Welcome back to Gills Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa! It's Juneteenth so the staff went all out for the decorations for the holidays, holiday season. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Man, this's holiday season. It's like Christmas. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Man, it's like Christmas.
Starting point is 00:01:05 As you can see, Josiah and Gilbert, they're off handling business with the folks at Underdog. I'm two-time NBA champion Norris Cole filling in as your host for the day. Yes, sir! Yeah! Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:01:19 We got, to my left, NBA champion of the world, Swaggy P Nick Young. Two games today, it's two. Okay, okay, to my other side, we got the man they call money making sunny, NCAA champ, Rashad McCann is in the house. Long group, baby. Back to my left, representing Tough Crowd University, we have Brandon Jennings. And then of course to my right, the distinguished gentleman from Oak Cliff, the former number
Starting point is 00:01:55 one pick, Kenyon Martin. What's up? Yes sir, yes sir. For all the fans- Real quick, Kenyon, you happy to be back in that seat today as opposed to where you were yesterday? I know that was cool, but yeah, I like my seat. If I could have hosted from this seat, it would have been a lot of guys.
Starting point is 00:02:14 I got you, OG. Don't worry about it. I got you today. He got it good right there. For all the fans, we have two viewing options for the show, our traditional version and a vertical mobile version. Pick whichever one you want to watch. Here's what's cracking in the arena today.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Game six of the NBA Finals tonight. Will the Thunder win their first title in franchise history or will the Pacers push it to a game seven? We'll see what happens. The Lakers sold for $10 billion. What does that mean for the future of the purple and gold? Big bank, take a little bank. And the Sixers reportedly are looking to run them back
Starting point is 00:02:50 with the big three. Is that a good idea or nah? Before we get into all that, if you wanna get your bread up with Underdog, sign up and use promo code GIL to receive up to $1,000 in bonus credit and a special pick on. Gil isn't here today, but he's sending his game six pick with the partner pack on the Underdog app. So we got Shay Gil, higher, two and a half blocks and steals.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Pascal Siakam, higher than 17 and a half points. Alex Caruso, higher than two and a half blocks and steals. And Aaron Naismith, higher than one and a half points. Alex Caruso, higher than two and a half blocks and steals. And Aaron Naismith, higher than one and a half threes. What do y'all think about them picks? He got Caruso in his pack now. That's crazy. Give it up for Caruso.
Starting point is 00:03:36 He locked in. The corners is moving up, boy. The corners is moving up. Dependable. What's the safest pick up there, though? Pascal Sialka. 17-9. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:47 They don't stand a chance if they don't have 17-9. Yeah, he wide score 18 points for them to have a chance to win. Both having Shaken and Alex Caruso with blocks and steals is tricky. Yeah. Let's see what the stand in the polls. Cause that's five between them. They gotta get five between them.
Starting point is 00:04:04 So that's a lot. That's a lot. It is a lot. Are you riding with Gills partner pack? Let us know in the post. 71% they riding, 29% say they fading. If you like our picks and want to ride with them, head to the underdog app.
Starting point is 00:04:19 And you can get the audio versions of every episode of Gills arena on Spotify, Apple, and whatever you get your podcasts. We mentioned this at the end of the show yesterday but now we have more detail so we can get into it. Yesterday the Buss family agreed to sell majority ownership of the Lakers to Mark Walter for ten billion dollars. That's the highest ever for a sports franchise here in the United States. Walter also owns the Dodgers so So you know he would be willing to invest in the team. But part of the agreement is that Jeannie Buss
Starting point is 00:04:49 will still run the team for the foreseeable future. Our very own Gilbert Arenas gave his instant reaction on social media. I want to say congratulations, Jeannie Buss, but as selfish as I am, $7 billion, that means he's about to raise the prices to get it back. Can you just hold on for about 12 minutes so I can renew my tickets at the price that you have them at?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Because I know the person who spends $7 billion knows Bleed's about to be $500, $600 to go see Luca and LeBron. Okay so just hold off for about 22 minutes so I can get it in but congratulations again I'm still gonna be a Laker fan right cuz they don't it don't it don't cost me nothing from home and I can still watch the game from home but I want to I want to keep my seats. So just tap it. Hold on, Laker Nation. We got to act fast. So Gil, obviously he was joking.
Starting point is 00:05:52 But the ticket prices probably will be going up. So do you think $10 billion was too much, too little, or just right to purchase the Lakers? Swaggy, what you think? I think it was, it could have paid for more. It could have been more, you know. It's the Lakers. It's LA.
Starting point is 00:06:11 One of the best franchises ever. Probably the best franchise ever. And he got Luca. He got Luca. He got LeBron for a couple more years maybe. He got Brony. You gonna make that money back. And you just seen what he did with the Dodgers. What's up, Sonny?
Starting point is 00:06:30 Oh, Tony? Oh, Tony? Yeah. He threw a bag out there. Man. BJ, what you got? I think it's a win for the Bust family. I mean, when you're watching winning time
Starting point is 00:06:40 and you're seeing everything they had to go through to hit the team to where it is and Genie helping. So we went for them, 10 billion, all the kids get a billion dollars. I mean, you know, they are the standard of what it is to have a great franchise. So being from LA, you know, I'm happy for the Bus family. Speaking for the Bus family, Genie's dad, Jerry Bus,
Starting point is 00:07:00 bought the Lakers in 1979 for $67.5 million in a deal that also included the Los Angeles Kings and the Forum. The franchise has now won 11 championships since 1980, the most of any team in that span. So was it too much, too little, or just right, OG? It's what you pay for, it's what it is. It is what it is. Whatever the valuation came back as, that's what it is. It is what it is. So whatever the valuation came back as,
Starting point is 00:07:26 that's what it is. Do you think they negotiated or he came in like, hey, 10 billion, I want it? Whatever the number was, it was. If it was, yeah. There's no, when you talking about them numbers, man, that's... Right?
Starting point is 00:07:42 Nine, ten, eight, let's, right? It doesn't really matter. You're talking them kind of numbers. I can't even come to the end. It wouldn't hurt not having that bus name though. No, it doesn't, I'm saying they still involved, right? They still involved, but this dude, like,
Starting point is 00:07:59 I'm saying minority owners, but having someone who's a businessman, a sportsman, he owned a Dodge, you see what they've been doing over there just coming off of World Series win and he's not afraid to open a checkbook. So, but over here is a luxury tax and there's an apron and fur, so there's certain things that in basketball that doesn't apply in baseball, but he's willing to open the checkbook, so. What you think, Shawty? Total jack move.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Who over there with the Dodgers? Magic. Huh? Magic. Who? Magic. Magic. Voila.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Took over, right? Voila. He in that group. Voila. Talk to him. Huh? Take over. I ain't thinking about that.
Starting point is 00:08:44 You ain't never seen no abra Kadabra shit happen before. You're about to see it in real time. How much he get though? We're gonna turn it back to Staples Center. We're gonna turn it back. We're gonna bring it back. Lakers. We're gonna bring the Lakers back.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Okay. Magic gonna take over. What's the legacy though? What's the legacy of the Buss family owning the Lakers? Great history out of the game, man man and the sport. Greatness. They changed the game. Like yeah. Laker girls like it's just like that was Dr. Buss' idea so it's it's entertainment man at his finest right. Quartzside sees Laker girls so he showed people that this is entertainment right.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Us being in Hollywood LA everything else is entertainment, right? Us being in Hollywood, LA, everything else is entertainment around us. So this should be, this should fit that as well. So that's exactly what it would. Inside the arena, like the club. So that's dope. Is that the best ownership group in American sports history?
Starting point is 00:09:37 Andy Kep and then the family. Don't know that, but I haven't done enough deep dives. Yeah, yeah, Yankees. Yeah, Yankees, they are definitely up there. So there's people who've owned NFL franchises since they've been in existence, right? Like the Roons, like the... As far as like the entertainment side.
Starting point is 00:09:55 The Roons, like the Roons. The entertainment side, yeah. You don't know like... The entertainment side, yeah. Okay, well let's look ahead, what's next for the team? What y'all think moving forward will this affect? Free agents coming, free agents leaving? Check, it's an ahead. What's next for the team? Which I think moving forward with this effect, free agents come in, free agents leave in. Check. Oh, it's an open checkbook, man.
Starting point is 00:10:09 As much as as much as he can open it, it's open. All right. He's proven that he's willing to pay. So for real, he's proven. So you've got Mookie Betts over there. You got Otani. You got Otani with a bill. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? When Matt Kemp was there, it was just they've been. It's a good hand. They spin.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Magic Johnson. I hear you,... It's a good hand. They've been. Magic Johnson. I hear you, but it's just me. He took care of Magic. He about to go make some moves. Bust took care of Magic. Watch. Watch. Watch, watch what?
Starting point is 00:10:36 Y'all think everybody think they saved. I mean, Jenny still. Moves about to be made. No, they're not. The fact that he saved is gonna take care of him. The second apron is still like this, right? Jenny still running the team. Yeah, matter of fact, he said he was going to take care of it. Jenny still running the team. And you know Magic loves Jenny.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Listen, Jenny been waiting to hand it over to Magic. She been trying to figure out a way to hand it over to Magic. How can I do it without just firing Rob, just being like, ah, because I got to get rid of it. Hey, Magic, won't your group come in here? What? But Buzz said he was going to take care of Magic, though. We saw the guy, Magic, get in front of the office.
Starting point is 00:11:05 That ain't go work. Magic been his, like, everything. Magic a businessman. Let him be a businessman. Magic been sitting by. Let's not have him over there trying to make basketball decisions. He tired of tweeting.
Starting point is 00:11:13 We saw where that went. He tired of tweeting. You just in the group, bro. You just in the group. You do what you do. You continue to be the businessman you are. You broke an easy year. You're in the room.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Do beat. Yeah, smile. Smile. He got brown over. The businessman that we know you are. got run over that front office shit. What did you go? Smile tweet The magic way to be a lake all in these rooms and hey, wanna be a Lakers? All day long. Do magic wins. Do magic wins. Everything is touchy wins. Is magic one of the most winningest Lakers?
Starting point is 00:11:49 Yeah, themself? On and off the court. On and off the court. Magic Johnson is just, why you think he reappearing on TV? He don't show back up unless he making moves. He about to take over the Lakers. Y'all ain't paying attention.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Those seats at the Lakers. Man, he got Lebron. Magic Johnson, man. But they not trading the one and two's, though. He going to get whatever he want. He got a whole big checkbook. But they ain't getting one of them. He let Luca go, man.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Luca needs to get it. Like we said yesterday, it must be Martin Borgman. He said Luca better get in shape. Superstars put more for the bodies and seats. And they got two of them. So ain't neither one of them going nowhere. There's a lot of superstars out there that take this check. Not not them too though. So will they be in contention this year? Who Lakers? As current constructed no, okay. They got loose big I need some help
Starting point is 00:12:36 Who they still was three at the end of the lot? They still didn't have NBA players name out there a lot Lakers with the three-seat it was They still in that three seed. NBA players name out there a lot. A lot. That was what they need. Oh they were? Lakers was the three seed and they was without really playing together. So they could get past the second round. They could get past the first round if they don't make no move. Not with this team.
Starting point is 00:12:57 If they don't make no move and just jell in a full year together. I don't know man. Carry them to the three seed again. You don't think these other teams getting better? Yeah, that's what I do. All the other teams. What other teams is getting better? The young teams. All the three teams. Besides OKC. No, Houston. OKC. San Antonio. All these teams gonna be better. Dallas. Dallas gonna be better. They still
Starting point is 00:13:20 got scared, jailing green that don't know how he gonna play unless the coach let him play sometimes. So we not worried. One guy. You're not worried. You're talking about one guy. You need him. But you talking about one guy. You need that one guy.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Yeah, but you talk about- The rest of the West ain't gonna be listening. I'm telling you. Denver don't look the same. The West is up for grabs. They could be at three seeded. Denver don't look the same. They could be in the play.
Starting point is 00:13:42 The Lakers do gotta make a move though. Denver make a move. They're gonna get better. But if they don't, I'm saying if they don't. They're not gonna stay the same. I promise you. I know they not. The Lakers not gonna stay the same though. But as you said, if they stay the same.
Starting point is 00:13:50 If we start the season off, everybody stay the same. You think they won't get past the first round? Depends on who y'all play in the first round. Matchups. Yeah. Who you play. Who you play. Who you play.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Don't be studded. Don't be studded. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know where to put the smoke. Now you know? Who you playing? Who you playing? Who you playing? Who you playing?
Starting point is 00:14:06 Don't be studying. Don't be studying. Now you're on that smoke. Now you're on that smoke. Now you're on that smoke. Now you don't want to play Minnesota. Now you don't want to play Minnesota. You don't want to play Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:14:14 You played Denver though. No. No. You know what he been doing? No, no, no, no, no, no. You ain't got nobody for that. You know what he been doing? You ain't got nothing for that.
Starting point is 00:14:22 You want to look up these last four years? No, but. Huh? What happened last year? In the playoffs? No, nobody versus the Lakers in the playoffs. You wanna look them numbers up? We ain't worried about them. His eyes light up when he see that purple and gold out there in the playoffs. He like, oh, this is who?
Starting point is 00:14:33 He got Luka. Hey, where the daycare at? So, I think- Only can't be worried about what Luka is saying. Question, I think before they bought this team, do you think ownership acts, are they gonna be able to keep LeBron and Luka? Or you think they bought the team not worrying about they can't retain LeBron and Luca? Or do you think they bought the team, not worrying about they can retain LeBron and Luca?
Starting point is 00:14:47 I ain't worried about that. Because you're the Lakers, so they're always going to be able to get somebody. You're the Lakers, so you're going to have to get them. Is that a question you would have asked them? I would have asked that question. Yeah, but if you put Luca and Bron out there, somebody's going to be able to get them.
Starting point is 00:15:03 I'm like, you're not Luca? These dudes going to? Like, you're not Luca, Luca's gonna be here. Bron gonna retire Laker. He wants to. Your future is Luca. He still puts bodies in the seats. You need more than that. But he still... The jersey sales...
Starting point is 00:15:20 He's still first team all NBA player. So they can't give him the max. Who? Luca. Nobody can, though. No. They can. So let's say they don't agree to terms. They might want to go short term.
Starting point is 00:15:33 That's what I'm saying. So what happens if the term is not met and Luca like, that man ain't going nowhere, bro. He ain't going nowhere. That's what I say. Can you walk away from that? Can you walk away from the Lakers? That man ain't going nowhere, bruh.
Starting point is 00:15:46 He ain't going nowhere. Cause they got Dave Garner. If they don't give you what you can. He can though. Could a player walk away from the Lakers right now? They can give him whatever home under the table. Could you walk away from the Lakers? This man just gave a baseball player 700 meals.
Starting point is 00:15:57 I know, but he can't give him max. Just for, no, no. They can't give Luke a max. They can't give Luke a max. They can't give him the super max. They can't give him the super max. They can't give him three-fifths. Whatever the top number is, the penny of money is under that, he's going to give it to him. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:16:11 What is it? Hey, hey, hey. What's the max? Not the super max, what's the max of Luca's game? The penny of max right up under the super max, that's what that number going to be. To the penny. To the penny Hey to the penny Well, I'm still having so that you get the legacy somebody else to them. Yeah
Starting point is 00:16:30 If he is willing to pay whatever that number is, what's the tax? What's the luxury tax for teams right now? Yeah, no for sure. I mean, we need to find out the look. Yeah, I'm gonna spend the money So they'll go over the luxury He's allowed to do yeah,'s going to do to win. You should. But that's what the Lakers been doing. They've been penny pinching the last six years. Well, they have to do something bad.
Starting point is 00:16:52 So you can go into the luxury tax to sign a player you already have. It's just a choice the franchise has to make. But extension options for Luca, four years, $229. If he waits till next summer, five years, 295. Or he could do, if you want to do the shorter deal, he could do three for 165. And then go for the Supermax you assume he would
Starting point is 00:17:13 be eligible for in 2029. That's the move right there. That's chop changed him. Keeping for three years. Chop changed him. See what he can do in three years. That's the job for the Bustlehead. When you get to sign him to the extension for the do in three years. After three. Because if he plays 65 games,
Starting point is 00:17:29 make sure he's eligible for the Superma. Because he's going to be a first, second. First team is off for sure. So every year, every year, every year. But he's eligible though. He was eligible this year. No, he didn't play 65 games. And he got traded. When you get traded, you lose your bird rights. You lose your bird rights. You lose your bird rights. He didn't play 65 games. So this year he can be re-eligible.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Yeah, yeah. To go after the season. After this next season. You might as well play it out before the season. The first team. Oh, so the whole next season with the Lakers is kind of like a fuck around season. The Lakers going to go into that love you package.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Oh, they did it with Steph and Clay. So they can really use this next year to really bring in some experimental pieces just for him. They going to win the championship. They going to win the championship. Listen, if you want the longevity, be with Luca. Lakers is winning the championship. If you want the longevity, be, you can be with Luke. If you want the long jammy, you can be with Luke. If you want it to be like,
Starting point is 00:18:26 you can bring another jammy. Young, athletic, rim protecting, lob catching bigs, man. You need two of them for sure. You need a couple shooters. You need athletes at these positions. You need people that arm go to positions that take the pressure off LeBron, let him
Starting point is 00:18:45 go do what he do, let him be the facilitator when he need to be, let him play the forward or whatever, let Luca do it, but you gotta put some pieces that fit what these two dudes need right now to be successful. To do that he's gotta go on the luxury tag. You need structure. Next season? There's a lot of them. Next season they gonna win the tip next season?
Starting point is 00:19:01 There's a lot of them. You need structure. Y'all hear them on the side? You need structure. In the next two's a lot of them. Next season? They going to win the tip next season? You need structure. Y'all hear them on the side? You need structure. In the next two years, I got them.
Starting point is 00:19:10 You need structure. Next two years, okay. Coaching structure. That's what the Lakers need. They don't need nothing else but a system. You're going to make all that money back to… If they go out and get all that and don't got no system, they look like they been looking. Like every other team look, running around, trying to figure out who play what role.
Starting point is 00:19:29 They look like the fucking Phoenix Suns. They look like the third season. It's tough. Right? So you're out there and you're looking like everybody don't got no role. Unless you want to turn fours and shit. Man, we need to figure out what the system is. What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:19:44 What you think? You got to develop something because you can't play around these two dudes, right? We need to figure out what the system is. What are we doing? You gotta develop something because you can't play around these two dudes, right? These two passers, playmakers. So what kind of offense are you putting in instead of pick and roll, rise and roll? Like that shit is just old, right? And we do it every time down now. And it's like if you're a coach and you don't got no real sets, it's like run this set for LeBron to get the ball here. They gotta double him.
Starting point is 00:20:09 He can pass out of this shit. Well, we gonna get a bucket and one. What about LeBron? LeBron ain't never looked like Phoenix in none of his careers, but it's probably. Okay, you gonna play that role today? How many? You gonna play that role today?
Starting point is 00:20:19 None of his teams have. You gonna stand on it? None of his teams have. I just seen you turn into, I just seen you turn into it. I was like, damn, you just, you just stand on it? I just seen you turn into it. I just see you turn into it. I was like damn you just stand on it And we got the polls 18% said too much 19% said too little. Oh the poll was did they make the right move? Was it too much too little or the right price for the sales price?
Starting point is 00:20:41 63% said it was the right price 19% said it was too little 18% said it was the right price. 19% said it was too little. 18% said it was too much. So the right price. That's it. I mean, you got $10? $10, deal. That's a plus. Man just wanted to listen, bro.
Starting point is 00:20:55 That's a plus. We're in the plus. Steve, what you got for the promo? Today's podcast is sponsored by Ro. Ro's Sparks are a two-in-one prescription treatment for guys who want more control over their erections. They hit the bloodstream faster because they dissolve under the tongue.

Back to you, Norris on the Sixers.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yes, sir. Let's move on to the 76ers who are coming off a disappointing season. We saw their big three of Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey playing just 15 games together due to various injuries. According to a report from Max Stern, the Sixers are planning to run it back with their big three to give them another chance to contend for a championship. Is it smart for the Sixers to run it back with their big three, or should they be moving on?
Starting point is 00:22:30 What y'all think couch? Kmart what you got? They didn't play enough to know what they got together right they didn't play enough basketball games to know exactly what they have. Jared McCain was out. They decided they needed to make moves to get off some of that money last year, so they really don't know what they have Yeah, I can hear I hear the show too. Yeah they um Yeah Yeah, no, but they know they don't know what they have as a unit yet So for them to bring it back, I think it only makes sense. You got a lot of money invested in those three players of money invested in those three players. Um, putting the right pieces around to make sense in order to hold
Starting point is 00:23:11 and joy all accountable. Yeah, I'm ready to go. It's the first thing, so. What you think? What the fuck is going on back there? Hey, yo, quiet on the set. Shadi talking right now. What you got Shadi?
Starting point is 00:23:28 What was the question? Is it smart for the Sixers to run it back? With PG, Joel and Tyrese. Is it smart for them to run it back? Did he ask you? Yeah Nah But you ain't got no choice Talk about it. Really you don't really got no choice. You're not gonna move none of these pieces
Starting point is 00:23:56 Okay, so and it's only move a piece of Tyrese max and you can't do that So I mean you just wouldn't it wouldn't yes, you can't just as you can't you just can't I mean you just wouldn't. It wouldn't make sense. You can't. You just can't. So I mean the conversation is just are they gonna under achieve more? You know are they gonna under achieve and I think if they keep under achieving um it's gonna be a detriment to the city of Philadelphia. They're gonna keep being disappointed. Keep going through the process. Just the city of Philadelphia. They're going to keep being disappointed. Keep going through the process. Just need some killers, really.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Need some killers out there. Just want to go out there and represent what the energy of Philly is out there. Like the dog energy, that Allen Iverson energy, they haven't had that energy since. Like I think Maxie gives you a burst of that, but he ain't not, he don't give you that thuggish AI, that Charles Barkley, like that, ah,
Starting point is 00:24:50 that they missing that. And I think they waiting for that. They just need somebody to come in. Jimmy Butler, I think they felt a little bit, but it wasn't, still wasn't, ah, Russell Westbrook type shit. And I think none of those personalities fit that. And I think that's why they keep struggling to like,
Starting point is 00:25:10 get the, they struggle to get the city on their back cause they don't have nobody stepping out like. Are they the most disappointing teams so far? Like in the last five? Phoenix probably the number one. And then the Clippers before that, Clippers with PG. PG probably on two of them teams that should be doing shit. Should have been doing shit.
Starting point is 00:25:31 He actually on three teams because the OKC team, him, Russ, and what was that, Mello? Best season he ever had. Was that Mello? That was Mello, right? Yeah, I mean, they was killing. But the expectation was, shit, PG fresh off this fresh PG-13. What you think? Did they lose first round I think?
Starting point is 00:25:53 That OKC thing? Yeah, that's when they ain't been with the bye-bye. Smart to bring them back, what you think? I agree with what Kenyon said, because they don't know what they really have yet. They ain't played together, so I'll definitely run it back. to bring him back? Beach, what you think? I agree with what Kenyon said, because they don't know what they really have yet. They ain't played together, so I'll definitely run him back. They do have the talent. And B, when he is playing, when he is healthy, he's one of the best players in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:26:14 When Paul George is healthy and Tyrese, they all playing together, I think they'll be alright. How many years are we going to keep saying, if he's healthy? That's the question, because it's literally every single year. We were saying that in LA. I mean, I hope so. When he was in LA with the Clippers. I hope so. You know, getting themselves together.
Starting point is 00:26:29 I mean, but. For both of them, it's like, if they can stay healthy. It's been like that for like six straight years. That's what I'm saying. How do you run it back? You don't get enough games to see if they can really jail. Next year, you don't know if he's going to play that many games. He might do the, I'm not playing back to back.
Starting point is 00:26:45 So this is, from somebody who dealt with injuries and shit, right, I'm speaking for PG and Joel, right? I had to figure out something different during the summer. I had to do something different, right? Whatever it was, I had to do something different, coming off two microfractionfracture surgeries, had my patella repaired, like I had to do something different for his training in order to make sure that I could play. Right? I'm good at basketball already. See, this is the thing, man. Like people
Starting point is 00:27:18 get, these guys are so fucking caught up in numbers and not being available. Yeah. Right? For me, it was me being available. I sacrificed numbers and shit to be available. So to clear it up, you mean a cat brother say he played 32 games, averaged 30? Yeah. Instead of saying I played
Starting point is 00:27:38 55 or 60 games and I averaged 17. Yeah. Like, you gotta, like, I had to find a different way. That's the culture. That's the culture that it has become, that boxing culture, all that shit. I have missed so much time. These dudes have missed so much time, man.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Like, if this means something to you, you gotta find a different way. And then for me, okay, cool. It was, she free throws, spot jumpers, working on all that other shit I had to eliminate it but if they average 17 people would say but still but but you available but you're available so but if you explain this shit to people instead of being fucking hidden and like I don't want to answer questions and all these I did this in order for me to play
Starting point is 00:28:30 When I don't play you got shit So let me play let me do it this way Let me only play fucking 25 minutes a night so I can play 70 games available for the player yeah, so That's what I'm looking at what you say you're're like, all right, for the 17 points a game, my ego takes a hit because I'm coming down from 27. But this is the reason why I don't take a hit because that 17, those games I wasn't gonna be available and I stuck at that points per game.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Now I'm available and we win these games. But I might give you 30 seconds. But we lose the games I'm not available. We lose them games. Like 85% of the time. But what I do to stay available to regulate my point, I still give my team 17, 18 production. And I feel them other voice.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Look, no, no, not on chance. We win them games. And we still win. Now we go into the playoffs now. I might not get the credit of Being the 25 26 the game to do that and lead us but that 15 17 that I gave and I'm available Like you said, I'm available I'm still this guy. Yeah, I'm still this guy. I'm just doing less five in I'm just doing less. 25 in the playoffs because more time. And it's more days off.
Starting point is 00:29:47 But the thing is, them dudes have been all NBA players. Joel, Paul, they've been all NBA players. They want to win. So we get it, man. You're really good. You are really good at basketball. Nobody is questioning that. Quick break.
Starting point is 00:30:01 We're going to get back to that. But we have our guests. They in the house. They ready. Let's bring them in. Let's bring them in. Oh, quick break. We're going to get back to that. But we have our guests. They in the house. They ready. Let's bring them in. Let's bring them in. Oh, he's on Zoom.
Starting point is 00:30:09 He's on Zoom. There we go. Big Pert. Big Pert. What's good, big fella? Y'all got to tear him off before he comes to the ball. Big Pert, you can hear me? What's going on?
Starting point is 00:30:17 Hey, we sitting here talking about the Sixers. Should they run it back? Is it smart for them to run it back with they big three? Or should they move on to something different? What you think? Well, I don't think they have a fucking choice. They got them running back. They got them running back. They got them running back. They got them running back. They got them Sixers. Should they run it back? Is it smart for them to run it back with their big three?
Starting point is 00:30:25 Or should they move on to something different? What you think? Well, I don't think they have a fucking choice. They got to run it back. I think, you know, last year, you know, I got called everything but a child of God when I told them to shut Joel and B down and for, well, it was, yeah, like, you know, a season ago when he came back off the meniscus surgery and he went to play it in the postseason,
Starting point is 00:30:48 I was like, man, y'all should just shut him down, put a plan in place, and then have him ready for the regular season. But they didn't, they let him play through the Knicks series. All of a sudden you watch him, you know, go and play in the Olympics, and you get to the regular season and he wasn't available. He wasn't available.
Starting point is 00:31:08 And then all of a sudden you look at Paul George, he's dealing with injuries, right? I started to question whether or not he really wanted to even be in Philly the way that he was playing at times. I think if you dare more, if you're the Philadelphia 76ers, you got him running back. But Tyrese Maxey is your guy.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Like, that got to be, that got to be, like, hashed out in the locker room. Like, Daryl Moore can't be on record saying, oh, yeah, we're still running this franchise through Joel Embiid, who you don't know who's going to be available. No, that franchise belonged to Tyrese Maxey. But I believe you give it a shot.
Starting point is 00:31:43 The East is still wide open. We don't know what's going to happen with the Celtics. So yeah, you run it back. Okay, let me give you the proper intro to the chat. As you can see, our next guest, big perk 14-year vet who won a title with the Boston Celtics in 2008. He's currently an NBA analyst for ESPN. and can be seen on the NBA Countdown, NBA Today, First Take and other platforms. He can also be seen on the Road Tripping Podcasts with Richard Jefferson, Shannon Fry and Ali Clifton. Big Perk, welcome to Gills Arena, big dawg.
Starting point is 00:32:15 I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Yes sir, welcome to the arena. I appreciate it, man. We might have to start this shit over man so you can give me that intro again but. Nah, you getting it right. I appreciate y'all man, y'all been killing that shit man, speaking the real, you know what I'm saying, keeping it 1000.
Starting point is 00:32:36 You know saying a lot of shit that I can't say at times because I do work at Disney but I be feeling the same way. Big Perk, the polls, they not agreeing with you. The polls are asking, is it smart to run it back? The poll said 36% said yes, 64% said no. What you got to say about that? Well, I mean, who are the polls? Right?
Starting point is 00:33:00 Like, are they thinking logically? Like, who the fuck? Are they thinking logically? Yeah, who the fuckin' polls? Like, this is what you gotta ask yourself. Are they thinking logically? Are they thinking logically? Yeah, who the fucking pose? This is what you gotta ask yourself. At this moment in time, okay, if you wanna say you're gonna trade Paul, George,
Starting point is 00:33:16 who's taking that contract right now? Nobody. Nobody, nobody. Okay, if you wanna trade Joel and B, you could trade them, but you're not gonna get back what you want, what you should for them, right? And who's gonna really take a chance on that?
Starting point is 00:33:31 So you're stuck and you damn sure better not trade Tyrese Maxxie. Yeah, I agree with that. I don't know. McCain, McCain. Six man. McCain. Get off, get off McCain. Six man. McCain. Get off, get off McCain? Six man. Tick tock.
Starting point is 00:33:47 You need McCain. No, you need him. You need him. We need him for what? You never know how PG even go at it. Man, what can we get for him? I'm not trading him either. What can we get for him?
Starting point is 00:33:55 He cheap, man. He on the rookie deal. He gonna be your preacher. He gonna be your preacher right now. He on the rookie deal. You gotta add him on to something. Motard team deal. He gonna be your preacher.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Motard team deal, man. You're gonna move around. He the only piece you got. Tell me in the locker room, dancing and shit. Nah. What you got over there? Eric Gordon? A lot of them dudes gonna be.
Starting point is 00:34:14 Like who? Who you got? Oh, man. That's why. Kelly Oubre. Kelly Oubre. He been balling though. He been balling.
Starting point is 00:34:23 That's why it's gonna be interesting to see what the hell they're going to do with this number three pick. Yeah. Right? So you packing some shit up and get better. Fact. Again, the East is wide open. We see what Orlando Magic doing right now.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Orlando Magic, like, hold on. They looking at the Pacers like, shit, we had a couple more pieces. We got some, you know what I'm saying like, shit, we had a couple more Pacers, we got some, you know what I'm saying, we already go defend at a high level, we got a rising young superstar, Paolo Bencaro, we like, shit, let's see what's happening. I mean, do we trust the Cavs? No, never, never, never, no.
Starting point is 00:35:00 So that's what I'm saying, it's wide open, so why not run it back? Yeah, yeah. There's nobody that never not run it back? Yeah, yeah. There's somebody who never trust the God damn cows, man. Man, this motherfucker set out to game two of the player. I told you that shit should. So you think that was a great trade for the Magic Big Perk? That trade was done.
Starting point is 00:35:16 That trade was just made for Bane. You think that was a great trade or you think they gave up too much? I mean, four unprotected picks, that's a lot. But I do like the move for the Magic, but that's a lot of fucking picks. But Desmond Bane, but I mean, shit he did average like 21. So you talk about bringing in the guy that's gonna probably be your third option,
Starting point is 00:35:36 that's gonna give you 21, that's gonna be a floor spacer. You know, they basically saying fuck, they going all in. That's what they saying, they wanna win right now. And let me say this man. Like I've been saying all this shit go across social media Okay, Marta been saying your ass get a lot of pushback from the from the Memphis people But I was right, bro. Yeah, all right, and the crazy thing is is there's so many people around around the media space and around the NBA,
Starting point is 00:36:09 they whispering behind closed doors about, you know, hey, you know, you know, Memphis, they wanted to trade for Jimmy, but Jimmy didn't want to go to Memphis, man. Jimmy said it was too dangerous. Like, this is things that are being said. Like, this ain't something that people are just making up. Like, this is things that are being said. Like this ain't something that people are just making up. Like this is things that are people saying.
Starting point is 00:36:29 And you know what was crazy to me? What I thought was like, KD, when he quote tweeted, he was like, man, damn, they heard that dapp up all the way, you know what I'm saying? Back in Memphis. Yeah. No, did y'all see how excited fucking Desmond Baines was?
Starting point is 00:36:47 He said, they got windows. They got windows. I know I'm not dripping. And I'm just on the outside looking in. But man, I seen the man who was fucking glowing. His face like, that man was smiling from ear to ear. Thank you for getting me out of there. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:37:02 That's what I got. Somebody bailed it out. Somebody bailed it out. That's what I got. Somebody bailed it out. It's your first day out. Per, let me ask you this then. Okay. So for how many years was it unsafe to like go out in Chicago?
Starting point is 00:37:16 Man. What? Huh? Go out in Chicago. Like being in Chicago, for how many years was the whole reputation of the NBA when you go to Chicago, what was it? Was it, yeah, we cool to go where we want to go and do what we want to do. Was it ever that energy? Man, look, y'all got to realize this, right? And Tony Allen is my dog. Like, that's my dog. That's my brother. For realall gotta remember when when Tony Allen was going through that shit in Chicago
Starting point is 00:37:50 like that real shit in Chicago, we had a playoff series there and Man, we had we was getting escorted when we got off the plane man. They had they had real motherfucking soldiers with AR-15s They had real motherfucking soldiers with AR-15s escorting us to the hotel. We couldn't leave our hotel to go to restaurants. So we in Chicago for damn near a week. We couldn't go outside and sit up to practice. It wasn't police escorts. This shit was like-
Starting point is 00:38:18 Swat. Yeah, for real. And so outside of that shit was like that. You know what I'm saying? Because it was some real stuff. I ain, I ain't throwing T.A. under the bus. You know, the story is out there. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:38:30 So I'm just telling you all like it's real in the shot time. But I had my thing anyway. But look, hey, but Perk, this is... You know what I'm saying? When I stepped out, I wasn't going to no spots that I smell black and mouse smoke or weed smoke or any of those spots. I wanted to go to the spots that you had the damn nil put on a dress, a suit coat or some shit that's playing music that I don't even understand.
Starting point is 00:39:05 But look, this is my point. So if it was always dangerous in Chicago, and it's dangerous in Memphis. It's dangerous in Denver. More athletes than got shot in Denver, Colorado and anywhere. So my point is like it's dangerous everywhere, right? So the whole, I don't want to go to Memphis cuz it's too dangerous We never heard that for Chicago and Chicago is more dangerous I'm saying we pushing the narrative now. That's the pushback against the Memphis community
Starting point is 00:39:41 They like yo, we got people who are invested in this deep the Memphis community, they like, yo, we got people who are invested in this deeply. Deeply, so the narrative is like, if y'all saying the narrative, ain't none of these players got shot, ain't none of nobody died. Ain't that, you know what I'm saying? And it's the grind house.
Starting point is 00:39:55 So when you overseas, sometimes you go to a team where you in the grind house, you away from everything, it's cold everywhere, you can't go nowhere, it's practicing back to the house. All day long, right? So why is this no different? You had a team where it ain't that popular, it's cold, it's nasty.
Starting point is 00:40:14 Man, you gotta make fun of it for how long you here, bro, cause it's nasty out here. Perk, Perk, would you wanna play in Memphis and did you feel safe when you were in Memphis? Well, here's the thing. I have no problem with Memphis. You gotta remember before I went to like declare my name in the NBA draft and went out of high school,
Starting point is 00:40:31 I signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. Like, I was going there with John Calipari. So I was cool with Memphis. But I'm like, bro, I'm the type of dude that really on the cool, you could drive me anywhere and I'm going to adapt. Because you got to know how to deal with like, you know what I'm the type of dude that really on the cool, you could drop me anywhere and I'm gonna adapt. Because you gotta know how to deal with like, you know what I'm saying, your environment.
Starting point is 00:40:49 You drop me off in the hood, I'm not gonna go in somebody's hood being disrespectful. And majority of the time when it comes down to, you know, when you playing in these cities, they got, you know, these YNs and they got these, you know, whatever you wanna call it, Chris, Bloods, GDs or whatever. Man, or whatever kind of gang or hood cats they got.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Dog, majority of the time, bro, them people just want you to go in and recognize them and be humble. Like they don't want you to come in and be on no Hollywood superstar shit. Man, like if you coming in with that, what's up dog, oh man, man, that motherfucker cool as hell. Man, you if you coming in with that, what's up dawg, oh man, man, that motherfucker cool as hell.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Man, you ain't gonna have no problems. Yeah, because I've been in every listen, bro. Like somebody, so somebody sent me, somebody had something to say about my comments about Memphis, right? And it ain't like I'm making this, like I've, to Perksport, I treat every place I go like it's out of bounds.. I even sure I've been living here for a long time.
Starting point is 00:41:47 I'm not from here. This is out of bounds still to me. I'm comfortable when I go to Dallas, when I go to old cliff. Yeah, but here anywhere else out of bounds, but I've never been the one to treat people and go places and hide. I go out in every city I've played in, right?
Starting point is 00:42:02 Meet the people, be with the people speak, do all those things, have my jewelry on. Ain't never been robbed, ain't never been none of this shit like this, right? So, in all these NBA cities I've ever been in. You from Chicago? Yeah, oh Jimmy, no, he's from Humboldt, Texas. Texas. Humboldt.
Starting point is 00:42:17 No, no, no, he's from Tombaugh, Texas. Tombaugh, right? Tombaugh, Humboldt, it's right next to each other, right? What is that? Well, let me explain what tumbo is. What is that? I don't know what tumbo means. I know what tumbo means.
Starting point is 00:42:29 What is that? Tumbo is actually where my career is today. Oh, you got you a wrench? Yeah, so this is like, you know, like, motherfucker ain't coming out there and starting no drums. No, there's wrenches in there. That's where he from. It's real nice out there. And that's where he from? It's real nice out there, motherfucker, right? It's outside of Houston.
Starting point is 00:42:48 But let me ask y'all this. It's nice. Let me ask y'all this real quick. I believe, and y'all tell me how y'all feel about it, it's starting to build, but it's a mixture of things. It's not just how dangerous Memphis is or the violence that's going on with the gangs or whatever and guys shooting up motherfuckers. It's not just that. But it comes down to what's your
Starting point is 00:43:11 culture looking like, right? And let's be honest, the culture of Memphis over the past two and a half, three seasons ain't been looking worked it down, bro. Like, Jive hasn't been available, whether it's been because of injuries or whether it's been because of suspensions, because of off the court shit, right? You fired Taylor Jenkins with eight to 10 games left in the fucking season because your assistant coach and your general manager in rooms behind closed doors
Starting point is 00:43:45 stabbing you in the back and all of a sudden like you know say it and so the culture hasn't been there and I'm gonna say this man. I like Jared Jackson, Jr. I don't love him I think he's I think he is the most overhyped player in the NBA I think he's the most overhyped. So you ask yourself, with all this going on, I believe, you know what I'm saying, that y'all could maybe help me out with this stat, but I think in the last four years, or maybe last three years, John Marin has only played one season where he's played over 60 games. So it's like, bro, what's really going on over there? You know what I'm saying? What's up with everything?
Starting point is 00:44:25 Like when y'all go get back to normal, and I'm gonna tell you where they fucked up at. Y'all tell me how y'all feel about all this. I love this energy, bro. I tell you where they fucked up at. Yeah. I love it, boy. I love it. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Hell yeah. You know what they, they traded Dillon Brooks, they took that man for granted. Yes. Man, Dillon Brooks gave them people a certain type of edge and a certain type of swag. And all of a sudden they took that and they kept trying to replace it. So they went out and they tried to go get a Marcus Smart. And Marcus Smart was like,
Starting point is 00:44:56 oh no, I ain't really with this. This ain't, I just came from the Celtics, we just went to the finals. I know what this shit's supposed to look like. You know what I'm saying? But they never been able to really replace that heart and soul of the team, which was in Dillon Brooks. Dillon Brooks took that energy down in Houston,
Starting point is 00:45:13 and then all of a sudden with the matching of E-Mayor Doken, it changed the whole fucking culture. Yup. That's a fact. That's a fact. I took him from ground. You just mentioned the Celtics. You just mentioned the Celtics, your former team.
Starting point is 00:45:25 Let's talk about the Celtics. You got Jason Tatum. He recovering from a torn Achilles. All the signs point to them making changes to the roster this summer. What changes do you think the Celtics need to make? Well, one, man, can somebody find out and do some research and tell us what the fuck going on
Starting point is 00:45:42 with Chris Taffer's name? Right now, bro, I want a note. I want a note. research and tell us what the fuck going on with Chris. That was in the year. It is he be going in and out of that shit to any really think what is it? Slick with it. He just don't wanna play, man. Man, you can't tell me we got the fucking best doctors in the world in a multi-billion dollar company
Starting point is 00:46:14 with the NBA. And you mean to tell me y'all can't tell me what the hell is going on? I don't know what the hell is going on with this, dude. That's the first thing. Right, the second thing is, you know, you might have to move on from Drew Holiday, which is not a bad thing.
Starting point is 00:46:29 I knew they was gonna have to break up this team sooner or later, they starting five was damn near averaging a billion dollars, four billion dollars in salary. Yeah, they in a second April for sure. So my thing is with Kristoff Porzingis, for one, it ain't none of y'all motherfucking business where my health issuesis, for one, it ain't none of y'all motherfucking business what my health issues are, for one. It ain't, if it ain't motherfucking toe, foot, ankle, knee, calf, back, if it ain't fucking orthopedic,
Starting point is 00:46:54 it ain't none of y'all fucking business. It's tampon related. Because if it ain't nothing else than that, that's the problem with society. There's still a thing that's personal space. I need to know if you got some shit that I wanna be around. It's either it's a pad or a string. So it ain't contained for one. They still got him around the team. If he was contained, so he can give to somebody, they wanna have him around for one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:16 That I do believe. Okay. But there's a such thing as having something that's private still. You threw up again? Unless... If you got the shit, you just gotta... Hey, bro, you just threw up. Bro, why you throwing up again. I'm just listening. You got the shit. You just got a throw up bro. Why you throwing up again?
Starting point is 00:47:28 The third thing is like my privacy. You been dealing with kids. And they ain't saying nothing. You been dealing with kids. I threw up after Keisha's problem. I know that kind of throw up. Of course I want to know why they got a plan. But if they say you got an illness, you got an illness.
Starting point is 00:47:41 You got that. You got that kind of thing. Big Berk, like if you had something going on that was personal to you, Perk, right? I get like we all wanna know, but there should be certain things that you could keep personal. And I hope that's what this is about, I hope, right?
Starting point is 00:47:56 I hope it ain't nothing simple. It's keeping you. Here's my thing. If I had something personal, motherfuckers, y'all not gonna see me. I'm not about to be around the team. If it's something that's that serious, and it's personal, well, it can't be released. Yeah, I'm not gonna be on the bench. I'm not gonna be around the team. It's too personal. I can't even be here. I'm sitting next to you. I'm like... I dig it. Yeah, I don't want to look down at this. Hey, this is not no different than the Cleveland shit.
Starting point is 00:48:27 All I'm asking is this. They're telling us, the reports are saying, we don't know what it is. All I know is the last time we asked them if the NBA stopped. I don't know what he's going to do. You remember, we the ones that shut the world down. Really, because of the whole, it started with Rudy Gobert, and then all the second bro. But you're telling me that he's allowed to play basketball, this guy's feeling fatigued on the floor, he doesn't have energy and all this.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Y'all saying, y'all don't know what it is. So what you saying is, y'all don't know what it is. So y'all don't know if it's contagious. You don't know what it is. You don't know if it's contagious or not. I think they know, they just think they don't wanna fuck with you. That's all it is.
Starting point is 00:49:21 All right, I got you. So I trust if Muffin got something, devil should say something. I'm all with it. Alright, bro, I got you. So I trust if Mother got something, devil should say something. I'm all with it. Man, look, imagine. Everybody in everybody's business these days, man. Mind your fucking business. Hey, Fer, hey, Fer. Imagine the diagnosis is this.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Hey, Fer, watch your grandmama say it. I don't feel like it. Mind your business, man. That's the diagnosis. I don't feel like it. That's the diagnosis. I don't feel like it today. So what we gonna tell the media? Just you know. Tell them what we tell them every time I don't feel like it. So I'm the one that was joking with somebody at a Tor Heimann. So I'm getting it. I don't feel like it. Hey somebody go tell them I just don't feel like it. My mental health. Cool, but my mental health. Go with that one. I'm fine.
Starting point is 00:50:08 I just threw up. Tell the people that. I just threw up, OK? But my mental. My mental is fucked up right now. I got some shit nobody know what it is. I can't even see. I'm seeing double.
Starting point is 00:50:18 But I do think this is an opportunity. I got some shit nobody know what it is. I ain't here to play. What you say, Big Fella? What you say, Perkz? I do think this opportunity for Jalen Brown, like, I get it. He won conference MVP, finals MVP. But I think this is a season for him to, like, show, like,
Starting point is 00:50:35 why we really should be mentioning his name in the likes of Anthony Edwards, Luca Dantes, Jason Taylor. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, this a moment from him Luka, Don, Jason, Tateum. You know what I'm saying? This a moment from him, like, hey, bro, this your team. We can just push back. Who else can they get rid of? Because obviously, they're above the second apron.
Starting point is 00:50:54 They're going to have to make significant changes to the roster. Who are you keeping and who are you letting go? I'm telling you this. Derrick White, Tateum, obviously, and Jalen Brown, I'm not like those guys you can't touch. And also really Peyton Pritchett, because Peyton Pritchett's contract is a fucking steal. He's like four years, 32 million I believe off the bench or some shit like that. That's a steal.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Derrick White can go. Prezegas can go. Drew can go. But who's taking? Pruzegas can go. Taking Pruzegas though. Drew can go. Are you giving up Derek White? Yeah, all of them can go. Nah, nah, nah, I'm not giving up Derek White. Bro, you can't just-
Starting point is 00:51:31 I can't give up. I'm not giving up Derek White. Let's all give something great. What are you talking about, man? What do you mean you can't get with it? No, no, no, no, you can, but- What are you talking about? I just think he's the, like, he's the winner.
Starting point is 00:51:39 He affects winning. Yeah, he affects winning. He affects winning. Yeah, like, he's the winner. He affects winning. He affects winning. He affects winning. He fits what they're're doing because you don't need a holiday now. That's a day. He makes drew expensive He fits what they're doing because they had Jason Tatum with the whole full picture fits him He thrives with the full picture without the full picture. He's a nigga. It's in the way. Why are you shooting that shot?
Starting point is 00:52:03 What is this? This is not a swing swing I'm telling you we know we know who you're telling me you picking their white I just say that. That's what they did in the Olympics. That's what they did in the Olympics. That's what they did. That's what they did in the Olympics. That's what they did in the Olympics. That's what they did in the Olympics. They picked Derek White over Jalen Brown. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:52:41 So you would do that? Would you do that? Hold on. Did you say Jalen Brown and Did you do that? Hey, Rashaad, did you do that? Rashaad, did you say, hold on, did you say Jaylen Brown walked in the gym together? No, I didn't say that. So therefore, you said, nah, don't do that, man. What was you saying, Big Purr? What was you saying?
Starting point is 00:52:53 Don't do what? I didn't do that. I hear what you're saying, no, I hear what you're saying. I hear you, but that ain't what this is. Why can't we get ahead? Why can't we get ahead? Why I gotta be, like, I'm trying to prove a point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Right? Yeah. I'm trying to prove a point. I mean, I get it, man. Sometimes it get muddled. Sometimes it get muddled. I hear what you're saying, though. Go ahead. Finish the point.
Starting point is 00:53:11 Like, OK, these motherfuckers come in. I don't even forgot to point. Fuck it. No, you said no, no. You said let go of D-Wyatt. Derek White is what you said. You said you would let go of Derek White. Yeah, because they picked Derek White over Jason Tatum.
Starting point is 00:53:23 So if I got Jason Tatum and Jason Tatum. But you just got Jason Brown. And I got Peyton Pritchard. I'm rolling with Peyton Pritchard. There are so many players that do what Derek White does and more. No it ain't. Yes there is. Yes there is.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Yes there is. Derek White is nice man. Derek White is in the Pacers and the OKC Thunder got a bunch of Derek Whites on their team. No, no, no. The Pacers in Indiana and the Pacers in Indiana, I mean, the Indiana Pacers and the OKC got a bunch of Derek Whites on their team.
Starting point is 00:53:56 No, no, no. Yes, they do. No, no, no. All of them killers, all of them can shoot, all of them can guard. Hold on. Go ahead. Go ahead, Perk.
Starting point is 00:54:03 It's only one Derek White, a guy that you can't compare to Derrick White, and that's fucking Alex Caruso. Because Alex Caruso, that elevated his game so much in this post. What you mean? I mean, look, in the regular season, he's stocking up offensively. But what he's been doing in this postseason?
Starting point is 00:54:21 Yeah. Are you crazy? I'm an Eric Caruso fan now. I'm all of my corners. Mattering, Nese Smith? No, come on, man. No, they're not Derrick White. They're not Derrick White.
Starting point is 00:54:31 They're not what? They're not Derrick White. They got people the same effect as Alex Caruso. Bro, we watch the Alex Caruso thing. We're more athletic than Derrick White. Wiggins, Joe. Look, think about this. Wiggins, Joe, and Wallace?
Starting point is 00:54:42 Wiggins, Joe, and Wallace? Yes. But hold on, think about this for a second. Yes. We watched fucking Alex Caruso. I'll give you that. Locked down Jaren Jackson Jr. in the first round. We watched Alex Caruso in the fucking crucial game
Starting point is 00:54:55 seven when we didn't know who the hell was going to check Yocas. We was wondering was it going to be Isaiah Hardstein, Jalen Williams off the bench, because Diagonal said, fuck that. I got a secret weapon for you. We got Alex Caruso on your bitch. What? And then all of a sudden you get to the next round.
Starting point is 00:55:11 I'm watching that man come in off the bench on the road, he giving you 20 a night. He just gave you 20 in two of these games. I'm rolling. Yeah, I'm rolling. I'm keeping Derrick White, I agree with you. I'm keeping Derrick White. I'm keeping Derrick White.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Cam Whitmore. I'm keeping there Can't wait more Derek why I can I've been for this can't wait more there white Huh, you gonna take their white over cam Whitmore Houston right? Today come on. Derek white. I'm real. He's like who's like that. I Like that more me neither. That's what I'm saying. I haven't seen another Cam Whitmore to say it, but have I seen him play? Yes, but I haven't seen him on the big stage. I've seen enough of Derrick White to say it.
Starting point is 00:55:50 Derrick White came in as San Antonio. What was his role? What was his role in San Antonio? What was his role in San Antonio? He was young. I'm asking a question. What was his role? Don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:03 His role is the same role he has right now. Same role. Shoot three, he's playing defense. Space the floor. He's going at an elite level now. Caleb Martin is Derrick White. He's perfected that role. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:56:17 If you give Caleb Martin the opportunity to hit shots like he was when he was in Miami, he look like a whole different player. And if they win the championship, you're like, damn, this dude is actually pretty fucking good. He's going in Miami. He looked like a whole different player and if they win the championship you like damn This dude is actually pretty fucking good He might be the best he might be the best like shot blocking for us at the goal Go ahead. Hey, look, it's like one thing under a good corner, but he's not at that level. So the thing about Derek White is he's a starter for them, but you can also put him in the six man row and come off the bench and play any role you like that still.
Starting point is 00:56:56 So what is he going to give me offensively outside of space in the floor shooting the three? Come on, man. I mean, shit, don't pass the ball. You'll be a defense. I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say, I say,? He go get defense. I said offense Perk. I said offense. Perk I said offense. I said offense. I said outside of sitting in space and shooting the three. He drive and kick. Drive and kick. Offensive rebound. Drive and kick. Cut slash. Offensive rebound. Cut back doors. He do everything. Yo Derrick White is a very good basketball player. Punish the switch. Oh he is. Rebound
Starting point is 00:57:33 But the people that are short is naming with Opportunity that Derek White gets these people can do the exact same thing With the opportunities why moving when you give him get more of these opportunities? Because you need more. You need more. So who you keeping? If you get rid of him, who you keeping? The reason why Derek White is doing what he's doing because you got Jason Taylor and Jalen Brown,
Starting point is 00:57:55 and they're giving him the opportunity to have wide open. You don't have Jason Taylor no more. You only have Jalen Brown. So if you get rid of him, we are keeping him. You're going to see the real him. We need more than just catching shoot shit. Derek, you got to give us some shit. So you keep Drew and get rid of Derek.
Starting point is 00:58:13 If Derek got more value, I'm getting rid of Derek because we can get more back for him. Because y'all thinking he's this valuable. I'm like, well, why won't we move the most valuable thing? They got to get off Drew's cop track, but we have a scene Derek white though without Holiday is true holiday Disco for this I think he's gonna be fine even without tatum there. He did go for it So that they can score
Starting point is 00:58:42 Come on, now he's scoring 40, so what? What you mean? 40? 40 with two other guys? 82 games. It's 82 games, bro. It's 82 games, bro. It's 82 games. Come on, come on.
Starting point is 00:58:55 They're having 40 with them two dogs out there. Come on, man. That's, I think it's having a 40. They're changing the picture at 40. Yeah. They're changing the picture. So what are we talking about? I think it's borderline disrespectful to even call, I think it's borderline disrespectful to even call Derrick White a role player, to be honest. Like this dude is really knocking at the door every single year of getting into the All-Star
Starting point is 00:59:20 game. Yeah, last couple years, that's true. Well, that's because the team's a success too, though. Yeah, we've seen a lot of hoes do that. We've seen a lot of hoes do that. into the All-Star game. Yeah, last couple years, that's true. Well, that's cause of team success too though, man. Yeah, we seen the Leonard Hawks do that. We seen that before. Detroit, everybody.
Starting point is 00:59:33 We seen the Leonard Hawks do that too now, Perk. We did. We saw that big fella. Hey, moving on, moving on. We gotta move on. You've been a supporter of the Knicks in recent years, but they just fired Coach Tibbado after their best season in 25 years.
Starting point is 00:59:49 They requested permission to speak to several current coaches around the league and have been denied. Do you think that was the right move for them to fire Tibbs? Fuck no. Not without having a plan in place. And then if you, like, if you're going to fire Tibbs, then damn it, you got to go Beyonce yourself. You got to go upgrade their place. And then if you're gonna fire Timbs, then damn it, you gotta go Beyonce yourself. You gotta go upgrade to something.
Starting point is 01:00:09 You can't fire Timbs and go backwards. I don't wanna hear about fire Timbs and all of a sudden, you talking about interviewer Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown. You going backwards, right? Like you gotta have a motherfucker in there who gonna be able to handle the New York media. To be honest, I think, look, they don't want no action with Michael Malone for whatever the past or whatever didn't happen with the James Doley, I don't even know.
Starting point is 01:00:35 But the only coach to me that's right for that job right now is Jeff Van Gundy. Bring Jeff Van Gundy back to that motherfucker. He just showed you what he did. Somebody said that. Somebody on the couch said that. Yeah, bring back Jeff Van Gundy. It's nothing else out there, because right now, all you're doing
Starting point is 01:00:53 is going to knock on other people's houses, asking them, can you take their wife out on a date? A motherfucker go tell you no every single time. Oh, I'm going to go out to Dallas to see what's up with J. Kid. I'm going to go out there Dallas and see what's up with J.Kid. Man, why would J.Kid want to go there? Oh, I'm going to go see what's up with Eme Udoka. Man, the people just gave Eme Udoka a bag.
Starting point is 01:01:15 So you five-time tipper though, one, I think, like once you end a run like they had going to the Eastern Conference Finals and they felt like they should have beat the Pacers, right? Emotions come into play. They should have took at least about a week before they even started having interviews with people, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like you don't just have interviews with the players, right? Then emotions are high, shit like that. But I said this, I said said this when Tom Timberlake benched call Anthony Towns in game two I said if they lose this series he gonna get fired because of that situation right there it's about those fucking relationships
Starting point is 01:01:55 Worldwide West Leon Road Paul Anthony Towns go all the way back to the Kentucky days when he was at Kentucky back then it was right there in the thick of things. That's like they uncle. Facts. You know what I'm saying? They ain't gonna throw cat under the bus. But he really had a problem with tears.
Starting point is 01:02:13 I know Jalen Brunson didn't. This is the second time Carl Anthony Thompson got tears fired. You know what? Oh, shit. I didn't even put that together. You right. Because he was in Minnesota.
Starting point is 01:02:23 Yeah. Yeah, man. This is the second time. My people, man, they be on it. So do you think that having Jalen Brunson You know what? Oh shit. I ain't even put that together. You right. Because he was in Minnesota. Yeah, man. This is the second time. They be on it. So do you think that having Jalen Brunson as the key centerpiece to your team, can they be a true championship contender, having a guard, a small guard as their number one
Starting point is 01:02:36 option? Man, I just think, to be honest, they fucked me up the other day when they said they have no interest in getting Kevin Durant. And I was like, what? What you, like, who are you? And what have y'all done as a franchise in the last 52, like, y'all ain't won a championship in 52 years.
Starting point is 01:03:01 Who are you to say that y'all don't have interest in one of the greatest scores to ever touch the damn basketball You live boy Get it wash his hands perk don't eat it in the bathroom. Don't you eat that? If we were to cause the light I would have hopped at it. Ooh! What you gonna do with that? You gonna have to eat it, boy! You got it!
Starting point is 01:03:49 Hey. I'm like, damn, he in there. He's in there, ain't he? I was gonna say that with some shot bar. He's digging for gold. Find it. He's young, man. Right over his shoulder.
Starting point is 01:04:01 Young niggas, young niggas. Right over his shoulder. My kids do that all the time. He's sick. He's just back there eating that. My kids do that all the time. See, he's just back there eating that moment. My kids do that all the time. Live, boy! Hey, y'all, what y'all think? Can they be real championships contenders having a small guard?
Starting point is 01:04:15 Is they number one option? I don't think so. You don't think so? He's a very, very, very, very good NBA player. He's decided number one all-NBA player, but I don't think you could, I just, I don't think so. Like it's just too ball dominant. Not enough ball movement.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Not enough ball movement. With a different offense, how does Jalen Brunson look in it is what I want to know. What do I always say? Structure. Yeah. System. Yeah. We don't know what Jalen Brunson looks like in a system where he has to.
Starting point is 01:04:46 We do. No we don't. Yeah we don't. No we don't. I mean, hold on. I do. He went to Dallas. He took Dallas to the West Coast. I'm about to say, didn't Dallas?
Starting point is 01:04:54 No, I ain't talking about that. I'm talking about before that. I ain't talking about Dallas. I know I ain't looking at the system. Oh, you're talking about the way. I ain't talking about that either. I'm talking about in the NBA, with the NBA freedom. He can play in the system. He's just got to put one in place. But he hasn't played in a NBA system. He has not.
Starting point is 01:05:07 So this is what I'm saying. When he's in New York, he has freedom in New York. The freedom to do what he wants. If you get a coach that can implement a system in New York, we'll see a point guard out of Jalen Brunson. He knows how to do that. I'm with him. He knows how to do it.
Starting point is 01:05:23 But if he gets a coach that will say, Jalen keep doing what you've been doing, we gonna move, it's gonna keep him looking like the other guys. Like you bowled out. He ain't that guy, he doing what he supposed to do. But if you a coach and you say, look Jalen, I get it.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Get off that ball. Nah, I didn't even get off of it. Let's make plays. I dig it instead of. No you do get off the ball. He got to get off the ball. Yeah, but look four dribbles, I'm trying to make something happen in four dribbles. of it let's make plays. I dig it. Instead of. Ball. For dribbles I'm trying
Starting point is 01:05:48 to make something happen in four dribbles. That's enough to get out. Did I get off of it? He's holding it for nine. He's holding it for nine ten. Give me four. Yeah get it off. Yeah get it off. In this area he can win. I'm trying to make this team win.
Starting point is 01:06:04 You put him in the system he would look different.. They need a coach. If you put him in the system, he would look different. So you need a coach. Coach has a system. Yeah. I don't know if Jeff Van Gundy's system would fit him particularly than a Mark Jackson-type system. But the offense is not the problem, bro. It's that him and Carl Anthony Towns were getting their ass picked on.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Like, that's the problem. Like, you know what I'm saying? It's that him and Carl Anthony Towns were getting their ass picked on. Yeah. Like, that's the problem. Like, you know what I'm saying? We watch, here's the thing. A guy like Jena Bronson, I still believe he could go drop about 10 pounds and still have his strength, right? Like, you could never stop getting better for us going, putting in the full off season of working on your quickness and your foot speed just like call Anthony towels need to
Starting point is 01:06:46 Right because we saw a guy like self-curve. We saw step current growing that for championship Why did he grow not only did he ever started wanting that series? Think about it the Celsius were trying to like pick on him We saw in this series dog our orphan Al Horford had Steph Curry on the fucking block and could not crab-dribble him and get to his jump hook. Like, Steph was like, nah, y'all got me fucked up. I didn't learn. I learned from the Cav series when Braun then was picking me in the high-picking role, calling me up to search me out. That shit ain't happening no more. Sooner or later, that's the accountability part on J.J. Bronson's side and Carl Anthony's side.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Absolutely facts. No, I agree with you. One thousand. You gotta change. Nah, I'm rolling. Get your shit off. Yeah, no, they gotta get the coach that's gonna hold them dudes accountable,
Starting point is 01:07:35 that's gonna make them dudes do it. Nah, they need a coach, though. They need a coach with a system. That's for it. Hold them accountable. They need a third. They need a third. Being held accountable is the best coaching. Who's that third guy for them, though? They don't need it. They need a third. They need a third. They need a third.
Starting point is 01:07:45 They need a third. Who's that third guy for them though? They don't need it. Yeah, they look. Think about the offense, how they look. They look all season. They don't need it, man. They was four, three, four all season, right?
Starting point is 01:07:54 The way they played, they was three, four. And they played chaotic basketball. They did. Pick, pop, roll, Josh Hart go get extra. Josh Hart get the rebound. We playing off of random YMMCA ball like we ain't really we don't think about us as pros when we go play hoop we want some good bump we know like all right let's go into some some actions we're gonna run
Starting point is 01:08:17 some actions we know we're gonna get a I know I'm gonna get a shot right here. Perk go down here and scream for this nigga and seal this nigga on the I got you we gonna throw it in you. No I don't need all that just the scream is good. Just be setting a good ass pick I'm straight. Bro do y'all realize this though? So I think about this man. Carl Anthony Townsend and Jalen Bronson was the best pick and roll duo in the regular season. They forgot about that shit in the post. Yeah. Yeah. How many times did we see them run the two man game? Like, think about this. They was too tired to run that. They was tired. At some point in the fourth quarter, your two guys are going to take you home in some type of two man game action. That's a
Starting point is 01:09:02 fact. Like I saw the shit firsthand with Braun and Kyle Reese. I saw it with KD and Rush. I saw it with Paul and KG. When the four-quarter shit got tight, all of a sudden, those two had, all those guys had two-man action. We're seeing it right now with SGA and JDubb. Checking it tight, those two running high-picking rows and figuring that shit out
Starting point is 01:09:30 Hey speaking of the finals after j-dub just dropped 40 last game His name has been thrown around in potential MVP finals discussion You think he can actually win the finals MVP over SGA? Man, you're not a unanimous MVP finals MVP is SGA. Let's stop playing. Let's stop playing Yes, let's And look, I ain't taking shit away from J-Dubb. That 40 piece was nice. Yes sir. But man, this motherfucker, with him dropping 40, that motherfucker SGA still had what? 31 and 10. 30 and 10.
Starting point is 01:09:57 No, 10. Five steals I believe and four fucking blocks. Yes sir. Yes sir. Man, that was a steal. Jalen get a 40 ball. If he get a 40 and he still get another 30 and 10. If he get another 40 and he still get fucking blocks, dog. Yes sir, yes sir. Man, but still. Hey. Jalen get a 40 ball. Shit. If he get a 40 and he still get another 30 in 10, if he get another 30 in 10, five in four. He definitely get another 30 though.
Starting point is 01:10:13 Yeah, he definitely get another 30. I think he averaging 30. Two 40s. He don't have to get five in four then. He just got in this. Two 40s. I don't want you to be proud. I think it's unanimous.
Starting point is 01:10:21 It's like, it's no question that SGA is going to be MVP. What you got Swaggy? If he get a 40 ball, I think he got a chance, bro. I don't wanna put no pressure on him, but right now, of course, it's Shea just being consistent, but I like the young fella, he's looking like, like Kobe coming out at a coming out party for me. So I respect that, you know, and it's been done before.
Starting point is 01:10:42 The leading scorer don't always win finals MVP. I seen it last year. We saw it finals in your feet. I seen it last year We saw it last year Yeah, I seen it last year so anything can happen. What you got BJ? Yeah, I got SGA. SGA? SGA winning it for sure. He's averaging 30. He's consistent and I mean that's what he does I mean at the end of the day like you said his boy had 40 and he had 30 and 10 So and he gonna have to leave off the five blocks of three steals either. Five blocks of three steals. Jalen had 40 and what? Six and?
Starting point is 01:11:08 Like I said before, close your eyes and listen to the stats. Impact. Close your eyes, listen to the stats, it's all sound good. Open your eyes, watch the goddamn game and tell me who the MVP is. Who hit the cross shots last night? What the energy look like? Damn soon. What does the energy look like? This guy that's trying to will his team a victory. Just to be clear what's the name you talking about? Look he's not trying to maintain my performance effort. Yeah. I'm not maintaining. He don't care about that.
Starting point is 01:11:40 I'm here to do this just like Jalen Brown was. I'm here to do this bro. We're trying to take this shit to the, I don't give a fuck about these numbers. Indiana's coming back. Fuck about this award. Let's get the job done. I'm gonna go home whether or not I get the award or not. Snow bunnies. Snow cones.
Starting point is 01:11:58 I'm gonna have to work. What you think of that, Big Pert? What you think of that? No, I mean, I like what J, look, I think J-Dub found I think Jay Dove found something. I think he found something. Like, he found that they have nobody on their roster that can fucking stop him.
Starting point is 01:12:12 He went from game four, getting down here with the scoop lays, high off the glass, to game five, went and started snatching the screws out the rim, knocking down three. So, you know, but I do think that's the precious, like that's the thing to play alongside a guy like SGA, the rules out the rim knocking down three. So you know, but I do think that's the precious like that's the that's the
Starting point is 01:12:28 thing to play alongside a guy like SGA because SGA is the best for him to play basketball. You know, I'll give a fuck with nobody. Right. Especially off the score. Yeah, for sure. And this is what I want to ask you out. Now history for what we
Starting point is 01:12:43 history tells us that after guys complete the mission MVP, then win a championship, the man led the league and scored third consecutive season of averaging 30 shooting over 50%. Jordan, Michael Jordan sitting at that table for us the only God said to ever do that shit. Jordan did it five times and then all of a sudden you go and win a first championship MVP and you set records while you in the finals. Like we're not it Yanis when he done it after he finished. Oh, Yanis the best player in the world. Jokic. I mean, what is it? What we gonna say about Shea? Is he the best player in the world if he complete the mission? Hell yeah, hell yeah. For sure. Hell yeah, easy.
Starting point is 01:13:26 Easy. Easy. Easy for sure. K-Mart. Always feel like the star player is always the best player. We might have some pushback on that. K-Mart, what you got? He love Jokers.
Starting point is 01:13:36 You ain't rolling? I'm just asking, K-Mart. No. No. Who the best player in the world? Number 15 still. Listen, man, let's not act like this man in the after triple dog.
Starting point is 01:13:46 Let's not do that, man. I've seen that before. Let's not, not from him. Listen, you know those asses. This. I'm still taking Yannis over. Nikola Yobis is still an NBA dog. I'm still taking Yannis over.
Starting point is 01:13:57 Let's not do that, man. Shane wanted to be absolutely. He in the finals, he gonna sweep the world. It's absolute, more power to him. I'm proud of the young fella. Trending in the right direction. But let's not act like Nicola Yocca just still not lacing the bitches up. Yocca is the best player in the NBA?
Starting point is 01:14:11 I think Yonis. Absolutely. No, he ain't better than Yonis. I think Yonis is the best player. Yonis limited. So y'all think Yonis is the best player? I'm a big Yonis fan, but limited, man. I'm going with Shay. But I'm asking this, think about it,
Starting point is 01:14:25 K-Mod again. I'm going with Shea. This is his third season in the row of average and third. Man, easy, though. Efficiently, too. Easy, though. Like I said, join, join. It's only him and Joy that do it for, like,
Starting point is 01:14:39 more than three seasons. Shoot average and third, and shoot no more 50% from the field. I'm a fan. OK, that's completed. Yes over 50% from the field. I'm a fan. That's completed. Yes. Best record in the league. I'm winning. Okay, I'll play Jokic.
Starting point is 01:14:52 I'll play Jokic. They don't play the same position. You can't say that. What you mean? They don't play the same position. You just comparing stats at this point. You just lying the stats up and saying who's stats better. Getting out there like they ain't guarding each other,
Starting point is 01:15:04 but Nicole is still average triple W. You had the dude try to do it. He ain't average triple W in that series. Okay, not that series, but overall. He had the worst series of his career. Cool, that's a great card. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I had one of them too.
Starting point is 01:15:15 Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Y'all said SGA averaged 30 for three straight seasons, right? That's what he said, yeah. Three. Three, so so did Yannis. No, but I'm saying at the golf is this the power forward position I get it, but it's more impressive at the power
Starting point is 01:15:38 You don't have the ball in your hand He has to get the rebound off the glass. You know like I know Burt, if you had that type of speed you get that bitch you wouldn't have passed to nobody. You wouldn't have went that coast to coast. All I'm saying is I love Giannis but we're talking about SGA bro who is not the most athletic motherfuckers. All these kids have to come off tough contested twos and tough contested threes, and he's making that a high ass, like, an efficiency rate, bro.
Starting point is 01:16:12 What little car did this, though? Aside from team wins, right, they got 68 of them, right? We're talking about regular season, most valuable player. Oklahoma City has 68 wins. If I don't give you the wins, right? To go with, and you don't know team success,
Starting point is 01:16:33 and I just give you three people stats on the season. One of them being SGA, one of them being Nicole, and one of them being Yonatan. They own a piece of paper with no team success included with it. You gotta pick one of them being Yonatan. They own a piece of paper with no team success included with it. You got't do that. You can't. Because there's violence. You see that with the market. You see that with the market.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Guess who would get MVP of that list? Well, rest of the one, four years in a row. Because Yannis would be MVP of that list. Rest of the one, three years in a row. Yannis would be the MVP on that list is what I'm saying. There has been Yannis fatigue. It was definitely honest fatigue. It would be y'all. You don't want to hear you don't want to hear y'all I'm not going with the cold You don't want to hear y'all this in this situation because if you look at it on paper the numbers 30
Starting point is 01:17:36 Lame last eight years 60% Mother from the field like you do six six two blocks. It's gonna be him the last Without any wins attached to the last Eight years John, this is twenty seven twenty seven twenty no twenty seven twenty seven thirty twenty eight thirty thirty thirty thirty All those are these are the rebounds to go along with that. 10, 13, 14, 11, 11, 12, 11, 12. Yeah, that's how I do that. Eight years.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Eight years. Come on. First round, first round, first round. Yeah, but the conversation was, the conversation was, the conversation was, if SGA it this year, is he the best player in the league? Because that's when we crowned Yannis. That was the question. I said no. And I'm giving you all the answers, the dance.
Starting point is 01:18:30 And my answer is no. And I'm giving you the reason why. Because we crowned Yannis and Joker when they did the same thing. That's why I'm saying that. When Yannis did what SGA did, he crowned him. When Joker did what SGA did, we crowned him the best. So should we keep it consistent with SGA? No.
Starting point is 01:18:43 And look, you all got to bring me back. Look, I got to go, but you say this. I did. I think Shayshae won the last year. Okay, hold on. You gotta get ready to go. Look, let me say this real quick. This is why I'm saying with SGA, the 68 wins matter. Fuck, to start the season, they were missing Isaiah Hardenstein. Then all of a sudden said home grid. He fractured his hill He's out for what took it two and a half three months Then towards the last part of the season for about a month and a half No, they dug so that means you're a it don't matter
Starting point is 01:19:17 Put give me one of these motherfuckers and we go continue to win games that I'm a All right, give it these boys that work. We're still gonna have 68 wins. I can't understand my full roster plan. In the West. What's the difference here? What you just said all that about not having chit and all that, right? Yannis has the same story.
Starting point is 01:19:39 But he moving. Wait. Yannis has the same story. Chris Middleton. Chris Middleton. Game living. My two guys ain't been available The same way he just saying that and we and I'm still doing me One thing what about Joker? Oh my two guys they they having mental health issues Murray and MPJ the MPJ going through some shit my guys ain't fully ready to go So you got a user My guys ain't fully ready to go. Hold on, so Perk, we're gonna use an excuse for everybody? We can't just say SGA this and this, he overcomes it.
Starting point is 01:20:10 So Perk, I think, so we all said on this couch last year, we thought that Shea should have won MVP last year, right? I did not say that. I didn't agree. Well, you did, but it was the consensus, the majority vote on the couch was we thought that Shea was MVP last year. Right. We think they dropped the ball. So now they playing catch up.
Starting point is 01:20:34 Right. Because you can't because you don't know what these other guys will continue to do. Like not like Nicole to come out this year and average he was close last year. This year average. He actually averaged a triple double this year. Right. So you give it to him last year thinking that this is like, we think they was first in wins last year.
Starting point is 01:20:49 Oklahoma City first in wins last year, Shay averaged in 30. So if you was gonna give it to him last year, he didn't get it last year, he did the same thing he did this year. They just had a few more wins this year. So he would have been back to back if they would have just did
Starting point is 01:21:01 what they were supposed to last year. But coming with 16 wins this year, it would have been better for his case to be back-to-back instead of people like, uh. But that's, but that, that, that right there to me is why he should have won it this year. Okay. The fact that he, he came back this season and doubled down and said, man, I'm gonna give y'all better motherfucking season than what I did last year and I'm gonna double down and I'm not only have the best record in the West by probably 17 games
Starting point is 01:21:31 I thought we gonna finish with the best record in the fucking league. Nah man I hear you first. That's crazy. But the same guy number 15 did the same type of double down and doubled down and did a triple double and my guys didn't show up That's the difference. The only difference between the two is my guys didn't show up. I did And I went up and I went up One last question We're still waiting on seeing if Halle's gonna be able to play with that calf
Starting point is 01:22:01 Do you think he will play and do you think he should play? he's gonna be able to play with that calf. Do you think he will play and do you think he should play? I don't think he should, man. And I'm gonna give him the same fucking advice I did when I first started in media, I believe in 2019. KD was dealing with a calf strain and I told KD in his face and I went on and said it, I said, hey bro, you shouldn't play.
Starting point is 01:22:22 It's too much going on with a fucking cast right and what did Katie end up doing? Bro, he toys the killies dog. You're playing at the highest fucking level in the NBA right now the finals You know who don't give a fuck about his care You know who's gonna be putting them in every fucking action the night, especially the start of the Oklahoma City Thunder. So bro, are you really helping your team if you're going out there 60, 65% when you got them dogs you going against? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Like, you see what I'm saying? And then all of a sudden if he don't, we gonna hear the story like, man, damn man, you was the warrior, bro, you went out there, but you couldn't help the team. And I'm not hurt, I'm not like, I'm not sitting up here trying to, you know, criticize him or, you know,
Starting point is 01:23:12 sabotage his character and say, you know, like, he ain't hurt or something to that shit. Like I ain't gonna never judge him and say that he's not hurt. My thing is you gotta be careful with that. But then on the other side of it, man, you don't make it to the NBA Finals often. So I get it, bro.
Starting point is 01:23:29 Yeah, yeah. Like, I was on the sideline with a toy at ACL, had to watch my dogs go to war in the game seven, not knowing if I was going to ever make it back to them, motherfucker. So I get it. Man, we appreciate you joining us, man. Make sure you pull up to the arena again.
Starting point is 01:23:45 Let's give him a round of applause. Appreciate you, man. Hey! My name is Al. That shit was lit. Smoke. Give him the smoke. Where the smoke at?
Starting point is 01:23:55 There it is again. Yeah, that one. The top one. All right. Now hit the other button, or set the stop button. I did. I did. I did.
Starting point is 01:24:01 Got you. Got you. Smoke's out in here. He All right. He was cooking. He was cooking. Speaking of the finals, we talked a little bit about Tyrese Hallenberg dealing with that calf strain. Here's what he said yesterday about everything he's been doing trying to be active for game six.
Starting point is 01:24:15 Yeah, I mean, I think just around the clock stuff as much as I can. Massage, needles, hyperbaric, H-Wave. I mean, just a bunch of different things to try to get it to feel as comfortable as you can going into it, the right tape and stuff while I am performing. Yeah, I'm sure there's a bunch of medical professionals who could give you a better answer but just doing everything that I'm told, trying to do everything I can. That's all you can do. That's all everything I can. That's all you can do, shit.
Starting point is 01:24:46 That's all you can do. That's all you can do. Yeah, because he ain't getting 100% healthy. You're on the biggest stage and you ain't healthy? Yeah, that shit is demoralizing, bruh. You done did all this shit, fought all this to get to the finals and you get the shit on the season, on the line and you do this? It's demoralizing, man.
Starting point is 01:25:06 Steve ain't like that. He's doing everything that he could possibly do to get ready to play. That's all you can do. Around the clock treatment, stand off your feet, doing everything you're told, drinking fucking plenty of water, staying away from certain things and all that. So that's all you fucking can do, man, at this point. Well salute for him doing that. Talking about injuries, we're going to go around.
Starting point is 01:25:26 What's the worst injury that you've ever tried to play through? We going to start with BJ, or are we going to go all the way around? Probably when I broke my foot second year. Had like a chip bone. And I didn't even know when I was playing on it for like a month. It was just really aching bad.
Starting point is 01:25:39 And you played through it? Yeah. Tried to play through it. Tried to play through it, and then I ended up breaking it. Psh. Mm. Mm. What about you, Nick? Had a little chip bone in my knee.
Starting point is 01:25:49 Just been playing through it my whole career, really. The doctor said if it falls into a place, it's good to play. But if it floats around, I got to get rid of it. So luckily, it just found the spot and was just chilling, really. Was you out for extended period of time, or you was able to keep playing? Nah, nah, I was trying to get this money, man.
Starting point is 01:26:12 It was like, Gil got traded. I was starting out like, nah, whatever happens, happens. Fuck that, I gotta school. It's my time, man. I don't wait for this. Fuck that. K-Mart, worst injury that you ever tried to play through? Minus the coming back from like major service
Starting point is 01:26:32 and things like that. Probably turf toe. My junior year at Cincinnati, I had a metal plate in my shoe. Still have my toe, like you jam your toe real bad. Like it's like, it's a real, that's what it is. Like you jam your toe. Like, so you gotta like tape your toe a certain way. I had to put a metal plate in my shoe
Starting point is 01:26:56 and they gotta tape your toe a certain way so it don't bend. And I had no lift. Like I couldn't push off. Like I heard about turf toe. Turf toe, that's what took down Prime. Yeah, a lot of dudes get that shit, bro. Some dudes don't recover from this shit.
Starting point is 01:27:13 That shit hurt. Shadi, toughest injury you tried to play through? Two of them. In college, my whole freshman year, I had to play with a 200 AC joint. I had a shoulder harness on. Majority of the year, I had a sprained wrist and a dislocated pinky.
Starting point is 01:27:36 Played through all that. And then... Oh yeah. After my second year I had a... My back went out of alignment. So I was always dunking with my left. So I always dunk on it because of my left. My back went out of alignment so the rest of my career,
Starting point is 01:27:57 my shit was off. My back was always off. You said your back was hurt? It was off. I had a back yadda me. You, Dwight? You, Dwight? So anyways, anyways.
Starting point is 01:28:10 How did that happen? Show me the camera. So your hip, threw your hip out when you was doing it? No, but when you're on this stage, man, when you're on the biggest stage and you have anything going on, you try to block it out no matter what it is. So, and, but when you limiting your physical ability,
Starting point is 01:28:30 and when you built on speed and what she is, having a hard time processing it, right? When you're not there, when you don't feel like you, and you know it's at stake, your season's at stake right now, your season's on the line, and to a point, them boys across from you don't give a... Two dams that your calf is hurting.
Starting point is 01:28:48 That's a horrible feeling. Y'all just interrupt me when I'm in the middle. Just let me know when y'all want... Oh, you wasn't done saying the back-eat-omy? Oh, go finish your speech. You said you needed the back-eat-omy. He was trying to be joking, so we was trying to move over. I thought you was at the end, because you...
Starting point is 01:29:00 It's all good. It's all good, bro. I'm just... No, no. My back-eat-omy is good. He was trying to be joking so we was trying to move on. I thought you was at the end. It's all good. It's all good, bro.
Starting point is 01:29:08 I'm just joking. A little respect goes forward. I thought you was at the end. A little respect. A little respect goes a long way. But keep going, host. Go ahead, man. What about your injury, North?
Starting point is 01:29:16 My SI joint slipped out of place. I didn't even know that could even happen. But I was trying to play through it. I was like, man, my back, something ain't right. I was trying to play through it. I was trying to play through it. I was trying to play through it. I was trying to play through it.
Starting point is 01:29:24 I was trying to play through it. I was trying to play through it. I was trying to play through it. I was trying to play through place. I didn't even know that could even happen. But I was trying to play through it. I was like, man, my back, something ain't right. I went to the chiropractor. They couldn't figure it out. But eventually I was able to figure it out. I went to my trainer, David Alexander, and he was able to figure it out for me. And I was able to, I had to miss about 40 games, but before I missed those 40 games, I played like two weeks My back was not right, but we was able to try to play through it Like Kenyan said if you can play, you know, you gonna try to play and so I respect everybody who played through the injuries respect the holly
Starting point is 01:29:59 So You're gonna get your joke in. No, I'm not. I promise. He gonna get your back. I'm like, what's the SI? Spinal? Let him get his back. Right, right, right. He had to balance it out. He couldn't just say, go B. He couldn't just say, go B.
Starting point is 01:30:20 What's the SI? Spinal? He sound like Michael Jackson. Spinal! That's what I'm trying to see. That's what I'm trying to see. Let him get his back. Anyways, anyways, yeah, we know that Halle's going through some injuries, so who needs to step up for the Pacers in game six? Siakam. Siakam, I think, you know, trying to be the number one option. You know, if Halle's going to try to go out there and play,
Starting point is 01:30:45 Siakam's going to have to be more aggressive. TJ is going to have to be more aggressive, so... Oh, shit, he can't be more aggressive. We need him in the fourth quarter. He got... We need him to... He the one that... He the only guy out there that's going to tell him this. I need you to rev it down a little bit. Just a little bit. Just a little bit.
Starting point is 01:31:01 That's a little bit, because I need you in the fourth quarter, right? Okay, well, all right. Well, the starters need to I need you in the fourth quarter, right? Okay, well, all right. Because he was tired. Well, the starters need to be more aggressive in the beginning, you know. I know how he's going to try to play, but like you said, you know, TJ already get off the bench. He's already going a thousand miles an hour, so.
Starting point is 01:31:14 Yeah, yeah. A little bit. But yeah, C.O.C.O.M. And then, you know, everybody else, the role players and stuff. You got Swaggy? Step up, step it up. What's his name?
Starting point is 01:31:22 Benedict? Benedict. Gast. Macron? Matheran? Benjamin Matheran? That is his name? Just call him Ben. Ben.
Starting point is 01:31:36 What's wrong with this one swaggy today? It's his time. What's wrong with him today, man? It's Thursday. I ain't got to see you all's Thursday. Okay, okay, okay. I ain't got to see you all that much. Okay, okay, okay. It's his time, man.
Starting point is 01:31:48 I think he averaged 16 or something like that. Once he got hurt, he got out the starting lineup, it's his time to step back up. They need him for real. We ain't going to interrupt you this time, Shadi. Who needs to step up? Make your point. No, fuck that. There's to step up? Make your point. No, fuck, there's none of them. Miles Turner.
Starting point is 01:32:12 Miles Turner, OK. Yeah, I think I need him to step up all the way. Double, double. Show him why he's supposed to be there. Because if he don't, he got to go. OK. He's got to step up. Can we move on to ask Kmart? I got a little more. Oh no, hold on, I swear I thought he was. He never made it off that game. No.
Starting point is 01:32:46 Nah. Who else? Okay, we can move. Gotcha, Kmart, who needs to step up? Obie Toppin. Yes. I think he needs to. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:33:02 Like, they don't have anybody over there that can do what he do, man. So I think he needs to, they don't have anybody over there that can do what he do man. So I think he needs to insert himself from the beginning, be more aggressive attacking the rim, have an aggressive mindset when he's attacking the rim, try to get Chet and Hartstein out the floor, get them in foul trouble. The more he's attacking the rim and putting the ball on the deck, that shot gonna open up for him. So, yeah, so I'm gonna go with Obie Toppin. I got two players that I think need to step up.
Starting point is 01:33:32 I think Nate Smith need to go into that mode he did against the Knicks. Make five, six threes. And I think Nim Hart need to play like how he played last year when Mahali had to hurt hamstring. Nim Hart was averaging a dub. He got to go back to that aggressive playmaking and scoring Nemhart. I think if he can do that they might have a chance to score enough points because they got to get to that 110 mark. I think he asked the do to it. I think he's asking because he got to guard Shea so much and then they're trying to get I just think he his mindset is not on
Starting point is 01:34:05 that side of the ball right now right but it but it has to be that's the shift for this game yeah you sacrifice up but up to this part of his mindset has been like I gotta like conserve energy to put shepherd in maybe to give him a little bit of relief he got to make shots to you know shepherd got no shepherd yeah like she ever got to make sure he. He do? No, Shepard. Yeah. Like, Shepard got to make shots. He's the shooter. He's one of the better shooters.
Starting point is 01:34:27 So he got to make shots. He not getting no looks. Everybody clamming up. That's the bottom line for Pacers. They look like they never even thought they'd ever be here before. They look like they neutral to prom. They never been.
Starting point is 01:34:39 Never put the suit on. So this is the game. They all. That's what I'm saying. They playing like that. They playing like they never been here before Like oh my god, we're here. Oh, that's Kim Kardashian. Oh shit. They got a literally walk in there today like yo We got to have this
Starting point is 01:34:56 Everybody got to show up. There can't be no at no point in the game We can time out and Rick got to be like, come on guys There should never be a point where we like come on guys we need more energy we need more in it it's over oh no he ain't gonna have to say that oh he gonna do yes no no no we need more energy where they at home energy gonna be on 12 tonight if they go down 10 if Indiana go down 10, if Indiana go down 10, it's gonna be nasty. It's gonna be a nasty night. They go down 10 in the first half, it's nasty.
Starting point is 01:35:30 They've been down 12. I know, I know, but I'm saying just the energy for them to go down 10 and that energy be where like- And Holly not all the way. And Holly not there. The defense, bro, listen, the way Oklahoma City defending their boys. They'll beat them by 30 if they go up 10 early. Indiana win games they supposed to win though. We gonna see.
Starting point is 01:35:49 They always, they always. Neem Hart gotta come out like it's my team. Matthews gotta come out like it's my team. Siakam already gonna do it. He gonna get it. No he not. We gonna see. He be climbing, man.
Starting point is 01:36:00 They gonna be ready. The reason they here now is cause he ain't showed up for the last two games. They gonna be ready to play. It's cuz he ain't showed up for the last No, he got a defense we need 30 out of siakam by them Jaylin Williams Yeah, like man, he's my man the same size cook my food man What you doing Come here come here. Oh, you got. Come here. He got nothing on me. He got nothing on me. Half spin, half spin, half spin.
Starting point is 01:36:27 Cash ho. So if Halle doesn't start, we go through the poll question out there too. Who should be in the starting lineup? No, you have to start him. No, I said if Halle can't play. If he can't play, no, you said if he don't start. If he can't play, excuse me, I'm sorry. If he can't play, who should be starting five for the Pacers?
Starting point is 01:36:35 I mean, he might try to will his read, but I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:36:43 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. he can't play. If he can't play, no, you said if he don't start. If he can't play, excuse me, I'm sorry. If he can't play, who should be the starting five for the Pacers? I mean, he might try to Willis Reed, but I don't think he should. No, no, no, no, no. If he don't play, who? You have to start in front of the beginning. You can't let him warm up.
Starting point is 01:36:54 I'm saying, but if he doesn't play, who should be the starting five? Who should replace him? Who should replace him if he don't start, if he don't play? I think you gotta go Benjamin Math, I'm fucking Matthew, you gotta go Ben Mathurin, I think, man. Neem Hart, Matthew Wren, Keithing, I think, man. Like, cause he's scoring, man. Neem Hart, Mathering, Lee Smith, see how it come. You need scoring and aggression and mentality to start that game, man.
Starting point is 01:37:13 Like, if he don't play, you gotta put somebody that's gonna put some pressure on them. I'll be honest, I would start OB topping. If Holly not playing, though. I would start OB topping at the 5s. I would start shepard. I would start OB topping. If Holly not playing though. I would start OB topping at the 5's. I would start Shepard. I said that the other day. I would start OB at the 5's. I would start Shepard and let Neymar be the point guard so that everybody else can stay
Starting point is 01:37:30 in the natural role. Neymar point guard for sure. Yeah, I would start Shepard though. So bring Matthews still off the bench? So he can steal, yep. Him and TJ? Yep, so they keep that river roll. I like that, yep, keep that roll.
Starting point is 01:37:40 Because that's the role we was talking about last time. They need them to come back and get down. Yeah, absolutely. So yeah, I like that. Shepard, Shepepard Shepard and Shepard can shoot and play defense This is the difference either way. You know, if you don't got Matthew in there You got Shepard you need Neem Hart and Siak going to be aggressive. Absolutely. Because Shepard is gonna be useless without no aggression Absolutely, you need somebody to get him open so he can get shot. That's why Ben go put pressure on him. Yeah TJ gonna put pressure on him too
Starting point is 01:38:03 TJ, but I don't know what you saying TJ, I'm just saying, but you saying bring Mattron off the bench too? Do the Toro Luff work for that shot? Oh, you can start being. Who do you think should start? Do the Toro Luff work for that shot? For the cap? No.
Starting point is 01:38:16 Not if you don't know exactly where it's at. It can be high, it can be low, it can be all that. It ain't like you just have chronic pain. He has an actual injury. Like he has a strain. So if you got chronic, like, Torr-Dall helps for like, you got chronic pain. Like them dudes that, yeah they... Can't move. Yeah, you want to try to tape that bitch up and numb it up and numb that shit up and
Starting point is 01:38:38 go out, but... That's dangerous too, to numb your calf like that. You take the wrong step. Now the Achilles, there's a lot of pressure on the Achilles. It can't feel nothing. It's not smart to do that shit, trust me. But the lineup though, who you going to... And they don't give a tour out no more.
Starting point is 01:38:52 It's out. Who's starting? If Halle's out. I'm going to ban. Ban. I'm going to stick with ban. BJ. Down 3-2.
Starting point is 01:39:04 My point guard's not playing. I'm going to just go with TJ. Start? Yeah, because I need to get off to a great start. I need somebody to push the pace early. They be down double figures in the beginning of the game. If I'm going out like that, I'm going out with my gun. He going to just play. Fuck it. Yeah. Hopefully he don't gas out.
Starting point is 01:39:18 Yeah. He need that boo. Come on down. You need that boo. It might change from him being a starter. He's going to be a starter. He's going to be a starter. Fuck it. Hopefully he don't gas out. Yeah, he need that. Come on down. Come on sit down. You do need that T.J. Boo. I know.
Starting point is 01:39:28 It might change from him being a starter. I know. Nah, but you know what? Now that I'm thinking about it, it's a totally different game, a totally different team. So we can't depend on the bench because we don't got our regular mob that's either. So we need all explosive, we need everything we got. So I agree with you, you saying TJ, I like TJ Ben, Neesmith, Siakam and then Obe. Neel Hart?
Starting point is 01:39:59 What's his name? Neel Hart? No, he come off the bench. Neel Hart come off the bench. Nah, he handle the ball. He can handle it, bro. No, he can be power off the bench. We out the bench. He handed the ball. He can handle it. No, he can be power off the bench We switch it up. I know I would switch it up for this for that reason TJ is aggressive Matron is aggressive
Starting point is 01:40:16 Neemhart is our shooter see I come need to be aggressive OB topping is our slasher offensive rebounder dunk runner. Man, we got full foul power right now. We go with this rule. Neem Hart, look, if you think about it, he ain't, I mean, yeah, Neem Hart, he ain't really been aggressive. He's just out there. He playing good defense though.
Starting point is 01:40:35 He won you one game. Right? But, but, we need some, we need, we need, we need, we need, we need, we need, No, I'm not gonna just shake everything up just for that one piece. But you have to. Your main piece is gone.
Starting point is 01:40:47 That's ten assists a game. Your bench is still in place. You can just put it in like a shepherd. No, but you don't have a leader that does what he does. You got to change everything. But Nim Hart is proven last year in the playoffs that he can step it up. As a starter. As a starter, though.
Starting point is 01:41:00 But he can't do what he does. You don't need him to. Yes, you do. He's not him. You can't make him be how these are our system to work Our system is 10 15 10 assist 10 points 10 assists this guy He's moving the whole shake up the whole thing We don't have another identity we don't have identity outside his Man guys out our main guys out. We have to shake it identity. We don't have an identity outside of his leadership. Our main guy is out. Our main guy is out.
Starting point is 01:41:25 We have to shake it up. You just got to replace one guy. No, just one guy, bro. You can't replace Holliburr. Because your bitch can keep your bitch intact. You want to keep your bitch intact. I'm rolling. You can't replace him.
Starting point is 01:41:33 In the start lineup, if he doesn't play. You can bring him in, Earl. I'm going with Shepard, and then I'm making quick subs, and then your bitch can get right back in quicker. Who's going to give you ten assists that's backing up Holliburr? Collectively. Collectively. You got to do it collectively.
Starting point is 01:41:41 You don't need ten assists from one guy. Yeah, collectively you can do it. I'm going to give you ten assists. I'm going to give you ten assists. I'm going to give you ten assists. I'm going to give you ten assists. I'm going to give you ten assists. Who's going to give you tennisists that's backing up Hollenberg? Collectively. Collectively. You got to do it collectively. You don't need tennisists from one guy.
Starting point is 01:41:48 Yeah, collectively you can do it. You don't need tennisists from one guy. Real quick, real quick, real quick. The chat has spoken. Who's most likely to step up? 55% said Siakam. 16% said Nimhart. 14% agree with Shadi and said Turner.
Starting point is 01:42:02 15% said Matheran. So. Yeah, Siakam, I mean, yeah. Yeah, Siakam, everybody agree with you. Under that one. Officiating for tonight. Do y'all think that will play a factor? The rest for game six has been listed. It's Zach Zarbara, Tony Brothers, and Dave Gauthry.
Starting point is 01:42:20 How much of an effect will the officiating affect tonight? And is this a good crew? I said, how much will they affect the game tonight and is this a good crew? Tony Brothers, David Guthrie, Zach Zarbara. So with this, who's the lead? Zarbara. Zarbara.
Starting point is 01:42:38 It's a good crew. Nah. It's a good crew. Yeah, of course. Of course, of course. Tony Brothers. Tony Coolman. Zach and Tony together. Yes, that course. I'm closing fourth time. That's the only problem, man. Tony Cool, man. Zach and Tony together.
Starting point is 01:42:46 Yeah, that's why I asked who was the lead. What's the dude's name? Foster. Tony a different nigga when he the lead. That's why I asked. Foster, yeah. Them two together is him. No.
Starting point is 01:42:54 Okay. Zach and Tony is him. No, when Tony got the lead, he a different nigga. He is different. He a different nigga when he the lead ref. Right? Who? Tony?
Starting point is 01:43:04 Yeah, he a different nigga when he the lead ref. He a bully when he the lead ref. He a bully. The only type of nigga Tony is, he either the kitchen nigga or the living room nigga. He a hit now. He's steaming my boy. He's one of them other. He's steaming my boy.
Starting point is 01:43:16 You gonna do what we say, regardless. Steaming my boy. You can lead the cleanup crew all you want to, Tony. In the big house? Hey, clean it up. And I know what I have to do. Clean it up. Don't clean it up. But you gonna do what I say now. You gonna do
Starting point is 01:43:28 what I say. Oh man, none of them. Dave is the worst too. Do you think that Sneaky Dave? He's sneaky as hell. Yeah, I think it's a good crew man. Being that Zach is the lead. Yeah, so yeah, I like it man. Them Them dudes just gotta go out and play, man. Like, there's been some questionable calls on both sides, but that shit last game on Dort was egregious. That was definitely a foul. Rick got the tech, like, that shit was egregious. That shit was definitely a foul.
Starting point is 01:43:56 But overall, they gotta do the job. One team depends on how it go. One team always gonna be on the other side of them, whatever call it is, man, but I think it's a good crew. Everybody else, y'all cool with the crew? Yeah. Yeah, I don't think it's gonna rely on them. They okay.
Starting point is 01:44:17 I think promo, talk to them. They don't come out. Yeah, it's over, so they better. All right, we'd like to thank blinds.com for sponsoring today's podcast. Yes, so the Thunder are now one game away from their first title since moving to OKC in 2008. Yesterday, the league MVP was asked about what it meant to be this close to winning it. Here's what he had to say. Now, the cusp of winning is not winning.
Starting point is 01:45:36 And the way I see it, winning is all that matters. So it hasn't been fulfilling. We haven't done anything the way I see it. But I've built great friendships along the way. I've had a lot of fun playing basketball and I think that's where you start. And the organization and the guys around me have done a really good job of building an environment that's fun to come to every day and really just focus on work and getting better and I think that's why we made jumps.
Starting point is 01:46:04 So SGA got the potential game, clenching game coming up. Do y'all like his mentality? Do y'all like what he said? For sure. I've been like his mentality all year, even last year. Looked like he's been on a mission. And you know, the job is not finished. So, you know, he's not, he's always been right there
Starting point is 01:46:24 in the middle to me. So that's what I love about him, man. You know, know, he's not, he's right, he's always been right there in the middle to me. So, and that's what I love about him. And, you know, I think he gets it done tonight. And I just love the fact that like, I would have loved to play in an environment like that, where you could be yourself and just everybody get along and nobody fighting for like star power. Everybody know their role. So I think that it's fun to go to the arena every day,
Starting point is 01:46:45 go to work. Yeah, man. They gonna get it done today. Shaw, do you like his approach to the game? Jaw's not done, yeah. Sound like young Kobe, don't he? Nah. K-Mart.
Starting point is 01:47:02 Yeah, no, he's 100% correct. You're there, you're on the doorstep of it, but he's been around this game and seen history and no strange things, other things have happened. You're on another team's home floor. So, no, you still got to be locked in, man, for another 48 minutes if nothing else, the two games. Yeah, no, he understands what's at stake. So he'll be ready to play. Far as him winning tonight, I don't know. Great chance though. For sure. Especially Halliburton not right.
Starting point is 01:47:37 So. I like his approach to the night. We also got all NBA for Jalen Williams. He's been compared to Scottie Pippen. ESPN's Tim McMahon spoke to both Pippen and J-Dub about this comparison. And here's what Scottie had to say. He is pretty special.
Starting point is 01:47:53 I'm enjoying watching him. I see a lot of me in him for sure. If this kid continues to shoot the three ball the way that he shoots it, I'm not going to sit here and argue with anybody and say that you can compare us, but you can't. He wins. Scottie Pippen on Jalen Williams via Tim McMahon.
Starting point is 01:48:11 Good quotes from the Hall of Famer. Y'all think it's a fair comparison to calling him a young Scottie Pippen? They're reaching. It fits the mold right now, but I don't see Scottie Pippen gaming inside him. Just because he, you want to make him a sidekick or make him whatever. Like the best support, like a support star. Like a support star, you call him Scottie Pippen, but they- He seems like more of a scorer.
Starting point is 01:48:37 Yeah. More of a scorer. For sure, I never seen Scottie do- Scottie has some stuff now. Yeah. He has some shit. Did this nigga just- He ain't never did the one leg.
Starting point is 01:48:45 Nigga wasn't around nigga. Of course he didn't do it. Scottie was hoping though. Scottie was? Yeah this nigga just. When Mike retired, Scottie was hoping. Yup. Look, you know.
Starting point is 01:48:53 He did his thing. Well look, J-Dub also had to answer the question they asked him, and this is what J-Dub had to say about the comparison to Pippen. I feel like a new age Scottie Pippen. Maybe. I'm not mad at that one at all. I like that. So, young fella, he's embracing it.
Starting point is 01:49:18 He's embracing being, you know, I mean, who wouldn't want to be compared to a legend? I know. I mean, Scottie Pippen, six times. It is. Fifth pick, and you know, shit, he did what he was supposed to do. And he's well respected. Yeah. Well respected.
Starting point is 01:49:29 Yep. So, y'all don't think that it's blasphemy to be compared to Pippen? Y'all cool with it? Yeah, I'm cool with it. You cool with it? No, I think they're limiting him. What about the defensive side of the ball? Because that's really what they talking about.
Starting point is 01:49:42 He's a two-way player. Yeah, and that's why I get it, because he's a two-way player. So I'm not mad at it at all. Scottie Pippen played at a high level. And to be on the side of Michael Jordan and playing, I mean, you still did what you were supposed to do. So hey. Shadi, is it fair or foul to compare JDub to Scottie?
Starting point is 01:50:03 I mean, we got to stand on the fact that we've already talked about comparisons already. Like, I remember shit, right? So we not so... Is it fair or foul? So I'm just saying, I don't know if you was going to do that, but I'm... He would do you first. I'm just saying, I'm like, I'm like, shit.
Starting point is 01:50:20 Like, nah, I mean... I didn't want to interrupt. Jalen can't be J. That's what I'm saying. Hey,'t be Jalen. That's good. That was a good one. Jalen can't be Jalen, once you compare him, he's limited. Now he can't get outside of the Scottie Pippen box. Can't get out of there.
Starting point is 01:50:36 So if there was somebody better than Scottie that you could compare him to, you'd be like, nah, you're stuck here. We already compared you to Scottie. You think that means he's stuck, though? It don't mean nothing. Nothing I say mean nothing. You're already stuck here. We already compared you to Scotty. You think that means he's stuck, though? It don't mean nothing. Nothing I say mean nothing. But at the end of the day, if you can compare him to
Starting point is 01:50:53 somebody and not allow him to come into his own, he's never going to be able to be like, yo, I'm just trying. I'm trying to establish myself. So you don't like the comparison? You said nothing that say mean nothing. Can I go? Are you done? You sure? So let's change the word.
Starting point is 01:51:17 In this situation. Instead of compare, he reminds me. I like that. He reminds me of a young Scotty Pippen. His style is like. Right? He reminds me of a young Scotty Pippen. He's 24 years old, right? Coming into his own, all NBA, all defensive NBA, playing for NBA championship right now at a very young age. When it's all said and done, if he keeps getting better like he has been in the first few years and let's, yes. One of the better, is he a small forward, small forward?
Starting point is 01:51:58 Wing, I just called him wing. He's a wing player, whatever he is right now. So yeah, okay, cool, let him keep growing, let him, but okay, if you want to use, he reminds me of a young Scottie Pippen. Cool, when you start comparing people to you guys, just Shia's point just now, people tend to just keep him in this Scottie Pippen box. Right?
Starting point is 01:52:18 When they talk about him, or he's just all shit. He only Scottie Pippen, but forgot six rings. Like, let's, let's, let's stop with the, right? No, but I'm just saying, like, he only Scottie Pippen, but the fuck got six rings. Like, let's stop with the, right? No, but I'm just saying, like, he reminds me of him. And I like, we talked about it yesterday, just the fucking comparison. Like every time somebody mentions someone great, everybody wanna try to poke holes in what this person did
Starting point is 01:52:40 instead of just praising what the other person has done or is doing, right? Do you think this is not just that? Do you think that is not praise to compare him to skype him? Do you think that's the insult? No, no No, definitely think it's an insult, but people are you in my opinion? the word is The problem right? comparison he reminds me of this is just's just so, if you think about the,
Starting point is 01:53:06 if you really jog your memory and go back and look at the way Scottie affected the game and what he did, then you're like, yeah, he remind me of me. Like then you start the conversation on how they play the game and some similarities. Okay, Scottie did this better, Scottie, oh, he does this. So then you start really understanding who these people are and what they mean
Starting point is 01:53:26 to the game, to their team and their individual growth. And stop putting them in people in these boxes. And and that's because it's unfair to the people of past and the current players. Right. So let's go into this conversation because Kyrie Irvin commented on Jamal Tinsley's bag in comparison to his bag, right? Right, so you look at the initial comparison, it's an automatic insult to whoever is being said not to be the better guy because you comparing. I like to see this, I like to see a combination of a guy
Starting point is 01:54:09 like Kyrie Irving has a combination of, like he said, out of his mouth, I got a little bit of Jamal Tinsley, a little bit of Allen Iverson, a little bit of these Rod Strickland. I put all these guys into my game so that I can evolve my own identity and say I got a little bit of all of this. I see Jalen Williams as that type of player where he's trying
Starting point is 01:54:30 to create his own identity through little bits and pieces of everybody else that I've never seen those other guys that they compare to do. Half-span, half-span, come out here, hit you with this, step back three, go out here, block the shot, come down and like he got a lot of shit in his game that a lot of guys had, but couldn't really take it to this level. So if you don't compare him, you actually giving him more credit
Starting point is 01:54:55 because he's becoming something we haven't seen before. Like how Kawhi Leonard was coming up and he started evolving and evolving. We like, yo, this dude is really good. They compared him to Scottie for a second. But he wasn't doing anything different than what we've seen before. Jamal Mashburn type shit. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:55:14 Like he can get to his spots and get to, we've seen it but when you see it from a standpoint of he's trying to make it his thing. This is me. Don't say I'm him. I've studied a little bit of him, but this is my kid. I'm not Pippen. Yeah, I'm not Pippen. I like that y'all get me to, yeah, I like to go.
Starting point is 01:55:31 I'm about to say, he said a new age, more of a new age. He showed respect to the past, but he also stated his individualism at the same time. Because the game has evolved, so, yeah. I mean, I appreciate him. I respect him, actually. I didn't have this freedom. Yeah, he respected that.
Starting point is 01:55:43 So I'm thinking, like, if you keep him in that box, if he becomes better than Scottie Pippen, the reference would be, this is the new Scottie Pippen, instead of being the new Jalen Williams. I think that if he did that, he would get his new Jalen. If he surpassed that, he'd be. They did Kawhi like that. Yeah, they did Kawhi like that.
Starting point is 01:56:02 They moved Kawhi out of the Scottie Pippen box. They used to say he was like Scottie. He would have to. Yeah, Kawhi like that. Yeah, they did Kawhi like that. They moved Kawhi out of the Scottie Pippen monster. They used to say he was like Scottie Pippen. You would have to. Yeah, Kawhi's the call now. He's his own, yes. So, I like that you don't like to put people in the box. I think it's respect, though, at this stage to compare him or, like you said, he reminds you of Scottie Pippen just from the role that he plays.
Starting point is 01:56:19 It's paying homage for sure. Yeah, so I- When you pay homage in a way where it's respectful and it's like, yo, that's what the fans think. It ain't got nothing to do with me, but I respect it. Are they just saying that because he's number two on that team? Yes. That plays a part. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:56:38 All he's just saying is none of this game might be a picture. Well, he's a two-way player like number two, and he's a two-way player. The style may not mimic Scottie, but the fact that he's a two-way player like number two. And he's a two-way player. The style may not mimic Scottie, but the fact that he's a two-way player and he's the second best player on the championship team, that's the mold of Scottie. So think about how limited that is. So he got to be stuck at number two. He got to be stuck at number two.
Starting point is 01:56:55 Why is it that he got to be stuck, whereas he's helping his team? Because of the comparison. He's stuck because of the comparison. The comparison is you put him at number two based on comparing him to Mike and Scottie and their championships and all that. It's like he automatically got to be over here.
Starting point is 01:57:11 He's seen that. He's seen them get mad and get somebody traded just to prove a point. We have seen that. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He don't seem like he got the attitude yet though. Things can change. So moving on The Thunder have outscored their opponents by a total of two hundred and forty seven points at home in these playoffs That's the largest point differential in a single postseason now that they're on the road
Starting point is 01:57:35 Do you think they can continue this dominance or will it be a closer game? We'll know in the first five minutes. Okay, it's season six. It's going to be a fourth quarter game, man. Fourth quarter game? Yeah, it's going to be a fourth quarter game, man. We don't find no aggressors in the first five minutes of Indiana. We don't identify who's going to be the guy that's going to take us all the way down the stretch. It's over.
Starting point is 01:58:06 Ain't going to be no comeback kids. They smell blood tonight. Okay, see, they're going to fit in. We're going to know exactly who to stop, who going to win. We cut all their water off. So you got to be somebody that's going to be unreliable and it's just going to get every possession. I'm coming at y'all no matter what.
Starting point is 01:58:22 If they don't have none of that it's dead But I still got patience and seven. It's nothing worse than getting a very confident jail wins. I Think I think sg and jay will they sense what they smell blood tonight? They're gonna be like so they are already like Should they go down to him like shy said well look Tony brothers gonna get up He gonna get that man that whistle tonight, so be expected to see a of fouls. No, he the man. No, he don't know Tony brothers the one the motherfucker looked other way like he motherfuckin a got to play through that young fella That man give you that look like he's saying something.
Starting point is 01:59:05 You know his face. Yeah, like I want to call it. But he ain't saying shit, but his face kind of look. He's like, damn. Yeah, like I want to call it, but God ain't. Are you smiling or frowning, my nigga? You want to talk? I'm confused.
Starting point is 01:59:18 I am confused right now. Laugh a little bit, nigga. Let me see you chuckle. Well we're going to see. Moving on though, NBA draft. We were talking about the Sixers earlier. Here's an interesting draft angle for them. They were supposed to schedule a workout with Ace Bailey,
Starting point is 01:59:36 but he canceled the workout. We are less than one week away from the NBA draft, and the Sixers have the third pick. Rutgers start Rutgers star, Gaur Wing. Ace Bailey has been third in many people's draft boards. Do you think he can take a slide from canceling workouts? Because this is not his first time he's canceled a workout. Absolutely. I'm not picking it.
Starting point is 01:59:58 Wait, wait, wait. It can't depend on workouts. I thought you said you didn't work out. Okay, go ahead. Last night ESPN draft expert Jonathan Giovanni, Can't depend on it. I thought you said you didn't work out. OK, go ahead. Last night ESPN draft expert Jonathan Giovanni, he had this report to say about Bailey. Rugged star Ace Bailey has canceled his workout
Starting point is 02:00:15 with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told ESPN. Bailey remains the only US-based prospect yet to visit any NBA teams. The Sixers have not ruled out selecting Bailey, sources say. yet to visit any NBA teams. The Sixers have not ruled out selecting Bailey, sources say. I'm like some... Mm, mm, mm, mm. I'm gonna listen for y'all.
Starting point is 02:00:31 Yeah. So Bailey, yeah, he's declined to work out with any teams in his draft range. It was expected to be somewhere between three and eight. And the report also says that Bailey's camps made it known that they feel he's a top-three talent, and they're seeking ample minutes and a path to stardom from whoever selects him. Right now he's sixth on the draft board.
Starting point is 02:00:51 He's been third a lot of the way. So what do you make of how Ace Bailey's Camp is handling this pre-draft process? Who the fuck is over this entitled shit, man? Yeah, like who they think they are. Like, who they think they are. We just saw what they did. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Come on now.
Starting point is 02:01:06 It's not in their head, though, but. Huh? Y'all been there. Know who? Been where? I ain't never been in title. First one. Been where?
Starting point is 02:01:13 Been in title? How many teams you work out for? One. My point exactly. No, but he actually worked out, though. I told you what I did yesterday. And what did you do, motherfucker? I went number one.
Starting point is 02:01:23 But what did you do? Like, shit. I went number one. What did you do? You said you ran and one. But what did you do? Shit, I went number one. So what did you do? You said you ran and jumped and I jumped. I ran and I stepped my ass down. Cause if I didn't go one, guess where I was going? I had already got promises I was going to, so.
Starting point is 02:01:33 You probably got the same thing. Right now, listen, Stu Jackson, Vancouver Grizzlies, still before they moved to Memphis, Stu exact words was, if the Nets do something stupid, by not drafting you one, you won't get past us at two, I promise you that. So you think he got a better opportunity? You think he's getting promises? No, hell no.
Starting point is 02:01:55 Man, he knows he's not going past five or six. Nothing. Come on, man, this is... What you think, BJ? You think his team is going about the right way? No. I mean, you ain't met with no teams yet, so we don't know nothing about you. Huh? What you need to know?
Starting point is 02:02:12 All right. Can we meet you? Hello? No, you can't meet me. You're number one. Are you a LeBron talent? Are you a not-miss talent? Yes.
Starting point is 02:02:20 Yes. Yes. Yes. You a Jack with Shaquille O'Deal talent? I'm everything you didn't see on national TV. I'm everything you did not see. I ain't never heard no shit like that. You don't meet with no team?
Starting point is 02:02:34 Yes, we heard that. He even worked out for the Cavaliers that one time. He worked in man. Rebound. At least he worked out. He worked out though. He hasn't even, zero workout. You still got to know who he is. I don't project the number one pick. Yeah, that ain't no workout man, that's the layup.
Starting point is 02:02:49 Project the number one pick. He projected one three. He know where he wanna go. Think about it, who got the third pick? Philly. I don't wanna go to Philly? Him with nobody. Who the second pick?
Starting point is 02:02:59 San Antonio. I don't wanna go there either. So where you think you're going? I wanna pick where I wanna go. Oh, your fault. Where number four at? Who got number four? See, Bronny got the pick where he want to go there either. So where you think you're going? I want to pick where I want to go. Oh, your fault. Where number four? Who got number four? See, Ronnie got to pick where he wanted to go.
Starting point is 02:03:09 I can't pick where I want to go. Charlie number four. He don't want to go there. Brandon Miller there. Number five. So if he going to drop, Utah. Perfect. That's the quickest way to start them.
Starting point is 02:03:21 Perfect. Nope. Perfect. Then you know if you're a team, you can catch that. That's perfect. That's the quickest way to start them. Perfect. Nope. Not picking. Perfect. Then you know if you're a team, you know you can catch that. You can catch that. They're going to let that fall and drive.
Starting point is 02:03:31 That would be perfect. That would be a perfect pass. Imani Bates. How Imani Bates dropped so far. He still out there looking like he a hidden gem. Call and catch him. If he's smart. Some guys are just that good.
Starting point is 02:03:43 They ain't getting opportunity. So how important is the pre-jab process and the visits and the workouts? My thing is, if you don't wanna get on the floor, you gotta at least go let these team lay their eyes on you. That's all. You ain't gotta work out. I got tape from Rutgers.
Starting point is 02:03:56 We gotta meet you in something. I got tape from Rutgers. You got all that tape from me? You don't see all that tape yet? Definitely gotta go visit. You ain't see all that tape? I'm invested millions in you. You definitely got to go visit. You ain't see all that tape? No. I'm invested in Nilly's team. We got to go save it.
Starting point is 02:04:06 Hey, Prozineas ain't work out for no teams? You don't say that to him? He definitely talked to him, though. He didn't work out for no teams? Nah, but he was already a pro. He ain't working with no number one pick. None of that. He didn't work out for no teams.
Starting point is 02:04:14 I didn't have to work out. But he visited them, though. Listen, I only worked out because I was coming off of an injury. Trust me. Had I not been coming off of an injury, nobody would have gone get to see me. Trust me. But you would have talked to him, though. I would have went to visit him. I would have gone to visit him. I was coming off of an injury. Trust me. Had I not been coming off of an injury, nobody would get to see me. Trust me.
Starting point is 02:04:28 But you would have talked to him though. I would have went to visit, but I wasn't working out. Not at all. Of course, for the business. If I was healthy, man, I wasn't playing in summer league. I wasn't doing none of the above, bro. Thank you. After getting drafted, I wasn't doing none of that.
Starting point is 02:04:40 Thank you. But he still would have visited though. Had I been healthy, I wouldn't have visited though. He hasn't visited. I went to Orlando to visit. I went to Vancouver to visit. I didn't work. I didn't touch the floor. I only did that for the Ness because they said we want to see him run and jump. I did exactly that. You know I was literally Entitled you going you want to see me run a jump I run and I jump and I sit my ass I was going to if they Didn't pick me he know where he's going He know he going on. No team has met with him.
Starting point is 02:05:22 No difference, bro. It's a big difference. No, no, it's not. It's the same conversation. Bro, you're going to go one or two. Since this national player of the year. Exactly. This is not the same time.
Starting point is 02:05:32 It is the same. It's not the same time. Zach Eaton was the number one consistent. He was number 10. People think he was going to win nine, but people didn't think he was going to get drafted. But he was number one. He was two-time player of the year. They threw a bridge out there. Two times. Zach Eaton. Nobody thought Zach Eaton was going nine. Let's not do that. But people didn't think he was gonna get drafted He was two time
Starting point is 02:05:48 Exactly nobody thought that he was going nine. Let's not do that You think he was going nine I Did I thought it was number one two or three? He was on he was on but I was as well because of what he did in college I'm gonna want to say that he was like But if don't nobody meet with you then then nobody talk to you, ain't nobody. That's one thing, that's all I'm saying. You don't have to get on the floor, you ain't gotta do none of that shit.
Starting point is 02:06:10 But at least you gotta go talk to him. Cause you already taking the chance anyway. You already taking the chance. No, you taking chances already on just blind theory. So now you gotta pick me, you'll meet me when you pick me. That sounds crazy. That's shit. So you ain't never got picked'll meet me when you pick me. Like everybody else will. That sounds crazy. That shit is not that bad. So you ain't never got picked by a team you never met with.
Starting point is 02:06:30 You don't think guys got picked by teams they did not meet. No, I never seen it in the top five. No, not top five. I've never seen it in the top five do it. Not that shit. No, even going overseas, we gotta get on the Zoom or something. I'm not just going to a different country. What did you do?
Starting point is 02:06:44 Like I gotta know what I'm doing. What did you do? So what did you do? different country. What did you do? Like I got to know what I'm doing. What did you do? So, so, hold on. What did you do? I don't want to go to fucking Milwaukee. Hold on a second. Was there an interview scheduled with, I mean, was there something scheduled with Philly and he canceled?
Starting point is 02:06:57 That's correct. So that's a problem in itself. Why don't I want to go there? Not scheduled and then canceled. If you didn't schedule it from the beginning, that's one thing. Now you have something scheduled and you cancel it. I'm not picking you with the third pick. I can't trust you.
Starting point is 02:07:11 Because you're talking about running it back. I can't trust you. You ran it in the back. I don't even know you. Where I fit in that? I don't even know. I'm supposed to just. Bro.
Starting point is 02:07:19 I'm leading the blow. So we acting like this don't happen in all sports. Yeah. This happens where I don't want to go here. This happens when I don't wanna go here. That's cool. Don't pick me. That's not what we do. Don't pick me.
Starting point is 02:07:29 They asked me is it okay though. Just because somebody did it don't mean it's okay. We did it. He for instance said he didn't wanna go somewhere. Ronnie James, don't pick me, I'm not comin' here. Here we go. That's a fact. But did they meet though?
Starting point is 02:07:42 But did they meet? Don't matter about me. Don't pick me. I'm not showing up. If you pick me, I don't want to go to your team. It's happened so many times. It's happened. Who is his representation? Swing back, dog.
Starting point is 02:07:53 Who's his representation? Who's Ace Bailey's representation? But yeah, no. Listen, if I'm Philly, I'm not picking him third. For one, I don't need him. For two, I don't know him. You know what I'm saying? Cool, you don't. But but I don't know you and I don't need your talent. So You're gonna fuck up again
Starting point is 02:08:12 Get some other cuz that's a little PG 13 over there. Hey Bailey Are you good enough to not to meet with no team and just show up at the drive everybody else go meet So you good enough to not to meet with no teams and just show up at the draft everybody else go meet Me with the team that he was supposed to Schedule it who did he meet with how do we know it? Hey, you say he's the number one he's the only us born player that hasn't met with the team. That was Yep, oh, who? Who? Bad Biddy.
Starting point is 02:08:47 Uh-oh. Bad Biddy. Yeah, man. Bad Biddy. Oh, good. Okay, it's making sense now. Okay. He was nice, an undersized guard and all that.
Starting point is 02:08:55 He was a really good high school guard. He went to the same high school, too. So he was, I get it. But what's wrong with it? What's wrong with it? Yeah. It's bad advice. What's bad advice?
Starting point is 02:09:04 It's bad advice, man. Telling your client, telling your client, don't go do a B.A. team. It's had, it's bad advice. What's bad advice? It's bad advice man Telling you're happy telling your client don't go do going past The guy that got the guy on the phone that said, listen, we guarantee this spot. We don't got to go do none of that. The same thing he just said about, look, if you stick to number two, we got you. Because he met with them. So you don't have to meet when you know what your time is.
Starting point is 02:09:39 Like, yo, if you don't get me at top three, I'm going to slide into anybody going to pick me up. It's going to be a gift for them. I'm a gift for whoever picked me up. Mm-hmm So if you were to run office, huh, then you go meet with Detroit before you sign. Yeah, they called you Mm-hmm. Yeah, I talked to him. Yeah, so if you was a front office person Would you pass on a player who decided not to work out with you before the draft? It's not work. It's not me. Yes. Yeah for sure. You just let me know you don't really want to be here. No, it's not personal.
Starting point is 02:10:07 I would say it depends on the talent. It's a business. It is. It's draft stock. It's draft stock. It's all business. It's business. If you don't want to meet with me, I'm not here.
Starting point is 02:10:15 If it's someone like Shaq with LeBron, it's out of over. For me, it would depend on the talent. If it's like a phenom, like a Shaq with LeBron, yeah, but I don't think H. Bailey is that though. They still meet it. So therefore. So therefore, I wouldn't do that. So therefore.
Starting point is 02:10:23 Why? Because I'm not here. I'm not here. I'm not here. I'm not here. I'm not here. For me it would depend on the talent. If it's like a phenom, like a Shaq or LeBron, yeah. But I don't think Ace Bailey is that though. So therefore I wouldn't do that. So therefore. So you think Cooper is that? You think he is that? The Shaq or LeBron? You think that?
Starting point is 02:10:36 No. I think he's the consistent number one for this draft. Consistent number one shit is weak. Even Shaq met with teams. Come on, man. Everybody met with teams. Why? What they asked back? Because it's up for discussion. Why is it up for discussion?
Starting point is 02:10:48 No, it ain't. They just said Zach Edie. No, it ain't. Zach Edie. Oh, he ain't number one. It's up for discussion. So why didn't Zach Edie go number one? Because the team been wanting him.
Starting point is 02:10:56 They win another round. And the style is great. So does consensus number one mean you're the number one, you're the best player? You should deserve to be number one? When you say consensus number one, you mean consensus number one, draft board or college? Does it mean that? College. College consensus number one. When you say consensus number one, you mean consensus number one, draft board or college? Does it mean that? College.
Starting point is 02:11:06 College consensus number one. When they talk about the NBA, they talking about consensus on the NBA. Was Zack Eady the best player in college basketball? Yes. Two years in a row. But he wasn't the consensus number one on draft board. He was in the draft.
Starting point is 02:11:16 If Memphis wasn't the number one pick, they would have picked him. They didn't. Why didn't he go number one? Because of undisputed consensus. That means no matter who is available, you're going to pick Zack Eady. No, he wasn go number one. He was the one disputed consensus Who is available you gonna pick? He wasn't number one consistent NBA draft He was a number one college basketball player He's the best playing college basketball we do know that absolutely the Hawks had the first pick correct, yep
Starting point is 02:11:43 That's why we do know that, absolutely. The Hawks had the first pick, correct? Yep. Last year. Yes. Then the Wizards, right? Yep. They chose to go with the guy they went with. That's their fucking preference.
Starting point is 02:11:55 They picked the guy that they wanted in that spot. Like when I was the judge, I can only go on what I'm telling. Listen, I'm coming out, there was talks they was gonna pick Daris Mayer. I said, picking, please. Please picking. You see what I mean? Yeah, I want please picking. I saw him work out in Orlando.
Starting point is 02:12:17 I went, we was in the building at the same time. I saw him work out in Orlando. He's still trying to make fire from the corner. You don't think A said the same shit? Please pick me. Please pick them in front of me, man. Cool, I'm with it. What we saying?
Starting point is 02:12:29 Well. Cool. But I met with him. That's the difference. That's the thing, obviously. That's the whole thing we keep missing. But I met with him. We met with the team.
Starting point is 02:12:38 So at the end of the day, they know who Kenyon is. They know what he about everything. I met you. I got to see you in real time. tape is cool I don't know who he is What's the difference between not the people If I don't know you and I'm giving you money and investment I gotta meet with you This is business
Starting point is 02:12:54 It's people that tell teens not to pick them though It's cool It's teens people that tell teens not to pick them I found that out That's fine but you still gotta meet with somebody But you still gotta show it It's a different age, man. We're not we're gonna have to agree disagree on this. It's a different age Any job I'm gonna do a job interview. I'm with you. I'm just not just hiring somebody and don't know who they are. Yes
Starting point is 02:13:19 You do it with uber all the time. No, I don't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah He said do it with uber. Uber. Uber. Take me here guy, I don't. Yeah. Do it with who? Yeah. He said do it with who? Uber. Uber. Uber. Take me here, guy I don't know. And do it there. Take me here, guy I don't know.
Starting point is 02:13:31 Uber. Deliver my food. That makes sense. That one didn't make sense. That makes sense whatsoever, Rashad. That you reaching, bruh. You reaching. It don't make no sense.
Starting point is 02:13:38 No, not at all. Don't be talking about a million dollar basketball player that you gotta trust. That you gotta trust. That you gotta trust. That you gotta trust. That you gotta trust. That you gotta trust. I'm talking about a million dollar basketball player that you got a fucking Me you can't call my coach They do they don't they do background change do I still want to be with me. I still want to be to me and then you meet with me and you go with they assessment Anyway, that's like you meet with me. You like well, you know, I'm a believe Yeah, believe them anyway, I gotta believe it 100% now cuz I don't know you I ain't met with you So whatever they say I'm going with take your chance
Starting point is 02:14:23 Who no, this is taking him, yes or no? Who? No. The six is taking him. No. No. Is that a beautiful. Who? OK. No. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:14:29 Don't. No. I don't know you. Look, hey, we're not trusting that process anyway. You don't want that, Chad. Y'all can pass. Pass. Please.
Starting point is 02:14:39 Pass the piece. Well, guess what? They are definitely making it easy on teams to pass on them, for damn sure. They going to ask Chad GBT? That I do know. Chad GBT, should we take A-Sleep? Steve, Steve, Steve.
Starting point is 02:14:50 We're gonna move on to our most-saved question. Mostly fans. Who you gonna pick over them? Who's gonna pick over them? Nobody. Nobody. They'll find somebody, trust me. What's the deal?
Starting point is 02:15:10 First question from H-TownCloud99, did the Rockets make the right move by locking up E-May Udoka? It's a long-term deal. Yes. Yeah. The deal will probably make him one of the highest paid in NBA. Yes. He got his face back.
Starting point is 02:15:23 Man. He got what? He got his face back. This. Does this mean more or less like he's got KD also? Less. He lost knee alone. Yeah, I don't know if he going to try to get KD. Yeah. I don't know, man. Like I said, KD a plug and play player.
Starting point is 02:15:38 So if he goes there, you know what you're going to get. If you go elsewhere, you know what he going to get. So. Yeah, that would be nice. But that's good for M.A. Dockerman and the Rockets organization moving forward. You got a coach who you know what he built on. He gonna hold his players accountable. And we'll see what the future holds for him, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:15:53 Yep. Everybody got an idea? The Knicks helped him get this money by trying to speak to him. Say it again now. You think the Knicks helped him get this money? Absolutely. Indirectly. Absolutely.
Starting point is 02:16:04 There was a lot of women that got married money? Absolutely. Indirectly. Absolutely. Mm-hmm. There was a lot of women that got married when somebody else wanted to trust him. Listen. And people were missing. Hey, a whole lot of chicks got a ring because they thought some other niggas wanted her. Trust me, hey, niggas jumped in that freight like two pages.
Starting point is 02:16:19 I'm just saying, bro, it's true. It's the same situation in the British and the Indian. It is. It is. Same shit with Jay, Jay Wright at Villanova. Wait till they found out. Motherfucker, his name was out there in college. Motherfucker, NBA team's wanted, what's going to go through? Wait till they find out. I was in there too, shit. It was me too. I was in there too.
Starting point is 02:16:41 Wait till they find out I'm part of that too. Yeah, that's all. Wait till they find out. Hopping of that too. Yeah, that's all I wait for. You hopping on that bandwagon. Like, make motherfuckers get desperate, bruh. This is what the niggas did. This is a good decision, though. Niggas said, I'm going to go fuck up the market. Let's go ask all the coaches who might who might not have some sturdy levers in the organization. Hey, what you doing over there at E-Me and them?
Starting point is 02:17:05 What y'all doing? You gonna stay with them? Okay, cool. They declined. They declined too. Everyone, oh, say they gotta re-up these guys. Y'all not looking for nothing. Ooh, let's get to the talking.
Starting point is 02:17:19 Let's get to the talking that's bread. Bread talk coming soon. What do we got, Steve? What's next? Bread. Bread talk, coming soon. Hey. What you got Steve, what's next? Next question, Thunder Fan 2 on the verge of potentially winning a title. Give me your OKC all time starting five. Is that included in Seattle? Can we include Seattle?
Starting point is 02:17:39 No. Oh, okay. They been them up for 12 years. Kate. Katie. Sev up for 12 years. KD. Seventeen. KD, SGA, Russ. Teens. Harden.
Starting point is 02:17:54 Ibaka. I'm going on Jaylin Williams, SGA, Russ, James, KD. Russ James Katie Small ball maybe the fire Hell no, I got so big perking there man. Yeah all time Katie Russ SGA,
Starting point is 02:18:26 Arden and... Perk. And Perk. Okay. Yeah, I thought it was Steven Adams, man. You going with Steven Adams? No, no, no, no, no. Shit.
Starting point is 02:18:35 I didn't say no shit like that. Big Perk go get him work, man. I don't know what you got. All time. KD, Russ, Shay's the MVP, Carm, K.D. Russ, um, Shazam VP, uh, Carmelo Anthony. That's not Carmelo. And, um, uh, Paul George. Hey, Paul George.
Starting point is 02:18:55 Yeah, I like, I was gonna say Paul George. Ooh, I forgot about Paul George. Yeah, because Paul George had his best year. Yeah, I forgot about that. I'm gonna have to go back on mine. Right? Yeah, that was a good one. KD, Paul George, Russ, SGA, and I'm going to Ibaka just for five.
Starting point is 02:19:15 I'm going to stick with mine. Yeah, I'm going to go to Ibaka too. I'm going to stick with mine. Perk, set that screen, baby. Roll. All right. Five out. I baby. Roll. All right. Five out. I got your five.
