Okay, okay. That's a ball bounce off his elbow. Somebody catch it, he might get the... I get it. I get it. That's the risk I got to take.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Offensive rebound, kick that bitch out for a three. Ain't none of them guaranteed. I'm learning that. I've lost thousands of dollars already. But you've won the opportunity to play underdog. The thrill and excitement of the underdog gap. So we asked the chat, are they riding or fading? What's y'all's pick for tonight?
Starting point is 00:05:34 54% of the chat said they are riding with your pick. We was one away the last time. The chat is rolling. Shea wanted to have four assists in the first quarter. Not only was it MLK Day last night, it was the college football national championship game.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Ohio State taking on Notre Dame. So the Ohio State Buckeyes won the national title. Smacked them. We got a little close at the end. They were up 31-7 at one point. Notre Dame came So the Ohio State Buckeyes won the national title. Smacked them. We got a little close at the end. They were up 31-7 at one point. Notre Dame came back, but they did not have God on their side. But LeBron James was in attendance along with a bunch of other celebrities. The Lakers do have a game tonight against the Washington Wizards.
Starting point is 00:06:38 So with or without Bron, they should get that dub. But after the game, scary situation. A person driving a golf cart that had OSU head coach Ryan Day and starting quarterback Will Howard in it took an unexpected bump. Ryan Day, you deserve it, brother. Thank you. Thank you. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:07:00 It's okay. Look who's driving. Look who's driving. Look who just so happened to be driving the ship. We dodged a big bullet. And then she left. Then she left the ship. Left the scene.
Starting point is 00:07:16 It wasn't me. Left the scene of the accident. Didn't run. It wasn't me. So you can see the crash right here. Everyone got out and decided to walk after that We're going okay No, back the item is neat
Starting point is 00:07:31 She's a she she's a she We got two genders around here. Oh So our golf carts actually tough to drive I know you guys like to go off here and there You ever had a situation like that? Mm-mm. Crash and a whip. Austin Powers style? No, I know how to drive.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I've never seen it. We know how to drive. I just thought that was in the movie. I can't really. That's crazy. Usually it's just straight. I don't know how you got it at that angle in the first place, but OK.
Starting point is 00:08:02 You're probably a little nervous. You know it has to be. So you ain't never been in no accident when a woman's driving? When did... Woman's driving... Like, we wrecked trying to park. She was trying to park... All you gotta do is stop.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Oh, got nervous. Got nervous, got nervous. All you gotta do is stop. Apparently a little more difficult. No word on the conditions. I mean, I crashed golf carts before, but that was in college. But I'm sure intentionally, Gil, because as we know, in college you were... Used to be on one. I mean, just think about all the people that was at Arizona,
Starting point is 00:08:42 and we had golf, little golf events. We would take somebody key, take off, right? And we'd sit in there, fly off the hill because you didn't know it was a dip. Yeah, it was. That was the last time we was invited to that golf tournament. I think that first year, my freshman year,
Starting point is 00:09:01 it was like 12 golf carts that were damaged. All from y'all? Some was in the little pond late. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you mean, all from us? Yeah. Allegedly. Allegedly. Statue of limitations, but...
Starting point is 00:09:15 Those were good days, man. Those were the good days. When you have to worry about NILs so you can't take it out our check. Take it out the Pell Grant. You're too good in cases. Just a couple line drills in the morning. That was it. 6 a.m. 6 a.m. That's it.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Shout out to FAFSA and Pell Grant. It was a group thing. It was all of us. Financial aid office was a lot of Hooper's best friends in college. What? Pell Grant? Pell Grant. Pell Grant come through. Pell Grant. It was his high? What was the high? Well, the first check was 700, and the next one was 1875,
Starting point is 00:09:49 so it was $2,500 a quarter. We was on quarters, so... You was on quarters? I think we was on quarters, too. 2,500 quarters, too. So, 2,500 a quarter. Yeah, it's all good. You didn't get nothing, because you couldn't. We had unlimited, though.
Starting point is 00:10:02 We had unlimited cat cars. The cat cart? What the fuck is a cat card? We had the growing card. They put a bunch of food and money on it. It was a private school card. No, we were public school. No, you probably had North Carolina card. What did you go to the food lounge with?
Starting point is 00:10:15 You didn't have a card that they swiped? Yeah, that's the only card we had. We didn't have no other privileges. Oh, yeah, that was our, yeah. Yeah, that didn't run out. It was a student ID. Oh, we had one a day. Oh, no, you spend, you know, you over there regular key,
Starting point is 00:10:26 you know, $20? Hey, man, give me that, give me that. Give me $10, I'll swipe it for you. Yeah. Unlimited? Stand, stand, stand, stand. Yeah, it didn't run out, baby. Stand here to register, appendix, press. Oh, no, you pick your name.
Starting point is 00:10:36 We missed the time, we missed the time for lunch. It was it, you can't eat. Your meal, $10, give me five. If you missed lunch time. Oh, this is for the regular, so we go to a regular student time. Hey, give me that, ha, give me that, ha. Cash transaction missed lunch time, hey. Oh, this is for the regular. So we go to a regular student time. Hey, give me that. Ha.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Give me that. Ha. Cash transaction. Oh, cash transaction. Yeah. You paying $20, give me $10. I'll swipe it for you. Everybody win, Sean.
Starting point is 00:10:55 OK? Had not. We had none of that. I'm limited. Yeah. None of that. Hey, hey, hey. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Uh-huh. That's real tough. But that's why he was going tohuh. That's real tough. But that's why he was going to Arizona. That's why he was going to Arizona. I had five TVs in my car. 20-inch rims. Had a full 412.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Was it a 12? Yeah! All you heard was rattle coming down the street. 412s. Just rattle. Look at the truck. 412s.. Just rap. 412s. Shouting horrible in a car. Oh, you heard.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Oh, yeah. Hopefully watching Ghost Dog, The Way of the Samurai. But there's been a lot of pre-show discussion in the green room about driving in general. Let's bring it to the couch. Kenyon, we'll start with you. Which city has the worst drivers? Los Angeles. L.A.?
Starting point is 00:11:44 What? Because we're not soft here, Kenyon. We drive with heart. I just got... Saturday, my point, got fucking rear-ended in the car by a fucking airport shuttle on Saturday. So this past Saturday, so absolutely here. I have never been to Axe. I've had multiple Axes since I've been here. None my fault, so...
Starting point is 00:12:03 So, Kenyon, we have noticed your emotional duress here, your inability to perform your job functions to the height that they could be, so we need about a million dollars to make that right. Absolutely. We've seen it. We've seen the shift ever since the accident. I ain't been right since.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Yeah, no, I say it all the time. So, this is... So, historically, the left lane is supposed to be what? Turn. On the time. So this is... So historically the left lane is supposed to be what? Turn. On the highway. The fast lane. The Jeff Gordon lane. Supposed to be the fast lane, right? Not out here. Like motherfuckin' trucks, 18 wheelers, box trucks, shit be in the left lane. Like you do that shit in Texas, they pulling you the fuck over. They are pulling you over. Oh, that's our HOV right? No, but y'all know no no no
Starting point is 00:12:49 We're talking about a foreign left lane. They ain't got a HOV on 101 Not they do not so therefore the left lane in any or any highway not does not the HOV lane supposed to be right Not out here Going to bare minimum on the highway. Mm-hmm Right? Not out here. The HIV is going to be for driving fast, too. My fucking feeling is that bitch going the bare minimum on the highway. I ain't saying you got to speed. My fucking feeling is you going under the speed limit and shit in the left lane. Wait, is that like-
Starting point is 00:13:11 But they get mad at you when you flash them a horn. Like, they get mad. Wait, wait, wait. Want to give you the finger, now you got a mother roll rage incident. Well, technically- Technically. They just be feeding into your triggers, boy. No, I- Technically. They just be feeding into your triggers, boy. What the fuck the fuck the fucker?
Starting point is 00:13:25 You don't move out the way. The left lane is supposed to be. No, left lane everywhere. Everywhere left lane. Sportsman like Conor, that's what we supposed to do that. But if the speed limit is 65, God damn it, that's the whole deal. In the driver's license, it asks you. It asks you in the driver's license.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I know it does. On the you in the job is like no it does on the right side What is certain highways may have a sign slower traffic keep right in the right? Yes, going up the hill Lord graphic on the 118 the back side of what a key slower. Yes, it does say that too No, no, no, I get that. I be over 18. Will is in the left lane like no, bro. I get it But let's say I've been the slow lane going to speed limit 65 And you want to go in the left lane? You can't go 75. That's a ticket That's the speed ticket There's a floor traffic no if I know if the speed limit is 65 and I'm going in a slow lane 40, I'm getting a ticket.
Starting point is 00:14:28 So technically... No, get the fuck over. Technically, there's these things that you can't go 10 miles under. They give you a ticket for going too slow. 10 miles over, too fast. The police be trying to get in front of you. There should be like what we're supposed to go on the lane. That's actually what it's supposed
Starting point is 00:14:49 to be. Get the fuck over. Like if the speed limit is 65, that should be the fastest that you can go in that lane. And then 5 miles lower. Flow of traffic. That's what I was always talking about. Get the fuck over, Gilbert. But I'm in whatever lane I'm going and I'm going
Starting point is 00:15:08 You buy a solid line I'm in and out that mother I don't care I know you do that. You know the only the only thing that I have a problem with on the freeway is the bikes Yeah, they shouldn't put motorcycles in the HOV Lane. They that should be over there Because the mop because I like to do this right here, right? They shouldn't put motorcycles in the HOV lane. That should be over there. Yeah, I'm over there. They be moving. Because I like to do this right here, right? And this is the lane they drive in. And it's like, no, yo, you're going to get hit. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Right? And you be coming, and I got to swerve, especially if you got this one. Like, you got this bike right here, and then I got to try to move over, and that's a wall. Wall right there. No, brother. No, brother. I'm already in your lane. Gil drive on the line. Yeah, I'm driving lane. Just... Gil drive on the line. Yeah, I'm driving on the line.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Gil drive on the right line. I'd rather hit a car than that wall. I had one of my partners who worked for me, my assistant. He stayed on the right lines. I used to be in the car like this, dawg. I used to be giving... Be scared of the bushes. Everywhere we go, he stay on the right line.
Starting point is 00:16:01 I used to be like, yo, I... What's up, man? Four, I'm doing four. Grab the wheel. I'm doing four. He end up stay on the right line of ice and be like, yo, I... Pull, I'm doing pull. I'm doing pull. He end up back on the line, I'm like, yo, dude. That's how my daddy be, man. I'm scootin' over, I ain't sittin' by the door. I'm like, this finna be bad.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Passing through the drivers, man. Rashad, do you agree with Kenyon that L.A. has the worst drivers, or does another city take that time? I don't know. New York. Yeah? 100%. New York. Shit. I like the Oh, no, New York Yeah, 100% New York I like the way they drive in New York. Mm-hmm. They get to it. Is that the city of honking? What?
Starting point is 00:16:33 Damn it go fast. Hey, hey, they'll hit your car. Keep going you better Hey, you will hit your car and keep it's like normal shit boom what's up man hey you better anticipate that light turning green 100% Mario Kart Mario Kart up by the gas pedal when that motherfucking turn green
Starting point is 00:16:56 3, 2, 1 because they gonna honk your ass to death for sure New Yorkers need words and that's ticket like excessive honking cuz I got one of those before Right turn shit only light that's the only thing I dislike about New York that no right turn shit. We gotta wait too many pedestrians Yeah, you got to wait for all of them to go. Yeah, you got to wait for 2,000 people to cross. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Cop was in front of me in that light turn green. Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. With the cop in front of you? Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. With the cop in front of you? Fuck you on your phone? Bum, bum, bum. The fuck are you doing?
Starting point is 00:17:40 Like, that's like, no. That's some funny shit. I wouldn't lean on him, but if he took too long, I probably would cry. Like like he just sit there. Hey I might give him a bomb. I gave him 30 seconds. I'm sitting there like wait a minute Everybody you know how like everybody looking like but Bob Fuck it with no cops and then he he gonna roll it got out of the car Pull over he's mad. I'm pulling over for you. My sister. Give me a ticket right here doll. You already
Starting point is 00:18:13 Honking out of police officer probably not a good idea. I would just Shit is hilarious. That's hilarious. That's hilarious. But you can do that. Because he actually had a real reason to do it. That's the phone game. What the fuck is this? What is this? I didn't even know that was a thing. Lean on that motherfucker. Well, another productive day here at Dillard. Presented by Underdog Whoop Whoop. All right, let's get on to some basketball topics.
Starting point is 00:18:40 So Celtics beat the Warriors by 40 points on MLK Day, which we will get to in a second. But let's talk about what happened on the court after the game. We have the video. So Jason Tatum and Steph Curry are sharing a moment with Jalen Brown standing nearby rubbing his beard. Then Steve Kerr strolls over lurking in the background, appearing to wait for Tatum. While Brown glances at Kerr with little reaction, Tatum extends the conversation with Kerr. Sling on it. And Kerr with little reaction, Tatum extends the conversation with Kerr. I'm about to swing on it.
Starting point is 00:19:07 And Kerr eventually walks off. So as you might recall, Kerr was the head coach of Team USA and did not play Tatum in two full games during their path to a gold medal this past summer. You might also recall that Jalen Brown, the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals and NBA Finals MVP, was not one of the three Celtics players selected for the squad, with Derek White getting picked over him as Kawhi Leonard's replacement so Should Jason Tatum always have smoke for Steve Kerr and by extension Jalen Brown as well? Yes For all eternity. Yes in perpetuity. Yes Hey guys, and I'm a big I'm a big believer of forgiveness too with Steve There's one of my shit when his war in this year. Yeah, okay this year Do not like the Steve so it is warranted definitely forgiveness isn't necessary but this situation
Starting point is 00:19:57 I can't explain it you can't there's nothing you say to me That's gonna get me to understand why the fuck you didn't play me and why you didn't pick my teammate You could see the way he was moving. There was nothing Curves uncomfortable. I watched the video about 26 preparation. It looks like Right there right there what the back. What you want, man? Watch it. Right here. Right here. Back, back. Right there. What's up, nigga?
Starting point is 00:20:29 What you want? He looked up and saw him. Hey. He looked up and saw him. Step your heart. His co-workers are coming over here to say what's up. No, hey. Jason Tatum looked up and saw him.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Put his head down. His head down closer to make sure he didn't. But see, that was the soft shit. Daniel Brown's funny as a motherfucker too. Jason Tatum's supposed to make sure they in there. But see, that was the soft shit. Jalen Brown's funniest motherfucker too. You're still with Jason Tatum. What you think you about to do? You're supposed to make him feel more uncomfortable having the conversation with him. Does it bring any joy to your heart
Starting point is 00:20:53 that it happened on MLK Day? No. No, fool. That's progress, Kenyon. Back in the day, a situation could happen if you disrespected a white man like that. What, by not speaking to him? You better acknowledge me!
Starting point is 00:21:08 Now that was a doo-doo. I like that. I will be here always. You almost let us go right there. That was a situation back in the day. It was good. I liked it. 40 pings and you're in your crib. Yeah, I knew that was coming.
Starting point is 00:21:24 We said it. I was looking forward to it. First time they played, it's going to be bad. It's both of us, too. One just got bitched, the other one didn't get picked. You know, it's all... What did Drew and Derek have in that game?
Starting point is 00:21:38 It was a balanced scoring attack, but Derek White had eight points. Drew Holiday had ten points. Yeah. Four rebounds. Take a break. Watch this. Tatum, 22,
Starting point is 00:21:49 nine rebounds, seven assists. Jalen Brown... How many minutes? 28 minutes. Yeah, that's what I mean. They didn't get to play... Trust me. They got to it.
Starting point is 00:21:56 They would've played 42, 43 minutes out there because they had already talked to Coach. I listened, dog. Why didn't they do that? They did the same shit. Bruh.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Why would we do that to them? Bruh. Hey, Coach. Listen, I don't that? They did the same shit. Why would we do that to them? Hey, coach, listen, I don't give a fuck what the score is. We gonna kill them. I'm not coming out of the game. I'm not coming out of the game. The narrative is gonna be, we tried to destroy y'all. We running up the score.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown would have played 40 minutes. They would have scored 200 points. 48 minutes. They would have scored 200 points. 48? As a team. The team would have scored 200 points. So why not leave them in? You know Joe Mazzulla likes to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:22:30 This is not one of them games, man. This ain't one of them games where we play normal. The statement is, just like how at the end of the game, everybody noticed I didn't play, everybody noticed I didn't come out of the game. Yeah, it would have been that case. I'm making up. I'm just going to beat the fuck out of whoever, come on, 48. I'm not coming out of the game. Yeah, it would have been that. I'm making up. I'm just gonna beat the fuck out whoever bring, come on, 48.
Starting point is 00:22:46 I'm not coming out of the game. Screaming after every fucking point. And one! I can play here. Here. I can play here. I don't want to call it with one of my teammates in Denver. Fat fuck didn't play him in the fourth quarter, right?
Starting point is 00:23:03 Mm-hmm. Yes. Fat fuck referring to the coach. Yes, the coach fourth quarter, right? Mm-hmm. Okay. Yes. Fat fuck referring to the... Yes. Okay. Coach. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Absolutely. Just making sure. Mm-hmm. The motherfucker didn't play him in the fourth, so the next day at practice he shot the ball. Every time. The South Five man, though. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Shot the ball every time. Every time he touched it, right? I could play him in the fourth. Mm-hmm. Every time. Yell it out every time. I could play him in the fourth. I could play him in the fourth. Hey.hmm. Every time. Yell it out every time. I can play in the fourth. I can play in the fourth. Hey. Ooh, you want to piss him off.
Starting point is 00:23:27 One, supposed to be swinging. They calling plays out. He mother fucking breaking them. Shoot it. Nothing. Shoot it. Right. I can play in the fourth.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Hey, K-Pod, ain't that right? Shit, we can play in the fourth. Tell it. Tell it. Tell it. Shit, we can play in the fourth. Right. Woo.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Woo. You want to talk about happy? You know me. I'm water fire. Get to it. Fuel. Yeah. I'm happy you know me. I'm What if I can get to it you? I'm light fluid. I'm couldn't tell you tell me for two That's the worst road when somebody the dog house and they throw your ass in there, too Right with it. Oh, nah nigga leave. I know what we talked about on the bitch. Leave me out of this.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Oh, no, my dog, mine was, hey. You coming in here with me, man. Mine was comfortable at that point. He's a road dog in here. Hey, mine was comfortable. I had a typical big dog bed in mine with him. Oh, man, dog house, dog house. I was comfortable in that one with him.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I was back, y'all. I was feet up in that. That motherfucker ain't a place to be, though. No, no. Do not want to. They forget about you in the doghouse. What? It ain't no house no more.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Hey. That's the first century, nigga. It's a bit of a thing. God, look at it. It's a solitary confinement, man. You better pee in there, goddamn it. Can I come out and see the body? The only way you get on this court is if everybody get hurt.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Damn! Am I going to feed me today? That sounds good. It's nothing. It's like prison COVID. The only way you get out is if there's some... They don't even ask you questions in there, boy. You really...
Starting point is 00:24:44 COVID, we got to let 20 people out. Yeah. Not you. Not you. You didn't get bail. Yeah, we gave you a mask, motherfucker. You good. And how did the portly gentleman who was the head coach at the time respond to that situation?
Starting point is 00:24:52 Nothing. Just say shit. Okay. Just ate it. When he left, what'd he do? Yeah, no, he wasn't going to say shit. That shit was listen, man. He just sat over there and ate that shit.
Starting point is 00:25:00 He was like, I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm going to go eat this shit. I'm? Nothing, just say shit. Okay. Just ate it. When he left, what'd he talk about? Yeah, no, he wasn't gonna say shit. That shit was listen, man.
Starting point is 00:25:08 He just sat over there and ate that shit, dog. It wasn't like the motherfucker was saying it quietly. What you gonna say? You gonna kick him out of practice? You got a whole other issue. You got a whole other problem if you try to kick him out. So we asked the chat, should Tatum always have smoke for Kerr
Starting point is 00:25:27 85% of the chat say this is 90 should be 100 some of y'all slacking in the chat. Yeah, not petty enough She's not at all. Yes, Steve getting everything Everything come yeah, I understand. Yeah Yeah, Missoula Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown she had a real conversation breath before that game I listen man. Yeah, I understand. Yeah. Yeah, Missoula, Jason Tatum, and Jalen Brown should have had a real conversation, bro, before that game. Like, listen, man. Yeah. I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:25:49 I get that. We beat them by 40. I want this thing to be the worst. We beat them by 70. And I want this thing to be the worst in NBA history. Yeah, they should have beat the hell out of them boys. I want them to ask questions. Why y'all kept them in the game?
Starting point is 00:26:02 Making up time for them? No, don't ask me that. Go ask Steve Kerr why he didn't play me during the Olympics. Beat him so bad. That's the question. Why he ain't going to make no trade. That's the big dollar question right there. He's not from my Olympics.
Starting point is 00:26:15 And whatever answer he give, that's the reason for today. So we have some sleuths in the chat who I think have figured out the player you're potentially talking about. We're not going to say names to protect the innocent, but... Damn, they quick. They get to it. The name is all over the chat, who I think have figured out the player you're potentially talking about. We're not going to say names to protect the innocent, but... Damn, they get quick. They get to it. The name is all over the chat. They get to it. A tattooed gentleman, perhaps?
Starting point is 00:26:33 No, absolutely wrong. Okay, see? There we go. Chat wrong. We had a lot of... Listen, one thing for sure, too. They had a lot of sinners. Nope.
Starting point is 00:26:40 We had a lot of bigs in Denver. A whole lot. From the day I got there to the day I left, we had a whole lot of fives and four that to the day I left we had a whole Lot of five before name not an overly tattooed gentleman just tattoos perhaps foreign languages. Maybe he don't know The definition of what's on his arm, but nonetheless So we talked about this a little bit during the summertime when it was going down But how would you have handled that Olympic benching if you were Tatum?
Starting point is 00:27:09 You asking me? Shit. Handling like I've been handling it before? I've been a bitch. Me personally, I was happy to get my medal. Number one, I've been a bitch. In real time, you don't want to be a distraction, so you'll eat it. Like, you ain't like, like, you bitching and complaining,
Starting point is 00:27:24 whoever was there with him Go ask them what how he felt them the people need to go talk to that was in Paris with him Guarantee cuz Steve Kerr with all kind of Not pleasant names. I'm pretty sure mm-hmm Watching the game rooting for Serbia see told me I mean, I'm pretty sure. Watching the game, rooting for Serbia. See, told you. I mean, I don't.
Starting point is 00:27:47 No, it's just. If it was, I mean. You're going to eat it, but you don't like it. At his stature, I get it. Yeah. I probably would have played it the same way. Yeah, you would have to. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:59 That's the only thing you can do. You don't want to be a distraction in that moment. Because, you know, you're. The world's watching that. Yeah. And you don't want to be that guy that's getting this um this opportunity you know to have usa on your shirt right oh they're gonna drag usa you get dragged i you know what i mean so there's nothing you can
Starting point is 00:28:16 really do but just besides take it so good you were because you know it's nothing that you did. No. Right? It's nothing that you did. It's just a pre-fixed lineup that has nothing to do with practice, has nothing to do with talent, that they just assumed that this is going to be how we're going to win games. Can I ask a question? But like I said, hold on. Yes, Treshawn. But like we said when it happened, right?
Starting point is 00:28:50 How can you as a coach or coaching staff sit there, come up with a game plan that doesn't include Jason Tatum in it? The person who led the team in scoring the last Olympics. So, right? that's... So, right? That's my... Like, I don't... That's baffling. That's like when Melo was leading the team. I was like, making a game, playing up, and it don't include Carmelo Anthony. Well, I mean, Brandon told me that Steve Kerr was the one that told him that Jason Tatum was soft.
Starting point is 00:29:20 He was who? Mmm. That he was who? Soft. Mmm. Soft? I don't know what they have to do with it. I mean, I'm pretty sure you can name at least five soft ones on there. He was who? Mm. Then he was who? Soft. Mm. Soft? I don't know what they have to do with it. I mean, I'm pretty sure you can name these soft ones on there. What I'm just saying is that he's just saying that. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
Starting point is 00:29:32 He's just saying that that was the reason why he was there. I think Tatum's second leading scorer in that 2020 Olympics. Who, KD was first? KD was first, 21 points a game. But nonetheless, KD averaged 21 points a game. Tatum averaged 15.2 points a game. My question is, though. He's no sixth.
Starting point is 00:29:44 But KD was playing seven more minutes per game. How do You as a player Deal with the trauma of a situation like this me myself have been through this multiple times and being benched or being Kicked off a team or any of that without no real answer... Bro, that leaves you down a rabbit hole you do not come back from.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Trying to find answers of why you didn't do this, why you didn't do that. Think about Isaiah Thomas trying to figure out why he didn't make the USA team all them years to find out that it was Michael Jordan. Traumatizing. Traumatizing. Wait till Jason Tatum finds out why he didn't, you know what I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:30:27 why he didn't play. He ain't found out yet. But that's a bad memory. We probably already know. Do we? We probably already know. Is it enough to have a conversation with dude? Is it enough to have a conversation with dude? So the thing is, there's no, whatever the reason is, whatever the reason is, whether it has something to do with basketball or not, right, it's not valid for what we're here for.
Starting point is 00:30:51 That's what I'm saying. There's no game plan. You can think I'm soft. You can think I'm this. You can think I'm that. I am still coming off an NBA championship. I'm still first team All-NBA. I am still one of the five
Starting point is 00:31:05 best guys in the NBA right now. By that list that just came, we just got done, I'm top five on that list. And you played my teammate that just got here. So there's nothing that you can say to me. Because he's a role player. I can be a role player.
Starting point is 00:31:24 But you know what? I can be a role player. Right. On this group. But you know what? You know what? In this group, we all. I can be a role player. But, but Gil, on that team, we all role players. Technically, yes. On that team, we all role players.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Remember, it's fuck Steve Kerr. Yes. He made a mistake. My coaches made mistakes. Mm-hmm. I held a lot of that shit against them for a long time. It wasn't good karma for me. For Jason Tatum, yeah, man, we can say, man,
Starting point is 00:31:51 we can hold that shit against him, but to be honest, man, for his brand and everything, he need to see that, man, Steve Kerr made a mistake. Don't hold the shit on your heart for something he did. He's going to lose sleep at night. I found a way to kill them coaches who do shit like that is you put it in their face and you show them that It didn't affect you this shit didn't affect me. You can't kill me. You didn't make me you can't kill me So I'm not even looking at you as a threat no more. I want to shake your hand Nancy Lieberman
Starting point is 00:32:19 There was a lot of people who fucked me over That I still look at a smile and shake their hand y'all would never guess these people who fucked me over that I still look at and smile and shake their hand. Y'all would never guess these people would fuck me over. You see them, you be like, damn, y'all cool? Nah, we not, but he... He gotta be cool and become a good person. Nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Be a good person. You still be a good person. Yeah, but you gotta... I'm still a good person, and it still fuck George Carlin. If a motherfucker... But he didn't make no mistakes. That's just who he was.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Like, I'm a great person. But that's who he was. He can still be a great person. But that's who he was. He can still be a great person. But that's who he was, though. That's who he was, though. That's who he was. That you know that to who he is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Jason Tatum don't know dude like that. Dude made a mistake. You know what I'm saying? No, he didn't make a mistake. Yeah. He made a mistake. He wouldn't do it again. He wouldn't do it again.
Starting point is 00:32:59 He wouldn't do it again. But that's, but. If he wouldn't do it again, it was a mistake. Rashad, Rashad. He didn't make no mistake. He made a decision not to play that't do it again, it was a mistake. Rashad, he didn't make no mistake. He made a decision not to play that game. That decision was a mistake. Twice.
Starting point is 00:33:08 You made that decision twice. It was, but you... The first time, it might have been a mistake. You did it again. The first time was an accident. Well, no. Same mistake, accident. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Either way it goes. This is prep meals, man. You double down on it. This is prep meals. They're already coming in there with the... We're struggling. No. We're struggling. No. We're struggling.
Starting point is 00:33:25 No, it's prep. What game did he not play? The first one. The first one. What game did he not play? The first one. It was the fourth game. No, it was the very first game.
Starting point is 00:33:34 First and fourth? No, you're talking about the real, the actual real. The real game. You're talking about before. He was playing before that. He was playing. He was playing. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Then we get the pairs. So those games leading up to the first game, the last game they played was South Sudan. They struggled. The whole team did. Yeah, they struggled. So why do I get benched, though? That was the whole thing for Steve. I'm not taking up for Steve.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Nah, you just made a mistake. He made a mistake. No. Remember the mistake he made with Ant Edwards? What was the mistake he made with Ant? What was the mistake he made with Ant? He tried no mistake. What was the mistake he made with Ann? You were pre-planning it. He tried to bring Ann off the bench. That's a decision.
Starting point is 00:34:09 It was a mistake. No, that's a decision. Because he didn't go through with it. He didn't go through with it. What I'm saying is if I'm purposely doing something, that's not a mistake. You made a mistake, bro. A mistake is if I'm walking and I step on your foot.
Starting point is 00:34:22 That's a mistake. If I look down at your shoes and this is new shoes and I scarf it, that's a decision. That's an accident. I accidentally stepped on your foot. I accident. He's making a decision. He's looking and we're going to say, all right, we're going to play this, this, this. We're going to sub it here, here, here.
Starting point is 00:34:37 They all agreed. This is how we're going to play. This is a mistake, Gilbert. I'm fixing this. I'm fixing this boat, right? But I put it on the wrong way. That's a mistake. Yeah, that's a mistake. That's a mistake Gilbert. I'm fixing this. I'm fixing this boat, right? But I put it on the wrong way. That's a mistake. That's a mistake. That's a mistake. That's a mistake. That's not an accident, right? I made a mistake. So I can undo this. Yeah, so what you said, undo that though. You didn't do that.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Listen, listen. You said man, I don't know what I'm saying. I can undo this. Yes. Put it back right. Yes. And then what can we do with it? We can use it the right way now. Yeah. What making it right is with Steve Kerr and Jason Tatum is letting the world know. Well, guess what? No coach can make this decision again or mistake again.
Starting point is 00:35:18 Guess what? Because this guy in this situation was a moment for this guy. Sure. He didn't get to have this moment. Yes. Because I. Have you noticed we both said that's a mistake? Because I made a mistake. Yes. We didn't get to have this moment. Because I made a mistake. We're both saying that's a mistake.
Starting point is 00:35:30 And guess what? That motherfucking Trey ain't got feelings. What does that have to do with being able to change your mistake? Because you can't undo it. Because you can't undo it. But we can change the future. We cannot make the same mistake. You did the future. We cannot make the same mistake. You did it again.
Starting point is 00:35:46 We cannot make the same mistake. Twice. After this. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. The saying is you're not supposed to make the same mistake twice. But we did. But we did. So it's not a mistake anymore.
Starting point is 00:35:57 But it is. No. Because we won't make this mistake again. It's a decision. Both of those mistakes happened in the same occurrence, right? It didn't happen in one four year. It happened in the same week. Two of the same mistakes happened in the same week.
Starting point is 00:36:12 We're not going to do that again. Matter of fact, USA not going to allow him to make the mistake again. You made a big mistake. A mistake is what you said, right? What if I know this is the screw there? What if I know this is the screw and? What if I know this is the screw and I don't want to use it? That's not a mistake.
Starting point is 00:36:29 Yes, it is. That's a decision. Once you do make this decision, Gilbert, listen, and then you see that it's wobbling. You see, you were stubborn enough to say, yeah, I still want to make it work. Look, it's still wobbling. Ah, you know what?
Starting point is 00:36:43 That's not a mistake. A mistake is accidental. Like you read the instructions wrong and we did it and then you get the undo it. If I know this is the screw there and I'm deciding not to put that screw there, that is a decision. Oh, it's going to work without this screw. Yeah. If it wibbles and wobbles and I fix it, I fix it.
Starting point is 00:37:08 But I decided not to put it in there. That's not a mistake. That's an actual decision. I'm deciding not to put it there. I think I don't need this. I think it's fine
Starting point is 00:37:18 the way it is. If it fucking falls... You think that's how he played it? That's how he played it? Yes. That's how he played it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:24 He did it again. They how he played? Yes. Yes They knew what they were doing. He didn't do it. What he was flying. They knew what they were playing again DMPs against Serbia both games. I know I know my time. What did he say? What do you live in opener in the same line? Please there's a quote out there. Let's look it up. Hold on. Ooh, I forgot he was on it Oh, we decided to do it. We decided we were gonna Whatever it was. Hold on. Ooh, I forgot it was on there. Ooh, we decided, didn't we? We decided we were going to. I'm saying, whatever it was, though, like, because there's a quote, because I'm pretty sure it has. Like, why would the guys that made first team all day don't play?
Starting point is 00:37:57 It was like, KD didn't, like, what the fuck does he mean KD? He said Tatum didn't play because Durant was healthy, but added he felt like an idiot for not playing the Boston. Mistake, bro. Thank you very much. What did he say? Because KD felt like an idiot. Hold on the Boston must stay bro thank you very much did that because I don't like it hold on hold on that's okay that's my point no no no Tatum their play cuz Durant was healthy but he added he felt like an idiot for not playing the Boston store laughter so what he reason for the second time not playing so he said
Starting point is 00:38:20 because of the rain was healthy I feel I didn't need him so I'm not playing didn't say that that's what he's saying hey what he said that Kevin Durant is healthy, I feel like I didn't need him. So I'm not playing. He didn't say that. That's what he's saying. That ain't what he said. That is what he's saying. Say it again what he said. Stop it right there after KD. Let me pull the foreclose. Let me pull the foreclose.
Starting point is 00:38:32 You just put words in his mouth. That's his words. Because KD was healthy. What does that mean? Don't say what it means. I said what did he say. Don't interpret what it means, Gilbert. What does it mean?
Starting point is 00:38:44 If KD is healthy, what does that mean if I'm decided? He didn't say if. He said KD is healthy. What the fuck does KD have to do with him then? KD's going to play over you, Jason. Say it. Okay. Because KD's a better player.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Because KD is playing, I'm deciding not to play him. And also, in regards to his rotation patterns, he said, I felt like last night those were the combinations that made the most sense. So those combinations did not include Jason Tatum. What did he say before?
Starting point is 00:39:11 Say the combinations of what? No, no, no, no. The combinations of what? They had their own combinations? The players. The players' combinations that they decided that was part of the rotation.
Starting point is 00:39:21 He said, I feel like an idiot. That's after the fact. Yes. That is after. I felt like an idiot. When I realized I didn't do it, that's after. I feel like an idiot. That's after the fact. Yes. That is after. When I realized I didn't do it, that's after. Can you keep interrupting the quote so we can hear it? That is after.
Starting point is 00:39:32 I get it. I heard you. But let him say it. I just want to hear him say it. I just want to hear him say it. Hold on one second. That's all. I just want to hear him say it.
Starting point is 00:39:37 Felt like an idiot for not playing. So what do you think? Before that, Tatum didn't play because Durant was healthy. So Durant is playing. This is my lineups. So he made a decision. After the game is over, damn. But you felt like an idiot.
Starting point is 00:39:52 I felt like an idiot. What's that called? I made a fucking decision. No, I made a decision. Which was a mistake. And you didn't win. Yeah, no, yes. It was a mistake.
Starting point is 00:40:00 We found that out. Okay, Rashad. Okay, I agree with you. Listen, okay, cool. I agree with you. The first time, right? The situation we speak. No, no, okay. I agree with her cool. Yes. Okay cool Right I'm gonna tell you how he's using. I agree with you, right? Him I agree with you. He made a mistake The first time he made a mistake
Starting point is 00:40:22 So what about the next time you don't play? What is that then? He's soft. Who? Who's soft? The guy you asking about. Who? Who you asking about?
Starting point is 00:40:43 You asking about Jason Tatum, right? Yeah, but so why don't... That was his reason. But... Listen, he's using it like this. Because he didn't play this guy, that was just a mistake, right? Oh, I get that. So that's like, I'm deciding to rob a bank.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I got caught. That was a stupid mistake. That's how he's using this. No, I'm not. Because he played after he did play the first game, right? He played a couple games. Didn't play against Serbia both times. We're talking about this game.
Starting point is 00:41:13 You're saying it was a mistake. What was the mistake of it? I'm giving you that. He said the mistake. What was the mistake? I felt like an idiot because I didn't play him. That's the mistake. He's not saying he made a mistake.
Starting point is 00:41:22 I made a mistake because I got caught robbing this bank, but I already decided. See, if nobody would have said nothing, there's no mistake. See, if I don't get caught. What do you mean if nobody says? If nobody asks him a question, there's no mistake. If I don't get caught robbing the bank, I don't have regret of the mistake. It was a great plan. This plan we it was a great plan this plan we had was a great plan that's my decision so why so is it a mistake or not no no for us because he's a
Starting point is 00:41:55 five-time but whatever he is so yeah you benching him that's a mistake in your part for argument's sake i'm saying yes he made a mistake as a decision for what to agree with you he made a mistake, right? It started off as a decision. For what it's worth... To agree with you, he made a mistake the first time, right? So what is your reasoning for doubling down on that? I don't like the way you play. But you've been playing me, though. Yeah, I tried you out for three games, and I'm like, yeah, for this game, for us to take it all the way over,
Starting point is 00:42:21 we're gonna play these guys. So the Olympic opener against Serbia, first game of group play, semifinal against Serbia. Obviously that close game we were watching here in the arena. Did not play either of those games. I bring a gun to the locker room. Decision.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Yes, yes. Mistake. But that was a mistake. Mistake. Because your decision to bring the guns was not malicious. But it's a decision. It was you were playing around, you went too far guns was not malicious. But it's a decision. It was you were playing around. You went too far like you always do.
Starting point is 00:42:48 But it's a decision. It was a mistake. Yeah, it became a mistake. That's what- That's how I- I know that's how you're using it. Damn, I just said that. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:58 How long we been talking about this? How long have I been saying this is a mistake? How long you niggas been going against me? But you're- The whole time I've been saying the same words using the same terminology. No, you niggas been going against me, but but you're the whole time No using the same terminology No, you're not Fuck Steve Kerr, but he made a mistake. You're not using the term, right? You're saying no you don't want no You don't want it the way I'm giving. No, you said he screwed it in Said it the way I said he made a mistake by screwing it in. No.
Starting point is 00:43:25 He made a mistake. The mistake comes after your decision. The mistake is there regardless. It don't matter if it's a decision or not. Why do you think I explained it that way? Because I hear how he's using it. That's why I explained it. Neither here nor there, but we asked the chat, is it obvious?
Starting point is 00:43:38 78% said yes. Why you ain't let them see what shirt you had on? What? You're supposed to let them see the real shirt. See, you ain't really marketing. He ain't trying to give me no sales. I got man? You're supposed to let them see the real shirt. See, you ain't really marketing. Shout out to Belifton. He ain't trying to give me no sales. I got man movies.
Starting point is 00:43:48 I got to cover them up with sweatshirts. See, we was going to make a shirt for this nigga. You know what I'm saying? I got to is it out here, too. I pull it up. I pull it up right here. There you go, Steve. Promotion.
Starting point is 00:43:56 I support. I support here on the couch. He does. He really does. That's my guy. Shout out to the greatness shop. Always sends the merch on time. Let's get it.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Hey, like the old say, fool me once, shame on you. I say this, fuck Steve Kerr. Fool me twice. I say use it as fuel. Shame on you. Now, we talked about, we went back down memory lane. Let's talk about MLK Day. So as for the game, Celtics got back on track,
Starting point is 00:44:20 beat the short staff Warriors by 40 points. Steph Curry had 18 points, but no other Warriors starter scored in double figures. Bothaminga and draymond green sideline 40 point blowout was the warriors biggest loss since 2018 so with more than half their games played golden state is at 500 they would not even qualify for the playing tournament if it started today they are 11th in the west uh beautiful to see but are the Warriors destined to be a hot pack of mid this year? 21 and 21 right now, 11th in the West. I thought they'd been a hot pack of mid.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Is that their destiny? Will they be able to change it? They're only stealing a couple games out. You know, the Western Conference as it stands right now. What do we have in the map? What, 9, 10, 11? So they are currently, like I said, 21 and 21. They are two games behind the Lakers for the sixth seed. Three games behind the Clippers for the fifth seed. So they're gonna finish with 9, 10, 11?
Starting point is 00:45:16 Y'all gonna be in the playing game. Who? The Warriors? Warriors and Lakers. Y'all gonna be in the playing game. Stopped it out of the way. Who, us? No. Yes. Kane, we are the sixth seed in the play-in again. Stopped it out. Who, us? No. Yes. Okay, we are the sixth seed in Adam Silver's Western Conference. Right now?
Starting point is 00:45:28 We're not even gonna touch the play-in. Man, we ain't worried about the play-in, man. We 2-0. We looking ahead to the end of the season. We 2-0. Third seed. Then what do y'all get for y'all reward for being 2-0 in play-in? Same thing we would've did if there was no play-in. Seven seed. Y'all better hope. The seven seed. Y'all better hope that one team. Two-time play-in champion. Y'all better hope that one team finish with a different spot.
Starting point is 00:45:55 Thankfully, they are currently. What spot they in? They're in the fourth. Lakers are terrible, man. Right? Oh, yeah, we're going to play Memphis. That's easy work, man. Shit, they can get the three. Huh? Then we get three, y'all six.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Oh, then we get the three, we going five. Then we go three, we go five. They don't got KCB no more. Y'all scared of that? I'm scared of that. Oh, yeah, okay, just say it. We're talking about the ghost era. Just say y'all scared of that. Hey, the boogeyman.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Yes. Burping babies. Yes. Burping babies. Yes. No, like, Burping babies. No Lakers discussion. And they got Westbrook over there now too.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Yeah. We got revenge all over. We want that energy. No, no, we want that energy over here. No Lakers discussion today. We are talking about the Golden State Warriors of San Francisco. You got off to a hot start. I really thought the way they started the season, I didn't say they was going to win the West or they was going to do no, like,
Starting point is 00:46:47 the way they started it, they was all healthy. They came back with a better roster than they've had as of late. I thought they would do better than they have been because of how they started. So, yeah, it's going to be this. They're going to be this. They going 500 basketball for the rest of the way. Worse than that. Unless they make a trade. Unless they do some things before the trade deadline
Starting point is 00:47:20 to get some more pieces in, and not just one piece. Yeah. Like you need multiple pieces. They don't want to mortgage the current squad to mess up their future. to trade their line and get some more pieces in, and not just one piece. Yeah. Like you need multiple pieces. They don't want to mortgage the current squad to mess up their future, or we've talked at length about making some moves. They did get Schroeder, obviously trading Melody.
Starting point is 00:47:34 But my thing is, why you not trying to win now with Steph? Yeah, that energy is nasty. Right? That's nasty. Like why you not trying to win now? It's weird, because then you get blew out by 40, and you look like you need to make some moves regardless
Starting point is 00:47:47 of what Steph Curry feels or not. Like what game was this for them on their road trip? For the Celtics? Yeah. Let me pull it up. No, um. It was a home game. Oh, it was a home game.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Yeah, they got, they got blew out of home. At the Crip. Never mind, never mind, never mind, never mind, never mind, never mind. Do you start looking at moving Steve Kerr? Trading me and Zed? at the crib. Do you start looking at moving Steve Kerr? Trading Miz Z. I'm just saying, man. Do you start looking at an option?
Starting point is 00:48:09 Like, that's not working. That offense not working. And they... The dude Pascal, Eric Pascal, just said, playing with Steph is difficult
Starting point is 00:48:17 because the system don't adjust to nobody else. So if you got game in any other position, you got to sacrifice sitting in the corner, watching him come off screens, nobody getting the screen, none of that. So it's like he thinking like he going to progress like Kaminga was progressing and
Starting point is 00:48:32 he's like, nah, they don't let you progress over there. I'm glad you said that. And you know what? Just like anything else, people figure it out. Yeah. Regular people or the team? No, no. Like the players?
Starting point is 00:48:43 No, like with teams, like you keep running shit over time, people figure it out. Yeah, yeah. Right? People figure out how to guard it. People figure out how to limit what y'all did great because you don't have that other guy anymore. Right? So I think that's more of what it is now. The league has figured out how to guard them because they don't have another guy, right? They made it easier for the league. Because they don't have the... Right. When Klay out there, you got to guard him differently.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Yeah, yeah. Knock down, shoot him. Knock down. So you... When Klay shoots, you think it's going in. Like, only for where he's shooting from, you think it's going in and everything, so... So Buddy Hill must not be
Starting point is 00:49:25 playing very well it doesn't matter it does matter it does but it makes you it make it make sense but in acting people don't fear him like they fear clay is what I'm saying he too streaky so you got a girl so I saw this so I don't know who the coach was I saw it recently is whenever winning he said yeah so when buddy was with sack they had a thing it told him don't dribble the coach was. I saw it recently. It was when they were winning. They said they had a, so when Buddy was with Sack, they had a thing. They told him don't dribble. He shot like 70% on catch and shoot.
Starting point is 00:49:51 It was like 29 on one dribble. Like if he dribbled the ball, it went like, it was like something crazy. It got worse? Way worse. You said this was a who? I forget who,
Starting point is 00:49:59 I forget who said it. It was like, I remember that. It was recent too. Yeah, I remember that. Like he told like just catch and shoot because if he Like, he told, like, just catch and shoot. Because if he dribbled it,
Starting point is 00:50:07 his percentage just, like, weighed down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rashard Lewis was like that. So, yeah, like, I just think he's not, like... If you look at threes made over the last, like, five, six years, he's right up there. But I just... The fear of Klay Thompson getting hot,
Starting point is 00:50:26 you play, you guard him different than you guard Buddy Hill. Facts. Yeah, I mean, shit, he was averaging 25 in October. I mean, 21 in October. Yeah, that was Buddy? Yeah. He played well in October. He shot the ball well off the bench.
Starting point is 00:50:39 That was when they was winning, right? Yep. Yeah, he came off the bench, shot the ball well. I'm pretty sure that was a problem. So their excuse is, Prozinski's down. Who? Prozinski.
Starting point is 00:50:52 Prozinski. Who was the other dude? Well, Kaminga's hurt. That's right now. He's just... Somebody else. Draymond was down. Draymond, yeah, Draymond
Starting point is 00:51:00 suffered an injury against the Wizards. He's going to miss a week, a week and a half. The overall team that you, it's like, you don't. And this is where Draymond not being a scorer hurts you. Absolutely. Right? What's their starting lineup?
Starting point is 00:51:30 It fluctuates from game to game. They use a lot of different lineups. They use a lot of different lineups. They use like 23, 24 different lineups. Yeah, so. Wiggins, Moody. No. Yeah, so.
Starting point is 00:51:39 I think so. Yeah, it's not consistent. It's not consistent. Let me, let me. It's Schroeder Yeah, trying to figure that out. Yeah, good luck trying to figure it out GP Oh T Jackson, okay T Jackson green Wiggins curry and then shooter now who was green
Starting point is 00:52:02 Trey mine Steph, Schroeder, right? Why not have Buddy Hill? Because you want Steph off the ball. But still, you got Draymond out there, right? So you got rid of Clay to bring in a guy who can possibly shoot decent, to bring him off the bench can possibly shoot decent. Mm-hmm To bring them off the bench to put a point guard in. Yeah. Yeah one so it is supposed to be then it's supposed to be
Starting point is 00:52:39 Curry now and Curry supposed to be clay now wig is supposed to be to that Wiggins. Well, then who's gonna be Wiggins? Draymond, who's gonna be Draymond the big? Like it's easier to keep everybody in place and say, all right, this is what Klay did. We bring in Wiggins. I mean, we bring in... Hill. Buddy Hill. And he might not average 21, but if he averages 17, everybody else can just still be them and do a little bit better.
Starting point is 00:52:59 But once you start replacing everybody, it becomes worse. Yeah, he hasn't had a consistent lineup to stick with because of injuries and other things, trying different shit, brainstorming at night, staying up fucking late, can't sleep, all that shit, and you like, damn, what the... Just keep your normal starting five and put... So is that normal championship starting five with Steph at the point? Yeah. Yeah, so they changed all of that.
Starting point is 00:53:24 Yeah, because... Changed all of that. Because Draymond is the point. Yeah. Yeah, so they changed all of that. Yeah, because... They changed all of that. Because Draymond is the point. Yeah. Right? And Klay... Bringing Schroeder in, bringing Pajinski in,
Starting point is 00:53:32 fucked up the whole formula that they had. Pajinski wouldn't be playing for me. Right. So Buddy Hill's supposed to be at the two. It's supposed to be Steph, Buddy, Wiggins, Dray, and Zach. And let Dennis Schroeder come off the bench doing Barbosa type of stuff.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Him, Gary Payton. Gary Payton, yeah. Then presents. Kaminga. But that would be my off the bench. Kaminga would be the score. Kaminga the athlete. Looney's off the bench too. Looney's off the bench too.
Starting point is 00:53:54 Yeah. At this point, I would put maybe Wiggins off the bench and put Kaminga in. Put Kaminga in. Yeah. See, yeah. So after the game, Steph was asked about the Warriors' struggles, particularly in that game set. A big part of our season has been when we can't score, we lose spirit, we lose life, we lose competitiveness.
Starting point is 00:54:12 So Warriors started season 12 and 3, went 9 and 18. And what appears to be a trend towards another wasted season for Steph Curry, did not make the playoffs last year. 11-C right now. It happens, Jermaine. Hmm? It happens. It happens, but...
Starting point is 00:54:29 No one cares. If you Steph... That's his plan. I'm just saying. At what point... Didn't happen to Tim Duncan. At what point did... Yeah, didn't happen to Tim.
Starting point is 00:54:37 This keeps happening. It's happening because you made mistakes inside the circle. Inside the circle. What y'all talk about yesterday. That punch heard around the world. Fucked everything up. Don't worry, they'll do it. They'll do what every other team did. Either you're gonna retire or we're gonna trade y'all asses.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Yeah. Somebody who's desperate for some ticket sales. Facts. Charlotte. They did it to KG Paul. KG Paul, Pierce, Dwyane Wade. Y'all want him, Brooke? Paul, Pierce, Dwyane Wade.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Y'all want him? Here y'all go. Shit, we don't need him no more. Offload. Take my ass to Brooke. You think that includes you? Ew. Y'all want him, bro? Y'all want him? Here y'all go. Shit, we don't need no more. Offload. Now that's the Brooklyn. Yeah. You think that ain't fun?
Starting point is 00:55:07 Ew. Draymond and Steph, hey, hey, y'all. Y'all ready? Y'all ready? Where y'all want to go? Yeah, go ahead. We'll see y'all together. You can see a world with Steph.
Starting point is 00:55:16 You want to stay home? We'll see you in Sacramento. Where you want to go, Dray? Go to Sacramento. Just run up there a couple times. Draymond, you want to go to Michigan? You want to go to LA? You want to go to LA?
Starting point is 00:55:23 Dray, you want to go to LA? Go to Charlotte? What you want? go to Michigan? You want to go to L.A.? You want to go to L.A.? You want to go to L.A.? You want to go to Charlotte? What you want? So do you see a world where Steph says, I'm cool with that, Traymond? They sent Tony Parker to Charlotte. If they go against what he's saying, I think he would. If they decide to make a move for now, and he's saying don't, if they do make the move
Starting point is 00:55:41 for now, I think that's him saying, all right, man man Y'all can go ahead and make a move for me, too And I think Mike Dunn leave you looking at his face last night When it's that look up He's got what two more years on the dog because I mean no matter what either they're gonna treat him They're gonna play at some point or you're gonna play the two years and we're tired And then I think you'll play the two me if he wants to play more It's his option now. And he might just sign.
Starting point is 00:56:08 So Steph signed through the 26-27 season. So two more seasons after this one. Yeah, he got it. He'll be making $63 million that final season. And it'll be that Tony Parker move where he'll be like, I don't like you in that jersey. You know what I mean? Just because he's still got a little bit more
Starting point is 00:56:25 tank, you know, a little gas in the tank. So we talk all the time about loyalty. Obviously, Steph, one of the few guys playing with the same team for his entire career. You can see that shifting if they don't make a move now. Or are they just bullshitting right now saying, we're not going to make a move, we're not going to mortgage the future
Starting point is 00:56:40 while they're working the phones trying to get something. Your player is too good still he's too good still to let somebody else come in and dominate by the time he realizes that he needs to be an option too it's too late but he needs some help though who's he gonna be an option to to though with that roster? Not that roster. I'm talking about bringing somebody in. There's no... Don't expect nobody
Starting point is 00:57:09 on that. Only way... You team him up again with KD, you team him up with Nikola or somebody like that. Other than that,
Starting point is 00:57:21 it don't... Unless you can pull KD back. Yeah, somebody that take the pressure off of him. All right? Man, listen. I'm just...
Starting point is 00:57:29 Yeah, that's the only way you need. You need one of them. The only way it can be. You need somebody. And that still might not be enough. Not right now? Listen, man. One of the things that's going to solidify Steph
Starting point is 00:57:37 to be in that top four conversation is if he stay with the Warriors. It's a top four conversation. Even Brian and Mike not even in them conversations. They changed teams. There's only a select few people in that lineage. People trying not to lead
Starting point is 00:57:52 their team and stay the whole, stay the whole way. It's an opportunity for him, but I think, like I said, he's showing them that if y'all don't do it
Starting point is 00:57:59 like I want y'all to do it, it's going to be Hakeem Olajuwon and that Toronto Raptors. And that Toronto Raptors. Nasty work, boy. Ooh. Not like that. Ooh. Don't do that. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:58:14 Pat Ewan and that motherfucker in Orlando Magic. Orlando Pat? Ooh. Why would y'all do that to Pat? Why would y'all do that to Pat, man? Damn. Because what happens is, when he's up, let's say he's up in two years and he's still averaging
Starting point is 00:58:26 about 20. Which he would. Easy. You even blink at paying him, you're done. They gotta pay. 63 million is last year. They gotta start playing different too if they want him to play. I think he could probably get an extension next season too.
Starting point is 00:58:42 That's what I'm saying. All of that fucks them You extend them with no plan of whatever you're gonna do. Yeah, sign them back to the 40 million 50 million, right? You see you fucked Right, it's it's you hope it is one of those you hope he retires or say Say, let me go somewhere else. Hey, man What you thinking about doing we retire you know, I mean start hitting that the motherfucker like yeah
Starting point is 00:59:12 You know be thinking about doing like a ceremony for you when you retire, you know That's what they had to do that with cold. Let him know. Hey, we gotta get rid of you You got to step down homie You know who you got to step to cake kick we can't pay you because I know, hey, we got to get rid of you. You got to step down, homie. You got to step down. We can't pay you this. Because I know if we decide not to pay you, the fans is going to be mad for a couple years. 100%.
Starting point is 00:59:32 So, you know, you sit here like, yeah, you know, four more years, you're like, oh, come on, y'all. Fire me now, man. Shit. Some of us have been praying on the words down. But not not like this because this one of them situations if it's on the table brothers He's gonna entertain it he's one of those players where you just can't trade without losing your fan base Yeah, I'm bad. People enjoy that. Yeah. No not right now
Starting point is 00:59:59 Even though they lose anything don't matter ain't like four seasons and a row. They get to still see him. Yeah, it's two in a row. Two pushing on three. They get to still see him. They get to still see him. And he's still doing shit to make you want to come see him. He's like, oh, shit. He's doing shit. It has to be a Klay situation.
Starting point is 01:00:14 That last game, 0 for 12 or some shit like that, and you can run your narrative, even though he averaged fucking 18. You can run your narrative how horrible he is and washed washed and then you can try to offload like that. Hey, Dallas, hey Dallas, we'll give you Kaminga for Clay. Back? Give us a homie back. All right, well let's keep this thing moving. Today's pot- We made a mistake.
Starting point is 01:00:37 We made a mistake. Yes. We made a mistake. Steve, we made a fucking mistake. It was a decision. It was. It was. It was a bad decision. We call it a mistake. Steve, we made a fucking mistake. It was. It was.
Starting point is 01:00:46 It was a bad decision. We call it a mistake. And that's what we call a horrible fucking mistake. It was stupid. So today's podcast. You feel like an idiot once again. Now before we move on, we asked the chat, are Warriors destined to be mid

Starting point is 01:02:07 Yeah, I stay ready just in case, you know? You got to get ready. Uh-huh. Just in case I go out there and see something and make a mistake. Hey, Rose Sparks did it, man. That wasn't me. I can't control what he's just attracted to. Maybe it wasn't me.
Starting point is 01:02:30 It wasn't me. Ladies and gentlemen, rose.co. FlashGill, $50. Let's get moving. Get off of that topic, huh, Steve? No, that's not right. It went in the back. It went in the back. Hey, y'all to it. Get off of that topic, huh, Steve? Know where that came from. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It went in the back.
Starting point is 01:02:46 Know where that came from. It went in the back. Hey, y'all put it in there. I don't. I merely hope. So. Whoa, damn, Steve. Okay, Steve.
Starting point is 01:02:57 I don't know where y'all found out, and dude, like, dudes in the league was cheating. Like, popping blues and yellows and blues like early. I was like, yo, you do like, really? When I found out, I was- Yellows and blues. You wasn't doing it? No, not at, not, nah.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Oh, you was faithful. No, it was- You was faithful. No, it was other- You was faithful. Shit. Drinking. Drinking.
Starting point is 01:03:21 What? Yeah, it's a drink to get it, to drink it, right? No, what is wrong with you? Yellows and blues? I didn't find that out until it was like 2009, 10. I found out dudes was cheating, stacking the deck. No, no, no. See, no, no, no. I can't say that.
Starting point is 01:03:35 So when you go on the road, right, it's just the Hennessy. It's just the Hennessy and the new girl. Patron Red Bull. You popping it when you come back home because it's your wife and girlfriend. Yeah, you got to pretend that you excited, right? Right.
Starting point is 01:03:52 So you got to pop it on the plane, right? Then you get home. Oh, I miss you so much. Look at that. Oh, already. Already. All right. You know, you've been there.
Starting point is 01:04:04 When you get home, she all in a lingerie. You can't get it up. You're like, ah, man, what you been doing on the road? Back to back the bar to protect our interests. It's kind of empty down here, baby. It's empty. Why is it empty down here? We got an important conversation.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Walking in the house is strong. Thinking about you on the bus. I ain't never had that. We just had seven games, ten days. Caught a Charlie Haas on the plane. Don, oh, oh. Thinking about you on the bus. I ain't never had that. Ah, shit, we just had seven games, 10 days. Caught a Charlie Haas on the plane. Don't fucking touch me. Yeah, nah, yeah. So that gets you in a fight right there.
Starting point is 01:04:33 Don't fucking think about Charlie Haas on the plane. Don't fucking touch me. One of my vets taught me that. He said, hey, man, you out here seeing these beautiful girls, man, you go back to the things you got at home. You ain't excited no more. Better go ahead and pop one of these. Don't have none down. Shout out to Rose Parks you got at home. You ain't excited no more. You better go ahead and pop one of these. Don't have none now. Shout out to Rose Sparks for sponsoring the show.
Starting point is 01:04:48 So if you've been following Scotty Pippen on social media for the last few years, you know he's been a bit turnt up these days. So in a recent appearance on the PBD podcast, Pippen said he was a better team player than LeBron James, citing his six chips won alongside Michael Jordan and the Bulls. Here is the clip. Would you put yourself ahead of LeBron as citing his six chips, one alongside Michael Jordan and the Bulls. Here is the clip. Would you put yourself ahead of LeBron as a team standpoint?
Starting point is 01:05:09 My success as a team is more successful than LeBron. I got six rings. Okay. So then if I talk to an NBA owner, by the way, this is very helpful because for me as a fan, I've followed this. So if I speak from an NBA standpoint, owner, and I want to find an all-around player to be my number one, you think the average owner is going to pick you or LeBron? I don't know. Got it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:05:44 So that. You want individual accolades or you want championships? Because I didn't chase mines. Okay. So we got gotta discuss it. Do you agree that Scottie Pippen is a better player than LeBron from a team standpoint? No, that's not even how you ask the question. Like, I, you're changing the, you know, get him, get him, get him.
Starting point is 01:06:18 I'm just saying, like, it's a stupid, it's a stupid question. You're, you're, you're asking it, you're asking it as who's a better, if you want to know who's a stupid question. You're asking it as who's a better player. If you want to know who's a better player, just say who's the better player between you and Pippen. Who had more team success? Obviously, the person with six rings. Right? If you ask Robert Horry who had more team success, you or Michael Jordan. He's going to say him because he got seven rings.
Starting point is 01:06:46 So depending on how you word the fucking question, that's the type of confusion you get. I don't know. The question is the question. The question is the question.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Look how he words it. But then he reworded it, right? The question is the question. Look how he reworded it. But then he reworded it. From a team success team. Okay, team success. So all that is actually. It's about the GM shit, right? Yeah. But you see how he worded it?
Starting point is 01:07:13 Yeah. He's changing the wording. Yeah, he changed the words to get. And that's why Scottie said he didn't know who the GMs would pick. Like who people would pick over. He said who would pick for a team. Once you put team in it, then it has nothing to do with them. Now it's just about your accolades.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Who has better team success? Scotty, you got six. Well, the difference, I think, in the conversation is Scotty played a role in that team's success. LeBron played a role in the team's success. Scotty was never number one. Uh-uh. LeBron was. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:07:42 So he's saying LeBron didn't have as much success as he had as number one. He feel like he can step in at number two on any situation and win. That's how Scottie's looking at it. Like, I'm number two, and I've always had team success. We were 6-0. My main guy, I helped us win. And if I'm put in that situation when anybody else has a number two, I feel like I can do that too.
Starting point is 01:08:09 LeBron don't. But he said, he said if- And then he said individual accolades, if you look at individual accolades, I'm sure you're gonna pick LeBron. But if you're gonna look for team success- As a number one option, he changed it. He didn't say nothing about number one. Yeah, he did.
Starting point is 01:08:25 Watch it. That's what I said. If you listen to him, he changes words. Watch. Play it again. Watch this. He says it. Garak, can we play it again?
Starting point is 01:08:33 Why would you put yourself ahead of LeBron as a team standpoint? Right there, as a team standpoint. My success as a team is more successful than LeBron. I got six rings. Correct. My success as a team. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Correct, team Scott. If I talk to an NBA Correct. My success as a team. That's what I'm saying. Correct, team Scott.
Starting point is 01:08:45 If I talk to an NBA owner, by the way, this is very helpful because for me as a fan, I've followed this. So if I speak from an NBA standpoint, owner, and I want to find an all-around player to be my number one, you think the average owner is going to pick you or LeBron? I don't know. See, that's what I'm saying. You can't. Got it.
Starting point is 01:09:11 See, because Scottie's never been number one. He's never been a number one. No, they wouldn't pick him. No, they wouldn't. He was number one when Mike left. But the thing is, there's a success. Been a third in everything. LeBron's success as the number one is below 500.
Starting point is 01:09:23 But we don't know what Scottie Pippen's number one. And that's the question for him. That's why he said he don't know. That's why he said, I don't know who they would pick. Because he has to factor in the fact that I ain't never been the number one. So he has no accolades as a number one option. He's been the number one at points in his career. MJ left.
Starting point is 01:09:40 Yeah. He was the number one on that one. So he has no rings. He has no rings. He has no nothing as a number one. No team success. Yeah. He was the number one on that board. Yeah, so he has no rings. He has no rings. He has no nothing as the number one. No team success. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:50 He wasn't number one in Portland. He wasn't number one in Houston. No, not in Houston either. Not in Houston. I thought in Portland. Cheap. Okay. Questionable.
Starting point is 01:10:03 I don't know. I don't know for a fact. But that's what I'm saying. If you're saying he said for number one, right? So it's like I don't like the debate when they have a number one option versus a number one. He was not number one in Portland. Yeah. That's just like Clay putting himself against a number one option.
Starting point is 01:10:19 He can't do that. Number one option has different responsibilities. Well, I mean, if you look at Scottie Pippen and the reason why he's saying he don't know is because he feels he does the same things that LeBron does at that size. No, you don't do the same thing as LeBron do. You do number two stuff.
Starting point is 01:10:39 You don't do what LeBron does. You do number two. You are second. What's the difference between the two? What he's looking at. What's the difference between the two? One gets the... Both of them are point forwards. Yeah, one's a point forward from option two.
Starting point is 01:10:55 One's a point forward from option one. Well, let's take away from the options. I'm talking about as far as attributes and comparisons of player. Joe. They're the same type of guy. No, they're the same type. There. No, they're the same type. There's a difference between a starting point guard and a backup guard. They're both point guards, but they have different roles.
Starting point is 01:11:12 But that's the viewpoint, perspective of Scottie Pippen talking about this, thinking, well, me and LeBron, we play the same position. If you get, whatever GM pick him, they could get a good pick at me second because I could do the same things he could do. That's how he look. He's like, I don't know what you would do, but if you want to win. Whatever GM pick him, they could get a good pick at me second because I could do the same things he could do. That's how he look. He's like, I don't know what you would do, but if you want to win. But I won.
Starting point is 01:11:33 And I know he's saying it from the standpoint of the options, but that's his argument is that from his point, he's looking at it like that. The real question is, okay, if there's 30 teams, right, and everybody got a number one pick, are you going first round? Right. Are you going to go, yeah. Are you going to go, yeah. Are you going to go in the first round to one? No. Who, Scotty?
Starting point is 01:11:48 Scotty. You don't think so? No, because it's going to be all option ones first. His option, no. He will be the first pick. BJ picked him. BJ picked him in the draft. No, no, no, I'm saying attributes.
Starting point is 01:11:58 Take Scotty. Like, just, if you line him up, attributes. Yeah, all the stars. Scotty in there. Attributes. Yeah. Line him up. Oh, he's going first round. No, he won't. Long arms. Athletic, guard. line them up attributes yeah all the star in there attributes yeah line them up oh he's going first round no you won't long arms that lady guard that
Starting point is 01:12:09 means 30 people get the 30 people get the pick one star they got a point a star put players out of what air are we talking about just line them up just period so so you got 30 so basically we all get a pick in our round right so all of us got to go for a player. Scottie's going. Scottie is not. He's a glorified second option. But it don't matter, though. Yeah, it does.
Starting point is 01:12:30 No, it don't. You said Kobe was a glorified second option? But he turned into a number one option. Pippen never turned into a number one option. So... Number one option in 94? First year without MJ, he averaged 22, 9, and 6. Finished third in MVP voting.
Starting point is 01:12:44 22, 9, and 6, bro. Third in MVP voting, fourth in DP voting. Third in MVP voting. He's a glorified newbie. Next year was 21. He got first pick as a second option. 21, 8, and 5. He also averaged three steals a game, led the league.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Averaged three steals the previous season as well. Those are great numbers. Those are great numbers during that time. Three steals? Damn. You had to line up who was going to get picked in front of them. That's all. Who's going to get picked in front of them?
Starting point is 01:13:09 In history? I'm looking at attributes. Yes, because Brandon picked Scottie Pippen, bro. Who? Brandon in our draft. You know, you did. Oh, yeah, he picked Scottie. I thought it was Brandon.
Starting point is 01:13:19 He picked him. You have the first pick. There's 30 teams. You have the first pick in the draft. So that means you got to think about every superstar first. You got one player to pick. You got one star. So that means all the 10 fucking centers, all the shooting guards ever, the power forward.
Starting point is 01:13:36 Scottie's gone. Right? Scottie's gone. Wasn't Scottie top 50? But I'm looking. Was Scottie a top 50 player all the time when he did the top 50? Is he top 75? Yes. I'm looking at like just him.
Starting point is 01:13:51 If you line him up, right, how they do you line him up. Height, arm, length, skill set, dribbling, shooting, defense. Scottie's getting picked, bro. You're saying by
Starting point is 01:14:06 attributes, you're not talking about accolades. I'm talking about just periods. Your first player is your franchise player. He might be 30, but he's been picked. Your first player is your franchise player. Remember the criteria we're using.
Starting point is 01:14:22 The criteria is that. That one player is who you're building your team around. Yes. He does everything. From an attribute standpoint. Yeah, he does everything. He's a better defender than LeBron James. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:14:34 He does everything. So you're going to draft him over LeBron James? Did I say that? Yeah, I'm just asking. I just said the motherfucker would go 30, but he still could go. You missed that point. But you picked that, though. Are you picking him over Kawhi Leonard?
Starting point is 01:14:44 Yes. As your star player? Yes. Okay, are you picking him over Kawhi Leonard? Yes. As your star player? Yes. Okay, are you picking him over... So I just gave you... Dwayne Wade. Yes. Okay, you're picking him over KD. It's a question.
Starting point is 01:14:54 You're picking him over Harden. It's a question. This is a Star Trek team. I'm picking him over James Harden. He does more. Right? Remember, he's talking about attributes, not career, not highlights, not accolades. So you... So pick an attribute.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Scottie Pippen automatically gets picked because them niggas don't play defense. So you're talking about accolades or attributes? Your attributes. I'm picking him over guys that you are naming. I'm picking Scottie Pippen over those guys, absolutely. No question about it. As your first pick. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:15:21 Over James Harden? Absolutely. Attributes. We talking attributes. Absolutely. Yes, my first pick of totalityames hart absolutely attributes we talk attributes absolutely yes my first pick of totality of his game what he does to affect winning losing yes scotty for sure four plus minus plus minus all day he's gonna have a plus 43 pass the ball he's gonna guard the best guy on the other end and he's gonna never come out he ain't gonna say i'm tired he ain't gonna do none of that multiple positions how many times does scotty pippen get hurt yo well he's durable as fuck yeah and you can play in multiple positions some of the other
Starting point is 01:15:52 guys they can only play one position absolutely and he can guard multiple positions one through four so that's my so yes absolutely yeah. This is a conversation because we talking about attributes. I'm a big Kawhi fan of James, but Scotty, attributes and what he's going to do to affect what we trying to do here. Win? Facts. Oh, fuck it. It's a conversation. They need him a question.
Starting point is 01:16:17 For sure. They need him a question. And he going to buy into it. He's your star player. Buy into what? The team. The team. The team. What do you mean? What star players should do? what? The team. The team. Okay. The team.
Starting point is 01:16:25 What do you mean? What star players should do? Buy into the team. Like you said, I saw a clip. You said the star player should get everybody to, if you're listening to the coach, everybody else will listen, right? Your words. So if he's listening and buying in, the star player,
Starting point is 01:16:42 everybody else will do the same, correct? Absolutely. So buying in is not just you being the second. I was buying in with everybody that's known. Star player. The star player buying in with the coaches. I got to get these guys involved. He's listening.
Starting point is 01:16:55 He's doing everything. He's first in line drills. He's first in this. He's being a leader, but he's buying into what I'm preaching, the star guy. Hey, Cole. Scotty would do that because he wants to win. Cole, we need you to reel it back. Big fella, we losing big fella. We need you to reel it back, bro. Come on. Come on. Bring it guy. Hey, Cole. Scottie would do that because he wants to win. Cole, we need you to reel it back, big fella.
Starting point is 01:17:05 We losing big fella. We need you to reel it back, bro. Come on, come on, bring it back. We losing big fella. Throw it into him. I got you, coach. So, so who else you want
Starting point is 01:17:16 to throw out there or are we picking Scottie over? Keep going. Don't do that. Keep going. Don't do that. Your star players, your number one pickers. Name some other players who in their day I have two general managers. Keep going. Don't do that. Keep going. Don't do that. Don't do that. Your star players, your number one pick is-
Starting point is 01:17:26 Name some other players who in their day- I asked two general managers this when I heard that. No, I'm asking you. You brought guys up. They said- You throw your names out there. He's going to go late second or third round. That's them.
Starting point is 01:17:37 Because he- It's not about you though. He's a glue option player. Yeah. He has- That is the number one option. Your number one player is the guy who's supposed to carry the load. And them same GMs that you asked this question to, have they been fired?
Starting point is 01:17:51 No, not that one. Had to be. Had to have been. Already for sure. And name me some of the guys that they've drafted. You're arguing about a player who actually ain't done it. That's the problem. But we're talking about attributes.
Starting point is 01:18:02 I'm talking about your start. This is your first pick. You're moving the goalpost. No. Yes. No, you're changing it. we're talking about attributes. I'm talking about your start. This is your first pick. You're moving to gold, folks. No. Yes. No, you're changing it. You're talking about attributes. I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:18:09 You were silent. You had the first pick to start your franchise. Absolutely. My number one pick. Yes. To start my franchise. Yes. The Michael Jordan, the LeBron, the Kobe, the Shaq.
Starting point is 01:18:20 Okay, those guys. The Kareem. The Magic. Attributes. The Duncan, the Wilt, the Tim. And you're going to say, you're going to pick a blue guy who has to attribute. Is there the top 30 of guys that you can name? He's top 50 all the time, girl.
Starting point is 01:18:32 You're a blue guy. Did you see Tag Blue? All those guys that you just named, did I say that we would pick him over them? No. Did I say that we would pick him over them? That's just me. I can keep going. Keep going.
Starting point is 01:18:42 I can keep going. I keep going. Kevin Durant, I can go with okay. Yonkish Lucas I'm over here with over Shay over Just this area keep going Give me a list. Give me a list since we want to waste time keep going. I'm gonna pick a glorified We know you're gonna do it because you can't do it in real time. We don't need you to go fucking research the shit and then eliminate, process the elimination.
Starting point is 01:19:12 You don't even know if he's capable of doing it. You want to line up the action. No, no. Right now. In real time, tell me. Get off that damn phone and tell me about basketball. No, no, no. Tell me about ball.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. So you don't know if none of the other guys can do it neither because we lining them up off the top with attributes. Attributes. Ain't nobody, everybody has a fucking clean slate. Period. You can't do that. What? How do you just say, oh, you was a star.
Starting point is 01:19:38 We're going to take that away from you. Because we talking about skill level. We talking about what you can do. What you can do. That's, that's, no, you can't do line. Yes, we can. Your attributes? Yes.
Starting point is 01:19:49 That's what we just said. What, what, what? And you said yes. Okay, what does the attributes mean? Take away, you're taking away the whole career. No, he's taking that away. Who? No.
Starting point is 01:19:57 That's what an attribute is. That's what a part of it is. It's an attribute. Skills is dribbling, shooting, and passing, motherfucker. His dribbling, his shooting. Passing. His passing. Defense.
Starting point is 01:20:07 Defense. Rebounding. Rebounding. All of that. Steals. Steals. Awareness. Awareness.
Starting point is 01:20:15 Witness. So the thought of it. Power. Is your star player. Height. Height. All of it. Body weight.
Starting point is 01:20:23 All right. So you said you would pick Kawhi? Yes. Yes. Why? Because he's top 50. His hands just as bigger. He's taller.
Starting point is 01:20:32 Arms just as long. Just as good as the defender. He's a point forward. He handles the ball way better. He does just the same amount of things Kawhi Leonard. Just the same. It's always, everything has been just. You can pick one or the other.
Starting point is 01:20:43 I'm picking Scottie. Picking Scottie. He's available. Scottie Pippen is a six-time champion. No just you can pick one or the other. I'm picking Scottie. He's available Hmm, Scotty Pippen is a six-time champion. No, you can't use that. So we're not using it, right? I'm saying you can't Pick a Scotty you line him and Kawhi up together and what we don't know I'm picking Scottie Pippen. Okay, okay How about I'm not why you going to your phone? I'm picking Scott. What's on the phone? Nothing's on Scott. Use your brain.
Starting point is 01:21:07 No, I don't want to use it. I know you don't want to use your brain. I know you don't want to use your brain. Scott, what are you saying? Get off the fucking stage, man. I want to use real hard facts. You just said Allen Iverson. I'm going to name top 75.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Scottie. I'm going to name top 75. Scottie. And we're going to see who you pick. You said AI, right? You just said AI. Scottie. Oh, Scottie. Okay said AI. Scotty.
Starting point is 01:21:25 Oh, Scotty. Okay. I'm just saying. Okay. Attributes. Scotty. Scotty. You're using...
Starting point is 01:21:33 We're going to start from the... Whatever you want to start from. Y'all got the timing. We got the timing. He did the big swipes. Yeah. Yeah. That's like...
Starting point is 01:21:41 So is he going to go in? That was real. So remember, how many teams are there? Lakers all... You just named 10 guys before you named... Lakers all right. So we got the... Remember, this is your first go in? So remember, how many teams are Lakers on? You just named 10 guys. Lakers all right. You named. So we got the, remember, this is your first pick.
Starting point is 01:21:49 Yes. So we under, first pick. We got first to 30 what you said, right? Yes. Third to 30. One through 30. Yes. Every team gets their first pick.
Starting point is 01:21:56 One through 30. Every team gets a pick. One through 30. Okay, let's go. Michael Jordan. No. LeBron James. No.
Starting point is 01:22:02 Kareem. No. Magic. No. Wilt. No. LeBron James. No. Kareem. No. Magic. No. Wilt. No. Bill Russell. At the time, in the era that he came about, he was talking about the Spaniards.
Starting point is 01:22:10 Do he got to play with Chucks and Dudu smeared on his wall? Right? I'm just naming them. OK. Attributes. Attributes. Attributes. Attributes.

Same, at the time, attributes. Whoever said yes got to go. Whoever said yes got to leave the arena. So, I put, so I'm going to let you keep going.
Starting point is 01:22:55 I put, listen, Giannis, Kawhi, Scottie, all of them, they are all on the same Kevin Durant, like if we were talking, they're're along the same spectrum for me. You put Giannis and Scottie at the same... Same... Attributes. See, big hands, long arms.
Starting point is 01:23:11 Every time you say it, y'all think, y'all think, damn, Giannis, because he's boring. I don't know what that means. If we're picking teams, where I know you're good... And we line them up, right?
Starting point is 01:23:20 I'm looking at how big the hands is, how long his arms are. All of those things matter That's what I'm saying you play you on that point guard. Can you play Giannis at the point guard? So going but like whatever their skill level Those are attributes I don't want to do fantasy conversation that we have it like I'm telling you the way my brain is like he's at 22
Starting point is 01:23:43 This man's averaging 30 and 12 that they're not on the same level Like I don't know different teams. So go s. So yes, we're on different teams. Yeah. Yeah, you get the ball every time So let's go you get to shoot 30 times again. So let's go So you're not gonna count. So let's go Your attributes aren't better than mine you get to shoot more. I don't know my attributes of whatever that is I better know you're not you get to shoot more than I do. No, my attributes and whatever that is, I'm better than you. No, you're not. You get to shoot more than I do. Let's go. What? You get to shoot more than I do. You're not better than me.
Starting point is 01:24:10 You get to shoot more than I do. No, I'm better. No, you're not. You get to shoot the ball ten times more than I do. That sounds like loser shit. Which means you get ten more points than I do. Matter of fact, you actually played twenty more minutes than I do, and you're only five points ahead of me
Starting point is 01:24:26 But you're so much better than me. Let's go. No nigga if I play more minutes I'm gonna average more points would that mean that I'm better than you now? You know if oh if you're using if so, let's we don't know what you would do an extra five five more minutes I will let's go there. Oh You said no Steph Curry how many people we? 20. Yeah all the names dealing it's starting to get boring now, because we already know attribute-wise, like all the names. No, no, no, stop saying attribute. We're talking about just the player themselves. Okay. Oh, so we're changing it. So we just saying it? I've never changed it.
Starting point is 01:27:31 You keep using attributes. Williams Reed. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Alvin Hayes. So we're not talking about attributes no more? Alvin Hayes. I thought it was too. You see how your boy changes?
Starting point is 01:27:40 What is attributes? He's not talking. I'm saying the player. Nate Archibald. Yes. Sam Jones. He's not talking. I'm saying the player. Nate Archibald. Yes. Sam Jones. He called in real time. No.

Starting point is 01:29:01 Scottie Pippen was pretty damn good. So you got Dwight Howard. And now we think about who they are as basketball players. Now we know that now we got all the names, right? I mean, because we still don't have this era. Okay, we still got all the names. We don't got Jokic, we don't got Giannis, we don't have... Okay. I'm picking them over.
Starting point is 01:29:18 You're picking them over this whole era? I'm picking Scottie over Jokic. Okay. Scottie over... Giannis is on the... If you want to put the new guys in it. There ain't too many on the motherfucker. Mm. But we're gonna throw, what, Wimby?
Starting point is 01:29:32 He ain't on it. Okay. What, he's not on the list? Why would he be? Because you're... I mean, this is... You're picking... You're picking a player. So, Luka... That motherfucker 12. Luka? He's 13. So, no're picking, you're picking a player. So, Luka? That motherfucker 12.
Starting point is 01:29:45 Luka? He's 13. So, no Luka too? No, I'm picking Scottie over him. Ja Morant? I'm picking Scottie over him. Okay. He's 6'2". Anthony Davis?
Starting point is 01:29:55 I mean, not Anthony Edwards? He's 6'4". I'm going with the taller guy. The guy with the longer arms. The guy that you would pick. The guy that you would pick. So, I'm going with the taller guy and The guy with the long arms. The guy that you would pick. The guy that you would pick. So I'm going to call a guy with the long arms. You know he's picked.
Starting point is 01:30:09 You would pick him too. Because you wouldn't want to go big. You would want to go versatile. That can fucking move his puppies fucking to life. What number does he put him at? When LeBron's not available, a guy like Scottie Pippen is the other guy that does what he does. Listen to what he just said.
Starting point is 01:30:23 Look what he just said. When LeBron James is not available. So, Gil. Scottie can't be up. He has to be option one. I give him number 30. You can't put him back to option two. We can put him at 30.
Starting point is 01:30:32 We're talking about player style. I'm talking about player style. We can put him at 30, Gil. I'm talking about if you pick LeBron before Scottie Pippen. Gil, we can put him at 30. That's the player type. The next type of player that's like that you're gonna go with Scotty he's just like that you pick the boss first just like that stop saying
Starting point is 01:30:51 he's just like that one is something points a game there's like he has a game you can't take his game away from it because he has the same amount of attributes by attributes has been Simmons. Ben Simmons has attributes. You line him up, I'm picking him. You picking Ben Simmons? I don't know where on the list. Scotty over Ben Simmons? I don't know where Ben Simmons is at on this attribute list we speaking of.
Starting point is 01:31:16 Okay. He knows where he is. He knows where Ben Simmons is. You're using the word attributes. Now I said, now we did attributes, right? Now we think about them, what we know of them as what they did on the basketball floor. That's all we can go off of, right?
Starting point is 01:31:35 We was going on prior to any knowledge. So we were taking anything that they've done in career. We think about the list that you just went over, the way this brain worked. I'm lining the guys up we at the park I might have seen you play might not I'm looking at what you here oh now we now we go for now so so we got this part okay so basically you're saying no skill no we don't know how to play just looking at might have seen him play We might not listen to words. I'm using Gilbert. We might have seen him play might not have seen him play
Starting point is 01:32:11 The ones that you have seen play and they attributes line up you gonna pick them first The other guys who fit that same stature of what Yannis fits that that's a light. It's that. That's a look test. It's the look test. Okay when can we get to the game test? Now add that, now we know of this right? Okay. What we know what they done, what now you watch them play basketball. That's where I'm on. How do you watch them go, how they affect what we're doing out here right? Mm-hmm. And it ain't just all about fucking putting the ball in the basket.
Starting point is 01:32:45 Ever. I just named top 75. It ain't just about scoring. I hear you. Dudes score due to other things to affect what they team do winning yes or no. One A guys,
Starting point is 01:32:56 one B, two, number two, number three, whatever your, however y'all want to classify the dude as, whether he's a number one option,
Starting point is 01:33:03 a number two option, number three option He does something that that's go fucking affect what they doing for winning and losing. Yes, right That's what we're talking about here whether you need the motherfucker to go score 35 Or the motherfucker the average 22 79 whatever the fuck you need him to do for what you trying to get done Mm-hmm, right for For you, it's scoring. No. I just want to know, like... For you.
Starting point is 01:33:29 So the number one thing for you is not scoring? Yeah, putting the ball, like, carrying the team, yeah. So... Carrying the team. Yes. So for you, you go with those guys, right? If you're picking, you watch them play. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:33:41 You're going with the guys that score big first. Yes, because you just spoke about points per game. I'm asking. If you're picking, you're going with the guy that's putting the ball in the basket the best first, right? And we can go down that list, right? You can start here. Whatever you want, you can start. Whoever averaged the most, Michael Jordan, LeBron, Kareem, however you want to do it, right?
Starting point is 01:34:05 But eventually, that runs out. Yeah. That fucking runs out. So now you got the guy averaging 22, 9, 7, 3 steals, 2 blocks, that's affecting the game in the same way that them guys that you
Starting point is 01:34:21 picked up here, but he just got picked at 30. Yes. It's the same fucking thing. Full. Yes. It's the same fucking thing. Full circle point. It's the same fucking thing. Full circle point. That list probably stops at 15, 20. You know what I'm saying? 15, 20, all them points per game
Starting point is 01:34:36 and all the stats that you could throw stat man, stat man in. By 21, 22, it started looking like Scottie Pippentine. First of all, there was 24 people in front of him Then you put another 15 people in the same board Yeah, cuz he can show 24. He can make a decision on if those guys that's taking around 39 So I said he was putting that 30 right I can pick it so I could pick anybody
Starting point is 01:34:58 So to please you I said I'll put him at 30 you so you can pick two you can pick 29 of the guys Any guys any guys you fucking won He's going third At 30 on the list and All the other guys that I said on the plane same playing field with him they can go after him Cuz they do the stuff fucking same thing. Same fucking thing. When we talking about affecting what we're doing
Starting point is 01:35:29 between that 90 to 450. Turn him on. No, it's, you're, you're trying to give someone something that they didn't have. Like, if we're going to go off of just an eye test of this.
Starting point is 01:35:46 Yes, that's what we're going on. Just how long they look and all that. So we're going to go, what, we're going to put Bo Outlaw in there? We're going on the eye test. No. Bo Outlaw. No, so we went on the look and what they've done. So we went with the look first.
Starting point is 01:36:00 Then we went on what they did when we watched them fucking play, Gil. We just did that. So no, we're not putting Bo Outlaw on there, because Bo Outlaw didn't achieve what Scottie did when I looked at him fucking play basketball. But he achieved as a number two option, because there was a number one option. Even if it was a number two option, it was more than fucking Bo Outlaw. Yeah, bro, he's still a high level contributor. But you're using, you're trying to use...
Starting point is 01:36:23 When the number one guy wasn't there, he averaged the numbers that I just gave you. 22. Yeah. That's not enough for you. That's not enough for you. I mean, you took away a guy
Starting point is 01:36:30 who averaging 30 something and then you averaged Because you base it all on points. I'm just, just period. So you ain't saying nothing about rebounds.
Starting point is 01:36:37 22, nine rebounds. You ain't saying nothing about rebounds and steals or assists. It's how many points you average. It's not how many
Starting point is 01:36:44 other things you do to affect the game. That's how you look one track of the game. You don't look at anything else other than if you ain't scoring 30, you ain't shit. So what would your lineup look like then if Scottie Pittman is your number one pick? Who's your number two pick? Oh, I showed you, motherfucker. The team I put together.
Starting point is 01:37:01 No, he wasn't your number one. Because this wasn't a criteria. I'm asking you now. This wasn't a criteria. No, I'm asking you now. If Scottie's your first pick. Sha, he wasn't your number. Because this wasn't a criteria. I'm asking you now. This wasn't a criteria. No, I'm asking you now. If Scott is your first pick. Shaquille O'Neal. He would be picked already.
Starting point is 01:37:11 Well, you asked me who I would pick. No, I'm saying he would be picked already. You asked me who I would pick. What I'm saying is he would be picked already. So you asked me. Give me a list, Gil. Give me a list. Okay, let's just do this.
Starting point is 01:37:22 Make up a list. Let's take away the obvious 25 that would be picked first. Who would be your second pick? Jason Kidd. Okay. Okay, so who would be your third pick? Patrick fucking Ewing. He would be fucking...
Starting point is 01:37:41 I'm just throwing names out there. He would probably be gone. Okay, probably. By the third round, yeah. Okay. By the third round, you don't think he'll be... Patrick, you don't be gone in the first round. Okay.
Starting point is 01:37:51 Dwight Howard. Yeah. Go ahead, Dwight. He'll be gone in the first... He'll be gone, too? First, second round. So all the fives... All the fives gone earlier than 25?
Starting point is 01:37:59 All the fives gonna be gone. So all the small fours gonna be gone? All the fives? I'm not gonna give Dwight Howard in the third round. I go with John Stockton. You just want me to start just naming guys? No, I'm just saying. I can randomly start picking.
Starting point is 01:38:12 This is the third round, so you're going to pick, what, 60 to 90. Okay. So we're still on the top 90 guys that's ever played the NBA game? Yep, still in the series. All right, so I'll take one of the two guys. You can get James Worthy. Okay, give me James Worthy then. He was the number one pick in the draft, not a slouch.
Starting point is 01:38:30 Absolutely, not a slouch. The fuck are you talking about? Big game. We know what he played like. But he had Kareem and motherfucking Magic on the team. So we don't know what he would have been. So we know it would have been more than what. He still was the number one pick, Gil.
Starting point is 01:38:41 You can't take it away from him. However you want to try to move the fucking goalpost, he still was the number one pick. But we know what he played like. But he still was the number one pick, Gil. You can't take it away from him. However you want to try to move the fucking goalpost, he still was the number one pick. But we know what he played like. But he still was the number one pick. Cool. But we know what he was. We know what he was.
Starting point is 01:38:50 He still was the number one pick. Both things exist. You can be the number one pick. Both things exist. When you go to a team, they got Magic Johnson already and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. There's nothing wrong with being the fucking third option. At all.
Starting point is 01:39:02 You got them two motherfuckers over there. And still be top 75. And still be who you are. Nobody wants to hear a third option be a top 75 player. Who's your fourth pick then in the fourth round? So that's pick, what? I said I would pick him up, Allen Iverson. There you go.
Starting point is 01:39:24 Yeah. You think Allen Iverson would be there at pick 100? Yeah. You think Allen Iverson be there at pick 100? If we're going by the attributes that we named, that we line them up, yes. So how did it go to pick 100? How did you get to pick? You just put numbers.
Starting point is 01:39:33 Because now we're at the fourth round. 30? 30, first round. 51 to 60. Yeah. 31 to 60 is second round. I got the same. Third round, fourth round.
Starting point is 01:39:41 So we doing a snake draft, or we doing the same thing? I thought we was just picking up Snake draft we doing regular order however you want to do it So if there's a snake Jeff I get the 30 pick then I get the first peak 31st picking or the first big in so Now now everything at that point When it goes 31, yeah, that's way uglier That's uglier for you at that. Because now he has a better chance of picking guys who he really want for his team rather than just what's left.
Starting point is 01:40:12 Now I get two really, really great basketball players with those two picks. So then I'm going to get those same two again, right? I'm going to get back-to-back again. You're going to get 30. You're going to get 30 and 31. Then I'm going to get 60. And, right? I'm gonna get back-to-back again. You're gonna get 30 you're gonna get 30 and 31 61 you're gonna get the last pick 60. Well, you're gonna get 60 and then Then I gotta wait 30 31 Then you get one pick then you're gonna wait yet the way that I get one pick
Starting point is 01:40:38 You're gonna miss like you're gonna miss like 60 picks. Okay, then I get two picks in a row then to get 91 Yeah, I get it. So I'll be fine. 30-31, 90-91 if my snake draft math is correct. I get one within that. I don't miss 40 picks. Yeah, you do. You go 30-31, right? It was similar to how you picked.
Starting point is 01:40:55 But then you go how your pick was and that guy was. So 30-31, then what is it? That's when we did it here. 60-something? Do you? I don't know. I'll get a pick then. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:41:04 One. I'm not a snake in that's what I'm saying one I'm not a snake like the expert. I merely have I don't miss because you get to 70 Night I don't miss this but you got that you so you get the first big of the second round But then you get the last pick in the third round No one within like the fifth so I don't get to pick in the fifth round No, no you get the idea the of the fifth round won't get a topic So that's what I mean So that's 30 pick last pick of the first round first pick of the second round last pick of the third round for last Pick in the third row. So you miss like was it uh, unless I'm smoking crack whatever that's sick. That's what's 40 something
Starting point is 01:41:36 Yeah, we're in the shit. It's cool. Hey Scotty Pippen man. Yeah, cuz I'm Yes, I want to go back to something you said okay though. You said Scottie Pippen over Kobe Bryant. Yes. Okay. I did. On the first side, right? We lined him up, right? Attribute. Attribute side. Okay. Yes. He's taller, longer arms.
Starting point is 01:41:56 All of the... Yes. But then we want to... Then, to Gil's point, he won't be there when I pick No Way, so... We put career in there, right? We looked at the IT, we know what they do. He wouldn't be there when I pick No Way. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So attributes, this is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:42:13 People don't say, I'm saying fucking Scott is a better basketball player than Kobe Bryant. No. Line them up. Attributes. Height. Long arms. Mm-hmm. Scottie lines up to the guys at NBA.
Starting point is 01:42:27 Here's what they measure guys on now. He can jump, long arms. He's tall. Before we see him play basketball, he has a fucking great chance. Okay. Before we see him play. Now, once we see him play,
Starting point is 01:42:41 he still have an even better chance. He's still 31? Yes. I'm still picking him 30 just to make you fucking happy. Yeah, that's not making me happy. Yeah, we're talking about this conversation, me and you happy. Well, us three. Because Josiah's not in it.
Starting point is 01:42:54 I just merely... You're merely a host. I merely a host? I got you. So I was going to say, Josiah's merely a host. But I want to feel like I'm part of the crew too. You are, but you stay out of it always. So I'm not going to put you in this.
Starting point is 01:43:06 Yeah. I do. Like I said, I put him at 30. And then we go on what we saw him do for their career. Okay, cool. I'm going with a guy that does a lot. And not just one thing. So that's what we're putting teams together, right?
Starting point is 01:43:32 And we're trying to win. We're trying to compete. You got to see your mind. Is processing working or? No, I'm just off the people he had around. Sounds like a very nice. It's a big fish you just caught there. Is that you?
Starting point is 01:43:50 It's a big fish you just caught there. Scottie, Jason Kidd, John Stockton. No, I was just throwing names out there, Gil. I get it, I get it. You put a list together for real and let me pick? And we can do the job? Come on now, you know what I do, bruh. All right, well, let's keep do the job. Come on now, you know what I do, bro. All right, well, let's keep this moving.
Starting point is 01:44:07 You know what I do, Gilberto. Pippen also spoke on his dissolved relationship with MJ. Let's take a listen. Great, great teammate, but we just never were a great friend. Never, even when you guys played? No. When's the last time you and Michael spoke? Right around the
Starting point is 01:44:28 pandemic. Oh, so it's been a minute since you... Yeah. Is that the text exchange when he shot you a text May of 2020 and he said, hey, Scotty, I heard you were upset. Let me know when you have a minute to speak. Is that the last time you guys spoke? Something like that. Something like that. Did you actually call him? Did you guys talk or did you just
Starting point is 01:44:44 text him? No, I think we ended up speaking briefly. Did it end up being good, the conversation? Yeah, I guess. Good and final. That's what it was. Good and final. Good and final. Because of you or because of him?
Starting point is 01:45:06 I just, yeah. Yeah. I don't want to pick because of who. It's just good and final. Good and final. Nothing wrong with good and final. Any hope of a reconciliation between MJ and Scotty? No, we'd say good and final.
Starting point is 01:45:30 You just said good and final. No. Nothing's ever final. Yeah, it is. You know. Yeah, it is. Yeah, it is. When two grown men make a decision.
Starting point is 01:45:38 Leave me alone. No, we appreciate it. We respect one another to stay out of each other. Yeah, that's all it is. Leave me alone. Right, the feeling is mutual, like he said. So, I said it on this show before, right? People outside of the NBA and outside of sports.
Starting point is 01:45:56 Not NBA, but sports. I'm going to take team sports. Think, and with this misconception that because we are teammates that we are friends because they see us there and we're on tv and we're doing this thing together that look good we look cohesive out here i high five you good job i speak highly of you in the prayer. They think, like, they think we are friends. When, in all actuality, we sit in cubicles when we in the locker room. Yep.
Starting point is 01:46:35 Yep. Just like you go to your desk job, your office, y'all have a staff meeting, y'all come to y'all staff meeting to brainstorm to make this company work. That's our game practices. The game is to perform like what we didn't talk about in the staff meeting. But we're coworkers.
Starting point is 01:47:02 Some guys develop friendships. They do. Long-lasting or when they're playing or forever. Some do, some don't. But the majority of it during the summer when I go to Dallas after the last game, most, more than likely, I wasn't seeing any of my teammates until September. Unless we met, unless one of us was in the same, we was in L.A.,
Starting point is 01:47:34 or we in Miami, we playing other than that. We're not hanging out. They're not coming. Some guys go to birthday, kids birthday parties, they're inviting the weddings, bar mitzvahs,
Starting point is 01:47:48 whatever they do. Right? They do those things those things absolutely there's some of that going on but for the most part when i played guys went to their hometown where they was from spent time with their family they traveled they kicked and when we showed up to work again that's when we got back so for him to say we were never friends, he was a good teammate, but we were never friends, it's more of that than the other way from my experience. Some teams are closer, yes, but... Is that a surprise, though? Like, just like...
Starting point is 01:48:20 Knowing personalities? Not that I know... No, just like we watched their success, right? And it was so amazing, right? I'm pretty sure if we all had to bet how many dinners they went to, nobody would have picked Zero. Them two?
Starting point is 01:48:40 Yeah. Shit. Not even a Popeye's? Like, when he said Zero, I'm like, wait, what? Like we know what zero sounds like in the NBA. Like you and those are enemies. Like let's go get dinner type shit? Like me and like, hey, Scottie, let's go get dinner.
Starting point is 01:48:57 Yeah. Never. You ain't got to fuck with nobody like that. No, I mean, no, no, I mean, you don buy them to my six championships and all listen the flu game and he just Outlined it. That's the so that's the caveat where we would think that it would be that doesn't say like but if we don't vibe We don't vibe right if we don't have the same interest. We don't have the same interest Right, it just we can't force it. I know but but it is surprising is surprising. Like, that's... We know the success. Nope.
Starting point is 01:49:26 Okay, now, what if 20 years from now, Golden State Warriors... And then Clay say, yeah, I never once hung out with Steph Curry. I ain't hung out with Steph like that. We never went to dinner. We never had lunch. We would all be like, wait, what?
Starting point is 01:49:42 Splash, brother. It's just something that... How you guys looked on the court, you what what yeah, that's last brother. Yeah, it's just something that this like how you guys looked on the court You I mean, that's the professional because they all look so long tied together, right? You can't you could but you like the winning of you can say MJ and the Bulls, but you gotta MJ Scott in the rules, right? You have to go with that Same thing with the Warriors you like they would other longest staff. You would think that they would have some type of rapport, some type of whatever it is, all for the, but if we don't, if we not.
Starting point is 01:50:13 Not a lunch, not a dinner? Hey. We just one motherfucker, let's go to the strip club. Nothing? I'm clear. Like that's crazy. Like that's the one thing, like I don't care about good team. I'm like, not one?
Starting point is 01:50:24 Yeah, I'm, yeah, I'm... I went one with my enemy. I didn't be sitting there like, why this motherfucker? You know how many questions I used to get about that shit with Carolina? Like, you don't keep up with everybody. You don't keep up... I never fuck with dudes.
Starting point is 01:50:37 Even when I was there, we won because we out here to do a job, man. Let's go out and get this shit done. And y'all go your way, I'm going to go mine. But not even... All right, let's go out and get this shit done. And y'all go y'all way, I'm going to go mine. But not even. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. Go that way. John Stockton and Karl Malone.
Starting point is 01:50:53 Yeah, we never hung out. We just came to practice. I never seen him. I don't know what he did. He did his job. I did mine. That's crazy. Yeah, y'all stay over there.
Starting point is 01:51:02 I'm going to stay over there. I mean, that was the only thing I heard. That was the only thing I was like, wait, what? I had to rewind it. Like, there ain't... Dennis said the same thing. Huh? Dennis said the same thing. That makes sense. That makes sense. Like I said, but... That makes sense. Dennis said, I'm hopping on the shoulders like...
Starting point is 01:51:15 Why I'm jumping when I see y'all? Prime example to my point, right? Lifestyle, interests... Yeah. We ain't got the same interests. Mike ain't got the same interests as Dennis Rodman. Dennis Rodman ain't got the same interests. Mike ain't got the same interests as Rob. Den Romney got the same interests as... Right? So it's that. I know a bunch of people, Tigger,
Starting point is 01:51:32 that never went to dinner with. Y'all think they... But imagine them, six championships. Right? They went through the wars together. Winning six championships. When he was making the decision to come back, like, you know, sitting down with this dude at no point and be like, yo, man, I'm really considering, like,
Starting point is 01:51:50 should meet me here for dinner, like... He said Mike was a very difficult dude. But there was no... Come on with it. He said, like, the whole context of the interview, if you watch the whole thing, he deep-dive into, like, why that was. He talk about it.
Starting point is 01:52:04 It makes you want to go back. But you probably extended the invitation, and the man gave you his ass to kiss, right? Oh, 100%. That's the bitterness of it. I asked you to come. Teammate, you Michael Jordan. We are here together, but you still who you are.
Starting point is 01:52:19 Hey, bro, let's go get some dinner. Let's go get some dinner, bro. And you gave me your ass to kiss. Yeah, get out of here, bro. So Lamar Odom's personality, Gasol's personality was pippin'. Yes. Like, we good. We don't worry about it.
Starting point is 01:52:34 Like, he was the one that probably just looked the other way and things. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why it's coming out now. It's so harsh now because he's like, I looked the other way so long. Like, how do you go to, like,, like, the little spats during the season. Like, you know, you see, you know, Kobe and Shaq. You see the, who else? You know, MJ known for playing cards and staying up late, smoking, doing that thing.
Starting point is 01:52:57 Challenging everybody. Like, you know, even the Kyrie, LeBron thing. Like, you can see it when the two are, like, at odds. You can see it when the two are at odds. You've never seen that, them two. So it was Scottie Pippen who was like... Playing his role. Playing his role. He was literally being number two.
Starting point is 01:53:13 Like, yeah, let me go protect this dude, man. Let's keep this thing moving. We're going to shift it over to the NFL. We got some big games coming up this weekend. So we got a special guest joining us in the arena. Played 16 seasons in the arena, played 16 seasons in the NFL with the Panthers and Ravens, where he was a five-time Pro Bowl selection at wide receiver. Also co-host of the 89 show on the Underdog Podcast Network. The man who once had to establish the
Starting point is 01:53:35 rules and regulations of the game, which were 89, bottom line, Steve Smith Sr. Welcome to Gill's Arena. What's up, bro? We got smoke for you and everything over here. We appreciate you pulling up, man. Thank you for taking the time to hop on with us. So, Gill was the only person in the Underdog Network to pick the Commanders over the Lions. Are you giving the Commanders a real chance against the Eagles in the NFC Championship game?
Starting point is 01:54:04 Well, since y'all didn't have me on damn hold for the last eight to ten minutes, I was going to congratulate him, but I don't give a damn now. Good job. He picked the team. Good job.
Starting point is 01:54:18 I'm before you. What's up, K-1? I'm a little bitter right now, dog. Your producer had me on hold. I'm getting here. I done rushed back. Had some meetings. I'm real light-skinned right now. I'm real light-skinned. His name is Steve, Steve.
Starting point is 01:54:38 Light-skinned with a not-like-your-shirt on. That's Steve's shit. That's Steve's shit. You know Steve's ain't never on time. Just saying, y'all gonna ask me to come on, then you gonna put me on hold. Y'all talking about two old men arguing. You're talking about Pippa. Man, no, I can't play basketball.
Starting point is 01:54:54 Don't try to. But look, at the end of the day, it didn't work out. But Pippa doing this tour about how Michael didn't do them wrong, man, get over it. Bro, I mean, let it go. Let it go. And it's hard to when your son bangs your ex. It's hard to get over it. Oh, shit, that, too. Goddamn.
Starting point is 01:55:14 It's hard to get over it, senior. Come on, now. That's tragic. Dude, I forgot all about that part of it. It's hard to sleep. I ain't lay comfortable at night knowing that, hey, I'm tied to this family forever in one way, and then you put this on my plate?
Starting point is 01:55:35 Come on, now. I got to answer this shit now? Damn, I got to answer by the goddamn daddy. Now I got to talk about the son, too? Like, come on, man. Both the Jorys are in front of me. That's crazy. Now I gotta answer by the goddamn daddy now. I gotta talk about the son to Pray sometimes shit Steve I got a question for you man Norm I'm with the Eagles this year, man. I'm looking at my receiver and my quarterback combo out there.
Starting point is 01:56:12 My two stars not connecting, man. I need to know from a receiver standpoint, are Jalen and A.J. on the same page? What's going on out there? I think they're on the same page. It's frustrating when you don't get the ball as a receiver. It's kind of like
Starting point is 01:56:33 basketball now. It's kind of like you're a shooter, you're wide open, but they just keep passing it to the center down low and he's getting his points. Catching passes, the pass game is a rhythm. And Jalen Hurts can be streaky at times, streaky in a good way and streaky in a bad way. And, you know, receivers, we know if we don't get an opportunity
Starting point is 01:56:59 to show the defense, the opposing team, the opposing next couple of games, whether it's the Super Bowl, the NFC Championship game, if we don't get to show a team that they need to fear the passing game, that does hurt the game plan for the offense because you're not really sure what to go to. And that can be problematic. That can be frustrating. And then also to a wide receiver, you're sitting on that island you start daydreaming you start thinking you start assuming um you start obsessing about why things aren't there why people aren't passing me the ball so then you start to just build up a little bit of animosity you get mad at the coach you get mad at the offensive coordinator Matt Dolphins, coordinator, then you guys know nothing perturbs a specialist more is all the practice we do, all the meetings we have, and then we get in the game and you run in the plays,
Starting point is 01:57:57 not to me, but you have me practice. And so then you just start to get there and you start, you start to get hot. You startaming it's like man they made me run this route they made me run that route and they not give me the foot they not give me the football and then all of a sudden you haven't given me the football in three quarters now all of a sudden you won't be want me to be Moses and part the Red Sea when I haven't done anything for three quarters and all of a sudden you want me to run a go you haven't given me a hitch you want me to run a slant and go you haven't given me a hit. You want me to run a slant and goal. You haven't given me a slant. So that's where things can get a little fuzzy and things start to get a little unique and interesting.
Starting point is 01:58:31 Well, let's talk about the quarterback-receiver relationship. perceived when your receiver is reading a book on the sideline in a game because he's not getting a ball like how do you take that as a as a not only as a teammate but as a quarterback that's you know it's the hardest position in football because you have to delegate to so many different personalities and you got your star guy reading a book on the sideline. How do you take that? I would keep my helmet on and listen to music. Sometimes when you're not in the game or you're not in that groove, you got to be ready and prepared.
Starting point is 01:59:18 And so if you're telling me reading a book is making somebody feel some type of way, at the end of the day, this is a business. And we're independent contractors that can only work in those 32 cities. And how I get prepared during a game, if it's not detrimental to the team, why does it matter what I'm doing? If I'm on the sideline and I'm reading a book or I'm doing this, I'm not distracting. I'm reading a book. He's not reading a comic book.
Starting point is 01:59:44 But Steve, but Steve, but Steve, if you're playing with him I'm not distracting. I'm reading a book. He's not reading a comic book. But Steve, but Steve, but Steve, if you playing with him and you producing and he not and he reading a book, you not feeling some type of way? No, because I also know why he's not producing. Why is he not producing? He can't throw the ball to himself,
Starting point is 02:00:00 can he? Hey, no. Okay, I got a question. There you go. I got a question. I was listening to Keys, Kenny. Hey, no, hey, that's not, okay, I got a question. There you go. I got a question. I was listening to Keyshawn. Their passing game hasn't been great anyway. Right.
Starting point is 02:00:11 So it's not like him reading his book is doing something to someone else. I mean, at the end of the day, he's trying to stay within himself and not go outside of himself because the fact that he's reading the book is a problem. Let's be honest. We also, how many times have we heard fans talk about he's ignorant and he can't read. So now you're mad because he can't read. So you gotta pick and choose which one you want.
Starting point is 02:00:39 Do you want the angry black man or do you want the black man that's sitting there trying to get his zen, that's trying to get himself in yeah so he could do his job so you got to pick one of the other yeah so I was listening to was a Keyshawn Johnson and he said something about that he never played with the same he never finished with the same quarterback he started with. And he had, was it 11 different quarterbacks in, what, 12 years? So how do you determine who is a great receiver if the guy who's throwing the ball is not that good? Like, how do you determine, like, who is a like, who's, like, who is a top five receiver when it all depends on someone else?
Starting point is 02:01:31 I mean, that's a great question. It also has to do with you go watch him film and know him. There's sometimes you'll see a receiver get open, and the ball is tipped. So does that mean that the receiver can't get open because he didn't catch that pass? No, that just means that the ball is tipped. So does that mean that the receiver can't get open because he didn't catch that pass? No, that just means that the ball was tipped. He's still like I, when I played, I used to say, no, I would get frustrated if I ran a great route and I didn't get the ball. I would say, they say great route. I was like, no, that's not a great route. I just killing grass
Starting point is 02:02:00 because it's only a good route. If you have the ball in your hand and the dudes that the same guys that go in footlocker that's on the football field that can get your jays they gonna tell this is the first down right they're gonna put they're gonna put the ball down to where you have gotten tackled where you receive that pass so you could be a good receiver and have a bad quarterback. You also can be a hell of a quarterback and have some poor receivers as well. So it goes hand in hand. It's not like it's just one way. It goes both.
Starting point is 02:02:37 Now, in the case of Cincinnati Bengals or the Philadelphia Eagles, A.J. Brown is a beast. The slim reaper, Devontae Smith, he's a dog. Dallas got her. He can play, too. But also, Saquon Barkley is moving that football left and right with the run game. I mean, he had, what, Jalen Hurst had 128 yards, right? It's not he had 128 yards because the Los Angeles Rams aren't very good.
Starting point is 02:03:03 Their D-line was really good. So they had to find other ways to get the ball into the end zone, move the ball up and down the field, and that's what they did. And at the end of the day, it's not about a sloppy win or a sloppy loss. It's just about the win. That's what it's really about. It's hard to say that as a player because you want to be part. You want to be on that stat line.
Starting point is 02:03:30 You want to have the 100 yards because they keep playoff stats. You want to have this. You want to have that. It all is calculated and kept up because when you come to the Hall of Fame, when you come to other things, the average fan is going to Google you on your stats. They're not going to talk about, well, he was on the championship team. I know there's some guys I played football with on teams.
Starting point is 02:03:56 They won two or three different Super Bowls with two or three different teams. But if I look up how many catches they had or what they actually did on that team i can't take away that they're super bowl champ but if you're a super bowl champ and you never sniff the field then player to player that's a little bit different that's like a that's like a a quality control guy on a on a on a team tells a 10-year vet, well, I got a Super Bowl, and you look up, that dude was just Xerox copying
Starting point is 02:04:30 or faxing or copying papers or holding cards up for something because he's a Super Bowl. Where the fuck is Nick at? She stopped. This is Nick. Man, just a Xerox copy dude at the end of the bench
Starting point is 02:04:45 giving water out. That's what I told y'all, man. So here's champions of experience, though, come. Y'all stupid as heck. Yo. Yo. I'm just saying when it's, it counts, because you got the ring.
Starting point is 02:04:58 I'm just saying when you're debating and talking about and exchanging war wounds, you know, and I fractured my forearm twice and you got a paper cut, that's different. You know, that's significantly different. It's locker room talk versus other people talk, right? It's what players will say versus other people will say. No, so first and foremost, man, I appreciate your honesty, man, what you bring to the space, man, I appreciate your honesty, man, what you bring
Starting point is 02:05:25 to the space, man, from you being on NFL Network. You're always keeping it a bean with these dudes, man. And a lot of dudes have gotten their feelings over time because you're not going to sugarcoat it. You're going to tell them what you see. Right? Because you did it. Right? I think so. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:05:45 But on a more positive note, I'm saying my Cincinnati Bearcat brother I'm saying Travis kills I'm saying we know like I'm saying the season stat wise wasn't what we knew if it to be or could be But last week had a hell of a game, right? You see the same type of thing this week Think they gonna do something to double-team him? They're going to do something to double-team him. They have to. You know, Travis is, I mean, he's not as fast as he used to be.
Starting point is 02:06:17 You know how it is when you get out there and age. But what he has, he has that savviness. He understands how and what. He's been practicing for a very long time with Patrick Mahomes. But one of the things that people don't really realize is Andy Reid is so damn smart and he knows how to get people open. And he utilizes everyone. Andy Reid has a plan. That's what distinguishes Andy Reid from a lot of other people is he always has a group. Sean McVay is like that. Sean Payton. There's a number
Starting point is 02:06:54 of guys, now Ben Johnson, where they have a group of people. They say, okay, I want a fast guy. I want the crafty guy. I want the slot guy. I want the tall guy. I want the short guy. They understand and they have specialists. They put a team together. And they plug and play their specialists. The teams who get themselves in trouble are the ones who worry about their system and don't adapt their system to the players and their skill level and their skills, skill set.
Starting point is 02:07:26 And that's the thing that always gets me is there's 32 teams, but not all 32 coaches or offensive coordinators understand how to utilize all of their people. to watch sometimes not every team is structured with the same intelligence and wherewithal that some of the other teams are speaking of intelligence and we're gonna let you get out of it let me just pick it back on that do you think the fact that once travis kelsey played quarterback plays a factor and he knows what the look for like if he was playing quarterback this is what i would want my guy to do right this is the area that i would want him to go to do you think that plays a small factor like just as far as the intelligence that he played quarterback at cincinnati and he was forced to change his position i mean i would say this is travis was on the couch i mean no because if it because if it was, if it did benefit him, his ass would be playing quarterback.
Starting point is 02:08:28 No, you have to turn up. No, I'm saying the coach told him he already got his quarterback. If you want to get back on his team, then you got to pick a different position. That's cold for move on. So, no, I don't think that playing quarterback, especially with Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes is a different dude. Joe Burrow is a different dude. Lamar Jackson. Not at this level, but... Nah, man. Just period overall. I got you. Don't take this to offense.
Starting point is 02:08:54 Who is Cincinnati playing in college football that you would say that that can help translate them to the NFL? Oh, you're right. No, they weren't playing nobody. Oh, no, no. You're absolutely correct. Trust me. Hey, I spent my 22 nobody. Oh, no, no. You're absolutely correct. Trust me.
Starting point is 02:09:05 Hey, I spent my 22nd birthday in Boise, Idaho, because they wanted to go to the fucking humanitarian bowl my junior year, so trust me. Motherfucker had six wins, and we had, yeah. So, trust me. I get it. You played a quarterback against Boise back then. That's a sign. I'm with you, brother. I'm with you.
Starting point is 02:09:24 I'm just...'m just I got you Steve Steve we appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to pull up to the show everybody make sure y'all check out
Starting point is 02:09:36 89 on YouTube wherever you get your podcast 89 89 bottom line put it in the chat put the link in the chat we got you thank you man for taking the time are you picking you picking a commander's 89, bottom line. Put it in the chat. Put the link in the chat.
Starting point is 02:09:45 We got you. Thank you, man, for taking the time. Are you picking the commanders this week, Gil? Yeah. Commanders. Good luck with that one. Uh. This is the only teams I know.
Starting point is 02:09:59 Chiefs or Bills? Huh? Chiefs or Bills? I don't like none of them. But you said you was... I had Baltimore, I had LA, I had all the places I was. They lost. Guess who won?
Starting point is 02:10:10 It's one of those games because you picked them. That's the reason. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's not like I knew what I was doing. Just pick wherever. So I had... I knew what I was doing. I knew what I was doing.
Starting point is 02:10:20 I had Commanders because of DC. Baltimore was close, so I got them two. And then Rams, I'm here. I knew what I was doing. Eagles and Chiefs. Eagles and Chiefs. Like I said. Steve, who you got in the Super Bowl real quick before we let you go?
Starting point is 02:10:35 No, every time I pick, if I pick the wrong one, people come at me in the mentions, so I don't care. I'm not playing, so I'm happy to be there and happy to watch. Oh, you scared? Say you're scared, man. If you you scared? Say you're scared, man. You scared? Say you're scared, man. I'm not scared. I'm just trying to, I'm just trying to keep myself out of jet. You know?
Starting point is 02:10:54 Because, see, he play football like I play basketball. Right? Like, that's, like, that's... Yeah, we think that. No, yeah. That's why I keep a lot of opinions and so don't say certain things. That's why I keep a lot of opinions that don't say certain things. That's why I don't say certain things about certain people on here, because he's not going to turn the other cheek. He's not a turn-the-other-cheek kind of a guy. Next time you're in L.A., we need you to pull up to the arena.
Starting point is 02:11:21 But appreciate you, Steve, for taking the time, my man. Thank you for coming on the show. Steve Smith, Sr., make sure y' man. Thank you for coming on the show. Steve Smith Sr. Make sure y'all check out that 89 show on YouTube. Yeah, I'm sharing it right now in the link. I think it might be my favorite receiver of all time. It should. He's funny as hell.
Starting point is 02:11:37 Get it done. Hey. Pound for pound. I used to work at the NFL back in the day. I would just go watch the clips of him mic'd up all the shit he would say that was embargoed that wouldn't make it to the TV screen I was gonna ask him where he rank himself in the top ten We gonna get him on the couch. What's so funny the whole time like growing up
Starting point is 02:11:55 I thought it was the Steve Smith from time from time that makes it in the film different Steve Smith went to uni Charlotte one. No, that was, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Panthers and the Ravens. See, I'm over there cheering for him, thinking it was the one from the Valley. Yeah, what ain't out there, boy? Different things, man. I don't know the other one, then.
Starting point is 02:12:17 Went to SMC. I think played with Chad Ochoacinco at SMC before going on to Utah and then having a very, very successful career in the NFL. Appreciate it, Steve, for pulling up. All right, we got one more thing we got to discuss before we get to mostly fans.
Starting point is 02:12:29 I was a fan on accident. I was a fan because I thought he was one of the Valley kids. 89, bottom line. That was the other Steve's, man. And he had... That was another Steve's. And you was asking about the quarterback shit. Like, in all honesty,
Starting point is 02:12:41 he had some horse shit quarterbacks for a couple of his career, a couple of them years, a couple of years. And that's why I asked him. Joe Jake. That's why I asked him a question. Jake down at Melissa. Because they went, though.
Starting point is 02:12:53 He went with. I was still. They went there with Jake. And I was. But he wasn't. If he would have some. That's why I asked him a question like, yo, it's important to quarterback be on the same page. Because if I see you as a quarterback over there reading a book
Starting point is 02:13:06 What if it's a good book? I mean the book is you sorry? Yeah, they ain't gonna get the ball no more You ain't gonna get that ain't gonna make me want to give you the ball You ain't giving you the ball. Oh, that was a noob? Oh, that was a noob. You want the angry black man or the locked in book reading? Motherfucker over here like, shit, they got me running 50 yard routes. He can only throw 20. This is crazy. Yeah, that's crazy. That part crazy.
Starting point is 02:13:32 Running them routes and you three quarters running routes not seeing the ball? Yeah, it's motherfucker crazy. Got me out there running the ball. That's like running down the court for a whole quarter not seeing the ball. Damn, that's not- You the number one receiver and they script the first 15 plays. Right? They know the first 15 plays they're going to get. That's like you being in and you don't get the
Starting point is 02:13:49 ball the first quarter. They icing you out. Nick was like, nah, we're not passing the Gilbert. We're not passing the Gilbert. There's timeouts. You got like the first two plays of the game. They drop the first two plays of the game, right? Yeah. They don't include you. At all. Right? There's a timeout.
Starting point is 02:14:05 Talk about the next two plays. It's a include you. At all. Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a timeout. Talk about the next two plays. It's dead ball, ATO. And you don't get it. You don't get it. You will break the play if you can get it. You'll be like, I'm gone. The opportunity presents itself. You're going, but in their case.
Starting point is 02:14:20 Never. You got to go run the route. Right? So you can't not do it. Yes The Quran you cannot like do a heart you can't do it your full speed You can you gotta do it every block on this play you cannot just like you can you you have to do it Get your fucking teammate kill that if you don't so now your team and I cuz I ain't about the coaches no more It's about these guys who I'm I with so now So now you really got to keep going fucking hard every play.
Starting point is 02:14:47 You got to run this bitch around every time you're going to hit this bitch. Like you're a decoy. You could potentially be a decoy every play as a star player. Like you about to get this motherfucker every time. They did that to Karambola. They said, we ain't passing this motherfucker the ball. Yeah, see? So it just, for like seven minutes
Starting point is 02:15:05 He now he need to get the swing with nothing. Oh That's AJ Brown. He over there like Like a mother they they just they he was trying to get the office a rebound they This team ain't shit. All right, well, let's keep moving. We got one last thing we got to talk about before we get to most of you fans. Before the Clippers-Bulls game yesterday, Norm Powell addressed the crowd. His attempt to pay respect to MLK left many wondering,
Starting point is 02:15:39 Martin Luther who? Let's take a listen. Okay. I want to thank everybody for coming out to celebrate the life of Martin Luther Creed. He was a great man. Nah, he said see. He said creed.
Starting point is 02:15:52 He didn't say kid. There was no king there. Where you from? San Diego, I believe. Ooh. Martin Luther Creed. You can't even blame it on the South accent, huh? I ain't have enough time to make the T-shirt either.
Starting point is 02:16:02 The Martin Luther Creed? Yeah. I ain't have enough time to make the T-shirt either. The Martin Luther Crane? Martin Luther Crane. I ain't have enough. He couldn't even pass. Martin had a cream.
Starting point is 02:16:19 What's wrong with this world, man? Shout out to Lord Pauldo. But can we watch it one more time? Yes, please. You got to be careful who you get at mic. I want to thank everybody for coming out and celebrating the life of Martin Luther King. He was a great man.
Starting point is 02:16:33 He was a great man. That's confidence. No, because you don't expect him to do that. There's other players on the team that you'd be like, that's something he'll do. He's trying to get ready to go hoop. He didn't feel like he fucked up. He went to UCLA and everything. That's something you do. That's Five years of high school didn't feel like college with the juco cop. You see he flow right with it
Starting point is 02:17:06 He didn't miss a beat. He said yeah education kids Martin Luther cream boy. He had a good dream. What was he thinking about? Coffee, coffee. What white girl did he see walk by? Ooh! Damn, Martin Luther King. What was that? That ain't nobody, Coretta. That ain't nobody. That ain't nobody. Lil' Cream.
Starting point is 02:17:19 Lil' Cream. Lil' Cream in my coffee. Lil' Cream in my coffee. That's all. That shit was yesterday, though. Don't shoot. Black history, man, I got this. White just went, ooh, cream. Come on, Lucha Kreme.
Starting point is 02:17:33 Hopefully they didn't hear that. They heard it. We heard it. Probably not a good look. Give me some cream after this. The team that celebrated black history is out there tripping, huh? Back in the Donald's time. So shout out, Norr March. They're tripping, huh? So, shout out, Norr pal.
Starting point is 02:17:49 You know we love, respect you, we rock with you. Obviously, mistakes happen in life, but have you guys ever had a public speaking blunder like that? Yo, just yesterday, you said calorie sap. Oh, yeah. I fuck up all the time. Shout out, Hussein Bolt. Yeah. I stuttersein Bolt. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:18:06 I stutter, so hell yeah. We did not notice. Shit. Even if we did, we'd keep it to ourselves. Public? Like, public? No, you can't tease me. You get punched in the face.
Starting point is 02:18:17 That's... That was the conclusion that I think a lot of us here on the crew could. No, you tease me for stuttering, that shit's still sensitive, so I don't... That don't go nowhere. Who you are. You tease somebody else for stuttering, that shit's still sensitive, so I don't... That don't go nowhere for who you are. You tease somebody else for stuttering, I take up for them. Public?
Starting point is 02:18:30 Oh, you see somebody else? Oh, you pick on somebody that stutter, I'm going to say something. Absolutely. Can you man up? 1,000%. So...
Starting point is 02:18:37 1,000%. So you beat motherfuckers up for the Dutterman shit? Like, that was a movie. That's still... We would pick on motherfuckers about the Dutterman. Eddie was... That's comedy. up for the Dutter Man shit. Like, that was a movie. That's still, we would pick on motherfuckers about the Dutter Man. Eddie was, that's comedy. No, the Dutter Man in New Jack City.
Starting point is 02:18:50 What, that's comedy. Or Mamooki, no. No, no, the Dutter Man with the iPhone. Gon' be some rich. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a movie. Yeah, yeah. But no, no, if that was a nigga that stuttered, we were like, man, come on, man, get the Dutter Man, Dutter Man, come yeah, yeah. It's a boob. Yeah, yeah. But no, no, if there was a nigga that stuttered,
Starting point is 02:19:06 we were like, man, come on, man. Get the dutter man. Dutter man, come on, man. He probably stuttered in real life. Might have. I don't know. But no, if you're to tease somebody, I'm around that stutter, yeah, I'm going to say something.
Starting point is 02:19:16 But messing up words and speaking, yeah, you be in front of a camera and microphone enough, you going to fuck up. Yeah. What was mine yesterday? I was dyslexic. I just calorie sapped. You definitely was dyslexic. Calorie sapped?
Starting point is 02:19:28 Like, you said it twice, too. No, he said it, too. No, he was teasing him. I thought you said it right after he said it. No, you teased me twice. I wasn't watching in real time. I heard it. You teased me?
Starting point is 02:19:38 I thought I heard Josiah say it. Because you dumbed down. Because you said it and said it right back. And Josiah was like, I heard this in the ring. This is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. I could have been going through something medically. Your signature is on the check that hits my direct deposit. I could have been something medical.
Starting point is 02:19:54 I could have never seen it. I was just showing up in real time. You're all over here laughing. I'll never tell you, Gil. Because you do it all the time. But when you say a name in the arena, that's what the name becomes. So now it is Hussein Bolt.
Starting point is 02:20:03 That's the name. Yeah, right. And when I see it, it's Hussein Bolt. That's the name. Yeah, right. And when I say it, it's Hussein Bolt. That's a new name. Yeah, we expect it, Gil. Like, Greg Williams. Yeah. You going to butcher him, and we going to aim.

Starting point is 02:23:29 Shout out. After March 8th. Move around TV. Pick a good, nice little game, wherever, whoever the winner, wherever you stay. Oh, okay, so. So it don't have to be just in LA. Okay.
Starting point is 02:23:40 It's gonna be in a bad region, team season gonna be over, tickets. So them tickets do include... March Madness? Yes. Okay. I would have done the Super Bowl, but... It's over?
Starting point is 02:23:53 Too late? Yeah. Too late? Let's see. March Madness? Okay, March Madness. Oh, yeah, then. All right, well, our first question
Starting point is 02:23:58 is from underdog user MKates. He says, is James Harden's step back the best signature move ever? Is James Harden's step back the best signature move ever? Is James Harden's step back the best signature move ever? No. It's not a signature move. Because everybody do it.
Starting point is 02:24:12 It is a? Fuck. Standard basketball move. People used to do it. They just didn't call it a step back. Signature? Nah. A signature?
Starting point is 02:24:20 Nah. A signature move. Drink and shake. It's not going to get no better than Michael Jordan's fadeaway. That's a dirt. The dirt one leg? The leg fadeaway? One leg. No.
Starting point is 02:24:38 Kevin Durant does it. Not dirt. But whose is better? What was the question? Is James Harden's step back the best signature move ever? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Absolutely I'm with you 1000%
Starting point is 02:24:57 I didn't know that was a signature I just thought that was his only move No I thought y'all I thought y'all That's all he could do Nobody else did it I thought I thought I thought I Thought y'all watch basketball. Yeah, I just thought you're absolutely listen. I've said that shit for a while. Absolutely. You have no other options That's all right. You can go left. I'm just I just that I was the most unstoppable
Starting point is 02:25:16 It is probably it is the most simple the simplest most unstoppable move in NBA history that nobody could ever block. The man scored 38,000 points, had one move. That's what I'm saying. So, yeah, absolutely. And for all the hoopers out there that have tried to do a sky hook, a signature can go in as only move, too. Or just ain't nobody else did it. The way he did it, people didn't try to implement it.
Starting point is 02:25:43 So the MJ fadeaway. Ice Cube got it off during his late-night pickup game where he dropped the triple-dome. People didn't try to implement it. So the MJ fadeaway. Ice Cube got it off during his late-night pickup game where he dropped the triple dunk. It didn't happen. It did, but this man scored 38,000. This man was a lead NBA scorer. He had dunks, free throws, and not dunks for part of his career. He had layups and free throws.
Starting point is 02:26:01 Michael Jordan fadeaway. MCA MJ fadeaway. Perfect. Okay, Lou Alcindor. Louis Ferdinand, I'll say. All that exists and he still had four points. Michael Jordan had all that shit
Starting point is 02:26:18 in his repertoire. The three point line. All that shit, the fadeaway, all that shit in his repertoire. The ring is seven foot, foot right Tim Hardaway crossover one of them the you tap to step It would have been Allen Iverson crossover. They ain't take that shit away from them. Mm-hmm cuz that motherfucker was lethal But every Michael Jordan faded away everybody ran down no love for the look fuck you three from LeBron, huh? You trying to throw what? Okay.
Starting point is 02:26:47 Skyhook. Okay. 38,000 points? What's more unstoppable than that? A motherfucker had to play forever to beat him. I mean, he wasn't just doing that one move. Who? Layups. That's the only thing he had.
Starting point is 02:27:08 Layups and free throws. And maybe occasional 12-foot jump shot Chad is saying the dream shake, but is he sky hook? Because Mike's fadeaway came from the dream No, no, the sky hook was the most unstoppable But what is the most is this like what's the most famous Or just like when you think about like when somebody thinks signature move, what's the best signature move ever? Best signature move. MJ fade away perfect. Most effective, god damn it, best.
Starting point is 02:27:37 Just because they put it in the song don't mean it's... No, it's pretty perfect. That jump shot was pretty... Yes. That fade away, when you see Michael Jordan in 1995, 1996... 38,000. ...do a fucking fadeaway on the left block... 38,000. ...fading out of bounds in slow motion
Starting point is 02:27:56 when all the cameras are going like this. 38,000. So, would Magic Johnson's signature move be just a no look? He he! Would that just be considered a no look pass for him? He he! He don't have a signature move.
Starting point is 02:28:10 Yeah, that would be his signature. That would be his signature, just a no look? A no look. Just... Okay. That's what that is. I'm just trying to think of like... Allen Iverson crossover.
Starting point is 02:28:18 What are considered like signature moves? Okay. Okay. Productive check. 38,000. Oh, man. So, we got one more question. This is from underdog user Shuman87. This is for you, Kenyon.
Starting point is 02:28:31 Russell Westbrook and Damar are West Coast players, both from Southern California. Is their style considered soft? Westbrook, no. Who's- We already said that. We already said there wasn't. I'm trying to get Sh, man. 87 is money. DeMar DeRozan?
Starting point is 02:28:54 No. They don't have the... No. They don't have the style that... Yes, no. Because we live rough over here. What? No. You're talking about how James Harden plays,
Starting point is 02:29:06 how Klay plays, how Paul George plays. The answer to that... It's that style. It's a style of play. It's not necessarily the person. It's how the game is. What was the question? I feel like you're talking to me. I am not ShoeMan87.
Starting point is 02:29:18 I'm merely the conduit, the vestibule. So the comment that I made about when I grew up, West Coast guys were considered soft basketball players. They asked, does DeMar DeRozan and Westbrook fit that? How they play. How they play, do they fit it? I said no.
Starting point is 02:29:35 Okay. Thank you to everybody who sent questions in. I personally think- DeMar DeRozan on the borderline. Russell Westbrook is not getting the love and respect that he deserves as one of the greatest players to ever fucking play the game. He's the toughest hard-nosed player to ever play the game.
Starting point is 02:30:00 Everything he's done for the game has been overlooked. We're doing all this LeBron shit and we should be really looking at Russ, because we don't know how many years he got and the way they've been playing with him. And if we don't really look at this guy's totality of how he play, it's going to be bad for business. So I can't put Russ in that soft conversation,
Starting point is 02:30:18 because his whole career ain't nothing been soft about Russell Westbrook. Ain't nothing been... I didn't say he was. You know what I'm saying? If he was a representation of Cali, if y'all say Russ is this representation... Huss Westside, as he's known. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 02:30:30 Russ deserves... I don't stand for no Russell Westbrook slander. You can't. 30 and 10 and 10... What point guard ever did 30 and 10? Rebounds. Average 30 and 10 rebounds. Never.
Starting point is 02:30:46 So. What do you mean he not the greatest? What the fuck you talking about? 30 and 10. Four times. I remember when the idea of a guy getting close to a triple-double and that was like 7 and 6, right? And that was like, oh my God, they could be that, right? Because I was, you know, we was in a league with J-Kid
Starting point is 02:31:13 and I remember like Tim, not Tim Duncan, but KG was like a five and five type or like eight and five. Like these guys, I was told when LeBron was the old man, he can, you know, 27 and eight, right? And the idea, you were the next Oscar Robinson if you got close to that. And then watching someone do it and then they discredit it was actually crazy.
Starting point is 02:31:43 You listed a whole bunch of players. You put these guys in categories to be this. And then when a guy does it and does it and does it, it's like, yeah. He cheating.
Starting point is 02:31:59 He don't count. Ain't no way he doing this the right way. Chasing stats. Ain't no way. It just became this thing that, how did they put this thing such on a pedestal, and then someone dings it, ding, ding, ding. You're like, oh, no. That's the limit. It's the limit.
Starting point is 02:32:14 They don't like the guy that did it. That's it. They don't like the guy that did it. They don't like the guy that did it. Hey, Joe, I just want to close on this, though. Look, imagine the last five years they wasn't fucking with dude name of what he would have been.
Starting point is 02:32:26 The last five years, if they not fucking with dude name. He just doing what he doing with Denver this year. See what he still can do? Triple doubles. With another guy in the game that does triple doubles. We both doing triple doubles in 2025.
Starting point is 02:32:41 Imagine the last five years he didn't regress if he could still do it that means what what could i what could i've done in the last five years that helped me surpass these other little peon point guards y'all are all peons to me ain't none of y'all can stand in front of me and be like i'm not the dog that'll eat your heart out so you need to figure out where I rank amongst all y'all, because y'all just cheated me five years. Five? It's over here. On that note, shout out Russell Westbrook.
Starting point is 02:33:12 Also UCLA Bruin, just like Northpile. Shout out Martin Luther King, Martin Luther Cream, whoever your Martin Luther is. Appreciate you, Cemetery Lair.
