Gil's Arena - Gilbert Arenas RETURNS To Send The Lakers To Cancun

Episode Date: May 3, 2025

LeBron & The Lakers' ELIMINATION Blows Up Gil's Arena as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena Crew react to the end of the Los Angeles Lakers season where LeBron James & Luka Doncic got bounced from the N...BA Playoffs after just 5 games and proved they were no match for Anthony Edwards & The Minnesota Timberwolves. They break down how Ant-Man became an NBA Legend in front of our eyes by packing up the GOAT's Lakers squad and discuss how notorious NBA Villain Rudy Gobert proved to be the x-factor in taking down Luka & The Lakers. They also provide a post mortem on the Lakers' Season by discussing what this team could have done differently to add a Big Man to the roster and predict the future for Luka Doncic & LeBron James, before grading JJ Redick's first season as an NBA Head Coach as the former sharpshooter struggled in his first NBA Playoff appearance. With tears in their eyes they move on to recap Game 5 of the Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors series, where the Rockets took a hostile approach to slowing down Steph Curry to get themselves back in the series. The Gil's Arena Crew debates if Houston's approach is dirty or simply playoff basketball and discuss if they can keep up this intensity to force a Game 7. Finally, they break down Adam Silver's recent comments on the coverage of NBA Basketball including a tease that Gil's idea for a USA vs The World All Star game may be coming in the future and react to Stephon Castle taking home the NBA Rookie of the Year award, giving Victor Wembanyama & the San Antonio Spurs one of the best young cores in the NBA. Starting point is 00:00:00 When does fast grocery delivery through Instacart matter most? When your famous grainy mustard potato salad isn't so famous without the grainy mustard. When the barbecue's lit, but there's nothing to grill. When the in-laws decide that, actually, they will stay for dinner. Instacart has all your groceries covered this summer. So download the app and get delivery in as fast as 60 minutes. Plus enjoy $0 delivery fees on your first three orders. Service fees, exclusions, and
Starting point is 00:00:26 terms apply. Instacart. Groceries that over-deliver. Welcome back to Gills Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa! Let's go blue! Yeah! Time for Dodgers baseball, ladies and gentlemen. How everybody feeling?
Starting point is 00:00:44 That's a nice Celtics jersey. Champion. Champion mentality. Still in the playoffs. Yeah. I'm dressed in all black today for the Lakers and Bucs. Unfortunate. The Lakers?
Starting point is 00:00:57 Y'all still play? We got basketball teams in LA? I know. I didn't know that. Baseball season, my boy. I'm switching up quick, huh? That's crazy. This ain't been 12 hours yet.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Fucking Frenchman. Y'all let a Frenchman come into our city and do that? Cannot believe it. But this is Gil Zerita presented by Underdog. Whoop, whoop. Whoop, whoop. Gil's still not with us. He did not want to be a part of this circus today.
Starting point is 00:01:19 But we do got NBA champion of the world, Swaggy P. Nick Young back here with us. You know, something the Lakers just can't do. Championship experience. Man. On this side of the couch, representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd University, Mr. B. Brandon Jennings, dressed in all black. Sad day here in the arena. But on a positive side, we got a special guest making his return to the arena
Starting point is 00:01:48 after an illustrious college career at North Carolina, including a national championship in 2009. He went on to average 13 points, six assists per game in an eight-year NBA career, including stops with the Nuggets, Kings, Rockets, and Pacers. Ty Lawson. Welcome back to Gills Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa. 13 and 6 over because there's a 10 and under and a 10 and over club. Ty in the 10 and over club.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Oh, yeah, you got to talk about that. We might have to talk about it just a little bit. But for all the fans out there, we still got two viewing options for you. Our traditional version, mobile vertical version. Pick whichever one you want to watch. Just make sure you support the show. Here's what's cracking in the arena today. The Rockets did what you'd expect a team to do with their season on the line in their Game 5 win over the Warriors.
Starting point is 00:02:35 But how will the Dubs respond in Game 6? Stephon Castle made it back-to-back rookie of the year for the Spurs. How far away is San Antonio from becoming a legit threat in the West? And the Lakers did not fulfill the prophecy after letting go Baron the Wolves prematurely in their season. Where does the purple and gold go from here? First stop, Cancun. When they come back, they got to figure it all out.
Starting point is 00:02:58 But before we get into all that, as always, this show is brought to you by Underdog. Download the app, use promo code GIVE, get up to $1,000 in bonus cash, plus a special pick. As for tonight, Mr. B has some picks up in his partner pack on the underdog app for the teams that are still in the playoffs still scratching and clawing fighting to keep their seasons alive not letting go bear coming to their home drop 27 to 24 on them you got jalen brunson higher 28.5 points nixon on on the road tonight. In Detroit, game six.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I think he had 17 last game. Big Bodega, higher 23.5 points. Okay. Pairs done well most of the time. Struggled in game five, but looking to bounce back. Game six, you got Malik Beasley higher. 2.5 three-pointers made. The clock, Kawhi Leonard, higher
Starting point is 00:03:41 36.5 points, rebounds and assists. Must win game for the Clippers tonight at home against the Joker, who you have higher 49.5 points, rebounds, and assists. If you use this partner pack, you can win up to 17 times your bread. How everybody on the couch feeling about Mr. B's picks? I don't like the cat pick. Meow. Yeah, I don't see it tonight.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I ain't going to lie. That's a big purr, bro. Nah, because he always, in the playoffs, he always disappears. Something happens. He's getting in foul trouble. Something every year. On the closeout game? It don't matter what type of game.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Closeout game, he got another game left, too. So this game, he might chill. Big chill. Is that the Pistons, too? Oh, yeah. Might be too much. What did he have last year? Yeah, it's a lot.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Last time he was in Detroit, Cat, did very well. I think they had like seven. Game three or four. They have good games to watch. Game three or four with elimination game. Okay, you're right. I'm just pointing he's been getting buckets. Man, listen.
Starting point is 00:04:35 We're going to see. I don't like him out. Because he see the Wolves won. Yeah, he might try to come out. He got to make sure that the Knicks got the better of that trade. It's in question right now. But we asked the chat if they are riding or fading with your picks tonight. Is there big guy bad news?
Starting point is 00:04:53 They're not fading, huh? 43% in the chat riding, 57% not rolling. But you still have a solid 43%. More than 800 votes. I'm not betting at this point. That's why I stopped. It's not about what they think. It's about what you think.
Starting point is 00:05:04 It's about what you do. That's why I stopped. But if you like our picks and want to ride with them, go ahead and download the Underdog app. Use promo code GIL. Get up to $1,000 in bonus cash plus a special pick. I mean, if you can't watch the show live with us on YouTube, we have audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Okay, so we're going to get right into it. Been a lot of talk online about a potential one-on-one between you, Mr. B, and you, Todd. The Oak Hill represent. Taking the jacket off. We got two Oak Hill legends. Then let's all up and nothing, straight to it. We got to get straight to it.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Let's do it. Let's do this. Before we get into baseball, we got a lot of Dodgers talk today on this. A lot of Dodgers talk. Number one team, NL West. NL West leading Dodgers. Dodgers. Is somebody dodging or you really want to talk about dodging?
Starting point is 00:05:45 I don't know. I ain't know if somebody... LA's team championship. Dodging? Who's dodging? That's what I'm saying. I don't know if you're saying somebody's dodging or you really want to talk about the Dodgers. The LA Trolley Dodgers. That's slick, though. I understand. No. So, I got to ask you first, Ty. What was your initial
Starting point is 00:06:01 reaction when you heard Mr. B call you out and say he wanted to run them once? Oh, that's what I was looking for. Well, I told you for the last six months I've been chilling and working out. I wish a nigga would just call me out. So when he did that, that's when I seen it. I was like, oh, yeah, I'm with it. Oh, you're with the shit.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Yeah, I told you, everybody, I got abs now. I didn't even have abs when I played basketball. When I was in the league, I didn't even have abs. You know, I was big chilling. I got abs when I played basketball. When I was in the league, I didn't have abs. You know, I was big children. I got abs. I'm with it. So, yeah, I couldn't wait until somebody called me out. Then Pat came out here.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Pat, you know, Pat was ready to, you know, rough the game up. Okay. I'm swollen up. I'm eating that. I want all that. I want all the smoke. So, Pat, Mr. B, whoever. It don't matter. Whoever.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Okay. Damn. Mr. B, how do you feel about that? That little energy right now. I mean, I love the energy. We need this positivity. You know, we just sitting back. We getting ready.
Starting point is 00:06:55 One on one should happen in August. So we got time. I got time to get my six pack because I know everything's got six packs. But yeah, I'll get a pack. You know, I was calling out guys that I felt that were, you know, that had better careers than me and that were better players. So, you know, I'm talking to three guys. So, I mean, he accepted the challenge.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Me and Ty, we go way back. We played a lot of games against each other. So, we got pages of playing against each other, like three or four or five. Mr. B, everybody who watches us on playback, you had your black book with all the game logs of all the people you wanted to take on one-on-one. I got game logs of him, Jeff Teague. It's pages. So, you know, that's how far we go back.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Nicely written. But in the NBA, you guys face each other 14 times, each of your teams winning seven of those matchups. But as for the ones, I got to ask you first, Mr. B, who wins if you go one-on-one? Ty said he's ready for the smoke. I just know, like, every time I play against Ty, it was 30. Oh.
Starting point is 00:07:49 So whether it was the NBA, China, if it was in the lockout game, it was 30 or more. So I just, you know, I just know, like, when I hit the ball. Oh, you're the best in Oak Hill. Out of Oak Hill, right? Out of all the guards? Listen, man, that's not even. Yes, I'm definitely the best point guard.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Okay, for sure. I'm fighting to be the best player there. Best player? But, you know, I will give Ty this, though. When I first, our first time, you know, I've seen Ty Lawson play, it was with Oak Hill. And it was at Cerritos College. They came out here and played with everybody. So, Ty Lawson is one of the reasons why I did go to Oak Hill.
Starting point is 00:08:27 But once I saw what he was doing, I was like, I'm going to do it. Ah! Ah! You know. So Ty laid the foundation with Oak Hill. Yeah. Followed in there. Mouth of Wilson, Virginia.
Starting point is 00:08:37 And then it became Brandon Jennings Foundation. I don't know about it. I can't agree with that. Brandon Jennings, best guard. I'm pretty sure put a pole up. You can put a pole up on him. Since you like the pole a lot. You are familiar with the show.
Starting point is 00:08:52 We appreciate you. We do like to run poles. Let's take it to the chat. Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm a better point guard out of Oak Hill. You know, probably, you know. Better guard. Better guard and point guard.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Either or. No, you would have been, but y'all lost, y'all see, a year. We lost against the best, you know what I'm saying? KD luckily hit a shot at the end. You're right. Junior year, we won, though. My junior year, we won. And then second year, my second year, I came back, I just swiped every award.
Starting point is 00:09:18 I had all the number one awards. I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie. You had a lot going on when you was in high school because, you know what I mean? You was from Cali, short guard, you know what I'm saying? He was putting on for short guard. I ain't going to lie. You had a lot going on when you were in high school. You know what I mean? You was from Cali. Short guard. You know what I'm saying? He was putting on for short guards.
Starting point is 00:09:28 I'm taller than you. Little guards. Okay. You know, 170 and below guards. You feel me? He was putting it on. He went overseas. Everybody was like, yo.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Wirery. He went overseas. He did stuff that people didn't do. Like, oh, yeah, I like that. You know what I'm saying? Until he got to the league. He said he gave me 30. He's probably putting up 30 shots.
Starting point is 00:09:51 But, you know, we was getting the dubs, and I was playing efficiently. My bad. I was on a different team where I had different scores, where I couldn't put up, you know, 30 shots. So you prioritized efficiency, distributing the rock, different style of point guard play, where Mr. B, you were just trying to get to it. Team play. Get some buckets. Team play.
Starting point is 00:10:06 7-7 in your career, though. Now, though... Oh, 7-7? 7-7. 14 times your team's met. A couple times I didn't play. I'm guessing. You didn't say why I was playing. What's the stats? Let us get our producers. The stats against the matchups when we matched up
Starting point is 00:10:22 against each other? You say 30-plus every game. I don't... I think we play out of them out of them 14 times I think in the NBA score like 30 like 30 like three or four times maybe once or twice, but And then we went to China and played my first game in China I saw 30 again in China Yeah, that was my first year in China, too, huh? Yeah It was our first year Yeah, I'm trying to get acclimated. But after that I'm probably Good we can only play two quarters. Oh, it wasn't like we can play the whole game
Starting point is 00:10:55 Yeah, now getting a 30 and two quarters. Oh, yeah, it should be more You got the ball every time You're not there to pass. If you don't score 30, they're shipping you out of there. They're like, all right, yo, listen. They don't even tell you. They have somebody on the way. They'd be like, yo, listen, did you see a nigga walk in?
Starting point is 00:11:14 And you're like, all right, here's your shit. Get up out of here. They'd be wild in China, dog. Wasn't it Russ? Wasn't it Russ Smith was over there? Yeah, he was over there. Dude, they was averaging 40. 45?
Starting point is 00:11:26 Like the top 10 scorers was averaging. If you average 30, you at the bottom. Like you got to get between 35. Yeah. China? Oh, yeah, no. You love China. Is it still like that, though?
Starting point is 00:11:38 Huh? Is it still like that? Yeah. Yeah. So, Mr. B, you guys had to have matchups. You averaged 13.4 points per game. Ty. You averaged 13.4 points per game. Ty, you averaged 8.4 points per game. Mr. B, you had 30 twice in those 14 meetings.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I averaged how much? 8.4. 8.4. I was basically here like two years. First couple years, I was playing 10 minutes a game. I mean, it is every game. I'm just like. 13 coups.
Starting point is 00:12:01 13 coups. You have to put a summary in this joint. Where, you know what I'm saying? Because I'm like,. 13 coups. 13 coups. You have to put a summary in this joint. Where, you know. He had 30 how many times? 30 twice. 35 once, 30 the other time. Have he had a 30? We are efforting that information right now.
Starting point is 00:12:14 No, I had 32 too. Because the first time he, our first, my rookie year, I had 32 against him. And then 35-30. So, yeah. He got the stats right here. How are you trying to add another 30? No, they're adding the information. I wish I brought my book today.
Starting point is 00:12:26 I have my book. I'm stalling right now while they put it in. We thought you were bringing your black book today, Mr. B. We asked the chat, who is the better guard out of Oak Hill between the two of you? This is Guild Arena, so I'm just letting you know. I'm prefacing with that. Mr. B in the central and vital member of the arena. I get it.
Starting point is 00:12:42 58% of the chat is rolling with Mr. B in the one-on-one. We're going to have pick-ems so people can put their money in. They can put the money up too. Yeah. Put the bread up. Yeah, yeah. This is a thing, man. Listen, listen, I'm going to make sure we all get paid. We all have a good time. We ain't going to worry about Don King coming over here trying to have us sit up there, and we shall overcome. That was a little reckless. Oh, yeah, the mechanic.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Huh? The mechanic. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. battle. Lou Williams and Jeff Teague. Teague's still active on the court. I'm worried about y'all, man. Listen, I've seen Lou play. I've seen Lou play in San Antonio. So easy, man. It's too easy, man. He was going against a dude 6'8", three dribbles. Yeah, no dribbles. You've seen the tweet I said. I said he's a little too quiet, so I've got to read the room on that nigga. He hasn't said nothing.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I don't like that. Niggas that talk, you can get a good feel for them. He hasn't said a word. It's always the quiet one. He's chilling. Yeah, I know you. He's chilling. He's chilling.
Starting point is 00:13:56 But that's Lou, though, right? That's Lou coming off the bench. All right. What do you think? It was thin. I don't like it. So, Mr. B, you mentioned it a little bit earlier, but are we actually going to see this one-on-one tournament?
Starting point is 00:14:07 You're saying August. Can we get some more details? When is this thing going down? Yeah, we're trying to get it settled. I know me and Tim, we was talking on the phone. We're trying to figure out a way to do it differently. You know, a lot of one-on-ones is not really skilled basketball. It's more like just I'm going to rough you up.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I'm going to foul you. Yeah. So, we're trying to find ways to where, like as we would play in the NBA, how we would play spots, right? One on one spots, maybe we'll do spots, maybe we'll do full court one on one. But just different ways to where guys can actually play skill. Because we don't wanna be out there, me and Ty playing, I foul him, he'll foul me, then I foul him, I foul, and then we're just sitting there, five straight plays, and we're just fouling each other. And it's like, I thought and then we're just sitting there five straight plays and we're just found each other and it's like all right now we're just sitting there tired so trying to figure out a way to where you know we can make it a real a real one on one thing but different but different way so August for sure is what we're shooting for first week of August when basketball is down and you know we can get this thing cracking. We're going to keep basketball alive here in the arena. Man. Yeah, because it's a tough
Starting point is 00:15:05 time right now. Sounds like a three dribble? Three dribbles, but it can be three dribbles we can get from the post, we can go from the side, we can go from the block, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:13 the elbow, we can go on top of the key. Oh, you pick the spot, okay. Like, you know, like, and then you got to win. But if you want it not to be like so posted,
Starting point is 00:15:20 you should do like five dribbles, let them get in their bag a little bit. Yeah, or five seconds. That's cool. five dribbles. Let them get in their bag a little bit. Yeah, or five seconds. That's cool. Four dribbles. Five seconds.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yeah. It's got to be at least three. But I'm just saying, like, if we were in practice playing, if we was all in practice, right, on the NBA team playing one-on-one, how would we be playing? Three dribbles. Like, we were three dribbles. How about more?
Starting point is 00:15:39 I've seen Ant-Man out there. I mean, now. In practice? That's what I'm saying. In practice? Nah. You seen him last night? He was dribbling for like two. Oh, no, no. I'm talking about, mean, now. In practice? That's what I'm saying. In practice? Nah, you seen him last night? He was dribbling for like two minutes. Oh, no, no, I'm talking about,
Starting point is 00:15:48 I'm talking about, but like if we in practice, so say like we in practice and we all playing King of the Court. Oh, that type of thing. Like, we're going to play three, like you're going to get to your shit. Like, you're not going to, you know.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Or timeline. You got like five seconds to get a shot at it. Yeah. You're not going to be out here trying to tire me out for 10 seconds, 14 seconds. Which, I mean, we know. But you got abs now, you got stamina. Come on, man, get a ball. Mr. Yeah, you're not going to be out here trying to tire me out for 10 seconds 14 seconds, which you know, you got stamina man get a Mr. B. You've been at local
Starting point is 00:16:10 community centers getting your your ball on y'all ready to go. Yeah, I think about the viewer the viewer wants to know why you're dribbling around for 10 seconds. You feel me like no, no, no. Well, our chat is a little unique. So well, maybe I want to see Brandon getting in his bag a little bit. I mean, all I need is three dribbles, three or four dribbles. I don't need, come over, like, you know, let's just get right to it.
Starting point is 00:16:31 I like the five seconds. Five seconds, right? That's kind of cool, too. Because in the NBA, they go five, four, you know, then you got to get to your bag, so. But yeah, no, we're figuring out, it's coming around August, so, you know, we got two, three months to get in shape. Everybody, I'll definitely have my six-packs since Ty over there is cheating.
Starting point is 00:16:50 You know. Big Swaggy will have our packs as well. Our six-packs as well. Some fine money. It's going to be like best out of three. Go to the next round. Yeah, probably like best out of three where you got to win that spot. And then, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:06 we'll probably do an undercard. You know? We'll bring somebody in as a special guest. Uh-oh. We got surprises in store. So, you heard it from here from Mr. B.
Starting point is 00:17:16 That's no y'all. I like that. One-on-one challenge. You know what? I like that he didn't run from this and you didn't, like, not show up today.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Like, y'all both here talking trash to each other and it's cool, man. You know some people don't show up when other guests come in. I'm just saying. Let's keep this thing moving. Before we get to extensive Dodgers talk, we have to talk about another team in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:17:40 But before we do that, we got a special guest coming through. Special guest? Back to Gil's Arena. Who we got? We ain't seen him in a minute. But he had to be here for this conversation discussion. Ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Oh, shit. I don't know. I don't know. Ladies and gentlemen. A man of his word. I'm going to get. Ladies and gentlemen, a man of his word. I'm going to get a back of your seat. Ladies and gentlemen, Gilbert Arena is back in the arena. Wait, what? Gil has returned.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Hey, dog. Why you got no undershirt on? It's okay, Gil. I'm going to get a back of your seat. I'm just saying, so you just think you can sit here like you the host? You got to have it. You gotta have it. Sorry! Homie, don't play that.
Starting point is 00:18:28 I'm talking about shit, man. Come on, man. Look at the pot here. Baby potter. Uh-uh. Baby potter in the stock. I miss you, man. I miss you, man.
Starting point is 00:18:36 We do miss you, Gil. We do miss you. You hit me again, I'm gonna fuck you. Ladies and gentlemen, Gilbert Arenas has returned to the arena. I'm not here for a long time. I'm not here for a long time. I'm not here for a long time. I'm not here for a long time.
Starting point is 00:18:44 I'm not here for a long time. I'm not here for a long time. I'm not here for a long time again, I'm going to fuck you up. Ladies and gentlemen, Gilbert Arenas has returned to the arena. I'm not here for a long time. But on a serious note, Gil. I just don't want to dodge the smoke. Good to have you back. That's what I'm saying. I'm glad you didn't dodge it, man. I lost a bet. You made a bet, said if the Lakers lost
Starting point is 00:19:01 in five, you would wear a clown suit. Man of your word. We got betrayed. This is sick, bro. Coaching players, front office, getting clowned by Mark Williams. In all sincerity, good to have you back in the arena. Obviously, unfortunate circumstances, but happy to hear that Elijah's doing well, progressing nicely.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yeah. Hard to have this conversation with you in a full clown suit, but... Where you find that at, though? That's hard. At the Laker store.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Trying to just go give you some gear and it's just all this was... All they had for next year was this with a whole bunch of clowns. That is the official uniform
Starting point is 00:19:43 of Los Angeles Lakers fastball at this very moment. Which is why I'm a Dodgers fan. Come on over to this side. Yeah, I'm good. I got my Dodgers on the other side. It got Lakers on it. Lakers in five.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Technically not incorrect. We didn't say which way it was going to go. We just said Lakers in five. Shannon Fry. I way it was going to go. We just said Lakers and five. Facts. Shannon Fry. I knew it was over. Shannon Fry. I knew it was over, man. Once they took them down, man, I was all down.
Starting point is 00:20:13 The five is gone. That's what I said. Why you niggas ain't watching no games, man? They took them out. We did have tickets to go to the Lakers game last night. We said no. No? No. Knew it was to the Lakers game last night. We said no. No? No.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Knew it was coming. Bad omen, man. Everybody who voted for the Lakers, man. Go on. Out of here. I was in there. It was, I mean. That's pretty quiet.
Starting point is 00:20:34 It was sad. Like, even just going to the game, like going to the arena, it was like. I think Sunday was the day people realized it was over. Yeah. It was so sad Sunday. Sent some mojo bags to the arena people realized it was over. Yeah. It was so sad Sunday. Sent some mojo bags to the arena. Did not make it. Security would not let it through.
Starting point is 00:20:52 Yeah, I had tickets. Lucafeld. I was like, nah, I had tickets. I was like, I don't go to a funeral service, dog. They ain't gonna be letting me. No funerals on the Lord's Wednesday. That's a weekend thing. But let's get into it.
Starting point is 00:21:06 So, unfortunately, we have to talk about an unprofessional basketball game that went down in the city of Los Angeles last night. But as you know, I don't even like basketball like that. I'm a Dodgers fan lifelong. Shout out to the crew. Let's go blue. Before the game even started, J.J. Redick had a testy exchange with a reporter who questioned his substitution patterns from game four when Redick stuck with his starters for the entire
Starting point is 00:21:28 second half. Let's take a listen to that. As you watch the film, what do you recall about your thought process in the moment, sticking with the five you stuck with in the fourth quarter the other day? And is there an assistant or someone maybe that you'll lean on tonight, maybe to try to get some other guys involved if that opportunity presents itself? Are you saying that because I'm inexperienced and that was an inexperienced decision that I made? Do you think I don't talk to my assistants about substitutions every single time out? No, I just think there's a lot of coaches lean on their assistants in those situations. As do I, every single time.
Starting point is 00:22:09 That's a weird assumption. Thank you, Coach. There's a difference between a question and an assumption, Judge. He just asked you a question, but that leads you to wonder if somebody amongst the Lakers' assistant coaching ranks. J.J. not listening to us.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Little Darvin Ham. Little Ham. Who listens to the assistant coaches? Everybody. Not even the players. Little Darvin. You got a couple in there. You got the first assistant coach.
Starting point is 00:22:36 You got one or two that's a boy you like, oh yeah. What do you think about this? He did that by himself. There's no way you're supposed play that them five for 24 minutes straight He thought it was 2k Julie that was a problem with that me I'm just saying like what did he do wrong? You can't play LeBron 24 minutes. I don't care. Age 40. I mean, age 40, I get it.
Starting point is 00:23:09 You need a breather or something. Give him 20 seconds. Let him hit the inhaler one time. Call a timeout. Did he burn all his timeouts? Did he take some timeouts home? No. They used all their timeouts because on that last possession,
Starting point is 00:23:29 that's when the Timberwolves challenged what ended up being the slap on the wrist foul on Ant-Man. So they couldn't advance the ball in game four. Unfortunate series of events. But who was they supposed to put in again? I mean, you got Bronny. Dalton Kinnick. Yeah, like why didn't they play Dalton Kinnick at all? Jackson Hayes. Jackson Hayes? Yeah, Jackson Hayes. Oh. No, theyeki, though? Jackson Hayes? Because he's a –
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah, Jackson Hayes. Oh. No, you too? Because they've been balling. No. They've been playing very well. I mean, have they been playing at all? We had Austin Reeves, who is supposed to be our third –
Starting point is 00:23:57 he didn't even play very well. So why are we going to play somebody less experienced than him? Somebody got to get – Some old man just to see. Yeah. Papad de Limon. I'm trying to figure out when did the stars actually sit in the playoffs? Because I heard Charles Barkley say, y'all need to sub.
Starting point is 00:24:12 And then I looked at all his playoff stints, 46 minutes, 47 minutes, 43 minutes, 48. 53 minutes? I never came out, so I don't even know what the argument was about. I'm trying to figure out in the playoff, when do you... Brunson, when do you... I didn't even know the star player actually came out the game. You can't count the Knicks. The Knicks, they don't...
Starting point is 00:24:35 No, I'm just saying... You've been wild all year. But if you go through... The tear plantation... Go through history. I've seen Ant-Man come out. Yeah, I mean, shit, he got... He still won.
Starting point is 00:24:44 He got a couple... he got some couple people so but we don't we did we don't have no bench like that either way nobody yeah but why would you not throw Dalton connectin because the nigga we got he ain't played in the last one even, 10 games? Even the last game. This game, you should at least throw him in there. Let's try it. Something. You got to see something different. They threw an old boy in there that didn't play the whole year.
Starting point is 00:25:12 What's his name? They threw him in there. He didn't even practice with him. Let's get to the nitty-gritty. Tom was set. Lakers met business at home as they tried to extend the series to six games. Here are the lowlights from this particular game that was played last evening in the arena formerly known as Stable Center.
Starting point is 00:25:28 The Lakers went small, hopping to go with the starting lineup of Rui, Black and Mild, Dorian, Finney, Smith, LeBron, Austin Reeves, and the Slovenian Jesus, Luka Doncic. Jackson Hayes did not play in this game. Maxi Kleba, who was in the Luka trade but has not played since January 25th
Starting point is 00:25:42 due to right foot surgery, even got five minutes in his first action as a Laker the idea of going small was to play Rudy Gobert off the floor as we've seen in the past but the opposite occurred as Rudy absolutely dominated the game in an absolutely sickening moment for the game I used to love patient zero dropped 27 points on 12 for 15 shooting to go along with 24 rebounds. Both were playoff career highs for him. More on Rudy to come later. Julius Randle had 23 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:26:10 He was 8 for 16 from the field. Also had 5 rebounds and 4 assists in his 32 minutes. Ant-Man struggled from deep, going 0 for 11 from distance, but still had 15 points as he shot 5 for 8 inside the arc. Ant contributed in other ways as well, grabbing 11 boards, dishing out eight assists, getting three steals while going turnover free in his 43 minutes. Three-point struggles weren't limited to Ant as the Wolves shot seven for 47 on threes for the game. That is 15%, ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:26:37 But they were 29 for 42 on two-point shots in the game. That is close to 70%. On the Lakers' side, Luka let the team in scoring with 28 points, but left the game with one minute left in the first half as he was dealing with a back issue. And you can see it was impacting him for the remainder of the game. Luka also had nine dimes, seven boards in 40 minutes. Four-year-old LeBron James in his 22nd year of playing NBA basketball had 22.7 in six and 40 minutes. We'll have more on him in his future in just a moment. Rui Hachimura was a bright spot, 23 points on 9
Starting point is 00:27:06 for 16 shooting, 5 for 8 from 3, while Austin Reeves struggled scoring 12 points on 5 for 14 shooting. Austin was just 2 for 10 from 3 in his 41 minutes. And as a result, Purple and Gold fails to advance past the first round for the second
Starting point is 00:27:22 consecutive season. I think we have seen enough. We get it. We know what happened. Lakers, 2-12 in their last 14 playoff games. And the Wolves eliminate the Lakers in five. So give the Lakers in five. Not inaccurate, as we said. We didn't say which way.
Starting point is 00:27:44 You went small to play them off the court, give the Lakers in five. Not inaccurate, as we said. We didn't say which way. You went small to play root. You play him off the court, but you put in the zone. Yeah, they put a zone in. That's why he was open so much. Seal the bottom. Yeah, it made no sense. If you're going to go small, you got to play man. So, he doesn't affect you on offense.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Because any high, low, any ducking, like you. Where they played a 3-2 when they should have been playing a 2-3. Or a 1-3-1. If you see the game, they were just sending somebody to the middle every time. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You can see them just like pushing somebody to the middle give it to him. We could all see it Yeah, that's what I say. You play a 1 3 1 and then it just it just forced corner shots and you keep He went to college so I don't understand
Starting point is 00:28:39 On the bright side, you wouldn't know to go 1 33-1, not 2-3, nor 3-2? It's his first year, man. But he went to college. No excuse. Huh? He went to college. First year. This is the co-host of Mind the Game podcast season one. First year, though.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Meaning that if they have a big that's dominant, you stop the pass from the middle. That's the most important because you don't want that. You know, you're going to put Julius in the middle, and then from there, he can see everything. I think they just didn't expect him to go to him. No lob and everything like that, but that's also an in-game change where you got to be like, oh, they are
Starting point is 00:29:09 doing this. Let's switch it up, which first fucking five minutes, you know, to change that shit up. On the bright side, though, when this Luka trade went down, you did point out it'd be Lakers championship 2026. This is only 2024. No, no, no, no, no. Look, I said 2026, and then once they started playing well, I'm like, oh, shit, we can sneak one this year. No, no, no, no, no. Look, I said 2026.
Starting point is 00:29:25 And then once they started playing away, I'm like, oh, shit, we can sneak one this year. Yeah, definitely. We're trying to sneak one. Did not have aspirations of winning a championship this year. We're happy with whatever happened. At the end of the day, the defense, you can't complain about the defense because motherfuckers only scored 103 points. We couldn't score. We had the worst. We had the worst
Starting point is 00:29:45 fourth quarter in NBA? Bad matchup. No, we got two of the worst fourth quarter type of players where LeBron James in history, his fourth quarter his fourth quarter
Starting point is 00:30:01 play, he slows the ball down. He plays really slow in the fourth quarter. And you add Luka, too. I mean, you're talking about, I'm pretty sure they're 17. They're scoring about 17 to 21 in the fourth quarter, which is not going to win games. That's a bad matchup. Yeah, they just out-younged us.
Starting point is 00:30:19 We'll talk more Lakers in a second, but let's salute the winners of this series. After the game, Ant-Man commented on the Wolves winning the five-game series. You know what makes it feel even better is that they said Lakers in five and the Wolves won in five. So I think
Starting point is 00:30:35 that makes it feel ten times better. That's like my own answer. No need to be disrespectful. The Lakers have won a championship. Yeah, Lakers in five. We didn't say win or lose. We didn't say win or lose. You can wind back the tape.
Starting point is 00:30:51 It was merely the Lakers in five. That shit hurt, bro. Huh? That shit hurt, bro. This shit hurt, bro. It do. It's like just being probably. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Listen, it don't hurt as bad because Rashad and King is not here. So it don't hurt that bad. Why they not here? Why they not here? They may not be with us today. I don't think we knew Laker was about to lose. We didn't anticipate. Nobody anticipated them losing.
Starting point is 00:31:18 We didn't anticipate this happening. But back to Ant. If you know Ant, he wasn't done talking his shit. But luckily, because Monday next week, there ain't no Lakers talk. I'll tell y'all, I'm tired of hearing about the Lakers. There ain't no Lakers talk. We are a Dodgers program now. Now y'all got to talk regular sports.
Starting point is 00:31:31 21 and 10 at the NL West. I'm on LeBron. Let's look at Ant. I'm walking. I'm minding my business, man. How y'all going to be fucked with me? I just sent y'all a nigga home. Hey, how they going to do that?
Starting point is 00:31:39 They be talking shit. Man, they be talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm talking shit. I'm minding my business, man. How y'all going to be fucked with me? I just sent y'all a nigga home. Hey, how they going to do that? They be talking shit.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Man, they be talking shit all week. Hey, all the angles and what they say. Lakers in five. And then, look, when we was up 3-1, they said Lakers in seven. And they said it. Go to hell today. Hey, the eye of the tower said, hey, good guy going to die in this movie. Hey, good guy going to die in this movie.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Hey, Boris Chestnut die in this movie. Hey, good guy gonna die in this movie. Hey, Morris Chestnut died in this movie. I appreciate and respect it for his Morris Chestnut reference. I love it. Morris Chestnut. That's why I got my Ant-Man. Ant-Man. Not right now. The Morris Chestnut reference, some of you may know Ricky Baker in the classic film,
Starting point is 00:32:23 Boys in the Hood. Yeah. Came to a tragic end. I think it was because he picked USC as his college, but not a good decision maker. Should have just baked the fish instead of frying it, but that's neither here nor there. Ant-Man averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists in this series. Over the last two postseasons, Ant has picked up series wins over KD, Jokic,
Starting point is 00:32:43 and now Luka and LeBron. So let's give Ant his love. We got to believe Ant-Man is on the verge of becoming a legend. Some smoke for Ant. This is smoke. Nah, hell no. Give him real smoke. Give Ant some smoke.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Give him the smoke, bro. Smoke machine. Wow. Pressing it. Ain't that a bitch. That's crazy. You would do that. No smoke for Ed, huh?
Starting point is 00:33:07 Smoke machine not working. They fucking up in the back. That's crazy. Ain't cold, bro. She's all fucked up. Every day. No, I'm just fucking around. I just didn't activate it.
Starting point is 00:33:17 It's good to go. It's fine. Thank you, though. That's even crazier. We got a very talented crew here. I just didn't push the button. Y'all believe Ed Man is on the verge of becoming a legend? A legend?
Starting point is 00:33:30 Oh, yeah. No question. In this trajectory right now, I'm like, yeah. Yeah, a legend for sure. Like, when you throw words out there, that kind of like, can we just say, like, a Hall of Famer or, like, an elite? Is a Hall of Famer not a legend? No. But I think Ant-Leg Legendary on and off the court.
Starting point is 00:33:47 He's becoming a legend for sure. Does not like to strap up? The shit he just do. Walk the streets after whooping the Laker ass, you walk in the streets. As you all know, the hotel's right there. So we saw Dylan Brooks a couple years ago. That's a deal, though. That bill's ore. That's a swag.
Starting point is 00:34:07 When he won, he won it for game one. When he lost, he walked. Either way, you're the people. I'm out here with the people. I'm out here with y'all fans. Don't show me no love, man. Thank you, man. I love it.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Shout out to Ant's boy, rocking all red, not getting pressed by anybody in the vicinity. The fact that they stand over is the bad part. Oh, they going out. What you mean? You got to stay over. You got to. No, no, I mean, even before, because he's going back to the hotel, that means they staying the night.
Starting point is 00:34:34 They staying the night. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. It is LA, you know. Yeah, for sure. I mean, yeah, when I was leaving, I saw they blocked everything. I said, oh, yeah, they staying the night. They wasn't going back home to Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:34:45 They knew they was going to win. They went out to the party. They had a private little party. And they came here, won, took y'all girls. They came here, won, took the girls. Wherever they went, they stayed open late. Bando worked with Sean Courtside. He took her.
Starting point is 00:35:00 That is a report that Bando's work was. What happened? Commandeered by him and him. I paid all up front. I paid all up front. Very special. That's mine, baby. That's mine.
Starting point is 00:35:11 50 Cent. Have a baby by me, baby. Me and me. Hey. Only 23 years old, but. Damn. Why be on this show? I like the legend.
Starting point is 00:35:19 I love it. You might be. You might start. You might. Legend talk. I like that. Nah. But add it to a list. Hey, only 23 years old, but they why I love it You might really might start you might legend talk. I like that but added to it I mean look these last two postseason we could say whatever we want
Starting point is 00:35:33 Knocking KD out sweeping them and see Always gonna be over Katie see Katie got swept a brown one one game That's 40 I swept. Brown won one game. So he's just always up KD. At 40. Always up KD somehow. You got to throw that in. A very important game in hindsight. Makes sense. Legacy game for the Lakers as well.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Got to always throw that at 40. Yeah. You know, they like to throw in like the 40-year-old and then try to have his resume against some 20-year-olds. Yeah. You know, Kobe when he was in his. Kobe, when he was in his prime. Jordan, when he was in his prime. The fuck does that mean? It did tell President Obama that he's the truth.
Starting point is 00:36:12 But LeBron did co-sign. I like co-signing. LeBron did co-sign. Hey, do y'all know Magic Johnson and Kareem Maduja Mora got swept in the finals? You don't say, Gil. Mm-hmm. 1989?
Starting point is 00:36:24 1989. Wow. That's crazy. How did I know? The year I was born. Detroit Pistons. say, Gil. Mm-hmm. 1989? 1989. Wow. That's crazy. How did I know? Yeah, I was born. Detroit Pistons. Oh, I didn't know that. Swept.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Didn't know that. Nobody throw that against their legacy. Kareem, 41 years old at that time, too, if I'm not mistaken. Kareem was 40. When Kareem was 41, he was like, oh, he's 41. What do you expect? Stats wasn't really, you know, people would point stuff out. Nobody knew.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Nobody cared. Nobody was doing that. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. Nobody knew. Nobody was really doing that. Okay. Nobody really cared to look it up now. You know what I'm saying? Is your guy retiring so it can be all Luka? It's our guy. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:36:51 You don't want that. Who? You don't want that. I'm a Luka fan. You don't want to leave Luka out there by himself. What's the future for the Lakers, though, if Brown do retire? We're going to talk about all that stuff. Right now we're giving the Timberwolves their flowers.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Very passionate fan base. Very respectful fan base. So we asked the chat, did Ant-Man prove he is a legend? 62% of the chat says yes. And we're talking about obviously he's going to have a long career ahead of him. But these last two postseasons, what he's been able to accomplish with this Timberwolves squad, going to the Western Conference Finals last year, eliminating Joker, eliminating KD last season, defeating Luka and LeBron,
Starting point is 00:37:27 Staples Center, Los Angeles. Man, listen, brother, brother, brother, brother. Let's get this Laker talk over with, man, so I can go back upstairs, man. You're not leaving me. I'm going back upstairs, man, on this Ant-Man talk. We got another series to talk about Ant-Man. We have a full series
Starting point is 00:37:43 to talk about Ant-Man. No, a full series to talk about Ant-Man. No, give Ant-Man his flowers. We can give him his flowers Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, because he's still going to be playing. No, we're going to still talk about him. So let's talk about him today, because this is some shit nobody expected. What did he do? He got the Lakers out in five.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yeah, got them out in five. Nobody thought that. He made a white man get up out the media chair. You see J.J. Wettick loses and turn red. He did. He did media chairs. Yeah, where it's loses turn rain You know, what's over are you saying cuz I'm inexperienced I almost said the N-word. But as we talk about this, we talk about the future face of the league.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Ant-Man definitely in that mix to become the future face of the NBA. What does Ant-Man need to accomplish to become the face of the league? Just win. He's going to have to get past Stefano, which is going to be tough. No, that's going to be... Jalen Green and Shane Goode.
Starting point is 00:38:42 You got to get past these guys. You got to get past this guy. Consistency. Yeah. Just keep doing what you're doing, year after year, then, you know. Just take each round by... Yeah. And being consistent.
Starting point is 00:38:55 I mean, like you said, when a legend, you think about a legend, you just remember it. It can be any situation, but after he did all this, beat Braun, KD, and all that, he's gonna be remembered by even the young kids. So I think he's gonna be a legend regardless all that he's gonna be remembered by even the young kids And so I think he's gonna be a legend regardless, but he's got to be consistent with what he's doing everything to take care of So can he send Steph home? I think so, but it doesn't You don't get I mean you get credit because it's the name but like is that you didn't send the brown home You're saying Luca home It's a it's a it'suka because Luka is the same age.
Starting point is 00:39:26 He is the star. You know, like, you know, when Pistons. But LeBron's still on there. That's when Pistons put the Lakers on when they were champions. Nobody talked about Kareem. And he is the Hall of Famer. He is. At that time, shit, he was the number one player ever.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Yeah, but. He was. There was no Jordan. He was the, shit, he was the number one player ever. There was no Jordan. He was the number one. He was the GOAT. When they sent him home, it was magic talk. Yeah, but still LeBron James. This isn't the Luka, though. I mean, I get it's Luka, but it's
Starting point is 00:39:58 still LeBron James, though. But that's what I'm saying. When the GOAT got sent home, swept. Nobody said nothing because he was 41. No one cared. Well, I mean, we don't know that. We got to go back to...
Starting point is 00:40:08 I already did. I already did. We already researched it. In 1989? They already did. Yeah, they didn't... He was old. It's not like they're going
Starting point is 00:40:16 against a motherfucking Titan. Nobody could talk about it like that. That's a different... This was pre-goat talk discussion. Pre-goat talk. But we could put ourselves back in that time. It was more magic than anything.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Because magic was still popping. I think it's just the way he's doing it. You know what I'm saying? He over there biting LeBron up. Give him this. Where you going, little nigga? That's what he's doing. Shit like that is what...
Starting point is 00:40:36 Yeah. Half court, he come in there like... He want LeBron. You know what I'm saying? If Luka was the problem, he would have went to Luka. He going to wherever, you know what I'm saying? How Kobe was when he played Jordan. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:46 I won't say that. That's 55. I won't say that. Nobody remember that. We call that LD. I remember that. Yeah, we do. We remember that.
Starting point is 00:40:53 No, it don't go against Jordan. I remember. I remember the date because he left us. I gave him 41. And then they played a game. Then he went to Seattle. Then from Seattle, they left early. He was partying in LA.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Kobe heard about it. What? Partying here? He ain't resting? Then he partied the whole full next day. Came into the league a little tip-tip. 55. Sit your drunk ass down.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Sit your drunk ass down. Come out here and disrespect me like that. That's O-M-J, right? 55. Wait, wait, wait. Say it well, motherfucker. You was in the league then? Yeah, I was in the league then.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Yes. Yeah. Oh, my mother coming in there waving to your friends and shit. You played against your 41. Oh, yeah, he ain't ready. 41. All right. So that's how they feel about but that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:41:39 But you know, one kid no one knew that no one cares. They don't talk about it. What I'm saying is, when people talk about, oh, you're not a top five, like I heard Charles Barkley, you're not a top five player if you lose this series
Starting point is 00:41:50 and you're 40 years old. Nigga, where were you at 40? Talking. Talking. Right? Where were you? When you, what was your last year
Starting point is 00:41:57 looking like? Yeah. Houston, in fact, they complaining about you trying to get on the treadmill and stuff. You know what I mean? But those are the people that are sitting there gauging somebody because you're trying to figure
Starting point is 00:42:07 out how to discredit someone you wasn't even that dude at 40 38 37 to even be compared to even have an opinion that that'd be the thing i hate like like i just said he was katie curry y'all doing what y'all doing at this age and you get to talk your shit all you old motherfuckers y'all wasn't these guys at that age you wasn't putting up these numbers for you to even throw dirt on them you should be doing what we used to do when Dirk last year and his ass out there
Starting point is 00:42:36 looking like a hit man we okay man we're praising his last year Steve Nash in the back we're praising Jordan coming in everybody Steve Nash and the Mad Max, we're praising. Jordan coming in, everybody was in awe. We didn't give a fuck. If he scored 20, his 20 was a championship.
Starting point is 00:42:50 We knew it was his last year, though. We didn't know it was LeBron last year. It don't matter. We still protected that age. Like, niggas right now at the same age, Al Horford, balling. Chris Paul, balling. LeBron James you suck But think about how bad they talk about him how does the
Starting point is 00:43:16 Horford feel we don't even talk about him because we're so bit like if this is the standard and we're looking at it like yuck Everybody else who's playing normal or be, you don't even look at it anymore. But if Al Horford was playing like he was 20-some years old, we'd be talking about it. If he was playing, if he was averaging, what, 25, 7, and 7? LeBron doing that. That's why we talking. If he was averaging 25. He don't slow down.
Starting point is 00:43:36 If he was averaging. That's why people talk. If he was averaging 25, 7, and 7, it'd be goat talk, right? If LeBron was looking like an old motherfucker, I promise you nobody would be saying nothing. Yeah. Well, then that's, but that's the bad part. You seen the ducky out there doing that? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Come on, man. But that's what I'm saying. And I don't want him to retire. That's what I'm saying. You're looking at a 40 year old and you're using criteria as if he was 20. I don't like that. LeBron been in the top so long. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:44:01 First was Bronny. They could attack him because of Bronny. Now this, they're attacking him because of this. I mean, he had this unbelievable shield around him because of the greatness
Starting point is 00:44:09 he had. I feel like this is a time where everybody can at least get a shot. You know what I'm saying? So that's why they're doing it. Okay, so I'll ask you a question then.
Starting point is 00:44:15 How can you get a shot? You should be... I'm not saying that's why people are doing it. So because we've already had the standard on the 99.999% of anybody at this age, whoever, right? The fact that the narrative of you can't be a top five now or you ain't the top three or we're moving you this,
Starting point is 00:44:39 does that actually say how great he really is that their insecurity moves him even at 40, 41? Exactly. That's what I'm basically saying. Yeah. It's been like that. It's like your insecurity that you're trying to use this because no matter what Michael Jordan did in the Wizards, no one gave two shits. It was a free pass.
Starting point is 00:44:59 This wasn't part of his legacy. But it's because LeBron I think it's because LeBron went to the Lakers and the Lakers. And the Lakers hold such a, like, you know what I'm saying, the franchise. So when LeBron came to the Lakers, they expected LeBron to bring them rings, rings, rings. They brought them on.
Starting point is 00:45:14 They pretended it didn't work. They called it the Mickey Mouse ring, Mr. B. Yeah. Like, I'm just like, I never hear anyone compare this age LeBron versus Michael Jordan that age. No one does that. It's always Michael Jordan. I've been saying that.
Starting point is 00:45:31 It's rings. I've been saying that. Like, we know what Michael Jordan looked like at 40. We know what LeBron looked like at 40. Right, right. So, how can Michael Jordan's 19 and 20 be fine? He don't move to number two or move to number three, but LeBron moves everything.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Wait, you're talking about they said top five of all time? Yeah, he was. No, no, no. Wherever Charles Barkley is, Charles Barkley said if he loses this round, he's moving him out of the top five. He can't say no. I don't know about that. They want to pick the win.
Starting point is 00:46:05 They were supposed to be, they were third. They were supposed to be, his second year when he got rid of Rip Hamilton, and they brought in Jerry Stockhouse and brought in those vets, they were supposed to finish third in the East. And they didn't make the playoffs, right? No, they didn't make the playoffs. They did not. No one cared.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Let's get back to it. We're just having fun watching. It was Michael Jordan coming in for us. Yeah, pretty much. Black Jesus. I remember back then, I'm from D.C. I was happy to coming in. Yeah, pretty much. Black Jesus. I remember back then. I'm from D.C. I was happy to see you.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Oh, you're here. I'm going to the game. That's it. Oh, you score? You seen that? That's how I was going back then. Let's think about the things he's been doing, though, since, like, I don't know if he knows, but don't have a dad, still going out there, not getting in trouble for 20-some years,
Starting point is 00:46:46 brother. Nothing knock on wood. Only thing he did was ran up on Stephen A out of all his career. That's the most like backlash he got is running up on Stephen A. No, you said it first, black. That was the blackest shit he did. It was black. It was black.
Starting point is 00:47:01 That was the blackest shit he did. Blackest shit he did. Well, he did it because he was black for his son. Yeah, for his son. That's the only time you got him out his character. Not a character, but out of his self. Was talking about his son. Running up on Steve and A.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Told you. You don't hear about LeBron getting caught up in this, doing this, getting caught with pictures. You don't hear none of that shit. That's what I said. You don't even hear. Where did he learn that from though? He got taught it. That's what I'm saying. You don't even hear, any team he I said. You don't even hear. Where did he learn that from, though? He got taught it.
Starting point is 00:47:26 That's what I'm saying. You don't even hear any team he's ever been on, you've never heard another player actually get in trouble outside. That's crazy. So not one player, not a speeding ticket. You've never heard no news on any other player getting Tristan Thompson, all that shit he was doing. When LeBron left, that's when, oh, we got video of Tristan Thompson, all that shit he was doing. Yeah. When LeBron left, that's when,
Starting point is 00:47:47 oh, we got video of Tristan Thompson at the club kissing a girl. You didn't hear about none of that shit before. LeBron was getting that video deleted. But we asked the chat,
Starting point is 00:47:54 will Ant-Man be the face of the league? 22 years. That's a lot. We're going to talk about LeBron's future in just a second. But we asked the chat,
Starting point is 00:48:00 will Ant-Man be the face of the league? 70% of the chat think so, but we're all prisoners of the moment. Unfortunately, we have to give props to Rudy Gobert for taking advantage of the Lakers' lack of size. Gil asked the chat, will Amman be the face of the league? 70% of the chat think so, but we're all prisoners of the moment. Unfortunately, we have to give props to Rudy Gobert for taking advantage of the Lakers' lack of size. Gil, this is the last time we were talking Lakers here on Gil's
Starting point is 00:48:11 300% by 100. Woo woo. Until the fall. That was for your ass. But we have to talk about the freshman who busted the Lakers' ass. Gobert did that for your ass. I took Gobert. Yesterday? You took the hire? No, no. I took Gobert in my draft. Oh, see.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Remember when he started training? I'm going to say, you probably killed that, dude. So Gobert's 27.24 rebound performance was impressive for sure. So besides Gobert, only Jokic, Giannis, AD, and LeBron have posted 20-20 games in the playoffs this decade. What did Gobert prove in the Game 5 clincher for the Wolves? See, when you go small small you're in trouble. When you go small you go fall. I mean, he did what he was supposed to do.
Starting point is 00:48:50 I mean, yeah. It wasn't nothing crazy. He was getting involved. He got to learn how to adjust a little bit though. Y'all keen on people though? He got to learn how to adjust a little bit during games. He did what he was supposed to do. First year.
Starting point is 00:49:00 First year though. It happens. Nah, you're supposed to be able to see that, dog. If you look at the film, you got assistants behind you. You got iPads. I'm looking. I'm like, yo,
Starting point is 00:49:09 how are they killing this? All right, Ben, we're going to switch this up. Or somebody got to tell me that they can pay for it. I don't believe in it, though. Who don't? I don't believe in a motherfucker
Starting point is 00:49:18 getting lobs. It was stubborn. It was stubborn and stubborn. Even when you came out of games and they had iPads, what are you asking the people to do? I'm like, yo, how when you came out of games and they had iPads, what are you asking the people to do? I'm like, yo, how are they guarding me on pick and roll?
Starting point is 00:49:28 All right, I'm gonna switch it this way. Are they dropping shit? Like, I see it now. Now I'm switching it up the next time I get right back in the game. There's no way you can't, you can't do the same thing. Sacre bleu. Yeah, once he had over eight points, it was like, eh. This is too many easy points for him.
Starting point is 00:49:42 How much he been averaging though? Five! Boom! Yeah, he... Barely getting... No, listen, he went crazy on the league. That has been, like, that's about two or five years. He went crazy on the league.
Starting point is 00:49:52 I think the most he got was eight. I think the most he got was eight. That's why I was like, why are you trying to pull him out the game? Like, keep that motherfucker. They're playing four or five. Most he got was six, Gil. First four games combined,
Starting point is 00:50:02 he had 14 points. Yeah, damn. In the first four games, I was at 20, 25. That's what I'm saying. Once he scores six, I'm like, hold on four games combined, he had 14 points. In the first four games of the 2025... That's what I'm saying. Once he scores six, I'm like, hold on. Come on. That's all right. Let's change this shit up. It's not like they're going to give it to him on the block. It's like when you... He had 24 and he can't shoot
Starting point is 00:50:15 and he make his first two threes. You still don't believe. You still let him shoot after that. That's too close to the basket. But it's not like they drop to the mump and he's scoring in the post. It's just that they come and you help. They throw it up. He can do that. That's too close to the basket. But it's, yeah, it's not like they're dropping him up and he's scoring in the post. It's just that they come in, you help,
Starting point is 00:50:27 they throw it up. He can do that. Oh, it was all done? Yes. I kept sneaking in. I wasn't, I was scared
Starting point is 00:50:34 to watch the whole game. You were scared to watch? I was right there with you. I start watching me go down by six or something, I just leave.
Starting point is 00:50:41 I like to torment myself, so I watch the game twice on Spectrum Sports National just to make sure my high work is giving me the first time. It was you, motherfucker. It was your ass. Gobert did that. He wanted you to be at the game.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Remember, he was boxing. Y'all should have known. I know him because I ain't doing no playback on the lake. It's you, your energy. You was so scary. You was a scary ass nigga? Man. I'm a Luka fan. No, look at you.
Starting point is 00:51:09 You even jumped off the thing. I didn't jump off nothing. I jumped on. I mean, we ain't dead. Yeah, buddy. Shit. Yeah, the Slovenian boy. I got a house in Slovenia right now, as you see.
Starting point is 00:51:21 By the close in the week. Nah. No. No, you didn't buy property in Slovenia. You jumped on him? It's not lying. He didn't jump on him. He's telling the truth. He's not lying. I was offended with Rashad. I let him live. He was on looking at I was offended when Rashad had the jersey on. Woo. I let him live.
Starting point is 00:51:49 I let him live. Rashad cannot be with us today. He didn't get it from Luka, but I let him live. Let's talk Lakers a little bit.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Lakers went to the small ball lineup in game five. Obviously, Gobert made them pay for it, but that was a theme for this team
Starting point is 00:52:01 after they rescinded the trade to get Mark Williams for the Hornets in a deal for Dawg to connect. Mark Williams was watching the game, simply reacted with this tweet after the Lakers lost. Knock me, Negro.
Starting point is 00:52:16 That was for us. That was to let us all know. He posted the biggest Hander funeral meme as well on IG after. Have to respect the pettiness there from Williams. Also have to wonder why the Lakers didn't grade his physical on a curve because D's getting degrees. You did not need to fail him. He could have sat on the bench just like Dalton.
Starting point is 00:52:33 Wait, hold on. He's smiling? And he's not even healthy? No, he was healthy. He was out of the playoffs. Like, he was out of the playoffs. What you smiling for? He wanted to come to the Lakers. He was very excited about it.
Starting point is 00:52:46 I know he did. They failed his physical. I know they did. Because they gave him a D. And now we going to question after. We was questioning after he went back. We made jokes when we weren't happy about it. He started seeing his old ass back there and then he started looking at it like, all right, double, double. 14-11. He dunking shit? 16 and12. Who the fuck this black nigga is over here, man? Who the...
Starting point is 00:53:07 What? Hey, bring this nigga back, man. What you talking about? Connect just sitting there like this. Connect, come on. I don't even know why I'm here. Bring the other one back. Could have sat on the bench just like Dalton Connect.
Starting point is 00:53:20 They could have even gotten the game. You should have played Dalton Connect. Perhaps. Yeah, we should have played Dalton Connect. You got to play Dalton Connect. You brought him back. You got to play him Dawson. Perhaps. Yeah, we should have played. Got to play. Protect the ribbon. Got to play. Got to play Dawson. Brought him back. Got to play him.
Starting point is 00:53:27 When they brought him back, it was like, yeah. And then when you're watching games over and over, it's like, where the fuck is he going to play? Like, what I'm saying is, where is he going to play on our lineup? We needed the big dude. That's what we actually needed at this point. He played during the season though. Not when he came back.
Starting point is 00:53:49 He was playing before y'all traded him. Before we traded him. Then y'all brought him back and y'all stopped playing. He was with the Brownie crew. He was hooping before y'all traded him. Y'all traded him and y'all brought him back. He came back in his field a little bit young.
Starting point is 00:54:04 I think he was off it to be honest. That's what I'm saying. Y'all traded him. Then y'all break it back. He came back in his field a little bit young. I think he was off it, to be honest. Yeah, I think. That's what I'm saying. Because we got Luka. So we got Luka, AR, LeBron. The one, two, three. What do you do with that? Who comes?
Starting point is 00:54:15 Where does that come from? Trace Lakers. Then we go small. Then we got Rui small. Then we got Black and Mouth small. If I'm going small. And I'm trying to get Gobert out of there. I'm going five small, connect in there.
Starting point is 00:54:27 He got to come out and guard the man. At least. Or we're getting wide open threes. He got 30. He's not going to be able to sit in the game like that. Because we needed to hide at the point. But what I'm saying. Trusting in Vincent.
Starting point is 00:54:36 They ain't even practicing. No, no. They didn't play. They didn't play. Vincent did play. He shot the last shot. Oh, duh. We need a three.
Starting point is 00:54:43 So you throw it to him. Yeah. Anyway. We're not going to get in the game. Like, when you came in the game, we need a three. So you throw it to him. Yeah. Anyway. Like when you came in the game, we need a three. Hey, Nick, get on in. No, he was playing already. Man, Vincent played down there 40 points.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Shemar Moore. Who? Vincent. Man, Vincent played like 10 minutes, 15 minutes. But Lakers big man issues were a problem after the deadline. Obviously, they tried to rectify that by trading for Williams. We sent in that trade. But after the game, LeBron was asked about the Lakers playing a lot of
Starting point is 00:55:09 centerless basketball in the second half of the season. Here was his response. No comment. I'll never say that because my guy, AD, said what he needed, and then he was gone the following week. So I got no comment. Brian had no comment. So Brian made a joke of the situation.
Starting point is 00:55:32 Serious problem for the Lakers. That weirdest ugly head in game five. So Rui Hachimura even plainly said after the game, we needed somebody to get rebounds. Rui, you have two heads and two legs. You don't say no shit like that. Should getting another big man be the Lakers' top priority this summer? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:49 Yeah. Lakers need a big, yes. If they want to compete in the playoffs and offseason, yes. They need a big. Don't mess around. Y'all could even sign JaVale McGee or somebody towards the end. Yeah, they could sign somebody. They could sign.
Starting point is 00:56:00 There's bigs of them. Y'all could sign somebody. JaVale's still dunked. Yeah, JaVale. And Dwight. He could still run up and down or Dwight You could assign somebody anybody was being stuff. They was on some years on some and that is a Like I don't know they really thought they can win this year
Starting point is 00:56:14 And I think they just trying to load up for next year like it That's what I said If you were trying to win this year and you knowing that this is gonna be a small ball team you would have kept You to kept mark is it free agent issue? Mark Williams? Let me try for you this year and you knowing that this is going to be a small ball team, you would have kept Mark. Is he a free agent this year? Mark Williams, let me get that for you. I do not think so. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Do not think so. We're going to have a big next year. Yeah, yeah, we're going to have a big. I don't think y'all got one for that cheap, though. Connect also. No, no, we got a lot of land out here. Nobody thought Minnesota was going to fall. Yeah, Mark Williams got another year left
Starting point is 00:56:45 on his rookie deal and then a qualifying offer from them. Nobody thought Minnesota was going to fall to the Lakers. Everybody thought the Warriors
Starting point is 00:56:53 and fucking the Grizzlies. That's all we were seeing. That shit shocked us right there. It did. Everybody was a little,
Starting point is 00:57:03 I was nervous. That's why I said seven. So JJ's read a credit before the series. He pointed out top ten team, offense, defense, said he was concerned. We weren't trying to hear that shit, JJ. I mean, it just. We heard it.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Because I was scared of Randall. Randall, Randall. Randall Cook. It was all. Randall Cook. It was all. It was all so young and athletic. That was really the problem
Starting point is 00:57:26 So all this Every through every position they were just more athletic besides now Randall hurt Talking crazy Young like you they're moving young and have beef with the Lakers McDaniels drafted by the Lakers Obviously Julius Randall traded by the Lakers. And then you got Ed, man. He owned one. He owned one from losing.
Starting point is 00:57:48 So you got the biggest demon. Y'all think it's one of the biggest demons. The one position that hurt us, and I don't want to point him out, but I'm going to have to. And he was wide open so much as a layup, but because he's little, he missed a lot of shots and fucked up a lot of points, was Vando. Vando in the dunker spot. Vando?
Starting point is 00:58:14 Yeah. Yeah, he scared the shit out of you. No, just in the dunker spot, they're dipping it off to him, and it's not like he got a 40-inch vertical where he's power dunking. As soon as he gets the ball and he goes up, it's like he's going to get blocked or he's going to miss the layup. Because he has to jump over people. If you look at it, there's a lot of key moments where they're coming in,
Starting point is 00:58:34 they dump it off to him, but he probably got a 36-inch vertical, if that. If that. He's 6'7 with like a 7-inch wingspan. If he's 6'7, then he probably got a fucking 32 inch vertical. He can get to the rim or at least a foul. I was looking on little bet websites and it said over under two and a half points. I was like, oh hell no. Two and a half?
Starting point is 00:58:56 And he's playing like 30 minutes a game, 20, 25. That's wild bro. I was like put Rue in a dunking spot but then you need Rue. Played 19 minutes. Yesterday was two and a half. in a dunking spot, but then you need Rue. Played 19 minutes. Yesterday was two and a half. Two and a half. He finished the game with two points, so they knew what they were doing. I took that shit and lost last night.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I was like, yo, not two and a half. He can walk into two and a half. But the problem is, how many, what was, he won one for what? One for. You know what we need. 0 for 1. We get one field goal attempt in the game. Made two free throws.
Starting point is 00:59:25 I'll play right here. It's like it's these little dump off he gets and he just, I'm like, ah. We need somebody bigger there. You need to go train up at the Laker facility. Go train Lucas. He don't need no training. He fine. He do.
Starting point is 00:59:38 He just lose about 15, 20 pounds. He good. So speaking of Luca, he was asked about signing an extension with the Lakers this offseason, which he said he didn't have the chance to think about yet. He then reflected on his first season in Los Angeles. Yeah, I mean, it's been great, honestly. You know, the way the fans accept me, you know, it's been amazing. The way the community accept me, it's been amazing.
Starting point is 01:00:02 So I'm really glad that I'm here. I had a great couple months, you know, trying to learn about everything, about the city, about the team. So just trying to process everything. So Luka signed through next season, has a player option in 2026. Also in other news, there was a Kobe mural that was defaced recently. Luka put up the bread to get it fixed, I think to further endear himself to the Los Angeles community.
Starting point is 01:00:28 But do you expect Luka to remain with the Lakers long term? You just seen what he did. You didn't just see what he just did? I did watch, yeah. He spent money to fix a Kobe. He is here. He's here. Yeah, he is God right now.
Starting point is 01:00:42 He ain't going nowhere. Nope. He ain't going nowhere. No. He ain't going nowhere. No, he's not going nowhere. What does the Lakers future? I wish we had somebody like him. Yeah, I mean, what's the future for the Lakers, though? What type of pieces can you get?
Starting point is 01:01:00 I mean, you're going to need pieces. You're not going to get it done with just Lucas. We're going to get whatever the fuck we need it's the Lakers you know how we had Kareem who was the GOAT and then somehow we got number one pick got Magic and then we won a championship and then after that we got the number one pick
Starting point is 01:01:18 got James Worthy we got some shit around here number one pick I mean the Chicago D-Rose LeB Cleveland, they're not doing that no more. I don't think. No, no, no. They're not guiding picks the way they used to. Lakers, they need the bread back there.
Starting point is 01:01:33 They need to get a good pick. I mean, I hope it get better for the Lakers, but I feel like the Lakers might be stuck. Kobe, right? You get Shaq, you pull Shaq. Kobe came out of nowhere. You pull LeBron James. You pull Anthony Davis. David hey come on we pull Luka are we pretending
Starting point is 01:01:49 that the Lakers just don't pull greats out of their ass y'all gonna have to pull one oh we pulling one oh yeah we got one so the Lakers basically you're about to be a Laker fan soon no so the Lakers they gotta no so the Lakers they gotta so they gotta get people like yeah fan soon. No, so the Lakers, they got to get people.
Starting point is 01:02:08 Yeah, we're going to get somebody. Oh, we got somebody. So would you say as a Laker organization, they don't develop players? Fuck no. Sorry, motherfuckers. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. We like the old Yankees. We like the Dodgers now.
Starting point is 01:02:25 You prove your shit over there. You better come ready. Lakers is like Oak Hill. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no. You better come ready. Lakers is like Oak Hill. We're going to grab him, grab him.
Starting point is 01:02:33 All right, we're going to make our team. That's what y'all doing. I think the best Laker draft pick since Magic Johnson is Kobe. Kobe? No. Kobe was not drafted by the Lakers. Shut up. Is D'Angelo Russell? Kobe was drafted by the Lakers. Shut up. It's D'Angelo Russell.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Kobe was not drafted by the Lakers. No, he was drafted by Charlotte. Charlotte. And traded. Yeah. So that's still development. D'Angelo Russell. It was D'Angelo Russell.
Starting point is 01:02:55 That's still development. That's still development. That's still development. Because they just trade him out. That's still development. I'm selling. The last draft pick the Lakers ever got was Kobe Bryant and they developed Kobe. That was the last draft pick.
Starting point is 01:03:08 We're talking about draft pick. I know. They didn't draft, but he got traded. He drafted him for me. When Kobe left out of that arena, he had on a Laker hat. He drafted him for me. The Lakers' future, I think, is going to be kind of wild because your best player, they're going to treat like
Starting point is 01:03:24 Isaiah Thomas. Remember Isaiah Thomas in Boston? All they did was like, yo, it's going to be kind of wild because your best player, they're going to treat like Isaiah Thomas. Remember Isaiah Thomas in Boston? All they did was like, yo, we're going to bring his – he's getting 30, but we're going to bring his little ass to pick and roll, and he's going to have to figure it out. We're going to get a good shot every time. With Luka, I don't see him getting better foot speed. I don't see him getting better on defense. They're going to treat him like that, just like that.
Starting point is 01:03:43 Yeah, we're not worried about that. You're not worried about that I'm worried about how you not worried about that How you not Every time everyone yeah, that's what they do. We don't get who you can get Giannis Yeah, it's not covering up for that though. Huh? He not covering up for that every time they go Don't care about y'all. We're going straight at that man. Woo!
Starting point is 01:04:05 We got Yon's back. Trust me. I can tell you this right now. The team we have right now, the reason we lost is because it was LeBron's team. Luka's team is coming next. That's unnecessary. Huh? You remember them big motherfuckers jumping, what's his name?
Starting point is 01:04:19 Gafford? Gafford and that light skinned lion leading the ball. I guarantee you that being in the Lakers soon. You going to get somebody like them or you going to get them? We going to get them. We getting them. Lucas came to meet Ant-Man last night. We getting them.
Starting point is 01:04:31 We are getting them. How you going to get them when they in Dallas? Imagine Ant-Man in a Laker uniform. Oh, doing the shit he just did. Oh my god. We ain't sturdy, cool. A great audition. We going to go get the five-year, six-year-old.
Starting point is 01:04:43 He's so young. We can get him too. Yeah, y'all going to get them eventually. We can get him too We can get him too We can go get Shea back We are the Lakers Everybody want a Laker uniform I don't think they want to play with Luka though Think about it
Starting point is 01:04:57 Laker jerseys 1 and 3 I would get Luka out of here I would I would I would I'm listening for of here. I'm being honest. I would. I'm listening for Ant-Man, Shay. Luke, yo, he can slide. Oh, man. He can slide, but your shooting guard can't slide or your three-man can't.
Starting point is 01:05:16 Somebody on that motherfucker can't slide. So how do you explain that? Somebody can't slide. Curry can slide. Curry can slide. No, he couldn't slide. He picked it up. He was able to get better and slide.
Starting point is 01:05:26 We don't know. We just said this shit. Nick was on the team. We just said he got better, just like all the white people said Luka was great on defense last year in the Clipper game. The same people talking shit right now about Luka defense was praising him last year. Oh, look how great Luka looks. That motherfucker just like this. Yeah, because they wasn't going at that man like that.
Starting point is 01:05:45 He was just doing this. He was looking at it just like this. Straight knee. No. Kawhi, look at that. Kawhi Leonard is fixing 25. When he got to that Boston series, that's when I stopped. Yeah, we picking that man up 94 feet.
Starting point is 01:06:01 He didn't even want to dribble the ball up the court at some point. He threw it like, yo. Think about the narrative last year, though, during the playoffs Clipper game. He didn't look like he played no defense, but they had a wall behind him. It was them. Remember we pointed it out. Like, damn, look. So Kawhi's sitting there like this.
Starting point is 01:06:19 You know the happiest man alive right now. Nico. Nico. Oh, yeah, Nico Hyatt. Nico. He don't play. Coach, y'all motherfuckers didn't play no defense. Now y'all seeatt. Nico. He throw a party. Told y'all motherfuckers you didn't play no defense. Now y'all see it.
Starting point is 01:06:27 What show they didn't play no defense? They scored 103 points. Man, Jalen Daniels had a career high. Come on, man. Let's stop, man. He was playing one-on-one against Luka? Basically. Listen, I'm not gonna front.
Starting point is 01:06:39 Yo, there was some clips of Luka down the stretch where Zach Randall went right at him. Zach Randall, okay. You mean the All-Star W-W guy? Ant-Man went right at him. Zach Randall, OK. You mean the All-Star Dota guy? Ant-Man went right at him. All NBA, OK. But they did that. But this is down the stretch. This is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:06:52 Down the stretch, we just going to pick on you. And what did he do? He picked on who? Them. No. So we're trying to figure out like, wait, wait. No, he didn't pick on them. He lost.
Starting point is 01:07:02 They getting to the rim now. They getting to the rim, or they getting that wide open three. Look at back there, that bad back side defense, terrible, man. Okay, but how's he getting in the lane in the first place? Who? Why do you need the back side? How Luka got in there? Why you need back side defense?
Starting point is 01:07:19 What were you saying? What's up? He's on his tippy toes. He's like this. He's hopping his shit. Like, what the fuck is this? They got to get paid to do your job. Let me do my job.
Starting point is 01:07:28 But I can't do my job if they just go right by me. We're going to find somebody else to do it. So if nobody there to protect the goddamn basket, then goddamn it, we're going to find somebody. All right. So let's shift over. Let's shift over to over to Laker. Jameon Daniels, 27.
Starting point is 01:07:43 That killed us, bro. Who? Jameon Daniels. He averaged 20-something this year. over Lakers. Jalen Daniels, 27. That killed us, bro. Who? Jalen Daniels. He averaged 20-something this year. Former Laker. Who'd he kill this last night? Who'd he kill this last night? Drafted by the Lakers. Who man was that?
Starting point is 01:07:53 Nobody cares. So let's talk a little bit about J.J. Redick. He reflected on his first season in his post-game press conference. You know, I'll use my own thoughts to evaluate myself and I'll use what my players say and what my coaching staff says to evaluate but you know I I know I can be better and I know I will get better I don't necessarily take any satisfaction from how the year went. That's not to say I'm not proud of what the group was able to do and how we were able to figure things out on the fly and put ourselves in a position to have home court in the first round.
Starting point is 01:08:37 But there's always ways to get better, and I can get a lot better. Okay, JJ. How did you grade JJ Redick in his first season as Lakers head coach? What did I give him his first year? Did I give him A? I don't remember, Joe. Me neither. I know they was killing him.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Not the first year. Yeah, they were. They was talking was killing him. Not the first year. Yeah, they were. They was talking about fire him. This is LA. It's what we do. No, no. They went to the Western Conference Finals this year. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:09:13 I got to figure out what did I give them. Because I give JJ right under that. Okay. Somewhere in B, B plus. Yeah, because he did go to the Western Conference Finals. Yeah, because he went to the Western Conference Finals. Yeah. So whatever Ham did
Starting point is 01:09:26 the first year overall, for the whole overall, overall, I mean, shit, it was a play-in team, went to the Conference Finals. It was a three-seed, got bounced. You got to give credit for Ham.
Starting point is 01:09:41 I mean, you know, both coaches at the time had to deal with more pressure than any other coach. With the media, with LeBron being there and the expectations that just the world puts on him and the coaching staff. You know, if I gave him an A, then I'll give JJ an A-. If I gave Ham a B+, I'm going to give JJ a B. So just one underneath? Yeah. Hot Pockets, Darvin, Ham?
Starting point is 01:10:16 For that first year. For the first season? Yeah. Obviously, the Lakers fans are not particularly happy with these last couple games, some of the decisions that were made. I'll give them a B-. In this gentleman's sweep at the hands of the- I looked at that second game.
Starting point is 01:10:30 I looked at the game where he played all 24, everybody in the second half the whole time. I don't, I mean, once we went up 10, maybe I'll sub out. Yeah. LeBron and Luka for a spell. You know, maybe a two-minute, one-minute, whatever. You need to. But for the most part, I don't have room to be fucking around.
Starting point is 01:10:55 I need this win. And, I mean, let's just be honest. There's a couple things that kind of cost the game besides them just playing. Like, you can use the 24 minutes, but if the Daniels trip, that's a foul. Lucas shoots two free throws, we're up one. The game changes right there. LeBron's foul, foul. You wouldn't even be in that position if we're up one.
Starting point is 01:11:14 So it changes. Lucas smoked a layup. LeBron smoked a layup. LeBron shot a tech into the third quarter with Austin Reeves on the court, missed a tech. There's things. There was points that were lost. Playing 24 minutes. Playing 24 minutes straight, you get tired.
Starting point is 01:11:29 You start getting easy blow-bys. You can play 48 minutes straight. You take 55 minutes. 53 minutes. You can't do it at 40. 53. Who can play 53 minutes straight? I mean, there's 20 then.
Starting point is 01:11:40 I mean, at 40, I mean, I get that. 40, man, you got the fat. Look at the fat. He better play defense now, I get that stuff. 40, man, you got a fat Luka. But even with Luka, he better play defense now. I hate when people, why only people use fat to talk shit even though they're- I'm not calling, he good, bro. How much did he average? He didn't play 24 minutes.
Starting point is 01:11:55 How much did he average? He's not in shape. I'm good for you right now. Straight. I just keep the same energy. So this out of shape fat man averaged what? 37 and 6. 30 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 games.
Starting point is 01:12:09 So what does that say about this? That game, Jalen Gale's had 30 this year. What does that say about Jalen's in shape, right? He had 30. He averaged well. The nigga averaged 30. So you're telling me, you want to tell the world that this is an out-of-shape fat man and the defensive guy that's guarding him got put 30 on him?
Starting point is 01:12:27 Like, how bad would you feel if somebody's sitting here making fun of, like, oh, he's fat, he's out of shape, but he just dropped 37 and 6 on you? For an average. But he gets the ball every time, doesn't he? For an average, though. Like, if the nigga averaged 12 or 15 and you held him, but you're a defensive specialist and this fat man averaged 37 and 6. That kind of doesn't make me feel good
Starting point is 01:12:48 as an athlete. Ant-Man had 43. Did they sweep you up? Ant-Man had 43 and Daniels had 30. What did y'all talk about? Average versus how much did Ant-Man average? How much did Ant-Man average? He sat down.
Starting point is 01:13:03 How much did Daniels average? We're talking about average, not one special game. We're average. Oh, he had 25. Do you know what average? He had 25 the first game. Do you know what average? 17.6.
Starting point is 01:13:14 So he averaged 17. Luka's not a defensive player. He averaged 17. This is a defensive player, and the out-of-shape guy averaged 30. Amen. A defensive player averages 17. That's a lot. And average 27. He's picking a full averaged 17. That's a lot. And averaged 27.
Starting point is 01:13:25 He's picking a full court too. That's like averaging 40. If you're a defensive player and your specialty is defense and I'm out of shape, how do I score 30? That's 40. He dunking it. We're picking up right there. He's averaging 30.
Starting point is 01:13:39 You think what I'm saying? You are known in the NBA as a defensive player and I averaged 30 and I'm out of shape. That says a lot about you, though. But Luka been the same weight, everything, since day one. Stop using it. Since day one. He came in the league out of shape.
Starting point is 01:13:53 That's why I said you got to stop using it then, because it makes the other person look bad. Luka, 45% from the field, 35% from the field. I mean, so that. You're saying this out of shape fat man who who don't like you need to get in shape. But he averaged 30. Who's saying that? You just said it. That's the that's that's what I said. Stop using certain narratives because it makes them look good. The whole narrative. Goddamn. He's a fat motherfucker.
Starting point is 01:14:19 I got his ass bust. It's OK. He can get bucky. There's a lot of fat people that get bucky. It's OK to be fat. fat. If you really get skinny, that's been cool. We'll see him. But don't get mad because the narrative is fat. That's what the people say. He's a fat motherfucker that can score. Don't be a fat motherfucker that can
Starting point is 01:14:37 score. It happens. It's okay. He's fat. You don't have to defend that. When you see his fat ass run up and down the court, he's fat, right? Is he skinny? Think about what you're saying fat ass run up down court. He's fat, right? You're calling a MVP fat and why how is that a knock against him if you just want to What are you saying? Okay. It's okay to be fat.
Starting point is 01:15:08 Think about what I'm saying. Think about the logic of it. You're a fat motherfucker and you're averaging 30. What does that say about the people that's guarding you? Take some shit. Take some shit.
Starting point is 01:15:17 I'm a fat ass fucker who's the end of the league. That says a lot about the end of the league. People are really just saying that they want him to lose weight and be a better version. That's what they're trying to say.
Starting point is 01:15:27 When people are on your logic, that's what I'm saying. Word it correctly because if you're telling me that I'm a fat motherfucker and I'm the MVP of the league, that means the other 499 y'all are some fucking trash. You are some
Starting point is 01:15:43 trash ass motherfuckers. Y'all are in shape, but you can't stop me? Y'all are some fucking trash. You are some trash-ass motherfuckers. Y'all are in shape, but you can't stop me? Y'all are trash. Get the fuck out of here. Why y'all getting paid? It's hard to stop a fat motherfucker. Y'all, why are y'all getting paid? Why are you in the NBA?
Starting point is 01:15:58 Why are you in the NBA if I'm out of shape, fat than a motherfucker? I can't even walk up and down the goddamn steps, and I'm the MVP of the league for the last three out of four years. Oh, y'all don't even need no checks. Yeah. What if he said that? What if he?
Starting point is 01:16:12 What if? I'm standing here putting that fat one out last year. I'm standing here putting this fat one out this year. I'm putting him on ad level. I'm putting him on ad level. If I'm a fat motherfucker, I'm busting all y'all asses. Yeah. You see what I'm talking about?
Starting point is 01:16:28 But that fat nigga lost to that skinny nigga last year, and this fat nigga lost to this skinny nigga. Think about what I'm saying. People just want him to lose weight. That's what your eyes say. Just say lose weight and be better. Boom, boom, boom. Be better. He could be better.
Starting point is 01:16:36 Yeah. Just lose a couple pounds. Just lose 15, 20 pounds. Very, very clear to come. I mean, listen. You call somebody fat. This is different motivation. They playing mental. And he come back, he going to be averaging 35. Yeah. Very clear to come. When you call somebody fat, there's different motivations.
Starting point is 01:16:45 They playing mental. When he comes back, he's going to be averaging 35. They try to play mental games. Oh, call him a fat motherfucker or he's going to get in the gym. Why don't y'all just say, nigga, get in the gym. It will be better.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Do some more weights. Come on. We don't say we go straight to it. We got one more thing we got to talk about in regards to these Lakers. So something always comes up at the end of the season is LeBron's future.
Starting point is 01:17:06 How much longer will he play? Here was his answer. I don't know. I don't have an answer to that. Something I sit down with my family, my wife, and my support group and kind of just talk through it and see what happens. And then just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play I don't know the answer to that right now to be honest so
Starting point is 01:17:36 we see so LeBron just wrapped up his 22nd season if he returns next season it was set the record for most seasons played with 23. He'll be 41 years old in December. How much longer do you think LeBron will play? Fucked up, man. Sad to see, man. He's done said this. How many years straight? A long time, girl. At some point in the last like season, you know, I got to talk to my family about this, man. Oh, he's going to be in the gym in about six hours if my calculation is right.
Starting point is 01:18:04 I mean, you got to talk to my wife. If my calculations are right, there should be a video of him in the gym in about six hours if my calculation is right. If my calculation is right, there should be a video of him in the gym soon. Ball head. Ball head. Shake weight. A little deadass. Nah. This year he dealt with a lot though. He dealt with a lot. People messing
Starting point is 01:18:19 with him and shit. The most criticism he had was this year. And it's only going to get worse. I think it's because of Bronny, though. He's going to at least get the 23. He's playing next year for sure.
Starting point is 01:18:35 For sure. After that, we'll see. Bron has a player option. Obviously, no trade clause. After next year? Or this year? Player option this summer. You know what I don't want him to do? I don't want him to just not show up.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Oh, he's going to have a farewell tour. Like, I would hope for the fan base that he has a farewell tour. Oh, he sure does. Like, I don't want that, like, he's done, and then they ask him this question, and then he decides at the beginning of the season, yeah, I don't want to play. No, no, no. I hope that don't happen that like he's done and then they ask him this question and then he decides at the beginning of the season, yeah, I don't want to play. I hope that don't happen. But he's tired. He could do that because
Starting point is 01:19:14 y'all don't deserve my last year. Y'all don't deserve my last year. Y'all don't need my views. That could happen. That could happen though., but then they're going to have something to say about that. That could happen, though. He look tired. Then they're going to be mad about that.
Starting point is 01:19:27 He will fuck up ratings. He might. That would be crazy. This is a true statement. I see him coming back All-Star weekend. No, this is a true statement. Right now, today, when the season starts, if LeBron doesn't play, media will be fucked because they haven't picked a bad guy to replace him yet.
Starting point is 01:19:54 They don't know who to hate. Remember, when you're in this sport, you need a bad guy, good guy type of player. Somebody that you love and you kind of hate. They don't have him yet. They haven't really, of course, it's supposed to be him. But they haven't identified him yet. Because now all of a sudden, if LeBron don't play, they will have to go out of their way to just bash somebody.
Starting point is 01:20:17 They're not bashing right now. That's a fact. That's going to be the problem. Like, they're just going to randomly overnight just say, uh, Jason Taylor sucks. You to randomly overnight just say, uh, Jason Tatum sucks. You'll be like, wait, whoa, that came out of left field. How do you hate on Tatum, though?
Starting point is 01:20:34 I'm just saying, you can create this narrative about LeBron and he left Cleveland to go to Miami. But that's what I'm saying. That's why I said overnight because it hasn't been, no one has created hate for anybody yet. So it's going to be something that you just wake up to. It can't jump to Luka. Maybe J up to. It can't jump to Luca. Maybe Jalen Brown. It can't jump to Luca.
Starting point is 01:20:48 It can't jump to Luca. Right now, it's kind of like Ja. It could be Ja. It could be Ja, Ant-Man, but I think it's going to be that boy right there. But they loving Ant-Man right now. You just can't next year just, I hate Ant-Man. Well, it can't be Luka if he can't.
Starting point is 01:21:06 I mean, they don't hate Luka. That's Luka. They've been talking about him lately just because they're out of shape. I'm not out of shape. But I'm saying that they don't hate him. It's not a, like, you just have to wait. There's your pathetic towards Luka, though, because he didn't have to be traded. But it's only him if they lose this year.
Starting point is 01:21:24 No. Yeah, it's there. They still can't do it. If he wins, it's hard to hate him if he wins. But if they lose this year. No. Yeah, he's there. They still can't. If he wins, it's hard to hate him if he wins. Even if they win. But even if they win, they're going to hate him because he's just an easy target. And he don't get in no trouble. But you've got to start now.
Starting point is 01:21:36 See, right now. He's too quiet, though. Right now. But think about everybody who hates LeBron. They only hate LeBron. They don't hate anybody else. So when you're talking about the elite... They're lazy haters.
Starting point is 01:21:49 When you're talking about the main guys who be pushing out narratives, it's only hate LeBron. They don't have another person. I've been paying attention. Man, when he retires, if he retires overnight, who are y'all just going to pick out of thin air to just hate?
Starting point is 01:22:05 You're not going to hate Wimby. You can't hate Shay. You don't hate Jokic right now. Who do you just pick? You have to pick a superstar. Ant-Man is a hero right now. Indeed, his career is damn near done. You don't hate Giannis.
Starting point is 01:22:20 Right. Can't hate Giannis, nah. So there's no one. So the only person is Tatum. Yeah. Can't be honest, nah. So there's no one, so the only person is Tatum. Yeah. Can't hate him though. You can try to narrow this, but he don't fight back. That's why I said it's going to be a weird time because all of a sudden, everybody has
Starting point is 01:22:38 to be suited on hating the same person. Nah, he'll fight back. He'll fight back. Shit, let him get this ring this year. You got to start fighting back. You got to start fighting back. You know what I'm saying? The ones that hit the little edges, you got to let them back in the league, man, so you know what I'm saying the ones the little edgy you gotta let them back in the league man
Starting point is 01:22:46 so you can have somebody to hate organically you can't hate these people now that's what I said it's too hard because you
Starting point is 01:22:54 nobody has been preparing to hate another person to get the views up but also I mean also they they're not I mean
Starting point is 01:23:02 they're not LeBron James but they're not LeBron like LeBron James is a rare is a rare case Kobe it was Kobe LeBron James. But they're not LeBron James. LeBron James is a rare case. Kobe, LeBron, it was Ant-Man. I mean, it was A.I. I think they're going to go back to hitting teams. You need to edge you guys back in there.
Starting point is 01:23:17 How do you hate Ant-Man to like him? How do you like him now? He's all trash. Yeah, he's all trash. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he didn't do nothing different. But it feels like they're trying to do that with Jada. They're trying to make J him. Yeah. All of a sudden. You got to. Yeah. You got to. And he didn't do nothing different. But it feels like they're trying to do that with Ja. They're trying to make Ja that person.
Starting point is 01:23:31 But even Ja, the kids love him. Yeah. It's the same thing they did to Bron. They love Bron in Cleveland. Then they hated him when he made the move to go to Miami. Then they just hate him. Then everybody just hates him. But that's what it says. So it has to be.
Starting point is 01:23:38 Somebody got to make a move. Somebody has to make a move. They're staying home. Nobody's doing nothing. We will see. It's going to be. Somebody has to make a move. For people to be make? They're staying home. Nobody's doing nothing. We will see. It's going to be a big challenge. That's what I'm saying. Somebody has to make a move for people to be like, all right, yeah, we hate him now. You can't do Giannis.
Starting point is 01:23:50 Giannis is already a champion. Can't do Jokic. Jokic is already a champion. And you've been begging for them. They need to do something different. So if they leave, they haven't prepared for it. LeBron level was just... It's got to be somebody new.
Starting point is 01:24:08 It's got to be somebody that be put on LeBron level already, though. There's nobody on LeBron level, though. LeBron carried him for 22 years. Yeah, who's on his level? Who are they going to compare to Jordan for the Jordan fans to be like, fuck him? That's how it has to work. And then once he gets put on the Jordan level, then the in the Jordan fans gonna be like who the hell is this? And then all the Kobe fans like wait a minute. Well, it might just jump us
Starting point is 01:24:36 You only two people right now, that's you can't do it overnight. So we asked the chat how much longer will LeBron James play a 46 percent said one year. 44% said two years. 7% said three to five years. And 3% said five plus years. You're both cracking up. After 45. Question, how petty do you think LeBron is?
Starting point is 01:24:56 Petty. He real petty? Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, because you know they're building a league in Dubai and all that. Yeah, and there has been. How petty do you think he'll be? He'll play next year. He got to play next year.
Starting point is 01:25:05 But then, like you said, he might do the, all right, I'm gone, and go to another league like that. Because he's trying to own one of those things, right? That would be wild. He's trying to own it. He's trying to own a team. I don't know if they're really trying to let him own right out. But what if he goes to do something like that, that Ferro Tour becomes a tour in another
Starting point is 01:25:21 league with the Saudis? He's paying like 50. We've talked about this before. What that number would have to be, and it'd have to be an older player at LeBron's level because the young guy probably not going to sacrifice his legacy even for 150, 200 mil for it. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:25:35 Jordan did it. So we can't say what a motherfucker would do to own a team. Jordan played overseas? No, no, no, no. He sacrificed his legacy to play for the Wizards. Yeah. So he can get ownership. But we're talking about the league only.
Starting point is 01:25:48 He's making a million though. He already got a B in the back. I don't think LeBron does. Can the Lakers give him some ownership? I mean, the Lakers don't have, I mean, once he's, the Lakers ain't got really... They can, but I don't know. Put it like this, when is that Vegas season supposed to be done? Next couple years, allegedly, with the expansion. Now they got the TV deal.
Starting point is 01:26:11 He's going to be the owner of the Vegas. I can see it. And then he plays that one year there to get the fan support, maybe. Come out of retirement. Come out of retirement. Maybe. Well, obviously, this has been a question mark at the end of every single season,
Starting point is 01:26:23 so we'll see what happens with LeBron. Hopefully, LeBron is enough to motivate him to keep going. I mean, from his numbers-wise, he can play, what, six more years? Yeah. He should be allowed to go down to 3-2-1 like everybody else. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. We got some other basketball to talk about. And on that note, Gil's leaving the family.
Starting point is 01:26:54 Come on, man. You know what we needed to do. That's right. You know what we needed to do. Shout out to Gil for returning to the arena. Shout out to Gil for dressing up like a clown to honor his bet. Man, they about to play one-on-one. Right now? Right now? No, no,

We're going to go on fire. Yo, I'm finesse now. I shoot. I'm a shooter. I'm a shooter now. We're going to go on fire. Yo, I'm finesse now. I shoot. I'm a shooter.
Starting point is 01:27:26 I'm a shooter now. Back then, I couldn't shoot. Now, I'm finesse. I can do it both. I got $100,000 on me. Making his return to the arena. Dressed as a clown. $200,000 on him.
Starting point is 01:27:35 I add one to it. Make it three. I add $1 to it. Yeah. $200,000 to one. What are we playing? What are we playing? When you take off that.
Starting point is 01:27:46 Set it up, man. Y'all let me know. Set it up. You can't be out here. He in shape right now. Oh, yeah, I'm all the way in shape. You still got to get in shape. I mean, we got to do it.
Starting point is 01:27:54 No, take your time. We're going to get in shape. I told him to be good. Whenever you ready, let me know. When you supposed to go overseas? When? Yeah. Who's going overseas?
Starting point is 01:28:02 Oh. I ain't going nowhere. Damn. I'm locked in. Right? Shout out to Gary. I When? Yeah. Who's going overseas? Oh, I ain't going nowhere. I'm locked in. Shout out to Gil. I'm locked in. Coming back to the arena. First appearance back in the arena. In the clown suit. Honoring his bet.
Starting point is 01:28:16 Oh, yeah? Swaggy, you want to come back and take Gil's spot? We'll talk. While you come back, take Gil's spot. Our imitating life. GM Swaggy. GM Swaggy. We'll talk. Starting point is 01:29:31 Your face and your balls will thank you. Let's move on to the other playoff series involving a California team. So Warriors went into Houston hoping to close out the Rockets in five games. But with their season on the line, the Rockets did what a team is supposed to do in that situation in front of their home fans, not allow a fucking Frenchman to cook them and leave croissant crumbs all over their couch. Let's take a look at the highlights from the Rockets-Warriors game, if we don't mind. So Rockets played like a team desperate to stave off elimination. This one got out of hand early as Houston led by as many as 30 points in the second quarter.
Starting point is 01:30:02 By halftime, the score was 76-49 Rockets. Rockets shot 69% from the field and 60% from three in the first half. The Rockets starters got busy in this game. Alper and Shangoon almost had a triple-double, 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Fred VanVleet continued his hot shooting from the previous game, dropping 26 points on 8-for-13 shooting. Amin Thompson had 25 points on 8-for-12 shooting, stuffed the stat sheet with 6 rebounds,
Starting point is 01:30:26 5 steals, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Dylan Brooks dropped 24 points on 7 for 13 shooting in 29 minutes. Strange game for the Warriors. They fell behind early. Didn't get any scoring out of Steph Curry or Jimmy Butler in the first quarter. Curry ended up with 13 points
Starting point is 01:30:42 on 4 for 12 shooting in 23 minutes. No other Warriors starter could score in double figures. Because the game was so far out of hand, and with Game 6 looming in 48 hours, Why is he doing that? Cookies. Because the game was so far out of hand in Game 6 looming in 48 hours, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr elected to sub out his starters with a little under six minutes left in the third quarter
Starting point is 01:31:09 Warriors bench was effective Cutting the lead from 30 all the way down to 13 points About five minutes left in the fourth. Let's take a look Some of these highlights look at this team getting it done on their home floor, respecting their fans, respecting their organization. But did get testy. A scuffle ensued between the teams after a hard foul on Dylan Brooks. Pat Spenter got in. Shang-Goon's face appeared to headbutt him.
Starting point is 01:31:37 Then Trace Jackson-Davis shoved Shang-Goon as Draymond watched from the bench like a proud father. Spencer was ejected. Shang-Goon and Jackson- Jackson Davis were issued double decks. After the free throws that followed, the Warriors' momentum was lost, and the game was officially over. The series heads back to the Bay for game six on Friday. He's 40.
Starting point is 01:31:56 Hello. He's 55. Who's Spencer? He's got a beard. Head button. So what was the key to the Rockets extending the series? They just came. They just went back home and took care of business. I mean, they was making shots. They was hot early.
Starting point is 01:32:12 And the Warriors didn't really look like they wanted to be there. But I still got the Warriors, you know, winning in six back at home. But yeah, but no, I mean, for a team like that, that, that lost with the Warriors that came shooting 60 some percent from the field. I mean, you know, once you start making shots like that and, but no, I mean for a team like that that that lost with the words that came they've shooting 60 some percent from the field. I mean, you know, once you start making shots like that and you know, you're without Steph and Jimmy making shots. I mean, it's going to be hard.
Starting point is 01:32:34 So send a message early. Yeah, the Warriors know we're nowhere on our home floor. This is the playoffs. We're going to give our fans something to be happy about. Yeah, at least if this is the final game. I mean, that was probably the final game for them. So they went out
Starting point is 01:32:46 like they were supposed to go out. Now let Steph and Jimmy Butler roll the streets afterwards. Clowning. Dancing. Homeboy in a full red suit. Not getting pressed
Starting point is 01:32:55 by anybody in LA. Man. Just walking freely. Looked like sugar. Remember sugar at that all? Great sugar. The all red. Come to Defra.
Starting point is 01:33:02 All red, man. Yeah, I think the Warriors, they already knew what time it was. They come down to Houston. Y'all can have this one. We'll get you back in the Bay. Sometimes you got games like that in the series where they come out hot the first 10 minutes. It's a wrap. It's like, all right, cool.
Starting point is 01:33:17 We hollered at y'all. Steph, hand messed up. Let's go ahead and get him on the bench. He pulled him out, what, five minutes earlier? Yeah, six minutes ago in the third quarter. See, y'all already knew it. They had that talk of halftime. earlier? Yeah, six minutes ago in the third quarter. See, you already knew it. They had that talk at halftime. Yo, listen, just go out there, show a little face,
Starting point is 01:33:28 and we can get you a batter. But, nah, once they start coming back, I didn't like how Steve Kerr was about to put Steph and them back in. He wasn't. They said he was, but he was taking off his ankle brace. And he put it back on. Yeah. It probably got to, what, seven?
Starting point is 01:33:43 It probably got to about, no, nine, I think. Ten. He didn't want to roll his ankle on the way back to the locker room. That's why he put it back on. He's going to be pandemonium on the court. He's like, all right, let me go ahead and type this up real quick. He wasn't going back. Can the Warriors get some comfort in that, though, in knowing that their bench can still
Starting point is 01:33:59 play at a high level? I'm just saying, if they look ahead to the future series in this postseason, just saying, hey, we can put these guys in there, and they're going to fight. They're going to keep playing that way. They're going to take advantage of this opportunity to try and seize this moment that they're getting on the court. Pat Spencer out there, headbutt Shane Goon. Looked like they were trying to bait Shane Goon into some situation, obviously,
Starting point is 01:34:17 that would impact the Rockets for the future of this series. But, Todd, like you're saying, these games happen in the playoffs. Rockets now, or Warriors now, get to go back home to the bag. Yeah. Yeah, it does. I wouldn't put that into the bench players because if Steve Kerr is not going to play Jason Tatum in the USA Olympics, he's not taking the little points he was doing at the end of the last game.
Starting point is 01:34:35 He's not going to play him deeper into the playoffs. Did they even play Jonathan Kamiga? That's what I'm saying. Or is he buried at the bench? I don't think so. I don't know what Steve Kerr got against him. Kamiga was not available last night.
Starting point is 01:34:51 Did not play with the illness. Think he was sick of Steve Kerr's bullshit. That's 100%. He's just off it. I'm sick. Fuck it. But let's go back to that scuffle in the fourth quarter. We got a little video.
Starting point is 01:35:06 So Warriors within 13 points at this point in the game. Did he snap by himself? Pat Spencer, real one, lacrosse legend. Yeah. He played lacrosse? He played lacrosse, so he's used to physicality. It all makes sense now. Shout out to the one here, lacrosse.
Starting point is 01:35:19 The mustache, the push of Dylan Brooks. Game of the headbutt. The headbutt, all that. Yeah, I think him and his brother. Yeah, Pat and Pat Spencer came with LaCrosse. LaCrosse players, yeah. But did he push Brooks? Legends in two games like Pee Wee Kirkland.
Starting point is 01:35:30 Look how he walking off. Did he push? Yeah, you're like, watch out. I'm talking about Brooks flew out of bounds. Nobody pushed him. He pushed him. Yeah. So, but once the bench got into it, Shane Goon game effectively over.
Starting point is 01:35:43 Yeah. So, you guys are okay with Kirk deciding not to put his starters back in the fourth quarter when the lead was cut to 13? Yeah. I wouldn't. Just wave the white flag. We can go back. We got to win one of these next two games.
Starting point is 01:35:52 That's it. We got one at home. It's going to be tough for them to win. You know it's going to be loud in there. I mean, you played that. I mean, you know. It's hard. Yeah, it happened.
Starting point is 01:36:00 Yes. For sure. We lost like that against the Rockets. Lost by like, I think, 20, 30. But it got bad. It got ugly fast. It came back home and took care of business for sure. Yeah, what is it, Oracle, was it now?
Starting point is 01:36:20 Yeah. I ain't making it. I played in that joint. This is different, you know what I mean? The chase is different? Yo, they get popping in there. One three goes in, the whole place is going crazy. Dudes on the sidelines going wild.
Starting point is 01:36:31 Don't let Steph start hitting the shimmy on you. They used to get nasty in there. So that's a tough place to play. It gets really loud, to be honest. Yeah. A lot of tech, bros. Yeah, I still got Warriors in six. Still Warriors in six.
Starting point is 01:36:44 So smart for the Warriors bench to try to bait Shang-Goon into some fisticuffs. Yeah. I mean, the whole series has been physical. Yeah, these dudes don't like each other. Last fight up with the Warriors at their house. You know, it's been a real physical series. I mean, but that's the only way I feel like the Houston's been able to stay into the series. By playing physical, you know, Warriors are way more experienced, so they don't have to do all that.
Starting point is 01:37:07 But, you know, with a young team, first time in the playoffs, you know, first thing you want to do is play physical, fight a little bit and try to get them off there. And I feel like the words they do. I mean, the Rockets have been doing this, you know, one game. Jay didn't have a good game. Then the next game, Jay went and disappeared. So this was a good game. What's going to happen? Get a good game. What's going to, Jalen disappeared. So this was his good game. What's going to happen?
Starting point is 01:37:27 He had a good game last game. What's going to happen in game six? He's going to disappear. He had a good game. He started off cooking, though, in the beginning. Yeah, one game, one for 10, maybe two. And time. Jalen Green, three for eight in the game, two for four from three.
Starting point is 01:37:39 Only had 11 points. Only played 28 minutes, though. Obviously, he jumped out to that lead. The rest of them. Yeah, he's been fun. He had that 38-point game, which is playoff career high. What buddy he'll do yesterday nothing. Yeah, like yeah It's time. I do four-point Thomas Thompson. We're late 18 minute a man Thompson. Yeah, depends on him 25 those are key factor to man. He get that shit going He can bite through anything
Starting point is 01:38:05 with that mouth. Buddy Hill versus 100 Apple. He can bite anything. He just put it right here and bite it. Open this can. Open this beer. Let's talk stuff.
Starting point is 01:38:24 Steph Curry been dealing with a right thumb injury. It's all good. This is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Woo Woo. Steph Curry been dealing with a right thumb injury. Been rapping it during games and icing it after. Come on. It does look like lipstick. I thought a girl was here.
Starting point is 01:38:39 There was some lipstick on the cup. I think it was Gil's makeup. Gil's clown makeup. Gil trying to get us caught up here in the arena. Who lipstick is that? Steph currently been dealing with a right thumb injury. So Warriors World on Twitter zoomed in on this picture of Steph boarding the Warriors team playing to show how swollen that thumb is.
Starting point is 01:38:58 Let's take a look. Damn. That looks nasty. Oof. That's hands looking. Yeah, that's wild. That looks insane, man. It's like E.T. On God, right. Yeah, that's wild. That looks insane, man. It's like E.T.
Starting point is 01:39:10 Like when E.T. did his finger? Yeah, that's like E.T. So Steph has been playing through this thumb injury since January. I said that it doesn't impact how he plays. After the game, Steph was asked about the state of his ice-wrapped thumb, and he answered it with some humor. State of your thumb right now?
Starting point is 01:39:29 Cold. There was a picture, I don't know if you've seen it online, where it looks pretty swollen. I think it was with you walking in the plane. You got the feds on me? What are you talking about? No, the internet is the feds at this point. Yeah, it is. I love this league so much.
Starting point is 01:39:48 I love it so much. How is your thought? Besides cold because you're icing it. I don't even know how to answer it. It's just something you're dealing with and you keep it moving. As long as I can play. You got to rap for a reason, but that's it. Steph loves this league. I love the
Starting point is 01:40:06 Major League Baseball and these Dodgers. But as you can see, Curry doesn't want to talk about the thumb issue very much. Won't give him much attention. Well, it appears that thumb was a target for the Rockets, specifically Dylan Brooks. So, here's a play from the first quarter where Brooks
Starting point is 01:40:21 appears to swipe at Curry's hand as he released a three. This is not the only instance of this in the series, but was a focal point of the broadcast last night as they noticed it happening in real time. You see Dylan Brooks. Dylan's funny, man. Worried broadcast not feeling it. Steve Kerr complained about it at length after the game.
Starting point is 01:40:48 Steph simply said, if it's a foul, they should call it. Brooks was asked about the broadcast, mentioning that he might be targeting Curry Stone. No, I've been playing the game. Shoot. What's that going to do? If you're going to come play the game injured, or whenever you guys are all about the game, you know, if I had an injured ankle,
Starting point is 01:41:05 I would attack that ankle every single time. So, whatever they're saying in the broadcast, they can keep saying it. They look like a jazz group. They fly up there. So, Brooks openly admits to targeting Steph. So, we'll talk about their fashion choices in just a moment. But you see Dylan Brooks going after Steph's injured thumb.
Starting point is 01:41:25 Obviously Steph has it wrapped during games. Is Brooks swiping at Steph's injured thumb dirty or just playoff basketball? Just playoff basketball. I'm gonna say playoff basketball. He want everything to win. Playoff basketball, man. That's why Steph, I don't think, try to address it.
Starting point is 01:41:40 Cause they know people will go at it. So I mean, it's playoff basketball. You see the wrap all on his thumb and one would assume, dang, people will go at it. So, I mean, it's playoff basketball. You see the rap all on his thumb, and one would assume, damn, if I slap at it, I'm aggravated. I mean, just like you said, if somebody got a bad ankle, you're going to go at that ankle. If somebody got a bad knee, you're going to go at that knee. So, you're going to try to do anything in the playoffs
Starting point is 01:41:56 to get more advantage. So, if you're coming down, Steph coming down, he's just chilling, and y'all swipe at his leg, hey, man, like it's who? Yeah, and even running running just without the ball. Same thing they do on pick and rolls when they switching. They grabbing him, bumping him. They doing the same thing.
Starting point is 01:42:13 So, it's like. Steph said it don't bother him. We saw that photo, though. We saw what that thumb looks like. I mean, he's going to say that it's not bothering him. But for you guys as Hoopers that have played at a high level, played in the playoffs, how impressive is it to see Steph out there still performing at the level he's performing at with an injured thumb and a shooting hand?
Starting point is 01:42:31 I mean, it's impressive. I mean, we've seen it before, though. Kobe. Remember when Kobe had that broken finger and he had to change his whole shooting and went out there and won a championship. So, I mean, you know, this ain't, you know, say nothing new that we've seen. But of course, with Curry, you know, trying to win a championship, trying to put the team on his back. I mean, you know, without without Curry out there, I mean, they have no chance.
Starting point is 01:42:52 So fans and the you know, it's impressive because they won a game without Jimmy too. And you got a messed up hand and you playing against a bunch of defenders. So to tell you the truth. Somebody like Thompson that picks up full court. I was shocked to see him get cookied, what, two times? It's the thumb. The thumb was hurting properly.
Starting point is 01:43:14 Probably the thumb. But the greats do it. They don't complain. You know what I'm saying? They just fight through it. That's why I think that, you know, that's very impressive. That's a big knot, bro. That's a shooting hand.
Starting point is 01:43:24 You know what I mean? He's doing everything with that hand. You can see if it's the offhand, but, yeah, so I think's very impressive. That's a big knot, bro. That's a shooting hand. You know what I mean? He's doing everything with that hand. You can see if it's the offhand, but yeah, so I think it's impressive. He's doing everything with that hand. Wait, is it his offhand or his shooting? No. It's his shooting hand.
Starting point is 01:43:33 Yeah, it's his shooting hand. And knowing people like the offhand that they're cool with. Oh, right, right, right. But him, it's his shooting hand. And he's smacking that joint. He's still getting buckets, getting to it. It's pretty impressive.
Starting point is 01:43:45 So you guys, if we can just grab the clip. We don't need to play the audio or the sound, but just the clip we just showed of Shang-Goon Dylan Brooks after the game. Look at him. The look though of Shang-Goon. Yeah. Oh my god.
Starting point is 01:44:02 Shang-Goon definitely was a singer in the 70s or something. For sure. He was in Sinners, man. He was in Sinners. But that's definitely for the gram. He was like, yeah, go ahead and take these. He definitely was in Miami Vice. He's looking at us. Yeah, he's in Miami Vice.
Starting point is 01:44:14 He's looking at us now. Why are they both wearing beige? They had to pick that up. They got the best white outfit. That's a team unity. No, I'm just kidding. It has to be something. Two people ain't wearing beige like that, you feel me feel me at the game two people are not wearing beige outfits. No with the glasses and so, you know, yeah, yeah
Starting point is 01:44:32 Y'all rolling with glass in the post game press conference They just got one off They sell a dope. Little Quartel. Yep. And they get it. They got the best, too. Little Pablo. They just got one off, huh? Woo, woo. Shift back to the series. Game six at the Chase Center Thursday. Warriors looking to close it out at home.
Starting point is 01:44:58 After what you saw in game five, are you confident the Rockets can force a game seven? I'm going to let this man say that one. That game is actually tomorrow, excuse me, Friday. I think the Warriors are going to pull it out. For some reason, it's just hard to beat Steph in that arena.
Starting point is 01:45:19 And all it takes is one shot for Steph to get going. And it could happen at any time on the floor. I feel like Houston, they don't trust Green. Like I keep saying, he's one of your main scorers on your team and you don't trust him. Your coach don't trust him.
Starting point is 01:45:42 It's hard to win. We talked about this kind of issue with the Rockets not having a go-to guy per se. Fred VanVleet has kind of embraced that role. Jalen Green had that 38-point game, but since then, I think he's gotten over a lot of points in the game. Yeah, that's a lot of pressure too for him. You got to make every shot or you coming out. Yeah, I think experience wins this one for the Warriors.
Starting point is 01:46:06 Just their experience. They've been here many a times, and they definitely don't want this to slip. So if you have a chance to close them out at home in game six, I mean, you know, this is the time to do it right now because you know you got them young boys up in Minnesota that's waiting. So you don't want to keep them waiting. Read Jalen Green's point totals for each game of the series. So game one, he has seven points.
Starting point is 01:46:26 Game two, he had that playoff career high, 38 points. Game three, nine points. Game four, eight points. Game five, 11 points. So he's already dropped a 38 piece in this series, Todd. Do you think he has it due for another big game? Absolutely not. He's got hot.
Starting point is 01:46:41 How much did they win by that game he had 38? So that game he had 38. Won by 15. Yeah, it wasn't even a close game for real, so he was feeling it. He started, though.
Starting point is 01:46:52 A little frontward. Huh? He started, though. I don't care, man. You get that, you keep it rolling. I seen the highlights of that. I ain't watch it,
Starting point is 01:46:59 but I seen the highlights. He got it rolling. They was up. Front runner type stuff. You feel me? So, listen. Let me have 38 now. How about that? He had 38.
Starting point is 01:47:07 Then I'd be like, alright, cool. I like his game, though. He's young. Go have over 20. How many shots is he shooting? How many shots is he averaging? Is he at least trying to put it up? He gets taken out, though. 13 shots per game. 39% from the field, 33% from three
Starting point is 01:47:24 in the series. The coach don't play him in the fourth quarter. It's cool enough. He's shooting 39% from the field, 33% from three in the series. If the coach don't play him in the fourth quarter, that's the biggest. It's cool. They're having at least two, you know what I'm saying? Which I,
Starting point is 01:47:30 I mean, for a young player, that's got to be tough to deal with, knowing that if I'm not balling right now. But they let Thompson come in here
Starting point is 01:47:36 and play in the fourth. Well, I mean, he definitely. I've been playing defense and all that. Yeah. Nah, he need to have
Starting point is 01:47:41 another 30 ball for me. He's going to have to have at least like 15. But you think he's capable of doing that or you have limited faith in his ability to be able to execute that? This year, absolutely not. Not going to a Warriors, the game's in, it's got one game to do it. The Warriors picked this team, they wanted to play them.
Starting point is 01:47:56 They did back the Lakers. Very wise decision. Sure, so they already knew the game plan coming in. They was ready for them. They set people out for certain games just to be in this spot to play against the Rockets. You know, you got to do that sometime in the playoffs, you know, unless you run into the Wolves. Yeah. Even as a three seed.
Starting point is 01:48:26 You just want to win games trying to be the three seed to prove some shit. Played the matchup. Played the matchup game. That's one thing about Kerr. He knows shit. He knew it, yeah. He going to play them games.
Starting point is 01:48:40 He going to play them games. They out that six seed. We're going to go the playing route. We'd rather get these Rockets. Start throwing people in the starting lineup for no reason. Yo. You started. I'm all for it.
Starting point is 01:48:50 Yo, Kurt. Kurt's seasoned, though. He's seasoned. He knew what he was doing. JJ, he was trying to get the accolade. He could have done Phil Jackson, though. Yeah. He set up.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Perfect, man. JJ, he trying to get the three seed. Oh, yeah. Three seed off flexion. So we the third seed. No, I get it. not get it. I get it Let's learn Man now he talking
Starting point is 01:49:12 Downtown that's how me in the full rest. I still can't get over that for red. I'm gonna Go I think I've seen a Kobe statue in the back Why he was talking shit right in front of that joint because you gotta because you got to walk through it. You got to walk by. I think that's why he took the video. Oh, it's just calculated, man. Man. You got some new Ant-1s coming out, too. Adidas.
Starting point is 01:49:34 Shout out to the crew at Adidas. The Kingslayer graphic on the Instagram. Yeah, there's Kobe. They wildin'. LeBron just drop some all cuz you With Dion and everything Look, I dropped some collab shoes with Dina with the on second. Oh, yeah, and they both got fucked Unfortunately for both LeBron Take them shits back now Rest of the family. That's fucked up.
Starting point is 01:50:07 Take them shits back, man. You got to drop them in the summer now. No. What? They came on Friday. I still got 14 days to take them back. You still got 14 days. Turn the shoes on. Well, we will see what happens.
Starting point is 01:50:25 Warriors Rockets game six this Friday. It'll be a topic point in the arena next week. And all the other teams that are still in the playoffs, which will be discussed moving forward on the show. Teams that are not in the playoffs will probably not be included in those discussions. With me as topic guy, he's topic. But let's talk a little bit about the league as a whole. So Commissioner Adam Silver was a guest on the Numbers on the Board podcast
Starting point is 01:50:50 and was asked if there was anything he would change about NBA coverage. Here's what he said. I respect the job the media does, and it's not a suggestion that people shouldn't ask tough questions or be critical or talk about things they don't like about the game. I think they don't spend enough time talking about why people love this game. And, you know, recently I was at a meeting with Mike Krzyzewski, former coach at Duke, and he condensed it with this headline. He said, we should educate people about the game and celebrate
Starting point is 01:51:25 the game. Educate and celebrate. And I feel, I wish there was more of that. Some teams make it really difficult, Adam, to do that. You agree with Adam Silver saying NBA coverage doesn't do enough to educate and celebrate the league.
Starting point is 01:51:44 Yeah. Yeah. When he says educate, what does he mean? coverage doesn't do enough to educate and celebrate the league. Yeah, something, yeah. When he says educate, what does he mean? Like, do we know what that means? He's spoken before about this, but breaking down the game, really helping the casual fan learn kind of some of the nuance. Oh, yeah. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:51:59 Strategies on the offensive and defensive side. I mean, I think we do that here. Yeah. I think we do that here with Ken and Gil and Todd and Nick and everybody. I think I think we do that from experience from what we've seen in the league. So I think very educational. It's hard for them. I get it. People that didn't play to try to break down the games and plays and why this player did this. And I think even people casual could probably understand. There's a seven-foot Frenchman who keeps getting dunks
Starting point is 01:52:29 that he doesn't normally do. And break down wide. He's scoring at a level he doesn't normally score, rebounding at a level that isn't normal. So perhaps maybe get out that zone. For sure. Things like that, educational from that. Instead of, they got killed by Rudy Gobert.
Starting point is 01:52:43 Yeah. And celebrate the game when there's time and things to celebrate. I think you definitely do that. And I think the media there, everybody's trying to have that headline. Yeah. Like instead of like, you know, educating, like, you know, we could sit up here, we could talk about the game, you know, from Monday to Thursday. And, you know, we're not trying to always just have the biggest headline or always trying to get into it with people. It's just more like from our experiences from basketball. So I think a lot of the other media who doesn't play, they're trying to find that headline to be like, man, this is my time. This is my opportunity to get in. This is my opportunity to get him off his
Starting point is 01:53:16 thing that he's doing. So I just think it's just different. Everybody's education don't get views, to be honest's just different. Education don't get views, to be honest. Education don't get views. Do you see Stephen A breaking down nothing? I don't know if he can break down something. Windhorse? I don't know if he's been on the
Starting point is 01:53:37 court before. Can he break something down? No. That doesn't bring views. They wouldn't be getting paid on ESPN if they was breaking down every single player. This is why the Frenchman is getting dunks. Why this person is getting buckets. They just want to say, oh, yeah, that man had 38 and three crazy dunks, and he talking crazy.
Starting point is 01:53:55 That's going to bring – I'm going to click that. I'm not going to click, oh, yeah, Frenchman dunks 27 points, and this is how he did it. Yeah, he stayed right here in the dunker, and as he comes, he throws the lob. That's boring. I don't want to hear that. That's boring. I think there's a market for it, but by and large, And this is how he did it. Yeah, he stayed right here in the dunking and as he comes he throws the lobsters That's boring. That's boring. I think there's a market for it. But by and large, yeah, we just want to Walking back to the hotel talking this shit. We want to be the market for that five times It was a quality video
Starting point is 01:54:18 Great. I know the hotdog vendors right over there too. And they got the fake jerseys right on the other side They cool. They cool people. They real chill. The fake Lucas? Yeah, the fake Lucas. The further you walk away from the arena, the chipper's what that stuff get? And them hot dogs, they be fire, though. Nah, nah.
Starting point is 01:54:34 That street meat? Nah. Lucy dog. Cat dog? It depends what state you in, all right? Cat dog. Cat dog. They fire.
Starting point is 01:54:42 I mean, they trash. If you sober, they trash. You little tipsy, you come out of there, they be fired. Put the onions in. That dog. Yo, when I first got to L.A., that's where I was going, after the club. It was fire, right? So you was outside the supper club getting the hot dogs.
Starting point is 01:54:58 Real quick. Keeping them in business. You wouldn't see me doing it, but, you know. Back in those days. Bring that to the car, bro. Back in those days, $5 hot dog combo. You get the hot dog chips and a beverage, $5. They have since
Starting point is 01:55:09 marked up the prices. With the onions and all that, they throw the onions on the joint. Y'all didn't eat 7-Eleven hot dogs? No, I just go to the Dodger game. The Dodger dog. Dodger dog, very delicious. That's the biggest. That's the best dog. LA's favorite team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Starting point is 01:55:24 You couldn't afford it like that. You know, we wasn't overseas. I'm just saying, the Dodger game. You went to S. They didn't invite you to a Dodger game? You ain't throw out the first pitch at a Dodger game? I was a Laker, that happened. Okay.
Starting point is 01:55:37 They got $7 tickets on SeatGeek, StepHub. I wasn't even thinking about the Dodgers. Midday joint. You wasn't even in high school. Just going to Dodger games. No, I didn't go to Dodger games until I made it to the... Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I wasn't thinking about the Dodger games.
Starting point is 01:55:50 Well, now you're thinking about them. The best team in LA. Number one in the NL West right now. Defeating their World Series title. They are. Pitching a little bit of an issue right now. We got some guys injured, but we are bouncing back. We do have Shohei Ohtani.
Starting point is 01:56:03 Man, Dodgers play ball. 200 games. Man, I don't watch baseball whenured list, but we do have show hey Oscar Hernandez Freddy Freeman Max months You should be uplifting the game a little bit I talk about like The emotions the game give us. I know a lot of people was down at the Lakers loss. Still down. The excitement that comes with just cheering for your home team
Starting point is 01:56:31 or the team you love and the feeling you get from it. I think that's a... And I think people just talk with emotions. Like, you mad because we lost, so I'm going to say some mad shit. Parleys, too. Parleys. Some parleys. That parley don't hit.
Starting point is 01:56:45 Your bass don't hit. You're like, man, fuck that weak ass. When the $100 pick-ems are not pick-em-ing. So a lot of things you shouldn't take as personal because you can't. You can't, yeah. It's emotion. The fans? Or just people?
Starting point is 01:56:58 Just people in general. When you're talking sports, man. Man, listen. When that parlay don't hit. That's what I'm saying. And you need that money on the first. Thank you. You off him.
Starting point is 01:57:07 What's today? The first. You see? That's what I'm talking about. Everybody who last night lost, they was mad as hell. They tight. Oh, man. That whatever.5 didn't hit, dog.
Starting point is 01:57:19 I'm telling you, Vanderbilt, that 2.5, I'm like, yo, he has to hit it. It's a do or die game. You5, I'm like, yo, this has to, he has to hit it. It's a do or die game. You know what I'm saying? I'm going for that dunk at the dunker. You tell me you're not 2.5? You'd be passing that. I'm not going home like that. But you got to really look at it because
Starting point is 01:57:37 they know something we don't. 2.5, dog, and you're playing 30-something minutes and you don't get that hat. Nah. 2.5, you know what I'm saying? I put some slight shit on there because it was like, you know. I put like maybe, what, $5 because it's a new app. You know, it's out. But at the same time, I'm still like, yo, two and a half?
Starting point is 01:57:53 You can't hit that, bro? So imagine somebody putting $500 on there. You don't look at the rim, though. Still, he can fall in at two and a half. Look at the fast break layup. So we got some news that just came down from Shams Charani about 15 minutes ago. So we talked about the situation with Giannis Halliburton's dad after the Pacers eliminated the Bucs out of the postseason.
Starting point is 01:58:19 So according to Shams, after a conversation with Tyrese Halliburton's father, John Halliburton, in the Interpatriates front office, John Halliburton will not attend the team's home and road games for the foreseeable future, a Pacers spokesperson told ESPN. Are y'all rolling with that? I don't like that. That's weak as fuck. Yeah, I don't like that. That's weak. See, that's why we got to talk shit.
Starting point is 01:58:41 That's weak, bro. You can't say that Adam Silver didn't do this shit. That's weak. I don't like that at all. I wasn't for what he did. He was celebrating the game. Educating Giannis. I don't like what he did as far as Giannis,
Starting point is 01:58:54 but I don't think as his father, he can't come to the games. I'm not rolling with that. I would feel some type of way from Tyrese. Yeah Oh, that's not and it's like leave you don't want of course I whatever you can go sit and go sit in the box He does he's going to the box. See they have to say that and not put him of course Uh, you think he's not allowed at the game period they said he was that's a discordant shops from the spokesman said
Starting point is 01:59:19 He will not attend home. I mean because listen, even if he even if he do attend the game The camera is gonna be on him. He's going to be up there like. He's going to be so mad. But still, I don't think he should be like not be able to come to the game. Still my son. Like, all right, yeah, it was an incident. Me and Giannis, we talked about it.
Starting point is 01:59:37 Boom, he said what he said. He said he loved me. Like, all right, like we. All right. I think he just don't want the precedent to be set. You know, fans come out there talking wild. That's kind of, that was really what he was. He was on the court side, walked out onto the court, had a jersey up.
Starting point is 01:59:51 You know what I'm saying? Dad, though. I get it. You don't let other fans walk on the court like that. He's just saying, I don't know. Maybe there's some people who's out on the court side. That's the franchise guys of this fucking team, dog. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 02:00:02 My dad can't come up in here, man. I'm the franchise player of this team. I'm not playing, bro. about? My dad can't come up in here, man. I'm the franchise player of this team. I'm not playing, bro. And my dad can't come on the game. That's some real light-skinned shit. I'm not agreeing with it, but I'm just saying this is what he's trying to set a precedent for. So Giannis addressed it. Tyrese Halliburton addressed it.
Starting point is 02:00:15 Halliburton's father, John, addressed it with a tweet. Also said he wasn't looking at Giannis. He was looking through Giannis. And the angle didn't have it right. I don't know if I believe that. Holding the Hallie towel up. How you gonna look through him, man? Did you see the clip? He walked out to the court and he was holding that joint,
Starting point is 02:00:31 looking at Giannis like, yo, when you gonna look at this joint? Then when he seen it, that's when he walked straight to the man. Yeah. It wasn't no, yeah, that was holding it straight up. He knew exactly what he was doing. Yeah. He should've just owned up to it, been like, yeah, man. I mean, he did apologize for it. Being by yeah, man He did apologize for being banned being banned home and like like like this is the most crucial time Yeah, that's my best time to be at the game
Starting point is 02:00:51 That's one of the biggest story that might actually encourage people to watch the Pacers Yeah, just to be honest just to see what his pops gonna do I would I would lean into it give his pops a can everybody sitting course. I said just go crazy That's we try stop Everybody need a Hallie town now. Yeah, everybody everybody said course. should just go crazy that's what you try to stop everybody need a holly towel now yeah everybody everybody sit
Starting point is 02:01:08 courtside just have a holly towel oh there's definitely going to be a holly towel right there just like when Jaws dad was over there wilding
Starting point is 02:01:13 courtside I just paid attention to see Jaws dad Jaws dad funny dapping up other dads you know that's fire we like to see
Starting point is 02:01:22 black fathers get represented you know what's wrong other dads just mad because they can't do that. Other dads hate it? I think other dads, other parents, that kids don't let them sit courtside. They got to sit ten rows up.
Starting point is 02:01:33 But still, you got to fight. That's true. You know, they got to yell from right there. It's like, man, ain't nobody listening to you. Shut up. That's what y'all just say. Tyree's got to fight for it. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:01:44 Yeah. That's my daddy. I'm sorry, man Tyree's got to fight for it. I don't know. Yeah. That's my daddy. I'm sorry, man. He's got to be at the game. Something. It doesn't feel like it's coming down from the league, per se, but I'm sure the league applied a little bit of pressure, said y'all need to do something to address this.
Starting point is 02:01:55 A lot of people in the media said he should be banned. I forgot all about it, to tell you the truth. Yeah, we had moved on. Yeah, I think a lot of Lakers laws. I don't think he should be banned. I thought they would give him a couple games, you know,
Starting point is 02:02:06 give him like a suspension, a couple, two or three games. somebody else arena too though. Home and away. He can't even go, I can't even go to the road game. Can't go to that.
Starting point is 02:02:16 I can't even go to the road, like I can't even sit in the stands in the road game, like, I'm that, I'm that, I'm that dangerous? Like,
Starting point is 02:02:25 just, come on. No, I don't like that. What is old ass going to do? It feels like the league applied pressure, but there was a conversation between him and the Pacers. And if you're Tyrese Halliburton in this situation, like, look, I just got you out to the second round.
Starting point is 02:02:40 Just sent Giannis home for the second straight season. We'll move him to a sweep, but he's coming to the game. Yeah, that's my dad I got the towel especially for that next series against Cleveland. They definitely gonna need his dance Man, does Cleveland ain't playing a couple games. That's it ain't gonna do they ain't going crazy like that What this band will be like two or three games. So when do that season start? Could they both available to play huh? The foreseeable future could could just be up to game five because we don't know. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:03:08 He was banned for two years. He said foreseeable future. That's the word he used. So it might be two years. No, I'm talking about when do the second round start? Do it start this weekend? Sunday. Yeah, the coming day.
Starting point is 02:03:18 And he will not be there. Not be in Cleveland? That's fucked up. He don't want to go to Cleveland. But nobody wants to go to Cleveland anyway. Well, he do because it ain't nothing for him. I'm staying out there. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 02:03:27 Indiana ain't nothing for him. He was walking out there like this. He was like, hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey.
Starting point is 02:03:35 Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey.
Starting point is 02:03:43 Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Let it leave. I don't come support his son y'all tripping league He was merely just educating and celebrating just like Adam Silver asked for he did ask for Maybe one more education to celebration lady honest. No, how he's not the most overrated player in the league, sir Yeah, okay. I'll even hit the game winner, right? Yeah, I've been dumb hype to you. Yeah His house and all I'm saying his son hit the game winner. So I get it like I get it Yes, the honest thing I wouldn't I don't agree with, but I'm not. Man, you can come back, man. I probably wouldn't have gotten his face, but I probably told him on the way,
Starting point is 02:04:13 get the fuck up out of here. You know what I'm saying? That type of shit. Yeah, I'll give him some of this. Get the fuck up out of here. Yeah, go back home. And that's it. But, yeah.
Starting point is 02:04:21 And then I'm going to go to my son. Yeah. Get with my son. Oh, yeah, for sure. But the funny part is, Hall they didn't see any of this He said he found out once he got back he saw the videos But meanwhile him and Yana's have multiple interactions you to say something who to the youngest Oh, yeah, come on. Get the fuck up out of here. Take that. I definitely said my dad right there. I gotta say something
Starting point is 02:04:43 There's no way they face face to face like this. My son just hit the game winner on you. What are you talking about? That's in the series, too. My swag going to be on a milli. So 63% of the chat thinks banning Hallie's dad is the wrong decision. We appreciate you, Chad, because I think we agree here on this couch. Got to get out your feelings.
Starting point is 02:05:01 Look, your team loses. As we're learning, you take the L. Whatever slander comes with that, that's a part of the game. You live to fight another day, hopefully. Hopefully you get a rim protector in the offseason to help with that. But let's shift it over, talk a little bit about the Spurs. So Spurs guard Stephon Castle received the Rookie of the Year award yesterday, and there was a cool moment when the previous winners of the award in franchise history presented him with the trophy.
Starting point is 02:05:27 The Rookie of the Year, Stephon Castle. Hey, Timmy. That's not Timmy. Shout out. Who is that? Is that Timmy? Yeah, that's Timmy. Look how Wimby has all these dudes looking like little boys. Oh, my.
Starting point is 02:05:57 They're so wild. And look at their fits. Timmy look like Noah from that. Yo, listen, where Timmy been at? Tim Duncan is a legend, man. Where Timmy been at, man? He been off the grid and we're swimming in that pool How they get him back over there Now you get your ass right here
Starting point is 02:06:23 You don't hire anything you don't know the hierarchy. Better than you, dog. You know the hierarchy, David. I got to follow him on Instagram. So David Robinson, Tim Duncan, last year's winner, Victor Wimbeyama, all pulled up to celebrate Castle's accomplishment. Castle averaged 15 points, four assists, four rebounds in 81 games this season, started 47 of those games, led all rookies in total points, made field goals, made free throws and steals. So Castle Wimbey, first teammates to win consecutive Rookie of the Year awards
Starting point is 02:06:44 since Andrew Wiggins and Carl Anthony Towns did it for the Timberwolves in 2015 and steals. So Castle and Wimby, first teammates to win consecutive Rookie of the Year awards since Andrew Wiggins and Carl Anthony Towns did it for the Timberwolves in 2015 and 2016. Do you think Castle is a good fit alongside Wimby in San Antonio? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he's a good solid. Castle's tough. For sure.
Starting point is 02:06:59 For sure. I'm surprised they got to keep him with the Sacramento trade. There's no way I'm letting Castle stay there if I'm trading De'Aaron Fox there. There's no way. That was crazy how they put that on. You like their future? Who? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:13 San Antonio? Yeah. De'Aaron Fox and Castle. They're going to be tough. Yeah. Super tough. Do you think next year, playoffs for sure? Next year, playoffs for sure.
Starting point is 02:07:23 The year after, they might be flirting with it. You know what I mean? Okay. You can't tease them. We wouldn't be doing it. They'd just be popping up with the awards. Like, I didn't know somebody won. We've been distracted.
Starting point is 02:07:36 Yeah. They got to do better with giving out awards, I think. I think go back to giving out at the end of the season. Not while playoffs going on and people distracted by other things. So, yeah. I mean, it used to be a big thing. It used to be like a press conference. It used to hold everybody.
Starting point is 02:07:54 We had to hold your trophy up and actually have your thing. Now you're just like, all right, man, come on here. Yeah, like, listen. Come get this shit. I'm throwing some jeans and a T-shirt on. Come on here and take that. Like, who said I wanted David Robinson to give you the trophy? That's wild.
Starting point is 02:08:08 Shit. Who said I want him? It used to be the fans. Shit. Tim Duncan. Why Tim couldn't give it to me? Shit. Why come to him with me?
Starting point is 02:08:16 Can you hand that to Tim to hand to me, please? Him up there looking blessed. Him up there like, I'm blessed. Biblical. Yeah. Right? Like, he on the farm with a bunch of animals and shit. He doing it. Preparing those art.
Starting point is 02:08:30 Yeah, Moses, yeah. Those art. Right? Shit. Got a bunch of... And when he just pulled up his, what, peach? Peach. Just like this.
Starting point is 02:08:38 Peach swimming shorts. So they're like this. They don't have no continuity up there, man. They all just... Like, yo, y'all dressing like... We're dressing all black today except for the Dodgers. They ain't have none of that. Lifelong Dodgers fans.
Starting point is 02:08:52 That looks bad, bro. But that's San Antonio Spurs. That's crazy, bro. You said four? I didn't see the people in the background. It look like family and friends. Yeah, it's just family and friends. Family and friends. The, it's just family and friends. Family and friends.
Starting point is 02:09:06 Family and homies. The janitor up in there. You could have zoomed that shit, man. I think I've seen the cookout fold-ups, too. Cookout fold-ups, chairs. I think those are in the back, too. How are you going to just come with those? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:09:20 This is a press conference for the NBA Rookie of the Year. Think about that. Cleon was quick. Spurs' future very bright, like y'all mentioned. Last NBA Rookie of the Year. Think about that. Cleon was quick. Spurs' future very bright, like y'all mentioned. Last two Rookie of the Years in Castle and Wimby. De'Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, Devin Fussell, Kelton Johnson, potentially 40-year-old Chris Paul off the bench. There's also been some talk about Kevin Durant, his future with the Sun.
Starting point is 02:09:41 Spurs being one of those potential destinations that KD could take his services to in the near future. But how far are the Spurs from becoming a true contender in your opinion? Obviously they're gonna need to bolster this roster a little bit, but it seems like guys want the opportunity to play with Wimby. It depends on what happens this summer. Yeah. But I still like where they're at just with Castle and Fox and Wimby, so give it a year or two.
Starting point is 02:10:04 Yeah, two years. And they got a bag. You still have a little bit of a bag to pay people out. So other people come to the team. They're two first-round picks in this draft, if I'm not mistaken. They do? Yeah, they can still do. They can do a lot, man.
Starting point is 02:10:17 Wow. That's crazy, right? I don't like the KD move, though. KD not going there. KD going to Houston. I'll put KD. They too young. Too young for KD.
Starting point is 02:10:26 I'll put KD in Houston. KD might go to Boston. Houston, Boston. No, stop it. You are pushing that move. He's going to go somewhere where they got a chance to win. KD got, what, two more years? For real.
Starting point is 02:10:38 He have his, what, 27 this year? Yeah. He's a for sure bucket. Efficient, too. So if anybody needs an efficient score that can get 27 that you don't have to worry about it, it's got to be a contender. He go to Boston, he ain't getting 27. Why not? I don't know.
Starting point is 02:10:54 He can just post up in the corner. They got to double off somebody. No, I'm just saying, just be on the lookout for Boston this offseason. Something's going to happen, dog. I'm telling you. They're not just going to sit around here. For Mr. B. But you feel like.
Starting point is 02:11:06 You must know something. Celtics won the chip. Obviously, re-upload a lot of those guys. Sam just said it, too. Sam just said it. What did he say? He said that Boston is spending. Don't be surprised if Boston do some offseason moves.
Starting point is 02:11:16 If they win the chip, whether they win or not, you think Celtics are going to make some moves? Kind of have to at this point. I mean, I'm just. Look, look. I'm just looking at it like this. Jalen Brown has two NBA rings, right? And then he has a finals MVP.
Starting point is 02:11:28 I just believe he will probably want to go do his own thing. That's just me. I mean, maybe not. I mean, maybe he might want to stay there and be under, you know, Jason Tatum. Because Jason Tatum is still going to be the franchise guy. Now, if you're cool with that, then that's fine. But I just feel like Boston, knowing Boston and knowing how the league is going, they're going to make a move, dog.
Starting point is 02:11:47 Like they have too many pieces. OKC got a bunch of draft picks. Jalen Brown might be feeling like that. OK, OK. Brown, he's smart. He's chilling. He don't need all that pressure. It ain't even about the pressure.
Starting point is 02:12:00 It's just that I got two rings, and I'm already solidified. Like I'm solidified at this point now. Like, I don't care about, like, yo, y'all want to keep going, but I'm solidified. I got my own brand. I like to do my own shit. Like, don't get it. Like, he like to do his own thing. So it's like, yeah, it's cool. Like, I got two. Why, though? Why would you want to
Starting point is 02:12:18 go somewhere else? Shit is not always green over there. No, no, it's not. You got to deal with all that. And then, why are you just chilling right now? Jay Z Taylor, you take all that. I'm over here. No, it's not. You got to deal with all that. And then why are you just chilling right now? Jason Taylor, you take all that. I'm over here. I'm creating my brands. I'm still getting paid the max every time I get read up.
Starting point is 02:12:31 From them? Yeah. From Boston? He's about to get the max every time, right? Can they afford that? Who? Boston. Dan and Brown signed the max.
Starting point is 02:12:38 Tatum signed the max this past month. Yeah, they both signed the max. They're both under contract. They'll be cool. That's their spot. If they keep doing what they're doing, he's going to get to Max every time. Something, though. Why?
Starting point is 02:12:48 Why? Okay. As it stands, they have them both lined up through 2029. What about Porzingis, then? Porzingis over there? I can't hear that. He's all that. He's all that.
Starting point is 02:12:56 He don't even play like that. But I'm not giving it. Derek White is staying over there. Porzingis has one year left on his deal. And they would take cheaper deals, too. Drew Holiday is getting older. It seems like Porzingis, potentially Drew Holiday,
Starting point is 02:13:09 would be the pieces you would want to move in the situation. They're not going to want that. I'll work for the free agent this summer. Porzingis, depends on how Peyton feels, you'll probably get something good for him. Peyton ain't going nowhere.
Starting point is 02:13:24 He's signed. Peyton is locked up. Yeah, he's chilling., they gonna where he signed they got a pain is like Yeah, yeah, he chill. That's what I'm saying. They all chilling. You gotta find a way to get off Contract why by why Brown why they're making the money well winning championship or not They have around 223 million dollars committed to the roster next season But then you already know like you don't win you don't make money when you win a championship. You lose money. You know that.
Starting point is 02:13:46 We already talked about it. So they're not making money? They didn't make money last year? No, they're making money, but what I'm saying is, we're talking about contracts and money. Everybody else is getting better, too, and they're going to have to get younger
Starting point is 02:13:59 at some point. They're going to have to bring in some type of young dog, like something. Young? They like, what, 26, 27? Yeah, them two. It's the dog. So what if Giannis goes
Starting point is 02:14:09 somewhere else? That's fine. Like what if like Jokic and them like all go somewhere else? Like you're going to have to do something. That's fine. All right. All right. All right. I know KD is not the answer.
Starting point is 02:14:26 KD definitely is the answer. For that, if they want to get. KD, 27 a night? You crazy. Nah, KD. You crazy. Man, KD going to sit right there in that corner and go sit right there in that. Ha.
Starting point is 02:14:36 Every time. First of all, Phoenix, they try and get picks back. Boston don't have no picks to give or nothing to give back. So what you can do. All right. So what you can do is you can give Phoenix the picks, right? And then Jalen Brown can go to OKC and then...
Starting point is 02:14:49 Why would OKC want that? Yeah, they got Jalen... They got this stuff already set up right there. They number one in the West. They watch out. If anything, KD gonna go there. Go to OKC. He'll go there.
Starting point is 02:15:05 Making that even trade. All right, how many pictures? Look at the Boston. Huh? Hell no. Stop trying to mess up Boston. I'm just asking. Why you hating so much?
Starting point is 02:15:13 How am I messing up Boston? Why you hate? You won't. You don't even want to ask me for this Boston. I see your plan. You've been trying to give. I'm sick of Boston. I'm sick of them.
Starting point is 02:15:20 I'm sick of that fucking leprechaun. Just leave us alone. I'm sick of all that shit. Just leave us alone. I'm sick of it. I'm trying to find a way. Get these. Split this shit up. I am sick of them. I'm sick of that fucking leper. Just leave us alone. I'm sick of all that shit. Just leave us alone. I'm sick of it. I'm trying to find a way to get these, split this shit up. I am sick of it. I'm tired.
Starting point is 02:15:30 I am not. They're not even doing anything. They're trying to break us up, man. I'm in this area where I see Boston Celtics win three or four in a row. Yeah. Hell no. That's the best thing. Hell no.
Starting point is 02:15:37 Y'all just make sense. Hell no. You see, you see. Y'all make sense. Let Jalen Brown go do his own thing and let that black man be himself. Nah, he good over here. He don't even want that right now. Gotta be under the shadows of a light-skinned man.
Starting point is 02:15:50 Don't listen. You ain't under no shadows, boy. Yes, he is. Jalen, you're under shadows over there. You see what they're trying to do to you? Nothing. Mr. B, if I was a basketball fan, I would agree with the narrative you're trying to push right now.
Starting point is 02:16:00 Tired of that. It's like the Dodgers. We need some pitching. OK. Every time Boston, listen, and you know what's crazy? Every time Boston win a championship or two, you know, the Lakers win one after that. So, I'm just letting you know. Anyone win lately?
Starting point is 02:16:10 I'm just letting you know. You can't do that. I'm just letting you know, dog. You just got our ass whooped. 4-1. That's fine. And you don't think the league see that? The league finna lose money.
Starting point is 02:16:20 The league let it happen, Mr. Smith. They let it happen. Where's our fandom cause? We ain't getting no tech. Nah. Yeah, I don't know. Break that shit up. I'm just saying, Boston, there's other shit out there. Common foul. Common foul. You can go get
Starting point is 02:16:35 that boy from BYU that's coming in in the year, too. Shout out AJ DeBensa. Cooper flagged there, too. I'm just saying, man. Trade up for a pick. So we asked to chat are Wimby Castle the next great NBA duo? 52% of the chat thinks that Wimby and Castle are the next great NBA duo. Mr. B, I'm just going to let you know, I really appreciate what you have going on here. I'm trying.
Starting point is 02:16:54 We've got to create tension and dissension around the league. You almost had it last week. Misery loves company. We want all y'all to be miserable, too. It's your holiday bit. I'm trying. But let's move on to Mostly Fans, presented by the folks at Underdog. Go ahead, download the Underdog app.
Starting point is 02:17:10 Use promo code, Gil. Get up to $1,000 in bonus cash plus special. How you been before you know how we get down? I haven't heard in a while, Mostly Fans. We got the music, everything's out to the crew. Yeah, I did mention Drew Holiday. He did mention Drew Holiday in our one on one. He's available in August, too.
Starting point is 02:17:25 No, but guess what, Drew Holiday? He ain't say nothing back. You see what happens when somebody don't say nothing? You stop saying their name. If I don't bring up your name, don't talk to me. Mr. B. But he's available in August. He told me.
Starting point is 02:17:38 He told me. He told me to tell you. That's the special guest. We're going to settle this shit since 11. That's the special guest. Drew Holiday probably going to win another going to settle this shit since 11. That's the special guest. Drew Holiday probably going to win another ring, and then he going to come play me one-on-one. And win again. Like, he just going to keep winning.
Starting point is 02:17:50 No, no. I mean, not against you. He might beat Ty Lawson. No, no. But I'm fucking with you. Yeah, for sure. He'll jump at it. Shit, three dribbles.
Starting point is 02:17:57 He can't guard this left hand. Step back. He can't guard another left hand. Two left hands. Hopefully that shit falling that day. Me refereeing and shit. Yeah, right. So, two left hands. Hopefully that shit falling that day. Me refereeing is, yeah, right. So travel, man, travel.
Starting point is 02:18:09 Bam. Our first question, appropriately, from Underdog User. Caw-caw. That's his name, caw-caw. Stop. Dyson Daniels won most improved over Cade and Zubat. Would you have voted that way? From Underdog User.
Starting point is 02:18:22 Caw-caw. I believe it's a hawk noise. How do you spell that? CA dash CA WWW who won Dyson Daniels Oh most improved player over Cade and meets a Zubac Would you have voted them? Thanks a dance from the land. I didn't know that
Starting point is 02:18:41 Over a day. I said most know you were the most improved overkade. Andy Vita's robot. Bro, it's just, bro, I'm sorry. It's just hard for me to give a number one pick the most improved player. I'm sorry. Like, you're the number one pick, so I expect you to be, you know what I'm saying, you know, where you're at. So I don't, I don't, like, if I'm the number one pick, I wouldn't want most improved. Like, I'm supposed to be the guy. That's why I'm the number one pick, I wouldn't want most improved. Like, I'm supposed to be the guy. That's why I'm the number one pick.
Starting point is 02:19:06 Like, that's why you drafted me. Like, I'm supposed to be an all-NBA. I'm supposed to be an all-star. Yeah, all that. I don't know. I just feel like it's kind of like a slap. And if you give a number one pick a most improved, it's like, damn, I'm that bad? But can they, we all can improve in life, Mr. B,
Starting point is 02:19:25 and on the basketball court. By making all NBAs and stuff and making the All-Star, that's your improvement for sure. I feel like the most improved is for the corner boy and people that make jumps and shit. I don't feel like if you're already a top pick or
Starting point is 02:19:41 your name is already up there, I don't see how you could get most improved. Yann could get most improved. Like Giannis got most improved. Did he? He came out, he was raw. But Giannis was a what? What pick? He was 14. Yeah, 15. So I feel like if you're a top five pick, nah, watch out. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. You top five. You got to, you know, after that, then yeah. Should there be a corner boy award?
Starting point is 02:20:02 That should. Most valuable Corner Boy? For the most. Most improved. For the best percentage from the Corner 3? Hell yeah. Because the Corner 3s. Look at Ray Allen. Ray Allen don't hit that Corner 3 up against the Spurs.
Starting point is 02:20:18 Miami don't win. Most people make a living off the Corner Boy. You know what I'm saying? They hit that 3, they getting paid. Their life is set. So there's a lot of people out here just aspiring to be that corner boy. James McDaniels. Yeah, so I think yeah. James McDaniels.
Starting point is 02:20:31 That should be a new award. That should be a corner with a liquor store. That should be a round bag. Do it at the liquor store. Round bag? Bottle in it. Just give it to him. Patrick Beverly would have had about five of them motherfuckers.
Starting point is 02:20:40 Him. A what? Patrick Beverly would have had like five. For a corner boy? No, liquor store. Oh, yeah. Just give it to him. Patrick Beverly would have had about five of those motherfuckers. Him. What? Patrick Beverly would have had like five. Corner Boy? No, Liquor Stove.
Starting point is 02:20:50 Oh, different. Corner Boy and Liquor Stove. Yeah, they're different. Liquor Stove is like your Defenders. Dive on flows, get elbowed and shit. So like the Tony Allens. Tony Allens type, you know. They got the look too. They got the look of this liquor store. Arr. So our last question from underdog user Hyphy420.
Starting point is 02:21:09 For the Black and Mild. Hyphy420. The Black and Mild Award to Dorian Finney-Smith wins every single year. He's a true liquor store. Black and Mild. Uh-huh. Next question from underdog user Hyphy420 said, who you got in the game tonight? We got Knicks or Pistons?
Starting point is 02:21:26 Knicks are up 3-2. We also got Nuggets and Clippers. Nuggets up 3-2. Pistons. You got Pistons at home? Pistons forced in game seven? Yeah, the league wants that too. I'm rolling.
Starting point is 02:21:40 I'm rolling. Nine-game home playoff losing streak. Top of the six for the longest in NBA playoff history. Seems like they are destined to win a home playoff game at some point. Got to play a lot. Now, this Clipper one is kind of – see, because Jokic ain't had that game yet. And I just feel like he – I'm going to pick the opposite of whatever you picked today.
Starting point is 02:21:59 All right, I'm going Denver. I'm going Clipper. Because yesterday we picked the same and we was wrong. All right. We picked the Warriors yesterday. All right. I got Denver. I got Denver closing out today.
Starting point is 02:22:10 I got the Clippers winning today. Okay. I think both LA teams are going home. I mean, well, one LA team. One's already gone. Yeah, but this one for sure. Oh, no. It depends on how James plays.
Starting point is 02:22:25 I think they motivated them yesterday. I think that Aaron Gordon dunk killed their whole momentum. Yeah, because they was rolling. I think that killed the momentum, and then Denver was like, yo, that's what we need. Like, that's what we needed. They might win the chip off that one dunk. Wow.
Starting point is 02:22:42 Seriously, bro. They might win the chip off that one dunk. Seriously, because listen, might win a chip off that one though. If Denver get past this Clipper team, they getting past OKC. It's going to be tough, but I think they will. It can't be OKC.
Starting point is 02:22:57 How are they going to guard Yoko? Yoko is just a problem down there. When he gets to the end of the game, he's getting fouled or he's making the right play every time He can't got nobody else who? Jamal Murray and when Jamal Murray's coming back in that one that one five pick a roll is wild. They got lucky They got lucky lucky. That's what? That's what yeah, they weren't supposed to win that game a couple games
Starting point is 02:23:22 That was what that was what I mean? I was looking tired luck the window you do need luck to win that game. A couple games. That was luck, though. That was luck. I mean, that was luck, but you need luck to win, though. You do. You need luck to win. I'm so tired of this Boston shit. This team right here is... Get it off your chest, Mr. B. Thursday. They can't lose. Get it off your chest. I understand.
Starting point is 02:23:39 They like the Warriors the second time the second year after KD. I mean, with KD. Where did this hate come from, though? Where did Boston hate come from? Where did it come from, this Boston hate? Like the Rockets in first place? Because it's like, you know, every time Boston start winning
Starting point is 02:23:55 and then the Lakers is good, it's like, you know, you go back to the 80s, Magic and Bird. Like it go that deep for Laker fans and people in L.A. It's like when you see Boston win, it just gives you a cringe. Okay, all right. Here they go. Now we're going to be tied for the most championships. Celtics already have it.
Starting point is 02:24:12 Celtics got it right now. If you don't include in-season tournament championships, the Celtics do have more advantage. It is a championship. There is a banner hanging in Staples. You just always go back to that. And then when Kobe and Paul Pearson was going at it, it's deep, man.
Starting point is 02:24:29 All right. Adam Silver says celebrate and educate. I thought that was going to happen. I thought that was going to let it be Lakers-Boston this year. Well, hey, man. It's just nasty. He over here sitting around with this jersey on. That's crazy.
Starting point is 02:24:43 And you had the Lakers jersey on. I did. But, you know, I'm a Tatum fan, you know. I mean, that's a good fan to be, though, because he's going to be around for the next 15 years. So you got one. I don't see nobody losing. I don't see them losing, too, for the next 15 years.
Starting point is 02:24:59 You don't see them losing for the next 15 years? It might be crazy, you know. We might go in the biggest run ever. And that's the thing. That's why I'm like, they had a chance We might go in the biggest run ever. And that's the thing. That's why I'm... They had a chance to be one of the greatest teams ever. All they got to do is plug and play. Like, this person leaving and just plug somebody else right in. Like KD.
Starting point is 02:25:14 Well, unfortunate end to the show today. Sad day. Thank you all for being a supporter. Ty Lawson, we appreciate you pulling up. Look forward to seeing the one-on-one challenge. One-on-one. North seeing the one-on-one challenge. One-on-one. North Carolina!

Starting point is 02:25:46 33 times in the NBA and it was 30 in China. Four of them. Ni hao. Ni hao? You let him talk. I probably had a school of 28. I don't know. I was out there.
Starting point is 02:25:58 Lie. See how he's trying to be too off. In China at first, I didn't even want to be there. So I was over there chilling. But once I got over there, I was having 40-point games, 50-point games, 60-point games. I was wilding. You know what I'm saying? At first, I was like,
Starting point is 02:26:13 I'm one foot in, one foot out. I know that feeling. You know what I'm talking about. So after I was all the way in, I was like, these niggas can't poke with me. Then that's when I started going in. I filmed all that, so I got an interview with you before that game. Okay, so he was there. But Mr. B, you did not give me an interview that game.
Starting point is 02:27:03 You said move around. No, I didn't. Politely. I have no tape. But this is before we got close here on Gil's Arena. I he was there. But Mr. B, you did not give me an interview that game. You said move around. No, I didn't. Politely. I have it on tape. But this is before we got close here on Gil's Arena. I just had 40.
