Starting point is 00:03:13 Clippers tricked an 11-point fourth-quarter lead to the Nuggets without Joker, Aaron Gordon, and Jamal Murray, so we got to talk about that because it's getting a little shaky in Clipper land. After suffering the worst loss in his career LeBron said the Lakers need to change a lot What exactly does that mean Gil? We're gonna need you to really dissect you speak fluent We know what that mid-season bus look like. And Draymond makes his return tonight

Starting point is 00:04:44 Listen, man. You really do? Y'all play too much. Pissing me off. Oh, that's... Yeah, that's why... One yard away, one... Yeah, we on here...
Starting point is 00:04:52 Pissing me off. ...my other sister away. Yeah, that's why, like, the basketball be tough for me on the pick-em, because I be like, yo, because we on here too often. Mm-hmm. And... That's the point, though, K. ...I don't get on here and start...
Starting point is 00:05:02 I don't have nobody dislike him because my son's still playing. I don't want nobody to take him out because... Yes....because you didn't get a rebound. Yes. Like, yeah, yeah. I started to dislike him, motherfucker, because you're losing me money. Yeah, absolutely. You're losing me money.
Starting point is 00:05:13 On simple shit. Absolutely. When you on the other side, when you on the other side now, like, you know, like when we players, we be like, I don't give a fuck about your parlay. Yeah, absolutely. When you are parlaying now, you be like, wait, hold on. You've been averaging eight free throws. You had one today? Come on, man. Come on, man. Stop. Yeah. And I hate taking a lower too. I never like rooting against somebody, unless it's certain quarterbacks in the NFL who you know are not going to deliver,
Starting point is 00:05:37 not going to say no names, but then they want to actually go out and produce. Nah, but as we analyze the game, we know lowersures like certain players not going to show up tonight, they not going to get this rebound. He with us. But then they go in, hey have a fucking amazing game. That's what I said. I thought I knew until it starts showing on us. All red.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Something that you said that you like when you was at home you averaged this and on the roll you. I'm going to start doing that. Hey, we got to really go into data analytics. You got to really go into this. Yeah, you got to start really. Yeah, that point. Oh, I know people hate that point five.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Come on. How did you know? How did you know it was going to stop at 25? My partner said this is like back to the future. They got the almanac. I'm saying they got the almanac. Yeah. I'm saying like- Where's Almanac? That's it.

Starting point is 00:09:18 Oh, yeah. Transition. I got to live here. I got to be on these streets. I got to be out here on these streets. I'm not trying to get ran up on My hands are very suspect The address is 19 8 4 0 Nord off place in Chatsburg, California, I believe There was a question mark in there better put that place in there. You put a way, a street, yeah, you're going to end up somebody's house. Disclaimer, we will have security there. So don't be coming with the bullshit now. We're going to have some security there. Even the work must do security check, background check, clearance. You need to bring two references.
Starting point is 00:10:03 What's in that ass? What's in that ass, bitch? What's in that ass? We're family friendly. That ain't real. You need to bring two references To the left they don't do they know it's 18 and over it is 18 and over so all you youngsters out there You got it or you know come with the fake ID my 11 year old asked me with a serious face What's my chances of winning? Eh, get the fuck in the room. You know what I'm playing? He think his mob player is really him in shooting. I like that confidence, man. You know what I'm saying? Because he's balling on mob,
Starting point is 00:10:35 on 2K, he think that shit's real. What you think my chances is? Tell him your chance. You're supposed to tell him. 8%, nigga. Zero. I got 8% chance. I'm going to tell him. 8%, nigga. Zero. I got 8% chance. Let's get into another legendary episode of Gills Arena. So, in-season tournament is back tonight, but we got to talk about an incident that happened last Friday
Starting point is 00:10:55 during the Bulls-Raptors game. So, DeMar DeRozan, a little salty. The Raptors were up late. Siakam tried to take a three to extend the score. Yeah. Rosen wasn't feeling it, let it be known. Got ejected from the game. Also took the opportunity to give Masai Ujiri some love on the way out,
Starting point is 00:11:14 former Raptor. Keeping it real. So one of the key tie breakers to advancing the IST is point differential, which means teams are supposed to win by as much as possible to help their chances of advancing and securing a higher seed so after the game DeMar offered his thoughts. I don't care about no head seed or tournament points. None of that. Just respect for the game. Throw the flip flop. Have the ball. Hold it. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Gil Starr with you. Is this a situation where the game is the game, or are DeMar's frustrations justified? This is an unwritten rule that I don't know who invented it, but it's only in basketball, where after a certain amount of points, there's this sportsmanlike conduct rule that fucking kicks in,
Starting point is 00:12:08 and it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Like, we are taught since we were little, play until the whistle blows, right? So when you think about games like this, usually the starter's not in, right? So, like, when the bench team comes in, as a coach, you want them to play like the score is 0-0. Like, play hard.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Like, go out there and play until the whistle is over. The game is over. What happened to, isn't that, that is called respect the game. Playing to your best, playing until it ain't. Right? Like, no one wants to see you hold the ball and do all this because they should have bullshot. They didn't just hold the ball at the time, out. Yeah, give it to you. No. No, I guarantee they took a shot
Starting point is 00:12:50 Fastest shit didn't run no plays somebody's trying to get a point So it's only one side of whoever's winning take your foot off the gas. Yeah. Yeah You down you know, we want to embarrass your friend your family and shit go and try to score on me Like that's not a real thing, man. But players get in these big fights about this shit, right? People getting mad about it. It's not real. I've never gave a fuck.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I've never gave a fuck. Either way. We up or we down. Something went horribly wrong. We fucking losing. Something happened. One of the two. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:21 But I was watching the Philly game earlier. They was playing somebody somebody and it was like 12 seconds and they had three possessions and they scored, scored, scored, like they just kept going. Like Philly scored, whoever they came down and scored, I think it was Indiana. Indiana came down and scored, they came back down, scored, they came back down, they scored again and B shot a three at the end and missed it. I'm like dude's crazy
Starting point is 00:13:45 Tournament turn the game. It was like really I didn't even matter like they was like that should be right Yeah, it ain't over to the fat lady saying yeah what I came up on Mm-hmm, and then if you really in like we call it battle or war right go back to the medieval times It's me against you, my squad against your squad. And like you said, if we're going to play to the end of the whistle or end of the quarter or end of the game, like, we're going to play 100%, right? The unwritten rule of unsportsmanlike conduct
Starting point is 00:14:15 only applies when you're losing. Yep. Right? When you're losing, you want a handicap. Yeah, you want somebody to respect the fact that they beat the fuck out of you. But me, I've always been taught, I'm going to put my motherfucking foot on your throat till you say
Starting point is 00:14:27 uncle That's a piggyback on your point Why the other guys should other three quarters down dribble the fucking ball out of hold it. Yeah I'm like, okay. So what makes the fourth quarter any dip like any different? It's like what makes it a different cuz it makes the fourth quarter any different? Like, what makes it any different because it's the fourth quarter? No, the first quarter, you're trying to get a shot. You're trying to get a shot at the end. Everybody's trying to get a shot at the end of each quarter.
Starting point is 00:14:54 Exactly. It's this unren... Media made it a thing. Right? Oh, that's an unclassy shot. That's unclassy. Says who? You?
Starting point is 00:15:08 Mm-hmm. Like, are you not in practice when we sit here running 21s and shit like this, and then I got put in the last minute of the game? So you think that my coach is going to respect me? I come in the last minute of the game. I'm trying to prove to him that I'm a basketball player, and I come in just walking the ball of the court Passing around because these sorry motherfuckers they they they feelings is hurt. Yeah, cuz they they feel is hurt
Starting point is 00:15:33 Are they down 30 years to come at me? Make himself look good for his coach. I gotta come down here run regular offense. I'm gonna fuck out of here Fuck you. This ain't tomorrow first time doing this shit. He did this shit when he was in Toronto, when Lance Stevenson did this shit. They was all upset. So there's something about DeMar and his outlook on the respect for the game, because if you was really like, the people who go out there to win the game know we going to win by any means. And if we up 30 and my bench come in, I want my bench to play just like we would play if we were still in there
Starting point is 00:16:09 like hey do not let up run the score up more run it up more because you know what when these leave we want them when they come back to know what we just fucking did to them we tried to run them out the fucking building every time we play y'all, we're going to try to kill y'all. So don't, what you mean class? Cinderella stories, the Cinderella stories we hear about in the scene is because of sportsmanlike conduct rule. What ends up happening is you're down 20 or you up 20, your coach takes you out, y'all sitting on the side there with the ice pack.
Starting point is 00:16:42 They got their starters in, right? Y'all in their bottle flipping whatever the dumb shit We do on the sideline. You know I mean they start making a comeback not a coach. Oh shit. We down 10 Hey get back in He pack he pack he pack You're trying to warm this shit back up to go out there these dudes got any confidence up and they run make a comeback And wind in media. oh, what an amazing comeback in the fourth quarter. Bitch! Real shit.
Starting point is 00:17:09 If we got to stay in this whole time, dude had six points. He had six when I was guarding him. Now he got 25 because he got to play against third unit. Man, get that, man. Nah, man, just listen. Just play it. It happened the other day.
Starting point is 00:17:26 The Phoenix game. He took KD and Book out. Went on a run. You know, KD and Book going to the table. Like, shit. I know them over there. Mad? So you know how we think.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Them motherfuckers, man. Was the Lakers mad last night when they got their ass pulverized? No. No. Didn't see that happen. They had to accept it. They played to the end of the whistle. Them bench players from Philly ran that fucking score up. Yeah, they're supposed to, man.
Starting point is 00:17:57 You play the game for a reason. We're rewarding losing. Right? If you're a high school coach and you beat a team by 100, you get disciplined. You get fired. You get on suspension. Not the dude who got his ass whipped by a hundred. You, for winning by a hundred, like, you're supposed to show more restraint.
Starting point is 00:18:20 That's crazy. You want my team to put the ball in the basket for him? What the fuck do you want me to do over here? So it's just this thing that we have only in basketball. It's only in basketball that we have this rule. Like if it was boxing, oh yeah, I won the, you know, it's nine rounds, I won seven. I'm going to let him win. Let me go here and let him hit on me a little bit. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Just to even it out a little bit. I can't hit you too bad, sir. Yeah, yo. I'm not going to put my hands all the way up. It's like football, too. You beat a team 63-0, right? It'd be like, well, let's let them at least kick a field goal. Never.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Like, I never seen that. I never seen that. Even football. Whoever's running, like, I'm not going to try to run the score test. I'm going to just run one yard, drop, and fall. I caught the ball. I got a foul. Oh, I got an end. I Got a fat Stop right here. Let me stop Baseball though pitchers the pitchers in baseball a shutout
Starting point is 00:19:12 Means I'm not about to go out here and fuck around just so you can get a hit you fuck up Something that's actually a step for me a fucking shutout fucking game a no-hitter. No hitter. I'm in here for a reason Don't take me out my bum under over rising about to pulverize these niggas. Oh, you know, that football shit done went the wrong way terribly. That shit, like, horrible. Like, you start stalling. You start not running the plays that you normally would call. You start running the ball every down,
Starting point is 00:19:36 and you punting that bitch next thing you know, you, hey. So, you know, I think this IST, they're basically taking some international rules, right? And, Cameron, you play in the international competition where point differential is a big deal. Same thing with soccer. The pool play and all that shit. Yeah, goal differential. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:52 So do y'all think it was a good idea or was there other ways? They've hung their hat on this being like the most important. Because it shouldn't matter whoever win the game or lose the game. Like that's what they're playing for. They're playing to win the money and lose the game. Mm-hmm. Like that's what they plan for that. I'm that they plan to win the money in the trophy, you know Like the point the point differential should matter Like like it really because you plan this is professional sports like you're not that doesn't
Starting point is 00:20:18 Yeah, it don't don't matter ultimately where does point differential does where does that matter though? And what element of business does point differential matter? All right in an end season a brand new system. We just created you're doing a point system So what is it for like what if two teams are tied two teams are tied up? Here they go The timer I think it's head-to-head then point differential right from where they hit that they play once or twice Well, the 14th they play each other once right? Yeah, cuz 14 minutes pool Yeah, so five team is a little cool for games Well, I feel the coin if you tie if you tie just flip a coin. Yeah or square up for it
Starting point is 00:20:54 I just flip it who got it Had this baby you want to be you wanted to make it like a splashy a do like we do in regular sports outside Have your best shooter, my best shooter. Yeah. Top of the key. Top of the key. Top of the key, go. You want to start bringing in elements.
Starting point is 00:21:12 There we go. People that can, because that's what we do on the street. Absolutely. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. Shoot for it. A bunch of players you've never even heard of. Coming off the bench and shit. Hey, you want to see white people? Shoot the kid? There you go. Come on, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Come on over here. Shoot this kid. Steve. There you go, Steve. Go ahead. Win this coin for us. Get the two seed for us. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Let's keep this thing moving. Got to talk about Draymond. He makes his return tonight for the Warriors' final in-season tournament game at the Kings after serving a five-game suspension for Ch for choking Rudy Gobert. Five games well worth it. My man. Green met with the media Sunday and offered his thoughts on the suspension and the quote-unquote Draymond rules. I don't compare myself to other people on myself so I never look at it in that light. I think to continue mentioning like, oh, well, what he did in the past, I've paid for those. I got suspended in game five of the finals.
Starting point is 00:22:13 So you can't keep suspending me for those actions. But in saying that, I'm also not one to admit when I'm at fault. It is what it is. I think for me, anytime there's a situation and a teammate needs you to come to their defense, I'm going to come to their defense. And that's just that, especially with someone that I've been playing with for 12 years. That's more than a teammate. That's a brother. I have to be on the court for my teammates. Our chances of winning drops dramatically if I'm not out there.
Starting point is 00:22:53 So I have to be better at being there and as one of the leaders of this group, you just gotta find different ways. And I think for me, that's the biggest lesson and all of it It's just like yeah, you got to be there for your teammate, but you have to do it differently You know the same way you would do something when I was 26. I can't do at 33 So what are your thoughts on them drink me 33? 11 dollars your takeaway from that choking in his future Love it that was your takeaway from that
Starting point is 00:23:30 To three more motherfuckers to choke out to Three more for now, so what are your thoughts on the Draymond rules weak? It's your prior offenses factor into how the league punishes Draymond moving forward We can say whatever we want. We already know your behavior is going to catch up with you. Like, no matter how you see it. Like, you know, you're... You are, what, 12-time offender? And fucking people up?
Starting point is 00:23:57 Yeah, you know what I mean? You get penalized a little bit more. That's just life. That's just life. You know what I mean? Like, you know. 12-time offender. Yeah, 12-time. That's just life. You know what I mean? Like, you know. 12 times. Yeah, 12 times.
Starting point is 00:24:07 It's unfortunate that that's just the way it is. I went through it. Yeah, no, your behavior dictates your current punishment. Your past behavior dictates your current punishment, unfortunately. Like you said, you made a valid point. You suspended me for that already. How you still add that into the equation. Like, no, I already served my punishment for that. So you can't keep... But I get... It's frustrating on his behalf, I'm sure. But he takes accountability for his actions.
Starting point is 00:24:46 So that's the first thing. But guaranteed, if somebody do something again, he'll choke their ass again. Without a doubt. And I don't doubt that one bit. Because he's standing on it, man. He's standing on protecting his guys. And if more teams have somebody like that,
Starting point is 00:25:10 which they don't. I ain't saying you got to be choking people, but you got to have somebody that's willing to. You got to have somebody that's willing to go there in order to earn the league's respect. And Golden State has had the league's respect for a long time because of him. And first and foremost, their play. First and foremost. But because of him, certain things didn't go on to Steph and to Clay and Wiggins and KD. It just didn't. Guaranteed.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Like, it just... So with him standing on that and everybody know it, moving forward. Mm-hmm. Ain't nothing but smooth sailing. Is Draymond kind of the last of a dying breed in terms of those enforcer guys, or do you see any guys coming up in the league now that'll help fill that void? Because like you said, it seems like every team needs that. I see a Stewart kid.
Starting point is 00:26:01 I ain't afraid to like— I was going to say B Stewart's a— Yeah, I think he's—yeah, his afraid to like, I think, yeah, I think he's, yeah, it's stopped, yeah, it's 12, it's stopped,
Starting point is 00:26:08 y'all. It's cut off a little bit. It's definitely, yeah, for him to do, yeah, no, I think,
Starting point is 00:26:15 but, that's, I don't, about it, I don't, I, I, he's consistent.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Draymond's consistent. Yeah. His behavior is consistent. Mm-hmm. So the punishments should be consistent. Should go along with what it is. It's like, we all grew up with that one kid in the projects that we just knew was going to be bad. Look at this badass motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:26:41 He's going to be bad. Shorty want to be a thug. Mm-hmm. Tupac made a whole song about this nigga. Shorty want to be a thug. Mm-hmm. Tupac made a whole song about this nigga. Shorty want to be a thug. So he get in there, and he started doing some shit that we like, looking at him like, look, man, there you go again. Little Jamarcus has been bad since he was two.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Mm-hmm. This ain't nothing new, so it's like, you know. So it should be. So I mean, it should be a consistent suspension. I mean, when it was like three games. Maybe two, maybe three. Three games. Like, it shouldn't be like, oh, you got seven three games.
Starting point is 00:27:10 Now we're going to bump it up to 20. Yeah. Like, nah. Like, this behavior is only worth three games. I got to keep you at the three games. But if his severity of the behavior goes up every time he does something, like if you're like, all right, you did this. You kicked a couple people.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Cool. You're a kicker. Cool. Then you start stomping on motherfuckers. It's like, okay,, you did this you kicked a couple people cool. You're a kicker. Mm-hmm cool Then you start stomping on my fuckers. It's like okay you you went from kicking to stomping And you wouldn't punch in the motherfucker you with the punch in the motherfucker you want to choke on the motherfucker now listen Hey, we don't want you to kill nobody It's kind of aggressive, too. So it's like, we got to stop it at some point.
Starting point is 00:27:48 And it's like, if you don't send him a message, like, all right, Draymond, if you can't see that this is kind of scaring people. Sister, he didn't get that message I got. He didn't get that phone call. He didn't get that phone call. And come sit with me that I got. He probably didn't sit down, but he didn't get the warning that I got. What was it? What did he tell you?
Starting point is 00:28:08 If you want to continue to be a part of this NBA, you'll change your ways. David? Absolutely. Hell yes, David. That was the message. Clear. Clear, loud and clear. What year was that? After the Tracy fight. After the McGrady
Starting point is 00:28:23 fight. It was McGrady. Yes, McGrady that was uh Whatever it was on with old for for whatever you went that year. Mm-hmm. I think it was two in that year I think it was the Corey thing and then that one Tracy's action were about 30 You gonna be hitting on the 31 points per game. You can't just put your paws on anybody. We got a whole continent over here looking for him. O2 was Mac.
Starting point is 00:28:52 That was Orlando. That was Houston or Orlando? Orlando. It was Orlando, Mac. Incredible Hawks was mine. Yeah, so it was that. And listen, David Stern saved a lot of people from getting their ass whooped, man.
Starting point is 00:29:06 I'm just being blatantly honest. He saved a lot of people, dog, from me slapping the shit out of people on that floor. A lot. I'm telling you, man. Had that conversation never happened, oh, come on, man.
Starting point is 00:29:22 You didn't have your second contract either, too, yet, huh? Nah. He was on a rookie deal doing all this. So just imagine. And then, too, I wasn't afraid of the suspension. Like them two, three games, whatever it was that was coming, I was going to take it on. Whatever it was.
Starting point is 00:29:43 It was worth it. It was cheap back then. I was gonna take it on out whatever was where it's worth it it's worth it one year I think I lost like 350 that year and how many games five six seven I don't know that's a lot that's a lot. That's a lot. Like, 350 on the rookie deal. That's a lot. That's too much. That's too much. Like, in one season, yeah, I think it was like 350. Hell, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Like, oh, that would have been way worse than Draymond's. Yeah. So, back to Draymond. He plays with a lot of passion and intensity, but it seems like he gets to push the limit with how he comes at officials before they react. Like, we see guys get texts for way lesser infractions, a stare down, whatever it may be. So does Draymond get more leeway with refs than other players in the league, and does he deserve it?
Starting point is 00:30:34 Yeah, he's earned it. Like, I mean, you know, this is usually the veteran refs, the refs who's been around and know your temperament. So they know, okay, he's going to, you know, we know we can hear when he's going to go off the top. But most of the time when Draymond goes off the top, it's... Do they give you a warning? Yeah, it's really sporadic. You know, so when he's complaining the most, that's probably not when he's going to do something. Like most of his stuff is not during complaints.
Starting point is 00:31:02 It's just, you know, he's acting in real time. So it's just like, you know met a world peace, right? You know you you know the you know the behavior so most older refs don't really penalize that it's the new ones That don't know you. Yeah, right So if he has the leeway that he has right now, he's done earned it for 12 years Yeah, like something like I said some mom be like Yep enough He's done earned it for 12 years. Yeah. Yeah, like something like I said some of them be like Yeah enough Enough I heard you
Starting point is 00:31:30 Got you then they'll walk off and But like you said to Gil's point or you get them young ones man ain't been around and trying to make a name for themselves Got that quick Wilson in that but if you give somebody like Draymond one day he didn't feel he deserved You know, he's getting another one like is it because trust I'm Me same way like if I felt like I ain't deserve that one Yeah, it's gonna be a quick shower today. Yeah. Yeah, but think about that dough like When we're complaining we know what deserves a tech. We know, okay, we're trying to get a tech.
Starting point is 00:32:11 All right, yeah, yeah, yeah. So what'd you say? What'd you say? No, no, no. What'd you say? I want the tech, but if I'm just saying, hey, man, what happened? You gave me a tech. Oh, fuck that.
Starting point is 00:32:20 And I've been talking to you this way the whole game. I've been talking to you like this all game. Now all of a sudden you, it's consistency though. Like you talk about Draymond and his consistency. I was taught when I came in the league that you got to be consistent with the rest because they're going to tilt the whistle based on how you show them you play defense, how you show them your animations and responses to calls. So if you're animated after every call and you go to them,
Starting point is 00:32:47 but you're not trying to show them up, you're trying to ask them why they did it, they'll listen to you. They'll talk to you. Hey, look, calm that shit down. You're trying to show me up. Just talk to me. But then when you get to start doing other shit
Starting point is 00:32:57 out of your character, that's when they start teeing you up. That's when they start doing the wild shit. But I think Draymond, 12 years, his animations have been consistent. His technicals have been consistent. All of his little kicks and flails and all that shit is consistent. Natural motion. That's why they let him rock. They let him rock. And I learned that watching, just like Kenyon used to be able to talk crazy and and Sheed, and KG, all them.
Starting point is 00:33:25 You'd be like, yo, how the fuck is y'all saying this to the refs? Yeah, you. Motherfucker, yo, you terrible tonight. Oh, I, babe. The fuck was the fuck? I used to say reckless shit. But I did it under the shirt.
Starting point is 00:33:38 I did it under the shirt. That's the key, just go under the shirt, you're terrible. Oh, shit. You fucking terrible tonight. Oh, you fucking, boy,'re missing a good one tonight. Only time you, unless it was a mic. When I was mic'd up, then it was good. And I'd be like, you lucky I mic'd up.
Starting point is 00:33:53 You lucky I mic'd up. They asked me to wear that thing one time in my career. Early. Yeah, yeah. Never again. Yeah, we probably not going to need him again. Not for this role. So, Kane, speaking of your 0-1-0-2 legendary season,
Starting point is 00:34:09 six flagrant fouls that led to a total of seven games of suspension, $347,000, or $347,057. Jeez. It flies, you know. Where's the $57,000? So what was it again? I mean, it was the flat you said six flagrants the ledger totals the seven gave that's That's what you do those hard-ass house. I know
Starting point is 00:34:36 That's what used to make him so feel like going in there and he be like a man listen I ain't trying to get like Yeah Hey, man, listen. I ain't trying to hit you. I'm not trying to get hit like that. I'm good. Yeah. I'm a fucking bully, man. I ain't no fucking goddamn bully, man. So Draymond may need to adjust how he plays, but according to Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., the Warriors have no plans of telling him to tone it down.
Starting point is 00:35:00 This is from an interview he did about a week and a half ago when the suspension was first announced. And I think for Draymond, he walks that line, you know, of aggressiveness. And from my standpoint, it's hard to ask him to tone it down and dull it, because you don't want, if he gets too dull, then he's not the great player that he is. So, you know, that's a challenge. Hey, Draymond, I was wondering if... Bear down. That's my teammate. He did not go to Arizona, though. I know, but it's just bear down.
Starting point is 00:35:31 That was my high school AAU teammate. You was punking him? Tell the truth, man. No. He had swag? He had NBA socks. Okay. You know, the ones on both sides. Yeah, so I was a king in school wearing NBA socks. Okay. You know, the ones on both sides. Yeah, so I was a king in school
Starting point is 00:35:48 wearing those socks. Do you agree with Dunleavy's stance on Draymond, or do you feel like at this point, even like Dray said, he can't do the same shit at 26 that he can at 33? Chief, might be time to tone it down a little bit because we actually need you out here on this court,
Starting point is 00:36:00 especially this season because we are not those warriors of old anymore. It's like telling the shooter not to shoot. You know what I mean? Hey, Steve Dash, don't pass. It's what he does. It's what he brings to the game. That's his part of the game. Steph does what he does. Klay does what he does. Draymond does what he do. Even though it don't make sense to us, it works for them. Like, it was like telling Dennis Rodman, hey, hey, don't fondle the other players.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Don't go out there feeling on booties, okay? Whatever he did to irritate the other player, that was his job. Like, yo, you got Alonzo Morden over there, Karl Malone over there. Like, what the fuck is wrong with him? Jordan's like, hey, yo, you got Alonzo Morden over there, Karl Malone over there. Like, what the fuck is wrong with him? Jordan's like, hey, hey, keep doing you.
Starting point is 00:36:48 Doing it again. Do it again. Do it again, right? He has to. He's doing what he does to make, you know, to make them successful. Am I right? Am I right?
Starting point is 00:36:57 Come on. He was the only person. He was the only person there that was slapping ass on the other team. Good job. I'm not even on your team. I'm not ass on other teeth. Good job The motion that he plays with is the reason that he is four-time champion Mm-hmm, and that aggression is the reason that he made it to the NBA So without none of that then you wouldn't have Draymond.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So it's... I think it's... It's a fine line that you have to walk when you play like that and when you play on emotion. But, nah, it's... Because the game, man, when you care and emotion. But, nah, it's... Because the game, man, when you care and you're passionate about it, it's going to come out. Like, no matter what you say to somebody, it's going to come out.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Like, if you just take another sport, like Steve Smith, the receiver, how he used to play the game. One of my favorite. People try to tell you, it's going to come out, just who you are. People try to tell you, whatever man. I hear you. I really do. Draymond hears people when they say it, but between that 94- 94 50 man like it don't all bets off
Starting point is 00:38:27 this is how this is what made me who i am this is how i got out of sacking on michigan this is how i got out of michigan state when nobody thought i was a pro so no but we talk about personality we talk about characters right in the nba that is NBA, it's lost what we came up looking at. There were characters that we consider superheroes that had personalities. There were enforcers that had their own personalities that we were like, yo, we know Anthony Mason is Anthony Mason. Larry Johnson, Charles Oakley. These are characters, right? They have personalities, right?
Starting point is 00:39:07 So Draymond, as much as I disagree with a lot of the shit that he's done, he's been consistent with his personality and the character that he plays within the NBA. And for so long, we had a characterless NBA. We didn't know. It was just bland. Nobody really had a personality except for LeBron. And LeBron ain't got the most dynamic personality, but he's in the front. And then you're like, well, where's the AIs?
Starting point is 00:39:32 Where's the Kobe's? Where's the guys that put in the commercials and they act the same way in the game? And they got the animations and all that shit. So Draymond, I commend him for being one of the characters that we consistently know he's going to give us that. It's like having that one friend. You're in the club. You can be like, you know he's going to knock somebody out if they overstep that line. Draymond is one of them niggas in the crew that's like, we're going to consistently depend on him to be the security.
Starting point is 00:39:58 And that's a different feeling in the club. When you have that friend, you feel comfortable. You used to say that about old boy. You know, the thing about the NBA is, you know, just like anything in life, you try to create a superstar. Like, you know, it's like I want this guy. He's polished. He's this and this. He might not have the aura to be your star, to be the face of the league.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Right? He might have the numbers He might not have the personality. Yep, right and that's same thing. That's Jokic that's Luka like yeah the numbers wise Yeah, they're the star but they don't have the personality like it's all like you have to be born and created Like you can't I can't give it to you. Yeah, right? Yeah, you got the number you got this and this but you're just missing The one element that makes you him he's coming though That was kawai's issue when he was the best player in the NBA was like he didn't have no personality and I well, you know
Starting point is 00:40:54 He's coming though. He's got the personality. I know they hate it. He's the one. He has the flair, the game, the charisma, the style. There's nothing they can do. Demetrius, Jamel, Morant. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Better known as Ja. Better known as Ja. This has been boring. It's like when they booted Trump from Twitter. It just got boring. Even everybody's celebrations is kind of like, that ain't real. Who really dunking on Whimpy? They giving dudes texts for barely hanging on the rim, dog.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Dude, listen, man. This shit is like... I'm saying not allowing anything. It's like they go through these phases of what they're gonna accept and what they don't accept and it's like you're trying to control emotions in sport in sports this is like when they was doing the celebrations for the nfl touchdown celebrations they try to cut that shit out then they found out the views went down because we want to see the celebrations so they opened it back up and it allows you to do celebration like I'm just the concept of it right we're at home you scored touchdown what do you think the whole team do it to the right do you think the fans is doing they celebrate they did
Starting point is 00:42:19 they're clapping and cheering and then they say well the fans don't want to see it they doing a celebration of damn selves and cheering, and then they say, well, the fans don't want to see it. Look at them! They're doing a celebration of themselves, running up and down the goddamn field on the sideline, clapping each other, doing a motherfucking wave. What the hell you think that is? The wave is a celebration for the fans. So what entices that is the player who scores. They got to celebrate for first downs.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Absolutely. Sacks. Sacks. Incomplete pass. the player who scores. They got to celebrate for first downs and for stadiums. Absolutely, yeah. Sacks. Sacks. Like, the whole, I'm just, every pass. It's like they see something and because they don't
Starting point is 00:42:53 understand it, they don't understand, like, when you take it away, what the, the effect that happens. Mm-hmm. Like, this is home court advantage.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Right? If you don't want me to celebrate on the road for the road team, cool, but at home? Man, if I celebrate for five minutes, goddammit, five minutes. Let's kick the ball. Let it go. I been in my foot the ball, I'm motherfucking...
Starting point is 00:43:14 I'm on the sideline, I'm doing it. I don't give a shit what y'all do at this point. I'm not on the field no more. That's what made Ocho Cinco so good. You know what I'm not on the field no more. That's what made Ocho Cinco so good. You know what I'm saying? Like they literally went out there to watch what he was going to do when he scored. Odell Beckham. That's what he did.
Starting point is 00:43:32 He took the reins from that. But then you look at it, it's just two players. Where's everybody else's swag at? Where's everybody else's personality at? Helmuth, shit. They scared as fuck. Shit, fucking Travis Kelce be giving it to them. He do.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Travis Kelce do be. Cincinnati Bearcat. Bearcat down? Justrap kills you be here, Cincinnati Bearcat Bearcat down, we're gonna put that out there That's what made Cam Newton man If you don't want me to celebrate keep me on the end zone Keep me on the end zone. So we talked about the dark side of dream on we got to talk about the positives Well four-time NBA champs. That was a positive That was my fault let's keep talking about the positives up four-time NBA champ gold medalist a defensive player of the year
Starting point is 00:44:22 I think eight-time all-defensive team selection, elite player, as much as people want to say, this, that, or whatever. So how will Draymond be viewed in basketball history years from now after he's done playing? As a Hall of Famer? Hall of Famer. Sucker puncher.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Who these... Oh. Who these sucker punchers? Nobody. You see, we done already forgot about it. Who did? There was no sucker punch. No, I'm a- I'm inclined to-
Starting point is 00:44:49 I'm Kevin. Somebody walk in there. I'm Kevin, I'm Kevin. Somebody walk in there. I just want to throw some shade at them. You see me coming, there ain't no sucker punch. Nah, he definitely a Hall of Famer. I ain't gonna take nothing away from him, man.
Starting point is 00:44:59 He's done what he's supposed to do. And people say, well, if he was on another team, this, that, whatever. Tough shit. That's not what happened. If he was on another team- Because if my aunt- Go not what happened cuz if he was on another team because if my go to say when they may be my uncle My auntie had addiction be my uncle Was one word people were used to describe Draymond years from now, besides Hall of Famer, which is one word because it has the fucking...
Starting point is 00:45:28 HOF. HOF. I mean, what... Champion. Damn it. Dog. Champion. Draymond, you should probably just come on the show.
Starting point is 00:45:42 No, you got to understand, like, really think about it as a superstar. Like, think about what Steph is, what Klay is, right? They're not strong enough to defend themselves, right? They wasn't strong enough. They still aren't strong enough to defend themselves. So imagine them playing without him and trying to go through the West and the championship without being bullied.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Imagine if he was on the Cavs with LeBron and he playing against Golden State. There's none of that. Look what he single-handedly did to Love. Love started having mental issues after that. He ain't been the same since. No. He ain't been the same since. Soon as Draymond heard, oh he got, he,
Starting point is 00:46:32 I got him. I got him. He weak. He missing, like you know what I mean? And that's, like he, he's the one that kept all the wolves away. So they got to do whatever the fuck they wanted to do. I say glue guy.
Starting point is 00:46:46 Glue. He's the glue. He's the glue for them. Gorilla glue. That fake shit. No, that's it. That's it. That's it. Yo, you just need one drop. Boom. Pick up a whole car.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Shut up. Pick up a center block. Damn. One drop of the glue. Shut up. I think As seen on TV, baby. Let me try this shit. It's illegal. Right, mine is Gorilla Glue. I think, yeah. Gorilla Glue, baby. Gorilla Glue, that's nice. I like that. Let's keep this thing moving. Let's get it to some hibachi time.
Starting point is 00:47:33 Hey. Unfortunate situation we had to talk about happened last night. Ooh. Oh, man. Sixers smacked the Lakers by 44. Oh, what? Thank you, thank you, thank you. A large number. How much? Politics, a large number. Jalen Hurts was there. Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts was there in the crowd.
Starting point is 00:48:00 He came through by 44 in front of Jalen Hurst. Lakers. But Embiid and Tyrese Maxey continued their early season dominance. Embiid dropped his sixth career triple-double at 30-11-11. Maxey led all scorers with 31 to go along with 8 assists. So we talked about the KD Booker duo being the best offensive duo yesterday, but just in terms of
Starting point is 00:48:22 actual duos, are Embiid and Maxey officially the best duo in the league right now at this moment in time? No? Okay, when you say... Because yesterday I said... All around. When you say all around, what does that mean?
Starting point is 00:48:39 You play NBA Jams with this current NBA. Are they the duo that you're using? No. So you can't... It's hard. NBA jams with this current NBA are they the duo that you're using no So you can't that's that you can't quit it's hard It's his preference. Are we playing two on two? Playing two on two we're playing two on two. Yeah, I'm in shows again Unlimited dribbles. Four dribbles, eight seconds, but a 25 second one. At the end of the day, if you add up KD's stats and all of the assists and the rebounds between both parties, who has the best numbers? So, let's talk about these two guys in a five-man setting in terms of looking at it. Oh, now it's a five-man setting.
Starting point is 00:49:19 That's how the game is played, Gil. Now it's a five-man setting. So, they're the best duo in a five-man setting. Got it. And what determines that? Gil's arena. No.'s a five man set. So they're the best duo in a five man set. Got it. And what determines that? Gil's arena. No. Hey, I like that. Let's determine it. Yeah. Let's determine it. Just the way they've been playing this season and smacking, you know, the people's chance by 44 points. I mean, in front of Jay. I mean, listen, guard, big man, of course, is always ideal because it's inside, listen, guard, big man, of course, is always ideal because it's inside-outside game.
Starting point is 00:49:47 But, you know, Booker's 6'6", Kevin Durant 6'11". Shit, same shit. Same shit. It is. Somebody in the chat said... I'm saving them sons. Somebody in the chat said, Darvin's scam.
Starting point is 00:49:57 I just had to point that out, but that has nothing to do with this conversation. Y'all niggas are wild. Are they talking about my purple yet? They've been on it. They gave me Barney or Prince. Nah. A lot of referees, though.
Starting point is 00:50:11 A lot of the people in chat weren't old enough to know who Prince is or the artist formerly known. This is just what it is. I'm more worried about my knees. The motherfuckers is out, boy. I know. The knees is out for a stroll today. This used to be called poor back in the day.
Starting point is 00:50:35 We got holes in the old. Mama need to sew them up. So if you're not taking a Maxi and B, what do are you taking? You still got with KD and Booker? Can you help out yourself? I'm going I'm going to champs Murray and yeah, they play well together. Yeah, there's more been off real level
Starting point is 00:51:00 Okay, that is your right and I will not question How long he been out, you know, I'm gonna be playing with them boys when he's playing and beating and Maxie This is what I wanted to talk to the Celtics fan. No, I'm saying just to do well I'm just picking the do they had a duo they got a lot. That's just like this duo. I like this do it I like my team like they thought they got a nice duo got our team. We got but they got a nice duo So go with your duo. Got our team. We got a... But they got a nice duo. Cool. So go with your duo. Go with your duo.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I'll go with Jimmy and Bam. Tatum and Brown. Tatum and Brown. Fuck it then. Fuck it then. Shit. Reverend Brown. No, Tyrese and Joel, they playing out of their mind right now.
Starting point is 00:51:38 Joel, what? Triple dub after three? After three. Unfortunate. Damn, that'd be a great thing in an all-star game your duels Duo contest that's interest. No, we ain't go shit on our one-on-one. Should we create it now? I think we got a good you're the one two on two the one they got up to a million dollars winner take off It's the one yeah. Yeah, but just like this is the name of it duos
Starting point is 00:52:03 Do you do yo do yo do yo do yo do old dunks? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But just the name of it, Duos. You know Duos? Do your Duos. You mean Duos Dunks? What the fuck is a Duos Dunk? I can't dunk. I just got to throw it in. Throw it off the backboard. So let's talk a little bit about Embiid. Last season, he averaged 33 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists.
Starting point is 00:52:18 This season, he's averaging 32 points, 11.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists. So what will it take for Embiid to repeat as MVP this season? To be honest, he has a great chance, and the reason he has a great chance is he's putting the same numbers up, but without Harden, the mindset, everyone expected him to be ninth, eighth, seventh spot. So if he stays
Starting point is 00:52:50 second, first, third, what people envision, they're like, well, he's supposed to be down here, but the fact that he's up there, this is an MVP year, and they'll give him that. This is what they did with Steve Nash, right? Sixers currently tied for second, but based on tiebreakers right over there, fourth.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Remember, if he has a better year, if he has a better season, like stat-wise for his team, he's going to be back-to-back. Right? That's what Steve Nash. Amari was out. They expected them to be horrible. They went from 62 wins to 55. They didn't think that they were going to have 55 wins. So they're like, oh, shit, he got to be horrible. They went from 62 wins to 55. Yep.
Starting point is 00:53:25 They didn't think that they were going to have 55 wins. So they're like, oh shit, he got to be MVP. That's crazy. You know, Amari's out.
Starting point is 00:53:32 You know, so that means Steve Nash. And that's what that was. Even though it was worst year as a group. So for Embiid, it was what? Fourth last year?
Starting point is 00:53:41 Mm-hmm. He goes to second this year with the same numbers. He's MVP. But this opportunity, like you were just saying about Steve, that was an opportunity. They were third last season. It was an opportunity to make history.
Starting point is 00:53:51 This is another opportunity for the league to make history. If you think about it, Joker, two-time MVP, should have won three. Joel comes in and wins. Gives Joel the opportunity now to get back-to-back. Now you got two big men that's won back to back, back to back, both Europeans, well not Europeans, but international players. That's a historic landmark for the NBA. So we're looking at it like when Joker
Starting point is 00:54:18 got the back to back MVPs, we're like, oh, they didn't give it to him because he would have been the only one to be three-time MVP since Bird, and they didn't really want that. Now there's an opportunity for Joel to get back-to-back, and we got two different players back-to-backs. I don't even know why they don't. The NBA in their history is just so weird. You don't want him to be a three-time because it would put him in the elite group of what? Two players.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Two players that are what in history? Where's Bird in history? He ain't no top ten. Nobody has him as top ten. Who has him as top ten? Me. Yeah. How did you put him in top ten?
Starting point is 00:54:59 What did you have to do to your roster? Position. No, not position. You had to put it in position I can be the opposition my position versus just name your top ten so bird is one of those guys he's not in you know top nobody's real top ten manipulation right you know your bird is it I gotta get my shit off somehow of the community of a certain community no one has I'm trying to preserve his legacy.
Starting point is 00:55:26 He beat Joe Louis to death. Preserve his legacy. So putting Joker in that doesn't change what? Because it's not like you got these guys who are three-time MVP sitting there in the GOAT debate. So what the fuck do anybody care? Real shit. Give people they stats that they deserve because at the end of the day, when it comes to, when it comes down to the end of someone's legacy,
Starting point is 00:55:48 you guys are using these, these things to judge. So, hey, I was supposed to be three-time MVP. Give me my MVP because, you know, that might get me closer. Like, you know, right now I'm eight. It might get me to damn
Starting point is 00:56:04 six. Real shit. I know it ain't going to get me to. Like, you know, right now I'm eight. It might get me to damn six. Real shit. Right? I know it ain't going to get me to one, but it's going to get me to six. I want to be six now. It might be two decades before I get back to eight versus eight to ten. When we talk accolades, yeah. Accolades matter when you talk about the debates. When they're sitting there trying to figure out who's gonna be in certain spots like the accolades count
Starting point is 00:56:25 But if you're if you're cheating the accolades Because for the most part Hoopers don't give a fuck about your accolades Care about your game. That's your game. It's how we see it how we seen it how you presented it Yeah, when we talk about the best of the best those guys are freaking natures Usually the freaking natures they're they're freak of natures. They're the ones who work the hardest and it was the way they played the game itself.
Starting point is 00:56:53 People don't understand. This is real shit. Think about the top 50. This is why legacy isn't really legacy for me. The top 50, when they did that top 50 list, right,
Starting point is 00:57:06 36 out of the 50 came from the biggest cities Hmm. It came from LA Philly New York Boston 36 of those players went through those cities in
Starting point is 00:57:27 Big times and points, or in Baltimore. Yep. Right? That's not a coincidence. Your legacy is built on where you sit. Now, the other players, they were just so great that they got into it. Had to get in. They got into it, and the best power forward of all time wasn't even in the league when they did that list.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Who was that? Tim Duncan. There you go. Other than that, you're just sitting in big city guys, you know, like LeBron. Of course, LeBron stood out, but if LeBron never came to L.A. to get some foundation here, it's kind of... But Chicago, L.A., Boston, your top fives are sitting in there.
Starting point is 00:58:15 Yeah. Your top fives are sitting in those three cities. Tim Duncan is the only top ten player that wasn't in the big city. And I think a lot of people want to put him in top power forward. Huh? Tim is your top power forward? All time?
Starting point is 00:58:33 And you said it pretty quick. And you said it with a lot of confidence. There was some bass in your voice. This is how I do this. Let's take... And this is what somebody was arguing with me about Ginobili, right? About Ginobili not being top player, right? Top six man.
Starting point is 00:58:52 And I said, the reason is this. If you take the championships away, which was team awards, right? Take your championship away, take the names off, and say, stand on your own stats, which means scoring titles, defensive stuff, rebounding stuff, assist stuff. Stand on it. Now look at his numbers. You'll be like, what the fuck is these? Like, so my, like, I want you to stand on your numbers first
Starting point is 00:59:14 before we add team success. Right. Right? Stand on your numbers first and let me see your team success. So when I do people's numbers, when I do like, who's better, Jamal Crawford or him? All right, let me see him. Okay, So when I do people's numbers when I do like who's better Jamal Crawford to him Alright, let me see him. Okay, you had Tim Duncan you had it. Okay. How did you play when Tim and
Starting point is 00:59:32 Parker was gone when you were the main guy. Mm-hmm. Oh You you averaged only 13 points. Oh shit was different then like you you you're you're in the Jordan pool Situation when Jordan pool was the third option. one was paying attention to him you averaging 20 something yep when you're the focal point and their people are putting their defense around for you oh shit is little hard it's a little difficult right and that's that's how I judge you how did you stand on your own as a player. So, Tim, Carl, Charles, KG, like, Timmy the best ever?
Starting point is 01:00:10 Based on stats? That's more... He had to guard those guys. Like, he had to guard. So, Carl Malone had more points, right? Mm-hmm. KG had more rebounds. Mm-hmm. Yes. KG had more rebounds.
Starting point is 01:00:26 Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But overall, Tim is in the conversation with both of those. Yep. And blocks. And blocks. And then you got to, I know we're not talking, but you have to, so we want to bring, so we got points, rebounds, blocks. Then we do wins last.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Yeah, so if you. So then you got the, so the team shit is last in this conversation, right? So, so yes. So if you take off the, so if you take off the wins and you take off the championships. Yeah. And they have to stand on their own. Tim is better. Tim is better.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Okay, then. In every category He stacks like car Malone won a great rebounder, right? Right and you have to take them most his points came on fucking picking roles people. So you have us and if we talking Standalone then yes, then then that answers. Yes So then it really just would end up being like kg in Tim But that's how to figure out who the best is between them two. But stats-wise, no championship.
Starting point is 01:01:28 Tim is still better. Tim is better. That's what I'm saying. So you don't need championships to say he's the best power forward of all time. Without championships, it says that. Yeah. You know, that's how you determine who is better. You take away the team accolades the team records all this
Starting point is 01:01:46 Let's say how these guys played the game who was more dominant Tim as was more dominant without any of his rings That's why I case closed that's why I said about the LeBron and KD conversation in my opinion I felt like KD is the better player but LeBron if you got the better career 100% a better legacy all of that shit but it's like as far as a player as a hoop where I'm looking like taking the championships away taking all the team shit away you know what what me and Katie used to talk about this a lot about I remember when um he had me break down top five their
Starting point is 01:02:24 strengths and weaknesses. Right now, I had him at two. He said, why am I at two? So I gave him the reasons, and then he was like, have you ever thought that, has anybody ever asked me to do any of those things? Ooh. Right, yeah, you're putting me in,
Starting point is 01:02:39 you're putting LeBron in front of me because he's rebounding and he's passing. Every team I've been on, this was my job. Yes. But if I had, if you're telling me, hey, we need you to average this, this, and this, when you see me pass, I know how to pass the ball. Yep. I rebound.
Starting point is 01:02:56 It becomes my focus. But my focus point is we need you to score. So I'm being penalized for something I wasn't asked. He's asked to do all these things, so he's in a line. Hey, that's so accurate, though, bro, because, like, for me, I was put in a position to play a certain style, come off the bench and score. Oh, you only averaged this amount of rebounds, this amount of assists.
Starting point is 01:03:17 Because my focus was getting buckets. I only was in for a certain amount of time, get buckets, so I can keep playing. That was the only way that I was going to keep playing. I'm undersized, but it's like I see other guys. It's like that makes so much sense because if he was asked to do other things, and you used to talk about this all the time, like we're smart enough as players to know how to do other things when we're asked,
Starting point is 01:03:39 like the USA Olympic thing. If I'm asked to take a back seat and play this style of way, just talk to me and tell me so I can adjust. But if you don't allow that time for me to adjust and I don't adjust, it's like,
Starting point is 01:03:51 it's because you didn't ask me. I ain't asked to do this shit in here. That's why I give Katie so much credit for not being a guy that has to go out of his way to prove that he's this and that. He just goes out
Starting point is 01:04:04 and plays his game. But like you said, if he not asked to do the things LeBron is doing, he not going to compare himself to that. He's going to be like, hey, I never had to do that shit. Which is a fair point that we don't really talk about when we look at these guys and break down their resumes and all the things. A lot of times, the team didn't ask me to do that shit, so I can do it. Who's a better player?
Starting point is 01:04:25 We have Jokic, we him bead right now. We told you and be and be the average tennis is Who becomes a better player now if he can put up tennis's with his rebounds? No, there wouldn't be no question No question, right because we know offensively he's way more gifted, right? He has the same amount of rebounds only thing that separates him as a sis But no one's telling him that he needs to pass the ball. You see how the game changes for players and how we look at them different. And, you know, Jokic gets the nod
Starting point is 01:04:57 because he's doing something that the other one isn't doing, that's passing the ball better. You know. You know what Embiid does much better than Joker? Get to the free throw line. Before that Lakers-Sixers game, Twitter legend, Lakers guru, dropped the interesting nugget.
Starting point is 01:05:14 Coming into their meeting, Embiid had 176 free throw attempts this season, which is now 188 after the game. He had 12 free throw attempts in that 44-point win. LeBron and AD have combined for 191 free throw attempts coming in that game Which is now 198? after the game so
Starting point is 01:05:31 We're gonna show one play from that game. That's stood out We could put that one up What needs to change So one particular player set off from that game was a What needs to change in order for that to happen again? Not that, not that, not that. So one particular player that stood out from that game was... And B was driving, AD... He ran into AD, AD appeared to strip the ball from him, AD was whistled for a foul. I don't know if we have it.
Starting point is 01:05:59 We got that one or not? All them damn computers we got back there. Y'all can't find a clue. He's fucking up in the bed I'm just saying any of the bed we got what L1 we got one on the computer to we got a very hard work through five six people with access to computers in his Barron live. I'm on it. I told him. If anybody in the chat want to Barron is the one who put the question about the shoes.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Security. I can't even let Barron go out like that because I'm the one who fucking asked it. I apologize to you, man. No apologies now. Don't start fucking apologizing now. I already cried you, man. Nah, ain't no apologizing now. It is. Don't start fucking apologizing now. I'm already, I already cried in the car, nigga. I already scared my seat. You already cried in the car.
Starting point is 01:06:51 I already cried. Let's keep it. So basically, so here's the play right here. And B gets the foul. AD's pissed off. After the game, and B and AD kind of joking around. AD showing him the bullshit. Hey, no, go back. Let's run it one more time, please.
Starting point is 01:07:09 So AD is stop, right? That's foul. Now, the ref that's making that call don't see that hook. He don't see that. Nope. It's this dude over on the right. Yeah, far side. So go a little bit. Right there. Now, this is what Anthony Davis is calling a foul. Right. But the ref that's calling this foul ain't seeing his hook. Yep. Right. So he's calling for whatever he sees from his angle. But Anthony Davis thinks, yo, you hooked me, which is not the foul that that ref is calling. But is Joel hooking him or is his arm caught?
Starting point is 01:07:49 His arm is caught. He caught him. Yeah, Joel grabbed him. If he catch him last, go back. Go back a little bit. No, Joel grabbed him. Back to the left. I think Joel is off balance right here.
Starting point is 01:08:00 No, this is called smart offense. Right there. Yeah. So he smart offense. Right there. Yeah. So he's putting his hand there. He's still got another step or two before he starts to go up. But think about what's his shooting hand. So what he's doing is it's the James Harden, right? I'm going.
Starting point is 01:08:18 This is my shooting hand. So you're holding me here. What I'm doing is I'm just going to hook it to pull up. So now when I'm pulling up, the ref sees your hand on top, right? Which is Which is that my picture of ad? Arm is underneath that The foul is gonna come on the contact. Yeah instead of the hook He calls they call the the the the foul is being called on the contact because he doesn't see the hook
Starting point is 01:08:44 You know the that that ref you ref you don't see the hook. Yeah, no, that ref, you ref, you don't see the hook. Yeah. So they're calling the contact still, but they don't know that the contact is caused by the hook. But the other ref would have called that hook the catch-through. And the AD, obviously. She's trying to show him, you hooked me, but that wasn't even a foul call. So Embiid is currently leading the league in free throw attempts at nearly 12 per game. His critics are calling him a generational foul merchant.
Starting point is 01:09:09 But do you have any problem with Embiid's skill for drawing fouls? No. I mean, it shouldn't have been penalized against James Harden. It shouldn't have been penalized against Trey Young. Like, I'm... To be great at foul calling or getting those fouls, you have to really understand defense. You have to really understand human behavior, right? These are the elite scores that's learning these tricks. The elite scores are doing against bad habit defenders, right? Even on the Anthony Davis.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Anthony Davis, he's getting hooked, but he's strong enough to keep that hand down so the ref, like, you didn't see Embiid get his right hand up. So he was strong enough to do this, to keep it down so the ref couldn't see it. The other ref called just the bump itself. I think the NBA is not realizing
Starting point is 01:10:03 that a great defensive player, the elite defender, don't get caught like this. Even though he's an elite defender, tricks that I can do on this guy I couldn't do on Kenyon. They're changing the rules for the mediocre defense because the elite is taking advantage of the mediocre defense. players the non-discipline players like if I can come in and get him to jump and then bump into him right and then now you're penalizing me for him just jumping he won't jump he's gonna stay down stay
Starting point is 01:10:37 down like that you can't jump like that sir your foot says you can't jump you jump off that foot not this foot. He will know that versus somebody else So, you know if Embiid is getting 12, he's getting 12 on guys who just are not disciplined You call it Anthony Davis the elite defender Elite defender in this era? No. Hey, hey. For this era.
Starting point is 01:11:08 Oh, shit. I'm just asking a question. Hey, hey, hey. This is a legit question. I'm not being funny or no shit. I mean, for this, I mean. He blocks shots. Blocks shots.
Starting point is 01:11:15 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Blocks shots. Okay, that's what I was getting at. That's what I was getting at. Great shot blocker. He is that, yes. Great defender. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Okay, okay. Thank you. Four-time All-Defense Collection. I'm just. Who? I'm, but I'm just telling you. What the players have done. Yeah, but would you consider me a great defender. All right, yeah. Okay, I'll take it. We have four-time all-defense selection. I'm just... Who? But I'll just tell you what the players have done. Yeah, but would you consider me a great defender? No.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Me. You a great defender? Would you consider me a great defender? I made zero all-defense. But we already know that was personal. Throw that fucking stat up to me. That was personal because David Stern was a hater. No, no, but...
Starting point is 01:11:39 But that's the difference. Don't throw that fucking stat up to me. And I think that's why when I look at Brooke Lopez, you got shot blockers and you got defenders. Yeah. And I think they're using shot blocking. Absolutely. It's not the fucking same thing.
Starting point is 01:11:52 So do you feel like AD is not a lead defender? I think he's a great shot blocker. I think he has great timing around the rim. Absolutely. I'm taking nothing away from him in that regard. Certain pick and rolls his way, he moves his feet well, but that's not for overall. I give him that. I wouldn't consider Rudy Gobert a fucking elite defender,
Starting point is 01:12:10 but he makes all the teams that got fucking trophies at home that say he's the best defender in the fucking league. I want to go back to the point of Joel. There are two different sides of it. There is using our tricks, and then there's using the fact that they give you calls to your advantage, right? And there's the flailing, the flopping. Joel is a big motherfucker, right? And when he falls, it's like, why did he fall, right? So if you're near him, it's almost like the advantage
Starting point is 01:12:41 like AI had or Kevin Martin had as soon as you touch him. Yeah. And the same is with him because that that falls so long So it's like he gets those calls on top of some tricks So I think it's two different scenarios that you can actually say guys use and guys don't use the smart guys Can bail can can bait you in to get you to do shit like we've seen. And then there's this times where we know if I fall near you,
Starting point is 01:13:11 they're going to give me the call. And he getting them too. So I think... He do a lot of bullshit. He do a lot of bullshit. But when he don't get the call, he looks stupid. Yeah, he looks stupid as a motherfucker at times. Like, do you too big to be doing that at times?
Starting point is 01:13:23 I be thinking that shit out. Like, do you too big to be flailing that way, man? But you go up and nobody near touched you and you flipping, sliding to the bench and shit like. Now think about it, right? Who drives the most in the NBA? Two people, LeBron James and Greek the Freak, right? Who leads in free throws now? So Embiid leading, Greek is second though. Greek to freak. Yep. Right? Who leads in free throws now?
Starting point is 01:13:46 So Embiid leading, Greek is second though. Greek is second. Yeah. What ends up happening is the stronger you play, the more they expect you to play through it. Mm-hmm. Right? So the biggest crybabies that the NBA seen is usually the strongest people that nobody they're not gonna give it to you
Starting point is 01:14:06 Like the Marcus cousins like are you talking about a guy who's sitting down there getting pounded on pause? He gonna cry the most he gonna cry the most because he's getting fouled the most. Right. Right? So the more you play through contact, the more they don't call it. They expect you like, oh, that was an easy layup. Right? Like Shaquille.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Now you're telling me Shaquille didn't supposed to average 20 free throws a game. Easily. We were purposely fouling him. Like, think about when it was hack a shack Come on ref look He's smart enough to realize that if I do play strong like Yogi's Yogi's look look how much fouls your kids gets Ah, shit. Shit. Come on, boy. Give me something. Fuck. But thank you. And y'all always do that shit. Fuck. Shit.
Starting point is 01:15:29 But if you call the first one, like, how many times? Like, because of the size, you're like, well, you can play through that. I don't want to give you the first 12, but shit. You know what I mean? And it's just one of those things where when you're a scoring skilled guy, you're just trying to manipulate. You're manipulating the rules.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Like if we said, yo, we're not going to give you those calls, now he's going to play to his strength, which now he's stronger than those guys. Now he's going to be sitting there playing bully basketball. So either way, no matter if you don't like him trying to get the foul Let him play his way Boom, yeah, we go got Debbie. Let's go now. Let's play nobody stop it here. Everything's a dunk One stopping that dude This opens up a bigger conversation though Just about the tricks that offensive players can use to generate a competitive advantage to draw fouls to get buckets
Starting point is 01:16:23 So we shot what are some of those offensive moves that you learned in the league that helped you take advantage of the defense? One specifically, I got a lot of tips early on. He's trying to give you a ball. Yeah, he's going to give me the ball. Oh, okay. I'm going to do my Kenny to Jeff. Run to the monitor.
Starting point is 01:16:39 Okay, okay. But when I went to Jordan camp, back when my UNC ties were pretty strong, it was good. It was good with them. Mike was my mans. He gave me some tips about what it was to do the fadeaway. Everybody had their own little way that they did the MJ fadeaway until MJ actually showed me, like, this is why they don't do it like I do it, because I keep the ball high when I'm turning over my left shoulder and when I did it he stripped it out my hands like see you see you think you got it and then he did it I'm like god damn I can't get
Starting point is 01:17:12 to it but then there was a there was a few other ones let's go to the board there's a few other ones that were pretty wait hold on hold on we can We can't... They got the high angle. They got the wide. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm over here looking at him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So a lot of times a guy likes to put his hand out all the time just to kind of off balance. And for me it was either hip or hip.
Starting point is 01:17:38 And if I had the ball on this hip, I would know that this guy is trying to reach in here. So I would automatically reach in and grab his arm to get him off balance. So if I come here and then I'm here, come back and you reach in, boom, I'm here. And I'm pushing him off balance. And the other one with the same stance, this one here, this leg high,'m coming here damn oh shit calf muscle a lot of guys would get called for the um the hook because they would try to hook here or they would try to hook here but me i started to learn that the lower you go the more off balance that guy would be
Starting point is 01:18:20 and the easier it would be to get past him. And your first step would always be, you know, damn. And little tricks like that could offset him having to also bump into me. So now if I go here, the only way for him to stop me would be there. So it's like the little things like that, that would give somebody like me, who is proud of myself on getting an advantage without dribbling. I didn't like to do all the dribble, dribble, dribble. I like to figure
Starting point is 01:18:50 out, triple threat, how can I get past him? One, two dribbles. Let me pull his arm. Alright, let me get here and not get an offensive foul. So a lot of those things that I see out there are without tricks and they're doing the flailing and the bop, bop, bop, but you see, you know, Joel do the thing on ad
Starting point is 01:19:07 Once in a while you see some tricks, but I know like I used to see can you do defensive tricks? But you know, I'll allow him to do that, you know his own thing But it's like we all got our things where we get an event I mean you've talked about a lot of those things being able to turn body or put I Try to teach it to the young kids, but they're not receptive. Yeah, no, like he's saying, like, I just, like, studying footwork, studying ball placement, just, for me, just not letting guys get comfortable if I'm guarding them. Like, I'm not going to leave my hand out there for guys.
Starting point is 01:19:38 Like, if I was playing against Jay, I'm just not going to. Like, you're going to have to be pretty fucking quick to get me to. Because I'm just not going. You're going to have to be pretty fucking quick to get me to, because I'm playing. It's just you're going to have to be pretty quick in order to go into your shot to get me to leave my hand. I'm just not leaving my hand in place. I'm not putting my foot where you think it might go. I'm going to crowd people. I'm not going to, like, he likes to get space for his footwork, right?
Starting point is 01:20:03 I'm not going to back up. Right. Mm-hmm That jab step shit. He jab. I take a step closer. Yep I'm gonna meet Joe strength with like whatever it calls for the moment then that's what and I'm gonna know he'd like to go right I'm gonna step up and I'm gonna shut that off. I'm gonna force you to go left Yeah, force me to do something different force you to do something as soon as you get ready to put the ball down to your weekend I'm gonna shut that off. I'm gonna force you to go left. Yep. Force me to do something different. I'm gonna force you to do something different. As soon as you get ready to put the ball down to your weak hand, I'm gonna reach and just... Those are the best defenders to switch it up every time.
Starting point is 01:20:31 Yeah, every single time. I'm not gonna give you the exact same look every single time. Yep. But all great offensive players study that. They study guys' tendencies. I didn't have tendencies playing defense. Other than me stripping. Other than me trying to get the ball but that was my like you knew the tendency that I had all the way he's reaching for it yeah that's how I used to do that like he gonna that's one thing people do
Starting point is 01:21:00 he gonna try to strip you so you you to have to protect this ball one way or another. And to get to your shot, you're not going to have your traditional motion to get to your shot. I'm going to make you go, if you normally go here, you're going to have to motherfucking go here. If you normally go here, you're going to have to go, I'm going to make you do something different. I'm going to make you turn,
Starting point is 01:21:20 I'm going to make you pivot off, your weak pivot, like if you strong left pivot, well, today I'm going to see what that right pivot weak pill if you strong left pivot Well today, I'm gonna see what they're right pivot like You're gonna turn your back Might get that and that's why I like what that's what made Kobe so great Am I like Gardner men guys like that? He like no matter what I tried it was he had a counter for it Mm-hmm. I showed a Jordan Clarkson and Garland a trick I used to use.
Starting point is 01:21:51 No, not that one. You had another one? Was this not on the video? Yeah, it wasn't on the video. I used a ball as a spacer. So I told him, like, when I'm driving, say, you're coming to help, what I'll do is like most guys cuffed ball Right. I use the ball as a spacer. So if I'm driving and I see you coming I'll give you the ball because people natural habits is ball
Starting point is 01:22:18 So they reach for so what I'll do is I'll come and I'll jam the ball in your stomach to slow down your momentum to Push me back. So so I used to use the ball. So if I'm coming at King and I'm like, oh shit He gonna jump I'll push it in King's chest make them back up a little bit now I can go up so that was a little trick like it like you have to practice in years No for sure, you know when I was little I used to do you know hit the person with the ball Now became a thing. Like, wait, hold on. So when I'm coming and I'm getting ready to absorb this energy, I'll use the ball as the blocker.
Starting point is 01:22:50 Boom. What it makes people do is they always try to grab at it. Now when I pull out, you got my arm. That's how I got a lot of fouls. People didn't understand it. So they were trying to, I was like, yeah, when y'all trying to do the year rolls, use the ball. Right? Use it here.
Starting point is 01:23:03 Just you come in, he's coming. Boom. Stop him with it. They're not going to call an offensive euros use the ball right use it here just you come in he's coming boom stop him with it they're not gonna call offense you know foul on the ball well you would have been held with that same foot same hand same foot shit but you would have been held and then but that's what and i've said yo y'all have y'all and that's what i said yo y'all got moves that i didn't have then now you use my tricks with these moves. And that's when Garland was like, he's sitting here trying to boom. And he was like, oh shit.
Starting point is 01:23:29 And I was like, look. And if you could keep a whole grip on there, And I was like, I said, think about it. Like when the defensive guy is coming over and you're talking about the big man, cause now big men get to jump straight up. I said, big men get to jump straight up, jump into they stomach.
Starting point is 01:23:43 That's what you used to do, that shit all the time. You could jump straight up, hit them in their stomach. Oh, shit. Right? Automatic foul. It's little tricks, but you still got to understand the player themselves, too. All right. So we talked about the Sixers.
Starting point is 01:23:57 Now we got to talk about the team that didn't score as much as them on Monday night in that particular matchup. LeBron was naturally frustrated after the Lakers got 44-pieced. The number comes after 43 and before 45. He got instigator. Which is the largest loss in his career and the fourth largest in Lakers history. So Bron has some interesting comments about the current state of the Lakers. Wouldn't need to change the note if not to happen again? A lot. Is there anything in particular?
Starting point is 01:24:33 Not a lot. How should a team react to this kind of game? Do you just totally flush it, disregard it, move on? Or do you just let it stew and use it as motivation? I don't know how a team I can only speak for myself I don't like it You said to Dan
Starting point is 01:24:57 you said a lot needs to change. Is there anything specific you feel like needs to change? I said a lot You said Woody in particular, I said a lot. You said a Woody in particular. I said a lot. So, Gil, you are fluent in brownies. What do you think the brown was really saying? Get the fuck out of my face, man.
Starting point is 01:25:15 We just got beat by 44. What you ask me all these stupid-ass questions for that you know? What does a lot mean? A lot means a lot. Like? A lot a lot? Like D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Like D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves.
Starting point is 01:25:30 Ice Trey is whoo. Hey. D'Lo is fine. Hey. But we already know, like, when was the last time LeBron ain't trade in the middle of the season? You know what I mean? What we saw was not what I finished with, God there, but I can tell you that for sure he knows how to pivot very well They see the pivoting. Do you see him pivoting now? Yeah, he's starting to pivot
Starting point is 01:25:55 You know, I mean listen frustrations frustration and you know, just like anything he understands that you know Sometimes you got to cut dead weight. he's not gonna and for years he's if i can see the dead weight and it's just hanging on for no reason cut it give me some new ropes some new people some new some new teammates let's go ahead and get the second half of the season what's the dead weight though you just got your ass kicked by 44 tell me how you feel oh like the fuck man like we just got our ass drug what the fuck you expect me to say out here oh you know what things are fucking peachy around this bitch like i'm happy as it fucking comes you guys what do you think would you like a glass of
Starting point is 01:26:37 lobos like come on man like come on man this man, he's a competitor. He see what he got. The media see it. Y'all been asking the same fucking question. Y'all been insinuating we need to make changes all this fucking time. Now we get our ass kicked. Now it's fueled that y'all think y'all have to add to this fire, and y'all want me to feed into it. So we think it's just more game-related?
Starting point is 01:27:00 No, it's frustration overall, but this shit was embarrassing. I mean, Lakers are in a much better position this year than they were last year. Right. But probably still not in the position that LeBron wants to be in a year 21, just coming off of his museum opening at Akron. I'm trying to go out and win a ring in my last couple of seasons. So let's talk about the y'all man, Anthony Davis, for a second. Y'all man?
Starting point is 01:27:23 Yeah, it's his fucking man. They man. It's they man. Yeah. Y'all niggas. The guy second. Y'all man? Yeah, it's his fucking man. They man. It's their man. Yeah. Y'all niggas. There's a guy in the fucking purple. I rock with it. There's a guy in the fucking purple, and then you.
Starting point is 01:27:31 And you. You got no name. Old school J. You got no name. Fucking colors in your shoes. You. Yeah, you. Old school Laker colors in your shoes.
Starting point is 01:27:38 Yeah, this is good. Absolutely. Shout out to Adidas Basketball. Yeah. Shout out to my crew at Adidas Basketball for blessing me. That's why I was wearing the check all these episodes I wanted some free shit that's it so the jokes on you chat Yes, go my game. Yeah What's up with him?
Starting point is 01:27:54 Huh? I know what you think it was cold in Philly He's consistent So therefore but it's getting better this season He's consistent. Yeah, he's consistent. He is consistent. So, therefore, but. It's getting better this season. But, no, so let's take it in a competitor standpoint. You got this man going dead at you on the other side, and you take 14 shots. You take 14. Before they took you out.
Starting point is 01:28:21 Before they took you out of the game, before that shit got embarrassing, you took 14 shots, and you got this man going dead at your rack for three quarters. Talk about it. And you take 14 shots and you supposed to be the man on this team? Talk about it. I'm just saying. And this is why media, if you never played basketball sometimes, you got to shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 01:28:44 Because you don't understand locker room behavior. You want him to be the man, but you don't understand what we watching. You got somebody throwing haymakers at you, and we watching. He over here coming at you. Hey, he's sweet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:59 Come on, throw the ball. Throw the ball, Maxie. Throw the ball, Maxie. He's sweet down here. He's sweet down here. He's sweet down here. We sitting here like, yo. I can't get you. Yo, I don't need the ball right now.
Starting point is 01:29:10 You better call for the joint. You better, hey, you better be like, hey, ah, ah, ah. Whatever he call, ah. Pam, settle down. Sit down. Bring it back down. Park it. Park it over there.
Starting point is 01:29:21 For you to be considered the dude, that's how you win these keys. Situations like this, we don't give a fuck if you... We don't care if you went one for 30. Bron, turn four. Turn five. Bron, turn five.
Starting point is 01:29:40 This motherfucker going at me, dog. Come this way, Bron. Guess what? I'm going to talk the coach out. Whatever'm this way Brian and guess what I'm gonna talk to coach out Whatever you call the timeout you can run this first when he called He calls some else a bring it down here down here whatever play we got this bitch catch me on the elbow Bring it right. I'm not gonna take it is the problem that ad is a for being forced to play the five One at a time, hopefully. Security.
Starting point is 01:30:08 Security. Does that not matter? Hopefully he put his basketball shorts on one at a time. He's not as big as those dudes. But that's the problem. When you're talking about respect and gain it in the locker room. There's only two guys in the league that he should be worried about physically. Yes.
Starting point is 01:30:25 Two. He played one last night. But still, it don't matter, dog. Three. You physically, you put on weight, you size, height-wise, skill-wise. Skill-wise, you just as skilled as Joel Embiid. But the difference is there's 14 shots dog. Even if you went 14 for 14 it still didn't look right.
Starting point is 01:30:58 And you shot 50 and you made half the shot that you took. You settled for 14. You made half the shot that you took. To you good game Yeah to your teammates. No you ain't even step up for this challenge You could have been seven for 20s what you saying if you said before say how much did Joe shoot? Yeah, what it listen we're gonna go bucket bucket for bucket you stop you and be shooting 15 shots 30 on 15, but look. But it's high.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Look. But 12 free throws. But I'm saying. 12 free throws. 12 free throws. In three quarters. So probably closer without them, you know, the 20, 22 shots. Like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:34 Yeah, so, yeah. AD only shot five free throws, so. And what I'm saying is, look at my 60 point, what Kobe was doing on the other side, right? Steve Nash. Look what he had that game. Like, we battled. Like, I'm coming at you. You come at...
Starting point is 01:31:49 Like, I know what you're bringing. You're on a 16-game winning streak. Right? Y'all the hottest thing moving. I'm coming at your throat because I know you come in. Damn, that just sounded bad. No.
Starting point is 01:32:00 Like, you come... Girl, you just kept riding with that one. It wouldn't have been a big deal. I can't be associated. I wouldn't have been Like I'm Neutralizing you like you you're standing tall and I'm on this side I got to do the same thing right if not like my this group is looking at me like yo You ain't stand up to you ain't standing up to the old boy.
Starting point is 01:32:28 Like when people say, yo, that 60 point is what you stand on. Fuck the 60 point. That was accident. That was the end of the game. I didn't really have no, it wasn't an all green light game. I had 27 free throws. My game was the
Starting point is 01:32:43 next game when Kobe came. Right? When he said, yo, when I come to town, we're going to see what's happening. Yeah. People say, well, y'all lost by 20. It wasn't about no fucking winning or losing. This man said he's coming to stop me. Yep.
Starting point is 01:32:58 I don't care about how many shots I was at. That was a one-on-one game. Yep. Challenge. As soon as he... Bam. Challenge accepted. He scored 37.
Starting point is 01:33:09 I scored 39. I was probably seven for 30. It didn't matter. He's telling y'all he's coming to kill me. Am I going to step up to the challenge? Right. I lost the game. I won the war in the respect of the assassin
Starting point is 01:33:24 that was coming in that building They don't like are you gonna back down? Hey, you I'm shutting you down and I'm like, oh, yeah You you did it tonight. No these grenades is going good luck I mean, but ad is one thing to say ad is not gonna step up to the challenge, but I Still feel like if LeBron is on the court LeBron is on the court... LeBron James! You got to do more, baby. You got to do more.
Starting point is 01:33:53 LeBron got to do more. You can't keep coming in the locker room like I did all I could do. Nah, you got to do some more. LeBron, you saw the top of his head. He's 137 years old. I get it, I get it, but if you... 25, 7, and 6 at 38 years old. I need 35, 10, and 11, man. So why you can't expect that from Anthony Davis?
Starting point is 01:34:12 I can, but I'm just saying it's not happening. So for LeBron... So why do you expect a 38-year-old guy... Because he's still out there and he can do it. A 32? He can do it and he's still out there. This man will be 39 years old in a month. I know, but he can do it.
Starting point is 01:34:24 That's the point. He can do it, so why not still out there. This man will be 39 years old in a month. I know, but he can do it. That's the point. He can do it, so why not do it? AD's not doing it. LeBron can do it. He's just not doing it because he wants AD to do it. So you're saying he can't do it. So you ain't saying AD can't do it. Yeah, he can do it.
Starting point is 01:34:37 He's just not doing it. But then he can't do it. I don't think he can do it. You don't think he can do it? He can't do it. Who? Anthony Davis. Really?
Starting point is 01:34:42 I mean, I've watched pretty much every Laker game this season. We've seen some good games with 30 pieces. But several times, second half, he might have a great first half and literally disappear. I can't depend on him, though. Give me the rock. Team can't depend on him in two ways. Yeah. And if he's on the floor at his games, you can't fucking depend on him.
Starting point is 01:35:01 And you can't depend on him because he might not be on the floor. Right. That's crazy. That's like crazy say that again Can't depend on if you own the floor some game you damn sure can't depend on with the office because he's here. Oh, yes so to that point Like we've been saying they gotta get somebody else dog got mm-hmm. They got it They got... It's not a ask. It's not a hypothetical that we're coming up with because we love...
Starting point is 01:35:30 Well, y'all love the Lakers. But this is real shit. Me watching basketball and watching the games and the teams around the league and LeBron's legacy, what it is now, and...
Starting point is 01:35:43 No, they need help. Bad. Bad. That part. LeBron's legacy what it is now and now they need help It bad That part it's it's it's like people like we played the game right you come into the game and coach called play and Why are we gonna throw it down to the you know five man four man see what he got for us today? Yeah that part We think about We're gonna throw my bone early to see what he got today to give it to us. I throw it in the candy man Throw it in the camera. Throw it in the camera. Let we got get to a couple times. We play defense Think about that the first we can determine if you gonna be
Starting point is 01:36:30 If you gonna be here the whole game from the first minute we we're gonna throw down Yeah, he coming play today Think about that as a teammate if your teammates the fact that you cannot score The fact that you cannot score in the fourth quarter doesn't say shit about you. It says shit about your teammates. That means they sense something. How you start off, you miss one or two shots. They already know you checked out, so they checked out. It's going to be a long night.
Starting point is 01:36:55 Ain't no way my teammates know Gil ain't scoring in the second half. But what if you're cooking, though? Because Eddie will cook in the first half, and later you watch that third quarter like, all right, come on, do somethingD. will cook in the first half, and later you watch that third quarter like, all right, come on, do something. So that means that the mentality, though. They know in the third quarter, he must have did something in the third quarter.
Starting point is 01:37:12 He missed two shots, or his body language says he's done. And they mention, say, all right, we're moving on without him. So the question is, when the third quarter starts, do they go to him, and then he's missing? Or is it that they don't go to him and he disappears? We don't, whatever it is. Man, listen. When you're supposed to be elite,
Starting point is 01:37:30 like he's getting paid and he's an elite player in the NBA. Yes or no? Yes. Why do a coach have to run shit for you or have to tell you to be aggressive to go hunt offensive rebound or go hunt your shot when you that Like just I understand you're not the point guard, but you got a relationship with this guy
Starting point is 01:37:50 To have personal conversations behind closed doors Like do I got you? Hmm call shit for me Throw me the ball. Hmm. I got you What That ain't no Darwin ham,. Darvin Hamm can call whatever the fuck he want to. LeBron James got the ball in his hand. D-Lo got the ball in his hand. D-Lo got the ball in his hand. Austin Reeves got the ball in his hand. So I'm telling you, listen dawg, I ain't saying it goes said this way, hey man, if I'm fucking open you don't throw me the ball
Starting point is 01:38:23 dawg, we got the ball. It's us who got a problem for sure. I fucking open you don't throw me the ball Oh, it's us. We've got a problem for sure. I'm open you want throw me the fuck ball. We got a problem, bro And there's ain't no way going if you only way you should have more shots than me in this bitch if you fucking hot hot Real shit hot hot hot that Heat checks not the red that blue fire So speaking of that ad's played in 17 of the 18 Lakers game this season. Only missed one game this season, but has only attempted 20 or more shots three times. That's a problem. That's a problem. And you guys want LeBron to give him the keys, and he don't want them shits.
Starting point is 01:38:56 So that's why I'm saying LeBron, you see, every time you drop the keys, he let them shits hit the floor. Stop giving him the fucking keys until you retire, my nigga. You cannot take no games off depending on Anthony Davis to do anything good for you. He came physically, like, we're not saying he came physically, but there's no,
Starting point is 01:39:15 if you're trying to win at the end of the season, you physically can't have LeBron do everything. 38-year-old man about to be 39 playing this type of ball. When the rest of the superstars in the NBA at this age, your Hall of Famers, your GOATs, was bullshit at this age. Right?
Starting point is 01:39:35 So we're going to treat you. So what LeBron doing right now is GOAT shit at his age. And we're going to keep that said. But if I drop the keys like I'm dropping them for a reason I'm not even dropping them no I'm playing drop give me to you like but what I'm saying is he pulled that motherfucker up to the front door left the fucking door open with the bitch running mm-hmm but and lemon daddy got in that bitch he tried to crash this motherfucker. Oh, this shit is a stick. This shit is a stick.
Starting point is 01:40:07 I can learn. I'm not a driver, I'm a stick. Now think about the defensive side. You remember when him and Dwight almost got into the fight? It was about a defensive rotation. Defensive rotation, right? You was late and you fouled and put him in the penalty when I'm telling you get there early So you can get mad about that, but you can't get mad and give me the motherfucking ball
Starting point is 01:40:34 Lemon daddy come on man. Let me daddy We run a pick and roll and you don't throw this bitch back to me, bruh? Locker room time. Fuck what they paying you? Mm-hmm. Nigga, you fourth op... I'm telling you right now. I'm just... I'm option one. Brendan, he was option five.
Starting point is 01:40:56 But he was... He scored four baskets in a row, and he said, yo, pass the ball down here, and I said, get that shit off the glass. I Got a knock on my door after that game Yo Yo, this be would also man. Hey, yeah, we need to talk about what
Starting point is 01:41:21 Yeah, no, no, no, we just need to talk like man, you know when you said get it off the glass Oh hell no, you think you're We just need to talk like men, you know, when you said, get it off the glass. Oh, hell no. You think you're about to whoop my ass in here? Security? God damn right, boy. I'm about to call security for real, man. I'm about to call downstairs.
Starting point is 01:41:37 What's wrong with you? I put the lock on it. Action. Click, click, click. Click on it. You're about to whoop my ass. I know you was having a good game, but not over get it off the glass. The fuck you mean get it off the glass, Gilbert?
Starting point is 01:41:49 That's what I'm saying. But it's something I always say. But even him, he was feeling hot that day. He was having a good quarter. Yeah, give him the quarter. Give him the ball. Give him the ball down the head. Like, you are Anthony Davis, bro.
Starting point is 01:42:04 You should have that mentality. Ain't nobody supposed to shoot the ball. There's only one person on that team that can out-ring shoot. That's LeBron James. Other than that, there's supposed to be fear in everybody's eyes. Whatever side you run on, they should be looking down. Looking down, hey, here you go, Anthony Davis. You don't got nobody on your team that's going to sit there. Looking down. Hey, here you go, Anthony Davis. You don't got nobody on your team that's going to sit there and do that.
Starting point is 01:42:28 No, no. But obviously, they're doing that in that second half. For you to score zero in today's game. Zero. Skillset. Athletic. Not a free throw. Nah, no. Never.
Starting point is 01:42:48 Torrin Prince and them out there shooting that bitch. Looking down like... I'll be that. I'll be looking at it. What the fuck are y'all doing in there? Ain't no damn... Move around, my nigga. Y'all better park it. Y'all better park it over there.
Starting point is 01:42:59 Park it. Like, I'll be looking at these shots like, nine, nine threes. How? Who are you? Who gave you what green light? Is that Darvin's fault? I don't give a fuck who's fault it is.
Starting point is 01:43:10 No, I'm asking. No, that's the player's fault. Because if Darvin say, look, we going into big fella. We going into the big fella. Cam, listen. If Cam shoot two threes back to back, we supposed to go into big fella. Big fella don't say nothing to Cam. Darvin got to say something to Cam.
Starting point is 01:43:25 No. No. No. Who's saying something to Cam? Hey, we watch film. Who's saying something to Cam? In the game. Not the film. Anthony Davis.
Starting point is 01:43:31 That's what I'm saying. If Ed don't say nothing. Then that's it. It got to be Darvin to say something. No, Darvin, no. You don't have no, you have, listen, man, that coach don't have no authority between them lines. The only thing he can do is sub and sub out.
Starting point is 01:43:44 You right. It's understanding between the players. Yeah, understand between the players. Because we thing he can do is sub and sub out. You right. It's understanding between the players. Yeah, understand between the players. Because we watching film and this bitch, I might not say nothing
Starting point is 01:43:50 that day if I'm Anthony Davis because I don't want this shit to look bad or what's on TV but best goddamn believe we watching film at some point
Starting point is 01:44:00 whether it's five clips or 50 clips. We watching film at some point on this game we just had. We got another one coming up, and we going to be in the room together at some goddamn point,
Starting point is 01:44:10 and I'm just going to let it be known. Hey, bruh, I'm going to go to the film guy. Hey, I need you to put them five clips that we was in the game together, and we going to... I'm going to go to the coach. Hey, I got something to say. Dude, you're a leader.
Starting point is 01:44:23 You're supposed to be a leader in here. You're supposed to be the guy. wanted so therefore you have the authority and the ability To speak up about Me trying to do more to help us win. It's not coming from a like I just want more fucking shots Right, like no if I do more we have a better chance of winning so I'm gonna step up to the plate be like listen this is what it should be and if these five a dog dealer a we ran this 77 and you didn't throw it back and I was wild hey you see this seen it don't let this shit happen again man and that's the problem he don't he He don't have one of us on the court.
Starting point is 01:45:06 No. No. He just smacked somebody basically. No, no, no. He needed an enforcer. He needs somebody to enforce getting involved. If Mello got it going and we had somebody come down and took it. Hey, listen, dog.
Starting point is 01:45:20 What did you do, Quinn? What the hell wrong with you, man? He hot. No. It's Mello. What the fuck wrong? you, man? He hot. No. It's mellow. What the fuck wrong? Anybody got it? J.R. got it going. Chanz, whoever got it going. I wish somebody would've
Starting point is 01:45:32 came down and shot the next one. Man, for real. Yo, hey. Either I'm gonna tell him. Hey, man, get him the fuck out. Or, y'all don't do that again, my nigga. At the time out. Straight up. Respectfully. At the time out. At the time out. Straight up.
Starting point is 01:45:45 What you talking about? Respectfully. At the time out. Let me holler at you real quick, though. Hey, man, don't do that again, dog. Hey, man, you, come on. Don't act like you don't know what you just did, man. And we hoopers, so we know.
Starting point is 01:45:54 Oh, no. Yeah, we all know. Don't act like you don't know what you just did, dog. We know. We know. You know you did it. Come on, man. Is that an unwritten rule?
Starting point is 01:46:00 What? If somebody cooking, you got to, hey. Man, if it's. Feed, yes. Feed. You supposed to. The nigga's cooking. He cookies cooking. No, but what you would have but okay. I'm setting screens And I'm helping a jerk scoring quest Quran Butler's playing right funny. This man was funny he's
Starting point is 01:46:19 He's full of ease He started off like wasn't anybody made the last four shots. So he took seven straight shots Seven straight right made the last four Antonio Daniels came down and shot the ball right ball hit the rim boom went out of bounds the timeout He came to the bench. Hey, man, we need to pass ball around. This is corrupt we need to pass ball around this is corrupt We need to pass ball Antonio Daniels first shot He said I'm four for seven I shot seven of them. Uh-huh. I shot the last eight, and he said,
Starting point is 01:47:07 yeah, man, y'all out here acting so... I'm four for seven right now, man. Four for seven. That's good for seven. That man was... Like, let's say you're playing... You know, buddy ball happens, and then, you know. So you got Nick Young, Dre. Nick Young, Dre, Dominic McGuire.
Starting point is 01:47:20 Like... So he went down two times without touching the ball. Like, didn't physically touch it. Come on. Yeah. All right, they passed it. Give it back, give him a the ball like didn't physically tell my yeah Right, they pass it give it back give him go he touch it twice. Amen pass the goddamn ball like I'm 21 He didn't even let the ball go down three like not even a third time without him touching it Pass me the ball like I'm 21.
Starting point is 01:47:45 Yeah. Real shit. Hey. Like, that's what, when you see that, they was like, wait, what are you out there doing? What are you saying to them? You ain't saying nothing. They can sit here and go down like you not that player,
Starting point is 01:47:56 but some guys are quiet. Is it respect? Is it a respect? Yeah. Because that's another thing. Like, when you respect a nigga you with, he ain't even got to say shit because you respect it. Like, we all respect a ticket. Enough know that but if he had to say some shit He was gonna cuss somebody out
Starting point is 01:48:11 No, but that goes back to it It's respect but it is you you being you right if you allow someone to do something long enough it becomes Nature remember we said when Russell, this is Bill and Russell, when Russell got traded to Washington, he came in on the scrimmage. They're going up and down. He said he just got
Starting point is 01:48:36 to the team. He didn't say hi to nobody yet. He just got there watching. He said they went up seven times and Bill didn't touch the ball. He said, hey, hold on, y'all. Hold on. Give me the ball. Hey, man. Who is this? Bradley bill right let the team score this best player right then how the hell did he go seven possessions without touching the ball at all? And pick up and in in building if he said no no no he's supposed to get the ball seven times and y'all wait in the corner for him to pass you the ball and Bill was like I
Starting point is 01:49:09 like this Y'all supposed to be looking for bill all seven times And he like there's just certain players that understands that but bill is nice You're not gonna say nothing right you you got to be able to speak up for yourselves because everybody start getting they own thought patterns so the Lakers don't got no respect for ad but yeah we're not saying we are merely a show got a cut nobody out he ain't got to cuss nobody out but now and throw that be like hey hey listen hey and that was open dog he should be getting 22 to 25 at least 20 shots been aggressive should be getting 22 to 25. At least 20 shots. Being aggressive. He should be playing like Embiid.
Starting point is 01:49:49 He should be primary, get the ball to AD, and then everything goes. Offensively. LeBron's going to do what LeBron does, but Anthony Davis should be the primary option in half-court offense trying to get his shit going. Is he the primary option right now? So LeBron's still primary? No.
Starting point is 01:50:07 We don't know who the primary is. No, LeBron ain't primary. LeBron's just playing basketball. He's going out of necessity. Yeah, fast break, catch it, go real fast, backdoor, a little iso here and there. He ain't sitting there coming down, doing it, running. No.
Starting point is 01:50:22 They playing offense. They don't got no offensive identity right now. No. So let's talk about another team with no offensive identity. They're having a mid-off in Los Angeles right now between the Lakers and Clippers. Nuggets didn't have Joker. You said a mid-off? They're having a mid-off.
Starting point is 01:50:38 Mid, baby. Nuggets didn't have, I almost said Nuggets. That's what my son do. The Nuggets didn't have. Shit, my father. Shout out Jimmy Jackson to Ledger. How was it? Me. It was me.
Starting point is 01:50:51 Cash. Shout. Right there. Yeah, my cat. Everything me. Everything me. Nuggets didn't have Joker, Aaron Gordon, or Jamal Murray against the Clippers. We're playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
Starting point is 01:51:04 But they did have Reggie Jackson and DeAndre Jordan and they both put in work on their former team So Jackson dropped. Okay. Yeah here stretching for this Jackson dropped 35 points at 13 this issue 79% from the field first player to record 30 plus points 10 13 assists, shooting 79% from the field. First player to record 30 plus points, 10 plus assists, 5 plus rebounds, a 75% field goal percentage in the game this season. DeAndre Jordan dropped 21 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, looking like a store brand, re-Vitilago version
Starting point is 01:51:36 of Joker. Okay, Reg. Okay, Reg. So heading into the game, Clippers won 4 of their last 5. Clippers won 4 of their last 5 heading into the game, but two have won four of their last five. Clippers have won four of their last five heading into the game, but two of those wins were against the Spurs. One was against the Rockets.
Starting point is 01:51:50 They actually beat the Mavs the other night. That was intriguing. Hey, what did Andre Jordan have again? 21. 21, 13, and a 5. 13 and a 5. Okay. Hmm.
Starting point is 01:52:00 Huh? Okay. AD. Okay. Okay. NBA? Okay. Oh, okay. NBA. You see what happens when there's a big man on the court? A small ball don't...
Starting point is 01:52:14 A small ball don't stand a fucking chance. You let a guy who... Last year he didn't play much. This year he ain't been playing much. Who needs a guy out there? Oh! Mouse in the house! What? Old DJ stats. Old DJ stats.
Starting point is 01:52:31 What? He played like old DJ. I know, he's like, I want to play against the Clippers every game. Every, oh. Every game. You ain't know what happened? Every game. You ain't know what happened?
Starting point is 01:52:40 Oh, Reg and DJ told Mike, we want this game. We want this game. This game. Hey, we need y'all to sit down. Hey, Aaron, y'all need to take this little break. We got this. Don't even trip. Don't even trip.
Starting point is 01:52:55 Don't even trip. Don't even trip. It looked like they had a revenge. That was their revenge game. That should let the fans know what type of talent sits on benches. But that and Jim Jackson said something during the course of the game. He was like, the professional team in white showed up and played. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:53:16 Not that clip, Steve. I was waiting for it, too. No, but he's definitely tired of watching them niggas play. The niggas are tired of watching them niggas play. He's definitely tired of watching them niggas play. Tired of watching them niggas play. He's definitely tired of watching them niggas play. But, no, it's, yeah, no, the professional basketball team in the Denver Nuggets, key word in that is team, been together, got young guys they've been bringing up, still got DJ a vet, Reggie a vet, still got key pieces that you can throw out there that's going to compete.
Starting point is 01:53:51 And Caldwell Pope, professional, Reggie, professional, DJ, professional. Porter, still got pieces when them other guys not playing, but they're still being held accountable by DJ. Absolutely. Other guys not out there. So we're going to show up and compete, and we're going to play these motherfuckers. Fuck they got these guys. So we got just enough. We're the champs.
Starting point is 01:54:07 Yeah. But remember what I said? Remember what I was saying last year? Yo, they playing against the YMCA team. Yeah. The players on the bench would start for Miami. That's how bad Miami was. People just didn't think what I was saying made sense.
Starting point is 01:54:23 I'm like, yo, if Reggie Jackson was on Miami, he's starting. 100%. If DJ's on Miami, he's starting. You're going to put Bam at the floor. He's going to be starting in front of Love. That's the type of talent that they have that you got guys on the bench. If Joker goes down, they going to get 21-13. What did Reggie have?
Starting point is 01:54:43 35-13. 35 and 13 and they don't play they don't play more than 15 minutes when the starters are there yeah so I've already been out last 11 game Reggie Jackson filled him he's averaging like 16 5 assists and 3 rebounds but playing solid gonna look at the assists for the game total total please look at the assists for the game. Total. Total? Please look at the assists. Do do do do do. Oh yeah for sure, I appreciate you. Uh, hold on. My wi-fi is janky. I clicked the link. Yes. It's lazy. Who on the wi-fi? I'm saying Reggie almost had more than the Clippers as a team. 28 for the Nuggets. 28 for the Clippers... 18 for the Clippers. Clippers had 18.
Starting point is 01:55:25 This is Reggie had 13. He outplayed them. Paul George, six points, three turnovers. Kawhi had 31 on 26 shots. Paul George had what?
Starting point is 01:55:33 Six. Six points. Two for 13. Can't have that. Two for 13? Okay. You can't have no single digits, man.
Starting point is 01:55:38 What else? How about James? Kawhi had 31 on 26 shots. James had subpar performance. Over 20? Huh? No, he had 13. Yeah, 13. had? 36 shots. James had subpar performance. Over 20? Huh?
Starting point is 01:55:47 No, he had 13. Yeah, 13. 11 or 13? It was 11? 11 points. 11. That's not subpar. That's trash.
Starting point is 01:55:55 That's trash. That's fucked. Seven shots, two rebounds, four assists. Yeah, that's horrible. Three turnouts. Like, what do you mean? Like, that's what I'm saying. Like, come on, man.
Starting point is 01:56:03 They don't. What you put the team together for? Like, y'all niggas going to come out and play like that? What offense? What? Like, yo, that's what I'm saying. Like, come on, man. They don't. What you put the team together for? Like, y'all niggas going to come out here and play like that? What offense? Like, yo, as soon as I got James Harden, whatever we learned in training camp is out the window. Right? It's out the window. I'm going to start showing some taste.
Starting point is 01:56:16 Like, look, I got four of y'all, right? Between the four of y'all, can y'all score 90 points? Because y'all my whole fucking team Y'all my whole team the bench. Well, I think the bitch can give you 15. Hey, yo, hey fuckers y'all can y'all give it to you Right. All right. So y'all go right here. I need 90 points Which means go go go like I just go I mean 90 points from you for We if I can if I can drill that in their head that They should be smart enough to understand this type of style that I need to be played on the court 90 points from you fold they gonna get you 15
Starting point is 01:56:56 But what style is that though move go move catch catch and go run go cut one shoot And they wouldn't have a jump don't jump dunk Boom. Y'all have 20 something for 30 something says Every night, okay. What do you think about that situation? First I mean just what the Clippers look like right now and with the offensive struggles nice I said it before I thought their assist numbers will go down as a team like it just it's what it is like they they They have guys who need the ball and it's a rhythm thing for them guys. So your assist numbers go down.
Starting point is 01:57:33 Just what it is. Taking nothing away from each individual guy's skill set. They're still Hall of Famer, they're still great players, but they need their own team or it's too much. So Clippers scored over 118 points in every game before Harden got there. Since he's got there they've done that one time. The ball stopper
Starting point is 01:57:55 It's three ball stoppers. Three ball stoppers and one that can actually play without the ball and he'd like to facilitate but I don't consider Russ a ball stopper. Because he's one willing passer. He's got one willing passer, dog. 118 for three of you, which is perfect. Four of you is lower?
Starting point is 01:58:19 Y'all should be 128, 125. That's what y'all should be aiming for. But that's what I'm saying. I seen it coming. Like, yo, I need the ball in Russ's hand because he pushes that shit. James, can you shoot the ball less than three dribbles? Get it up. I don't, like, your 15 shots, your 16 shots with two to three dribbles doesn't change our offense.
Starting point is 01:58:45 You want to take 10 dribbles, 12 dribbles, 15 dribbles, it fucks us up a little bit. Yeah, it does. Right? I need you to two dribbles, three dribbles max, get the shot up. Right? From there, I don't lose anything. That should be already calculated as a coach. I think we need to watch something and talk about when in the shot clock
Starting point is 01:59:06 are they starting their offense. Each possession, when James is in the game. When James is in the game, when are they starting their offense? 12, 13. Versus when Russ is on the floor when they're starting their offense. That matters because James is trying
Starting point is 01:59:22 to get to the pick and roll. He ain't got his swing. It took a wide guy now. It's three seconds on the shot clock nice. Yeah Wasted dribbles wait. Yeah, so now it can't be that More possessions then we shooting the ball with with from 24 to 16. Yeah Like if you're not shooting the ball before 15 seconds shot clock with that team to your point You're doing every we doing ourselves a disservice out here Because there's not enough possess for each one of us if we plan slower for us to be effective And how we need to play and are we getting second chance points?
Starting point is 01:59:56 Are we getting are we taking bad shots like in the course of what you just explained of that whole offensive? Situation is like alright. What kind of shots are we taking out of the pick and roll? How much time are we taking off the shot clock by the time? What kind of pick and roll with the – Yeah, but that's just – Like I said, you should be trying to average 30 points a quarter with that group. If I'm the coach, 30 points a quarter. You got to figure out what offense you're going to run, though.
Starting point is 02:00:22 Because it's like if you do freelance, it's like, all right, let's play pick up. That's ball stop. Pick up. It's one of those, you know, we ever play a game. Dude shoot the ball fast. That fucking Rico shit, then they shooting for them. Trust me. Trust me.
Starting point is 02:00:37 They shoot that ball a lot faster. Because Rico and them starting that motherfucking shot. Nine, eight, seven, six. As soon as you cross half a point, nigga, they. Get off of the ball. That's what. Yeah. I'm gonna start a motherfucking shotgun Get off of the ball. Yeah get off of it sir. So this is it okay Yeah, so nice forcing God's speed your clock up, yeah Put the clock on the issue with the Wi-Fi right now. We are trying to get
Starting point is 02:01:07 that shit adjusted. I see everybody in the chat bitching and complaining. We working on it. This is a black show. What, we buffering? We buffering? A little buffering.
Starting point is 02:01:16 We got the Wi-Fi. How it look on your phone? It look fine? Yeah, his Wi-Fi fine. My Wi-Fi fine. Look fine on your phone? Yeah, my shit coming through too, so. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:01:26 Yeah. Yeah, no, but it's just, man, it's to like I've been saying, like we've been saying, man, it's accountability. It's guys adjusting. We've all looked at those guys as smart basketball players. I've never been on a team with none of them, but I'm pretty sure they've been looked at
Starting point is 02:01:47 as smart basketball players. And if they can't adjust and make the changes now, then that might come into question. Yeah. Because we're expecting these guys to look in the mirror and to jail and to make this shit work because we asked, well, some people might have asked for this.
Starting point is 02:02:09 Now we have to look in the mirror and one guy did it. Yes, he did. Looked in the mirror like, how can I help us? Yep. The one who shouldn't have. The one who shouldn't have but we, because he's a team guy. He's proven I do what I
Starting point is 02:02:24 can to help my team win whether it's going after triple double whether it's come up i do what i can to put us in the best situation night in night out to give us a chance to win in this situation he did the exact same thing so what are the other three guys gonna do in this situation in order to match his unselfishness and him tucking his ego. And what can... I know Paul George. If you scoring six on this super team, super duper team, and you go get on your motherfucking podcast
Starting point is 02:02:54 and everything's all hoky dory, I need you to take a week off or something, my nigga. I need you to get your shit back. You said this is bully season. Let's bully some motherfuckers, man. Y'all are under 500 right now, man. That's not a good look. It's not a good look to be, you know, I'm on my bully shit, Iers. Man, y'all are under 500 right now. Man, that's not a good look. It's not a good look to be, you know, I'm on my bully
Starting point is 02:03:07 shit. I'm on this. I'm on that. And it's like, you come out here and you get your ass clapped up, strapped up. Well, I think Pete been playing consistent. He definitely, I mean, but it's like I think he been playing consistent. It's the whole thing of how Denver beat them the first time.
Starting point is 02:03:24 When they had Lou, remember, this is the. When they had Lou Williams and Trans over there, you got four guys who average at 19 and above. If you as the opponent can slow them down, right, that means you put less food on the table for them. Slow them down, put them in the half court. They're going to start looking at their numbers. They're going to eat each other. Oh, damn, I only got eight shots.
Starting point is 02:03:49 You start doing that shit. Sharks in the womb, baby. Yeah, for sure. As a team, you should know that. As a coach, like, yo, hey, listen, listen. We have too many offensive players to be slowed down. We're all Bugattis. We look horrible if we're playing through motherfucking L.A. traffic.
Starting point is 02:04:10 Right? We need to be playing like it is four in the morning. Ain't nobody on the highway. That's how we should be running down this freeway. If you want to go in motherfucking freeway at 5 p.m. or come into this Laker game, there's Clippers and it's traffic and now these but God he's don't mean shit Right that that should be a How you play?
Starting point is 02:04:32 Out there and then do that. I don't want y'all dribbling doing all that. I want more shooting in dribbling Yeah, if I start counting, I mean we took a thousand dribbles today Ninety shots, but don't think000 dribbles today. 90 shots. But don't that change? Something wrong with us. Don't that change their game? Give me 1,000 shots. It has to.
Starting point is 02:04:51 Don't it change their overall personal game? It should. That's what I'm saying. So they haven't practiced. They haven't trained for that. We practice that shit. We train for that. We practice that shit every summer.
Starting point is 02:05:01 So back to the point I just made about IQ, right? You should be able to adjust. Now it comes, if they not, if they don't do it and they can't do it, now it comes down to IQ. Now we got to judge them basically. Now we start to look at them different if they don't change. Right. Because we hold them here in that. Yep.
Starting point is 02:05:18 Skill set, all this is here. So now if they don't do it, it comes down to that. Man, that's crazy because it's like, it ain't that it's pressure on them to do it. It's obvious. It's like, bro, we all know just to adjust your game, bro. Two dribbles, ooh. But it's still an offensive setting. If you take Golden State's offense, give it to them, different game. Different game. Right? If you get... So look at KD over there. Right? They don't have those problems. Movement.
Starting point is 02:05:47 They got everything. Because they can catch and shoot. Yeah. Shoot. Get to the one-two spot. You don't got no guys that are trying to make sports in there. You're right. Right?
Starting point is 02:05:54 That's why I said the adjustment was James. If you want to average the 20, it's easy to average the 20. Just take away 10 seconds of your dribbling. There you go. 10 seconds of your dribbling gives There you go. 10 seconds of your dribbling gives you more shots. It's just math. It's just math and time. If I'm used to dribbling when I'm by myself, I'm used to dribbling 1,000 dribbles, 600
Starting point is 02:06:15 dribbles a game. If I can jump that down to 200 dribbles, think of how many more shot attempts I get. I'm touching the ball the same, just not dribbling as much. I'm not sitting there, boom, boom, boom many more shot attempts I get. Yeah. I'm touching the ball the same, just not dribbling as much. I'm not sitting there, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. You're more efficient. Like, I'm not going to think about it. When you walk the ball up, that's one, two, three. If you cross half.
Starting point is 02:06:36 If I'm rushing the ball up, that's less dribbles. That's two. Right? Them fives is two. One, two. You done dribbled five dribbles done scored versus one who? Yeah, and T and to get you honest and get that motherfucking rebound and he for dribbles and he's a dunking it Yeah for dribbling he dunking that bitch on the other end does he run like a bat out of hell?
Starting point is 02:06:59 Four dribbles with a shot fourbbles, you ain't even past the baseline to the free throw line. That's correct. On the other side. Right? You see, I still get your four dribbles in the shot, four dribbles you ain't... It's math, man. Easy math. Yeah, it's tough, man.
Starting point is 02:07:15 And you... Like I said, I was doing radio, and I didn't know that shit was a stat until they came to me and told me during trying when The the Houston series when they tricked it off at home the 26 miss straight miss threes that series games Like deferred like the thing was like game two James and CP had dribbled that bitch like 400 and sometimes a piece a people and and clay and Steph It was like two something like it wasn't even close like Steph was like two something and clay it wasn't even a ball grain and like it was like Steph and KD Steph and KD wasn't even a ball it wasn't even close they had doubled them with dribbles and that just told me everything like that tells you everything they 400 at first two games they
Starting point is 02:08:00 had 400 and something a piece I'm like that's tough to watch and something apiece. I'm like, that's tough to watch. And then now, as I'm watching the game, I'm fucking starting counting the motherfuckers as he bringing the ball up the floor. Like, one, two, three. Then he get in half court. I'm at like 16. Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing.
Starting point is 02:08:21 Then it's that. When he come out with the pick and roll, it's ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom. People don't understand. That's seven right there. Bing Bing Bing Bing Bing Bing Bing, then it's that when you come out the pick and roll is the boom boom boom boom boom Come on the pick and roll that's another sound in them All because you started like the faster you get the ball up the court. That's less dribble Yeah, I'm like, yeah, I can get the I can take three shots before you technically get down I don't took three shots shots in those dribbles. Let's say it was 16 dribbles, right?
Starting point is 02:08:50 I done took three shots, only 16 dribbles. You took 16 dribbles before you got to half court sometimes. If no other stat in sport, in our sport, tells you that you don't need to fucking dribble the ball to score, 11 and 61. If y'all don't know what that means, Klay Thompson took 11 dribbles and scored fucking 60 points. With Kevin Durant and Curry on the court.
Starting point is 02:09:21 11. 11. Not while they was off the court. While they were on the court. 11 dribbles on 61. So let's not... Layman's terms. Go back for a second to like what Westbrook really brought to the table
Starting point is 02:09:36 when you talk about get the ball out fast, running fast. I always believed that point guards were taught this. Get the ball out fast. Look for your shot first. Right? See if you can probe. See if you can come out. Get that layup.
Starting point is 02:09:50 Get to the line. But then if you don't got it, pull it out, run the offense. Get the ball up the court fast. We got 18 seconds compared to you just dribbling up, running offense. We got 14 seconds. That's a big time difference. So if you don't got your point guard,
Starting point is 02:10:04 you don't insert a Terrence Mann in who's not a point guard he don't know those rules he don't know what it is to get the ball up the court look for my own shot i can go one on four i'm where i'm russell westbrook you don't got that until second quarter now no come onus Claeser scored 41 points against the Utah Jazz because Anthony Carter was getting that motherfucking ball out. AC Monday. One, maybe two dribbles. Yes. And LK running up the fucking left wing.
Starting point is 02:10:34 So. 41. Yes. He one dribble, pull up. One, two, lay up. One dribble, pull up. One, two. Yes.
Starting point is 02:10:40 41. Because AC was getting that bitch out. Oh, shit. He up there. One, whoa, whoa. Shout out to AC, bro. He used to say, go shot. I.C. was getting that bitch out. Oh, shit, he up there. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Shout out to A.C., bro. He used to say, go shot, I'm going to throw you that bitch. A.C., so the faster you play, the more possessions,
Starting point is 02:10:52 the more opportunities you have to score the ball is what we're saying, people. If y'all don't like it, that's just what it is. That's what it is. And that's all it is. It's not saying that, you know, they, that's why I said no one needs to come off the bench, right? Not at all. It's just you have to understand who you
Starting point is 02:11:08 guys are, what you guys need to do to be successful, and being successful, putting ball in the basket, right? This is how you do it. You guys, as a group, are taking a thousand dribbles. Jump that bitch to 400. Think about how many shots you done took.
Starting point is 02:11:23 There's only, there's 600 less dribbles by you guys So people ain't never been on like movie sets and other shit like that. They motherfuckers around that bitch. Let's go people time is money We got like I should be trying to score to like this is she like we got to get this shit going We're on time crunch here. Like that's what that's the way they should be fucking playing like we got an hour day Yeah, we got a fucking production. We're to cut this 18 hours into motherfucking 13. Let's get going, guys. Come on now. Do they turn into players that are trying to get them each other open?
Starting point is 02:11:52 Like, who? We look at the offensive formats. There's Zubac trying to get everybody open, right? So if he not in as the center, who's getting who open? Are these guys all standing on the wing? Like, who going to screen for me? Who going to screen for me? T.O. No, your point on here fucking no screen. Let me ask you this If James Harden drive middle and he got an advantage on what does the defense gonna do class they gonna react right?
Starting point is 02:12:15 if Kawhi driving him up with the Paul dry with Throw the ball he kept you Fuck if I told you that No, fuck it. If I throw you that bitch, nigga, shoot it. Right. The problem is they're trying to... If you ain't got it, one dribble... Drive it, kid.
Starting point is 02:12:29 If you... I throw it... If James drive, he throw it to Paul. Paul ain't got the shot. He drive it. Same shit, he throw it to... No. They gonna...
Starting point is 02:12:38 Everybody gonna react because they afraid of them. Yeah. Defenses have been geared to stop each one of them individually. You put the motherfuckers on the floor at once, we should be fucking terrified to have to guard that. We should be terrified as a defense.
Starting point is 02:12:56 Pick your poison. Pick your poison. You have some of the best passers, shooters, athleticism on that team. How many fucking back doors have you seen? How many back doors? Come on, bro.
Starting point is 02:13:09 How many dunks have you seen? How many lobs have you seen? How many front cuts? None. They trade the only motherfucker that can do it. Yep. Oh, let me stop. Like, like, like, like, like, Luol Deng was good for a reason.
Starting point is 02:13:46 He never stood still. Oh, man. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, hey, when you're closing out, he's moving. Back door. He's moving. Like, he don't catch the ball like this. He's on the go. So while you're trying to close out the end, he's gone. Right? There's guys that, like. That fucking Corey Maggette cut. Corey Maggette. That Corey Maggette cut. Pass.
Starting point is 02:13:57 Come on real hard right now. Man, foul every time. They don't have that. Why? Like, none of y'all back door. None of y'all cutting. none of y'all slashing. Like, y'all should be in this motherfucker. Moving, getting easy back.
Starting point is 02:14:10 All y'all bastards want to be here. Backdoor, step back, jumper. And that's the funny part. The reason y'all not getting nothing easy is because all y'all want to shoot a jumper at the end. All y'all want the jumper at the end. Ah, ah, ah. Sidestep. Which all matters. Ah, ah, ah. Side step. Which all matters.
Starting point is 02:14:26 All right. Like, I mean, that's cool if you want every play to look like that, but where's the easy back? There's a reason Maxie is scoring 30. Move. Because he's just going. Everyone's so used to guarding something that wants to sit here and play this way. He's like, all right, I'm just going straight.
Starting point is 02:14:50 Float you. Yep. Treyy young y'all hate him there's an easy way there's a reason he keeps scoring 20 it's easy just go straight down they mad at fox hey right away right away hey this nba is easy the fuck that there's a reason. Run by y'all. Yeah. Think about the guys who's averaging 30. All the guards who are averaging 30. The only one who really plays with the ball would be Luka. Yep.
Starting point is 02:15:15 For the most part. Other than that, everybody just, yeah, I'm just going to get my bucket. They look at us like the old school guys are so critical and they mad. It's like we watch the game from the essence of the game. The essence of the game where we learn how to play ball without. Man, move without the ball. Play with your teammates, man. Screen down, pin down, stay wide.
Starting point is 02:15:39 All the shit that we see that we know that will work in this game that we watch. They don't have have like you said the iq of it to be like yo let's switch it up we've seen the iso ball y'all had your own team can y'all play together without the ball can you play without the ball you're not the superstar on this team because y'all all superstars it's super team. So where is the super team offense? That's what I want to know. What's that? The problem was the statement. I'm not a system player.
Starting point is 02:16:18 There it is. There it is. I'm a system. Made sense, didn't it? To everybody else. Everybody else thought that shit was poppin'. Oh, that was clever. That was clever of James.
Starting point is 02:16:33 That's a bar. It wasn't Houston. It was a bar. That was Houston. I was a system there. Absolutely. Like a great basketball player adjusts. I went to Arizona. I
Starting point is 02:16:45 was a dominant, I was a dominant guard, right? Arizona, there's four All-Americans on my team. There was no offense ran from, there was no offense ran from me. I let the team in scoring because I just backdoor cut, curl. Hey, hey, get out of the way. All right. Hey. Get out of the way. Hey. Gil, come on. Hey. I'm open. That's all to do it. As soon as I seen Luke walk, when I seen Luke walk and get the ball, if Jokic, anytime Jokic got the ball,
Starting point is 02:17:16 I'm cutting somewhere. Because I know he's looking for that. I know he's, y'all know James Harden is do-do-do, and he's going to pass. Paul George, you should never be sitting there like this. Backdoor, your man is sitting there looking. Backdoor him, front cut him. He's going to pass.
Starting point is 02:17:30 If I know Lonzo Ball throws the ball up, and he likes to run on the right side, 90% of my runs is going to be on the right side. I know if Kerry Kittles do this right here when I'm shooting, Kerry Kittles is getting ready to jump. I might not even shoot it right. I'm shooting to try to get back because he's gone. He ain't
Starting point is 02:17:55 gone. So I might just, oh, just hurry up and run back. Fuck this shot. Because that's what ends up happening. And I'm shooting. I'm sitting here doing one of these. Layup. Yeah, you're admiring your shit shooting I'm sitting here doing one of these looking at layup yeah yeah you might even if you're winning don't matter you're doing one he's ready all his rep he has a layup down there because he doesn't win and gone windy NBA 2k tricks like dude like hey be part of. Like, I don't need to do this to score. Offensive rebound,
Starting point is 02:18:27 cutting back doors, slashing. That's what they need to do. Yeah. We got some good news to report. Wi-Fi is back operational. We knew some of y'all was out there hating, trying to cut the Wi-Fi,
Starting point is 02:18:36 trying to fuck the show up, but we keep it pushing. Shout out to everybody in the chat who was hating. I am not a fucking IT guy. I do not know about Wi-Fi. I merely sit on this couch and host. I had nothing to do with it. But I appreciate y'all hate. Now let's get on to Mostly fans. Mostly! Let's do it. So we got some video questions. Who is, oh,
Starting point is 02:18:59 this is from Tyrea TV. First video question. What's up, though? T.Y. Ray TV. Gil. T.Y. Ray. Questions. T.Y. Ray TV. You thinking you can get Rob Parker on the show and to Underdog Fantasy?
Starting point is 02:19:14 Y'all got no love for the 313? We're working on it. Rob Parker. Yeah, Rob Parker and Chris Bouchard. They're coming on? I've been trying to get them. You know, we haven't really, you know, got our timing together. But, you know, they want to talk that Detroit Pistons stuff.
Starting point is 02:19:37 But those are great guys. And, you know, like we talk behind the scenes a lot. You know, just, you know, especially with Chris helping, you know, educate me on just being, you know, a great, you know, reporter of the sport. So no more because then we start season one with some. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I took a jab at the 80s and they took a jab and I had to hit him with another jab. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 02:19:59 You know, but that's what is. But that's that's the beauty of, you know, sports where it's not personal. We're just relaying information to you. Yeah, absolutely. You should never fight somebody over a basketball tag. Y'all want to go back and forth. All that shit is good, but you're trying to pull it off. Man, so many motherfuckers want to square up with me, though. Why don't you want to square up with me, though?
Starting point is 02:20:19 You got this? Yeah. I'll just be talking about all the talk. I'll be trolling most of the time. I don't give a fuck about it. A lot of people were mad. You can talking about all the talking. I be trolling most of the time. I don't give a fuck about the TV. So, you know, a lot of people were mad. You know, you can just look at the chat. A lot of people were disappointed in their projecting.
Starting point is 02:20:30 So you just take those projections, wait for the direct deposit to hit. The LeBron fans and the Pop fans, they be on. Hey, Pop, yeah. The 313. Detroit. Detroit. Oh, they don't have... Is Michigan hating?
Starting point is 02:20:43 No, Fantasy, yeah, they don't have Fantasy. there's just certain states that just don't have fantasy you know man Atlanta because there's other companies hi Georgia Georgia other companies that are hating you gotta understand Nevada I was I'm in Vegas thinking I could bet and I'm like what the try to do my pickups like I gotta be able to do them here I'm so upset So what you do is just like any smart person, have somebody in the states that you can, you know, do picture pick-ems. Just give me passcode. Tell him which place you want.
Starting point is 02:21:13 That's right. Just tell him which place you want. I don't trust it. I don't trust it. So our next video is a person who has no underdog username, so they will not be getting $100. But here's the question. So does the TY dude get $200? give him $200. give him $200.
Starting point is 02:21:29 huh? he's the underdog. no, first one. oh yeah, he on here. first one's from TY Ray TV so he gets $200. you get this person's $100. we're not having a... what's up Gio, this is Neo here um my question is if you played in today's
Starting point is 02:21:47 game do you think your career will be better or worse i'm not gonna lie this generation of skill and talent is way better than your generation i'm not gonna lie but uh yeah do you think it'll be better or worse let me know peace shout Peace. Shout out, underdog. Shout out to Killz Arena. Play your show. That little nigga put subtitles on this shit? I know. He in the air.
Starting point is 02:22:12 He done stepped it up, put the subtitles. You know he's a. That nigga look like he grounded. Hey, man. Yeah. He look like he's supposed to be doing that shit. See, you know, with your mom and dad, boy. We told you about sending the videos to Gil.
Starting point is 02:22:26 I just want to let you know. Don't you let mama know. Let my mama know. Hey, man, what time is it, man? Oh, he might be out of school by now. We told you about them damn Gil's reading videos. That nigga playing hooky for real. Even though this generation, this is my type of talent, right?
Starting point is 02:22:47 Like shooting threes, right? Getting to the basket. The skill that they have is way above what I have. I can keep up offensively, defensively. Oh, my God. You know what I mean? Because I can't say if I had the training that I have now. I got to keep the training that I had, the moves that they're doing.
Starting point is 02:23:12 I just, like the Euro step, right? That Euro step or the same. Like, I was taught as soon as I got one step in the lane and I'm on my jump, right? Meet me at the rim. Here is go go go oh it took me about a year to figure whether like why would I want to keep going and then stop here when I've already done jump right so I would have struggled a little bit offensively like with my if you take my skill and put it here I would, I would have got by with just being smarter,
Starting point is 02:23:45 understanding what the rules were, what you can do, like the fact that you made the game smaller with the back line. So I'm going to get to the basket a lot faster. I'm shooting a lot faster. But defensively, I would have got barbecued. I would have been James Harden out of that motherfucker, man. My question is always, would these point guards do what they're doing now in our era? And who would be killing- All of them? I don't think so.
Starting point is 02:24:17 The reason- I think because we played more defensive scheme concepts where you had to be smarter as an offensive player to get your shit off. All of the guards in our era that was killing you, AI, and the shooting guards and small forwards, they had to play against our schemes. It wasn't just one-on-one. They only playing against one-on-one right now.
Starting point is 02:24:37 But think about it like this. The reason it's like this is because those schemes stopped working. The coaches stopped using them. No, it's because they stopped working. Because there wasn't dead spaces on the court anymore. There wasn't a Draymond Green just being out there. This version is like, oh, he got the ball.
Starting point is 02:25:00 He took off. Oh, we got to stop him. Oh, he threw it to the three. That guy became a utility. Versus just being like, think about somebody like Charles Oakley, right? Offensively what did he do? Nothing.
Starting point is 02:25:16 Nothing. Offensively you see what Draymond's doing. He didn't become just nothing. He became, all right I'm gonna come down, boom. Set the pick, get it, oh psych. Right, now your schemes Now your schemes become different. But the schemes, I believe, changed because the shooting became a lot better and more efficient. When you can shoot the ball, it takes us out of our schemes.
Starting point is 02:25:36 Yeah. If we're elbows and boxes and nail, right? And that nail is forcing you to pass that bitch and we rotate. If that guy's hitting that shot and we know at a full clip rotation or not, that's Clay. He's putting it up. But if he passes to the corner and you're late, that Kenyan's rotating to the corner and he don't get there in time, that's a bucket.
Starting point is 02:25:54 Like that's now taking us out of our schemes to say we can't even play elbows and boxes. But that's what I'm saying. It's the player. The player's got so much better that the schemes didn't work. Is it the shooting ability better or is it overall? I don't think it's the overall i just think that everyone's shooting the ball at the time that's considered better though there's no guy who don't shoot like so now when back then if you had like let's say that the 90s you had one and a half scores
Starting point is 02:26:17 my era two and a half now you got damn near four yeah right, right. So the schemes like you when I came in they was pressing They were for you. Oh, yeah Fuck is this old man? Yeah, this is a 2-2 layup, right? So Jamal Tinsley see the total between a leg the president the new guards that came in They were so fast and they had a scoring mentality that the press didn't work It wasn't just sitting here passing the ball We was going to the point where they took the press off then it became, you know one man pick them up full court Yeah, now I'm gonna one man fast break even though you scored right? So what ends up happening is
Starting point is 02:27:00 over time everyone got so skilled that the hard show rotate. Now, that rotate guy, that's Clay. Yeah. Right? You sitting here helping here, Clay, and then in the corner, Kevin Durant. Wide open. Wide open. Takes away the skin because of the shooting.
Starting point is 02:27:20 Think about you take Dennis Rodman off the court, right? And let's say Dennis Rodman off the court right and let's say Dennis Robbins Charles Barkley right you take you take Dudley off or whatever like what? Whittington bill when is your when you take him off push a kilo nil or dream down there? You garden the bulls different. You know what I mean? It becomes a whole different You can't guard them the same way you guard them because there's more
Starting point is 02:27:53 There's more talent on the court and that's where it is. It's like now it's more talent now. It's like well shit We're gonna switch everything We're gonna stay out of rotations because we don't want to give up open shots no more and then everybody just guard your man 101 Hmm, so the schemes that work back when us don't work here and we don't have a scheme that actually works for this generation yet They haven't found a defense haven't not not forever Like how do you scheme for someone like the Denver Nuggets right? They pass and move now imagine and imagine if now shit imagine if Michael Porter jr. Became Bradley Beal or Clay and he shot the ball like them.
Starting point is 02:28:29 The reason that they look guardable is because he don't shoot the ball like them. He shoot it, but he don't shoot it like them. Now imagine if he shot it like them. And Denver's kind of offense is kind of like sack the Kings. Back in the Kings. Yeah, the Yolkers just playing like Weber. Yep. Now imagine Vlade Divac was someone else. Yeah. Aaron Gordon. Yeah, athletic sitting in the corner somewhere waiting to die
Starting point is 02:28:50 You'd be like shoot the three or dunk that bitch playing a dunk a player to three play You got baby or Yakov is now that would have been moving cut think about that if they understood that if Weber was at the five and D box was at the five and D-Box was off the floor, offensively, how were you going to guard them? But four shooters around him. You put Bobby Jackson out there. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:29:12 Didn't Brad Miller play with them too? Brad Miller, he was later. He was later. He was later. But if you, Turkoglu. Because they put the ball in his hand. They put the ball in Brad Miller's hand. Yeah, he was the passer.
Starting point is 02:29:21 He was the passer in that bunch because he came from Chicago. So, but yeah. Good show. Yeah, he's a pass. He was the pass in that bus cuz he came from Chicago so Good show Good with guys. Sorry about those Wi-Fi issues again. Thank y'all for sticking with us You know, it's always gonna work out on gills arena presented by underdog fantasy. Whoa, whoa, whoa We will be back tomorrow. So we'll see y'all on win day in the arena. Security! Outro Music
