That big ass earpiece back in the day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Welcome to T-Mobile. Welcome to T-Mobile tonight. If you can already tell, it's going to be a production.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. I'm going to be a production. back in the day very yeah welcome to mobile welcome to mobile tonight if you can already tell it's gonna be a productive day here in the arena
Starting point is 00:08:30 so let's get into it most hoopers dream of reaching the nba but all that glitters ain't gold nick recently you posed a question to your followers on twitter can we read it this time we got it we thought so time. Can we read it? We got it. We got it. So you asked them... In France today. Did y'all get it? Don't look at it like that. He was cleaning his eyes.
Starting point is 00:08:50 He said, what y'all think is the hardest thing NBA players have to deal with outside of basketball? You presented a poll which is still live until 7.24 PM tonight with three options. Woman. So women are currently leading the list. Woman. Not women. One woman. You know what I mean. One woman. Woman so women are currently You know what I meant. One is so close to none. No, one is so close to none. But they got the answer wrong. It could be one woman fucking your life. It could be one woman. You know what I meant.
Starting point is 00:09:28 So you know you're right. One woman fucking your life. You know what I mean. You called me brother Nottie, so I'm going to point it out. Yeah. What's up? It says woman. Woman.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Singular. Literally half the votes. Family came in second with 39% of the votes and the block they grew up in came in third. Damn. With 13%. Well since we got a couch full of former NBA hoopers and one current WNBA hooper, I need to know in your expert opinions what's the hardest thing NBA hoopers have to deal with outside of basketball? Yeah, come on. Feel it. Honestly?
Starting point is 00:10:08 Yeah, you got that wrong. Honestly, paying for anybody else. For anybody? Anything. Yeah. Like, if I have to spend my money on anything else besides what I want to spend it on. Your friends on the block. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Do you notice that people's tastes get more expensive when they're with you? Like, if you go to Applebee's, are they ordering the ribeye now instead of just the skillet? Just spending money on other people. Nah. It come with it, man. You got to understand, man. It come with it. When you got people with you, they going to adopt the taste that you got.
Starting point is 00:10:38 They want to eat where you at. They going to do what you doing. They want to dress how you dress. Yes, that's my brand, though. And then you don't want them around you cuz it's like they have tier level lower than you you like a bro You can't go with me like that, bro. Let's go get this go get this shit, man Let's go put me put you in you put you on game. Oh, just go get him a job But then he not the homie no more why he ain't here he working he's the homie
Starting point is 00:11:07 Your homie is building his own resume that That's, that's, yeah, baby. He working. He ain't working for you. He not around you no more because he working. So why does that make him not your friend anymore? He ain't there all the time. When we was coming up, when we was coming up, the homies that we needed, we needed them around all the time.
Starting point is 00:11:20 All my friends have jobs. For sure. And are doing the wrong things. Because you don't take this the wrong way. No, I know me. I don't get it. But it's like having your job that you have you can take care of fucking Lexi Right, but but you but not to the right exactly you do not buy friends cars Right, so this is the thing like with us, right? It's unfortunate, but it's the thing that we see in what we are, right? In our core, we are givers, right? Some of us, not everybody, right?
Starting point is 00:11:53 To a fault. Yeah. I can look at my situation that I came up from, right? And the dudes I had around and stuff like, yeah, to his point. If we go to the mall, i got a convicted felon with me what job can he go get right we all know it so i got to convince one of my partners is convicted felon he moved out of dallas because he knew he was going to get in trouble moved him out to denver with me and he did i go to the mall right so some right. I go to the mall, right? Some shit, but I go to the mall.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I'm not going to buy him the exact thing that I get, but I'm not going to have him walking around looking homeless, and I got on $3,000 worth of fucking clothes. You know what I'm saying? That's just not what I'm going to do. I ain't saying you got to go out and buy, I'm going to buy you Louis saying I ain't saying you got to go out and buy I'm about you Louis this do it and I would
Starting point is 00:12:48 Shimpo low joints look night. I'm gonna have you but If this means to buy you a few pair of Jordans have on your feet, I know nigga like Jordan It ain't no sweat off my back. It's the home there for me to do that for some like But can you real Jordans or team Jordan? Whatever He's the homie. But can you real Jordans or team Jordans? No. Whatever they got. We wouldn't buy no knockoffs. We wouldn't buy no knockoffs. If he goes and does something else, he's not the homie. Team Jordans.
Starting point is 00:13:10 No, he's not the homie like we the homies. But I had another partner, though. So I had another partner that was around. He consistently, he wasn't a felon, was in the Navy before. He consistently had a job. Like, we kicking it. He doing all the shit we doing, but he got get up and fucking go to work at 6.30. Right. But he made the choice to go out with us
Starting point is 00:13:27 and kick it and stuff like that. Yeah. It's situations. Everybody's shit is different, right? But for us, I ain't saying it's expected, but it is expected. To a certain degree. It's an unsaid
Starting point is 00:13:43 expectation for us to... I don't't know who's on the show, like you said before, like, it's the, we made it. Right? It ain't, Nick didn't make it. We made it. When everybody have a problem, you're the guy they always come through to get them out of it. Because everybody's problem is financial. Because everybody's problems that we grew up with
Starting point is 00:14:08 and around is financial. I don't think it's that. It's the leadership. We the leaders. You go to the leader. No, you become that. Once you, once David Stern called my name. You become the leader.
Starting point is 00:14:19 I became the leader of whoever I was around. Right? But if you don't become the leader, when you don't give no more. That nigga ain't shit. Right, right, because that's a bad leader in their eyes. Because you're looking at the expectation of what he's setting up. He's setting up the, man, I'm doing everything, right?
Starting point is 00:14:36 You're looking at me like, all right, you need to get me out of this situation. Why are you looking at me? Because you the leader. You're the only nigga that can get me out of this situation. Because most of the situations find out, but they come to you with business plans and certain things, all this other shit that, it's just, it's a lot, right? Are you the leader because you're the leader, though,
Starting point is 00:14:54 or are you the leader because you have the bread? You're the leader because you have the bread, and they see you as the best. What if you got another really good, even if you had a really good job? What company you know that, the leader is the CEO of that mother, right? He's the owner's CEO.
Starting point is 00:15:07 He's making the most bread. So he's always looked at as that, the problem solver. If anything goes on within the company, it's going to fall on the owner's desk, right? He's always looked to solve the problem, right? Go down and say it. We are the company, right? We're the company. So if there's a problem, it lands on our desk, whether we solicit it or company, right? We're the company, so if there's a problem,
Starting point is 00:15:29 it lands on our desk, whether we solicit it or not, right? And that's why, dude, he's so hard to get in contact with. No shit. Why do you think professional athletes change their fucking number so much? It's just... This ain't no one getting income calls. Yeah, just... He ain't the only one any kind of calls. Yeah, so just... He ain't the only one.
Starting point is 00:15:46 I know a couple people, like, they phone, like, he just can't call for that reason. Yeah. I tried to call you the other day, Gil, just to tell you how much I appreciate it. I text this nigga. If he want to call you back, he'll call you, he'll text you.
Starting point is 00:15:59 It's like a beeper. It's like a beeper. Old school beeper. Old school beeper. Right? 9-1-1, Gil. He'll get stronger to talk to you, Dan. He'll drug dealing his friendship for sure. He's drug dealing his friendship to people for sure.
Starting point is 00:16:12 He's picking shoes who he called back. And it's on red for two weeks. I ain't got it yet. I ain't got it yet. My nigga busy, man. I just seen him though. But let me ask you this. So how many homeboys have you cut off? Or But let me ask you this. So,
Starting point is 00:16:26 how many homeboys have you cut off? Or, let me ask you this. So, so it's two ways to look at it. Hold on. You,
Starting point is 00:16:34 you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm glad you got my phone ring. I took the words right out of my mouth. And that's, and that's the way
Starting point is 00:16:42 they gonna look at it. Everybody else might look at it, right? You didn't do nothing to them. They cut themselves off look at everybody else might look at it, right? You didn't do nothing in They cut itself because it's up all the time, right? We never cut nobody up It's all activities behavior that you respond to what people you fall all right or you jump off the ship you jump Yeah, bro, you cool. It was got a little rocky. You're saying you wanted to stir the ship, but we I said man It's my shit man. I'm doing I'll let you let you sail when you sail, bro But when I'm selling chill right sale
Starting point is 00:17:10 I think it's jump shit Is it hard to find like loyalty friends though when you make it like loyal friends and loyal anything? No niggas ain't got it with you. It's not you got it's hard to dictate whether somebody's gonna act different when they get it Yeah, so they all looking at you like I can't wait to see what that feel like. A good person is a good person, I feel, right? Yeah, nah. Yeah, it is, but how often do all you guys come across that person, right?
Starting point is 00:17:34 Yeah. People who I grew up with, who I thought was, like, they's not that, right? I wouldn't hear what you about to say. Me? Yeah. I mean, you didn't have friends. No, he just... No, from the question, I mean, we've answered it. It's not what they say, right?
Starting point is 00:17:50 They said, what? Women. Women. It's family and friends. Family and friends. Family and friends is the worst part of being a pro because you become everyone's savior. You're Superman now, right?
Starting point is 00:18:03 So instead of you focusing on what you need to focus on, you're too busy worrying about this, this, this, this, this, this, this. What are they going to think if you do that? If you go back and look at all your finances, your finances are spent mostly on your friends and family, right? Girls is, right? They're there. For some.
Starting point is 00:18:22 For some. For some. Some of these are out here. Big trick For some. I mean, no. Some of these out here. Big tricking. No, no, no. But big tricking is still, that's here and there. But if you calculated all and you say all the women you done tricking on, but all the family, like the family one is, you can cut a woman off fast as shit and get a new one.
Starting point is 00:18:40 It's hard to get a friend that you grew up with from fifth grade You so he's gonna drag you down the longest because you don't want to cut that friend off Right. So most of your friends you sitting there knowing what they're doing. You still are you looking the other way? Yeah, right So for us, it's more friends and family than it will be women. I'm be honest, but when they catch up I think in the long run because it's like lump sums. It's bigger lump sums. Like if you get in some shit, you gotta give them up. But that's not the everyday draining. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:19:11 It's not that the everyday draining. You're doing my lump sums. But that's not the everyday draining. Lump sums here, lump sums there. But it's not the everyday. They're saying, what's the worst? These lump sums, once in the blue moon, or just consistent? Every month.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Every month. It's going out every month. Ah, shit, Seth. Damn, it's like, is these niggas in a blue moon or just consistent. Or the consistent everything. Every month. No, every month. It's going out every month. Every month. Ah, shit, Seth. Like, damn. It's like, is these niggas in a group chat? Family's just taking it. Family's just be taking this shit.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Don't want to kill you. You be sitting there like, all right, OK. Can I get some money? Can I borrow some money? Can I buy like, how the fuck are these? I found some money in your drawer the other day. I found some money in your drawer the other day. Can I borrow some money, nigga?
Starting point is 00:19:39 You going to give it back? No, see, that's the thing. I just want to sell it. Right. That's when you borrow something, you got to get it back. See, once you started with that, like, I just, I just You gonna give it back? No, see, that's the thing. Right. That's when you borrow something,
Starting point is 00:19:47 you gotta give it back. See, once you started with that, so, dude, if you asking to borrow, you already behind. Yeah. So when you gonna catch up
Starting point is 00:19:55 to be able to give me my money back? So don't say borrow. Yeah, just straight up ask for it. Just ask for it. I need it. Yo, just ask for it.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Yo, I think the perfect person who did it the right way, well, not perfect, but I mean, it has its ups and downs, but I for it. Yeah, I think the perfect person who like who did it the right way Well, not perfect, but I mean it has its ups and downs, but I think Ron. Yeah, I think Ron is like the example It wasn't his friends Yeah, like you that's what I'm saying the homies when you say the homies you just talk about people just kicking it But you as a professional athlete that you should find people who who not entitled to and actually want to but that's what they're in Those the guys he like Richie Paul them. they wasn't his friends he grew up with.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Right? So he didn't have friends that was leeching on him. When they met, right, you're talking about Maverick, Damien Reynard Forso on the basketball team. Like, yo, I protect him. That's all that, man. Richie Paul used to sell jerseys, right? Yep. yep.
Starting point is 00:20:45 He realized he was smart. Right, so these guys came together with one thing in mind. We need to build. So it wasn't friends coming in just leeching like we all made it. It's like, oh, shit, what do I need to do to stay around? What do I need to do? Like, I see something in you I need to build with you. So, you know, that's very, very different. Like, when you so those because you know that's very very different
Starting point is 00:21:05 Like when you look at my control who's my control to friends Who's all these friends? Who's made me with his wife? I mean Kobe had his wife You meet him, but you've been when you're an NBA right so you're not talking about childhood friends. Where's who is Tiger Woods friends? All right I think about all the greats know what I I'm just saying, you don't need friends. I'm just saying. But that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:21:28 So they don't fall under friends and family because the majority of them got cut off because they didn't come with them. The guys who get hurt is they came in with the entourage themselves, and then from there, it trickles off. Right? It's hard to have you coming in from, what, college, junior high, to have your same friends. Because your friends are seeing you do stuff for others that you don't do for them. Right. Think about it. You get a new girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:21:57 It's hard to keep friends regularly. You buy the girlfriend a Birkin bag. This nigga's still, you know. Where my Birkin at? Yeah, he's still looking at this broken down shit. You see, you get rid of her. You get a new girlfriend. Birkin bag this nigga still you know He see you you get rid of her you get a new girlfriend you done bought her diamonds and stuff He still ain't got none. He starts to grow envious Right. Yep Did you guys notice that in your own life where people that you came up with whatever they started to resent you for your success? Yeah, for sure. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:26 They hide it. We weren't around. I wasn't around. They said we ain't around. I wasn't around. I had a certain crew of people that was around for the most part. Gangs and stuff, though.
Starting point is 00:22:42 What? The gangs. We don't got no gangs in the valley, baby. We don't got no gangsta Well, that's the problem too for yeah More more in a member for now No, just more inner-city type of you know when you come from the inner city and you got the hood They'd be like help the block right help the block. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you know that's another problem. Did you experience, but that's considered That's part of family and friends Master McKay I Honestly had a different experience
Starting point is 00:23:19 By your family and friends and and and even the block it wasn't Women family friend family friends in the block, it wasn't... Women, family, friends in the block was never really the issue. It was politics. It was the coaching. It was the transition. I said outside of basketball. But it is.
Starting point is 00:23:39 The politics. Coach is still part of the basketball. I mean, it's still understanding how to talk and do business. Understanding the business side. Even the financial aid side still understanding how to talk and do business. Understanding the business side. Even the financial aid side. Like I got robbed my rookie year. That wasn't family and friends.
Starting point is 00:23:51 You know what I'm saying? That was trust. You know what I'm saying? Politics. But was that somebody you thought was a friend? Obviously you thought it was a friend. No, it wasn't even somebody. I was hiring somebody that was selling me on a game.
Starting point is 00:24:02 You know, black woman wanted to be in the financial aid space. So... Well, for those who haven't seen the... That's all you have to say, right? So, ladies, you know, you've been asking the question, you got the answer. The one he trusted robbed his ass. For sure.
Starting point is 00:24:19 So he says to nobody for life. For sure. No, no, no. But no, serious, like when someone has all of us. You have a hatred for something, there's always a reason. No one ever asks why. You just want to be like, oh, this is this fancy. You don't like this?
Starting point is 00:24:36 No, I love everybody. Motherfucker robbed me for $1 million. Fuck them all. I love everybody. I love everybody. Especially when I needed $1 million. It's not like you waited till I signed like $300 million. You robbed me with, motherfucker, this is what I love everybody. I love everybody. Especially when I needed one, Miriam. It's not like you waited until I signed like 300 million. You robbed me.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Motherfucker, this is what I was making. Nah, for sure. And I know there's a lot of players out there that went through more of the politics side than they did financial or family. You know what I'm saying? Because usually everybody's family either surprised them with money asked and all that shit. But if you really think about it, even to the extreme, it's not really that big a deal.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Even your homies, if that little resentment is just a little admiration also. It's like a nigga really admire the fact that you made it out of all the niggas in the hood and all the niggas in the state. Niggas is like, yo, this my nigga. You know what I'm saying? But at the end of the day, they abuse it sometimes
Starting point is 00:25:22 and they want to really be you and have what you have. But it's you being a role model. You've stepped into a leadership position that everybody want to be in. Somebody got to be there, right? Why not me? Nah. Why not me? Because if it's not me, it's him.
Starting point is 00:25:38 You got a perfect song for you to go listen to. We're stepping into a leadership role. Yeah. Why? Because we play a sport where everyone's looking at us. Oh, man, I ain't got to be no fucking leader. Hey, go listen to Jordan Lucas on Bro Ski. You don't have to be a leader, but everyone's looking at you as a leader.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Bro Ski. Jordan Lucas. Jordan Lucas. You know the one thing about... Right. Just because you get money, then people look at you as a leader all of a sudden? Yes. No, they don't look at you as a leader.
Starting point is 00:26:02 They look at you as a bank account. You're a bank account. That don't mean you a leader. I feel like a fraud. If you're the dude with money, look right there. You're in the front. Right, but that doesn't make you a leader. You are the leader.
Starting point is 00:26:10 If you're paying for all the bottles, who's the leader? No, that's what you looked at. No, you're the banker. You're the banker. You're the banker. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank.
Starting point is 00:26:18 You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the bank. You're the baby. You're still the leader. You're still the leader. You're not the leader, bro. Why don't they look at you as the leader? Hey, Brandon.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Hey, Brandon. If you say let's go here, we're making all the decisions. I'm making all the decisions. No, you're not the leader, bro. Yes, you are. Because if you give them some money, they're going to leave.
Starting point is 00:26:34 They're going to follow you. Give them $1,000. I'll be right back. But they're still going to follow you. I'm not the leader. Nick, they're still going to follow you. You're making all the decisions. You're going to follow Nick G's.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Man, come with me. So you were the leader. Nick, we're going to Vegas. You say we're going to Vegas. You say your crew. We're going to Vegas. You say your crew. We're going to Vegas. They follow you. If they had to, they follow you.
Starting point is 00:26:50 If they had to, they follow you. If they follow you, it's just paying. But you're a banker. Yes, it is. You're a banker. Because if you didn't have the money, you wouldn't be saying, let's go to Vegas. If you didn't have the money, you wouldn't say, let's go to Vegas. I could be like, let's go to Vegas, and I could be trying to sit there.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Everybody would be the same. If you're not the leader, who the leader? So I look at my situation. Whoever got the most bread is the leader. Kenny, what do you got for us? I went away from college. I left Dallas two weeks after I graduated. I went back to Dallas one time in four years.
Starting point is 00:27:24 They didn't see me. The next time I show up, I'm a millionaire. I'm the number one pick in the draft when I go back to Dallas. They didn't see me. They ain't been around me to follow me. But when I get back, guess what? You're the bank account. But they in hoping for that so they're going to come along
Starting point is 00:27:43 and hoping to get anything so they're following First and that's in the front but you're making all the decisions right if it's small or big Whatever is you making all the decisions? We're going to the park. But you paid for it. But he's making all the decisions. But that's not the leadership. If you pay, if they also pay, would they still follow you?
Starting point is 00:28:15 The brokest nigga can't beat a nigga. The brokest nigga on the crew can't beat a nigga. That's not good. When you was in Cincinnati, when you was in Cincinnati, we're not helping niggas. none of y'all had money. Who was the leader? You. You owned the floor.
Starting point is 00:28:31 I didn't hang out with them niggas. But what I'm saying is everybody's even. When you're all even, that's when leadership is created. I didn't hang out with them niggas. Leadership is created when everybody's even. The most talented guys. The most talented, whatever. But on the floor's even. The most talented guy. Right, the most talented whatever.
Starting point is 00:28:46 But on the floor, yes. But when you make the money, when you make the money, you come to the house, your daddy ain't the daddy no more. You the daddy. You ain't the leader. He's only listening to you because you've got the money he wants. He said your daddy.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Now if your daddy hit the lotto, nigga, whatever you say is even. No, daddy, he just got to have it. You whatever you say is you know that he just gotta have you His own house I'm at my house you had what I'm saying is you had you to rule But what I'm saying is we go with your What I'm saying is what I got security now got all kind of shit, but the problem But you're not telling me what to the same thing. I don't have it. But you're not telling me what to do no more.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Dad, I'm a grown man. I got money. I'm getting money. That's fine. But that's all I have in regards to it. But did you say that before you got that money? No. Yes, I was.
Starting point is 00:29:33 When I left to go to boarding school, I was no longer under my parents' thumb. But this is the real problem with it. When you become the financial leader, you say yes 99 times. You say once, no. You are not the leader no more. It's the penalty of leadership. If you're the leader, they don't...
Starting point is 00:29:57 You're only a leader when you say yes. No, you're not. Let's not. I've said no before. I've said no to the same nigga that was around. I can speak on my situation, right? That's all I can speak on is my situation. So you was a leader before you?
Starting point is 00:30:17 Everybody said no. They already looked up to you. Everybody say no. Lexi, what you say? I wasn't around. I wasn't around. They say no, and they're like, all right, cool. I wasn't, no.
Starting point is 00:30:26 You were the leader before you got money. I didn't go to the same high school or something. Like, nothing. You're the richest leader. That was Kenyon. But if you get money and you automatically become a leader, those are not your friends. Like, everybody I grew up with don't pretend.
Starting point is 00:30:37 I'm keen. If you're the leader of a basketball team, you don't mean none of these dudes I play with are my friends. But I'm the leader of the team. We're not talking about basketball. We're talking about my leader. I'm just saying in context. In context friends, but I'm the leader of the team. We're not talking about basketball. We're talking about life here. I'm just saying in context. In context, even if I'm in the hood,
Starting point is 00:30:48 if I'm the leader of the hood, everybody looking at big bro on the corner, I ain't got to be cool with all these niggas on the corner. But they know that when I come out, hey, man, move around over here, over here, over here. That's big bro. What he say, go. He the leader of the block.
Starting point is 00:31:00 That's how it works. You was talking about friends and family. Now you're just talking about having friends and people following you around. What happens when you say no to the block? Yeah, the block, yeah, the block. What do you mean? When you say no. If the OG making moves and you don't want to, if you don't want to abide by the block group, go to another block. No, when you say no.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Like are we talking about the block? We talking about friends and family. Take you out. Take you out. We talking about friends and family. No more leader. For a block that we don't own? Take you out.
Starting point is 00:31:23 That's why they all get caught. When you tell your friend, when you tell your friend that we made it, when you tell them you can't do it, what happens? If a friend asks you that. What happens to the friends when you fall off? What happens to them? Where they at? Look, you're not going to leave them.
Starting point is 00:31:36 They're doing their thing. They're doing their own thing, right? And it doesn't mean that my leadership changed. My situation was different. I don't want to speak on what I was going through. It was what I could do for them. I was a resource. That's what a could do for them. I was a resource. That's what a leader... A leader is a resource.
Starting point is 00:31:47 A leader is a leader. Or a guy. You're a guy. It's guidance. Leadership. Leadership goes... Leading by example. I showed them niggas how to get money. No different than a hoe. So now, when they're out there, they know what to do and what not to do.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Just like the girls And it when when you ain't the man no more they go to the next man, but they always circle back They always so you make when they burnt out Well, you know when I burnt out first you burnt out second now look who you right right back Where you started when you're back on top? No, I'm good. Well, you're on the bottom You can't hold a nigga down without being down with him. What?
Starting point is 00:32:29 What happened? You can't hold a motherfucker down without being down with him. Ain't nobody going to stop. Shit. Let's go to that. Let's go to that. Your friends, man. Let's get in that pool.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Are you holding your friends? Hold on. When you get in that pool, I'm going to push your head down. Let's see if my head get wet. Mother, you can try to say some brother knowledge. See, that's some brother knowledge. If I pull you down, you can get wet too. Exactly. What do they do?
Starting point is 00:32:53 Pull you down. If they pull you down. Hey, you playing the mud long enough, goddammit, you're going to get dirty. That was some cool shit. Hold on, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We not shooting this. Hold on. Oh, hell no. This nigga birthday,, whoa, whoa, whoa. We not shooting this. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Oh, hell no. This nigga birthday, he got it. You the leader. You're the leader. Come on, leader. You drink, Sean. You are the leader of the company. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:33:13 So you don't drink. We celebrate on your birthday. Is there confidence in that coffee? Is there confidence in that coffee? There you go. As a follower of the Master of the Kills, I'm going to take him on live. Cheers to Rashad.
Starting point is 00:33:26 He got some beans. Hey, chat, shot. I told y'all niggas if they don't pay, If you're watching at home in the chat and you have something to sip in the vicinity, go ahead, take a shot. But let's shift this over to the WNBA side. What is the hardest thing WNBA hoopers have to deal with
Starting point is 00:33:38 outside of basketball? I don't got none of these. No. No. I ain't worried about that. You ain't worried about not a nearer. Off the court. Shopping.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Hey, no, there's a. Women be shopping. No, they just shop more than I do. Women be shopping. Women be shopping. I mean, OK, I will say this. Our issue, at least my issue that I had personally, was just moving around so much because we
Starting point is 00:34:02 had to go overseas and shit. So just that, I would say that was my biggest issue as far as, like, friendships, relationships, being away from your family. You just have to, like, just up and go, and you're just constantly moving from city to city, country to country, and you don't really have time to just chill.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Okay, so, because you guys have to graduate college, right, to enter the draft? No, you don't have to graduate. You have to be 22 in the draft year. 22? So there's no graduation that's involved? No. It's age thing.
Starting point is 00:34:34 It's four years? It's an age thing. Oh, so it's 22. OK. Yeah. So yeah, so my rookie year, I didn't even finish school. I had to take my exams early I didn't get to go to my graduation I was in training camp our season ended I was overseas
Starting point is 00:34:50 like a week later it come back you have a little bit of a break back in training camp just keep going and going and then my last year I played overseas we won the championship probably like on a Saturday. And I was in France like that next Saturday. Oh, okay. That's what I was thinking. So do y'all agents get y'all signed during y'all season for overseas? Yeah. Yeah, you sign like in the summertime.
Starting point is 00:35:14 So when it comes to, let's say, someone staying four years, right, if they lift that, what is the downside of it? Well, now it's less because now we have two off-season leagues in the united states so we have our league athletes unlimited and then we have the new league unrivaled so there's not much of a downside anymore but between the two leagues there's only 70 spots so that's still still half the... 70 total between both leagues. Yeah. But because you got to go overseas and get a job,
Starting point is 00:35:48 like staying in college to get a degree, now... Well, overseas doesn't always... One, it doesn't always work out for people. Two, you don't... Not everybody makes a lot of money overseas. But how... Okay, once you're done playing, the degree you stayed in school for four years, three years, do you even get to use it?
Starting point is 00:36:08 It depends on what you get a degree in. I'm going to use mine. You are? What's yours? I got a master's in business, so I'm using the networking part of it more than the actual piece of paper. But is that from the degree or does that become the relationships? I mean, both, but you have to be in school to to do that So I mean I did my four years and then I did my extra year of my masters and that's great
Starting point is 00:36:32 Because I was just saying I was like man you it depends on what and then there's a lot of girls to go into communications Yeah, go get a job no, I'm just saying but like let's say you get a what I'm saying I say depends on what you get your degree in. But how long does that degree... How long does it become outdated? Let's say you get a degree in 2000. Let's say Diana Taurasi. A degree is a degree. Diana Taurasi, when did she graduate?
Starting point is 00:36:57 I don't know. It's a check mark. When did she graduate? 2000 what? I don't know. We came in the same high school. I just feel like Diana Taurasi is not a good example to you. When did she graduate? 2000 what? I don't know. 2002? We got to back our memory. We came in the same high school. I just feel like Diana Taraski is not a good example to you. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:37:10 I want to hear this. I'm saying this. She gets to do a draft in 2004. So she gets a business degree, right, in business. And then she plays 10, 15 years. 20. No, I'm just saying that she plays 10, 15 years. 20.
Starting point is 00:37:22 And then she goes into the workplace, right? Oh, thank you. She's 15 years removed from this degree with no work experience. Right. How good is that degree at that point? I'm telling you, that's why the relationships kick in. But she's still young, though. She's about 37. No, but I'm just, just think about what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Just things are different. No, I get it. Most people have a hard time when they graduate. Their degree doesn't get to kick in because they don't have no experience. Now you're talking about being removed for 10, 15 years on this degree with no work experience. Why would someone... Is it better to have a degree or better to just network and have your relationship? I mean, and it depends on the caliber of player you are, too.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Like Diana, like I said, Diana Taurasi is not really a good example. Okay, so someone that's 10 years yeah like someone who might not have a very long debut career like like me example okay I thought I was gonna leave I thought I was gonna play five years I'm in seven year seven now and I have two more coming so I've already exceeded what I thought I was gonna be in the league for considering how my league my career started so I was happy I had my degree in those relationships. So it varies case to case. But, I mean, if you're there for three years already, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:38:34 What is one more year going to be? You can't have no, like, go get your degree as a doctor and then not practice medicine. Then show up seven years later like hey That's best so a medical could be bad for you And then you would have to finish later you still gonna be a doctor so a little bit later in your life But it really just depends on what you want to do Damage hey bit later in your life, but it really just depends on what you want to do. Dammit! Hey!
Starting point is 00:39:08 This is some real shit, Gil. The ghost is back. All he's doing is this. He's rubbing his heel together like Dorothy. He's got to double tie his shoe like a little kid. Funny rabbits make the rabbit ears. Alright, well let's keep this thing moving.

Starting point is 00:41:15 What is your specialty to make when you do feel like cooking? I like to make breakfast foods. Okay. Yeah, I'm a breakfast person. She's awesome. She's a breakfast person. We can't cook. Never mind. Yeah, can't cook. Leggo my to breakfast part. We can't cook
Starting point is 00:41:31 Leggo my you can't cook right but we can cook breakfast You butcher breakfast some more You put your breakfast somewhere But your breakfast somewhere if you butcher like You can't butcher serious, that's a little too Water Easy like that. Put some water on that. You better put some water on that. Every time I'm in the kitchen, you in the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:42:11 It's cheaper. What's your favorite? To cook at home? To go to the grocery store and to buy groceries is cheaper. It's cheaper to get meal prep. Gil. No. Grocery shopping for one person is very difficult.
Starting point is 00:42:22 No, it's not. Everything is so big. Meal prep yourself. I've been doing it for years. No, Gilly. I've No, it's not. Everything is so big. Meal prep yourself. I've been doing it for years. No Gilly. Second step. I've been doing it for years. Everything is made so, it's so big, everything goes to waste.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Whoa. Meal prepping. It's so big. It's so much. It's so much stuff. Like, I don't need a whole loaf of bread. It's everywhere. A whole loaf.
Starting point is 00:42:40 You still have loaves. Where? Put it in the freezer. Stretch it. You got to go shop at Trady Joe's. They sell small loafs. Small loafs of bread? Nick, you had a question.
Starting point is 00:42:49 They don't sell small anything. Nick, you had a question for Gil. What were you going to say? Seasonings are huge. Like, I don't want all that stuff. You know, like, those things don't go bad if you don't eat. Shut up, Gilbert. If you listen.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Shut up, Gilbert. Shut up, Gilbert. Hold on. But one thing, Lexi. I mean, all of y'all are growing up sweet. Lexi, one thing I do. Gilbert,, Gilbert. I get a shot. Let me call them, y'all, to grow up clean. Gilbert. Gilbert. You stop.
Starting point is 00:43:08 Shut up. Also, wait. Time out. I gotta time out. If you use the stuff, it don't go bad. If you use it, it don't go bad. Also, because I move so much, I can't even create my kitchen. Oh, you've been moving around.
Starting point is 00:43:18 I'm always moving around. So now, my new apartment. Sound like excuses. You know what? I'm going to build my little kitchen. How about this? For TikTok- When I cook, I'm going to show y'all. For TikTok, my new apartment. Sound like excuses. I'm going to build my little kitchen. How about this? For TikTok, take a picture. As soon as you get home, take a picture of your refrigerator.
Starting point is 00:43:31 No. They got four items. Right? Water and melted ice. Water and melted ice. I got my milk, my meals, and my hair. Next to each other. Two krill men.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Today, tomorrow. Today, tomorrow. And a stick of butter for no reason. A stick of butter? I actually have a tub of butter. You got a tub of butter. And it's so much empty. You know, pretend to cook some shit one day.
Starting point is 00:43:55 You got some butter. You got a tub of butter. That butter shit is hilarious because it's always butter. It's always butter. Always butter. If there ain't shit in the fucking refrigerator, there's some butter in there. Can I get If there ain't shit in the fucking refrigerator, there's some butter in there.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Can I get one of those? We are getting charged up here on the YouTube. I'm a DoorDash maniac. It's OK. It's going to be OK. It's going to be OK. You were saying he could cook. All right, when I cook, I'm going to cook.
Starting point is 00:44:19 He was trying. What's your favorite? All right, so what's your go-to dish? DoorDash. No, you just said you took motherfucking culinary, whatever it's called. I took cooking class in high school. Culinary was part of it. In high school?
Starting point is 00:44:30 Electives. It was that baby dish. What's your go-to? What's your go-to? What's your go-to? No, not DoorDash. Your meal. You got to go in there.

Starting point is 00:50:43 So let me ask you this. Cook and take forever. Perfect grits. So? So let me ask you this. Cooking takes forever. My grandma worked at a fish store, so that's how we eat. Cooking is, like, I tell, like, with certain shit, if you can read, right? You can read? I'm pretty sure y'all can follow the instructions. It ain't that easy, nigga. Read and follow directions and shoot it from there.
Starting point is 00:51:04 If you follow the rules. Right? Nigga said one fourth. Nigga only had a half foot. I read one fourth. I don't know what that means now. One of my partners got one of the grills that I got right. And he was asking a group chat with this bunch of guys
Starting point is 00:51:19 in group chat. Like, I got the grill. You know, a few dudes barbecued it. And he asking for, like, stuff about the grill and stuff. And everybody going into all these intricate da-da-da-da-da-da, they're just giving him all these different tips, this, that. I said, Rich, can you read? He said, yeah.

The grill came with an app? No, the grill, like, next time I saw him, he was like, yo, appreciate that, man. The grill came with an app? It's simple. No, the grill, like, it comes with an app.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Recipes and everything. Everything is built in with recipes. But for me, like, I've been doing it long enough, like, on the grill. But now, if you in the kitchen, man, like, just say something simple, right? Like, going in and making, like, a tuna melt or something. Good tuna melt. I make tuna. I'm tuna.
Starting point is 00:52:05 Good tuna melt. I'm tuna. I make that. Put the eggs in it. Extra eggs. Tuna stuff with salmon or something. I asked for a cookbook for Christmas. I ain't never done no shit like that.
Starting point is 00:52:13 You asked for what? I asked for a cookbook for Christmas. I got it, but it's good. I don't have it. My mom's bringing it to me. I got a cookbook for you. YouTube.com. They got every recipe.

Starting point is 00:52:58 I'm a ranch. I'm a ranch. Don't be like, I'm a fool. You a ranch. You a ranch. You a ranch. Mayonnaise. You can't give a white woman no ranch.
Starting point is 00:53:04 You gotta give her mayonnaise. Ranch is exotic. Take that. Ranch is exotic. Ranch is exotic. Man, they Salad dress an equivalent of many We got a lot We got a lot to get into. We got a lot to get into. Let's keep this thing moving. Hey, I can't even put that shit on everything. Order the food. I need some beautiful.
Starting point is 00:53:37 So with the NBA season coming soon, we want to help you get your bread up with Underdog. So a few of us on the couch have some season-long picks to share with you. So let's put up that full screen. Underdogs got the season-long pick-ems for you, available at your disposal. So, Brandon, you got SGA higher than 30.2 points per game this season. Hell no. Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:55 He's coming back off revenge. He didn't get MVP last year. Nah, nah, nah. Any Canadian, he got to represent for his countrymen. He got a young fella hungry. That's fine. He hungry, too. Give him some mayonnaise or some ranch.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Kenyon. Two of them. You said Kyrie Irving, 24.2 points per game. You're going higher than Kyrie, 24.2. You don't think Klay is going to impact that situation? No. Kyrie's getting his buckets. Who picked that?
Starting point is 00:54:18 I did. You think you're going more than that? More than 24? You have 27 last year. Man, the nigga's getting older, too. Yes, Morgan. More than 24 point. Yeah, it was 27 last this year Yes Morgan so all it is He got three months older Do you feel the same way you felt in three months
Starting point is 00:54:43 Master McCants you have Trey Young lower 28.2 points per game. Yeah. Damn. Trey can't get 28.3? They hate on him too much. What did he average last year?
Starting point is 00:54:52 That would be wild for him to average 29 a game this year. What did he average last year? Let me pull it up. It's crazy. Yeah, I'm with you. Yeah, it'd be crazy.
Starting point is 00:54:58 He's not average. They hate on him too much. They won't let him do that. I don't think he has it. He ain't made no NBA Revenge season? Trey not coming looking? No, I ain't saying he can't do it He could have just 27 is still wait that wait wait wait hold on they went from 25
Starting point is 00:55:13 25.7 this one is but he had the janky wrist he wasn't saying he gonna jump up to 28 I don't think so. I don't know way no way He's on the Pelican? Yes. When did that happen? He for sure averaged 30. Damn. He's blockbuster. Mid-season. Ain't he getting disrespected? Yeah, he averaged a 30. Great deadline. And last. He averaged a 30.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Last but not least. And DeAndre averaged 22 last year. DeJounte Byrd. Also known as DeAndre. But Gil, last but not least. And you're a never-ending supporter of European hoopers. You got Luka Doncic higher. 9.1 assists per game.
Starting point is 00:56:06 And Clay coming to town. He's going to feed with that rock. Huh? You think Luka Doncic higher. 9.1 assists per game. And Clay coming to town, he's going to shoot with that rock. You think with Clay coming to town? Just naturally, he's so aggressive offensively that he gets at least 9 assists just playing basketball. So the fact that you got Clay over there too, and
Starting point is 00:56:22 Kyrie's going to be better, and your bigs are a little bit older to understand how to. Yeah. Now, Gil, a few weeks ago you said that Luka will average a triple-double this season. Are you ready to stand on that? It's our season two finale. We will play the clip if you're right.
Starting point is 00:56:36 We will delete it if you're not. You standing on this? I mean, he's what, point? What is he? A point away from a point. not even a full point, right? You got the ultimate green light, bro Yeah, yeah, because now he's gonna go for it right nine point two and nine point eight, of course 34
Starting point is 00:57:04 All this year is he's just got to focus on rebounding. Because he won't average 34 this year. That's coming down. He might be EVP this year. Like if he averages 29, 11, and 10. I can see it. I can see it for sure. He can average 30-something and 10 and 10.
Starting point is 00:57:19 They want him to be EVP. They want him to be EVP. So let's keep this thing moving. We have a special guest making his second appearance in the arena. You've seen him on ESPN and HBO. Now you can watch him on this show the right time. Bomani Jones, welcome back to Gil's Arena.
Starting point is 00:57:41 What's going on? What up, what up, what up, what up? Oh, damn. Goddamn, Gil. You're a racist-ass dog. Goddamn. I would say, I would say he is sexist. He just take niggas, he's like, how did you know I was a nigga? Huh?
Starting point is 00:57:55 I would say he's sexist before he even- He didn't bark like that against us. Yes, he did. Well, Monty, we see you just gave everybody the quick what's up. It's like 80 y'all. It's a lot of niggas. Yeah, yeah. The last time I tried to dap up everybody, I almost tripped on that goddamn thing. And it's like 80 y'all this time. It's a lot of niggas. Yeah. The last time I tried to dap up everybody,
Starting point is 00:58:06 I almost tripped on that goddamn thing. And it's like 80 y'all this time. We see how black people was in like the 30s, the 40s, the 50s, huh? You know what I'm saying? Hit the dog on him. He just like, oh shit. I told you.
Starting point is 00:58:19 You bark at me again, I'm going to bring Jack up here. Eat his little ass. Settle down, nigga. Chew toy. Pfft. Yeah, no, yeah. I hate no. I'm going to bring you. I'm going to Jack up here. Yeah. Gonna be easy. Settle down, nigga. Yeah, yeah. Chew toy. Yeah, no, yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna bring you. I hate dogs.
Starting point is 00:58:29 I'm gonna bring you. I'm gonna be a chew toy. Sweet. Well, Manny, we appreciate you pulling up. How you doing, man? Appreciate you, man. Everything's all good. We went from sleeping to- Can't complain.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Yeah, man. All right. Good to have you in the arena. Let's talk a little basketball since we got this. There's a lot of niggas on this couch. Goddamn. How we supposed to- All right. We're gonna figure it out. We. A couple Mondays ago, right?
Starting point is 00:58:46 It was deep in here a couple of days ago. You had everybody and their mama up in here. It's blue, little love. There was police up there, huh? Training camp is right around the corner. Little love. Everybody. Training camp right around the corner. After losing Paul George to free agency,
Starting point is 00:59:05 the Clippers are moving to their new arena this season with a new-look team headlined by Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. But according to Shams and Clippers B reporter Law Murray, Kawhi underwent a procedure on his knee this offseason will be limited to strengthening his knee to start Clippers training camp. But according to the report, the team is optimistic about his progress. Kawhi was a member of the Team USA 12-man roster, but withdrew after a few practices to focus on getting ready for the season.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Played in 68 games with the Clippers this past season. His most is joining the team. Averaged 24 assists while being selected to his sixth All-Star game and make his second team All-NBA, but missed the final eight games of the regular season and four of the six Clippers playoff games with inflammation in his surgically repaired right knee. So Kawhi has missed parts or all of the last four Clippers postseasons, playing in only four of the Clippers' last 19 playoff games dating back to 2021.
Starting point is 00:59:57 But you may recall back in January, he signed a three-year, $153 million extension with the team, which played a part in PG dipping to Philly this offseason So based on how his tenure in LA has played out thus far how much faith should the Clippers have in Kawhi's health moving forward? Brain I see you there hanging your head low He's just got surgery They didn't they didn't they ever specified exactly He will be chilling at training camp, collecting his bag. He just don't want to go to training camp, right?
Starting point is 01:00:29 That's all I mean. Time to move on. Time to move on. Can't now. Got him. It ain't time to move on. No? Nah.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Man, I'm not even like, I'm just saying, he can't, he's not available, though. Hey, can I ask you a question? When he was at the Olympics, right, and we seen him walking with the little whole bag. The little mini suit, yeah, the whole bag. The whole bag. I mean, everybody else had luggage like they was about to. What do you call it? Whole bag. Whole bag.
Starting point is 01:00:57 It's been a night bag. He just had enough for the night. It's been a night bag. It's been a night bag. So you carry. One pair of drawers and some clothes. So we got a carry on with the wheels on it. It's a whole bag. No, no, no. That shit was small. It been a night bag. So if you carry it. One pair of drawers and some cupboards. So we got a carry-on with the wheels on it. It's a whole bag.
Starting point is 01:01:07 No, not even a carry-on. It was a smaller one. It was a smaller one. OK, you're going for a tryout, right? Everybody else had luggage. Luggage, because coming in with luggage, people helping him. And he came with the whole bag, right? He ain't going to be alone.
Starting point is 01:01:24 And we put you, right? OK, now the problem with the whole bag, right? He ain't going to be alone. Right? Okay, now the problem is, you know, when people said he was fully healthy, and we seen him limping and going, we knew he wasn't making his team. If you're the Clippers, why? Well, the report was that the Clippers and Team USA agreed. And he looked horrible. I'll be bold. agreed. And he looked horrible. My report. I'll be bold.
Starting point is 01:01:48 My sources says he looked horrible in the workout. You've seen the videos. He was getting cooked. No, what I'm saying, in the workout with the Clippers and the USA, sources says he looked horrible then. Yeah. Why didn't they just do this then? What are y'all doing?
Starting point is 01:02:02 They should have did that then. You know what I mean? You say, why didn't they did they do this like why didn't they do the surgery? Why did they just do the surgery back here? They didn't say exactly when the surgery occurred. They just said he had surgery this offseason. He'll be strengthening his all right Do we think he had surgery right during the playoffs? two games right after that so therefore Did he actually was fucked up then.
Starting point is 01:02:27 No, no. He showed up to training camp and practice. So I don't imagine he was in some point after in July or August. So he didn't have surgery then. He was in Costa Rica. He didn't have surgery. He didn't have surgery before that workout. He didn't have surgery before USA basketball.
Starting point is 01:02:42 So that means after that, he had surgery. Why didn't you just have surgery when the season... Why he didn't? Because he wanted to play on that Olympic team. So let's think about this. I mean, and you tell me if I'm wrong here. If not for the injuries, he has
Starting point is 01:02:57 an argument for being like top 20, top 25 NBA player all time, right? Best defensive player of his era. He's a 50-40-90 guy at this point. Two finals MVPs on two different teams, right? And in 2019, it was him and some pips, right? Like, he took a whole team there. The box he doesn't have is the Olympic team.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Like, if he wasn't the dude that doesn't talk, we would assume that he wants that box check like anybody else wants that box check. So all these dudes can't say any of this about him. Like, if you were to tell him Kevin Dur durant's better than him you think he'd believe it no kevin durant got a pocket full of gold medals and he wanted i think he wanted to get that and he thought he could hold on as long as he could and then that shit just fell apart that's my guess that's a good guess alsov Braves a lot. Where do you rank Kawhi?
Starting point is 01:03:46 Like all four. You said he was top eight, right? Two players didn't play the whole time, so I think Kawhi would be one of those players. Because I don't think they wanted to give him that gold just to give him the gold because he's not part of the... Well, that's it, though, right? He's not going to be able to get a gold medal, huh? He's going to be four years from now. Yeah, you're right
Starting point is 01:04:08 No, cuz if you did took the surgery there was no way he was gonna make this team So yeah, he probably just went on a team hoping that he was Halliburton. They don't play him right and he can just But on paper do that obviously but mine like you pointed out he great on both sides of the ball He would seem to be very important to that team USA. That means think about it. They cut up But think about it he must have looked that bad For them to cut him And you're talking about he must have looked that bad for them to cut him because he probably thought that shit just me I'm just me being out here. I can fuck it and make the team go there and just my man my shit sore
Starting point is 01:04:46 I don't have to play I get a go or did he think he deserved it right because I could make an argument That you just leave him on even if he can't play he's got a resume where a different person with that resume Expects that you go, you know, that's why me on the squad. How old is he? So he looked that means he looked horrible Oh on the squad. How old is he? So he looked horrible. That means he looked horrible. Not even healthy enough to go out there and do anything. That means he looked horrible. Turned 33 in June. He could play and be 37. For the next one.
Starting point is 01:05:13 KD and him did it this year. He could play some little minutes though. You know what I'm saying? He could if he's healthy. That must have meant he was really hurt. Let's talk about the right now. Obviously, Clippers opened it into a dome. I don't know why you look at it like that. 1,100 bathrooms, high school jerseys
Starting point is 01:05:31 from every team in the state. Incredible. Usher. Performing for the Red Bull. They should host the BET Awards there. Sick. I mean, that's them. Hey, man, come on.
Starting point is 01:05:45 But now we got... Don't hate on them because they got a new one. Yeah. What? Y'all hating on them because they got a new arena. Ain't nobody going there. You're right, you're right. They finally got off their couch.
Starting point is 01:05:55 Y'all should be happy. Y'all should be happy they got off y'all couch. Y'all should be happy they got off y'all goddamn couch and out y'all basement. No, no, no, no. He was out the basement. Right? Not the couch. They've been standing in the basement. Y'all should be happy. They finally moved out
Starting point is 01:06:09 And it's nicer than y'all Clippers making the playoffs for now, huh? They've been saving a lot of money. I think James right here. He James cut the beat So hard on that two-year 70 million dollar deal this Right, but how much the Clippers have in Kawhi himself moving forward? You don't think so? He's showing you what it is. You think they're going to make the play-in? I mean, he has nothing to prove to me.
Starting point is 01:06:30 Who's better than him? How many years have he played? This will be, I believe, the sixth season with the Clippers. The Clippers? Name me eight teams better than the Clippers. Eight teams better than the Clippers? Eight teams in the West. Eight teams in the West.
Starting point is 01:06:41 Out of Detroit. Man, hell no. In the West. In the West, Gilbert. In the West. Detroit. In the West. In the West. Detroit's in the East. Who was last placed last year? Portland.
Starting point is 01:06:50 Portland. You don't know. So Kawhi's... Paul George is gone. Kawhi is gone. Kawhi's going to play this year. No, he ain't. No, he's not.
Starting point is 01:06:59 No, he ain't. He's done. No, he's not playing. No, he's not. No, he's not. He's not playing this year. Kawhi never played more than 74 games, which he did in 2016-17. During his time with the Clippers, I'll just read it to you.
Starting point is 01:07:08 If he don't play this year, he got to retire. He played 57 games in 2019-2020, played 52 games 2020-2021. I don't know if James Hart was like... Did not play 2021-2022 as he was recovering from the ACL. Played 52 games 2022-2023. A lot of empty seats in there, man. And then played 68 68 which was the most with the Clippers.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Yeah, but if you don't play this year it's over. If you don't play this year it's over. This shit is over. He's playing he's just signing
Starting point is 01:07:32 a fucking extension, Gil. If Antonio was consistent Okay, how many games is he playing? Yeah. If he don't play this year it's over. Mid 60s to 70 range.
Starting point is 01:07:40 You think he's going to play 70 games? I said 50. Okay, I thought he said 60 or 70. I said 50. They're talking about something totally different. I say 50 games. It's enough to get him
Starting point is 01:07:52 the back half of the season. He's got to play the right games, right? It don't even matter how many. Pick 50. Pick 50 games. You think there's going to be a playoff team picking 50 games? With just James Harden now?
Starting point is 01:08:05 No, no way. No. Man, they got a little. Hey, you know what? Fuck all that. The Lakers just got. But, Steve. Listen.
Starting point is 01:08:11 What is James Harden points per game now? Uh-uh. Look at. Look at Gil. What is James Harden points per game? That's a James when they get it up. I'm telling you. That's a James when they get it up.
Starting point is 01:08:22 I mean. I'm at home. There's no reason not to. Right. I'd go back to Houston, James. 16.6. 16 point, nigga. At the higher...
Starting point is 01:08:30 That's how much he averaged last year? He averaged more than 16. 16.6? You put a million dollars. 16? With no Paul George. 16.6. And getting 20 points.
Starting point is 01:08:41 No Westbrook. James will pass the ball if he got somebody to pass the ball. And Kawhi Leonard's not there. Oh my god Why is it obvious? Kawhi is going to be there I don't want to just admit that Kawhi is overrated What kind of overrated? I like that question, bro.
Starting point is 01:09:05 Can I get a shot? I wanted to ask you this. Yeah, what? Go out there and top five out of L.A. Hold on. What's overrated? Like, what did you say? Slow down.
Starting point is 01:09:11 What is overrated? Riverside brand or Riverside? Hold on. What is overrated? Every time I hear it, I hear two-timeness. And, like, outside of the two-timeness resume, you guys got to forge for him to be in conversations. Hold on. Outside of the two-time finals NBA?
Starting point is 01:09:24 Yes. Because of the circumstance. Hold up, Sean. Hold up. Hold up. I can give Andre Iguodala a conversation. No, you can't. Two-time finals MVP.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Was he not a finals MVP? Stop that. Was he not a finals MVP? No. No. No. No, he was not. He wasn't.
Starting point is 01:09:42 No. He wasn't. I don't give a fuck if he got a trophy at home or not. He was not. All right, so Kawhi Leonard was a finals MVP with Tim Duncan. No, he was not. He was not. If you're saying Iguodala was not, he was not the finals MVP that year.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Okay, then. Let me read you. Y'all wouldn't use that. He got one. He got none. Let me read you Kawhi's accolades. He got one. He got none.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Kawhi's accolades. Kawhi's accolades. Two-time champ, two-time finals MVP. Six-time All-NBA. I'm not taking them. Seven-time All-Defense with two defensive players of yours mixed in right there. A bunch of defense. All-stars. A bunch of defense.
Starting point is 01:10:15 He played a bunch of defense. Oh, party. Ah, y'all up there. That's why I didn't want to say it. Party, y'all. Party, y'all. Now, go ahead. When we say overrated, what do we mean by overrated?
Starting point is 01:10:25 Y'all are not holding his feet to the fire. For being hurt, for not taking the team from being the champion in 2019, and not even seeing the second, third round. Now that part is fair. What do you mean? That's the only part that should be acknowledged. Why y'all make up other shit so this can be fair when this is right here in front of your face to be the number one thing to be overrated.
Starting point is 01:10:50 You got DeMar DeRozan, you got Jimmy Butler, and you got Paul George living in his shadow because of things he did with good people. He's not better than all of us. He's not better than us. See, actually, when I asked niggas,
Starting point is 01:11:05 they was like, Kawhi is at the bottom of them. Man, who you at? Who you at? After that Toronto championship. What, after the break, nigga? You playing that? Nah. I asked him who was in Vegas.
Starting point is 01:11:15 If you asked me after the L.A. I asked him who was better than Brown. When it was time to go get it. Nah. What do you mean, when was it time to go get it? It was time the last six years. You had the last six years to go get it. Toronto?
Starting point is 01:11:27 What happened then? The last five years. The what if is what if he don't get hurt in 2017 because he was better in the playoffs in 2017 other than LeBron 0-9 through 12. I ain't never seen nobody be better in the playoffs post-Joyden. Okay, look. We're talking about Kevin.
Starting point is 01:11:42 He's hitting all these other niggas, man. His first finals MVP, okay, we can question that because obviously he did not stop LeBron James at all Right. That's the same thing with a dollar. We can say all right you have his 14 He was going LeBron James and he has some reason he average 50 50 50 whatever Had to give it to someone okay, you was better you was better than Your teammates you not They had to give it to someone. Okay, you was better you was better than your teammates Who I littered? I don't care. It doesn't matter. So that's 23 years old. I'm in the finals. It was the finals. He was the best player on that team.
Starting point is 01:12:28 He was the best player on that team. He was the best player on the team, but he did not stop LeBron James. So he gets it. He did. His second finals MVP, the nigga averaged 30. So we won. Yes. Dragging one leg.
Starting point is 01:12:41 All right. And one leg. So, yes. So we can say one finals MVP, he earned that motherfucker outright. We can give him that. Team one complete. Right? It was beautiful to see, though.
Starting point is 01:12:51 Overrated for the rest of his career. And I didn't like why. I'm like, well, like, his game looked nasty. Yeah, they're two robots. But there was a point where I'm just looking at him and I'm like, he gets it done. He's good. He gets it done. He's good. He's good. He's really good.
Starting point is 01:13:07 He's really good. But he's overrated for the things that people expect him to do. Okay, what he has not done is the Clippers thing, right? He was down 0-2 against Milwaukee. We expect how we did. The other three niggas you named would have never been able to do that. We expect Kawhi to come into L.A. and get him a championship. No, he did not.
Starting point is 01:13:23 He did not. No, no. He was a Clippers dude. So why did he come in? Why did he come in? He came in with Paul George. If they weren't the Clippers, we would think they should have won a championship. But you came in with Paul George.
Starting point is 01:13:33 But they was wearing the losers. You and Paul George came in together. We expected a championship. No, we did not. The Clippers. No, we did not. There was a lot of hype around that team when they came. But, but, but, but, they are the Clippers.
Starting point is 01:13:44 That's media hype. that team when they came. But, but, but, but, they are the Clippers. That's media hype. He was not saying this. When him and Paul George came, he said they could get close. When him and Paul George came, that team wasn't championship ready. Yeah, they was. But we had a championship. They were the third highest championship that year. Media.
Starting point is 01:14:02 Hear me out. Hear me out. Vegas. I'm finna take a shot at someone. This is bubble? Hear me out. No, hear me out. Vegas. Listen, media. I'm finna take a shot at someone. This is not, I like it. You're not winning a championship with a Visa Zubac as your five.
Starting point is 01:14:12 Out of the bubble. Not in the bubble. I say that many, many times. Out of the bubble? I hate to be that way, but you're not winning a championship with a Visa Zubac as your starting five. That's just unfortunate. What do you think he doesn't do?
Starting point is 01:14:21 Y'all can't prove he ain't. He's a backup. I know that. Zubac? He's the best. He's a backup. I know that this is the back Serviceable Never take right down. Oh to the service of bucks. Who the boy niggas you never never do that out of the bubble I mean if there was never no vote give me Nurkic. Maybe they don't give me it and it killed the Lakers I'm sorry. I'm just saying
Starting point is 01:14:47 Get more out of him offensive did I Yeah, he just ain't guarding nobody. He ain't guarding nobody. Who is Uba guarding? There. Fuck. There. Out of the bubble. If there was never no COVID.
Starting point is 01:14:54 Go give me boost. If there was never a bubble. If there was never a COVID. If there was never a bubble. If there was no COVID. They played a full season. Regular season. They had a better chance out of the bubble.
Starting point is 01:15:05 Perfect play. For sure. Once it went to the bubble, that Clipper team was not disciplined enough to be stationary and not have the things that made them good. I got a question. Mentally. I got a question for you. The distractions, like going to the strip club, doing distractions.
Starting point is 01:15:21 The fact that you took that away from them and say, lock in the personalities they had. They didn't have professionals. They didn't have a LeBron James. They can say, wait, what are y'all doing? But is that a knock on Kawhi? Yeah, that's what I was about to say. No, I can't knock him. We talking about Kawhi Henry.
Starting point is 01:15:36 But that's the thing. Kawhi, the only dude to make all that money and not want to be in charge, right? We don't fault him for not being in charge. Two-time MVP, two-time champion. He done all don't fault him for not being in charge. Two-time MVP. Hold on, hold on. He done all that shit not talking, not being a leader. He done all that shit not talking, not being a leader.
Starting point is 01:15:50 You don't want it. You got to put it in perspective. You don't want it. No, you got to put it in perspective. You can't say, you can't fault him for not being a leader when his accolades, he wasn't one. Right? When he won his first finals MVP championship, he wasn't a leader. He wasn't one yeah right when he won his first finals MVP and for a championship leader he wasn't a leader right he was a leader those MVP he was a leader you're the paper I'm not as a V or you the leaders of paper
Starting point is 01:16:13 finally right he was a team Duncan you got three veterans on the team he was just a young dude just garn LeBron James he wanted okay right when he went to Toronto that team was the number one team the year before. They already had leadership. He came in and played a part and won it. So he wasn't the leader. So he got two championships, two finals MVPs. He never
Starting point is 01:16:35 took on the role. When he came here, this was his first time to say, I'm the leader. So we get to see the real Kawhi. He got hurt. I like it. We can see the real Kawhi. We to see the real Kawhi. He just got hurt. I love it. I love it too, bro. He just got hurt.
Starting point is 01:16:47 He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt.
Starting point is 01:16:55 He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt.
Starting point is 01:17:03 He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. He just got hurt. But it was a chance for him to beat, but he's been hurt the whole time. Two-time champion. So he's never got to really stand on his toes. The last six years, they only had one year that he didn't play. So five years. Five years. He missed one full season with the ACL, but has only played, I think, in four of the 19 playoff games this 2020.
Starting point is 01:17:24 If he was healthy, they would have gotten a championship. If he was healthy... I don't know, you fuck. They would have beat Milwaukee that year. What year? Anybody healthy in the East would have beat Milwaukee that year. If Brooklyn was healthy, you see what they did in the two games that they were...
Starting point is 01:17:40 You see what Atlanta did before the referee had to trip somebody? No, no, no, no, no, no. There was only one team or two probably could have beat Milwaukee that year. Milwaukee was getting manhandled by Trae Young until the referee kicked in. Man, no way. Hell no.
Starting point is 01:17:56 Facts. Come on, man. I love Trae. He stepped on the ref's foot and got injured. Oh, my God. Come on, man. What? Do we got to go to...
Starting point is 01:18:04 Nope. Do we got to go stat man, stat man? No, the? No. Do we got to go stat man, stat man? No, no, no. Do we got to go stat man, stat man? I remember. I was watching. Do we not remember the Brooklyn series when they beat their ass by 20? We know.
Starting point is 01:18:12 What the fuck? Indiana going to beat Boston, too, this year. Who's hurt? Hamburger. Hamburger. Who? Hamburger Helfer. Hamburger.
Starting point is 01:18:24 Hamburger. What the hell? Hamburger Helfer. He called him Hamburger Helbler. Hamburger Helbler. He called him Hamburger. Nobody said that. Hamburger Helbler. That's not even a hard name. How you going from Hollabird to Hamburger? Hamburgerler. Now you got a name for the year. That's his name.
Starting point is 01:18:40 We got Womble Womble. Womble Womble. What the Hennessy dude. Fuck it. We know that. The S dude. So, Shaw, but injuries don't play a role in Kawhi's struggles with the Clipper? I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:18:52 Does injury play a role with Derrick Rose's legacy that we were talking about yesterday? I'm saying we just talked about that. I'm just saying, everybody feet to the same fire. My niggas like, I don't, it ain't that I don't like it. It's just that the other side don't get to hear There's you know, they voice me in school because how many over but I think the difference between him and Derrick Rose when Derrick Rose came Back Derrick Rose did not look like the nearer else we saw before every time come back out there on that one leg
Starting point is 01:19:15 He looked like the same dude. Do we saw the second team all NBA this past season? You get more creative of what plan hurt Man, what's telling? I mean, tell him. Yes, right. Yes, he gets more credit. Second team. He hasn't been. No, you get more credit for what? Playing hurt? Second team. You get more credit for being in second team? You get a lot of credit for being really good when you're out there.
Starting point is 01:19:34 He's never been third team. You get. Kawhi, I think, what? Three and three, right? Yeah, you get really good credit when you're out there and you're really good. Three and three first and so on. Not out there is what people got a problem with Kawhi.
Starting point is 01:19:45 When he's out there, he's fucking really, really good. Three first teams, three second teams. I mean, to be honest. Who are you taking? You have to think that he's missed this much time back in the old rule before 65 games in and he made
Starting point is 01:20:01 second team or first team still being injured and coming back and playing. Yeah, six only. He's never made a third team. So that means when he's played, he's still been the first or second best small forward. All right. He's awesome. He's really, really good.
Starting point is 01:20:16 When he's out there, he's really good. So there's no overration. So you can't ignore him. At the small forward, are you taking Melo or Kawhi? It don't matter. Oh, I'm taking Kawhi. I ain't even thinking twice about that Oh, hello. Why are you taking you taking the watch? Yeah, I chance to stop. Oh, I can guard anybody
Starting point is 01:20:31 Nobody can go a lot. I don't agree with that. That's what I'm saying The defending part you're only saying that because it look good on TV. I'm not going against my guys. For real, for this hoot, like, man. I mean, you turned me there because I'm not that good. KD will look at Kawhi and say, I'm going to score anything. Because one thing for sure, two things for sure. Young Mello, Kawhi not stopping. That's why I asked for Young Mello. Hell no.
Starting point is 01:20:56 Nobody. Give a fuck. First team, second team. I don't give a fuck. I don't give a fuck what team. All defensive player of the year, all this shit. Both of them up. Mellow motherfucking.
Starting point is 01:21:11 Getting that thing off. And he going to have Kawhi on that dream. What's going to happen on the way back down though? Who's the top five? Who's the top five? That's a bucket. On the way back down, I'm guarding it. That's a bucket.
Starting point is 01:21:25 He said what's going to happen on the way back down, I'm guarding it, nigga. That's a bucket. Hey, Gil. That's a bucket. Gil, he said what's going to happen on the way back down. That's a bucket. I'm guarding him on the way back down. That's a bucket. So the real big difference. Giannis saw that.
Starting point is 01:21:33 That was a bucket on Giannis. Much better defender than him. Bucket too. Much better defender than him. Bucket. That's a bucket. I'm a much better defender than both of you guys' names. So you can stop it.
Starting point is 01:21:41 Easy bucket. You can stop it. Ain't nobody ever had an easy bucket. Easy bucket. On who? On any of y'all niggas. On who? Quality of the easy bucket on any of y'all easy bucket. Easy bucket on any of y'all niggas. On who? On who? I said any of y'all. Nah, ain't nobody ever had an easy bucket on Kenya Martin Sr.
Starting point is 01:21:52 I can promise you that shit. Ain't nobody ever had an easy bucket on me. Ain't nobody ever had an easy bucket on me. I can promise you that shit. Go ask all of them. Huh? Easy bucket. No, but when we say ask all of them.
Starting point is 01:22:05 But when we say small four. I was going when you still had your mama titty in your mouth, boy. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. Right now, easy bucket. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:22:12 Shaq, 40 and 10. Easy bucket. Just play the five. Right now, we're saying he's overrated, right? He played the five. Shaq, 40 and 10. That's what Master McCantor saying on his birthday. No, but this is a real question, though.
Starting point is 01:22:24 Like, if you want to say, if you want to add. It's a reality. No, but this is a real question, though. Like, if you want to say... It's a reality. It's a reality. No, this is reality. It's a reality. Who's the best small forward in the game right now? For the last six years. Kevin Durant.
Starting point is 01:22:33 For the last six years. For the last 10 years. Okay. For the last 10 years. Cool. Kevin Durant. Who's number two? LeBron James.
Starting point is 01:22:40 Okay. You have LeBron and KD. You have KD and LeBron. Who's next? Who's next? Bird. Paul George. James. OK. You have LeBron and KD. You have KD LeBron. Who's next? Who's next? Bird. Paul George. OK, great.
Starting point is 01:22:49 Wait, hold on. Hold on. Wait. Paul George. Hold on. Kawhi, you crazy. Hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:22:54 What's happening? What's happening? What's happening? And then Jimmy Butler. Stop. OK. And then DeMar. I know who y'all talking to.
Starting point is 01:23:00 And then Kawhi. OK, cool. I know who y'all talking to. Now, I'm glad you said all those names. Kawhi Leonard with LeBron James and KD being number one and two in front of him. Right? We don't even need to go for three and four. He's been second team or first team damn near every year that he's been kind of healthy.
Starting point is 01:23:26 He's never been third. He's never been third to any of the two. So that means the two you named had to be third and second because he's been one and two the whole time. Young never been All-NBA. That's what that means.
Starting point is 01:23:42 How many points? 26. If the criteria is based on all NBA somebody getting in there and being there, right? That's what I'm saying. When people get snubbed out of it. So people who deserve it get snubbed out by people who don't deserve it because of their resume. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now.
Starting point is 01:24:02 So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. So LeBron James and KD have been snubbed out for a while now. Kawhi, Kawhi goes second All-NBA. Yes, he deserve it. This year? Yes. With the people who deserve to be in that spot? Man, man. It's crazy.
Starting point is 01:24:11 They deserve it over him. A lot of players. Name. De'Aaron Fox. Man. That's small for. It's a positionless All-NBA. Hey, man.
Starting point is 01:24:21 No, that's sad again, Josiah. Is it a positionless or we're doing position? It's frontcourt, backcourt, right? It's positionless. Y'all doing positionless. Literally. So Kawhi can make it because, what,
Starting point is 01:24:32 he's a small forward and he can put a small forward. Because he ain't been playing like that, bro. How many games he played this year? 56. He said 68, right?
Starting point is 01:24:40 68 games. And what was their record? They was in fourth? I don't know. What do you have, Rich? I don't know, man. Did they win the championship? Did they win the championship?
Starting point is 01:24:49 Did they win the championship? Did they win the championship? They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship.
Starting point is 01:24:57 They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They win the championship. They make the play manufactured man. You crazy.
Starting point is 01:25:05 You ever seen some menu back here. Like a conspiracy. He's a manufacturer like his coach was. You have left the arena. I think so. Give me some. Give me some. Yes, I do.
Starting point is 01:25:19 Get some gummy bears. He said no, no. He said Jimmy Butler, DeMarco and Paul George. And he said. He just said DeMarco. DeMarco about the two. Okay. But I'm not. He said no no he said Jimmy Butler tomorrow and Paul George Okay, but I'm not Argument I really like the rose and like a really He's fucking underrated as they come
Starting point is 01:25:42 Paul George is a man. Okay, Nick young Why play better be on the line? Hey, Nick Young. The Kawhi played better defense than Kawhi? Just line him up at the Drew. We in Nick Young world. Line him up at the Drew. Roll the ball. I did not even roll it. You might be an argument between Jimmy and Kawhi. It'll be a soft one. It could be a beanie or something.
Starting point is 01:26:04 The more Jimmy Butler. What's up, How's she? Demar, Jimmy Butler. What's up, Joe? And Paul, better than him. And Paul. I want to cue the music. Better than Kawhi Leonard. He just gets it done, man. Some technical difficulties we're working through right now.
Starting point is 01:26:13 No matter what we say, man, he gets it done, though. It's weird. What? Done. It don't look pretty. He gets it done. It's a job. He's winning the championship.
Starting point is 01:26:22 His job. What is getting it done? Who gets it done? That What is getting it done? That means Dane gets it done? So nobody else does. Y'all just don't get it done? They get it done for you? What is getting it done?
Starting point is 01:26:32 He won a championship. He has two. He's got two. In 2019? No, there's still championships. Y'all niggas is bugging. You comparing him to guys that don't even have one? Hold me to the fight.
Starting point is 01:26:41 I'm just, let me ask you this. Everybody that you just named that was better, how many they got? Right. What are you talking about? Who was better than who? Jimmy, DeVar, they don't have any. Everybody you just named that you said was better than Kawhi
Starting point is 01:26:52 Leonard. And one of them had the same team. How many championships do they have? They don't have any. Exactly. I don't know how you make the DeRozan case when they switched out DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard and won a championship. I mean, no, no, no, wait, wait.
Starting point is 01:27:04 What? The Warriors was hurt. They was hurt. Huh? KD was championship. I mean, no, no, no, wait, wait. What? The Warriors was hurt. They was hurt. Huh? KD was hurt. KD claimed. Can't do that now.
Starting point is 01:27:11 If KD was here, it would be a different situation. No, no, what he said, no, no, no, no, what his point is, no, what he's saying is, like I've been saying, they don't, Toronto was down 0-2 against Milwaukee. So if they had DeRozan, they'd come back from 0-2 and beat Milwaukee? We don't know. We don't know. They don't. We don't know. Because I don't know what the hell Kawhi, I don't know what the hell Kawhi Leonard was Milwaukee. We don't know they don't Walk is when they get them out of here
Starting point is 01:27:42 Turn it on and I don't Play off Kawhi has an argument for playoff performances. Man. He averaged 27, 28, 30. Game winner, too. 28, 30, 34. All I hear is 2017. 2017.
Starting point is 01:28:00 25, 26. All I hear is 2017. When he show up, he shows up. 2017, before Buddy ran into his leg. That was unreal. When they was up 25 in the Warriors. That's the one. If that one plays out, we got a whole lot of different things to talk about.
Starting point is 01:28:15 What? They was going to beat the Warriors with KD. Bro, they was going to beat the Warriors. But Zaza Baloo, that broke his knee. They was up 20. They was up 20. They was up 20. You on memory lane. And he came back the next year after 30, won a championship.
Starting point is 01:28:28 Y'all niggas on memory lane for too long. I mean, but everybody else you asked. But everybody else you asked. But everybody else you asked. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's not that you were slimming. You can't say you were on memory lane for him and not for the other people.
Starting point is 01:28:39 Everybody else you named him. What the hell they done? We were just talking about them last night, yesterday. Derrick Rose. Give him the same greats this. But he hasn't even went second team. I'm saying Derrick Rose should be a Hall of Famer. I wasn't tripping.
Starting point is 01:28:50 He was a second team last year. Derrick Rose might make it just because Grant Hill went. All I'm saying is he overrated. That's all I'm saying. We were saying Derrick Rose should be a Hall of Famer. I said it, Sam. Being the youngest MVP. But they say he won't be because of injuries.
Starting point is 01:29:00 He won't be. He's not a Hall of Famer. Nah, he might. Let's bring this back. But they said because of the injuries, they're going to be like, oh, well. Okay, I got hurt, too. And I changed conferences, so we're going to put all this shit in an equation.
Starting point is 01:29:11 When we're talking about motherfucking... I changed conferences, and I had two Michael Jackson surgeries. God damn it. You kept playing. Well, that's what I said. I mean, I said that. Like, no, you can't. Let's bring this forward to this current season.
Starting point is 01:29:23 So, like I said, Kawhi got that three-year, $153 million extension back in January. PG wasn't necessarily pleased about that, ended up going to Philly. Will the Clippers regret picking Kawhi over PG? Man, I want that same talk for PG and them this year. I want the same talk. We're going to be watching Jimmy and all of them this year.
Starting point is 01:29:41 I want that same talk. Please, I want to see what they do this year. Because you're going to hold that nigga accountable like that? Your guy ain't even going to be healthy for the start of the season. I'm going to say both just because you know Kawhi's injury history. I understand the one that locked him up. I think it's that more than the other one. Then before the All-NBA team because the bread would have been way more.
Starting point is 01:30:01 That's my resume. But we're going into training camp now again, and he's still dealing with situations and issues and they're opening the Intuit dome. 1,100 bathrooms. Are they going to be in use? Yeah, they're going to be in use. So we asked the chat
Starting point is 01:30:19 why overrated? D. Rose is not doing that. D. Rose is not doing that. From this past season? We asked the chat, is Kawhi overrated. He overrated. He rose and is not doing that. From this past season? We asked the chat if Kawhi overrated. 63% said no. Know what? That he's not overrated.
Starting point is 01:30:34 That Kawhi's not overrated. He just hurt. I don't even buy that. I hate that phrase. I fucking hate that phrase. Injury prone. I fucking hate that phrase. Injury prone? Injury prone. No, I fucking hate it.
Starting point is 01:30:48 I hate that phrase with a passion. Fucking injury prone. No, I fucking played hard. I fucking... I played hard and I had to get fucking surgery because I played hard. I wasn't injury prone. I missed games because I played hard. Like, no.
Starting point is 01:31:05 Not facts. This motherfucker works out hard as a motherfucker. His car, Wild Leonard, his shit is deteriorating. He fuck out, works out too hard. The Clippers know his medicals, and they still gave him that extension. That's what blows my mind. Because clearly something is wrong. And he's really good, and they see the work he put in.
Starting point is 01:31:23 You know why? Because who else are you going to give it to? If they see the work he put in, he might really fucking do it. He works his ass off. That's the problem.
Starting point is 01:31:29 I didn't know that. See, the Clippers, we're looking at the injuries and not missing games. The Clippers is looking at a motherfucker in the gym 24-7. Too much.
Starting point is 01:31:36 Right? They're looking at Kawhi Leonard sitting there in his quiet-ass gym all day on his leg working out in his quiet gym.
Starting point is 01:31:43 Go home for 30 minutes, come back. Like, They might as well call the motherfucking practice facility the claw. The claw. Because he's in the board with all the workers, so when you're talking about paying somebody... Who else you gonna pay? It's like...
Starting point is 01:31:57 I know he gets injured, but I can't... But when he's not... It's gonna click one time. It's gonna click one time. But when he's not injured, Rashad, he's one of the best players in the league. The fact that he likes to gym quad is funny. Don't make no noise here. No more radio playing. That shit wild.
Starting point is 01:32:18 The fucking street is not going to start. I put it on the street and y'all just 30. Second team on NBA last year. He made second team. Why y'all still talking to him about this? I was just 30 Talking about this Just name four dudes that don't have a chance to ship this better quality Master McKay's his birthday. Can you master McKay? The honorable Rashad McKay's to get all the way to the crib he never can take you all the way home he did just wanted to go to the store and back and was the mvp i want to go to the store and back you can't get me back
Starting point is 01:32:53 i gotta keep taking this to the auto shop and then they keep coming back to me like something else that come to the gym every day so huh i said you will get you will get extra money by coming to the gym every day. Huh? I said, you will get extra money by coming to the gym. I got to keep taking my car. I got to keep taking my car. The more they see you, the more they see you around that motherfucker. They keep in track of it. They always do. Even though they say they don't.
Starting point is 01:33:14 They keep in track of it. They keep in track of it. They keep in track of it. I'm tired of them keeping track of this car. They got something on the court. I paid too much money for this car. You keep in the shop. Why do I every time I come in the shop,
Starting point is 01:33:27 there's something wrong with my motherfucking car that wasn't wrong with it yesterday? They can see what's wrong. They can see what the car's doing. I got to stop buying booted. I mean, at the end of the day, they like, we'll rather pay this one than that one. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:33:43 Who else are you going to pay? No, what I'm saying is, we're watching, okay, one's healthy, one's not. He's always injured. We gotta take him to the shop, and they're like, we're gonna pay this one. Ah! Ah! There's him.
Starting point is 01:33:58 I know you want the money, you think you're worth more than him, but... Our camera system says he's in here 24 7, and we're going to keep trying. And Paul George don't get the game. Sometimes you start working somewhere, and you make less money than whoever that dude is right there, you are never going to make as much or more money than that dude.
Starting point is 01:34:17 I can give you a list of people that I used to work at different places with, and no matter what happened, I will never make as much money as those people. That's the game. He's like, well, y'all can just pay me as much as Kawhi. Look at that guy. You hear what Paul just said? He said we can pay him
Starting point is 01:34:32 as much as Kawhi. When he got a bigger bag in Philly though, so he was able to find somebody to do that. Somebody else. Somebody is not crazy. Somebody else that's not looking at their camera system. Kawhi was available. You think they wouldn't have got him? I'm just saying, man. If he was available, you think they wouldn't have got him? I'm just saying, man. If he was available, you think they wouldn't have picked him up over PG?
Starting point is 01:34:49 Who was available? In Philly. If Kawhi wasn't free agent. Like PG or Kawhi. Hell, if they not have him and B on the team together, fuck, it's a lose-lose. Right as far as injuries. But PG wasn't. Come to the playoffs, you ain't got neither one of them motherfuckers available.
Starting point is 01:35:06 But he wasn't healthy neither, though. More healthy than Kawhi? Hey, man, the owner know why he paid him. You know what I mean? He got the money. Who cares? Good for him. He's looking at something we can't see.
Starting point is 01:35:20 It's usually what we see out of hours. Yeah, he's in surgery. He's just coming out. Is this 47? Again. Is this 47? Again. But what does surgery mean in this case, right? Like, all they say is that he had a surgery. We don't know. It's a range of surgery.
Starting point is 01:35:32 He just don't want to go to training camp. Okay, look. We hear that he had a surgery after they had to clean up the fact that he didn't make the USA team based on him limping and being hurt originally. So this is crisis PR. They're cleaning it up. Because at the end of the day, if he don't show up
Starting point is 01:35:47 for training camp and we don't hear nothing about it and he hurt, they got to spill the beans. Now they look really bad. They jumping ahead of this shit. He not going to be available. Okay, they just said that. Yeah, he not going to be available. He's always hurt. And they paid him.
Starting point is 01:36:00 In the second team, all NBA. He can't always be hurt. Not being available in the second team, all NBA. You tried't. Overrated. He hurt. I'm being available. Second team in the NBA. You tried to go play. You tried to go play USA and then found out it wasn't me. He's second team in the NBA. He's a small game shot. I don't care.
Starting point is 01:36:14 Second team in the NBA is nuts. I'm going to let it go. 14 games. 14 games last year. Y'all put so much emphasis on this Olympic shit. Who cares? Right? Be overrated.
Starting point is 01:36:24 I mean, shit, that means a lot of things. Everybody else, my friend, is quick basketball. We're going to start. is on this olympic shit who cares right all right be over it be overrated all right man i mean shit that means a lot of basketball we're gonna start a lot of people hot shit all right well just quit the game because before we move on but monty we got you here obviously worked at esp in a long time i gotta get your take on a question woge announced his retirement recently what are your thoughts on Woj retiring? We've been having this debate for the past few weeks trying to figure out really what's going down, or since the news broke. Making somewhere in the range six, seven million dollars a year, retires to go become the general manager of the St. Bonaventure's men's basketball team.
Starting point is 01:36:57 What's your take on that whole situation? It's a club pickleball team. I mean, that is a very good question. How do you make yourself choke on your own joke? No, my bad. Yeah, please. Because his face like. He really didn't know. He really believed what I was saying.
Starting point is 01:37:17 My bad, y'all. I mean, look, if you need to make a change in that way, then you go ahead and do it. I, myself, personally, I don't think I would be in the position to make a $7 million change like that, right? But I don't have his job. I wouldn't want that job for anything. Just the demand of always being on. And, like, the last time I saw him was at Summer League. And we're having a conversation, but you can't have a conversation with Adrian because he's always right there like his whatsapp is open and even he's
Starting point is 01:37:48 talking to you he's trying to give me props on something to be very nice and he can't stop because there's a general manager on his phone the whole way so maybe he wants to stop I saw somebody hypothesize and I don't know if this is true and this is just a guess right I don't have no information on it but if he is learning how to be an executive because one day he could come back over to this side, he knows enough people in front offices that maybe he could wind up there, right? I don't know. But I feel like...
Starting point is 01:38:12 Maybe he'll snitch on himself. Look, my thing is, you make stupid money when it's stupid not to take the money. And most people will say it would be stupid not to take $7 million. Like, that is stupid money. I would have taken that $7 million until the end. First time down.
Starting point is 01:38:24 But I'm not him. Phone in the shower. So he's going to what is it okay just just i just want to think about this so he's gonna go try to be an executive on the sport he really don't know because he just gets all his information to come back here to make decisions on a sport that he really don't know because usually he gets his information from somebody else. So he's going to be a general manager getting what information from another general manager or how to be a general manager? I mean, it wouldn't be the first time somebody made a bet. It wouldn't be the first time. But hey, King, I'm thinking about trading this guy.
Starting point is 01:38:58 What do you think? No, yeah. But the thing about Adrian is, man, leveraging power, he's good at that. Right? Makes sense. Like having those people and making it work and getting to where you need to be, he's really good at that. And so maybe, I don't know, but it was shocking to me that he didn't just say, I'm leaving
Starting point is 01:39:18 my job. He's tired. You don't want no problems with Rome, right? Trust me. No problems. And this is the problem why we, the problem is exactly what you said. He's great at leveraging power, like a lot of people
Starting point is 01:39:33 in certain positions. You do not know what you're doing. You just have power. It's like giving me power to run this country. You don't want roads. I don't know what the fuck I'm doing, but I'm going to just do it, because I got the connections to do it. And that's the problem with the NBA. I don't know if it's like that in football, but in the NBA, there's a lot of people in
Starting point is 01:39:59 these positions that have no idea what they're doing, but they know a friend of a friend. My best friend is dating the owner, and I got the job, and I used to work at Kinko's, and now I'm the owner of an NBA team, and then I'm making decisions based off what? That's a lot of industries. But you'd be shocked right now how many of those executives will call, like,
Starting point is 01:40:23 the Woj class, the Stephen A class and be like hey, so we're thinking about dot dot dot. What do you think we should do right now? And if you get enough of those calls, you start thinking you can do that, right? And again, I don't know if that's what's happening with him, but I can see how you can tell yourself that you can do that.
Starting point is 01:40:40 Imagine being general manager. I know you've never been to one of my practices in 20 years, but what should I do about this player? I know you don't know my playbook because you've never been to none of my practices. You never talked to none of my coaches. You never looked at any of the film to scout a person, but what should I do against this
Starting point is 01:41:07 team the fact that if he drops it if he drops the kill if he drops a kill for What the hell you talking about? Hey, Gil, what the hell you talking about? Y'all got it wrong. Y'all forgot it. For him to get the bomb on Gil, Gil has to call him first. No, no, no, no. Somebody else can call him. Somebody else. That somebody else is Swaggy P? Somebody else has to call him.
Starting point is 01:41:40 I'll call him. I'll call that motherfucker. That motherfucker's Billy Madison. Billy Madison. You got to remember him. Gray cinnamon. Remember Billy Madison, right? Yeah, we know.
Starting point is 01:41:52 Remember dumb motherfucker, right? His daddy was... He spilled work. What word did he spill? Rock. Rock. Ah, okay. You got it right.
Starting point is 01:42:05 Because your daddy helped you with it. That's all this. Billy Madison, Tommy Boy, but they learned. Did he spit rock rock? Okay? You got it, right? Your daddy helps you with it. That's that's all the Billy Madison Tommy boy, but they learn and they prevail Hey, just like you can't Underdog fantasy if you missed out on all the week three specials from underdog. Don't worry. We have you covered for week four I've been watching I've been watching a lot of the right type of Omani Jets. That's a... I've been watching high noon reruns. I've been watching high noon reruns. College football has their discounts for you on Saturday, too. Head over to Underdog App, use promo code GIL to get $1,000 in bonus cash and all these special promos. All right, well, let's talk a little bit about Lakers. It's been a while. Can y'all know
Starting point is 01:42:50 one of your favorite subjects? I know. I know you've been itching for it. So, LeBron is arguably the greatest player of all times in 5-on-5 basketball, but what do his ones look like? Austin Reeves made an appearance on the Busted Jack Golf Show recently and discussed why he's
Starting point is 01:43:05 never played against LeBron one-on-one. I'll play anybody one-on-one. I'm not saying I'm going to win, but I'll play anybody one-on-one. Have you played him one-on-one? No, he don't play one-on-one. He said one-on-one's not real basketball, which I kind of agree with.
Starting point is 01:43:23 No, that's what his voice said. So, what do y'all think about Austin Reeves saying LeBron doesn't like to play one-on-one because it's not real basketball? I can see him saying that. He probably could have kept that contact. Because he don't have a one-on-one game. He don't have a one-on-one game. Like, that's not his game.
Starting point is 01:43:37 Say it again. I mean, I can see that. I can see him saying that. It's not something that he, you know, he... That's not something that can make you the greatest of all time. No, it's not that. It can see what I'm saying. It's not something that he, you know, he... That's not something that can make you the greatest of all time. No, it's not that. It's just that's just not what he's... Like he doesn't come down and just plays one on one off.
Starting point is 01:43:51 I mean, him busting Osprey's ass, what does that do for him? And that, I remember there was... I mean, I could... I don't know what day that came out when someone said Hooper or... What was it? Score. Score or Hooper. And then I'm like, that's confusing
Starting point is 01:44:05 because there was a category called basketball players. And wouldn't he fit into basketball players, guys who don't do all the foolery? You put them on a five-on-five setting and that's when their brains kick in? Somebody like Jokic, right? Do you think Jokic looked great in one-on-one? Do you think great? Think about what I'm saying. Ron has the most points? Do you think Jokic looked great in one-on-one? Do you think great?
Starting point is 01:44:26 Think about what I'm saying. Ron has the most points in history. He's not a scorer. Do you think Jokic looked amazing in one-on-one in a draft? Yes. Yes, right? And he got picked 40 what, five? 41.
Starting point is 01:44:41 41. So do you think this man's one-on-one skill looked amazing in one-on-one and playing against somebody? No. Right? No. Because he's a five-on-five player. That's a different player.
Starting point is 01:44:55 I'm okay with that. There's just guys that are just, you put them in a basketball setting, how they were taught basketball. This is how it is. We got five-on-five. We got rip. Like, their game, this is. This is how it is. We got five on five. We got rip. Like, their game, this is... One-on-one help you, though.
Starting point is 01:45:08 One-on-one is a selfish person. But he don't play one-on-one because he don't want to lose. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, like, that's what I'm saying, too. He gained nothing. He gained nothing. He's supposed to win,
Starting point is 01:45:20 and if he loses, it's a problem. You get no game. That's not your problem. Yeah, but that's not his game, though. It's never been his game. So, but it's a problem. You get no game. That's not your game. That's not his game, though. It's just one on one is not his game. So it's one on one not real basketball like all the rest of the team. That's why he ain't worked on his game.
Starting point is 01:45:30 I'm not saying it's not real basketball, but that's just certain people just can't. That's real basketball. It seems to be the one thing we always resort back to when we're given a hard question about team. Roll the ball out. Always. One on one is real basketball.
Starting point is 01:45:43 Always is the one thing we come to separate actual players. Oh, let's not talk about team. We're talking about one on one. One on one. The play five on five. Now it don't fucking matter. Now we talk about a nigga and it don't fucking matter. One on one don't matter because it ain't real basketball no more.
Starting point is 01:46:00 Y'all can get the fuck out of here. You know who the number one one on one king was? Mike. That's what I'm saying. You know who the number one one-on-one king was? Mike. That's what I'm saying. You know who the number one? Spencer did. My boo. They didn't question it.
Starting point is 01:46:09 You know. No, he didn't say Kobe. No, everybody know. Everybody know. Before Mike, everybody knew. Before Michael Jordan came in and created this, we see you as an individual, who was the one-on-one king then there wasn't ideas all so because it was just pure basketball no it's because there wasn't one because it was pure
Starting point is 01:46:30 basketball because no one claimed king that's why mike was able to just step right into that they played best basketball oh yeah this your king not even you think you think magic johnson is a great one-on-one basketball player larry bird you're gonna call a lot of fouls but maybe larry bird was for sure one. I mean, we don't know. They never played. We never heard the play. Larry Bird was mixing it because he got a whole 20-minute mix of mixes.
Starting point is 01:46:51 He mixed them in 5-on-5. In a 5-on-5. In a 1-on-1 though. If we look at your pitch right now, we would think he's a 1-on-1 basketball player because how he plays the game when he's 1-on-1 doesn't mean when you take everybody else and he don't have the other options
Starting point is 01:47:08 we don't know what he looks like. What? If you look at the game, you know they can play one-on-one. If you can look at Brandon game and say he could be good at one-on-one. If you say you're the best of all time and we play one-on-one and you say I'm not going to play, how could you be the best? You can look at your game and say you're good at one-on-one. If we all here, we all
Starting point is 01:47:24 claim to be the best and we all say we're going to play one-on-one. If we all here, we all claim to be the best, and we all say we're going to play one-on-one to be the best, and you say, nah, I'm chilling. Y'all go ahead. And like, what do you mean? Nah, I don't play one-on-one. I'm not just going to do a one-on-one game to prove it. I don't play one-on-one.
Starting point is 01:47:32 What you mean? But this is for who the best is. The best one-on-one player. This is the best one-on-one. That's how you want it. So whatever I say. So whatever I say. So who's the best one-on-one?
Starting point is 01:47:41 If you play one-on-one, damn it. I said it before the show. Now we're talking about team now. It's going to be somebody who you ain't going to see. So? KB is playing one-on-one. I said it before the show. Now we're talking about team now. It's going to be somebody who you ain't going to see. It's going to be a motherfucker who's going to listen. It's going to be a motherfucker. It's going to be the 278th guy that ain't nobody thought of in the NBA. Well, let me ask you this, right?
Starting point is 01:47:56 KB is playing one-on-one every day. I feel like the difference between Mike and Kobe and LeBron. LeBron likes winning. Michael Jordan likes beating people. It's not simply like I'm trying. Michael Jordan would not enjoy winning at Solitaire or winning at no video game against computer. He wants to beat people.
Starting point is 01:48:12 He is a sociopath. He wants you to lose. I don't think LeBron is built in that way. Kobe's the same way. He wants you to lose. A one-on-one is not so much about winning as much as I want to beat this person that is directly across. Does Mike want to win as much as I want to beat this person that is directly Oh, so you might want to win it. He wants you to lose they despise losing. Yes, like they'd like
Starting point is 01:48:31 Competitive do they just do the spies you losing? Yeah, they don't know nothing like despises the might despise Lou. So he wants to win at all costs He's gonna beat you at no matter what like that's right and the fact that he would cheat And everything. He would cheat at everything. Absolutely. Just this. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:48:49 Game on the line, they not gonna give you an upper hand no matter what. Magic the same way though. Same way. That shit was a BSL. I mean he was just cheating you though, but he wasn't a one on one. Just fucking cheating. Cheating for game. Up top.
Starting point is 01:49:01 Up top. Every playoff is game. Tell them they tippy toeing around what you talking about. Game point. You matched up at UCLA every time. You a nerd. You ain't winning no game. Up top. I'm top. Every playoff is game. Tell them they tippy-toeing around what you're talking about. Game point. You're matched up at UCLA every time. You a nerd. You ain't winning no game. I'm top.
Starting point is 01:49:09 Tell them they tippy-toeing. We be hitting all the time. They like this. They tippy-toeing. If we hooping and we bumping and we one-on-one and one nigga out of the crew not hooping with us, you not looking at him crazy? He's scared. That's all I wanted to know, bro.
Starting point is 01:49:24 That's all I wanted to know. That's all I wanted to know. One-on-one scared that's all i wanted to know bro that's all i want to know we all can't get a hill can't get a hill just playing he's like nah y'all got that i'm cool that's not real basketball y'all know if a nigga say if a nigga say that ain't my original state they make they're making my original statement let's get the floor wet i mean some people are great some people are great at one-on-one you say what I'm saying is some people are great at playing one-on-one and being basketball players some guys are just fucking one-on-one players and can't play basketball it ain ain't Kobe. So you can be a great one-on-one god.
Starting point is 01:50:07 I think they have a tournament that's called King of the Hill. See? Right? Bad motherfuckers out there. Didn't T-Mac do something like that? Yeah, he has a basketball there. Can't play five-on-five for shit
Starting point is 01:50:22 because it involves thinking with other players that's the shit people that can't hoop say if you could play one-on-one you could play back five on five no you can't move in the nba not everybody if i'm playing one-on-one i can't play five on five everybody what's the difference i can't put the ball no no because it has because I can't put the ball, no? No, because it has a... Because you ain't got the ball all the time. It don't matter. Maybe you don't know how to move.
Starting point is 01:50:50 If I can shoot, I can shoot. When you pass it to me, right? If I can shoot the ball, if you pass it to me, I can't do what I'm doing in one-on-one. You have to be able to shoot, though. So if I tell you to go stand on the corner, if I draw a play up, right, and I tell you to go stand your ass in the corner, and you cut backdoor.
Starting point is 01:51:06 That ain't got nothing to do with it. It's a one on one. That ain't no one on one. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five.
Starting point is 01:51:16 It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five.
Starting point is 01:51:24 It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. It's five on five. Play up told you go stand in the corner. That ain't got shit to do with playing one-on-one. But everybody in the NBA, everybody. You're telling me to stand in the corner. I'm just standing in the corner. No, and I said you go back door. Listen to the whole statement. Listen to what I just said. But you acting like they're a s*** if they play one-on-one. You acting like they don't know comment.
Starting point is 01:51:37 You tell me to stand, I can't stand. I know. Hey, guess what? If I can get a bucket, I can get a bucket anywhere in the world. Anywhere in the world. world how many people that get a bug that ain't played in the NBA that you know a lot How many people in the NBA and get a motherfucking bucket,. Yes. Oh, I'm glad you said like us. You were scared. I'm glad you said like us.
Starting point is 01:52:09 How many people that you played, hold on, how many people you played against could guard you one-on-one? Nobody. Nobody, right? I am less. You probably consider yourself probably top five one-on-one players in the world. I do. That ain't got nothing to do with politics or the coach.
Starting point is 01:52:30 All of that. All of that. If you tell the coach, don't play him, I'm going to play him. I'm going to play him five games. If a nigga say, don't play him, he's not ready. I'm going to play him. What the fuck they got to do with you? Yes, it has everything to do with you.
Starting point is 01:52:42 No, that don't. Because if I don't come in the number one pick, that don don't. Because if I don't come in the number one pick, that don't mean shit. If I don't come in the number one pick, that don't mean shit. If I came in as you, he sucked my nuts on the court. But listen, hear me out. If my name is him, he sucked my nuts on the court.
Starting point is 01:52:56 I can get him to do whatever I want. But hear this, though. You got all that one-on-one ability, right? You got all that one-on-one ability, right? You got all that one-on-one ability, right? If the ball is saying swing and you're supposed to swing that bitch to the corner and you shoot that motherfucker... Next play.
Starting point is 01:53:15 Next play. See, that's why you... Green light. I'm not... Green light. I'm going to get this. If I get a chance to mess up... If I get a chance to mess up you go Again you guys are saying you want You want to play one-on-one basketball with your son? One-on-one basketball. Let me get out this. One-on-one basketball is getting the bucket.
Starting point is 01:53:46 It's getting the bucket. So what happens is you are considered top tier. When it comes to just natural ability of putting the ball in the basket, you are top tier in the NBA. When I first see you, like, God damn, that motherfucker's talented, right? You're top tier in putting the ball. And this is roll a ball out. Get a bucket.
Starting point is 01:54:10 When you got in the game, where did they put you? Did they roll the ball? Did they roll the ball out? Did they put your ass in the corner and say, be a tree, nigga. When it's with you, later in life, score. The only nigga who said, yo, get him. Who's that? Imagine if a coach said that.
Starting point is 01:54:29 It wasn't you. Imagine if the coach said, get him. Go do you. But he didn't. Thank you. But he did. But I still average 18. You couldn't do it. I still average 18. Because the coach didn't like you. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:54:44 It's politics. No, no. It's politics. Because. What the fuck? What the fuck is all right? You still average 18? You still average 18?
Starting point is 01:54:50 Because the players. Because I have to figure out how to put his one-on-one skill inside the rest of the team's function without fucking it up. So I got to say, hey, I'm about to call this. You swing. Now you come up. So I got to say, hey, I'm about to call this. You swing. Now you come up. Now you can play. So you're saying no one-on-one player knows how to play five-on-five basketball.
Starting point is 01:55:11 I didn't say no one-on-one. I already said some one-on-one players know how to play basketball, too. Some one-on-one players don't know how to play basketball. Stop saying one-on-one. It's called getting a bucket. If a nigga knows he's scared to go out there and get a bucket, he can't play. Anybody in front of me I can get a bucket on. Not saying one-on-one. It's called getting a bucket. If a nigga don't, he's scared to go out there and get a bucket. He can't play. Anybody in front of me I can get a bucket on.
Starting point is 01:55:29 That's one-on-one. That's one-on-one. That's one-on-one. You play one-on-one. That's why we play one-on-one in a mismatch. Swing, swing. One-on-one. I got him.
Starting point is 01:55:37 I got him. I got a mismatch. I'm one-on-one. Bye, my mom. And a one-on-one player. And that's one-on-one defense. That's one-on-one defense. One-on-one players usually forget about the other four
Starting point is 01:55:47 because they always think. Oh my god. What the fuck? You said you was a basketball player. You just said one-on-one players forget that the other four players are on the floor? That's incredible. That's why a lot of motherfuckers don't make it.
Starting point is 01:56:01 Why a lot of motherfuckers don't make it on the floor? How come there's this thing called a life man? Usually the six man is Probably the second best player on the team, but he can't function with the rest Players on the floor somebody got us up so they say they six on so they start the third best player on the team Bring your ass off the bench. Because we got to... Because you can't function with the other players.
Starting point is 01:56:29 No. Because we got a defender. We're paying a defensive guy to play in this position. So we'll rather let the... We'll rather let the team get their cohesiveness on and then we'll bring you
Starting point is 01:56:41 in the game and then you get to just... Microwave. Microw microwave microwave do your fucking job Yes, microwave is you can't follow with the rest of the play. Oh, could you? We can see we can see you see you want to show me you want to one niggas when I shit on the line Guess we all gonna be Guess we all be you better We can see you. We can see you. You sure you want to turn the skill scale? And with some of you one-on-one niggas, when that shit on the line, guess who y'all going to be? Guess who y'all be? You better bet.
Starting point is 01:57:08 Oh, no. Hey, good job. Hey. Oh, no, no. Who you doing this game? Oh, shit. Oh, shit. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 01:57:16 Niggas, this wasn't ready, man. It wasn't ready. Hey, see? It was bad shot maker. Who? Oh, he's a bad shot maker. Oh, oh, he's too good. Name any label. He's a bad shot maker. Oh, oh, he's too good. Name any label.
Starting point is 01:57:25 He's a bad shot maker. What the fuck is a bad shot maker? Nigga, who take difficult shots in the game and make them? Ay, Poole, motherfucker, you. Is that called a shot maker or a bad? Nigga, you. It's a shot maker. A shot maker.
Starting point is 01:57:37 What the fuck is a bad shot maker? Because you ask any coach there, when you shoot them up, they'll be like, god damn. Just because y'all can't do it is a bad shot? Yes. It's a horrible shot. But you can do it. You can do it'all can't do it. It's a bad We practice this shit go
Starting point is 01:57:57 Why does it go in Hold on one second I'm not good enough at basketball to put this in this conversation. That's why I'm just sitting over here and minding my own business. For argument's sake, today's game was the style that he played. Absolutely. Right? Back then, it was more team. And a player like him did not fit because they were too scoring-minded.
Starting point is 01:58:26 Now it's easier because now you can go and say, here, just get the ball and you just dominate. So the guys who are just scorers, you just four out, five out. We don't need no plays. So we don't have to drop a whole bunch of plays. Just give them the ball and then just go score. And that's where the NBA is now. The NBA now is allowing players who just have specialties
Starting point is 01:58:48 to live inside the game and don't have to be real full team guys. You can be a specialty guy and then we can just function. Just go, zipper up and go. That's the game now. It wasn't the game then. So he got penalized more
Starting point is 01:59:03 for being the zipper up and let someone say, hey, no, hey, zipper up. Boom. All right, we'll call a fake play over here. Zipper up. Boom. All right. Just go down the side. Oh, and we can loop it. Yeah, you know what I mean? So if Jason Kidd, like Jason Kidd, those guys
Starting point is 01:59:19 would have pushed your talent to another level. A coach doesn't see, a coach wants safe players. Well, let me ask you this. It's like Bowles Highland. I ask you this sincerely. You did not view yourself as a one-on-one player at your peak. No, I had the one-on-one skill when I was a basketball player.
Starting point is 01:59:38 So I didn't have the ball in my hand. I was in a Princeton. So same offense. Most of the time it's backdooring, reading, cutting, slashing. So that was my offense, but I was a one-on-one player too. You became a basketball player when you got signed. First couple games and go to state.
Starting point is 01:59:53 One-on-one all the way down. Get the ball, go one-on-one all the way down. No, but I'm saying it's one-on-one. Like in high school I had a basketball court. In college I had to survive with four All-Americans. No plays was called for me, so it was backdoor, running the court. So I had a basketball court. College, I had to survive with four All-Americans. No players was called for me, so it was back door, running the court. So I had to learn.
Starting point is 02:00:08 Him and Eddie Jordan would have bumped heads. Listen, he would have called motherfucking forwards out. And him and Eddie George bumped heads every time. Him and Eddie George bumped heads every day. My 1-4 flat was on the end of the shot clock. He got mad one day and then went to play. He said, Nick, you started out. It was in the shot clocks.
Starting point is 02:00:22 But I wanted you to be the shot clock. I guarantee he ran low post. Hey, don't fuck what I get What don't get for what? Call low post up. I see his I see his foot Like you did you know you you set out a game for him? I set out a game because I know if I don't play he has to start it and if I'm not playing he gets all The shots so I need a coach playing, he gets all the shots. So I need a coach to see him shooting all the shots
Starting point is 02:00:48 so he can be the starting shooting guard. That's the reason I did that. I got fined $50,000. Chess? He did. Not checkers? He did. That was some time.
Starting point is 02:00:58 All your games look good because of me. What the fuck's that, because of me? You busted D-Wade's ass because of me, not because of you. And I also set out to save the game because of you, too. Keep going at else. You busted D-Waze out because of me, not because of you. And I also said I was sick of you too. Keep going at him. Keep going at him. Keep going at him. Get him, young fella. That's me, right? You shut the fuck up over there.
Starting point is 02:01:13 I don't know you. I don't know you, man. My friend. I don't know you. You're dynamic. You too. I just enjoy watching. This is special, man. All his highlights. No, no, no. I'm trying to be my friend. your dynamic you too I just enjoy what you maybe set out three weeks I'm like that's not an uncle in the black community.
Starting point is 02:01:47 Oh my god. I'm just being, OK, we just go, all right. You can't be touching me. Ladies and gentlemen, if we do not come back for season three, it has been a blessing and a pleasure. Put you through college. Do it. Just go off.
Starting point is 02:02:04 Yo, that's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy. So this is not a lot of uncles on the register. Alright, back. Your name is No Chill Gil. No Chill, it's a lot of red dots. A lot of red dots and no uncles. Your name is No Chill Gil, so you should expect it. I went too far on that one. Let's move, we're going to shift this over to Collin.
Starting point is 02:02:12 Uh-oh. Bomani, you know what you signed up for when you come to this show. Oh yeah, and sometimes you just sit up here. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best.
Starting point is 02:02:20 That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. Let's let's move them gonna ship this over to college like oh my you know you know what you signed up for when you come Let's ship this over to college Take a little college football but bigger conversation So after leading the UNLV football team to a 3 and 0 start for the first time in 40 years and helping them crack the top
Starting point is 02:02:41 25 running rebels quarterback Matthew sluka has decided to make his next move his best move over an NIL dispute with the school's collective. So Sluka made the announcement on his Twitter Tuesday night saying, I have decided to utilize my red shirt year and will not be playing in any additional games this season. I
Starting point is 02:02:59 committed to UNLV based on certain representations that were made to me which were not upheld after I enrolled. Despite discussions, it became clear that these commitments would not be fulfilled in the future. I wish my teammates the best of luck this season and hope for the continued success of the program.
Starting point is 02:03:16 So, according to Sluka's rep as well as his father, there was a verbal agreement for him to receive $100,000 to play at UNLV this season, but he has only received a small portion of that bread. But according to UNLV's NIL Collective, this is capped, as they never agreed to this deal, they did make a $3,000 payment to Sluka,
Starting point is 02:03:34 and we're discussing a monthly payment of $3,000, so $3,000 a month, before he decided to dip. So NCAA redshirt rules allow a player to retain a year of eligibility if they play four or fewer games in a season. Before he decided to dip. So NCAA redshirt rules allow a player to retain a year of eligibility if they play four or fewer games in a season. So Sloukis spent the previous four seasons at Holy Cross before transferring to UNLV.
Starting point is 02:03:53 He'll now have a year of eligibility to go play somewhere else for one more season. Bomani, you are our special guest on this couch. Do you have any issue with the UNLV quarterback? Different on the team after three games. No, the issue on this is nobody can tell what's issue with with the unlv quarterback the different on the team after three games no the issue on this is nobody can tell what's going on with the money unlv is insistent that they did what they said they were supposed to do he went back on the other side the problem is there are no rules like we have seen this happen school after school the kid uh rashada
Starting point is 02:04:18 that went to florida and had a deal and they're right before signing day they're like hey we ain't got the money and so he thought he was going to get an eight-figure deal for four years and then wound up with some pittance of that going to Arizona State. It ain't got no rules. What everybody, I think, needs to understand is different people handle where is my money in different ways. This young man decided that he was just not going to play anymore. Somebody going to show up and get his motherfucking money by the time.
Starting point is 02:04:43 Not everybody has the same brain on this. and so the whole thing has no rules even if you put it on paperwork there's nobody for you to go up to and be like hey we got this deal and they didn't give me my money there's nobody to adjudicate the matter and so you're gonna have this all over the place where is my money you gonna have dudes at halftime stopping and saying okay like i said where is my money that used to happen that's one of those smu stories was at half-time one of them cats being like, okay cool But can I get a little more money? Apparently UNLV is better than they thought they would be. Yeah And so people like okay, so I think I should get a little bit more money Somebody got the money. It was better when they was paying them in bags
Starting point is 02:05:17 When y'all was getting paid When B was getting that 250 You know if a dude paid you with a bag, the service needs to be delivered. Man, these niggas was career stuff, and he messed up because of that. I ain't getting nothing. So he said they had a verbal agreement. Yeah, because you went to Europe.
Starting point is 02:05:38 He said they had a verbal agreement. So nothing signed, nothing written in paper. But he was performing very well, led them to their best start in 40 years and then tapped out on his team because my bread wasn't right. I bet you another school came. He don't know those dudes. He tapped out on the team.
Starting point is 02:05:56 He tapped out on some dudes that he just met that he came to play for to get some money. This is going to happen. I want the dudes to get paid. But this is going to happen all the time. Thank you. This ain't old school Vegas. Thankfully, this ain't old school Vegas.
Starting point is 02:06:12 Hey, I bet Tark would have made sure they got that money right. You will be here tomorrow. What do you think? College is crazy now. Y'all made a deal to give me $100,000 That's what I'm saying. I was bullshitting my bread Y'all gave me three and you're supposed to give me three a month. I'm out here cooking But that's like that for multiple people in college though. It's like they could be happening office everybody
Starting point is 02:06:36 This is having a lot because now all the schools can't hey No, no because I can tell you because what's happening to is the teams is like, well, I promised you $200,000, but you ain't giving me $200,000 worth. So it's working on both sides. It's real grimy. You can outperform or you can underperform. Before, you know, we're going to do this for you, we're going to do this for you, come on to our school. Now they're getting to throw all these fake numbers out. I gave you $70 million to come to my school.
Starting point is 02:07:07 Once you enroll there and you start playing, they don't think you have the balls enough to quit. Well, this is my question. You were the first player that has to quit? When I did the HBO show, we did something on NIL, and what we found was that not that many people at that time were actually making money. It felt like the average was like a thousand dollars per person
Starting point is 02:07:25 I don't know how to check it out And so what you do now though, I met some agent somewhere and he was like, oh no these guys and he rattled off the numbers How legit are the numbers that these guys rattle and all versus the money that people actually get once you say they're getting the money That's fine. Who actually has to pay you? Becomes the question and so I don't know how much money these dudes are actually getting. They're telling you that they get these big numbers. It's not regulated. It's not regulated.
Starting point is 02:07:53 Some fools are doing it big, some fools are not. People can have 40 cents. Yeah, made-up number, valuation. I think like $200 million put away for NIL deals. $200 million put away for NIL.. 200 million put away for NIL. I said, what the fuck? Just lying. But look, some of these collectors breaking banks, breaking back.
Starting point is 02:08:11 But, Bomani, like you said, across the board at the highest level, yeah, guys are getting bags. But I've spoken to a lot of college football players. They looked at me like I was crazy. I'm like, yo, what's the situation going on? Also, for the collective, not everybody giving the collective the money that they say. You see this with Tennessee is adding a gratuity to the check now Yeah, where they put a percentage on tickets in order to pay for this
Starting point is 02:08:29 This man they passed the basically passing the head a games of being like pay to play 105,000 in that joint. Yeah Yeah, you can concession and yeah, you can you can... But you can take care of some students. I talked to... Student athletes with that. The athletic department at USC, and we were asking them about the NIL stuff, and they were talking about, like, the boosters and stuff.
Starting point is 02:08:52 The boosters now have the opportunity to either give money to the school or the collective. Because some boosters are like, I don't want athletes seeing none of this. But then some boosters are like, I only want athletes seeing this, and it's starting to affect the universities. If you're the athletic
Starting point is 02:09:08 department, right, and you were used to just getting all of that bread to do whatever you pleased with. Yeah. See, that's the issue. It's a competition. You're not excited about what I can just go right to the dude now. It's a competition between the department and the players about who gets the money. Because now the boosters, they love this player. They're like, oh, I have this company. I want you to
Starting point is 02:09:24 do an ad for this company. Now I don't got to give money to your school. I'm just going to give it to you. Well, they're going to start doing the little money. The little money, the guys, you know, little 5 and 10 here and there, they're going to give the money to the players. The big money is going to build locker rooms. The big money is going to do all the stadium stuff or whatever it is.
Starting point is 02:09:40 That's how they're trying to get it out. And so fans are going to be the ones that wind up paying the money When Amy writes on the college stadiums and stuff now, it was better when agents were coming up. Yeah, it was just because it's 643 at Janet Jackson concert tonight. Come through the drive-thru. Ask for number 16. Ask for number 16. You know what the problem is? The parents themselves, they're thinking the school is paying them the NIL.
Starting point is 02:10:17 You don't want the school to pay you the NIL because you want to get your NILs from outside companies. That's you and your team. When you're saying, oh, the school gave me $200,000, where the fuck do you think the school is getting it from? They're lying to you.
Starting point is 02:10:31 You're not worth $200,000 to them at that moment in time. If you look at all the big girls who are all the big dudes that are signing money, this has nothing to do with the school itself. The school just wants you there, so they're going to tell you whatever you want. But when they're getting sponsorship money, like, oh, we got McDonald's, they're getting it. You come to this event, right,
Starting point is 02:10:51 the team event, and then they accolade the money according to everybody. Right, they're not going to say, we got $50,000, you're the best player, we're going to give you $40,000 of it. No.
Starting point is 02:11:02 It's going to be $1,000 for everybody, and then they keep the rest. All that. Hell no. That's what the collective is. And the coaches. All the NIL deals. That's why the biggest marketable players do not even use the collective. They don't use the team.
Starting point is 02:11:16 When you're talking about Aja Reeves and all that. He's not worried about Duke. He's not getting Duke sponsors. He's going out and getting... Like the team itself, Yeah, he's not getting Duke sponsors. He's going out and getting... No, what I'm saying is that... Get my new balance pack, please. Like, the team itself, the school themselves, they're thinking about themselves first,
Starting point is 02:11:31 so they're going to use your name to get this, right? Oh, yeah, he's going to be here at the Make-A-Wish Foundation, give us $100,000, and then we all split it versus you're going out on your own and your own team and your own PR
Starting point is 02:11:44 going out and getting deals, that's your money. So when you look at some of these guys, these people's NIL deals, these big monies have nothing to do with the school. Which is why when people said that the players were going to take a pay cut when they went pro, it was wrong. It makes no sense. Because they weren't taking money from the school. Who took a pay cut on this chair, on this couch?
Starting point is 02:12:03 I took a pay cut. You did? You did? You did? Who took a pay cut on this chair, on this couch? I took a pay cut. You did? You did? You did? How many people took a pay cut? I'm just gonna ask. I took a pay cut.
Starting point is 02:12:12 I took a $60 million pay cut. Damn. I like the number 111. 111 instead of 127. I mean, I would've preferred the 127 to what, but I'm just saying. You could've figured out a way to like 127. They could build it themselves. Let's go to this side of the couch. Shai, what you think about... I took a pay... The 127, but I'm just saying. You could have figured out a way to like 127. They could build it themselves.
Starting point is 02:12:27 Let's go to this side of the couch. Shai, what you think about... I took a pay... Oh, no. From college? College, motherfucker. I took a pay cut going to the NBA. I can tell you that. Where I got traffic.
Starting point is 02:12:36 I did it. You wanted to throw out there? Like, God damn. They was turning up in Tucson, I give. I heard, whoa, whoa, relax. I didn't do... It had nothing to do with the team itself. I heard you had the Tony Romas plug back in the day.
Starting point is 02:12:51 Tony Romas? What was that they called Arizona, though? Was that the U of P? Was Arizona the U of P? I feel like I've heard about the U of P. All I'm saying is... I forgot. I was going to say, we got two. I forgot. All I'm saying is we had to steal shrimp legs to survive. You will pay I'm feeling on his part. Hey, what's up? Hey, man, you know what I mean? Wait, Trish got legs though, so I was like.
Starting point is 02:13:26 That's what I'm saying. Little itty bitty legs. I wasn't at all, man. They just ain't running fast. So let's go to this side of the couch. So what do y'all think about UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka saying, y'all didn't have my bread. We 3-0 right now.
Starting point is 02:13:38 I'm a dip on y'all when we have the potential to have one of our best seasons in a long, long time. He can't go there because he loves you. I didn't have this type of problem. He good? Is he good? He asking you. Is he good?
Starting point is 02:13:53 Anybody know? Is he good? Who? I mean, shit, good enough to go 3-0. He's actually had a solid season. I mean, he was at Holy Cross before he got there. Oh, man. But he's, uh, so I'll read you his stats.
Starting point is 02:14:04 It is a house. I bet you UNLV was the only school that was giving him So I'll give you his stats. I'll give you his stats. Completed 21 of 48 passes for 318 yards and six touchdowns. 21 of 48 passes for 318 yards and six touchdowns. 21 of 48? I know. 21 of 48 passes.
Starting point is 02:14:19 In three games? In football? Yes. Is that good? But he's also rushed. Not good, right? Okay. Rushed 39 times for 286 yards.
Starting point is 02:14:27 So a dual threat quarterback. Yeah. The dual on one side more than the other. So he got 600 yards in three games. Seven touchdowns. Seven touchdowns. And one pick. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 02:14:38 Yeah. Pretty good. But beat Kansas, beat Houston. Oh, shit. They currently ranked 23rd in the AP rankings. Outperforming the numbers, clearly. Sip my fam. Sip my fam. 3-0 for the first time since 1984. Damn. They currently ranked 23rd in the AP Three and oh for the first time since 1984. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah Vegas. He gonna sit let them lose
Starting point is 02:14:56 But on three and oh since 1984 when I think their quarterback was rather cutting him. Mm-hmm That's that how that's that far back. Yeah. Yeah, so I don't run no kind of him. All right, that's a good boy Hmm. So what do you think he's gonna do you think he's gonna sit then lose? Well, what are you gonna just walk around the yard all the time and just hanging in here should I like to be in Vegas Going to you and LV He's not getting the hookup in Vegas no more. He don't play for the team. He gonna transfer. Right. No one's fucking with him in Vegas.
Starting point is 02:15:29 He gotta go. I be watching my back. He just broke a deal with some people in Vegas. My bad. I forgot where he was. He gotta sit down. He got none. He don't gotta sit down? No, red shirt.
Starting point is 02:15:36 He's not playing. So he's gonna red shirt this year, have another year eligibility next year. Is he gonna red shirt or is he just saying? He said, I utilize my red shirt. I don't know. He announced his Tuesday night deal, so it's still determined exactly what is going to happen. He may just be jamming them up.
Starting point is 02:15:50 So come Friday, if the bread hits the bank. All right, so you know what? You got to sit down? No, not anymore. You can't go back and play. Just get a boy $25,000. $25,000. Do they have it?
Starting point is 02:16:02 They got to have it now. It's 3-0. Because all you need is five games. Somebody in Vegas got it. You know what I'm saying? It's 25 grand. Steve, win. That'll get you at least two games.
Starting point is 02:16:12 Once you get two games under your belt, that's five games, and nigga cannot race you no more. But you gotta... I would imagine... I would imagine him going through these lengths means that behind the scenes, something is already getting discussed.
Starting point is 02:16:23 Because the team said they didn't say there was no agreement of the sort. Now he's... it's a messy divorce right now. You think this is a messy breakup? I don't think he's concerned about... I don't think he's in the drafts conversation. I don't think he was on nobody's draft board. I did not think he was worried about that. Devin wasn't on no one's draft board.
Starting point is 02:16:44 He probably needs about that. Devin wasn't on no one's draft board. He probably needs to study. I think hitting those books would probably be a wise move. He got to cash out before he crash out. You ain't know that. Devin would be beholden to him. He needs that degree. You go to the tournament, you'll see you never know. He'll be going pro in something else.
Starting point is 02:17:02 I believe I saw that in a commercial. What tournament? Let's shift to this side. Do you guys agree or disagree with the move? Should he put team first or his own individual? Fuck you, Peyton. He was promised it. He should want it.
Starting point is 02:17:17 You keep throwing that back at that side of the thing because you want one person to answer. He won't say nothing. You want one person to go against everybody and he's going to say team first because he's a team guy. It's Sean's birthday. No.
Starting point is 02:17:29 He's a team guy. No. I mean, I actually fought for this shit so I see it differently. Like, the privileges that it enabled everybody to have within a portal and have agents
Starting point is 02:17:41 and be able to negotiate where you want to go, how much you're getting paid and then the whole nine yards. I mean, you said playing for Carolina was like being in jail. Yeah, I did. I'm the reason why everybody's getting paid. There we go.
Starting point is 02:17:54 What they got to do with anything? So y'all should be thanking me. You, Ed O'Bannon, there's a few. At the end of the day, you have the leverage to get paid before you get there. So if you don't do the business, and now that it's a few you know at the end of the day is You have the leverage to get paid before you get there So if you don't do the business and now that it's a business you can't complain about the business So now all the all the players are just gonna run away from bad business deals that they've embarked in It was an under under the table deal. You didn't go through NIL to get that money or it had been paid to you So you went under you thought you could trust them, and you, hey, shit, welcome to fucking America.
Starting point is 02:18:27 But is there a difference, though, with the leverage now? So I give you a verbal agreement, I'm gonna give you 100K, but I'm waiting to see how you perform. Now you perform. Well, that's the performance-based requirement that I put in my book. They didn't follow through with that.
Starting point is 02:18:39 So he could say, oh, I'm gonna give you 100K if you perform like this, and still don't get the 100K and you're performing like this. You're not covered. Ain't no contract. Ain't no paper trail. You just did bad business and you got to pay for it. So allegedly, I guess a running back just did the same thing.
Starting point is 02:18:57 He's going to have to keep playing. He want a career. Allegedly a running back from UNLV. Oh, shit. Oh, they got a revolution. So watching, one of my partners, shout out to Prep, I went to high school with. from UNLV. Oh, shit. Oh, they got a revolution. So, watching... One of my partners, shout out to Prep,
Starting point is 02:19:06 I went to high school with. Just watching y'all live. Shit, UNLV running back just did the same thing the quarterback just did. So, the quarterback and the running... Oh, they breaking bread.
Starting point is 02:19:16 Yeah, they got to. If I'm them, I only got two games. I got two games and then it's fuck you. All right? I mean, I'm just being honest. Well, why... And I know this is easy to say because it's fuck you. All right? I mean, I'm just be honest. So why?
Starting point is 02:19:26 And I know it's easy to say because it's not me, but this is going to raise the question. A whole lot of people could have done this before this all started. When nobody was getting paid, this was the way to go get paid. We not showing up. Yeah, that's the way. But it's like, but it's like way to get blackball too. Yeah. But I mean, you think this ain't going to get nobody blackballed?
Starting point is 02:19:46 Well, we didn't ever come into the game and get paid at the amateur level. So now that we're getting paid, everybody's intention is changing. Now you coming in as a money hungry athlete and you're asking for shit that ain't guaranteed to you and you don't know the business to go get that fucking money. But I try to felt like pre-NIL, there was a lot of visionaries that were getting that bag, but getting that bread up front before they signed that letter. Yeah, but you had to give it up front. Now I can just...
Starting point is 02:20:12 I'm not taking your word for it. But yeah, before I want to get you here, here's the bag. Come on. It's called skin in the game. Yeah, now I don't have to... I can promise it to you. If I'm promising you some shit and you falling for it, hey, baby, I'm going to love you tomorrow. I promise. Promise.. If I'm promising you some shit and you falling for it, hey baby, I'm going to love
Starting point is 02:20:25 you tomorrow. I promise. I promise. We good at that. Yeah. We so good because you know what happens tomorrow? He's there no more. Yeah, so.
Starting point is 02:20:33 That's it. No more. There ain't no tomorrow. Your Uber came. It's gone. We can promise you though. I promise you everything. That report you just mentioned dropped at 1219 today running back Michael Allen second player to enter transfer portal
Starting point is 02:20:48 Oh, oh wait. He's in the transfer portal. He's I'm see y'all nigga. Wait, hold on Themselves out. What do you make? Yeah, that's so they give them so let's say they get the money tonight. They can play Yeah, I think you pull out you can come. I think you let me do you want better they get the money tonight They can still do Something something terrible is gonna happen. You just can't But keep running out on deal, that's the thing with it, that's the thing with the whole You get these dudes from certain environments. That's what I'm saying. Right? See, Bo ain't going to say it. No, I said it.
Starting point is 02:21:27 Not everybody resolves these things the same way. Yeah, like, where's my motherfucking money? Like you said, like, dude, some of these dudes are going to be on your doorstep when you get home. Hey, man. What's the purpose? Hey, I know you're the president of this university. Hey, where's my motherfucking money at, man? The purpose of the NIL initially was to be create a union for the actual players
Starting point is 02:21:46 That's not so we talking about actually getting paid. We have a whole union our system for it They never set it up because they jump for the money. That's what I was fighting for Destruction house who pay us properly based on the commission, the deals, the NCAA, all that shit. You do, because now it's all fucked up because you got no structure. This is what happens when you let niggas do business the nigga way. Everyone gets taken advantage of.
Starting point is 02:22:14 Everyone doesn't know what's going on. Everybody loses. It's a very small number of athletes. You can leave whenever you want. Yeah, but it's fucking with all the other athletes. That's all them. They better pay. The NIL was created for you to make money on your likeness.
Starting point is 02:22:33 And now everyone is listening to the team. Because they put the power in the team's position because there was no union in place. You think Bronny James is getting money paid from USC? That nigga ain't no weed. But this is what they're saying. You gotta go through the NIL There was no union in you think Brody James is getting money paid from USC They're saying you got to go through the NIL through the system to get to the players for it to be
Starting point is 02:22:57 Legit deal without that's what I'm saying So the reason why he took that hundred thousand dollar deal and did get paid because he didn't want to cut commission. Well, because then it would just turn into the NCAA all over. All over. That's what I'm saying. We were supposed to set up a structure with the NIL. There's no way. So we don't deal with that. There is. I outlined the whole story.
Starting point is 02:23:14 But it's, like you said, it's compromising when you have to deal with the school. Like, my name and likeness, that's me. Like, Lonzo, I mean, Lonzo Ball, the Ball family. They have big Baller brand. No matter what school they with, that school has no... Fuck you. I don't need you. I already have my brand. I'm selling this to my brand.
Starting point is 02:23:33 I don't need you UCLA shit. But the schools got involved so they can still have that power, right? Because all of a sudden, you guys are walking in with a pocket full of money that you're not giving them. Right. This whole thing to me, the greatest con of it all is the NCAA fought to not.
Starting point is 02:23:49 This is how you know it's like pimping. They just want to keep them broke. Right. You wake up with some money. It's something to go crazy. They wouldn't even let somebody else pay them. And so finally, they just said, fine, we'll let other people pay our players. We will pass out the hat.
Starting point is 02:24:01 We will add stuff, extra stuff to tickets. And we won't touch any of the money that's from our pot the TV pot when we make all the money We don't even have to touch none of this but we gonna control other people's money that goes to pay these players This is all gonna fall apart in five or ten years like it's gonna be a full-on disaster Well, but what money the thing I remember right when I started I had dinner with a prominent player at a college And I was that's like yeah, what have they done to prepare you for these mechanisms? They didn't do shit. Figure it out.
Starting point is 02:24:28 All they did, they kept pushing it to Congress and saying, y'all do something. Y'all do something. We are helpless. We have no idea what you're doing. But even from the school perspective, it was like, look, y'all can do whatever y'all want. Go figure it out. Stay away from weed or whatever shit. We talked to USC last year, and they were like, let's figure it out.
Starting point is 02:24:42 The problem became when these big schools started these collectives started breaking these but look man we all know this some schools just pay people have historically just paid like like you know the list of them so historically all house state football for example was one when maurice claret did that article in espn the magazine all that was legit and this was the system for how they paid people you, some schools started this gangsta shit, as your brother told me once. That's just what we do. Like, there's some places,
Starting point is 02:25:09 they figured out how to do this forever. Right? Dudes selling weed and giving the money to the players, and then they all had it straight. Now nobody knows how to pay. After all this time, everybody knew how to pay people.
Starting point is 02:25:21 And now we don't know how to pay. Because when the crooks was paying people, it had a system. Now everybody else wants to try to make it whatever it is, and now they don't know how to do it. And this goes back generations. Is it because the star player now can move without the team, and usually they need the star player's face?
Starting point is 02:25:43 So, like, let's just take Bronny James, right? All the money Bronny James is making, he's making away from USC. And they want to use his name and likeness to bring money. Yes. I think that's part of it. They also want to be able to tell Bronny what to do, which they can't do if the money's coming from outside.
Starting point is 02:26:02 Then it's just like, okay, what control do we have over this situation if it goes down like that? What I think they need to keep in mind is when they open all those casinos in Las Vegas, who actually ran the casinos? The gangsters. Because they're the ones that knew how to run a casino. Right? Who knows how to actually make sure these guys get the money? The people that weren't supposed to be doing it before.
Starting point is 02:26:24 They're the ones that need to figure out how to get the people the money. Can I ask a question? You got a 19-year-old kid, fresh out of the hood, gets a contract as the number one pick in the NBA, gets $5 million, never seen $5 million before. What do you expect him to do with that money in three years without any kind of structure, any kind of guidance? All gone.
Starting point is 02:26:43 Any kind of advice? All gone. All gone, right? All gone. All gone, right? All gone. All gone, right? All right, so that's a cycle that will start. It's a farm system. Uninformed young Americans that can't cipher financial responsibilities.
Starting point is 02:26:57 You go and you say, well, if we can touch them at the NBA level when they're rookies and they don't know what to do with that money, they're gonna give it right back to us. Why don't we just get them a little bit younger? Why don't we go into the university, we open up the flood gates, we allow deals to come through, we allow agents in, but we don't allow the lawyers in to look over the deals,
Starting point is 02:27:16 we don't allow the parents in to get understanding of what the deals are coming to do and how you just set up foundations and all of this other financial structure. None of this shit is set up. So it's just a farm system of exploitation. I got young people who want to be like the older guys who are still getting exploited.
Starting point is 02:27:34 I got exploited, KG, Tim Duncan, certain... You get to take advantage of it. You take your eye off the ball. But you look at these college guys, you're like, at what point are their parents being taught how to protect them? Where is their protection for themselves? Who's teaching them in what class to say,
Starting point is 02:27:51 hey, when you get this new NIL deal, you need to put money here, put money there. No, it's go buy everything you can, Shador Sanders. Let's go be like them. But everybody don't get the same bag, right? Everybody don't get the same deal. But? Everybody don't get the same deal. But everybody gets the same outcome. You broke.
Starting point is 02:28:09 You broke. Ain't they take business management and all that money? The Sanders is fine. It's everybody else. No, but you're right though on that. And the parent part. The parent part. It don't happen.
Starting point is 02:28:22 The reason I don't do my own taxes is i do my taxes once a year that dude that does taxes does taxes all the time right you if you are in a situation where you got like a family where you don't have a bunch of kids go through the process then the third kid goes through you know a little better you can figure it out but by and large man you're a parent you're doing this one time how are you supposed to know what's going on right like like how do you pick a financial advisor if you don't know anybody in that world, right? What, you just look them up
Starting point is 02:28:47 in the phone book? No, you just cross your fingers and hope that this person that somebody told you was going to help you can do it, but you have no way yourself of vetting this.
Starting point is 02:28:55 And that's where this game is. This game, like entertainment, is so much different than everything else is. All this money, and you don't have a chance to work up the steps to figure out what you...
Starting point is 02:29:03 That's why I wanted to create... That happens with everything everything in life but i wanted to create the protection for the athlete no but i was saying by the time i got to a place in my life to make big money i had lived long enough and learned enough things to have some idea what to do you know what i mean you had struggled enough right right by the time the money i got in my 30s that made me say oh my god y'all were getting that 22 and if i got it 22, I don't know what in the world would have happened. We get the most money at the wrong time. Yep. When we don't know nothing about it. So you look at the NIL, that's what
Starting point is 02:29:32 they're doing. They're pushing the same agenda. You don't see it because it's so silent. It's such a silent thing. We don't want them to get money. We don't want them to get money. It's another name for Pell Grant. It needs to get regulated a little bit.
Starting point is 02:29:47 The average on a football roster, how many college on the football? 85 scholarship. 85 scholarship players on a college football roster, right? They just, everybody's not getting fucking $100,000. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. They just renamed the Pell Grant shit. That's all. You ain't got to pay the shit back.
Starting point is 02:30:09 That's all. But that's my thing. They fought for the wrong things because everybody could get money like that if they fought the right way for it. They would not. And they didn't fight the right way for it. Because now you say,
Starting point is 02:30:19 now it's classism. No, but it's the point that Sonny is saying. Instead of going for the NIL, he should have gotten a percentage of revenue. Revenue. You don't fight for no NIL because now it's regulated individually. How good I am
Starting point is 02:30:33 is going to dictate how much money I make. But as a revenue system, our team is going to collectively get a $10 million check and all of us get evenly split. Hold on, my senior year, right? Hold on, I hear you. My senior year, a $10 million check and all of us get so much My senior you cut us a $10 million check in Cincinnati, I'm looking down the line like Maybe Kenny
Starting point is 02:31:06 Me my senior at Cincinnati where everywhere I went around Cincinnati, I saw my fucking face. You cut the Cincinnati basketball program a check for $10 million for us. Nigga, I won eight of it. And that's the problem, because you're cutting a $10 million check, y'all getting $2,000, the rest of it. I'm not giving y'all black asses that kind of money.
Starting point is 02:31:20 But regardless of what anybody wants, it's just going to be what it becomes or what the splits are, regardless. There's just gonna be what it what it becomes of what the splits are regardless There's no split. You know, you know the names they were using To push the NIS already Oh Zion he ain't even in school long enough to bid he's there six months and he's in the he's in the nba making 100 200 million off shooting the people that they use and they kevin durant and they wasn't in school long enough to even yes they did not think about they just used them your name and likeness this guy would
Starting point is 02:31:58 have made this they didn't even it was it was it was a dumb argument my sister played college basketball you have to have been in those positions to know that you could have taken advantage of car dealership money, TV, commercial ship money. These are all things when we was in school, if we were given those opportunities, we would have made it.
Starting point is 02:32:17 All the jerseys in the stores. Stop looking at that. That's the problem. You're looking at the school stuff when your real money is out. The school does not want to split the money with you. But the school can't make money off my name, image, and likeness. No, yes, it can. Yes, because you signed a scholarship.
Starting point is 02:32:39 You signed a scholarship. Now they're saying you can use it, too. What I'm saying is you can use it, too. No, you get to use it as well, you get to use it as well. You get to use it as well. So if you want to go to your dorm and say, I want to charge $100 for autographs, you get to make money off that now. The problem is everyone's still looking at the schools like, what are y'all going to do for us? No, nigga, if you really want money, you got to go to the car dealership and walk in there and say, I'm Rashad McKenzie.
Starting point is 02:33:04 This is what I do. How can I help you so you guys can help me? First is going to the school and then the school do it. But what the schools are doing, especially in them little towns, is going to the car dealership and they're introducing you to the deal. That's the point of the collective.
Starting point is 02:33:19 We're going to get everybody together. We're making it easy for you, baby. You don't have to go do it. Yeah, so that's why everybody's getting screwed because the school is like, you know, let me beat you guys to the punch because we know you're lazy. We know you want the handout versus walking into the dealership yourself and say, hey, how you doing? I know you was going to split them. I know you was going to give them $10 million. I just want $200,000.
Starting point is 02:33:43 And I'll drive your car. We can do a commercial together how much money do you save them undercutting the school the school don't want you to do that because they want that 10 million dollars is that any different than players associations though in the league like we heard rashid wallace sit on this couch tell the story about why he's not in 2k so by and large everybody's gonna take that initial bag yeah but if i'm michael but that's secondary money you get this play yeah i get it but i'm just saying but that's exactly you ain't in 2k because you ain't negotiating yourself fuck a collective Yeah, but if I'm Michael Jordan, you get this. I get it, but I'm just saying.
Starting point is 02:34:06 But that's exactly it. You ain't in 2K because you ain't negotiating yourself. Fuck a collective, though. Fuck the collective. Like you just said, I don't need it. The collective is thinking about everybody. But that's the difference between pro and college is when you're a pro, you're getting paid based on your performance.
Starting point is 02:34:23 In college, that doesn't exist. It's all about paying everybody equally. Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm all for the educational piece of it. But not everybody feels that way about it. Because it's not real. Just give out the old. It's called losing.
Starting point is 02:34:36 How you say, I'm giving you free education, which means I don't have to pay. Right. That education doesn't require you to pay. Yeah, that's their salary. I get that. But like, everyone got the same salary then because I was getting the same I think I go back to our reason. No, we didn't know we
Starting point is 02:34:50 Somebody got back to you. I got a question. I got I got a question Did your parents pay for you to go to college? No Did your parents pay for you to go to USC? Yeah Come over and drop drop kick me. No. No, no, no, no, no, no. Not the stage. I have a straight face.
Starting point is 02:35:10 Please, please. Not the stage. I'm not in conversation. So without those said universities, none of us would be fucking sitting on this couch. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Yes, fool. I mean that university. Without USC, fool. I mean that University.
Starting point is 02:35:25 Without USC, nigga. Yeah. Without Duke. Without Arizona. Definitely without Cincinnati. Uh-huh. North Carolina. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 02:35:35 Listen, I'm a fucking genius, bro. By 11, 20, I might say T-City. I might have been creating some shit. But I said, yes. Sit on this couch doing this. I might have been directing one of these motherfucking But doing this, what we're doing right now, talking about topics what we're doing I said, yes, sit on this couch doing this. I might have been directing one of them motherfucking But doing this, what we're doing right now, I do with Josiah.
Starting point is 02:35:47 Topics what we're doing. Josiah can definitely sit on this couch together. All that shit great and said, old school, parenting, grandmothers, your mama, you gonna go get that fucking free education that them folks giving you. Fuck what your feelings is about it, fuck what they giving you on the outside, they they may get you a pair of tennis shoes go out there and make the best of it that's the way this shit used to be yeah and that was that was that was my argument what you used to be well just me it's the definition of the term of the word education right so like i was at carolina which i was at carolina and the first time i went in for ta for graduate school and
Starting point is 02:36:22 somebody asked the question it was legitimate it was like so what are we going to do if we get a basketball player, right? Because we're doing economics and it's a hard economics class and everybody wanted to know if somebody might lean on you or whatever. And I'll never forget what the response to Professor Gabers was. He ain't going to get no basketball player. They weren't going to send any of them to us. Right? Nobody was going to
Starting point is 02:36:39 put that at risk. That's my thing always was is education. Because I think the opportunity part, like for you, getting out of South Dallas, going to another place, having four years, there's a value even if you don't get a degree necessarily. But what we mean by education becomes the issue, right? You learn a lot about the
Starting point is 02:36:55 world, but did you, and I'm asking this sincerely, did you get what one would term an education in the way that they talk about it? And that's what I think everybody tries to figure out. So you say you went to North Carolina, right? Each his own, though, right? Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 02:37:08 So you go and you make the best of the situation, right? Like, just take me, getting out of Dallas. My freshman year, I made the D's as I said that. I'm going to school every fucking class. Each year, I got better at basketball. I went to, that's my sophomore year. My junior year, I went to even less. My senior year, I was enrolled.
Starting point is 02:37:29 But had I not got good at basketball and been the same, Kenyon Ass would have been that motherfucker, that goddamn criminal justice shit. Like, what is this shit going to be next? Shout out criminal justice. And sociology. Don't forget about sociology. Absolutely.
Starting point is 02:37:45 How was history? Now, we're both in school, right? I was And sociology. Don't forget about sociology. Absolutely. Now, we're both in school, right? I agree. And this is what I say. And I say, you getting paid is, you want the money, but you have the money, and you have something that the regular student who's paying don't have. And that is being a sports player. Yeah. Because the person you're in school with
Starting point is 02:38:09 who has to go to school and get those A's, when they're going to the game, they're going to see you. If they make it big and you are the hero, you're going to get a job opportunity faster than their classmates. Man. Right? So when you look around, let's say I didn't make it to the pros, but I was a college star.
Starting point is 02:38:30 I have a better chance to get a job opportunity there, there in that city. So my worth, my NIL deal is me being an ex-Duke player being- That's what I said like an hour ago. That's what I said. You don't need a piece of paper. You don't need a diploma to go back to Duke to become. Well, that's why I get on these cash transfers every year. Oh, man.
Starting point is 02:38:59 Stick around and make some friends. Stick around. Make some people that'll remember you forever. Get you a job selling cars if you come down to it. They'd love to buy a car from you. People love hiring athletes. That's what I'm saying. We getting free education
Starting point is 02:39:15 and we getting extra. There's guys that played at Cincinnati before me. Still have the job that they had. Study hall and shit. that shit was hard. How many ESPNs, you know ESPNs and stuff like that, how many, you know all those athletes that's... You had practice at six.
Starting point is 02:39:32 You know all those athletes that's on ESPN and TNT and all that, you know they don't have no degrees, right? How you think nobody gonna make a professional? How you have no degrees? Well, let me say it. No, they don't have no degrees, and they have the same job as somebody who had to go to school for that same degree. And that's the leverage of you being an athlete.
Starting point is 02:39:51 But we don't factor that in because it doesn't have a dollar sign to it. But I'm saying that money... So we can say Shaquille O'Neal, NIL deal, Charles Barkley, NIL deal is 20 years at a job that doesn't require... So you're saying they shouldn't get paid? They're getting paid. I'm talking about... No require so you said they shouldn't get paid they can pay Early student athlete since they sign has been getting money Just the amount that just getting we're just in a different Different for like the amount that you're getting. It was called fucking Pell Grant money, man. It was in a different form.
Starting point is 02:40:30 Ernie had to pay to go to school, right? He had to get an education. He had to graduate. He had to get a diploma to make less money than Shaquille O'Neal. You're talking about three people out of three million, man. That's different. It's the same.
Starting point is 02:40:42 That director says, I want him. It's bad to say that you can get register says I want him They still should be How much money to get on Brady fresh off the couch right Fresh on the couch fresh off the couch. He's talking about winning many of those. But you see what the NCAA did is what he said, is that they didn't touch. He's talking about the greatest people. The NCAA did not touch them.
Starting point is 02:41:10 But these are the people they're using for NIL. Nigga, you go to school four years, and nobody walked through. What NIL, what I'm saying is you went to school for four years in college. What NIL money you making if your ass is in college four years? Shit, did somebody sign for $2 billion? Some college hooper signed the biggest NIL money you making if your ass is in college four years? Shit, did somebody sign for two billion?
Starting point is 02:41:27 Some college hooper signed the biggest NIL deal. Four years? Yeah. What I'm saying is, how much of that? You shouldn't stay on board if you know you're not going to leave. You're so fake. You know you're not going to leave. Why are you staying and getting your money?
Starting point is 02:41:42 And then you'll be good when you leave. But those are not the people that they're fighting for. They're not fighting for the dude who's going to be that way. If a guy is offered to... If they had NIL Tyler Hansborough in year four, he would have made $100 million. How about that kid from Mississippi State? How much money he made?
Starting point is 02:41:58 The talent is going to go in and go out. They're not staying there. No, you're right. So when you're saying people should get paid, there should be a system because the people who need to get the money are going to be there collecting money. Nah, because this whole draft was- So let me ask you all this. Oh, three years, sophomores and seniors.
Starting point is 02:42:20 There's only like two? Like five freshmen. So imagine this. There's only one player that was 23 years old So this is 18 19 years old. So with the being paid right? so if there's a university where your football program is bigger than your basketball program or vice versa and So he's supposed to split the money that Well, that's what I'm saying. That's why it's not going to work. Right?
Starting point is 02:42:48 The swim team and the women's basketball team not going to make as much as the football team. Football team, right? And the collective. Okay, I'm a student athlete. As long as you make as much. Why wouldn't they? Why should you? Why shouldn't they?
Starting point is 02:42:56 Why should you? Why should you? Because we're a collective. No, you're not. Well, yeah, but even in the collective. Everyone has to make the same amount. Just because you say student athlete, that is not equal. Everyone should make money the same amount of money. Just because your shit says student athlete, that is not equal.
Starting point is 02:43:06 Everyone should make money. It is not equal. Everybody should make money. The same way as the best player. Me as a player is making my money. The best player should not make money. By playing on the team. If you're an individual tennis player. If you have a walk-on on the football team, I don't think you should make more than.
Starting point is 02:43:19 If you go to the University of Oregon, right? Hold on. If you go to the University of Penn State, right? If you go to the University of Penn State, right? If you go to the University of Penn State and the football team is putting 110,000 people in that motherfucker every Saturday and you want a fucking tennis scholarship,
Starting point is 02:43:34 you deserve some of whatever they bring it in? If they're giving me a portion, I'm going to take it. I didn't ask you that. Yeah, a portion. Yes, I'm going to sue them. So some of that, some of what they do. You should get a portion. No, you should get what you bring in for your tennis matches. You said the same. Whatever. No, you should get what you bring in for your tennis matches.
Starting point is 02:43:52 That's professional salary shit. The same shit y'all tell us about. If us seven coming to watch you play, you should get a percentage of us seven coming to watch you play. The problem though in application to what you're saying is what you wind up saying is that these black kids pay the money for these white kids. That's really what it is.
Starting point is 02:44:08 Football and basketball, black kids pay for the country clubs. If everybody's getting paid, it's somebody shouldn't be getting that money. I feel you, but on the levels of it, I am uncomfortable with the idea of it's all really almost wall-to-wall black kids that bring in the money
Starting point is 02:44:23 and all the folks who are white kids who, in the money. You had a gold medal. White kids. By the way, by and large, don't need nobody to pay for you to go to school. Them sports ain't benefiting. What you mean? Those other smaller sports with the white kids. You're saying those other sports don't benefit from football and basketball? No. It's the only reason they exist.
Starting point is 02:44:38 No, they have alumni too. They got alumni and they have boosters and all of that other shit. It's not the only reason they exist. You need other sports. It's not the only reason they exist. Now you need the other sports. It's not. Yes. No, it's not.
Starting point is 02:44:47 Research has been done. So many programs get funded by the men and women. There's revenue generating sports. They're able to get better equipment, better fields, better... Like the base... The Cincinnati baseball... Those are all... That shit is nice.
Starting point is 02:45:01 You talking about like... That shit is nice. You talking about like the Stanford's. You talking about like those schools. No alumni. That shit is nice. You talk about the Stanford. No, man. You talk about those schools. No, I'm not. I'm talking about all the universities. The University of Cincinnati really
Starting point is 02:45:10 started making money until the football team started making bowl games. It's not coming from anything else. The University of Cincinnati didn't start making money until the football team started making bowl games. It's anywhere though. It's football. Now, you go look at their campus now.
Starting point is 02:45:24 They got the indoor shit like the NFL, like the Bengals got. The fucking University of Cincinnati football team got one of them on campus. So, will we argue that they should make the same as... I'm saying they shouldn't. Hell no. They shouldn't, but there's no system.
Starting point is 02:45:38 And that's why it's all going to implode. They should make something. It's chaotic and it's going to implode. If you at school don't know the cross-stitch... They should make something. It's chaotic and it's going to implode. If you at school don't know the cross-stylist shit. They should make something. You go to USC. They are. They got a free education.
Starting point is 02:45:50 That practice. I'm talking about waking up at 6 a.m. Don't talk about that. That shit is hard, bro. There's a lot of after school. For four days, you have to wake up at 6. Then pay for yourself. Then go to school for weight room.
Starting point is 02:46:01 Then go to class. Then pay to come here first. Then go back to practice. Then go to fucking study hall. Then you get home at 8 or 9 o'clock at night. That's what you did? Damn, that's what y'all did? Yeah, that's what we did. Damn, I just woke up, went to the gym, worked out.
Starting point is 02:46:13 That's a job, man. It's education if they educate you. That's my whole thing. Man, that's crazy. I was at the mall. You accept crazy shit. Also, but I also think the schools have created a situation that makes it conducive for you to actually get the education. Sitting you down and Fray's shoes. And also, but I also think the schools have to create a situation that makes it conducive for you to actually get the education.
Starting point is 02:46:27 Sit you down and ask you what your interests are. Yeah, right. But don't tell you, okay, you can't major in that. Instead, I show up day one, and you hand me a schedule like, you're going to class. Look, look, look. Thank you. I'll tell you this.
Starting point is 02:46:40 Forget about the big classes part, right? Forget about Carolina. Forget about that. Even if it's a classroom or whatever. Every ball player, my raw shot, communications, sociology, and African-American studies. African-American studies. Swahili. All three.
Starting point is 02:46:53 Because you can pass them three classes without on your head and remain eligible, dog. It's all about your eligibility. Right, and that's my thing. They're not trying to educate you. No, they're trying to keep you eligible, dog. Communications, bro. African-American studies and sociology, bro. That was my thing. They're not trying to educate you. No, they're trying to keep the algebra, dog. Communications. Bro. African American studies and sociology.
Starting point is 02:47:08 Bro, damn. That was my mistake. Boom. You can't do sociology. Do sociology. That's no funny. Fuck yeah. Viggo game, man.

Starting point is 02:48:34 Like the owner. So like Tom Gores. Like Tom Gores from Detroit because he's throwing dope parties. Donald Sterling with his Detroit party. That was lame. I don't know. I'm sick. I remember Tom Gores, like he rented out like out like Noble or something and then he rented out a bunch
Starting point is 02:48:47 of houses for us in Malibu. Wow. So that's bold. That's nice. Yeah, so the Detroit owner. What player do you know? The private prison money boy. That be going somewhere.
Starting point is 02:48:55 They did it again. What happened? Tom Gors. Yeah, what was y'all doing? So we had parties at his mansions, him and his brothers. I mean, it was just all the time.
