I'm Jack Quist-Pice Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit podcast,
Starting point is 00:02:10 we're outside asking why. They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, Michael Maxes and Martin Luther King running around. And when you look at a lot of different cultures, they're like, we need to know where you came from. And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question is, what are you reading next?
Starting point is 00:02:26 Listen to Black Lit from the Black Effect Podcast Network, on our iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Let's shift over to the Western Conference, if we can. So just days after saying he wants to be a lifer with the Warriors, Steph Curry, all but made that official agreeing to a two-year, $116 million extension with the only team he has ever known in his NBA career. This is our pocket watching, sedent with ladies and gentlemen. It's a double-banger today.
Starting point is 00:02:54 But the deal includes a player option in 2028 that will keep him under contract until at least his 19th season, potentially his 20th season if he opts in or signs another duo after that. Chef Curry, longest, tenured active NBA player
Starting point is 00:03:04 with the same team, eligible for $137 million extension, took $20 million left than is max to give the Warriors roster flexibility. So Golden State projected to have around $64 million in cap space
Starting point is 00:03:17 next summer with Draymond and Jimmy Butler in the final year of their deals. Steph won four chips, two MVPs in his career, franchise leader in games played points, field goals, three,
Starting point is 00:03:27 and free throw percentage, to name a few, many more for them. Rear averages of 25.6 assists, five rebounds, two steals on 47, 42, 91 split. So Swaggy will start with you. The man who helped make you an NBA champion, your former squad, Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry making an official. He'll be back for year 18, year 19, potential year 20 with this new two-year extension, 116 mil. What's your reaction to Steph Curry agreeing to a two-year extension with the Warriors? Oh, he deserves it.
Starting point is 00:03:57 He is Warriors. He is Oakland when you think of it. He is the Bay, Steph Curry. It would have been fun just as a fan to see him on another team doing it. But knowing Steph, he's going out like that, you know, that Kobe with the Lakers field, I feel like he deserves it.
Starting point is 00:04:18 It's Steph Curry, man. Brung the Bay four championships, MVP. Nobody's seen the Warriors been. one of those type of franchises, especially when they had Gil, Baron Davis, you know. Gil, Baron David.
Starting point is 00:04:35 And Bobby Surr and shit like that. So Gil, Gil Baron Davis, Bobby Surr. It was a good time when B.D. was playing. It was We Believe with a shit. Yeah. A bunch of liquor store niggas, a bunch of corner niggas getting together for one journey.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Just to beat Utah, what are the Dallas. They all came. together like Thunderboat. It was the Thunderboat. They was the Thunderboat Avengers. So, but after that, you know, you know what I was. Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt Avengers. Damn, Doc. The gang of corner man got together. Avengers.
Starting point is 00:05:28 The greatest assemblers of corned niggas in the future of the national national basketball association. They had a lot of them. That's fucked up. Thanks, man. That was a good first. That was a good one. Gil B.D. Bobby Sur all the same cheer in the mine.
Starting point is 00:05:44 But happy to see stuff, get that to you, $116 million. Yeah. People getting paid at this age. How old is he 38, 39? Yeah, it's crazy. It's crazy, bro. How y'all ever seen? Never.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Never. It's never happened. I don't know what they're using, just keep doing it. Yeah, just let them keep getting it. Well, it can't be that much technology that changed. My brother, the body is the body at 39 and 40. Listen, we just go, we just go, listen, we don't want to know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:11 The body is the body at this age, though, bro. Can nothing change? We don't want to know. Whatever they're doing it. And let them keep doing it. Just keep performing so I can keep watching you on TV year at the year. I don't want. What's that?
Starting point is 00:06:25 I want some of that shit. What's that motherfucker that's up? Pablo. I don't want Pablo to figure out the game. We need him out of the game. You try to figure out why motherfuckers play in 39, we're going to whip your ass. I want my cars playing as long as possible. Yeah, we need them out.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Yeah, don't figure this out. Don't find that. Don't find out. Hey, bro, who allowed them on the playground? I like you to stick to Kiwai and the Christians, Bobo. Oh, shit. I'm over the pocket squares. Like, bro, we don't need nobody taking somebody.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Instead, we play and pick up. We don't need you organizing the runs. Get the fuck of out of here. Pablo going to find out. You know what I mean? He's following you. He's following you home. Right?
Starting point is 00:07:06 Maybe he's on wealth there. So what? Get that bargeman, ladies and gentlemen. He's like, so fucking what. Leave it, leave it be. Man, let it, let it ride. He's twisting the game. He got the game.
Starting point is 00:07:21 $160 million. He gave back $20 million to this Warriors franchise, trying to keep them under the second. apron, my least favorite thing about the NBA, I hate seeing Superstar players have to give back bread to help billionaire owners. But this, neither here nor there. That's always been, that's always been an argument. You got your millionaires, sacrifice for the billionaires.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Right. Yeah. And that's, that's crazy. That's crazy. We don't want to go over the second apron. And they're going to continue to make money. You don't want to come out of your pocket. Because we're going to hurt your legacy.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Not hurting the legacy of the Warriors, we're working 11-12-10. Yeah, yeah, you're going to grow. And you're going to grow. And they're going to grow on. And they're going to grow. years later, you're going to be like, damn, dog, I shouldn't have took nothing off the table. But the media has done great job making the fans look at the players and not the owners. Realizing the owners, this is their team forever.
Starting point is 00:08:13 But they don't want to take a pay cut. Like, I'm getting my profit, right? So I don't want to go over this second ever because it's going to cost me. Right. So you're like this year, right? You want to win, right? You want to win? It costs me this year.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Go ahead and take a little pay cut for your teammates. So we can make the roster better. So we can make the roster better. I can get your money to somebody else. They pay. I'm going overpay somebody for a Steph Curry sacrifice. Yeah, it's an owner's league now. When you think of it.
Starting point is 00:08:44 That's what it really is. You're going to sacrifice Jalen Brunson, sacrifice for me to overpay for somebody else. But you get to go on Saturday Night Live, Gil? No. You get to become a mega sports. He was funny on Saturday. He was. He was real good.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I'm glad to get it. Shout out of Stanley Brunson. Steph, good shit. Are they going to spend the money well? Probably not. That's this here nor there. Who's free agents next year? That's really going to matter.
Starting point is 00:09:12 You know what I mean? At this point and then, you know, you got Steph. He's going to be approaching 40 at some point. Like, when do you start thinking about, I need a young dude to come in here and bring that electricity? What the Warriors is missing? It's electricity. They don't have a young gun, a young star.
Starting point is 00:09:32 You don't have that pool effect where it's like, I know he didn't bang. You know what I mean? I know he didn't just shoot this one for 35 feet. Like you need that type of dynamic player personality. And now, like, you kind of being built as a stabilized veteran team around your dynamic superstar with no young gun to compliment that. He missed it. The three was with that second pick, they'll have got Lamello. Yep.
Starting point is 00:10:02 And then they got Poole and then they got Kaminga. Yep. Those three, your two guards, like Stefan Clay, with Kameenka. Right? Now, now when your older guys are moving out, you got the young guns coming. That's crazy. Right? That would have kept your legacy.
Starting point is 00:10:19 That would have been the two times. That would have been the two times. Which one? Hallie. Hallie. But he wasn't. He couldn't have got Amman too. He wasn't that far down.
Starting point is 00:10:28 But we're talking about like that two, three, he could have been Lamello. That was the only one, one, two, or three. Who went after him? He could have got Ant Man, though. Remember they told him he didn't want to have Ant Man? But Edman was one number one. Oh, he won't.
Starting point is 00:10:39 But Steve Carth, they were funny. He was funny. But I mean, that's a funny. He didn't work hard. He didn't have the number one pick. He was funny with Ant Man. He could have moved up. He said he ain't going to travel.
Starting point is 00:10:48 He took the one? So you had Lamello. Or Lamello? Hallie. Danny Avdi. Any of those. Any of those, any of those. Danny would have worked out for that.
Starting point is 00:11:00 But I'm saying that's the number two, you could have picked Lamello. Yeah. I was like, oh, Lamello's, and they won't with it big. Middle School is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls. We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two Black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all this same time. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying,
Starting point is 00:13:07 and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then there's fitting in. Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down. with therapist care gains on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips, you have on the dressy, you have to cross your legs. That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the father's doing the work at home. We have to get off her device, but the reality is there's a lot of life
Starting point is 00:13:45 out there that we don't want you as your adults in their life to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run. Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Starting point is 00:14:17 And I'm here with Timmy Tillman, L-A-F-C-Star, grew up in the academies of Germany, and now under the bright lights of Major League Soccer. So, we know a little something about kicking balls. Maybe you're new to the game or you're ready to take your passion to the next level Each week we'll tackle things like Who's winning the Premier League this year Playing like a number 10
Starting point is 00:14:36 Do you know what that means? Then we go over to France Ligoon Liga. Liga. He knows more, he's better than me. What do you think is harder? Scoring a penalty kick or scoring a field goal?
Starting point is 00:14:47 He's in NFL and I'm like just a big factor I do enough that's crazy Join us each week for a quick chat with your soccer-loving bros about the best sport in the world Soccer, just don't tell my coaches I said that. Listen to Big Kick Energy on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. The WNBA playoffs are about to begin.
Starting point is 00:15:07 The talent is insane and the personalities are giving main character energy. And of course, the fans love it. But 30 years ago, when the league first started, it was a different story. I remember sitting with a couple of male writers all whining about, oh, what are they going to do if they break a nail? No one's going to show up. But from the very beginning, there were two teams that captured everyone's attention. The Comets were the real deal.
Starting point is 00:15:32 I mean, come on. The Liberty never gave up. They never stopped fighting. I knew that rivalry was going to be amazing from the beginning. I'm Kerry Champion, and this is biggest rivalries of all time, season two. The New York Liberty versus the Houston Comments, the very first rivalry of the WNBA. They picked us to finish last, and they picked them to finish first. That's all you need to know.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I remember looking around thinking this is going to change things. Basketball was going to have this fundamental impact on the way people viewed women athletes. Listen to biggest rivalries of all time on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Is there bad blood between you in the comments as you guys meet again in the championship? Oh, we're coming back to win. They got rid of it. You gotta get young, dude. They gotta get young because this is a young person's league.
Starting point is 00:16:33 You gotta get young. Because you need athleticism. You know what I mean? And you need to preserve stuff. You got Draymond. You gotta preserve him. You got to preserve him. Prozengis coming back from injury.
Starting point is 00:16:45 You gotta preserve him. So you gotta have- You need some dynamic young dude. And I'm not talking about people who are good players. You need somebody that's electric that's like, hey man, Let's see what he can do. Just go out there and try and get 40. Try and get 30.
Starting point is 00:17:01 They don't have that. And I don't think pod, excuse me, I like pod, but I don't think pot is that. He's not electric. But they rely on him for that. They did. When you think about it, he's their six men. He's that guard. The pot slandery.
Starting point is 00:17:20 He's that guard that comes in that's six-man disruptive. I think you need somebody that has. a greater capacity of being able to win a game based on them. So you've got Central Free. They missed it in the draft. Oh, this year too. Right, what pick did they have this year? They had like a lottery pick.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Yeah, a lottery pick. They picked the kid, Yaxel. He's a good. They have 23. Yeah. That's not him. Ready to plug and play right now. Get to it.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Odi. He's 23. But who they got, though? Mature. He's 23. Okay. When we're talking about, like, by the time Steph Curry is done, he's 27, like Caming is big a league, he's 20 years.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Like, I need somebody, I need somebody that's 18, 19. That you can groom up. That I can groom up for a year or two, and he's only 21 at the time. Not 26. Why not take the 23 year? I can not throw him right away and get your 23 right assail? Because that is not helping you for the future because he's, he is not going to be your dynamic superstar.
Starting point is 00:18:26 guy that you can groom. He's going to always be a great player. He's 23. So you know what it is. Like he's going to get better, right? He's going to have great years. He'll be a better shooter, better playmaker. But he's, you need somebody that has the potential to get to where Steph Curry or one of those guys, you know, that's by the time he gets there. By the time he's getting, I don't know. What is really wrong with being 23 though? 23 in me, Swig. Okay. So Caminger, how long is Kiminger? How long is Kimmer? He didn't have been in the league. He's 23, 22, 22. He's 20. He's 23. Oh, it was Michael Jordan.
Starting point is 00:19:01 21. But back then, everybody was coming in over. Everybody went to college and played in a couple years. But then what happened was when the KGs, them started coming out of high school, what they started doing is the data. Four years, where's these people? Oh, shit, four year, he's an all-star. And he's only 22, 21? Hold on. So wait. So four years inside of this. This machine, no matter what age you are, like we seem like the younger ones are actually picking up faster, right? The younger ones are picking up faster. It's better for the younger ones because as you start to develop a game, then your game is going to start to have to fit into other people's program if you're not elite elite. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:53 So now when you're younger, it's like, man, I take a chance on a 20 years. year old, right, and give him the keys, right? A 23-year-old, he got a shorter window of time from the time he hit in the league. Like, he got to be something. You get a 20-year-old by the time he's 23. You're like, okay, he's finally matured. He's been here for four years, three years, four years.
Starting point is 00:20:15 It's time for him to go to the next level. That 23-year-old, you are in that, you're getting drafted in that next window of these dudes who've been in the league six, seven years. And that's what you're going to say. When you're coming in at 23, after your rookie season, there's no your, you're, it's your age group. So at 23, where you are compared to the field of 23.
Starting point is 00:20:41 You're all the way back here. And that's the unfairness that what they do. Like, so you're 23, I need to compare you with the rest of the field. So when you're coming up saying, I need this big bag. I'm going to look at your age. Yeah, I'm looking at your age first. I'm not looking at your years. You're 26.
Starting point is 00:20:58 This is my fucking 22. I don't even in the same round. I don't care if you in your thing. So he has to, the 21-year-old got to come in how Iverson came in, how Duncan came in, how Dane came in. You got to be working at a year. Yeah, you got to be working a year. And then you're all NBA player next year. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:21:16 So you got to, like, escalate all the way, all the way to then. So it's kind of hard. But they missed the window this year. They sell it. This year, instead of going after. They should have went after the kid from Tennessee. Who was that? Nate, Nate.
Starting point is 00:21:31 They should have went after Nate? Yes. That's wilder with. That's what I was. That's what you're doing. Yeah, because you got. They should have went after. You got veterans.
Starting point is 00:21:38 You can hide them behind in Butler and Prozengis. Dremont. I really thought they were picking him because he's the inside of eyesight. He's a most 16. He's an offensive. He's a passer. He's a kid ISO. Like that was, that's who you want to.
Starting point is 00:21:55 pick with Steph Curry, put Draymond at the five, put him at the four. That would have been a way better. Because if he start, you win. If he don't start, he will eventually start. Yeah. Right. Yaxel, it's like is Yaxel starting? He's coming off the bench. He's going
Starting point is 00:22:11 going to be good for the boys. He's going to help him be a better team. He's going to help them win games. He's going to be a good person as like a young vet. You know what I mean? He's going to fill out that young vet role that you need, but you still need somebody dynamic that can't nobody guard, and everybody else on the
Starting point is 00:22:31 team is guardable now. They need to, because you got Pazenegas. I forgot they have Pizenga. I know, but what I'm saying is it's a, it's a, like, they're looking, but all these guys are guardable. But that's what I'm saying, on a two-year, on the two-year deal, like you're talking about the big kid from Michigan. If I'm trying to win in the next two years, I got to draft him.
Starting point is 00:22:52 For sure. For sure. I like, because you could plug him in. what ends up happening is year three, when Steph is gone, Dremont's going to be gone. Prozengis is off this team, right? Jimmy Butler is off
Starting point is 00:23:05 this team. What am I left with? I don't have a young star and for the last four years when I've been getting these lottery picks I've been fucking them off. I've been fucking off my lottery picks and now I don't have nothing. I'm set back and
Starting point is 00:23:20 you don't even want draft picks because you met you hit you and hit a miss him. Yeah. Because my window of superstardom of my next generation, that's what I think. You got to go back. That's what I said you had the number two pick, right? Then you had pool. Then you had that person.
Starting point is 00:23:36 And then this pick, if I had picked young, after this group was gone, this team would have been like three, four years in. I would have been good. Similar to Zach Eady. He was a senior. Yep. He got drafted high. Now you look at Memphis and it's like, damn, dude, we needed a big dude to help John
Starting point is 00:23:54 and Bain and all these dudes, you know, like, get over the hump. He was good for them. He came in. He was solid. Now you got him. Now, he can't be the... Everybody's gone. Now, my old...
Starting point is 00:24:07 Son of your team. You know what I mean? Now you're like, I got a solid big man that's 27 years old. And, you know, like, or he was 23 when he came out. I don't know how the old he is. But, like, he's... He's... He's...
Starting point is 00:24:23 Big man. Oh. Okay, so he's 24 years old, what's second year. He got two more years to figure out you know what you're getting. And you ain't getting the All-Star Center. So he was hurt last season, BD, but he averaged 14 and 11. Yeah, that's solid. That's solid.
Starting point is 00:24:41 But how the offense is now. Now what? He played 11 games, though. Like, I don't think it's over at it. Just because you're 23. You got to be this type of person. No, it's just when you're coming in. You got to.
Starting point is 00:24:52 When you're coming in, we know what we get. So when Golden State draft Yaxel, you know he can be a 15 and 8. Or ultimately his ceiling is 20 and 10 at that position or a versatile position. Or 20 and 5, whatever. He can be a 20 point score. But you see what you're getting. When you get a young dude, it's like the kids that- Feeling is higher.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Yeah, in Chicago. Yes. In Chicago from North Carolina. Everybody was like, he Kevin Garnet. Summer League, you're like, damn, he's KD. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He just got a jumper and some handles over the workout. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:25:33 And now he don't even have to dunk on people. He's shooting threes, and you're like, damn, his potential is unlimited. Where it's like, Yaxel, your potential is going to be, is going to fit into the makeup of helping this team win. So you don't have, you don't have the grace. You don't have a grace. You don't have the grace or the patients.
Starting point is 00:25:56 At 23, like, your game can't change at 23. Your game can change for sure. Yeah, you're, yes, your game can change for sure. But your style of players who you are. Brunson was a damn same. But super, super stardom. That's hard. It's rare.
Starting point is 00:26:11 It's rare. He was dynamic. People looked at Brunson and was like, they looked at Brunson and said everything that he couldn't do. And they didn't look at Brunson and say, he's the player at a year. in college. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Nobody could guard him. Then when you put him on Dallas and he's a second round pick, you know, the second round pick, and you put them out there, you're like, damn, can't nobody guard.
Starting point is 00:26:34 It's the same thing with Gil. Nobody could guard Gil in college. They went to the finals. Like, him falling the second round is somebody, a lot of people made a lot of mistakes and forgot what he does well. So if you're a score
Starting point is 00:26:50 and somebody can't guard you and you can have your way in college, When you go to the pros, you're playing against some same dudes you're playing against in college. So, Jayman Brunson, it was only a matter of time where you're like, damn, dude, he's nice. Oh, shit, he should have his own show. Oh, shit, he's one of the top guards in the league. He's always been that.
Starting point is 00:27:11 High school, college, professional. Somebody coming out of nowhere and becoming that, you have to have. How long Brunson was in college, though? Four years. 20 class, but I'm not mistaken. Oh, yeah, yeah. All right, now, now. Not about me?
Starting point is 00:27:28 This is what people's going to look at. We're going to read you the 20-20 class. His actual class. Think about how long the other guys has been a professional that he's competing with. Name his high school class. I don't want to, Gil. Name is high school class.
Starting point is 00:27:41 So you can see the difference. Joe, why you don't want to do, Joe? So when you're trying to pay this guy, you're thinking about his original class and age group. Look how far. You don't mean nothing. Go. Kaye Cunningham.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Cade Cunningham. Jaylen Green. Jaylen Green. Evan Mowgli. Evan Mowbly. Jonathan Caminga. Ciminga. Osir Williams.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Iowa. Fourth-rater player. You got Scotty Barnes in there. But that don't mean nothing. If I'm late. Jaylen Suggs. It means everything. No.
Starting point is 00:28:06 I just get you an example. Brunson. Look at his class when he first came in. And look where they at now compared to Brunson. Brunson was number one in his class, bro. Look at Steph class. Where did Brunson get picked? Second round.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Versus a lottery. Steph was 21. Same thing. He came in. Steph was 21. He was a senior though. 21. He's the same.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Four years of college. No, nigger, five, six, seven years of college. At a time. At a time, where 21 was young, Nick. You got to think 21 was young when Steph came in. You had older guards. You had older dominant guards. So being 21, you got time.
Starting point is 00:28:50 And remember, step was on a two-year clock. They start clocking him at two years. Yeah, and you remember. He didn't get the money that he was, he only got $7 million after his contract. They were like, yeah, he eyed, I, I. And then he just, and he just, like, fuck the money. Let me get busy. He can't determine somebody game already by 23.
Starting point is 00:29:10 He cannot. You have to build, like, but you know what you're getting, right? When you draft somebody at 23, you're drafting, drafting them based on what you know. you're going to get in that play. He's 20. He's 20. About to be 24 before the season. Like, oh, this dude, oh, he's 24 years old.
Starting point is 00:29:32 He's ready to play right now. He has an NBA body and he's ready to contribute right now. Not we're going to draft this 24 year old, give him three years, and then after that be like, yo, he should be the best player in the league. You have to show that at 23. You got to be the best player in college. You got to be better than 19 year. You got to be more convincing than 19-year-olds,
Starting point is 00:29:55 and you got to be at a level where it's like, damn dude, this dude is just as good as Kaminga, just as good as Kay Cunningham, just as good as Jalen Johnson. So you've got to be just as good as everybody in your class that's been a little bit more. You have to put up the numbers. But he won, too, though.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Who? Axel. The Axel Lindnerner won an announcement at Michigan. Like, what I'm saying is his high school class, the niggas he was in high school with they all graduated. One is first team all NBA. So that's your peer. If Kade Kahnheim is your peer is not this class.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Your peer is Kade Cunningham. So when you're talking about you're a max player. You think they would have meant how to get paid? When I'm saying, when you say you were a max player, the max player. The Max Coy Cunningham wouldn't have went in Keg Cunningham. If he went to Michigan last year, he wouldn't even play. He'd have took the year off and get paid. But that's a million million dollars.
Starting point is 00:30:46 But that's what I'm not. But that's what you're talking about when you're talking about the level. When you're talking on my draft status, he'd have been not. number one. If Kay was in college, if, if, if, if, if, if, uh, Mowgli was in college, this is this cause, these are, these are the people who he, defensive player in the year in the league. The NBA is the same age as the number 11 pick.
Starting point is 00:31:08 And that's how the number 11 pick, but that's how they look at it. You should win a national championship. You're the oldest nigga there. You should. I can't. I'm not the oldest thing, man. But what I'm saying is you should. You're playing against 18, 19, 17, 17, year old.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Yeah. You're supposed to be more, you should have a pro game. You're supposed to. The old shit is the same. Everybody's on the same plan. No, you're not. Like, put me not. I'm going to show you, this is how it works.
Starting point is 00:31:34 That's why it recruits. If he averages 20, if he averages 20 as a 23-year-old, a kid who's averaging 10 at 17 or 18 years old is getting drafted before him. If he shows potential. Is what? If he has a kid who's averaging. On the same team. On the same team.
Starting point is 00:31:52 If a kid who's averaging 10. Play your same position. And he's a freshman, a true freshman at 18 years old, he will be drafted in front of him. You average 20 to doodle back you up. Average 10. And he built like you. You know what I mean? Who?
Starting point is 00:32:07 His backup is drafted. Yes. But that's how far off they are. Well, I'm just saying my argument is like you just can't say he is who he is at 23. People change the game. You know what you're getting. Nick, you at 19. You had 19, you at 23.
Starting point is 00:32:25 I know, but I'm just saying. You had more identity. So Nick Young at 23, we knew who we were getting. Nick Young at 19, somebody could take you and mold you into what they thought you could potentially be at 23, at 24. You don't get that. So you lose four years. So if I'm losing these four years by the time he gets to 23, I got to accept what I am. And then I also got to figure out how does this player become the best in my system, which means he goes to Golden State.
Starting point is 00:32:58 He may have a 15-year career at Golden State. He may put up incredible numbers at Golden State. He may wind up being an All-Star. But when you look at Golden State picking him, they're picking him to contribute right now and help them. They're not waiting. You know what I mean? But that's, I thought that. Like, they tried it with Wiseman, but it didn't work.
Starting point is 00:33:22 He was young. They was like, man, let us get this young dude. But they traded him at 20. Wiseman still, what, 23? That's Steve Kerr. Kaminga, 22. Kaminga is 22, dog. So now it's like, okay, he's 22 years old.
Starting point is 00:33:40 He's playing this league for five years. We've seen all kind of glimpses of what he could be. I'm going to take Kaminga. over a Yaxel, right? But if I'm drafting, I can draft a Yaxel and say, okay, he's just as good, if not a little bit underneath
Starting point is 00:34:00 where Kaminga is, but Kaminga does this. Yaxel is going to have to come in and prove he can do that. So we don't know. Like, if he overexceed expectations, he's going to be great. If he fits into the system,
Starting point is 00:34:13 he's going to be great. If he struggles, it's going to be hard. only been one player that actually turned into a legend coming into the lead that old was Elgin Baylor. That's our Elgin Baylor, Kim. Huh? Elgin Baylor.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Yeah, he got drafted at 24 years old. Serbian the Army. Yeah, he was, because he wins the Army. Yeah, he stole his step. David Robertson. He won rookie at a year. He was all-star. This is his first year.
Starting point is 00:34:42 So as a 24-year-old, look at the difference. He's coming in. He's rookie at a year. All-Star. he's third in MVP voting. First team all-NBA. Second year. Krip.
Starting point is 00:34:52 MVP, fifth in MVP votes. First team all-day. So his first five years, he was all-N-B-A. He was all-N-A. First-Ean. First team.
Starting point is 00:34:59 So he was first team, all-N-BA, his first five years, coming in at 24. All right. But you don't got no time to waste. I like that. So at 24, it doesn't matter. The way he's playing,
Starting point is 00:35:11 we know he was an all-N-BIA at 23. We know he was all-N-B-A at 22. We know he was all-N-A-21. He was just in Army. When you 20-1. you can't make no mistakes. You got to be all the U.S. You got to do everything.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Even though everything is new to you. If you're a 23-year-old rookie, you have to come in and establish yourself as a good player. Nobody's drafting a 23-year-old rookie to be their franchise player or the next person that they're going to build a team around.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Just another nigga on the team. So let's go back to Steph real quick. I love how we'll have a conversation by one day. And it'll turn it. Listen, David Robinson, a rookie of the year, 24 and 12, 6 in MVP voting. If you do that, he got to be.
Starting point is 00:35:57 All-in-a, second-team, all-defense, All-Star. So he is the elite already. The only thing that's stopping him was they was in the Army. Yeah. So real quick, the beat, I know you got to take off soon, too, but we will keep the show going. So with his new extension, Steph becomes the first NBA player to amass over $600 million in his career earnings. Let's take a look at the rest of the list out there.
Starting point is 00:36:17 This is some big ballers. Damn. But in the positive. So Steph currently slated to get $652 million. You got Kevin Durant, LeBron, Kauai, Paul George, and B, Donovan Mitchell, and James. Yeah. All members of the 500 million dollar club.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Shout out to ESPN's Bobby Marks for dropping this infographic list. That's crazy. Wait, wait. Big ballers. So you said. So much is that? Let me ask you so. And what?
Starting point is 00:36:39 Let me ask you some, brother. That's the last what? Let me ask you something. I think all times, like it. All time. You see them bottom four? You said, I'm bottom. Would you turn your ring in
Starting point is 00:36:49 to have that money on that bottom? Huh? No, no, no, no, no. We all love the top. You just go buy a ring from somebody in history. Of course we would love the top because they got reek.
Starting point is 00:37:01 We're talking about the bottom. Would you turn that little funky-ass ring you got for that bottom money? No, I'll turn it. No, we all would turn it in for the bottom. We're talking about that bottom money. You got it. Would you take $519 million?
Starting point is 00:37:15 dollars to give back that that ring hey but look though this is all they made in all their career I thought LeBron was made a a billion right LeBron has always sacrificed for his team He always took a pay cut
Starting point is 00:37:29 He always took a pay cut That's bullshit Steph always took a pay cut Currie all I mean Kaui never Kady never No Katie's always took a pay cut Oh has he? Yeah what?
Starting point is 00:37:39 Took him with the Warriors Oh yeah he did he did He did He should have had to be He did He should have my money. Give me my chippers with dippers. Yeah, he should have the most.
Starting point is 00:37:48 I mean, LeBron's had the most. Yeah, the Brons had the most. But what does I say about LeBron sacrificing so much that in year 24, he's made $60 million less that's what I'm saying? And Steph Curry will make by year 20. Four-year head starts, right? You wouldn't have noticed that. Proud of America.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Because he was always up. He was going to wind up making more money than Steph Curry did in his career. Yeah. Obviously, winning all those new crop of guys. Because hell yeah, Doug. He came in. to get 200. He came in older, though.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Watch. He did. You got a thing. Steph signed in two years, 116. Where's that? Where's that? Where's Devin Booker?
Starting point is 00:38:24 I think Devin Booker's the one. Because Devin Booker has to be somewhere under this. Like four, four something. Devin Booker's at 269 right now. It ain't Devin Booker. Somebody. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Wait. We'll project your future career earnings of $520 million by the end of his current max extension. So he'll be at $5. Jason Taylor. There's a statement about 300. No, no. So he'll be at 520. Let me see.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Next year. So he'll be at 520. Club 520. Coming up with another 200. Yeah, that's 7. All these dudes about the past theft. Wait, in 24 years? All these young dudes.
Starting point is 00:39:00 He's not... So D-Books, if he, his extension would be ending 2930 would be the last season in that. What? So the extension would end in 2930 would be the last time? So he'll be 20-200. So he'd be 200. Yeah, so he'd be... 200.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Potent to get another 300 by the time that captain kick in. No, LeBron been in the NBA for 24 years. Jason Tatum, it's Jason Tatum. That's what I say. Jason Tatum is that whoever's younger than Jason Tatum. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. Shout out to Steph. Shout out to Steph.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Shout out to Steve. Big balling. How many years, Stephanie? This is 18. That total puts through your 20. But it's time to try and finesse some bread on Polymarket. This is put that on something. We're going to give you a trade on the Polymarket app.
Starting point is 00:39:44 You got to pick a side and put that on something. So we got what was supposed to be a week three Monday night showdown between the Eagles and Bears at Soldier Field. The game is still happening. Don't do that. But Caleb Williams is out for the Bears while recovering from a hamstring injury. He's suffered Chicago's week two loss to the Vikings. Got shot.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Taze Keenum will get the start at quarterback, 38-year-old playing his first game since 2023. Let me pull this up, Swaggy. Eagles heavy favorites right now. Let me see what the latest projections are. You hooked their ass last year, though. Eagles, traders have the Eagles at 65% to win that game currently. The Bears. It was 35% and it just went up 36% in the last 10 seconds throwing game.
Starting point is 00:40:27 So people still have faith, but do you have faith in your bears? Of course. In one, Case Keenham. He started a game just 2023. Wait, who was that? Case Kenom. Houston Cougar legend. Well, we still got Swift.
Starting point is 00:40:40 We still got, you know, the third. A Dunes Day, you're gonna be all right. You still gonna be all right. So do you believe in these bears tonight? For us. United Night Football, Jayland Hurst, the rest of that crew coming through? Yeah, I already bet on Polly Mark. We don't bet on Polly Mark, and we predict this way.
Starting point is 00:40:55 I mean trade. I already trade. I already trade. I might have to cash out, though, really. You might have to cash out before it starts. I should vote to you BD, BD, looking at this Monday night football game tonight. I know you're a Raiders. It's a Raiders.
Starting point is 00:41:06 It's a Raiders to win. Most. I know you're a fan of 3-0 teams, you know, currently undefeated teams, but just looking at the game. the peasantry of the NFL. But the other one. I believe it's two middlefinger for you, Swaggy. But Eagles, Bears, and now, you think Eagles got this one in the back?
Starting point is 00:41:26 Swagg, we're going to make this something. Man, Raiders, dog. Who cares? I'm cool. I'm cool on Cahler. You're thinking the Raiders. You got the best quarterback in the league, though. BD is.
Starting point is 00:41:36 I'll take, I'll take, what you want? You want, you want, I just, I want to pick Chicago, but I can't rock with the quarterback. with the mustache. Babago. Looking like John Q. Coming on. That was like the ending of John Q. Remember that?
Starting point is 00:41:55 I'm a rock with the Eagles, dog. I'm a rock with the Eagles. Last one, not least, Gilbert J. Arenas. Name's sake of Bill. You got to go. Janet Hertz. You got to go USC, though. I didn't go to USC.
Starting point is 00:42:07 Janet Hertz. That you did. You are now. You got on your license place. Elijah goes there. It's a USC dad on your license place. Elijah goes there. USC dad.
Starting point is 00:42:14 USC dad. No, it doesn't. You know what? You know what? He got the hoodies too. USC dad, hoodies, all that shit. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:42:25 You have the U.S.C. I got a sweater. I got a sweater. USC is so trash, Doug. I'm taking, but I'm taking the fact that she's, I mean, come on. I'm taking Jordan and hurts. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:34 He's like, he's like brunton in the floor. Yeah. He's like Brunton in the floor. They just get that shit done. Get it done. Do not rock with any. Like. You'll see.
Starting point is 00:42:44 And too deep. Well, that was put that on something presented by Polymarket. Download the Polymarket app. Use Code Arena to get $50 in bonus funds when you deposit just $10. Make your next move, your best move. Join the Revolution.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Polymarket, no limits, no house, instant cashouts. The most accurate sports odds and forecasts in the world. BD., I know you might have to take off right now. We all take it off. We all take it off. Yeah, I got the premiere for my movie. Y'all invited. Dang.
Starting point is 00:43:11 I'm in LA Film Festival. So y'all welcome to come. Last shot, wherever. Last shot, the movie, premiere. Premier October 2nd? Go see it, October 2nd, man. Support your boys. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:43:24 You may have me on it? We can still talk to other day. I'm gonna put you in the next. I'm one of your best extras, yeah. I'm gonna put you in the next, hey. Me and Ajan. Hey, this dude is a great actor. And I know, I'm directing Nick in one of my episodes,
Starting point is 00:43:36 we gotta run it back. I got some new ones for you, man. Nick is a great comedic. actor. Well, Bidie, we appreciate you pulling up. Thank you, big time. Good luck in your premiere tonight. Last shot.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Last shot. Last shot. You know, I'm taking it. You know, I'm taking it. My dog. Love, buddy. Already. Man, the whole pack team on his couch.
Starting point is 00:43:55 I just tell about that. Thank you. UCLA. You see LA. That's the most successful one. For college. Right? I went to the championship.
Starting point is 00:44:05 I didn't win, but I got there. I was player a year. Back 10 players. Speaking of last shot, if I'd be the last shot for Jayley, during the Pistons, the contract they'll make between Wurne. Pissons has officially extended into the
Starting point is 00:44:16 season as the all-NBA big man decided to skip media day today. Pistons offered during a five-year $200 million extension, which includes a weight clause similar to what Zion had when he was with the Pelicans. Trajan Langdon was the GM of the Pelicans while that contract was going on. Currently the president
Starting point is 00:44:33 of basketball operations with the Pistons. Dernan's in his reps, weren't feeling all that. And according to Pistons, beat reporter Eric Woodyard, during's reps, made it clear to the Pistons is no longer about the money, but that Duren feels disrespected by the process, particularly compared to how they handled Azore Thompson's extension. It is the principalities, ladies and gentlemen, is principals.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Both sides have until Thursday to get an extension done, or Duren will have to take the one year $9.6 million qualifying offer, become an unrestricted free agent next summer. So Dernan average 20 points in 11 rebounds last season, Pinstants finished with their best record in the past 20 years, but those numbers dropped during the playoffs. he averages 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 14 playoff games. And according to the Athletic, Duren believes he could land a max deal next summer
Starting point is 00:45:16 and make up the money lost next season over the course of the next five years. Gil, you tried to give Jaylen Duren some advice previously. He feels like they have some teams that are on the hook right now that will give him somewhere near a max deal, reportedly to be the Bucks, the Kings. Pissons right now are not interested in a sign-in trade. You got Miles Turner with the Bucks. You got some bonus with the Kings who could be potential targets in those deals.
Starting point is 00:45:38 But what's your reaction to Jaylon? during skipping Pistons Media Day amid his contract dispute. You made yourself the bad guy. Because no matter if you have your money or not, you're going to be on this team this year and the fact that you're not coming to work because you guys haven't figured out the money,
Starting point is 00:46:04 that's not going to sit well with the public. Because no matter what, the qualifying or you sign an extension, you're still part of this team because we can't trade you right now. So you come in the training camp has nothing to do with the business of it. Like you will look like a classier person by still coming to do your duties as a piston. So it makes it easier for them and it makes it an easier target for you to be assassinated of a character coming into the season. Like they're gonna dog you're gonna get dog walk bro
Starting point is 00:46:43 You have Unless you're averaging 28 and fucking 15 Them tens them fives them 5s them You're getting dog walked Right you're like I'm sorry to tell you The difference between you and a SAR Is very different They treated a SAR like that
Starting point is 00:47:03 Because the nigger got the money he got Okay That money he got was the money he got Are you gonna take that money? Because obviously, you got 50 more million to him and you ain't taking that. So I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I don't know, it's the principal now.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Oh, principal. You're playing with my money and my emotions. I'm glad it's about the principal. Everybody don't want to be a slave. You know, everybody doesn't want to be a slave when you take this $9 million. Your ass is going to be a slave when you take this $9 million a year. So what's wrong with standing up for something, though? Like if you feel you got treated away, you put it,
Starting point is 00:47:41 weight claws and my stuff. What's wrong with standing up? How much you weigh? But it don't matter. Are you a professional or not? Are you going to be in shape every year? You didn't even have to worry about the weight claws. Why even put it in there? Did you do it to anybody else? Why are you doing this to me, though? Like, wasn't it because I want to? But that's what I'm saying. You can't just do that to anybody, and then he becomes the
Starting point is 00:48:02 bad guy because you want to treat me a certain way, and I stand up and don't come. So you're saying that you're turning out too, just think about what we're saying. you're turning down 200 million because it says you're supposed to be not you're supposed to average 20 a game just be in shape just just be if you're 275 just be 275 or under
Starting point is 00:48:24 you're saying you're turning down 200 million because I'm telling you to stay in shape it ain't that I got 3% body fat okay then what the fuck is the problem then what's the problem it's been all summer all summer they didn't have this in there before
Starting point is 00:48:39 they've just put it in it They're like, you don't want me. Just say you don't want me at this point. Like, I asked for this. You came with one something, 170 or something like that, 180. Now we get to August or September where we're at. Almost October, Swaggy.
Starting point is 00:48:56 You bumbled up, but now you're playing with my emotion throwing little things in there. Like, why are you messing with me? Just give me the deal I won't. I deserve it. I'm all NBA, 13, 20 points, 10 rebounds. And you turn it down two. million because I'm telling you to stay in shape.
Starting point is 00:49:13 No, you're not telling you. Not be an all-N-B-A player. Not be all-N-A All-Star. You got to tell everybody else to stay in shape. I'm not paying everybody else $200 million. You're paying it close to it? I'm not paying. I don't have to worry about K.E.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Whatever is it. You don't have to worry about me. My body fat less than K. Then what the fuck are you complaining about? Do you got in a K-A contract? Do you got it in a SART contract? Why is it in my? If it's something you...
Starting point is 00:49:35 Why is I got to be the fat and the head? Like, why are you making me look like this? If it's something you do, then why are you do? you worried about it? Why are you even put that out there? Why are you worried about it? Why is it even out here? Are we not understanding what I'm saying? If you are 2% body fat
Starting point is 00:49:50 and you take care of your body and I'm paying you $200 million and you're saying I don't want the $200 million, I'm disrespected, you put a weight clause in there. Did you do it to everybody else? I'm saying if I show up and do my job, that's disrespectful. If you show up and do your job
Starting point is 00:50:08 every day, everybody else don't got it, but they put it in yours. What seems more, what seems harder? Hey, you got to come to practice every day. You got to score 20 and 10 every day for this. They didn't say that. Or stay in shape. They didn't say.
Starting point is 00:50:24 They didn't say that for K? Stay in shape. This is my perspective. Jaylen Duren looks like he's in shape. What the fuck are you complaining about it? That's what you do. Because why are you putting a weight closet in there if I'm already in shape? Because I want to.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Diesel right here, huh? I'm seeing something in your bloodline that could get real dangerous soon. Huh? Because I've never in my life. I'm just be honest. I've never in my life see somebody who's 3, 4% body fat and they care about it.
Starting point is 00:50:48 They must see some cancles in your bloodline and they think you might go off the deep end. Is it? It fits in everybody else is I'm cool with it. But if it isn't just mine, I'm not cool with it.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Oh, hey. Listen, I don't give a fine. Turn down my money off. You won't. I can get your money else. Obviously, you don't want to look stressed right now. No, no. It's good.
Starting point is 00:51:14 One person that don't look stressed is the person who actually can afford giving a motherfucker 200 million. If that was just sign a trade meeting, too. I know, I ain't got to. You know what one thing I got to do? I don't have to sign you. But why do you have to come back in the way? Why don't he have to take that? What?
Starting point is 00:51:30 Mid-level. To qualify. So you guys saw October 1st deadline. I think the pistons can extend that deadline if they wanted to on their side. Yeah, but yeah, October 1st. If they don't get a deal done by October 1st, the long-term extension, qualifying offers on the table, if he signs that, it'll become a free agent next season. So, I see both sides of it because I'm always going to take the bag.
Starting point is 00:51:49 So if I'm done, I've already been to take the bag. You see me at Piss's Media Day doing whatever y' all need it. But from the other side, if I know there's teams out there who are going to give me this bread. But are you give you what bread? There's no team out there. No, they're going to kill it before they give it. Like, they're killing them now because he missed the media day. What I'm saying is there's no team out there that's giving you 285.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Who's telling you this lie? So they're not giving you the bread that you're asking for right now. That doesn't exist. If you go into the free agent, like right now, $200, $200 million, $2 right now. What is that per year? $287. $287. No, no, no, what they're offering him.
Starting point is 00:52:32 $50 million? $40 a year. Huh? $50 million a year? $40 a year. Okay. Five years, $200 million? Now, he's going to free agency.
Starting point is 00:52:39 What's the most thing you can get? I'm looking at. Go on and tell him. number so he so he can understand let me see I was before four-year a hundred and ninety million dollar contract so oh that's more yeah you a little bit more yeah more that's a whoa he don't got that fire year yeah four year yeah one 90 sure true do your things they gonna need you they gotta play Miami remember Miami the best team they need things I think in his mind that four
Starting point is 00:53:13 year one night because I know what you're saying to them money not out, but that four year 190, now if I add another year on that, four years down the road what that cap projection would look like. Of the 190? No, four year 190 is better than five years 200. No, four year 190 right now, today is worth it. Not tomorrow. Because I can tell you right now, you say fuck me?
Starting point is 00:53:36 I don't get it. This is what people don't understand. You say fuck me? What have every team done when the player says, fuck you? He's going to get it. Your ass is going to be right there. Mad complaining. Buffet shit. Buffed in the mother.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Just sitting there just just, no nigga, your back hurt. Shut up. Your back, your hamstring, and they're going to teach your ass like Ben Simmons. Is that a water bottle? That looks like a phone in his pocket. Deferment, huh?
Starting point is 00:54:01 Detriments is the tea. Sit your ass out. I'm suspending you. I'm going to work your ass like no tomorrow. We've been there. We've heard it. When he comes to practice, everything he do, get on the line.
Starting point is 00:54:13 I want him. to say, man, all right. Suspended. My knee hurt. Susp. I'm glad you need hurt. I'm glad you need hurt. Sit your ass there, them stats, all that.
Starting point is 00:54:24 We already know what they're going to do. No, you don't. My knee hurt. Yeah, you need hurt. Cool. You ain't know all... You're messing around. You need me this year.
Starting point is 00:54:33 If you don't need me the most this year. I don't. I need you for the 200 you signed me for. If you're leaving me, I don't need you no more. So I'm not going to... I'm not going to keep your value. up? You're not helping my value you? You're not having them out. Say sorry.
Starting point is 00:54:48 And it'll be over with. They're too big to say sorry. There's ego is too much to say I messed up. My bad. I know one thing. This pink cup, because it's got the water in it. This pink cup is the billionaire. No, this purple cup is the billionaire.
Starting point is 00:55:05 This pink cup is the millionaire. Right? Out of the two, there's one I can say, fuck you. And I know it ain't the pink cup. Okay, I know that the pink cup is that purple cup, right? You need this purple cup to give you some of this water. You see this water? Right, you look thirsty, don't you?
Starting point is 00:55:23 Huh? I can do it right now. I can do it right now. Oh, I can't. Do you want that way close? Oh, no, I can't. No water. You're going to leave over here and they can play here you go.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Yeah, they got to. Uh-huh. Hey, you got to wait. You got to wait 365 days to get that. To know about that. No ankles, no knees, no nothing. You got to, you got to make sure you can get this. The sack every day.
Starting point is 00:55:45 So you run the risk now of losing Jayland Dern for nothing if you're the Pistons. You can do all that on that side if you want. You can try to charge the value of your commodity. But now we get to next summer. If he signs a qualifying offer, I'll see y'all later. You get nothing. I got nothing.
Starting point is 00:56:01 How much money I got love? How much money I got over? Okay, I got some. But who's going to Detroit? Who want to go to Detroit? I got bread. It don't matter. I got money to blow.
Starting point is 00:56:11 I'm getting it. When have they blew it, though? What the last time? I just paid us all how much? I got money to blow. You're about thinking about it. I got money to blow. Think about that.
Starting point is 00:56:22 You paid them 160. You average nine than what? Yes. So I got money to blow. So the guy who the guy who. I wouldn't want to be on that team anyway. Let me, so we can understand human behavior here. I got a man who average nine, right?
Starting point is 00:56:41 He seems like a grateful young. die, right? I gave him $1.60, no problem. Signed it. Charlie. Huh? 155. Huh? 155. No problem. He's grateful. He's happy. Easy. Signed it. Hey,
Starting point is 00:56:55 there you go. He's happy. Thank you. Appreciate it. And then I got one at $200 million. He's basically saying, fuck you. I'm worth more than that. Like, now it becomes the ego of who's... Like, it's me versus you now. Now it's not about anything.
Starting point is 00:57:10 It's not. Now, fuck your numbers. You say, fuck me. Fuck you. numbers. Your 20 and 12 don't mean shit to me no more. What is the white man always? I'm gonna bring this name. I'm gonna turn big rocks. Are you going to turn the big rocks? I'm gonna turn the big muscles into little. Oh, they're gonna be going to see how- they gonna work you. I'm gonna see how strong you all that bitch, motherfucker. Yeah. Yeah, Claude, your ass is good. I don't want to see it do it for. I just some of the strongest, some of the strongest get broken that bitch.
Starting point is 00:57:46 Shit your ass by that gatorade bottle right. That makes your break you. You're handing the niggas water on the sideline? You know what they're going to break you worse than anything? This is what I'm going to do. We're going to go right here. We're going to go to Detroit Pistons. I'm going to tell you what they go do if you don't sign that money.
Starting point is 00:58:01 Who's the other business? Yeah, that's what I'm going to tell you right now. I'm going to tell you. There's a nigger on that teen that's about to get all these minutes. He's going to be happy to sign her, what, 125, 135? I would. They will do it just because whoever the backup is, they're going to give $1.305.140 easy.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Just to say, fuck. Collis? Mm-hmm. John Collis? Is John Collins a free agent? He's under contract, yeah. To win? Let me see.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Mm-hmm. Listen. Oh, they got John Collins? Listen, they're going to pay anybody just to make sense. He's got two more years, so three years total left. So this season and two more seasons. 3.51. Got Duncan Robinson.
Starting point is 00:58:46 That's a good pick up too, though. They have some bread. They got bread. Bread of Cheney, as the kids say. So that's why I said 200 words. If 285 is what he think he should get and they're at 200, they're not even close. They're not even in the same realm.
Starting point is 00:59:02 Which is crazy because they do have some bread. They do have bread to spare. But giving him that bread, obviously. I mean, I just, I just don't understand if Thursday come and the chances of them getting the 2 25, 235, 240 for you to be like, yeah, this is what I'm talking about, that's less than likely. Yeah. So if you're willing to take the $9 million, I hope you looked at Kaminga when he took it. They needed him and what did they say?
Starting point is 00:59:38 I don't give a fuck about that. They said it. They said it to the world. You come off the bench every time he come off 1920 I don't get a fuck about that Nick a dumb Nicker dumb They're gonna say well
Starting point is 00:59:49 They don't care This is a business This business These teams are going to be there When you're dead and gone But he says Boston Celtics All the people up there
Starting point is 00:59:59 I don't know what any of them did Some of them said Fuck you to the West of there Boston Celtics You're still moving with another star But You're going to be a blimp on the team's radar You better
Starting point is 01:00:11 Hey, when you wash up to the shore, there better be some sand in your pocket. He's been wild as 2.0, though, before the treatment like that. Strong, big, sinner. That's what the... But if you think you're just being disrespected with $200 million, hey, I can't tell you. It ain't the $200. It's the claws you put in. I can get fuck about that clause, man.
Starting point is 01:00:34 They can tell my black ass not to eat. Give me the $200 first. Give me $200 first. But they didn't have it in. You take the $200. Take the 200. I'll get a fuck about your weight clause. But you're going to find me $100, $200? $200.000. But that's all he wanted.
Starting point is 01:00:47 And they came up to it and then they add claws into it. Like, come on, man. Unless that weight clause is finding me my whole motherfucker check. Give me my check. I'll worry about that weight shit later. I'll worry about the way. I'll write you a check
Starting point is 01:01:03 for the week. What I'm not going to do. I can't. If people keep throwing in the sard, do a sire feel away in that locker room? I know a sorry, don't give a fuck. Well, there's one person that gets to wake up happy than the motherfucker. That's the SAR. I know somebody who bought a new house, that's the SAR.

Starting point is 01:03:07 Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black. girls. We spent real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and neurological and psychological chaos happening all the same time. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging as
Starting point is 01:03:42 I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then there's fitting in. Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapists Keir Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have more shorts, so you can't do flips, you have on the dress, so you have to cross your legs.

The talent is insane and the personalities are giving main character energy. And of course, the fans love it.
Starting point is 01:05:40 But 30 years ago, when the league first started, it was a different story. I remember sitting with a couple of male writers all whining about, oh, what are they going to do if they break a nail? No one's going to show up. But from the very beginning, there were two teams that captured everyone's attention. The comments were the real deal. I mean, come on.
Starting point is 01:05:59 The Liberty never gave up.
Starting point is 01:06:20 That's all you need to know. I remember looking around thinking, this is going to change things. Basketball was going to have this fundamental impact on the way people viewed women athletes. Starting point is 01:06:56 No, this is about. Stop it, girl. We know what this is about. No, it's not. It's that Orlando nigga that got his girl. It's not the... That Orlando nigga that got his girl. That's a fucking way I can be to Orlando to get that paper.

But shout out to everybody channel. Let me put my reading glasses on, obviously. When Dale got in a nigga, when Dale got his ass.
Starting point is 01:08:01 Fucked up over there. Yeah, enough is enough. They over there just laugh. You're about to be out of leaving. You're about to fuck that. Fuck your money up. We got a question from. I ain't coming back, nigga, if you get $285.
Starting point is 01:08:17 She's with Wendale. We got a question from The Wizard Inn. Said, would y'all trade Dern for a hero, Tyler, and Khalil where? Would you trade Dern for Tyler Hero and Kalil where? No. I mean, he's 22. I don't even know what he is yet.
Starting point is 01:08:40 I mean, I know what he is, but I mean, it's 22. It's 22, yeah. 22? Yeah, I'm gonna keep him. So we got a question from Malik Smith, 2697, said, which is the better story? Six and O in the finals are being responsible for winning a chip with four different teams and two of them never having won one prior
Starting point is 01:08:58 Better story six and no in the finals Or winning a chip with four different teams than two of them never having one one prior I mean perfect is perfect I'm gonna buy Perfect is perfect four different teams that means four different cities celebrate me because I'm gonna shit I get my shit I mean those those is two two days I mean they're two different teams two different flexes, man.

Starting point is 01:09:38 But one in front of the staple next to... One in Cleveland, one in Miami. One in Philly. Not that little one like Ivers. This should be here. All right, last question is from Demons Don't Dance. Demand Don't Dance said, do you respect a man who stays married to one woman for 40 years more than a man who married four different women within 40 years. He said that's the Curry versus LeBron debate.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Okay. I'm going to go because I'm married. I'm going to go to Stefan Curry route. One wife. Forty years. 40 years. 40 years. 40 years.
Starting point is 01:10:22 40 years. 40 of them. You got to go one wife. Because the other one. Now, the other one, I mean, no, no, I'm just saying that being married and you got four different, four different divorces? You can half, half and half? You fucked up. You fucked up.
Starting point is 01:10:34 You fucked up. You're on a corner. Yeah. You're on a corner. You're on a corner. By the time you get the white fault, goddamn, that's a divorce, because you're bringing three divorces back in that. That's all you know. Blue horses.
