We'll get a little smoke for that. Oh, I don't. In four months? You know me, I don't be paying attention to numbers like that.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Yeah! Woo! I know what you mean. Who you think you are, Chelsea Clinton? Chelsea Clinton. And as always, if you don't watch the show on YouTube, I don't know why you don't do it. But go ahead.

Keep bringing you the show that you know and love. So before we get into the meat of the show, Gil, you know, earlier this week you were rocking a Pistons jersey. Facts.
Starting point is 00:04:36 City of Detroit, you know. New favorite team. You know. You were inspired by Detroit to change your views on the city. So we got to show some love to the D. What up, though? What up the D. What up, though? What up, though? What up, though?
Starting point is 00:04:47 They say you got to do a what up, though, every episode. Cold out there in the D. Y'all remember that song? Uh-huh. Cold. 3-1-3. 3-1-3. 3-1-3. So Detroit and Pistons fans are split 50-50 whether or not to forgive you for your misguided
Starting point is 00:05:01 slander. 50-50? Oh, that's good. 50-50? Nope. What you thought it was? 70-30? 95-5. 95-5.
Starting point is 00:05:08 But a Twitter user by the name of Trademark Taz made the following offer. If you want to come to the city, you got to check in with Big Grass Shot. So for the uninformed, here's Big Grass Shot. He don't know who I am, but they're going to be like, who is he? Nigga, my name is Big Grass Shot. I'm the only
Starting point is 00:05:23 nigga in the city look like this Oh, no beard over here, but it's a beard Oh shit I didn't even see that Man stop playing with me Big, big rasha Alright big rasha Perfect The half beard half
Starting point is 00:05:41 No beard here beard here So gear are you prepared to check in with Big Grasshopper when you go to the D? Yeah. I mean, listen, he do look serious. I mean, but he don't got no buffs. So, I don't know if, is he from like, what part of Detroit is he from? Six Mile? Because, you know, he needs buffs.
Starting point is 00:06:00 He needs his buffs on for me to take him serious, serious, you know? They said you ought to rock the buffs, okay on the show. I know they go Oh, they gave you a little show not in there cuz I know if I take him there they gonna take those Yeah, for sure. They gonna take the bus. Okay, so this bring me to a bigger question I want to ask all three y'all. Did you ever have to check in in the city during your career? We've heard stories about people having to come through Houston Checking with certain esteemed individuals out there won't say their name because I don't want to get pulled up on if I ever happen to be in the Texas area.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Yeah, when I was in Chicago, I had to check into the Peninsula. Yeah. You got to check in on time. Tell them niggas we got to check in on time. Check in had the Four Seasons a few times, Beverly Wilshire when I came to L.A. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:06:42 What you talking about? Check in at a hotel? What? I'm not a gangbanger. To go where? Where we going? Straight to the room. Straight to the fucking room. And when we go out, we don't shit on... We kind of have our own little thing and we out. We don't be hanging around. We don't be trying to shit on people when we out of town.
Starting point is 00:06:58 It be John that be fucking up the whole... But we saw Stag, he went to O'Block when he was in Chicago. He went to the hood. Those are ties though. I'm good with what you're saying. I mean, the street ties is different than just regular basketball players. Yeah, because we don't really need the street ties to move around. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:07:14 Y'all good? If you cross some steps, you cross some lines, and there's a city here and you cross that line, you on your own, my nigga. Listen, my GPS don't even go to the... I'm about to say, yeah, we're not even going there. I'm bougie. Man, mine. I don't give a shit.
Starting point is 00:07:28 My GPS, listen, to get me downtown, boy, it needs to be something cracking money-wise. Other than that, I don't leave past CityWalk. Hey, look, the gangbangers got to get sophisticated and start dressing up a little bit better to get into these nice spots. I don't know. I don't go to Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Like, shit it. Where'd you invite me? Thousand Oaks. Thousand Oaks? I can do Thousand Oaks. I can go that way. Yeah, that way. That way my GPS don't know nothing about that.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Thousand Oaks? It's just a danger, danger, danger. Oh, shit. Let me turn around. I don't even like going to damn LAX, bro. Burbank. I leave that to Burbank. I'm about to say Burbank.
Starting point is 00:08:05 LAX is a push. Somebody pick you up from LAX or drop you off, they love you. They love you. Burbank for the uninformed. If you ever come through LA, you can get the flight to Burbank. Much more relaxed. Security's cool. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:08:19 You know, five minutes through security, you get five minutes through security. They definitely not going to lose your back. Yeah. Definitely not going to lose your back. Hey, that's mine, player. Right there. You can watch the shit the whole way into the play. So were you ever nervous to go out in the city, like, when doing your career?
Starting point is 00:08:35 No, not really, because, I mean, what, are they going to steal my credit card? They're going to jack me for my credit card? Like, I'm not going to have jewelry and chains on and all that walking through the club so it's like what are you gonna take? Oh my, here's my credit card. Even if I do have a chain I'm gonna have it insured for more than what I bought it for. So if I have a $50,000 chain on and I have it insured for $200, I hope you steal it. Give me that chain. You ain't even gotta do all that.
Starting point is 00:09:06 You ain't gotta do all that. Hold on, just, anybody watching? Y'all watching this, right? He wants my chain. Just so I have witnesses, you know, I'm just calling the police. So look, I'm gonna give you about 30 minutes. You go, go on, go on.
Starting point is 00:09:17 I'll make the call in a second. I want that 200. Shit, I want the 200 from insurance. There was two cities they told motherfuckers not to fuck around in Philly, Chicago What is Chicago? Chicago is it that don't don't don't don't I have a dog. I went with the right. I went with world-wide I know you go. We'll buy the world by the half 30 30 got another say yeah 30 niggas with and it was cracking
Starting point is 00:09:41 It was crack. He said you good Ph. That's what's up like earlier was like Houston Houston. Yeah, it was Houston. It wasn't Detroit with trick trick Nah, it was it was but nobody really went out in Detroit like that Houston because it was a big strip club city. They were like do not leave with any of the women and if you do like tell like Downstairs of security do not put your days of the women, and if you do tell the downstairs security, do not put your, they was like, put your jewelry inside your locked box,
Starting point is 00:10:08 because if you fall asleep, they gonna steal it, they gonna rob. That was Memphis, for real. Yeah, they were really good. That was Memphis. Because I guess, because the flood, Katrina, all the New Orleans people was there, so it became more of a hotline.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Oh yeah, during that time, for sure. 100%. And Brandon, the chat wants to know if you're hosting a Bible study after the show today. I do believe that time, for sure. 100%. And Brandon, the chat wants to know if you're hosting a Bible study after the show today. I do believe in God. I can. I can.
Starting point is 00:10:29 I mean, who need a blessing? Converter, Converter. Say, you do need a blessing. So let's keep this thing moving. Don't get anointed. We got to talk about Carl Anthony Towns. Now, Cap made an appearance on Pat Bev's podcast recently, had some interesting things to say about his career career and also the Timberwolves.
Starting point is 00:10:46 I don't care how you say it. Like, it was the reason the Denver Nuggets won the championship. I didn't play them in the playoffs, bro. They was telling us our plays. They were like, all right, yo. They just, they weren't even talking. We called right to an area and the person was just randomly right there. I'm like, how is this possible?
Starting point is 00:11:02 But they also, what? What's one of the things that like you see? It was more special what we did in Minnesota because we had we had like what like a month and then we had training And it was like you better figure it all out right now and we really figured it out quick Think about they had what no he's been the leader years if you think about you oh yes, we got it done all months Okay What was more impressive, the Timberwolves playing championship or the Nuggets actual championship? Okay, see, this is what, I blame Adam Silver for this.
Starting point is 00:11:37 See, you put that play-in game in, and you got silly motherfuckers thinking they won a championship. That ain't no damn championship, bro. That's eighth spot. Yeah. Right? So you got, that's delusion right there. They think that's a real, like you get an award for becoming an eighth.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Yep. Seventh, Gil. See how he was standing on it? They were seventh? It don't matter. Seventh, eighth. I mean, seventh, eighth. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Like you're putting in these, raise the banner. See how he was standing on it though? You see how he was standing? No, that the banner. See how he was standing on it though? You see how he was standing? No, that's right. He really believes that that was an award or something. He should be getting credit for coming in seventh. So that's supposed to be better than Denver Nuggets winning the championship?
Starting point is 00:12:15 He's saying what we did was more special than what they did. This was last season when Pat Babb was on the team. They was jumping on tables. Yeah, when they beat the Clippers, right? Yeah, they celebrated like they won it, but they celebrated like they actually won the championship. That's what I'm saying. It was a big moment for Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:12:32 And this is going to happen during regular season championships. What kind of big moment? You talking about playing a championship. Huh? No, we had bigger moments. The WNBA had bigger moments than that. As soon as they start doing end season championships,
Starting point is 00:12:47 people are going to be really thinking this shit's important. Want to pop champagne and shit. Yeah. It's like we got 40 more games left. 40 more games. Sorry. We got 40.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Didn't he say some more shit after that? Yeah. Does it matter? Yeah. Does it matter? He already started it off. He said some more wild shit. No, he said when I'm done,
Starting point is 00:13:06 people are going to say I changed the game. I changed the game. He changed the game of basketball. Let's see the clip of Cass saying that. I just feel like, I'm going to put it like this. I feel like when my time's up and I retire and I put the shoes up and I say, you know what,
Starting point is 00:13:22 Pat? Me, the kids, and the wife, we're going to head out to the sunset and enjoy life. I feel like there's going to be people who are going to say that I changed the game. I'm going to be very appreciative of that. Everything's up for stipulation. You know what I like to say?
Starting point is 00:13:37 When this is all over, there's going to be kids coming up saying that they're going to be able to play a different way because I played in the NBA and did it a different way. Oh, I get it. He said his kids and his family. His kids and family. Before I let y'all comment,
Starting point is 00:13:54 Draymond Green responded to the video with the following tweet. He said, Hey, Pat Bev, when people come on your show, they change the game. I'm looking forward to it, man. So do you agree with Cat saying that he changed the game? No, he didn't say he changed the game. He said people are going to say he changed the game. People, like within the family members, his close supporters.
Starting point is 00:14:21 To be honest. Changed the channel. To be honest, I really don't even know much about him. Really? Yeah, me. I really don't know. If you tell me he has 12 All-Stars, I can't even fight you on it because I wouldn't know because I don't pay attention to him.
Starting point is 00:14:43 And that's just to be honest. Is it Minnesota or just him? Three-time All-Star selection, Gil. He hasn't done anything to stand out for, like, what position is he? Center, 4'5". Center, 4'5". Oh, actually, now 4'. He played forward next to Guber.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Stretched out his shoe. He won the three-point challenge. Changed the game. I mean, there's no dirt. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, what does he do? He's stretching it. He's stretching it.
Starting point is 00:15:10 He's letting it be known. Let it be known. But he's coming after K-Love. So it's like. He's letting it be known. Is he better than K-Love over there? Wait, when K-Love was. K-Love was averaging 20 and 20.
Starting point is 00:15:21 That's what I'm saying. Is he better than K-Love? How many all-stars did K-Love have before he went to Cleveland? Yeah, maybe. Maybe two or three. But K-Love was having, I think he had like a 30-20 game, like 30-30 game, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:36 So Kevin Love, three times. Five times. So five times all-star, but three in Minnesota. Two-time All-NBA. And shot just as many threes as you did. So he can't say he's better than K. Love. Wait a minute, hold on, change the game.
Starting point is 00:15:52 He's not even the best power forward Timberwolves. Timberwolves, period. KG. KG. Kevin Love, then him? See, this is why I hate him. A luxurious list, Gil. I hope I wasn't this delusional when I why I hate him. A luxurious list, Gil.
Starting point is 00:16:07 I hope I wasn't this delusional when I played. I'm pretty sure I was, too. You know, I think it's just when we're playing in the moment, we just think we're better than what we are. I got to be guilty of that. I played team Minnesota, so I can know why he feel that way. You couldn't tell me Nash was better than me. I can tell you that for sure. Like, nah.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Oh, no. He just got popular when he was in Phoenix. You know what I mean? Like, he had just got good? He just got popular when he was in Phoenix. You know what I mean? Like, he had just got good? He just got good. He just got good. I love you. Like, he just got good.
Starting point is 00:16:30 You just got good, homie. Like, I've been good. Like, it's like 30 years old is when you stepped on the scene in my mind. Like, you know, when you went there and you, like, I know you was like a two-time all-star from whenever you came in. But when you was 30, that's when you became a threat. Other than that, it's like, all right, just push him over or whatever, go under. It was about Dirt, Finley, and all those guys. So that's how I look at him, like, hmm. Better than KG and Kevin Lash.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Change the game? Top five center, though? Who? Or is he a top center in Timberwolves history? Is he a center or a power forward? He's or a pop? He's a little bit above both That would be what I mean Katie did both right? Oh Smith KG Kevin love ow Al Jefferson, I'll Jefferson. He better now. Oh Jefferson. He not better than now. No Al Jefferson was nice No better than now. No, Al Jefferson was nice. Not better than Al. I watched Al personally. I guess he talking about because he stretched the floor, so that just puts Kevin Love in
Starting point is 00:17:29 that category and no, Kevin Love was doing that. He said change the game. But Dirk? Change the game. Yeah, but Dirk better than him. Dirk, I mean, that's what I said. So let's talk bigger picture here. When we look just historically NBA, what we've seen in our lives, because we can't go back,
Starting point is 00:17:48 but what players have changed how NBA basketball is played, in your guys' opinion? That changed the game. The way it's played, the way it's... Yeah. Let's say somebody like Steph, right? Yeah, for sure. That's number one for me. Okay, so did Magic and Showtime change it? Right?
Starting point is 00:18:06 Jordan changed it. Shaq changed it. Shaq changed it. AI. AI changed it. I'm going to say Steve Nash, bro. The way the Suns played, bro, the way he played, it changed the guard sentiment, man, of just being a guard that can space the floor.
Starting point is 00:18:28 I can't say Steve Nash. We can say D'Antoni. D'Antoni is shit. We can say D'Antoni, but he was the perfect player to orchestrate that shit. Yeah, you can say D'Antoni small ball because it really actually tried to, it kind of forced people to go small ball to keep up with him a little bit. I even got to put you in there because the way you were scoring, I mean, I was in high
Starting point is 00:18:52 school and I was wearing your kit. So I'm like, yeah, coming down, doing that, like that's what made me come into the league. Like, you know, feeling comfortable being able to just call off a play and just shoot. Like you're the first guard I've ever seen really do that. Like call off as play and just shoot. You're the first guard I ever seen really do that. Call off as a point guard. He was the first guard to really attack niggas. Like how Westbrook was attacking niggas.
Starting point is 00:19:11 That's what his mentality was like. They ask who's the hardest person to guard, they expect you to say four other niggas. Gilbert, he don't give a fuck who in front of him. He coming at you full speed. It's dead. I had these in high. He coming at you full speed. It's dead. I had these in high school, these shoes you got on. At first, everyone was talking Iverson, and then I was like, well, they pushed Iverson to the shooting guard, so that point guard being a scoring first point guard wasn't allowed.
Starting point is 00:19:39 Mulberry was being called the ball hog and doing all this. And then somebody like Baron Davis, who could do it, he was forced to be point guard. But I was like, I'm not trying to be no shooting guard. I'm the point. So y'all just going to accept it for acceptance. So that's what turned it into today's game, which makes the scoring point guard valuable.
Starting point is 00:20:03 How do you think your game would translate to the game today? Oh, it'd be easy. It'd be easier for me because this is how my game was. You know, the three lines or the free throw, but I also had other elements that played a half-court game with posting up or the mid-range. Murray got a lot of your element, too. Murray.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Like, he takes the shots that you give him. Like Gil would take, if you gave him a two, you take the two. If you gave him space to get off his shit, you give him, like Murray kind of reminded me of that middy. I remember when somebody originally said that. I think it was Calvin Booth. He said, man, Murray reminds me of you. And I couldn't see it at first, but watching the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:20:44 like the mid-range, he's's gonna get into the seams he's gonna shoot it I just got to the free throw line a lot more yeah you think James Harden changed the game yeah he did I think for left I so sure I think for lefties for sure to like the like because the way you look at a lefties game the way he play is like it made it it like elite. Like a lefty elite. I don't think we're going to see the impact of what he did. It'd be coming in right now, actually. He did.
Starting point is 00:21:18 He did. Because of how he played, he made it look so popular to the youth, right? The ISO, boom, boom. the extra shake bacon for no reason Yep, right the extra shake of bacon for no reason Putting it to the youth now those kids are coming to the NBA that forced the NBA to run a five-out offense So now have you like they don't have plays it's just five out motion move You think it will James force trainers to train this way though because remember when James started to bop bop bop all the trainers started bringing in the extra bop bop for
Starting point is 00:21:53 you extra boom one leg step bop bop. Everybody started training that way. Now you see the youth come in it's like everybody won't we're not won't they feel like they got to have that in a bag. I got to have bop bop bop. You know what's crazy too he hit it at a good time to remember when KD went to Golden State Everybody won't we're not won't they feel like they gotta have that in a bag. I gotta have You know, it was crazy too. He hit it at a good time to remember when Katie went to go to state It kind of it kind of like it kind of pushed Steph back a little bit So so James was a nice old me that I so guy like, you know
Starting point is 00:22:16 At first it was Steph and then Katie came over there was more like alright. We watching James now. Yeah, you know This is a this is might be a pokey subject, but I know two people who didn't. Well I know one, Kareem didn't change the game. Okay. Right, as dominant as he was. I mean, no one was doing the hook shot, right? Okay. I mean, but.
Starting point is 00:22:43 No, no. Don't even try. He dominated the game. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 00:22:53 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm saying, but they changed rules to adjust it. But you're talking about like as far as the Lakers, his dominant as a Laker? No, just period. I mean, once he became an NBA player, did everyone start adapting to what he did? Was the rest of the league trying to do fucking hook shots and shit? No. But how hard is it? Y'all have all tried.
Starting point is 00:23:17 How hard is it to do a hook shot in the game at that level? But for big man, but I'm saying when you're talking about changing the game, I mean, you're changing it. And which is weird. did LeBron change the game? He didn't. He didn't. A little bit? No, I mean, it's not in a bad way, but it's like the game was already moving in a certain
Starting point is 00:23:38 way where LeBron was just in the top. He was in the top tier of the game, but he didn't change it. Is it because or just because he's just so big? Yeah, like his strength. LeBron was just in the top, he was in the top tier of the game, but he didn't change it. Is it because he's just so big that the kids can't relate to just coming down, dunking on people? If a kid can't do it, then they're not going to value it. You can't just go get a body like that, right? You just can't get hops like that.
Starting point is 00:24:01 So it's like changing the game. We might have wanted to be stronger and jump higher, but like to be like LeBron. Like we weren't doing this and we wasn't like, you know. Like when I say James Harden, it's like James Harden and Kyrie together. It was that Bob game bringing in the extra moves and the fancy play trying to be a highlight reel. Yeah. I feel like Pistol Pete had a lot to do with that too. Early on?
Starting point is 00:24:27 Pete Maravich. He didn't have enough film though. But that's for magic. That's for magic to see and magic transcended it. He was getting buckets too. I'm going to say, he was getting without the three line. He averaged 44 in college. I was trying to put him in my top five, but.
Starting point is 00:24:47 His NBA career. I thought you had forgot about him, but his NBA career wasn't that. So we're asking the chat right now, did LeBron change the game of basketball? I think when you look at just kind of this modern NBA, Steph more so than anybody, but I don't know necessarily for the better because somebody like Steph who actually works on his shot puts in that work. So many teams saw that we talked about this on the show I believe last week where other teams are we can shoot threes too because threes work more than two but it's like if you
Starting point is 00:25:13 don't got the personnel to be able to do what Steph is out there doing not going well for you. But that changes the game because now your personnel has to have three-point capability. Yeah, for sure. Like that if you look at the metric, it makes more sense if we're now moving the game towards threes more than twos because threes is more than twos. It's like, okay, that's what Antoine Walker used to tell me. Hey, bro, three more than two.
Starting point is 00:25:36 I'm shooting this shit, right? So now that we're doing that, it's like, okay, how do you make the three more entertaining and comfortable for the player, right? So now everybody that's shooting threes, they're doing it uncomfortably because it's not normal. So all the bigs got to shoot threes. All the threes that can't shoot got to shoot threes. Everybody got to shoot threes now.
Starting point is 00:25:54 But if you notice, the people who are really successful, like as many threes as Steph shoots, he does still shoot mid-range shots. Yeah. Right? He still shoots mid-range shots, right? That's the lane. Jokic, mid-range shots. He still shoots mid-range shots. Jokic, mid-range shots. Jimmy Butler, mid-range shots. DeRozan. DeRozan, Booker, KD.
Starting point is 00:26:15 KD shoots just as good as Steph, but only takes two to three threes. He's not wasting his time back there if he can get into here and shoot a closer shot, guaranteed to yep Murray, you know mid-range has a nice mid-range game. So it's like The players who really are still dominating are dominating because they still have that mid-range insider even Luca Yeah, Luke Kyrie like the players who is like you're selling something. That's not your setters like me, right? You're you sold my long threes Right. You sold my long three ball game not realizing I was averaging about six to eight points on post-ups alone
Starting point is 00:26:57 right But they're not sure that's not the they won't see the game. They want to see the game when it turn around They want to see the long shots not want to see the game. They want to see the turn around. They want to see the long shots. Not realizing I'm in the post half the time. You got to contribute that to our IQ as basketball players, right? So when you know I need to get these easy buckets compared to just putting on the show what the fans want to see, I think Luka do a lot of that. He knows they want to see the step back three, bong, bong, but during the course of the game he get to his sweet spots. let's not waste shots as players
Starting point is 00:27:28 We as players don't want to waste shots and I feel go percentage and all that shit So it's like let me just not chase these threes just cuz it feel good, but that's where the game going It's easier. It's easy to shoot a three like it. I mean you you sitting here sitting off me It's easier for me to shoot this shot than actually try to do work trying to take you up. Yep It is he's awesome. You made more lazier players. Yes. It's so crazy because that used to be a bad shot Now I mean if a guy's like his feet is inside the three-point line it's like that's not a bad like oh that's Like I'm shooting that you know back then it used to look like a bad shot. Yeah Yeah on film and it's like now it's like that's every that's a bad shot. Like, bro, I'm shooting that. Back then it used to look like a bad shot on film. Now it's like, that's every- That's a good shot, boys.
Starting point is 00:28:09 That's a good shot. Yeah, that's a good shot for the top player, not him. Not him. Not him. Not him. Not him. Not him. How many threes?
Starting point is 00:28:19 Like, Kyle Korver, right? He was a specialist. Yes. Right? Someone who's coming off curls full speed, shooting that shot, they were specialists. You're making those specialists main option players doing that. Yeah. I was going to say- JJ Redick was a great three-point shooter. He spent a lot of time in the mid-range. One,
Starting point is 00:28:42 two dribble, pulling up. Elbow. He wasn't just chucking goddamn threes. And not one of these players could beat him in a three-point contest. Because J.J. knew the IQ and the savvy of, like, they're going to run me off the three-point line. I need to have a two-pointer. Two-dribble, ah, get my shot off. But it's like the IQ of the game is falling out completely
Starting point is 00:29:03 because these coaches are not showing the mid-range game. Like this is a whole nother dynamic of your bag that you missing. So now you you just like the marketplace. There's no middle game. There's just stars and role players. You either got to lay up or a dunk or you can shoot the three. That's it. You know, we had a chance if they get hurt.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Derrick Rose. I think if Derrick Rose didn't get You know who had a chance if he didn't get hurt? Derrick Rose. I think if Derrick Rose didn't get hurt, he had a chance to like, because the way he was playing big and dunk, like he was dunking on, like he was dunking on bigs.
Starting point is 00:29:34 It's like, yo. He had that it. Yeah, he had the it. In fact, he didn't say nothing in Chicago. Like, you know, and every five minutes, you knew,
Starting point is 00:29:42 we about to lose. Yeah. So who's the closest comparison to Derrick Rose now would you say, we about to lose. Yeah. So who's the closest comparison to Derrick Rose now, would you say, in the league? Ja. Yeah. Ja. Because Ja coming down, dunking on, like, D. Rose.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Like, if you look at D. Rose in that Miami series when he split that double and dunked on a boy, man, that was different. Like, you know, like, Ja put so much pressure on having a back line because even with the back line he jumped so high. It's like D Rose mixed with Dwayne Wade mixed with like Steve Francis. Yeah. Just explode. And he knows how to get his footing and his feet to just jump any type of way, wherever you see it. He's just picking roles.
Starting point is 00:30:27 He used to come down just so low and just go right at you big. And then he had a team, too. Oh, man, they had a team. They had a great squad. So we talked about LeBron a little bit earlier. We asked to chat. Chat's basically 50-50 split. So let's not talk about necessarily LeBron's job on the court, but what about off the court
Starting point is 00:30:46 in terms of player empowerment and things like that? No, no. If we add that into the- Changing the game. Changing the game, then yes. Because now he has all these players thinking business before. We're not just hoopers. We're businessmen too.
Starting point is 00:31:02 We're going to try to get this. Like, when I was, shit, this is like 2006, 2007, when Tito's, you know, came to me with a proposal. I turned it down because I didn't think that's what players can do. Have liquor sponsors and stuff like that. If we just Gatorade, water, you know, maybe a soda. But liquor, like, oh, no, I'm good. You ain't messing up my bread. Now that's a thing, right? Once, you know, once a player of that stature says,
Starting point is 00:31:28 oh, no, I'm getting me a wine, it pushes everybody else in that category to think bigger. Is it crazy to y'all now that, like, you talk about liquor back in those days, and it would probably have been a bad look for you to do it the way that you would have been viewed by kind of the outside world, the media. Like you mentioned, these guys got tequila brands they got wine brands but also even
Starting point is 00:31:48 in this new cba they can now do work with with gaming companies sports betting companies this is stuff back in the day would have been like that's but that's just the influence of you know certain players that's coming in and and changing and showing that I'm bringing all these elements to the game. So outside of just basketball things, you know, Hublot watch. You know, I'm bringing all these elements where, you know, if Jordan was playing, it would have been the same way. I mean, people started changing and talking different because of him. Well, you look at the branding opportunities that we were presented with.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Like, imagine you do take Tito's, right? You look at Anthony Hardaway, how he was branding Lil' Penny, you know what I'm saying? We all wanted a Lil' Penny, we all wanted the piece of the branding opportunities, endorsements and all that, but back then they picked who they wanted to represent brands, right? And it didn't allow all of us to have access to Endorsement deals that were like that like Tito's and things like that, but just imagine if we did like now Like now like everybody has something that they can endorse this put money behind them and saying I here you go do that they could we'd have been so fucking lit lit for so long just because we got brands.
Starting point is 00:33:06 And we in the club. We doing our thing. We doing shit. I mean, look, champagne companies, man. But even now we're in this phase, you know, AI's got the cannabis strain. Do we feel like we'll see a push with current guys? Like, will you ever smoke that Steph Curry? Yeah, since it's legal. Since it's legal.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Smoke that 30. Smoke that 30. You'll get 30. 30 before 30. Yeah, 30 before. But that's the 30 before 30. Because he's on the way out, it's going to be hard for him to really capitalize on something like that until they really legalize it and say, you can invest in this.
Starting point is 00:33:44 So that's going to be-'s gonna be all that's gonna be like the John Moran the Jalen green that's that crew yeah oh gotta be able to like really brand yeah call it 12 well go get that 12 so two more questions for you we look at the game today you look at a guy like Joker is Joker changing the way the game is played for a big man? Yeah. For a big man? Yeah. Now you have, I think, one with coaches, they're not going to be so aggressive to say,
Starting point is 00:34:17 you have to be in the post and dominate in the post. Now those guys who are shooting jumpers and playing with the ball, it kind of gives them more freedom. So if you're a big man in high school right now and your coach be like, hey, playing the bat, but hey man, Joker just won, man. And B's out there killing, right? I can do more, right?
Starting point is 00:34:36 With the last, with Greek the Freak, Jokic, and Embiid, it should be able to tell these high school kids, like, hold on, these guys are playing like guards, too. You see how important it is to be a big man, to have all these little elements that I can add to my game? They had that argument now before they didn't. Everybody wanted a Shaq. I think we shouldn't get away from the fact, though, that those are rare exceptions, those three.
Starting point is 00:35:05 So if we put them as your entry point for big, it's going to be difficult for these bigs in the future to reach that because they are rare exception bigs. So you look at it, you say, all right, in order for you to be this caliber player, you don't need to shoot threes, you don't need to do this, just be a big. Be a fucking big. What does that mean now? Right. But if you don't have what Joker has, it's presenting an added element.
Starting point is 00:35:32 So if you got what Embiid have, but you don't got that pass element that Joker, if you did have it, it's like, oh, you're a unicorn. You're a unicorn because we don't expect nobody to have this little element which is to be able to have a soft touch pass the ball to your teammates and Ultimately, you know rebound the ball. But is that it? That's every big overseas, right? Yes Well, I mean, I think they encourage that a lot every five every I mean every five man is basically universal Right, they can pass they can dribble they can post up they can hit the mid-range They can you go back to Scola, they can post up, they can hit the mid-range. They can... You go back to Scola, Bargiani, all them
Starting point is 00:36:09 Przingis, they all stretch and pass. That was kind of the issue with American basketball, at least back in the day. You went to practice, bigs over here, guards over here. Very rarely a guard like yourself may come do some big man drills. I stayed on that. Me too. But even less rare would be, all right big man, go work on guard. Like, you know, coach used to cuss your ass out.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Yeah. If they see you even like, what you working on that for? What you doing? Yeah, what you even thinking about doing that for? So I think seeing kind of this wave of guys like KD, kind of ushered in this era now where, you know, even somebody like a Bo Bo,
Starting point is 00:36:38 who may not get the respect he deserves, but I remember Bo in high school, bringing a ball up the court as a, you know, seven footer, seven-one. It's really starting to transition. I think a lot more coaches are incorporating that now into just their practice, how they approach the game. We're not just saying, look, you big, get your back to the basket. Hey, before Jokic, right, who was dominating, what was Cousins at?
Starting point is 00:37:01 Cousins was Jokic. He was. If you look at his game, he was Jokic. I forgot about that. Sacramento. He was Jokic. Sacramento. And he could pass that thing. He moved just like Jokic. He was. If you look at his game, he was Jokic. I forgot about that. Sacramento. He was Jokic. Sacramento. And he could pass that thing. He moved just like Jokic.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm like, wait. You know, we've seen it before. That's a good one. Yeah. But I think because of the. He in Puerto Rico right now, bro. I think because of the attitude he had and that demeanor, people just kind of like glossed
Starting point is 00:37:20 over. And I'm like, wait. Isn't Cousins. Wasn't Cousins a big man? Yeah, DeMarcus Cousins was. DeMarcus Cousins was. He pulled it out. Like, he was a post-up. He was mid-range. Like, he was throwing AD lobs. Yeah. And I'm like wait isn't cousin wasn't Like he was a post up he was mid-range he like he was throwing ad law Yeah, he was bringing it up. Yeah, okay
Starting point is 00:37:39 Yeah, yeah, like 28 11 to 525 13 or 5 mean, you know, like monster five is five five is this yeah Oh, yeah, he was given a monster stat lines to grow. Okay for ad he was given You know how good Sacramento would be right now if they kept him? Him and IT. Like with that team they have? Like with Darrington Fox and them youngins? Man, if they want to turn Tyreek Evans into a shooting guard. Come on, man. Let him play.
Starting point is 00:37:57 That was the worst move they did. 20 a game, rookie year. 6'8", point guard. He had me in the 6'6", but I mean, well, he was built damn near like that. Yeah, yeah. I remember he had me in the post. I was like, oh, no, we're going to have to do something. We got the punters.
Starting point is 00:38:12 I'm not trying to guard someone bigger than me. You know who it is? Yeah. Well, let's keep this thing moving. We're going to talk a little bit about, obviously, just the playoffs this season. So, NBA Finals were slightly down from last season season despite a marquee matchup between the Nuggets and the Heat. But overall the NBA. Marquee matchup. Marquee. For the trained eye right. For non-casuals. For fans of beautiful basketball. We're trying to sell it. We warned y'all.
Starting point is 00:38:40 We were trying to tell you what was going to happen, but overall, the NBA playoffs did its thing, was the most watched in the last five years in terms of ratings. So just looking back on this postseason, what was your favorite moment from this playoffs? You got to say all of the first rounds. I mean, when when we talking about Matchups you you're talking about Especially in the West it was key matchups in the first round. I mean the first round was not safe for anybody I Mean first round you talking about Sacramento against Golden State like come on
Starting point is 00:39:25 Lakers versus Grizzlies. Like, come on. That's like, you're talking about first-round matchups that's like, that wasn't lopsided. You're talking about, we don't know who's going to win this series. Like, that's sad Golden State. And even Heat Bucks, but sad Golden State. You know what I mean? But like, probably one of my favorite playoff series.
Starting point is 00:39:42 What was the question again? Just a favorite moment from the playoffs. I'm just the whole first round for me. Game seven. Game seven, Golden State. Golden State and Sacramento. That was one of my favorite games. The 50 piece.
Starting point is 00:39:55 Of course, he had the tough crowd on. Salute. And then when they lost in game six to the Lakers. Beautiful moment. Salute again. He had tough crowd on. Salute, you know. Beautiful moment for the city. You know. You know. No salute again. He had a tough crowd on. Salute, you know.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Beautiful moment for the series. You know. You know. You know, but he did his thing. A lot of dogs. Okay, so Freedom said the best moment was when the Lakers got their ass swept up under the goddamn motherfucking table. Hey, if that wasn't the greatest moment of the whole fight.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Yeah, freedom say yeah, talk that shit. Look, it's embarrassing. It's goddamn embarrassing. Y'all wasn't even thinking about that being the best moment? The Lakers really wasn't supposed to be there though. No, my moment is the 13th seed what the lake only one supposed to be there though No, my moment is the 13th seed the Lakers was the Lakers was really one game bro came close to Mercy Say you niggas ain't gonna get mail not a game
Starting point is 00:41:01 They couldn't get a gentleman sweep now Watch out. Austin, I am Hume Reeves. Nah, the most important, the most memorable was when we got to see everybody's first round. Because we was talking about it. Like, who are we going to watch? Who do we want to watch? So, what, was it the Miami and Milwaukee first round, right?
Starting point is 00:41:27 What, Lakers and Memphis, yes what Lakers in Memphis right Lakers in Memphis right yes Sacramento and Golden State we all picked the good first round we had Cavs, New York. Cavs and New York. That first round, man, that was probably the best first round list. That's why I said, just watch it. Oh, this is going to be some good shit right here. Then it turned down right after that, after the first round. On the East.
Starting point is 00:42:03 On the East. It turned down on the East. But even the Dylan Brooks stuff, which was dominating headlines, poking the bear. Let's talk about the good. You want to talk about the sweeps, but they helped- That was the good. The sweep was good. They helped elevate the Nuggets to greatness.
Starting point is 00:42:15 So the Lakers deserve, they should have the parade. Sweep was the best thing to happen to the NBA. But of course it was the best for you because you had them out. They wasn't going to make the play-in game. You had them out first round. You had them out. They wasn't going to make the play in game, right? You had them out first round. You had them out second round. So of course for you it was great because they finally got out. Or anybody else that don't like the Lakers. Everybody who don't like the Lakers, we had a celebration.
Starting point is 00:42:37 It took you three rounds to get that done. Yeah, you right. You motherfuckers have survived. Wait, you don't like the Lakers? Huh? So you're not a Laker fan? You don't like the Lakers at all? So you're not a Laker fan? Like, you don't like the Lakers at all? No one knows. You'll go with the Clippers? We don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:48 You fuck the Lakers, huh? I already told y'all why I don't fuck with the Lakers right now. Oh, okay. LeBron brung his ass over here fucking up my man Legacy. He done fucked up the Lakers. What? He's a Kobe fan. Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:00 He elevated and heightened Kobe's legacy. Brung this fucking bullshit. Brung that championship mentality. Brung this bullshit ass bubble shit over here. And the motherfucker sitting around here dancing about this bubble shit. So you hate Boston? Yeah, I hate Boston. Well, then LeBron gave us a championship that tied it.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Right? That's a tie. That was a tie championship. Yeah, but. That was the tie. That was the tie. It's LeBron's fault again. LeBron, we tied it. It's LeBron's fault. We not behind Boston no more. It's LeBron's fault again runs for again LeBron. We tied it LeBron's we not
Starting point is 00:43:29 Because we're another chip we not behind them anymore LeBron did that shit 16 championships are crazy. I know so we're here LeBron again There's been a ton of talk amongst Lakers nation and people saying whether or not LeBron deserves a statue. Y'all know I'm a lifelong LeBron fan. I don't think he deserves a statue in front of Staples. Cleveland, Miami, or if you want to be real, give him a statue in front of every arena. I'll say Cleveland for sure.
Starting point is 00:43:57 I'll say Cleveland for sure. Cleveland for sure, jersey retired. They should have then had one in Cleveland already. And get his jersey retired up in Miami. But I'm saying statue. Well, shit, they got to give Dwyane Wade one first. Yeah. Yeah, I mean I'm not saying the order or where, you know. There's obviously a line of people, but there's been talk, does LeBron deserve a Laker statue?
Starting point is 00:44:13 I just don't think. A Laker statue? I don't. If he get a Laker statue, he got to put his statue. I wouldn't really care. I mean, I wouldn't really care. I don't. Every team gives him a statue.
Starting point is 00:44:21 There's nothing wrong with that. No, what I'm saying, it's one of those things where, like, you didn't do enough in the Laker uniform for a Laker statue to be built. Like, I mean, that's going to be the argument. Like, it's your resume in that city. Same thing with Miami. You have Dwayne Wade after him with Alonzo Mourning? Tim Hardaway.
Starting point is 00:44:47 Tim Hardaway. You don't think Bron goes ahead of Alonzo? Yeah, Bron goes ahead of Alonzo for sure. Why? Two-time MVP, two-time Finals MVP, three rings here. I mean, did Alonzo even play in another uniform? He's Charlotte first. I mean, Charlotte then there, then I mean Haslam.
Starting point is 00:45:03 But two trips. Haslam. Is it trips. Haslam. Is it longevity or is it accomplishments? I mean, we're talking about as an organization, right? Part of the culture. Yeah, I mean, his impact in Miami was crazy, though. I know. It was quick and- But he quit on them, too.
Starting point is 00:45:20 That was a four years. No, no. He quit on them, too. No, I just came here and got my- He quit on them, too in a bouncing because I'm going back home. I came here to learn law I came here to learn how don't leave us on a loss. I can't learn how to leave us You said you're gonna get us seven championships. I know that was impossible, but you said it no Bring up the clear promote on the stage is gonna get was going to give us- He said seven? Seven. Oh no, he said one, two, three, four, five.
Starting point is 00:45:46 You know what I'm saying? He was in his bag. Don't leave us when we lost. He was in his bag. Don't want to hear that shit. Then you left them because you lost. He was 21 Savage? Then you left them.
Starting point is 00:45:54 I got one, two, three, four. 21 Savage out there. Oh no, I'm not- He was the first one to listen to 21 Savage. He was going to be a star. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him the statue of the 21 Savage. Give him three, four. 21 Savage out there. He was the first one to listen to 21 Savage. Give him the statue in motherfucking Cleveland. Let's go. I mean, I don't know why it's taking so long. Yeah, they should have been there.
Starting point is 00:46:16 I don't know what's taking so long for LeBron to get a statue right now. There's some things that, yeah, it's like. Wait, wait, does Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have a statue? Active player. I mean, they got to wait for him. Where's Kareem's statue? Michael Jordan was active player. Kareem got one in Staples, a statue? Active player. I mean, they got away for him. Where's Kareem's statue? Michael Jordan was an active player. Kareem got one in Staples, unless I'm smoking crack.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Yeah, I think so. Michael Jordan was an active player, and he played and won three more rings with a ring. Look, you're telling me LeBron James can't get that in this era? 100%. The most points scored ever. Like Cleveland should be trying to do it now. Cleveland, do your thing, man. Do your thing.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Like what? Leave that shit away from Staples. Are you going to put a your thing, man. Do your thing. Like what? Leave that shit away from Staples. Are you going to put a statue of a man that's not even on your team? Yes. I'm just asking. Yes, because when LeBron left, you see the percentage in the city that was going? They was making so much. Man, they made so much money.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Man, they owe him. Yeah, they got it. They owe him. I mean, Jordan got it while he was still playing. You know, you get to walk, shine a little. Come on, man. So we talked Mello Joker jersey retirement. You think Brian gets his jersey retired by the Lakers?
Starting point is 00:47:09 Did he do enough to do that? Yeah. What number? 23 or 3? No, 23 or 6? When did he win the championship, man? No, he decided in 23. When did he get the asterisk?
Starting point is 00:47:22 What? 23? No, it's 23. Yeah. Championship was in 23. Okay. It's because he started with no, he decided 23. When did he get the asterisk? What? 23? No, it's 23. Yeah. Championship was in 23. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Because he started with 23, won a championship, then went six, six, and then three. 23. Okay. Because he's 23 right now, right? No, he's six. Six. Oh, he's number six now. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Bro. So he did decide in the... You see, you already got us confused. Nigga, change teams. I'm a casual, dude. I'm a casual. You a casual LeBron fan now? He's number six. He'm a regular. I'm a casual Number six He's six now. Well, I mean one is he
Starting point is 00:47:52 Well, technically technically he can't get six retired there's no championship on the sick. Can you get 23 retired? You only got one chain only got one season It's retired up in Miami Yeah He only got one season. He can get six retired up in Miami. Yeah. Six retired in Miami for sure. He don't have no... So can he get the 23 with the hardest championship in NBA history in the bubble? No home court advantage.
Starting point is 00:48:14 He's going to have to put a bubble over that jersey up there. So he can put the jersey in a bubble? Yeah, he's got to put the jersey in a bubble because it's got COVID on it. Bubble boy. Yeah. Your stats have to match it in that uniform because it's a bubble boy. Your stats have to match it in that uniform in that city. Yeah. Like when he was talking about Kobe's two jerseys, they had to put the stats on both
Starting point is 00:48:35 and we're like, yeah, both Hall of Famers. Yeah, they're both. Yeah. Nobody else can. Nobody else can do that. That's legendary. Why might be the first to have three jerseys retired? Brian? Brian might be the first to have three jerseys retired. No.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Bron might be the first to have three jerseys retired. 23? He could be. In Cleveland. He could be. Six in Miami and then the Lakers. They ain't getting no Lakers. Man, he got to.
Starting point is 00:48:55 If they get it. Because he broke the record in the jersey. He broke the record in the jersey. In the jersey. He has to. That's why. He got a whole three. That's why I'm like, it's got a whole point fucking up my man's shit all right just bringing your accolade stories over here fucking up the story just because of
Starting point is 00:49:10 who he is they got to elevate but that's the problem like Kobe was winning I just can't retire your jersey because you because of who you are you want were you that person here though yes you won a ring and I got the and I got the record here. Like, I heard Snoop. Snoop said he put top Lakers ever. And he put Wilt here. How? He said, yeah, Wilt had 100. Not
Starting point is 00:49:36 in this uniform. That's Philadelphia. We got him. He was old here. Yeah, but I'm not feeling like... Old. Still turning up. But I'm saying it was old Wilt here. But he was still breaking them numbers. But what I'm saying, the concept of what he was thinking about was a whole nother dude. The one we got here is-
Starting point is 00:49:54 Yeah, Snoop's the greatest, but I'm not listening to any rappers talking about like- No, he's a fan favorite. I know he's a fan. Snoop's the top five ever out of LA. Probably the best rapper ever, but I'm just cool on the rappers talking about who. Because they would do that when we talk about rap. They biased. I wouldn't listen to what you're talking about on the rap.
Starting point is 00:50:15 I don't care about your top five. They'll do that to us. But they do care because they want to be us. All right, so let me just read the Wilt stats for you. Here. Wilt in his career, 30.23 rebounds a game. Wilt has a Laker, 19 rebounds, 17 points, 4.3 assists in 339 games. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Hmm. He was getting it in, at least 8,000 of that 20,000. I'm telling you, bro, Ron is going to be the first player with three jerseys retired, and he might get two statues. They might give him one in Miami. I'm telling you. Nah.
Starting point is 00:50:53 No, Miami don't look like a statue type. Nah. Well, they need to do something. Listen, Miami ain't going to win another ring until they start doing it. They can't put a statue in L.A. Huh? They can't put one in L.A. Yeah, that's fine. Them Kobe fans ain't playing that shit. That's one thing they're they start doing the way he's expected. I know they can't put a statue in LA. Huh? They can't put one in LA. Yeah, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:51:06 Them Kobe fans ain't playing that shit. That's one thing they not doing. No, that's fine. That's fine. He wearing Laker uniform, but the Kobe fans ain't. What would he need to do to be statue eligible? Excuse me. I'm out of here.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Win another ring? Fold ring? One, maybe three. Fold ring. You think one is? Two. I give him two. Just win one more. Two, give him a statue. No, no, two. Just win two. Just win one more.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Two, give him a statue. No, no, no. Just two rings. No. Yes, at 39? How many statues we got right now? Up there. Three.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Kareem, Magic, Shaq. Elgin. Elgin Baylor. They put Elgin Baylor? What? Elgin's up there. Why? How many statues?
Starting point is 00:51:41 Elgin Baylor was that dude. How many championships did Elgin Baylor got? Let me check. I know he's- Well, man, where's James Worth- I think he could've got the one. I think he retired the year that they won. That one, I want to say in 72 or whatever it was.
Starting point is 00:51:55 They got James Worth. They kind of got James fucked up, huh? They got James Worth fucked up. He retired before that championship year because of the janky body, but- Because I mean, with the real ones, they got four championships, four or five championships. They need to put Phil Jackson out there They got The whole band out there to be statue all over the That's a clipper shit man, know what I mean? People travel the world.
Starting point is 00:52:45 See, I do that shit over here, man. People travel the world to take pictures. Bam! They travel the world to take pictures. They got Ron Harper. Do that over there. They travel the world to take pictures. Anybody who said, I love the Clippers, just put him a statue, okay?
Starting point is 00:52:58 So statues at crypto right now are Magic, Wayne Gretzky, Shaq, Kareem, Elgin Baylor, Luke Robitaille, Oscar De La Hoya, andgin Baylor Lou Robitaille Oscar de la Hoya in the shaker Oscar de la Hoya Wait, because we asked you brought motherfucking boxing fans to the Staples Center. It ain't about the Lakers shit. That was Staples Center I was and Wayne Gretzky was the same with the LA No, for sure. I mean, they- That's a wire cut! That's why they out there for staple culture, not LA. Well, Kayla Swift need to be out there too. See?
Starting point is 00:53:28 I mean, she got a statue. What we talking about? Real shit. She got a statue. Real shit. Real shit. Bullshit. Bullshit.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Real shit. When they built the Staples Center, what did they build it for? Who's coming, Barrett? Lisa Lester's getting a statue, too. Okay. When they built the Staples Center, what was the reason it was built for? It was built for basketball, right? Yes. And turning up.
Starting point is 00:53:53 No, it was built for basketball. That means everything else was secondary. That means any other sport that came in that building, it was not built for you, so your stats don't count Sorry, Wayne Gretzky you can we can build that. Where you from? Don't do that to Wayne. Don't do that to Wayne What do you do for this? Don't do that. I love that shit. How about you say that this built the building was built for purple and gold Can you say it was built for purple and gold? Do you know what Wayne Gretzky did?
Starting point is 00:54:22 Then he should have had his own fucking arena to do that shit in front of. They're saying, in fairness, that King's colors used to be purple and gold, too. Way back in the day. Wayne Gretzky, they need to be hearing me out there with that stick. Listen, all I'm saying is, listen. All I'm saying is, just because your team was broke as fuck,
Starting point is 00:54:36 and y'all had to come up in our arena. Your disrespect, Ken. What I'm saying is, listen, every sport should have their own fucking arena. So the Kings get the fuck out of our arena and go get your own shit, right? Build your own statue, have your own legacy. Go back to the LA Coliseum. Now think about this shit right here.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Let's say the Clippers won a championship and wanted to put a fucking statue out in front of Staples Center. Yeah, no, that's crazy. Marcus Johnson statue. Yeah, no, I ain't going crazy. Even if this is your father, you see how fucking bullshit that is? He would say no.
Starting point is 00:55:09 What the fuck's wrong with you? I'm going to be honest with you. If a Clipper statue go out there, that shit going to get tagged. And they might take that motherfucker. Depending on who the Clipper is. No, no, it don't matter who it is. No, if a Clipper statue got outside,
Starting point is 00:55:22 they taking that shit off. What Clipper would you put up there right now? It don't matter. Clipper Darryl? Who could get a Clipper Darryl out there like this? They gonna let that statue live. That statue won't be one of the best statues. That's the only real Clipper that's been a Clipper for.
Starting point is 00:55:37 There you go. But that's what I'm saying. It's like, this arena was built for basketball. So just because they put every sport in it don't mean every sport gets acknowledged in this building Not outside the building. Are you tearing the Oscar down gone? Why does he what do you know coke and hoes wait, hold on wait, okay Okay, what I'm saying is is he did he do every fight here?
Starting point is 00:55:59 No, the big fight Taylor Swift got me right Taylor Swift sold it out more than he did He had all these like so if he built Golden Boy MGM support Floyd and all the Staples was Oscars MGM was Floyd Was it May 5th? Single day my he did a fight here for the Hispanic culture?
Starting point is 00:56:25 I get that. But a statue in a basketball arena built for basketball. You must have had a lot of Mexicans at the motherfucking fight. For sure. If you got a statue out here at a basketball arena. Okay, so Jay-Z gets a statue outside of the Knicks. The Barclays? Because he sold it out every time he did it.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Oh, Madison Square. I mean, he should get a banner. Give him a banner. Something. You see what Staples did? That's bullshit. Listen, they need to put Staples Center need to put Taylor Swift out there. With a mic and just have her just boom, boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:56:59 The BET Awards. Now the BET Awards should have a Staples Center because they do all the events there. They do it across the street. No, events there. No, no, don't do that. They do it across the street at the live. No, don't do that, man. They do it across the street. That's what I'm saying. Jay-Z could be like, yeah, I won all my awards at the Staples Center for the BET Awards,
Starting point is 00:57:14 so shit. Chris Brown, I did my performance out there, had everybody crying. Where my sta- No, no, no. Y'all done watered down the Staples Center. It should be only a few people there. It's called the crypto now. No, it's the Staples Center Colby be only a few people to call the crypto now No, it's a paper center. Come about the great. It's called the graveyard. That's the Staples Center us No, but Taylor Swift he got she got a she got a banner presented by Kobe
Starting point is 00:57:37 So she needs a statue out there by who by Kobe. She came in his house Huh? She came and hit she's a guest. Okay. Just like everybody else. That's why LeBron can't get no goddamn statue, because Kobe gone. He ain't even getting out. Why? We ain't handing out no tattoos. Why?
Starting point is 00:57:53 We got- Kareem just passed the torch. We got, listen. Shit. We got Kobe. We got Kareem. Magic. We got Magic, right?
Starting point is 00:58:01 And Shaq. Shaq. Shaq. Shaq. Shaq. Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. Shaq, Shaq, Shaq. I wouldn't even mind Kurt Rambis. For what?
Starting point is 00:58:25 Oscar De La Hoya! Kurt Rambis? Where is he from? So what about James Worthy? James Worthy ain't good enough? No, East LA, Gil, come on. Then put him down in East LA where he from. Put him in the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Put him in the street, De La Hoya street, and then have the statue in the front. Yeah, I'm about to say, yeah. Come on. James Worthy? Come on, man, these people got home. Where is Taylor Swift from? James Worthy is a- James Worthy needs to be up there.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Where is Taylor Swift from? Somewhere not here. You sick. Go to her street. Go to her street. Go to her street. Go to her street. Go to her street. I'm gonna say yeah. Come on. James Worthy? Come on man, these people got home. Where's Taylor Swift from? James Worthy is a- James Worthy needs to be up there. Where is Taylor Swift from? Somewhere not here.
Starting point is 00:58:49 You see it. Go to her street. You see it, Kurt. Put it in her hometown. Is she from Kentucky? No, there's a part of the highway that says, welcome to Kentucky. The shit should be right there. Pennsylvania.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Pennsylvania. There's part of the road, but welcome to Pennsylvania. Boom, statue. Yo, does AI deserve a statue in Philly? Huh? Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania. There's part of the road, but welcome to Pennsylvania. Boom. Statue. Yo, does AI deserve a statue in Philly? Huh? Does AI deserve a statue in Philly? Yes.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Him. And that's it. Chuck? Charles Barkley? I'll put Charles Barkley in Phoenix. And Drew Zervin. Drew Zervin. I'll put Charles Barkley in Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:59:21 And Dr. J. Yeah, yeah. If you ain't going to Chuck AI and dr. J Yeah, I have the statue in Philly according to our expert you do in the arena. See that's that bullshit. Wait, what? Yeah, but where's the statue where's the step more use that more of a sculpture than a statue I think it deserves dollar wild wise Alright, let's talk about Nuggets looking to repeat this year. I keep this thing movie. I'll look at it. We still got to get to our point
Starting point is 00:59:56 I'm gonna championship I'd have built my own And I'm a retirement jersey I appreciate I don't need y'all help. Nah, dead ass. And I'm going to retire my own jersey. I appreciate it. Fuck out of here. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 01:00:10 I ain't waiting. We can go 50-50 on it. I ain't waiting. I was like, high school, you just retire by taking this shit. Nobody else will wear it. Not turning this shit back in at the end of the season. Nobody else will wear this number. You know at Oak Hill, we don't get our jerseys retired in high school.
Starting point is 01:00:20 You don't retire no jerseys. What's the actual school like at Oak Hill Like what's the biggest school 120 kids? Yes, 120 kids I graduated with 20 kids in my in the senior year so six to a class five to a class So you get a lot of attention. Oh, that's good. Even though I got all that attention. I still can pass the SAT Culturally biased, Brandon. Yeah, you know. Culturally biased. I fell asleep.
Starting point is 01:00:47 I'm like, fuck this. But five kids in a class. I mean, you got to go to class every day. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, because you live on campus. So it's a college. It's like a college campus.
Starting point is 01:00:54 So you live on campus. The basketball team, they stay in their arm dorm away from everybody. Because when we leave, people used to try to sell our gear and come in our rooms and stuff like that. But no, it's cool, though. I mean, see, you just live on campus. You got to learn how to wash your clothes. You got to just, you know, grow up.
Starting point is 01:01:09 Being an adult. Like being an adult. So it's like if you want to focus on basketball and just get to it, that's the best place for you. Because no distractions. I mean, you know, you're away from everything. But it's just like, man, those two years. If I don't leave Dominguez and go to Oak Hill, I don't become who I am. Okay. Okay. Okay. I was always curious. Iuez and go to Oak Hill, I don't become who I am. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:01:26 I was always curious. I was watching Brian versus Oak Hill just randomly on YouTube the other night when Marcus Williams was there killing like that. No, it's tough. I mean, you get all the Jordans, you get everything you want. You're going to get all the gear. And, you know, we don't play for state. So if we lose one game, if we don't win national championships,
Starting point is 01:01:43 we don't get nothing. For sure. We don't play for state or nothing. But y'all don't play championships, national championships, we don't get nothing. For sure. We don't play for state or nothing because we'll win it every year. But y'all don't play for state. Y'all play for nationals, right? Yeah, just nationals. See, California don't get to play for nationals. Yeah, so we don't play for state.
Starting point is 01:01:54 Because, you know, we'll win it every year. But you can play, I mean, if you're the number one team, like Dominguez with Tyson and that crew won the nationals. They don't do that no more. Yeah, but they won it. Yeah, yeah, in 99, 2000. Yeah, they don't do nationals anymore for California. You just, state championships, that no more. Yeah, but they won it. Yeah, yeah. In 99, 2000. They don't do nationals anymore for California. You just state championships.
Starting point is 01:02:09 I just think if you went out or whatever it is. Yeah, but if you're a top team, you don't get invited to like the national championship. No. California don't do that anymore. Oh, wow. That's weak. That's shit. Because the girls, our girls won state championship and that's it.
Starting point is 01:02:23 Wow. Let's talk about another championship. Nuggets, you know, looking to repeat this year. Mike Malone, I heard talking big shit. I'm sure everybody saw he was on Pat McAfee's show trying to clown LeBron. He took that Jimmy Butler coffee cup and... Just clowning. Very petty gentleman.
Starting point is 01:02:42 Most pettiest white man in the NBA right now. But who's the biggest threat to the Nuggets repeating next season? As of right now, no one. No, for real. No, for real.
Starting point is 01:02:55 No one. I mean, we got to wait until like trades or, you know, anything happens. Free agency. As of right now, the way the rosters are,
Starting point is 01:03:02 nobody. They should fear they're fine in the West. They should fear no one. How many free agents they got? I don't even know. One? Gordon, maybe?
Starting point is 01:03:16 They got one free agent? They're the only team that's... Chris Paul, we don't know what's going to happen with him. Kyrie, we don't know what's going on with him. We don't know where he's at. The Lakers, they got to get 52 new guys. We don't know what's going to happen with him. Right? Kyrie, we don't know what's going on with him. So we don't know where he's at. The Lakers, they got to get 52 new guys. We don't know what's going on. Their core of Ishmith, Jeff Green, DeAndre Jordan, all free agents, Thomas, Brian, Reggie, Jackson.
Starting point is 01:03:34 The bench. But that's one of those situations now where they probably won't resign a lot of those guys, but they'll become a desirable location for free agents out there trying to ring Chase. No, but that part of their roster makes them tough outside of the MP, Michael Porter and... But they got Joker, Jamal Murray, MPJ, Aaron Gordon, KCP, Bruce Brown got a player option. That's it. No, another Brown.
Starting point is 01:03:57 And then Christian Brown. That's it. The top seven. The only seven they play. So if you take everybody else... I'm just saying, you got Peyton Watson who will look to fill the role of one of these guys that they end up dipping.
Starting point is 01:04:07 So the guys that left, if they actually get guys better than those guys, it keeps them number one. For sure. But I think that'll become the spot. They didn't use those guys.
Starting point is 01:04:16 But they were available. Jeff Green was available. DeAndre Jordan was available. It still kept them ahead of everybody else. Yeah. But now to become one of those spots
Starting point is 01:04:24 for guys who want to ring chase older dudes, hey, I'll come cut you a deal just to get on this squad, play with you. I feel like they're going to have to go and- Like Philly, like this is at Philly, you don't know what they're going to do with James. I mean, the only two teams that's like, we know that their core is going to be back is Bucs and Denver. Bucs and Denver and Miami.
Starting point is 01:04:43 Yeah. What about a healthy footed LeBron in the Lakers squad, but we don't know what we don't know We don't know what's happening with Reeves and they don't We don't know that but that's really the Rui or come there or not. We're not coming back Well, they gonna offer Reeves 80 now Reeves coming back. I saw Reeves signature shoe So they just gave him a- And he's with Taylor Swift? He with Taylor Swift? Who is? That was a rumor.
Starting point is 01:05:07 Who is? It was fake. I'm about to say, he's crazy. By the way, Oscar De La Hoya is from East LA. Yeah, that's where his statue should be. What I'm saying is you're not practicing your fights in here every single day, right? So they should have a gym, like his own gym and just have a statue out there. Mayweather got his own gym.
Starting point is 01:05:27 If he gets retired, retire your gym right outside this goddamn boxing gym. That's what I'm saying. How is just outsiders allowed to come in here and just set up shop? But he's from East LA. You know what? Since Oscar has won, I have a record against the Lakers. The Lakers. 60.
Starting point is 01:05:44 You know, as opponent, put my shit up there you can make it small you can make it You put a little bobblehead up at this point. See y'all just doing it just to do shit We're gonna take that bobblehead upstairs. We'll get that shit bronze put it next to Kobe put it right next to Kobe Just like at the foot Kobe's old body just like like I'm a little dude He's just like, you know, hold him like I'm a Heisman trophy just down there. Like, shit, he's just putting everybody up, just. Give Reggie Bush back his Heisman trophy.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Just have to put that out there. He should just steal that shit. But, so we talked, you said. I don't know how they got it back in the first place. What do you mean? How you get it from them? Because they took it, because they said the stuff that he did, so they had to take it. But first of all, the person who took it, he took it, right?
Starting point is 01:06:28 Vince Young took it, right? No, Vince Young won his own. So Reggie had his. SC made him give it back. But to your point, Gil, if I'm Reggie, like, nigga, I don't know where it's at. I lost it. Just like Joker did, right? I don't know where it went.
Starting point is 01:06:39 What the fuck do you mean give it back? All right. Come get it. You talked about Bucks and Nuggets being, you know, the potential finals matchup, but both healthy for next season. So Giannis and Joker are arguably the best two players in the world right now, but have some different views in terms of failure. So you might remember after the Bucks were eliminated by the Heat
Starting point is 01:06:57 in the first round, Giannis had this to say. It's a wrong question. There's no failure in sports. You know, there's good days, bad days. Some days you are able to be successful. Some days you're not. Some days no failure in sports. You know, there's good days, bad days. Some days you are able to be successful. Some days you're not. Some days it's your turn. Some days it's not your turn. And that's what sports is about.
Starting point is 01:07:12 You don't always win. Some other people's going to win. And this year somebody else is going to win. And he also said, do you get a promotion every year? I know one thing. Underdog Fantasy better give us that goddamn promotion or it's a failure. If you see how I came.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Ready, ready. I put on a sweater. I put on a sweater. Performance reviews and shit. I'm a professional. So you guys are Hooper, you all know about the performance reviews, like where they grade you on, like, oh, you're late to work too much. I love when they say, how do you think you got a grade?
Starting point is 01:07:41 A? A plus? A plus plus? Like, what we talking about? But in the working world. What you think? Well, that thing you gotta see, well, put it together, I got a B? A plus? A plus plus? Like, what are we talking about? But in the working world. Well, that thing you got a C. Well, put it together, I got a B. And that's what we're talking about. Working world, you do performance reviews and then niggas will sneak dish you because it's anonymous from people that you work with and shit, motherfuckers trying to hate on your back. But nonetheless, Underdog, I think we've served you diligently.
Starting point is 01:08:01 For those who still haven't downloaded the app go ahead download the underdog fantasy I've used promo code gills arena. They will match your first deposit up to $100 You see how many times under dog be going above and beyond I know we talked before the season We only needed one per show to per show. We come in three four five six seven eight nine Give us our bag, but after the Nuggets won their first chip in franchise history Joker had this to say about failure I think you you need if you want to be successful, you need a couple years. You need to be a bad, then you need to be the good, and then you need to figure.
Starting point is 01:08:32 Then you need to, when you're good, you need to fail. And then when you fail, you're gonna figure it out. I think the experience is something that is not what happened to you, is what you're gonna do with that what happened to you. And yes, Jamal was injured yes we we lose the first round or second round in the playoff I don't even remember who who remembers but there is a process that you need to you need to there is a step that you need to fill and it's it's a it's not a it's not there is no shortcuts. It's a journey.
Starting point is 01:09:05 And I'm glad that I'm part of this journey. So I want to ask the group, what do you think about Joker's comments on failure versus Giannis? They're both coming from the same place, right? One's acknowledging failure, the one's saying it don't exist though. But very similar take.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Well, I mean, if you listen to joker first and then yannis then it makes more sense where well they they started losing they won and for you to get back to winning you got to lose to to feel that to so that's where where yannis is he won he's been failing now he has to get back to what it takes to win again. And that's what Joker was just basically saying. A couple years we was losing. We had to feel it. We had to learn how to win.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Now that we won, for us to become this other thing, we're going to have to be chin-checked. And once we get chin-checked, then we can understand the process of getting back to the top. You have to listen to Joker first and then Giannis, and then Giannis now makes a lot more sense. Yeah, I mean, I just feel like that's how they feel. I think us as, like, Americans, like, you remember when Steph Curry and them didn't make the plan, and then he said nobody's going to see us next year,
Starting point is 01:10:21 and then he proved it. Like, I think our message is just more like, we don't fuck with losing. We're not talking about failure and steps to nothing. Once we taste the champagne or you win, that's what you expect every year. So I think that's just the difference between us Americans and the Europeans. Okay, we lost this year.
Starting point is 01:10:39 Okay, let's try to keep going. It's like, nah, us, when we win, that's all we know. We're not talking about failure or anything like that. We're 20 in a row if we can, even though try to keep going. It's like, nah, like us, like when we win, it's like that's all we know. Yeah, we won. Like, you know what I'm saying? We're not talking about failure or anything like that. We're winning 20 in a row if we can, even though it's not realistic. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:10:50 Like, yeah, our just, our mentality is just a little different when it comes to that. I think that's the thing. But when you don't win, right? The sex staff said that, and they didn't come back and win the next year. Would you consider that a failure? Like, how do you say it?
Starting point is 01:11:06 What would people say if I didn't win? Guess we'll never know. I guess we'll never know. Talk about it. Like, I guess we'll never know. Like, I mean, you know, but that's just our motor, and that's just who we are. Like, you know what I'm saying? We got the soundboard working. It's the passion behind winning.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Yeah, guess we'll never know. The passion behind winning is I want to win. Yeah, and they have passion, too. It's just different. It's just a behind winning. Yeah, guess what? The passion behind winning is I want to win. And they have passion too. It's just different. Just a different thought process. Yeah, just a different thought process. That's all. What was I talking about before?
Starting point is 01:11:32 I said, Talladega Knights. If you ain't first, you're fucking last. Like me, I don't... People can say all steps, steps, steps. Did you win? Did you hold the trophy up? Were you the last team up at the top? No. Everyone else below that lost.
Starting point is 01:11:50 Yeah. The whole year, it ain't a waste. I'm not saying you wasted time, but you fucking lost. Take the L. But just like Tyler Daganite stole, though, right? Ricky Bobby wins, and then John Peer, was that John Peor? Comes over, whoops his ass. Yup. Just to humble him.
Starting point is 01:12:09 Yeah, yeah, humble. But that's where Giannis is right now. You was on the top, you got humbled. Now he has to fight back to prove that he is... So it's more the same. If you think about how he ended it, right? He was offended. Yes. What he becomes now is we won't know until the season starts.
Starting point is 01:12:33 Yeah. He's an offended man right now. You done pissed off. You pissed him off right there with the little comments. And then you didn't put him on the defensive team. Oh, I'm tired of the disrespect.. We don't know what's about to come And that's my part too. Like if he went as this year, we're not even thinking about that interview No, like that's the interview. That's the interview that what I'm saying is if he wins it next year
Starting point is 01:12:57 Yeah, everyone needs to go back to the end. This is the this is what this team off This is what pissed him off a no MVP that right him off. Ain't no MVP. That right there, that question, and then not putting him on the defensive team. That's what he needed to taste and say, all right, he might come back like this. What's happening? I'm breaking brims now. God damn it. That's real. But it's like Gloria Clemente said, too.
Starting point is 01:13:22 Sometimes when you win, you actually lose. And sometimes when you lose, you actually win. Who's that? And sometimes when you win or lose, you actually tie. But sometimes when you tie, you actually win or lose. Gloria. Gloria Clemente. I had to go look up her last name.
Starting point is 01:13:35 She said, sell the rugs down the street. Billy Ho's old boo. I don't know. If I win, I win. If I lose, I win. Win if you tie. Depending on how much I score. The thing about winning is when you win like that,
Starting point is 01:13:48 I think people around you need to be a little bit more humble, like the organization, too. They get a little cocky. They get a little cocky. And they start doing things to where it's like you start treating people wrong or you start doing little things to where it's like you're not valuing the certain things that you were before you won. Now that you win, now you've got your nuts to the ground and now you're like, you know,
Starting point is 01:14:07 entitled to like, fuck out of here. It's like, ah, like- But you're not really doing that, but you look at Mike Malone talking big shit, and I respect it. They won. Go ahead and talk your shit, but now you're putting that target on your back, that bullseye on your back. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:14:20 The talking shit is not, it's not, it's what you do with the people who are doing behind the scenes. Yes. Like the organization, the headmas is not, it's not, it's what you do with what the people are doing behind the scenes. Okay. Like the organization, the headmasters and stuff like that. Here we go. When Bronham won a championship and they were trying to build and they were trying to, that summer, right? Katie just went to Golden State and then, you know, Cleveland was like, shit, we the
Starting point is 01:14:41 winners. They got to beat us. No. Here you go right there. You know what Yeah. No. There you go right there. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? There you go right there. It'd be that little thing to me.
Starting point is 01:14:49 We who we are. They just got KD. You got to get somebody. Nah, we good. We got LeBron. Go get Dunleavy. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:57 All right, we'll see how that works. But that's the thing. You got to, as I said, your success can't be, you got to, I won. If I want to repeat, because once I won, someone else is like, oh, no, I'm dethroning you. You got to understand that stuff is coming. You got to defend. You got to up your shit, too. Yeah, you got to defend your motherfucking ground. That's why I said a lot of teams don't know how to handle it when they first win one.
Starting point is 01:15:17 That's how you know if they winners or not. Paper champs. Like, you know what I'm saying? You just like, oh, you got that one. It's like, okay, bro. Who you talking about? The Bubble Boys. Uh-oh. What? Goddamn okay, bro. Who you talking about? The Bubble Boys. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 01:15:26 What? Goddamn paper champs. You ain't no real motherfucking champ. You come back and don't make the damn playoffs. Everyone got hurt. Give a fuck about none of that. If you don't recall, they were all right. Everybody got hurt.
Starting point is 01:15:36 It was a weird season. It was a weird season. Niggas at home. I just want to see you over here uncomfortable. We was holding the first time. I just want to see you over here uncomfortable. We were ready to go. AD got hurt.
Starting point is 01:15:44 Everybody was stuck in the house for like three months. Remember COVID? We didn't know what was going on, man. Smoking Reggie. COVID was lit for me, though. I ain't going front. I had a ball. I was in the house walking around naked every day,
Starting point is 01:15:55 me and my girl. Me and my girl. I was stuck in the house, me and my girl. Bro, pandemic, niggas over buying. Over buying toilet paper. Ain't nobody coming over. Ain't nobody going to see us. We ain't wearing clothes for five days.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Ain't nobody going to see us. Hey, listen, the funny part is, it's like I was the only one who didn't get affected from COVID because I don't leave my house. Hey, I was going outside like, man, what the hell is my mask going for? What the fuck y'all doing? I could see that.
Starting point is 01:16:23 I could see you going outside. Like, I was getting feel. I'm see you giving a blast. I was confused. I'm like, yo, what is the mask for? They was like, oh, the COVID. It does not get on your clothes? It don't get on your clothes. So when you get in your car and you take your mask off, it's not on your clothes? I'm not going to-
Starting point is 01:16:37 That's all y'all done. No, I'm not going to front. The first time, hey, yo, remember when you had to go out and go grocery shopping? How scary was you? Like you had the mask, the gloves, niggas in there, like six feet. I wasn't scared. I was confused. I was like, okay, why the fuck is all the toilet tissue gone?
Starting point is 01:16:51 Toilet paper and paper towels. And why is all the fucking shit in the pharmaceutical aisle still here? There's got to be some idiots. Man, the Febreze and the hand sanitizer, you had that, you made a killer. The funny thing is I got kids, so I was already loaded with stuff. That's what I said. What's going on? No toilet paper.
Starting point is 01:17:11 People had to make some business decisions. What the hell is wrong? Where did the toilet tissue go? Neil's talking about what the hell going on. I can tell you this. There's one thing that I did think of, right? So when everybody's talking about all this, I'm looking in the house like, all right, what do I need?
Starting point is 01:17:23 And then I was like, so if they're going gonna shut the country down. I need to survive. Okay I got all the he's having this conversation. I got all the stuff that I really need entertainment. Oh Cereal milk can't hold milk like that. That'll be the bus. I started looking powdered milk I ordered a 20 20 bags of 10 pound bags. I have powdered milk for cereal. Is it good, though? You just got to get some crackers.
Starting point is 01:17:52 I haven't tasted it. You didn't use any of that? The milk never ran out. We ain't never got no milk. Yeah, I guess crackers. Milk? Listen, we ain't never got no milk. But that's what I thought.
Starting point is 01:18:01 I thought about all the shit, because I had hundreds of boxes of cereal. Put some water in that shit, Gil. Put some water in that damn shit. But that's what I thought I thought about all the sick cuz I had hundreds of boxes of cereal Watering that damn not bags 10-pound bag of powdered milk We never ran out of milk I was fine Did you ever taste the powder? No, okay, and we never ran out of milk So I never got to use it little one gonna ask for the powder milk now Let's powder mill And we never ran out of milk, so I never got to use it. Lil' One going to ask for the powdered milk now. Can I get the powdered milk? What's powdered milk?
Starting point is 01:18:30 All right, but let's get back to this Giannis Joker conversation. So based on this season, I think it's fair to say Joker's currently the best player on the planet. Generational playoff performance, won his first chip finals MVP. Based on what we saw at his playoffs, got to ask y'all, would you rather build your franchise around a healthy honest or a healthy Joker don't ask me you already know where I'm going I mean you get you have to build around Jokic easy so you honest number two now yeah okay build it around? I mean, I'm building around the person who has the most attributes. Yeah. Right? So I can bring in a bunch of Giannis's and still survive. Where you gonna find a bunch of Giannis's? What I'm saying is a bunch of athletes. Athletic,
Starting point is 01:19:21 big, they all play a part when Jokic can shoot, pass, mid-range, post up. He can see he's unselfish. I don't need to build these, like, if I got Steph, now I got to get this type of guard. If I have a big man, I can't get this type of big man. Playing those type of games with Jokic, I can say, all right, shit, give me a shooter, give me a dive person, and from there, I don't give a fuck who you give me. He'll figure it out. I think with Joker, you could just formulate any kind of offense.
Starting point is 01:19:50 You know what I'm saying? The scheme, any kind of system that he can pass, he can post. You know what I'm saying? He can bring it up. You know what I'm saying? He could do so much for Giannis. He's a little bit more limited in a sense where if you're not playing fast-paced, the shit we were saying yesterday,
Starting point is 01:20:09 like if he's not getting the ball to the rim all the time, it's going to be more difficult. You got to depend on other players. Like Rudy Goldberg, right? If Rudy Goldberg was over in Bucks, Giannis is in trouble. Why? Because now you got both bigs sitting down there. And they both not like offensively. Yeah, but Rudy trash.
Starting point is 01:20:22 But where is he at versus where just in the way where Lopez it. Yeah, Lopez is out three. Yeah, he should so his man got to follow him. Yeah, right now. I just sit come on up in here. Well, that's gobert in adult in the dunker spot where ain't no room down there. Well, it's called it Rudy can watch out.
Starting point is 01:20:41 He's a reason for COVID. He's the reason you were dancing around in your goddamn living room nigga you supposed to be praising that When you go back and look at that clip of him touch it It's like man, bro, that is because he didn't know it was that serious. That's why how ominous of a moment that was Forwarded like games getting canceled niggas evacuating the arena. He didn't know it was this year. Donovan Mitchell had to be quarantined. Remember everybody thought Donovan Mitchell was going to die? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:09 It was like, man, it might be over. Niggas were scared. Everybody was scared. So I've got a hypothetical for y'all. How would the finals have played out if it was a healthy Bucs squad versus a healthy Nuggets squad? You already said that Bucs-Nuggets is the watch up to max next year if they're healthy. If the Bucs would have been healthy this year if they're healthy if the books would be healthy this year not got eliminated
Starting point is 01:21:26 by the heat it's a big if and buts or cookie and nuts type of question, but bucks in seven I Think that's going seven because I think it's just down the line like like like everybody good I like Denver no way in hell Denver is walking up Murray though. Yeah, I see drew locking up Mary. I see drew and Mary going at it. Like like like I think it's just a lot of good matchup. No because drew has a deal with all pick and rolls. You don't pick and roll but look drew know how to get under and over that shit. It was a good deep shot. He's a good joke. And how many pick and rolls do they do a lot just like Jimmy no different
Starting point is 01:22:03 with Jimmy but who's a better defender player? Milwaukee got better adjustments defensively than anybody else. They can literally switch that shit. Hell yeah. All of the guards can play on the perimeter and switch that shit. You know Drew is smaller than Jimmy Butler, right? A lot smaller. So he switches on the Joker.
Starting point is 01:22:20 That's just. No, I'm saying on the backside beyond that. We don't even have to switch it though. We don't even have to. First of all, Drew's getting through. Yes. And then Brooke is getting right back. Yes. So we're fine with that. Let's just know I'm saying on the backside beyond that we don't even have to switch it though. We don't even have to read about juice getting through. Yeah, and then Brooke is getting right back. Yeah, we'll find what that is can move a lot more and who's got it.
Starting point is 01:22:32 Honest air. Good luck. Yeah, good luck different matches. Good luck. I scan I got I got I got bigs at the I mean it is going to be it is going to be tougher but it's six we do it approved. I like me as it is to like kids out there against Jonathan and Chris Milton man, you it's six. We knew and approved. I like it. I mean, there's two light skins out there. Against Giannis and Chris Middleton, man, you know what time it is.
Starting point is 01:22:49 We ain't letting no light skins come in here. Yeah, I like Chris over MPJ. I like Chris over MPJ, too. Yeah, they did it. Yeah, y'all light skin. But y'all just lost to a YMCA team, okay? Giannis was hurt. I know, but I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:23:03 Stop giving him excuses. No, no, no, no, but the rest of the team lost to some. The rest of the team. Stop giving them excuses. No, no, no. Giannis Giannis was hurt. I know but I'm just giving him excuse. No, no, no, no, but but the rest of the team lost us up the rest of the time giving them back was her no no Rihanna's is out but the rest of the team but the rest of the team lost to a YMCA team the rest of the rest of the Bucks and Yana play how many games that's like how many games did he play? Who was your guard? Who was your guard? Yeah, who was your guard? Jimmy.
Starting point is 01:23:27 I mean, he had to guard every fucking body. He got torched. He had to guard everybody. He got torched. He said, 40 on your head. You're asking this guy to guard everybody. You're asking this guy to guard. That's not even who he's supposed to guard.
Starting point is 01:23:35 Yeah, it is, because he's the best defensive player out there. He's the best defensive player. How he going to stop Murray? Who? How he going to stop Murray? That's an easier matchup. It's a point guard. It's an easier matchup.
Starting point is 01:23:43 It's an easier matchup, but Jimmy couldn't do it. It's the point guard. It's the point guard. It's the point guard. It's the point guard. How you gonna stop Murray? Who? How you gonna stop Murray? That's an easier matchup. It's a point guard. It's an easier matchup. It's an easier matchup, but Jimmy couldn't do it. It's an easier matchup than Jimmy. Because Murray play around this stuff. We might want to just wait the next year.
Starting point is 01:23:56 Oh, I can't wait the next year. I'm talking my shit next year. My Detroit Pistons is going to be on fire. Who? Detroit Pistons. Miami Heat. Dame Lillard. That's fine. Going back.
Starting point is 01:24:08 Back to back. Back. Not even now. I mean, but you look at the Heat. Dame, Beal. If they could pull off one of these moves, even Harden, as we've talked about, even though Heat fans are not rolling, Harden might make the most interest because he's a free agent and they can maneuver a little better.
Starting point is 01:24:24 But if they could get one of those three. I heard Milwaukee might get bill. I saw it on my Twitter Who said that yesterday to move? In Miami are now the building. I heard Bill in Milwaukee when they get rid of Middleton With the trade clause. But, you know, Bill and Milwaukee, let's go. Middleton's got a $40.4 million player option. I would have to imagine that he... Him and Grayson Allen can go.
Starting point is 01:24:55 Fuck that. Keep them both. Keep Bill and Middleton. No, you can't do that. You can't. You can't do that. How you going to do it? Who you giving up?
Starting point is 01:25:02 Who you giving up? Do you not know you have to give up somebody? You said Brooke? Hell no. Hell no. We can't give up Brooke. Then you didn't make what is getting better and better Get rid of Brooke Portis and Allen. I'm not No way in hell Milwaukee Bobby Porter's Bobby Porter's is a fan favorite. You can't Listen the Milwaukee fans will be up there like what y'all doing? We got Bradley bill That's what we doing. No, we can get rid of Chris Middleton Grayson Allen and a first-round pick
Starting point is 01:25:30 I'll do that and I get to keep up and got to agree to it. Why cuz you got player option So unless he unless he takes the option He could do what he wants drew Bill Middleton and Giannis. Oh No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, it's drew bill Oh, yeah, I'm gonna play the five now six seven six eight. No, it's drew bill Giannis. That's small You can't place Bobby. But it's drew Bill You can't place Bobby. But is drew Bill
Starting point is 01:26:05 Giannis, I'm putting on us at the three Bobby Bobby and Brooke we right back these head right back in some sign me. So I get it say he want to go small I come out I still got it Yeah, I'm dressed why they were low-pass the bench, because he was playing big in the second unit. He was playing small ball in the second unit. They play small early, play small in the second unit. That's how they stayed in the front.
Starting point is 01:26:32 Joker going to whoop that ass they trying to make. Whenever they went big is when they lost. I might not be here now. I might be on the Bucs team. Come back? You leaving the arena? I'm working out right now. I got it. And every Tuesday and Thursday, I'm going to call in. If you're wrong. I got y'all. So let's talk a little bit about Joker.
Starting point is 01:26:51 Joker's kind of become a fan favorite for really not giving a fuck. Obviously, after they won the championship, he was pissed off. The parade was going to be on Thursday. Parade was today. Did anybody give a fuck? No. What was your favorite part of the? KCP.
Starting point is 01:27:02 You see my man KCP had the beers like me and your dad. Wait, they already had it? Apparently. They had it today. Apparently they had the parade. What the fuck do you mean today? What is this? We started at 1130.
Starting point is 01:27:12 It was parade day, Gil. I know. What time was the parade? You didn't get the memo, Gil? Everybody got the ping in the tank. You don't be on the sweater, huh? We started this show at 1130. Mountain time or whatever?
Starting point is 01:27:20 Yeah, it's like one hour up. One hour. So that's what you're talking about. Yeah. So that's what you're talking about. Yeah. So that's what you're talking about. Yeah. the ping in the tape. You don't be on a sweater, huh? We started this show at 1130. Mountain time or whatever. Yeah, it's like one hour up. So it's like one hour.
Starting point is 01:27:29 So that means 1230? What went in there? Early morning. Then I didn't know what they do to parade at 9 o'clock? Yeah. 8 o'clock? You know what time to do the Christmas parade? Yeah, the parade kind of start a little early.
Starting point is 01:27:37 Same time. Same time they do the Christmas parade. The untrained eye, bruh. 530 is parade time. Everybody off work. The city jammed. White people is parade time. Everybody off work. The city jammed. White people get up early. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Everybody who's going to work. Listen, I'm throwing a parade. I want every available body to be there. That means after work. I'm not everybody going to work half the city at work. You got 75 people down. No, no, no. The city's shutting down.
Starting point is 01:28:01 No, it didn't. Let's do this. It's shut down, but everybody's calling in 6. You're basically giving them a day off of work. No. 5.30. The parade in Milwaukee was crazy. You should have seen me and your dad.
Starting point is 01:28:09 When did it happen? When I saw him shirtless, I was like, what? Two days after. What time? About, I want to say around, at least like we had to show up around at least like nine. Nine at night? No, no, no. Nine in the morning.
Starting point is 01:28:21 You're doing it. Early parade. Early parade. Early parade. Because you got to think like you got to go through the city, right? So you got to go through the city, and then they got a say-day speech, and then you out there. That should take about three hours. Bucks parade started at 11 a.m.
Starting point is 01:28:33 Oh, 11 a.m. Bucks parade started at 11 a.m. Yeah, so we had to show up at like nine. I saw Brandon shirtless. My dad got shirtless. What time is it? L.A. 11 over there, so what time is it?
Starting point is 01:28:41 Eight over here. So half of us are just waking up, so we don't get to see that. That's good. Would you have watched it if it was at five? We had had other things to do we had a show to give the people That's what I'm saying. It was 75,000 people out there 75,000 that's a lot. I mean the whole 75,000 trash. Have you seen 50,000 people like in how much Coachella how many people go to Coachella post 100? Yep Huh? There you go. I mean, I could be wrong.
Starting point is 01:29:05 I mean, but Coachella's like three or four days. This is one day. This is one day. Coachella's like a whole week. 75,000 is a lot of people, man. It is a lot of people. Coachella's 100. If y'all start doing that shit-
Starting point is 01:29:15 It's a whole week. If y'all do it after work when everybody off work, I guarantee you, how many people in the city? Two, three million? Boom! 500,000. 500,000. 500,000. Not even a quarter of them people going to be here because of the traffic.
Starting point is 01:29:28 Exactly. You forced them to be a part of the parade because it's a traffic jam. They can't go nowhere. Half of the people going to be in traffic. Milwaukee don't even have freeways. Listen, 530. They got that one little thing. They got like one freeway.
Starting point is 01:29:40 LA, Los Angeles, we're going to do a parade at 530 on the phone Freeway He mad I'm a turntable! Champion! You forced goddamn it at this point. From the freeway that shit gonna look god. I'm gonna be like L.A. Ryans out there. My homies be fighting. Shooting. Nigga, what? If you gonna move this car out the goddamn way? L.A. Ryans was turnt up. That shit was... We got a free TV.
Starting point is 01:30:20 We got a free TV? I got to the crib and it was a TV. I was three years old. It was a big ass TV in there. Where did you get this from? I was three years old. Shut up boy. That shit was wild. But so, Joker did an interview with Malika Andrews and he had this to say, basketball, I don't know if I'm ready to bring it up, but I see my fuckers be on it.
Starting point is 01:30:40 Basketball is not the main thing in my life, it's something that I'm good at. Now other players have said something similar to this and been criticized for it. Joker's been this lovable guy now for his seemingly ability to not give a fuck about anything. But what are your thoughts on Joker's views on basketball? I mean, he's good at it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:31:00 Like, what do you want him to say? He's telling you his truth. If you don't like his truth, that's your problem. I mean, I just feel like, I mean, he's from a different country. Like, he's been playing ball professionally forever. So it's like, when they come over here, yeah, their dream is to win a championship. But he probably got other things in his life. That doesn't mean he doesn't love the game.
Starting point is 01:31:19 Obviously, he's working hard because he's one of the best players in the world. So he just has a different way of not putting so much pressure on himself, I think. I think that's the biggest thing. He says he does this because he doesn't want to put so much pressure. And it's working in his favor. Because right now everybody's trying to get clickbait and trying to say all these things.
Starting point is 01:31:37 And it's like, he's just like, yeah, man, I won. Go back to my country, you know, chill, put my horses. Horses, I got a horse race on Sunday. Put the trophies on the thing and, you know, I'm cool. I'll be back. I'll be ready in, chill, with my horses. Horse race on Sunday. Put the trophies on the thing and I'm cool. I'll be back, I'll be ready in what, three months? I'll be coming right back and ready. I think just because it's his first championship, I just think he's kind of capping the excitement.
Starting point is 01:31:58 Just because it's the first championship, even for Europeans, when they win their first championship, there's a lot of just enthusiasm around the accomplishment but for what I'm getting I'm just getting that I'm good at this I got other things that like after the second championship I can hear that after the third championship I'm hearing that's what I'm saying that's from us I'm hearing that second third first championship is this is what we this is what we've been trying to do. We're trying to win this.
Starting point is 01:32:28 But I don't hear that from him. So it's just like, it's a conflict for me. It's just like, if there's something more important than this, so be it. But what is the messaging that we're giving to the next generation? You think if that owner would have had, say, about 30 or 50 Serbians out there cheering and singing, you think he'd be a little bit more like... No. I think so, because you're not hearing those songs and people overseas and play like they
Starting point is 01:32:59 have their chance and... With his people, with his people. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, with his people. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, with his people. But the problem is we grew up, we grew up dreaming about Michael Jordan and being this- Yeah, crying with the- You know, crying with the- We've seen it. Their dream wasn't that. It's just to get here with us.
Starting point is 01:33:17 His brothers, have you noticed his brothers were crying? Yeah, yeah. Because they're the ones who came to America to try to play sports in high school in college and all that stuff Okay, right so they they understand it because they had that and he's he's not like getting drafted was like Where am I going? Yes His brother called him said hey you you made it to the NBA. Oh, OK. That's a big accomplishment for us. For them, not him. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:48 He's already the man where he's at, right? You know, this is like, I have two brothers who didn't make it to the NBA. That's not our dream. Our dream is just to be basketball players. That's what I am. And then I put my name in a draft. And if I get drafted, I get drafted. That was his attitude.
Starting point is 01:34:02 So his brother is telling him, hey, what are you doing? You got drafted. Oh, OK. That's it? So this is their dream, not his. He's just great. I come over here. I'm focusing on the sport.
Starting point is 01:34:17 Soon as I'm done, I get the fuck out of here. Just like if we won a championship in China. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, okay, okay. It's a part of my resume. I don't know. It's a part of my resume over here.
Starting point is 01:34:28 It's a part of my resume over here. But I'm just saying- Look at KTV. But I'm just saying, you see how fast we're trying to get out of there, though. So it's like- KTV, whatever. KTV, remember the little- Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:37 With the mic, and then you had the girls come in and have all your sunflower seeds and drinks and stuff. Picking a girl, and you be like, yo, dance. Thank you. And you do karaoke. The other one. No, it's off the chain over there in Texas. For sure.
Starting point is 01:34:51 So I don't think, I don't take this as Joker saying he don't love basketball. He just, I love basketball. I can love a lot of things that have other interests. But why are we, we love it when Joker does it. But when American players say similar things, oh, he doesn't care. Or he, you know, he's not focused. It is the same. They both don't care. No, he doesn't care. He's not focused. It's the same. It is the same. They both don't care.
Starting point is 01:35:06 No, because it's ingrained. We've been ingrained for a certain thing, right? And that's why we have this thing of we will sacrifice money to help a team win a championship instead of saying, wait, hold on. Why am I sacrificing? Isn't this your job? This is your business. Like, think about your boss coming to you at your job.
Starting point is 01:35:33 He said, hey, yeah, I want to give you a raise. I do, and I know you want the extra $50,000, but look, if you take a $10,000 extra raise, I can give three other people to help build the company. Everyone will say, fuck no. I'm not going to take, I don't even like these three people right here. Right?
Starting point is 01:35:55 You giving them my, my what's the name to build? No. Everybody will say no. But as an athlete, we have been trained to believe in team, taking things, you know, like, okay, I'm supposed to, you know, like what Shaq said. Okay, you want me to do five-year 100 versus four-year 125? Okay, for the better of the team, when it's like, this is your fucking, you're the billionaire. You'll figure this shit out. Like, this has nothing to do with me.
Starting point is 01:36:23 I play, I ball. This is what it says I'm worth. Okay, that's what I'm worth. He balled. He wants what he wants. He balled. Like, this has nothing to do with me. I played, I balled. This is what it says I'm worth. Okay, that's what I'm worth. He balled. He wants what he wants. He balled. Like, our job is not just, oh, yeah, we still want to play together. I'm going to take $50 million.
Starting point is 01:36:31 Yeah. But we do it. I did it. But we, that's what I'm saying. We do it when no other job would do that for the people in that office. Well, is that, I mean, because they hold the whole legacy thing over your head. But the problem becomes, if you take that bread and they can't sign these other guys and the team's not successful, but it's your fault.
Starting point is 01:36:50 Why can't they sign any other guys? Because they're still thinking about their profit. Yeah. I want my profit too. But they can't do that to the foreigners. They can't put that on the foreigners. Foreigners, I've been a professional since 11 years old. I done heard this.
Starting point is 01:37:04 Not dead ass. What are you talking about? I've been a professional since 11 years old. I done heard this. Not dead ass. What are you talking about? I've been a professional. You ain't not falling for that shit either. I've been a paid man. I'm not falling for that shit. They already got an agent. They already got an agent.
Starting point is 01:37:12 Take this fucking pay cut for, like they're asking Dwight Howard, take 65% pay cut to play our team again. I got to go back to my country, then I'm out. Excuse me? I got to go back to my country, then I'm out. That's a wild thing that's not really talked about from the fan perspective because all they care about is records Championship trophies all that type of shit
Starting point is 01:37:27 But the inner workings of a team when they come to guys like yourselves like oh take less bread to help us make more money Hey, you take less to help me make more and we can have the successful franchise. I can get the seven billion dollar valuation Take a pay cut so we can make more money Okay, but the other flip side of it You don't do it. The team's gonna suck and we're just gonna blame you for I'm not gonna get rid of you I'm not blaming ownership. Yeah, the team goes suck, but I still get to make my profit But but then you're looked at as a greedy asshole instead of the reality when it's the Let me ask you a question if if if a team overseas asked your son to come play at the age of 16, would you let him go?
Starting point is 01:38:07 Say if he was one of the top teams or a team that plays against the top teams at 16 and they say, yo, he's going to play. Because him playing professional against adults is like throwing him in the ocean. He has to learn how to swim today. Okay. Right? This ain't no kiddie pool no more. You have to swim today.
Starting point is 01:38:32 That means in the next two years, when you get inserted back at 18, you're going to be far more better than the 18-year-olds who was playing against fucking 16 and 15-year-olds. So, yes. Because right there, he is the the youngest learning everything adults are learning. It's like my two sons at 11, the younger one is far more better because he's learning what I'm teaching my son right now, the younger one is learning the same thing. Yeah, he can't go up there and dunk it and all that, but when it comes to the dribbling,
Starting point is 01:39:06 he's learning at 11. He didn't have the skill at 11. Right, right. You know what I mean? So it's like, put him over there, two years ago, do your thing. I think we're sure. Now, it's the moment of truth.
Starting point is 01:39:18 The moment you've been waiting, hating, or debating for. We teased this earlier in the week, but it's time for y'all to drop y'all top five point cards. We can't do top 10. We don't got the time. The time constraints are last show.
Starting point is 01:39:30 We got to pop these bottles. We got to get into this lovely Gil's Arena cookie cake. No, I'm taking that home. I'm taking that home. I'm taking that home. I'm going to leave that right there. You're taking the whole thing? What you going to do?
Starting point is 01:39:40 Just let it get ashy? Don't say you're taking the cookie from Cookie Monster here, nigga. That's the problem. Y'all always... Well, I'm going to leave. I'm taking the balloons or something like I put in my work for four months. We didn't know. I need something. We get something. Y'all know I love cookies, but time for your top five point guard list. So Brandon, we're gonna start with yourself. We'll post it on the screen.
Starting point is 01:40:06 Give us your top five point guards. Steph Curry, Magic Johnson, Isaiah Thomas, John Stockton, J. Kidd. Everybody on this list has been to the finals. Whether they won or lost, John Stockton got records that won't ever be broke. J. Kidd, I just think the mastermind of a point guard. Isaiah Thomas, you know, let it be known. Magic. Let it be known. You know what Magic did, Showtime, and then Steph Curry changed the game.
Starting point is 01:40:34 So I don't know who's beating that, but you know, good luck. Steph ain't no real point guard, man. Shit, shit, he bring the ball up. He brings the ball up. Everybody on the team bring the ball up. He brings the ball up. Draymond bring the ball up. He brings the ball up. Everybody on the team bring the ball up. He brings the ball up. Draymond bring the ball up. Now he does.
Starting point is 01:40:48 Oh, gosh. Now he does. But in that heyday, when it was time to go get it. Monte Ellis bring the ball up. Monte Ellis is two. They both twos. Monte Ellis is two because I was running the one. Didn't we say we wasn't going to put hybrid guards in him?
Starting point is 01:41:03 Who said that? All three said that. Because he said if you put Magic in, he we weren't going to put hybrid guards in him. Who said that? We all three said that. Because he said if you put Magic in, he had to put LeBron in. That's what he said. Then if we put LeBron in, we got to put Dame and all the other power two hybrids. See, my other five is good too though, but they took that off. I have some West Coast, some LA legends up in my other five, but they didn't want to put that.
Starting point is 01:41:26 We had the Widdly Pack, top five. That's all right. Solid. Who's top five is next? All right, let's move on. Rashad, we got your top five. If you want to read the list of the people at home. Jkid, Zeke.
Starting point is 01:41:39 Let it be known. CP, Steve, and John. Yeah, I like all of them. I love the hybrid guards out, the big guard. These are all guards under 6'5", 6'4", pure playmaking, team running point guards. And I'm fucking with Steve Nash and John Stockton, my white boy. My white boys that's in there. So Magic wasn't a point guard?
Starting point is 01:42:09 Not to me. Based on criteria. Magic wasn't a point guard? Not to me. The team is 50% white if we include that kid. We got two and a half. Two and a half. Two and a half, right?
Starting point is 01:42:17 We got two and a half. Then we're going to get reed up. But you said no Magic. No Magic. No Magic. No Magic. No Magic. No Magic. No Magic. No're going to get reed up.
Starting point is 01:42:27 But you said no magic. Thought process behind that. Just because Gil's criteria was big guard, Norm Nixon, and then was the real point guards, but then they let magic bring it up. He gave you all the assists, and okay, then he ain't no goddamn point guard. We got to get magic on this show. He ain't no point guard if that's the case. Then like he said with LeBron, LeBron bring the ball up, he averaged most assists on his team.
Starting point is 01:42:51 He the point guard, no he not. He the hybrid. So Zeke, you wouldn't consider Zeke a hybrid or Chris Paul a hybrid? At the time I wasn't. Average of 20? Uh-uh, cuz they not offensive minded point guards. They average 20. But they not offensive minded point point guards. They average 20. But they're not offensive-minded point guards.
Starting point is 01:43:06 They're system players. They get their points in the system throughout the offense. Same with Steve Nash. Why can't we use a jersey shot of Steve Nash? We had to use him as a drawing document. I'm just looking at it. No disrespect, Underdog Fantasy. We appreciate y'all.
Starting point is 01:43:24 Let's see Gil. Download the app. Promo code GILSARENA. Mines? I'm just looking at it. No disrespect, Underdog Fantasy. We appreciate y'all. Let's see Gil. Download the app. Promo code GILZARENA. Mines? So let's look at Gil Bear. Your top five points. See, I told you.
Starting point is 01:43:33 I knew he would do it. He couldn't help himself. He couldn't help himself. You want to read it off to the people who are visually impaired? I got Chris Paul at the bottom. Five. The fact that y'all got Chris Paul in there is fucking crazy. What? Explain.
Starting point is 01:43:49 Explain. Explain? Explain. I can explain. Hold on. He's better than John Stockton? Chris Paul better than John Stockton? I'm asking you. Hold on. Yes. Hold on. Let me try it. So, John Stockton, just in case you tried this shit, John Stockton averaged 13 and 10.5 assists. He was a 10-time All-Star, 9-time assist champ, 11-time All-NBA player, 2-time steals champs, 5-time All-Defense, All-Star MVP, 19,000 points, over 15,000 assists. Yup. Yup. Now, Chris Paul, 18,000 points, I mean 18, average 18, 9.5, 12-time All-Star, 6-times
Starting point is 01:44:31 Steel's champ, 5-times assist champ, 11-time All-NBA, 9-time All-Defensive team, All-Star MVP, Rookie of the Year. He has 21,000 points and 11,500 assists. So what? What that mean? And been to the finals once and lost. We're talking about his finals appearance. We're talking about the fight.
Starting point is 01:44:54 I'm talking about all that. I mean, how do you? Y'all smoking some bull. How do you wage your defense? Yes. I mean, the game changed. I mean, sit. Okay, imagine John Stockton and Karl Malone playing in this era. I mean the game change. I mean, okay. Imagine John Stockton and Karl
Starting point is 01:45:05 Malone playing in this era. I mean, what the fuck are we talking about? The pay? He got stills. No, no, no, no. He got stills and assists and a record that Chris Paul has Karl Malone to throw the ball to. Nope. I don't give a fuck who he is. Get it done. Get it done. That's not my fault. I got drafted there. But that's the reason you're giving it to John Stockton. Your reason you're giving it to John Stockton. Your reason you're giving it to John Stockton because he's passing the ball along. You had a whole team with the Clippers and couldn't get over the hump. You had a whole team.
Starting point is 01:45:31 So many niggas was coming through there. Jamal Crawford. John Stockton never got over the hump. He got Hall of Famers? John Stockton never got over the hump. He got Hall of Famers? Who? Chris Crawford.
Starting point is 01:45:40 With the Hall of Famers. With the Hall of Famers. I don't know. Doc Rivers. There it is. Hall of Fame coach. Doc Rivers. He said he couldn't get over the hump. He didn't pass. Doc Rivers. There it is. Hall of Fame coach. Doc Rivers. He said he couldn't get over the hump. He didn't pass to Doc Rivers? And you said he couldn't get over the hump.
Starting point is 01:45:49 John Stockton never got over the hump either. Who? John Stockton never got over the hump. Everybody in the 90s ran into one nigga. Who? Everybody in the 90s ran into one person. The same answer is not get over the hump. Everybody in the 90s ran into one person.
Starting point is 01:46:01 Hey man, Oscar Robinson, then I got Curry. Then I got Magic. Then I got LeBron. Chris Watt better than J.Kid? Damn, y'all. Damn. Oh, I got J.Kid right here. No, he ain't top five. J.Kid had 12 points, eight assists, 10-time All-Star, five-time Steel Champ, six-time
Starting point is 01:46:18 All-NBA champ. So Chris Watt better than him. Roy, when he was a champ, he was just a nigga on the team. No, no, no. Do not do that. No, do not do that. He was not just. He was just a nigga on the team. No He was not just him no they go on the team not first of all what okay He hits big threes Kid hold on during the tempest Let's do this let's put points on champion Oh, no, I said hold on if you do if we do and let's do points on championships If you are the man when you won the championship. Let's put points on championships. No, Isaiah Thomas. Hold on. If you do, if we do, let's do points on championships.
Starting point is 01:46:45 If you are the man, when you won the championship, that's 10 points. If you was the person next to the man, you get five points, right? If you are one of the other guys, you get one point. Jason Kidd gets one point for his championship. Who was the most important pieces? Dirt. Next. J. Kid. No. J. Kid. Jason Terry, Barrera, Jason Kid.
Starting point is 01:47:10 No. J. Kid. I'm running this shit. He didn't even play the last five minutes of the game. J. Kid's mind? He was never in the game in the last five minutes. It was Barrera and Jason Terry. They didn't play the finals. They didn't play that, man. No, we're talking about they didn't play that, man. And then about the finals. They didn't play that man. No, we're talking about the, they didn't play that man.
Starting point is 01:47:25 All right. And then you want to talk about who? Isaiah Thomas? Isaiah Thomas. First of all, overrated. Let it be known, Zeke. Let it be known, Zeke. Overrated?
Starting point is 01:47:38 Let it be known, Zeke. Let it be known, Zeke. Okay. Y'all got Zeke all- Statistically. 12 times all- You talking statistically overrated or you talking about Zeke?-time All-Star. You call this statistically overrated, or are you talking about... 12-time All-Star.
Starting point is 01:47:48 You was just a Detroit fan. 12-time. I'm a Detroit Pistons fan. No, you cannot go there and talk about Zeke like that. You cannot go to Detroit talking like that. Talk about it. 12-time All-Star, right? That means you're an All-Star.
Starting point is 01:48:00 You're a top 24 player, right? You're a five-time all NBA player Meaning you wasn't top 15 But five times in the NBA they didn't like my attitude. They like my attitude No fans vote for all-star attitude your play vote you as all NBA. No, fans vote for all-star. My attitude. Your play votes you as all-NBA. He was only a five-time. So most all-stars, like Chris Paul, you're 11-time, 11-time. Keep going.
Starting point is 01:48:35 11-time, 11-time. Keep going. Y'all going with the State Farm. Like Ray Allen. Like Ray Allen, right? You got 11-time all-star, two-time All-NBA. That means you were only top 15 two times in your career. That means you're not a dominant person.
Starting point is 01:48:49 You said Zeke is overrated. Keep going. Five times. Five times. Two teams at that point. Y'all going with Clifford. Y'all going with Clifford. Two teams.
Starting point is 01:48:56 Still a five-time guy. I'm saying two All-NBA teams at that point. When John Stockton did it, John Stockton was 11. John Stockton is a 10-time All-Star. You said he was overrated. Listen to what Stockton is a 10-time All-Star. You said he was overrated. Listen to what I'm saying. 10-time All-Star. I said overrated.
Starting point is 01:49:09 You're a Detroit Pistons fan. He said overrated. 10-time All-Star. In the same era. 10-time All-Star, but an 11-time All-NBA player. That means he didn't get voted by the fans, but still made the All-NBA team. 11 times. 12 and 5. 10 and 11.
Starting point is 01:49:28 Like, what are we talking about? We're talking about Seek being overrated. Chris Paul's not even better than Russell Westbrook. Who? And James Harden. Get the fuck out of here. Shit, no. You're crazy as hell.
Starting point is 01:49:37 Yeah, all right. You're crazy as hell. All right. He's overrated, though. Yeah, all right. To be a top three? Where? What did you do? He won two championships. Yeah, I yeah, I to to be a top three where What did you do?
Starting point is 01:49:48 What did he do? What did he do? He led the team? Oh, he did not leave let him once Okay, it was the finals MVP one Okay and leave one. Oh, there's two right over it. He didn't leave. Who was the best player team? Who was the main guy Joe Dumars, right? No. No, Isaiah Thomas. What are you talking about? You're trying not to get him.
Starting point is 01:50:10 He's trying not to get him. The stats show it. The stats. This is not getting. I am not guessing. He's the leader. That's like saying Andre Iguodala. It's like you saying Andre Iguodala was the man that
Starting point is 01:50:22 won for the team. I am not guessing on what he did. He was a 12-time All-Star, top 24. But when it came down to the top 15 players, he only made it five times. You said he's overrated. You said he's overrated. It was only two teams at that point. Okay, All-NBA.
Starting point is 01:50:40 You said he was overrated. All-NBA. That means there's two other players that was beating him out. There was two point guards beating him out every year. That doesn't mean he's overrated. To be top three, but you have John Stockton, top two, but he was a top ten player. That John, that makes it even worse. That means Zeke wasn't a top ten player.
Starting point is 01:51:02 But only five times. To the players? To the players? Only five times. To the players? To the players? Only five times. To the players? All the players agree? Five times. Because Zig didn't dig ride the league.
Starting point is 01:51:10 Right. He didn't dig ride. Five times. We're talking about Aaron. He was left off the fucking green team because he didn't shake a nigga's hand and you're talking about all NBA teams. You know, what the fuck are we talking about, bro? We left him off a legendary team because he didn't shake a nigga's hand. That's championship.
Starting point is 01:51:25 So how many NBA teams were he left off because he didn't shake the nigga's hand? That was after. It don't matter. After. That was in the 90s. He still is not. He played in the 80s. Zeke is Zeke.
Starting point is 01:51:36 He played in the 80s. Zeke is Zeke. The handshake is in the 90s. That means Bird, that means Magic, and John Stockton was in front of this man the whole time. So when their careers is over with, how the fuck do you put him in front of John Stockton? How? By putting him in front of John Stockton.
Starting point is 01:51:55 Just that easy. You see how I just did that? Just as you did, but you did it. You see how I did it? It was so easy. It was like, how do you, how? Like this. And then Curry.
Starting point is 01:52:03 In front? You have Curry in front that you have come on Can't there can't but that's what you're putting a third person in front of someone second. You can't do it That's that's that's what you can when I believe is a better point guard in front of the purse How what what shows it show me the stats where it's not going to be in there stats. I mean, he played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats.
Starting point is 01:52:29 He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats.
Starting point is 01:52:37 He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. He played for stats. Team. Oh my gosh. Team. Team. You're not on the all defensive team.
Starting point is 01:52:45 That means the white boy is a better defensive player than you. This is the goal post. And you're a defensive team. Let's move the goal post. You're a defensive team and you're not all defense? Take this goal post. Take this. We're going to move the goal post.
Starting point is 01:52:57 You know why Zeke ain't in there? Because he wasn't falling around. You know how everybody be falling around the ground? Who was the best defensive team in the 80s and 90s? In the beginning of the 80s and the 90s. Who was the best defensive team? We're talking about who? Detroit Pistons. So you saying Josh Stockton is better than... And he's not. He didn't make runs. Who was the best defensive team in the 80s and 90s? In the beginning of the 80s and the 90s. Who was the best defensive team?
Starting point is 01:53:05 We talk about who? Detroit Pistons. So you're saying John Stockton is better. And he's not. He didn't make one defensive team. You're saying John Stockton is better than Zeke. Defense? Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:14 No, I'm not just saying better. I'm saying better. Five times, two times steel champ. He owns the steals record. That means he was a defensive player. No, that means he stole the ball and had Steez in more than the other guys. Yes. That doesn't mean he's a better defensive player. No, no, no. The five. It means I stole the ball. No, that means he stole the ball in that season more than the other guys. Yes. That doesn't mean he's a better defensive player.
Starting point is 01:53:26 No, no, no. It means I stole the ball more times this season than other guys. The five-time all-defense makes him a better defensive player. No, it doesn't. If I made it five times and you made it zero, brothers, you're not a defensive player. It means that you got voted. And you have a defensive team, which means your points, your defense is the greatest to be either. Can I see my top five again?
Starting point is 01:53:46 And I don't know how Curry, I don't know how Curry will be in the conversation over Magic Johnson. I mean, why not? That is embarrassing. I mean, I changed the game. That's embarrassing now. Everybody in that top five run their house. I thought we was talking about point guards that run the team, not a bunch of stats chasing
Starting point is 01:54:03 stats stuffing ass, oh, we put them here cuz he got more this I thought we was talking about point guards. There's no Curry has over Magic Johnson not once that ain't again not once that's again. That's a stat I think there's not a stat that curry has I think that would be over Magic Johnson. Yeah. Yeah Well, uh, three three three. That's not a stat. Yes, it is a stat. I'm the greatest three-point shooter ever. What are we talking about? Go to the rest of the team. He said three-point makes are not a stat.
Starting point is 01:54:31 No, no, no, go to the, what's the name, let's see if that's part of it. Mr. Shoot three-pointers said that three-pointers are not a stat. Accomplishments. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, Calm down. Freedom. Calm down. Calm down.
Starting point is 01:54:44 Go to accomplishments. Tell me if threes are part of a stat in accomplishment three three point cut is report chair. No, there's no three-point champ It is a three-point all-time. Oh, you know the thing no Ray Allen It was Tyler were waiting on it. That's not a thing two-time NBA scoring champion scoring champ. Yes. Yes scoring champ Not no three-point champ. He's a three five top times... Hey, you say three-point is not a stat, Gil. Accomplishment! You said... You don't get, motherfucker, leading the league. You don't get an accomplishment for leading the league in threes.
Starting point is 01:55:13 He said Isaiah Thomas was overrated. You don't get it for leading the league in threes? I am done. Compared to what you're saying? To Chris Paul? To be three? He said to John Stockton. No, he said to Chris Paul.
Starting point is 01:55:22 Both of them. Nine times... Overrated. Are y'all not listening to what y'all said Yeah, look he has the best defensive team that people put together but the player himself didn't make one. He didn't have to He need to be the best player't it start with your point guard picking up the ball? No, no, no, no, it doesn't. It starts with Bill Lambert and them niggas in the backcourt calling motherfuckers every time.
Starting point is 01:55:49 Because Golden State defense start with who? Golden State defense start with who? The point guard. No, Draymond. Draymond Green. Who picks the ball up? Draymond Green. Who stops the ball?
Starting point is 01:55:59 Draymond Green, right? The defense starts with, right? Austin defense started with who? Marcus Smart. No, no, no, no, no. Just fuck you up. KG. Dom, dom. KG.
Starting point is 01:56:06 Oh, you talking about this? I'm talking about this, Boston. Rondo. KG. KG. KG. KG was the defense. KG.
Starting point is 01:56:13 Anchor. KG was the anchor. KG. Anchor. Was the anchor. No, KG. Anchor. Come on.
Starting point is 01:56:17 You said it. Got you. Anchor. Got you. That means Zeke is going to be you. Anchor. You going to be you. I got you.
Starting point is 01:56:22 I got you. Do y'all hear what y'all saying? I got you. Thank you. Thank you. Dan Wallace and Rasheed, too. Y'all go do y'all thing. We got you. I got you. I got you. Do y'all hear what y'all saying? Y'all go do y'all thing. We got you. I got you.
Starting point is 01:56:28 I got you. Don't worry about it. You don't got to play no D. Hey, that's what they said to the Rip. You don't have to play no D. Relax. You don't have to win the NBA defensive player of the year. You proved my point.
Starting point is 01:56:39 Zeke, you don't have to win it. Zeke, we're the best defenders. Go score. We good. I appreciate it. You just said it. it good. You just said everything else makes you a great point guard. He said overrated. You just said it then he said over right the anchor. I'm gonna give you these anchors when you go you're
Starting point is 01:56:54 gonna need the anchor, right? You said the anchor just to get something you don't have to play defense because we will do you get blown past because your garbage at defense will help you out. These guards are not getting beat back They're not getting past John Stockton. They're not getting He's locking you up. He's here John Stockton is locking Zeke up? Are you standing on that? What are you doing? You're sweating. What are you doing? You're sweating. Hey, I got Zeke.
Starting point is 01:57:28 Where are you going? Where are you going? John Stockton getting past him like, help, help, help, help, Bill. Somebody get this man a towel. Help, help, Bill. Somebody get this man a towel. Help, Bill. You get his napkins or something?
Starting point is 01:57:39 Bill, help. Bill, help. That's all Zeke doing. Help, Bill, help. They blew past me again. Come on. Everybody's an all-defensive player but him. Let it be known, Gil.
Starting point is 01:57:53 All right, listen. Wipe you down. Right? Come on. I'm just thinking, hey, he is sweating on fire. Everybody made the all-defensive team. I'm off the overrated. Detroit, we are Detroit all goons
Starting point is 01:58:07 Which tells you they're blowing past this man all goons Calico what are you at? Do this nigga trip or not? How much you more see how many all defensive teams do Mars? That's what he did That was a specialist Gary. I do Dennis Rodman and Joe Dumar did what I got it. I see you know what you gonna do for us Zeke We know what you gonna do for I got the main nigga taking off on people. Come on man stealing on everybody Here it's not for the point guard. Yes, nigga knock you. What's up? It says a lot when you knock a nigga That's obviously what they do I got magic you
Starting point is 01:58:58 Overrated to be three he said overrated to be three that's overation to be three Three over them Oscar Robertson. Come on. What are we talking? I think Oscar Robertson got some defense too. Okay, maybe he don't Obviously we already know I got the best I get the best five know what the test say but Let's go back to McKinsey. Every time we start talking about point guard. Obviously, we already know I got the best five. Yo, what did Chad say? Let's go to... Chad, who got the best? Let's go back to McKinsey. Let me see. I know I bust...
Starting point is 01:59:35 There we go. Look. Solid. He got J. Kidd one. I know. If J. Kidd won... So solid. I mean...
Starting point is 01:59:44 So solid. Triple mean. So solid. Triple, triple double guy. Point guard. No. 12 and 8. We ain't talking about no stats. 12 and 8. We ain't talking about no stats.
Starting point is 01:59:53 Six time all NBA. Who you want running your team? No, no. That's a different conversation though. No, it's not. It is. It's the same conversation. No, because if we're picking a point guard to run our team.
Starting point is 02:00:02 Okay, who you picking? Not all of them. To run your team. If you got the first one pick. One, who you picking? Not all of them. To run your team, if you got the first one pick. One pick? Yep, to pick any of them. To run your team. To run your team, Gil. Don't go off the championship.
Starting point is 02:00:12 To run my team? Watch this. Look at him. To run my team. He's trying to be big. Oh, then I'm going Magic. I'm going Magic. Okay.
Starting point is 02:00:23 After that, J-Kid. After that, probably J-Kid. Like me, that's what I'm saying. It's a difficult thing. Look, when it comes to point guards, right, and we're talking about the IQs of it, then we're all saying the same thing. Right? When we're talking about the IQ, pass and the ability to get everyone open. Yes.
Starting point is 02:00:44 Right? But when you start throwing stats in here, it kind of changes the shit. I don't have to do all the stats because we're winning. My team is good. I don't have to do all that. We don't need none of that. First of all, he holds the ball 24 seconds. Who?
Starting point is 02:00:55 Chris Wall. What are you controlling? I got a sorry team. That's why we can't win. Get off of it. Get off of it. Hey, I got. But that's the system.
Starting point is 02:01:03 No, no, that's you. I got sorry players. No, that's you. I don't got Carmelo. Get off the it. Get off of it. But that's the system. No, no, that's you. I got star players. I got star players. No, that's you. I don't got Carmelo. Get off the fucking ball. I don't got Carmelo. I don't got Carmelo with me.
Starting point is 02:01:12 I got him. Get off the fucking ball. To who? James Harden. Pass that shit to James or somebody. I got it. Whoever you play with. But even like somebody like Russell and them, right?
Starting point is 02:01:23 There's no passes that they made that makes you be like, yo, them motherfuckers got the vision that we need. No. How do you know? Versus Nash and- J. Kidd. J. Kidd and them, right? If I'm going to have somebody really-
Starting point is 02:01:36 That can get that kind of- Magic. That's what I'm saying. That's- John Stockton? If you tell me, yeah, John Stock's like that's what I'm saying, but I'm putting up there for the for the fiercest the fiercest competitiveness that never back down. He can hit the open jumper.
Starting point is 02:01:52 He can get his team involved. He played defense. He's scrappy. Let it be known all of this. No, no, no, no, no, no. He's not scrappy. He's not scrappy. He didn't make the whole defensive team.
Starting point is 02:02:00 That does not mean he's not scrappy. I know who's scrappy though. That white boy. You know what? Hey, that white boy made it five times Listen Zeke is crap because he's crap Zeke scrap watch out. I got this deep is this crap? Zeke scrap nigga. He's happy because he's crap. He could be
Starting point is 02:02:19 Who run the league what who's the color in the league who run who run the league? What did who's the color in the league? Who run the league? Black. Huh? Black. Okay. Black. He's gonna go black. Soon as they integrate. That's what we're doing. Soon as they integrated it.
Starting point is 02:02:30 That's what we're doing. Soon as they integrate it, they black. David Stern. Okay, John Stockton and David Stern, they have dinner together. He owns the steel record and deep like all time. Like defense, like how do we measure this with the guards? We asked you Zeke see what do you think? What did you think when John Stockton lined up against you?
Starting point is 02:02:50 Let it know let it be known We need to hear from the ego. I locked me up Z when you got John just how we add Gilbert Gilbert when a white boy get up against you what you can say honey But honey, but the steps honey, but the stats say otherwise honey honey. That, what you going to say? Hunt it. Hunt it. But the stats say otherwise. Hunt it. Hunt it. That's what you say. You say it.
Starting point is 02:03:08 And I ask you a question. You're tough. White guy guarding you, Gil. What is it? It's a hunt it. Automatically. This is not of our opinion. The numbers say, like, you have a defensive team that starts with the point guard to stop
Starting point is 02:03:20 the ball from penetrating. So you pulled up the numbers between Zeke and Stockton. I got everybody. I got everybody. Zeke and Stockton. I got everybody. I got everybody. Zeke and Stockton. I got everybody. So between the two in every single battle they had, you're saying that Stockton upped him and didn't.
Starting point is 02:03:31 Is that what you're telling me? You can't tell me that. There's defense all. Hey, hold on. Hey, so I know you're going by numbers, but you think Chris Wall's a better point guard than Rondo? What are we looking at? What are we gauging?
Starting point is 02:03:49 See, now you're thinking about the pass and all that stuff. I'm thinking about everything. And you don't like Chris Paul, so you can't be biased. I'm not being biased. You are. No, no, no, no, no. You do not like Chris. I do think Chris Paul is a good player, but I don't think he's that top tier.
Starting point is 02:04:01 When we're talking about top five, I don't think he... He has the best turnover ratio talking about so they're good. I like top five I don't think he has the best turnover ratio assistant. Oh, you got it. That's fine. I'm gonna say who you putting over No, I'm just six times steals champ. That's fine five time assist champ nine time all defensive player Like I mean all that's the team It's a lot of dick riding of the NBA. That's what I say with the Zeke shit, man. With the Stockton Zeke shit. It's like you can say it both ways, right? Some of them in there, like Derek... Let me stop.
Starting point is 02:04:35 Detroit has turned their back on you again, Gil. Yeah, for sure. We need to get Zeke on the show. You need to rock Isaiah Thomas. See? I told you. Take this bunch of card away. When we ask Summer League, we need Isaiah Thomas. Take this card away. Okay, so look. Because there's a defensive category in here, right? And we're talking about guarding the point guards.
Starting point is 02:04:55 He got to guard the magic Johnson. Oh, but you use hold on. This is metrics as a fucking award system. You're saying you didn't win the defensive team. When it's close, there's he has five things if you didn't win the defensive team When it's this close, he has five things that you didn't do but your team is known for this. He has no control over who gets voted
Starting point is 02:05:12 onto those teams. So you can't control that. No. It don't mean that because I can do my job and still not get picked. How? What do you mean how? By being snubbed. It's called being snubbed on the list. How many times it um Chauncey Billups make the all-defensive team
Starting point is 02:05:30 Let me let me calculate guarantee you he had it's a met like if you're keeping everybody from doing their job Then you are front-runner you have an advantage How is he getting snubbed every year? Two-time All-Defense. Two-time All-Defense. Chonky Phillips. And he got the goons in the back. Now, how does this man have the fucking whole goon squad? Your team is known for locking the bad boys.
Starting point is 02:05:56 They didn't like him. They didn't like IT. Was Chonky a good defense? You know what this tells me? Was Chonky a good defense? This tells me, I'm sorry, Detroit. I'm a Detroit Pistons fan. But this is what it tells me was Chauncey a good this tells me I'm sorry Detroit I'm a Detroit's business fans, but this is what tell me you have a your whole team. You got Rodman you got Rick Malone. What Rick Malone you got
Starting point is 02:06:15 You got a gold squad That means everybody on your team all defense, but your point guard. What does that say? Nothing? That means team all defense but your point guard what does that say nothing that means why do I have to have a point guard that's all NBA defense bro the league don't like me why do I have to that's what your team is known for no the team your team is known for that my point guard is not my brothers but you can't splash no it's not you can't splash no it's not Gilbert we're splash brothers without a splash it's only two Splash Brothers on the team. It's only two. There's not five Splash Brothers. There's only two. There's only two, not five. So we got four defensive players and one of them is not. It's our point guard. We're called the bad boys, but what is not bad? Okay, the only point is Fucking is fighting is the only nigga this bad We are called the bad boy the bad boy We didn't say we got so bad boys are work all of us John Sally the whole day
Starting point is 02:07:18 I'm a thief and it make the dream team because he was that one person he told the bad boys Don't shake they fucking hand because I'm the baddest motherfucker I am. And I said, fuck them niggas. Fuck them. In 92. Foul Michael Jordan. Every time he comes to the lane. Foul his ass.
Starting point is 02:07:37 Fuck him. Fuck him. He said, I got Michael Jordan. Ready? Go. Foul him. And exactly what Tossie and Rip was doing. That's exactly what Tossie and Rip was doing. Go. Go. Go. Go. And exactly what Chauncey and Rip was doing. That's exactly what Chauncey and Rip was doing.
Starting point is 02:07:47 Go. Go. Go. But he got two NBA All-Defensive Chauncey because he was saying go? He was defending. No, he wasn't. You got to defend. He ain't no goddamn defender.
Starting point is 02:07:58 He defending Derrick Fisher. He ain't no goddamn defender. Defending the weak ass. See, he couldn't do that. Some weak ass niggas. See, he couldn't. They couldn't guard Mark Jackson who's doing this right here. He's doing this. Who's going to get the ball? Markending the weak ass. See, you couldn't do that. Some weak ass niggas. See, couldn't, they couldn't guard Mark Jackson who's doing this right here though. He's doing this though.
Starting point is 02:08:06 Soon as he gets the ball. Mark Jackson get the ball like this. It ain't gonna do nothing. Mark Jackson coming down, semi. No. Young Mark, young Mark was a problem. Young Mark was a problem. Okay, how about moderator?
Starting point is 02:08:14 Man, I'm more than a moderator, girl. I'm a host. You got to start saying some shit, yo. I'm more than a moderator. Start stepping in. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook.
Starting point is 02:08:22 I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. I let y'all cook. Okay, how about moderator now I'm more than a moderator girl, but you got What that Zeke was not at all defensive player I'm gonna pretend like I did you because I got to be all-knowing in this role in position I would have thought the Zeke would have more all-defensive team selections, but let it be known, I will also defer to Zeke. Could have been some hating going on. Niggas was not really rocking with him for some reason.
Starting point is 02:08:50 In the 80s? Yes. Late 80s. Late 80s. Late 60s. In the 2000s. In the 9th, whatever year. They still not fucking with Zeke.
Starting point is 02:08:58 Right now. Okay, but we talking about from 7 to 9, all the way up before they start hating you. Where was the defense? Oh, my Lord. So now he needs defense. I'm just saying. So John Stockton, you ain't asking the same questions for John.
Starting point is 02:09:11 When everything. Where was the defense? No, he said, no, he said Isaiah Thomas was overrated. To be three. He said overration. No, to be top. Oh, he's not even in your top five. He said he was overrated.
Starting point is 02:09:23 He said overration. So he's overrated to you. He's not even in your top five. To be not even in your top five. He said he was overrated. He said overrated. Isaiah Thomas. So he's overrated to you. He's not even in your top five. To be a top five? He's in my top ten. He's not in the top five, like he just said. Like he's, I got, after my five, that's, after five, I got what? He's not going to use the same criteria against the rest of those guys.
Starting point is 02:09:39 I got Jake. I got Jake in him. He's like seven. He's not using the same criteria against the rest of those guys. Because if he did, a lot of those guys would still be in the top five. If you use the same criteria for Isaiah with the rest of those guys,
Starting point is 02:09:53 they're not going to stay in these spots. Any of the guys you got in there, Isaiah. Oh, no. I'm going to hit you. They got better defenders. All the guys that you got in front of Isaiah. That's Chicago, too. of Isaiah. That's Chicago. I'm there.
Starting point is 02:10:07 Tom, that's Chicago. He don't care. Of course he ain't nobody gonna like him in the league. That's not y'all trying to use it because I found a flaw. Yeah, I just found a flaw. I found a flaw in your guy. What? What flaw?
Starting point is 02:10:18 Ole! All NBA teams. He didn't make the all NBA defensive team. All NBA only six times. That's the flaw. Yo, it's so crazy that they be trying to like downplay Zeke because of like things that All NBA teams. He didn't make the all NBA defensive team. All NBA only six times. That's the problem. Yo, it's so crazy that they be trying to downplay Zeke because of things that come up.
Starting point is 02:10:29 Magic never made an all defensive team, but he was two-time steals leader. He said only six times. He only made it. Only six times. Only. Only. Only. He didn't make it at all, but only.
Starting point is 02:10:42 12-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA. That means he made it. 10-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA. That means he made it. 10-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA. All-NBA is more important. It's more important. 11 versus 6. 12 versus 6. So when I say only versus everyone else, he is the lowest on the All-NBA team.
Starting point is 02:11:04 But you're the only one using that as a metric to gauge Where we put these people we do not use it all. I know you just we're just using I do that We're using skill set. Just use it. We're gonna point guard what you do in the position We're using all those metrics. I use that how many awards you got this ain't got a finals MVP. He can't crack the top five No, damn Final damn final statement. All right, go ahead. So what are the fans vote? This ain't got a finals MVP and he can't crack the top five. No. Damn. Final. Damn. Final statement.
Starting point is 02:11:28 All right, go ahead. What are the fans vote? Who's list was best? I know. Gil, it's going to hurt your feelings a little bit. If it not. So, final tally. Final tally. Can we zoom in on the sweat?
Starting point is 02:11:37 Final tally. Can we zoom in on the sweat spots? We're going to let these final votes get in. Zoom in on this nigga's sweat. The beads of sweat. We're going to let the final votes get in. Zoom in on the thick of sweat. The beads of sweat. We're gonna let the final votes get in. I don't got a tank top on so you can all air flowage. Man.
Starting point is 02:11:52 You gotta all air flowage. Nearly a thousand voters in the chat. Hold on. What happened to the shit? Come on now. Be smart. Here we go. I know I lost. First place. The chat agreed. Brandon, 50%. So I know I lost first place the chat agree Brandon 50%
Starting point is 02:12:09 Gil you got 40% Rashad as you know, they're haters a sweater on nine for a shirt for a reason today I wasn't fucking around Good. I said you were no you got to really make this one. It's gonna take more than both You really gotta make this up because it's not making no sense. It's not making no sense that overrated Isaiah Thomas overrated. We did not have Isaiah Thomas and Champagne to pop to celebrate the end of the season. 9,000 assists? I mean, what are we talking about?
Starting point is 02:12:39 Isaiah is going to sit across. Why do we keep acting like the game wasn't different back then? He knows it. Isaiah is going to be soft-spoken. He's going to be like the table. Why do we keep acting like the game wasn't different back then? He knows it. Isaiah going to be soft-spoken. He going to be like, listen, my brother. Listen, my brother. That's what I'm saying. The game was different back then.
Starting point is 02:12:53 The game was different back then. But the player that's in front of him is in the same era. We need Zeke on the show. Like 15,000 points in that era. I mean, 15,000 assists. He's talking about John. 15,000 assists in that era. I mean, 15,000 assists. What are you talking about, John? 15,000 assists in that era where you had to catch and shoot. With Karl Malone.
Starting point is 02:13:10 With Karl Malone. Would be about 24,000 in today's game. So if Zeke had Karl Malone on his team, what are we saying? What are we saying? What are we saying? If he had Dennis Rodman, Rick Mahorn. If he had Karl Malone, he would have to play defense by himself. Karl Malone.
Starting point is 02:13:24 Karl Malone. Which he can do. Karl Malone did play defense by himself Carmel. Oh, oh 32,000 points 30,000 15,000 for me. Yes. What do I have? What happened on my list? Hi John Me up there with LeBron you don't have John at all. Thank you. That's that's why you lost. Nobody's agreeing Nobody's agreeing with that that is a terrible list. Okay. Okay, so the braille LeBron James, I don't even gotta use the bronze. That's we already know that okay magic 19 and 11 so he averaged a double-double 12-time all-star times five time NBA champ three time MVP three time finals MVP ten times all NBA two time all NBA champ who on your list can beat that who's the better point guard magic the better point guard method curry only has 5,000 assists so why so he's what makes a little bit of point guard method curry only has five thousand assists. So why so he's a what makes a little bit of point guard
Starting point is 02:14:27 So what makes you a better point guard is just that right? I guess that's what he's saying When you're talking about getting passing the ball what point guards do curry is the lowest out of probably the top 40 he only has five thousand Can I ask you a question? I'm a scoring point guard. But he's a scoring point guard, so I'm using his metrics of what he did. That's why he's still three on mine. Is there a such thing as a hockey assist? Think about it.
Starting point is 02:14:55 Is there a such thing as a hockey assist? Yes. Where does the hockey assist come from? Hockey. The point guard. Boom, boom. Boom, boom. I don't get that assist. I don't get that assist. Boom, boom. Actually, it comes from the other person. The point guard wouldn't get the hockey assist.
Starting point is 02:15:11 I just said that. I don't get the assist because I pass it to him. There's a lot of hockey assists I have. I don't get the assist for setting up the whole team. Oh, so nobody else falls under that category either, huh? What do you mean? No, that's why I said there's no metric for the position that you were throwing stats in there. There's no reason to throw stats because it doesn't cover the hockey assist.
Starting point is 02:15:31 Okay, then give everybody 2,000. That's why you take it all away, Gil. You make it about skills. Give everybody 2,000. Make it about skills. Give everybody 2,000 hockey assists. No, let's just make it about skills and not stats. Give everybody 2,000 hockey assists. Let's just make it about skills, not stats. Give everybody 2,000 hockey assists.
Starting point is 02:15:45 Let's just make it about skills, man. What the fuck does that mean? Let's take the stats out. Take the stats out. What are we talking about? All right. Take the stats. Zeke is better than John Stockton.
Starting point is 02:15:56 In what? Being a point guard. What? How? Says who? If you're taking all the stats, what stats are you getting? Says going to the championship and winning it you're right You said take the stats out. That's a stat. No, it's not as an accomplishment. Everything is accomplished. That is an accomplishment
Starting point is 02:16:14 This leader is an accomplishment, so what are you talking about? Ladies and gentlemen, we could do this. What is it? What is it? This is when you have this this record is an a bigger says that is an That is an assist? When you have the assist record, it's an accomplishment. This nigga says stat is an accomplishment. A stat is an accomplishment. A stat is an accomplishment. I didn't say a stat. Rewind. I didn't say one assist.
Starting point is 02:16:33 I said the skills. He's the assist leader. That's an accomplishment. Oh, my gosh. So we're taking all of it out. Now what do we have? Skills. Who's the better one-on-one player?
Starting point is 02:16:42 What the fuck are we doing now? Who is the better team leader? You'll say who says the team who runs the team who can win as a Hold on so you're saying who runs their team better the nigga who owns the record for us No, that's the nigga that got the most assist Gil. That's not the nigga that ran the team the best But because he didn't win a championship He didn't win a championship running his team Isaiah Thomas won two championships running his team running his team
Starting point is 02:17:15 Playing point guard get down here Go this way. Let me hit screen left screen left screen left off the one foot my sit is well, it's sweat man Come on. I got it. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go this way. Let me hit this spot. Screen left. Screen left. Screen left. I'm going off the one foot. My sit is broken. Switch. Switch. Switch.
Starting point is 02:17:31 I got him. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. I still don't get it because he still got to finish his career and his career says that. What's next? It seems like we could keep this conversation going. When we head to Las Vegas for Summer League, make sure y'all tap in with us.
Starting point is 02:17:41 We're going to be out there first week of Summer League or after that first week game. But now it's time for our final Mostly Fans of this season before we start next season. He barely got more assists than Harden. Alright. Question number one comes from Aaron Talentino. When Kobe gets
Starting point is 02:18:03 his statue, would you let them put you on as a defender on it? Kobe already got a statue. He does? Did it get unveiled? I'm smoking. I just pre-did it. I pre-did it. Y'all right.
Starting point is 02:18:15 I pre-did it. I just figured he already had two statues. Kobe already got a statue. But would you be the defender on it getting cooked? Hell yeah. You'll take pride in that? Fuck yeah. He can dunk on me. He would you be the defender on it getting cooked? Hell yeah. You would take pride in that? Fuck yeah. Jalen got that.
Starting point is 02:18:26 He can dunk on me. He can do whatever the fuck he wants. That's forever. That's forever. That's forever. They're going to be like, who's this? That's Gilbert Arenas. And then when they Google it, they're going to be like, damn.
Starting point is 02:18:35 Oh, shit. He has 60. I'm about to say, yeah, he has 60. I'm about to say, they're going to be like, yo, he has 60. He has 60 that game. I like that. So question number two, our own chat wants to know, what if it was you crossed over grabbing your ankle, you still take it?
Starting point is 02:18:51 Like that? Yes, it's forever. Okay. All right. Question number two, from One Take Robbie, what guest can we anticipate to come on the show in the future? I think we need Isaiah Thomas, let it be none. You and Z got to square off Gil.
Starting point is 02:19:04 What? He got to square off? What, he going to beat me's where you're going to beat the stats. KB Hill brother, brother. Now what I'm going to do, brother, you said I was overrated, brother. No, for three, not overrated as a player for three. Good, good. No, he's not even in your top five. Like if I put, if I put Kyrie one, everybody's gonna say, Oh, he's not even in your top five. Like, like, like. He's not even in your top five. You know what I'm saying is, like, if I put, if I put Kyrie one, everybody's going to say, oh, he's overrated to be number one. Why would anyone say such a thing? That he's overrated to be the number one point guard ever? Of all, yeah. Why would anyone object to that?
Starting point is 02:19:40 What's an objection? Okay. Tell me what the objection is for. Everything. What? You have no that's yes That's but when we talk about looking at Kyrie's body of work and his skill set we say who's better than that guy At the point or school at the point at the point guard position who's better than this guy?
Starting point is 02:19:57 We can say we can say because he's a score, right? No, you're gonna bring in stats to say anything Otherwise, is he a score? The look test. Oh, I didn't know the basketball game was about look test. It is. It's what we're watching. We're watching basketball. So, so what? But you're not saying Zeke is not top five.
Starting point is 02:20:14 Wait. Oh, he is. He's not in his top five. He's not in his top five. He's not in his top five. Gil, let it be known. Let it be known. Y'all rushed me.
Starting point is 02:20:24 Y'all rushed me. To be honest, I'm not going to lie. I have four guarantees that everybody else was popping. Let it be known. Yeah, when you let it be known I have four guarantees everybody else. You had a whole piece of paper right there. It was playing space We'll do that for the last two nights. What you talking about Gary? I would do everybody get arrested Yeah, he paying Nash Tim hard away pistol P. I did Everybody had plenty of and I have four guarantees and if I even put Iverson in there because Iverson was considered a point guard eight times in his career. James Harden was only considered a point guard twice. I was hoping you'd put him in there. I did.
Starting point is 02:20:56 No, he's in my top ten. He's in your top ten. We're going to expand it out to top ten when we go to Vegas. Hell no. That's Gil. That's what I'm going to lose. We need Compton. That's what I'm going to lose. We need content. That's what you're going to lose.
Starting point is 02:21:06 Okay. No, my shit is... My shit is... Because this shit becomes good because they get to put magic in this shit. No, I got some other shit in there that's... Oh, hell no. Don't... Hey, so you said people that we want to bring on here?

Starting point is 02:21:52 Okay, mine is Shaq, Jokic, KD, Jordan, and LeBron. Kobe. Nasty. Jordan. T-Mac, KG, Shaq. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. We will debate the fuck out of that. Before LeBron came in, I always used to do Kobe and Jordan at the 2-3.
Starting point is 02:22:19 Because they played in a triangle, so they were technically small fours. I would feel that T-Mac spot with LeBron. I just feel like T-Mac or KD. For that lineup. T-Mac, yeah. T-Mac fits. When LeBron comes on the show, we can discuss it. I'm all six.
