They don't even do all that. So I came in to the – And you might practice once. To the deep of the mud. So I had to earn my position. And I think just through all that, like, training camp, playing preseason, preseason, summer league. I would have to say like after All-Star break.

Because, you know, I was feeling myself a little bit. I think All-Star break was Dallas. I mean, my rookie year. And that's when they played in the $50,000, you know, the $100,000. Oh, the Cowboy Stadium. Yeah, the Cowboy Stadium. And I just think just the overwhelm of getting all the love and everything and taking some days off kind of got to my head a little bit.

Because you get a little cocky, you know. Rookie year, you know, you're feeling yourself. You know, I'm playing right off the jump. So I think that second half a little bit was kind of like my rookie wall for me. Because it was like, and that was the most important time of the season too. And I wasn't ready for it because I was trying to get so much early when the second half of the season was more like the playoffs and trying to get your position.

So I feel like the second half of the season for me. Yeah, that shit was so long ago, bro. I'm just being honest. But if I could, my situation was different than y'all. Like, I came in, like, I was 22, and I was, you know what I'm saying? I was physically, like, yeah, you know what I'm saying? Like, I was ready to play. Like, coming off the injury and all that stuff, my senior,

and all that, I had bounced back from it. So, physically, I was ready to play. I think it was more the mental. I got probably drained mentally before physically, you know what I'm saying? Just hadn't been traveling that much in and out of cities and doing all the extra stuff and being a pro. I think probably more that having to deal with all that than the physical aspect of it.

Because I think I was physically, like I was, I was ready to play. A rookie wall is more of, you're doing so much in a short period of time. Right, you know in college you're practicing five days a week, right, playing two days a week. And the NBA is like four days of games, half a day of week, right? Playing two days a week. And the NBA is like four days of games, half a day of practice, right?

So what ends up happening is if you start calculating your shooting if you're a shooter, you'll realize you're not actually getting shots up because if you're not practicing and then you're doing pre-game and then you go in the game, shoot 12 shots, like for that day you might have took 50-something shots. You do that every single day, it's going to affect your shooting.

And you're sitting there like, what the fuck's going on? Before, you was taking 200, 300 shots. Your shit was on point. And then you went through 18 games. I mean, you know, 18 days, probably 12 games or some shit like that. And you ain't really been getting your shots up like you were used to. And that's usually what ends up happening. 82 games, coming from a college schedule, which I always thought they should increase college games,

but 40 games, maybe max to now doubling that, basically playing two seasons in one. No, the practice is worse in college than it is in the NBA. But does the travel impact, I'm saying from the NBA standpoint? No, because you're just not. In practice, you're practicing. You're really getting the feel. There's a time where you're sitting there, and you go on a long road trip, and you gain some pounds. That's what I'm saying, yeah.

You gain pounds just sitting around eating plain food, sitting on the bench drinking Gatorade, and you done got out of shape. You got out of shape if you ain't fucking playing and just mentally paying attention. So usually you hit that rookie wall. You hit that rookie wall because you just, you wasn't mindful of the schedule. And I think for me, too, I had a lot to do with Under Armour, my rookie year. Like, I was the first athlete. I'm about to drop a shoe. I remember I was on the cover of Slam Magazine.

I had to do photo shoots for, like, I'm also starting a brand, too, as I'm about to drop a shoe. I remember I was on the cover of Slam Magazine. I had to do photo shoots for... I'm also starting a brand, too, as I'm playing. So they have to find ways to get photo shoots during the season and things like that. So it was other things that I had to do a lot on the road because of my rookie year. We're having ESPN games now. I'm doing commercials.

It was just a bunch of stuff that was coming for me so fast that I wasn't really ready for it because of the year that I had before in Europe. So I didn't know. 55, thank you. It definitely helped me. But that whole year, it was more business for me outside of just hooping.
