arena today. LeBron made his debut for his NBA record 23rd season. Do the Lakers have enough to be a real contender in the West? The Rockets have won nine of their last 10 games and are on pace for the highest offensive rating in league history. How far can their dynamic duo of KD and Alper and Shangoon take them this season? And Shea Gildedis Alexander and Nicole Yokic are the front runners in the MVP race yet again. But what does Joker need to do to dethrone SGA? So let's get right to it. No reason to beat around the bush. We've got to talk about the biggest story last night. LeBron missed the first 14 games in season while dealing with the sciaticas. But Tuesday night, Brian added another record to his legacy, becoming the first player in league history to play 23 seasons. So just how long has LeBron been in the league? Well, 82 current NBA players were born after his NBA debut in October of 2003.

So we talked about how LeBron would fit with this Lakers offense, with Luca putting together an MVP-level season, Austin Reeves emerging as a star, where we got our first glimpse with the Lakers taking on the Jazz at the crib, and it looks promising. Let's check out the highlights. God is good. He will, won't he?

Brown pulled up to the arena more than five hours before the game in anticipation of his debut. We see the chalk toss. We know it was game time. Little rusty to start. Didn't get his first buck until early in the second quarter. But LeBron was out there doing this thing. Looking like LaMagic Bronson,

embracing the role as facilitator. Brown finished with 11 points on 4-07 shooting and a game high 12 assists in his 30 minutes action. Six of those 12 assists came in the fourth quarter to help the Lakers put the game out of reach. Brian also made two threes in the game passing Reggie Miller for sixth all time on the career list. Slovenia and Jesus continued his offensive domination. Luca dropped 17 of his 37 points in the third quarter, adding 10 assists, five rebounds, and four steals. It was Lucas' seventh 35-point game this

season. Papad de Limon, Austin Reeves added 26 and five boards and DeAndre Aden had 20 and 14 boards for his third straight 20-point double double. Lori and Kiante George had the jazz rolling early. Marketing finished with 31 points, George had 34 and eight dimes. The game was close through most of the first three quarters. But then the Lakers do, what the Lakers do. Oh, hold on, there you see it. Dime time.

Lakers went on a 21 to five run to end the third quarter to take a double-digit league with plays like that. I saw beautiful city jerseys, city back on fire. Luke out here celebrating. Rhonda Aiden. And Ronnie got some time, too. And after JJ Reddick had told him to shoot the effing ball, Ronnie heated his advice knocking down a game-cealing three-pointer.

Game ceiling. Yeah. It was out of reach at that point. We were watching on playback doing the stream. The stream cut off in every day when he hit it. The internet said the internet said the. job here is done. The work is done. Leggars put up to see no moat. There was nothing left

to be seen. Game sealed. No way the jazz were going to come back after that. Leggars put up a season high, 140 points that approved to 11 and 4, moving to 4th in the Western Conference with their third straight win. After the game, LeBron and Luca had this to say about Brown's first game with the purple and gold. It was just fun to be out there with the guys, man.

Like I said, it's been rough mentally for me. It's the first time I started a basketball season and not played since I've started playing basketball at like nine years old. I've never missed the beginning of a basketball season. And so, you know, just going through that, you know, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and everything just testing me and just keeping my head down, you know, with the work and then keeping my head up with faith. You know, it's got me to this point today.

And it's just great to have a lot of joy, a lot of probably seeing me smiling and talking a lot on the court today, just being out with those guys just so fun. Was that yesterday's practice, post-practice? I can fit in with anybody to... I don't know you understand why that was even a question. What's wrong with these people out here? I can fit in right and win with anybody. It's 23rd season.

It's insane. And just sharing the call with him, it's special. And he sees things that other people can. So he's here to help us all. So it's amazing. And it's only his first game back, and he played the main. So I'm excited to play some more.

So LeBron now holds the records for the most points, rebounds, assists, steals, threes, and double doubles for a player in their 23rd season. He doesn't? I like the narrative, are you saying? It is narrative pushing Wednesday, good. This is also the first time in May history that a father replaced their son in the starting lineup.

He basically had a triple team. And the fact that that's what's still happening today makes it even easier for, you know,

some of the shooters that we have on the roster. So with him, Luca, and AR demanding that much attention, I mean, Aiton's going to, his plays has to go up, right? you know, Marcus Smart on his side, you know, hitting those open shots. Rui doing whatever that shit he does, that he learned in Japan. Like, I'm just saying, like, it's very, it's very outdated basketball, like some of his post moves is like from the 80s, right? It looks like he has no American training.

Turn around and just turn around, just, you know, just like, yeah, it's real real. Hey, no faiths. It's like, Chris. Like, Coley, you do what you do. But, you know, the fact that it's, the fact that he's still getting triple team just opens up the game so much more. So they see, like, that second half. I mean, the first half is rough because, you know, he's trying to fit in. Everybody's still trying to play their game.

But in the second half, it looked like well-old machine. Chip City. 2026 is right on schedule. Kenney, a current Lakers fan. I don't have to throw that in, can you? You know what? What happened? Let me just take off the Chip City

in the 2026 until after he does this thing. Caneyet Lakers fan adjacent, hoping to bring you over to this side at some point. You know there's only one way that's going to happen. I've been making calls. I've been working my background. The way that's going to ever happen, so. Also sent some tape of cash. people like this is a new team like no man if he wanted to come out early and be aggressive offensive and take shots he would have he's a smart basketball player

man he ain't played this long physically and his mental game has always been above most people So he understands where he can get his spots. He understands how to fit in like Gil's point he made yesterday.

He's played on the Olympic team. So being in that surrounding where you had to dump your game down, but then turn it on when they need you, he's able to do that. So yesterday wasn't surprised him to come out and be the facilitator that he was, have double-digit assist in the first game, and let just let the offense come. Yeah, I'm not, let his scoring come. Rather.

Still being like, this is the, it's a misconception when people tell you to be aggressive offensive they think you have to shoot it every time, right? You can be aggressive to be a playmaker. And I think him being aggressive to be a playmaker, getting to his spots, but choosing to pass on those spots with guys cutting and open looks and things like that, yes, he's getting this spot still. So it's, yeah, he's being aggressive, but he's being aggressive to be a playmaker and not a score.

The scoring will come, right? Because, like the year said, they're paying Utah. They're dumb. They got the triple team to man this first game back. Like, they're stupid. So you picked the right game to come back, like I said yesterday. Yeah. Right?

You picked the right game to come back. You want to go come back against OKC or nobody like that. That'd be Houston and those shit like that. Like, no, that's not smart. Right? You come back against a lesser team that gave up 140 points. Shit. So play the Jazz Tuesday.

They've been on all types of team with all type of players, and they had to fit in at some point. They had to adjust their game. So the fact that you're that you're that naive to say, I'm not going to put these guys together because they're not going to fit. You put those guys together, they're going to see what each other does well, and they're going to figure it out. And that's what happens here

These are NBA These are the elite of the elite Like you really have to be stubborn Not to want to figure it out That's all it is I'm too stubborn Like I know he can do this But I'm setting my ways

That's that personality That's rare in the NBA You come across it but it's rare Most players You put an all-star team together They figure it out They know what I'm good at And what I'm not good at

If they're trying to win If they're trying to win they're going to figure it out. Like, it's no point. This is the Lakers, it's Hollywood. We talked about in the offseason. Obviously, Luca getting his extension, kind of how LeBron was feeling coming into year 23.

Polink is saying, you know, he hopes that he could stay with the Lakers. That would be a positive story, but being more or less non-committal. LeBron having to opt into the final year's deal for the first time in his career. So naturally, there was going to be some discussion about how he's going to be able to acclimate

and fit in with his team. They have 14 games without him. I was 10 and 4 at that point before he came back last night. And it seems like, hey, I'm just going to fall in line. at least when we've seen for this first game sample size and do what I can to help the team win. Oh, LeBron.

Like, I'm still confused. I'm like, I'm saying what people were feeling out there and there are all browns go come in and mess up the chemistry. That's why I mentioned. I said, this is not the Olympic team, right? Where there's a Kevin Durant, there's a Curry. Right?

There's an NB. There's a Booker. It's not that team. He's coming back to his own team that he was, he's been here forever. It's that team. He's coming back to his own team. Build boards everywhere that got the champion. That's his team.

There's a new guy here, but it's still his team while he's there. If worst case scenario, he is second option. Yeah. Worst case. Worst case. And at this age, I'm pretty sure he doesn't mind being the second option to a guy. That's doing what Luca is doing, right? Consistently.
