Starting point is 00:04:54 I got something to say. And I'm a safe. And I'm going to say it. We got a lot of things to discuss. Here's what's cracking in the arena today. Zion Williamson says he's not where he wants to be in his NBA career. but is there still hope for the former number one pick to reach his potential?
Starting point is 00:05:12 The Nuggets having advanced past the second round since winning the chip in 2023 is Denver doing enough to keep a contending level team around their three-time MVP and Joker also has some things to say about him wanting NBA players to go that play in Europe for six months to see what it's really like.
Starting point is 00:05:27 We will discuss. And Dilo, also known as Little Dilo here in the arena, getting ready to learn how to speak Chinese, buddy, after taking his talents to the Shanghai Sharks. Is this the end of the former Number 2 overall picks NBA career swag? Give him some smoke, y'all. Give him some smoke. No smoke?
Starting point is 00:05:43 Shanghai, Sharks. I'm happy for him, man. Happy for him, y'all. Stay playing that ball. Yeah, D'Lo. Go get that check, Dilo. He was living, he's about to live it up in time. Me, how? You played for the sharks, right? Yeah.

We appreciate y'all supporting us. All the love that you've been giving us with these Mosey fans questions. But hey, I need to tell y'all about this new sports trading app I discovered. It's called Polymarket. It's the most exciting way to trade in sports and it's a nationwide federally regulated prediction market. Polymarket
Starting point is 00:06:23 is the best prediction market better than draft kings, kouchy, and Fanduel. In the past, if you wanted a position on a game, you'd put your money in and get locked in until the very end. But Polymarket lets you trade games like you would have stock. in and selling out entirely on your terms. When your team drops to 20 cents, you buy the dip, and when they jump to 40 cents, you sell, lock in your gains and double your money without waiting for the final whistle. And it isn't just sports. You can trade on culture, news, and current events.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Plus they have a squads feature where you can talk and trade with your friends. Any trade a member places drops right into the chat as a card, and anyone can hit buy to take that same pick in one tap. This is the old limitations and trade on your terms. Download the Polymarket app and use code arena. And when you deposit just $10, you'll unlock $25 in bonus funds. That's Code Arena to get $25 in bonus funds when you deposit $10 on Polly Market. Appreciate you to find people at Polly Market keeping us blessed and stressed five days a week.
Starting point is 00:07:20 We're not stressed. I'm stressed every night. We were stressed last. Every night. Got to bring a good show for the people. We were stressed last. Got to keep playmaker. This is a breeze.
Starting point is 00:07:30 It was stressful. It was stressful. It was stressful. That's it. Gillesering, everywhere you want to be. Shout out to everybody watching the show on Twitch. If you have not done so already, subscribe to our Twitch channel at Gills Arena Show,
Starting point is 00:07:41 and we appreciate you in advance for the subs. So we're going to get into it. Zion Williams. Oh, whoa, birthday. Take your mom happy birthday, man. Hey, yeah, happy birthday, moms, yeah, pops, yeah. I didn't say your pops. Is both their birthday?
Starting point is 00:07:58 Well, it's like a week apart. Oh, that's all right? No, it wasn't... Charles. I'm not... I wasn't thinking, Charles. Charles, man. I'm trying to replace him for a long time now.
Starting point is 00:08:10 You know? It's going to be one of those days that a show goes through. Yeah, you're doing good today. Huh? You really... No, I'm just saying. You know? Gil got to say that day.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I see you pops out there jogging. Yeah, you know. So I'm lurking still. Speaking of jogging, Zion Williamson came into the NBA in 2019 as the number one overall pick with the most hype since LeBron James. The dunks, the highlights, the swag.
Starting point is 00:08:34 We thought we were witnessing the next face of the league. But now he's entering year eight with just two all-star appearances. Still hasn't played a single playoff game as his career has been marred by injuries. Through seven seasons, Zion has missed more regular season games than he's played,
Starting point is 00:08:48 missing 276 games while playing only 276. 278 missed games, 276 games played. So for the past few seasons, it's been the same story. Zion talks about how this season will be different for him and his team, and by and large, it ends up being the same thing. We keep waiting for him to fulfill the prophecy, and it doesn't happen. Well, during Pelicans Media Day Monday, Zion was very candid about how he views himself in his career.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Zion, where do you feel like you're at in your NBA career? I'm not where I want to be. I'm just not where I need to be. I'm not where I need to be, now where I want to be. Well, Joe was talking about and commending your work ethic this offseason, so it seems like a good start to get to. to where you want to be. Did you change anything about your off-season regimen at all?
Starting point is 00:09:45 And what were you kind of really working on this off-season? For me, it was just trusting Chris with this process. You know, my body, working with T-Spoon a little bit, working with sham, a little bit, working with coach, a little bit. Just working with different people, looking at the game different ways, just trying to find different ways just to get better. How does it make you feel when you hear that you've been in the league eight years? And if you look back to 19-year-old Zion, I mean, what would you say to him?
Starting point is 00:10:22 The fact that this year eight time is flown. You know, as I was getting dressed, I was like, wow, this is year eight for me. And, you know, looking back on it, what would I tell my younger self, 19-year-old self? I wouldn't tell him anything. You know, I feel like we go through the experiences we go through because that's just what was supposed to happen. and, you know, it helps make us into who we are. You know, it helps shape our mindset and, you know, the decisions we make in the future.
Starting point is 00:10:49 So I wouldn't tell them anything. I would just let them go through the process. So Zion and the Pels agreed to a five-year $193 million max extension in the summer of 2022. Got two years left on that deal. That deal had incentives potentially increasing its value, but it also included a weight clause giving the Pels an out to end the relationship if necessary. But Zion appeared in 60 games last season, the second most. of his career, inner training camp weighing 271 pounds, 13 pounds lighter than his previously listed weight of 284 pounds.
Starting point is 00:11:20 So an article from the athletics Will Gilroy Wednesday detailed why this season might be different, crediting Zion's trainer Chris Crisp with helping to get him right. Zion also mentioned him in his media day. So Zion brought Chris Ball on the beginning of last season, right before suffering a grade one hamstring strain, which forced him to miss a few weeks. And then Zion had an adductor injury that was, he was able to come back from sooner than expected. He was supposed to miss two months with that Gil, came back in two weeks thanks to the help of his new trainer. And he proceeded to
Starting point is 00:11:51 play 35 straight games after that. The longest streak of his career had a stretch replayed 52 or 53 games also during that time frame. So for the season, he averaged 21 points and six boards, which are both career lows, but shot 60% from the field with a new training regimen and outlook on his basketball career in health. Zion's still only 26 years old. He's still hold not hope of reaching the level that once seemed all but guaranteed. So Swaggy, we will start with you because it's been a minute since we've seen. Oh, man, damn. What are your thoughts on Zion saying he's not where he wants to be in his NBA career?
Starting point is 00:12:25 Man, I feel him. If he, eight years is crazy how fast that go. He got about four years left before it's just completely bused. Two years left on this deal. It's a bus. Why four? I say 30 because you're after 30, you're, you're Zion now. I ain't know, maybe he could get over this hump.
Starting point is 00:12:52 If he attacked the game, like he attacked these holes I've been hearing about, he would be motherfucking an all-star, you know, but shit. But it's good to see him in, it's good to see him looking in shape. I think, freaky Z. Yeah, freaky Z, boy. He's a quiet assassin. He need to just be who he is off the court, on the court, man. And I think it's time to get traded too.
Starting point is 00:13:19 It's time for them to do what they did with John Memphis. Just trade them. Probably need a new scenery. He needs some vets around them, I feel like. And they'll work out for him. Hopefully this year will work out because he's one of them guys that I feel like got the name, the game, but it just ain't, it's like that curl. He ain't got a full Jerry curl.
Starting point is 00:13:43 It's like it ain't all the way here yet. Not fully activated. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got a hair cut without the line. Yeah, it's like, ah. He had the lineup, he had the little part? I'm just saying. I'm saying, at Media Day.
Starting point is 00:13:56 So Zion, through seven seasons, like we said, missed more than half of the regular season games in his career. Also missed a full season. I obviously dealing with injury. So he's really going to play like three and a half seasons worth of basketball at 26 years old. But Boogie, when you look at Zion, saying he's not where he wants.
Starting point is 00:14:11 to be now where he needs to be in his NBA career. What's your reaction to that? We ain't mad at it. I guess you could say it's a form of accountability, looking himself in the mirror. One more for himself. But I do believe it's time for, you know, like a change of scenery.
Starting point is 00:14:30 I think that would actually benefit him really greatly. It's hard to sit here and just, you know, put the blame all on the things that he can, like, control naturally, like, which is his game, his effort and things like that. But dealing with injuries, those type of things happen is usually out of your control. I don't think nobody's walking into the season. Like, I hope I get hurt for it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:14:55 I really would love another hamstring strain. Exactly. So, you know, I feel like, you know, some things just unfortunate and out of your control throughout your career. And, you know, when the narrative around his name is, you know, he's an eight-year player that hasn't made the playoffs. but it's more context to that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:15 That's just the easy way of bashing this athlete. And even though some of it is true, it's still a lot of context that comes with it. So injuries play a huge part in this game. He's not the first player we've seen going through this. Some guys find that success earlier and can never capitalize off of it because they end up finding injuries.
Starting point is 00:15:34 So you can start off great and bad. You can start off bad and great. The good part about this, he's still got time to write his story. He still has, you know, plenty of basketball to play. The part where he talked about, you know, what would he tell his 19-year-old self in year 8? I don't believe that.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I think he would have a lot more to say than, you know, nothing go through the process. Lay off the work. Yeah. You know, controlling your body. I mean, working on your body, working on your craft early. I think it's a lot of things that could have helped prevent it. Shit, I can even say that for myself.
Starting point is 00:16:11 You know what I mean? Once you start. going through those injuries, you think back on some of the, you know, things that could have prevented it. And not necessarily saying that it's a thing that you could have controlled, but it's things that, it's prevention put in place for those reasons, you know what I mean? Maybe I should have put those extra reps in, or I should have lifted after the game that day. So it can be simple things like that. But, you know, I still believe in the kid's talent. I mean, his talent speaks for itself. Doobin's shooting damn near 60% since he walked in.
Starting point is 00:16:43 20 and 10. I do feel like he's finally got over that hurdle as far as, you know, getting his body in order. You look at him coming into the season. He's 13 pounds down. 274. 6, 5, 666 frame is still like crazy. Everybody's bodies are different.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I play that 280. I'm 611. So when I think about it like, and they were telling me I was too big. You know what I'm saying? So when I think about it like that, yeah, you look better than you. you did, but that don't mean that's still your best form. So I think he can still continue to work on his body. The other thing, has his game really grown since he's came into the league? We all knew he was this freak athlete, you know what I mean? But has his game really grown?
Starting point is 00:17:29 Has he become a better shooter? Has he become a better playmaker, a better defender? All of those things are still to be, you know, determined. So I still think he got a lot of life left. It's just on him at this point. So we talk about the injuries. Some of those things, beyond his control, but I think Zion has been more accountable of the years have gone on dealing with the weight issues, living in New Orleans, the culinary offerings that that city provides. Gil, he ran up on us, Summer League, I believe, 2023 when we had first started this show.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Ran up. We were at the win in Vegas. He put the claws on, he kind of crashed the set. He was walking by, saw us. Look like he had something he wanted to say to Gil, much like a lot of people out there. He didn't paralyzing, hey, be a fella. But also pointed out.
Starting point is 00:18:12 He was, he was, he was. We're talking about Brian having the blueprint, him wanting to follow that blueprint, the difficulties of being young with a bunch of money in the league, and, you know, trying to deal with the weight issue and all those various things. But again, when you look at, I mean, New Orleans don't help either, if we're being honest. Love New Orleans. I love it for that exact reason.
Starting point is 00:18:31 I'm going down there. I'm going down there. I'm going to eat good. So don't help. I remember, 2019, when I said, you're praising the kid in college at 19 for being 280 when having heavy was a positive thing you remember they were pushing oh he's heavier than the second you know the uh I guess there was one sinner that was heavier than him and I said this is not a good thing I said he's 19 right now he this is the
Starting point is 00:19:04 most winning he's ever going to do in college when he gets to the NBA and he has to sit around club B-19 B-20 B-21 I said he can fuck a round B-3-10 by a second year at least he's been down but I said he's going to be injury prone due to I don't think anybody was ready for the explosion that he was bringing to the game right
Starting point is 00:19:32 no one's ever seen it so the trainers wasn't going to be able to understand how to train him you're going to train him like a basketball player, but his body doesn't move like a basketball player. He should be training in a summer with Miles Garrett or on the track, learning how to explode, because that means he got to, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:55 like work on the little hip flexors, work on these little muscles that NBA players don't work on. Because when you're talking about taking off, right? You know, it's like Derek Rose. You're like hand cop. You got so much torque coming out if your body is not ready for the movement, if you're a little heavier,
Starting point is 00:20:18 if you're not in tune, if your muscles is not ready for that kind of explosion and dropping, you're going to stay injured. Right? So it was like, I seen it then. Like I'm seeing some of the explosion. And I'm like, man, college, you lift fucking five days a week.
Starting point is 00:20:35 You get that. You by yourself. Right. So if you don't have a great thing, team with you that's micromanaging, the little things, you're going to lose control of this body. And it's meaning like you're not going to be able to, it's too much torque for them, right? So that's all this has been.
Starting point is 00:20:52 It ain't the lifestyle. Well, I mean, the beginning is a lifestyle because being 19 in the city with all the money, being Zion, everybody you with, just getting in the club. Right? So you're going to lose a lot of energy just being 19 in the NBA. Right? So if you don't have the right guidance around you, you know, you were going to be, you know, some of those fatigue nights and you're coming in and you're trying to play. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:23 I seen that coming. And I said, man, listen, they should train you as a shooting guard. Meaning you should come into the season every year trying to get the two, two. 235, 240 at the max. I'm thinking 250. But even if he's at 250, he's a shooting guard in NBA. I said, you're coming down to hill. Are you coming down hill? You got to be on a street dog.
Starting point is 00:21:47 I mean, you might have a big fucking head, but. Yeah, I'm about saying that stuff. You got to shoot up for that. He got to do it. But, like, coming down being, I said, you're like a god as a shooting guard. Right. If you as a shooting guard, you coming down hill, there's nobody. There's nobody stopping you.
Starting point is 00:22:01 You're just fucking D-Wade 10.0. Yeah. Right? So it was one of those thoughts. like, I said his biggest challenge in the NBA career were just maintaining his weight. That's his only challenge. That said, talk to Al Harrington,
Starting point is 00:22:16 talk to Carmelo, talk to, you know, should, Dwight, LeBron. Talk to those guys who had to worry about their eating. I said, Eudonis Haslam. We talked about guys like Kevin Love, guys that have been able to completely transform their bodies. That's just the food point, but you're talking about guys who kind of like moved
Starting point is 00:22:34 with fast, fast-touch muscles. Like, there's nothing like him in the NBA. And, you know, like, his background is football. His father was a football player. So they had to be thinking like that. Like, basketball in the season, we gained weight. I gained weight. Too much motherfucking gatorade.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Same. Right? Too much gatorade on the, but, like, if you look at our muscles. You eat late after every game. Every game. 10, 11 o'clock on the plane. Yep. Get to the hotel two in the morning.
Starting point is 00:22:59 We ordering food. So it was all spiking and shit. Yeah, yeah. But as a bus, no. No, there's a bus is a bus is. A bus for what you trash. A bus is you trash. What we thought you was going to be.
Starting point is 00:23:19 That's what he's saying. But it's like you went out there and he hasn't showed that he can't play. No, I'm not saying a bus like that. I'm not saying. You went out there and played. He underachee. He's underachieving. No, but that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:23:32 But you went out there and. played, right? Like a bus says you went out there and played, you got the minutes, you just didn't perform. Whether it's a parley on Sunday or a straight bet on the big game, you get way more with Betway. Must be 19 plus, Ontario

But I'm saying, when do it gets that point where you know he can't do that?
Starting point is 00:27:46 He's not a bus. He's just underachieved. That's what I'm saying. Even with- I do different things, though. I know what a bus is. But I'm saying is, even if he was healthy. And I tell.
Starting point is 00:27:57 21 and 6. If he was healthy, he's making every all-star game, When did you give up on the hype, though? That's what I'm saying. Like, that's what I'm saying. Is the hype like they've done that already? Is the hype gone, though, Swagie? I mean, Gil, you said previously,
Starting point is 00:28:12 a bus means bitch you should have tried, right? Yeah. It seems like he's trying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't think it's a lack of work, but... Like, if you look at his comments and you can see it in his eyes, some people just love...
Starting point is 00:28:30 Like, the love of the game has always been in this, and I think that's why he's... he's hurt and he can't answer because he loves the game. His body is just, he just hasn't been disciplined enough to really understand what his body needs for him to just get out there and play. He wants to play. Like, I mean, losing this kind of weight every, like, every year, you're like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:28:55 that's what I'm talking about, right? We've been happy with every time he's came into training camp, right? Like, he has not disappointed anybody coming into the training camp. So that means he's really working in a training camp. summer, he just got to figure how to work, you know, during the season too. Like, the season is going to be your problem. Summer, you got that. That's easy.
Starting point is 00:29:16 The sun's out, motherfucker, you're running. You can jog. You can lose more weight. The season, when you're on them flights, you're sitting around more, right? There's no three times a day. There's none of that shit. But you coupled that with the fact. I was, I would have tried to trade Julius Rand do in some life.
Starting point is 00:29:30 But I'm just like, I'm just like. He's trying on my boy. Seas, a million of season. I'm just like New Orleans. Yeah. But it's it hard. I got a lot of clauses in it, but I go. How much blame is on him and how much is on the wariness?
Starting point is 00:29:46 I will blame, I can't blame a 19-year-old for not knowing how to be a professional. Even when it comes to him learning how to take care of his body, that's the process. You learn, you learn, yeah, that's a problem. You learn how to do that. That's why you need vets. I can't blame the organization the first two, three years. Yeah. Because you've never had that before.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Yeah. Right? There's not a lot of teams that can say they had a freakish athlete that just jumped out the charts. So we know, and my little trainer knows how to train this body and get it ready for the game. But I always thought and always expressed it. Hey, you got the saints out here. The saints is right down there. There's some running backs out there.
Starting point is 00:30:33 There's some linemen. There's some people that has this body. Right? They got to explode through shit. They got to take off. His problem is taken off. When he decides to get a rebound and take off and he's old hamstring, I've never seen like Hussein Boat. Who's that? Hamstring is when he got older, when he's not practicing as much.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Right. That's their issues, right? One thing we know track athletes, they got to worry about their hammies. And Achilles, which they never have. So there's something they're doing in their training. to protect this and this. Right? And that's his problem.
Starting point is 00:31:12 His problem is always going to be, Hemmy and Tha, is the Hemmy and Tha strong enough to get off the floor, come down? And is it hard to expand your game when you're always dealing with injuries, too? That's why I feel like his game ain't changed that much,
Starting point is 00:31:27 because you always fighting to get on the court and you don't have time to work on. Too busy rehab. Yeah. But at the same time, when you do get hurt, that's when everybody becomes a better shooter. True.
Starting point is 00:31:41 The first thing you can do before you do anything basketball is spot shooting. Yeah. So you're doing that more than any part of the rehab program. That probably has the most, that takes up most of the rehab program. Spot shooting. For sure. But for him, don't you work on explosive? Yeah, like for us, it's easy because you've been shooting two days one, right?
Starting point is 00:32:05 Yeah, but I still. gradually came better shooting but not that. And more so around the time, I think my shooting became even better once I got injured. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:16 And part of that is, one, once I got injured, obviously, I'll never have the athleticism I have before. That too, though. So now I have to become better
Starting point is 00:32:25 as another part of my game. And that's why I asked the question earlier. Has Zion gotten better since he's came in the lead? I think his game is the exact same. He got smarter and wiser because it's gotten older. But when you're talking about...
Starting point is 00:32:42 He plays the same exact style. You know what... He ain't all that athletic. You know, you know what the problem really probably is for him? Spot shooting. I'm pretty sure they've done that for the last eight years.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Has he become a better catching shoot? The problem is... It ain't translate. The problem is that hammie, these red here, these amenities that he needs. He's probably just shooting flat-footed doing that. And then when that's asking the game, he got his explosion back and he's jumping out the mood trying to shoot a jump shot,
Starting point is 00:33:11 that didn't translate. None of that shit going to translate. You just did practice shots for no reason. You need a little bit of. And that happens, that happens too, because just like anybody knows, for something you work on in the summer, for the translate in the game, you have a, like, you have a, you have a, your basketball game, you have this speed. I'll say it's probably like a 80, 85.
Starting point is 00:33:38 You know how to move 80-85, right? When you're training, you have to train at a 9,100. Right? You can't slow bop. Shut out the kid. You know, slow bob, you see, he'd take, nah, you got to run into kids. Like, you got to, you got to really over-prepared.
Starting point is 00:33:55 It's all games to be. Yeah, you got to over-prepared. I hate that. That's what kids do now, though. The kids do that now. They'd be so lats. And they want to God they can't show. Greatest example I ever seen that was Kevin Durant, bro.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Like, when they can't, His workouts are... Oh, man. They're way more intense than the game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, everything is game speed. It's like he's playing an imaginary defender, every rep. And, you know, being a guy that's also had to have his own training to just see that.
Starting point is 00:34:25 It's hard. That shit, hard as hell to do. Especially when there's nobody in front of you. Every rep, a hundred miles, that's hard to do. But it also is the reason Kevin Durant plays a game the way you. does because once he's in the game, that game speed is natural for him. You know what I mean? So I think that's a technique within itself, and that's also something that gets, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:49 overlooked, especially when it comes to the younger generation. For sure. And I say when you look at somebody like Zion, right, hamstring injuries, like, what level of conditioning can you do with a hamstring injury? So you're talking about injuries. I mean, you get on, the first thing they put you on is that bite. Yeah, see, I have a fucking slow. But, like, like, that way.
Starting point is 00:35:08 But you got a strong handstring, foot injury, Mississippi with a foot injury. It's all here, but. But it's like you can't even, I'm out for two, three months. I can't do nothing but you. That don't stop conditioning there. When I tore my Achilles, I was, shit, I basically learned how to swim. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:24 I tore my Achilles the first, I would say, four months of the injury, I got up to swimming 60 laps a day. In the Olympics? So it still forms of a condition. It's just, what are you willing to go do? And for a guy that's... 3,000 meters? What age you learned how to swim at?
Starting point is 00:35:42 What was that? 27? Damn. Yeah, that's crazy. See? Sterling. I mean, shit, the fact that you know how to swim, no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:48 I know how to swim by them. Hey, you can't swim that long. You be like, yeah, I'm good on this one. Right? I'm in there. Like, hey, I know how to spend. Hey. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:01 That's hard, though. Yeah. Depending on how this year looks. Pool party, too. I would tell, I would tell him. I would tell him, spend his summers working out with Miles Garrett. And Jim McCrow. No.
Starting point is 00:36:20 A little bit of both. Miles Garrett. And who? He's a drummercronis. He needed a little. Hey, but let me just throw this in there. I think that was kind of some of the previous issues with the Pelicans medical staff. It was more of a football-centric staff because the owners owned the Saints.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Oh, then they're done then. See, the owners on the Saints as well. But now they've shifted to more NBA-stantry. Then you're as dumb as I... Then you're dumber than I thought. You've shifted... If you got all these great-ass athletes that's pushing mass muscle and fibers and twitch muscles like this,
Starting point is 00:36:55 and you're saying you have that same body style in here, and you're not understanding how to do it? But, the difference between football and basketball, the football bursts for 12, 15 seconds, right? It's a quick one. That's when you get hurt. But you're telling for 30. seconds. You're not going continuously up and down.
Starting point is 00:37:10 That's why you need to play 30 second rec. Like Michael Parsons, like, that explosion, how he has to move his hips and go and take off. That's the same thing. When he gets that movement and take off, those are where he's getting hurt. But you have to sustain that for
Starting point is 00:37:25 up and down, offense, defense, and a basketball. That's just regular running. I'm talking about when those muscles get activated. That means when he gets the ball, like we know when LeBron, like, LeBron runs all day. There's moments in the game where he sees a fast break
Starting point is 00:37:42 and then get his head down and take up those. That's what his muscles are getting. When he's getting up and he sees that ball going up and he, boom, those little drills right there is what his muscle needs to learn how to do. But LeBron, I think he need a little finesse in his life too, though. Everything is explosive. He can't even control that right now. Work with Curry.
Starting point is 00:38:07 That's why I'm saying. Work with some soccer coaches. Like, you need to learn how to, like, these ligaments, these little ligaments that's supporting all this muscle mass, and he's going to be strong. That's what LeBron told us in the last 24 years. What's the closest type player to him? That's what I'm saying, LeBron.
Starting point is 00:38:23 What's the closest type player to him that came through our league? Bo Jackson. Ronnie Rogers? Oh. Boe Jackson. I mean, it would be Charles. Charles. Yeah, if I say Charles.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Uh, grandma, Larry Johnson. Larry Johnson, yeah. Not quite. Not, not, not. In the beginning? Not quite. Like, the closest thing. Malig Rose.
Starting point is 00:38:47 If you look at, if you look at early Charles Barkley. No, Charles Barkley for sure. That, that exposure, that jumping. Charles for sure. I'm going to say Ronnie Rogers. Ronnie Rogers was kind of a caller though, right? 6-7. Rodney had a jumper too, right?
Starting point is 00:39:04 A wetter, but just the build, like the, like the, football build in a basketball environment. Was he crazy athletic? He was athletic. I'm thinking about that, Darwin Ham. Oh, yeah? Garvinham.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Garvinham? Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Corliss? Williams? Mm. I don't think of course was super duper,
Starting point is 00:39:24 I thought. He was athletic. It's like, like, definitely a similar build, though. But he's still coming in heavier than like Darwinham.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Chadson and Sean Kemp? No. No. No. He was, he was, he was, he was, he was framed. Yeah. But he,
Starting point is 00:39:39 like, You're going to be talking about, like, muscle magic. You're going to be talking about 80s, 70s. They're talking about Orlando Magic, Sean Kim. Um, um, Darylalkins. They're talking about, you're talking about, like, people like that, but that's, you are. We got Zion 7th season of the league entering. I want to know with shoes, too.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Like, what kind of souls you have? What kind of shoes you're using? Like, because you got to remember when you get up, you got to come down. Yeah. And you're coming down with power. Chastain Julius Peppers, I think that's a good comp, Julius players. But he played at UNC. But that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Like, I'm thinking about... That's actually a good. I'm thinking about football. Like, when we watch Miles Garrett and what's the name... Yeah, I was saying... Like, he's taking off so his body understands how to move like this because he does these movements every day. That's real.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I think Brandon Hayward could by speak to that, but Julius Randall on the basketball... I'm about to say Julius Randall? Free guys. Or Julius Pepper, excuse me? Julius Pepper. Julius Pepper. Julius Pepper. Julius Pepper.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Julius Pepper. He just riled. But he ain't going to get hurt. We're talking about that. Like, even like somebody like Derek Rose, right? We never seen nothing like that. Like that rocket ship speed and explosion. So it brings my next question.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Zion seven seasons in the league, missed more games that he's played in, what, 24 and 6th and 4 assists career averages? Yeah. Shooting about 59% from the field. So when Zion says he's not where he needs to be, where should he actually be? You know where. He knows.
Starting point is 00:41:04 Yeah, he knows. He's supposed to be in, that realm of, you know, the face of the league. I know. He should be a top 15 guy at worst right now. So. Babish, I mean. That worse.
Starting point is 00:41:21 All right. Really? Top five. He should be competing for the best player in the NBA every year, right? You're talking about a guy who's his second year. He was already an all-star? 27 and 7. 27 and 7 as a 19-year-old.
Starting point is 00:41:36 27, 7 and 4, shooting 61% from the field, played 61 games that season. Yeah, you're talking about a guy who was on his way of being a... He's a megastar. I mean, fuck, like, his worst year's last year averaging 21 and 6. Right. That's his worst year. Right?
Starting point is 00:41:56 So... Damn. I'm just be honest with you. Can he still be a Hall of Famer? Yeah. Because eight years is eight years, but he's only 26. The only thing that's going to stop.
Starting point is 00:42:16 He's average a dub for his career. The only thing that's going to stop Zion in the next 10 years is if he's sitting there at 280. Hell no, man. Because, that man, everybody was. The hose almost stopped him. Every super star. All these.
Starting point is 00:42:31 She said, I'm a leaped to tape. You know, magic Johnson was great. Listen, we can look right down at this. Holes, holes, holes. Yeah, he was great for nine years, right? Great for 10 years. About 90% of people on this wall, guys. mentioned or we're married we're gonna say marry first because we got we can't we can't about 90%
Starting point is 00:42:47 avid fans of the work yeah no no but not this type of work so great men they see the picture there's gonna be many it is a great man in here all let's say 62% just say half okay well we got one to marry Mary Mary Burr getting it in uh married I actually it's a lot of squares in there's a lot square it is a lot of squares I'm sorry but um I I think I think listen if he if he if he plays if he plays 65 to 70 games for the next five years, all those years are going to be all-star years. He played 65 to 75 to 85 to next. He plays 65 to 75 games a year?
Starting point is 00:43:25 Or 65, like, he makes it. Has he played 65 in his career? He's played 71 time. And he played 62 this season was the most, and 61 before that was the third high. And you're saying 65 to 75. They make all NBA, because that's the threshold. Like, that's the threshold.
Starting point is 00:43:39 The threshold is because of the, the, the new rule, but making an all-star game average in 27 and 7 will be his worst years. If he goes to 25, 26, he's making an all-star game. You give him three, four more all-stars first ballot off that, just that alone. First ballot? Yeah. But think about his worst year is 21. He just needs to get.
Starting point is 00:44:04 So when he's out there, he is dominating. He just got to stay out there. Any team could use Zion and win. There's some teams that can win with Zion. Listen, if I'm a pelican, I'm going to be pelicans on the right. No, because they fuck. If you don't shut the fuck up. Everybody that left the pelicans ended up winning something, are going further.
Starting point is 00:44:21 And that's why I'm not giving away another one. What would be a good spot? Timmer will. Lakers? Timmer will. Lakers would be a good spot, actually. Him and Luca? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Right? You need a guy that's going to be picked from it. I'm glad you said. Do you think part of the problem with Zion success is him being the first option? No. Is he a first option? Or would you say he's better suited at being a robin or a second option? He's, his style, his style is the one of the best second options that you can find.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Right. Because you don't need plays for him for him to average 20. Exactly. Right? He's going to office rebinds. He just, like if you ever watch him, he just plays hard. like shit, right? He's damn near like Cooper Flag.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Just one thing they do is they're going to play hard. So you don't have to call plays for him. So you can put him with a fucking selfish guy, and he's going to rock out. I think that's part of the issue. If I'm Detroit, as a second. I might, say, you know what?
Starting point is 00:45:34 If I'm Detroit and I got to pay two something. That's a good fucking call. Simon trade, that's a good one. That's a good one. I'm thinking about, I'm thinking about Kay, someone who just needs this guy that's set picks and roll and stuff. Detroit would be on fire.
Starting point is 00:45:49 On fire? Oh, my God. That'd be nice. Just any dominant guard or wing that that just going to relieve pressure and he can just be the cleanup man hit him with a couple of bouncing ass
Starting point is 00:46:00 and he's dunking on him, sitting him on the backside, he's throwing lobs. You're having that much pressure on you? You're trying to, yeah. Got to do too much. Your knees ain't going to go. That's a good call. He plays like that slipping under game
Starting point is 00:46:13 Like he played like that old basketball. It's like a Dennis Rodman style of play where he's sitting behind the defense coming in. You know, like Dennis Rodman mixed with a Paul Pierce cut. He just got all these little things with him. But also you can put him in, you got a nice little ISO package that he's going to zip through with the little left. He's going to blow past him.
Starting point is 00:46:34 So Zion Extension, Elis, two seasons left on his deal. He's signing that. People aren't expecting. You crazy. I wouldn't sign it from Zion. The waterfall goes, I'm just kidding. But people aren't expecting much
Starting point is 00:46:44 from the Pelicans this season, but their roster is interesting. They got a good roster. The roster's interesting. That's the crazy part. So along with Zion, they have Trey Murphy, Dejante Murray, Sadiq Bay, who I think they just extended
Starting point is 00:46:54 Herb Jones, got Jeremiah Fears and Derek Queen entering their sophomore seasons. Also added Benedict Matherin. They got a squad. And they got a former NBA champion Jordan Poole of a pool party. Trade Pooleon. So if Zion stays healthy this season,
Starting point is 00:47:05 the Pelicans still struggle, would this be the time for them to try to move on from them? Yes. I think it's been to it. It's not like a bad thing, but I'm just saying for him. Oh, for him? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:18 And Trado. I'm, okay. You don't see like he need a new environment? Yeah, y'all got to stop talking for these owners. Like, everybody ain't dumb, all right? They are dumb. Memphis, listen, nobody paying it to you all the more. Y'all ain't selling no jerseys out there no more.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Ain't nobody coming to the game no more. Like, Memphis, you got to win at a very high rate to get recognition. Jah gave you that just his style of play. Right? Lamello gave you that Charlotte with his style of play. Zion's going to give, you know, Pelicans that style of play.
Starting point is 00:47:53 I'm on the business side of things and I realize that there's, everyone's not tradable. Not to my pocketbook. Unless I got a team that's going to win and bring people in this arena. And I just got to rely on fucking LeBron coming fucking once a year.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Like, no, no, I got a guy who can bring people in here that's going to keep me over the threshold until I figure that out. Zion's that for Pelicans. And you're getting rid of here. You better build a goddamn team that's going to win and get into the playoffs every year, every year for you to sustain. Other than that, your superstar is what brings the people in.
Starting point is 00:48:29 But you could get something good for Zion. I don't want nothing good. What does Zion's sake, don't you feel like he's wasting his career there? It's eight years, and he's nobody still watching. the Pelicans. I don't go what you're playing. No, no. We watched the highlights and see what Zion did. We're not watching no Pelican games thinking they're going to win the game.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Exactly. We're watching the highlights. He leaves. We're not watching nothing. We're not watching nothing. Because you can end up winning. You could buy a team. What was the last time you watched the Wizards? It's been a long time. Exciting team. You're watching it now. You're going to watch it this year.
Starting point is 00:49:07 My fuckers going to tune in. That's all the same. My one's going to tune in to Utah. They could get the number one pick. You could trade it for a pick. Names, man. You said a pick. Picks and some other shit.
Starting point is 00:49:18 You could get some picks for Zion like OKC did. Nobody's watching OKC. They trade it. You mean like a lot of pigs type deal? Or like a pick? A lot of picks. I mean, it might be the way it's looking. You might have to give up a pick.
Starting point is 00:49:33 For Zion? Damn. Fuck no. It depends on if they look at it as a bad thing. contract or not. Two years left on his deal, though. I got a motherfucker right now asking for 285.
Starting point is 00:49:47 That's what I'm saying. His bad numbers is 20. I got like two years. I'm gonna be stupid. I'm like him in Detroit. That's a little bit too much. I like him to be. I got like two years 87 left on his deal.
Starting point is 00:50:01 See? I can work with that. That's too much. Knowing damn well if they even think about like not giving me that deal. I'm taking the Zion deal every time.
Starting point is 00:50:13 If I'm Pelicans, I'm signing to an extension. Listen, every, I don't I say, I'm sign the Zion to an extension. I'm happy to. No. I'm happy to. He's 28. Eight years is cool, but he's 26. Now, I want you to think about. That's what I was talking about.
Starting point is 00:50:33 When do that stop right there? Think about history. That's what I was talking about. What age do that stop? 26 years old. Jordan didn't get his first championship to win. LeBron didn't get his first championship. I mean, technically he's still... That's why I said, Jordan, entering his prime. That's when that stops.
Starting point is 00:50:49 They're still young. That's 26 was old prime. Right. These niggins right here starting at 30 now. Like even with Anthony Davis, I'm sitting there like, wait, he's only what? Oh, man, I'm maxing you out still. Right.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Or you may be trading in for Jalen Dern, just depending on what the move feels like. If I'm, I would, I would do that too. I would do that too. There's talks about those two teams of conversation. I ain't mad at that movie. But if you're Zion, man. But more on the timeline basis, I would like Cade and.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Zion. That would be crazy, bro. The NBA, if he has a really healthy year. And he makes an all-M-Bee-Bee team or some shit like that. They got the best medical path. You get some people, bro. I don't know if they still do, but I need him in a business. bigger market. I need
Starting point is 00:51:40 him with money behind. I need him with a franchise that got money behind him. Clippers? Clippers? That kind of like... Clippers? That got money behind him that can really give him to like they can pay attention to his physical part. Man, I thought that would have to trade Julius Randall for that. Clippers won't be a bad
Starting point is 00:51:56 slot. Clippers might, you know what? The New York... Clippers could trade for him. Yeah. If I'm bomber, that might be a move I could, I would make. All the moves you done made, I would take my risk on that. I would too. For sure. That makes sense. Because even with Kauai, you're sitting there like, you know what,
Starting point is 00:52:12 at the end of the day, he still is considered damn there top three. A clipper. It could be Live City 2.0. I mean, what I'm saying is still a top three clipper of all time. For sure. For sure. Chad also saying Timberwolves, I don't think. I said Timberwolves.
Starting point is 00:52:29 That's too much. No. I'm saying we should have traded Julius Randall. That's the way NBA. I like Caminger better. I like Caminger in that role better. Boy, that team will be magnificent. With Zion?
Starting point is 00:52:43 I need him. You don't think so? Him flying around. You still got the live city over there with Mello. I think that takes them down a notch defensively, though. Hell no, that makes them super athletic, Jalen Day. And Goldberg down there? Fuck.
Starting point is 00:53:00 They still super athletic. I just feel like it makes them worse defensively. Now we're depending on Zion to match up with windy. But you still got golf. Go Burr. I know Go Burr, but... I'm playing him at the... I'm playing him at the...
Starting point is 00:53:12 I'm playing him at the... I'm playing him at the... 2, 3, 3, 4. Uh-uh. 2, 3-4. I like a matter of 4. 2, 3, 3, 4. Wait, wait, wait, not on Minnesota, though.
Starting point is 00:53:23 No, I'm saying that's... Oh. Like, if I'm coaching him, 2, 3, 3, 4. I say 3, 4. I like 3-4. I can't say 2. Hey, play... Play guard you?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Right. Drop it. Drop it. Drop it. Drop it. I'm taking a charge. Drop it. Drop it. I'm taking the charge.
Starting point is 00:53:38 I know he's going to go. And how many shooting... Because he's not about to do... Listen, how many shooting guards... How many shooting guards is actually taking them off the dribble like that? Remember, the top shooting guards, Jalen Brown. Jay and Brown didn't get in the body, you know, getting right?
Starting point is 00:53:53 It's not like that foot spree. I think you are. I mean, the only people that's going to, like, mix him will be... Puckler and... He'll get in foul trouble. For the most part. He's getting foul trouble. When he said, Jimmy Butler is not really...
Starting point is 00:54:04 Yeah. Because he just want to jump. He's going to have to be smart on, like, going for them pump-p-pice and shit. He's going to guard two? That's what I'm saying. Depending. Like, I'll have him guard a song. I try to want to switch.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Yeah, he have him guard. There's like certain twos. I wouldn't have them guard. Two on offense, three on defense, three, four on defense. So normally say super chat question for the end of the show, but got a good one from RG basketball. So how do y'all feel about Zion in Portland? I like Portland. I always wanted Zion to go back with...
Starting point is 00:54:36 Who would you trade? You had to trade for. And they got all them damn assets. Oh, yeah, you can straight, Channing Sharp and Scoop. Oh, they got a lot of assets. John Zine together, you know? You can do that. I always wanted John Zine together.
Starting point is 00:54:51 Because they need to get rid of Scoot. It's just, you don't like it because it's just nasty. He's going to be a clipper. I can see him being a clipper. I can see him be in a clipper. Clipper or a... He could fuck around and be a boss insulting. Yeah, he could use them, too.
Starting point is 00:55:07 Five hours. offense. And who they got a PG at that. They'll probably be gone. They got enough money for that? Yeah, they got rid of $2.00. They can find some money around there. They got rid of $10.
Starting point is 00:55:20 If I'm clippers and I know like I don't have no more draft picks and stuff like that and I'm looking at somebody who's like that's like that's what I feel like the Pelicans going to have to add a pick to get rid of Zines. So if I'm the clippers, I'm definitely looking at that move. I will. Depending on if they look at it as a bad guy That's going to pull in too though
Starting point is 00:55:41 That will His game would just take off And he'll be that He'll be that Sean Kim style Will be Halliburton Right Playing with somebody like him
Starting point is 00:55:51 But he got to be it But he got His muscles got to be just moving right Indiana would be nice Him and Hallie But you can say any team really With Zion like that now But Indiana would be nice
Starting point is 00:56:04 Like for us to be like Oh shit Zion back Sockles. Trey Young, picking roles with Trey yon. You keep them. So who played a four? Where?
Starting point is 00:56:13 They interchangeable. Three, four. Three, four, yeah. Three, four. Yeah. Just add some athleticism to it. Because they do got that dunk contest, dude,
Starting point is 00:56:22 at that three? Obie? Obie, yeah. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. We're going to talk about a subject that hits close to home for us. So for seven years, Shannon Sharp, Skip Baylis,
Starting point is 00:56:30 formed a dynamic duo working together on undisputed from controversial takes, heated debates, and memeable moments. the two were a legendary pairing like a two-piece with a biscuit. The show had highs and lows with the infamous Put Your Glasses back on moment during a heated debate on Tom Brady.
Starting point is 00:56:45 Shannon taking offense to skip tweet about DeMar Hamlin when you had his situation go down. And also Shannon wanted to further establish his own digital brand, serving as some of the catalyst for their breakup. So Duo linked up recently with Skip pulling up the club, Shay Shay, where they detailed the unceremonious end of undisputed in the factors which led to that end. Let me ask you this. why do you think the show finally ended?
Starting point is 00:57:10 Yo ass. I think that the people upstairs, going all the way to the top, were more impacted by that kind of clash than you and I were. And I think that like everybody else in this world, they were prisoners of internet overreaction. Like you said, the internet decided that's the end of undisputed We knew and loved it. And it felt like from that moment on that our clock was ticking, and they just decided we need to go in a different direction.
Starting point is 00:57:47 But it went all the way to the bitter end when we started counting down days to what I was told was your last day. And then maybe three days before your last day, I came to your dressing room. And we went back and forth, and you said, hey, I was. I don't want to leave. And I'm like, you don't? No. I was. They didn't give me much of a choice in the matter, skip.
Starting point is 00:58:11 To be honestly, and there's something that I've never shared. They never, they said, this is over. They said it was over. I'm not fend to argue with you and fight with you. If you don't think I'm good enough to do the job, okay. And then you told me in your dressing room, you absolutely did not want to leave. And that if, in fact, we could revitalize from that point forward, you said, hey, I'm, I'd be good to stay.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Just let me have the podcast. They said, let me think. They said, let us think about it. I don't want to tell you, because they said, let us think about it. I'm going to my attorney's office. I'm going to Marvin's office. When I get there, there's a facts already coming through my termination.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Also didn't mention that it's my turn moment. Yep. It's my turn. So Shannon went on to thank Skip for giving him the opportunity to be on undisputed, crediting him with the success he's had since breaking off, continuing club, Shay-Shay, and Nightcap, with Skip pointing out that the powers that be at Fox Sports shoving Shannon out ended up being the best thing for his career. So Gil, I know you've worked with both these gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Uh-huh. Nightcap, you've got a play. Sometimes. That's not. You was on time, some of the times. Yeah, but one of the, you know. Last year. The reason I targeted all three is when you're talking about,
Starting point is 00:59:35 the best in the business, you have to get under the hood to see what makes them the best, right? Preparation, right? Like, I'm looking through the Instagram, right? I'm, you know, calling them, A, are you up? Like, I wanted to know
Starting point is 00:59:51 what made them as good as they were. And it's crazy because all three are very different. Stephen A is well in that mix. Yeah, Stephen A, yeah. They're all different. different. They all have their own unique way of preparing. They're all very prepared.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Like, you know, when you're talking about, you know, Shannon, you know, everything, like he's going to, he's going to make sure every, like, like, you can't be a second late, right? Like, he needs everything to go perfect, right? It's, it's a well-oiled machine. Like, he's very hardworking. Like, if we're starting that situation. I was on that motherfucker like, five o'clock. Right? Like, you know, making sure everything is right. Like, you know, I don't, you know, he's militant, like football player. Like, you can see, you know, how his body is right now that he's really disciplined in, you know, the things he does, right? Skip, too.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Like, Skip is, you know, he's going to write all his notes down. He's going to make sure he has his talking points. He's going to, you know, be very researching everything he's doing. Right. So even if you think he sounds wrong. He does a lot. He's researched it. Like, he's technically right. It's just in his form.
Starting point is 01:01:16 Like, if he thinks the person sucks, he's going to find out everything. But it'll tell you everything that sucks. Yeah. He's right in what the guy sucks at, right? But, you know, it's just going to be his angle. But they're very great at what, like, Skip, like they'll have a show at 11. Skip here at 9 o'clock. He doesn't drove.
Starting point is 01:01:34 he's going to be in there reading over things going through his routine right and like love sports right like sports is his life like it's it's it's sports then then wife right and it's it's it's it's it's it was it was a pleasure to have to have to to to be with all three like i know i know stephen a test me too i told him i'll wake up at four o'clock i said i wake up at four like i had we had the show at You did first take. 7 o'clock. And I said I wake up at 4 every morning, right? I said by 4.30 I'm already, you know, like doing my research.
Starting point is 01:02:14 I got a call at 4.30 on the dot, right? Him testing to see if I was actually up. I was like, yeah, I pop up. Did you answer his call good? Yes. Because you don't take incoming calls. I was up. I'll be taking for Stephen A.
Starting point is 01:02:31 I know when the test is coming. You don't answer that. You're going to answer that. You're going to answer all. I ain't going to answer all right. That's funny on the line. I text you niggas back. But it's amazing this shit.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Oh, wait. What time did you go to sleep though? Like, you sleep? 12-1? It doesn't matter. No. No. You can't go to sleep at 1 and 1.
Starting point is 01:02:50 That's why I was better than everybody, bro. You take naps, though. You look at the old nigger. You take naps. Like after this, you're taking naps. It's like something I can't control. Like, I'm not a part of my DNA. Like, no matter what time I go to sleep.
Starting point is 01:03:03 I go to sleep, I'm gonna be up around the same time. I'm older kids now. Now this is like even when I was a young kid. Right? Like my dad goes to work at like he did the gray yard shift. And when he left the house, I'll be, you know, on a video game playing. So, what time would this be at? It's easy to take that.
Starting point is 01:03:20 One, two, two a. What time would you go to sleep at? Your room was pitch black, that's why. He had a dark room. I had a dark room. I go to sleep. I go to sleep one two o'clock and I mean back up two hours later. Ready to go.
Starting point is 01:03:31 I'll work up the same time, Mary. I'll wake up at the same time every day, so I get it. Good to have you're gonna. 536. Damn. No alarm, just automatically. I can come in the night before, like you said, three, four in the morning, I'm automatically waking.
Starting point is 01:03:46 That's why I can't do no drug. I already got too much in the gym. You can't tell me y'all not on dope. That's what I'm saying. I can't do it. I'm scared. Crack kids wake up at that time. I ain't on no crack.
Starting point is 01:03:57 I smoke a little bud. That's about you. We are in California, a beautiful state. And they hate when I wake up at 4. Yeah, baby. Stopping on shit, this is open a dope friend. Shower, what's going? I be driving to get some coffee.
Starting point is 01:04:15 Coffee? I'd be having coffee. Coffee and some mother. It's a good morning. I draw 30 minutes for a dollar coffee. You have three coffee machines here just for context. One right over here. One up here.
Starting point is 01:04:25 One up here. Big baby can't catch you at 5 in the morning. He can't catch us. Oh, yeah. You did. Listen to that, hearing about their break up, what's your reaction to Skip? Coming to Club, Shay, shay, talking about the dark side of the sports media game. Fox pushing Shannon Sharp.
Starting point is 01:04:42 And that's why a lot of the companies have fallen off. Because they, this is not the 90s, this is not too early 2000s, where outside opinion matters. You're not selling a product, but the product you are selling is views, is drama. You are in the drama business now, right? So just like you sold the game, then it's no different here, right? Where your best views... Come out. Let's put your glasses on.
Starting point is 01:05:19 What's standing up for? We tuned in to see this back and forth, right? So you get scared, oh, the radio, like, and then you want to. want to let someone go. Right? Those are the decisions that's ruining the companies. And you've got to shut down and you're losing views because you haven't adjusted to the landscape.
Starting point is 01:05:43 Bringing younger people. Old heads, y'all times is over. Like, I'm sorry, your times is over. You just don't understand what's going on. Please go around. The old school mindset. Nobody cares. Nobody cares.
Starting point is 01:05:56 Like, no serious. For real. Sacramento and they meet me. Like, I blame my whole brainwash motherfucker. Yeah, I agree. Like, you see what is getting viewed. So you had this real, like, the two, this was the Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen style. Right?
Starting point is 01:06:13 You're talking about. For real. The Sydney Dean and Billy. Like, so, you know what I mean? Like, so when that happened, that just broke more eyes to the situation. Brun the hand dog, the back on national TV. And you're letting it. letting it go not realizing
Starting point is 01:06:31 what you had. You haven't replaced it. The channel had to be shut down, right? You're losing so much. It's been brought back to life. The whole show, right? Huh? They lost the whole show. Yeah, page and everything. Page is now, I believe, Speak Easy. I've been monitoring such a situation.
Starting point is 01:06:46 Yeah, you know, what's unfortunate for them is speak easy is you have the numbers of the page. The audience could never be yours. That's just not how YouTube works. right, you're better off starting from fresh. So when the algorithm is pushing that channel out,
Starting point is 01:07:06 it's all you. So anyone who's clicking around the world, they're going to be pushing you. That channel itself was built off of whoever built it first. Sounds like other channels that I made. But don't people who give channels to sell them? Yeah, but it doesn't work. It don't work.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Like if they said, if he puts, if speakey's in it, If they put Shannon and Skip on that channel right now, and he did an episode with them two, it would reactivate the page. That episode, and they put Skip and Shannon in the title, the page will get the views that it used to get. So you can't cheat the grind, basically.
Starting point is 01:07:44 You can't cheat the grind. With a YouTube channel especially, right? No, it's just an algorithm. Some people make money off of that, though. Like, people make money, don't hate on this. Don't say, don't hate on that. No, no, no, no. It's just an algorithm thing.
Starting point is 01:07:56 From that situation, I get it. it, but people do do that, though. It does happen all the time, Swaggyzegger. You can't, no, I know, but you can't cheat the girl. You just, you can't unlock, like, it's, it's like a code. Right? It's like, the algorithm is coded and, you know, it's never
Starting point is 01:08:12 going to unlock for the next person. It's just, it's just hampered on. Buying people TikToks and, but I'm, but I'm glad they back, like, I'm glad they had that talk to realize that, you know, they both still wanted to work with each other,
Starting point is 01:08:28 upper management is like, yeah, no, we don't need this type of... That's usually how it go. The business end of this shit will turn your friends against you? You think they can make another show? Yes. Because they're both... Skip and Shannon? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:40 Because they're both... They're both... I think they could. At this point? Right now, they just would have been like what? I'm going to just be honest. I'm going to just be honest with you. Mm.
Starting point is 01:08:52 I think they're going to make something. The three-headed monster get together, that might be some shit we've never seen before. Because remember they never actually all. They never actually worked together. It was replaced. Them three worked together. That would be a very, very different show.
Starting point is 01:09:12 That would be must watch. That's real. That was. Because you're going to have them two against each other, and then Stephen A is just going to figure out. Like, he's the one, he don't need to run down. He's just going to go. He's just going to go mix you up in some shit you don't forgot about these.
Starting point is 01:09:27 And, you know what I mean? That's going to be that. It would be great. Yeah, well, you had the unique perspective work with all three of them, so I thought we would hit that real quick. Shout out to Shannon. Club Shay-Shay on the Playmaker Network as well as Nightcap. So we all on the same crew and same team. But let's keep this thing moving.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Carl Anthony Towns had a lot of critics during his NBA career, including one on this couch here. Hold on, hold on. Yeah, go get the, go get the. Go get the. Yeah, we're talking about town. It's a 22. Sure. So a lot of critics during the NBA career including fans, media, even former teammates.
Starting point is 01:10:04 But after helping deliver a chip to the Knicks ending a 53-year drought, the man known as the big bodega got his get back, talked to his cash shit, sent out a strong message to all of his haters for all the years of disrespect. And Kat's dad, Carl Anthony Towns Sr., echoed those sentiments at one of his son's former teammates. So Jimmy Butler and Kat had a strained relationship during their brief time together with the wolves in parts of two seasons between 2017 and 2018 before Butler was traded to the Sixers. Butler took issue with the wolves giving Kat and Andrew Wiggins contract extensions before him,
Starting point is 01:10:36 demanding a trade shortly before training camp in the 2018-19 season, with Butler famously pulling up to practice for the first time a month after the request, smacking the starters while playing with the wolf's thurs stringers while saying Kat and Wiggins were soft and couldn't win without him. Beef continued in the aftermath of Butler's trade with Jimmy Buckets calling Kat a looom. loser amongst other things. So during the interview with the athletics, John Krasinski, Kat Sr., known as Big Carl, pulled out the receipts,
Starting point is 01:11:03 offering these thoughts on Kat and Jimmy's beef. Carl Sr. said, it only hurt me as a father to hear people saying stuff that was negative, that wasn't true to bring him down. But in the end, it all paid up. Jimmy Butler ain't got no championship. Carl bypassed him. So, Boogie, we will start with you. What's your reaction to Kat's dad?
Starting point is 01:11:23 Is he spinning or two? trip is saying Cat has bypassed Jimmy Butler by winning a trip. I don't think it's the same, but I'm not going to understand where Kat. I got a lot of love for Katz Pop, and Kat himself. But I think it's more so just a father kind of defending his kid. That was a crucial part in, you know, Kat's early career. So kind of stained his name and that part of his career. So I'm sure that's something that he's kind of held on to and his family is held on to.
Starting point is 01:11:55 to a certain point. So I get why his pops is, you know, saying and doing what he's doing. But at the same time, I just think it's two type different situations. You know, you got a, Jimmy Butler was a guy that was leading the team, you know, Carl Anthony Towns, want to chip, you know,
Starting point is 01:12:13 being the help. And I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, but being more of a role player. Not the number one option. He's not the number one option. That was Jalen Brunson. So, yeah, he got a chip, before Jimmy, but the part that I'm, you know, did he surpassed Jimmy or I just think it's two
Starting point is 01:12:33 different type of, you know, scenario. So like I said, I get why he did it, but I don't think it's real, you know, correlation between the two. And, I mean, at the end of the day, you know, cats continue to grow as an individual as a player. He, you know, he's finally got to that point of, you know, winning a championship. But I think it's still more to prove. in his game as an individual. So, you know, just, I think that's more so the focus compared to, you know, what happened with Jimmy and the Timberwolves.
Starting point is 01:13:06 But to answer that question in general, I just don't see the correlation. So, so, uh-oh. Ladies gentlemen, welcome back to Gills Arena. Wow. For real? Chip City. You don't want, okay.
Starting point is 01:13:20 Chim City. Rocking me. Four finger you. Carl Anthony Towns. Chip, chip. And you use it this, you know, this is new. That is. It's got the finals.
Starting point is 01:13:27 It ain't signed those. He's on focus, dude. It ain't signed. Everything else signed in here. Not signed. Not signed. I got you, Gil. Let me get that sign for you.
Starting point is 01:13:35 I got you. Nah, not the way. He just talked about it. Not on Towns. Championship Towns now, baby. Yeah, I hate to give Towns. Cops also has smoke for you too. But he did pass, Jimmy.
Starting point is 01:13:52 Swagg, you feel like running the Towns, So I'll read the quote again since you were busy putting a jersey on. Cass Senior known as Big Carl, I had this to say about Cass beef with Jimmy Butler. He said, it only heard me as a father to hear people saying stuff that was negative, that wasn't true to bring him down. But in the end, it all paid up. Jimmy Butler ain't got no championship. Carl bypassed him. Okay, you can go.
Starting point is 01:14:16 I'm saying that just because Jimmy tried to do the same thing by going to the Warriors. And he actually said he is what number two or a role player for the Warriors or something like that along the lines. His Curry team let Kirby do all that. And Towns played a big part in this New York run. And you're talking about giving him what two something. Looking for an extension? Making more than everybody on the team. Currently the highest paid player on the New York.
Starting point is 01:14:48 Trade him calling himself and all that. And as a dad, I would fight. back for my son because you hate to see your kids just being talked about in a negative light anyway so I got to give town his respect you know through all the stuff I say I thought it was a three you cast pop to your I thought it was a three comments yeah you know he was mad at me I got to give him his his dude you know he's he might get a statue in New York one day, you know.
Starting point is 01:15:25 Carl Anthony Town, statue in New York. I thought to get everybody on that starting five down near a statue. So Gilbert Jay. Gil Jr. Let's move on.
Starting point is 01:15:37 There's a question again. Is Kat's dad spending their trip and saying Cat has bypassed Jimmy Butler by winning a chip? Bypassed her past. Bypassed him as in what? Exactly.
Starting point is 01:15:49 As an NBA career? That is a question for a bit, Carl. Like if they both stopped right now Who would be in front of the other? As a winner However you want to frame it? No, no, no, you got to phrase it a certain way There's only one-
Starting point is 01:16:01 Remember he went to the T-Wills And call everybody ass and soft No, what I'm saying is like If we had to, like, there's going to be like this pole ranking And it's on you as a player In your career Take that jersey off
Starting point is 01:16:18 If you say something, take the jersey off I know you're going to say Jamie just because you got to fight against the championship shit. No, I don't want to fight against the championship shit. We're champions. I'm just saying. We are champions. You are in New York.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Townsend. Yeah, I'm just, I'm done fighting big man. You know what I mean? I'm just like, every big man around the country would have my ass for some reason. But don't the Irish 20 and 10, though? Yeah, yeah, yeah. If they, if their careers end it right now, today, Pops will just be, he will be a little,
Starting point is 01:16:56 awful in timing. Maybe a couple more years. You think so? Yeah. How many all-stars Jimmy got? Six. How many towns got? Six.
Starting point is 01:17:06 And the chip. All-Stars and a chip. Jimmy has five all-N-BAs and five-time all defensive team. Damn. And the steals champ. But who average more? They have about the same amount of points. But rebounds matter, too.
Starting point is 01:17:22 Jimmy average 20 on his career? Let me see. 18. read it on when you're talking about when they're talking about like 18 5 or 4 when they're talking about the the your your accolades 18 5 and 4 yeah aculades you're talking about like making an all-n-bba on both sides of the on both sides of the game cat 23 11 and 3 man fuck come on 13 and 11 6 all stars 50 years 18 that's it come on come on no it's not the points per game that's I'm I'm Stop.
Starting point is 01:17:55 What does all NBA mean? Top 15, right? Right? So Jimmy Butler in his position is top three. He's doing, he's done that five times. And then on the defense event, he's on that list five times. So he's on both sides as a top player. I'm trying to tell you where he would go.
Starting point is 01:18:14 23 and 11 champion, yes. Second option champion. It still was a dub. He still has a dub as a second album. Hey, man, I don't make the fucking rule. I'm just letting you know. Gil, you actually do you are in the media now. Is Jimmy a one?
Starting point is 01:18:28 You're in the media now, good. You get to make the rules. Is Jimmy a one? Jimmy took a team to the finals. But was he that year considered a one? I'm sorry. And he has the Eastern Conference Finals MVP. Was he considered a one still though?
Starting point is 01:18:42 Yes. No, Jimmy going to nobody says. When he took the team to the finals, who was the first option? And he has a most in the award. Two teams of the final. In a position, Towns being a higher, ranked higher in his position than Jimmy in his position. It can be because one is five times all NBA.
Starting point is 01:19:00 All right. Okay. What position he played? Butler, Jimmy. Is it three or two? If he played a three, he got a couple people in front of him. Two? No.
Starting point is 01:19:13 If he's playing a three and if I make 13, there's only two people in front of me. I'm just saying. Who would you say he's in front of him? Of course the two. Then you got Kawhi. That was it. Would you throw LeBron?
Starting point is 01:19:27 At the time when he's making his list, it was only two. It was just them. Brian, KD. Kauai. LeBron was playing the shooting guard, point guard, playing the center, playing the power for. Paul George in that? Brother. Come on, man. Stop.
Starting point is 01:19:39 Brother, we can only go on an award. We can only go with the award, what the award says. I know. And we can go with 23 and 11 in the ring. I get it. So when that award, when we put our accolades, one says we both got six. He has three all NBA's. I got five.
Starting point is 01:19:53 I got a Fields champ, I got an Eastern Conference Finals MVP, I made the all-defense team five times. You have a West Wagon? I got a chip. A championship. A championship. A championship. So your answer is he passed Jimmy?
Starting point is 01:20:06 Mm-hmm. He bypassed Jimmy, brother. What you got to give? Not yet. Like, if they start by now, the voters are having Jimmy in front of him. His body of work has just been better right now. Hell no. Like, but remember, Cat is only, what, 32?
Starting point is 01:20:22 How old is Jimmy? 37. As I said, just a tad bit too early. Cat plays, by the time Kat gets to 37, yes. At the same trajectory, yes. Cat 30 will be 31 in November. Yeah, like, it just ain't been in the league as long. But yes, he will, when he finished his career, he will be in front of Jimmy.
Starting point is 01:20:40 He's already in front. Just don't use the championship. I think it's crazy even. Seven or eight years. Yeah, seven years. Yeah, just don't you have. Because y'all going on all mag, we had them double-n-n-n-up. Comparing a guard for a big.
Starting point is 01:20:52 That's why I was like, there ain't no correlate. But do you understand where cast pops is coming from? All the slander. I understand where it's pops from. The negative thing he dealt with. He said what eight seconds left to go on the finals when he knew it was real.
Starting point is 01:21:04 He was shedding tears and thinking about all the haters or critics. He's been through, yeah. All the shit. Down there killed my son career, though. People saying, yeah. You're down the yes. That day. People saying he was built like a WNBA player.
Starting point is 01:21:15 And they traded Wiggins that same year. And he was never won after that, towns. But that's, again, that's just, that's just an organization that, wait, and he's only 30? Only 30, good. 31 to November. I didn't, I know that. Only, I mean, I'm still trying to figure out why they would have traded him in the first place. They say he's soft, remember?
Starting point is 01:21:48 Should I say it was soft or something like that? They wanted toughness. That's why they're bunk and Julius Ramble. So Cat, I believe, entering his 12th season, Jimmy Butler entering his 16th season. It's just the age. You got seven more years, so you got a little bit more accolades on it. But by the time Cat is done playing, he plays another fact, he'll finish. But calling him a loser saying he didn't impact winning basketball.
Starting point is 01:22:10 I mean, there was more than just... No, I got a chip in New York making cameos on Saturday Night Live with Jalen Brunson. He didn't impact winning basketball? That was what the commentary was around. He's not a winner. Jimmy Butler called him a loser. Yeah, called him a loser. A loser hurt.
Starting point is 01:22:29 I don't care what you say. That word loser hurt. You got. What was his best team? Who? The one with Jimmy, I think they were third in the West. That's what I'm saying. But like I said, it's two different positions.
Starting point is 01:22:50 That's why it hurt. But that's why it hurt. Now I see. His best team. before the Knicks was with Jimmy. Yeah, so if I'm here losing and then you come over here and you have this winning spirit and we win
Starting point is 01:23:02 and then you call me a loser after you leave. You're basically telling everybody like there's something under the hood here. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, man. Can we pull it up? That was a good thing. But that year, the West was crazy. Man, first three years, 82 all game,
Starting point is 01:23:17 82 every year? Yeah, that was. That's what made the playing start, right? So they tied somebody and... What's all? 18th season, they were 47 and 35. And they was tied with somebody, right? Finish, I believe, fourth, or eighth in the eighth.
Starting point is 01:23:33 Yeah, so that's what made the playing. Hold on, the Timberwolves. Yeah, that's what made the playing. But Jimmy got hurt. Yeah. And then they ended up, before Jimmy got hurt that year, they were third in the West. Jimmy got hurt and then they dropped. But then 18, 19, after Jimmy dipped, they were 36 and 46, so I can understand.
Starting point is 01:23:49 And then proceeded to be. That's when they got Ant, man. Asked the next two years after that, we're able to obviously acquire. Oh, well, no. He went to the conference fund. Yeah, you can't say that. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:00 That was his best team besides Jimmy. But then he got traded the next year. Yeah. I don't understand. He got traded because they said he was sold. He's only $30. Who did they lose to to get to? I'm still stuck at $30.
Starting point is 01:24:14 Huh? Who did they lose to? Dallas? In their conference? Dallas. Yeah, Dallas. Oh, and he didn't really. He didn't play that well.
Starting point is 01:24:24 I remember that. Yeah. He didn't play that well, y'all. Yeah, he was stuck in that West. Oh, yeah. I mean, oh, he didn't make all NBAs because, and all starts because of hurt. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:42 I mean, he had the year every 27, but only played 30-some games. Yeah, it's just injury. Every time he was actually healthy, he made all for him. Yeah. Because it was, at one point, and B, him and Joker, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so he's in the finish.
Starting point is 01:24:57 finished with 10 all-stars, probably about six all-NBAs. Huh? Who? Towns. Are you played against me? Yeah. I'm about like sack days. No, no, he didn't come in.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Oh, you did? Oh, you came in the league, 2015, 16? Oh, shit. No one over and overall pick, so. Yeah, he didn't leave that long? Mm-hmm. He'll finish better. I mean, he'll finish.
Starting point is 01:25:22 But I'll ask you this. Guy brings to the next point. Does Jimmy Butler deserve more credit for taking Yes. To the finals twice as the first option that CAD does from winning the ring. Absolutely. Think about it. Does he deserve more credit?
Starting point is 01:25:37 Yeah. Yeah. And it wasn't like they were a top team in the East when he did it. You do it as a believe in the eighth seed? Yeah. Both years were like... I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:25:50 I don't know. You don't get credit for taking anybody to the... No, no, no, no, no. Credit. If we do, let's have a... Do we get more credit in towns? That's what it is. So you don't get as much credit as being the first option
Starting point is 01:26:04 taking the team to the finals than the guys. Sorry, Team 2. A role player and wins the championship. Took a fifth seed to the finals, 15th seed in the east of the finals in the COVID year. That east during that year. A-Ced to the finals, 22, 23, the Los Angeles.
Starting point is 01:26:18 The hardest championship. You know what's so funny. They both did something. How about I say? That wasn't expected. That wasn't expected. Yeah, you trade me and nobody went to. Nobody expected Miami to be in the chip those two years.
Starting point is 01:26:33 Right? Like, so he don't get enough credit for those. Right, I remember when people was talking about Miami might win. I'm like, nigga, that's an AAU team. Right. You remember I said that's an AAU team. They're going to get swept. NBA, they're going to probably give them one.
Starting point is 01:26:47 It's going to be a gentleman sweep. That's how bad they are. Right. Same thing with Miami against Lakers. I said, you got no chance to win it. That is, this is irrelevant. Y'all are just there. Y'all are the OKC of LeBron's first championship.
Starting point is 01:27:03 You got to give them credit. Y'all just there, right? Now, Kat, you get traded to New York. They didn't really want you there. They thought you was too soft when you got there. And then they were trying to do that whole Janish getting traded there. Your name is getting traded. And you had a house.
Starting point is 01:27:24 And you had, yeah, you had to really, like, sucking your pride to fit in to win a championship, no one even phantom starting that season off with. Right? So the fact that the championship was won because you sacrifice, right? Like, we're going to, Brunson gets his credit, right? Because you need a lead horse, but you also need someone to sacrifice to make it all work. So that's a big step because a lot of people, a lot of guys can't do it
Starting point is 01:27:58 and the team's greatness gets broken up because of it. But first season with the Knicks, average 24 and 13, they go to the conference finals, lose their pace. Yep, and he did what? He took a back seat. Average 20 and 12 the next season
Starting point is 01:28:11 this past season in the regular season. Tricing the postseason as well. What was his playoff numbers both years? I'm right there on it. I got you. 21 and... 21 and 12. 21 and 12.
Starting point is 01:28:29 You see conference? 16 and 10. For the playoffs itself. 21 and 12 and then last year, 16 and 10. In the finals? Let me pull it up for you. Finals, he had some big games, though. He has some big hat.
Starting point is 01:28:43 But also didn't score a lot in the four-quarter. That's a big half. He average 13 and 11 in the finals. What I thought. The finals average average like 13. Yeah, because, yeah. All in the first. first three-quarter.
Starting point is 01:28:55 You know, it's only had two points in the game clincher. No, I'm not. They can't go around him no more. The town's family ain't going to have you in the house, though. Who don't? The town's daddy. Nah. The town's, there ain't no smoke with me.
Starting point is 01:29:07 What's so funny is? 13 and what? In the whole playoffs, in the whole playoffs, he was only a minus one time. That was the last game. Minus four. I think he only had two points in rebows in that. Damn, you're trying to get on the good side.
Starting point is 01:29:21 I ain't never heard. Yeah, you did previously make some comments. commentary about cathode it seems like you're trying to that plus minus shit so stupid no no no no no because it's just no no no because it's just so they just stood the fucking a stat line of goose eggs no plus 41 like get the fuck no i'm just saying because you what you're you're looking at and I'm like all right oh damn he only had two points nobody noticed that nobody noticed you had two points because obviously bunch it was going to sting so um I mean there damn it was and then it was a minus four and then you look up and like oh shit that was the only minus he had that whole that whole uh playoff but
Starting point is 01:29:55 Speaking on the Jimmy's situation, I think that's what I was talking about with, and I hate to bring that up, like, the T-MAC thing. I think, like, your greatness is supposed to do that at least once or twice out your career. If you're healthy. Get you out the first round, bro. Yeah, get you, like, you're supposed to be able to carry yourself out the first round. Your greatness should. That's what I was talking about, like Jimmy did.
Starting point is 01:30:18 Even though, y'all forget about Bam. Y'all talk about Miami. You think, bam, man, my... Them going to be number one now. So you forget about, bam, he was on that team, too. But Jimmy personally, like, carried the team over the hump. At some point in your career, I say your greatness is supposed to do it. If you're healthy, yes, you can do that.
Starting point is 01:30:40 Yeah, you should. If you're a healthy, if you're a healthy guy, you can't, you can't pretend someone is actually healthy and playing, and they failed. Like, that's just like saying, oh, Zion ain't got out of the playoffs, but he's hurt at the end of the season every year. It ain't because he was healthy. You know what I mean? It's like they acting like he played all 82 games and then the nigga was just trash all year and they was just...
Starting point is 01:31:03 How many excuses he got, though? Not excuses. It's the real. Use the context. Anybody can create a negative. You can find negative in anything and you can create a narrative based on that. That's the easiest shit to do.
Starting point is 01:31:16 But once you bring the context into it, it tells a whole other story. But was I hurt getting to the playoffs that I got my team in a third spot and all that? Yeah, the year Lakers went to the championship. But when I get there, I'm hurting because I lose in the first round. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:31:34 I played down there in 70-some games, 80 games. 06, 47 games. Like, he had a bad bag. Like, I mean, what he wants somebody to do? And then it's the same shit that ended his career. Like, yeah what I mean, right? Y'all mean, I got my Kobe and I got my got my shack with me, right? I got, you know, Tracy and Yao.
Starting point is 01:31:57 Y'all. If I'm hurt, I didn't say. You know, I'm hurt. Listen, y'all played. If I'm hurt, I can't say stuff. Y'all played 57 games, 48 games, 55 games. 77 games, the niggas done. That's the end of his career.
Starting point is 01:32:09 I can't say stuff at the time. So this is my second best player that I'm counting on that is a dominant force in the league in his foot. He's done. He's done. Why does, why do we do that, though? Like, certain guys, you're too talented to never make it, but then the guys that we consider great when they don't make it, it's a pass. That's what I...
Starting point is 01:32:34 While we keep doing this shit, bro, like, it applies to everybody. Can't nobody go out on the court and do it by themselves. It's impossible. I don't give a fuck how good you are. You got to have a team with you. It really just depends what the perception is around that players. Yeah. And that's exactly what it is.
Starting point is 01:32:51 Some players get passes. Some players are expected. Yokhers won the ring. And what? Last year was 23. He hasn't been passed the second round since. Ain't nobody saying,
Starting point is 01:33:02 oh, but he's so great. Maybe his team ain't where it was the last year they won it. It's the same thing. And it ain't because of him. And like, you know, we are watching Yokic,
Starting point is 01:33:15 we're watching Yonis, we're watching the owners move wrong pieces around. But it's the star player's fault. because he's too good. Like, stop, bro. Stop. It's five players on the floor.
Starting point is 01:33:29 You need five. You need a bench. You need a good coach. You need a good GM. You need all of it. You need an owner that's bought in. You need all of these things in place to get to the promise name. But the moment Tracy and Grady can't get past the first, oh, he ain't good.
Starting point is 01:33:47 Like, what? You know the one thing that I, it's like it has this, this. There's horrible stain on it where they say, right? He just, he just don't care. He didn't play hard enough. The person averaged 33. Like, you know what type of workout in summer programs these people got to go through the conditioning? What did Kirby, what did, what year?
Starting point is 01:34:15 What year did they make that? Because if we use him, because everyone watched him. Right. What year was it when he averaged 30? comeback is a comeback player of year but they didn't make the playoffs what year was that? 23 24
Starting point is 01:34:30 that was after they lost no that's 19 or 20 or something 23 24 comeback player the year right he has 26 right team sucked oh
Starting point is 01:34:42 right the 23 24 season right I thought that was after a clay guy no a comeback player the year was 22 23 okay they won it 25 No, 23, 24. Oh, wait, he finished 9, my bad. Well, CTO-wise, right.
Starting point is 01:34:58 23-24, you're right. Right? So, yeah, 23-24, they didn't make the playoffs. Average 26. Right? 106. No one quite, we watch how hard that was for. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:22 NBA. That means top about the top five in his position all time. Like, so when you're saying, oh, he didn't do enough. Like, I didn't do enough. Like, when I did, when I finally had the team that was going to be there, we all got hurt.
Starting point is 01:35:39 Right, Lakers went to the championship. We took them to game seven. They didn't have, we didn't have me nor yow. The one and the two option is gone off this series. They take a team to game seven. Right?
Starting point is 01:35:52 I mean, you know, so when they had the team, let's do this, it just got hurt. When Kobe had the Dynasty team, when everybody's, oh, yeah, they're about the sweet- -un-al-law, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, the other one. When Dwight came and Steve Nash, what happened? Same thing that happened with Gary. Got hurt. Dwight can't play, he's hurt. Steve Nash is hurt, right?
Starting point is 01:36:19 They can't play. That team wasn't going to win. Shee, you crazy. He's eating ass and Dwight? He crazy his head. But it was hurt. He was healthy, though. No, he wasn't.
Starting point is 01:36:27 He wasn't. He wasn't. He played, but he wasn't healthy. He just got off the back surgery. He could move up and down like that. But what I'm saying is, what stopped that, that team is he got hurt. Right? You can't, you can't fault that team.
Starting point is 01:36:40 Oh, on paper, this is the team you had. Like, no, no, no. You got to go look. They was heard. All that, you know. But at the end of the day, you can't say stuff, too. Why can't he? I know what you're about to say.
Starting point is 01:36:53 Oh, finally about to get out the first round then. I'm not hurt then. You make Tashon Prince a Hall of Famer. I'm not hurt then. Like, nobody knows who Tashon Prince, where he's a Hall of Famer now. But what I'm saying is he was a part of a great team. Well respected him. I'm not hurt at that moment in time.
Starting point is 01:37:09 He doesn't get 42 on you, 47. He was a part of a great team. I'm just saying. If I'm hurt. But I'm not hurt then. I don't want to say. I don't want to say. But what I'm saying is I'm not hurt.
Starting point is 01:37:20 When I'm making no statements, nigga, what am I? average it in this series. 31. There's great defense to team. They can't stop me. So I can't hear it after I say it. You got, yes. Just move around.
Starting point is 01:37:34 Bro, you're talking about the series that Detroit versus what's the name, right? He played all seven games. He had 43. Remember, they were to APC. Reports, they're going to get swept. 43 and 7, 46 and 5, 29 and 7, 27, 27, and and nine, 19 and 8, 37, and 11, and then 21 and 6. Yeah, the game we had, nine.
Starting point is 01:38:01 That's when Tayshan first came, man. Yeah, keep going. No, no, no, no, 27, nine assists. Oh, I thought you said nine. I'm like, what? And nine assists. Right? Now his team, he got a young Drew Gooden, second year, Jacques Vaughn.
Starting point is 01:38:16 The legend. Gordon. Like the, three players on this team. Three, me, let me. Nobody was saying. Nobody was saying Tayshan Prince and all of them was good that he stopped. Brother, they were the... By the time Chonsie Bullets got there, he was already traded from four different teams.
Starting point is 01:38:32 Who? Bro. Richard Hamilton. So what... Tashon Prince was young. He was two years in, too. If one is an eighth seed, what the... What seed do you think the other one is?
Starting point is 01:38:43 A one seed, correct? One is an eighth seed, one is a one seed. Sounds like they handled their business. They did what a one seed is supposed to do. It was no different like Orlando. Like Orlando. They still didn't stop Trace McGrady from being great. He still went and dropped multiple 40s on it.
Starting point is 01:39:00 Like, that's the point I'm making. Context matters and the team matters. The first couple games. Now, let me tell you what this F. The rest of the team looked like. Oh, my God. Starting point guard. Two shots.
Starting point is 01:39:14 No, no, no. So you can understand. So we can see how hard this game could have been for a man like him. Starting point guard took two shots that game. Starting shooting guard took two shots that game The Jock Vaughn took three shots that game The starting five took a total of six shots or six threes Tracy McGrady took all six of those threes
Starting point is 01:39:34 He was three for six They had a total of five threes That means somebody on the bench Two people on the bench So can I read off I hate the... No, no no so you can read off Now can I ask you something
Starting point is 01:39:46 I don't know what you're in this team Three players on this team What was the second highest average? in the series. It would have probably been Drew Goodton. Which was what? It was the only two people that had double digits. He had 18 points.
Starting point is 01:39:58 This was the first game. All right. Now, can I give another example? The rest of my team is 2-4-2-25-4. Like, what did that? Come on. Can I get another? It was an F.C.
Starting point is 01:40:09 Who did LeBron have on his team when he whipped your ass? And it was you, Karin, and everybody else. You had three people averaging 20. You had LeBron. You had Damon Jones. Y'all lost two games. No, David Jones didn't play. Booby Gifton, Drew Good.
Starting point is 01:40:24 See, now, now. If you're going to talk facts, if you're going to talk fast. Don't just make other. I'm just saying. Who was on the scene? Who was on the scene? What you think? Would you consider you, Karan Buller, Antoine Jammerson,
Starting point is 01:40:37 better than everybody besides LeBron on that team? Hell yeah. All right thing. That's what I'm talking about. The music you love. Your favorite radio stations. Everywhere you go. The podcasts, everyone's talking about.

We were no H-T. But that's what, look at LeBron. It's the one C, like we was a four-five.
Starting point is 01:44:48 Why do we make a excuse me? We was a four-five C. It's a four-five C. It's a four-five. That's a matchup. But the same type of team. You're overlooking the context again. No. There's four or five.
Starting point is 01:45:00 Four or five. That's what the excuse. Cleveland won first of all, they was in front of it. I just thought they won 50 games that year. Look at, name their team. 50 games. Just name their team. Then name AI team after that.
Starting point is 01:45:14 If you're going to bring up teams, you want to throw everybody else on his team under it. But name they team. 50 games. Who was on his second option with Booby Gipsy. They want who? LeBron. When they beat us? That's when they went to the Spurs.
Starting point is 01:45:27 They played the Spurs and the championship. When they beat us, it was like Larry Hughes would have been there. Came off the damn bench. Larry, I know. Larry Hughes and Gowskis was an all-star, like what I mean? Stop! So now, what you're going to say about the Gowskis? I better stop.
Starting point is 01:45:44 He was good, but he was old then. Come on, stop. He was an all-star when LeBron was there. Not when they went to the finals of you. Man, stop, please. I don't know when it was a lot. I was hurt. I was hurt.
Starting point is 01:45:53 When did they go to the finals? 07. I was hurt. That's not my year. They swept you guys. You didn't play that year? No, I didn't play that year. Well, I know they beat you a couple times.
Starting point is 01:46:03 I wasn't there that year. That was the year. That was the year before. And that was the first time he got in in three games. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, one moment. You know you were not there? I know I wasn't there.
Starting point is 01:46:15 You did not play? That's right. The first year then. Then you played. Yeah. Yeah. But what's on that team, though? I just told you the team.
Starting point is 01:46:26 Hold on. Let's pull it up. So every great player is supposed to make the playoffs. No, they're great and they're supposed to show at least once or get them out the first round. And if not, they're not great in your eyes? Is that what you're saying? That's what the nigga's saying.
Starting point is 01:46:43 I need you to answer this. I'm not talking about injuries. I'm not even. I'm talking about the great players. If they don't. individually care their team because of their individual talent. That we put up in that statute, yes. So is it a year by year thing or this is just a stamp thing?
Starting point is 01:47:01 You had you, Anton Jammer, so do you think Steph is great? The 2005-sixth is it. Yeah, that's what it's it. All averaging damn near 20, you average 34 in that series against the test. Do you know what LeBron average in that series? Do you think Yolk is great? 36.
Starting point is 01:47:16 He's missed the playoffs. Do you think Yonis is great? But they're great in the playoff too. great. But they greatness are you think Janus is great. Yeah. He's missed the playoffs.
Starting point is 01:47:25 But their greatness showed that they got there. That's what I'm saying. At some point in your career, your greatness is supposed to get you over the other. I'm not saying you're supposed to be great every, I'm not going to win every year. But at some point you're supposed to get up.
Starting point is 01:47:37 The years they did win, they had great teams. So why didn't they win? Great teams. No, what I'm saying is, Yonis has played the majority of the season. Yonis just played the motor season. They didn't win these championships.
Starting point is 01:47:49 Why? What happened? They traded off these pieces. The pieces that helped him win got paid. They had to move those pieces. The weapons he had before, he didn't have them no more. Now I'm talking about you need other guys now. You've always said that.
Starting point is 01:48:04 You just said that. I thought we disrespected all the corner. I thought we disrespected all the other people. I said history does. Like now I'm going back to these people. So we need them now. So in order to win a championship, you need a good team. Every team needs a good team.
Starting point is 01:48:16 Simple as that. It ain't never been no one-man show championship. This even makes it worse. Hey, the second best player or Orlando that year in the playoffs was Drew Goodnevers his rookie season. And what did he average? 14. Oh, come on. Swagger.
Starting point is 01:48:32 What are we talking about? He was the same person on LeBron team. Rookie season. He wasn't a rookie. He's a rookie. He has a list with Bronn. He's a rookie. Which means how good do you think the team is if my rookie is the second best player or my rookie is the second person that I got.
Starting point is 01:48:51 to count on. I have three people that can't shoot the ball on the court. Oh, my God. The one, two, and the three, the one, two, and the four, one, two, and the five, they can't shoot a lick. They won't shoot a lick. That means I'm getting quadruple team. I mean, third option, nine, nine, six, four, three.
Starting point is 01:49:10 Like, I didn't you're supposed to. I see why they were supposed to get swept. They took them, and I asked this question, I said, hey. Technically, they weren't supposed to make the playoffs. I asked this question, and they said, they said, it's changed. even though it's the same outcome. I said, you know what? You're supposed to get swept.
Starting point is 01:49:29 They took it to game seven. Why they don't get credit for that? And it was like, well, they were up 3-1. I said, yeah, but they wasn't supposed to be up 3-1. It was supposed to get 0-4, but they pushed it to seven games. Right. So does the context of how they lost matter, or they took it like, why don't they get credit
Starting point is 01:49:48 for winning three games they didn't supposed to get? Okay, because it was up 3-1. I mean, I'm like, eh. Right.
