Hey folks, Frank here, and if you are a loyal fan of our classic GGACP holiday episodes with Mario Canton and who isn't, we're back this year, but it can only be found on my new podcast fun for all ages.
Here's a sneak preview, but for the rest of the episode, click on the link in the description.
Happy and merry and joy.
All right, kids, you want to try this?
Yeah, baby.
Let's roll.
Here we go.
Hi, this is Frank.
And this is fun for all ages of the podcast for pop culture obsessives like me, like you,
and like the two comedy geniuses that are sitting here with me right now,
making me laugh and making it difficult to get through this intro.
We're here at Citivox with our engineer, Ashley Burke.
And this week, we're deviating slightly
from our weekly pop culture obsession format
with our first and hopefully one of many holiday episodes
and helping me get through this and get into the spirit,
our two dear friends,
who happened to be two of the funniest human beings on the planet.
You got that right, baby.
And we're very close.
We started together.
Our careers have been very simultaneous.
Yes, right?
And we're very good friends.
We're very close.
Yes.
I adore her.
Yes.
You know, she's like one of my favorite people in the comedy world.
Well, we're like brother and sister kind of.
That's true.
Even though she just said she utend toward narcissism.
She was talking about Barbara Streis.
Exactly.
Not Mario.
No, this is Barbara.
I hope you're listening to my Christmas album with jingle ball, jingle, jingle,
And this room, this color of this room is very beige. I have a barn in Malibu, and it looks like a barn. So I call it a barn. And it has a water wheel. Because my son, Jason, said, get a water wheel. So I did.
And if Jason told you to jump off the Empire State Building?
My son Jason would never tell me to jump off the Empire State Building. One time he said, jump off that bed. And
make me breakfast small.
And I said, we have butlers and maids
and there's a yogurt shop in the basement
and you can buy knick-knacks at the same
time. So do it yourself.
Let me get through these intros
which won't be easy.
Susie Esman
is an original and audacious
stand-up comedian and actress who's
appeared on the big screen with talents
like John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson,
Eugene Levy, and yes, Miley Cyrus
and even David Letterman. And in hit
TV shows like American Dad, Bob's
Berger's, the King of Queens, the Goldbergs, the Simpsons, and just like that.
Broad City and even Celebrity Jeopardy.
But she'll never have a credit like Funny Girl or Hollow Darling.
No, I won't, okay?
She's also appeared in dramas such as Blue Blood's Law and Order and lent her voice to animated
films and TV projects and co-hosted her own podcast, but she's probably best known
for her unforgettable work as Larry David's frequent antagonist Susie Green on HBO's
greatly missed, curb your enthusiasm.
I had no idea I did all that stuff.
You did all that stuff.
You did it all.
You know why?
Because I'm fucking old.
That's what it is.
And it's good.
Is that the reason?
Yes.
And she'd like it to be known that she has nothing against Christmas.
She just wants it.
She wants to know why the hell it has to start right after Labor Day.
It's ridiculous.
It does.
The lights go up.
It didn't.
Not when we were kids.
It wasn't.
It was after Thanksgiving when we were kids.
People are very needy.
They need it right away.
It's true.
It's true.
Oh, did somebody drop a cell phone out of their asshole?
Yes and no.
Mario Cantone.
I hope this introduction isn't as long as Susie Esmond's eye, Barbara Streisand, would need that long of an introduction because people just know.
You say, funny girl, what's up, Doc?
I know.
I don't know why I'm obsessed with Barbara Streisand in this moment.
It's a runner.
I keep doing it.
