Episode Date: February 26, 2025

Luka Doncic's Revenge Game BLOWS UP Gil's Arena as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena Crew react to Luka's first game against the Dallas Mavericks as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers where the Sloven...ian superstar dropped a triple double and proved the LeLuka Broncic duo with LeBron James is one of the best in the NBA. They then move to recap the Memphis Grizzlies take down of the Phoenix Suns where Ja Morant proved the 2-seeded Grizzlies are legit by fending off Devin Booker, Kevin Durant & Bol Bol and showed that the Suns may really be cooked as they sit outside of the NBA playoff picture. They also react to Kevin Durant's emotional response to playing for Team USA in the Olympics, sparking an interesting debate on the unfair criticism of KD. Next, Mr B gets hostile as The Gil's Arena Crew breaks down the Milwaukee Bucks winning streak and gets real on the impact left behind by Bobby Portis' shocking suspension. Finally, with just a few months left in the NBA season Nikola Jokic is making a big push for his 4th NBA MVP Award as the Denver Nuggets all world center dropped a career high 19 assists on Monday night and proved to everyone in the NBA that he deserves the MVP over Shai Gilgeous Alexander. Starting point is 00:02:49 Swaggy Pete Nick Young in the house. Bringing his championship experience at multiple levels. And on this side of the couch, we got the bully from Oak Cliff, former number one pick, Kenyon Martin. What's happening?
Starting point is 00:03:04 Interesting fashion choice today. Oh, not by choice. What's happening? Interesting fashion choice today, Kenyon. Oh, not by choice. It's by force. Honorable man. We did the Gills Arena All-Star Draft. Kenyon's team came in last place. Dead fucking last. Rashad won, so he has to wear...
Starting point is 00:03:16 He had to bring his nightgown for me to wear. Rashad's jersey. Rashad here. The real one? Motherfucker. The early 2000s. Oh, so you know it's. Oh, you know is all Yeah, that's what you
Starting point is 00:03:36 Like think about like that you'll do the other camera angle And I'm definitely five inches taller than him Yeah, early 2000 joins right bro. Yeah, it's early 2000s joints right here. That was well-bought. If it wasn't for the touch of the knees, you wasn't involved. In all contexts, I have shirts at home that's much bigger than this one. The jersey dress.
Starting point is 00:03:55 The jersey dress. Think about the shorts for that, though. The crazy shit is, my jersey, I'm going to bring one in. Listen, oh my god. I know, dawg. This is a 50. My shit like a 56. Damn. Plus six.
Starting point is 00:04:06 My shorts was 54 plus four. Yeah, so. Well, you know, you gotta crunch it right here. Yeah. And last but not least, representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd University, Mr. B, Brandon Jennings. Brandon, do you like it?
Starting point is 00:04:23 I just saw that jacket. That jacket mean as a motherfucker. Thank you. AI. I just saw it just now. That motherfucker mean. You got the AI? AI wants the tough crowd.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Y'all need to do the... Y'all might as well just collab. Figure it out. We'll figure it out. You ran up on me on All Stars. I need that tough crowd. You gotta look at R&B today, baby. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:04:39 I just dropped the hottest R&B out. Look at R&B, okay. Okay. You know? Ooh, yeah. We got the scene took, R&B, okay. Okay. Ooh, yeah. Ooh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:48 And for all the fans out there, we still got two viewing options for you, our traditional version, a mobile vertical version. Pick whichever one you want to watch. Just make sure you watch the show. I'm so uncomfortable. That shit itches. I'm just so uncomfortable. I'm uncomfortable in this motherfucker, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:05:09 But I did lose a bet. That jersey was hard back in the day. Go off today. I did lose a bet. Crash out today. Y'all didn't like that jersey back in the day? Who? That jersey was hard back in the day.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Yeah. Did it ever have like the black one was, the black one was crazy. Yeah, the black one was the black one. The black one was crazy. Silver? I do not know. No. Just because the game part. The black one was crazy. Silver? No. That would have been like that 2005, 2006
Starting point is 00:05:29 when it was freaky shit. They could have used the silver top or some shit. What was the best jersey, Orlando Magic's? The pinstripe? The phone posits came out. Like with Penny. I think that's what he's coming out with. The Bulls.
Starting point is 00:05:42 It was Bulls. That Bulls black. That black with the stripes. The black withs that bull black black with this Stripes the black and red stripe. Yeah, that was different. Oh the bulls I was like the bull that pinstripe was yeah, that's it right? Okay. So my great next Jersey was mean Yeah, I'll great. I agree. That shit was hot fire in desire world. You know, it's just hot the Los Angeles Lakers We were talking about Our gray net shit was hot. Fire and desire, world. You know what else is hot? The Los Angeles Lakers. We were going to talk about this on the show.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Here's what's cracking in the arena today. No, okay, we got to do a tease first. But they are the first tease. Luka delivered his first triple-double with the Lakers in his first game against the Mavs. Is the Luka-Bronchik combo the scariest duo in the league right now? A laughter of fear. Because he agreed.
Starting point is 00:06:25 That sounded like fear. That was a scary duo laugh. The Suns are 2-9 this month. And outside of even the playing, can Phoenix fix their issues to salvage their season? Or are the Suns cooked? That's it. And John Morant and the Grizzlies are holding down the second spot in the West, but are they for real or fugazi?
Starting point is 00:06:48 But before we get into all that, as always, this show is brought to you by Underdog. Starting point is 00:08:08 I just request oxtails. Huh? I just request a lot of oxtails. That type of party. What happened now? I need oxtails and nibble taters so we get a million subscribers. Like Wizard Days.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Nice. Driving downtown. Yeah. Made me think of them. She told me she owe y'all a batch, too. We need them oxtails. Yeah, she wasn't happy with the last batch. I was very, very, very impressed.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Can't tell. Every batch is good. Every batch is good. She told me she owe y'all a batch of oxtails. She wasn't too impressed with the... Let her know that we appreciate it. To go plates. Winners will be announced at the end of the show. I mean, a lot of things to discuss on the show today,
Starting point is 00:08:42 but we might as well just get right to it. Get right to it. Can I? It Get right to it. Zach, can I? It is Gil's Arena. Just smoke. Okay, we gonna smoke it. We do it. We do it. I'm going to the back till y'all get done. Oh, you gonna stay for this? Hey, we did not see you at the end of the game.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I thought you gonna stay for this. He over here like Niko. Yeah, I'm gonna just go on and go to the back. Just go on to the back until he finish. Thank you, Niko Champs. Oh. So, after his unceremonious exit from Dallas before the trade deadline
Starting point is 00:09:08 on one of the wildest moves in league's history, with his former team basically calling him a fat, out of shape, no defense playing alcoholic. That's pretty much what they said. You already know Luka had his first game against the Mavs circled on the calendar, and the Slovenian superstar was looking for revenge on Mavs GM Nico Harrison
Starting point is 00:09:24 in a new ownership group that shipped him to L.A. And revenge he got. Oh, yeah. Luka messed around and dropped his first triple-double with the purple and gold, finishing with 19 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. But he was 6-for-17 from the field, 1-for-7 from deep, but that is not a big deal. Obviously a lot of emotions going against his former team. Luka joins LeBron and Westbrook as the only players in NBA history to have a triple-double on all 30 teams in the league.
Starting point is 00:09:53 So throughout the game, Nick, as you mentioned, Lakers fans serenaded Mavs GM Nico Harrison with, thank you, Nico, chants. And we want to just thank you one more time, Nico, for all that you've done. LeBron let Luka do his thing for the first three quarters, but took over in the fourth. But let's watch some Luka real quick before we get to LeBron.
Starting point is 00:10:12 There's some LeBron, though. Wow, we saw that live. Man. Kyrie did his thing, too, though, so we're gonna give him some love. Umamento. But LeBron let Luka do his thing for the first three quarters, took over in the fourth scoring 16 of his 27 points in the final period. Also had 12 rebounds, 3 assists, the best third option in the league. Austin Reed delivered another solid performance with 20 points and 5 dimes.
Starting point is 00:10:35 AD was in the building but did not play in the game while he recovers from his left adductor strain but he was honored with the tribute video. Max Christie I believe had 10 points all in the first half as well. But Kyrie was cooking for the Mavs. 35.7 rebounds, four assists, three steals, two blocks. Mavs made things interesting in the fourth quarter. As Klay Thompson caught fire scoring 11 straight, finishing with 22 and eight boards. But the Lakers, I mean the Lucas, would not be denied. Purple and Gold got their third straight win.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Nine and two in their last 11 games have won eight straight games against teams above 500. Luka giving some love to his former team. It's not their fault. Mark Cuban also in the building. It's not his fault either. Hey, hey, hey. See you next summer. Meet Hermano.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Yeah, you know, opt out. See you this summer, fam. Kyrie, we got a vet minimum for you. They got a little game handshake. We got that vet minimum for you, Kyrie. Come on. Vet minimum? We got Gabe Benz and Rui. Who we giving up for? Who we giving up for?
Starting point is 00:11:31 Yeah, that's their last year in their deal. Shemar Moore? You know LeBron's contract is up too, right? He can opt out, I believe. Yeah, we gonna opt out. Uh-huh, take half, give half to Kyrie. All minimums. You know, get take half, give half to Kyrie. All minimums. You know, get rid of a few people here and there.
Starting point is 00:11:48 And then throw a little contract under the table. We go cheap. We need Giannis, too. Right, so LeBron will have to take the vet minimum. Get Giannis. LeBron take the vet minimum. LeBron take the vet minimum. We get half.
Starting point is 00:12:02 You want a lot. Half to Kyrie. Half to Giannis. Give Giannis a couple buildings somewhere. Where is he from? What's his religion? Greco-Nigerian. We'll give him.
Starting point is 00:12:12 We're the Nigerian. We don't have Greek town, but we'll make one. Yeah, we can own that. You can own that. You know what I mean? We got a Greek deal, y'all. You need palm dill? We got palm dill for you.
Starting point is 00:12:21 You can have palm dill, y'all. You come. But after the game, Luca had this to say about facing his former team for the first time. It was just a lot of emotions and not much sleep. But I can't even explain. It was a different game. Like I said, sometimes I don't know what I was doing. I'm just glad it's over, honestly.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Immediately following the game, Lucas said he couldn't wait to get home, get to sleep. You know what? Can you please translate what he's trying to say in... Slovenia? No, superstar status. Go. I just busted you bitch niggas' ass for trading me. No, I said superstar.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Superstar, like professional Kobe. That was professional. No, that's young Ratchet. You know, because he's the face, but because he's foreign, they don't really speak very well. So you got to give it to them. My friends. All right?
Starting point is 00:13:15 Take this out. Take this out, my friends. You know, you was listening to him like, yeah, we need some work to do Luca. Yeah, that's Luca. All right. You might need a penny doll or something. Give him a translator.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Just a little Luca doll that can speak for you. A little Luca? Okay, Chris Rock. Fire up the vocal cords. Right now, brother, you're struggling. So, most of the Gills Arena crew was at the game, living the sweet life like Zach and Cody, and most of us stayed for the entire game. Kenyon, you were overcome with emotion watching this new look Lakers squad send a statement
Starting point is 00:13:41 to the city of Dallas where you grew up, but you left a little early. Cemetery Larry mysteriously disappeared with the amount of minutes ago in the game. We just looked up he was gone He said what in the game about a minute to go five Oh about five he was gone before me. Yeah He stayed to see if they were gonna make that no He was in behind me I look back for me. Yeah. We didn't know if he was okay or not. I left for two minutes. Yeah, he left for two minutes.
Starting point is 00:14:07 He left for five minutes. I was speed walking out of there. But he did emerge in the group chat this morning, so we know that he's okay. Okay. But y'all ask you first, how did Luka look in his first game against the Mets? Amazing. Okay. No, I mean, you know, what he brings, that's why the trade is laughable.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Like, we're really excited. And no matter what excuse you make, we don't care. You know, that's what he's saying. Because there's things super, I mean, everybody has their own thing, but there's players in the league that has this thing that you can't quantify with regular stats. When Luka drives, the defense itself have to play perfect basketball because he's so smart, so patient,
Starting point is 00:15:01 that any misstep, he's going to pass he's gonna make a lay of you you know like Kobe with his a pump fake right when Giannis on a fast break there's just things you can't you can't calculate on a stat sheet that he brings to the game so when you're watching him drive the ball every time he drove the ball you're like something's gonna happen when you're watching him drive the ball, every time he drove the ball, you're like, something's gonna happen, right? You can't game plan for when he drives. You can't stay home, you can't dive. You know, he'll fake like he's taking a shot,
Starting point is 00:15:34 and you all suck in here, throw that pass. There's just these things that certain players have that you can't measure it. So when you're watching him last night, and he's just making these passes and every pass looks better than the last, just reminds you of a Magic Johnson type, a Jason Kidd type,
Starting point is 00:15:54 where when you're playing help defense, you have to be alert. And that's what he brings to the Lakers, that you're not going to be able to see it on a stat sheet. And we thought Luka would have a dominant game. Dominant across the stat sheet, though. He did have a triple-double. His first triple-double with the Lakers,
Starting point is 00:16:13 but it was six for 17. Created 53 points. But what I really appreciated was the rest of the team allowing him to cook, kind of battle through that. Then LeBron, fourth quarter, said, all right, I got you, young fella. I'll use my 40-year-old championship experience. And I feel like it's always hard, like,
Starting point is 00:16:29 playing against your old team or after you get traded because you have so many emotions. You want to do good. You want to bust their ass. And you're thinking about, especially in his case, you know, being a superstar, getting traded, probably a little upset. So you're going, you're battling all kind of things
Starting point is 00:16:48 off the court, so when you're out there, your first shot might be long or something, but I don't think you can speed Luka up. He play at his 35 and older pace all game. You can't speed him up. For real. And Swag, you talk about that emotions. Luka picked up a tech first three minutes of the game, very fiery, you know, going at the refs.
Starting point is 00:17:07 That was an issue he had in Dallas I think Mavs fans had a problem with. Or not Mavs, but the Mavs had a problem with. You foresee any of that being an issue on this Lakers squad? Talking back to the refs. I think we want that. I think we like that fire here. I think JJ talked about that. But what I was more impressed with, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:25 how AD was in the building and he was still saying thank you, Nico, in front of him. So Lakers fans be gangsters, bro. Think about it. Right? He's sitting right there. Sitting there looking good. They saying thank you.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Thank you. We gave AD a thank you and Then they gave Nico a thank you. Like, damn, y'all savage. Nico Harrison did not get a tribute video. Should have. Must have. Should have got one. AD had a very nice tribute video.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Obviously did not play in that game. Let's shift it over to this side of the couch. Mr. B, that Laker bandwagon calling you. LA representative Compton Gardena. Yeah. No, I think for Luka, though, any time you can play against a team that traded you, you know, that's always going to add some fire to you. I mean, they look good, but, you know, J.J., man, they got them, he got them playing on
Starting point is 00:18:15 a different type of level right now. Their energy, just everybody. So I'm more impressed just with the team and how the Lakers are just becoming that team again that L.A. knows. You said something nice about J.J. knows. He said something nice about JJ. He did say something nice about him? I apologized yesterday to JJ because I wasn't familiar with his, you know, I wasn't familiar with the way he got things going. So I'm like, you know, I'm impressed right now. I ain't got
Starting point is 00:18:35 nothing bad to say. And then last one, Lylees Kenyon. No, you're not a Lakers fan. You made that very clear. He sound like he's singing today, boy. But what'd you think about Luka in his first game against the Mavericks? 9-2. That's great. What did you think about Luka's performance in his first game against the Dallas Mavericks, the team that traded him?
Starting point is 00:18:51 Called him fat. Lazy. What happened? You were at the game. We were in the stadium. Was I? Oh, I was there. I really wasn't watching.
Starting point is 00:18:59 He was watching. I really wasn't watching, to be honest. You seemed very locked in. Yeah, to the conversations that I was having among staff. Right? You did have a hard time. I was watching. He was watching. I really wasn't watching, to be honest. You seemed very locked in. Yeah, to the conversations that I was having amongst staff. I was having real-life conversations amongst shit that was going on.
Starting point is 00:19:13 So I really... No, but it's... Yeah, the player gets your old team. I'll go that route. The player gets your old team, right? Yeah, the player gets your old team. I'll go that route. The player gets your old team, right? Yeah, the player gets your old team, the emotions of it. In the middle of the season is crazy, right? Me going from the Nets to the Nuggets
Starting point is 00:19:35 and then the first facing them again, it was during the offseason, but I couldn't imagine if it happened during the season. You're this guy for that team, and they... Yeah, I just couldn't imagine if it happened during the season. And you're this guy for that team and they, yeah, I just couldn't imagine. You know what I'm saying? But you won't, like Nick said, you want to play well. You want to always have the upper hand in the situation when you're facing the guys who got rid of you.
Starting point is 00:19:57 When you thought that situation was going to be a long-term situation for you, for that not to be a thing and to have to face those the people that did it right Niko's in the building and so it's Cuban and you got to get Niko credit for showing up to like so some guys would have set up in the suite I would able to set in the back right he was writing prime time so that there's a lot about him like I'm gonna stand on This right so that's yeah, right He can stand lot about him. Like, I'm going to stand on this, right? So that's, right? He can stand on glass all he want.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I'm with you, but. So I was thinking about it, right? So you, if, I hate the word, but Anthony Davis is healthy and. Oh, yeah, that's a better game. I'm thinking about long term. I'm not even thinking about just this one game. I'm thinking about long term. I'm not even thinking about just this one game. I'm thinking about long term. What did you trade? So you traded
Starting point is 00:20:49 Your today and your future. I'm talking about just that yes, but You traded assists for rebounds and blocks right because the points But blocks right because the points yeah it isn't but Luca creates assists for absolutely and there's gonna be more than a DS output yes mm-hmm on the offensive end absolutely mm-hmm but the totality of the game I don't think Dallas lost they actually did because in the totality of the game, what Anthony Davis brings... No, you didn't lose. What Anthony Davis brings for him just to match Lucas' offensive output...
Starting point is 00:21:35 It's just 37. His 37. His defensive output has to be six blocks a game. It's more than that. It ain't just the blocks. I think they don't need that. Because it's deterring actual buckets. No, Gil, but it's deterring. six blocks a game just to eat more than that it ain't just the box i think that no yeah because it's deterring actual buckets no no but it's being able to switch pick and rolls it's being able to it ain't just see so you only looking at the statistical part of it like that's the only
Starting point is 00:21:55 thing you're looking at it's more to the game than just stats yes but what i'm saying is you play for the surface part of it yeah so the surface part yeah but what you're saying is, for the surface part of it... Yeah, so the surface part, yeah. But you're saying yes. But there's an underlying shit to that, too, to basketball. That shit that people don't see that Anthony Davis brings to the table. When healthy, when he's out there, you are a better basketball team. You are overall, no matter what team you're on,
Starting point is 00:22:24 no matter what he's on, they're a better basketball team with Anthony Davis on the floor. You guys got better with what Luka brings to the table, yes. But what Dallas needed is they needed, they don't have a big that can score. They don't have a big that can knock down jump shots. They don't have a big that, they had bigs that could score. They don't have a big that could knock down jump shots. They don't have a big that, they had bigs that could rebound, maybe block a shot,
Starting point is 00:22:48 but they wasn't versatile on the perimeter, being able to guard different positions, being, having that winning experience. Gafford don't have that. Lively don't have that.
Starting point is 00:22:57 So he brings that to the table. You're thinking, you're thinking his defense, what he brings defensively, switching and all that, can take up for all of the offense that loses. No, I'm not saying that, Gil.
Starting point is 00:23:11 But Kyrie could. I'm not saying that. Kyrie has to be Kyrie. He's going to be him. He did that last night. But remember, Luka does Luka too, with Kyrie doing Kyrie. There's nothing Anthony Davis can do to match the whole game. He didn't have his game last night.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Who's saying match? It looked like they were the first one if AD was playing. Who are the ones? Who's trying to match it? Last night. You have to for him. Who's trying to match it? It's a different style of players, different players.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Anthony Davis being in Dallas and being healthy is going to help them. Yeah, for sure. You can't say that he's not. Right, no, right. Anthony Davis being in Dallas and being healthy is going to help them. You can't say that it's not. Right, no, right. If you know basketball like I think you do and you're honest with yourself, you can't sit on this fucking couch and tell me that him being healthy not going to help that team. It looks dangerous when he's playing. It's not.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Huh? It's not. Because you're losing two birds with one stone. You're losing two birds with one stone. You're losing Lucas output Yes, that that we watched him give all these people wide open shots not contested Butt-naked shots right as black and mild said butt naked wide open shots That's a whole different and you gotta make them right but it's still why I still gotta make them move He can have to make them say no passes to them son of bitches y'all got on y'all team right now. Who?
Starting point is 00:24:28 Who? Vando, Black and Black, all them motherfuckers wide open, right? Yeah. He can make them same fucking passes. And some of them motherfuckers can't hit their ass with both hands. Okay. But what I'm saying is they're wide open. Dallas, P.J. Washington, and all,
Starting point is 00:24:45 they had wide open last year. They don't have wide open this year. That's why P.J. Washington can go zero because the game changed for his style. And it's going to go... So you don't think it's going to change ADL? So hold on.
Starting point is 00:24:59 You act like this. Who's coaching this team? No one doubles AD. Who's coaching this team in Dallas? It's a his team. No one doubles AD, right? Okay. Who's coaching his team in Dallas? It's a motherfucker that knows the game of basketball, right? Yeah, very well. This is my point guard I had. One thing for sure I know about him, he going to put that boy on the block,
Starting point is 00:25:16 and he going to throw him the ball, and he ain't going to deviate from it. So therefore, they get in the penalty. There's a lot to this. You don't get in the penalty. They will with the coach deal. AD's the four. Goddamn, dude.
Starting point is 00:25:26 AD's the four. You act like these motherfuckers not being coached with. I mean, you're talking about a bad squad. So you said AD wasn't coached well in LA to be able to do that? I guess you can go from one coach and you should turn around jump shots. Yes, he can put a battery in your back. And then you go to another coach and then you automatically become the honest. He can put a battery in your back.
Starting point is 00:25:45 So you don't think he can't, listen, this is what this man used to tell me, if I'm posting up in a certain, fuck that, get your ass on the block. Right? I was there when he coached Giannis. Right? I'm hearing the message
Starting point is 00:26:01 that J-Kid is telling this boy. This is what... It's the totality of it, Gil. It ain't just the scoring part that you want to... The scoring and assists are that. Yes. Absolutely. The Lakers will benefit if they are making shots.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Let's see. Y'all scored 107 points last night, which ain't fucking that remarkable. Emotional game. Right? No, but if they don't matter. Y'all scored 107. You don't think AD playing in his right position
Starting point is 00:26:29 ain't going to be good for Dallas? It ain't like y'all shooting the lights out with this motherfucker giving y'all wide open shots. AD playing in his right position ain't going to be good for Dallas? That's like a Laker team when he played the four and they won a championship. You're talking about a Dallas squad
Starting point is 00:26:40 that's missing Derrick Lively? We're talking about just for this year. Because what happens, because it's Kyrie happens is Kyrie can opt out, right? He can come to the Lakers. He ain't going nowhere. You don't think Kyrie will leave? No. Nah, they're going to pay him everything.
Starting point is 00:26:52 He's not going anywhere. He's in a situation where them people believe in him, love him, treat him a certain way. It ain't them other spots. Yeah. He look happy. They letting that man be him. They ain't fucking with him.
Starting point is 00:27:04 They letting him play basketball uninterrupted without all the hoot. Living in a great fucking city. But do they get back to the finals? Tax free? You don't think they get to the finals? But do you think they get back to the finals? Who's creating the double team? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I don't think the, I don't know. Who creates the double team? I don't know. Who creates the double teams on Dallas Mavericks? Yeah, they score. to get the open shots? To get the wide open shots for the statues that they have built a team around? Who's going to get those guys open shots off of double teams? So that's the whole, let me ask you a question.
Starting point is 00:27:43 So that's the only way guys can get shots is off double teams, Gil? So you can't call plays and run action for guys to get wide open shots? The only way that you can get wide open shots in a basketball game is for somebody to be double teamed? For the team that they have...
Starting point is 00:27:59 I didn't ask you that. We're talking about that team. So the only way that they can get shots if someone... If one person is double teamed, the only way that they can get shots, if one person is double teamed, the only way that they can get shots. How many plays did P.J. Washington get yesterday? I didn't watch the game, so I couldn't fucking tell you. Zero? You watched it? Zero? Zero?
Starting point is 00:28:17 I couldn't fucking tell you. But answer my question. How many plays? I'm talking about that team. The team was built around this player being double teamed. So answer my question. You haven't answered my question. I'm answering your question for this. You haven't answered my question.
Starting point is 00:28:31 It's a yes or no question. The team was built around this man being double teamed. It's a yes or no question. So I got players who didn't dribble the ball. They just sit and shoot shots. It's a yes or no question. Now that means this man, when he catches the ball, he hit his own shot. Everybody got that.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Was P.J. Washington a catch-and-shoot guy before he got to Dallas? No. Was Max, the guy y'all just got, he's not a catch-and-shoot guy. He's a playmaker. He puts the ball on the ground. Najee Marshall is not a catch-and-shoot guy. He's put the ball on. So what are you saying? So you still ain't answering
Starting point is 00:29:04 my fucking question. It's put the ball on. So what are you saying? So you still ain't answering my fucking question. You won't, dog. It's the only way. No. It's the only way. Answer the question. This don't even matter. Answer the question.
Starting point is 00:29:11 The history. Answer the question. You still ain't answering the question. The reason it doesn't matter is because. You still ain't answering the question. Right now it's just our opinions. And then there has to be a final product. I would just wait till the final product.
Starting point is 00:29:22 He asked me to get to the final product. I said, I don't know. So therefore. I said no. So therefore. I said, I don't know. So therefore... I said no. So therefore I said I don't know. So you don't know what it is. So therefore... So I'm saying, I'm going on record saying no. Cool. So don't go to the finals this year.
Starting point is 00:29:34 I'm right. Cool. Go to the finals. Wait, you said this year. I didn't say I'm right. I didn't say they would. I said I don't know. I don't know who's going to the finals. Don't nobody know who's going to the fucking finals. So therefore, go, Gil. It's the only way in basketball to get a shot is for someone to be double teamed. For guys who can't create their own shots.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I'm like, who's going to? That's the only way. When is he coming back? For someone to be double teamed. They big. That's what I'm saying. If you can't create your own shots, you can't dribble. To get a swing, swing, someone has to be double-teamed.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Someone has to be double-teamed. If you don't have play. So penetration in the lane and guys come in and don't create. So that's a double-team? No. No, that's fucking not. So someone is right. It's penetration.
Starting point is 00:30:18 It's penetration. So therefore, the answer to the question is no. So therefore, guys can get wide-open shots other than someone being double-teamed. So who's driving that someone is? They have plenty of guys to drive the ball. Kyrie Irving drives the ball. Yes. Therefore, someone will help and someone will get a fucking wide open shot because they had to.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I literally watched PJ. Because the only person I pay attention to is the guys who were corner guys. Are they going to get the same look? PJ Tucker. I mean, PJ Washington. We've seen it. One game. We've seen it. One game. Right get the same look? P.J. Tucker, I mean, P.J. Washington, we've seen it. One game. We've seen it. One game.
Starting point is 00:30:48 We've seen him benefit. Yesterday. All it usually takes is one situation, one player, one coach going to change someone else's. But they've been playing without moving. So we have corner guys like who? Who's our corner guys? Black and Mild. Black and Mild.
Starting point is 00:31:03 You saw India yesterday. Rui, what's the next? And we literally... Were you watching the game or were you not watching? But the thing is, we literally seen... We literally seen... Won't play when it matters. We've watched...
Starting point is 00:31:16 We've watched Luka drive. I'm saying none of them go play when it matters. We watched Luka drive. When the game's on the line, I'm going to play. The attention... The attention that he causes. We saw it last night. We watched like a leg drive when the games on the line. I'm gonna play Attention the attention that he causes we saw last night. Yes. Yes. Yes. All that is true Gives the guys who are meant just to be spot of shooters open shots. So you don't have those guys are Vandos a spot up shoe. Oh
Starting point is 00:31:44 I'm just saying but It's online. None of my folks gonna be on the field. Mm-hmm it. I'm just saying, but when it's online, none of the motherfuckers gonna be on the field. So, gonna be six, seven guys, seven guys gonna play when this shit gets big. So, Blank and Mild have been playing solid. That's now, that's when this shit matters. Okay, when it matters, when it matters, it's gonna be seven, maybe eight guys playing.
Starting point is 00:32:02 So, we're not gonna talk if the Mavs can make the finals or all that stuff, but we did ask the chat, are the Mavs a better team with AD? 65% say yes. Question for you guys, the Mavs, not at full strength right now. Derek Lively's been out for a minute. You said 65%? 65% in the chat.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Think the Mavs are a good team? Damn, a better team. Not a good team, just a better team. But this was a move designed for now, right? So how much pressure is on Nico Harrison and this Mavs organization looking at the fallout, the pissed off Mavs fans that are out there
Starting point is 00:32:29 for this team to be successful? And you talk about Kyrie does have the ability to opt out this summer. Loves Dallas. But if things go left, there's always that ability
Starting point is 00:32:38 for him to now go test the waters. Dallas, great city. Los Angeles, great city as well. Yeah. No taxes. Okay. Get to keep Moses most you to keep his bread When do I mean both of them?
Starting point is 00:32:48 I mean if Dallas needed a big this is this is a good move for Dallas for the long term Like like like he's gonna come back. We don't know cuz he's on like we We all sit here hypothermic thing like working out before me healthy this that that there we all know the track We all know what it's been. That was big with him, though. No, for sure. That's a big-ass team. But is he healthy?
Starting point is 00:33:13 What do you feel about the – look, I'm not saying the Mavs are going to go fine. What do you feel about this Mavs squad? It wasn't like – they gave up Luka. That's a humongous loss. We're not taking anything away from that. But being able to add AD, let Kyrie take over as the number one option. You still got Klay. Okay. If you watch the first game, when the trade happened, who did I say that I'm concerned about?
Starting point is 00:33:34 Kyrie, right? I said, is Kyrie going to go into point guard mode, stop being aggressive, and focused on Anthony Davis, which takes away who he is. And by the time he gets off, sometimes he's out of the game. That's what happens when he is focusing on someone. If you watch the first game, Kyrie didn't go off until Anthony Davis got hurt. Then he becomes the sole purpose now.
Starting point is 00:34:03 From there, he took one shot in the first quarter. That's not Kyrie with Luka. That's Kyrie with Anthony Davis because he feels Anthony Davis is the second option. He's the first option. So that's what I'm watching. So Kyrie's been balling now because he's by himself so he can do what the fuck he wants to do.
Starting point is 00:34:24 What happens when Anthony Davis comes the fuck he wants to do what happens when andy davis comes here and he has to play and kairi not gonna ball with it no i think he's gonna defer to ball but he's gonna defer like he's gonna defer too much and take away what he's great at but we also know ad will be first so we said the same thing on the topic matter of fact but he didn't play so we said the same thing that we want kairi to be played so we said the same thing we won't copy him Yeah, but Gil so the first game that they played together they played one game, right? Mm-hmm You don't think that that was the good on that was the game plan That's the game plan the first game that he's dead Anthony Davis there you don't think that was the game plus the game plan. The first game that he's there, Anthony Davis is there. You don't think that was the game plan?
Starting point is 00:35:05 If that's the game plan, then it's a horrible game plan. It was that game plan, Gil. I don't know. I can only go off of that. So how many... Anthony Davis got off early when this first game happened, right? How many points did he have early? 24 and a half.
Starting point is 00:35:17 24. That... So you don't think that was the game plan, Gil, for Kyrie? They went out for that game, Gil. Not overall. I can only go off of one game. And they went well. 24.
Starting point is 00:35:27 For that game. 24 for him. Yes. No, you got to reel them in. I said the same thing about you, when it came to Luka. 24 for him. What did Kyrie have? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:36 And then at halftime, what does Kyrie and Luka have by the half? It's one game, Gil. I can only go off of one game. So I can't make up what's not there. So, what are you saying? I said it before. What do you want to be right about, Gil? I said it before the game. Gil, what would you like to be right about?
Starting point is 00:35:53 Did I not say it before the game? We said the same thing. I am watching for Kyrie and Kyrie only. If he's going off one game, Luka was terrible his first game. Yeah, so fuck it. I've watched Kyrie for a long time. He wants to be right about something, Nick. Please help guy. Yeah, so fuck it. I've watched Kyrie for a long time. He wants to be right about something, Nick. Please help him.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Please help him be right about something right now. I was 26 as a second, third option. Because he's struggling. I watched him go as a first option in average 24 and struggle in that situation. Then I seen him leave, become a second, third option in average 27. So I'm trying to figure
Starting point is 00:36:27 Do I Number one option order 27 number two option Okay, and I called it before and it happened in the game. So that's all I can go off of I can't go hypotheticals They like to win hypothetical Conversation No, no hypotheticals they like to win hypothetical conversations that doesn't exist all right we said ad is no no no no wait so it's not good at all so if the game plan was to get ad going right early yeah so so is this the game plan going we don't know so i can only i don't know i know so when ad come back is it gonna be all right come on let's go
Starting point is 00:37:01 we will see but First game there let's get this let's show the fans what we have Let's feature him and moving forward. We don't know what it is cuz the motherfucker ain't played Okay, cool. So therefore therefore I'm bang for one game if you got it I can only go off the fucking F. I can't go off of anything else. So what was the F? What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:37:32 What do you want to be right today? Kyrie in the first quarter was an F to his normal production. So it couldn't have been that they were going to throw him the ball every time? You want me to call Jared Dudley? I don't care what the game plan was. So why don't you care? So you want to go on facts again, right? So I'm going to call the assistant coach,
Starting point is 00:37:49 and I'm going to get what the game plan was, Anthony Davis' first game, and then we'll go from there. I hope he picks up on the first ring. How about that? Let's go from there. If you call me, first ring picker. Let's go from there. What was my concern?
Starting point is 00:38:01 I said the same thing you did, Gil. What was my concern? I said the same thing you did. Kyrie's going to be. I said the same thing you did, Gil. What was my concern? Kyrie. Kyrie. Kyrie's gonna be... Which version of Kyrie are you gonna get? I said the same thing you did, Gil. So, if...
Starting point is 00:38:10 Gil, I said the same thing you did about this. If Luka and Kyrie have a production in the first quarter, this one game. Of these years, and then Anthony Davis and Kyrie comes. Years versus one game. I wanna see what the production is. Years versus one game, Gil. I'm only going off of one game. So you said, but you just said years. So I'm saying... You said is. Years versus one game game. I'm only going off of one game. So you said, but you just said years.
Starting point is 00:38:28 You said years of production versus one game. I'm saying the production I've seen in the first quarter. That could have been the game plan. I don't care what the game plan was. Why not? I can only grade it. Why can't you, why you don't care about the game plan if that's the game plan? Because my concern has nothing to do with the game plan.
Starting point is 00:38:44 My concern has to do with the person. That's why I made the, that's why I made the assessment. The person was part of the game plan if that's the game plan? Because my concern has nothing to do with the game plan. My concern has to do with the person. That's why I made the assessment. The person was a part of the game plan. That's why I made the assessment. So the person was a part of the game plan, was he not? I made the assessment off of what? Anthony Davis having 24. No, didn't care about Anthony Davis. One game.
Starting point is 00:38:57 I'm going off of Kyrie. We're talking about Anthony Davis here. Kyrie's style of play. And the game plan, we said the same thing, Gil. I don't care about the game plan. Gil, we said when same thing, Gil. I don't care about the game plan. Gil, we said, when the trade went down, me and you said the exact same thing about Kyrie Irving. We want him to play a certain way.
Starting point is 00:39:14 We said the exact same thing. Okay. The exact same thing. So what do you grade his first quarter prediction? I didn't watch the fucking game. What do you grade it compared to? I don't give it a grade. I'm not here to grade this shit.
Starting point is 00:39:28 You can't go off of one game. I'm not here to fucking grade their performances, Gil, because I don't give a fuck. He's going off one game because when it comes back, it's going to go back to that again. Well, let's talk about no off of one game. I can know the boy had 24 points in the first half, right? 90% of the time.
Starting point is 00:39:44 That I do know. the boy had 24 points in the first half, right? 90% of the time. That I do know. He had 20. My logic being in the NBA told me that they threw him the ball a lot early. I didn't have to watch the game to know that if he had 24 points early, he was aggressive and they threw him the fucking ball a lot. I don't need to know what it was or who didn't shoot the ball or what. He had 24 early. He was aggressive.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Who are you talking about? The fucking team. Whoever threw him the goddamn ball, Gil, whether it was Kyrie, PJ, fucking Jason Kidd, the referee on the free throw, somebody threw him the motherfucking ball for him to shoot it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:25 He didn't throw it to his goddamn self. He didn't spin that bitch out like he working out and then spin back to him and he opened up. He didn't do none of that shit. Somebody passed him the ball, whether it was Kyrie, whether they drew up a play for him, whether he got an offensive rebound,
Starting point is 00:40:41 the ref passed it to him. Some way, somehow, Anthony Davis got his hands on the fucking basketball game. The basketball that scored 24 points. I don't know how it got there. I didn't watch it. So, I don't... I'm...
Starting point is 00:40:54 What you're saying, they threw it to him. Yes. Fuck, I don't know. I'm saying I'm watching Kyrie's production. Yeah, why Kyrie isn't being aggressive? So, I'm saying... I'm saying Kyrie's production. Yeah, why Kyrie isn't being aggressive? So I'm saying, I'm saying Kyrie usually produces this for this team to be a certain way. So if they want to feature Anthony Davis now and Kyrie plays a docile role, I'm saying that is not going to be a winning situation. Kyrie needs to be a killer how he always is. I can only go off of one thing.
Starting point is 00:41:29 I can't go off of fantasy of something that's not happening. Well, I think we're talking too much about the losing team. Let's talk about a winning situation. Who? There's 26, bro. And we agreed on the same fucking thing.
Starting point is 00:41:45 What the fuck are you talking about? Y'all are here talking about this. He's 26, bro. And we agreed on the same fucking thing. What the fuck are you talking about? In the finals? Y'all are just talking, man. No, he wasn't the killer last year. I think we spent enough time talking about the losers of the game. Let's focus back on the winning team. And specifically, their 40-year-old superstar. Lakers are 15-4 in their last 19 games.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Best record in the league in that span. They were 25 last year. What the fuck are you talking about? Again, Lakers are 15-4 in their last 19 games. Best record in the league in that span. They were average 25 last year. What the fuck are we talking about? Again, Lakers are 15-4 in their last 19 games, best record in the league in that span. In the 18 games LeBron has played in that time frame, he's averaging 27 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, 54-41, 78 shooting splits. But after the win over the Mavs, Lakers head coach J.J. Redick had high praise for what the 40-year-old is doing on the defensive side of the ball. This is not an exaggeration. If you watch our basketball team every night, and you've watched our team now for the last six weeks or so,
Starting point is 00:42:33 LeBron is playing at an all-NBA defense level. He is. And now, you know, people may have perceptions of what he is as a defender. I watch it every night. Uh, he doesn't get scored on in isolation when, if teams do try to target him. Um, he blows plays up. He's always in the right position, shifting, recovering. He, you know, I think there was this perception of him at this age, like,
Starting point is 00:43:05 conserving energy. No. There's no conservation of energy on that end of the floor. He's played elite defense now for a while. Stop it, JJ. Because somebody's going to go get the clip of this motherfucker not running back on defense and shit regularly now. Let's stop it.
Starting point is 00:43:22 But the best defense is a good offense, can't you? As we know. Because there was a play last night where them motherfuckers took the shot at the ball twice and hit across half court. Gil told them to stay back. We don't know if that was in the game plan. Gil told them to stay back.
Starting point is 00:43:34 We don't know if that was the game plan, Kenyon. That was in the game plan. That was a defensive strategy to create offense. They thought about going that motherfucker. He took one more step. They shot it. They missed. He took one more step. They shot it. He missed. He took one more step. He like, man, they got it.
Starting point is 00:43:48 JJ, continuing to glaze LeBron as a young kid, say, but how impressive has LeBron been on both sides of the ball this season? 40 years old, year 22. Talk about that game last night. Had 11 points going into the fourth quarter. 16 points in the fourth, 7-9. But let's talk about the defensive side. There was one play, one instance.
Starting point is 00:44:05 He's smarter than everybody. That helps, bro. What play? Like, being smarter than everybody out there. You don't, he doesn't, he put himself in good positions to make plays defensively, right? When you, so the old saying goes, smarter not harder, right?
Starting point is 00:44:24 If I'm smarter than y'all, on that, I don't have to work as hard. So it's that simple for him, right? I'm not going to go out there and try to guard the best guy all the time. If I need to switch on him, yeah, I'm going to guard him, but I'm not going to be in help mode. I'm going to be talking. I'm going to point. I'm going to orchestrate. A lot of that is that with him. You know what I'm saying? guard him, but I'm not going to be in help mode. I'm going to be talking. I'm going to point. I'm going to orchestrate.
Starting point is 00:44:47 A lot of that is that with him. You know what I'm saying? Teaching. Yeah, but you can talk your way through a lot of defense's possessions, man. If you vocal, that go a long way. You can be wrong spot, but you talking, it helps. If J.J. sees it and they watch film, and if it's that for him, that's what it is, man.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Praise LeBron for leading by example, because that's what they need. That sounds like... Especially for the new guy. Sounds like some expert analysis coming from somebody who actually watched the game last night. No. In the Gills Arena suite. I thought you were about to show a clip or something. No, you were talking about the clip that I was talking about.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Because what JJ's talking about, you can't watch the game and know what he's talking about, so you're going to just pull out a bunch of plays that shows, you know, LeBron not going back on, on defense. A couple plays here and there, but for the most part, we know that a defensive player don't get credit for
Starting point is 00:45:46 Stopping a play that's trying to happen. Yeah, because obviously The people who are voting for these awards don't know what the office of plays is to know what this player actually did Right. So if you know I'm doing chain out fifth or chin out reverse something and then you pre-rotate over and bust it all up now i got to go to a second option because you done read the play they don't credit you for that right so you know if you know the coach is saying that he stops a lot of plays only the team knows that because they know the playbook that what dallas is trying to do or what everybody's trying to do all we're doing is just watching it's oh he got back door. He's not there. You know what I mean? The man is in year what?
Starting point is 00:46:29 22. There's not one play, not one situation, not one that he hasn't seen or been in. It was the Tom Brady thing. There was no defense that you could have threw at Tom Brady that he ain't fucking seen. Or Floyd.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Right? There's nothing that he ain't seen. Tom Brady considered the GOAT? Yeah, absolutely. And, no, so therefore, no, it's, like, it just, once this is in tune with the game and you see it, like, the game is so slow for him. Like, the game is, like, he's moving fast, but the game is so slow for him. Like the game is, like he's moving fast,
Starting point is 00:47:05 it seem like, but the game is really in slow motion for him. Yeah, there's three players last night that's playing in slow motion. Kyrie, Luka, and LeBron. LeBron ain't doing nothing but guarding the asses person on each team. He's a four man guard and asses person on each team. Not sure. He's a four-man guarding the asses person on each team. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I'm sorry. He's like me at the loop in my 35 and older. So what is your job? Defenders get the good people get the good people. And I get the asses people. So playing the asses. Good defenders get the good people. And I get the asses person.
Starting point is 00:47:39 So when you play the asses. I get rebounds and shoot, do what I do. So when you play the asses. So LeBron is a four-man. Ain't no four-mans in the league that he got to really worry about now but AD. AD wasn't out there, so you have to guard him. You have to guard fucking... Who was the four-man for their team last night?
Starting point is 00:47:57 Najee Muhammad was the nigga's name? Yes, him. Yes, him. He don't have to guard nobody. It's true. It's good, though, to be at his age. He don't need to. Okay, so... But He don't have to guard nobody. It's true. It's good though to be at his age. He don't have to. He don't need to.
Starting point is 00:48:07 Okay, so. But he don't have to guard nobody. So again, when you're guard, when you're that person guarding that, those non-players, what is your actual job, Nick? To make sure everybody. Well, he got to rebound. To make sure everybody. He got to guard fucking P.J. Tucker.
Starting point is 00:48:22 I mean. So when he's guarding P. guarding PJ Tucker, what is it? PJ Tucker PJ Washington and He's got it. So what is this actual role? He none of these back doors and shit if he ain't worried about somebody on on the defensive end It's saying he shouldn't be getting back door and all that shit shouldn't happen before he got the guard somebody that Okay, let's just as a defensive player, right? It's a defense. I know you want to gas them up, but she ain't gonna buy it
Starting point is 00:48:48 Let me ask some actual somebody as a defensive player if they're putting you on a non-factor score What is your job? Oh, yeah, I'm right you're doing what I'm controlling controlling everything everything that means you're stopping I think he said it. You're stopping all plays. You're busting it up the plays because you don't have to worry about a man. So he's the net guy. He's the guy that they're trying to do something. He's blocking it. He's doing a 2.9.
Starting point is 00:49:17 He's here. He's calling out the defense. He becomes the roamer. So he just started doing that in these last couple games they won? No, he's been doing that. He's been doing that shit.. They won. I've been wrong. He's been doing that I've been doing this Lakers defense in his life He's been doing this one of the best in the league, but let's just start it look good now Let's talk about the Luka LeBron combo. I got was like a great defender right when Ben Wallace had to guard the primary
Starting point is 00:49:41 Score in the post. He's gonna get his ass busted in the post. Right? He's gonna get his ass busted in the post. When they bring Rasheed Wallace over and Rasheed took the lead, Ben Wallace became more dangerous defensively. We swept my Nets team. We got that broom out on said Pistons team. Without Rasheed Wallace,. Without Rasheed Wallace, they get Rasheed Wallace, they go win it.
Starting point is 00:50:08 They beat us and go... So, therefore, what he's saying is actual facts. Uh-oh. Okay. No, no, no. No, what he's saying is... Like, I don't beef. No, what I'm saying is, I want him guarding Antoine Jamison.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I don't want him guarding... Oh, yes. ...Jarrett Jeffries. Yes. Damn it. Because if't want him guarding Jared Jeffries. Because if he's guarding Jared Jeffries, he's sitting there trying to... He's stopping everything. He's way more dangerous. Because I'm in action all the time if I'm guarding Antoine.
Starting point is 00:50:35 I can say, okay, let's do the pick and roll. Let's fuck with him. Get me out of the play. He's going to sit at the rim waiting. You can't do this backdoor. Hey, backdoor. Back door. Switch it. Like, oh, God damn.
Starting point is 00:50:47 They're getting real into something. I just said, hey, man, deny that. Just take the fucking player away. That's what the people don't realize. Michael Jordan, if you listen to B.J. Armstrong, they said Michael Jordan's problem was what? Chasing balls around. Like, coming and following his player.
Starting point is 00:51:05 No diddy balls. Yeah, because he's a ball watcher. Yeah, right. Watching balls. He was a ball watcher. He's watching them nuts. He's tracking the offense. So he was great at stealing, right?
Starting point is 00:51:17 Snapping back. He was horrible guarding someone like Reggie Miller. Coming off the pick and roll. That wasn't his skill. His skill was locking everything down, closing up. That's why Pippen and Rodman went there. Got you. Right?
Starting point is 00:51:31 So when you talk about somebody like AI, the problem with AI was because he was little, he was a ball watcher. So when you're throwing passes, you're worrying about where AI was. Right? You throw it into the post, AI ice coming somewhere because you're not guarding anybody I don't you that's what I saw all guys just watching boss boss Well, so why is this why he had to say this about LeBron because everybody was talking about his bad defense Why do you have to come out and defend?
Starting point is 00:52:04 But let's just go this question being asked? About the team defense. That's what the media does. Somebody probably asked about the team defense. Ain't they, like, top ten in defense right now, too? I think in that 19-game span, I want to say one of the top ten. That's what I'm saying. If not number one.
Starting point is 00:52:17 Before this, where was they at on defense? Before they got Luka? Yeah. So he wasn't, like, the defender he was before. He's been in that defender for the longest. Let's shift it over to the Luka-LeBron combo. Brandon, I want to ask you, is the Luka-Bron chick the scariest duo in the league right now?
Starting point is 00:52:36 We haven't even seen Luka scratch the surface of what he can do. We saw it against the Nuggets when he burped Joker. The scariest duo? I mean, yeah, if you go through, yeah, with LeBron's knowledge and with Luka's game and what they both bring to the table, yeah. A slender-looking Luka, went to Cabo, worked out every day. Yeah, I definitely do. They're going to...
Starting point is 00:52:55 Because that's what you do when you go to Cabo. You know, he got LeBron James at 40 years old, but LeBron's still playing like, you know, he wants to play for a long time. And I'm just excited just to see them both, you know, play these next two years, see what happens. You say that... Analytic-wise, the production that those two bring into the game, probably.
Starting point is 00:53:23 I think they, if you go off of what Luka did last year in the playoffs, instead of not regular season 33-99, just his playoff numbers, he brings in about what, 50 something, so that'll put him in. LeBron had about 99 points created in the game. Behind that is Jokic and Murray because both have high level assists. So you're talking about Jokic averaging 10 and the point guard averaging about 6-7. I mean that's damn near 40 something points, 50 something points in just assists alone. So... I don't know. Yeah, but Brown only had three last night so I was gonna ask
Starting point is 00:54:08 that so how is that gonna work right say like because I'm just think about the assist factor right with what you said I guess so just really got to be making shots though between the two of them, just like Jokic, right? Between the two, anywhere from 17 to 20, from your two top players, and they're averaging 20, you're at 90 points created by those two. Right? So that's hard. Yeah, they got to make shots.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Damon Giannis. I was going to say Damon Giannis, maybe. You know, it all depends. Taylor McBride. I say Taylor McBride. No, because one, they don't get to the free throw line. Jalen Brunson and Cat. Jalen Brunson and Cat.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Oh, no. That's a good one. It's the assist that changes the output of something. Right? That those assists is two to three points. Right? assists that changes the output of something, right? That those assists is two to three points, right? So if someone has 10 assists, right, you're talking 20 points to 30 points. On the low end. You know, to 30 on the high end.
Starting point is 00:55:19 So you're talking about 24 points. So if he scores 24 and he has, you know, 10 assists, that's 48 points created by that one individual. Those are what's not factored into some of these things. So I would say right now they're going to be probably the most dangerous because 100% you actually have to double Luka. Right? So the fact that you are doubling Luka, full double on Luka, you're leaving LeBron James open.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Which we saw last night. Which we saw last night. Why would you double that? Because there's Luka down there. So the fact that he gets fully doubled means you're really playing four and five. And the last five, I can see there's going to be a problem with some of the teams if they're not smart enough. When they have Reeves, LeBron, Luka, Black and Mild, right, and Rui,
Starting point is 00:56:21 you got five shooters and everybody's over six eight that that's not a small team That's they're not a small team during fitness move for shooting But if they game plan the early him over really we're gonna get another year, but they game plan the right way He's only playing Like you know, but they've been we've shown for you one. They are fighting. That's okay. So he's doing Just a lineup You got you got to put your point guard on what Austin Reeves. Yeah. Mm-hmm. We know how aggressive he gets He's foul baiter your shooting guard on Luca. He's going straight to the post
Starting point is 00:57:11 Right now if you're coming off of them, you're coming off somebody who gonna hit a jumper That was that was Denver when he won a championship when they had the shooters Right, then you got your dunker ACP inP in it. Right? And, you know, you got to double Jokic, right? So you're sitting here in this game that they're playing. And watching Dallas last night, if I'm J.K. I don't think I'm going to try to stop Luka from doing what Luka's going to do to us. Right? It's like...
Starting point is 00:57:50 You got to win a double team. Right? I'm not double teaming him. Like, I know I don't want him to score the fucking 60 that he's trying to score. But it's not like we're guarding Allen Iverson or someone who is not going to give his teammates the ball. Right? So the fact that he's like, well, I'll get 20 assists. Fuck it.
Starting point is 00:58:11 That's 60 points. Right? So I will say, all right, look, good luck. But we're going to play straight up. We're not going to double him. If he goes out and hits 50, that's a better chance than allowing this motherfucker to sit here, fake it, do all this shit wide open. Come off LeBron, fuck it, James. Wide open. I don't, I can't hit 50 that's a better chance then allowing this motherfucker to sit here fake it do all this shit Yeah wide open come off LeBron fucking James wide open. I don't I can't it's hard to how fight human instincts out there I know it I'm like and I'm I'm saying like you know what let's just get this shit over with Luca do you right because it's the more you fuck around and don't let the guy try to be and
Starting point is 00:58:42 He's not too. He's not selfish enough to not just let the game come to him listen jimmy listen that jimmy buller and uh steph curry too though they five healthy ad i think it's another it's man it's these three it's these three combos man like back back when we played as kobe shack you know what i mean you jk it's these three fucking combo like it's pieces is it's the three fucking combo. Pieces is... It's the three combos. Like, Draymond is a big factor too. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Yeah, that's right. Like, I'm... Man, B was... Like, as far as duo, you can't leave KD and Book out this motherfucking conversation. Yeah. And we're gonna talk about... We're talking about duo. I know they ain't winning.
Starting point is 00:59:20 I know they ain't doing what they supposed to as a team. Because Williams ain't ready. But two really... Yeah, it was 21. Duo? Yeah, them two really good. Man, but you just sit here when someone's like, yo, is this the best four? The fact that you said best four from the Lakers
Starting point is 00:59:34 and you're sitting here like, man, they fucking four people now? Right? That's that important because of Boston. Your fourth option is a gold medal winner, right? No, it's not. Kind of. Because they have five players, not four.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Porzingis is the third. Drew Holiday and White is four and five. One's a defensive player. One's an all-star. One's a defensive player. One's a... player. One's an all-star. One's a defensive player. One's a... It's fuck! If they got Jalen Brown out there joint, Drew Holiday
Starting point is 01:00:11 and Derek White out there, it's a problem. It's a problem. It's a shit problem. We may see that problem come true. And that's why it's important. That's why when you're constructing these teams, it's your third and fourth, huh? Who LeBron going to go out here?
Starting point is 01:00:27 We'll worry about that in June. We'll worry about that in June. So we asked to chat, are Luke and LeBron the NBA's best duo? 64% said yes. Let's keep this thing moving. Talk some more basketball. He's going to guard you and be in help all day. You crazy as hell.
Starting point is 01:00:41 So we'd like to give a shout out. Because they can't put Jay LeBron in the post for one. First of all, who's going to guard? Who's going to guard? You saying LeBron's going to guard Jaylen Brown? Yeah, because he's always on the weak side. But you got to remember, you got to flip it around, right? You got to flip it around.
Starting point is 01:00:59 And you got two guards that's 6'4", going against two guys who's six reasons what six six now listen You're gonna have another finals MVP man Okay, you ain't gonna LeBron Let's keep it moving you know what time it is Look at the timepiece. Starting point is 01:02:54 The list of notable players ineligible for awards due to games missed includes Luka, John Morant, Victor Wamba Wamba, Kawhi, Joel Embiid,
Starting point is 01:03:02 and Jimmy Butler. But I want to go around the couch quickly. You have five minutes. Who would be your All-NBA first team if the season ended today? Who's going to run? First team? First team All-NBA if the season ended today,
Starting point is 01:03:17 based on players who were eligible. Tate. OK. Nikola, Shay, Giannis, and Jalen Brunson. Nicola, Shay, Tatum, Giannis, and Jalen Brunson. Let's move on to Mr. B, Brandon Jennings. Wearing the AI jacket. Very stylish.
Starting point is 01:03:41 I'm going to go Giannis, SGA, Jokic, Tatum. Donovan Mitchell. The Cavs' number one option. Your All-NBA first team? Yeah. Okay. Be the one. We've seen this shift.
Starting point is 01:04:00 Be the one. I'm with you. Absolutely. We're already winning. I'm with you. Okay. I'm going to say Absolutely. Rewarding winning. I'm with you. Okay. I'm going to say Joker, Jason Tatum for sure. Shout out to Jason Tatum.
Starting point is 01:04:13 Made everybody's list. I'll go Giannis and Mitchell. I'm with Mitchell as well. Okay. Last but not least, Mr. Gilbert Arenas. First team, I'm going to go Shea, Giannis, Jokic. Yes. Core three. LeBron James.
Starting point is 01:04:43 Gil, you're glazing. For sure. LeBron James. Gil, you're glazing. For sure. Make a cookie. Make a cookie. This. Fuck. The other double grip, not the Zion double grip that was referenced in the show yesterday.
Starting point is 01:04:58 The Zion double grip. You is ball chasing. You don't think LeBron potentially worthy of making an NBA first thing? Shea Tatum. No, Shea Yoki Giannis. He is. LeBron. I got one more.
Starting point is 01:05:13 One more. His best five players is not positionless. Positionless. As we know. I'm going to go... Mmm. I'm going to go... I'm going to go Donovan Mitchell. Okay, shout out Donovan Mitchell. Gave some love from the Gills Arena crew. Tatum champion. Me personally, I'm like, okay, well, you was the champs last year. Y'all sitting at third.
Starting point is 01:05:39 Second. No Tatum on your list, Gil. No. That's correct. They're sitting at second. You're the champs. Tatum leading the team, points three, bounties, six list, Gil. No. That's great. Just in that second, you're the champs. Tatum leading the team, points, rebounds, assists, steals, three-pointers made. Okay, cool, but we have a team that was in fifth last year. I skimmed it.
Starting point is 01:05:53 We've seen a team that was in fifth last year, and this man has them at one all year long. I mean, when we questioned him the first five games, 10 games, 15, 20, he's done kept it up. So I got a reward. He's answering the call. Him for doing what he's been doing. So Tatum get dropped. He get left out because. He's at mid-season.
Starting point is 01:06:15 I'm just saying. Mid-season? He's just mid-season right now. Is he going to finish first team Tatum? Of course. I know. Right now, but I get a chance. Good job.
Starting point is 01:06:23 Good save, Gil. I get a chance. But what I'm going to say, I get a chance. Good job. Good save, Gil. I get a chance. But what I'm saying is I get a chance to... Bitch, I didn't challenge your motherfucking list. I'm just challenging you. I didn't challenge your list. I didn't say nothing about your motherfucking list.
Starting point is 01:06:33 I appreciate your list. Milwaukee was in what? Third last year or fourth? Who? Milwaukee. Cool. Fifth now. Now, what place they in?
Starting point is 01:06:41 Third, fourth. We were talking about Milwaukee a little later. I was going to put LaMelo Ball up in that bitch. I was going to ask. I was going to ask. Don was gonna say lamello. That's what I was like. Yeah, I mean shit It is lamello, but I'm like I was gonna ask you to put jello balls brother. Let me give somebody I don't watch Some crap. That's that's what I really like, you know what miss you been out there motherfucker doing this thing quietly. Yeah, hey some ass up Let me give him some credit, because if I,
Starting point is 01:07:06 if, if, fuck all that, I want to say, Shay and LaMelo Ball, that bitch had the one-two. Hey, hey,
Starting point is 01:07:12 my partner told me to tell you, tell Gil, that clutch sports check hanging out his pocket is about to fall out. Don't drop it. Listen. Damn.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Listen, if Luka was playing, Shout out to MG, man. He wanted to say Luka. What I'm saying, I wanted to say Luka was playing... Shout out to MG, man. He wanted to say Luka. What I'm saying, I wanted to say Luka. I wanted to say Austin Reed. But I'm like, just... Austin Reed's bet.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Not far fetched, Gil. You know, he's 22. He's year 22. So I'm only giving... That's what I'm saying. I'm giving him credit because he's 22 doing this. I'm giving Donovan Mitchell holding his team number one the whole time.
Starting point is 01:07:46 I know, like, why he get disrespected so much? Okay, if I'm just go fuck all the records. Okay, fuck all the records. No, that's your team, though. The Mellow Ball and Shea at the 1-2. It's your team, though. I'm not questioning your team. Tatum at the 3, Giannis at the 4, and Jokic at the 5.
Starting point is 01:07:59 It's your team. So no SGA? No, SGA and LaMelo at the 1-2. Yeah. And he's still no SGA and LaMelo yeah okay now you show to the quality who who LaMelo also right on time so since you don't see the old ball about my rich yellow balls brother the Donovan Mitchell who shall remove LeBron James front Brian James put the check You can have your check back. Have your check back. Have your check back.
Starting point is 01:08:28 Shout out to Oral Watch for sponsoring the show. All right, let's keep this thing moving. I like this, though. I know, right? It's lightweight. It gets you out of the joint. Light, durable, stylish. Can work out with it.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Luxurious. I'll work out. So, Suns and Grizzlies, y'all stick together. You know what I'm saying? He over here talking, he can't even wear the watch. He can't even wear the watch, bro. Is your watch even on? Yes.
Starting point is 01:08:55 Is it snapped? Go like this. Put it on. Do like this. Put it on, Blaine. I did it. Do like this. Let's see if your shit snaps, huh?
Starting point is 01:09:04 It is snapped. Yeah. All right. Well, let's keep this thing moving. Okay, there we go. Good, good, good. Oh, hey, I hope, I hope. Hey, tell him to leave. We gonna be calling EMS.
Starting point is 01:09:12 We gonna be calling EMS in this motherfucker. He need that watch now. We'll be circulation. Your motherfucker hand gonna be blue. This motherfucker just gonna be sitting there just, Nick, catch this. So, Suns and Grizzlies are headed in opposite directions with Memphis holding down the second spot in the West while Phoenix is just trying to stay in playing contention.
Starting point is 01:09:31 But currently on the outside looking in, teams met up in Memphis Tuesday for a thriller, which ended up being the highest scoring game in the league this season. Let's take a look at some of the highlights, if we may. So, Suns had five players score 20 or more points in the game. First time Phoenix has accomplished that feat in more than 30 years.
Starting point is 01:09:48 Devin Booker led the Suns in scoring with 28 points, 12 for 20 from the field, also had 12 assists in the game. KD had 26 eight boards and seven dimes. Bradley Beal made his third straight start, had another solid game, 24 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds. Bo Bo had a season-high 23 points on an efficient 8 of 11 shooting. Grayson Allen came off the bench added 21 points going six for nine from deep but it was not enough. John Moran was playing with a
Starting point is 01:10:14 heavy heart after finding out his grandmother had passed away before the game. John had 29 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals but was 7 for 25 from the field. He did go 14 for 14 from the line, though. Before fouling out in the fourth quarter, Jaron Jackson Jr. put up 28 points on 11-13 shooting. He also had five rebounds and two blocks. Desmond Bain added 25 and nine assists, and Ricky Jalen Wells came through with 19 and five. Yo, go back.
Starting point is 01:10:37 Like, if nobody can stop Ja from doing that, why you shoot 12 threes, man? He was one for 12 from three yesterday. John Morant. Nobody in this league can stop you from getting to the paint. Why are you fourth? I just don't understand that. He shot 12. He was seven
Starting point is 01:10:56 for 25. He was seven for 25. He shot 12 for three. I know, but... 12 threes is a lot for him. It's a lot. They going under the screen, maybe? I don't know. I didn't watch that. Maybe they was going under the screen,
Starting point is 01:11:10 and you felt disrespected, or I... Could be. Let him shoot. You probably heard him. Yeah, let him... He shot 12 of them. He was one for 12. Let him shoot. All right, motherfucker. As we saw in the highlight...
Starting point is 01:11:21 Shot that motherfucker. All right. Suns are up by four. 16 seconds left in the game. Jha scored five straight straight points including a 17-foot floater send it to OT Sons were up for a game with a little over minutes ago in OT Grizzlies score seven straight points to seal the win 151 to 148 god bless offense teams combined for 299 points. Let's talk a little Grizzlies. Thank you Grizzlies three and four in our last seven games But at 30 and 20 this season tied with the Nuggets for second in the West they own the tiebreaker 99 points. Let's talk a little Grizzlies. What you thinking, Gil? Grizzlies, three and four in their last seven games,
Starting point is 01:11:45 but at 30 and 20 this season, tied with the Nuggets for second in the West. They own the tiebreaker, so they are in the second spot. Finished 13th in the West last season, but made three straight trips to the playoffs prior to that, but have not advanced past the second round in the Ja Morant era. So, got to ask the couch.
Starting point is 01:12:02 Are the Grizzlies for real or for good? Hell yeah. Hell yeah. We told y'all that before the season. What? That Memphis was going to be for real. Grizzlies are for real. Ja, I want to be the couch. Are the Grizzlies for real or for good? Hell yeah. Hell yeah. We told y'all that before the season. What? That Memphis was going to be for real. Grizzlies are for real. Y'all need revenge here.
Starting point is 01:12:10 I think he got to be a little more aggressive, though. I wasn't rolling. I feel like Y'all got to be a little more aggressive. Yeah, Y'all only have 21, but yeah. It's quiet, though. It's quiet, though. It's very quiet, but they winning, though. That's why it's like, okay. What's the most Y'all ever? In his career? Yeah, it's quiet though. It's very quiet. But they winning though. That's why it's like, OK.
Starting point is 01:12:25 What's the most you ever averaged? I want to see. Pulling it up right now. I think around like 25. Sounds like. So most jobs average is 27. He averaged in the 21, 22 season, played 57 games that season.
Starting point is 01:12:40 And they were talking about the Grizzlies, which just like two years, was it two years ago where they were second or third you know, the Grizzlies, which, you know, just like, uh, two years... Was it two years ago where they were second or third? Second or the second. They finished second. It's this... They're weird, right? They're... It's like... They're very... It's a very solid basketball team. Right? They defend. They get their buckets.
Starting point is 01:13:02 That motherfucking Bane, I'm sorry. If I've ever disrespected the... The little... Yeah, you know what I mean? The T-Rex. That man right there, goddamn it, is solid as it comes. Right. He is a guaranteed 20-plus. Like, he's like C.J. McCullough. Yeah. Right? Like, he comes like CJ McCullough. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:25 Right? CJ McCullough. Like, he comes to work every month. Stop it, man. He comes to work. Right? And I don't think, like, when we talk about jobs, we don't never talk about that counterpart he has that brings in a solid 20.
Starting point is 01:13:39 Well, they got a three-headed monster with Jared Jackson. Yeah. I still feel like Dylan Post, like, leaving hurts, though. Bane got paid for a reason. And we question. You know what I mean? Yeah, he got paid for a reason. The fuck?
Starting point is 01:13:50 Yeah, they paid him for a reason. They see him every day. Hey, one thing for sure. They see him every day. He's shooting hard, and he just don't have to look. His arms look short. Don't want to take advantage of him. Like, that motherfucker, man.
Starting point is 01:14:04 And he put it on the deck, too. Like, if you get it, if you think he just finished shoot three, he'll put that bitch on the deck and go by you and make plays at the rim. I'm like... He showed that when Ja, when Ja went out, he held the team up together, man. That combo, man, is being really, you know,
Starting point is 01:14:18 it's like Cleveland's combo. We not paying attention to these two, man. Right? We always talk about Ja, but we never talk about his counterpart He's good. Just talk about John Bain. So Bain under contract through 2029 John the contract through 2028 Jaron Jackson jr. Under contract through 2026. So talk about when be going down Jaron Jackson jr. Now when the frontrunners win defensive player of the year if you win defensive player there they'll make them eligible for a supermax think 345
Starting point is 01:14:44 Million dollar range So they had to offer him now. No, that's the most you can get So the most you can grizzly fans or most of them are the opinion that they can't even have to come down off that bread Yeah, they can afford it. Yeah, he's no I mean, it's Memphis Grizzlies. They can't they want and then it becomes an untradeable piece Absolutely. Mm-hmm. And this is what happens when you have a 65-game rule. People are going to get paid super max money that is not your super max talent. They can get max money.
Starting point is 01:15:17 It ain't max. Yeah, yeah. But that other, that, yeah, that one. Whoo! That's another hunter, right? This is like, this is like Jim. That super's another hunter. Right? That super is a hunter. Let's say Tatum and Brown go down, right?
Starting point is 01:15:36 And then Porzingis carries the load. Now he got to be paid 363 something. You'd be like, oh, fuck. Back in the day, people would have paid him. When he first came to New York. You wouldn't pay that now. I know. Yeah. Not now. Not now. Force of the hand. Yeah. Right?
Starting point is 01:15:49 They're gonna do exactly what I do. Hey, King, you got to vote. Yeah, I got $400,000, man. You go the other way with it, man. Anthony Davis or somebody. You want Defensive Player of the Year-level production, but just not the award to go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:04 Yeah, absolutely. I want you to go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I want you to go keep doing what you're doing. Give me two, three and one every night. Do you. I'm just going to be behind the scenes going. At the end of the year. But you know, I'm going to go on MOA. They probably going to MOA like,
Starting point is 01:16:16 you're a hell of a defender, but you know, you foul a lot. You know, that's, that's like, we're going to have to take some off the top because you just, you know, you foul a lot. I already got a discount with Ja, though, obviously. I want another discount. Okay. I'm not going to get a discount on Ja.
Starting point is 01:16:30 At the end of the year, you ain't getting that award. Yo, yeah, because they got to get that team. I hate to say it, the city of Memphis. Yeah, they probably got to move that team. Listen, you can keep it in the state. I'm not saying you can move it. You ain't got to move it out of the state. But we respect Memphis.
Starting point is 01:16:45 Get on the highway, take it a few hours and change. Yeah, man. Nashville, and I think you'll be all right. You can't keep selling Beale Street. What is that shit? And the Western. An interesting street, I will say. Even though we had fun.
Starting point is 01:16:58 That peacock with them ducks, they still stay there. You got to go to Nashville. Oh, that's the Peabody. Peabody. Fuck, I was staying at the Peabody when I got hurt in college. You gotta go to Nashville. Oh, that's the Peabody. Peabody. Whatever it is. Fuck, I was staying at the Peabody when I got hurt in college. Fuck, yeah. Yeah. I got to stay and watch them ducks walk.
Starting point is 01:17:11 Yeah, when I got my college career ended, we was staying at the Peabody. Yeah, very nice hotel. Very nice hotel. They got a team though. Cross the street from the Canterbury. Ducks, everybody chill out. Watch the ducks. Memphis is going to be UMG right now.
Starting point is 01:17:23 They're going to be behind the scenes like a motherfucker, trying to get people not to vote. Like, I don't want to pay him. Like, what is he gonna get if he doesn't win an award? I think it would be under that 345. I'm not sure what that exact number is. Isn't it like 150? No, it would be like 225, right?
Starting point is 01:17:40 He'd get more than that. I think just a regular match. He'd match 225. so he'll get whatever. They'll try to max whatever the... What is it if he don't win it? Yeah, that shit is, bro. But can they trade him? Can they trade him? I don't want to trade him.
Starting point is 01:17:57 You want to keep him for cheaper. Only thing, if you trade him, it'll be like my fucking situation. Where the ownership don't want to trade him. There ain't no players out there that you can really get back for him. They're going to have to trade him for picks. So it's about a $200 million difference. So without the defensive player of the year,
Starting point is 01:18:16 his max extension would be worth $147 million. Oh, damn. $345 for five if he gets the super max. $147 for four. Oh, damn. My bad. My bad. If you pay $200 million, you can just... Now, now, he gets to super max. $147. Oh, damn. My bad. No, a defense. My bad.
Starting point is 01:18:25 If you're going to pay $200 million, you can just say, now, now, now, let's try this again. Absolutely. How much you willing to pay? Absolutely. If you're Memphis, how much you willing to pay for these people not to vote? $200 million?
Starting point is 01:18:39 Yeah. Less. God, damn. That's what I'm saying. Now, think about me. Now, think about it. 200 million. What can I get with an extra 200 million for my team?
Starting point is 01:18:50 Right, right, right. So I'm saying I will pay 50, 25 million dollars to rig this against him. I'm sorry, sir. Just telling you as something that happens without happening. I Want you of course, but I don't I 325 man, I want you for the I want you for the 140 came for shit. Hey, I need you to honey Oh, I need you to honey. I give you another 60 under the table. God damn it Can't afford it not this motherfucker about to have a severe back sprain that he don't know and can't feel,
Starting point is 01:19:29 but my doctors done seen it. So if he do get it, so if he do get the award... We only need you to play about 64 games this year. Yeah, he don't miss games like that. No. I'm just saying, because, well, okay, well, where does your team go? They're in a tough spot.
Starting point is 01:19:44 You move, listen, you sign, how about this? You sign him at 340, then move the guy who puts everybody in his seats, file for bankruptcy. You're going to be selling your team within the next couple of years. I mean, but can you afford, I mean, he's about to be up again. If you can afford it, you can only afford it because 12's there. Call 12. Call 12.
Starting point is 01:20:03 There's going to be Superman shit everywhere. Didn't Sac just trade Fox? You can get something back for JJ, I think. Not if he makes 340. Nobody's going to want him at 3. You trade him before this, though. Yeah, like trade him like this year. So they're going to have to do Luka? That's the only way.
Starting point is 01:20:20 That's what I'm saying. That's the only way. But the problem is you ain't going to get back an AD for him. But you'll get something. So he up next year. So they would have to trade him this summer. But you still got 12. Right, they have to trade him this summer.
Starting point is 01:20:32 So 12 will fill those seats. He's under contract through next summer. You could probably get God damn, what's the number one pick this year? By deadline next year, next summer or the next year. Who would want to go there? So if he gets it this year. If he gets defensive player of the year this year because he fits a player to your this year No matter what he does next year so that's a little a flag there
Starting point is 01:20:59 First no, hey, hey Cooper flag people job. I'm ready y'all do this your hell better any big y'all got we don't got a breath Jane Jackson better than the big We gotta pay look can't pay him $340. Bron got to take a pay cut. For what? Think about it. I'm about to say it. Bron got to take a pay cut.
Starting point is 01:21:10 Yeah, then you just say Bron would take a pay cut. Y'all got to get somebody to match up with Lucas. Yeah, yeah. Bron on his way out. I don't want $340. $140 at $140. This motherfucker is the best option in the world. Y'all can afford it?
Starting point is 01:21:22 For $340? God damn. Y'all got two. Boston got two max. So y' option in the world. Y'all can afford it? For $340,000? God damn. Y'all got two. Boston got two max. So y'all in the market. Listen, it's the market to pay two guys. That. Nah, he going to have to take him a Brunson deal, man.
Starting point is 01:21:34 That's with his same team. Yeah, he going to have to take him. He ain't giving y'all no discount. Y'all the Los Angeles Lakers, baby. Yeah, y'all. It's cool to be the Lakers when y'all listen. Y'all don't Family-owned franchise. Y'all don't want to pay to get here, everybody.
Starting point is 01:21:47 Hey, it's the Los Angeles Lakers, baby. Luka! Fly up to the bus, family. Come out that paycheck! I'm gonna let it dig him like 340 for Jer and Jack. Hey, Nico, the, uh... You know where he going. Can I get that Anthony Davis back?
Starting point is 01:22:04 Give me the AD back? Look, look, look. This is going to be Rob Palenka. Listen, we can fire the G we have. Now I can hire you. Just trade us back AD for Rui, right? Open up your Japanese market. You can't open up the Japanese market. You can have anybody but Rui.
Starting point is 01:22:23 Shohei and Rui. And you have a job here just in case they fire you. Yeah, I just go up to upper management. Yes. So we asked for 340. I want Anthony Davis back. Who are the big men out there? That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:22:36 For 340, give me Anthony Davis, brother. Is he top 10 as a big? Jordan Jackson Jr.? Yeah, yeah. But it's the names. Yes. But that's the problem It's pretty this product is for Doug. It's the only thing Like I said only thing he like
Starting point is 01:22:55 40 He gotta play all 82 games With fouls has he been but played played off by he played all game. He's available. Oh, here's a baby gonna plan all of them Like Zion can play do you 30 games and then his jersey sales can make up the other games he's playing. J-J-J, he got to play all 82. Ain't nobody buying the goddamn jersey. But is that a good trade? Him for Zion? Who?
Starting point is 01:23:36 If you Memphis. Him for Zion. Jaren Jackson fucking around making fun of him when he's all NBA team. It's not like they want, they don't want to trade him. They just can't afford. Thataron Jackson fucking around to make fun of him when he's all NBA team. Memphis don't want to trade him. They just can't afford it. That's what I'm saying. I know you can't.
Starting point is 01:23:50 I don't want to trade him. But it's hard to stop him from making it. I trade a motherfucker and then he don't make it. Now I'm mad. God damn. So back to the Grizzlies. They're going to do it to him again. We asked the chat.
Starting point is 01:24:02 I will be offering right now. I'm doing it. Do you think he's third? If they make number two. Do you think he's third team All-NBA? Who? Jaron Jackson Jr. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 01:24:09 Or Mr. Bonus. He's going to make it. So either way it go. Either way it go. Listen. Either way it go. Hey. Bring me my money.
Starting point is 01:24:17 He can make that. He can make that in the All-Star game. Long as he don't win that award. But don't. But how much is it? If he makes All-NBA, I think. All-NBA, it unlocks it too. Yeah. One of them three teams and the award. But don't the deal. But how much is it? If he makes the All-NBA, I think. All-NBAs, it unlocks it, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:26 One of them three teams and the award. Oh! Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Oh, y'all better. You got to. You better be paying
Starting point is 01:24:33 off all that other people. And you better LeBron James and you better get the stroking, God damn it. Right now. Hey, yo, God damn. I'm going to just be honest.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Sometimes you just got to throw your pride away. I'll be at this motherfucking door. Hey, JJJ. Hey, listen, brother. Huh? Brother. Hey, I'm white. I'm just be honest. Sometimes you just gotta throw your power away. I'll be at his motherfucking. Hey JJJ. Hey, listen, brother Hey, I'm white. I'm sorry He's gonna be green rising King and you got a queen grand rising you Queen and your little kings and princesses and Prince Hey, I got 200. I know I'm white, but I'm going to be grand rising all through that motherfucker until
Starting point is 01:25:10 he's signed. I am not letting him get to the end of this motherfucking season. I am offering him right now. Right now. 200. Fuck the rest of this season. Did they have to sign him in the summer? This summer?
Starting point is 01:25:24 Summer or... No, I can do it right now. What I'm saying is I don't want the rest of this season. Fuck the rest of this season. Because I got a three... It's a three-option window. He's not going to sign. All-star can fuck me.
Starting point is 01:25:38 He ain't going to sign it now. Defensive player of the year. I don't even know who's third. He already know he up. Yeah, he already know he up. I don't know who's third, right? Which means there was only a clear one-two. You know what I'm feeling?
Starting point is 01:25:49 Right, so that means third is probably far as fuck. So I know where we are. He's going to make this team. I got to offer him this money now. But you know he's coming. 200, 250. Yeah, I'm not saying it's too late now. Defensive player coming.
Starting point is 01:26:03 You know he's coming. Or all NBA. One of the two. Then I'm going, bro. Then I'm going to get one of them. If got a defensive player coming. Or all NBA, one of the two. He getting one of them. If they finish second in the West with Ja missing the time that he's missed and him, oh, you can count it, Jack. Ja not eligible. Run it. You can count it.
Starting point is 01:26:18 I'm going to tell you something that nobody is going to ever say. Don't say nothing. Ja. Bane. I need you to do me a solid. Man. I think y'all need to come up with a little injury, right? I think the rest of this season needs to be tanked.
Starting point is 01:26:41 I do not want to win for him to get any awards. You can't fall off that far. I gotta fall. I have to fall. It's an enough game. It's an enough game. That's what I'm saying. But they ain't got no chance.
Starting point is 01:26:53 I mean, do they have a chance of winning it? I don't think you hear what I'm saying. Listen, listen. What I'm saying is there's $200 million for snakes.
Starting point is 01:27:05 The rest of this season don't even matter It don't even matter at the if I can say 200 No, that's playoff money ain't big enough to this UCR building me everything Say build trees, I signed up for 340 God damn it, I got to win a championship every year and get so much back. Then there needs to. That's what you need. And I'm not going to
Starting point is 01:27:28 win a championship everywhere. So God damn it. Hey, boys. I got a couple of Lambos outside waiting for you two motherfuckers. Enjoy. God damn it.
Starting point is 01:27:37 A Lambo. I got a Lambo. Whatever the fuck you two need, I don't want to finish the rest of the season off. Vacation. Send me on vacation. I got to see you. All expenses, you and your family. And if I'm Jer and Jack, I'm going to them same two. Like, hey, I need y'all to just keep ol' laying to the basket.
Starting point is 01:27:55 So I can get this thing 45. Keep sending them down here. I got you. Right? Hey, as you said it. Jer and Jack, look, listen, I know these motherfuckers are going to try. Yeah. Listen, I give you $ right? Hey, no, as you said it, Jay and Jack, look, listen. I know these motherfuckers are gonna try. Yeah. Listen, I give you $25 million extra. You motherfuckers play.
Starting point is 01:28:12 Get beat. Let me do my thing. Let me do my thing. Listen, this is... Listen, man. These are waters where the game itself... Somebody gonna plant something out there. The game itself does not actually matter.
Starting point is 01:28:23 Somebody gonna plant something out there. Somebody gonna have the police come play. What going to plant something. This is all business. What are you doing with this? Like Marcus Campbell told him, I got to get these rebounds, bro, to get my A. Stay the fuck out of the way, dog. He's got the threatening card. Hey, man, you coming to get rebounds.
Starting point is 01:28:38 Marcus Campbell's threatening you. Without anybody looking, if he's up for, he's number one for defense, who's behind him? Mobley. It was Mobley. Mobley. He said, come on, man. Now, now, now watch this.
Starting point is 01:28:57 Wamba Wamba as he's known. In the next few weeks, who do you think we're going to hear about as playing amazing defense? Evan Mobley. Evan Mobley. Evan Mobley. No, somebody just did. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:29:06 They played each other. So there was a post that I just saw where the head-to-head matchup and he was guarding him. So they said Evan Mobley outplayed Jaron Jackson in the game. He had more blocks. They just played each other Sunday. Somebody already put the narrative out there, so you're absolutely correct
Starting point is 01:29:25 Yeah, I need a mobile. Yes. Oh, it's about the switch. They did it in Cleveland. Go ahead perk Remember that Thing you did with your kitchener and be yeah, I need you go ahead pull that for me again Watch they're gonna start using Mowgli. They're gonna push him to the point where I mean, they are number one There's nothing they are the number one team They are number two. So so what what dog watch? Y'all man. Listen, man. I don't know what what world we
Starting point is 01:29:55 Read that But it's like you could save grit. Hey, look what it says yoga Hey, look at the title of it. The title of it is fucking reckless. So show, please, yeah. The title of this is, and it's, they need to add another motherfucker. Two, look at the... Let's get it in focus.
Starting point is 01:30:17 Up, up, up, up, up, up, up, right there. Oh. What? Oh, wow. That, oh, wow. Oh, wow. The fact that is a narrative that he could save it means they're going to push like... Want to read it, Joe? Owners are...
Starting point is 01:30:35 The owners are collected. But what if he make the third team, though? That's what I'm saying. That's the same one from defense all the way of the year. But what if he make a third team? I know. It's hard to stop. Jaron Jackson Jr. shot one for six with guard by Mobley.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Blocking one shot, grabbing three rounds. Mobley shot two for four with guard by Jaron Jackson. Jr. blocking three shots, grabbing 13 rebounds. The very next day, Edmund Mobley moved ahead of Jaron Jackson in defensive player of in your eye. There you go. And look, in the offensive part, it don't even matter, but they're using offensive,
Starting point is 01:31:10 like, you stop him, the fuck does that got to do with me playing defense? I'm pretty sure Rudy Goldberg will be coming out two days ago. They're about to save money. This was two days ago. This is crazy. But he could make a third team, though. That's the thing. You're not thinking about there's the NBA, then after the NBA is the owners as a collective group. I know.
Starting point is 01:31:32 He's talking to Adam Smith. I'm talking. Hey, man, I need y'all to do me some solace. That's what happens behind the scenes, man. We know that. Because they ain't got the money. But what would be the other way to stop them? Like, you stop them that way.
Starting point is 01:31:46 Voters don't vote for them. So you don't vote for them? Our record, we just fall the fuck off? Well, that ain't going to happen, so. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. What if they stay in second or top three? They got a really good coach. They stay in three.
Starting point is 01:32:00 One, two, three. Does he make it? He still make it. What about the Cavs? But what if the Cavs stay number one? Even the coach. Come on, three. Does he make it? He still make it. What about the... But what if the Cavs stay number one? Even the coach. Come on, man. Even the coach. Hey, man, you want your job, right?
Starting point is 01:32:11 Hey, man, stop playing. That's like Mobley staying. But that's like Mitchell or Garland not playing all year. Did you and Jake make the All-Star game? Yeah. I picked him on my team. He did, yeah. So speaking of the Grizzlies, we asked the chat if the Grizzlies are for real or
Starting point is 01:32:26 Fugazi. 57% say Fugazi. Let's keep this thing moving. You know we got a no touching policy here in the arena. Thank you. So, um. There you go. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:32:39 Them Phoenix Suns. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh. I'm now officially disappointed. We were actually going to... That's literally the very next topic. Good job. But before we get there,
Starting point is 01:32:51 today's podcast is sponsored by Rho. Rho Sparks are a two-in-one prescription treatment for stronger, harder erections. If prescribed, new sexual health patients get $15 off Sparks on a recurring plan. Connect with the provider at ro.co slash gill to find out if prescription RoSparks are right for you. That's ro.co slash gill for $15 off your first order. Gil, as we know... I got a question. Steve. Yes? Is there, like, does he have to, like, read it like he worked for the company?
Starting point is 01:33:46 Or can he put a Josiah twist on it? That is a Josiah twist. Josiah likes to read in an extremely professional manner. In a professional manner. I can read however he chooses, of course. Roe will make you grow, though, Kenyon, as you know. But are you, like, so those are your words, or that's what they sent you? We work with Roe.
Starting point is 01:34:01 I'm pretty sure if you look at it, it's not exactly how he read it. He'd be just adding stuff. Yeah, I just wanted to know. That's when they give me the freedom to do so. I'll just be honest. Still waiting on my Ro, just so you know. Yeah, I was just asking. Yeah, I took a half.
Starting point is 01:34:16 You sound like you work for the company. I do try to offer a great value and benefit to our very sponsors. Ask me to do it to all of our partners. Yeah, absolutely. Or you could just pop the pill and go. Well, Gil is... No, I took a half a pill because my wife was... I think I got the times.
Starting point is 01:34:35 No, I got the times messed up. I thought she was leaving tonight and she left this morning. So, brother. Currently under the influence. You know what I mean? So I got 36 hours in here and she's gone. Gil has a 36 hour window. So you sitting next to me on that shit now?
Starting point is 01:34:54 Huh? So you on it now when you sitting next to me? Brother, you not attractive, don't even worry about that. Brother, you ain't even got a word. That was that when you gave me a hug. When I gave you that, huh? That was that phone. That was not my cell phone.
Starting point is 01:35:05 Man, oh, my God. I knew that was that. That was not the cell phone. Oh, man. That's crazy. You thought that was a 16, Max? No. That was a 16.
Starting point is 01:35:17 That was Ro'Sparks. My dog. My dog. Hold it down. Everybody in the chat who tried to press me yesterday for the Zion double grip. The Zion double grip. With the Rose Smart, you got a double grip. Way more out of pocket.
Starting point is 01:35:30 This ain't no single grip action right here. That boy gives you the power. Damn. Well, speaking of bricked up, the Suns have lost six of their last seven games and are two and nine in Black History Month. Currently 11th in the West, two and a half games behind the Kings for the final playing spot. Phoenix has the highest payroll in the league at this very moment.
Starting point is 01:35:52 You talked about it, but how disappointing have the Suns been this season? And can they still salvage their season? What I'm disappointed in is this. You have, I mean, finally you're playing him, and you're starting him now, which you might get fired just for that. A guy that you haven't played no minutes all season, you decide to try him out, he balls,
Starting point is 01:36:20 then you've been starting him, and he's been killing. That right there lets you, what the fuck were you paying attention to the beginning of the season, right? So the fact that you have on your roster Kevin Durant, who is all-purpose player, you have a Beal,
Starting point is 01:36:43 scorer, passer, defender. You have a Booker, elite fucking score, can shoot. You have three marksmen on your team. Now you have Bobo, who is an all-purpose player. He can play whatever. You got four players on your team that can make the defense play to the half court, and you have Grayson Allen that is a spot-up shooter,
Starting point is 01:37:14 and you're having trouble here? You can't be doubled. You can't be doubled. You can't be doubled. Like, no one can guard this team. So what offense are you using to make it easy on the defense? This is going to be, sons, I won't trade anybody. Do not trade your roster.
Starting point is 01:37:44 There is talk about... Do not trade your roster. There is talk about... Do not trade your fucking roster. You might want to do what Cleveland did and what Detroit did. There might be just a repurpose in the person who's making these plays. And you might see a difference in the outcome. The problem right now is what offense this group is running.
Starting point is 01:38:09 You're running an isolation offense with a group who needs to be put in motion. Drive, kick, drive, slash, backdoor, lob, high, low. You have a team that has five fucking marksmen on your team. And you have isolation players, three of them. Then you have a fucking ball ball now. We don't know what the fuck that is. Do you put all that on the court? I put it all on the court.
Starting point is 01:38:39 On the coach? Do you put all that? Yes. Yes. What type of coach would you bring in? I don't know, man. I don't know. Dan Thomas. Somebody. This is a field. I give one of these New York minds a chance.
Starting point is 01:38:52 Yes. This is a Jason. This is a Jason. You know what's so funny? This is a Jason kid lineup. This is a Chauncey Billup type team. Man. This is one of those guys that... This is a Missoula.
Starting point is 01:39:11 This is fucking... This is a player. This is a player coach. Absolutely. This is a player coach. It has to be a smart mind that can put an offense in, like a Steve Kerr, that can put an offense in that's basically a fuck you. You have a team that,
Starting point is 01:39:30 the whole damn team can score fucking 30 every night. Yeah, because look how that Cleveland playing now under Kenny Atkinson, right? That ball, they look just like motherfucking Golden State. That motherfucking ball moving, it's popping, they defending, they, like, you can't, you don't know who to, like, and they got two bigs that Golden State never had. But they have people that can do that, that can create. moving, is popping, they defending, they like you can't, you don't know who to like, and
Starting point is 01:39:45 they got two bigs that go to state. But they have people that can do that, that can create better. Put a different guy in that position to where, yeah, so I don't know. I think they're tough enough. He has championship experience as a coach, but it's a different style of team, right? I don't think they're tough enough. I mean, I like, I mean, on paper, I mean, don't think they're tough enough. I mean, I like, I mean, on paper, I mean, on paper, they team is crazy.
Starting point is 01:40:08 So see what this is, right? Uh-huh. Name, right? Are they the most? Mm. Mm. See, right? We have connections here on this show, ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 01:40:21 Cause you know, he got, yes. Mm. Man, out the blue one day, he just said, I'll watch the show, and... So what I just said... Spot on, right? Mm. Spot the fuck on. We're not gonna say who, but... Yeah, no, yeah, we don't reveal.
Starting point is 01:40:39 Like, we not one of them people who I'm not, because this is inside information that we... When we say we have information on stuff We don't be like BS. This is people in position to make decisions Yeah with teams and it's in it's it's yeah, I'm not treating nobody on that team. Yeah, so I Have that team this is boss. This is Boston I got five three-point shooters with three three players that is actually unguardable they do got a team huh they just need a difference I'm rolling I like that keep
Starting point is 01:41:14 the team is good highest payroll in the league though right now I understand there's been talks about potentially okay that team is never gonna win okay Katie moving this summer there was talks about Katie moving at the trade deadline reports he was to win. KD moving this summer. There was talks about KD moving at the trade deadline. Reports he was going to go to the Warriors. Better trade now. Get rid of everybody while you can. You mean by the summer? Yeah, because if this shit keeps happening...
Starting point is 01:41:33 But before the season started, and I'll bring this up again, we said we wouldn't be surprised if the Suns were one of the top teams in the league or if the Suns were somewhere down. I don't want to say 11th, but... Why are we not surprised by that? Because with Bobo, you just unlocked a creature Man so our whole but what about the in lies they had a whole Bobo a lot of people future rely on Bobo
Starting point is 01:41:57 What the fuck is we talk summer hoping the prophecy is KVM book, but my whole future relies on Bobo. That was no different than playing you and Kobe. Y'all both are wanting to do the same thing, right? Sit there, isolate, play isolation basketball. That's a clash. That's what they're having. They're clashing because they want to play isolation basketball. So why I'm sitting here playing isolation basketball, what is the other ones doing just sitting there?
Starting point is 01:42:24 There needs to be an offense when this is playing ISO they're moving their back doing they're cutting They're getting easy to leave moving for no reason ain't like the mother gonna pass. How's their defense? They don't play the defense gave 150 Let's go back to the Lakers Now let's go back to the Lakers, right? When they go back to the Lakers. Crazy, everybody. When Luka's moving, what was Rui doing? What was Vando doing?
Starting point is 01:42:54 Right? He's jumping right under the basket, right under the basket. They're not doing that. Who's on that team going to beat Luka, though? Nobody on that team does what Luka does. Yeah, do they have anybody on the team? They don't need anybody to beat Luka. They need a Draymond Green.
Starting point is 01:43:07 I said that, but... They need somebody. They need a bit... They need fucking Ben Simmons. I said that, yeah. They need to put Ben Simmons at the elbow. They need to let them move around, scream for one another, backdoor,
Starting point is 01:43:19 because he's not looking to shoot it. So, therefore, you put somebody like that in that situation, I think it works. I forgot Ben Simmons on the clip. That's what I'm saying. That's wild. But somebody like that in that situation where they're moving, KD's screening for book, one go back door, one pop. It's that shit, right?
Starting point is 01:43:40 That shit tough to guard. I know. And they're efficient, right? Like, you got three of them. Book was 11. Book missed, what, eight shots yesterday? Right? He was like 12 for 20, I think he was, something like that.
Starting point is 01:43:52 Right? They got a lot of them. KD missed, what, eight shots? So Bradley Beal was 11 for 20. Beal been balling his last three starts. So you put them in that position to just catch and shoot where they're moving and backdoor layups and shit like that. I think it works for them.
Starting point is 01:44:07 It works for them. That's what I said. They need to be somewhere that it's working. Those guys are not standing. You guys, like even with the Lakers, the difference between the Lakers last year and this year, right, is how much do they move without the ball with J.J. versus what they were doing before.
Starting point is 01:44:23 Before it was LeBron James, I'm gonna drive, you're gonna sit there, and I'm gonna do this. Now they got this, we're gonna pass it to you, we're gonna screen, you're gonna roll off, we might get you for the lob, like, go in and post, so. Differences, Luke. So imagine, Nick, they run a split action, right?
Starting point is 01:44:35 They run a split action, right, to get to the ISO shit that they wanna get to, right? Who? I'm saying the Warriors, that's right. You run a split action, book go back door with KD, this, that, and the third, now he peeling post, now he got ice. All right, so you still can do the same thing that you're doing But it's just a different way to get to it You still be who you are, but it's just different ways to get to the shit now instead of just we're gonna come down
Starting point is 01:44:57 Here you go Go score. Oh Shit it missed it Do people know what the triangle offense was? It was not meant for Michael Jordan nor Kobe Bryant. The offense wasn't made for them. The offense was made for the defense that was trying to guard these two. You motherfuckers is about to move around because he's cutting.
Starting point is 01:45:24 He's going back door, he's doing it. Hey, you're doing it. And then the ISO is going right there. So you done did this, stop this, this, boom. Now he gets to go. Versus giving him the ball. Now all, all 10 defensive players is looking at him. It was created for the defense. What year is this for Phoenix? That's football. All of them been together. This the third year or second year? How long has Ben Bobo been playing?
Starting point is 01:45:49 How long has Bobo been in the league? No, no, I've been playing. Five games? Yeah. Five games. There's been five games. If five seasons rely on Bobo, just trade me. If I'm KD, just trade me.
Starting point is 01:46:03 If I got to rely on him, just trade me. I don't want to be here. If y'all talking like this nigga going to come and be Superman. Nigga said Bobo, man. Fuck out of here. We just expect him to be Bobo. God damn. KD, please leave.
Starting point is 01:46:15 This nigga said your season relies on Bobo. Fuck that. So Bobo played 65 games for the Suns. Hold on. He's not guard playing no defense. Nobody's playing no defense. He ain't going to pass the ball. He's going to shoot just like the rest of the motherfuckers.
Starting point is 01:46:32 Everybody out there doing that fucking 24-hour fitness one-on-one moves. Shit. Stop. It's over. Let's move on? Move on. Sound like you smoke blacks. Let's move on.
Starting point is 01:46:41 Y'all sound like y'all smoke crack. Y'all saying Bobo motherfucking shit. Nigga said Bobo the savior. I'm here with you right now. I got it right here. Now you ain't beating me again. So Bobo. 12, 19 and 7, 18 and 14, 15, and last night, 23. I done unlocked a new player.
Starting point is 01:47:02 Let me try that again. A player that was on the bench, DNP, DNP, DNP, DNP, you know, this mother of DNP, DNP. And I just unlocked the guy every time I gave him 24 minutes. With or without Bobo? What's the record with Bobo?
Starting point is 01:47:16 24 minutes. I just unlocked the guy that I did. What is the record with Bobo? Let me try it again. Then I'll answer your question. I'm asking you. I'm going to answer. He averaged 19-9 when he started.
Starting point is 01:47:26 So, 12? He's 19-9 since he's been starting. Yeah. Which means this man that I didn't even pay attention to has started averaging 19-9. Uh-huh. My record doesn't matter because I didn't even know. Oh, shit. I didn't know I had him.
Starting point is 01:47:43 This offense was created for them. And he just came in a game and he's done he's averaging 19 and I mean I need to now incorporate him because I unlocked something new I unlocked the same shit with a oh wait two and a half block two and a half thank you ain't lost five games with I don't even know. I just found out who he is. In his three games? It's like with Even Given Sunday, right? Uh-huh. Quarterback, the team was made for this.
Starting point is 01:48:14 Caperooney. Caperooney is made for this. And Willie Beeman. Then Willie Beeman came in. Willie Beeman. I'll leave the girl. He's something that I didn't know about. Everything has to change now because of his talent. I get what you saying so finicky
Starting point is 01:48:32 That's how with that's how it works Like this is something that I didn't even know I had I got to figure out how to fucking use it now I mean, that's why I said this summer I'm not making a move. You're making a move. Are you making a move? I don't want to draft. But that move. No, what I'm saying is that move. I don't need to draft nobody.
Starting point is 01:48:50 I probably don't even need to go for a big free agent. I just unlocked a big free agent. Hence why I said last year I would have offered him. If he came to me and said $10 million because I'm going to play you. Look, what you're talking about, $19 and $9. Now this motherfucker is going to cost you more money. He's going to be a free agent. He's going to cost you more money now.
Starting point is 01:49:08 Bill, get me out of here. Yes. Please. You waving to no trade club. Even if you get a new coach? It's just another nigga that want to shoot. Just get me out of here. He don't want to shoot.
Starting point is 01:49:20 He has the ability to shoot. They got a lot of talent, dog. They got a lot of talent. You're going to retire, bro. Why are you going to retire, nigga? I'm going to retire, Bill. Why got a lot of talent, dog. They got a lot of talent. Bill's gonna retire, bro. Why he gonna retire, Nick? I'm never gonna retire, Bill. Why he gonna retire, Nick? It's just another nigga that's pushed me to the back.
Starting point is 01:49:30 Just keep pushing me farther back. Talking about Bo now. Okay, I'm Bill, but Bo here. 19 and 9 and three starts. He pushed me to the back. 19 and 9 and three starts. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. And three blocks.
Starting point is 01:49:40 Smart coach, man. You are. You need a smart coach. Manu Bozha. A lot. You need a smart coach that understands how to out-of-the-box get games. So now Bill's going to go from 18 to what? I don't give a fuck what he goes from. That's what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:49:51 If he goes to 14 and Bobo's averaging 14, between these two players before, I was only averaging 18. Now I'm averaging 14 and 14. Nigga, that's 28 points. What the fuck are you talking about? And they still lose it. And no matter what are you saying, they're still losing.
Starting point is 01:50:07 That's why I want to get out of there if I'm Bill. I want to leave. I don't give a fuck what you're talking about. I'm starting a guy. I'm starting a guy. He's 19 and 9. Bill, if you want to leave,
Starting point is 01:50:16 I got somebody who has just one more point and motherfucking six more rebounds. What are you talking about? Please. Have faith in him. So we asked the chat. Chat has been on.
Starting point is 01:50:25 You sound like the same people who were saying, you need to trade motherfucking Jalen Brown and Tatum. The motherfuckers proved you wrong because a new coach came in and changed it. I ain't never said that. I'm talking about Bill and Bobo. Get me the fuck out of here. Bobo. Shout out to Bobo.
Starting point is 01:50:43 Bobo who, Bobo? I'm trying to tell you. Shout out, Bobo. Bobo Hooper. I'm trying to tell you. Shout out, Bobo. There needs to be some questions, but I'm not going to be thinking. I got a 19-9 on starting. It's embarrassing to my franchise as a coach. You put a guy in who you haven't been playing all last year, all season, and then you put him in, he started averaging 19-9.
Starting point is 01:51:05 I mean, he's been playing better than the center you had before. This Bobo you talk about. The center you had before. What did I say last year? I watched it. You said get Bobo running, and people found you. They found you. Y'all remember.
Starting point is 01:51:19 Hey, listen, I'm going to think ahead and say, you know what? I'm going to go ahead and give you a three-year, $10 million. You're young. Your attributes is crazy. Don't know where to play you. Don't know how. But I know, motherfucker, if I put you out there, you're going to do something.
Starting point is 01:51:34 That's worth three-year, $10 million. More than anybody's going to pay you. What's up? Because what happens is, this summer, he's, if he has a good agent, decent agent, he's in the $20 million range. Man. I'm like, KD, Bill, Bobo. Two and a half.
Starting point is 01:51:50 I'm rolling. As a starter, 19 and nine. They ain't got him between some games. He's paid. Might as well just finish it out this year. You keep talking about this shit, Nick. I said, what I'm going to do for next year. I just unlocked somebody.
Starting point is 01:51:58 What are you talking about? Are you listening with your motherfucking ears? Oh my God. I'm not listening. I'm not listening. I'm not listening. I'm not listening. I'm not listening. I'm not listening. I shit, Nick. I said, what I'm going to do for next year. I just unlocked somebody.
Starting point is 01:52:07 What are you talking about? Are you listening with your motherfucking ears? God damn. Why you got to keep their ass? Cool. Fuck. Damn.
Starting point is 01:52:14 You talking about Bobo leaving fucking the same record as Portland. Who the fuck Portland got? Nobody. All right. God damn. And Simon.
Starting point is 01:52:21 Nobody. Shout out. But we asked the chat. So what I'm saying is, I said pay him three year 10, right last year, remember? Yeah. I said give him some bread. And I said, because if he starts playing, it's going to cost you. With 27 games left, averaging 19 to nine.
Starting point is 01:52:38 No, hey listen, as a starter, 19 to nine. As an agent, you're good. Suns are only two games ahead of the blaze. No, what I'm saying is you're good as a eight as an agent You have done enough I can sell you this summer It's gonna cost you like I said it was auto mean this points just sell them. Yeah So we asked the chat. Can the Suns turn it around this season? No. 78% said no. No, they can't. But let's talk a little bit about KD.
Starting point is 01:53:09 No, they can't. That's why I said I'm disappointed. They can't. It's over. It's over? Yeah. I mean, but if that's the game plan and they opening up and they can get a new coach, I mean. You can't.
Starting point is 01:53:21 Let Bobo be your star. Listen, as a team, just think how bad it looks, right? You've been, you've been had this piece on this bench for how many years now? Almost two, three. Almost two, three, right? Two years. You've been watching him in practice and all that stuff. You ain't gave him no time.
Starting point is 01:53:40 And then the time you did give him, he showed out. Every single time you gave him 20-plus minutes, he looked like he should be playing minutes. And then this season comes, you're struggling and all that, and then like, all right, Bobo, go play. And that same piece has been averaging 19 and 9. Let's talk about... You question...
Starting point is 01:54:03 the coach now. Like, y'all don't have practice. He hasn't been showing these signs. What's been going on? See, it shouldn't have took for Bobo to start playing and playing well for them to question what the fuck he's been doing as a coach. You got three stupid stories. It shouldn't have took for this to to happen for that to be in question Mm-hmm. Are we talking about Bobo our Phoenix?
Starting point is 01:54:29 I'm talking about Phoenix. I'm talking about ownership management. Yeah, we're having a different conversation I'm talking about management and ownership Questioning in the job because the three guys that you have off top Mm-hmm. That's been a problem if If one is out, we still got two. So, it shouldn't been what it has been. Should not be this bad.
Starting point is 01:54:49 At all. Right, shouldn't been that. Last year, this year, got fucking swept. Like, that shit like,
Starting point is 01:54:54 so, we gotta, we gotta reevaluate this thing. Now that this kid is playing well, it just adds another element
Starting point is 01:55:04 to, to this disappointment that's already been going on under this head coach, right? You have to. With that kind of talent, you shouldn't. Yeah. It's a disappointment, to say the least, unfortunately. That's why I said.
Starting point is 01:55:23 So what did I say in Denver? I won't trade anybody. I'm going to fire the coach, get somebody in. I said this wasn't going to work day one. I'm a firm believer in... I said it wasn't going to work day one. I'm a firm believer in, and I said it time and time again, I believe this wholeheartedly,
Starting point is 01:55:39 had we had a different coach in Denver, we'd win a championship, dog. I'm not going to beat Kobe. I'm just going to keep it. We threw the ball away twice on out-of-bounds play because we didn't have no out-of-bounds. We were trying to zip a mellow up. Trust me.
Starting point is 01:55:55 Dog. You didn't. So trust me, bro. We honestly thought we had a better team than them. Absolutely. Kobe was that. Better team than somebody when they play them. Nah.
Starting point is 01:56:04 But they did beat them, but still. No, no, no, no, no. If we had a different coach with a different approach that coached the totality of the game and not just one side of the ball. So we had one of our point guards that was there a long way called my offensive coordinator, which knows that side of the ball well absolutely i've never taken that from it but when you when they get high stakes in certain end of game situations time scores situation y'all
Starting point is 01:56:35 did y'all practice these things y'all have done these things we never did so when the game is on of course we've been in situations but when the team takes something away when you haven't diagrammed a different strategy in this situation to help this talent that you have we're not saying we need to go out and play for it's on us to go out and play and yeah absolutely but at times put us in situations to be successful and we didn't have that and that same person Made me I may look good. Yeah, because you didn't have to worry about creating that That individual bucket just give me the ball not do it for you. Yeah, so I Was talking about so is that you will struggle with me? I made him look good because he didn't have to worry about calling that play or trying to design What happens down this with six seconds.
Starting point is 01:57:27 I just give him the ball, go one for a flat, and he's like, oh, cool. Just, hey. You know what I mean? It's shit like that, bro. We talk, sons. Let's talk. It's another level of talk. Swag, you wake up from your slumber.
Starting point is 01:57:40 God damn. George, you don't even know what conversation we're actually having. Yeah, because you just interrupted. You don't even know what we're talking about. Because you live on the corner. Because you mad. you don't even know what conversation we're actually having. Yeah, because you just interrupted. You don't even know what we're talking about. Because you live on the corner. Because you mad. I don't know. Oh, you want to be right.
Starting point is 01:57:51 I don't know. You don't know. We're on the corner. We're having a different conversation. It's not that you're right or wrong. You're not even having the same conversation as us. You can't tell me they was going to beat the Lakers. We're not even talking about that. That's what I was talking about him with. We're not talking about that's why I was talking about him wasn't talking about them
Starting point is 01:58:12 George you're a Cleveland fan, right? All right. Here we go. You're right Gil is is your offense different than last year? Okay, that's the difference between New coach right a different off. Yeah, last year. A new coach, right? A new coach playing in a different offense. Yeah. You're number one. Same team. Detroit, right? Your offense last year and how you played last year is very different.
Starting point is 01:58:34 Wasn't successful. Wasn't successful. The past few years. Right, you changed the coach. Yeah, yeah. He put something in different. And guess what offense? And the results is different.
Starting point is 01:58:44 And guess what offense he's running? The offense that Cleveland ran last year. Now, that's funny. That's about personnel. That's personnel. Yeah, yeah. Shout out to Hank Cunningham. So all I'm saying is, I'm watching something,
Starting point is 01:58:58 and I'm saying, you don't need new players. You just need a new coach. Oh, sir. You just need a new coach to revamp this. Yes, sir. And have these boys? You need a new coach to revamp this. Yes, sir. And have these boys moving without the ball backdooring. You guys are going to be more successful.
Starting point is 01:59:10 All right, well, let's talk about one of those players, Kevin Durant. KD being very vocal about the perceived NBA viewership issues and fans complaining about the current product and the subject of criticism throughout the latter stages of his career for leveraging his power to play where he wants. But one thing that can't be denied is just how much the future Hall of Famer loves the game. Last week, Netflix debuted Court of Gold, a docuseries that followed Team USA, France, Serbia, and the Canadian basketball squads in their quest for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. KD was emotional when talking about playing in the Olympics
Starting point is 01:59:40 and just how much the game of basketball means to him. I can tell how much he's raised you, man. Nah, for sure. For sure. Because it's like, I come from neighborhoods where people don't even talk to each other. Like, so much hate in the world, too. Like, when you finally, when people get to start laughing and joking for a game of ball, like, it's cool to me. So, like, it get me emotional, dog.
Starting point is 02:00:12 Like, oh, my bad. Because it's crazy to see. Because, like, it's crazy to see somebody say they traveled so long to come see their favorite player play in the Olympics. They spend that money. they bring their whole family. Like, it's just dope to me. The game just saved my life, so. It brought me and my family out of a lot of bullshit. So I'm just like grateful for it, for real.
Starting point is 02:00:45 So we seen the clip, Shout Out Quarter it. For real. So we've seen the clip. Shout-out Quarter Gold on Netflix. Thank you, Gil. Beautiful moment. Wanted to try to unite the couch before we wrap up this show today. So earlier this week, we had Boogie Cousins on the show. We talked about player legacies, how many don't have control over them. KD's an exception as he's leveraged his power to leave OKC to win two chips,
Starting point is 02:01:03 two finals MVPs with the Warriors, for a dip into Brooklyn to join forces with Kyrie, then getting traded to the Suns to team up with Devin Booker. Is the criticism KD gets unfair considering how much love he has for the game of basketball? That's it right there. I think people expect him more. Like, they want him to win more because his talent is so good. Like, you expect him to win everywhere he goes, pretty much. Like a LeBron.
Starting point is 02:01:33 No, it's only like him and LeBron, a couple players like that. Like, when they go to a team, you expect them to go further than what 27 wins. That's all I'm saying. But Bobo saving that man, that cry, legacy. Not where I would expect the combo to go. Yeah, you know, for me, like, when I look at that, man, you know, I just look about how beautiful life is and how good God is. You know, to be able for me, like, when I look at that, man, you know, I just look about how beautiful life is and how good God is.
Starting point is 02:02:06 You know, to be able to play the game, you know, where he comes from, you know, him honoring his craft and working hard every day. So, you know, just to be able to, like we said, come out of the neighborhoods and, you know, his family never had anything, you know, it just shows how much he really just loved the game. So how can you even hate him? Like, he just literally just loves basketball. Like, it don't, like, nothing else matters.
Starting point is 02:02:26 He could just be in the gym and just shoot all day. That's all he gonna do. So, you know, like when you, when you love something and you're very passionate about it, you're gonna get hate. Cause you're doing something other people can't do. So for me, KD got a lot of flack for burner accounts. Now we see why he has one.
Starting point is 02:02:41 But, but that's my point. Man just wanted to talk basketball without people being like, ooh, it's KD, look what KD said. He just wanted to have conversations with people. We kind of clowned him initially for that, but when you take a step back and look at him, and this is a dude who literally loves the game. He's been very vocal with tweets recently
Starting point is 02:02:55 about all the criticism the game has gotten. He grew up in an era, same era we grew up in, that when they showed you an NBA player, they showed you his greatness, right? They showed you what he meant to the game, what he brought to the game. We grew where they only highlighted your excellence. He is playing in an era where it's all personal hate. No factual anything. It's all about, he grew up, it's all about winning and going out there doing your best.
Starting point is 02:03:43 And that's what he's been trying to do. That's what all these kids have been trying to do. And they're criticized. Their legacies is torn apart by people who don't put in the same time, who do not look at the game the same way. And that's not what they grew up on you know we when you talk about magic bird Charles Barkley dunk all these people it was all the greatness we didn't know nothing about them we didn't care we don't know about their wives we
Starting point is 02:04:16 don't know who their kids were now that's all this era is about. You averaging 28, 7, and 7, your legacy ain't shit. It's empty points. Who are you? This and that. What? So, yes, it makes him tear up because he knows how
Starting point is 02:04:39 much he's put into this game. This is why someone like Kyrie is coming and staging the motherfucking building. He don't want y'all put into this game. This is why someone like Kyrie is coming and staging the motherfucking building. He don't want y'all energy into this purity of something, right? You guys always bring up the Michael Jordan and the Kobe, right? It's the purity of what they're putting in. They done pushed this to the Devin Bookers, the LeBrons, and all these guys, and they're trying to carry on something that they were taught, but the people who's judging it, they've learned from reality TV. Yeah. And that's what the emotions is for.
Starting point is 02:05:20 It's the human element of this, right? Everything and it's overcome, childhoods, whatever, growing up, making it out of that, Texas, becoming this, seeing it almost, taking away injuries. Like, it's a lot, man, that go into that, right? For you to sit there and reflect in the moment from a question that's asked. Asked.
Starting point is 02:05:48 Simple question. Right, simple question that's asked. And sometimes that's all it take, like for you to have that reflection on what all you have accomplished, how hard you worked in this, like in that simple timeframe. And he's passionate about it, man.
Starting point is 02:06:10 So shout out to KD, man. It's the work, it's the appreciation. Like he said, people come and bring their family. Cause I always say, man, for people to come see you and respect what you do, the love that they show you, it's unmatched. For people to respect what you do. My kids always ask me, Dad, why do so many people say hi? I mean, I did something right.
Starting point is 02:06:38 I can only look at it as I did something right with my time. I wasn't multi-year all-star. I wasn't this, wasn't that, like these guys. But to feel appreciated from what you did, you can't put a value to that and know all the things that he's had to overcome as of late.
Starting point is 02:06:56 Right? The injuries. That shit takes a toll on you. To do it again, then to come back again, that shit, and to still be doing it at a high level, you got to respect it Can't hate become the people want you to win and they get mad that you're not doing that Like can somebody be mad like damn this that should be winning the game
Starting point is 02:07:17 Yeah, and you can't be mad at the person cuz he's not doing what you think he can do? If you ain't never been in that situation. I'm just saying, I'm just saying, like, if I really love Katie, if I'm a fan of the game and I really like Katie, is that considered, hey, if I believe that he can win and get shit done, but he's not doing it? And I'm like, what the fuck is he doing? Yeah, that's a fan. That's called a fan. But ain't that, don't that make people great?
Starting point is 02:07:43 Ain't that what the greatness you were talking about? But he's not being judged. But he's not being judged by his fans. The media is not his fans. You see the difference? So a fan is, you played bad today, ah boo. Tomorrow I cheer you. As a player, you understand that.
Starting point is 02:08:02 Now if I'm going out there playing, or I play bad and you boo me then I come play great and you don't give me the cheer and you only you only give me the boos you don't give me the cheers that becomes the personal problem with the players themselves is I don't know you talking but I'm just talking about in general I'm not talking I didn't I don't know you talk, but I'm just talking about in general. I'm not talking I didn't know who's based just on media. I'm talking about in general like fans to fans get mad when they yeah Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But that that's a Team or they've ever played that's what I'm saying. That's him be considered hate to me though, but that but those are not The fans is gonna give him the gratification the gratification of why you have a burner phone, it doesn't come from fans.
Starting point is 02:08:48 Those are not fans. It's the hatred of it, right? Where we're in an era where I don't like you because your legacy is fucking with somebody else's legacy that I love. Okay, okay. Right? Yeah. There's no reason for love. Okay. Right? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:09:05 There's no reason to say that. That's why I be like, damn it, you over here tapping into my favorite player. That's why I be like, wait a minute, I like all of them. There's no comfort. I like them all where I rank them. Right? This is when you know someone, this is the problem. When they say, all right, who's the GOAT?
Starting point is 02:09:24 And you're going to be like, all right, Jordan's the GOAT. All all right who's the goat and you're gonna be like all right Jordans to go all right, who's number two Kobe's number two who's number three LeBron's number three The reason he's number three is because he only won four or five like wait. Why are you doing that? Yeah? Why why is there a negative notion on why he's three there was no negative negative notion on why he's two There's not gonna be a negative notion on why the person's number four. But you're throwing in a negative conversation talking about some legacy. Why? Because he could be number one if he put some one on.
Starting point is 02:09:56 I can't be number one. That's what I'm saying. But number two could be number one if he won something, but you didn't do that to him. Number four could be number one if he won something, but you didn't do that to him. Number four could be number one, if he won all his championships, you don't do that to them. No. Kobe could have been. You don't think people say things about Kobe?
Starting point is 02:10:14 Yeah, they say things. No, they don't bring up the bad years. They don't bring up the bad years. Y'all just said Kobe was a sidekick. Hold on, let's try this again. When someone's talking about a top ten, top ten list, and when you go about a top ten list and they explain to you their top ten list, there's only going to be one player on the top ten list that has a negative mark on them.
Starting point is 02:10:39 When you talk about Duncan, you're like, yeah, Duncan is number eight. He got five rings. He got two finals MVP. He did this, this, this, this. Two, ten is number eight. He got five rings. He got two finals MVP. He did this, this, this, this. Two. Ten. Shaq. Shaq got five rings and four rings.
Starting point is 02:10:52 He got this, this, this. That's all you're doing, right? There's no negative on why you're putting him here. Only LeBron is going to get that. You're going to say LeBron's number three because he didn't win this. He didn't win that. he didn't win this? That's because he's a threat to one. Okay.
Starting point is 02:11:10 Then what happened to two? Kobe's a threat to one, too. But no one said the same thing about Kobe. Kobe do say things about Kobe. First of all, when you say, hold on. Hold on. If Jordan's number one and Kobe, when they say Kobe, they'd be like, he has five rings.
Starting point is 02:11:26 He's the second coming to Jordan. He did this, this, this. That's it. He's the second. But when Kobe was playing, that was his argument. He don't got six rings. He did not say that was his argument. But no one says he don't have six rings.
Starting point is 02:11:37 He don't have ten finals. When he was playing, yeah, they said that. You just say he's number two. He was the second best thing to Michael Jordan. That's how you say it. You don't use no negative on him. You just say the second best thing to Michael Jordan. That's how you say it. You don't use no negative on him. You just say he's the second to Michael Jordan. He has a better skill set than Michael Jordan.
Starting point is 02:11:51 That's it. When he was playing, they was. That's all they say right now. It's always been the rings. It don't matter, but you don't say he don't have six. You just say he has five. He has an MVP. You say all great things. They don't compare his rings. They don't have six. You just say he has five. He has an MVP. You just, you say all great things.
Starting point is 02:12:07 They don't compare his rings. They don't compare his rings. They don't compare his rings to Bill Russell. You just say it. Bill Russell, he has this, this, this, this. You move on. It's about rings. But that's the biggest argument they say about Michael Jordan and Kobe and LeBron.
Starting point is 02:12:21 They don't have the same ring as Jordan. That's why they can't be. What I'm saying is if you ask somebody, I want you to go and ask somebody their top ten, right? Say, give me your top ten and explain why they're in these numbers. Some people don't have Kobe in their top ten. No, no, but what I'm saying is, no,
Starting point is 02:12:37 it don't matter who they have. Watch what happens. Why you talking to them, Dan? No, what I'm saying is... But some people don't. Okay, but watch what happens. Even if they don't them, Dan? No. That's insane. Some people don't. Okay, but watch what happens. Even if they don't have Kobe in there, it don't matter.
Starting point is 02:12:50 Watch when they get to one, three, four, five, six. When you hear what they're saying about every single one, they're going to tell you when they get to LeBron James, instead of saying LeBron has, he leads the NBA in most points scored, he has four rings, he has four MVPs, this is why he's a... They're not going to do that. They're going to say, this is why he's number three. He went to the finals ten times but only won four.
Starting point is 02:13:21 He switched teams to Miami. He asked... That is going to be the resume. It's like they're trying to express to you why he's not number one or whatever. Versus, if you get to Magic Johnson, what do you think they're going to say about Magic Johnson?
Starting point is 02:13:34 Okay, but what's the standards of these guys that are number one? They all stick with one team. You're doing it. But this is the way this is. This is the way. These are the standards. You're doing it. But these are the way this is. This is the way. These are the standards. You're doing it. But these are the standards. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:13:47 You're doing it exactly what I'm saying. Those are the standards. There's only one number one. You put them there. Those are the standards that they have, that they have for it. He just explained to him why he got number one. Kareem changed teams. Again, listen.
Starting point is 02:14:00 You just did exactly what I'm saying. Say it again. Kareem ain't one to me. I didn't say he was one, but he's on the top ten list. You're going to say one, right? He has six rings, this, that, that. Boom. Number one.
Starting point is 02:14:12 Boom. Number two, you're going to say whoever that is. Wherever you have LeBron, you're going to say out your mouth, you got him wherever you have him. It don't matter. You're going to compare him to number one. So that means you're going to say everything that's wrong with him on why he's not number one. Why?
Starting point is 02:14:35 You didn't do that for two. You didn't do that for three. You didn't do that for five, six, seven, eight. You just read out why they're in that position and you move on. Why can't you just say, look, at number three, LeBron James, he led the NBA in most points. He played 22 years.
Starting point is 02:14:54 He has 21 all-stars. He did this, that, and that. Cool. Number four is Magic Johnson. He has three MVPs, the youngest MVP, blah, blah, blah. Number five, no one does that. There's going to be one person. They're going to throw in the joke with magic, though.
Starting point is 02:15:09 They're going to throw in some shade with magic. For sure, they're going to throw in some shade with magic. They only do it to LeBron James. You talk about his negative thoughts and his resume, for I have no... Watch, ask somebody about the top ten. Watch what they do with... Just say I said it. Watch what they do with LeBron. They're gonna give you all pros on Jordan,
Starting point is 02:15:30 all pros on number two. You're gonna have negatives, then pros, pros, pros, pros, pros. Watch. That's how it works. I don't know why they do that. But they do that to Kobe, too, though. They do that to anybody they feel is a threat to Michael Jordan. They said Kobe Bryant was a side to Sha Jordan, but they said Kobe. Why was a side aside to say
Starting point is 02:15:48 And then you said Kobe was never the best player in the He's a Jordan. That's why he's not number one. He will be like As someone I'm telling you go home and say yo, give me your top ten and then and then explain what I'm just saying Go do it Go saying go do it. I heard it already. Everybody say that. Go do it. Do it. Why Kobe not number one?
Starting point is 02:16:08 He wants to be like Jordan. That's what everybody's saying. I want you to text him. I don't want to hear why he's number one. Every Mike fan say, ain't too much like Mike. Why he's number one? Just say, wherever you have him, just explain. So Cemetery Larry in the Gills Arena group chat right now.
Starting point is 02:16:24 I respect Shaw, so I'm going to read what he had to say had to say that these niggas got to bring up Kobe because he great He said to Gil your line. You said Kobe is disqualified because of Shaq You said his three rings don't count for what Gil a liar then he did a spongebob mean with him him glazing his For what position glazing his... For what position? Glazing. This is comparing somebody to somebody else when you're seeing top ten. Like listen to what I'm saying. When you explain your top ten, right? And I'll be an example. One, Michael Jordan. He's number one because I got beat up. Alright? I got beat up for all his shoes and his greatness. One. Two, LeBron James.
Starting point is 02:17:06 Forty-some thousand points. Number three, childhood hero. He's been a childhood hero. He's the American kid who went from greatness, fell, came back to greatness. Number four, Magic Johnson. He was the magic man. Came out the ah, ah, ah, ah. Number five, Shaquille O'Neal.
Starting point is 02:17:22 As a young kid, breaking backboards, doing all this. You see how I did that right? But they also now they also have flaws But why am I telling you someone's flaws and because that's the reason why they're not too because they're not number one I'm not number one. So I need to know why he not number one Do you need to know because I want to know why he's not number one if he's that great. Why are you number three? Why are you number four? Why are you number two? Tell me why it's only one number one if he's that great why are you number three why are you number four why are you number two tell me why it's only one number one if you ain't number one then why are you number two why are you number three why are you number four why are you number five you see why the
Starting point is 02:17:53 problem is this why do you have to be something wrong with you for you to be because you're not number one so something went wrong something went wrong no there's some nobody's congratulating nobody's congratulating on who's nobody cares who's number two or who's number three it's all about who's number one it's always been about that all right who's the top 10 in football because i guarantee you when they go through the list there's never going to be a negative on why who's not number one i'm gonna say baby there it gotta. It gotta be. It gotta be a reason why you're not number one. It has to be. No that's not how they do it. Only basketball does that. No it's not only basketball. It's only LeBron James. Is John Brady number one in football? Many would say that. Alright how about this. Before LeBron James came in. Stop. You can't say it's only LeBron James. Okay go ahead. Before LeBron James. Now. Stop. You can't say it's only LeBron James. OK, go ahead. Now you're being crazy.
Starting point is 02:18:45 Before LeBron James. Now I'm scared. So cool. Let's say just the year 2000. Oh my god. The year 2000. A great year. The top 10 was what?
Starting point is 02:18:57 Jordan, Kareem, what? Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Magic, and all that? Larry Bird magic Why Kareem wasn't to I mean, why was it Kareem number one because people are haters girls, you know Because he was just doing this So, why was it why wasn't he number one? It's for LeBron. Flaw? It had to be some type of flaws. You see how you don't have a great actor as well.
Starting point is 02:19:31 That's because they don't put bigs after that deal. Great actor for sure. Again, you know you're proving me. You can't come up with anything because there was never a narrative like that. But whoever had him won. You can't say it was only for LeBron because you heard the same thing, the same
Starting point is 02:19:45 shit about Kobe. I said number two. I just said number two, right? Kareem was number two by 2000. You didn't have nothing negative to actually say because there was no negative on why he wasn't number one. He's two. Number three. Whoever was number three, he just said they were three.
Starting point is 02:20:01 Who didn't have anything negative to say about Kareem? There's no threat. Let's go look at the article. Nobody feels like that's a threat to Michael Jordan. Nobody feels like he's a threat to Michael Jordan. If somebody come and threat Jordan, that's when it becomes that. Why he's not number one. You act like it only happened to LeBron. It happened to Kobe Bryant, too.
Starting point is 02:20:17 Let's keep it real. Stop. I know you fucking love LeBron, but don't disrespect. Niggas wasn't saying, oh, he can't be number one. He want to be like Jordan. You can't stop this shit, man, for real. Let's stop, man. Let's stop.
Starting point is 02:20:29 For real, let's stop. People was dogging Kobe, dog. I want a fact here. I love his opinion. I love the energy. Can you tell me, on record, this is called record on record When did Kobe by the consensus masses? Oh my god ever? was a top five player
Starting point is 02:20:54 Because you know so in all voting with all voting that's ever been done if people didn't hide the masses Can you please, not our emotional problem, can you tell me when did he ever, his name ever, hit or break top five? What year was it, please? I want to say when he died. I don't even ask you. We're looking right now.
Starting point is 02:21:19 They're looking. So this is a factual thing, not our opinion. I know for sure he wasn't top five for a minute. That's a fact. He wasn't tough. I forget that that's the fact he wasn't in people 20 ESPN put out The top 75 all-time on their their list. Uh-huh. They had Kobe Bryant number nine number nine. Okay, so that was I'm going I'm not talking about us. I don't want our opinion in it, sir. All right.
Starting point is 02:21:46 So we're going. All right. All right. So if we're going off of ESPN. That's our new segment. If we're going off of ESPN list. Right. Right.
Starting point is 02:21:57 If Kobe by their list has never been number two to question number one, they wouldn't have never had the negative narrative on it. Like he said, that's challenging Jordan, right? So for the most part... 2024, Hoops Hype did a list. They had Kobe number eight all time. Number eight all time. Damn, Hoops Hype.
Starting point is 02:22:17 Okay. So when Jordan went to number one in 89, 90, 91, no one bashed Kareem for jumping to number two. They just talked about it. Number three, four, five, six, seven, right? What I'm saying is if LeBron, by the consensus, has been the only one to challenge Jordan's legacy, then what he is saying is the reason why.
Starting point is 02:22:45 If everyone thinks he could be number one, when you say he's number two, you're trying to explain why he's not number one. So that means you got to bash him to make sure he's number two. Instead of just saying, Jordan's number one, he's number two. If he wins, we can't bash him. 2024 Sporting News had Kobe Bryant number 10.
Starting point is 02:23:11 If he wins, it'd be nothing to bash. Again. 2024 Sporting News did a list. If I could just get this out, Nick. 2024 Sporting News did a list. They had Kobe Bryant 10. 2023 Complex did a list. They had Kobe Bryant number five.
Starting point is 02:23:25 Damn, Complex. Why didn't I expect that? So, it don't matter what your opinion is, but this is a fact, just read the list. Read from 2010. Okay, 2010, show them where he is in 2010. All I'm just saying, win. Win six
Starting point is 02:23:41 rings, it won't be nothing to bash. Why? I think anybody who's not number one, you're getting it. What I'm saying is, what I'm saying is. There's a negative. Okay, let's try. Let's try. Gold medal, right?
Starting point is 02:23:57 The gold medal race, right? Noel Lyles came in first, right? Yep. Someone came in second, right? Did anyone bash him for getting silver? Did anyone talk about why he came in second, right? Did anyone bash him for getting silver? Did anyone talk about why he came in second? Or did they just congratulate him for coming in second place? You don't even know who came in second.
Starting point is 02:24:14 Of course. That's not why we're watching the race, though. You want the world to congratulate the Browns. No, you're not listening, brother. You keep thinking this is a... I'm saying when I ask you for your top five... You know what? Fuck that. Can ask you for your top thought, you know what fuck that Can you tell me your top five favorite cars? I?
Starting point is 02:24:29 Don't got nothing. Okay. What do you like? What do I buy? What do you like? What do you like? I got over bins Why you like the ring over? Some truck into white like the beans Because it's like it's just I just like the bins.? Because it's like, it's just, I just like the Benz. Okay, what's number three? I like the, well, Porsche is one because two-door. Porsche is one? Yeah, yeah. So you like the Porsche?
Starting point is 02:24:52 Because the two-door and the race car. Okay, number two? The two's is the Range Rover because the family. Hold on, man, we're talking here. Number three. And then the Benz is, you know, when I just want my everyday. And then if I had to go an old school car like a low rider. Uh-huh. And then a 5.0 like Ford.
Starting point is 02:25:07 Okay. Off the show. Okay. Can you tell me your top five players? My top five players ever. And then explain. My top five players ever, Steph Curry, winner, greatest shooter ever. Uh, I'm gonna go kobe winner I'm gonna go lebron james winner. I'm gonna go tim duncan winner. I'm gonna go shaq winner. Okay But that's me. Yes, this is but now but you see it the cars All positive, right? This is this is your this is your list The nba you thought about it
Starting point is 02:25:43 You said it right but winner when you you didn't bash anything about why they're not and that's what I'm trying to explain to this dude over here for sure but but like when it's on but like when we're having a debate about it everybody's going to talk about why he's not number one though so yes yes to you of course if I'm saying my of course I'm not going to say anything bad but I if somebody say yo well, well, this is why he's two. Okay, well, yeah, this is why he's two, three, four, five. But that's what I'm saying. There's a reason why he's not number one. But they only do it if you let somebody tell you their top ten and why.
