Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, we're so excited to be back and doing another hotline episode and answering fashion questions with Deepop, the home of circular fashion. I feel like you never get to really like Simon Cowell with fashion advice. So this has been really fun for you. Yeah, because I don't want to take up all the time on the pod. So it's like I need this little extra couple of minutes. Yeah, and I like asking you important questions. Sorry, we're just informing the people. We're also both wearing Deepop right now.
Starting point is 00:00:25 I'm wearing this really cool, um, deconstructed jersey. It's a soccer jersey that has lace on it and a little ribbon. So I'm like, I'm just multifaceted. You're so lower east side. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this was like a long skirt and like combat boots. Grace, first question.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Wait, there has been a game where we both have like one thing and see how we style it differently. What are you wearing? I'm just talking to this little like gray to. Hank with this black, I mean, your boobs are out. Sorry that my boobs are poking everyone in the eye this episode. I love the leather. Thanks. Yeah. She's off for a siren. A little dominatrix. Deepop is also where taste recognizes taste. Hannah, you have the app open. I'm obsessed with scrolling it because I put in my size and then sometimes I also put in like a style I'm looking for and then I just She can like really narrow it down. Yeah, it's not, it doesn't feel as chaotic. Oh my God,
Starting point is 00:01:27 This is so cute. It's like a snake skin jacket. Okay, we're in the middle of something. Sorry. Really cute snake skin jacket. Hello, Hanan, Paige. Hope everything is good with you. So right now I'm almost six months pregnant.
Starting point is 00:01:43 I can say that my bump is still pretty small. But I think I'm getting into a point where the bump is going to bump. And I just wanted to know what I would have been. your fashion advice for someone that it's like doesn't want to fall into the mom jeans pregnant dilemma what a great great question i feel like you've definitely thought of your fashion looks when you're pregnant as someone who's never been pregnant but has a lot of opinions on pregnant women's fashion um i think it's so play the super bowl i think it's and then you first get a record deal yeah perform at the super bowl
Starting point is 00:02:32 become riana um god bless you thank you i think it's so personal on like whether you're showing the baby but like some people are all about like i'm wearing a two-piece set i'm wearing all my old clothes i don't care and then there's other people that are like i rather wear like a flowy long maxi dress so i feel like it's totally based on what your one year style is and your like comfortability. But people don't talk enough about, yeah, that like four or five month range where you want to show it off, but it could also look like you're just bloated and like let yourself go. Yeah. So it's like a thin line because people don't really know you're pregnant. I mean, you can walk around with like your hand underneath it, but that's exhausting. I love the idea
Starting point is 00:03:12 of accentuating the bump in terms of wearing like a low rise cargo pant and then like a cute maybe like fitted t-shirt with like a sweater over your shoulders. um i just like i like the idea of like a baggy pant and like a cute little like cardigan or like some type of top how do you feel about belly button out i think if you want your belly button out get your belly button out yeah it might feel freeing let her fly you know i don't i don't know what it feels like to have a pregnant stomach so i don't know if i'm going to be one of those people that's like no i need to have my stomach out or i'll die yeah because it could might be really hot where you're like I need to air out or if I'm like no I want the biggest comfiest coziest sweater yeah
Starting point is 00:03:56 I think the answer though is having that range depending on the day depending what you're going through mentally physically but I think like oversized cargo pants with a cute little ballet flat and then maybe like a cardigan t-shirt you could do a crop t-shirt if you want the belly out or you can do a regular t-shirt like oversized if you don't what about doing a button down but only buttoned at the top and then it goes out cute And that's why they call me her apprentice. You quizzing me on fashion. How do you spell O'Eweb?
Starting point is 00:04:34 How do you spell O'Eweb? Okay, Grace. Okay, this is from Megan. I love when Chris reads them because it's like an alien first game to the world. I have a really hard time getting rid of clothes, even the ones that are outdated, because fashion trends keep coming back around. My fiancé thinks that I have too many clothes, and I agree. So I want to do a closet clean out.
Starting point is 00:05:01 What is the best way to know if you would get rid of something? My rule is, if I haven't worn it in a full year, I'm never wearing it. I know. And it's sad. It's sad. Because you're like, well, that's 80% of what I own. The problem with me, though, is I only wear the same three. things all the time so it's like i don't wear anything in my closet a way to like because sometimes
Starting point is 00:05:25 i feel like people go into a closet clean out and they're bright-eyed and they're bushy-tailed and they don't actually know what they're getting themselves into i like to prepare a couple months prior to a closet clean out and you slowly and here's what i started doing anything i'm wearing over and over when i put it back in my closet i'm putting it in a specific section because i'm like i wear that this is my day to day i need to remember that i wear that i wear that a lot. I reach for it a lot. There's also like a trick where you, if you put it back in the right section, you like twist the hanger so you know that like, oh, I always wear that. Then after like two months, you can see things that you haven't even touched. And it's like, get rid of it. That is so
Starting point is 00:06:03 fucking right. Because yeah, in theory, I would wear some of these things. But it's like if you're always going to pick something over it, it doesn't need to be there. So you have to do a little like science and math. I went too hard with a closet clean out and I have no leather boots. Like, I threw them on. I donated them, I think. I have no leather boots. How's that happened? Grace is laughing.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Sorry, Anna's having a meltdown. Literally yesterday, I need to wear a leather boot. I'm like, I got it. I'm like, how'd I throw away and donate four leather boots? Yeah, it'll get you. So I recommend doing like a little math before and like figuring out. Look, what's not going to math? Things you wear and things you don't.
Starting point is 00:06:41 But then you can go into your closet clean out. It's so true. There's also things that I'm like, I would look gorgeous if I wore it. But, like, it's not comfortable or it's tight or I just know that I actually look too revealing in it. There are certain things where I'm like, I know I'm only going to wear that once for that one event. But, like, I love it. But it's like, you don't need it. Also, I don't want to speak for men, but women change.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Yeah. And like, and we grow. I am so different from a year ago what I would wear. Yes. And it doesn't necessarily mean like. You go through phases. You go through phases. And there's just so many things that I'm like, that's not who I am as a woman.
Starting point is 00:07:18 and that's not what I'm putting out into the world anymore. Yeah. Sorry. This is the remix. Sorry. It's a remix. Hannah can come to the phone right now. She's dead.
Starting point is 00:07:26 And while you're cleaning out your closet, Deepop is actually the perfect place because there's no seller fees. It's so easy to like get rid of your things. And also, you might see a few things on there that you're like, I need to replenish. Yeah. And it's great because you're like, oh, no, I'm giving stuff away. You're making money. You're a woman in STEM.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Yep. I know you love a. mood board. Did you know you can make shopable mood boards for events? Like if let's say you're throwing a birthday party and it's like a theme or like a vacation or a vacation with friends and you put it together a bachelorette party. Yeah. So that's really fun. I'm like obsessed with the shirt. Hey Hannah and Paige. O.Giggler here. Okay, I'll keep a short and sweet. I'm in my Rital era. I don't know where to find my rehearsal dinner dress. The theme is going to be a Western Sheik. I'm getting married in the Colorado Mountains. It'll be next July.
Starting point is 00:08:18 So summary, and yes, I know it's super early, but I am too Taipei to wait much longer to figure out what I'm going to wear. So I'm looking for something that's super hot, super sexy, but also bridal, classy, that I can wear with cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, my hair will be long and curled. That's the vibe. Let me know where to look, what I should wear. I'm really just looking for pages approval on what I'm going to be wearing that night. Okay, I love you. Bye. It's actually a great question specifically for Deepop because there's so many girls getting married, so many people in their bridal era, so many different wedding events. And then it's like after that wedding event, they're like, what do I do with this dress? Especially the rehearsal.
Starting point is 00:08:58 You don't like necessarily keep it. Right. And it's not like everyone was at your rehearsal. So like so many people saw it, whatever. So I feel like girls do get rid of their rehearsal dresses. My vision immediately went to something long, white, well, really more like ivoryish silk, open back. tied around her neck because I think you could still do a cowboy hat with that like haltery yep and you can still do cowboy boots and it's like cute and chic but you're still in like a classic rehearsal dinner dress and I feel like that's there's something like that definitely on depot I love that for her I think that's really classy I also for some reason I was envisioning like off the shoulder like Chloe type dress like big sleeves almost maybe big sleeves or even just like a a lace off the shoulder but like kind of you're giving declotage out yeah i don't want to say
Starting point is 00:09:51 like hippie but like you know what i mean yeah i know what you mean yeah so chloe was a great way to describe that was sorry that was sorry i'm like sorry i'm so brassy so yeah um so yeah an off the shoulder is really sexy yeah and then yeah i would go long though yes long for sure long because it's a little like mountainy yeah a little cowgirly I wish I could pull up a cowgirl. Maybe like a cap sleeve something. That could be cute, like a little trad wife-esque. Yeah, like a little bit, but it's like sexy.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay, Grace. Hey, Hannah and Paige. I just wanted to ask how do you plan your outfits? I feel like I wake up in the morning and I'm already just in a rush. And then I tend to put together an outfit that I've already worn before or is not very exciting.
Starting point is 00:10:44 and I'm not wearing the pieces that I have bought for the season. So I'm just wondering how you structure that in your life and if you have any tips for planning outfits. It's truly the worst. It's so like people talk about like how do you figure out where you're going to eat for dinner every night? A breeze. What are you going to wear every day?
Starting point is 00:11:05 So stressful. Whenever I get in moods where I'm like, oh my God, I wake up every morning I'm putting workout clothes on or I'm putting sweats and I'm not putting any outfits together. and it's annoying me. I start with shoes because I find that to be the easiest because that plays off of like what's the weather today? What am I doing today?
Starting point is 00:11:25 Do I have to walk a lot? So if you start with your shoes, I feel like it's way easier. I've never thought of that. My mom taught me that. I also. So like the other day it rained and I was like, okay, so I know I'm wearing rain booths. And then I can build off of that. So it's like if you're going to work and you're like, I know I don't want to be
Starting point is 00:11:44 in a heel. I want to be in a ballet flat. You can build off the ballet flat. Oh, I'm wearing a riding boot to work tomorrow. Build off of that. Like, I feel like I always build off the top. Like, what top do I want to wear? No, no, no. Yeah. See, you're making it harder for yourself because all of your tops go with pretty much all of your pants. It's very confusing. But also mentally, like, let's say you have a dinner on Wednesday. Yeah. When do you start thinking about what you're going to wear for that dinner? Oh, depends on who the dinner is with. But I feel like I, no matter what the event is, if it's not like super fancy, I will never force myself to think about what I'm going to wear because I don't want to like cloud my head space.
Starting point is 00:12:26 But I have to like start doing that because I'm exactly like her where it's like 10 minutes before. I'm like, let's see if I get lucky. Okay. So like last weekend I went out to dinner with a couple of my friends on a Friday night. I thought about what I was wearing out to that dinner on Monday. Exactly. Yeah. And you knew it.
Starting point is 00:12:42 You had a vision. What do you do when you have a vision? Because I know you do, you're like, this is what's going to look good. You put it on, it doesn't hit the way you want it to hit. That's stressful. That's really stressful. Oh, my God, just got hot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Because getting ready is so easy when you're like thought of this outfit, putting it on, whatever. Especially a new thing you bought and you're like, can't wait to wear it. Look, I'm not God. So I can't solve that problem. But I will throw everything around my room and make it look like it got robbed. Yeah. I think some things just don't work visually. the way they do in your head, and that's just like trial and error.
Starting point is 00:13:16 I have been a person where I'm like, okay, I have a dinner on Friday. I have an outfit idea. I try it on on Wednesday. It's horrible. Then I'm like back to the drawing board. It's really just like you have to prepare. I love you coming back home and being like. They stumped us today.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Didn't go well today. Get back on the saddle tomorrow. Yeah. How much do you dress? Does it depend on what you think other people are going to wear to the event? A lot. But like this was a dinner where I knew we were going to like a she. restaurant it was Friday night it's New York City it's 830 I knew I was wearing a heel but
Starting point is 00:13:48 you like to be the fanciest dressed right I read my rooms you want to be like top 5% top 10% yeah I like to be bottom 10% I like to be in the top two of best outfit top no I like know if I'm going out to dinner with my girlfriends where like I know they're putting on an outfit I'm gonna put on an outfit yes but if I'm going with people where I'm like one person's going to be in what they wore to work today so like I can wear flats yeah wow we are getting the like serious how the mind works of fashion icon pedger sorbo um I'm gonna start planning outfits more yeah you've been saying this for seven years years years you're like I'm just going to plan beforehand I'm like oh okay also it's part of my undiagnosed ADHD where if one outfit works
Starting point is 00:14:39 I'll wear it over and over and over and over and over and over again. Because I know you feel you're like... Until people like catch on to it and then I have to switch outfits. Like the black summer dress of 08? That was from Amazon. Oh my God. Like, because it was black, I thought people didn't know it. I could name your eras.
Starting point is 00:15:02 I can literally name them. I thought people didn't know. The denim shorts of 2017. I thought people didn't know about the black dress because it was black. We all knew. I thought it might be different. Also, you tried with the denim jacket thrown on top. We knew. Also, it was for pregnant women. I think your mom had to finally be like, it's enough with the black dress. You guys had an intervention. Yeah, we were like, she's got to stop. It's every day. You go at first, it was fun, and now we think it's a problem.
Starting point is 00:15:28 We think it's a mental illness. Thank you, Deepop for making this hotline bonus episode possible. Deepop, the home of circular fashion, where taste recognizes taste.
