Gil's Arena - LeBron James' HOSTILE Interview BLOWS UP Gil's Arena

Episode Date: March 26, 2025

LeBron James' HOSTILE Interview BLOWS UP Gil's Arena as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena Crew react to LeBron James' viral appearance on the Pat McAfee show where the Los Angeles Lakers legend fired b...ack at Stephen A Smith following their hostile feud surrounding Bronny James and gives an interesting take on Giannis' ability to dominate old school basketball that sparks a Gil's Arena Meltdown. They also discuss the Warriors' struggles with Steph Curry out of the lineup following his injury and highlight how their only chances of making it deep in the NBA playoffs runs through Steph. Next, they react to the devastating news of Damian Lillard going down indefinitely with blood clots and discuss where Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the Milwaukee Bucks go from here as they likely head into the NBA Playoffs without their full roster for the 2nd straight season. They then react to the Miami Heat STOMPING The Golden State Warriors in Jimmy's return to South Beach and debate if this revenge game was a sign of how things will shake out from the Jimmy Butler trade or if Jimmy will get the last laugh over his former team. Finally, they whip around the NBA and break down record breaking performances from last night including Karl Anthony Towns and Josh Hart making New York Knicks history as the first duo to drop a triple double in the same game and the OKC Thunder clinching a franchise record 60 wins in Shai Gilgeous Alexander's historic 65th straigh game scoring over 20 points. Starting point is 00:01:20 I don't know what type of energy you on. Big crip energy. You know nothing about that? No. I don't know them type of energy you on. Big Crip energy. You know nothing about that? No. I don't know them niggas like that. But this is Gilza Rita presented by Underdog. As always, we got the legend Gilbert Arenas here with us. What up, what up, what up?
Starting point is 00:01:36 We got NBA champion of the world, swagging Pete, Nick Young, back on the couch six times. Seven times champion. Yeah, I'm moving up, moving up. We are elevated. Yeah, man. And on this side of the couch, back on the couch six times. Seven times champion. Yeah, I'm moving up. We are elevated. And on this side of the couch, we got the man known as Cemetery Larry. That's not your name anymore? Not today.
Starting point is 00:01:54 I'm the Cookie Monster. The jar is empty. It's not empty. The jar is empty. We're refilling the jar today. Is the jar half empty or half full we're filling the jar today Is the jar half empty or half full we got the cookie monster the NCAA champion of the world with shop Back in the building. Oh, yeah, you did so good before we start. I know you You want a real championship. What was mine? It was a championship.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Oh, God, God. So you the only one that ain't won. It was with friends, right? It was like, where you at in your picture? In the front, see, right there? It's a couple pictures, me and KD, you know. Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, you got to make sure you get to tell your friends and your kids. Yeah, that's me and KD.
Starting point is 00:02:44 That's KD right there. They're champions, too. That's you right, because they was in the picture, too. It's a family for the champions. So before we get into the show today, I know you saw the group chat this morning. Apparently, Richard Jefferson was on Get Up
Starting point is 00:02:57 and said you didn't do shit to help Arizona and their title get to the Natty game. Wow. I didn't watch the clip, but I don't get up for a 7.30 Pacific. Wait, what is that? What?
Starting point is 00:03:09 He said your contributions were very minimal to help Arizona reach that NCAA championship game. I knew he was trash, all that talk. Against Duke, obviously Arizona Duke take on each other in the Sweet 16. I thought y'all was homies. I thought I led the team in scoring. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:03:22 In the regular part. That's how it always be though. Uh-oh. In the regular part. That's how it always be, though. Uh-oh. Y'all blowing people out. They let the ass person come in. I really thought I led the team in scoring. I really thought that I'm the... They let the walk-on come in and play, you know.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Damn. I think he averaged... What the fuck? I think he averaged 13 and 6 in the tournament. I think that's what he averaged. He said 13 and 6? That's what he averaged. Damn, you knew the exact stats.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I was hurt for two games. I couldn't play and average that. We all see the four and three steals. It's cool. He was Jason Taylor. No, I don't know who he was. No, he was the fourth. He was Prichard.
Starting point is 00:04:04 No. You started off a corner nigga was. No, he was the fourth. He was Richard. No, man. You started off a corner, nigga. You've always been. I mean, we can read the stats. Go back to your roots. You know what I mean? I got the stats.
Starting point is 00:04:15 He also posted a video a while ago, said the night before the Natty game, you were up to some nefarious days, but. Yeah, I was screaming because I had a torn soft tissue in my chest. And that's ultimately why Arizona may not have. Yeah, I tore my chest. I tore a torn tissue in my chest and that's Arizona may not have yeah, I tore my chest to myself tissue and final four So you were fucking zebo and was it Hudson Michigan State? Yeah, I tried to go for a steal and the motherfuckers closed that you know, it was like don't go through the gap Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah that one. I tried to go through I faked and try to go through the gap. So the close it
Starting point is 00:04:45 Yeah, so fuck me up for that game in a championship I tried to go through. I faked and tried to go through the gap. Shoulder first. Closed it. Wow. So, yeah. So, it fucked me up for that game and the championship. So, you were more important to that Arizona getting to the championship game than Richard Jefferson is what you're basically saying on this couch. So, you didn't really play in the championship game. That's fucked up, bro. It's hurt, bro. You almost tasted it. You almost tasted it.
Starting point is 00:05:01 What? You almost tasted the chip. Like, it's like a filling. You gotta say it different. No, did he? Okay, first game. You almost tasted it. What? You almost tasted the chip. Like, it's like a filling. You gotta say it different. No, did he? Okay, first game, ready? You gotta say it different. And my got to rewind, say that again.
Starting point is 00:05:14 A different way this time. I don't know, brother, brother, brother, brother. Who does it look like is the star here, baby? You know what I mean? That's me up there, man. Oh yeah, okay, he can see now. This is what I mean? That's me up there, man. Oh, yeah. Okay, he can see now. This is what I do.
Starting point is 00:05:28 That's what he do. This is what I do. This is what he do. That's one game, though. That's one game. You can't tell me no one game. Pritchard should have 40.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Pritchard just did have 40 with Derek White. All right, so you was white. You was Derek White. Derek, okay. I get it. You better look at that. I'm on Illinois. Illinois to get to the championship, man. It was Derrick White. Derrick, okay. You better look at that. I'm on Illinois.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Illinois to get to the championship, man. It was a one-man show out there, man. I think you scored, what did you score, four or five? You only played, but that is true. Fight back, RJ. You only played four games. Fight back, RJ. RJ, fight back on the next episode of Get Up.
Starting point is 00:06:01 No, I played first game, 21. I got hurt in there, so I think that, what's the name, I had like six steals. But I got hurt in the middle of the final four games. Oh, so you missed two games. I was in hampered two games.
Starting point is 00:06:14 In hampered. What does that mean? Hurt. So basically what he's saying is true, you didn't do shit. I mean, we averaged the same amount and he had two full games
Starting point is 00:06:22 over me. That's how bad it was. It gets harder as you... Eight, eight. Like, I mean, he was cool. He was a and he had two full games over me. That's how bad it was. It gets harder as you... Eight, eight. Like, I mean, he was cool. He was a nice little four-fiver. A cool eight. He had a good championship game.
Starting point is 00:06:31 It gets harder, that's why. Yeah, I know. Nick, listen, man. Right here, this is... The first game you played... I'm not going to keep telling you how to talk, but listen. This is right here. It gets harder, man.
Starting point is 00:06:40 This is Elite Eight. Look, what happens is harder. Elite Eight. I had 18 points. First 18. I was outscoring Cuz I looked at what he said I clearly remember Clearly remember who the star was at a team Like like when Iggy said the best player to ever play in Arizona, it was, yeah, me. But why would he say it? He always said because I had a bad championship.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And that was his game. So he mad at you. No, no, that was just his best game. The bad game you had was his best game. Yeah, yeah. He had 19. A little 19. So he was a star that night.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Yeah. Oh, shit. And it's gone to his head. Him and Dunleavy. Oh, shit. And Dunleavy was whopping his ass. That's when they won, shit. And it's gone to his head? Him and Dunleavy. Aw, shit. Oh. And Dunleavy was whoppin' his ass. That's when they won, though.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Okay. Yeah, they lost the championship. Okay. So I'm glad. Dude, with J. Will and them. I got, yeah, so it was my fault, because I didn't. Almost had that championship experience. I was four for 17.
Starting point is 00:07:36 You lost to Jason. I respect you still getting them shots up, though. I had to. Oh, yeah, four for 17. I had to. I couldn't shoot, but I had to. RJ, you got an open invitation. It was like a four-inch field in the locker room.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Just like, hey, go down, shoot, and just go down. I had to. I had to. I had to. I had to. Oh, yeah. Four for 17. I had to. I couldn't shoot, but I had to. RJ, you got an open invitation. It was like, hey, go down shooting, just like old boys from St. John's. He was three for 17. Ain't no black. At least you kept playing. RJ, you have an open invitation to come back to the arena. It was crazy how I carried this thing.
Starting point is 00:07:58 And confirm or deny Gil's assessment. Is your back hurt? Your back? Yeah, I ain't even realize. Like, damn, I was doing a lot of that. I ain't be living around here. You ain't do shit. Four steals. I average three steals a game.
Starting point is 00:08:08 You ain't do shit. Stop showing me that damn phone, man. I can't see you. Stop seeing him show me his phone. This is the game I got hurt. I had 12, six steals, seven assists. Boy, I was sitting there, motherfucker. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:08:16 All over. Spider-Man. Hey, what you doing? Did you get to the championship? Oh, shit. I got to the Elite Eight. Oh, shit. I got to the Elite Eight.
Starting point is 00:08:24 I got to the Elite Eight. I got to the Elite Eight. I got to the Elite Eight. I got to the in that motherfucker. All right, all right. Spider, man. Hey, what you doing? Did you get to the championship? Oh, shit. And I averaged 30 the whole time. Man, I can't even imagine. I had too many people on my team to do that. Me too.
Starting point is 00:08:39 So for all the fans out there. We got the same amount of people on our team. No, no, no. He got the star. Like, he can talk over us because he had other McDonald's players. Me too. You didn't have no McDonald's. Who was yours?
Starting point is 00:08:51 None of yours. I had NBA draft picks. No, McDonald's. Todd Gibson. Who better than Todd Gibson on your team? I had Richard Jefferson, McDonald's, Jason Gardner, McDonald's, Lauren Woods, McDonald's, Michael Wright, McDonald's. Nobody knows.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I don't know. And then it was just one. You should have just named it. It was a burger. I got it Lauren Woods. McDonald's. Michael Wright. McDonald's. Nobody knows. I don't know. And then it was just one. He was just named. The Burger King. I got it. Todd Gibson. No, no. He's legit.
Starting point is 00:09:11 All of them was legit. No, we was damn near supposed to be the best college team that ever played. For sure. For sure. But they had you and y'all lost. That's why. That's enough. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:09:21 I don't like it. I don't like it either, Joe. I don't like it either. We're supposed to be together. We're supposed to, you know. We like it either Be brothers on this couch supposed to unite before all the fans out there This is the shit Richard is a instigator right at Richard like to do RJ the mean indicator We lost cuz the Dunleavy had a great game So his man for all the fans out there
Starting point is 00:09:42 We still got two viewing options for your. Our traditional version, mobile vertical version. Pick whichever one you want to watch. Just make sure you support the show. Here's what's cracking in the arena today. Jimmy Butler played his first game in Miami against the Heat since the trade, and the Dubs got smacked. But will Jimmy get the last laugh? Dame Lillard, out indefinitely with a blood clot in his right calf,

I don't believe it. Norman Powell, higher 17.5 points. He lost that one. Was it Norman Powell?
Starting point is 00:10:53 Wow. LeBron, higher 1.5 three-pointers made. The Lakers in Indianapolis taking on the Pacers. LeBron was on Pat McAfee's show. We're going to talk a little bit about some of the things he had to say on that program. Austin Reeves, higher 1.5 three-pointers made. Austin Reeves hired 1.5 three-pointers made. Derek White hired 3.5 three-pointers made.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Celtics are at the Suns tonight. Josh Hart. Josh Hart went bad. You think he's going to score more than that? He just had a triple-double. Triple-double. Him and Cat became the first Knicks duo with a triple-double. He's going to give you 15.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Today is a good day. No, he's going to give you 15. But it was 12 points. Today is a good day. When was the last time you 15. But it was 12 points, though. Today is a good day. When was the last time you scored over 13 points? Literally yesterday. Yesterday. Yesterday.

Starting point is 00:13:45 Some of y'all have been extremely lazy, have not been subscribing to the show at the rate that we need. We're trying to hit a million subs by tomorrow. That is tomorrow, Thursday. We were at 993 yesterday at the end of the show. We have the counter right here. Shout out to the crew. That's nice.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Where is it? That's Versace. That's nice. I didn't know that. So the channel is now over 994,000 subscribers. We didn't even get any clap from anybody in this arena right now. That's how disappointed. Don't give me the courtesy clap now.
Starting point is 00:14:13 I know why they're disappointed. They feel they're going to be left out of the party. If we get a million subs, we're having a function tomorrow. Win, lose, or draw. But we need to get to that million subs. They got a cake and everything. It ain't a 997 cake or a 998 cake. It is a one million subscriber cake, Gil.
Starting point is 00:14:28 That's crazy. We need our plaques. We need a bunch of shit over here in the arena. It says one million on it? It might say 997, just depending on how shit goes. Better get one that says 997 and enjoy it, because... Still an accomplishment. If it don't say one, if it says one million, I can only eat it when it get to one million.
Starting point is 00:14:42 I'm selfish. We only eat one million cakes in this arena. But we are giving away at least $1,000 on the show today. Something tells me it's gonna be a little bit more. Hey, you got lotion? I was just about to get you a cup of me. I was just about to get you a cup. I'm giving you one.
Starting point is 00:14:55 No. Putting lotion on me and there ain't no cup of me? No. Duh. Hopefully HR is not watching the show right now. I'm just... You can't lotion up another man. I don't understand. I'm not understanding.
Starting point is 00:15:06 I know. I wasn't either. What kind of... Did you put some kind of vocabulary thing in your back? You just... Paul. Gay. Today.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Today, gay. Today, we're going to do this. This is what we're doing? Community pack. This is not a feeling today. Shit. This is not a feeling. Damn.
Starting point is 00:15:23 You really brought the lotion. Don't put it between them. You handing lotion to two men? No, it's one man. Fuck. I said it's one man. It's the one. You the only one doing the action.
Starting point is 00:15:32 It's like activator for a jerry curl, Swaggy. Go ahead, moisturize, get ready to go. We got a lot to get into. It's not a good scene. We're going to start overseas on this particular episode. The NBL finals wrapped up this weekend with the Illawarra Hawks coached by Justin Tatum, Jason's dad, winning the series over Melbourne United
Starting point is 00:15:50 to secure their first chip in 24 years. The Melbourne United squad features former NBA champion and Cavs legend Matthew Delevadova. Even though his team lost a chip, Dele was named NBL Finals MVP, but Dele did something interesting after getting the award. let's take a look
Starting point is 00:16:08 Devo, this really belongs to you, you had a hell of a series congratulations on the win to our boys, thanks for a fun season, To our families, we appreciate everything you do. But Devo, this is yours. A moment that'll live forever. A moment that'll live forever. That was a janky looking finals MVP award there. You could have just tossed it to him, but. Davo is Hawks guard. Will Davo Hickey dropped 21 points, 10 boards,
Starting point is 00:17:16 eight assists in the win to help his team win the chip in game five. Do you guys respect Dele for coming off his finals MVP since his squad lost in the finals? How much he had? You don't know? Who respect Dele for coming off his finals MVP since his squad lost in the finals? Man, how much he had? You don't know? Who? Dele.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Five. Not enough. Five, two, and two? No, no. He didn't do... He had a decent game, but... What was it? Team loss.
Starting point is 00:17:39 He had like 15 or so. He averaged like 15 for the finals. No, no. What did he have that game? Five, two, and two? Wait, wait, wait, wait. And they gave him a final there? He was home.
Starting point is 00:17:48 It was home. Oh. You heard everybody booing. Yeah, yeah. So it was one of those things where he felt that it was somebody else's trophy. And, you know, he did the commendable thing. I mean, it kind of makes the voting process a little janky. That's an embarrassment to them.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Like, come on, dog. I get it, but, you know, this is his, so. He kind of slapped them in the face, but it seemed like it was well-deserved. He might not win another award after that, huh? Huh? You give him another award after that? Give who? Dudley, whatever. What award are you going You give him another award after that? Give who? Dudley, whatever.
Starting point is 00:18:27 What award are you going to give him? Dave, though. He lost, and his numbers was worse. But I'm just saying, what if he go back again, and they win,
Starting point is 00:18:34 and he falls out? No, no, what I'm saying, this is like the finals against Golden State, and then you know how like Igor Dalek got it, right? He deserved it. No, no, but no.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Do you know how like LeBron averaged 39? Right? This is like giving it to him why on that calf's team delavadova had 21 10 and eight no the other person that's david davo uh david de la vadova no david will davo hickey had the one he gave the trophy will hickey hickey he had they both they both had the same stats yeah del Hickey. Hickey, he had the 21. They both had the same stats. Yeah. De La Vadova had 21, 10, and 8.
Starting point is 00:19:08 He had 21, 10, and 8. Oh, man. So they gave it to De La Vadova, he lost. That's crazy. Had the same stats. See how you green, gas, is that green lighting? Gas lighting? Gas lighting.
Starting point is 00:19:19 See how you gas lighting? I said green light. Green light is, it means we good. We good to go. How you glass lighting it means we good. We good to go. Glass lighting? Not glass lighting. We are confirmed. Grass lighting.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Grass lighting. Yeah, grass lighting. It just don't sound right saying grass. Yeah, you grass lighting? Yeah, that's better. Snake in it. He's snake in it. I can't believe you, Gil.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Wi-Fi, Lil' Janky in the arena right now. He's turning into real media. Yeah, he did the right thing. Oh! Wi-Fi, J Why fight Jackie too many, okay Mikhail bridges Damn I got my count sorry. I had my kills. Oh, yeah, I wanna hear you know what knows on the clock. Okay? We were only ever you're gaslighting, you didn't want to hear it?
Starting point is 00:20:09 I just learned that the other day. You just learned it? USC type stuff, you know? USC extension. You got them extension classes going? You feel me? Take online classes. But I feel like that's dope.
Starting point is 00:20:19 That's dope, though, man. I feel like they was, How much did they lose by? Was it a close game? Like 10, something like that. There's no system in place where the loser gets to win. I ain't seen it in a long time. Well, I ain't never seen it. That's the last time it was.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Wes? Mr. Wes? Jerry Wes? Gerald Wes. So... You said Jerry Wes? Yeah, that's probably the last time, but I don't think nobody's seen it. That's why they stopped it.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Stop giving the MVP to the loser. Gil, if you were the one that finals MVP like Dele did, would you have come up off of it? You know, he don't pass nothing. Now, Dele in that game five had 5.7 assists, two rebounds. Say that again. How much he had? 5.7 assists, two rebounds. Say that again. How much he had? 5.7 assists, two rebounds in that game.
Starting point is 00:21:11 He had the 21, 8, and 10. The deciding game. The series clinching victory. You know what? We don't know who to believe at this point. I don't know who's right or wrong. No, he's right. I read the wrong stats. What the fuck, man?
Starting point is 00:21:26 Now I got to take the gas line and retract my statements. I'm gonna be an honorable man. You was right. Should I get Edwards and Garland? It's even worse. Pay attention to me. Even worse? That's the worst. But I'm saying, on another note,
Starting point is 00:21:39 how you gonna give that man the finals MVP after he dropped 572? That's the sticker. Because it was him? The game decided. Because they was at home, right? He was a lighter shade of skinned it. He was the MVP of the season.
Starting point is 00:21:52 He was the MVP of the season. The Lovadova. Oh. And how much did he average the whole year? Averaging 14-4. See, over there, stats like that, like that's... Then he had five. He had five.
Starting point is 00:22:06 They basically was trying to give it to him because he's like their best player. And he made it but didn't win. Okay, okay. Hometown hero. So, like, 14 is, like, good over there, right? Solid. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Like, Euro. Euro League is, like, 18, 18, 18. Dele's first four games, yeah, 18, 14, 16, and 17, but then he put up the stinker in game five. Still got the finals MVP. But I heard it's like hard to score like that over there. They play college-type rules and shit. But bring in my next question.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Did you ever get an award that you feel like you didn't deserve? Ever get an award in your life that you feel like you didn't deserve? Adam? It's you. that you feel like you didn't deserve? Ever get an award in your life that you feel like you didn't deserve? Abby? It's you. I'm no award, is it? You don't deserve me? No, I'm just saying, have you ever got an award you didn't deserve?
Starting point is 00:23:00 Thank you, man. I know you appreciate me, man. No, he's asking you. I'm asking the couch, but... Nah. I pretty much won everything. I'm not... No, no. No, I'm not. No.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Wow! Gil, we don't care about your basketball draft. Pay attention. You're messing up the show. At the six and seven pick, I got... What the fuck they doing? Don't ask me. I got Tatum and LeBron. Okay, well, they actually do care about that. That's a good combo. That's the last pick I got.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Shox, I saw you talking to the skull. Did you ever feel like? Trying to tell me to put him on. I was like, yeah, come on. I'm like, no. Hearing voices. Hearing your. We took an oath.
Starting point is 00:23:41 We took an oath. We took an oath. Did you ever feel like you won an award you didn't deserve? No. You deserve everything you got in life. Except for these cookies. Those are... I did not deserve these.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Just like the prior owner. LeBron didn't deserve his cookies, y'all. There's a clear do not touch sign on the cookies. Exactly. Somebody been eating my cookies. The Cookie Monster. cookies exactly they have somebody been eating my cookies the cookie monster brother can you answer the damn question yeah i feel like you were trying to push waggy towards saying something no i'm just telling him to answer the question have you ever got an award that you didn't deserve? Damn, Nick. I don't know where he at today.
Starting point is 00:24:27 No, man, I'm just asking, man. A professional basketball league, perhaps, maybe. Well, one time I was walking. That's what it looked like out there. I was walking, right? Damn. Traveling? Just walking.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Just traveling. Randomly walking. Somewhere. Up and down the court. Just tripped. Triing? Just walking. Just walking. Randomly walking. Somewhere. Up and down the court. Just tripped. Tripped onto a championship. Tripped.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Failed. Got a ring. Crazy. This lady helped me up. Mm-hmm. Took her to the house.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Didn't know I was going to get the award, but it just happened randomly. You feel me? And I'm like, ooh, that's a good championship award. She gave me and I don't know what else. You know? So I think we both won that day. He's the winner.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Yeah. Let's high five. Let's high five. Ha, ha, ha. Yes. Yes, sir. Sounds similar to the nicest thing you've ever done for a fan.
Starting point is 00:25:22 A little bit, but this one was somebody I wanted. It was like somebody previous had her, and he left the team. Oh, no. Oh, you got the biggest reward. Biggest reward. I wanted that. Wow. Because I was young.
Starting point is 00:25:41 He was looking at it from afar, over there with the side eyes. I was like, damn, man, I wish I could get it. But it was my turn. It was my turn. They traded. Pass the fees, like we used to do. Yeah. She came in the house.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Hey, this house looks familiar. I said, yeah, the previous owner used to live here. He let me borrow it. You remember this couch? You remember this? You remember this couch too, huh? Right over here. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Yeah. Let's move on to some actual. This is good. That's a good award. NBA basketball topic. So, what should have been the biggest story tonight, but was a major letdown. After getting traded to the Warriors before the deadline,
Starting point is 00:26:24 the eyes of the basketball world were on Jimmy Butler making his return to South Beach Tuesday night in his first game back against the Heat. Before the game, TNT's Taylor Rooks asked Jimmy what would happen if and when he saw Pat Riley at the game. Jimmy responded, I have nothing to say to Pat, and Pat better have nothing to say to me. There was no love lost between the former co-workers,
Starting point is 00:26:44 but the Heat still gave Jimmy his flowers and then proceeded to give him an L in the blowout win. So, the Heat honored Jimmy with a pre-game tribute video before he was introduced in the starting lineup. Let's take a look at it. He did watch. It was a beautiful
Starting point is 00:27:00 moment. Jimmy Buckler! There was Jimmy getting his flowers with the weave braid in his dew. But after much anticipation, the fans also gave him a standing ovation as well. But after much anticipation, the game turned out to be a hot pack of mid as the Heat cruised to an easy win, never trailing in the game. Jimmy finished with 11 points on 5 of 12 shooting along with 6 rebounds. Was passive throughout the game.
Starting point is 00:27:31 We were watching on playback during our playback watch party. Told them to turn the channel, which they refused to do. Jimmy was rarely looking for scoring opportunities in the game. Warrior starters combined for 10 points in the first half with the five players only scoring two points each going five for 20 from the field combined. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 27 points and eight rebounds scoring 16 of those points in the first half. Tyler Herro had 20 points and seven dimes. He was seven for ten from the field. Andrew Wiggins had 10 points on four of 13 shooting in his first game against the Dubs. As the final buzzer sounded, Jimmy left the court without dapping up any of his former
Starting point is 00:28:08 teammates. Andrew Wiggins stayed on the court, hung out with the Dubs for a little bit, and Steve Kerr. After the game, Jimmy was asked about playing his first game against his former team and had this to say. Like I always say, I got a lot of love for this city, for the fan base here. Video was nice. I won't say that there's a lot of emotions, though.
Starting point is 00:28:25 I think I went to this thing level-headed. We wanted to win the game. It didn't go the way we planned, but we'll be alright. I feel like this is closure. I mean, I know you had said, and all the guys in the locker room had said too, that this is in the past already, but do you sense like tonight, coming here, getting the fan response, all that stuff kind of puts it in the past? I mean, it was behind me a long time ago. As soon as I ended up in Golden State Warrior, everything that went on was dead.
Starting point is 00:28:53 So, you know, like I always say, I'm always focused on, like, the right now and what's to come. So I'm here as a Golden State Warrior, and I got a job to do. So Jimmy's been known to do some trolling. After the game, the Heat returned the favor by posting this photo on the team's official Twitter account To all season sweep against the Golden State Warriors a photo features Jimmy and bam out of bio staring each other down So we watch the game on playback or try to obviously. Obviously, there's a lot of distractions going on. But how did Jimmy Butler look in his first game against the Heat since the trade?
Starting point is 00:29:30 Ain't that the type of pettiness he wanted them to do? No, they should have put in score. How he look? He look the same way when he left. Just different jersey. And what was that way when he left. Just a different jersey. And what was that way when he left, Gil? Five, seven, eight, nine, ten points. How many shot attempts though?
Starting point is 00:29:56 Twelve shot attempts in the game. Going around looking at... Did not make a three-pointer in the game, so... Oh. Looking at the moon. As you predicted. I said that. I know my players.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Scott Report is real. Damn. But, I need. He not happy with basketball, period. You think so? That's what it look. He don't got no, you supposed to. Look, no Steph, we got it.
Starting point is 00:30:25 No Steph going into my old territory. I'm up all night. I can't sleep. I'm going for 50 No matter what I'm telling everybody listen, man. I'm shooting that bitch every single time Especially if Tyler here on me Every single time he's gonna have to foul me or let me score. What are you... He drank coffee right before the game. That's what the fuck happened. He did have a cup of coffee as he entered the arena. I knew it. My brother's on decaf. He's on decaf.
Starting point is 00:30:53 You did not know the caffeinated coffee was on decaf. I knew it was decaf. It did not appear to be. He didn't drink coffee before the game? No. Dehydrates you. Shit. I didn't know that before the game? No. Dehydrates you. Shit, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Yeah. I didn't know that either. I did. I don't know why we got dehydrated. You dehydrated. You be thirsty as hell. I'm going to be all fucked up. Dry. Dry to the motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Yeah, that's what it do. It dry you out. Damn. It show up with the coffee. I didn't know that. Better not talk to me. I ain't going to talk to you. All that energy, man.
Starting point is 00:31:23 You can't say all that and not back that up, bro. But as we know, when Taylor Rooks is around, people are known to say something. Oh, that's what it was? I don't think Pat wanted to talk to me after that performance. Man, Pat was eating pasta. Man, eating pasta, twisting it up. Yeah, Jimmy. Don't worry.
Starting point is 00:31:40 We ain't got shit to say to you either. Shit. Tabela. So, fair to say to you either. Shit. Talk bad lies. So fair to say Couch disappointed, expected more from Jimmy in that return, make a statement. They got smacked by 26 points in the game. But it was either going to go two ways, you know, him trying to come out gunning or him thinking too much during the game, getting emotional.
Starting point is 00:32:06 He could act tough and all that, but obviously you've seen it on his face. I feel like he was more focused on the outside of being in Miami than on the court. Right. Yeah. Like I said in playback, man, you ain't seen your work in a long time in Miami. You're coming back. You're probably trying to see. It's been six weeks.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Yeah. You got like three favorites. That's different. Miss some energy. When you got miss some energy, you might not show up to the next phone games. Nigga, you down for the next phone. You probably try to get it in before the game. Sheesh.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Try to see three of them. You know? Wild drinking coffee? What did Wiggins do, though? They both was like the same. Man, Wiggins made sense. It was Trapper, that motherfucker. That one made sense.
Starting point is 00:32:58 The Warriors seemed to take the Wiggins match up first. Yeah, they did. They took it personally. All that goddamn energy he was talking and all that shit talking about pat this, pat that. And then you get there and then you're... How many shots you took? Twelve field goal attempts in the game. Five for twelve from the field.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Sometimes you have those nights, man, when you're just thinking your body wasn't right. You filmed yourself playing dominoes. Five for 30. Five for 30. Spirit of domino games. Filming yourself playing dominoes before the game, letting the Heat know, like, Jimmy is really think we playing. Five for 30.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Hey, and then you know what Pat Riley said? He came down there before the game and he said, this is heat culture. Let him know this shit was here before him. Teach him a lesson. He think he was going to win? Like, does he think we'd give a fuck if he wins the game? Like, I don't. Like, 60 in the loss, you won that.
Starting point is 00:34:05 You let him know who's king. But you get 10 and win. That's a good point. He wins the game. If you go outside What's his career high? That should have been a career high. No, he had 51 in Chicago. That's supposed to have been the career high.
Starting point is 00:34:22 But he's not like, he averaged 53 with the Bulls. He's also had a 52-point game. I'm right there, though. He said 51. 250 pieces in his career. That's supposed to... I'm not supposed to know Jimmy Butler's career high.
Starting point is 00:34:35 But... Very impressive. Ain't this Bam's best game of the season, too? No. 27? This probably... Yeah, probably his... Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:34:43 One of his most... One of his most... Like, good, you showed up. Yeah, yeah his... Yeah, that's what I'm saying. One of his most... One of his most... Like, good, you showed up. Yeah, yeah. Like, Bam had a theme. You hear Jimmy say he had spoke to T-Row and... Yeah, and K-Love. That were the only people he communicated with.
Starting point is 00:34:56 And when they interviewed Bam earlier after the trade, he didn't have a lot to say. Like, defer, like, yeah. Like, Bam was ready. I think Bam took that challenge and that's why they took that, they posted that picture because there's a riff.
Starting point is 00:35:09 They also posted the photo of him dunking on you. So the only one that was ready was the two niggas that stayed in Miami. The two people that got traded was, y'all was just. Maple Jordan and Jimmy Buggers.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Y'all was just chilling. But I guess sometimes. We not talking about Wiggins energy though towards the other side. He had 42-piece to premium. We not even looking at how Wiggins supposed to feel and how he didn't show up, too, right? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:35:35 But he got doubled. Like, as a coach, that's what I'm doing. I'm doubling you. He got doubled? Yeah. Like, half court, they was pressing the shit out of that man. Hmm. They probably knew what to do. They seen him in practice.
Starting point is 00:35:48 So they was treating him as primary? Yeah. Yeah. No step. No, I'm not. You're just not going to get off on me. I know what your energy is. I'm not going to let you get off on me.
Starting point is 00:35:57 Miami was basically just like, yeah, we'll see what he do. So 45 games this season. Jimmy's only had one game where he's attempted more than 20 field goal attempts. This should have been game number two in your gentleman's estimation. It was a pull. I mean, you're going, like... Who else had the most? What was the other shot attempts for everybody else on the Warriors?
Starting point is 00:36:14 On the Warriors? Let me pull it up for you. I think the first quarter, they only had two. Everybody had two. Like, 2.2 points. They were five for 20. Everybody on the squad. They went out, man.
Starting point is 00:36:24 Their five starters only had two points. The bench had 30, I believe, in that first half. Wow. Ten points for the starters, 30 for the bench. So let's take a look at field goal attempts. Brandon Pajemski. He had more points, right? Had 14 points, was six for 16 from the field.
Starting point is 00:36:38 Moses Moody. 16 shots. Took 13 shots. 16 shots. Jimmy was third with 12 shots, and Kaminga came off the bench, took 10 shots. Kaminga off the bench is taking more shots. 16 shots. Jimmy was third with 12 shots, and Kaminga came off the bench, took 10 shots. Kaminga off the bench is taking more shots. Damn.
Starting point is 00:36:52 He only took 10 to Jimmy's 12. My question, I really want to have this question, though. What is Draymond giving the team? In that particular... Not in this particular, I'm just saying, is he supposed to be giving the Warriors something that Jimmy can bounce off of? Or is it just the name right now? Well, I mean, Draymond, I think the frontrunner for defensive player of the year right now.
Starting point is 00:37:12 So it's defense? That's... Okay, so he gonna anchor to defense, but offensively... And play make, like... He had two points in the game. We know what he do defensively. He's a motherfucking monster. Two points in the game, four field goal attempts, 0 for 3.
Starting point is 00:37:25 But how we talk about the defensive liability, when you're not giving us offensive output, you got the guys who can't shoot that are on the floor, that are stopping you from the swing swing. Kaminga can't hit that shot. You got Brzezinski can't hit that shot. Then you got Draymond that's trying to pass to nobody. That ain't Steph Curry.
Starting point is 00:37:42 That's what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying? So what is Draymond's worth if Steph is not on the floor? Well, he needs shooters, really. Mm-hmm. He needs people to hit shots. He's more of a floor general, get people in their spots. But if you rely on Brzezinski to be your main scorer,
Starting point is 00:38:02 it's over for the Warriors. Brandon Brzezinski, 16 field goal attempt, 6 for 16 from the field. It's a game where Kaminga should have started, really. Ah, it's just next man up. Everybody got to update output. Steph is down. We can't, we have to score more. It's 30 a
Starting point is 00:38:18 game. We have to all score more. So what's the mentality? Kaminga, Butler. What's the offense? If Steph's not on, Camiga, Butler. What's the offense? If Steph's not on the floor, are we still running the same shit? Yeah. Why? That's all I know.
Starting point is 00:38:32 That's weird. We don't have this guy to run this offense. Why are we running this? That's why the offense look trash. Very difficult to watch. Adjustments. No, because the offense is made, it's plug-in play. You know it's made for Steph.
Starting point is 00:38:48 It's made for Steph when you see hills moving and you sit and scream, but the offense is really made for everybody. So if you see Steph moving, you'll do the right play and give Steph a shot before you take the shot.
Starting point is 00:38:59 But the actual play is successful because of who? Because of Steph, right? But that's every team. No, no, who? Because of Steph, right? But that's every team. No, no, no, because of Steph, right? Every star on every team. Why the OKC win? Because of Shea.
Starting point is 00:39:10 So we take Steph out. Take Steph out. So you put Progenci in there. Is Progenci going to make the same play Steph going to make in this play? No. Even though we can insert him in, but he's not going to make this play like Steph is. That's why we put it in for Steph.
Starting point is 00:39:24 But it's everybody. You take Joker out. What the hell? Who's going to put it in? Is not going to make this play like Steph is. That's why we put it in for Steph. But it's everybody. You take Joker out, what the hell? Who are we going to put in? Is he going to make the same play? You've got to change your offense. Watson. You've got to change your offense. Don't put the same offense.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Take Shea out. It's goddamn. Change your offense. No. This offense is for him. You can't put Jalen Williams in the Shea position and say, do this and be successful. He ain't Shea.
Starting point is 00:39:44 You can't put him in J. Williams. You shade position to say, do this and be successful, he ain't shade. But you got to put in J. Williams. You said Pazegu. Steph and Pazegu is not shade and J. Williams. Pazegu and Steph Curry, right? Yeah. That's not the same. Pazegu and Steph, right? Listen, listen.
Starting point is 00:39:58 Just do initials. Just call them pods. Just call them pods. Just do initials. Just call them pods. Who's I know today? I'm just saying. Just call them pods.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Can I fit everybody? Pazegu and Stephs. Just call him Paz. Who's I know today? I'm calling Paz. Can I fit everybody for Ziski and Steph? You can't sub them and say we're going to still run the same offense. Be like, we're going to be successful. He's good at Steph. He shot 16 shots. Try to be Steph. Change the offense, Steve. What you doing?
Starting point is 00:40:21 He not Steph. If you change the offense, those 16 shots still gonna be what they're used to. Not if we're running plays where you're going to the rim getting wide open shit when we're running actual sets. So you think he's gonna get no wide open shots, Pazinski? Did he make them? He wouldn't make them if you really got the play.
Starting point is 00:40:38 If it was a layup? If it was a different play, it's the same result. If we do a hot cut, do a flex cut. The one that's called it is Pazinski. Layup. It's Pazinski. Whatever play you ball is, it's Pazinski. Lay up. It's Pazinski. Whatever play you run, remember it's Pazinski coming off the screen. Pick and roll. That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Brandon Pazinski. Pazinski. So look, foot, body, heel in the situation. Cool. You can't run the same shit. Just rest up. No, let's run a pick and roll with Pazinski. You can't run the same shit. Let's run a screen down with Pazinski.
Starting point is 00:40:59 Let's win a fucking. See you, Kerr. Got to go. Talk to your coach. It don't matter what it is you run with, but this is gonna be the same. We're in the position. See, I don't give a fuck what the playbook is.
Starting point is 00:41:13 This is my old team. I gotta shoot. I gotta shoot 40 fucking shots. He do. He do. Like, Jimmy, I... Listen, I get it, man, but I don't know if you get it.
Starting point is 00:41:27 At this point, at this point, the world was waiting for you. You got this. Yes, to show us this shit. You could have made a... Give your... National television team...
Starting point is 00:41:37 I don't care if you go one for 40. At least I know you went out letting guns fly. Let that motherfucker go. Soon as I see him start attacking and then started veering up this way, I was like, oh, shit. You don't want it. That's how he was playing.
Starting point is 00:41:51 That's why I stopped rooting for Miami. I seen that. I'm like, yo, what is this Jimmy? That is why you're here. What is this? What is he doing? Why is he passing the ball? We're in the finals.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Confidence coffee no more. What the fuck? You feel like you're going to make the world be the? Then you showed up the next season in emo. I was confused. Thoroughly confused. Sometimes playing the right way is taking over. That is playing the right way. I don't know who you think your teammates are.
Starting point is 00:42:23 They're not you. They're not capable of being you. So the fact that you are deferring your, you touching the lane to pass it to a whole bunch of people that's not you. This is not Steph out there. You're passing it to people who's not even G4 classified. Right? You are the first option, the second option, the third option.
Starting point is 00:42:46 You need G4 classification. When you don't want to do some stupid boom, he's wide open. But the fact that you drive, 90% of your drives is to pass the ball. Everyone knows that now. So I'm Jimmy. I'm Jimmy. You're talking to me like you're talking. I'm saying, but I want
Starting point is 00:43:02 to play the game the right way. I want to play the game the right way. I want to play the game the right way, Gilbert. I'm driving in and I see the open man and I pass it to him. What's wrong with that? Who's the all-NBA player? Who's the all-star, right? Who is Jimmy Buckus? Remember, I'm Jimmy. Who's the one who they claim
Starting point is 00:43:18 for the beating next Jordan? I don't care about none of that. I just want to play the game the right way. You think the right play is you got a 10-footer on someone who can't guard you, and you're going to pass it to that guy. He's wide open. Gilbert, it's the right play. How many shots did he hit?
Starting point is 00:43:33 He didn't hit none, but he's open. I trust him. I trust him. He's my teammate. I got to trust him. It's not the right play. Got to trust him. The right play is passing it to Steph Curry.
Starting point is 00:43:42 You got to be aggressive. You got to tell him to be aggressive. Right? So you're passing it to Draymond Green, and he's sitting there. That's not the right play is passing it to Steph Curry. You got to be aggressive. You got to be aggressive. Right? So you're passing it to Draymond Green, and he's sitting there. That's not the right play. That's not a good play. You're passing it to someone who's not going to shoot. What do you want me to do?
Starting point is 00:43:53 Score the buckets right there. Yeah. My teammate's open. For a reason. He was trying to play like this game didn't matter. Like, oh, man, it's Miami. I want to show people I don't care too much. That's how you're trying to play.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Too cool. Let's talk about the fallout from the Jimmy Butler trade. Heat are sixth and 17 since the trade, 10th in the East, fighting for that last playing spot. Warriors are holding down the sixth spot in the West. Jimmy got the two-year extension from the Warriors worth in the range of $110 million. Pat Riley previously said, we're not going to give Jimmy his bread.
Starting point is 00:44:25 We're going to let him prove it this season. Will Jimmy Butler get the last laugh? As in probably going further than Miami? They both could be this first-round exit. One very well cannot even. That could be a playing exit. They'd have to win two games. The last laugh and what exactly?
Starting point is 00:44:48 What is it? Go further? I mean, what is the last laugh? Better situation. Now my team is better. I got the bread. But you wanted the bread. I got the bread.
Starting point is 00:44:59 But did you get the bread that you wanted? Because you didn't get the bread that Miami was, that you was asking for Miami. You took a pay cut here. How much he was asking for? It was like a three year extension. So I think the 161 anyway. But he didn't get the money, so that's ha ha ha here.
Starting point is 00:45:20 And it doesn't. But you have a standoff with Pat Riley. We talk about heat culture. We talked about it a lot yesterday. Heat culture without Jimmy. Yeah. Tenth seed. Six and seventeen.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Whatever you want to say. Where they at now? They like seventh or eighth? Who? They wherever they be when they was with Jimmy. I just said the 10th seed. Listen. They in the 10th seed?
Starting point is 00:45:39 No. Miami Heat are in the 10th seed. No way. In the Eastern Conference. 31 to 41. No way. They were there Conference, 31 to 41. They were there every season. They were there.
Starting point is 00:45:46 I thought you were just talking. 2-8 in their last 10 games, 6-17. I try to host when I get the best I can. My bad. I thought you were being funny. Delivery information. My bad. I know SCUCLA, we got.
Starting point is 00:45:57 Where you thought they was going to be? I swear, I thought it's the East. That's why. It's still Miami. They better than the Hornets this year. No, they not. Slightly better. It's not the didn't the Hornets is no they not Better than who huh?
Starting point is 00:46:14 Right now Not I'm just cuz he he could play he played more games If mellow play all 82 years Mandate see yeah, they were okay. So for so for the last two seasons Jimmy Butler was there, they were seventh and eighth seats. Think about it. Look, Toronto. That's why I'm like Toronto. So nothing is going to change for Miami.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Oh, no, they're going to get worse. They're going to be fighting for last place. They're going to fight for the play-in. Oh, yeah. Fight for play-in. Like they had to. Like they had to before. Same shit Tim Hardaway was complaining about.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Man, Jimmy, we need to not get into playing so we can rest and be ready for the whole thing. So we've been fighting. We've been fighting for ourselves every playoff. So they still got to do the same thing. Nothing has changed. Jimmy previously said he doesn't turn it up until after the All-Star. Nothing's changed, man. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:47:03 Oh, next year's All-Star. Got it. Because it ain't this year. No, when he was with the Heat, he said he doesn't really lock in until after the All-Star. Nothing's changed, man. Wait, what? Jimmy said... Oh, next year's All-Star. Got it. Because it ain't this year's All-Star. No, when he was with the Heat, said he doesn't really lock in till after the All-Star. So he must have been talking about the following All-Star.
Starting point is 00:47:11 Tyler here was an All-Star this year, though. Again, it must not be this All-Star because he ain't turned nothing on yet. So it must be... The pilot must be out.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Just the pilot. He need to play how he played the game after the first game. He got to call Edison. Yeah. Go ahead, pay his bill. Yeah, like 25. Yeah, the first game. Remember the first game. He got to call Edison. Yeah. Go ahead, pay his bill. Yeah, like 25.
Starting point is 00:47:27 Yeah, the first game. He got to pay his bill, pay his little heating, electricity bill, get a little five-star around there. He probably got the gas. And just a producer note, no 10th seed has won both games to make the playoffs in the four years since the play-in has been in existence. It's a tense-y.
Starting point is 00:47:45 It was tense all season for a reason. Temp, yes. Like, they do got to play two games. Meanwhile, Warriors should be in the playoffs. We'll see if they go through it. What seed are they? Sixth right now, but it's very tight, Western Conference. Oh, they're very close to the playing range.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Everybody's passing on the Golden State Warriors. Players? You got the Clippers in seventh, Timberwolves in eighth right now just half game behind the world I've been taking Clippers players like Zubac and stuff and then passing on the Golden State players because I feel they're not even going to be in. They play more than anybody. I know. Should it be like a cutoff on the playing?
Starting point is 00:48:34 Because they're up by like six games and shit. Yes. Six games from first, or from seventh? Yeah. From the next to last. No, I'm talking about from seventh to tenth. Yeah, like should have been a cutoff. Why am I playing this team?
Starting point is 00:48:52 Like it just don't make, that's what I'm saying, it just really don't make sense. I'm really far, seven is really far away from ten sometimes. And you're sitting there saying we got this little for for bracket like man should be the closest teams to It's gonna be like Like one club one game back to game back y'all fight for the spot. Just on a play for the a spot Yeah, just for days, but yeah just for the a spot So early in the game TNT ran a graphic said the Warriors had the sixth highest offensive rate in the league with Steph Curry Mm-hmm dead last without Steph He said the Warriors had the sixth highest offensive rate in the league with Steph Curry,
Starting point is 00:49:26 dead last without Steph. So with the lost Dubs now seven and five without Steph this season. We were watching the game, like I said, very, very... Seven and five? Seven and five without Steph. But does a game like this show just how valuable Steph Curry is to the Warriors? Because I'm a LeBron fan and watching Steph, I just want to apologize. I didn't realize what they were giving you out there.
Starting point is 00:49:44 I'm praying for you. That word saved his fucking ass without Steph on there. It's boomerang, right? Goddamn. That shit sucks! It really shows that, um... that they rea... He really has no help. Like, I don't care what names you really have over there.
Starting point is 00:50:06 I've never seen the star player go out and whoever's number two and three don't step up. I've never seen them still trying to play like a team. We all going to kick in about 10, 12. Yeah, and then we think we're gonna win the game, right? You know, if Donovan Mitchell's out, you know Garland is performing, right? That's, if Tatum is out, Brown's taking over.
Starting point is 00:50:36 If Tatum is playing bad, Brown's taking over. Brown's out, Tatum is taking over, right? If Tatum ain't playing well, White. And, like, you know who's gonna take those shots. Here, it's like, wait, what is this? Five starters, ten points.
Starting point is 00:50:51 We had to watch that. Five for 20 from the field. Ten points. In the first half. The bench had 30. What? Yes, I did have a Jimmy Butler pickup for everybody in the chat. Like, what's so funny is if we know Poole was there,
Starting point is 00:51:10 we already know what that was going to look like. Oh, yeah, for sure. We already know that. We know what time he was going to be on. So the fact that, you know, we can sit there and watch you and then you really disappoint like the effort of trying to score like you like I don't know what you think this team was that you can just go out there and take 10 12 shots and think they were gonna win it made no sense like I mean I don't know what
Starting point is 00:51:44 y'all doing in practice to make you think that these I mean, I don't know what y'all doing in practice to make you think that these guys is like, I don't know what practice y'all running that you, you looking at them like, oh yeah, you gonna have 30 tonight. Like, you know what heroes are. And so you don't see hero inside your goddamn locker room. That's crazy. All right. Well, that's probably as low in scoring game though this year though. Who, Jamie? Yeah. No his lowest scoring game, though, this year, though. Who, Jimmy? Yeah. No. Well, besides, I'm talking about on the Warriors.
Starting point is 00:52:09 No. No. You know what's funny? 12 points ain't his lowest? Mm-mm. It's funny you say he don't got no help. You get rid of Klay, get rid of Poole, get rid of Wiggins, now this is what you're left with.
Starting point is 00:52:27 So Jimmy with the Warriors, just because you asked, he's had a five-point game, a six-point game, or a five-point game, two six-point games. This was his second 11-point game. Damn. All NBA. Played 20 games with the Warriors. All NBA. But the game before, he had 25.
Starting point is 00:52:43 But look, this is all NBA after you got paid. The game before this, he had 25. Hey, look, but look, this is all NBA after you got paid. The game before this, he had 25, though, so. He did have 25, four and eight against the Hawks. I think we were expecting something of that level. But let's keep this thing moving. Starting point is 00:54:39 Manscaped. It's an important part of the process. But let's talk about some unfortunate news in the Eastern Conference coming out of Milwaukee. Damian Lillard out indefinitely with a blood clot in his right calf. This report came down yesterday. According to Shams, Lillard is on blood-thinning medication, which has stabilized the blood clot and will continue with regular testing. Same type of injury that ended Wimby's season earlier this year. Wimby's blood clot located in his shoulder. So Dame released
Starting point is 00:55:05 the following message through Chris Haynes yesterday after the news was reported. Dame said, it's unfortunate that something outside of my control
Starting point is 00:55:12 would come up. Along with the Bucs medical staff, our priorities are to protect my health and safety. As much as I love basketball, I need to be there
Starting point is 00:55:19 for my kids and my family. I'm grateful the Bucs acted quickly on this. They've been supportive and proactive throughout this process. I look forward to moving past this and continuing my career." 58 games this season, Dame was averaging 25.7 assists, 5 rebounds. Dame and Giannis leading
Starting point is 00:55:34 the league for most games by teammates with 30 points in the same game. They had seven of those games this season. So you hear this news, what's your reaction to Dame being out indefinitely with a blood clot, could potentially miss the rest of the entire season? Just based on according to some doctors some Twitter doctors blood thinners take about three months Work to work obviously that timeline Will put him past the end of this season
Starting point is 00:56:01 I don't know it's a tough situation. Yeah How how do you know when you have blood clots? Like, what is the symptoms? Like, do you just go get a checkup? And that's scary, bro. And yeah, I wish them well, man. It's a tough situation to be in. I know they fighting for something right now. They made some good moves, I feel like,
Starting point is 00:56:29 and to have something like this happen that's not like basketball-related, it's not a sprained ankle, you know, it's something you're probably just feeling and say, I want to go get it. Beyond control. He's had some calf injuries in the past, but obviously they did an examination on him,
Starting point is 00:56:48 discovered the blood clot, got him on the blood thinning medication. What's the blood clot, man? Yeah, I mean, it's, you know, especially as you're playing well, you know, positions yourself very well in the playoffs or getting ready for the playoffs. So, you know, to have something like this to stop you from, you know, continuing your career is crazy. It is like what next?
Starting point is 00:57:19 You know, I can, you know, I know it's going through, you. It's like, damn, what's next? When can I get over the hump? And this was one of those seasons where they were both playing well. The team was stable. So to be out indefinitely, I mean, it's really about the health and the rest of his career. So hopefully Dame time can get better. Yeah. How's Wimby doing?
Starting point is 00:57:52 Anybody know? Any updates? No updates, but we do know obviously Al for the rest of the season. According to the Spurs, the timeline will get him back. They're optimistic he'll be ready to go by the start of next season. Yeah. Wow. While dealing with his blood cup, let's move go by the start of next season. Yeah. Wow. While dealing with his blood clot,
Starting point is 00:58:07 let's move over to the side of the couch. Mr. Cemetery Larry Cookie Monster, man known by many names, what's your reaction to hearing that Dame Lillard out indefinitely with a blood clot in his hand? Part of the game. Hope it get better soon. Doom for the Bucs. The Bucs stops here.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Definitely unfortunate news for the Bucs. So let's talk about Bucs. Currently fifth in the East, half game lead over the Pistons. Since winning the title 2021, Milwaukee has an advance pass to second round. Back to back first round exits. Always better, right? Previous two seasons.
Starting point is 00:58:44 So injuries have played a humongous part in that. Giannis has been very vocal in the past back-to-back first-round exits the previous two seasons. Injuries have played a humongous part in that. Giannis has been very vocal in the past about his desire to win more chips and his willingness to stay in Milwaukee if the Bucs organization is on the same page. I think when he made those comments initially, that was before they brought Dame in, looked to bring Dame to the roster,
Starting point is 00:58:59 obviously first-round exits. Championship aspirations are already in question with the Bucs underperforming so far this season by their standards and the expectations. And with Dame's sideline, hard to imagine the Bucks avoiding a similar fate than the previous two seasons. So where do the Bucks go from here? You mean where do Giannis go from here? I know you get tired, but Giannis. I know you. It's going to come to a point where he's just tired of working,
Starting point is 00:59:29 like I got to prove, I got to be loyal. He got to get tired of being a first-round exit, a second-round exit since the championship. You know, things always, something happened around this time. Somebody get hurt, he get hurt. And those things, I mean, he got hurt in that heat series. Yes. When they got him. He was hurt against the Pacers last season when they got him.
Starting point is 00:59:51 So how much does that fall on his shoulders? It's hard to get there, man. It's hard to get there. You got to, everything got to fall in line, man. People got to be healthy. That's one of the major keys to know keys of winning the championship is health really Health is well, you know, obviously you started 2025 said clean slate with Doc Rivers this buck squad no more hate Kind of open up the can a little bit yesterday with Doc's comments about
Starting point is 01:00:20 Blowing three one leaves but look atucs squad, especially the past few seasons. What do you think the future holds for this Milwaukee Bucs squad, specifically Giannis? I mean, when it comes to Giannis, I mean, he's just gonna have to make a decision as, you know, is he gonna win another championship? Yeah. Is one championship good enough?
Starting point is 01:00:41 Um... You know, he seems like a loyal person. So I don't think he's gonna like really request a trade. It's gonna be a hint of like, yo, shit ain't working out here.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Can you, you know, put me in a place where I need to be, you know, to be successful? I think everything the Bucks has tried is just haven't worked. They got a championship. I mean, you know, I'm pretty sure the owners is happy with that. But Giannis has to think about, you know,
Starting point is 01:01:20 his legacy moving forward and just collecting stats over there. Eventually, you know, they're going to start attacking your legacy just because you're not winning. Like I said, Giannis has obviously been very vocal about winning chips, had recent comments talking about the NBA Cup,
Starting point is 01:01:35 said that was better than intimacy, even though people may not take that NBA Cup championship seriously, but just to show that how much he values winning, how important it is to him. So, Shad, where do the Bucks go from here? Obviously, unfortunately, the situation with Dame. Looks like they're gonna have a tough end of the season yet again.
Starting point is 01:01:53 This will be the third straight year since winning the chip. One thing I like is the question. Reframe the question. Hm? What do the Bucks do? Yeah. All right, now to what yannis do so for the bucks i gotta i gotta move yannis because we got what we wanted which is a championship in the last 50 years so we talking about once in every 50 years we got a rare chance of trying to get this opportunity
Starting point is 01:02:21 they got it holding on to a piece piece like Giannis in a small market, detriment to him because now you're feeding him this false illusion that he has a chance to win championships when every one, every 50 years
Starting point is 01:02:33 is really your opportunity. Trying to build around him to do that is going to force headaches and clashes between Dame's expectation, Middleton's expectation, Kuzma, Lopez, all these guys have expectations.
Starting point is 01:02:48 They can't really fit because that championship happened because it was rare. They didn't have a real championship squad. So then you get rid of Drew Holiday and expect to go back there, and you lose all that momentum. So now, right now, you look at Michael Redd, you look at everybody that ever really played for the Bucks, there wasn't no superstar that you can build around, but they've done that and look what's happened. There's no results behind that championship.
Starting point is 01:03:13 You could say different. But you look at a Lew Alcindor and Oscar Robertson. They won the championship together. What happened after that? Kareem left. He left. We did what we're supposed to do. Now it's time to go where? Back to Cali. Okay. Okay. So the history of the situation is move Giannis before it's too late. Move Dane before it's too late.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Move Lopez before it's too late. Rebuild and start building a new core because you've been stuck in this old cobweb of thinking that you can go here and this is y'all thing and it's a small market thing. Both for Denver and Milwaukee. Is it crazy to imagine a world where they could go get Katie? Milwaukee? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:01 With Giannis? Yeah. And keep Dame? You'll have to give him somebody though. Is there a real, because they trying to trade KD this summer. They already said it. But is there, I'm just saying if, can that happen? KD going to Milwaukee? No.
Starting point is 01:04:21 He's a Milwaukee motherfucker now. He don't do shit but play video games. Ain't nothing. And a son. Yeah, and a son. I don't want to do that shit in the cold. But still, they both want to win. Two people that are desperately trying to win.
Starting point is 01:04:36 So they're not going to meet up in Milwaukee, though. They'll meet up somewhere else. But is it crazy, though? So Bucks don't own their 2025 pick. That's going to go to either the Pelicans or Brooklyn. I think they have pick swap
Starting point is 01:04:50 with the Pelicans 2027. Portland has a pick swap 28, 29. Or 28, 30. Man, the best thing they can do is send Giannis
Starting point is 01:04:58 to the only place that can change their franchise a little bit. OKC. I give you Giannis, give me some of those picks and some of that a little bit. OKC. I'll give you Giannis. Give me some of those picks and some of that, and come on. The only thing that's going to build the franchise
Starting point is 01:05:12 is trying to get some of them draft picks. No free agents is going to come there. Yeah, you got to force the trades. You got to force the trades to happen to bring a big player. So you got to blow up Phoenix. You got to blow up Milwaukee. You got to blow up the to happen to bring a big player. So you got to blow up Phoenix. You got to blow up Milwaukee. You got to blow up the Clippers. I was about to say, can he go to the Clippers?
Starting point is 01:05:29 And the Sixers. Can he go to the Clippers? Those four teams. Yeah, go to the Clippers. Can he go to the Clippers? Talk about the Nets. Talk about the Rockets' potential. New York and L.A.
Starting point is 01:05:39 I mean, just New York, one of those two teams. I mean, he got Nick's energy. You got to give up pieces. He got Nick's energy. What pieces are you giving up and where are you going? Brooklyn ain't got nothing. And then you got to rebuild around him. You want to insert him in something that's already there
Starting point is 01:05:57 that you can try to win with right away. That's what I said. The Clippers are New York. But if you move them to the Clippers, you're going to have to give up something. You're going to have to build something. You're going to give up the whole team for him. But then he's going to be rebuilt after that.
Starting point is 01:06:09 The owner will pay. Of course, but you're still rebuilding because you're getting rid of the pieces that are supposed to help him. I'm going to have to get rid of Kawhi. So Giannis, what, third longest tenured player in the league right now behind Steph and Draymond, who have been with the Warriors longer obviously than you. I mean, it's different. Like, sitting in a small city, you know. After winning. Yeah, I mean, it's like,
Starting point is 01:06:30 to expect to win again is like... It's time. He need it. Like, money-wise, you just don't have it. You've reached the peak. We've seen the peak of what this looks like, and there's no reason to, like, try to continue to go past this you know we can't go past this i need a splash too yeah because in certain cities you
Starting point is 01:06:50 just can't the market itself can't sustain certain amount of players that's making that type of money right you know if this was new york's team then yeah i can get rid of you know this person and bring on two more superstars and be fine. Because I can just hype my season tickets up. Let's just say Brunson in there and they switch Giannis for Cat. I was about to say that. Their motherfucking tickets are about to be out of the challenge.
Starting point is 01:07:15 I was about to say that. Because the city can do it. They can have them front rows, motherfucker, 100,000 for the year. My brother's going to buy it. That's a good trade. They're going to buy it. They're going to buy the shit. At some
Starting point is 01:07:28 point, at some point, all the greats end up in the same few cities. It's just a matter of time. You look across, man. If you look at the top ten, it is only two people, one person that's not in the big market.
Starting point is 01:07:46 That would be Tim Duncan. Everybody else done fled to the big city. That's... Damn, right? Come down late, shit. They give up off some rings for him. We get LeBron James, everyone. No, man, stop doing that.
Starting point is 01:08:00 You keep saying that, man. You can't do that. Stop, man. You got to chill, bro. Can Bronny stay? I love Kobe keep saying that, man. You can't do that. Stop, man. You got to chill, bro. Can Bronny stop? I love Kobe. Come on, man. So you don't think you're telling me the last year of Kobe's career,
Starting point is 01:08:13 they're not going to get rid of Kobe for the news? No. I guess you think business is not a real thing, huh? I guess you don't think business. I got LeBron for two more years and I got Yannis for what nine brother They could have but they loved him too much. They would never do that. Yeah Yes, how much they paid them is less they couldn't pay nobody else the Lakers and they paid Kobe is last year There was no tree. I'm saying if if Milwaukee said hey, we'll give you Yannis for LeBron right now
Starting point is 01:08:44 You don't motherfucking think they're about to have a real, real conversation about that? He's about to retire anyway? Like, it's not like he's going to sit six more years. He's about to retire? You don't think I'm going to make that jump? They can make the call. I'm not even going to tell him either. He's going to find out.
Starting point is 01:09:03 He's going to have to find that shit out on the wire. Guess why? Because he has a no-trade clause.. He's going to have to find out. I don't know why. Guess why. Because he has a no-trade clause. So you're going to have to get his permission. Yeah. You don't do people like that. You don't do your story. You won't know. You won't know. Listen, listen, Ron. I'll start Ronnie at the point. Let us get Giannis.
Starting point is 01:09:21 If you throw that out there, man. Let us get Giannis. We'll give you baby there, man. Let us get Giannis. We'll give you baby, everything he needs. Right? Keep the family. Bronny home, bro, Lakers talent. Do one for the team. So he's unable to trade at Jordan? Well, that owner was tripping.
Starting point is 01:09:34 He didn't care. He didn't give a fuck about Giannis. He said it in his face. I don't care if we win. Again, feel gone. Sure does. And if you don't like it, your ass is gone, too. When you think about power, people don't realize.
Starting point is 01:09:53 Jordan said it. Feel gone, I'm gone. He was like, oh. I guess I'll see you later, motherfucker. See you later, motherfucker. Let me go. Hey, man, we got to give his flower. He was on that Euro shit way before anybody was on it.
Starting point is 01:10:06 We saw what happened in the aftermath of that. He was like, I got that coupe coach over this motherfucker. It didn't work out, but he was on it. We saw what happened in the aftermath of that, though. And we saw him get packed up in the last dance. I ain't heard the theme song to that Jordan shit song. Very fair. So when Jordan was there, Pippen was top five.
Starting point is 01:10:32 Soon as he put on that Houston jersey, 30th. 30th. It was like, damn, Pippen, you was only this shit over here. There ain't no more triangle. Shit. Ain't no more triangle. only this shit over here. It wasn't a normal triangle Scotty over here went to the Western get off No more Scotty listen throw it and move Scotty on a whole nother level when he got over here, Scottie. Listen, throw it and move. Ain't disrespecting Scottie on a whole
Starting point is 01:11:06 another level when he got over there. So we asked the chat, we asked the chat, can the Bucks make a playoff run without Dame? 85% said no.
Starting point is 01:11:16 We also asked the chat, what is a run? Like, past the first round? I would, you know, a light jog, if you will.
Starting point is 01:11:23 All you're gonna do is run up to the stone. A ginger sprint. Where they at right now? Five? They're at five. I would, you know, a light jog, if you will. All you're going to do is run up to the stone. A ginger sprint. Where they at right now? Five? They're at five. But could, you know, Pistons are within striking distance to get them six. Five, and who's fourth?
Starting point is 01:11:34 Pacers right now. Pacers. And Knicks are third, so if they drop to sixth, they're going to end up playing. They didn't do it last year without Dame, remember? Played the Pacers last year. Oh, shit, it was. So we also asked the chat, what should the Bucs do? We gave them four options, trade Giannis, trade Dame,
Starting point is 01:11:47 completely rebuild or do nothing. 34% said completely rebuild. 27% said trade Giannis. 24% said do nothing. And 15% said trade Dame. At least they got heart. Because you can't trade a man who just had a blood clot. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:12:03 Like, damn. That's crazy. Damn. That's evil. We got sensible people. Talk about the... The blood clot. The Lakers trading LeBron for Giannis. Will that bring us to our next topic? So, Lakers and Indianapolis take on the Pacers tonight. But yesterday, LeBron made an appearance on the Pat McAfee show
Starting point is 01:12:20 with the interview running earlier today. LeBron discussed a wide range of topics, including how players from this era would stack up against other generations, offered this assessment of how players like Giannis Kyrie himself would fare if they played in the 70s. You trying to tell me Giannis wouldn't be able to play
Starting point is 01:12:35 an NBA game in the 70s? I think it's your answer. He wouldn't be able to do it. Giannis Giannis Antetokounmpo would have 250 points in a game in the 70s. 250. Is that Koozie?
Starting point is 01:12:52 When was Koozie playing? Koozie's blocking up fucking Giannis. Why does he say in the 70s? And that's no disrespect. But like, seriously. No disrespect. Kyrie Irving. They would have called him a witch. They would have called him a witch. No, no. They No disrespect. Kyrie Irving. They would have called him a witch. They would have called him a witch. No, no. They would have told
Starting point is 01:13:08 Kyrie, you know how they used to tell Lou Alcindor at the time that he couldn't dunk in high school games? They would have told Kyrie, you're not allowed to dribble anymore. That's what they would have told him. Dribbling is outrude. They would have seen that. So how tall are you? I'm 6'9". And how heavy are you?
Starting point is 01:13:24 I'm give or take in between 215 to 280, I don't know, depends on the day. Okay. Depends on if you're giving my cookies or not. Yeah, that ride was like we're tipping too close to 280. LeBron, the Beatles are becoming a heavyweight battle. So 6'9"? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's say you're too, You look very thin right now.
Starting point is 01:13:45 Yeah, yeah. I feel good. So 215. 6'9", 220. Could easily get to 260, though. I think that would play in a lot of different areas. Yeah, come on. I could play.
Starting point is 01:13:56 I would be able to play in any area. It's funny you hear some of them older guys like LeBron James couldn't play in this area. Never been fouled by Bill Ampere before. Yeah, yeah. I think I've seen like Dennis Rodman say that one time. He was like, LeBron James not skilled enough. Yeah, not big enough. He's not, nah, doesn't weigh enough.
Starting point is 01:14:15 He's not strong enough. Can't handle it. Nah, I'm like, okay. LeBron said, what, 210 to 280, depending on if he gets his cookies or not. Cookies. So he's 215 right now, then, until he gets his cookies back. Until Rashad retires LeBron, his cookies.
Starting point is 01:14:35 So LeBron also said, we just have to recognize that evolution is a part of life. Before adding, excuse me, we should respect all eras in that era in particular. So what are your thoughts on LeBron saying players like Giannis Kyrie and himself would dominate previous eras of NBA basketball? 250 points. Obviously, he was exaggerating the number. He'd probably get 100. I mean, Wilt got 100.
Starting point is 01:15:01 He'd get 100 for sure. I mean, Wilt got 100. But LeBron could get 100 too, though, I'm thinking. But Giannis could get 100, for sure. I mean, Wilt got 100. But LeBron could get 100, too, though, I'm thinking. But Giannis could get 100 playing against the 70s. Is he more athletic than Wilt? Is he more agile than Wilt? I don't know. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:13 I'm thinking about magic with bounce. I'm thinking about it. In theory, yes, but Kyrie, probably not. Because there was this thing called dribbling. So they wouldn't have said you couldn't dribble. They would have just called carry and travel. Oh, yeah. Right?
Starting point is 01:15:28 I mean, you got to think about... Your rules you know today wasn't the rules back then. That year old, just two steps outside of your body, they called travel, right? Anything you palm on the side, on the thing, you had to dribble straight like this. So for the most part, like,, yeah, obviously evolution gives everyone an advantage. But you got to actually think about the rules then.
Starting point is 01:15:54 All that picking the ball up at half court, the zero step, gather step, that shit. Yeah, they don't know what that was. You would have had 30 points, fucking 50 travels. 30 points, 50 travels Fucking 1987 1987 Dominique Wilkins literally was on fast break did this travel Just regular two steps, but it was what we called a year old, but it wasn't even a full year
Starting point is 01:16:25 It was just step to the side and they actually called a travel on the regular ass layup So as a chess point out, I would make the argument that that will Close to the athleticism of Giannis, but yeah Just 20,000 the ball he can bring the ball over the corner do all that but that was in you how do you got a dribble? They can't do that i think they're like similar right ain't they like similar will can he dribble a little bit twenty thousand things also with some chucks on yeah with trucks impressive so if you put yannis and chucks though i don't know they would have put kairi in the uh harlem gold trawlers or something. Yeah? Yeah. You know what I'm saying? The circus in town.
Starting point is 01:17:07 The circus in town. Wizard? Yeah, but, you know. Rules, rules. Rules handicap them from doing the things that they're accustomed to doing, but the athletic body,
Starting point is 01:17:17 of course, right? It's like me racing today's Ferrari versus some shit that was in the 70s. And Bron did make that comparison. I mean, that's really it.
Starting point is 01:17:26 The rules, the rules of, you know, the world, California, whatever, it was governed to a certain speed limit. So obviously those cars wasn't moving that fast. Let's move over to this side. Cookie Monster, Cemetery Larry, Rashad McKenzie. What do you think, realistically, Leonis would be able to drop if he played in the game in the 70s? We'll never know.
Starting point is 01:17:51 That's a fair answer. Why the fuck are we talking about it? Because LeBron said it. Exactly. He really meant I can score 250. And he can. He also said he would be dominant in that area. So I'm gonna use somebody else's name
Starting point is 01:18:08 so I don't look like 50,000 points ain't enough. Fair. How much you think you would've averaged back in the day? None. 1972. Drop McCantsin, 1972
Starting point is 01:18:24 right now. I would have been Goldie. You know who he is? Yes. Do you? Yes. OK, so we wouldn't have been playing no basketball. Respect.
Starting point is 01:18:36 Can you buy that? I'd have been, yeah. 45, 35, 45, 35, 45, 40. 35, right? 35? Can you buy that? No, you can't. What would you be doing instead of playing basketball
Starting point is 01:18:49 for your whole life? Getting chose. Getting chose. Getting chose. Especially in the 70s, there'd been getting chose by Afros. Getting chose by Afros. How much you think you can average, Gil? Go ahead, Tim.
Starting point is 01:19:16 Go ahead and say it, Gil. About, what, 25 in the first quarter? Tell him. What, 25? In the first quarter. Tell him. Tell him. Speak your mind, man. Let it off. The most athletic person was what, Oscar Robertson?
Starting point is 01:19:36 He averaged 34 no threes. Julius Ervin. Yeah. What was his vertical? Who, Oscar Robertson? Yeah. He wasn't a jumper, right? He wasn't that athletic That the era just wasn't it wasn't it wasn't the special for guards the guards didn't
Starting point is 01:19:55 Was really an event I was finger rolling for the food like Eisger like doing dumb she's like 70s. That's late 70s 80s. That's Iceman them We're talking about early the point guards dated wasn't it wasn't No, I'm talking about the guards. I said wasn't jumping but the mother was jumping like oh that was baby a Lee Julius I tried that shit in the game That's the heart That's too hard. It's too hard to do. All the way underneath.
Starting point is 01:20:29 I made the shot, though. I made the shot. But you didn't go all the way under, though. Gee, I did. You didn't take that all the way behind and flip it. Oscar Robertson
Starting point is 01:20:36 never dunked in an NBA game. He never dunked? Not one time. Was it by choice? It was kind of by choice. He said he got hurt trying to dunk it one time. Yeah, trying to dunk.. He said he got hurt. Trying to dunk it.
Starting point is 01:20:45 Yeah, trying to dunk. So he chose not to do it in games anymore. Yeah, so I mean, you know, it was the mid-range era. Everybody's mid-range, one, two, pull up. So it was perfection. But I mean, you know, you take these guards, you put in the Westbrooks and all these guys in there, there wasn't anything built for those type of players, right?
Starting point is 01:21:12 So it is an advantage, of course, but, you know, the rules of them still kind of handicaps the players today. I'll just say this. Just by the comment and the question and the whole conversation of trying to make it irrelevant at the 70s basketball compared to now wouldn't be able to compete. It really don't matter. The thing that matters is that, you know, Michael Jordan said it,
Starting point is 01:21:32 that he doesn't like comparing the old guys to the new guys and himself to other people he never got to play against. So he not gonna say who could do what. I think Kobe said the same thing when he's compared to Mike. He said, man, listen, I don't like to have that conversation because these are my teachers, these are my guys, that I don't want to be the guy thing when he's compared to Mike. He said, man, listen, I don't like to have that conversation because these are my teachers.
Starting point is 01:21:45 These are my guys that I don't want to be the guy to say I'm better than them. I'm just going to stop it there. And Will said he'll give this era 70 points a game is what he told Michael. Yeah. Right? Yeah. I mean, we can say that, but that's what they used to argue about in the 80s. Wilt was complaining, or he was saying, him and Michael talking about, oh, I'm the best.
Starting point is 01:22:09 Man, I would get, like, the rules that I had then, y'all, this is easy for y'all. Give me y'all rules, I'm averaging 70 against you guys. These are private conversations, though. Everybody feels some type of way privately because we are competitors privately. When you start saying this is how it is publicly now, everybody thinks that the 70s is irrelevant. They're plumbers and shit. That shit weird. Because you know what I'm saying? They had game. Of course they wouldn't want to be game. But all you hear is-
Starting point is 01:22:39 I'm about to say respect that generation. Of course it's different if we were to go back. All you see is old motherfuckers talking about how soft. Yeah, but... Because they fall. They literally fall. So they're saying in the 70s, look, in the 70s. So they can't fight back?
Starting point is 01:22:54 That's what I'm saying. In the 70s, right, John is coming down. Somebody just... He's strong enough. He's strong enough. Out! First of all, the pro team back then, come on, man. They only weighed a 210.
Starting point is 01:23:06 I'm just saying, if we want to fight them just because we don't like them, we're going to fight them after the game. He's going to have to deal with that and fight us every game. That's cool. The 70s wasn't no rules for. But the 70s was white. But they still fouling like crazy. Bill Walton and the Portland Trail Blazers, they was goonies.
Starting point is 01:23:28 It was goonies. They goonies. It was African-American. No, I'm not saying that. I told y'all the story about my dad's first game with the Bucks in 77 when Kareem fucking one-pieced Ken Benson. So you're saying Yannis wouldn't one-piece him, right? I'm just saying, I'm not saying he not one-piece.
Starting point is 01:23:41 I'm just saying it's going to be a lot more of fouling you intentionally and all of the other shit. Y'all just played in Africa. He's from Greece. He didn't play in Africa. They played with no shoes on. He was digging his feet. He was Greco-Nigerian. He's Nigerian.
Starting point is 01:23:58 Come on, man. Greece. That's the same place. Man, he built his own court out the backyard. With his feet. Yeah, it was out there. Him and the Nassus, they used to share a pair of shoes though, but Greco-Nigerian. Think about that, the Nassus.
Starting point is 01:24:11 Let me wear those now. It's my turn. He took off his, so while he was playing with shoes on, the Nassus had his shoes off, so then they switched, then he started playing with no shoes, and the Nassus playing with the shoes on concrete and dirt. Yeah. The sticks and the cow maneuver, all that shit. Dribbling the ball going between the legs on dirt.
Starting point is 01:24:34 You think he ain't going to fly on it? I mean, that wasn't the era of the plumbers, right? That's the 60s, right? No plumbers. Everybody was in their era, I feel. Cap, man, we know they had second jobs come on man it was five thousand dollars a year to play in the league back then who don't want to sell some dope i'm just saying like come on we know they had second jobs so some of them were milkmen some
Starting point is 01:24:55 of them was that was their actual real job the basketball like that's why when people argue that it's like no that's actually real like the basketball wasn't their real job, right? That was the after we got off a work job, right? You know, some of us was milkmen, some of us, we worked for big companies. What does that job have to do with being able to hoop? I'm not getting paid enough. I got to go work. No, of course.
Starting point is 01:25:21 I still can hoop. Yeah, yeah, you can hoop for them, but don't pretend that you can bust my ass and I get to play basketball. No, no, I'm not pretending. Y'all pretending that because I'm a plumber in my spare time that you can go. No, in your real time, you're a basketball player in your spare time. OK, even that.
Starting point is 01:25:33 Even that. You can get on TV and say, you're just with a bunch of plumbers. Yeah, my nigga, I needed to pay extra bills. I wasn't getting paid like you. You. Nothing wrong with being a plumber. But I'll bust your bills. I wasn't getting paid like you. You. You. But I'll bust your ass, though.
Starting point is 01:25:47 No, just like... I'll bust your ass, though, Mr. Lakers head coach. No, but that's a false narrative. We know that. I'm talking about me. I mean, in real life, we do it right now. Like, anybody who go to the 24-hour fitness after work, yeah, uh-huh, man, get this work. What you talking about?
Starting point is 01:26:03 You just got off a nine-hour shift, bruh. Stop. You can't even do that like that. Yeah, you got a little skill, but this work. What you talking about? You just got off a nine-hour shift, bro. Stop. You can't even do that like that. Yeah, you got a little skill, but, you know, you at work all day. Hey, man. At the end of the day, we all plumbers and hoops at the same time. Okay? You a plumber, right?
Starting point is 01:26:16 You lay that. Come on, man. Listen. That's what I guess. All right, then. I'm a plumber. You's a plumber. I don't know about the other motherfuckers.
Starting point is 01:26:26 Y'all only know about each other. Y'all, you only know about him being a plumber and you being a plumber, huh? There's a lot of weird shit going on when I try to tell you. You did walk in right at me. You niggas know about plumbing, huh? I was shaking your hand because you thought
Starting point is 01:26:39 I was sick because I cut white for myself. I'm plumbing. Thank you. I know. You really been doing some work. No, no. You like the thing. Thank you. That's what I'm saying. I know. Really been doing some work. No, no. You like the thing. Who cleaning who pipes over there?
Starting point is 01:26:49 You got the pipes, you know? So let's keep it moving. As some have pointed out, Pat McAfee, arguably Stephen A. Smith's biggest op at ESPN. So LeBron's decision to pull up to the show may have been some not-so-subtle trolling. Stephen A. acknowledged that on first take today, saying, LeBron probably harmed somebody if they even approached him about coming on with me. So McAfee asked LeBron about the Stephen A. Smith situation during his appearance. Here's what LeBron had to say.
Starting point is 01:27:15 That feels like a moment that had been brewing for a long time. He's like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we're watching. We're all seeing it. Oh, yeah. You're seeing it as well. No, he literally started off with, yeah. Yeah, we're watching. Yeah, we're awesome. Oh, yeah, you're seeing it as well It's not as you know, he literally it started off with I
Starting point is 01:27:28 Didn't want to address it. Yeah, sure. I didn't I didn't want to address it. I wasn't going to address it Since the video came out. I feel the need to address it Are you kidding me? If there's one person that couldn't wait to the video and drop so you could address it, it's your ass. Like, seriously. And like another, he completely like missed the whole point. The whole point. Never would I ever not allow people to talk about the sport, criticize players about what they do on the court.
Starting point is 01:28:07 That is your job to criticize or to be in a position where, okay, if a guy's not performing, that is all part of the game. That's all part of the game. But when you take it and you get personal with it, it's my job to not only protect my damn household, but protect the players. And I think a lot of the media, including him, and I know he's going to be happy as hell.
Starting point is 01:28:36 He's going to be smiling from ear to ear when he hears me talking about it. Oh, my God. He's going to get home and grab some ice cream out of the fucking freezer and sit in his chair in his tighty whiteys on the couch. I hope at some point you two do get a chance to get out. Yeah, like, dude, like, relax, bro. Like, relax. Very descriptive. Tighty whitey ice cream. Give it up for Brian! Come on, man, cheer him in, Brian! I don't know why he trying to talk about my new boss like that. Give it up for LeBron. Come on, man. Cheer him. LeBron. You heard him?
Starting point is 01:29:08 I don't know why he's trying to talk about my new boss like that. That's where I was going. It's all I'm saying. All this shit, bro. Disrespect. So LeBron's saying that. My man don't wear tighty-whities. He probably got on boxers.
Starting point is 01:29:19 Hopefully they're me undies. Them too. A very, very quality underwear brand for all those in need. You know what I mean? Probably got on some Adidas. You know what I mean? Probably got on some Adidas. You know what I mean? Crazy light shorts. Crazy.
Starting point is 01:29:29 Shout out to Adidas as well. Crazy light shorts. Very comfortable. You know what I mean? Drinking some cognac. Maybe some Huel, even. Like a boss. And I thought he was Little Steve. Mando, spraying his body down.
Starting point is 01:29:40 And I thought that was Little Steve. And manscaping, in the process, was manscaping. Wait, wait. I'm kind of confused. Which one is Little Steve here? Is you Little Steve. And manscaping, in the process, was manscaping. So, wait, I'm kind of confused. Which one is Little Steve here? Is you Little Steve? Steve and A. No, I'm an employee.
Starting point is 01:29:52 First of all, it was clutch. My check just cashed. It was clutch. Huh? It was clutch. We was. We still is. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:30:01 Hell no. You can't. No take backs. No, I got two checks. I get two checks. Right? I get two checks. Brother, no, no. Hell no. You can't. No take backs. No, I got two checks. I get two checks. Right? I get two checks. Brother, let little Steve talk. I'm not little Steve. Brother, I get two checks.
Starting point is 01:30:11 I'm just saying, you know? First, I just want to talk about LeBron saying that Stephen A. Smith was on a Taylor Swift-like tour. That first tour stop, one of my favorite shows, Gills Arena, presented by underdog Woo Woo. You went to it? He was a good man to say that out loud. We were here when he came.
Starting point is 01:30:26 That was the first stop of his Taylor-like tour. You know what? I thought you said you went to the tour. I thought you said you went to see Taylor Swift. No, I'm not. Yeah, I remember when he came, boy. It was like. I missed it.
Starting point is 01:30:39 What? What the fuck? I can't say nothing right now. Just think about what you're saying. I remember when he came through. That's what I'm saying. No, you didn't. You said something else, and then your head went,
Starting point is 01:30:52 man, I remember. We had PF tracks that day. I did not like the way you did it. I didn't like it. Because I don't want to try to look and try to visualize what you were remembering. I'm just saying, no, it was a big day. It was like everybody was on the couch, you know.
Starting point is 01:31:06 It was very Django Unchained in here. It was so cool. It was like the master came. Everybody was on their P's and Q's when Stephen A. came. It was like, yes, sir, Mr. Sala. You too. No, hell no. You would sit next to him.
Starting point is 01:31:23 You better protect Steve. You better protect him, both of you. I did. I had bodyguards right around here. You do sound like, in the big house. I had bodyguards. And you warned him. You warned him.
Starting point is 01:31:34 Nick, you sat there and you said security. I had bodyguards right behind me. He was in a mask on. Security. Security. See, see, I said that because I thought the mask was coming. I thought the mask was coming. You thought.
Starting point is 01:31:44 You thought wrong. So you were trying to be Steven thought the masses coming out you thought wrong Do you want to be leaving for your boss? You know y'all was like in the big house You want them in the big house unless you want to burn the sheets the bed and all that. That was y'all. I'm gonna Hey, I don't know what you Love that LeBron It's talking like this. This is great. This is what we need. It seems extremely strategic. I love it.
Starting point is 01:32:08 Me too. I love it. It's good for everybody. We definitely win the championship. I saw a filter interview. We winning the championship. We winning the championship, man.
Starting point is 01:32:17 I'm trying to tell you this man, the energy. Man, talking like that, the energy is like, what, what? You give a fuck now. What's up, man?
Starting point is 01:32:23 You see Lil' Bronny? What? He ain't give a fuck now. What's up, man? You see Lil' Bronny? What? He ain't been talking shit now. At first, he used to be like, yeah, just that. Now he in motherfucking spaces. What? He's in my daddy's dicks. What?
Starting point is 01:32:35 He's in my daddy's dicks. He like, squawk, who love? Yeah. Yeah, what? James is on the loose. Hey, Lil' Steve, what's up? Them James is on the loose. Hey, little Steve, what's up? Them James is on the loose. Little Steve Mayne.
Starting point is 01:32:49 What you got to say? What I got to say? Yeah, come on, little. Come on. Mm. Sean, please don't eat another one of the Bones cookies. You made your point. Over-exaggerated jar club. Say what?
Starting point is 01:33:11 You exaggerated the jar club. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to him. Oh. Oh, OK. He said he feels sorry for Shannon Sharpe. And what does Shannon Sharpe have to do with this? You know Shannon Sharpe really liked LeBron.
Starting point is 01:33:26 Shannon Sharpe is a LeBron fan. And LeBron went to Pat McAvee and didn't go to Shea Shea. Did not pull up to the club, Shea? Yeah. Everybody would be going hard, glazing for LeBron. Then he don't come, had a conversation with you. That's weird. He didn't want to come into that environment.
Starting point is 01:33:42 No, he didn't want to. He wanted a safe environment. He already told them what it is. What? Got to be safe. Well, nah. You know, I'm just saying, you know. What'd you say?
Starting point is 01:33:54 How long Big Stephen ain't going to keep talking about it, and your boss going to keep talking about this LeBron shit, you know? Just please tell me. Wait a minute. LeBron is up there talking about LeBron? Because he had to. No, he didn't. What he say?
Starting point is 01:34:07 He went on a Taylor Swift tour. And it started here at Django Unchained with y'all. It was 2.0. Django Unchained, two niggas on the net. Just, yeah, boss, yeah. Yeah, Mr. Charlie. Yeah, yeah, yeah, boy. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:24 Yeah. Just, just, just. No, I ain't that too much. Fuck it. Oh, boss. Yeah. Yeah, Mr. Charlie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just, just, just. No, I ain't that too, motherfucker. Hey, Yardboy. Hey, Yardboy. Hey, Yardboy, come over here and chill. Hey, what was you at? You was in the field. You was in the field.
Starting point is 01:34:38 You was in the field. I've been in the house. Hey, Yardboy. Hey, Yardboy. I'm over here like, where the hell y'all think y'all going? Yeah, where do you over here like, where the hell y'all think y'all going? Yeah, where we think we going? Where the hell y'all think y'all going? We going to the hot bowl.
Starting point is 01:34:50 You ain't invited, man. You got to dress the pot. I'll give you a cookie. You might be able to. So it might be a good idea to shoot. Reminder, you were here on the first stop of the Taylor Street. I was like, you know, like, a license. You were very the part of.
Starting point is 01:35:04 I mean, I was Eddie Murphy, you know, when they was... Let him get the orange chicken first. He ain't got no license. I was that. Yeah, I was Martin. I was Martin. I know when you got to play.
Starting point is 01:35:14 Why you got to be so nasty? Nah, but I like it. I think it's dope. I think it's dope. You know? Your cooking's still good, too. Do that? I think they're still good, too? Do that? I think that's what makes LeBron, like, great.
Starting point is 01:35:30 You know, he connects. He connects more than Jordan and Kobe. He connects. I agree. He connects. Jordan don't talk. Kobe can't talk. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:42 Here we go. Jordan and Kobe is more stern. It's mama mentality. I don't fucking joke. Man, that is crazy how you just phrased that. It's the fact he has to step into the role. He has to step into the role. And it would make something go. You already, you know, 50,000 is too much.
Starting point is 01:35:57 They're not gonna get that, but now you gotta be the voice, like he said, protect the players, protect my son, solidify the legacy, get rid of the other number 23, and try to get your cookies back. That's dope. Try to get the cookies. He also did talk about his relationship with Kobe and MJ, saying him and Kobe didn't really
Starting point is 01:36:17 have a relationship until they went to the Olympics with that redeem team squad. Him and MJ don't really have a relationship, but they'll probably talk more after the game is, after LeBron finishes playing. That makes sense. No, it don't really have a relationship, but they'll probably talk more after the game after LeBron finishes playing. That makes sense. No, it don't. Yeah, it do. It makes sense, like, you know, when you're talking about Kobe, his idol was like he was the next Jordan,
Starting point is 01:36:39 so he's the one that reached out to Jordan, to bug Jordan to get the information. I want all of his tapes from year one. I want all of his tapes for year two. What did you do year three? He was a machine like that, trying to be that. LeBron knew when he came in, he couldn't be that. He had to be his own man.
Starting point is 01:37:03 So trying to reach out for the help made him look weak in a sense, even though it didn't make Kobe look weak. So it didn't make Kobe look weak because he wasn't considered the next Michael when he was getting drafted. He got that title after people start seeing the resume, like, oh, shit, who the fuck is this? He looked like, and then it was easier for him. When you're coming in as the next Magic with Jordan-like, you know, what's-her-name, you basically gotta move on your own because you start asking for help,
Starting point is 01:37:36 you're like, oh, yeah, you ain't got it. Why does that make you look weak, though, if you're asking somebody, especially somebody like MJ? How do I navigate? Man, you know how basketball is, man. They try to figure in any way to discredit, you know, greatness. That's what came into this field, right? It's if we're stars, I come to your city, right,
Starting point is 01:38:07 to help win a championship, my legacy is ruined. The person who stayed there, their legacy is fine, even though I came there to help you. Did that happen with LeBron going to Miami? Just period. That's how we see it.
Starting point is 01:38:20 Like, only one person's legacy gets ruined, even though two people benefited from it right so the person that told me to come there i help you get a championship your championships is fine my legacy is ruined because i came to you and i didn't stay at home like it's just weird it's it's i mean i think we saw it with katie obviously going to wars winning two championships two finals mvps okay so it just, it's it's an advantage for big cities, right? Like if you're in Los Angeles obviously you're going to get the cream of the crop
Starting point is 01:38:50 because you don't have to move. This is the godfather of basketball. So everything is trying to get to here. So I don't have to leave here. You're going to come. These players are going to come here. So, you. So the fact that a player can come here and his legacy
Starting point is 01:39:09 is ruined and the person who's getting on the phone call calling these people, nothing happens, is just a weird, weird idea. I just don't like the idea of that. It's like. Hey, man. You have to consult with counsel, which means to talk to the elders, which means to go back and learn from the past.
Starting point is 01:39:32 And if you are unwilling to do that based on, you know, you're trying to beat somebody or pass somebody, that's the passing of the torch thing. When you ask and you want to be a student of the game and a sponge of the game, you go to that person, you think their game is fire and hot and you around, hey man, how you do that move right there? I was fortunate enough to talk to Michael Jordan and he showed me some shit. Very fortunate.
Starting point is 01:39:59 But I know that if you ask him and he look at you and he like, you can use it, he'll show you. He'll tell you. And competitively kick your ass while doing it. Did he show up to any pickup games at UNC during your time there? He showed up. Shit, I went to the Jordan camp and played against him. Santa Barbara? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:15 Okay. So that was where, in the middle of downtime, and oh, you don't know how to do that fadeaway. That ain't how you do it. Show me how you think you do it. That ain't it. Let me show you. Wow. Oh, that's the difference? Yeah, that's the difference. Between this
Starting point is 01:40:30 and this. Fuck Jordan. You know what I'm saying? Swaggy, you said fuck Jordan. Did you have a different experience to shout at at this camp? Yeah, he didn't give me my money for that goddamn camp. You were never paid? You didn't get an autograph? Did you get an autograph? Yeah, I got my autograph. You ain't sell the autograph? Oh, you's autograph? Yeah, I got my autograph. You ain't sell the autograph?
Starting point is 01:40:45 Oh, you's a dumb boy. What you doing? That was the whole point of not getting paid. That's why you don't get paid, brother. He signed that $2,500. No, it's both. No, bro. You get $2,000 guaranteed from outside.
Starting point is 01:40:57 You get one of the little Asian dudes. Yeah, the Asian dudes are literally right there, nigga. No. That was the richest I've ever been. I tried to get two tickets. I tried to get the last one. You know what I mean? I'm like, hey, Michael Jordan, bitch.
Starting point is 01:41:10 Hey, Mr. Michael Jordan, right? I got like five autographs. Yeah. You didn't realize that I got a lot of autographs by Michael Jordan? Goddamn it. I was in there. It was a check, too. I was in there.
Starting point is 01:41:20 I don't know what kind of check you got. I was to get paid for that camp. $500. Camp counselor, $500. You got $200 you was trying to get for it? $500. In college, that was a there. I don't know what kind of check you got. I was supposed to get paid for that camp. Camp counselor, $500. You got $200 you was trying to get for it? $500. In college, that was a lot. Woo!
Starting point is 01:41:30 Boy, I got it. The Pell Grant is $2,500, man. Oh, shout out to the Pell Grant. How much did Jordan autograph cost you? I didn't get Pell Grant. Brother, that uniform right there, $50,000. He paid me more than he could. So, Swaggy, do you remember what year this was
Starting point is 01:41:45 when Mike stiffed you on your bread? Oh, man, I was trying to cash a check. This shit said void or something. Yeah, yeah. Jordan gave you a void check? Yeah. When did you go in there? 2001.
Starting point is 01:41:55 It was 2000. Yeah, he was retired. It was 2005 or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was done. Yeah, he was done. So, with interest, how much do you feel like MJ owes you right now? Shit, it was $500, so that was fucking $20,000.
Starting point is 01:42:10 He probably owed me about $30,000. $30,000. You can look at the camera and ask him to get your money. It kind of the pain of suffering because I was in the bank with the check, and it was, this don't work. What number interest did you just add to that? Hood tax. From $500 to...
Starting point is 01:42:24 I'm just saying, over time, that shit, it just hurt me. And to this day, that's why I'm like, fuck Hector. Fuck Hector. I'm like, fuck Hector. He gonna take all of our money because the lamp broke. The lamp broke inside the house. So you didn't tell the whole story, Swaggy, so you broke the lamp. I didn't break the lamp, but he accused everybody.
Starting point is 01:42:37 He broke some shit. So he took everybody's money because the lamp broke inside the house. So you didn't tell the whole story, Swaggy, so you broke the lamp. I didn't break the lamp, but he accused everybody. He broke some shit. So he took everybody's money because the lamp broke inside the house. So you didn't tell the whole story, Swaggy, so you broke the lamp. I didn't break the lamp, but he accused everybody. He broke some shit. So he took everybody's money because the lamp broke inside the house. So you didn't tell the whole story, Swaggy, so you broke the lamp. I didn't break the lamp, but he accused everybody.
Starting point is 01:42:46 He broke some shit. So he took everybody's money, because the lipstick called me a goddamn buster. It don't matter if y'all don't snitch. Everybody get pinched. Damn, Nick. Now you mad at Mike, because you fucked up. You didn't tell the whole story, Swaggy.
Starting point is 01:42:59 I didn't know you broke the lamp. I didn't break the lamp. There was a lot of us in there. You know, the lamp broke. You broke the lamp. Just say that. I came in talking about it. No, no, I didn't break it. But I ain't break the lamp. There was a lot of us in there. You know, the lamp broke. You broke the lamp. Just say that. I came in talking about it. No, no, I didn't break it.
Starting point is 01:43:08 But I ain't no snitch. So he was like, since nobody want to say that. Hey, man, what do you mean you ain't no snitch? I know you. Who didn't? Who didn't? Because I'd have told on that nigga right then and there. I was scared, too.
Starting point is 01:43:22 I thought I was going to mess up, you know, the draft stock and shit. Who broke the lamp? I wasn't going to snitch, so it made me look good. Who broke the lamp now? Statue of limitation. What you talking about? Who was that nigga? Hassam?
Starting point is 01:43:36 Was it Hassan? Hassan? Hassan. Hassan, brother. I told you. I told you I can get him to snitch on anybody. I ain't got to put no pressure on him. He wants to snitch always.
Starting point is 01:43:48 You just got to ask different questions. You got to know how to talk to him. Yes, talk to him different. No threatening. I ain't hit no with no jail time. Calm down. Calm down. Just go do it.
Starting point is 01:43:59 Talk soft to me. Jordan, you know where to go now. Shout out hot sauce. I wish I was like Willa Brown. Protect the player. I protect you, Jordan, you know where to go now. Shout out hot sauce. I wish y'all was like LeBron. Protect the player. I protect you, baby, all the time. We're going to get you your 500. You done got me in my ass.
Starting point is 01:44:11 But you're going to have 500. You say you got to check in. You're going to get your 500 with interest, brother. With interest. With interest. So last question on the couch on this LeBron-Pat McAfee situation. Like I mentioned, McAfee, probably Stephen A. Smith's biggest op at ESPN, biggest competition. Do you respect Brown's pettiness for doing an interview with Stephen A.'s biggest competition at ESPN?
Starting point is 01:44:32 Hell yeah. I mean, shit, he traded friendships with Drake to Kendrick. So it would be, I mean, LeBron don't care who he go to, so why would Pat? A minor. No, no, no.? A-minor. You can switch. Wait, what? Who's that? Wait, they beefing?
Starting point is 01:44:48 Not beefing, but they're competitors at ESPN. We can switch up. Go to the op. Go to the op. Signed a big deal when he came through. Stephen A just signed that five-year, $100 million deal. So why the ops? Well, how much do you have?
Starting point is 01:44:59 Aren't they on the same team? Like, it's ESPN. No, they compete. McAfee moves a little different. Yeah. I know, but it's the same team wouldn't with name network bargaining them be tops but it'd be like if you were on the same squad unless they were swagging he was trying to take your your shoes and take your house in your work your place when you did that so I did that with it now you're on the same
Starting point is 01:45:18 thing your champion agreed oh he fired me on the big three after I hired him. You left your own damn chance. I literally said, hey, listen, I'm not going to be here today. You the coach. For five weeks in a row. You the coach. You the coach. For five weeks straight. You the coach. Don't put yourself in. Just maybe two, three minutes. Right? You know?
Starting point is 01:45:40 Do your thing. You know how you win. They would go to the airport and be like, you know what? I don't feel right today That's a grand in hit, right? I get to the airport man. I'm like 10 grand Let's keep it a needle like you was opposed to man or don't way down kids turning older man. I don't need this Need all 10 grand not the mate this year didn't bump down about 400
Starting point is 01:46:19 Let's keep this thing moving Nick's been trying to hold down the fort, but he did he did but I was cool with him So, you know, I mean see my heart so you know for you been trying to hold down the fort. But he did. He did. But I was cool with him. So, you know what I mean? You're trying to create people. No, no. I know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. My boss said they're not enemies. Okay. They're frenemies. And he couldn't do Shannon Sharp because, you know, he didn't want that show to get more famous. I'm just saying, that's a big...
Starting point is 01:46:39 He's one of the... Yeah, but they're working together. We didn't want to do that. See? LeBron respects that. He didn't want to do that. See? LeBron respects that. He didn't want to break up the friendship. That's why he didn't come over here. That's why he didn't come over here. He know I'm trying to get a new job
Starting point is 01:46:55 so I can spin the narrative a little different. That is why. I got to wait until I get to the big house. He didn't feel like checking you. I told him, you know, we're going to go to the next house. Why he won't check me for? What I told him, I was like, you know, we're done with Golden. I ain't want to check me for. Mm-mm. What did I do? I was like, little Steve is little Steve.
Starting point is 01:47:09 Why you won't check me for? You in the weight room. You might need a couple more rounds. Why you won't check me for? It's because you said you little Steve. So he going at everybody. He like, you know, you like, it's like Steve and they going at Bronny.
Starting point is 01:47:23 You got Price on my head? It's like Steve and they going at Bronny. You got Price on my head? It's like Stephen A. going to have brownie. You got a price on my head? It's the same, yeah. I got a price on my head. Yeah, watch your back. It's the same. Watch your goddamn back.
Starting point is 01:47:30 Even in the shower? Even at picnics? Picnic? In the evening? I got a price on my head, but it's a risk to collect it. That is fair. That is a bar. Please say your prayers before you leave the house.
Starting point is 01:47:44 And you come embark on this journey that you will never return from. Okay? He said it. You send that to your boss and your hero. You tell him, this is Sparta. A great film. Yeah, this is Sparta. But remember, part two was ass.
Starting point is 01:48:00 So if you're going to be part two, the ass. No, it's part one. The speaker was always ass. Do you want to be the nigga that's getting kicked in the well or not? No, Spider-Man 2 was nice. There's about 30 Spider-Mans.
Starting point is 01:48:12 No, the two was the best one. What are you talking about? Spider-Man 2. This last one was the best one. I don't even know the last one. Spider-Man 2, Toby. No, this one
Starting point is 01:48:20 where all the Spider-Mans came together was like the best one. Man, the motherfuckers flying across. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Doing shit, all that shit. It's just together, was like the best. Man, the motherfucker flying across. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:48:26 Doing shit. All that shit. It's just two. It's just two. The other one with the black kid? The cartoon? I ain't see that one. That one good.
Starting point is 01:48:34 But that Spider-Man got like a lot of them. It's multi-burst, but it was only two Spartans. The second one was ass. The first one is good. Dude, like the thing, like the one on the ocean? See, I don't remember. I don't remember. Yeah, I don't remember either.
Starting point is 01:48:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, if you part two, he's bad. Let's keep this moving. Shaw, we're going to talk about your favorite team now. I'm going to talk about the team that's going to be on the show. I'm going to talk about the team that's going to be on the ocean? See, I don't remember. I don't remember. Yeah, I don't remember either. If you're part two, he's back. Let's keep this moving. Sha, we're going to talk about your favorite team now. Knicks have been trying to hold down the fort while they wait for the return of Jalen Brunson.
Starting point is 01:48:53 Tuesday, Cat and Josh Hart messed around and made some history. Let's take a look at the highlights. Cat and Josh Hart, taking on the injury-depleted Mav, became the first Knicks duo to drop a triple-double in the same game. Cat finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, while Hart had 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 dimes. It was Cat's first triple-double with the Knicks in the third of his career.
Starting point is 01:49:17 Boom. OG Ananobi led the Knicks with 35 points and 5 rebounds, going 15 for 24 from the field, 3 for 6 from deep. As I mentioned, Mavs dealing with injury issues, a limited roster, only had nine players available for the game. Najee Marshall took advantage, dropping a career high 38 points in 38 minutes.
Starting point is 01:49:34 Marshall's 38 points surpassed his previous high of 34 he set earlier this month. AD didn't play? AD did not play. I thought he wanted to play. He out again. He came back. That's bullshit, man. Why him do that?
Starting point is 01:49:52 Like, why him? He trying to help his squad. They don't got enough players. So you're not gonna play back to back. It was like... Yeah, it was like, because you playing against... Mm. But Knicks are 5-3 in their last eight games, still holding down the third spot in the East on pace You playing against Kat? I'm not. Yeah. There's the triple-double from Carson.
Starting point is 01:50:05 But Knicks are 5-3 in their last eight games, still holding down the third spot in the East, on pace to surpass their 50 wins from last season. So Cemetery Larry, Championship Charles, also the Cookie Monster, how much faith do you have in the Knicks squad to make a deep playoff run with the healthy Jalen Brunson? Supposed to come back end of March, early April. Where are we right now?
Starting point is 01:50:27 Third in the East right now. Third in the East. We've been able to maintain third in the East while he's down. I think we're in a great position. I think the adjustments that we've made offensively to implement cuts into picking roles and dribble handoffs give a lot of different options for Cat to pass and have isos. I think with OG being able to play as well as he is, taking the rounds of second to Cat. And Cat knowing that he can just let him go whenever, that opens it up for Bridges to
Starting point is 01:50:57 be who he needs to be within the new style of offense. But I think the adjustment's going to be when Brunson comes back, are they going to still play the same way? Or are they going to go back to the two-man game between them two and have Josh Hart kind of wait to play like this? Because he doesn't play like this a lot when Brunson's on the floor. He gets a lot of rebounds with triple doubles. It's because he has the ball in his hands.
Starting point is 01:51:20 So I want to see what that looks like when Brunson gets back. But to be in third New York New York New York New York New York That third spot is like the fault, you know being third in the eases You really like 10 games still behind first and second, so it Me don't matter to you like Like, you see the drop. Seven and a half games behind the Celtics for second.
Starting point is 01:51:47 Seven and a half games. Four and a half games behind the Cavs for the first and the East. I was over, like... I was right there, you know. But three games ahead of the Pacers.
Starting point is 01:51:54 Are you speaking from experience? No, I'm just talking about it's the East. Oh. You know. Because your team is where? What? Do you want to wear?
Starting point is 01:52:03 The Lakers? What the... Yeah, what's that? No, we're part four. But we like, well, game on. Lower than us. Like I said, you know, it's a big drop. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:52:14 You don't be preparing much when you try to go head up, do you? You just show up and be like, yay! No! Yay! Yay! Mom, I'm here! Did the... But the ride back home is so sad.
Starting point is 01:52:28 Baby, why you didn't put up no fight? I didn't know he was gonna punch that hard. I didn't know he was hitting me like that. It wasn't three people. He was hitting me with combinations after combinations. I hit him about like four times. Like about four bitches down. You didn't do shit when the fat bitch jumped on me. Shit.
Starting point is 01:52:47 I was trying to help you, nigga. I got to live here. I got to live here. My roof. That's my roof. Look, I'm trying to keep my roof clean. He keep fucking with me. I forgot what I was about to say.
Starting point is 01:53:02 Go ahead, man. He keep fucking with me. Baby, you can't fight. Shit. Baby, you can't fight. It was two of them. Back to my full bitches, huh? Good, you have faith in this Knicks roster,
Starting point is 01:53:20 the healthy Jalen Brunson. I do not care about your best ball, Dre. Oh, no, I'm sorry. No, all I've seen was, you know, the new evaluation for underdogs. I have seen that as well. That $1.2 billion, you know, and they got us. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 01:53:45 Man. Time for it did. Man. Time for some negotiations. Huh? Shout out to Underdog, starting their Series C funding. Man, I already see all the shit that I can get. I've been on eBay ever since,
Starting point is 01:54:00 man. Motherfucking nice little TV. Yeah, nice little call. But you can't tell me shit. What did you say about theucking nice little TV. Yeah, nice little car. But you can't tell me shit. What did you say about the Knicks? Congratulations. Yeah, I'm positive. I'm happy right now. Yeah, the Knicks is going to be doing good, man.
Starting point is 01:54:15 Hey, Spike, we can sit next to you now. Well, you can't get out. No, no, no, new evaluation, $1.5, $1.2 billion. That's a lot. $1.2 billion. Hey, $1.2, $2.5. That's facing Morgan. Just to be, just to be, say it again. $1.2, evaluation 1.5 1.2 billion Say Morgan just to be just to be say 1.2 to 5 day we not be watching we yeah I'm glad my summer. I'm glad my contract up
Starting point is 01:54:39 Did end as soon as I seen 1.2 to 2 5 We gonna get you one knock my flat Yeah. Well. Woo! Hey, can I borrow one of your cars? We're going to get you one. No, come on. I got a flat, too. You got an Uber. You got an Uber. You're not driving the Maybach. Don't take it, man.
Starting point is 01:54:53 It don't matter. I ain't going to lie to you. The Uber can't get past the gate. I got to walk all the way to the front. Hey, man, so look. I believe in the Knicks, man. You believe in them? Yeah. This is a new and improved, look, I believe in the Knicks, man. You believe in them? This is a new and improved, Gil. I believe in the Knicks. The valuation, just touched down.
Starting point is 01:55:11 I believe. Who do you play first? They would play currently the Pistons in the sixth spot, but the Pistons may jump and may end up being the Bucs, just depending on how they look. Ooh, that's what we want. You want the Bucks? Yes. I want the Knicks. I want the Knicks. I want the Knicks pistons. That just looks like some angry shit going on. Knicks ain't angry.
Starting point is 01:55:37 Knicks ain't angry. No, the crowd. That's all you hear, just a bunch of black boot wearing motherfuckers on both sides. They got boots on. Just a bunch of... They got boots on. They on the yard, for sure. Woo, that's going to be a brutal, serious boy.
Starting point is 01:55:58 They going to limp out of that motherfucker. Shout out to the resident Knicks fan. So you say you'd rather... Woo! What about my bucks in that six-pile? What about my bucks? No, seriously, you see who's up there on their shit? Shout out Resident Knicks fan. So you said you'd rather see that six-pilot. Seriously, you see who's up there on their shit?
Starting point is 01:56:09 Shout out Park Capital. It's us. And shout out Gills Arena. And nobody else. It's us. I do see the Gills Arena logo next to the underdog logo. Number one. Who's the number one show of underdog? The one they put up there? They did put a Gills Arena logo there.
Starting point is 01:56:25 Mm-hmm. The price of the brick has... That's what I mean, yes. The price of the brick went up. Now it's going up. You're going to borrow your car after this. No, we're going to borrow their car. But I just need a car.
Starting point is 01:56:34 I want that bus. We'd want the Underdog bus. Hey, hey, Krista. Get here in the main back van. Go have fun. Thank you, man. Oh, for real? The kids are going to love that. I know they're going to love it. Go have fun. Thank you, man. Oh, for real? The kids are going to love that.
Starting point is 01:56:46 I know they're going to love it, man. They're going to love it, man. I'm going to pick them up after this. You're a generous man. I told you. You're going to love me, man. I know you love me. I can't park that shit nowhere around here, man, anyway, man.
Starting point is 01:56:57 Not even a parking space. Not a discreet Maybach van. Not even a parking space, man. I'm going to take that off, man. Every time I see the Maybach minivan in the street. I'll be back tomorrow because I got to go. Do your thing, man. Nobody're taking a parking space, man. Go and take that off, man. Every time I see the Maybach minivan in the street. I'll be back tomorrow because I got to go. Do your thing, man. Nobody care about that no more, man.
Starting point is 01:57:09 Damn. Yo, man up the pit. I need it for a couple days anyway. And it's the van. Hey. And it's the van. The back seat. That's what I want.
Starting point is 01:57:17 All the way. Lay down. I got it laid down. Y'all got to wipe it down. Get some bleach. Probably do. Some bleach wipe. Probably do. Give it a thorough lathering. I'm going'm gonna tell you they never say no it is made bags made back or the Marriott. You're like maybe
Starting point is 01:57:34 Just I'm just gonna be an honor shout out to the Bonvoy club for all the members of the That's some good choices. Right? For real. Made back there. She got to see. Yeah, that makes it feel better. Like, you ain't mean nothing. Is there champagne in the made back? No. No. Ain't even no ice. No nothing. Ooh, that's decisions.
Starting point is 01:57:54 Get back there. They be like, that's an emblem? DJ Khaled. Another one. Hey, that ain't going to have fun, brother. Another one. Is it still in Chinese? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:58:07 I remember when we got it, man. Still has Chinese. It's still in Chinese, yeah, man. Translate. You figure it out. You drive along and I can tell you. COVID. It was COVID that did that, man. I remember that.
Starting point is 01:58:18 COVID fucked everything up because that's when it came over. They cut the shit off in China and then they couldn't bring all the pieces over to make it translated. Yeah, exactly what happened. It was coming in my community, hopping out with paintball. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, well let's keep this moving back to the Western Conference. The OKC Thunder made some history Tuesday as well, getting their 60th win of the season
Starting point is 01:58:40 to tie an Oklahoma City franchise record set during the 2012-2013 season. Let's take a look at some highlights from that game. So SGA led the Thunder with 32.7 rebounds and 5 assists. 10 for 23 from the field, 9 for 10 from the line. It was his 65th straight game scoring 20 or more points this season. Only Jordan Wilt and Oscar Robertson have accomplished that feat. Thunder got their 7 seventh straight win. Now the first team in the league with 60 wins.
Starting point is 01:59:09 So like I mentioned, the 60 wins ties the Oklahoma City franchise record. As we know, they came from Seattle before dipping to Oklahoma City. So Thunder just five wins away from breaking the overall franchise record of 64 wins. It was set during the 95-96 season when the franchise was still the Seattle Sonics. Shout out to Seattle. Great city. He playing like he know he won MVP. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:59:33 He skipping no more. He dumped no more. Yeah. So SGA, we talked about 65 straight games, 20 or more points. SGA also has 37 games with 30 or more points this season, leading the league with nearly a 33-point game average. So as you watch SGA out there and what he's able to do on the floor, what makes SGA such an elite score in this league? Man, really, for me, he doesn't let nobody dictate his game. He's always in control.
Starting point is 02:00:05 I feel like he moves at his own pace. He's crafty, crafty quick. You know, it's the little quick, little subtle moves he do. And being able to shoot any shot you want with that type of, with the game, it's going to be some scary nights, man. So good, your high level scorer during your time in the league. You watch SGA out there on the court. And obviously, this is a regular season.
Starting point is 02:00:36 SGA will get to the playoff SGA in a moment. But what makes him such an effective and elite scorer? Very, very great counter puncher. Yeah. Right? He knows how to shift you, get you going one way, an elite score. Very, very great counter puncher style. Yeah. Right? He knows how to shift you, get you going one way, for you to over jump it so you can come back the way he wants.
Starting point is 02:00:52 It's very under control. His change of speed is very, very good. Knows how to stop on a dime. When you look at his movements, he can go really fast and stop to change directions, which is a skill you have to work on on your own. It's more like a football, like a receiver. Like a Chad Ultra where he can speed up, stop, go, and change, and that's how he actually plays. So no matter how aggressive you are, the way his style is,
Starting point is 02:01:30 he reads your body. He doesn't want to try to cut him off. He can come back the other way if you play off of him. He's going to get you to the point where you have to react to his movements. Sean, when you watch SGA on the court, what impresses you the most about his ability to score at such a high level? He's very skilled.
Starting point is 02:01:55 He's patient. He loves his angles. But to me, a lot of this attributes to how you defend him. And he's the player that takes what you give him. So he's always going to be aggressive to take what you give him. And that's the driving lanes, splitting, being able to Euro over the top, anything to get him in scoring position. I think he's looking for those opportunities more than anything else. And that's the Allen Iverson mentality is getting scoring position.
Starting point is 02:02:34 And I think he's doing a great job of that. But just as far as teams guarding him and trying to figure it out, you got to scheme elbows and boxes, boxing one style. Pass on a man, you got to do man zone against him. I don't know. He's stronger than what you think too though. Well, stronger ain't got nothing to do with being able to make him think and pass. Because he posting up.
Starting point is 02:03:01 All he need is that buck. Elbows and boxes ain't no posting. He uses his body, his shoulder all the time. Boom, he just needs that little space. But that's what I'm saying. So when you crowd his space and make him drive into another lane. If you at the post, you see that man coming up, quick spin. I'm fronting the post.
Starting point is 02:03:20 Shoulder low, boom. Fronting the post, you're not getting it. Okay, fine. A little guard. I'm fronting the post. Don't let him catch it of the post. Shoulder low, boot. Front of the post. You're not getting it. Okay, front. You're going a little guard. I'm front of the post. Don't let him catch it in the post. Three-quarter. Don't let him catch it in the post. He catch it off the post.
Starting point is 02:03:33 He better be catching it at the three-point line. Yeah. So, that's fight on defense. That's fight. Let's make him catch it. Back down. Use your... Pick and roll.
Starting point is 02:03:42 We trap it. Hey, look. Pick and roll. We trap it. Right away. If he he back and down you trying to do strong It's an easy spin off but we trapping that you get herb to drip one step get to your spot the spot He won't he know he gonna get to he know he gonna get to that spot before he gets that He's getting in those spots because there's no schemes. He's just playing one-on-one They're just guarding him one-on-one. He getting by them. That's the first one
Starting point is 02:04:06 step. Ah, get out of here. No, no. That's his first step. He's going by. You see him back that dude there for the three-point line? Yeah, but that's because they're not dubbed. They're not doing nothing. There's no D. Just imagine you being on an island with a player. Who can you guard on an island? Literally, no one can guard nobody in the NBA
Starting point is 02:04:22 on an island. Oh, now, I was thinking about like Sam Cassell, a crafty Sam Cassell in the post. You can't guard that. You can't guard that. It's hard. So you have to send one. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 02:04:33 It's tough. Even knowing that in the scouting report, as soon as Sam Cassell turned his back, listen, we either trapping the pick and roll, or you trying to get the ball out of his hands. We're not letting him back you down. We're not letting Chauncey Billups back you down. We're not letting Baron Davis back you down.
Starting point is 02:04:48 We're not letting Gilbert back you down. We had to send one. You can't double. Everybody's going to try to double. You try to double Kobe. Because he's the only one you've got, but they're not doing it right. They're not doing it right. You've still got 30 attempts.
Starting point is 02:05:00 It don't matter how many times you double, you ain't going to be able to do it every play. There's going to be some quick play, quick moves he gonna do. You think he ain't seen every defense already? No. No, he has not. If he haven't, then the NBA is great. He's playing one-on-one. Nah. That's another thing. It's hard to double.
Starting point is 02:05:22 You got Jalen Williams, you got Chet. That's the difference between this era. Ain't just him by himself. What we used to play in, there's no dead spots out there. You got guys who actually can put the ball in the basket. You got guys who only there just to spread the floor. If I'm a coach, I want those guys to show me what the fuck they can do.
Starting point is 02:05:43 Cause this dude is showing me. He's showing me 30 for a game. I'm not, as a coach, allowing that. Under no circumstances. Every time he play against me, it's 15. No. He's upset. He's never getting 15.
Starting point is 02:05:59 15. We making it tough. He can never get 15. All of our guards are going to foul out. They will. They're going to have to. You don't get 15. All of our guards are going to foul out. They will. And that's 15. They're going to have to. You're going to get 10 free throws.
Starting point is 02:06:08 You don't play for the rest of the week if you don't foul out. I want all six fouls. Then you lost. We ain't losing nothing. You're not going to play. No. He got 15 points. You can't get 15.
Starting point is 02:06:21 He's never getting 15. Unless it's a blowout by 50 or something. So Shea has uncanny ability to get to the free throw line. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Currently second in the league in free throw attempts per game behind Giannis. He do all that. 8.9 free throw attempts per game.
Starting point is 02:06:34 He's shooting 90% from the free throw line. But what's your response to people that say he's a foul merchant or a foul baiter? That's kind of been the worst thrown around when describing him. Oh, because the best players that ever played the game wasn't shooting free throws? Like, is that what we're trying to say here? Giannis averages 10.4 free throw attempts per game, too.
Starting point is 02:06:56 I mean, you go through history. Everybody, all the best players that ever played the game got free throws because that's the best player. You're trying to stop the best player. So, you know, you're going to go to Jordan. You're going to go to, you know, Kobe. You're going to go to Tim Duncan. You're going to go to Shaquille O'Neal.
Starting point is 02:07:17 I mean, if you go through history, that's part of the game. You're trying to figure out how to stop them. So you're going to foul. You're going to figure out how to stop them. So you're gonna file, you're gonna double, they're gonna. Remember back in the day, we used to fake like we got filed. I mean, come on, it was a thing. And it's the people that just know how to get it out. Like Lou Will, that's like 80% of his game.
Starting point is 02:07:41 It's a skill. Yeah, it's a skill. 80% of his game. Lou Will? You just said 80% of his game. It's a skill. Yeah, it's a skill. 80% of his game. Lou Will? You just said 80% of Lou Will's game. Man, he knew how to get fouled. Hell yeah. All right.
Starting point is 02:07:52 Break that down. That motherfucker. Break that down. We had to change the rule for James Harden and KD. Just break that down when you talk about that. 80% of your game. Is getting you in foul trouble. Is trying to get you
Starting point is 02:08:07 in foul trouble. It's a skill. You're not really putting those skills to work. Getting fouled is a skill. It's a skill. It's like boxing. Mayweather is a counterpuncher.
Starting point is 02:08:26 He wants you to tire yourself out, and he's waiting for opportunities. Same thing with a basketball player who's a foul baiter. If I know you're not disciplined enough, you're going to reach, you're going to try to over-aggress yourself, you're going to jump, you're not going to be disciplined. I want to get fouls on you. That's the point like I think the point is am I fouling you or are you trying to get me to foul you am I actually fouling you
Starting point is 02:08:53 or is the ref calling it because you're selling it both is a foul are you selling it it's still a foul is it yes if you're selling it it's still a foul if you it? Yes. If you're selling it? It's still a foul. If I'm selling a foul that you sell. It's different if you're selling it. Why you got to sell it? If it's a foul, it's a foul. You ain't got to sell it. What you selling, nigga? I'm selling you foul money.
Starting point is 02:09:14 Thank you. You're selling the foul. Because you can't sell me the skill. The skill is that. The skill is the foul. Yeah, you got to make it the skill. Because you can't sell me the game. You got to give me this fake shit.
Starting point is 02:09:28 Why you look at OnlyFans sometimes? They selling it, and you watching. I'm buying it. I'm buying it. The ref is buying it. The ref is buying it. But I wish I could get my refund. That's the point.
Starting point is 02:09:41 Have you ever asked for a refund? Hell yeah. And reported the page. You can go far with it. What you mean? Yeah, Ann reported the page. That's fair. Yeah, delete her.
Starting point is 02:09:50 Man of the paper. She was $300 for nothing. Value is important. $300. $300. Oh, that must have been a celebrity. It was somebody. Yeah, I was going to say, because $3 could have got you every day you needed.
Starting point is 02:09:58 To your weight. No, not this one. Oh, that's right. That's right. That's right. That's right. That's right. That's right. That's must have been a celebrity. It was somebody. Yeah, I was going to say, because $3 could have got you everything you needed.
Starting point is 02:10:08 Still waiting. No, not this one. Oh, no, the regular ones. I was like, this is what you do for $3? I was upset. Spicy content with no spice. Oh, my God. I see celebrities.
Starting point is 02:10:19 You can see my feet for $25, girl. You better watch out. $3 gets you everything over here. You know, wipe my phone off for $3. Woo! She almost got me. I was just, I was just wiping my phone off for dead. I thought it was 3D.
Starting point is 02:10:39 I guess y'all wasn't on the early ages of it, huh? Y'all wasn't watching during COVID. Yeah, yeah, they couldn't go to work. Yeah, yeah. My real desperate then. You can't keep going further and further. Yeah, I'm just saying.
Starting point is 02:10:51 You can't give it out, man. $8. So we asked the chat, is SGA the best score in the NBA? 55% said yes. But let's talk about the Thunder a little bit. Thunder on pace to set an NBA record for highest average point differential in a season. Let's take a look if we can. Thunder close to a 13, plus 13 point differential this season.
Starting point is 02:11:11 If we look at the last five teams, you got the Lakers, Bucks, Bulls, Warriors, Celtics. Each of those five teams went on to win a championship in that season. They got a chance, bro. I asked you guys a question. They got a chance, bro. I asked you guys a question. They got a chance. Mm. 71, 72, Lakers. Who the fuck was on that team?
Starting point is 02:11:34 Kareem? No. We weren't on that one. We got Jerry West, Elgin Bailey. I think Elgin didn't finish the season that year. Wilt was still there. That was like his last year. 72.
Starting point is 02:11:43 Oh, they beat W will that year, right? I think we're the only beat what was on the team? Oh Wait in Kareem the Kareem didn't win. He was I don't think he was there No, Kareem didn't that wasn't the year Kareem played will the cream. That's the LG Baylor will Jerry West The year before that was both. What year was Kareem? The year before? He got hurt, I think, earlier in the year, right? When did Kareem play this?
Starting point is 02:12:11 Was that this year, the year before? It was 71 Bucks won the chip. Oh, okay, so the year before. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Like I said, all five of those teams who had a point differential at that level have gone on to win the chip. Ten games left in the season, so this may not hold,
Starting point is 02:12:26 just depending on how the Thunder approach. But it's still, I mean, they'll still be somewhere there. One would hope, unless they just get absolutely smacked in these last ten games. And that point differential goes down. So 72 was Knicks versus Lakers in that championship, but... 72, 73, 70, So, 70, 71. Won two, I believe.
Starting point is 02:12:46 No, 72... The 72 NBA Finals was, uh, Lakers. Oh, I'm looking at it right there. Motherfucker, they... Number three. That's the... That Bucs beat... That's Kareem. He beat the... He beat Wilt, right, in the championship. But then... No, they beat the Baltimore...
Starting point is 02:13:02 Wait, hold on, let me see. What about the Warriors team? I know they was up there, but they lost. I think he beat the Baltimore—wait, hold on, let me see. What about the Warriors team? I know they was up there, but they lost. I think they beat the Bullets. In 71, there was a conference final. Oh, conference finals. The Bucs were weirdly in the West at that time.
Starting point is 02:13:13 Yeah, the Bucs were in the West for a while before they shifted over to the East. I believe it was like late 70s, early 80s before they made the shift to the East. What was the Warriors when they won 73 games or something like that? That was the 15-16 Warriors. Let me see if we can pull that up for you. What was the Warriors when they won 73 games? That was the 15-16 Warriors. Let me see if we can pull that up for you. What was their numbers? That wouldn't tell the truth, though, because the starters sat in the fourth.
Starting point is 02:13:35 Yeah. They don't get their real evaluation. But just bringing to my point, like I said, all those five teams below OKC all went on to win a championship that season. Has OKC proven they can be a 16-win team in the playoffs or given you optimism they can do so? Just bring to my point like I said all those five teams below Okay, see all went on to win a championship that season has okay see proven They can be a 16 win team in the playoffs or giving you Optimism they can do so I know we talked about the squad being young and not having enough playoff experience
Starting point is 02:13:53 Rolling through the NBA right now SGA likely win his first MVP Listen I'm going with history man. I mean, you know, I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and 73 warriors are actually ninth on the list. They were plus 10.76 point differential. And that's what dudes not play in the fourth quarter, which is... I like it. I like it. I don't know. A lot of people had, what, the best player in the league.
Starting point is 02:14:20 That's the thing. I mean, MVP is technically you, the best player in the league. Yeah, yeah. But they always had another one. That's the... All those teams had another one. Yeah. I mean, Jalen Williams is going to be another one.
Starting point is 02:14:39 But he's just not the another one right now. He's... I don't know. They win. You just can't win all them games and not... Then they'll probably get there. I think... Unless they be like Dallas, the fucking Golden State with Baron Davis.
Starting point is 02:14:57 Plenty of teams. I mean, shit, didn't Seattle Supertonics win their number one seed when they lost to Denver? Oh, to Mutombo? Mutombo, yeah. I mean, it happens, but they're not going to lose a number one seed. That was hard. No, I'm not saying they're going to lose. They're not going to lose to the A's.
Starting point is 02:15:10 We've talked about some of the potential matchups. Clippers, Timberwolves could be in the mix there. Well, it could. Shit. That's... I'm telling you. It just shows how good that team is. I believe the Thunder are 16.
Starting point is 02:15:24 What is the Warriors' fault in that spot? Win team in the postseason. What Warriors? That shit we seen yesterday? Man, he better not say their name no more, man. Not the shit. They're not the Warriors, dog. But it's Steph.
Starting point is 02:15:36 No, that's it. When Steph is dead, just say Steph. I don't want to hear no Warrior talk. But it's similar, though. Just say Steph. It's not similar though steph so we watch just say i'll watch we watched him without steph we haven't seen okc without him yet okay just say steph jalen williams not going like they do like like like they do just
Starting point is 02:15:58 steph and the warriors right you just so everyone knows that Steph and the Warriors, don't say Warriors. It's Steph and the Warriors. He got baggage with him. Carry-ons. Plus 15 when he comes to the building. That's why his back was hurting. He said he was tired. Yeah, shit. It wasn't that flow. Hey boss, he said he tired. Shaw, you want to talk again to the... Shaw, comment. I'm going to talk some hoop. I really like watching them play
Starting point is 02:16:32 when it comes to the dynamic of driving kick, dribble handoffs. They got good spacing with Isaiah Joe, Caruso, even the big boy. Is it Wallace? Number six with the dreads. The big man they got. No, Williams. Caruso, even the big boy, is it Wallace? Number six with the dreads, the big man they got. Jalen Williams? Nah, Williams.
Starting point is 02:16:49 The other Jalen, the other Williams. Yeah. And then Chet, you know, they using Chet coming off the dribble handoff now with Harkestan playing in the middle. So it's a lot of moving actions where you look at the March Madness, how they play with a lot of dribble, drive, kick,
Starting point is 02:17:04 dribble, drive, kick, dribble, drive, kick, dribble, drive, kick. They do a lot of that. And if you think about defense in the NBA, there's not a lot of disciplined teams that will be able to stop those drives after the third drive. And that's what they're doing. Defenses are breaking down. SGA usually have his hands on the ball with the third drive, fourth drive. Defenses break down.
Starting point is 02:17:26 I like what they're doing. If they can sustain it against that one team for seven games, for multiple rounds, I think they got a chance to get there. I think the winner out of, if this happens, the winner out of the Lakers and OKC wins, it should go to the championship. If they match up? Yeah. Currently on pace to match up in the second round?
Starting point is 02:17:50 I think if they match up early, if they match up early. That's their biggest threat. I think the winner of the other matchup and the winner for them is going to be who the winner is. I don't think it's going to be that matchup. I don't see them beating them. Never can beat them. I don't see that.
Starting point is 02:18:04 Beat who? OKC? OKC. They can beat the Lakers I don't see that. Beat who? OKC? OKC. They can beat the Lakers, though. Luka. They can beat the Lakers, though. No, hell no. We whooped their ass with Luka this year.
Starting point is 02:18:12 Come on, man. With Joker. We whooped their ass this year. With the school team. Seven games, bro. We talking about not one game. We talking about seven games. We playing tricks on them.
Starting point is 02:18:21 That's why the second time we played them, we didn't play none of our players. Y'all just got blasted by Chicago. You just got blasted by Chicago. With the full squad. But Luka in the playoffs. Does Denver got the shooters that Chicago has? No.
Starting point is 02:18:38 They better team, though. You don't got to say shooters. Being a better team and got better shooters. Luka in the playoffs is different. That's all I'm saying. Luka in the playoffs is different. Look, that's all I'm saying. Luka versus Shay, then you add LeBron and Reeves and... Come on. So Bulls beat the Nuggets recently.
Starting point is 02:18:52 Joker did not play in the game, but they did. That... I'm just going off of last year. Go off this year. Luka in the playoffs is scary every year, so I'm gonna just go off of Luka. But what... How scary is it? It doesn't end in a nightmare. Shit, it damn near do.
Starting point is 02:19:11 No, it don't. For the West. We only scared for a little bit. For the West, yeah. To be the fifth seed playing against... What? He played the Clippers first round? Whoop they ass. Then he played the one seed. Whoop they ass. Then played the next Jordan? Whoop they ass. Then he played the one seed. Whoop they ass.
Starting point is 02:19:26 Then he played the next Jordan. Whoop they ass. The team that beat But that was another team. You talking about Dallas. You not talking about the Lakers. No, bro. You can't do that. Because Dallas actually had two bigs. They had Kyrie Irving. They had a bunch
Starting point is 02:19:42 of utility players that actually could compliment getting there. Are you saying that team is better than this team? Hell yeah. Oh, you're crazy. Who does Jackson? Jackson Hayes don't match Gaffer or Ivey. Ivey and Jackson Hayes are the same person, man. Same person.
Starting point is 02:19:56 Look the same, everything. Same person. All right, Gaffer then. He's just a big dude. Look, look, look. Luka made them. Man, Denver don't got the shooters to spread it for like they used to.
Starting point is 02:20:08 Nobody's worried about them. Yeah, we ain't worried about Denver. As the chat pointed out, bull swept season series. What about Houston? Worst of nuggets. Houston got a bunch of athletes. Like, about Houston. Houston is them last year.
Starting point is 02:20:21 Huh? So, Houston's no threat? No. To who? To Denver? To Denver? No. No So Houston's no threat? No. To who? To Denver? All year. To Denver? No.
Starting point is 02:20:27 No. To the Lakers? No. No, no, no. Huh? Houston not beating the Lakers? No. Huh?
Starting point is 02:20:36 Houston Oilers, Houston Saints. Houston? Lakers. Houston? Woody Hooten? Woody Huddy? What? Hustle Man?
Starting point is 02:20:44 What you saying? Lick of the fire. Houston Rockin' Little... Listen, man, Houston is a... they nice, man. Nah, they too good to go. If I had to bet something, whether it's OKC, Houston, Denver, or the Lakers, those four.
Starting point is 02:21:08 All right, go from first to last. OKC, Houston. Houston the winner should do what? Denver, Lakers. He ranking them as a go further, right? OKC, Houston, Lake, uh, Denver, Lake, yeah. Fuck.
Starting point is 02:21:28 You hear that blasphemy? Houston can go, bro. Just like Detroit might go. Go where? Surprise everybody. Shit. Nah. How many season series has Houston won with other teams?
Starting point is 02:21:46 None. Can we find that out? This season? When was the last time they won a playoff series? No, season series against other teams. What was their record against OKC? Let me pull it up for you. But you can't do the Lakers then, though.
Starting point is 02:22:01 You got to do the Lakers now. It's hard to do that. So Rockets are 1 and 3 versus the Thunder this year. OK. OK. They got their asses blasted by the Nets twice this month. The Rockets? Yeah, they lost the Nets twice, they lost the Timberwolves, they lost the Mavs, didn't have nobody.
Starting point is 02:22:34 And the Warriors beat them, Jazz beat them. So Rockets 1-3, 1-3 versus the Thunder. The Kings just... 3-1 versus the Grizzlies. They only played the Lakers one time. They got a couple games, I think, coming up soon. This is in the West. You're using the West team that they won the season series against?
Starting point is 02:22:54 So they won the season series against the Grizzlies. And that's it? 3-1. They won it three against the Thunder this year. They've only played the Lakers once, won that game. Okay. They're young. I mean, it's just.
Starting point is 02:23:04 So that's, you know, we ask that question just to see how many games they can win against other teams they haven't won series against. So they might have a chance against... The Lakers. The old Lakers, yeah. Not the Lucas? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:23:20 They didn't play this Lakers, right? The Lucas. They're going to have Clippers or Minnesota in the first round. Oh Minnesota and the Clippers I Like the clip matchup So they beat the Clippers beating the Clippers all three times they played in all three times so they won that butup. But this was early in the season, early November. Kawhi is here now. Yeah. No Kawhi. Whole different team. But for our confidence, we won three against them.
Starting point is 02:23:48 We're not tripping on what the fuck is there now. It's Kawhi. We 3-0 against them. We cool. What else? Anybody? What was the other team? Hold on.
Starting point is 02:23:54 Minnesota. Minnesota. We're getting the spinning wheel. There we go. And then Rockets versus Wolves this season, 2-2. Like that. We like that. We like that. I can see that going. I like Houston.
Starting point is 02:24:08 I can see it going 6-5. And that one game they beat OKC, what was that? But remember, in the playoff, your stars, who is they star? Your stars need to step up. We don't know. We don't know. That whistle blows for the star. We don't know.
Starting point is 02:24:23 So they beat the Thunder by three back on December Regular season shit man. That shit ain't that shit ain't working three games I'm who's the worst? Who are you going to win it get to the rest long whistle who the refs blowing a whistle? I don't got that. Yes. Okay, they need that. Yeah, they do But they don't mean we know he had to give it to somebody, it would be Jalen Green, and we know that. But he hasn't proven that he's the star. He ain't going to get Ant-Man. And then who is the all-star of the team?
Starting point is 02:24:51 No one. So they're not going to get him. So they played each other. Ant-Man is the actual all-star. Played each other early November. Thunder won by 19. They played them December 1st. That's the game the Rockets won by three.
Starting point is 02:25:03 They played them December 14th. That's the game the Rockets won by three. They played them December 14th. The Thunder won by 15. And then they just played on March 3rd. Thunder won by nine. Okay, so they got that. They lost one, lost again, and then lost again. But it was a closer game the last time around. All right. 19-15-9. So they getting better, if you want to put it like it was it was 19 five with 19 We won by three. Yeah lost by 15. They lost. Yeah Most recent game lost by nine. It was more to go six. It'll go six if they
Starting point is 02:25:35 Know and they'll be a sweet win to know this week. We're about with less than three weeks away I'm three weeks away from the playoff. Oh, man. It's gonna be a whole bunch of reality checks But until then let's move on play. I'm three weeks away from the playoffs, Harden. Ooh. Bet it. There's going to be a whole bunch of reality checks. But until then, let's move on. Well, they don't play. I know, yeah. Let's move on to Mostly Fans. Presented by Underdog. Go ahead, download the app.
Starting point is 02:25:54 Use promo code GILL. Get over $1,000 in bonus cash plus a special pick. As a reminder, shout out to Underdog. Series 3 funding and that valuation up, GILL. Uh-oh. GILL's arena. On the logo. I wasn't bullshitting about the car.
Starting point is 02:26:07 I just wanted to let you know that. I wasn't bullshitting about getting it out of here. Give me a hug. No head shake. Come on, man. Show me some love, dog. You don't want to be smug. Baby, this my dog.
Starting point is 02:26:18 So first question is from underdog user Bean Burrito. It's a question for you, Swaggy. It says, Swaggy, what were you doing 11 years ago today? I had the white girl around the corner. She around the corner? I had the white girl. Oh, I thought she said she around the corner now. My bad.
Starting point is 02:26:39 My bad. Go ahead. You never know. I was just trying to figure out. He would have been illegal, right? So were you getting arrested in the alley? We have a video of what you were doing 11 years ago. No, 11 years ago, you was probably hopping my fence.
Starting point is 02:26:52 No, you was probably doing some shit on the court that you ain't supposed to be doing. We actually have a video of what you were doing on the crosswalk. I probably averaged about 20 of these. Let's take a look. Look how much enthusiasm the Lakers are playing with. More from, more from... Trying to mimic me with the zero. Look at the move, though. Look how much enthusiasm the Lakers are playing with. More from, more from... Trying to mimic me with the zero.
Starting point is 02:27:06 Look at the move, though. Look how much separation that is. Beautiful move. Wow. Sexual chocolate. Sexual chocolate. Damn, that's what I need to be playing against. Shum, you see that hand there?
Starting point is 02:27:23 I was giving him 20. I was giving him 20. I was giving him 20. But he's still in shape. It was five threes back to back. Boom, boom, boom. All right. Let's move on to our next question. You did have a good game in that game, despite that meme being made.
Starting point is 02:27:35 This question is from underdog user D Colbert. He said, DeMar crossed 25,000 points this week. Is he a lock for the Hall of Fame? DeMar DeRozan, DeRozan, he's got 25,000 points. Yeah. a lock for the Hall of Fame? DeMar DeRozan, DeRozan, 25,000 points. Yeah. Locked for the Hall of Fame? Yes. No discussion?
Starting point is 02:27:48 No discussion. DeMar a lock? For what? A Hall of Fame. I guess. We seeing it right now? We trying to say it now? Just 25,000.
Starting point is 02:28:04 25,000 career points. Yeah. Is there somebody that got 20,000 points that's not a Hall of Famer? I mean, if it ain't 50,000, man, I'm not impressed. Get to 50, killer. That's fair. That is a high number to attain.
Starting point is 02:28:23 You think you ever see him in like a championship game, a final? Who? DeMar. Never know. Never know. I'm not going to say no. I know it's tough. I'm not going to say no.
Starting point is 02:28:36 But it's like right now we throw around the criteria, so it's like us saying it now before his career is over, it's like if we say yeah then he stopped playing hard he stopped playing at this very moment 25,000 career points I mean if you came to the Lakers no we would not have been just like we're seeing a fire stop right now we'll be there we'll be there watching they probably would have thrown me that trades no no no no we was always doing the same person in there the Tracy We'll be there. We'll be there watching. They probably would have thrown him in that Trace. No, no, no, no. We was always throwing the same person in there.
Starting point is 02:29:08 The Trace he got? Hey, McGrady got 25? No. Yeah. 25,000? He got 25? DeMar got 25? Yeah, yeah, 25.
Starting point is 02:29:17 DeMar got 25. If T-Mac don't got 25, if T-Mac don't got 25, he definitely at Alabama. But he got more accomplishments than T-Mac. T-Mac, 18,381 career points. Is PG around there, 20,000? Yeah. 18,381 career points for T-Mac. But he was hurt, too.
Starting point is 02:29:36 PG? PG, 18,690. PG, Hall of Famer, too. T-Mac is the metric as far as accomplishments, scoring leader, points, and all the stuff he did in a short period of time. He didn't ever win, didn't get out of the play, all that stuff. All NBAs, scoring titles, that's what actually gets you. How many all NBAs he got, Damar?
Starting point is 02:30:02 He never been first team, right? Or has he? You got Ginobili, Tony Parker. I'm trying to think of that. Augusta. They've always been first a lot. Three All-NBAs, two seconds, one third, six-time All-Star. Yeah, he makes it.
Starting point is 02:30:18 Wait, oh, he got a first? No, two seconds and a third. Two seconds and a third All-NBAs. Yeah, he makes it. Time for our last piece of the business of the day. It's our Gillian subscriber giveaway. Ladies and gentlemen, we are oh so close. You see... Wait, can we... Can't show the... Let me move it over.
