I'm self grooming. I do it myself. You do it yourself? What you shiny buff your nails?
I just do it here. No because sometimes they be buffing man and
they start burning a little bit. Hey just ease Yeah, baby easy easy sitting there you watch the TV. Oh, you see this
Absolutely
You know I'm definitely I started when I was playing for the Nuggets early when I was playing for the Nuggets
I went I got a pedicure so my
Chick took me to get a pedicure first time. I think I don't what it but listen
Compliment you get them compliments.
Like, yeah.
Nice.
Oh, it's okay.
Then you start getting older and you just, no, it's a real thing.
But...
Everybody had a good Halloween?
Yes, sir.
Yeah.
Yeah, you had me crying.
That's it.
The Mario?
That's it.
It was an interesting day yesterday on the show.
I'll just say that.
It was hot.
I knew. I saw her wearing a costume was I knew I saw wearing costumes something was gonna go down
It wasn't gonna be appropriate, but the game is a game. Give security let me in
Let me get my trick-or-treat on in the neighborhood. It was cracking last night. Yeah, had it turned up?
Yeah, not cuz you know this neighborhood. It was really no kids just all older folks like from the 80s
Yeah, they've been dying off. So
I'm just gonna be honest. I'm just going to be honest.
The block was empty for a while.
The block was empty for a while.
So I guess all these younger people moving in,
and they got kids.
So you know, came out.
You know, like two years ago, trick or treat
was no trick or treat.
There was no trick or treat.
Yeah, and I asked you about the neighborhood.
There's some nice yards around here.
Like all these teens coming down.
I was like, damn, I'm sorry.
Usually ain't nobody here.
You ain't got no candy.
Yeah, hell no, I ain't got no candy.
That's how you get your house egged, Gil.
I'm just telling you.
Listen, I thought about that.
But I ain't know there was kids.
So when I left, and it was just hundreds.
Like, wow.
That's dope.
That's dope.
Yeah, I don't think they would mess with your spot.
Before, it was like five,, you know little babies out here
Move along. What would you give out instead of candy? You did get some trick-or-treaters
What what would you give out instead of candy same thing that everybody else do when ain't got candy lights off
Fuck's out there. I know you in there.
This is Gil's Arena
presented by Underdog Fantasy.
As always, we got the legend
Gilbert Arenas here with us.
We got Brandon Jennings here.
Finished.
And Kenya Martin.
Where's Halloween?
It was in Washington.
Okay.
When I got fake robbed,
right, it was like robbers. That was their Halloween costume. So they put the shotgun and everything. Get down. Okay. When I got fake robbed, right?
It was like robbers.
That was their Halloween costume.
So they put the shotgun and everything.
Get down.
Like, wait, what?
Oh, shit.
And it really got down.
It really got down.
And they just wanted candy.
But that was their Halloween costume.
That's a bit far.
That's a bit far.
They was robbers.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a bit far.
Somebody would have died. That's a quick way not It was robbers. Yeah. That's a big bar. Somebody would have died.
That's a quick way not to see November 1st.
Not even knock the door.
Trick or treat.
Oh, shit.
That's a great way not to see November 1st.
Go play those games.
Reindeer.
We got a lot of basketball to discuss today.
Here's what we got cooking in the arena.
I wonder why I cut the lights off.
I remember.
There it is. Here's what wonder why I cut the lights off. I remember. There it is.
Here's what we got cooking in the arena today.
Slim Reaper and Slender Man squared off for the first time ever.
Wimby and the Spurs got the win,
but does the number one overall pick need to be a bigger part of the Spurs offense?
Luka Doncic has been cooking this season,
but will he become the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double?
And James Harden made his first appearance in L.A. as a Clipper,
but how long will it take him to adjust to his new squad?
And we're going to talk about that Terrence Mann screen grab as well
because he didn't look too excited.
But before we get into all that, as always,
the show is brought to you by Underdog Fantasy.
Download the app, use promo code GILD.
They will match your first deposit up to $500.

We don't know how long this is going to last.

So get that five piece.
And we see that the fans are already jumping in the chat.

Video questions been good. Some of the underdog usernames been a little questionable, but that's
all gravy. We love and appreciate y'all. You can send that video to mostlyfansgill at gmail.com.
And if you can't watch the YouTube video version of the show with us, we got audio versions on
Spotify, Apple, wherever you get your podcasts.
So let's get into it.
Gil, you talk about watching DC,
talking about the Wizards.
We got to talk a little bit about Jordan Poole.
Poole partying is in Chocolate City,
but the memeable moments ain't going nowhere.
So first, you know, Poole's a self-disciple,
tried to pay homage to 30,
staring down to Grizzly's bench.
Only problem is he bricked the shot.
Let's watch it again.
They pulled the Nick Young.
And the Kimball Walker.
And the Kimball Walker.
I love the fan cracking,
pointing and cracking up at him.
She wasn't even close to going in.
No.
Didn't rim out.
No, that's nothing.
Just back rim.
So Poole followed that up
with this play against the Celtics
on Monday night.
And shout out Deuce Thomas.
He said Jordan Poole saw Yellowbone in the stands.
Tried to come with him behind the back
before he got blocked by Porzingis.
What y'all think about these Jordan Poole antics?
It was the same thing that
we were talking about season one, is you're going to become a regular basketball
player, right? Is you're going to be a regular basketball player? You was allowed to be a
hooper when you was with the Golden State Warriors because they had players. You're
going to be the man. You can't be a hooper no more. You have to be an actual basketball player.
Like shit like this is, you have to build up for shit like this.
You can't bring your antics of streetball into trying to be a franchise guy.
And I think that's where his brain is.
His brain is on trying to be a sports center guy.
Fuck that, get buckets.
But he said, he already said his legacy was already what it is
because he's an NBA champion.
That's probably why he played like that.
So is this winning basketball or losing basketball?
No, it's definitely losing basketball.
Like, I definitely don't agree.
But, you know, he's talking about his legacy is already legit.
It's like, not really.
His legacy hasn't even started yet.
That's not, your legacy hasn't started, what, three years in NBA? Your legacy hasn't even started yet. That's not, your legacy hasn't started what, three years in the NBA?
Your legacy hasn't started.
Like your legacy is what you do now as a Hooper.
Right now this is what we seeing.
I mean we're going to see a lot of that though.
Oh yeah, I told y'all earlier when I say buckle up.
Pfft.
Right?
Y'all be like buckle up, buckle the fuck up because this is,
it's going to be a lot of that shit this year. Yeah, but that but
until somebody say
And I think that's and I think that's what the Golden State realized last year that you know, you didn't you didn't develop into
Like someone that we can rely on as a basketball player to win championships
I just to win shit at this A basketball player. Yeah. To win championships. Like, just to win shit. At this point, win games.
Yeah.
Right?
I mean, you know,
we think you're about to be
out here scoring 30.
That's easy basketball.
Yeah.
Like, you had Bigfella.
You already ran down a court.
Take him off the dribble.
Pull up jumper.
All this extra shit to get,
I mean, to pull it.
Like, my, my,
I just don't understand
the concept of you
got all the way to the mid rainy to then step back to the three to shoot a harder
shot you have a big guy in his heels keep him on his heels you know for you
to go on your heels to shoot off your heels your coach what sounds help he was
my he was my assistant, assistant, assistant.
Back then he was like development.
Like good dude, very good dude.
My dad is Wes Unseld.
He's Wes Unseld Jr.
Do you think he's man enough to coach Jordan Poole?
Like is he going to, like can he help Jordan Poole?
Oh yeah, no, he'll bench his ass.
Oh yeah, yeah, he'll be.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wes ain't playing that shit.
Because, like, would you have benched him if you, like, would have did that?
Like, if you were the coach, like, would you have been like, yo.
I'd go talk to him.
No, I would have had a conversation at the end of the game.
I'm not going to embarrass him.
Okay.
Right?
You know, I'm not going to take away his confidence, but, you know.
Not this early in the season.
Yeah, but we're going to, like, these are the shots we're not going to take.
Right.
Like, early. Like, you have to earn that with us. Yeah, we. You have to earn that with your teammates. We're in game season. Yeah, but we're going to, like, these are the shots we're not going to take. Right. Like, early.
Like, you have to earn that
with us.
You have to earn that
with your teammates.
We're in game 48.
And you have to earn that
with your teammates.
Like, you know what I mean?
That's the difference.
Especially since they
ain't seen this yet.
Right?
You know, they've had Beal
who's going to take great shots.
I mean, Kuzma probably
was the wildest of the group who's going to take, you know,
fall away threes, but this is a whole other level of shots.
We saw some of those issues, I think, during the preseason.
He had that big game in Danny Avdi or wherever.
Yeah, and that's the game I said buckle up.
Buckle up.
So Poole's entering his fifth season.
He's 5 for 23 from 3 this year.
22%.
Someone tweeted that Poole hoops like he has his car keys in his pocket.
Fair assessment?
No, it's fair.
I'm hooping.
He's hooping.
Car keys out there just rattling.
Come out there with the jean short-toed.
Jean short-toed.
Hat on back. Cut off shirt. He got his hat back with his jean short-toed. Jean short-toed. Hat on back.
Cut off shirt.
He got his hat back with his jean shorts on.
Cut off shirt.
So this summer we had Andre Iguodala on the show.
He predicted that Iggy would average around 25 this season.
You know, thought he'd be putting up like 30 at home,
getting a good home whistle.
He's only averaging about 19 points per game through three games.
It's a very small sample size.
But what does Poole have to do to get his game back on track?
Play NBA.
Take better shots.
Play NBA basketball, man.
Yeah, play basketball.
Like, you look like, I think Steph said it.
He said, you know, nobody, everyone's
looking at my finished product, not how I started.
I think that's the problem with the youth and some of these NBA players.
You're watching a guy after he developed his confidence and got his thing dialed in, not
the stuff from when he came into the league, 2008, 9, 10.
You're looking at this stuff now turning around.
He wasn't doing it in the beginning of his career.
Like, pay attention to what he was doing,
taking quality shots, getting to his spots, pulling up.
And then once he got that confidence
and once he became a legit threat,
then some of the antics started coming in.
You know, right now, you really haven't established anything
to be doing some of the things you're doing.
So, good, you had a similar trajectory anything to be doing some of the things you're doing. So, good.
You had a similar trajectory going from the Warriors to the Wizards, getting the bag.
How hard is it to go from being second, third option on the team to being that number one guy?
It's hard, but it's earned.
You know, you earn it in practice every day.
You earn it in the game.
And when I first got to Washington,
I wasn't the number one option.
It was Jerry Stackhouse.
But with Jerry Stackhouse missing games
and, you know, my game is, you know, coming along,
that's when they got rid of Jerry,
Brung and Antoine.
Antoine was coming off six men in a year, right?
It was me, him, and Larry.
And, you know, there we just playing together. And, you know, at some point, the year, right? It was me, him, and Larry, and there we just playing together.
And at some point, the cream rises.
And that's how it is.
Right now, it's him and Kuzma trying to figure out
who's going to be there.
But the one who plays consistent basketball
is the one who becomes the man on the team,
not the one who can be on SportsCenter every day. That's what you want, then you're going to be on SportsCenter every day.
One way or another.
Yeah, you're going to be on SportsCenter.
Whether you like it or not.
We're making or breaking, but if you average a 16 and Kuzma averaging 28,
motherfucker, that's the man on the team.
So it's obvious Poole made those comments about,
I won a championship, my legacy's good,
playing with the Warriors for all those seasons,
coming out in his fifth season.
It seems like he has a chip on his shoulder
coming from a winning franchise now to the Wizards.
Like, when you watch his game, Brandon,
do you feel that kind of same way?
Like, he's coming in thinking I'm the man.
It's like, to Gil's point, but you got to earn that.
I mean, well, they don't really have much,
so he has to be the man.
But like Gil said, I mean, you know,
he just needs to play basketball. hoop like because you're gonna get
all the love all the you know everything that comes with it but I think now we
just want to see him actually hoop and actually just have fun and get some
wins too with that like just show people that you can win and you only go to Yeah, just take quality.
Better shots.
Really?
You know, because it's not going to continue.
You can't play that way, man.
It's just tough.
To your point, if that's what you want to go out and be,
then all right, we understand it.
You want to be on SportsCenter every night for good or bad,
then have at it, young man.
More power to you.
But if you're trying to be the guy on your team
and lead your team with some wins and create your own legacy,
then you've got to play different.
If you want to score 30, 35 a game, you have to be simpler.
You're not going to be able to score 35 a game playing like that.
That's too much energy.
You're using too much energy.
Like, I got this shot right here, but I'm going to bounce it.
Two steps right here to fake it and turn around.
You're spending way too...
I done already shot it, got back on defense, and I'm coming back it in two steps right here to fake it and turn around you spending way too I don't already shot it got back on defense and I'm coming back for a whole nother shot while you still fucking around
Right in
Well, you still sit here doing all the other and shot came back and I'm about to shoot a second shot
Right, and I don't think players understand that if you look at the players in history
90% of their scoring is simple.
One, two, pull them.
Get to the basket.
Give me a little and one.
And then once they done hit four, five in a row,
then they're going to hit you with some shit for that heater.
The heat check ain't the shit y'all doing right now.
This is the tip.
Like when we see Steph, right, when he's barbecuing,
that's his fourth three going in. That's the fourth one.
That's not the first three.
The first three is going to be, get it, okay, now I'm cooking, let me see what I can do.
You're not going to be able to make four threes doing this.
Easier.
Easier buckets.
Get them in, and then when you get to 25, 26, then you start fucking around and then you miss two, three in a row,
then go back to being simple again.
Yo, I got to go.
I'm horrible.
You think they're going to talk about when Steph made CP touch earth on the baseline
where he bop-bopped him and made him-
Oh, nah, nah.
You think they're going to talk about that?
Sometimes you just don't need to say stuff.
How'd that feel though? You look across the locker room and be like, yeah.
I made you, I made you touch earth.
These reporters?
Oh, yeah, for sure.
These new reporters?
Oh, yeah.
You talking about Steph and C.P.?
Yeah, yeah.
Is that already established dominance if you've done that to somebody?
Like, you don't even need, like, you want somebody's ass in a fight. Like, you don't even need... Like, you wouldn't bite his ass in a fight.
Like, you don't even need to...
Yeah, that's that thing, like...
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, yeah, it's that one of them side eyes, huh?
That's an argument ender?
Like, yeah.
Yeah, I made you touch earth.
I don't want to hear nothing else.
Yo, he bought...
That shit...
Oh, I was watching highlights of that dude the other day, man.
That dude was amazing, man.
And that's the highlights.
Yo, that shit is amazing.
Just...
I mean, I'm not saying that he's a good guy, but I'm saying that he's a good guy. I mean, I'm not saying that he's a good guy, but I'm saying that he's a good guy. I mean, I'm not saying that he's a good guy, but I'm saying that he's a good guy. I mean, I'm not saying that he's a good guy, but I'm saying that he's a good guy. I mean, I'm not saying that he's the other day, man. That dude was amazing.
And that's the highlights.
Yo, that shit is amazing.
Just his behind the back end and out step.
And he know that bitch going in.
It's the one when he was not just the baseline.
Remember when they was at home and he was dribbling through everybody, the Clippers.
Clippers had the blue uniform. That was yeah, yeah. That was crazy, too.
On the left wing.
On the left, like, yeah, absolutely.
But that's what I'm saying.
That was crazy.
But that's what I'm saying.
Those are moments in the game, right?
These guys are trying to create,
and I think that's the problem,
that trainers are watching these moments,
these one-two moments in a 48-minute game,
and then you're trying to use this as,
I'm going to teach you guys that.
The players who's doing it never learned it.
They've never done it.
It's all regular reaction.
Oh, shitty move, I got to go.
Oh, you came back.
Like, someone's out there teaching their kids
what Steph did to Dylan Brooks.
No, for sure.
Yeah.
Hit him, fake it, then come back.
And then boom, and then fake it,
because every defense is going to do what Dylan Brooks did. I mean thinking oh they come back come back and boom it didn't fake it cuz every
I do what what Dylan Brooks did I mean?
Some kid is getting used to shooting a whole bunch of shots like that when that's where yeah
Yeah, like yeah like Steph. He just created that he didn't know he was going to do that
Like you're not something and some else I saw in this shit these people so
Crazy in basketball they put I think they was playing And they switch fucking Rudy go bear saw in this shit, these people so crazy in basketball,
I think they was playing, and they switched fucking Rudy Gobert out on this boy.
And he, the top, the top, the pop, him, and he just knew Steph was finna shoot that bitch.
Nah.
I'm like, yo, this goddamn boy, man.
How you switch, like, how is that ever in the game plan switch and we gonna switch Rudy on stuff
If it's a double we do we gonna switch the last one like no get back. How is that ever?
Thought of in any game plan going into a game with this man
Hey trying to stay out really patient. Hey Rudy if you get out there just try to contain them Yeah, because most of the pick and roll because what they do is pick and roll anytime Steph comes off
We're gonna do we're gonna switch it because 99% of the pick and roll is with Draymond Green not Looney
Yeah, and then Looney come out there and say the pick and roll and they're like switch
Yeah, that's exactly what's going on
Think Tim and he just hey Rudy knew he had a block
Mm-hmm. Oh, let's keep this thing moving
Obviously the biggest news coming out of Halloween James Harden getting traded to the Clippers Harden pulled up the Staples Center on Tuesday
to link with his new teammates
crypto
There was crippling in crypto. Yeah, that's a little bit in crypto. That's the Clippers locker room. Yes, the Clippers, bro
So hard to share the moment with his former ha ha ha. I mean, I'm saying it's okay like it's not
Like a visitor's locker room
Crippity crypto hard to share the moment former Thunder Rockets teammate Russell Westbrook
They were laughing giggling, you know, the Clippers definitely need their own arena now
Yeah, I didn't know that was their locker room. That locker room looked like a visitor's locker room.
That is the visitor's locker room.
They're not the Lakers?
Wait, they don't have their own locker room in there?
Yeah, they got whatever was left over.
That is.
That is.
When I played there, our home locker room was shit compared to the Lakers' locker room.
It's the Lakers, and then you got the Sparks, the Kings, Clippers.
So the Sparks and Kings got a better locker room?
Fuck yeah.
It's time to move.
It's definitely time to move.
This was probably Magic Johnson party room back in the 80s.
No, they wasn't.
No, this was probably...
Oh, that was before?
Yeah, that was before.
That was the old one.
I did.
You know, like,
it had secret rooms back then.
This is probably one of those.
It's all right.
Clippers, go in there.
That shit's trash.
No, it's like the house
with two master bedrooms
and...
The one downstairs.
The one upstairs.
Yeah, the one downstairs.
Yeah, yeah.
The one downstairs.
Yeah.
It's your oldest child. That's crazy. That's why I have a queen in it. That got a queen in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One upstairs, one downstairs. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One downstairs, yeah. It's your oldest child.
That's crazy.
That's crazy.
That's why I have a queen in it.
That got a queen in it.
Yeah, they should never show that locker room.
I know one thing-
No cameras allowed.
Listen, I know one thing that was going to be a problem when I walked in.
If I'm James Harden, I walk in the locker room and everybody on their phones, they're
standing up.
As soon as I walk in, everybody on their phone like, hold on. Wake up, wake up. phone like hold on wake up I'm coming in hey how you doing how you doing how you doing how you doing like they
just sitting there like he doesn't walk being here all the staff is just yeah I mean there's
the excitement it started with go to the back It started with that whole wall right there.
Go to the back.
Back up.
Back up.
Back up.
Back up.
Look at them right there.
Now, y'all going to shake my goddamn hand.
Y'all going to shake my hand.
Y'all going to shake my goddamn hand.
That's media.
No, that's media.
Shake my hand.
That's the media.
Nah, the terrorist.
I'm saying, yo, that's the media. Om is media. Yeah, that's the mean odd the tears the tears
Home is media
Yeah, that's me. Oh
That's me. Yeah. Yeah
Here's man's eyes is hilarious. Yeah, we got a show we got a certain the tears man photo
That's how your girl look at you when you're laughing on your phone. I'm about to drop a dime on him.
Yeah.
We don't like this.
So Gil, you know Gilbran, you've both been traded to a new team during the season.
What's the adjustment like when getting traded and how long does it take you to feel comfortable
with your new team?
For the most part, you know, NBA players usually, I mean,
unless you got some riff, you know, from when y'all played, you know,
NBA players usually, you know, welcome, you know, the new guys.
They're just trying to understand everybody's pregame routines, you know,
like just for me that was the hardest thing,
like knowing everybody's pregame routine like who goes and
gets taped and what what is the order of getting taped and how early i got to get here to get
like you know what i mean it's like putting your routine in a group that already has a routine
you know uh i think for me i think it depends on when you get traded like if i you know i got
traded to detroit in the summertime so coming in i was i had time to you know, I got traded to Detroit in the summertime, so coming in, I was, I had time to, you know, adjust.
I think the hardest one for me was when I came to Washington after the Knicks.
I wasn't comfortable at all because I came in towards the second half of the season and
they already was rolling.
So it was kind of like a, I was kind of there, but I wasn't there, like in a sense.
So I think it's all timing and when you get traded.
And how much do teams offer resources?
Do they try to help that transition,
or they're just like, yo, go figure it out?
I mean, when you first get there,
they're going to try to find you a house.
You've got to take your physical and things like that.
But after that, it's kind of like on your own.
You've got money. It ain't like we've't like, you know, we got to like feed you
and take, you know, it's like you got money,
so you should be able to move around.
I mean, is there somebody there to tell you, all right,
you can rock with this part of town.
Don't mess with over here.
Yeah, motherfucker, you got Google.
Google.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, like when I got to Detroit,
they told me to stay over here on this side.
Like, don't go over towards 8 Mile and all that other stuff.
Like, you know, but other than that, it ain't,
I mean, you got money, so you living in the rich parts.
Yeah, I was, uh, when
I heard I was getting traded,
I was already at the airport.
I got, when, hey, we thinking about
trading for you, right, because, you know,
me and Washington, I was,
y'all gonna do it or what? It's about 60%.
I bet, I grabbed
the pair of shoes,
went to the, no luggage, of shoes, went to the,
no luggage, no nothing,
went to the airport.
I was in their facility
before the trade even happened.
Like, y'all got to trade now.
Y'all got to trade.
I'm on a practice course.
Wait, so you went to the airport
or you went to the facility?
I went to the airport,
flew all the way to Orlando
before the trade was done.
Oh, so you knew you were going there.
I'm in the practice facility working out.
The trade ain't even happened yet.
I get flabby.
I would have flew all the way back.
Pay my own ticket.
I'm good.
Took a cab all the way to the arena
60% See we say that's good enough for me. Do you take a cab to the arena? That's the fun. Yeah
Nobody knew I just had a pay. I just had a pair of shoes in the back pack
I was everything back into the Nick took all your shit after you left, right?
They owe me a tattoo Nick Young owe me a tattoo anyway for the bet.
I was like, I'm getting traded.
Ah, they ain't trading.
I said, let's bet then.
Let's bet $100,000 I'd be traded by the end of the week.
He bet?
Yeah, he bet.
He never gave you your money?
Nuh-uh.
OK.
Nuh-uh, no.
I bet him $100,000.
He got to get tattooed.
Of what?
Agent Zero across his ass.
Big letters. him a hundred thousand he gotta get tattooed of what agent zero across his ass big letters
i mean i see why he don't want to do it
i mean i understand why he don't want to do it but yeah that was the bet though
bold letters too man that curse is just big blocks. Just stripper mode.
Just a follow up.
How hard is it for young players when a star comes in,
taking shots and minutes from them?
Do you not care?
No, I don't.
I'm coming.
Hey, I don't give a fuck about y'all.
I don't give a fuck about your kids.
No, it just depends on the person, man. Did you understand?
We I mean we hear you
You got earphones on we need bro, that's what makes this show great
No, it just depends on the person
Honestly it just depends on the person man if. If you, where you are in your ego.
As a young guy?
I mean, if a star is coming in, he's a star.
I mean, you, I mean, you know.
Yeah.
You're going to fall, you've fallen in line.
Like, you're a young dude that's coming in and you're like, oh, this is my team.
Or, you know, I'm getting these kind of shots and then boom
You know, yeah. Oh shit Jason Tatum came
If somebody been feeding it like no you demand you demand you demand fuck all that
Yeah, you have a hard time adjusting but if somebody been telling you the truth
Along the way and your ego is in a certain place and then you have somebody that comes in
of a statue of a Jason Tatum,
so to speak, then yeah, it depends on the person.
I mean, I had to deal with something like that, but I was on, like, when Monte came,
but I was the man, but Monte came and I had to adjust how I played when Monte came to
the Bucks, because he was a lecture scorer and things like that.
But I mean, like you said, it just depends on the person. But I was more spoon-feeding him because he was,
you know, he's a lecture scorer.
So he was, you know, I mean, I felt like if we had Monte
early, like my second year, and we would have been able to run
it off those next three years, we
would have been really good.
But you know, it was a time when Skiles was out,
Skiles was leaving, we had to adjust
coaches and Milwaukee was trying to find different ways.
So I kind of caught Monte towards the end.
If I had him early, it would have been better.
And let's talk a little bit about the Harden side of it.
Knowing what you know about this Clippers roster, we see that Terrence Manfoe, we're
not going to look too much into that, but we saw Norrin Powell also.
Neither one of them dudes looked up from their phones.
How do you think they're going to handle a guy like Harden coming into town?
it's gone
yeah, I mean I watched the first few games and
What I saw was you have two guys that's really trying to
make they step on for the team bones and Norman Powell and
one of them, well, both of them look like they're trying to go out
and win six money a year.
Now that's going to be affected because they mean it will be affected
with having those guys there and shots and rotations going to change
and what you're going to do with Terrence Mann now.
He's not a big-time scorer or player, but he was expected to start and play major minutes.
What you do with that?
You got Bones.
He's hurt, right?
Who?
Well, for now.
Something small, though.
It ain't nothing.
Yeah, that's the problem, though.
You know, it changes just like that.
Yeah.
Trajectory. You can come into the league,
and you can come into a season,
and you priority, and, you know, you out for two weeks,
and that's it.
Right? All that hope and dream went out the window
because someone's, like... When you tell, like... This goes for everybody, right? All that hope and dream went out the window because someone's, like, when you tell, like,
this goes for everybody, right?
You know, be prepared because you don't know
when your number's called, right?
That's how we're taught as hoopers, right?
So, you know, you get hurt for a week
or something happens and someone gets called
and they've been preparing for that call, them two weeks
could be now you on the bench, right?
And that happens to a lot of people.
Like, you know, whatever he thought he was going to do is out of the window now.
Now you have to come off the bench and now you got to compete with these three and become
a team, a bench team.
Have you seen that happen during your career?
It happened for me.
Okay.
You know, with Larry Hughes hurting his ankle, right?
Game, you know, game 41, game 42, Bobby sure didn't want to start.
He liked, you know, how he was coming off the bench.
So, he was like, all right, Gil, you're going to start.
By the time Larry came back, I was in motion already.
And then they tried to insert him into the starting lineup.
And then I'm coming off the bench 18, 19.
All right, we're going to put the young boy back in.
And then from there, it just took off.
And then Larry had to end up being a two.
And then they just cut him out of rotation because they didn't want to pay him.
Yeah, but see, you kept going.
And that's the attitude I think guys got to understand, too, is like, but you kept working hard.
Like, you kept, you still stayed, you still did what you had to do, right, at the end of working hard. Like you kept, you still stayed,
you still did what you had to do. Right?
At the end of the day,
like,
so,
okay,
James is coming over here.
That's still not going to stop me from working hard
and still,
and still staying ready.
But that's what I'm saying.
You have to,
but that's what I'm saying.
You have to be ready.
Like,
cause,
cause you never,
I mean,
we don't know what's going to happen.
No,
it is the Clippers.
You know?
Yeah.
I'm just being real.
Yeah.
So I just think,
just stay ready. Just stay ready. and then, you know, yeah, it'm just being yeah, so I didn't think just stay ready just stay ready
Um, and then you know, yeah, it'll all work itself out though. If you stay ready you keep working
So brown now you kind of answer this a little bit already, but we got a great mostly fans question
It comes from underdog username cap a lot shift
talking about Harden
How did you guys adjust to playing with another star like
Montae and Kenyon, you with Melo and Chauncey?
I wish I would have had Montae early, like my second year. If I would have had Montae
my second year coming off the lockout, that's that lockout year. Yeah, I mean,
man, I mean, if I had Montae and John Salmons, we would have did, like we would have did damage. Like if we would have been able to get I had Monte and John Salmons, we would have did damage.
Like, if we would have been able to get Monte early and John Salmons,
we would have been able to do damage.
And then I would have been, I would have took the role,
like I would have took the role into actually being a real point guard
because now I have two scorers for sure.
Like, I wouldn't have to try to score and force all these shots.
I would have been playing like I did with SEA.
That's the thing. People, I mean, they know the the bucket getting, what, 35 a game in high school,
but we're out of necessity. You know, you watch a McDonald's game or just watch, you know,
you like to give that ball up and take more pride, I think, in getting assists and getting buckets,
kind of buckets. I mean, you don't like scoring, but...
You got some nice dimes.
Yeah, yeah, I like to, you know, I like to go to lob, like, so...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then, Kenyon, from your side?
Yeah, for me, it was an adjustment to not come in and be overpowering
when I came to the Nuggets because I could have easily.
No, no, no, no.
This is real basketball shit, right?
People that know the game.
If I would have came in with my chest poked out from day one in Denver
and demanded a certain amount of shots and this, that, and the other,
it would have stunned Mello's growth, so to speak.
It would have took some of that away.
If I would have came in and be like, fuck that, I need 25 shots tonight.
Ohio need a shot tonight.
That's going to cut into that.
Yep.
Immediately.
He in his second year.
So when I got done with him, he was in his second year.
Dang.
People don't understand that.
Like, I took a back seat because I, like, let him be the scorer.
I do what I need to do, you know?
But the adjustment comes when then you add AI into the mix
and then you got a JR that's aggressive offensively
and then you get rid of AI and then you bring Chauncey in.
Like, it's like all of those adjustments needs to be made.
Shots, when you're going to get shots, like all of those adjustments needs to be made Shots when you're gonna get shots like all of those things. So if you
Like for me, it was never about the scoring part of it, which I could have easily made it that
But the adjustment comes if you mature enough to do it and for me I felt like going there. Okay, I can do that then
But we would have had chance as long like to your point with Monte and we would have had Chauncey, to your point with Monte,
if we would have had Chauncey
for multiple seasons
with the group we had,
ain't no doubt in my mind
we'd win the championship.
No doubt in my mind.
You went there what year?
2004.
Dang.
If I would have,
as a free agent, as a free agent,
as a free agent, that was the team I was supposed to go to.
2004?
No.
2000.
2000.
2003.
That was...
Yeah.
My free agent year, so it would have been Mello's.
So I would have been there first, then Mello would have got drafted.
Then Mello would have got drafted there, and first then mellowing out of that. I drafted there and then
No Though three wasn't no I would have been the free agent with Mello
so same your Melo got there because the way yeah because yeah because uh
Because Miami was they got Dwayne Wade. That's the same draft same draft. Yeah, so my my
My free agent here I'd have been with Mello.
But they signed Andre Miller.
They signed Andre Miller at the point
and then they wanted me to run a two.
And I'm like, nah, I need to be the point
and he's making, I think he's making 51 million
and they're going to pay me 53.
And I'm not $ million dollars better than him
I'm sorry, but it would have worked though. I'm like 20 something
But that would work no no, I hope you know that right no no no
No, I see I seen with them shooting guards doing the people boy right there
No, no, but Dre was Dre a pass. He was a guy so you would have got all the shots
I don't know everything you needed from Dre
He ain't no I was thinking about that defense. I wanted to guard Dre not
The shoot. Dre would have guarded the other guy. He would have guarded the two but I was like, oh
Yo, so you saying that that team that y'all had my rookie year with Chauncey like like that was the perfect
Like y'all would have had that early. Okay. Absolutely. Yeah, that team was good. What did Chauncey bring to that squad?
stability Like, y'all would have had that early. Mm-hmm. OK. Absolutely. Yeah, that team was good. What did Chauncey bring to that squad? Stability.
Stability.
Stability.
Mm-hmm.
We didn't need the handicap that we
had in the second chair, calling fucking plays and fucking shit
up.
Like, we didn't.
We had a coach on the floor.
That new time score situation, when to get Melo his shots,
when to get Gerald,
when to throw me the ball, when Nate ain't proposed stuff. It was... So we didn't need
that. He was over there.
Yeah. He was over there, but we didn't need him.
We didn't need it. Like, we could've not. We definitely would've won something
big shot.
Yeah. That's serious.
Like, when they traded big shot with Melo to New York, I was livid.
Because we still would have been decent.
Of course we're going to miss Melo.
But Big Shot proving we could be a team,
and what he did in Detroit, if you got nice pieces,
we still would have been solid with Big Shot
if they wouldn't have traded him with Mellow
in New York.
I would have fucked with Mellow.
Who did y'all get back?
A whole bunch of motherfuckers.
Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Feldin, Timothy Marsgolf.
A whole bunch of motherfuckers.
Was he already out of shape by then?
Who that?
Felton.
No, no, he don't look nothing.
I don't look like that.
Ray was with us in New York, too.
So then after that, I left Denver, Clippers, then I went to New York,
and then Ray was on the team in New York.
So y'all left New York and then went back?
No, I know.
He left New York and then went back.
Yo, so your favorite five in Denver, right, that you would want to play with, could that team compete with the champions?
Denver? Yeah, absolutely. Oh, with this current? Yeah yeah yeah absolutely. Yeah so what's the lineup?
So one, Chauncey. Who's y'all two? JR? No, JR came off the bench.
Aaron Afalo, Mello, myself, Nae Nae, we had Bird, JR came off the bench. Aaron Afalo. Aaron Afalo.
Ooh.
JR, Aaron Afalo, Melo, myself, NayNay.
We had Bird, JR.
Was Camby still there?
No, he was gone.
He was gone.
Anthony Carter.
I think AC was, or was it Chuck Yakins?
AC might have been the backup to the-
You'd have some work
for that championship.
Around that time, I think so.
For a game...
Yeah, so a
seven-game series?
That would be good.
Who got in Joker?
We had bigs.
Yeah, him and Nene.
Nene was good. You got Birdman coming off thes. Yeah, him and Nene. Nene was good.
You got Birdman coming off the bench.
Yeah.
That's a good combo.
Like, no, I...
You put Nene on him and then he's...
At the rim waiting.
That or...
I got him. I strap up.
I take the challenge.
Yeah.
One thing he gonna do, he gonna have to work.
Yeah.
It ain't gonna be... It wasn't gonna be no cakewalk like it is for him now
You have to work for a little about my favorite, but I think my father I think our my five would be the Bucks championship
team for five
My five that my favorite five that I play with with this. Okay, man me
Monte can't shoot on No, he can with. Okay, name them. Me. Uh-huh. Monte. Can't shoot. Uh-huh.
Okay.
He can score.
Okay.
John Salmons.
Can't shoot.
Drew Gooden.
Drew Gooden and Andrew Bogut.
At that time, yeah.
They can... That sounds like an 80s lineup.
You didn't land, man.
You're going to stand in the lane.
What do you mean?
Salmons couldn't shoot. Monte couldn't shoot like that. They're scorers. I know, but they couldn't shoot, Montee couldn't shoot like that.
They're scorers.
I know, but they couldn't shoot.
They're scorers.
We're going to back up.
We're going to make you shoot.
That's fine.
Good.
You know what I do.
We don't need them.
Huh?
Then you don't need them.
I think we have a chance.
What would be your approach to Garden Joker?
Sit in that lane.
Sit in that lane.
See, the thing is about me. Come here.
Come on.
Gil, what's my best attribute defensively?
Like, not me knowing the plays.
Not knowing the plays?
But besides that, what do I do?
You take away not knowing the plays?
But now, like, individually, like, on the end, like, what do I, like, if I'm guarding.
Intimidation.
What you got to worry about?
Me doing what? I can tell you. guard meditation? What you got to worry about me doing what I?
Can tell me stripping you uh-huh I use my hands, bro
Like oh yeah, yeah, you not spinning you not doing anything comfortably with that ball
As soon as you go to turn my first
Thought is a strip
Anybody okay who it is and I got quick ones. I'm going up down My first thought is a strip. Anybody.
I don't care who it is.
And I got quick ones.
I'm going up, down.
I'm going to get my hand on the ball.
And if not, you got to worry about me stripping it here.
And you got to worry about me contesting it up here.
And if I miss it once, I'm going to swing it twice.
And if I'm guarding you in the post, you got to worry about me pulling the chair on you.
You got to worry about me poking the chair on you got to worry about
Me poking the ball from by you got to work. It's never the dog never the same
It's so much it's so much shit to think about if I'm guarding you
Could y'all get that John Wall in them, huh? I said could y'all get that John Wall, you know, yes, our team
Yeah, it'd be the shit out of them with John Wall and John Wall Bradley building them. Yes
Hmm beat the shit out of them. Hmm. Hmm and Bradley Billingham? Yes. Beat the shit out of them?
Beat the shit out of them?
Yeah.
I can pick any one of our teams.
Me, Larry, Antoine, Jared Jeffries at the five.
So who's going to guard John going downhill?
You guarding John going downhill?
Yeah, it's faster.
He's just as fast.
And he's coming left.
You faster than John Wall?
He's just as fast.
And he's coming left.
You faster than John Wall? And he's coming left. Same. I don't know where he's coming left. You faster than John Wall? Oh, he's just as fast. Oh. And he's coming left. You faster than John Wall?
And he's coming left.
Same.
I don't know where he's going.
I used to do that shit in practice.
Go that way.
Jump off the left leg.
I need you to jump off this leg.
I know you can jump off.
See, that's tennis is that people don't know.
Which what happens is when I make him go,
and I used to teach him that in training camp, right?
When we're training camp, and I watch all his highlights.
All right, he doesn't, he's, I got to treat him like you, right?
So I'm treating him exactly like you.
Go this way, right?
Now, when he tries to jump, he can't jump like that off this leg,
so he tries to jump two feet.
Just jump straight up, right?
So, you know, it's, yeah, it's learning people's tendencies.
I'm just, I mean, I'm just asking.
It's learning people's tendencies and things they do. It, I'm just asking it's learning people tendencies and things
They do is watching them watching what they do in any situation. Okay, you gonna spin it or they gonna drop droop it
It's learning all that you're watching. Mm-hmm
Okay, when I play you I'm gonna make you do this so I can get this advantage
I'm gonna make you do this so I got you here
I'm gonna make you catch the ball here because I know what you're gonna do when you catch the ball here right back then and
then he and then the problem with his shot back then is, you know, he
catch the ball, he holds the, you know, like we hold the ball here, he held it
like this.
So when he decided to do something, by the time he got here, he's already
coming down.
I'm not talking about John Walruki.
I'm talking about John when he got about, let's say, like five years in. Like John five or six years in with that team.
Smacking.
John and him was not...
John and him had to...
I mean, no, no, you know...
No, no, I'm saying, but everyone nights until you...
You know, we got three people that was scoring 20.
And I'm at 29.
We're going to be out and posting them up. Like he wouldn't have the guard me would have been what bill
I spent most of my time in the post
Yeah, I know I would have to guard you. I was annoying
You're a fight against a player that told you before the game. There's nothing you gonna be able to do with me
Remember you told me that?
He said, yo, I watched tape on you.
I saw your big.
He's going to drop off, and I'm just going to come off the screen
and shoot every time.
I had to come out the game the first five minutes.
Yeah, I remember that.
So we asked the chat two poll questions.
Do we have those poll results?
Can y'all drop them in for us?
Y'all just asking fucking poll questions and shit?
Say, Kenya's best five
versus 2023 Nuggets. Who wins?
You can't ask that.
How the hell are they supposed to know?
The chat, 65% on the 2023 Nuggets,
34% on Kenya. They ain't never seen us play.
I'm about to say, the A squad
was crazy. And Brandon, we got the same thing
about your five versus... Oh, yeah, I already know
they're going to kill me. That should be 95
to five, and the five is just all from Boston.
90 to 10.
Oh, okay, yeah, that makes sense.
90 said 20, 21 bucks, 10%.
Yeah, we had a squad.
We defend, man.
But this is us just making up
our favorite, like, our team,
the team that we play,
like, our players that we play with.
Our favorite?
Oh, no, I'm talking about
the team that I had.
Yeah, like, our starting five
that we would want to play with
with the Wizards.
So, like, everybody...
Oh, so I can't use, I can't use. No, no, no, like... No, no, no with the Wizards so like who everybody else like you I can't
I was like no no no it was our actual team. Oh, yeah, I actually we had a shot. Yeah
No, I believe that we had a fuck. I definitely believe that
Me, I mean one while it's always so that's what we were so young but I like our our best team is when
it was me Larry Antoine at the three,
Jared at the four, and Brendan at the five,
only because we were taller.
So Jared, he had played a three,
so Antoine can go to the four if the four didn't score.
If the four scored, Jared would play the four defensively.
You know what I mean?
We had one of those type of lineups.
Because there's one thing, hey, Chad, one thing you don't understand.
Michael Porter Jr. nor Aaron Gordon has a chance in hell at guarding Carmelo Anthony.
That's a fact.
That's a fact.
Trust me.
That's a fact.
That's a fact.
Not a chance in hell.
So, doing that, if it's a series
Mellow averaging 35. Yeah, yeah for sure. That's a fact and a series against them. He's averaging 35
And he would have been bullying them bullying them. That's a put them in the post doing they do and you gonna be both
You got to put the other one on me
Or nene.
I like it. And I think, like, with Larry, it's, he played defense, too.
Absolutely.
He played defense, so having him and Jared play defense and Brennan playing defense, it was kind of easy.
Okay.
But, you know, the Quran, the Quran just brung a whole different type of nasty to it.
And people didn't realize that Jared was the biggest piece that we lost.
Nobody understood.
Jared was our shooting guard, offensively.
Quran three, Antoine four.
But defensively, he guarded whoever.
But it was the big lineup we had.
When we got rid of him and then got Deshaun Stevenson,
it actually brung our lineup back small,
made Antoine actually be the foreman.
Okay, okay.
And when he became the foreman, he had to guard the Dirk
and Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan
when before he didn't have to guard them.
You know, we'll put him on Bruce Bowen. Go guard that or Bonner. Fucking guard Bonner and, you know Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan when before he didn't have to guard them got you know We'll put him on Bruce Bowen go guard that or Bonner fucking our Bonner and you know
You know sometimes people don't really under yeah, you know you forget like you you don't know how important just this one piece is to the
Evolution because people don't understand basketball. They look at the fact that he not scoring 25 a night
Yeah, and I understand what he doing for your team and making everything simpler defensively.
Like,
they don't understand that shit.
Oh, wait.
Stack Jack at the three.
My bad.
I got Stack Jack.
Steven Jackson played in Milwaukee.
Yeah.
I like my scores.
I'm with the two.
Wolves.
Fives.
Oh, we're not,
we're putting together a team.
Oh, yeah.
I'm going to have
AI at the point.
Cha-cha.
See, yeah.
We're putting.
Yeah, that's it. Yeah. Your favorite five. I'm going to have me, Marcus, and Na a I Point to Chauncey. Yeah, we believe yes. I said, yeah Yeah, like I'm a refinement with me Marcus and nene bird man. Yeah, if we put together a team now, you get together
Yeah, just the players that you play. Yeah, but you know if we put huh?
Just imagine if I get me
Yeah
And give me and give me Reggie and
Give me Reggie Evans too.
Reggie Evans was crazy.
All five of us is bigs.
Yo, I used to be scared of Reggie Evans.
Hell yeah.
I used to be like, what? He play? He got a contract?
Bro, when I was in the big three, that's all I complained about.
Hey, so how many fouls Reggie Evans get again?
Just unlimited. Aw, man, I ain't letting this man hit me unlimited times. Hey, so how many files ready haven't get again? just just just
Unlimited. Oh, man. I ain't let this
Limited time
Me read same team twice. We played Denver together and played the Clippers together
Could you imagine?
Me and him yo
Like he's that type of he's that type of dude that like because it's like it's not just like he ain't just going to get the rebound
Right, he gonna hit you do all this grab you he's gonna do all this extra shit
Yeah, come on swim you
Sides your head to get there. Yeah, now Reds go home got it
Yo, yeah, we won the playoff series with Nick Young.
We played the Grizzlies.
Nick went crazy in game seven.
Yep, yep.
Me and Reggie was down there playing D. Nick, Moe Williams, all them offensively,
we was taking turns.
Z-Bo thought, and Marc Gasol thought that shit was sweet.
Yeah.
Now Chauncey told Vinny D'Ade Negro, like, are you trying to win this game?
Because he was about to put Blake and DJ back in the game.
He was like, yo, you trying to win this series?
He said, if so, you need to leave them two in.
Vinny Del Negro.
What?
Horse shit.
Vinny the Black.
Horse shit.
Horse shit.
Oh, look, man, Reggie, y'all.
Man, Reggie threatening people so bad.
We had this team event, and we do like a little team dinner.
They got like a little speaker.
He with the team, but he not in the locker room.
He got the key can and shit, like about the little nut grabbing incident that they call ready for he wasn't too happy about that
Oh boy
People like go talk to him King not a chance
Y'all talked about that man, you always got that team in the locker room that you just like
He talked about that man y'all deal with it. Uh-huh. It man lost his shit on them people man. I was in there
Get him everybody got that teammate get him expect me to because it's okay. No, that's your light. No, yeah
Y'all let him loose. Y'all figure it out. Y'all remember Nigel Dixon and with the Florida State. Mm-mm. Big, like, aggressive, like, yo.
What team?
He didn't play in the league in a while,
but he came to us in training camp,
and him and Eddie Nahara got into it,
and Eddie punched this boy in training camp.
Nigel is, don't take this the wrong way, big fella,
like, the closest thing, like like to silverback I've seen like how's your big beard hair like what like big old black girl hey
and Eddie punched it do they get into it in practice Eddie punched him
oh my god oh I'm gonna break my foot off in your ass, Nahara.
Oh, damn.
Yeah.
See, he hit him?
Yes.
So, you looked him up, right?
Yeah.
That's Nigel Dixon.
Hey, wait.
Eddie punched this man, yo, and everybody tried to grab him and I stepped back, yo.
Uh-uh.
How old is he? You put your hands on him. I stepped back, yo.
How old is he?
You put your hands on him.
Good luck.
Is he from Detroit?
He look like a big trap.
Yo, I don't know where he's from.
Is he about like 40, 39, 41?
I don't know.
How old Nigel is now?
What year he got?
We Googling.
We're efforting. Listen, man.
I ain't got off track.
I'm sorry, but yeah.
He is 40.
He's born in 80.
Yo, is his name Refrigerator?
There was a dude at ABCD camp, right?
Did he have a whole bunch of scars on his back?
Yeah, there was a big dude at ABCD camp, right?
Took his shirt off.
He had all these keloids on his back.
And I was like, yo, damn, what's up, real man?
He was like, yeah, you know, when I shattered the backboards, right?
You know, glass cutting.
Oh, wow.
Probably could have been.
That looked like him.
Could be him.
Probably was.
Called him the refrigerator.
Probably was.
Probably was.
And Eddie had
You know, I think jelly was a nickname Eddie had to
Audacity to put his hands on that man. Yeah, he crazy
He told me I'm gonna put him a break my foot off in your ass. Nah, hurrah
Last name
And everybody was trying to grab him, and he was pushing motherfuckers off.
I was like, y'all, good luck calming him down in this bitch.
And I might have been like, he might have played one preseason game.
I was like, we probably want to get him out of here.
Oh, he needed one.
We probably want to get him out of here because he get his hands on Eddie.
Damn.
So let's get back into it.
Yes, please.
We learned something interesting about James Harden this week as well.
The man has three phones.
One more than Kevin Gates, one less than the 14th he's been on the past two years.
When y'all look at that, what's the most phones that one person should have?
I'm not going to front whoever took this.
They snitching.
Like, yo, leave that man alone, bro.
Some people don't even need to know he got three phones.
Yeah.
Snitching.
One phone.
One phone is fine with me.
One phone.
That's all you need.
I got one now.
I had two forever.
If they screenshot it, damn it, I did it.
It was me.
Yeah, I got one.
It was me.
I ain't hiding. It was me. I had two forever, but now I'm... If they screenshot it damn it I did it
You know because other teammates had to then it becomes one of those things where
You have one for family one for the work right or like the work. You don't like really want yeah I'm with your regular phone, right? You know, that's usually how it is.
But what ends up happening is one phone die.
And you're like, shit.
So you end up giving the one you don't want to have the regular number.
And then, you know.
Never that problem.
Yeah, but in the league, we had two phones.
But once I got out, got a girlfriend.
I got one phone.
Yeah, I got one phone now.
I was at my...
I ain't hiding.
I was at my peak.
Work phone?
Oh, no, work phone.
You got the work phone.
Literally, I had a bad phone.
Like, it was strictly nothing but that in it.
It's just too much now.
And it was, at one point, it was A through Z in that joint.
Hey, did you... Oh, context was a through Z in that joint the day did you did you?
Context they through Z dog. Did you leave him? Did you leave it in a locker room when I was single?
No, I didn't leave shit. Oh you single with two phones, but but I was yeah, but two oh when I was
Doing my thing. Yeah, I had two phones for a long time
The best two phones to have back in the day was the Sidekick and the Nextel.
Yeah.
No, I had Blackberry.
Or Blackberry.
I mean, yeah.
Whatever I had, I had two of them.
Yeah, so you had the Nextel, the Sidekick, and the Blackberry.
With the chirp.
See, I just had the Blackberry.
Where you at?
I had the Blackberry, and then all the girls had Blackberry Messenger.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I had whatever it was.
Whatever came out when I was there, I had two of everything.
When it came out, I had two Nextels, I had two Sidekicks, I, whatever it was whatever came out when I was do I had two of everything
When they came out I had two next tails. I had two sidekicks. I had whatever color so you would notice Yeah, you know, but I didn't care like I was everybody would when I was around people
I had my phones wasn't a secret. Oh, yeah
I had my Dwayne Wade sidekick LRG sidekick and the one person
The one person who was in my main phone through all my bullshit. I married oh
Look that's those guys. Oh, she's not she's not she never got in the back phone
the best was never in the back phone like
Like I had teammates who put they like they had they bat phone put it in the yard buried in the yard
I had a little place in the yard where they put it in the ziplock
Put it in a day like come on
Too much I did that early on like I had this on my roof in my arm
But the basement ceiling the basement in my mother my mom
The ceiling in my basement it was low like this when I first got a girlfriend
No first got to leave I just go downstairs and stick it in because she couldn't reach the shit
I just put in the roof and the ceiling but after that I just I said fuck it
Man listen back then like before I do two phones all of this write the phone number on the top of the uh
the door
The top of the door you get a ladder get up there, write the phone number up there, boom. It's
the top of the door. Who's going up there? Nobody's going up there, baby.
Yeah, Steve.
Nobody's going up there, baby. And then I got slick, too. I got slick because I heard
one of the players got in trouble, right? I guess he had a girl over and she called
herself from the house phone. Oh, no, you better get a second line when the girls come over.
Put it in your second line.
So if someone tried, oh, I got to check my messages and stuff,
they got your second line number.
So you got your second line.
All you got to do is just give your back phone to the interns.
Or just leave it in the locker room.
Yeah, or just give it to the intern.
That intern that always looking out, here, man, just keep this. When I we have... When I see you on the road, you know, give it to me.
Especially if you go...
Yeah, like, I'm not...
Now, the best thing...
I mean, now they don't even...
I mean, they don't care.
Now you just leave your phone unlocked.
Yeah.
Go in there at your own discretion.
Go in there and look.
You're going to find what you're looking for.
Yeah, if I leave it right there, I'll leave it.
Leave it unlocked, be sitting there.
Go ahead, do you.
Leave your phone on purpose
just to see it
and then come back.
Go to the bathroom, yeah.
If they screenshot it,
damn it, I did it.
Brandon Janning's bar.
Yeah, nice.
I'm at bar 2024.
What was the first phone
that you got
that made you feel
like you were him?
The first phone?
I'm not going to front.
I was...
I'm not going to out here I'm not gonna

What was it?
Chirp, chirp.
Nextel.
Nextel?
Nextel with the chirp.
Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Walkie talkie.
Chirp, chirp.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
I had a burgundy joint.
Actually, no, you know what?
I had a burgundy nextel.
Yeah, I'm gonna say, no, the two-way.
Y'all remember the two-way?
Yeah, two-way, yeah.
Yeah, I'm gonna say seventh grade, I had a two-way.
That was the...
That was that, right?
The two-way, yes.
The two-way, yeah. The two-way. Nextel, two-way, yes. Okay, nextel, two-way. That was the that was that right the two-way. Yes
Next to it. Yes
They came out the sidekick
You can beam information yet, but next to the different ringtones. That's what all of that's the next I was everything We used to go to come to swap me when I was Dominguez and we used to go to and get our ringtones
That Cupid by 112 was everything used to be playing that through the hallway loud
Yeah, then the sidekick like ringtones. I'mid by 112 was everything. We used to be playing that through the hallway loud.
Yeah, then the sidekick, like ringtones, I'm saying the Nelly Country Grammar was popular.
Ringtones was everything.
Ringtones was everything.
Yeah, that's when we started blinging them.
Yes.
Ringtones was everything.
The custom kickers.
Shout out to Soulja Boy too, he made a lot of money off the ringtones.
The exchange of information with the simple tap. I never had one, but I had a bunch of
teammates that did. I always wanted one.
Yeah, bat phones. Favorite ringtone, you said? Yeah, but I had a bunch of teammates that did. I always wanted one. Yeah, bat phones.
Favorite ringtone, you said?
Yeah, because I didn't get my first Cupid. The Cupid 112.
Mine was the fabulous Hollaback Shorty.
Yeah, yeah.
And that's when Soulja Boy came.
Yeah, yo, that was that yeah
Back down memory look like
So let's talk a little bit. I didn't have no girls to call
Get no girls back to I was broke
Sitting on the beach 50 ain't nobody calling me man
That's why I don't remember what phone I had. Shit. He said, there ain't no chirping me, man.
The shirt was crazy because you can chirp them like this.
You can chirp them all day.
31 issues.
Pick 31.
No numbers sitting on the end of the bench.
Ain't no hello,
leaving no tickets.
My tickets was taken.
The only person that ever came
to my game on the road
was my daddy.
If you got a next...
If you got a next till now,
you the police.
You the police.
If you got a next till now,
you the police.
Don't over here chirping for it.
Blackberry was the shit, though.
No.
Blackberry was the quick take.
That was when people got the good.
That's when texting became a real thing.
Texting, texting,
and then the sidekick with the aim because you didn't give up your number. Remember you had to give up the aim
Yeah, my name I don't need my number when nobody even texting back then it was a so many contacts in that
Rolling for days. So just for the record little Wayne's lollipop officially holds the record as most
Bart ringtone of all time five million sold at 2299 each. Ringtone game was a hustle.
Lollipop? That's like 2001.
What the fuck was that?
What phone was that?
I was damn near in the league with lollipop.
You know that ringtone in 07?
What phone?
2008, I don't know.
What phone was popping back then?
It was this. it was the iPhone yeah I'm gonna say was the iPhone I didn't get iPhone until like
2016 17 2016 17 so what you doing in 2009 2010 like very like very messenger
and then 11 12 like that because you can hide everything on blackberry measures
so I didn't have no phone it was just blackberry messenger had him in groups so from 10 to 17 you post that on the internet like girl
Threesome girls girls that good at fellatio. I had it all like if you go on the internet right now Gilbert blackberry
Messenger list I just girls I respected one
I was savage early the best thing the best the one I like don like, the one I like was when he was going on dates.
Huh?
When he was going on dates with the girls
and he was talking about them.
That was hilarious.
That was the best one.
Let's talk a little bit about Paul George.
It was Halloween yesterday.
Paul George pulled up to the Clippers,
dressed as Waldo.
The Razor Paul.
Pumpkin P.
Yeah, I like that.
Pumpkin P. The, I like that.
The Clippers official account may have set him up for some future slander.
The tweet that the Clippers posted, you know, about an hour ago when I checked, had 11,000 bookmarks.
So y'all know you're not super active on Twitter. You do get some tweets out here and there, but 11,000 bookmarks is absurd.
That means someone's keeping them?
They bookmarked it to save it for future reference.
Where is P? Where's P?
Where's P? Oh shit. So does PG realize that he just set himself up to be a meme if playoff P completely disappears
I'm pretty sure that was calculated outfit. I mean, you know, I mean that's that's a calculated outfit right there
Where's that's a where's Waldo, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah
calculated I
agree
He knew what he was doing. Yeah
He's a masochist. He likes that
that pain
He likes that pain
They're coming. No, they know. Oh, yeah, and when March come watch they gonna be out there the March
That's gonna come right back around you go see it. Oh
Well, I would I would add every time I disappointed playoff
Told y'all who I was
Where's Paul doe and it rhymes with Waldo, but on a serious note
PG was very candid when discussing his legacy with the Clippers and battling injury during his previous four seasons in LA
He said the following my legacy here here is just having been able to finish.
I think a lot of ways, injury prone, inability to finish.
So I can't even say that.
Like, I never go into a summer like,
hey, what do I need to work on to get better?
What do I need to do?
I got to just try to find a way to stay healthy.
So he's been healthy this season.
Obviously, he's early.
PG's having the best season of his Clippers career so far.
He's leading the Clippers in scoring minutes per game.
Currently got splits of 53% from the field, 47% from three, 96% from the free throw line.
So when you look at it, how important is this season for Paul George's Clippers legacy?
I mean, last summer was probably the best summer of his career because it was the first time
he was actually healthy as a Clipper.
One year he had this injury that he had to baby through the summer, then he had shoulder
surgery, shoulder surgery, he had both shoulder surgeries, right?
So this is probably the first summer he went into where he got to really just improve on
something.
So just not for his Clipper legacy.
Who wants a Clipper legacy?
Yeah.
Just for his legacy as a Hooper,
I think, you know, going into this season as a Hooper,
and himself is, you know, very important for him.
He's a Clipper.
Yeah, I think just for himself.
Like, it ain't about the Clippers,
it's about how he wants to finish.
I mean, I still feel like he has one of the
dopest signature lines, shoe lines ever. So with that and everything that he's done in his career,
I think just finishing out strong, being healthy. I just want to see him be healthy.
I just want to see him be healthy and play. It's personal to him and for him It's finished season standing upright sort of sort of speak
Haven't done it and
Fingers being pointed at to why so I think it's it's a goal
He is to play as many games as possible in a regular season and to make a deep playoff run. So yeah, this was
Personal legacy nothing to do with the Clippers. Okay, it's all individual base at this point. I think of course if he's
Healthy and doing he's supposed to then a team is going to benefit
From that so it's like not
Just a clip of legacy before for him for getting back to what we know of Paul George what he can be
Hell of a talent. Yeah, I'm just going to be honest with you, man.
I've been doing a lot of thinking, you know, with these injuries going on
and going back into history with less injuries, right?
I think they need to just go ahead and legalize some of these drugs
that was legalized back then.
Right?
Because, I mean, you're not going to tell me y'all played in Chuck Taylors
running up and down and y'all played in Chuck Taylors running up and down,
and y'all played 82 games.
No foot injuries.
Nothing.
Like, what was y'all on?
Can you go ahead and give us that scene? You know what they was on.
No, no, no.
But I didn't know it was, like, really, like.
You know what they was on.
Like, I was thinking about taking something right now, so I can see if I can come back.
Cocaine, cocaine.
Like, no, seriously. Alleg like allegedly know what I'm saying is think about the shoe the shoes is better
We got all the staff listen they playing 60 games and them boys out there running up and down and cardboard box shoes
No, I know ankle support no tape, but that's because there's people in there talking about the game. That's never played
So how you gonna tell me about my body?
Like, you don't, like, it's too, you know, this guy makes 30, 40 million.
He just needs to play this many games.
Like you said, if you take two days off, like when you was playing, bro, did you take two days off?
No.
Like, did you take, like, you know, we didn't, we wasn't able to take days off with our, like, Scott Scouts, come on.
Come on, seriously.
Like, you ain't, you ain't, like, you got to show your face.
You're going to have a lift day.
You're going to have, like, even if it's a day off, right, you're going to have, like, a therapy day, right?
It's going to be stretching, massage.
Like, you're going to do something.
You're coming in.
Like, they see us.
Like, I don't think they, I don't think these guys even go in a lot anymore.
You might have one day when you get in late
Long road trip and you get in late
Yeah, might have been that day for nothing like pins on the person like you definitely going in the next day for sure
No, but today. Yeah, I'm not
I just just just seen we just seem like weird that is like it is mighty felt weaker
Like if I didn't live like and I didn't I wasn't a lifter, but I'll go in there
Dude like that ten times or something and do like 10 15 push-ups. What can you take creatine?
And then me it yeah, but that ain't good for you though. I just take it out. Okay. Oh, that's why I was crazy
That's why I was going crazy. Oh, yeah.
That's what we were doing. I used to take creatine and Lyft every day and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
I'm pretty sure you caught a lot of cramps.
No, 35 at night, Gil.
Cramps.
No, water and creatine and...
Yo.
Cram.
You didn't catch cramps?
No.
A lot of water.
It's in college.
Yeah, I took creatine in high school.
Because I had no body fat.
Yeah.
Oh.
I know. Creatine take that water out your body. Yeah, I was highine in high school. Because I had no body fat. Yeah. Oh. I know creatine take that water out your body.
Yeah, I had three and a half percent body fat, bro.
I would cut them like an action figure.
Yeah.
We were eating weights.
They was feeding us that shit like two or three times a week.
Come in, they mixing that shit in grape juice.
And grape juice.
Y'all ain't going to know about ephedra.
So you don't taste it.
Giving that shit in grape juice. They't taste it give me a shit grape juice
They got you little well just most lined up on the little window seal you come in got you shaking
I do it that routine with way energy
40 I was I wish you would
40
Y'all need all that man. I was that okay. We had nothing just
Just give me man master P. Sook the shock. It ain't my Oak Hill. We had nothing. Just give me, man, Master P.
Silk the Shock.
It ain't my fault, boy.
I'm going out there to give you that business.
So you saw us at Cincinnati.
That's it.
Mystical.
Yeah, you saw us at Cincinnati.
Yeah, y'all looked like y'all was on a whole lot of stuff.
We was on Cribs.
Yeah.
They was feeding us Cribs.
It's definitely on that.
And it showed.
It definitely showed.
You was on the team with Danny Fortz.
Yeah. Yeah, you was on the team with Danny Fortson. Yeah.
Yeah, you was on the team with Danny.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's probably why we still so crazy.
Still stuck in this.
I took a lot of that shit.
A lot.
Every day.
I had lifting every day.
Career team.
Yeah, we was eating weights at Cincinnati.
Like, our weight program was stupid.
Our strength and condition dude left us and went to Ohio State.
He been at Ohio State
Florida and Notre Dame as they had football strength and condition coach and that's the guy they had working us out. This is me
Let's talk about the mcmurray
Absolutely
So my federal so crazy get you right walking around my neck was I hear
them I was a person I listen to it is going off the Mingus enormous bruh I got
pictures at the house I look at myself I was like yo traps here my neck was this
wide oh let's keep this thing moving so Kenya you were understandably emotional
yesterday on the show and want to apologize for being in the Mario outfit and getting the average girl outfit.
That's all anybody wanted to talk about.
Shout out to our production crew.
What are you doing?
I'm sitting there like, please don't show us.
You had to with that mustache.
I'm serious.
It took a lot of me to cry when you had that mustache on.
I just wanted you to know.
I was like, bro, why they switch to give it a joke?
How to respect for Mario
No, but I
Understand me emotional. I was okay. They KJ got traded to the fixers and the hardened deal
But one of your your former guys, your young bucks,
Pat Bev, fan of the show, Gills Arena alum, he posted this tweet.
He said, he in good hands.
You took care of me.
I got him.
Love, gang.
That's what's up.
So what does it mean for Pat Bev to show you and KJ love like that?
He a hooper, man.
He's been on the show.
Shared moments before I started the game.
And been around him a couple times.
Always respect.
Always genuine love.
So KJ in a good spot.
I don't want people to get it confused.
I was sad that KJ left.
Like, nah, he's in a good spot.
What I was sad about was the family family aspect me after kids and that but now catch in a great place
You got some good guys around and they're going to hoop
That still plays with a chip on his shoulder. He gonna make sure KJ get
adapted early and just to
Be in a same being within the squad. So I'm excited that he got a guy like Pat there.
Somebody who he know what he going to do night in, night out.
And Pat is a leader.
Pat is vocal.
Pat going to challenge him.
He going to get the best out of him.
He going to hold him accountable.
So no, that's what's up.
It's a good thing.
Great thing, actually.
I done thought about it some more and looked at roster
and looked at current situation
and what...
Looked at head coach
and what he is
and system
and previous spot,
how he rock with young guys
and that's available.
KJ is available all the time.
Made 82 last year,
so, you know, it's a great spot.
It's a great situation.
That's what's up.
I appreciate Pat for being there for my young'un.
And Philly going to love him because he play basketball like hard nose,
hard grip.
Like that area out there, they going to love him.
So.
For sure.
And then just a question for the couch.
How important is it for Vets to take young players under their wing?
I mean, that's, you know, that's very important because, you know,
when a young guy comes in, he don't know nothing.
Right?
He's trying to figure out, you know, his footing, trying to figure out, you know, his life.
It's usually the first time they're really on their own,
making all the decisions without any guidance.
So it is very important to be in a locker room
with somebody who is really giving you
positive information, trying to make it easier for you.
For the most part, the outside world,
it ain't coming easier, right, you know
They have an interest in you know, whatever they're telling you
It's you know, it comes with some type of hook, you know your teammate at veteran, you know, it's it's he's already been there
And he's got out of he's trying to guide you make it the curve a little bit faster, you know
You know, so, you know a good veteran, you know
basically sets up your
Your career for you know a positive positive note. Yeah 1000%
1000% it is
It goes both ways
If you learning bad behaviors early you you're going to have bad behaviors.
And if you learn you got positive people around,
that's what it's going to be.
And KJ's, I speak to him coming in,
he's going into his fourth year,
and people that surround him, like guys with the Clippers,
like the younger guys that's older than him,
and they think he they age.
Like, they got a couple 26, 27-year-olds, and because how he carry himself, because he got me.
He got me there to, no, that ain't it, dog.
That's it.
Do this, do that.
No, don't do that.
And that's what it is, is being a vet.
Seeing guys' behaviors.
Okay, that's good.
Yeah, you keep doing that.
Praise him when he doing good.
Tell him, okay, you keep that up. Or if he on some BS, you pull him to the side and say, no, that's good, yeah, you keep doing that. Praise him when he's doing good. Tell him, okay, you keep that up.
Or if he on some BS, you pull him to the side and say,
no, no, that ain't going to rock around here.
You need to change this habit.
You need to do that.
You need to do this different.
That's the way we are around here.
And that's what you need.
And the NBA would be a lot better if you had more of that going on
on some of these teams.
But they don't want the influences of veterans
around telling
guys the real because they want to
influence their thought process
on...
That's so backward.
It's so backward.
That's what it is.
They're still getting...
That's why your value of the players
is still
you're jeopardizing it because there's no think about it the teams that's
veteran team they veteran team they're a mix of vet and younger they got a bunch
of young guys that ain't playing mm-hmm and the veterans just playing there's no
or you got a team full of young guys there's no in-between there's no good
mixture of it when you got the two, like,
just take the Jonathan Kaminga kid in Golden State. In a good situation, if they hold on
to him, if they keep bringing him on, follow Draymond. Draymond, teach Jonathan to do this,
be that.
The Warriors just picked up his option, too, I believe.
Yeah, so that's a good thing for him, him you know to have that and have that toolage in
that around you you need that yeah and just see what he is in three years
because he had all of that when those guys are stepping getting ready to walk
away you got that yeah instead of moving on from him after two years like oh hey
what he thought was gonna be we spent the fourth pick on for nothing I've got
to get like no that ain't the he thought he was going to be. We spent the fourth pick on him for nothing. Like, no, that ain't the way to do it.
He ain't learned nothing.
He was learning from a 19.
A kid come in at 19.
The next year he's 20, right?
You're in the lottery.
You got a 19-year-old.
You're picking again.
Team ain't too much this year, so now you got a 21-year-old, a 20-year-old.
Now you're drafting another 19-year-old.
Mm-hmm.
What are you you you ain't
Not a 21 year old is the veteran KJ was the vet Houston dog. That's just him. He was he had been around for three years
You have to Jalen Jabari
Josh Christopher Alpine Sangoon you you just and you got Aaron Gordon Eric Gordon over here, and he ain't saying a jack shit to nobody because he don't want to be there.
So if you're going to have a vet in there, you at least have a vet that's going to correct somebody.
And you got Kevin Porter in there.
You got all these.
Yeah, yeah.
You got all, yeah.
Like Charlotte.
Yeah, so when I'm sitting around with them dudes, I'm going to watch them on the road,
we're in the hotel lobby,
and I'm talking to these dudes,
and everything that I'm saying is like,
it's the word to them,
because they ain't heard none of this shit.
They all locked in, like,
shit, like, give me more,
or would you, like, talk to me,
like, they would say,
what was you doing this,
or how would you handle this,
because they ain't heard none of this shit.
So what are they doing at Rookie Transition?
Nothing.
Nothing.
They got guys there with the suits and ties and but they actually come out of here one ball
They got my corn balls kept a book and that bitch may ask me to come back
So that's the bad part like before that I did it one time
And they never asked you to come back
That's crazy because because because of this is a thought right and this is the same thought when I was up there or when I was a rookie.
I don't trust, who is he?
I don't know him, right?
So you're telling me I'm not a pen teacher anyway.
So when I was like, yeah, I want to be a pimp, right?
I'm just fucking around for the group, right?
And then you challenge me.
Oh, you think I'm about to stand down on you?
Who are you?
You're a worker, right?
So I re-ch stand down to you. Who are you right? You're a worker, right? So I rechallenged them
but it's it's
Why like you're telling us to?
You're telling us to watch out for something that we all are ready for
Hey, you don't want the groupies and yes, I do. That's why we're here.
As soon as I get my money,
bro, I'm going to the Instagram and I'm about to flex on
everybody who wouldn't give me none.
So I don't want to hear from
now you. You put me. You put
Sean Kemp
up there. Hey, young fellas,
I know what y'all want to do when y'all get your money.
Y'all want to go out there and get
this, this, this. Listen, I got what y'all want to do when y'all get your money. Yeah, y'all want to go out there and get this, this, this.
Listen, I got, here's my child support list.
Ha!
This is how much I spend on child support.
We start like, oh, yeah.
Yeah, I don't know if I want to spend all my money on this.
Right, right, right.
But you need to put real stories, real players that we know up there that's going to really tell us.
Like, that's why I said this.
Y'all are lying.
Every time you put somebody up in there in the suit
You're lying. Yeah, it's the name. They need the truth man, and it's I
Live my life like this and I say this shit all the time when you fear
Fear a list like that if they said they had Sean Kemp on me
So he this is what I spend the child support the fear of that happening to you gonna go a lot longer than any others other shit
Yeah, then talking to well if I'm giving you my story of shit that I didn't been through up on that stage
How can you not sit there bitch?
I'm gonna put some on this thing
Angle, I'm gonna wait some all this shit going through your fucking head
as you're sitting up there.
No, for real.
No, that's real.
Like, it's crazy
because rookie transition
It goes all the way down
to I'm sitting up there
and one of the main things
I heard in rookie transition
was power of attorney.
Don't ever give nobody
power of attorney.
And you told me something.
Yeah, somebody gave
power of attorney
and took all his money.
That's all I fucking needed to hear.
Like they said, but we know
you ain't getting nothing. We know you ain't
doing this. Show me
the example.
Absolutely. Let me see the example.
Like that's what they, they're scared of
the players telling them the real.
What are you trying to do? Tell the
real. But you're not telling it from
someone who's done it.
You're telling it from something you've
heard. Players coming up there
saying, yo, this is...
Y'all think, y'all listen.
You think you got two, three girls? Man, I
had it in a rotation, baby.
Boom, boom, boom, boom. Every city.
Every city. You ain't even got the
name. You ain't even got swag like I did.
Right?
And a player saying it to players that's coming in, yeah, you the number one pick, but you
ain't got that swag like me.
I was the 31 pick.
I had like eight of them.
Eight of them day.
But this was my game.
This is what happened after.
Right?
It makes you really think.
But you telling me something, I know I'm better than you.
Right?
AI, if I'm sitting there and AI's talking, I know who AI was.
And AI said, this is the way I move.
Right?
I had the bodyguard, this, this, this.
We came to the club, but this is what you don't see.
This, this, this, this, this, this.
I got fined.
Hit, hit, lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit.
Yeah, yeah.
And you'd be like, yeah, I don't.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't want to move like that.
Big fella.
I don't want to move like that, big fella.
Right? That's real, though. It comes with, like, we don't want to move like that move like
It comes with like we see the like we see the glitz we don't see
They don't I want the NBA to invite me to rookies transition
Yeah, get my shit off. You know, they need to hear from help real and it's I think my rookie transition We had Ramon sessions talking to us
They want to shame Daddy A.
Come on, man.
Real situation.
I tell KJ, he's talking to a little young lady
before a couple years ago.
I just see her around a little bit and I tell him
don't be surprised if she's
fucking one of your teammates.
Believe that.
He go to Bahamas to look
preseason team retreat
He go knock on the door
Who answered the door? Mm-hmm? He hit me right away
At all young fella
I'm telling you it's like a suicide here in these streets man. This shit is clockwork. It's in his clock. No
It's treacherous out here in these streets, bruh.
That hurts.
Mm-hmm.
No cold. Ain't no moral cold out here.
No moral cold, no violence, no nothing.
Why not?
You said, why not?
She can leave your room.
You know why not.
Yo, man, I done been in a situation where the chick get off the elevator, thought she saw a ghost.
Mm-hmm.
We in Boston, she come to see one of my, I had no idea she was going to see me in the hallway.
Face white.
Yeah, yeah, I was about to say, yeah.
Hey, I can't even put her head down
and start walking fast shit with her bag.
Damn, damn Barney.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
I know you think.
Wilma running fast as shit down the hall.
Wilma?
Wilma patting the shit out of them bitches, Wilma. Wilma running fast as shit down the hall. Wilma? Wilma patting the shit out of them motherfuckers going down the hall.
I love that.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, yeah, but it's the real, like, the shit that they need to hear that they don't get.
Yeah.
I'll be in there.
I'll be looking at, like, hey, how many of y'all got girlfriends?
Yeah, 70% of y'all, y'all girlfriends are going to sleep with another, how many of y'all got girlfriends? Uh-huh, yeah.
70% of y'all, y'all girlfriends are going to sleep with another NBA player.
Why y'all dating?
So get that over your head.
Because you're introducing her to a life.
Introducing her to a life that you are the beginning of.
Yep.
No matter if you're the number one pick, you are the bottom end of it.
There's players on that team that you watched in the mire they watching the mire
They had crushes on they got crushes if you debate
No, if you is you
Right, you know there's a curry in the league that she's been watching LeBron in the league that she's been watching got Jason Tatum She got John Moran. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah You on the road goddammit you on the road you on the road and John Moran hit through the DM
Trust me brother because they always gotta let it go
They all look a hoops those it'd be a bunch of them
Yeah, cuz your girl end up hanging with other girls that's around
Yeah
And that's how I get and then that's how the drama and the pettiness start cuz it's like she hanging around
When did y'all learn that though? When did you learn not to bring?
What the quarter? Let me not?
Know you always know you always let the work be seen like you always you always give her the here you go put her
I'm gonna show you around. Yeah, put her in the lines in and we gonna see who you are. Oh, yeah, you didn't
Yeah, we always do that. We are here to wait
I take some you see me and she was a little too friendly with teammate and
Got told my sister. They was working for me. Hey, we get back. I need you to come to room help to get her shit
Mm-hmm. She like what you do I said you
Where you gonna sleep tonight?
Yeah, like we know it like but the thing is like we know what time it is, huh?
You're a little too friendly you like a nigga. She can't
Joke yeah, you put your hand on his I
Just want I just wanna know where they like why they now same place same place same place, huh?
We're like where are they now? Oh
Listen, I had a we had a funny team do
Rent is due. I just look in the families
We was in Denver the long stretch of plot
Man, which one of y'all got such-and-such here tonight? Yeah. Oh, that's a
Man who got such-and-such over here? Yeah, I
Did this so much news me like god damn came on. Yeah, like yeah, I'm calling them out
Soon we're getting that. Hey, man, who got which one of y'all? And whoever, look, whoever, your ass.
Because the crazy thing is they used to stay in the lobby and wait.
You know, they used to be in the lobby and wait.
When you get there, like, oh, yeah.
Like, listen, I had me, Deshaun.
You know, we had early JaVale McGee.
We had Andre Block.
So we had Tetris.
See, you had guys.
I had nobody in my wife I had to worry about.
We had Tetris.
So it was one of those things, like, if you met a girl, you went,
hey, does anybody know this one?
Does anybody know this one?
God damn it.
Before I give a good season, anybody know?
Oh, this is yours?
Like, better.
You on a team like that?
Savages.
Oh, no, no, no.
You on a team like that?
No, it was Savages. Like, we used to see who they bitch better. Oh, yeah, I'm like that we have edges. Yeah, no, no, no No, it was having like we used to see who they like better like are you here to tell you coming over you did?
All right. She said cool. I don't buy the hit a yo a shirt. I'm gonna come over today. Ah
She'll like you she told us as you go
On the cheek tonight.
Uh-huh.
No, that's what I said.
We was savages, but it became, it was, we did that because,
because what happened was, right, you feeling a girl,
and then you find out one of your boys did it or something,
because you don't know, and then it became little beef.
So it became one of those things like yo, here's a rule
Your main chick your wife your girlfriend off limits special work off limits off limits special I'm a so that's the word. I don't know who special work is that means you know, you know your special work
If you didn't see her more than twice
Fred's eyes are working
She's giving you French. I have a favorite your franchise tag. Your favorite eater. Don't lose your favorite
eater. So those are protected.
Whoa. After that?
After that? Yeah. Up for
grabs. So if you
violated and hit somebody's special work, we're trying
to get you off the team.
We don't want you no more. No, but the situation
is, another thing that's crazy,
dudes bring some work around and you
ask who's who. Like who's fooling dudes try to play that tough shit
And then you pick the one who he and he
Mad yeah, you shouldn't have been playing over what you live poke that now you mad at me. That's funny team dynamic Team dynamic in the NBA. Nah, serious. But y'all was good. See, but y'all teams were good, though.
Those are stories that the rookies need to come in and hear, though.
Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord.
See, y'all teams were good.
Milwaukee, I was the only one, so I was bringing everything through.
Yeah.
See, but y'all were good, though.
Like, y'all were in the same spot.
We were young.
That's what I said.
We was all partying together, so it was one of those things.
Like, yo, we all the same age so mm-hmm
You keep talking about the league's rookie symposium. Why don't we do a gills arena?
Rookie symposium mmm summer league here. I guarantee you these dudes will pull up
You know we should do that in Vegas at the women's in them all down and let's watch roots Watch DMs
Watch DMs
Hey y'all really want to see what your life's about
Everybody open their DMs
Let's start reading them
It's your girlfriend huh
She said you ain't shit
How many of y'all
What you do
Just like bingo
How many of y'all to call a girl name out this cold if she in your DM?
Yeah
Like bingo my kids talk about this tomorrow. Yeah, I remember what happened, right?
McKenzie like showing that he was showing off early. He was like he showed his girls like oh, that's she nice, right?
Man, I look familiar. Oh, yeah
Yes
2000 Oh man
My firm belief showing I get to showed up. Oh, yeah, that's be humble. I'm like, yes, you from Vegas man. That's you figure
Hey, Daddy
Time to move
Time is some hibachi
All right, I got one more question yeah, how tough is it losing your devoted eater in the league? Bleed the fifth.
Yeah, because I bleed the fifth.
No, the devoted?
Listen, at the end of the day, man.
I'm just asking.
No, at the end of the day, it ain't devoted until they actually was devoted.
Right?
You know what I mean?
It's testing.
Everything in life, everything in life, you have to test everybody at some point.
Yeah, for sure.
Like a girl who's great for your mental, she's helping you, the mental part of it might not be faithful to you.
Right?
Somebody who has your heart might not be great with your finances, right?
So, you know, there's different doors
and different keys for different people in your life.
And I don't think people understand that.
Like, you know, like, we see it all the time
where everyone call each other snitches and rats and stuff, right?
Yeah, everybody was loyal until they put that time on it, right?
Everybody's about, you know, protecting you
until you leave $100,000
around when rent is due.
What is
this person going to do?
He tells me who he is. $100,000.
I didn't count it. I got to go on a
trip.
I didn't count it. Scramble it all up.
I want to see if any money missed because it's rent due.
I need last
notice that you got kicked out your apartment.
I need you to hold that.
Same thing with your female.
We've done it all the time.
Like, yo, hey, DM her.
DM her.
See if she's going to holler at you.
And let her go through the process.
It ain't my job to stop her.
Go through the process.
I know, boom, okay, move on.
Right?
Like, we over here, we spend our time
trying to protect something
that doesn't want
to be protected.
That's true.
Find somebody
that's really loyal for you.
That's the one you hold on to.
I think it's harder today.
Because they...
It's technology and...
It's always...
And, like,
women want what they see,
like, what they think they...
Like, it's like,
I don't know, it's just like...
You can't put...
That's what I'm saying. If that's what they want, go get it. Well, yeah, that's like, I don't know, it's just like, you can't put, that's what I'm saying,
if that's what they want,
go get it.
Well,
yeah,
that's what I think too.
Well,
show me,
prove it.
And that's,
that's,
that's what it is.
Please prove it.
Somebody sliding your DM
and that's what you want,
go,
eh?
Bye.
Yeah.
I am who I am.
I can't really do nothing about it.
Like,
it's,
because I ain't never,
especially coming from the female side,
like,
I ain't never lost a battle with a female yet.
If I'm bringing a lifestyle,
what are you bringing?
Right?
It has to be some type of loyalty protection.
You know what I mean?
You got to protect me from me.
You might have to slide on the DM
and bat him off yourself.
God damn it, because I can't do it.
All right, y'all go.
All right, all right.
You know what I mean?
I'm just saying, like.
Let's have some hibachi time.
That wasn't hibachi.
Protect me from me, God damn it.
I got a DM full of them.
You got to go in there and start erasing your God damn self.
That ain't my job.
Spurs came to Phoenix fresh off a 40-point loss to the Clippers,
but that didn't stop Wimby from enjoying the Halloween festivities
We became dressed as
Slender man
That's a good fit for him. Hey, I'm not gonna front you know for him to be so tall
He's still like he comes in looking like, you know, he can dress like his friend. I'm saying like he's oh, sure
You're right. You're right. You're right. Are the French fitted or something? I mean, fashion.
Fashion.
Fashion out of this world.
You're right.
You're right.
My bad.
When became dressed as Slender Man, the Spurs proceeded to give the Suns a Halloween nightmare.
Let's show this Wimby play first.
Now look where he takes off from and look where the ball finishes.
Excuse me?
Boof.
That's.
Yo, they don't have a close-up on KD's face because he looked like he was just like, what the hell?
Boof.
Man, drew Eubanks on the wrong side of a ski sandwich.
The Suns led for the first 47 minutes and 58.8 seconds of the game.
Looks like they're going to cruise to a win, and then this happened.
So they were up three.
When we got the put-back dunk,
still seven seconds left.
Leeds get fouled.
Try to get it back to three.
Oh, KD.
Give me that.
Got a big body.
Kelton Johnson finished the bucket.
You blew it!
KD had a chance to go back and hit a shot, missed it.
Spurs now fall to 2-2 on the season with Booker and Bills still sidelined with injuries.
How quickly do the Suns need to get healthy before things go left?
Before things go left?
When you talk about the West last year, one game could be the difference
and fall in multiple spots in the playoffs.
It seems like home court,
as much as you can get it, Nuggets
will probably finish one, but that two,
three, four spot.
I mean, if you're
a really good team, I mean, it really
doesn't matter where you match up at because you're going to have to see
that team anyway.
You don't want to get that far behind, but this is the beginning of the season.
So, I mean, 3-0, 0-3, it's the same shit in the first week.
Yeah.
You know.
Yeah, I think they'll be fine.
I mean, they got their two wings out.
So, like I said, first 15 games, we're going to be at the tail.
We'll be all right.
Ain't no worry.
They'll be all right.
No concern whatsoever?
Nah.
I mean, even a game like that, right, it was a four-minute stretch.
You have Kevin Durant out.
Like, you take him out because y'all whooping their ass.
And by the time he get back in, they up five.
Right?
From there, it's a game now because the team got confidence like they can win this game he cold yep because they probably still have their
starters in yeah that's so it's that same stuff we always be saying you got to keep playing
like you got to keep so now becomes a battle here i mean it's easy mistake right you know they score
you should have boxed out up one you think you're about to get fouled.
And you're sitting there holding it to get fouled and get the ball taken from you.
You know?
Should have held it higher.
Not for, yeah.
That's crazy because it's usually the theory, like, go for the steal and then foul.
And the fact that, you know, he got to hold it for three seconds without them fouling.
He should have been tipping it to himself up here.
Ha-ha, you can't get it.
You play on your knees.
So as a basketball fan, how special was it to watch KD and Wimby square off for the first time?
I'm not, you know, those are the matchups I'm not really, you know, I'm more excited about, you know, Wimby versus Chet.
That's, you know, that's the, you know, it's the young that I really want to see.
The older guys, they got their own battles.
They're not paying attention to, you know, rookies.ies. Rookies are still trying to make their name. If KD go out there and give him
50, what kind of credit KD get? None. He gets none for that. I'm more excited when these
draft picks play against each other. with Charlotte, that's Brandon.
Yeah, Brandon versus, you know, Scoop.
Like, you know, the two-three.
I want to see the two twins play against each other.
You know what I mean?
Like, those, when it comes to rookies, that's what I want to see.
You know, the veterans against each other.
Yeah, like seeing KD and Bron play. I don't, you know. The veterans against each other. Yeah.
You know, like seeing KD and Bron play.
Yeah.
Yeah, like that was, yeah.
If you had a twin brother,
you are both in the league,
would y'all let each other cook each other to help beefing the stats up?
Or would you take it serious,
try to lock each other up?
Gil's going to try to kill history.
Let me shoot, I get to shoot.
Trust me.
Is it Kane and Abel or?
Listen, there's been,
there's early in my career where, you know, like, hey, you got no points,
I'm going to foul you so you can go to the free throw line.
And then, you know what I mean, you get your little two points and then I'm going to come
back and score.
There's a couple of times where we want to get on a scoreboard.
We up, hey, hey, we down 12.
No foul.
Ah, my bad.
Go and get your points.
Go and get your points. Go and get your points.
Because I'm going to come down and shoot this shit myself.
I don't need no help.
I just need to foul you real quick.
Stop this clock.
I'm not going to say I've never done it.
But if you go back and watch film, and I'm picking up full court, we down 12,
and I just randomly follow dude
The fix was it
Be the FGA
FGA got there be this is my third game with no shot at it
meet one Breaking that knives over here now. They said gills to a winner made it out the womb
What's wrong with y'all? I never really seen I
Don't know if it's me, but
I ain't never seen a dominant twin.
Like, it's like, it seems like one
taking all the power. Y'all splitting power.
Right? It's, you know what I mean?
It's like...
Like, y'all can't, you can't be
goat if you got a twin. I'm sorry.
It just seems like it just...
Are they taking too much of... Like, you know, you,
you know, like, what if I had all the jumping ability
Right now I got a 44 but I would have had a 50 if it wasn't for your way
It just always seems that it's like when you when you look at twins, it's like it's they like like right there
Mm-hmm. It's never it's never I don't know why so even like the Morris twins It's never, it's never, I don't know why.
So even like the Morris twins?
I never seen them.
The two, uh...
The high school kids?
Keith?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
It's like, what twin has, there's been like an elite twin.
Like elite, like we talking about like top ten grade, like a...
Oh.
Right?
No. I don't know one. Well, I. Right? No. I don't know one.
I don't know why.
I don't know.
I've never really studied twins.
I would just hate to be a twin.
Honestly.
Like, I don't want nobody walking the surf looking like me.
Your father and your mama look like you.
You look like your daddy, boy.
You don't want two grandkids?
No.
One is enough.
One is enough.
Y'all, why so...
I'm going to do a study on that, actually.
I just see why I knew it.
Like, I just want to see, like, why, why, like, there's not, like, a really dominant...
Oh, Dominique and Gerald Wilkins?
Would you give Dominique?
Were they twins or brothers?
Brothers.
I'm talking about twins.
I don't know.
Not enough twins.
Was Blake Griffin a twin or just a brother?
No.
Just a brother.
Just a brother.
That's a good question.
That's real.
If they combine forces, though, they could be a super.
Basically, that's what it is.
You're taking half my power.
Shit.
How about Lopez and Twins?
Yeah, they decent.
They decent.
Wait, are they twins or brothers?
Twins.
Twins.
The Lopez.
Yeah, so Brooke.
I mean, no, Brooke is up here.
I know, but I'm talking about is he a top ten?
When you're talking about dominance. He said, but I'm talking about, is he a top ten? Like, when you're talking about, like, dominance.
He said elite.
I'm talking about elite players, not just good.
I'm talking about elite, like.
Brooke is an all-star.
Like, one of them is, like, Steph or something.
Like, one of them, like, John Morant types.
Like, someone who is considered a star.
I mean, Brooke had a.
Man, I mean.
Brooke had a nice school.
I mean, coming out of high school,
Brooke Lopez was big.
There's always one that's big in high school.
And then he came to the league,
became a champion, all-star.
Like, he... I mean, he answered.
For what he...
All right, all right.
He answered what?
I mean, he's better than his twin.
Yeah.
There's always one.
It's not that hard.
It's not hard to be in that situation.
Why not?
They're both bigs, and they both play the same position.
So I'm an all-star.
I'm an NBA champion.
I did my thing in Brooklyn.
Everywhere Brooke goes, he contributes.
Like, he does his thing.
So I think he deserves to Everywhere Brooke goes, he contributes. Like, he does his thing. So, I think he deserves
to be, like, an elite.
I mean, if we're taking it
from high school on up,
I mean...
Like, if someone said
Jokic was a twin,
I'd be like, okay, here we go.
All right, that makes sense.
Right.
He made it,
the other one didn't,
or the other one's just below
or trapped, trashed.
Like, where's the one
that's just
yeah we don't have to yeah like i'm trying to figure that's what i'm saying is it when they're
training they're not really i don't know they're all doing the same thing i mean brooke and brooke
and then they all dressed the same goofy shit like that you don't even know the boy name. Robin. Robin. Brook and Robin.
Yeah, Brook and Robin.
I said Brook and Lopez.
Yeah, yeah.
You don't get a first name?
No.
Would you just play it like if you had a twin?
That's brand new, bro.
You play the first half, you could play the second half?
If I had a twin?
Yeah, just combine into one.
I'm killing my twin.
I am killing.
But I'm saying combine into one and split half.
I probably wouldn't even like my twin.
Like there's been rumors that the Morris twins have, because they got like the same
hats, but they've changed spots before, but.
There's been rumors that the Morris twins have, because they got like the same hats,
but they've changed spots before, but. there's been rumors that the Morris twins have,
because they got, like, the same stats.
They've changed spots before.
They probably do the same basketball routine,
take the same shots, play the same way.
Let's talk a little bit about Wimby.
I think Wimby's averaging about 16 and 8 this season.
Looks solid.
But don't look like he's getting the rock enough.
He'll go through long spurts where he's not really a part of the offense.
Are the Spurs guards struggling to get Wimby to rock,
and what can Pop do to get him better looks?
I mean, you know, you got a bunch of young guys that was there before him
averaging and playing, and, you know, they didn't really need him in a sense.
Right?
So, you know, you're bringing the number one pick in.
Yeah, we know he's the franchise, but we're the veterans in this case,
so he has to fit in where he gets in.
He can go in the mid-post a little bit more.
Sitting there trying to play on the perimeter with all perimeter guys
is going to be hard for him anyway.
So he's going to have to do a lot of up screens, back screens,
slashing,
being big in the middle.
You know, like, you know, understanding the game, right?
Understanding what your teammates like to do
and try to, you know, impede some of that.
And I mean, you know, number eight, you know,
when he gets to the goal, he's going to go left, right?
You set the pick and he's going that way. Cut through it.
Ah, here we go.
Here I come.
Yeah, yeah.
Start doing a bunch of that shit.
Rescreen, rescreen, rescreen.
I love how you talk about when you were in Arizona,
you would fuck up their players just so you could get some buckets.
Oh, yeah, Rich.
All strong right.
So I'm on the left side. Yeah, I'm not rich all strong, right? Yeah, so I'm on the left side
Yeah, I'm going right to that blah cut cut right through it
Cuz I was the baseline runner so I just
Yeah
If he's on the left side, I stayed right on that side. You got a pass the ball back this way. No. Yeah
I mean, I just know I just people
Will understand how hard the NBA is as
Skilled and talented as he is. He's gonna struggle. He's a rookie
Doesn't know how to play an NBA. Mm-hmm
Like the quote that he made said that people play basketball real life in life or death
Like they did like yeah people playing hard out here, bro.
Like, this is not where you come from.
And you got a target on your back.
And you got this adjustment period.
You got to be able to think and process and be there.
It's a lot.
So for him to be at 16, eight, so far, the three guys,
like, that's good for, like, don't have struggles
because this is new form.
It's all new.
It's all an adjustment.
We talked about the good side, but let's talk about the other side.
Through four games, he's averaging close to five turnovers a game.
Is that just a part of that adjustment phase?
He dribbles high.
It's all he's 7'4", man.
He's out there handling the ball and people climbing up on him
and trying to make plays, Pop's going to control it.
He's going to start putting him in different situations
and explain to him that the turnover numbers are high.
We need to put you in the mid post.
We're going to run wedge roll,
and we're going to get you the ball on the mid post
and let you face up, and I need you to shoot this bank shot.
At this point, it's like, let me see what you do. It's like one of those, this is the freest someone's ever going to play on the pop.
Just let me see what you can do.
Just go out there and just understand what this game is, understand the things that you
can do daily and understand the things you can't do.
But those turnovers are going to be down because it'll be at points where he's not like two
days ago.
When you're playing in Europe, some of those passes, you can just swing it because they're
not athletic enough to run through that.
Now you got four players that are sitting there, that look open because he under the
basket back there.
And in Europe, the court is smaller, that three-point line. So the three-point And in Europe, like, the court is smaller.
That three-point line.
So, you know, the three-point line in Europe is smaller.
It's like high school.
Oh, it is?
Okay, yeah.
Like, you know.
But I just feel like the Spurs don't, they don't really have a, like, nobody's, like, saying, oh, they're going to make the playoffs or anything like that.
I think we just want to see Wimby play all 82.
Like, just stay healthy, you know, because of his size.
So, I think next two years, three years. He'll be he'll be fine
Yeah, I just want to see him play. Yeah to Gil's point like he they got a couple of guys
That's already somewhat established within the San Antonio
schemes and all that
Fuck what everybody say they're not taking the backseat to him. No couple guys just got paid
They're not taking the backseat to him.
We understand who he is.
We get that.
But I averaged motherfucking 21 last year. Shit.
I mean, but just don't make it.
This 21 going to 23.
Fuck what y'all talking about.
Yeah, but just don't make it like a LeBron situation when LeBron got to Cleveland.
And your ass gets up out of there.
Lippy?
But see, by the time when they did that, LeBron, you can see, all right, he's ready.
He's ready to take over now.
That wasn't the case at the beginning.
He's still balling, but now it's like, all right, okay, we good.
He good. Right, the same thing. Like, once you have probably like a month,
when he went at Ricky the month,
and there's a stretch where he's averaging 27 and 11,
oh, there's going to be your players meeting.
There's going to be a play, y'all.
So we're going to, this is the way we're going to move
the rest of the season, you know.
But as of right now, he has to really earn that spot
He has to earn it and you know, once you earn your spot in the NBA man, you know players do adapt
You know for the most part players adapt, you know because players understand that you know
This is a business and we know he's the franchise and if I want to be around with him
I'm gonna have to conform conform. True. You know what I mean?
Right now, if somebody said, man, I ain't give you the motherfucking ball,
whoever said that, I don't care what he's averaging, he gone.
Absolutely.
That motherfucker averaged four point.
You averaging 20, you gone. Yeah.
And that's just how it is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
When you talk about Wim being in mistakes, I'm making this comparison.
I'm not saying these guys are the same. I look at Peyton Manning,
his rookie year in the NFL.
Still got the rookie record for
most interceptions. But how important is it
for Pop to leave Wimby out there
to make these mistakes for the long-term
success that he expects him to have?
Like, I need to see you do all this shit. I'm going to let
you do it. Because this year year we're not sure I mean shit
Like you said we just want to watch win be play. Well, you know, we have no expectations for these Spurs. It's easy to teach
Mistakes see it's easy to correct those things. It's easy to pay man is
It's easy to show him on film right now that that might seem open. To Gil's point, that's not open.
Hold on to it.
Let the window open.
He'd be open on the other side.
Now, he has to understand that.
Same thing.
No, it is.
It's the same thing as in basketball.
You got to be able to show him on the film, this play, that play. And it's a daily teaching thing.
It ain't once every couple, two, three weeks
we're going to sit down and watch film.
No, we watch the film after every game.
Before and after every game.
Whoever your film guy is, whoever you,
before and after every game.
And if he's not getting the film, then it's on the coach.
Now the coach's job is in jeopardy
because he ain't getting what he needs
in order to eliminate those mistakes.
Yeah, you have to, like, here, that's what I said,
here you have to let him play it out.
Right, he has to go out there and make the mistakes,
and day in and day out, like, all right, this month, five turnovers,
this is how you're getting your five turnovers.
Show him how he's, you know, getting them, right, you know.
Oh, jumping and passing, you know what I mean?
You sit here faking it and then you run into the guy.
Sometimes you might have to just throw that pass.
You throw that pass first couple times, this guy won't be here.
So next time you do that, this guy done hit two threes.
He's going to reach.
Now you can go get your left.
So you have to be able, they have to be able to go make the mistake so you can correct,
you can correct it. Right. Sometimes just watching film, but you not, you not in the moment. It's easy for me to say, all right, what were you thinking here? And he said, oh, I was, you know,
I came off the pick and roll and I thought he stayed and I just blindly threw it.
Well, now you know you can't do that shit. Definitely got to ask him what he was thinking.
You definitely got to ask him what he was thinking on this.
Yeah, you have to.
Let him explain to you.
And he might say the right shit.
He just wasn't.
The motherfucker just stole it.
He might tell you the exact answer that you're looking for.
It might come out of his mouth.
You never know.
But it just was a good day.
The defense made a good play, Jordan pool yeah you know when you when you
decided do all this walking back and shot that dude what was you think yeah
what was you thinking yeah what was you then now what I think he was gonna jump
yeah I was trying to make sports don't tell me I was just you know probing and
then I thought no you better tell me exactly what you did.
Because what I saw was, motherfucker, you were trying to make TV tonight.
And that brings my last question.
This is a player.
How hard is it for y'all to be honest with yourself as you're watching these films?
And do I think, you know, a lot of guys are delusional and struggling, you know, constantly passing the blame or whatever it may be.
But are you watching like I I
Fucked up here. Good. Like you're saying just just get right to the point like yeah
It was a bad pass or he stole that or and I mean human nature, you know, we always want to like
Put the blame on something else, you know
But you know when you really trying to get better once you old enough to really understand that you know
You have to be your biggest critic.
You got to be able to say, yeah, that was fucking stupid.
What I tried to do was dumb as hell.
What I was looking at, I was being selfish.
If you can't tell yourself that,
then it's going to be hard for you to really improve as a player.
There's some times where coaches will be like,
yo, how come you didn't pass him the ball?
Did you see him?
No, I seen him.
But I seen him, but the motherfucker
looked me off three times in the first quarter
and I wasn't passing him the fucking ball, coach.
That's the truth versus like,
oh, I didn't really see him over there coach like no
I seen that he didn't pass it ball first three and I was gonna shoot this shit
No matter what the plate was called, you know, sometimes you gotta be able to say that shit, you know for you to really progress
as a player
Yeah, I agree with 1000% you gotta be able to self critique man and it's
But but one thing that film don't lie.
It don't lie.
You can't run from that film.
Mm-mm, don't lie.
What you trying to tell me, whatever you tell me in that moment,
I can bring it up on film.
Like, you can't bullshit the film.
Mm-hmm.
Watching film is so funny in front of the team. Yeah, I ran back. Who that? What's your jersey number? So you got a really asshole coat. What's your jersey number again? That look like a six. Oh, that's number six on the screen, ain't it? Oh, it look like you.
Same tattoos, same.
Oh, this guy didn't run back.
But you telling me you did.
That film be funny because they be rewinding it.
They be rewinding it.
Hold on, stop it, rewind it, stop it.
It's like, yo, all right, we got it. You said you tried to take a charge, huh?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Woo!
Yeah, that's the, yeah.
And if you're not honest with yourself, man, you ain't go, yeah,
you're not going, but that's everyday.
That's not just with sport.
That's life.
If you ain't your biggest, looking at yourself in the mirror and being honest with yourself,
I do this shit, I do something like that, Ken, that was fucking stupid.
To this day.
That was dumb.
Why would Ken, same shit on the floor, like you dudes, that was stupid.
Why the fuck did you throw that? King, don't. Same shit on the floor. Like, you dudes are like, that was stupid.
Why the fuck did you throw that?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I think it's all part of the maturation process.
You know what I'm saying?
As you get older in life, you can now look back and just be real.
Like, when you're younger, there's a lot of finger pointing you on to take that blame.
But it comes to a point where it's like, I got to be honest with myself.
And then bringing that film up.
Yeah.
Hey, that's just like the, what is it, Allstate commercial when they going back and forth, the instant
replay thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Throwing the flag and life.
No, but you said you left the sunroof open on the inside of the car.
Where?
Mr. Sunroof.
No, I ain't touch the sunroof.
Let's bring it back.
Let's play it.
That was everyday life with people.
It should have been.
Oh, yeah, it'd be, yeah.
Should have been a lot better out here.
Like, what you said, well, no, I didn't.
Well, let's run it back,
because that film...
You do not lie.
Don't lie.
Don't lie.
All right, let's move on to Mostly Fans.

Hey, share the picks, bro. No, no, no.
But I ain't won a dollar.
Oh, you four for five.
Oh, my God. No insurance?
Huh? No insurance? No.
Josiah said don't do protection.
Don't like this shit.
Treat it like your regular life with the ladies.
Oh.
But that's why I need to go to the rookie symposium
and see if Sean can't put up the child support list.
I don't like this shit.
I mean, when you see, like, I ain't got no phone care.
I'm like, Josiah, I ain't got no phone care.
I ain't trying to protect that.
Just out here, just raw dogging these pics.
Bro, I got an iPhone 8.
I'm 4 for 5, 3 for 4 just raw dog these pigs bro. I got an iPhone a 453 for four four four five three four four
bruh
Bad Nick just already negative negative negative negative God damn
I'm watching the game last night. You're not cast here like two or three three threes and Ross like really Doug
I never seen you do this shit like that. I think I needed one one
Point or one rebound it was either a basket or a rebound
from
Julius Randall he don't want to play in the fourth quarter
Yeah, I told you
Now I know what I said, but I told you the game nothing and I saw you Saturday and pick them
Hey, you mad at people man. Yeah, you're gonna have you dislike some folks. I am
Mainly coaches why don't I?
Know no, no 2k
Hey when players when you got fans yelling at players. Oh
No, you've gone. I'm gonna I'm with
I get it now. I agree with the fans here
God damn it. You got one job
Fucking free throw something in the fourth quarter.
That's all we need.
Like major players.
Being professional.
Like major players.
Yeah.
You missed out on some.
Yeah, he needed one point.
I told you, I'm staying away from basketball.
Whole fourth quarter.
I told you yesterday, didn't I?
Staying away from basketball.
Don't pick nobody that got Skechers on.
If they got Skechers on, you're going to lose.
Don't pick no athlete that's wearing Skechers 80% losing
Damn Skechers, that's the word you watching those final minutes or they sub the dude out and it's like he could help you already
Like child support man. It's just negative. Yeah, and I got to protect myself. Sorry Joe. No Skechers
You got to go lower on the Skechers. I ain't got it. All right, so the first question
From underdog fantasy user Yankee next door Yankee next door. What purchase do you regret the most during your time in the league?
My purchase
What purchase I regret yeah, what's the biggest regret purchase you have all of them all of them cuz I ain't got him now
everything probably jewelry like buying chains she's like what special back at
the time yeah yeah yeah Them was reckless chains.
Yeah, and it was unnecessary.
It was unnecessary stuff.
To me, I mean, I think I've said it before.
I think just me not buying myself a house first,
not thinking about myself when I first got my check,
trying to put it back into a family that I don't really talk to anymore.
No career?
I think that's my biggest regret, not taking care of myself first.
And people thought it was selfish of me for saying that, but it's not.
It's like when I get my first, like you said, we're supposed to give it back to our family.
It's like, nah, I should have bought myself something first.
Especially in Milwaukee, I feel like those real estate-
Not even Milwaukee, but just like-
But getting a crib, or you went out crib. Yeah, just getting the crib early.
Like I was working the whole time making sure moms, everybody was good.
And it's like I should have just took that money and just made sure I was good first.
Yeah, I think dumb ass chains.
Like what's the most, if you mind sharing, that you spent on a chain?
It wasn't nothing crazy.
It's just consistent. It's just how, like where it was. Just consistently buying shit. Just? No, it wasn't nothing crazy. It's just consistent.
It just happened like where it was, huh?
Just consistently buying shit.
Just, yeah, yeah.
Boredom.
Boredom.
Like I don't know my fucking initials.
Like the world don't know my initials.
Well, why I got a KM on the fucking chain?
Just think about it.
That's real.
That's real.
I took the diamonds out of that and put it in the watch.
Yeah.
Like, fuck I got this big dumbass MKM4.
It's not the big purchases.
It's what we consider the small, the $50,000 head, the $35,000 head.
It's the consistency.
It's the consistency of that.
Somebody spending $400,000, $500,000 at one time is kind of like rare.
Yeah.
You got to be really on one.
To go buy a Richard Miller.
To go buy a 250 on a watch at the time was asinine.
Yeah, you didn't really do that.
So it's understanding this.
If we can all rewind back, which all the players now, those $35,000, $40,000, $50,000, just open up small businesses.
Yeah.
Just open up.
Absolutely.
Instead of buying that $50,000 roller,
go buy like $50,000 worth of ice cream trucks.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
For your little brother or your mom.
Absolutely.
Instead of buying you something that you're not going to need
all these Birkin bags up,
I'm going to buy you
four ice cream trucks.
You working with,
with your brother
and your cousin.
Let's see if y'all can do
that little business first,
right?
And like,
if,
think about how much
we would own,
like just,
if we just thought about
like,
like,
damn,
that strip club,
I could have had a,
I could have had a,
a,
what's the name farm?
I tried to buy the strip club. Yeah
Damn going in and I tried to buy it. They wouldn't sell it to him. I was
What's the money and good? I mean also I purchased it
I purchased this having your homies around some guys that live in your house
That's another regret having guys around having guys live in your house. That's another regret. Having guys around, having guys live in your house
that do nothing.
If you're a youngin
and you're making money in the NBA,
having guys around you
that are older
that bring no value
is a big regret.
That's where the 50,000s
and the 40,000s
and the 10,000s come from
for dinners and stuff
and can't nobody help you.
I wasn't doing nothing.
No, no, I'm just saying
like that's that,
you know, those,
whatever, trips in.
Oh, yeah. Most I spent on some jewelry. I bought a watch it was 90 about a watch for 90
But I sold it for 110
Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah, I mean, oh, yeah. No, so I told well, yeah, no you bought it. Mm-hmm And I waited a little while and I sold it back to the, he forgot how much he sold it to me for, so I told him a certain number.
I told him I bought it for like 120, 130 from him, he forgot.
So he thought I got it, I sold it back for like 110.
I should've purchased condoms.
Oh, he must be going through it right now. Yeah.
You just said, all that shit.
It's just everything.
Even when my son asked me, he's like, what would you not do if you started in the NBA
right now?
I said, I would not buy a house.
He's like like why not he said because the business of basketball
Tells you that's the worst investment
Like you go to this city live here for four or five years and you get traded or sign somewhere else now
You got to sell that house
Hopefully somebody that likes your style buys it if not you're gonna lose value on that
Then you go here you buy this house and then you might get traded go ahead
So by the time you finish with a 12, 15-year career, you've been in eight houses.
You can buy a house, but the house-
Buy a house where you live.
Where you live.
Yeah, but then it's like-
Exactly.
But I told him, I said, you know, like-
You had a house in Dallas.
Like, I thought I would have lived in Orlando or D.C. the rest of my life. So I said, like,
wherever you decide, you know, in the middle of your career where you're going to live, like when you retire, start building your dream house then.
Right?
Like, okay, when I'm done, this is when I'm going to be done.
And you start working every year on building that structure.
So when you're done, there you go.
Versus just sitting here, just like rent a condo, you know, when you get in.
Yeah, yeah.
You ain't there half the time anymore
Fuckin. Yeah, that's a fact. Are you you play 41 games?
Right you play 41 games there and 41 dollars on the road and then these doors tell my family though
Yeah, some dudes got a family. We got it when you got kids and shit early and like the situation is different
I another room next door. Yeah condo in this one is over there it's that yeah
well you buy houses where you from though I think it's that's what the
Joker's on that Joker don't have a house yeah I wouldn't I wouldn't buy one by
house yeah I mean I'm sure in this country do know what he's building this
I wouldn't buy once I once I got divorced of I sold my house and I got in
the pub penthouse I wouldn't know you down then I sold my house and I got in the pub penthouse
Yeah, once yeah once but your first purchase house was where you were from though, right like yeah, I had a house in
When I had most well
Did you buy one when you got the New Jersey first, right? I did see Jersey you always we had because what it wasn't
It was either me live in New York because it wasn't like that on the water yet
Mm-hmm edge water. I wouldn't like yeah. Yeah. Yeah
So I pretty much I had to get a house. It was small house. It wasn't nothing crazy
Covered like three bedroom three and a half. It was something what no
Extravagant shit my first and then I sold that one
You know, were you in Jersey with Marcus Williams? Mm-mm.
With Jason Kidd? No?
No, he went to Denver when Marcus came in.
Okay, okay, okay.
Yeah, no, it was...
I was about to say, yeah, I was in Jersey around that time.
Yeah, no, I wasn't.
Yeah, him and Boone was nice.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, I wasn't, uh...
Yeah, I was in...
And I remember Marcus' house was small in Jersey, too,
like you said.
Yeah, and I bought my main one.
I bought my house house in Dallas,
and I was just,
because that's why I thought I was going to be forever.
So that's part of it, but you don't, you got to be smart with it early, but regrets is...
But it's hard when you wanting.
I mean, do we really have regrets?
We still going.
Yeah. Like we still going, we have a rest? We still going. Yeah. Like, we still going.
We still on.
Like, we still going.
I mean, the rest can't really be.
I used to do shit like have Gucci send me, like, and Louis, like,
not all the time, but sometimes, but Gucci for sure, like, send me.
It'll be 12 boxes of shit in the living room on consignment.
And I pick through what I want and what I don't want.
Send it back. This is what I don't want. This is what I'm keeping. I want and what I don't want. Send it back.
That's what I don't want.
Yeah, and most of the time...
You want it all.
You're going to keep most of the shit.
Mm-hmm.
Because you want to be the only one with it,
and it's the new hot shit,
and it's that kind of shit that we was...
Suits, clothes.
Yeah, that shit.
They forced motherfuckers to dress...
Like, that's the thing. The league forced motherfuckers
to buy clothes. But you know the problem with the
clothes was this. Our
weight fluctuates so much
that
we didn't fit half the clothes any
goddamn way, right? We can wear it for
a month or two, then we done
gained weight, now we gotta...
Because it's not like we taking those clothes and then altering it.
Those big-ass clothes we have to do. Yeah, we ain't altering to yeah, we all turn it close law man I can't fit none of these pants man. Get rid of them. Let me go ahead slim them down
Then you're asking a hey then you're doing a season your ass can't fit these skinny G's no more now
You got a buy a whole bunch of new work like so you spending on the same outfits
Anybody anybody a large and extra-large just case I was getting all
my clothes made oh yeah but I didn't want to come to the game and I was
dressed like you to me yeah I just that would have bothered me if I show up to
the game and we got on the same fucking shirt. Oh, yeah We sign your fits on leaf is they put you
As big as them pants were yeah, they were small up here you know, I got away
Oh, they was fitted like they were made for me that shirt and pants
Yeah, were made like came out and took my measurements and that's what we came up with
Be real looking at this the younger generation which is wearing nowadays. That's close to coming back You know, no, I mean, I'll start out the lady showed me some I said you give me PTSD
Because I was around who's wearing that shit. I can't do it now
No, because this is nice Dolce & Gabbana sweat suit up at Nordstrom that I won't is great
But it's just too...
I was like, oh, I want that.
Like, yeah, and everybody's like, yeah, his sweat is looking at him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They're like, Gilpin's too big.
They selling this shit now.
I seen the young kid pull up.
I'm like, damn, this is what we doing now?
Yeah.
My daughter be going to school in my sweater.
Yeah, no, for real.
All baggy and like, oh. That's what they doing. Yeah, no, for real. All baggy.
That's what they're doing.
Yeah, they're trying to bring it back.
But I just can't. That early 2000 look.
It's going to be tough.
JNCO jeans coming back.
Next question is from LookAtMe59.
This is a video question.
What's up, Gibbs Arena?
Quick question.
Players without a ring.
If a player without a ring could have won one ring,
which player career would have been impacted the most?
We pretty I hope you that work appreciate you take some time off the schedule impact the most I will say
Allen Iverson Allen Iverson
Today I wins a ring. Where does that put him?
It don't matter where it puts him is what you think of him right i mean you're talking about a guy who really changed the culture of just black life
right just be just being just just iconic he was an icon right uh like one and a half braids, one and a half arms, sleeves. Like, he changed a whole generation of kids.
And him, like, having that label as a winner, just, it just, like, it just does something, you know.
Just, just, ah.
He probably liked, what, the first athlete you think that would have, that kind of gave Nike a scare when he was with Reebok?
Because everybody was wearing Reeboks.
That's for real.
Where A.I. like, you know, his impact was stupid.
Like he brung rap, like he, it was like, just basketball and rap just became a real
thing.
Right, you know it was like basketball players want to be rappers, rappers want to be basketball
players.
He was the first one to just bring it together.
Even though Shaq was rapping, the culture wasn't there.
He was the guy who really was the whole both.
He had both worlds.
He was fucking around being a logo.
I mean, dude, his popularity in China I mean it's still crazy it would
have been unbelievable he would have been the biggest winning a ring like
beating the Lakers and oh one that would have been just think who else is even in
the yeah hey I would have been top five all time just all time yeah just wondering
oh you just up that one ring what about somebody like Barkley if he was ever
get it on Mike not like a high though, I'm sure yeah
But it would have helped his I mean would have helped it
He would have been he definitely would have been on TNT talking crazy if you got that
I could be talking for me. He's did like that. That's what I said. It is but but beating Mike though would have been
It's a feather in your cap
but it would have put like the respect of the name the respect of the
Allen Iverson name would have been yeah, because now people can be like but but yeah, and that's fucked up
Yeah, yeah what you did to the game who he is and who people are and they will people use that in sport like well
well, but
Charles Buck but yeah, but yeah, Bob, I don't hear a lot of butt from A.I.
It's not a butt, but it's like you're pretending he don't.
It's there, but it's hard for people to say it because of what he did for the culture,
who he is as a person, but trust me, it's there.
Okay.
It's there.
They changed the dress code because of just him.
Right.
He got his MVP.
Think about the dress code because of him putting everybody into fashion.
They can say what they want to say,
but there was nobody talking about
fashion trying to be...
We was doing what...
Because of him, it became
we want to dress up to show
our fits off and be fashionable
and get into the fashion
side. That is the AI effect.
That's a good point. That's a good point. So AI started it. I'm rolling.
AI pull up to...
We sitting there in real books like, oh shit, they put that with that. Oh, he wearing bow
ties now? Oh, let me... Because like, for real, like, I remember who was wearing bow
ties? Bruce Bowen? Yeah. I was like, I don't want no bow ties. I want no ties like hey these bad guys cuz it was a bad guy
What the bad guy wearing? What is that is like? That's a ascot
Give me that nobody wearing a scott. So I started wearing ascots. All right
Gotta find something
