So when you look at this squad, during a recent interview with Men Post, Wolf's head coach, Chris Finch,
was asked about the team's decision to not recruit veterans this season and said,
my approach with Ant or with Jaden or with all these guys is, we're going to take the diapers off.
Let's take the diapers off.
It's your team now.
What you say and the way you say it and setting the tone from the first.
First days of practice, that stuff matters and it's time.
It's seven years in the league now.
So both Ant Man and Jada McDaniels are entering their seventh season in the league.
So Danny, when you hear that, what are your thoughts on Chris Finch saying?
He's taking the diapers off with Ant Man and Jada McDaniels.
I didn't realize year seven for them.
But, I mean, again, they're not babies no more.
Y'all grown-ups.
It's your team.
Do what you need to do.
I mean, Rudy's still, he's a vet.
So they have some pieces there.
But they have the experience.
They've been to Western Conference finals twice.
Back-to-back before now.
You've got more than enough experience.
The driver's been off.
So there ain't no excuses now.
Like, y'all, y'all vets.
You know, y'all season.
So it's your team.
See what you're going to do.
Step up to the plate.
Hopefully, it said to get Lamello in there.
He's got some years in as well.
He can hopefully take on that culture
and see what's going on.
But Ayo came from Chicago.
A couple guys come from different places,
but they got enough pieces.
I said, offensively, it's going to be exciting.
It's going to be exciting.
You're looking down, making a face.
You're looking at the number.
That I've seen.
Living Jenzo is the second oldest on this team
when it comes from years.
But he had the, I think, the Killies injury.
He still, yeah.
Had the injury game four.
No, I'm just talking about when you're talking about vets.
He got a hell of a kid.
He goes Rudy at 13, Diven Chinzo at 8, everybody's six and under.
So they're going to miss Dante, white Dante, but suffered that late April.
So, look, maybe.
I'm talking about veterans in a locker room.
Yeah.
Right?
He's going to still be in a locker room.
That's what I'm talking about.
So when you're talking about take the diapers off?
Boy, this is a Y&T for real.
why Amber was.
I think they're embracing that.
Like, this is really...
They went got somebody that was really familiar
in Lamello to match
its energy.
I think they're embracing that.
And they picked up Caminga.
He's only 25%
so he's been in the league
long enough now.
Been in the league,
27 is 25, goddamn, goddamn.
Let me say some shit.
Seven, eight years.
Send the video.
Age is age.
Is your same for Mello, right?
Are they in the same drive?
You don't have to be like five.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Same draft.
So one and two, right?
Mello got one and three.
One and three, I believe.
Lamello one rookie year that year.
Over and.
So they both got seven years.
So I'm just saying these are, these are.
What's so funny?
With this team, with this team, you have to think actually long term.
I'm.
They got a good squad.
Well, this is, what's so funny is you take away the years in the league
and you think about the age group of them.
them, they're literally a very young
team. This is no different than Orlando.
Early stages in New York. Okay.
Yeah, okay, C. Yeah, okay, C. A little
understanding. It's over here. Like, you really got
got to get younger.
2000, most of these guys born in 2001,
406.
That shit's crazy. Yeah, so when you're talking about building
the team, this is it. Without Rudy,
without Rudy Goldberg's on here, right now,
this team is like four or five years.
We're going to be ready.
So I hope they don't look at the years and say,
well, hey, man, you're seven years in.
You should be winning by now.
We're about to break this up.
When you're just now getting your actual pieces.
Comeynga, Daniels, all these four,
y'all got four to six years together
for y'all to be actually a dynasty type of team.
So I hope they're looking at the paper like, hold on, we can keep this group for a while and just make little adjustments.
They got Rudy Gourbert Jr. cooking up in the kitchen.
All you have to do is just get, right now, my one, two, three, four, listen, we're 26 and under.
And 25, Lamello, 25, Jamie Daniels just turned 26 yesterday.
And then Amiga 23?
Like, my one, two, three, four, we're good four or five years.
Absolutely.
All I got to do now is just find the center,
find the center that I can play with them.
Which is easy.
Yeah, just look who they, you know he?
That's all he is.
Depth at the center position.
And you said you need Dern, huh?
That's what, uh?
Like, you can, you can go.
It's actually a good call.
That's a good fucking call.
Pick, pick, pick, pick, and roll.
That's a good call.
Pick and roll.
That's all we need right now.
That's a good call.
So, you think about that.
Bring me back to my point.
This feels like a great regular season team.
Like this is a top three team in the way.
for a regular season when these guys
got to play 82 games because they're all be able to play
at a high level, one would hope.
Lamello's health kind of always been in concern
coming up when we put them?
Yeah, but now...
I've been said in the top three in the West.
But now when we get to the postseason,
and then, like you mentioned, that game slows down.
Yeah.
I like them.
I like...
I think they make the playoffs.
I still got them, I mean, I got them
around the four or five range, maybe.
At regular season, five,
four or five seed, but then...
There's only one team.
I would consider, and that's Houston, if Fred is where he needs to be.
They're the only one off.
In the defensively and defensively that kind of match up.
They don't have no...
We got Denver.
Denver in the regular season.
You have Yokic.
You know what I'm saying?
He's not going to be...
Yokish is not going to be below a fuck.
Like, maybe.
Man, if they're playing at this pace, the statement they made by...
I only don't know this game in the pace that he plays at.
And the playoff...
In the playoff, you don't slow down.
But I don't know.
But I don't know.
They're half-c
They're half-core guys.
Top five-see, but in the playoffs,
so when you're missing that big depth,
depending on the matchups,
it's going to be,
like you got nobody that said.
It's going to be Sangoon,
Yokic, Wemby,
you know,
Isaiah Hartentine,
Chet,
the combination,
that's when it's going to be trouble for them.
And if they match up,
it's a first round.
So it benefits him to speed the game up,
but you guys don't better at me.
Even in the half court,
La Mello can play.
Lamello's a lot.
half-court player. Daniel's a half-court player.
Ant-Man's a half-court player.
So when you're talking about slowing the game down, let's put him in half-court,
it's not like you can shrink the court on him.
Like with San Antonio, you're trying to shrink the court a little bit on those guys
because some of them can't shoot.
They're trying to drive.
Every single one of these guys can shoot the ball.
Kaminga's the only one that's going to be diving.
Yeah.
Jamie Damned shot like 42% from three last season.
The depth in defense.
Yeah.
But the deal on, I'm going to bury McDaniels,
Caminga.
Ant.
It's a good defensive group.
Like, this is...
They could be good.
Huh?
This?
This is this the big position.
The only place that I'm in the same.
Yeah, big.
I think you need big.
You need extra rebound.
If you're trying to play, if you're trying to play, like, this is a group that if I'm going to play
playoffs, I got San Antonio, see if I can try to play Wimby off the court.
See if we can try to play his ass off the court.
Good luck.
He can roll, like, five out, five out, spread him out.
Good luck.
Spread him out.
because I got, like, he has to guard Camino or Daniels.
Right?
So if he has to guard one of those two and Daniels is sitting at the three-point line.
When he's guarding the rim.
Whoever goes up, stay up.
You stay down, send everything to the rim.
All they do is run around and send him.
I think he becomes a rumor.
You put him on Rudy go over.
He's going to be on whoever's at the bottom.
No, no, no.
No, I said when Rudy goes off the floor.
Yeah, Rudy goes out.
We got Daniels and Camine got the four or five.
Then you got nobody to rebound.

Hey, what's up y'all? It's Questlove.
And on the Questlove show,
I've been sitting down with some really interesting people.
And I've got two recent episodes you should check out.
I caught up with my good friend Jojo to talk about her music, her career, and what she's been up to.
Don't invite me to karaoke.
I'm going to make it weird.
Someone's going to try to sing, leave get out, or too little, too late, or baby to you.
Oh, no.
And I'm going to be like, okay, cool.
I also caught up with Wally-267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective, and plenty more.
I don't even call it cheat day.
That's a life day.
I'm not doing nothing.
Don't try to be slick and just go Sunday.
Go Wednesday.
This is what you do.
Sleep later.
Make a reservation for the rest of the round later.
Just chill.
Listen to the music you want to listen to.
Just enjoy it.
It's going to be all right.
Nothing's going to have you.
Wake up Wednesday.
I'm like, uh, and you're going to feel better.
And those are just two of the many recent episodes of the Questlove show.

Peace.
Is there an epidemic against literature?
More specifically, black literature.
Our books are being banned, scanned by AI, and destroyed.
I'm Jack Quees Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Blacklit podcast, we're outside asking some of the custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern day writers.
Why?
They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, Michael Maxis and Martin Luther King running around.
They want to build children who have no empathy.
That's really the ultimate goal.
We want books that don't make white kids feel bad.
So is the war on literacy and information or our ability to connect?
We want people to know how sexy reading is and how fun they could be
and not always associated with education.
It could be an escape.
It could be entertainment.
And that is the beauty of reading.
It can be all of those things.
And considering this is Black Reading Month,
the only real question is, what are you reading next?

No matter what you did, it was never good enough for your mother. Yeah. I'm Jennifer Arnese, and we're
talking about that and more on the Black Mother Wound podcast. We rush to accommodate other people when we have
been hurt and we have not healed. Our hurt has not been healed. We're going there. On the Black
Mother Wound podcast, we center the stories of black women as we heal and unpack how the painful
relationship with our mother impacts our choices, decisions, and life in every way. These are the
conversations your inner little girl has been waiting for. We're going to go deep, cry a little

Like, I still feel like, because he can't pretend like, like, Ant Man's going?
I still feel they need like a real stretch, like a miles turn.
They need somebody to rebound.
Somebody could stretch, somebody also could stretch the floor at the big position.
I mean, I exaggerated a little bit speaking on McDaniels as far as his height.
I thought he was like 6.11.
More 6.9.
6.9 with his shoes off.
Both of them.
Him can make about six-nine.
Yeah, with the shoes off.
And they got Trey Liles on the roster, too.
Trey Liles is a good stretch, big.
Just to throw that out there.
That would hope if he has a good year?
So you would match McDaniels up against Wemby?
If I don't want to, like, if I don't want to play against Wemby,
I got to test him in the first half.
See if we can run him.
See if we can run him around because because he,
his superpower is protect.
protecting the rim, we have to make him
tap in, tap out.
Tap in, tap out.
So we have to make him move a lot.
Versus just sitting in with Rudy, he just gets to sit there.
Got to put him pick and roll.
Pick and roll, move it, make him go out there,
make him come back, get his little ass tired a little bit.
Right?
So about time the fourth quarter to come.
Because offensive, he's going to try to tire himself out,
trying to do whatever he's going to do.
Like, I want to make him move them lungs just a little bit.
That's rude.
They're going to be good, man.
Man.
I just think I got to put a long game with them.
It's based on matchups, but they're going to be good.
Exciting team.
So last thing we're talking about on the wolves front.
Talked about,
we talked recently about Jonathan Kaminga,
bending on himself,
refusing a bigger bag with the Warriors to keep his options open.
Who?
Jonathan Kaminga,
which led him signing a two-year-12 million-dollar deal
with the wolves this season after the Hawks decided not to pick up his player option.
We've heard Kaminga's agent, Gil, you were very critical of that situation.
But Gil, Gil,
This Wolf Squad give Kamenga the best opportunity to cash out next summer.
Intricate part, man.
Cash out.
Me, and get the money you did.
Get a big of a contract.
Just get a nice bag.
This is our pocketwatch.
Is this the best, like, situation?
If he's going to get a bigger back.
I don't know if they're going to get.
Is there other things that he could have went to that?
You never get that 120 to 150 potentially that was talked about.
I don't know if he's going to get to that.
Like getting like money you lost back?
Not even lost back, but.
Lost back.
He lost back.
Hopefully not having to opt into the second year of this deal for six minutes.
Yeah.
He'll go get 15 to 20 a year.
Yeah.
I think there's no better position.
Like, this is a team that's set for him to be here.
He's not going to be a one or two hours on him.
I think they established that.
Anywhere else, I don't think he's going to be.
It's fucked up, but that's just what it is.
He wasn't going to be a starter.
Other places he might not have been a starter.
He's going to keep me a starter.
He's going to be a starter here.
He's going to have a real role.
He's going to play a lot of minutes.
He's going to play four and five.
he's going to be an intricate part of what they do when they're successful.
I think it was a good move strategically to find the team that fits him.
I still would fire their agent.
He's out of pocket.
But as far as Kaminga, him turning down Golden State and going to Minnesota,
I think was the perfect play for him because staying in Golden State,
I don't think it puts him in a position to be successful.
I don't think it puts him in a position to even find a real role within the team.
And on top of that, the guy that runs the team,
obviously isn't a supporter.
So that's just a bad situation in general.
Take a little less, find a great situation for yourself,
one that has pieces that will complement your game.
And then I think you can find him.
On top of that, you mentioned the timeline.
All of that being considered,
I think he put itself in the perfect situation now and for long term.
And you're now a foundational piece within a young core.
I got to ask him, what are you looking for this summer?
Like, that would be the question I asked him.
What do you think your value is this summer?
That would let me know if this was the right place.
If you're talking about winning and putting yourself in a position to win?
So we can just talk about the position.
But you're talking about going back to saying you're a max player,
you're right under the max trying to keep up with your peers?
That's over with.
But again, I can't have to come up with.
Just trying to cash out, girl.
Everything don't got to be a Mac.
Yeah, I don't got to be a Mac.
I want a fluffy bag.
You turn down like the, you turn down 70, right?
That's what I'm saying.
If you ask it for $1,000.
And you turn down $1,000 and your ass make $150.
Nick, that ain't cashing out.
That ain't cashing.
Three for $75 a day, but had the team option.
So it was always understood that he was never going to see that 30.
I'm just going back to the current, because he had on this summer, he had a decision to make.
Lakers offered him with three years for 39 or something like that.
I think, yeah, 30, 36.
So it could have been like 12 or 13 a year.
I don't like that.
But to go play with the, you know.
So it was either there.
I mean, Atlanta was a decent situation for him.
He showcased some good things there,
but they didn't want to bring him back.
But he played well in the playoffs.
They beat the next twice.
He played the four.
And he had a good little run in the playoffs with him.
I don't know what the other scenarios.
I just remember the Lakers thing.
I mean it.
Considering what other teams are out there,
would he be a start or would he play
and be an impactful right-of-way person for other groups?
That's also in the playoff race.
I don't think there's a better situation for him.
I was just going off of what he was saying.
Like opting out of this.
just like playing one year, opting out to sign a big contract.
Yeah, bigger than what Atlanta was.
And I guess a 20, was it two year 23?
Did we sign a gold state before he turned down to 75?
It was a...
Two year 23?
Like two for 40.
40, two for 40.
Yeah, but team option, though.
Two for 45.
No, he took that.
He took that.
They traded them.
They traded him at the deadline.
And then the Hawks didn't pick up his $24 million option for this.
Like, it's just like, I don't know.
At 22 years old.
your first contract after your rookie season
kind of established what you are in the league
and it was two years 49
and man
there's so many sorry-ass teams he could have went
to score fucking 20-some points again
to get his money value back up I'm thinking about that
the winning cool but that that winning
going to come with sacrifice you was already
didn't win a situation and go to state
you're in a winning situation, but now
you have three legit stars
that's making that money.
Go to say they really didn't have it.
You were supposed to be the last one left.
The other ones were old, right?
They was coming off this money.
This money is longevity money
that's going to be there for a while.
So this was a pit stop for you.
Now, you really have to believe
that going into this situation,
the rest of the GMs is going to value
you winning to you to get your value back up.
Or are you going out there averaging 25
on before the Blazers or Milwaukee
or a Sacramento?
You're going in there putting up a dub,
dub, 2020, 25 to try to get your 20, 25 a year.
So what do you think you average this year with Minnesota?
I think you average like 16 with that group.
They're going to put up a lot of them.
The career hire was 16.
The highest he's ever played in the season 26 minutes,
per game.
I think 14 to 16.
Yes, the same shit.
Yeah, so.
And I think, like I said, he can go take 15 to 20.
He can go get a contract 15 to 20.
It was a success.
This plan was a success.
But that's what I'm saying.
Like you could have signed that two, three, four years ago.
But it's not with a group that helped him.
But you signed that to play with the Warriors.
And if you don't have a good relationship with Steve Kerr, why if I don't want to be here for four more years?
But remember I said that then.
That's what dropped the money in the first.
Remember, I said, I said, if you, you turn down the, if you, if you sign that deal, you're a starter.
If you turn down that money, you're a bench player.
Yeah.
That's just, you know what I mean?
But even if I'm a starter there and I got to deal with this.
I mean, he would have fucked these minutes.
If I signed you the big minutes, I'm playing.
I got to think he ain't going to, I don't think it matters to Steve Kerr.
He would have been like, if you have been in 25 a year, I'll still push in a bend.
I don't think it mattered to him.
Yes.
It's tough.
Most coaches
He benched the number two bit.
I just didn't like when
when you have the bird in the hand right now.
You have it in your hand.
You got a strike.
Like, the first one sets the groundwork.
If you really believe in your talent,
then the money is going to catch yourself.
Remember, Steph Curry is what?
He's number one in most signed money.
His first contract was $60 million.
$44.44.
$44. The first extension.
It was some bullshit.
It was one of the worst deals
to who he was. The reason they
signed Kevin Durant and they had
money to sign Kevin Durant is because
Steph Curry, the best player
on the planet at the time, wasn't
making shit. It got
him for pennies on a dollar.
He makes it up in the back. The play
does it. Net the first
one. The first one
changes your career.
If you're bitter on the first one, God damn it, you ain't going to never be happy.
You ain't going to never.
There's nobody who thought they got fucked over on the first deal.
It's like, you know what?
I'm going to prove them wrong.
Nope.
But what if you sign that first deal, right?
But you're in a situation that still, even with you being under that deal, it still devalues you.
So now it's time to come back to the next one and you go from being that mid-team.
get the money and figure it out after.
Yeah.
What is there to figure out?
Because if the coach ain't playing, no other team wants you.
We can move.
Where are we going?
Where ever a team that wants to be.
Then you end up in Atlanta.
25 million.
That's how we ended up in Atlanta.
Where's my 25 million a year going to take me out?
I'm going to go figure it out.
That's how he ended up in Atlanta and that's why he's in the...
No, I'm in a year.
But at least you're getting the 25.
I think a good situation helps you get to that.
For sure.
Definitely.
All those things are back.
The situation ain't right.
It don't matter what the money is.
It do.
Well, it do have to be depending on the money.
When you sign the first max, once you get that first max under you,
you can figure it out.
Then we can figure it out after that.
Yeah.
Jalen Dern signed it too hard.
You can figure out the rest.
You can figure out the rest.
Well, it remains to see how Kamenga will feel with that Wolf's spot.
They will be a league pass top pick this season for everybody on this couch.
We're going to keep this thing moving.
But before we do, shout out to everybody in the chat.
We got over 15,000 people watching the show with us right now.
If you have not done so already, hit that like button.
Help support us.
We're going five days away.
We've got to keep the lights on.
We've got to keep Gil safe from Big Baby.
Hit that like button if you want to see Big Baby fight Gil.
There's nobody wants to support that.
Where that's a lot of now?
I already hit the like button.
Ten million dollars, Aiden Ross.
All right, let's keep it in the Western Conference.
Bring it a little bit closer to home.
Luca Donchic era in Los Angeles officially commenced this week,
as the Lakers will not have.
have a LeBron James in the lineup for the first time in eight seasons,
but there is still one LeBron left on the roster
as Brony James enters his third season with the purple and gold.
Brownie saw increased action in year two,
period of 42 games, seeing some meaningful time
in the Lakers' first round series win over the Rockets,
including catching a lob from his father,
first father and son duo catch a lob in the NBA playoff game.
So during the Lakers Media Day,
Brony was asked about playing without his pops
for the first time in his pro career.
first media day without LeBron here, just how that feel for you,
comes to the facility and just, you know, I guess, have participating in that day?
Feels like he's not here.
You know, I don't really have a opinion on that.
You know, as my dad, I didn't spend 22 years almost with him.
So, yeah, just another, just another, I guess, experience that I'm going to be a part
of and I'm excited to, you know, how it's going to feel during the season too, so looking
forward to it.
You guys know me as Bronny.
My real name is LeBron.
Like, I've been, you know, doing this for however long.
So I think it's a motivating factor for me just getting up every day and trying to prove
myself as Bronny instead of LeBron.
We knocked that Ohio out of him, boy.
That is Zally.
Yeah, I didn't know what you talked like that.
Yeah, no, he, he had, he had to put his wife for himself.
Gil, that's more...
I ain't the last nigga that left.
I'm Bronny.
I'm not LeBron.
He held you hostage, not me.
That's more of a chestworthy.
Yeah, I'm more of the Chasteworthy
Living in Porter Ranch for a while.
But there's still LeBron.
He said there's the first media about LeBron.
There's still LeBron there.
Without a LeBron.
Without senior.
I actually needed that because I didn't,
I'm so used to calling them.
I'm like, damn, his name is LeBron.
But I was senior there, but, you know, he's trying to pave his own way.
That was just, I feel like that was an unnecessary question.
It's just like, man, for what?
It comes to the territory.
You're going to ask about the dad.
Been around him pretty much his whole life.
He went to USC right up the street.
Like, you've never went away for school.
Family still be here, though, sister, moms, Bryce.
You got to imagine, Brian he feels good.
I mean, just imagine having to travel with your dad for work on him.
He probably feels free.
I'm about to turn up.
Free protection.
I mean, but you are LeBron James Jr.
He said it's his locker room now.
And going into that the game every night,
knowing that, that probably gave you some anxiety.
Because you're playing in the G-League and he's not there.
Your game was very different.
aggressive, strong, right?
Like when people
when people talked about him,
it was only the NBA,
Ronnie,
they never mentioned
what he was doing down there.
Right.
It was a whole different mindset.
And you don't change like that, right?
The only thing that's fearing you is names, right?
You know, oh, my favorite players
or I can't mess up, right?
We know how you get anxious sometimes.
So he might be more relaxed
even though, you know, that is the hero out there,
it would be more relaxed because he don't have to worry about anything.
He can just go out there and just play the game now.
Less pressure.
You don't have to be political.
It don't have to be, you know, he knows now that Braun's over there.
Y'all can boo them.
You don't have to boo me.
I get an amateur.
You don't have to attack me no more.
He's gone.
Focus on Philly.
I get to do me over here by my own.
Yeah, but, as you know, Los Angeles Media loves the hate on LeBron.
Still have a LeBron to hate on.
He's running.
I'm not LeBron.
I'm Bruny.
People love Brony because he doesn't, he is the kid that...
He grew up in L.A.
You know, he's a kid that just, I just...
I love basketball, man.
I love people, man.
Like, if you ever met him, like, playing video games with you, he's cool as shit.
Great kid.
No ego.
No ego.
Like...
Brony has touched a lot of parts of Los Angeles, crossroads, Santa Monica area.
Oh, yeah, the Valley will fight.
They'll fight you for.
But into Chasworth...
They'll fight you for, for real.
So he's touched L.A. proper.
He's touched the Valley.
He represents a different...
Sierra Canyon.
Thing of the league.
I'm saying?
He represents an idea of a family,
a son that could make it,
like a different type of history
where L.A. is not really hating on him like that.
And he's excited just like Luka and a rest of him.
He was in Slovenia.
Man.
Turning up, playing soccer, golfing.
Golfing.
He's golf.
The hell he's off.
Off his ass off.
Sent a thing.
To Luca, handwritten, just like the rest of the team.
They wrote him not have been.
They wrote a handwritten letter.
Every player on the team, I believe, wrote it.
Yeah, Raba.
They wrote it English?
Handwritten.
Can you can read it?
I think Google Translate.
R.P. talked to Matisse about the power of what a handwritten letter could do.
So I think it went down the line.
Okay.
Danny, have you had the right look at handwritten?
You know LeBron wrote that.
Ma, can you write this for me?
Shit.
That's great.
But then you don't want to cost you a bag or your job.
I know you're working with the lekers right now.
But obviously a lot of people have a lot of different opinions on Brony.
Yeah.
No, no, no, no.
They do good.
No, no, no, they do.
He's still on the Lakers, so Gleigh.
Gleys Brony.
Okay, there's only one group of people that talk bad about Brony.
Those are the people who hate LeBron, that group.
Everyone else.
Or the people that's jealous of Brom.
Like, yeah, not even.
Yeah, those guys are jealous of because they felt like, oh, I could be playing.
But that means you hate the daddy.
Like, if you hate the daddy.
I don't think they hate it.
But you only made it because of your dad.
Yeah, but like.
I think some could be a fan of Brown but just don't like the fact that.
Like Quincy, I played video games with Quincy.
Quincy and Brony was cool.
Because if you're Quincy and you're talking to Brony, you know he's not on that.
Yeah.
Right. He's not.
You don't get basketball.
You know what I mean?
You, you, you do you.
I'm a, you know, he's not on the, he's not feeling the ego himself.
Right.
Right.
He knows exactly where he is.
He knows exactly I got there.
So he's, he's just happy to be a.
part of the NBA.
It was his dream.
I had this hard problem.
I'm just happy to be part of it.
Right?
I'm not here trying to take no shine from nobody.
Right.
I don't want to do no extra interviews.
Like, I just want to...
That's what I do.
I'm not fucking with y'all like that.
I didn't want to do this media day.
Yeah, like, he's not the guy that...
He's here, so I don't get fine.
If you're a player and you're looking at him,
you're not sitting there doing this, like,
oh, see, he thinks he every day.
He's not walking around like that.
You know what I mean?
He ain't going to have a big change and trying to outshine you.
That's not the guy.
So you're not going to have the ego
towards him.
But he will tell you
if your chain is fake, though.
Like you had to do a fan.
That's a fan.
He will let you know
if he doesn't believe your tape's up.
What was the question?
As you know on this show.
We rarely get to the question.
We rarely get to the question.
Okay.
Master interrupt.
One was about the hammered letter
and then it was about Bronny.
No, but just a brownie trying to forge his own path
with his Lakers squad now that has.
He's got an opportunity.
I think he has perfect people to learn from.
Like Colin Sexton being there
is one of the guys.
that he's kind of been tugging at him
to get some advice from.
Like pick up full court, be a nat,
do the little things.
Everybody can rebrand themselves.
A lot of new faces.
You know how the NBA is now.
So many guys come and go,
a lot of injuries,
that everybody gets an opportunity.
So 82-game season,
he's going to have a chance
to show what he can do.
You know, they have a lot of young pieces,
a lot of depth.
They have more depth now than they did before.
But he'll get an opportunity,
and he's clearly put on some weight in the weight room.
I don't know if you see, he don't look like a little boy.
He's a grown man.
Added some weight to him.
And, yeah, I'm interested to see what he said.
He'll be more free.
Less pressure.
Nobody looking behind it.
He ain't worry about looking over to the bench
and see what pops is thinking, what he's saying.
That's my thing.
I think that's the big thing.
So he'll be able to play free.
I think Bronny will have a fun season for himself
and, you know, even better than last year.
He's getting better each year.
Quick question.
When do you disson?
side to, like, whatever player you are and you have this, this freedom mentally, right,
to be who you want to be.
When do you decide when to say, you know what, I'm going to just try to stick into the NBA,
get rid of all this bags that I have and then just become this?
Like, when does that, when?
When you get humbled enough to be like, all right, this is what I got to do first to do that?
Like, you know how he's like, like, he has an opportunity to reinvent himself.
When does that be like, you know what?
Instead of taking that chance, I'm going to just be the 3-D guy.
And I'm just not going to just, you know what I mean?
And I'm just going to just carve out this role.
I think that's more so a guy just comfortable in this situation.
If that's what you want to, you know, hang your hat on as far as who you are as a player in the league.
And, I mean, it's not a bad route to go.
Take some time.
You find out who it is.
Yeah, but you find security in that type of role.
You know who you are every day.
You know what to work on every offseason.
So it's not necessarily a bad plan
But you also got the guys that want to continue to grow
Continue to gain more responsibility within the game
And it doesn't always necessarily work out
We see guys like a Cam Thomas
Plenty of time that should 100% be on the roster
But you know, you don't quite fit what we're looking for
So it's a risk within it
But it's a risk on both sides, honestly
Because it can be somebody that's bigger, stronger
And better at, you know, being at 3-&D role
guy. But I think it's more so just finding a level of comfort in, you know, who you are in the
NBA. I think it's easier for a second round and undrafted guys to get there sooner than the
first rounders are like, yo, I've got to get my bag. I might be groomed to be that next guy.
Second rounders, most of them and undrafted guys are not. You got to do what you can to get on the
floor. And I think a lot of players don't understand that. Like, sometimes you have to figure out
how to get on the floor first.
Right?
What is the coach looking for?
What do they need?
Okay, they need this guy.
They need a guy that comes in, picks up full court.
They might not necessarily need my shooting ability yet.
Let me carve out some time.
And I always tell people, or it was told to me going to college by Tony Bland.
The legend.
Yep.
He told me when you get there.
Pretty time.
How you play, do that shit in practice.
Yeah.
if you go into practice
and you're sitting there passing the ball
and then they put you in a game
and then your regular game comes out
they never see that shit
so if you're in practice
and you taking wild shots and you coming down
coach puts you in a game he putting you in the game
because he knows what you're bringing
he said so sometimes
when you're in practice you got to figure out
you know that's your
game
right so if you got to pick up full court
right? Because coach is going off of what he's seeing.
Picking up full court, taking these shots, driving.
So when he put you in the game, you know what to do.
And then when you start carving out more time, start unleashing.
In practice first, unleash you a little bit more of your game.
It might take two, three years, but you've got to figure out how to get in the game first.
That's real.
Lawson Reeves did it.
And he was undrafted, little by little, get better, showcase a little more as you get more freedom.
But do what it takes to get on the floor first.
Which is real.
But you made a, now that you said that,
I'm thinking about.
I'm thinking about guys like Isaiah Thomas.
That was a second rounder.
And it's crazy because the year he was drafted,
he was drafted second round,
but the first round pick was Jimmer for that.
Practice?
IT was IT.
I-T was IT,
and I just looked how his career played out.
And he remained in that role
because the day practice started,
he was Isaiah Thomas.
I never thought about it.
Yeah.
That's valid.
Shout out to Bronny.
Yeah.
LeBron James Jr.
I got my jersey.
Got my number nine.
It already has a number.
I was hoping he went to zero.
Oh.
Go back to zero, man.
All right, well, let's keep this in.
Oh, but, yeah, do you think
Bronny deserves increased time?
I think is, like I said, 42 games.
Deserve?
You got to do that shit in practice.
Yeah, got it right, man.
But stepped up in the postseason.
So for all of the NEPO,
you're talking, all the negativity.
A whole new team.
Now, right?
You got a bunch of guys you don't know what they can do.
It's hard to say.
Do we think Luke is...
Only two people deserve...
Yeah.
It's three guys.
Three.
It's three guys.
The Snowtime Lakers, buggy.
We need a little bit of coffee in that cream.
Fight.
Yeah, so...
Hey, motherfucker's say, hey, there's two positions open.
They fighting to be the house, man.
I got the one, two, and the five?
Well, fuck it, I'm gonna be a three.
Man.
You know what I mean?
Go for the three-fold.
A lot of depth chart, though, on that red roster.
They signed Grimes, Mamu.
Mamu, you know, he picked up
Zaire, Matisse. You got Sexton.
I mean, you've got a... You got Hardy, sexting
like you said.
Listen, I...
I was 15 on the team.
I came in as the 15th person.
Shell shock,
depressed, when depressed.
And the NBA and in college, girl.
I didn't get no time.
And then I remembered
from watching film of what I was gifted at.
And then look at
what they couldn't do.
Right.
Right.
Everyone is Superman until you look at their kryptonite.
Right.
If you're just going out there playing the basketball game and everybody's just doing,
everybody is superstar.
But if you start realizing everybody has ticks in their game, right,
getting ready to shoot, they do certain things.
Right?
I'm about to, like Mike Bibi, I'm going to look down at the shoe first,
then I'm going to shoot it.
So if he's playing and he look at his shoe, he's about to shoot it.
Once you start picking up that,
then you start realizing, okay, I can start taking advantage of it.
Right?
I started looking at the team and what they couldn't do.
Okay, he don't take shots here, boom, boom.
Okay, I'm going to start working on my game, doing this, doing that.
And then by the time it was time for me to get my name called,
I'm bringing out something different.
So I shot up.
These are guys who are veteran guys.
So you can look at these names, Ronnie.
man, fuck all that.
Go out there, compete,
get your ass whooped.
Right?
Get your ass whooped and then realize
how they're whipping you.
Fix it.
Go back into the fight.
Fix it.
Like, low-key, you're going to be getting better
because these guys are playing real games.
They've been in it and they're teaching you.
And then once you realize you get in the game,
the opponent don't know nothing about you.
That's your advantage.
Yeah.
Scound reporting out yet.
Yeah.
I'd never be Larry Hughes one-on-one.
He whooped my ass one-on-one, every game.
But they don't know me.
They don't know me winning in the game.
Averaging 16.
That's rude.
All right, well, let's keep this thing moving.
Good luck to Bronny and the Lakers this season.
Like I told you.
Still one LeBron left.
So we're going to stick around supporting.
Only one LeBron.
Still one LeBron left with the left.
LeBron Jr. sounds better anyway.
No.
I'm a junior.
Yo.
I'm a junior.
Never call you junior.
No, I'm a junior, so I rock with Junior.
J.R. Arenas.
No.
J.R. R. R. R. R. R. Rennas.
Gilbert Arena's junior.
We call him Brani Jr., but we didn't realize his name was LeBron.
Boy, you look just like your daddy.
Just a little smaller version.
But it's time to try and finesse some bread on Polymarket.
This is put that on something.
We'll give you a trade on the Polymarket app,
and you've got to pick aside and put that on something.
So week four of the NFL kicks off Thursday night
with an AFC North showdown between the Steelers and the Browns.
We're talking football here in Gills Arena, presented by Polymarket,
powered by Playmaker, Woo-Woo.
Brown's got a winning record right now.
So Aaron Rogers, they're both two-in-one right now.
So Aaron Rogers and crew pulling up to Cleveland to take on Deshawn Watson.
Both teams two and one this season coming off of week three wins.
Steelers are the current favorite.
58% of trades picking them to get the dub.
But let's take on the couch.
This is not Raiders related.
We're only, you know, we're not talking about undefeated championship levels.
My bad.
You're talking AFC North, bottom feeders, 2 and 1.
No, you know, teams that have already lost.
But who's winning Thursday night football?
Steelers are Brown.
Aaron Rogers versus Sean Watson.
Sean had a good game.
He's been playing, bro.
Yeah.
He had a wrong.
Rough first game.
Been playing well.
It's just hard to root for the Browns
when you know how they,
they shud know how they shouldn't on Shadour.
It is hard to root for him.
But I am happy for, you know, Deshauny.
He made a pretty decent comeback so far,
getting better each game.
They won last game,
he played good in the second game.
Last game was solid.
It was solid.
But I think he's finding his rhythm.
He's running the ball again well.
He's running his rhythm.
So, like, it's good to see.
He played.
I mean, this is a, I'm gonna say Brown's on,
gonna have a little shocking year this year.
I'll give it to him.
Browns are underdogs right now, I think two and a half point.
I'll give him the edge.
I'm gonna go with Steelers.
Shout out to my dog, Rieke, the Steelers fan.
Okay, is that I was Steven next?
Break havoc.
I'm going with the chat, who y'all think?
Who y'all think? I'm going with the Jackson.
Is it in Cleveland?
It is in Cleveland.
It is in Cleveland.
Okay.
He might get some cheers, too.
What's the weather, huh?
Yeah.
Let's see what the Cleveland weather.
Go on chat, which one?
I can't, there's no ducks.
Is there a duck?
Hmm?
Who's the ducks?
Are you ducking?
Are you ducking?
Are you ducking?
That might imply you're ducking big baby.
You never know with our ducking?
Oh, I'm ducking big baby.
Fuck.
You're not gonna, listen, you're not gonna walk me into an ass whooping.
We both know me and him.
Everybody know that's an ass whoopin.
So there's no point of even doing that physically.
My weather at maybe.
I was very good at talking about.
myself out of fights growing up, right?
Give me a good.
It's supposed to be 82 degrees in Cleveland.
Oh, it's going to be sunny.
I'm going with the brown.
With the brown?
With the brown.
All right.
I'm going with the browns, man.
Steeler Brown, we're going with the Browns.
Going with the Browns.
Going with the Browns.
So we got two Browns.
One Steelers.
You know what?
I was beefy with a nigga named Brown.
Last name was Brown.
Don't need to bring that up.
Good, we have moved on.
You know what, you know what?
You know what?
You know, I'm going with a brown.
Why you got beef with all big?
Not about, I think about, everybody, it's all big man.
I did have a problem.
Like, usually I always went at bullies, you know what I mean?
But both of them, the one brown, that's my teammate.
He knows about me in them streets.
Um, the other one, I don't know.
I got to remember what I said.
I know I know niggas was laughing
during that, but I was trolling
because he was trolling, you know, trying to
make light of it. So
I might have been on the wrong side of that one.
Right? I might
have. I might be at fault, you know.
You don't remember all the shit he said.
But sometimes, you know, when you go, sometimes
bigs, they, you know, they half read
some shit and then, you know,
I'm gonna go with the Browns.
I'm gonna stay Browns.
Me and Browns got a, we got to,
You gotta unite.
You gotta unite.
2026.
I might need you.
I might need them fists.
Now that is it.
Now that would be an interesting fight.
Fuck you, bring them to the couch.
What you mean, them to?
Yeah, them too.
Bring them both.
Why people want to fight?
Let's talk.
Give a celebrity boxing for a bag.
Let's talk, man.
Listen, I'm, I personally, even though I used to fight a lot, but my size,
I don't like seeing people get hit.
I'm the person on World Star
that be looking at the World Star and the muffling gets slug.
Like, oh, I'm good.
I don't like, oh, I don't like that.
I don't like blood.
I don't like blood when I'm eating.
I would hope not.
You know, people are watching movies.
Like, I'm good.
It turns my stomach, so.
Yeah, some hits.
You're a crew.
Some hits did not.
I mean, here to fight, though.
So I'll be thinking about that, like.
So Danny and Gil both picked the Browns.
You pick the Steelers.
All right.
Well, that was a lot.
We can jump Big Baby, though.
I'm about that.
We, we.
Stay out there, Shed-D-D.
You know what?
You can stay out there.
You know what?
I shouldn't have put you.
Two-plow.
I shouldn't put you in that.
Two-pleum.
We?
Yeah, you're right.
I shouldn't have used to.
Get a lot of French in you.
We, we, we?
Nick.
Have Nick.
Have Nick fight Big Baby for you.
Because Big Baby and Nick are friends.
Nick are friends.
Nick might still off on you.
Y'all going to get there, he's going to turn on you.
I wasn't going to get it.
I was just going to send him.
Well, that was put that on something presented by Polymarketing.
I'm putting that on Nick.

So, Gil, we pulled up to Lanzo Ball's crib
recently to tape an episode of Ball in the family.
Wazzo, Jello, Dimo, and Ant.
Shout out to the crew.
Had delicious snacks there.
Similar gated community to yours.
I believe your car ticket
opened his gate to his gait of community.
Oh, yeah.
So my little sticker on my car
opened up his community.
Owned by the same property management.
We're not even close to each other.
That's crazy.
Lovely, lovely property.
So during the interview, Lanzzo was very candid about his health and rode to recovery after missing more than two and a half seasons with multiple knee surgeries, including a cartilage and meniscus transplant.
Zoh spent the first half of last season with the calves where he played in 35 games, including three starts, but put up some of the worst numbers of his career.
He was traded to the jazz at the deadline to give the calves salary cap relief, but immediately waived and did not play the rest of the season.
So you two had a very candid conversation about dealing with major injuries, and Zoh offered these things.
thoughts.
Hoop and I thought everything I got in my life is because of hoop.
So I'm grateful to even make it to the league and do, even be able to play for nine years.
You feel me?
So that's how I look at.
I kind of look at it like halfway full or not halfway empty type of thing.
But I'm also grateful that I got to sign the 82 before the shit happened.
Like that helped a lot too, honestly.
That is speaking truthful.
That's the same thing with mine.
Like I got, I got injured.
I got injured in mine, I had to, I came back two games.
right, thugged it out for two games.
Like, yeah, I told you I'm back.
No, shit.
No, for sure.
Then I got the 11th, then, you know.
I had, like, three surgeries in 14 months.
It was really hard because it's like,
the people you were catching up to,
they're going, and then people behind you
is catching this, like, oh.
It just takes the joy out of, like,
because your game changes.
And then, like, you said,
you see where you're supposed to be,
and then you physically can't get there.
So it's just like,
I don't know, you got to be comfortable with yourself, to be honest with you.
Like, that's how I am. I feel like, to be honest, I don't think I ever got to my peak.
Yeah. And it's like, damn, that shit sucks. But at the same time, there's a lot of people
like that don't have meals at night to eat type shit. That's how I look at the world.
So it's like, damn, I still got to make it up there and got to play and put the jersey on
and do everything I wanted to do as a kid. You know what I? So that was enough for me to be happy.
That's the war ball's oldest boy.
So after outlets took that, as Lonzo saying he was retiring,
Lonzo was quick to shut down the rumors with the following tweet posted on the app,
4 million owners Twitter.
He said, I retired.
News to me, L.O.L.
because I'm still waiting for a call.
NBA season is long.
It is.
It is a long situation.
During the most recent episode of Ball and the Family Pod was dropped,
Tuesday, Zoh reaffirmed that he's not retiring.
We're also admitting that while he's.
not entirely pain free, he still wants to play.
So Gil, got to spend a lot of time in Zoe's house.
You guys talk on camera, off camera.
Very, very good conversation.
But it's good to see that at least Lonzo's in a great place mentally.
That's the most important part, right?
Mentally, he's okay with, you know, his career.
He's okay with, you know, where he is, which is usually when you get injured.
that's the hardest part.
Like coming to grips with,
this might be it,
it might be over,
what am I going to do now?
Right?
So, you know,
he got hurt early in his career.
So, you know,
it just seems like he is in a good place
mentally, spiritually.
So the healing of that need
would be a lot faster for him.
He said he still has pain
But, you know, like with him, his game is going to suffer from a knee injury because it's off of speed and stopping.
Right.
So because he's a, you know, he's an engine, right?
He's moving at all speeds, passing, running.
Like, he's going 100 miles an hour.
So when you're talking about, you know, your knee is sore.
It's going to always hurt him, right, until it settles.
And that might be four years from now before he's like, you know what?
I feel good.
Let's make a return.
That might be one of his things.
So, you know, I'm just glad he's happy and he's not that depressed, you know, athlete who got hurt and they're just sitting there.
Even with the money, just like, what the fuck do I do in my life?
It's ways around it.
You know, it's a new time.
Medicine is constantly evolving.
Maybe she hit PG and have a conversation with him, you know.
PG.
Yeah, he made a bounce back.
He found some medicine
and PG looking good, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
If you can read between the lines, brother,
you know, it's options to, you know,
speed up that process.
So, no, as a guy
that also, you know, went through
injury and I went through injury
literally contract year.
And, you know,
it is a huge mental battle.
Like, and part of that
healing process, part of that recovery process,
is, it's being in a positive place because it may sound, you know, cliche or corny, but
like you said, it plays a part in your body healing.
If you're depressed, if you're stressed out, that's all harmful to the body.
And obviously, if you depressed out, it may lead to alcohol, it may lead to, you know,
whatever that negative vice may be, which also plays a part, you know, on your body healing.
So I think that was a valuable gym, you know, he put out there as far as just being in a positive place because, you know, it can inspire the next person going through the injury that might not have.
And one thing that that pointed out to me was I feel like he has a really good support group around him to be in a place like that to be able to speak that message.
That's credit to the support group.
So like I was saying, it may inspire the next person that doesn't quite have that support group that may feel like.
there, you know, going through that moment by themselves.
So I thought that was a really dope message.
Yeah, I mean, been through injuries as well, surgeries.
And when I heard him talk, it kind of reminded me what one of the PTs told me, because
he had injuries prior to that one.
Like he's had, he's been battle injuries.
And some people's bodies hold up just enough to get to that one contract.
And when you get it, then it's like...
But I think he'll recover, bounce back, hopefully he does.
I know he won't be the same player.
He knows that it's tough.
Mind you, again, this is a kid that I thought was the best in his family at the time
to see your younger brother surpass you or people, you know, consider.
Because if on the trajectory he was going, I thought he would have been saying there
where his brother's at, All-Star, that type of thing.
So I know it's tough mentally to see your peers, you know, surpassed you or guys that
are behind you, even your younger siblings.
But yeah, I mean, he's grateful because I think he knew his body had issues prior to even signing the 82.
And then once he signed the 82, it was kind of, you know.
But, you know, it's good to see that he's in a good mental space.
He's sharing the knowledge, has his platform of the things he's going through and went through of his body, his mind, spirit.
All those come into account when it comes to trying to play a professional sport or anything professionally.
It wears on you.
So, good.
Obviously, Southern California, you from the Valley.
Chino Hills, Inland Empire, but we claim them.
It's close enough.
It's close enough.
Yeah, it's close enough.
Like, if we have, like, the war of states.
Yeah, we're bringing them all in.
We'll bring them.
Inland Empire, Riverside, San Bernardino.
You know, a lot of cities that we kind of rock with.
But if we could turn injuries off, where those Lanzo balls stack up against the best guards,
come out of Southern California?
I thought she was about to say who the best.
I don't know.
I don't know.
First team All-American in college
McDonald's All-American.
Chino is number one high school basketball team in the country
playing with his brother,
Jello, and a young lamello ball
who actually skipped a grade
to play with him as a freshman.
What is he rank?
And he's a rapper.
Out of the brothers?
No, not of the brothers.
Out of the valley.
You know, just out of guards that have come out of
extensive list, Brandon Jennings,
Baron Davis, Gilbert J.
He's the most winning guard out of the state, right?
He's...
Runzo?
No.
How many chips he got?
And what?
The state.
With like state championship?
Oh, I don't know.
Drew Holliday is the one with the championship.
He got the most?
Drew Holliday, got what, two?
The one with the bucks?
And one with the...
No, I'm talking about...
You said who was the best guard to come out of the state?
The Southern California.
He's talking about, like, career, right?
Where does he stack up in high school?
Stack up
High school, college,
yeah,
what is...
Like,
If we turn into...
Have we talking
just high school?
That's what
I'm talking about
high school
championship.
Bro, me and Elijah,
bro, we won two.
It's hard.
It's hard average
30 from the
sophomore year.
30, 30, 30.
30, 30.
What's lines of them?
Him and the brothers,
they got a couple.
I feel like they got like two
Yeah, they got like...
Undefeated,
number one in the country.
Yeah, they were the number one
team in the country.
We talk about that.
35 and all.
And he got a state
championship? How many chips they got?
I think two state, back to backs.
They got a couple.
Hey, bro. And he was like
on social media. That might have been Lamello's
crew, I'm tripping. Him and Zion,
like the start of like the high school highlight tape.
Like, he was... The start.
2016, 35, and now they had
Lonzo, Neangelo, Leandro, Lamello, and O'Nekeka.
Yeah, John Wall. Yeah, John.
Yeah. John.
Yeah.
Shee. B. Jennings.
I didn't have a good chance
to see. He was the first one.
Seventh.
The 7th Woods, a keel card.
I remember, The Crime Stopper.
I remember Lonzo and said Zion, like, those guys were like some of the first to have the big social media.
And then, of course, his dad was like, you know, pushing it.
And that's how his dad was like, you know, he's number one pick.
He was almost number one.
So I think Lonzo won one state championship.
I think they proceeded to win a couple more.
Like the best career, like just basketball.
And we turn injuries off just looking at.
It'd probably be Westbrook or James Martin.
But roll the ball out, put Lonzo.
The whole career.
Hawaii.
His whole like, just body.
I'm not even talking about NBA
career, obviously.
Does Fiji not count?
Palmdale, yeah, we, you know, we embrace it.
J.K., Gary Payton.
This is a conversation.
A lot of people didn't move from L.A. to Palmdale back in the day.
Is this always what top 20?
That's a hard.
I'm just saying you put him in that mix
looking at what he's able to do.
You turn injuries off.
We've got to look at it.
We've got to look at a helping.
I don't know.
He could have.
Now you turn that Baron Davis's injuries off.
That's a goddamn motherfucker.
Oh.
You turn Kauai's injuries off.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
But he's, to me, a different type of guard than BD, Brandon Jennings.
More of like a J-Kid.
More of a distributor.
He drew the Jason Kid comparisons.
He was basically like the J-Kid of South Carolina.
Jordan Farmer is love and respect.
He went to high school right down the street from him.
That's my group.
That's my, that's my-vali-D-Wing.
We're the Valley Group.
I run that.
I run now.
I run now.
Only person who can argue will be Drew Holiday.
I'm like, all right, man.
Okay.
All right.
You know what?
Other than that, I run the rest of them.
Yeah.
That's a tough list to come up with.
Now, is it.
No, no, no.
The California guards is a good list.
I'm just trying to get Lanzos.
Sully, let's pull up to the house.
Yeah.
I'm just, he's somewhere in the top ten.
I just don't think people would appreciate.
The 80s and them 90s.
I mean, as team, like his, I mean,
what they was doing in Chino for us to hear about them.
For Chino Hymns to be nationally around.
I mean, I don't think people just understand how ridiculous that is.
Yeah.
Right.
They did their thing.
I ain't know a lot.
They did their thing.
But let's get to the other side of it.
So the Ball family produced two lottery picks
and a burgeoning hip-hop legend.
With LaVar Ball playing a huge part in his kid's success.
While being hands-on with them on both the sports and business side.
Wasn't perfect.
Made mistakes along the way.
Passing up a major shoe deal to launch his own company,
Big Baller brand,
which I own many shirts still.
A lot of people look at the shoes
and kind of rush in the market with those
and having Lanzo wear those as a part of
and even Lanzo admit that they may have had something to do
with the cause of his leg
and knee injuries later in his career.
Like I said, Lerard didn't always make the best decisions
but came from a good place.
Try to be a strong... He didn't wear him enough.
Did he wear him enough? No, he didn't.
But that, you know.
It's hard to even believe that myth
when we had guys in the 70s and 80s
hooping and low chuk,
like...
No.
If you can play in that shoe, you can play in any shoe.
But it brings a bigger question.
It just comes with a little, like, little clear sack with white powder in it.
That's what the Chuck's key with.
Your little Chuck, a little that, you little pack of white powder and a razor blade.
All you needed back in the day.
Just in case, be ready for anything that went down.
But when you look at the slander that LeVar got for some of the, you know, I mean,
just.
Slender about who?
Just square media.
He got praise.
where I'm from.
Yeah, but that's
bringing my point,
but did he deserve
all the slander
and criticism he got?
Hell no, man.
Hell no.
Nah, he pushed them.
I think in one part
I saw a quote from you
back in the day
was like, I don't know
who Lanz or is,
I know who Lovar is, though.
I fuck with Lavoor.
I told him that personally.
Like, hell yeah.
Now, he was a father
that actually put
positivity
vibes into
to the kids, right?
He believed in his kids
so much he wanted the world
to believe in them.
And, you know,
that's why all three of them
are successful.
because he's going to believe.
As long as he believe, you've got to believe.
Right?
And that's something that you usually didn't see a lot growing up.
Right.
If you mess up on the court, you know, it's, oh, this is what I got to deal with.
Like, the negativity of what you did bad was always pushed forward.
He pushed all positivity, right?
Like, you know, Lonzo had a bad first game.
Lonzo don't have two bad games in a row.
He's going to have a triple-dum.
double next game.
Right.
They had a triple double the next game.
Right?
Publicly.
Publicly.
But probably behind closed doors.
Yeah.
He is holding them accountable.
You need to do this, this, and this.
Public is the best part, though.
Right.
Is that I mean?
I mean, if your father has confidence for you,
how can you not have that confidence in yourself?
So I think he did it.
I mean, he didn't.
He's the male version of Chris Jenner,
basketball.
Chris who?
Jenner.
Chris Jenner.
Kardashian.
mom.
What I mean?
He's not going to show no...
You're not going to see no, no, no scratch in his armor here.
Like he's a professional, he's a great marketer.
He's a promotion.
That's what Chris Jenna does for the daughters.
Joe Jackson without the belt, without the sex tape.
Yeah, we're not, I'm not saying that.
I was a little bit of, no.
I'm not going to the tape.
I'm just saying...
Hey, Jello, Jimenez.
Jello, Mike going on.
Hey, Jello, hey, listen.
That's the wild one right there.
Jellel on.
I love that dude too, baby.
Mostly fans on a different
platform of the own.
Like when you're talking about like families.
Only physical.
Like you know what?
They were like the pastoral family.
King Henry.
King Henry, when you actually
the rest of the world didn't like him.
But when you're talking about
someone who believed in the child
and only positivity.
You're not going to say nothing negative.
You ain't going to make her thing nothing negative.
Right?
She says she's going to whip her ass.
She's going to whip her ass.
Stop asking the questions about it.
Right.
And the confidence that gives the child is so important.
Because to get into those next levels is all mental.
When you're talking about Michael Jordan,
mental.
Kobe, mental, right?
When you're talking about the next Brunson, mental shit,
like it's the mind that is unbroken.
So when you're talking about a father that's showing his child that,
showing, hey, listen, no matter what the world is going to say,
beat him, be better, triple, like, and he did it, he did it.
He did it.
He's a master promoter, man.
Master marketer and subconsciously putting another.
pressure on them to have to live up to that.
Big Baller brand was a movement.
It still is.
You live under the pressure of your father.
You can live in any money.
They still got the store out there.
It still got the store out there.
It still is nice.
It still has a big-ass building over there.
I was like, they still got that shit off.
They ran it up.
And the best part about it is, they are separated.
Doing their own thing.
Right.
There's going to be a time when they all start coming together.
Oh, absolutely.
And when they do, it's going to be trouble.
And for lack of a better word,
Balanzo kind of the guinea pig for all this.
first time dealing with all this stuff.
Sure, mistakes were made along the way.
But even from Lonzo standpoint, we got to talk to him a little bit.
Now you got Lamello following in those footsteps.
Lamello kind of forging his own path going with Puma, doing a lot of stuff differently.
Yeah, you know what's so funny, I think that Lanzo was a guinea pig to then understand
what his father was seeing, but then use his personality to make him.
make things happen.
Right?
Like, you know,
like Lamello's deal with Puma.
That's coming from Zoe.
Hey, make sure we're going to do this.
We're going to do that.
Right?
So, same thing with Jello.
That's Zoh.
So he's taken on the person.
He's taking on the business side of
Pops.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Selling it is Pops.
Right?
Like to sell it, like, you know,
the first one that's going to put the song out,
it's going to be Pops.
Right.
Right.
So it's like when they get together, they're gonna be,
well, shout out to,
Big Ball family, jealous.
Shout out to LaVore, man.
Lamello Ball, one of the bigger rock stars.
If you watched our Facebook lives way back in the day,
you knew he was going to be a while.
He was going to be a pretty,
the interesting dude when you picked it, got older,
but let's keep this thing moving.
Like I mentioned, we got Mosy fans back.

Peace.
Is there an epidemic against literature?
More specifically, black literature.
Our books are being banned, scanned by AI, and destroyed.
I'm Jack Weiss Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Blacklit podcast, we're outside asking some of the
custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern-day writers.
Why?
They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, Michael Maxes, and Martin Luther King's running around.
And considering this is Black Reading Month,
the only real question is,
what are you reading next?

Did you think you were the only one? No matter what you did, it was never good enough for your mother.
Yeah.
I'm Jennifer Arnese, and we're talking about that and more on the Black Mother Wound podcast.
We rush to accommodate other people when we have been hurt and we have not healed.
Our hurt has not been healed.
We're going there.
On the Black Mother Wound podcast, we center the stories of black women as we heal and unpack

Nobody got green on today.
I'm going to chat.
How you like that?
I had my hoodie looking crazy.
When he was in the back.
Blunt right in.
We've got mostly fans.
Let me pull up our super chat.
We've got some good donations going in here.
The first question is
from user at Real Ready
said, what happened to nepotism?
Why can't we get Bo Boe Bo on the
Washington roster? That is a great question, Real Ready.
Wait, wait, wait.
That's so far.
What happened to nepotism, Danny? Why can't we
get Bo Bo?
Early, early.
Manuble, legend, though.
Like,
Genu.
Manute is like,
was it, the 80s, 90s?
No disrespect, but didn't
Manute Ball passed?
Manuio passed away,
but did play for the Washington.
Bullets at that point.
What year was it?
Bullets?
So the bullets again,
it was the 80s?
Hold on, let me see.
It was a different time.
We were thriving and flourishing.
Shout out to Manu Bo, legend.
How was Bobo?
He's your...
So he played with the bullets
from 95 to 88,
then again in 1994.
88 to 95?
So,
excuse me,
85 to 88
and then again
in 1994.
Okay.
Two stints.
Okay.
Bobo.
And how was Bobo?
26 years old.
She was born in 2000.
So Manu had him
was really a lot older.
I don't know why he got in league.
Why do Timberwolves not looking at him?
I don't know why he's not in league.
Why?
Talent wise.
Yeah.
Minnesota could pick him up for cheap.
Minnesota could.
You need some depth.
We need Bobo.
And the NBA's better
where Bobo's there
I'll just say that
You're talking about a guy
Who can do everything
I don't know
What is the stigma
Like
If it's something we can talk about
I just heard
Different things
Yeah
Childhood
Trauma that is affecting them now
Okay
It's like
I don't know
Not really
Super intentional
And how he does things
I guess
He's Bobo
He's not meant to be understood
Yeah
Yeah
It's a corporate word
They'll find something
to dislike.
Yeah.
Got the same name twice.
That's how nice.
The game was.
But let's keep this thing moving.
So we got a question from,
and we got some all-reliables here on the Supertrak.
I want to shout out at the Wizard underscore end.
At the Wizard Inn.
After the moves this summer and barring injuries,
how do y'all see the Western conferences playoff seating
one through eight?
And who do y'all see Portland moving?
Let me look at this.
And scoot and Drew, maybe.
Oh, true.
Oh.
Yeah, I can see Drew.
But how do we see the seating?
1 through 8.
Or just kidding me.
It's going healthy.
It's going to San Antonio OKC, right?
1 and 2.
I'm going to say San Antonio gets 1 this year.
OKC 2.
I'm going to go either Denver, Houston, 3, and 4.
Could flip-flop.
I put Denver at 4.
I put Houston at 3.
Mm.
I'm going to put Minnesota,
Lakers at 5 and 6.
six.
Ooh.
Luca.
They say
one through eight, right?
The Wizard End did ask for?
Those are my top six right there.
But they only put $5 in the offering place,
even if you want to just cut it at six.
So yeah, those are my top six.
Outside of that,
who am I missing that might sneak in?
I think that's going to go from
worse to pretty good.
I think Utah could be up in the plane.
I think Utah could be in there too.
Utah. Phoenix will be in the plane
for sure.
Clippers possibly playing.
The players are a good squad.
They do, but Brandon Ingram is also out.
Oh, he got the partial Achilles.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Tough time for the Los Angeles Clippers.
So yeah, that's my top six right there.
I don't know if there's anybody that I'm missing.
Buggy.
I would go San Antonio O KC.
I'm putting Minnesota at third.
I go Houston fourth.
fourth, Denver fifth, Lakers, six.
I would go Phoenix seven, and I'm going to go out on a limb and go Utah, eight.
Yeah, I like that seven, eight.
I'm not going to lie to Phoenix, Phoenix, Utah.
I think Golden State could possibly.
Could sneak up in seven and eight.
Steph seemed to be very offended by people who didn't think that they were a
playoff team. He should be offended by his coach
who constantly
says they're not good enough.
Don't be mad at us.
Jimmy's back. He's running off the town.
Jimmy's back for the start of the season?
We'll see.
I'm pretty sure he's going to be out for a little bit,
right? As far as he's...
As far as knee,
midway through the season last year, so I'm assuming
he's going to come back in the way through the season this year.
Yeah, I think they got a chance to get in.
It's clear for light on-court activities
like running and dunking.
Light on. So he'll be back
Christmas.
They last.
Okay.
He's Christmas.
They're not going to mid-blah.
It's going to be tough.
But they'll have to return around January or February.
Two different months.
He may be back for Black History Month.
I mean, just looking at, I don't think it's more so their talent that are getting me,
and I'm thinking that I'm looking at the rest of the township West.
Yeah.
So, playoffs by default?
Almost, yeah.
Okay.
I mean, you're all a step-currie.
I like that Phoenix, Utah, 7-8.
Outside of that.
Gilbert Arena's Jr.
You know, New Orleans.
Portland.
Portland.
Portland can get to make changes.
Portland can get to the 7-8.
I think that was, yeah, the wizard ends.
Got Danny.
Danny's good.
What's Klinging in?
They got too many guards with scoot, drew, dame, and Jha.
Somebody has to get them.
That's not a real bad problem to have, though.
We ain't saying that about this.
Philly got 12 point guards.
But they're 6-7 guards.
They're bigger guards.
I'm talking about the Simmons,
LeBaron Phileone, KCP.
Oh, 6, 6, 6.67.
Jaws, like 62, names, like school.
Who's 6.7?
Anthony Simons is 6-7?
6-6.
No, he's not.
KC, 6-6.
He's 6-3 at most.
He won a dump contest.
He jumped. He's athletic.
He can jump.
That don't mean he's tall.
He played like he's 6-6-6-7.
6-3 has a 6-9 wingspan.
No.
K-C-P.
K-C-6-4.
But he got the long hard, bro.
Casey 6-5.
Come on, bro.
He's a taller guard.
You're talking about jaw, damn, to a case.
How tall his jaw?
Like six feet.
God's like six two, six three.
I thought he was six two, six three.
He's a little guard.
Scoot, Jai, Deng.
No, he's a fernie guard.
He's not a short guard.
They're a little, man.
Jai 62, but a six, seven wingspin.
Six two with his shoes on off?
They're a little.
It does not specify.
I know you like to add into.
Scoot is short.
They're a smaller guard.
Oh, Scoot 63, 6, 4.
These are smaller guards.
All I'm saying is it's similar.
Tmetreus, Jamel Morin.
Better than on his jaw.
Good, do you have a top eight?
I see you.
Yeah, we're waiting on your top eight.
I didn't realize how down the West was.
Down?
What?
You got OKC, San Antonio,
fighting for one or two.
Right.
Then you have...
You got Minnesota at three?
One, I would take...
I would take OKC than Spurs.
Okay.
Depending on, you know, what they're doing with Wimby.
Yeah, helpful.
So I go
OKC Spurs.
Then I'm going to go
Minnesota.
A three.
Houston.
Denver.
Seameless as book.
Lakers.
Six.
Utah.
Utah.
Seven.
Phoenix.
Phoenix.
Eight.
Same.
Basically,
Yeah, same.
Just a flip-flop Utah.
Uh.
Let's see the Golden State or Clippers.
Nine and ten don't matter.
You got eight.
You got eight.
The rest is down.
It's just the East got better.
That's a lot of talent, though.
Yeah, East got better.
Like, what's so funny is one through six?
It's legit.
To possibly win a championship.
Yeah.
One through five.
One through four.
Yeah.
You're fucking with the Lakers?
Denver.
Yeah, Lakers, that's six.
I don't think we're right.
That's what I'm saying.
Lakers don't have a chance.
To win a champ?
But they got Luca.
Okay.
Next question is for Marcus Thompson 301.
Who y'all picking Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippin
versus LeBron James and D. Wade in a two-on-two?
It's not even good matchup.
It's not.
But I'm going.
I'm going to go on.
He pays sufficient funds to get the question asked.
I'm going to Mike and Scotty.
Mike and Scotty.
Look at who you think is winning that two-on-two?
I go Mike Scottie.
You're talking about the best defenders in history of the game.
I mean, yeah, DeVeigh, we regarded by
Pip.
My Mike, I would think
Piping Gar and Brown.
Pippin Gar and Brown.
Yeah, bigger guards.
Didn't that work?
6-9.
You wouldn't put Piping on Brown?
I put Pippin on Dway and Wade
because he's going to be the one
that's going to try to cause all the action
and then pass the ball and that's moving.
I'm taking Jordan and Pippin.
One because you're talking about two first team
all defensive players.
I'm saying the best defensive players in the history of the game.
And it can.
If they were switching.
And they can score.
Yeah.
From Jordan Glazing on the Lord's one.
Yeah, that's just like...
Yeah, I don't...
I'm not taking LeBron James into two-on-two.
Like, he just doesn't have...
I don't even like to...
He just doesn't have the...
Brown doesn't like to play one-on-one, but...
Brown plus one, you never know.
Yeah, that's not his game.
So we got a question from Jason Metz, Nets, Jets.
He asked the question yesterday.
He said, Boogie.
Nets fan from yesterday.
Can you elaborate more on if we were interested
and why we didn't pick you?
I told you why Doug Collins wasn't.
Doug Collins didn't want me.
I think the organization was interested in me.
Collins wasn't.
At that time?
Did you want to play for the Nets is what he wants to know?
What year was this?
What year was this?
2010, I wanted to play for the Pistons, to be honest.
So that was the only team that I was like I want to go there.
But otherwise, I was just happy to be drafted.
All right.
Basically our version of mailbag with the super check.
When you came up, did you actually go against anybody else?
I worked out against Derek Favors maybe three times throughout the process.
That was it?
I mean, he was only of the big in the top five.
Okay.
And, I mean, we've been matched up by our entire, like, since babies, bro.
It's always been me and him.
So, I mean, yeah, I thought what I got back was they thought Favors would be a better fit
next to Spencer Halls.
Which I'm totally okay.
What pick did Detroit have that year?
Seven.
I went five.
Okay.
I fought with Scott Perry, Joe Dumas.
Like, super relatable.
Felt comfortable around, you know.
Who was it big then?
In Detroit.
Who did they pick?
They ended up going with Greg Monroe.
Moose.
Oh, that's that group.
Is that Stucky?
Stuckie was there.
Okay, that's it.
Yeah.
I think Ben and them,
Because when I went on my visit, Ben and then was literally in the locker.
Yeah, Ben, that was Brandon Juniors then.
No, B. Brandon came later.
He went to Milwaukee for him.
He went to Milwaukee first.
He was drafted by Milwaukee.
What draft was that?
If I'm 10, he was 08.
08, 09, 09.
He was my draft class.
His high school class is away.
He was stuck in the end of it.
He didn't go to school.
He went overseas.
He's 09 class.
So Drew Gotti Fitness said, who's a player each of you wish you played with during your career?
in all time.
So who's a play you wish you played with during your career?
I mean, I got to just to play with all of them, honestly.
All right.
Was there any others lingering that you said?
Others that I'm like, if I could play with him.
All time or just like.
Let's go all the time since you did pretty much play with damn to everybody.
I mean, I mean, you think about the point guards that, you know,
could really see the floor, like the J-Kids we were talking about.
Steve Nash is, they really enhanced the other guys' games.
In today's game, you would think of like a Yokic or even a Wembe, being a, you know, me
being a defensive guy.
I could just be on a perimeter and send everybody to him.
But yeah, I got a chance to play with all the guys that I wanted to play with.
One guy that I did want to play with and I got the chance who was Rondo.
Yeah.
I got Rondo late.
We got him late.
Kobe was recruiting me to the Lakers when CupChack was still there.
So I was all about that having a chance to play with being.
I mean, even the fact that I was on his radar was the ultimate compliment for me.
But, you know, around that time it was DeLo and some more of those younger guys with the group Cupchak didn't want to make that deal.
And they eventually let them go to deal fell apart.
So, Cobb, obviously.
This is a weird one, but I felt like he complimented.
He would have been a great complimentary piece to me in his prime, OKC years,
but Sergei Baca.
I thought he would have helped elevate my game.
Cover up a lot of my shortcomings as far as, you know,
what I can bring on the floor.
I think he would have been a great complimentary piece to me.
And Jimmy Butler, I was recruiting him to Sacramento.
They thought otherwise. I always thought he was a winning player. We match. And the ultimate one was Russ, Russ Westbrook. And the night I got traded to New Orleans at the All-Star game, that was after the All-Star game. Before the All-Star game, me and Russ Lockers were next to each other. And, you know, Russ was on me. Like, bro, I'm trying to get you okay. See Presti on the phone right now. And I mean, I've talked about this story before, but I was in the process. Well, I had a hand.
handshake agreement on my extension.
So I'm like, oh, bro, it's over with it.
Like, sign of my extension, I'm going to be in sack.
Let's figure it out later.
So I ended up, I mean, in that moment, if I knew what was happening after the game,
I would have, you know, jumped on that opportunity.
I think playing with a guy like Russ would have also elevated my game as well.
So I would say those guys.
Mike Collins is another one that we almost had a chance, San Antonio, but before he signed
that big deal, he's another guy that I probably would have definitely loved to hoop.
Get who you got
Dennis Rob, man
You get a rebound, give it to me
Take the fucking ball
Right, you know what I mean?
I'm the average 29 of game
I don't need nobody on shooting
I don't know what y'all talking about
I need a rebounder, fighter
Get the ball out of balance
We got.
I have one more year
I would want to play with Yolkich
Because just how Murray is
Right, I can move without the ball
Backscree or somebody like a curry
someone else who can shoot, dive.
Yeah, that goal state, that going to stay,
the system would have been nice as a shooter to play in.
I had a Boston,
that Boston Seltzer group with Paul Pierce K.G.
And they were recruiting the fuck out of me as a young boy.
You would have fit right.
Oh, I would have, I think that would have been right.
My entire career.
Being around some Hall of Fame vets, like,
really got a culture, like,
got plenty of young, you know, players that came underneath him.
I think that would have been great for it.
I would have been legendary.
Hell yeah.
Well, that was mostly fans.
