The Wizards are not expected to have immediate extension talks with Trey. Both sides will evaluate his health once he arrives in Washington.

So Trey's averaging 25 points, 10 assists, four rebounds for his career, has scored or assisted on 48.1 points per game, which is the second most of NBA history behind Luca Donchik. Now he joins the Wizards Squad, which currently has the fourth worst record in the league as they look to rebuild their franchise back to relevance with a roster full of young talent and plenty of cap space this summer. What's your reaction to the Hawks trading, Trey Young to the Wizards? I mean, he got what he wanted, right? I mean, that's where he was preferring to go on. He got his money, so he's kind of like in the situation where he was in before. that they're not having extension conversations already is like why not, why would he go there? Like, why would that be his preferred destination if his agent and then know something already? Yeah. So a little interesting there. Yeah, it's a wait and see kind of a situation right now. There's a report that he's not going to play this year, maybe, possibly, what for?

They don't need to put him out there with that. Well, no, sure. So, you know, it's just one thing, but we'll see how it plays out. They got some young guys who they've drafted high over the last few years, see how well and if Tray's able to jail with those guys when he's, steps on the floor. But yeah, to get out of Atlanta, it seemed like the right one was on the wall. And this is where he wants to be, then more power to him. So, Trey has obviously a player option this summer.

I think convention wins him is that he's going to opt in. I think opt out and redo it and have another year on it. That's my thought. Yeah. I mean, you got what, 46 mil guaranteed right now, obviously in limbo, just based on the market. And if you look at what the Hawks got back in. return for him obviously seems like they were very motivated to move on. Yeah, so that's what makes me think that the extension is is coming soon.

Not any money. Yeah, because he got a player option if he opt into that, then he becomes unrestricted to Fred. Why would you trade for Tray Young and have him for one year? Like that don't make sense. Yeah, I mean it doesn't, but the Wither's have a ton of cap space. Got a Young Corp. That's what makes me think that he's going to sign the extension and they're going to try to

go get somebody else as well. So to team up with him. So I think the extension is inevitable. sooner than later. So I don't think he opts into that. I think he opts out. He does his deal, signs a three or four year deal, and they go sign somebody else.
