Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to Gills Arena, presented my underdog. Whoa, whoa! How everybody feeling today? Good. Good. I want to see you read that telepronker right now. I want to see me try to read that too right now, okay? That's why I have a unique set of skills that keeps you prepare for all conditions.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Man. Right? A.W.G. Some important news to address. So last week, Swaggy, Homlin, have you returned to the family? Yeah, you know, I don't know. Yeah, me at home for like two days. I'm good now, man.
Starting point is 00:00:32 She's open. Swaggy's back. Swaggy is back in business. Is that a second pair? Yeah. The brown was like... So you had the brown ones, and then you bought those two? They sent them to me.
Starting point is 00:00:46 No. I'm something like... I'm something special. So Louis... That's Louis Vuitton? Yeah. Oh, okay. That's a baton.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Bataan, okay. I'm about... A Louis Vuitton. I thought it was Louis. It's hard. You got a fine street. You got to find shit. You said butt up.
Starting point is 00:01:04 You got to find shit. Town town. Okay. Yeah. It looked like that. Brian and James. That's hard. You see that?
Starting point is 00:01:12 Only me and Bronny and LeBron got this. You see it's both of them on here. It's a moment when they shot. That's one of three. One of three. The shirt. Yeah, one of three. Wait, what?
Starting point is 00:01:23 One of three. Me, Brony and Brian. Brown. Yeah. Only ones with that shirt. And little Nick. It's like a junior. Okay, okay, a little dick I want to.
Starting point is 00:01:31 I'm pretty sure it came with the shoes. Buy two, get three shirts to free. Anywho, this is Gilles Arena, presented by Underdog. Boop. I'm earlier host Josiah Johnson, and as always, we got the NBA and NBA 2K legend. Gilbert Arenas here with us. Gailer Diggins' throwback.
Starting point is 00:01:54 I like it. Autograph. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're the only person I know that wears autographed jersey. That's great. in their regular wardrobe. Because it makes them better than the regular one. Because even if it's like swing man,
Starting point is 00:02:08 swing man is better than authentic if they got the autograph on it. She wore that? Huh? She wore that? You can fit? That were the same size? Anywho. See the next to Gil.
Starting point is 00:02:20 We got NBA champion of the world's swaggy Pete, Nick Young. And on this side of the couch, Dressed to Impress the distinguished gentleman from Oak Cliff, former number one pick. Kenya Martin back here with us. I'm really feeling the coordination. I don't know. You got a cordial. First and please.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Last but not least, representing tough crowd and a card-carrying country club member. We got Mr. B. Brandon Jennings here. Are you trying to tell us something? What? Hey, are you like a coach or are you trying to be part of the coach staff? No, I'm a country club member. This is a golf, golf tire, but it is bucks related. I have my shirt under.
Starting point is 00:03:07 You don't want to live in Milwaukee. Huh? I got my golf shirt on there. But you got a golf shirt on a golf shirt. Yeah, because it's cold, so, you know, it's cold. I don't want you to do that year. No, I'm just wondering, I'm like, man, he's been real, like coaches, like, like, like he's like going on the sideline or something for the bucks or something.
Starting point is 00:03:24 It's hard out here. Some people are employed, some people are not. I need that. All right. Yeah. What's wrong with you today? All right. No, I need that.
Starting point is 00:03:33 That shit looks fire. Oh, the beanie. The beanie. Oh, I thought you were talking about the shirt. Oh, man. The fuck wants a buck shirt. The bucks don't want the buck shirt. No, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. The bucks start here. The bucks start here. No, there's like few items that players don't wear out in public. P.
Starting point is 00:03:56 What the fucking wrong? It already started. It already started. Why he started spinning? No, I'm just saying, just like... What they got to do with you, though? They got to do with shoes. I ain't never seen them do that.
Starting point is 00:04:10 I'm just saying, no, there's certain teams that. You don't, right? There's certain teams that you just don't wear as a player. I'm in public just, it don't... He's no, though. That's why he started laughing at times. I didn't need to do this thing. You just don't want to wear your team gear.
Starting point is 00:04:25 But I love wearing. in the bus. Shout out to Milwaukee, Bucks, City, Milwaukee. So, no, when we were playing, right, if we came downstairs to go to dinner and you had on Team Gear, you can't go with me. No, no. Shit like that, like,
Starting point is 00:04:38 gear, period, period. In the summer, you're wearing gear out. There's just some gear. You're not wanting team gear. Some franchises you should just not be caught in. What is it? That's one of them. No wizard slander.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Wizards is one of them, for sure. Not them. No, Wizards is one of them. Stop, yeah. Wizards is one of them jerseys is one of them jerseys. No. Because you don't like the pelicans. That wasn't even a team back then.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Hornets. Hornets. For sure. The Hornets. Milwaukee. Hey, the Hornet starter jacket is all back in the West. No, no, no, no. People wore KG.
Starting point is 00:05:08 No, no. Yeah, that was it. Not, not. Utah. Jersey. No, Utah. As a player. As a player, only Utah.
Starting point is 00:05:15 You did not wear your shirt. The typical one's logo was hard back in the day. To wear, where? That logo was tough. That logo was tough. But Wizards. For sure. bucks shit. No, Utah.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Uh-huh. Only people in Utah going to wear it. Then wear. Miami was popping. Yeah. No, that might. Yeah. Chicago, you could wear that.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Chicago, Miami, any of them color. Lakers. Yeah. It's the colors, man. Like the hornet's color kind of look cool. Like San Antonio is another team. Short hornetton. The original.
Starting point is 00:05:49 The original. Yeah. Yeah. Back in the art of time. Yeah. People getting marked for. Cavs, only people in the lap. Nobody wear that.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Start it. You're not getting caught no calves gear. Hey, Shig, I wear the cap shirt. You got everybody for the holidays, darling. That's important. Back when the calves were? You don't know the one that wore that motherfucker, too. But we got a lot to discuss.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Dogs play with it. No, I tried to wear it. I tried to wear it, but they end up losing in the first round. I don't know how I keep finding that shit to wear. The shirt he got just finding a random place. They just came popping up. Yeah. Saying Swaggy, wear me.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Swaggy put me out, dog. Did what I did. Let Jack and both play tug-o-war with that bitch. Well, we got a lot to get into. Here's what's cracking in Gill's Arena today. The Mavs finally fired Nico Harrison just nine months after the Luca trade. Where does Dallas go from here? The NBA revealed their plans for the USA versus the World 2026 all-star game.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Will the new format make fans want to watch the game again? So, let's get right into the biggest news in the league this week. A little more than nine months after arguably the worst trade in sports history, the Mavs finally obliged fans as Fire Niko Chance by actually firing NICO. The dismissal came during a meeting with Governor Patrick Dumont Tuesday morning, just hours after the Mavs blew a double-digit fourth quarter lead and a home loss of the Bucks Monday night,
Starting point is 00:07:48 where the fire Niko chance broke out yet again, including in the final moments of the game with PJ Washington at the line with a chance to send it to overtime. Dumont announced the news with an open letter to MAZ fans which read in part no one associated with the Mavericks organization
Starting point is 00:08:03 is happy with the start of what we all believe would be a promising season. You have high expectations for the Mavericks and I share them with you when the results told me the expectations is my responsibility to act. I've made the decision to part ways with general manager Nico Harrison.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Going to game. Though the majority of the 25, 26, This season remains to be played, and I know our players are deeply committed to a winning culture. This decision was critical to moving our franchise forward in a positive direction. I understand the profound impact these difficult last several months have had. Please know that I'm fully committed to the success of the Mavericks. Thank you for your support. Thank you for holding us accountable, and thank you for your passion and for your patience.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Our goal is to return winning basketball to Dallas and win championships, plural. So after the announcement, Harrison wasted no time updating his Instagram bio. let's take a look previously it said GM of the Dallas Mavericks Nico was Hooper back in his day too for those who didn't know switched to to Girl Dad
Starting point is 00:08:59 Unemployed What the fuck up He didn't grow dad though He's trying to really tug at the heart straight He's smart And since taking over his MAF GM in June of 2021 Harrison's tenure has been filled
Starting point is 00:09:10 with highs and lows Hives of the Mazz reaching the conference finals in 2022 and the NBA finals in 2024 for the first time since 2011 and the low of trading Luca to the Lakers for Anthony Davis Max Christie and won first round pick.
Starting point is 00:09:23 We appreciate you, Nick. So since the Luca trade, the Mavs are 16 to 28 with a 3-N-A start this season. The second worst record in the West. Meanwhile, the man Harrison in the Mavs claimed was a fat, no defense playing. Luka smoking alcoholic is averaging 37, 9, and 9 for the Lakers. Michael Finley and Matt Ricardy
Starting point is 00:09:40 will serve as the Mavs corner of Moms moving forward. So we want to open it up to the couch. Did the Mavs make the right move firing Nico Harrison. Can you let's start with you, representing from Oak Cliff strong Dallas ties
Starting point is 00:09:52 it was it was inevitable to start the season off the way they have Anthony Davis is going having surgery not looking the way he thought he was going to look
Starting point is 00:10:07 from day one last year he got hurt the first game he played last year so this is the new owner comes out and says they made a mistake, right? With the trade, it was a mistake.
Starting point is 00:10:26 He just said that. But ultimately, it was your decision. Yeah. That man brought it to you, and you had the right to say, no, you had the opportunity to tell him to get the fuck out your office. Like, talking nonsense. Like, you should have fired Nico then. When he comes to you asking you to trade your franchise 26-year-old,
Starting point is 00:10:45 one of the best players in NBA, you should have fired him then. for even having a thought to bringing that to you like this is what I'm thinking are you out of your mind are you high you know what bring the piss man here you need to be tested give him a cup right give him a cup right now and you go trade for a guy in Anthony Davis who technically he's had one healthy season since they wanted in the bubble played 77 games 78 games one healthy season since 2020 and that's the guy who the owner okayed to bring in, like, during his trade. So just a little odd, but I think you can't have home games, every game, that going on, for a Niko chance. So it was inevitable, in my opinion. So AD played 62 games in that 2020 championship season. Follow that up with 36 games.
Starting point is 00:11:39 You said it in 2020? Yeah. So was that all the games? No. How many games was in 20? 72, I believe. 72. But, see, you sure?
Starting point is 00:11:47 I think it was 72. In 2020, during COVID? There was a break, then they came back. And they only missed 10 games? No, maybe, maybe a little more. I said the 72 was the next year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why I looked at your train.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Okay, I appreciate it, holding me accountable. Like Patrick Dumont is holding himself accountable. Like I said, he ain't been healthy. For you to trade for him, he hasn't been healthy. And it's reined his ugly head again in this situation. Yeah, it's, yeah, it was inevitable. I think for me it was Nico the whole time was just a scapegoat for this whole situation I don't think Luca and the owner ever really got along because I think Luca's a Cuban guy so you
Starting point is 00:12:31 know all the fall goes on on Nico and you know at the end day you know the owner does make the decision so at the end he was okay with it but I think that relationship with Luca and the owner you know they just threw Nico in the in that situation so you know he was the scapego for that situation. Because there were 71 games in that bubble season. Number seven one? The shutdown, obviously, late March. They came back and finished.
Starting point is 00:12:52 How many did he play that year? 62 of the 71, then followed that up by 72. No, he's, no. No, they played 72 next year? Yeah, and he played, I believe, 36 of those. Then 40, then 56, and then 76 in the 24 season. He's only had one health season. They won a championship.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Yeah. 51, 51 game, last. Just my point, he's only had one healthy season since they wanted in the bubble. The bubble year. Just they wanted in the bubble. Yeah. He won. But he ain't been healthy.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Who said anything about? Nobody. My point is he ain't. We're talking about the, you know, he said a certain amount of games in the bubble. I was like, I don't remember. 62 of the 71 games that season and then it's played, I think, 76 in the 20. Yeah. You trade a young megastard, though, but Anthony, like, even on Anthony Davis's best day.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Like, no, like, he's one of the best in this when he is healthy. But even on his best day, he's not better than Bucca. No, on his best day when he was with New Orleans, that 20, 27, 26, 27, and 13, 14, 2.5 blocks, like that, Anthony Davis? Still not better. Even with the Lakers. He's giving you more. Even with the Lakers, he's giving you all of that.
Starting point is 00:13:57 But I think the point is the- It's not the same person. I get you the percent. You trade Luka, generational talent, 25, I believe, at the time, five-time first team all-M-B-A selections for Anthony Davis, Max Christi, and one singular first-round pick. I think Mazz fans obviously felt betrayed with the Luka trade, but also the return, probably pissed him off even more.
Starting point is 00:14:14 But I think it was Cooper Flagler got him fired. No, 3 and 8 got him fired. Cooper Flag got him fired. No, 3 and 8. Not 3 and 8 got him fired. Because it wasn't, when he got drafted, it was no fire Lucas for me. I mean, no fire Nico for a minute. If they're 10 and 1 right now, 9 and 2, if they 10 and 1, 9 and 2,
Starting point is 00:14:36 Nico still has his job. That's what I'm saying. So Cooper Flack still average 15 and 7? 3 and 8. He's a rookie. He's wonderful. Everybody was happy with Dallas. They're going to be one of the biggest teams in the league.
Starting point is 00:14:48 They got Cooper flags. And it looks like this. So you fired Nico. Because they started 3 and 8. Started 3 and 8. Strang good at home to start the season. Had a long stretch of holding, I think 5threat home games that opened the season. Karee being out, Anthony Davis not being where he needs to be,
Starting point is 00:15:04 having a rookie who you depend on who don't understand the NBA game yet. You don't really have a true point guard out there. It's a lot of things that led to 3 and 8. And the main reason is Luke could not be in there. So, listen. And it don't help. He started the season the way he started on it. So, Gil, did the math make the right move firing Nico Harrison at this point in the season?
Starting point is 00:15:27 The right move to fire him, yes, because one, you have, you have Cooper Flagg there who is going to be your future. And the fact that the fans are refusing to let it go and they're just going to keep. keep being annoying about it, then, yes, you're going to have to remove it so they can shut the fuck up at this point. Because, you know, it really is annoying. If you're a Cooper flag, he's shooting free throws.
Starting point is 00:15:57 You're not doing this shit when the other team is doing it. Shooting free throw, you're doing it when your own team is doing it. So that makes you delusional anyway. Yeah. Right? So at that point, you've got to get rid of. Now, the problem with this excuse is who gives you?
Starting point is 00:16:13 gives this shit if it's a mistake. It was a mistake as soon as you ain't it. We all said it was a mistake. We all was, when the world stopped, you made a mistake. That's when you know you made, when the world, like, whoa. The fuck, is this an earthquake? That's when you made the mistake.
Starting point is 00:16:35 But where was the, it was that energy where you said, if you look at the great Jordan Bird, Kobe Shack, and I knew you fucked up when you said, that name. They worked really hard every day with the singular focus to win. And if you don't have that, it doesn't work. And if you don't have that, you shouldn't be a part of the Dallas Maverick. That's who we want. That was your fucking statement. That was Patrick Dumont statement. Yeah, you made all these statements to justify the trade. It wasn't Nico. We didn't hear shit from Nico. They had to beg that motherfucker to do a goddamn interview. He was hiding. You came out and put all this extra on that man's name, calling a man fat. Even though how he started, great, got hurt for a long period of time, came back out of shape. Y'all was six and two during his play. And the impulse of this trade is where you are now.
Starting point is 00:17:35 Impulsiveness. You're talking about a guy who at 22 got you to Western Carpice finals? Then got you to the finals at 25. That's the guy you say don't know nothing about winning. Right, right, right. Right, right. So, I mean, I really, like you're talking about age, what he's doing was very different. At his age right now, he has more first teams than Steph Curry.
Starting point is 00:18:03 At his age, already has more than Steph. His career. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Right? He was moving different. Mm-hmm. Out the gates.
Starting point is 00:18:14 If he was healthy last year, that would have been first team. This year, as long as he's playing, first team. Maybe. No, it's looking like the NBA. As long as he's playing, he's a first team. His first team all-N-BA player. Him by himself. Defense or not.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Who gives the shit what you're talking about? He changes the game. You build the team around him. If he don't play defense, God damn it, there's four other spots that do. Seth Curry didn't play. defense they found people to do it and found a way to win oh you know he's a liability how did that shit work who was the liability that was guarding him huh because they played this they played charlotte last you know charlotte watching the game they have a defensive player on him
Starting point is 00:19:02 Luca had what 38 the guy he was guarding had what four five yeah didn't look like he didn't look like he had to waste no energy in that game He just got to play one-sided. So when you think about the game like that, you're not thinking like a real athlete to stop a tiger, you need a tiger. That tiger has to give him that fight. So if you have a guy that does not score,
Starting point is 00:19:28 I'm not doing nothing. I'm just sitting here resting. They kept putting the white boy to pick and roll in Charlotte games. Austin Reed and Luke, wherever the white boy was going. But I'm saying, Yeah, yeah. But if you put a, if you put somebody in to go at him.
Starting point is 00:19:46 You have to put somebody in, yeah. That's going to go at him. You got, you put in two guys who don't play no defense. Trust me, they're going to tire themselves out, run around trying to score. So I don't want to hear about anything they got going on, man. Y'all made a mistake. Y'all deal with it.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Now. But for me, it's just coming down, though. In the beginning, they wasn't saying Channing Fire Lucas. Yeah, they were. They said from day one, but that's the start of this season. Yes, yes, every game. You spent every game, right? I think it didn't start to the second game, if I'm not mistaken, but it's been, but it's
Starting point is 00:20:22 many little times, local restaurants going to start. Funerals. He lost the first home game. Boom up on fire! Yeah, yeah. But I mean, but what do you expect? Your leading score is damn near your rookie, average in 15. Well, how many games you think you're going to win?
Starting point is 00:20:39 Once Anthony Davis went down, down, there was no expectation of y'all winning. Unless y'all are that delusional. You have what's wrong with 80? You have Kyrie gone. 80's out. Who else you think is about to just take the team on his back?
Starting point is 00:20:56 You know what I mean? So there was no expectation. So it's easy to fire him now. Yeah, better get, yeah. So with the math, there's a distraction. Right. So with the maps, do they, so to get another mega star, superstar like Luca, they'll probably have to go through the draft? Because do you think any other player would come there?
Starting point is 00:21:11 Yeah, no, Dallas or high school? Yeah, that, for sure. After that? Because it wasn't him, like, he didn't, he didn't do it and do it. Well, the person that did it, gone, now the owner is taking ownership. It just seemed like the owner. I don't know if they had that relationship, right? Cuban had, like, Cuban had certain relationship with certain team, right, where they had those pipelines.
Starting point is 00:21:28 I don't know if he's going to have it. Great point. So I know you want to put, you know, Nico in the middle of this, but it's like, it backfires you as an organization because now it's like, you know, you probably have to wait to get a megastar, Superstar, through the draft. Well, what if they got one? I'm saying like, no. No, what I'm saying is, all right, their pipeline, I know they had a pipeline with us, Wizards.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Okay. Right? So when they was trading, they did a lot of work between the two teams. Yeah. Right? And it seems like they do have a pipeline between Lakers.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Okay. So they had that pipeline where when you think about some of their trades, think about where these guys are coming from. So most likely there's teams that teams, is that team up and I'm going to trade with you. You got something I need. I got something you need.
Starting point is 00:22:13 So when it comes to superstars, I mean, there's not a lot of superstars for you to be trying to trade from the stars, but superstars, you got a name. You don't need no other superstar. You need to just build the team around him. But you had a megastar, though. You had a megastar. I mean, Cooper Flagg is not a mega. Cooper Flagg can be a mega.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Okay, could. Put new balance on his back. But my thing, when Luca came in and he was already showing that he's going to be a mega star. Like, that's what I'm saying. Was Luca already a megastar at that point of the trade? Internation? Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Yeah. Luca? I mean, Luca had just came from being in a... No, no, no, no. He was big... Who, Luca? Remember, he was the youngest player to play against a pro team. He played against the Boston Celtic.
Starting point is 00:22:55 What, that 13? Yes, yes. It was like a shack. One year old year old, but I would say he was a megastar when that trade went down. You get bigger. But I'm not going to feel sorry for Dallas because if you're a businessman, which they are only the fans care that you got rid of Luca you don't care that you got rid of Luca because before that trade would you bought that franchise with
Starting point is 00:23:22 3.5 you traded Luca that franchise now is worth 5 billion so if you sold today you made money so you really don't give a shit that you got rid of him you just want to appease your fans so they can still support the team but business wise that lucre trade helped all 30 owners legors got there 10 billion uh clippers they bumped up to about eight new york is going to be at 11 or 12 or 10 they're there and everybody else scales up hey more than i like it's them too it just and then so basically since la is 10 uh new york can go out there and say hey we were 12 and in lakers come back Hey, we worked there today, but everybody else just gets to move on up, hey.
Starting point is 00:24:12 Thank you, big dogs. So what does the Lakers never really win? So what does no team never win? Is it a mistake? Because they just look better. Like, don't you got to win a championship to be considered the team to be a mistake? It's selling for $10.1 billion, you're better than the champions. You won.
Starting point is 00:24:30 I'm just saying that we won. But if we don't win, like, it's all. Let me try this again. Let me just, let me just. I know the stats and shit look good, but don't you got to win? Like when AD came in from New Orleans, he won. That's the win for us. He won because of him.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Shit, A.D. was the best big. Let me ask you something. He played great. Let's be honest, who. Shut up, boy. He wasn't the best big in the league then? Probably not, no. When AD won a championship.
Starting point is 00:25:00 He wasn't the best big in the league. Who was better than him? At that time, 2020. That's what I'm saying. AD was the best big in the league. Best power for it? No, no, no, no. It would have been Janus at that time.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Yannis already had with two MVPs, right? At MVP or, yeah, he had one of it at least. Remember, he was giving AD buckets. Like, he was killing AD. Because they won it the next year. He wanted the next year. And he was the best big and elite. But I mean, if you're calling him a four, then it'd be in B, probably.
Starting point is 00:25:30 But we're calling him three. He was not messing with AD that. He was in front of Yokage at that point. Yeah, yeah. 2020, Yoakins said, all right, oh, that's what we're doing around here? All right, I got something for y'all. Watch this. I'm fucking around and found out.
Starting point is 00:25:45 And they was nice. Don't mean, wrong, I'm not taking anything off his play, but I wouldn't call it at the time. He wasn't the best being in the league. But if you said who won, if I got to sell my team for $10 billion. I know what I'm saying? For a guy who's just been here 30-some games, yeah, I won. Of course, these don't matter. But that's what?
Starting point is 00:26:05 That's a business. I mean, as I said, if Dallas, if Dallas sold today, day one. Because you normally trade for somebody that, you know, you think you're going to win the championship for. Put pieces around him. He took Dallas to the championship. There's a great possibility that he can win here. You put the right pieces around him, yes. Kane, that's the nicest thing you said about the election.
Starting point is 00:26:27 No, I'm saying, because I look at the talent. I'm honest about what I see. No, Luca put bodies in the seats, man. Like, he's a showman. He's a showman. So, and this is where, like, you brought another showman into Los Angeles, I'm saying? That's what's, like, that's what people want to come see. Like, numbers and seats, hot seat, and that's what it is.
Starting point is 00:26:49 So we asked the chat, did the Mavs make the right decision of firing Nico Harrison? 75% of the chat said firing Nico was a good move. But let's keep... 25, the 25, last name, Harrison. So Nico Harrison received the bulk of the blame for the Luca trade, but according to the report, Mav's ownership and head coach Jason Kidd were aligned with the move with Dumont approving the deal. He had final say. Obviously, he was a new booty, but he did have Mark Cuban there to run it by.
Starting point is 00:27:15 They were trying to flex on him. Mark Cuban, he said no. No? So Dumont was sitting courtside at the Bucks game Monday. His first time at a game since their season opener on October 22nd was seen interacting with a Mavs fan in a Luca Lakers jersey for several minutes. So according to reports, the fans' family is a season ticket holder with seats. a few rows behind Dumont. Fan wanted to apologize to Dumont for shouting expletives
Starting point is 00:27:39 and giving him the finger during the season opener. During the exchange, Dumont admitted trading Luca was a mistake and took accountability. Then he fired Nico Harrison the next morning. But we talked about this a little bit, but how much blame does Nico Harrison actually deserve for the Luca trade and the current state of the math? Like I said before, he's a scapegoat.
Starting point is 00:27:58 So they needed somebody to blame. And the Lakers going to pick him up or what? Of course. About to say, he got to. Pick who Nico There's only one CD that's man
Starting point is 00:28:10 He definitely gonna get another He might not get another guy Not a GM job Okay As a GM As a GM Remember that That's why I don't listen
Starting point is 00:28:21 To them people right there You just gave that man an extension You was just celebrating them Oh my God This is the smartest man I know Until he wasn't My movement tells They weren't.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Now. It wasn't them. No, but no, no, no. It was the previous regime. No, I thought the new owner gave him the extension. Yeah. What did we say? Right?
Starting point is 00:28:44 I think the new owner gave him an extension, right? But then the new owner and Luca don't get along? Yeah. Oh, man. Yeah. So, the multi-year contract extension in June 2024. Oh, yeah. This is man.
Starting point is 00:28:56 That was right before. I just got here and I'm on the ship. Right? Right. So right after the sale, they thought they was owned or something. Like I said, they should have... They make the finals first time... You know what?
Starting point is 00:29:05 They should have came in that motherfuck and be like... I'm saying, man, when he came in there with the trade... But when he brought the trade into him, he should have let... But that's what I said. There had to be something. Get out. That's what I'm saying. You got to think about it.
Starting point is 00:29:16 No, no, you've got to think about it, though. There's a season that started, and then he's missing some games. You know, when the nigger misses some games, we act different when we hurt. And then he comes back, six and two. Then you get rid of him. Not 0 and 8, 6 and 2, then you get rid of them, right? So there had to be the conversations between them. Like, yeah, hey, he's on one, he's this and that and that.
Starting point is 00:29:46 So they were all in agreeing of getting rid of the guy who just got them to the finals, right? Because if you think about, and I know a lot of media don't know this, if you think about the players they try to trade them for and make sense. They went to Minnesota. We want Anthony Edwards. You want to make this trade? They said, no. What is he?
Starting point is 00:30:10 Two-way player. He plays offense and he plays defense. After that, hey, Spurs. Want to get rid of Winby? No. What is he? Defensive, two-way player. Hey, Lakers.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Hey, man, y'all got 20 hours. I'm trying to trade locally. What's up? Wait, what? You're trying to trade Luca? Look, hold on. Hold on, we got something for you, and that's how that worked out. We have a two-way play.
Starting point is 00:30:35 So they were trying to, in their mind, get defense, and I think what ends up happening is if you stop the trade and you say, all right, we have Kyrie, healthy, we have Anthony Davis, right? We got PJ Tucker who plays defense. We have Clay, plays defense, plays offense, right? Gafford and them. We got our point guard who, we got our big man,
Starting point is 00:31:01 And, like, we, you know, we got a team. Yeah, I know he damn an average of triple double, but on, we are a solid-ass team, and we can possibly get there and win it with this team. Like, if we're thinking about it, like, if we take what they thought they would have, right, and put them and replace them into that finals against Boston, what does that series look like?
Starting point is 00:31:25 So they're probably sitting there thinking with that. Now what ends up happening is, Kyrie goes down right Anthony Davis goes down now now Nick Noah's boo now because We will still have Luca
Starting point is 00:31:37 He's playing Yeah You know but I remember I said from the beginning Dallas is never going to recover Because of his age His age Has about 8 to 12 more years
Starting point is 00:31:52 You have to watch this man Turn into what it looks like He was already going to turn into MVP, finals MVP, a champion. You have to watch that in real time. Every loss you have, 40.
Starting point is 00:32:08 I don't... Cooper Flag turned into that, too, though. To them. It's going to take time, though. It's going to take time. But Luca came in, though, like... But even with Cooper Flagg, I mean, by the time Cooper Flagg
Starting point is 00:32:20 gets into the point where he is winning for them, you get to watch a man average 37, 11th, right now, today. Next year, the following year. You just got to sit there with your 77s on. Like, yeah. Yeah. It's tough.
Starting point is 00:32:39 So it was that finals win. The way Luca looked and got mad and was looking on defense, how everybody was talking about him in the media. That was... No, I don't think though. I think it was just the ownership. I don't think him and the owner get alone. And I think him and the owner never talked.
Starting point is 00:32:54 And Cuban, that's Luca's guy. Because Luca being on that stage, everybody watching, watching, it did look kind of crazy. Reports that Luca and Nico didn't see out of either. Nico wasn't really messing with Luca like that. Probably, I mean, but that's what everything had been is. The new ownership come in, they want to change things. You said, what's crazy?
Starting point is 00:33:10 He said it looked crazy in the finals. It didn't look crazy? Didn't you ever be 30? Did he ever be 30? 30, 32, 8 and 8? I look crazy. I mean, but nobody had when I said, did you guys have Dallas winning? Did you guys have Dallas winning?
Starting point is 00:33:22 That shit, too. It always looks crazy. Man, that's the real. Did anybody have Dallas winning? Hell no. No. But with the team, he just said in the finals, that team... You know what I mean? Defensively, they look a lot better, right?
Starting point is 00:33:38 Now you're talking about controlling the paint, right? Now you have Anthony Davis. Now, you've got to think about it. Andy Davis has to guard who? Or no, Tatum has to guard Anthony Davis in the post. Or Horford? Huh? Through Horford?
Starting point is 00:33:51 No, Horford got to guard the five. Gafford and them running up and down. So, you know what I mean? So they're probably looking at stuff like that. which is not the right way to look. I'm glad you said it. I was waiting on you because I have damn show was about to say the wrong way to be looking at it.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Yeah, no, it was definitely... It's over for them, man. They had a good year. They had a good year, man. You know, the Western Conference Finals is in the end. And, you know, right now, what are you going to do? You're going to look at Andy Davis said, yo, how many games we got out of you?
Starting point is 00:34:23 Nine, we're ready to trade you. For sure. Let's get into that. After the Luca trade, Nico Harrison said time will tell that he made the right move. He won't be there to see if his prediction come true. But the Mavs have yet to be at full strength since dealing with Luca in February. Like we mentioned, Kyrie's been out since March with the ACL injury. AD has played in 14 of a possible 44 games.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Currently dealing with the calf strain this season that's sidelined for the last six games. After reportedly showing up the training camp 15 pounds heavier than he did last season, Derek Lodley's only played in three games. Clay Thompson, been moved to the bench while averaging a career low, seven points per game. Now the reports that the Mavs are looking to trade, both Clay and A.D. So should the Mavs still have faith in this roster until
Starting point is 00:35:05 Kyrie's return, or is it time to blow it up? What did you just say that they are trading them? According to reports they're exploring. So that means it's happening? I mean, it has not happened. That's just they're looking into it. Okay, so what you're thinking is
Starting point is 00:35:23 if they just sit and wait until next year? To see what we have? I mean, according to Jackson, Kid, Kyrie, on schedule. I'll say, hold up, man. I mean, I know people hate when I do this. What? People hate when I do this.
Starting point is 00:35:40 What? Here we go. What you're about to say, man. You have one dude who got the, uh, the, the Matilda body, you know? You know, came in now and now, obviously that calf strain, you know, he, you know, he got the matilda body right now. He's, he's injury prone for. whatever odd reason.
Starting point is 00:36:00 You have Kyrie out. With them two being out for at least another month or two, and with Andy Davis, we already know that calf turns into Achilles. So you better watch out. You got to watch out for the rest of your career. I mean, you know, four, if you want to have
Starting point is 00:36:16 a longer career. So, I'm shutting it down. Anthony Davis, sit, Kyrie, get healthy sit Cooper Flagg, whoever
Starting point is 00:36:32 do y'all think if I can trade but if I don't want to trade and wait for next year I want my team healthy for next year Cooper Flagg do you go out there and try to just turn your motor in I want you to be the point guard two three four five I want you to
Starting point is 00:36:48 just try to figure out what you can add and then going into next year we have our pieces If we can trade Clay get something better Then you can do that if I really believe in this franchise I mean in this in this team if they're all healthy Because if they're all healthy I mean it is going to be very different team
Starting point is 00:37:10 I mean your three four five is your three four five is big as fuck That's a big if no what I'm saying is if if they come in and everybody and they said everybody You got Cooper flag at 611 as your three Anthony Davis four gap at the fiber, lifelad at the fight, that's a big-ass unit. That's a big-ass unit. You know what I mean, right?
Starting point is 00:37:33 And then you got, at the two, you're going to have PJ Washington. Come off the bench. You didn't get to come up? Then they got a final two. He can't go on this if shit with Dallas. It's time to blow that shit. He can't guard the two?
Starting point is 00:37:46 I don't think so. But do you have to, with them three, seven footers back there? Yeah, you got to run around. Chase the motherfuckers. Because I know, I know, hey, I know when you was in Denver, The two couldn't guard me, but I knew one place I wasn't going.
Starting point is 00:38:01 If I got by you, Marcus Camby's right there. If I got by Marcus, you was right there. So, I mean, you know, that's... Huh? What season is it? I think he said this same shit last season on this couch. About the same team that look good, going to have a big lineup. Let me tell them, let's trade everybody, man.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Let's trade AD-ass. It's time. You can't keep doing this. No, I don't do it. If shit, oh, man, they got 80. We're talking about the hypotheticals if this roster was healthy. PJ Washington, they're healthy with Kyrie. I said, I'm sitting them.
Starting point is 00:38:33 I'm sitting them so they can be healthy. They're going to be good, man. No, I said, I'm sitting them. They're going to eat and shit. Just come on. I said, I'm sitting them so they can be healthy for next year. I wouldn't even waste my time, even trying to bring Anthony Davis back. They're going to get healthy.
Starting point is 00:38:47 They're getting another year older. Karee is another year older. Clay, another year older? No, he's extended. He gave up on Clay. They gave up on them. The office is not made for Clay. I mean, there's some pieces over there in Sacramento
Starting point is 00:38:59 that they're trying to get rid of, too. Man. Oh, it's a lot of movies. They need to blow that. They start having Megan perform and having. I'm saying, it's a lot of pieces out there to be made. Megan, get out there. At this point, man, it's like, hey, Clay, man.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Hey, hey, can you perform? Can you get her to do whoop real quick? Can you give me a couple minutes? Shit, just do all whopping. The fans are love. Clay did have 28 against the bucks. They did have 28 against the bucks. They're just doing that.
Starting point is 00:39:23 No, with Clay, man. You got to put, you got to get him part of office, man. If he ain't part of office, man. He's just out there, just, you know, he's just out there just, he'll be a good fit in L.A. He should have killed out of that. Wait that loop, word for 80. Oh!
Starting point is 00:39:43 You coming back? Clay need to go to dinner. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Dallas. I like Denver for him. Hey, Dallas, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, you need, Trying to get rid of AED. We'll take him back. We'll take him to Clayback.
Starting point is 00:39:59 We'll take him back. Now we've got a Luca and AD. What? Hey, if that happened, that would be the fucking trick bag out of his world. They're trying to trade AD, and we fuck around him. We give them first round picks. We give them first round picks. No.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Don't they connect. We'll give you everybody. We just won't Luca. but we just full Luca still. As long as we keep, for long as I got Luca. Can they do that right now? They can do that right now.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Let's talk. Has anybody did that? Nobody got traded. Nobody got traded and then actually, and I know someone had to do it for them to put a rule in, that they got traded and then end up somehow like.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Got a weight of a certain amount of months. Okay. All right, well, Nico Harrison getting booted, overshadowed what was Cooper Flagg's best game so far in his rookie season. Let's take a look at the highlights if we can please. So I know we've talked a lot about Flagg on this couch only 18 years old, but Flagg gave Mazz fans reason for optimism dropping a career high 26 points on 9 to 15 shooting along with nine rebounds and four assists. Flagg also scored six of those points in clutch
Starting point is 00:41:14 time including a driving layup over Yannis with 27 seconds remaining to give Dallas a one-point lead. He's starting to look more comfortable out here. And he is a future of the franchise, as we've already discussed. Like I said, the math looked good in this game for the most part, had a double-digit lead early in the fourth quarter before tricking that off. Then Janus had 15 of his 30 points in that fourth quarter. Oh, spin. Give me that.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Hey. Hey. Hey. Yeah. Get over here. Oh. They haven't going. Hey.
Starting point is 00:41:48 You said. Give me that. Spin. Oh, no. You too little. Ryan, I like Ryan for yawn. Okay, no balance. Oh, is that Janus?
Starting point is 00:41:59 Hey! Is that you, Yonis? Chest to chest with Yonis. Oh, he should have been, he should have did the little, too small. That'd have been great. No. Got to play that man again. Don't do it.
Starting point is 00:42:11 The flagged man, you only live one. That shit worked for social. Hey, yeah, only, hey, listen, you're going to get that. Okay. I'm getting my shit off. Hey. Have 70 next time you see him, like, hey. time you see him like, hey.
Starting point is 00:42:24 So I don't remember. I got a, hey, I got a question now. Hey, I'm going to see it later. Flagg is now averaging 15.7 rebounds, three assists, 42, 26, 89 shooting splits. Gil is Flagg proving he can be a star in this league. I'm telling him. Did you not see what we just watched?
Starting point is 00:42:51 Hey. You see, he's going at a defensive player. Like, Yonis is a high-level defensive player. I thought he's going to go, I mean. So he's out there showing that he has a little bit of everything that, you know what I mean? No matter where you put him, put the ball on his hand, he can make things happen. No, I mean, he's looking like he's about the, it's 15 today in the beginning of the season is the hardest because you don't know nothing. First 10 games.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Yeah, 10 games now. Another 10 games, he's going to look different than them another 10. Yeah, so you've got to look at them in them increments, man. And 10, 10. Like, yeah, let's just look at his growth is like how he's approaching the game. He looks more comfortable in that game. Finding out his spots, finding out defensive tendencies, what guys trying to make him do.
Starting point is 00:43:44 Paying attention to how teams are playing him. Yeah, right? So I think he's calculating that data. This is how they're trying to play me. This is where I can get to my spots. This is what I need to do to be successful. And more games go by. Yeah, he's, yeah, and Jay Kidd is going to put him in a successful situation.
Starting point is 00:44:03 So flagged 11 games in his career so far, 320 point games, scored in double figures in 10 of those 11 games. I know there were some opinions about him in recent weeks. Oh, well. Yeah. Only 18 years old. After one game. You can't make excuse. Man, listen.
Starting point is 00:44:18 I think what he's doing right now is going to help him. Yeah, you've been aggressive. in this NBA career. Aggressive. That's what we look for. Aggression. I think the first game. Like moves?
Starting point is 00:44:28 Like you mean when it comes to moves, right? We watch your movement. We watch what shots you're getting into. Making them comes with experience in overtime. So I just watched, all, he got there. Okay, that looked easy for him. Okay, you hit him with the spin, step back, okay, clear shot. Like, you're making it.
Starting point is 00:44:47 That's when you start getting your reps in of, you know, So his movement, how he gets open, the shots he's taking is elite shots for his size and how he's playing this game. So once he starts mastering this, I mean, he's going to be trouble. Yeah, I like how he take advantage to a little guard. When he had a little guard, he didn't settle for the three, took Ryan a little ass down there. He'll be all right. I think the first game just met people heads up, first impressions.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Did a double-double? But I know you're going to say it's a double-double. No, I'm saying it was a double-double. Well, it looked bad thing. It was a bad double-double. I didn't know a double-double. Bad double. I would love a bad double-double.
Starting point is 00:45:26 You do. I would. I know. But just for me, compared to the way the other rookies started, that kind of messed him up. But he's in balling. He's in balling, man. It's going to be ups and down. Is there a thing as a bad fippy?
Starting point is 00:45:40 Yeah. Is it a bad fiffy? You said anything. Cam Thomas. Kay just, no. I mean, K, 45 with 46, what, 46 with 45 shots? She's terrible. She was slant?
Starting point is 00:45:49 She was slant. She was terrible. I mean, it's terrible, but it's terrible to Zott. Yeah, it's not. Because I mean, you know, like my point, my point. Go up. Go up. There's still a lot.
Starting point is 00:45:59 The percentage might go down. But the position will go up. Definitely went down. The percentage, yes, the position might go down. Yeah. But 50 is 50. 50 is 50. No, I think, no, but I think the position Cooper flag in right now,
Starting point is 00:46:12 running the one at early, at early in his career. I think it's going to help him later on his career. He's averaging 15 to 7. I think, you know, if he keep going at this rate, you know, you can see him between 23, 25 points a game, 12, 14 rebounds. Just by the way it's going in, why he's playing. I love the fact that when Janus came down and dunked, he came down and hit Janus in the chest and got a big bucket. So he's having flashes, and he's going to keep having flashes. So, yeah, man, it's, like, my first game, I came out of that motherfucker, 4 for 16.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Like, next game, I only got six shots, then 14 shots, 17 shots, 15 shots, 15 shots, 17 shots. Yeah, kick then. Yeah, it's, like, yeah, oh, yeah, you. Regression, that's, you know, like, if, I think some people, like, when you're trying to get your confidence at that next level, you took 17 shots before? Well, I'm going to say, but. Like, Nick, don't, like, you really got me fucked up, you got it fucked up. You got it fucked up.
Starting point is 00:47:15 There you go. Let's talk about it. I like this soft-ass soup in there. No, let's talk here, like, let's talk to get this shit out, man. Like, you're like, that's who it, nice, I ain't love it. Like, you got me fucked up. Yeah, thank you, God, damn. Like, you met me when I was coming off the bench.
Starting point is 00:47:30 Like, when I came to y'all, I need some key. Like, when you first saw me, that was two micro fracture surgeons, a pettella surgery later, like, all that shit was later, bro. I'm the same. Them first, listen, you got me fucked. All over here. See that nigga, closed-line niggas for no reason? I did.
Starting point is 00:47:46 He was a childhood video he watched. Don't disrespect the pisses. You know what I mean? It's a bad thing. Talk about offense like it's a bad thing. I was, no, I was, no, they're running plays for him. Like, Nick, don't forget I was him, though. The shit, y'all talk about who was the number one pick.
Starting point is 00:48:02 Don't get it twisted, niggins. You see this man. Like unanimous college player of your number one pick coming off of injury. Don't get it, twisted, niggins. Back then it was different. Who gives a fuck? Back then it was big. Big man.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Yeah, still him. But I'm just saying. Him. 17 shots for a big. Power 4 back. Yes. I went three for 23 in the finals game. You got 20-
Starting point is 00:48:23 You got 20 shots in the finals game? I don't think so. That's why y'all lost. You shot it 23 times, no wonder. I was just fucking. Yeah, absolutely. All right, well. So who else getting 20 shots on the team besides the man?
Starting point is 00:48:37 What I'm saying? I'm just asking. But three for 20? Three for 23, nigga. I kept shooting, yeah. And what's up trying to win, nigga kept shooting. See, at some point it was like, hey, man.
Starting point is 00:48:47 I'm saying that, and that's the problem of my I have, right, when you're talking about gaining confidence at this level, the one thing you don't want to do is beat yourself. And beating yourself is you miss a few shots, then you start thinking about the percentage, where people start thinking, then now you come basile, now you don't want to be aggressive, now you're not taking those.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Now you're questioning yourself, and that's what ends up happening. For sure. Those elites, elites, elites, three for 16, three for seven, five for 20, like, 32. I'm, you know, I took 42 shots to score 42. Like, I'm not letting you stop me. I'm going to keep going because at some point I miss five in a row.
Starting point is 00:49:30 I'm going to make five in a row. I was over 10 in the first half. Wait, wait, wait. 10 for 10 in the second half. Huh? You shot 42 times? I didn't need to shoot 42 times. Oh, my son.
Starting point is 00:49:39 If I shot, if I got the shoot 42 times, brother. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. We have some breaking news. Oh, you seen it too? Breaking news, Shams. Unfortunate, unfortunate news. Nick Young has the Jalen Brown, Beijing in his hair. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:49:56 He's lost this shit. That was not the breaking news I was referring to, but Oh, shit. Upon further investigation. Oh, I thought, oh, I thought. Do you have to Beijing? Oh, you got the Beijing? Oh, I thought, oh, that's not the breaking news?
Starting point is 00:50:10 It does look nice, though. I can't tell. Now, I'm going on my fro. It looks to breaking up. Very smooth lineup. But in all sincerity, we do have some breaking news from Shams, unfortunate news. So Clippers guard Bradley Bill has a fracture in his hip to undergo season ending surgery. So Bill signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Clippers this summer
Starting point is 00:50:28 after his buyout from the Suns, which includes a player option this summer. So far, the season is struggling a little bit, averaging 8 points, 2 assists. Just one rebound appearing in six games. Clippers currently 7 and 3 lost 5 straight games. Kauai Leonard also missed the last 5 games with the right ankle sprain. You hear that news. Obviously, just came down a few minutes ago from Shams. Still and died, man.
Starting point is 00:50:52 Fracturing your hip? How did that happen? When didn't happen during the game? Sure reason. Practice, getting out. No, it don't practice. Get out the bed. They don't practice.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Probably fail. That's a skinny man's injury. That's something Wimby would probably have. Chasing his. I mean, knock on wood, hopefully he does not. Going to the ATM. He trips at the curve, going to the 18. I knew it.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Yeah, man, I know, hey. If he ain't did his shit. I know, like, he's been injured for, what, four years now, man. That juju's bad right now, so, man, he just got to take time to yourself, heal, man. Get away from the game a little bit. I mean, you're out. He's been away from the game. Go be happy.
Starting point is 00:51:32 So get your mood back. Because right now, obviously, you know. This ain't going to help that give? Yeah, well. Let's retire. Getting hurt. They ain't going to help that. So unclear how, you know, you know how it is.
Starting point is 00:51:42 When you fuck, when you fucked up and you got negative energy on you. you man, shit just happens. You're in, you're out. You're in, you're out. It just happens. You're in you're out. I dig it. You start cleaning shit,
Starting point is 00:51:53 clean your house up a little bit. But if everything is in order for him in that regard. Yeah, he got a maid. In that regard. He probably tripped on the stairs. Oh, man. So unclear how he suffered the injury. But according to his agent Mark Bartolstein.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Something. So according to Agent Mark Bartolstein, I said we met with numerous doctors and specialists around the country in collaboration with the entire Clippers medical staff over the last few days came to the decision unanimously that the surgery will allow Brad
Starting point is 00:52:18 to have a full, incomplete recovery. Are you recovering? Yeah, man. I mean, that's, you know, that's how my into career started looking. Right, where you just get injured, train, come back, get injured, train, come back, get injured.
Starting point is 00:52:41 Now you've got a healthy seat, get traded. bones spurs got to get those out right i mean it's just and then when i thought i was ready to play again go to china pool growing come back rehab ready to go getting ready to try out you ain't never get ready to try out go to uh drew leek go to drulik torn meniscus brandon did this to you at the julia that's what torrid meniscus just had a night but i was killing that night got 28 quick like oh i'm ready we had fun and then two days later Knees swallowed up.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Done. So Bill hasn't hit the 60 game mark since the 2020-21 season, which was the last time he was an All-Star as well. I'm living four years. Yeah, I'm letting you know, getting the fans know for watching the show.
Starting point is 00:53:23 And wherever that body is, man, go ahead and just... It's some bad things. Put it in the grave and just bury the hatchet and... Damn. Some bad things. I'm just saying, like, whatever... Like, if you got any enemies out there, man,
Starting point is 00:53:35 hey, hey, I apologize to him. You've got to get you... Yeah, you got to get you... You got to get you... Clean your pipes, man, sometimes. So they get exempted, like he ain't played it. They get like some type of exemption. Yeah, we'll probably get some bread back for that.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Not even that, just being able to add a player to the roster. Yeah, like an intra-player exemption or just have a player exemption. Got to do the work outside of basketball. He's making the Kings Ransom. They've really never been. We got that bread from the buyout, but two-year-11 mil from the United. What's the most games he played? I think when he was in a wizard's jersey.
Starting point is 00:54:05 Honestly. Because he was hurt in the with the Wizards. So he had a couple of eight-what? Let me see. I think the most games probably. He played 82 games in 2017, 18, 18, 19. They played 82, 82, 82. That's what got them that paid.
Starting point is 00:54:19 82, 82, 82, then they could average. Then 57 and 20, that was the COVID year. And then played 60. With the willet? Yeah, but. 77, 82, 82. Then the COVID year, 57. So since the 21 season, it's been 40 games, 50 games, 53, 53,
Starting point is 00:54:39 and now six games this season with the, Yeah, that's just so. And the sad part is, with all of this, those bad years, average 23, 23, 18, and 17, and A, being injured. Right? When you talk about, like, this, he ain't been here, he's washed, those years is 23, 23, 18, and 17. Cleanse. Get baptized. Get into water.
Starting point is 00:55:10 You know revert to Islam. I don't know what you do to do something different No at this point just do something different I mean you're not in it though They know but if you're dating white go black if you're dating black go white you know You just got married though huh just got married just got married just got I'm just saying just do something This example just do some different He's just he's mentally not in basketball right now How much he average this year? That's about eight points per game.
Starting point is 00:55:42 He's in six game. Man. Yeah, you said, stop making it. No, ain't no excuses. So legally married 20-20 had the ceremony in 2020. No, with Gil saying some real shit, like you better do an outside work, outside of who. You got to get away, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Right now I'm just saying, listen, listen, you hurt. Before you get your surgery, or you can get it right now, wait two weeks, you, your wife, the kids, go somewhere. Get away from the game, man Write down your goals Review your life Look at the things you've accomplished in this Look at your family
Starting point is 00:56:17 Start like This is what I have Right once you start understanding what you have You know where you're going You know sometimes we're just We're just moving so much in real time That we don't really appreciate What we have
Starting point is 00:56:30 What we've done To know where we're going You got to appreciate it No seriously You got away last year The year before that you got away Just keep getting away and stay away. It didn't get away.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Right, unnecessary. But wish Bradley Bill's speedy recovery and all the best. No, really he do. But let's keep this thing moving. Today's show is sponsored by SeatGeek. We'll start in the Eastern Conference. Pissons are less than two years removed from setting the NBA single season record. with 28 straight losses, but Cade Cunningham has the Motor City moving in the right direction. Cunningham was recently named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, second time winning the award. Follow that up by joining some elite company in the Pistons' overtime win against the Wizards Monday night. Let's look at the highlights, please.
Starting point is 00:57:54 So Cunningham came through with his 12th career triple double, stuffing the stat sheet with 46 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 steals, and two blocks. But he was 14 of 45 from the field. Detroit was on the second night of a back-to-back missing three starters and a few more key rotation players in the game which explains all those extra shots he had to take putting the team on his back. 31 missed shots passes Kobe's previous modern NBA record of 30 he said in the game back in 2002.
Starting point is 00:58:23 We also got a shout-out C. Jim McCommer at 42 points in the game for the Wizards. With the win, the Pissons improved at 9 and 2 this season and are atop the Eastern Conference past November 1st for the first time since 2007. Let's look at what this man is doing out here. Changing the culture in Detroit. Shout with the J.B. Bicker staff as well. That's the team.
Starting point is 00:58:45 Made some noise last season. That's tough. We have some big things, big expectations, obviously in a weaker Eastern conference this season. But Kay Cunningham is doing his thing, man. Can you ask you a question? No. I asked the questions on this couch.
Starting point is 00:59:01 What's your question? I was wondering, why did you have to say his stat? Like, it... Because he took 45 shots, yeah. Who took some... Okay. I don't get what was the point of that. How many points it had?
Starting point is 00:59:14 Yeah, 46. Why can you just leave with that? What does the 45 shots have to do? Did he win? That was a lot of shots. You won, right? I also gave the context that they were missing a bunch of player second item back to back.
Starting point is 00:59:25 You don't need that negative. It's not a negative to me. They're on a seven-game winning street. Taking 45 shots is a beautiful thing. Sometimes, if he got to take 50 shots, to get the win he got to do it they won which means it's irrelevant on what the percentage was because they seven and no in the last seven games see you see how i made that they seven no and they last seven game i felt like i was very positive he got like six double
Starting point is 00:59:55 doubles i was very positive in community he had 46 um-huh very positive communicated You have that information? That's 40. That's right. Second night of it back to back, down three starter, down key rotational player. It's amazing to even take 45 shots though is a beautiful thing. That's not a bad thing. That's not a bad thing.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Yeah. 45 shots is not a bad thing. I mean, they struggled. I mean, look at this team. But they're like, yo, you got 45 shots. How much is it? You'd be like 46. What is everybody there?
Starting point is 01:00:23 Damn. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. It's out there just chuck it, huh? That's what I thought. Had to put the team on his team on his team. back, ladies, man.
Starting point is 01:00:32 Like, you take 45 shots? No, he, don't look like that. He took enough shots to have 120 points, man. And he don't do that, though. He don't look selfish. But I like the fact that we know that he can. Yeah, that's what I mean. Because they struggle offensively.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Yeah. What? But let's talk about the positive good. Like you mentioned, 9 and 2, first in the Eastern Conference. So after the Pistons win over the 6th or Sunday, Cunningham was asked why he never lost faith in the franchise and had this to say. More than anything, my faith in myself. my faith in myself, knowing that I was going to be successful in the NBA, knowing that I was going to do everything it took to be successful. And I got lucky and fell into a franchise in the
Starting point is 01:01:12 city that has the same mentality that, you know, I felt like it took for me to take the next step. So it's been a hell of a ride, man. It's been a lot of ups and downs. It's still early, though. So I'm not above myself because we're eight and two. I think this is something that we all won it, but we want something bigger than this. So, you know, we just want to keep our heads down and keep working. Through the Pistons' first 11 games, Cade average of 28 points, 10 assists, five rebounds, 37 minutes for game, time for the third most in the NBA. Minutes per game made his first All-Star All-NBA team last season.
Starting point is 01:01:47 Cade Cunningham solidify himself as a superstar in this league. Rising? Star. Rising? At the moment. For sure. The trajectory, the star, and now you're being negative. Making an all-in-a team last year, our first All-Star, he's trending up.
Starting point is 01:02:06 But to say superstar already is elite category in this NBA, but he's rising and he's making a name for himself to be in that category. Absolutely. Continuing his trajectory of growth within his game. Yeah, NBA is tailor-made for him, his size, his position. He's a cheek. Yeah, he is athletic. He is, he does all the things that Luca can do with athleticism.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Yeah. So he got to windmilling that thing in the game. So he's doing things at that position. And yeah, he's playing in the city that's going to ride with him, ride for him. So Detroit basketball, baby. Detroit basketball. The way he plays, if they keep tweaking the roster for his talent. That is a type of team that two years from now, they're going to be like, yo, they're kind of favorite.
Starting point is 01:03:07 They might come out of the East. Yeah. Right? Yeah. Because the defense they play. This start right here can help them. The East is down. No, but the East is down this year.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Oh, you mean get there this year? I'm saying the East is down. I ain't saying winning, but the East is down issue. Get off to a hot start, nine and two. You take this shit into December? You still single digits. Heading to the new year, hey, man, that's a scary young team because they don't know no better. And they got a coach over there that's put a battery in their back.
Starting point is 01:03:38 And he not accepted anything less than play hard, defend, and fuck your opponent. Yep. And... No, they're at. Like, that's the way they're playing. That's the way they're approaching. And between him during at the five list, they got a great chemistry and he is fucking playing great right now. And you bring
Starting point is 01:03:58 Stewart off the, I think they got a good mix, man, of Yeah, no, I like you, Troy. You know, it's so funny, we see, but we've seen it in real time. We've seen it with Monty Williams, right? They lost how many in a row? 28 straight games.
Starting point is 01:04:14 They lost 28 straight games, but how they lost. A lot of close games. You know what I mean? They lost a whole lot of close games, whistles, bad, pass it. Like, so it wasn't like they was getting blown out. It was like, damn, you're happy these is wins. Once they start getting older, we're like, they're going to win some of you.
Starting point is 01:04:31 No, no, you know the difference? The coach now, he used four-letter words. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I told you all this, sir. Darn, it. Listen, I told you to die on that ball. Like love? That could be one of them after the game.
Starting point is 01:04:44 Poop. Yeah. But he used four-letter words. Monty didn't, right? And like I said, at the time, you got a bunch of Y-Ns over there. Four letter words are some of the only thing they understand, man. Like, you've got to cuss them out. I'm not asking you, no.
Starting point is 01:05:04 Them, you got to talk crazy to it. That's the only thing going to register to them. And I'm pretty, the way he is, and they understand that, right? We can't do that shit we was doing, like, no, we lose one in the row. We lose two in a row. He's coming, and he's going to lose his shit. He's keeping it honest with us, letting us play freely, but he's holding us accountable.
Starting point is 01:05:25 And like I said, some four-letter words and within them timeouts and the messages and locker room talks, trust me. As players, were those four-letter words important for you guys to help me? Not poopie-head. I mean, there's a four-letter word. Hey, poop-y-head, you need to get on a slow and die.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Monty Williams might have said fudge. Yes. Mother fudge. Darn it. That type, no, listen, no. Darned a four-letter word? No, I'm sorry. Can you imagine your coach?
Starting point is 01:05:51 Like, get mad if you're in custody? Darn it, I don't it. The dead ass, though, right? We look at it in the NBA, right? No, most of us went to college and some of us played for guys in. But I'm pretty sure high school with Coach Hussein. Listen, the college, I tell people all the time. And the man I played for, we was everything except a nigger and a child of God, dog.
Starting point is 01:06:12 Everything in between. So he never called you either of those two. No, a child of God or a nigger. So everything in between was fair game with this man. So then you get to the league and I wish I like No You can't We lose and we down possessions ain't going our way
Starting point is 01:06:31 Our coach looking at us the way our body language is We're not playing hard we're not doing it We're not rebounding the ball right there You didn't box out Man was open you shot the bit like oh like No address it but you can't go in there Please y'all pass please let's no let's Please don't work in NBA
Starting point is 01:06:48 Please don't work in professional sport If you want to be successful, please don't work. Thank you, yeah. Please don't work. About time. Those, like, sarcasm, asshole, four letter words, working, winning and being competitive in sports. Certain guys don't make it in that position, man.
Starting point is 01:07:13 Like, going on, you let one slip and you're in the back praying, like, no, listen, get do it out of here. Get do it out of here. Like, you didn't say it, damn. Now you think that you got to go pray. Like, no, this is not going to do. Listen, no. But I used to, look, I have nothing against religion, nothing against them.
Starting point is 01:07:29 I used to wonder how dudes used to go to chapel before the game. I've always wondered that, man. You know, isn't that? Do you think I went to chapel before the game, Nick? Man, I wonder. Exactly. I'm thinking about the chapel. I'm thinking about something totally different, man.
Starting point is 01:07:48 I'm saying some dudes did. I just, I said I didn't understand how I could be in. that mind state and then flip it to go out because you know the way I played Ohio I am and I black out when I'm on the floor so it's it's good for some dudes I'm not
Starting point is 01:08:04 saying yeah but for me I'm just we're in the weight room lifting and y'all over the John 316 I'm like wait in the way room? I'm saying some dudes play some dudes had chapel in the wait room oh shit they didn't have a separate thing
Starting point is 01:08:22 right, locker room having chapel, and you over there trying to be in the wait room having chapel, and you over there trying to, I'm listening to in my headphones while they got chapel going on. It's like, it's like, it feels like it's right? Yeah, that's not. No, that's what you're saying. That's when y'all came in the NBA. They had a different room.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Yeah, no. They had a different room. Before it was like they tried like a weight room or something like that. Everybody wasn't lifting. Certain dudes lived, everybody did. But is you going there? So then, you know, like weight rooms that's open before the game
Starting point is 01:08:55 and then now you got somebody in there and listen to this shit, now he's mad. Or they come in there and be like, hey, we got chapel in. And so I'm like, nah, I just, like, I get it. But, but, like, we have Bible study after every episode of Gil's reading
Starting point is 01:09:08 at $700. Like, let's do that before. Like, never see any of y'all there. Never see any of you at our Bible study. I came on a veteran team, so obviously they used to do that. And then my second year when I was playing that you coming to chapel,
Starting point is 01:09:20 I'm listening to Tupacel. You know what I mean? Ambitions of a ride. That's why I have to go to chapter. Ambitions of a ride. That's why I have to go to the chest because of you. I'm like, Dean Mason, I'm skipping over the prayer thing. That's never past me to both.
Starting point is 01:09:34 I know how you play. I'm trying to get ready. I'm not. You know, you're sitting there all eyes on me. Like, yeah. Because I didn't turn. Once I turned my back in my, look, because I just saw once this game, like once we're getting close, I would turn my chair around and I'm facing the locker, right?
Starting point is 01:09:49 I'm not, I'm facing the locker. I don't What else is going on didn't matter at that point, right? I'm so I didn't psyched myself up so much You know, there's no time to pray It does not But you gotta be ready for the rap for him
Starting point is 01:10:07 Yeah, but back to Kate Make sure you're gonna say Oh my bad No, no, this is why we love this show Because we can go on tanges And come right back to where they start I just think the way he's been playing I think he is the future point guard
Starting point is 01:10:19 for the USA team in 2020 I think the pace he keeps going, just his style of play. I mean, he's averaging, what you say, like 27. 28, yep. Right now. And he has to take a lot of load on the team because offensively they struggle a little bit. Defensively, I mean, they remind me of Houston Rockets last year, but just with the number one option this year to me defensively and everything.
Starting point is 01:10:40 So I'm excited for Detroit. I was a little worried in the beginning. They started off a little sluggish, but they was able to turn the table. And I don't mind the 46 shots for my case. Not at all. I just had to point out. I read stats. I mentioned important pertinent numbers
Starting point is 01:10:53 that are topical timely. He don't do this all the time. You know, this is... He had to put the team on his back. Second night to back to back. No, the thing, like, he had 11 assists in this effort as well. Guys that shoot that much
Starting point is 01:11:06 and have that many points, they don't have that, them kind of assist number. So they're going to be... He's going to average 10, 11 assists with his 27, and he's going second team all-N-B-A. So you also mentioned Jayland, So we got to give some love to the fourth-year big man.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Shea and Luca got. Who? Jalen Duren? Oh, he's making it. Yeah, he's nice. In the midst of a career year, Duren putting up a career high, 19 points, 12 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. Cunningham and Duren each have seven double doubles this season, which is the most by any duel on the league right now, both tied for third most in the league. Pistons have the fourth best defense in the league, six best net rating so far this season.
Starting point is 01:11:45 So just, y'all have faith in this Pist's squad. I mean, we talked about the Bulls recently. suffered some losses, but this is now first. They built different. They don't know no other. They've been losing. We saw it last year. They fell off. Listen, they lost 28 games. A lot of them dudes. Yeah, they lost 28 games. A lot of them dudes is there for that. All of them.
Starting point is 01:12:02 Damn, all of them do's is there for that. The only one Tammy gone. But, but for the most part, a lot of them a lot of them dudes was they suffered those losses. So they've been through the fire already, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:20 Hey, they're going to be, they're going to, no, they're going. No, they go. Everything come back to the cash. When is Tobias up, because that's a lot of money that's coming off that cap, that they can go get. They add someone. Yeah. That position. At that position.
Starting point is 01:12:36 At that position. Three. Yeah, three. Yeah. The final year of his deal, making $26 million this year. This year? Yep. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Final year of his deal. Get somebody this summer. Oh, my God. This is only have, I think, what, $105 million committed? Yeah. Next year and salary. They can go get some back. The business is a good thing.
Starting point is 01:12:52 So with them, it's basically no impulsive decisions. No, wait. Look at what you have. Look at what is necessary for your team's success, right? Don't do the James Hardin and you get a Baca and then you realize, oh, shit, we don't, don't do that. You see what the core is first. Then you put pieces around them. So Jamie Duren, I think Ivy are eligible for extensions.
Starting point is 01:13:17 I believe this office. They are. They are. Chingin. They played Detroit. They did. They do. It's rugged.
Starting point is 01:13:25 It's rugged, yeah. It's really rugged and tough. It's like, it's no more going into Detroit. They came in there. Last year with the playoffs against New York, you see how hard they play. Yeah, they gave Detroit to wrong. They gave Nick to run for their goddamn money. Just a piece of two away, bro.
Starting point is 01:13:39 That confidence coming into this season, man. Shout out to one of our favorite cities, Detroit. Nothing but love for the city of Detroit. You don't start it again, all right. No, you said favorite. Like, you know. We have a list. They would be in there somewhere.
Starting point is 01:13:53 I mean, they'll be in the list of cities. Right, I mean, somewhere in there. Top 28 NBA City. Uh-huh. Very respectful. Sounds better, but. Maybe not the worst. I'm not trying, look.
Starting point is 01:14:06 Sometimes I'm not going to. Like, I've never went out. I don't, I've never went out there. You don't want to go out there. What, Detroit? Yeah. Troy cracking. Beautiful.
Starting point is 01:14:15 I'm guessing. When we got there in town, I've never went out there. Recreculate. I don't know. There in Memphis, Minnesota, Milwaukee. I went in some place when I were playing. I had no business being in Detroit. Because we stayed in Arby Hills, right?
Starting point is 01:14:25 You guys stayed in back then, right? Yeah, so it was. Brampton, yeah, I mean, Birmingham. Yeah, Birmingham, yeah. Birmingham is nice. In Detroit. You went out? Yes, in Birmingham, yes.
Starting point is 01:14:37 There's a lot of bars and shit around. Yeah, Church Hills. They got a, they got a cigar lounge. They got a, Jay Alexander's restaurant. They got a lot of, yeah. The Ball, Somerset Mall is over there. Yeah, everything. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:14:46 I got out of adventure. I'm sorry. You was in New Jersey. Anything outside of Georgia looked great. No, no, there's in New York. You were in New York. You were in Milwaukee. Anything outside of Milwaukee was goddamn luxury.
Starting point is 01:14:58 No, what's the name was nice, though? What? Where are we talking about? Right around. Birmingham is a very expensive area. But we was going, I was going to Detroit. I was going to. I didn't come down there.
Starting point is 01:15:09 No, but where you guys stayed, your NBA team, you guys stayed at the nice area. I didn't come downstairs. I know that. Yeah, I know. But I'm just saying where you were at. I didn't even know Toronto was popping. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:15:20 I was in, we was one way in and one way out of Detroit. Yeah, Detroit. I didn't want to, I feel in them spots. Yeah. Yeah, so you didn't. Means and cornbread up in Detroit? No, what's the name was nice though? Like the mall was cool, nice restaurants over there.
Starting point is 01:15:33 There had an ocean prime over there, a jail, exam, or that? I'm in the street. That's what I was. I told you to come to KOD. It was this time here, we get dark early. Me and she did him up, you get there. You get there, as soon as you get in the room it's dark. You're like, the fuck, it's late a shit all.
Starting point is 01:15:48 You look up, this 630. A strip club, bro, in Detroit. Oh, did, I did. They tried to invite me to the strip club. I did. Me and she even here, you're good. Support the logo community. Like them?
Starting point is 01:15:57 Hell yeah. Hell yeah, KOD. That's the one of them, one of them strip clubs out there? You thought I left my hotel? She'd had that big ass LaVore three. Man, that's three. I never left that a hotel. I was in some undesirable places there, too.
Starting point is 01:16:12 Memphis, New Orleans, Detroit. Yeah, I found all the holes in the wall. Just don't wear Carter Airframes in Detroit. Yeah. They're going to take it. They don't know. They'll take them. Give me all them.
Starting point is 01:16:22 They were permanently borrowed them, but let's shift this thing over to the Western Conference. Yeah, you were a plane shit. You don't run nothing out when you go to them places. They want to fly. You got all the jury in the world in. Let me leave that shit at the room. You can go to them places. Team logo.
Starting point is 01:16:35 No, nowhere. I said it earlier, right? You wouldn't allow to go nowhere with me, man. If you wore team gear outside of Gene Function? If you stopped me in the truth, say, man, you can't kind of me with that. If it's not a team function, yes. I can't come.
Starting point is 01:16:52 All right, man. If it's not a sanctioned team function, all right, listen, sanction team functions, team get all day. We get to the city and we come down and you ain't got no coat and you come down and your team. No, you can't go with me, dog. We're already walking in. We're bigger than everybody in the place as he is. Hey, man, they need to walk in six.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Everybody walking in six, five, six, six, seven, seven, two. He might ain't got no clothes. He got to stay that fit for tomorrow. Right? Room service. Yeah. You won't go with me. You can be in the same restaurant, but you ain't sending my table with Team Gear on.
Starting point is 01:17:26 Detroit, I'd be happy now, man. He didn't say I couldn't come, y'all. Yeah. You got on Team Gear? Go back to my room. And back then you had to catch a cab, man. You got to catch a cab, man. Oh, yeah, what a cab.
Starting point is 01:17:40 So when you come downstairs, if you were, so, the thing is, he would never made it because he always late. You know, I wouldn't wait on, you see, the thing, it ain't just started. I ain't waiting on my phone. We say we're leaving the hotel list. What time dinner? We say 6.30. We're leaving that 6? I'm fucking leaving that 6.
Starting point is 01:17:57 Come down that motherfucking 6.05. Like, yeah, you what? Kay, with you? In the restaurant already, dog. I can attest to that. Can you will dip on you? I will leave you. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:18:10 Yes, with me. Well, let's shift over to the Western Conference. But after becoming the first senator to average a triple-double and finishing second MVP voting, Nicole Yolkich, picking up right where he left off this season Joker's mess around and dropped a triple double in six of the Nuggets first nine games this season
Starting point is 01:18:27 yes, yes, yes, he has. He didn't have a triple double and the Nuggets win against the Kings Tuesday night but did have 35 points, 15 boards, and seven dimes while shooting an impressive 16 for 19 from the field. Yeah, he's out here doing his thing. Oh, Lord. Easy killer.
Starting point is 01:18:53 This is a good game. Shout out to NBC, coast to coast. Fowl and one. Game started at 8 p.m. Pacific time, 11 p.m. Eastern. Bad defense. That's great. What was worth it? Kings.
Starting point is 01:19:05 Kings suck. But they were competitive for most of the game. I picked them sorry, some bitch to make the playoffs and all that this shit. They're so disappointed, man. They are disappointed. Let's talk about Nicole. What time was they had? 8 p.m. Pacific.
Starting point is 01:19:18 8 p.m. APM Pacific, our time. They could have put that bitch on that 10. Nobody was watching them two teams. I've watched the entire game. It was an exciting game. Nobody watched it. You sound like the last game on Christmas.
Starting point is 01:19:30 That last game on Christmas. That's the last game on Christmas. Why would they put that game? It's always the sons and like the decades or like the Clippers. The people are drunk. Kings are competitive for most of the games. Four and third kids been on that. Shout out Russell Westbrook, Nick Clifford out here doing this thing.
Starting point is 01:19:45 He is a run your rookie. Nick Clifford, a fan of Gilgrey. Present him under a woo-woo. Russell Westbrook playing against his old team, man. That was the selling point. The team that told him to not take his player option. That's wild, too. He obliged.
Starting point is 01:19:59 That's the center point. But back to Joker, after Denver's win over the Pacers Saturday in which Yokes dropped 32, 14, and 14 while shooting 71% from the field, Nuggets head coach David Ottoman had high praise for the three-time MVP. He's the most efficient basketball player I've ever seen. And I know there's guys way back in the past. I didn't get to see play. But for me, in this modern generation of basketball, please show me who else is out there that it plays like this at this efficient level offensively.
Starting point is 01:20:28 It's a joy to watch. And by the way, I did all that in 31 minutes. So if the guy is, I'll keep saying, I just enjoy this, you know, while you get to have it. Some coaches that you have that damn guy. That's fair. He doesn't like to open his money. He's been around the game for a while. He has been around the game for a while.
Starting point is 01:20:47 Long time. So far this season, Joker averaged a 26.13 rebounds, league high 11.4 assists on 67-3685 shooting splits. He has a true shooting percentage of 74.8, and his combined points and points from assist is 54 per game, which is nearly half of the Nuggets, hundred and twenty-four points per game this season. So is Adam a tripping or spitting, saying Yolk it's the most efficient basketball player he's ever seen?
Starting point is 01:21:13 Because you trip, I'm spitting. Not tripping at all. No trip. No trip. Walking straight. So his dad coached Sacramento, if I'm not mistaken. And the Blazers back in the day. And the Blazers, right?
Starting point is 01:21:27 So he's seen a lot of basketball. Been around the game for a long time. Dad coach Chris Weber. Oh, that's that in there? Yeah. Oh. So, Chris Webber is the modern-day Nicola Yochich. And he had Vladi Divak on their team as well.
Starting point is 01:21:46 Evac on their team as well, who was a hell of a passer. So for him to have that kind of praise for Nicola when he's seen those two guys up close at their, Chris Webb was at his peak. Speaks volumes, man. We all think, well, I thought Nicola should have won MVP last year as well. Year before, I think this one they messed it up,
Starting point is 01:22:10 but I thought he should have been MVP last year. And for him to piggyback on that triple double, and having a better season this year so far. Lying up for another MVP season. Scoring down, but the assists are up. The efficiency is at record levels based on volume. And it's contagious, man. They averaging 30 and a half sits as a team.
Starting point is 01:22:35 It's contagious. So to have your best player a willing passer, man. And I love watching them play. Yeah, to me, I mean, he's just incredible. Every year, like Kenyon said, he just keeps getting better and better. I mean, to me, you know, long as he's out there, you know, they was able to add some more big bodies to coming off the bench this year. Last year, they took OKC to seven.
Starting point is 01:22:59 So, you know, if Yokish keeps playing like this, I mean, anybody in the West, I mean, you know, is a big threat. It would be Denver to me. Because, I mean, just, it's just incredible, man. And just the fact that he can, the things that he can do on the court, pass the ball, dribble, make defensive. I mean, I've never seen a big like this ever. So to me, he's the greatest big ever in this generation. And you speak of big lineups, right?
Starting point is 01:23:23 I just thought about it when you were talking about the end in depth and size, right? Yeah. You can play Nicola at the four and put Valentrudez at the five, play Aaron Gordon at the three and Perry Washington at the two and put Jamal Murray at the point and good luck. But, yeah, you can play them and valetunas together, which is crazy. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And they're under the radar, too. That's the thing about Denver.
Starting point is 01:23:48 Like, they're going to stay right there in that three, like three, two, like whatever. I'll see. But I mean, to- Good luck playing them in the playoffs. Yeah, to me, I mean, to me, the biggest threat is Denver and Lakers right now. It's going to be the same. They do the same thing every year. Oh, K-C.
Starting point is 01:24:03 Who? Denver. Denver. Oh, it'll be the same thing over and over. Do the same thing? That's the same thing. Joker's going to like Joker all year. They're going to stay from three, two, to four, from the same results.
Starting point is 01:24:19 Was it going to be the same result? Took the Thunder to seven games? Well, they got a championship. They're tough to play. They act like they get to the first round to lose every year like Minnesota used to. No. No, they got a championship. They do have a championship.
Starting point is 01:24:33 You know that, right? They do. Okay, I just like, no, it ain't no get to the, do the same thing. over and over, they have success. Like, people thought Oklahoma City was head and shoulders better than last year. They took them boys to seven. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:24:47 That they did. That was lost. And that was a hell of a serious, too. People thought Oklahoma City was gonna walk through them. Nah, everybody. The masses thought, against Joker is always about. The masses thought Oklahoma City was way better.
Starting point is 01:24:59 I thought OKC was too young last year. Yeah, everybody, everybody, yeah. So I thought, I thought, I would definitely be going to get them. Yeah, most, y'all get you. Masses, but they held. Oh, yeah, no, the massive. 22.
Starting point is 01:25:12 23. Yeah, they just, yeah, you got like they. 20, 23. Two years ago, Nick, like this. And it was three last year, three the year before that, one to three. Yeah, they, yeah, they, they consistent. No, no, there was three last year, champions year. Yeah, consistent.
Starting point is 01:25:29 I think they finished tie for third. They were the tiebreaker. They had a tiebreaker. And, but they're tough out. I remember that one. Good luck playing them in the playoffs, because the game is a half-court game, and they have top three half-court basketball players we've seen. They've got three guys averaging 22 right now. Like I said, Nuggets currently 8 and 2, tied with the Spurs for the second best record in the West.
Starting point is 01:25:54 What's the next topic? What's the next topic? What's the next to? Aaron Gordon, I got his bounce back. You don't like your old time? He called the moment with 360 live. Then picking up what you say, Cam Johnson and them off the back. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:06 Tim Hartley. You're not a fan of the Denver Nugget. Three spread at the floor. A fine basketball team in Adam Silver's Western Conference. Okay. All right. Are you going to be honest? Are y'all going to keep spearing this bullshit?
Starting point is 01:26:20 All right. What are you doing? Please. He's averaging what? 26. Uh-huh. 13 and 11. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:26:28 67, 36, 85 shooting. And what's their record? Eight and two. They lost two games. All right. Who's in front of them? OKC. Okay, so what's their record?
Starting point is 01:26:37 10 and one. 10 to 1. Right behind them. Soon to be 11 and 2. And they have not been in no motherfucking bodies top anything of topics. Man. Okay. No one cares.
Starting point is 01:26:48 Like, I'm just going to be honest. Are we going to just stop? They're flying on the radar. They're not flying on the radar. They are on the radar. No one cares. Cool. No one cares what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:26:58 Cool. Has it not shown that you got two MVP's candidates doing what they do every year. No one cares. All right. Austin Reeves scores 25. That's better than Yokic's triple double. Yeah, don't go. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:14 Who gets the headlines then? Yes. Whose handlines is? Yes. If Austin Reeves. Austin Reeves has been in the news more than both of them combined. Yeah, me, please. Because of the market.
Starting point is 01:27:27 Yeah, yeah, yeah, no one, like we all talk about when it's amazing. We want to talk about it, but it's never news because the market is so small that we don't watch. You said a whole bunch of players, I didn't even know. I was like, man, he must watch. I was like, he must watch the goddamn Wolvertonas. I heard, I heard Valenus, Cam Jones, Kim Hardway, Jr. I know, I know they got a whole bunch of people. Who was that the two?
Starting point is 01:27:53 He said somebody at the two. I was like, oh. That's who that was started. They're going to put Peyton Watson. Yeah, yeah. And I'm just sitting here like, damn, they got a nice-ass team and nobody. We care here at Gilz Arena. Went motherfucking, 65 games and.
Starting point is 01:28:06 That's right. He's going to knock up MVP. But line, running the radar, MVP, win 60-65 games. That's what I'm saying. Lying under the radar, cool. Think about Cade, right?
Starting point is 01:28:16 Think about the honest, right? It's the winners and the people that are doing the damage are in small cities, which makes it look like nobody watches the NBA because nobody's watching those teams. Yeah, a lot of people watching the NBA. Viewship is up, sir. Yeah, because, you know, because Austin Reed's doing well.
Starting point is 01:28:41 He is. Jack LaRaveno. The American wife. The American whites are excited like, though, they are 11, the two MVP's and what they are doing the same thing they did last year, even better. And their team is doing better. And no one is, is nothing. But perhaps they need a Lemon Daddy billboard throughout Los Angeles. No, no.
Starting point is 01:29:09 You're flying on the radar, kicking ass, and take your name. I can just imagine if they were in just a big city, dog. Like, we said that with Russ. If Russ was in L.A. when he was averaging him triple doubles, God damn. You know what I mean? Like, if Yokic was in L.A. for either team, and he was averaging a triple double? Mm-hmm. But, man, we'll be.
Starting point is 01:29:34 Sometimes you know it's good to be under the radar. As the chat has pointed out, NBA viewership went up as soon as Gil's Arena came back. Draw the correlation, if you will, just pointing it out. These numbers skyrocketed once we came back on the airway. We have trouble double, nobody's here. We care. That's why we're talking about it here.
Starting point is 01:29:53 We're trying to give some... Because I'm only going to watch you when they play the Lakers. I'm going to just be real. And OKC versus the Lakers tonight? Yeah. That's the first time I'm going to watch. No, no. Okay, T, first game.
Starting point is 01:30:06 They played the best game for this year. They played Houston first game. They weren't the best games of this game. Oh, yeah, yeah, I did, I did. Because of KD. Yeah. Tonight's going to be open, though. It wasn't, had nothing to do with the main.
Starting point is 01:30:17 It was a rocket. This way, it kept it to right. All right, well. They were going to stay like two times already, right? Oh, Denver. Yeah. I didn't even know. That sucks, though.
Starting point is 01:30:34 Right now, when you sit there and think about it, you'd be like, damn. Oh, so I'll pay them in them right now. You know, y'all used to have better viewership back in Denver. Back in Denver, they had way more better viewership. Oh, yeah, they were on this whole time. They're on the SBA in this shit, too. They're on the SBA. They'll be on there.
Starting point is 01:30:55 Just 8, 45, 8, 50. All right, well, 12 o'clock Eastern. They just think teams is damn. Let's talk about the things that you guys might actually want to talk about. Starting point is 01:32:57 no I'm just in there that audio anywho the NBA The NBA released their plan for the 2026 All-Star game, which will feature a USA versus the world format. Here are the specifics for the game. Mr. B, I hear you clapping in approval. There will be a three-team round-robin format with four 12-minute games. Their three teams will play each other once in the round-robin mini-tournament with the top two teams advancing to the championship game.
Starting point is 01:33:22 There will be two USA teams and one world team with at least eight players per team with 12 players from each conference selected without regard to position. If NBA All-Star voting doesn't result in the selection of 16 U.S. players and eight international players, which can include American players with ties to other countries, if necessary, then Adam Silver will pick additional All-Stars to join either group to reach that minimum. In that case, at least one team would have more than eight players. In the Round Robin tournament, Team A will play Team B in Game 1. The winning team from Game 1 will take on Team C in Game 2,
Starting point is 01:33:57 followed by the losing team of Game 1, meeting Team C in Game 3. was a lot to digest. Yeah. I mean, they just throw on the East versus West Jersey. So basically, I was forward, so I heard all that. So they're going to have a, first they're going to have a regular vote. Regular vote. Hopefully we get 12 from each conference, regardless of the position.
Starting point is 01:34:15 So let's say they only get six technically international players. They'll add two more cap, for example. You can throw the Dominican Republic. So would they take... Austin Reeves, the island of Caucasia. What I'm saying, would they take players from, like, somebody like Embed or somebody like that that has. You Cameroonian for this particular event.
Starting point is 01:34:37 So if Kat makes it, but they don't have enough over there, they're going to move them over here. They can move over to that side. That's not international. Okay. Now I'm getting it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:49 Why is that not international? I'm more of a visual. Because the first five players for the international is listening. Austin Reeves plays for Germany. He could play for Germany. He could play for Germany. He is from the fatherland. For real.
Starting point is 01:35:01 So when he makes it, they may just shift him over to the international team. Oh, man. Okay, what is the purpose of this? Because what I mean is, if you have to then take Americans and then use where their parents is from to add it to the Euro side, this is not Euro versus, that's not what this is, right? Anyway, if the Euro team don't make it to the finals, you look stupid. Right? So now, because what ends up happening, if the Euro team don't make it, then you have the same old American versus American anyway.
Starting point is 01:35:44 So now you literally have to rig it. The only way you can do that is warm-ups. You let the, what, the Euro play the weakest group to see if they can win. So you basically have the Euro play back-to-back. Because you don't want them to sit for, you don't want. want you don't want them to sit now they're coming out cold because most of them are slow so you want them you want them to play and play so you're going to have most likely them playing back to back versus starting than sitting or wait or sitting so it's one of those things or if you're
Starting point is 01:36:18 smart you could have them wait the first game then play back to back hopefully that team have them group c and go game two and they're group c and a and b have them play against whoever looks tired first. Man, they should just have two teams, man. All this three teams, like, but they won't be team two. The best 12 U.S., the best. I know, but I'm just saying, like, at this,
Starting point is 01:36:43 I mean, it's no reason to have two different USA teams. Like, just, you know, the best players, just the best players that y'all can find for the U.S. Pick 12. Y'all argued me this down. I said you're looking at five. Everyone's looking at only five. Okay.
Starting point is 01:36:57 And three of them are bigs. After that, Biggs, right? So they already have to change the format for them to be on the team and say positionless. So now you're going to have three centers because usually an All-Star game only has two. So then you're literally trying to figure out these pieces. And then there's guys on the team that don't even start in the NBA, that they will get pulled into the All-Star game. And if you're a real All-Star, you're sitting there like, come on, man, this is a bull.
Starting point is 01:37:29 You're trying to figure out how to make it work, and most likely they're not going to put bogged on and bogged on them in a game. They're just going to put Carl Anthony. If you're an All-Star, we're going to move you to the side. Who else? I mean, well, the first five of the P ladder, though, and it had five international players on it. So you got those first five right there. Five international. Just on the top five.
Starting point is 01:37:53 How many bigs? So you had Luca SGA, Janus, Yonis, Yolkich. Uh-huh. You're the fifth one. Yeah, so three big and then you're going to. Right? It's a bonus, right? It's a bonus. Yes, right? It's all big because we went through this a long time.
Starting point is 01:38:06 So now trying to find 12. You're trying to find seven more. It's rough. So you can do, you can do it that way. So they're trying to move it to eight. So then they got to pull three. Right? So you have five.
Starting point is 01:38:19 My bad. Wimby. So you got S. Yonis, Yokic, Wimby, Luca. You got Alperin Shangoon is playing very well. Another five. Rudy Gobert. Another five.
Starting point is 01:38:28 Marking. Huh? Another five. Nick Blander. I mean, you look at that your team is tall, so now you just say, okay, this is moving to eight and then they're just going to try to... Austin Reeves, Germanic. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:38:41 Now you're pulling people that's not... I can't just have a regular Austin. Or just cancel. It's another gimmick, man. Look at this. I'm tired of this shit. Look at easy. Look at it.
Starting point is 01:38:51 Man. I'll just cancel it. Just do a horse game, a scale challenge, and I don't know. I said this. If you want people to care. Yeah. If you want people to care, take it away from them. But the problem is, the stars don't care about the game.
Starting point is 01:39:08 They just want the selection. They just, I just want, I just want this thing. I'm an all-star. Yeah, yeah. Don't get a fuck about the game. I don't care about, you know, I don't care about the game. So it's, you know, you're fighting up uphill battle, but. Yeah, because it's mid-season, right?
Starting point is 01:39:24 I want me to cut you off. It's mid-season. And, you know, it's mid-season. And, you know. Who cares halfway through the season, right? It's what you've done halfway through the season, and it's always the same guys sprinkled in and added two, three, four new all-stars. Some guys get hurt, some guys don't qualify, some, so it's, yeah, it's, for what, like, it's
Starting point is 01:39:53 pointless to do this shit, man, like it's... Do you think the NBA Cup is pointless too there? Yeah. So let's do it at the end, like, just like the Pro Bowl, right? If you made the Pro Bowl selection, it's at the end of the season, they got a fucking All-Star game then. I'm just laughing if they did that halfway through the NFL. Right, just imagine you got a Pro Bowl game fucking halfway through the season.
Starting point is 01:40:16 Like, motherfuckers be like, huh? I'm not trying to plan that shit to get hurt. Yeah, my quarterback out there just got hit. Nah. Like, just imagine, right? No. Had this shit at the end of the season, man. Like, certain guys, so the way they do it, the guys that's in the playoffs, making the deep
Starting point is 01:40:31 to run the playoffs, you pick a replacement. Have an all-star game at the end of the season. Do it that way. Guys will be more reluctant to play in it. The season's over. You put it in the spectre. How did the shit during the NBA finals? It's a bigger stage.
Starting point is 01:40:44 You bring everybody together. But don't have any shit in mid-season, man, it's pointless at this point, man. Right, because it's. But doesn't that create another problem? Why is it pointless now? And it wasn't pointless like back then, though. Because TV. We didn't have screaming services.
Starting point is 01:40:59 So, TV, you didn't see certain. So, like, let's say, guys, the world didn't get to see certain matchups. Right? So, like, back in the 80s, right? Okay. If you're Chicago, like, this is your first time getting to see Michael Jordan, now the world gets to see who you are. So you're going out there playing hard against MJ.
Starting point is 01:41:20 Now, MJ said, oh, this is what you're doing? I bet. So that was it Now everybody gets to be on TV And once everybody gets seen We all got TV games We all on the platform We're all getting popping
Starting point is 01:41:32 Yeah I remember those all-star games The jerseys used to be lit Used to win the bird I mean I've been in the locker room We all start off the same way Right You're going there
Starting point is 01:41:41 All right we're gonna Everybody playing hard Everybody playing? All right bet Let's go All right bet let's go All right we're going to win this this year One person It takes one person
Starting point is 01:41:51 To chuck a shot not get back on defense, do something dumb, and then everybody like, oh, I'm good. I'm good. And then that's what the first one that shoots, the first one that shoots one of those half-court threes, all that playing hard is out the window. Right?
Starting point is 01:42:07 No, different than the park, right? Somebody called a bad foul, right? Oh, this is what we're doing here? All right, this is the game is junked up. So. To me, it used to feel like a cool pickup game. Like after Drew Lee. That's the way it used to be in guys.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Guys took the series in the fourth quarter. Like, the game. Guys came out, the understanding was we're going to come out here, have fun the first three quarters, put on the show for the fans, try to win it in the fourth. That's the way it used to be. I don't know what it went away from that at some point. I don't know what year it was, but I went away from that. And like Gil's point, right, guys want the selection.
Starting point is 01:42:50 Guys could care less about the game itself. So therefore, if you got 15 all-NBA spots, right, some of those guys will be playing deep in the playoffs, not all of them. Had this shit the first round, a second, whatever it is, wherever you know, I think half the first round with guys are just done getting done playing. You wait too much. Because you can't wait to the finals. It's too old guys. So the first round of the playoffs, this is the all-star shit. You make it a whole thing.
Starting point is 01:43:22 That would be dope, though, still. Something of that nature, but... Now, but the problem... It'll be hard. Something of that nature. I don't know what it is, but... It's all... It's all the same thing, right?
Starting point is 01:43:34 Mm-hmm. If you're talking about, all right, let's look at the teams. You got Denver, right? You got so you got Yolkid, you got Shay. You probably have Jalen Williams, right? You have Luca, let's say, LeBron, then you have Katie. If they're at the top teams, and you're talking about first round, they're not playing.
Starting point is 01:43:51 Yeah, that's what you're playing. Now you got a whole bunch of, like, fillers? Do they get the All-Star Nodge, too, or do they just fill-ins? Whoever, so, the way the NFL is, whoever's, like, in the second spot, if he's healthy. Just say, like, if, say, when Tom Brady was making, you knew more than light he was going to be in a Super Bowl. Whoever, he made, he's the first team, all pro. He gets a stamp. He gets a stamp.
Starting point is 01:44:17 But whoever the second guy is, gets, he still, then you might. If there's three quarterbacks, you take Tom off, then whoever didn't make it, he becomes the second. Peyton Manning moved first, and then whoever was at third. In theory, those two Super Bowl teams would have the most special pro bowlers, but there's still enough quality pound around the league. But obviously that didn't work because now they took away they shit because people didn't want to get hurt. Because dudes didn't want to get hurt. Now they made it in the flag football. They made it in some different shit.
Starting point is 01:44:46 No, they did because guys would want to get hurt. For sure. They're getting crap. So guys got that motherfucker. They made it in two. a show for the fans, right? To your point, make it into a show for the fans, have some competition things, have some guys,
Starting point is 01:45:00 hos of that. Speaking of that, we had hordes, whores, trick shots, all that kind of, make it into because people will, then, how's that? Yeah, it's that thing, man. We had Tracy McGrady on this couch a couple months ago, and he basically alluded to the fact that he had a conversation with NBC, and they talked about potentially bringing a one-on-one
Starting point is 01:45:18 game to All-Star Saturday night. Do it at the end of the season. One-on-one tournament. Do it at the end of the season. I think All-Star, like you said, should just be skill stuff. Yeah. Like fun stuff. Because it's supposed to be fan interaction, right?
Starting point is 01:45:31 And you are losing the fans because of this game. Yeah. You need to do a better job of surrounding things around the skill set of guys and fun activities, performances, like those things. Have a bunch of the young guys come in and motherfucking dog pony show shit, right? That's what you do the young guys, right? Appearances and all that. When guys young, you go, hey, hey, that fella, you want the $2,500, go do this appearance for me.
Starting point is 01:45:59 For sure. Hey, young fella, you want to, young fella, they're eager to do that, because they've been in the league a while. You give the guys, they're not, they're stamped, you're all-star, cool. But people come to see NBA players. You walk around the convention center where they have the NBA jam sessions, all that. I was just going to say anything. Them fans are there just to see players, no matter who the fuck the player is, they happy to see NBA. They're happy to stop guys, take pictures, they're happy to, those type events.
Starting point is 01:46:25 You do that shit, you bring the fans back involved. Bring the All-Stars there, let them sign autographs, let them take, it's the interaction that the fans on. They don't give a fuck about the game. Yeah, just do a basketball world. I think this is all really been an illusion of players playing hard. I don't think it's really been a real thing because it's always been, we're going to have fun in the first three and if the game is close we're going to play hard right and
Starting point is 01:46:57 I'm looking at a game that had because I wanted to see like if there was a time where there was just these blowouts and or these big these big blowouts where they were scoring too much and it looked bad and then I have there's a game right here that has Michael Jordan oh well Isaiah Thomas Charles Barkley Scotty Pippen Patrick Ewing, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumas, those are defensive juggernauts. They lost by 40 at the All-Star game. Right, so I'm sitting here that 153 to 114. So I'm sitting here, so it's like, I think we just have this weird idea because now our league from reporting is more of a negative thing than back then.
Starting point is 01:47:47 Right? It's more of a negative feel where we're pointing out everything that's negative instead of just pushing, you know, the greatness of the game. So it looks like that era played balls to the walls when the most blowouts happened in the 80s and the 90s. Because negative sales, right? And there's so many platforms now. There's so many people have an opinion now where then you knew where to go get the NBA content from. And to your point, there wasn't bashing going on. You had to be doing something terribly wrong for it to be negative publicity for your team or your organization and player.
Starting point is 01:48:30 Yeah, it's just, yeah, people, that's, it's low-hanging fruit at this point to point out negative, negative things with teams and people. Because it's clickbait. Right? For people to go, oh, shit. He said this about the Lakers, let me go. You said this about the All-Star. game. He's pointed out they now, they, this, they scored this many points in the first half.
Starting point is 01:48:52 It ain't been this many points scored in the first half, an all-star game since. Yeah. Now somebody else's going to do a research. Oh, they didn't have no assist in this quarter, and then it's like, everything is a domino effect on low-hanging fruit at this point for the negative shit to be clickbaited and everybody is, that's what people want to, unfortunately. Is Adam Silver making a worse bike, eating into it, keep doing this, yeah, absolutely. It keeps people talking back.
Starting point is 01:49:17 Because the noise is so loud. Yeah. Because the noise is so loud. Right. He tried that shit last year what people automatically said. Oh, that's a fail. So now people wait on an All-Star game this year. That's a fail.
Starting point is 01:49:29 Right. So just go back to the East West format, man. Let it be the best 16, whatever, 24 guys, man. Some guys are going to get hurt. Some guys are going to get replacement all-stars. East versus West. Go back to wearing your motherfucking home uniform, a role uniform, wherever the game is.
Starting point is 01:49:46 If it's the West coach, it's here this year, the West teams are home and let them wear their fucking home uniforms and this go back. I can keep that cheap shit. I want the All-Star jersey to say All-Star jersey. But it's still going to say that one. Yeah, no, no.
Starting point is 01:50:03 You put my team logo in the back. I don't want my team shit and some shit I didn't did. I did this. I did this. He's All-Star. He's all-sars shit over in the winter. That was definitely you with you. I got an East All-Star.
Starting point is 01:50:20 You got an East All-Star. Imagine that bitch just said, Nets. The way they treated me, fucking Nets. They didn't pay me my money. Fuck a net. But when I was an All-Star, it kind of... Yeah, I dig it. The real...
Starting point is 01:50:34 On a serious note, the real All-Star, the real problem with the All-Star is this. Refereean. That is the real problem. It's the referee. and in the All-Star game. Imagine you're a Luca, Shea, Yolkich, and you're roughing the game as a fun thing.
Starting point is 01:51:00 Soon as they get hit a few times, they checked out. Like, oh, yeah, I'm good. I'm not going to sit here and play a regular basketball game if you're not calling a regular basketball game, right? Think about when Kevin Durant went up and he got smacked and they just went the other way. Do you see the next possessions? All right, let me just go ahead and sit out here, shoot these jump shots.
Starting point is 01:51:22 I don't want to get hurt now. Because now you're allowing them to just play as physical as possible, so then it becomes, I'm just going to shoot jump shots. I'm not going to sit there and get hurt. I don't want to drive. There's going to be a whole bunch of sidesteps so y'all can't hit me. So the fact that you only have 10, 12, 20 free throws in a game where it's the best players, right?
Starting point is 01:51:45 You're taking away their aggression because you don't want to call nothing because you think it's appealing to let a motherfucker get hacked. So now I don't want to play. I got a season in the city. Yeah, I can see that. Yeah, they've been told let the game free flow. Let the game free flow. They don't want a lot of whistles, let the guys play. If it's obvious, then you call it.
Starting point is 01:52:08 It's really obvious for you to call it. If it's affecting, yeah. But other than that, they want the game like this. and they want to, so. But another thing. My love an all-star game. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:52:19 Kicking clothes lines. Oh, my God. Go the other way. But I think they should wrap it. Between the all-star game in, like, these highlights that be putting up on Instagram from, like, UCLA and stuff. Like, can't they play that? No. Can you play like that in the Austin game?
Starting point is 01:52:33 You call foul. You call your own foul. File! Yeah. Let them call their own file, man. Files. No. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:52:39 You try and shit? It's the foul. It's the fouls. Let the defense call foul. Real run. foul that turns you off. You ever got a hit? You ever got a hit? Sorry.
Starting point is 01:52:49 You got hit in an All-Star game, right? That shit hurt. How many times do you win? Three. This shit hurt. You ever got in a championship game? No. That shit worse.
Starting point is 01:53:02 It's like you didn't got hit all season at the last couple games. You just keep getting hit. It's like a build-up. No, you said it. Yeah. How play-off changes, right? The calls between regular season and playoff, we'd be like what? Come on, God, that is different.
Starting point is 01:53:20 Well, foul. The All-Star game is worse. But I'm saying, as players, you know. But as players, you know levels of playing, like, you know to go 70 or 80, but they do be doing that bullshit. What happens to you when you started getting foul a lot? Do you even think about driving? No, you just shoot jump shots now And that's what the game is turning to
Starting point is 01:53:46 I don't want to get hit I'm going to shoot a bunch of jumpers I think they should just wrap All-Star weekend up though Turn it to a big ass basketball convention Have a barbecue Fun shit
Starting point is 01:53:55 Yeah like complex You know like Jason Wayne That's where you turn that stuff on You just want to see All-Star game in that they call Making it's a whole thing At the convention
Starting point is 01:54:05 They're having this shit at the jam session Anyway man Man Hey man look Zoom Zoom that bitch Zoom everybody at home and y'all zoom them.
Starting point is 01:54:15 Take it away. Just do one-on-one. Just do one-on-one. No, not. Now, don't even do that. You don't even got to do that. Just do some skill shit and have a bunch of, like a big-ass convention, a basketball convention.
Starting point is 01:54:26 They don't need to be no. Let me tell you, you know why? Because if I know, if I can, like, not be there. No, you have to be there. Like I said, like I said, half the guys come, right? Damn the game, right? Damn the game, right? Okay, we take the game out?
Starting point is 01:54:41 It's for every. It's for, all-star weekend, man. Like I said, it's for fan interaction. This is supposed to be for a fandom of guys, teams, it's supposed to be that. Let's use it for that. To B's point. Have it, like I said,
Starting point is 01:54:58 they just want to meet the players. Autograph, pitchers, opportunity. That's all the fans want, man. That game is overpriced. It's celebrity-driven. Have a fucking, it's a big ass party with basketball in the middle of it. It's a fashion show with, so have the same thing, have got, have big ass parties. Brun, you have, Brian got a party this year, he got a party, he's got a party, this company,
Starting point is 01:55:28 your looking sponsor this party, your looking sponsor this party, your looking to do this, your clothing line here, you got, you got, everybody got adventures, right? Yep. Everybody got something outside the game now, right? Yep. Bring it all together. Yep. Bring big ass
Starting point is 01:55:41 Take it with us. Burning, man, whatever we want to call it. Bring this shit together. A complex problem, basically. Let people have it that way. Let people run on the court. Yeah, have somebody on the mic. Because back in the day,
Starting point is 01:55:52 Austin, we used to have where, you say, Jamfest, where guys used to come and be at a section at one court right here, another guy way over there. It's like just a bunch of shit going. And you have, like, guys coming through doing talks. It's like, yes. So remains to be seen. Because that's all it is anyway.
Starting point is 01:56:06 Kajja had a thing was spotted last year. Kajah wasn't a, he went to all-star. Right. They were spoiled and like it's Let people stand up Like record Who's watching the game Don't like the game
Starting point is 01:56:18 They don't Because they complain about it The people who go there are paying $10,000 to have fun All the complaints That's coming from the people sitting at home Watching Take it away from their motherfucking ass
Starting point is 01:56:32 If you want this experience You gotta come here Having out of the stadium And make that happen to have that I'm with that. And stream it. No, no, take it. No, no, take it.
Starting point is 01:56:42 No, no, I'm not streaming shit. Fuck you. You want to, you want to complain? You can't watch it. I will, I will, I will have it here at SoFi. Man, and I guarantee you those seats. Because it's, we've never complained about it not being sold out. Right.
Starting point is 01:57:00 Same people coming every year, buying the same tickets, and they keep buying. Like, Jay Z, they're going to be there. They're spending their 30, $30,000 every year. obviously they're having a good ass time it's the fans watching complaining take it away
Starting point is 01:57:18 you don't need to put it on TV treated like a comedy show no phone leading up to historically right from Thursday to Sunday right before the All-Star game that is the fun of All-Star
Starting point is 01:57:34 Weeks. Most people most people don't even they ain't stand Sunday they fucking you're right we did most of the fun and if you're not playing in that game you ain't got no obligations on Sunday late you're waking up you're checking the fuck out
Starting point is 01:57:49 and you're leaving that's just the way it is from Thursday Saturday is the fun of all-star weekend that's the fans that's parties that's footlock events that's this event that's when you have an opportunity
Starting point is 01:58:05 for tough crowd is everybody has an opportunity doing from Thursday to Sunday before the game. That's when people go using for that get rid of the game itself man like it's just it's pointless at this man because you're going to
Starting point is 01:58:22 gimmick you gimmick last year people complain you get me this year what's going to because it's going to be a failure once again and what are you going to turn back to next to so you can run it out of gimmicks right you're running out of gimmicks let people stand up and drink and watch again like a rail like it don't it's not the atmosphere is not the atmosphere is not
Starting point is 01:58:43 the atmosphere it's you foul me dog i'm not going hard no more so call it how about this gimmick call the game like you do any regular game if lucca get his in-game fouls in the all-star game That's enough basketball. Luca will play like Luca. Think about the people who don't play hard. Yokic never plays hard there. He is the most foul damn near, and he don't get those calls. You're talking about Luca.
Starting point is 01:59:17 If you have these guys are getting the calls how they play the game, they're going to play that game hard. But if I know, if Luca knows he's not going to get his cause, he's not going to hard. That's why he's never went hard. And to B's point he just made, right? You keep the celebrity game. You keep that
Starting point is 01:59:33 You got to keep all of that You keep the rookie That's a popular game now The celebrity game is going Celebrity game now It's popular right It's content You need that
Starting point is 01:59:43 I tell you I see four celebrities right here You keep the rookies You keep the rookie You keep the rookies Because they're rookie sophomore shit They go because there's Up and coming challenge
Starting point is 01:59:53 You keep that shit Skills challenge Dunk contest Three point You keep all of that shit Because that's Saturday night fun You make that into a It's a party as it
Starting point is 02:00:02 still. You keep a celebrity game, keep all of those events. People could give fucks about the Sunday, man. They just come in that bitch to put it on their fashion shit to come, spending the 30, 40,000 to sit court side for two and a half hours and just Sunday be brunches and parties. That's what it is. Like a brunch. That's what it is.
Starting point is 02:00:21 Like Sunday just be a brunch. I know when I'm there, I'm trying to find a brunt spot. Yeah, I'm about saying, let's go to everybody, just go to KD brunch. Atmos. They can get skipped. The Rock Nation join on something. It's all this, man. The only problem with it all is always the money that's made from the game.
Starting point is 02:00:40 The advertisers, that's what the NBA is not going to get rid of because a lot of people are paying for those ads. And that's why I'm saying, if your gimmick, the gimmick doesn't need to be gimmick if you just call it like a, you think these motherfuckers here is averaging 39, 11 and 7 wants to be hit at this game. You think
Starting point is 02:01:04 Yoak's average, triple double, wants to just be grabbed on. And why you think certain players, think about what I'm saying, your three MVP type of guys don't go hard in this because it's at a disadvantage of the game itself.
Starting point is 02:01:20 So just call it regular. If you call it regular, the first one to go in and he get hit and you call a foul, they're calling it today. The next one going to try it. You're calling it. Now you've got regular basketball.
Starting point is 02:01:33 So I think Yonis... So I think certain... I think certain guys can set the tone, right? Yonis does it every year. He's on the way. They just move out of the way. Move out of the way. Step currie, lay on the floor.
Starting point is 02:01:45 Like, that's what's happening, right? Because you know what he's going to do. So just call it right? And I think Shay on the other side, if he took his series from the beginning, he can set the tone as well because how he plays. It's just all... They've got to call the foul. It's all.
Starting point is 02:01:56 If I pump faking and you... If I pump faking you get you off and I go and then they just The ball go out of bounds. Just do running clock in if you're going to call them. Let the defense call foul. Don't stop out. Running clock. It's an effective strategy.
Starting point is 02:02:11 Let the defense call foul. Like, what are you kidding? I'm not calling the class. Make me tougher, can you? Make me a real hooper. They're doing everything but call the bitch regular. Man, one foul make you not. You want me to go hard calling regular?
Starting point is 02:02:27 I don't want to do a cross-over. and I get clotheslines. Checking out. When have he got a close line? I want to say somebody anybody... Kobe got his nose broke. And still went hard. And still we're hard.
Starting point is 02:02:39 You had to know that he's never been serious since, but nobody want to say it. When he got his nose broken, everybody went like, oh, shit. Oh, shit. It ain't been serious. Kobe went right back at him. What I'm saying is, what, he got his nose broke. It ain't been serious. Now he's blaming it, what are you, are you listening to the words that's coming out of my mouth?
Starting point is 02:02:57 He went back hard at him. You said they get better? Once I watched, how about this? You don't try to get choked. I tried again. Once as a player, watch Kobe get his nose broke, I didn't want to go hard no more. How about that?
Starting point is 02:03:11 Does that make something better sense? That's because you're soft. Soft, soft, soft, soft. Everybody watched this man get his nose broke. Everybody's saying it's soft then. Everybody watched the man get his nose broke for going hard. Him and the way and Wade going hard. He got his nose broke and everybody's like, ooh, I don't want that.
Starting point is 02:03:29 I'm good. I'm good. We're just going to shoot some jumpers. I'm scared. It was going, yes. All right. Well, let's see it. Because Kobe going to play.
Starting point is 02:03:37 I ain't got Kobe. I'm going to miss three, four weeks. That's what everybody's thinking. I don't got that kind of blood. I'm not the Mamba. I don't just play through injuries like that. Oh, they started? Not playing hard.
Starting point is 02:03:48 We'll see how this All-Star game turns out. We'll also have a 5 p.m. Eastern start due to the Winter Olympics. Just throwing that out there. But we got one last thing. Where's it at this year? The Winter Olympics? I don't know. Not into it, don't.
Starting point is 02:04:01 Not just saying, why don't you even? Oh. NBC, NBC has the game. NBC has the Olympics back. The game is the game. So one last thing quickly before we head out for today. So Spurs handed the Bulls their first loss of the season Monday. Josh Giddy, or their first home loss of the season Monday,
Starting point is 02:04:15 Josh Giddy was sidelined for the game while dealing with a sprain right ankle. The sprain coming as a result of arguably the best play of the season thus far. Let's take a look if we can, please. So we got some calves in here for you, Shug. Oh, this. So during the third quarter of the Bulls lost, the cast Saturday in Cleveland, DeAndre Hunter called the Giddler slipping, ankle-breaking crossover that said Giddy fall into the ground.
Starting point is 02:04:36 Hunter finished the play with the two-ended dunk on Patrick Williams. He was limping after the play but remained in the game. He wasn't limited but remained in the game. Let's watch again. Oh. Did he mean? He tweaked. No, you don't get hurt after that.
Starting point is 02:04:47 So Giddy offered an explanation, said, as he made the crossover, I was on my tippy toes and tried to change direction and my ankle kind of just rolled a little bit. But yeah, it's not a good highlight real to be on. Good move by him. Is that a good move? That's a good move by the Andrejord. Yeah, that was a good move, yeah. This is what, you remember, you two young, we know, oh, ankle breakers, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 02:05:10 Ankle breaker, highlights they used to make the NBA used to make these angle breakers. And that, they used to be ankle breakers. He did that to. Tim Hardaway was on there a lot. Yeah, Tim. Yeah, Tim. Yep. Whop, you.
Starting point is 02:05:23 Ah. Anderson. Can me? Any Anderson? Yeah. hurt at there. No, yeah, I'm sorry. I don't know what you're like that.
Starting point is 02:05:32 That's what you're going. You got a trip ground. You got to yell him. That's four. That's a foreigner. I got a two for one. Two for one. Crossed you and dunked on your team.
Starting point is 02:05:42 And dunked on your team. And then you get helped off the floor. You didn't act hurt. Yeah, that's like. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. That's wrong with me.
Starting point is 02:05:53 That's wrong with me. To cut you. I'm not living out of here after that shit. dunked on John Collins? Yeah. Man. Oh, yeah. I didn't go out the game with a concussion.
Starting point is 02:06:03 That was bad. I'm not living out of it like that, though. Can't lead the game, remember? Yeah, you can't lead a game like that. He never got, well, he got helped off. Like, you ain't even going your own power. He said, come back in the game. Help me.
Starting point is 02:06:14 No, no, no, no. Show that Australian resilient. He better. He had to. Put like this. When it comes to, when it comes to a highlight, the atmosphere, this is like some high school.
Starting point is 02:06:27 shit that we see on YouTube, right? Where every time you watch it, you catch something different, right? You watch it, you got old what's the name, throwing his shit, like, oh! It's over.
Starting point is 02:06:40 It was over. Can we watch the game playing for a lot? You got me in a cop, man, like, it's just one of those things. Watch, you just got everybody doing something different. But when I let on, what I want to see is,
Starting point is 02:06:54 it's there. I got a question. Have y'all? seeing any reaction from the bulls bitch. It's what I want to know. Hey, is there a camera when he did this to his, hey. And what did his teammates? What did he got on?
Starting point is 02:07:10 Any of his teammates do this? Don't wear it up. Right, hey, like this. Wear them. You're just sitting there watching just all of it and it's just. Because you're on the team when buddy touched, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, the micrana?
Starting point is 02:07:23 Yes, the mic around. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. On the eight bench? The machina. That was, I was scared, man. I was like, oh.
Starting point is 02:07:35 And the macarana came as a result of that. None of that. That was the dance they did every time he turned his head. They were like, hey. I'm sorry. Yo. So we're trying to be focused. I've seen some bad ones.
Starting point is 02:07:51 That was bad. Like, that was bad because the game stopped. Yeah. Usually you get your hurt. Somebody's just riving down. He tried to play it off. The game had to stop because he's down. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:08:01 And he got a lip off the hip. Look at him. Look at him. There you go. There you go. Nobody got hurt. And I don't know if this is right in the NBA. I don't know if this is the NBA.
Starting point is 02:08:11 Boy, boy, boy, boy, boy. I'm going to tell you right now. You come in that locker room after the fact. Hey, young fella, you all right? Hey, one of us vet to be like, hey, young fella, you all? Hey. Wise. He couldn't be a wizard.
Starting point is 02:08:29 I can tell you that. It could have been a nugget neither. It's over for him. Yeah, he, oh, what? What? Man, could you imagine Chuck Eacken's in that motherfucker boy? It's over for. Chuck is on that team.
Starting point is 02:08:41 Could you imagine Chuck Eackens and you then, man, so Chuckie was when he touched her? Oh, yeah. Say last. You got Chuckie, you got Chuckie, you got Brandon Haywood, and you got Jared, you got them three. You think, like, that's what I'm saying. Every time he come across, he started talking. Damn. There was nothing he could do.
Starting point is 02:09:07 There was nothing he can do. It was done. They didn't care. Like, you couldn't argue with him? Yeah. Like, imagine, like, as you in the game, come on, man, you got to get around that pick and roll. I got you. Sweet you serve.
Starting point is 02:09:21 Just like, that's the moderate ass. You know, that man, touch earth. both hands. Yeah. But yeah, that's a, yeah, that's a, that's a, that's one, he got hurt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And your teammate got flushed on. And he got dunked on.
Starting point is 02:09:34 Yeah, you got too. I can tell you this. You got dunked on and nobody cares. At all. No. You got poster and no. That was the least important part of that. Absolutely.
Starting point is 02:09:45 You got a foul. Hang out. Yes. You got a gentleman. He dropped your teammate. Listen, he dropped your teammate to go to the basket. All is. He needs to be looking up at the motherfucking ring.
Starting point is 02:09:55 Like, God, damn, that was a nice move. Right? Hey, that's all he would have been saying. He would have limped to the free throw line like, damn, I got to make two. Okay, what's worse? If you, that person, being giddy or being him? Or being young fella. Fucked up the ayes.
Starting point is 02:10:14 Or being Brent, who got dunked on and his body hit the flow. The live by DeAndre Jordan. Burned a night. Which one? He was done after. Yeah. Which one? Like, you don't want to be that one.
Starting point is 02:10:28 That Jason Terry one was bad too in Boston. Jason Terry on the run. Brandon Knight, John. Brandon Knight was... That was a dead body. Yeah. That was like... That's when memes just started to.
Starting point is 02:10:38 They should have put an outline on the court and had that bitch permanently... Yeah. Here lies this man's soul. Yeah, I don't want to be a dead body. Yeah. Even though it's a big... Still, why are you down there? Listen, man, it looked...
Starting point is 02:10:52 It looked like he dunked him and the ball. No, no, no, no. It looked like he threw him in first and then the ball behind it and tried. Listen, man, that was violent. Yeah, he hit that. He had no reason. He had no reason to be jumping either. Right?
Starting point is 02:11:05 It ain't like he bounced. He hit that motherfucker. You know the impact you had to have for you not to bounce off the ground? Well, that's, hey man. He just had a little. Oh. On that note, good place for us to wrap up. And it goes back to my saying, listen, man, stop minding people business, man.
Starting point is 02:11:24 All the time. Listen, you get caught, you get around, you minding people's business around their rim, and you ain't got, those are the results. And why are you talking about, mine in my business, man, mind your business. Stay out your business, stay out of my business, dog. Damn. Jason Terry, Brandon Knight, all of them up.
Starting point is 02:11:40 Hey, stay out of grown folks' business, man. Slow bow, swift. Yeah. Do what you get paid for. Your job ain't to try to block shots. You want to in a position to take no charge. You want to put none of the above. You can be a charge, hey, man.
Starting point is 02:11:57 Like, I tell people, listen. He's playing hard. Hey, new NBA. I'm going to tell you, if you see Anthony Edwards go drive to the basket, he'd do this shit, he'd get the two, and he gets this bitch here, there's been enough people of his first six years. When he get that bitch here, move the fuck out the way. Yeah. Because you're going on the fucking poster.
Starting point is 02:12:15 You're going on the highlights tonight. No, you are. Two feet here, move. Sometimes he'd be stuck in those situations. No, you don't. You don't watch basketball all. You see that man coming? I'm telling right now.
Starting point is 02:12:27 Man. I block shots. I file out people. Vince used to come to the bad. Gills with my dumb ass used to do. Hoof. Yeah. It wasn't dumb.
Starting point is 02:12:34 Certain motherfuckers coming. It wasn't dumb. Hey, you got it. Kobe drives to that motherfucker basketball where you was that young? Listen, if I can't get you on the ground, I'm moving the fuck out of the way, bro. You're not fendom. I'm not going to be on that. God damn, Kay.
Starting point is 02:12:49 Like, you see the teammates looking at me in the locker rooms. Scared to say something. You know how I'm going to react? Like, no. Like, I'm getting the fuck out the way. If I can't slap me across your arm, me hit the ball out your hand, I'm swiping from over here.
Starting point is 02:13:05 But those is live, though. You sometimes jump to try to... No. And I jump. A tip of them is different. I jump high in both of the dudes, Nick. I jump hiding both of them dudes. That's what I'm trying.
Starting point is 02:13:19 I jump hiding all of them. I don't know why they're just trying to do. Wait. That ball in there, I jump. I see DeAndre Jordan, I'm moving. That's just what the fuck it was, bro. It's not safe under there. Not safe.
Starting point is 02:13:32 Some stage advice. This is something from somebody when I listen to this. I used to wonder when some dudes, they seem to listen. Like a bad enough. I'm laughing at you. Why would you stand under there? Trying to take a goddamn charge. Trying to be a, trying to look, trying to look good on film.
Starting point is 02:13:47 Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, we didn't get that. Carlos Boozer is coming down on a fast break, and I try to take a charge. That's fake hustle. That was your last one. Boom. That was your last one. Boom!
Starting point is 02:13:59 And one. Wait, bitch, don't do this. And they be hugging that. Like, I was mad at shit. Like, wait. Like, you know, you sit there and take it, but I'm inside and he leave with it. Boom, boom, we fall and then right. Oh, I went on the fuck on here too.
Starting point is 02:14:17 What is wrong with you? Now the play stop. Now they ain't talking. Now they're gonna get to the free throw line. Free throw lines, shit like that. I'm here making you dumb ass. See, dudes, I wasn't taking it over. On that team, I didn't did that a couple times.
Starting point is 02:14:29 I don't think I took one real charge in the NBA. I have. A real one? No, not a chance. Yeah, I got that. And I see you coming to me. I charge. No, they get you dunk down.
Starting point is 02:14:39 I was trying to look good on tape. On that. See that effort? Oh, yeah. Good place for us to wrap up on this lovely Wednesday. I don't think Team Mcfield had them out.
