So let's get into it. We had some Western Conference playoffs. Last night, two games late. Thunder made Light Work of the Suns with a 35 point blowout win in game one of their opening round series. OKC's top rated defense did what they do best, holding Phoenix a 35% shooting

and dominating both sides of the ball. Suns tried to bounce back in game, But it was more of the same from the reigning MVP in his supporting cast. Let's take a look at the highlights if we can, please. SGA led the way with a game high 37 points on 13 of 25 shooting, along with nine assists and five boards. His third career playoff game with 35, 5, and 5, and 22nd playoff game with 30 plus points over the last three seasons.

Thunder been number one in the West for each of those three seasons. Now the game was close in the first half. Suns did their best to try to even things up. Thunder took an eight-point lead into the break. Thanks a player. You see Jay Lewis will talk about him in a second. Some unfortunate news for Jay Dubb. Fow, foul.

I said, Jaylon Williams, 19 points in the first half, but left the game midway through the third quarter after suffering the left hamstring injury. Chet Holmgren added 19 points, eight rebounds of four blocks, anchoring the thunder defense. Dylan Brooks led the sons

with the team high 30 points on 12 or 23. shooting before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. Devin Booker added 22 points of seven boards. Jaylor Green had 21 on 8 of 23 shooting, but a team high seven turnovers. OKC outscored Phoenix 3520 in the third quarter to take control of the game, led by as much as 26 points in the fourth quarter before the

Suns tried to make a late game rally. Sons cut that deficit to 10 with under four minutes remaining, but that's as close as they would get. Thunder Force 22 turnovers in the game, scoring 22 points off those sons and missed cues. Now, OKC, six team in NBA history with 10 straight wins in the first round while the Sons have now lost a franchise record

eight straight playoff games. Swaggy, I heard you commentating during the highlight. What are your biggest takeaways from the Thunder's game two win over the Sons? We all seen this coming. Sometimes the team is just better than you. And so, OKC is. The fact they could turn,

they could get Phoenix to turn the ball over at the rate they're doing. I don't think that has nothing to do with officiator. That's just defense. Game players frustrated. And they're taking care of business. It's the reason why they're the number one team. They all on the same in court. They all play defense. They know they rose. And they're playing with confidence, you know, how they're playing right now with J. Dove back and Chet doing the things he do. Shea's on the mission, 37 last night. I think OKC is just too much for the Phoenix right now. Too much for the Phoenix Suns.

Mr. Bidl, shift over to you. Biggest takeaways from the Thunder is game two win over the Suns. I mean, this series is already over. I mean, you know, Dylan Brooks, Jaylen Green, you know, they're trying to do the best they can. You know, they're the ones that shooting a lot of the shots. You know, they're not really. You know, they're not really getting a lot out of Devin Booker.

He had 14, what, 14 shots last game or something like that. So they're definitely trapping him and putting a lot of pressure on them. I mean, they just don't have any chance. I mean, it just doesn't matter about the reps or anything like that. It's just their energy at home. You know, J. Dubb just went down. But, I mean, you know, this, I mean, this series is over and forward, man. Like, this is just something to where OKC could just work on their game.

Just keep getting better. I know SGA just hurt his hand, so we'll see what that timetable is on that. But, I mean, other than that, man, they're just too deep. They're just too deep and they're just too good right now. S.A. I heard his hand earlier in the game. I obviously looked a little bothered by it, but still put up 37 in the win. So not too phase by, but like you mentioned, J. Dub, hamstring injury. Other leg, you know.

It sucks to see him go down too. He only played 33 games. It looked like he was just going to get into his bag. But they're too deep, man They have enough. Like, you know, if J. Dub is going to be out, he can rest until the Western Conference Finals.

Dr. McCants, were your biggest takeaways from the Thunder game to win over the suns? I haven't really been a fan of the Thunder this year. And I'm guessing it's because of the whistle.

It's a lot of things that you can say as a hooper when you go into the locker room, prep for the game, and the coach come in, and he said, tonight it's going to be eight on five. It's going to be eight on five. We got to figure out how to get it. They're going to get their whistles. We're playing against them in the refs, so we got to figure out how to balance the score sheet. The one thing as a team you know that's happening when you're out there playing defense against guys who can play, and you can't say they can't play.

I mean, SGA is good, Chet's good, J.W. is good, A.J. Mitchell is good. There's a lot of those guys out there that can play. So the play without fouling is a different type of mindset when you're going out there as a team. as you're an underdog, you're supposed to lose this game. But how do you guard guys when you know you plan like you can't guard them? Because they're going to get the whistle on every given chance. So it sets you back automatically. And you can see they was playing not to foul, and they were still getting foul.

But it's never really truly about the officiating, like y'all saying. It's really about your approach. And I think them not having no big to counterfeit. balance Chet and Harkinstein on the floor at the same time. That's tough. And you really don't got no rotation. I don't know who number 11 is.

I don't know who number 10 is. Y'all nickers ain't got no answer for that shit that they do and throwing the lobs and shit. That gets SGA really, like, he's breezing out there. It's cruise control. So Devin Booker, I could see his frustration

when he's trying to do what SGA's doing. And I can see Dillon Brooks' frustration as far as, this is the playoffs, bro. like all that shit y'all did to get the calls and all that shit in regular season that's cool we give you all that but this playoff time let's play equal let's like give us the same cause they're getting or let's not call shit and i'm not saying that that changes the outcome of the game because like y'all said i mean okay see do look polished defensively i think they're they definitely running around they're doing what they're supposed to do but they don't mean they're not fouling that don't mean that they out there they're everybody everybody all defense and they just, the greatest defense of team. So Williams missed extended time earlier this season with the right hamstring injury. Only he missed 49 games total.

a bunch to start the season with the wrist injury recovered from wrist surgery and then hamstring injuries as well. Thunder were 39 and 10 without their robin. So just looking at this series and potentially beyond,

how concerning is Jalen Williams hamstring injury for the Thunder moving forward? I don't think it's... It's a little concerning. AJ Mitchell, he picked up the pieces for them. It's still a little concerning, though. You get deeper into this postseason now.

I mean, because this is the guy you did win a championship with. So I know everybody, I know the second unit, everybody can, you know, pick up the table, but he still is who he is. He averaged 13 points, five rebounds, 1.4 assists while playing in all 82. games this season. First player in franchise history to score at least 1,000 points off the bench in the season. And his 1,081 points total... He had 1,081 points, first Spurs player to score 1,000 points off the bench. Oh, yeah. 1,081 points total off the bench was the second most in the NBA of the season. Johnson, the Spurs, longest-tenured active player,

starter for most of his first four-plus seasons in the league, led the Spurs in scoring during the 22-23 season. I think averaging nearly 22 points a game. Team finished 22 and 60 that year before Pop moved him to the bench during the 23-24 season. He's admitted the decision was hard to accept initially, but he was committed to doing what was best for the team.

Flourished in that role, obviously, and been instrumental in helping turn the franchise around. So he beat out Jaime Hockes Jr. and Tim Hardaway for a six-man of a year. When you're just looking at with Kelton Johnson, obviously, fourth season, third season, average 22 in the league. Embracing this role as a six-man now joins Manu Janobli as I believe the only six-man war winners in Spurs history.

Shabwe, we will start with you first. What's your reaction to Kelton Johnson winning six-man of the year? Much deserved. You know, he's been a spur, loyal, faithful. He had to go through that dreadful pop stage where he didn't have no superstars and wasn't winning nothing. Tanking. Trying to figure it all out. ground zero.

And then the Ags to come off the bench thinking that you do what you do. And he's one of those underrated players that can get to the bucket, can offensive rebound, defend, he'd do everything. So for him finally to get his just due, you can see his emotions when he found out.

I don't know if people've seen that or not, but he felt like the journey's been definitely worked it now that he's being rewarded and credited for his patience and his sacrifice. And I think a lot of players like him have done similar things when you're playing on certain teams that have pedigree and prestige. And you have to take that backseat. And a lot of guys who play for the Spurs will unwilling to take those back seats, given the opportunity to take one for the team.

And I think he's done it. And for them to get the complete reward would be to win the championship for someone like him, for someone like Devin Fasel, who would be. during the turmoil and during the downtime. And I think that he definitely got what he deserved, for sure. So Mr. B, when you see Kelton Johnson, gold medalist, started for the bulk of the first four-plus season's career, now shifted to a bench roll, found success in that. What's your reaction to Kelton Johnson winning sixth man in the year?

First, congratulations. Speaks on all the hard work and just the sacrifice that he did. speaks on the organization too. Find it, finding ways to get players in the right position. I know it'll be hard, but things always work out over there in San Antonio for a lot of players. And just to take on that challenge and, you know, to go from leading the team and scoring to come off the bench and your team is number two and have a, have a chance to win a championship. I mean, what more can you ask for? You know, this just be volumes on his character and his maturity. This is a guy that's going to be in the league.

for a long time to me because of just on the challenge that he took and that he's taken and being on San Antonio and you know the way they move the way they are regardless of he's going to be here for his whole career or not but just this moment right here is going to really identify him for the rest of the league that you know he's a player in a bet that you can count on to be able to say you know hey I went from being a leading school on a team to now I'm the sixth man of the year and you know I can take on any role so that's that's a guy that's going to be a great vet when the years come.
