I'm trying to see who's winning. Clippers is winning. Clippers is winning. Oh. So can you... Start of the Clippers. MJ on the Bucks. Who's winning? I'm trying to see who's winning. Clippers is winning. Clippers is winning.
Starting point is 00:02:48 So Kenyon is winning right now. We take this shit serious here in Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Fantasy. Just so y'all know, we do have some other things to discuss today. I think our first real show of the week. Glad to have everybody back here on this couch. This is Gil's Arena

You know, so you know it's legit original with the sega sports with the sega sports You might get robbed and representing tough crowd in South Carolina University, we got mr. B Brandon Jenny In the building here with us. Brandon looking at it like, damn, I don't know about Reebok with the sega. That's different.
Starting point is 00:04:11 33, number 33. That's cold. That was cold jersey. That's old, old. It's the bootleg version. Cancel. Cancel bootleg version. The all legit, real authentic. Available in stores soon. But here's what's cracking in the arena today. Nova Knicks made a blockbuster trade acquiring Mikael Bridges from the Nets
Starting point is 00:04:29 and they re-signed O.G. Ananobi. But does this make the Knicks the biggest threat to the Celtics in the East? The Lakers introduced J.J. Redick as their new head coach earlier this week. But what are realistic expectations for Redick in his rookie coaching season? And we'll recap the first round of the other draft that went on, the NBA draft, including the French takeover, Edie going lottery to the Grizzlies, and why the Lakers may have gotten the biggest steal of day one. It's a lot of people on that stage.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Not all of them got drafted, though. Some had to go back to the crib, wardrobe change, and get ready for the second round. Today, ESPN Studios, not at Barclays. Some of them didn't get drafted? Not everybody. No, those got drafted, right? Not everybody. Not everybody?
Starting point is 00:05:11 Not everybody made it. Not everybody made it. Oh, I can see. The one in the middle. The one with his granddaddy suit. So none of the people who actually got invited to the green room, most of them didn't? No, most of them got drafted. Some of them did.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Some were posted in that green room for over three hours, hanging out, and now got to potentially come back today. One with his granddaddy suit. I know he ain't got drafted. Some were posted in that green room for over three hours, hanging out, and now got to potentially come back today. One with his granddaddy suit. I know he ain't got drafted. The one who has the ball, he get drafted? He was number three. He did get drafted. Oh, that's him.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Oh, that's, yeah, okay. That's Reese Shepard, right? That is Reese Shepard. The first American draft. This is granddaddy suit. I laid your suit down for you, baby. I got drafted Rob it's nice

Starting point is 00:06:25 So if you joined us Tuesday and Wednesday, you were here for history, the first ever Gills Arena all-time player draft. Each member of our crew assembled their best 10-man roster. So we asked the chat to put, we asked the chat who put together the best team. Kenyon won the popular vote with 51%,
Starting point is 00:06:42 picking his squad. Gil came in second with 34%. Rashad got 9% and Brandon received 6% of the vote. So we still have two case simulations left to go, but Gil, you have a announcement. We're going to be doing head-to-head tournament style,
Starting point is 00:06:57 playoff style battle. Everybody's team, seven game series. Kenyon is the number one seed. Brandon, you're the number four seed, so you guys will meet in the first round. Rashad and Gil at two and three will face off in the first round as well. Seven-game series. Winner will advance to the championship.
Starting point is 00:07:11 So we'll be doing that over the course of the next few weeks. So get your minds right. Tap in with us. We will have those games live on the Gil's Arena YouTube and also Gil's No Chill. Gil, YouTube page. What do we get for if we win? Oh, no, we got to negotiate, y'all.
Starting point is 00:07:25 We got to negotiate. Send aall. We got to negotiate. Send a check. We should also prompt a lot of the fans out there to put the rosters together. Do it themselves. Make sure it's no funny business. I think we can download the roster that you put together, can upload it up to the net, and they can all download the roster
Starting point is 00:07:41 and simulate the games too. So they can simulate to see who they want. You really played TK. You can download that shit. Get the roster. Chad is demanding that you put the game back on but you gotta watch the show.
Starting point is 00:07:58 You gotta watch the show. Chad said put the game on. Don't worry we will have all those games for you to watch live. We know y'all need some summer content. The NBA draft was a little mean. Summer league might be decent, though. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Depending on where Bronny ends up and what these Frenchmen end up doing. Bronny? Go ahead. He's getting drafted. Go ahead. He's getting drafted. Go ahead, man. He's getting drafted.
Starting point is 00:08:22 The black suburbans are back in Gil's community. Continue. So Gil's community. Continue. So Gil's Arena's all-time draft was the most entertaining draft Wednesday, but it wasn't the only one. The NBA held the first round of their draft Wednesday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This was considered one of the weaker drafts in recent memory, but there were still some quality prospects in the mix.
Starting point is 00:08:40 So France dominated the first round with four players getting selected, including three in the top six, tying Canada for the most players taken from a foreign country in the first round in draft history. The Hawks grabbed forward Zachary Rissachet with the first overall pick, and fellow Frenchman Alixar went second to the Wizards. So for just the third time in the modern draft era, the first two picks didn't have any college experience. Kentucky's Reed Shepard, who Gil was unable to identify in that draft group shot, the whitest looking gentleman in the mix, was the first American and college hooper selected, taken by the Rockets with the third pick. And the Spurs got UConn guard Stafon Cassell fourth overall. He's a Spur now. He's playing with Wimby, so he's French by association. Like I said, they got Spurs to Cassel to pair with last season's
Starting point is 00:09:30 Rookie of the Year, Victor Wimby-Yama. G League at night forward, Ron Holland went fifth to the Pistons. French forward, Tijon Soulon going sixth to the Hornets. The Blazers grabbed UConn center Donovan Klingin with the seventh pick. They're all French now. They took everybody French. They all, they say they pushed us out the paint. They say we got baguettes.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Bagels out of here. I don't know anybody. And the Spurs took Kentucky freshman phenom Rob Dillingham, eighth overall, before trading him to the Timberwolves for an unprotected 2031 first-round pick and a protected 2030 pick swap. So Minnesota also landed 13th All-American forward Terrence Shannon Jr. from Illinois with the 27th pick. And
Starting point is 00:10:09 in one of the more surprising moves of the draft, the Grizzlies selected two-time player of the year, Zach Eady, ninth overall. Zach made the lottery. Y'all was hating. Man, give it up. Was he at the draft? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:10:24 He was low-key. Was he at the draft? He was he was was that the he was low-key? Yeah Posted with Chris. So let's look at the rest of the Little well Great use you go louder. He didn't know somebody on this Somebody on this couch say that Eady was going to lie to me? Didn't he go top ten? Yeah, he went top ten. Did somebody on this couch? Top ten. Did somebody on this couch? I'm not the best player in college.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Some people on this couch said Zach Eady was not going to lie to me. Some people said that you would be stupid to draft him. I said that. Top ten. I liked it, Zach. I said it was a stupid pick. I thought the Spurs were not stupid. Fuck Eady.
Starting point is 00:11:01 I said it's going to be some stupid motherfuckers draft that name. At number ten, watch it. You it's going to be some stupid motherfuckers drafting him at number 10. You're not going to let no 7-3 pick. I believe you said that Zach E.D. will get a GM fired for making that pick. That remains to be seen. And as we can see, that he didn't know he was going to be drafted at lotteries because he didn't even show up to the lottery
Starting point is 00:11:18 if he thought he was going to be picked tonight. Or he was just a big-time motherfucker like he is. Trying to save money on that big-ass suit. So let's take a rest of the second round. Khalil Ware went to the heat. Or he was just a big-time motherfucker like he is. Trying to save money on that big-ass suit. So let's take a second round. Khalil Ware went to the heat. Jared McCain. Nigga was like, I ain't going to embarrass myself.
Starting point is 00:11:34 TikTok star Jared McCain went to the 76ers. That's going to be intriguing pairing with him. He was dancing all night. That's what you call him now? That's what he's called, a TikTok star? For sure, yeah. He's a TikTok star. He's not even a hooper.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Nah, he's a hooper, too. I'm going to let Jay Bell say it. He's a hooper, too. He's a hooper first. Nah, he's a hooper. He's a a TikTok star? For sure, yeah. He was a TikTok star. He's not even a hooper. Nah, he's a hooper too. I don't know. Let J. Bell say it. He's a hooper too. He's a hooper first. Nah, he's a hooper. He's a hooper first. He's a hooper first. He get bucket.
Starting point is 00:11:51 He was dancing. He was dancing to that. That was sick, though. Wait, what do you call him? Huh? What do you call him? A dookie? Doodoo?
Starting point is 00:12:00 Oh, nah, nah. Like doodoo? Nah, nah, nah. He's big time. A blue dog. I'm not rolling. Big time what? No, I'm not rolling. Big time what?
Starting point is 00:12:07 You picking Zach over him, too? Big time. You don't say Jeremy, like, from high school, from his high school career? Yeah, yeah, yeah. High school. Man, I'm going to tell you this. Dancing is probably what hurts him. But he nice.
Starting point is 00:12:20 He's solid as hell, yeah. He got game. He got game. He craves that game. He got like a nail deal. Wasn't even the best player on his team. He has swag. He wasn't even the best player on his team. He got a lipstick deal.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Duke. He got a lipstick deal. Who's the best player at Duke? Nobody. Nail, fingernails. He got a cover girl. He got a cover girl. He's only known for his nails.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Cover girl. That nigga sells products. He moves units. Shout out to the Sixers. Get Jeremy. He got a cover girl deal. Yeah, because he sells products. If moves units. Shout out to the sections get Jared McCann. He got a cover girl deal. Yeah, because he sells products.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Dude. If I came into the locker room, And you're known for your fingernails. Hey. No, he's not for niggas. I ain't seen one bucket highlight. Who? Who?
Starting point is 00:12:56 Who? He gets buckets. He goes and dances. He gets nails. I ain't seen no basket. Don't let your dude hate you. Don't let your dude hate you. I seen him pissing in the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:13:04 And that's what makes it funny. He missed some guy named Ryan or something like that. Don't let your dude hate him. Don't let your dude hate him. I've seen him piss in the kitchen. And that's what makes it funny. I've seen him talk about how he missed some guy named Ryan or something like that. That's what makes it funny. That's what makes it funny. It was a song. That's what makes it funny. That's all y'all know and don't realize.
Starting point is 00:13:17 He got game, bro. Why you think he's getting drafted? He's getting drafted because of his game. Because of the nails. They don't want to. He got game. They don't want to get canceled nails they don't want to get Trying to transition This conversation
Starting point is 00:13:32 Y'all didn't drive because I got nails on They go go crazy on that shit you don't like him cuz he's Feminine You don't like him because he's a little feminine? He's one of us. He's a little feminine? Moving on. Hold on, hold on. He said one of us. Moving on, moving on. So the Lakers may have come through with the steal of the draft, grabbing first-team All-American SEC Player of the Year, Dalton Kinnick.
Starting point is 00:13:57 17th overall. Kinnick was a projected top-ten pick, but at 23 years old, there were some concerns about his age, which caused him to slip. But let's look at the rest of the draft. You don't like older players. Who said I don't like older players? They don't like older players.
Starting point is 00:14:12 They show y'all every goddamn draft. Edie just went number 9. They like him now. He's an older player. He's 21. He's 21, though. He's 21. He's an older player. He is older. He's 21, though. Isn't he older?
Starting point is 00:14:26 I think he did number nine. He's 21. The other dude is 23. Hey, whatever. He experienced. He about to be 22. Edie's 22. He's already turned 22?
Starting point is 00:14:36 He's 22. Turned 22 in math. The Knicks did some maneuvering as well. Nuggets and Sons also did some maneuvering. Isaiah Collier, former number one high school play in the country, went 29th to the Utah Jazz. And the Celtics ended the day by drafting Baylor Shireman from Creighton.
Starting point is 00:14:53 But let's talk about the most important pick. The most important pick of this draft. Dalton Connects going 17th to the Lakers. Gil, do you like the Lakers taking Dalton Connect with the 17th overall pick? Yes, the way our team is designed. Like what you said, R. An older guy who can just come in and play right now. You don't have to develop him, or you shouldn't be able to have to develop him.
Starting point is 00:15:19 You know, at 23, I'm pretty sure Austin Reed is still older than him, but doesn't need to hit him there. A guy who can shoot the ball. He'd look like he played. I'm pretty sure he's about 6'8". Austin Reed, 26 years old. With his shoes on, same shit, 23. With his shoes on.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Same shit. Yeah, same shit. With his shoes on, he'd look like he's roughly about 6'7". It looks like he plays big. So that would be good, a great spot-up shooter coming off the bench. He plays more athletic than he looks. Yeah, he had, what, six 35-point games? Yeah, so, I mean, it was a good solid pick.
Starting point is 00:15:59 You know, when you're in that 16, when you're in that, what, 14 to 22, you know, you're looking for guys who you can play right now because those are the teams. You know, the teams that are like playoff branching teams. So you want the older guys who you can just bring in. So, uh, Connect joining Austin Reeves on this Lakers
Starting point is 00:16:17 squad. People on the internet came up with some possible Reeves Connect duo nicknames. Premium Crackers, Active Shooters, The Cream Team. Not rolling with any of those, Gil. This is not me, this is what's coming from the internet. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Wow. Brandon, I know you're a Born Again Lakers fan. As a black man in America, man, you lucky you light-skinned, bro. You like that? That's racist. I'm reading the name. You're a bigot.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Oh, y'all. Oh, oh, oh. It was a French draft, so I'm a bigot. I don't know how your wife... This might be rough when you get home. Gil, this is the Internet. Nah, you read it. This is coming from the Internet.
Starting point is 00:17:02 You read it. Because I was forced to by the folks at Gil's Arena. Oh No. Brandon, born again Lakers fan, what do you think about Lakers taking? No. No, he's back. He's back. I don't even know who that is. See, that's, he's a Laker fan, bro. He's back. He's a Laker fan. No, no, he don't. Bucs fan. Yeah, he's a Bucs fan. Bucs warrior. I like Isaiah, though. Huh? Isaiah got picked. You're on with Isaiah Collier? You like that pick? Rob Dillon. Rob Dilly as well.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Yeah. So let's talk about another surprising move. Grizzlies pick in Purdue, big man Zach Eady. You want to ask him? Zach Eady. He don't care. Zach Eady. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Rashad, only person on this couch says Zach Eady would get drafted in the lottery, if I'm not mistaken. I would like to comment on the Lakers. Okay. Go ahead. Trash! Trash. Trash.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Trash. You're going to get another Austin Reeves. You get another Mike Dunleavy for your team. Penn Berkey. Just so you can blame it on somebody. You got to blame it on somebody. What should they got then? Should have just went and got Bronny. No, no.
Starting point is 00:18:12 No, man. Think about You ain't got a mimic of your own. You already got the same player. No, no, no. We ain't getting rid of it. Bro, do you see the corner people we have? They ain't even doing the corner right. They don't even know what the corner looks like.
Starting point is 00:18:27 You right, you right, you right. We need shooter, we need, yeah. You right. We was the worst three-point shooting team. We didn't make a lot of threes, so getting three-point shooters. That's his name, Dalton. Dalton Connect. Dalton, he should have went somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:18:40 The Westside Connect? Yeah, they probably fucked his whole shit up. Why? Because the Lakers, they're not a good spot for him. He's a good player. You saw the chain. You saw the swag. He's a good player.
Starting point is 00:18:50 I think he'll fit well in LA. He's a good player. That's a trash pick by the Lakers because they know they're not going to use him. We're going to use him. Definitely. We can trade him too, though. They can probably move him, but the value is already at 17 now. This is not like a valuable pick to trade.
Starting point is 00:19:05 If he would have got picked higher, it'd have been a higher traffic. I mean, a tradable pick. Remember, like, Vando, like, those are corner dudes right now that don't shoot. So bringing a guy who can spread the floor, you know, and J.J. the coach. Yeah, and he got some people to relate to. J.J. definitely love them niggas. Yeah, and we can be at. Run a little fast, a little do that. You know what Austin Reeves was doing last year fucking that shit up in here
Starting point is 00:19:28 I didn't be like now we need to get rid of this championship. Come on What are we doing? Over there like our 15 Darby but clip no lemon daddy slander Darby in the gonna play this motherfucker after all this? Nope. We got Lemon Daddy. He did it, that's why. The chat, the chat is still playing. Lemon and Lime Daddy. That's where he gone. Lemon and Lime. Phil Haney, you put, you doubled down on this nigga, Phil. Shout out to the chat, Lemon and Lime Daddy. Uncle Phil, you doubled down on this nigga and look what he giving us. Nothing. Fuck outta here, Scooby-Doo-ing them. Hurry over here!
Starting point is 00:20:09 This thing will keep disrespecting me. Scooby-Doo-ing them, man. Do you think this is some lingering bitterness from how the Gills Arena all-time player draft? Yeah. Man, don't complain about Zach Eady. Man, Zach Eady about to put in work with fucking John Morant. Well, let's talk about it.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Why not have a start? So, Grizzlies pick in Purdue, big man Zach Eady left many scratching their heads as he was seen as a late round, a late first round pick at best. It was like this. So, after the pick was announced,
Starting point is 00:20:34 Ja showed some love to big man with the scene from Rush Hour. We got the clip right here. Man, that was funny I'm not going to lie that was a perfect that was a perfect he had that one
Starting point is 00:20:51 ready to go he had that one ready to go maybe he knew something maybe he knew something that Rashad knew coming back so Edie two time
Starting point is 00:20:56 player of the year 7 foot 4 1 for 2 from 3 point range in his college career both his senior season Rashad we'll start with you
Starting point is 00:21:04 thoughts on Grizzlies taking Zach Eady ninth, and how will Eady's game translate to the league? Man, pick and roll nightmare. Pick and roll nightmare. Jaron Jackson can shoot that bitch out there, and now they got a high-low. What in there? Big fella can shoot free throws.
Starting point is 00:21:21 It's going to be tough for motherfuckers out there now. That's what they needed, because Stephen Adams ain't got that. Steven Adams ain't 7'4". Go out there and get that shit like Zach can. And he can't score like Zach can. Steven Adams also no longer with the group. Nah.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Zach is cool. I like Zach. 30 and 10. 30 and 10. 30 and... Oh, okay. He's driving. He's not mobile. That's good. Yeah, because he's He's mobile. Oh, okay. He's driving. He's not mobile.
Starting point is 00:21:46 That's good. Yeah, because he's going to get fouled a lot. He's too big. Space that bitch. Throw it in there. So, Rashad, you'd like to pick? I would have liked to see him and Wimby together. That would have been crazy, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:59 They skipped that. Yeah. Good for Memphis, though. How are you feeling about the Grizzlies taking Zach Eady-Knife overall in Adam Silver's NBA draft? And be respectful, he's Canadian. No, who is available? I mean, because their team is, what, going back young?
Starting point is 00:22:17 I mean, we don't know where their team is going. Right? Is Adams coming back? Adam's with the Rockets now. Right, so who's their five-man right now? Is Adams? Adams with the Rockets now. Right, so who's their five man right now, Jarrett Jack? Jarrett Jackson. Jarrett Jackson's their five. Who's their four? They don't got no four.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Gigi. Gigi, yeah. So you got Gigi, Jarrett. So the way Gigi played, I don't see him. That looks like his spot. So that means E.D. has to beat out Jaren Jack, which is not going to happen. Aaron's going to move to the four. So unless you move Jaren to the four and Gigi to the three
Starting point is 00:22:54 and go that way, we're going to see. But safe pick. If they didn't think there was something that was worth picking, it's like Shane Batty and R. It's a safe pick. If they didn't think there was something that was worth picking, it's like Shane Batty and R. It's a safe pick. You got two-time player of the year, no one's going to complain about it. If he flops, it's like, well, he's a player of the year two years in a row. You don't really bat an eye, but if no one was available that looked like they could have really came in and helped, it was the safest pick for them.
Starting point is 00:23:27 But, I mean, if you look at history of players of the years in college, they don't pan out. Nick, how you feeling about that Zach Eady pick? Ashim Tabib. Huh? He's player of the year? Oh, player of the year. Player of the year. Back to back.
Starting point is 00:23:42 I think he was. Who? Tabib. Ashim Tabit. Back-to-back player. But Tabit was all right. It all depends on where you go. He got perfect spots, bro.
Starting point is 00:23:53 He got drafted. He in the perfect spots. He in the perfect spots. Perfect spots. Because he don't really got to be out. Hey, remember it's Gasol. The Gasol boy all went to Memphis. It's a grinding grid.
Starting point is 00:24:04 It's slow. They try to make big. Okay, now, think about what he said. Makes sense to who the point guard was. This makes sense for Ja, too. The pick and roll. Pick and roll. That's the big guy.
Starting point is 00:24:17 That's the rebound. Ja going to be at the rim before this nigga even look for the roll. That's the point of a pick and roll. He going to be setting the pick before he even think about this motherfucker sitting here like this. Two points. That means it's a good pick. Two points. It's a good pick. It's a good pick.
Starting point is 00:24:34 So now he's just a big brick for just Jai. That's what Stephen Adams was. Stephen Adams was a big brick for Jai. He's just a big brick for Jai. There's no way he gonna going to be part of it. He ain't going to set this, all right, now go down there and post up and give us the 30. Hell yeah. What you
Starting point is 00:24:49 mean now? He can do that. What are you talking about? He can score. He can do that. Give him the ball and the block. You think John Moran is coming off this pick and he see wide open lane. He going to like, hold on. I'm not going to dunk on him. Let me slow it down. Go down there, Big Phelps. No, he's coming off. But if they switch off, if they switch off, you got to throw it in.
Starting point is 00:25:07 You got a seven-fold. I mean, bro, there's times like that. A 6-1 on a seven-fold. I used to play with Andre Drummond. Just throw it up there. Throw it up, Drummond. Bro, I like him. You telling me.
Starting point is 00:25:16 If he's going to set a pick and roll, there's going to be a switch. You got a five-man on you, and you're going to throw it down to the big man? In what basketball in the last 10 years do they set a pick and roll? MBE. MBE for sure. Joker. Joker. For sure.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Yon, even Yon. Yo, throw that bitch down to Yon. That's what he's doing. He's playing around. I like E.D. He's trolling, bro. I wish he all the time, but today. Y'all want to project?
Starting point is 00:25:40 He went nonstop. Yeah, he went nonstop. He said that he's wrong. The MBC said that he's wrong. He's wrong that E.D. did not go in the second round. He wanted E.D. He said that he's wrong. The extension of Monday said that he's wrong. He's wrong that E.D. did not go in the second round. He wanted E.D. not to be picked. I didn't say he was going to go to the second round. He wanted him not to be first round.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Why would I want him? Why would I want him? I believe Gil said late first round. He did not want him to be lottery. He said, he is not a lottery pick. He ain't going to go to the sixth round. I said if he does get lottery, he's going to get fired. Everybody's still higher.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Everybody's checking. Right now. Everybody's still higher. Everybody's checking for the mail. Right now. Everybody's checking for the mail. Right now, until we see Summer League. Do you still feel that way? What? They're going to get fired for drafting Zach Eady? This draft wasn't particularly strong.
Starting point is 00:26:15 For them, it's a safe pick. Eady don't have a bad showing in Summer League. He's not. He can't. No, there's no need to. What I'm saying is, no, I don't judge nobody about Summer League because I can tell you this. There's no star player in the league that had a great Summer League.
Starting point is 00:26:32 So Summer League does not tell you who's who. Like you can't name, you can't say LeBron played well in Summer League. You can't, Wimby didn't play well. No superstar in the NBA had a great Summer League. It's just not meant for them. Right? They're out there trying to get the feel of the game, league. It's just not meant for them. Right? They're out there trying to get the feel of the game, and then that's it. It is Vegas.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Out there with a bunch of... Rodney, if you look... Making it. Man. Go ahead, bro. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:26:54 You got it. That first game... The scout up here looking at it from overseas looking for you anyway. Man. That first game was so tough. Think about how everybody judged Wimby off of Summer League and then look at the performance in the NBA. It's not.
Starting point is 00:27:10 He did get dunked on. They were trying to cook Wimby this summer. I was like, man, just wait a minute. I'll look for just the movements, how he looked when they do pick and roll, how he looked to see if he's actually going to be able to get in the game. I just watched college basketball.
Starting point is 00:27:24 I know, that's great. That's great. College basketball is... I just watched... I watched basketball. Just see what he could do. Look, what he could do. Right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Castle and the other dude, big boy from UConn. Mm-hmm. You know how bad the draft gotta be, right? Because both of them, even Castle... I think he should have went
Starting point is 00:27:40 before him. Castle went sixth? Fourth to the Spurs. Fourth to the Spurs. They already got Johnson and Vassell who played just like him. So? Just like him. To quote the exam for Sean McCann. He's a freshman, though.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Yeah. These are freshmen. He needed at least. I got a freshman with me. He's what? What do you mean? He need to prove himself. I have two 19-year-olds now.
Starting point is 00:28:06 No. Everybody that came in the draft, I'm just looking at them like, okay, you have some decent numbers, but, like, now you got to go play in the big leagues. It's you. Right. Now we got to wait three years for you to say, all right, now we're maximizing your talent three years later.
Starting point is 00:28:21 That's what I'm saying. We wait three years for Wimby, too. It's the same thing I've been telling you about. You don't have to wait on Wimby. We waited a couple months for Wimby, yeah. You know what I'm saying. We waited three years for Wimby, too. It's the same thing I've been talking about. You don't have to wait on Wimby. We waited a couple months for Wimby, yeah. You know what I'm saying? He's 19, so I'm... No, we need to wait on Wimby to get to that point.
Starting point is 00:28:31 What I'm saying is you're building a team around him. You're comparing Wimby to 6'2", 6'3", 6'4", guys. No. You can't teach height. Regardless of when you come high school, college, no matter what, you can go straight to the pros because you can't fucking buy that on the corner. You can't buy 7'4 on the corner.
Starting point is 00:28:48 They don't care about that tall. But what does that have to do? If he tall, he can triple down. They care about that. Yo, but what does that have to do with them having Johnson and them just drafting this rookie? Like, what does that have to do with anything with one of them players that he's not ready?
Starting point is 00:29:01 Because a lot of one of them players. Because they already got two guys that are proven on the team and trying to make their way and bring another guy on the team. They have value though, right? They're probably going to send him
Starting point is 00:29:12 to the G League. They're probably going to send him to the G League. But those two guys got value though, right? They're not sending them to the G League?
Starting point is 00:29:20 Vassell's 23 years old. But those two guys, they got value so we can get something for them, right? And Kelton Johnson, 24assell, 23 years old. He's the one to choose from. But those two guys, they got value, so we can get something for them, right? What two guys? And Kelton Johnson, 24. Yeah, they got, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:29 They're not... But they're not more valuable. Castle's not more valuable than them to trade them off. Yeah, they are. Not to me. I think so. My supers...
Starting point is 00:29:37 Not to me. They ain't got nothing to do with you. If you're asking me, they got everything to do with me. That's my opinion. It's not to me. Okay, it's your opinion.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Not to me. The facts is, my 19-year- me. Okay, it's your opinion. Not to me. The fact is, my 19-year-old is more... Facts and opinions. How? What's the fact? There ain't no fact behind what y'all... How is what y'all saying fact and what I'm saying is opinion? Because the reality, they drafted a 24-year-old...
Starting point is 00:29:55 I'm asking you. I was what you're saying fact and what I'm saying opinion. Okay, because the fact is, who did they draft and what is his age? Because you said they shouldn't have drafted him. The fact is, who did they draft and what is his age? Because you said they shouldn't have drafted him. The fact is, they did. Now, there's a 24-year-old, and you're saying he's not valuable. Where is he going? There's a reason they drafted him.
Starting point is 00:30:16 His age matches Wimby. We can grow the next four or five years with these two. By the time the 24-year-old, he's 28, he's not part of this movement. There's a reason they drafted a guy the same age. I'm waiting for the facts. The fact is, who did they draft? Who did they draft? The Spurs?
Starting point is 00:30:35 Castle. How old is Castle? 19 years old. So the fact is they drafted a 6'4", 6'5", guard. Yes. And his age is what? 19. So that's the facts. And his age is what? 19. So that's the facts. Now, what are your facts? He's not proven.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Yeah, you say he wasn't proven because he's a freshman. Okay. He's 19, bro. But a lot of winning guys. That one is champion, too. Okay, 6'6". Oh, he's 6'6". National champion. I would think that my opinion is more a fact than everything you just said.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Your opinion. He's not experienced. He's not proven. Okay. He's a freshman. And you have two older guys in front of him that he's going to have to now come in and try to beat out? How is what I'm saying opinion?
Starting point is 00:31:12 But does he need to beat them out, or are they going to give him a little bit of time to develop? He needs to move around. He's 19. I'm going to be playing for Popovich. It's the Spurs, though. You're going to sit your ass down for two years and watch these other two niggas play.
Starting point is 00:31:24 When has Pop brung in young niggas play. Nah, nah, nah. When has pop brung in young niggas that just played them right away? Kawhi. Wimby. Wimby. Wimby. Murray. Tim Duncan started.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Hey, what choice did Murray have? What choice did he have? David Robertson. What choice did he have? Murray. Tony Parker. Murray. Tony Parker.
Starting point is 00:31:41 God damn, let's keep going. Tony Parker was 19. Fucking Murray. What choice did he have? What choice going, huh? Tony Parker was 19? Fucking. Where you gonna go? What you mean? Like, I mean, that's what I have no... David Robinson started, motherfucker. Literally put to bed because no one was there.
Starting point is 00:31:52 What was the... No, Tony Parker was 19 when he started. The 28th pick. Mm-hmm. Who was the point guard? He said, like... Was it Avery Johnson? No, he was gone.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Who was the point guard? Thank you very much. BD Claxton. Thank you very much. It was the same thing. We brought you in specifically. It's the same thing. Who was the point guard? We're not bringing you in specifically.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Who was the 2000? 2000. I'm talking about, I just told you. Vassell and Johnson. What'd they do? In the draft? What you mean? What'd they do?
Starting point is 00:32:20 No, no. What'd they do? Stats? Yeah. Shit, I think Vassell averaged 19 or something and Johnson made 2000 or 117 or 102 or 102 every Johnson No, but still oh, oh, oh boy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah point guards. Yeah, I think they Jason Hart I've ever been there 20 Terry Porter Yeah, Terry Porter was the veteran not out the legend Jason Hart Jason Hart Terry Porter was the veterans Tony Parker and then a
Starting point is 00:32:43 Lot of bad. It's a lot of bad pigs out there the whole what is the bad? All of them bad pigs man because they just a bunch of young they just fishing. So what are you drafting? What ain't nothing? Do you have to? It's like, yeah, dude, here. Let me skip to next year. What was my point when we was talking about all this at the beginning? I said, if you just look at the history of how they're drafting, right? It's all a bunch of 18, 19-year-olds. The 21-year-olds, the 22, you might find one or two in that lottery, but the rest of those are getting picked in here. So they're going after young lottery picks
Starting point is 00:33:26 because the team that's drafting usually has a young team. So they're just matching. You're not going to pick a 23-year-old with a bunch of 19-year-old kids. He's the one that's on the out. Right? So I'm not going to go with...
Starting point is 00:33:42 I thought it would connect. I thought they were going to get connected or something like that. Who? The person the Lakers got. Who's going to go with... I thought Connect. I thought they were going to get Connect, too, or something like that. Who? The person the Lakers got. Who's going to get them? I thought the Spurs were going to get them, too. He's too old.
Starting point is 00:33:51 I can see that. Yeah, he's too old. But just that shooter with Wimby, that's what I'm talking about. You're going to find yourself with a bunch of young niggas playing. That's growing together. But it seems like the Spurs have a little bit of time. OKC, Golden State. Golden State.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Boston. Boston. You got OKC time. OKC, Golden State, Boston. Boston. You got OKC now. OKC now. You got Sacramento. Sac. Just think about it, though. If Boston break up Jason Tatum and Brown, they don't win that.
Starting point is 00:34:16 And they kept them. And we were saying the whole time. We were saying, yo, break them up. Not no doubt. See what happens when you don't. I've never said. No, no, no. No, you wasn't.
Starting point is 00:34:23 I know I was saying to break them up. Seven years in. And they're only 25. I know I was saying to break them up. Seven years in. And they're only 25 and 26. And they went to multiple playoffs. And they're 25 and 26. Two guys. Mm-hmm. Two guys stuck together for seven years.
Starting point is 00:34:34 What are you talking about? Two guys. I mean, yeah, that was the main two. That was the main two we wanted to build. And what are their ages? Right next to each other. Mm-hmm. And how rare is that?
Starting point is 00:34:43 Not that rare. That's not that rare. I mean, that's not that rare. Not that rare. That's not that rare. Not that rare? No, not that rare. Oh, no. So name me another team that got the same thing. Clay and Curry. Right now.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Shaq and Kobe. The last seven years. They were young. Two guys, two teams. OKC is doing it now. Doing it now with who? I mean, OKC did it with KD, you know? They came in together young.
Starting point is 00:35:03 There's three teams. That's a lot of teams. Technically together young. There's three teams. That's a lot of teams. Technically, technically. That's a lot of teams. No, technically, Wade, Bosh, and what's-his-name was all the same age. Come on, man. What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:35:14 Wade and Bosh. Wade, Bosh, and Wade, they came in the same draft. Same draft. Wade, Bosh, and Brock. Yeah, they came in the same draft. Y'all named three out of, like, 100. It happens. You named three out of 100.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Oh. Come on, man. Rashad, with the Spurs timeline, obviously. Giannis and... There's no... What is Giannis and what is Middleton's age? Huh? What is Middleton's age?
Starting point is 00:35:34 It was well called Parker, but he got hurt. Jabari Parker, yeah. Jabari, yeah. Yeah, it was supposed to be. But what is Middleton? Middleton's going to be around the same age. 32 and 29? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:44 What is Giannis? 30? 29. Damn, Giannis is a grown-ass man now. Man, that's crazy. It's a move-around situation. Is it obvious? It is. I don't see that. I mean, I wouldn't even put Shaq and Kobe.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Shaq would be young when he won his first move. Shaq wouldn't even like 25 when he won his first one. They were still young before Shaq won his first move. They'd be like, move it over here. Shaq wasn't even like 25 when he won his first one. They were still young before Shaq won his first one. That's two differences, 25 and 18 when they're coming in. 22 is 18, 19. It's Penny and Shaq.
Starting point is 00:36:17 The thing is, if you're having, I have a 19-year-old, by the time Wimby is going to be, let's say, pushing his dominance, where he's going to be really affecting the game like a yoke is, and we're going to be talking about, what, 23, 24, 25? He's going to be priming about 26, where he's just takeover mode? You want someone in the same age.
Starting point is 00:36:40 You don't want the rest of the team 34. 34, 35. You're looking at damn Miami when Bron and First got together. Yeah, you got three stars. That whole other team damn near in Bengay. Let me ask you a question. What makes Castle the number four pick? Age.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Other than his age. Age. He played very well. Age. Age. His upside. well. He played very well. Age. His upside. Upside. What's his upside? 6'6". Solid defender.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Very, very, solid defender. Very great score. And he's 19. 6'6". Solid defender. Very great score. What reflects very great score? Is it stats?
Starting point is 00:37:22 It's hard in college, man. I'm asking you questions. Y'all don't have to deflect. You don't have to deflect every time you don't got to ask. But just say, I don't know. Just say, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:37:35 I don't know. I don't know. I don't really watch his game like that. Because you're making up shit based on all of this. Like, he's 6'6". He played defense. He can play point, too. He didn't average 28 a game.
Starting point is 00:37:46 He's 19. Number 27, number 3 for Tennessee, his name is Connect. He's 23. The nigga ain't even supposed to be in college no more. He's a great scorer. He better. That's why he's going back to high school. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:38:01 He's a great scorer. He's a great scorer. That's what you call a great scorer. 22 or 19, if I can put that bitch in the bucket, I'll put that bitch in the bucket. Okay, you know what 23 is? So I asked y'all. How old is Ant-Man? Listen, man.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Just so we can compare. When you want to say great scoring, how old is Ant-Man? 22. Anthony Edwards, 22 years old. So he's older than Ant-Man coming into the draft with 19. He better average fucking 20 if a kid is 19 years old. He's averaging 20. So he should.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Okay. He's four years older. Because you're 19, you're supposed to average. Okay, four years, four years. It's O-O, I average. Go back to school and get polished, bro. It's four years. No, what I'm saying is four years.
Starting point is 00:38:45 How much did he average? If you're not really that guy. But this is how you compete. Because his draft is, I mean, because if he wait another year, he probably won't even go this high. And that's why I asked the question. I said, what makes him a number four pick right now? Y'all said age.
Starting point is 00:38:58 Age. And he's 16. And I'm like, well, where's the skill? Castle averaged 11.5 rebounds, three assists his freshman season at UConn, led all Big East freshmen in points, rebounds, and assists. And the guy you're comparing him with
Starting point is 00:39:12 and the guy he's comparing him with played in Juco College his freshman year. So the trajectory of the two at the same age is one's here, one is in Juco. That's the difference.
Starting point is 00:39:26 He makes you make us put other people down. He can't do it. Don't fuck up. We got an uplift. We got an uplift. You got a result. You got a result. You got a kick.
Starting point is 00:39:36 At the same trajectory. You ain't got a D. You ain't got a D. I'm just saying. At 19, one is here, one was here. That's how they do it. I'm sorry. Is that how they do it? I just thought you good.
Starting point is 00:39:49 You good. You're not nothing. You thought that's what it was. You being 22, 23 in college is not good for you. Y'all don't have an answer for why he's number four. Is that y'all answer, number four pick? Because his age? Age, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:02 All right. Tremendous upside. I don't know why. It's not tremendous upside He would have stayed another year where he has still win top five mmm If they were the one I don't know they got a we don't know we don't know Oh, why would he say one year if he's already top five this I mean somebody say you're top five You gotta take right if somebody was to tell him he wasn't top five. Would you come back? I'm sure somebody did who I'm If we throw not hypotheticals you think he just came out if somebody did. Who? If we're throwing out hypotheticals. You think he just came out?
Starting point is 00:40:26 If somebody told him that. You think he came out because he played well in the championship game? No. I mean, sometimes it be one game. I mean, sometimes it be one game. The last two games, we started talking about him. It was like, oh, shit, Castle, he nice. He been on that board all season.
Starting point is 00:40:42 He been on that board all year. Oh, my gosh. I mean, 11, what did you say, 11, 5, and 3? Did have a solid final four. Who's better, Reed Shepard or Rob Dillingham? I'm pretty sure. Dillingham? I don't even know who either one of those guys are.
Starting point is 00:40:57 I'm going Rob. I'm going Rob. Yeah, I'm going Rob. I haven't seen that. At what? And so they both play the same position. At what? No, Rob.
Starting point is 00:41:06 They both play the same position. They point, No, Rob, they both play the same position. They point their ones and twos. They combo. Rob is more of a... Do you know that Reed got drafted before Rob? Yeah. Why? Why is that? Do you know that Rob averaged more than he did?
Starting point is 00:41:14 Why is that? And you know that Rob came off the bench? Yeah. Yes. But why did he go first, though? What's the obvious? Come on, if you're going to be obvious about other stuff, you got to be obvious about this.
Starting point is 00:41:22 That's why I said the draft was trash. You got to be obvious about this. I said the draft was trash. I said the draft was trash. I'm looking at this. I'm like, how did he? Why did he go three? I have no idea. I don't even know dude like that.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Why did he go three? I know Rob. I'm like, how did? I don't even know he came out. He can't be obvious about some other stuff. I didn't even know he came out until the draft. I was like, who? It's obvious.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Reed Shepard. It's obvious. No, the truth, the real truth., you know, is this with the thing around Rob, because he could have went anywhere from one to nine, one to ten, right? The thing was, what is his real position at the next level? Is he a one? Is he a two? Because right now he's a shifty,
Starting point is 00:42:06 so he's like that. But what is a shifty real position? He's like one, two. You know that shifty. 6'2", 170. 6'2", 170 is not a two. 6'3".
Starting point is 00:42:21 6'2", 170 is not. He's going to be like two. That's Rob. Rob is 6'2". 6'2". 6'2". 170. 170. No, that's not. He's going to be like two. I'm about to say, that was me. I'm about to say, that's Rob. That's Rob. That's Rob. That's Rob. That's Rob.
Starting point is 00:42:27 That's Rob. Rob is 6'2", 170. He is a strictly one. But like, that's the thing. Like Bones. Yes, like Bones. But Bones is bigger than him. But his shifty is, like, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:42:39 His shifty-ness is like, so most likely he would end up being probably like a six-man that comes in and you just... So Shepard is 6'3", 180. 187. With a 42-inch vert, I believe. Running vert. Yeah, and he's playing... He's playing the point. I don't see that.
Starting point is 00:43:02 You see, one is probably... Like that's what I said. It's just Rob is. Yes. He wants one one is probably like that's I said It's just Rob is gonna have to really just Well, it was all it's all fit No, I'm tripping. Um, it is fit Shepherd didn't start a freshman year. He only started five games. Yeah They didn't start it had all they had old boys over there Kobe or something. No the number the number two player in the country Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh my wagon wagon wagon. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wagner. Wagner. So they both came off the bench.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Did Wagner come out before? No. No, he transferred. Both went lottery. Both went lottery. And he started every year. That's what I'm saying about the draft. It's like, yo, if you got two guys came off the bench, both average double figures.
Starting point is 00:43:39 If you could transfer back in the day, you got the top ten. They both topped ten. That's what I said it's age it's your age you're more valuable you're sifting through that recycling pit you're looking through the bin age is for sure
Starting point is 00:43:55 back then it was like you can go to go to the draft profile after they drafted them I guarantee you. They draft people with potential more than anything. No, there's potential. There's potential more than anything.
Starting point is 00:44:09 I know, you know. They think it's not everything. There's potential. There's potential more than anything. There's potential. You know that. There's hope. You know what?
Starting point is 00:44:15 What y'all talking about? As Kayden likes to say, we know where hope works. In the draft. In the draft. You don't know how this player is going to come in on your team. You're hoping for the best. You're hoping that he stays healthy. You're hoping you don't have, like, you know.
Starting point is 00:44:27 That's what the scouts are doing now. That's what the scouts are doing now. What do you mean now? They've been doing that every year. They've been doing that forever. All the high school kids are number one on the draft every year. They had to start doing it because the high school guys stopped going to college. They stopped wanting to go to college.
Starting point is 00:44:42 One and done. And then it's like, well, who do we got to choose from? Because all these young niggas are coming out and they ain't really proven. So we just got to take who the fuck ever is on the board. What's proven? So Shepard didn't start with national player of the year, national freshman of the year. How do you play in the game?
Starting point is 00:44:57 Learn how to play the game. Play the game. I want you to learn how to play the game. All I needed was one year. All I needed was one year. All I needed was one year. You don't comprehend when I say, hey, we're turning down the ice on the pick and roll on the side. How would you know that? How would you know that?
Starting point is 00:45:11 How would you know that? How would you know that? Oh, my God. Y'all niggas can't wait to just jump in. Whose college concept is that? Can't wait to just jump in. Can I finish? So everybody at Syracuse, what ices are they doing?
Starting point is 00:45:20 It's zoned. Yeah, yeah. They zoned. They zoned. If you go to Syracuse, it's all zoned. So what... You can sit in that bitch for five years. You don't know no concept.
Starting point is 00:45:32 You press it, half court deep one... He played power forward in college. What the fuck is that then? He power forward right here in college. Got to the league, had to play the three. Had to play the two. At least he know how to play the power forward. He's never playing the power forward in the NBA, though.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Did we ever put you at power forward? If he don't get your ass. At least he knows what the power forward is. He was a shooting guard. He liked to shoot. He don't want the power. Now he knows. Man, he don't want to wait on that shit.
Starting point is 00:46:00 If you're a real student of the game, if you're a real Hooper student of the game, you want to know all positions, nigga. But a position in college... Bro, I don't need to learn how to play the center position. I'll never be down there. But I'd like to know what the center doing at all times. This is him in college as a power forward.
Starting point is 00:46:17 I just love the power forwards on me, bro. Yep. I got your help. I got the weak side rebound. It is zone. Zone. Now you're telling him his zone thought process got to stop Giannis from coming downhill? It's USC.
Starting point is 00:46:32 It's USC. What the fuck? They not doing nothing but losing anyway. We beat y'all. What are you talking about? Y'all ain't doing nothing but losing anyway. We beat y'all. You beat them.
Starting point is 00:46:39 You beat them. You beat them. You beat them. You ain't beat us. You beat them. Nick, it is USC. Go ahead. Tell them, Nick. Tell them. We beat y' You didn't beat us. You beat them. Nick, it is you at six. Nah, man. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Tell them, Nick. Tell them. He beat y'all too. What are you talking about? Nigga, I'm much older than you. He beat y'all too. You didn't play against us. We barbecue the hell out of y'all.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Brandon Granville. The real deal, Brandon Granville. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That group. That group. Scalabrini. They had a little crew. But again, they had Tyler Hansbrough on me.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Youth is what you're going for in the draft. Scalabrini, they had a little crew. Sam Clancy. Youth is what you're going for in the draft. Tyler Hansbrough on me. I'll show you what I do with it. Tyler Hansbrough on me. Every year. You would take a 19-year-old over a 24-year-old in the draft? No. No, he would take a 24-year-old.
Starting point is 00:47:21 23-year-old. That's the same height. No, listen. That's the same height. No, listen, that's the same height. He kind of got like, okay, the 24 got a little bit better numbers. But the young one, he got purchased. Let's tell the truth. You're not picking Kobe. It don't matter.
Starting point is 00:47:35 You can't say. Kobe was, what, 17 when he got drafted? Yeah, he wouldn't pick Kobe. He wouldn't pick LeBron. He wouldn't pick KG. He wouldn't pick T-Mac. He wouldn't pick none of the greats. The greatest of greats.
Starting point is 00:47:46 If I got players that are experienced... Oh, he did pick Vince. Oh, he would pick Vince because Vince came in older. No, what I'm saying is he would pick Vince because he's older. He wouldn't pick Luka, he wouldn't pick Ant-Man, he wouldn't pick none of them. I heard Kobe say out of his mouth, man, I really wish I would have went to college because these three years I watched. Just because he wanted to go to college.
Starting point is 00:48:07 The three years I had to watch my other peers play and get playing time and blah, blah, blah. He said, man, I wish I would have went to college. He was an all-star. And I would have got to play those three years. I would have got to play those three years. It's different. Kobe made the best decision.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Out of his mouth. That's what he said. Kobe made the best decision. No, what I'm saying is it's two different made the best decision. That's what you know what I'm saying. It's it's a it's it's two different trajectories man if I have a tune if I have two 19 year olds Right here, and I say are you're gonna go to college. You're gonna go to the NBA I'm gonna give you four years of whatever y'all gonna do These two play one-on-one. I
Starting point is 00:48:43 Don't give a fuck what he does. This is a different dude. He's done played against one-on-one. I don't give a fuck what he does. This is a different dude. He's done played against one-on-one players. He's done practiced. He's done his game accelerated. When they meet each other, this is one-on-one and how the one-on-one game in the NBA is going to be foreign to him
Starting point is 00:49:00 for the first time. He's going to be four years into it. He's going to kill him. It's easy. You don't know. When you're a freshman, you're coming in as a freshman. I don't care what age it is. When you play in the league and you go play against college kids. It don't matter who you are as a college kid.
Starting point is 00:49:16 What the fuck are y'all talking about? Y'all act like y'all playing at a Drew League or something. What y'all talking about? That's where all the college kids at. We're talking about basketball, bro. We're not talking about one-on-one. We're not talking about fucking NBA Jam. We're not talking about NBA Jam.
Starting point is 00:49:31 We're talking about five-on-five basketball. What makes a guy that's 25 better than a guy that's 25? Remember, like, Felipe Lopez. Felipe Lopez. This is what they do. They move in. 23 and 19, though. 19, 23, 25.
Starting point is 00:49:46 Felipe Lopez, all of them sitting in college, coming in the NBA. Your rookie season is your rookie season. Listen to what names he gives. If you're 19 and you're 24, rookie season is rookie season. Felipe Lopez, imagine. I want to know what age is a nigga proven to go to the league. I want to know what age. Scientific math.
Starting point is 00:50:03 It's a lot of scientific math. Nobody's proven. I came in at 19. No one's proven. No one. When you come in, no one is proven. 21. Your college resume means nothing. It's a college resume.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Can you read? How about this? I'm going to show you something. Uh-oh. You going. Read off. Read off. You can.
Starting point is 00:50:20 All the last player of the year. You can't go in. You go in. College player of the year. First two years. I'm paid. Then I'm going to get another check. Then another check. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:50:29 The checks are cool. I'm talking about basketball. Y'all are talking about personal shit. I'm talking about it all. We're talking about it all. I'm talking about basketball and the integrity of it all. Like, you know, we play, you know, as a team.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Like, team play. Like, team to win we play, you know, as a team, like team play, like team to win, formulating teams. What year would you like me to start? We're going to roll out the ball, play one-on-one. What year would you like me to start? What year do you want to start? Wherever you want.
Starting point is 00:50:55 We'll start right here. You want me to start with Anthony Davis and Draymond Green? Nope, because he was the freshman. You take it. You start right here. Draymond Green. See him early. No, no, no, go back up. Every year you could. We can start right here. Draymond Green. See him early. No, no, no. Go back up.
Starting point is 00:51:05 Every year you could. We can start right here. You got to go back. Right here. Fuck. Right? So, sorry. You ain't ready.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Hey, so we can show you. We can show you. Here's all facts. Best players in college. Let's see who they became in the NBA since history is on our side. Let's do that, man. We don't have to put people down. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:51:25 We're just going to know. No, let's go. Go. 2010, Evan Turner. Okay. Player of the Year. 2011, Jimmer Fredette. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Player of the Year. 2012, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green. What? Okay. So they both tied? So AD won most of the Player of the Year awards. Draymond Green won one as well. And Anthony Davis, what year?
Starting point is 00:51:43 2012. What was he? He was a freshman? He was a freshman. He came out. Okay. Draymond Senior. Uh-huh well. And Anthony Davis, what year? 2012. What was he? He was a freshman? He was a freshman. Draymond, senior. Uh-huh. Trey Burke and Victor Oladipo. Trey Burke was a sophomore.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Oladipo was a junior in 2013. Okay. Doug McDermott, 2014. Okay. Kaminsky, 2015. Whoever that is, okay. Damn. Buddy Hill, Denzel Valentine, both seniors, 2016.
Starting point is 00:52:00 Okay. Both seniors. Frank Mason, the third, 2017. Frank who? Frank Mason, the third. Frank. Okay. Jalen Brunson, 2018. Okay. Both seniors. Frank Mason III, 2017. Frank who? Frank Mason III. Frank. Okay. Jalen Brunson, 2018.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Best player so far. Older than a freshman. Best player so far. Zion Williamson, 2019, was a freshman. Was a freshman. Luka Garza and Obi Toppin. Luka was a junior. Obi was a sophomore in 2020.
Starting point is 00:52:20 Okay. Luka Garza again, 2021. Okay. So he's two-time? Yeah. Who is that? Luka Garza. Is he in the NBA? He is in the National Basketball Association. Okay. Luka Garza again, 2021. Okay, so he's two-time? Yeah. Who is that? Luka Garza.
Starting point is 00:52:27 Is he in the NBA? He is in the National Basketball Association. Okay, keep going. Oscar Shibuye. I don't know who that is, but keep going. And then Zack Eady. Zack Eady. So Zack Eady.
Starting point is 00:52:36 So those are all the players of the year. Those are all the people he would be drafting because they are the best players and we get to see who they became. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So the best players from that list were freshmen who
Starting point is 00:52:56 wanted and came out. So Brunson is the only him and Draymond Green is the only veterans that played, right, that won that award that actually became somebody. What year was it for Brunson, though? Brunson, and both were second-round picks. Yeah, Brunson was a junior in 2018.
Starting point is 00:53:14 And he was a second-round pick, and Draymond was a senior, and he was a second-round pick. Right? Yes. Mm. Yeah, I think they're going to, just by just that, I'm pretty sure the NBA is just going to keep going with the algorithm that they're going with, and that's going after 19, 20. That's true.
Starting point is 00:53:34 That's going to happen. Is that what's going to happen? That's what's been happening. It's not what's going to happen. That's all that's going to be. I guess that's the product we've been looking at then, that we've been complaining about. Let me tell you the-
Starting point is 00:53:44 It's the same product we've been complaining about. I can tell you the- Ain't that the same product we've been complaining about? I can tell you about the- Oh man, this nigga don't know how to play it. He stupid. It is like- Hey, who's the best player out of these two? Who's the best player out of Keegan, Murray, or- I'm gonna start letting you growl.
Starting point is 00:53:59 No, or Rui. No Rui. Who's the best player out of Keegan and Rui? Who the fuck is Keegan? Keegan. Murray. From Sacramento. Oh, yeah, I like him.
Starting point is 00:54:11 So who's the best player between them two? I like Murray. Murray or Rui? I like Murray. Murray? For Kings. Okay. Yeah, I like Murray for the Kings.
Starting point is 00:54:20 So in the last five years, the last six years. That's the brother, right? The brother. He's a shooter, yeah? The brother. The shooter, yeah. He can shoot. I like him. The oldest players, that's 21 that's been drafted in the lottery, 21 and older, those are the two best players in the last six years. Man, why are you breaking people down like this?
Starting point is 00:54:39 No, I'm just saying. He making you break the... It ain't... No, I'm just... You're going to get it. No. He's not listening to you. He's just trying to give him't no I'm not I'm just He's not understanding if these two in the last six years 21 proven players these are the best Out of the 21 year olds that's been drafted in a lottery
Starting point is 00:55:01 Who are the other players? Because obviously there's been some all-stars and some all-NBA players, right, in this same class. Who are they and what were their ages? It's the Lucas. It's them. You don't have to explain the obvious. It's not obvious to him. Now it's obvious.
Starting point is 00:55:19 What's obvious? He ain't going to never agree with you. What's obvious? He'll break you down. Stop it. What's obvious? He'll never agree with you. It happened in his draft. What's obvious? He make you break it down. Stop it. What's obvious? He ain't never agree with you. It happened in his draft. What's obvious, though?
Starting point is 00:55:29 Double-tangled. What's obvious? He ain't getting me. It's just information. What's obvious? You start breaking everybody down. Don't let him get you there. I see what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:55:37 Who was the best player on your team? Oh, my God. Right? You, Raymond Felton, Sean May. Right? No, it wasn't. Yeah, it was. Marvin Williams.
Starting point is 00:55:46 No, nigga. Marvin Williams, the freshman. He was the fourth best player on the team. Oh. See? He don't like that. No, no, no, no, no, no. He's going to be held up.
Starting point is 00:55:55 The best players, him and Sean May. I was trashed. I was trashed. I was not the best player. I was trashed. Stop, stop. Listen. This is where it's supposed to go. I was trashed. I was not a good player. I was trashed. Stop, stop. Listen, let's move the goalpost to where it's supposed to go. I was trashed.
Starting point is 00:56:09 That's what I'm getting to. I was trashed, and I went 14th. I went the last pick. I went exactly where I was supposed to go. Okay. Last. In the lottery. Last.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Hold on, hold on. Lottery pick. Last. I was trashed. You said the name. He was the fourth best player on the team. He was the youngest player on the team. And went third.
Starting point is 00:56:27 He went third because he had the most potential. The rest of them, juniors and seniors. So they went with the freshman because his upside, he's young. I mean, bro. That's why he went. He didn't go because he was good. He went because he was young. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:56:42 Yeah, go ahead. Because he's saying it like he know. I do. Right? Because he's saying. He went because he was young. Go ahead. Yeah, go ahead. Because he's saying it like he knows. I do. Right? That's true. Because he's saying his opinion is fact. That's not my opinion. I was there, right?
Starting point is 00:56:52 So being there, Marvin came there because he was going to do a one and done. Okay. Wherever I go, I'm going to the league because he was projected to go out of the league from high school. Okay. We're going to go here. We're going to go out of the league from high school. Okay. We're going to go here. We're going to go there. Coach Williams knew from the start Marvin was not coming back. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:11 So to play him to his potential would be to start him, right? You would start Marvin if you knew it was going to be one and done, right? So regardless, no matter how he played, he was still going to be one and done. He was going to go. So even if he's still on the bench, he was... He came off the bench.
Starting point is 00:57:25 He came off the bench. He came off the bench. Because we knew. He knew. He knew. Marvin was going to go. It had nothing to do with the fact that he was going to play good or nothing. He had already knew Marvin's coming here to leave.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Okay. So you're saying. No, let him finish. Okay. Let him finish. Everybody else on the team who had the potential to be high picks had nothing to do with Marvin being picked before us because he's the youngest guy.
Starting point is 00:57:52 He already was supposed to be a lottery draft pick the year before. So, wait, wait, wait. High school, he was supposed to come out. Did the rule come in yet? Yes, it already came out. Okay, so my statement you said was an opinion. That's how you started off. You said it was an opinion.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Which part is the fact? On your team, was he the first best player or the fourth best player? He was. He came off the bench, so he was the fourth best player. That's the fact, right? No matter what you just analogued about. Yeah, he came off, yeah. So he's the fourth best player.
Starting point is 00:58:39 No, he wasn't better than Dwight. So he was the fifth best player, right? But he was drafted third because of his age. It's the potential of the upside. That's why. He's saying, even if the rule wasn't in, he was going. So you're basically saying he would have went out of high school. Cool.
Starting point is 00:59:01 And he would have been drafted out of high school because of his age. Because of his age. Because of potential. It's the same shit no matter what year you put him in. If he would have stayed until his junior year, he don't have potential anymore.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Yeah, right. He is what he is. He is what he is. So why did everybody else out of the draft with two years plus get drafted high in the top ten?
Starting point is 00:59:23 Because it was an older draft. So they took the youngest person second. That's what I'm saying. Why wouldn't they take the youngest person first? Everybody else in the draft is proven. Why wouldn't they take the youngest person first? Who went first all year? Who went first?
Starting point is 00:59:35 Andrew Bogut. Andrew Bogut. Because he was from overseas. Why wouldn't... Overseas? No, he wasn't from overseas. He played at Utah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:41 Come on, man. Stop digging. Stop digging. You're making shit up. Bogut was foreign. Bogut was foreign, right? He came and played. You're making shit up. Man, he's been with the Utah for four years. I went to Utah for four years? Come Come on man. Stop digging. Stop digging. You're making shit up. You're making shit up. You're making shit up. Man, he's been with the Utah for four years. Oh, he went to Utah for four years?
Starting point is 00:59:49 Come on man. With the Utah. Utah. Utah. Yeah, how many years he went to Utah? Come on man. Are you trying to make a point? The nigga went second! And he was the fifth best player on your team! You brought him up. You brought my team up. For what?
Starting point is 00:59:59 If he's the fifth best player on your team, he goes first because of his age. No. Not because he was better than y'all. His age is what got him drafted. No. So what got him drafted? He told us, they told the NBA, y'all just drafted me. The fact that we won? Huh?
Starting point is 01:00:14 The fact that we won? Oh, my God. So why didn't y'all, why didn't the top four? Wait, I thought you said no matter what, he was going to get drafted. Which one is it? We're not number two. We're not number two, Nick. Not number two. Either way, he get it we're not number two not number two nick not number two wait so either way he gets drafted but not number two so why did he get drafted number two we won
Starting point is 01:00:30 so why didn't y'all get drafted and y'all are the best players how is the fifth best player going to know how y'all have works when you are trying to pick for your position everybody in the draft one through ten picking for their needs no not, not one through, not the first five. First ten. Go to that draft. First ten, picking for needs. Nah, they picked. Why did New Orleans pick Chris Paul?
Starting point is 01:00:52 Why did Darren Williams go to Utah? Because he was the best available. Huh? They all need point guards. Why did Milwaukee get Bogie? They didn't have a B. They had Michael Redd. Why did the Wizards pick Wepa Carter yesterday?
Starting point is 01:01:04 They got Kim Redd. Why did Wizards pick Wepo Caller yesterday? They got Kim Koo. 2005. It's the best available. Y'all scrambling and shit. We supposed to be in the next conversation already. Y'all still scrambling trying to prove me wrong and shit. This shit is crazy.
Starting point is 01:01:20 We have Andrew Bogut. Number one pick. He said he played there four years. That was cap. He was a sophomore. Left after sophomore year. And then Marvin Williams, freshman. Darren Williams, a junior.
Starting point is 01:01:32 Chris Paul was a sophomore. But back then, that was the... Raymond Felton was a junior. Martel Webster. Martel Webster was a high school kid. Back then, he was a staff. Martel was a high school kid. The next four was a sophomore again.
Starting point is 01:01:47 I said sophomore and junior. No, juniors is point guard. Sophomore in his position. I said sophomore and juniors. And then... I said sophomores and juniors. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Gil's Arena, presented by Underdog Fantasy. Andrew Bynum, high school kid.
Starting point is 01:02:02 So the only three juniors were guards in the power forward. All the other forwards were young. And maybe that's why Mays didn't go so high in the draft. Because we know what Mays looks like. These guys are 18, 19, 20. Vukovic went to the Magic. They drafted a Russian kid at 12. And how old was he?
Starting point is 01:02:27 Charlie Villanueva went seven to the Raptors. 19 years old. It wasn't 19 years old. He was 20. Yeah, I'm going to say yeah, because he went to UConn. He played two years. Bynum wasn't supposed to get picked. He ended up getting picked.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Who? He could have been 30. Andrew Bynum. He wasn't supposed to get picked then, and he got picked early. Andrew Bynum, 17.'t supposed to be a pig man. He got picked early Did you buy them 17 all this? I'm trying to our job was all a college century except for a few which is how it usually was I was supposed to be a couple motherfuckers Overseas when he and I would you everybody else was seasoned everybody else was seasoned college players And that's why y'all went that's why season when later what you saying wait
Starting point is 01:03:04 The the potential the young niggas always go first like high, high Yeah, you're going up for them. But it always evens out though. It's not all young. No, no, that's what it is now. That's what I was saying now. It is now because they're not saying, mama. There's gonna be a junior in this city. Usually a junior. A senior is usually rare now, but it's usually gonna be a junior somewhere in there. But for the most part it's freshmen going to be a junior somewhere in there.
Starting point is 01:03:25 But for the most part, it's freshmen and sophomores. They're going with the youth. Let's keep this thing moving. Spurs found great success in drafting. Winby last year. Top 12 picks is going to be freshmen and sophomores. For sure it's going to be some young'uns. It's always young'uns.
Starting point is 01:03:39 At least one or two. At least one or two. That's for sure, though. Not 14, though. Huh? Not 14 of them. Shit, that one year they had. No for sure, though. Not 14, though. Not 14 of them. No, they don't got a 14. So six of the lottery picks this year had no college experience. I don't know what that does for you.
Starting point is 01:03:55 Who's the first older? Who's the first 21-year-old? There's going to be a 21-year-old. There's always about two 21-year-olds in the lottery. Always a few old heads. Let us pull it up. For NBA standards, obviously. For NBA standards.
Starting point is 01:04:09 See, NBA standards. Recess, recess. You can make me play my music. Edie was the, and Klingon, let me see how old Klingon was. Klingon was 20, right? He's a sophomore. He is 21. Oh, wait, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20.
Starting point is 01:04:23 He's a sophomore. So Edie, Edie. Is the oldest. First old head drafted. OK, wait, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20. He's a sophomore. So, Edie. He's the oldest. First old head drafted. Okay, see, there we go. So, Edie was the first old head. He was? Mm-hmm. And then Dalton to connect, I believe, was.
Starting point is 01:04:33 I can see that. But let's keep this thing moving. So, Spurs found great success in drafting Wimby last season. I know what you're talking about. He just don't like it. So, France has become the new pipeline of the NBA. With three players selected in the top ten, France joins the USA as the only countries
Starting point is 01:04:49 with three players drafted in the top ten in a single draft. So France had six total lottery picks drafted up until 2021. So up until 2021, six total lottery picks. But in the last two drafts, there have been six French players picked in the lottery, including Wimby, Bilal, Koulibaly, Rissachet, Saar, and Tejan Soulon, I believe. So, you know, our NBA team's too thirsty for French players right now. No, I just think what the French connection out there is doing is exactly what the NBA is looking at.
Starting point is 01:05:26 You got guys that are sitting at 6'6 without their shoes, right? 6'6 to 7'4. Their wings are sitting at 6'10 now. So if you look at their team, everybody on that French national team, all these young
Starting point is 01:05:42 kids that's coming up from France are tall, long, athletic, right, can dribble, shoot, they're like they're army Swiss knives. Right? You don't really, you can go anywhere from two to four. Right? Shoot an army Swiss knife. Army Swiss knife.
Starting point is 01:05:58 You mean got the knife right here, got the bottle opener? I'm not rolling. With the French? No. Just because they can dribble in seven feet. I mean you gonna be the best thing alive So I can do it's not about being the best but I didn't say no best There's a lot of us out here to me. I didn't say best seven I'm saying that the guys that are coming in if you look at everyone who's been drafted from them It's all that they are ten six ten and seven foot running up and down
Starting point is 01:06:24 That's a bro six ten and 7' at the 3. They're looking at a whole bunch of KD. All of them ain't KD. They're not KD. Obviously, they're not KD. You know it's monkey see, monkey do around here. It is, but that's... Man, come on, man.
Starting point is 01:06:40 What, you don't like all the tall ones? Monkey see, monkey do. KDD French. From seven feet, I just make a highlight, I can shoot three because I'm the number one pick now. Nick Leung. Where do we find American talent nowadays? The slosses? At the mall.
Starting point is 01:06:54 I don't know that. They act like we ain't. We don't have the slosses. I'm asking you. I mean, but let's be honest. You know what they just did in this draft? They went overseas and was like, hmm, let's see what we got here. Where are we doing that over here?
Starting point is 01:07:09 Do we have that talent? I'm asking, where are we? Because remember, you used to go to the basketball court. You'd go to the basketball court and be like, hey, this move is out here. This court, that court, that court. Now we got to go to the gyms. Where are the gyms at where we can say,
Starting point is 01:07:23 hey, man, he can play, he can play, he can play. Me so busy wanting to be you. Yeah, they can play, but they ain't playing against grown men like these friends. So my point about the college shit. They've been playing since 16. My point about the college shit. And he's trash. They getting picked.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Top box, they all getting picked. Six of them. But they're not getting buzzed. You don't have to get buzzed. I'm 16 and I can play and I have more experience't what what is it? What who is getting drafted? You're not when you ask Where's the talent is? What talent is actually getting drafted overseas? Yeah, there's only two positions half of a third it's fours and fives and three
Starting point is 01:08:00 Half of threes and the cola topics. I believe what go to the Thunder threes half of threes. Nikola Topic, I believe, what? Going to the Thunder? Threes. Half of threes. Three. Didn't they draft a point guard from overseas? What point guard? Somebody. Who's the number one? They point guard the 6'7". Who's the number one pick?
Starting point is 01:08:14 They're billiards. Who's the 6'10"? He's a wing. He's a wing. Two of them was Alex Sarves. Seven foot. Seven foot. They can all play the one.
Starting point is 01:08:22 They can all play. They can play the one now. That's what I'm saying. Y'all look at this. Y'all look at this. No, they show me the point guard. Show me the shooting guard. They don't have the athleticism.
Starting point is 01:08:31 Well, show me the American talent that's good. Yeah. Because it's trash. One, two, and three. Nikola Topic went 12 to the Thunders guard. Because it's trash. Who? The American talent.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Show me the American talent that's getting picked. Hold on. No, no, no. Show it. Show me the American talent. Because this American talent is trash in this game. All right. So we're going to picked. Hold on. Show me the American talent, because this American talent is crashing this. A foreigner. Hold on. The number one foreigner
Starting point is 01:08:52 point guard is Luka, right? No. I can't believe you selling out to SGA. He's not a foreigner. They don't consider him. Yes, he is. He's from Canada. He'll play for Canada. Okay. He'll play for Canada. SGA. He's not a foreigner. They don't consider him. Yes, he is. I mean, he's from Canada. I mean, he'll play for Canada. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:06 He'll play for Canada. All right, so SGA, SGA. New ho king. Right? So SGA and Luca. Luca. SGA want to be American. He's American.
Starting point is 01:09:14 He is American. He's been here. Then you say Murray. So technically, we're going to stick to what we got. It's Luca. Now tell me who the second best Euro player is in the point guard position. Then tell me who the Euro shooting guard, who's the best shooting guard, who's the best backup shooting guard, who's the best small forward
Starting point is 01:09:36 in the backup point guard. Go. He set that up so you know you can't answer it. No, no. Because you can't answer it. I don't care about no backup. We're talking about right now. Starting five,
Starting point is 01:09:46 the Europeans starting five will be India. Who is the European shooting guard? Chad, Canada is not Europe. We can put it aside. Who? Canada doesn't count.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Euro. Come on, man. Euro. Who is the second? He's not from America. He's not from America. Who is the second? Listen, he's moving the goal.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Canada, you're not moving. Canada is not Euro. Euro. We're talking about non-America. How is that America? Who is your Euro? We're talking about non-America. Who is your Euro second? Non-American.
Starting point is 01:10:14 Hold on. Let him answer. Who is your Euro shooting guard? That's like find somebody to kill. Huh? Bogan, Bogan, Bogungan. There's going to be one of them, and then you're going to add the one to the three. You don't have.
Starting point is 01:10:25 You don't have it. Giannis at the three and Bede at the four. No, Bogungan. There's going to be one of them, and then you're going to add the one to the three. You don't have. You don't have it. Giannis at the three and Bede at the four. No, no, no. Giannis, Mark, there are four men. Those are four men. Stop it. Who is your shooting guard? Stop moving positions.
Starting point is 01:10:38 We don't need a shooting guard. Fuck a shooting guard. We got everything else. We got everything else. We got everything else. Stop moving. Luka going for the two. Stop moving. Luka going for the two. Luka can't play with me. Luka going for the two. Everything else no, we got everything We're not gonna do we're not gonna do that
Starting point is 01:11:05 We're not gonna just let you say we're gonna put our power for that Who is your shooting guard name me a shooting guard? Please don't got one I know you don't name a small for you don't have one Well, but what yeah, no, he's not what you have is what you have is the same thing that that's right I'm finished. We have a bunch of guards. I like that from America They have a bunch of the The Euros... The Euros is coming in at a large amount at the power forward and center position
Starting point is 01:11:32 because that's where America lacks. We're not keeping up with their fours and their fives. Our guard play is not that good either. So, whatever. You can't even name a shooting guard. I don't need a shooting guard when I our guard play is horrible no no fuck all that stop deferring let that nigga say is who is your second who is your back
Starting point is 01:11:58 up you know the truth who's your backup shooting guard we don't need a backup guard. You know the truth. Who's your backup shooting guard? Who's your backup? You do need it. No, I don't. We're not talking. We're in sync. Let's stimulate the game. Let's stimulate it.
Starting point is 01:12:13 And let's show all the guys. If I tell you to have two point guards, two shooting guards, two small forwards, who do you go with that's in that position? He's just going to laugh at whoever you pick, so don't pick him. Just don't pick him. No. He's just going to be like whoever you pick, so don't pick him. Just don't pick him. No. He's just going to be like, oh, compared to who we got,
Starting point is 01:12:29 look who you got. It's like, it don't matter. Who's your backup? I don't know the two. Whoever two and three you pick. You got one, four, and five that's going to dominate, so it don't matter.
Starting point is 01:12:40 We can put Giannis at the three. No, you can't put, we're not putting, no. You can put Siakam at the three. No, you cannot. put We're not putting No, you can't put Siakam at the three No, you cannot Okay, Siakam Siakam
Starting point is 01:12:49 No, you can't No, we're not doing who we You gotta play your position So you can see It's a position No, we're not No, see, that's what you're trying to do You can't put
Starting point is 01:12:58 I'm gonna put Wimby at the three No Okay No, that's not We're not No, we're saying If LeBron can play the point why we're at Wimby We're saying who is the second best point guard from euro?
Starting point is 01:13:10 The second best point from euro. I don't know we got to go overseas and find them. He probably not even over here So who's the second bet who is the first best shooting guard from euro Probably any no here yet from euro probably he? You probably didn't even know here yet. From Euro. He's probably not here yet, huh? So that means if he's not here, that means the backup shooting guard is probably not here yet either. Right? And then your best small forward is what?
Starting point is 01:13:37 They can't. Ben? He knows. Ben? That's your best? He said Ben. He said Ben. Who's this? Benedict Mather is from Canada, Gil. Oh, he's your best? He said Ben. He said Ben. Who's this?
Starting point is 01:13:45 Benedict Mather is from Canada, girl, from Namaste. Oh, he's from Canada. Who is it? You got Siakam? I don't know where he's from. No, he's from... Yeah, Maroon. So your small Ford is...
Starting point is 01:13:58 Your best small Ford is... Oh, OG. OG. We'll take OG. That's their best small Ford. Exactly. So again, it's dominating by the power forward in the centers. He is British.
Starting point is 01:14:12 By the power forward in the centers. They're coming in at a larger rate and can do everything. And Luka being at the one. And we got that cover. And Luka at the one. Hey, we got this cover. We got this cover. We got this side of the NBA cover.
Starting point is 01:14:22 We got this side of the NBA cover. We got this side of the NBA cover. The power forward side of the NBA covered. We got this side of the NBA covered. The power forward? We got this side. The power forward in the center. No, no, no, no. The point guard. And the point guard.
Starting point is 01:14:31 And the point guard. You have one guy, dog. You have two guys. One, SGA's from over there. He's not from America. He's not from America. We're saying you. When you say Uro's taking over, it's one point guard who's sitting at 6'10".
Starting point is 01:14:43 You don't have... He's 6'7". He's 6'10". He's 6' who's sitting at 6'10". You don't have 6'7". He's 6'10". He's 6'7". He's 6'8 without his shoes on. He's 6'8 without his shoes on. Hey, can someone...
Starting point is 01:14:57 Luka, if you're watching the show, how tall are you? This is what we do. Can someone pull up the picture of... Now we pull it up. Carl Anthony Townsend and Luca next to each other. There was multiple angles of that photo, though. Huh?
Starting point is 01:15:13 There was multiple angles of that photo. Y'all think Luca at 6'7 is not getting blocked by muscle? He's bigger than everyone. Hey, what does that say? Josiah? Did you just read it out loud? That says 6'7". What does that say? From where Rash read it out loud? That says 6'7". From where Rashad showed me on his phone.
Starting point is 01:15:27 6'7". 6'7", 8'1". But they do say LeBron. Excuse my. That nigga like 6'10". Excuse my. What size they have LeBron at? 6'8"?
Starting point is 01:15:39 That nigga 6'10". Luka, he already knows they measure without the shoes. Why do we know without the fucking... Hey Nick, hey Nick, you remember y'all said facts? Remember y'all said facts? Yeah. In our opinions, you can say, hey Luka, depending on what shoes, he got the old 60s. It says without shoes.
Starting point is 01:15:59 It says without shoes. It says without shoes. This doesn't say without shoes. His measurements is as tight. This is all the measurements. All the measurements is without shoes. When you Google, you type it in in Google. But why are you like that?
Starting point is 01:16:09 I just put Luca. I didn't even put his own name. I just put Luca, and then I just scroll to his height. Are you going to stand on that? Is that you're going to stand on that? Luca, if you're watching the show, don't be in the chat. Are you going to stand on this argument?
Starting point is 01:16:22 No, no, no. I want to ask him. Are we standing on facts? No, yeah. Is that your facts? This is. Are we standing on facts? No, yeah. Is that your facts? This is Google. This is Google facts. But he knows without shoes, but let him stand on the facts.
Starting point is 01:16:32 Are you standing on Luka is 6'7 as a basketball player? Are you going to say that's your facts? Are you going to use this as facts? I'm not. I want you to say those are my facts, and I'm going with Luca. That means that any time you bring up a Google fact, it's not a fact if you're not going to consider mine fact. Any time you go into your phone and you start doing this, I can say, that's not accurate, Gil, because you said mine's not accurate. On what?
Starting point is 01:17:00 On anything, because this is Google. No, because this is Google. All right, he's 6'7 without shoes. Google's saying it. What's that? When you wear shoes, how tall are you? Are you taller? Oh Let's say are you not when I wear? Yes, when I wear Tim's When I wear my moon boots, I'm taller. Why are you taller than your flat boots? When I wear these flat boys, I'm smaller. Why are you taller with those shoes on than when you were without them?
Starting point is 01:17:27 I'm 6'4 with these shoes on. 6'4. So without them, how tall are you? 6'3 and a half. All right. So he's 6'4 without his shoes. He's 6'4 with his basketball shoes on. 6'3 and a quarter.
Starting point is 01:17:38 You can't guard me. Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You're 6'3? Oh, hell no. You're 6'4. So y'all not scared no more? You're light. You're light.
Starting point is 01:17:46 I'm 6'2 out there, so I'm scared over you. With the right bra, so I don't have to hate them. Yeah. So everybody goes in the body bag. We asked the chat. We asked the chat. Everybody goes in. We asked the chat, what side are you on?
Starting point is 01:18:01 Americans or Euros? 71% picked Americans. Of course. He's 6'3". What's that? What did he say? He said he's 6'3". Without shoes.
Starting point is 01:18:09 Without shoes? He said without shoes? No. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's cop. Uh-oh. Stop the cap. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 01:18:19 Damn. I'm 6'3". Without shoes? He's capping. Uh-oh. Cap. Uh-oh. 1,000% cap. Uh-oh. That's all right. Which I got, pal. He's 6'3", without shoes? He's capping. Uh-oh. Cap. Uh-oh. 1,000% cap.
Starting point is 01:18:26 Uh-oh. That's all right. Which I got, pal? He's 6'2". He's 6'2"? And a half. Gil, we have the Luca Carlton Towns photo for you. As again, our preference, there are multiple angles.
Starting point is 01:18:35 Gil holds better than me. There should be multiple angles of this photo. Look at 6'7". There are multiple angles. Some which support your claim, some which refute them. Whoo, that old man. So Townsend at power forward and center at 672. I know how you put that angle.
Starting point is 01:18:53 Now, now, now, now. He went with it because he Googled it. He was like, look. I want to ask you this question. So am I lying that you measured in at 6'2 and 1 1? I don't know. You know better than me, man. I'm just asking. You said 6'3".
Starting point is 01:19:06 So are we going with facts? Are we going with facts? I just went to the doctor yesterday. I just went to the doctor yesterday. I just went to the doctor yesterday. So we settled this. We asked the chat, when you have shoes on, you're taller, true or false, 93% said true.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Hey, I mean, look, you can go to my email and go to combine you go to combine you're gonna pull up 2005 there's gonna be a dude in it like kind of like in the middle and his name is gonna say it's gonna say Rashad McKee in the quarters when I went at the Korean draft. A fine draft. I'm trash. I'm trash. I had to go to the Korean draft.
Starting point is 01:19:54 No. You're trash. You're trash. You got to go to the Korean draft. They pay on time. Crazy as hell. You got to go to the Korean draft. He said he had to go use it. I love Asian food. They pay on time. I love Korean food. Crazy as hell.
Starting point is 01:20:09 I didn't even get drafted. I was too short. Tell Steve every Thursday to get Korean food. Hey, that is funny. He said, man, I got a little tall in the Korean. All right. The Korean measurements. The American measurement, I don't like that one.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Not real. They're not true. Let's all have a topic we can bond with. That's why we don't like America. They say two inches in America. That's why we don't like America. Because niggas can't count. Them niggas count backwards.
Starting point is 01:20:34 It comes out. Niggas count backwards. It comes out. This nigga's math ain't maffin' at all, do it. He be like, hey, man, two inches on your shoes. When you put it, it's like, let's all share a moment that we can bond with. He's 6'1", but he's 6'3", but he's 6'7", but he's 6'10".
Starting point is 01:20:49 All right, it's been too much dissension on the couch, too much animosity, too much battling. Let's all have a moment that we can bring it back together. So everyone on this couch had their own draft day experience. What did it feel like to hear your name called at the draft? Nick, we're going to start with you. What did it feel like when they announced your name at the NBA draft? Oh, I was kind of mad that I was going to the Wizards.
Starting point is 01:21:10 I ain't going to lie. Okay. I was like... I thought I'd think about you at the time because I wanted to go. I'd never really been away from home. That's why. Oh, I know why you were mad. So we got the clip of you getting drafted, Nick.
Starting point is 01:21:22 I was hot. Watch. With the 16th pick in the 2007 NBA draft, the Washington Wizards select Nick Young from the University of Southern California. Okay, with the flossy suit. What was it? The hugs being distributed.
Starting point is 01:21:47 You're taking too long, what you doing? Fuck this shit. Who that? Nick, what was it like for you sitting in that green room? Oh yeah, we got rid of her. We got, we didn't get the fuck going out of here. I remember when you came in with her, man. So unnecessary.
Starting point is 01:22:01 I remember when you came in with her, man. So unnecessary, yeah. This is a joyous moment. Nick, what was it like for you to hear your name called, be able to take that walk, go shake David Stern's hand, take a flick? It was really a dream come true, man. But I thought I was going to the Clippers, you know.
Starting point is 01:22:18 Were you happy or sad that you didn't go to the Clippers? I was mad. You were mad you didn't go to David Stern's Clippers. Okay. I understand. Clippers had, what, 12? Yeah. They said they were going to pay me, but that is failed.
Starting point is 01:22:30 That is young? Yeah. So let's move on to you, Gil. 12. Who was it? Lakers. Lakers had the next what pick? Pick after this.
Starting point is 01:22:40 They had the pick after this. They had 17? Yeah. So I thought I was going to go there. Oh, so a lot of saltiness. Yeah, I was a little hot. See, but not because you were playing with Gil, but just because. Oh, so the Nets were next, Warriors,
Starting point is 01:22:52 then the Lakers had the 19th pick. Took Javaris Crittenton. Wait, where did Jordan, Jordan, that was the year before? Yeah. Who? Jordan Farmer. Farmer?
Starting point is 01:23:02 Yeah. Okay. Shout out to the legend, Jordan Farmer. Yeah, I wanted to be back home, you know. But then, you know, I got a chance to meet Gilbert Arenas. And now you hear you're on this couch. Some good, some bad. Everybody likes changing.
Starting point is 01:23:15 You could have been a Clipper. Your life doesn't change. You could have been a Clipper early. Gil, what did it feel like for you to hear your name called at the draft? Have you ever heard it? I couldn't hear my name. I was too busy crying. You were crying, Gil?
Starting point is 01:23:32 Yeah, I was on the phone. Gil, you say you don't cry. I was on the phone with Rodney Tension from Arizona trying to figure out how I can get back to college. Really? Hey, man. Hey, man. I don't know why they do this to me? Why?
Starting point is 01:23:47 How can I get back? I made a mistake, dog. Fuck this shade. Oh, my God. Why you... I had all this cubic on. And they gonna pick you here. No, no.
Starting point is 01:23:59 Hey, I look like a straight... What's it? I had on a Sacramento top. Blazers bottom. They didn't have the cameras on you? No, I was in the Marina Del Rey in my apartment, dog. That's why you used to book people. On the phone. Everybody.
Starting point is 01:24:15 Everybody. Everybody was in the Marina. By that Ritz Carlton. Yep. Soon as Sacramento... Hey, nice apartments over there. Because Sacramento said it worked. I wasn't going to get past that.
Starting point is 01:24:24 Well, Blazers, I did well at the Blazers, but they went with Z-Bo. Right? I see that. Because I had the shorts on, and I was like, ah, fuck it. And I mean, then Saks said I wouldn't get past them. Ooh. Right? So I'm like, nah, I'm going to Saks.
Starting point is 01:24:39 And then when they didn't pick me, ah. Damn. Yeah. And then in the middle of my meltdown, Rodney said, oh, you got drafted. And then he said, you're going to... You weren't even watching when you... Oh, I was on the balcony throwing shit out the balcony, thinking about jumping, motherfucker. I didn't calculate it. My calculation didn't have nothing to do with anything after 25. I heard that like... I wasn't doing nothing to do with anything after 25
Starting point is 01:25:13 It was just between me and that dude I wasn't gonna let him a man of the night I wasn't gonna let him stunt me in front of the field. I mean, I got to play against these dudes I'm back. If I back down against him they looking at me like lunch meat. So I got a stand on two So Brandon, let's move on to you. What was it like to hear your next call at the draft? It was bittersweet. I think just after the whole year coming back from Europe, you know, I had to work out. You wanted to stay over there? No, I just, it was uncertain because, you know, I was talking a lot, trash.
Starting point is 01:25:41 I was calling out certain players. And also, I didn't play a lot. So, but calling out certain players, and also I didn't play a lot. So, but I ended up going 10th. I didn't go to the draft, I ended up coming later. So we actually have the video, Brandon, of you pulling up to the draft after shopping at SoHo, I believe. The 10th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, Brandon Jennings, is here,
Starting point is 01:26:03 so why don't you welcome him? Brandon. Yeah, Mr. B. Hey, Sam. Brandon, who were you pointing at? Who did you blow that kiss to? That was for Sonny Vaccaro. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:26:16 Yeah. Okay, hold on. Because I ain't going to lie, that was smooth. Coming out the back. What pick was they on? 13. Wow. You just came in with an N.
Starting point is 01:26:31 You're a sweet nigga. That's a game. So you guys know Marcus Williams, right? Went to UConn. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he got drafted. He was supposed to go lottery. And then I guess whatever happened to him at UConn with the laptop situation, him and AJ,
Starting point is 01:26:45 he didn't end up going lottery. So they were trying to do like, they were just saying basically, I wasn't gonna go lottery. So Bill Duffy at the time, he was just like, I don't think I want you to go because I don't want you to be the only one in the lottery room. So that's the only reason why I didn't go. But I was up the street. Okay. I just got done shopping from Soho. They heard my name getting called, and they rushed me to the thing. Okay, you were shopping with a suit on? No, no, I came back from shopping. They put my stuff on.
Starting point is 01:27:13 They was like, yo, you know, yeah, they want you to come. So it was cool, though. So, Rashad, moving on to yourself, what was it like for you to hear your name called at the draft? Man, I forgot about that Marv Williams shit. Yeah, me and Bill had the same age. I was disappointed, to be honest. I was supposed to go higher. So, you know, 14, watching all the picks go down. I was like, yo, what's going on?
Starting point is 01:27:42 But Stephen A was, it was his first time doing the draft that year. He couldn't believe that I was slipping. And I remember him saying, like, me and Sean was still 13, 14. We was who we were, and we had just come off a championship. And he was just like, man, how they still, how they still available? Da, da, da, da, da. And I remember meeting with the Clippers at 12. Don Levy and Elgin Baylor.
Starting point is 01:28:07 Elgin was weird as hell, man. I don't know. I think he didn't like niggas. I just felt like he was a racist. And deep, deep down, he just like, oh, you look like a nigga that's not going to listen and you going to fuck the farm up. Man, I felt the heat from this nigga.
Starting point is 01:28:24 Because he didn't say shit to me the whole time. He was just sitting there with the Stephen Frown. But just think about it like this. He spent years working for Donald Sterling, man. So just post from that. He was like, who this nigga on that nag? Get off that nag, nigga. You on that nag.
Starting point is 01:28:40 Who's a nag? Boy. And I mean, it's just me walking on stage, me walking on stage though was the worst part, just because David Stern wasn't paying attention. Oh, wow. Yeah, I had to tap him on the shoulder type shit. I hope y'all got that. I don't think they could find it.
Starting point is 01:28:57 Yeah, I was crying, I told you that. No, I did. I was like, man, that's, Europe shit worked. Woo! Oh yeah, I can see that. That was the whole thing. I can see there was a problem. That was the whole thing. I was thinking they was going to make an example out of me because I went to Europe and tried to just have me sitting there
Starting point is 01:29:10 like, yo, don't go to Europe. But then I looked in the stands. I was like, oh, there goes Sonny. Should have known. So with Williams, what ended up happening? I think he was thinking like, so it was, so me and Will, we had the same agent, Bill Duffy, but when his draft he was supposed to go lottery, but because of something
Starting point is 01:29:27 happened at UConn, I mean everybody knows the story. Still on computer? It was him and AJ. It was AJ Price. He ended up going 20 seconds. LA Ledger, Crenshaw High School, Oak Hill. You don't get it. We don't need to relive it.
Starting point is 01:29:43 We don't need to relive it. The reason I'm saying this is how does that affect your draft? Can you get buckets? If I'm a GM picking someone and he did whatever in college, stole
Starting point is 01:30:01 some shrimp, some what's theher-name. Crab legs. Crack leg. Your character, you broke. You don't have to worry about stealing them all because I'm giving you millions. So theft means nothing. But it wasn't just he got in.
Starting point is 01:30:17 It was everywhere. They kind of blamed him for it. What I'm saying is that little bad habit you got. He got drafted, though. Yeah. What I'm saying is the bad habit, that little character flaw does not work here because you're rich now. So you're still in crab legs. You can pay for that now.
Starting point is 01:30:39 So I don't even consider stuff like that. Like drinking? Okay. If you're an alcoholic in college, okay, I can have some concern because now you can buy a whole lot of that shit. Right. There's little things that...
Starting point is 01:30:51 You're talking about little petty theft and you sit here selling your jerseys and stuff for boosters. That has no effect on this right here. What about bad teammates? Oh, no. No, I don't. I wouldn't. Let me ask you this.
Starting point is 01:31:08 I wouldn't. On top of that. It depends on what type. They was big on character. They was big on character. I know Jordan was like that, too. But where do you get that from? What?
Starting point is 01:31:17 If you're going into the draft and you got a red flag on your list that says bad attitude, right? Where does that come from? I would guess from somebody on the coaching staff. So it can't, so y'all agree with me that it doesn't come from the players. No. The players don't go to the draft people and say he has a bad attitude, right?
Starting point is 01:31:36 So if you're a bad teammate, where would that come from? One of the other players' agents? Coaches too. The players are not given that scouting report based on character, attitude, or being a good teammate. So if that's a red flag on your resume coming out, that teams are going to look at you and be like, I don't want him because of this. That ain't got nothing to do with you and your teammates or you and your attitude.
Starting point is 01:32:03 It's you and your coach. And that be my thing. If someone says he has a bad attitude, my question is, what is the problem? Yes. What's the attitude about? Remember, Jimmy Buckets
Starting point is 01:32:16 was labeled as a bad teammate. Right? In two stops. Has anyone said that about him in Miami? That's rare, though. Did anyone said that about him in Miami? That's rare, though. Did anyone say that about him in Philadelphia? Once you get labeled as... But that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:32:31 So it's not... It's... What is the common... If I have one winner here... But he was already a winner. No, he wasn't in Chicago. He was already averaging 20, though. Not as a...
Starting point is 01:32:41 But he was... He wasn't labeled a bad teammate in Chicago. Yeah, he was. He wasn't labeled a bad teammate in Chicago. Yeah, he was. Once he was up in Minnesota, he was labeled. No, he was labeled a bad athlete. No, because it was
Starting point is 01:32:48 Fred Hoiberg. Hoiberg labeled him that. Hoiberg got him in Chicago at the tail end. It was his team. Coming in, being labeled as a bad teammate. No, not coming in.
Starting point is 01:32:58 No, not in Chicago. He didn't come in. No, not come in. He wasn't... I'm talking about when they were getting ready to trade him. But the thing is this.
Starting point is 01:33:06 We know what that looks like as a player. He probably cares more than them. Now, what happens is when this player is questioning why we're losing, why we're doing this, why we're not going hard. He's a bad guy. Absolutely. Because there's 13 losers. So the 13 losers' voices is heard more than this one.
Starting point is 01:33:27 So if you put Jimmy on, who's the worst team here in the NBA right now? You put him in Detroit, reporters are going to say, we don't like this dude. He's a bad teammate. Yeah. Right? Because he's not going to confide to the shit that's going on. So he's going to confide to the shit that's going on. So he's gonna challenge everything Bad teammate and that's why as as coach as not a coach, but general manager you have to ask the questions
Starting point is 01:33:53 The real ones what makes them a bad team right? So the coaches this this trying to yeah, it's our gym Remember that they call in there do that though But even overseas and I went overseas my overseas teams would call the NBA scouts and reps to ask them how I was in the league. Then they called people I didn't even deal with. Like, they couldn't call just Minnesota. They called all of the teams. I'm like, I only played for one and a half teams.
Starting point is 01:34:20 What are you talking about? Don't pay him that money. Don't pay him that. He doesn't love the game. Bro, my seat went from here to here just like in the snap of a conversation. Like, yo, what? That was that wizard shit. Actually, you know, like what you were saying earlier,
Starting point is 01:34:36 like when you go into the draft, where are these things like talked about? It's more than just the coaches, though. It's like just certain. It could be your family members. I mean, like. They find people. They find people. Yeah, like when the NBA want though. It's like, just certain. It could be your family members. I mean, like, when you put it. They find people. Yeah. They find people.
Starting point is 01:34:47 Yeah. Yeah, like, when the NBA want to know something about you, they going to ask around. Because I know for sure they were asking all type of people about me before I came in. But that's the problem. It was not just the coaches. As an adult, right, and you're making your decision
Starting point is 01:35:03 on who you're going to draft, right, talent, right, and you're making your decision on who you're going to draft, right? Talent, right? The talent, the work ethic, right? The IQ. Everything else is irrelevant. Right? And the reason I say that is what you were
Starting point is 01:35:19 in your atmosphere don't mean you're going to be that in my atmosphere. Okay. And that becomes the problem when they're judging. They're judging you off a finished product. You're a finished 19. You're 19. I expect you to act like all 19 roads.
Starting point is 01:35:36 If you got the lacrosse players at 21 kegging and getting drunk in mosh pits, I expect that from your black ass too. You to have that same type of behavior. You're not developed. You're still in funk. You're not a pro. So my atmosphere
Starting point is 01:35:52 is supposed to teach you and become a professional. So that means whatever you're coming in with really has no bearing. That's what I said. Unless you're like an alcoholic, now that is something that I can't control because there's less structure here. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:09 So, you know, we leave at 11 o'clock. We might not be. And you sitting here at the bar the whole time. I got them. That's a problem. Yeah. Right? So only little things like that.
Starting point is 01:36:17 Other than that, this is a new garden. Unless you get drafted by the Wizards. You know what I mean? No, no, no, no, no, no. You know what I mean? Listen. You know what I mean? No, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, listen. Hey, you know what I mean? We built a game. Hey, our garden was all fun, right?
Starting point is 01:36:31 We had Magic Mountain out there. Let me ask y'all this. Why would a coach go that far to say anything bad about a player knowing that he's changing environments? If a coach has the best interest in all his players, there's no reason that any coach should say anything negative about a player going from him to the pros in regards to attitude, teammate, any of that, because it can be corrected based on his.
Starting point is 01:37:00 Inferiority reflection of that person's coaching. Yes. So it's like, all right, these are the things he needs to work on, work on this with him. He's a little trouble, you know, comprehending this and that. He talks back a little bit, but you know, all in all, he's a good young person. One player, he's going to, he's going to do this. He's going to do that, but he's young work with him. I've heard some of the craziest shit about players that just don't make no sense coming from a grown-ass what's the craziest thing about you me yeah coming from roy or any or just coming because all the coaches say no names if you don't want to but he gonna
Starting point is 01:37:38 say him no he can say the name this is jill corinna uh i was supposed to get back in the league with the paces when i was rocking with Paul George, and him and Danny Grandreau called the vouch for me. And Matt Doherty was the head scout for the Pacers, and he was my freshman year coach at Carolina. And supposedly, I got the blame for getting him fired. My freshman year, he just came off of national coach of the year. So they went 8-20.
Starting point is 01:38:08 We came in. Me, Raymond, and Sean came in. Three Musketeers changed the program. He got fired the next year because everybody on the team threatened to leave if he stayed the coach except for me. I was the only one that stayed. So next thing you know, it comes out in the public that I got him fired. Fast forward. Gets the public that I got him fired. Fast forward.
Starting point is 01:38:26 Gets the scout job for the Pacers. I got on the phone with the assistant GM. He's like, look, we're going to call you in. You know, we're excited. Danny and Paul, they vouch for you. They say you're incredible. Boom, boom, boom. I get a call like two days later.
Starting point is 01:38:40 You were looking at that 360? Yeah. Yeah, it was rocking. I got a call two days later. Man, something went wrong. But I had another call with China. I had a deal in China. So I had to balance, like, do I go to China?
Starting point is 01:38:55 Do I wait for this deal to go through? Because if you wait for this, this go, then you don't got this. It's about $100,000 a month. I'm like, man, this look good. It's like, man, one of the agents that was facilitating the call for me called me and was like, did you know Matt Daugherty was the head scout at the Pacers? I was like, hell no. He was like, well, he didn't say nothing good about you.
Starting point is 01:39:15 They going to pass on you. So think about my Minnesota shit. Whatever was going on in Minnesota, I go into free agency for two years. I ain't really played. Then I get the call like, oh, you've been staying in shape. Oh, okay, we'll go shape. Nah, his attitude. He ain't the type of guy you want to bring in and do this and do that. Now you fucked over. Now I'm looking back like, damn, why would y'all niggas sabotage me? I ain't never did nothing to none of y'all. Why would I get... And then I started seeing other players get the same treatment. And I'm just like, oh, man, that's what he's doing.
Starting point is 01:39:51 Dog house, DNP. Coach's decision. 12 of them. Had all that. You know what's so funny? I got benched for being around Kwame Brown. That's crazy. I heard something about that.
Starting point is 01:40:07 Watch who you're hanging around with. That's why you didn't play. I said, damn, that's crazy. They was trying to get rid of him? Yeah. That Mike shit. So when you asked me why did I slip in the draft, right? And this is how I know that they don't do homework for themselves.
Starting point is 01:40:31 I didn't do the treadmill test, right? And the reason I didn't do the treadmill test is, you know, so you didn't go. Did you play in Chicago? No. So y'all didn't play in Chicago. So Chicago is like battleground in a sense, right? Where I didn't know nothing about lotteries, and there was another group behind it. So I'm thinking these is my competition.
Starting point is 01:40:51 So everything is comp, nigga. Who can get through the door first? Who can stay long? You know what I mean? So I'm trying to win everything. Line drills, if I see someone beat me, I'm gonna wanna do it again. Right, so everything was about establishing dominance.
Starting point is 01:41:04 So we're getting ready to do the treadmill test, and I said, all right, what's the top time? And it was like 18 minutes. 18 minutes? That's crazy. That's it? And they was like, no, it just stops at 18 minutes. I was like, what do you mean it stops at 18 minutes?
Starting point is 01:41:20 They was like, yeah, so when 18 minutes comes, you stop. So I said, wait, everybody can be number one? Everybody can. And think about it. Like, I'm track. So that means preparing for this, I've been running miles, dog. I've been on USC, I mean UCLA track, running up the stairs, doing all this. Drake Stadium.
Starting point is 01:41:39 To run 18 minutes the same with everybody else? So I was offended. Like, oh, hell no, man. Everybody can be first place. I'm good. Everything else has first place. And you're telling me you want to try to figure out who has it? Take this time limit off.
Starting point is 01:41:52 It was for the heart. I don't give a fuck about no heart. Fuck your heart. Who can last? Right? 20 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour. You want to see who has something? Dial this motherfucker if you want to see what kind of player it is.
Starting point is 01:42:04 So your brain wasn't right. Yeah. So I wouldn't want to do who has something down this motherfucker if you want to see what kind of player it is So your brain wasn't right. Yeah, so I so I wouldn't want to do this, right? So I'm good They don't even I've ran. I ran too much to do this. I Go to Orlando They couldn't keep up right, you know what? You know what the coach said when he was talking to me. He's like, yeah, I don't know if he was even watching They couldn't keep up with me, just out of shape. He's like, hey, you know what I mean, I seen you working out.
Starting point is 01:42:31 Do you wish you was in better shape? You just seen me running up and down, and you're gonna ask me if you, if you. And I had to think about what he was saying, like, and I'm like, oh, you're going off the treadmill test. You're stupid. Metrics. You're going off a treadmill test that happened in June,
Starting point is 01:42:56 and you're not watching what the fuck God did here means you're not even realizing what you're saying. You didn't use your eyes. If they can't keep up with me and we're running every drill you did, I'm sitting here doing this, and you're sitting here with your message on a treadmill test that says 30 seconds,
Starting point is 01:43:14 then you're not even living in real time. Because obviously if I'm running, you see I'm in the best shape that you've probably seen come through here, but you're looking at what's on this piece of paper. Did you run in chucks, though? I put my chucks on and then walked in. I'm good, man. This ain't it.
Starting point is 01:43:29 I can't win. They use shit like that. Yeah, that's sick, though. They're going to take that and use that and be like, yeah, Gilbert Arenas didn't want to do his chest test and he don't like to listen, man. Yeah, that's sick. Yeah, man. But you know what makes it funny? Here's the reality.
Starting point is 01:43:45 We stop in March, right? June. June is we do the little what's-her-name, right? Yeah, that's sick, though. June is when we do that, right? The test, yeah. We in shape for June. Then July draft.
Starting point is 01:44:02 And then summer league, right? When does the real season right? Mm-hmm. When does the real season start? October. October. So what the fuck do me being in shape during these two times have to do with October? Because if I'm in shape right now,
Starting point is 01:44:17 playing great, and then I'm not in shape in October, it's meaningless. Yeah, just show up. Right? You get ready. Yeah, but I honestly... See me at the finish line,
Starting point is 01:44:25 and that was the proof that you went off of something that had nothing, and then... You took a different approach, though. Yeah. Your approach wasn't like... Because when we went in there
Starting point is 01:44:35 and did it, we asked him, like, what is this for? Because I wasn't in shape for that shit. So I was like, yo, what's this? Oh, you just got 18 minutes
Starting point is 01:44:43 to see how long you can do it just by checking your heart. I was like, oh, okay. Yeah, I'm like, checking my heart? Okay, cool. Because I had been in L.A. working out, but we hadn't been doing conditioning. It was just training for the, you know what I'm saying? So I was like, I ain't been doing no long. It was like, oh,
Starting point is 01:45:00 no, just run at your own pace for 18 minutes. It's your own pace. We just want to see how your heart keeps up So you ask questions? I just yeah, I was just like, oh, yeah, that's it. Okay, cool Okay, cool, but they you took that as a challenge like But we were always doing that cuz with the chest up shit who got number one Yeah, about to beat that nigga who got no one here. I'm gonna be him too. I know I can lift that I was just trying to live a couple times. We've seen by your suit.
Starting point is 01:45:26 I just wanted to see it a couple times. How much did you do it? Seven times, I think. Do you think they care about people's characters today? Nah, because KB only had one. I don't think he got it up. I just think the way the world is today, you think they really harp on character,
Starting point is 01:45:41 or do you feel like they can fix it? I don't know. really harp on character? Yeah. Or do you feel like they can fix it? I don't know. I don't know what... I can't judge your character because... I haven't really... Because I don't know... Imani Bates.
Starting point is 01:45:57 No, what I'm saying is I don't know your character because whatever's questioned is that atmosphere, too. And then once you come here, you can be the nicest dude in the world. And then you get a whole bunch of money and then you done, right?
Starting point is 01:46:12 You can be a Stanford dude, you get all this money and you get wild. Or you can be a hood dude and then say, oh, the franchise is yours and you Kawhi Leonard. But the difference is you have a mark on your back going in. Yes. If you don't get a fresh start, if you got a reputation going into the NBA, it's going to stay with you.
Starting point is 01:46:30 It's going to be very difficult for you to wipe that shit off. But if you make that reputation on your own, if you walking around with guns and shit in college, that's different, bro. Like, what the fuck are you doing all that for? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who are you running around with? What ops are you going to pull up on? You're a risk now.
Starting point is 01:46:43 You're a risk, for sure. I mean. Unless you get drafted into the Texas team. No, but it's, but I can't, I can't really. I don't like it though.
Starting point is 01:46:52 Like, like, like, I'm with Gil. Like, I don't like the fact that you judging an 18-year-old, 19-year-old. Let's say if he doesn't have, like, like,
Starting point is 01:46:58 I'm not, or like, like there's habits, like drug habits. Like, I got to really, I got to really, like, if I'm going to study someone and I to really... If I'm going to study someone and I'm putting millions,
Starting point is 01:47:07 I'm going to study what's important. If you have an alcoholic problem, I'm going to be making... I want to see how many times you go to a bar. They see that too. Or drugs. I want to see what type of drugs. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:47:18 But that was the same thing with JJ. JJ had that shit in Duke. He had a drinking problem. So his sophomore year, they had to get him into detox and get his shit straight. But he didn't have no warrant on his resume. You know what that means, though. But you know who his coach, who his establishment, they're not going to put that red flag on that boy coming out.
Starting point is 01:47:39 It's J.J. Because it's J.J. But, like, we're not going to say it's privilege, but it's like, it's where you go, who you got backing you, and if you had any kind of turmoil with that motherfucker. But even that, college drinking,
Starting point is 01:47:51 that is probably, that's part of the atmosphere. That's what I'm saying. I got to know how excessive it is. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If it's that excessive, it got to be
Starting point is 01:47:59 Johnny Manziel type shit where you was passing out in college and we know your reputation. You was a drink. But I don't certainly know. You know that. No basketball players have that.
Starting point is 01:48:08 That's not that bad for me to use. I got to say, but that's what I'm saying. You might. I like Johnny. I like Johnny. He was cold.
Starting point is 01:48:15 I think it was turning up. He was getting the guns, doing all that. But that's what I'm saying. I'm seeing you in your element, right? And then me understanding that as an organization, if I know you in your element, right? And then me understanding that as an organization,
Starting point is 01:48:26 if I know you're that dude, my job is to protect my investment. Absolutely. So if I'm going to protect my investment, then I'm going to make sure you're limited in the things you do, in a sense, where I'm going to hire your bodyguard.
Starting point is 01:48:42 I'm going to hire your bodyguard. Your bodyguard is going to be hired for me. Your drivers are going to be hired by me. Right? When you go into the clubs, it's going to be, everything is going to be, I'm going to spend an extra $500,000 to protect fucking $40 million. It's hard.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Think about our teammate that he had that they took the minibar away from his room. Oh, man. He came to our room. We got our mini bar No, no facts. Think about think about it's hard. Oh I'm way I ain't passing you the ball anyway But yeah, you're right, but that's coping yeah, yeah, that's cool. That's coping that's coping with the first couple years Yeah, right
Starting point is 01:49:22 So it's it's one of, like, if I'm putting, if I'm, you know, if I got the Ant-Mans and all that stuff, I'm going to be, I'm sorry, I want to know who you're dating, what their life is like,
Starting point is 01:49:32 what your parents' life is like. And my job is to more protect it. I got three kids. Right? I need to put an umbrella over your life. Hey, because that's
Starting point is 01:49:42 like you saying, like, I really want this product. This is something I want. I'm going to protect it, but I'm not going to let no because that's like you're saying. Like, I really want this product. This is something I want. I'm going to protect it. But I'm not going to let no outside source dictate what we're doing. I'm not going to let a motherfucker say, oh, man, that's a broke down Honda. I'm not doing that. That's a broke down Honda to you.
Starting point is 01:49:57 I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that with college kids. Like, you're going to have to be inside of my machine for at least three, four years. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. We talked tons of drafts. Second round currently underway. Huh? Moving on, moving along.
Starting point is 01:50:14 Let's talk a little bit about these Knicks. Knicks had their best season in more than a decade. Shout out to our producer, Steve. Look at that hand you sent, man. You just. So, Knicks had their best season in more than a decade, securing a number two seed in the East, battling with an injury-depleted roster to get within a game of the
Starting point is 01:50:30 Eastern Conference Finals. Had some issues to resolve heading into the draft of free agency. Came through with a blockbuster trade to strengthen the Nova-Knicks connection. Gentlemen. Tuesday, the Knicks agreed to a deal with the Nets for Mikel Bridges, Senator Brooklyn Bojan Bogdanovic 400 protected first-round picks in 2025, 27, 29, and 2031, a 2025 protected Bucs first-rounder,
Starting point is 01:50:53 a 2028 unprotected pick swap, and a 2025 second-round pick for Bridges and a 2026 second-round pick. This is big news. It is. For the New York Knicks, for that coast. So after the deal went through, Bridges tweeted, this is crazy. LOL.
Starting point is 01:51:10 And Bridges' former Villanova and current Knicks teammate Josh Hart tweeted a photo of a group FaceTime with the entire crew to celebrate with their new old teammate. So this is the first time the Knicks and Nets
Starting point is 01:51:25 made a trade with each other in over 40 years. So things got even better Wednesday. What? No work in that photo. It's a group FaceTime. Married man. Group FaceTime. Spoken for a gentleman.
Starting point is 01:51:40 Why are you shaking his head? Things got even better Wednesday as OG Ananobi agreed to a new five-year deal worth $212.5 million to stay in New York. Knicks also did some maneuvering in the first round of the draft, taking Frenchman Pacom Dadier with the 25th pick and making two trades to come off the 24th overall pick to secure six second-round picks, including the 51st selection this year.
Starting point is 01:52:03 And while many expect Isaiah Hartenstein to dip in free agency, the Knicks still have the potential to bring him back if he's down to sign a team-friendly deal. But let's start with the Bridges trade. Do you like the Mikel Bridges trade for the Knicks, and what does he bring to their team? Shai, you rolling with it? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:18 Brunson, Devin Chinzo, Mikel, Julius Randle, Robinson. Good lineup for them. Hart coming off the bench. They need to get two more pieces. No matter of fact, no, the OG. No, no. Damn. Devin Chinzo coming off the bench.
Starting point is 01:52:33 There's going to be some whole damn team coming off the bench. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's going to be some hurt feelings. That's Mickel and OG. Shooting hard. Mickel and OG at the two feet. You got Brunson, Mickel, OG. Damn, yeah, that's a good lineup.
Starting point is 01:52:44 That's a nice one. Julius Randle, Miffy Robinson. Who's the shooter? Huh? Mikaela. Mikaela's the shooter. Mikaela's the shooter. Devin Dizzo, Hart coming off the bench. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:53 And the Frenchman, you say he's 6'10"? Yeah, but he's young. He probably won't play much. He's young, right? I don't know. You can put one of them at the four or two in here. Probably Mikaela. He tall, eh?
Starting point is 01:53:02 He's like 6'8". 6'8", yeah. 6'8". I wouldn't play him at the four, though. I'd put OG McHale, he tall, baby. He's like 6'8". 6'8", yeah. 6'8". I wouldn't play him at the four, though. I'd put OG. OG, one of them. For sure. If they decide to play small.
Starting point is 01:53:10 Guard Taylor. No, when they play small. Guard Taylor. Yeah, no. But their starting lineup is going to be crazy as hell. It's a big upgrade. I like it.
Starting point is 01:53:18 How much do you like it? A lot. They get another piece. Like Eastern Conference Finals? They get one more piece. Like Eastern Conference Finals, like? Yeah. Compared to where they just went?
Starting point is 01:53:28 With the team that they just had? But everybody will get better. No, we understand that. Right now? Just right now with nobody else making deals? No OG, no Julius Randle, no Mitchell most of the time, bro. All of them on bad wheels. You only playing with three guys.
Starting point is 01:53:42 Right now, you know, the Knicks get their starters back and all those guys who started that's become bench players great that's a hell of a team that's a hell of a team on the East they match up well with Boston and the Bucks they match up with everybody and that's a nice ass team so I talked about who should start but who are the five players that should finish the game based on what that current roster looks like? You put Bridges, I mean you got Randall at the five, OG at the four, and Mikkel at the
Starting point is 01:54:14 three. OG at the three? No, OG's at the four. OG at the four. My bad, my bad. Mikkel at the three, and then Josh Hart and Devin Chinzo, whoever's playing well between those two. Devin Chinzo, who has a plan well between those two. Devin Chinzo going to shoot that bitch.
Starting point is 01:54:27 It's going to be between, as the guy says, it's going to be between Josh Hart and Devin Chinzo, who's playing well at that moment in time. Yeah, because it depends on what you need. They need a backup point guard. Nah, they play... I'm talking about at the end of the game. I'm talking about at the end of the game.
Starting point is 01:54:40 But Deuce may be included in that trade. I think the Knicks are against it right now. They're trying to figure out a way with the salaries and all that. At the end of the game, most likely, it'll probably be, for the most part, 70%, not 80%. It'll be Josh Hart finishing the game. Yeah. Because he's going to do a little bit of everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:54:58 Right? Offensive rebound. And you can plug him in at a bunch of different spots. I don't need DiVincenzo for shooting unless we're down. If we're down, now I've got an all-shooting lineup. But if we're trying to manage the game and trying to pull it out, I've got enough shooting with the other four. If I'm Nixon, I can't get McBride, I'm going to get Colin Sexton.
Starting point is 01:55:18 For who? I don't think they've got the bread. Does he have to pay him? I thought he's up. But they are in that second apron right now based on what this
Starting point is 01:55:28 depends on what happens with Hartenstein. Pay that shit. Huh? Pay that. But I don't think they with this new CBA that's not the issue.
Starting point is 01:55:36 They can't go beyond that. It really depends on what Hartenstein does. I know the Thunder Hartenstein ain't not going to pick Hartenstein up. The Thunder were interested in him.
Starting point is 01:55:42 They can give him a bigger bag but he can stay with the Knicks for a team friendly bag and if they do some maneuvering they can keep him in like. Well, the Thunder were interested in him. They can give him a bigger bag, but he can stay with the Knicks for a team-friendly bag. And if they do some maneuvering, they can keep him in like the $15, $16 million a year range. Y'all would keep him? Y'all would keep him?
Starting point is 01:55:51 You would keep him, Harkestan? You would keep him and not trade him? He don't do nothing but just offense rebound. He do what Robinson do. I like him, but then where Randall go? Then some OG or Bridges got to go to the mix. You start him. If Harkestan? You got to go to the mix. You start him. If Harker's done?
Starting point is 01:56:07 You start him, right? Yeah, you start him. Yeah. No, he's the starting five. He only did that this year because he was the only nigga out there. Mitchell Robinson got hurt. Somebody got to be out there. Mitchell Robinson. Hey, while you're out there, you go to the...
Starting point is 01:56:18 We got real talent out here now. You could go a game seven in the East. I don't know. Mitchell Robinson. Without Julius Randall? They don't want that for a moment Without Julius Randle? They got, they got, see,
Starting point is 01:56:27 they're going to need, see, the only thing, they're going to need, they're going to need him when they're playing big teams. Yeah. Right?
Starting point is 01:56:33 If you get rid of him and they don't get nobody big and you sitting there with Embiid, you're done. What do you pay him though? Well, it's really what,
Starting point is 01:56:40 yeah. He's asking for a hundred. Boston had Hofer. I think, he asked for a hundred. I mean, four to 80, four to 80 range is what's been discussed. I mean, other teams can opt So it's really what... He's asking for 100. Boston had over... I think... He's asking for 100. I mean, 480 range is what's been discussed. I mean, other teams can obviously... That's a 240.
Starting point is 01:56:51 You get OG, too. No, but what I'm saying is that... Yeah, they have to be careful. They have to be very smart because Brunson, because if they sign him and Brunson says, fuck that, I'm going for my super max, that kind of hurts. So here's the other issue now with this squad moving forward.
Starting point is 01:57:07 Great to see all these guys locked in. Great to see them all supportive of Bridges coming through, regardless of what happens with starters and minutes and playing time and all that good shit. Especially knowing how Thibs likes to run them dudes to the ground. Both Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle are eligible to sign extensions this offseason. Brunson eligible for a four-year, $156.5 million extension this summer. But if he waits until after next season and makes another All-NBA team, be eligible for a five-year Supermax
Starting point is 01:57:31 worth $314.5 million. Even if he does not make an All-NBA team, he can still sign a five-year, $270 million extension next summer. So looking at Jalen Brunson, you got your Nova crew here. You got your boys all playing together. Should Brunson secure the bag now to help the team or wait until next summer who try to break the bank
Starting point is 01:57:52 Let me see I think I've been another Five years? Huh? Four year, 150. So as it stands now, Randall, Brunson both have player options after next season. OG's now five years. Mitchell Robinson's through 26. Josh Hart's through, he has a team. Player options? Josh Hart has a team option in 28, or 27.
Starting point is 01:58:23 What he getting right now? He'll make 18 next season, 19 the year after, 21 in 22.3. And DiVincenzo is to win? DiVincenzo is through 27. Yeah, I don't see him signing then. Yeah. Four-year 150. They trying to keep that whole team and pay McHale, and they just pay OG OG and they looking to keep
Starting point is 01:58:45 Harkinstein that's a lot of shit going on I mean look who the owner is so he don't really care and you still need shout out Leon Rose for doing some major maneuvering but it's good and you know it just won I can tell you this if somehow they convince Brunson I don't know how they gonna do it but if they can convince Brunson to take a deal know how they're going to do it, but if they can convince Brunson to take a deal this summer, think about how much money these people are saving.
Starting point is 01:59:10 It don't matter. If he makes it, it's $350, right? $350. $314.5. If he makes it, if he don't make it, $270. And it's his option. So, he don't have there's no incentive for him to sign right now. So if he don't sign right now,
Starting point is 01:59:29 just going next year and going through the season and he opts out, he's 270. But does he have to have the same type of season? No. So even if he doesn't make an all-NBA team, he can still get that five or 270. No, I'm saying, do they give it to him? It don't matter. If he doesn't have an all-NBA team, he can still get that 5 or 2.7. You know what I'm saying? Do they give it to him? It don't matter.
Starting point is 01:59:47 If he doesn't have the same type of season, do we, the New York Knicks, say we give him the Ultramax Steel? No, no, no. If he has the same season, he's 3.15. That's what I'm saying. If he don't have that season, and he averaged, what, 22 and 12? 20. 20 and 12? 20 and 8? 20 and 7. 20 and 12? 20 and 8?
Starting point is 02:00:05 20 and 7. 20 and 7. 20 and 7? And you don't do it. You just said bad season. All right. Okay, let's say I have a bad season.
Starting point is 02:00:13 He has a bad season. It can't be a bad season. Even if he has a bad season, he's still worth more than four-year 150. So there's nothing. Like, if he gets signed right here...
Starting point is 02:00:24 I would have said... I would never... You can't say nothing bad about this dude because he took a pay cut for that ass. So put yourselves in Jalen Brunson's shoes. Would you sign that four-year, $156 million deal to help this team become a championship-caliber squad? Yeah, what's the difference between the two?
Starting point is 02:00:41 The four-year and then the Super 5s? So the four-year 156 or Super max would be five-year 314. That's a lot. And regular max would be a five-year. Regular max? What's the bump? Regular max is two, right? More?
Starting point is 02:00:55 No, no, that's for super. No, remember, there's three. There's right now, then there's just the regular max, which is five-year 270. Yeah, 270. So he can't get a super max this year because he came to the mix from the man. Five-year 350? Five-year 315.
Starting point is 02:01:08 So 270, 315. Five-year. Both five-year. Both of those would be five-year. More than four-year 156. Yeah, so you're losing, what, 130 million? 158 potentially. Would he be able to extend after?
Starting point is 02:01:21 What is the four-year? Four-year 150. Does he have? You can get that back? No, no, no. It stays this year. So it's technically, it has this year, and then the extension starts next year.
Starting point is 02:01:32 So if he gets out of it and just plays it, then it's a five-year. But if he gets extended, you say they extend him now for the four-year 150, can he do another extension after two years? No. It depends if he does a deal that says, all right, let me go four-year 170 option after my second year.
Starting point is 02:02:00 He can do something like that. He can try to put something like that. That's the only leverage. If you're going to sign a deal like that, if you're going to sign a deal like that and save the team money, if I'm him, I'll say, I'll do the four-year 150.
Starting point is 02:02:14 And after two years? But the option after the second year and the third year. Yep. I don't know if he can do that. Yeah, he can. Two-player year option? Yeah, you can have whatever the fuck you want to have.
Starting point is 02:02:25 You can have player option, team option, player option, team option, player option. You can do it like that. But that's the only... So he has all the leverage right now. So let's talk about Julius Randle now. Knicks were 12-2 this season with Randle, Brunson, and Ananobi all in the lineup. We made a deep playoff run with Randall's sideline with the shoulder.
Starting point is 02:02:48 He has one year left on his deal, plus a player option eligible for an extension in August. So what do these moves, Mikael Bridges, recently on an OG Ananobi, mean for Julius Randall's future with the Knicks? And they have Robinson. What position Robinson is? Five.
Starting point is 02:03:05 Five. He's a five? Five only. O.G. is how tall? Is O.G. a legit four man or is he a three that plays for? I think he's three. Is he like a Siakam? I think he's a three, four, yeah.
Starting point is 02:03:15 Okay, then. Wait, O.G. is like six, seven. He's better than Siakam. He's a four? Oh, they say he's a four. I would say his natural is a three. How tall is he? Six, nine?
Starting point is 02:03:23 Six, seven. No, he's a three man. He's been playing small ball. He's a three man. He's six nine six seven? He's a three-man plan So he's not so he can't play up again so he can't be guarded So when he runs up against Giannis, he's fucked. Yeah, okay. He can guard Giannis on the perimeter, but down low he's down low So when they play big he has to play come out Okay, so that means I'm at the three right so they still so they don't play big we don they play big he has to play come out okay, so that means I'm at the three right so they soon So they don't play big we don't play big That's why he plays for cuz we don't ever really played two bigs in the game majority of the time every every championship
Starting point is 02:03:53 Let's see this is every champion T every champion is big Yeah, that small ball shit works for regular the championship teams are big lineups Boss down. I don't know if they know that. Boston wasn't big. What do you mean? They just won? They played Tatum at the four. Tatum is 6'10".
Starting point is 02:04:12 But he's not a traditional four. I know, but he's 6'10". Brown is 6'9". Traditionally. This is crazy shit. Traditionally. He said 6'9". Brown is not 6'8".
Starting point is 02:04:21 He's 6'7". 6'6", 6'7". Traditionally, you talk about big teams, it's 6'7". He's 6'8". He's 6'7". 6'6", 6'7". Traditionally, you talk about big teams, it's 6'7". The real power forward. All right, but we're shooting. But you got the proof. They got to play them. But they can go big.
Starting point is 02:04:34 They can go big. They got Horford and KP. But that's what they start. They don't usually play them because they're both centers, and they don't have a reserve power forward. But they hold. No, no, no, no. Wait, hold on.
Starting point is 02:04:43 No, they play. Hornet comes off the bench when Horford's playing. Their whole lineup is 6'5 and up. Porzingis is 7'0, so he's back there. But they don't ever play
Starting point is 02:04:52 Horford at the power forward. No, he's backup center. It depends. Backup center. It depends. No, there was early when they went with big. They went off at the 40.
Starting point is 02:05:03 Tell me we used to play the four sometimes. So they're going to need. I don't think they should get rid of Randall because I need to see how it looks. Because right now Randall is a legit four man. And if we play small, we can put him at the five. What are you going to get for him that you already got? You already got pieces that you would trade him for. You're going to trade him for another power forward straight up?
Starting point is 02:05:28 I bet. And who are you going to get for him straight up? You're not going to get no power forward that's an all-star, all-NBA deal. I'm keeping Randall because, one, he's a legit four, right? And if we do go small, I'd rather him be at the fire Yeah, I rather that sure. I mean I rather him go against fucking five man. Yeah. Yeah, he's strong too. He could play that Yeah, so I'm I'm not I don't I don't have no interest is he's not a good defender. He's not a good defender But it's a five man. But it's the five. He was Amari Stoudemire. Lope.
Starting point is 02:06:05 Lope. Lope. Lope. I remember that Amari Stoudemire. Lope. Indeed. I mean, that's. Randall's going to New York back. But that's.
Starting point is 02:06:11 Mello came over. Embiid is going to be the only problem. He start taking. But that's where. Hey, that's where. Man, that shit ain't doing. Dude got to play his whole game. But we've talked about it.
Starting point is 02:06:19 Do you think it's going to be an issue now with Randall coming back having deferred? No. More to Brunson. No, no, no, no, no, no. Everything resets. Yeah. The reason is Randall comes back and McHale so now Brunson
Starting point is 02:06:31 knows that he gets to defer a lot more and he knows that his one-on-one game is untouchable now. Because they can't double, they can't run off nobody, right? So when he wants to kick it in the last five minutes, it's... That's a fucking team.
Starting point is 02:06:48 It's Brunson ball. So from there, it's... Josh Hart used to be out there being a liability, shooting the ball. And he still can shoot the ball the 35%, maybe. But now you got Devin Chinzo and Mikael Bridges out there. That's a team. Yeah, so it makes Brunson harder to guard now. There have been some talks previously about Cat potentially being involved in the trade
Starting point is 02:07:10 to go to the league. For Brunson? No, I mean for Randall. I mean, it would have to be for Randall. That's for the bread to match up. I like that. I don't know if it's possible. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:07:19 I like that for the Timberwolves. I don't like that for the Timberwolves. I do. I don't like it. I like it for the Timberwolves because he's going to that for the Timberwolves. I do. I don't like... I like it for the Timberwolves because he's going to get free... He can get to the free throw line a little bit. You know, he knows how to get fouled.
Starting point is 02:07:31 He can shoot it, too. I don't need another guy sitting out there just checking threes, and now my little guard has to take all that... taking all those fouls. He's going to just wear them. Yeah. So I need...
Starting point is 02:07:41 I just want to say, once Randall comes back and Randall starts doing all that grunt, big man, buff shit, right? They get into the penalty a lot faster now Brunson, but I'm thinking about but across the board makes maxi That's what makes maxi untouchable because in B gets them in a penalty so fast now Easy free throw is easy free throw max. So as this squad currently constructed you feel like they're a legitimate threat to the Celtics, to the Bucs, and the rest of the powerhouse team?
Starting point is 02:08:06 A threat or a competitor? Can they beat them in a seven game? They still a champ. They gotta be a champ. Can this Knicks squad that's currently constructed... Can't disrespect the champs. Beat the who? Celtics in a seven game series.
Starting point is 02:08:19 Oh, the Knicks beat the Celtics right now? Can this Knicks squad that's currently constructed... I'm like, hell no, they can't beat the Bucs. But they can't- Nobody worry about the Bucs right now. What? Come on, what? I was about to get Paul Jewel.
Starting point is 02:08:30 Man, why is the- No, the Bucs is still sucking- All right, Steve. All right, Steve. What year did they win that championship? All right, Steve. 2021. You ain't getting nothing else.
Starting point is 02:08:37 They still stuck in 2021. Hey, man. The pandemic trip. Hey, that's a good matchup. I want to see- I'll see- Look at that back- I want to see- No, no, no, you're right. I want that's a good matchup. I want to see. I'll see. Y'all going to look at that matchup. I want to see.
Starting point is 02:08:47 No, no, no. You're right. I want to see that matchup. That's a nice one. Line it up, though. Line it up. You got Drew. Who?
Starting point is 02:08:52 You got Drew. Drew Brunson. Drew versus Brunson. That's a nice matchup. OG. I'm taking OG. I'm taking Tatum over OG. I'm taking Brown over McKay.
Starting point is 02:09:02 Now. Demon Chinzo. I'm taking, motherfucker,ay. No. Devin Chinzo. I'm taking white over Devin Chinzo, but I'm taking Bronson over barely over Holiday. Randall or Prazingis. Bronson barely over Holiday, Nick. It depends on who hit that day. Randall or Prazingis.
Starting point is 02:09:21 It depends. They both double-double. No, I'm just saying that they're both healthy All-star all-nba I'm taking Randall If it's potential, Kapinka is bigger than Randall. No, what I'm saying is, no, no, they're both. No, what I'm saying is, no, what I'm saying, no, how Randall plays helps New York versus how Porzingis. Porzingis, jump shooter, he's going to block some shots. They don't need 12 niggas running through the hole.
Starting point is 02:10:01 No, but what I'm saying is. Their whole team goes to the hole. What I'm saying is, one is 20 and 12. So you got OG and Randall doing the same hole. No, but what I'm saying is... The whole team goes to the hole. What I'm saying is one is 20 and 12. So you got OG and Randall doing the same thing. No, they don't. Who? OG shoots threes, the other's face out. Can't stop, man.
Starting point is 02:10:12 I'm going the way Randall's shooting threes over OG. They both shoot the same amount. No. Randall's going to put them in foul trouble. I like it. He go downhill. So he's going downhill. That's not...
Starting point is 02:10:22 That's not for Zingy. Did you see what Kapinga did in the fight? Kapinga? Who is Kapinga? Kapinga. Kapinga did the... Who's that little ass? You've combined Porzingis and Kaminga to create Kapinga.
Starting point is 02:10:35 All on point, he created one fight. This is a valley thing. This is a valley thing. This is a community college thing. That's what he looked like when he was overseas getting his ass beat. Who is Kapinga? Who is Kapinga? He said, Kapinga.
Starting point is 02:10:44 So we asked him... You know what I mean. Kapinga? Shit, that's what he looked like when he was overseas getting his ass beat. It was Kapinga. He said, Kapinga. So we asked him. Kapinga? That's what he looked like when he was overseas getting his ass beat. So we asked him. No, no, no. I know where that comes from. That comes from when he got drafted. When he got drafted.
Starting point is 02:10:54 I know why that's there. He got drafted, and who killed him? Michael Rapaport, I believe. Michael Rapaport. Kapinga's a Kapinga. Kapinga's Pingas. Kapinga's Pingas. Tingas Pingas. Kapinga. That was funnyus, Pingus. Tingus, Pingus. Tingus, Pingus.
Starting point is 02:11:07 Kapinga. That was funny. I liked that. Wamba, Wamba. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we asked the chat, are the Knicks a threat to the Celtics and Bucs? 67% in the chat said yes, they are. Are you a Knicks fan now?
Starting point is 02:11:18 Are you rolling with the New York Knickerbockers? Hell. I mean, no. I mean, they got a nice squad. No, I mean, they got a nice squad. That's that's nice. No, I mean, they got nice. That's a nice team. That's a nice team. You guys are Laker fans, bro. That's a nice team.
Starting point is 02:11:28 They're still not like a. I'm just trying to figure out, you know, they just traded a whole bunch of second round picks that is called fantasy trades. We couldn't trade nobody. Right. We couldn't fantasy trade nobody. No, y'all could worry about that coach. 29.
Starting point is 02:11:42 I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this.
Starting point is 02:11:43 I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this.
Starting point is 02:11:43 I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this.
Starting point is 02:11:44 I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this.
Starting point is 02:11:44 I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I could have gained this. I should worry about that coach. 2035, 7, 12. They should worry about that damn coach. 2044, I would have gave you my 2044 pick. Let's talk about J.J. lightly before we get on with our weekend. So on Monday, Lakers introduced J.J. Redick as their new head coach.
Starting point is 02:11:56 Redick, fourth different head coach in the LeBron era, spent 15 seasons in the league before making the move to the broadcast booth and podcasting, including his Mind the Game podcast with current Laker LeBron James, which is now extinct. In his introductory press conference, Redick was asked if he consulted with LeBron prior to taking the job and what misconceptions he wanted to disprove and had this to say. He didn't provide any advice. LeBron and I did not talk about the Lakers job until Thursday afternoon,
Starting point is 02:12:26 about 30 minutes after I was offered the job. And that was very intentional on both our parts. I knew I had an understanding that he did not want to be involved in this. And for me, I didn't want to go down the path of hypotheticals with someone that I consider a friend and someone that I have a great amount of respect for. So for us, it just came down to literally Thursday afternoon. And I talked to him for about 15, 20 minutes and got off the phone. That was it. What misconceptions or concerns about you that you've heard in the last few weeks are you the
Starting point is 02:13:04 most looking forward to dispelling when you're the coach? It's a valid question, and I've certainly heard everything. It's been a really interesting six weeks or so just in terms of being part of the engagement farming industry. It's been really interesting. However, I don't really have a great answer for your question because I really don't give a fuck.
Starting point is 02:13:41 Like, honestly. I want to coach the Lakers. I want to coach the team. I don't want to dispel anything. I don't give a fuck. Like, honestly, I want to coach the Lakers. I want to coach the team. I don't want to dispel anything. I don't. I want to become a great coach in the NBA and I want to win championships and I want my players to maximize their careers. That's all I fucking care about. Shout out JJ. So it remains to be seen how this Lakers roster will shake up and free agency Yeah, you can you overwhelming me Gil overwhelming me with the smoke machine. All right, I'm sorry now that I'm Anyway You got to move your whole leg to put your shit in your pocket and say, hey, man, you got a cigarette. You got a cigarette, man.
Starting point is 02:14:33 You got a new port, man. You got to shake the pocket. You got to shake the pocket. You got a lighter. You got a lighter. How you doing, Brother Craig? How you doing, Brother Craig? You motherfucker don't know nothing about boxing.
Starting point is 02:14:44 How you doing, Brother Craig? Motherfucker don't know nothing about boxing. Who has a USB charger? You got a USB charger? Communal move around. I need a C-Port. You got a C-Port. Remains to be seen how this Lakers roster will shape up in free agency,
Starting point is 02:14:59 but they are coming off of back-to-back seventh-place finishes in a tough Western Conference, and they will need to get creative this offseason if they want to strengthen the roster. But looking at J.J., his first year as a head coach in the NBA, no prior coaching experience. What are your expectations for J.J. Redick in his rookie coaching season with the Lakers? Hey, just by this interview, he's fitting right in. He can sit in the camera and lie to our,
Starting point is 02:15:26 and lie to everybody. I love it. I love that. That's Laker Nation right there. We can look you dead in the eye and tell you some other shit, man. Right? So he's already,

I'm giving him two years. He can get out of here. What he said, he ain't talk to LeBron the whole time, right? Talking about him and Brian never talked about.
Starting point is 02:16:13 15 to 20 minutes. What was my prediction? That when they first did the pro, that he was gonna become the man. Man, listen, that man did a whole State Farm commercial, him freaking out being a coach. I don't know if y'all seen the State Farm commercial. That's going to be JJ in two years.
Starting point is 02:16:28 This is a prediction, right? I told y'all niggas he was going to be the coach, right? I'm telling y'all he's going to get fired in two years. Hell nah. Get his ass out of here. We don't want him. No Dookie. Ain't no Dookie going to do nothing but do it. All the Dookies.
Starting point is 02:16:44 All Dookies do it. Say what? A ring? Rashad, you previously said that JJ has solid playing experience that would help him as a head coach. Yeah. You are now shifting your stance to say two years he will be on Chillington's Island. I say he has experience, but coaching fourth graders, he fits right in. He fits right in.
Starting point is 02:17:02 He got LeBron and all them niggas. Danny, look. You got Brownie just graduated from the third grade, nigga. You can get Brownie, nigga, your fourth grade right on in, nigga. You can graduate from what? The third grade. You think you can lie like that and not be a great

Can he win Coach of the Week? He got to win something like that. He won't win in Boston. He didn't win nothing, JJ. Since he want to sit up here and take Darvin Hill's job. JJ, you got LeBron James.

Hey, what up, y'all? Quick question. When it's all said and done and it's over with, who do you think will have more final MVPs in their career,
Starting point is 02:24:39 Jason Tatum or Jalen Brown? Let me know. More finals MVPs in their career? Jalen Brown? Let me know. More finals MVPs in their career. Jalen Brown right now. James Brown. When it's all said and done. Well, they're only going to have one championship. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:24:57 Which they already got this season. Jalen wins. So Jalen has currently the leader. So rap for that. I'm looking for a new team. I mean, the only way to give it to Tatum is if you think he's going to win two more. Even if he gets one, he ties. You don't see Boston going back?
Starting point is 02:25:15 I see them going. You see them winning two more championships? Two more championships? Going three? I mean, for the question. You have to be a real guy. I'm talking about for the question. Right, right, right, right.
Starting point is 02:25:23 For the question, if you see them winning two more championships, for him to win finals MVP, yeah, if you only see him getting one, it's a tie. So I'll just say. I see it being a tie. Rashad, did you say that you're looking for a new team now? Are you in hot pursuit of a new team? I didn't say that out loud. You got a new team this year?
