Starting point is 00:01:16 Being a robot. First photo shoot. It was supposed to be like a little foosball thing for the All-Valley team, so they had us all doing poses. Where did you even find that picture? My brother Chris posted it today. He likes to- He's a troller too. Yeah, he likes to troll on my birthday, but I appreciate everybody's commentary, jokes. Help me. I mean, that's your logo going forward.

The Bucks snapped their four-game losing streak with a big win over the Celtics. But how worried should they be about Giannis' calf injury with the playoffs less than two weeks away? The Warriors came out to play against the Lakers, but which team do you have more faith in to make a playoff run? And for the first time ever, the women's natty game got more viewers than the men's game.

Make your next move your best move. Advantage sure to sell out. Boo. So let's get into some basketball, the lighter side, if you will. So Andre Drummond got some explaining to do after becoming a candidate for one of the dumbest plays.
Starting point is 00:06:22 You got some explaining to do. It was a photo shoot deal for the L.A. time. something to explain to that dude. It was a photo shoot deal for the L.A. time. I was minding my business. Curl looking luxurious as you noticed. Hey, no bullshit. The hat you have on today
Starting point is 00:06:33 matched that uniform. It does. It does. It actually does. What was the instructions that were given? Get in the defensive stance. So it was like
Starting point is 00:06:41 a foosball board. Everybody was doing foosball poses. I didn't really understand it then. You look at the look on my face. Foosball? So they had like a foosball board. Everybody was doing foosball poses. I didn't really understand it then. You look at the look on my face. Foosball? So they had like a, yeah, but it was like a basketball version of a foosball. So they had everybody in different positions.
Starting point is 00:06:53 I wanna be, I wanna be like Mike. I wanna be like Joe. People were climbing the shoes and the pose. They were cross trainers. If you don't want to play no defense, just get into this stand. I didn't even look at the shoes. He giving a 45, 50 on that. He giving a 40, 45.
Starting point is 00:07:10 For sure he gave a 45. Defense was not my strong suit. 24 and 13, though, senior year. He was for sure Euro style on D. What did you say he was averaging? 24 and 13. What was your matchup? What was your matchup?
Starting point is 00:07:22 That's right. Whoever wanted it. Whoever wanted it. Joe gave bitch. No bit no defense though to a double-double. Okay academic scholar No, but they said take the pause if you look at the face, I'm kind of like I'm excited to be here, but I don't like that's not really my thing. I like the defense Oh, it is what it is. I blame the LA Times and my brother Chris. The game is a game. Shit, 24-12 in 2001 draft, shit, you would have been the first pick in the draft. No, it's high school numbers because they diminished in college.
Starting point is 00:07:51 They were very deceptive. Coaches were hating, as we all know. But let's get into it. So Andre Drummond got some explaining to do after becoming a candidate for one of the dumbest plays of the season. We will show it to you right now. So the Bulls trailing by nine early in the second quarter drumming rip the ball Tory Craig grabbed it push the rock up the court try to throw it off the backboard to himself, but for some Reason that is unknown Rare double dunk. Dog. Wow, bro. Wait.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I mean, the funny part is, the kid missed the dunk anyway. Because he came and hit him? Nah. He was going to miss it anyway? He was going to miss it anyway? No, if you look at it, it hit the front of the rim before Drummond hit him. Wait, can we see the video one more time? But I just don't. For confirmation.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Just watch. I mean, obviously, I don't dunk. He came up too short, but I'm like. Watch. It was at the end, at the end, the second angle. Watch. It was already, he was already doing from the start. Watch. Right. He hasn't hit him yet. Oh, he was, ooh. Yeah, you are, you are. He might've missed that no matter what. Yeah, he was missing that no matter what. At least he can blame Drummond now. Hell yeah. What a weird play.
Starting point is 00:09:06 That's, yeah. Right, right there. Like, right there. Like what? I ain't gonna lie, it was big. You think that the guy gonna throw it off the backboard for you though. When you see him line up to go jump and grab it. I think the choice to even throw it off the backboard to begin with is crazy.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Yeah, that was wild. Yeah, no, that was wild. That early in the game. Both was wild. Both was wild. Down nine. In the second quarter. The type of season they having, like, solid plays. Play regular basketball. Drake my man.
Starting point is 00:09:35 He got hurt that game, too. You got hurt on the next play. Had to be carted off. He got hurt. Usually you look at the person that you're about to throw it to. It's like some kind of signal. Like look back. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:48 You know, you kind of look back, let them know. But the fact that he threw it and started gathering should have let you know to stop. With them old bones. They ain't no bigs. You know, they only, once they go on one track. Yeah, once they get the good. He saw it. He saw it and said, I'm getting that.
Starting point is 00:10:01 So we also have this photo from the play. What's better than a well-marbled ribeye sizzling on the barbecue? A well-marbled ribeye sizzling on the barbecue that was carefully selected by an Instacart shopper and delivered to your door. A well-marbled ribeye you ordered without even leaving the kiddie pool. Whatever groceries your summer calls for, Instacart has you covered.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Download the Instacart app and enjoy $0 delivery fees on your first three orders. Service fees, exclusions, and terms apply. Instacart, groceries that over-deliver. Look at his eyes. That's not right. I feel like he didn't. Do you think he felt him? Like, at what point did he feel Draymond?
Starting point is 00:10:47 I mean, Draymond. Drummond. No ditty. Like, it was like at the very last second. Yeah, that can go real bad with some great editing. Man, what? Oh. It's the best anyway it looked like. You're right. But it would have been crazy if you made it
Starting point is 00:11:06 The double dunk give him four points, but nay they did not and they took it out to a yo Now by the say that's nap. So I do not like what I'm Yeah, I know somebody gonna put Diddy back there Somebody go put Diddy face back there Stop it's too early for that. It's, stop, stop. It's too early for that. It's too early in the show. It's too early for that. The way you manage to bring up Diddy every episode is crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:32 You got it. That's the topic right now. Every time. You got it. No matter what we're talking about. No Diddy. You insert Diddy. You got it. Right now it's hot topic.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Man. So Dr. Dre, get healthy, Dre. Stop doing that clown stuff, man. Yeah. You know better than that, Dre. Man. Dr. Dre, get healthy, Dre. And stop doing that clown stuff, man. Yeah. You know better than that, Dre. Speedy recovery. But brings me to my next question. So, I know the dumbest thing you've seen happen in the game.
Starting point is 00:11:53 But what's the dumbest thing you've done in the game? Ooh, the dumbest thing I've done in the game? I got one. I already told this story about when we lined up on the wrong side of the court to start the second half. And you made a basket? No, they scored on us.
Starting point is 00:12:12 So that was a group thing? Yeah. I mean, it was a me thing. I was the senior on the team. We lined up, ready to play defense, and they just threw it and they scored a layup.
Starting point is 00:12:23 We won the game, though, but... Did you guys watch that play and film? No, because we won. Okay. It was just ha-ha. Forgiven. Forgiven. I did some silly stuff, too. What's the dumbest thing you've done in the game?
Starting point is 00:12:35 Team scored, and I didn't... You know how the ball come through the net? I didn't look and see where I was at, so I collected the ball. I was out of bounds, though. Gave it to the big inbounds, and he stepped out of bounds to pass me the ball, but
Starting point is 00:12:46 Violation I've been when did this happen? I played for Miami was playing against the Timberwolves. Was there a press it was on No, it was like they made a shot. I Got the ball, but when I when I got the ball, I was already like out of bounds now I was in and normally they always say they don't take the ball out point. I'll take it out So I might the big was right there. I said, here, I'm going to take it out. Pass him the ball. But it's inbounds. He takes the ball, steps out of bounds.
Starting point is 00:13:10 And passes it to me. And so I was like, I've got to be the dumbest point guard ever. A seasoned ref don't call that, man. It's like, they all the way back there on defense, man. Just, you got mixed up. Just take the ball out. It was on Shaqton. Huh?
Starting point is 00:13:22 It was on Shaqton the fool? It was on Shaqton the fool. Shaqton the fool. Be good at it. Yeah. Yo, It was on Shackton the Fool? It was on Shackton the Fool. Shackton the Fool. Be good at it. Yeah. Did you give us your dumbest play? I mean, besides passing the ball. It always comes back to that.
Starting point is 00:13:36 That was dumb to you? That was dumb to me. Just the thought of passing it to people I know didn't work out. That's just dumb. Dang, dumb. Something like that? Any level of hoops? You ever done something that bad?
Starting point is 00:13:56 You done had to do something. No, no, no. I mean, you know, Coach wanted a timeout, and I didn't want to call it. Because I didn't want to come out. Because, you know, it's like the player has to call it, and I didn't want to call it. I wasn't want to come out. Because you know it's like the player has to call it and I didn't want to call it. I wasn't going to call a timeout and then going up two times wasn't going to foul. No fouls, no nothing
Starting point is 00:14:11 and then end up twisting my ankle. I respect that move though. Which one? To get my shots off? Oh yeah because I was coming out. Like the jogger. You know how they sitting on the side like yeah I got you. Oh you do, huh? boom
Starting point is 00:14:28 Miss that yeah that shoot that come down. Don't play no defense The jarver intentionally miss a free throw when you knew you're about to get some Get a couple more times up and down the court. Miss that. Miss that. I'll miss the one. They come score. I get two coming back because I'm going to shoot the next one. You still miss the free throw. Don't matter.
Starting point is 00:14:54 I give up one and get two. Or a possible three. I ain't had luxury to play that type of game. A one for two. That's how you get buried on the bench doing some stuff like that. No, no, no. Facts, facts, facts. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:03 So we got to talk about an unfortunate situation that happened in the world of basketball last night. Warriors and Lakers, final meet in the season, has some major playing implications on the line. The Dubs just a game and a half behind the Lakers for the ninth seed. Warriors came in winners of seven of their last eight games. Lakers at 1-9 of their last 11 games. Did not have AD, had a headache
Starting point is 00:15:26 and nausea. LeBron didn't show up until about an hour before tip-off. What's going on? He was not feeling well, under the weather, very, very unlike Bron, who's normally there hours before the game getting right. Yeah, get all that preface out the way so you can get to the... I have to, you know, just giving people the reasoning behind the situation. Okay. And the Warriors took advantage, making some history in the process.
Starting point is 00:15:46 So the Warriors went 26 for 41 from three. 63.4% from behind the arc is the best in league history on 40 plus attempts. Yes, they were cooking. Steph had 23.6 for six from three. Draymond was five for five from three in the first half.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Tied a career high for most threes and a half. He finished with 15 points, 10 dimes, 6 rebounds. Klay led the Warriors with 27 points. He was 5 for 10 from deep. Whoa, whoa, let's go. They own the tiebreaker with that win.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Yes. Very astute of basketball knowledge. LeBron did have 33, 11 and 7, but the Lakers got cooked when he wasn't on the floor. Oh, he did play. They got cooked when he was on the floor, too. Yeah, he came playing. Tried to put the team on his back.
Starting point is 00:16:31 He tried. So with the win, the Warriors move to a half game behind the Lakers for the ninth spot. And like Norris just pointed out, they now own the tiebreaker after going 3-1 in the season series. Girl, you're sleeping right now, but wake up. Wake up.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Wake it up. It's not a dream. This ain't a dream. Who they had the tiebreaker on the ninth spot. That pushes us to tenth. Who do we play? Who do we play? Them.
Starting point is 00:16:56 If we ninth, who do we play? Them. Warriors. If we tenth, who do we play? Warriors. If you're ninth, you play the Warriors at the crib. And if you're tenth, now you, you play the Warriors at the crib. And if you're tenth, now you have to play the Warriors at the crib.
Starting point is 00:17:09 You play them at the crib no matter what. Because look, it's LeBron James and the Lakers coming to town, baby. No matter how you look at it. LeBron and Steph facing off for the ninth seed is crazy. So let's take a look at the current Western Conference standings if we have those available.
Starting point is 00:17:24 The league is transitioning. Nasty work. We don't got them? What you need? We're efforting. Okay, I'll just pull it up. What you need? What you need?
Starting point is 00:17:33 What you want to know? Tell me everything. Once we get to the eighth spot, we're going to be in the nine for ten spot. We're going to beat Golden State, get them on the fuck out of here. Then we're going to get to the eighth spot. Eighth spot, we're going to play Timberwolves. After we beat them the fuck out of there, then we're going to get to A-spot. A-spot, we're going to play Timberwolves. After we beat them the fuck out of there, then we're going to play the Clippers or Dallas, obviously.
Starting point is 00:17:49 We're going to beat them the fuck out of there because we can play Dallas, but it don't matter, right? Because they ain't playing no defense. Or we can play the Clippers, seven-game home game for us, right? And then we got Denver, and then at that point, it's whatever, right? We got to the Western Conference Finals, and we good. I want to believe that Nuggets play the Timberwolves tonight. That's the positive mindset you have.
Starting point is 00:18:14 First place in the West on the line. You don't believe that, though, do you? You don't think the Lakers can beat Minnesota? They might not be playing Minnesota. They might not be playing Minnesota. They might not be playing Minnesota. The Nuggets and the Timberwolves play tonight. Whoever wins that game will move in. The sole possession of first in the West.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Minnesota might be first. That's crazy. They might be playing Denver a little early. We ain't playing Denver. I'm just letting you know. If we play in Denver, we're going to jump up the eighth spot. Oh, that's what you're saying. So we can play seven.
Starting point is 00:18:47 No matter who we play in Minnesota first round. Okay, that's so much whisper thinking what you just did right there. I don't know what y'all thinking. We play in Minnesota first round. That's who we got in our sights. Okay. So, Lakers need the Kings to go one and two because the Kings also on the tiebreaker over if they didn't want to jump to that eight spot.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Can Phoenix get to six? When they look last night? Yeah, Phoenix could, I believe, get to the six spot if they went out. Pelicans played the Lakers as well last game of the season. They also played the Warriors, so there's a chance. Yeah, it's going to
Starting point is 00:19:22 be some fuckery. There'll be some fuckery that last game. Adam Silver, get to work! I'm mad that we play at 12. What, the last game? Why? Huh? Why is that?
Starting point is 00:19:34 Because every game is damn near at noon, so everybody's playing at noon on their last day. So what ends up happening is it's going to be hard to figure out who's doing what, so I'm pretty sure at the beginning of the game, if I'm Lakers, I need to delay as much as possible. At halftime, you got to be checking. Like, no, I mean, not even halftime. Like, delay at least.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Try to, like, squeeze out 15 minutes of some bullshit. An injury. A fake injury on the court. You put somebody in, you put in, like, um... He's just going to... Was it a three-year-old on the court? Was it Sam Vincent? Uh, Gabe. You put somebody in you put it like On the court was a Sam Vincent Gabe Huh? Okay, Sam Hell no, we didn't get game you have gave it
Starting point is 00:20:16 Sam or his brother Sam we didn't get gave me We didn't get the dude playing in the championship last year the do we got got can't be named Gabe. Three-letter word, Sam, right? Tim, Rob, but it ain't Gabe, okay? Two for 22 from three this season. Two for what? Damn! Two for 22. That's who we got.
Starting point is 00:20:38 How many games does he play? He ain't play a lot of games, though. I have not played a lot of games. You can be off to a rough start. Why does Miami give players away and them players be some shit when they go somewhere else? Because the system be different. The system be different.
Starting point is 00:20:54 It's like a person that grew up maybe sheltered or maybe in a gated community and then when they get out here to the open world and everything ain't as structured as it, you know, they kind of... I mean, Miami, it's like boot camp. I know, so this should be easy work. Heat culture should translate, right? out here to the open world and everything in the structure is a you know they kind of i mean miami it's like boot camp i know so this should be easy work heat culture should translate right don't you take that heat culture with some of us we do but to others you know they need that
Starting point is 00:21:14 structure you know year round yeah that's why they were who they were because of the structure all right okay so look we got dan vincent, right? Right now. What was I going at? How many three-letter names can Gil come up with by the end of the show? You already have like six. Sam, Tim, Dan. It's not Gabe Vincent's fault. But let's talk about the Warriors first, then we can reflect on the Lakers and how the season is panning out.
Starting point is 00:21:43 The Warriors have now won eight of their last nine games. How deep of a playoff run can the Warriors make when they're playing at this level? Same thing the Lakers did last year, get to the Western Conference Finals. They got the great equalizer. They can make threes. If they get on the run like how they just did,
Starting point is 00:22:00 they can make threes and beat anybody. And you know if it's close, you know when Steph, you never can count Steph out if it's an equally matched game, got one game to win. Steph can do it. They got two cats that can do it, because Klay can go for 10 threes in the game, too. We need Draymond to stay in the games. Yeah, Draymond don't do no wild stuff. There was a situation the day after that, he got into the Lakers bench, had to be escorted
Starting point is 00:22:24 back to the bench. Dre, chill, bro. They need you out there. They need that passion. They need Dre turned up. They need you. Man. Dre, they don't need you.
Starting point is 00:22:31 You can go ahead, bro. Get ejected. It's fine. They don't need you to make a run. It's interesting. Both of them teams, the Lakers and the Gomes, if they healthy and they get the right matchup, they could. That's what people keep saying.
Starting point is 00:22:42 They can both do it because LeBron, you know, if LeBron find a matchup he like he gonna exploit it and ad can go for 30 and 20 you know if he healthy and then steph and clay can go on the run so i don't want to play neither one of them unless i'm denver denver can beat anybody but if i'm one of them young teams okay see ant ant man and them up in minnesota i want to avoid them as much as possible do you think the warriors could beat the nuggets in the seven games? No. Under any circumstance?
Starting point is 00:23:07 I don't know if nobody's messing with Joker right now. Until I see it, I don't know if nobody's messing with Joker. Yeah, no. That team is just different. How deep of a playoff run can the Warriors make when they're playing at this level? Oh, okay. When they're playing at the level? Oh, okay. When they're playing at the level.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Like, I thought you was asking, are they going to make a nice playoff push this year? We cannot see the future, so we have to. Oh, I was going to say no. I'm going to assume that they're going to play like this the majority of the time. First of all, they got to play the Lakers' first playing game. That's smacked up. They done. That's it.
Starting point is 00:23:42 That's over for the light-skinned boys. It's it. That's over for the light-skinned boys. That's it. For them, they got to hope that the Lakers get to the seventh spot, so they're fighting for the seventh spot. Or the Lakers better hope they don't shoot like that and do them like that. You see
Starting point is 00:23:58 how we already made an excuse. Look, AD, we ain't going to show up. LeBron, LeBron, when have you seen LeBron come an hour before the game? That's never happened. Never, never, ever happened. Never happened. But, you know, the rule guy became two superstars, right?
Starting point is 00:24:11 So, you know, ah, y'all. I show up. They decided. Rock, paper, scissors. All right, yo, I'm gonna be there. I'm running a little late. That's it, right? So, you know, we ain't worried about them
Starting point is 00:24:25 because we already know what's going to happen. We're going to... How do we use this word without... Careful now. We're going to get to the free throw line a lot. All right? You can't pound it down low. You can't say that.
Starting point is 00:24:40 We're going to get to the free throw line a lot. You can't. Grow up, peace. Oh, my God. You can, but just, you know, you got New Yorkers over there like, nah. Live in a different world now, Lex. Hey, you're talking wild out here. I've noticed.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Hanging out with y'all. Sit. They're going to get to the free throw line a lot, and then they're going to complain about the free throw situation. We're going to go on and on and get to the free throw line a lot. And then they're going to complain about the free throw situation. We're going to go on and get to the eighth seed. But for the most part, they just got to hope that we get to the seventh spot so we don't put them out first. They don't want the – come on, you don't want the Lakers out.
Starting point is 00:25:20 It actually might be beneficial at this point for the Lakers to get that tenth spot if they got to play the Warriors and Golden State they've been kind of mid at home this year versus the road, but winning two games even make the playoffs is Stuff concerning we didn't make it a play. What do you mean? If you're the 10 you gotta win two games You gotta win two You win that game then you win the you have to play the loser of seven eight seven eight So so I gotta win two games to get to the playoffs. So we got to beat Golden State and Sacramento.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Oh, no. Sacramento swept the season series. Oh, no. Sabonis lives rent-free. In regular season. I'm just saying. Yeah, I mean. He's living rent-free.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Sacramento is living rent-free. Last year against Golden State until the playoffs started. Then rent kicked their ass. Are the Lakers Golden State, though? Huh? Yeah, no, we got LeBron James. We do have. That's very true.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Hopefully, he recovers quickly. He always going to do his thing. Who? It's about the others. It's about the others. LeBron will always do what. Who? It's about the others. About the others. Brian will always do what he do. Always being about the others. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Others. I mean, they need a superstar that's going to stand up tall in the playoffs. They let one man beat them last year. Steph? Yeah. Steph is different, though. You keep talking about Steph, he's no alien. LeBron different.
Starting point is 00:26:41 LeBron different. This is unfortunate times. You're going gonna keep putting that person on my 38 year old buddy my 40 year old in the playing games like you're 21 you know the mighty have fallen how the mighty have fallen I'm sorry the playoffs is different it is this way do you know it's way different you know it's superstar power in the play excited though to see the younger guys in the playoffs
Starting point is 00:27:05 What younger guys? Okay, see a mini all them audience. They can smack who they play They playing they playing what they got to play Katie there you okay. See you gotta play Katie. Oh no You believe in it you still believe in in Phoenix against okay see so We're not going to act like what Shea and them is emerging, bro. It's their time. Against OKC? Think about the style they play.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Who is that benefit? Besides Shea. It benefits Shea how he plays. But it benefits the other three on the other side that needs this fast pace. We need 90, 100 shots into this game. Phoenix haven't shown me enough this year. You don't just turn it on in a playoff like that. They ain't shown me enough consistency.
Starting point is 00:27:48 You got three shades on one team, dog. He said three shades, but let's talk about one play. After struggling throughout the season, Klay's been playing well since returning to the starting lineup. In his last four games, he's averaging 26 points, three assists, three rebounds. So he's set to become a free agent this summer. Can Klay still play his way to one last big contract this offseason?
Starting point is 00:28:12 Hell yeah. They ain't going to give it to him. He's going to get one from somebody. I know it's a couple teams out east that will give it to him for sure. You don't think he can get it with the Warriors? No, they can't live in the luxury tax like that no more. They got that bread. No, the luxury tax is different now more. They got that bread. They need young... No, the luxury tax
Starting point is 00:28:26 is different now. The penalty is stiff, you know, a little different now, so... Damn. Kaminga's about to be up. No, he's getting his bread. He got to get his...
Starting point is 00:28:35 He got to get maxed out. Got to. Who? Kaminga? Got to. So do y'all feel like this is the last dance for Klay with his
Starting point is 00:28:41 Warriors squad? Unless he take a pay cut. Take a pay cut. I know it's a team in Florida. It might be two teams in Florida, you know, state-free taxes that got some bread for it. We talked about one of those teams last week in the Orlando Magic. Have a ton of bread. Orlando Magic?
Starting point is 00:28:56 No, Orlando Magic. Ton of bread. And Disney World right around the corner. I'm just saying, they're going to have like $50 million in cap space. And they got a young email. Don't they got a 6'10 shooting guard? Who? Wagner.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Don't they play him as a shooting guard, damn you? They can move to small forward. No, but who do they play him at? They can play him at small forward. No, but it's two of them. It's two of them, though. Don't they play Wagner at the shooting guard, though, right? What?
Starting point is 00:29:21 I don't know if you're getting them mixed up. It's one of them that plays like more guard. It's another one that plays like a big how many walk knows Oh, there's two of them. Oh Fronzemoe talking about the big though. You ain't talking about the other ones doing this nice which one that could play guard and for Orlando yeah, so we feel like yeah, we talked about this So if you bought it, oh, do you take the max going out there or do you stay in terms of pay cut?
Starting point is 00:29:49 If you want the money, I mean, it all depends on where you at. Me? Money. I need that chicken. I need that chicken. You got four ribs. You got four championships. Yeah, I got chicken.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Give me the money. Don't get that money. Give me that money. I don't give a fuck what you see. Go somewhere where you're going to be appreciated. Give me that money. And there's more bread in Florida to the money. That's it. Give me that money. I don't give a fuck. Go somewhere where you're going to be appreciated. And there's more bread in Florida, too. Just to say, hypothetically, if you did make that move out there.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Double, yeah. They're double. San Francisco, them taxes is crazy out there. But Franz, 6'10". Damn. Yeah, playing shooting guard, small forward. I'm just saying, you put Klay in the mix there, you can shift those guys down.
Starting point is 00:30:24 They're versatile. Get the bag. I mean, you know. Get the bag. And they emerging saying you put clay you put clay in the mixer You can shift those guys down there versatile. It's a big I mean, you know And they emerging they might you know next year they might get bad in the fourth right now in the East. Mm-hmm You know the East is low-key and shambles but play do your thing have a good playoff gonna get your bag One more they passing out crazy bags right now. Nine-figure bags right now. Nine-figure bags. They're passing out nine-figure bags right now. Let's just say hypothetically, the Warriors can make a deep playoff run
Starting point is 00:30:50 with the big three locked in. Don't ask me. You still say, okay, we're hard. Don't ask me. You have no faith in the Warriors, but you got faith in the Lakers to get all the way to the finals.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Because what he's saying contradicts my fandom. Yeah. For them to go deep in the playoffs, that means the Lakers is not here. So I don't want to hear what he's talking. That's too much negativity coming my way. You're not digging that, huh?
Starting point is 00:31:14 Huh? If they do that, they might have to keep one of them. I'm not even going to put that up in the air. Wait, didn't you say we have to pull out of the hats? Ooh, so I got to be careful. Now I hope you pick the Warriors. I can't even be a Laker fan in the playoffs. We got ping pong balls. We would do a random draft behind closed doors before the show.
Starting point is 00:31:34 You guys would not be a part of it. I can't even be a Laker. I'm going to know it's rigged. If you get the Lakers, though, I'm going to know it's rigged. So, underdog, make sure that don't happen. I can't even be a Laker fan in the playoffs. If he gets picked Lakers, redo it. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:45 So, y'all just going cheap. Yep. People are already talking about the NBA rig. It's rigged if you get the Lakers. Fair unbalanced behind closed doors, though. But fair unbalanced. Or fair it up. So let me guess.
Starting point is 00:31:57 I'm going to have what? The Bucks. The Knicks. The Bucks. Doc. One of them. Doc. Doc.
Starting point is 00:32:04 You have one of the 16 teams. You might keep it to the 12 teams that will actually be in the playoffs because there will be some limbo, and then we'll give you some fluctuators from the play-in. That's fair. See, people think I'm delusional because I say it. And then when it happens, they'll be like, damn, Gil, you're smart.
Starting point is 00:32:21 No, I just know this. This game ain't what you think it is. It ain't what you think it is. This game ain't... It ain't what you think it is. It ain't what you think it is. That's it. It ain't all what you think it is. Smoking mirrors. Is it closer to wrestling than most people would want to believe, Gil? It is entertainment.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Hell no. It is entertainment. NBA is entertainment, not basketball. Okay? First. It's entertaining. So if wrestling is like, scale to one to ten, wrestling is what, like 9.9, fake? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Where is NBA on this scale? Depends on what team you are. I'm about to say. There's some teams that's out there trying to play real basketball. Facts. Okay, wait. Is Denver one of those teams? Yeah. Yeah. They're an anomaly. They came in like, we got our own little shit that's going on.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Denver. They ain't got no narratives. They ain't got no cute egos. No, I need more. Last year there was a narrative going on. Yeah, last year there was a narrative. Just like this year. Oh, with the MVP.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Just like this year. The narrative. They was trying to get- With Joker and Luka MVP. I'm pretty sure Luka's going to get the MVP because it's the- But how? That's the MVP. That's the MVP. That's the MVP Oh, with the MVP. Just like this year. The narrative with Joker and Luka MVP. I'm pretty sure Luka's going to get the MVP because it's the...
Starting point is 00:33:29 But how? That's the thing. How is he going to get over Shea Gill Alexander? How? How's that possible? They got him at third now. His number... Shea Gill's supposed to be number one or two.
Starting point is 00:33:37 He's missed some games, though. I'm just saying, he missed some games in the... I understand. I'm just telling you. Is Joker, Luka, Shea? It's Joker, Luka, Shea? They got Joker, Luka, Shea. How is that possible? Are they pushing the European narrative?
Starting point is 00:33:50 How is that possible? Would you say, would you push Luka over Joker, or do you think Joker, then Luka? If it's not going to be Shea. If it's not going to be, I think Shea is going to be over both of them, but I'm still picking Joker over Luka. Really?
Starting point is 00:34:03 Yeah. What's their record? Do you see what their record is? They just won like seven out of... But see, this is what they're doing. Okay, so when you say record, right, they trick the fans on making it seem
Starting point is 00:34:20 like something is being done that it's not. Right? So Luka right now is averaging 52.9 total points, right? You know I see through that. Come on. He's not averaging an actual triple-double, which was how Westbrook got in. Westbrook averaged a triple-double, which wasn't done since Oscar Robinson.
Starting point is 00:34:37 He did it four times in five years. So they're like, oh, Luka's averaging 52.9. This is the second highest total since Will Chamberlain. Yeah. Like points, rebounds, and assists combined. Yeah. When it was at 52.7, it was tied with Westbrook, but they erased the Westbrook and went straight to Will.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Yeah, I don't like that. So, you know, stuff like that, they used. What about when James Harden was killing, doing the same thing Luka was doing? They didn't say it back then. Harden was averaging 36 and 10. Yeah. I know, but that's what I said.
Starting point is 00:35:09 So it's one of those things where, I mean, he's not actually averaging triple-double, which makes it a different category. So because it's not in a different category, they use different wordage to make it seem like, oh, this is the highest total since Will Chamberlain, so that's history. So combining the points, assists and rebounds. Yeah, it comes up to 52.9. It does.
Starting point is 00:35:32 He should be in the conversation. Obviously, Lucas should be, but like, where was OKC last year versus this year? Yeah, and that's what we've talked about. That squad, I don't think anybody expected them to be playing this well, this fast. Shea got the most 30-point games this year. You know what's funny? When you listen to
Starting point is 00:35:46 the NBA players talk, we tell you who the MVP should be. And then it's always different for the media. That's that narrative. That's why we're talking about it's kind of like wrestling
Starting point is 00:35:54 a little bit. Yeah. It's kind of like wrestling. They push you what you want. I mean, because... Because he's Canadian or something?
Starting point is 00:36:02 Who? Is it because he's Canadian? How could he not be number one? I don't know. They've been number one, two, or three all year long. We know how long. One, two, or three. He's held it down all year.
Starting point is 00:36:11 He's been very consistent. His matchups, when he see them other monster stars in the world, he kills them dudes. We can't say another guard got the best of him this year. I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it. They either went at it or he got the better of year? I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it. They either went at it or he got the better of them. I haven't seen it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Yeah. When he played Luka... Is he the best guard in the league right now besides Luka? He's playing the best. I have a hard time seeing anybody better than Steph, but he's playing the best for sure. Just with regular season? Yeah, he's playing the best. I forgot, Brunson...
Starting point is 00:36:43 And he clutched too. He clutched with it. It's either one. I'm not mad at either one. Yeah, I'm not mad at it because even Luka's team, they not that good. But his advantage is he has a Kyrie. I'm about to say Shay don't got no Kyrie. He don't got no Kyrie. I like that. He has a Kyrie to help him with wins. Shay ain't got no Kyrie. He don't got no Kyrie. I like that. That's what I said. He has a Kyrie to help him with wins.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Shay ain't got no Kyrie. Shay don't have no one. The Thunder got a squad, though, girl. No, stop. What? They got a college team. They got college teams. They got college teams older than them.
Starting point is 00:37:15 They got the wins and balling this year. Chet has performed nicely in his red shirt. Ricky's seen it. Yeah, but you're talking about a bunch of 21 and 22-year-olds. Their average age is 22. But they're building. Right? So, you know,
Starting point is 00:37:25 when you're saying they're balling, yeah, they're balling because one dude is making them look that good. He is. Where's the factor in that? Luka?
Starting point is 00:37:33 Luka looks great. Kyrie looks great. Who else? The Mavs have been balling. No. Luka's been balling. Kyrie's been balling. They're like number one in defense in the last 15 games. Luka's been cookinging Kyrie's been balling. They're like number one in defense in the last 15 games Lucas been cooking Kyrie's been cooking. Okay
Starting point is 00:37:49 Those take those two out who else has been balling on that team will take take the two out of any squad You know what I'm saying is take those two guys Who else has been balled look at right now Lucas average a nine point eight assists who he passed the ball to So the Mavs are 49 and 30 right now. Kyra, you get it. Mavs are 49 and 35th in the West. It's where Shea and I'm at. So, Shea and the Thunder are 54 and 25.
Starting point is 00:38:15 They're third in the West. All year long, though, from start to finish. From start to finish. Yeah. You know, so, I mean, from the... My problem is, because they changed their metrics metrics and I want to use the metric against them and say, well, you can't give it to Luka because he hasn't done nothing. Right? Like, you gave it to Joker.
Starting point is 00:38:33 When Joker got it, he didn't do nothing. That was history. When Michael Jordan did it in seventh spot, his team was seventh best record, he made history. When Westbrook did it, he made history in that spot. Other than that, it's one or two. One or two is who's going to get that MVP. That's how you guys lead it out. Not even really three.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Shit, there's only like two people that wanted that three. One person that wanted that four, which was LeBron. Other than that, it's one or two. When we're looking at your metrics, you're creating the history to say it's history when it's really not.
Starting point is 00:39:15 That's a fact. I don't like that. If I'm going off it, I'm going off it. The best player in the game, who I think is dominating from start to finish, which when Kobe did it, it was Kobe, right? When James Harden, it was James Harden. Westbrook.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Brian, Tim Duncan, all those guys. Jokic last year, Embiid this year. Right now, I'm saying Luka, right? Giannis. Giannis, like. They gave Joker one of his MVPs. Giannis should have had it. They didn't want to give him.
Starting point is 00:39:43 But they didn't want to give him three. They didn't want to give him three. want to give him see that's that's that's let's see. That's where the problem is They see people think something's wrong with me for pointing it out Like in fact the Giannis hasn't really been in a discussion this year is a little a little glass rain last year Like what's on it last year? His team was number one, right? His team was number one and his numbers was up and he was third in he had historical numbers last year Like it's like how he's been more efficient this season and it's not being totally in fast break points right now Yeah, that but that's I said it's like when they don't want to talk about you is easy
Starting point is 00:40:16 Like when they like oh, we love some Giannis. They push you out the wazoo. That's the script. Yeah, that's the script We've had enough for the free. Oh, you heard the script thisoo. That's the script. Yep. That's the script. That's the script. We've had enough for the free. Y'all, you heard the script this year. What script? Oh, my God. I'm watching
Starting point is 00:40:33 college girls basketball instead of the men's. Men's basketball instead of the women's. That was the script. Everybody on TV, I'm watching the women's game.
Starting point is 00:40:42 I'm not watching the men's game. I don't know anybody. That script was unexpected. I ain't complaining about it. I mean, but that's the... Very good script. I ain't going to... You know it's the script when everybody's saying it. The characters was pointed to a T. Man, I'm like, did y'all...
Starting point is 00:40:54 Paige was fired. Juju was fired. I don't know what meeting they had for that, because that came out of left field. But I was happy about it. We're going to talk about it in a little bit, but you guys mentioned Giannis, so... Let's talk little bit about the Bucs and their current situation. They entered their four-game losing streak with a huge win over the Celtics at home, a secure playoff spot, but they may have lost their franchise player for the near future.
Starting point is 00:41:16 So in the third quarter, Giannis fell to the ground after a non-contact injury left the game limping. With what was reported as a calf strain, some thought it might have been the Achilles initially, but the Bucs said it was a calf strain. Limped to the locker room. Shout out to Nassus. The Nassus is a good-ass brother. Wait, that was him behind you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Hey, Giannis is nowhere without his bodyguard. He's nowhere without his bodyguard. Let's go. The game is over. Okay. This game is over. Giannis is out there. I ain't is over. Giannis is out there. I ain't out there.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I ain't out there. We good, coach. No, yeah, our calf not feeling well. Our calf. Our calf. Our calf not feeling well. Giannis underwent an MRI on Wednesday which showed he avoided damage to his Achilles and expected to miss at least one to two weeks with the calf train, with the soleus or whatever
Starting point is 00:42:01 that, I don't know, it's a part of the calf. I'm not no doctor. Yeah, right. Ooh. But they're saying it's a part of the calf. I'm not no doctor. Ooh. But they're saying it's a grade one. That usually is a one to two week. One to two week recovery time. Playoffs obviously start in about 10 days.
Starting point is 00:42:19 So how worried should the Bucks be about Giannis' calf injury with the playoff less than two weeks away? On a scale from one to 10, they need to be on 10. Thousand. 10. What leg was that? That was that left one. With the playoffs less than two weeks away. On a scale from one to ten, they need to be on ten. Thousand. Ten. What was that? That was that left one. That's the left one? Oh, done.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Yeah. Let it go. Let it know. He don't need to rush back at all. We saw what happened when KD tried to rush back from that, quote unquote, calf injury he had. Yeah. So, yeah, so we should. You don't play around with your Achilles.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Nowhere near. Anything around there. Nah. Giannis, though, here near it. Anything around there. Nah. Giannis, though, obviously superhuman. Oh, yeah. Different build than KD. I'm just being real. But it should be noted KD dealt with a similar situation during the 2019 playoffs.
Starting point is 00:42:54 He missed four weeks with the calf strain, tried to come back in the finals. We all remember the video of him dancing in the tunnel before the game and then proceeding to. And, I mean, the only thing that saved Kevin Durant's career is because it was his right. It wasn't his jumping leg. So, you know, same thing with John Wall. It wasn't his jumping leg. It was the opposite.
Starting point is 00:43:13 So, you know, with this being his actual jumping leg, he actually needs to be careful with this. He's very careful. Doug, do you think, I mean, that's the kind of concern. Obviously, playoffs right around the corner. Bucks have been struggling this season. You know, man, these are the basketball gods, man. You know, sometimes you got to, you know, listen to the signs.
Starting point is 00:43:37 You know, this was how many inches away from being an Achilles? Which means it's right there. It's knocking on the door, right? So you don't want to sit there and come back, and then the next time this happens, it will be the Achilles, right? So you're going to be out for two weeks. One of the two weeks is three or four. Two weeks, right?
Starting point is 00:44:04 And then you got to try to ramp it up. In the playoff off time and you'll wrap it up. He should miss round one for sure Let me see Interesting Turner events that could end up being the heat could end up being the Sixers limped into the last year's playoff and could end up Being the Pacers just depending how things shake out with these last couple games. If I'm them, if I'm them, if I'm... Where they at right now? They're second? They're second. I mean, if I'm second, I'm trying
Starting point is 00:44:38 to get the hell out of the way. How many games I got left? So Bucks have three games left. Shit, I'll lose all three of those. Let New York get that two spot. They can face Philly. Let's pull up the East End so we can get up.
Starting point is 00:44:56 Shit, they can face Philly. So this is how it looks right now. I'm not trying to. If you're Bucs in that first round, you are not trying to if you're Bucks in that first round you are not trying to face the Philadelphia 76ers because you already know Doc going back home
Starting point is 00:45:11 against Embiid and Embiid's busting they ass you got faith in Embiid now I like that look at you I had no faith in him I'm saying it's just dumb to come back you almost see him he almost ruined his career last night. Right?
Starting point is 00:45:27 Going to save a ball, trying to put that weight in, hurt, almost hurt. Yeah, and we're going to talk about that in a second. Okay, so, I mean, I'm not saying something that's just bizarre. All it takes, when you're already injured, one more little thing and you're done. Yeah. So, but if I'm Milwaukee, I don't know if... I don't want to play... I don't want to play fucking... Philly or Miami.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Miami got their number. Yeah, I don't want to play... I don't want to play either of those teams at this time. Indiana was 4-1 against them this season, too. I don't really care about them in the playoffs. It's playoffs. Indiana? Yeah, it's playoffs.
Starting point is 00:46:01 You need star power in playoffs and B, you get all them free throws. But I'm saying, Pacers going against the Doc Rivers squad. I mean, he don't adjust well, but... Dame can outdo a Hollenberg 100%. For sure. He can outdo most of them dudes. He can't outdo it on B and Maxie, though. Yeah, I'm...
Starting point is 00:46:18 By himself? Not by himself, he can't. As I said, I'm going to let New York go ahead and try to go ahead and into that that second spot. And yeah, he can't outdo Jimmy and BAM and SPO either Yeah, he can't buy so do you feel like the Bucks? Obviously go now heavily through Dame Rely on him with Dame without Giannis. They won't be alright He did this in Portland. He did this in Portland. This is in Portland with a better roster. He feels like his roster is good enough. With a better roster.
Starting point is 00:46:47 They brought Pat Bev, made him a starter against the Celtics. He had 20 and 10 in that game. Movement League Beezus, the bench, just letting you know. But I think with that. Ah, man, I don't know. You rolling with the Dame, Pat Bev, backcourt? Wait, Pat Bev started last night? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:04 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know started last night? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, playoff, man, playoff. Man, it'll be some... Hey, people are starting the playoffs. You'll be like... Now, people are starting the playoffs. You will be like, wait, hold on.
Starting point is 00:47:13 Because it's all about matches. Hey, man, I rock with Pat Bev, but... It's all matches. He makes it a lot. They need him, though, to take the pressure to guard the other point guards. Yeah. The only one Dame guarding the other point guards.
Starting point is 00:47:22 So Dame can go do his thing. Yeah. Dame has a tough time sometimes, you know, guarding pick and rolls and stuff like that. And this is Dame can go do his thing. Dame has a tough time sometimes guarding pick and rolls and stuff like that. And this is a
Starting point is 00:47:28 bad situation for Giannis. It's unfortunate man. Especially at this time. I'm more on if I had to
Starting point is 00:47:35 pick the two like if I had right now to say alright who should play and who should sit I'd rather say
Starting point is 00:47:41 Embiid play because you can control your body way more than Giannis can control his. Right? Because did y'all see how he hurt it? Just running. Just running.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Right? So, now imagine if this was a Euro step or something explosive. That was torn. Yeah. Embiid can slow his game down. Yeah, he can slow his game down. His skill set is, Giannis' game is power. Full speed, locomotive, transition. And he can't mess around with that.
Starting point is 00:48:11 You know what I'm saying? The pulse. Have any of y'all ever had a calf strain before? Not that low. Yeah. I never had that low. Like I said, one to two weeks, and that's just. No, we're the.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Yeah, knock on. Gray one has a one to two week recovery time. That's just a recovery time now trying to ramp back up Well conditioned but you throw right in the playoffs is a different Seems like the same same thing as last season where you know, you're gonna have sleeves You don't have all kind of stuff on it. You're gonna be trying to massage it. You're gonna over stretch it I mean that that's you know going to overstretch that muscle. You're going to compensate. When you compensate, that's when that...
Starting point is 00:48:49 Sorry, Milwaukee. I had to shut one of the two down. I'm shutting him down. Because Embiid, you can see, he can play through half court. He can slow his movements down, play in a block. You know, Giannis needs all of his explosion. So to save his career Yeah, I mean maybe a decision a game so you right now I can tell you right now If that Achilles goes his games done because he has not he has not prepared his game
Starting point is 00:49:29 For he has not he has not prepared his game for being skilled the MVP level will be done he turned into like a rebounder like yeah read down a rebounder cuz you know he's not gonna be able to come full speed and do all that that Achilles is up and down that's up and down ability yeah right so we'll spring that's where your screen is you lose all of that now you don't have no post-match move. Yeah. They just become a rebounder like almost at the rim. Yeah. Sit down, Giannis, please. We don't need that, Giannis.
Starting point is 00:49:50 Our Bucks fan producers pointing out the real bad news now is if Giannis does get hurt or miss some significant time in the playoffs, it essentially gives Doc an excuse for how this season's going to play out. You can't give him an excuse? Hey, we didn't have a point. The plan has just been done. Hey, Giannis. The motherfucker's 12 been done. Hey, how you doing this? The motherfucker's 12 and 38.
Starting point is 00:50:07 He's the opposite of South Carolina. He's the opposite of South Carolina. I'm not blaming, I'm not blaming Doc. I'm blaming whoever brought him in there and got rid of the coach.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Yeah, you can't, that's what I'm talking about. I still want to know what happened there. Yeah, that's crazy. It don't make no sense. Adrian Griffin needed to write
Starting point is 00:50:22 that tell-all book. Nah, he can't right now because he want to get another job. I know. That's what he got. Does he? Because he still get paid. He be straight. Big bang too. Gonna be cool. Write that little book. Let's talk about another interesting part of that game.
Starting point is 00:50:38 So the Celtics became the first team in history to not shoot a free throw. Man. Lex, I know you were watching. How did you feel about that? The teams combined for an NBA record low, two free throw attempts. Giannis got two earlier in the game. I don't know. I feel like they're just tired of the Celtics winning, I guess.
Starting point is 00:50:53 I don't know. They're just like, wrap this up. Let's go. Zero free throws is crazy. What type of basketball are we playing now? Are we really like... I know we talk about threes all the time and that, but this is getting ridiculous now.
Starting point is 00:51:05 No free throws. It's either the refs was tripping or the way we're playing basketball now was getting out of hand. Make sure of both. So that game was left to our bow. Make sure of both. Yeah, because no free throws? Zero.
Starting point is 00:51:18 How many threes did they attempt? I posted a clip on there. Someone got killed going to the lane. Like, it was just. Like, I'd be looking at... Like, when I'd be looking at, like, threes... How many did they take? So, 52.
Starting point is 00:51:30 They shot 52. Damn! Southern shot 52, Buck shot 36. I told you, that's their problem anyway. They are a jump-shooting team. That's why I don't believe it. Like, as tall as they are, they shoot a lot of threes.
Starting point is 00:51:41 And when you're talking about the playoffs, if you can shoot... If you're just going to shoot jumpers, trust me, you're saving the rest of the stars. Like, I never got to worry about foul trouble. Right. I can say in the whole game, oh, hell yeah. Right? And the fact that's what they do.
Starting point is 00:51:57 They're two stars. Jason and Jalen, they take tough shots. They take tough shots. It's never easy. It's not like they're backdooring. They're getting, you know tough shots. They take tough shots. It's never easy. It's not like they're backdooring. They're getting cuts. They're diving.
Starting point is 00:52:11 They're not getting those easy buckets to the rim. Everything is a difficult combo, combo, combo move. And this worked, right? But all it takes is one series for you not to be a champion with a championship team. One off shooting series. That can happen. Three games in a series? Three games in a series, yeah. That can happen. You can go home. Go home. You will go home. But other side though, if they making them, can't nobody beat them. That's the only thing. If they shoot 50 threes and they make 40% of them, nobody can beat them.
Starting point is 00:52:38 That's a lot of freaking threes. But you got people that shooting three. Like- How many did Pritchard shoot? Pritchard shot eight he took nine shots eight three eight threes a roll off the bench player That's a that's someone that knows his wrong. Tatum took nine threes Derek white took nine threes like no no CC That's see that these stars these stars today They are they're too nice They're too nice so They're too nice. There's so many possessions in the game, though, Gil. Cool.
Starting point is 00:53:08 But there's no way in hell that some of these guys are going to be shooting that many threes. Like, you're doubling what Ray Allen do? Yes, that's what I'm thinking. Who are you? You know what I mean? Like, I'll be sitting there.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Yeah, I'm swinging this because you're open. But, bitch, don't shoot the ball. Don't shoot it. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I'll be sitting there. Yeah, I'm swinging. I'm swinging. It's because you open. But, bitch, don't shoot the ball. Don't shoot it. Like, you know what I mean? You're open for a reason. Like, don't shoot. Like, go in or something. Like, drive and kick to someone else.
Starting point is 00:53:34 Just because you open don't mean shoot it. Like, you have to earn it. And the fact that, like, you're not in the 40, 50, like, y'all not going to be taking nine 17 threes off the bit my team for a team shot 14 threes i shot seven i shot half right right if coach if coach said we need to shoot 10 more you was gonna i'm gonna take eight because it was getting it was getting it was getting frisky at that motherfucking moment it's me and antoine you know for the most part you know the sean stevenson was gonna you know get his corner but for the most part man they they didn't shoot every open shot they got
Starting point is 00:54:15 some of these guys are shooting shots that no no relax bro it swung to you yeah yeah yeah we get it wait wait Just wait. Somebody going to come and retrieve it. God damn it. Just because I give you the money don't mean spend it, okay? Hold it. I'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:54:32 But don't they say sometimes a missed shot is better than a turnover or something? Yeah, I get it. I get it. And there's a lot of possessions now in the game. I mean, I feel like
Starting point is 00:54:41 they got to be preaching that in the locker rooms. Like, take the shot and don't fuck up. How wild is it for y'all just to see? Man, when role players get to shoot 8-3, I wish I could have got 8-3s in the game. 8 shots in the game, let alone 8-3s in the game. 8-3 from a role player, dog.
Starting point is 00:54:56 And they got two all-NBA players on their team. With a third Olympian with Drew, or a world championship player. Like, Ann Porzingis, another max player, and the two other dudes get 17 threes between the two, without them other four people I just named, it's beyond, Spoh, you was holding me back.
Starting point is 00:55:15 I know, right? Yo, Spoh, could I get a guy eight threes up? I know my teammates like, whoa. Man,
Starting point is 00:55:20 Brian and Ray, they would look at me crazy. Hell yeah. You know what kind of clip, like, like even, even, even Suns, right? Suns, even though they had all those three-point shooters. Only a few of them shooting like that.
Starting point is 00:55:38 Only a few shot every time they touched the ball, right? You know, Quentin Richardson, if he was open, he going to shoot it. For the most part, right? He was going to sidestep, Oh Mike Rick a shoe nice I saw paying pressure to get up three in a row in one position oh you got cut out boom miss boom get away yeah yeah yeah yeah one possession you have about three three one possession off the bench let there been Quran out there. Time out. Time out. Time out. Sit your ass down. Sit your ass down, man. Koran would have called a time out on him.
Starting point is 00:56:09 In the middle of a wide open for his time out, wide open in his fourth one. Time out. Goddammit, A. Hold on, y'all. Wide open is crazy. How much you get paid? Let me look at that on the...
Starting point is 00:56:22 Yeah, you here at the bottom, dog. You right here somewhere at the bottom of this list That's where your shooting is to you make two million dollars you shoot like a two million dollar player Don't be shooting like a max player. Don't come out here. Just chucking shit you you have a thought process max No, no conscience. Mm-hmm ultra green light red, might turn yellow, might be five, three, two, one. Yellow back to red. Or it's a stop sign and the police call you by.
Starting point is 00:56:52 Right. Broken light. A permanent yield. Yeah, yeah. Like, whoa, hold up now. A permanent yield. A permanent yield. Like, tread softly.
Starting point is 00:57:00 You know, when the yield pull up, tread softly now. Tread softly. Like, man, they just out here just chucking shit out. They hoisting, bro. This the league, though. This the new league. Man, mama, you had me a little bit too early. They need to reel it in a little bit. Hey, mom, dude, you had me a little too early.
Starting point is 00:57:15 They got me hoisting. They got me spitting on my shit, man. Norris, like you said, this is the new league. And we will be talking about it live at the El Rey Theater in Hollywood. It's Monday, April 14th. Somebody said, two million not bad.
Starting point is 00:57:31 No, two million compared to the 54 million the top player makes. Trust me, that's pennies. Big bang take little bang. But we will be recapping the entire NBA season Sunday, April 14th at the El Rey Theater in Hollywood. Tickets are on sale now.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Help us help you. Pull up, support the show. It's going to be a great time. We will have ample security. We'll have snacks. We'll have great basketball conversation discussion as we look at the season that was and look ahead to the NBA postseason.
Starting point is 00:57:58 And as a reminder, if you have an Underdog Fantasy account, you get a $25 bonus with proof of purchase at the door. So that's basically like getting proof of purchase at the door. So that's basically like getting a free ticket to the show. You might as well come. And we're giving the first 100 people that pull up a custom Gills Arena Live poster. Gil said he will sign those for you if you ask him nicely. I got something better.
Starting point is 00:58:20 Oh, I do too. Friendship bracelet? Yeah, I'm going to make a bracelet. Lexi out here giving out friendship bracelets, y'all. You can get a friendship bracelet from Lex Yeah, I'm going to make a bracelet. Lexi out here giving out friendship bracelets, y'all. Yep. You can get a friendship bracelet from Lexi. I'll make a few. And I'm giving out...
Starting point is 00:58:30 Oh, Manon. Yeah. You are a wild human. Yeah. You are a wild human. Yeah. Pew, pew. I'm giving out...
Starting point is 00:58:38 Pew, pew. Yeah, boy got me suspended. Bye, bye. I'm giving it out, baby. Oh, my God. And I'm going to sign it to the first one 100 first 100 people Get this hat signed. I'll sign it for you. Okay, all right No problem. So you can't you get the pimp you know, if you don't want to listen to us talk
Starting point is 00:58:58 Come get the hat and then get the fuck on out of here. This is Gils Arena presented by our fantasy lady. Little character. Every day is an experience. You like it? It's a good hat, girl. I will give you that. But now let's get into some hibachi time.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Hibachi time. Hibachi time. Now you're wearing a hat for the rest of the show. Perfect sound. So Anthony Edwards. Up again. Has been cooking this season, but he took it to another level on Tuesday against the Wizards. So Ant-Man dropped career- high 51 points in the win. And he had 50 cent in the building to watch. It is the Wizards, so they are food.
Starting point is 00:59:57 But nonetheless. They stink. A 50 piece is a 50 piece. And went 17 for 29 from the field, 6 for 13 from three, and a perfect 11 for 11 from the line. He's too explosive. So this was the first game of a Wolves back-to-back, as we previously mentioned.
Starting point is 01:00:20 They have the Nuggets tonight with the top spot in the Western Conference on the line. You see 50. Big-ass change. Why he not hiring MVP? Why we just keep putting Joker and Luka over him? He's not even in it at all. That's impossible. How?
Starting point is 01:00:37 You see how they do it. That's another part of the script that they have to adjust. It's crazy that they even leave out certain players. You're not even in it. You can't even have a conversation about it. He hasn't been in it once. Based on previous criterias, top team in the league and everything that they've done this season.
Starting point is 01:00:55 They've been 1-4-3-2. Losing Katz back in March and what he's been able to do, still keeping them surging and still keeping them looking like they can get the number one seed in the West. You think they're going to? In one of the hardest West conferences What is that once cats contract that I know cats trying to come back right now and what's funny is That's his I'm sorry this might be the end of him. Yeah, he's already passed the torch. They probably take your time cat Because the fact that we still rollin without you but it's still the fact that he's already given up the torch
Starting point is 01:01:29 He's giving up the torch to add man. Yeah, so you don't really you was either gonna give it up or he was gonna take it No, I really had to give it up you don't have to get rid of them, but if Nas reek and filled if Nas can fill that void to the point where 18 and 10 20 and 10 if we can give you that to the point where 18 and 10, 20 and 10, if we can give you that for the price you are and get back some pieces and stuff for Cat, I'm pretty sure that'll happen. So Cat is under contract through 26, 27. He has a player option for the 27, 28 season at $61 million. Yeah, no, he can do that on another team.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Nas Reed signed a three-year extension this offseason. He's making 13 mil this year, 14 mil next year, 15 mil in 2025, 2026. They're getting rid of Cat. They're going to try to offload that 61 mil and try to bring in some more pieces. Bring in some pieces. Hell yeah. Oof. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:16 But let's talk about Ant briefly, and then we'll get to Cat. How impressive has Ant been in helping keep the Wolves atop the West without Cat? Been playing like an MVP. With no love whatsoever. None. Been playing like an MVP. With no love whatsoever. He playing like an MVP. Two-way player, too, by the way. Don't get that part out. Two-way.
Starting point is 01:02:32 He ain't ducking no smoke. He giving you 30, 27 to 30, and he guarding your player who averaged 30. He gonna be an All-NBA player? He should be, right? He should be All-NBA. First team. It's gonna be tough to be first team.
Starting point is 01:02:45 I don't think he's going to be first team. You know what? That kind of like... What is it? Shea, Luka? Shea, Luka, and him. Them three, somebody's going to get missed out. There's only two, right? Now you ask, you tell the league, this goes to media.
Starting point is 01:03:01 You tell us to play defense, right? You say, where's the defense at? That's what you, there's no defense. There's no defense. Your two MVPs or your two people that's for MVP don't play no defense. Three, four, and five plays both sides of the floor and you floor, and you don't push it. So what do you think it tells everyone else? Fuck defense. Just play all offense because that's all you're going to push anyway.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Being a two-way player don't benefit because you're not going to push it. You're only going to push the guys who put up all these numbers. Don't play no D. It's you. It's you. We're watching what you're pushing. If this is who you're putting. Okay, MVP, this is the type of guy, MVP, alright, 33-9-9,
Starting point is 01:03:54 no defense whatsoever, and he's top one or two? What do you think I want to do next year? Save all my energy for scoring. Put up a whole bunch of numbers. Because Ant can average probably four more points if he ain't played. Yeah, now you got somebody like Ant-Man who's playing both sides of the floor.
Starting point is 01:04:11 And you're like, well, he ain't even in defensive conversation. Well, fuck it. I don't want to be that guy. Right. He gets no credit. Shea Gill too been playing defensive. Shea Gill. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:04:19 You give no credit. You're giving no credit to the guys who are actually putting out an effort. Yeah. Do you blame the guys for not wanting to play defense is because you're not rewarding it If you reward it and say oh, we're gonna do the two-way guys then watch what happens To God didn't Lucas. I'm like well shit it not even yeah, even if they're not gonna reward me And I don't get rewarded for defense either who's the The two-way players. No, that's what I'm saying. I mean, defensive players, it's always the centers or the people getting on rebounds
Starting point is 01:04:48 and stuff. Yeah. Will's been, you know, top defense in the league. Yeah, that's crazy. Top defense. He's not even in one of the top offensive teams in the league. And I'm pretty sure Ed Manning be on all first defense. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:05:01 Is it? Can all three of them make first team All-NBA? Who? Seguil and Luka. It's positionless this year so there's a possibility. Okay, so those three. So those three. If you make him
Starting point is 01:05:12 all first team and he's not in the MVP conversation, that don't make no sense. You got Giannis, Tatum. I'm just saying there's a lot of names. Tatum will be the team.
Starting point is 01:05:21 You know Tatum's getting on there. So it'll be... I mean, so... Tatum, Jokic. Yeah, Tatum, Jokic. Tatum, Jok's getting on there. So it'll be... Pssst. I mean so... Tatum and Jokic. Yeah. Tatum, Jokic.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Tatum, Jokic. Giannis. Giannis, Shea, and... Luka. Luka. Over Ant, Ant gets second. I mean, no. Ant like first team.
Starting point is 01:05:36 But hold on, so it's... He has to be on second team if he not an MVP. But go Tatum. Joker. Joker. Luka. Ooh. SGA.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Ah, I'm going to be honest with you. SGA or MVP. Y'all guaranteeing. Y'all telling me SGA? Guaranteeing. Y'all keep guaranteeing. You think they're going to tweet. I'm saying they might put Jason on second team.
Starting point is 01:05:54 You ain't guaranteeing the dude whose team is number one. That's what I'm saying. But he's not even in the MVP conversation no more either. Because of Luka. He's like fifth or sixth right now. That's what I'm saying. But Luka is. The only way you. Because Ant is doing the same thing Tatum is doing. you don't always doing the same thing Tatum doing shake you doing the same thing Tatum
Starting point is 01:06:08 The only way you do it is if you penalize like you did Kobe you penalize Kobe Bryant for just thinking about scoring and you didn't reward him with the MVP until he started winning Are we gonna forget the NBA that y'all did that? When he put in, I'm going to be selfish, you guys said, well, no, this is not what we want. We want winning. We want y'all to think about winning, right? And then you rewarded him when his team won.
Starting point is 01:06:41 So he understood, all right, team wins, I win. The only way you get it back, when you did Detroit Pistons, right? You put the narrative of rewarding winning basketball. So if you put Luka in there as an individual and take away the guys who teams are winning, what are you setting? I got to go on record
Starting point is 01:07:09 and say it then. He can't be first team All-NBA over them dudes. It got to be Ant, Shea Gill, Tatum, Giannis, and Joker. I mean, it got to be that way. But then how do you give
Starting point is 01:07:20 a dude who's second to MVP? That's how you know the writers are getting it wrong. Right, they're not on the same page. The writers it wrong. Right. They're not on the same page. They're getting it wrong. The writers is getting it wrong. They're not on the same page. So you're the Ant over Luca.
Starting point is 01:07:30 They're changing. I'm not saying over whoever. I'm saying those five that I just named should be on there. Ant, Seagill, Tatum, Joker, and Giannis should be first team all NBA. There might be some others that could be, but I'm saying those five, they resume with winning and stats put together. Winning stats, both sides of the floor. Two-way players.
Starting point is 01:07:49 When you're talking about, like, think about the narrative they're pushing that the NBA don't play defense. And then the guys who do play it, they're not named. Y'all ignore. Four of those dudes are elite defenders. Four. Or, like, pretty good. Giannis is a very, you know. Good defender. Ant-Man a very... Good defender.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Ant-Man is an elite perimeter defender. Shea Gill leads the league in steals. Joker makes timely plays or whatever. And then it's like, what are we talking about? Tatum, you know... So those five names you mentioned, there was a name that was not included. That was Luka.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Hey, listen. No, he's saying he would put him on second team because he's not playing defense. That depends on what narrative he would have put in. But that's why you got an all-defensive team, though, right? he's saying like he will put him on second team because you're not playing defense That's depends on what narrative that's why you got an all defensive team though, right? These guys are all they Defense like This is gonna be interesting is what it is the internet is gonna be buzzing again It ain't even about that
Starting point is 01:08:43 That's how it's gonna be a turn. I mean look is doing Luka is doing some out-of-the-worldly stuff. But you've got to remember, it's their narrative on a criteria that they're switching when they want to. Ant-Man and them are number one and two all year. Shea Gill and them is number one and two all year long. They're scoring. On top of averaging 30 and 27 and all that. If they had the same team as Luka, they would average the same amount of points. I don't know about the rebounds.
Starting point is 01:09:10 I don't know about the rebounds. When it comes to the points, though, so they're sacrificing for the betterment of their team, but they're playing the defense that adds with it. The same thing that they've been complaining about that's not in this game. So don't tell me that you want defense and when it shows up, you ignore it. Right. So if Luka is first team, as he should be, then don't tell me about defense no more.
Starting point is 01:09:35 No more, man. Fuck your defensive talk. Because we know what you want. You want offense, then that's all I want to hear. I don't want to hear about the game is soft and it should be back there. What kind of rules we need to put in fuck your rules. Fuck your talk offense wins
Starting point is 01:09:50 Offense plays and that's what we're gonna reward moving forward those five that I miss don't make it one of those don't make it It's like Gil said they not rewarding defense man. They not None of those I name got a Kyrie on a team either, by the way. Not one of them. They say the best defense is a good offense, though. That's cat. That's cat. Because the all-time greats did both. So we talked about the Ant-MJ comparisons.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Mike said he sees similarities in their games. But is Ant-Man the second coming of MJ? That's unfair because they know about MJ. But he's cut from that MJ Coby from the club Who wrote that who wrote that is the second coming of MJ? Yeah, stop that the media said that right? Second coming to MJ, but he ain't in top five. Right. Boy, y'all, you see the stupid. You see how stupid they be. He's the next MJ.
Starting point is 01:10:50 With the number one seed. With the number one seed that's coming to MJ. Hey, how about MVP? Oh, no, no, no, no, no. No, that's not in the script. And not even to put those expectations, but when you watch the game, you see the similarities. You see the strides that he's taken in his first four seasons in the league.
Starting point is 01:11:07 I'm just... He cut from that cloth. It's one thing if the Wolves aren't a top four or five team in the West. They're number one in the West right now. They're treating him like the next Tracy McGrady, which is not a bad thing, but not even. Like, he plays both sides. Like, it's weird, man. It's weird, man.
Starting point is 01:11:22 He cut from the coat of Jordan cloth. He playing offense and defense. He leading. He got flair. It's weird, man. He cut from the Kobe, Jordan, Kloff. He playing offense and defense. He leading. He got flair. He got the swagger. He got a different look. He don't look like the rest of the stars. I'm saying, Mark, if he's a star, he's a superstar. If you're gonna write a narrative, wouldn't that be the type of player you write?
Starting point is 01:11:37 He's literally, like, the perfect NBA superstar for this time, this generation. Kids love him. love them big up older people love them facts lex i'm yeah you can big up oh his defense look at his defense is sad right you can start putting him in the talk of defensive player of the year like if you're gonna run a narrative run a narrative that makes sense all the way through the game itself don't have four or five different narratives
Starting point is 01:12:06 moving into the nba if you're going to have a narrative have it all the way through don't have a defensive narrative that oh offense is taking over the game but you're pushing on the offensive guys taking away from defensive guys he's the next michael jordan but you don't have him in any category that makes that narrative run. And when I say second coming, I mean from an overall package. Not just what he does on the court, but personality, the player. He was defensive player of the year.
Starting point is 01:12:34 Like, on the ballot every year, first team all defense, every year scoring, like, everything. If you're going to write this, write it. Yeah, write it right. Like, having top three MVP, having top three defensive player team. Write it right. Write it right, man.
Starting point is 01:12:50 So we'll see. You ain't got to give him, oh, he done jumped. Let him get five steals. Oh, he done jumped Rudy Goldberg. Make it good. Because his game is showing. He giving you the highlights and the substance. He showing you the pivot.
Starting point is 01:13:04 He dunking on whoever. He playing defense. He talking the talk. The interviews is showing. He giving you the highlights and the substance. He's showing you the pivot. He dunking on whoever. He playing defense. He talking the talk. The interviews is funny. Like, man, write the script. Tell me, listen. Listen. You see how I can splash the motherfucker headline. Give me the pen. Give me the pen and I guarantee
Starting point is 01:13:19 you, y'all will be tuned in, motherfucker. Like, yo. If you had to write a headline Right now everybody to put and Edwards in the MVP conversation. What would the headline be? No, I ain't about that. I'd be it'd be the storyline Like right now Luca and Luca and Dallas play against each other right? Look good Luca and Denver no and no Denver play
Starting point is 01:13:45 Luca do they play against each other? When? Talking about in the playoff? No, this year. This year, at the end. Last game, when do they play? Let me pull it up. Are you about to make a story?
Starting point is 01:13:56 Oh, you mean Minnesota versus Dallas? Minnesota versus Dallas. Do they have a game? Are you talking about Mavs-Timberwolves? Mavs-Timberwolves. No, Mavs-Timberwolves? Mavs-Timberwolves. No, Mavs against Denver. Denver versus Mavs. No.
Starting point is 01:14:12 So, let me see. So, they don't play no more this year. So, Nuggets' last three games are Timberwolves tonight, at the Spurs, and at the Grizzlies. Big game. Oh, see. So, if it was Luke and him, whoever wins this game is my definite MVP. Right? shit like that
Starting point is 01:14:29 right like Timberwolves win. Ooh, Ant-Man is a Sure candidate for top two MVP votes right at Luke If what's the name like I'm I have I have the shit written on both sides of it, right? This is motherfucker power going on Yeah, I just feel like the media like they just don't take everything into account Both sides of it. Right? This is motherfucking power going on. Right. Yeah. I just feel like the media, like, they just don't take everything into account.
Starting point is 01:14:49 They got their narrative, they want to stick to it, and then when something goes off the rails, then they just kind of, like, start just picking stuff from the sky instead of just expecting, like...
Starting point is 01:14:57 What? I just feel like as journalists, you should, like, think of multiple possible scenarios. Multiple, yeah, scenarios. But they don't. They don't.
Starting point is 01:15:03 They have their one, and they will do everything in their power to stick to it. Well, the real thing is, how much basketball is everybody actually watching? I don't know if they really watch it. None. Right?
Starting point is 01:15:12 None. The other thing I'll say, even if they are watching it, are they understanding what they're watching? Of course not. I don't think they're understanding what they see. They make that very clear every day. But they know what they see
Starting point is 01:15:22 because they keep saying it, but they're not writing, they're not pushing it as they should be pushing it. They talk know what they see because they keep saying it, but they're not writing, they're not pushing it as they should be pushing it. They talk and they ain't walking. You're spending too much time trying to make weird cases for the people you want.
Starting point is 01:15:36 You don't have to make a case for Luka, his game does it itself. You don't have to make a case for Jokic, his game does it itself. You don't need to make fantasy stats up. Right. The first center in history. Okay, but he's like the 47th player in history. But no center. The fuck does that mean? Center's not a player anymore? Right. What do you mean it's a player? It's not impressive if you have a big man doing it. No. Just like if
Starting point is 01:16:02 I had a, why wasn't it, it wasn't impressive when uh a guard was getting 10 rebounds just send rebounds go get it we know the hate that westbrook but i'm just saying go get it we don't yeah they was mad at him for getting all them yeah we don't care what size you are he's yeah you step out of getting all those you're telling me that it's more impressive it's less impressive that yokishic can get 11, but Westbrook can get 11. That's all right. There's no difference.
Starting point is 01:16:30 A basketball player is a basketball player. I don't give a fuck if you 5'10". 5'10", getting 10 rebounds, you got 10 rebounds as a guard. A guard got 10 rebounds, he got 10 as a... You get 10. I don't need to write, oh, under 5'10", first 5'10 person in history to have 10 rebounds. What the fuck is that?
Starting point is 01:16:48 That's what I'm saying. That's when you start doing fantasy stuff, just trying to push the narrative. Basketball is basketball. Let it play out the way it's going to play out. But if you want to push narratives, push it the right way. This right now, I'm like, if you want this game to be important to your viewers, this MVP race
Starting point is 01:17:09 will be going down to the wire on Jokic versus Ant-Man. If he jumps him, if he wins this game, Ant-Man without Cat, I will have it written. When James Harden was in Vegas, I would have had written when James Harden was in Vegas.
Starting point is 01:17:27 I would have had two printouts. How horrible James Harden must be as a human being, being in Vegas, slapping old folks, and get slapped in the playoffs. Get slapped game one. And then he wins it. Oh, he's on his Michael Jordan type stuff. Being in Vegas, and we're at the strip club coming down. I feel like you have to have both ready.
Starting point is 01:17:50 Twerking on the team. I would have a headline for both. He's going to be a hero or a villain on both sides of it. I'm not going to let the man score 40-something, burn a team, and then pretend he wasn't, and I'm going to make him seem like an amazing
Starting point is 01:18:08 dude, hero, for doing what he did, or a villain. That's how you're supposed to do it. You're supposed to have you're supposed to have it on both sides of it. Yeah, both sides. They had their shit written, oh, he's an asshole idiot doing this, and then when he does it, you don't have nothing. Comes and drops a 45,
Starting point is 01:18:24 you know, this is it. You don't have nothing. Comes and drops a 45, you know, this is it. You don't have nothing. Man. 45 at the strip club after slapping somebody, whoo! He still must be on the slap tour, I don't know. But you have to have something edgy for both sides of it. I just feel like that's simple. And all of that's the truth too.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Whatever one that you wrote, both of them would have been true. Both of them been true. That's how we make narratives. We We make me a little narrative right now cuz they all in the same conference, too Yeah, we saw what Minnesota was last year. Mm-hmm. We saw what okay see was last year. Yeah, the difference is There are two MVP players to get up a notch check it up enough And they're both above Dallas. But yet somehow Dallas' player is above them in the MVP race. The narrative makes no sense. And then y'all want to say he's the next coming of Michael Jordan. Yeah. How is that possible? Stop using Jordan's name so casual if you're going to pass. Yeah, you're using it casually. Y'all using his
Starting point is 01:19:19 name real casually. You're using it casually. He's probably sick of it. Jordan's name should be, when you mention his name, his name should just, hey, man, listen. With the utmost. Stop mentioning his name. He shouldn't even mention it. Seriously. Like, they got me thinking I'm motherfucking the next Michael at something.
Starting point is 01:19:34 They be throwing that shit around. For everybody. They need to stop doing that. There's like five players in the league that have been compared to Michael. You are the MJM contest. Who? No, they're not.
Starting point is 01:19:42 It's like five. Five? Not even. No. This year. This year. I'm saying this season. Yeah, the MJF contest. It's like five. Five. Not even. No, this year. This year. Yeah, they're saying it. They throw it out.
Starting point is 01:19:48 Stop using Jordan's name in vain like that. It's blasphemy. Yeah. For real. They're about to start making it. It ain't even the first year. I'm about to be on my, give a read on my,
Starting point is 01:19:56 I'm about to start trolling cats that keep using his name in vain. It's not even, it's not even, it's not even the rookie Jordan. They using the sixth MVP Jordan. Yes. Wait a minute. Hold up. Hold up. They using the sixth MVP Jordan. Yes. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:20:06 Hold up. Hold up. Wait a minute. The trajectory. We got to change the names. Are they using MJ, his hair? His hair this? His hair this?
Starting point is 01:20:15 Which one are they using him to? Either one of them, y'all wrong. They said Michael Jordan? Yeah. Okay, which one? Michael Jordan? Start putting years around. Not the sixth champ, sixth finals MVP.
Starting point is 01:20:24 Oh, they talking about the Wizards Okay, he's the next coming to the Wizards All right, everybody now is a 20-point score by All you know, it's you in one knee on one knee. Yeah, that's the Wizards your all 82 games. Yeah, that's the Wizards your No, everybody who's compared moving forward is being compared to the Wizards Jordan MJ96 that no we're not there yet we're not there no one's there but nobody's there MJ himself said he sees similarities in that I see similar but you know what which when MJ was a young player he was averaging like 37
Starting point is 01:20:57 similarities win win similarities to win Can we start asking that question? His shoe was number one. Nike went from being no name to being top brand name. That's what Jordan did. I'll text. I'll text. I'm sorry. What similarity did you see?
Starting point is 01:21:14 Yeah, like what year? What year exactly? What time of your career do you see the similarity? All right, well, let's keep this to me. Not my 88 year. That year. Like when they say Gil remind me of Ja job reminds me I know what you they talking about It has nothing to do with basketball I know when you mention that
Starting point is 01:21:44 Tuesday drolla bead had his best game since returning from knee surgery earlier this month. So he dropped 37 points, 11 boards, and 8 dimes in 36 minutes, which is also the most he's played. He's coming back April 2nd. And the Sixers got the win. Again, this is our food, but nonetheless, 37 is 37 in Adam Silver's NBA. And he's looking, I'm going to be real, he's looking like he's getting back to close to where he was. So, more buckets to be seen.
Starting point is 01:22:20 Bam. What knee is it? Is this his right knee? Left knee, I believe. So, Sixers win keeps him a game behind the Pacers for the sixth spot and a game and a half behind the Magic and Cavs for the fourth seed. But there was a scary moment with about seven and a half minutes to go in the third quarter that Gil I know you'll look at. So leg appears to, I don't know if it's the knee brace. He lucky he got that knee brace on. So,'t know if it's the knee brace.
Starting point is 01:22:46 He lucky he got that knee brace on. So, you know, it was a scary moment. He was not impacted. They probably told him, don't you ever go for no loose ball. Let it go. So he was shaking up momentarily, did play the rest of the game, didn't appear to be an issue, but. Scary.
Starting point is 01:23:04 Now, if you're the Sixers, I'm just saying, like, that's, again, when we talk about this those are the those are the moments that i say it ain't worth it facts right your body ain't your body ain't ready for a mistake right it ain't ready for a little tweak right you're not a hundred you're not a hundred percent 100%. 100% with a tweak gets you about 90, 75. Sitting here at 60, a tweak, you might be done. Those are the moments that
Starting point is 01:23:33 scares. That scared me. But that's his right knee he's holding. Nah, that was his left. Did he hurt his left? He had it on his brace. No, he got his left. That was his left. That was his left. That was his left. That was his left. Did he hurt his left? That's what I mean.
Starting point is 01:23:47 Man, I don't know. He had his left on his brace. No, he got two braces on. He got a brace on his left and his right. Left. Watch, watch. His left knee. No, but watch when he turns.
Starting point is 01:23:55 No, no, I see that. Watch. When he turns, look what knee does he grab? Oh, yeah, his right. Oh. I think he's grabbing the left knee. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, all right.
Starting point is 01:24:03 He's just trying to brace himself. Like I said, I'm looking at that like, wait, hold on. Okay. Yeah, I think he's just trying to brace himself at that point. He looks good, though. So, Lexi, how impressive has Embiid been since coming back from injury? Very impressive. I mean, I was one of the only ones that said that as long as his condition is straight,
Starting point is 01:24:21 then he's going to come back and be fine. But, yeah, he's got to be careful with plays like that. You don't got to jeopardize at all for a loose ball against the Pistons That's now would be the you know, that's like Being you said you had you said you have more faith in Embiid being able to have a successful playoffs compared to Giannis with the calf strain right now, just because he can control. Yeah, I mean, for the most part, he can control his body. I mean, when you think about even the injury, when he did go out, someone fell on it, right?
Starting point is 01:24:57 And then you have something like this where you're trying to save the ball. I'm pretty sure moving forward, you know, he's not gonna take charges, right? He's not gonna try to get off the ground. He's not gonna be diving in the stands, right? So he's gonna be really in a controlled environment. So I I'm safer with that versus someone like Giannis, right? You see how he hurts just moving up the floor And that's close enough to his Achilles where we know if he was running or jumping that would have been his Achilles explosion so you know what Jan is that I'm more worried I'm more worried now about how you know Janice is going to be moving forward because he plays with he plays with all explosion.
Starting point is 01:25:46 And Norris, what do you think about? I think in B, I'm glad to see him back. His skill set is so diverse where he can play while not being 100%. He still has to be careful because he is like a 300-pound dude, but his skill set, he can shoot the ball well. He can change pace. He don't have to play.
Starting point is 01:26:05 It sounds weird, but he don't have to play with so much effort You know the way like a honest place, you know, and I'm sure Nick nurse probably gonna tell him like hey man And all that loose ball stuff. That's Kelly Oubre job. That's Kyle. I read job. That is not your job to be doing that and so I Think you know him being injured, I agree with Gil. I trust him being able to play a little bit better than Giannis because a non-contact injury as athletes, we all know them the worst ones. Because those are the ones where it's just us in gravity.
Starting point is 01:26:37 Nobody forced us to do nothing, and those are the scariest ones. Yeah. Sure. So we talked about the all-NBA discussion, who should be first team, who should be second team We got to talk about Jalen Brunson Continued his bucket getting explosion Was waiting to see if I was gonna say second team, but he's guaranteed second
Starting point is 01:27:01 Continues Bucky getting explosion against the Bulls we saw that a Hunter drumming all that stuff earlier in the game. But Brunson was the story of the game. 45 points and eight dimes. He was 13 for 24 from the field. His seven threes, perfect 12 for 12 from the free throw line. And you just talk about trying to impress the voters as we get near the end of the season. In his last four games, Brunson's averaging 39.5 points,
Starting point is 01:27:25 10 assists, four rebounds. No, the way he can get his shirt off is crazy. That's nasty. His pickup is easy. It's so quick. So what is Jalen Brunson showing you this season, and where would you rank him amongst the top guards in the league, just based on the productivity?
Starting point is 01:27:41 Right after that list that we listed. Right after the list we just named. You got Shea Gill, you got Ant-Man, you got Luka, and then for guards, you know, you got him and Steph from the top guards in the league.
Starting point is 01:27:54 Kyrie. He's above, he's under Kyrie. For me, now, I got Brunson over Kyrie. For NBA for now. For NBA right now. NBA. Oh, yeah
Starting point is 01:28:08 Every right there like this With the surge of Brunson in New York Nick Brunson write the script is officially fourth in MVP vote We need a New York New York will be fight, But that's what you need. You need... But I'm just saying, you need the market from New York to explode. For sure.
Starting point is 01:28:31 Right? You know what I'm saying? And the fact that he has probably been... And this is no offense to Melo. He has probably been... Take it easy. I know, I'm trying to...
Starting point is 01:28:49 I got to choose my words carefully. Take it easy, please. I'm listening, too. I'm like, take it easy. Take it back. You can take it back. The most dominant guard. Ha!
Starting point is 01:29:05 I like how you said that. I slid out of there. The most dominant guard. Ha! Ha! I like how you said that. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there.
Starting point is 01:29:10 I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I like how you said that. Gil's learning.
Starting point is 01:29:15 Gil, you a smart dude. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. I slid out of there. Look what happens when you sit and think. Since. Since. I mean, shit. Since? Since? I mean, shit.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Since Linsanity. I mean, I was only four. I was only four two weeks. Hey, but that was a very dominant two weeks. The league ain't never, the league never seen nothing like that, by the way. That's insane. No, no, no, that's true. I mean, but for the most part, I mean, when you're talking about, like, not a superstar,
Starting point is 01:29:43 because, you know, he's not mellow named. Right. Non-superstar? Is this probably the best player in Knicks history that didn't have a superstar name? I'm rolling with that. I can roll with that. Steve? Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 01:29:57 We can roll with that. Okay, okay. I think he's a superstar. Is he playing himself to a superstar level, Gil? Superstar is a name. It's not a game. Jalen Brunson has a good name. It's getting in. Gil's is a name. It's not a game. Jalen Brunson has a good name. It's not a game. Gil's right though.
Starting point is 01:30:08 It's a brand. Is there like a window of... He got a brand. He got a podcast. He's doing things. He has a window. He's emerging. He's emerging. He's creeping on Gil's arena. He did have his buddies. It's like it's your personality and stuff. Like what's
Starting point is 01:30:23 so funny? Like Josh Hart has more... If he, it's your personality and stuff. Like, what's so funny, like, Josh Hart has more, like, if you take Josh Hart. If you take Josh Hart's personality and put it in Jalen Bredesen, you would have a superstar. Yeah, you have a, it's just that. Yeah. A superstar is something that started back when you were in high school. Right? It's just, it just follows you. Like, let's just say, like, LaMelo Ball, that he's the, it's.
Starting point is 01:30:43 You can put his name on the rack and people going to buy it. Brunson has to really go out there and earn every good thing you're going to say about him. You know what I mean? That's just... It can happen though. In New York, he in the right
Starting point is 01:31:01 place. He in the right place. They make it far enough in the right place. I mean you know right They're gonna have to do what they did with penny Create some alter ego type of thing that can Push his name out a little bit more. That's a fact. I that was that was the thing with penny He didn't he didn't speak but playing a little bit Make him more like personable. Yeah, for sure. Because he don't talk. Penny a fine actor, though, without our blue chip. That's so smart. You see how Kawhi, they kind of had the robot is Kawhi robot.
Starting point is 01:31:32 They had something that ran with it that kind of gave the personality form. They should be doing that right now for Brunson. But do you feel like Brunson's playing his way to that superstar status this year? After 28.4 points per game, fourth in the NBA right now, playing in the biggest market in the country. The Knicks fans are resurgent. The games are turnt up. I don't get...
Starting point is 01:31:53 Where's the Knicks? If they can make a run... Where's the Rappaports? Where's those Knicks guys? At the game. Where's the New York narrative that really just... Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 01:32:09 It is formulating. When Sid Lannity... Sid Lannity. When he was balling, I mean, the city was on fire. It was on fire. And right now, I'm pretty sure the city's on fire,
Starting point is 01:32:18 but we can't see it. It's a tiny fire. Right? It's a little campfire right now. This is when New York's supposed to throw New York in everybody's face. Y'all have the player, y'all have the team to do it. This is when New York stands up. I guess they stood up so many times.
Starting point is 01:32:41 They so scared. They slow, they like, they like, they sit like, oh. New York is in there like, ah, we've been doing this too many times. We've been doing this forever. Tired of standing up. Pull us, Jalen. Pull us up. He definitely stamped second team All-NBA.
Starting point is 01:32:57 Yeah, you can give it to him. Go ahead, book him. And what's so funny is, and if somebody put him in first team, nobody will, I wouldn't say anything. I'd be like, man. No, no. You ain't really going to have no. It depends on who's not in there. I'm about to say.
Starting point is 01:33:10 His team. Right. He has one of those things, too. His team ain't that good. The number one or two options gone, and he's been carrying them. Right. It's one of those guys that. It's a compelling argument.
Starting point is 01:33:23 Julius Randle, obviously, with the shoulder the shoulder now gonna be out for the season It's he'd be cooking cats today. He's trying to get up with Amy. Maybe he's like he's that dude that you don't want to play Especially the playoffs like you like He's the guy who plays for his daddy yeah, he got all the shots you get all the shots But he's that type in high school. He do play for his dad. Yeah, I know. He do play for his dad. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:33:48 He's like the dude that played for his dad. He be like, ah, damn. There was a lot of talk earlier in the season about teams not being able to win playing through a small guard like Brunson, but should he be the poster boy for showing that you can play through small guards in this league now? Nah, teams can't win a championship. Can't win championships. That nerd, it ain't changed.
Starting point is 01:34:02 If your best player is your smallest player over the history of the game, it's never been... Isaiah is the only person that ever happened like that. Mm-hmm. And Steph. And Steph ain't that little. But Steph is 6'4". Steph is 6'3", 6'4".
Starting point is 01:34:16 Yeah. I get it. I get it. How tall is Jay Rose in 6'4"? Like 5'11", 5'11". That's very impressive. That's what I said. Steph looks little because he's skinny.
Starting point is 01:34:25 Right. And he's skinny. He's skinny and light-skinned. He's always under a... Skinny, light-skinned, wearing yellow kind of looks. Green eyes, like, yeah. Green eyes. He just looks small.
Starting point is 01:34:36 Green eyes, dark, dark, dark black man's hair. He don't got... He don't... He got the South... He don't got the South African. He got the regular African hair. He got some hot texture. He got some hot texture here. He got some hot texture here. He got the regular African hair. He got some hot texture.
Starting point is 01:34:48 He got some hot texture here. He got this. He don't got this up here. He don't got that Josiah. He don't got the Josiah. I used to, Gil. I wear hats now. The curl has diminished.
Starting point is 01:34:57 You got the silky. As soon as you wet your hair, it's wavy. That joint that look like straight cat hair just- Never needed hair. Straight wet. Just that joint that look like straight cat here. Just never needed hair Straight wet just adjust add water curl. Yeah, yeah, as we used to say back in my heyday when it was flourishing It's my better Second I mean the fact that he's like he's doing that and he's going to second team like ah And that's again. I mean it's let you know what they doing out west, though.
Starting point is 01:35:26 I just let you know. Shit, west. But it feels like he's making a statement. The East has been a little weak this year, but he's making a statement out there for the Knicks. And you talk about the star power of just the city he's playing in. You may not think he has a superstar name,
Starting point is 01:35:38 but he's playing in the largest market in the country. I know. Putting in work like this. But that's the problem. They need to do more. You're in the biggest market, and that market's not just flood. I mean, I don't know if y'all understand. New York is huge.
Starting point is 01:35:50 Okay, like what I'm saying is this. Los Angeles, the three biggest markets, right? New York, Los Angeles, Boston. Yep. And Chicago. And Chicago, that's fourth, right? Lakers is in. What's he?
Starting point is 01:36:06 Bottom of the ninth? Bottom feeding team. We talk about this five times a week, and we only do a show four times a week. Not bottom feeding, dude. Well, think about it. We're going to talk about the Lakers. That's just everybody. All sports are going to talk about the Lakers.
Starting point is 01:36:23 What's the important going to talk about the lakers what's important to him to talk about so where that's where is the new york media where it used to be where they pushed their nicks boston y'all they they finally have the team to just flood the market and we don't i get it because they used to be talking about the Knicks all the time. Knicks all the time. Even when they weren't good. They were always front and center. Front and center. New York, boom, in your face. You know what I mean? Even in the sports center.
Starting point is 01:36:52 Air Force Ones would have been selling out. Get ready for the summer. Now you have members of New York media who don't even know some of the players on the team. I know. That's what I'm saying. That's facts. They don't even. That's unfortunate.
Starting point is 01:37:05 I don't know everybody on the Lakers. You don't need to. As soon as they get the sub, I'm like, oh my God. Click. I mean... Sam Vinson. You got Gil... You got Gil Vinson on the team.
Starting point is 01:37:19 There we go. Another one. Another one. I'm so disrespected. We all crazy. So, Brunson's been super impressive. Another one. We got Gil Vincent. Another one. Y'all so disrespectful. Y'all crazy. So Brunson's been super impressive, but we also got to talk about something else that was extremely impressive.
Starting point is 01:37:30 The women's tournament smashed records this year. It started with the Iowa-LSU game getting 12.3 million viewers, which was a record at the time. Then the Iowa-UConn game broke that record in their Final Four meeting Friday with 14.2 million viewers. And the national Championship game on Sunday
Starting point is 01:37:46 had an average of 18.9 million viewers, smacking the men's final by more than 4 million viewers. Some of us were at that game. Good, we don't know. You know. You're still on your way. So the women's Natty game had more viewers than the men's game for the first time ever.
Starting point is 01:38:05 Alexia, I saw you over there pumping your fist. Very great. When you see news like that, you know. That was the narrative that was being pushed all through the tournament, that the women's tournament was better. I mean, it was. I think it's safe to say it was. That shit was incredibly enjoyable.
Starting point is 01:38:21 Yeah, that number, I mean, after seeing how last year's Final Four played out, I knew that this year's Final Four was going to be even bigger, especially with Iowa, LSU, UConn with Paige coming back, Juju. It all aligned perfectly. Yeah, well, the selection committee, I feel like. Yeah, the way that they had all four of them play back-to-back-to-back for a whole weekend, and then the final four the same, you couldn't have asked for a better turnout for that.
Starting point is 01:38:55 It's crazy. I just feel like the women's game has more star power, and that's kind of a revolving theme in what we talk about. We watch for names, right? Angel, Caitlyn, Juju, just all the names. And obviously, Dawn Staley, what she was doing with South Carolina, that whole crew. Camila Cardozo and that. I mean, there were just names.
Starting point is 01:39:10 I remember when I was in college and I wasn't even a super, super star. But every time I did something well or I had a good game, it would be like, oh, Lexi and her team, and Lexi and this player, and this person. And it was never just, but happened with like a lot of players so now that one player can like be the face and name of that program like I think is really cool because I Mean Kayla said it in her one of her her interviews or articles that like she's like I work harder than all of them Like this my shit like and that's that's valid because she probably does work way harder. And that's the reality for a lot of players that eventually become pros.
Starting point is 01:39:49 Like, you're working harder than everybody. So the fact that these girls are being rewarded for that work is cool to see. And it's safe to say a lot of tension on Kaitlyn Clark, but the bigger story, Don Staley, South Carolina, 38-0. Crazy. Perfect season. Yep. Got the big win in the natty game over Kaitlyn Clark and her Ohio squad.
Starting point is 01:40:09 So how impressive was Dawn Staley and her South Carolina squad going undefeated this season? I mean, Dawn is like one of a kind, and she's been so special to this game. And she's just herself, and I think that's what everyone loves about her. She's just who she is. She gets those players to play so hard for her and her system. They care about each other. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for them.
Starting point is 01:40:32 Nothing close to that. Yeah, and then people talk about how, like, women's college basketball was born because you had, like, a dominant program. But, like, South Carolina's been dominant for a few years now, so that doesn't really make sense. But I'm really happy for them. I wish they were being celebrated a bit more than what they are, but they got the reign and the trophy at the end of the day.
Starting point is 01:40:55 That's all that matters. It was entertaining to me to watch. This year was more entertaining than watching the guys play. But it was more so, I think the style of play for the female game is growing. Like, Caitlyn plays kind of like how the men's play. She hits you with step backs. She do stuff that like Steph and them do. People are not used to seeing a woman be able to do that.
Starting point is 01:41:22 So it's entertaining when you see that Paige. She can hoop. When she's healthy, it's probably maybe even better than Caitlyn. And Juju, you see how she played? It's aesthetically pleasing to watch the style of how she moves and how she plays. All the stars of this year's tournament and season, you want to watch it. And I think it's nice for them to be rewarded because I didn't even watch some of the men's college games, not from start to finish. I would tap in but I watched
Starting point is 01:41:49 Juju, USC and UConn from start to finish. I watched Kalen when they played against LSU from start to finish. I watched the Final Four, all those games, I watched them from start to finish because the style of play in which they play was like, it was actually like fun to watch. The athletic, the shot making ability, the conditioning, and it was different styles. LSU played six or seven players. Them girls was in shape all game long. Then you got South Carolina, she could sub any girl in and they go no drop off. Then you got Kaitlyn who's the singular
Starting point is 01:42:23 star power who can also drop dimes. And you got Paige who's so efficient. She almost like a KD. She don't miss. She get open, it's cash. Her 50-40-90 almost splits like that. It's crazy. So just the style of play I like. And then Juju, she one of a kind freshman. What it's making me do is making me go back to looking at the older players' college days that I used to watch. People forget Candice was like that. Man.
Starting point is 01:42:48 Like, you go back and watch her. Candice. She's, like, they be saying these girls is goats. I be like, they are good. They're good, but let's not. Candice Parker. I'm like, wait till y'all tune in to. Man, I watched the highlights. Professionally.
Starting point is 01:42:58 Man. Where are they going? Candice was like that. There's some elite. Maya Moore. Hell yeah. Like that. Let's talk about the next step that they'll be making. Candace was like that. Candace was like that. There's some elite. My Amour. Hell yeah. Like that.
Starting point is 01:43:06 Let's talk about the next step that they'll be making. So, Kalen Clark capped off her college career with several records, including the most- First of all- Oh, God. First of all, we're not going to pretend that the ratings were the ratings because people enjoyed watching the girls' game. They enjoy watching Kalen Clark. We know that. One thing that's glaring in women basketball college that the four best players
Starting point is 01:43:39 have been the four best players from their freshman to now, which lets you know that there's a real big separation in talent pool in women's basketball. Right? You know, the first, like, one, two, three, four, right? Five. It's five. I've never seen rankings pan out like that before.
Starting point is 01:43:59 Yeah, five, and then it's the same five. They just mix it in different orders. I've never seen that before. Right, so it's kind of sure, like, there's no one that's jumped in, so it's the same five they just mixed it in different orders. I've never seen that before. It's kind of sure like there's no one that's jumped in so it's like they stood above everyone coming out of high school. The same five is the same five. At least they got the rankings right this time.
Starting point is 01:44:16 You be seeing rankings top five and you be like whoa that was the top five player in high school? At least they got it right. That they got the five right. Let's be honest on why the girls viewingship was higher than the boys'. One was on cable. One was on local-ass TV. Right?
Starting point is 01:44:35 So women's basketball. Been the case for a while. Women's basketball was on regular TV, local station, so all you needed was a goddamn antenna and you can watch the game ABC both ABC I'm talking about ABC we're talking about the ABC
Starting point is 01:44:53 was on regular ass local TV so don't y'all can't push that narrative against me what right you can't push the narrative y'all can push it it was watched by everybody ABC because everybody can watch it all everybody can watch local. But that's the point that we're trying to make, though.
Starting point is 01:45:08 The men's game was on TBS, and you need cable. But the fact that they turned their TV on and watched it, though. So I can watch. What I'm saying is you need cable to watch one. So you need a provider. If you don't have cable, which a lot of people don't have cable anymore, right? You need a provider to watch Now you sound like how we've been sounding for years
Starting point is 01:45:28 Yes, put them on the channel. That's easy for everyone to watch but people gonna watch y'all y'all ass It should be on ABC to yeah Like that's that's the only that's all that we've been saying you can't criticize something. I'm not You I'm saying in general like if it's not available for everyone to watch, you can't be like, oh, nobody watches it. Because nobody can. Like, stuff like this, if you want the numbers to be pushed, you got to. Oh, yeah. Those, like, come.
Starting point is 01:45:54 You have to, like, if. Considering that this was the most boring men's tournament of all time. You still put the ones boring. Yeah, but you still threw crazy numbers, but I mean, it's still good. I just wish that they would just let the women... We were at the game.
Starting point is 01:46:09 The atmosphere was cool. I'm just saying, it's cool to be in a... It's sold out a football stadium. It's still impressive. 70,000 people. I also don't like how they were...
Starting point is 01:46:18 I mean, yes, it's amazing that the women's tournament was good, but the way that everyone was just sitting on a men's tournament, I'm like, okay, like... Yeah, that's not what we're trying to do.
Starting point is 01:46:25 We've been there, so y'all can relax, because that's how we feel all the time. So we're like, not too much on the men. Those are still great basketball players playing for a championship. Some of them. But that's what I'm saying. You would have thought it would have been the other way around for the girls to be this exciting. You thought they would have put them on cable for the cable providers
Starting point is 01:46:46 and then put the boys on regular TV and let y'all be local. I think either way this year, people's tuning in to watch cable. I'm going to be honest with you. Yeah. You got casuals that don't even really watch basketball. What I'm saying is you don't need cable.
Starting point is 01:46:59 You can just turn on your TV. You can turn on your TV. It's right there, channel three or four or five, right? Versus going to find it streaming it So yeah, so I mean that's I mean, that's the only that's what you guys are on a platform, right? It's growing we have some well not us the sparks but They released the fever schedule. They got 36 36 other 40 they had one national televised game last year. I was like, don't be dumb.
Starting point is 01:47:25 How many have this year? 36. Well, that means you're shit. Y'all going to be playing? They see the ticket sold out already. I'm like, don't be dumb, WBA. Double prices. But let's be real.
Starting point is 01:47:33 That's the Caitlin Clark effect. Same thing with Wemby. They put him on TV every day, too. Like, let's not overreact about this. Like, this is just smart business decisions being made. Yeah. That's what I said. But the business, that's what I said. But the business, that's what I said, the business, for the game to grow, heads have to be cut off.
Starting point is 01:47:51 Yeah. Period, right? The NBA does it all the time. You see Wimby, right, with the new Nike Wimby commercial. They're capitalizing in real time right now. And, you know, the dub needs to see it. They need to see, all right, this is what the NBA is doing. We need to do it. There needs to see it they need to see all right this is what the NBA doing this this we need to do it there needs to be a Kaitlyn Cart logo they need to you need to
Starting point is 01:48:10 start putting these things in place so you can run with it yeah right you know what I mean like the like the Diana Taurasi and all of them it was funny so let's soon as that game start sit your old ass down. Two fouls. Sit down. And then newspaper. Kaitlyn Clark bodies DT. It's a new era. Because I don't need you anymore.
Starting point is 01:48:33 I feel like she kind of hating, too. But I'm saying it don't matter. Nah, that's just DT. But that's just her. But it's 28. That's DT being DT. Let's talk about it. So Kaitlyn Clark and this whole rookie class come in.
Starting point is 01:48:43 Obviously, a lot of hype, a lot of anticipation. Like you said, 36 of their 40 games are nationally televised. So, Diana Taurasi has some thoughts on it. And let Kaitlin and all the other incoming rookies know what they can expect when they come to the W. What will the league have in store for them when they get there? Look, SVP, reality is coming. Okay. You know, there's, reality is coming. Okay. You know, there's levels to this thing.
Starting point is 01:49:08 And that's just life. We all went through it. Of course. And you see it on the NBA side. And you're going to see it on this side where, you know, you look superhuman playing against 18-year-olds, but you're going to come with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time. Not saying that it's not going to translate because when you're great at what you do, you're just going to get better. But there is going to be a transition period
Starting point is 01:49:27 where you're going to have to give yourself some grace as a rookie. And, you know, it might take a little bit longer for some people. So Norris, you know, some people might think this is hate, but this is nothing new for Taraji. This is nothing new for her. Travel.
Starting point is 01:49:43 Carrying. Pushing off. I'm going to call, I don't I don't need you, listen you held it down for 20 years, congratulations she talking like she the 24 year old Tarazi, Katelyn Clark will cook her right now
Starting point is 01:49:55 I'm pretty sure that Savannah's last season but but but but I'm saying even fair matchup who wins this, DT right, even a fair matchup, who wins this? DT, right? In a fair matchup? If you don't blow the whistle and...
Starting point is 01:50:11 Because remember... Today? Yes. I mean, Diana have a 40-piece life. Yeah, she gonna get her shit off because shit, at this point...
Starting point is 01:50:17 But she's smart. She's smart. And I'm not gonna... And that Phoenix offense is built for DT, so it's just like people don't... It's funny that this is a lot of people's first time
Starting point is 01:50:27 Seeing Diana talk. Yeah, so they're like she's a hater but no this is DT cool is I'm about the pastor. I'm about the pastor. I'm about the major That plum was talking about Kelsey plow. Yeah, you saw that like how's your family do shit like that? I'm making younger. I would kind of feel it. Why do we have to just be like, oh, she's so amazing. Why can't they? She's saying just like we all did. We all hit that rookie transition.
Starting point is 01:50:56 This is nothing new for Tarazi saying that. She's expressed her love for killing rookies on countless occasions and coming in and welcoming them. She was a rookie 20 years ago. But most great women's players that were great in college that translated over to the NBA
Starting point is 01:51:09 and they all became... Brea... Breonna Stewart was a star in college that translated. Even she translated. Sue Bird translated. Candice Parker translated.
Starting point is 01:51:17 Maya Moore translated. Most of the greats that came from college that translated and it didn't take them long. Maya Moore walked straight in like, what's up? But they played...
Starting point is 01:51:24 But they played different but they played. But she's fit. But yeah, but they played different. Yeah, those are physically different. Kalen, they wasn't taking 23s a game. Yeah, Steph wasn't either, but then when he did, it's like, hello, I'm here.
Starting point is 01:51:34 He's different. She's different. What I'm saying is, I gave this team 36 national televised games for a reason. Yeah. When we see them, it's going to be,
Starting point is 01:51:47 you better shoot from half court or I'm going to try to blow to, you think about touching her. I'm blowing the whistle. I'm sorry. I'm thinking about the future. I'm thinking about the ratings. The ratings don't want to see you.
Starting point is 01:51:59 Okay, well, Brady, I think she's that good, though. I don't want to see DT on the bench. Who says who? They don't want to see it. How many, how many? If they are going to go head to head, they want to see DT on the bench. Who says who? They don't want to see it. How many? If they are going to go head to head, they want to see the matchup.
Starting point is 01:52:07 Who do? People. No, they don't. No. People who are waiting for Caitlyn to come. Nobody gives a fuck. Everybody. I'm going to just be honest with you.
Starting point is 01:52:15 Her sitting on the bench. It's been 20 years, right? The needle ain't been moved. It hasn't. It hasn't been moved. It's been moving. It's been trending upward, girl. Not like this, but it's been moving.
Starting point is 01:52:23 She not caring if it's moving, though. Asia and Ole Miss but it's been moving. She's not carrying it moving, though. Asia and Ole Miss carrying it moving. She did her part. She did her part. I'm sorry. Now it's time to move on. She did do some needle moving. She is a legend.
Starting point is 01:52:32 I ain't going to disrespect her. She did some needle moving. Do you feel like Kaylin is moving? Kaylin is moving it in a way that we haven't seen before. If they match her right now today, Kaylin will take her lunch today. I think so. Nah. I think she's... Lexi, I was will take her lunch today. I think so. Nah. I think she's...
Starting point is 01:52:45 Lexi, I was going to ask you that. Do you think Caitlyn Clark has the most hype of any rookie coming into the NBA? Oh, absolutely. Because... Yeah, but that's what... This is your one chance. What I'm saying is this is your one chance. But again, it's not, and I said this last week. It's not because the stars haven't been there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:01 They just didn't have the machine behind them. So, that's what I'm saying. So, if you want the machine behind them. So, that's what I'm saying. So, if you want the... Who plays like her, though? What I'm saying is you... Diana? I didn't play like that at UConn. She didn't play like that.
Starting point is 01:53:11 No, no. She didn't play like that. In the dub, she did. I'm talking about in college. Who plays the style that how Katie plays? What is her style? Just threes?
Starting point is 01:53:19 Wow. It's not just threes, though. What is her style? She pick and roll. She makes threes. She makes tough shots. She's a great passer. She finishes at all levels.
Starting point is 01:53:27 So you don't think anybody in the league can shoot threes? No, it don't matter. That's the thing. You guys are talking about... You don't have no eyes on you, right? Right. Here comes the person with the eyes. Yeah, I'm telling you what I'm seeing.
Starting point is 01:53:37 What happens if you kill the person with the eyes? That's what I'm saying. Where do you go? I'm not a casual. I'll actually watch y'all play. I'll watch y'all play. As well as possible, but I'm saying... I don't see nobody play like her.
Starting point is 01:53:44 She not on my team, so I really don't got to worry about that. That's Indiana's problem. Right, right. Because they got stars of their own over there. They got the number three leading scorer in basketball history on that team as well. But who plays like the style? Who plays like Caitlyn's, what I'm saying, from a female? Who do you think plays like her?
Starting point is 01:54:00 I haven't seen a female play like her. No, me either. That's all I'm saying. But I think it's like from a freedom standpoint, too. I haven't seen a player with that type of green light before in college. That's fair enough. That's all I'm saying. I've never seen the style of what she plays.
Starting point is 01:54:16 I mean, I've never seen a female play like that before. Like that. I've had games in college and pro, 6, 7, 8 threes made out of 12, 11, 13, not 20. Like, there's people that can shoot like that. Her percentages are pretty good, too. Yeah, they're very good for as many as how often. She's a very high-level elite player. I mean, I say all the time, I'm very excited to see how it translates into W.
Starting point is 01:54:42 And again, eyes on her means eyes on us. Yes. That's what I said. It don't matter about... It can translate or not. It's going to be manufactured. If the WNBA is not manufacturing for her to put the eyes on it, then they fail. They already are.
Starting point is 01:54:57 He went from one nationally televised game to 36. That's college. No, for the fever. No, for the fever. No, for the fever. Yeah, so that right there. But they're already starting. She's going to average 20.
Starting point is 01:55:08 I'm going to figure out how to get her that. She don't need nobody to give her. No, what I'm saying is I'm not going to. And she's the type of player, she's going to take that shit. Right. So I'm not worried about that. Like, I wish I could be a fly on the wall in fever training camp, to be completely honest with you. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:55:24 They're going to definitely try to initiate her for sure. And that's the problem. Her and Aaliyah Boston, that's a crazy pick and roll. She's never played with... No, she's had two centers. Two WNBA centers. So she knows how to play with talent.
Starting point is 01:55:40 When Kobe got drafted, hey Shaq, don't touch him. Her sophomore season, her post player led the country in scoring. What I'm saying, he's off limits. Led the country in scoring. He's off limits. You cannot rookie haze him. You cannot do nothing to him.
Starting point is 01:55:55 He is protected. 18-year-old. Shaq's like, what the hell do you mean? He touched him one time. The whole organization had a meeting with Shaq. Don't ever do it again. That's... She's definitely going to be the sweetheart.
Starting point is 01:56:10 There's a golden goose coming into the W. And if everybody wants to get their pay doubled, you have to let the goose lay the eggs. Trust me, I'm with you. You got to lay the eggs. She got the potential to do what MJ did to the league. And MJ didn't have it manufactured. He just came to the league and they ain't seen nothing like it.
Starting point is 01:56:32 And then his Nike shoe sold and it was his. No, no, 88 was. But he came to the league in 84. 88, no. His Nike shoe went number one in his 50 years. No, 88, there was a meeting on 88. They had Nike, Stern. They had a nice little meeting in 88.
Starting point is 01:56:46 As a player and knowing a lot of other W players, I hope her style of play gives more players more freedom to play how they want to play. I would like to see that. There's a lot of players in the W who are very much not... Dinosaurs. That and very shortly... Because they haven't been allowed to play.
Starting point is 01:57:04 Exactly. Okay, so I'm hoping when she come in and she started doing that shit other players and be like, oh bed, but it's always but you know, it's monkey see monkey do because if she if she does it, she does it players to do it. I don't want everybody to start. What I'm saying if she does it what ends up happening she does it and it's successful and they're winning and stuff. Right? What ends up having a she does it and it's successful and they're winning and stuff right viewers then no no no then
Starting point is 01:57:26 then you start drafting players the kind of Now you start you start getting rid of the God that the girls that like clogged the lane up the non shooters Then you start putting a bunch of shooters running through the league. They've learned how to spread the floor Asia expanded her game They shoot a shit ton of threes. so they're winning like the trends the trends Session is happening. Kaelin is coming to league at the perfect time It has to be a bit like the women's don't have villains like I like I like DT because she became a villain to Caitlin That is a big thing Now she becomes a villain she's a she's a villain now. Yeah
Starting point is 01:58:06 Girl like that's what makes men watch Villain like that stories. Yeah, like there's no story Play yeah Never can't play Phoenix Mercury put out so let's talk about it. Let's talk about a graphic of the goat versus the rook. So shortly after DT comments, I love that Caitlyn is blacked out. Do you think she's a goat though?
Starting point is 01:58:34 DT? Yeah. Because I don't. I'm going to be honest. I don't. She got the most points, but I don't think she's a goat. She up there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:58:42 But do you? I think Candice Parker, Maya Moore, Cheryl Swoops. Yeah, Cheryl Swoops up there. Be a Cheryl. Be a Cheryl. I mean, you got pioneers, you got ghosts.
Starting point is 01:58:56 Yeah, yeah. I would put Lisa Leslie in the pioneer. Pioneer. Okay. Cheryl Swoops, though, and Candice Parker, and Maya Moore is like... I mean, we don't know with Maya because she's just like... Parker and Maya Morris. Yeah, I mean, we don't know what Maya, because she just was like...
Starting point is 01:59:06 But if Maya continued to play, I think she would have... Didn't she walk in and got MVP? Like, how many MVPs she got in those little four years she played? Them little four years. She got two MVPs and, like, three championships. No, no, no. Who was the one at the beginning when it started? Who got the MVPs? Like, three straight... No, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:59:23 There's one. There's an older one. Who? Rakeem MVP? It was Candace. No, comics. Who was in front of Swoop? Cynthia Cooper. Cynthia Cooper. Super Duper Cooper. Yeah, Super Duper Cooper. Yeah, I'm saying you got Pioneers, you got Goats, you just got Crane. If they're all Swoop, Candace, Parker
Starting point is 01:59:39 and Maya Moore to me are the three Goats that I would put before DT. The problem with the dub is they've never goaded anyone. Right. She's like the first goat. Well, I said this last week, too. People did not give past WNBA players their flowers enough.
Starting point is 01:59:59 So now we're trying to give everybody their flowers all at once. All of a sudden, we need a goat. Yeah, no. That's what I said. If this is the goat, then I will run with the narrative. All of a sudden, we need a goat. Yeah, no, that's what I said. If this is the goat, then I will run with the narrative. She's the goat. She's the goat. It was voted. She got an award.
Starting point is 02:00:11 She got a plaque for it. Like, they had a goat day. Yeah, so she's the goat, and then now you have something. Like, there needs to be another super team, right? So when there's this battle, like, you already got the... I mean, I think this season is a lot of opportunity for stories, villains, heroes. Yeah, see, look, first game of the season,
Starting point is 02:00:29 when you get out there, first person that look at you, I'm going to slap the shit out of them. Boom! Lacey got suspended. Boop! Right? Good girl going bad.
Starting point is 02:00:37 Don't listen to Gil. Don't listen to Gil. Don't listen to Gil. Gil, do you want me to play or not? No, listen. Not the first game. The first game is a narrative. I think it's two females playing right now.
Starting point is 02:00:47 She's been hanging out with Gil too much. She's been fined a whole $47. Who do you think could be in that group? I think it's two potential ghosts that's playing right now that could be, when their career is over, that could be considered maybe. Asia. One of them better be Asia.
Starting point is 02:00:57 Stewie. Stewie. Oh, Stewie too. Hell yeah. And that could be a pretty good rivalry right there, the way you had like a Magic Bird. I mean, that was what it was last season for sure, but it was more team. I think they They're still in a team shit
Starting point is 02:01:14 It's people so let's how excited are you for this WNBA since I Didn't play last year. I know you guys we're going to the first game What's going on? Are they good? Mm-hmm? All We're going to the first game. Who's first game again? I'm tapping in. What's going on? Are they good? Mm-hmm. All right. We all play first game? Atlanta.
Starting point is 02:01:29 Shoot it. At home? Yeah. At home? Yeah. I don't need to get a sweep for that one. Yes, you do, Gil. No, no.
Starting point is 02:01:36 We can get the front rows. We got first games are at Long Beach State. Oh, the Pyramid? Pyramid? First five home games. I'm about to make a call. First five home games because they're doing something incredible. Hey, Corey, CJ, make sure
Starting point is 02:01:49 she's sharp now. Hey, make sure she's sharp. Is that going to make you nervous if the Gills Arena crew is course or would you like us to be ducked off a little bit? Y'all better be course five. You want the signs and everything? How do you want? You want the signs? Yeah, go Glenn Coco. Thank you. Higher or lower, Gills gets ejected from the game.
Starting point is 02:02:06 Put Lexi in. Sorry, Gil. What do you mean put Lexi in? Gil, no. As soon as he sub you out. As soon as you drink your water. She ready. Lexi Red coming to game.
Starting point is 02:02:16 For those who haven't been to a game with Gil, there's a very high probability he gets picked out. That nickname is going to be over after the show. She crazy, dude. They just got started. Oh, my God. I just saw Lexi Redd popping up in my comments. I was like, who the fuck is Lexi Redd?
Starting point is 02:02:31 First game of the season, Lexi Redd. Annoying. Y'all annoying as hell. My stick, Lexi. Post game meal at Applebee's to celebrate. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. We buying it out.
Starting point is 02:02:44 Right now, Applebee's. Underdog buyout. Hey,. We buying it out. Run out Applebee's. Underdog, buy out Applebee's. Hey, I would go to that. That is a good, that is a grand thing. Everybody in the chat, if we buy out Applebee's, will you pull up to Leslie's first opposing game party? If you run out Applebee's, I will go to the rented out Applebee's. Barbecue tenders. So let's keep this thing moving.
Starting point is 02:03:03 As everyone who follows us on the gram knows some of the girls arena Crew went to the men's final four in Phoenix this past weekend Courtesy of underdog fantasy woo woo. Well, here's a look at how the weekend unfolded Okay, the new Clark, they're gonna focus a lot on her, so I'm going with the lower there. And the bad part about this, don't know anyone else. They're gonna be like doubling a lot. I'll take it And we're all Maybe saw a no sleeping. Break your ass up.
Starting point is 02:04:07 I got to go to sleep. You know how we doing. 10,000 up in the air. Arizona, here we come. Underdog, hope we win something. I want to see a whole school, big matchup. Go to the Cinderella store. Basketball mindset, UConn. I'm going to NC State, Cinderella store.
Starting point is 02:04:25 Basketball mindset, UConn. I'm gonna go with the underdog. You know, underdog fantasy, I'm gonna go with the underdog. I'm gonna go with NC State. Yeah, I need that. What kind of food did you guys have for dinner at the scene? We're at a most part, it was like, VF James, Norton's.
Starting point is 02:04:43 Yeah, like L.A. If it was L.A., it was usually In-N-Out. In-N-Out Roscoe's. In-N-Out or Roscoe's for sure. That's my first two years. You know, it depends if it was Philly, Philly cheesesteaks or whatever, like, you know, stuff like that, so.
Starting point is 02:04:57 Where did y'all cater on the plane? What kind of food? It was bullshit. Where y'all go? I never ate food from the company. I never ate food from the food stand. Oh, y'all never had like outside coming like Morton's or any of that? No, I used to order my own shit.
Starting point is 02:05:12 I sent the ball boy or whatever to the nicest restaurant in. Oh yeah, we had uh... Most teams did. Stan Crunk achieved his shit. Did y'all have a club inside your arena? Did you ever go to it? I never even know shit. Did y'all have a club inside your arena? Yeah. Did you ever go to it? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:05:26 I didn't even know shit was like that. When I got to Orlando after every game, them motherfuckers go to the club upstairs. You ever partied in an arena? No. No, we just did. So we didn't have that. Oh, y'all had a club in your arena?
Starting point is 02:05:40 You didn't even know about it, though. Yeah, we probably did, but probably didn't even know about it. When I went to Orlando, I never gave? Yeah, right here, but I didn't even know about it when I went to Orlando I never gave a minute going right to the club upstairs loaded I never went I wasn't happy. I wasn't happy anyway. I wasn't happy when I was in Orlando either We had one player Danny for a sin because he was afraid one because he always got happy book But he'll be under the table with a little blanket over and then the stewardess aren't just rubbing his back the whole time
Starting point is 02:06:12 Then you had Troy Murphy, right? So you got him doing that and Troy Murphy for some reason had to go in the cockpit He wanted to see to make sure they were doing everything right. He wanted to take control. He wanted to see the fall. So before we take off, he's just sitting there to make sure everything's right. Listen to them, everything cool, everything. And then when we land, he's right back up there like, Oh, these two are doing ass backwards, y'all. Everybody else, we're like, whoo!
Starting point is 02:06:41 I mean, because the thing about it is like, we can't cancel our flight. We flying through it. We're flying through turbulence and everything. So some of the times it's like, yo, all right. Yo, like, it's like, yo, all right, all right. Like, yo, it's nice knowing everybody. Nice knowing everybody. It was a good season, y'all.
Starting point is 02:06:58 We got some good boys, man. If I was gonna pass, I was gonna pass with a group like y'all. God, stop it. If I was gonna pass I was gonna pass with a blue blank y'all Oh, it's cold in Arizona, oh yeah, you ain't talking about that Bear Down shit no more though. I got the ass kicked. Alright, y'all ready? Here we, hey, hey. Y'all just trying to make everybody's job easier. Get it, get it. Get it, get it.
Starting point is 02:07:50 That's a lot of excitement. Another Amber wants to come on a little bit here. Oh, what's up? He's making it look like he's ready. Ooh. The winner, or so, is the winner of the World Championship, the New England Champion! Come here! I'm just trying to make you feel like I'm
Starting point is 02:08:11 the champion! I swear this is crazy! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion! The New England World Champion!. DJ Burns had a good run.
Starting point is 02:08:50 Now it's time for them to go get that football contract. Your team out too? Hell no, I'm not good, but I'm not bad. It's Eagle Tiger, then me, then Phil. They're calling you B.J. Woods, baby. B.J. Woods in the hood. Let's go. Got the ball, man.
Starting point is 02:09:20 Keep your head on the ball. Keep your head on the ball, man. Can't be up here just hand-cleaning niggas. Come on, BJ. Three and a half feet. Maybe even four. That's a nice hit. That's a nice swing. Where it go? I like that, I like that.
Starting point is 02:09:56 Where the balls at? He know what to do man. He know what to do, man. You know what to do, man. That's the first one is straight, okay. Hold 12 feet. 12 feet. All right. Here we go. Woo! Two sacks here. 12 feet. Last one. I'm about to go with the moon. This is where it gets dark.
Starting point is 02:10:30 I'm on my way out. Woo! Hit that motherfucker to the... I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Tiger woo! Woo-wee! Woo-wee! Let's go!
Starting point is 02:11:07 First one to four had a blast. We got to see some great games, championship games was awesome. Yesterday we got to see NC State, Purdue play, UConn. It was crazy. Man, the atmosphere, all the love we've been getting all weekend, the Gills Arena, just the crew, just the house, everything. We've just been going crazy. It's been lit all weekend, everything. We've just been going crazy. It's been lit all weekend in Arizona.
Starting point is 02:11:47 We took over. Yesterday. Appreciate you to the Underdog Fantasy crew. Whoop, whoop for putting that together. Whoop, whoop. Y'all look like you had a little blast. Y'all had a blast. She was out there turning up in Cabo.
Starting point is 02:12:08 She was in Cabo turning up. She wasn't rolling with us. I'd rather have been in Cabo and honestly much more entertaining and exciting. But great event. What event should the Gills Arena crew hit up next, Gil? WNBA game. With the after party at Applebee's.
Starting point is 02:12:29 Drinks ready on the... After party at Applebee's. Put me on the floor. You can't take me nowhere. Gil will get ejected from that game. You can't take me nowhere, Lex. I also have some breaking news. Underdog Fantasy has agreed to let us go to a finals game
Starting point is 02:12:46 to see Lakers versus Celtics this season. No word if it's going to be in Staples or Boston. Definitely not in Staples. Wait, wait, wait. It's not going to be. Wait, hold on. Just a finals game, period? For Lakers-Celtics?
Starting point is 02:13:00 So it has to be Lakers-Celtics. No, no, no. They're going to give us a Lakers game. I mean, we're just going to get a Finals game. They got to send you to a Bucs game. Finals game. And put you right across from Doc Rivers. Put me right behind him.
Starting point is 02:13:13 No, across from him. He's got to be able to see you. I got to tell him, hey, hey, what's up, what's up, what's up? Look at the time. Time and possession, dog. Stop doing the pick and roll, dog. He will get escorted out the building. If you started coaching from behind, dawg,
Starting point is 02:13:28 and wheeled him to greatness, Bucs fans would be torn. But let's keep it moving. We do have a special event coming up, Gil. Our first ever Gil's Arena Live, the El Rey Theater in Hollywood, April 14th, 6 p.m. This Sunday, come celebrate the final day of the NBA regular season. We will look back on the season that was. Starting point is 02:14:34 from Lexi. She's going to make 100 friendship bracelets. Absolutely not. Maybe like 10. No, we said the first 100. You're not listening? I can't make 100. I don't even have enough beads for that. Then stop throwing out friendship bracelets if you can't make enough for everybody. They're special. You're not listening? I can't make a hundred. I don't even have enough beads for that. Then stop throwing out friendship bracelets if you can't make enough for everybody.
Starting point is 02:14:47 They're rare. Ten. Okay. For friends. Rare ten. For twelve. You got to make twelve then because that's VIP.
Starting point is 02:14:57 Okay. We have a VIP section for twelve people. All right. Just for age of twelve? Just toss it for age of twelve. Lexi Red will be in the building. Or just make your Lexi Red section inside the venue so she knows her support group. We need a Lexi Red in the Canyon Budden.

Starting point is 02:15:41 So get your mind and your bread right as we head into this NBA postseason. So, first question. What name is that? I can't pronounce that. I can't pronounce it. Mujong 2005. They need
Starting point is 02:16:00 to start enunciating and pronunciating their names when they send me the chat, but the question is who is the best NBA team that didn't win a championship, and who was the worst NBA team that did? Best NBA team that didn't win a championship, worst NBA team that did? For me, it'd be the 2004 Lakers. Or the best team that didn't win a championship?
Starting point is 02:16:23 From my memory. Okay. Going back from, you know. The worst team that won an NBA championship. Bubba Lakers. Maybe that Toronto team. With Kawhi on it? That one? That hurt Kawhi team. Yeah, that hurt Kawhi.
Starting point is 02:16:51 The OKD. That half a thigh Kawhi and still pulled it off because, yeah. Yeah. The half-thigh Kawhi. The half-thigh Kawhi. The half-thigh Kawhi. The worst. No, did he?
Starting point is 02:17:03 The best team that didn't win. Oh, that OKC team. I was going to say the same thing. With KD, Russ, and Harden. Was the best team that didn't win a team? The best team that didn't win. The team that we beat. Is there another team that we're maybe not thinking about
Starting point is 02:17:19 that maybe went 73-9 and completely smacked? Golden State. Went up 3-1. No, I'm still rocking with KD. Okay, just making sure. I'm still. Golden State. Went up 3-1. Nah, I'm still rocking with KD. Okay, just making sure. Nah, I'm still rocking with them, blowing the 3-1. But that's a good one. 73-9.
Starting point is 02:17:32 And didn't win it. And they lied. Shout out Cuffs to Legend. I mean, shit, or you could talk about the KD team that went against. The OKC team that... Nah, the Warriors team that went up against The Cats Toronto oh yes
Starting point is 02:17:51 They got hurt though I know but that's what I'm saying But that team itself Yeah That would have been a three-peat Yeah That would have been a three-peat right Three-peat
Starting point is 02:17:59 Yeah Shoulda coulda woulda Good question Yeah So next question Is from Underdog User. Fame, God, body, no ditty. Fully healthy, who would have had the best career? Yao, DeMarcus Cousins, Greg Oden.
Starting point is 02:18:18 Those are your three options. Who would have had the best career if they were fully healthy between Yao, DeMarcus Cousins, Greg Oden? best career if they were fully healthy between y'all demarcus cousins greg odin uh i'm gonna probably say people don't know greg oh and they don't know how good he was i don't i'm gonna say greg odin geo was like the biggest center prospect since luau cinder coming out of high school people don't know that but you go back and check all the ESPN all the more Sports Illustrated all the ABCD camp Everything about him and I actually saw him play. I played against him in high school, too He was like that. I don't know what these training Portland team don't know what they was doing making him gain 20 30 pounds whatever and when that's when he hurt his knee, but
Starting point is 02:19:00 he was like that he would have been like a... Like, you know how good Dwight was? Like, how he won three straight defensive player of the years and rebounded and stuff like that. He was like that. But probably with better, like, offensive game than Dwight. Wow. That's sad. Yeah, Gio. Shout out to Gio. Gio was like that. Well, I don't know. He came in at like... And he's in better shape than Yao. He's faster than Yao.
Starting point is 02:19:25 He's faster than DeMarcus Cousins. More athletic than both of them. Like, sit on the rim, all of that. Like, Gio was like that. Fully healthy. Earl Exeter, start with you. Yao, DeMarcus Cousins, Greg. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:19:40 None of the above? I don't remember when I was in the league. I was young. I never watched Greg on it because he was hurt, and then I don't think the injuries are what prevented... Demarcus. Demarcus from being, like, great. Like it did the other two.
Starting point is 02:19:58 Yeah. I'm going to go... It hit the Gregs tremendously. I'm going to go with Demarcus. He was a 25, 26, 27, and 10, 12 guy. We've seen what he looked like at his height. I think he had a thigh injury first, and then he had the Achilles, which then ruined him.
Starting point is 02:20:22 Y'all was good. Y'all still made the Hall of Fame. Greg Oden, I mean, I think he was, what, 30 when he came in? He came in at 30, right? Stop playing. You're younger than bro. He was one and done. Huh? He was one and done.
Starting point is 02:20:38 He was one and done what? Grad school? He went one year. Greg Oden, currently 36 years old, Gil, so that's a lot. 36? Yeah, he my age. Today?
Starting point is 02:20:48 Yeah. Oh, no. Serious? Yeah. I swear he was already, like, he had like six, seven kids when he came in.
Starting point is 02:20:59 That's how old he looked. He did look like a grown man. Yeah, he looked grown. Now, but see, I didn't really get to see him because I think he came in hurt. He did. They hurt him as soon as he got there.
Starting point is 02:21:07 See, so it's really hard. I mean... Just know he played a whole college season. Half of the season, his right hand was broken. He still shot like damn near 70% from free throw line. But he played with Conley, right? Yeah, they went to the Final Four. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 02:21:23 He was nice. No, no, he wasn't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was nice. No, no, he wasn't a champion. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He was nice, yeah. Yeah, he was nice. But, I mean, it's hard to... Because he got hurt. He got hurt coming into the NBA.
Starting point is 02:21:32 He's a big man that shot 70% with his left hand free throws because his right hand was broken in college and he still shot better than... So, Greg Orton was like that. Okay. But that's what he would know. You know, I seen him in college.
Starting point is 02:21:42 I was like, okay, he's nice. But, you know, he was hurt. He got hurt his first year. He got that micro facts. Yeah, I'm like right away. Yeah, he's That's why he's training program. Somebody's in be 18. You gotta be careful that I ruined everybody career. I had my girlfriend I was done. You don't have to listen to everybody in life people People with training programs photographers at know, high school basketball shoots. You don't have to take their advice. You can say no. I'm not rolling with that.
