Starting point is 00:02:59 wherever you get your podcasts from. Also, we've been telling you all week, big news, we're doing a Gills Arena live show in Hollywood, Sunday, April 14th at the El Rey Theater. It'll be in the evening after all the games are done. We're going to recap the NBA season, look ahead to the playing and playoffs.
Starting point is 00:03:16 We will have ticket information available soon, but make sure y'all pull up there. It's going to be a legendary night full of shenanigans and hybrids. And I have no information, no time, no address. Just pull up. El Rey Theater, pull up.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Just pull up. Artists do the same thing. El Rey Sunday. Just pull up. Drop their tour dates two days before tickets go on sale. All right. El Rey Sunday, get there early. That's all I can tell you.
Starting point is 00:03:40 And we're going to surprise you with what time we started. We're doing our best, okay? We're trying to make things happen. All right, let's get into it. Rap game has been buzzing since Kendrick verse dropped going at Drake and J. Cole. Drake addressed it during one of his concerts this past weekend and late Wednesday night, Drake dropped this post on IG with the caption, they'd rather go to war with me than admit they are their own worst enemy. Feels like a bar. What do we all make of this Drake response? I love Drake since day one, since I've been in high school. I'm not really tapped in with this rap beef stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I just genuinely enjoy his music Good job. Yeah, I just like his music and I always have so I don't got much to say We got it. We got a great guest on the couch. Mm-hmm He is in the building I don't know if Drake don't like Applebee's Drake do not go to Applebee's please Kiki Do you love me? I don't like Applebee's. Drake, do not go to Applebee's, please. Kiki, do you love me?
Starting point is 00:04:50 Huh? Are you riding? You want to go to Applebee's right beside me? No, I don't. I do not. Huh, Kiki. What? I don't even know what to do.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Yeah. We have some real... Drake is emotional. It's okay, Drake. It's war, bro. You got to step up. Don't be tweeting and shit. Getting the boof? Getting the boof.
Starting point is 00:05:19 We don't want to hear all that sentimental shit. You said it was for the dogs and it was for the cats. We don't want't hear nothing else Yeah, we know you don't participate in these beefs You'd like to stay neutral. I'm neutral There's no win here for me. Well, there's no win for other ones Great Drake is pop. His main audience is women.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Damn. So how you gonna be the dude who, Lexi said it, I'm not paying attention to the beef. None of his women audience is- He had a lot of men at his concerts. Yeah, but I'm just saying majority of his fan base is women, right? So this rap beef is not going to go anywhere. He's not going to lose no ticket sales. You're not going to get his fans' base. It's for a hardcore rap, which he's not.
Starting point is 00:06:18 He's not a hardcore rapper. He's not a hardcore rapper, so no matter what you do to him, there's nothing that's going to faze him. Yes, it's for the masculine. Yeah, it's for the masculine. Yes for the masculine so Jay Cole's a hardcore rapper Kendrick Lamar is a hardcore rapper to you. We can sit he would be considered
Starting point is 00:06:36 Technically hardcore or real rap. I don't Mean as I'm saying it's who knows I mean, yeah. What does hardcore rap mean? I don't know what it means anymore. What is hardcore rap? It means not singing on your tracks. Yeah. Can't sing? It means...
Starting point is 00:06:52 21 Savage be singing. It means stop with the feminine shit, with your nails and your barrettes and your hair and shit. Damn. Yep. It's going down. Sold out 100,000. 200,000.
Starting point is 00:07:03 So he can't just... There's a lot of feminine shit going on. They're going to buy tickets to some feminine shit. So, Lexi, important question for you. You say you've been a Drake fan for a long time. Hypothetically, Drake asked to take you on a date, but it's at Applebee's. Are you doing it?
Starting point is 00:07:17 I do not want to date Drake, so... I'm just saying, so no matter what. Uh-uh. What if he just said dinner at Applebee's on me? Kiki. You know what I'm rolling? Cheesecake Factory? I don't want to if you just said dinner and Applebee's on me? Kiki. You're not rolling? Cheesecake Factory? I don't want to go anywhere with Drake.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Okay, that's fair. I want him to pull up to a game, though. That's fair. That'll be good enough for me. But I do not want to go anywhere with Drake. He shows up after the game with Applebee's. Are you taking a plate? No.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Nope. No thanks. Well, at least you're standing firm on it. But I still love Drake. Love you, Drake. All right, let's keep it moving. Today is the 25th anniversary of one of the most memorable moments in basketball history. We have the video.
Starting point is 00:07:52 As you may recall, Shaq caught Chris Dudley slipping. Push. Push him to the ground. Hit him with a... Good. Good. Good. 25 years ago? 25 years. for throwing the ball. Oh.
Starting point is 00:08:07 25 years ago? 25 years. Today. This very day. Back in the form day. Oh. Oh. Why you ain't help me, Larry?
Starting point is 00:08:20 Throwing another ball is hilarious. Sad day in Knicks history. Great day in Lakers lore. So, folks at Ball this life want to know is this the most disrespectful play in NBA history? Maybe look good Rashad The AI step over up there to tie I stepping over tie lose up there Hey, I drop in Antonio Daniels two times, making him do the Macarena. Mm.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Hey, Macarena. Mm. Two drops, bop, bop. I got to say DeAndre Jordan over Brandon Knight. With the stank face? Yeah. Oh, yeah, that was a bad one. That was crucial.
Starting point is 00:09:01 That ended his career low key. Dead body. Mm-hmm. Mm. Mm. Sorry, Steph. Crucial that ended his career low-key dead body Mm-hmm He was rough it was rough after that after you hit that flow look you can beat a man You can't beat that flow Hi, yeah, bye. Yeah So what's the most disrespectful thing somebody did to you during the game at any point in your basketball career? We don't have a therapy session.
Starting point is 00:09:27 No disrespect? Mm-mm. Not during a game. I mean, I guess this doesn't really count. When I was at a basketball camp once when I was younger, this boy, like, pantsed me in front of the whole camp. That is disrespectful. That was pretty mortifying.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Less disrespectful, but kind of just like, I was like 10. Did you beat him up? No, I cried. Rashad, what's the most disrespectful thing somebody did to you during the day? Oh, this is shit. I got a block ball core on a fast break. And he gave me the Mutombo finger. Oh, the wag.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Yeah, it was pretty embarrassing. Gil Bunny, what's the most disrespectful thing somebody ever did was slap the floor and get into a defensive stance? You know how disrespectful that attempt is? They done scored a basket. Now they think because they scored a basket, they all of a sudden just inherited defense.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Just, oh, ha! All right. Why is it whenever players or teams did that, they almost always automatically ended up getting cooked right there? That's why I don't do that shit. Whenever they do the slap in the floor, like, now we're going to take this defense. See why people don't do that no more.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Hit it with a cross. Immediately. We got two gills. We got two gills. Two gills in the building. This is the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen in my life. You got me on there? No.
Starting point is 00:11:06 No. You hate me, Rishon? The boy has no name. I couldn't find a picture that I wanted to put on you on here. What is going on? I might. On that art. No, I don't want to be on there, but...
Starting point is 00:11:19 Let's keep it moving. I can't do this. I can't. A lot of basketball around the association last night. I got to talk about one of the more questionable moments of the evening. So after a questionable play on Patty Mills Tuesday against the Heat, Draymond was back to being Draymond Wednesday against the Magic. So Dray was ejected less than four minutes into the game after arguing a foul call.
Starting point is 00:11:46 So this was a call Wiggins-Drake I called, I think, on a previous play. Really should have been a foul instead. Took exception to it. So after getting hit with the initial tech for arguing with official Ray Acosta, stepping on his foot, Green continued barking. Stayed in his face. He eventually called Acosta a, quote, pussy-ass N-word. Coming.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Called him a pussy-ass N-word, quote. Made his way back to the Warriors bench. Promptly booted from the game. Again, less than four minutes. Steph was visibly shaken some people in the Warriors community said that he had some tears in his eyes not really sure hard to tell from this angle but very emotional in the moment from high-grade light-skinned Adreay oh he did you think he did he's breathing look at him he's trying to hold back oh shit okay he was just
Starting point is 00:12:42 emotional you wiped his face a few times right here there's a tear right there. Them tears. Dre's 19th career regular season ejection. Fourth this season. He's only six away from Tyra Rasheed Wallace, but it didn't matter. Steph came through, showed the magic. He ain't no trick. In this game, ceiling three, they hit him with the night-night celebration. They're back. After the game, Steph walking to the tunnel. Super excited. Draymond was there waiting for him. You see Drake coming up in the black shirt, hitting him with the night-night, giving him the hug. Diabolical, bro.
Starting point is 00:13:23 That is a diabolical man. So what do we make of this situation? Hey, man. Steph just, he's trying to get it out. When I get mad and frustrated, sometimes I just cry. So I understand him. He's not necessarily sad about nothing. It's just like you just got to let that out.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I feel more anger-driven. Again, four minutes into the game. He's over it. Repeating issue. He's definitely over it. This season. Get the fuck out of there, man. Everybody,
Starting point is 00:13:53 get the fuck out of there. As long as he there, some bullshit going down. Man, I feel bad for Jordan Poole. That's all I'm going to say. Fucked up that man whole career.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Poole getting it back though. He's been playing well. Yeah, I think the same. But he is in Washington, so. But we'll get it back, though. He's been playing well. Yeah, it ain't the same. But he is in Washington, so. At least Steph has somebody to depend on, take the pressure off of him. He ain't got nobody now. What do you make of the situation with Draymond?
Starting point is 00:14:17 It's keep happening. I mean, I don't like the technicals because it's not like he was affected himself. He's arguing for someone else like he dipped his shoulder. So the fact that him and the ref is this close, which means they're having a conversation between each other. The fact that the ref, no matter what he said, no one else can hear. So he's not showing you up and you give him a technical for that. That's some whole shit as a referee right this is not like I'm yelling across and the
Starting point is 00:14:50 world can hear it it's between me and you which usually shows that I'm not trying to show you up I'm trying to have a conversation with you and then the second technical also right he's he's walking away no matter what says, he's still walking away. Yeah. So now it's just your fucking ego who's, right, and that's that's the problem with it. You let him say whatever he wants right in front of you, and then
Starting point is 00:15:15 he walks away with the what was it? Pussy ass n-word. Yeah. Our expert lip readers here at Under Dog Fantasy. And Dre acknowledged it today on his show. He said that he probably should have turned his head and not said it in the ref's direction. And that was kind of the last straw to... It doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:15:33 But that's what we got to use a lip reader to hear what he said because it wasn't loud enough for us to really hear it. So, therefore, what are you giving it? You wanted to kick him out. And then, you know, with Steph, you know, I think he's more just frustrated that it's four minutes in a game. And you're so important to us succeeding that this could be a loss when we need these wins. Yeah. I mean, they're fighting for their lives right now, holding down the 10th seed, got the rocket surging. I mean, they did go on to win this game, so I think it wasn't all for nothing.
Starting point is 00:16:06 But this is Dre's fourth ejection this season. Rasheed Wallace currently holds the record with 25 career regular season ejections. Draymond inching closer. We had Sheet on the show. He said he was looking forward to see Draymond break that record. How many does he have? He has 19 regular season ejections. That was his 19th in his career.
Starting point is 00:16:23 I think career high four this season. Rashad, you got to hold him accountable, man. Stop letting this man off the hook, man. It's easy to just shut the fuck up and play the ball. You know what the refs do. You've been knowing your whole career. It ain't going to be even. It ain't going to be fair sometimes. Shit, fuck it. But the fact that when he came back from his suspension,
Starting point is 00:16:43 he said he's not going to change. He hasn't changed. And Steph is tired of that because you should change because we need you. Yeah. And that's the point. I mean, he's so instrumental to this team, the heart and soul. But you got to take the good with the bad with Draymond. Like, I think we've talked about it for years.
Starting point is 00:16:58 It's been going on for years. But is Draymond his own worst enemy? And how complicit have the Warriors been in allowing this behavior to continue? Yeah, I mean we said it when he got suspended earlier this season There's not really much that they can do at this point. They've allowed this behavior to go on for so long and Again, like I just don't know what his endgame is like is he trying to piss everybody off? Is he trying to upset Steph? Is he trying to upset the organization? Is he just, like, an agent for chaos?
Starting point is 00:17:29 Like, it's just odd at this point because now we've never seen Steph react to anything in that way. And I don't think anybody really enjoys. I mean, people get their jokes off, whatever. But I don't, as a basketball community, I don't think anybody enjoyed seeing Steph stressed out like that over someone else's behavior. It's definitely one of those things where you look at it visibly, Steph is saying what everybody's been trying to say to themselves. Like, damn, Dre, you still on this shit? God damn, man, we just trying to hoop. Like, we get it. You trying to be this voice for us with the refs. But shit, to get ejected when we need you most. Like, come on, bro.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Time's up with this shit, bro. It's like that one kid that just keep crying. Crying wolf. You know what I'm saying? How long you going to cry wolf before we look at you and be like, bro, it's your fault. You keep doing this. I mean, Steph and everybody else ain't really saying nothing. Even him crying. It's like, what you going to say?
Starting point is 00:18:29 Steve Kerr in the interview, he said he deserved it or whatever, but it's like, yo, is that enough? Is that all you're going to say is he deserved it because you're not speaking directly to him? But did he deserve it? Probably not. Did he deserve to get ejected, would you say, for that situation? I think the first tech, at least what the video showed, is that he stepped on the ref's
Starting point is 00:18:51 foot and may have bumped him. Oh, wow. I don't give a shit. I'm just a host. Oh, my God. Or the step that... But you know refs are sensitive. He stepped on the ref's...
Starting point is 00:18:59 Is that what he gave him a tech for? Did the ref say, yeah, I gave him a tech because he stepped on my foot? What was the actual tech? See, this is my, that's what I say. That's why I always say they remind me of cops. You put me over for a seatbelt and then you're giving me a ticket for... Something else.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Resistant arrest. Yeah. Nah, bitch, give me my seatbelt ticket. That's what you put me over for. Don't try to make it something else. What was the technical for? Was it stepping on his foot? Was it bumping him? What is the actual tech for? When are we going to, like we're watching refs in real time
Starting point is 00:19:31 fuck games up, give people texts for no reason at all. You already know Draymond is the emotional dude on the team. So, any ref that's reffing him can give him a tech and get him out of the game. And we're going to sit there and keep saying, well, Draymond won't shut the fuck up. Draymond won't shut the fuck up. That's his personality. So the fact that I
Starting point is 00:19:56 know his personality, I can target him every game. Exactly. That's the point. Because we know if we give you a bad call, we know you're going to go off and we can take you out the game because you don't know how to control your emotions So whose fault is that? So you think refs are like ganging up on- No, but it's no different than and then like we we Alright, let's let's rewind time and go back to someone who was just like this Rasheed Wallace, right? He won a lawsuit because of this.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Where regular conversation became technical, technical, get him out. He won a lawsuit. In real time, we blamed him. Yep. Time passed off. He realized, oh, they was cheating and fucking him over. He got his money back. Right?
Starting point is 00:20:48 So these are normal conversations for this type of guy. And it's easy to just give him a tech for it. You can go around giving the guy tech for anything. All of this is just bait him. Not bait him. But if you're Draymond, you know you got a target on your back. You can't stop your behavior. You can't stop your behavior. You can't stop the behavior. You can't. Especially for a foul call that wasn't even on him. He can get a technical and kicked out every game. But it's just weird that he did that because... You can give him a technical every game when he plays. But he wasn't even reacting to a play that had anything to do with him.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Exactly. So that's not weird to you? That's the problem. So he's having a regular conversation. You decide to give him a tech on what he's saying? Nah, but it ain't got nothing to do with you, so just say nothing. So why did he say anything in the first place? He's the captain. So he's having a regular conversation. You decide to give him a tech on what he's saying. Nah, but it ain't got nothing to do with you, so just say nothing. So why did he say anything in the first place?
Starting point is 00:21:29 Yo, what was it? Watch out for the shoulder. You're calling this weak one versus somebody just got hit down here. And that's what I'm saying. It's too easy. Yeah, it's like get your, what you got to say off,
Starting point is 00:21:39 and then when the ref walks away from you, just be quiet. It's like Scott Foster with Chris Paul. If Scott Foster gives Chris Paul a technical, do we really value, do we really say, oh, that was fair? Well, he got that one-on-one issue with that ref, but Draymond,
Starting point is 00:21:53 he got an issue with every single ref. We would look at that Scott Foster tech and say, that's some bullshit no matter what. Because we know now Scott and him have a problem. Right, but Draymond is... He is not the type of guy that we're going to look at like him have a problem. Right, but Draymond is... CP is not the type of guy that we're going to look at like he's the problem.
Starting point is 00:22:07 CP's never been the guy that's going to foster technical fouls from anybody outside of Scott Foster. So Draymond being a... He's got an issue with everybody. They're targeting him, but it's like he's giving them a reason. Just with she.
Starting point is 00:22:20 She was the same way. When she started talking and disagreeing with the refs, they targeted him because they knew he was going to say some shit. Well, that's what I'm saying. So if you're targeting him, then we can't say that he's... We can't put all the blame on him. No, you can't put all of it, but he got to take some of the blame. Like, this is like the one before the Patty Mills.
Starting point is 00:22:39 They could have kicked him out for that. For the Patty Mills? Yeah, they could have. Oh, yeah, you grabbed him too close and grabbed his neck, and they said, oh, God, he didn't grab his... Was he spazzing on the refs after that? No, he didn't spaz on the Patty Mills, it could have oh, yeah, you you grab him too close and grab his neck and they said oh god He didn't grab his He did let go but this one this one like you We see him you guys are having a conversation
Starting point is 00:22:55 You guys are talking whatever you're saying, whatever he's saying this in the heat of the moment because you already gave him one tech That's the problem. You gave him one tech that he probably didn't think he deserved and he's asking you why why are you blowing a whistle why are you blowing a whistle he said he was asking him when did you get like he's like when did you get like this when did you get like the point i can't talk to you yeah right so it's not uh what he's saying it's how he's saying it draymond is talking to them a certain way that they just are uncomfortable with so emotional yes okay so two Yes. Okay. So two emotional that's a thing. Two emotional people are having a conversation or whatever
Starting point is 00:23:30 but one gets to use his whistle to blow a tap. Right. Well that's it is what it is. Like that's what I'm saying. If he hits someone or something at this point it's just targeting. Right. And that's the only thing I don't like about it. So again Draymond was on his pod today. He said the following it just can't happen. I said what I said. I deserve to be kicked out at that point. Kind of wish I would have turned don't like about it. So again, Draymond was on his pod today. He said the following, it just can't happen.
Starting point is 00:23:45 I said what I said. I deserve to be kicked out at that point. Kind of wish I would have turned my body and angled it and gone to the bench. But yeah, it just can't happen. So I mean, but it seems like a lot of the same stuff. But again, we talk about the passion that Draymond has and how meaningful it's been to this Warriors dynasty. It's not like this is some new form. So at this point, it's like, do you just take it and we got to ride
Starting point is 00:24:05 with it? I think it's being highlighted now because they're struggling. They're losing. They're top four in the West. Yeah. And the same stuff. It's Draymond being Draymond. Who cares? You miss a game in the finals. Draymond being Draymond, they got to the finals, it's fine. But they're fighting for the tenth seed and now, oh, well, Draymond got to stop. But y'all wasn't saying this when they was
Starting point is 00:24:24 winning all those championships. So it's like, youaymond got to stop. But y'all wasn't saying this when they was winning all those championships. So it's like you got to see both sides. And I understand why Draymond just keeps doing what he does because no one has stopped it before. And we pointed out that the Warriors essentially had to make a choice between Draymond and Poole. They chose Draymond. I feel like that's indicative of what he brings to that franchise
Starting point is 00:24:41 because no Draymond on this squad. It feels like it's open season on Steph, Clay, the rest of them dudes. To me, the decision to keep him has nothing to do with the fact that Steph can be visibly shaken up about having his leader out of the game and keep moments of playoff runs. For me, it's looking back at, all right, this is the type of behavior that pushed this young fella out that could ultimately change the path of his career. And I'm like, if you're not going to change your behavior just because you think that this is a consistent behavior
Starting point is 00:25:15 and it should be okayed, that's the difference for me. It's like, bro, at some point we have to grow up. At some point we have to grow up and see like look this is not a good look it was a good look me coming up because i established my ways and i established a soul a soul identity in the league this is me but now it's becoming a little redundant it's like every time you become you in moments you don't need to be you you're penalized for it and it may be unfair because he just wants to be him but Steph is showing you like bro come on not right now let's get the let's get the game under control where we feel like we're in the driver's seat then you do that shit then I'm cool with it but damn that's the Steve Kerr conversation we can't keep putting the team on Steph's back like this
Starting point is 00:25:59 and expect him to take us to the promised land when like we need you we need you we never did it without you guys. So after the game, Steph had this to say about the whole situation. All I said was we need him. He knows that. We all know that. So whatever it takes to keep him on the floor, and be available, that's what's got to happen.
Starting point is 00:26:25 So it's obvious Steph still wants to save this season. He's an ultra competitor. And if the Warriors have a chance to get in the playoffs, they can definitely make some noise. Obviously he has major love for Draymond, all he's done for the Warriors dynasty. But I saw an interesting analogy that I feel like pretty much sums up this current situation.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Somebody tweeted, Steph's like the responsible nigga who put the Airbnb on his credit card. Now there's holes in the wall and shit on the counters. Very specific. But if you're stepping to Warriors, at what point is enough enough? I'm just, you know. It's been enough. Man, we don't care, man.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Shit, alright? We don't care. Every time he get fucking in trouble, man, we did like, who cares? He don't like him Every time he get fucking in trouble, man, we did, like, who cares? Like, he don't like him, I like him, she's 50-50. Okay? That's it. He not going nowhere. He not going nowhere, all right? He's here to stay.
Starting point is 00:27:16 All right, it don't matter if he chokes somebody tomorrow. We don't care, nah, okay? We don't care, all right? If they winning championships, great teammates. If he's losing, maniac. We get it. We got the two narratives.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Okay? All right? And they are always in front. They're always... Listen, listen, listen. If they go on and get into the end season, somehow get to the Western Conference final, Draymond's a guy. Absolutely. Right? If they don't make it, Draymond's a god. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Right? If they don't make it, Draymond's an enemy. It's his fault. We got it. It's his fault. Yeah. I think that he accepts that reality, though. But he embraces it.
Starting point is 00:27:54 That's the penalty of leadership. Yeah. The penalty of leadership is when you win, you get partial credit. The team gets credit, but you get credit for the lead. But then y'all lose. It's your fault. You didn't do enough. That's the penalty you gotta face when you want to be in that position.
Starting point is 00:28:10 So, Jalen Green has led the Rockets to a ten-game winning streak, including an OT win over the Thunder last night without SGA. So, Rockets are still a game behind the Dubs for the last playing spot. If the Dubs miss the postseason entirely, how will that impact the Big 3's future with the team? I don't think their future is dependent on making the playoffs or
Starting point is 00:28:35 the play-in or not. This is real basketball. The eighth seed is the original playoffs. The fact that you're in the 10th seed just lets you know how good you really are. So I don't think this determines if Houston gets it or we get it. They know that this summer is very important for them moving forward with rebuilding or trying to build a championship contender.
Starting point is 00:29:06 No matter if they get into the playoffs and go to the Western Conference Finals or miss it, they still know they have things they got to take care of. Yeah. Even from a trust standpoint, like Draymond missed 20-plus games this season. He plays those games. I think they're squaring the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:29:21 somewhere around fifth or sixth seed. So now coming into next year, like you said, go to the game, that 100 mil. See, you can't think like that. If you think like that, then that means they're going to go into the summer not doing shit. They think, well, if Draymond played every game, we'll be this, so we're fine. No, you got to go into the playoffs looking at the record and where you guys are, how you are. No, that's my point, though. So they can't look and say that, but the point is he missed 25-plus games.
Starting point is 00:29:49 That's where they could have been, but from a trust standpoint, now going into next season, what's going to stop you from missing 25 more this season? We love you. We need you on the court. But if you keep doing this shit, like— But do you think depending on where they—if they make the playoffs, how far they advance in the playoffs, if they do, will that determine the dramatic moves that they make over the summer? It shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:30:11 They do make it to the conference finals, which I don't think is going to happen. But if they do. It shouldn't. In the summertime, they might not make as crazy of moves. It's momentum. It would be momentum at that point, I think. Yeah. Or they could make pricier moves because people want to come there.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Positive momentum. Yeah. Or they can make breakthrough moves because people want to come there. Positive momentum, right? You look at it like, all right, where we are now, how we got here, and we can somehow start to go this way. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:32 I think, that's what we talk about the Kaminga shit. I'm like, Kaminga, get up out of there because it's a crumbling building. Right? So if you're going this way
Starting point is 00:30:39 while the building is starting to crack up top and you're starting to see dust coming down, you're like, all right, we need to get somebody up there to patch this shit up. So if this is patching it up, you can look in the summer and you can say,
Starting point is 00:30:51 all right, it might not be too bad. It might not be too bad over here. Maybe we can, you know, forge this thing a little bit. But if you don't go up, I think in the summertime you look to make some moves. I mean, Klay's going to be a free agent. Obviously, Steph's happiness, the most important thing in the Twilight Ears career. Still want to make those pushes. Still want to try
Starting point is 00:31:08 and be a championship level squad and get, like you pointed out, playing is now top 10. So if you finish out of even the playing, that's a whole other
Starting point is 00:31:17 level of nastiness. Yeah. But let's keep this thing moving, man. James Harden made his return to Philly for the first time since being traded to the Clippers. And Sixers fans let him have it before the game even started. So they proceeded to boo Harden for the majority of the game. Every time he touched the ball, took a shot.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Didn't face him much. Dropped 16 points, for the majority of the game. Every time he touched the ball, took a shot. Didn't face him much. Dropped 16 points, 14 dimes in the win. After the game, Harden had this to say about Sixers fans booing him and the status of his relationship with Sixers president of basketball ops, Darryl Moore. What do you think of the fan reaction and all the booing? I mean, I expected it. I really don't know what it was about, but I expected it. So it is what it is. I don't even know why they were booing though? I mean, I expected it. I really don't know what it was about, but I expected it.
Starting point is 00:32:06 So it is what it is. I don't even know why they were booing. If you ask them, I probably don't know why they were booing. Personally, I felt like I did everything I needed to do in the sense of the year prior, you know what I mean, taking myself off the max to help the team get better for this city, you know what I mean, and for myself, obviously, but to win the championship. So things didn't work out.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I wanted to get paid. They weren't talking. So, you know, it is what it is. Now you move on. Everybody's happy. Life is good. And, you know what I mean, everybody looking forward. Do you think someday that you and Daryl will patch things up?
Starting point is 00:32:42 No. No? No, no. Love the transparency. Hey, look, man. Sixers, Philly fans, notorious, you know, they famously booed Santa. So it's understandable.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Whoever's coming back through is going to get those boos. But like Harden said, considering everything he did to help the Sixers, he's saying, Sixers fans, y'all stupid. That's basically what he said. Y'all don't even know what y'all fucking booing for, is what he's saying. Y'all don't even know why y'all fucking booing for is what he's saying. Y'all don't even know
Starting point is 00:33:05 why y'all booing. Y'all just fucking booing because obviously I took away the max deal that I was going to get to help you motherfuckers win. Why are you booing? Boo that motherfucker up there.
Starting point is 00:33:17 He's the one who's getting rid of everybody. He's the one lying to everybody. I did my job to try to enhance this team. So that money Maxie is going to get, that's because I didn't sign for my
Starting point is 00:33:29 Supermax. So you sitting here booing me because this motherfucker up here is stupid makes you motherfuckers stupid. When you got James Harden on your team, do you expect to win it all? Not exactly. It has not happened to this point in his career. I'm asking.
Starting point is 00:33:45 I'm saying he hasn't really won a championship. I'm playing investigator. He hasn't won a championship yet. If he's on your team and you got him and you acquire him, you say he does everything in his power that he did for the Sixers, right? Did everything I was supposed to do. Okay. We got you.
Starting point is 00:33:58 We supposed to win a championship. Did you do your job? Wait, why you say they were supposed to win a championship? I'm asking if you- I'm talking about the were supposed to win the championship? I'm asking. I'm asking what the Sixers fans thought. Listen to what I'm saying. If you're a Sixers fan, right? Sixers fan. The winning championship?
Starting point is 00:34:11 The Sixers fans did for sure. Yeah, so this is what I'm saying, Gil. If I'm a fan. To build one. Is it to build one? When he took that match, it was to get other players to come there. He sacrificed millions of dollars. He sacrificed a million of dollars.
Starting point is 00:34:23 My initial question is, when you get James Harden on your team, are you expected to win the championship? When they got him, there was no championship. We're just getting another piece. We had him at a discount. Obviously, they were expecting a championship to be on the way. Eventually, because we get to sign someone else.
Starting point is 00:34:40 You got Harden, you got MVP, you got MVP and big. You got those two. There's that expectation to win, to win a chip. So we need another piece that we was trying to get to go to the promised land. We never got that far. That's what we're saying. We never got to the point where we got another piece. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:56 So he's basically saying, I don't know why Philly's mad at me because it's his fault we didn't take that next step. It is his fault. And do you agree or disagree with that from Harden? I just feel like, man, sometimes people just avoid the accountability. James Harden was not playing like James Harden that we thought we was going to get, if I'm a Philly fan, right? And you left without us getting to a place where we could say, man, we had a chance. But didn't he say that they were asking him to
Starting point is 00:35:26 He said this is what we want we want you 20 and 10 by you saying he was saying I'm a I'm a sis I'm a system. Yeah, not a system play. I get all that. I'm not a citizen player. I'm the system right? So that's the the heart and that I'm expecting as a fan I'm not talking about as everybody that knows that he did all the stuff that he did. He took the back seat and he did less. But as a fan... So you're explaining why they're booing.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Right. They're booing because they expected him to be him while he was here. So they're stupid. I mean, he's saying the same thing. He's stupid.
Starting point is 00:35:57 You guys told me to average 20 and 10. That's what I did. Take less money so y'all can get new pieces and get better pieces so we can win a championship in the next two, three years. So I did everything I was supposed to do.
Starting point is 00:36:12 I averaged 20 and 10. I didn't make the All-Star game. I didn't complain. He wins MVP, me helping him. You guys have extra money. I did that when I was trying to get paid and was negotiation. Me and him had a deal. He backdoored me, so fuck off.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I'm out. Can I ask you this? Is 20 and 10 a max player? If you're telling me to do 20 and 10, you're telling me. Know what I'm telling? Remember we talk about how... So you think he did that so he could be like, you're not doing enough for me to give you all this money? Yes. The owner. He told him to do that.
Starting point is 00:36:45 That's what I was about to say to you. Like, you know the owners as far as how they're thinking. If I tell you to give me 20 and 10 and you do it, but then we go on to negotiate. You ask for 30 and whatever. Your numbers don't reflect no max player, my nigga. I'm not giving you max. And that's why James Carter got that energy.
Starting point is 00:37:00 That's a problem. That's why. Yeah, I know. That's why James acted the way he acted. That's why he got that energy. But for the fairness of Daryl, it's like, you did exactly what I told you to do. I agree. But I'm not giving you anything more because you could have over-exceeded what I asked you to do.
Starting point is 00:37:15 You could have actually came in and gave me 30 and two. I hope. That's nasty. And James Harden is a smart guy, so I'm sure he's just like, I got that. I mean, we talk about the business of the game. We talk about loyalty in sports. Feels like Harden's showing some loyalty to Moore, who had had a relationship back from their Houston days. I'll take Les Brett to help you build a championship team.
Starting point is 00:37:36 That does not work out. Harden didn't have the greatest playoffs. He did play well at times. Now where's my money? If we run a sprint, right, and they say, all right, we'll do a 33, which is six of them, right? And you got to get it in under 33 seconds. And you are getting them in 29 seconds. That's over-exceeding it.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Then all of a sudden, you start doing 32, 33. I tell you to do 33 because I don't want you to make this person look bad. I'm telling you, hey, slow down a little bit. I'm still gonna pass you. I'm still gonna do this. So you decide to slow up for this person, and then they penalize you. Well, you didn't make it in time, motherfucker, so you can't
Starting point is 00:38:18 come to practice. That way, hold the fuck up. And that's what it is. You set a bear trap for him. Yep. He fell for it though You feel for that like cuz I know you there's three people competitor You not gonna do 32 cuz he telling you when you know that if you keep doing 29 ain't nobody on this team It's gonna be looking at you like no guild is the fastest motherfucker on the team You're not gonna have anybody question whether you the fastest thing on the team or not
Starting point is 00:38:44 But at this point, it's not about James Harden morals. There's three people now that came out and said the same thing about Maury. So we have to now take James Harden for his word. Because there's other
Starting point is 00:39:00 people that came out that said, wait, he did this recently. This is not passion. Recently, he just did it to Pat Bev, right? Oh, I'm not going to trade you. Boom, out of here. Chris Paul, what team you don't want to go to? I want to go to OKC. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Trade him to OKC. So obviously, this nigga's a douchebag, right? So we just got to call it a spade. This is who he is, right? So you can't boo everybody you can't boo everybody who left there because everybody who's left there he's been there since so when are you gonna when he comes out start booing him yeah that part too but remember it's a business and obviously he's bad but he's bad business yeah exactly that's the thing i'm saying as a player
Starting point is 00:39:44 cp pat bev james harden y'all went into this shit trying to trust a businessman But he's bad business. Yeah, that's the thing I'm saying. As a player, CP, Pat Bev, James Harden, y'all went into this shit trying to trust a businessman. And you found out this is business. You think Embiid needs to get out of there? I'm pretty sure right now Embiid don't trust shit going on in there. And no other free agent will be trusting that dude. Right. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:00 For sure. That is just reality. For sure. Everyone who's, whoever they go after this summer, they're going to know the dude that they're talking to is not good business. That's just going to be a fact. Fact. You're having a conversation with him, no matter what he's saying,
Starting point is 00:40:15 you're not listening to him. It's a question, as a player, how much do you care about that if you get the bread that you're looking for? Yeah, it depends as a player what your goals are. Like if I'm getting my bread, I don't give a shit what's going on. No, I'm just saying, no one's going to be sacrificing for backhand stuff. At least not anymore.
Starting point is 00:40:34 I don't want no incentive deals from Maury. I don't want none of those incentive deals. If you owe me $100, give me $100. I don't want $80 million, and if I average $20, I get another $2 million. If I play, because I don't trust your word. I I average 20 I get another 2 million if I play I'm cuz I don't trust your word I know you gonna have me bench. I know you're gonna do this. I can just expect it. That's the type of person you are But you know what you're shown
Starting point is 00:40:53 you know those type of promises that he for Pat and for CP or type of promises that you you got to look at crazy because It's not a money promise James actually has a fair look at it. Like, yo, he promised me bread on the back. Like, for Pat to think that you're not going to get traded and you're not that type of piece to like, oh, we're going to keep you because I'm saying I'm going to keep you. Like, nah, we got an opportunity to move you. I'm going to move you.
Starting point is 00:41:16 CP, I know you want to go here, but they got the best pieces that we need for this particular trade to go through. Like, I can't apologize, apologize, because it's business. But tell me that. That's what I'm saying. Yo, Pat, we're going to trade you. Yeah, what are we lying?
Starting point is 00:41:31 That's what I'm saying. What the fuck is the lie for? What, you think the dude going to smack you in your face? Keep you showing up to play hard? We're going to show up anyway. Yeah, yo, I'm thinking, hey, Pat. If you know you're going to get traded, you switch your gear a little bit. And, Pat, I'm about to trade you the know not if you know you're gonna get traded Pat I do you switch you switch a gear a little bit Pat I'm about to trade you to you know the bucks. We don't know you know, you know, but I don't know yet
Starting point is 00:41:49 But you know, it is a container because this is the pieces we trying to get That's what I'm saying when when when did when are The owners so not even the owners the general manager is not allowed to be professional, right? They telling us to be professional when they are not. Yep. And then if we do get an attitude, oh, he's bad locker room guy. Bad locker room guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:13 Bad locker room. He's toxic. Uncoachable. Ooh, he got mad at me because I told him I wasn't going to trade him, but I traded him. He told me, fuck you. He's toxic. Watch out. That's the difference between business and professionalism, right?
Starting point is 00:42:23 It doesn't mean that all business is going to have professionals in it. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's the part of business and professionalism, right? It doesn't mean that all business is gonna have professionals in it You know I'm saying like that's the part of business. You got to realize they're unprofessional motherfuckers And they're motherfuckers that conduct themselves as professionals and you got to discern that within yourself as a businessman You got to conduct yourself and say there's snakes out here and there are people who are actually Ethical I can deal with this person because they're going to be up front with me. But how do you know when they're ethical until it happens? You knew because you went and dealt with a fucking owner that you knew personally. You got to know him personally.
Starting point is 00:42:55 That's what I'm saying. I got to know him personally. But now, same thing. If I told him this was going to happen, I took the pay cut, this and this, and then I came back on vacation and the max deal wasn't there And they're like, yeah, you know, I got 60 for you Then we would have had a problem, right? All right, but he you know, a police little bit a the match is yours Go enjoy your vacation. Let me know what you want
Starting point is 00:43:17 So here 127 is yours 127 is yours do with the max as you please So i'm on vacation. I'm calling Twan. How much you need extra? You know, hey, in two years to shine you up. You know what I mean? So I'm thinking about the rest of the team. But that was the responsibility he gave me.
Starting point is 00:43:37 So he didn't tell me one thing, and I took this less money. Then he backdoored me at the end. Right, right. So as a player, is that, and we talk about this all the time, because no other industry, if your boss came to you and said, hey, take a little less bread so we can be the best company, would you do that? Is that your obligation to have to do that to make the team? What's so funny is, most people at the workplace will do it. All these people in the chat are like, ah, take my bread.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Stop. If your boss came with you and told you we need to do you know extra hours here you're gonna get fired yeah you're gonna you're gonna do whatever it takes to try to enhance your your relationship with the the boss or the vp or whatever unconsciously too you know to try to get to that next level and you know you're hoping that they stand on the same business you're standing on man right oh let me go ahead do these extra hours for you thinking that okay yeah when when upgrades come here here look at me because i did him a favor and then when upgrades come they the dude who took
Starting point is 00:44:36 off work 52 times that i had to you know i had to uh cover up for i had to cover up for he get the raise that way hold the fuck on, dawg. I got to give you a perfect example. Minnesota, when I had my microfracture surgery the second year, I chose to use the team doctor to do the surgery because of the morale and the relationship between the team.
Starting point is 00:44:59 I could have chose an outside source. Jason Kidd, we had the same agent. He came back in five months. He used a New York doctor. I went to see him. They was going to do a whole different procedure. That's him. He's going to do a whole different procedure, right?
Starting point is 00:45:12 Five months. Boom, boom, boom. I'm out nine months with this guy. Right? Nine months. Now, I went and bought a crib in Minnesota thinking they're going to pick up my options. I'm going to be here long term. Oh, because you used the doctor. Because not only did I use the doctor, but they poked to pick up my options. I'm going to be here long term. Oh, because you used the doctor. Because not only did I use the doctor,
Starting point is 00:45:26 but they poked a hole in my knee. The nine months, they made a mistake in the surgery, which no one knows, and I couldn't do because I had already committed to it. Signed a waiver. Signed a waiver, all of that. So I was sitting there like, damn, this nigga done poked a hole in my knee.
Starting point is 00:45:42 I'm supposed to do an easy procedure, be back for summer league. I'm out nine months. Micro fracture. Like, yo, what the fuck? But I'm committed to the team because I'm like, now I'm hurt and I'm doing all the behind the scenes, talking to the
Starting point is 00:45:57 sponsors, going to all the little shit, speaking with the owner, getting that relationship because I'm like, hey, bro, what I just did for you, I should at least be paid on the back more you gave Marco yards and Brian Cardinal. They got big big contract Don't do shit. Mm-hmm. At least I'm a prospect But that was the whole thing you can be a part of the organization to a certain extent in your mind Till they decide that they want to move on from you. Yeah now you're like damn. I just did all that shit I didn't even tell on y'all.
Starting point is 00:46:26 I could have did a whole investigation and got my bread back on some workers' conversations, but I went to Sacramento. Y'all didn't even put me in a position to go to a good team. You put me to the worst team in the league. Now that's why I feel the way I feel about Minnesota because they did some real dirty shit
Starting point is 00:46:41 when I was doing business. I'll just be professional. I'm going to stay with my team. I'm going to use the documents. You still got to be a professional, whether it works out for you or not, because long term, that's going to follow you. Yes. So it stinks that that happens.
Starting point is 00:46:55 It happens often with players and people in the workforce, but you got to be a good, genuine person at the end of the day. As a player, how much pressure do you feel to use the team resources? Like you get I mean it seems like 30 team is in the league. They all don't have the top team dog You know what? There's gonna be a first place and there's gonna be a 30th place. Like how do you know? But that's the problem team doctors Not now, you don't know no no no say to any team in particular back then the team doctors
Starting point is 00:47:27 is no different than dealing with the team back then it was we need to get you on the court as fast as possible so you're not having a conversation with this doctor that doctor is going to the home or the general manager is going to the medical staff
Starting point is 00:47:43 the medical staff is then telling you what's going on. Yep. Right? So you don't know what the translation really was. It could be, you know, 12 to nine, nine to 12 months, right? Tell him, right, six to eight. Yeah. Speed it up.
Starting point is 00:47:59 Speed it up. Speed it up. Yep. Right now, you're six to eight. You're like, how you feel? I'm okay. I'm all right. I'm all right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right now, you're six or eight, you're like, how you feel? Not that good. I'm all right, I'm all right. With the car. You're swollen?
Starting point is 00:48:11 Yeah, and you're hurting too. You're like, man, I ain't nowhere near. It'd be like, come back for Derrick Rose. Oh, okay, yeah, I'm here. I'm back for the MVP, Derrick Rose. Right, but the competitiveness is going to hit you. You're back knowing damn well you don't really feel right. Right?
Starting point is 00:48:28 But you're expecting them to have the best interest at their heart, but they don't. They're thinking about money, season ticket holders. They're thinking about all of that. So your name out nine to 12 weeks, that might affect, or nine to 12 months, that might affect the season ticket holders.
Starting point is 00:48:51 And that's what they're not doing. They care more about the season ticket holders than... Are teams allowed to put out different date timetables? So like if the doctor tells the team nine to 12 months, are they allowed to put out less? Who's going to correct them? I don't know. So, like, if the doctor tells the team 9 to 12 months, are they allowed to put out less?
Starting point is 00:49:08 Who's going to correct them? I don't know. Like, is that, like, written and, like, is that a rule somewhere, like in the CBA or some shit? No, who's going to correct them? That you got to report the... The accurate time period. Yeah. Is the doctor?
Starting point is 00:49:19 Who's talking to the doctor? Is the doctor going to say, oh, no, I told them 9 to 12 months? Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, is that allowed? We don't like could you got team get so say could a team get like fined for that if they do find out that you weren't dishonest about a players timetable it's a gills point like if you're a star player they're gonna try to rush you back regardless because they need the tickets but if you're not they'll prolong that shit because they want to see who's going to step up and take your place.
Starting point is 00:49:48 So then they can drop you off because you're still hurt. They can offload a contract because of injury. And so if your timetable is 8 to 12 or 8 to 10, and then they look at you and they're like, man, we see this guy, Rodney Carney and Kurt Schmeichel, whatever they are, playing well. It's like, well, I mean, tell him to just take his time. Tell him to take his time. It's going to be all right.
Starting point is 00:50:14 There's no rush. And even if they're spending money on the rehab, they'll take that hit to offload this contract and give this guy less because it makes sense for them. It's like, well, you know. Everybody lying. Yeah, everybody lying. You know, like, that was so funny. I saw it when it was, I remember Jarvis Hayes. It was Jarvis Hayes.
Starting point is 00:50:34 And I'm in there when they told 10 to 8 weeks, and them boys went out there and said six to four. And I'm sitting here like, I said, Jarvis, fuck them up. They said ten to eight weeks, dog. I said, what? I said, eight to ten weeks. I said, they said eight to ten. They did not say no
Starting point is 00:50:57 four to six. I was in there listening. Was that his knee? Yep. Ended up having a cracked kneecap. He was never the same either. They said he had? Yep. Ended up having a cracked kneecap. He was never the same either. They said he had 10 to 90s. He had a cracked kneecap. What? Yeah. There's a lot of that. There's lying. There's a lot. I don't want to just put some ice and stem on it.
Starting point is 00:51:14 There ain't nothing. I'm like, we all team like, dog, something wrong with your knee, dog. Something's really wrong with it. Go get another opinion. Go get another opinion. So he doing x-ray. He doing x-rays for a doctor. They not showing it. That's bullshit.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Little tendonitis. What the fuck? So he went to another doctor. Crack kneecap. Wow. That's how they, I mean. In Minnesota, they said I had a groin injury. And it ended up being a spore hernia.
Starting point is 00:51:44 That I needed surgery for. I'm like, man, this shit really fucking hurt, man. Nah, just put some ice on it. We'll stem it. It's just groin. Ice and stem. Ice and stem. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Ice and stem. Like the trainer's ginger ale. Yes, it is. They ginger ale, for sure. Ice and stem. But that shit does not work. Put some heat on it. Hindsight?
Starting point is 00:52:03 Put the heat pad on it. He's got like a bruise or something. That shit man. I'm trying to stand all the way up. I'm trying to feel that shot Why you trying to fill it up not trying to feel that shit because you know, it's affecting it you like you see You see I Was for a little things I'm thinking like this little just get a little tingle in there Doing that would trick yourself the obvious the more painful the stem shit is, the more healing it is. Healing it faster. That stem shit. Oh, yeah, just ice and stem. I was thinking that the stem was so, like, it was going so hard that it was about to bust a vein or something. I was like, I don't know what it's going to do.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Just keep it down. Keep it down. Tell me when you don't feel it no more. Never. I'm never going to say that. So, speaking of injuries and talking about the Sixers, before the game, Woj reported that Nick Nurse said Embiid will be coming back this season, and it's not a matter of if but when. So ideally the reigning MVP will be able to play in a few of the Sixers'
Starting point is 00:53:12 regular season games to gear up for a postseason run. But Embiid has missed 27 straight games, hasn't played since January 30th, underwent knee surgery on February 6th. So Gil, you said that Embiid should park it for the rest of the season, but do you respect Embiid as a competitor for trying to come back to help the Sixers make a playoff run?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Do I look like I work for ESPN? He not rolling with that shit. Do I look stupid? He not changing his stance on that shit. Do I look stupid? Hey, watch your stance. Shut the fuck up, Nick you and he ain't coming back Goddamn shut up the buddy office. So it's hard to come in but coming back man
Starting point is 00:53:52 That's that's that's that that's that I need to sell these season tickets for the playoffs talk Yeah Because if in be not playing they probably won't sell out. So they, oh, Embiid's going to be ready for the playoffs so everybody can buy their playoff tickets for the first round, possibly the second round. That's that talk, man. That man ain't coming back. And they're in eighth. Man. And they lost last night.
Starting point is 00:54:19 So like you're saying, if they win out, it's hopeful for them. But a game and a half from the sixth spot. Ooh, we're going to have him come back to play Boston Celtics first round. All right. His first game's in three weeks. Yeah, all right, all right. He ain't played in fucking two, three months, and he's going to play against Boston Celtics in the playoff series.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Trying to guard Jason Tatum on a switch. All right. Okay, stupid. trying to guard Jason Jason Tatum on a switch. Alright. Okay, stupid. Come on, man. Just say a little hey, fans. Look. The motherfucker ain't coming back, but we do need y'all to support the other people down here.
Starting point is 00:54:58 We got Maxie, y'all. We got Maxie. We got Harris. You know, do that. But don't give an out fake. We got Harris. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, do that. But don't give it out fake. Same shit Miami was doing. Oh, Hero coming. Ooh, Hero coming.
Starting point is 00:55:12 Hey, hey, first of all, Hero coming. They never showed up. They never showed up, dawg. Not show up. Straight up. Don't fucking say anything. Fans are funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:22 So a question for you. Now, because I agree. If the Sixers got to play the Celtics, Park it. What you wasting your time for? Let's just say the Sixers can get a six seed, and now they're looking at the Knicks or a seven seed against the Bucs. What's better than a well-marbled ribeye sizzling on the barbecue?
Starting point is 00:55:38 A well-marbled ribeye sizzling on the barbecue that was carefully selected by an Instacart shopper and delivered to your door. A well-marbled ribeye you ordered without even leaving the kiddie pool. So do they have a chance to win championships? And terms apply. Instacart. Groceries that over-deliver. So, do they have a chance to win a championship? In their mind, I'm sure they feel like they... No, of course not. Okay, so they don't have a chance. Nope. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Oh, yeah, no. With Embiid, who hasn't played in three months with a knee surgery, we know it's not 100%. Right. Right? Are we going to win a championship this year? No.
Starting point is 00:56:30 They said he's going to try and come back. They didn't say he's healthy, he's rehabbed, he's going to try You ain't going to win a championship and be with healthy.
Starting point is 00:56:37 We ain't seen the motherfucker run. You know, at least they, look at Lonzo Ball, we seen him dunking stuff, right? Hopping on and out of chairs, out on the beach,
Starting point is 00:56:46 in the little ocean, nice little view he had. We ain't even seen this, all right? We know he ain't practiced yet. We know he ain't run yet. We ain't seen him on the treadmill yet. We ain't seen him lose shots himself. So, no. He's not going to go from we haven't seen nothing
Starting point is 00:57:03 to him just popping up in the game. All right? Do you think that's a media tactic, though? To just let him pop up? Because usually, like you're saying, you roll out a little bit of footage at a time. Ramping up. Ramping up. Yeah, because it's like, okay, so you got to choose between having a competitive advantage and selling your tickets.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Right. Right, because if he pops up and he's ready. They're going to pick selling tickets. Right. You should pick selling tickets. Yeah. So if he is ready to go, they're going to show that he's... Yeah, have him in layup line. Hey, have him in layup line.
Starting point is 00:57:29 Ooh, and B's coming in. Yeah, they're not going to just drop him. They're a little bunch of... They're not just going to drop him. It's playoffs, right? So you want the other team to, what, game plan for if he's coming back. He's active for game three. No, he ain't.
Starting point is 00:57:44 He ain't getting in that motherfucker, man. Stop. And if he do, pick and roll, ISO, let's go. You guys are pointing out that when it's a knee or leg injury, they can't do the conditioning they need to do. If it's Westbrook with a fractured hand, he can still get on that treadmill. He can still have some semblance of being ready to go. He can even practice. He can even practice. But when it's a big man with a janky wheel, like eh. That's way different. And like
Starting point is 00:58:08 Gil was always saying, he had a problem with his eating. He's just eating whatever. We don't know if he's fat. Especially if you can't run. Yeah. It's not like he can't run right now. He can't go on a bike.
Starting point is 00:58:22 And I had the meniscus, so I know that that shit is different. And I didn't have the surgery. So I had to self-heal, and I know how long that took. And the fact that it's the back of the knee, and it's that pulling on the hamstring, and it's like you don't know when you might feel it again. So his anticipation
Starting point is 00:58:40 on every movement is kind of like, does it hurt to do this? Does it hurt to do that? It don't make sense for him to come back. Let's talk about one more thing from that game last night. Kelly Oubre, Sixers had a chance to win the game. We got did dirty by some questionable officiating. That's hilarious. Travel.
Starting point is 00:58:57 So Clippers were up one. Oubre thought he got fouled on that play by Kawhi. Oh, that's the play he was mad about? No, then final play of the game. Drove in. Thought he got bumped by Uli D before Kawhi blocked the shot. He's jumped up.
Starting point is 00:59:13 I thought the last one was a foul. So, Oubre, after the play, Oubre gave the refs middle fingers and then told each of them, quote, you're a bitch. You're a bitch. You're bitch your bitch your mom's a bitch your dad's a bitch Grandma was off. I don't you know, we've sent our expert gills We're in a team out to find out if this is true or now
Starting point is 00:59:42 We cannot confirm or deny of any of the refs' family members are actually indeed bitches. But after the game, official Kevin Scott did acknowledge that the refs missed the call, saying, quote, On the last play on the floor in real time, the crew interpreted that play as a defender jumping vertically. However, in post-game video review, we did observe some slight drift to his left by the defender, George, and a foul should have been ruled. So all of you guys on this couch, high-level professional hoopers with playoff hopes on the line. How frustrating is it when refs miss crucial calls like this that literally can now have ramifications down the road?
Starting point is 01:00:22 That's tough. The only people in the sports that don't have to do their job at a high level right every night. Right. They miss so many things. And when you challenge calls and they get overturned, that means you were wrong. You did something wrong, and we knew that you did something wrong, and it gets overturned. So it's like, why? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:42 At least give her 10 push-ups or a sprint when you fuck up. I'm just saying, like, you fuck, hey, go give us a sprint. Like, stop then. Like, even something like this, right? You give us a two-minute report and you get to make this. Why? What the fuck does it mean now? What do we get?
Starting point is 01:00:58 That one's just extra mad. What do we get? We know we was wrong. That's why I called you a whole bitch. That's why I did that. Right. Right? So, what do we get for you being wrong? We know we was wrong. That's why I called you a ho-ho-ho bitch. That's why I did that. Right. Right? So what did we get for you being wrong?
Starting point is 01:01:08 Because we got the loss. Man, that's crazy. We got an L. So what happens with you guys? Two free throws. Two free throws. What? Two free throws.
Starting point is 01:01:18 I wish I was by one. Do they get suspended? They lost by one. Uber would have had two free throws to potentially win the game for the Sixers. That's right. Do you get suspended for the game? Do you get fined? What happens?
Starting point is 01:01:28 We took an L. Because you didn't do your job right. Yeah, so. I think refs get graded. This can impact their playoffs and ability to officiate. But it has to be shown, though. But I'm saying we don't know to what extent. It should be public.
Starting point is 01:01:43 If it's public. But a lot of official grades. If it's public. Huh? They're great. A ref's the problem. It should be public if it's Great not huh? They're great a reference standings With their report card, yeah, no no they do. Oh they do they do they do have Basically report cards for referees. The problem is we don't get to see it. Who is we? Like, spectators? Teams, fans, no one gets to see it. No one sees it but the league. And if you did see it, trust me, if I know you're an F ref,
Starting point is 01:02:14 goddammit, there ain't nothing we need to talk about, brother, because I know you ain't going to be in the playoffs to even worry about you. Right, right. Ha ha, right? We get to do that now. Ha ha, right? But it seems like the NBA would rather hide it to keep getting fine money. To keep getting fine money because if I know you already ain't making it to the next level and this is where you are, you at the bottom, I don't need to even have a conversation with you. You are an F student.
Starting point is 01:02:43 You are an F student. You are a D student. You're not graduating, brother. Now when you make a call, I don't even need to look your way. We know you're fucking up. See, so you're not going to get my money. See, you're getting my money because I'm frustrated. Yes. Because I know you're not getting, I don't
Starting point is 01:02:57 think you're getting penalized. But you don't know his grade. Yes. We don't know his grade. I don't know your grade. You might be. We don't know your grade. You definitely are F. That's just like Tony. I'm not even waste my time Mm-hmm gives the league my money because you're not even good breath and we know that because you have a D rating Let me ask you this though. Did Nick have another? review challenge I Don't know why do you know you can they didn't they review it anyway if you're gonna come out They didn't call anything. Why didn't they review it anyway? If you're going to come out. They didn't call anything.
Starting point is 01:03:25 There's no call. I know. There's no call. But if you're going to come out and say it was a foul, it's a questionable play, why didn't y'all go to the review during the game? Because you don't review fouls. No calls. No calls. You don't review no calls.
Starting point is 01:03:39 So why would you come out and even speak on a no call? It's trying to show integrity. How can you show integrity if we're not going to do it in real time? Like, do it in real time. Let's go review it right now because it's a no call, but it's a questionable no call. No, because then you question everything that happened. No, only at the end of the game, though. Let's just say this is only at the end of the game.
Starting point is 01:04:01 In the last two minutes? Last possession, a game-dec deciding call or no call with no time Left we got to check that we got to take the replay not because that happened Let's just say all game winners the defense is gonna challenge it anyway And you just gonna look for other shit that has to do with the play away Three seconds right here Oh offensive foul right that you to be like, three seconds right here. Ooh, offensive foul right there. You're going to start looking for stuff just to do. They did it on the Steph shit, though.
Starting point is 01:04:29 They did it on the Steph shit. When the ball hit out of bounds, but it didn't hit out of bounds on him, the dude hit it out of his hand. But that was out of bounds, though. But that's a call. We're just talking about if I came down and hit a shot, and it was a game winner as a defensive, you lost it. You can be like, well, hold on, I challenge
Starting point is 01:04:45 that game winner. Hold on. The only way you can challenge that is if it's a two or a three. That could possibly change it. But they do that with the threes. Now, LeBron, obviously, with that threes, happened to Steph before. It was like several plays later, oops, no, his foot was out of bounds. We take it three points off the
Starting point is 01:05:02 board. Do that shit in the moment. Right. That got to be like an automatic trigger, you know what I'm saying? That's what I'm saying. There just has to be, there just has to be some type of, like, closure.
Starting point is 01:05:14 Yes. There has to be some type of closure that goes on. Like, refs just get to float around and be... Like, we know you're not perfect. We know you're not perfect. Right, we get it. You're going to gonna miss calls but some of those calls you miss you need to be accountable for because we are accountable live yeah like when he gets fined it's gonna be public yeah yeah or just keep the
Starting point is 01:05:38 fines private yeah keep the yeah keep everything private well this is like the cops like you said the cops will tell you that they're 98%, right? And when we do the referee meetings before the season, they come and they show us what they're going to focus on, calls on, going to be this year. They're like, all right, we're going to focus more on hand checking, da-da-da-da-da. Then they'll say, we'll let you guys know,
Starting point is 01:05:58 we're 98% right most of the time. Do you know how egotistical that is for a referee to say 98% of the time we're right? When we see on a nightly basis, y'all miss calls and fuck calls up on a nightly basis. Yeah, it ain't more like 70-30. Yeah, you can't say that because there are things that they let slide because of the game flow.
Starting point is 01:06:18 Because if they do call everything, it's going to make the game seem like stop, go, stop, go, stop, go. So they can't even say we're 98% right because you guys let things slide just for the fact of keeping the game seem like stop, go, stop, go, stop, go. So they can't even say we're 98% right because you guys let things slide just for the fact of keeping the game watchable. As players, do you appreciate that or do you want them to be by the book? I mean, the game has to be...
Starting point is 01:06:36 It's hard. It has to be reffed in the sense where the game flow goes. But what I'm saying, my thought is always going to be either make it fair on both sides. You're going to publicly crucify all of us or you're going to protect all of us. Right. Right?
Starting point is 01:06:55 He just admitted that he was wrong, which means Oubre's response is actually justified then. So you can't fine him when he was right. Yep. You can't penalize the man if he's right. You think they should just... I don't give a fuck what he's saying.
Starting point is 01:07:13 ...become fines? Huh? If they do react to a bad call and they come out and are like, we were wrong, should they just not fine Kelly Oubre? You can't fine him. He's right. It's just like, it's an overturn. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:24 I threw my card. You gave me back. Just like, This is just like it's an overturn. I threw my card. You gave me back Just like you know like a challenge Yeah, if I challenge it and I want it I get my challenge back same thing here you was getting ready to find me They auto corrected it and said I was right. So what I said has no he shouldn't get mine. I didn't get fine for it Well, he's gonna get a lot of I feel like each one of them bitches is coming with oh, no Yeah, find me one time They all bitches together And they all look at me like you're right you're right you're right you you
Starting point is 01:07:55 But you think about like when you go whatever gave a ticket anyway But they knew in the moment they was wrong right right? They can't give them a take. But think about when you go out there and you're in the captain's circle and you ask the referees, like, what kind of game are we going to play tonight? Is it going to be a tight game? We never asked that before. You haven't? I have.
Starting point is 01:08:17 I'm like, what kind of game are we playing tonight, man? Because, you know, you know how y'all be. Are y'all going to let us play? Are y'all going to let us play? After, like, the first two minutes of the game, you're like, oh, that's how we play tonight? That's how we're playing tonight. So you get the mood of the game in the first five minutes of the game. Like, all right, this is how they reffing tonight.
Starting point is 01:08:34 They letting us play. You go to the huddle. You be like, hey, guys, attack. Attack. Or, hey, look, they calling everything, bro. Like, hey, get your hands off. Hey, if you want to preserve your fouls tonight, they calling everything, bro. Like, hey, get your hands off. Hey, you want to preserve your fouls tonight? They calling everything.
Starting point is 01:08:47 So it's, like you said, it's moody sometimes for the rest. And then on Gil's part, it's like, well, how do you dictate whether or not you're going to go out here and call the game fair if y'all playing on emotions? Y'all out here, you know, in the mid-game, y'all done changed the whole thing up. But, you know, in the mid-game, y'all done changed the whole thing up. But, you know, that's where the elite has the advantage because they're dissecting you as a player and the refs at the same time. So I know, all right, when I'm playing this game, let's say Benny don't like you.
Starting point is 01:09:26 Right. Right? So if I know you and Benny got a personal problem going on, I'm going to be playing to that. Right. Hey, Benny, he holding, dog. Yeah. Why he keep holding? Every time with me, if I'm barring you near Benny.
Starting point is 01:09:37 Yeah, he's trying to make it. Yeah, Benny, I want Benny. Benny! The ref's name on the tape, you're like, oh, we got that one. Oh, he hate her. He hate him. He love me, oh, we got that one. Oh, he hate her. He hate him. He love me. Like, they're always telling.
Starting point is 01:09:48 They're supposed to be impartial and unbiased. They are. Absolutely not. Like, some call the game like it's the 80s, right? Some like more, you know, someone likes scoring. Like, they all are different human beings. Yep. And that's why I said the elite actually knows.
Starting point is 01:10:04 They know who's going to, he's going to call a lot of holding. knows they know who's gonna. He's gonna call a lot of holding He's in a car travel. He's gonna. Let us play right so depending on who's in my zone I know who's like violent get tell him get his hands off me Like Aggressive all night now you I'm about to go through the line. Hey, you're going to be aggressive all night now. You're like, I'm about to be aggressive. I'm like, he's good. Tell him you said hi.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Tell your daddy I said hi. Give me some free throws, please. Thank you. For sure. Oh, my God. You know you had the cool ref, though. He was always going to look out. Giving you warnings.
Starting point is 01:10:42 Kenny, Kenny was my man. I knew Kenny was going to give me some calls. Yes, sir. Shit. You can tell. Even the way they address certain players, like even in passing, like a dead ball situation, you can tell like, oh, this ref hates me or her or him.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Or he really loved me. And he really like, sometimes they'll address you by your number, first name, last name. It's like, it's a lot of... Certain guys you couldn't touch, like, Colb couldn't touch, couldn't touch Colb, couldn't touch this nigga over here, couldn't touch the nobly motherfuckers
Starting point is 01:11:15 that was just flopping and shit. A.I. would proffer. Oh, my God. If A.I. was playing and Joey Crawford was... Bruh. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. Coach, bro, yeah, you got Gil. I'm like, no, I mean, you got AI. No, the fuck I
Starting point is 01:11:27 don't. You're trying to win. You're trying to win. Joey out here, man. You already know his nephew here. Look, big-headed kid right there. That's his nephew, right? That's his nephew right here. The one with the big head. You already know he came to see AI. He got the AI jersey, autograph,
Starting point is 01:11:44 and the headband, and the wigger. The wigger. That's Joey's nephew right there. Hey, I got 60 tonight. I want Snow Parsons. The wigger kid right there. That's Joey Crawford. But that's how you play to the ref.
Starting point is 01:11:59 That's how you navigate. You got to pay attention. Some of these players, y'all need to understand what the ref's tendencies are, too. Just like we have tendencies, yeah, and I think every and there's still real people at the end of the day and all of these young guys are not understanding that relationship dynamic because they're clashing with the guys and it's like Draymond should give more of an example of that because he Would get more favoritism if he talked to them a certain way. And I think he does get favoritism to a lot of different refs. The older ones.
Starting point is 01:12:27 The older ones. The younger ones. The younger ones can't stand. Right, they can't stand. If I'm a ref, they might break a record points. They're going to be 200 to 205. Everybody got 50. Ain't no trial.
Starting point is 01:12:43 No, that was a good move. Good move. Do it again. I'm over here crying, dog. Everybody got 50. Hmm ain't no trial. Not I was good Didn't fucking did a double step back they say you not a bounds and you want me to stop you stop it Well, he took seven seven steps. Well, you should have stopped it before you want me to do ain't nobody fuckers Look if I'm calling five Somebody sitting on the bench now. I'm just gonna a do'all. I'm calling the flopping files on everybody to do this. They'll be like, yo, you want a technical, nigga? You want a technical? You sure?
Starting point is 01:13:12 Don't you do this. Don't you put your hands all on me. Girl, they got to let you ref a summer league game. Summer league? Let Gil go out there and just get everybody. I mean, hey, ref how many steps he get. As many as he need to score that bucket. This is NBA slash and one.
Starting point is 01:13:29 Hey, that mean Giannis going to like you then, right? You're going to be Giannis' favorite guy. You're going to call no travel on Giannis. What was so funny, the move Giannis did, that wasn't even travel. Which one? The one they said he traveled? Yeah, that wasn't even travel. He did.
Starting point is 01:13:42 I was like, that's not travel. He freaked him a little bit. He did, because he put his bra down first. He did. I was like, that's not a travel. He freaked him a little bit. He did because he put that bitch down first. But even a seasoned ref, you don't call that because he didn't even gain an advantage. Right. He didn't gain an advantage over it, so that's where you get the gray area. Like, I'm still, a ref taught me that. He says, there's some calls I don't call because if the guy didn't get an advantage,
Starting point is 01:14:02 I'm not going to blow the whistle to stop the call. So if he's on a fast break and no one tried to run back, whatever the fuck he does, I'm not going to sit here and blow the whistle while the defense is lazy. Can you imagine them calling a travel on a fast break transition, Doug? Yeah, because... They all travel. Yes.
Starting point is 01:14:19 Like, technically by the rules. It depends on how obvious it is. But even if it is... One, two, three, four, five, six. By yourself? But think about it is... Ah, by yourself? But think about it. Six or less. Let's just say you got ripped.
Starting point is 01:14:27 Boom, right? You just got ripped at the half court, and then you stopped. And then this guy runs down, and he fumbles the ball and travels. A ref making that call while the guy didn't even get back on it. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Didn't just try to know everything. I'm not playing defense for you. Right, right. I'm not going to do that. Everybody's going to be like, that's a travel. Shut up. You're sitting there from the half court doing this. Shut up. Shut up? I'm not gonna get back on the line. That's a child
Starting point is 01:14:52 Get that shit out of the ball out lazy ass Like if you win if you win back in the household and then the dude did the steps because he's traveling Does he see he didn't footstep? I can give you that but yeah No, no, no, I've seen the video the ref that footstep. I can give you that. But, yeah, none of that. Y'all seen the video of the ref that was on the phone during the youth game? Oh, absolutely. On the baseline. On the baseline. On the phone?
Starting point is 01:15:12 On the phone, on the baseline. Yes. Oh, my God. Hey, I miss youth league refs. They was always cool. Hired. For the most part. All right, let's keep it moving, talk about these Suns.
Starting point is 01:15:23 After an embarrassing loss to the Spurs on Monday, the Suns bounced back with a win over the shorthanded Nuggets in Denver. So Nuggets didn't have Jamal Murray. Suns didn't have Nurk. Didn't matter. KD dropped 30 points, 13 rebounds to pace the Suns in the win. Booker added 17 and nine dimes. So Suns are currently the seventh seed,
Starting point is 01:15:39 but have the hardest remaining schedule in the league left with nine games. You said shorthanded Suns? I said the Nuggets were shorthanded because they didn't have Jamal Murray. And I just pointed out that the Suns also didn't have a starter in Nerg. You should have just said both teams were shorthanded. Don't try to make me... Is it Jamal Murray? Nerg says all the picks.
Starting point is 01:15:59 More valuable than Nerg. Nerg says all the picks. He's getting a lot of rebounds. He said all the picks. Yeah, he's very important. So both teams was... Is Jamal Murray more important to the Nuggets than Nurk is to the Suns?
Starting point is 01:16:12 I don't know. It seems like an easy question. It seems like an easy question, but it does. That does, but you got to... Y'all spoke about the Suns with Kenya. I think you was on here, too. Y'all was talking about the Suns. And you were talking about Nurk in the pick-and-roll right and why
Starting point is 01:16:27 I was they were struggling to Bradley at the end of games Bradley wasn't showing up yeah now who do they got on their team that can actually make them pay for that pick and roll that's not nerdy bobo bobo bobo bobo don't send no picks Bobo want to do threes Bobo weighs as much as this dog But think about it Think about what y'all talking about now They just gonna blitz whoever in that pick and roll So regardless if it's a screen or not
Starting point is 01:16:57 You got somebody to throw back to that can make a play And Nurk is not making that play So Nurk can't be too valuable If all it's depending on him to do is rebound Listen They can making that play. So Nert can't be too valuable if all we're depending on him to do is rebound. Listen, they they can if I'm them when the playoffs start
Starting point is 01:17:13 I'm trying to hold, I'm playing somebody that they not worry about and that's Bobo. I'm playing them at the three the four, I'm having lineups in. I'm just him at the three, the four. I'm having lineups in. Yep, that's it. I'm just mixing.
Starting point is 01:17:27 Especially you playing against Denver, Bobo's in the game. They never had a matchup with him, though. Every time they play against Bobo, whether he was with the Magic or any other team, he always got up. You have him, KD, Booker, Beal. And Grayson Allen.
Starting point is 01:17:43 And Grayson Allen in, or even with Nurkic in. Why the fuck you going to guard this team? Disappointment for me is Bradley Beal and Grayson Allen and Grayson Allen in or even with Nurkic in Fucking on guard this team Disappointment for me is Bradley Beal though. I just don't understand what he's doing out there He hit a couple good threes in the first quarter. You got the janky fingered on the shooting hand I'm just not making this use form, but he's been battling injuries all season. Yeah, but we're in the right figure. Where are they coming from? That's Yeah, it's like yo yo, what are you? Then I just don't see the urgency, man.
Starting point is 01:18:07 It's like, he's so good, but he's not showing it. If it's on paper, we see that. And if you hurt, be hurt. Get that taken care of. I don't even want that. Because if you hurt and you hurt and you can't play, that means we don't see you. That means why are you?
Starting point is 01:18:21 I mean, it's like, you're just the extra body that we know could do something. It's not. So even the 60% you is better than the 100% bench guy that we don't really use that much. We can still decoy you. That's what y'all was talking about the other day. Decoy you. But, like, even as a decoy.
Starting point is 01:18:37 But, yeah, you got to be a threat on the court to be a decoy. And that's what I'm saying. Like, you're not even moving like you want to be a decoy or a threat and it's like you should be doing way more than ten Seven and four even though y'all won and KD went off but ten seven what assist Yep He was a bill's three four eleven from the field three four seven from three with those So he had two of those in the first quarter It was like one for seven or something
Starting point is 01:19:06 in the whole rest of the game. But do you feel, I mean, he's battled injuries for most of the season. We really haven't seen him at 100% a lot this year. Do you feel like he's starting to feel the pressure of I just need to be out there playing for my guys? I just hope that it ain't an overrated situation for him. Where in Washington, he was playing so well
Starting point is 01:19:22 because he didn't have no pressure. When John Wall left, and Gil always attested once Once you leave and I take over is my shit now So when John Wall came back, it was like Brad ain't gonna step down from this because he's comfortable with being the guy here There ain't no pressure and you go to a team where there are two other guys You try to find out where your where your footing is and you can't because you don't get the ball every time like you was before. And that's the thing with Dame. Dame, you were in Portland.
Starting point is 01:19:50 You the guy. You ain't got to worry about passing or no motherfucking ball. You come down and get 60, 50, 40, whatever. But now it's like you getting 17 and 12 and 14. And it's like, how? What changes? Oh, team ball. Oh, you got to be a real player now.
Starting point is 01:20:04 So can you get off 25 like KD is in any situation he's been in? I'm going to beat KD and give me 30. And win games. And win games. All that. So it's like, where is that pedigree when we need it? I mean, it feels like Bill's not going to obviously average a 30 pieces like he did with the Wizards, but it should be easier for him to score with a squad with Booker and KD on the court.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Because that's the energy we gave him. That's the energy we gave him as soon as he got to this team. Everybody's suitable for those types of situations. People got to just be the guy and take all the shots, and that's cool. But you won't know until you put them in a situation where they got to play with a team of super talented players. But again, I think we can't give him a little bit of grace because of his injuries, but It's the same with the Clippers though like PG, Kawhi and James Harden
Starting point is 01:20:51 They all not gonna give us 30-30 and 30, right? We know that sometimes it's gonna be a nigga playing better than the other guy But they all gonna contribute in a way that's gonna contribute to the win Same with Russell Westbrook. He know what he need to do So it's like alright, we, we're going to win, and we know you're going to give us 10-7-4. Let that 10-7-4 be meaningful where we know that Brad's 10-7-4 actually helped us get there,
Starting point is 01:21:13 and it wasn't just a part of the team like somebody that came off the bench. That's all I'm saying. That's real talk. So back to just the Suns currently seventh in the West, have the hardest remaining schedule in the league with nine games left so they're a game and a half behind the pelicans for the fifth spot but the kings and lakers also could bump them down to ninth just depending on how the rest of
Starting point is 01:21:34 the season plays out so how will the sun's tough final stretch impact their playoff chances i said they was gonna finish six i think they're gonna finish sixth. I think they're going to finish in sixth place. You think if they finish top six, they're out of that playing territory? I think so. You know, you can only be one team in sixth. Right. It's going to be the Suns. Not the Lakers? Lakers did look good last night.
Starting point is 01:22:00 No A.D. LeBron tripled gold. Ladies, I thought you were going to be serious for a few seconds. Yeah, for real. I was serious that the Lakers gonna whoop the shit out of Memphis I knew they was going well with bronze when 80s decided to sit. I was like, oh Brian coming You don't see the pattern here, but I was told all season long rest pattern. Yeah Against the books when does that happen happened, I texted in the chat. I was like, so, Brian, I'm not going to play against the Bucs? But, Brian, I don't think he's played against the Bucs the last four times.
Starting point is 01:22:31 Damn. What was the record with that? Their legs were three and one, I believe. So, they've been playing well. They took the notes and said, look, we got a good chance to beat them without Brian. Brian, sit this one out. And we know we can beat Memphis with you playing against Memphis. AD, you sit this one out. So, who's the beat Memphis with you playing against Memphis. AD, you sit this one out.
Starting point is 01:22:45 Let's go. So who the next, what's the next three games? Oh, you got Pacers. You got Pacers. Nets, Raptors. Nets, Raptors. Wizards. Wizards.
Starting point is 01:22:52 So AD and LeBron will play the next game. Well, AD's been cooking the Pacers fucking all season, so he'll play. No, no, so they might both play against the Pacers. They both play against the Pacers. They both play Pacers. And then somebody will sit out. One is going to sit out against the Wizards. Brooklyn somebody will sit out one is gonna sit out against the with Brooklyn Brooklyn and one one is gonna sit out because that's the back-to-back right is Raptor
Starting point is 01:23:09 Wizards is the back-to-back to in a can't afford both of them to see it during this whole so if it because they did the Same shit with the Spurs. I believe early in the season was a back-to-back. It's like all right. They look they look good against The game where Austin had the triple-double. Yeah. What was that? That was the Bucs game. The Bucs game. It looked good in the Bucs game, but the Bucs gave it away.
Starting point is 01:23:32 I didn't like the way they gave that away, but the fact that they showed up to win that game and take it away from them, that was dope to see. But you got Rui, who was, you know. Man, this ain't about our Lakers, bro. This is about them Suns, man. But it's our Western Conference. Them Suns.
Starting point is 01:23:46 You brought the Lakers into this. What I'm saying, them Suns. He definitely did. Like, you brought them into this. No, what I was saying is the Suns can't be six if the Lakers are going to be six, so they're going to have to be in the play-in. Well, then, our record. We are talking about the Suns and their inability to get to the big five.
Starting point is 01:24:00 Our record is really favorable to be six, and Suns' record is favorable to be in the play-in game No, not if they went out New Orleans Dallas Phoenix Sacramento Lakers all could be six There's a miss while so you ending on how everybody wins out everybody wins out. They don't say what they at let's see Say our opponents again who the Lakers yeahakers? Yeah. You got Pacers, Nets, Raptors, Wizards. Come on. To end this four-game road trip. And the Raptors just got smitten.
Starting point is 01:24:34 Oh, yeah, man. Yeah, they're getting smitten. It also doesn't help that the Suns are playing against teams that are the same. Not even that they're better, but they're also fighting the same. The Suns got the 4-5-6. They got the Thunder. They got Yeah, they're the same. Not even that they're better, but they're also fighting. Yeah, they have the same. They got the Thunder. They got the Pelicans, the Cavs, Timberwolves, Pelicans. I'm still rolling. I might be with you, though.
Starting point is 01:24:54 Then home and away against the Clippers. You think the Lakers are going to be six? The way that he just panned out the Phoenix. But we haven't looked at anybody else's schedules. But the thing is, depending on what the Timberwolves are looking like that last game of the season, they're not tripping. But they got to play the Phoenix. But we haven't looked at anybody else's schedules. But the thing is, depending on what the Timberwolves are looking like that last game of the season, they're not tripping,
Starting point is 01:25:08 but they got to play the Kings. Dallas got a better chance It's not between Phoenix and the Lakers. Yeah, Dallas. It's between like five teams. That could be six. They're playing each other, though.
Starting point is 01:25:17 We're not playing none of them. We're playing, we're on the East Coast trip. They're just going to like sneak into this and they're all going to get out of each other. We ain't got to play none of them. They're like, we ain't got to play none of them. We went on the East Coast. They're just going to sneak into this. And I said, they're going to all be pushing out of each other. I said, yo, we ain't got to play.
Starting point is 01:25:27 And they're like, hey. We're on the East Coast. We're on the East Coast. And y'all just going to slowly. No. They're like Snoop down, taking them builders down. Yeah, New York, New York, New York. So the Suns got the toughest during the schedule.
Starting point is 01:25:43 But like you guys have said, some players are going to sit like SGA and play for the Thunder last night. But when you're looking at what the Mavs got to deal with, so they're at the Kings, who are obviously fighting for their playoff lives. Par game. At the Rockets, who are in the midst of that winning streak. Got to go to Golden State and play the Warriors. That's a good game. Then they got the Hawks, so they might get a break there.
Starting point is 01:25:58 They got to get a win there. Then they got the Warriors back at home, then the Rockets back at home. Then they got the Hornets, so they're going to get that one. Anybody who's trying to get that six-five, they cannot lose more than two or three games. At all. Max. At all. What about Sac?
Starting point is 01:26:10 See, just the Dallas schedule kind of tears everybody up, too. Yeah. Because they got Golden State twice. Someone got to win. They got Golden State twice and Houston twice. Yeah. That's tough. So, the Kings have got the Mavs, Jazz at home, Clippers at home, at the Kn gold or wait the Kings Kings. I got the Mavs
Starting point is 01:26:32 Jazz at home Clippers at home at the Knicks at the Celtics and that's oh my at the Thunder Nets is the only easy game they got in the season with the Pelican Suns and then they got the Blazers as our last game I look at the Suns then Blazers. Yeah, that's what I said Everybody's gonna be thinking about the last two see if they can get an easy win. Damn, that's tough. And you know, the Lakers got the easiest fucking schedule out of everybody. And I feel like somebody's going to trick that last game. It's going to be like a blade. Who asked Houston the last game? Let's pull it up.
Starting point is 01:26:57 This is going to be a fun last week. It's going to be wild. Lakers got to stay healthy. That's all I'm going to say. They can't afford. Nothing dumb happened. Yeah. Yeah, see?
Starting point is 01:27:09 Yeah, so Clippers. Imagine if that's the game to put some in there. And the Clippers, yeah, Clippers will put them in there. Like, oh, yeah, go ahead and get this. If the Clippers come through whatever spot they're in. Clippers versus Golden State, hell yeah. I mean, and we have this conversation. I know a lot of people hate the playing stuff,
Starting point is 01:27:26 but like, it's fun. Who has a tiebreaker? Who has a tiebreaker between Clippers and Houston? I mean, no, no. Golden State and Houston. Golden State and Houston.
Starting point is 01:27:35 Sure. That definitely is fun. I don't know. I know Laker's got it with the Suns. I understand why people hate it because you should reward people for not being top eight.
Starting point is 01:27:44 But it's just extending it. It's just ending it because there's more Competitiveness at the end of the season where guys can fight for that last spot so warriors one two out of the three against the rock like What else I was gonna say like Clippers Clippers because they have this beef with the Golden State Warriors could just trigger They just trick the game off to give it game off to give it to the Rockets. If they're both tied at the end of that last game, 1,000% Clippers give them the win.
Starting point is 01:28:14 Who, Houston? They give Houston the win. So they beat Golden State? So they can go in front of Golden State. If Golden State and Houston is tied, Clippers is giving Houston that win. That would be crazy. So where is Golden State right now?
Starting point is 01:28:28 Because they just won last night, right? They're 10th still. They're 10th still. They're both sitting there. It's a lot of good shit going on in the West. Now, this is good basketball. Control your destiny. This is good basketball.
Starting point is 01:28:37 But I'm still losing on my motherfucking picks. I don't like none of this shit that's happening. These niggas is not consistent at all. They're fucking me up man It's supposed to be good basketball. Y'all ain't doing what y'all supposed to be doing shit Gotta get these pick-ems pick-em me. All right. Well, let's keep it moving It's gonna be a very very exciting playoff race And if your team is not in it prepare to get packed up and cloned So and Edwards one of brightest young stars in the league right now. Wednesday came through with another legendary highlight.
Starting point is 01:29:05 I know y'all saw his pivot game on full display. So put pitches forward. Towson. Wow. He won't make the spin cycle. That's a three seconds. I thought that too. Lord have mercy.
Starting point is 01:29:18 That's his slight bumping of his defender. The ref is too busy looking at the A1. Go again, go again. One more time, Paolo. Was this like, because once you bump somebody in the lane. That pivot. Reset, reset. The pivot was pivot.
Starting point is 01:29:34 Now, you can't call three seconds on that, dog. You got to let that finish, bro. You got to let that finish. Dog, no, he was in there for like six seconds. You got to let that finish. He's going back, go back, go back, go back. I'm going to tell you when I will call the three seconds. You are. Let me count it, let me count it, let me count it. We got to count it. Lexi, it's in slow-mo. You gotta let that fit Let's count it. Oh, it's in slow motion. It's just slow mo one two not slow mo
Starting point is 01:29:57 Yeah, okay You Doing this right here You should get cut that's good defense though. That's until the end. Yeah, I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. Oh shit I don't know why I got that last one though. He was anybody's in the basket because he could have went boom Bam, I'm gone. Oh that way is all his looks that's the look I teach those looks like yeah, look bro Look on your jabs. Look on your jabs. Look! That's my look! You gotta look! My son got a new move.
Starting point is 01:30:29 Look! Look again! Gotcha! Hey, now, now, rewind. Look at the other people who's playing defense. Look at the family. Amazing! Now, look at the people who ain't, like, actually guarding the ball, but they help defend. Look at their faces. They're, like, so impressed. Look at the help defender. Who is that? Look at Katie. Look at the people who ain't actually guarding the ball, but they help defend.
Starting point is 01:30:45 Look at their faces. They're like so impressed. Look at the help defender. Who is that? Look at Cade. Look at Cade. No, go back. Go back.
Starting point is 01:30:53 Look at Cade. He playing hopscotch too. Yeah. Look at him. Look at him. Cade, jump in. Fast? You going fast?
Starting point is 01:31:02 Watch it. Here come Cade. Hey. Hey. Hey, jump in. Fast? You going fast? Watch it. Here comes Cade. Hey. Hey. Oh my gosh. He's amazing.
Starting point is 01:31:10 No, that was tough. That was... Nobody called me. I'm not calling you. No trouble. No three seconds. No. Yeah, people were trying to say that was a travel.
Starting point is 01:31:18 I was like, there's... Yeah, you playing... At that point, if you're a ref, you're playing defense now. Don't play defense, ref. I just took a shit out of him. One more pivot, three seconds. He was pivoting. One more pivot, three seconds.
Starting point is 01:31:33 Come on. You got to let him get the shot off. You got to let him get... If he did one more pivot after the four, no. You got to let him get it off. You got to let him get it off. Nah. As a defender, though... I'm glad he shot that, because if he hit one more pivot, I'm calling three seconds.
Starting point is 01:31:45 As a defender, though, I'm... You shot that, because if he hit one more pivot, I'm calling three seconds. As a defender, though, I'm calling three seconds. You worried about the wrong things, ref. Like, ref, you worried about the wrong things right now. If I'm a defender, I'm like, you know what? As a defender, it's three seconds for sure. Like, how much time you got down here? God damn. As much as I need.
Starting point is 01:32:02 That was, you know, that was enough. So, brings me to my next question. I love hearing y'all talk hoop, but which players have the best footwork you've seen? So, Lex, let's start with you on the women's side. What players that you've played against? The best footwork? Oh, Lord.
Starting point is 01:32:19 I don't know. I will say our post players have pretty good footwork. When I played with Sylvia Fowles, I was very impressed with her footwork at her size. Simone Augustus has good footwork. I'm sorry, Joe's fucking up this big ass chocolate bunny right now. No, no, I'm trying to put it back in the box.
Starting point is 01:32:42 You doing work on this? This is making a whole bunch of noise. Y'all just be grubbing on the show. Y'all just don't care. What about Cappy? Cappy, she had more handle than footwork. But Simone had that shit. Cappy? Elena?
Starting point is 01:33:04 Elena Deledon got good footwork too. Hell no. I mean it's pretty much all the girls that like playing the midi. Plum. Yeah, Kelsey Plum. She has good footwork too. She worked with Kobe a lot though. She did work with Kobe. I feel like there's a lot of female players, women players that you could say have good footwork because we're so fundamental. So it's just like that's something that we focus on you say fundamental you mean basic No, okay. This is fundamental. I meant basic out of said basic Okay, you know I mean usually just fancy words for shit now. Oh, you got the bag
Starting point is 01:33:39 Just a fancy word for something else. Okay. No, it's not basic. Okay. No, you know Did you have a bag when you were playing? I mean, pause, rewind. The basics are important. We were talking about that yesterday. That's what's missing in the men's game. Facts. Okay, continue.
Starting point is 01:33:54 Let's just say that. Well, what's missing in the men's game is the basics? Yeah, well, youth. We were talking about like A-U and Y-G-E. So the basics
Starting point is 01:34:02 don't mean fundamentals? Yes. No. Basics and basic are two different things. The basics... He didn't have an S on it. Oh. He just had basic as in...
Starting point is 01:34:11 The basics and basic are two different things. Basic is like standard. Basic is like... The way he said it was like lame, boring. Like, man, minimum. You got minimum skill. Yeah. Gil Bunny.
Starting point is 01:34:22 The basics are the building block, the foundation. Absolutely. Two different words. I'm not going building block, the foundation. Absolutely. Two different words. Thank you. I'm not going to explain what I meant. I know what you meant. This is the arena presented by Underdog Fantasy.
Starting point is 01:34:31 I know what you meant. You are the namesake of the show. It was not good. Generic. Did you mean it in a positive? I'm going to just let you be confused. Give support. Support the game.
Starting point is 01:34:41 We are getting our season tickets to the Sparks this year. I'm going to go with... Hey, hey, hey. Where did you get that from? Support the game. We are getting our season tickets to the Sparks this year. I'm going to go with... Hey! Where did you get that from? Where did it come from? She pulled that moment out of nowhere. He gave it to me. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:57 I'm going to go with Damar, Kyrie... Damar, Kyrie, Ant-Man, and Kobe. That's what we're talking about all the time. You know what I mean? You can't, you can't, I'm watching that ant play, and it looks very Kobe-esque just in terms of, I mean, it was like, it brought back memories.
Starting point is 01:35:17 That footwork was supreme. I'm going to go Paul Pierce, Kobe, and Kyrie. Those three, since we're not and Kyrie. Those three. Since we're not saying just one. What makes their foot? What about Hakeem? Can we? Yeah, Hakeem.
Starting point is 01:35:31 You guys think Luka has good footwork? Yeah. Luka? There's a reason he's charging 50. Nah, Hakeem 100%. No. 100%. It was 100% until when you look at it now,
Starting point is 01:35:43 and then actually those are actual travels So I applied all that shit Yeah, you applied it then cuz it was cool now when you look at it you blow that's travels now No I applied it on the wing When you apply that shit on the post is harder when you got motherfuckers leaning against you and I saying? When you can do it on the post when motherfuckers not really got their hands on you, you get to see how it works because you're moving them. You're moving them with fakes.
Starting point is 01:36:12 You're moving them with jabs. You're moving them with pump fakes and stuff like that. And that's what Cole was able to do. He was able to take that shit to the wing. Hit pause on whatever you're listening to and hit play on your next adventure. Stay three nights this summer at Best Western and get $50 off a future stay. Life's a trip.
Starting point is 01:36:30 Make the most of it at Best Western. Visit bestwestern.com for complete terms and conditions. I mean, Paul Pierce the same way. He's just showing the face-up game and how, you know, the step-backs and all that shit. I love all that shit. I got one more player. Drew Lloyd.
Starting point is 01:36:46 Drew. There's no storm. Very Kobe-esque footwork. Yuck. For sure. Bucket kitty. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 01:36:55 Big fan of Drew Lloyd. I'm an underdog picker. You know what my move Drew Johnson had? Which one? Right? When he throws the ball here and then crossover. Amazing move. Travel. And then it became a travel. Yeah. So because it comes with travel, ball here and then crossover. Amazing move. Travel.
Starting point is 01:37:05 And then it became a travel. Yeah. So because it comes with travel, it's not a hell of a move. But that has nothing to do with Hakeem and your... Hot, hot, hot, hot. Let it go. Then it was cool. Today...
Starting point is 01:37:19 Travel. Travel. Are you judging Hakeem? Are you judging Hakeem? Are you judging the player that Hakeem worked out who didn't have? That's how I feel about the step back you don't like the step hard What's wrong with it? That's the fucking travel, you know Do a lot of players do that what the little guys you picking the ball up and then you're taking those many people do it
Starting point is 01:37:42 You know what? So what they won't see it all the because if the ball is not in his hand, those are not steps yet. But that's what I'm saying. So it all depends on... You can literally be into a move and the ball be in the air like you wait for a dribble again.
Starting point is 01:37:54 Then you take a step. There's some tricky shit out there, man. You're like, what the fuck is that? That's a travel. What is he doing? But I remember there was a rep that explained. He said, 30% of the time time it's a travel.
Starting point is 01:38:09 Add that with the fact he's moving away from the basket, which makes it harder to make, unless we're going to catch it in real time and actually count it, for the most part we're just going to let the play go because he doesn't have an advantage. Like, if he was going to the rim right making layups then yes But the fact that he stepped he's going from 22 feet to 25 feet Play defense that's why I start calling that gather When you went to the basket the LeBron gather plus the extra step. Yeah, you saw that clip of doing the gather
Starting point is 01:38:41 Hmm. I forgot what game it was. It was maybe a week ago. It was that gather where zero, zero step. I didn't even know that was a thing. You just bounce the ball at the same time you step. Doesn't count. I mean,
Starting point is 01:38:54 when they put it in slow motion, it was a travel. But in real time, it didn't look like a travel. So that's what the refs see in real time. Does Jordan have good footwork?
Starting point is 01:39:04 For his time? Yeah. For his time? Do you feel that Jordan, what do you feel about Jordan's footwork? Okay. I mean, that's just, it's all for your time. Like, what rules were allowed, so, you know, Bird had great footwork for that time. Was the push-off a push-off, or was it just good?
Starting point is 01:39:23 It was Michael Jordan. Get your ass up. Get your ass up out of here. He pushed, ref. You're Brian Russell, bro. You got to play defense, bro. I can't make that call, man. And that's really
Starting point is 01:39:37 what people don't really understand at the end. Oubre don't understand at the end. I can't blow my whistle. I got to let the talent finish the end. Oubre don't understand at the end. I can't blow my whistle. I got to let the talent finish the game. Refs told me that before. Like, yo, I'm getting hit. Like, no, I don't want to end the game.
Starting point is 01:39:57 That's your job. Unless it's a real obvious hit, let the talent win the game. They came here to see the talent make big shots or get defended on big shots. I can't be the whistleblower. I want all the refs to feel that way. If that's Maxie, do they call the foul? If that's Maxie,
Starting point is 01:40:16 probably not. If that's Joel Embiid, yeah. They're definitely going to call that for Maxie. No, because it's Paul George. What if it was... If that was Kawhi Leonard or Paul George going yet. He called that on Oubre Yeah, but you're calling what I have a problem with that whole last jump ball and shit, right? He tipped it to Batum why didn't baton take the ball and go score the ball? Why did he tip the ball?
Starting point is 01:40:46 Who tipped the ball? Batum tipped the ball the other way He had the advantage going for it. Just getting it and going to the basket He tipped it back the other way with his two seconds left Why would you do that? You know motherfuckers gonna be thinking. I was like yo, what would you do that for? You know in real time motherfuckers gonna be thinking. Oh, I was like, yo, what would you do that for? You know, in real time, motherfuckers gonna be thinking. I was like, yo, you had a whole leg. Ball coming, oh shit.
Starting point is 01:41:09 Exactly what he did. I was like, yo, you had a whole advantage. And it was like, yo, you fucked the game up, bro. You know, sometimes, it can happen so quick. Jane, oh, that was J.R. Gossman. Who name did I mess up today? I think you said Fubre, according to the chat. I didn't say Fubre.
Starting point is 01:41:24 Gil. Oh, we gotta talk about yesterday think you said Fubre. I didn't say Fubre. Gil. We got to talk about yesterday, too. Fubre. We were talking about euthanizing the game, but I think you were saying euthanize, Y-O-U-T-H. You just made a word up, but euthanize, and it's real. What did I say? Isn't euthanize a word?
Starting point is 01:41:37 Euthanize. Yeah, euthanize is a... So if you euthanize an animal, you put it... You were saying euthanize with the Y-O-U saying euthanized with the youth though. I know Make younger I worked you long enough to know you event words So I didn't didn't point it out there cuz we were just in a great rhythm I went to public school y'all know what you were playing that on my teacher it always be that one more game you're like what the fuck is euthanized? Like, shut up. You know what I was trying to say.
Starting point is 01:42:27 Let me euthanize. Use your context clues. For the youths. You know what I meant. The two youths. Can't stand them niggas in the chat. Chad's been much better behaved as of late. I want to give y'all a shout out, Chad. And because I love y'all so much, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:42:42 Download the 100-Dog Fantasy app. They asked me, they asking why I'm wearing this outfit. Because it's almost Easter, Hemi. Oh, it's almost Easter? Yeah, you just did it to do it. Huh? You know they got a Hollywood party coming up, and they said they need bunnies. Who's hosting the party, bro?
Starting point is 01:43:01 Who's hosting the party? Look at, look at that. They need bunnies, man. They need bunnies. Sometimes you laugh like this, it's like, you already know they need bunnies. I can't help it. That shit be funny to me.
Starting point is 01:43:16 They need bunnies. Who's hosting the party? Dude. Oh, shit. They said he's free. No bunnies like them bunnies. I ain't going to them bunny parties, nigga. When I lose my basketball over there, I don't even go knock on the door. I just let it be.
Starting point is 01:43:31 It was funny. Why would you say that? You know that was fake, right? Of course it was fake. It felt very fake, but at the same time. It was funny. When he said he's doing too much, they were all collectively lying. Ain't no basketball game over there in the first place. One, that's one. That's a hell of a brick, too. It was funny when he's doing too much Oh, you can go get your balls, all right. Come on over here, nigga. I just let it be.
Starting point is 01:44:07 That was a hell of a line, though, because everybody thought that was real. I was going to run it on the show, but as you know, my radar was like... I think the mother came out and said, we don't even live next to him. We don't even live next to him. We don't live in that neighborhood. Don't involve us in this.
Starting point is 01:44:19 Please, keep us out of it. All right, so last thing we got to hit quickly, March Madness in full swing. Hate to do this, because I obviously went to UCLA and never want to show any love to USC, the school of O.J. Simpson, but got to show some love to arguably the second best college in LA.
Starting point is 01:44:33 That's a lot of motherfuckers went to USC, man. But O.J. is the most notable alumni. Most visible. Reggie Bush. Reggie or not. Hey, Reggie. I would use infamous instead of notable. Alex Felix? Alex Felix, yeah. He. I would use infamous. Alice. Notable. Felix.
Starting point is 01:44:45 Alice and Felix. She's still running right now. Yeah. You have White Mamba. Huh? The White Mamba came from there. Shout out to White Mamba. Reggie, big young.
Starting point is 01:44:54 What? Huh? Shout out. Whoa, whoa. You done gone too far. Come on. The fuck with Iggy and Zelda. This nigga's a legend.
Starting point is 01:45:02 Shout out Quincy McCall. OJ Mayo with the Bentley on the cover. Come on. OJ James. Yeah. Shout out Brian. Shout out crazy. Oh, hey, man. Oh with the Bentley owner Shout out Quincy McDonnell Well, let's talk about juju Watkins, all right USC squad advanced to the sweet 16 for the first time since 1994. That is 30 years. Wow. Mm-mm. Last time Trojan advanced this far, Lisa Leslie was a senior.
Starting point is 01:45:32 Cheryl Miller was the head coach. So Juju's averaging close to 26 points a game, eight rebounds in her first two tournament games. Cheryl Miller was the coach of Lisa Leslie? That's what I'm just telling you how it goes. Wow. I didn't know. Yeah, Cheryl. Yeah, because Cheryl never played in the WNBA, which people... Yeah, nobody knew.
Starting point is 01:45:46 No, I mean, I knew that, but I didn't know she coached Lisa Leslie. I didn't know she coached at all. You know. So she coached the McGee twins? Oh, I don't know. Let's double check. Damn, why she didn't coach since then? They were my next-door neighbor.
Starting point is 01:46:01 Pam was my next-door neighbor. Pam was? Yeah, so JaVale used to always be around when he was younger, then they moved to Michigan. It's a crazy world we live in, Q. Crazy world. So Cheryl Miller was at... Where's our resident Trojan expert? So she was assistant from 86 to 91, head coach from 93 to 95. Yeah, she...
Starting point is 01:46:19 She had to. Yeah, so... No, she played with Cynthia Cooper. I think she played with him. She played and coached? She played with Cynthia Cooper. I think she played with him. No. She played and coached? She played with Pam. Hold on. Let me double check.
Starting point is 01:46:34 They're just making up shit. No. How I make up names, they're just making up stats. So Miller's teammates included Cynthia Cooper, Pam McGee, and Paula McGee while she was there. So she played with them. Sheed with them and then coached. And then coached Lisa Leslie. But then Lisa Leslie played with them too? No, I do not think so.
Starting point is 01:46:54 The fact that we're talking about SC in general. Okay, go back. Focus, focus. Be thankful. Back relevant. Love that. Yeah, no, Coach Lisa Leslie did not. Okay. But nonetheless, 30 years since USC's women's squad has advanced to the Sweet 16.
Starting point is 01:47:13 So Juju's averaging 26 a game, eight rebounds, moving closer to breaking the single season freshman scoring record. So, Lexi, I gotta ask you, is Juju the most W-ready prospect in college right now? I would say her and Kaitlyn might be 1A1. Ah, I'm going to throw Paige in there, too. I don't know if y'all have been watching Paige play, but that's a pro right there. So, between Juju, Kaitlyn, and Paige, those are three girls that I watch. I'm like, oh, those are WNBA players.
Starting point is 01:47:47 What year is Paige? She's a senior. Yep. She's coming back from her injury, right? Yeah, I think it's her first time playing a tournament, like, two years, whatever was going on. It's crazy that she would be a top three pick, right? If she was in the draft. Paige might be the number one pick, maybe. If she came out this year. If she never got injured. For sure. She would be the number three pick, right? If she was in the draft... Paige might be the number one pick, maybe.
Starting point is 01:48:05 If she came out this year... If she never got injured, she would be the number one pick. What I'm saying is if she actually went into the draft this year... She would be top three for sure. So where do you go back to school for? Because she's going to be top three next year. She might be number one next year and she might
Starting point is 01:48:22 get put on the new team in Golden State. She missed a lot of time. number one next year, and she might get put on the new team in Golden State. Yeah. She missed a lot of time. But what I'm saying is right now you're the number three pick, so most likely you'll be going to Sparks, right? I mean, Gil, some people really enjoy college and all that money. Your friends are there.
Starting point is 01:48:42 She doesn't want a championship there. She hasn't. They ain't winning like four years. I mean, UConn hasn't want a championship there. She hasn't. They ain't won in like four years. I mean, UConn hasn't won a championship in a minute. Yeah. And she would be, I wouldn't say she would have been like one of like just the regular UConn girls because none of them girls are regular, but she would be like one of the goats of UConn. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:00 She at least doesn't get close to a national championship. But Sparks got the two and four right now. Yeah. Yeah. Chicago Sky got the three and four right now. Yeah. Yeah. Chicago Sky got the three. Fever got the uno. But also, she would have been in the big market no matter what. But now she can go get that tech bread.
Starting point is 01:49:15 I look at Juju's game, and I see some discrepancies as far as down the stretch consistencies that she would run into some sometimes but not all the time yeah right i think the the teams that she'll play against that give her an easy break or allow her to do her thing she'll she'll do it she'll get highlights she'll do all that stuff but like i think another year of consistent conditioning getting that energy where i see her take breaks on the court a lot and i think that's just due to her just being out there as a freshman right you know i'm saying i think another year two years she gonna she gonna start to learn like i take the game over at any time i want to and i'm'm not going to get tired in doing it. I'm not going to sub out.
Starting point is 01:50:05 And she's not going to need 20-plus shots to do it. Right. I think that's going to come with it. There's one part of the game y'all missing. She plays both sides of the ball. No, for sure, she does. So she's not like the other two. They're playing offense.
Starting point is 01:50:20 She plays defense and offense. That's what I said. When you say NBA ready, yes. Physically, she's by far further than them along. At that age. She's a freshman
Starting point is 01:50:36 looking like a senior right now. Above senior. If they all went into the draft and they had to work out against each other, she is the number one draft pick. Yeah. If you're saying, all right, we need you three to work out.
Starting point is 01:50:51 We're going to spend the week. She's going to kill them. She's going to kick their ass. She'll kill them. She'll kill them. Because she's going to manhandle them defensively and offensively. They're not going to be a stand front. She knows how to play. So, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:51:00 So when it comes to NBA ready, it's just now we're just going to be waiting for three more years Why she just sit here and do the things that? Like when she comes out, she's number one pick. Yeah Period I compared to like my more though Like when Maya came out after those years at you and you knew you knew Like she had prepared to be the number one pig and they're making impact right away What she wanted she won a championship almost immediately. Immediately. Maya.
Starting point is 01:51:25 Yeah. Granted, that team was pretty stacked. Already stacked as fuck. Who was it? Candice and Simone was on that team? No, Syl, Simone, Lizzy Whalen. Lizzy Whalen was on that team. I just saw some highlights of her from college on Twitter. Cold.
Starting point is 01:51:40 Minnesota. Oh, my gosh. Cold. Cold. I was like, yeah, Lindsay, you cold. I forgot how cold she was. Lindsay was cold as fuck. I need some predictions.
Starting point is 01:51:47 What are your expectations for Juju for the rest of the tourney? They got Baylor on Saturday. Sweet 16. Man, I want Paige and Juju. If they win, who do they play next? Winner of UConn or Duke? So probably UConn. How good is Duke?
Starting point is 01:51:59 I wrote you something for Duke. How good is Duke? Is Duke this good this year? They play very good defense. No, it's above. Oh, y'all can't score? I mean, we've been scoring in a tournament. That's why they're in a sweet 16.
Starting point is 01:52:13 But, yeah, throughout the season, they kind of struggle to score. But they have a player, Reagan, I want to say, who's, like, really found her rhythm offensively, like, 30 last game. So if she can keep playing like that and they keep defending, they might give UConn some problems. Obviously I'm rooting for Duke, but the other part of me would love to see Juju Page in the Elite Eight. I see UConn and then obviously once UCLA handles their business versus LSU, they'll likely
Starting point is 01:52:41 take on Iowa and the other... What's Page's size? Is she the same size as Juju? Juju's bigger. Taller. How tall is Juju? So Juju is the biggest one out of all of them. They all over six feet though, I think.
Starting point is 01:52:54 She's six two. Yeah, she's six two. Paige is six feet. Five eleven. Caitlin is six feet. Paige is five eleven. So Paige is the smallest one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:02 But they all tall. So is Caitlin is what? Six foot? Six one. Yeah, But they all tall. So is Caitlyn is what? Six foot? Six one. Ooh. Yeah, she tall. No, who? Caitlyn is 5'11". Paige is 6'1".
Starting point is 01:53:10 Oh, Paige is 6'1". So Caitlyn is the smallest. So that matchup would be a good matchup because they're almost the same size. But Juju's a lot more of a poker. I mean, I don't think... Caitlyn listed at six feet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:22 Caitlyn listed at six feet. Paige, 5'11". Juju, 6'2". Damn. Oof. I don't pay listen at six features. Yeah, I'm listed 60 page 511 juju 6 to See matchup Gino got something for that ass, but yeah, he got handle it just who do you know? You know, I am you had the quadruple team one player that that lets you know who's the better player We're gonna play you man to man. You got a quadruple double. Yeah. So that's the thing.
Starting point is 01:53:48 That's when I look at it. I think Baze can get her in foul trouble, though. That's the... She's not fast enough. She's crafty, though. But that's the thing I hate about... That's what I hate to think about, like, matches like this. Like, to really see who's better... You've got to match them.
Starting point is 01:54:01 If USC is playing y'all straight up, then you play straight up. Don't start sending doubles and triple to make it seem like y'all are stopping someone when they're. I've seen that economy bullshit. This shit is hard to navigate. I got that shit my senior year. But that load up. I was like, what is this, dawg?
Starting point is 01:54:18 Load up. Elbows in boxes. I was like, what is this? Will man up. Will man up. Shit was crazy. But we elbows in boxes. Oh my god. I'm high. I was like, dawg this? We'll man up. I'm high. But we elbows and boxes on the spot. I'm high.
Starting point is 01:54:26 I'm high. I was like, dog. We got your back. We got your back. Sit in this way. Sit on this way. Sit in this way. Hell.
Starting point is 01:54:32 Yes, they were all right over here. Sit in this way. I was like, hey, yo. My teammate had 25. We'll hit it. Hell. Nah. They had 25 that game.
Starting point is 01:54:41 What a great game. Get this word. They say you better than me. Get this word. Stand. Hey, look. Stand tall. One this word. Stand. Stand tall. I need one-on-one, dog. Stand tall.
Starting point is 01:54:48 If you had people, one of our guys, that wanted to play you, I'm like, hey, listen, man. I don't give a fuck about your pride. I got your help. I got your help. I'm trying to win, bro. Listen, you're going to need help. You know you're going up against. You're going to need help, bro.
Starting point is 01:55:00 Hey, I'll be doing that all the time. I used to do that. Not that pride. Stand on your own like a man. Stand on your own like a man. Nah, bro. We trying to win. Hey, coach, he needs help. I got your help, bro. I used to do that. Fuck that pride. Stand on your own, like a man. Stand on your own. Nah, bro.
Starting point is 01:55:06 We trying to win. Hey, coach, he needs help. I got your help, bro. Don't even trip. Don't even trip. Send him home. Y'all got to help him out now? Y'all got to help?
Starting point is 01:55:14 Yes. Yep. You not giving us- You might as well guard me. He's not giving us- You might as well just guard me, because he can't do it by himself. Hell nah. He's stupid.
Starting point is 01:55:22 Nah, nah, nah. I got it. Nah, nah, nah. Fuck it. All right. We're not helping out. Take your stupid pride. Pride. He'll be stupid Stupid right now game plan game stick to the game March Madness back tonight Gil how much Arizona lose about a night what am I got a sweet by myself? I noticed that yesterday when I noticed that yesterday when you told me you had a sweet Yeah, yes One person sweet, whoa Not even your Duke Duke ain't even out here. Where are they?
Starting point is 01:56:06 Who knows in the Midwest somewhere? No, I don't know where the men's mess. The girls are in Portland one Gains at 407 maybe being it's here Do you know how when I got to do shit you all y'all like all the legs I got it, huh? What is the meaning of life? We're playing, um, I don't know, it don't matter. We're going to run through them. We're going to run through them, and then we got North Carolina Saturday. Oh, that's not easy. Then we're going to run through North Carolina on Saturday. Who they got?
Starting point is 01:56:35 I don't think they're going to make it. North Carolina got Bama. They got Baylor. Baylor or Bama? Bama, Bama. They got Alabama. They got Alabama. Then we're going to run through them Tar Heels Saturday.
Starting point is 01:56:44 So I know you got a game to get to, so let's just keep this show going. Four o'clock, I'm good. No, I just wanted to devote the next two or three hours to just talking about, you know, let's get on to Mostly Fans, presented by Underdog Fantasy. Tyler, you know we love you, we're gonna get this thing moving and shaking.
Starting point is 01:57:02 If you have not done so already, download that, use promo code GIL. They'll match your first deposit up to $100. So, first question comes from the chat from underdog user KittenAround25. KittenAround. KittenAround25. Meow, meow.
Starting point is 01:57:17 What's one game in your career you wish you could get back and why? April 4th, 2007. What happened on April 4th, 2007, Gil? Gerald Wallace ran into my knee. Damn. I wish I could get that back and just went home like I said
Starting point is 01:57:35 I was going to go home and play Fortnite. Damn. I mean, I ended up playing Fortnite, but it was hours later. What happens? What happens if you do Fortnite? Fortnite was not released until.
Starting point is 01:57:50 That's what I'm saying. I mean, not for now. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:54 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:55 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:55 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:56 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:57 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:58 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:58 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:57:59 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo.
Starting point is 01:58:03 Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. Halo. I was like... Can you tell the Halo story, please? Let me see your Halo. Kicked off of, or... You got kicked off of Halo? Oh, I got banned. Oh, yeah, my Xbox...
Starting point is 01:58:11 Yeah, yeah, okay, so look. Banned from Halo is crazy. I was... They started coming out with mob boxes, right? So if anybody... You can mob boxes. So what happens is you can, like, change your weapons, right? So some of the boxes change weapons.
Starting point is 01:58:25 So my pistol, I had pistols that shot rockets. Now think about how fast you can shoot your pistols. That's how many rockets you can shoot. You had a cheat code. Yeah, and then I had the sniper where you didn't have to aim, automatic to headshot. Wow. So basically I can be facing the wall, pull the trigger, somebody dead. You cheated for everything.
Starting point is 01:58:42 So obviously I can't have all 50 wins because then people will be looking at me So I'll just wait like every three minutes So I have anyway, I stayed between anywhere to 15 to 21 But someone called me out and they flagged me. How is that fun for you? Knowing that you're cheating? Remember in the Incredibles when he's the sun? Winning ain't fun. Remember when the sun was mad fast and they put him in track and they're like, slow down, slow down.
Starting point is 01:59:13 Yeah, that was me. Yeah, that's not fun though. Winning is always fun. He came in second. When he could have just went first. When you start talking trash, oh, don't worry. Boom. Hey, how'd you shoot me? Don't worry about it. When you start talking trash How you shoot me And then if you played Halo back then, racism existed. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, on the mics?
Starting point is 01:59:46 Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. It still is is. What you talking about? It never stops. It never goes off. It didn't go away. They hear that you a nigga.
Starting point is 01:59:56 They're like, ah, I hear you. Hey, no, no, no. My name was Black Osama. My name was Black Osama, so I was a terrorist off the jump. We got to work on your naming conventions for the very last time. My name was black who saw but so I was a terrorist off the jump I was playing mad dog. She'll say man. I was playing Madden called an interception All I heard was You must be black. Yeah Cuz only monkeys can jump that high.
Starting point is 02:00:26 Damn! No, I started coughing up laughing. I was like, yo! It's a video game. It's a video game. They 12 years old, they'd be so young, they'd be like, yo, where's your daddy at? Where your mom at? Probably saying worse things.
Starting point is 02:00:42 It was like, the little kids being there, here's another one. Someone yelled out like, anyone in here black? Nah. You know what I'll do to a black baby forehead? No, I'll put my white nuts on a black baby forehead. I was like, yo. Yo, what's wrong with you, dawg?
Starting point is 02:01:11 But the fact that they checked the room. No, they checked it like he was. He had to check the room first. He checked the room. But like, you can't see that there's no black people in there. You might as well just set it off rip. Put nuts on any baby forehead. And you know I use that going forward. That was my joke moving forward. Any black people in there? You might as well just set it off rip. Put nuts on any baby's forehead. No, and you know I use that going forward.
Starting point is 02:01:27 That was my joke moving forward. Any black people in here? Nope. Hey. They be going in, man. They go in, dog. Gil Bunny. No, yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:37 Lexi, quickly, one game in your career you wish you could get back and why? Probably my first season at Duke playing. We got to the ACC championship game and we lost. I wish that I played a little better and we won that game because I feel like the next season would have been like a little better. I mean, the next season was great, but I feel like that would have like changed things for us like the next season. Yeah, it was a winnable game because our coach made us rewatch it when we got back to Durham when the season was No before the time about the second like in silence. She didn't say anything. Can't go no watch the whole game so that was Knowing that a game was winnable sucks like they whooped our ass out have been different but
Starting point is 02:02:21 Definitely one of them shot up One game in your career you wish you could get back and why? I don't even think there's a game, man, except for, like, there was a situation more than there was a game because he spoke on, like, injury. So, in Minnesota, before I got my microf micro fracture. I decided to go This is where the LeBron
Starting point is 02:02:50 Competition comes from okay. We're on Star Island Next door to the Diddy man We wasn't at the Diddy party was next door at our own little party Brian AI D Wade rip all theWade, Rip, all of the guys showed up. And I was in rare form of my rookie year. And Brian showed up. And at this time, he had just came off his...
Starting point is 02:03:15 Championship? It was, no, it was third. The finals? It was 2006. Okay. 2005, 2006. Okay. So he just showed up
Starting point is 02:03:24 and I just squared him up. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, eh. Okay. So he just showed up, and I just squared him up. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, man, you ain't all that, nigga. Annoying. And that's that party. So after the party, the next morning, like, I was there with Ticket. So we supposed to be having a whole weekend and everything, and I'm like, man, I just booked my flight.
Starting point is 02:03:41 I'm about to go to the crib. He's like, you about to go to the crib? What you mean? I'm like, yeah, I'm about to go home, man. I's like you about to go to the crib What you mean? I'm like, yeah, I'm about to go home man Get ready for the season and she like what so his homeboy was like nah nah I seen you I seen you squaring this nigga LeBron up you ready You try and go back and prepare with that nigga now I went home and fuck my knee up
Starting point is 02:03:59 Trying to get ready for trying to get ready for Brian and then it prompted the whole the whole microfracture surgery and Trying to get ready for brawn. And it prompted the whole micro fracture surgery. And if I wasn't as competitive trying to compete with him. I would have had a better outcome in my career. What a made up scenario you have in your head. I'm going to the crib. Fuck this nigga. I don't give crib. Fuck this nigga. I don't give a fuck about this nigga, man.
Starting point is 02:04:28 I'm better than you. Went home and fucked the whole shit up. I should have just fucked with the work, man. He said I wasn't at a puppy party. I was next door. I was next door. We had real work in there. We had a men's one.
Starting point is 02:04:43 You know, I think there's this misconception about, like, those type of parties, right? What type of parties are we talking about? Them Hollywood parties. Okay. Them Hollywood parties, they don't take advantage of athletes. The reason, because we're already rich as fuck. Right? So, they can't compromise.
Starting point is 02:05:03 They can't compromise our integrity and we have things and money because of our skills Not because of people who know us what we do on the internet. Yeah, like I say it all the time if the internet went away My life would be probably the same Yeah, so what they want is they want the people who's inspiring actors and aspiring musicians And they want to take advantage of those type of people. When you see all the people that's coming out, they're really nobodies. Right.
Starting point is 02:05:32 For sure. They don't have nothing. So it's easier to compromise their talents and their skills because they don't have any what's the name? The athlete, they just use us as props. Yep. Oh, this my boy. He gonna be here. This my boy right here sweetheart. Like, look, you start doing this with the girl. Hey, look, look, I. Yeah, oh this my boy. He gonna be here
Starting point is 02:05:56 Party at Diddy's house during art Basel and I said absolutely not not going there Yeah, I know you played a dub. I was like no way y'all can go if y'all want to I'm not going there Mm-hmm. Just bad weird energy. I've seen videos from parties and just... I was like, I'm good. I don't need... Don't need that. Well, ladies and gentlemen, we have to say, look, our parties,
Starting point is 02:06:16 the NBA parties, we can throw our own party. We got our own way. I would go. I went too. NBA parties, listen, athlete parties are way different than Hollywood parties. I went to. Indian parties, listen, athlete parties are way different. Than Hollywood parties.
Starting point is 02:06:26 Than Hollywood parties. Oh, yeah. It's usually like, you have like what, 10 to 20 players and friends, about 100 women. Yep. That's selling. Yep. Yep. Where it go? Or on that note. Or it's been sold. Or it's been sold. On that note.
Starting point is 02:06:46 Or has been sold. Or has been sold. It's strippers. It's porn stars. That's it. You ain't got to talk. There's no touching shoulders. Really, you don't want to rub shoulders with none of them.
Starting point is 02:07:00 You ain't high-fiving nobody. If I'm throwing the party, right right and they got the 20 homies 20 homies came like I got my own work here to like 10 to the mine But then they either bring their so they like oh we got some for y'all y'all got y'all It's more like that. It ain't like like compromises of that comes from Hollywood. They're trying to just take advantage. Yeah of Young aspiring people. Well, look, it's always a party on Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Fantasy. Applebee's or nothing, baby. Applebee's or nothing.
Starting point is 02:07:31 If you need a bunny, black bunny, that'll dress up to your party. Yeah, you got to wear that to your function. You got to wear that to the party. Hey, you know sausage is going to hit your line. You better stop it. And on that note, this is Gilels Arena presented by Underdog Fantasy. Wah, wah! Woo, woo! We'll be right back. Thank you.
