Starting point is 00:04:22 Here's what's cracking in the arena today. The Mavs and Wolves met in Minnesota Tuesday for the first time since the Western Conference Finals, and it was deja vu all over again. Does the West still run through Dallas? The Bucs are 1-3 this season, having advanced past the second round since winning the chip in 2021. How much blame does a franchise player deserve for the current state of the franchise? And with two starters out, Steve Kerr decided to move Jonathan Kaminga to the bench. But how should Kaminga feel about the decision?
Starting point is 00:04:53 He did play season-high minutes. They did get the win. He a team player. But before we get into all that, as always, this show is brought to you by Underdog. And if you can't watch the show live with us on YouTube, we got audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever
Starting point is 00:05:54 you get your podcasts. So we're going to start this with a little baseball. Game 4 of the World Series featured one of the wildest moments in recent memory as two Yankees fans put up more of a fight than their team had up until that point. Da-da-da-da-da. During the first inning, as Dodgers outfitter Mookie Betts attempted to catch a ball in foul territory, two Yankees fans decided to crash out to help their team with one grabbing Betts' glove with both hands
Starting point is 00:06:19 and trying to rip the ball out, while the other held Betts' non-glove. It's not funny. He could have got hurt, but just the level of desperation was comical for me. The play was ruled as fan interference. Both the fans were ejected from the game. Thankfully, Betts wasn't injured. After the incident, ESPN interviewed the main fan
Starting point is 00:06:39 who watched the remainder of the game at a local bar, and he said, we always joke about the ball being in our area. We're not going to go out of our way to attack. If it's in our area, we're going to D up. So the Dodgers went on to not win the game, but take a 3-1 series lead in the game five tonight. They did not win. They did not win.
Starting point is 00:07:01 The Dodgers did not win. The Yankees were going to allow the fans to attend game five, but the MLB stepped in, and both of them have been banned from the stadium and had their tickets refunded. But what's your reaction to seeing the desperation of Yankees fans trying to keep their team in the World Series? Well, did they get to keep the ball?
Starting point is 00:07:19 The ball popped out onto the field after that. That would have been worse. Didn't get the ball, didn't get the glove. I mean, it changed the game. But got the duck. Helped him win. Mm, unfortunate. Hello, um, so it was a foul ball and he's trying to make it out? Foul ball, Mookie's trying to catch it, it ends up going near the stands, so as fans you're not allowed to interfere with the ball, you got to let the player try to make the catch. So not only did they interfere, they tried to rip his glove off
Starting point is 00:07:48 after he had the ball in his hand and knocked the ball out. So it's an out. So it's a... What do you call it? It's a decision they have to make
Starting point is 00:07:57 in real time to either give them a foul ball or let the opposing person try to get it out? He caught the ball, though. So it's an out. So it's an out.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Yeah, yeah. So it's an out either way. They were just trying to take it out of him. Oh, he caught it, and then from there, give me this. Give me this, you bastard. That's all fair. That's fair play right there. You got your out.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Now give me the ball. That's it. What's the problem play right there. You got your out. Now give me the ball. That's it. What's the problem? Was somebody on base, though? Not sure about that. Like I said, if it interferes with the outcome, then okay, yeah. But the outcome is he caught it out. Fair ball.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Now let's go. Now let's see if you're strong enough to keep this shit. It is New York, dude. It is New York. You're on the road, man. You're on the road. Because I guarantee you if... Nobody on base. I guarantee you if that was the other way around and the Yankees was on defense, they wouldn't interfere with that. You're going to get this out. They might hit it to you. Boop! Catch! defense they wouldn't interfere with that you don't get this out they might they might hit it to you
Starting point is 00:09:11 I don't know man y'all thought you were a lot of the six I am thank you Dodgers and six doctors the whole team is six what it's these games they can win a six I'm coming back to oh is it four is it four games three one right now and something for I was tonight yeah six or seven will be in LA game five They can win in six. I'm coming back to LA. Is it four games? It's 3-1 right now. Game five is tonight. Game six and seven will be in LA. Game five is tonight in New York. Oh, yeah. New York will win this one,
Starting point is 00:09:31 and we'll win in six. Let's send it over to this side of the couch. Cemetery Larry, I'm sure you have a devilish opinion on this situation. What do you think about the two Yankees fans trying to crash out on Mookie Betts at the World Series?
Starting point is 00:09:46 Mookie, you in New York. The only Mookie we know is Spike. M-M-M-M-M-Mookie! We ain't got no respect for you. Man, your glove or your wrist or your hand. M-M-M-M-Mouth, bro. Don't you bring that over here. We ain't fans. We stands. We will rip your hand off, bro. We not playing. We desperate. Listen, though.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Yankees and seven. And seven what? Game seven. It's not going that far. Yeah, it's not going that far. If they can win three in a row, why can't we? Because you're not the Dodgers. But we are.
Starting point is 00:10:22 We're better. First of all, you're not winning one in L.A. You're not winning one in L.A. You're not winning one in L.A. Baseball goes a certain type of way where you can win three in a row the same way they won. You're not winning one in L.A. Just like we just won last night. We were playing in honor. Did we just win?
Starting point is 00:10:35 So you got to win four in a row. You're supposed to sweep them. So you got to win four in a row. You up 3-0. Sweep them. Take them on. Hey, no question is that. You're going to beat the Dodgers two times in L.A.?
Starting point is 00:10:43 How many times have the Dodgers played the Yankees? In the World Series? In the World Series. I think this is their 12th meeting, if I'm not mistaken. Met 11 times before. First time since 81? 83? This is the first time since 81.
Starting point is 00:10:58 But they've met 11 times before that. Before that, it's the 12th meeting. So think about it. But who do they got to play to win the next three games? Are they going to have anybody for that last game? It don't matter. We got to win, and we're going to win. You got to win.
Starting point is 00:11:12 You got to win out. The pressure on the Dodgers to close. Bro, listen. We're not. The Yankees are here. They got to take it. It's glorified. This is what it is.
Starting point is 00:11:22 It's hard to look at you. What happened when Cleveland was down to them Warriors? No. He was down to them Warriors. They said, you could never come back from this. The man said, huh? I'm the greatest of all time. Watch me do this.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Yankees do not have LeBron. Yeah, they do. They got Aaron Judge. Yes, yes. What do you mean? He's a cyborg. They're saying they're the same series. He ain't been showing up. Series three. Aaron Judge ain's like, yes, yes, he's a mean. He's a cyborg. They saying they the same series. He ain't been showing up.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Series three. Aaron Judge ain't been showing up. So like somebody like him, he will play in all the games, right? Who? Aaron Judge. Yeah. So who misses games? Pitchers.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Pitchers. Starting pitchers. Okay, so. We got Ohtani, bro. We got who? With the Yankee shoulder. Shohei. Know what I'm saying? What did he do last night? So to win this game, you're going to have to put your best.
Starting point is 00:12:06 He didn't show up. You have to put your best. Freeman been hooping. Freeman been hooping. Yeah, Freeman is a beast. You got to rotate pitchers through. There's a little strategy involved. He might be one of the GOATs.
Starting point is 00:12:14 But Yankees are going to get smacked tonight, so it's a moot point. I got a sense. Like, okay, let's say they win this. Who's the pitcher for game six? Jack Flaherty's pitching tonight for the Dodgers. Cook. Yamamoto probably pitch game six. Yamamoto might not be Cook.
Starting point is 00:12:30 I like him. Where's that boy who pitched the first game for y'all in the 10th inning? Nestor Cortez, who gave up a grand prize. Bring him back. We like him. He's done. We like him. Please bring him back.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Don't worry about him. He's a suicide watch. He's in the basement. We good. We got him in the basement. He's good. watch. He's in the basement. We good. We got him in the basement. Yeah, there's blood on his back. Don't pitch like that ever again. When we see him, we know.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Ever again. Ever again. Who put him in? Who put him in? They just throwing somebody in there. They got Marcus Stodham sitting right there. They want to throw him in. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Stodham got to prove it. He can. He got to prove it. He got to fight. He's a dog. Can't just be good. That's why they down 3-1 now. They got that dog.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Either way. All right, well, let's keep this moving. So Colts, second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson has been the subject of scrutiny after a rough week 8 performance and a loss against the Texans. So during the third quarter, after scrambling to evade a sack, Richardson tapped his helmet, subbed himself out of the game in the third quarter, after scrambling to evade a sack, Richardson tapped his helmet, subbed himself out of the game in the third quarter.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Man, tight. I ain't gonna lie. That was a lot of running right there. That's what I did. And I don't think I was gonna be able to go to that next play. So I just, you know, just told Sam I just needed
Starting point is 00:13:38 a break right there. Wait, wait. Hold on. Paulo, hit the button. Now keep it right there. Okay. Was he 10 for 32 in passing? 10 for 32, 175 yards, a TD and an interception in the game.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Like I mentioned, tapped himself out for one play in the third quarter. So a lot of football analysts and experts are extremely salty about the move and decision. Apparently the Colts are as well. They decided on Tuesday to bench him in favor of Joe Flacco. But according to reports, they still believe he can be their franchise QB down the road. He got benched for...
Starting point is 00:14:15 So you... What year is this? You were taught to play your hardest, right? This year. Were you taught to play your hardest? Every possession? This past weekend. So you run 40 yards yards and you get tired. Hey, man, tell me real quick, just one little play. Because the running backs get it.
Starting point is 00:14:31 The running backs get to do it. The receivers get to do it. The quarterback is probably the only one that don't get to do it. Lamar Jackson, they got to run all the way down and come back and do that same thing again. They're the only ones that got to really do that. Actually, I need to hear. I don't want to hear from outside people. I want to hear from quarterbacks that is like
Starting point is 00:14:49 him. As a rookie. Second year. When you make certain type of plays, right? Like this play is instinct, right? Which means he's using energy that he didn't think about using. Adrenaline. Right? He got to where he needed to get to. Now, as a receiver, this man just told you he subbed himself out because he was tired. Now, tell
Starting point is 00:15:16 him to throw the ball to you for a touchdown pass. What the fuck you think is going to happen? Like, you really want him to pass the ball or try to make a great play? Be entire I'm trying to figure out what the problem is crazy The smartest move for him was to sub out. Give me a break 30 seconds wasn't enough between the next night Let me get in a little minute you go in y'all kick a field goal and get three points what the problem is I'm already playing bad. It's already like 60 seconds between plays.
Starting point is 00:15:46 If Curry got pressed and did all this and came back and hit a shot and then came back on defense and then he got the ball and say, yo, it's the last second. Give me a timeout. You can take a timeout, right? I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Probably don't waste that for strategy. Ain't that the sub signal? No. A tap. Tap on the head. Boom, strategy. That's that. Ain't that the sub signal? Yeah, no. It's the sub. A tap. Tap on the head. Boom, boom. That guy, get me.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Get me. I got you. Real quick. Coaches used to reward you. If you do this before I take you out, you can just walk back in the game. If you sub yourself out because you know you tired, do it before I sub you out because you look tired. If I see you tired,
Starting point is 00:16:28 you ain't coming back in the game on your own, Mary. He got bliss, right? Now, who's blocking for him? Maybe your ass should have subbed the fuck out. Because you was tired and you couldn't block for him to come do that. How about that? It's like I'm trying to figure
Starting point is 00:16:43 it's really bothering me when I'm watching, like, as a team. Isn't that what you want him to do? He's tired. Sub out. Yeah, why ain't that pick a swing? Or call a turn. Like, sub out. Like, why would I want you to try to do something while being tired?
Starting point is 00:17:01 I don't want you to try to do a pass. Because I'm pretty sure if he throws a pick and then they ask him, yeah, so what happened on that last pick? He's like, I was a little tired and I was trying to get it there. They'll say, why you didn't sub out? Right? That would be exactly the answer. Why don't you do some extra sprints?
Starting point is 00:17:17 Hey, just get it. Are you out of shape? Yes. Or do I just play hard? The champ pointed out, Flacco came in and just handed the ball off. Are you out of shape? Yes. I mean, I said in the podcast. Or do I just play hard? You play hard. The champ pointed out, Flacco came in, just handed the ball off. Yeah. You are that tired.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Did he call that play? Did he call that play? Run that play or make another pass. And he's like, oh, shit. Can I tell them I'm tired? Hey, look, I'm tired, man. Can I run the play? Can I do just a run?
Starting point is 00:17:42 What if the play was a handoff play? Huh? What if the play was just a handoff? I'm pretty sure you just... But no, in the moment, you don't know. You just tired, man. It's up me out. I'm tired, bro.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Traditionally, quarterback not supposed to tap out, supposed to be the leader. And I'm 10 for 32, man. But what I'm saying, that's not a leader? I'm trash right now. Let me sit out and figure this out real quick. I'm struggling. Hey, mama, you see this shit out here?
Starting point is 00:18:04 That's not... They not running for no outs. I'm just throwing it to nobody. I'm struggling. Hey, mama. You see this shit out here? That's not the shit. They not running for no routes. I'm just throwing it to nobody. I'm just throwing it to nobody. Help me. Talking to the dude out there. Send him some brownies or something. I got it. I'm just trying to figure out as a leader, you're
Starting point is 00:18:17 tired. Tap out. But the fact that... He got benched. No, fuck that. It's like at what point did they say all right listen just don't pass the ball no more exactly 10 for 32 at what point well what point at hey hey just hand this shit we're just playing we're just gonna run let's go do our trick play not hitting no targets yes Are they not catching it? I mean, it's the Colts, so.
Starting point is 00:18:48 They're rebuilding right now. I know if I get 32 passes, I can get three. I can get three. That means he's only seven more than me, and he's a professional footballer. I can do this. Hike, uh. That's one. Hike I can get I can do this I can do that you can't do that little out routes. I do it on a video game all the time. Like huh? Go like good short five Tim Tebow Tim Tebow didn't go 10 for 32.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Mm. Mm. And at what point did you... You're a rookie, man. You got to learn. You think the actual game may be a little bit harder than the video game? No facts.
Starting point is 00:19:37 That's why I said I can get... I can get... You give me 32, I can get three. We will find out. 32. I probably get sacked about 15 times, but that's them. Ah, shotgun. That's them.
Starting point is 00:19:49 They got a block. I got time, shotgun. As soon as I get it, throw it. 32. Throw it. I can get 32. I can get three. Richardson last in the NFL with a 44.4 completion percentage.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Oh, completion. Was he supposed to be good? Yeah, he was. No, he is good. He's good. He'll be okay. He's be good? Yeah he was. First round pick. He's good. He'll be okay. He's just young. He with a team.
Starting point is 00:20:09 He's with the coach. He's with the quarterback. Those other black quarterbacks that went to bad teams and didn't really have no guidance, no mentorship where they can learn how to get through tough times. So they gonna get two, three years before it's like give up on them. So if he don't get to another team where he can really play with a real line and a real OC, calling real plays, you know what I'm saying, not putting him in
Starting point is 00:20:29 jeopardy, he'll be good. But he in the place now, he got to prove he good. Football is weird because, like, let's just say the NBA. Your first three, four years is like we, you are developing. Like, the greats, the people who's supposed to be Hall of Fame or first three, four years is like we, you're developing.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Like the greats, the people who's supposed to be Hall of Famer first ballot, you're going to see them shining early. You're going to see the Lukas, the Jaws, right? You're going to see them early, the Ant-Mans, the Shays. And then, you know, the rest of the field kind of catches up and there's going to be a couple Hall of Famers that kicks in about year three, year four. And football, why does rookies have to be great within the first three years? That just doesn't make, like, how are you supposed to know the game of football in the ins and out of it when this is the first time that you're entering? Right?
Starting point is 00:21:24 These are your 10 for 32 years These are you know you you run where you don't supposed to you stay in the pocket too long That's this year you you miss reading you're doing one check down like that's these years when you got a watch film for a year Two years to really understand the game itself Like they're not gonna know what these blitzes in man for a year, two years, to really understand the game itself. Like, they're not going to know what these blitzes and man. And then it's, that's the veterans. The guys who are blitzing.
Starting point is 00:21:55 It's like, you ain't ever seen this type of dude coming at you like this. He's 10 times faster than them linebackers that was in college. And he's ready to chew you up. Like, what's up? Then you ain't never seen these quarterbacks running the way they run and the safeties baiting you to throw it you know we're gonna be there when you throw it we know the difference is less games every game matters more nba you get 82 game season still you got time to figure it out the concept of let's say he is supposed to be your quarterback and your team ain't that good isn't this when you let him just go out there and learn and develop?
Starting point is 00:22:25 Yeah. But he got to stay in the game, Gil. Supposed to be. He can't tap out. And then they act like they winning. They're trying to win. They're trying to, like, get ticket sales, and they're trying to win. And really, you're not.
Starting point is 00:22:34 You just don't win. Like, Joe Flacco's old, right? Yeah. Like, what is the point? Like, what is going to happen this year with Flacco starting, him being benched, and then he has to be the starter next year? It's embarrassing, and it's fuel. Right?
Starting point is 00:22:49 He's got to be the starter next year. What does he learn? What is the game-time experience? Nothing. You set him on the bench, and he has to learn. Still nine weeks left in the season, though, so no telling how long this will be. Like, when Brady, Brady's first year, did he play? No.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Second year, did he play? Bless so God. Third year? Second year. Second year, he play no second year? Did he play bless? Oh god third year? Second year he got in a little bit bless. Oh god hurt How did he look Okay, huh? He was the game manager right energy. So his second year in the league He was more of a game manager year three He got a little bit more wiggle room and then once he realized what he was doing The goat is it's the GOAT.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Like, you... I don't get the concept. And he explained it, though. Tom explained it. The years he spent in college was to develop. Mm-hmm. Then the two years he spent developing under Bledsoe, under, um, Belichick, third year,
Starting point is 00:23:41 he's like, man, I'm learning this thing on the fly, but now that I get to play and see and learn at the same time, I'm ready to go. Year four, now you know my name. That's what? That's four years of college? Then three years? Seven years of development. Tom's sixth, I think sixth round pick, if I'm not
Starting point is 00:24:00 mistaken. A little bit different than Anthony Richardson. And think about it, these guys are playing, they have to play three years,. These guys are playing. They have to play three years, right? College, yeah. You have to play three. So now they can't wait to leave their third year. Many of them don't want to stay four. So they get to that third year.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Who translates easier from college to the pros? Like which position? Like what position that they get drafted, and then they have, like, a faster impact? Like, the game, linemen? Offensive linemen. But nonetheless.
Starting point is 00:24:39 So receivers, too, they still, because they got to. Well, it's the difference between them and speed and power and size. With the linemen, it's like they all just big boys. Okay. All right. Well, let's keep this thing moving. Football is in full swing. Baseball is in the World Series.

Yeah, running backs as well.
Starting point is 00:25:35 But let's head over to basketball. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has gained a reputation for thinking outside the box with his approach to life and coaching. Mazzulla made an appearance on the Zolak and Bertrand show and offered these thoughts on how the league can add some more entertainment value. The biggest thing that we rob people of from an entertainment standpoint
Starting point is 00:25:54 is you can't fight anymore. I wish you didn't bring back, like, fighting. I mean, I'm not against that. I'm not against those days in the NBA. What's more, yeah, I mean, you want to talk about robbing the league of entertainment. What's more entertaining than a little scuffle? I agree.
Starting point is 00:26:10 How come in baseball they're allowed to throw the benches? How come in hockey they're allowed to play? I don't understand. So, Missoula went on to say, I just don't get why some sports are allowed to clear the benches. We just have a ball. The other sport has one of the hardest surfaces and playing instrument in pucks and sticks and we're not allowed to throw down a little Bit so what do y'all think about Joe, Missoula saying the NBA should bring back fighting? I
Starting point is 00:26:37 Don't think people want to see their favorite player get knocked out Like I don't... Just... I mean, football is more aggression. Like, I get that. Like, you know, let them... Hockey, same thing. They're on the ice. Like, you can, you know, baseball with a bat. Like, basketball is kind of like,
Starting point is 00:26:55 what are you going to do? Throw the ball at somebody's face? You're going to sock somebody in the face? Nah, you're just going to find out a lot of these guys can't fight. Yeah. But it's no... Ooh, he can't fight.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Ooh, he can't fight. Ooh, he can't fight. I mean, well, then that means basketball players are going to have to start taking boxing classes. Or just not fight. Or just not... Yeah. Just talk it out.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Let it go. Let it go. I don't think we need to fight, though. I get what he's saying, but I don't... Is there someone on his team, on his team right now, that thinks
Starting point is 00:27:24 if Isaiah Stewart was allowed to punch one of them in the face, does he think one of them won't get their face and jaw broke? Like, I'm trying to, which one of his players does he think will have a chance against someone like him, someone like Draymond Green, if they actually threw a punch and connected. They got to team up and jump him. I think the point of him he's making is he wants some of his
Starting point is 00:27:53 guys to get their ass whooped. He thinks they little soft. He said, I think some of my guys need their ass whooped. They went in by 40. Some of my guys little soft. Y'all got these light-skinned boys out here looking like he manning them. What are you talking about? They out here with this strength and this strong arm and y'all.
Starting point is 00:28:12 My boys need to ass whoop. What if Greek the Freak decided to just whoop? That's what he said. He said, can somebody come in here and whoop my boy's ass? Which one of y'all? He's like the little giants. He ice boxing them. This ice boxing them.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Shout out to the ice box. You know what I'm saying? What's up? Which one of y'all is going's like the little giants. He ice boxing them. This ice boxing them. Shout out to the ice box. You know what I'm saying? What's up? Which one of y'all is going to take a girl and come over here? I just meant... How long did Rudy... When Rudy T got his ass KO'd, how many games did he miss? He ruined his career. Oh, yeah. Ruined his career. Huh. Kermit Washington. Ruined his career. Huh.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Kermit Washington. Kermit Washington. They said it sounded like a shotgun. Right? Sounded like a shotgun when it connected. And it ruined his career. He didn't play a game the NBA right? Fractures in his jaw, cheekbone, and eye socket required multiple surgeries. Multiple surgeries. Now that's what you
Starting point is 00:29:12 were trying to bring back in today's NBA. A dude you paid 300 something million dollars to getting his eye socket punched in over a hard foul. Really? What if every team had a designated enforcer, create an extra roster spot? To go punch on? So it was like hockey, like we get to send our enforcer out there. I'll just sign Mike Tyson. What I'm saying is.
Starting point is 00:29:36 You got to go do it. No, the problem is, I think he thinks this is like some type, like you know there's smarter people than you. Like if I'm coaching you and I got a guard you in the playoffs Hey you come up. You see that light-skinned boy. He hit another three punch him in the shit. Thanks I'm gonna attack only the star player. I don't give fuck about the rest of your team I'm gonna try to take out the Luca the Kyrie. I don't want nobody else. I want the people that can affect the game.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Break his jaw. This is a championship. What are you talking about? He wanted to be above the rim. This is crazy. Imagine if Shaq was allowed to hit someone. Man, it would have been a DNP. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:30:24 You hear what the coach is saying. I'm good. The coach is saying it. The players ain't. JustP. I'm good. You hear it's a coach saying it. I'm good. It's a coach saying it. Players ain't it. Players ain't it. Let coaches fight. You talk down to Darvin Hamm. Let's see what happens. Go on Darvin Hamm and tell him the same thing.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Joe's kind of aggressive. Yeah, he's aggressive. He like doing push-ups. Doc Rivers. He got Doc Rivers going to send Darvin. Yeah. I mean, you can be aggressive, but getting open-hand slapped is crazy. That's going to be a lot of that. a lot of that Oh now open hands open hand slap
Starting point is 00:30:57 You're allowed to there's no there's no there's no slapping no more you use you're telling dudes to use their Most NBA player most athletes don't know unless you're taking real Boxing tech who most don't know how to punch right when they do that They sold on the other thing most likely whatever they punch they don't hurt the hand They're shooting hand like it is just doesn't like football players like most of football players They think punching with the helmets on they they psychopaths in it So they're not really hurting each other. I don't think Joe seen when Z Bo hit Lou Lou Amundson
Starting point is 00:31:34 He almost not Lou Amundson into the multiverse. Mm-hmm Bro, you don't wanna because what you're doing is you're saying to the tough guys who like to talk shit Yeah, I now can back up my shit talking to your star player. And what was that you was just saying? Shut your bitch ass up. What's up? Are you with it? Are you with it?
Starting point is 00:31:55 What's up? You with it? And then I get to actually smack the shit out you after saying that? And I'm talking to your star player, Steph, man. I slapped the shit out you. What's up? Who do you think they're going to pick on? I'm picking to your star player, Steph. Man, I slapped the shit out you. What's up? Who do you think they're going to pick on? I'm picking on all of them.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Who do you think they're going to pick on? I'm slapping the shit out you right now. What, is it going to be a $500 fine? Right there in front of the ref. Wow. One game suspended. No, you're talking about let's fight. So if you're talking about let's fight, there can't be no suspension.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Because that means if I'm fighting with your suspension now, you're taking 180 seconds of my check. So that means you're going to put a flat-out, regular-ass fine. $500.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Man. There's no game. Come on, man. Dylan Brooks is... There ain't no game. He's beating people up, man. He's fighting, for real. Draymond beating everybody.
Starting point is 00:32:41 He's trying to beat everybody up. I say try. What you mean? Two texts. Two texts cost me, what, $10,000, $20,000. He trying to beat everybody up. I say try. What you mean? Two texts. Two texts cost me what? $10,000, $20,000. One punch cost me $500.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Stop it. I don't need no more texts. I can just punch. I just punch. I got $10,000 worth of punch. Come on, man. $10,000 worth of punch? I got $10,000 worth of punch.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Are you on the free throw line asking for fades? I'm just asking. I just want the fade. What's happening? Which one of y'all? Say something. Cross me over one more time. One more time. One more time. I'm just asking Over one more time one more time. I got you trying to change the box. What's happened? You're talking about I guarantee you you put in fighting again you D is coming out of retirement
Starting point is 00:33:26 Well, there's a whole bunch of people. I'm to slap what we're coming out we get to slap now baddies They turn it into bad Baddies so Brandon would you check pointed out? They say in where we were talking about your slapping Rambo relax I'm just like, you know, those are sides of it like I'm just letting you know the chat said I didn't I didn't hear it But one person in favor of Missoula's idea is Rocket Center's Stephen Adams, who left this comment under one of the posts about this story. He said, quote, $20, I'll punch Rudy Gobert square in the nose. For no reason.
Starting point is 00:33:58 On his story, Adams shared that the comment was flagged and removed from Instagram as well. So what players would fare the best in a world where fighting was allowed in the NBA? True. Steven Adams, you were No, like he said, though. Like a lot of star players.
Starting point is 00:34:11 Like your star player would be in here. For $20. $20. Steve Adams is going to be a problem. You're going to have to worry about him.
Starting point is 00:34:18 You're going to have to worry about Stewart. You're going to have to worry about Draymond Green. You're going to have to worry about... Russell Westbrook. He'll get mad. Russell Westbrook. James Johnson. See, you don going to have to worry about Draymond Green. You're going to have to worry about... Russell Westbrook. He'll get mad.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Russell Westbrook. James Johnson. See, you don't want that problem. Shit, James Johnson. Brown. Shit, Luka. No, not Luka, but Joker. You got Embiid.
Starting point is 00:34:36 You got Giannis over there now. The Nats is handling offense. Hey, hey. What? Oh, man. Somebody getting hurt. Eden. Eden, for sure. Somebody getting hurt. Eden, Eden for sure. Somebody getting knocked out.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Now, you see who commented? Like, think about the Draymond Green, knowing he can't get suspended. Think about the stuff he's been doing. Now they actually, now he gets to really throw these elbows, choke people for real. I ain't going to lie. I think KD going to smack this shit out of a lot of people if they listen to this. I think KD gonna smack this shit out a lot of people Talking crazy man KD he slapped his shit out you from long distance
Starting point is 00:35:25 We already saw when we got tested when be toimby, too. Y'all better leave that out. Joe, chill. Go to UFC class. Go do some jiu-jitsu or something, bro. Get that shit out to his sister. Go watch the town. Try to get everybody hurt because he bored. I do like Missoula, though. I like his mentality.
Starting point is 00:35:39 I mean, I like the mentality. He just can't bring this in. There's a reason, man. Players are getting too strong, man, throwing real hard punches, man. The game is just in. Because all it takes is, I mean, it takes one hit to hurt that player, one mishit to hurt yourself. Would that help right the, you know, they say nowadays the league is soft.
Starting point is 00:36:05 No. You got to toughen up. No they say nowadays the league is soft. No. Make them tell you got to toughen up. No, man, the league is good. It's more scoring. Play defense. I didn't know fighting toughens. In a sense, it can. Hmm?
Starting point is 00:36:18 If you're not afraid to get your ass whooped. I mean, you can push. Just bring back Chris. Somebody going to lose in the ass whooping, so it's like if you're not afraid to get your ass whoop you like fighting. It's cool It's not bad. I'm gonna tell you I'm just be honest with Sean man I'm gonna just be honest If it ain't white, I'm not talking to it You're not going... I'm not talking to anybody.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Jimmy Butler. Jimmy Butler, no thank you. I'm not talking to anybody that look like they got aggression. Right. Oh, no, no, no. What's up there? Shepard, what's happening? Heard you got problems with Shepard.
Starting point is 00:37:01 What's up, Shepard? Heard you got these problems, Shep. I'm talking... Yeah, I'm going to talk crazy to the other people who don't want to fight. Facts. Watanabe. Yeah, bro. What's up? What's up?
Starting point is 00:37:13 Heard you was talking. What'd you say about my mama? You know what? Maybe not Watanabe. You know some shit. I ain't. I'm not talking to. You know some shit.
Starting point is 00:37:21 I ain't tripping. I'm not talking. I might say some shit to Clay, depending on how he, depending on his mood that day. You know, he look like he a snap. Maybe. Right? Austin Reed's for sure. Austin Reed's for sure.
Starting point is 00:37:31 I'm saying something. Connect. I'm going to say something to connect. They got daddies that are officers. I'm not messing with the FBI, CIA. I'll say something to Bronny. You say something to Bronny? Hell yeah. Say something to Bronny, girl'll say something to Bronny? Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Say something to Bronny, girl. You're gonna find out what's up. For sure. You're gonna find out what's up. No, he just, he's a rookie. He ain't gonna really not. I'll say something for sure. He sweet.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Bronny got hands. What you gonna do? Shut up. Like, Gabe, I'm gonna stay away from him. I seen him in the playoffs when he was in Miami. He was a little feisty. Oh, he was a little feistier than he's supposed to be. Like, he could take punches for no damn reason.
Starting point is 00:38:05 Take punches? He looked like he could take a lot of punches. I'm cool. Cat, I'm saying something to Cat. You saying something to Cat? I would. I'll say something to Cat, depending on his reaction, you know what I mean? He's seven foot now.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Seven foot, big. I'm a trippy. What if he kick you with the big ass feet? I'm a trippy with the big ass feet. He goofy. What if he kick you? a big ass feet? I'm a trippy, goofy, goofy, goofy, goofy, goofy. What if he kick you? That's all of 25. He look like he know that.
Starting point is 00:38:29 He be walking on his toes. You see? We going to see that coming. Brandon. Slap him up. Ah, yeah. So we asked the chat, should the NBA bring back fighting? 52% said yes, 48% said no.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Got some interesting people in the chat right now, but let's keep this thing moving. The Mavs and Wolves met in Minnesota on Tuesday night for the first time since the Western Conference Finals. And despite a hot start from Ant-Man, it was deja vu all over again as Dallas made an early statement and put the rest of the West on notice. So like I said, Ant-Man came out firing in the first quarter
Starting point is 00:39:05 with 24 of the Wolves' 34 points in the period. Set a target center record. So Edwards finished the game with 37 points, joined Steph Curry. He's the only player in NBA history with five or more threes in four straight games to start a season. Mavs were on the second night of a back-to-back, but bounced back in the second and third quarters, outscoring the Wolves 67 to 48 in those 24 minutes
Starting point is 00:39:25 Kyrie went to work in the second half scoring 16 of a 35 points in the third quarter to help give the Mavs an 11 point lead heading into the fourth. Let's just watch Kyrie cook for a second really appreciate everything. He's got going on over there. Oh Oh you see the look I'm getting witty Then we became on the show gillsills Arena alum, Spencer Dinwiddie. Dance with him, Kai. Woo! Oh, look at it. Look at it.
Starting point is 00:39:54 That's tough. Luka. Oh. Luka picked up in the fourth. You know how good you guys are. But two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Oh, my God. Come here.
Starting point is 00:40:03 The Mavs are up two. Kyrie knocked down a three to extend the lead. So, after a slow start to the game, Luka got to work in the final period, scoring nine of his 24 points. I'm not going to say it. Missed his first seven three-point attempt. I'm not going to say it. But with the Mavs up five with a little over a minute remaining, Luka hit a 32-footer in the kill and examined Walker's grill. Can you go back to that play real quick?
Starting point is 00:40:19 Damn. He's not going to say what he's saying. It's the Luka play. It's the Luka play at the end. You see how he said, look my new hand. Hold on. We're going keep going keep going keep going if you go all the way to say hold on. Okay now Stop right. Why won't they trap that trap? Clay it don't matter. He ain't looking he said said, just get out his hands. Seven seconds. You got to trap him late. You can't trap him right here.
Starting point is 00:40:48 No, I'm trapped. It's seven seconds. Rotation is, you know... You got two. It's tough. Yeah, you could trap it. Just because he at the half-court line. And Rudy's right there, though. So if he jump pass, he can't retreat.
Starting point is 00:41:03 No, no, no. What I'm saying is if he traps him right here, when Klay rolled, where's he rolling to? Klay is flaring. No, yeah. Where's he flaring to? Look who came up for no reason.
Starting point is 00:41:12 He's supposed to set the flare. That's what Washington said for... Yeah, he messes up the play. Yeah. Because he brings a defender, so that defender can just say,
Starting point is 00:41:22 all right, I'm going to go with the flare. They're not anticipating a jump trap right here. Of course, that's what I'm saying. Why, at seven seconds, why don't you just jump trap this? There's no point in switching. They're supposed to.
Starting point is 00:41:33 The chat is asked repeatedly. They want to know, what was Lucas saying in that moment? It depends. I got to call HR. HR? They're just going to call you a hunt? No, no, no. You got to call HR. HR? It's just going to cost you a hundred. No, no, no. You got to get this exempt.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Can we get, because I said. Technically, you're not saying. Remember, we talked about this. Like, this was one of our talking points. This was one of the things we disagreed with. We were unclear about. What about this moment? Because it's not you saying it.
Starting point is 00:42:02 It's technically Luca saying it. And I'm just reiterating being his interpreter. You're just a vehicle. Yes's not you saying it. It's technically Luca saying it. And I'm just reiterating being his interpreter. You're just a vehicle. Yes. He's saying it in Slovenian. And I'm trying to tell y'all in Negro terms. You're just a preacher. You're not God.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Nigger! Worth a hundred. Hundred dollars well spent. So Ant-Man had a chance to make things interesting with the Wolves down four in time running out, but got stripped by Najee Marshall to seal the win for the Mavs. Like I said, Kyrie had 35, five dimes, four boards, six for eight from deep.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Luka had 24, eight, and eight, but was 10 for 27 from the field. P.J. Washington added 17 and eight. Ant-Man finished with 37, six boards, three dimes. 12 for 20 from the field, seven for 13 from deep. Julius Randle had 27 and 8. And man finished with 37, six boards, three dimes. It's 12 for 20 from the field, seven for 13 from deep. Julius Randle had 27 and 7.
Starting point is 00:42:49 So Mavs have won five of the last six games against the Wolves including the playoffs. I know it's still early, but this is all we got. We're four games in. What statement
Starting point is 00:42:58 did the Mavs make with their win over the Wolves in Minnesota? We can beat you whenever we feel like it. We can beat you whenever we feel like it. We can beat you whenever we feel like it. Even with Klay playing bad.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Klay only has seven points in the game. Two for seven from the field. I mean, he took the same shot he took last year to beat them, send them home. Same thing this year. So whenever I feel like turning on, I'm going to beat y'all. Don't matter who it is. I own y'all.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Shout out to you over there. Little don't matter who it is. I own y'all Try to see you over there little perplexed so deep up Go ahead find excuse own y'all I'm just trying to like I'm just trying to think of the concept of If you garden Luca right there with five seconds left, what is he? What do you think he's gonna do? He's not passing the ball. Like, I'm trying to figure out, as a defender, you've watched him. You've played him in the playoffs. There's four or five seconds left on the clock.
Starting point is 00:43:56 100% he's doing a step-back three. LeBron James with four, five seconds on the clock. He's going to do the same move. Ooh, shot. Do it again. How are you still? Ooh, shot. I'm trying to.
Starting point is 00:44:14 He really does look at the ball. And everybody playing defense. Gotcha. I'm trying to figure out where's the IQ at. You switch on to him. Why aren't you pushing him to the basket knowing he don't want to go there? Like, you know what shot has come in and you still fall for it? What does it say about the coaching for the Wolves?
Starting point is 00:44:40 IQ? I can't blame the coaching on this. Not only the coaching, but think about this. Who was up for that game last night for the Wolves? Who was the, like, I'm ready to beat they ass? Who was playing like that last night? Julius Randle, Ant-Man. Ant-Man.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Ant-Man, yeah, always. He need two other road dogs that's going to be out there with him, up for the game the way he was. First half. I'm letting y'all know what I'm on with them. So why he not guarding Luka then in that position? Hey, listen. He got two other guys that's supposed to do that, right?
Starting point is 00:45:14 Then he switched off. That was Ant-Man up there? That was McDaniel. No, that's what I'm saying. Ant-Man went up there guarding him. Walker. Where was Ant-Man? Ant-Man was in the corner.
Starting point is 00:45:24 In the corner. He was in the corner guarding Kyrie. Yeah. Kyrie got the 35. But the difference is, it's like the whole game. Look, the game. You can't stop Kyrie either. But Kyrie not getting the ball at that time, though.
Starting point is 00:45:38 If the game ended the same way, right? The same way as it did last year with Luka winning at the end. That means that Dallas is not the ones that's still in control. It's just that the Timberwolves can't figure out how to get better to get over that moment. Julius Reynolds is supposed to take you over that moment, but it ain't like he held you back because y'all in the same place. Ant-Man ain't the one that's the reason. It's got to be Nas Reed. It's got to be Rudy Gobert.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Ah, man, it's got to be everybody, though. Somebody's messing something up. But I agree with him, though. Or they need to put Rob Dillingham in the game and muck it up. Because they ain't got no extra firepower. Like I said, it looked the same. No, we're talking about that. You're talking about possessions.
Starting point is 00:46:20 When you're talking about possessions, let's just say, man, you know, right, Kobe's going to get to that right elbow, right, he's gonna get there, he's gonna pump fake one or two times, and then he's gonna shoot that jumper, right? You know where he wants to go, which means, right,
Starting point is 00:46:40 you have to do your job to beat him to that spot to make it a little difficult. You're not going to stop a great from getting to where he wants. I know he wants to get to the right. Let me push him left to see what he's going to give me. Maybe I can cut off one or two seconds making him go this way to get back this way. I did a better job.
Starting point is 00:47:01 But you're still trying to let him. He's still doing his playback. Fake this way, boom. Go that way, step back. It's the same combo. Boom, boom, boom. It's the same combo and you're just watching it the whole time. It's just
Starting point is 00:47:17 weird. He's too great. He's too great to show him the same thing. Like, I don't. Some people be amazed. Huh? People be amazed.
Starting point is 00:47:30 Days in the moment. Like, LeBron do this. Jump. Soon as you do this, jump. Just jump. Because, you know, this comes this. Don't freeze right here. Soon as you do this, just jump in the air. See what he do. He might pump fake. Pump fake, fuck it up.
Starting point is 00:47:47 If you really playing defense on the body, right? I'm really guarding you. I'm in front of you. You would never even do that move. You would never do the LeBron move if I'm guarding you and I'm really guarding you. I'm in your grill. You can't do that. You can't do none of them. Even the Luka Luca move He has to bring the ball back and come at me because I'm right here. I'm in your grill Mm-hmm. I'm on your hip like you can't just get into your back high Kai is probably the best guy to get low and get into his bag But the moment you let him put it on the ground and feel comfortable He's gonna switch you he's gonna shift you but you make him go one way. I'm sitting on feel comfortable. He's going to switch you. He's going to shift you.
Starting point is 00:48:26 But you make him go one way. I'm sitting on his hip. You're going there. You're going there. And then, as a rover, what I love to do as a rover is just blitz randomly. I'm going to just go blitz him. Let's go blitz him. He don't know I'm coming from the trap.
Starting point is 00:48:40 But we're about to blitz him. Like that right there. Like he's proven. He's proven to you. He's proven in the playoffs. You don't want him. I want to blitz him. Like, that right there. Like, he's proven. He's proven to you. Yes. He's proven in the playoffs that you switch, it's over. It's over. No matter who switched on to him, he embarrassed you. Why won't you try in this game to blitz it?
Starting point is 00:48:58 See what he does. Because does that mean no star player wants to pass the ball in that position? Not in that position. We all know that. That's why I say you've got to blitz him. Blitz him. Let him throw it back to Klay. Let Klay try to figure out what player wants to pass the ball in that position? Not in that position. We all know that. That's why I say you got to blitz it. Let him throw it back to Klay. Let Klay try to figure out what he wants to do. You're not going to be the Klay two for seven in the game. You'd rather have Klay take that shot.
Starting point is 00:49:12 No, I want them to finish their play because P.J. Washington is pushing up, right? Now that means him and Klay is going to have some. Now you got one guy guarding two. So that means that you. Now if he tried to throw the flare, I go with the flare, whoever, like they throw the flare,
Starting point is 00:49:29 now you can get back to Klay easy because the ball has to go that way. Like there's, there's options there only because P.J. Washington came over. Now if P.J. Washington stayed all the way in the corner and you trapped,
Starting point is 00:49:40 now Klay's by himself, now you got a problem. But P.J. Washington was right there for that guy to play defense on on two players well i like the play it's only it's only at that point five six seconds left i like that play though right that play forces them to do what they did you can't trap it no they should have trapped it but they but they didn't because lucas coming off right if you trap it you and if he turns the corner on the trap, you're dead. If he turned the corner.
Starting point is 00:50:08 You're triple dead. But the way it was, he's not turning the corner. Yeah, he has space. Play it back. He's not trying to turn it, but that's what I'm saying. They're not even up. They're up to switch and not up to trap. Now, if Luka turns the corner, there's a problem.
Starting point is 00:50:21 That's what I'm saying. See how high it is? That's why it's a problem even making the call to trap that high up because he can split it he can split the trap he can go around the trap either way what you're giving up now is backside clay and pj two on one with me wide open so i would rather take my chances on the switch because now he ain't thinking about running the play they just drew up it ain't no p. screen for Klay no more. It's me getting what I wanted.
Starting point is 00:50:49 I wanted them to switch. Thank you. But doesn't he want you? I think that's a good play for them because now you have to make a decision. The reason it's a bad play for them, if that was the case, the problem is, think about it. Like, if P.J. stays in the corner and Klay is setting the screen and he pops, I literally, I'm guarding P.J., I have to now run to Klay for you to throw a wide open pass that's uncontested.
Starting point is 00:51:19 Right? The fact that this P.J.'s coming here, I'm just going to sit with here and wherever the ball goes, I can go defend. Right? So if it starts going over to Klay, I can go with Klay. He's going to obviously backdoor. Big man has to figure it out. What are they looking for in that particular play?
Starting point is 00:51:34 They're looking for a PJ slip. That's what I'm saying. PJ slip. They ain't looking for the Klay. Klay the decoy. Which is why when you see that play happening and they switch it, he don't look for Klay because the real play is for the switch now, right? Yeah, imagine if what what scenario
Starting point is 00:51:51 Happens where they actually run that play for clay dude on the weak side. Do you care if PJ slipping? No, if you're two Timberwolves. Yeah. Yeah, you want them to sleep, right? Yeah, because you had to rotate number I'm saying you won't people PJ gonna do it. I'd rather have PJ with the ball. I'd rather have PJ. Then you get clay wide open. No, no if PJ's No, go back. Go back. You're going for the he following him to the flare PJ slips PJ gets it That now that flare guy has to now come get PJ. Yeah, I'm gonna go I'm gonna guard. No, no, no No, we you just let Pete you stay with clay. You don't go to the worst shooter I'm gonna stay with the brush and Now PJ has to make a move. But it's a two. It's a closer two. You have rotation.
Starting point is 00:52:28 Your rotation is now, you have to rotate to that guy. Can you go back to the play? No, I wouldn't. I'd rather PJ with the ball and have a two than that. But we don't need a three. But that's what you got. Yeah, because, you know, y'all played it the way y'all played it. But think about it. If they get a two or three, it's still good for them. We're queuing to play.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Give us one second. Keep rolling. Keep rolling. Keep going. Keep going. Oh. Give us one second. So after this, boop. Right, okay. Go back, go to the top of this.
Starting point is 00:53:08 All right, so Jewel Randall is guarding. Okay, right here, right here, right just over here. Uh-huh. So at this point, Clay is supposed to be there. Just slow it, just fast forward a little bit, just- Frame by frame. Frame by frame. All right, so-
Starting point is 00:53:23 Trap that right there. Right. So what's the name is that that's mcdaniel's and um alice uh walker right uh-huh so mcdaniel's supposed to fight over top of that but uh walker says switch right so now if they trap like remember clay is going for a flare so if they trap him who is he actually going to throw the ball to pj okay the only one he really is because he because clay is going to have his back to him from there. Yes. So you're not guarding Klay at this point.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Right. No. Right? Right. So now keep going frame by frame. Now, let's say you follow Klay. Right? He ain't even looking anyway.
Starting point is 00:53:57 But PJ runs down. Now, PJ is the one. Stop right there. Stop right there. Now, let's just say they trapped it in. Like, look. Klay, look where Klay and PJ is. They might get a steal.
Starting point is 00:54:07 But look how Lucas turned in the corner, like I'm saying. No, no, what I'm saying is if he passed it to PJ, right, remove everybody, PJ has the ball. He's going to drive. Now, it's between PJ and Lively on a two and one. I'm cool with that. But you remember, you got Randall right there is the rotating guy. No, what I'm saying is if Clay would have just flew off and he went with Clay
Starting point is 00:54:29 and PJ slipped by himself. Now you have PJ making the decision on the two on one between him and Lyle. Are you saying McDaniels is following Clay or are you saying he's trapping? He trapped. Okay, McDaniels trapped Clay Flares. Clay Flares and Randall stays with Clay. Randall stays with Clay? Yeah. So that would, yeah, saying he's trapping he trapped okay mcdaniel's trapped so play players play players and randall
Starting point is 00:54:46 stays with randall stays with clay yeah so that would yeah definitely leave um washington wide open now now he has to make the play we're living with that remember look at the score that's what i'm saying really you're needing a stop right here you guys need to stop we're not in desperation with what we need right now. We can actually miss this play and still win the game. So the desperation comes with y'all defensive scheme right here with the Timberwolves. You got to play it right
Starting point is 00:55:13 to make the most difficult play. Giving it to PJ is not the most difficult play. That's the easiest play for him to make. He can make a free throw line jumper. That's fine. That's not y''s five seconds left. We'll take that. That's not y'all getting a stopper. Bro, we're not going to get a stopper.
Starting point is 00:55:29 It's five seconds for Luka Doncic. Okay, cool. But now, I'll take the two. How much did they lose by? Four. No, what I'm saying is I'll take the two, then the three. And who's to say he's going to make that shot? But what I'm saying is I'll take the two, then the three. And who's to say he going to make that shot? But what I'm saying is... But it's a non-contested shot. It's no defense on him.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Bro, even if he traps, Randolph can guard both of them. But if he doesn't trap, what happens is right now. What happens is right now. But what didn't happen is Walker didn't put no pressure on this man and make no move. He gave him space. He shot it in his grill. Okay, well, I'm taking my chances with PJ. Worst case scenario,
Starting point is 00:56:10 he gets two. In this position, in this same play, they got a three. So when we're coming down and we will only be down three when... If you trap it, it's five seconds on the clock. He has it in his hands. If he traps it, it's a turnover. I think it's going to be a turnover, or they're going to get a steal.
Starting point is 00:56:26 He got his head down. He don't even see the other. He got his head down. Them dudes are 6'8". What I'm saying is Ant-Man had a chance to do what? So they were down four. Down four, but they will only be down three. They might get a steal on this.
Starting point is 00:56:41 No, what I'm saying is if you don't take, if you, he hits a three here. If you trap it and they give it to P.J., P., PJ goes in and hit a jumper free throw, that's only two. They're not down four. They would have been down three. They're down three in theory. They're down three in theory. They still lose. No.
Starting point is 00:56:59 I don't have to force a three. I can go in for a layup, make it a two-point game, foul, and play that style. I like my chance. I like my on for a layup, make it a two-point game, foul, and play that style. I like my chance. I like my chance. What I'm saying is if I make a layup, if I'm coming down, instead of four points, I'm only down three. I make a layup, I'm down one. Now we can play the foul game, and hopefully they miss one. And then, shit, we know with Lucas' free throw percentage, he going to fuck off one or two.
Starting point is 00:57:20 I would rather live, I would live if I'm the Timberwolves in this situation and y'all saying trap. If they actually trapping and the thing I got to live with, which I know the scenario y'all are giving, which is Randall going to Klay, now is realistic. He's going to go to P.J. Klay's going to have that wide open three over there in that wing. So y'all saying I'm not going to go. He can play both.
Starting point is 00:57:40 He can play both, though. Look where P.J. is. We know what he's going to do. As a defender, he's going to go to the open guy. Everyone does it. Everyone's going to make the same mistake y'all want them to make. Cool. Everyone's going to make the same mistake, right?
Starting point is 00:57:51 So, Klay's going to be open. Let's just say. Bro, he has to do a jump pass. I get it, but he's not going to have to. Are we living with Klay open? No. Or are we living with Luka contested? No, I'm living with P.J. open.
Starting point is 00:58:02 I'm living with P.J. First of all, he's coming off jump passing. That's not going to be the thing that's actually going to happen. No, I'm going to... It's a possibility. Why do we stunt and rotate, right? It's a possibility. It's like when you got Ray Allen in the corner and they pass to this guy, you stunt and stay with Ray.
Starting point is 00:58:14 I'm not leaving Ray open. We're trying to get a stop. It don't matter that it's a three. We're trying to get the easiest two. So he's going to rotate to PJ because he's slipping. But I want... I got to take this guy. I got to take the slip guy.
Starting point is 00:58:24 I got to. He has no choice. I gotta take this guy. I gotta take the slip guy. I got to. He has no choice. I'm not leaving. I don't have to take the slip guy because Rudy go birds down there. Let him figure it out. But Rudy not really there. Look where we at. Rudy is there. He's not there, bro.
Starting point is 00:58:39 And if Rudy comes up at all, what happens? All PJ gonna do is try to do this. If Rudy comes up, what happens if Rudy comes up? all, what happens? All PJ going to do is try to do this. Rudy comes up. If Rudy comes up, what happens if Rudy comes up? Throw the lob. Right here. He gives it to the lob, but he has it dunked. That's the two points. But what I'm saying is I want him making the play, not Luger or Kyrie.
Starting point is 00:58:56 I want the third or fourth option. Shit, at this point, he's the fourth option on the team. I want the fourth option making the play, not the first. This is the reason why they have clay is because now that the situation the decision you got to make as a defense is when washington and and luca and uh clay's doing that action that they're doing right now who you gonna stay with who you gonna switch on you can't double luca with them two up there yes i do i'm giving do you gonna give up? I want to give up Wanna give up some won't you just lay down just back up and lay down every time you don't gotta double this with the team
Starting point is 00:59:35 And really okay. You just gonna give it up. All right, let's play this lay down. Let me shoot it Let's play the Lakers you have a chance to double Kobe Bryant at the top and the ball goes a Lamar Odom and Lamar Odom has to make a play or There's no other or your lips or we live with this what we just living with Kobe shooting the dough over a double team Yeah, I'm going with Lamar You what we want Lamar shooting, right? I know he's gonna make a play Okay, would you rather him make a play or would you rather you shooting over two people?
Starting point is 01:00:05 Yeah. I'd rather Lamar make the play. As a defense, yes, I want Lamar making the play. I don't want, he's this man. But Lamar's a playmaker. You picking the wrong guy to pick. I'm like, I would love Lamar to make, I know he's going to make the right play. Now, how about the third option?
Starting point is 01:00:17 Wait, Hobie. If you're saying like meta. Ron Artest. No. Shoot it, Hobie. Wouldn't PJ be for him? No, he would be Lamar for sure. He can make that play. No. Shoot it, Kobe. Wouldn't P.J. be for him? No, he would be Lamar for sure. He can make that play.
Starting point is 01:00:28 That's why they put him in there. Lamar would be the third option. Lamar would be the third option on the Lakers. So P.J.'s the fourth option. P.J.'s the fourth option, so you got to give it to the fourth option. All right, okay, so who was the third option on the Lakers then? Who are we talking about? You had Kobe, Paul, and...
Starting point is 01:00:43 Paul Gasol. And Lamar. Lamar Odom. Derek Fisher Paul, and Lamar Odom. Derek Fisher. Lamar Odom. You got Metal World Peace. But what I'm saying is, would you rather, I would rather, as a defense, I would rather Metal World Peace
Starting point is 01:00:57 make a play and we like, okay, cool, versus Kobe shooting over two. Once Kobe jumps, it's like, oh shit. Bynum. It was Bynum was... Yeah. Bynum's not... Lamar was the fourth option. Bynum was... Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Bynum was the third option. Was it? No. For sure. Yeah, I knew I was right. Lamar was got six men on the team. I knew I was right. Lamar was six men right. Because he was six men.
Starting point is 01:01:16 He's the fourth option. He had three killers in there. The three-headed monster was starting. Oh, bro. Yeah, I knew I had it right. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not going to option like that. I mean, he was big, but... Whoa. I'm not going to option like that. I mean, he was big, but whoa.
Starting point is 01:01:27 I'm just going to, I mean, I just don't. Well, relax. I'm just saying that Luca has proven what he is, what he can do. So at that point, like, why are you still playing this man the same way? We talked about this last time. We talked about this. No, no, here we go. All right, we do a pick and roll, right?
Starting point is 01:01:48 And they didn't really have many shooters, right? So you're doing a pick and roll, and Trevor Ariza is catching the ball to make that play. So you're talking about the non-meta team then? Yeah, this is the first championship. Okay. So we do the first championship, Trevor Ariza. Do you want Trevor Ari reason as a defense?
Starting point is 01:02:06 Would you rather have Trevor reason making the play that Trevor or we talk about any way here? Yes Yeah, you want him to do it? That's what I know I'm saying as a player on my team if I'm on Trevor's I want to ever doing that cuz I know he can handle it Cool. That's how Trevor was playing. Well, cool. You got here thought him he got it cool. At that time, Trevor was playing well enough to be the guy to throw it to him. He got it. Cool, but that's defense. I would rather him make a play to y'all than have Kobe do Kobe. Why do I want Kobe doing Kobe?
Starting point is 01:02:32 He's Kobe. We've seen 81, 63 hit every game, winning the world. Why would I want him to do that? This is a high probability. I would rather take my chances with you with a pressure that you've never
Starting point is 01:02:47 had before. Make a play. Please try it. If you make it, congratulations, sir, but I'm not going to let Kobe do Kobe. I'm not going to let Luka do Luka. I'm going to take my chances. Luka does Luka. I'm not going to let Shea do Shea. Steph Curry got the ball at the
Starting point is 01:03:04 top. I don't want him shoot. We want Please do what you do Draymond shoot a three I talked about this last when they played them in the playoffs We talked about this position with the root. Yeah, I was like man got a trap that I'm like, you know I say I said if I'm the Mavericks, I'm gonna run the play like this with PJ Where PJ is Listen because if you trap you gonna steal pay. Oh my god, so go steal. Hey like that No, no, I'm not first of all, we don't know that you do know that easier shot. We don't we don't know that It's a you don't know that. It's an easier shot. We don't know that. It's an easier shot.
Starting point is 01:03:46 Think about it. How far back was that? That was a 40-footer? That was a 40-footer, right? Are you telling me you would rather live with a 40-foot contested jumper than a 15-foot
Starting point is 01:04:01 non-contested jumper? It depends on who it is. If that's Dane L. Non-contestant jump. It depends on who it is. If that's Dave Lillard, please give that shit to Bobby Moore or somebody else. No, we're saying we would rather live with the fourth option making a play than him shooting a 40-footer. His 40-footer is proven. That's a fact. That's what I'm saying. If it's Kyrie, their shooting ability has been proven through history.
Starting point is 01:04:25 You're not living with Kyrie. I don't want to live with that no more. You can't. I don't want to live with it. You know why you got to live with it? I don't want to live with Dane. Because anything you do otherwise than live with this, you still going to live with it. You're still going to be a dagger.
Starting point is 01:04:38 I'd rather live with it. It's just not going to be for me. No, you're not. It's going to be a present from the homie. The homie got you. I want the homie to get me. The homie got you. Cool. I understand you don't like it coming from me. No, I'm just... But look, you're going to be from me. No, you're not. It's going to be a present from the homie. The homie got you. I want the homie to get me. The homie got you. Cool.
Starting point is 01:04:45 I understand you don't like it coming from me. No, I'm... But look, you're going to get it anyway. But I want to see the homie do it. You're going to get it. Because you've never... You've never let the homie do it, so I want to see it.
Starting point is 01:04:54 PJ Washington is not making that shot. But he learning from me. Even if he... He learning from me. This is my homie. I taught him how to deliver. No, I hear that. Go to the house, knock on the door and say...
Starting point is 01:05:04 Nah, nah, it don't work like that. It don't work like that. Nah, you know. Nah, I hear that. Go to the house, knock on the door and say, Nah, it don't work like that. It don't work like that. That's cap. We here to deliver to drop this off. You say Amazon, though. You hear me? Luka teaching them over there. You got it. What I'm saying is this is a team you might do in a
Starting point is 01:05:19 playoff. They showed you what they're doing. You got to try to figure them out. Right now, you cannot beat them switching on the Luka. It's not affecting him whatsoever. Yeah, it can. It can't, man. Whatsoever. You done tried to throw everybody.
Starting point is 01:05:33 It's because he made a few. I mean, he made a few. What happens when he misses them? What happens when he misses them? I don't know. He ain't shown that yet. He ain't done it yet. What happens when he misses?
Starting point is 01:05:43 What is it? If he go two for two and then he go 0 for 8, he don't go for 0 for 8. He ain't done it yet. He ain't done it yet. He went to the finals doing the same. What happens when he bids? What is it? If he go two for two and then he go 0 for eight, he don't go for eight. We don't know. He don't do it. We're not forcing him. We do know. We're not forcing him to shoot eight more times.
Starting point is 01:05:54 We do know. We're not forcing him to shoot eight more times. We do know. He's going to. It's proven. Yeah, he started out hot, man. But y'all going to stop? What do you mean?
Starting point is 01:06:02 He started out hot. He three for three. Three for three? He played eight. How Three for three. Three for three? Three. He played it. How many games he played last year? Are you going to sub out? Dude go three for three on you, you going to sub out? Or you going to say, Coach, man, let me get at least four
Starting point is 01:06:13 more possessions? Hey, Coach, let him get four more possessions. He get four more. Four more. Give me four more. Come on, man. Give me four more buckets. We cool.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Give me four more buckets. Rudy was on them one time, and Daniel was on them one time. Ant-Man like, hey, coach, it's my turn next. Let him go to all of us. At what point? I bet he missed against me. What? What point? I bet he missed against me, though. They probably wouldn't even be in that position. I bet he missed against me. Matter of fact, when he missed against me, coach, I got him now. OK. I got him now. Good.
Starting point is 01:06:45 Because he missed against me. Good. What point? Ant-Man just needs to step up and say, let me get him. All right. Well, he's busy. Let me get him. Tell him.
Starting point is 01:06:51 Tell him. Move. Let me get him. He's busy trying to stop Kyrie. I get that. When Paolo was scoring 50, you know, he was scoring 50, how many people said, Coach, give me three more plays at him? All of them?
Starting point is 01:07:04 None of them. All of them? Hey, Coach. Who he played against? Who did he get that 50. How many people said, Coach, give me three more plays at him? All of them? None of them. All of them? Hey, Coach. Who he played against? Who did he get that 50 against? Again. Again. 50's 50.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Brooklyn. It don't matter. 50's 50. There was somebody on the team just like you getting his face barbecued. Nobody. Getting his face barbecued. Huh? There was somebody like, huh?
Starting point is 01:07:24 Power forward, man. What was the score? What did Kobe do to the person who said he was somebody like, huh? Powerful. What was the score? What did Kobe do to the person who said he was a Kobe stopper? Huh? I'm the Kobe stopper. In the playoffs? He said, really? Yada, yada, yada, yada.
Starting point is 01:07:36 Every game. Huh? What did Ant man? Didn't Ant man? Didn't Ant man? He been regretting it ever since. He ain't regretting it. He been regretting it ever since. Oh, talking to Kyrie?
Starting point is 01:07:47 Uh-huh. Talking to Kyrie? Kyrie, I don't think I should have said that shit. Nah. Huh? Nah. Did he not say that? I don't think I, that was the, I don't think I should have said that.
Starting point is 01:07:56 He said 35 on that. He played him again. What'd he have last night? 35. 35. Still letting him know. Is that what it take? 35.
Starting point is 01:08:04 Is that what it takes? 35! Everybody got to talk shit in the car right there. Everybody go talk shit so he can light that up. Is that what it takes? It's hard to take any of y'all serious right now with the car. I like to say, what do you have? 35! Remember what you said last year?
Starting point is 01:08:20 Don't stop. 35! Every time I see you. 35! That's an answer word. 35, 45, 45, 45, 45. I was surprised he was... He asked for all of that shit. You still talking to me? No, no, no. You still mad at me?
Starting point is 01:08:37 He had that D-Wade look that, no, the look I had on D-Wade when, are you still taking this personal? Yeah. I thought that was just a one-game ass whooping. You're doing it every game. Every game. It's an unserious show, but a very serious basketball topic. But Mavs finished fifth in the West last season before rolling through the Clippers, Thunder, and Wolves
Starting point is 01:08:58 to reach their first finals since 2011. Does the West still run through Dallas this season? Brandon, your thoughts. What's the standings again in the West still run through Dallas this season Brandon your thoughts What's the standings again in the West I mean four games in we're gonna know man Yeah, but we do know the Mavs did yeah, I mean NBA finals last season. I mean I like the No, I mean I like that. They made a statement last night even though it was like four games five games in Yeah, that was a state because that's a team that's going to be there, you know, towards the end. So sending a message like that is big.
Starting point is 01:09:30 And just so you guys talked about Kyrie going at Ant-Man, since Ant made those comments, Mavs are 5-1, Kyrie's averaging 28, five assists, four rebounds, 45% from three. He is 4-0 in the great state of Minnesota. Yo, the Lakers look good, bro. Shit. Hmm? They just have their number right now, man.
Starting point is 01:09:51 It's... They're going to have to really look at film. This is one of those games that they have to go back and look at this film and really try to understand because this is a team that has your number no matter how good you think you are no matter how your record looks in the regular season if you match up with Dallas you are not going to feel comfortable with that matchup right so you know this is one of those those teams that you gotta look that y'all might match up so you need to figure out something the The next three games in regular season,
Starting point is 01:10:26 you're going to have to throw something at them to see if it works so you can use it in the playoffs. Like, that's one of the... It rarely don't happen during regular season. This is one of those games. They figured out a way to win consistently against you no matter how great you're playing. That's fair. So, Gil, good how many games will take the Lakers to beat the Mavs this year in the Western Conference Finals the mass
Starting point is 01:10:52 For one, okay Five is reasonable. Oh easy work. Well, I get near five is really what's the kind of finals? I get five is really you just said you just go to flow Just say 5-5 is reasonable. You just said. Just go with the flow. You a Lakers fan now. You just said. Go with the flow. You just said. It's not even all-star breaking. Whatever. You just said Lakers is looking real good.
Starting point is 01:11:10 You just said that. He can even say anything right now. Like, how is he even forming his lips to even say watch? Don't just say little clock or something. The books are cooked, boy. Oh, we were going to talk about. You're not supposed to be talking about nothing right now. We were going to talk about Milwaukee a little bit. You hear me? You should not. They done shut all the airports down for cooked, boy. You're not supposed to be talking about nothing right now. We were going to talk about Milwaukee a little bit.
Starting point is 01:11:26 You hear me? They done shut all the airports down for you, boy. You can't even enter the city. You and Canyon had a bet. Whoever had a worst year. Talking about? The Bucks and Sixers. Talking on somebody else's team.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Let's pay for Noble. Y'all might be splitting that check, Brandon. Y'all might be splitting that check. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. You don't even give him no hope like that. The only reason the Snippy Sixers is in the position, they two star players is not playing. He got his whole team.
Starting point is 01:11:50 He got his stars. He also has Dye Rivers and Darvin Hand, but let's keep this moving. All week, we are in the spirit of Halloween on Gills Arena, really all month since we've come back. And that concludes with the gills arena halloween special this thursday at 11 30 a.m pacific shit don't meet us there beat us there you already know what it is all of our los angeles based cast will be here in costume celebrating the momentous occasions if you watched our halloween special last year just know that
Starting point is 01:12:22 this year will be twice as dope. What do you want to show? We'll see you tomorrow here on Gil's Arena, presented by Underdog, for our Halloween special, Spooky and Kooky. So, yesterday we played a game of trick or treat on the couch to celebrate spooky season. Today we are playing a game of truth or dare on the arena. Folks on the couch will ask each other a truth or dare question. If they refuse to comply or answer, they will have to eat one of these delicious mystery snacks in front of us. I'm just saying. I'm just a host.
Starting point is 01:13:02 Are you supposed to ask each other or are you supposed to ask? No, you guys are supposed to ask each other, but we'll get into that. You didn't give us a contract. This is part of the contract. You can ask each other whatever you want. I don't know what to ask you. You just got to be good with everything. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:17 What's in this some Fear Factor shit? Is this Fear Factor ass? I don't know what to ask. Y'all can ask each other whatever you want. We got to come up with the questions, too? Yeah. So, whoever you ask, you don't get to ask them back. So, it's not like a revenge type thing.
Starting point is 01:13:32 Yeah, no revenge. No, this is not cool. I'm taking mine from the chat. Chat, what you want me to ask? We'll pay it forward. They need to come at the end of the segment so that everyone... Who's the white? Oh, never mind.
Starting point is 01:13:42 We're going to the chat. So, the producer predetermined this order. Gil will ask Rashad a question. Rashad will then ask Brandon a question. And Brandon will get to ask Gil a question. So let's start here, Gil. Go ahead and ask Rashad the magic question. Chad, Gil will be asking Rashad a question.
Starting point is 01:13:59 I'm asking. Come on, give me a question to ask, man. Give us questions, man. Give me a question to ask. Truth or dare first, then. So it's truth or dare? Yeah. All right, give us questions, man. Give me a question to ask. Truth or dare first, then? So it's truth or dare? So it's going to be truth or dare? And the dare is eating the mystery.
Starting point is 01:14:11 Y'all don't know how to ask questions? Truth. Truth. You don't know good questions coming from the chat? God, Gil. Truth. I don't know. Okay. The only one I see is...
Starting point is 01:14:50 As of right now, I haven't... It's a bunch of why, Rashad, your career failed so bad. I can tell you the truth about that, too. Rashad. Is it obvious? The truth? Damn right. It is obvious? The truth? Damn right. It is obvious.
Starting point is 01:15:08 It is obvious. Yeah. Ain't that helping? It's not helping at all. This is random. Okay, they say Rashad is a Kardashian box fire. And I said truth. You said truth.
Starting point is 01:15:34 The truth. If you don't answer, then you gotta eat. If you don't answer, you gotta eat. The mission is next. Is her box fire? Yes or no?
Starting point is 01:15:44 Oh, I don't know how that works. It's pretty warm. Truth? Truth? He did answer truth. Pretty warm. Pretty warm. All right.
Starting point is 01:15:57 It's nice and warm. Rashad, now you can ask Brandon. Truth or dare? He's talking to you. Mr big truth or dare truth truth yeah Huh. Are you afraid to get married? Ooh. No. No. So why you only,
Starting point is 01:16:36 why you pop the question? That's not part of the question. That's not part of the question. You said that wasn't part of the question. You didn't let me of the question. That's not part of the question. You said that wasn't part of the question. You didn't let me finish the question. Napkin, please. Sweat. Hold on. Technically, it was a dot, dot, dot. It was a dot, dot, dot.
Starting point is 01:16:54 It was a dot. The person was Cajun. That's just it. You did answer. It's the B-Rust sister. Let's move it forward. Mr. Beaton, go ahead and ask Gil a question. Truth or dare?
Starting point is 01:17:16 Dare. Shit. Let me go. You got to eat the mystery snack, Gil. You said dare. You said dare. Oh. No. Wait. Producer. Yeah, let me go yeah I'm sure you gotta eat the mystery snack you you said oh not no tech wait No take backs no take backs we have it on tape So yes, oh, that's not that'll look bad. You know a powder doughnut. I don't That looks like a tasty snack
Starting point is 01:17:41 Big bite Gil hey, yeah, I dare you to take three shots back to back. Nah, man. That bad? Do y'all see this shit right here? Looks like a delicious, delicious powdered donut. Gotta eat the whole thing, bro. No, I gotta eat the whole thing. No, boy, that's a dare. What if it's anthrax?
Starting point is 01:17:59 It could be. We gonna find out when you finish. We gonna find out when you finish. All right, fellas. When you finish. All right, fellas. So you don't want to take three shots? It was great doing business with y'all, man. You got to live, dog.
Starting point is 01:18:11 You got to live. Y'all know about that business. Y'all know about that business. I'll die for this shit. You got to live. Man, that's brother's shot. You got to live, Gil. Come on, man.
Starting point is 01:18:25 Fitness. You gotta eat it all. I can't tell, bitch. What is it? What's in the snack? You gotta eat it all, bro. Bucks. No diddy.
Starting point is 01:18:33 Bucks afterwards. Yeah. Pretty good. You want a moment? Yeah. Tomorrow. Huh? We're only doing one round, right?
Starting point is 01:18:41 I done took three bites. Yeah. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. Right. Fuck yeah. Tomorrow. Huh? We're only doing one round, right? That's the... I done took three bites. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:49 Ooh. It's good? Yeah. Oh, man. That's ketchup. You give the knife for ketchup? That's ketchup? It's ketchup?
Starting point is 01:18:58 Nah, hell nah. You gotta eat it. It tastes like jelly to me. Oh, my God. Nah, that ain't ketchup. I'm sorry. Nah, that ain't ketchup. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:19:06 No, that ain't ketchup. No, no, the problem is... The mayonnaise on sausages. When they said it's ketchup, it started tasting like ketchup. They did. Once they said it's ketchup, it was jelly. It was jelly at first. Technically, ketchup is a type of jelly, Gil.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Yeah, y'all failed on that one. Come on. I thought it was chalk. So I'm tasting for the chalk, and like, nah, that tastes like real... Well, wipe your pants good. Looks like, obviously, with your outfit and what you got, the substance you have on your pants right now.
Starting point is 01:19:38 You know. Like we back in the 80s. You been slashing. You been slashing. Matches the outfit, boy. You've never been on thees the outfit, boy. You never been on the slash. That's like when you go to one of them parties and come out the bathroom, you got white stuff all on you.
Starting point is 01:19:55 I've never been to one of those parties, Gil. We don't do that at church. But let's keep this moving. We talked about on the show a little bit yesterday, but Mr. B, we're waiting for you to come to the couch. We got to talk a little bit about the 4-1-4. Bucs are off to a slow start in year two of free time in the first full season with Doc Rivers as head coach. So after their loss to the Sox on Monday,
Starting point is 01:20:16 the Bucs dropped to 1-3 on the season, are now 18-22 in the Doc Rivers era in the regular season. So after the Bucs lost to the Nets Sunday, Giannis offered these thoughts on the state of the team. Right now we don't have an identity. You know, I'm saying, like, how are we going to win the game? Are we going to defend for eight minutes? Are we going to move the ball for 48 minutes?
Starting point is 01:20:40 Are we going to attack one play fast for 48 minutes? Or 36 minutes slow down in the last 12? Got to find an identity. We don't have that right now. You know, in the Philly game, we're good. In these last two games, as you said, we have to find that. We have to find ourselves. Sam, we have to find an identity.
Starting point is 01:21:00 And after losing to the Celtics, the Greek freak had this to say, saying, quote, You can put the best players together, but just knowing how to play with one another, sacrificing for one another, playing the right way, knowing where your teammates are going to be, knowing who's going to take over, who has the hot hand, that's what winning teams do. And our goal is to get there. Right now, obviously, we're not there, but I don't think we are far off. I don't care about the record. I just care about keep on building, keep on being healthy,
Starting point is 01:21:28 and get to where we want to get. So, Brandon, very early in the season, obviously, yesterday you were not here on the show. Gil said there were two teams that, despite the earliness in the season, needed to be concerned. One was the Denver Nuggets. The other was the Bucs of Milwaukee. How concerned are you about the Bucs' slow start this season?
Starting point is 01:21:48 Honestly, I mean, we didn't get better. You did not get better? No, I don't think we got better. Gary Trent, DeLon Wright, Torian Prince. And I just think, I don't think Dame and Giannis is on the same page right now. Hmm. I don't think Dame and Giannis is on the same page right now. Mm. And I don't know if they, I don't know if it's coaching. You know, I just know that it definitely, definitely,
Starting point is 01:22:13 they're definitely not in sync. It's kind of like, it's just like they're just, it's like it's convenient, what they have. Do you think it worked out at all together this summer? I didn't see anything. Wouldn't that be weird if they didn't? Like at this point in everybody's career you got a duo or a trio y'all should be in the gym together. I mean we didn't see a video or nobody else. I didn't see no picture. I didn't see like I didn't see anything. Should we all be in the gym getting in tune with
Starting point is 01:22:41 each other what we like to do. Well I mean it, it's just easy, man. When you really want to win, man, you go through great lengths to try to figure out who can be on your train. I mean, I think it's karma, too, though. I mean, the way they did Adrian Griffin, like he was like they was like, that's the last of them out and win and go do. Yeah, like that's the last time that they had any type of like, you know, like a fire in them and looking like yo just yo we got a chance to actually you know the season 30 and 13 with adrian griffin yeah so 30 what 34 34 and
Starting point is 01:23:13 13 yeah 34 and 13 so i think 32 30 maybe no 30 and 13 okay here's a really like i don't want to hear i'm sorry but what y'all talking 30? 30 and 13, second place in the East. What I'm saying is, what is going, like, I don't want to, there's no excuse. None whatsoever. Whatever excuse you have today, where was it when you was 30 and 13? Where was it? Complaining about a coach holding you accountable where was this talk of
Starting point is 01:23:47 we don't know how to play together we don't know who team it is when you was 30 and 13 now all of a sudden y'all don't know what the fuck to do come on man talk about it are we gonna what
Starting point is 01:24:03 they don't have identity how about this about it. Like, are we going to pretend? Like, what? Y'all said they don't have identity. What was, who, how about this? Let's start the season over last year and y'all go 30 and 30. What was the identity then?
Starting point is 01:24:12 Y'all said it was your team. 30 and 30, Dame was there. And you was responsible. You was there. You looked fine to me. The players was there.
Starting point is 01:24:19 Everything was going cool. Everything looked great. Yep, looked fine to me. What was the identity there? Oh, Dame wasn't getting his numbers. No, Dame was playing better than... But he wasn't getting those...
Starting point is 01:24:29 He wasn't 27, 28. Yes, he was. He was averaging 26 under Adrian. He played worse under Doc. Everything dropped under Doc. He was playing fine under Adrian. That's... I don't...
Starting point is 01:24:44 Somebody asked for him to go, so it couldn't have been fine. to Adrian. That's, I don't, I mean, they were 30 and 13. Somebody asked for him to go, so it couldn't have been fine. It couldn't have been everybody playing good. He didn't fire himself. Couldn't have been. This is,
Starting point is 01:24:56 this is, it reminds me of that, it reminds me, it reminds me of just life. What was everybody's numbers? What was everybody's numbers during that 30 and 13? They was cooking.
Starting point is 01:25:06 Somebody wasn't happy. No. Somebody wasn't happy. Somebody pulled up their numbers last year when they were 30 and 13. Somebody wasn't happy. Dame. Somebody wasn't happy. Dame was in the 25-ish range.
Starting point is 01:25:18 Giannis, what was his numbers? But they was like, weren't they number one? Two. Number two in the East. In the East? Giannis was around 30 and 11. 30 and 11, 25, 25, 4, 4, 5, something like that. What about Middleton?
Starting point is 01:25:36 Wasn't Chris Middleton hooping too? Man, it was 30 and 13, so they was cooking. They were cooking. That's why I said it. Middleton still, I think, was dealing with injuries. He wasn't playing yet. I mean, so they was cooking. They were cooking. That's what I said. Middleton still, I think, was dealing with injuries. He wasn't playing yet. I mean, just a little bit. Was that before the Grayson Allen trade?
Starting point is 01:25:52 Because they traded Grayson Allen, too. What I'm saying is it just don't make no sense of all of a sudden you get a new coach and now y'all don't have an identity. What did you get rid of the other coach for? Well, maybe it's Doc. The Doc is the identity killer. I don't know because you try to have an identity and he has a different plan for it.
Starting point is 01:26:12 Your identity is getting his corner, man. Sit over here. Maybe they're starting to realize that trade wasn't all hyped up what it was supposed to be. It wasn't. What trade? The trade for Duke. The 30 and 13. What I'm saying is you can't remove
Starting point is 01:26:28 30 and 13 that's a whatever problem What I'm saying is whatever problem you have having Today should have been in the first 43 games and it wasn't I Mean whatever you're struggling with now, identity, the offense, we ain't running smooth. Why didn't it look like that in 30 and 13?
Starting point is 01:26:53 I think they had an identity. The guys just didn't like it. Yeah. I think Adrian's identity for the team was winning, but it was ugly. It didn't look the way they wanted it to look. There but also a rift among the coach
Starting point is 01:27:07 It was nasty to the players you could see that they weren't in like the way he did it But it was it was he gave us the result. I still think the trade hurt I think y'all remember the video after Griffin was relieved of duties. It looked like the players were dancing on his grave. Yeah Yeah I don't think they like the identity he gave the team. And they like the fresh start. And now here they are and they find out the grass ain't greener on the other side. Chris Brown, sing it.
Starting point is 01:27:35 These hoes ain't looking. No. Giannis was driving in 31 and 12. 31, 12, and 5. 31, 12, and 5 in what was named? Through 35 starts. We're pulling that info. Okay.
Starting point is 01:27:46 Because it's not their 43 games. It's the Bucs. It's the Bucs. So they missed, obviously. I mean, like when people say it's only four games, it's not four games, man. Yeah, it's a carryover. It's after Adrian got fired. It's that.
Starting point is 01:28:01 It's that. And it's been that. It's been that. Right? It's been that. It's still carrying on. Might be karma, though, BJ. I mean, you know, it's the best of gods, man.
Starting point is 01:28:11 You asked for something, and you got it, and now you don't like it. Now you don't want it. Now you don't like what you... You asked for this. That's what happens sometimes with people. It's like dealing with women. You asked for something, I give you exactly what you ask for, and then you don't like it.
Starting point is 01:28:30 Damn. So Dame was averaging 25, 7 assists, 24 rebounds. 25, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds is what Dame was averaging. 40 starts in that first 43. Say it one more time for everybody that ain't here. So if you did not hear me, Dame was averaging 25. point three points per game Seven assists four point four rebounds started forty of those games and they both was an all-star
Starting point is 01:28:50 Damn, I don't know. It's cool. It's cool. No, I'm just thinking like I remember we were talking about during that time how it didn't look good The way that they were playing because the act it looked like Dame was uncomfortable, but they were still getting it done. They were still getting it done. So once they made the change, we seen Dane pop off for like, I think he had a 40-point game or something when Giannis wasn't playing. Doc came out and was like, yeah, we're finally getting...
Starting point is 01:29:17 He was like, you're just finally running plays for him the way he know how to play. You letting Dane be Dane. He can't be Dane when he get Giannis on the floor. But you taking credit for that. That's what I'm saying, but it... You can't...
Starting point is 01:29:32 You can't be that good under one coach and that's a problem for y'all. Then you make a trade... You get a new coach and you've been struggling ever since. When we looked at, okay, there's a summer, a season, this is supposed to be a 4-0 start, 3-1 at the worst, right?
Starting point is 01:29:57 Losing to Boston. Powerhouse. Right? That should be your record, right? Everybody else looks good that got their team. Except for Denver. Besides Denver. Nick's strong.
Starting point is 01:30:10 But they brung in somebody else. Nick's got a trade. You didn't get a trade. You didn't get nothing. You didn't get nothing. Lakers didn't get nothing. Boom. Right?
Starting point is 01:30:18 Boston. Minnesota got a trade. Dallas. I mean, come on. Them young boys in OK see mm-hmm like like I don't get it Yeah, like there's Well, I said I said, you know, there's a point in time where You know, I said this I said this, I said, I don't give a, I don't care how many games Doc won, it was a lose-lose situation.
Starting point is 01:30:55 The reason it was lose-lose is because the team was already second. There was really nothing, you wasn't going to play good enough to take down Boston. So all you can do is just drop or stay the same. I can't judge you, really, into the following year, this year, to see who you are. You're inheriting a team that's in second place right now. Second place. So if you stay second, I can't evaluate your talent,
Starting point is 01:31:28 but what I thought was going to happen, happened. It was going to tank. Because you was going to come in here and try to flip the script, and it was going to tank. And then now you're starting off the season. Like, I don't. What do you. I mean. You can't fire. You're in a situation where you can't fire.
Starting point is 01:31:46 You're in a situation where you can't fire him because at this point in time, you fire him. It's y'all now. See, right now, no one's looking at the organization. A lot of people are getting checks right now, Gil. I must say, it's a lot of questions. But you're firing Doc right now. The organization looks like they don't know what they're doing do you feel like the organization would look like they know what they're doing
Starting point is 01:32:08 by keeping dock with this one and three start I'm if you're the fans if you're the fans I mean it's got a ride to it she got a role with it now this big doc we got a three or forty million dollar deal if I'm not mistaken you have to roll with it you're stuck with it you it. You're stuck with it. You're stuck? I don't know. We're stuck. Are you? Yeah. You're not?
Starting point is 01:32:28 You're not stuck? What happens if they turn it around? Turn it around to do what? Be the team that they were before he got there? Yeah. That's why I said this was a... Do they have the type of team
Starting point is 01:32:43 that can be number two in the East? Yeah, they were. After 40 games. With Chris Middleton? Right now. What's up right now? No, but with Chris Middleton, you got a chance to be healthy.
Starting point is 01:32:53 He wasn't healthy last year. He wasn't? Yeah, he didn't have it. You know what I'm saying? The argument is so hard. No, but I'm saying this. Knowing that 30 and 14, Chris Middleton wasn't playing.
Starting point is 01:33:03 So I'm saying if you add Chris Middleton, I think we are better, but he's never healthy. But I'm saying if you add Chris Middleton, I think we are better, but he's never healthy. But I'm saying right now without him. So that means you should still be without him. Right now without him, can you be second in the East after 40 games? Right now without Chris Middleton. I don't think so. No.
Starting point is 01:33:19 So Middleton only, I think, missed like seven games, like six, seven games in that first 43-game window, but obviously still dealing with injury issues. You know what I mean? But throughout the season, he was still dealing with it. Then he had the missing center period of time. It just screams bad management. What if they're following the player's request?
Starting point is 01:33:38 It don't matter. What I'm saying is it don't matter. I mean, that's what y'all was saying about Giannis in the summertime when he was, like, fighting for them to make moves when Drew was still on the team. Then they moved Drew. Now we're like, okay, Giannis got what he asked for. Uh-huh. Boom.
Starting point is 01:33:57 Okay. So now here we are. Giannis, you got what you asked for. So let's talk about the past couple of years. You got to deal with this. So despite winning the chip in 2021, the Bucks fired Mike Budenhoser after back-to-back playoff disappointments. I think they got knocked out by the Celtics in the second round of 2022
Starting point is 01:34:13 and the first round upset the Heat in 2023. Of course, Giannis was hurt, and we get it. Then Buda Adrian Griffin went halfway through the last season after a 30-13 start, Naturally replacing him with Doc Rivers. Another first round. What is his record? 19 and what? 22. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:34:34 That's crazy. The Bucks are Giannis' franchise. He's their franchise player. They want to keep him happy. I'm sorry. That's crazy. That's a bad decision. I know you didn't try to run through that. He did. He ran right through it. you didn't try to run through that. He did. He ran right through it.
Starting point is 01:34:46 You didn't try to run through it. He was like, yeah, we ain't going to talk about how terrible Doc Rivers really is. No, say that again. I told you that Doc was 19 and 22. You got to stop and say it again. 19 and 22. Adrian Griffith was 30 and 13. Joe Prunty took over for a couple games and then Doc.
Starting point is 01:35:02 Okay, I want y'all to note, 19-22. So when the season goes on, we're going to evaluate this talent of 19-22, his record, to whoever's 19-22. Like, so if by, you know, game 40-something in 19 and 22. Who can that be? They got a new... Who can be 19 and 22?
Starting point is 01:35:31 Like the Hawks? You know what I mean? Like one of those teams, right? You're talking about two bona fide Hall of Famers that's averaging... Like, one can argue that he's an MVP every year true and you're talking about your record is 19 and 22 what it takes time how bad is that like what what is that fucking rank in the last half time it takes we don't have time for us to mesh so it takes distance
Starting point is 01:35:59 can someone rank that we don't have time but let's talk about the Giannis side of things Giannis franchise player this obviously has at least some say in moves that are made. You're not firing Budenhoser without running it past your franchise player. You're not trading Drew Holiday off that championship squad without running it past your franchise player. Didn't have to national squad after the Achilles injury, but now there's talk about bringing him back to the team. Obviously, who's that to appease? He can't play
Starting point is 01:36:26 this season. That's for your franchise player, but how much blame does Giannis deserve for the current state of the Bucks franchise? None. All. None. All of the blame. All of it. Fuck, I'm listening to a motherfucker who can't speak English that good.
Starting point is 01:36:42 Y'all crazy as shit. I'm just playing. But what I'm saying is a motherfucker who can't speak English that good. Y'all crazy as shit. I'm just playing. But what I'm saying is this is a business. This is not your fucking business, dog. Like, I don't give a fuck what he talking about. I'm not listening to him. He's the player. But he's the player you want to keep happy, right?
Starting point is 01:36:59 Cool. My money keeps him happy, too. Okay, but small market Milwaukee, you want him to stay there, be happy, want a chip, obviously he wants to win more. Has made comments. It still has to make sense. Made comments all throughout the last year. It still has to make sense. But do you not think the Bucs are saying, hey,
Starting point is 01:37:15 this is what we're thinking about doing. All right, we got Adrian Griffin. You cool with that? Or are you just saying, y'all figure it out, and I'm just going to show up to trade again? All right, we got a chance to get Dame. We got to trade Drew. It's definitely not his fault. I mean, if he can walk in there and tell. It's definitely his fault. If I'm a player, I can go going to show up to trade the kid. All right, we got a chance to get Dame. We got to trade Drew. I mean, it's definitely not his fault.
Starting point is 01:37:25 I mean, if he can walk in there and tell. It's definitely his fault. No, if I'm a player, I can go in there and tell management what to do. How is that my fault? It's the penalty of leadership. It's their fault for listening. Yeah, I'm not paying Giannis to make decisions for the team. I'm paying you to play basketball.
Starting point is 01:37:38 I'm paying you to make the decision. But you want to keep him happy because at any point he says, I don't want to be here anymore. I just feel like as a GM, bro, man, you got to start getting that Pat Riley type. Taking the talking chip cookies off the plate. That's when Pat Riley, them type of attitudes got to start kicking in. There's certain players that's smart enough to make sound trades, and then there's some that's just players.
Starting point is 01:38:05 Right? I mean, are we just going to be honest right here? There's something that's just... You can just play basketball very well. Are we going to hold him accountable? Cool, I know you want your cousin on the team, but this is not winning basketball right here. I'm not holding him accountable,
Starting point is 01:38:19 because I don't pay you to make decisions like this. I pay the GM, those guys. Give me what you... So why is your brother on the team? Huh? Why is your brother on the team? I don't pay you to make decisions like this. I pay the GM, those guys. Give me what you want. So if I can come in here... Why is your brother on the team? Huh? Why is your brother on the team? Because that's what I want.
Starting point is 01:38:30 I asked you a question. Because that's what I want. Because you just said, because that's what you want. Right, so... That's what I want you to do. Bring us more championships. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:38 Okay, so it's on you to bring me more championships. At the end of the day, listen, this is what... Okay, that's what you want. Did you hear what I said? I know, that's what you want. You wanted your brother. Right. Give me what I want. All right, this is what okay, that's what you want. Did you hear what I said? I know. That's what you want. You wanted your brother. Right. Give me what I want. Alright, I gave you what you wanted. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:49 I don't want to hear no more excuses about giving me what I want. I gave you money. And I gave you money too. I do. I do. I gave you your check on time. Your brother is here. And I gave you our ring. You ain't even got to dress out. And I gave you our ring in 50 years. You didn't give us nothing. Brooklyn gave us that. Man, blood, sweat, and tears. 50 years. KD gave us that. 50 years. KD gave us a championship. Man, blood, sweat, and tears. We've been waiting for you to ring in 50 years. You didn't give us nothing. Man, Blood, Sweat, and Tears. 50 years. KD gave us that.
Starting point is 01:39:05 KD gave us a championship. Man, Blood, Sweat, and Tears. We've been waiting for you to give us a championship. 50 years. Give us a real one. 50 years. They didn't get one in 50 years. I did my job.
Starting point is 01:39:14 Now, if I can go up there and talk my shit, then all right. Are you the leader or not? That's on you. Are you the leader or not? Are you the leader or not? Giannis was the first player last season to average 30 or more points on 60% field goal percentage.
Starting point is 01:39:24 Okay, cool. Can y'all find out, or not. Giannis was the first player last season to average 30 or more points on 60% field goal percent. Okay, cool. Can y'all find out in the last 41 games, where does 19 and 22 rank? I'm sorry. I can't let that go. I am very
Starting point is 01:39:42 sorry that I can't let that go. You are a Hall of Fame coach with two Hall of Fame players. Not two Hall of Fame players that's playing five minutes on their last...
Starting point is 01:39:57 It ranks 20... So Doc Rivers is ranked the 24th record since he started coaching. Win-loss percentage. Trash! Hey man, I can't play the way I want to play because the coach that I wanted is not doing the things that I want him to do. The coach that I had, I didn't like what he was doing, but we were winning.
Starting point is 01:40:31 Rashad, I'm guessing that that is a... No, don't guess. Don't assume. I'm just in my high-pitched in-house voice. Okay. From the tone of your question... Coach won't let me do what I do, but I averaged 31. I'm assuming that was Greco-Nigerian speaking English. No, it wasn't.
Starting point is 01:40:43 It wasn't Greco-Nigerian. I'm averaging 31. Yes, I'm averaging 31, and I'm assuming that was Greco-Nigerian speaking English. No, it wasn't. It wasn't Greco-Nigerian. I'm averaging 31. Yes, I'm averaging 31, and I'm making demands. No, our team is... You don't think I'm going to get criticized? The team is just not the same. You're going to get criticized, too. The team is not the same.
Starting point is 01:40:54 It don't matter. I mean, that's what I'm saying. Up your production. I do my job. Up your production, then. Do my job. Up your production, then. Do my job.
Starting point is 01:41:00 Do it better. I'm trying. Do it better. There's only so much I can do. No, it ain't. You can do more. There's five people. You want more money You can do more. There's five people. You want more money, don't you?
Starting point is 01:41:06 There's five people. You want your brother on the team, don't you? Yeah, he should be here. All right. Give me 35. That's why we won in three. Give me 35. That's why we won in three because he ain't on the bench.
Starting point is 01:41:13 That's why we won in three because he ain't on the bench. How about that? We ain't for the old bro-man shit. Man, listen, bro. Listen. Put the ball. Listen, if I'm a player and I can go tell management what to do, that's on y'all. Put the lotion in the basket.
Starting point is 01:41:27 I'm sorry player and I go tell management what to do, that's on y'all. Put the lotion in the basket. I'm sorry, but... I'm sorry. Here we go. Stop, Josh. They don't get it. It's over their head. They don't get it. No, I put the lotion in.
Starting point is 01:41:38 They don't get it. Okay, my problem. I just... So we are clear, right? You get on the team that's number two in the Eastern Conference. Adam Silver's Eastern Conference. Eastern Conference, you're number two, right? You are one of the favorites to get to the championship.
Starting point is 01:41:58 Our championship contender. Giannis averaging 31 and 12. You got Dame averaging 25, 7 and 4. Those are numbers. You took over and you are 24. That means the teams that you are better than since then would be probably the Pistons, the Wizhmm. The Wizards. Ooh. The Hornets. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:42:28 It's true. Maybe Raptors. It's tricky with them. Ooh, that's true. Right? Let's see if we can go to the West. Maybe. You went very close. Maybe the Trail Blazers.
Starting point is 01:42:36 Maybe. Mm-hmm. Right? You're there. Now, two to 24. You are 24th in your last 41 games. And what was that fucking question you asked me when I was pissed off the first day? You asked me, did Doc do what?
Starting point is 01:42:58 He didn't, he didn't, he didn't what? It was... No, when he said, you missed it. Hold on, I'll find it, Gil. You said, Doc said he never failed. Oh, never failed as a coach. Never failed as a coach, yeah. What the fuck do you call this then?
Starting point is 01:43:15 I'm not even... What the fuck do you call this? You have two, you have a two top... Doc said he's never come up short in his coaching career okay you're not coming up short right now yep with with the team that second and you're you're you have the 24th best record since you've been coaching with that team okay under 500 all right drug test that mother fun defile test them and doc also said, though, That's nasty.
Starting point is 01:43:45 That's nasty. I said I've never come up short of my coaching career, but having said that, I want to do more. And to do more, you have to put yourself in situations where you're going to be criticized if you don't do it. And I'm fine with that. This feels like one of those situations. Oh, yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:43:57 Good, good, good, yeah. Oh, yeah, we're going to just lose. Let's dump him. I'm going to jump you. You're going to jump you. We're going to jump you. You're cool with getting jumped. Right.
Starting point is 01:44:06 For doing bullshit. Right now, this is like being at the casino and you down $100,000. Right. Dumb money says keep trying to get your money back and get even. Bet it. Right. Bet it. We're going to keep betting.
Starting point is 01:44:23 Now listen. And the problem is they're going to try to keep betting just to break even again. Yes. We got to get back. Not to win money, to break even again. Just to feel good. Right now, there's nothing Doc can do to be positive unless he wins a championship. Other than that, he is fighting upstream to be even money.
Starting point is 01:44:45 Trying to get even money. And he's getting deeper and deeper and deeper into the bank. You're 24. You got to crawl all the way back up to three just to be even. With no new pieces. With the pieces he had. And he had less pieces. He did it in second with less pieces.
Starting point is 01:45:07 And y'all got rid of the pieces he wanted, and he was like. All right, all right, all right, all right. Leave my buck slow. Next. So Brandon, we asked the chat. Damn. Should Mr. B be concerned over the buck slow start? 82% for you.
Starting point is 01:45:20 82% So let's try and make this a positive. We've heard from Gil. We've heard from Rashad. Put the lotion in the basket, Rashad, as you said. I did. Okay. Cocoa butter, regular lotion, jerky?
Starting point is 01:45:30 No, no, no. No? No, no, no. Johnson and Johnson. Oh, okay. Brendan, you're a comedian. What do the Bucs need to do to get back on the right track? Let's make it positive.
Starting point is 01:45:43 What do the Bucs need to do to get back on the right track? It's four games into the season. We're not going to overreact. No, I mean. Don't do it. I mean, we stuck. What do they need to do to get you a dinner at Nobu? No, we're stuck.
Starting point is 01:45:54 No, but we are stuck. No, seriously. No, seriously. I'm going to be honest. No, what you said, 19 and 22, I mean, we're stuck. We can't do anything right now. We have to do something. But what are you going to do?
Starting point is 01:46:04 You're going to fire Doc. We're already paying two other coaches. That's not even. What? I mean, what are stuck. We can't do anything right now. We have to do something. But what are you going to do? You're going to fire Doc? We're already paying two other coaches. That's not even... I mean, what are you going to do? Trade Damian? You can't do that. No, no. Because we're not in a position to be rebuilding.
Starting point is 01:46:13 We're just stuck. We have to just go with what we have right now. So whose problem is that if it ain't the coaches, it ain't the GMs? I don't know, man. Whose problem is that? That's the leader of the team gotta figure out how to lead the troops to victory hey guess what
Starting point is 01:46:30 guess what they can go they can go 10 and 0 the next 10 games and they will be 22 even money they will be ranked. Even money. They would be ranked 22 out of the last 51 games.
Starting point is 01:46:51 The theme for the show today is territory. They can go 10-0. They're going to be 22 in the last 51 games. That's how fucking far. That's how bad it is. That's crazy. They don't realize what you're saying, though. No, they don't. Think about what he's saying. 10-0 crazy. They don't realize what you're saying, though. No, they don't.
Starting point is 01:47:06 Think about what he's saying. 10 games, 10-0 stretch. They can go 10-0. And they still 22nd. And he will still be 22nd out of the last 51 games. So that's how far behind he is compared to where he started. He put them in a real deep hole. Pause. Good pause.
Starting point is 01:47:24 Good pause there. Nah. I'm on time. I'm on time. I'm on time. Okay. All right. I got a question.
Starting point is 01:47:29 All right. If the Bucks, whatever happens this year, who gets fired first? Who gets fired and who gets traded first? Hmm. Do they trade upstairs? I mean, do they change upstairs? Do they trade? I'm the owner?
Starting point is 01:47:41 Yeah. Uh-huh. Yep. And you're the owner. You got to make a decision. I'm firing my general manager. Okay. Because obviously he's making bad decisions. You fired Bud. Why? Because you didn't like him? Because they didn't like him?
Starting point is 01:47:59 I don't think anybody liked majority of the coaches that won championships for him, right? But they won championships, right? Is the decisions not coming from the owner no okay being okayed by remember there was three different oh yeah who got it this I think one tapped out something has them who owns the Browns yeah I'm going to fire him. And then I'm going to evaluate Doc Rivers and that coaching staff. Because you're telling me a rookie coach can come in. What I'm saying is I'm going to have to open it up
Starting point is 01:48:34 and look at it. You're going to tell me a rookie coach has a 30 and 13 and all American coach of the year, a champion, and this person who gets all these jobs.
Starting point is 01:48:46 You're telling me you can't even at least be even? If this GM... This should be the other way around, right? This should have been 22 and 19, or 19 and 22 stars, and you should be 30 and 13 from your resume. But I'm the GM that got you, Adrian. So it's not on me. But you fired him.
Starting point is 01:49:04 Remember? You know why I fired him? Why? Because it's over my head at this point. Oh, Adrian. So it's not on me. But you fired him. Remember why? You know why I fired him? Why? Because it's over my head at this point. Oh. Think about why it's over my head. It's going from here to the owner. So pass him. It's going past because I brung in Adrian.
Starting point is 01:49:18 Okay. The rookie coach, we doubled down on him. And you fired him. This is my guy. Adrian, I did not want to do this. You know I didn't bring you in for this. You know I didn't have this kind of plan for you. This is out of my hands.
Starting point is 01:49:30 So you're saying the player went... Over me. Over me to the owner. And the owner said, we got to get rid of him. If he's unhappy, get rid of him. How else does the power play happen if I'm the same GM that brought in the God that got us 30 and 13? You can't put it on me. But how many players? They said the team was tripping. It us 30 and 13, you can't put it on me. But how many players what?
Starting point is 01:49:47 They said the team was tripping. It don't matter. You just can't put it on me. I can't. You can't put it on 30 and 13 GM. I picked him. He was our guy. They didn't want him.
Starting point is 01:49:56 The team tripping, yes, but one person on that team's voice, I feel like it's louder than everyone else. Two people. Two people. Two people. That's a unanimous, that's a unanimous. One of those two is louder.
Starting point is 01:50:09 It's nasty. It looks nasty now. I doubt that they went over the gym, bro. It looks nasty now. If you saying to me the GM should be the one out. I'm the general manager.
Starting point is 01:50:17 You brung me Adrian 30. You brung me second place. What I'm saying is if I'm the general manager. No, I hear you, though. I hear that does happen. And we're 30 and 13 and y'all coming up saying we don't like him, get rid of him.
Starting point is 01:50:29 I got to go to the owner and say what we do. What do we do? I'm about to tell him, get the fuck out of my office. No, I'm telling the owner. I'm saying, look, get the fuck out of my office. Get your stupid ass out of my office. Yeah, get the fuck out of my office. Yes.
Starting point is 01:50:38 Get the fuck out of my office. What if he did that? Hmm? What if he did that? Then he wouldn't have been fired. No, then they went over his head. Cool. It's like going to the principal.
Starting point is 01:50:46 I would have told the owner. I went to the principal. He wasn't listening. I would have told the owner, let me do my goddamn job then. We went to the superintendent. Now, we had to leave the principal office to go to the superintendent. And I would have told the principal. The GM should have told the owner, this is why you hired me, right?
Starting point is 01:50:59 We 30 and 13. Let me do my job. Let me do my goddamn job. Don't fire him. If you mad, then don't play then. I like that. If you mad, that's not what happened,
Starting point is 01:51:08 is it? We don't know. We got to know. This is like an investigation. We have just narrowed down the possible suspects. No, you did. For sure.
Starting point is 01:51:16 You did. Only you did. Yeah, I'm putting this on the board. Only you did. Paulo, Paulo. You got one name up there. We're sending the ransom,
Starting point is 01:51:24 Paulo. He got, you know, he got... You hear me? He got Giannis. He got Giannis and everybody else is faded. They going down. This is the web, the culprits. The Nastas, you over here, circle through.
Starting point is 01:51:31 I got you. You got the Nastas and Giannis as the culprits? I know who did it. You know something, Nastas. I know who did it. I know who did it. You know something, Nastas. You can't play Clue with him, dog.
Starting point is 01:51:39 I'm going. As soon as you get here, I already know who did it. You got it. You got it. You got it. You got it. You got it. You got it. You got it. You did it. I know who did it. You know something. You can't play clue with him, dog. As soon as you get here, I already know who did it. You got it.
Starting point is 01:51:49 All right, well. Let's go. We will see what happens in Milwaukee. Brandon, for your sake, we hope that the Bucks can right the ship. We hope they do run 10 straight so they can jump up because that is an improvement at least
Starting point is 01:51:58 because if you go from 24 to 25, you know, I'm just letting you know I Don't get when Media this is this is your fault I'm sorry This is your fault that this should have been pointed out when when Westbrook was two for 18 and you got every fucking stat on The player yeah any time I'm like oh, when Russell's on the court at 2-18, they losing this, and when Joker is, y'all got all those stats, but you don't have a stat on a
Starting point is 01:52:30 coach and the games he played and where he's ranked. Move around. Okay. Let's go. And let's move around. We're going to move. Let's go. Out West, strange things are afoot out in the Bay. So with Steph suffering an ankle injury, leaving the game against the Clippers Sunday,
Starting point is 01:52:46 Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opted to bench Draymond for the last eight minutes in what became their first loss of the season. And shortly before their Tuesday night TNT game against the Pelicans, the Warriors announced fourth year forward Jonathan Kaminga was being moved to the bench after starting the first three games.
Starting point is 01:53:01 The Warriors were already down two starters in Steph and Wiggins, moved Buddy Hield, Brandon Pajimski, and Moses Moody into the starting lineup. Kaminga did play a season-high 28 minutes in the game, though finishing with 17 points, three boards, three dimes, and two steals, but was subbed out with four minutes remaining, and the Warriors up 10, didn't play the rest of the game. But the Warriors did improve to 3-1 on the season. So after the game, Kerr was asked about his decision to move Kaminga out of the starting five.
Starting point is 01:53:30 So without Steph and Wiggs, I didn't want to start Trey, Straymon, and J.K. I wanted a little more spacing, and I knew it would be a J.K. game. I knew he would play a lot because um he's played well against his team the matchups are good for him and as i told him before the game you're gonna play a lot it's just this is just about combinations and um you know getting a little more spacing on the floor to start so all it is is just um shuffling the lineup to try to get the right five-man grouping on there. But without Steph and Wiggs, to me it didn't make sense to start the three bigs without those guards. As previously mentioned, Kaminga, final year's DLB, restricted free agent this summer,
Starting point is 01:54:21 has not reached terms on an extension with the Warriors. They can match any offer that he gets in the open market. Reports are still that the numbers are a little far apart. But do you understand Kerr's reasoning for moving Kaminga to the bench against the Pelicans? They won the game. 100%. I understand 1,000%, and I said it when we talked about this before,
Starting point is 01:54:47 if he don't sign that contract, his ass is going to that bench, and he's going to be worth a six-man value. If he would have signed that contract, what they wanted, he would have been starting, doing everything he wanted to do. But because they haven't came up to the number that they both wanted, he would have been starting, doing everything he wanted to do. But because they haven't came up to the number that they both wanted, they're going to bring him off the bench, and whatever he does off the bench is going to be capped off at a six man, and that's what he's going to be worth. Now, you're telling me, and you want a basketball player to say, your first option and your
Starting point is 01:55:19 second option is not here, we're going to bench the third option? You're not going to be our first option? Where? Where? Where does that happen at? For spacing, Gil. Where does that happen? Nowhere. In basketball? Nowhere. My first two, this is like, this is like going to Phoenix. Kevin Durant, out.
Starting point is 01:55:38 Booker, out. Bill, off the bench. What? Excuse me? What? Why? That makes sense. Why? Why? Because I'm scared he's gonna go out there and makes it why I'm scared he gonna go out there half-forty I'm scared he's gonna go out there and try to carry the team keep his balance has he been playing well what do you think he was gonna do if we're using I don't know I mean yes yes. He hasn't been playing well, though. What I'm saying is...
Starting point is 01:56:06 Have you seen him when Steph ain't in the court? Steph and Wiggins is gone. Who gets the ball? They started two people who shot one shot and three shots. Who you think was shooting the ball? I saw the other night. I don't want him to score four. I saw the other night when Steph went in the game
Starting point is 01:56:22 and Wiggins was hooping. 29. Amiga wasn't doing nothing. In those first three games, I think he was averaging like eight points. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You ain't ready. This was his best game. I don't think he's ready.
Starting point is 01:56:33 Two players are not there. What do you think he was going to do? I don't think he's ready is what I'm saying. Brandon. You averaging. We played four games. You're having eight points, and you wanted us to give you 150 million? Brandon, I told y'all this.
Starting point is 01:56:46 I told y'all this. Nice kid. Like, good kid. Nice kid. I said, what? Run. It's a burning building. It's gonna crumble on your head. You're gonna take the blame if you take this contract. First three games this season, he was averaging 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Y'all
Starting point is 01:57:01 telling me he gonna be this. Playing 20 minutes a game. Played a season high, 28. He played a season high, 28, coming off the bench. Off the bench. Had his best game of the season. They put in a guy who had one shot. And he's playing There was a man who took one shot in the game. Last year, that was his stats?
Starting point is 01:57:18 No, this, for the start of this season. So he's playing 28 games, 28 minutes, averaging eight points. So he was playing 20 minutes in the first three games, averaging eight points, three rebounds, one assist. Oh, 28 minutes, averaging 8 points. So he was playing 20 minutes in the first three games, averaging 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Oh, 20 minutes. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You see what that...
Starting point is 01:57:31 Did you hear how Steve Kerr tried to make the world believe this is how coaches are supposed to coach a player? Do you see how he made it look like? He might be trying to spark a fire. This is how you coach a guy who you don't know where to put him? I know and you know, you can't pay him So this is what you this is how politely you say? Oh, yeah I went up to him before the game and I told him you know We're just gonna try some stuff out
Starting point is 01:57:56 Let me think if Steve curved this is this a Hall of Fame coaches everybody thinks he is right? Why are you adjusting the teams that ain't even? figured y'all out yet? You're going out here saying you're adjusting and switching things up? What happened to them adjusting to y'all? What happened to Jonathan Kaminga being a star three small forward
Starting point is 01:58:17 in his league that you can work around? Mostly power forward he played a lot. He did it to, what's his name, Tatum in the USA? He just did it. That's what I'm saying. This should be frowned upon They go smart don't they start like a farting watch. No, this should be found upon on Steve courage Just being a bad coach. Nah, bro. Listen to his reasoning behind doing it Hey, they did the reasoning behind benching Jonathan Kaminga was to create spacing. No, but that's what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:58:42 It's it's fluff. I definitely fluff. I Know what y'all are doing cuz I will do it Why would I let him go off that I would try to talk Why would you let him go out there score 40 get his numbers up because obviously we trade him we can trade We go a bigger layer What I'm saying is he gonna go out there and shoot all the shots. I would rather let Buddy Hill take all those shots because he's under contract. This guy is a free agent and I do want him.
Starting point is 01:59:13 But if he plays out of what I can pay him, I fucked up. But you already not paying him. James Harden. You already not paying him. No, James Harden, OKC. I got to keep him on the bench. I don't want to start him. Houston was just smart enough to be like, we're not falling for that shit.
Starting point is 01:59:32 This is a star player here. We're going to pay him. Oh, I... If you're Kaminga, are you off them for doing this? For pulling that move? Knowing that you could have paid me money? No. I'm going to tell you right now.
Starting point is 01:59:47 It's called a strong move. Did I feel some type of way? This is the chess move. How is it? Do you think he knows the chess move? If you're the warrior, though, if you're Kaminga, you've seen what they did to Klay. He brought four chips in. This is all I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:00:01 You are not Klay, dog. Businesses, sometimes you're in part of, you're in the middle of business. And you have to understand, protect yourself. Because right now, moving forward, when you're coming up, the more they win, the more he's right about bringing them off the bench. Oh, yeah, we keep them off the bench. Now, what happens if this is what you average the rest of the season, eight, nine, ten points?
Starting point is 02:00:34 Currently averaging ten points. Now, when you go to negotiate your contract, what you think your value is in the open market, there will have to be a team that says, we don't care what happened last year. We're going to pay you the $150 for them to. Other than that, we don't care what happened last year we're gonna pay you the 150 for them to for other than that you're looking at just moving for you're looking at what a four year 100 they're gonna match that brother and when they match it you're gonna be starting next year
Starting point is 02:00:54 and you're gonna be getting a lot of shots if you sign that contract today i guarantee you your ass gonna be in the starting lineup playing 38 fucking minutes. Right now, you are a free agent. Your ass is gonna be playing 20. I'm gonna find somebody to put in. You got drafted last year in the second round. Start. You play some. Who started over him?
Starting point is 02:01:18 So they put in Pajewski. No, that's not for him. Who did they start for him at the forward? It was Draymond and Trace Jackson Davis. Trace Jackson. When did he get drafted? I believe last year. Last year.
Starting point is 02:01:33 Okay. What pick was he? He was number one pick, number two? He was not the number one or number two pick. Number five. He was the 57th overall pick. 57, right? Two picks behind Bronny James this year.
Starting point is 02:01:43 So we know what a talent looks like. In the 2023 draft, but yes. Right? behind Bronny James, right? This year, right? So we know what a talent looks like. In the 2023 draft, but yes. Right? So Bronny James is 55. That means after him, there's two other people. Y'all don't know their names.
Starting point is 02:01:51 That's where he got drafted. Mm-hmm. Right? And you're saying, I'd rather start him who took one shot before I let you ball to pay you.
Starting point is 02:02:02 Mm-hmm. But they did win the game. But I don't give a fuck about... You have to be at home. But why is he doing it this early, too? Because. Because Mike Dunleavy told him to. And the owner told him to.
Starting point is 02:02:14 That's why. And that's what I was saying. You got to go up there. Get the hell out of there. Once I seen who took over, get out, Kaminga. They're not going to do right by you. They're going to do right by theyself. I said don't cheat the game.
Starting point is 02:02:27 The organization is the only person that can treat you, the only entity that can cheat you. Don't cheat the game, though, young fella. You got to still go out there and be professional, still show up, don't cheat the game, or the game will cheat you. But does Kaminga have a stronger case if this happens, the Warriors get smacked?
Starting point is 02:02:43 They won the game. They beat the Pelicans. What I'm saying is... You can see what they're doing now. As a player, yes. This ain't about the record. This is about you. Right? The horror stories
Starting point is 02:02:56 of Dennis Schroeder. What was the young kid from Philly? He came to Dallas. He went to Dallas. Noel. Noel. Noel. Noel. Yeah. Noel. Same shit.
Starting point is 02:03:07 They offered him big money. He turned it down. Right? They offered him a big contract. He turned it down and said he's worth blah, blah, blah. They said, okay, that's what you're worth? Bench you. They benched him.
Starting point is 02:03:22 He couldn't get his value. Now he got to sign one-year deals. Yep. Right? Kate Robinson did the same thing. Right? There's these, it happens every year. You don't want to be that story.
Starting point is 02:03:34 You're going to have to call your agent, your parents, and say, look, the way it's been looking the last four games, I think by the end of this season, it's not going to look good for me when I sign that contract. I think I'm going to lose money. So I'm going to accept this deal and then try to get it back for my next deal. Because what happens, the chances of me losing money on this deal, it looks very promising. I can lose $20, $30 million coming off the bench playing this way. So let me sign this deal so they can start me so I can play basketball.
Starting point is 02:04:15 This is not a basketball move. So what message is it sending for the players to be able to say, man, you got to accept what they throw at you? And quickly, just Moses Moody, I think, came in. So Trace and Draymond had been starting already. Kaminga Moore kind of in that 3-4 role. He said he wasn't going to budge Draymond. I'm just telling you.
Starting point is 02:04:33 But Moses Moody under contract, signed that extension, I think a week or two ago. But he already got his breath. Moses Moody's been starting for when? So he came into the starting lineup. So he lost his, what position does Trey play? He's five, I believe. And Moses Muzi what?
Starting point is 02:04:52 Two, three, four. Is it three, four? No, two, three, my bad. Yeah, two, three. So the point is, Trey Jackson's been starting, Draymond's been starting. It was either Draymond or Kerminga. I don't care, they started a dude who took one shot. But my point is, Moody signed an extension recently,
Starting point is 02:05:09 so he's under contract now. So they don't care if he goes out and cooks. That's what I'm saying. I don't care. Krasinski, all y'all, take y'all shots. The only person. Fire Steve Kerr. Huh?
Starting point is 02:05:20 Fire Steve Kerr. No, you can't. You know why? You have to. Because I'm making the call. I'm making the call. I'm telling you what to do. You can't. You can't. He's cooked. No, he's not. You Can't. Can't. Can't. No, you can't. You know why? You have to. Because I'm making the call. I'm making the call. I'm telling you what to do. You can't.
Starting point is 02:05:27 You can't. He's cooked. No, he's not. You can't. He's cooked. He's the fall guy. You can't. He's cooked.
Starting point is 02:05:32 You can't. You can't. Well, let's keep the Warriors theme going. Let's win it. Huh? There were four games around the league last night. We got to show some love to a few guys with a special hibachi time.
Starting point is 02:05:45 I can't wait to get this shit off my face. It is getting a little crusty. So, after Klay Thompson's departure to Dallas this offseason, many wondered how the Warriors would fill the void. Buddy Hilde has been up to the challenge so far
Starting point is 02:06:00 this season. So, Buddy only had three points in the first half but had a monster fourth quarter, dropping 19 of his 28 points. He was 7 for 11 from 3 in the game. So far this season, Hilde is leading the Warriors in scoring after 21.3 points per game while shooting 56% from deep. He's also one of five players in league history with 20 plus threes made in the first four games of a season. Why not? We see Steph on the bench right there.
Starting point is 02:06:28 He'll be out for the next couple games. Turned up. You got surprised by Buddy Hill's play so far this season with the Warriors? What, you said Steph was turned up? Lightly. Gentleman's cut. Are we surprised by Buddy? No. He had the tough crowd on him. No, I'm not. That's the perfect system for him. Absolutely. Have you started his career and go home?
Starting point is 02:06:49 I hate oh, yeah be all-star. They're calling him. You know, it's crazy now They'll be all-star for sure. But you You think if they would have buddy Hill early you think they would have traded clay? Yes Wow, yes before you got hurt cuz Buddy got more game than Klay. Before he got hurt? I don't know if before he got hurt. Buddy got way more game than Klay.
Starting point is 02:07:09 You mean after he got, like, after, like, champion, like, like, 2020, after y'all won the last championship, got rid of him? Before Klay got hurt,
Starting point is 02:07:18 hell no. No, no, no, not before. No. Not before. Around, I don't know, what time period?
Starting point is 02:07:25 Just period. No, just say it. Just period. Around, I don't know, what time period? Just period. No, just say it. Just period. Like, Buddy Hill's talent and potential to be like a Clay Thompson. He could put on a four. He's right there. He could shoot that moment. But he ain't no 60 points in 11 dribbles.
Starting point is 02:07:39 He is. No, he's not. Absolutely. No, he can put the ball. Absolutely. No, he can give you a bucket 60 bro, I promise you you can't like what clay say what clay brung clay can't do that on no other team with the Warriors He would never be able to do 60 with 11 We don't know only doing it cuz that team has a system to do it, but we don't 60 with 11
Starting point is 02:07:59 That's why buddy with them buddy with them can get that 60. No, not another family shoot No That's why Buddy with them can get that 60. No, not in fact. I promise you. He said that Buddy would have started. If you would have replaced Clay with Buddy Hill, Buddy would be a Hall of Famer. Buddy wouldn't have the records Clay has. Huh? No, I'm not saying about the records.
Starting point is 02:08:17 60 and 11, like 60 points in 29 minutes. Buddy better than Clay. Like overall, Shooter in the whole nine. He just been on teams where he can't get open shots. So he was in Sacramento. There's certain guys that if you put in those positions
Starting point is 02:08:33 to shoot the ball as a shooter. Just shoot? As a shooter. No. I'm telling you. You don't shoot as fast? You're talking about a guy who Buddy Hill,
Starting point is 02:08:41 coming out of Oklahoma, was supposed to be that guy so you went to sacramento so you would have traded clay like like he has overall basketball skills yes overall yes he's an overall better player knife skill wise night but you're talking about a sniper who shoots that fast he don't shoot as fast as go Go look at his college stats. I'm talking about his NBA stats. I'm not talking about his percentage. Because he went to a team where he couldn't show that. He couldn't show. None of the things you won't see.
Starting point is 02:09:11 Buddy Hill puts it on the ball. If you hear he's going to put it on the ball and give you that, Klay took two shots by then. Listen, bro. Buddy can do what Klay does and do what he do. How about that? They have one of their four friends. They can't do what each other do.
Starting point is 02:09:25 But they have one of their four friends. Who? No, they can't do what each other do. Yeah. Yes. Instead of Klay. They can't do what each other do. That's the problem.
Starting point is 02:09:32 They can't do... They're coming off pin downs. They're coming off actions. They catch and shoot. Soon as I get it. And guess what they do? They chase the ball. I'm coming...
Starting point is 02:09:41 Give it to me. I got it. As soon as I let it go, it splashed. I know it. Soon as... Trust me. I come from think they come from underneath us So they know they man we used to chase the ball soon as you catch it while he's there be acting on us Clay's been hurt and all these injuries and they both average the same right now That's tough telling and one's the third option telling you if Buddy Hill ever had the opportunity to play with a guy like Steph Curry, where you got to either pick between me and him, bro, he's a dead-eye sniper, bro.
Starting point is 02:10:11 Buddy Hill is really one of them guys. He's really one of them guys. So Steph getting his fourth ring with Buddy Hill instead of Klay. If Draymond step up to beat Draymond at one last run, they could definitely do it. I'm just talking about the speed of getting the shots off. Like, what Clay does
Starting point is 02:10:32 is unmatched. It's just the speed of it. Efficiency is there, though. That's what I'm saying. The efficiency, the rate. Buddy can hit. Hey, I'm with Buddy. I'm with Buddy for sure. It's about time because he had a stint where he was missing because he was trying to rush out he wanted him i'm not he don't think he just shoot i'm just trying to get him up but once he starts seeing it go in under pressure that's when you
Starting point is 02:10:55 lock in that's when it's like your seat adjust i got the seat right where i want it now you know 40 career three points like what's so funny is with the way he plays, any team that gets him is such an upgrade, right? He's one of those two guards that he don't have the name, but he's consistent with 17, 18, 19. So you put him on a team where you're lacking a shooting guard, he changes your game. Thanks.
Starting point is 02:11:26 Denver, he changes your game. Oh, for sure. Lakers, he changes your game. Denver, he changes your game. Oh, for sure. Lakers, he changes the situation. What? He's the type of guy where you don't need to go out and pay for a $100 million shooting guard. I can pay for, I can get somebody who averaged 19
Starting point is 02:11:39 and still keep big money for somebody else. There's not a lot of players like that. Him and Malik Monk are the two guys that I feel like mirror each other. They have to play six-man. They have to play behind guys like Better Than. He's not a six-man, though.
Starting point is 02:11:52 He's really not. Neither is Malik. Malik, not either. Eh, a little. Sometimes. You know what I'm saying? In situations. No, situations.
Starting point is 02:11:59 You put him in situations, you got it. I'd rather you come off the bench. It's the erratic beat. Like, he has the typical six-man. Yeah, but Buddy's a starter, though. He has J.R. Smith tendencies. Yeah, like he has the typical six-man. Yeah, but Buddy's a starter, though. He has J.R. Smith tendencies. Yeah, he got that erratic behavior tendency. But J.R. became a starter, though.
Starting point is 02:12:09 You know what I'm saying? Like, you can play your position knowing that this is what you do. You don't got to do all that. There's not a lot of players like that. There's not. And we need players like that. What? Like the J.R. Smith type where they can just, you know, you ain't got to ask a lot.
Starting point is 02:12:22 They just get a bucket. They going to come in and get a. Yeah, you always need a six-man who has no conscience, but there's some six-mans you just can't start because their behavior is just erratic. And, you know, when you're talking about starting, it's more, what, managing. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:12:38 It's managing the game, but they don't have it. A buddy might come in and get three shots, and they're supposed to go to Steph, and he done took the three just because they come in. Boom, boom, boom. And that ain't the play. Usually it's execution. He is one of those already. It was the Jordan Poole trying to figure out how to
Starting point is 02:12:51 come in. You're trying to figure out how to be a starter. It's a different role. But I think he's perfect for that team, for sure. Right now, yeah. Well, for sure. Let's keep this moving. You better sign that contract, man. I'm telling you, as a vet, as a veteran, if nobody's telling you, I know you have your own agent, and I understand, but history is history, and you don't want to be a part of that part of it. You don't want to be that guy who's sitting back talking
Starting point is 02:13:26 about, goddammit, I should have signed the contract. Because I'm telling you, if I was the owner, this is exactly what I'm doing to you. That's why I called it before. If he wouldn't sign that deal, he's cooked. He don't have the type of name that I'm forced, right? Right. He don't have the type of name where I'm forced to start him.
Starting point is 02:13:44 If I keep him on the bench, there's nobody who's going to be arguing for his right? Right. He don't have the type of name where I'm forced to start him. If I keep him on the bench, there's nobody who's gonna be arguing for his defense. Right. Yeah. He's not that... He doesn't have that name
Starting point is 02:13:52 where he's gonna be like... The fans are sitting there like, ah, come on, what you doing over here? Yeah, that's what just happened. Yeah. That's what just happened. Ain't nobody really go crazy. It's a lot of cook...
Starting point is 02:14:00 Like, if we don't say nothing, really ain't gonna say. Think about, uh, what is it? Austin... Austin Reeves. He come off the bench, everybody's like, well, hold on, man, what's going on? cook. Like, if we don't say nothing, really. But, like, think about, what is it, Austin Reeves. You come off the bench, everybody's like, well, hold on, man, what's going on? Like, yo, we're losing some games.
Starting point is 02:14:14 All right, well, let's keep this moving. After dropping back-to-back 40 pieces, reigning MVP Nikola Jokic filled up the stat sheet in an overtime win against the Nets in Brooklyn on Tuesday. So, Jokic dropped his second triple-double of the season, finishing with 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists. So Joker joins Oscar Robertson as the only player in NBA history to reach this stat line with the big O doing it twice in his career.
Starting point is 02:14:38 And it was Joker's seventh time in his career reaching 25 plus points, 15 plus rebounds and 15 plus assists in the game, which is more than every other active player combined. We're gonna take a look at these highlights. Man is special. Jamal Murray also had a 24-piece in the game. We gotta give him some love as well. Brooklyn Nets. Took him to overtime.
Starting point is 02:15:00 Is this another overtime game? Mm-hmm. They struggling. Take a straight overtime game. That championship should be wearing off fast, man. Took him to overtime. Is this another overtime game? Mm-hmm. They struggling. Take a straight overtime game. That championship should be wearing off fast, man. So we've talked about this. Obviously, Joker's going to need to play at an MVP level just to make the Nuggets relevant in the Western Conference playoff picture.
Starting point is 02:15:16 But do you think he's able to sustain this for an entire season? Like, this is... This... 40-something... So back-to-back 40 pieces, then come through with this. He's capable, but if Joker's sitting there averaging 40, that means your team is not... They're not doing what they need to do
Starting point is 02:15:39 to win a championship. Because when Joker's at that 20 to 30 and he's getting, you know, 10, 12 assists and everybody's eating, they're a better team. Those days where he had to go for 45, 50, they were lacking and he had to take it upon himself to do what he does. So if he has to do this the whole season...
Starting point is 02:16:02 Jamal Murray, 24 points in the game. Aaron Gordon, 24 points in the game. I know you're saying, oh, that's cool because it's against the Brooklyn Nets in an overtime win. Overtime win with the Brooklyn Nets. In Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Nets. In Brooklyn, yeah. You know what?
Starting point is 02:16:15 You know what? They got juniors. I love this game, though. Game of basketball. Watching it. Playing it. Mastering it. I love this game though. This game of basketball, watching it, playing it, mastering it. You watch this dude Joker play, man,
Starting point is 02:16:31 and I'm thinking about the offense set up for him to succeed, the split cuts, the actions on the bottom and doghouse, wide corner, corner field action in the wide, wide corner, right? Pulling the big guard all the way over. Mm-hmm. With action happening where you got to now allow me to go one-on-one with a dude that ain't never played with a big that can actually jump hook you every time down.
Starting point is 02:16:58 Boom, get your body. Ah, ah. Jump hook. Boom. Left or right. All right, we ain't talking about no fadeaways. We ain't talking about no face-ups. So then you look at him passing the ball like all right if you good enough to be able to play off the ball and be able to set a screen and cut back door he gonna hit you every single time so
Starting point is 02:17:16 if you're a stupid defense you either know to switch it or stay with your own but there's action happening and it's help that you got to do. So you got to be on an accord. So if you Joker, you know, once this split cut action, he should be open right here. We're going to get the first one. The second one to be, he going to help over, but he going to flash up to the top. We're going to get that jump shot right there. That's Michael Porter Jr. We're going to do that again.
Starting point is 02:17:42 And that corner guy going to try to jump switch that. Then guess who opened in the corner? Three pointer. Now I got y'all moving around, scrambling. and that corner guy gonna try to jump switch that. Then guess who opened in the corner? Three-pointer. Now I got y'all moving around, scrambling. While all the while I got 40 on this dude down here. That's real basketball. How could you not love that? That's simple.
Starting point is 02:17:56 Straight to the point. We ain't talking about Jamal Murray. We ain't talking about the 24. We ain't talking about nothing else. Just Joker affecting the game. By himself. How could you not be like, damn, bro, this dude is cold? Remember when I said it, I said,
Starting point is 02:18:13 there's only one team that's playing old school basketball. Yep. Right? That's using all the pieces, right? Makes sense because who the general manager is. Calvin Booth. Yep. Washington Wizards.
Starting point is 02:18:25 Yep. Right? That's what we play, split game. Right? Now, with Joker, he understands basketball so well. I'm going to go middle, right? Ha, ha. He don't need to know where his player is because they already understand the language.
Starting point is 02:18:42 Yep. Right? I'm here. If I see a defense player here, I know that they the language. Yep. Right? I'm here. If I see a defense player here, I know to throw there. Yep. Because the only way you stop me is if you left your man.
Starting point is 02:18:52 And I know where my man's supposed to be, so I can blindly just sit here and throw passes. If I come across and you come this way, I know that guy's in the corner, so I can just wrap it around. Just like, look, when people see people do stuff with instinct, they know where their player is supposed to be if you're stopping them.
Starting point is 02:19:10 If I come, boom, and I do a spin, and there's a guy here, I know where you left. Yep. Throw it to the corner. Yep. Right? He understands basketball that well. You guys are being taught to sit and watch.
Starting point is 02:19:28 Five out. Same thing I was saying about Orlando. Right? If he was in Denver, those guys are cutting. They're moving. The defense is not sitting there set. There's no nails in boxes because everybody's moving. Everybody's trying to backdoor you.
Starting point is 02:19:44 Gordon's making a living boxes because everybody's moving. Everybody's trying to backdoor you. Gordon's making a living in the dunker spot. You can't help. You think about helping, I'm dunking. They haven't figured it out yet. Because the man who has the ball in his hand is just that good. He's just that good. Are you going to play one on one or you're going to double let everybody else eat?
Starting point is 02:20:06 Either way, you're done. Crazy. All right, let's talk about another player that you guys enjoy watching. You all right? You still thinking about the Bucks, Brandon? Yeah. Did you see his face? Tears.
Starting point is 02:20:20 It's going to get better, all right? Tears. We're going to be back in the 414 turning up. We're gonna be back at Carson's enjoying ourselves. You're saying the shirt look like you've been fighting the battle yourself. Fix your collar. Fix your collar.
Starting point is 02:20:33 Man, God. That's how the shirt look. Collar? It look like a halter tie. Don't worry. We'll be hanging out in De like that. Don't worry. Son, let me fix your collar. We'll be hanging out in Deer District. I get it.
Starting point is 02:20:51 A lot of kids, they used to chew on their shirt. I remember that shit. Oh, my God. You used to chew on your shirt. You used to be chewing on your shirt. It's all saggy right now. Hey, stop chewing on your shirt. With the jersey over it, still go out there and play? It's dirty.
Starting point is 02:21:04 It's dirty. Your mama popping your hand. Stop chewing your shirt, boy Hey, you can start with the jersey over it, still go out there and play. It's dirty. It's dirty. Your mama popping your hand. Stop chewing your shirt, boy. I got no shirts. Brennan gets better, all right? I've seen the vision. We will be out of Milwaukee, celebrating at least a playoff berth, hopefully.
Starting point is 02:21:15 You and Kenya will be at No Boot. When that bill comes, I don't know whose credit card is going to go down. Cooked. I don't know. I'm sorry. But I will be there watching. I'm going to just be honest.
Starting point is 02:21:25 Go ahead and get ready to play. I'm sorry. But I will be there watching. I'm going to just be honest. Go ahead. Get ready to play. Miso kai. Black miso kai. Very delicious. With the mashed potatoes on the side. Excellent choice. I'm going to just be honest.
Starting point is 02:21:36 Just a few things. The reason I say you're going to pay is because the same, it's all been excuses from the end of the season to now it's only been excuses it hasn't been there's nothing that's came out positive from Milwaukee
Starting point is 02:21:56 right? what report has been a positive report oh yeah we're happy we're doing good everybody's looking when you hear someone talk, it's all been in defense
Starting point is 02:22:10 of what's been going on. I mean, I heard Drew Holiday used to play for us. He used to? That's what I heard. That's positive. They say Drew Holiday used to play for us. At least Drew Holiday used to play for us. I'm like, yeah, that's the only reason.
Starting point is 02:22:25 So the fact that the trade probably wasn't. Because he just won. The trade probably wasn't. You sent him to Portland. There was probably one place that you did not want him to go. But that's a lesson, too. You should stick with certain players, bro. Stick with Dugan.
Starting point is 02:22:38 I don't care who that player is. I don't care if he averaged 30. I don't give a, none of that. Like, if he ain't got a winning mentality like that or got a resume of winning, like, championships and doing certain things on the defensive end and stuff, you're not going to win. I don't care.
Starting point is 02:22:52 Let's talk about one more element from the Nuggets game. We got to get some – You're not going to win. Okay. One more. This will make you happy, Gil. I don't know if I'm trading a player that played two sides of the floor that won a championship for somebody that just plays one side.
Starting point is 02:23:05 You shoot, right? You shoot, right? Yeah, I shoot. You shoot, right? Mm-hmm. All right, if we was teammates, right? If we was teammates and we had Kyle Anderson on our team, how many threes can he get up in the game before you want to cuss him out?
Starting point is 02:23:21 No Kyle Anderson slander, Gil. Maybe two, right? Depends on if he make one. No, because if he's not shooting them ever and he get two of them, it's like... Like, there won't be no third one. Yeah, you bet not shoot a third one. Right?
Starting point is 02:23:35 Okay. Unnecessary. Bet not. He took six threes. Bet not shooting a third one. He took six threes. He's just getting his arm warm. He took six threes last night going to State War.
Starting point is 02:23:42 He took six of them. Six threes. Six. Well, they had to be made when they had even How much you think he made one for two one for six it's Kyle Anderson Yeah, unless it's me one person opposite and that's over six You just I'm saying it's like off not like six you six to come on man. It was the ball. Come on, dog. Come on, dog. You know that's not what you do. Like, I want you. Come on, man.
Starting point is 02:24:09 They got rid of Klay so he could do that. Just do what you do, man. It's Steve Kerr. I'm sorry. He's like, this is a good idea. Hey, go shoot six three-pointers, Kyle Anderson. Hey, let's try this. We need somebody to do what Klay was doing.
Starting point is 02:24:21 Like, I'm sorry, man. I watch smart, and he's a smart basketball player. Very smart. Went to a prestigious university. Very smart basketball player, right? But there's no way in hell that Sean Livingston, if he had the green light to take six threes, would he have taken six threes?
Starting point is 02:24:43 No. He would have been in there back the basket, mid-ranging you to death. He don't give a... I don't care how far you're backed up. He gonna dribble right to you, hit you with the middie every time. Rip Hamilton is not known for being a three-point shooter.
Starting point is 02:24:59 And he was an amazing three-point shooter. Yep. He did not waste his time shooting them. Nope. So the fact that you're not amazing three-point shooter. Yep. He did not waste his time shooting them. Nope. So the fact that you're not a three-point shooter taking six threes is ridiculous, man. Lesson learned, yo. Lesson learned. Dribble, handoff, dribble, get to the basket.
Starting point is 02:25:15 Like, the defense wants you to shoot six threes. I don't care if you take it. You go six for six. Like, God damn it. Cool. We live with that. We're living with it. We're living with it. We're living with it.
Starting point is 02:25:25 We're living with it. So we got to talk about one more thing before we get to mostly fans. So after a slow start, Russell Westbrook came up big. Oh, no, that's a Westbrook slander. No, this is positive, Gil. No, he played well. You know the rules. I know he went off as he should.
Starting point is 02:25:39 Westbrook. Carry on. 22 points, five assists off the bench in 21 minutes. Five for 12 from the field. Two for two from three. 10 for 10 from the line. After the game, Joker had high praise for his future Hall of Fame teammate. I mean, Ross was really amazing. Is it third quarter or fourth quarter?
Starting point is 02:25:55 I really don't know. He kept us in the game. He was really good pushing the pace. He made a couple shots. So, I mean, he was really good. I mean, you see, he's always talking the huddles. He's always lifting the guys up. He's always pushing the guys. So, he's a really good. I mean you see he's always he's always talking to huddles. He's always lifting the guys up He's all pushing the guys. So he's uh, he's a really good teammate and it's a good to have him in on our team
Starting point is 02:26:12 What what did he say that he's a really good teammate, oh He said man you put the translation Can you please know you're a slander. No Euro slander. No, I'm just saying. I didn't know. Nobody heard that shit. You know I speak it. Please speak it.
Starting point is 02:26:30 Speak it for us, please. Speak it for us, please. He said, listen. He said, that's my... Russ is cool. That's my... He cool. Okay.
Starting point is 02:26:36 He cool with us. Okay. We rode the donkey in the whole night. It came to the branch. He done chilled with the family. We good over here. When he plays good, I'm going to say good shit about him. I'll translate for over here. When he plays good, I'm going to say good shit about him. When he plays bad,
Starting point is 02:26:48 I'm going to not say nothing at all. He's always talking in huddle. He's always lifting the guys up. He's always pushing the guys. He's a really good teammate and it's good to have him on our team. So the reports, when Russ came to the That's all he said? Out of all them two? God damn! Okay. Second language, Gil.
Starting point is 02:27:03 I know. He kept them in the game. He kept them in the game. Okay, all right. So coming into the game... You know what? I'm going to just be honest. You should have just read it.
Starting point is 02:27:12 No, Gil. You should always just read it. You should always... When it comes to some of the Euros, just read it. Just anything when it comes to... They're not wimpy, man. Anything for reading, you read it.
Starting point is 02:27:22 You stopped doing the accent and everything. No, you know. I got... Oh, you stopped taking the accent classes. I've seen Gobert on the street. Ever since you popped that picture on the Internet with the mermaid hair, you've been acting different. With the cat joint? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:27:35 The West Coast water instance. The West Coast ass curl. But coming into game, Westbrook, which averages 6.3 rebounds, 3 assists, on 20-10-60 shooting splits in 19 minutes per game. Finally had a good game. Nuggets fans were a little down on him. But will Westbrook find his role on this team? Yeah, man.
Starting point is 02:27:53 He's going to save them a lot of games, though, this year. Trust me. With his energy. And you know how he is. Huss Westside, as you know. A lot of games. Russ just brings energy. Man, it's all mental, man, at this point for Russ.
Starting point is 02:28:08 And, you know, I think he's at the point of his career where he just want to be wanted, right? He wants to feel like he's, like, you value what he brings, right? Like, I come to practice every day. I don't get in trouble, right um i'm a great teammate i look out for everybody man just you know when i'm not playing well just have my back a little bit man and i'll run through the wall for you that's his mentality right and when when when you're when you're giving so much effort and no one's giving it back that wears on you and that's been happening to him for the last few years.
Starting point is 02:28:47 So hopefully he can find his way in Denver where they embrace what he brings. What he brings is I come to practice every single day. You don't have to worry about me when I leave this building. I'm not going to be arrested for drinking. I'm not going to be none of that. I'm going to come here. I'm going to give you my hardest effort.
Starting point is 02:29:04 If I go 8' eight or 0 for eight, I'm giving you everything. What is it that Russ has given teams that ain't taking them where they're expecting to go? Where they're expected to go? To the championship. So Denver is? Every team that's gotten Russell Westbrook has felt like he's a player
Starting point is 02:29:27 that can take them to the championship level. So the Wizards felt like they could, with Westbrook, they could go to the? Not them, not them, not them. No, I'm just saying. Not them, not them. But that wasn't a thing that was supposed to happen. That just happened because they needed to make a trade. But let's talk about just the people who are looking for a contending guard
Starting point is 02:29:42 to come in and help. You pick Russell Westbrook, and it's like, all right. Lakers, Lakers. We've allowed Russ to come in and be Russ in all of these different scenarios. They didn't allow Russ to be Russ with the Lakers. Okay, so what did we allow him to do? Who was he being? Whoever he was being, it ain't him.
Starting point is 02:29:56 He was being locked up like this dog right here. Okay, so whoever that is. Oh, okay, okay. I know what you're saying. He was being locked up like this dog. So whoever it is, look, whoever he was dealing with. That's who he became Now you here with this team. What are you expecting? Are you expecting a championship? They are considered a championship level there. Are you expecting what he's been giving you over the last five? No respect
Starting point is 02:30:19 No, but why is it always on rest of top two team in the why I gotta be on rust when the rest because of him Russ gets praised, it's praise. And when he gets killed, he gets killed. That's the way to game. Like, they kill Russ more than they praise Russ. Exactly. Because you haven't won. What?
Starting point is 02:30:37 Okay. What will? We just got to talk. Okay. No, no, no. We just got to talk. Let's just be honest. Okay, so let's be honest.
Starting point is 02:30:43 I'm just saying. Let's kill a lot of them. We do. Let's kill a lot of them. We do. Let's kill team. Let's kill's kill everybody. We do. Let's kill all of them. We do. Paul George. We do.
Starting point is 02:30:53 Let's kill all of them. When you come on my team, why are we not going to the chip? What team has he been on that was actually championship good? One team. The Clippers? One team. One team. Early Clippers? One team. OKC. Get the fuck out of here. OKC.
Starting point is 02:31:05 One team when they went with the... OKC. OKC. Early in his career. Early in his career. The Rockets. The Rockets. James and them.
Starting point is 02:31:11 The Rockets. Oh, so he was a second-year player. Was they second or third year? No, he wasn't. Fourth year. He wasn't a fourth-year player. Russell Westbrook, yes? They were...
Starting point is 02:31:20 He was not Russell Westbrook. They got there? They got there. What I'm saying is... He was an all-star. So he lost to LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Yeah, okay. You're making excuses for him right now.
Starting point is 02:31:29 No, no, no. I'm just saying, no. I'm making excuses. Nobody in the universe thought they were going to win against them. They got 4-1. No one looked at Russell Westbrook or OKC and said, oh, y'all, y'all failed. Just get past that then. Get past that.
Starting point is 02:31:46 If OKC right now gets to the championship, nobody's going to say, oh, damn, y'all had a chance to win. But get past that. That was a long time ago. That was a long time ago. Since he's been playing
Starting point is 02:31:55 like Russell Westbrook, what team has he been on that's been good enough to win a championship? The Lakers. No. The Lakers. AD, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James.
Starting point is 02:32:07 That was the championship team in which Russell Westbrook wasn't allowed to be Russell Westbrook. Am I correct? Which means that he was playing another character. He was someone else. Hold on. Then you go to the Clippers where Tyrone Luce said, we just going to let Russ be Russ. Okay. What did that lead to?
Starting point is 02:32:27 Who else was on that team? Answer the question. Who else was on that team? Two other superstars. Who else was on that team? Two other superstars. Were they hurt? What did it lead to?
Starting point is 02:32:34 What other guys hurt? Why is everything on Russell Westbrook? What did it lead to? Shit, let's talk about everybody then. There's a lot of players we could talk about. No, no. We're talking about teams. James Harden, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook on the same team.
Starting point is 02:32:50 And he the only one that y'all like, man, we could do without him? All right. Now he in Denver. When he went to, so besides them going to the championship the first time, right, and they went there, were they ever in a position to ever go back again? No, in OKC. Houston, no. Washington, no.
Starting point is 02:33:11 The only team that had a chance to win a championship was October, the Lakers, 2021-2022. That was supposed to be a championship run. He played 78 games. Now, the two people that were supposed to be the number one and two option was hurt. They were hurting, dude. They did not play that year to help carry that team to a championship. The following year. Would have won a championship if they were healthy.
Starting point is 02:33:44 What was it then? Would have won a championship if they were healthy. Was it it then? Would have won a championship if they were healthy. It wasn't his fault? No, I'm just... The injury bug. But what I'm saying is, if he's supposed to add to number one and number two, I'm supposed to be the third guy to help us get to the championship, and one and two go down...
Starting point is 02:34:00 I shouldn't be traded. I shouldn't be blamed. So that was the championship. That's the only time he's ever been there, and the element was them two getting hurt. Him for the Clippers, no bueno. No bueno? Him playing for Denver?
Starting point is 02:34:12 No bueno? That wasn't an expectation? Hell no. Clippers and Staples Center. Hell no. Clippers and Staples Center. Hell no. The different Clippers seem not into it, though.
Starting point is 02:34:19 No, no, no. All I'm saying is, Russ is in Denver, and he going to play up and down. Do they think? He going to in Denver, and he's going to play up and down. He's going to play up and down. He's going to play up and down. None of us had Denver possibly winning the championship. So he's in another situation where they're not good enough to win a championship right now. No, when they got him, it put them back in the conversation.
Starting point is 02:34:40 No, it did not. For me, because it's Russell Westbrook. I have the expectations just like anybody else here today. It's Russ. It's Russ. Russ is playing with them. Oh, yeah, bring him off the bench for Murray. So do you have that expectation for every superstar?
Starting point is 02:34:55 You have that expectation for every superstar, no matter what team they are on? No. No, it has to be a different. Because you're a superstar. No. Yes, I do. If you're a superstar, you go to any team, you have the ability to be a superstar on that team.
Starting point is 02:35:09 You have an expectation. An expectation to win a championship? No, an expectation to be a superstar. He can be a superstar, but we're talking about winning championships. Yes. So he's never depending on what team you're on. He said you can go to any team.
Starting point is 02:35:22 It depends on what team you go on. So if you go on a good team, you're a superstar, guess what you're expected to do? Win a championship. Thank you very much. Depending on your team, if your team is a championship. If you're a good team. Yeah, depending on that team.
Starting point is 02:35:34 If you're a bad team, ain't no expectation. Get your numbers, hom. Get your numbers, hom. If you're a top five team in the East, yes. You've got to win. Or in the NBA, yes. If you're not a top five team in the NBA, then no. Do you not consider the Nuggets last season who finished second in the West to be a top five team?
Starting point is 02:35:47 Yes. Yes. Yes. Bringing back that roster. Yes. We expected y'all to take it to the house. You got Russell Westbrook on your team. You know what this reminds me of?
Starting point is 02:35:59 All right. Russell Westbrook is a point guard, right? Point shooting guard. Now, if he came off the bench to a Kyrie, right, and a Kyrie and a Lucas, right? He's coming off the bench to a Jason Tatum and them. I get it. But is there players in the starting five, are better than him is brown better than him is brown actually better than no no okay no so like you're lacking something you're bringing in something like it's no different than when he was with the lakers
Starting point is 02:36:40 you're putting the player above him that's not better than him, which means you're trying to trick the metrics of your team. You're trying to trick the metrics of your team by putting Kamingo on the bench but putting a weaker guy in the starting lineup. So Russell going there, is the starting five championship ready? Yes, but the benching That bench ain't good enough to carry the load. They're not It's not isn't they're not they're not beating beating Boston
Starting point is 02:37:15 That's a well-oiled machine over there Philly will barbecue that that group when it when they're all together Hmm, I guess It's just, you have to be realistic. So what's the real, being realistic is saying that Russ is cooked, right? Are they going to win
Starting point is 02:37:33 the championship? Unless everybody get hurt in the rest of the league. So does Russell Westbrook put them in playoff contention, championship contention, because he's on the team right now?
Starting point is 02:37:44 I mean, they're a playoff team no matter what. I know that. With adding him, with adding him, does it make them a championship team? No. I think they're missing, like... They're not a championship regardless. Like, as a shooting guard, would you rather have
Starting point is 02:38:00 Russell Westbrook on that team? Russell Westbrook, Buddy Hill. Russell Westbrook, Klay Thompson. For that team.brook clay Thompson for that team. I would rather I know cuz I would rather I already got a buddy healed on this team I don't need to a you don't Michael Porter jr. Stop buddy. Stop it. All right, come on man. He's a shoot it Come on, is he? He's a you shoot too much. Sometimes you only shoot my quarter junior is not like you're ready No, let's go man. Wrap this and you're six nine That's time. Oh, you're not doing a lot of things. We need you to do. Okay, Russell Westbrook come in and do what you did
Starting point is 02:38:31 Last night mr. B if we can get Russ to do that every night here are 20 you're giving up for the junior Come on, man. What are we talking about? They gave Michael Porter junior 200 million Would you rather have Buddy Hill with them? No, because they... I had KCP. You already got Buddy Hill. You got two dudes up to play no defense. You don't need that. You got at least Russell Westbrook to play some defense.
Starting point is 02:38:57 I got Clay helping the floor spread. No. Right? I don't need it like you got... They didn't play defense. That? I don't need it like you got to play defense. That's why they had KCP. They got somebody on the floor that could play some defense. And they let him go. You can't have two shooters.
Starting point is 02:39:11 They let him go. You can't have two of them. They let him go. Dad, I know playing defense has all the team. They let KCP go. Here's the problem, man. The real problem is, okay, when you're talking about spreading the floor, which Denver had before, right?
Starting point is 02:39:27 Christian, he's shooting, but he's not a shooter-shooter. He's defensive. Eric Gordon don't shoot like that. We know Russ Book don't shoot like that, right? So you got three guards and three – that shrinks the floor. We got Murray who shoot like that. And we got Michael Porter Jr. who shoot like that. We got three guys that shoot like that, three guys got Michael Porter Jr. who shoot like that.
Starting point is 02:39:47 We got three guys that shoot like that, three guys that don't. When I won a championship, I had four. Where was the fourth? Who was the fourth shooter? Was KCP over there? KCP was on the Nuggets. That's four. KCP's the shooter.
Starting point is 02:40:01 He was just sit there and spread. So I lose him, and I just add clay or I add Buddy Hill keeps my my floor open. I don't need a slasher So mr. B The theme for today is terror territory honor yourself. You've requested that we in the show now See look on your face You know you have other things you want to do that we're gonna need to discuss off-camera So we're going to call it a show for today.
