Starting point is 00:02:26 There we go. That's the excitement we like Glorious Friday here in the arena. means it's almost a weekend. May or may not get a day off. But I'm merely a host, Josiah Johnson. I'm here with NBA legend 2K Unk with badges,
Starting point is 00:02:41 Gilbert Arenas. Yeah. My dogs. We got NBA champion of the world, Swaggy Pete, Nick Young, back on the couch.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Bringing his championship experience, amongst other things. Knowledge of all things corner. The original champion. The original champion. Knowledge of all things corner, Corner Boys,
Starting point is 00:03:01 and the like. I think he won championship. Oh, I've ever been in my corner. Right there. Right, he took his corner. Motible. I said the original.
Starting point is 00:03:11 That's why I said the original. He won the OG corner boys. He won the OG. We got NCAA champion and three-time NBA champion of the world. He's not in the arena. You can check out
Starting point is 00:03:20 his Inside the Green Room podcast or catch him calling the Lakers games. Danny Green. Welcome back. Can we, can we, can we, can we address something? We can address it? Can we address something?
Starting point is 00:03:32 Because you got some. If he was a starter, averaging 18 and the main. and on the team, can he call himself a corner boy? Nah. Later on, he became one, though. Yeah, but that's just, that's everybody. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:03:47 You can. When I come, when the star come in, I go to the corner. When the star comes in. It's his level. A corner boy is not when the star comes in. Cal Corford was Cal Corford the whole time. Yeah, you always. He's the corner.
Starting point is 00:04:01 You're always a corner. We always on the block, man. He's on the block. Tell me what a corner is. You haven't been there until your end. I've been there. He was on the front lines early is what he said. He was too good to be a corner boy early.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Who? Yeah, he started. No, no, no, no. And he was getting buckets. I'm an elite. It's like levels to it, you know. Elite corner. Corner with freedom.
Starting point is 00:04:23 There you go. Okay. No. Reform corner. How many plays you had called for you during games? See, that's what I'm talking about. You already got beaten. Now, what if Tim Duncan was it there?
Starting point is 00:04:35 They're calling plays for you? Probably not. How about if Tony's not dead, they're calling a play for you? Four guys would have to be, like, three guys. See, that's what a corner boy is. Four people, and it's like, it's just me. You? It was only one person that was on the Lakers, Kobe.
Starting point is 00:04:50 That's the only person that told you to go on the corner. So when Kobe came back, I'm in the corner. When he goes, four people have to be back. That's the same thing. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. It was only Kobe. Because Shaq was a corner boy. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:05:04 After Kobe's 30 years, Shaq was a corner boy. Carl Malone was. was a quarter boy. Gary paid for show was a gorgeous. Everybody was a corner boy. Corners were freedom. You go into it. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:05:14 When you put it like that, well, we got a lot to discuss today. Here's what's cracking in the arena. After tense negotiations, Jaylen Dern and the Pistons finally got a deal, Doug. Another zero paid. Another zero making that month. Zero to hero.
Starting point is 00:05:33 What are realistic expectations for the all-N-B-Bing big man this season? Is there going to be any lingering bitterness? I got a by my jersey. You're getting a jailing in a jersey? I don't like broke zeros. You know, he's zero to zero. No, zero to hero.
Starting point is 00:05:46 He's a hero now. Let me go ahead and get that. At least one wizard admitted to tanking for the top pick. But is the franchise ready to change their culture this season? And Kauai and Janice's new teams opened a preseason against each other.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Which superstar has more pressure on them this season? We'll see. Mostly fans, back for our super chat. Throw something in the offering plate, drop your questions. Please, if you don't mind, we'll pick some of the best to answer at the end of the show. You guys been doing a great job sending no super chats in. We've been trying to hit all of them every single episode. But listen, I need to tell y'all about this new
Starting point is 00:06:20 sports trading app I discovered. It's called Polymarket. It's the most exciting way to trade in sports, and it's a nationwide federally regulated prediction market. Polymarket is the best prediction market better than Kalshi, Draft Kings, and Fandul in the past. If you wanted a position on a game, you'd put your money in and get locked in until the very end. But The Bollymarket lets you trade games like you would of stock, buying in and selling out entirely on your terms. When your team drops to 20 cents, you buy the dip. And when they jump to 40 cents, you sell, lock in your gains and double your money without waiting for the final whistle. And it isn't just sports.
Starting point is 00:06:52 You can trade on culture, news, and current events. Plus, they have a squad feature where you can talk and trade with your friends. Any trade a member places drops right into the chat as a card, and anyone can hit by to take that same pick in one tap. This is the old limitations and trade on your terms. download the Polymarket app and use code Arena. And when you deposit just $10, you'll unlock $25 in bonus funds. That's Code Arena to get $25 in bonus funds when you deposit $10 on Polymarket.
Starting point is 00:07:19 And Gills Arena, everywhere you want to be. So shout out to everybody watching the show on Twitch. If you haven't done so already, subscribe to our Twitch channel at Gills Arena Show, and we appreciate y'all for all the subs and all the love. So let's get right to it, biggest news of the day. After a month's long contract stalemate that spilled into, training camp, Jalen Dern and the Pistons finally got a deal done, agreeing to a five-year
Starting point is 00:07:41 fully guaranteed $200 million extension. Just hours before the deadline for Duren to sign his one-year qualifying offer, which would have made him an unrestricted free agent next summer. Pistons' offer initially included a weight clause, which was removed earlier this week, with Duren giving up nearly $90 million to get the deal done. The deal does not include an option on either side. So, Danny, we're going to start with you. Did Jailen Duren make the right decision agreeing to a five-year $200 million extension with the business? I mean, I don't think in any world this is a wrong decision. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Probably long overdue. Some people thought it should have happened sooner. But I hope he's happy. If not, I'm sure we'll see it in his play. But either way, I think he's a young kid that wants to compete, wants to win. Close with his teammates. Kay Cunningham, Asaura, like, they all got paid. They can now focus on basketball.
Starting point is 00:08:33 And after a couple weeks, everybody will forget about that. this and then they'll just be hooping. And hopefully he'll be professional, put this behind him, and be on an NBA member again and continue to show why he deserved this or earn this. And it's probably a cheap deal in a couple of years if he continues to keep going on that trajectory. So yeah, always a smart decision to sign the money that's in front of you,
Starting point is 00:08:55 especially when it's a big deal like this. Get the bag. The Hard Rock Beck Casino app is here, Ontario. Didn't catch the latest Roland Martin unfiltered podcast? Here's what you missed. And the argument is, do you want to win? If you don't win, you have no power. It's real. Those are the very people who I always say vote against their own economic interest and they complain about the very thing they're receiving.
Starting point is 00:11:02 It's raw. I knew that the issue of transgender athletes, was not going well with a lot of black men. Roland Martin unfiltered. I went off, I said, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Y'all going to scream at Chanel, but you don't want to see a black luxury company in the same vein. Starting point is 00:11:45 You do not deserve happiness. I'm Andrea Gunning. On this season of betrayal, we meet Carl Bryant. Carl thought he was living a normal drama-free life until the messages started. You will have hell to pay.
Starting point is 00:12:00 For nine months, someone infiltrated every aspect of Carl's life, threatening to ruin him. Cyberstalking, swatting, extortion, impersonation. And then the text threats escalated. Someone's not going to make it out of this alive. It's playing out in real life, not just on the phone.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Every piece of evidence pointed to one man. But every piece of evidence was a lie. He was not going to stop unless we stopped him. Listen to Betrayal Season 6 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Move over to Swaggy. Jalen Durham made All-Star All-MBA last season for the first time. Had a great regular season, average 20 points, 11 rebounds. Struggled a little bit in the postseason. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:55 But got a new five-year deal fully guaranteed no options. $200 million. Did Dern make the right decision? Man, you know, he stood his ground. They was, you know, going back and forth, had a little, you know, like all relationships, got ups and downs,
Starting point is 00:13:12 get mad, I put a weight clause in yourself, you know, just to mess with you a little bit. Felt like a hate clause. For sure, but, yeah, like Danny said, I think, you know, after a couple games, this is all day, forget about it, get on that court, now you're with your team.
Starting point is 00:13:28 I feel like he could rest. and had a long summer. I think that's one of the first times in a while that we've seen somebody wait out and actually get the deal. You know, I've seen... We've seen some bad things lately the last couple of years. People waiting this long until September or April.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Things don't go their way, so... September to April, April. I mean, August, August, August, August. August. Oh, now you got to wait for? Yeah. Well, April, too, because they could have signed them in April, too. I think that's illegal too.
Starting point is 00:14:06 You just see baking shit. No, no, no, no, no. That kid gave him an extension. But forget all that, don't know. We're not going to harp on that. I mean, August. I know for him, he's looking around. I made all NBA, All-Star,
Starting point is 00:14:19 and wanting to get the same type of treatment as everybody else that's, you know, in that type of, you know, caliber. And it's not 280. But you got 200. You should be happy, man. $200. You're only 22 years old.
Starting point is 00:14:36 You can get another deal. You keep playing like this, a bigger one. 200. Like I said, no player options. Fully guaranteed five years. Shift over to you, Gil. You've been very adamant throughout this process that Jalen Duren get his back.
Starting point is 00:14:50 And I mess around. It cost himself money. See, over here. He didn't listen to you, though. Smirking. He didn't listen. No, he didn't. You stole him to sign a deal with the way to call.
Starting point is 00:14:59 It didn't matter what it was. Oh, wait. I don't even know why they reported a weight clause. Like they're acting like a weight clause matters to someone. Who reported it gives the question. Zion didn't get hampered by the weight clause. Shaquille O'Neal didn't get hampered by the weight clause. Like so, a weight?
Starting point is 00:15:18 Yeah, everyone that, he's the only one that's fit to have one. I mean, what's him had a weight clause? Rip Hamilton had a weight clause. He had to gain weight. Yeah, he had to gain weight. So he had to gain weight. He had put two, five-pound weights in, in, in, on the side, and then go weight and go weigh himself. That's what they were doing in those fishing competition.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I didn't know that. Again, he's not a guy that has to worry about his weight, so what doesn't do? So I'm doing what you're supposed to do when you're supposed to do when you're in shape, it don't matter. They're just putting shit in it. Yeah, just the fun. Listen, this is just like Monopoly, man. Pass, go collect the fucking $200. And that's what you did.
Starting point is 00:15:58 And that's when the game starts. That first round, that first round. That first round is just free play. Your rookie deal, free play, you just collect your $200. Now you got to go out there and just play. Free play, you banked it. This is bank money right now. Now whatever you're doing after that is going to capitalize on that.
Starting point is 00:16:16 So always say, man, don't jeopardize. If you don't have the full leverage, don't jeopardize that first bag. Right? 22 years old, you're going to get one when you're 26. Right? You're going to get one when you're 30. You stay and shit like that. 34, you're going to hit him again, right?
Starting point is 00:16:35 So, you know, like, just make sure you get the one that keeps you calm. You ain't got to, you ain't got to stress for the rest of you goddamn. And it's only going up. It's only going up. He could end up making $600. Easy. In his career. Shit, he can make $600 off the next.
Starting point is 00:16:50 About $250. Shit, 300. Yeah, close to it. Yeah, $300, $265? Like, yeah, he's going to touch it. You're going to touch 6,700. That's why I was like, like, listen to the ones that,
Starting point is 00:17:03 like, we're not the ones telling you to hold out. I know what it looks like when you hold out. I know how people play when it hold out. Take that money that's in a hand. And how they play you when you fell. Yeah. How they play you? So, hey, man, listen.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Right now, I'll tell them, go on vacation. Listen to me. Go on vacation. Take a 24-hour vacation. Celebrate. You deserve it. Rough summer. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Huh? Miss Train again? Skip Media Day. skipped this whole week of training camp waiting to get this deal done. Brother, I just signed that money. I just signed that money. I'm about to go on vacation. God damn. He gave them the weight clause. I'm waiting to the last possible moment to sign this shit so I can take a little time. But just looking at his contract negotiations, messy from the start, president of basketball ops, Trades in Langdon saying during his poor playoff performance would be a factor in determining the numbers behind the deal, making contact. comments this week about during being disgruntled after having not spoken to him directly
Starting point is 00:18:03 all off-season and also saying he's dealt with disgruntled players in New Orleans. We talked about that earlier in the week, didn't name names. Dern also had a lack of fan support, had the weight clause. I mean, the disrespect was pretty loud going into this. I mean, if I'm Jayland Dern, I'm feeling unappreciated. Low ball offers, I think 170 to 190 was the initial, got it up to 200. But 170 off the jump guild, I just made All-MBA. I'm an all-star.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Look what I did to change the culture here. We used to be boo-boo. We're a barbecue. This business, man. It is, but. Okay, see, like, I get it. This is no offense. Don't take the attitude of the star player.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Take that shit as a second or third option. That's how you address it. Austin Reeves, you turn down the money 90. You played. You wasn't offended that they offered you this because there is a LeBron James and there is a Luca Donchage. Right?
Starting point is 00:18:55 So don't sit there and pretend you all, mighty and you, you, you bigger than you really are. Because your all star and you're all NBA, ain't really coming from your stats. I'm a top 15 player in the league. No, no, no. I'm a top 15 player in the league. Are you a top 15 player because of you
Starting point is 00:19:12 or your team success? That's very different. It don't, but I'm a top 15 player in the league. No. When it comes to the people who are making the decision, this ain't no fucking fan signing this deal. These are the owners. Did you make it off your merit
Starting point is 00:19:26 or did you make it off the algorithm? of Cade getting us here and you are a part of this and we're going to pick two people from this team for you to make this All-Star game. A whole bunch of other stars got hurt and you made the team as a feeling. Or we take your name off these stats, we put everybody's stats up here, will these stats stand down? 20 and 11? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:51 20 and 11 per day? They stand out but I don't think they... Chad, all of them the same thing. What are he talking about? Chad was a star when he was making All-Star games. He averaged 17 and what we'll call it? When? When?
Starting point is 00:20:02 When was the All-Star? Every year he was an All-Star. Average in 18, 17. But was he an All-Star because he was an all-star? Or was he was an all-star because he was on the Thunder? He was the main player on the team. Chad hungry? No, I don't know about talking about Chet.
Starting point is 00:20:17 He's talking about Kat. I said Towns and Chet. He's talking about Towns. Town was a bona fide star player in his league. And Chet, I said Chet, too. Oh. We thought you were talking about Chet. Chet is one of the same conversation.
Starting point is 00:20:28 What your deal was? 240, I believe. 240? How many years? Five for 240. That's what I'm saying. He's in the same stratosphere as what Gil's saying. But a year ago. His actors came with the team success as well.
Starting point is 00:20:40 If you look at his numbers, if he was the four-seat or five-seat, he wouldn't have made an NBA an All-Star. Yeah, he wouldn't like everything. Like when you look at Chet, you're not like, oh, man, you was out here playing like an All-Star or NBA? Yeah, those numbers are not. Now, if you look at him. He didn't negotiate, no nothing.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Just, hey, that's what you're going to give me. I'm going to take it. I'm taking it. They also had won. But did what you said? Won a championship? Shit, so everybody happy. Austin Reeves turned down somebody, so he wasn't happy, right?
Starting point is 00:21:06 But I don't know he was offended, though. Austin Reed's not an all-star or not all-N-B-A. Right, he realized. Turned it down, you were offended. I'm getting, this is what I average. They offer me 90 million. This is what I'm averaging. I'm going to, I'm going to bet on myself and going to the summer and going to the summer.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Hopefully I have a decent year, but I know I can least make that up. Because I got San Antonio that want me. I can make, I can make it. at least 100, 120. Easy. Like, he was going to make that no matter of us. So you might as well just go play it out? Ain't no wrong with being offended, man.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Take the... Like, don't be offended enough to, like... Take that in a good stride, though. I'm going to be offended with that shit in my... I'm going to be offended after I sign it. You know what, sir? I ain't like this, but look, I ain't like none of this. Give me that new phantom over there with the green top.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Like, you're crazy. Let's push this forward because I love what you're saying. So during skipped all team-related activities this offseason. Skip Media Day, missed the first week of training camp, taking the negotiations at the final hour. So according to report from the athletic Sam Amick, Pistons owner, Tom Gores, had to step in yesterday, promised during, in his family he would help provide a more positive
Starting point is 00:22:12 Pistons experience. Gills kind of correlates to something you've been saying, that the owner got to step in. Tom Gores, known to turn up, heavy at Noble in Malibu. Mr. B used to tell us, you know, understands what a young black man needs in this day and day to feel appreciated. But do you think there'll be any attention? Now, I've signed this deal 200 mil.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Is there going to be a lingering bitterness that I passed up or gave up on 87 million? They claim to have signing trade offers, claim to have teams that wanted to give them the max. Those claims are irrelevant now. We went all summer. You go all summer, right? You have a number in mind.
Starting point is 00:22:46 They have a number. But, you know, if you're a smart person, you have a bottom line number. And I think his bottom line number was probably the $200 million. Right? Because you go from 190 to $200,000 to $200. And I'm pretty sure we're going to hold out and see if we can get to $210.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Right. And if the owner has to step in, that means you're messing with his business, and his business is the Pistons. So, yes, I gave Trajan a job to do. I want to be under a certain number. But if we can't get there, I'm going to step in. Hey, I need, hey, Dern, look, I want you to be here. we want you to be here.
Starting point is 00:23:25 We're going to get it done. Like, you know what I mean? Once the owner, and that's why I say, had that talk with the owner, because the general managers and the presidents, they're just going by sheets, man. They're told me, we got to get under this cap, and all those guys are doing just sitting there looking,
Starting point is 00:23:40 just cutting costs. That's all they're doing. Like, the feelings is out of it. So you have to understand that, too. Like, yeah, you're the loyal one in all situations. The player is the loyal one in negotiating. business is what they're talking about first. So when you have it, when you have the power,
Starting point is 00:23:59 use it to your benefit because they're going to use it to theirs. But would you have that mentality as a 22-year-old? I think that's what's kind of not lost in the situation. During the during 22, he's young. It's tough to do that. It's easy when you're older in retrospect. Yeah. At the moment, you're like, yo, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:24:13 And that's why I always say, hey, take that, take this money. Don't do young shit. But could that the gyms could be emotional too. Like to put that claws in there That was an emotional See, bro, stop with that That was emotional I think it was
Starting point is 00:24:29 Stop with the claws That was emotional though If I got 3% body fat You know that You see me all Then you have Why would you put that in there That means you have to be a stupid
Starting point is 00:24:40 motherfucker If that is Yeah You don't think that's petty How stupid you have to be If that is why you won't take a deal That has to be the dumbest reason Not to take a deal right
Starting point is 00:24:50 Like that's stuff Like gems don't have feelings too For sure. That's what he's saying. We acting like they can't fill away. We all know how business works, right? You come with a high number, they come with a no number. It's negotiation.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Business-wise, they're going to try to get you for as cheap as they can get you. It's okay to take offense. 200 million weight clause. Oh, no. 200 million no weight clause. Yeah. Is there a way to do that, though? I just feel like...
Starting point is 00:25:12 There's a way to be respectful. Like, look, we ain't got the 287 for you. We love you. We want you to be here. I can do this 200. We want to build a strong foundation here with you. I mean, we think you're going to be a fat boy. we want to get this money back?
Starting point is 00:25:24 Well, no, not. Nope. We think this brain going to go to your head. I'm pretty sure if you look through a lot of trade's deals, I'm pretty sure a lot of those deals have weight clauses in them.
Starting point is 00:25:34 It's just something he's probably going to do. Again, I'm what you're saying. There is a way to do it. It is a way. Let's go, if you're going to buy a house online, you see in the area it's 2-5 and you know that they probably want like 2-3-4 or something like that.
Starting point is 00:25:47 You come in at 1-9, they're like, yeah, what the fuck? I'm a little disrespectful. Now, if you cut out the pettiness and the BS, you at least come. in with some respect for like 2-1, right? I knew you're going to start low, but you want to come in
Starting point is 00:25:57 with something respectful. You don't want to come in 1-8, 1-9. They were like, oh, what the fuck? I'm not taking you serious. Let me get the fuck up out of here. Of course, they're going to try to go, no, we want three. But you want to come through the door with something, you know, respectful. And for him, 170 was probably disrespectful. So Gil left, for all though, to don't know, Gil actually has a way clause in his contract, so Bill went to go
Starting point is 00:26:18 to your way to him's going to be back. He'll be back. But, yeah, 170 in the initial offer. It started right after the postseason. So you got Trayton Langdon. I think he's been obviously candid in his communication with the media. But yeah, his poor playoff performance is going to play a role in the world.
Starting point is 00:26:32 You got to expect that, right? You don't got to tell the media that, though. I'm just saying, like, let's do this behind closed doors. We don't need to play this out publicly because even the wait calls getting leaked, I don't think that's coming from the piston. Uh-oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:45 You already ain't hot water. What? Are you offended? Hell yeah, nigger. You offended? What did you just thought? You do $100 at me to get up a hole or something? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Is that $100 or a dollar? It's $100. You're gonna take it. Right? Are you fair? Just proved it in real time. You see, you see, who had $100 on this time? My mama was.
Starting point is 00:27:07 My mom was. You're not getting in the back. You're gonna take the money. No, you're not getting in the back. No. You're gonna fuck about that way. You're gonna take it. That's all that's being offered.
Starting point is 00:27:16 But Swagg, you took the money, but were you happy about it? Hell no. Hell no, all right? You're doing that. gonna pick it up so it don't matter how I come to you with the end. I don't want it. Okay, shut up. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Well, that is my. That's it. That's in a call. That's all I'm saying. Listen, listen, when business is being talked. They can crumble it up. Everybody has their own ways of being strategic, right? But I do know this.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Some people get jobs on being tactical, right? And usually that's a GM and all that stuff. So that's why I say when you talk to the owner, right, they have a different mindset. They're not as cutthrow as you would think, right? They hire somebody that's cutthroat that just takes feelings. Like, if I'm trying to get you to 190, to be honest, I'm going to try to piss you the fuck off.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Just business. You're worth $1, 287? And I got, I'm told to get to this number. I got to piss you off. As a gym or president of basketball, as an owner, owners want to be liked, I would imagine. They want to be liked by the players. I want to be able to run the locker room as an owner.
Starting point is 00:28:29 As owner. I might be the one that's behind the scenes doing all the fuck shit, but when you see me, I want you to dab me up. I want to be your buddy. Yeah, it depends if you are one of those owners that actually be in the locker rooms
Starting point is 00:28:40 and want to be that. I mean, there's owners. That ain't around all. You ain't never seen them before. So it's, you know, so it all depends on what type of owner you are. I think gores, I mean, at least from what Mr. B is talked about,
Starting point is 00:28:50 understands. He speaks very highly of him. He's one that likes to turn up, right? He's having parties in the offseason that the crew is coming through. Yeah, he's probably, he's heavy at no boo. He's a player. He's a player's guy. I would have been really surprised if, I would have been surprised on either way if
Starting point is 00:29:07 he signed that $9 million and if he didn't, if he didn't sign the deal, there was not going to be an extended couple more days. Like me, Me? Young me?
Starting point is 00:29:24 Oh, I'm calling your bluff every time. How are you going to tell him not to call his bluff? You're going to call... I was the number one option. I can call your bluff. Nah. Nah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Number two can't call your bluff? No, no, no. No, no, no. No, no. It depends. I think you could... It depends on who you are. Yeah, again, depends on who else is willing to offer it.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Now, again, if somebody else is about throwing $200 in your face, you don't care about Gills, like, you know. I'm saying you take offense to that 100. Somebody throws five in your face. Get the fuck out of here. Take in the money. No, no, it depends on. If a thing on the street, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:30:00 throw some money at me, it's different. A good deal. Listen, I've never, I've been to strip clubs. I've thrown money all the time. I've never seen someone to say, you know what? I got rent tomorrow, but I'm offended. They're going to be on the flow like. If the trippers get mad, how you throw the money out of them?
Starting point is 00:30:18 But they still pick it up. Can't throw it in. They just, buy it. No, you know, it's so funny, no bullshit. If you don't have superpowers, like if you're not the guy and you're in your real form, when you go into the summer, every decision you make has to be tactical. For sure. So I remember, so, you know, I'm injured.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I play two games. We're going, I'm going up for negotiations, right? Haven't played in two years. I opted out anyway, right? because I know what the doctor's telling me. So I know what the doctor's telling them. Right? So I'm like, oh, I mean, if I don't get back the form, right?
Starting point is 00:31:02 So I might as well, I might as well, I might as well just net as much money as possible because I don't know if I'm going to continue my career. No. Right. So July 1st, you know, free agency. You came on two games in the playoffs. It came in the playoffs. So July 1st, I set my shoe, my shoe, not at least, but marketing.
Starting point is 00:31:23 tour in China July 1st. So I'm flying out July 1st. I'll be gone. Right? As phone calls happen, you on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So what happens is they had to talk to me at midnight. Because I leave in the morning. My first
Starting point is 00:31:39 the offer they offered me and they, bro, he was like, yeah, you know what you did three time all stuff, three time all NBA. You're the city, you the franchise by, bye, blah, bye. You know, 85 million. Six year 85. You know, my max is 127.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yeah, I remember that. Six year, 85 million. Like, you know what I mean? I looked at the buddy. Damn, that's a lot. I mean, this is nice. You know what I mean? Like, this is very nice.
Starting point is 00:32:06 I said, but unfortunately, Baron Davis opted out of Golden State, and they offered me the max five-year one-on-one. So, unfortunately, I'm going to have to leave. I got a pack. But I'll talk to you guys a little bit later. I get back on 11th. I get back on the 11.
Starting point is 00:32:25 I get back on the 11. I'll let you guys know. So they went. I remember. They went to find out if Barron Davis actually opted out. They opted out. And then there's all shit. So when I woke up in the morning, the owner called me.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And I heard you, you're gone. Very good move. Very good move. The money's yours. Whatever it is. I was in the airport. The money is yours. Don't even worry about it.
Starting point is 00:32:45 I'm even upset that they even tried to play that game with you. So the money is yours, whatever that number is, you figure out how you want to spend it. But I was going to hold their money up for 11 fucking days. They couldn't have hopped on the satellite phone in China? I wasn't going to wait until he landed. You better remember. I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:33:02 The plane is we're so, we're time difference. So whatever they're sitting in me is going to take that. So I'm a date, but you're a day ahead. So now I'm messing up the summer. And the flight time and time difference. So it's about two days. Yeah. So I'm messing up the summer.
Starting point is 00:33:16 That means Antoine got to wait. Everybody got to wait. Okay. They get desperate. Then like all these free agents are signing. And now. Because everything happens in the first couple hours.
Starting point is 00:33:28 They're like, shit, we got to get Gil before we can do those other shit. That was the good old days. That's when dudes were still getting their back. Not getting finessed by franchises. Less extensions happen. So free agency was more. But big bags were getting got.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Big bags were getting got. You'd be like, oh, you're talking about, oh, during that day. At that first, like, 24 hours. They had to spend their money. They couldn't order no more. Exactly. But, so.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Shout out to Jalen Dern. Shout out to the Pistons, getting that deal done. Look forward to seeing Jalen Duren and the Pistons this season. I bought my jersey, too. In a much tougher Eastern Conference. I hope you bought it on. What do you have? Another rich zero, man.
Starting point is 00:34:04 What are you having that number? Hey, lokey. Zero. I'm just going to put it out there because I'm for sure 100% correct. There's a lot of them. The number zero has to be the richest number. In basketball history. Probably.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Besides 23? That's just George. And Brian. And Brian. That's enough. That's big bags. Yeah, that's enough. Remember, that ain't.
Starting point is 00:34:29 That wasn't even the Pippin made more than him in his NBA career. What about number one? Number one. No, zero's up there. Zero's definitely up there. We're talking about, he's on a rookie deal still. A lot of people with number one. Man, them zero.
Starting point is 00:34:43 We game. Russ. Me, Russ. That's. That's it. Duren. Kevin Love. Man, there's a lot of it.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Bro. We in a billion. You are. Shout out to the number zero. Zero to heroes. You? I wore that because of you, motherfucker. I don't get a fuck.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Why you were? I know why you were. I'm just saying, we add that to it. We add that to it. We add that to it. Brian Jordan, A.D. Huh? Dramon Green.
Starting point is 00:35:16 War number 23. Oh, yeah, yeah. The chat is clapping back. But. I mean, I mean, those are some good ones. You got Hallie Dame Hallie, yeah, Hallie, yeah We're making mania out here
Starting point is 00:35:31 You put the zero on you're getting paid You put the 23 on, legacy gone That's only one person is supposed to wear that now two You wear 23? That is interesting now Hey, you know what? There's some sorry-ass 23s But zero feels like a collective number Yeah
Starting point is 00:35:48 Like you were zero, it ain't one person That defines that zero obviously you put 23 on You and the shadow MJ the rest of the line. Where zero wasn't good enough That number defined. No, no, no. We was talked about.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Like, that's a Brunson number. Zero is a Brunson number. How they talk about Brunton? That's a, he's a zero. He's a number. He's a number. He's a number zero. He's a number.
Starting point is 00:36:10 But is 23, what defined numbers are? 23. Cobb? Cobe is more known for it. I don't know why I recognize eight more than I do 20. 24.
Starting point is 00:36:23 I recognize. 24 is 24. Eight to me. I'm 24. I mean, I'm 8. Yeah, I'm 28. I'm 8. I'm 8.
Starting point is 00:36:29 I'm 8. And then probably Kirby with the 30. Yeah, 30. I don't really see 30. 30 is like that. I'm just saying, like, when you think about 30. Everybody else is like, you can, you don't think 13? You don't think 13?
Starting point is 00:36:42 Who's that Paul and James? Will. What was number 13? I said one. I'm telling you. One is a. One is everybody. I'm talking about when you just think about that number for that person.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I would say T-M. Like, when you think Jordan, I don't say T-May-M-A-M-H, you always think Jordan. Oh, three. Three is a number. A-I. A-I. A-I. I think three is A-I, for sure.
Starting point is 00:37:08 11 was, is Isaiah Thomas. Yeah. That's the first person you think of. And now is. I mean, there's a lot of threes out there. You got a C.P. You got back? CP out there, B.A.
Starting point is 00:37:18 B. Barclay. I think it's Shaq. Yeah, honest. I mean, there's a lot. But let's keep this thing moving. NBA preseason tips off this weekend. This weekend?
Starting point is 00:37:27 This Saturday, Gil. Where you've been at? Preseason, we're here. The NBA preseason tips off this weekend. Featuring a pair of superstar faces in some new places as Kauai's Raptors face off against Yanis's heat in Quebec City Saturday. Quai unlikely to play, but Yonis status is still uncertain. So Kauai returned to the north after his escape from L.A.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Like Snake Pliskin for his second stint as a raptor. The last time the claw was in the sixth in 2019, he led the franchise to their first and only chip, and after a year of turmoil and controversy surrounding the NBA's investigation of him and the Clippers for caps or convention, and subsequent punishment, Kauai gets a fresh start with the stability of a two-year extension. So during Raptors, me today, Kauai reflected on the last year. How have you changed in the last year? What have you learned about yourself in the last year or so that got you to this point? You know, every year is a learning lesson.
Starting point is 00:38:26 You know, obviously, I mean, you're talking about basketball or the last year. You know, we weren't too competitive last year. But, you know, I just, I guess last year, me learning that is I need pressure or I need like a winning situation. I want to win. I want to try and win, you know, but I'm not. you know, forcing, or like pushing for that, whatever. You know, Bobby and Darko Cs, but they're competitive. And, you know, I mean, that's what I learned from the basketball aspect.
Starting point is 00:39:05 It's just, I like to be in a winning environment. It's not the Kauai cheesing. Yeah, man. Really good. A bunch of nothing. A whole bunch of nothing. Had to pay $700K to get $100 billion? A whole bunch of nothing.
Starting point is 00:39:20 But I understood what he was saying. He looked happy. He was, she was glowing, looking happy, speaking. Uh, honey. Actively happy to? He's, he's happy. Yeah, yeah. It's, it's.
Starting point is 00:39:34 He laid a blueprint, though. He has a weird, he has a weird NBA career, first ballot Hall of Famer that only played half his career, which makes you question how good would he have been, right? Two-time defensive player of the year ago And I guess because he is so quiet That he doesn't really get Any type of backlash For much of anything
Starting point is 00:40:05 Like you kind of side with him On most things Even with the thigh thing It was weird Even though at a young For a younger player We sided with him over pop Which was weird
Starting point is 00:40:18 You know the media did like Yeah you know If he got an outside doctor Outside doctor Like, it was a weird thing. And then when he plays the game, I don't personally like the look of it. It doesn't look as fluid. It doesn't look fluid.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Especially early on. It became more fluid. Like, I was early on, like, how does he get buckets? How is he getting, but, like, it's a robotic, stiff, like, football-style movement. And then I was watching, it was opening night, you know, versus, like, I think this was 20-20. was the 2020 season and went to the opening game it was clipper's home game right started off they started off booing them right lakers went up real real fast and uh it was the open night when we played them they had home they had home court that game yeah yeah they had home court
Starting point is 00:41:06 yeah 19 yeah 2019 yeah so i'm watching them uh work out and i was like god damn he's cash money like i'm just looking at like him as a shooter automatic he's a Just straight, just get to the spot. He's just a guy that gets it done. And whatever he does on that court, it's in winning. Like, you know, there's just some guys who just actually know how to win. They do that one thing that you need, that one steal, that one block, like jumping out of bounds. Like the charge.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Like, he does all of the things that you need to be a winner. And it's like, I understand what he's saying about. He needs to be in winning situations. So Dan, you won a chip with Kauai with Spurs? Wanted a chip with Kawhi with the Raptors? What is the fun guy really like behind the scene? I mean, just as you see, he's a very literal guy. He's like, you know, in the accident, where do you go from here?
Starting point is 00:42:08 You're down, 0.2. He's back to Toronto. Like, what do you learn about yourself? You mean basketball? You got to actually ask the specific question. But he seems happy, he looks happy. He's in a good space. He's all-NBA last year.
Starting point is 00:42:24 He played a lot of games. Again, like Gil said, he had one of the craziest growth spurts that I've ever seen. Like, nobody could predict that coming from him. He came in as a defensive guy. Like, oh, he'll be the next Bruce Bowen. He had wide, shoulders, long arms, big hands. Like, oh, he could be a defensive. And then you turn into a bucket like we've never seen before.
Starting point is 00:42:46 And we're like, know how he gets it done, but he was getting it done on both ends of the floor. But, yeah, he's going to be done on both ends of the floor. He's just a simple character, man. Right now it seems like he's enjoying life. You know, his son was born there. So he gets to go back. His kid's older. He's more mature now.
Starting point is 00:42:59 He's coming toward the end of his career. And he has a good group around him. I'm sure he's happy to be finally done. He's seeing him doing Chinese commercials and stuff like he's doing tours. He's really stepping out of his shell a little bit. Active on social media now? Yeah, he's active. But he's a hooper, man.
Starting point is 00:43:17 When it comes, like, end of the day, he's just who he is. That's what he's all about, being competitive. and hooping, and now he's trying to do other things, but he's a very simple guy, and it's very literal. Wow. But when it comes back to that, he said people were siding with him
Starting point is 00:43:34 over Pop, I think it was more of the league shifting, because Pop is used to doing things a certain way, and it started to become a player's league, and players starting in the power, and it's like the way he handled it media-wise, I don't think people agreed with how Pop handled it. Or not just Pop,
Starting point is 00:43:49 but the collective of the other guy speaking, Tony had said some things in the media as well. And then Pop said something like, you've got to talk to Kauai's people. And I think his people didn't take light of that. And also people like, yo, he was a young kid. You know. But yeah, he had some injuries.
Starting point is 00:44:05 That was strange. It was weird. He's bounced back from him. But like he said, he needs to be in an environment or he needs pressure to, like, to rise to the occasion. I think when he had his back against the wall, he shows who he is. He almost took the words out before.
Starting point is 00:44:21 he got hurt that KD team Oh yeah we was there Yeah, they was up by 20s. We was on, we was on, we was on We was on our way. Until he got hurt. Was you there, Nick? No, they was talking about it.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Okay, they didn't know what I was talking about it. The year before I got there, I mean, the year when 2017 Zaza ankle. Yeah, Quaid just This is right the year before he had the injury. A lot of asterx. This is Western Conference Finals.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Yeah, balling. Game one. Game one by. 20 or 30s. We was up 20 a half. And we was playing well, too. Yeah. Because there's moments where, you know,
Starting point is 00:44:59 him and LaMarcus, it wasn't as smooth. I'm telling you, yeah. Like, Marcus is getting buckets. He's getting boggust. Everybody's clicking. He's finding we in a rhythm. You're looking, I'm looking at Katie's face and he's looking like that.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Man, I'm telling Katie told him. I don't know why. Like, I'm not sure if this was the right decision. You can see it in his fucking face. For sure. And we just had DeWest the year before, too, and he had just went over there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:21 And I didn't realize. Kauai was out until they started coming back and I'm like what the fuck is this guy that? Was he going to come back? And he just never came back. I think it ended up being a sweep because he didn't play the rest of the series after that. It came back that game.
Starting point is 00:45:32 If we came one game one on the road in Golden State, not saying we won a series but it changes the way it looked too though. And again, I said it would have hit them in a different place. Yeah, I was really confusing what they was talking about because all I remember is muffers got swept. But it was different sweep? No, he was locking shit up. Kauai.
Starting point is 00:45:51 No, no, no. He was bawling that. Brother, I get that. But that's saying, if Kauai after that Toronto run and he stayed healthy, you could arguably put Kauai at number two. One of the top five players, like two-way players over. In his position. Over.
Starting point is 00:46:09 If he stayed healthy. Behind KD? No. Who's there? I mean, I say he's top five, two-way players. A lot of people. Small four of the bronze. Man, LeBron didn't have no position.
Starting point is 00:46:20 He just picked the position that kind of worked with which all-star he wanted to play with. So if he's looking at the list, I'm like, I know. I'll play the fourth. I want him as a starter. So I'm going to move to the two. Like, wait, what? Like, that's the shit that the brawlm was doing. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:38 So you were saying Kauai's a small forward, you put him at number. I said you could have argued that if he would have stayed healthy. Like above bird type thing, is that you're saying? No, above KD. So it's bird. Over KD? Him and KD. is people to stay healthy and had like a
Starting point is 00:46:52 what people thought after that Toronto won with the the Clippers wouldn't win the chip all that Well yeah if he stayed and healthy That's what I'm saying I mean Katie had a long gravity but like longer Obviously longer You're talking about scoring title one you know like when they were in that same frame
Starting point is 00:47:08 One was in scoring titles and MVP's Right so I'm down he has MVP Yeah I'm diluting my game to why I would have to have won an MVP But the way why it took over with Toronto And if he would have took over with Clippers that never won, shit like that I'm saying. You know what's so funny?
Starting point is 00:47:25 If you actually watch Toronto those two, three years, when LeBron left, they thought they were going to be the champions. They thought it was going to be the championship. If you asked anybody in Toronto when LeBron left with the Rosen, they thought they was going to win.
Starting point is 00:47:45 When they got Kuwait, they were like, oh, I mean, we should still get there. Yeah. We should still get there. No, they thought they had a better chance before we got there. Like when Brown left, they thought for short, let me say they thought they had a better chance because he was the reason why they couldn't get. Every time.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Yeah, they thought they could be, they can, because there was one, there was one in the east one of those years. So, LeBron was stopping them. LeBronto, but I think what that happened, LeBron going to the Lakers for the same year, I think Kaua, went to the river. That's what I said. So Toronto was like, happened a little bit after. But how he did it, though. That season, though. He went through a Philly that had Julian B, Ben Simmons,
Starting point is 00:48:19 Jimmy Butler at the third option. Milwaukee is still more... Yeah, Milwaukee. But Toronto thought they were the shit. He went through Jimmy Bullitt. And when they got Kauai, it was like, okay, weekend. I think Kauai has the highest win percentage. Jimmy Butler was in third option.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Kowah has the highest win percentage of Jambay of history minimum form game played, I believe. I was just a... Who else they beat? So, like, he brings... It was his... It was in the first round. Yeah. His playoff run?
Starting point is 00:48:48 Milwaukee. and then Golden State. His playoff performance was unreal. Like, he was on. He was just on. He was on. Like, he made it happen. But, I mean, you guys going to that team was just,
Starting point is 00:49:04 you got smart players going to a team that had smart players. Right? Remember, Gassol's there, Lari's. We end up trade from Mark later in the season. Yeah, later in the season. Like, you got guys that actually understood the game of basketball. so you put a great formula together. But the look of his deal, too, though.
Starting point is 00:49:22 But I think they were making that decision regardless of the Bronn left or not. Yeah. I think they were making decisions because of Braun possibly. Trying to get over the hump. Yeah. Now, if Braun stays.
Starting point is 00:49:32 I still think it's a pretty good matchup. I think it's a good matchup. I think the rapper might have got a game out of it. Why do you lock and shit up? I'm not going to why. If, if, I mean, if Katie and them didn't get hurt, it's a different. It's a different story.
Starting point is 00:49:46 We don't do. Hyperdetto still is. Diff and busts. Stretch. It was healthy for three years. Four two? Four one? Say again?
Starting point is 00:49:55 It was four one in the finals? Four two. Four two? Yeah. We tricked off the one at home. Should have been four one. We lost damn at all the home games. We won on the road.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Yeah, man. I think it's... If Ron even said, I think it's still a good matchup, because Quay matched up well with Ron. Yeah, he did. Yeah, I remember like that when he won a... When he won MVP at the finals, your Braun average, what, 28, 50% from 30% from 30% from 3rd000? That was the fucking year.
Starting point is 00:50:23 That was a young quad. My year. It was a young quad. I know, I know, I know. My year. Like, I mean, just. LeBron went through Toronto, everybody. That was his best year, I feel like, ever.
Starting point is 00:50:34 When we swept him, when he went through everybody with DeWay got hurt that year, he didn't play. He had Ideal Thomas was in play. He had Jordan Crawford for the, Really, it was a crazy team that he gained winners off backboards, floaters, and shit. It was crazy. So when we got to the finals with Cleveland? Yeah. That year before he went to the Lakers.
Starting point is 00:50:57 That's why he went to the Lakers. We swept him. But that year was crazy. Nah, I remember I even, I think I even, not tweeted, but I remember posting when it was in a, right before when he got to the championship and Kyrie and Love went down after like game one or something like that. and I said, hey, I hope y'all enjoyed this LeBron because you would never see it again. Now he's forced to play this game 100% or they're going to lose. So he's going to have some, I said, no one can stop him.
Starting point is 00:51:31 He stopped himself because, you know, he's, you know, trying to get everybody involved. This is going to be the selfish, the most selfish you can see because he has to do every day. He had 45 on this first. He only lost because that time out. 50 point triple double or some show like that. Hey, he was, like 35.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Like 508 and 8 or something like that? Yeah. Coded. One 11, 11, something. And listen, we played against him three years in a row. Watching film, watching him in real time, right? From the first year to when I was hurt and watched him on that last one. I mean, we used to all right.
Starting point is 00:52:06 It was like, what's going to be his worst year? We put him at 17, 6 and 6 when he retires. That's where we had him. Who, Braun? It might be somewhere in that. And we didn't even think he was going to last this long, but I mean. Yeah, you're 24, yeah. It was like, when you're watching him, when he turns it on,
Starting point is 00:52:26 there was nothing. We couldn't stop that, dude. We tried everything. We tried everything. We tried everything. That was so. He had me on the highland. He already got going.
Starting point is 00:52:39 He had about 30 in the final. He blew by me and dunked on Javelle. So, I said. All I ever, Draymond, Sill him right, Sill it right. That motherfucker, the flu. I saw it so bad.
Starting point is 00:52:52 I sent him. I sent his ass right. Drey Munt and Javelle was down there. Oh, my God. That shit was nasty. I remember that. Yeah. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:53:02 The only way he lost was that. You just make him shoot a jump shot. I hope he misses. Man. Like, I've seen, there's been a few people in history that were unstoppable.
Starting point is 00:53:14 You needed rules. Like, I know the Jordan's area. I wasn't there in real time, right? I was there for Cobb. Alan Iverson. Tracy McGrady, Shaquille O'Neill and LeBron. And then there was moments with Carmelo
Starting point is 00:53:39 where if they were going for 50 that night, There was no, there was no person on the court that was stopping them, right? It was, they were, they were so, they were so, they were so advanced and they had so much skill that when you're talking about, all five have to stop you, all five had to be in line to stop you. Right? I'm, I'm, like, cold averaging 35 with the team he had is shilly impossible. You had no one to spread the court. There was no other shooter on the team for us to even guard.
Starting point is 00:54:18 We are literally looking at you. 35. Alan Iverson. There's nobody on the team that is making them. We know where you're going. You're going to go. You're going to zipper, dude. We couldn't stop you.
Starting point is 00:54:31 Right? Shaq, obviously, we had to put a zone in. So there's been guys where it's like, yo, if only rules stop you, it was no human. Do you think James is like one of the most annoying ones that you part of it? can't stop. James Hardin? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Like most annoying ones that... I don't think he had a chance to, like, get James. James in his prime. That foul shit. I can tell you this. James did himself a disservice. Because James had an unguardable move
Starting point is 00:55:00 with unguarded ways of scoring. He stopped his self because he dribbled it. Yeah. Right? Like if James was backdoin or they had a simple offense, for when he wanted to score like backdoor slashes,
Starting point is 00:55:16 posting up, you know, like little things like that, little flares. He would average 40. He did it early in his career. Yeah, he would average 40. He was also jumping like 40 inches of air when he was younger. He ain't dunking people no more. That's why I think he stopped dunking.
Starting point is 00:55:28 He was going back door and dunking people. He stopped dunking. I mean, he was just like, that ability, it was just crazy. Kevin Durant just like, he didn't shoot enough. He didn't shoot enough. He needs to have, yeah. Like, if he was like, if he had the mindset, he didn't care.
Starting point is 00:55:43 He was like he had to be efficient. He was inefficient. Yeah, I mean, other than that, I mean, Tim, I mean, we couldn't stop Tim just, but he, Tim is on a goal with 20 to 25. That's it. That's all I need to do. That's it. Let's bring it back to Quirre quickly.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Time with the Clippers, marred by injuries, postseason failures. But after appearing in just 37 games, two seasons ago, played 65 games last season, average a career high at 28 points, and is in the midst of a 56-game 20-point scoring Street. Longest for a player age 30 or older in league history. So now seven-time All-NBA selection, two-time defensive player of the year. Back playing in the city where he's beloved and will inevitably get a statue. So Danny, you play with Kauai with the Raptors. How much will Kauai benefit from this change of scenery this season going from the Clippers back to the six? Oh, a lot. A lot. Run with his woes. A ton, because now he's surrounded by a talent where he
Starting point is 00:56:35 doesn't have to carry as much of the offensive load. You know, he had James with him most of the year last year that helped but when James was gone it was basically just him and I mean he had his career high and scoring but even career nights he had 55 point game or 50 point game for the first time most guys don't do it in the 30s and the fact that he's older now and he has defensive
Starting point is 00:56:55 threats around him with Scotty RJ like bigger bodies with some size and length that could make the game easier defensively and offensively it's going to change the game from a ton where he's not going to have to be the main focus and he can just you know scoring spurts when he needs to. And it'll keep his body fresh and they really just need him for the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:57:14 Right. And that's kind of what we did in 2019. Like we had him during the regular season. He sat quite a good amount. You know, he sat some back-to-back. As a load manager the first year that Lowe's management really started. And, you know, even those games that he sat, we played well as a group, but they just needed a superstar of playoffs. When the game slowed down, who can we get a ball to to make a play? Not only score, but make a play and get somebody else open and get us a good look. They're quite hard. I think both. said Clippers franchise record for most points in the game last season within like a month of each other. Both dropped 55 pieces.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Kauai did it against the Pistons. But Swagy, Inga, when you look at this Raptor Squad, fifth in the east last season, now you had Kauai to pair with Scotty Barnes, R.J. Barrett. Got a manual quickly. You got a... I don't know. I think they're... Intriguing crew there.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Just get to the playoffs. That's all Kauai pretty much more. I feel like... I think they're going to be the same spot. Fifth, six, around that range. But you just don't want to see Kauai in the playoffs, I feel like. And because he changes, he changed the game. He's a winner.
Starting point is 00:58:21 You know how to, you do certain things that affect winning. And he can score that ball and just seeing a star out there, you know, that adds that aura to it for sure. And you got to get Kauai credit off the court, too. Like his uncle is his agent that's doing all these. What he's been a Like the under the table and all this like Master master master
Starting point is 00:58:46 Masterclassing man Fennassing Bragg and bags Hmm 700,000 dollar fine to get another 120 million It's like you being his uncle who's moved away from that He's got a different agent now Oh that's what he's saying Yeah, you have to sign my new deal
Starting point is 00:59:02 Hall of Fame finester My new age It's our last one to get a home Thank you aunt Hall of Fame for Nessor I'm sure Uncle Dennis would be somewhere Like, what's the next topic, man? I'm, I'm just be honest, man. I'm give a fuck about what Toronto going to do.
Starting point is 00:59:14 Right. Okay. I'm happy for Kauai. I'm not watching a Toronto game like I didn't last year. Like I didn't a year before that. I've never watched a damn Toronto game. No, since. Vince Carter was the only reason him and Damon Stadmeyer.
Starting point is 00:59:31 That's the only reason we ever watched Toronto. If you, it'd be outside. Listen, they didn't hold another. But against Janus, when you see Toronto, When Kauai play, you watch. A whole other country. And you used to watch Dick play. And whole other country.
Starting point is 00:59:46 You used to watch Dick play. This is another country. You love Dick. Dick. We do not care of. Brady. Grady Dick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:53 You love watching Grady. We do not care about. You saw Dick at Summer League and I remember you're talking to Dick in his family. I'm sorry. All foreigners. You're going to see. Against USA. Certain matches you're going to watch.
Starting point is 01:00:04 So I'm not watching the goddamn. I'm not watching that. One day, good. One day. One day. One day. Listen. They gotta have beef with somebody to watch.
Starting point is 01:00:14 I can tell you, I don't even know they time zone. I can give a fuck, okay? Canadian. I don't care. So you're not gonna see when they match up with Philly? Toronto versus Philly? Why do I care? The only time I got to watch is when they play the Lakers.
Starting point is 01:00:30 I'm forced to watch that. You watched that game last season, Gil. Did you not? Huh? You watched that game last season? Yeah. Wait, when LeBron's scoring streak ended? Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:39 You watch Toronto versus the Lakers? Yeah. Because his street was going. The streak was going. Because I was trying to, hey, miss it, miss it, miss it. So you go to overtime. Kauai played Yonis in the East. Raptors are a sneaky team in the East.
Starting point is 01:00:52 I like what they got going out there. Kauai is motivated out here smiling. It feels like it's a different Kauai. The Kliper's curse lifted back in the six. But let's keep it moving, Gil. Let's keep it moving. Yonis and the Heat. Is that a team you'll watch?
Starting point is 01:01:06 Yeah. Oh, okay. Janice Heat looking to do some big things as well this season. Two-time MVP embracing heat culture. Yannis had high praise for the team earlier this week when asked about the standard he wants to set for himself and the team in South Beach. I've never been a part of someone like this.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Obviously, Milwaukee Vaks organization had the great history, great players played before me. But shares a whole different story. You've won a lot of championships. All-time great players with deep weight, Nebraska, his bus, a lot of morning, shag,
Starting point is 01:01:42 you can go down the line, but I just want to leave my mark. I just want to leave my mark, right? I want to know when this chapter is over it. I want to get for a year or two or whatever. It's going to leave my mark. I want to know that I have a great relationship with my coach
Starting point is 01:01:57 and my teammates with the fans. That's all. He sound Cuban already. He didn't South Beach that long already sound Cuban. That's crazy. Greco, Nigeria, Cuba. He's already embracing the culture over there. Okay.
Starting point is 01:02:14 Interesting. When you take Yannis out of Milwaukee, you put him into South Beach. That accent, actually, it flows or fits. But for the hearing of parrot, obviously, the sound was a little rough on now. When Yannis said, I want to leave my mark, I want to know when this chapter is over, if I'm only here for a year or two or whatever, I want to leave my mark. No, those are interesting comments coming from the Greek freak. Yanis eligible to sign an extension with the heat
Starting point is 01:02:35 on January 6th, Gil. Interesting day in American history. Your birthday. My birthday, baby. What are you doing? Yonis will be able to storm the heat capital. He's going to sign. He's going to sign the heat capital.
Starting point is 01:02:48 He's going to sign. I don't know he's not. Hell yet. Four years, 275 or three years, 214. He's able to. Yeah, so he can either get the four-year 275 if he opts out. He can get the three-year 214 if he opts in.
Starting point is 01:02:59 The 21-year deal would actually be more money for him. Wait a say, wait a say it again? So, four years, 275 if he opts out, or if he opts in with the final year of his deal and takes the three for 214, that would actually be more, a little bit more money. Ah, he's hopping in. Thank you, I told you. It'll be the same situation. It ain't the same situation.
Starting point is 01:03:18 The fuck are y'all talking about it. Don't be no dumb dumb. Man, you'll get some more. There's a three-year deal for 314. 2-14. 2-14. And then there's another deal for how much? Four year, 275.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Four year 275. That one that goes to 275, that's more than 214. All that per year shit goes out the window. 275 is guaranteed in my pocket. You know what I mean? Guaranteed. Four years, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:51 Yeah. Yeah. So, let's try this again. He's saying he should. Let's try this again. Let me try this again. So I already get this year, correct? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:04:01 So, okay. So one is technically. this year plus three. No. No, it's next year plus three. Next year plus three. Which equals four. And the other one is just three.
Starting point is 01:04:10 The one of next year is... If he opt out. If he opts out, it's four. Four. So there's two, four-year options on the table for him. He can opt in to the one next summer for 63 million that he's already going to get
Starting point is 01:04:20 plus 214 on top of that. It equals 277. Yeah. Or he can take four for 275. If he opt out. If he opt out. So what is it? What is it?
Starting point is 01:04:29 Do it again? Yeah. Four for 270. So, Janice, player option next summer, 2027. Option is for $62.8 million. So he can opt in. If he opts in. He gets three more years on top of that.
Starting point is 01:04:45 Three more years on top of that. For 214. For 214. That'll be 277. Okay. Or he can opt out and sign a four-year deal for $275. So if he opt out, then he has a four-year deal, $275. So on top, so it'll be five years, basically.
Starting point is 01:05:00 That's what he made it sound like, yeah. Both of them are four. Okay. So he's just not getting 66. Yeah, that's... He's not getting a 63. Either way. So he's not having not a 63.
Starting point is 01:05:09 If he opt out of the 63, he can sign a four for 75. If he opts into the 63, that year counts in addition to a three for 2.14. So that would be a four for 277 or something around that. So that's what the money would be. I don't know the specifics of how that works for whatever beyond that. Yeah, he says a $2 million. Yeah. It's the same thing.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Yeah. I thought, yeah, I thought it was like five years. I thought it was one one's getting extra year. Yeah. Let me. He's going to get paid, man. He's 30. How old now?
Starting point is 01:05:37 32, 33? Either way. 275, 277. He's getting in. Yeah. Brittuccini. Get your bag, man. But you didn't hear what this man just said, right?
Starting point is 01:05:46 But that's what, but rather it's a year or two. He hasn't signed. He's got it. He's basically. I want to leave my mark. I want to know when these chapters over. Because he don't know how it's going to go yet. A year or two, he ought to know.
Starting point is 01:05:58 He got in the Airbnb on the beach somewhere right now. He didn't buy a house yet. I can tell you this. I can tell you this. What? So if he's out there, he's definitely by now. Yeah. He can go to where else, though.
Starting point is 01:06:10 What Miami needs is a spokesperson. The reason that super teams aren't in Miami, even though Miami has the city everybody lives in in the summer, all a girl, like, it's the best place that you will want to be as an athlete. The one thing that they have against them is Pat Riley's. showed up. And he put that into like Fort Knox. Right? They got
Starting point is 01:06:38 a program there that makes sure South Beach ain't South Beach. Right? So they need someone They need someone to sell it. He's the only person in his personality that can call other players and get them to come there. Remember, free agents
Starting point is 01:06:57 really don't go there like that. So he's the only one that has a personality out of him for a hey man. You know, can you come on down to South Beach and blah, blah, blah. You think that starts a trend, though, with Yonis. Obviously, we talked about Pat Riley missing out because there's been guys who wanted to come. Dame wanted to come.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Guys who wanted to come didn't end up coming. But Yonis, now they're recruiting. Does that change the whole narrative perspective? They didn't want to trade the pieces. They were being stubborn with who they were willing to give up for some of those guys. But my point, it wasn't like Dame said, I'm not rocking. I don't want to do that. Yeah, no, people got traded there.
Starting point is 01:07:28 They wanted to go ahead. We're talking about when you're a free agent and you just go there on your own merit. It's like, Miami ain't been the place where everybody wants to go because you hear how hard. Yeah, with Clay, saw Yonah said, I'll take that risk. As I said, he's the only one I can call. Well, I think he's, I see more people to be coming there. Yeah, that's what I mean, I'm saying, you look at this roster and this squad and what they got going on,
Starting point is 01:07:52 especially around my garden, I got Bama and Janus. I just don't think he wants to count his eggs before they hatch. He's saying year or two, he hasn't signed an extension yet, so he don't want to say that. I forget it. He's like, if things go to shit early. Yeah, I'm out of this. If it don't work, um, I'm out of his mother. I think he's going to sign his deal, I think he'll sign his stay there.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Do Pat Riley like hearing that shit, though? Do Pat Riley like hear, whether it's a year? I'm pretty sure he came here now. He can't hear it like. Listen, I see, I see Janice's face in Milwaukee. Walking through snow and slit. He was happy. You get the walk outside like you back in your hometown.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Barefoot like a motherfucker, huh? Iguanas, though, dealing with different situations. Like, you got guanas all out the cribs, snakes out there just big. He's going to have a blast, you might. He's going to have a house there, bro. He's going to have a blast. He won't that, though. Like, like, think about that.
Starting point is 01:08:53 He was safe in Milwaukee. Nothing to do. Snow, you stuck in the house. You go to Miami as a foreigner, it's a different. That man got. He's trying to get nine, 10 kids. He's good at home. He's going to have 9 10 kids.
Starting point is 01:09:06 He ain't American. It's a lot of them out there. Only American are homeless. You can have 9 10 kids in one year. No, only American. Only Americans are homes. Only Americans are homes. Overseas people.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Those are loyal people. We're the ones. You just answered Joker question yesterday. See, that's the shit he's talking about. That ain't got nothing to do with the sport. They ain't got nothing to do with the sport. Bad booms. It's making us look bad.
Starting point is 01:09:31 Oversee's a lot. loyal was. See? He just said that. You know what his nickname was? Swaggy Mike Lorry, young. Uh-huh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:46 He's trying to be like Mike. Yeah, he's trying to be like Mike Lorry, man. He thought the city was his. But when you look at Yannis, a human being, obviously, that came from very, very modest beginnings. Takes a lot of pride in what he does. Takes a lot of pride in the ability to play basketball.
Starting point is 01:10:02 How much pressure do you feel like is on Yannis to leave his market? Talked about all the grace that play with that Heat franchise. Championship throughout their history, but the big names are future Hall of Famers. I don't say super pressure on him, but the organization to put him in a position too, there's a lot of pressure on Miami to be good now that you got him. It's pressure on him. It's pressure on him, but I think it's not directly just on him. No, because he's like he wanted to leave too, right?
Starting point is 01:10:30 You want to be in a winning situation? You got to surround him in a world. winning situation. You can't look like Milwaukee if he's like you can't have the same record you had last year. But they tried. You got to give it to Milwaukee. They tried. People don't want to go to Milwaukee. They tried to get him some players. They tried. But he wanted to play last season. You got him dame. You got him dame. So Miami now to do the same thing. He wanted to play last season. Bucks basically said no, we're trying to, you know, move on. Johnis is proven that he can win, right? He's got to have the right pieces around. Like you, now Miami has to do that for him.
Starting point is 01:11:00 They have to find the pieces around him that fit. Yeah. But there's pressure on him. I don't say zero, but there's definitely pressure. He got to win. You can't say I'm going to leave my mark. There's more pressure on him. There's more pressure on him.
Starting point is 01:11:12 There's more pressure on Kauai. No, it was more pressure on Yonah. Kauai. They squabbling. Way more pressure. The last time they seen Kauai is he was a champion. But he's older. So now they don't, you're coming back, we're expecting.
Starting point is 01:11:28 Seven years? But we're expecting something. You are Kauai. You are a hero. Like, think about how he came. He came as an injured man, hobbling on one leg, won us a championship. Eight years. And then you left.
Starting point is 01:11:41 You left on the 100. Like, we only see you in good light. For sure. So you coming back, all we know is what you did good here. He is the only person left from that team that is there. But, Yon is. Eight years ago. He talked about.
Starting point is 01:11:53 He's younger. He's younger. He's younger. He's younger. He's younger. He's a championship. Everybody that get traded. You said they go to Miami win championship.
Starting point is 01:11:58 that's a superstar. Shack, Wade, LaBron. He went to win. His whole thing is about winning the championship. You want to leave when Walker to go win a championship.
Starting point is 01:12:07 That's why I said it's zero. You pick Miami, though. Ain't like you didn't pick the team. That's why I said zero. You know why? You got to win. The reason I said zero is because the guy who makes
Starting point is 01:12:18 the calls up there. Can't blame Pat Roddy. The guy who makes the calls up there when he has a certain type of player, he builds a team around that player, And that player win within one or two years. So there's no pressure on Janus because Pat Roddy is going to give him
Starting point is 01:12:36 exactly what he needs. We hope. And if he give him what he needs, he got to win. You ain't got to worry about, we're not going to question Janice play. That's not going to happen. But you still got to win and leave a mark. You say he want to leave a mark.
Starting point is 01:12:51 I have this pressure on them. Okay. Especially the fact they kept losing first round exit. Yeah. I didn't have Janus. Yon has lost those That's in that That's under another nigga spell
Starting point is 01:13:02 When I was Pat Riley And I got my slick back head Right? Who do I have? I have magic What was he? Number one pick Right? I had Kareem
Starting point is 01:13:11 Who was he? Number one pick? James Worthy Number one pick There was no pressure We win it There's no pressure And then when I come to Miami
Starting point is 01:13:19 I really have nothing I draft the Wayne Wade Right I get Lamar old I'm thinking they can work Then it's like You know what I can make this shit for Shaq
Starting point is 01:13:26 Right boom, and he does something that no GM would do, he went out and got some of the worst personalities in basketball, all at the same time, put them all on the same team. When you're talking about Party Central, Shaq, like this is around a young D-Wade, he brought Shaq, GP, Antoine Walker,
Starting point is 01:13:57 Pose it. Like he had the party team. Was Jason Williams? Yeah, Jason Williams. They built the strip club in the... I mean, they built a barbershop in the strip club. That's how long with him. But he knew I'd be winning a championship
Starting point is 01:14:10 because I got Shaq and Wessonam. So it don't even matter. He took that chance. He's going to take the chance and he's going to put the pieces around Janus. He has somebody who can dominate and he's going to do it. I'm just looking at how... Kyrie would probably be there.
Starting point is 01:14:23 Like, he's going to do it. He's going to make the pool. He's going to make the pool. He's going to. He better. Again, there's pressure on both parties. Yes. But again, I've seen Janice unfold being a one-seat, losing to eight-seat.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Man. With Jimmy taking him out a couple of times. Then losing Indiana the year before, Halliburton in overtime. You're talking about the same one team, spanking him. Now he's on this team. He's like, Katie, I'm on this side. Indiana was a different team. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:14:47 Pace is twice. I'm on this team. And your daddy came in his face like, what do you? Wade down. Did he clap or waved? They said Halliburne's daddies couldn't come to the game for running an hour of him. I'm on the team. You got the niggins daddy banned because he's
Starting point is 01:15:00 in your face. Did my bow to hit? I'm on the team. Boom. That makes it happen. I ain't got no pressure. I know, I know pops up there. I know Mickey.
Starting point is 01:15:12 I know they're going to do their research. They know different than San Antonio. They find and their players. Kenyan's daddy. I mean, they find their players. They know what they're driving. Did he go to the Miami game? Huh?
Starting point is 01:15:23 When they play in Miami, can his daddy go? Halliburton's dad, I believe, come to the games now. They said his daddy can't come to the games now. You're going to tell my daddy. You're going to tell my daddy can't come to the game. I'm the franchise player. My daddy can't come in the game.
Starting point is 01:15:35 He's going to sit where he's set. I feel like Janice's pressure more self-inflicted on himself and where he wants to be, what he wants to prove. Situation in Milwaukee obviously was nasty. Then purposely sidelining him like my pop said when he was on the couch. He'd be out there working out before the games, putting on, you know, freakish dunk displays, letting everybody know he's still him
Starting point is 01:15:54 and not have to go sit and watch this franchise that you basically built. You're the greatest player all time for deliberately tank. That's just not something he's in line with. So I think for him, his mentality is I've got to come in this season. Inga, you pointed out, you said you can see the heat being the number one seat. I think looking at that roster, a lot of questions initially. But I'm looking at that team, and it's like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:14 I mean, it's the best team they've had since they won a championship with bra on them when they went to the finals. When they lost y'all in the finals? The team right now is better than... than Jimmy's finals run team. He'll go crazy. He's on dope, boy. I tell you, that's a strong, boy.
Starting point is 01:16:30 It's yet to be seen. I disagree. It's yet to be seen. I think that Jimmy with Tyler, Hero, Bam, and some shooters, Max Struz. Better than that. And other guys they added,
Starting point is 01:16:41 Dunker Robinson was good for them. Motherfucking Robinson. Okay. It gave him 90. No, they gave him 30. It looked like it's 90. Five years, 90. It looked like 90.
Starting point is 01:16:51 It was a whole bunch of him. He stayed all five years. He had to make the money. playoffs that to make it to the finals. It was a whole bunch of bonuses. This his squad don't look as bad as I think initially thought. You think even by a guy like Pell Larson who signed a four or six.
Starting point is 01:17:03 Yeah, I think he's solid. He's solid. Like, they're just got-a-bbing. Maybe Yon is good. I still got BAM. So BAMs catchle each other out, right? He said that's better than him around. I have Janice versus Jimmy Butler. I have a two-time MVP.
Starting point is 01:17:17 Oh, you're talking about better than that. Finals MVP. Oh, the Jimmy Pillar. Right. So, yes. Not even close. That's not even close. So the last good team that they had
Starting point is 01:17:26 was the team that they lost for them. Jimmy was taking him out. Jimmy team better. Jimmy was taking him out. Because they had BAM still, though. So BAMM is still BAM. Now the number one option is Yonis versus Jimmy. I have a two-time MVP.
Starting point is 01:17:40 His worst year is 27 and 11. I'm taking that. The rest of that trash is the rest of that trash. In the playoffs. Hey, but I'm not talking about the player. Jimmy would be more like you would need him because he can. make shots on half court.
Starting point is 01:17:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah. So after that, who else is matching up? Clay versus Tala Hero? Oh, yeah. I'll say Clay and... Williams? Williams, yeah. I say Clay and Tim Hardaway Jr.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Yeah, brother, they'll mop that team. That was the AAUs. What was that? What was that? Nobody? No, he was there. He was just with Lakers. He went to Atlanta.
Starting point is 01:18:17 Nobody? If he played for the Lakers, he was a nobody. Gay Vincent. Who? Gay Vincent. Who? Shamar Moore. Samar Moore.
Starting point is 01:18:24 Samar Moore from the lecture. Oh, they had Warren, too. Caleb Martin was pulling up Eastern Conference finals numbers. Yeah. Give him Boston love. My fuck I said Gay, man, shit. Bro, Gay was bawling.
Starting point is 01:18:41 I didn't even know his name when he got hit by the first shit. I was like, and I was happy. I thought we was getting the Miami Heat in the playoffs. Gabe. They didn't say that. He's got a nigga from Santa Barbara. They all had injuries when they came here. What's the name had the same issue?
Starting point is 01:19:01 Like, K. Nunn. He was nice. He had injuries when he came. Bro, they had either. None, yeah. That team he went had, what, seven players that went undrafted. Starting point is 01:21:06 If you don't win, you have no power. It's real. Starting point is 01:22:09 And we'll discuss the game that brought us together, because nothing is off limits. Do you remember your initial reaction when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup? I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no? I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly love the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. But in my head, it was the long game.
Starting point is 01:22:33 It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. He said, this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life. And it is your job to make sure that you enjoy the moment. Starting point is 01:23:05 I'm cool. I'm taking this. You, L.A.? No, he went to the books. No, he's going. Himei gone. They took everybody, bro. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:23:12 You got Damiena Mitchell. I'm just saying, you got a crew there. He got to give up a lot to get yonis. They gave up a lot to get yon. They gave up a lot of nothing. But you got a squad that one of the fastest. teams in the NBA last season in terms of pace, if they can replicate that with this golf for at least 60, 70% of the season. I like Bobby Porter is a good thing.
Starting point is 01:23:29 Bobby Porte is off the bit. I mean, you know what I mean? Like, they've got, I'm not going to say they're... Yet to be seen. We'll see what kind of run they make. I don't think it's the finals. So if they don't make the finals, they're not better than Jimmy's team. Whoa, that you know you can't do that because the East team, the East team ain't the same as when Jimmy was hit.
Starting point is 01:23:43 That's the worst. That's the one. That's the one. Yonis's team, like, bro, Yonis's team was good. He played against. And they beat the boss and Celtics. They beat Boston, too. You're saying,
Starting point is 01:23:54 ad bam right now with the team he has, and then you revert everybody's team back to when Jimmy went to the playoffs, that Eastern Conference team, you're saying Miami won't make a day. No. With Boston how they was good, how, you can't take up, because now you got Milwaukee, but Milwaukee was good. Those teams are good. They beat.
Starting point is 01:24:14 They went to the finals. They were from playing eight seed to make into the finals. Huh? Did Milwaukee won a championship before that? Yeah. Yeah. See? No, they was good.
Starting point is 01:24:25 And that championship team got their ass blown out by a hurt Nets team. And they had to hurt one mole player to get out of that series. And then they almost got their ass whooped in the Hawks series. That championship Milwaukee team. Almost does not. Yeah, almost. Yeah, the ref. They needed the ref.
Starting point is 01:24:42 The ref had to get Tray Young out the series. Just so we can remember. And then remember the sons, that team was. whooping the buck's ass into who? A ref had to come in and help. The Foster freeze. Every game they lost. They lost four straight because of a ref.
Starting point is 01:25:01 Scott Foster, good at his job. How many games? How many games did Foster do? Milwaukee was good, bro. Three? Three out of the four? Damn. It's because they lost some games.
Starting point is 01:25:08 Three out of the four? A lot of three. They was two and O. And then Foster came to town. Game what? Three, five. Three five and three five and three. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:25:19 I'm just saying. I think they could have. Only two games for Scott Foster. But they were impactful. And KD. Foot was on the line. But it was hurt. Game three and game six. Game three and game six.
Starting point is 01:25:28 Game three, we need them to turn the tide. Game six. All right, let's just wrap it up. So you get two games. He did two games. This is how bad the series was. But they won four straight, right? So game three obviously started that streak.
Starting point is 01:25:38 Okay. Game six was the elimination game. The line opened up as son's favorite. When the referees came out and it said, Foster, all money. switch, put it on the bucks. I even have 5K on it. I was, oh, shit, take that off.
Starting point is 01:25:58 Damn. Yeah, so. They won, though, man. I mean, they won. They got the, they got the... If Miami, he don't make a run to the final, they're not better than that finals team. Yeah, they better.
Starting point is 01:26:06 Jimmy brought that team to the finals a couple times. He brought Tyler here when he was a rookie to the finals. And band was young, too. That's how bad. Beat them. Beat that ass. That's how bad the east was. They beat teams.
Starting point is 01:26:17 They beat two good teams. I feel like the bucks mentally had checked out at that point. You can speak too better now. Again, so you can match up Jimmy to the Yannis 101. Of course, Janice is a better player. But when it comes to bringing a team to win it, Jimmy's one of the best most people to do it. Like bringing guys to like he had better run.
Starting point is 01:26:35 Who was the best player on the Milwaukee Bucks? Yeah, that's what. No, second best. You're the winner. Chris? Chris Middleton. Who's better Bammer and Chris Middleton? Who's all the star?
Starting point is 01:26:47 At that time, Chris Militin. Who's a better player? Bam or Chris Middleton? At the time. Before he was hurt. When Jimmy was taking with Bam, who was a better player? Chris. Chris?
Starting point is 01:27:01 When they was winning, when Milwaukee won a championship in a year after, Chris was an all-star. I don't think Bam was an all-star yet. Bam was an all-star yet. There's a young Bam. Yeah, where are you going with this? He's saying Ben is better than Chris. Yeah. He ended up being better yet.
Starting point is 01:27:16 Yeah. Chris got older. Bam is. Yeah. He got hurt to his knees and shit. They had Drew Holiday there. Yeah. Another All-Star.
Starting point is 01:27:24 Brooke Lopez. Yeah. He was younger. They had Bobby Ford is still there. They had guys there, bro. He's the same. You just said Bobby Porter is going to help them win. Bam not played a player of the year, but finished fourth and defensive player of the year voting was second team on defense.
Starting point is 01:27:39 Said again? Fourth. BAM was not an all-star in those seasons, but did finish fourth and defensive player of the year. Uh-huh. And second team all defense. Now, maubly, right now. Average in 19 and 10. So he averaged 19 and 10 and second team all defense was better than Chris Middleton.
Starting point is 01:27:54 What, what did the Christmas average? In that 21, or 20-21 season, or BAM average, excuse me, yeah, 19. 19. 19. 19 and 9. 19, 9, 5 assists in the 2020, 2020, season. Chris Middleton, 20, 20 a game. Yeah. 20 a game. This is...
Starting point is 01:28:19 All right, well. Ball until we're going to playoff. from
