
Do you know what, you know, New Orleans is?
You know, it's all these weird ones.
I'm going to try to, I'm going to quiz you on just a couple of the,
wacky ones that I can remember off the top of my head.
Okay.
At least I think, do you know what X and A is?
I have no, I don't even, I'm trying to think of a guess.
Well, I don't either.
Did you look at it?
No, I just, I figured it we would both know it.
For some reason, I'm thinking it's Fayetteville.
Oh, see, I've never.
That's weird.
Yeah, I'm like, have I even been to the Fayetteville airport?
Why is that coming to mind?
Well, here's what's funny is that one of my buddies, who is smarter than most of us.
He's a lawyer.
And he kept saying, oh, Ken, Ks-Sty's one of my.
favorites. It's K-M-C-I. And I'm like, I think we just say MCI. And then he was like, oh, yeah. And,
you know, Orlando's fun. It's K-O-R-D. And I'm like, why are you saying K? And then that was
he's like, no, I think that's how people, that's how pilots would say it. I'm like,
and so then I was like, that sounds like a radio station. So then it was like, Sa, pal, K-O-R-D.
This is clock in Orlando.
K-X, K-N-A, what did you say? It was X-N-A. I looked at it up.
I was it. I was close. It was Bentonville, not Fayetteville.
Okay, close enough. I've flown. No, I've, I've flown out of there. I should have known that.
All right. I got one more. Also, in my head, I think I know the answer, but I don't know for sure. B and A.
That's what I know. Okay. Timon? I don't know, Boston.
Boxtown. Take the B out of it. What do you think, what do you think the other two letters?
Non-alcoholic. Mm-hmm.
And?
Yeah, Utah. They don't drink much.
I believe.
It's Nashville, right?
I was thinking it was Nashville.
MSY.
Oh, I've seen it.
Where are you?
Where are you?
The ones that come to mind are just what it probably isn't because these are not obviously.
I'm thinking Mississippi.
Somewhere in Mississippi.
I don't know.
Down there.
I believe.
Louisiana.
It is New Orleans.
Okay.
I have no idea why.
MCI for Kansas City is mid-continental international is why it's called that.
Interesting.
I feel like, but I can just, if I want to look up prices and tickets,
I just look up KCI and it works just fine.
True.
People are here, call it KCI.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I try to remember the other ones.
O'Hare is kind of a weird one, I think.
Oh, what is that last?
Or wait.
It's not OHA.
OR.
ORD.
Yeah, ORD.
That actually, that might be the Southwest one.
What's the other Chicago one?
No, O'Hare is Southwest.
I think O'Hare is the Chicago one.
What's Orlando then?
I thought Orlando was O'RD.
What's the second Chicago airport?
O'RD is O'Hare.
Don't look up the other
Chicago airport.
We will figure it out and then we'll end with that.
I won't, I won't, I won't.
There's O'Hare and there's...
Because some of those cities, like Dallas has DFW and they have Luguardia.
LaGuardia.
LaGuardia.
JFK.
No, JFK.
Hobby.
Yeah, Houston has it.
I think, does D.C. also have like a normal one.
Yeah, they have Reagan and they have the other one that I don't know of because I fly southwest.
Yeah.
That well.
No, we got to figure it.
out. Noah Wells about it.
It's not, Chicago.
If you don't know in the first three seconds,
I'm not going to find it. Yeah, really?
The floor last week. I'm not going to find this.
Yeah, you're not. You don't have the capacity
to go back.
I'm surprised you've done this so far.
O'Hare
and just Chicago. It's just called
Chicago Airport. Yeah.
Don't tell me. Just give me a hint.
Oh, yeah, yeah. We've definitely heard of this.
Are you sure? That's, yeah, good.
That's the one that's, you're right. That's the Southwest one.
I'm sorry. Thank you.
Hey, I'm sorry.
I apologize.
Dude, dude, dude, I'm sorry.
Dude, I think we're all sorry for how we acted there.
Yeah.
What's the code, though?
Oh.
Midway is MDW.
Last thing I'll say is the code.
It's MDW.
O'Hare is O'RD?
Got to be.
Unless you think of Orlando.
Oh, no, Orlando might be MCO, dude.
O'Hare is O'RD.
MCO.
Orlando Airport Code.
Because I think this is one of the ones.
my buddy was like oh
Orlando's one of my favorites
it's K MCO and I'm like
no one what are you talking about with the K
but the K dude yeah
MCO
MCO
so that's been airport talk
that's all I had to say
oh no south pal pal pal
all right so I was just
looking up other I looked up weird
airport codes and they're
it's not what I wanted it to
it's like this one spells out fat
it's in Fresno
this one's supposed on LOL
regional airports.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Waste of time. It's okay. That's okay.
It was weird.
Sounds weird.
Sounds pretty weird.
Oh, that's kind of pretty weird.
All right, hey, real quick, let's just breeze through this thing.
Real quick, cozyert.com slash ghostrunners.
We're supporting them.
They're supporting us, I mean.
Softest, everything you can imagine.
I've been living, Jake, I've been living in Cozy Earth lately,

I've been just rocking their hoodies.
I ordered another one because I'm like, I wanted every color.
So I ordered a charcoal one.
Charcoal.
Mm-hmm.
For grilling.
It's a grilling season.
We're a charcoal hoodie and make that joke, and people will die laughing.
Yes, they will.
I have made the mistake before, kind of two mistakes in one.
First mistake was, boy, it's hot out.
I don't want to wear a shirt while I grill.
Second mistake was putting a little too much vegetable oil on the pan.
pop pop pop pop and kind of get a temporary tattoo on your stomach so um i would i would recommend
a little kindrick and a shirt to grill in find your charcoal shirt
cozy earth dot com slash ghostrunners take 20% off charcoal or not what's the code
try gr kcc if that doesn't work text me yeah anybody that advertises with this it's like you got
to just have jr k c as the code so have it available make room if there's not room
in your freezer or, oh, in your closet.
Yes.
Yeah.
Because you're at dot com slash ghostrunners.
Do you mind before?
Last thing.
I was going to say, we can, we can end it here.
You do or you don't have something else to add.
I want to play contexto and I want to play just fast as we can.
Okay.
I want to play.
I don't care about how many, how many attempts.
I want to get it in less than two minutes.
Okay.
Okay.

Author.
Yeah, there we go.
Author 15.
We're honing in.
Writer.
Writer.
Writer.
Writer's four.
Oh, Hemingway.
Hemingway.
Hemingway is 121, but
not bad though.
Okay, okay. God.
God.
Bible would be close to God.
Yeah, God got us further.
Dang it.
Are we thinking a specific author?
Right.
It's more like another word for,
another thing for author.
What was author?
Pinsel.
Pinsle!
Or Pinsle. Pinsle really bad.
What was author?
Pin.
Why is PIN and pencil so different?
Author is only 15.
Writer was four.
PIN was 47.
It was your top three.
Writer.
writer.
A writer.
Editor.
Editor.
Editor.
173.
Newspaper.
Newspaper.
Dang it!
Thought we had it.
I thought we had it.
Okay, Timon.
Writer.
Writer.
Author, Penn, and Hemingway are your top four.
Publish.
it's pretty good but not is it a specific author to be because Hemingway what but
Hemingway was just close it wasn't yeah Hemingway was 121 okay not that close oh
writer writer writer uh Tolkien talking talking bad I am so lost I like I writer writer it's
almost when you get close it's almost harder can I throw in some words let's try like
of course you can buddy fiction yeah go
Fiction was 32.
Okay.
Mystery.
Nonfiction.
Yeah.
Documentary.
Nonfiction was 95.
Drama.
Novel.
Novel.
Drama.
Novels 41.
Top four.
A writer, author, fiction novel.
So what is author?
What number was author?
15, I think.
15.
And writer is a little bit better.
Why is writer so much better than author?
I'm going to type critic.
Critic was 36.
Writer.
It's so close to writer.
It's so similar to writer.
It's obvious?
Yes.
Story.
Story.
114.
Bha.
I don't think we got on two minutes.
I haven't been timing it.
I don't.
I did storyteller.
That got us in the top three.
Right now it's writer, author, storyteller.
Storyteller was three?
Yeah.
Or like it's the third best one.
Poet.
Oh, oh.
Oh, poet.
That was it.
Poet!
go. Oh, man.
That gave a small thing.
Man.
That is tough.
I wish it was a little better for podcasts because it's fun.
It's hard, though.
Not terrible for podcasts.
We feel space.
Yeah, yeah.
I'll do this after the podcast, but you get done with Contexto and it says,
would you also like to play Connexo, Letroso, and Expresso?
Whoa.
Let's play one of them real quick.
That's pretty fun.
Let's play one of them.
Let's figure it out.
If people don't want to listen, they don't listen.
That's fine.
true. Just get out of here. Yeah,
you didn't pay to be here.
All right. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Ghostrunners.orgers.combe and bought a shirt.
Expresso. Oh, find the secret expression.
This is got to be miserable.
Find the secret expression after each of tips.
Okay. Oh, oh, this is going to be so hard if you guys can't see it.
Oh, gosh. It's basically like we're playing Wheel of Fortune or Hangman, but only I can see it.
Can you share your screen?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I think you can.
I'm seeing share on my thing.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Where are you seeing that?
Media?
Next to audio, video.
And it says share.
Like down by the, where you meet your microphone and stuff.
Oh, oh, oh, down, down, down.
Sal, pow, down.
Your screen.
Open system settings.
Goodness gracious.
Golly.
Why would it not already be on?
Oh, Google.
May not be able to screen record until it quits.
Would you like to quit and reopen?
That sounds like a bad idea right now.
Don't do that.
Don't do that.
Okay.
All right, so espresso will do another time.
All right.
Expresso.
Let's try one of the other ones.
I almost feel like something where it has more fill in the blank would be easier, right?
Contexto just so.
of nowhere.
I put this other game on Sporkel the other day,
where it was like,
basically you're trying to figure out how many
flights it would take you to get somewhere.
Or like, that's the idea of the game is like,
you guess a random city, like you say
Tokyo, and it'd be like, uh, west
of Tokyo or it would say, you know, and then
like, okay, or whatever.
And so then you'd be like, okay, Boston.
And you go from Tokyo to Boston.
It'd be this many miles. And then, no,
south of Boston. So you'd say,
Rio de Janeiro and like
it keeps like you keep
whittling it down until you finally get it
but the idea is to try to fly as little as possible to get there.
Kind of fun. Yeah.
Oh.
But eventually it gives you clues and you can fill in the blanks.
Cool.
Not finding the other good ones.
Yeah, I tried the other one.
That one was just wordal basically, just with a new name.
Mm-hmm.
Huh.
So that would be the last thing I say.
All right.
If nothing else needs to be said,
I think we can just kind of wrap this thing up.
Yeah, unless.
It's been a good episode.
Yeah, I don't have much.
I do.
Actually, no, I don't.
You don't?
What about a comment of the week?
Anybody got one?
My golly, let me look.
No, I don't have any comments.
At Capital One, we don't just use technology.
We architect it.
Our teams have true end-to-end product ownership.
shipping distributed systems that handle high concurrency at scale.
No single server bottlenecks, engineered beyond legacy downtime,
and operating right here in downtown Toronto.
That's technology at Capital One.
Search Technology at Capital One, Canada.
One thing I'll say is just this comment.
I really appreciated, I'm going to try to find it,
but somebody talked about how funny that sassy from Homeward Bound,
because that got me so good.
Claire Marie Spencer on Spotify.
First of all, we read both Spotify and YouTube,
so I feel like we almost always do Spotify comments of the week
because they're just so quick for me to access.
Hey, don't worry, I'm on YouTube this time.
But just, but just know that we are looking at all.
Claire Marie Spencer said she was the voice of Sassy and Homeward Bound.
I actually had to drop my weights.
I laughed so hard.
Seriously.
that was so perfect.
It's so good.
Because it was not only like the pull of Homeward Bound,
which is just funny,
but then one on top of it
just like,
so,
so a minor of a celebrity,
like on one of the three characters
from such a long time ago,
it just was perfect.
That is so funny to me.
So the fact that Jake just said that out of nowhere,
like needs to be appreciated.
Thank you.
So.
My comment leagues from,
Dave, he said about old kids movies.
I highly recommend fantastic,
recommend.
I highly recommend fantastic Mr. Fox if you haven't seen it.
Probably the most beautiful movie ever made and perfect for kids and adults alike.
It's Wes Anderson if that tells you anything.
The type of stuff that I be wanting to say on the podcast, but don't want to be looking like a nerd.
No offense to Dave.
I actually like that and I'm going to be bringing up more things like that.
Because I don't know.
It's a really good animated movie.
Oh, it's animated.
Stop motion.
Oh, it's a cartoon.
Stop motion is chicken run?
No, it's claymation.
They're both stop motion, but chicken run is specifically claymation.
And that's a very specific style of claymation.
Don't think they're all the same.
Okay.
So it's not Wallace and Gromit.
No.
Okay.
Have you seen anything Wes Anderson has made?
I feel like I have seen something, but I can't remember what it is.
You should watch Fantastic Mr. Fox.
It's funny.
That's like one of your top letterbox movies, I think, isn't it?
So my kids can watch it?
Or?
I think so.
Some people told me, hey, mouse hunt's not ready for kids yet.
I saw that.
Got it.
Thank you.
Appreciate that.
Yeah, you can look up at that's Mr. Fox, but they do a funny thing where instead of saying cuss words,
they just say the word cuss.
Okay.
If you want your kids to start saying that, then.
No, my mean, what do you think of when you hear the word cuss?
Jake.
I'm a mean cuss from remember Titans.
Might be a mean cuss, but I'm the same mean cuss to everybody.
Yeah.
It's confusing for me as a kid.
I watched Denzel
a movie last night called Inside Man.
Oh, I think I saw that back in the day.
Yeah.
Good.
Not like, oh my gosh, I got to watch that a million more times, but it was awesome.
It's fun.
Bank robbery movie, classic, like, detective kind of thing.
There's an inside man, yadi, yada,
I don't have a comment of the week.
I was just going to say,
Ashley E.A.S. did leave this comment.
So glad Teddy is home.
We had spontaneous triplets at 33 weeks, spent 32 days in the NICU, and it's such an exhausting stage.
Their circumcision was as described, but they did it with us in the room.
I will say I'd forgotten most of it until hearing this, so luckily for everyone involved,
that memory does fade a little.
Jeez.
Thank you, Ashley.
Wow.
All three of them.
It's like, you went through it once.
It's like, all right, next.
Bime and bulk.
What do you think spontaneous triplets means?
I'm guessing maybe like water broke early.
Mm-hmm.
But do you think it was always triplets or you think it was like, oh, snap, here they come.
Yeah, maybe, like thought they had twins, spontaneous third snuck in.
Mm-hmm.
Whoops.
One more.
Anyway, that's all I had.
What about you guys?
Oh, that's about it.
I guess my win of the week, if you want to say that, you want to talk about wins.
Oh, yeah, you guys can if you want.
no I'm good but you guys can go I guess if I had to think of one uh probably the weekend in Georgia
that I brought up a few times it was really good very very very fun and also very spiritually
forming it was very good very cool I also had a great weekend away in Texas um it was awesome
seeing uh just friends from camp that you know it's just a cool thing to have like lifelong
it's like they're becoming old friends you know the old like Ben Reck
like nothing like old friends.
And obviously I think of that as like childhood best friends,
but now it's like, but also there's these people that also know me
at a different stage of my life than I'm in now.
But yet we can still laugh about those times,
make jokes that like no one else is going to think is funny.
You know, but like anyway.
But I will say that that paled in comparison to meeting Kobe from Dude Perfect.
So I would give away all my friends to just hang out with Dude Perfect people.
So shout out Kobe.
Best friends.
I don't have a win of the week.
I was just going to say something that I really appreciated and enjoyed this week because it...
Okay.
Because it was a good thing.
Yeah.
Is, you know, Rachel and I are like just not sleeping much.
And when we are, I think it's like opposite.
Like we're barely awake at the same time.
But we're still having a lot of fun together.
Still joking around a lot.
I'm thankful for that.
We are weirdly appreciative of, we've talked about this.
Like, I mean, once every couple days, we go, how do you do this if you're a single mom?
Seriously.
For whatever reason, that's been so top of mind.
How do you do this with like an unsupportive, like a spouse or without a spouse in general?
Or, you know, fill in the blank.
Like, my goodness.
This is hard and everything's going perfectly.
This is crazy.
Yeah.
Or like even like financially, how do you do it?
Yeah, we think about stuff like that.
I was like, hey, we both have extremely safe cars.
What if we did it?
What if that was an extra thing we had to be nervous about?
Or reliable.
Yeah, just like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So many things like that.
Just like try to be thankful for every little thing.
Yeah.
And on top of that, still joking around plenty.
Of course, I'm like always in characters saying like really basic phrases.
I've never, I'm saying, this, this kid is going to give me fit.
Like not doing anything.
Oh, he's going to make my hair gray.
Oh, yeah.
I say that sometimes.
That girl's going to turn my hair gray.
I think that's what he says on.
Michael says out in the office.
I don't,
I mean,
can I give you a piece of advice?
Just one dad to another,
in one podcast or to another.
I would say,
like all those things that you just framed
in like a positive,
like good outlook kind of way,
I would call that a win of the week, dude.
I think that's really,
I think that's like,
like,
I know you said you didn't have one.
That's fine.
But I would say like,
if I could look at,
if I'm looking at it,
like through your lens, I would say win, win, dude.
That's like a lot of wins.
You're really blessed with those things.
So like really appreciate that more than you seems like, yeah.
That's a good point.
Right?
Like you see it?
You see how Jake like Jake missed it.
But I think.
Yeah.
Because I was going to suggest like we could do a new segment like for things like that.
We'd call like good like good things of the week that we appreciate.
Which would be good too.
Blessings of the week.
But dude, like for a lack of for keeping it more simplified.
That could totally be a win.
Yeah.
And then it wouldn't be like, I don't have a win, but I have a blessing.
It's like, dude, I think that the blessings would be wins.
So do you get it, Jake?
Yeah, yeah.
No, I think.
Think about it, noodle on it a little bit.
It's not easy for me to like kind of look at like a full landscape of my week
and then like summarize that in like a succinct or entertaining way.
No, but that's what you just did.
You did it really well.
Yeah.
Are you talking to me?
Or you talking?
yes Jake oh
mm-hmm so
well that's all I had to say
I didn't you didn't have anything to say though
you said yeah no I'm all set
you're all set I'm just gonna say
um
you said weather's good there still
yeah man weather's real nice that's nice that's nice
same weather was rainy in Texas
pretty wet
see you're good at like taking the week
and then giving a like tying a bow
around like the best parts like that.
And I didn't have an umbrella for the funeral.
And so I walked in pretty wet.
Pretty tough.
So.
So.
But yeah, I don't need to talk about that.
Well, we'll just say thanks to the ghosties and we'll get out of here.
We'll get out of your hair, ghosties.
We'll get out of your hair.
But please like and subscribe and support us.
and yeah, come to Nappany.
We won't be there, but we'd love to have you guys there.
Come on down to Napanie.
Come on, books and flights, guys.
Yeah, go visit Good Ranchers at their headquarters, you know, on Texas.
Come to Branson.
Come to Branson, guys.
Come to Kansas City.
We might not be here.
We're pretty busy these days, but check out Phoenix.
Check it out.
