Gil's Arena - Bronny James COOKING Summer League FIRES UP Gil's Arena

Episode Date: July 15, 2025

Bronny James COOKING In Summer League FIRES UP Gil's Arena as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena Crew react to Bronny's best game of the Summer and break down how the 55th overall pick is finally starti...ng to look like an NBA Pro. They dissect why the young King looks more comfortable on the court and debate if the 20 year old deserves an opportunity to be part of the Los Angeles Lakers rotation this season. Next, they whip around NBA Summer League to analyze the rest of the prospects lighting up Las Vegas including the San Antonio Spurs' terrifying duo of Dylan Harper & Carter Bryant, breakout star for the Portland Trailblazers Yang Hansen and the potential dunk of the year candidate in Johnny Furphy. Next, they react to the hostile social media battle between Angel Reese & Robert Griffen III as the former Heisman winning quarterback turned ESPN Media personality inserted himself into the conversation surrounding Reese and amplified a racist dialogue under the guise of speaking out for black athletes. They give their thoughts on the entire situation and praise Angel for balling in the WNBA amidst constant scrutiny that has nothing to do with her game. Finally they react to some NBA news like the rumors swirling that Jayson Tatum is recruiting Damian Lillard to join his Boston Celtics, Paul George has undergone another surgery before the Philadelphia 76ers season even starts and Bol Bol still remains as an NBA free agent ready to make an impact for a contender. Did you see it come out? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He took me back. They were in the back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He took me back so bad.
Starting point is 00:03:56 It's going to be a wild day here in the arena. Last but not least, representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd University, Mr. B. Brandon Jennings. Leading in heavily to this golf. Brandon was high over here though. Showing that real ones can hit the golf course. You got the glove in your back pocket as well. Yeah, man. I think I'm the best golf player on this couch.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Is that Tough Crowds, sir? Yeah. Oh. That's right. No, no, no. The funny part is he did play on this golf. Went out to play golf, fell in love with it. He's been doing it every day.
Starting point is 00:04:22 I seen his ass. Every day. Yeah, I didn't know he was up there. I seen the whole Tough Crowd out there. Fell in love with it. He's been doing it every day You found your hobby yeah, not for you much better swing than LeBron I will say that for sure Are you better than that side of the cow? Yeah for sure easy. Oh, we will hit the golf course on to get out the house. Are you better than that side of the cow? Yeah, for sure. Easy. Oh, we will. We will hit the golf course soon to find out. Yeah, I see. But you know that already for all the fans out there. We still got two going out just for your traditional version, mobile vertical version Pickle chair. When you want to watch, just make sure you support the show. Here's what's cracking in the arena today.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Ronnie James came through with his best game of the summer league season. Has he proven he deserves an opportunity to crack the Lakers rotation next season Bronny out there doing it looking better than their first round pick for 2024. I hear cooking game very aggressive. LeBron has been at both the last two games Bronny has put on shows.
Starting point is 00:05:20 He said the first round pick. Don't the connect little bit older the connect. Little bit older. Little bit older. Little bit demelanated. But nonetheless, we would've stuck. We're not throwing dirt on our Lakers right now. Not at all. Uplifting.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Connect. Connect for West Side Connect Gang. Connect right now. BB Bang. But it's still preseason. Shout out to the West Side Connect Gang. We got shit on Connect. No, we not.
Starting point is 00:05:43 No, not at all. Not at all. I'm done. Because as soon as I gave him some positivity. He ain't never gave him connect a shit on connect. No, we know not at all not at all I'm done cuz I soon as I gave him some positivity He never gave him dumped on somebody no soon as I let you know what I Can't throw dirt on this man name. Let me go as soon as they did. Let me go connect. He dumped it Not in this replays after that Did not do God tested me. Okay, he tested the fate. That's your face and I fail Okay, he tested the feet. That's your face and I fail The Sixers injury issues aren't showing signs of improvement with in beats still not clear to return to the court and PG undergoing knee surgery
Starting point is 00:06:17 Is the process? B still hasn't returned to all court activities PG just had PG just had, I think, a knee situation in the workout. Had knee surgery. Knee surgery. Not looking good over there in Philly. And Jason Tatum is actively recruiting Dame Lillard to the Celtics with Dame Khan. Didn't you see that yesterday? Be a good fit in Boston.
Starting point is 00:06:37 We hit that lightly yesterday. We're gonna go in depth today. Obviously both dealing with Achilles injuries. But once they're both back healthy, that could be an interesting combo right there But before we get all that as always this show is brought to you by underdog download the app Use promo code Gil get up to a thousand dollars of bonus cash plus a special pick them and we're back with another crew pack for today So as a reminder each member of our gilder and accrue has submitted a pick them that we are combining to create our very own
Starting point is 00:07:01 Partner pack on the underdog app will tally up the individual picks. The guy with the highest percentage of accurate picks will receive a large sum of underdog bread before we take our summer hiatus this week. So we have the leaderboard updates for you. Kenyon leads with nine of 10 correct so far. Gil right there in second with eight of 10. Rashad has seven of 10. Brandon has six of 10.
Starting point is 00:07:21 There's no way Gil. I thought you lost yesterday. They say, the chat, did y'all lie to me? I thought Kenyan lost. No, I thought Kenyan lost yesterday. How did Rashaad catch up? He won, they had me all hyped on the thing last night. It's K-Bow, so he won, no matter what.
Starting point is 00:07:37 I thought the 21 and a half, they didn't, he didn't 21 and a half in the verse. Whatever, we had to give him an X. He said he won, he won, okay. All right. So I'm like, mind him, and Casey's watching. Hey, Casey. I thought... Brandi, you have six... Oh, you're talking about the home run. Yeah. He had a first... first... first up back. Oh, in the home run derby? 21 and a half. Oh, that's up for y'all. You're an underdog and you're guys, but Brandi had six of them correct. Swag of your pick yesterday,
Starting point is 00:08:02 Kelsey Plumb doesn't play until tonight, so you're still at six of nine. But you will catch a better. What you got Kelsey Plumb doing? I think I'm going to have points to read about you. Angel Reese. I got two picks today. Y'all had baseball. He had Angel Reese.
Starting point is 00:08:16 I got to have two picks today. Okay. Yep. You got Kelsey Plumb. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yeah, no, he did have Angel Reese because we didn't put it up there.
Starting point is 00:08:24 So let's take a look at today's picks if we can please. Palo my good man. Alright so Brandon you got Aaron Judge higher.5 hits. Kenyon has Shohei Otani higher.5 hits. Gil you have Azrae Stevens higher 7.5 rebounds. Swaggy you got Rob Dillingham aka Rob Dilly higher 16.5 points. And Rashad has Paul Schien schemes higher 1.5 strikeouts Mo be awesome. Hey, so they're at point five that hit that just hit the ball, right?
Starting point is 00:08:54 If you get a hit and get on base and it's not a base it there's one base it in all start in the all-star game As long as it's not an error. Wait, the sparks are playing the best all-star game. Yes Exactly they're facing the best pitchers on MLB so, you know both them they hit the home run. Yes You know cuz that's all it is. It's just basically Okay, and I was a give me if you use this partner pack, which is like you can win up to 31 times your bread We asked the chat if they're riding or fading with the cruise picks for tonight. 52% of the chat is riding with this partner pack. So if you really about that life chat,
Starting point is 00:09:30 go on over to underdog, add that crew partner pack. If you don't have underdog, download the app, use promo code, get up to $1,000 in bonus cash plus a special pick them. And if you can't watch the show live, what's on YouTube, we have audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts. So summer league in full swing.
Starting point is 00:09:45 No, I'm sorry. Uh-oh. No, Kelsey plays for the Sparks. She don't play for Vegas no more. She not play for the Asians? Yeah, that's why you didn't see Asia. Yeah. They don't.
Starting point is 00:09:55 What happened? Oh, you're looking for Asia, though? No. 2025. He was looking for Asia. Oh, huh. Cause he did Kelsey, but she'd be with the Sparks off season.
Starting point is 00:10:04 It is confusing, the LAS for the LAS. Yeah, it was LAS. That's LAS. That is the abbreviation for the Las Vegas Airport. LVA. No! But it's LAS for LA Spark. But you had a good pick. No, but Kelsey's still a good pick. So I guess okay, we're gonna give you a pass on that one. But we got NBA Summer League action in full swing so we got to talk about a situation that
Starting point is 00:10:27 went down. Pacers took Johnny Furphy in the second round last year. I'm about to tell you a second year guard made a big splash with what might just be the best highlight of Summer League so far. Let's take a look. Johnny Furphy. Oh that was nasty. Oh boom! Nasty. Looking like another 12. No. That was nasty. The lighter skinned version of him.
Starting point is 00:10:50 So with the Tennessee Waterfall in the back. So Ferfee threw it down over Bulls Ricky Noah Sangwe with a vicious slam. We're gonna take a couple more looks at this. We gotta stop the crime in Chicago. We gotta stop the violence. So. I don't know. I don't either. Paxer's second year guard, Johnny Furphy, rocking the 12th.
Starting point is 00:11:09 That was nasty. In the mullet. Paxer's social media department also took time to put the stills of the dunk out there and these are unfavorable to Noah and his family so we apologize for that but we have to show them because this is his gills reading presented by underdog woo woo. So that's one. Not that bad. You can bad you can see you know he really trying to get there Kind of protect the rim You see the full extension of fur free as well, it's a good one But let's see the next one because this one is a little bit more damaging to his reputation
Starting point is 00:11:51 Some of us have made that face before No, we haven't. No, that's not the situation. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 00:12:03 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, That's the face. Not from that, though. When your girl's desk. I'm going to tell you. When you stick it in the wrong hole. Oh, I wasn't going there. Nah, man. Yeah, I wasn't going there. Oh, no. I was not going there. Not that.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Ladies and gentlemen, as a reminder, Underdog does not support the viewers of Express on this show. Wrong hole. The viewers of Express are not those of our employer. I cannot. I know. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:12:19 I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. underdog The viewers express are not those of our employer I cannot Listen, I'll just be on you got to fight that nigga now now. You shouldn't even be in Chicago right now. Just dry to any
Starting point is 00:12:41 No, you got to put the hands up you can't you can't be in the NBA though Why don't white crime? At least it's summer. You can't recover. No. This is the only image that's going to live forever. You getting cooked? This is it? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, until the season.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Then you got to come back. No. No. You got to come back. That's going to be on T-shirts. That's done. Yeah, you done. You done.
Starting point is 00:13:00 That photo will live forever. You can only go fight them. That's nothing, man. Burpee from Australia. They're going to put that on the Australian Forever Star. That photo will live you only you can only go fight them They're gonna put that on the Australian forever Our teammates gonna look at it if you don't look at him now So that feel How they looking at him now? Black. That's a fair one. Just move out the way. Show us on that field. That is slavery. The white man back there, black man. Oh, no, master.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Oh, no, master. What's up? I know we can't make fun of it, but. But that's literally what you're doing at this very moment. Shabam. Shabam. Your name is Toby. Yes, sir! I'm just going off for the commentary.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Look, Sharon, I'm just going off. Marble. I could find nothing else to throw. I'm just going off. So what's worse, the defender, the dunk or the photo? No, you got on the wrong jersey. You can't have, just the jersey itself, man. This is the wrong time.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Player 24. No, yeah, it's the wrong time, man. Put on 25 now, man. You gotta change your number, dawg. You gotta change your number, man. A number change in order. Why you looking like that, man? Right, that photo is not good.
Starting point is 00:14:22 Not in the group chat. Oh boy. His homies probably kill him. No, no, no. Listen, having this look, period, is bad. It is. Getting dunked on by White Boy is even worse.
Starting point is 00:14:38 That hard though? No, cause that was... Like, John Maret cocktail. He said that in the N word. Yeah, in, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Not even a UH it's not a UH Said it it might be a RA there's nothing you can do about No, and then the fuck up is the last name You got done by Oh, he got mad. He came out and said, no! Ah! Master! So let's spin this forward. He got mad. He got mad.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Let's spin this forward because we've all had situations like this in our lives. No, we did not have no situations like this. You've been dunked on in your life. I've been dunked on. You might have made that face if the camera just didn't catch it. This is... You didn't make that face? Like, the fact that who zoomed in is the asshole here.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Look at his face. All right. Click, click, click. Vroom. Higher quality camera. You didn't make that like the fact that who who's on the end is the asshole here Got him a furry back shot. Yeah That's nasty though. Back is too bad. That's a horrible image. You ever get done, that's why you ever got done something like this? He said, more baby oil. Like that? Don't do that. More baby oil.
Starting point is 00:16:34 You are wrong, sir. You see how this looks? I'm sorry. He just put a pink bitty face on it right there. Then you have a little thing coming out. More baby oil. I'm going to flip all day. I can't. Y'all. All right, it is summer time. I had the Punisher and Cassidy. All right, all right. All right, all right.
Starting point is 00:17:05 It is summertime. That's enough. I'm calling it time. Need a quick third. A perfect week to punish you. Perfect week. You know, I'll say, sir, you got to respect. Noah had a good game in that game, so we got to give him his love, you know, despite that moment.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Little J.C. But do posterizations seem rarer now than they used to be? Because people are making more business decisions to avoid situations like this. I think people just get out the way now, give them the two points. Everybody always got out the way. There'll still be some challenges. People still be challenging. You never see somebody coming down a lane like that.
Starting point is 00:17:36 You're gonna get up. All you gotta do, all you can do is jump straight up. It's over, man. But like, did he really think he was gonna to block it? Is that why he jumped? He probably jumped. I think he thought so, too. He probably jumped through. He probably didn't think.
Starting point is 00:17:50 I mean, listen, he probably thought that everybody looked at the color of his skin and didn't think he was going to do this. You're right. No, you're right about that. Like, that was his. You're right about that. You remember I got caught at the Drew League?
Starting point is 00:18:00 Oh, you got dunked on. Yeah, yeah. I got caught at the Drew League. But he was black though. But I didn't know. He was wiry though. He was free. It was like that skinny look.
Starting point is 00:18:16 No, you're right. That skinny look. Oh man, I'm about to smack this. And pogoed. Damn. Like off zero just boom. Oh, man, I'm about to smack this and Pogo damn like I made that face, but I'm pretty sure it was a face cuz I was not expecting Like getting dunked over a whiteboard or somebody black is just two different It's different and you're supposed to jump through like you jump in like your momentum take you through you don't jump straight up
Starting point is 00:18:56 It's like a jumps white, you know fake blocks. Mm-hmm So he was the 12th overall pick in this draft So if it's summer league teammates do try to clown him He could very easily tell them See like you not. Oh, he's a big man. Joe to 610. Oh Different always a year Welcome to America! Welcome to America! Oh my God! The whites baptize all of us! Welcome! Welcome to these lands!
Starting point is 00:19:32 From another non-American, perfect from Australia, but nonetheless the points still remain, but let's keep this moving. He did go through! He did have a good game though, so we gotta give him a score. He did go through! He had a good game, so don't let that moment... Oh yeah, big. He good. There ain't nobody.
Starting point is 00:19:45 I mean, when you're a big, they can't put you in the G League hydrant for a little bit. He fine. That's still bad. I pray there won't be more of those. 6'10". Gotta go big. But nonetheless, let's keep this moving.
Starting point is 00:19:57 In other summer league action, I know we'll appreciate this. It was Bronnie time last night in Las Vegas as the younger LeBron put up his best game of the summer so far So let's take a look at some of the highlights Of LeBron James jr. Doing things running much much more aggressive in this game He's getting it going right off the jump Anything against Cooper flag in the math? And the biggest summer league opener so Ronnie on fire out of the gate knocking down his first four shots including two threes in the first half
Starting point is 00:20:26 Finished with 17 points on six to ten shooting. He'll be three for five from three He also had five rebounds and five assists in 24 minutes of action his father LeBron Ramon James senior in attendance at the game Then like I've done to talk about Yeah, Looking like Swaggy out there. That was cold. Love game. Okay, bro. Obviously, Summer League scores for the totality of the game do not matter. So, we will just merely show you. Cross. Cross.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Yeah. Yeah. I can see. I can see. Oh my god. Yeah. I see you over there smiling. When his handles get like that. He's working. He always had to boom, boom, cross. Shout out Chris Johnson. That's what I can call it. It's like Shifty now. That's what he was g-leaguing the boys with that Shifty.
Starting point is 00:21:14 You've been working with Chris Johnson, Swaggy? It's like a hop to it. Shout out Chris Johnson. Can you replay that? Shout out Chris Johnson, a good trainer. Can you replay that? I want to. All the way towards the second half.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Good trainers matter. Never a bad time to watch Bronnie Highland. I'm going to show you. That's the thing that some of the young guys keep going. No, no, keep going. That the shots that they pass up for longer shot. Oh, and he got the rebound the last one I think and dribble to the corner yeah yeah yeah something like shit. Okay go back go back go back
Starting point is 00:21:56 right okay now yeah yeah what you think just a little bit no just keep going keep going forward forward forward forward forward now you can play it power, please and stop it when brony gets the ball Right there stop just shoot it right there. No go back just There's a lay pass back to the right there. Okay, there's a lay pass when brony catches the ball stop it That's gonna be hard you're doing Okay, it's so this is where you stop play though, yeah That's gonna be hard. You're doing. Stop. Stop. Okay. This is where you stop play though. Right?
Starting point is 00:22:31 Like you stop right here. Catch it. Like this is your ISO. So if he runs out, you can just drive by him. So the fact that he catches it and he's already moving backwards, like some of these guys gotta understand your spacing spacing you stop right there And you you I got five got I got all the time in the world right here. So what we want to do But he's already moving back. It's just yeah, but that's but it don't matter but I could just stop ready
Starting point is 00:22:57 I can start breaking his mind. So boom Now I can play right in this little 15 foot range versus catching it and already moving back That's I'm saying his footwork was already leading them back. So I think if he had better if He's catching it already, but no what I'm saying is I don't need to show you I just stop it I could just stop. I can we rewind this a little bit But you don't think because watch it man was What's there? What I'm saying is I don't know I don't even shoot it Okay, I'm just saying if I just stop
Starting point is 00:23:29 He's already see how he's already catching moving if I just stop but even if I pump fake what the guy gonna do You're gonna jump but okay Because I'm so right there. So what I'm saying is they have to understand that stop sometimes catch this pump fake He might fuck around jump. You, jump, you can give it, you can give it right back to the big. Yeah. Yeah, but his body, he wasn't moving as fast where his momentum would've,
Starting point is 00:23:52 when Ronnie killer flew by him, cause he was, he had it right there. But what I'm saying is most guys are, they're in the ISO zone, that's what I'm saying, you don't have to shoot it. If I catch it, I'm off balance, I can still stop, put my foot down, now what's up? That what's up? Instead of just going all the way back to the three, just shoot a three.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Well, Pala, can we play the conclusion of the possession, please? But don't you think he like went to the three point line? Flash. Thinking, right? Big man is going to come out, close out on me and then I can put the ball on the deck and go by. But that's what I'm saying. Most of them times they be in scoring zones and then I can put the ball on the deck and go by. But that's what I said. Most of them times, they be in scoring zones to then go all the way back to then go back to the same zone that he was already in.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But looking at Bronnie, so... So when you're talking about trying to be a scorer and get to that 50, 60, 70, those are the little moments that saves you energy. Like, I'm already right here, let me just stop and see if I can score while I'm 15 feet away and wasting that energy backing up the shooter three.
Starting point is 00:24:48 So Bronny, 10 points in the first number of the league game. Like right there, you would have stopped it in, I sold me and probably put your back to the back. And fade away. Yeah, but I'm saying that, or if I'm feeling it like Bronny, I'm doing that too. Going all the way back? Hell yeah, because I got 20.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Him having 15 is like him having 30 right now. And the shots he's making, he getting dude off rhythm. I want him to have the 30, not 15, that feels like 30. Give me the 30 that feels like 15. All you need to do is one of them gills in and out. Somebody in the chat said, Bronte dropping 17 in 24 minutes is not cooking. So I just want to know first.
Starting point is 00:25:25 No, that's a LeBron or Kobe. Yeah. They don't like LeBron. What did he do? 17, 24 minutes. 6 or 10 from the field. He looked good last week. He looked good yesterday.
Starting point is 00:25:36 3 for 5 from 3. I'm hot, bro. Fuck Brownie. As a resident cookie expert. No. All I needed was 10 points. But you've been known to cook at your time. I'll take it. Is that qualified cooking? 7 points, though. I'll take it. OK. No, I mean. All I needed was 10 points. Because you've been known to cookie your time. A 5-0. I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Does that qualify as cookie? You got seven points, though. I'll take it. OK. I'm so mad. All right. Yeah. So does Bronnie seem more comfortable out there
Starting point is 00:25:51 on the court, too? Obviously, you've worked with Bronnie in the past. No, I mean. His aggressiveness has kind of always been caught under question. I think he showed a lot in the G League last year, having the 22 points with the South Bay Lakers. Like, if you take away the criticism
Starting point is 00:26:05 of he shouldn't be in the league, then, is he ready now? If he's not ready now, is he gonna be ready next year? Like, it's all about progression, right? If we're gonna sit here and compare, even though we don't wanna compare, who looks more like the first round pick him or connect right now?
Starting point is 00:26:22 So that was bringing me to my next question. What I mean? So, I mean, just fuck the names, just production and charisma and style and comfortability. Who looks more like the first round pick? Are they three years apart from each other? That brings me to my next point, Guv. Now that. Now you see what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:26:40 Because Konek had a great summer lead, too. So far, but what I'm saying- He'm talking about, I'm talking about last year. Last year, last year. I'm talking about right now from last year to this year. One looks way more comfortable than the other. One looks like he's more like, okay, I'm getting the feel for this. One is still trying to figure out, you know, I mean, if they say one time too. But that's what I'm saying. If you still figuring that out, then that's a problem too.
Starting point is 00:27:06 But I'm just saying like, are they three years apart? I'm trying to figure out if he's going to be there. Yeah. So that brings me to my next point. So if you look at this, this is technically, this would be Ronnie Summer League after his sophomore year of college, right? So he'd be going into his junior year of college, right? He would have just finished his sophomore year.
Starting point is 00:27:23 His sophomore year, he basically played in the G League. If you just look at him like that, obviously that's not. That's how everyone looks at it. I mean that's how, when you're drafting, yes. So he's only 20 years old, right? Dalton Connect is 24. I think Dalton Connect is a little bit younger than Jalen Williams, who's already an all-NBA,
Starting point is 00:27:38 getting rookie max extensions. So it's more upside for Bronnie from an age standpoint with the four- year age difference. But when you look at this now, there's been talks that the Lakers may incorporate Bronnie into their rotation 10 to 15 minutes a game, something along that lines heading into the season. Is Bronnie showing he deserves an opportunity
Starting point is 00:27:56 to be in the Lakers rotation with his play in summer league? Opportunity, yes, everyone deserves an opportunity, but that opportunity is given in training camp Right you and I don't know if a lot of players realize this especially if you're trying to figure out the rotation training camp is very fucking important and When you're talking about carving out minutes you have these little workouts Fighting for minutes because once preseason starts, once the season starts, the coach is not going to go and try you out until something drastic happens. Someone gets
Starting point is 00:28:35 injured, you know, I'm tired of this guy, let's try something new. So for those first 15, 20 games, that's whatever happened in training camp. So, you know, you're saying you're going gonna guarantee him eight to 15. I don't wanna hear that sounds like bullshit to me. Because you have to go earn that, right? Go earn it. Right, you know, if he has, because if you're Gabe, I'm not letting him take 15, eight minutes.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Why? You're crazy. No, no, no, no. Sometimes you know coming in that, like, coaches know they going to play you, and they see how you, they play you in summer league. I remember when I was finally about to get some time, shit, they asked me, can I go to summer league and help John
Starting point is 00:29:17 Wall and shit. So wait, wait, wait. Yeah. So what year was this for you? This is when you came back with this crazy looking shit. But what year? I don't understand. No, and the second year. And the second year.
Starting point is 00:29:27 No, no, no, no, I know and the second year. I'm talking about when they, the next year. No, no, no, no. I did, but niggas don't matter. Don't go by that. It don't matter. No, it do matter. So you see, I'm just saying so.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Because they tell you you're going to play in the summer and they like to see that, they want to see growth. They like to see growth all through the summer. No, okay, so we play, I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:29:43 I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. I'm just saying so. Because they tell you you're going to play in the summer and they like to see that, they want to see growth. They like to see growth all through the summer. Okay, so we play somebody our first two years. They want to see growth all through the summer. No, no, no, no, like I said. First two years, did you play somebody after your first two years or something? Like were you a third year NBA player playing in the summer league?
Starting point is 00:29:59 Is that what you're trying to say? Yeah, I played two games with John Wall. Okay, all right, all right, okay. I did, I played, they asked, can I help them? All right, sure, I played two games with John Wall. Okay. All right, all right. I did. I played. Can I help him? All right, you all got a question. So here's my question. To what you just said, first of all, like yesterday I was like,
Starting point is 00:30:14 I don't really watch summer league, but I know a lot of people that don't watch summer league. It ain't that I don't understand basketball. That's where the chat, because people got mad because I said I didn't watch summer league. We did see your brother at summer league though, so hopefully he watched and communicated. You see him everywhere. Here's my question. That is true. Because you just said training camp is very important for like minutes and all the things, right?
Starting point is 00:30:36 So which is more important, summer league or training camp? For who? Well, like Bronnie. Say Bronnie, for example. So I look at it like this. I'm going to say both. If you're a one, if you're a first year coming out of college or a second year player, this is important for you because this is your first milestone to see what you've been working on since the season ended to now.
Starting point is 00:30:59 So from college, whatever you've been training for, summer league is the first time you get to play NBA rules. Yeah, but to, and I'll let you finish. So here's why I asked that because, and I don't know this, like in summer league, how many of these guys will actually either make the team or actually play meaningful minutes in the NBA So Ronnie doing what he's doing at summer league is he gonna get
Starting point is 00:31:32 To the season right and how realistic is it compared to the competition? So it's like this. So let's say he's been working on since the seasons You know what I mean? Yeah, no since the season and let's say he's been working on since the season's end. You know what I mean? Yeah. No, since the season end, let's say he's been working on his step back and his split game, right? And that's what they've been working on. And then he's using Summer League to see if it actually works, right? I got aggressive guys who's going to be hard showing.
Starting point is 00:31:59 So I get to work on these moves to see if they work. Now, if they work here, I know everybody's going to be a little bit fast, a little bit strong. If they don't work here against this crew, moving forward, I gotta redo everything. So it gives me, it's like a halfway point. So now I can see what this works,
Starting point is 00:32:17 okay, I need conditioning, okay, this work, I need to add something to it. Now, going into a training camp, when I'm playing against Gabe, I got the confidence, okay, I know I can go off the pick and roll and I can shoot right over him, because there's been guys like that that I played against at summer league, a little bit stronger than the guy that I'm going to go against, don't jump as high.
Starting point is 00:32:35 So it gives me some type of engagement. That's all. And you say both. I say both. You say both. Yeah, I say both. I say both, yeah, for Bron. Well, we know that the Clippers are...
Starting point is 00:32:45 For Bron, you said you sent both first. For Bron, you want to get an opportunity. Yeah, no, sometimes you don't get an opportunity, but they're saying 8 to 15, so that means between him and Gabe, who's going to get those minutes, because they both won't get the minutes. I need to... But coming in, they're going to put Gabe first. Gabe first. You got to beat him up.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Yeah, I think if you're like a first or second year player, I think it's definitely and you're trying to get minutes I think both is important. Sure. We know the Clippers are one of the four teams interested in trading for LeBron So y'all don't know this audition. You got you got handed you got handed your starting position you know I didn't get handed and you got handed. I wasn't no, I didn't know so pick no notes Yeah, I had to know I had to play Sumberlake We end up going five and one and I played well. And then training camp, I ended up playing well. But through preseason and stuff like that,
Starting point is 00:33:30 it was Luke Rudnall first. Luke. But I mean, but eventually, I mean, it is, you are a lottery. Me, I started the last end of my first year and rookie of the month, all that. And then going into training camp the next year, I'm coming off the bench.
Starting point is 00:33:48 So you played summer league your rookie year? I'm coming off the bench like, nigga, you crazy? You played summer league your rookie year? I think for three seasons. Great. He played three seasons. For three seasons, you played summer league. Why are you laughing?
Starting point is 00:34:01 I'm not laughing. Yes, you are. I'm not laughing. I'm not laughing. You were kicking. Because we left, so they wanted to see how him and John Walls gonna be the one. Okay. And you played summer league? Two years. Two years. All games. Every game. No smoke though. And then you know then in training camp it was between me and Bobby Surra. But the growth is there. I ended up
Starting point is 00:34:22 taking a position and starting then. You see how easy Summer League gets those each year. I ain't gonna lie. But it's like a little confidence booster, man. You need confidence in this league. Yeah. For real. You do. There's always these moments, man.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Like that Furfick kid. What? Yeah. This right here, the way it makes him feel, he might go on a training camp like, yeeeah. Once someone gets confident, then every day he'll be like,
Starting point is 00:34:56 you try that shit and they knock you on your ass. But he gonna try it. He gonna try it. See how I did in that last Fritzchman? He gonna be like, oh shit, this is something. Man, even free season don't matter. Let's keep this thing moving. Talk about some other summer league action.
Starting point is 00:35:14 So number two overall pick, Dylan Harper, dealing with a minor groin strain which forced him to miss the Spurs' first game in Vegas. In his summer league debut in game two Saturday, he was on a minutes restriction, but still did his thing in limited action. Let's take a look at the highlights. They were just monitoring, all right? But he still came out, still did his thing. He mad at everybody.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Harper only played 20 minutes. He finished 16.63 bounce, two assists, two steals. Okay, give me that. That nice block going up against Cooper flag in the math. That's a great block. How tall is he? About 6'6". Yeah, he's that.
Starting point is 00:35:38 I'm going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's going to pray. He's That's athletic. That's a great one. How tall is he? About 6'6".
Starting point is 00:35:47 Yeah, he's a... He's sneaky. He's got sneaky ability. Like I said, 16.6 rebounds, two assists, two steals, five to 12 from the field, six to seven from the line. Did struggle to find his stroke from long range missing all four of his three-point attempts in that first game. His second game, followed that up
Starting point is 00:36:05 with another 16 point performance, but he was five of 16 shooting on Monday night. But for me, and I know y'all probably agree, Summer League is about being aggressive. Seen a lot of guys struggle, Cooper Flag, five of 21 in his first game, I think 10 of 21 in the second. They're figuring it out, right?
Starting point is 00:36:20 But it's good to see them aggressive, taking a lot of shots. I think in some cases more shots than they're taking in college. But what are your impressions of Dylan Harper in his first NBA summer league action? Man, that boy poise. You can tell he come from an NBA background.
Starting point is 00:36:37 It just look natural and he look like he take his time out there. He's not rushing. Seem to do all the little things too. I think that's something that the Spurs like when he played both ends. And he just looked like he's smart out there and know the game. And there's been talk too, I think Wimby recently
Starting point is 00:36:56 had some comments basically saying to ask him if he thinks the Spurs should try to trade some of these guys for a superstar. He said, no, I'll ride with these young guys. Let's really build something here. Seems like you're really in the process of doing that. Stephon Castle, obviously. I'll say so.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Dylan Harper, Carter Bryant, who we'll talk about in a second, but it seems like the Spurs are building a really strong young core. Like, I mean, Spurs, I mean, just watching him play, the mannerisms, the style, the speed, the poise, the passing ability, you got him, and Castle's about what, six five two himself? So you got your back court sitting around six five, six six,
Starting point is 00:37:33 both actually are athletic. So you got your one and your two, both six six, and both got sneaky jumping. Yeah, sneaky bounce, sneaky height. Me right now, as a general manager, and I'm watching him play and watching how he's moving, I don't know what I want to do with Fox. Because having him at the one, two, three, doesn't even make sense to me anymore. Him coming off the bench doesn't even make sense to me anymore. Him coming off the bench doesn't even make sense to me anymore. If I want this
Starting point is 00:38:06 to be a championship team, I need him and Castle to start playing today. I don't need no waiting period. I need them to get all of the minutes and learn how to just be efficient. Now with Wimby, now you have Carter Bryant that looks like he's gonna be a defense, he looks like he's damn near, he look like he's a man already. We're gonna talk about that in a minute. You know what I mean? He's 16.
Starting point is 00:38:31 He is 16, that's what I'm saying. He's 6'7 with his shoe, 6'7 without his shoes. The way he block his shots and shit. So now you have that at your three. So instead of going guard, guard, guard, now you got your guard, guard, both athletic, and your small forward, athletic as shit, then you got your guard guard, both athletic, and your small four. Athletic is shit, then you got a power four
Starting point is 00:38:47 in your center. You're talking about a whole different team. Are you taking, are you waiting for that process? That's a process. What I'm saying is I don't wanna wait. I'm gonna use this year. But Wimby is gonna be, they gonna be getting the ass whooped.
Starting point is 00:39:01 But if Wimby plays 65, 70 games, right, bounces back from the defense on both He's been cleared to return to court earlier than expected. I think it was supposed to be September got cleared Back to the court. Yeah, no, but I need to All right as somebody that man in a similar situation, what would you tell Fox me? Like cuz these are all star I know similar situation, what would you tell Fox then? Like, cause he's an all-star. I know, obviously Fox, where do you wanna go? No, what I'm saying is Fox is obviously better.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Fox is better, of course. No, but I'm saying Fox is better right now. But you give him a year to maybe learn underneath him right then. I don't want to. You don't think that's a good move? No, he wanna go now. Because Fox is an all-star, He's an all NBA player. He is
Starting point is 00:39:46 He's a top. Yeah top seven top ten point guard. Yeah But I have I have my future here and we're not good enough right now 38 minutes and him playing like ten. I don't need that So if I think these two six six dudes that can jump out the gym is my future, I need to fast forward them now. Just throw them into the fire. Why did you get him? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Who? Fox. Well this is before you got the number two pick. Before I got the number two pick. You know what I mean? You know what I'm saying? But Fox is still leverage for them though to get them. It's no different.
Starting point is 00:40:20 It's no different. They can wear pieces though. It's no different than the Lakers with Cole. He is. But I got Eddie Jones cool. And then you sitting there watching practice like. I got a young Colby. He can do the same thing.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Because Eddie Jones was an all-star. And it was like, yeah, you know what? We're just going to move on now. We don't need you to fight no minutes. We're just going to give him a minute. There's been a good three man But that's what I'm saying at the point they're just like it's so close I'm like, yeah maybe just You know, let me just go move you somewhere else so you can play your minutes and then let go So you don't think it'd be good for a guy like Dylan Harper to learn under there in Fox for a season have
Starting point is 00:41:03 Less stress less strain coming into his rookie year. Learn from an all-NBA-level guard. You mess with the value of Fox, too, though. Because he's gonna still play Harper a lot of minutes, and it's gonna be up and down for Fox with his confidence. Knowing that he's about to be replaced anyway, like I'm grooming him. I'm grooming him, and I'm motherfucking twenty-something. Yeah, that's not good for somebody's confidence, bro. So if you're gonna do that.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Like I'm not saying I don't wanna get rid of Fox because I know what type of player he is, but I'm looking at these two, six, six, jumping one, they both play the one, two, and then I got Carter Bryan showing like, damn, you are like an A-man out here. Right, you are, one, your defense is already elite. Your offense is gonna kick in at some point,
Starting point is 00:41:47 but you three athletic guys with Wimby and our four, you guys grow three, four years together. It can be dangerous. And you guys are nothing for cheaper. And you're cheap, you're money cheap? If you have one of these OKC years where y'all both jump out the window fast, I'm good and you're cheap, you're money cheap. If you have one of these OKC years where y'all both both jump out the window fast, I'm good with that.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Yeah. The most disrespected. I know. And the Spurs have a system. I know. They're known for developing. I know that's what they're all for in the NBA. It's just one of those situations where.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Him and Donovan Mitchell. I think the Spurs are in a good situation. I mean, they got. Good problems to have is Marlon. Because they have leverage with box But they also know for like developing players your Fox Tony Parker. Yeah, nobody Spurs that's what I'm saying like Even with Tony Parker they're looking at him like okay, you're gonna start off the day one. I'm saying
Starting point is 00:42:37 traded Fox's I mean you don't know but you don't know it until you, but what I'm saying is. You should learn from holidays. No, what I'm saying is you don't know it until you see them. Like that as I said, just a little 20 minutes that you're seeing, I'm like, I like the attributes. I like that.
Starting point is 00:43:00 And I don't know. Brzezinski. And I don't know if I want to play all three of them while like Carter's coming off the bench I want them there. I want them to learn today. Okay. That's why summer league is important though It's like you said you can see attributes before yeah I guess you know like that's why it's like, you know, you can see a little something like I mean it is so much even guy goes up there makes mr.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Shots the type of shots he's taking and you got to know are down the line He might miss these shots in summer league these are good shots he's gonna make them this is played like Cooper Flags played like I know I got a trade Fox like you're not gonna trade Fox you got to right no you're gonna you're gonna play Fox and then try to figure out how to play this four-man rotation and in a year from now then you're gonna realize I need to trade Fox a duh but that's what I'm saying I'm just fast forwarded this shit a year from now coming to the same conclusion but for a time you know it it's going to be the same conclusion.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You're going to have Dylan sitting there doing this thing, and you're going to be sitting like, OK. Then you have Carter Bryant coming off the bench, sitting there picking up that pace. And then you're going to realize these three together is packing a bigger punch. But especially defensively, defensively, you're not going to be able to post this group up.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Think about it. Think about the guards. You're not going to be able, like Shane's not going to be, he's just not going to have an easy way posting these strong ass six guards up. Fox, into the basket. Spurs will finally be fun. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:44:22 You got it. Carter Bryant, he's going gonna guard one through four. He's gonna guard one through four. They always been the most boring team but with these young guys at how athletic they are. So you're gonna come to that conclusion. You're gonna have that conclusion. But first also grab Luke Cornett from the Celtics this offseason. I'm saying they got some bigs that can play in a support role. But I think Wimby obviously trying to make the playoffs now. I'm just saying right now. What can you say, Fox?
Starting point is 00:44:48 I mean, listen, I still think that can make it. It sounds like a bad take because you can't see it next summer or the year after. Watch what the starting lineup. What can you say in Fox right now? What's the starting lineup? It's going to be a two guard on part of a box. What can you say in Fox right now?
Starting point is 00:45:03 That shit's been hard. Fox Brown this year and White, that should have been hard. Fox Brown this year, and White, that would have been cold. Fox? Where can it go now? I know you can't trade him to Boston no more, so where could it go? Wizards? No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:45:17 You said where? Just trade the number two on the... Oh. Send him to Houston. Houston will take him. Phoenix? Now, if Houston get him, that's a different story. I know. Oh He's gonna take it Phoenix Now he's to get him. That's a different story. No, no, he's Again, I did I do that for very free, huh? Yeah, if bugs get him
Starting point is 00:45:37 like he If bugs get them come on What we got? Oh, if Bucks get them come on You got two fast You doing what the Spurs thought they was gonna do If you got if you got if you got Denver and Denver wants to finally realize that you might want to upgrade just a little bit Denver not bad. I know I know I know Murray is more equipped but one is a speed demon and those pick and rolls become a different coverage because he can come down heel
Starting point is 00:46:15 fast so all that drop covered shit looks a little different on pop-outs like with Murray you can like yeah you know he's slow when Fox comes off of it. You have to drop drop Now that's the easier pass about the state that is I forgot So you talk about it don't don't stand here be perfect. We're gonna talk about that in a moment Let's talk about my day might be They could probably get a little a little bit. Yeah, they could get Dame for a little bit. But you mentioned Carter Bryant. So let's show some love to the 14th overall pick.
Starting point is 00:46:51 Who's already showing that he's a defensive demon. Let's take a look at some of Carter Bryant's highlights. So Bryant, he has to guard Cooper flag in their meeting Saturday. This is what changes that lineup. Carter Bryant in this summer league, but he locked up the number one pick. That's what I'm saying.'m saying flag was 3 or 12 from the field to turn over to Brian as his primary defender and in
Starting point is 00:47:10 the Spurs show they were locked in as a defensive unit on another possession with Harper and Bryant leading the charge forcing a 24-second violation. Let's take a look at this defense right here. Like getting after it.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Yeah, just the one right here. Oh, no, no, shoulder blocks. No, but that's what I'm saying. Look at it. Just look at how it looks. Look at the rotations. Look at me at. And the thing is, when we're being there, it's going to be so long. Now, what I'm saying is, if you are planning on putting Fox,
Starting point is 00:47:41 Dillon, and Weston Amadea 3, you're sitting there with Carter Bryan him sit how long before you say fuck okay just put him in Atlanta yeah how long before you say okay I got a long now you're saying so now you got damn he for sure could be a 3d huh at the fork let's do with the blind here man get that motherfucker. I think he's at the four. She can come off at the one and he come off the bench Oh, yeah, you can bring them off the bench He don't like the pattern McCross son. What best they have they have Harrison Barnes still? Yeah Listen listen man, if they you know somebody I mean I got them making the playoffs next year this party Listen man, if they you know somebody I mean I got them making the playoffs next year to spur
Starting point is 00:48:30 With wait, wait, wait. No, I mean, I mean I think they get in who? If they make a trade is all the if Wimby's healthy, I think the Spurs get in next year if they make a trade Bar would you know what you know? You know what Houston? But they nice but will it fit, do it match? Who? That team. Listen, I trust the Spurs because they have a system and they have their guy, they have their wimpy. Yeah, pop them. I mean, I understand the first system, I mean, it's the same, it's gonna still be the same system.
Starting point is 00:49:01 I just think they have their wimpy and and now they're just going to build around it. And I think the guys that they have... And as they should... It's just like, you know, I trust the Spurs in this situation. So, as I mentioned, Wimby fully cleared to come back to the court earlier than expected while recovering from that deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder. I remember...
Starting point is 00:49:20 What was it? Your John Wall... John Wall went to Houston? Yeah. Yeah, I remember he averaged, here it is, he averaged 20 and seven. Right? Think about what he averaged, 20 and seven. And then the next year they told him don't show up.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Because they said, you're good enough to win games we don't want to win and at your position we want we want these guys to actually play so we can see who they're gonna be. So they told a guy who averaged 20 and 7 to just stay home because we don't because like we don't want to Because we don't want to win. We don't want to win, but more than that, I'm just saying more than that, we want the guy that's behind you who is our future to get them reps in.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Who was that? It played out the way it was supposed to. Obviously, Rock is second in the Western season, but it's just crazy to me to think, oh, man, you might impact winning too much. Go ahead, we'll just pay you this bread. Shit, you might have these dudes thinking they could do it like good That's fucked up though, but that's how that's how the John Walker
Starting point is 00:50:30 So go back to win be when be fully cleared how far away realistic Do you think they spurs are for being a championship level roster? I think playoffs right now in this season is a good target to have but if this young crew develops the way they're hoping they can And when becomes back and plays at the level we know he could play it I'm gonna say three years three four years. So then three years three years. Yeah, I mean I like this first system so I know once they get them guys locked in the young right now, but Yeah, I'll give them I mean cuz it's gonna you know, the Spurs like to bring guys in Playoffs for sure though. I got to make it a playoffs for sure this year. Legit playoffs or playing top six or they gonna have to fight for it?
Starting point is 00:51:12 Probably get it. Okay. You got to be making the playoffs this year? You can use Harper like James Harden. But OKC's main guy is 26. I know but I'm saying they OKC had like a Russ that's sent that Fox similar to and they got Wimby like a KD and they brought James off the bench so Harden could be James here. So they could do it you can figure it out. Alright so what four seasons ago? That'd be Wimby what? Four. Four seasons ago? That'd be Wimby's sixth season. Four or five. If Wimby held the year three.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Four or five. We feel like he's competing for defensive player and he's gonna be a little bit. No, he's not a defensive player here, but offensive, the team just ain't old enough yet for them. He's been training with Shaolin Monks. He. Breaking boards with his Monks.
Starting point is 00:52:01 He, but they still need reps themselves. Three years. Okay, three years. need reps themselves Three years okay three three years three years when being three years would be like Shaq when Jordan retires I'm gonna look a ring. No, Kareem's the karate. Yeah, far Bruce Lee. Yeah, it'll be like when Jordan retired and then Lakers is favorite because they're they had Shaq like what the people don't understand that part like Bulls was when Shaq got to LA, it was Bulls, it was Michael Jordan. The day he retired, Lakers was favorite, or Shaq was favorite to win a championship. They had a lockout, and that's how Spurs got it,
Starting point is 00:52:39 because Lakers wasn't healthy. Then that's when Lakers started dominating. In three years, I think Wimby himself will be dominant enough to control a game by himself. Offensively and defensively. Cause defense, I mean, and then from there, it's with the guys that he got, you got a Carter Bryant with you.
Starting point is 00:53:03 You got the, now you're talking about like, you're talking damn near like Detroit when received Wallace got there Now you're really talking about holding people to that 90 100 points just off defense and then you can find a way to score You can find a way to score but You can find a way to score but I think Maybe the mother of my life what good they had a pivot and then don't let them get a fuck Oh, so another goddamn hybrid that can goddamn play defense, too. I Think they will take up like that and then just you and then just say we're gonna lock everybody They're hard to pick up like that on a real NBA player who? Dylan Harper
Starting point is 00:53:43 Can't try to do that shit 94 feet on? 94, I mean, 94 feet. On Brunson. Can he do that on Brunson? Yeah. Yeah, he can do that on Brunson. Because Brunson don't have foot speed, and Brunson's not trying to go to the ball speed.
Starting point is 00:54:00 But Brunson, you. Only people that have hurt Dylan is. He's got momentum towards you, though. Fox. Fox will kill him trying that shit. Hollywood, fuck him up trying that shit. Even trying that on Garland. Yeah. Lonzo Ball is going to speed past you.
Starting point is 00:54:22 You know there's only a handful, six, seven, that's just going gonna speed past you. I'm good. Yeah, you know, there's only a handful of 6'7", that's just gonna speed past you. Other than that, I mean, most of the guys, you know, like Cade is gonna, he gonna mosey on down the lane. That's what I'm saying. So he'll be fine picking up the ball. Yeah, you know, let me just pick it up, turn, turn, turn. Cade is what, 6'7"? He's level, man.
Starting point is 00:54:42 He's 6'7", man. He's all that hard shit. Blow right by him. There's not a lot of guys that are just going to blow by you and say fuck this offense. That's what I'm saying. Starting point is 00:56:13 I'm tired of seeing you with that RoadSparks commercial. I'm really sorry. I think I could help you, man. When I thought about RoadSparks, I was like. I'm tired of seeing you in the Roast Park commercial. Commercial. Damn. You watch Gil's Roast Park commercial?
Starting point is 00:56:30 Fucking turn into information. Yeah, man. Damn, sexy, infomercial. You know what I mean? What? Sexy infomercial. I never thought you'd be an infomercial. You know?
Starting point is 00:56:41 When you turn 50, use Ro Pox to keep you up. That's R-O.CO slash arena. For $15 off your first shot out for Rose Pox. Oh my God. It's been on ad pop for a while. That was good. I've been working on, I have trouble reading big words sometimes. That was so good.
Starting point is 00:57:01 I've been working. It was a nice, you had a nice little photo guilt walking in front of the guilt. And I see like the distractions cause Swaggy's over here. You stayed focused. I like that. I like that. Much like Bronnie last night in the summer league. So let's talk about another subject that we got to get to. So Angel Reese have been balling out on and off the court. Second year forward two-time All-Star selection has come through with nine straight double doubles. Reebok also announced she's getting her own signature shoe and she landed the cover of 2k26 WNBA edition. So recently an image hit the internet which depicted Reese on the cover of 2k26 as a monkey.
Starting point is 00:57:40 We're not going to share that photo because it's extremely racist and vile. But we got to talk about, you know, people are haters. Swagging here. I already know. They want to see people hate. That's a lot of people may hate on Angie Reese. For no reason. Like I said, we're not going to share the image.
Starting point is 00:57:51 A lot of people have seen it. It's been amplified. But RG3, who has a noted beef with Reese dating back to his comments about her hating Caitlin Clark, decided to amplify the image under the guise of speaking out for Reese and black athletes. But he also managed to throw some shade with the following tweet. So here's what he said, it's a very long tweet,
Starting point is 00:58:07 so bear with me. All right, this has got to stop. There is no place for racism in this world. Whether you like a play or not, Angel Reese should never be called or depicted as a monkey. I've been quiet on the Angel Reese front because she shared a video that aided in my wife, kids, family, and friends receiving death threats,
Starting point is 00:58:23 threats of physical harm to my family, and, and threats of sexual violence to my children on social media and beyond. That will never be okay with me. I never attacked her or her family when I stated and backed up with clear basketball evidence that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. It's sports. Everybody won't like each other. People in Angel's inner circle called me and told me I was right, and Angel Reese has
Starting point is 00:58:44 grown to hate Caitlin Clark Because of the media always asking her about Caitlin and being constantly compared to her He went on to say some people made it about race But I never did and never will instead of becoming the villain in anyone's story I decided it to just not all that being said Angel Reese or any black man or woman should never be called or depicted as a monkey ever Stop it if you hate Angel Reese because she is black you are the problem. If you hate Angel Reese because you are a Caitlin Clark fan don't turn it racial.
Starting point is 00:59:11 There should be no space for racism in this world. A very long-winded tweet. I had to read all that. I apologize. Reese's mother responded to RG3's tweet with the following. She said, man, stop with the cap. My daughter's circle is so small and tight, so I'd be interested to know who called you. Whomever you say called you is not in her circle. To speak on her feelings towards a media fandom made up beef. Just stay on that side because the doors are closed over here.
Starting point is 00:59:40 Andrew responded. About an hour later, Reese indirectly responded herself. This tweet, here's what Angel Reese tweeted. She said, lying on this app when everybody But, tell them. About an hour later, Reese indirectly responded herself. Tell them. This tweet, here's what Angel Reese tweeted. She said, lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nasty with several Y's worked. Nasty, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, worked. Really emphasized.
Starting point is 01:00:00 So, Cheryl, obviously I know you've seen this situation go down. What are thoughts on situation with Angel Reese in RG 3 and this whole angel hates Caitlin Clark situation? I'm tired I'm tired for you. The narrative is tired my question though for My biggest question though for RG3 is like, why do you keep Angel's name in your mouth? I feel like there's, I don't know if he's obsessed with her. That's his wife. I don't know who it is. I just, I'm just tired of it.
Starting point is 01:00:45 But I only saw that image when he posted it. I didn't see it anywhere else. I think at the point that image was not really, hadn't gone viral, was on a small account, had a limited amount of viewership on it, and he now elevates it, gets several million impressions on his tweet. So to say, you know, it's racist and we shouldn't do it and racism doesn't work why are you sharing it? Because the only time I saw it was when he posted it.
Starting point is 01:01:16 And then to say that somebody in Angel Circle called him and told him that she hates Caitlin. That's fake. It's bullshit. Yeah, that's fake. It just is. And at some point, as a grown man, go find something else to do. Instead of sitting here trying to pit Angel against Caitlin,
Starting point is 01:01:40 I think both of them have actually said they don't hate each other. But I will also say, if they don't hate each other, but I will also say if they don't like each other That's okay I don't like me too. There's a lot of people. I need to it's okay. I don't like each other I think there are a lot of MBA guys that don't like each other, but but it's not blown out of proportion like like this is and He he's talking about other people
Starting point is 01:02:05 that are part of the problem. Like you're a big part of the problem. Shout out to her mom. So Shaq responded recently as well and said, had a direct threat to RGC, said if you ever post another monkey post of Angel again, he will punch you in your effing face. I believe was Shaq's words.
Starting point is 01:02:23 Shaq and Andrew obviously worked together at Reebok, like his little sister, they're very present at LSU games. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out, is he posting it? Uncle Ruckus. What'd you say? Is he posting it as like, I'm showing the world this, and then I stand back and then pretend that I don't condone this
Starting point is 01:02:45 I'm the one that's presenting it. Very offensive imagery. The last thing I'll say I don't even want to talk about that monkey picture he posted. For me it should be about us celebrating. Like Angel being only the third black WNBA player to be on the cover of NBA 2K with Candice, Asia, and Angel. We should be celebrating that. We should be celebrating whether you like it or not. We should be celebrating Angel Reese getting a signature shoe. Those are things in the women's game that have been unheard of. And for her to be able to grace the cover of NBA 2K,
Starting point is 01:03:34 talking about her signature shoe, her release, like, RG3, you wanna go post something completely different and then blame it on somebody else when we should be celebrating what's going on in the women's game today. Yeah, you know, we talked about it. Yeah. You know, I sit here like,
Starting point is 01:03:56 them liking or not liking each other is irrelevant. Right, it's irrelevant, but it's the safest topic in sports, black versus white, because that's been done through history, right? It's the American way, black versus white. That's more comfortable than the reality. It's because it's lazy journalism, right? You know, instead of saying, hey, these two girls or women both got signature shoes within then mere 12 months of being professionals. That's a celebration.
Starting point is 01:04:41 Being on the cover, that's a celebration. Having McDonald's. Because the more, I don't care if you say they belong, there are numbers. One is playing basketball, one is playing media and understanding fucking business. Okay? Period. I don't care if you like Angel or not, but she's opening doors that the others didn't or couldn't have She's understanding her value in opening it up, right? She's knocking down doors that wasn't be that wasn't kicked before but you gotta let that happen No, I sorry cuz I'll let you finish because I agree with that. But here's the other thing
Starting point is 01:05:22 You're saying one's playing basketball At the beginning of the season when angel wasn't playing very well She even said I'm not playing well now all of a sudden she has nine fucking double doubles in a row And nobody's talking about what she's doing on the basketball court now So again RG three you were one of the main ones in the beginning talking about, oh, Angel Reese, she focusing too much on the Met Gala. She focusing too much on off the court stuff, right?
Starting point is 01:05:53 Just like a whole lot of other people. And now that she is showing I can do both, nobody wants to talk about damn. Like Angel Reese is balling right now. Balling. Because that's what I said. That wasn't the narrative. That's what I said because if the narrative wasn't is balling right now. Because that wasn't the narrative. Yes. That's what I said because if the narrative wasn't her balling.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Because she could. Right. Right. You know it was easy for us to tell this is why. Like they're both they're both knocking down doors that needed to be knocked down. And even if you're from the outside looking in, whatever you guys wanted, whatever that was complained about in the W before is being answered and everyone's going to benefit from it.
Starting point is 01:06:32 Right? When LeBron James came into the league and he signed that $100 million contract before he stepped foot, do you think he was, everybody was sitting there like, yeah, no. Hell no, they hated him. They hated him. They hated that. No, I hate that. Only the smart ones, like the Colb is sitting there like,
Starting point is 01:06:50 oh, he got a hun. Cool. When I read up, that's the mark now. The mark was here before. They was only giving us 30, 40 million. They're giving the rookie 100, the NVP's the most valuable. We get to piggyback off of that hundred. Someone kicks down the door.
Starting point is 01:07:09 And that's the part that people don't really understand and realize, right? Like, I had this conversation with someone a couple weeks ago and I said, you know, when I signed my very first contract with Nike, like getting my first signature shoe, my contract was $175,000, right? But hold on, sure, that was big bread back in the day.
Starting point is 01:07:29 It was, and I was like, damn, I've made it, right? But I will tell you, I never thought that I would sit here today and see players like a Caitlin Clark signing a 20-whatever-million-dollar contract with Nike. What I love about that, that a lot of people can't see and understand is a Juju Watkins, who is a Nike athlete, can now go and be like,
Starting point is 01:07:53 oh, I see where the money is. I see what y'all are doing now. Absolutely, Juju benefits from that. Asia Reup and Her Deal benefits from that. Every athlete who's with whatever brand that is, you can see what Angel's doing, what Kaitlyn's doing, and you can look at that and say, oh I will be the next one. But that's, huh? It is. But that's what I'm saying. But it's not just about that part. That is the conversation people don it's not about that. I know what I'm saying is that is that is the that's the conversation people don't
Starting point is 01:08:27 want to look at. I you have to sit back, remove your ego and say, listen, we wanted more money. Yeah, like everybody does. Yeah, right. I want more money. Yeah. More money is here. Don't complain how it's coming.
Starting point is 01:08:42 I don't care how it's coming. If you want to if you came in and you kicked the door down now I get two more million than I was supposed to get before. Thank you. I appreciate it All right. Now I get to give my grind and I don't think people are looking at that way. I know I Know see things move forward Things move forward and things I don't give a fuck why I got a private plane mother fucker We got a private plane. I hate to see things move forward and things that get in the way. I don't give a fuck why I got a private plane.
Starting point is 01:09:04 Motherfuck, I'm in a private plane now. Who wear A? Like the NBA. Detroit Pistons, bad boys, the niggas who was clothesline-ing you, they had a private plane that opened up private planes. So hey, Jordan, you got clothesline for them private planes, god damn it, A. Man, I just had to buy it. You got private planes.
Starting point is 01:09:24 Had to buy the nastiest cereal, because Angel Reese's face was on it. The Wheaties. Mm-hmm. I remember buying it, because Jordan had it, but the boo was on the cover. You're not a fan of Wheaties, why? But every time you're the first to do something.
Starting point is 01:09:37 But every time, like, you're the first to do something. But I bought it. Because she was on the cover. Damn Reese's pieces. That stuff, it didn't she was on the cover. There was a damn Reese's Pieces. That stuff, it didn't happen back in the day. And I can look at just so many opportunities that they have today that I'm like, damn, it's about time. Because even back then, I know people were always like,
Starting point is 01:09:58 damn, Tina Thompson should have a lipstick line because of the lipstick she wears. But beauty brands were like um no we're not interested and today you can look at so many of these women across the league that are just getting opportunity after opportunity and to me that's what it's supposed to be about like somebody has had to be the first yeah to say this is where we right now, but y'all deserve so much better and more than what we have. And that, to me, is absolutely what's happening today. So when people like NRG3 does the type of shit
Starting point is 01:10:32 that he's been doing, I'm like, we don't need you. We don't need you on this side. Just stay over there and keep doing what you're doing. Never need you. Well, the question is people's growth to me too, when I see people like that, Aiden. Like what, like RG3? Yeah, just your growth and to see where, you know,
Starting point is 01:10:50 you see athletes are going. Like, you know what I'm saying, like when I made my decision to go overseas, you know, I didn't think that it was going to, you know, be as big as what it is, but now that I see high school kids getting paid and all this stuff, it's like, damn, like that was the reason why we fought for this.
Starting point is 01:11:04 So, you know, I'm happy. So I think it just speaks to people's growth and where they are in their life. And ignorance. But the question for you, Ray. I live in this world where, I live in a space where, how, like if you like the sport,
Starting point is 01:11:18 how are you picking one? Like, do you like greatness or you don't? Like, I'm confused on, like, how do you like one side and then hate the other? It just doesn't ever make sense to me. Like, it's like- But you know what? Are you dead?
Starting point is 01:11:37 I will say this. Uh-huh. I don't, I don't know, I can't speak for everybody. Like, for me, it's not even about picking a side, like liking one and hating the other. For me, it's about not liking some of the fans that have all of a sudden come over, and they're making it more than basketball, right?
Starting point is 01:11:57 Like they're throwing in the racism, they're throwing in the hate. That's the part where I'm like, we don't need that. But from a basketball standpoint, to watch the talent, to watch the game today, I like all of it. I told somebody the other day, to me, Caitlyn Clark right now, the best part of her game to me is her passing. Like her ability to see shit before everybody else sees it. She gets the ball where it needs to be.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Like I have zero hate for her. I appreciate her game. What I don't appreciate is all the ugly nastiness that comes with it, right? But I do think it's fair for people to be like, well, Angel's my favorite player. Kaylin's my, well, Angel's my favorite player. Kaylin's my favorite player. Asia's my favorite player.
Starting point is 01:12:48 Everybody's gonna have a favorite player. It doesn't mean that you like this player and you hate that player. You just happen to have a favorite player that you like. I wanna see her do well. For me, I wanna see all of them do well. I wanna see all of them get a bag. And that's exactly where the game is today.
Starting point is 01:13:08 But I think it's OK to be like, no, I'm rocking with her all day long. They just not have it. It just seems like they don't want to have the real conversation. And it's just easier to say. When you say they, who's they? The public, the media that is enticing black versus white.
Starting point is 01:13:32 This is way bigger than black and white. Let's just say without saying it, this WNBA that's being pushed kind of reminds the sponsors and the WNBA of the original group, your group that started. These two groups remind them of where the game started. And it's safe for them to push towards sponsorship. But explain that. You don't want to explain it? And there's the it's safe for them to push towards You don't want to explain it no, I'm saying because some people might be like what in the hell is he talking about
Starting point is 01:14:16 Your era what is your era? What your era of the W? Yo, you Lisa Leslie, who was being pushed in? Yeah. Huh? I mean, it was a handful of players. Can you tell me those are handful of players? It was a handful of players. Who were the faces of the WNBA when the Leafs won? No, I would say myself, Lisa, Rebecca.
Starting point is 01:14:42 They had Rebecca in a lot. Come on, come on, who didn't we see that was? What'd you say? You said they had Rebecca in there a lot. Yeah, Rebecca was in a lot of promotional stuff. Yeah, promotional stuff, huh? Who was that? Who was the what?
Starting point is 01:14:59 Nothing. What, I don't know, are asking me to say something. Come on here, Sherri, Fuck your tongue, Sherry! Tell us about your games! I mean, because there was other players that was probably playing that wasn't being featured like you guys were, right? Explain what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:15:13 I'm just saying. Then there was other players. He's just confused. There was other players that was like, I'm just saying, there was other players that was balling too, right? That didn't probably fit the criteria. Yeah, it was a lot of balling.
Starting point is 01:15:22 It didn't just fit the criteria of what the WNBA was trying to put. Oh, you're talking about an image. Image, yeah. Oh, there was absolutely an image that the WNBA was like, these are the players that we want to push and promote. Does this NBA right? Oh, 100%.
Starting point is 01:15:38 It kind of reminds you of, OK. No doubt. Right. No doubt. And it's easier to say black and white versus image This image oh it sells better Then it did in the last couple years the first like when if we say all right This is about white white America. Why is Caitlin Clark?
Starting point is 01:16:01 You can sell her mm-hmm she has boyfriend. You can sell family to your kids. That's the image you guys want to push. And that hasn't really been a secret. Like if you... Well, to the public it's been a secret, not to the W. Yes and no, because if you are... Like if you've been a fan from day one, right, when the W first started,
Starting point is 01:16:23 you can go and find stuff and hear people talking about, like, the image that the league is promoting or the image that they see when they come to games. And a lot of fans who have said, eh, like, I don't really go to games because I don't like the image that I see or that the league is promoting. So to your point, I think one of the biggest differences
Starting point is 01:16:49 now is that the league is actually promoting more players because they like the image that these players are portraying today. Yeah, for sure. But when you say too that players are not able to promote themselves as well, building strong social media, a robust following. 100%.
Starting point is 01:17:04 That wasn't necessarily, when you first got back in league back and then you didn't really have those resources to do that. Well, and social media plays a big part of that. Because you look at Angel, social media is a lot, right? Taking the me bounds, everything. She understands it. Everything she had going on in college. She understands.
Starting point is 01:17:19 But the other thing with Angel too, not only does she understand it, like Angel has a personality. Yeah, personality. Angel has a personality. Yeah, personality. Angel has a personality that people, whether you like what she does on the basketball court or not, Angel is going to always be Angel. For sure. So whatever she's doing off the court, she remains 100% true to who she is. And I think what she has found is just by being herself, like brands are all over that. So when you talk about opportunity and
Starting point is 01:17:58 things that have come her way and Asia and Caitlin and Rekia, like just so many of the different players. I think what brands see with Angel is that they really connect with her because Angel is, Angel's big in the community and her personality comes through. And to me, that's why I think she, and we talked about this, Gil,
Starting point is 01:18:21 I think Angel Reese could potentially be from a financial standpoint, Angel Reese could potentially be the biggest, highest paid WNBA player ever. I think she has that ability to be that. The only person that is going to really challenge that will be like a Juju, because she has the look, the skill, the charisma. But when you're talking about marketing value, when you're trying to sell a product, and I'm trying to sell something.
Starting point is 01:18:54 When I'm trying to sell something. I love Juju, she is too quiet. Yeah, no, but I mean, she's quiet, but when you're talking about all that stuff, when I'm trying to sell a product, and I'm looking in the W right now, I'm looking for the injuries. Because know she's going to go out there and sell the product. That's what this is all about. I can put her on McDonald's, I can put her on this, I can put on
Starting point is 01:19:17 MX, I can do that. She's going to sell the product in so many different styles. Like you brought up, people are coming for for Rebound and she's like, oh, okay, let me go trademark this and let me get a bag off of this. Thank you. Like her, her people, they absolutely, they, she gets it. Is she pretty? I wanna say one thing real quick, Swaggy. You were talking about-
Starting point is 01:19:39 She is a beautiful black woman. She's pretty. You were talking about the Angel Reese's Puff. Like worst case scenario. I said Reese's Pieces. No, you said Wheaties first. I said I got Wheaties. Reese's Pieces. talking about the Angel Reese's Puffs. Worst case scenario. I said Reese's Pieces. No, you said Wheaties first. I said I got Wheaties. Reese's Pieces.
Starting point is 01:19:48 OK, but Angel Reese's Puffs. I said Nasty Cereal. Angel Reese's Puffs are very delicious. I said Reese's Pieces, motherfucker. You said the cereal. Worst case scenario, she can get famous off of Instagram modeling. Yep.
Starting point is 01:20:00 That's the value. So Reese's Puffs are delicious. And it's so big. See, at Breast always. Which the WNBA side on the black woman side never tapped into their sexuality and being sexy. It's like, no, I want you to like respect me for basketball. She's like, I don't give a fuck about, you don't respect me for all of me.
Starting point is 01:20:19 This side and the basketball side. So that's why it's like, that's why she's getting everything. She's willing to, I'm be on sports center. I'm going to be on. She is. Like, she's like the girl next door. Cardi B going to hang with her. And she's not using the old slogan of, no, respect me for my hooping ability. She is who she is. She's cool.
Starting point is 01:20:40 But back to what we said earlier, when it first started, right? The W first started, the league had this idea of what they wanted the players to look like or be like. And so we all were like, we are here for our talent, right? We want y'all to respect us and what we do on the basketball court. So all of the extra stuff and the stuff you see today from and not just Angel, like Rekia Jackson to me is a beautiful black woman. And she dresses well, she don't mind showing skin. Like the stuff that they do today, we all were like, mm-mm.
Starting point is 01:21:17 I want a hoop. Yeah, like not about to do that. Our legs too out, girl. Right? No, we weren't. we were like, mm-mm. No, y'all ain't about to see none of that. The only time you gonna see the legs is when we're on the court playing. That was more respectful back then.
Starting point is 01:21:34 Well, that's what we were like, the league had just started, and so, like we wanted people to respect the talent. Like what we brought and what we did on the court. Not even, honestly not even thinking about Well, we can do both But we have But do you like this shit sure do you like this shift nowadays we see the pregame photo shoot before the game
Starting point is 01:22:00 I love all of it. I listen I Do there was something off when there was a white dude on Instagram He was going through Goes through like teams and just smash your past. Oh, yeah, and I'm sitting here like he's a deafening That's that's that's what's unique. That's what has been happening where you're opening up outside of just your sport. People who don't watch basketball is intrigued.
Starting point is 01:22:36 Golfers. That's when you become a different athlete. When people who don't even watch the sport is sitting there commentating looking through Instagram looking through your photos it makes you look like I didn't know she had on back then back then I've seen the lids one time. I'm sitting here like Liz Cambridge No, I noticed before this was Hey, hey, you about to work out? Shit. Where you work out at? I'm trying to get some shots up. I'm trying to get some shots up.
Starting point is 01:23:27 I didn't know how to talk to him. I didn't even want to work out. I didn't put you through a workout. I didn't work out. How do you talk to these WBs? Oh my god. I didn't want to get in the gym. I don't know how we got here, but it was all part of a larger
Starting point is 01:23:39 conversation. That's how it started, though. Like, you're sitting sitting there open up a new Way of trying to communicate like D. I know I know DMs is popping right now skims magazine came out Go oh No, I love my phone at home. I gotta go. Oh, no, no, no, no. I left my phone. You talking about DMs and shit. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Too often. I left my phone. Hey, hey, hey, Kiana. Nah, I gotta go home. Kiana. Nah, wait. Password. Password.
Starting point is 01:24:17 I just realized I ain't got my phone. Password. I got to go. Password is Swaggy2424. I gotta go. I got to go. DMs ain't gonna go to my phone, and I don't have it. Password. It could be a car. Nah, it wasn't. ago Listen when you go to the home screen
Starting point is 01:24:44 Hold the hold the top corner, but hold a cop. it gonna open up a lock box and then Go it off Do what I told you man, it don't matter Whatever she's already been two hours three The reason you don't need to rush home. Whatever she sees that's your replacement Right. Oh, no The girls And guess what those those niggas is gonna get new ones.
Starting point is 01:25:25 What? It ain't no child support. What? No, what I'm saying is the White Howard gonna get a new one. He's the rich one. Where she gonna go, Nick? Where she going? I'm gonna be working for free.
Starting point is 01:25:41 I'll be here working for free. She ain't going nowhere. Just tell the story. She ain't going nowhere. Just tell her story. She ain't going nowhere, brother. All she gonna have is, as soon as you leave the house, memories of what she done seen. Girls, poppin' and droppin' it. Hell no.
Starting point is 01:25:56 He is really about to leave. I'm about to go. We got about an hour left. We really appreciate it if you stayed. You don't get your full check unless you stay We're gonna talk a little more in a second I'm sorry. No, I'm sorry. Why y'all think Brandon over there think like this nigga dumb. Stupid. Dumb.
Starting point is 01:26:27 Brandon over there like this nigga dumb. I'm just like get out of here. I know. I would've hauled that. Listen, you ask the party people, oh I left my phone at home? Cool, I ain't gonna do shit anyway. You want to run home, let you know you're guilty. No, I'm talking about I just need to use the car. I got important shit to do.
Starting point is 01:26:46 You have important part of me. He's a businessman. I'm a businessman. Guilty ass man. We have Veerdorf, of course. We'll stay a little bit Veerdorf. But Mr. B, question for you. We'll get back to Angel in a second.
Starting point is 01:26:59 But you talked about you being one of the first players ever to go high school, overseas that route, being a trendsetter. Now we look back on it helps bond and lead to a generation of players getting paid and things like that. But what was the narrative around yourself when that first happened? Because I remember back in those days and people weren't really fucking with you. Yeah, no kind of had you labeled as a troublemaker outcast and all those
Starting point is 01:27:18 type of things. Yeah. I mean, wait, was they wrong? What? No, no, this is the creator of Tough Crowd. All the trouble you've been getting into, all the trouble you've been getting into lately. The money just enhances trouble.
Starting point is 01:27:30 All the trouble this man been causing in the goddamn media. So we had somebody on the show, Jay Billis, at the time. He came on the show, but yeah, he was definitely one of the ones that was criticizing, saying that he didn't like the fact that I didn't skipped out on college and didn't want to care about my education and things like that. So, but with that,
Starting point is 01:27:48 you know, I just knew that, you know, a lot was on my shoulders and I had to just make sure I stayed the whole year and come back. So once we once once I stayed and I came back, I picked 10th, you know, it was all worth it. But I mean that's part of everything when you're starting something new. Oh, man, thank you. You know, the first to do something. You skipped college but you were studying abroad. Yeah life. Yeah, you're studying abroad. Fashion. I remember when like social media was they hated me posting pictures and all that. No, no. Now they want you to do it. Yeah, they want you to brand it. I mean, I'll be honest with you. Nick not focused for posting all the time
Starting point is 01:28:28 and getting deals and stuff. Yeah, I ain't going for us. Swag was one of the first ones that we saw coming from LA that had a girl on his hip that was famous and in Forever 21, Aqabel, all type of shit. So that was different for us. They brought me in the locker in the office, Nick. Once they seen the Forever 21 campaign, they was like, are you fucking with me?
Starting point is 01:28:48 Nick, the first one, I really see the benefits from all that. My biggest deal, I turned down because it was taboo at the time where Cheetos came to me. Oh, liquor. Yeah, Cheetos came to me to partner up and invest in it. And I was like, oh, I don't drink. We can't, I can't sponsor liquor. We gotta sponsor water, Gatorade, vitamin water.
Starting point is 01:29:10 So I turned it down, now it's a thing. Tito's, man, you could have been. Because back then, what brands you connect yourself with with this image. Right, he could have been Daily Sirat. He said, you wouldn't be doing this. Definitely wouldn't have been doing this. Tito's and baby oil?
Starting point is 01:29:28 More baby oil! More baby oil! Diddy! You love to be with little D-Lo little Diddy. We drinking Tito's over here right now. Nigga, iPhone died. We drinking Tito's over here. You go too hard on iPhone.
Starting point is 01:29:44 Alright, now let's get back to the basketball side and talk about Angel. So far this season, Angel's averaging 14 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, nearly two steals per game, shooting 45% from the field. So Cheryl, when you look at what Angel's been able to do on the court in her sophomore season, second straight All-Star selection,
Starting point is 01:30:01 averaging a double-double, nine straight double-doubles. What is Angel showing you right now? I mean, you know, offensively, and I've said this to Angel before, I think she understands like what her strength is, but absolutely what she needs to work on. Rebounding to me is like it's a want to and it's hard and you gotta wanna go get it and that's what Angel is. Angel knows from an offensive standpoint, like she's not the player that's just gonna come down
Starting point is 01:30:37 and give you 30 a night, just from running an offense. But people wanna talk about, a lot of her rebounds are her own misses well box her ass out! I've made that commentary. But I'm saying aren't you taught to go follow your shot and get your rebound? Yes. So if you don't want her to get her own rebound box her out.
Starting point is 01:31:00 But they say it's easy for her to get her own rebound really? It ain't though. It ain't. People act like rebound it it rebounded is hard Effort like you got a one and go do that like that's not easy But also when you look at the players that angel is going up against at her position night in and night out That shit ain't easy It's just her her heart her effort her want to but what I what I do like is
Starting point is 01:31:24 She didn't let the beginning of the season, the way she was playing, she wasn't shooting the ball well, not scoring, like she wasn't herself. But she didn't allow that to get in her head and get her down. And I just, I think the way Angel's playing right now, if she can continue to play this way,
Starting point is 01:31:41 alongside Camila Cardoso. Ariel Atkins is playing really well for them right now. Chicago is one of the teams that's fighting for that eighth playoff spot. Currently 10th in WNB Estandard. I don't know. I wouldn't count them out if they can continue to play the way they're playing right now. This is the one thing that people don't realize. You're judging two sophomores.
Starting point is 01:32:06 Just in a sophomore. That means this is the worst that they're gonna be in the next four or five years. So when you're talking about she can't make layups, today she's gonna get better at layups and rebounding. She's a amateur rebounder. She's not the elite yet in her mind. When she becomes the elite,
Starting point is 01:32:31 she's gonna be sitting at 18 and 19 a game. Meaning every rebound that's in that game, she's gonna be cleaning all that up. So there's gonna be a year where she's sitting at 19 and 19, 20 and 20, 25 and 19. She's gonna be a year where she's sitting at 19 and 19 20 and 20 25 and 19 Then she's gonna have that yeah, that could be next season Damn near for sure season 4 season 4. She's gonna be sitting at 22 and 18 Indy easily
Starting point is 01:33:00 If the team is winning If the team is winning, MVP. That's what that's gonna look like because she's ultra dominant in one area right now. And she's working on the other one, averaging 14, 15. So once that matches the rebound, then what do you have? And that's what people don't say. It's just easy to say, oh, I mean, you know. I guess most people don't say it's just it's just it's just easy to sell I mean you know I guess but they think rebounding is easy like that's
Starting point is 01:33:31 this like I'm just saying I know I do anything but they think anything is easy I think I think they don't think anything is easy when she starts playing well because they got to find something right so she's finding her hits she's finding something that she's really good at now is like oh nah Like that like that ain't good enough. It's like her missus come cuz she's in a hurry She gets it. She just wants a hurry. Yes. Yeah, it's more once she realizes. Let me get it down All right, let me give you let me give you that bowl to that point right?
Starting point is 01:34:02 I don't want you so fine. She's like Okay, if I miss it, I'm just gonna go get my own rebound. So she just rushes. Yes You just rushes it instead of just like I mean clear out. Yeah, they're missing. What's her name though that play? She's back now The guard that The guard that put in and out that we saw Black ball, oh, she's my opinion Listen yo, I saw her last year. I should be playing in the league
Starting point is 01:34:49 Kennedy Carter is very good at basketball Kennedy easily Easily is a top three guard in the league. Kennedy Carter is very good at basketball. Kennedy easily, easily is a top three guard in the league. You know Mr. B gets excited, I think Kelsey Mitchell we went and saw the fever play this part, but you know he's about to when he starts standing up screaming on the court. Kelsey Mitchell's nice too. Waited in the tunnel as they went in, had to let them know what was going down. Let's go. Give direction and guidance. But before we move on, Swaggy, you talked about not having your phone. We asked the chat to Swaggy go get his phone.
Starting point is 01:35:12 54% of the chat said go get his phone. Man, thank y'all. Woo, nigga, I tell you all the time. We asked underdog if Swaggy would get paid if he went to go get his phone. 100% of underdog said no bread well something to say you know we're almost out we're almost we're 44 minutes away we need you y'all don't want me here we need you swagger uh so what could that do and get shot y'all don't know a guilt has a bulletproof vest up here in the kitchen that's what underneath the apple juices. But what I gotta do.
Starting point is 01:35:46 2025 WMA All-Star Festivities are coming up this weekend in Nap Town. So we decided to look up a throwback picture of the very first ever WMA All-Star game which Cheryl played in back in the year, our Lord 1999. Let's take a look. First ever WMA All-Star game.
Starting point is 01:36:01 The best pictures, bro. Yo, the ziangle front. Hey, hey, hey, the ziangle front! Yo, these are the best jerseys. Those are the best. Yo, these the best. Yo, we got to find these jerseys. I got the Wizard one. I see.
Starting point is 01:36:11 I got the Missing one. You got the which one? I think it was the McCray. I got McCray. I got a McCray. Oh, you got Nicki? Mm-hmm. I need all them jerseys.
Starting point is 01:36:19 Wow. Man, that's hard. These jerseys are tough. Tiffia Cooper, very excited to be in the show. No tat. Oh, we got one tat. We got one tat. Wait a minute, you said Coop's face. She's very excited. Cooper, very excited. No tats. Oh, we got one tats. We got one tats. Wait a minute. You said Cooper's fake.
Starting point is 01:36:27 She's very excited. We just got one tats. We got all of our beautiful sisters. Oh, let me see. Who are the tats? Who are the tats? I can't. Bottom.
Starting point is 01:36:35 Bottom where? Oh, yeah. Bottom right there. All white. White bottom sitting down. Oh, Shannon Johnson? Yeah, Pee Wee. Okay, that's the AI.
Starting point is 01:36:43 There are other tats in that picture. The AI effect. We just can't see her, you know? that's the AI. There are other tats in that picture. The AI effect. We just can't see her, you know? It's the AI effect. OK, so we see this first ever W and A also. The AI effect. Oh, that was my favorite.
Starting point is 01:36:53 Ruthie, you better point to me over there. Yeah, for sure. Of course, you guys were off the chance. You better go point to 22 over there. Yeah. I mean, they were point guards. You know, they were guards. I see the finger.
Starting point is 01:37:04 I wanted to slide it over a little bit. But sure, obviously you started that game. I had eight points, you know they were point guards, you know they were guards. I see the finger, I wanted to slide it over a little bit. But sure obviously you started that game at 8 points, 8 rebounds. No goal, no goal, France. I like 21 here. No goal. Ain't no 21 Savage or something. No. Okay, alright.
Starting point is 01:37:18 That was way back in 99. No goal. That was in 99. No. Okay. No goal. What we call it? Wow. No gold. I was in 99. Okay. What do we call it?
Starting point is 01:37:28 Wow. 21 here. You can tell it's a 90s picture. Let me see if I can name it. So if you know what you gotta give us, Soob. You gotta give us your top 25 WNBA players all time. Top 25? That's easy. I got you.
Starting point is 01:37:44 Yeah, we gotta do a a top 25. Yeah, we got to. We have top 25. Okay, put her on the spot. The research prep, cultural impact, overall relevancy. VJ, Spoon, Rebecca, Gil. Got a little coop in there. She from my hood. Yeah, like, coop from my hood. She grew up right next door to me.
Starting point is 01:38:01 So, Cheryl, you... She's trying to say she remember all of them. Uh-huh, uh-huh. Keisha, Ruthie, Sandy, Keisha. Uh-uh. Tina. Peely. Yeah, I got it. I was trying to make sure I knew all of them.
Starting point is 01:38:13 I couldn't remember everybody. Belinda, Belinda, Michelle. Damn, Niko. I grew up right next door to me. Reese. So, Cheryl, you started that game. 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 19 minutes of action. That's it?
Starting point is 01:38:24 Your West team won, 79 to 61. That's what? Your West team won, 70, nine to 61. That's what I'm saying, I feel like a little freeze out. There's probably some low-key hating going, like everybody trying to be the star. I knew we won. Everybody trying to be the star. What do you remember about playing in the first ever WMA All-Star game at the 1999?
Starting point is 01:38:36 That Whitney Houston sang the National Anthem. Oh, wow. Madison Square Garden. And that was 18,000 that was still let me say that again people didn't think people came no get it off 18,000 That wasn't a good that was Bobby At the guard yeah, I was Bobby Whitney Houston. Oh, it wasn't it wasn't Like all right, it wasn't a bodyguard What?
Starting point is 01:39:06 Whitney Houston. When she was singing, I was saying. That was a good one. It was pre-bodyguard, I think. It was Whitney Houston. Bob Whitney Houston. Oh, shit. That was good.
Starting point is 01:39:17 That was good, Whitney. I got that with you. What? Thanks, man. Bodyguard came out in 1992. No, you said something about like people that, no these, back then these are the bigger numbers. No but I'm saying like people today, like the new fans are like oh nobody came to watch. But no they did. No yeah that's, like people don't, if they've been,
Starting point is 01:39:39 if they're Kaylin Carp fans, the record she's kinda getting close to is these viewers. That happened from 96 to 99. No, for this All-Star game, and because I wanted the exact number, matter of fact, I think it was 18,369 people came to this game. That's a nice, in the garden. You remember.
Starting point is 01:39:56 Oh, that's. Well, I had to look up the exact number. Okay, obviously, you could have just played it off like you had it right there. Yeah, no. I knew it was 18,000, but I needed the exact number. That's what I do with the computer. No, I mean, just in the garden, you know?
Starting point is 01:40:07 That was like part of the historic. Liberty was, that must have been fucking y'all up, because them Liberty in them comics. What'd you say about the Liberty? Liberty in the comics, y'all got all of them. Oh yeah. It's five real. I think you just picked up another Liberty.
Starting point is 01:40:21 The Miracle's got something on there. They got three too. Who, the Miracle, you said the Miracle? Yeah. Yeah, they got Taj, Isha, just picked up another Liberty. They got three, too. Who? Is it the Miracle? Yeah. Yeah, they got Taj, Isha, and Peewee. Liberty got four? Liberty got four? Damn.
Starting point is 01:40:32 Three. They got four. They got four. Four. Four. Top of everybody. Oh, yeah. Kim.
Starting point is 01:40:37 Is that Kim? Kim, VJ, Spoon, and Rebecca. Yeah. Phoenix got two. But not Daryl Cruz. Nah, she had three, too. That got three. That's Cynthia Cooper. Very happy to beat her. Yeah Cynthia Cooper very happy to beat her So sure from 1999 to now 2025 which have been like for you to see now the growth of this league and them Carrying the torch of the trail that y'all blazed listen, it's been wonderful for me to see and I'll tell you what I'm really excited about is
Starting point is 01:41:15 like finally the women are like we have a voice and When you bring that voice together collectively like they can fight for anything. With the new CBA that's coming up and the league already came back with something and the players are like, oh hell no, that's disrespectful. I just, I love where we are as far as viewership,
Starting point is 01:41:39 sponsorships, more opportunity, which we just talked about. The league is absolutely in a great place and I think it's headed for an amazing place. So I'm excited to see it. All Star game should be cracking this weekend. Nikki McCray. Any rules that you have changed to make the game more exciting?
Starting point is 01:41:58 Rules that I would change? Physical play, man's own. So I have a question and I don't know how many games y'all watch. Do you think the game is physical? You think the WB is physical? More physical today or back in the day? The game is not physical to me. I don't feel like it's similar to all of us.
Starting point is 01:42:20 Overall, I don't think the game is as physical today as it was back then. No, I mean, OK, so rules like impeding movement. Y'all kind of still have that in y'all game. Which if you take away impeding a movement where someone that's stronger than you can't knock you off your spot, the more skilled players now have room to do what they do. So like somebody like Mitchell would just be, like she will become dominant dominant.
Starting point is 01:42:53 That's supposed to be a rule. Oh, okay. So what I was gonna say to your question was just the inconsistency from the refs. Like, I don't think the refs really truly know how to call our game, if I'm being very honest. Because we're supposed to have that rule, where you're not supposed to put two hands, you can't bump them off of, you know, when they're making a move, and it's just very inconsistent.
Starting point is 01:43:17 Cannot. Should the Reels be lowered to nine feet? No. Swaggy. No. I don't want you to get swaggy. No, I'm not trying to be a busy. Just because your son played on eight.
Starting point is 01:43:29 No, they got smaller basketballs, right? No. No. But a lot of people have said that. But shouldn't the Reels be lower? No. It's a nine or nine-ass. No.
Starting point is 01:43:37 To do what? The dunk. But there are women who can dunk, though. Why does a dunk matter? I'm just saying. No, I'm. You're a seed. every time I hear that. It comes down like, furry.
Starting point is 01:43:48 No, on somebody else's face. It looks great, it looks great. But here's the thing though. He said for entertainment purposes. But there are women who can dunk. No, no, no, no, for whose entertainment? For people watching. Who, who?
Starting point is 01:44:01 No, he's saying if they learn the course, they'll come down and who, who? How is that a bit offensive if the ball is small? No, what I'm just, no, he's saying if they learn the course, they won't come down and say, for who? But how is that a bit inoffensive if the ball is small? No, what I'm saying is, for who? What group? My daughter can't dunk. She probably would. But my daughter can't dunk.
Starting point is 01:44:15 None of my daughters at any age could dunk for them to be excited about a girl dunking. That's a good thing. She could throw a lot. That is my question. No, what I'm saying is, the group them to be excited about a girl dunking. That's the thing to go along. That is my question though. The group that watches them that they need to be focused on is women and little girls.
Starting point is 01:44:34 They don't give a shit about them. They really don't care for little girls. You're talking for yourself to see a woman dunk. No one cares. Just cause in general, the ball is smaller. What I'm saying is 98%. The ball is smaller. 99 I'm saying is 98% 99.9% of the girls that's playing won't be able to dunk
Starting point is 01:44:51 for you to lower the rim for them to be dunking. I don't need to see the girls dunk, but it would be cool to see them dunk. You, you see them dunk. No, it's coming from a man. All right, so one thing is wrong, but the other thing is right What I'm saying is a man or a smaller ball is right and uh, uh, their hands are smaller
Starting point is 01:45:14 You just ask your own damn question What is the average size of a woman playing basketball meaning if you lower it to seven foot 90% of them still can't dunk. On a seven foot? Yeah. Yeah. Well, no, but my question is, the fan base can't dunk. Like, the fan base can't dunk. Like, if they lower, if they lower the rim, and I don't know how many women, honestly, I don't know how many women though would really care about dunking. Like even if they lower at the rim. So my question is, do you, are you asking that because you're like if they lower the rim that's gonna make the game more entertaining? No, I'm just saying why did you change some things and not all things like the... So changing the size of the ball, they should have lowered the rim.
Starting point is 01:46:05 So, you think they should have made the three-point line closer? No, keep it the same. The three-point line is what, high school? No. It's not NBA. No, but it's WNBA. Like, it's farther... See, that's what I'm saying. Everything is different.
Starting point is 01:46:20 It's farther than college. No, it's farther than college. Oh, okay. Oh. But everything is different beside It's farther than college. No, it's farther than college. Oh, okay. But everything is different beside that, right there. So why, besides dunking, why do you think they should lower the rim? I'm just asking because you're not the first person that asked that question. It would? Not more, but it would add to it. It feel like it's still...
Starting point is 01:46:48 What are you doing? It's just, I don't know, it'll give y'all a chance to do everything on the floor. Not saying that y'all don't, but you can't change. I feel like if you change one thing, you should make everything even out there. You're going to change everything. Well, I would tell you... Because if you feel like y'all... 99% of the players are like, no, we don't want the rim lowered.
Starting point is 01:47:15 Okay. And... Because they, like, a lot of people have asked that question, like, why don't they throw a rim so the rim doesn't dunk for? But, like, the women are like I don't really give a shit if we dunk or not I'm not saying you can't shoot for an NBA logo but you bring it through here not saying you can't shoot with a regular-sized ball but you made the ball smaller and Sabrina shot from the NBA
Starting point is 01:47:37 3.0 and strength and that goes into just like just like just like just like your son probably plays with a six and a half ball. Hands and strength. Yes. Okay. Hands and strength. So you need... Not jumping ability.
Starting point is 01:47:52 So you made the balls smaller. I've asked 200 girls. You made the balls smaller. I've asked 200 girls. Instead of the basketball. Girls basketball. Listen, 200 girls in girls basketball, do you want to see women dunk? And they said, no, why?
Starting point is 01:48:02 I can see men dunk. Yeah, yeah. I can see men dunk. Why do I want to? I want to dunk women dunk? And they said, no, why? I can see men dunk. Yeah. Yeah. I can see men dunk. Why do I want to die? I can't dunk. The thing is, even with the rim being at the height, there are women currently in the WNBA that can dunk.
Starting point is 01:48:14 It just doesn't happen. The women that can dunk will posterize some people out there at nine feet. If it was nine feet. That's what I'm saying. I want them to think about that. That's what I'm saying. I mean, that definitely come down off the thing.
Starting point is 01:48:26 Definitely come down with more than just the thing. They wouldn't think just lay all the time, even though they don't have to. I know. I agree with that. I just don't think that's something that really matters to us. Slapping back. Yeah, but back in the day, they used to tell us not to dunk,
Starting point is 01:48:42 too. You know what I'm saying? It's the fan. And then it became a favorite. You know what I I'm saying it's the fan and it became a favorite No, I'm saying it's the fan base if the fan base and I is women I don't need it and your consumer is women you have to actually think about them Everyone who says we want to see you dunk is us Yeah us we're saying it because we think if you're dunking, we will watch you.
Starting point is 01:49:05 They have a problem. They have a problem with women watching. No. They're getting them now. They're watching us dunk too. Of course. All right. So they will watch them dunk too?
Starting point is 01:49:15 No, no. I don't hear women coming out saying, I want to see the WNBA girls dunk. But I'm just saying, they didn't want to see us dunk back in the day. Things changed. People evolved. Who said that? People involved. Bill Russell wasn't able to dunk. They wasn't able to dunk.
Starting point is 01:49:32 They wasn't able to dunk. But they could dunk. They wasn't able but they could. Once they start dunking. If you're Lauren and the women 99% of the people can't dunk and then the youth that's watching and none of them can even fan them dunking It's an irrelevant thing. So do you think they should raise the NBA room? Too many people dunking It's 29 the ball the same size easy The ball the same size The ball no the ball. They didn't change the ball. They didn't change the ball. They didn't change the ball.
Starting point is 01:50:28 I didn't make it, boy. She said that. Don't get mad at me. He controlled the smoke machine. He didn't like the smoke shit. He didn't like that smoke shit. He didn't like that smoke shit. I just thought that was a great point. Should they put the rim up?
Starting point is 01:50:44 Should they put the rim up? Should they put the rim up a little bit? Why is that smoke? Why is that smoke? I'm just saying, you said they did change the ball a little bit. They did move the rim. They did move the three-point line here. They did.
Starting point is 01:51:04 Oh my God, y'all are funny. You said You said they did I know I'm right You've been right all your life I You lost! Say it again, shit! Your whole... I'm not! Say it again, shit! They call you all the time, man! Say it again! You said, what was that? The moon! The moon! The best rip!
Starting point is 01:51:51 The Tozer one! The Tozer one! The almighty high! The whole... Y'all are funny! You're funny! He said, let there be smoke! That's like number one!
Starting point is 01:51:59 Y'all are funny! I'm just saying it! Y'all are funny! Y'all are funny! Like She made a good He don't like being cut. He ain't like that smoke. He ain't like that smoke. He ain't like that smoke. He did not like that smoke. That's what triggered. What the fuck is that smoke?
Starting point is 01:52:34 Why is that smoke? So we asked the chat should the WNBA lower the rim. 52% said no, but 48% did say yes. So there are some among us who believe in you. But let's keep this thing moving back to the NBA. You lost. Back to the NBA. I waited till 52.
Starting point is 01:52:49 It was 50. Back to 50. 50, 50? You're right. You're right. Two people in the back. OK, let me help this point out. Y'all are funny.
Starting point is 01:52:58 Gotta help Jesus. So back to the NBA. I'm going to get a good laugh when I come out here. So Cheryl. We gotta help Jesus be right. Y'all are funny. So Celtics lost Jason Tatum to an Achilles injury during the playoffs.
Starting point is 01:53:09 Made some major moves this offseason trading. Drew Holliday and Chris Stapps, poor Zingus, likely not resigning Al Horford to dump enough salary to get under the second apron. But according to reports, Jason Tatum is looking to add more star power to the roster and has been actively recruiting Dame Lillard to the Celtics. As you know, Dame also suffered
Starting point is 01:53:27 an Achilles injury this postseason. So both their timelines uncertain right now whether they can return later next season, if at all next season. But what's your reaction to Jason Tatum recruiting Damien Lillard to the Celtics? Dumb. Hmm?
Starting point is 01:53:42 Did you say dumb? Dumb. Not a bad idea. That's a dumb idea. Why? Damn Well 30 how old about 35 36 so he the same age as a drew Damien little 35 years old actually 35 today. Happy birthday So, actually, he turned 35 today. Happy birthday to him.
Starting point is 01:54:03 Oh, happy birthday! Happy birthday, James! Happy birthday, James, 35 years old. Happy birthday, boy. You made it. It depends on what you bring him in for. Happy birthday. I just feel like.
Starting point is 01:54:13 I wouldn't bring him in another place after Drew Holiday. You went to the Bucks thinking you was gonna win a championship and replace Drew Holiday and then work out. You come to Boston, it's gonna be another narrative of the same thing. And you older after Achilles tear at 35, it's a lot of pressure on you. He toured at 34.
Starting point is 01:54:37 How old is he? He's 35 today. I'm sorry, God. I'm sorry, God. Hey. I'm sorry, God. I'm sorry, God. You said toured at 35. I'm just saying. I'm sorry, God. I'm sorry, God. You said, you said, toward at 35.
Starting point is 01:54:47 I'm just saying. I'm wrong. No, I'm saying you said toward at 35. He was 34 when he did it. Forgive my sins. I'm sorry. You better go ahead. Oh, happy day.
Starting point is 01:55:00 Listen, I like it because I, I mean, I don't mind it because the way Boston plays and they shoot a lot of threes and dame being at his age You know you lose the holiday on what road though. Do we start? Yeah for sure because you got because Jason's not back you lose your holiday I mean, yeah, but but they but they probably come back with last 30 games One is 27 was older so yeah, but I just think the way they system the way they play to shoot threes He would fit in very well with you know, like they all everybody shoot three So I mean see if you got Derek White able to shoot 11 threes You tell me dame little can't shoot 11 threes in that in that yeah, but here's my question. Do you do you go after Dane knowing that it's probably going to be another year before he's ready to play?
Starting point is 01:55:53 He come back the last what? He ain't playing next year. No. No, he'll play this year. But then, knowing though, how healthy is he going to be? He'll play towards the end. You're signing up for one year, when you're not gonna play this year, nor Dame.
Starting point is 01:56:08 It's pointless. That's what I'm saying. Even if you come back at the end of the year, both of you, you're not gonna be championship contenders. So you're gonna have to sign him back, then follow him here anyway. So Dame stretched by the bucks. You see a world where Celtics could get him at a discount
Starting point is 01:56:23 for two years while he Recovers and have maybe for next year. So I can wait I can wait next year. Okay, you can wait next year I mean, I'm not what I'm saying is I'm recruiting but I'm not playing anyway, and he's not playing so After that summer that we're both gonna come back I can have that conversation We can train with each other and boom we're good And is there a world where Dame may be looking for a discount to have the opportunity to play for a championship level contending squad like the Celtics can be? The discount, he got his money.
Starting point is 01:56:50 There's no discount, he got his money and... But now he wants some more. He's going to, no, it's not, I want some more, he's gonna get some more. Yeah, he don't get more, for sure. If I'm him, I'm rehabbing, getting in shape, putting my shit together, I don't even know
Starting point is 01:57:05 if he makes a move this year, because he don't YouTube. And then next summer when he's fully healthy, and he's showing up and we gonna see him posting, and then from there, where does Dane go? Now he becomes one of those top three agents that everybody forgot about. But Boston would be a good fit.
Starting point is 01:57:45 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Man, all that. Because you got white, because you got white, you got brown, and you got Tatum, and you got who else back there? Somebody else that said don't know yet. You got the same thing. You don't need, everybody don't need a guy that play no defense. Right. So you need defense. That was the Bucks' fault.
Starting point is 01:57:58 That's why they didn't win. When? Because of injury. Because Giannis was hurt. Giannis was hurt Yannis was hurt Yannis was hurt I'm gonna tell your cousins your family in Milwaukee play defense in Milwaukee every time we talk bucks your family in Milwaukee his mr. BSS I get no non-contact and then call me before one for a go make the family reunion this year so before game got stretched away by the bucks there were reports
Starting point is 01:58:23 that he wanted to rehab in Portland. Apparently the Bucs were not feeling that. But does it make any sense for Dame at all to sign with a team now at least to have that safety net of a team to rehab with all year to know where he's gonna be playing when he does come back? No, I'll wait right now. Or just red shirt this year and say fuck it. I mean I'll wait rehab. You know what I'm saying? There's no reason to, unless you know for sure that this is where you want to be. But you got to wait to see how the season plan out and where teams are at. Who was the? I want to do with rehab on his own.
Starting point is 01:58:55 Shit. Yeah, I mean, yeah. I mean, shit. I mean, yeah, shit. I've seen somebody come back from an Achilles at that age. You can afford it. It's hard. Have him come to your house.
Starting point is 01:59:04 No, no. So I've seen somebody come back with Achilles from that age. It's hard. Yeah, you're... So the difference is, Dame is going to have a harder time than Jason Tatum. Yeah, that's what I'm telling you. Jason Tatum, even without age, because it's not his dominant leg, so he's like KD, where he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, that's what I'm telling you. Jason Tatum, even without age, because it's not his dominant leg, so he's like KD, where it's his right leg, which he doesn't jump off of, so he keeps the same. Only thing that hurts him is what KD said, that side step from Jason Tatum, that side step jump, that's going to probably stop Jason Taylor from doing sidestep movement.
Starting point is 01:59:45 But up and down, he's not gonna be effective whatsoever. Dame will be, because all that coming through the lane, it's a strong leg, right? And Achilles takes away your jumping power. So he'll be effective, he'll be grounded a lot more in this play. Say boss. Take your time. Shoot 15 trees.
Starting point is 02:00:08 You gotta take your time. Shoot trees. Yeah. I'm not mad at those two, not this summer, but. Your next summer. Or not this summer, but the next summer, teaming up and saying, let's do this.
Starting point is 02:00:21 Dane gotta take his time. Don't rush back. Both. Obviously a lot of uncertainty with Dane gotta take his time. Don't rush back. Both. Obviously a lot of uncertainty with Dane coming back 35 years old, could potentially be 36. If he sits out this season and comes back the following season, but could you see Dane stepping into a reduced or six man role when he returns?
Starting point is 02:00:35 Or you think he's still gonna wanna be the man wherever he's at? For who? Hmm? For who? Who's over there for him to be a six man? I'm asking you, not even for the Celtics. Not for the Celtics, I'm saying. And Prichard's going to be bald.
Starting point is 02:00:54 It's still who? I mean, the answer is who? The Lakers got Dame, for example. The Lakers got Dame. He's coming off the bench. Backing up Ronnie. team, for example? If the Lakers got Dane and come off the bench to Austin Reaves. Yes. Papadi Lamar, yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:13 I don't see it, but I mean, it could happen, but I don't see it. But it could happen. I mean, there's only a certain team. Why would you go to a team that you're going to come off the bench for if you don't think you are in that spaceship? But if you think that team has the best option to give you a championship and you can plug in I've seen the greatest come back from that and not look the same I don't know. I got a way to the I gotta wait to the summer and see what options open
Starting point is 02:01:46 Don't wish back Take your time. I think it's the yeah more of the story. He came back in towards me right after like Seven games after trying to rush back. Oh Yeah, that was the year That's what I'm saying. It was like what what, December? It was like December, December like 6th, 16th? Yeah. So best move, keep your options open.
Starting point is 02:02:08 Obviously, be at your own timeline. Don't feel any rush or need to even actually come back this season. Just make sure when you do come back, you're ready to go. For sure. All right, well on the injury front, we're going to stay on that side. Good thing for Philly sports fans is that the Eagles won the Super Bowl because it was a rough year for the Sixers. Oh, as you were saying, Philly. It was rough for Philly sports fans that the Eagles won the Super Bowl because it was a rough year for the Sixers Oh, I thought you were saying Philly. It was rough for Philly The Eagles won the Super Bowl? Philly. But no, the Eagles won, but the Sixers. And then it was a rough time for Philadelphia. No smoke needed on the basketball friends. No, not basketball. The city took Ailes all through that motherfucker.
Starting point is 02:02:43 Nah. The whole city. He won the Super Bowl, though. He's sitting in. Besides. The good thing for Philly sports fans is that the Eagles won the Super Bowl. You take Philly out, so then everybody else, basketball, hockey, rapping, life, Philadelphia. The Phillies are number one.
Starting point is 02:03:01 Rapping. The quarterback. He's saying Philly football did good. Other than that. But after, the quarterback didn't go to the YL. He's just like, man. Anyway, this was a segment about these Sixers. Rappers, what happened to them?
Starting point is 02:03:16 I ain't giving a damn. If he was a rapper from Philly, how did that, it didn't look good for you that year. Boom. Uh-huh. AI and that little ass trophy. Boom. That was actually a good one. MB. Boom. Uh-huh. A.I. and that little ass trophy. Boom. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That
Starting point is 02:03:29 was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last year. That was last didn't come out last year. Cheesesteak? It did. Philly cheesesteaks are trash. Oh, Lousy did? That was nasty.
Starting point is 02:03:48 That was nasty. Man, Lousy. That album was trash. Mr. B, you said Philly cheesesteaks are trash? Oh my God, this guy. Where did you get the cheesesteaks, sir? I mean, when we went to, right there in Philly.
Starting point is 02:03:58 Where, but where? It's important. I'm like, used to deliver them. Not Pastor Gino. I'm Gino. I come out of New York, though. Oh, okay. Oh, okay, so I'm not, okay, so I'm not, okay. Then it Gino. I'm a meano. I come out of New York, though. Oh, OK. OK, so I'm not. OK, so I'm not.
Starting point is 02:04:07 OK. Then it is a New York cheesesteak. Better than Philly? I'm going to just be honest with you. I'm not as, I can't eat cheesesteaks. Yeah, like that shit is, that shit is disgusting. No, it's just not sick. Thank you.
Starting point is 02:04:19 I thought, I thought, I thought. It's got to be the right kind, though. I'm not the only one. What'd you put on yours? Like, Roger is, I mean, when we played there, they just gave us the Philly cheese. I just do meat bread and cheese I don't do all that. Did you get it from one of the like the tourist spots or did you go to a show? It ain't real steak. It's the project steak. It's rib eye. Rib eye they fine cut it. Ten pounds for one dollar that meat right and then and then there's bell peppers and onion
Starting point is 02:04:46 And then it's and then it's not real cheese. It's the government. It's the government. That sloppy joe cheese. Wait, you ever had government cheese? You know what I mean? Yeah. Like, grew up on government cheese.
Starting point is 02:04:55 Cheese whiz. No, I didn't grow up on government cheese. I did, too. Well, I shit that. It's constipated as shit. And total government cheese. Constipation cheese. The egg.
Starting point is 02:05:02 I was eating cheese. I was eating cheese. That's one thing I was not looking for. The filling cheese thing. It's like that add water cheese. Like that add like that. The shit your kids eat. You just add water and you just stir this shit up. Cause my kids eat that bullshit too.
Starting point is 02:05:18 Add water and you just stir it real good. I forgot. He can see all things. That powder. He can see all things through Christ. I was like, how did you know much? I forgot. You forgot. You forgot cheese.
Starting point is 02:05:30 Yeah, that cheese whiz. Yeah, that cheese whiz cheese. I'm sorry, guys. You don't have to get cheese whiz on your cheesesteak. Super sharp and very fine cheese. Phil, you can put whatever you want on your cheese. Yeah, Philly cheese. I'm going to let you know right now.
Starting point is 02:05:41 Philly and I's steaks are the most overrated thing ever. Even the bread. It's just the whole combo, the whole combo together, like, you put it on some Hawaiian bread, maybe, give me some real steak, some real steak. Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh-huh. Real, the ones the bodega can't afford.
Starting point is 02:05:59 Like, I don't want it from the bodega. I know you ain't ordering real meat. So bring your own steak and have them cut it up. Let me bring my steak. You cut this shit up. I'll cut it up. Bring your own steak and have them cut it up. Let me bring my steak. You cut this shit up. Cut it up. Bring your own cheese. Mambo sauce.
Starting point is 02:06:08 Look, mambo sauce. You ate mambo sauce. DC, you ate mambo sauce. That's that DC shit. Oh, I know. Nah. OK. Big ass burger, $3.
Starting point is 02:06:18 Nah. I'm cool. I know it, though. Listen, the meat that's supposed to be in there is supposed to put the shit about $50 Just anyway back this was a sixer segment before we veered off basketball team in Philadelphia We had to name of Philly cheese.
Starting point is 02:06:46 He's done talking about Mr. B said Philly cheese or trash. I feel like that is going to cause some issues for us. What is this was we Philly steed and chopped cheese is something one is top cheese is better than the top. He's a top cheese is way better. Philly cheese. I don't give a fuck. But a ham and cheese sandwich.
Starting point is 02:07:03 No, no, no, no. Top cheese is from New York. Right? Yeah. I don't give a fuck. But a ham and cheese sandwich. No, no, no. No, Top Cheese is from New York, right? Yeah, Top Cheese is. Is it the same thing? No, they got Top Cheese on that something. But it's the same thing? No.
Starting point is 02:07:12 It's the same thing. It's cheese and meat. It's hamburger meat. It's cheese and meat. Yeah. Top Cheese. Chopped up ass hamburgers. It's cut up hamburger meat.
Starting point is 02:07:20 It's cut up. It's way better. Cut up hamburger meat and cheese. Hamburger helper without the noodles. That's the worst shit ever Bodega to get your food. I don't know. I don't know. I don't go to the liquor store. It's liquor store meat Liqueur store meat man, you know hand from the liquor store man No liquor store meat man, I'll get no hair from the liquor store man Magic in sandwich meat from the dollar store
Starting point is 02:08:01 Every bodega sell chopped cheese in New York. That's a liquor store Top teachers way better than Philly cheese. I know black spam on my. A lot of meat. So do you get hot dogs? Got the best burgers. Do you get hot dogs on the 7-eleven? Back in high school.
Starting point is 02:08:23 I'm just trying to figure out where your stomach palates at. Back in college, that's why. Marathon Burger's is fire. I was just out. I just had Marathon Burger left in the speech. Fire. So we asked the chat, what's better, Philly cheesesteaks or chopped cheese? Chopped cheese.
Starting point is 02:08:35 70% of the chat did not say chopped cheese. They said Philly cheesesteak. 90% of the chat wrote when Philly cheesesteak. That's crazy, because most of our fans is from New York. I was about to say that. So we also asked the chat if the South should recruit Dane. 52% of the chat said yes. But let's move on to the Sixers, which this segment was
Starting point is 02:08:52 initially about. So after preseason expectations of potentially winning the Eastern Conference, Sixers battled injuries all year. Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George played a grand total of just 15 games together. So according to Shom, the Sixers are dealing with another injury to one of their stars. So Paul George underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his left knee Monday to
Starting point is 02:09:12 treat an injury suffered during a recent workout. George will now begin a rehab program and be reevaluated prior to the start of training camp. PG averaged 16 points per game in 41 games played last season. And according to Tony Jones of the Athletic, Embiid still hasn't returned to on-court basketball activities after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee back in April. It has not been cleared to return to on-court activity.
Starting point is 02:09:37 You get old and shit. Hey, then I know what was the last report on him. Hm? On who? Embiid. Then they say he was looking what? He was looking, yeah. No, they say he went and got he was looking. Yeah, he's not they say he wouldn't got surgery No, no, no, that was the last report about a week and a half ago and I called bullshit on it
Starting point is 02:09:51 What was it? This said let me find a girl. Yeah, give me exactly what he said What Very engaged very engaged in rehab Very engaged. Very engaged. Very engaged in rehab. It's expected to be ready around training camp. He was very engaged in his rehab. Still not clear for all the court activity.
Starting point is 02:10:12 But very engaged in quote-tations in rehab. He dropped the engaged part this time. Listen, Philly. Oh, Chicky and Peace. Swag is the Yes, I can ask you a question Is the but I'm just asking you so we heard that news about a beat are not clear for on-court activities If you're Philadelphia
Starting point is 02:10:47 You have the wrong people evaluating talent. I'm sorry. The fact that he was set down when? When did he, when was he set down? I think around March, but he had the surgery in April. March, April. And the fact that he's not ready today, meaning he is not playing basketball today. And he's gonna start playing basketball mid-August, September, means he has not gotten better,
Starting point is 02:11:20 nothing, then he's gonna roll around and go through the same thing. Meaning you had a chance to pick a big man who has the same skill talent. If you wanna use lazy, just as lazy, then. But this one that's coming into the drive, you can mold him. The one you have now is set in stone.
Starting point is 02:11:40 That has a bad wheel that you can't do anything with. Right, no matter what you do, you can't fix it. It can't go back to what it used to be. It's only gonna get worse with time and age. And you don't have a backup that you could have drafted. Let me know you're really believing in what you're spitting to the public. There's no way I don't go into the draft and pick a big man. Because my big man that I have now, I know is going to miss 30 games, if we're lucky.
Starting point is 02:12:22 I need something, I need security for the future. What are you talking about, the kid from the future The kid from Maryland? The kid from Maryland or just any big? It's the same guy. I'm pretty sure you watched this first game in preseason and that shit looked nice didn't it? Shit looks very nice when it's five on five versus you probably working them out by himself. Looks very nice.
Starting point is 02:12:44 Bringing the ball up, playing point guard, looking at his passing, looking at his one-on-one skill. That's Embiid younger before he got set in his ways. And we're not talking about an Embiid that's gonna play 70, 65, 80 games. That Embiid is probably gone. Reality is here. That knee he has, how Embiid is probably gone. Reality is here. That knee he has, how he plays is not gonna last
Starting point is 02:13:09 80 to 70 games any longer. There's nothing you can do about it. You ever ask Chad GBT, like, what would you do with Embiid? That's what they probably doing. Just see if it's a keeper. Just see if you do it say keep them. That'd be crazy.
Starting point is 02:13:27 Now you want me to be McKenzie. Why was I about to type in chat GBT, what do you think? Should we keep NB? That's what they doing, bruh. Why am I asking them that? Because they do that. They use AI, he said that. They use AI. They do use AI, not the one they should be using.
Starting point is 02:13:47 They use AI to help with everything. And what, Paul George having like a cleaning or something? Orthoscopic surgery from an injury suffered in a recent workout. See what I'm saying, when you get older, bro. Shit crazy. It's hard you get older, bro. It's crazy. It's hard to come back, man. From injuries.
Starting point is 02:14:11 While you talk to Chad GPT, actually, we'll wait for that answer. So while Bill looks at it real quick, Paul George had over 16 points last season. What do you think, higher or lower next season? OK, so definitely the Sixers absolutely needed a long term backup, big behind. Almost complete with the GPT sense. And they said Derrick Queen from Maryland would fit that role perfectly.
Starting point is 02:14:37 So they said, keep, that's what they're holding on to. I don't know too. So what was the problem? Should, so it said Philly should have drafted for backup somebody like Queen. Y'all believe? You were very high on Dera Queen. I like Queen, bro. You were very high on Dera Queen going into- I like Queen. No, because it reminds me of,
Starting point is 02:15:02 it reminds me of like what we're seeing. Like those dominant bigs that remind me of what we're seeing, those dominant bigs. It reminds me of Embiid, and it reminds me of what Jokic looks like, the Sangoon. Those guys that are skilled, big man that's using the footwork, craftiness, you know smarts to you know get around defenders and manipulate the offense and manipulate defenses so you know you got a guy who's willing pass or knows how to pass has a very high IQ soft touch around the rim can shoot the ball that knows how to play basketball and he's seven foot wait for you some weight on his seven foot like what like Let me danger we're scared about his defense. I'm pretty sure you should be scared about all players defense
Starting point is 02:15:52 at that age you supposed to be able to teach them how to play defense and Everyone's not built like Carter Bryant No, I mean I'm sure NB coming into the college, I mean, coming into the league, wasn't a high value defensive player. But he learned how to be one. Same thing with Jokic. But I do feel like NB's going to come back and play this year.
Starting point is 02:16:20 I feel like he could have a Kawhi Leonard type beat. And I feel like my 2005 Maybach can run like my 2025 Maybach. Okay? Nah, I swear. I run to think. Nah. All right. You know, somehow I keep thinking that the wifi, the Bluetooth is going to kick in and
Starting point is 02:16:41 then realize, damn it, they didn't have Bluetooth in 2005. Where's my CD? Where's my CD? You know, in the Maybach right now, I'm still bumping. You said, you said, you said what? I forgot about how to pull the CD out. You said, you said, you said. I forgot about how to pull the CD out, man. So every time I get in, it just makes me
Starting point is 02:17:07 laugh. Eject button. Still pumping dips. Oh, I forgot there is a, I still got the, you hit a button, they got a little full thing, you know, I'm still waiting for, you know, how much money, think about this, how much money I got to spend on the car To get it updated to 2025 if they see I can do that to the car You can't do that with that knee if they don't come back If they do part that see I got a spin just as much as you Yeah, if they don't come back you gotta retire mean, it's just, what I'm saying is, Damn.
Starting point is 02:17:46 If you don't come back. Reality is, just the reality of it. You're never gonna, you're not gonna be the dude you was, right? Once you figure out, it's easier to build around it, like, okay, I'm gonna have you for this many games. I need a backup for you. That's important. You are my centerpiece I need a new centerpiece just in case right I got I got Shaq and you know might need to get will bite him You know, I mean we might need to get another big just in case that's where that comes in that
Starting point is 02:18:18 Need to get another big just in case, you know until he gets ready to take form and be a contributor and that's all that's all it's just a safety net I'm gonna say yeah, but cuz he had no choice but yeah, like Paul George I mean you got enough wings that can just do that. Well, if if big fella go down you have no hope Yeah, but that's all Playing forever at 70% is still good as shit. But not to win. Why not? Not today, because these niggas is playing like, OK, see.
Starting point is 02:18:51 You're playing at 70%? It's not enough to win at 70%. 70% with only 45 games. No, no, no, no, no. Yes. I can tell you right now in the finals every other game Like playing the season and playing through the playoffs and he got to the playoffs and they have to play every other game The knee don't hold up The knee don't hold what I'm saying is the knee don't hold up back-to-back
Starting point is 02:19:16 Remember he started the season off saying we're not gonna play back-to-backs I'm gonna say he didn't play back-to-backs at all and still got injured still got injured But I'm just saying, he did finally, he finally listened to y'all and rested the whole year. No, he didn't rest the whole year. He did. After he got hurt, he just shut down. In March, I was just three months ago.
Starting point is 02:19:35 Man, he shut it down way before. We were saying last year he should have shut it down instead of playing for the USA team. No, no, no, I never said that. I didn't say that. I was happy he played because we got a gold. My selfishness of winning the gold and securing it. And he did his job.
Starting point is 02:19:52 Yeah, no, no, no, haters. Haters, yeah, people who pushed the Euro was hoping he'd sit down because he shut down fucking Jokic. Whoop, Jokic ass, and that's how we got passed. And so of course you want to say, he should have sat down. Well, we all right? He should have said damn well. We'll see he should have said When we we some Frenchies come on out here
Starting point is 02:20:22 We might put him on the team just to let the fringes know. Man. Man. Dad. Uh-huh, you see that guy? That's what the fringes look like. Wee-wee, that's what it looks like. Wee-wee.
Starting point is 02:20:33 Oh! Wee-wee, motherfucker. Uh-huh, that's what it feels like. Ah! Ha-ha. Ah! Ha-ha. Ha-ha.
Starting point is 02:20:43 On that note, let's move to mostly facts. Presented by our friends at Underdog. Download the Underdog app, use promo code GIL, get up to $1,000 in bonus cash plus special pick up. Speaking of these, we're about to play Brandon and AI coming up. And this is what they're on my knee trying to recover from coming back. And he kept f**king with me. He said, he gonna go out there and play.
Starting point is 02:21:09 And he gonna hit your ass with a crossover. He gonna be sitting on this. He used to hate that, bro. No, so you trying to... He's our thing. He's our thing. He's like, oh, he almost stopped playing one game. He ain't gonna play tonight. He ain't gonna play tonight, man. Oh Play tonight man, it starts creeping in like that's the last thing you want to get crossed over and you sit there
Starting point is 02:21:35 55 So he no no Injury and they're making jokes about you. Like, you know, I'm going to come back again. They probably been walking some. You say, hey, man, you're at 55. You got to play him, and then AI next. You're going to be out there, and just be like, woo!
Starting point is 02:21:58 They did make the Daniels fall. I heard rumors of Gil. They said before the game, if he was shooting, and you come over there and, like, tap the ball, or something like he'll get mad or like he got to change his whole jersey outfit, everything, I was hearing rumors about that. Damn.
Starting point is 02:22:10 Yeah, don't touch that, I don't want no broke, no, you can shoot the ball, I'll touch the ball. I learned that from him. Like if I'm shooting, and there's somebody who don't know how to shoot, touches it, aw, I'm good. Yeah, he fucked up. Yeah, I'd take the ball out.
Starting point is 02:22:21 Yeah, I'd take the ball out. Wow. I didn't even want to, like if you couldn't shoot, we not doing this. Yup, I do this. Do this with the... You don't want the broke jumper, Jerm. I don't want you to transfer energy, dog. When you're at halftime.
Starting point is 02:22:38 They say you do some at halftime. Have I had a bad hat? Like I'm gonna wash the jersey off, wash that... Full jersey. Wash the jersey off wash that full jersey Did you go into the shower with the old shoes on yes Did you change or you came with the soggy wet showers But you kept that jersey on. I take the jersey on. I use the soap and then after I just string it, drop.
Starting point is 02:23:11 So you came back with a moist jersey back on. I was moist anyway. Duh, he got the shit dry. Come on, man. He can walk on water. Come on, man. There's a blow dryer. We hit the button, boom, and then we got the blow dryer. We can dry on water. He can walk on water. Come on man, there's a blow dryer, dog. You gotta hit the button, boom.
Starting point is 02:23:25 And then we got the blow dryer, we can dry it enough. Usually those take a little bit longer than what can be done in a traditional halftime window. But Gil, that's why you are Gil. I mean, don't worry about it. And I was like, hey listen, no matter what the motherfucker say, buckets. How about you know?
Starting point is 02:23:41 Halftime puts people in trouble. Like, damn, what happened at the halftime? Just watched the joint off. But we have a email question from underdog user, Cam Griffey, said, who will be a contender first, the Wizards or the Hornets? Who will be a contender first? Who?
Starting point is 02:23:59 Both of them might make it by default. My bad. They both might make it by 2028. They both might make the playoffs by 2028. Yeah, the Wizards never gonna make it by default. My bad. They both might make it by 2028. Yeah, they both might make it by 2028. They both might make the playoffs by 2028. Yeah, the Wizards never going to make it. Nah, I figure he's a Wizard hater, but you know. Dubs, Dove kids, Wiz kids, we're about to be in the building. I mean, I want them to make it.
Starting point is 02:24:17 I mean, well, they both in the East. So I mean, Wizards. Oh, no. Man, they ain't making shit. I mean before Charlotte, Charlotte. I mean since Charlotte might get sold. Shit, they already gonna make it cause they gonna make a drastic
Starting point is 02:24:34 trade for Mello and gonna get some good solid pieces just like Bill Wallace and them. Like how they used to make it. Just off of hustle. Who is Bill Wallace? Man, whatever the Wallace. Oh, Bill Wallace. Gerald Wallace is Bill Wallace? What the fuck is Bill Wallace? Oh, Bill Wallace. Gerald Wallace. Gerald Wallace. Bill Wallace is crazy.
Starting point is 02:24:47 They ain't got Gerald Wallace. They got Gerald Wallace. He came from the Kings, fool. Yeah, I know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Remember that team with him and- I'm talking about Gerald Wallace. I don't believe in him.
Starting point is 02:24:55 Yep. Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson. Yep. That's the team. Raymond Belton. Yep. The Bobcat. A different organization.
Starting point is 02:25:03 Jack Okafor, he was on that team. Yeah, they play hard. Yep, the Bobcat. A different organization. Jack Okafor, he was on that team. Yeah, they play hard. That's just the best. Behold, what's on that team. OK, well.
Starting point is 02:25:13 DJ Augustine, yep. I remember, yep. Interesting times here at Gillsbury. I'm going to present him underdog Woo Woo. Woo Woo. Denny. Oh. Mario Chalmers said he want wanna play you one on one.
Starting point is 02:25:25 I just wanted to tell you that. He was talking shit. He said, yeah, B is gonna bust my ass and tell Brandon he could make it two, I'll bust his ass too. Just what thought I'd tell you this in front of the world, just to tell you. I play golf. I got a question for Cheryl.
Starting point is 02:25:41 We do. Wow. Cleveland Rockets. Cleveland, WNBA, Cleveland Rockets?. Cleveland Rockets. Huh? Cleveland WNBA Cleveland Rockets. Cleveland Rockets. Rockers. Rockers. Rockers. Rockers. Rockers. What do you mean? What are they? Them coming back or what? The Cleveland what? The Cleveland Rockets. So you think they, that's the, you know, the expansion of the W? Yeah, so they, yeah, so Cleveland used to have a team. So they were the Cleveland Rockers. Oh, so you... What, do I like the name?
Starting point is 02:26:10 That they're coming back? I love that Detroit's getting a team back. Okay, Detroit. I love that Philly is getting a team. Oh, okay, so that says everything. Mm-hmm. The only reason why I'm like hesitant on Cleveland is because I know Houston put a bit in
Starting point is 02:26:30 and didn't get a team this go round. But I like Cleveland getting their team back. We're bringing the comms back. That's so crazy that they would move you guys. Yeah, that's crazy. No, no, they didn't move us. I mean, I moved, but like the team folded. After all that change, like all that, man.
Starting point is 02:26:47 Like, you would. Yeah, they just, well, they sold it to someone who. Wasn't about that. Had no idea what he was doing. It was like that movie Eddie. I like the fact that there are three new teams coming. Whoopi Goldberg. Yep.
Starting point is 02:27:00 Just like the movie Holy Man. I'm right here to sell the team. You ain't moving these nicks. Stacy Patton, sit your ass down. Stacy Patton, that's you right there. That was a good movie. You and Stacy Patton. No, that's Stacy Patton.
Starting point is 02:27:13 He's passing the ball. The rest of the piece, Stacy. Oh, yeah, for sure. Oh, we got breaking news. What? No, Gil. Niggas wanted to go home. Hey, hey, hey.
Starting point is 02:27:24 I gotta go. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Tell, uh gotta go. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Tell, uh, tell, uh, he ain't better than Norris Cole, so I don't even know why he wanna play. No, what I'm saying is, the breaking news is, we, we all going home. He said put the 500 up. We all going home. Someone's not allowed home. Somebody's not allowed in their house, who is that someone?
Starting point is 02:27:42 Yeah, so he can talk all day. Ain't nobody watching. Why you even know? Nobody want to watch me and Marlo Chalmers play football. That's why you get in trouble, girl? Oh. Wait, what happened? See, I can't go home.
Starting point is 02:27:50 Breaking news, we going home. You might as well just. Oh, just stay here? Hey, baby. Hey, get him a little cot in the back. Shoulda went and got your phone. Ain't I? We got room.
