Yeah, I will be too if I was you. All right. I mean, we need some new highlights, man. We need some more highlights, man. What those are? I'm done seeing these, man, for real. You tired of them already? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Yeah, I will be, too, if I was you. I got buckets, man. So, I mean, you can have loads of different prefixes. Different intros with different high notes? Different intros, buckets. The same song, though, right? The song is hard. They go by team by team, though.
Starting point is 00:02:23 They said they were team by team. Team by team. Team by team. Team by team. They said that's all the highlights that they've been having. That's it. That's it? That's the only package they put out.
Starting point is 00:02:32 And they also wanted me to ask you, did you notice that Tony Brothers is literally in the first frame of that? Who's on with Tony Brothers? I'm just letting you know. He's lurking. He's just always there. Ready to trick a game off.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Welcome back to Gil's Arena, presented by Underdog Fantasy. Bad rap out in the street, huh? Joined as always by the Legend Gilbert Arenas. We got Rashad McKenzie in the building. We got Miko Grimes coming back on the couch. And we got Kenya Martin
Starting point is 00:02:56 on this lovely Wednesday. Is this Kenya Martin Wednesday? Now you pull up kind of whenever. Whenever you pull up, we ready. I'm ready. I'm lit. I'm lit. I was in the area, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:03:11 So I had to stop by. We appreciate you. So we got some things to cover today. Adam Silver says the league was too physical in the late 90s, but is it too soft now? Jimmy Butler trademarked Hemi buckets and was offering up heat finals tickets before the playoffs even started. Hmm It's that confidence coffee t-shirt you rock and write. Thank you. Appreciate it. Oh with this In a ref gets busted for it is alleged burner account, you know, we got to talk about that because it definitely impacted these Lakers some might say ruin the season, but that's not the new one there.
Starting point is 00:03:45 That game could have been a different thing. That game could have been a different thing. We're not going to do that. We just lost. Let's talk about it. What I said that day to you, listen, you're like a Cowboy fan. Me being a Cowboys fan, you're worse than us. Like, Lakers fans, y'all bad.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Y'all bad. You're just going to pull them out'all bad. No, no. Y'all bad. Cowboys fans are the worst. You just gonna pull them out of the air. The Clippers are the worst enough. No, the Cowboys are definitely the worst. They think they're going to the Super Bowl every single year. I don't. Okay, so you're not one of them.
Starting point is 00:04:14 I'm an honest Cowboys fan. Okay, then you're different. You're not like- That's a different- Wayne Dennis is up in high school. I've been in high school a long time. But the fans always think this is y'all year every year. I was a junior in high school, bro.
Starting point is 00:04:26 You like, I'm old enough to say that. Long time ago. Long time. No, I got him. My daddy's a Cowboy fan. But yeah, Lakers fan, so you just going to throw that like, that the man doing that with his burner kind of affected the Lakers? Really?
Starting point is 00:04:39 I'm just, that Celtics game in the regular season could have, the butterfly effect, it set us on a trajectory and a course. Which oughta been a six seed instead of a seven seed. You would have finagled it. Third seed, who knows. Straight to the sweet. Straight to the sweep that shit up under the goddamn table.
Starting point is 00:04:55 So y'all would have lost the first round instead of. Westbrook wouldn't have had D'Angelo, Russ, he shit could have, you know what I mean? Austin Reeves would have still been there. Cool. Playing over Russ Book. Cool, we wouldn't have had D'Angelo. You know what I mean? You know? Austin Reeves would have still been there. Cool. Playing over Russ Book. No.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Cool. We wouldn't have had D'Angelo. You don't like D'Angelo. We wouldn't have had Mr. Full Points. We don't like D'Lo. No, we'd have had D'Lo for the first two rounds. We needed him for the first two rounds. Move the cold post.

It don't matter. It don't be a team. It's a team win, bro. I said, yeah, Gil, let them know. I thought Gil was losing. No, we winning. I was losing, but for the audience, I'm a winner. Starting point is 00:07:19 Simple man. Nice. He's a black owned company here. OK. This black owned too. No. Me. He said me. Me. Okay. This black on to know me. Me. And it's me.
Starting point is 00:07:29 We already got a good most fans question. They say Gil coffin after that first hit off that 10k pack or not. I'm gonna say yes. Yes. You gotta pull it hard though. You can't do the baby pool. No bill. He know what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:07:42 He doesn't smoke before he never smoked. They don't know I smoke every day. I was gonna start practicing just in case. pool. No Bill Clinton. He know what he doing. He done smoked before. He ain't done smoked before. They don't know I smoke every day. I was going to start practicing just in case. Let me go and practice a little bit. Don't want to get in bed.
Starting point is 00:07:56 That would be why. And as a reminder to everybody out there, you can get audio versions of Gil's Arena on Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts. Now, Gil, we're trying to really run this back up. Spotify, yes. Get that Pat McAfee back. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:08:09 So we can all eat good, live good. We can all have our own custom Agent Zero. Fire. So if you can't watch the show, go ahead, rock with the audio. That's the gist of it. Spotify. Before we start the regular show, the actual, the meat of the show, the NBA, pop culture, all that shit,
Starting point is 00:08:28 we got to talk about something that I saw yesterday that was quite concerning. If you use social media, you know that some things need to be left in the drafts. Josh Hart has tweeted some questionable things in the past, but this tweet he dropped Tuesday may take the cake. He asked, have y'all ever tasted y'all's significant other's breast milk? Ask it for a friend. Oh, I can't wait to hear this. I think that friend was Josh Hart. Yeah, so Hart's teammate and close friend, Jalen Brunson, had to unfollow him. The entire internet proceeded to pack him up.
Starting point is 00:08:56 CJ McCollum randomly showed some support for Hart. Said, sick conversation. Heard it goes down like almond milk. To which Hart replied, not gonna lie, bro. It's better Good will start with you. I got another Got another he must have just had a kid right is obviously have you ever tried breast milk as an adult? Yes, of course you try breast milk as an adult Yes
Starting point is 00:09:20 Any father that stay with the girl? Do you win it at any? You have kids? Do we shot? Do we shot? You have kids? Josh Hart's wife had twins earlier this month. Yeah, so I'm pretty sure, yeah. But you drinking titty milk? I mean, you ain't drinking like the baby, but I mean.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Cambodian or regular? You gonna suck it out? Gilbert, you drinking the breast milk out here? You out here drinking breast milk? I can't say I never tasted breast milk before I do have five kids I'm a milk you agree. No, I have no idea what y'all talking I'm a milk that's six kids. You don't know what's going on. And I have no idea what y'all talking about.
Starting point is 00:10:07 This is my problem with all y'all. I just wanted to make sure. You guys, I'm pretty. I would bet money. I would bet money that all of y'all eat dairy. Am I right? I'm honest about it. No.
Starting point is 00:10:17 You don't eat dairy. You're lying. I know there's dairy in that coffee. No. I do. You don't eat cheese. No. He's lying.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Gilbert, I know you do. You do. I eat cheese? No. I do. You lying. Gilbert, I know you do, you do, you do. I eat cheese, yeah. You will drink a stranger cow's titty milk, but not a woman that had your kids? I said I never had. So you're not saying it's disgusting or nothing?
Starting point is 00:10:34 Not at all, but it's just something that, if right after my wife, we got two kids together, I got older kids, I understand the process. You ain't never been serious? No, not never. Just like, put it. Not the process. No, not at all You can even squirt it like you don't literally squirt
Starting point is 00:10:54 Nah son, we're not we're not John Drake cows milk that's son Watermelon to cows milk, but I'm on mil in two. Cows milk. Come on. You don't even know that cow. I have five kids. You don't even know that cow. And I got six. You don't know that cow. You don't know where that cow's been. I hear you. If it has mastices.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I'm with you. Anything. I'm with you. I'm pasteurized. Louis Pasteur. I'm with you. Some women don't have breasts until they have a baby, so that's just something new for you. Oh, you got the extras now.
Starting point is 00:11:20 You got the extras now. I got to go in. You got the extras. But my thing is, when you first come home, I'm letting you relax. I'm not bothering you. I'm letting you be you. I understand what the man said. Listen, if you do this, you're going to have another one in nine.
Starting point is 00:11:40 We're not doing none of that. We ain't touching you. I ain't touching you when you come home. I'm not touching you when you come home. I'm not touching you when you come home. I'm not touching you when you come you. I ain't touching you when you come home. I'm not touching you when you come home. Go freeze the lettuce, cabbage, whatever it is and get that shit up out of there. You know what I'm saying? Oh man, I check my ass.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Dry that thing up now. I got my own. Dry that thing up now. I take my own titty milk. He's like, what is it? He's like, what is it? I'm with you, but. What about me and my kid would make me drink titty milk? Yo, Syed. I take my own titty milk.
Starting point is 00:12:11 You gotta taste it. You gotta taste it for the kid. I never had. I never had. Never dabbled, never. But that's your motherly duty. It's called mother's milk for a reason. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:19 That's really what it is. For the mama. Some dudes still hooked on them. Pina colada. You talking about? First of all, you was raised by your mama, so obviously you had it's the milk for the mama He said a dog mama drink the milk I'm sorry, you know when
Starting point is 00:12:34 When she started off with uh, was it eight cups B cups is the little ones? Yeah, and then you know, she has baby and then now she got some these Sorry You right to it soon. Come she come home. She's new. This is new right here. This is all new to me. This is before the end plans. Yeah, I'm... I'm doing it.
Starting point is 00:12:55 So, gotta ask everybody on this couch. I should honestly say, nah. What's the nastiest thing you've seen a teammate do that you feel comfortable sharing on Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Fantasy? Wait, do or eat? Do, eat, anything. Is anything in that...
Starting point is 00:13:10 Teammate or just... Like you ain't gotta get names. No, no, no, no. We never had a teammate do nothing like nasty, but we had a staff member after the shower, he put his foot on the sink and then used the hair blower to dry his balls.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Dry his balls? Dry his balls off. Wait, is his balls out or he got dry? Yeah, just butt naked, just sitting. He be like, come on, man. You know, nobody had hair, so nobody used a blow dryer. He just sitting there just blow drying just right there. In front of everybody.
Starting point is 00:13:41 In front of everybody. Oh my God. That was his thing. Yep. So I... We came in one night and we all were in my room and we wild, man. Like I had one teammate, one nigga was taking a shit, the other nigga was pissing in the sink.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Okay. Oh my God. Is this that urgent? Is this that urgent? We gotta throw the towel in on this. Needless to say, I called in and said, like, yo, can I get another room? Y'all got anything else available? We gotta throw the towel in. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:14:09 We gotta throw the towel in on this segment. That is wild. That's wild. These boys wild, man. Listen. I don't even like to be in the bathroom with somebody with a number two. I've had some wild teammates over times, man. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:14:17 I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. That's that's why you boys Wow
Starting point is 00:14:32 Last Wow teammates over times man. No, no, no, that's some that's some funny shit when you were a teen You do some you do some good Suspect shit as a group as a group. What do you mean by my mentality like you like that? Like it'd be like. Exactly that. That's suspect. Y'all nasty. Like weird. All right, well let's.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Yeah. Yeah. Right here. What's happening? He got nothing to say. He got the confidence. Oh, man. I mean, I got, I mean.
Starting point is 00:14:59 My rookie year got rookie hazed. And one of the vets put a like he with a chick and he was trying to school me on the bus about some pimping like you know how to get the girls and stuff and he ended up like leaving a used tampon on my door when I woke up in the morning that's me that's me yeah and then he to talk about some some of the stuff on the bus afterwards. He's a European, by the way. So you had to touch it to open your... to get out of it?
Starting point is 00:15:28 No, it was on the outside of the door. When I walked out, I was like, what the fuck? He was like, yeah, young fella, congratulations. Congratulations on what? On what? You made it. He was like, you made it. You made it.
Starting point is 00:15:40 You made it? You made it through the hazing. Congratulations. It was like right after training camp. I'm not running. Not me neither. That's rough. Yeah, we gonna fight, Amy. Yeah, it was the hazing. Congratulations. It was like right after training camp. I'm not rolling. Not me neither. That's rough. Yeah, we gonna fight. Yeah, it was one of them. It was like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:15:49 Yeah, we gonna fight. I'm a rookie or not. Yeah, we gonna come from the shoulders, dog. What the fuck is this? Let me out at you, man. Nasty. And I bet it stinks. Yeah, it was nasty. I didn't know what it was. Oh, that's awful. Well, let's, yeah, we gotta keep this thing moving.
Starting point is 00:16:02 That's awful. The chat not feeling it. Oh, that's, yeah, yeah, that's awful. this thing moving. That's all the chat not feeling The chat has spoken yes, they they should The chat has spoken but you talked about balls earlier, right we got to talk about some more serious subject we got a lot of ball That's a okay, but I get it I get it oh my bad I'm gonna get that's Paul. That's a, okay, but I get it, I get it. Oh my bad, I'm gonna get some AOs and all that. I'll be thinking sometimes. I'll be thinking about it. Whose man is this?
Starting point is 00:16:29 Whose man is this? They gonna hit me with the camera on, but it's all good. Give me a whole new shirt to make, boy. But gotta get some serious stuff for, you know, Lonzo Ball, future in the league remains uncertain. Ball underwent cartilage transplant surgery back in March with the hopes that it would give him the best chance to return to the court. Lonzo hasn't played since January 2022.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I think he's had like three surgeries since then, and he was aiming to be the first NBA player to return after undergoing the cartilage transplant procedure. But it was expected to miss most, if not all, of next season. Now there's a report from 670 to Scores, Dan Bernstein, that privately the Bulls believe that Lonzo may never play again. So first question, was it wrong for the Bulls to let that private information become public? Because when you say privately, and I'm seeing it in the tweet
Starting point is 00:17:18 that literally everybody can see, it's like it's not private no more. Yeah, I mean, they want that information to get out. So they can try to figure out how to get out of the contract where they can't. But what did he hurt? He tore his meniscus or something. It was something small. It's supposed to be out like short time.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Yeah. It was like a meniscus. Initial knee surgery is supposed to be like six to eight weeks. It was a meniscus. A meniscus tear? It's not like a microfracture to me. They don't do microfracture anymore. It was a meniscus. A meniscus tear. It sounded like a micro fracture to me. They don't do micro fracture anymore. So therefore they, maybe they should.
Starting point is 00:17:48 They stopped that. Trust me, they stopped doing it. I had two of them, trust me. I had one too. I had dope. And maybe you should try it, cause it builds cartilage. How about that?
Starting point is 00:17:58 Definitely does. No, no, no. They said that right there ruined everybody's career. Yeah, like at least eight. No, they said 100% everybody. When did you have it? I had one on each knee, dawg. When? What year?
Starting point is 00:18:11 In Denver, bruh. I had microfracture on each knee. Hold on, Superman. Okay, having a 45-inch vertigo and going down to 40... I had microfracture on each knee. It's cool for you, but when you got 38 and you dropped down to motherfucking JJ Redick But I'm just saying I had microfracture on each
Starting point is 00:18:32 Like I went to the guy so let me so let me so The doctor that created dr. Stanton he created Michael Franks. Mm-hmm. He did my second one on my right knee I went to the man that the man the man Nobel Peace Prize winner all that He created Michael Frack's thing. He did my second one on my right knee. I went to the man that demanded me. Nobel Peace Prize winner, all that. So he went and fixed the correction. We fixed my left knee that was botched by the team doctor. The team doctor botched my shit too.
Starting point is 00:18:59 So he went and fixed that, cleaned that up, and did all that. So I had both, man. Damn. I played again. I should have able to, I had both man. Damn. I played again. I should have went to that and then go right there man. But what I'm saying is you go from a 45 to a 40. Yeah. Right, that's five inches.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Yeah. Right, no, everybody else that affects them. All the regular people. That affects everybody else. Oh, it did. No, a lot of people didn't play again. Like a lot of people's career was definitely affected. Some of the greats, we don't know what they would have been without that surgery.
Starting point is 00:19:26 You know what I'm saying? I'm going to interrupt you, but you said you had a 38-inch vertical? I had 38. According to your vertical jump at the combine, 36 inches. Thank you. J.J. Redick was 33 inches. Thank you. So they got the old school combine numbers for rankings and all that?
Starting point is 00:19:44 You know we got an expert research ad. I know, I was number one and number two. Just jumping straight up, not running jump. Running jump, okay. Nice try. Nice try. I had balance. That's not a vertical though.
Starting point is 00:20:00 It's not. What is vertical? No, vertical is just a thing. What is the what is vertical vertical skills? No, what is the death? Please then? What is the definition of vertical to straight up and down? Right? 36? Well, I'm just saying vertical and then the max word was one step was one step. Okay, is what the normal allow? That's the alignment. Yeah, which is which is stupid to like you give me one so I can touch the top of the backboard. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:20:26 That is a bad for the combine, too, because everyone's not a two-feet jumper. Not at all. Like, you see James White? Yeah. Y'all see his combine? His two feet is bad. No, it was like 28 off of two feet, 43. Off of one.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Yeah, you let him go off of one, yeah. Different. Jump from the free throw line. No, but that's messed up by Lonzo go off of one. Yeah, he's different. Jumped from the free throw line. No, but that's messed up by Lonzo, though, man. Like, that's unfortunate. But nothing is sacred within these organizations anymore. You know what I'm saying? And if you were to leak something about the front office,
Starting point is 00:20:56 then you would get fined for conduct detrimental to the team. But they can do all kind of shit because they own the team. Because they run it and act like oh you know it was just leaked out like it was like it's not a big deal that you're putting this information out probably ruining his chances of any team even entertaining him if he was to come back yeah because you ain't got one thing you don't have to worry about is people at the hospital like or the place where he had the treatment or the scans they're not doing that because they like them they can get sued you know i'm saying? So it gotta be coming from within the organization.
Starting point is 00:21:26 And we all know people talk, people, if you don't want somebody to know all you gotta do is don't tell nobody else. Say that. Don't tell nobody else. And they gonna go right there. But as players, how do you guys feel when you see these type of situations happening, right?
Starting point is 00:21:40 Shit gets leaked to the media, and as a fan or a consumer, we don't really know who that source is. But y'all got to know it's like one of three to four people that's doing this shit. But now these people are looking in your eyes, trying to be boys with you and all that type of shit. Like, how does that make you feel as a player when you know you can't even trust things that stay within the confines of the team? I guess even in that situation, you know what I mean? He's more hurt that, you know, the idea of him not playing, you know.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Yeah. That's that. He probably don't care about the article right now. Damn. He's thinking like. If it's true, you're saying. If it's really true. No, no.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Even if. What I'm saying is the article is the article for everyone else. Him, himself, he already knows he's missing all of next year. Right? Yeah. All of next year, he's done missed this part. I mean he already's battling his own little His little thing where the rest of the outside will even matter at this point Yeah, his whole you know his whole
Starting point is 00:22:35 Development growing up was basketball and you know, it's just been taken away from him So like he's supposed to miss all of next year That was I mean, so he's supposed to miss the bulk of the 2023-2024 season, if not all of it. Yeah, because I played 56 games. I came off a microfracture surgery. Came back too early. They told me I was fine.
Starting point is 00:22:54 I played 56 games. The next season, I played the first two games and had to get a microfracture on my other knee. How did it feel in the summer time leading up to that? Before I needed the first one or? The second one. The second one for the two games. Yeah, I knew I wasn't right.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I felt okay. Okay. I felt I did enough during the summer, but I was overcompensating for them 56 games. Okay. I was basically playing on one leg. And yeah, went out there and played the first two games of the next season. And I don't swell. I ain't got no body fat. I don't swell at all.
Starting point is 00:23:31 So my knee swole up after two games. I was like, ah, something ain't right. Yeah, I probably want to go get this looked at. And so they was trying to have me see the team die. I was like, get the fuck away from me, dude. You can't prescribe me Tylenol, br die. I like get the fuck away from me, dude You you you can't prescribe me Tylenol, right? I don't hang there you but you better get on dude Like but not so I went and saw doctors instead me never not it nice
Starting point is 00:24:00 Like when I heard that and do micro fraction on where I was like Hmm wonder what? But then goes back to the old saying though, they practice in medicine. Practice, literally practicing. Shit. I'm surprised no one got sued from all athletes. Were you from the team doctors? Well, it was period.
Starting point is 00:24:19 You can't even do that. I was a part of a litigation they told me to drop. Yeah. Similar, because they couldn't explain why i couldn't get picked up after my fourth year and they started to investigate certain players that wouldn't get picked up based on medical history and injuries so my surgery came my second year when my fourth year i was still having things that were brought up medically to other teams when they were mentioning my name in trades or whatever so i went into free agency and they were
Starting point is 00:24:50 like if the if we can prove that these teams didn't pick you up based on something in this medical file we can go against um like a class action and go up against the league based on that but they couldn't prove it because my reputation was big enough to say well we didn't pick him up because we didn't like him they jumped on a something mother right so they was like we can't basically prove it unless we had them all talking on email and all the other shit so we had something like that in like 2010 that they brought up like trying to they probably would have said oh well you don't even know if it's our fault, Billy. Like that could have just been your body's reaction.
Starting point is 00:25:29 You know what I mean? Like every body doesn't perform the same way after a surgery. You know what I mean? So it's almost like hard to sue and win a case like that because there's really no way to prove it unless right after the surgery you go get an MRI and they see the surgeon fucked up. It's kind of hard to prove that unless right after the surgery you go get an MRI and they see the surgeon fucked up It's kind of hard to prove that for him to say the team doctor and me to have a team doctor
Starting point is 00:25:50 And then I declined the outside expert Because I wanted my allegiance to the to the team to be wrong that I'm gonna go with the team doctor and trust them Yeah, did the same exact shit and it's like that was my like damn I was being loyal For no fucking reason and these niggas just botched my shit and I'm really like no they had motherfucking Dexter in Denver Everyone's mad at Kawhi Leonard for going out and getting his own and they told him he ain't playing no more right this season Listen a team doctor is loyal to the team absolutely yes the team is loyal to the fans so i will i will sit there in the medical staff hear the team doctor not not not not the one that's in in-house right the other one say yeah you know he's gonna be out uh eight to ten weeks
Starting point is 00:26:41 and then by the time it got to the player, because if you tell him eight to ten weeks, he's going to sit out ten weeks. If you tell him six to eight, he'll come back eight. They play games. They're going to come back at six.
Starting point is 00:26:57 But that's what I'm saying. You see how they're just... That's why players are coming back too early because they're going by what they're told. I remember Jarvis Hayes kind of messed up the beginning of his career because he was being told that he had tendinitis the whole time when his whole kneecap was cracked.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Come on, man. I know. I said, tonight, don't worry about it. That's crazy. I think I need an MRI. Hey, man, go get an MRI, man. Go fuck these doctors. Go get your own doctor. Sure enough he had a crack kneecap.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Yeah, but he was being told for three weeks. One of the kids that play on KJ's team, man. I had to tell him to sit his ass down, bro. They tell him to go out there, keep going. I'm watching him after the game. They got him, he only got a bad will, bad ankle, man. He just got done playing. They got him doing certain exercises after the game. I'm like, with weights and hopping and all that on the bad leg. I said dude don't matter what don't yeah, no wonder
Starting point is 00:27:52 So after the game, I told KJ listen man, tell you listen man go down somewhere man He went out there kept trying to play out like dude Walk around and find out the hallway let me tell you what happened with Brent so he ruptures Achilles and they wanted the team doctor to repair it but all the team doctor had ever been talking about anything that I had seen around him with Achilles is you never return the same like you're never gonna be the same and I'm like why would I want to send him to a doctor that's saying he's not gonna be be back. So I took him to North Carolina, and the Falcons, they were so upset, like telling him not to listen to me, to use a team doctor.
Starting point is 00:28:31 But this guy in North Carolina was doing surgery on regular people, not just athletes, and doing an amazing job. Like I'm talking about, he's the doctor for the Carolina Panthers, but he also has his own practice. And they were like, well, you're going to have to drive him there, back and forth, he can't fly. I said, yeah, fine, don't worry about what the fuck we doing.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Like, this is his chance and his career. I'm not about to let this doctor who already said negative shit, like do the surgery. Like, why would you do that with somebody that's telling you you're not gonna be the same before you even have the surgery. And he was fine. Played seven more years after that
Starting point is 00:29:09 Yes, doctor and we I go back and forth to all those appointments for the whole six months Driving like so he could get the right surgeon like, you know, Pete the team doctors are like you said they're on the staff They're just a job is to hurry up and get you back as fast as they can so that they don't lose much of their money that they gave you. Stemming ice. Yeah, like. Stemming fucking ice. They're so out.
Starting point is 00:29:35 With the Wizards, with the Wizards, you know how we go in the summer, right? In the summer is when athletes get to really see a whole nother world, right? You get to see real therapists. Real therapists. Yes. Like, I'm telling you, the NBA, they didn't have real, they had just a, they had a stringent conditioning guy, then you had the trainer where he had an assistant.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Them two niggas was dumb as hell, right? And you go out there, you get, like, you're going out to chiropractor, all this stuff. So you feeling amazing in the summer. Get back to your season. And he's like, oh yeah, nah, you don't, you don't want to chiropractor, all this stuff. So you feeling amazing in the summer. Get back to your season. And he's like, oh yeah, nah, you don't wanna stretch this and do that. And I'm like, nah, no, I'm gonna call my own guy.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I'm gonna call my own guy. And then them two beefing and stuff like that. It's like, they didn't like the idea of new technology coming into their old ways. The best place I was though that I can honestly say, like was the Knicks. Them two years I was there, they medical staff because they had the doctor, she's like Dr. Callahan.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Dr. Glashaw was there? She's dope. No, it was Dr. Callahan. Listen, she was on it. She didn't play. She didn't fuck around. She treated us all as we were her fucking kids. She was... Listen, though.
Starting point is 00:30:43 She said whatever she said- You believe? No no the team went like they didn't deviate like she's like being doing this they ain't doing that they got to go do this they got this amount of time damn what y'all talking about and they went with it and they had listen if five trainers like do they two dudes from Europe that did soccer. Five. That's lit. Five. Look at his face. I'm saying, they had the black guy, Rob Hines.
Starting point is 00:31:13 He was the main, but they had four guys on there. So the main guy that's there now, Chico, was right up under him. And it's just like, yeah. So it was crazy. It was some of the best shit I had seen. That's pretty nice. Think about. Oh, yeah. No, there you go.
Starting point is 00:31:24 From my perspective, though, there you go. From my perspective though, the younger kids and the younger players that come in the league don't got the bag to go get their own trainers and their own people. You got to depend on these guys, right? The NBA guys. The insurance. We didn't even know nothing about that shit back then. You know what I'm talking about?
Starting point is 00:31:43 Oh, you're a rookie. Right. You know what I'm saying? So me watching KG, how he took care of his body, it helped me once I got to my third year to understand what I need to do for the process. But before that, it was doing what they say. Ice, stem, put the heat pack on, get in the jacuzzi. You know what I'm saying? Home roll.
Starting point is 00:32:03 You know what I'm saying? Anti-inflammatory. Anti-inflamm I'm saying? Anti-inflammatory. Hey, anti-inflammatory. Three and two. Take your three and two, you'll be good to go. So as I seen KG and asking him questions, like, man, before he went to Boston, I'm like, what do I really need to do with this regimen? He's like, get the massage therapist.
Starting point is 00:32:20 I'm going to give you my lady. She's a chiropractor. She do all of that shit. She start dissecting my body a certain way where I'm like oh shit this is different greg and them don't know what the fuck they doing out here because i was hurting right here they telling me to do shit back here and now you see your whole shit but like you saying like you having your own guy it separates you because you come into the game, into the arena completely calm, relaxed, stretched. You can tell you done spent that money on your body. For us, it was like, damn, man, I can't wait to get that bag so I can get that trainer.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I'm going to be a whole lot looser when I come up in this business. I'm going to be ready to go. It's a big advantage. For sure. So you mentioned KG. NBA commissioner Adam Silver sat down with Kevin Garnett for his KG certified show. Had some things to say about the league trying to be less physical. There was a point, I believe, you know, probably in around the late 90s when the game became too physical.
Starting point is 00:33:18 And I think we lost some of the... For all viewers, you mean? Yeah, and I think for our fans, from the aesthetic enjoyment of the game, where it de-emphasized the particular skill a player had and maybe weighted too heavily physicality, where a big, strong player could come in and prevent an incredibly skilled player from doing those kinds of things. I think of, not that he's a small guy,
Starting point is 00:33:49 but a smaller player like Steph Curry can do on the floor. I think that his ability to shoot, his ability to move through the paint, that if guys could just bang him and knock him to the ground, as that was once the case in the league, I don't think that would be a better brand of basketball.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Before we get into the question part. I can't wait to hear y'all's. I love the way that would be a better brand of basketball. Before we get into the question part. I can't wait to hear y'all's. I love the way KG be watching. He's like, hmm. Look, you're getting close. We just talked about this. I can't wait to hear y'all's opinion on this. You know he's listening to you.
Starting point is 00:34:17 This is going to be good. Let's go. We ready? Let's hear this. You know we had to save the good shit for afternoon. We're here. It's 12.04 now on the West Coast. Let's get into it. So how does this current version of the league compare to the late 90s early 2000s version of the league? All you 80s people
Starting point is 00:34:40 All you 80s people who said the 80s was the roughest time in basketball, you just heard the commissioner say it, late 90s. So the theory of the shit y'all went and lived by was fucking wrong, like I said. They was on coke. They didn't have time to fucking foul nobody. Didn't have time to foul nobody. Didn't have time to foul nobody. Didn't have time to play the defense
Starting point is 00:35:08 like they claimed. The reason the defense looked good because the offense was terrible too. 90s was the most physical year.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Late, what did he say, late 90s? Yeah. The commissioner, late 90s is when they had the fusing league.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Right, when you was coming, oh, right before you came in. Late 90s, no 80s. Right, he didn when you was coming, oh, right before you came in. Late 90s, no 80s. Right, he didn't say 80s. Well, I beg to differ. Oh, let's hear it.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I'm a Pistons fan. I grew up a Pistons fan. Uh-oh. So, 88, 89, 90, them Pistons. That's 90s. But 88, late 80s, early 90s. Yeah. Like, them Pistons teams changed, like like they made- But what I'm saying is-
Starting point is 00:35:46 The bad boy- What I was saying is you can't say that, you can't use that as 80s. That's not 80s, that's 90s. No, 88 is 80s. So when they won their championship? 88, 89, 99. So when they won their championship?
Starting point is 00:35:56 In the 80s. 88 and 90. So. That's it, two years. They went back to back? Yeah. Yeah. Two, one in 80, one in 90. it so what the first one you said, hey, so it's still ladies, though, right?
Starting point is 00:36:10 But is it is it not but you can't say you can't come it's the 80s You can't give the whole decade so I would not Soft. Okay, you're saying as 212 people got drafted every year Yes 200 rounds Yes, they have seven rounds brother. That's what I said. That was supposed to be the best era Seven rounds of drafting. That's how that that's how sorry they word work Yeah, just get him get him in and get him out and then in the 90s and went straight to two rounds
Starting point is 00:36:55 I'm which she's it had to be too but it really had to be the most physical. That's what all the big men were Yeah, yeah But I'm glad I'm glad he put it on he put it on record cool That's where all the big men were. Yeah. Yeah. Big man era. But I'm glad I'm glad he put it on. He put it on record. Cool. Late 90s. You guys think the league is soft now?
Starting point is 00:37:12 I, uh, be honest. Soft? No, I wouldn't necessarily call it soft. Guys are better actors now. The rules have changed the way you play freedom of movement. We had a discussion before. There's certain aspects of the game that I would still like to see. So guys use it more strategic now to their advantage as opposed to really being
Starting point is 00:37:43 soft. They faking to make it to like really being soft. They faking because yeah, because it's like being like late in the 90s early 2000s. Like I came in in 2000. I got driving 2000. We never wanted and no time to let anyone think that you had an advantage. I'm saying no matter what it was. So what no flopping like whatever it was. So, wasn't no flopping. Like, whatever it was, like, we're going
Starting point is 00:38:08 to hold our ground. We're going to knock you down. We're going to stand over. Like, at no point do I want to give a shot to think that that... They got to you. Yeah, that I was weak. You know what I'm saying? Okay. So, it was more stand up.
Starting point is 00:38:23 Take it in your hand. Yeah, that's what it was. Instead of fake a fine. Yeah, now it's evolved to this wide open, which in baseball terms and football, like you said, like chicks dig the long ball. Okay. So offensive play is more attractive to the fans in every sport. You go to a baseball game and it's 1-0. Or you go to a football game, I guess they went to a football game
Starting point is 00:38:50 and it's all field goals. Who wants to see that? They want to see the score 44-45. 48-45 in football. They want to see 130 in basketball, 140. That's what they want to see. So that's what they got to give the fans. So that's what it's about. It's about the fans. It ain't about us and how we want to play the game. It's
Starting point is 00:39:09 about what the fans want, what the fans are paying hard-earned money for. Which I would like to see how they would call the playoffs now. They play more like that all the time. But it is what it is. It's like little things they take away from these two. Right? Me, it looks the same. It looks easier for me because there's things that they can't do anymore to someone like me or Steph or what's his name.
Starting point is 00:39:35 So like if he's guarding me, right? Couldn't intimidate somebody going to the hole and make them fear going in there every time. No, no, no. If I had a route, right? I had a post. So I was a post up. Like people, they see my game as a shooter, but I post up small guards. So when I'm trying to run through that lane and get positioned, I'll get chucked.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Shit hurt. Right? Make you think about it. They can't do that anymore. Right. Right? So he can't, you know, I'm running and they can't send me up. They got to let me run all the way through before if I decide to take off,
Starting point is 00:40:06 he can just, hold on. Now I got to get rerouted. You off your route. Now he can't. He got to just let me go. That was a part of our strategy too, defensively. We're like, knock Gil off his path. He's coming off this down screen
Starting point is 00:40:21 for a double. Big man. Ken is going to be the last big out. Make sure you hit him. So his trailer can catch up. So now we can catch up, right? We can shoot the gap, whatever. That was a part of the strategy. And the game plan was, not to call no names out,
Starting point is 00:40:37 but we knew who, I knew who I could be more physical with and who it got to. Okay. Right? So when the ball go up, first possession. Like I'm boom, boom, hit, thot, thot, thot, thot, thot. All of it. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:40:53 Yeah. Because I know you're going to shy away from it. Yeah. Like you can be averaging 25. I'm going to take you right out of there. And elbows be tenderized. It's all that. It's holding you, grabbing you.
Starting point is 00:41:02 I'm all kind of listening. Just a little trick that I'm gonna do That I know you don't like or I've just said if I'm playing somebody like Zeebo Ref gonna let us play up to a certain point Because we both yeah, so he told us keep it right there Keep it right there, which I love and he loved it. So we just eat every possessions Yeah, he hit me I hit him He boom ain't no I know give Alpha so back. Yeah, so that's what it look like and that's what it is man some and it's so far in between an NBA now
Starting point is 00:41:34 That guys that play that could have played in our air God, they look at him as dirty. They look at us to to physical for this name Like like no, that's the way they grew up playing the game. That's the way the game, every aspect of the game should be played. Just because you running around free, want to shoot threes and all that, I still should be able to grab, hold as well. You know what I'm saying? If you call it, if it's a foul, call it.
Starting point is 00:41:59 That's my thing. The NBA has been tricked by players like me, right? Like, players that I have a disadvantage, right? So I know, all right, they're going to put McCants on me, right? He's going to try to use his strength, right? So now I need to use his strength against him. So now, like, so I'll be told, like, even though I didn't go offensive rebounds, he's been told, box out, right?
Starting point is 00:42:25 Like, oh, I know he has to box out? Oh, watch this shit. Run in, knowing he going to turn around and look, I'm going to just jump. Knowing then as soon as I jump, he's going to naturally just do this. He caught me out of the air foul, right? Get him out of there. That's what penalized these guys, right? That's what penalized.
Starting point is 00:42:42 I bounce the ball. People are ball watchers. They're going to naturally grab at it. As soon as they grab it, throw your arm up. I learned that from Deadless Shrimp. Wow. Bounce, bounce, right? Post up, and then put the ball like the old runner test.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Yep. They used to do it all the time too. They just go slow because they know you're going to try to grow out of that. Because we see it and we're going to naturally just drop. And then just pull up. So what ended up happening is the offense got so creative and they're looking at the behavior and then they're adapting their game around it. So it came less than basketball.
Starting point is 00:43:18 So I wasn't trying to score. Like if he had his fourth foul and it's the top of the fourth, right, and I'm driving and he's still in the lane and he's not out of the circle, fuck that layup. I'm running right into him. Boom. Five. Get out.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Yes. I don't care about the layup. I just want to give him his fifth foul. Well, you know why Adam Silver said what he said, though, is contingent to how the game would be boring if we all played good defense like we were in our time. We were playing certain goods. Certain schemes were played to a certain point where teams could score. It was low scoring games.
Starting point is 00:43:55 You know, the stars weren't being the stars that were showing the highlights because it was struggle to get shots off and everybody shooting bad percentages and all that. So you free the game by calling less fouls. You let guys go. It's less physical. I call it soft-shell taco mild sauce. Soft-shell taco mild sauce.
Starting point is 00:44:14 These niggas air sauce. They can't even have hot sauce with mild sauce. It's the mild sauce. Soft-shell taco mild sauce. So in comparison to ours, I feel like we were like the alphas of the era because there was a lot of different kings that had their own teams that was really setting up shop like, all right, this is what we're going to do against them. They got their alpha. They got their alpha. They got their alpha. Now I feel like these guys don't even want to be the kings of the court. They don't set up
Starting point is 00:44:40 shop long enough to set up a strategy to say this is our shit and we're going to win. So now it's gotta be soft because is looking for advantages you know what i'm saying you gotta make a move to do an advantage you gotta get fouls to get an advantage instead of just being an alpha like we play hard we just wanted to kill each other like yeah i'm gonna beat you tonight i'm gonna beat you tonight well the nba feels like it's a copycat league nowadays. The Warriors were on their run. You saw teams across the league trying to mimic that model. Didn't necessarily have
Starting point is 00:45:09 the personnel to fit that. A lot of teams. Everybody want to shoot threes now. Everybody's talking about just analytics. As the rise in analytics has decreased all over the sport of basketball, we value threes now more than twos and just simple shit like that. Does the modern NBA have an issue with too many teams trying to play the same way?
Starting point is 00:45:28 Yes. Right? You can't do, like, when they started off, I was like, wait, hold on. You're doing analytics on the two, three, four best shooters in the league on one team. Right? Like, you're taking this one team and they're, what they've done, like, one, one and a half, then you got three, then you got five,
Starting point is 00:45:53 you got seven, eight, all on the same team, and you're going to structure the rest of y'all, what they're doing. Shooting 30-43s. They can do that shit. They can do it. You can. There's 450. You got
Starting point is 00:46:09 450. You got 385. You got 382. Y'all can't score. And that's what the NBA has done. You don't have Steph, Clay, and, you know, Steph, Clay, Poole, Katie. You not have those guys. You need
Starting point is 00:46:24 some shit that fits you right there's no way 90 of the league is shooting more threes than Reggie Miller and Ray Allen what is wrong with y'all what does that mean this is crazy as hell. Just to chuck them shits. Boston shot 42 three-pointers in game seven. Crazy. That's why you lost and got your ass whooped. Who y'all got on y'all team? Y'all got Ray?
Starting point is 00:46:58 Is Ray Allen and Paul Pierce there? Huh? Do y'all know who's shooting them threes? Phoenix Suns fucked it all up for them, though. Y'all got Larry, Ray. But Phoenix Suns. shooting them threes? Phoenix Suns fucked it all up for them, though. Y'all got Larry, Ray, Ted Bird. But look who Phoenix Suns had. They had six players in the top 15 in three-point percentage and makes.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Yep. You have to have the personnel to do it. Like, I don't think the league is adjusting to who they are. Is it the coaches or is it the league? That's what I was about to say. It has a lot to do with the coaches.
Starting point is 00:47:29 It's the same thing. Well, I guess you can't say it in all sports, but even in football you have these coaches or these gurus, right? They're famous for this structure and this strategy they have. But when you don't have the personnel to fit those, then are you really a good coach? Or do you just have some strategy that works for a group of people, but you don't know how to finesse it for what you have?
Starting point is 00:47:49 That's good coaching. Mm-hmm. That sounds good. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Some of them coaches are being told from the top, this is how we're going to play now. Oh, really? A hundred percent.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Or what? I don't know how I feel about that as a coach. From the top. This is how we're gonna play now Somebody else is telling me how to coach and then I get fired off their strategy as opposed to what I really wanted to do Wasa said he said, um, you know, I got the call down. Hey, yeah, we need to shoot between. We need to shoot between 30 to 43s. He said, okay. We making some trades? Who going? Who shooting 30? We don't have the people to shoot 33s.
Starting point is 00:48:38 We don't have the personnel to shoot 15. We got that booker. But unless he going to shoot all 15-3, we don't have nobody capable of the, to take 15, let alone 30 to 40. Yeah, it's like a few years ago when Rockets played Golden State game seven on a home floor. What they missed what 27 straight over 27 years dog.
Starting point is 00:48:58 You got to be out of your rabbit ass mind to keep shooting them. Yeah, like if you're being told. Listen man, you got to start free thinking out here, bro. When it gets to like 7, 8, we got to go get this quick. We got to go change. They missed 27 straight threes, man. That's hard
Starting point is 00:49:20 to do. To go to the finals. You keep take them. To take them. To go to the finals. Yeah. You keep shooting them. Threes. Threes. Man. Threes.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Look, I'm Jared Jeffries. You're not going to shoot five threes in no game. Not in this game. Not in this game. Not in this game. Not in this game. I'm not going to sit there and swing it, and then you just, wait, hold on. What are you doing, man? Swing the shit.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Go pick and roll. Come back to me. Like, these guys are just shooting threes that don't owe me to call The kid out man, but we talking factor. Listen the kid who's monger Ruber that play for the Rockets? T in that thing up nightly They gave him the green light nightly. They gave him the green light Huh? I mean they nightly. They gave him the green light. Huh? I mean, they nightly dog. Can't you live? Huh?
Starting point is 00:50:09 Doing what you doing? I didn't make a can make one. Did he make a couple now? It's like all shit. He can shoot it. Oh, I'm gonna keep shooting them now. Like no, is it the easiest thing to do right now in the NBA is shoot a three.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Yes. Yes. That's the easiest thing to do. Yeah, because anybody all the way out there,. That's the easiest thing to do. Yeah. Because there ain't nobody all the way out there. But that's why I'm lazy basketball. You're going to pass it? Shoot it.
Starting point is 00:50:29 I'm going to shoot it. I'm open. I don't need to try to drive. I don't need to work on my handles. I ain't. So all guys who are scared of getting hit and driving and getting to the... That's why I'm looking at the Jalen Brown. How do you have two free throws in a game seven and you're that athletic?
Starting point is 00:50:45 No way. And that's physically. No, you. Yes. Yeah. Trey Young. I don't give a fuck what y'all say. He gonna get to that line.
Starting point is 00:50:52 He gets his free throws. He's smart. He was damn near beating the freaking free throw attempts and made. Yeah. He a beast. And you telling me, you big bot, man, you better go in there and try to dunk on that whole team. And then another thing that it does, it forces when you're looking at talent, you exclude certain kind of players now, certain guys.
Starting point is 00:51:21 You can't tell me there's not another seven foot two, 290 pound kid out here that's dominant. You can't tell me that. And you overlooking him because, oh, she can't shoot threes. Huh? That's it. Like, come on, man. Talk about it. So now it's handicapping kids now to where it's fucking with their confidence.
Starting point is 00:51:47 I mean, I can't shoot threes. Now I want to want to play at the highest level But I can't make threes. That's not what I do, but I'm fucking averaging 72 and 30 in the paint In the paint, you know what they haven't realized they haven't realized that Golden State made you guys bend to their style not on purpose, on accident. Just like when everyone was bending to the Sun style. Right?
Starting point is 00:52:15 Four guards and Amari. Right? Of course they wanted that. So when Amari went down that lane, nobody was there. Like, today's game, these are the bigs? Kevin Love, Bam?
Starting point is 00:52:31 Ping and roll with Bam? Kevin Love's back there? Aw, bet. Eat. Grant Williams the same size as me? Eat. Bet. Eat. PJ Tucker? Eat. Bet. Like, that's your back line? Not you. Yeah. Not Shaq, not Alonzo M back line? Not you. Yeah. Not Shaq.
Starting point is 00:52:46 Not Alonzo Mourning. Not even Dwight. I got six. Dwight Howard. I got six, three. Why you think LeBron James can keep doing what he do? When he gets to the lane, ain't nobody big enough to challenge that shit. There's no resistance.
Starting point is 00:53:01 Damn. There's no one even to block it. There's no resistance. Y's no one even to block it. No resistance Did this live and he did the live and the dude trying to block it Six one six one. He's supposed to smash that shit every time I see you You monkey ducking that this Jalen Brown is the power for Yeah, yeah pop that you got a guard Jalen Brown is the power forward. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:27 That you got to guard. Tim Duncan. Yeah. KG. KG. Dirt. Oh. So if that's the four, the five is just as big.
Starting point is 00:53:39 So when I'm driving, I have two seven-footers in there. Now you're telling me Jalen Brown is the, Gordon Haywood is the. Yeah, just imagine people were guys got drafted simply to try to guard Shaq. Yeah. Nothing more than nothing. You big should I take you? I take you. You know what? I take you to the boat both of y'all. Come on., you and you, package deal, y'all. Six, 12, 18, yeah, come on. You can't teach height, man. You can't teach height. That's what it was, man. And now, like to your point, y'all not Steph.
Starting point is 00:54:15 You're not Klay. And everybody, that man single-handedly changed the game of basketball. Everybody thought, well, I can go get me another Steph. I can go. No, you can't. No, you can't. You can't. You can't go get another Shaq. You can't get another Michael Jordan. Neither one of them. So
Starting point is 00:54:33 everybody different. Let's play the game like it's supposed to be played. That's why I respect Kevin Durant to the utmost. Y'all not fucking changing my game. Y'all can do all that y'all want. I'm going to shoot maybe three threes a night, if that, and y'all going to hold this 30. Three threes a night, and he's actually one of top five point shooters.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Yeah. But he ain't wasting his time being seven foot and realize that ain't nobody back there. And can't nobody get to this thing. Man, why am I going to sit here and shoot the longest shot when i can drive and pj talk about that all right you know what i'm saying like we gotta go back to talk culture though like when ai came in everybody wanted to be like ai whether it be dressed or do the crossover right here comes stuff shooting the three so all of the teams are adopting this culture of shooting the three because this is what all the kids want to do.
Starting point is 00:55:29 They just want to shoot the three. So now every team is going to cultrify their organization around shooting the three because it's what all the kids want to do. Before, we wanted to hoop. We just wanted to get to the rim, get foul. We had people we idolize that did that stuff now All we see is threes Dame Steph clay all these guys are pulling up from three. We don't see nothing else
Starting point is 00:55:52 So are we seeing and I go to your point of the big man? That's all like if I'm not shooting a three I'm not good. That's what somebody said. Joel and B might as well be 6'5". Might as well. Might as well be 6'5". You 6'11", 2'7", and you catch the ball at the free throw line consistently. Consistently. If you don't get your ass underneath the rim, nigga. Because there's nobody there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:20 And that's why someone like Giannis Can play the game he played And it's right you have a 611 guy who's a hybrid One through five type of player where he can dribble boards the out athletic, right? He can come down five men guarding them now They got to put a smaller guy to guard him and he coming down the lane you're on realizing There's nobody back there because he in the corner you ain't you're on if if Shaq is sitting in the lane Come on good Marcus can come on and can you mark me down there?
Starting point is 00:56:57 I'm gonna turn this here Shaq gonna turn this here Boom take that now go shoot your two. Now go shoot your two. Then he gets out of the game. If he can get up. If he can get up. I remember I got Shaq out of the game. Woo! Lonzo Mourner.
Starting point is 00:57:13 Lonzo Mourner. Lonzo Mourner. Like playing against the Pistons. You get by Rip and Chauncey to dodge Ben Wallace, Tayshaun, Prism, and Rasheed. Man, man. If you had 20, you had a...
Starting point is 00:57:33 That's 60. Like he said, playing us, if you get past me, you got to deal with MC and vice versa. He leading the league in blocks back there. So, hey,
Starting point is 00:57:42 you know what I'm doing. So, it's like, yeah, it's hell, but nah. It ain't that no more like to your point. Like there's no resistance at the rim. Like that's why Rudy go best stands out. That's why he's like three times four times defensive player here because he stands out like it's like it's like physicality is down right is lower but we've never seen injuries higher. So what's the what's the issue? All right, tell you what I'll tell you. Soft-shell taco mile sauce that I'm saying. I'll tell you what, I'm gonna break the simple find out.
Starting point is 00:58:14 But I'm gonna let you get your point. When I came in the league when you came in the league with 2001 right here, you was doing what in training camp running now, but what was how many times a day twice a day? We do two days dog, right? Yeah, two days Two days so you building like they build you up my name to break they breaking you down So by time their first game thought like you soul Didn't went through the rigorous of your body aches pains all this in training camp well by time to see you thought I used like I feel good right because you didn't
Starting point is 00:58:52 went through that do these dudes might might be on the floor for two hours when they in training camp mate they might be on the floor for two hours though. What else they doing that because they're going to do a conditioning test when they first get there. Yep. And these dudes hoop all summer. Yeah, hoop. They hoop all summer.
Starting point is 00:59:14 So therefore they go that that's easy for me. But they ain't learning that. But they in shape. But they ain't getting that beat down and the lifting of the real weights. Like I told KJ last summer, all the new training you're doing is great, dog. All the flexibility, the veins, and the mobility, elongating your muscles. That shit is great. But if you're trying to build endurance and strength,
Starting point is 00:59:41 you got to go throw some real iron around, dog. Thank you. Thank you. You got to throw some real iron around. Thank you. Yes. Thank you You gotta throw some steel gotta go now. I'm talking about dumbbells barbells shrugs do like real weights, you know, he played 82 games They don't want 82 games this is they don't realize 80 last year muscles your muscles your tendons get softer as You get weaker. Right? So if you're not strengthening them during the course of the season,
Starting point is 01:00:10 you're going to have neck and neck injuries. So, like, before training camp, I'm doing my line drills and running the bleachers and putting my body. So when training camp comes, you know what I mean, the first two days, you know, ah, hammy strength. You know what I mean? That's normal, right? You got the first two days, you know, ah, hammies, you know what I mean? That's normal, right? You got the first two days, that second day, like, ah, I got to get through. And you're running through this stuff, right?
Starting point is 01:00:34 They don't have that now, right? So when they decide to do the things that they body naturally do, jump up, they pull in hammies, that hammy been tested yet. Yeah. That quad ain't been tested yet. That quad's been tested by somebody coming at you. You've been doing all this going against your trainer. Hey man, NBA combine.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Stop that dumb shit. All right. You got your little soft ass trainers, 5'5", 5'7". Sit here playing a little defense. Contesting your shot. Show me 5'5 and 5'7", sit here playing a little defense. Contesting your shot. Show me 5'5 and 5'7 in the NBA. You wonder why half the people y'all pick is busting out. Y'all letting them go through these token-ass workouts.
Starting point is 01:01:15 5'5", 5'7", 5'8". Do this. Come off the screen. And first of all, hold on. I'm sorry. I had to jump. You just fucked me up. No, no, no no no 99% of you motherfuckers
Starting point is 01:01:28 out there that's coming into the draft y'all ain't doing none of that shit y'all over here working in the pick and roll and you gonna be a corner dude show ass in the corner pick and roll dive on the ball y'all got these guys doing things that y'all worked on that's not gonna be they game or they
Starting point is 01:01:44 game so you guys are getting drafted and wonder why shit ain't working out for you. Because you're doing things that just ain't productive. We don't need you to talk about it. We got a guy for that. We got a guy for that. I don't think the league likes this, that they want more threes. They want more scoring and more excitement. They want all five positions to be able to shoot the ball,
Starting point is 01:02:10 and that's a European style of basketball. When you're in Europe, there's no one through five, not when I played anyway. Everybody can dribble. Everybody can shoot. Everybody is passing. We run a motion. So wherever you land up, I can land up in the post.
Starting point is 01:02:25 I'm posting up if I got a girl, which a lot of times the girls were shorter than me because I'm a point guard. If I do a screen down on the big man, I can just as well pass to her for a three as she can pass the post up for me. And I just feel like maybe the NBA is looking at more of a European style of basketball where everybody's able to play all positions and do all things as opposed to like a big man, you just stay down here in the block. I think they like it.
Starting point is 01:02:48 We talking about the injury prevention part, right? Well, that's because, yeah. And that comes to the entertainment value, right? We can't be entertainment out of the league if we don't have injury prevention. So a lot of these guys are being injured every year because they're not taking care of the body everything you just said So for me being a trainer for the last since I was started the big three
Starting point is 01:03:11 I've been really harping on having myself be an example of what it is to be a professional athlete and what it looks like right and a core McGarry used to be my testament because I always wanted a body like that to be able to I Wanted I wanted a I wanted a body like that to be able to I wanted I wanted a I wanted a linebacker She don't watch basketball I guess not but Cory Cory had Cory had the linebacker body, right? So Cory was Cory was the guy that you always fouled. Like, he was always durable.
Starting point is 01:03:47 He always went to the free throw line. So I liked that part of his game, but I knew he couldn't shoot it like me and move like me. So I look at, as a fitness trainer, trying to get these guys in their legs, right, DeMarcus Cousins see me in the gym. He was like, damn, big bro, you big as fuck, man. What you be doing? I'm like, I'm staying in shape, man. I'm injury free.
Starting point is 01:04:07 I wish I could help you, bro. Come fuck with me. I could get your legs right. These trainers is doing shit that we don't do as hoopers. They not in there doing the shit that they teaching you to do. But the shit that I know that I've done and that all of us have done in the weight room that work for us, that's what we should teach because it's not being taught so now these guys are getting injured with the hamstrings and the ACLs and I know exactly why because when I got diagnosed with certain things I paid attention to what the doctor's saying I'm listening to the ass like okay I'm taking a course so now if I wanted to really like
Starting point is 01:04:39 train you or Kenyon or BJ and all y'all beat up a show like how I transfer my body to a certain extent where I can go out there and still shoot, still make a hundred out of 98. You know what I'm saying? Cap. 98. Cap. You feel me? Cap.
Starting point is 01:04:56 But also teach the techniques and how that can help your body and what you need to eat and all those kind of things. We're not giving back in that sense because it's not a lot of us former athletes in the fitness realm where we actually can teach. You be on machines though. You're just watching me too much. No. You posted yourself on a lot of machine weights. No, I don't post nothing. Cheap weights. I'm sorry. That was not a good representation.
Starting point is 01:05:26 Cheap ways it goes, Jim. It don't even make sense. She works out at her house. She doesn't have a real gym. I do have a real gym. I don't have a closet gym. I move around real weight. I have a real gym. I move around real weight.
Starting point is 01:05:42 I have a real gym. And there's no machines in there either. That's too bad You see my machines I'll be on the machine just like and that weight you put on there was not good She wore that outfit last week I get to the gym, 8 o'clock, I don't touch nothing until about 10, 10.30. He really be walking around. Oh, we got the show. I got to go. I ain't done nothing. Oh, my God. But for real, like, the NBA, I think NBA personnel, the people who are, you know, in the draft,
Starting point is 01:06:38 drafting these guys, I just don't think they're educated enough. Right? They're not smart. Like, do you not understand who you guys are? They didn't play. Right? They're not smart. Like, do you not understand who you guys are? If you want me to, if you want to like, not spur, how about this? The number two, three, Jordan,
Starting point is 01:06:54 bring me in, let me evaluate your talent. Because I know one thing that's not going to happen. You're not going to tell me you coming by yourself. Right? I got the number two or number three, number four pick. You're not going to tell me you're going to come here and work out
Starting point is 01:07:10 by yourself. No way. The fuck you mean you by yourself? I'm telling you, I don't know who you are. You are a college player, right? You were good in college. This is a whole another fucking beast here. I need to see if you can handle going up against James
Starting point is 01:07:25 Harden and Tatum and Jimmy Butler. How the fuck do I know that you playing one-on-one with the damn staff member? No, no, no, no, no. Scoot? Scoot? Kevin Alabama? You guys who I'm looking for? OTE? Twin? Let's go. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Hey, how about this? I used to be. They don't do that no more. I got the number two pick. They're hiding them. Let's go. I want to see three days straight. Yeah, they're hiding them. They too. They too. Before, like, they pretty much saying if he was supposed to get drafted, like, listen, when he was going to go work out for Maverick. Have you show up. He's fucking going to be there. They don't do that no more there. They playing that game.
Starting point is 01:08:06 Absolutely. Got somebody in the back. Hey, Shaq coming down here on January 3. Like, shit. He'll be there. He'll be there. It's crazy. You got to see what you buying.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Even if I have a Wimby and I'm the number one pick, I want to see it, though. Yes. Yeah. You got to dominate. Against the own. I don't care. I don't give, like, he's the number one I guess I don't care he's the number one pick
Starting point is 01:08:27 I know the number two and three and four and five is supposed to be guards eight is supposed to be another big come on whoever what I'm saying is I'm not just going to say alright and there's a reason that the lottery itself 14 players 13
Starting point is 01:08:44 only two two and a half are all-stars from there. The rest of the all-stars is coming after. Because they're not seeing something because it's individual workouts. Everyone looks great. There's a reason Joker went second round. You can't see what he's great at in a one-on-one workout. That shit is phony.
Starting point is 01:09:04 Looking great dunking they don't All these agencies got pro days now Fuck y'all pro day. Let me I guarantee you they done after two minutes I'm not playing that dumb shit Oh, you're gonna roll and you go come pass it then come back off the handoff and go Y'all wonder why have these guys who got 43 ain't never dunking on nobody in the game Like that's why I tell like if KJ could have got to do a pro day a Lot of niggas wouldn't have been seen.
Starting point is 01:09:46 Dog. All this. Because he did. Hey, get three cuts on your forehead. Yeah, man. KJ was off that motherfucker. You know what? Man, had he been at a gym full of what I saw the other day, the pro day I went to.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Listen, man. Every NBA team, two, three people, every NBA team in that bar. Had he been able to do the workout that I saw them kids doing. Crazy, man. Oh, my God. Crazy. Lottery. He would have been a lottery pick.
Starting point is 01:10:09 If you look at them, if you look at the judges, you're like, what is this? What is this? And people don't even know some of this shit. Some of them agencies, they lower the rim. Oh, yeah. Shut up. Damn, Gil.
Starting point is 01:10:22 You're letting out the secrets. Lower the rim. Really real nine and a half Nine point seven so they get the little extra inch Why I think I'll be seeing dudes heads be at the rim and then you never see the NBA As a while like magician secrets are getting revealed You've seen them Sierra Canyon Pro Days? It's just that one rim be loaded in the mud. One rim.
Starting point is 01:10:51 He gifted now. Yeah, he gifted. Put his son. You seen him. Wait, who was that kid, like he was literally like this. He ain't. There was one, I don't know if he went to the Knicks. Jericho Sims.
Starting point is 01:11:03 Sims? Jericho Sims. It was. Like, come on, man. if you went to the Knicks? Sims? Like, come on, man. That's like the low rim at Cal State Dominguez Hills for those who remember those days. All that cheating shit, man.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Like, y'all, like, NBA, y'all need to stop getting fooled. Yeah. Like, this is real basketball. Like, this is real basketball. You guys are putting too much money.
Starting point is 01:11:23 Like, if this is really what you guys are about, right, all these psych tests, these psych stupid tests y'all want to do, do you want to cook or clean? Neither. I want to hoop. Yes. Or do you want to build or something? I don't want to do none of that shit. I want to hoop.
Starting point is 01:11:35 I don't want to do none of that shit. Motherfucker asked me, he asked me this. He said, all right, it's the last, but do you want to hit the game-winning shot? Make the game-winning steal or the game-winning pass, right? That's who? Now I'm sitting here trying to out think this motherfucker knowing obviously I want to shoot Obviously goddamn what you talking about? It's Michael Jordan. Everybody want to shoot the last shot now I got to try to out think him. Uh, what do you think I'm gonna say? Oh The game winning rebound. I was like what came when we're cuz it's me versus the other nine
Starting point is 01:12:12 Who I never heard that You're gonna be a star like this nigga He bought it. He bought it. How selfish I am, I'm not going to pass it to nobody. This old shit. I want to get the rebound, droop it in, bitch, and go one-four flat. That's what that is. But they're putting their money into the things that they don't like. That don't matter. Come on.
Starting point is 01:12:36 That don't matter. I don't give a shit what you're thinking about. Like, are you hooping? Like, I don't. But that's like, yo, I want to, yo show. I want to see you play. I want to see your actions. How do you play when a Kenyon Martin's out there? Are you going to back down?
Starting point is 01:12:53 Are you going back? Cause listen, somebody like Kat, he looks great against this, but then you got somebody like Jimmy Butler gets in his head every time. Every time. MB gets into his head. I need to see it. So I know how many games I'm gonna lose you I got a cap
Starting point is 01:13:13 17 games you ain't gonna be shit. Uh You're number two pick go with this guy. Number one. It's like I'm with it man. It's just yeah and I'm Like I said earlier in the show we talking about the win B killer. Can he play this then the third? He's probably the most skilled player we've ever seen before this side all that shit is true. Yeah, but is he pussy? Absolutely. I just need to know when the shit get tough get tough Get tough. Get tough. What you gonna do? I don't know if y'all saw, but he went through the legs and ducked in the warm-up. Everybody's posting the video. I think he finished that game with 13-10. So I'm like, wait. 7-5. 13-10. He's 7-5? 13-10 in the French Pro League game.
Starting point is 01:13:56 Oh my God. They posted a picture of him and Rudy. You know ESPN's rocking the highlights last night. I'm watching like, okay, that's cool. The warm-up dunk is nice. What's cool about it?-up dunk is nice. What's Coop highlights at? At 7'5", he can do that. Of course, you got to take a number one. The number one pick is it has to be him. That's what's at the number two, three, four.
Starting point is 01:14:16 You got them twos, them threes. If you're MJ, you don't have no chance to just be picking. Whoever the second, third, third for make them come in there And play earn that pick you are the number two pick earn that pick if they say I don't want to come cool You're not the number two pick the number three. What you talking about earn that earn earn earn me picking you Thirty million dollars like you you supposed to be a fringe. I got Lonzo. I got LaMelo. And I need a two or a three.
Starting point is 01:14:46 I'm looking at both y'all. Y'all are going to duke this motherfucker out. Brandon Miller got to come. And the twin. Amen. Three. If I'm the number two pick, I'm the number three pick. These three players
Starting point is 01:15:01 are attached through the... I don't want to see not one of y'all by yourselves but we talked about this on it seems like especially minor you talk about football think about the combine in top quarterbacks I'm not throwing at the combine yeah like if you really if you really that dude the fuck you hiding for but it feels like agents of a treaty to try to hide these dudes like at some point your ass gonna have to get thrown into the fire and come to the light so like like Cal Jones, Cal Jones, like y'all want to see what I ain't bringing no shoes. You know what man?
Starting point is 01:15:28 What size is there? Yep. Let me borrow them for these 40 seconds, man. I mean, I need these about a minute. I need, I'm going to run this four, four, three, five out here and you can have these back. It's not the agent. I'm going to show them proof.
Starting point is 01:15:44 It's the players that's telling the agent. No, it ain't. It's not the age. I'm gonna show you this is the players is telling the agent No, no, it's what it was. No, it ain't they told this is what I do was told to me They hide by two different ages like we wanted him to play against these guys and he said he wanted to to Work out alone Preferred because they give them the option like we can work out alone or you can go in here and work out with nine And a half times out of ten. It's the agent. It's the agent. It's the agent hiding it.
Starting point is 01:16:07 I remember when I was trying out, I went to 17 tryouts. I was trying to get more. Because I don't know who's who. Let me see. Let me check. No, you ain't got it. Like I can, you know, you can tell. They're not doing it no more. And I can you know, you can you can tell They not doing it no more and I'm I'll be the number two pick and I see none of them I mean it'd be ticking down
Starting point is 01:16:31 All right, Charlie. What number two pick who y'all got? I Ain't got nobody. All right, they go have a motherfucker work out suits and everything right here Which one of y'all Everything right here The best out of five we gotta start what I gonna do move it is the number three No, I ain't gonna move it to number three. They gotta go through no go. Uh-huh Y'all try to dodge me all goddamn summer go now got dressed or the 730. I need y'all here at 5 That's your crazy man. Like, this shit is like, I'm gonna get you out. Get up close. I'm gonna get you out. That's what they say, it don't test heart, it don't test determination,
Starting point is 01:17:09 it don't test none of those factors, you know, fight or flight, it don't test none of that. You gonna find out in real time. Yeah, because had they told me, had I been healthy for one, for two, if they would have been like, well, we need you to work out against, to see if we gonna do that. Oh, you was hurt when you got judged. Yeah, I went healthy. Oh, well, we need you to work out against to see if we're going to do that.
Starting point is 01:17:25 You were sick when you got judged. Yeah, I wasn't healthy. Oh, no, but that was. But one thing, but had they told me that, right, I need you to work out against Marcus Fizer, Strowmile, Swift, Chris Meade. I'm just saying, had they told me, I would have been like, shit, line them up. You know what I'm saying? That's what, that's just like, I'm finna show y'all what this is.
Starting point is 01:17:46 That show my ass too, right? Yeah, it was, no, no, no, I remember that. It was, it was, it was one. But had they lined it up that way, I would have did it. You know what I'm saying? Like, I would have, no question about it. Like, I'm finna show y'all what this really is. No, you know how, but think about, think about that.
Starting point is 01:18:01 That I was hurt. And they did it. What I'm saying is, the number one pick is hurt, right? He's hurt. We still picking him number one. That's how far in front of y'all that he is. He's hurt and we still gonna pick him. And coming off of the pre-draft workout that I put on display, we're like, them people
Starting point is 01:18:22 was like, we got our mind to pick this boy, but I had the best pre-draft workout in history. I'm not healthy all the way but I'm on the court a little bit. Well, we don't know if we're gonna pick him. Well we need to see him run and jump. I'm a literal guy black and white. Ain't no gray area with me. I'm a literal guy, black and white. Ain't no gray area with me.
Starting point is 01:18:47 You know where this is going. I went out there, got ready to loosen up, got stretched and all that shit. I literally ran down the floor, ran back, dunked the basketball, and went and took my shoes off. And that was it? With the Nets. I got the number one pick. Up, down, ha! Yeah, it wasn't even a real dunk either. It was something like, all right, boom.
Starting point is 01:19:12 I'm like, okay. Y'all ready? Y'all ready? People were like, what are you doing? I was like, I'm done. They said, you need to see me run. I ran. You see me jump. I ran. You need to see me jump. I jumped.
Starting point is 01:19:29 The end. We already know the rest, though. To your point, but just lining dudes up, have them go battle it out. I'm with it. If you were running a pre-draft workout, how would you approach it? You said you don't fuck with the way
Starting point is 01:19:44 they work now, so how would you approach it? You said you don't fuck with the way they work now, so how would you change it up? I'm a team. I'm a team. I'm bringing in my own trainers. I'm the team. Obviously, whatever you're going to do, you're going to cater to your guy, right? So it's going to be structured to what he does, right?
Starting point is 01:20:01 So even if he's out of condition, you're going to know how to time it. Like, okay, get a little rest. Okay, break real quick. Tie your shoes real quick. Because I know you out of shape. So I have to protect you as my investment. Yeah, it's just like the NFL and these quarterbacks. They're
Starting point is 01:20:17 throwing these routes, these pro days. They've been throwing these same routes for six weeks. These guys have been working on this same routine. Because this is what we gonna put on display for the coaches for the cast for this cow. That's what they gonna do. You know, it's like this is what they like I need to see Micah Parsons chasing one of those.
Starting point is 01:20:36 Absolutely. Let's let my project be over the end and let's say go and you get away from him you get this bitch of the man and he'd get it to then we then then you know what? Yeah, you the this bitch to the man they need to get it to. Then we, then, then, oh, you know what? Yeah, you the first man. Yeah. Yeah. I prepared the guys, like I was doing some training
Starting point is 01:20:50 for, for Kanban and I always, depending on which team go through the team playbook, we're going to go through this team's plays and we're going to actually prep for this team and they're going to watch you run sets that they run and you're going to dominate doing these sets. And that's going to get you drafted because it's nothing that you need to be introduced to new. Now you know it. Now every team you go
Starting point is 01:21:15 work out for, with me being your trainer, you're going to be more understanding of the playbook that you're trying out for. And now you look at each player who goes into the combine knowing they got to train for a set. They learn the sets as they go. The NBA don't even have sets anymore. They don't even fucking have sets no more. Like you said, a guy who's doing all this shit, he going to be a corner guy, right?
Starting point is 01:21:41 We like, damn. As trainers, you're like, we only going to set up for these corner guys to make shots, shooting threes. Because there ain't no other part of the game that they got that they can use. Like even the athletic guys, right? You're 45 inch vertical, right? The last thing you're going to do on my workout is dunk. Man.
Starting point is 01:21:57 I don't want to see that shit. I already know you can do that. Right. I know you can unless you're going to jump over a car, three humans in here. This ain't impressive. I know you can do that. over a car through three humans in here. This ain't impressive I know you can do that. Let's see if we can do everything else I think like my workout I'm killing you like first 30 minutes is my son hate me in the morning because he still be sleepy first 30 minutes is
Starting point is 01:22:18 all Dribbling Jill we're gonna burn them out first burn his, got to be on your what's-his-name. From there, now we're taking shots when you have nothing left for me. Don't you guys think the NBA doesn't put enough emphasis on, like, strength training? Like, I think there's a lot of emphasis on the game and skills, but, like, I think a lot of the injuries that are taking place is also because guys just aren't actually lifting weights, like really working
Starting point is 01:22:45 out. I think that that's something that's not important enough to the game. Because I feel like that's a part of being injured. That's a part of longevity, being able to play 82 games. He ain't touching no weight. Yeah. He ain't touching no weight. I'm wirey strong, is what they call it. Two pushups, getting in one, two. Because back then they had kind of like mandatory weightlifting. They say how long you're like Chuck say
Starting point is 01:23:09 Yeah, I said hurt To push us do this I'm out check out. I can't I'll saw me. Yeah Like now we got all this a man is all that ain't helping me score this bucket Okay, that that that caught down it does that all right? 82 games if somebody hits you coming through the paint though Could help you could help you Landing even like if you're if your quads aren't strong your hamstrings aren't strong you coming down Lenny You don't realize how that affects your knee now. I I get it. It's a lot. Sounds like some football shit. It's an athletic training thing.
Starting point is 01:23:49 It's about being in shape. Do a couple little squats right here. I'm good. That used to be my workout. I'd go in there, do five little squats, do seven little calf raises, do this a little bit. I'm good. I wouldn't even get a massage on my arm until this day. I know you don't.
Starting point is 01:24:03 No massage. You're just going to mess up your muscle memory. None of this. You ain't touching day. I know you don't. No massage. You serious? Gonna mess up your muscle memory? Right here? None of this. You ain't touching this. God, this God's work right here. This is, I put this on eBay.
Starting point is 01:24:11 You can touch everything but this right here. I ain't letting you mess up not a muscle, not a tweak. I done tweaked this motherfucker just right. You just tuned it like a guitar. Out of his name. He is. You see, I ain't never had no definition in this arm. Ready? Lift. All right. This motherfucker never had no definition in his arm. Ready, all right, lift.
Starting point is 01:24:28 All right, stay free, ready. Don't touch this one. Like a tennis player. So we got about 7,000 people in the chat right now. We appreciate y'all. I need to get that number up to 10K so we can make Gil hit this blunt. As always, presented by Underdog Fantasy.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Go ahead, download the app. Use promo code GILSARENA. They will match your first deposit up to $100. Help us help us stay on the air y'all see a lot of out there we're not gonna name no shows or no names but we try to run them off the block all right we got that good hey man i heard somebody said they ain't like my shirt listen you saw that i didn't want to i didn't want to bring no attention to it gil but they were trying to find a shirt in the chat uh-huh what they said is wrong with it it's a collar huh it's a collar what's wrong with it? What they say is wrong with it? It's a collar. Huh? It's a collar.
Starting point is 01:25:06 What's wrong with the collar? It's a jersey and it has a collar. It's a collar with a V-neck. And it's a three-way. You got a three-way shirt on. Three-way shirt. Listen, I just be grabbing shit, all right? Just, ah, ah, ah.
Starting point is 01:25:16 Got it. Be trying to figure out some shit with the shoes. You the coach and the player today. It's free. Yo. Yeah, that shit is hot. Hey, free 99s. You know, whoever said that in there, it's free, goddammit. But it looks good on you. I don't want to wear this shit.
Starting point is 01:25:27 I just got an order from the site. It's free. I just be ordering on the site. Hey, free 99, baby. Ain't nothing wrong with free. You're turning nothing down but your collar. Literally. The chat is clowning.
Starting point is 01:25:35 You know, make me some comments. See what you did there. Got that, what, that 80s porn? Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:25:43 That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Nothing down but your collar, literally. The chat is clowning. You know, making some comments. See what you did there. Got that, what, that 80s porn look? Something like that. Ron Jeremy. The porn killer. The satin.
Starting point is 01:25:55 The satin. Oh, my God. Not Ron Jeremy. But let's talk a little bit about these finals coming up. Current playoffs. We're going to talk about Mr. Confidence Coffee himself, Jimmy Butler. Jimmy's been riding the wave this postseason,
Starting point is 01:26:09 is looking to strike while the iron's hot. Playoff Jimmy filed a trademark for Hemi Buckets. Mm-mm-mm. Hemi, Hemi. Hemi Buckets plans to launch his own branded beverages and apparel. So quickly, just want wanna ask the crew, y'all rolling with the Hemi Buckets trademark?
Starting point is 01:26:29 For a beverage? Apparel. Apparel sounds like right for Hemi Buckets. Some shirts and shit. Yeah. A drink. You're not gonna drink it good. It says Hemi Buckets on it.
Starting point is 01:26:41 All right. What if it tastes good? You'll drink Starry though. Who? Hemi Buckets, you know how long that is on a cup or? on it. All right. What if it tastes good? You'll drink Starry though. Who? Hemi Bucket. You know how long that is on a cup or? You'll drink sushi or water.
Starting point is 01:26:51 That's Sususo. Suso. Suso. Hemi Bucket. Hemi Bucket. Same shit. Susio Hemi Bucket. What if it was like, Hemi Bucket.
Starting point is 01:26:59 Next to each other. They're the same. Six letters versus what, 45? What if you just called it Hemi? I mean, if you call it Hemi, yeah. What if it was like, Hemi Bucket. What if it was like, Hemi Bucket. What if it was like, Hemi Bucket. What if it was like, Hemi Bucket. What if it was like, Hemi buckets next to each other. They're the same. Six letters versus what, 45? What if you just called it Hemi? I mean, if you call it Hemi, yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:10 You'll fuck with it just Hemi? Hemi B? Hemi water. Why not just Hemi? Just Hemi. Hemi water. I think somebody probably got the Hemi. Think somebody got the Hemi?
Starting point is 01:27:20 This is a Hemi buckets for a drink or a snack. Give me some of that Hemi. I really hate them. Don't hate on them. Come on, man. That sounds a drink or a snack. Give me some of that Hemi. I really hate it, don't hate on the, come on man. That sound a little different. Yeah. I'm gonna use that. I'm drinking, it sound like Hemi.
Starting point is 01:27:31 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I want some of that Hemi. Come on here, give me some of this Hemi. It's about, you know, you use that, hey chat, you use that about like, like late night, about 11.35 when you're lonely, hit him up, like yo, wanna come give a little Hemi? That's little hemmy? Come get a little hemmy. That's what it was.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Come get a little hemmy. So we'll keep this quick, but Butler joins a long list of current former players to get into the trademark game. Obviously, he's got Air Jordan. Brian got Stride for greatness. He tried to trademark Taco Tuesday. Somebody already owned it. So he just ended up getting a bag out of Taco Bell for it.
Starting point is 01:28:04 Try to trademark some of that shit that's been around forever? Yeah. Oh, no, no, that's the shit. Somebody already owned it. So he just ended up getting a bag out of Taco Bell for it Trademarks and that shit that's been around forever. Yeah That's the shit I know I'm saying we're not go Tuesday and like that's what I mean. So it's been around you just gonna Let me try to get this Boy T-shirts and hats forever the most part nobody be trademarking some of this stuff. But you know, you never know. I'm saying you never know. It's probably been trademarked. Nobody has probably ever used it for anything.
Starting point is 01:28:31 It's been trademarked probably forever. Now, he could try to put his name on it. Be like, ah, got it. Got it. Got it. That's how you do it, too. Somebody did it on my son. They got my son's name already.
Starting point is 01:28:41 What's that? They got the website? They get our names before we even come out. Which one? Yeah, I gave you an article about that back in the day. Somebody jacked your shit and tried to sell it to you. Like, how you gonna own my name? That's why I don't tweet.
Starting point is 01:28:54 That's why I get everything, every social media, everything that came out, I got it immediately. I don't use half of it, but I got my name. I'll beat you to it. You can fan page that thing, or you can whatever you need, but you ain't in it. Kobe has Black Mamba. AI has the answer, but it's a little shaky if he owe somebody some bread for coming up
Starting point is 01:29:13 with that nickname. And B, trademark the process. And we're talking about Jack and Pat Riley, famously Jack 3-Pete from Lakers reserve guard, Wes Matthews, Sr. And Wes, I hope you can see a little bit of bread, Pat. Come on. And Gil, you got a couple of your own.
Starting point is 01:29:28 You got Hibachi and you got Agent Zero. Y'all got Hibachi and Agent Zero. That's why I couldn't name these the Agent Zeros. And it'd be Gil Restle-Mas. Why can't you name the Agent Zero? Somebody got you. Because he owns it. I own it.
Starting point is 01:29:42 But you can't, you can't. Adidas don't own it. But you can't license it to Adidas? No. They don't want to break it? Money. Money, money, money. That's all I'm trying to say.
Starting point is 01:29:50 I don't do shit for free. But that's what I'm trying to say. I got the Asian zero trucking. I don't know what it's trucking out there, but it's trucking. You don't know what it's trucking, but it's trucking. I got the Hibachi Fours. I don't know what kind of four it is, but it's falling So who's got your favorite trademark in NBA history? Maybe trim mark. Is it your own shit?
Starting point is 01:30:12 You know, you don't know what people have I mean, you know of the things that are out there I just I just mentioned you roll a lot of ones that I mean obviously Jordan Magic with his magic. What is he? Magic Johnson Enterprises, I believe. I like the answer. The answer is baller. But Magic was smart because he was selling all those T-shirts back in the day with people's faces on it. You remember those customized graphic tees back in the day?
Starting point is 01:30:37 I think Jordan might have got salty about it. I'm not mistaken. Moonwalker. Michael Jackson. Was that trademarked though? Moonwalker. Probably. That's lit. That's a good one.
Starting point is 01:30:49 Except you to do hibachi though, that's gangster. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's gangster. And I like 3P, but Pat Riley got his Elvis on. I don't really respect that. But does he use it? I don't want to trademark something now. But I think anybody who tries to use it.
Starting point is 01:30:57 Anybody use 3P, just check. But that's pointless. Hmm? That's pointless. What is? It's called sports. I don't think anybody uses it. I don't think anybody uses it. I don't think anybody uses it. I don't think anybody uses it. I don't think anybody uses it. I don't think anybody uses it. But I think anybody who tries to use 3P is only. 3P, check. But that's pointless.
Starting point is 01:31:06 Hmm? That's pointless. Cross sports. I don't think, when people, when you trademark shit, like, use it. Don't just trademark it so nobody else using it. They use it, you get money. Well obviously if I know I gotta pay you, I ain't using it.
Starting point is 01:31:22 Like Hot Girl Summer. I'ma come up with something else. No one's gonna use hot girl summer So that means it's out. It's a my new number repeat when you three people Pat made three hundred thousand dollars on the first Bulls three Pete according to our bulls cuz nobody knew he had it How about the second bulls? Nope, you know MJ was hating so repeat He doubled up. If people use the term 3P. No, that's not.
Starting point is 01:31:50 No, you have to sell product to make money off of it. Yeah, any kind of merch. So nobody's going to make 3P. That's why he made 300,000 the first time because nobody knew he had it. But then he made 600 the second 3P. He made it? Yes, bro. Anytime you use the word, nigga, you get paid. No, but then you made 600 the second three people. He made it. Yes, bro He any time you use the word
Starting point is 01:32:06 No, not if you use the word you have you have to make money from the word That's what I'm saying. Anytime you're using the word and you're making money off of it Cha-ching what I'm saying is why would I use a word that I know I can't you can't You don't know they didn't have a percentage. Yeah, I don't know Why would I want to do that when I I can come up with a whole new thing. What's better than three-peat when you won three in a row? Triple-peat? That's better than three-peat?
Starting point is 01:32:30 Like if somebody, like let's say I'm a business, right? Triple-peat. I'm a business and I'm selling basketball merchandise and some team just won a championship. I know my proceeds if I write three-peat goes to this dude. So I'm going to put one, two, three. Yep. Triple peat.
Starting point is 01:32:47 I want all my profit. Why do you think about it? Every time you write three-peat and you sell, you got to give it to him. So you're going to change the wording. Not all of it, but a percentage. But if you don't know. If I don't know, I'm fucked. How much would you pay for GilbertArenas.com right now?
Starting point is 01:33:02 GilbertArenas.com? Or do you own it yet? I pay zero. You wouldn't pay $1 for gilbertarenas.com right now. gilbertarenas.com? Or do you own it yet? I pay zero. You wouldn't pay $1 for it? No. OK. I don't own it. I don't like social media like that.
Starting point is 01:33:12 Because he can just go create gilbertarenas.org. Yeah, I'll go over. .edu. Why do you think most of my stuff is no chill? Why do you think most of my stuff is no chill, Gil? What's the funny is every time I changed my name, somebody took my name so I couldn't get it back. Like I had to, like on Instagram, because Gilbert Arenas was going, I had to go G-I.
Starting point is 01:33:30 It was a G dot I dot L dot. I had to do that in between. That's why I got mine from the beginning. That's not a good look. From the beginning. I wasn't fucking around with you people out here. Y'all was savage. That's why I'm just no Jill Gill.
Starting point is 01:33:44 What's the most somebody asked you for to come up off the Gilbert Arena sandals? Oh, I don't know. You have any? It's not even a conversation. It's not even a conversation. It's not a conversation. What if they're a lifelong Wizards fan and they've been holding it for you,
Starting point is 01:33:55 just waiting for you to come ask them? Because I'm not going to pay anything, so it's not a conversation. It depends on what I'm really talking about. Like, LeBron James' name is gone, so is King James. You know, it's like, we just changed the money sniper. We know who it is. Steph Curry ain't got his name. That shit don't work like that.
Starting point is 01:34:18 This ain't 1980, man. All right, bro. I'm just trying to, you know. This ain't 1980. I'm trying to help you get your shit right. These motherfuckers, listen, these dudes trying to... People were trying to find the easiest way to make a buck off of you. So if they think they can use your name, your likeness, your appearance, whatever they can
Starting point is 01:34:35 possibly do, your autograph, whatever they think they can possibly do to gain some type of advantage, monetary value, something from it, they going to do it. For sure. So we talked a lot about Jimmy Butler's confidence on the show. Some think he's the most confident player in the playoffs. Some are just ones. Some don't. Some are just haters.
Starting point is 01:34:56 Some are just haters. But tennis star Coco Gauff knows firsthand the level of confidence that Butler has in himself and his team. Before the playoffs even started, I guess Coco's a big Heat fan. She's been for a lot of deals. Yeah, she asked Jimmy for some tickets, said she was going to be out of town. He was like, don't worry, I got you for the finals. This was before the first playoff game was played.
Starting point is 01:35:16 He weren't a playing guild. Are you not rolling? Just let them see it. Are you still? Did she show the text? Obviously not. No, she didn't. She provided it. She provided it? You think she just made him see it. Did she show the text? Obviously not. No, she didn't. She provided it.
Starting point is 01:35:27 She provided it? You think she just made it up? Did she show us the DM? No. No, she didn't. No. You need that type of proof? What is Coco Gauff going to lie for?
Starting point is 01:35:35 She's like a 19 year old. Joker told me back in... Hey, can you play the footage? Can you play the footage? Joker in 2019 told me he was going to win the championship in 2023. Guarantee. Guarantee. He said guarantee. Hey, can you play the footage? Guarantee the footage? Jokar in 2019 told me he was going to win the championship in 2023.
Starting point is 01:35:46 Guaranteed. Guaranteed. He said guaranteed. Guaranteed. Why would I lie? Why would I lie? Because you can't. Because you can't.
Starting point is 01:35:54 Because you can't. Why would I lie? Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can't.
Starting point is 01:36:02 Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can't. Because you can 2023. So you saying Coco lied? They said it. All I'm saying is I don't believe shit till I see it. Is the joker you talked to Cajun? Huh? Yeah, the Caucasian one in Denver. He told me. He told me himself. He Caucasian.
Starting point is 01:36:13 Yep, I got the DM right here. Look. But what does it, like, what does it, okay, he could have said that shit, they could have lost in the first round. Like, dude, like, fuck, like. He would have been lying, but he told the truth. No, he wouldn't. It's not a lie.
Starting point is 01:36:27 What date did he say it? Yeah, it's not a fucking... So it's not a lie. Before the playoffs. We for real right now? Wait, no, no. All I'm saying is listen, listen. Are we for real right now?
Starting point is 01:36:35 It's just like somebody played the lottery, right? We just spread it in the confidence... Somebody played the lottery. Shit, I win the lottery, shit, I'm going to give you a million dollars. It never fucking comes. Like, it's not a lie. Just I told you some shit that didn't but what if they like a bow in the lottery. No, I got these finals tickets and I tell you I'm gonna bring you to the game and I
Starting point is 01:37:03 don't get you to find you. That's a lie that's a lie I got the final tickets you don't how can you give somebody something you don't fucking have show me how can you how can you invite her to the finals they wasn't in the finals he's shown it manifested he said before the playoff it manifested itself it manifested itself yes you want tickets before the play all was it before the play was before the playing game where to play in game Yes, that's what you said later. John On the chat, did it say it? She said it. I don't know what she said. When did it happen?
Starting point is 01:37:45 Before the play-in game? Before the play-in. Before against Atlanta. She said it before Atlanta. She said it. We don't have proof of that, obviously, but she said it. But then she said she's not going to be available to go because she's going to be at the.
Starting point is 01:37:58 But he said, look, when did she get back? She's still not back. She's in the French Open. But that's what she said. The point was, She said your family. He was like, your family can come. Your family can come. To the finals.
Starting point is 01:38:08 To the NBA finals. Of the National Basketball. Finals. He said. In Miami. He said this. In Miami. Before the playoffs.
Starting point is 01:38:15 Your family can go to the finals then. I'll have tickets. I don't know how fucking. Joker told me the same thing. Joker said, me and my kids. Y'all acting like these, like these tickets are sacred. Like they fucking hard to come by. So no, no, it seems like he predicted it.
Starting point is 01:38:28 That's okay. It seemed like we're trying to make it seem like he said it and it manifests itself. That's a great thing for sport. It's called confidence. Cool. If he points to something, hit a homer up there and he hits a homer up there. Jimmy, Jimmy, who did that? Who did it for the Yankees? We're all confident. I'm confident I was going to hit a homer up there and he hits a homer up there. Jimmy, who did that? Who did it for the Yankees?
Starting point is 01:38:45 We're all confident. I was confident I was going to make it. You know I don't like my sports. There's only two people that can show evidence. That's Jimmy in his DM and her in his DM. I do need evidence, Gil. You don't believe me. I just said Joker said it.
Starting point is 01:39:02 That he was going to be in the finals in 2020. He said I'm going to be in the finals in 2020. He said, I'm going to be there 2023, and I'm going to win it. Do you believe that? Yeah. Okay, cool. We got two people. Cool.
Starting point is 01:39:11 That's predictable. You ain't never met no Joker. No, and me didn't say that. And me didn't say that. When he was eight years old, he told me. Then LeBron told you he was going to get swept. He told me he was going to win. Then LeBron texted you and said, hey, Gil. I ain't mean to show you this.
Starting point is 01:39:26 He did. But we know we're the one who swept up under the goddamn rug. Spurs said he was getting the number one pick. So neither here nor there. I can't get his credit. You can't get Jimmy his credit. I just want to see it. I want to see it.
Starting point is 01:39:41 You got to get Jimmy, G. I know when people are trying to get hyped. Jimmy got to come to Adidas. I know when people are trying to get hyped. Listen, when it was all the want to see it. I know when people trying to get hyped. I know when people trying to get. Listen, when it was all the way to the finals. 2020, listen, 2020, it was popular to have COVID. Oh, God. Right? To have a bubble sip.
Starting point is 01:39:54 It was popular, dude. Motherfucker drunk on stage. Oh, I had COVID. I caught him at COVID. Nah, that was the Henny. That Henny, everybody had, all celebrities had COVID. Like that was just a popular thing. So everybody, oh, get well soon.
Starting point is 01:40:06 Oh, we praying for you. Listen, she's, what's her team? Miami Heat? Yes. What do you get? What is the point? I'm saying, hey, Henny, what did COVID have to do with any of that? She's probably trying to get famous like everybody else.
Starting point is 01:40:21 She's already famous. Ride the wave. She's already famous. Show me the test. She beat Serena, bro. to ride the wave. She's already famous. Ride the wave. She's already famous. Show me the test. She beat Serena, bro. She already showed me. Show me the DM. You said there was a DM.
Starting point is 01:40:31 One of the two, show me the DM. You show me the DM like, OK, cool, I believe it. So we going from fake injuries to showing DM. Show me the DM. That's hard. That's hard? Here's the question for you. Is it hard?
Starting point is 01:40:43 Is that a problem? We're not even talking about Jim anymore. We're going to open up, make it broader broader Who was a guy you played with that has supreme confidence and walked it like they talked? Now you know when they said they was gonna do some shit they was gonna deliver they were not gonna be fugazi It was not cap other than yourself No, self promo Gil on Gil's arena I already know what you're gonna say Only me I ain't trust none of your other, I already know what you're gonna say. Only me, I didn't trust none of them. Calm down.
Starting point is 01:41:09 Chill Gil. Chill Gil. Not one. Chill Gil. Chill. Let it go. L-I-G it Reggie. Not one.
Starting point is 01:41:17 Let it go Reggie. I can think of one of your teammates. Reggie, let it go. That was serious and like when they, and then Karan. But yeah, but he didn't predict stuff. Not predict, but he was like, confident. I'm not saying predict him, but just from a confidence level. Just confident and manifested all the stars.
Starting point is 01:41:35 You knew when they said they were going to do something, you looked in their eyes like you believed them. You knew come fourth quarter, they were not going to disappear. No, Karan crying you have Antoine Larry you know he was quiet but Deshaun Stevenson Uh-huh, yeah that Fresno swag What's so funny is it's it's how kids are like dressing now. Like I was watching something where they have that goofy, they got a blanket. Like he had a blanket, a SpongeBob blanket with a SpongeBob house shoes and you'd be
Starting point is 01:42:13 like, that's him? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Rashad, who? We'll go you first, then we'll go to... Shit, I mean, I played with Chuck, played with Melo, I played with J.Kidd, I played with Charles. Marcus Campbell said he was going to win defensive player of the year. He's a bunch of cocky.
Starting point is 01:42:36 The white, the white. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? Oh, no, the white. Take it from me, that was the only thing. I hoop with that. It was about that. He's about that action. Who?
Starting point is 01:42:44 KG. Who? KG. Who? So take it from me. That was, you know, the only thing I hoop with that was about it. He's about that action. Who? KG. Oh, but did he ever say that I'm gonna do this and then did it? Nope. That's the only one. Do it and then there's only one man that did that publicly.
Starting point is 01:43:00 No, he told me. Said I was gonna a 50 on someone. Four months before. Bro. They getting 50. We're getting into the season. Hey, I'm coming. I'm giving 50.
Starting point is 01:43:11 Line up. We're getting into the season. This was some cold shit though. Ticket was losing in the rebounds per game. He took that shit serious. It was like, Dwight was at like 16. He was at like 11. He would look at that shit every game and be like, fuck. He was just like 16. He was at like 11. He would look at that shit every game be like, fuck, he's just stressing out.
Starting point is 01:43:27 And then one game he was just like, fuck, I'm gonna catch these, I'm gonna walk they ass down. Watch, I'm gonna walk, it was right before like, All Star break. He was like, I'm gonna walk they ass down, watch. Next thing you know, them niggas got tired. It was DeAndre Jordan, I think his second year. The niggas was all up there. Marcus Campbell was up there, I believe like 10, 11. He walked the niggas all the way down
Starting point is 01:43:49 to he, I think he had averaging the 15 that year, 15 rebounds, 14, 15. And I walked them niggas down. I watched it. And he did it strategically how he rebound. Like it's different, but the nigga did it. I used to love playing against him. Used to get time because he like you used to do you used to just what go tend the first shot that come in. Yeah, I hate that. Like, because you know, kind of this scare tactic right now. It wasn't like, you know grab it was that, you know, spike it into the fourth row.
Starting point is 01:44:21 Oh shit. And then he go over there and ask for it back. Absolutely go ask for it. And he just purposely like, even if he pumped it and just threw it, he was like, oh shit. Then go ask for the ball back. We gonna need that for the next two hours. And then, so KG used to like, didn't let people shoot, right? You know, whistle blowing, then he used to try to throw it up there and he'd block it.
Starting point is 01:44:46 So every time I'd be like, all right, look. Every time the whistle blow, just shoot it, make him jump. Right, so we making him jump 45, 50 times a game. Just be like, oh, let me get a little shot, make him jump, just jump, jump, jump. Hopefully by the fourth quarter, he ain't have no more energy to jump. That's how he just wear him down.
Starting point is 01:45:04 I just throw it up there, Like, yo, hey, shoot. There he go, blocking. He's going to do it every time. Like a dog at the park. Every time. Try to get him tired. You want to see him in the fourth quarter? Get him tired.
Starting point is 01:45:20 All right, now let's move on. We got one last topic to talk about before we get to Mosey fans. This is near and dear to our hearts. We got to talk about this Eric Lewis burner situation. It's a couple days old. We wanted to sit on it for a little bit. We'll really gather more information like the league allegedly was trying to do. But NBA official Eric Lewis got some explaining to do after he was allegedly caught running a burner count at Cutliff Blair I think was the accounts name and the reason people found it out the account was dick riding Eric Lewis
Starting point is 01:45:50 Only followed like five other accounts like three were like NBA official counts one But I think George Mason women's basketball team where Lewis his wife is the head coach For those who don't remember Eric Lewis You may recall that he was the ref that Pat Bev famously pulled the camera on when he forever altered the trajectory of the Lakers season, tricking that game off in Boston. I think one of my favorite moments in NBA history. I just want you to see this thing got joked.
Starting point is 01:46:22 Pat Bev having the presence of mind to go grab somebody's camera to go run up on the ref. Like the Lakers knew at that point, I think it was right before overtime, that they were cooked. They were going to take the L. So it's been reported that Lewis is a known Celtics fan. After getting busted, the account claimed it was actually Eric Lewis's brother, Mark, briefly deactivated.
Starting point is 01:46:42 Now it's there just sitting there not doing shit. I think it deleted all the tweets. So Lewis is entering his 19th season as a ref. He's officiated more than 1,000 games, 82 playoff games. Last worked game one of the Western Conference Finals, which we already saw what happened there. Cheated the Lakers. Facts.
Starting point is 01:47:02 We can say it now. What are y'all thoughts on this whole Eric Lewis? Is he saying it was his brother's account now? That's what he's saying? He said it was his brother's. It's like, niggas, we not- No, no, his brother said it was his account. Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day-
Starting point is 01:47:14 Somebody tweeted from the account saying, this is Mark's, this is Eric's brother, Mark. It ain't him. This ain't me. This ain't Raymond. No, no. No. There's no, I mean, there's no i mean there's no crime it is not like he's he's just interacting fans like no this call was supposed to be like this that's all that's all account was doing it wasn't he was
Starting point is 01:47:34 saying i bet you they gonna lose this game whatever he was doing no it was it was it was basically he was just defending himself defending his brother or himself. So when you read it, there's no like you're looking at What the fuck is the investigation? The investigation is Referees are not allowed to actually interact with civilians. Okay about the game Period this period but no here's about that. But no, no, but especially about that. What does that mean though? They can't real job. No, no NBA refs or for the rest of the civilian along the more regular regular folks That's not a referee like at the store shit. So they so They can have like social media, but it has to be like like sanctioned
Starting point is 01:48:20 Like no, this is your no no sanctioned group so they can have like a, like a referee's club. Right? They're not actually allowed to have conversation with anybody else. Can they post like refs' mixtapes and shit like that? No. They can't post each other's... Yeah, so that's the only investigation. Like, oh, look at their charts.
Starting point is 01:48:38 What about the work? So it's not like he did anything. So it's not like he did anything. The tweets were more like, oh, like a bitch. Like he, like, it just seemed like he was soft. You know what I'm saying? Why do you even care? Somebody critiquing your work.
Starting point is 01:48:51 Still, that's a fan. It's not that serious to me. For you to get a burner account as a referee to go argue. Some of the tweets I saw were just bitch nigga shit to me. I'm sorry. How do you feel about KD's burner account? I think that some of the tweets I saw were just bitch nigga shit. I'm sorry. Like why do you Some of his stuff was valid but a lot of was bitch nigga to some of the things were bad I could get it you
Starting point is 01:49:14 Can't be yourself. You can't be yourself So you want to say things that won't get you fine that won't get you in trouble So I do get someone the burner account account, but use it the right way. Use it on shit that's cool. You were rolling with KD's burner? Yeah, he was being super serious. I like most of them.
Starting point is 01:49:34 If she's going to say that, you've got to say that about everybody who has a burner account. It's about how you're using it. It's not. It's you using it. 50,000. Why do you have to hide behind an account? Because it costs you. It's not. It's you using it. $50,000. No. Okay, so look at it like this. Why do you have to hide behind an account? Because it costs you. Because you can't say what you really want to say.
Starting point is 01:49:49 It costs you. So then why do you need to say what you have to say? Because you want to say it. No one knows you're saying it. It doesn't matter. It don't matter. You get that off. You know it.
Starting point is 01:49:56 It does matter. If we don't know you're saying it, it's how you feel. People's opinions of other people matter, man. Yeah. They have something to say. Like, what was it? What's the dude who Katie got fined 50 grand for?
Starting point is 01:50:11 Who? When he said something to him. Rappaport. Rappaport says something. Fired first. Katie responds. Rappaport gets him fined. Gets him fined 50,000. Why do you fined?
Starting point is 01:50:26 I'm a human Is that the response we're giving now? I'm a human I have to respond We're going your DM, I'm pretty sure you said some shit to some people No, I delete You don't get to come into my space With no fuckery, delete
Starting point is 01:50:42 You got to block list. Immediately. You don't even exist. Once I block you, it's done. Rashad, I got kicked off Twitter in 2015 for threatening another reporter which was so stupid because like you said they're always the person that counters gets in trouble. He said something about my child.
Starting point is 01:51:00 I told him when I see him this was when I was covering the Dolphins. I said when I see you in the press box, I'm going to spit in your face. That's not a bridge. Oh, God. He feared his life. He called the police. He did so much stuff.
Starting point is 01:51:13 Twitter banned me for life from Twitter. A girl, 140-pound girl, told a man that I was going to spit on him when I see him. He said he feared his life. They banned me. When I got my fake Twitter, I had the time of my life. You had the burner? Yes. Did you retire or is it still out there frolicking? I still
Starting point is 01:51:33 have it. Okay. But I had a time. Let me tell you, I got to say all kind of shit. Nobody knew it was me, but it was still funny. Like, people still retweeting it. You can fuck with people. Yeah, I had a good time. Have you ever made a burner? No. Okay. I had a great time. I couldn't be myself, though. You're fine. Like people still reach we can fuck with people No, okay, I had a great time I couldn't be myself fine and fuck I already have my excuse I ain't do that Why don't throw everybody in on the DM? Oh, I'm pulling up. I'll put out address. Oh this this where you live, huh? Uh-huh. Oh, I don did all that. Yeah. Yeah. I could be getting arrested any time now.
Starting point is 01:52:06 If the police kicking the door, you already know. I done told somebody. I'm coming. I'm pulling up. I'm pulling up. And I just be like, that wasn't me. How you know it was me? Somebody else had my phone.
Starting point is 01:52:16 I already got my excuses. So should refs be fine like players when they violate the rules and regulations? Listen, social media policy. Social, listen, I don't give a shit what you talking about, right? What you doing on that court, right? And the bad part about that is he wasn't even the ref who blew the call. That wasn't Eric's call.
Starting point is 01:52:37 He could have made it. That wasn't his call. It was the other ref. Whoever it was. That's what I'm saying. It's like, how does Eric? See, I think we all- He was there. Tell him, tell him. He was in the car.
Starting point is 01:52:49 We're all looking at Eric because of what Pat Beverly did. Not realizing that actually wasn't Eric's call, it was the other dude's call, who was right under the basket who seen it. But Pat Bev knew something, so he identified- No, no, he went straight to who he wanted to go to because he knew who the Celtics fan in that crew was. That's what I said. It wasn't even his call. He would have been the
Starting point is 01:53:12 scoreboard ref. So he would have been closer to the sideline. He's the sideline ref. That was the under the basket ref who made that call. If he made that call from back there, that would have been an investigation because that wasn't his call.
Starting point is 01:53:27 But that's to say that Pat Beverly took the pressure off the actual guy who made the call, who missed the call. Ain't got nothing to do with that damn burner account. They didn't. I don't know. People-sensitive, man. He defending himself. He feel he needs to defend his craft and what he do nightly. He getting critiqued and criticized. He felt he did a good job.
Starting point is 01:53:51 Gotten his feelings. Yeah, everybody, yeah, man. But I mean, for that, that one makes sense. I mean, listen, as an NBA, I guess NBA players now where you technically get critiqued, but you can't respond. If you respond, you get fined. I mean, at this point, you probably do need a burner count. I mean, once you started fining the player for responding,
Starting point is 01:54:16 it became a whole different level. It's always been one-sided, though. It's always been one-sided. You got to respond in a certain way. Yes, you have to respond in a certain way. It ain't saying you can't respond. It's always been one-sided. You got to respond in a certain way. Yes, you have to respond in a certain way. It ain't saying you can't respond. You just got to be politically correct with your response. Well, sometimes when somebody says something,
Starting point is 01:54:33 they take you out of that politically correct box. Talking a certain way on social, where they start to act tough and shit, and then you pull up on them, and that whole demeanor changes. So I used to be anti-burner. Then I really started to understand Yeah, there's a strategy to it. why he has the burner-burner, then I really started to understand AD and why he has the burner. Some of them just want to talk crazy to somebody and not have to worry about it.
Starting point is 01:54:50 But you have to be discreet with your burners. You can't use the same email addresses. You can't be mixing them up either. Gmail, you can make a thousand email addresses a day. That's too much. Just be one. I'm going to say what I got to say. I'm going to stand on my shit, on my platform.
Starting point is 01:55:02 Because you can't get fined. That's can't get fined. And that's why I always hate, stop penalizing the reactor. Penalize the actor first. If Rapper Porche should be able to get fined, if he can't get fined, Katie can't get fined. Because you make it too easy to irritate the athlete. It's always been one sided. It's always been one sided. Oh, we didn't have social media then.
Starting point is 01:55:22 But we had. It's always been one sided. You know what I'm saying? It's always been that way. You guys are Oh, we didn't have social media then. Yeah, but we had, we've always been one-sided. You know what I'm saying? Mm-hmm. It's always been that way. You guys are always to blame. But we gotta be the bigger man too. We've always been the bigger man. We always had to be.
Starting point is 01:55:34 Except for your ass. Your ass. Who fed it. But most of the time we talk about it. Granted your background, granted how you grew up, granted what you got going on now.
Starting point is 01:55:42 You always, as athletes and entertainers, whoever it is, you always been held to a high standard. You're supposed to be here when, not supposed to stoop to normal, to, I'm saying that to the, but. You're supposed to not be human, yeah. But people human though, but people human.
Starting point is 01:55:58 That's just not human. And that's just always like, if you hit me in my chest, you can't expect me to hit hit me in my chest, you can't expect me to hit you back in your chest. You know what I'm saying? Like that's just the way it is. Like you say something to me,
Starting point is 01:56:10 I'm gonna say something back that's worse. That's just how I grew up where it is. Some people grew up, you know what I'm saying? So it was a learned behavior for me that I probably shouldn't tweet. Like I probably shouldn't. So I knew, like, I said some years ago and I was like, you know what? Yeah. That's the last
Starting point is 01:56:31 time for this. You know what I'm saying? Like, and DMs, I got to the point where I'm trying to grow up at 45. At 45, I'm still trying to grow up in a lot of aspects, but I just I've never been a turn-the-other-cheek kind of a guy. Neither has Gilbert.
Starting point is 01:56:50 But the thing I respect and appreciate about you, people say some wild shit. So my first inclination always, all right, let me research you. This person's at work history. I do that. Just in case the pull-up is necessary, Rashad, you never know. Why? They're not that important. They're not that important. Rashad, you got children.
Starting point is 01:57:06 Rashad. But I'm just saying, the death threats, the wild shit, like, all right, just in case it does get out of hand. We've been here too long. We've been dealing with this shit for too long. I've been dealing with this shit since I was 15, so it don't bother me. Yeah, well, guess what? Especially now that it's moved to social media, they got direct access.
Starting point is 01:57:21 It's like, let me hear what you got to say. Which is? Delete! It's gone forever now like you don't exist so bring me all the work you got give me everything you got to say so i can push this one button it says delete all the block button is your friend have you ever blocked anybody oh you're a better man than me, cuz. I've blocked a lot of people. I haven't blocked no one. After I get my shit off, then I'm a blocker. It's a part of our business.
Starting point is 01:57:49 But I'll block them, and let's say they're a fan of a team or whatever, I'll just start posting content here towards that team, so everybody else they know will start hitting it, and just constantly bombard their shit just to remind them that I blocked their ass. Block, block, motherfucker. There's something about saying something about my child, though. That right there. Nah, that's the easy ass, but. Block, block, motherfucker. There's something about saying something about my child, though. Like, that right there. Nah, that's the easy one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:58:08 That's the easy trigger. That's the one I don't use. That's the one I got to work on because I can ignore things. I can block and talk shit. But when somebody says something about my child, it makes me think that you're trying your best to play with me. Yeah. You don't know me.
Starting point is 01:58:24 You are playing with me now. That's the one I don't go for. I know that one. I know that trick. Yeah, to play with me. Yeah. You don't know me. You are playing with me now. That's the one I don't go for. I know that one. I know that trick. Yeah, you playing with me. Yeah, like, ah, that ain't the one that's going to get me there. You don't know me, though. They don't know us.
Starting point is 01:58:33 How can they even get close to our emotional well-being? They don't know. I don't know you, bro. It's not about emotional well-being. Relax. So somebody had something to say on my page when I came in here with the whole Julius Randall thing. Some chick had something to say. So I went on her page.
Starting point is 01:58:48 She had a baby suit. Her stomach was distraught. I went in there. I said something about it. She was like, oh, you reached deep for that one. She laughed, though. Like, yeah, I'm not the one. Oh, absolutely.
Starting point is 01:58:59 I'm going to keep you honest now. You say something about it. And what you said has something to do with mine. Watch this magic. Watch this magic. with my, I watch this magic. Watch this magic. Watch this magic. Oh, shit, you reached deep for that one. When I see guys will come on my page or something
Starting point is 01:59:13 and call me ugly or say like, oh, you need to eat a sandwich, like, you know, all kinds of little jokes. I look on their page, I be like, look what you married. Like, you can't say a fucking, you can't ever in your life call me ugly ever again. Look at your bitch. Yes, you can't say a fucking, you can't ever in your life call me ugly ever again. Look at your bitch.
Starting point is 01:59:26 Yes. And then look at me. No, the funniest thing is when they beat it, like, it has, like, zero followers and zero. Yeah. It's like, oh, you responded to a fake page. Yeah. You's a real person. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:59:40 I don't give a fuck what you talking about. This is a real, this ain't no robot. Yeah. Fuck you. Don't make a new one. God damn it. You the one that had to make a about. This ain't no robot. I don't know what to do. Fuck you. Go make a new one. God damn it. You don't want to have to make a fake because you ain't real enough. The wild shit is a lot of times it be people you know.
Starting point is 01:59:52 When it's those smaller accounts, the people got a gripe with you or they just talk to you and they can't say it from their regular account. That's called a burner account. Ain't that goes full circle about what we're talking about? Sometimes just random people that's bitter. People are using burner accounts to attack us. But sometimes it's somebody you know who got the burn somebody you know Gavin a fake page and coming on your page talking personal shit there you know maybe somebody
Starting point is 02:00:13 close to you I'll be rich I don't imagine some of the shit that you didn't sent the people said to people you say you're gonna matter I could only imagine yeah, cuz some shit you say publicly Imagine hey, bro, this is this DM bro. Listen, I know that they got a Rico case on me You too this I feel you to be you be going back and forth and then you hit me with like a shush Yeah $10,000 you go to his house right now his is that just oh Be on a 20-month minute. Starting point is 02:04:47 King? It was before him, but it took like a rocket. A.I. King. Took off like a rocket. We were like the Beatles on the road, dog. So, it was a group of us. So, there'd be some cities where it'd be three parties going on and we like...
Starting point is 02:04:55 J.R.? No, it was just... Come on, man. We was... You know. We was the life. We was the life. We was the life.
Starting point is 02:05:03 We was the life. We was the life. We was the life. We was the life. We was the life. We was the life. It'll be three parties going on and we like... J.R.? No, it was just... Come on, man. We was... You know. What was the life of the party for y'all group? Who was that nigga who was like, oh, here you go, turn it up? Oh, no, you know, you got to watch J.R. at times.
Starting point is 02:05:16 I'm doing it. J.R. was the one. At times. Out of that group. He knew who... But no, we all... It wasn't just him. Like, hey, now, you might be somebody different tomorrow.
Starting point is 02:05:24 You got all this nigga, here he go. No but no, we all, it wasn't just him. Like, hey now, you might be somebody different tomorrow. You got all this nigga here, here he go tonight. Like, but no, it was it. No, it was, it was, it was a group. Yeah, I thought about it. It was like you already had Melo, JR, and you, did you add Chuck?
Starting point is 02:05:37 Did you add Chuck to that mix? Fucking Chuck. Yes, yeah. Yeah. So just imagine. That's a squad. We was doing it before that, then he came and it just because I listen I've been DC and Philly is not close. Not close for him to be on game the day before the game in the DC club.
Starting point is 02:05:56 Absolutely. Party. I love him to death. Sleep. Let's go. Knocked out. Like they play tomorrow. 42.
Starting point is 02:06:04 42. 42. Like, man, it's 42. Like, when people be like, yeah, well, we gonna bet against this team because they been drinking all night. That shit don't work. That ain't no basketball shit. As long as I get that, listen, after shoot around, I get that nap. Good to go.
Starting point is 02:06:21 Shower, nap, pre-game meal. Good. I'm finna go put foot to ass, man. I tell people all the time, man. I enjoy every minute of my time on the floor. And off. And off. Let me tell y'all, this Gronk came into Miami, played the Dolphins.
Starting point is 02:06:38 It was a big game. We needed to win the game to get to the playoffs and all this shit. And my girlfriends hit me up. They was like, yo, we out at this bar and Gronk is here or whatever. I was like, get him fucked up. Stay out on, keep this thing out. There was no curfew. You don't have curfew, like nothing.
Starting point is 02:06:56 The game is the next day at one o'clock. You know, it's hot, humid, all that shit. And I'm thinking to myself, like if they could just fuck him up all night, we going to be good the next day, right? So my friends hit me like four o'clock in the morning, like yo, we tired of drinking, this nigga is still trying. They said we'd open three bars, and he like, come on, he trying to fuck and everything, all of them.
Starting point is 02:07:18 Like he trying to get it done. They told me they was out with him all night getting fucked up, drunk, coke, all kind of shit. Do you know that man came into that game and put ass to whatever you say. He put his hands on us. Still humid, 99 degrees, hot. He still came and just dogged us and won the game. That shit don't work.
Starting point is 02:07:43 And I thought afterwards, like, oh, that's what his Saturday night routine, y'all just fed into it. Like, that's what he does to get him going. I was like, what the fuck? That's what I said, it don't work. A player just need about four hours, be good. But the game is at one. It don't matter.
Starting point is 02:07:56 You talk until four in the morning. Yeah, we put Denver on his head. Huh? We turned Denver upside down, dog. Yeah, I'm sure. Like, that small city wasn't ready. It wasn't ready for us at all. When I say it wasn't ready, the whole city had to adjust, man.
Starting point is 02:08:16 Everybody had to adjust to us being there. Because everywhere we went, every night, it was a party. No matter where we went, we were hanging out at Dave and Buster's, dawg. Turned into a club. Turned into the... By the pool table, sitting right there. Every night is party like no matter what we were hanging out at Dave and Buster's dog By the pool table say right there we're not everybody Somebody didn't call one person next her car and that wind a bus out and this was a after the season. It was a daily Hang out So when Dave Buster they look today turn the lights on this is it is just certain there's certain there's certain dues that just because of their how big they are when they go, it's...

Because my dad used to do that with the Jordans. He just printed his own colorway. So that's why I'm looking. These come straight from China.
Starting point is 02:10:22 Oh, so that's what's... Straight from China. I'm just reading, brother. You can read all you got the fake Jordans? This comes straight from China. Oh, so that's what's... Starting point is 02:10:40 I'm so happy you did that. So when you said they're my own, I'm like, what do you mean your own? What they say on the back is... Those are not Jordans. See, that's what I'm saying. I didn't... What they. So when you said they're my own, I'm like, what do you mean your own? What'd they say on the back? Those are not Jordans. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:10:47 I didn't. What'd they say on the back? Greatness. Just like my shirt. So it is not Jordans. What did I just say? How many times you got to say it? Yeah, but it's a Jordan shirt.
