Here's what we got cracking in Gilles Arena today.
San Antonio outlasted the defending champs to win the West.
What statement did Wimby and the Smurbs make by getting the franchise back to the finals for the first time since 2014?
The Knicks and Spurs are set to face off in an NBA Cup rematch,
but which squad will be hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy when it's all said and done
and the Thunder were a game away from their second straight finals after holding down the top spot in the West for the third straight season.
Does OCP need to make a major move to keep their championship window open?

They ain't got no faith.
They only make them ones.

You got to hand it to them.
Normally I love New York, but I think I love Nick Young in this particular country.
Here you go.
You've got to be polite, right?
I don't be polite.
It's a gentleman's stuff.
You've got to be gentle.
Well, let's get it.
right to it. This weekend we got the best two words in sports game seven. But before we
talk about what went down Saturday in the Western Conference Finals, let's go back to last
week to see how we got there. SGA came through with 32 points, nine assists. Alex Crusoe
bounced back from a donut in game four with 22 points off the bench to lift the thunder
over the spurs in game five to take a three two series lead after his worst game of the series
Wimby ducked the media and with his squad facing elimination for the first time in his
career of the alien pulled up to game six in the Spurs arena rocking a dark green robe
to celebrate an Islamic holiday known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
I was going to try to pronounce it, but I don't want all my Islamic people out there to
Ida, I don't know.
Not near another.
This can that near another?
Windy pulled up in the dark green robe.
Many thought it was a Shaolin monk rope.
It was not.
He corrected them after the game.
Gave his squad and in passion pregame speech.
proceeded to deliver an impassioned performance, putting up 28 points, 10 boards,
and three blocks as the Spurs crews cruised to the 27-point win,
while holding the Thunder to 37% shooting, including 25% from 3.
San Antonio's Game 6 wins set the stage for Game 7 back in Oklahoma City Saturday
with the Thunderer once again without Jalen Williams, A.J. Mitchell,
and in the final game of what will go down is one of the greatest series in league history.
Winby and the Spurs show the back-to-back MVP and defending champ
that there's a new sheriff in town.
Let's take a look at the Game 7 highlights.
which are vast and extensive, if we can please.
Wimby set the tone early hitting the first bucket of the game.
Then proceeded to yam all over Chet Holmgren's life's first through the first punch, once again jumping out to an 18-8 lead
behind a balance, scoring, attack.
San Antonio led by as much as 14 in the first frame.
But Thunder closed the quarter on a 12-5 run to cut the deficit to seven.
Spurs shot 57% from the field and 50% from the field.
and 50% from 3 in the first frame.
Thunder bounced back in the second quarter,
taking their first lead of the game with SGA,
leading the charge.
Shea scored 13 of his 19 first half points in that second frame.
OKC was able to take a four-point lead,
a little over a minute remaining.
Thanks in large part to plays like this.
Yeah.
Very spirited game, very intense.
O'KC played from behind the most.
For most of the evening.
Like I said, Shea, 13 points in the second quarter.
Thunder up four, Spurs into the half on a 70 run to take a three-point lead into the break.
Let me hit in that nice bank.
What?
Thunder tried to rally in the third quarter, taking a one-point lead after this Alex Caruso,
three, is the first lead change in the second half.
of a game in this series since game one wouldn't last long as Julian Champany came
through with a trade points including two threes to put the Spurs back on top.
Campini had 11 points in the quarter helping spark a 16-2 run which was capped off by that
Wimby 3 to put the Spurs up 11th.
Thunder responding with a 9-1 run of their own to cut the deficit back to three.
Both teams struggled to generate office in that third quarter through 30 percent and then
we hit the fourth.
took control of the game and the final frame.
Shot a ridiculous 60% from the field.
Sending their lead to 11th with 8 minutes remaining.
Luke Cornett,
blocked by Cornett, as they said.
In that moment, Champani kept doing what he did,
almost out of the league.
Now, going to the finals,
Dylan Harper did his thing as well.
Spurs up nine.
Dylan Harper had a three and put him up 12,
but under four minutes.
Raine, Case & Wiles hit back-to-back threes to cut the deficit to six.
The Castle came through.
That's as close as it would get.
Furgs had every answer to the Thunder's test.
San Antonio, seven players scoring double figures.
We'll be putting up a team high 22 points on 7-15 shooting along with seven rebounds.
Champany added 20 points, going 6 for 10 from threes to find Castle 16, 6 and 6.
Dillon Harper chipped in 12 and 7 rebounds on 5 of 8 shooting.
SGA, game high 35 points on 12-12-12-21 shooting for the Thunder along with 9.
Assists in three steals but scored just four points in the fourth quarter as we've seen emotional wimby
celebrating with his spurs crew as they got the win on the thunder's home four series
ended much like it began spurs getting a big game win but this time to send the thunder packing so here with the game
seven reacts from both sides i'm most excited about feeling what i felt when that buzzer went off
again and again and again and even more.
Really, it's you work, all these hours we put in,
it's for this type of emotions.
Like I want that, I want to win so bad.
It's like my life depends on it.
They're young, they're talented, well-coached.
Play the right way, play together.
It seems like they like each other.
They have the makeup, for sure.
You don't beat us without them.
make up and they beat us up they have the makeup to go get one.
The Larry O'Brien, it's a child who dream and having a real shot at it, having a
tangible chance at winning it, at realizing a dream, you know, it's a chance, it's a lifetime
chance, you know, it's, you never know what's going to happen again, but it's, you know, the
day we win it, speaking for myself, it's going to be an amazing day of,
like realization of a dream, you know, it's hard to put it to work.
It's almost like the meaning of my life, you know.
Meaning of Winby's life, Swagger will start with you.
Biggest takeaway from the Spurs.
Game 7 win over the thunder to clinch, the Western Conference Finals?
I feel like this is what the media wanted right there.
He's, if you thought the OKC had a chance in that game seven,
you was losing it.
They already picked a star, face of the lead.
They know Spurs going will be a better storyline, more chaos.
I just feel like it's not organic, you know, the way they're pushing Wimby right now.
It's like they're forcing him to be my favorite player instead of just letting it happen.
So Wimby your favorite player now?
No, it's like they want us to be.
Like everything is Wimby, Wimby, Wimby, you know.
You got other guys that, you know, you don't talk about their greatness.
You talk about foul baiting, you know, like a she.
When you talk about sheriffs, guys like that, they just talk about free throws.
But during that game, I would say, you know, Chet, I don't know where he disappeared.
Got two shots up.
I can't really, you know, that's crazy.
Game 7, you're supposed to be a co-star to get only two shots.
I don't know what happened.
Must have been the dunk.
He got dunked on the first play that took him all the way out the game.
But you've seen it.
You've seen how scared he looked out there.
And for a game 7 to be a guy that's paid $200 million, this is embarrassing.
Like, this is a...
You really got to have conversations with what you want to do with him.
One guy could take you out a whole series.
He's really scared of Wembe, you know.
And you've seen it, and you don't see that on the court.
You don't see grown men being really terrified
to the point that you only get two shots up.
I would say, and the Spurs, I feel like,
had one of the easiest roles to the playoffs.
Every team they played was pretty much hurt.
I'm going for the Knicks.
Having said all that, that's...
I'm going for the next.
You're going to keep your Wimby.
I'm going to keep my Wimby campaign going.
Just because they're forcing it on me, you know.
Pushing the Wimby Pact.
Yeah, I feel like he's already going to be Jordan right now.
All right, let's shift over to you, Canyon.
What were your biggest takeaways from the Spurs game seven win over Thunder
to win the Western Conference?
Spurs grew up.
You thought they can beat them.
They proved it during the regular season.
Long, tough series.
Finally had a decent game. Game one was a decent game. Game seven was a decent game. The rest of them were in washes.
But now the spurs grew up right before our very eyes.
Going out and competing at the level that they did for seven games and
Willing that series not all the people gave them an opportunity a chance in game seven. I don't think going back there young team a lot of inexperience
but they proved that they belong.
Wasn't a stellar game offensively from anyone.
Wemn't be team high 22.
But they defended well.
OKC had three starters and they had 13 points total.
Like that's...
Yeah, that's tough, man.
Chet, yeah, to your point, Nick,
yeah, he checked out when he got dunked on.
Yeah, it took that man hard when he got dunked on.
So I saw a post with Chet talking about
I need to go look at tape.
Tape ain't going to help, young man.
Yeah.
You got to go look in the mirror.
Like, you got to find a big mirror.
That ain't go, that tape ain't going to show you nothing that you didn't know what happened already.
So that ain't go do.
And that 41 kick in next year.
So he's lucky that that extension had already been signed.
So that 41 kick in next year.
And that made you very tradable.
that performance and
with a guy like Janice being out there
and a guy who can help and bring that
different kind of energy to a team
yeah, Chad, you can do yourself no favors
in that regard but we'll see what San Presti
does. They got some decisions to make.
They
got the 12th and the 17th pick and if they
sign them guys and
it increases their salary cap
by like 80 million or something that's crazy.
The second apron. Yeah, so
they got some decisions to make man over there what they're
going to do moving forward.
But it's going to be a good finals.
I like what the Spurs have done so far.
But, yeah, Wimby proved that he's a winner.
Stefan Kassel, I think, makes them go.
Him and Dylan Harper, I think, are the engines that make them go how they compete.
But, no, I'm excited to see this finals, man.
I'm excited to see it.
All right, let's shift over to this side, Skip, still see you being loyal to your hometown soil,
rocking the Oklahoma Sunday?
Fuller City Thunder hat, despite them getting put in a pack.
Were your biggest takeaways from the Spurs game seven win over the time?
Since I am right now residing in the city morgue awaiting autopsy,
there is no way I'm going to speak on this show before the alien across from me speak.
Oh, you got to, Skip.
Oh, you have to.
No, Melp, you go.
It is your day.
You got to glow first.
I got to hear what you have to say.
Don't get the rebuttal.
You already tried to step in front of it online.
No, go here.
You got the floor, man, because I got a lot to say.
I got a lot to stay.
I don't want you sitting through my shit.
Shot, we were all.
Yeah, no, no, no, no, go here, man.
He's going to be here.
He's going to hear you.
Go ahead.
Yeah, I know you want to hear me.
Yeah, I know you won't hear me.
You go hear me.
Don't worry.
Shot has won the coin toss.
He has deferred.
Yes, go ahead.
Okay.
I start with this.
And you can say it's an excuse, but it's just a dead, solid fact.
After the first couple of games, Victor Wimbanyama had all of his supporting cast fully healthy and fully locked in and fully loaded, especially for game seven.
While Shea Gildjus Alexander was playing without his second and third best player, some people thought it was Chet, but as you just pointed out, and you just pointed out, Chet just shrinks in the alien's presence.
and he's really good against the rest of the league
because he did make the All-Star team
and nobody quibbled with that that I heard.
He had 17 and 9 during the regular season
with two blocks a game,
but when he steps on the floor with that guy,
he's scared to death and it's hard to watch.
So if you take away Jalen Williams,
who I remind you made the All-Star team last year
and second team all defense,
and then you take away a kid who has become one of the,
their best defensive players who average 23 a game against LeBron and company as they swept
the Lakers in the previous round, A.J. Mitchell, if you take them both away, it's not a fair
fight. And it was stunning to me that Oklahoma City got it all the way to the fourth quarter
of game seven with SGA flying solo. Even in game seven, Chet disappears with four and four.
And Caruso, they're trying to make a star out of Caruso.
And in game seven, he falls back to Earth, as Kenyon probably would predict.
And he goes three of 14 and one of seven in game seven.
You got no chance.
And yet they did have chances.
And little Jared McCain, I know they picked him up and stole him at the trade deadline.
But just predictably, against the spurs, he shoots 28% from three.
So you're looking to him to be the third-string shooting guard,
and even he, especially in the fourth quarter of game seven,
he goes 0 for three from three,
while every shot the Spurs took seemed like it went in in the fourth quarter.
More power to the Spurs.
So the point was, in the fourth quarter of game seven,
Shea just doesn't have enough cold firepower.
And here's what happened in the fourth quarter.
his team started spitting the bit in the fourth quarter.
That's exactly what happened.
And the thunder started thundering in the fourth quarter.
That's what happened.
Because the thunder can turn you over like nobody can turn you over.
And all of a sudden, Stefan Castle in the fourth quarter is coughing it up all over the floor.
And has four turnovers in the fourth quarter.
That's what the thunder do to you, especially in that building.
And Dylan Harper, he starts to.
just spit it up all over the floor
and he has two turnovers. So they have six
turnovers in the fourth quarter and it's like
here they go, here they go, here they go.
And Wimby plays
center field on defense and he has to pick
somebody that he's going to say you can shoot it
whenever you want to. And this was Kaysen Wallace.
And Kays and Wallace stood out there
in the fourth quarter and just said, okay,
you're not going to come out here and guard me?
Well, guess what? You'd love
that. Yeah, for sure. Like, oh, really?
You're not even going to guard me, Wembe.
I'll just stand over here,
and I'll just shoot this like it's a free throw,
and he makes four threes,
and all of a sudden,
Oklahoma City's got a chance and a chance and a chance,
but here's the bottom line to the fourth quarter.
What did Oklahoma City do during the regular season
way, way, way better than any other team in the league?
They scored points off turnovers.
They smoked you with pot.
Boom!
They blow you off the floor.
Kaboom smoked you with pot.
What happened in the fourth quarter?
six turnovers. Guess how many points they scored off the six turnovers? How about a big zero?
They goose egged off the turnoff. What? They goose egged off the turnovers. They outscored the second
best team in points off turnover during the regular season by 234 points. And in the fourth quarter,
they score zero off to it's impossibly wrong. But they don't have Jalen and they don't have
AJ and they don't have Chet and they don't have Caruso. So it's ever.
SGA flying solo or bust, and they busted because they have you, they have you, they have you.
And the turning point of the game, six minutes left, Isaiah Hartenstein steals it from Dylan.
And he's off to the races, but he's seven feet tall and he's trying to do something that's kind of hard for a seven-foot guy to do,
and that's to dribble half the way down the floor and try to dunk it.
And coming from nowhere is your backup center, who you've told me you really like that you'd like to see him play more
minutes. Luke Cornett, where do you go to college? Do you remember? You don't remember. No? He went to
Vanderbilt University. Happens to be my alma mater. So I got did-in by my own alma mater guy who comes
from nowhere and to his credit, he did not give up on the play. And not only does he block the
shot, but he does not foul. And it's hard not to foul the seven-footer going in for the slam, right?
He doesn't foul him. So it could have been cut to three with an and one.
dunk, and instead, you go the other way, and Steph Castle, who can't shoot, just sits down
and makes a 15-footer, and I'm like, you're kidding, and it goes back to nine. Well, that's,
that's hard to overcome. Which brings me to the clutch player of the year. Shea Gilgis,
Alexander, led the league in every clutch category you want. Just name one, and he led it.
And he's having a really good game. And I said before the game, I posted a video.
I said he's going to have to score 40 to win this game.
4-0.
And with four minutes left, he's got 35.
That's pretty great.
And he had made six out of seven mid-range jump shots.
That's pretty great because nobody shoots it.
Maybe KD does.
But right now, it's SGA for mid-range.
He is really good, right?
That's his bread and his butter.
And he finally said, I'm going to do it this way against your defense.
that had been really hard on him.
35 points with 409 left when he made another step-back two-point jump shot.
From that point forward, the clutch player of the year manages to score zero more points.
And again, I'm being hard on him, but it's him or bust.
From that moment down the stretch, you got four minutes and nine seconds left of game seven in your house.
You have to score two more points or four more points.
you have to do something.
I'm being ultra hard on him.
But sometimes he's the alien.
Sometimes he is just unguaratable.
And I thought down the stretch he would be that.
And I believe he hit the mental, physical wall,
because they just wore his ass out.
They're playing football.
They're banging.
They're crashing.
He's getting hammered every play.
And he couldn't even get to the free throw line,
the free throw merchant,
over the last 409 of that game.
But with 123 left,
he has a step back three to cut it to three.
And I believe if that ball goes in,
you're not sitting up on my dead body over there.
That's what I believe.
If it goes in, I think that place erupts.
No pulse?
No, no.
I think you're sitting on the floor today
if that ball goes in
because the roof is going to be blown off that building
if that ball goes in.
But now,
he airballed. I'll be the first, I'll say it. He didn't create much space, and Castle got up into him, and he missed everything. And when that missed everything, I said, congratulations, Rashad. Congratulations, San Antonio Spurs. And all I know is in the fourth quarter, they made six out of 11 threes. That's hard to beat, because every time there was a point of no return for the Spurs, somebody, and it wasn't Wimby, Dom,
and he had 22 and 7, but he didn't scare me the whole game.
He had one block the whole game.
But somebody, Keldon Johnson made two big ones, and Fox made him,
and Dylan Harper stepped back at one point and shot his line drive three.
It gets like 10 feet off the ground.
It stays 10 feet and somehow swishes.
I don't know how he does it.
And they made every timely shot.
And I say, congratulations to you.
They did grow up right before your very eyes.
and yet I will conclude by saying
the thunder will be back
and I will bet you that going into next year
I will bet you the odds makers in Las Vegas
will have the Oklahoma City Thunder
as the favorites going into next year
want to bet
that's my spiel
and I'm still alive
I'm still kicking over here
then what's in that body back
shut up
shut up
Shut up
You had your chance
Shut up
Stop fucking moving
It's my turn
Ah
Contrary to belief
The one thing
We're not going to get is true credit
Shout out to the San Antonio Spurs
Doing the impossible
There was only a couple of us that really truly believe
believed
it's disclosure day
remember Skip
remember that
do I
you remember the alien
was a hoax
yeah
it was a hoax
it wasn't real
it's not a real
it seems like an alien
abduction to me
seemed like we went
and stole the show
stole the light
I think I'll start
with actually talking hoop
let's not talk about
who didn't show up
let's talk about
who did show up and why
you got seven
games is why I picked Spurs and Seven. Because in those seven games, you get to see two good
teams battle and go back and forth making adjustments in real time based on what's going good
and what's going bad. What went bad for the Oklahoma City Thunder in game seven is we had to
adjust to a team who plays one way. They depend on one guy. We made that adjustment. We're going to
let him do what he does best, which is score the ball and not share the brop.
He did have nine assists, but that's okay.
Who are you sharing it to?
You didn't share the chat, who's your third team all-MBA?
You didn't get him involved?
He was coughing.
Okay, let's talk about the other guys.
The other guys win you championships.
The other guys win you games.
Oh, Wimby, he played an okay game.
He's 22 and 7.
But the other guy showed up.
Why does the other guy show up?
Because the main guy has confidence in the other guy.
The main guy has confidence in his other guys.
He doesn't sit in the press conference and he doesn't say, well,
I never really got you involved.
I don't know how I would do that.
We've got to figure that out.
Now, we ain't got to do none of that.
Now, let's talk about Dylan Harper stepped up to the plate.
Stefan Castle stepped up to the plate.
Why was it so tough for SGA to be SGA?
It's because we made adjustments to make SGA work for every single shot.
It wasn't about who wasn't doing anything on the under.
It was about what we did defensively.
We didn't get no credit for actually crowding the paint,
making them dribble, making them shoot contested shots,
getting back in transition defense.
Why didn't you score off turnovers?
Because we went down and got stops.
Late game.
We know it's a game of wrong.
Runs. Fourth quarter. We know they're a good team. We're up 10. How do we keep the pace? How do we keep this lead? When they strike, we strike. We got to get a stop. We got to get the rebound. Luke Cornyett sprint back on defense and block that shit. You want to know how to punch a motherfucker in the face right after the tip off, you dunk on his fucking head.
There's a difference between you and I. I come from a man.
a place you could never come from. I was born in a place you could never really fathom.
Him. He's here. Now, as far as predictions, you know, we had this conversation where I actually
predicted all these things. Everybody was against me. I don't know why. Maybe it's my aura.
But it's not about me. It's about this culture of basketball that we talk. And the sports
media has been so flip-floppy with every game. Change here, change there.
Anytime I talk, everybody face gets scrunched up.
They can't wait for me to shut the fuck up.
But now I feel like this is my time to kind of balance the plates right now.
Right?
Can we get the tombstones in the chat, please?
Can we get the caskets in the chats, the full circles and all of those different moments?
Because we've been burping babies.
We're not tired.
They said we was going to be tired.
They said he was never going to get over the hump.
He's too young, giving him everything too early.
The real MVP is impressive in games
When you do things and you're like, damn, what is that?
Wow, look at that.
Look at that three.
Look at that dunk.
Look at this half-court buzzer-beater.
I didn't see that.
None of this series from the other side.
They were healthy.
But imagine you sweeping
Defensive Player of the Year.
First team, all defense.
First team, all NBA.
MVP.
Get to the finals, win the championship,
and get finals MVP.
There's only one guy who's ever done that.
He's too young, right?
It's too young to get all that accolades.
But look, we're going to make it happen.
And you can't avoid what I'm bringing to the table now.
I'm bringing to the table real hoop talk.
And I think everybody needs to start talking real hoop.
Because everybody's just making these, just because you play ball don't mean you know ball.
Just because you play ball, hey, we're not going to let the noise distract us from talking who.
You can talk, oh, man, this underdog and all this man.
Look, we're talking hoop.
We're here to talk hoop.
Don't avoid me.
None of y'all.
Let's talk hoop.
Whether it's spurs or nicks, I pick both, so it don't even matter.
I'm going to celebrate regardless.
Jeremy Sohan.
Don't even matter.
Getting a ring.
Don't even matter.
Don't even matter.
You pick both?
Don't even matter.
We got limbs.
We got caskets.
We got headstone.
for you, headstone for you, headstone for you, headstone for you, headstone for you, headstone
for you, I'm non-denomination.
We got headsthones.
I support LeBron and LeBron alone.
Everybody get a headstone.
That's mine, I land my plane for now.
I'd like to get cremated, if you will.
Spread my ashes over Staples Center.
Ken, when you think about everything that shot had to say in my prayer?
He lost me for, uh.
Yeah.
I forgot help where you, my...
Yeah.
Forget. Forget.
We could men in black it, I could just
shoot. I could just hit you with the t-t-titch.
After he was talking to hoop, he said we want to talk basketball first.
I was in, then all other shit.
My attention span ain't that long, bro.
That's unfortunate.
You could have learned something.
No, well, no, I was listening to the basketball hoop part, but then you lost me.
Could learn something.
No, I can't learn nothing to basketball part.
Probably was the burping babies that turned you off.
No, I was.
Check that way before then.
That usually what does it.
Check that way before then.
That boy ain't part of the conversation.
makes it mean that you ain't kind of part of conversation.
It's all good.
Just say, shy, you was right.
That's all I want to hear y'all niggins say.
Shai, you was right.
Yo, this part.
Somebody just texts me, I can't wait for him to shut the fuck up.
Yeah.
That's how y'all always feel when I'm on the show.
I can't wait for him to get off the show.
Okay, why don't you get this, nigga?
Where do you come from?
Right?
I'm not making it up.
I'm not making it up.
Somebody just text me, I can't wait for him to shut the fuck up.
Yeah, he's a hater too.
Whoever that is.
Whoever there is.
We know who haters are.
Hey, I'm just...
Him downstairs.
Yeah, him downstairs.
Surgical, clinical,
diabolical, psychological,
doctor.
Yeah, don't matter.
You're still going to be in surgery,
nigger, whether you like me talking or not.
Wait some more.
How do you feel about Wimby press conference?
Let's just get off...
Like my life depend on it?
You feel the same way?
Absolutely.
I'll die for this shit.
22 years old?
So when he wins?
Frenchmen.
Prevair croissants and baguettes.
Other fine culinary offerings.
But let's talk about just this series of Jones.
It'll be the eighth straight season.
That there'll be a new NBA champion.
We've no team has gone back to the finals
after prefecture thunder, a game away.
But when we look at this,
we talked about this early in the season
when the Thunder were putting belt to ask,
ask you guys if if the rivalry you said
can't be a robbery until they see each other in the playoffs.
Now we see them see each other in playoff seven game series.
Whatever series you want to make injuries, all that stuff.
Teams are impacted by injuries across the board.
That's just how it goes.
Thunder got a championship last year because of injuries, some would argue.
But did we just witness the birth of the NBA's next great rivalry?
I don't know if, is it a, they beat them what, eight times this year?
They won four, right?
Eight four this year?
Four and three when it mattered?
Well, overall, like, it might be.
Like, they, if they meet again in the playoffs, yeah.
Okay.
This should start it.
Okay.
This just started.
Absolutely.
This was the beginning of it.
I think so.
But if they continues to meet in the playoffs, whether it's first round, second
round conference finals, whatever it may be, then yes, absolutely.
But I think it's the start of it.
Yeah, no doubt about it.
Because the spurs want that.
Right.
The spurs want that action.
They won't prove to them to the O KC Thunder that they're better than them.
So whether.
The Thunder thinks so or not, I think the Spurs believe that it is.
It's hard to be a rivalry when one team get red carpet, you know, get the red carpet treatment.
Red carpet?
Yeah.
Which team's that?
Spurs, you know, I feel like.
So you don't think they just beat them?
Nah, I really don't, because I feel like you, it takes away the game, his game, too, as Shea at the end of the day.
When he was like trying to draw the files he normally get
Uh-huh
And they get none of them called
Because you got
They swallowed the whistle man
But that's what I'm saying
Like what superstar that happens to
That's what I'm saying
Like I feel like they just
Turned their back on shit
Like they didn't turn their back there
Back against Michael Jordan
They just stopped calling that bullshit
They just said get your ass off the floor
Swaggy
Get up
All that bullshit every time he shot the ball
He was getting foul
He was doing what?
He was getting that.
That's what they got a whistle.
So Shay wasn't getting fouled.
What was the free throws in the series?
What makes him not getting the foul?
It was pretty even.
Pretty fucking even.
Pretty, every game was pretty fucking even.
I don't know the exact number, but I thought it was pretty close.
Very close.
He got three fouls, three free throws in one game.
How are you going to get fouled if we're giving the ball out of your hands?
That never happened, though.
We're getting the ball out of your hands.
He had nine assists.
He has to give the ball up.
And when he did get the ball up, and when he did get the ball out,
He dribbling and taking step back three.
He's taking stepbacks.
He's got three free throws at all the whole season.
He didn't go to the rim.
He was doing his same thing.
How are you going to take away something that I'm good and I'm actually getting back?
Because it's not a foul.
Spurs 187 free throw attempts in the series, Thunder,
166 free throw attempts in the series.
Spurs average close to 27 to game Thunder.
Say that again, I didn't hear that.
When what?
Spurs had 187 free throw attempts.
And they had 160 something?
166 for the Thunder.
That's about right.
The Spurs is about 27 per game Thunder.
We got more aggressive guard.
No.
What do you mean?
No.
You got a bunch of-
aggressive.
Come on.
So you,
180 of those fri-thos are not Wimby or not Fox.
It's the complete-
It's not.
We got four guys that drive.
That's favorite.
People want to see.
They want to see Wimby.
You got one guy that drives to the lane, bro.
Fon Castle probably led the two.
Yeah.
Look how he was playing, though, too.
What about it?
Yeah, he planned that, but the way he plays.
He's a, he's a team.
He's not tackling the basket. He's not settling. He's not
He's not attacking shit. He's tacking shame
on defense too. But he's going to
the rim because they're not afraid of check.
On the other side,
them dudes pulling up because they're like that damn freak
down there. We talked. Because they got them
alien down and they're pulling up.
They're driven that motherfucking out to the bids
back out. Wimmy should file out most of the games.
He had a lot of them fouls, bro. He had a lot of games to
foul out. So Wimby had the most
attempt to Castle a second. Okay.
So Wimby had the most what?
Whimmy had 57 free throw attempts in the Western Conference Finals.
Castle had 46 attempts.
Let me give you.
What's Shay?
Shea, 65.
He had the most.
Yes.
He had the most, Swaggy.
So it would have been way more.
You wanted to be, you're just giving excuses.
No, it's three free throws.
Come on.
Come on.
Man's times he went to the hole.
At the highest usage rate, too, of anybody in the series.
The highest usage.
You know what that is?
It doesn't matter.
It does matter.
You have the ball in your hand the most of the time.
It's my game.
we just watched when he talked about flopping
they show Shay four times
nobody else like you can't tell me
to meet everybody against this man right now
and nobody against nothing he's the only one we see
followed on the floor without being
well my daughter to be nine years old saying
okay see got their own rules
you know it's the same thing we said about
Joel right that's what they talk about in the media
that's the narrative it's the same shit we said about Joy all right
when he was playing against
how many times you're going to hit the floor
many times like dude it can't like you ain't that
You seven foot 300 pounds
But then it's like B'Shea
He used to get in those calls right
So he was accustomed to
Rash's point
He's accustomed to playing a certain way
And them blowing the whistle
When he does those things right
And that changes your game
You have to
Because it's not a foul
No it's not
It's literally not a foul
It's a regular season foul
But that changes my
If I know I'm not gonna get a whistle
Because you manipulate me?
I've been doing the same move all year
Now you gotta go to your other move, Nick.
What's your counter?
If you're the MVP back-to-back.
If a guy's following me just to file me, you know, I can't, and I still don't get the phone.
Hear me out.
Hear me out.
Don't you have to have a-
thousand times?
Don't you have to have a counter, my nigga?
He got to, but his counter is the counter, the file.
So after.
I'm coming up.
I pull up.
You jump, running through my legs.
I can't live.
All right.
You're not getting that call.
What's your counter, man?
He kicking his feet out, too, trying to draw the file, Nick.
So that's the thing about it.
He's trying to,
manipulate them to blow the whistle.
Have the same thing for everybody else, though.
What was Wimby's counting for being bullied by Harkinson?
You can't make sure you pick on me, but have the same rules for everybody else.
What was Wemby's adjustment for Harkinstein doing what he was doing down there?
He shot three.
He shot threes and brought him outside.
He made them adjust to him.
He had to hit those shots.
He had to hit those shots.
He had 22 points.
How many freethos?
He had half his friqtoe.
I don't know.
It couldn't.
Maybe, maybe six.
maybe, but he hit
shots in order for them to
adjust their defense. Five for something
from the free throw throw. All right, I'm going to give you this
about the aliens defense
and I'm going to give you this about
Shea Gildjus Alexander.
As Kenyon was pointing out,
it's a lot of games. He played four out of the five
and the regular season did SGA. So he played
11 games against the Spurs.
They held him under
across the board, everything that he did during his back-to-back MVP year, every stats, down, down, down, down, except a cis. Sys went up. But I did not love what SGA said yesterday in his walkaway press conference. I'm going to read you quickly this quote that I did not love because it said a lot about what happened, especially in game seven. SGA said, there's a guy on their back line. And,
that's just different.
They funnel everything to that guy.
It's a really good defense, but it's not impossible to score.
It's just that it's very different.
Okay, now that's the back-to-back MVP admitting to me,
he's a little intimidated by that guy standing back there under that basket.
Should be.
Yeah, I got it.
But there comes a time when you have to try that guy,
a little bit more than you've tried him
because he never tried him
the whole freaking series.
Caruso.
The motherfucker had 12 blocks, didn't he?
The whole joint, right?
Okay, that was not against these guys,
but against the other ones.
In the series.
Okay.
He had 12 blocks in the game.
But I saw Caruso try him
four or five times during the series
where he just get up ahead of steam
and say, screw you, pal.
I'm coming.
I am coming.
And I'm going to dunk it on you
if you don't foul me.
And that's what happened.
and Caruso kept getting to the foul line
and would register fouls on the alien.
Hartnstein, he just not skilled enough
except for his little floater,
but he doesn't have enough
at the basket skill to get him in foul trouble.
But he's not afraid of him, obviously.
But down the stretch of game seven,
I pointed out, SGA did not score a point
over the last 409.
Twice he beat the double team
because he started to figure it out
where his handle is,
bar none, like it's the best in the league to me.
The handle to beat the double team, just to slither through it,
and it's Castle who's really good.
Remember we did our top five in the West one day after the show,
and I put Castle at number five,
and I think he thought I was crazy,
but he's just really good.
And these are the two best teams,
so I loaded up my top five with guys from Spurs and Thunder.
But Castle makes it hard on him,
and he's going to make it hard on Jalen Brunson, too,
because he's really good.
He's very physical and he's just tenacious.
And his heart, what's that?
I don't know.
Is he going to make it hard on Brunson?
Well, but he's really good at what he does.
He's got low base and he plays football.
He's just, he's a tough kid.
He keeps saying he plays football.
Okay, well, he just does.
He just does because they let him get away with him.
He plays great defense.
He does.
Okay.
He doesn't play great defense?
Hey, I like him.
I like him.
I like him. But they do.
I don't get away.
So SGA, down the stretch of that game, there were three times,
that he split the double and got into the lane.
And I'm like, he's got five fouls.
Just one time.
This is for the money.
You're pushing it to the middle of the table now.
This is for the finals.
This is it.
It's your house.
It's your team.
It's your time.
Just one time, try to go up into him as hard.
What do they always say about a shot blocker?
What do they say?
They probably said it about, you know, how to counteract you.
Get to the body.
Attack the body, right?
Get up into it.
Just.
who led the whole league
in shots at the rim?
Who took the most attempts
at the rim in the league?
It was SGA.
Not in this series he didn't
because he would take one look
and just like
Yeah.
Oh, no.
No, I can't do that.
Well, you can ask a guy like this,
the understanding of a big man
is the rule of verticality.
But I'm about to give you something.
So when I was in college, right, Skip.
There's a way to try him.
No, Skip, when I was in college,
just go up and turn into him
as hard as you can go.
They had a rule.
when we play UNC Charlotte
and we was playing them skip
if they got offensive rebound they couldn't shoot it
pass it out
do you know why
I'm controlling the paint
okay okay I got it
it's fear right
that man down there
it's a turnover
it's a turnover
they're looking at that and Shay like
all the points he scored during the regular season
all this all that
it's great
he got five foul
Shay of mine they ain't been calling this shit
they ain't been calling this shit
I'm calling it.
I have to throw it to my open guy that shoots three.
They ain't been calling it.
So the game online, I'm going to pull up.
I'm going to do some because they ain't been calling it.
And he got 5,000.
It's a greater chance that they ain't going to give him a fit
to get him out of the game at that point.
Unless I really, really, really sell it.
I got to sell it.
But there got to be something egregious.
It got to be one of them hacks.
Yeah, it got to be one of them.
But I don't think they're going to call it.
No, that's a conscious effort.
It's a conscious effort.
I'm going to try one time.
I'm just going to try to get it out of the game.
But you can't afford it though, Skip.
You got to think of time and score.
Time and score.
You're going to try him.
They got to get a good shot.
Rule of verticality.
He's smart enough to know.
Let me just go straight up.
I already know you want my body.
I know you want to attack me.
But I know that if we collapse, help the helper.
You got a guide us open over here.
You got eight assists.
You want to throw it to him.
We know this.
Yeah, that's a shit.
He might give you the lay up, though.
He might give you the lay.
And that's the thing.
For us, we don't know.
We don't know if Kenyon really is trying to block the shot.
We know in his head, he is more valuable on the floor than trying to get this block.
So he would give me one.
But I'm already here.
Wemby, I already hear what them do.
Yes.
Well, he is.
So now you're in that gray area.
Like, do I drive?
Do I pass it?
Do I shoot it?
Do I drive?
Do I pass?
Now the indecisement should come in.
Now you have seven seconds on the shot clock.
Now you've got to really go try to make a play.
Yes.
What do you have at that point, too?
Like, all right, do I have my mid-range with Castle behind me ready to block this little shot if I do shoot it?
Or do I throw it to Case in Wallace who's wide open or Lou Dort who's wide open?
They're not hitting.
Like, we're going to throw it to somebody.
But unfortunately, over the last four minutes, there were three times he beats the double, gets in the lane and starts to go up.
And then he just whirls in mid-air.
Like, I don't know what to do with the basketball.
I'll throw it to Caruso, who's one of six from three.
He's one of five.
and he bricks another one.
Or I'll kick it to Kenrich, will you?
Really?
You're going to kick it to Kinrich?
He took a big three with 18 seconds left.
They've been hitting.
Haven't they been hitting shots for you when you were winning?
You were applauding them.
That's what Shane.
He needs them guys to hit shots for them.
But that moment, I see what Skip's in.
That moment, put it on the rim.
Like, you get the pain.
You got two feet the pain.
I don't know.
Just one time I'm going to try him, and he never tried him.
Never tried him.
You know what?
In seven games, he never tried him.
And you can, you know, you probably could get embarrassed.
Well, a couple times he went through.
He dunked a couple earlier in the series.
Yeah, he did.
He didn't ask it after the end.
He wasn't afraid, even the one we've seen when he went through and dunked it two hands.
But to Whimmy's bread.
But there was no alien back there at that point.
No, he was there.
He was there.
He didn't care.
He was trailing.
He just, he was trailing.
He's dunked them.
Yeah, that's up.
If you're going to go, you got to go.
I hear your point getting into his body.
That's what guys do for shot blockers.
They jump.
to get into his bite. I get that.
But to Shea's defense
and everybody, like,
they don't know if they're going to blow it.
And we got to get a good shot.
I can't go in there and force this at the
rim under three minutes.
We got to get a quality of shot.
You got to get a quality shot right now.
Every time now. And if he's going in there getting two feet
in the pain and kicking it out to open three,
that's the way we've played all season and all series.
That's the thing. I got to trust those guys to make
shots now. So that's where the,
where the crew goes, Alex was
One for five, one for six at that point.
It don't matter.
All that take is one, too.
All that take is one.
And you know that if he's already been hitting, he had 30, then he had 20,
we know he's capable of bailing us out.
We need this.
But a spade a spade, man.
Like, if they get anything from Chet or more than one of them start,
they got, listen, three starters scored a total of 13 points between the three of them, man.
And to women's credit, he didn't.
Go for none of the puffs like she did in the paint.
That's like when Shay gets there, he said with you.
It's a different ball game.
It's a different ball game.
But I hear, I hear that point.
Imagine Cheggie gives you 10 points.
You got a fourth.
10.
What you're saying?
Cheat got a fourth.
But we're talking about imagining it, right?
10 points.
We could say Chet give us something, right?
But we talk, I'm talking about the defense that they was playing on the whole team,
the swarming, getting out to the shooters, being able to just have a body in front.
Like, Chet didn't have no opportunity.
He didn't run nothing for Chet.
They didn't have nothing for him.
Chet was giving that ball up.
He wasn't even.
He got the, listen.
Chepp was giving that ball back.
McCain.
They did.
When he came in, they ran him, they ran him.
But when he came in, they went to the, wait.
That ball back.
Yeah, but he went to the midi.
Make up his.
For sure.
But they went to him.
He went to him.
He didn't run 20 plays for him.
They won't.
No, not that one game.
No, not that one game.
Yeah.
A few sets when they run them off the screens and all that.
Yeah.
Those are, they're going to them.
I'm just saying, but the other plays,
within the, when the ball is coming your way, Chad,
and you got, and you,
and then you go to double end up.
Remember,
having that ball back.
No, no, no.
The whole course of the season,
we've been playing like this,
and I've been getting my scoring
out of us moving the ball
and me being able to get the mismatch.
Now, we are switching this.
We're switching here,
switching here, switching here,
with Wimby down here ready to go.
So how is Chet going to get his shit off
if you don't have no plays for him?
You need to,
who?
target, we need to get Chet involved.
And then Chet's mentality is, I'll go as SGA goes.
He gets me involved, I'm thankful.
Well, then that's on Dagdaw too, so.
That's why they asked Chubh.
That's why they ask him.
When Wimby go out the game, that's when you go out.
Yes, hey, immediately.
You run plays for him, you get him a few looks when the man go out the game.
Get him going.
So, at the third point, though, Chet Chet 13.
After the end, I'm just saying, you are all right.
Not because he's going to get his
user.
Not because he's going to go.
That's the point I made.
You're an all-star.
You can't get the ball and be looking to give it up so fast.
You don't want to look at the way.
But that's how he gets his shot.
If I get it and give it up, set a screen, and pop, I got my open shot.
Or I'm rolling to the basket.
But we're switching everything, so now you have nothing.
Check can't move.
Check can't do nothing.
At a certain point, go, hey, once again, I'm going to go to,
we play my nets, we play in the spurs and the finals.
Yep.
I went down swinging
three for 23
everybody in the comments
I always don't remind me
I went three for 23 in the finals
yeah I went three for 23 in the finals
absolutely
not one 23
I got 23 fucking shot that's right
not one for two
not yeah yeah you're saying
three for 23 I didn't give
hey listen the next one going in
hey the next one going
give me a shot
the next one going in the next one going in
he passed up on three points
I made two of my first three shots of the game.
Okay, just for point of order.
Shoot it.
Chet at the garden this year against the Knicks.
He made six threes, and they won the game.
They beat the Knicks, swept him for three straight years.
Yeah.
And Chet shot it a little, one percentage point better from three this year
than Wimby shot it from three.
So he's pretty good.
He's 36%.
You know, you would think in this series, he'd make a few.
He made three and seven games.
and in game seven, to your point,
I don't know how many times he car it.
And it's like,
oh, let me hand it off.
And can't you, you could just look in a man's eyes?
He just looked scared to death to me.
I mean, I felt for the kid, like I wanted him out of the way.
Just let him go put him on the-
Listen, man, he was averaging 15 and whatever,
seven when they gave him that $2.50?
17 and 9.
What I'm saying?
I said, this thing.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He signed that last.
Yeah, last.
That's true.
That's true.
Yeah.
All right.
Fuck that.
You're making top dollar.
Yeah.
It's just wrong.
No, you don't get it.
You don't get the luxury of muff being that person.
No.
And we be laying you know what it is.
He did.
Hitting you bumping you.
This is a look in the mirror.
It ain't no, and letting the whole team now.
Letting the world know.
Y'all some unethical bumps.
You said that did not.
Chet did not shrink to no one else in the NBA.
Not anybody else.
Except for this guy.
He outplays Joker.
Every time they play, I swear to you, he's had a little advantage over Joker.
So, let's contribute Chet's downfall to be at the hands of the real MVP.
At the hands of the real MVP.
I think you saw the real MVP in game seven score 35.
But he lost.
Yeah.
He lost.
Yeah.
So when you lose and you have to,
answer questions about getting your third team all-NBA teammate involved and you don't have the answer.
Like that doesn't contribute you to being the most valuable player on the team that's going to take them over the top.
To me, I look at the other guy and I say he's going to talk to his teammates in that huddle with a frown on his face,
telling them, hey, we got to get this done.
It's now or nothing.
All.
All. Give it all.
Okay.
And then they all come out and do what?
they deliver with confidence.
Chet did have no confidence, not from his team, not from his coach.
Even the fucking crowd didn't even seem like they were confident every time he caught the ball.
You have to give certain guys confidence.
You got to know who you got.
That's scouting report.
Who do we got on our floor?
Just like Jaden Durlin.
You got to give him a pep talk.
He came out.
He showed.
This ain't no pep talk time.
This is now and never.
This is game set.
You cannot have four points.
You cannot have two shots.
But you cannot sit there and say, hey, listen, we did not play defense.
to stop all of y'all.
We wanted to stop all of y'all.
And we made shots.
We did what we supposed to.
Deeran Fox, shout out Deeran Fox.
He showed up in big moments to be the leader of that team.
He did.
And to show them to calm down.
Give me the ball.
Let me dribble it up.
We don't need no more turnovers like we did in the fourth with those four
turnovers from Castle.
But that's a part of the game.
The game of runs, speed them up.
Let's get our runs.
We still got three referees on our side.
All we got to do is do it we need to do to get the ball back.
SGA was ready for the moment.
It's just that it wasn't his moment.
It's our time now.
It was Wimby's moment.
Wimby named Western Conference Finals MVP.
The average 27 points 11 rebounds, three blocks, 1.4 steals, 48, 40, 90 splits.
Only player ever with 150 plus points, 75 plus rebounds, 50 plus made free throws, 15 plus 3s, 15 plus plus blocks, and 10 plus steals over any seven game span, regular season or playoffs.
youngest conference finals MVP,
youngest defensive player of the year
on the unanimous selection,
youngest player with both first team,
all NBA,
and all defensive selections.
So, Shad, I ask you,
you've maintained for a while
that you think Wimby,
best player in the league,
has Wimby cemented himself
as the new face
of the National Basketball Association?
Yeah, man, according to swag, you know.
Anthony Edwards was the guy,
Jason Tatum was the guy,
and you had Steph and you had LeBron.
I mean, for an international guy to come in and really just show the world that his talent is on a different level.
And there's no shade to anybody else in the league, but he does it on both sides of the floor.
To see the way he shot the ball in game seven with confidence reminding me of Steph at seven foot five.
Be able to hit those shots with confidence when you needed it.
It was like we were watching that game pins and needles.
And I think as a game seven, you can't get any more.
entertaining than that for the NBA. I think as a culture we should embrace the fact that this was an
amazing Western Conference finals. To go seven against a rival that on a number one team and the number two
team hitting it up and then Wimby and Chet having a rivalry and then Castle having a real understanding
that this is really my challenge to stop SGA. Like you can't you can't write the story any better
and to beat them on their home floor on the road no need. No doubt.
nuns in the building, none of that. No drum. No none of that. There was one nun in the building,
Chet. He was a nun, right? He was a nun, big nun. I'm blaming it on you, Skip. It's you. You
the ones went over there. You went over there from over here. And they're looking at you like,
why are you over here now? It was all Skip Baylitz's fault. My fault. And he don't want to
admit that he picked the wrong team. He's going to stand in his grade. He's going to stand in his grade.
in the cemetery begging for light.
And there's no dirt that I'm going to dig off of his grave
to make sure he can breathe straight.
He's gonna die on this hill, we gonna let him die.
Shout out Sister Mary Clarence, my favorite none.
Yeah.
Oh, happy day.
Yeah, shout out Jalen Williams and A.J. Mitchell,
because when they get healthy, you're gonna be in trouble.
Yeah, man, they said the same thing with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irvin.
Yeah.
You were talking earlier about losing your safety,
Second and third, I thought about LeBron 2015.
I don't remember if you put that on your list of failures, but.
Yeah.
No, I don't think no decision.
Chet is a guy that right now.
They can't pay everybody.
You're going to move, Chet?
They're going to have to do.
13tham all-N-Bee.
They got some decisions to make, I'm telling you.
I think everybody John.
Him and Jalen both are getting 41?
No.
Him and Kendra Perkins saying you're going to move them
and you should move them because of the moment and all these things.
There's a lot of guys shrunk in the moment this year.
Don't just jump to the conclusion and just be like, move them.
No, I'm just think that they're.
They got, they, because Hardinstein.
They got some issues.
They got some money issues.
We're going to dive deeper to the thunder.
They got money issues.
They got a lot of pigs to the sun.
So let me say about women young.
So.
This year.
Here's the alien that I saw over seven games because I got to see him under fire.
Because Oklahoma City plays pretty good defense.
And their plan for him was at times pretty good.
because they had some runs against him,
that game three at San Antonio,
they went on a run and won 123 to 93 after being down 15 to nothing.
So it struck me during game seven.
He sees himself as a two-guard.
And I'm not sure that's ever going to change,
where he didn't hurt Oklahoma City on pick and roll,
lob dunks.
He'd get a couple of games.
game because he's going to, he can dunk it standing still, you know, with his feet on the floor,
he can dunk it. So he's going to get a couple of those. But the point is, he's at his happiest,
just, they just flip it to him, you know, kind of be on the elbow a little bit, and he catches it,
and then he turns and faces, and he wants to do this. You know, that, that's what he, that's who he is.
When he looks in the mirror, he sees that. I'm a two guard, and I want to do this, and I'm at my happiest,
when I'm making threes.
And I've never seen anything quite like that
because I think we can all agree.
He's the tallest two guard we have ever seen by about a foot, right?
And yet on the defensive end,
he does get great joy out of blocking shots.
And they're not like make you eat it kind of blocks.
They're just out of nowhere he just swoops and blocks it.
And you're like, well, that's unfair.
You know, like, we can't, to your point,
where you start to go up and you just say,
it's just, he's just too long.
I mean, I can't, I, there's nothing I can do
to get this ball up over him.
Hartnstein made a couple of floaters where I said,
I don't even know how he did that.
Yeah.
Because he had to launch it so high,
the degree of difficulty of the ball actually finding the cup
was extreme.
And so you've got a guy
who sees himself as a two guard, who mostly plays two guard,
and you don't know how to defend him because do you put Caruso and Doord on him?
Or do you put Ardenstein on him?
Because he can't hurt you some in the paint, but not all that much.
He's mostly going to shoot threes or jumpers.
Well, the 41 points he had was on the office of rebounds,
is you putting the little guy on these?
And we now can get the rebound and throw right back off you.
Now you've got to make adjustments.
You put a bigger guy on me, tell him to be physical.
Let me bring him outside.
He got a guard to three.
Now it opens us up for offensive rebounding for our guard.
But even in game seven, they put the other Jalen on him.
He's like 16-ish maybe.
And he did a nice job.
He hung right in there with him.
He kept going for every pump fink.
Yeah, he was going for the pump fay.
And he was fouling.
He was fouling on the shot.
Okay, but he hung in there with him, and it was okay.
It wasn't like a mismatch to me.
But on the defensive end, he creates one huge mismatch.
and he was the reason
that the back-to-back MVP
didn't take over the games.
All right?
That shit is going to change next series.
Next series, they got their full team.
They can't play at the same year.
Let me go see how you play against a full team.
Guess who don't play defense on their side?
All Anthony Towns does not play defense.
Well, they're going to be on the perimeter,
so they're going to put Nogh on there.
That's what I'm thinking.
They could.
But OG don't play defense like Caruso or Dort.
All-N-B-A.
But second team, all,
The NBA defense.
The style of the defense, OG don't play the tough ah, ah, ah.
He move his feet, he stay in front, but he's not physical.
He played defense like Koal-Lennan.
Yeah, a little bit, but that's different from Caruso and Dorr.
Yeah, I'm sorry, but I'm physical with you.
That's all you got to do.
But yeah, I know we're going to get to it, but I'm saying, now, they're going to have to play a different next series because he can't be roaming.
I can tell you that shit.
Well, let's hit the Thunder real quick and then we'll shift to the NBA Finals preview.
So Thunder started season 24 and 1.
dealt with injuries to key players like Jaylon Williams and Isaiah Hardenstein during the regular season and postseason in Jayla Williams case.
Still finished first in the West for the third straight season, swept the sons in the first round, beat the Lakers in the minimum amount of games needed in the second round.
And despite being down two of their top four playoff scores for most of this series and getting an underwhelming performance from All-MBA Big Manchette, Homer,
and the rest of his supporting cast were still able to stretch a series of seven games.
So in his end of season interview Sunday, SHA was asked how.
he would measure this season and had this response.
It was a failure.
Like I failed at my goal.
Like I didn't achieve when I wanted to achieve.
Um, but through my experiences, I learned the most about myself and I make the, the, like, greatest
amount of increases I have in my, my career when I fail at my goal and don't get what I want.
And I look at this no different.
I didn't get where I wanted to go this season.
There's a reason for that.
Now I have to look at that reason
and try to make sure it never happened to him.
That man looking like he just got out of rehab.
In the Western Conference Finals,
She averaged 26 points, nine assists,
shot 41% from the field,
29% from distance.
His field goal percentage,
the lowest field goal percentage
by an MVP in the Western Conference Final Series
since 1956.
So Swaggy, would you agree?
with SJA saying the Thunder season was a failure?
He didn't say the Thunder season.
Or his person.
Yeah.
Well, it's tough to say because you still stay number one without, you know, your argument will be pipping.
You know, Jay Duff was hurt for pretty much the whole season coming in and out,
and that can mess with a team, you know, because AJ balling, then you get to start back
and everybody got to go back into, you know, different roles.
But to play through all that, I would say it was a success, you know.
You're going in there against the Spurs and the Western Conference Finals.
Your lineup is Shay, Wallace, Caruso, and Hockstein.
Lou Dork, you still have?
Oh, Lou Dork, yeah.
But these are guys, like, I would say it's like the same.
team Brown had against Houston, you know, the same situation.
Then you still went to a seven, you know, so you got to give Shays credit for sure.
Still, MVP still tried through double teams and made the best out of it.
So I think that'll be back, you know.
Can you, do you disagree with SGA saying this season was a failure?
By his assessment, he was trying to get another championship, or at least make it back to the finals, give himself a chance.
Had a decent regular season.
Like I said, we all know they got off to a blazing start.
But yeah, if his goal is to be champion again, then yeah, by his assessment, it's a failure.
Whether it was injury, whether it was a better team, whatever the case may be, he looked at as a failure.
so who am I to tell him different, right?
It's, you go out to compete to win
and he feels that he came up short.
He didn't lead his team, him being MVP,
him being the two-time MVP,
he feels he didn't do enough
to lead his team back to the promised land.
So in his eyes and his soul, it's a failure.
And he didn't get no excuses.
Yeah, yeah, so whatever it is,
he said he has to look at whatever
for whatever those reasons are, those failures are.
his words, he has to look in the mirror.
He has to go back to the drawing board
and try to get better.
What that looks like, I don't know.
You've averaged over 30 the last three years.
It's one up each year.
Maybe averaging more assists, maybe being a better player.
I don't know what it looks like for him.
But if he feels that way, then more power to him
that he feels he needs to get better.
You know, that's what you want out of your stars
and out of your best players.
You want them to always strive to,
to want to get better.
So yeah, let's see what that looks like next year.
Also said that he was going to trust Sam Presti
with all personnel decisions, said he would have no input
in any offseason moves on the Thunderside.
Skip, when you hear SGA,
saying the season was a failure.
I loved it.
I would have been very disappointed
if he had said anything but that.
He won a championship last year,
and he was the main reason for that championship.
He went back to back.
MVP's and deserve both of them. And now it's just all about the championship. And I think he would tell you he needed to play just a little bigger, a little longer that he did go the last four minutes without scoring a point. And he knows that. And he knows that they gave him a lot of problems for the whole year. For all 11 games he played against them. And so it's a failure because he allowed
you and them to rise up and feel like they now own the league.
And I do agree in principle with what you're saying.
This is what the league wanted.
This is what the networks wanted.
This is the finals.
The networks wanted that.
God do.
God wanted this final job.
They can't leave him out.
He didn't what made it.
American God or French God or both?
Just the universal.
It's a unity thing.
No diversity.
It's unity.
We are united.
The point is, the league does not like the thunder.
They just don't, they're boring to most people.
He's the foul market, he's falling flopping, blah, blah, blah.
I've heard it for three years.
They just don't like them.
They don't rate, they don't sell, and now they got what they wanted.
And, yeah, I agree the refs swallowed their whistle,
because swallowing whistle in game seven,
is advantage spurs.
It just is.
You can call it both ways
by not calling it both ways.
You can just let them play.
That's big advantage spurs.
So trust me,
the league is ecstatic with this.
And trust me,
that guy you just saw up there.
Man, he contradicted himself over there.
Bitter as them all.
Hell yeah, man.
You've been getting a whistle all season long.
That's been the discourse all years.
Thunder get to play as physical as they want.
You get the whistle a year.
Yeah, they got cool.
All of us.
sudden you don't get the whistle and it's like the
lead guys the way you want to all season long
and now people do it to you and it's
come on come on the league is despised
second and free throw attempts next to Luca
yeah next to Luca okay these are two
guys who get the whistle yeah because
he creates the whistle and deserves
the whistle yes what he didn't do yeah
he don't deserve it didn't do it
yeah you do if no you got to go do it
yeah I mean they will reward you if they know
they have to know that you'll go make
those free throws. That's a big deal to those
referees. You can laugh at that if we want
that's a truth. Tell him about the
refs. He's a 90% free throws.
Tell him about the rest. When you are
aggressive, they reward you with the whistle.
So he's not aggressive? He was not
aggressive. We were taking a ball
out of his hands. That's what the double team was for.
Play on the backside. You
are not going to be a
time. Do you know who
the guy sitting above Mitch Johnson is?
Do you know.
Okay, that guy went to the fucking locker room and said, listen, y'all playing like punks.
You need to play like this.
Next thing you know, the adjustments were made.
They keyed in on the one guy who could beat them.
They took the ball out of his hands.
They rotated strong.
They went to the backside and boxed out, got rebounds, and went down on the other end.
It's simple hoop.
When you understand that, it's not about how many fouls you got.
It's about what we're doing to stop fouling you.
Play defense without fouling.
Okay.
I'm just going to say this one last time.
Jalen Williams last year in the run to the championship,
he had 34 points in one game against Denver,
and he had a 40-point game in game five of the NBA finals last year.
That's how explosive a score he is.
And to get to within three and three late of game seven,
it's just extraordinary.
It's about that guy, even without getting to the rim,
he got that team with Caruso's and little Jared McCain's and Dort going five of 25 for three.
You know, just nobody's.
He got them to the brink.
You're sweating in the fourth quarter because you think they're going to do it again.
Maybe.
Okay.
Maybe what happened.
That's like just saying like if Jason Tatum was healthy, the Boston Celtics would get past the team.
You're talking about every little thing that you can inject and say, but guess what?
That's what world we don't live in.
We don't live in the if we're.
Yeah.
We live in a it was written in the book world.
This is what happened.
He tells me this all the time.
You could say what could have happened, but what did happen.
What is actually happening?
All right.
We win.
Not one time today, if I heard you say, you know what, we were a little lucky that they didn't have Jalen Williams and AJ.
I haven't heard that one come out of your mouth one time.
Because you don't control the basketball guys and how injuries affect the game of basketball.
You have to be the next thing.
You can control it by calling the calls.
That's like saying Indiana Pacers beat the fucking SGA in them because Halliburton goes down.
So do we have to take down like, oh, man, if Holliburton don't go down, they win.
But guess what happened?
That's what happened.
It did not happen.
It did not happen.
Now, you're saying Jalen Williams was that's such of a game breaker.
Why didn't he play?
He played, then he couldn't play.
I'm saying we picking and choose to say when they deserve foul, when she deserve fouls.
I don't think they deserve shit.
So you played on a team with AI.
Did he get calls?
He didn't.
I don't think you deserve shit.
But the AI can call.
That's like, damn, me, get filed.
Call the blow the whistle when the dude get filed.
If you're trying to, if you are trying to manipulate the game,
I don't think you deserve it.
Did AI get calls off of that too?
You got foul?
Did they get calls?
Did they deliver out?
They told me manipulate foul?
But when they do it, it ain't like, oh shit, man.
They kept the rank get down.
They didn't fall in the floor trying to get you to blow the whistle.
So they're playing through contact.
He's playing through contact.
Come on, man.
He ain't looking at the reps
begging for the whistle.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
No, Chuck got up.
Chuck got up, ran down the floor.
You can't tell me all.
They ain't begging for the whistle.
Definitely not begging for the whistle.
Listen, call the stuff that you should call.
You think who get it from.
Call the stuff you do.
Lou got the foul, babe, from AI.
No, no, no, no.
Yes, you can't.
The referees had a whole agenda against the AI
to not call out for him.
They didn't like it.
They had a whole thing.
Tim Donner, he said.
They did not like Chuck.
But they can.
They like Chuck.
But they didn't like Chuck.
But they like Chuck.
Yeah, they don't, they didn't like Chuck.
So we could use that for Chuck, but not Shay.
But they didn't like him.
You, what are you talking about?
It's a known fact.
It's a no fact.
No fact.
They didn't like him.
The referee that was cheating game said we literally don't call fouls for Alan Iverson.
Tonight we're not calling fouls.
And it's so.
This is a fact.
They didn't like this man.
Reto's AI average.
Give me one second, Swacky.
Yeah, he's reaching.
Yeah, he's reaching like a motherfucker.
How about reaching?
It's the truth.
You ain't like superstars don't get fouled.
Black and mine waiting on you, boy.
Kobe got foul?
He foul-bated all the time.
Really?
Because that's what Gilding them said on the other podcast.
He wanted to come on here and say it.
He said that Kobe Bryant was foul-bait?
Huh?
What is a pump-fake?
What?
What?
To get you using him and position?
Out of defensive position.
A pump-fake, pump-fate to get you out of defensive position.
so I can get a better shot.
It's a foul baby?
No.
Not if you don't foul me.
You're baiting a person when you're thinking like you should.
No, I'm baiting on you to use your human nature against you.
That's not the same thing.
No, bro.
Because if you don't foul me, I got a good shot.
I still got a good shot.
And your momentum carries you into me to push me and make me fat.
That's not the same thing.
I'm not falling on the ground, Nick.
That is.
I'm not falling on the ground, Nick.
Nick, that is.
I'm not.
That's all the way.
That's one play.
Come on.
He stops on a dime and why.
And he got them calls.
He got those.
All year long.
Not against the spurs.
They didn't do it.
Jump up and down.
What's the rule of verticality, bro?
Jump up, don't run into his body.
What are you talking about?
They just played the perfect defense on them.
I get it.
No, they listen.
Damn near close.
Okay.
So just hear me out, Nick.
Let's hear me out.
If he didn't try to sell it as much, he probably would get more.
For sure.
For sure.
Because if you're trying to manipulate me into blowing the whistle,
I'm going to be reluctant to blow it.
Get up.
You're falling every single shot.
So you know what went through it?
So just hear me out.
James is doing, James Hartman doing the same shit, right?
And what did they start doing?
They stopped blowing that fucking whistle, man, because they...
No, they changed it from not a shot of frito.
But they could still easy blow the whistle on some of that shit.
They just stopped blowing a whistle on a lot of them going through you trying to get.
Because you're trying to do now.
They know what you're trying to do now.
They got a large sample size now.
It's not a natural shooting motion though, Nick.
But you're still falling for it, though.
That's the thing.
Why are you not feeling for me for you for your stupid?
But I'm not falling for it every time.
If I'm not falling for it every time.
You get me once or twice.
The third, fourth, fifth time that you're trying to do it, the reps are catching on.
They're like, that's, hey, look, we got you the first two.
now you're trying.
But they change the rule.
It's not a free throw no more, though.
Of course it's not,
because everybody started doing it.
Everybody started trying to bait fouls.
Like, if you learn, like, play through contact, bro.
Like, that's what they,
that's what you always been taught, right?
Play through contact.
But also, if they blow the whistle,
they blow the whistle.
Everybody go, hey, everybody do that.
If you're getting foul.
Yes.
If you're actually getting foul,
hey, come on, rough, that's a foul, right?
But if you're not getting foul, you're manipulating the game.
Ah, hey.
Every time they die, you, you fight.
You know that you hate that shit.
With any motherfuckin is just like,
I'm gonna fire you for real.
You got to.
Now I'm gonna fire you for real.
And I'm gonna try to make you feel this foul.
I've seen it though.
Every time you, I play with Lou.
That's why I seen Lou get them crowd.
They both lighting their ass.
I wish I could get them.
They both, because you, but you, you play the audience.
You played the phone.
You play ball, Nick.
And you're two-thirty.
You're solid, bro.
And if you did that, we were looking at you like, Nick, stop doing that, bro.
Same thing.
If you're 165 pounds, if you're 165 pounds, all they got to do is they don't take much.
That's what I'm saying.
They don't take much, right?
He's light.
But you're not.
That's why you wouldn't do it and you don't get the cause.
But why are we penalizing him for being light?
Because he got to do that.
No, he got to do that because he's like, because if we're guarding him and he feels any
resistance from our defense.
He know he can't get around us.
We're too strong. We're too solid.
He has to manipulate the
ref in order to get an advantage over
us. Get this motherfucker off me.
Get him off me. He got to get two. I got to get two on him
quick. Get him off me, please.
That's the only way I got a chance against him.
That's the advantage of little people, though.
Don't they always do that? Now it's even.
We're not calling that because it's not a foul.
Yeah, I just don't.
Like, of all the times that he hit the ground,
If you give him half of them, that's still a lot.
He don't shoot 20 free throws a game, though.
That's what he bases.
15.
12, 15.
Regular season, should 12.
11.
Was it 10 11?
11.
11.
11.
11.
12.
He had 7 field goals for 32 points.
He made 16 out of 17 free throws.
He was going on, bro.
Shay 3rd in his league, 9 attempts per game during the regular season.
That's correct.
He's a lot.
Yeah.
So.
He averaged 30.
31.
31 again.
Nine attempts.
That's only nine points out.
That's, he's getting buckets, though.
That's what I'm saying.
He's like, all 30 is that.
That's it is.
Eight out of nine a night.
He's making seven, eight, and nine a night.
You're still putting the ball in the basket, man.
That's what I'm saying.
But it ain't 30 a game, though.
He painted the picture, like, it's all fast.
Like, he's shooting 30 feet, though.
But when you look at it in total,
once you look at it in the playoff series, right?
just look at it in a playoff series format
when you put a compilation together
of game by game right
game how many times he failed this game
how many times he felled this game how many more actual
files right yeah the next game how many times
did he fall how many were actual files
third game how many times did he fall
how many were actual file when you do it game by game
like that it looks horrible
when people break it down and you actually
man he fell 37 times in five games
you're like yo why are you
you don't need to fall you good enough not to
have to fall.
That all the time.
That's the difference of what we're saying.
We're not saying that he don't got game.
I'm saying he's way better than that.
That's my thing.
He's way better than to have to foul.
You got a bear the land too, though.
Hey, you know what's horrible to me is trying to watch
Luca Donchich play basketball.
Because every single call, non-call, everyone, he just turns the referee and he's like,
he does.
He does.
I don't see that.
She doesn't do that.
She doesn't do that.
It's the equivalent of falling on the floor.
That's exactly what it is.
It's the equivalent of you falling on the floor.
Instead of doing this, you're on the floor.
When he doesn't get the fall, he gets up and runs.
Okay, cool.
That's the difference.
That's the difference because he knows it ain't up and run.
Because in his mind, you know what, if it was bad enough, he would have more to say.
If it was a real actual file, he thought he got fired, he would have more to sell.
He would have more to say about.
And he'll get a tape.
I ain't saying he would get a tech.
He would have more to say about the plays.
actually thought somebody took his legs out upon him.
He's not going to let it die the next possession, right?
On the next dead ball, you're going to see him come, hey, going over and have something
to say about it.
Luga not going to let it go no matter what.
He's going to bitch when he gets foul, no foul, bitch down here, bitch down here.
So that's just the, but with Shay, it's, it's manipulation.
Who should get treated worse then if somebody bitch over something and one gets back and run
on defense, but he's the main focus of foul.
What you just said about him falling is equivalent to him bitching.
So if I fall, it's almost a slight to the referee because I'm on the floor and he says like, I'm on the floor because he fouled me.
Yeah.
That's what he's saying.
He's like, bro, what are you going to let him?
He's not staying on the ground.
I let's see he just.
No, and not about being down here.
Because his coached man, something different.
Yeah, I'm about saying.
And he got something different.
And it's internal.
What happens when you get knocked to the ground, right?
The referee is looking like, oh, how did he get down there?
The player is like, he pushed me down here.
I got fouled.
I'm on the ground.
Luca don't go to the ground.
Luca will get fouled and be like, hey, that's a foul every time.
So him not getting back, him complaining to the reps is equivalent to being on the floor at all.
Just like, yo.
He just ran to the ground.
What started happening against the Spurs to SGA,
he started falling because he got knocked down and not get the call.
Because they just said, we're not going to call that in it.
That's what I'm saying.
How you get treated like that?
And they didn't call it.
But guess what was happening on that thing?
And they could call the shit on the other end.
They was not calling the shit on the other.
They could call the same shit for women.
They let more foul.
Man, how many times this man, Hartstein,
hell that man in one game they didn't call?
Someone with the whole jersey.
Whimmy got every call.
Whimby got every call now.
Big man gets found way more.
Wimmy got every call.
He got every call.
Big man get fired way more.
They didn't miss a foul.
Shott.
Would you say that Wemby was foulbading in game seven?
Or did he play?
You see, when he ran, he fell?
What about what Wimby fell?
I'll say when the one game Wemby did foul bait was when he had the 12 for 12 free throws.
Okay.
When he played back, he had the 12 free throws.
When he failed, he had to get those free throws.
The biggest motherfucker.
in history fell on the floor.
Did he get foul when he, uh, when he hit his face and he was out for the game and
get some players?
He's dumb.
He clumsy.
Okay.
So did he get a foul though?
Did he get a ejecting when he elbowed somebody and clapped and cured?
Did he get foul when he fell on the floor and he got tripped and he fucking passed out?
Did he fucking passed out?
He did not get fouled.
He did not.
He didn't get foul.
That's because he clumsy.
He's stupid.
Okay.
So he clumsy and he's stupid.
Guess who else is clumsy and stupid?
No, no, no.
Shade, Gil, Chris Alexander.
Get your.
clumsy ass off the floor.
It's so clumsy
ass off the floor. His feet was at the
baseline. Yeah. He was at the free throw
line. That's two falls we talk about.
We're talking about two falls, right?
Did you see how he fell? Yeah. You see
how she fall? It's
crickets for that, though. I can do it
but you can. But you can do it ten times.
I can do it too. It doesn't. You still go in the same
energy. You still get the foul, though.
Two times.
Last thing for we move on to our finals
preview, Thunder have some decisions to make this
offseason, like we mentioned, Chet's, $240 million.
And Jaylon.
Extension kicks in.
Jaylon Williams, extension kicks in.
O.KC. has team options on Lou Dorton, Isaiah Hartenstein,
and Caseman Wallace eligible for a rookie extension.
Have two first-round picks in this draft.
We'll be well into the second apron next season,
barring some moves to free up some bread.
So, Skip, I'll ask you first.
As our resident Thunder fan, wearing your OKC hat proudly,
despite them getting put in a pack.
Do the Thunders need to make a major move this offseason
or run it back with this court group?
I think they should mostly run it back,
but now we get back to the owner of the Thunder,
Clay Bennett, who I remind you once upon a time,
had Durant and Westbrook and Hardin
and said, I ain't paying Hardin
and let him go to Houston, and the rest is history.
So they've got the options, as Josiah points out.
I think it's for 29 and 18 on Hartenstein and Dort.
And Dort said yesterday,
I want to
retire a thunder
and it ain't happening.
Who said that?
Do you're going to have to do it at a discount,
my brother.
Like a big discount.
And pay the country boys nothing.
So I'm going to guess
he will not be a thunder next year.
The problem with the whole idea.
Caruso, Caruso making 19 19 next year.
He does.
Caruso under contract through 2029.
Yeah, he is.
But to your point about Chet,
I got you.
everything you said is so you've got to look in the mirror.
But when you look in the mirror, he doesn't see anything.
You know, it's empty, right?
I big it.
Like, that's the problem.
You can't teach that, coach that.
Whatever you add, I can't pour that into Chad.
But I know against Denver and the Lakers and name them in the West, Houston, whoever it is, he's pretty good.
And he does change games, not like your guy does, but he's always second in the league in blocks.
Well, that's hard to find.
You just can't snap your fingers and say, let's be second.
And there were sometimes against San Antonio, even in game seven, when, I forget who he blocked at the rim,
but he had a couple of blocks at the rim where I said, oh, that's not bad.
Because he's 7-1, and he jumps a little bit.
He's not a flat-footed seven-footer.
He's got a little spring to him.
And against everybody else, he's a 36% three-point shooter.
So I know they're on the hook for a ton of money that he did not back up over these seven games.
It was embarrassing.
And he should be ashamed of himself.
But they're going to sit back and say, yeah, but we were the one seed in the whole tournament in part because of him.
In part, because we did have that.
So, again, do you trade him?
Do you see?
They're stocked with DREP.
It's not like they need to reload.
you know, they got 12 and 17 in the draft.
Did they want to pay that?
But they then, if they do do it,
they put them at $80 million.
Then Clay Bennett's going to have to pay the luck.
Or do they want to package that to try to move up to top three to five?
They got a rookie deal still.
A.J. Mitchell on it.
On a rookie.
How much is he, how much he got to pay?
AJ is like three more years.
You got to pay.
No, I'm talking about the luxury.
Three for eight, right?
The tax.
Just ask eight on to it.
They, if they, as constructive,
if they bring everybody back now with Hardinstein,
Doort, then that number is outrageous.
We got AJ Mitchell two for six over the next year,
team option than last year.
So we get rid of those essential pieces and we bring in these draft picks.
Yeah, then it will be more solid.
You can go get you a 24 year old.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm thinking.
We keep the four three and you're getting rid of Hardinstein and Lou Dork.
Yes.
Yes.
That's 28 men and 18 men.
You can't afford to plan.
But you can replace those.
I can't replace.
I can't.
Yes, you can.
The kid Jaylon Williams on the contract, he ain't making that much.
And what did
It's hard
What did Harkinson
He was battling
He's got an email coming next year
He's got a lot of extra rebounds
He's Luke Corrinette
He was putting a team option
He was putting a body on
Luke Corvette
Yeah
It's all good
That's pretty good
But Luke don't get
Harkinstein
All team options
But hey
The beauty
So the beauty about all them contracts is
They all team options
Is the craziest
Yeah
Right
All the people we name it
All nobody has
Even a player option
Even a player option
For this summer
Hardenstallel.
I think all of the guys to get picked up.
Everything is a team option.
Everybody.
All them guys will get picked up.
They can find a way they wiggle through it.
Not from them.
I know.
I'm just saying.
If they let go Dort.
Unless they take a major pay cut.
Check on from.
Team option, I'm saying.
They won't have to,
they won't pick up
Hardinstein's $28 million.
That's what I'm saying.
They won't pick up Dorts 18 million.
Are you like Arkansas?
So if you take, yes.
Unless he take a major pay cut.
Let him walk.
Like, when I say
made from 28 to like four.
I know, but he was there you.
I can't let him go.
I mean, Chet, if you're Chad by himself, that's-
I can't-all-not.
Why not?
It's hard-not average of 10 rebounds?
They still number one, bro.
They still was number one.
I can't let him go.
You're not giving them 28?
Yes.
It's not giving Lou Doord to 18 next year.
No, I can't do it.
They went to-hand.
Average 9-9.
Yeah.
$2 million, 9-9-9-9-9-4-6-6-6?
$9.
$28 million?
$28 million?
No, I can't.
No, I pass.
I pass.
For a Cameron Boozer?
That's been the discussion about trying to get into it.
He's not going to be 12.
Cameron Boozer over a Harkinstein.
Trade 12, 17.
How are you getting to get it?
I'm about to say he's not about to be 12.17.
Trade up.
You trade 12, 17, some of your other picks you've got cash for the next few years
to try to get into that top three to five range to be able to get Cam.
Harkinstein is an enforcer for.
I don't care what you say.
If I'm a team, I don't get them.
He's a what?
An enforcer, he is.
He's not a fucking chance.
He is.
He is.
There's nothing with Hartinstein.
He play hard.
He plays hard.
He gets offensive rebound.
Don't confuse the two.
Okay, but who else is there?
Because you play hard don't mean you're an enforcer.
I said it's their enforcer.
No, he's not that.
Okay, then who is it?
No.
Nobody?
Lou Dort.
Lou Dort is an enforcer for sure.
For their team.
He's the guy that makes you say, oh, shit.
For that team, it's Lou Dort.
Oh, shit.
Man, I see Hardinstein coming.
man, no.
He's a foul.
He's going to foul you.
No.
You know he's here to foul.
But Harkis-I and this area is, yeah.
No.
He brings a level of tough.
Yeah, he does.
Yeah, you can't say that.
He plays hard.
I get it.
And playing hard and being tough and being an enforcer.
You got Chet 150 pounds.
You got Hartnstein who has to bring the pounds.
And I don't give a fuck how much he weighed.
Like, what's y'all?
Like, that's a difference, man, than an enforcer.
When you take in the game and if somebody had played hard.
Well, you're checking the game and if you enforcer.
Every team he'd been.
Look, we did it with the Knicks.
Look, we did it over here.
That's why they gave him an enforcer.
He played hard.
He got offensive.
He played hard.
He didn't foul hard.
Mitchell Robinson.
It's Mitchell Robinson enforcer.
Is Mr. Robinson enforcer?
Is Mitchell Robinson enforcer?
Is Mitchell Robinson and enforcer?
Is Mitchell Robinson and enforcer?
Do you think Mitchell Robinson and fucking...
Answer the question.
Do you think Mitchell Robinson is a...
No.
It's the same fucking player.
No.
No.
No, no, no.
Yes.
And Mr. Robinson.
They actually blocked shots.
Mitchell actually block shots.
They're the same person.
They play hard.
That's why they had to get rid of one or the other.
They couldn't keep both of them.
They play hard.
You could be enforcer without being a bully, though.
No, who?
You can be enforced by just touching somebody, holding somebody.
You don't have to sock somebody or put somebody and scare somebody.
Name somebody.
You can't force your will on somebody by just being strong and always touching somebody
and moving somebody after the way.
Yes, you can.
You think Ben Wallace was an enforcer?
Oh, God.
Yes.
Of course.
So you look at Hartstein in that regard?
You think in Harkistan is like a fucking bin?
You think Jaden, Dern, what are his name?
Not an enforcer.
Do you think, Isaiah Stewart is an enforcer?
Yes.
Very much, though.
When he comes in the game, you're like, ah, shit.
If you just see him on the street.
Between who?
Dern or Adelaire Stewart.
As far as being an enforcer?
Give me Stewart.
Stewart, for sure.
When he takes in, you got to look over your shoulder.
Or average two blocks a game,
and you know what he's going to do.
I'm not confused with fighting.
No.
I'm putting the fighting over to the left.
The fighting is separate.
The way you play the game between the 94-50.
When you check in, when that shit go and you look over there, you're like, ah, shit.
That number one.
They're in.
They don't do that for Hardin's God?
No.
Hell.
What was they?
If he was in a force, he wouldn't have to do all that nasty, tech.
Dude, he was doing the way he was doing.
Yeah, he wouldn't have to do all that.
A lighter shade of skinned it.
He wouldn't have to do all that.
If he was an enforcer, motherfuckering, wouldn't be coming that.
motherfucker, he put this in this goddamn checks.
Right away.
Put this shit in the checks.
They got them they won the championship.
What they got to do with anything, Nick?
That's changed.
He plays hard.
You didn't win it until you got me.
That has nothing to do it enforcer though, Nick.
You're talking.
You'll be moving the goal for no reason.
We got like 14 minutes.
For no reason.
It is.
It is.
It is.
You're not.
You're lacking like a force that just got to beat somebody up.
No, we're not.
We got a hard.
and forcing the actual position you play.
When I enter the game, you know that there's a boundary here when I'm in the game.
There's a boundary.
When Harkinstein comes in, the one thing you have to do is box him out.
He starts.
You have to box him out.
He tips the shit out.
You have to box him out.
Other than that, he's not going to hit you in the mouth.
Okay, but you can't say Lou Dord is an enforcer because he's not all enough.
But that team doesn't have to be.
He's not.
He's not.
He's not.
Ron Artesse?
Was Ron Artesse an enforcer?
Yes.
Yes.
He was a bad.
He was a bad team.
Yeah, but he was 6-8-2-40.
He was in a forcer.
He got down and dirty.
But Ludoort 6-3, you can't, you're not afraid of Ludo.
You're probably not afraid anybody.
Right?
But my point is, if Luthor was 6-10, you'd be afraid of him.
You'd be.
The Utah Jazz team that had Darren Williams, Boozer,
Matt Harp and Carol Lincoln
who was the enforce on that team?
Which which you talk you
Mimit O'Corps, Matt Harpon,
Caroling Coe, not Carl Malone
No no boozer and Darren Williams
The years were there with Jerry
Before Jerry left
Matt Harper
Matt Harper was the Boozer
1,000%
He would run into you
He would get foul, he played hard, he did everything
Now his daughter is really good
Matt Harper
And then I would go Carolinko after that
because Carolinco
I know Kierman enforcing his way as far how he played.
He wasn't know, I'm going to knock you out,
but he would do some dirty shit to make you be like,
I don't like playing against this motherfucker right here, man.
Yeah, I just don't look at.
Okay, the problem with Lou Doord is he can't enforce at all
on the offensive end.
I don't know what I understand, except when he's out there doing these.
That's cool.
He can hit it.
You know, and I'm going like, what are you doing, man?
And he's five of 25 from three against your team?
Brian Grant.
Enforcer.
Brian Grant
Portland Trailblazers
Miami Heat
Miami Heat
New York Knicks
Number 14
What was his name
Anthony Mason
Yeah
Charles Oakley was
For sure
The Anthony
Antonio Davis and
Rick Mahone
But y'all going off
PJ Brown
PJ Brown
You're going off of being people up
They didn't
be anybody up
Oakley, yes.
Who Ben beat up?
Who?
Who Ben Wallace beat up?
Shit, the Madison and the Palace happened?
No, he didn't beat nobody up.
He was going to.
He tried to. No, he didn't.
Well, fuck out.
No.
Yes, he choked him in his, listen, this is how shit go, right?
This is what an enforcer is, right?
Ron Artes pushed Ben Wallace in his chest.
Well, Ben Wallace pushed him.
Ben Wallace pushed Ron.
Ron went instead on the score.
Over there.
Ron is an enforcer.
for the Indiana patient.
With the headset on.
This enforcer made that enforcer over there.
Because if he wanted, he would have, listen.
You said Jalen Derrenfielsen?
Isaiah Stewart is more of an enforcer than Jalen Durden.
I once saw him chase LeBron across the floor.
Oh, so, okay, so y'all was Draymond Green enforcers?
Yes, he's an enforcer.
He's still in.
David West?
Yes.
Enforcer.
Yes.
Don't play with me.
Zibo?
All people that just took people out.
Who?
fight nobody.
They set in the boundary, bro.
Who did they fight?
Who did they fight?
Man, choke somebody.
Who did they?
Draymond, the only person on record that we know to punch somebody.
Facts.
Charles Oakley, yes.
I'm saying, but that was a motherfucker.
That was before the game.
Everybody, you, I just Stewart, Charles Oakley,
Draymond Green.
All your name is people that punched motherfucker.
And we gave them five, six, seven, eight other people that didn't
touch nobody.
Anthony Mason?
Anthony Mason.
Anthony Mason.
He didn't.
Knock, motherfucker.
Come on, man.
stop.
That he did.
Who?
man
who
so you
Dennis Robby
right
huh
you didn't punch
punch people
oh yeah
I don't remember any punches
early on
he was punching
nigga Detroit
you do it
you don't got it
to keep doing it
they know now
that's the
that sets
the balance
yeah my second year
yeah
second third year
it was
yeah
I got fired
what the one year
I lost
350 thousand
$370 in fines
hard files
when you know
somebody's gonna
hard foul
you're thinking
twice
about going in there
He's going to foul hard.
He's a hard fowler.
That's an important.
Come in here if you want to.
Jack was an enforcer.
Oh, was he?
God.
Come in here if you want to.
I wish you would.
Let's see.
All right, well, we've got 14 minutes.
Wait, is, is Wimby and enforcer to you?
13 minutes.
What was, what was, what was the sign being as a center?
As top 15 right now.
Who?
Top 15 center?
Top 15 center.
Top 20 in the NBA.
Yeah, because it's not a hard to be.
That's what I'm saying.
It's not hard to be a top 20 center in this end yet.
That's what I'm saying.
What's you're saying?
You got to.
The best of the best.
Who?
He's not hard to be.
Arkansas is the best of the best?
He's not hard to be.
No.
After you go with me and.
Give me Khalil where?
What?
Bail.
Oh, man.
Give me Khalil where.
Probably not better than Brooke Lopez, bro.
At this current moment, no.
See, come on.
See, come on.
See, look at the face.
Look at the face.
average 20 in game.
Hey, K-Barr.
Right now.
Hey, Mark.
Hey, Mark.
Can't shoot a three.
I'm saying right now.
And block shots.
And block shots.
Not back then.
Right now.
Brooke Lopez can hit you 12 points on threes
and he can go down there
and block three shots of game.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
Give me all upset.
At this particular point this year,
Brooks Turner.
That's all of him.
Miles Turner.
Give me Hartman.
That's all I'm saying.
That's all of saying, bro.
Man, Tom about
Mount Sterner play free throw line to free throw line.
Thank you.
That's all I'm saying, bro.
Three shots a game.
The lead is not a big man,
he still plays real defense.
That's all of thing.
He contributes on both sides of the floor.
And man, with blouses.
I'm not giving you no.
I'm not giving you top 15
because you play hard.
Who name?
15?
You just said Lopez, no.
We have 12 minutes, according to Kenyon.
Martin, so let's look ahead
to the NBA finals.
Got a hard out.
Nicks and Spurs meet for the first time
since 1999.
It was New York's last finals appearance.
Squads also met back in December
for the NBA Cup championship.
That's what they're wounded.
With the Knicks getting that win
as Wimby was still on a minute's restriction.
Team split the season's series
with the Knicks getting a 25-point win
in their last meeting on March 1st,
which snapped the Spurs
11-game winning streak
after the squad went underfeated
the entire month of February.
Spurs got 60 wins for the first time
since 2017,
where the beneficiaries of some major injuries
to opposing squads
in making this finals run
similar to the Thunder last year.
Contacts is everything.
New York has been on a historic run this postseason
against what many considered to be a weak Eastern conference.
They're plus 271 point different to this playoffs,
highest by any team in a single postseason
before playing in the NBA finals.
And despite winning 11 straight games,
including sweeps against the Sixers and the Cavs,
Knicks enter the finals as underdogs.
Let's go around the couch.
Really quickly, skip.
We'll start with you.
What is one key matchup you're looking for
in game one of the NBA finals?
You know, it's funny.
I look at these three games, the Knicks and Spurs played,
and Wimby had a hard time in all three games.
Oh, shit, here we go.
And Wimby at Madison Square Garden in his career now is 0 and 3,
and he's 7 of 27 from 3, which is not usually the case.
It's 26%.
So he hadn't shot the ball.
He must not like the shooting background there or something.
And I look at the Cup game.
game and Mitchell Robinson had 15 rebounds in that game, 10 of them offensive rebounds against
Wimby, who was pretty quiet in that game with 18 points and seven rebounds. He just didn't do
much. And the Knicks just took over the fourth quarter. And to me, I don't, I don't care
about the individual matchups as much as I care about. We've got kind of a weird,
rock, paper, scissors thing going with these three teams, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, and New York,
in that the Knicks are going to come in very confident against the Spurs because they
almost beat him on New Year's Eve in San Antonio. It went to the wires, 134, 132. They averaged
123 a game in those three games, so they're not afraid of the Spurs. Like the Thunder were a little
afraid of the Spurs because they'd kick their asses four out of five times. And they're
And then if the Thunder had somehow survived to the finals, they've swept the Knicks for three
straight years.
So they feel very confident, as did the odds makers, of Thunder versus Nix, because the Thunder
were going to be prohibited favorites.
And San Antonio is not that strong of a favorite.
So to me, I just think there's a big psychological advantage from the regular season for the NICs,
who obviously caught fire in the postseason
like we've never seen anybody catch fire,
albeit against the East, as you point out.
But I think the Knicks are going to come in
extremely confident in this series,
more confident than the Thunder were against the Spurs.
Swaggy, one match we're looking forward to
in game one of the NBA finals,
tipping off Wednesday.
Well, I don't know.
I just say the whole team.
I'm just glad that,
everybody's healthy in New York.
I'm looking forward to more to the city to see their reaction, first time in the finals.
I want to see it's Bronson, you know, I'm ready for Bronson to be the star of New York, for sure.
Bronson and the football player matchup, that's what I want to say.
Yep.
I shifted over this side, Kenyon.
What key matchup you're looking forward to, game one of the NBA finals?
Oh, the Wembe and Cat matchup?
Yeah.
Yeah, I just want to see how they're going to play it.
Being that Cat plays on the perimeter, he's a very good three-point shooter.
Winby Can't Roan.
He has to play him honest on the defensive end, so I want to see how that's going to go.
And how Jalen Brunson adjusts to having Kowsell in his pocket the whole night, the whole series.
So that, but more of the big guys, seeing, seeing who they're going to put on Wemby on the other end,
how they're going to try to hide Cat if they can defensively, putting O'GN and OB on Wemby.
But ultimately, the cat in Wemby matchup is most intriguing to me.
How about yourself?
I think I'm getting this right as far as the stat, stat man, stat man.
28 and 13 is what in Wemby averaged?
Against the Spurs this season?
Against the Knicks?
I guess the Knicks.
If I'm looking at it correctly.
I've got 25 and 11 in three games.
Three games.
In the two games, it was 20 and 13.
NBA Cup does not count on an actual game,
but it was actually played in Las Vegas.
Yeah, it doesn't seem like a bad stat line
for a guy goes in New York and does that kind of stuff.
So I'm not going to penalize his performances.
He always rises to the occasion.
So I'm going to say Brunson Castle is going to be,
the match up.
Brunson Castle would be the matchup.
The one thing we had to do is neutralize
the guy who's the fire starter for them.
He's Mr. Fireman.
So we need to make sure he doesn't do
what he does best. I think
we can depend on Kat trying to be able
to be Kat. I think he'll try to rise to the
moment. But these are both of my team
so it doesn't matter. At the end of the day
he doesn't get a ring either way. It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
It was written.
I'm going straight from the survival
Scrolls. Do you know what these is? Basic instructions before leaving Earth.
Right here. Right here. Yeah. It was written. It was written. We know what this going to do. It's going to end up with me celebrating at the end of the day.
Oh, I thought you were going to leave it. Yeah. I don't know. No spurs. Can we get a finals prediction from you, shot? No spurs. For the series start. Yeah, no spurs. Finals prediction. You have to pick a side. You getting a ring either way. Got to pick a side? You getting a ring either way?
No, he didn't.
Do you betray Wimby and going to Nick?
He got off New York.
Don't let him do that.
Don't let him get, he got off New York.
He's not New York.
Has the thumb up to Tudy?
No, no, you got off New York.
I'm Brunson.
I am the guy who said Brunson can win the championship as the 1A guy.
I think.
You was Philly, I think.
Yeah, but just as far as players and represent the players.
The thumb up the time.
I'm not going to let you say both your team.
Jalen Brunson brought balance back to the force avoiding the thumb in the Eastern Conference.
Why I can't.
No.
Because you said you're done with New York and you said your new team is Philly.
So stick with the spurs.
You can't jump back on them because both my teams is in, yeah.
Both my teams.
No, my motherfucker.
You said.
Who your team?
Your team was Minnesota.
My guy got hurt.
Yeah, I get it.
Your team was Minnesota, right?
Yeah.
Guess what we did to your team.
What you need to another her team?
French toast.
French fries.
French kissing on food.
French division.
Waiting for that.
Okay.
You have a finals prediction.
I'm going Spurs and Seven.
Spurs and Seven.
Shows' Final's prediction.
Make sure you note that.
If it happens, another full circle moment
that came with one of you.
NBA Finals prediction.
Nix's currently the underdog.
Woo-woo.
I'm going Knicks, man.
How many games, I don't know.
It's going to be a good series,
a good long, tough series, but I'm going to go next.
Can you go with the Knicks?
Swaggy, let's move over to you.
I'm going to the parade in New York.
Be out there.
Parade in New York?
You'll be with the Knicks fans
or you'll be watching the Spurs parade?
With New York.
I'm going to New York and...
Go to New York.
How much did the Spurs beat them back in a day with Patriot Union?
What was that series?
Tim Duncan first year.
They won in six?
I believe they won in five games.
Knicks and five?
I'll go Knicks and six.
I mean, I'll go Knicks and six.
Last one, not least.
NBA finals prediction.
Let's see if you can get out of the body bag, put shot in one of those.
Yeah.
Well, I woke up this morning thinking Spurs and Seven, but I can't take this guy anymore.
So, you know, I just...
That was easy.
Yeah.
The double combo.
Remember, the NBA came from.
more money from New York. Yeah, I think so too. This is going to be hard for your Spurs. So I'm also
going to go Nix, and I think the unsung hero of this will be the guy Wimby guards. I think
Josh Hart's going to have a big series. That's what I think. Because it will be guarded by Wimby.
That's crazy. You just did that. I like what you did there. Okay. I like what you did there.
So I'm also going to go Knicks in six just because of Rashad.
And I'm going to climb out of that body bag.
Thank you.
And happy birthday.
If your shot head consumes you,
we have two minutes left, Kenyon, two minute warning.
Yeah, I got a lot of shit going on over here.
Let's make it happen.
