Episode Date: May 17, 2024

Gil's Arena Talks Luka Doncic's Domination & Spida's Los Angeles Lakers Rumors as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena react to Luka's 2nd straight triple double to carry the Dallas Mavericks to a pivotal... victory over the OKC Thunder & The Boston Celtics finishing off the Cavs in 5 games to potentially close out the Donovan Mitchell Era in Cleveland. They break down Luka's game which seems to flourish when he's not focused on the officials and debate if he & Kyrie Irving can carry this team all the way to the NBA Finals before discussing Shai Gilgeous Alexander's consistent play in the NBA Playoffs despite the Thunder being just 1 game away from elimination. Then, they react to Jayson Tatum & The Boston Celtics getting one game closer to their title aspirations as the league favorites closed out the Cavs in 5 games and discuss what the loss means for the Cavaliers core of Donovan Mitchell & Darius Garland as rumors are already swirling over Spida leaving the Cavs to join LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers. Finally, they whip around the association touching on NBA Topics like the end of Inside the NBA, The Impact of SLAM Magazine on Hoops Culture, Lexie's return to the WNBA with the Los Angeles Sparks, and the New York Knicks Fluke run in the NBA Playoffs. Will this be the year they finally raise another banner in Beantown? Luka had his second straight triple-double to give the Mavs a 3-2 lead, but will SGA and the Thunder show their youth or that they're the truth in Game 6? And the Knicks are a game away from reaching their first Easter Conference Final since 2000,

So like we mentioned previously, Sparks had their season opener last night, even though it didn't go how we wanted it to. Lexi, we're happy to see you back in a Sparks jersey. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:05:40 And apparently so is Kim Kardashian in Northwest. Yeah. And y'all out there cheesing in the locker room. Yeah, they were sweet. That was really cool. North, I met North at the gym, actually. She trains with my trainer. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:05:51 So she walked in when I was finishing a workout. So I actually met North like a few weeks ago. So them pulling up, coming all the way to Long Beach. Yeah. That meant a lot. For sure. Now that's commitment and dedication right there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:04 So how did it feel to be back on the floor with the Sparks after everything that you dealt with last season? Yeah, it felt great. Just feeling healthy. I mean, I feel better than I did this time last year. And I just have a new role on the team that I'm just figuring out. Okay. But it was fun.
Starting point is 00:06:20 This group is really fun, and we're young, and we're learning. And I think last night was a really winnable game for us. People aren't really checking for us at all as far as winning games. We're checking for y'all. We're going to take that to heart and let it motivate us. Every day is a learning experience. We've only had 11 practices together. Then we made our final cuts a few days ago. Okay. What are your thoughts on your new Sparks teammates, Cameron Brink and Rekia Jackson? Together and then we made our final cuts like a few days ago. Okay, so
Starting point is 00:06:49 What are your thoughts on your new sparks teammates Cameron Brink and Rekia Jackson? Love them. Cam is going to be very special in the W One thing about Cam is her passing ability is like super underrated. She's a really great passer And then Rekia is just like our little unicorn. Like she can play the wing, she can play in the post. So she's figuring it out, but you know, I've really enjoyed playing with them and being around them and getting to know them. They're awesome. All right. Well, we got faith in the squad, but more importantly, we got faith in you.
Starting point is 00:07:15 We're going to pull up to some games this year. Yeah, when? Be ready. We got some things in the works. We can't go to Long Beach. We had a show today. You see what he said? Because of Gil.
Starting point is 00:07:24 No. Gil, you tonight. We were supposed to be at the game yesterday. Yes. See that's do you see what he said? How did you know do you know? Yes, we had the game. Yes. I missed all my shots cuz y'all weren't there Why you ain't take us? I wasn't invited What Wow Invited she invited but y'all waiting to pull up to crypto, huh? We heard a rumor. Yeah. Low key. Low key.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Low key. Whatever, whatever, whatever. Low key is a little closer. So there is a rumor circulating that we will be in the building next Friday. We finally got the okay from Underdog Fantasy. Y'all better be there. Big bread. Trying to get the court side seats.
Starting point is 00:08:02 We'll see if they approve it. We should be. Apparently that game is sold out. Whatever that means. Anything is possible. Hey, come on. Sold out. Hey.
Starting point is 00:08:10 We with Lex. That's what they said. It's Lex building. Yeah, I need y'all on the court. So we need to make that happen. Hopefully, Gil, you don't get us kicked out. I haven't seen how you act at games. No flip flops.
Starting point is 00:08:23 No flip flops. No flip flops. No flip flops. Can't have the dog flip flop. No flip flops on the court. OK, no flip flops. No flip flops. No flip flops. No flip flops. You can have the dog flip flop. No flip flops on the court. Okay, no flip flops. Thank you. Toes out. Toes out. Put them away.
Starting point is 00:08:31 I want to get in the middle. I want to get in the middle. Yes, sir. And Brandon, you just got back from New York, participating in the Slam 30 festivities, and recently announced a collab with slam and tough crowd Yeah, that is dropping this Friday tough crowd universe. I see you reppin right now. We still haven't got our But I got the slam one yes come in for me so I got our emissions letters brandon But no no he wasn't he wasn't on slam to get one, but you know, that's unnecessary. I wrestling
Starting point is 00:09:03 supported it all 30 years all 30 years worth i don't put the magazine covers on the walls and all that but what does slam meant for the culture of basketball uh i mean it's everything i mean now you know the way social media is kids wouldn't understand like going to a 7-eleven or a gas station to buy that slam magazine every first of the month so and reading about the next high school kid or the next star coming up so slam magazine just kept you you know just kept you in tune with the game and just let it's always let you knew you know like who's next are you sure those sentiments oh yeah I mean I wasn't on the cover but using
Starting point is 00:09:41 slime yeah I was dead they definitely did a spur you know this was after the league to this is like trying to figure out what I was gonna do at the league and all that shit so much respect to slam much respect to brand that you were never in it and we're in the college run there in our member I'm sure you had to do it. You had to be there. Yeah, you had to. Yeah, you had to. You had to be at Slam for college.
Starting point is 00:10:09 No, for sure. You probably wasn't looking at Slam because you was a sports illustrator. You was big time. I was looking, though. You was looking at the little people. Look where they at. Let me see. They ain't do no more fucking photo shoot with me.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I was waiting. Yeah, I'm ready. So we got some potential sad news to report. Inside the NBA is the gold standard for traditional sports media, but the Emmy Award winning show's future is in doubt. TNT Sports is in a heated battle with NBC for the final piece of the NBA's TV rights deal with TNT. Damn, Gil.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Oh. Okay. They couldn't see the writing on the wall. They feed some of... Damn, Gil. Oh. But... Okay. They couldn't see the right and the wrong like three years ago. They feed some of our families, Gil. No, I'm just saying, they couldn't see it three years ago? Oh.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Damn. TNT's contract's set to end after next season, and the NBC's trying to take over their corner. So ESPN, ABC, and Amazon Prime Radio have reportedly already secured their NBA deals for at least the next decade. And on a recent episode of his podcast, Bill Simmons said the NBC deal is already done
Starting point is 00:11:07 and the league is just waiting to make the announcement. So inside the NBA debuted in 1988, become a mainstay for basketball fans, winning 18 sports Emmy Awards. Gil, show some compassion. So what? So they're going to be done? So they're just going to go to NBC. So they got to get rehired, right?
Starting point is 00:11:24 So I think Ernie Stane, Charles has an opt-out in his deal where he can dip if they lose the NBA rights. I mean, they have to. He's staying at TNT. He's not dipping no matter what. What are they going to talk about? They'll probably just repackage it as a... NBC will release their own version of whatever.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Maybe it'll be good, maybe it won't. Two separate shows. Hmm? Basically just two separate shows. No, TNT will be done. TNT will be done. They don't have basketball. They won't have the NBA package anymore.
Starting point is 00:11:51 They can do football. They can do Ernie's thing. That's what I'm saying. Also, TNT does a show. Ernie does everything. He does college. He does everything else. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Oh. He's a real one. He's going down with the ship. TNT basketball general is off TNT. So basically Shaq and... Shaq, Kenny, and Charles. Kenny can probably survive in college. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Chuck and Kenny, I think, still do college basketball shit. They've been doing that for years, too. In a lot of games? Yeah. They basically host a college basketball. March Madness. That's where they get their big money, too.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Yeah, the March Madness. What do y'all think about inside the NBA getting packed up? I know you don't care, but... I don't. Why don't you care? I just want to know. I'm just curious.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Because he has his own show. Have you ever been on his show? He has his own show. Whatever. I mean, they've been outdated for a long time. They're just finding out. They should have been on the swivel about four years ago when podcasts started to take over.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Yeah. Any in particular? It's kind of like the podcast before the podcast. Because they just got to say whatever they wanted on there. Which no other people could do that on TV. But now everyone's doing it on. I mean, it was a great show, though. It was great.
Starting point is 00:13:03 I mean, I loved it. Inside the NBA? Yeah. It was great. I mean, I loved it. Inside the NBA? Yeah. It was funny. It was coming up. It was coming up. It's been a part of our lives for a long time. What, you ain't like it
Starting point is 00:13:11 what, the last couple years? I ain't been watching it since. Since I was like in 12th grade, maybe. Really? What? Inside the NBA? Yeah, TNT?
Starting point is 00:13:20 Wait a second. No, that's not... Yes. Yeah, I thought you were talking about the one that was on NBA TV. No, no, no. TNT. No, no, no. not yes. Yes. Yeah. I thought you're inside NBA? I'm like, no. Will obey. NBA or TNT. Inside stuff might be coming back. Because that was the last time they were in the league, too.
Starting point is 00:13:51 My bad. That's my bad. My bad. No, yeah. No, they're definitely going to be missed. Shit, them niggas are funny as hell, man. That's one of the favorites. They run to the screen.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Yeah, all that. Jack fell off the chair. All of that. Jack fell into the presents and Christmas and all that. Man, this is... So they might be getting packed up, but do you know another basketball show that isn't getting packed up? Us?
Starting point is 00:14:11 Gills Arena presented by Underdog Fantasy. Woo! So come on over, everybody. They thought they could cancel. They can't. They can't. They trying. You know.
Starting point is 00:14:21 They trying. I know Anthony Miracola ain't tripping. Listen, I can... This is why they all should have been known they were going to get packed up at some point. When athletes start podcasting and then the show itself start using the people's podcasts...
Starting point is 00:14:42 Content. ...and content to respond on their platforms means they're behind the eight ball on it. Because at some point, it's like, why do we need the second hand? Let's just go straight to the creators of it. So you're getting beat to the information all over the board and they're just in reaction mode.
Starting point is 00:15:04 And that's usually what's been happening. They're getting beat to the information all over the board and they're just in reaction mode. Yup. Yup. Right? And that's usually what's been happening. So... Prop Joe found that out the hard way when you tried to make Marlo the son. And it's like this. When you're late to the party, you start to see where the music is really coming from.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Right? And you're like, damn, man, we just heard that. We just heard that. And then you come here, you're kind of embarrassed because it's like, y'all, we know y'all still in they shit now. So why would we keep coming to you? Just because y'all been here too long. Let's go to the new party.
Starting point is 00:15:39 For us, we just got to make a bigger venue so we can fit everybody in because they used to be the big crowds. And that's why they still think they can take our content and redo our takes. But now it's like we build a bigger venue for the crowd to come into. Now we can hold our own parties, and we ain't got to worry about them no more. So if it is the end, NBC taking over. NBC last broadcast NBA games from 1990 to 2002 during the peak of the MJ era in the Shaq and Kobe Lakers. Three-peat, some of us on this couch
Starting point is 00:16:09 are old enough to remember those days. Some may be a little younger. Is that that dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun? John Tesh round ball rock. Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. Oh, let's play basketball. No, I'm just kidding. What are your favorite memories from the NBA on NBC, Eric Gill,
Starting point is 00:16:26 or do you not care? What was that again? Oh my god. You wasn't rocking with the NBA on NBC? Marv Albert. Marv Albert. I'm sorry, but listen, listen. Marv Albert.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Listen, I don't want to reminisce about a show that's getting canceled. Oh well, goddammit. We're reminiscing about it. You should have hired some younger people in your staff. Perhaps a three-time All-NBA player? No, it had nothing to do with me. I mean, if you're all 60, 50, 70, and there's a new wave of stuff that's coming up, how do you update if you're not listening to them?
Starting point is 00:17:01 They're the ones, the TikTokers and all of this, they're moving the wave. So if you're not replacing your staff with younger people, then you get replaced by the younger generation. Yes. That's just how it happens. But you have to listen to the youth
Starting point is 00:17:15 because the youth is the movement. We're wise. They have the information. Yes. Dinosaurs used to rule the earth. You said Marv Albert? Say it again? Dinosaurs used to rule the Earth. You said Marv Albert? Say it again? Dinosaurs used to rule the Earth.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Used to. Used to. Something younger came along. Now you can go see him at Jurassic Park. Marv Albert is a freak, bro. You said Marv Albert. It was the 90s, bro. He was turning up.
Starting point is 00:17:39 He was biting on that one. For three. Marv was good. All I know was for three. For three. We got know is for three. For three. We got eight more minutes than Michael Jordan. Where you going? Are you cutting off the chat? I'm about to say,
Starting point is 00:17:53 girl, you can't dip. You cannot leave. You're on that. They don't want to see me anyway. They're like, why don't you just put the bottle on Lexi? They just want me to do this right here. They don't even want to see me. We got a minimum minutes requirement before we can get our bread, so you know that, right? We got to hit that minimum.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Let's keep it moving. After an underwhelming performance on Tuesday, Bronny was solid in his second scrimmage at the NBA Draft Combine Wednesday with his pops watching in the stands. So Bronny finished the game with a team-high 13 points and 23 minutes of action, going 4 for 10 from the field, 2 for 5 from 3. Hey, Bronny finished the game with a team-high 13 points in 23 minutes of action, going 4 for 10 from the field, 2 for 5 from 3. Hey, Bronny.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Out there looking huff. So like I mentioned, LeBron was there sitting next to Lakers GM Rob Palenka. Lord. And there have been reports of some team interest in Bronny. You see it. Oh, my gosh, I love that so much. Why you looking like your daddy? But when y'all look at Bronny, I know we talked about him earlier in the week,
Starting point is 00:18:52 coming back with a performance like this. Rashad, I see you have the Black Air Forces. I'm just pointing out to you how Black Air Force was. What do you think about this whole situation? And do you feel like Bronny can get it done in the league? Can he get it done in the league? I mean, I stand on all of my statements about when you're a college basketball player, you got to be one of those guys, dominate, you know?
Starting point is 00:19:29 Get that experience and knowing how it feels like to be one up on everybody that's in your position. I feel like he should do that. You know, being able to show your competition, at least your peers, that you are elite. You know, and then I think going into the league at this point right now, trying not to be behind his dad is going to put him at a discrepancy because he hasn't been dominant. Like if you, like Austin Rivers, like him coming into the league, he was dominant. Like he was dominant in college, he was dominant in high school. It was only up to him to show that he could be dominant in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:20:05 So he didn't have no pressure up until he played for his dad. So, like, Bronny is like, now he has to prove all these things while being in the NBA. Prove what? Well, don't you think it might be easier? Because he's not going to have that. I mean, outside of just being LeBron James' son, he doesn't really have that pressure to go in the league and completely dominate like Austin Rivers did.
Starting point is 00:20:23 He don't have experience. That's what I'm saying. So, like, why can't he just go in and just feel it out? Experience of what though? Like a regular rookie. What do you want him to be? An experienced basketball player who hasn't played. He is an experienced basketball player. What 18 year old Kobe did?
Starting point is 00:20:38 He looked like a pro to me. What experience did Kobe have? That shit that he was doing over there, he was never playing at that USC like that stuff. He was doing at the combine. He has never been doing that Yes, I'm on it. Don't matter. It's just the NBA Well, what is it combine so brothers? I can't find is like practicing These dudes are you know, you didn't even stop. He didn't even play in the combine. I didn't have to of course I was that good So you have to go do it all that stuff you don't know what it is the
Starting point is 00:21:16 play Okay, yeah, you play You have to prove that you can play. Yes. Oh, they had the scrimmages for guys who had to prove Kids that had to prove not a bunch of walk-ons and in college basketball That's all the people trying to come into the ground the college is it I think wouldn't have to be out there scrimmaging What basketball is not in that's my point in shape right now. This is harder than college. Yeah, what's hard about it? Everybody's trying to make it to the NBA right here. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:21:47 What do you mean? What does it mean? It makes it harder than college? That means everybody out there trying to compete. It's either I'm going to the draft or I'm going back to school. Yeah. Or I'm going overseas. What's the difficulty there?
Starting point is 00:21:58 Playoff basketball? What's the difficulty there? He's got options. There's no pressure when you got options. He's never played in it. That's why he's got option Nobody's going to the NBA not talking about trying to go to the NBA. He doesn't play good there You know what he can do what go back to college? Okay, that's not what he wants to do though, but he has that option
Starting point is 00:22:20 Because he doesn't know no he doesn't was that but he has two weeks to decide if he wants to go back or not Bro look like a whole different player right choose any team He wants to play on and go a whole nother year and get some more experience and then come out next year So if you saw the look it look fun enough LeBron James son, you wouldn't be impressed by how he played in the car No, no, I tell him go back to school. No, he wouldn't. Come on. You'd tell him to move around? Y'all want me to have the same opinion y'all have. Bro, Ronnie Evans is the same thing I ever told him that didn't play.
Starting point is 00:22:50 By the time I got to the combine and all this. You know what the funny part is? Not impressive. What, are you hitting wide open shots? He had the second best hit. There's guys in the NBA who can't hit wide open shots right now. We watch it every day. But we just want to add another one?
Starting point is 00:23:03 But he is hitting. You said he's hitting. You just want to add another one? He is making shots. You said he's hitting. You just want to add another one? He is making shots. You just said he's hitting wide open shots. So, no, you're not adding someone that doesn't hit wide open shots. It's not impressive. He had the second best three rounds or 25 spots.
Starting point is 00:23:14 He had the second best in all of it. So, if there's 100-something kids there, he had the second best. Top six vertical, if I'm not mistaken. Top six vertical. Like, he has an NBA body. He's a guard. And how many guards his height have 40-inch vertical? Nobody's trying to say,
Starting point is 00:23:32 Brian, he didn't go in here average 30. But if they're comparing him to guys like Pat Bev at the most Drew Holiday and stuff like that, that's a good one. Like, bro, that's over 10 years. What's the rush? He said, what's the rush? I'm at, what's the rush? You said, what's the rush? I'm at, what's the rush?
Starting point is 00:23:47 I mean, I agree with that. I'm ready. It doesn't have to rush. What do you mean? It ain't no rush. I'm ready. If your comparison is Drew Holiday and Pat Bev, and you can go and get better and have your comparison be Kyrie Irving,
Starting point is 00:24:00 like, why not stay and get better? Because you're going to get that in the NBA. You're going to get the NBA trainer to train you. But I'm ready now, though. I've been ready. I've been around my dad my whole life. I've been around all this. He's been getting ready.
Starting point is 00:24:13 He wants to get out of that shadow, clearly. He makes it known. Then stay in college and get better. How are you getting better? You're getting better at college. He looks better now. He looks better than he was at USC. The shit that he's doing now, he wasn't even doing at USC.
Starting point is 00:24:25 He wasn't even trying to float. He wasn't even doing none of that. College basketball. College basketball. The machine. And those zone in the NBA. Who told him to go to USC? Huh?
Starting point is 00:24:36 Who told him to go to USC? Himself. He did. He's a grown man. He's a grown man. He made his own decision. No. No.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Going to USC is generally a mistake. He averaged the same shit I averaged when I went to Europe that one year. Got to the combine, got to the workouts, killing, top ten. You never know what could happen, bro. Never know. But that shit look all right, what he doing right now. I'm not saying he got to go out there, but he look way more comfortable than he did over there. Hey, I guarantee you.
Starting point is 00:25:02 The game is way more wider. If we would have said this before we seen it, do you think he's going to play in a combine? We would have all said no. Say it again. If we said, do you think Bronny will play in a combine and go against all those kids in a combine?
Starting point is 00:25:18 We would have all said no. He'd just do private workouts by himself so he doesn't get embarrassed. I would have never thought he would come out. Why not? Because you barely played and you averaged like five points a game. So what? That's just a no.
Starting point is 00:25:30 It's a lot of people. It's an automatic no. There's a lot of people that average five. There's some people that are overseas. They come over and average five or seven. But that's the combine score. For players like that to show what they have. To show their NBA players are not-
Starting point is 00:25:40 Show that they're NBA players. The combine is a resume trajectory where you show if you're ready for the NBA after you have a resume in college. You have a college resume and you come out for the draft to see where you place amongst everyone else and your peers. If you haven't played, what are you coming out here for? I'm just trying to figure out what everybody's expectations of Ronnie is. There's no lottery picks out there playing. This is what you just said. Because the lottery picks are there.
Starting point is 00:26:10 They never said that he was going to be lottery, though. So he could be first round, though. What's so funny is this is the funny part. The Matrix, Sean Marion, was going to be a second round pick when he came out. He went to combine and tore it up as a lottery. I believe it. So Rashad, I understandad understand exactly the same, but I will point out I'll even Hunter Steven I had Steven Hunter on my team and all I said is like rebound up throw it up the court
Starting point is 00:26:34 I'm throwing it all he did was just running dunk running dunk the whole time Picked what 15 he got picked 15 because of it So I will say I understand exactly what you're saying in terms of having to have that resume coming in but it's not unheard of to see guys with low numbers like that I'll give you an example Peyton Watson freshman year UCLA 3.3 points per game 3 rebounds
Starting point is 00:26:55 coming off the bench I'm not saying LeBron and Johnny Hussain who had the resume didn't get drafted but if they see potential in a young kid, and this is bigger than Bronny. I just feel like you got this energy because he's LeBron James' kid. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:27:13 That's the only reason. That's a good thing that you guys can point that out, right? It's easy for you guys to point that out. Because we're talking about LeBron's kid, right? Right? But I'll put this out there. When my second year in college, I could have came out, get top 10. I could have been top 15.
Starting point is 00:27:31 I averaged 20. You would have been. So I said to my advisor, who was William Wesley, I do not want to be another player. I want to be top three. You got to go back to school, Sean, and win a championship and make it undeniable. I had to be top three. You got to go back to school, shot and win a championship and make it undeniable. I had to make a decision. What kind of player do I want to be? Do I want to be a player amongst all these other players who can mix me up
Starting point is 00:27:55 and have me just be another Johnny Juzang or Steven Hunter? Or do I want to be elite? I want to be elite. I have a bigger standard for Bronny, not just because of his dad, because of his ability and his potential. Don't waste that just based on you trying to rush into this situation
Starting point is 00:28:11 because everybody wants you to be there. You can hone your skills, you can get better as a player, and you can dominate in college, and you can have your college career be dominant enough to say, if I don't even make it in the NBA, I can look back and be like, yo, my college
Starting point is 00:28:26 career was elite. My college career was elite. My jersey's in the rafters. All of that stuff. But if I don't do that and something doesn't go right in the NBA, I'm just another fucking... So you think he can still have a historic college career even though the way
Starting point is 00:28:42 his freshman season went? If y'all saying that he went to the wrong school And he didn't get to play and all that shit pick the right school the NIL allows you now To go into the portal and say I want to go to a team where I can actually play and hone in my skills Okay, so your sophomore year after you average 20 you would have went top 10 you William West convinced you to go back to school to win a championship for you to be top three. You went back to school, won a championship. Were you top three?
Starting point is 00:29:10 Nope. Okay. And then the guy. You want to know why I wasn't top three? No, no, no, no, no, no. Then the guy. I think you need to know why I wasn't. The guy who didn't have a, the guy who did not have a resume.
Starting point is 00:29:19 The guy who did not have a college resume. He was a freshman who had all this upside. He was young because you're a junior at this point. So that means as a junior, they done depicted all your flaws. As a sophomore, they don't really have any flaws on you. So top 10, top 10, top five. As a junior, they get to pick at you more.
Starting point is 00:29:37 So they pick a freshman who was what? The third, fourth option on the team, right? Williams, what did he get picked? Two, three. Second. Yeah. The younger you are, I know you hate to hear it hear what the younger you are the better your chance that's just that's just the nba fact unless you're averaging 35 30 points as a junior or senior, they're going to go after the youth.
Starting point is 00:30:10 If you look at the top 14 picks, they're all 18, 19 years old. That's what they want. Every year, there's no change. The best player that was 21 and over in the last five, six years is Rui. There's only been four picks that's been 22 and up. Everybody else is 18, 19, 20. That's who they want. Who went number one that year? John Mayne?
Starting point is 00:30:34 No, the year you're talking about Marvin went number two. Who went number one? Okafor? I don't know. You don't know, right? But you knew that. You knew that, but you don't know this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Yeah, you knew everything. But to come down to me, you know that. You don't know this. I everything would it come down to me you you know that you know, I know what a number two pick was Andrew Bogut was number one. Okay. Well, you know what year he was and you don't know what year he was either. Okay? He was older. He's Australian. So we don't know Okay, he was older. Yeah Yeah, he was Utah. Yeah, right so so so the point that I'm making is when I had to go back to solidify Where I wanted to be picked. Yeah, I was there number three to Portland You know who they picked Oh Martel Webster, you know why they picked him. All right cuz my coach
Starting point is 00:31:22 Did not have good things to say about me. Montee Webster, 19, him? But do you think because... But did you cause that? Or like because... It's because at the time all of the players in the draft were seasoned college players. Montee Webster, 19.
Starting point is 00:31:39 No, but how was your relationship with your coach, though? My relationship was what it was. Regardless of what it was, I was good enough to go top three where I was predicted to go. Bogut was 20, I think, when he was drafted. That's the point. He was 20? That's always been my point. My point is he can establish himself to have a resume where it's undeniable to pick him
Starting point is 00:31:55 in the top three. I don't feel like what you're saying is wrong. Why can't you pick it out? Because my coach did. Not anybody else. Bogut was 20. He got to pick the right school. I didn't pick the right school.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Bogut was 20? So why didn't you leave? I didn't leave. I can't you get out? No, because my coach did. Bogut was 20. He got to pick the right school. I didn't pick the right school. Bogut was 20. So why didn't you leave? Because I knew I was going to solidify myself in the legacy of North Carolina. But that was a different time too. So if you left, you had to sit out for a whole last year. I mean, yeah, I sat out. I made that decision because I was going to leave. But you don't think if Bronny goes to the draft, gets drafted, and he's on the two-way and he's developed,
Starting point is 00:32:27 like, I think he'll be able to develop faster in the G League than he would be able to go back to college. No, no, but I'm just saying, like, you know, if he gets drafted, whatever, like, he'll, I mean... Like, can you say the other day, G League kind of feels like a graveyard now? I know what you're saying from the standpoint of development, but it's also potential for a dude to get lost. I not for him he'll sell out like they'll come watch him
Starting point is 00:32:47 play in the g league for a couple games i'm just saying like just to get if you don't think he's ready now i'm not going back to college though i'd rather go to the g league or whatever be on a two-way come up and down and whatever for the first year i'm not we're not looking at brony to be like man he gonna come in and go for 30. It's just oh he can play though, but why not though? Why not have that expectation for him where he could create that expectation for us to have? Stay in college and be that nigga where we can be like yo Ronnie's about to come out Because I don't want to do that. Yeah, because college is not in that house because I don't think colleges in that household sometimes That household ain't reading that household ain't reading college?
Starting point is 00:33:25 Sometimes you're a want to. You know who my dad is? Sometimes you're a want to. Ain't got nothing to do with it. Man, listen. College ain't good enough for this household. If he doesn't plan on staying to get his degree, what is he staying there for?
Starting point is 00:33:36 To get better. He can get better in the league. Can he? Yes. Yes. It's the best league. It's the best league. Are you kidding?
Starting point is 00:33:43 There's no other league that you can get better in. Is the NBA a development league? Now it is? Yeah, that's what it is now That's what we're doing for young. It is now when we came up. Yes We don't have a life expectancy of three years now Yeah, when you when you come out at 22. Yeah, and then you yeah, you're you're yeah, and then you're 25 Yeah, I'm in at 22. You come in at 18, and your expectancy is 21? Yeah. We got talked.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Six years. Yeah. A team is invested in a six-year project for every single player that's under 18. Yeah, we see it all the time. I can name some players right now. I mean, when we bring up the Donovan Mitchell. You can name some players who got paid because they're three years, four years into the league. Bring up a name that we don't know about that didn't have an established name under 18
Starting point is 00:34:27 Or under 19 that's still in the league right now talking. We're talking about That's it's still in the league right now. Yo kids heated. We didn't know nothing about him Came in at 18 We can say what rum we can say I mean shit every minute 18, but Ingram with the cop Wait, can they come in at 18? I don't think they came in at 19. No more. Yeah, no Jason Tatum came in at 18, but Ingram went to college. Wait, can they come in at 18? I don't think they can come in at 18 no more. Wait, no, Ingram, wait. Jason Tatum came in at 18. Wait, hold on. 18, so you're saying elite names.
Starting point is 00:34:50 I'm talking about the ones that's under the radar. Under, under, so the second rounders. I'm talking about the guys. I mean, how old was Yoki? That's been in the league for six years. Yoki has an established name. No, Yoki's just older. Oh, he was?
Starting point is 00:35:00 Okay. Yoki has an established name. He doesn't have an established game. But you said name. He doesn't have an established name. His game is defense. First of all, they love they love his defense. So and and he could shoot the three So there's I don't know. I feel like if he wasn't LeBron James sign people be like, oh, this is a jetty Can create a exactly this is exactly Yeah, well it came off the bench was 19 when he came in but he was lottery, but he was what he was nice lottery
Starting point is 00:35:25 He came off the bench, but he was good average seven nice 19 is why he got there were there were some other seven coming off then Jason Tatum come off the benches We're gonna another year. Give me another there were some other factors. I play was that Levine during this Because the father played a son that was their their power squad they put up I cool, but he came off Seven I understand don't let him don't let him Don't let him Let him do that to you, bro To be right let me tell you the combine if he wasn't Ronnie, uh, you'd be a gem
Starting point is 00:36:00 He would be all I know That college shit don't live in that household. So that's cool and all yeah, you did your college USA USA thing But you know, we got bigger plants. We want to see what I want. You're coming into the NBA I don't care about your college resume. Yeah, what is gonna be your NBA resume? So if you average I just need to see your potential, right? You got more potential than Michael Jordan kids, right? You got not even about no it's three years So like he's like it brawny is 19 years old three years three years. He'd be 22 Hey, what I'm saying is three years he'd be 22
Starting point is 00:36:33 That means I have him for three years to try to make him great versus someone who's coming out of college at the same age I know what you look like at 22. Right? You're coming into the NBA at 22. You're at the combine at 22. Versus I can get this 18, 19 year old kid and work him out for three years. I don't know what he's going to be at 22 but I know he's going to be better than you.
Starting point is 00:36:57 And he's holding his own though. He's going to be better than you at that same age. Ain't like he playing bad. That's what they do. We saw the same thing in the McDonald's game. A lot of people thought Bronny shouldn't have made the game, but it wasn't like he came out there looking like a bum. He did good. Bro, he can play, though. It's the IQ, though.
Starting point is 00:37:10 I think we're missing, like, bro, what are you... Yes, he's good. Like, we're looking at... What you want him to be, LeBron James? He can play basketball. Like, he has IQ. He don't really be out there doing too much. He just play the game.
Starting point is 00:37:21 And he's still young, bro. Just wait till you're 21. That's all they're going off of. He's young. Just wait till you're 21, bro. That's all they're going. He's young. So, he's still young bro. Wait, just wait till you're 21. That's all they're going off of. He's young. Just wait till you're 21 bro. That's all they're going. He's young. So let's extend this out.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Trust me. Trust me. Let's extend this out. But like this. How many players, how many players has eaten? How old is he? His face. How old is he?
Starting point is 00:37:38 Eating? Zach eating? Zach eating is about- Why are you disgusted by a little kid? And this is reality. He's a little kid. I'm a basketball. Zach eating 22 like this. He's a little kid. I'm a basketball. Zach Eady, 22. He's a kid.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Or he just turned 22. Hey, hey, hey. So, what? Hey. That is... Do this, man. It's like the Yenny Yang on this. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Two sides of the couch. Yeah. He wants Eady to be a lottery pick, right? I don't want it. He think he should be, right? He's 22. I'm looking at a 22-year-old in the NBA right now getting compared to Jordan.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Ant-Man. It's 22. What does that have to do with it? This is what it have to do with it. I have a 22-year-old because he came in at 19 looking like the next That that that this is what it have to do with it. I have a 22 year old Because he came in at 19 Looking like the next Michael Jordan that's right and that's in three years. That's in three years looking like the next Michael Jordan So why would I pick a 22 year old in the NBA or just coming out of college?
Starting point is 00:38:39 When this is what this age looks like cuz there's no one else to pick. Yes, I can pick a 19-year-old. There's no one else to pick. I can pick a 19-year-old, get him for three years, and I know he's going to be better than this motherfucker. You can just make a Michael Jordan. No, I know he's going to be better than a 22-year-old. This is not a fucking incubator where you can just, oh, I'm just going to take this kid and make him into something. No, the nigga got Anthony Edwards at Georgia was that guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:04 That's why he at 22 is being compared to Michael Jordan. So who do you think? Zach Eady at 22 played four years. Yeah. Right? He's 7'4". Yes. It took him that time to develop into that.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Yeah. That's why he didn't come out early. Good. Right. So now that he's where he's at, he can't stay in college no more longer. Yeah. Okay. Right?
Starting point is 00:39:24 Okay. So who else are you going to not him not him? He's 22 Is that the only reason you're not gonna pick up his cussies no Hi, the lottery I can get something a lottery no we're talking basketball It's the weakest excuse I've ever heard in my life, then you might as well be talking basketball, but we're not talking birth Easy plan of the combine. Yeah, I don't know if the combine I don't know if he's playing No, because you know, we don't know he won't somebody like him won't play because he'd be scared Let me find out from you. Let me confirm
Starting point is 00:40:07 You know because what if I play like Edie played in the combine and looked horrible. He's done That's me right lottery pace not playing in the car. That's what I'm saying. He's not a lot of So if he goes so the lottery picks can duck smoke But the kids that are trying to fight for that lottery pick got to play. He's there, but he's playing the scrimmages? No matter what they do. But say Bronny played horrible, then everyone would have been like, see, we said, we told you he's not an NBA player. He's not an NBA player, but he played well.
Starting point is 00:40:35 But everyone was like, he didn't play well enough. It just doesn't work like that. When you're a projected draft pick, you sit your ass down and you watch these niggas fight for the scraps. So they're fighting for scraps. They have to fight for it. They have to fight to show the... They have to... Yes, they have to fight.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Then who's going harder? A college kid that's in college or a bunch of kids fighting for scraps? You think your resume... You think niggas give a... You think people care about your resume when you get to the NBA from what you did in college? No.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Not whatsoever. Don't care at all. Nobody care. They don't care if you have a three or you won a championship. Don't nobody... Bro, once you get to that... Once you put that Jerry logo on your chest, don't nobody care what you did at UNC.
Starting point is 00:41:20 You got to prove it, right? You got to prove it, right? Yeah. Yeah. I didn't have a fucking problem proving Yeah. I didn't have a fucking problem proving it. I didn't have a fucking problem showing niggas
Starting point is 00:41:27 I deserve to be here. I didn't have no fucking problem doing it. I don't think a lot of players who play in college have a fucking problem. Six. And you went against everybody?
Starting point is 00:41:38 Like, you didn't duck? Huh? I'm just asking. See, I did 15 workouts. I did 17. You know why you did 15? Damn. Damn.
Starting point is 00:41:50 You know why you did 15? Why? Because you was coming from overseas. They needed to make sure you was proven. So if you would have went to college, they would have had plenty of film and footage to see. They would have been like, oh, we watched that game live. We was there.
Starting point is 00:42:04 We recruited him. He was there. I'm BJ Armstrong watching you in the Maui we watched that game live. We was there we recruited him I'm bj armstrong watching you in the maui invitation tournament. I'm watching you play. I'm like damn. I know I watched that game You're seeing him down your senior year. I mean your junior year. Let's stop talking about me though. You're a junior year No, no, no, so we can show you how how how it's not valued How it's not valued you were a top shooting guard in the country, right? I was the best. Okay, now, who was the second best? Did you play against him? J.J. Riddick.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Did you play against him? J.J. Riddick. He was the second best? J.J. Riddick. Where did he get drafted? What number? I don't know. I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Pulling it up now. J.J. Riddick. Was the second best player as a shooting guard? 11th. 11th in the 2005 draft? 2006. He stayed another year. He went four years. So name someone that came out in the same draft that you faced that was a lottery pick. That was a lottery pick? Nobody. Charlie, a guard? Yeah. Nobody, sir. Shooting guard. He said what? Shooting guard. Okay. That he had to go again?
Starting point is 00:43:05 Mm-hmm. And I'll tell you all the guards I went against, that was lottery. But the point is this. Sure, you play with most of them, guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You play. The point is. Tracy Wright went second.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Anton Wright. Your team has four lotteries? Technically. Yeah, yeah. So my point is this. Yeah, they was cooking. In college. Yeah, they was cooking.
Starting point is 00:43:24 In college. in college. That's crazy. In college, in your position as a stud, you don't necessarily play against another juggernaut in your position. So you getting tested for your position probably won't happen in your college. It happened the whole three years I was playing. I dominated my position. You're talking about the number one student guard because I dominated every shooting guard I went up against.
Starting point is 00:43:48 But who was the other lottery picks? It wasn't about who the other lottery picks were. Who was your competition? There wasn't a need for shooting guards in that draft. That's why I went where I went. Who was your competition is what I'm saying. When you're in college, there's 14 lottery picks. There's 30 teams. Somebody needs a shooting guard. No, no, no, what I'm saying is.'re in college is what there's 14 lottery picks. It's 13 somebody to shoot What I know what I'm saying, that's why they didn't pick what I'm
Starting point is 00:44:09 What I'm saying is there's 14 lottery picks. Yeah out of all college basketball Yeah That means it's not as tough as you think because you're probably you probably played your whole career and probably played against two People in your position that would have been lottery wow so it's what i'm saying that's the way to do so it really diluted it is diluted like that yeah it is so when you ask that's a good way how many how many people did i guard in college basketball that was a lottery pick jason richardson and he wasn't in my position but i had to guard him damn i guarded a lot in college so so what I'm saying is, what your resume is in college don't mean nothing.
Starting point is 00:44:48 When you get to the NBA, they're all NBA players. And I'm going to tell you what. That's crazy. It's just facts. There's no facts about what you just said. So name them. You just gave a whole hypothetical opinion about some shit. That wasn't hypothetical.
Starting point is 00:45:01 Then name them. Name who? I played against Rudy Gay. I played against DeWald Dean. I played against the wild Dean I played against a bunch of motherfuckers who I said your position to guard your glory Like I said the person you're the guys that I who are you and you tested it really doesn't matter It does I guarded I didn't go out. I think guard guys at the two guard position. Yeah, you did No, I didn't I guarded the three guard position. Oh you was guarding Luther head. Who was the two-guard position. Yeah, you did. No, I didn't. I guarded the three-guard position. No, you was guarding Luther Head
Starting point is 00:45:25 who was the two-guard. I was guarding Darren Williams. Was he a lot of? I was guarding... We were both guarding different players, me and Zach Emanuel. I watched the game.
Starting point is 00:45:32 So you were guarding Luther Head. So was Luther Head a lottery? Was Luther Head a lottery? Look, he was watching the game. I actually guarded Dee Brown. Dee Brown? I actually guarded Dee Brown. So was he a lottery? You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. Was he a lottery? actually guarded Dee Brown. So was he a lottery?
Starting point is 00:45:45 You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. Was he a lottery? No. Why does he have to be a lottery? Again. Again. So it's not a hypothetical, sir. It's an actual fact.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Because I'm asking you, how many lottery picks did you play in your position in your junior year? And you can't name one. How did we all of a sudden do the goal post to talk about me so he could feel good about his points? So what I'm... No, no. Y'all just got gotta go one on one
Starting point is 00:46:10 No, because you you were the best so I'm asking you who did you play against because he's talking about Bronnie against So therefore when you come into the NBA that that is your test because college is not your test. College is not your test because you're not really playing against anybody in your position. And you proved it. So, Bronny has a fair chance because when he gets to the NBA or he's going through this Western game, it is all elite players. That is a fact. There's no draft picks in the combine he's going up against right now. So, there are not elite players he's playing against.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Obvious. Those are not the facts. How do you not know? You don't know who's being drafted at what? Yo, don't they do private workouts still? Yes. He's going to go again. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:55 So he's about to. So he did this. So now he's about to go in them workouts and really get to it. So, I mean, we about to see. So we asked the chat. By the way, Johnny Flynn went higher than me in the draft, and he wasn we about to see. So, we asked the chat. By the way, Johnny Flynn went higher than me in the draft, and he wasn't better than me. There's not a lot of guys that were better than you, Brandon.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Give yourself some credit. No, but you said I had to prove myself when I came back. Right? And I came back, and I killed Johnny Flynn in every workout, and he still went higher than me. You had to prove that, though. I did prove it. You couldn't just not work out with Johnny Flynn and then pick you. You had to prove it. No, no, I did. So what I'm saying, he still went top five. Yeah, but you still-
Starting point is 00:47:28 So- That don't mean that he wasn't good, just because you were better than him. Give yourself some credit, bro. Was he good? Yes, he was good. He was very good. So we asked the chat, we asked the chat, is it obvious? 72% said yes. Thank you. I don't know what that means, but we'll keep it moving. What? Is moving is what just the question 72% is that your hey damn is the ain't is it obvious is it obvious that you got a tree you got a you got to come into the NBA prove yourself because your college resume don't worry it's open to
Starting point is 00:48:02 interpretation but the track is bad the track is your college resume don't work? It's obvious. It's open to interpretation, but the chat gets mad when they don't feel like they're a part of the show. College is going to kill you. Enough of the college talk. I'm going back to college. I'm just talking from your example. You just said it. You're going back to college. It didn't mess me up.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Yes, it did. They told you to go back to college. You'd be top three and you didn't go top three, so it messed you up. I still got drafted. We didn't say you wasn't going to get drafted, but you went back because they said you was you'll be top three and you didn't go to high school. It messed you up drafted We didn't say you wasn't gonna get drafted But you went back because they said you was gonna be top three right now and I should have been Mess me up. Yeah dirty word you were Lord and you were with the Portland you Cuz you wanted to be top three. I played with KG. No sales tax in Portland though.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Played with KG. Who had the 10th pick the year before, 2004? You went to that. Let me see it, Gil. Because you would have been top 10 the year before. What pick you got? Is it obvious? 14.
Starting point is 00:49:01 14. So you would have been Cat. Boy, you would have been with LeBron. You would have been with LeBron Okay, okay, okay Now I'm on this side. Now, now. See how it panned out? It panned out the right way. See? He's been part of the whole, it's a whole villain backstory. Yeah, yeah. See, you fucked it up there
Starting point is 00:49:29 and fucked it up there. Now he's a hater. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. This old life is hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. Hate, hate, hate, hate. Sean, you're a man of the people. Well-respected in the break.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Black Air Force One. We know what time it was today. It's 3-V-1 every time I'm on this motherfucker. No, don't do that. Sean, I'll be on your side. You know you. We know what time it was today. It's 3v1 every time I'm on this motherfucker. No, don't do that. You know, you... No, no, no. We didn't talk about this. You said, over your shot. Don't you do that, too.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Oh, you know, I'm here to go all day, baby. You're not like us, nigga. Someone go get him an Emmy right now. Nuh-uh. Let's keep it moving. Let's keep it moving. Let's keep it moving. So, got to talk a little Cavs-Celtics. Celtics were back in Boston for Game 5, facing a Cavs squad missing
Starting point is 00:50:11 Donovan Mitchell, Jared Allen, and Karis Levert. What was left of the Cavs put up a fight to avoid elimination, but Boston delivered the knockout blow to make another trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. Jason Tatum almost dropped a triple-double with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists. He also had four steals, 9 for 16 from the field,
Starting point is 00:50:29 3 for 7 from 3. Al Horford had his best game of the series with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists. So Big Al joins LeBron and Kareem as the only players over 37 with a 20, 15, and 5 playoff game. Derek White had 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 dimes. Jalen Brown finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists.
Starting point is 00:50:49 He only took 9 shots in the game. So the injury-depleted Cavs went out swinging, cutting the deficit to 3 in the fourth quarter, but were no match for the top team in the East. Evan Moby finished with a playoff career high, 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks, going 15 for 24 from the field. Marcus Morris had his best game of the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:51:06 coming off the bench to drop 25 points. He was 5 for 6 from 3. And Darius Garland had 11 points and 9 assists. Are you reading stats from the team that lost? I'm giving you. I'm giving you. I'm hearing 39 and 33 and 29. Story of the game, Gil.
Starting point is 00:51:22 You all see, this is the thing. I'm sorry. Nah, Gil. You all see, this is the thing. But you can't, but see. I'm sorry. Nah, Gil. You not. You ain't not. You was feeling yourself going live,
Starting point is 00:51:29 coming in here. No, I'm just saying. Trying to get friends on my hosting. I'm going to let you finish, man. It was just, it was just confusing.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Me not telling, not giving niggas no warning that we live. I'm just hearing stats of people who just lost the game. You know how. 39, 40.
Starting point is 00:51:43 39, 40. Damn, they lost still. 35, 45. 45, 40. I'm 39, 40. Damn, they lost still. 35, 45. 35, 40. Boop, boop, boop, boop. He had 12 blocks of career high. He lost, dog.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Yo, give me the story of the game. You came in here with the camera live. Didn't warn nobody. Didn't know if I was on your live or not. Feeling yourself.
Starting point is 00:51:59 You're right. Always trying to undermine me on the Lord's Thursday. You're right. But nonetheless, Darius Garland as well, a member of the losing team, had 11 points, 9 assists. He was 4 for 17 from the field.
Starting point is 00:52:13 So with the win, the Celtics reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the third straight season. They've also made the ECF's sixth out of the last eight seasons. So for the Celtics fans on the couch, we'll start with Lexi because you've been in it for a minute. Yeah. How impressive has the Celtics' recent playoff success been despite not winning a title yet in that window? Super impressive.
Starting point is 00:52:35 I'm a Celtics girl through and through no matter what. To be honest, I have not really been watching that many of the games because I've been worried about my season instead. You have been diligent. But you can still lie to people and be like, I'm seeing, I've been locked been watching that many of the games because I've been worried about my season instead. You have been diligent, but you can still lie to people. I'm seeing I've been locked in. No, I'm not even going to lie. Multi-tasking. That's my squad.
Starting point is 00:52:51 I still think Jason Tatum is severely underrated, even though they're on a great team. Watching the highlights, though, and then after playing last night, like, they really don't play no fucking defense at all, but the NBA. She said after playing last night. After playing last night and facing what I was facing defensively, and what we was doing defensively, I'm like, I want to play more like them.
Starting point is 00:53:25 In what aspect? Like, rotations and all that shit? Rotations, spacing, like... Scrambling. Like,
Starting point is 00:53:31 we be locking up. Those out. Like, till the end of the shot clock. Y'all be hacking. Y'all be hacking. Y'all be hacking.
Starting point is 00:53:39 No, we do. Y'all be hacking. And they let it happen. I thought I was playing a football game last night. Like, they gotta, they gotta,, they got to let us loosen up. Even I was watching the games the other night, like, just hacking, like, super physical. They got to loosen that up.
Starting point is 00:53:56 You got to get tough out there. What? You got to get tough. I am. We are tough. I mean, you see, we are tough. I mean, we still putting points up on the board and stuff which made me happy But sorry, this is about the Celtics, but I was just watching the highlights like damn, you know, we move so much damn space
Starting point is 00:54:14 You talk man, and we just have some free space like that I was like 25 Got my I got some wiggle now, so now I'm realizing that there's not a lot of space. So I just got to figure that out. You got to make that space. But you talked about Tatum getting disrespected. How did you feel about him finishing sixth in MVP voting? Crazy. I had him.
Starting point is 00:54:39 I picked him winning. I had him winning when we all put in our guesses when the season started. I had he was going to win. No. But I don't know. Like, we always talk about they move the goalposts constantly about what's considered MVP. Like, best player on the best team. Like, okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:57 It shifted. It has shifted. Can I ask you a question? Is he playing like the MVP right now? I don't know. I haven't watched it. You don't know, right? I haven't watched it.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Do you think he's playing like the MVP right now? Is the Joker playing like the MVP right now? I don't know. I don't watch it. You don't know, right? I don't watch it. Rashad, do you think he's playing like the MVP right now? Is the Joker playing like the MVP right now? It don't matter. It's not about postseason. But it's just about play. Regular season award. I'm just talking about play. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:14 When you're playing as a player, you've been nominated for these awards, and you're continuing your play, and we look at the way you're playing now and say, that's the fucking MVP. He's playing like the guy who won the award Yes, and Taylor is not playing like that. I mean compared to Joker no and no I think I don't focus on getting that ring cuz look Lucas still playing SGA still playing
Starting point is 00:55:36 Neither one of them to me are playing like MVP's they're like very very good players But Joker's playing like the MVP He's killing experience and he's killing the guy who? They're playing like very, very good players, but Joker's playing like the MVP. He's killing. Experience. And he's killing the guy who, whether people respect it or not, got the defensive player of the year. And he's roasting his ass.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Bro, we told y'all when he missed that game it was going to go downhill. But for the MVP to roast the defensive player of the year on a regular basis like that, it's deserving of the award. That's because he missed the game. He felt like, oh, you think you could miss a game? Oh, you think you that good to miss a game because you had a kid? Bet. Watch this.
Starting point is 00:56:11 It was just your first kid. Watch this. It's just a... No, I'm just kidding. All right, bet. I'm supportive of him going to the gym. Bet, I mean... No, that's fine, but bet.
Starting point is 00:56:18 Since you think, all right, bet. He already witnessed the child. Exactly. Gil, he had to get the skin to skin and establish a relationship. The baby was already here. Yeah, yeah. Shit. child. Exactly. Gil, he had to get the skin to skin and establish a relationship. The baby was already here? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Shit. He had to swaddle. So Yoke is looking at that as, nigga, oh, they say the baby came out of that. I thought she was having... Nah.
Starting point is 00:56:36 He can't get his first swaddle, though, Gil? You know how important that is. I'm about to get y'all out of here. Okay, that makes things a little different, but I still respect him going to do that for his family We not respect family no more Yeah, we do respect family respect family Do let the man go be with his and that and that's what I'm saying is you disrespecting a player like that at that level
Starting point is 00:56:55 I mean you can miss a game your family because of something like that Like you said he go he give us a beach. Hope you know what I did Well, I wasn't real I like yoga said he go he give us a beach. I'll be listen to it twice. I thought it was very admirable. Let's see what he's going to do. He's going to take it. I'm heavy on Twitter. I got to check the handles now. And they won.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Who cares? I know you're going to figure it out. That's fake. They won. Our other resident Celtics fan, lifelong since about seven months ago. How impressive has the Celtics' recent playoff success been despite not winning a title? Not impressive at all.
Starting point is 00:57:50 What? Three straight Eastern Conference Finals trips, six in the last eight seasons, not impressive? This one is probably the least impressive out of all of them, because I think all the other ones they had more formidable opponents. The players were at least halfway. I will say it's giving cakewalk right now. Yeah, it's giving cakewalk. So it's hard to say if they're being tested yet right now with the team that they got.
Starting point is 00:58:10 And even Jason saying last night, like, they've been here before. They know what to expect. But everyone's falling down that's been in front of them. Like, even Donovan, Karis LeVert, Jared Allen all went down in the last game. This is crazy. It's like, yo. Okay. Oh, shit.ovan, Karis LeVert, Jared Allen all went down in the last game. This is crazy. It's like, yo. Okay. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:58:27 Oh, shit. Oh, shit. I'm scared. Say those names again. We might lose. He's 9 and 9, nigga. Oh, we might lose. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:58:39 I always appreciate a good one. They went down. Oh, shit. It was like the names he said. I'm like, wait a minute. Whoa. I mean, I will be talking about the Bucks, but whoa. But where the fuck they at?
Starting point is 00:58:53 They at home with you, huh? Beacon nose. All right. We can calm that shit right on down. No, we're not. Okay. Back to the winning squad. All right?
Starting point is 00:59:03 Back to the niggas who winning. All right? So they just niggas who are winning. All right? So they just ain't been battle tested. I just think that they playing the prima donna role right now. And looking at Joker and looking at whoever it is, Luka or Joker, y'all going to have your motherfucking work cut out. Brent, how impressive has the Celtics' recent success been? Jason Tatum's run has been very successful.
Starting point is 00:59:25 Three Eastern Conference finals. Celtics recent success been? Jason Tatum's run has been very successful. Three Eastern Conference finals. He's got five in seven years. He's got five. I mean, five of them. Five in seven. Yeah, three in a row. But he's been to the finals. I think we was in the chat and he was saying that he was trying to compare Jason Tatum
Starting point is 00:59:40 and Donovan Mitchell. I think this right here is like the reason why you should never do that. I think it's blasphemy. Why? Blasphemy. It's blasphemy that you put Jason Tatum and Donovan Mitchell on the same, like you tried to compare them.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Why not? Because we're looking at it. What, the teams? Different teams? No, we're just looking at his success. Cleveland Cavaliers compared to the Boston Celtics? Jason Tatum is a first-team All-NBA. So that means he was the best player in his position.
Starting point is 01:00:07 Uh-huh. They play two different positions. No, they kind of play the same. He plays the three. He plays the three. Two. I don't even mention the six-three. Okay, whatever.
Starting point is 01:00:15 You put it in the chat. You said they were comparable. Yeah. Right? They're not. They are. No, they're not. They can't even get over the hump.
Starting point is 01:00:23 It's the team, bro. We're comparing players or teams. I'm comparing when Jason Tatum first came in. It's the team, bro. We're comparing players or teams. I'm comparing when Jason Tatum first came in. He averaged 13, 17. I'm looking at the development from here. Same development. No, different. They both averaged the same for career.
Starting point is 01:00:37 But not coming in, though. Jason Tatum had to take. I think Jason Tatum came off the bench. Does that mean that Donovan's better because he averaged more? You said what? Does it mean that Donovan's better because he averaged more? He didn what? Does that mean that Donovan's better because he averaged more? He didn't have to take that route. No, no, Donovan isn't better. Donovan isn't the number one option.
Starting point is 01:00:49 He's not, that's why I'm saying it's blasphemy. He's not even the number one option. You compare him to Jason Tatum. Who's the number one option on Cleveland? Huh? Who's the number one option on Cleveland? Nobody. They're just a great team.
Starting point is 01:00:57 They're just a good team. Just a bunch of role players. So Donovan Mitchell's a role player. Yeah, he's the number two. Who's the number one on Cleveland? They don't have one. How is he number two? Well, you said he averages the same.
Starting point is 01:01:09 When it averages for his career... So let's talk Donovan Mitchell. 23 and seven? Let's talk Donovan Mitchell. If Jason Tatum was on Cleveland, he would... Might have a better chance. Brandon, you got us here. Let's talk about Donovan Mitchell.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Missed the last two games with a calf injury, but averaged 30 points, five rebounds, five assists for the series on 48-35-82 shooting splits. For his career, Spiders averaged 28 points, five rebounds, five assists in the playoffs, but has never advanced past the second round. Brandon, do you believe Donovan Mitchell is a true number one option? No, he's not the vocal point on the championship team. That's all.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Great player. Probably a great guy off the court and everything, but he's's not the vocal point on the championship team. That's all. Great player, probably a great guy off the court and everything, but he's just not the vocal point. Being a great guy off the court doesn't make you a killer on the court either. Okay. So he's not a killer on the... No, no, no. He's a killer, but he's just not that type of killer. What type of killer do you want him to be? With the chop your head off killer? Yeah. Or the manslaughter accidentally like OJ or Jeffrey Donner which kind of killer you talking about OJ oh they not here no more just good moment shit come on man we debate in here no no no I am but I just feel like okay seven years in right then I looked
Starting point is 01:02:24 at that draft class right I looked at that draft class, right? I looked at the draft class, and when I'm looking at the draft class, I'm looking at certain people that's in that draft class, and you've got guys like Malik Monk. I think Malik Monk is a better player than Donovan Mitchell. Just off the fact, if you look at the stats, Malik Monk is averaging 15 points and five assists, and he's only getting about 26 minutes. So if he averaged 34 minutes, what the hell do you think he would be averaging in his numbers?
Starting point is 01:02:54 So let's give you the stat man, stat man. No, I'm just saying, these are the same people that's in the same class. Give you the stat man. And then we got Darrington Fox, same, seven years, right? Darrington Fox. I mean, no, if you go look at the numbers, if these guys are getting
Starting point is 01:03:07 the same type of opportunity that he's getting, what would they numbers be? I'm looking at the numbers right now. That's fine. You know what this is? What?
Starting point is 01:03:13 Jason Tatum, 23.1 regular season stats per game. Right. Donovan Mitchell, 24.8. That means that's more. Statman? All right, let's go
Starting point is 01:03:23 rebounds for a game. Jason Tatum at seven. Donovan at four. That means that's more. Statman? All right, let's go rebounds for a game. Jason Tatum at seven, Donovan at four. That means he has more rebounds. Jason Tatum has more rebounds. Donovan Mitchell, 4.6 assists per game. Jason Tatum, 3.5. This is seven years together, right? Donovan Mitchell and Jason Tatum both are five-time All-Stars.
Starting point is 01:03:45 And total points. Yeah, Donovan Mitchell and Jason Tatum both for five-time all-stars. Uh-huh and Yeah, keep total points. Mm-hmm total points eleven thousand eight hundred fifty two versus 11,619. Uh-huh. No remember Me and you are having this conversation so we don't let this nigga come over here No, we're having a conversation. He feels without the conversation, right? What's the difference between the two again?
Starting point is 01:04:16 One plays in a system, and the other one just plays, just does whatever he wants. Which one is which? Hey. Which one is which? Which one is which? One is two years older, too, I heard. Which one is which? Who plays in the system and who don't?
Starting point is 01:04:27 Jason Tatum plays in the system. Okay. So that's why he can't do that. If he was outside of that system, he would be doing that. I just said Malik Monk is better player than Donovan Mitchell. He just don't get the opportunity. How tall is Jason Tatum? He's 6'8". He's 6'8"?
Starting point is 01:04:41 Yeah. I thought he was 6'10". They have the same stats, but one's two years younger. In the draft. How tall is Jason Tatum? He's 6'8". He's 6'8"? Yeah. I thought he was 6'10". They have the same stats but one's two years younger. So that means... In the draft. How tall is Jason Taylor? He's 6'8". It says right here.
Starting point is 01:04:51 His draft... He'll claim 6'10", but I don't know if that's true. No, it's 6'8". It says right here. In his draft, he was 6'8". With shoes on, that's with the shoes off. I can't help it if they... Malik...
Starting point is 01:05:00 Hold on, hold on, hold on. Malik Munkus... He keeps doing that. How tall is Bronny? Bronny, measuring with no shoes, I think 6'1 1⁄2. And then what is he with shoes on? I would say 6'3 1⁄2. Okay, so they...
Starting point is 01:05:11 I don't know how big is his... So Jason Tatum is 6'8. If he's wearing still level. 6'8 and Donovan Mitchell is 6'3. He's 6'3 with a shoe? No. Donovan Mitchell was 6'1 and then 6'3, so he's Bronny. So Bronny's the same size.
Starting point is 01:05:22 So he's Donovan Mitchell was 6'8. And Brinson. If Donovan Mitchell was 6'8". Oh, this is hypothetical now. Brandon, if Donovan Mitchell was 6'8", what kind of player would be a better player for you if he was 6'8"? No, it'd be the same thing. All right, so if Jason Tatum was 6'1", what kind of player do you think he'd be? I feel like Jalen Winston. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Hypotheticals, dog. You can't even prove it. We talk hypotheticals every single day. We can prove once two years younger. Brandon, can you answer the question?
Starting point is 01:05:52 What kind of player would Jason Tatum look like if he was 6'3"? I don't know. I'm not comparing heights. So you're going to let him answer for you? No, no, I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:05:59 No, listen. Let's go Malik Monk. Malik Monk is 6'3". So we don't do hypotheticals no more, Brandon? No, we're not going to argue him. Prove a point. Didn't we do a whole Allen Iverson conversation
Starting point is 01:06:10 on hypotheticals or how much he would average if he played in today's game? We sat here and did a whole hypothetical. Allen Iverson is a different breed. Do you see how these niggas... Allen Iverson is a different breed. You see how these niggas... We're talking hypotheticals". We're talking hypothetical.
Starting point is 01:06:25 And what did I say? We're talking hypothetical. I'm done with the hypotheticals because you can't prove them. But they're fun to discuss, man. Yeah, I know. They're fun. So, Brandon.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Here's a fact. So, Brandon. Here's a fact, Brandon. No matter what stat he says, they're comparable. One is two years younger. Who's younger? Who you think?
Starting point is 01:06:44 Jason Taylor? Yeah Yeah, he can sit there without one's two years younger with the same stats that's the difference one What kind of player would if Jason Taylor was seven foot seven? What type of player would he be? Huh? If he weighed three hundred and sixty2 pounds and he was white... I mean, he did the comparison. That's why I said the comparison was last week. I just said it's just... Look at me. You did the comparison.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Look at me. Stop looking over there. You did the comparison. He cannot save you. He can't save you. He wants to win in Spanish. I just killed you. I just killed you.
Starting point is 01:07:21 This is me and you. I just killed you. If Jason Tatum and Donovan Mitchell were both 6'6". Both 6'6". What? What are we looking at? The same thing. We're looking at the same type of players.
Starting point is 01:07:33 We're looking at the same type of talent. What makes one up better than the other? Right? Put them on different teams. Is the success different? No, we don't know. Success is not different. One is more marketable.
Starting point is 01:07:44 One plays for Boston. The other one looks like a Ninja Turtle. One plays for Boston. His whole career, one played for Utah and Cleveland. Brandon, is that the issue? He wants to win fans. Utah and Cleveland. Is looking like a Ninja Turtle the issue, Brandon?
Starting point is 01:07:55 Utah and Cleveland. What does a Ninja Turtle look like? He's supposed to be... Huh? Leonardo Raphael. See, he wants to win something that you can't prove. You can't prove it. He wants to win something you can't prove.
Starting point is 01:08:10 See how he wanted to be a part of it? He did the comparison. He did a sick. He wanted to get in the bag. I'll be serious. Gil wanted to get in the bag so bad. I said Taylor versus Donovan Mitchell. He wanted to get in the bag.
Starting point is 01:08:18 He did this. Stay on the topic. There's only one body bag here. It's for him. So if I didn't bring two, I brought one. If you want to crawl in, you can crawl in one body bag here is for so if I didn't bring two I brought one if you want to go all in You can crawl in the body bag I'll try to zip it up then was sometimes then kill it bring a big enough bag for the both of y'all and kill him with A fact I already you can't prove if he's six one he will be we don't know the numbers
Starting point is 01:08:40 I see really these are the numbers is one Yeah, I have your teammate the dog tag. I did That's irrelevant. These are the numbers is one One is two years younger has been to the Eastern Conference Seven times to the finals two times as an all-nba player a bunch of times. He's better any younger Next that is easy next He's better and younger. Next. That is easy. Next. You brought up the argument. You comparing these two.
Starting point is 01:09:08 I'm in a chat like, I was done with the Donovan Mitchell. You didn't got an answer. Should we ask the chat again? Is it obvious? Is Donovan Mitchell? Should we ask him again? No, ask the chat. You want to ask him again?
Starting point is 01:09:19 No, ask the chat. Is Donovan Mitchell better than Jason Tatum? 72% of them said it was obvious. Ask the chat. Is Donovan Mitchell better than Jason Tatum? You brought it up. We asked the chat first and foremost. Is Donovan Mitchell a number one option?. 72% of them said it was obvious. Ask the chat. Is Donovan Mitchell better than Jason Tatum? You brought it up. We asked the chat first and foremost, is Donovan Mitchell a number one option? We had nearly 4,000 votes.
Starting point is 01:09:30 60% said yes. 39% said no. That's crazy. We were in the process. We're asking the chat again. Is it obvious? I mean, he's still the main option, even though he's the number one option. He's not the number one option on the vocal championship team.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Gil said Jalen Brunson wasn't the number one option on the vocal championship team. Gil said Jalen Brunson wasn't the number one option. On a winning championship team. That's my argument is he's not the vocal point on a championship team. On a championship team, but on this cast? That's fine. That's whatever. Same thing like the Jazz. He said on a championship team.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Like to try to go get the chip? No way. He's the number one option all the way to the top. No way. Just like in Utah, we saw the same shit. No way. That's it. That's all I'm saying. If Donovan Mitchell needed a
Starting point is 01:10:08 Greek the Freak or a Giannis, or a Giannis, he ran into Steph Curry. He ran into Steph Curry, but he's got what I'm saying. Who he ran into. You being the number one option for seven straight times, we got there. At least show me we can get
Starting point is 01:10:24 there. Shit, we back here again. That's the number one option for seven straight times. We got there. At least show me we can get there. Shit, we back here again. That's the number one option. Taylor Brown's sitting over there like, let me try. Okay, how about this? We've seen how that works. We haven't tried it. Brandon, if you're taking Bede off of Philly and it's Maxie's team, who's better, Maxie or Donovan?
Starting point is 01:10:44 I got to see first. They're doing the same, but do you think he will be doing the sameie or Donovan? I got to see first. They're doing the same, but do you think he will be doing the same thing as Donovan? I don't know if he can get them to the second round like Donovan. That's why I said I can't say that because Donovan's been to the second round. I just don't think Donovan can. He might need an Embiid or he might need an Anthony Davis or he might need a Yoke or something. But trying to be the guy like he no stop it Knock that shit off knock it off. Go put that over there
Starting point is 01:11:09 But I'm not saying he's a bad player, but he's not if we try to go win a ring No way, no way stop it. Even my young boys told me stop it So let's but great player though. It's great player bro. Great player great guy great player You know, they'reland had 11 points last night Okay, I mean that's the second that's the second they wouldn't even post today. They said they said now half 18 They could have played Tristan 40 minutes Someone hurt his uh, his uh, Jared Allen had rib injuries more like seven games. Yeah eight games now shit You gotta put some respect on D-Mid's name, bro.
Starting point is 01:11:46 I did. I just said he's not a number one option on a championship team. That's not a number one option. I was not putting respect on him. I didn't say he's trash. But that's a lot of people, though. Exactly. That's not.
Starting point is 01:11:58 It's a lot of people who's not the number one option on a chip team. Just like, you know, when Paul George said that, yo, you know, I think I'm comfortable. Don't you have to win a chip to be able to even have the conversation? No. You can be capable. You can get there. No, you're getting there. For us to have a valid conversation about who's the number one option
Starting point is 01:12:14 on a championship team. What makes your team a championship team? You have to win it or you have to get there? No, getting there like Boston's getting there. Five times Eastern Conference Finals. In the finals. That's getting there like that like Boston's getting there five times Eastern Conference Finals in the final Oh, that's that's getting there. What's our parents in that in that run though, and they got packed up by six I mean, yeah, but they get like, you know They twice what you're gonna twice. Yeah, that's what a two champ to trip to the championship and
Starting point is 01:12:42 Seven Eastern Conference. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, don't do that. Don't ever do that again in the chat, bro. Don't put that. I mean, to be honest, it's not something that is... There's only been Steph, a guard being the number one option. That's rare. One finals appearance. Yeah, I'm going to say one. That's rare.
Starting point is 01:13:01 One finals. You know who he's turning into? Shooting guard, the number one option years You know who we turn it into shooting guard the number one option You know who he about to turn into because it's about to get to that year ten He's about to turn into remember Paul George said yo, I'm cool being the the second option Like he's like it's time is about to be those type of conversation What other guard won a championship that was number one option is Jalen Brunson and then what other God for J Jalen Brunson and then we're option yes he's a number yeah yes yes yes he's a number one up yes so yes Jalen Brunson doesn't have the formidable piece of the formidable pieces to be a championship squad right yeah but he's a number one option yes what's the difference between him
Starting point is 01:13:40 and Donovan Mitchell nothing he wouldn't that that say, okay, so if nothing's different, Donovan Mitchell would then be considered a number one option. He's a number one option. He's a number one option. We're saying that. No, he's not saying that. He's saying he's not a number one option on a championship. You said that.
Starting point is 01:13:56 He is not saying that. He's saying he's not a number one option, period. He's saying he's not a number one option, and I know he's captain. Oh, I thought he said on the championship. No. That's our conversation. That's fine. I think both. Yeah, that's fine. That's fine. He said there's no number one
Starting point is 01:14:13 option on the team. That's fine. Dead body, bro. You're tripping. That's fine. I'm sticking with that. I don't care. Put him on the land, though. Move out. Move over. No. Nowhere. No. Don't let this He should not be shooting 25 shots a night.
Starting point is 01:14:30 28 shots a night. He should not be shooting 25 shots a night. Somebody who has 70. Somebody who has 70. I had 55 and I was like Yeah, he had 52. He had 50, 50, 70, 40, 40, 40, 50, 50, 40.
Starting point is 01:14:48 I love his game. Dome top 6-1. I love his game. I love his game. I mean. I love his game. So, I mean, Steph is the only guard. But he's on that tier of players like, he's on that tier of players, and I don't want to like.
Starting point is 01:14:59 Brennan. I hate to say this, but he's on that tier. Like, they're superstars. They're stars. They're all stars. But he's right there... They're superstars. They're stars. They're all-stars. He's right there where Paul George and Demar is right now. Yeah, Steph.
Starting point is 01:15:10 Steph, the last one in a minute. Yeah, so you're... But in theory, you're right. And they still... They still better than him. But he's headed that way. But this is not a knock against him because Steph Curry is the only guard
Starting point is 01:15:24 in the last, what, 30 years to be the number one option to win a championship? Yeah, I feel like I'm saying he's trash. But he wasn't the number one option. I'm just pointing it out. You can point it out all you want. Number one. Oh, oh, oh. Mr. Hilton.
Starting point is 01:15:37 We can have a debate on Chauncey Billups. Chauncey Billups is the only other one. We can debate on Chauncey Billups being the number one option. I'm rolling. I'm rolling. Right? Yeah. I'm rolling.
Starting point is 01:15:49 So him and Steph in the last, what, six? He said no. He's just trying to think of somebody. No, Rip was the number one option. Okay, so that takes him out. Point guard. So we're talking about Donovan Mitchell. Rip Hamilton wasn't the number one option.
Starting point is 01:16:03 He didn't get finals MVP. So he wasn't the number one option. He didn't get finals MVP So he wasn't the number option. He didn't get finals MVP. So it's not about finals And we just talking about the just the number one option who's the number one option on its big shot big shot So when it's time to go I'm big shot. That's it. So we asked the chat again. Is it obvious? 3500 voters 71% said yes. You know what I like about it?
Starting point is 01:16:29 I love them because none of us know what it is. What is obvious? They know. They know. I even pushed the answer. They know. They know what it means. What they know.
Starting point is 01:16:39 They know. We don't have to say shit. They know. They're like, hey, man. Hey, y'all seeing what I'm seeing? And ask the chat, do they know or is it obvious to me? Yes or no? Because I even put yes.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Yes, fuck it. All right, so let's talk a little bit more about these Cavs. We'll have plenty of time to talk about the Celtics in the future. Just happy that they won't be smearing doo-doo on Tatum or Brown's walls like they did Bill Russell. But despite injuries to key players throughout the season the Cavs are 48 34 Finished fourth in the East and won their first playoff series since 2018 so the Cavs were more likely offered Donovan Mitchell an extension this summer and
Starting point is 01:17:16 According to a report from the Athletic if Mitchell signs the extension dares to Garland will ask for a trade So when you're looking at this squad, I know you're going to be like, let's just say we feel like we know where it's coming from. So if Donovan Mitchell signs his extension, Darius Garland will likely request a trade to get up out of there. Yeah, because he can't play his game.
Starting point is 01:17:37 So should the Cavs keep riding with Donovan Mitchell or give the keys back to Darius Garland? Might as well just roll with him. With who? Donovan Mitchell. Might as well just roll with him. With who? Donovan Mitchell. Might as well. Where Donovan Mitchell going? Lakers? Where Donovan Mitchell going? Lakers?
Starting point is 01:17:55 Who are they going to bring? Put him on the Lakers? Yeah, he can play for the Lakers. Be the third option. So? Shit, that's a great place right there. That's a great place. Been avoiding Lakers talk, you know, because you guys
Starting point is 01:18:07 weren't feeling it, but since you brought us here, Brandon, on your own free will. One is 24, one is 27. They're both small guards. Let them both go. No, so you're going to keep the 24-year-old? You think? I mean, just what you see from Garland in the past few years. Because you're going to have to
Starting point is 01:18:23 pay Donovan Mitchell damn near max and then Garland's gonna He's gonna demand money and we had the two smallest guards He signed an extension a few years ago, which was the largest in Cavs history at that point So he's got who did Garland so he's under contract through 2028. Yeah, you then paying Then paying Mitchell that kind of money for that team no So Sam to the Lakers probably so Brandon said you brought the Lakers was not planning on this guy Which is a I like now. I like that. I'm rolling with that. He just he just needs a good big man
Starting point is 01:18:58 He needs a good big man. He needs to play with somebody like brawn right like so on ad So there are some other reports circulating out there. If Mitchell decides not to sign his extension, the Cavs will be forced to look for trade options before the deadline next year to avoid letting him walk for nothing. Did they offer him an extension? They already offered him an extension? I think they're going to.
Starting point is 01:19:17 I believe, what, July 7th? When is the extension window? So if they offer the extension... It's so hard. So he can reject it. If he's saying, I'm good. I'm good He's a free agent forget you. I'm trying to get up out of Cleveland. He'll be a free agent No, he will he's under contract through next year, but he's got a player option 2025
Starting point is 01:19:33 So he can opt out basically if they don't try to move before the deadline he stays he can opt out 2020 dipping Without giving him so they said they're gonna offer him the extension and then Garland's gonna demand a trade. That is the report that's going Which I get them which depends what he wants if he wants the money He got to stay because if he goes to another team, he's not gonna be the number one guide anymore. Oh Donovan Mitchell you don't need to be anyway. That's what I'm saying. But does he want money? All that money you need to win. He needs to go now. He needs to go on that level with Tatum And we don't know what he wants to do money. All that money. He needs to win. He needs to go on that level. He needs to go on that level with Tatum.
Starting point is 01:20:07 We don't know what he wants to do. What if he wants the Supermax? Well, the problem now, he can't get the Supermax. Or the Max. Whatever Max. The problem now is Garland's reps or whoever has reported, if you sign him back, I'm not staying back.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Which lets you know they don't want to play with each other anymore. So therefore, going into next season, you can't have these two players on the court. So therefore, this summer is important for all of them, right? Because if I'm going to sign you back, I got to have a trade because you don't want to play with him, right? And now you don't want to play with him, so therefore, I got to sign and trade because you don't want to play with him right and you now you don't want to play with him so therefore I got a sign and trade you you sign an extension I trade you off like it's right now that team is basically moved
Starting point is 01:20:54 on I don't think it's anything to do with Donald Mitchell though probably probably not donovan put the team on his fucking back the whole fucking season and then this nigga want to say that yeah that's some whole shit watch out that's some whole shit right there that's some i'ma leave him back wasn't they third last year fuck i believe fourth last year third or fourth the same position lost in the next you can't want a change of scenery you was sitting on the fucking bitch the whole time that's your change of scenery what you mean he did have a damn he averaged 18 this year, too. Is Donovan Mitchell on the USA team? No, Donovan Mitchell is not. So Donovan Mitchell didn't play in the World Cup last year, and I think
Starting point is 01:21:29 there are other reports. So it's a reason why certain guys aren't on the USA team. They didn't put him on the Olympic team this year as a punishment. It's a reason why certain guys aren't on the USA team. Because guys don't like playing with them. But let's talk about it. So Donovan Mitchell says, I'm not signing the extension. Cavs will likely have to find a trade partner.
Starting point is 01:21:46 So we saw LeBron pull up to the Cavs game on Monday. Some felt he was applying the pressure on the Lakers with his future in L.A., uncertain at this point. But maybe he was doing some recruiting as well. Just throw that out there. Did they hire a coach? So how will the Lakers' big three of LeBron, AD, and Spider look in the West? Relax. Relax.
Starting point is 01:22:03 I'm just, that's a report... That's the proposed trade is... Austin. I don't know. They haven't said the trade details yet. Lakers have three first-round picks. I believe they can move tons of salary. What's my name? Your name is?
Starting point is 01:22:15 Shadradamus. Shad the Dream. Shadradamus the Dream. Shadradamus. Austin Reeves. Lemon Daddy. What was your name? Shadradamus.
Starting point is 01:22:24 When did that become your name? What is that? What does that mean? Some work gave it to me. What does that mean? I can predict the shit before it happens. Get it off.
Starting point is 01:22:34 All right? Okay. All right? So listen, so listen to me now. Go ahead. I need you to make a shirt with all your nicknames.
Starting point is 01:22:39 Yeah, yeah. You know what? It's a long list. It's a long list. It's a long list. It's a long list now. You a long list. It's a long list. It's a long list. Now, you better stop that. Front and back.
Starting point is 01:22:49 So, you got Austin Reeves. You got Rui. And I think the rookie kid. Who, uh, Shefino. Shefino. For Donovan Mitchell. And some, what, the three first round picks? Two.
Starting point is 01:23:01 Not even, you don't even need that many. I'm rolling. Long as he ain't shooting 28 shots a night. Line them up with them three. We good. It's a squad, two years. Or... The Lakers have a chance of winning it.
Starting point is 01:23:11 Or D'Lo, Reeves, Rui, a pick to Chicago for Zach Levine and DeRozan. Both of them? Both of them. So what you need both of them for? So many wings. Gil, Gil. Your wings. They don't work together. Yeah, they don't work together. Rosen both of them both of them so what you need both of them for so we need wings Gil, Gil, wings. They don't work together. They don't work together. Who said that? But Gil Ricardo. They've been hurt. Zach Levine was hurt. They were not hurt. They were not playing it good. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, they were hooping together.
Starting point is 01:23:48 So Gil was losing? So you think just they need to be somewhere else to win? So they need to be with, if they were Braun and AD? Come on. What you about to say? Okay, but we can agree that they were losing. Not necessarily far-fetched, what you're saying? We can agree that they were losing games, though.
Starting point is 01:24:01 They were losing games, yeah. But they were hooping. But they took it down, they started winning, actually. That's why they made it to the though. They were losing games, yeah. But they were hooping. I was like, wait a minute. When Zach went down, they started winning, actually. That's why they made it to the playoffs. But they are cool. Yes. That's why they made it, because DeMar took them up there. They are cool.
Starting point is 01:24:12 What were you about to say? So not particularly far-fetched, at least from the DeMar DeRozan standpoint. He will be a free agent this summer. The Compton native made an appearance on Running Back Wednesday and had this to say about potentially playing for his hometown team. Everybody know I'm a Kobe guy at the end of the day. Always been a Kobe guy. Been a Laker fan since day one.
Starting point is 01:24:32 You know, you can't never say no about playing home, especially for playing, you know, for a historic team like the Lakers. So, you know, time will tell. We'll see where the cards fall. Until then, you know, um, I see what happens You know, I'm always gonna be one more So girl we interviewed DeMar DeRozan a few years ago I live right around the corner for another program that we were doing
Starting point is 01:24:56 And cuz he live right around the corner. He thought he was going to the Lakers a couple years ago Did not end up working out over there. So what would DeMar DeRozan be a good fit with the Lakers? Yes, sir. We're going to have DeRozan. Is that the international move around? And Zach Levine over here, baby. We're going to be. Who's going to be the. I don't like it.
Starting point is 01:25:16 Huh? Who's the point guard? I don't really know. It depends. As much as I don't like him. So right now. I'll go with the Don. Right now, Rui.
Starting point is 01:25:22 Rui. It could be Rui and. We made a game. It could be Rui and Lemon Daddy to Chicago just for Zach Levine. And we'll have D-Lo, Zach. D-Lo wants to stay? I feel like D-Lo want to go. D-Lo, I think, is opting out. I feel like D-Lo's ready.
Starting point is 01:25:40 No, he wants that money. He better opt in. D-Lo wants out of there. Unless he... He already opted out. He going to opt out? No, that's the report he. He better opt in. Get out of there. Unless he... He already opted out. He gonna opt out? That's the report he's gonna opt out. I think the thing with D-Lo, though, is like,
Starting point is 01:25:49 I'm not gonna re-sign with y'all if I don't go to where I wanna go. So, yeah. Y'all not gonna play me, give me this bread, and then shoot me off to a... I feel like they need, like, a puppet-like point guard.
Starting point is 01:26:03 We just will do what everybody says. D-Lo needs to score. We got Zach without the K, just Z-A-C. What does that mean, girl? So who's going to be your point guard? I just asked that. Levine? No, Zach Vincent. Oh, he's trying to have your point guard? I just asked that. Huh? Zach. Levine?
Starting point is 01:26:25 No, Zach Vincent. Oh, he's trying to have another season like the Suns. We got Zach Vincent. Oh, yeah. I was like, you and Zach. Oh, no, you're trying to have another season like the Suns. No, we got Zach Vincent, dog. Man, you're trying to have another season like the Suns.
Starting point is 01:26:37 Gabe Vincent, Zach Vincent, he Vincent. It don't matter. Gabe actually could be that person. I actually like Donovan Mitchell better, honestly. The puppet. You like Donovan Mitchell better than yeah No, no, I rather just have Donovan Mitchell then then those two Cuz cuz now now you're just building a oh, yeah a Suns team again. No, no
Starting point is 01:26:59 No, it's gonna be the Suns again. I tried to put bill at the Run is the point guard like oh, oh Now we put the Lakers are smarter go get college. We'll put a little Vincent in the corner You don't think that team is gonna be so listen if Donovan we say doctor tomorrow returns There's no you so sure gonna get 25 to 27. Yeah, we straight now They're not We gotta win in the next I mean we gonna be over two yeah, they're not I mean we gonna be over this hell, but we got a winner next thing I just feel like it's not even enough time for y'all even gel and get together and relax, bro
Starting point is 01:27:33 We're about telling you but we just seen it with Phoenix or about your know Get hurt about your team, you know, it's my get hurt. It'll be out. Yeah, we'll wait till those excuses come We're about your team more excuse We all right go get us, right? He's not that he's not a doctor anymore Doc Like you believe whatever let's go to it so you think Donovan Donovan Mitchell better option potentially than DeMar DeRozan obviously younger Would require a lot more though.
Starting point is 01:28:05 DeMar free agent would probably be willing to take a discount to come to LA. Yeah. Donovan's a better player, man. Than who? DeMar DeRozan. Crickets. You can cue the cricket sound at this point. I mean, I'm not gonna compare at 35. I mean, I'm not going to compare at 35.
Starting point is 01:28:26 I mean, you know, so yes, you're right. But we get Zach Levine, too. I mean, he is younger. We were talking younger. Frito! We got that Frito Dunk, baby. Don Mitchell is younger. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:38 Louie. No, not after what, ACL? He just had an ACL? Nah, he's Superman, man. Who? It's like his second ACL tear. If they get them two, get them to it's gonna be like you said just like Phoenix, bro No, no, we're not Staring we're gonna be doing it's not enough time. No, it's not even enough time to develop
Starting point is 01:28:57 Why you work? You are you are purple and gold on a Westbrook. No, I'm just trying to get out of the way or something before it happens. We see it. They're not doing that move. They're smarter than that. Who? The Lakers.
Starting point is 01:29:16 Smarter will move getting to get back in. And maybe we'll get one. Not both. Just go get done. So we'll see what happens might not be that smart we'll be an interesting summer you might as well call us dumb so we asked the chat oh do you know what is it obvious means nearly 5,000 voters 66% said yes, they know They know it y'all don't catch the fuck up it obvious
Starting point is 01:30:00 Listen to the chat Okay, see they I want to see their faces show Show me who you are. Damn. I'm on one this summer. Damn. It ain't even summer yet. It's been a summer since that song dropped. It's attacking a little spicy. It's going to be a good summer now.
Starting point is 01:30:18 It's going to be a crazy summer. I can't wait until summer leave. It's going to be a great summer. We ain't going to be walking down that lobby like we does last year Huh? Yeah, I'm trying to mmm. So when is summer? Summer starts June 20th the solstice. I believe I got it. So I got enough time to get abs. If not, I got a BBL Not that because they call the BBO trip is they talk about the abs part What the v12 v12 ad machine I believe is what is that and it gives you abs the parallel you see my son
Starting point is 01:30:52 No, I'm gonna go in I want to go in take the fat out and I got a That's all you that's life. Oh, that's all that when the girls be having a belly button up here shit. No What whatever they do they removed it the belly be up here down here Ooh, it don't look normal, baby. It don't look normal, baby. What's happening? It be like, one be here, and he's like, can I move it down a little bit, center it? Then I'm good,
Starting point is 01:31:33 then I'll just, I'll just, I'll just. Just get them airbrushed on. Yeah, they can do it with makeup. That's it, yeah. Gil's saying we're all tank tops this time. All tank tops. With the John Gletsch house. He been telling me to do 200 push-ups a day the Chatter's calling you BBL Gilly
Starting point is 01:31:52 Listen what we ain't gonna love it if I look Look like BBL is if my step my stomach look like I'm 25 Besides workouts, you know BBL is if my step my stomach look like I'm 25. Oh baby. I did some lipo. That's a size workout You know Right here I don't care. I know I got a gym right there, but it's too much work relax to go downstairs You literally has a gym right right where I has a gym right where I'm pointing. Literally right where I'm pointing. Like right behind this camera is a full gym.
Starting point is 01:32:30 Man, Gil. Gil, listen. And Asana. Gil, do not go under. Man, you can lose 10 pounds. Gil, you better not go under the needle, bro. Do not go under the needle. Easy. But you also have a pizza oven.
Starting point is 01:32:39 Why do I feel like I'm being attacked for no reason? Because you said you wanted a PBL. You don't know what it feels like. Now you know what it feels like. If I want to get surgery, bro, said you wanted a BBL. You know what it feels like. Now you know what it feels like. If I want to get surgery, bro, I'm going to get surgery. You know what I mean? Bro, do not go under that needle. Huh?
Starting point is 01:32:52 I'll tell you, do not go under that needle. It's risky, man. It's risky. Do not go under that needle. It's risky. If I die? You might not wake up. I won't know. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:33:02 Here, we need you here. Hold on a second. It's not what I know. You just changed the name. Listen, listen. Yeah, what would we do without you? All you do is just change the name And keep the party going and that's how Gil wanted Who the fuck I'm arguing and it'd be shy it'll be shot arena Keep it going guys. I'm not going to know. Hell, I'm not going to know.
Starting point is 01:33:26 You die from being insane. Oh, man. For those at home, Gil has, as you would imagine, for someone with an extensive NBA career like himself, very nice home that has no reason to leave here ever. Ever. But still the last one to show up for this show every day, and it's literally just two flights of stairs.
Starting point is 01:33:41 I've been watching Netflix. You were playing Fortnite today. Yeah. Everybody saw it. You were playing Fortnite today. Yeah. Everybody saw it. It was on the screen. Unused. Every time I walk by the gym in the morning, it's like, you don't even use this shit. It's a nice gym, too.
Starting point is 01:33:54 It's a nice gym. A lot of room. I'm like a, I guess they called it, what is it, it's a phrase. I'm like a, is it middle-aged white woman? Is that the phrase? It's a phrase. I'm like, is it middle-aged white woman? Is that the phrase? That's the phrase. They said they'll do anything but do a regular workout. That's me.
Starting point is 01:34:11 I'll do anything but workout. They'll be doing like pogo stick workouts. Pilates. Yeah, I like Pilates. He called himself a mid-age. Pilates is a good workout. Sorry. Pilates is a great workout.
Starting point is 01:34:22 Let me say, it depends on what your goals are. It's mid. If you want to lose weight, don't do Pilates. Get stronger a great workout. Let me say, it depends on what your goals are. It's mid. If you want to lose weight, don't do Pilates. Get stronger a little bit. If you want to tone up, Pilates. But if you're trying to lose weight, no. It's not a weight loss workout. So, somebody who deals in the meme space,
Starting point is 01:34:37 they're clipping off that middle-aged white woman. So, expect to see that. You don't use social like that, but your kids would like to see it. I do everything. I do everything I do everything but workout they do it yeah they go trampoline workout I met the nigga at the gym working out I was literally go to the corner and I was there really the booty watch who said what's up or he buddy? I was there to booty watch. He pretending to work out. Who said what's up, or he said what's up to you?
Starting point is 01:35:06 We walked past each other like at least 20 times. No, he was always talking. He had a whole crowd like he's performing stand-ups. Jam and basketball, yeah, my favorite sport. I like it, man. You're the good beloved Dan the Court. I'd be like, damn, man, what's up? I'd be like, what's up, my nigga?
Starting point is 01:35:20 He'd be like, what up? And then we'd keep it going. I did everything but work out. I did everything but work out. I did everything but work out. I did everything but work out. I did everything but work out. I did everything but, damn. I was on everything but workout. I'd be like, damn, Gil, what's up? I'd be like, what's up, my nigga? And he'd be like, what up? And then we'd keep it going. I did everything but workout.
Starting point is 01:35:30 That's Gil. Got to get out of the house a little bit. Finally, I caught him there. Like, come here, nigga. Anything going on, bowling, anything, he ain't going, is a conversation get cracking? Yeah. You can forget about it.
Starting point is 01:35:41 This is true. Yappy, yappy, yappy, yappy. Keep it moving. another productive day arena I knew we were here for some shenanigans with all these people already said I'm a creep cuz he was booty watching at the gym that is why do you go to to me we all do this what exercise yeah I would even get our endorphins like how much really go to the gym to work out so why you think the girls wear those yoga pants? They got the yoga pants.
Starting point is 01:36:06 They got eyelashes, lipstick, nails. All that. No panties on. All that. Like, you know what I mean? I'm there to grade you. What you doing there? You don't need to do this RDL right in front of me.
Starting point is 01:36:17 All right, this outfit's a fix. What you doing this RDL? I see you wear it last week, too. Yeah, same one. Same outfit. You know one of my favorite things about being overseas, one of the seasons I played, they had a gym and they had a women's only area.
Starting point is 01:36:30 They got it in Vegas. They got one in Vegas. You go to the door, you close it. Yeah. And only women in it. They all single. Cats, dogs. That sounds like great.
Starting point is 01:36:38 They all single. They all single. It was so nice to just not have any weird men staring at you in the gym. You have to have anxiety not getting attention. It happens. It does happen. Imagine a woman not getting no attention.
Starting point is 01:36:47 I just go to exercise. That's weird. It strengthens my relationship with God. That's weird. Don't take this out. I don't think every man that goes to gym. Ain't it weird? Isn't it just weird that a woman don't want no attention?
Starting point is 01:37:00 That's a weird statement. I don't want no attention. Yeah, yeah. When you're working out? No, that is weird. But they weren't making statement. I don't want no attention. Oh, yeah. Yeah, no that it no when you're working out No, no that is We're making all the like dress like a little like the club Why can't they want to look good when they're exercising? Why would you want to do that? If you don't want nobody watching you man, listen, man, we gonna look
Starting point is 01:37:22 Without being a weirdo. No you can't. Yes you can. So me, stop. No you can't. Hold on, hold on, hold on. No you can't. Hold on, so we out, we out, right, and a girl walk in the restaurant, I'm like, damn, she got ass, and everybody, that's weird.
Starting point is 01:37:35 We're weirdos. We're looking at that ass. That ass fat. Like, damn, like, I be like, damn. What do we, how long do we look before it becomes weird? Right. I don't know, I feel like that's... Like the whole, because I like the whole... it becomes weird? Right. I don't know. I feel like that's... Like the whole...
Starting point is 01:37:45 Because I like the whole... No, because you're saying we're just weird. That's what I'm saying. I'm saying it's like you can be like... Or maybe try to like... Whoa. How do we look? Like how do we...
Starting point is 01:37:52 Like what's the... What's the time frame? What's the count? No, it's not about how long. It's about us feeling you watching. So... No, it's about who you want to watch. That's what it is.
Starting point is 01:38:01 No. No, that's a fact. That's a fact. Because if you want me, you want me to watch. That's a fact. If you want me to watch's That's a fact Okay, let's say someone wait are we still talking about the gym right? Yes. Yes, so Because in general is different the gym I'm there to exercise and if you want to see one of the above nigga that you like And you all by you know, I will say I stopped wearing Gym sets to the like when I would go to the public gyms because it was getting it was uncomfortable and you walk by he looking I will say I stopped wearing gym sets
Starting point is 01:38:25 to the like when I would go to the public gyms because it was uncomfortable so I started working out in bigger clothing which that's not really
Starting point is 01:38:33 fair to me but like yeah you say you don't want to be stared at at the gym it's still the fucking gym like I don't mind putting on baggy shirts and stuff
Starting point is 01:38:41 and nobody will look at you but a lot of girls that you see online that are posting in the gym and stuff They just there that's what they're doing for their content, but they do their full workouts in Their a fellas go to the gym. They dressed up just start booing I need those dumbbells. You passed them over yesterday.
Starting point is 01:39:15 You might want to be here every day. You wore that yesterday. Come on. Get out of here. Next. Move around, baby. We'll see how you feel. There's a spectrum of harassment. I think it's all about who he is. It is who he is. It's all about who he is, baby. We'll see how you feel. There's a spectrum of harassment.
Starting point is 01:39:26 Nah, I think it's all about who he is. It is who he is. It's all about who he is, bro. They boo who they want. It's all about who he is. When you... Well, yeah, because like Jim, having your Jim boo, like that's a thing. I haven't, I personally never experienced that.
Starting point is 01:39:37 A Jim boo? When I've heard girls. I don't know about that. Yeah, like there's someone that you always see. Like she has a whole husband and a boyfriend. Like a work boyfriend. But they go to the gym to see her boo. Like your work boyfriend.
Starting point is 01:39:44 Y'all don't talk, But you just get it. Yeah That's the thing. I know I'm creepy You know why I know this I had to think about it cuz I'm looking they look at you. Yeah.. So I know I'm doing something wrong. Exactly. I know I'm doing something wrong if I'm looking and then they turn my way and you just see it. I don't see it. I don't even see it. I don't see it. I don't see it.
Starting point is 01:40:10 I don't see it. You just move away. Exactly. You're right. So, yeah. That means we are feeling you. I got to stop going to the gym. So you, like, get to a point
Starting point is 01:40:19 where you're like, okay, I've seen enough, but y'all keep looking and then that's when we're like, all right. Well, listen, we're trying to get your attention. All right, what? Say something. We're trying to get your attention. Look. Hello? I just don't like when they be like, okay, I've seen enough, but y'all keep looking, and then that's when we're like, alright. Well, listen, we're trying to get your attention. We're trying to get your attention. Look,
Starting point is 01:40:27 I just don't like when they be like, can I help you? I don't like that. I don't like the, can I help you? I'm like, yes, you can help me. I never looked that long. Yeah, I don't stare at them. Oh, I was like, yeah. That's super creepy.
Starting point is 01:40:42 I'm level one. I would leave. If I was doing a workout. See, that's crazy. I would leave. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If I was doing a workout and I saw that behind me, I would leave. I'm telling on him. Do it again. Do it again. I'm telling on him.
Starting point is 01:40:53 Do it again. Do it again. I'm telling. You know what I'm here for. I'm telling and I'm going home. You know what I'm here for. I'm just trying not to get fined. I'm telling on you.
Starting point is 01:41:01 He said, I'm telling. I'm telling I'm going home. Security! No, but that is kind of weird,. He said, I'm telling. I'm telling I'm going home. Security! No, but that is kind of weird, Si. No, it's not. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 01:41:10 You're doing the LL? He over here is doing the LL. I get the number. I always get the number. The longer you look, the better it feels. No, you don't. The better it feels. They feel it.
Starting point is 01:41:19 They feel it. Do you know that women give out phone numbers because we feel like we're in danger sometimes? No, I don't. That would be the dumbest. That's a fact. That's a fact. That's a fact. You get out your own number, baby.
Starting point is 01:41:28 No, no, no, that's a fact. Don't give me that. Why would you give me the right number if you felt danger? I'm going to block you anyway. She's going to block you. She's going to block you. She's going to block you. She's just blocking you.
Starting point is 01:41:36 Yeah, she's going to give you the number so you can text her and be like, all right, bet. So then why would you show up? Why would you show up to the crib later that night? We're not talking about that. Wait, wait, wait. Wait, no, no. Nobody's going to the crib. No one's going to the Why would you show up to the crib later that night? We're not talking about that. Wait, wait, wait. Wait, no, no. Nobody's going to the crib. No one's going to the house.
Starting point is 01:41:48 She's coming to the crib. No, no, no. She's saying she's giving you the number when she sees you out so you can leave her alone. Yeah, but she's not saying that. She's showing up to the crib. She's not saying that. She's giving me the number and she's showing up to the crib. We're not talking about those situations.
Starting point is 01:42:02 I'm just talking about hypothetical. I'm the only situation I know. As a reminder. I know I've never asked for nobody's number and Nana Jim. No As a reminder the views expressed on this show are solely that of gill and the gills arena crew Do not necessarily reflect the views of underdog fantasy A very very good employer. I might add, that always pays on time and has been very great to work with.
Starting point is 01:42:28 Shout out to Underdog. Shout out Jeremy Levin and the rest of the Underdog Fantasy crew. I ain't asking for no number. I look good. Damn, what that mean? Keep those checks coming. Give me your number. Alright, well let's keep this thing moving. We had another game last night. So heading into game five, Luca had struggled.
Starting point is 01:42:44 What'd you say? Sorry, go ahead. Sorry, go ahead. Go ahead. No, it's okay. I've accepted the reality of my life. So heading into game five, Luka had struggled offensively.
Starting point is 01:42:56 League's leading scorer was averaging just 22 points on 39% shooting through the first four games. But Luka picked the perfect time for an offensive explosion, stunning the Thunder to help the Mavs take back control of the series. So Luka did less bitching at the refs and more balling,
Starting point is 01:43:12 dropping his second straight triple-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists. He was 12 for 22 from the field, 5 for 12 from 3. Derrick Jones Jr. had a playoff career high of 19 points. He was 7 for 9 from the field. P.J. Washington, who had led the Mavs in scoring the previous three games, had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kyrie, another slow night if you want to say that. 12 points and 4 assists. He was 5-11
Starting point is 01:43:32 from the field. Derek Lively was solid off the bench with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Now, on the other side, because I'm just giving you the story of the game, and losers do things too. SGA led the Thunder with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. 12 for 22 from the field. Chet Holmgren had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists, 12-22 from the field. Check home, we're going to have 13 points, 4 rebounds.
Starting point is 01:43:48 Jaylen Williams had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. So Josh Giddey did not start for the first time in his career getting replaced by Isaiah Joe, but Giddey had 11 points in 12 minutes of game action. Mavs looked good on both sides of the floor. They were 53% from the field, 40% from deep. Held the Thunder to 43% from the field and 25% from three. The Thunder were 10 for 40 from three in the game. And the Mavs improved.
Starting point is 01:44:15 Yeah, that's a lot of bricks. The Mavs improved to 4-0 following a loss this postseason. So after the win, Luka was asked about his approach this game and whether not complaining to refs as much as normal was intentional. Yeah, intentional. Like I said, just focus on basketball. You know, I talked to them normal without complaining and nothing. I think it was the whole game, nothing. So I just go out there, hope, have fun, man. Have fun with the old Luka. With a smile on my face. Like he said, less bitching, more balling.
Starting point is 01:44:53 So question for the couch. How much easier is the game for Luka when his emotions don't take over? It's easy for anybody. I think it's a lot easier for him because he... You don't complain as much as Luka, I would imagine. Because he has the ball in his hands a lot. No, but when you do, that's just... And he dictates a lot of what goes on with the game.
Starting point is 01:45:10 So if he can stay focused and stay locked in, Dallas always has a better chance of winning because he draws so much attention to himself. So if teams see him getting frustrated or out of the game, they're going to take advantage of that. So I think that's just... Like, that's his only thing to me is just him controlling his emotions.
Starting point is 01:45:27 If he could do that, he'll be fine. Complaining is a part of life. Rest, dude. Stop messing with you if you keep complaining too much, too. But you got to learn how to talk to him, too. I learned that yesterday. I'm going to shut up. When you was complaining a lot?
Starting point is 01:45:38 Yes. I was getting, I told you, I felt like I was playing a football game last night. Damn. But it didn't matter. Because they're like, okay, keep complaining. You're still not going to get any phone calls. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:45:47 I just got slapped the hell out of somebody. Get that tech. Get that tech, yeah. Oh, no, no. I've never gotten a tech. Oh, it's about that time, man. No, no. It's about that time.
Starting point is 01:45:59 It's not me. Yeah. You ain't never had your Alphabets, never got a tech. You got to choose. A tech for what, though? To let them know you for real out here. No. It doesn't even sound right, unless you're a technical bio.
Starting point is 01:46:12 Obviously, everybody on this couch has dealt with refs. Is there a point, though, when you have to voice your disapproval and get that tech to get their respect? I think so. No, you need to get a tech. I think so. I don't think you have to get a tech. Especially, like, if you were moving into an arena of being a leader of the team and you're trying
Starting point is 01:46:28 to be the voice. And when you're out there and you're at the captain's circle before the game, you're talking to the refs, you have to be the signal for your team. You have to be the one to know all the refs' names. You got to go up to them. You got to be respectful. But when you feel like you've been on the other side of the calls you got to let them know and if you got to get that tech that's letting them know i mean we i'm the leader of this thing i ain't playing that shit i don't even know
Starting point is 01:46:52 how to talk to refs anymore the problem with luca is not even like he's he's bitching he's just it ain't even technical worthy you're just bitching he's just bitching yeah you know that's different than like you're saying everything but enough to get a technical right but you're bitching to the point where it's affecting you offensively and defensively you're walking on both sides of it so that's the thing like you are luca right so you know they can't call everything for you but they're going to give you the calls that they need to give you for you to still be you. So therefore there's really nothing. They're not going to change your call.
Starting point is 01:47:29 Thanks. Right. I mean, Conley had to teach me that, right? They're not going to change your call once they do it. So if they didn't call a foul and you sitting there bitching, where the foul at? They're not going to buy. Oh, you're right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:40 Let's go back. Hey, stop. Hey, stop. Come on. This ain't AEU. God damn it. I, he, said I fouled him, and he's showing me the blood. Right. Means he got fouled, so we're going to bring it back. Who is it on?
Starting point is 01:47:52 Him. Foul on you? Him. That's not going to happen. So you might as well just take it and just keep going. Wait for a timeout or at the free throw line, and that's when you do it. Yeah. Well, you at Hooper, though, you learn that if you just go hard, the refs gonna give you
Starting point is 01:48:05 your calls. You play aggressive and sometimes the refs will come over and tell the coach, like, man, you guys, you need to stop fucking bitching and just play. And that just means if you guys play hard, we'll give you your calls. Y'all not playing hard, you're being lethargic, you're trying to bail out. You gotta work the refs like you work the work. Damn. That is the bar, Brandon.
Starting point is 01:48:25 You got to finesse. Yeah, you got to finesse the refs like you finesse the work. I believe that. I believe that 100%. So you got to just spit game and, you know, it's going to be. And then that. How you doing today? How you doing today?
Starting point is 01:48:40 Very good. Okay, where you going after this? Sometimes I'll simply ask them a question, but I think they think I'm being an asshole But I'm really just asking like last night. For example, I box someone out. She jumped over me No foul. She got her put back whatever it literally jumps over me next play. They call over the bat call on us Mm-hmm, and I was like What was the difference? I said, what do I need to do to get that same call? He was like, well, then his response, he was like, you're absolutely right.
Starting point is 01:49:10 That should have been a no call, too. And I was like, I don't know if you're being serious or not. You got to get your rebuttal game up, though. I was like, but I couldn't tell. I was like, I was being genuine, and I didn't know if he was being genuine back. Call that shit on the other end, then. Call it both sides, ref. So you were being respectful. I'm always respect what Lexi I know I work with you long enough Always a joy to work with Use this line this line I used to lose when somebody's like like I'm like you just gonna let him dry
Starting point is 01:49:37 Help me the whole night. Yeah, what we're doing here. You're gonna let him dry little doggy right here This is how we playing defense. You said you to let him dry hunt me the whole night? He's going to be like, okay, that's funny. That's funny. Okay. Laugh him up. So is it more important to joke around with the refs this episode? Yes.
Starting point is 01:49:54 I'm curious. Somebody who's never played in the league. For sure. That's what I used to do. I used to joke. You got to keep it light. The moment you start getting aggressive with them is the moment they start feel like you're showing them up. And they tell y'all that in the beginning of the season when you do the ref meeting with the players.
Starting point is 01:50:09 They're like, we get the calls 99% of the time right, so don't be trying to tell us that we're wrong. So the moment you start telling them that they're wrong, they'll be like, what? They're self-grading, though. So if I was grading my test in high school, oh, these are all 99. Especially when you call them out on their points of emphasis that they gave you a whole thing about slide shows and shit Don't call and all of us you're like, what about the points points of emphasis? You're done. You're not getting listen That's the real black and white
Starting point is 01:50:35 All right, and polio black and white. They just ain't got a badge. That's the way I got a whistle Okay, you got a whistle they got slacks and they got slacks, and they wear New Balances. All black shiny. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black.
Starting point is 01:50:54 All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. All black. Why can't they wear a nice cape? Why can't they wear a jersey? Man, that's just a shiny boy. Remember AAU back in the day? Shiny like them. Referees get money. It'd be tight. It'd be nice if they did a uniform change. Like a throwback or something with the refs.
Starting point is 01:51:18 Like give them something new. I think the old referee's jersey used to have the NBA logo on it. Remember the big NBA logo? They should bring on it. Remember the big NBA logo? They should bring that back, the big NBA logo. Do some throwback ref jerseys. With the colors, different colors? Yeah, do a different colorway. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:51:36 That would be dope. That should be dope. That would be dope as fuck. Something different. Like soccer. Like a damn zebra out there. Tired of that shit. Nah, the NBA, they ain't never did the stripes.
Starting point is 01:51:45 The white and black? Not in the NBA? Oh, yeah, they're not even stripes anymore. NBA has been great. It's always, yeah. Oh. It's always been great.
Starting point is 01:51:53 We don't ever, yeah. We never had stripes. That's football, right? No. Not as, like, college. That's college. Pros is just the gray top. Oh, you know what?
Starting point is 01:52:00 You're right. Damn, you're right. They only had the gray ones. Because I was looking for it when I came here with mine. I was looking for the actual NBA joint. What's so funny? I've never known that. I didn't know. You noticed it, but then you were just like, whatever.
Starting point is 01:52:11 You just assumed. I think because everything we think about refs is black and white. Yeah, zebra, zebra, zebra. So the NBA got the exclusive joint. You can't even find them shits. So they replaced with gray in 71. Damn. That's crazy. Snapper fact for that ass, but back to look a second straight
Starting point is 01:52:31 See information I like the big heads. I'm not even going to lie. There's no fan who sits courtside who has one of those. Yeah, you don't see me with it. Shout out to all the I'm going to get your sucker fans. We should all dress up to a Lexi game. We should all come as characters. No, don't embarrass me. No, we're not going to embarrass you. Facts. Lexi.
Starting point is 01:52:55 Yeah. You think this crew is going to show up to your game and not do some stupid shit? Lacey, you have to dress crazy. I put 300 down on you last night. I'm treating you like... I told you to do that. I do not feel bad for you people.
Starting point is 01:53:08 I'm going to start the wave. I'm going to start the wave as soon as the game starts. I'll be in high school. Soon before, hey, we're going to do it like this. Like this. Do it like this. You too. You too.
Starting point is 01:53:22 Get your ass up. That's all I'll be doing. I'm definitely bringing freedom. I played for so your ass up. That's all I be doing. I'm definitely bringing freedom. I played for so long that everything I've ever seen in the crowd, I just want to do it now. I just want to do it. I be in high school like, hey, you ready?
Starting point is 01:53:35 Let's go. Hey! Three people. Yeah! If you ever get the chance, come to a game that Gil was at in high school. Which one we going to? Everybody got a show. Which one?
Starting point is 01:53:47 For next year? No. Oh, next year. Oh, yeah. You can't go to the Indiana game. The Kaelin Clark one? Yeah. Oh, we're going.
Starting point is 01:53:55 Wait, what? The whole arena? Even like the box? It's at Staples. The Kaelin. Damn. Fever? What is it?
Starting point is 01:54:03 24th. And y'all didn't have us ready for that fever verse right now it'd be like four dudes outside stable that got tickets for everything I'm gonna get it right Haley Clark is your last that came out of our cuz you're like Clark Kent I'm saying see here see here save today we can't get a ticket save the day Brandon We will be in the building moving the needle, baby We have a ticket row
Starting point is 01:54:31 Yeah, that's you listen to the Reno I'm sitting on the bitch. Oh god Run out there like moving that fan that just run out around today today chases But they're duty and play What's up, bro? Yeah. I just think I'm like this. I just think I'm like this. I'm like this. Oh, my God. Underdog will have special picking for the game. Gil, your current higher or lower before you get ejected from the venue is 1.5 quarters. 1.5 quarters? 1.5 quarters. Two quarterbacks.
Starting point is 01:55:17 He out by half time. If you make it two quarters, you go with the higher. But let's get back to Luka. Second straight triple-double, one of his most efficient games of this postseason. How important was it for Luka to have a game like this, considering his offensive struggles this postseason? I mean, even though he's been, you know, struggling offensively, they've been winning. And, you know, sometimes just getting through the series is all that matters.
Starting point is 01:55:42 You know, you're not going to be able to be dominant all the time. And, you know, the fact that they're up 3-2 And he hasn't played well just it's great for the Mavs because that means other players are stepped up Yeah playoffs about winning all the awards accolades have already been accounted for He came what second in MVP, third in MVP? I believe third. So, I mean, you're not going to have, it's not going to be your night every night,
Starting point is 01:56:10 but he's still able to help them win. So, yeah. The Mavs have surprised me, for sure. Their role players, I think their pickup of P.J. Washington was huge. I think he's been big for them. So, yeah, happy for them. We talked about the defensive issues previously with that squad, but coming back in this game five on the road at OKC,
Starting point is 01:56:33 after just tricking the game four at home. I think it's the same thing with Joker and them. With Minnesota, slow the game down, get back to the basics of what you really need to do. Look at the film, what they're giving you trouble with. Luke Dort and all those guys overpressuring, overplaying. They're going to tire out. And once they do, now you use your basketball IQ to take advantage of that. Luka had a big game because he's seen the discrepancies.
Starting point is 01:56:55 Shoot the ball when you open. Stop trying to make it all more difficult than it is. Kyrie facilitate better. D. Jones, he's doing, I think he's the X factor in the whole series because he's been able to play defense a certain way that affect those shots. I think his stat was, he was 0 for 8 on OKC throughout the whole game. They were 0 for 8 against him. Just him as a defender.
Starting point is 01:57:17 So for him to affect the game that way, hitting threes, P.J., like you said, doing his thing, but lively. Lively being able to get second-chance points, finish those lobs, making sure Chet's not really a factor. OKC is too young to understand they need game changers in order to outstretch this series to make it something of a competitive series because SGA can't do it by itself. Yeah. SGA had 30.
Starting point is 01:57:48 No other player on the team had more than 13 in the game. He's trying to. Jalen Williams got to be 20 a game. I knew that was going to be their problem during the playoffs. Once they got to it, SGA, there's role players. I knew that was going to be their issue, though. Not enough experience? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:58:03 It's like they put the zone in, right? OKC is a driving team, right? They shoot wide open threes, right? Dallas's zone is forcing them to shoot threes that they normally don't take, right? They took 40 threes yesterday. Went 10 for 40. That's not who you guys are. You guys attack the rim.
Starting point is 01:58:24 The reason the zone is there is to keep you from there That'll mean you stop take those shots that they like that's what they I want to play the zone to keep you out here So you can take jumpers you don't do it Right and that's what they're doing. They're playing into Dallas's Dallas's hands and that's what ends up happening So okay, see led the league in three-point percentage this year They averaged 34 a game so a little bit more than normal, but just not not knocking him down Like he said no it was that it's not even these shots It's the type of shots like he's they're forcing them to take contested threes and they're used to taking wide open driving kicks And if I have yeah, it's your wide open this time. It's like swing swinging. Oh
Starting point is 01:59:02 Shit shot like no, that's not yeah damn it yeah the guy isaiah joe is that his name number 11 you can just see he's out there trigger happy he's just shooting that motherfucker just every time he get it he just won't shoot i don't know why he started last got to start giddy had been playing rather mid i know he's been playing some mid but the team has been playing well yeah Yeah. He's been mid team well. You start in Joe, he's okay. Team playing bad. Dagnall thought it was time to move Giddy to the bench.
Starting point is 01:59:36 When you're 2-2? Yeah, I'm going to say. 2-2 after a win. Giddy's been playing low minutes the whole time. 2-2 after a win. Gave him playing low minutes the whole time. Two and two after a win. Keep the same rotation because Isaiah didn't play
Starting point is 01:59:50 against a fresh Kyrie. He played against a Kyrie that's coming in. Well, he knew his routine, right? Now you're shifting it, trying to get
Starting point is 01:59:56 more offense, having guys do And then he was off. Yeah, he was. He was off. But that's why coaching and
Starting point is 02:00:01 experience is important, too. He's still experimenting. He's still experimenting. He can't experiment too, too. Yeah, but he don why coaching and experiences is important to you. He's still experimenting. He's still experimenting He can experiment to to like it's just but he don't know though Yeah, so thunder overcame a 14-point deficit game for to even the series
Starting point is 02:00:12 Obviously tricked off this big opportunity in game five How much did the Thunder's playoff inexperience show in his home loss in a crucial game? Man, it's the playoffs right? Everybody's adjusting. You know, everybody is Has an opportunity to have a big game right so it's about who's ready who's mentally prepared who's been preparing for those moments because Right Kyrie is having been balling he hasn't even been really aggressive I'm pretty sure the next game if he senses any type of we might to lose he he he might have the 30 something which you focusing on Luka he might have the 30 something so same thing with Giddy might come out and he
Starting point is 02:01:01 might be forced to have 20 25 right You have to be ready for those moments because it's game to game. Right? You know, and that's what the playoffs is. We're watching each other in real time adjusting. So, OKC adjusted themselves. Mavs didn't even have to do
Starting point is 02:01:19 nothing. Just go out there and play. OKC did it themselves. Now OKC, what are they going to do, adjust back. Right, adjust back. And that's what ends up happening. Like you're trying to, sometimes too much thinking can fuck it up too. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:34 Especially after a win. It's just little tweaks in here. You came back and won, right? You're watching how you finished the game. And then how did you get into the lead? You lost the lead. And then just go from there. But don't't do drastic stuff but that's the difference like with a San Antonio right you don't change the system for the team you playing with right you know
Starting point is 02:01:53 what your system is we know what we do well we don't have to change what we're doing we have to adjust to what they're doing so if they're out there doing this this and this and we got to change our coverage here change change this, we don't want to change our offense. What do we need to change our offense for? Even if you're missing shots, bro, you're getting a gym. Go in there, and we still got faith in you to hit your shots and make plays, but the moment you switch something up in your car, in your machine, that's when it's like, oh, shit, this shit ain't running the way it was last game.
Starting point is 02:02:23 It was kind of shaky this time. What did y'all do different? We took the main piece out that was keeping it together and I'm our shit is putt putting around this bitch So that's that's the number one thing with teams that with a system is you got to keep that motherfucking confidence in the system It's gonna work. Hey, hey, why you think the the team was gonna lose the series? They don't got no backup. They don't got no backup for Ant-Man. Ant-Man is the only primary scorer.
Starting point is 02:02:52 So we're not going to say because, oh boy, missed game two. So we just not going to put that out there? No. They won. They won that game, like comfortably. That's fine, but we had to adjust. So now that your ass came back, we had to adjust again. We're talking about adjustments, right?
Starting point is 02:03:03 Who had to adjust? Minnesota, right? So you leave game two, which was disrespectful. After we won game one with me. Right? So you leave game two because, okay, the baby was born, alright. But the player that you're playing against, that's like going against Shaq
Starting point is 02:03:20 and you're missing a game in the playoffs because of that. And then you gotta come back and you think it's gonna be sweet You know, you know what could be it like I think game two I think a lot of people not understand game two is the reason why Minnesota is about to lose this series I don't care if they want it or not One two it is this the defense they played in game two right without really like We remove you know how they sometimes like a offensive player leaves and then the offense changes?
Starting point is 02:03:48 Like with the Lakers, right? When LeBron is not on the floor, everybody plays different, right? They move in differently. When Rudy is out, the defense is like, oh shit, we don't have him back there. Let's tighten up, right? put we're gonna play structurally different When he's there, it's like okay Rudy's there you can play one-on-one And now he's like well, okay one-on-one is better for me When y'all was playing this this this structure this structure contained wall. I didn't like that so much So I'm glad Rudy's back so I get to just go one-on-one at him because y'all are not protecting him anymore.
Starting point is 02:04:27 So that could happen, but I mean, at the end of the day, it's still an adjustment, right? You lost game three, you didn't adjust to that. You lost game four, you didn't adjust to that. Game five, you didn't adjust. It's a little
Starting point is 02:04:42 bit of everything. You know they're not that good if Murray's struggling. But it's a little bit of everything, you know They're not that good if Murray is struggling But you know those little things though in playoff games do matter like like like just him missing just okay Oh shit. We saw what we was missing like damn. They beat us game too But oh, no, we actually do like when he do play, you know, I can I can get off more It's just little things like that. That's why I've got to be careful. They're not paying attention to the, they're paying, they're, it's like Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe,
Starting point is 02:05:09 right? They're focusing on Shaq. Not realizing there's a nuclear bomb right here. Right? This is, yeah, he is the focal point, but this is the person that's actually knifing us to death.
Starting point is 02:05:26 Right? When Murray is struggling, no matter what the fuck Joker has, they could lose. When Murray is hitting shots, because Murray is going to hit those shots at the end of the game, that's been the problem. He's been playing well the last three games. Pull up Murray's desk. He's been playing well the last three games. Pull up Mary's death He's been playing well the last three games He struggled the first two games when they lost but he started bad I feel like the adjustment wasn't necessarily the Minnesota Timberwolves more than it was
Starting point is 02:06:01 More than it was the different nuggets I think when they saw when when Rudy't there, they saw what they could do, so they pulled him out the paint. So game three, Jamal Murray had 26. 24. 24, right? Game four, 19 to five. All they've been doing is pulling Rudy out of the paint.
Starting point is 02:06:18 No, the difference, I think, is they got Aaron Gordon more involved in the offense. They got Aaron Gordon more involved in the offense. They got Aaron Gordon more involved in the offense. That's what their adjustment was. So even if Rudy does seem like the X factor in the defense's assignments for Minnesota, I don't think that Minnesota has changed anything from what they did
Starting point is 02:06:36 the whole regular season. Even though it's game by game, series by series, this series they might just have the wrong matchups right there. But the game two is the only one where they got to see a different lineup different right so now that they're back to what they're usually doing the adjustment wasn't for minnesota it was for the different nuggets what is it the game two that pissed us off when we got our ass whooped like that what was it oh we need to get back to the bases and they're taking the ball out of jamal's hands and they're putting too much pressure on him as a point guard,
Starting point is 02:07:06 let's put it in Aaron's hands. Let's let Aaron bring it up. Let's let Aaron be the facilitator and Joker will be able to do what he wants to do because now we have to either double him or let him go. Now you be in the dunker and ready, and he's hitting that three-pointer. So what can you do when he's hitting and he's splashing?
Starting point is 02:07:23 It's too much to handle for Minnesota in their regular scheme. They need to change their scheme now because their regular scheme don't work with them. We will see tonight how it plays out and whether the Wolves will be in Cancun or force a game seven. Are they in Denver? Yeah, they're in Denver. In Denver this next game? Yep. Is that tonight?
Starting point is 02:07:42 The team is going to Mall America after this. It's a big-ass mall. I know. They got time. Let's talk Knicks real quick. Knicks and Pacers were square off in Indiana for Game 6 on Friday with Brunson and them trying to give the Knicks their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000.
Starting point is 02:07:58 During a recent episode of his podcast, Draymond had New York fans in their feelings after saying he thinks the Knicks are a fluke. And on Inside the NBA Before Game 5, Dray doubled double down on it and the truth about the team was it's a fluke Good season that they've had last in the last whatever you said is a fluke this year is what you said He said this year team is a focus. Here's what you said. He said this year's team is a fluke. Okay, so here's what I said. A fluke. I said this team, they're winning right now. And it could be, I think it's a setup like the Atlanta Hawks in 2021.
Starting point is 02:08:32 And if you remember back to maybe 2016, 17, the Portland Trailblazers paid all of those guys because they had that one good year. And then they got jammed up. And I think this New York Knicks team could be a setup to get jammed up. That's what he means by it. So for the future. Avid Knicks fan and comedy legend Tracy Morgan was in the garden for game five. Clap back at Draymond for the Knicks slander.
Starting point is 02:08:59 Let me tell you something, Draymond. I love you like cooked food. I love you like the fat kid loves cake. Don't talk crap about my team. This is New York York City kid. This is the home of King Kong this way die, okay? This is the home of Kong died that's not a good that's This is the home of King Kong where King Kong died. That's not a good brag because King Kong protects the humans.
Starting point is 02:09:31 Every time I see Tracy Moore, I think about him riding around the world. We know what King Kong was really about. In potholes? A big black gorilla? Come on, man. Let's be real. Hustle man. Hustle man.
Starting point is 02:09:45 Back to the New York Knickerbockers. black gorilla, come on, man. Let's be real. Hustle man, hustle man. Hustle man. Back to the New York Knickerbockers. Let's play a game of facts or cap. Facts. I see, I understand what Draymond was saying. The Knicks playoff run is a fluke. Facts or cap. Gil, you said facts already. How Draymond is explaining that it's a problem.
Starting point is 02:10:02 They're so successful with the group it is, right? Now, what he's saying is because of the success, let's say they go to the Eastern Conference Finals, you have to pay them. You got to pay.
Starting point is 02:10:16 Some people will be getting those bags. Yeah, someone got to get the bag. Are the team moving forward? With all those players getting the bag, does it help them move forward? And he's saying it might jam them up.
Starting point is 02:10:30 Right? Especially when you're a young team and you're successful, everyone has to get paid. And sometimes you might not be able to afford everyone. Brunson needs some bread. Brunson needs some bread. OG and Inouye need some bread. Hardenstein will be a free agent
Starting point is 02:10:45 How many free agents they have that's what they want to keep the villain? I mean, but we can get we can get players for them, but I don't think they don't know but now this is not a fluke Though this ain't no, you know This team this team as constructed is solid but now people got to get their bread some decision need to be made obviously There's still the Julius Randle situation. He's a free agent too, right? Julius Randle. Yeah, he can go. He can opt out in
Starting point is 02:11:12 2025. Damn. I'm trading him. What's going on right now? Everybody, nah. I'm trading him. What's going on right now? Him and Russell can't play together. OKC is the same way too. But different though because a lot of those guys are going to get along though. No, but what I'm saying is OKC is going to way too. But different though because a lot of those guys call them rookie deals. Yeah, but they look like they get along though. No, but what I'm saying is
Starting point is 02:11:26 OKC is going to have a problem too because think about it. They're young and they're going to be coming up max deals. Right. So someone's going to get screwed. You can say the same exact thing
Starting point is 02:11:35 about OKC right now. You can say the same thing about OKC. I mean, OKC has been having this problem. But that same thing with James Harden. OKC with James Harden. Yeah, yeah. It become jam law. You got a guy on a bench
Starting point is 02:11:43 that you're trying to keep hidden and he's like, fuck that, I'm worth this and I can't afford him now. So he's saying that's what the fluke is. OKC goes to the championship with their young team
Starting point is 02:11:52 and becomes a fluke. So was that Golden State Warriors championship without KD a fluke? Hell no. Hell no. Andre Iguodala. Your man Andre Iguodala
Starting point is 02:12:04 was on there without AD bro. Right, the championship they won. The one with Jordan Poole. The recent one? The one with Jordan Poole. Oh, I thought you were talking about the first one. No, 2022. The last one they just won. Was that a fluke? Oh, nah. It wasn't a fluke? No, no way. Okay, so why didn't they win it again? No, he's not talking like he's talking about jam law.
Starting point is 02:12:21 You have to keep it in the context. Jordan Poole got it in the context. I'm just giving a whole different perspective. No, you got to keep it in the context. My perspective is if you're a player and you're playing right now, like if we're all playing against each other, right, but Josiah is the only one that made it out, right, and we all in agreeance that it's a fluke that he made it out, right?
Starting point is 02:12:43 Wouldn't that be us hating on you? Wouldn't we be hating on you? Because we're calling you making it a fluke. Most people on this couch hate on me pretty routinely. You have to keep it in the context. The context is, are they going to be able to sustain getting back if they have to pay all these people?
Starting point is 02:13:05 That's what the context is. Like, you can't say, like, are they built structurally, financially? Are they going to be built like Boston? No. Because Boston have two guys, and then from there, everyone doesn't make that much money for them to max out. You're going to have to pay Josh Hart some money. You're going to have to pay. But not for a while. Not for a while. We're talking about for next pay Josh Hart some money. You're going to have to pay... But not for a while.
Starting point is 02:13:25 Devin Chinzo... We're talking about for next year. For next year. So Josh Hart has a team option in 2028. So he's under contract in 2028. Devin Chinzo's under contract through 2027. Okay. Bro, everybody is locked in.
Starting point is 02:13:39 So the context you're talking about is he's overstepping, he's over-talking. He's just wanting to be controversial about saying it's a fluke. Brunson's going to need his back. It's not. It's not irrelevant at all. So it's like, what are you talking about a fluke when you didn't even make it out the play-in? Brunson's going to need a back. Julius Randle.
Starting point is 02:13:59 Yeah, that's whack. What are you saying, bro? Yeah, but Draymond not getting out the play has nothing to do with, with, with, with, like, with, like, Yeah, it is, because you're sitting up there with his resume
Starting point is 02:14:09 and you're making all the fans look at you like, why is you hating, bro? What you talking about? We a fluke. We got here. We're here. But Draymond can call,
Starting point is 02:14:19 but, but listen, Draymond, but I feel like Draymond is in a position where he can call that shit a fluke. We can call that shit a fluke because we can't. If they don't make it far, then they should try and break the team up to prevent the logjam that's coming. He's saying that.
Starting point is 02:14:34 If nothing happens, then the logjam is not going to happen. But the logjam is coming. But on his podcast, he basically said, you look at that Hawk squad that made the Eastern Conference Finals. And they never got back. They never did anything since. They doubled down on their team. That Blazers squad didn't do anything since. So he's predicting that this is going to be the same situation
Starting point is 02:14:50 where this team got this far, but it'll never happen again. Which I think... I mean, technically, that could be more of a factual thing than not because, you know, you got Embiid. If he's healthy healthy then you got the Bucks if they're healthy so it could happen I mean, it's not it's not it's not that sounds like a hypothetical I said then I said I said that's more of a hyper. That's what I just said the same thing You said this sounds like a hypothetical. We don't function on hypotheticals I said that's... I said that sounds... We don't function on hypotheticals. I said that's more of a reality.
Starting point is 02:15:26 I said his story is more of reality because if everybody comes... When everybody comes back, it'd be harder for them to make it. That's more... Like, this is more of a hypothetical. Everybody gets hurt, right? Next year again, then they can be back in a situation.
Starting point is 02:15:38 So it's more realistic what he said. It's more realistic. More realistic that they cannot be back because of Embiid to be back healthy, Giannis to be back healthy. Randall will be healthy, Mitchell will be healthy. OG and Anobi will be healthy. Why wouldn't it be realistic?
Starting point is 02:15:53 I said it's more realistic that they can't make it back because everybody will be healthy. I don't know if I'm saying it's not realistic. The other teams, yes. Because the New York Knicks will be more healthy. So it would make it more realistic that they could be back. Yeah. Either way.
Starting point is 02:16:08 But I'm just saying. Not if everybody's healthy. New York Knicks. We don't know. Julius Randle. All healthy. If Embiid is healthy and the Bucs are healthy, I don't think they're going to. Can they compete, though?
Starting point is 02:16:21 Yeah, they can compete. To go back to the Eastern Conference. To be the second round. Right now, the second round. Yeah. Are they going to go to the Eastern Conference, to be the second round. Right now, the second round. Yeah. Are they going to go to the Eastern Conference final? Yes. Remains to be seen.
Starting point is 02:16:29 Yeah, but I think they can go to the Eastern Conference. They can still lose. Can they go to the Eastern Conference final next year with everybody healthy? There's only two teams. But if you have to bet everything. If you have to bet everything. If you have to bet that the Knicks are going back next year. In Boston.
Starting point is 02:16:40 If you have to bet everything. If I have to bet everything that they're going to go back to the Eastern Conference next year. Yeah. Or the second round. They haven't gone there yet. So no Listen they're about to go the next playoff run is a fluke fax or cup Play over what we can Wait, wait, hold on you saying something different Is it after we've broken down the kids there? Yeah, there... Are we going off of Draymond Greens or yours?
Starting point is 02:17:06 With Draymond, sir. Because if you're saying, is it a fluke that they got there? For the foreseeable... I mean, I'm going to say... I'm going to say Kat because... Thank you. We're talking about... But we're talking about the logjam of money that's not there yet.
Starting point is 02:17:19 That's what I'm saying. The logjam hasn't existed. Draymond said... No, no, no. See, you see, Draymond said... Go with what you you just asked her you asked her something different the next playoff run is a fluke for this year I think they're legit they've beat who they beat now for the
Starting point is 02:17:33 future so you're saying so the next playoff run is a fluke good you're now saying cap not facts how you're using it now the question I just asked with the seven words have they the way they've been playing is not a cap that they want. They've been playing out of their minds. Yeah. Okay. Cap. Yes. Is it a fluke?
Starting point is 02:17:50 Shots for dominance. Is it a fluke? Yes. It's a cap. It's not a fluke. Okay. Do the Knicks have draft picks and money? It's New York.
Starting point is 02:17:58 Huh? They got pizza and Timberland boots. Facts or cap? What? The Knicks playoff run is a fluke, Brandon. Facts or cat? I'm going to say facts. Okay.
Starting point is 02:18:17 Just off because... You can't go back. No, and that's fine. Just off the fact because the way he broke it, if everybody's healthy... So you're saying if the Bucs were healthy this year? Because if I have to put all my money on it and that the Knicks are going to make the Eastern Conference Finals, no way.
Starting point is 02:18:30 Next year, no way. Not everybody being healthy. Okay. So you're saying if the Bucs were healthy this year, the Eastern Conference playoffs would look a little bit different. Yeah, for sure. Okay. I think if everybody, I think if Embiid was healthy,
Starting point is 02:18:41 I think if Embiid and them was healthy, it would be totally different. Because if Embiid is healthy and all and all them that they getting past the Knicks Okay, so when it comes to this Knicks playoff run being a fluke Yeah, that's what say you worried it's that what we're saying is not the same thing Yeah, so then you have to use it towards of what he. This year is not a fluke because they're there. It can't be I'm there. It can't be a fluke because I'm there. He's talking in the future.
Starting point is 02:19:13 He's talking in the future. Next year, no. Next year, no. I don't think so. Not even next year. It's a few years. So fluke, by dictionary definition standards, an unlikely chance occurs,
Starting point is 02:19:27 especially a surprising piece of luck. No, I don't think that happens. Well, they got lucky and B got hurt. That's about it. Exactly. They'll be back in the same position. But that's it, though. Only that.
Starting point is 02:19:37 Because some of these guys are saying if other teams were healthier. You can say the same thing about Indiana. Yeah, I'm going to say if Tyrese wasn't limping and limping. No, I'm I'm just a know what I'm saying is you can say the same thing Right in there where they beat Milwaukee. Yeah, like they're lucky honest was hurt Like so we asked the chat are the Knicks a fluke you can't guard me over 3,000 votes 63 percent said no
Starting point is 02:20:01 Don't get you know that you can't guard me. So what is you know that you can't guard me, I don't worry. So what is the Knicks' window if they can keep this core group together quickly? It's over. This is the window. The window is now. The window is now. So then. See, that's why I said you use. It would be a fluke.
Starting point is 02:20:16 Yeah, that's why I said you use. You're using it in real time. He's using it in the future. He's saying it. Right now, it is not a fluke. He's saying what they're doing this year. They still could have lost. There's an unlikely chance occurrence that will not continue in the future. He's saying it right now They're doing this year. They could have lost is an unlikely chance occurrence that will not continue in the future No right now in present time is not a fluke
Starting point is 02:20:35 But next year if the team has a championship window is that a fluke The window is right here. It's your window. They have the champion. They don't have a chance right now They the people who they get not getting what this is fine The window is right now. You said championship window? They don't have a championship window. It's right now. It depends on who they get. They're not getting what a fluke means. This is Pat. This is future tense. He's talking future tense.
Starting point is 02:20:58 He's saying they won't replicate what they did. No, they will not replicate it next year if everyone's healthy. But isn't that a hypothetical? That's what I said. We don't know. I just said that we don't know. Word of the day, hypothetical. He's not as hypothetical as I am. That's what I said. We need to all define... I know you're confusing me.
Starting point is 02:21:09 Word of the day is hypothetical and fluke. So how can we say no if we know it's hypothetical? I just said we don't know. It all comes back. No, no, no. It all comes back. How can we say no? You said we don't know.
Starting point is 02:21:21 No, it's not going to happen. It's like that's a hypothetical thing. That means you do not currently know. Okay. I wasn't even asking that. But we we don't know that means we can't answer it I just said that would what you're looking at right now number two team in the East One game away from the Eastern Conference Finals if they can keep this core group together Do you feel like they could replicate the success they've had this season in future seasons? No regular season maybe, but once they get to the playoffs.
Starting point is 02:21:45 New York ain't gonna win. It's too expensive in New York. You know what the bad problem about something like this is? New York is back, man. You know what something like this is? Change my team like you. They're not a- To the Knicks.
Starting point is 02:21:56 Hell yeah. To the fucking Knicks. He's changing his team to the Knicks. You know what the problem with the Knicks is? They're having success, but when you look at their team, even if you put them back in, everybody back in, they're still missing something. So if they don't go out and get it, right, and they're like, we got to the Eastern Conference.
Starting point is 02:22:15 We don't need to change nothing. Don't be that team. Right? You still go out there and try to improve because you can't bank on people getting hurt. So the fact that they got hurt, good for you. Don't be Milwaukee when they won a championship, right? You still got to improve your team.
Starting point is 02:22:34 So you look at it and say, all right, we have Josh Hart. We have Devin Chinzo. I still need to upgrade. Now when I upgrade, like if I get a two, if I get a Klay Thompson, and then OG is there, and you got, you know, Randall coming back,
Starting point is 02:22:52 whoo, I got a better, yeah, hell yeah, I got a better chance. But if you think you're going to keep three guards under six, four, and you think you're going to keep moving, I mean, I'm sorry, that's not going to happen.
Starting point is 02:23:06 That's a stupid GM right there if that happens. Like what Boston did. But right now, they're brilliant. We just got to see what happens this summer to give them to see if they can make it back. Well, they'll have some decisions to make. Some bread will need to be broke. You know how expensive it is? You know how expensive it would be to have a New York parade for the Knicks?
Starting point is 02:23:24 They ain't trying to pay that. What do you mean? New York has a parade every game they win. Who won the matchup between Maxie and Brunson? Who is currently in the playoffs still? Brunson and Halliburton. Who won that matchup? We will find out a lot more this Friday.
Starting point is 02:23:42 It's a hypothetical, so I'm going to just throw that out there. Who wins between Brunson and Dame? Brunson and who? Dame. Wins what? The matchup. A one-on-one? No, the matchup between the two teams. Hypothetical. Are you saying teams? I don't know.
Starting point is 02:23:58 Take a hypothetical guess. With the Bucs squad that played against the Pacers? Yes. That Bucs squad that played against the Pacers. Yes. Okay. That Bucs squad played against the Pacers. Instead of the Pacers, it was the Knicks. Who wins that matchup?
Starting point is 02:24:11 And Giannis is playing? Is Randall and OG playing? No. Just the teams that we got right now. Oh, well, then Brunson then because Dame was hurt. Because Dame was hurt. So, Brunson walking through three of the lead guards in the East. Dame is hurt.
Starting point is 02:24:27 Dame had a – he missed again. He's hurt. So, Runston's walking through three of the lead guards in the East. Dame is hurt. Dame had a, he missed again. He's hurt. So, of course, he's going to have a better. Is he playing? Is he playing? Dame is healthy and Dame is not hurt. Dame is playing. Oh, Dame is healthy.
Starting point is 02:24:36 No, wait, wait. Are we hypothetically making everybody healthy? But the guys. No, no, no, no, no. Because Dame got hurt that one game, bro. Come on. I'm going to hypothetically make everybody healthy, or we're going to pretend nothing. I'm just talking about the matchup.
Starting point is 02:24:47 I'm just talking about the matchup between two players. We don't know. They're hurt. Okay, since y'all don't know. We don't know. I'm going to say Brunson, but y'all are going to say nothing. All right? So Brunson has walked through all the matchups on the East, right?
Starting point is 02:24:58 So what other team do you bring in that's going to give New York a challenge with the Brunson matchup? Bring Randall back. Bring Mitchell back. You got Giannis and you got Embiid being the two X factors, right? You bring Randall back, then Brunson is not doing it. He's not going to have the ball in his hands like that. He's not scoring 40 all the time because there's other players. Yeah, he's not going to have the ball in his hands like that.
Starting point is 02:25:20 Keep your hypothetical hyperlink. You don't want hypothetical. If you want hypothetical, the Knicks are not't want hypotetic. You want hypothetic? Nicks is not even here you made it Hypothetically Brunson is gonna average right? These niggas 46 times Other two stars Okay, he's crazy man, I. Don't make me say it again.
Starting point is 02:25:47 Is it fucking obvious that you niggas be scraping this hard? Scraping what? Scraping the fucking ground for bubble gum. If everybody was healthy, the niggas wouldn't even be in this position. You're not supposed to eat
Starting point is 02:26:04 the bubble gum off the ground, bro. Stop scraping for the bubble gum. If he's healthy, Brunson is not going to be shooting 35 shots because he has other players with him. They have a better chance to win. So we don't know if he can beat his matchup because he got his
Starting point is 02:26:19 teammates there. You just said that. Now you don't want to talk about now move the goalposts. Everyone's about, now move the goalposts. Everyone's healthy. Now move the goalposts. That's what you did. No, I was talking about the matchup before everyone was healthy. If you niggas will listen, it's just stop trying to be right all the fucking time.
Starting point is 02:26:34 No, if you listen to what you say. Listen, I was talking about before the health. Brunson by himself beats all the matchups. Now you bring in everybody healthy. They have a better chance as a team to win in advance. So Dame is by himself too and Bress is by himself.
Starting point is 02:26:50 Or does Dame have Giannis? Dame doesn't have because he didn't have Giannis this year without the injuries. I'm talking about without the injuries. We don't know. We didn't see it. So with the injuries, you've seen Dame by himself against the Indiana Pacers. The one game he was hurt. He was hurt the one game. He was hurt
Starting point is 02:27:05 He was hurt one day. Chris Middleton was her he was on one fucking leg. Here we go I mean, what are we doing about raping bro? No nigga you scraped. No, we have a real crazy Station in North you cuz you're me it's not a conversation cuz it's not real Why can we all get off our phones, class? All right, man. I'm going to the Internet. Mostly fans, man. Let's move on to mostly fans.
Starting point is 02:27:31 Y'all want to see some damn body. Y'all want to see some damn body. Because when Dame was healthy, he 35, 34, 28, 28. Those are his four games. This year. Yeah And he missed two games injury. So 35 34 28 28 Who is it gives Orlando magic who's that again? The Pacers a pacer. I don't know the Pacers. The Pacers. I don't know. They played the Pacers. I thought he was calling out Nick's numbers.
Starting point is 02:28:07 I thought he was saying that's the thing. I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Because you probably thought that was Nick's numbers. Let's move on. We're talking about Brunson. To our first Mostly Fans question, from underdog user Zedarian. With all the NFL versus NBA debates, if you guys didn't play basketball and play football,
Starting point is 02:28:24 what position would you guys be I'm thinking McKenzie a linebacker Gill that wide receiver Brandon at corner king in that defensive line Josiah offensive line what y'all thinking I'm not I'm not sure leader. I never had a bit. That was a very sexy statement You corner you quarterback Giants I can be the kicker. Hey, don't do this. You're like the icebox, bro. I can be the kicker. No, the icebox was fire. Icebox was a killer. Okay, so.
Starting point is 02:29:08 I can be the kicker. Bro, low giants. You're going to be clearly a picture leader because I don't want to get tackled. You're absolutely right. No, I'm pretty. I'm pretty because you're the pretty girl. We don't want you to get tackled. We want to keep you pretty.
Starting point is 02:29:17 Right. First of all, you want to be the kicker. We know you're not kicking past 20 feet or 20 yards. Right? So, obviously, they got an advantage the whole game. But y'all are not kicking. I're not kicking past 20 feet or 20 yards, right? So obviously they got an advantage the whole game. But y'all not kicking the whole game. Why y'all laughing? Y'all not going to be good at y'all's positions either.
Starting point is 02:29:32 You crazy. You crazy. You crazy. He got me safety. He got hot hands hanging. We got hot hands hanging over here. How tall is the average DB? How tall is the average DB?
Starting point is 02:29:40 6'1". Oh. I'm sorry. How tall is the average DB? 6'1". Oh. I'm sorry. I can't be the person that... It's a great argument. Whatever that is.
Starting point is 02:29:52 You know what happens? Hold it. You know what happens with the football, basketball debate? It's stupid. The reason is all the athletes they try to use play basketball for football. Exactly. So, yeah, the reason they're very, very good in your sport is because they have dual sports inside of them. That means
Starting point is 02:30:12 they have basketball eye hand coordination, which gives them an advantage over there. Football players who played football in middle school and high school, they have an advantage in basketball because they're more explosive, they know how to hit the hole, they can jump like crazy. So the dual sports help both. Now if you say no one has no experience in nothing,
Starting point is 02:30:36 that means you take 30 football players who don't have no basketball experience. We can't give you skill. There's no skill we can give you. The skill started when we were little. You take 30 basketball players and say, hey, we're going to put you we already have the skill.
Starting point is 02:30:54 You can't use, well, y'all can't take hits. That's irrelevant. Because you can give us strength. We can give you skill. You can give me strength. You can give me routes. You can give me strength. You can give me routes. You can say, hey, hey, we're already
Starting point is 02:31:10 two... For basketball skill? No, certain positions require skill. Football positions require high level skill. Have you seen just football players try to shoot and try to land after a dunk? Because everything is here and here.
Starting point is 02:31:25 So to be skillful and dribble, that's another motor. What is this debate, though, really? It's soft. Basically, they're saying we're too soft. What was the debate? They're saying that we're too soft to play. If we play one-on-one, the football players are like, if you put a team of five-on-five of football players
Starting point is 02:31:42 versus... Because they're thinking... I don't understand what Oklahoma Drew... I don't understand what this debate is about. They're thinking strength. They're thinking the strength is... It's like they're being cavemans to themselves. You're basically saying your sport
Starting point is 02:31:55 is all just muscle. Yeah. Like, Ocho Cinco, he's McDonald's every day. He was fastening everybody. He's skillful. He's skillful, right? He is skillful. He used his skill to get past you with his size. I like Ocho up.
Starting point is 02:32:12 No, what I'm saying is you think about Ocho and T.O., that's us. We're all 6'6", 6'4", 6'5". So we already have the height. We already have the jumping of it. We have the eye we already have the jump in it, but we have the I hand coordination So you're telling us if you make us stronger to take hits and you put us in the red zone and everyone is 6 1 DB We will change your DB side period now if we're DB's ourselves or we're safeties We're bigger worse like you're just using well, we'll just knock y'all out. Yeah
Starting point is 02:32:45 Well, yeah, stop using your strength because they don't knock each other out. Right exactly. They don't even knock each other I'm making Russell rust book out there. No, but they're already before what I'm saying is stop using Something that you can give us you can give me weight room training here. I can't give you skill skill I had Z. Yeah, but like Hezzy, a step back. You can find a position for a Giannis. Right? For sure. You can find, okay, John Moran, alright, take off and I'm
Starting point is 02:33:14 going to throw it. What 6'1 DB is jumping like, no, come on. You teach me to get off the line and go, but it's going to take some teaching. But the athleticism of it is what we're saying. We're so athletic.
Starting point is 02:33:31 We have all-around athleticism. Our sport, you can put us in stuff. You can put us in tennis and say, all right, we're going to teach you how to play tennis. Football, we can't, unless you have basketball background, we can't put you in a sport and say, all right, you're going to be a point guard. All right, you're going to be this. guard, or you're going to be this, or we need you as a scorer. That's not a thing. That's fair. That's all it is. It takes years for us to develop those skills. Like when you're talking about, we can't be
Starting point is 02:33:53 Patrick Beverly? Well, Patrick Beverly averaged 37 in high school. He averaged 30, he led Chicago in scoring, and then this is how he has to play now, because more skillful players. And the way they play, like, they get tired fast, too. They get way tired way faster than us. Short bursts, though.
Starting point is 02:34:08 Like, you can't teach me ultra single fucking footwork. He learned that when he was little. But if you say just run straight or do a slant, catch that bitch and drop, I can do that. I'm going to lock him up, bro, right now. Nah. Lock him up right now. He's like AI. He's quick and fast.
Starting point is 02:34:22 That's fine. Right now, off the line right now, if we did a 15 route to test, he ain't going. And he's quick and fast. That's why I'm right now off the line right now If we did a 15 route to that one, then he's any 6-3. That's why I have to be the average point guard is 60 And that would be the perfect position. What a football position which one but it's part of the team She still mess you became a cheerleader. No, you became a kicker that like what is this shit? They call it? Uh, she's a little Giants. No, no, no no you're trying to get the offsides you're offside kicker The whole side kick on side kick because you can't know it's like it cuz you can't kick it long Yeah, but where did that theory come up from Austin Rivers Austin Rivers? He said we're better athletes. What we are for sure We're gonna worked out against who up like like like work out with football players, bro. They don't last
Starting point is 02:35:11 Okay better overall athlete raw athleticism way From the Packers this thing was throwing up the first like bro. You're not like God going. He was going way hard basketball and football are different because We turn away they don't Be very good basketball players football players beat when I'm lifting weights and doing that football training You are not gonna be a good football player because there's all but that's what said because it's all physical Ugly is it's physical physical. Football players are ugly. It's physical.
Starting point is 02:35:49 Now, I've seen one specimen of a man. One specimen. One specimen of a man. That's why we get all the women, and y'all got to have our leftovers. That is why you have to wear helmets. Because I got to wear helmets. You got to hide your faces. And on that note. No, no.
Starting point is 02:36:00 No. Go make your last point. It's your show. I did. You ever did Runyon? You did Runyon? You ever did Runyon? Runyon you did run you Give it a run you can you get Antonio
Starting point is 02:36:10 Hit me that's when I when I'm talking about the best athlete I've ever seen in my life Crow Antonio Antonio Cromartie? We did Runyon. I'm in shape. For fat football players. He took off. Took off. Like he was running a 100 up a hill.
Starting point is 02:36:42 Up the hill. I gave up. I'm not gave up I Couldn't I could not catch it like he took just boom just like he was on flat lay And I'm sitting here like yo what? Like this is crazy. He finished he finished the shit 21 minutes before me Now was it I was in second place. This motherfucker done stretched, ate, sitting in the car,
Starting point is 02:37:11 and I'm like, yo, what the hell is this, dog? I think soccer players are the best athletes, though. Can they jump, though? They can jump? Yeah, they can jump. But they're little. They're little guys. But somebody like Cromartie and T.O. and those guys, they're different. For sureartie and like Tio and those guys Not the opposite a different short for sure. Yeah, for sure. Like Tio who? Yeah, that's what it is.
Starting point is 02:37:29 Yeah, Tio, he used to hoop with us. He can't even get 225 in the weight room though. Damn. Little arms. Little arms. Yeah. Look, we call them DBs. One thing, one thing I can-
Starting point is 02:37:39 You know what we call them DBs? We call them dirty butts. First of all- Look at the little dirty butts. You got little legs, bro. First of all You ain't got no weight you gonna wait around there first of all have you first of all, I'm the flag I'm the flag football champion. Go. I'm sure young Matt Barnes all of them I'm sure it's like football. I think about it. I don't care tackle whatever one thing about it. We go 99 route
Starting point is 02:38:00 I'm catching it. I don't give a who it is.
