Episode Date: May 26, 2026The NBA Playoff's WILD Weekend LIGHTS UP Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew reacts to the NBA Finals shaping up as the New York Knicks punched their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time since ...1999 and the San Antonio Spurs got back on track by evening up the series against the OKC Thunder and pushed the Western Conference Finals into a best of 3 game series. They tip things off by breaking down Games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference finals and discuss how Victor Wembanyama is changing his game to counter the hostile strategy from the Thunder before debating if Shai Gilgeous Alexander is being officiated fairly during this series as the NBA MVP has yet to show up in a big way against the Spurs. They also react to Chet Holmgren being held in check by his rival the alien and debate if the Thunder will bounce back with such little help for SGA as Chet, Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell have all struggled to stay on the court. Next, they react to the New York Knicks finishing off the sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to the NBA Finals and debate where this Knicks' playoff run ranks all time as New York has glided through the NBA Playoffs, ripping off 11 straight wins since going down 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks. They also discuss where Jalen Brunson sits amongst New York Knicks legends as the superstar point guard put the city on his back and debate if the team should be considered bigger contenders for the NBA Title as they rest up and wait for the Spurs and Thunder. They also break down what went wrong for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they went out sorry and debate if the team should blow it up after James Harden & Donovan Mitchell proved they do not have enough juice to overcome the best in the East. Finally, they react to the announcement of the All NBA Teams and debate who were the biggest winners and losers in the league's placement of their top 15 players. I'm merely a host, Josiah Johnson.

We got NBA champion of the world.
Swaggy Pete, Nick Young.
I went to the same place.
Wimby went to.
You with the monks?
Yeah.
I was up there.
Darkness retreats?
Yeah.
Dribbling balls through the temples and all that.
I see.
I seen the spots, you know.
I was going to go ball like he did, but they say you have to be there for a certain amount of time.
Okay.
You didn't hit that threshold.
Yeah.
We're going to talk about your time in China in just a moment, but on this side of the couch,
representing tough crowd and a car carrying country club member.
We got Mr. B, Brandon Jennings.
And last but not least,
The man they call Cemetery Larry, NCAA Champion of the World, Dr. Rashop McCamp's Ph.D.
Go Spurs, go.
That was easy.
Still just two, too, though.
That was easy.
The double.
We try new shit every day.
Ian my man.
That's my man.
Shout out to Ian, Carlos, Sebastian, rest of the crew in the back.
Making things crack.
We got a lot to get into today.
Here's what's cracking in Gil's Arena.
So Spurs, even things up.
with their game four win over the Thunder, but which squad is taking the pivotal game
five, winners of game five when the series tied two two.
Going to win the series nearly 82% of the time.
We will discuss New York in the finals for the first time this century after sweeping
their second straight series.
Is it time to stop sleeping on these Knicks?
A lot of people don't think they have a chance in the finals.
They think the winner of the Spurs and Thunder series will go on to get the ring.
We will discuss.
And the all NBA teams dropped this weekend, but did the voters get it right?
Some of those people are on the team.
Some are not.
We will get into that.
But before we do, as always, this show is brought to you by Underdog.

So Swaggy, very excited to have you back in the country, in the mainland.
You're getting yourself into all type of things across the world in the far east corner of the world
The average human being don't have time to travel that far, but you have basketball camps a journey for black and mild
A spiritual black and mild quest
I found some you found some they were just called black
No mile, okay, just some blacks
You also did some fishing. Let's take a look at that if we can
You in the water
What?
Decided to dunk a fish.
What's the water is that?
Water is that?
What color is that water?
Yeah, what?
We were saving water.
It was like oil and stuff.
It was saving the water.
You were saving the water.
I mean, we were saving the fish.
I was trying to save them.
Trying to get them out the oil as fast as I can.
And put them back into the oil.
Look like bath water.
Definitely like old bath.
Don't look like, don't look safe.
You know, they like,
they actually do I want to go fishing really.
And I was like, yeah, man.
And I got there, and they were saying he had to pick it up and grab the fish ourselves.
I thought he was going to go like regular fishing.
But like they drain the river just like deep enough where you could like grab them when the fish can't go nowhere.
Barehanded fish?
Drane the river.
And if you had to sell that fish out.
I had to sell it to the locals out there.
How much?
Free.
I just got it.
But no cell.
There ain't no cell.
Just take this out my hand.
Just go ahead and take it, man.
Ain't no tell them what's in this shit.
Don't blame me.
You get sick, you get sick.
You got it for free.
What kind of fish were?
That's why I was a little worried about.
I thought, like, do they bite?
Because, you know, you got to grab this big ass.
Somebody had a fish like this big.
Catfish is in there.
Bearbacking the fish.
Had some catfish.
Got fish?
A little trout.
A little trout.
A little trout.
You ain't no snowfish with no snowfish over there?
Nah.
No snowfish?
Puffer fish, they have a puffer fish.
A little puffer fish.
Yeah, yeah, it got a little tang to it.
Yeah, a little thong, a little thang tanger.
Yeah, a little puffer, you can't puff on a puffer now.
But on all in all, no, good trip in China, Swanky?
Yeah.
Those are my people out there.
Okay.
I'm mixed with a little Chinese.
You're mixed with a little bit?
He said he was eating duck.
He said he was eating duck rabbit.
I ate it.
They had a squirrel head, like you go, if they pop the squirrel head up, you got to get the tongue, eat the cheeks.
Fire.
Fire.
Fire.
Just roll that shit around.
Let me tell you, roll it around.
Okay.
Bring it off.
Just give me the rice.
Thank you.
Just give me the soy sauce and rice.
I'm going to give you the chicken, cut the head, put the head right there.
Put the duck head right there.
Let's go.
Some saratra on there.
Chicken feast snacks.
A little saracha on there.
We're good.
We're good to go.
Well, Swaggy, good to have you back in the country and back on this couch.
So we're going to talk about the NICS making their first NBA finals since 1999 and just a few.
But let's start in the West with the more competitive conference finals.
Game three saw the Spurs jump out to a 15-0 lead, which was the longest run to open a conference finals game in the play-by-play era.
But the Thunder responded with a 58-36 run, take a seven-point lead at the break, never looked back.
SGA went schoolless in the first.
quarter in free throw list in the first half. Still finished with 26 points and 12
assists. He was 12 for 12 from the line in the second half. Jared McCain led a
dominant performance by the Thunder bench putting up a playoff high. 24 points. Thunder
were without Jaylon Williams who missed the game with left hamstring soreness,
but the other Jaylon Williams had 18 points. Alex Caruso added 15.
OkC's bench outscored San Antonio 76 23. Thunder won their second straight
following their double overtime loss in game one. Took a 2-1 series lead. After
That game, Wimby said he had trouble making his teammates better, needed to be more of a team player.
And Greg Popovich came into the locker room right after the game for the first time this season,
lit the squad up with some choice words to get them back on track.
Spurs hadn't lost three straight games all season.
Sunday they made sure that street continued.
Let's take a look at the highlights.
If we can, please.
So Spurs put together a defensive masterclass in this one.
Winby opened the game with a three-pointed Thunderwere.
Once again, without Jalen Williams, we're also missing A.J. Mitchell as well, game was back and forth early on as Isaiah Hardenstein hit four straight floaters to pace the thunder.
But then the Spurs went on a 16-0 run to take a 15-point lead with just over four minutes remaining in the first frame.
Thunder closed the gap, trailing by nine heading into the second quarter.
Wimby scored or assisted on 17 of San Antonio's 28 first quarter points.
Both teams struggled to find their offense in the second quarter combining for just.
41 points in the frame.
Thunder cut the deficit to five points with a little over a minute remaining.
But then the Spurs went on a 7-0 run.
As Wimby finished the first half with a bang, as you see right here,
pulling up from Half Court, the longest shot of his career.
Spurs continued to pile it on in the third quarter,
leading by as much as 25 points.
Carried an 18-point lead into the final frame.
Wimby finished with 33 points, 8 boards, 5 assists in three blocks.
Alien was 11 for 22 from the field, 8 for 9 from the line.
Also a game high plus 29.
Devin Vassell and Stefan Castle each had 13 points,
combining for nine rebounds and nine assists.
Castle committed just one turnover for the second straight game
after having 20 in the first two games of this series,
while Aaron Fox added 12 points, 10 boards, and five assists.
SGA was held to just 19 points on 6 of 15 shooting.
It was his first time scoring less than 20 points in this series,
And all but one of his 15 fieldgo attempts were contested as the Spurs defense smothered the back-to-back MVP.
Isaiah Hardinstein added 12 and 7 boards and Chet Homer had 10 and 9 rebounds.
Spurs held the thunder.
Their season lows of 82 points on 33% shooting, including 6 of 33 from 3.
Spurs' offense wasn't much better.
They shot 39%, 27% from distance.
But San Antonio plus 12 in points off turnovers, plus 11 in fast rate points, and plus 14 in points in points in the paint.
Now the series shifts back to OKC for Game 5
and what is now a best of three series.
Here was reaction from both sides after the game.
We didn't do nothing unexpected,
but the truth is that we had never been in this kind of situation before.
It was our first deficit in a playoff series.
And we just responded, but it was nothing amazing.
It wasn't magic.
We just did what we needed to do,
and the series is far from over.
We got six more wins before.
We can rest.
Yeah, they just punched us in our face early.
There's two games in the road.
They've come out the aggressors.
Last game we were able to course correct tonight.
We just didn't do so.
Yeah, we just got to do a better job with starting the games.
Obviously, it's a little bit more challenging when you're on the road, and we know that.
But we got to go out there and do it if we want to win games, especially against the team not good.
So this is the first time Thunder failed to score 90 points in the game since 20 points in the game since 20.
90 points in the game since 2022.
Skip, biggest takeaways from the Spurs,
Game 4 win in the Western Conference Finals.
I fear I'm about to be in Larry's Cemetery.
Just to reiterate, I did pick Thunder and 7,
and I posted immediately after Game 4
a confession that bordered upon a concession.
Because I've got,
little to no chance without my second and third best scores and more important my second and third
best ball handlers. I'm down to one ball handler and I'll get to him in just a moment. But if you take
away Jalen Williams, who's gone with two hamstring pulls, he was an all star last year. He was
second team all defense, and I'm going to remind you that the Thunder last year in the conference
finals in game three at Minnesota lost 143 to 101. They lost by 42. And what happened the next game,
game four at Minnesota? Jalen Williams scored 34, but SGA was able to score 40 because he scored
34. You had a one-two thunder lightning punch. What happened in game five? You talked about. Game five's
always tell the tale. What happened in the NBA finals last year in game five, again, at Oklahoma City?
Jalen Williams scored 40 points. He's gone. And who rose and shown against your Lakers in the
previous round, those four games? This kid, A.J. Mitchell, he's got star quality to him. He averaged
23 a game against the Lakers in the previous round. He's gone with a calf pull, and my strength
with cap pulls. I don't know about you guys, but they're just
bitches. You just, once it goes,
you're just not going to get it back
in three or four days.
I'm sorry, he's gone.
And I know nobody's
talking about this because nobody wants to
detract from or discredit
the rise of the alien.
They want the alien to be
the greatest player we've ever seen.
And I give you that off
game one and game four
because he was that.
But now I get to the
back-to-back MVP, Che Gilles Alexander. If you take away my second and third score and my second
and third ball handler, then SGA is going to have to bring the ball up the floor nearly every single
time. And once he crosses half court, this is the NBA's overreaction to the runaway internet
outrage over SGA free throw merchant, which I, this is just me and I'm a thunder fan, but I don't
I don't see it, I don't get it, but whatever.
The overreaction by the NBA is to make sure that the referees allow Stefan Castle to play football against SGA at half court.
Football, flat out football.
He can attack him, he can ram him, he can bodybag him, he can do whatever he wants.
He can hack him across the arms out away from the basket.
And, yep, Stefan Castle has had five fouls each of the last two games.
but it should have been 25 fouls
because it's every single time.
I have never witnessed anything like it.
It got so crazy last night.
I tweeted, this just in,
Stefan Castle just made the Pro Bowl.
The Pro Bowl is the NFL,
All-Star Team.
That's what he just made.
He just made the Pro Bowl
because he deserves to be in the Pro Bowl.
He's the reincarnation of Ronnie Lott.
I don't know.
He's just playing bully ball football on SGA.
and he's just going to get worn down.
So the combination of SGA or bust,
I'm going to remind you, game one,
how quickly you forget,
but game one of this series,
what happened?
Jaylon Williams actually played in that game.
Guess who handled the ball the most
in that game for the Thunder?
Jalen Williams had it 35% of the time.
SGA had it 28% of the time.
Okay, so he's a big-time ball handler creator.
He can get his own whenever he wants to get his own.
And I do remind you at the end of the first overtime in game one, it was crucial.
The last two shots were taken and missed, but taken by Jalen Williams.
That's how big a deal he is to that basketball team that is now having to play football.
And so, you know, I just don't love my pick anymore.
And the truth is, I will be surprised if the Thunder win game five.
I will be surprised because the visiting team should win game five.
I'll still rude, I'll still, I'll pick them, I'll still say that when, but I don't know how
because they are up against it and the spurs are going to come in with huge momentum and they're
going to be smelling six, be over and six, go home and take care of business.
So I just don't love what I'm seeing.
Swaggy, let's shift over to you.
Oh man
I say the game just being physical
Like
Like Skip said
My man's just playing football out there
But he is making an impact on the game
He is having the biggest impact
With every game I see a different poster
And it's scary
But they do allow
I feel like the NBA allows
When me to do whatever he wants
Out there
Allow the spurs a foul whenever they want
I know the team, it feel like you know who they want to win and be in the finals, for sure.
And it shows from the whole series, from the last series, the way somebody could elbow
somebody like that and nothing happens, no repercussions.
So you know who you want and they know who they won't.
But OKC is under, man.
When you lose AJ 2, I feel like that hurts.
another guy that's been averaging 13, 14 points.
He was averaging 16 at one point during the season without J-dub.
And that's just another guy that can put the ball in the hole.
I would say the way they're laying the spurs play out there on defense is crazy.
So, Swahy, previous series, that was the criticism of OKC.
Wait a minute, Joe.
Let me introduce this point.
Please don't steal my glory moment.
Let Brandon go.
Please don't steal my glow.
It just seems like there's some flippings.
There's some flippooribbing.
Some flippage and some floppage.
But let's shift over to you, Mr. B.
What are your biggest takeaways from the Spurs,
Game 4 win over the Thunder to tie this series up to 2-2
heading back to OKC?
It was joyful, joyful.
You know, they brought the nuns out.
The nuns were blessed.
You know, they run Scott Foster out.
Scott Foster was extended.
Sister Act, too, type of atmosphere going on.
Sister Mary Klan?
A lot of joyful, joyful.
You know, what I can't take away from it, O.K.C. didn't shoot well.
SGA, he is struggling from the field.
Right now, he's shooting 27% from the three.
You know, the way Chet's plan is definitely making SGA have to do a lot more.
The Spurs, the Spurs are 11-0 during the regular season when they hold teams under 90 and 6-0.
when they hold teams under 100 points.
So that's what they did last, the other night.
But I got to give it to the coaching staff.
I feel like the coaching staff came in,
made great adjustments, kept Wembeard,
away from roaming around with Caruso,
keeping them inside the paint.
But yeah, man, OKC, I feel like, you know,
they got one.
They did what they were supposed to do.
They are down some players,
but I'm not counting OKC out of this.
McCain didn't shoot well.
Caruso didn't have a good game.
either he didn't shoot well either so those shots will fall back at home
this is a this is a championship team and you know they are 9 and 0 when they do lose
a game so you know I can see them winning game 5 being 10 and 0 so this is going to go 7
they're fine and yeah I wouldn't put too much on it so no jaylin williams no a jitchell
game 4 a j mitchell already ruled out for game 5 jaylon williams question but like we talked
about these hamstring injuries can be very tricky the spurs defense held the thunder with 33
from the field, 18% from three.
Do you feel like that's going to be an issue now heading into the game fight?
Because they're locking up.
I mean, both physicality, whatever we want to say.
I mean, both teams didn't shoot well, so at the end of day.
So I'm just taking it like that.
Both teams issue well, and McCain's, he's going to knock down shots.
So, yeah, it was joyful, joyful.
Last but not least, our resident Spurs fan, Dr. Rashon McKin's PhD.
That was easy.
Biggest takeaways from the Spurs game.
for went over the Thunder. Memories from yesterday.
Seeing that I'm the only spur supporter here,
as you just hear a bunch of crying and cry babies and excuses and explaining
and a bunch of shit that don't make sense when we're going to talk hoop, right?
We're going to talk hoop for a second.
The beginning of the season, middle of the season,
and near the tail end of the season like you brought up,
the OKC Thunder was a full-on football team.
Full-on.
everybody complained about them being a football team
why is they why can they play so aggressive with us on defense
and we can't touch them on offense that was the complaint all season
every team we can't guard them but they can guard us they can hold us
lewd dort is the castle okay i'm trying to i'm so confused
lou dort is literally a hall of famer football player
castle may be pro bowl but lu dort is a hall of famer
So now that it's even, no one likes it.
Game two, Harper and Fox didn't play.
Do you remember that really correctly?
Two guys didn't play.
They lost that game.
Then they lost game three.
There was no excuses on our part about not having our two ball handlers.
I had nine turnovers.
11 in the first game, nine in the second game, a total of 20.
The last two games, he has two with two turnovers.
Two total.
Okay, that's called an adjustment.
I think I was fighting tooth and nail against two motherfucklers on this couch
about making adjustments from the coach and not having the player just say,
no, I need to do better.
No, we need to take the ball out of your hands,
allow our primary ball handlers to handle the ball,
and we're going to get better results.
Game four looked a lot better because we made an ultimate adjustment
after Greg Popovich came in and told everybody you're playing like punks.
Even Mitch Johnson.
You're coaching like a punk, Mitch.
Get out of this double team shit.
Let's stop doing that.
Let's stop double teaming SGA because, listen, he can't really get by our guys like that,
especially if they play without fouling.
Number one, the big adjustment when you're talking hoop is we're now going to close out on all of their shooters.
The shooters that were making those shots before were not making.
those shots this time because of close outs. We stop the gap. We call it elbows and boxes.
Play close to your guy, shoot the gaps, close out to your man and make him do what? Make them
drive to the paint. Guess who's in the paint when you drive it? The Terminator. You don't even
want to shoot now. Now when you watch the game back, you see everyone driving from closeouts and
then kicking again because Wimby's down there.
Ultimate adjustment when you talk at who?
Offensively, we don't need to shoot the ball that well
because our main guy made his own personal adjustment.
How to get your team involved more is for you to be more aggressive.
33 points.
We're talking about ultimate aggression against two guys who don't want no parts of you.
Let's even it up.
Scott Foster, I appreciate you.
Because we got Tony brothers tonight, so we already know it's a different side of the coin.
But when you want a referee to let the game go the way it's been going all season long,
Scott Foster let the game go.
He let everybody play.
Oh, you don't like it when he does this to your player, but you've been doing this to our player.
Okay, so Harkinstein can do the football shit on Wemby, but we can't do the football shit on Shay.
Because she's a two-time MVP
Is football shit?
100%
Because, you know, Wemby's soft
According to Charles Barkley
It's just being soft, right?
Yeah
But SGA flops, flails
Every single play
Falls on the ground, not even touched.
But all of a sudden,
Castle's a football player
Because he's playing real hoop
With SGA.
You're going to have to get by me
With your counter moves now.
There's no just foul baiting.
Where's your bag at?
Make me play deep.
Defense five fouls. I got six and if you're that good I'm gonna use all of them tonight you'll have 15 foul
We hope so long as the 15 files lead to a w. Yeah, we ain't tripping first 32 free throws in that game to okay C's 18
My main question to skip is this
Hmm as an MVP your number's supposed to go up or down in production
Darnes mm hmm yeah because I know one guy's for
production goes up. The other guy's production has went down in this particular series,
which is the most important series because we're five and one, four and one against you guys.
So you need to be bouncing back and prove into the world that that was a fluke.
So the last four games, your production has went down abysm.
Okay, well, you're MVP in game three. Do you remember that? You just flash out to a 15 to nothing lead.
and from that point on at home,
you get outscored 123 to 93.
From that point on, at home,
you got outscored by 30 points.
And the alien managed four total rebounds in that game.
Did his production go up from each game?
Did it go up?
What are his averages?
Want me to tell you his averages?
Four.
He got four rebounds in a whole basketball game.
He's averaging 30 points.
16 boards.
Yep.
on 59% from the field, 38% from the three.
Yep, he's really good.
That goes up, right?
You know what your guy's averaging?
Yeah.
Okay.
So since you know, and the fans may not know, 24, 10 assists, three rebounds,
38%, 39% from the field, like 26%, 27% percent, 27%
from the three?
Mm.
Sounds like he's being
bothered.
But he is the solo star
and you got a whole bunch
of good players.
Did you say solo star in that?
Yeah.
Did you say solo?
Mm-hmm.
That sounds like an excuse to me.
Check me.
Third team all NBA.
He doesn't have another all-MBA player on it.
Third team all-N-BA.
Is he not a...
Robin?
Mm.
Okay.
You're making excuses, man.
I don't mean to cook
because I didn't bring the crop
pot, but
I want everybody,
know I'm a doctor at all times and this gets surgical anytime I ask for it to.
But we just talking hoop right now.
And I just want to make sure that this is a hoop talk.
This is hoop talk to.
I'm going to make the point that the spurs have now shot 17 more free throws than the thunder.
So the free throw merchant is not getting to the free throw line anymore than the alien is.
Exactly.
I wonder why.
When we get to the playoffs, you know why?
You become regular.
They're not to know off losing.
I'll tell you why.
They bounce back.
Because the NBA does not want the Oklahoma City Thunder to steal basketball again.
They weren't gone.
So why did they give them two MVP's?
Well, that doesn't matter to the finals.
But it matters to the NBA.
Yeah, to the record.
When you could have gave it to somebody.
Not postseason.
So we're going to blame it on the NBA now?
Okay.
The networks.
They don't want the thunder.
Blame it on the alcohol, too.
Shout out to Jamie Fox if you're watching.
I know you're mad.
Blame it on the alcohol.
What you're going to blame it on next, man?
Skip, you traded on the Spurs and you're going to feel the karma of it.
Three years ago, you made the worst decision of your life.
You decided to go over there instead of stay home where you started?
I haven't been a Spurs fan for at least 10 years.
It's unfortunate.
Skip, why did you become a Spurs fan?
What did I become in the beginning?
George Gervin.
Okay.
So why?
I explained that the other day.
I said you've been a Spursa for at least 10 years from George Gervyn.
Was the impetus for this?
George Gervyn.
I haven't been for 10 years.
Oh, haven't been.
Haven't been for 10 years.
Because we were going through transitions and he wanted to jump ship.
And now he's on the wrong ship going on the wrong direction.
Well, I just went home.
I told you guys, I tried to love the thunder in 2012 until,
Kevin Durant went after me, then Russell Westbrook went after me, and I go home to cover the 2012
finals, and I need 24-7 bodyguard in my hometown.
That's what I needed, because I got so many death threats from Oklahoma City fans,
and I'm in my high school hall of fame and in the City Hall of Fame, and I'm getting death threats.
Okay, so that's why I couldn't love the 2012 Thunder.
Had to check in your home time, okay.
But something changed, because you back.
Oh, so that's hometown.
Okay.
Something changed.
Yeah, I get it.
Something changed because you're back.
What happened to that 2012 undersweds?
They lost to the heat in the finals.
In five, it should have probably been in four.
You must have took some of that compound V.
You're ready now.
You're good.
They can't get you now because you're comfortable walking through OKC now.
Yeah, I am very comfortable, but I'm not comfortable with the team
because if you guys had lost Dearen Fox and Dylan Harper for the duration,
we would be having a different conversation right now.
Yes, that would be an excuse on our part, right?
No, it would just be a valid excuse.
Oh, it's just things that happen in hoop, though, Skip.
You know what happens in hoop injuries?
Unfortunate injuries.
Is Jalen Williams any good? Help me out.
Yes, he's very good.
Yeah, he's really good.
Second team all defense last year.
Okay.
What did you see against the Lakers from A.J. Mitchell?
What did you see?
Very good player.
I saw a left-hand dynamo right there with Dylan.
Harper, to me, create, get to the hoop. He can shoot threes. He's really good. And he can handle
the basketball and create his own shot. Now I'm down to one shot creator on the whole team.
And he is getting bully balled by Stefan Castle, who is built to play football. He is built to play
football. There's one time basketball when we talk about hoop is called Next Man Up. And when you say your
team is a championship built team that's won the championship.
The guys on that bench have to look at the guys who are no longer there and say,
makes man up because Jared McCain, a group guy, savvy can play.
He's crafty.
He knows how to get a bucket.
But guess what?
We on top of that.
We ain't having that.
Hey, Cason Wallace, baby boy.
He missed shots.
Baby boy.
Oh, okay, see, you got to do is take care of home.
They will.
No, listen.
They will. They'll get calls. They'll get calls at home.
They're going to make them same shots, dog.
I think okay, see what's fine.
Go, go seven, take care of home.
Check, just got to.
Check, that's it.
This is the fourth time.
This is the fourth time I've heard that.
Hey, dude.
Fourth time I can hear in Chet needs to do this.
That's the first point I agree with that you've made all day.
This is the fourth time.
This is the fifth time tonight.
And you say, Arkansas can go in and do this thing.
We need something from check.
I agree.
You need to take the challenge.
That's why SGA is.
struggling from the field.
That's why?
No, that's because of the rails.
You're making up.
That Fond Castle locking that shit up.
Wendley were being fouled up.
Carter was being fouled out.
Carter Bryant, locking that shit up.
Castle with a foul out the game by half-tide.
They're switching on that Vaseel locking that shit up.
All right.
Let's talk.
Real quick.
Dillon Harper locking that shit up.
Okay, hear the facts from the odds makers.
Game one in Oklahoma City, the Thunder were favored by six
and a half points. That's pretty significant favorites, okay? Game two would go up to seven and a half
after your guys won game one. It goes to seven and a half, Oklahoma City by seven and a half in
game two, and Oklahoma City won and covered the point spread, winning by nine. Then tonight,
it opened at five and a half, and the betting public is all over your squad. And it's down to four
and a half and watch. By game time, it'll go down to three and a half because everybody is saying
the alien has landed.
He has arrived.
Why? All I remember is
when we lost game three,
the group chat went in.
Oh, it's over. Oh, my God, it's over.
Oh, man. Oh, pack it up.
McCarrants on Tuesday. We go...
You don't think it's over?
I don't feel that energy.
You don't think it's over?
I don't feel that same energy.
Well, I wasn't here, so we could bet.
I don't feel the same energy.
Okay, see, listen, they just didn't make shots.
We got what we named.
We came to do.
We got one.
Now we're going to go home,
take care of game five.
We're getting calls.
We definitely going to get calls there.
Game six,
let's just figure it out.
The fans love,
they love their darling team, the Spurs.
They don't want them to get beat this.
You said the Spurs.
They love them.
They were not even going to be better than the Rockets.
I got the clips.
I got all the receipts, Nick.
Who's where?
Cancone was hurt.
Western Congress.
We didn't got past.
We ain't got nothing to do with none of that.
We here.
there. Lunchtime baller. They are. Lunchtime. Guess what it is now? Tied up. Dinner time.
It's tied up in the West. Daddy's home. Tied up in the food. That'll go. We're going to make more
money with the spurs. It's tied up two too too. Go make more money with the spurs. Let them go.
Yeah, let them go. Daddy's home. I still haven't heard a prediction from you.
I keep trying to. Seven. Didn't I say seven? I don't know. I haven't heard seven. I don't know. I haven't
seven. Seven. Seven. Seven. Seven.
We're going seven.
Okay, that means...
I respect O KC enough to say we have seven in us.
Okay, so you're saying Oklahoma City wins tonight?
No, I'm not saying that at all.
Well, they have to.
Well, they're going to win game six at your place?
I'm not saying that.
So who's winning in seven?
The Spurs?
Yeah.
Yeah, you got the Spurs winning in seven.
I got the Spurs Nix predicted.
Y'all don't want to bring that clip up.
Yeah, from October 23rd, when I said it's going to be Nick Spurs in the finals.
So here we are.
Yeah, because those are both your teams.
Here we are.
They're both my teams?
Yeah.
Pick two winners.
Winner winner, winner chicken dinners.
Well, you gotta pick one.
Shostradamus.
You got to pick one.
When you pick two, you just don't lose.
So right now you're ahead two to two you're saying, right?
I am.
I am.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but when you meet you, there's no in between.
You win, you win.
Well, I think you're picking the thunder tonight, though.
Oh, my mind.
No. I'm saying it if we do get one tonight.
Are you guys winning tonight? Yes or no?
I don't know. Okay. So, okay. See? Okay. We can't ever get an answer. We can't ever get a yes and no.
Just don't know. Let's talk about it. I don't know. I don't know. I can't tell you.
Can't tell you. I can't tell you.
Little Wimby. So Wimby set the Spurs franchise record for most points in a player's first postseason passing Stephen Jackson in the series.
averaging 30 points, 13 rebounds,
four assists, three blocks,
on 53, 488 splits,
series best plus 50.
So after the Spurs, game three lost,
he said, I feel like I have trouble
making my teammates better right now.
I need to be more of a team player.
But Skip, when you look at Wimmy,
does Wimmy need to be more of a team player
or just do a better job of taking over the game?
Because it wasn't a team player per se in game four.
When he's dropping the 30s and 40s,
that's what we're winning the game.
When it's a whole team player,
player shit has not gone the Spurs way.
Look, he's obviously wildly skilled at seven foot nine or whatever he is.
I don't know.
What do we call him?
Six, seven, six?
I don't know.
You know, just sevens.
Just call him Mr. Seven.
And yet the fire and desire does come and go.
That's all I know.
It comes and goes.
So it's almost like you're going to be a prisoner of or victim of.
his focus for the night.
And I don't know what happened to him in game three,
but he drifted.
Hartnstein got in his head a little bit.
Poor, poor Wimby, they were grabbing his elbow.
They were grabbing his elbow a little bit.
It was really, it was just terrible, what they were doing to him.
I don't know, but he wasn't all there.
And then in game four, when he goes into early attack mode,
it's hard to deal with him.
And Chet shrinks under his gaze.
You know, all I have to do is glare at Chet, and he shrinks about eight inches.
And it's just, I guess the pop speech got to him, you know, where he called him out and just say you got punk, because they did.
I don't know how that alien could get four rebounds in an entire basketball game in which you have a 15 to nothing lead.
It's just wrong.
And that's, I don't, I don't think Pop directed his, his commentary directly at Wimby,
but it was at the team and it was implied it was the alien who was getting the brunt of the commentary from Pop.
So is his fire lit?
Because when he's all fire desire from dribble 1, and it does help him to make his first three.
When he makes his first three, it just fills him with confidence.
Remember game one against, who was it, the previous round?
Minnesota.
Was it Minnesota?
Yeah.
He goes 0 for 8 from 3, and they lose at home.
And so he's a little bit of a prisoner of his own three-point shooting,
and then he makes the one to walk off at halftime the other night,
and I'm like, that's it, it's over.
But it just depends how much his fire is lit
and how much Hartenstein can bother him,
and to a certain extent Caruso can bother him.
And I do remind you, one thing Oklahoma City's got going versus Whimmy tonight is
Caruso only played 14 minutes because I think Dagnollet saw the handwriting on the arena wall
and just said, this is theirs.
I'm going to give you this one.
It was like the 143 101 at Minnesota last year.
You can have this one.
I'm not going to play Caruso because he burns out because he just plays so hard, so fast,
that they need him to bother Wimby too.
So he scored zero the other night.
Alex Caruso scored zero in 14 minutes,
so he'll be a little fresher tonight
to just try to get under Wimby's skin a little bit,
which he will.
And you just hope that he's not as focused and committed as he was.
I don't think it's about his teammates or anything.
That sounded good.
It's just about him.
If he decides this is,
my game, my night, he's difficult to deal with. That's all I know. I mean, I'm rolling. I like
OKC in game five. You're the champs. You're at home. Home court advantage. You're going to get
your cause. I don't think, like you said, Caruso's going to have that game that he had.
I don't think McCain's going to shoot the way he shot.
It's going to six, man. And I just know by their record, they're 9 and 0, man, when they lose
when they lose a game.
So they add home, these are champions.
And at the end of the end of the day,
you still got to beat the champs.
You got to beat them.
And we'll see.
You got Spurs tonight and in six?
No, no, no, no.
Oh, I thought you said it was going six.
Yeah, the fun and all that fun
and the excitement is about to be open tonight
for the Spurs.
Oh, oh, you're going the other one.
It's going to be like the Warriors.
You know, they have fun, Houston.
He got jet lag.
No, it's going to be.
They got a catch up.
They got to catch up to New York.
They let you all have fun.
They still got that fish here, digesting in his stomach.
He don't know what you're talking about.
Pop won't one of them again.
I get it.
Pop one of them?
Yeah.
What did the pop?
The nuns.
He yelled at the coach, yelled at him, yelled at the ref, yelled at the commission.
Adam Stern.
Pop used to hold everybody.
He yelled at everybody.
Adam Sterler.
Adam Silver.
Adam Silver.
Adam Stern.
Adam Silver.
He yelled at everybody.
If Fred Popper.
What you did?
Tim back in the day, yelled at all of them.
Yeah.
I got you, I got you, Popper.
Greg Popper used to hold, Tim Duncan.
Yeah.
Nah.
Tim Duncan.
So who was the coming?
Constantly.
This is not your locker room.
It is.
It is.
What are you talking about?
Who's the coach?
Who got control?
Do you know who Pat Riley?
Who is Pat Riley?
How do you see your coach?
You know who Pat Riley is?
You know who Pat Riley is?
You know who Eric's poster is?
Pop, yell at your coach, and you go
had the best games like you've been at riley air exposed you pop when i tell you what to do you do it
no i'm just saying okay okay hey me coach is so mad you seen what he did to the little kid
brian after yes yes hold you accountable so that's the only one he could let's go back for a second
okay oh win vignana right when bina pop had eight rebounds last game four rebounds the game before
You forget about the 26 points and the 33 points and the defense plus that he actually stands on business with.
So you look at the dynamic of the actual scouting report, new show coming soon, scouting report, rocked to you by Underdog.
I'm going to outlie and show you exactly why this game plan that we had Caruso hit zero points on,
which is simply stop double-teaming and giving open shots to guys who potentially can hit shots to keep them in the game.
Who are those two guys?
Caruso.
They didn't have a lot of open shots they mean.
And who else?
McCain.
And Jalen Williams.
And Wallace.
It's four of them.
They all did.
But these two guys potentially can take over the game and give you 24 points or 18 points that changed the dynamic of how the game is going.
Yeah, but don't underestimate me.
Jay Will's been doing this all year.
year the postman.
The big guy, the big guy.
But he didn't do it last night.
He looked like Jerry McCann.
He looked like he was doing a TikTok.
Okay, but the game before he made five out of six three.
He did.
He did.
But guess what?
He was open.
He was open.
He was open.
He was open.
Our game plan was to crowd shooters make them put it on the floor.
Make sure we're there on the catch.
They were on the cats.
They were open shots.
We ought to make.
So why didn't he make them?
All right.
So you better make them next time.
I don't want to hear.
They didn't want to hear.
They didn't make him.
Five off no dribble.
He missed a lot of open shots
We're right there
We're right there
Don't make up your own shit in your head
You were in China
You weren't even watching the damn game
You didn't even have a signal
They don't even play this shit over there
You're lying
You just looked at the box door, bro
I told you that this head
is affecting your shit, bro
You got ball brain
He missed
Jaylon Williams was swinging the ball
Because he was not open
these were not open threes
they were not open
three no they were not open
Shane dribble bump
Pumpfek two came he
ain't no two
we're in the gap
show and retreat
Get back to your own
Get back to your own
Stunt and Recovery
It's making up it
It's called stunt and
It's called Stunt and Recovery
Terminology
For the guys who don't know who
Yeah stunt
Yeah thank you
On SGA
Get it right.
I got this.
Yeah, get it right.
Recover to the shooter.
Make him make another path.
Lajin, Lajin, Lajin, Lajin.
Lejean.
Lejean.
Me, relax.
Did you make that up?
No.
You just made that up?
People in China.
Who told you that?
A little kid told you that.
That's right.
You were watching the game in China.
9 a.m.
Or 8 a.m.
And I just knew he was going to say crazy.
He lying.
You know what lying mean in Chinese?
See, time it's
Rar.
Lying.
You're a liar.
He's a liar.
He's a liar.
Rar.
Yeah, rar, nigger.
Liar.
You're lying again.
Man, listen.
Bula.
Like I said, man.
Talk poop, you know what's going on
with this game playing.
That's why everybody knows what's going to happen
this game. We do the same thing.
The same ball handler is out.
The same scoring threats are out.
What are you going to do to change the outcome of the game?
Ask for fouls tell him to stop oh stop playing so aggressive
You just said we were just being pumped
Oh this all this it sounds like y'all doing the same shit for SGA
call it evenly sounds like the same thing call it even play
All right so let's shift over back the thunder side
s jay struggle to find his offense at times throughout the series
So after becoming the first guard in may here shoot an average 30 while shooting 55% from the field
in the regular season shade's been forced to be more of a facilitator through the first four games in the western conference finals
He's averaging 25 points, 10 assists, three rebounds on 39, 27, 97 splits.
So Skip Sarwitu has Escher been officiated fairly during this series,
and what version of Shea do the Thunder need if they want to win this series?
Well, I just restate my case.
Stefan Castle is really good, and he has arrived.
In fact, I did a thing with Kenyon after a show a couple of weeks back.
We rank the top five players in the Western Conference,
and I put Stefan Castle fifth in the conference.
That's how good he is,
because he can play bully ball defending and driving the basketball
because he is a load to deal with when he gets two feet in the paint.
He's hard to stop.
He plays even stronger to me than he looks.
So, look, it's just,
It's an overreaction because of this foul merchant stuff.
And I will give you that SGA got one call the other night.
And it was on the three-point shot where Deere and Fox just brushed him with his body.
Never touched him.
He touched him.
He did.
It was knee-to-knoticed contact for sure because he knocked him offline.
But what had just happened that you forget, Mr. Hooper, is that Dagnolt had just challenged to play a turnover out of bounds
off SGA with Castle all over him because Dagnol wanted the foul called because it's just
you just can't go body ram somebody and hack at their arms and get away with it and he got
away with it because the call was Spurs basketball going the other way. So they challenged it and
they lost the challenge but they made the refs look at the foul call and they said no no it's
okay and it was a makeup call they let SGA have one but that was the only call he got the whole night
And I'm going to say it again, on free throws for the whole series, he shot 34 and the alien shot 34.
So it's 34 all in free throw attempts.
And I do think, to your point, the alien gets every call.
He gets away, like, he blocked one of Chet's shots at the rim the other night.
And he just, he just knocked the hell out of him.
Or was it a soft attempt at a dunk?
Okay, whatever you want to argue is fine, but it was a body foul.
He hit him hard.
I'm the defensive player of the year, unanimous.
You don't call no bullshit call on me with some soft-ass boy coming out here trying to play a man's game.
Get out of here with that.
No, you don't call no call on me.
That's what it is.
It's just no call.
You can just do because the league needs him.
Man.
Yeah.
Okay.
It is.
Yeah, that's what's happening.
They let him get away with anything.
And here's my point about shit.
Anything.
They let him get away with anything, but they call all the bullshit.
on SBA. They give him
all the fucking calls, but they let him get away
with everything. He doesn't even shoot him. Are we serious
right now? He's not even sure. Like there's a
compilation of how many times
he hits the ground. 17%
of the time he hits the ground
on his shot attempts. Okay. And
he's not getting fouled. What are you on the floor
for? It's fouled. You do not shoot like that.
Wayne Way was on the floor. You do not shoot like that.
I mean, a lot of players be on the floor. Al and I should
shoot like that. You know what? SGA takes
more punishment than any player in the
league. Really? Yes, he does.
From his style.
What?
From his stylist?
Yeah.
From his stylist?
Hey, you're gonna have to wear this tonight.
For real.
He ain't got no stylish?
For real.
That's punishment.
No, I'm pretty sure he picks his own out.
I'm gonna say he ain't got no style.
Come on, man.
Y'all just hate them cutting.
That's why you're hain'all.
Continue with the punishment.
Yeah.
I'm making y'all look crazy.
They was just complaining about SZA getting all the calls and foul it now.
It's like, damn.
Now you want the cause.
Now you complain about not even.
He's not even.
You guys are super
Make up your mind.
Like what are you talking about?
You were getting the free throws
and now you're not getting the free throws.
Yeah.
So now am I not getting the free throws?
So now you got a hoop.
Why am I not getting a free throws?
Now you have to prove you can get a bucket
without getting a foul.
Why do I have to prove?
I'm the champion.
Because we're not fouling you.
But why am I not getting to tell you?
Because.
You know how I play without fouling?
You know when the coach, he writes that on the white board.
We have to play without fouling tonight.
Okay.
He don't writes nothing.
He don't writes nothing.
I was a lot.
dude. We'd be... Pop-Wy. This is the same pop-Wong. Hey, Pop, rode it up, play without fouling, guys.
Y'all can follow them tonight. I told them. I told them. I told the reps. Y'all can follow
them tonight. No, I mean, we just at home. We can play a little more physical. Just like tonight,
we'll see it, OKC. Y'all be way more physical. Watch. This three-on-one ain't going to be
very helpful. It's two, too. Well, it's two, too, going back to OKC. So, if I'm OKC, I'm feeling good. Hey, we got one.
So...
Have to get your ass blown out? Now, I don't think you got nothing.
Did win two straight, though, to take back home court advantage.
Okay, if we got nothing, then you should just go ahead and say it's about to be over.
No?
No, I'm not going anywhere.
There you don't go.
There you don't go.
He can't.
I'm not doing that.
No.
Because it's seven games.
They're good.
They're good.
You just said we got them.
You got nothing.
You would never do that.
The only thing you got is, if somebody asked you a question, you answer it.
You got Tony Brothers.
That's what you got.
Also known.
You got taking excuses.
Ugly ass Tony.
You got ugly ass Tony.
The judge during executioner though.
Man, I'm not going to count Tony brothers out.
I could never do that.
If it wasn't for Tony brothers, I would double down on it, but I can't.
Oh, he won't foster.
Oh, you want Foster.
No, man.
Foster don't like CP3.
CP3, OKC.
We could.
CP3 did have some.
Well, he played.
Well, he had the Spurs jersey.
He did, but he, you know, he had something to do with the SGA shit in this
going on over.
Yeah.
Come into it,
I'm something to do it with me.
His leadership over there.
His leadership over there.
His leader sip over there.
He did one year.
They still die back when they see each other.
So here's the point.
What did you say SGA is averaging for these four games?
24, right?
25.
25.
25.
I will bet you he has more than 25 tonight because however great he is, you're going to see him max
out.
However, whatever he can do tonight he will do by himself.
Watch.
That will happen.
You bet in the OKC win?
Yeah, they win the night.
Let's just bet.
I mean, you might as well, you got to, you never paid your fucking best from before,
bro.
You might as well just put it.
No, I said if they play the Clipper.
We bet three times, bro.
I said it's the first play the Clippers' first round, it's going to be ugly.
That's what I said.
You got no other team to go with.
You might as well bet.
That's your only team to go with.
So you might as well bet.
I don't need it.
My team that I picked three season is here right.
Every season is here right.
So bet.
So bet that they win tonight?
Watch out, man.
Did you guys?
Oh, so you, okay.
Yeah, watch out.
Watch out.
We don't get rid of these.
Look, look.
All right, well, we will find out what happened tonight and discuss it here in the arena tomorrow.
Let's shift over to the Eastern Conference.
So after New York got their fourth straight playoff win with a 39-point blowout over the Sixers in game one of their second round series back on May 4th.
Jalen Brunson was asked if the Knicks were peaking at the right time.
He replied,
I hope not.
So three week later, the Knicks entered game four of the Eastern Conference Finals with the 3-0 series lead in the midst of an historic 10-game winning streak,
with their 22.5 average margin of victory being the best by any team over a 10 game span in NBA history.
Cavs were looking to avoid the sweep and tried to stop the Knicks and their fans from taking over their arena like they didn't Philly while sweeping that series.
But those efforts were futile on and off the court as New York came through with another series clinching blowout to punch their ticket to the NBA finals for the first.
time in 27 years. Let's check out the highlights if you can. Please, son. So Cubs put up a fight
in the first quarter. Donovan Mitchell scored the Cubs first eight points. They jumped out to an
A2 lead. Cleveland led for most of the first six minutes before New York took control and
continued to put belt to ass. Caves were trailing by four with a little over two minutes
remaining in the first frame. Let's watch this Jaylorbrun bruns and lay up real quick.
They were still with their striking distance.
But then, Knicks went on a 20-0 run with their bench leading the charge.
So New York led by as much as 29 points in the first half.
See, Landry Shammett, 4-4 from 3 in the game, 11 for 12 from 3 in the series.
Help spark that 20-0 run.
Nix took a 19-point lead into the break.
Cavs gave up 26 fast break points in the first half, 33 in the game.
New York has six players scoring double figures, led by Kat,
who finished with 19 points and 14 boards.
It was the Big Bodega's ninth double-double this postseason and third in this series.
OG Ananobe added 17 points and 7 rebounds,
and Jalen Brunson and McElbridge is each finished with 15 and 5 assists.
Landry Shremitt, as we mentioned, lightened it up 16 off the bench,
hitting a barrage of threes.
Donovan Mitchell put up a game high 31 points.
It was this 6th 30-point game this postseason.
Evan Mowgli had 15 and 7 boards.
While James Hardin had another disappointing elimination game,
Hardin had 12 points on 2 of 8 shooting,
along with a game high, five turnovers.
New York outscored Cleveland, 62 to 44 in the second half,
dominated in second chance points,
outscoring the calves, 32 to 5.
Nix pulled their starter to a little over under eight minutes remaining,
35 point lead.
They led by as much as 45
in the fourth quarter
as Nick fans once again took over the arena
in New York advances to the finals for the first time
since 1999
will also become the first NBA Cup champion
to reach the finals in the same season.
So after the series clinching win,
Cat and Eastern Conference Finals, MVP Jalen Brunson
offered these thoughts.
It seems hungry and that's the most important thing
even with
an amazing historical win we had
tonight.
the celebrations were minimal.
You know, we really want to get back to work.
Ask coach, can we get back to work quick.
We know what happened last time we had a long layoff.
So we already talked after the game right away about preparing, you know,
getting to practice, getting back to the work.
It's what's made us special.
It's what's going to give us a chance to win the next series.
Like the belief that the organization has in me has been amazing
and it's something I don't take for granted.
And it's something that not a lot of people who get.
get the opportunity to do so.
So I'm very thankful and it's armed to be here in this city
and for this organization and this with my teammates.
And obviously these guys have my back and they've always had it.
And we're to share that for the world.
The new version, Nova Nix, two chips, Bruncena McKeel Bridges at Villanova.
Josh Hart won one of those.
The Knicks are the fifth team in league history with an 11-game playoff winning streak.
They're compliant.
Bond plus 262 margin is the largest to any 11 game span.
In the NBA history, Mr. B, we will start with you.
Biggest takeaways from the Knicks sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Man, let's take it back a little bit.
Let's take it back when the Knicks won the Cup this year, right?
They won the Cup, right?
They were doing well.
I remember they having a little stretch where Kat was him and Mike Brown was getting into it.
and he didn't really know his role, right?
And it was getting a little shaky over there,
like we were kind of writing the Knicks off.
I want to commend Kat, I want, this is about Kat right now,
because Kat, man, you accepted that role
that Mike Brown challenged you in,
taking that Draymond Green role, I will call it,
you being able to be the Sillah Taylor,
you know, your assists are high in the playoffs.
But I think you just taking on that role
has really helped the whole team
and everybody, you see Bridges, you see Brunton,
everybody, they just playing unselfishly and on defensive end.
So I really want to say, like, it's really about Kat to me.
I mean, I know the team is good, but Kat really taking on that role has really changed the
whole dynamic of the Nix team.
And that's what I took from this whole thing since he's accepted that role.
After all that, Swaggy, biggest takeaways from the Knicks, sweeping the cabs advancing to the first
I think we all seen this coming after, you know, what happened to Jason Taylor last year coming into this season.
I think pretty much it was up to the Knicks to get there.
I didn't believe the Pistons, even though how good they was playing.
They didn't have enough.
After Boston went down, I didn't see nobody being the Knicks and the East.
But they're playing very well.
And you've seen it coming.
You know, it's the same James Harden's story.
It's on matter what team he's on.
When he feels he doesn't have a shot, he gives up.
I think the first game did it.
I even stopped watching for a little bit when they was up 20.
First game, then I see the chat blowing up.
Nick's win.
I'm like, well, I'm in China, you know, hanging, eating noodles, got some duck wrap.
Couldn't believe it.
So, but the biggest takeaway, I would say, Brunson and then getting his trophy, you know.
He pushed Josh Hart out the way.
Serious time, no thumb.
Avoiding another thumb incident.
Yeah, no thumbs up.
Let's get the job.
Yeah, let's get the job done.
It's big for the city for sure.
I like the Knicks going on there.
Child, the Knicks were your squad until December, NBA Cup championship.
There's an incident we will talk about shortly.
change your perspective.
What are your big segueuelly from the Knicks
sweeping the Eastern Conference finals
against the Cavs to reach the NBA finals?
Big shout out to
World Wide West William Wesley,
Leon Rose having the vision
since 2020 to come in
and rebuild the Knicks to
not only a contender, but a team
that can take a guy that's under
6 foot 2 and make him a number
one option and take it
to the finals. And I think,
I think there's a lot of people who said that Jalen Brunson should have went to Houston Rockets and played a third position because that's the only way he's going to be a contending championship player.
I pushed back against that.
That guy named was Gilbert Arenas, by the way, that said that.
And a lot of guys cooperated that like Jalen Brunson is too small because there's only two other guards that small that can take their teams to the finals and win.
And I was against that.
I think that Jalen Brunson is not only a champion and a leader, but he wants to win.
He grew up with a father that had that same spirit.
And I think that when you have that type of leadership, you can take it anywhere you want to take it.
And he's been determined.
He's not been faltered by any of the praise that he's been getting.
He's had this discipline and this focus on the goal at hand.
To Brandon's point, as far as Kat being the main guy, I would say,
it would be McKell Bridges.
I think McKell Bridges is shooting like 69% right now
after his crazy trash start that he had with the playoffs.
We didn't know if...
Talking about Benzum, right?
Yeah, if he didn't, we didn't know, like,
if they could win without him playing good basketball,
but they was able to weather the storm and wait on him
because basketball is a game that you're going to have your slumps
and you're going to have your hot streaks.
And I think right now when you know how to...
to play the game, get to your spots, and you have a coach that can adjust the team concept around
having you get more comfortable and getting those comfort zones and making shots and making
plays, the game comes to you. And I think that's what's happened with McKell Bridges, where
right now he is the wild car. He is the guy that you have to look out for when you got
Kat and Brunson both playing unselfish basketball. Neither one of them are trying to go for 30, 40.
They're out there trying to figure out how the team can best focus around winning the game no matter what.
We're looking at the first series that they had, they had like a 30-point win or a 51-point win against Atlanta.
Then they beat Detroit.
No, was it Detroit?
About 30?
And then they ended up beating this team by too much.
And I think that comes from knowing what the goal is.
Our goal is to get this done no matter who gets to shine.
And you look at the NBA Cup, who were the two teams in the NBA Cup?
Spurs Knicks, two teams I picked.
So if it wasn't for Josh Hart, I would have never jumped ship, you know.
And now Josh Hart got a little thumb hurt and he's regretting doing the thumb shit.
But after that, all the Knicks fans, the Stephen A. Smiths, Josh Smiths, Steve Smiths, all of them.
they're cheering right now because the Knicks are finally back in contention to do something they haven't done in a very, very long time.
And I think it's deserving.
I think all of those fans deserve it.
I think Jaylon Brunson deserves it.
McKell Bridges, Josh Hart deserve it.
I think Kat deserves it.
I think O.G. Onobey deserves it.
I think Mitchell Robertson deserves it.
All of those guys deserve exactly this moment to be there.
But like Kat said, the job's not done.
They want to get back to work.
They don't want to be complacent
and try to take this energy on
and where they are
and how they got there.
They just want to go
and get the job done.
And like I said,
Shosh for Diamond is from the start, man.
Sometimes when you know who,
you know who to pick.
So whenever I'm talking now,
I hope y'all are listening
because this whole year
I've been trying to tell y'all how I go.
So at some point,
proof is in the pudding.
You like the Knicks over the Alien?
Oh, no.
Maybe.
I ain't thought about it yet.
Maybe.
We got to win first.
We got to win first.
But I got to think about that because experience plays a lot more of a part than anything.
You'll never give you an answer.
Yes, I know.
Yep.
Skate much shipped over.
All right.
So allow me to say that I was very happy last night for our producer, Rob, who's a lifelong Knicks fan.
And it's been a long time, man.
It's been 27 years since they were in the finals against the Spurs.
And it's been, I don't know how many years I can't even do the math on 1973 since they won one,
because it was three years before the ABA NBA-N-Berger.
So it was like dark ages going way back to prehistoric NBA times that they won their last championship.
And I was very happy for my brother, Stephen A, because he has been lifelong born and raised in Queens.
Nick's fan and
and he suffered a lot, man.
It's been a lot of suffering and a lot of
near misses just even to
almost, almost
get there.
And when I look at
what just happened, they just
went on an 11 game tear unlike
any I've ever seen in all my years of covering the game you guys
played at the highest level. I've never seen
anything like this
because this was the all-time buzz
and they buzzsawed these teams in half.
And we can question the competition in the East, and that's valid to me.
But you can't question what they were doing to the competition,
which is, as you said, the three close-out games.
And it's just ridiculous what you're doing when you win close-out games on the road
by 51 and 30 and 31.
It's crazy.
And when I look at what you've done for the whole playoffs,
you've shot 40% from three for the entire playoff run.
That's impossibly great.
And when Shamit's coming in, making 11 of 12
and shooting 60% from three for the whole playoff run,
that's insane.
You talked about Bridges, who's the X-Factor.
The last nine games, he's played the greatest nine straight games
of his lifetime.
And I'm looking at Kat.
He's 49% from three for the whole playoff run.
That'll work.
McBride comes in, makes 43% for the whole playoff run.
So I've never seen a team off being down 2 to 1 at Atlanta
catch fire and stay on fire for as long as the Knicks have stayed on fire.
The turning point of the whole run was game one against Cleveland at home.
When they're down 22 with 7 and a half left, it's just, it's over, man.
My wife's a Knicks fan.
She's born and raised in New York.
and she walked through and looked at the score
about seven and a half minutes left,
and she said, well, that's it.
They're done.
And I said, I don't know.
It's James Harden.
You know, like, to your point,
man, he's had so many flameouts
in his postseason career.
And here they came and they broke Cleveland's will.
And then last night, as Josiah pointed out,
I thought maybe Donovan wanted to play last night
and it's eight to two.
And then, no.
So last night in the first quarter, the Knicks had 15 fast break points in the first quarter, and they had 26 by halftime.
So here's the point.
Look at the Thunder, the best defensive team through the regular season in basketball.
They allowed 11 fast break points per game for the whole 82 game season, 11 per game.
And, wait, Cleveland gave up 15 in the first quarter and 26 by halftime.
For once, I agreed with some of the charge.
Markley said, because he did the definition at half time of quitting is the cavaliers. Well, it was.
So it's hard to put huge stock in the quality of the opposition, but what they're doing is just,
it's never been done before like this. No matter who, if they're playing college teams,
it's never been done like this before, where you just obliterate the opposition,
where it's over after a quarter, every time, every game except for that game won,
it's over after a quarter.
So, and to all your points, you're not hitting on five cylinders,
you're hitting on ten cylinders, where every cylinder is max, max, max, max.
And to your point, yeah, Carl Anthony Towns just said, okay, whatever you need, I'll do this.
Because he doesn't want to be first fiddle.
He never want to be first fiddle.
He wants to go along for a nice ride, but he's incredibly gifted, and he's a really good passer and facilitator, and he said, okay, I can do this.
I'm more comfortable doing this than having New York waiting for me to have one of those wimby games.
You know, I can't do what he does.
I can't do that every night and carry the team.
And then to your point about Jalen Brunson, yeah, there's only been Steph and Isaiah back in the Detroit days,
carry, you know, be the primary score
in the reason that you go win a championship,
being that guy.
AI?
Yeah, but they didn't win.
I'm talking about winning a championship, yeah.
Oh, in college he won it. He ain't won it yet, though.
Okay, okay, yeah.
He ain't won it yet.
Okay, you're talking about AI.
No, Jaylon.
Oh, yeah, yeah, no, I got it.
But he got them there, which, man, remember,
Steph is like, when I'm standing up next to Steph, I feel like they list him at 6.3 and he's at least
6.2 to me, at least. What do you say you are? 6.1? 6. Okay, because I think Steph's about an
inch taller than you. And Isaiah Thomas, who I was around a whole lot, I mean, he was a full,
he's your, he's 6.1. And Jalen Brunson, I'm pretty sure he's, he's barely, barely six feet?
Barely. I don't know, man. It's hard. It's just hard because
it's you guys it's a tall man sport and and he is a little man to me even though he's stoutly built
and and he can create space with anybody for his little jumper you know his little step back but
still he did that they did that so so so we can talk all you want about what's about to happen next
but but they did do that and and i give them like the highest credit you can give them for just laying
waste to a whole conference through the whole playoff front.
When did that the little guard can't win a championship stuff started happening?
Like when did that become a thing?
When Gil said it?
Oh.
Becky Hammond, I think.
Back in 2023.
Because IT or something?
Because I Zelle Thomas?
So Isaiah Thomas and stuff.
You're talking about little IT, Boston Celtics?
He was cooking.
He was averaging 30.
He could have, he looked like Bronson a little bit.
Yeah, they play similar.
Yeah.
In the record, I mean, it's odd to see like a 6-2 guard, 6-1 guard win it all, and be the number one option.
So for Isaiah, yeah, he did his step, 6-2.
You know, that's why I say AI, he got there, but, you know, he didn't win it.
So it is rare.
That's the guy, the number one option.
This would be rare.
I mean, I don't know if the Knicks can, ooh, I don't know.
We'll see.
You got to be really good as a little guy.
Like, when you played, were there?
Ever nights when you felt like I wish I were four inches taller?
Did you ever, did bigger guards take you where you just said, God, I mean, to me, you're tall, but you're not?
Yeah, no, those Wessel Rush Brooks, those D. Rose, they've been, like, D. Rowe's 6'4, like, those bigger guards, like, even Gil, like, he was bigger.
He was.
Those bigger guards to me, of course.
Like, right when I got to the league, the first player took me right to the post was Chauncey Billups and Jason Gil.
Oh, God.
So it's like, you know, no, fella, we ain't.
running around all night.
We're not going to do all that
right here, get to, go sit down.
So those were definitely moments
in my career where I was like.
I thought it's trying to see, like,
6.4. 6.4? Yeah, like 6.4.
6.4? 6.4.
6.4. I said, they won.
Yeah. He was the leading
leader of that team.
Yeah, but we were saying 6-2,
like 6-2 and under.
Yeah. So
what they have to do is
Jalen does, can
struggle on defense, and you can
I see, they'll hunt it.
but they do a great job of covering for him with everybody
because they got lots of good, like Ananobe is a great wing defender.
Bridges is a great long wing defender where they can help.
It's almost like San Antonio, you're talking about stunt and recover.
You know, they're good at doing that for Jalen
where he can kind of stay in the middle of it
and not get exposed exposed,
where we're suddenly like Hardin in the comeback game
where they're just, he's got no help,
and he's just here, go at him.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, so Jalen can be a little bit of a defensive liability,
but they have figured a way to cloak it,
to disguise it or cover for it.
There's a difference.
There's a difference between I don't want to play defense.
Yeah, that's true.
And I can't play defense, right?
So I'm not going to say Jalen can't play defense,
but he actually is out there moving his puppies.
He's actually trying to put his chest in front of the offensive player.
He's buying into the team concept of rotating, getting out to the shooter,
pressuring him.
Like, he actually tries to play defense.
And I think that's the difference between him and any other point guard outside of SGA,
because SGA does try to.
He's not no let you go.
The stuff that James Hardin was doing, like, the stuff that Luca does.
Those two, though.
You know, those are guys that just like, you're going to out, you've got to outplay me.
You got to outplay me.
And I think with the competitiveness of a Jalen Brunson being that small,
It was similar to a guy like Isaiah Thomas and a guy.
Like even Steph, Steph was never, I'm going to let you go right past me because he knew
Dreman was back there like, yo, I need you to give me something so that we all have room
to rotate.
And Steph led the league when you're in steals because of that, which is.
But is that really considered leading the team by yourself, Steph?
Who?
Like leading.
No, I would, I'll push back against that.
I too.
I didn't like that.
the team.
But he led the team in scoring, which is that's why they're like a smaller guard
that can lead the team in scoring to the championship.
That's what they're considering.
Like Isaiah, like you said, with Johnson being 6364, you're not going to put him in that
category.
But if them are the only two players, you've got to, you know, we've got to say that's
what it is.
But I know what you're saying as far as he had more help than anything.
Like, I'm thinking like Iverson team type of.
That's what you call leading a team to the championship.
Steph had KD at one point, too.
What about before that, though?
What he led the team that year?
What about before that?
He didn't lead the team that year.
What?
Katie.
No, no, I'm talking about before that,
the first championship.
The first championship.
He had Clay, he had Barnes average,
and they both averaged 20 points down there.
Mm-hmm.
Clay average 22.
Steph was MVP?
But Steph wasn't the MVP.
I said, you want MVP?
Back to back.
Thank you.
So did he lead it?
That's Eagle Dollar one.
Yeah, no, I know I get that, but I'm saying the whole year, though.
He had a lot of discrepancies in the stuff.
The whole year.
Yeah, that's a lot of-
The whole year.
It's a lot of moving parts with stuff.
He was a great as he is.
That was the year he was unanimous?
2016.
I think people keep to feel even Andre Aguadala that maybe.
Can we go back to the Brunson part?
Yeah.
I do feel though Bronson ain't played against nobody yet in the East.
Why not?
To be able to say he's like a defender.
Like I feel like, I feel like,
I reached Maxie?
Listen,
Oh, listen, listen, yeah, they were, they were, but I'm saying like,
play against who we need to play again.
No, but listen, I'm saying if the Spurs get to the finals, it's going to look different, though,
with him out there.
He's going to have to really play, all five guys.
Yeah, whichever team he goes against.
Everybody can.
Yeah, so.
Yeah.
So, he is good and just what I said.
When I said, he's really, really good as a basketball player.
He's getting by right now.
How?
I think he's getting by because of who he's, like, like who they're planning against.
They don't have, the Spurs.
Hold on.
The first got way better guards.
Remember what we said?
This is what we said.
We said you can't put nobody the same size as Brunson on Brunson.
You got to put a bigger guy on him.
We all say there's got to be a 6-6-6-7 guy to give him harder chances to score
because he know what he's doing down there where you're too small for me.
I'm 6-1.
How are you too small for me at 6-3?
I'm talking about him guarding.
He got a guard.
Not about who's the whole team defensive concept.
When everybody would be like, oh, you match up.
That's what Mike Brown is a genius when it comes to covering for the guy just like he did with Deer & Fries.
So what's going to happen if they play against the Spurs?
When all four guards can go.
What you mean?
As far as offensively?
No, defensively.
For him defensively.
I feel like Jalen Brunson is getting, because he's not going against nobody.
He's going to line up.
He's going to line up against whoever's attacking him and we're going to make adjustments as a team.
If the Knicks played as far as it, it's going to be a lot.
They're going to win it.
The Knicks play the Spurs, they win the championship.
The Knicks win it?
Yeah.
Mm.
But why?
They got everything.
That the Spurs, they got length.
No, we know that.
That's the obvious.
We got a town.
What's going to be the difference maker for the Knicks that make them the champion when it
comes to strategy, when it comes to, all right, what's the game plan that's going to make us beat them?
Because there's a lot of moving parts with that.
That's why I'm saying. Who is he going to?
I'm going right at that Brunson.
Remember, Brunson, we're going.
That can't be your game plan if you're San Antonio because that's not how we got here.
What did they do in the end-season tournament?
Brunson and them?
When they won it.
They attacked San Antonio.
Brunson attacked them.
That's what I'm saying.
So the other side wasn't the, and remember, Wemby was just now trying to get back from his minutes restriction and shit.
So he wasn't playing full throttle.
Brunson was locked in.
I think, I think, Brunson is hard to guard.
He is very hard to guard.
He's hard to guard.
You can't just go out.
Who is he going to guard?
You got to let him, you got to make him work also.
You do.
It's the same thing.
What San Antonio is doing to SDAA, you're making them work also.
He's not just sitting around.
That's what I'm saying.
Like, he's going to have to guard somebody if he's playing against the Spurs.
That's what Cleveland didn't do.
They didn't make him guard.
Well, they don't have.
They had two guys that they can make them work.
Well, they don't have like the Spurs.
The Spurs are young and they're like, bro, they come.
Yeah, they're going to go down there and get, yeah, and they're more athletic than he is.
It's going to be tougher for him athletically.
Yes, I'm too.
If he's going downhill on Jalen Brunson, he don't have the power or athleticism to get over Dylan Harper or Castle.
Yes.
Or Vaseel, when you got to switch off on them and it's just catching go.
And they're not, Castle is not a shooter.
But we're not talking about it.
What do they do?
They just go to the rim and just jump over you.
And then he got to come back down and guard.
It's not like he averaged in 30 doing that, though.
No, he's not.
He's not averaging 30.
But if we get 10, if we get...
It looked good because he ducked, but it was 13 points.
But if we get 5, 5 and 5 from those three, right?
We get 5 points from Harper, 5 from Vesel, 5 from Castle.
Arm Brunson?
That's a difference maker.
The show.
That's why I don't think O'KC can match that because they don't have those offensive guys to go up against Brunson.
Their guys are hurt.
Their guys are hurt.
Even Mitchell.
Mitchell is not, I don't think, I think they match up well.
He can guard Mitchell.
I think he can guard Mitchell.
I think he can guard Mitchell.
It's harder for him to guard a Jalen Williams because he's a fucking small forward.
But he can match up with Mitchell.
So Spurs and Nick split the regular season, NBA Cup championship.
Technically doesn't count as a game, obviously.
Knicks got that one.
So technically two and one.
Two and one, Knicks.
In all games that they played.
What was the score outcome on the one-on-one?
So they played New Year's Eve, I believe.
The Knicks, Spurs won that game by two.
Then they played again March 1st.
And the Knicks won that one.
How much?
$1.14.89, I believe.
Yeah.
And that's when Spurs is hot, too.
You get sticky.
It's cat.
It's going to be on cat.
I'm telling you.
Cat is the factor.
Man, Bronson is hard to do.
I agree.
I agree.
I'm rolling with it.
I don't like Kat, Wimby matchup.
I don't like it.
For who?
I don't like it for Wimby.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, I'm about to say.
Because it's hard to guard.
He's not afraid.
He's not afraid.
Because Cat can shoot the ball from out there and it's hard.
And he got the pump fake.
He can get him in foul trouble.
He like to flop a lot.
But what do Kat do that we all hate?
He fouls.
Stupid fouls.
He don't like to move his feet.
Then you got to depend on Mitchell Robinson.
So that's going to be the difference maker is how aggressive.
is how aggressive can cat be without getting in foul trouble?
And then if Wimby can actually go out there and guard him.
You start both?
They got, they got both.
They got OG.
Come on, man.
The Knicks are lanky out there, bro.
They match up good.
They match up.
We got Johnson that match up with OG.
Johnson?
Keldon Johnson matched up with OG.
Yeah, you got matchups.
We got match up.
No way.
Yeah.
Hart match up with Castle.
You say Castle.
Then you got Bridges, Harper, you got Fox Brunson, Wemby, Cat.
You got a lot of guys.
Then you got off the bench.
You got Carter, Bryant, and Landry, Shammit.
That's what I'm saying.
They got champagne and shamans.
Don't even say car.
Just champagne and shaming.
He got Harrison Barnes and McBride.
You got a lot of different joints out there.
That you can throw at Brunter.
Yeah, for sure.
You don't think Brons has seen everything.
He has.
Not like he.
And he's ready for it.
No, no, no.
I know he's right.
But listen, if they get to the finals, you got to win four games against them youngins.
But they said Wembe was going to be tired.
They said Wemby was going to be tired.
And then he was going to gas out before he got the Joker and all of this shit.
Now we burping babies in the conference finals.
And he's averaging 30 and 16 on 59% and 38% from three.
Where is the fucking fatigue?
Where's all the tired shit?
He's 22 years old.
Like I say, we ain't scared of none of that.
When we get to the next round,
we're going to be ready for more.
It's not getting to the next round.
I think we're looking at here.
And obviously, there's still Western Conference finals.
That's tied to two.
We'll have some more clarity on that.
Just looking out the window, Joe.
We're just looking out the window.
Let's shift back over to the Knicks.
So back in 2020,
current Aces, Coach Becky Hammond
calls a stir in which you said,
Jalen Brunson wasn't the guy
to leave the Knicks of the Promise Land,
noting that if a team's best player is small,
they're not winning a chip.
But Brunton joined some rare company
and being an undersized number,
option to reach the finals.
So the Knicks captain was named the Eastern Conference
Finals MVP after average 26
points and 8 assists. Also should remind
you that Brunson took $113 million
pay cut in the summer of 2024
to allow the Knicks to be able to build
this roster around him.
Bringing in Kat, McHale Bridges, re-signing O.
Genobey, amongst other things.
And now he's four games away from being
a champion. So Skip,
what does Jalen Brunson mean to the Knicks
into the city of New York?
You know what I love the most about him?
His post-game interviews is humility.
And he always, even when he got presented,
the finals MVP trophy last night,
first thing he said was it's about these guys around me.
And it comes across as cliched and like he's ducking the question.
But no, I think he really believes in the team around him.
Because I think he learned some hard lessons a year ago, two years ago.
he can't do it all by himself because he tried several times. And again, he's not the biggest guy.
And if you go J.B. or bust, there's going to be a lot of bust because it's just too hard on him.
He can't just take completely over a game flying solo. And this is a basketball team, man.
And he's thanking everybody around him because they're all shooting 40, 50 percent from three.
So the ball is moving, cats moving the ball, facilitating, and it took some onus and focus off Jalen Brunson, and he didn't flinch about it.
He doesn't mind it at all.
And Shea Gildjus Alexander has a lot of that in him.
That's been a big reason for Oklahoma City success.
It's one for all, all for one.
And with Jalen Brunson, he is the leader of that team, but he's a big reason for Oklahoma City success.
He doesn't want to be the focal point of that team, and I respect him for that.
That's why they're so good is because, you know, with the Lucas of the world, he's got to be the man.
And Jalen Brunson doesn't have to carry himself like I'm the man here.
They're all the men, and he knows it and learned hard lessons that way.
So I just appreciated the way he handled it last night, and it validated to me.
what a force they've become,
despite the lack of competition,
which I agree with you.
But they've become a force
because he's such a forceful leader
of that basketball team.
And if you came out of nowhere
and all of a sudden the city's at your feet,
that city, the greatest city in the world,
even though I love L.A.
I understand.
I chose.
I lived in New York for 20 years, and I'm here.
And I want to stay here.
But again...
I'm about to get your ass with me.
Some local crypt waiting outside.
I understand.
But the tag on New York is from Frank Sinatra on down.
It's like the greatest city.
Frank, you know, he was a bill for L.A. life.
Yeah, I got it.
But the point is, it can just suck you in and drain you dry
if you become a star in New York and you're not ready for it.
because it is kind of like a small town
and how tightly built it is.
It's so contained
and everywhere you're going to go in Manhattan.
It's you, you, you, you, you.
And Jalen Brunson hadn't fallen into that trap to me.
He's still Jalen Brunson,
and the more they win, the more humble he gets.
And I appreciate that because that's rare to me.
It sounds like you was just describing some work,
I bet, in New York.
Took you in.
Bits you out.
Drain you?
Drain your, okay.
Knock your socks off.
But what should have you, Mr. B?
So what does Jaila and Brunson mean to the Knicks in the city of New York?
King of New York right now, holding it down, has the Knicks in the Files with the first time since 1999,
sacrifice his own bread, which, depending on when it's time to re-up again, may or may not be as huge of a pay cut as people would assume.
but nonetheless gave up that $113 million
to facilitate this roster being built.
Man, I mean, depending on how the finals go
or regardless, he might need the National Guard
protecting him in New York City,
how much they're going to love him.
But just off with Skip said, man, just his leadership.
And when you look at, I think when you just look at the Knicks
and you look at all the guys who played for the Knicks
from all the supporters, you could see that it's about the Knicks.
Like, it's not about just one player.
Like you see Patrick Hewing, you see John Starks,
you see Sefon Marbury,
Nate Robinson, Saman Shumford, all these guys that played and they just come together.
And that's what it is about being a Nick.
I know I play for the Knicks.
And, you know, I always say once you know, once you play for the Nick, you're always a Nick.
So it's just the team atmosphere.
It's the city atmosphere.
You know, I think it's, you know, I do love that he knows this about his team and about the city
because it's going to just help him in a long run.
You know, if he does win it all, I mean, come on, it's going to be, it's going to be insane for that guy.
So it's just perfect timing.
You know, the way social media is, you know, he has a chance right now to be the greatest
Nick player ever, you know, to me, if he gets it done.
And, you know, he got four games to try to figure it out.
So we'll see, man.
But he's on a high.
The greatest Nick ever, if they get a...
Yeah.
Yeah, that's...
Okay.
Well, sure.
No, one thing I like about the Knicks is a fan base, bro.
Like, they don't care.
I love it.
I love that.
They're out there every game cheering.
They're not worried about what people think or what people are going to say.
They feel like a college atmosphere out there.
From the J.R. Smith being trampled, but that's love.
You feel of love, you know.
Did not take the VIP exit when Jammer and Pop Rock.
Yeah, because he got a man of the people, stuff like that.
From Spike Lee and their whole front row on court side, you know, they are true believers.
And I like that.
For Bronson, I feel like
it's nothing like playing with people you know
and comfortable with.
Y'all know each other.
That don't happen in the NBA.
That do not happen.
Like playing with friends, somebody you consider a good friend
you went to school with already, grew up with.
With Bron James?
Who he played with?
I didn't mean that.
That was just a trigger.
It's just my bad.
He knew D.W.
My bad.
My bad.
No, like, Brunton, they got it done in college, too.
So, and the same guys, you got it done with coming your team in New York, and y'all, like, that's like a dream come true.
That's stuff you make up in the backyard and your dad, the coach, your owner, or something.
Like, this don't happen.
This is like destiny right here, bro.
So I feel like, man, I think they got it.
I think destiny is on their side.
I would love to see New York win, but it depends on who they play.
I feel like they have a chance for that.
New York will have fun.
He already gonna get a statue, Bronteen.
I feel like all five of them will get a statue.
They will get a statue.
Like this starting five.
That'll be a starting five statue.
Outside of the junk.
The towns, all of them will just, yeah.
Josh, all right.
They need to get Wolfram.
They didn't get Wolfram.
That man.
That's right.
just a thumb
It's a gigantic
That never got it done
They all have it attached
Michelle let's move on here
What did Jailen Brunsson mean to the Knicks
in the city of New York
We got to go through the timeline
First of all I think the appreciation
timeline of Jalen Brunson needs to be recognized
It was the second round pick
In the 2018 draft
To the Dallas Mavericks
Mark Cuban thought he was being smart
But then he ended up being real
dumb saying that he didn't want to pay Jaylen Brunson didn't think he was worth the investment
forced him out of Dallas which pushed him to New York you get to New York you see the New York
is rebuilding I want to bring some of my guys in what do I have to do to make that happen
because I can be more efficient and effective with guys that I know can do what I need them to do
so that I could play my best basketball okay Jay
Listen, take this money.
We're going to pay you back.
We're going to pay you back, but we need a discount,
and we need you to believe in what we're doing.
Now, I had conversations with somebody.
I got sources too, Stephen A. Smith.
And those sources told me that this is a family,
called it La Familia.
And inside that family, people believe that the things
that are going to go down, go down.
And we're going to do right by you.
based on you doing right by us and leading us to where we want to go.
And I think Jalen Brunson has done that, seeing that he has the biggest chip on his shoulder being an underdog coming from championship pedigree in college,
knowing what he can bring to an NBA team, being overlooked and being told that Luca Donchage is better than you.
Now right now in this particular juncture, Jalen Brunson is not first team all NBA, but he is second team all NBA.
But he is going to the finals, right?
Lucas been to the finals too.
So the second round pick has been exactly where the first round pick was.
And I took a pay cut to get there.
And I believed in the ownership.
I believed in the executives and Leon Rose and William Wesley
to get us the players that we need.
Kentucky, Kat.
They know Uncle West.
They know Leon.
O.G. know him.
Everybody know him.
Everybody's familiar with.
with the pedigree.
So you talk about being in New York City,
which I knew Leon and West being in New York
to take over any organization.
That being the particular organization,
it was going to turn everything on his head.
So Jalen Brunson being the actual focal point of that
and everybody doubting that a little guy like him
can take it big, him and his dad having documented proof
of them going out there and working like he got game,
you got to do it like this, son.
You got to stop being such a,
punk and toughen up.
Get your mind tough.
Because he's going to have these things are going to happen to you in the games.
And now you see Jalen Brunsch are not flinching in these type of times.
He's not scared of the moment.
Cities is tough to play.
And it's this tough city.
So you're talking about coming up big in moments like that 22 point different.
When you down, like go back and watch that run.
He made the run by himself.
I'm going to put y'all on my back.
Well, James Harden made it too.
Of course.
They was on, you know, they was dapping up after every play.
But Jalen don't care who in front of them at this point.
It's like, I got New York behind me.
He did.
And for the New Yorkers that believe in anybody, if they were to believe in anybody,
because there was a Julius Randall era, there was a Carmelo Anthony era,
a Marr-e-Stadamar era, there are all these eras that came through that was like,
we believe.
Finally, a guy under 6-2 got us there to do the impossible.
And like you said, it ain't done.
yet but just think about the New York fan base right now and we don't need it to be done yet
if we're here to go outside he's not nowhere he already can't go nowhere we here shout out mike brown
too shout out Mike brown he believed wait i didn't he get fired after the hawks went up two games to one
i thought he got fired didn't they're about to get fired wasn't he
they were trying they were playing mbaugh brown never saying mckell bridges's worst
trade in NBA history that's there was a lot going on my media be when they were on and
The motherfuckers don't want nobody to just, oh, you wrong, you're wrong.
They got to switch it up every time something switched up.
Panic.
Mike Brown, six coach to take multiple teams in the NBA finals.
Wow.
Shout out to Jalen Brunson, man.
Make sure anytime this next series, every game, Josh Hart is on that side, you on this side,
and we ain't going to have no problems.
It's going to be smooth sailing for you.
Anytime you and your roommate get in the same room together, some shit go wrong.
Make sure he in the other room, you in the other room, y'all gonna be good.
Promise.
New York fifth team in him here should win 11 plus consecutive games in a single postseason.
Let's take a look at this graphic, if we don't mind.
During the 2017 Warriors 2001 Lakers' 1999 Spurs and the 1989 Lakers, the 1989 Lakers, the last three of those teams, each won the chip.
Where does this Knicks playoff run rank all time, in your opinion, as we look at what
they're doing?
Right where they at.
I'll say right where they at.
Mm.
She's looking at some great historical runs, obviously some of the championship.
That 2001 Laker run was crazy.
I mean, 2017 Warriors, I mean, come on.
Like, as far as the Bulls not on there.
Mm.
Likewise.
Right?
What?
Hey.
I thought the Bulls would.
I do see the 2016 cabs on there.
Say they didn't win like that?
Yeah.
It's crazy.
It's crazy.
They didn't win like that.
Skip, you've been around a lot of basketball.
I have.
Allow me to push Nick's button over here for just a second.
There's a lot of them, LeBron teams on there.
So here's what Jordan did in his first breakthrough.
That's what I'm doing.
That's why they ain't up there.
So this is 1991, and he had to go through the beasts of the East,
and they were beasts because they start out and they sweep Patrick Ewing's nix
with Starks and Oakley and Mark Jackson and Mo Cheeks.
It's impressive.
Mo Cheeks and John Stark, that was tough for him.
Okay.
Well, Mo Cheeks was really good.
Patrick Hewin.
All of Fame, Patrick Hewman.
Okay.
All of Fame.
Those three was tough.
And Oakley was the ultimate badass that I was ever around.
He was a boxer.
He was a boxer.
He was a real good boxer.
All right.
Then it's Barclay's Sixers, and they dispatched them in five games.
And then they go and...
Charles Barclay.
Okay, Charles Barclay.
And then they go sweep their nemesis pistons, and it's the full-stock pistons.
It's...
It's their last year together, right?
Well, but it's still Rodman and Isaiah and Dumars and Aguire, and...
Vinnie coming off the bench and Lambier and Sally and it's the whole it's the whole show
It's the bad boys and they sweep them and the bad boys walk off and won't shake their hands
Okay, okay to get to Magic's Lakers and they weren't it wasn't cream anymore, but it was still magic's Lakers
Yeah, but to finish it off magic was doing some things
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but the point is just to get
Through the East, it was a much more impressive run than this East.
No, that's the same type of team.
Come on, man.
This East is late.
Don't say that based on what you think of them right now and not who they were back then, bro.
You're doing that shit that these niggas be doing on podcast.
Like, because you hear their name, because you hear their name.
You're like, who the fuck was back then if you was watching because you wasn't old on me watching.
They had games, bro.
You can't say that.
You can't say that.
They can play.
This is after.
It's not even that.
No, all the Hall of Famers that he just named who Mike had to go against,
they're not even going against.
The Knicks, right?
They beat the Hawks.
Jaylin Johnson's Hawk.
Right, who's over there?
That's the same thing.
Okay.
That was that would consider a play-in team and got in?
Okay.
It's not our fault.
Okay, and then you got the Sixers.
Thank you.
Yeah, yeah.
Good team.
Beat ball.
Big three.
Okay, four-oh.
And now, and now you just beat.
Piston?
No.
The two Hall of Fame.
No, no, I'm talking about the Knicks.
Just talking about the Knicks.
Okay. Two Hall of Famers.
They beat Cleveland.
Okay.
Two Hall of Famers.
First ballot.
Don't matter.
Okay.
Hall of Famers.
Hall of Famers.
Okay.
Philly.
Hall of Famers.
Yes.
How many?
I would say potentially two.
Two Hall of Fame.
If Tyrese keep going in the way he going.
And then the Hawks?
Nobody.
Okay.
So Michael Jordan, first round.
He said he went against.
Who was first round?
Moochee's Patrick.
Patrick.
Patrick Hewin.
Patrick Hewin.
Patrick Hsuhring.
So Patrick Haring.
Hall of Famer.
Greg Anthony.
Right.
Doc Rivers.
Detroit?
Then he, so it wasn't the Boston Celsius with Larry Bird and him.
He was hurt back done.
It wasn't the real, the pistons all retired after it was the old pistons.
Who was the second team, you said?
Old Pistons.
Barkley's Sixers.
The Sixers.
Who was on that team?
It wasn't Dr. Jay when Jordan couldn't win.
It wasn't that team.
Then he played the Lakers when Magic retired because he had the shit, no waffle call it.
They still out there.
No, no.
They still out there.
Kareem. Hookshot.
No, Carrillo. He played.
James Worthy played.
They all played.
They all played. What are you talking about?
All right.
All right.
Kareem wasn't.
Listen, they're going through all that
and still getting to the final.
Oh, that's because everybody was done.
Same type of thing.
They're supposed to sweep through them like the Knicks.
It's the same type of
Nick situation.
How?
John Starks Patrick Ewing.
Was the one
to two for the first round.
Charles Barkley and who was the other person on the team on Philly?
I don't even know how many the Knicks probably not even winning that many games in.
It's mostly Barclay.
It's Johnny Dawkins was the point guard.
You know, they weren't great.
But Barkley was a force.
Isaiah.
The pistons are loaded.
They were deep.
Them alone is better than the team.
Dumars, Vinnie Johnson, Isaiah Thomas,
Markly better than everybody.
John Sally, Dennis Robbman, Rick Mahorn, Bill Lambere.
Today?
Like.
Vinnie Johnson coming off the bench.
Shout out to the market.
It was a lot.
And they retired after that.
Markley better than anybody on that.
After that loss, what happened?
They were done.
Yes.
No, they wasn't.
Isaiah ended up having a career end of injury, bro.
Yeah.
That was the only reason that they didn't come back and win.
After that, they were done.
Detroit was done after that.
They were like an age.
Raised and injury.
There was like an agent's
Warriors team or something.
Yeah, it was like that.
On the way, what's the comparison, though?
What you're comparing them to?
It should be on there.
Huh?
They should be on there.
Where, though?
You think they should be like, are they ranked higher or they're coming?
I'm talking about the bulls should be on a winning streak like this with the teams they played in 91.
It should be on there at least once.
In 91, not 93.
91 of them.
I don't see the Bulls on there at all.
Bulls did go 15 and 2 during that playoff for them.
Oh, thank you.
Thank you for that.
Tie for the fifth highest winning.
They won three in a row, though.
So they have to be.
That's what I'm saying.
Why are they on them on there?
No, that's a set up.
Three in a row, you won three champions.
That shit doesn't matter.
I know, so how long, right, so how many did the Bulls win?
They had to be close.
They were 15 and two in that 91 season.
Yeah.
He just hating on Jordan.
He just hating on Jordan.
That's it.
He just hate on Jordan.
Hey, I ain't going front though.
The 99 Spurs, though.
Yeah, they was getting, they was getting,
getting it up but it was a short season that year.
It was.
Hey, you still got to get it done though.
99 spurs also 15 and 2 in the postseason during their run.
Uh-oh.
All right.
It's all right.
That was easy.
Okay.
15 and 2?
So back to this.
Nix of 1.
Think different, right?
They now have three series clinching wins by a combined 118 points this postseason
plus 271 point different.
differential this postseason, highest by any team in a single postseason before playing in the NBA
finals. There are a lot of people, like you said earlier, still think that the winner of the
Western Conference Finals is likely going to be the next NBA champion. Let's start with our
former Nick, Mr. B. Brandon Jennings. Do you agree with that sentiment or do you think the Knicks
have a legitimate shot? I mean, no, the Knicks definitely have a shot. I mean, you're there.
So, I mean, you know, we, and no game has started yet, so we don't know, but I know taking off this time is going to be a little tough for them.
They are going to be dealing with either the Spurs or the OKC, a young team that has a lot of energy.
I mean, if you're playing OKC, I mean, they've been there before.
Spurs feel like they got a lot, a lot to prove.
And, you know, they went from not making the playoffs last year to being in the Western Conference finals.
So I'll be a little worried about them.
It just depends, man.
It just depends.
But I do think the Knicks do have a chance.
I know the world is going to be cheering for the Knicks.
They got the whole city of New York behind them.
And, I mean, going into it probably will be favorite the NICs, but I don't know, man.
You think the Nix would be the favorite heading into this final?
Yeah, I mean, it's the NICS.
I mean, it's the 50 years, right, or so since they won it.
Just going in, or you already know, like, they're going to be favorites.
Oh, damn.
19703?
Yes.
Well, they're going to burn that city.
That's dope.
But yes, they have a chance, though.
I might have to take a trip, man.
I was thinking that.
Let's just go down there.
Easy work.
Do you have the plug on tickets, Mr. B?
Because ticket price is right now.
I'm going to just wear my jersey and run around.
Just run around the city.
Just run around the garden.
With the underdog, I'm like, I'm media.
Media credential.
Let me in.
NBA, usually a little disappointed when it comes to giving us.
credit interest to events.
I'm going to be like, it's me.
Look, this is my.
This is my.
This is me.
I'll play here.
Mr. B.
Meadee.
Skip, you think the Knicks should be the favorites at any of the NBA finals?
I do not.
Just for the record,
not sure how this is.
Maybe the odds makers know something I don't about Jalen Williams and A.J.
Mitchell.
But as we speak in a potential game one with the Thunder,
which would obviously be in Oklahoma City,
the Thunder would be six and a half point favorites in game one.
The Spurs, if it were in San Antonio, game one, would be four and a half point favorites over the Knicks.
Look, the Knicks are going to have to take, what is it, nine, is it nine days, eight days?
Well, they had nine days in between the second round and the start, Easter Conference Finals.
We're a little resting that game one, down 22.
They did.
Still won the game's worth of the series, so.
They did.
But isn't this break about, it's to next Wednesday, right?
so we're Tuesday now and the finals would start on Wednesday, I'm pretty sure.
So it's nine-ish days off to go from playing what will feel like a high school defense with the calves
to a big-time NBA defense with spurs or thunder.
And it's going to be a rude awakening for the next to me.
But I do not discount momentum.
I'm just not sure any team has ever had more momentum.
into a finals than this Knicks team, regardless of the competition.
Just on fire, buzz saw, we are we, you know, we're it right now.
And they're going to bring that kind of energy and supreme confidence,
clicking on all cylinders confidence like we've never seen into this.
But it's when you ask me who's going to win Cavs Nix, and I said, well, it's easy to me,
you've got the worst defensive team in the Eastern Conference playoffs against the best
offensive team that is now playing the best defense.
And we haven't even really talked that much about the Knicks defense, but it's really
good.
It is really solidly good.
And the shock to me is I kept hearing what a mastermind Tibbs was on defense.
And Mike Brown's defense is playing at a much higher level than I ever saw Tibbs defense play.
Maybe it's just the players.
But somehow they bought into what Mike Brown is selling,
and he was the Golden State defensive coordinator.
So I think he really knows defense.
I think he's a really good basketball coach who's never quite gotten the credit.
And as you said, what is it now?
Sixth total have gotten to back, I mean to two finals.
So again, it's a big step up in class.
to either Spurs or Thunder.
And I think
they should be favored, but not
by a lot. And whatever
that six and a half and four and a half would be
in game one, as we get closer
to it, the public is going to
bet those numbers way down.
So
as it stands right
now, you know, again, maybe
if miracles
happen and Jalen Williams and A.J.
come back and somehow the Spurs,
I mean, the Thunder survived the
spurs and get to a game one against the Knicks, then I definitely think they would be a little
better, but not at this moment.
I mean, as far as favorites, you would have to give the nod to the vets and the experience from the
basketball gods of understanding how to play the game in tight situations.
Like Wembe said, they hadn't been in that situation before being down two weeks.
one in the playoffs and knowing what to do and how to adjust as players without Popovich coming in
and telling them how to adjust to these moments and then having Tim Duncan and those other guys
come in and corroborate that you don't have that game for a win and I think with the actual
New York Knicks they don't need that they all look each other in the mirror and they or look themselves
in the mirror and Mike Brown also holds them accountable but they have a city that's the
on them. They have each other that's depending on each other. So when you look at who could be
a favorite based on whether it's OKC or the Spurs, it's got to be the Knicks simply because
OKC is going to be without the things that they need to actually make it a series. Because this is
not the Indiana Pacers. It's a totally different team. The Pacers don't beat the Knicks if those
certain qualities don't disappear from the situation as far as OG hamstring. But you're
But you can never, like I said before, you can't make the excuse on injury because it's always next man up.
And New York didn't get it done.
So Indiana stepped up.
They didn't get it done either.
So OKC rises to the occasion.
But now we're looking at OKC having that same problem going into this finals saying, all right, we are without our main guy just like they were.
We might go down to a team that we feel like we're better than full strength.
and now the Spurs advance.
So now the Spurs advance, you're looking at experience versus just pure adrenaline,
pure raw talent potential versus the veteran leadership
and the morale of a championship coach and a city that's just dying for some type of energy.
And you've got to be a favorite when it comes to that.
But it doesn't mean you're going to win.
I think it's going to be a great series.
And for everybody out there, it's great basketball being played.
This is great basketball being played.
Even that sweet.
It was great basketball by the team that swept the other team.
What was shown was, I'm going to punch you in the face.
No, it was I'm going to punch you in the face.
And I'm going to show you how to show you how to make them quit.
I'm going to show you how to make them fold.
And the storyline stopped.
James Harding didn't get, he didn't get to prepare his storyline.
Donovan Mitchell didn't get to propel his storyline.
Jalen Brunson gets to knock him out.
So now you talk about the next series,
it's going to be competitive regardless.
We're not going to be worrying about whether you compete in or not.
Neither one of these teams, OKC or Spurs are going to give up.
If they play the Spurs, I think they're the favorites.
Who?
The Knicks.
If they play OKC, I feel like OKC would be the favorites.
So it won't be the same thing that happened in 1999.
That's what they want, you know, so that's why Spurs get away with anything.
In the BIA want that to happen so bad.
Because why you're not going to say anything good about the Spurge?
Because it's obvious.
Like you say all the time.
Is it obvious?
You're making it obvious.
You're clearly making it.
Somebody back just stealing dumped.
Yeah, it's great.
Not to take a trip back down memory lane, but one more thing we have to address here.
So after the next one, the NBA Cup Championship, unfortunate incident captured.
during their celebration.
Let's run it just as a reminder
of times from yesterday year.
You see Jaylen Brett
is celebrating Josh Hart.
Look at the look.
Why are you flintzing?
Because, bro. He was like, bro,
quit playing, bro.
He said.
The thumb of the tour.
Imagine him not flinching.
What do you mean?
Don't talk about Josh Hart.
Thumb up the turn.
Oh, I wasn't supposed to do that right now.
My bad.
You see, I said.
Oh, shit.
You caught me?
The reaction was swift and caused some, including our very own cemetery larry to jump off the Knicks bandwagon.
Brunson wasn't about to let it happen again while getting his Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy.
Let's take a look.
At that moment.
Jaylon, come over for me.
No, no.
No thumbs in the two-dee.
So Brunson made sure that Hart wasn't in his vicinity.
You weren't even three years old.
To avoid another thumb up the to the Tudy situation.
Sean, seeing Jalen Brunson preemptive strike, move Josh Hart out the way.
Has that changed your opinion of these Knicks, perhaps brought you back.
Yes.
On to that, okay.
They didn't have any Nix jerseys prepared for me yet, so I had to wear my spurs.
But it just let me know Jaylen Brunson wasn't really, he didn't have nothing to do with the first encounter.
He was not a willing participant.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you know what?
You move.
You move.
You move.
I'm not having that.
You know, my girl, my wife, my wife, I don't know if he's married or not, but, you know,
That's cause a divorce for real.
I'm looking at you different.
So, yeah, watch out.
And it brings all the other fans back around, too.
We don't like the weird shit.
Weird shit is weird.
We don't like the weird shit.
So what was your take on the first incident?
It's just weird.
I was just like, I was glad we won.
But once that happened,
I'm going to stick with the spurs until we get down the line.
I figure it out.
There's just too much shit going on.
Skip, how did you feel about?
that again been around a lot of basketball not sure how many times you've seen a
teammate tried a thumb another one of their shoes I don't know how many times
seen that's cup oh no don't know if that's I've never seen that that was my hope
yes and and yet I did I actually loved it that they made a big deal yeah to just blow
out, you know, where you just say, I'm out of here. And Josh Hart walked all the way across
camera, you know, through the shot. I'm out of here. And Jalen had moved him over. And so
I think it's cool, right? I mean, you trust the Knicks now, internally? I don't trust
Josh Hart. Okay. I don't trust Josh Hart. But I trust the Knicks. But you can't do it two times
in a row.
Who can't do it two times in a row?
You can't do that two times a row.
Shit.
Something wrong with his thumb right now.
He's been doing it.
He's all hurting shit.
The season was going to go down here after that.
Cat was like, I don't even know my role now.
Oh shit.
Hold on.
Mike Brown was like, hold up.
I got a roll for you.
Hold on.
I got a roll for you.
This is my turn.
Dish and dash.
They're back in order.
The thumb is for cat.
Cat said, whoa, we're doing rolls like that, huh?
Mm-mm.
That's cat.
I don't know my.
Shout out to cat though, man.
That's cat time, man.
And be out here coming around, man.
Nix, back in the NBA finals,
we'll have another extended break
as they wait for the winner of the Thunder Spurs
playoffs series. So speaking of that,
let's wrap up today with our playoff picks
powered by Underdog Spudition Markets.
Let's take a look at the updated standings.
Spragan, you were in China.
Wow.
Joe Kevin to point.
Why are you wowing?
Because I was sending my picks in.
You don't never win.
You don't never win.
The people's,
The People's Republic denied your Wi-Fi and your attempts to reach the main.
You got to use the VPN when you're over there, bro.
VPN.
Six and six.
She-she-ne.
She-she-Ne.
Michael, six and six.
John, still in first place.
Still in first place.
Wow.
Move him up.
So you didn't put all your picks in?
Yeah.
Yeah, well, I got OKC tonight.
So let me get to that.
Mr.
Be, critical game five tonight in the West.
Banged up Thunder Squad, returned home with the series tied 2-2.
Okay, C, still the favorites at home tonight with a 60%.
Chance to win, 40% chance to win for the Spurs.
So let's start with you, Dr. McKinz.
That was easy.
Spurs, I'm imagining?
Of course.
All right, Mr. B, you say.
O KC, man.
Back at home.
Brandon should be number one, though.
How?
No, my losses.
How?
Well, he got more bets in, though.
You got more bets in?
Yeah.
Your both got 41 wins.
He's sent more bets in.
Yeah, for sure.
So he got more chances to lose.
If that's the, yeah.
If you're going to buy wins and loss,
I should be won in shit.
I got the less losses than everybody.
He got the more bets in.
He did.
You're just, all right, McCanns.
You know when not to bet and winning when you won a bet.
I bet every time.
So why you're 41 and 28?
They weren't bad every time.
And he's 41 and 37.
Because I don't lose.
You're picking and choosing.
That's crazy.
I don't be losing.
I be winning.
I be winning.
Speaking of picking and choosing.
I see Brandon Betts in every time.
He takes it.
And y'all L.A. niggins together. I expected.
That's kept right here.
You ever watch the wood?
I'm from North Carolina.
I'm from North Carolina.
Well, go grab a wood.
From North Carolina.
Go grab a wood.
You guys back.
You try to put me on a mission and it fell.
It, it, it backfired.
The girl is mine now.
The girl y'all won it is not mine now.
North Carolina.
I got it.
I got it.
I'm going to beat a brother up too.
I'm going to beat a brother up too.
Remember when I was telling you.
You're going to you about Bloods and Crifts?
That niggas are from North Carolina, man.
I'm supposed to be out here
thugging with y'all anyway.
Y'all ain't supposed to.
He said, I think she pretty.
I think she pretty.
Man, he's stick to hell.
Now, where are you from?
Let's shift over to this outside.
Skip, we're taking in game five tonight.
The doctor just picked the thunder to win game six in San Antonio.
Just for the record, he just did that.
I said Spurs.
Because he's got Spurs and seven.
So he picked Spurs tonight.
So now the Thunder, to make you correct,
they're going to have to win game six on Thursday night in San Antonio, correct?
I just wanted that on the record.
It's definitely on the record.
But understand what the record also states.
If we win tonight and we win six, we go to the finals.
So I may lose my seven, game seven.
but I still win going to the finals.
You got a double down on the small area.
No, no. It's either no.
It's either you're going to get it done in six or seven.
The two teams are going to be in the finals.
I predict it were going to be San Antonio in the Knicks.
So regardless, if they win tonight, tomorrow, I'm too smart.
The smartest man in the world often feels dumb because no one relates to him.
So I don't expect you to understand the math.
You should have taken spurs in six?
No?
I want to take it to seven because I want to.
I want you to have a chance.
All right.
I want to give you a chance, Skip!
Okay, so in tonight's Pivotal Game 5, I am picking strictly with my heart and I'm picking
the thunder.
Not my head, my heart, I'm picking the thunder.
I'm going OKC today.
And if I don't get my bed in on Thursday, I'm going OKC Thursday.
Listen, OKC today.
So where did it go seven?
So what if I don't get my bed in, I'm going OKC Thursday.
So what about that?
What about game seven?
It ain't going seven, bro.
It ain't going seven?
They ain't going seven.
You say they're going to go two in a row?
J. Dub is back.
Ro, J. Dub is back.
Two in a row?
Jay Dub is back.
Gonna be playing carefree without AJ.
AJ was in his way.
AJ kept trying to be like the man still, so.
Really?
He come back from China with the flop song.
I hope you know something.
I don't know.
He'll leave.
I'm coming with the karate fit tomorrow.
Today, kids had a little, you know,
had a little show in the school.
I didn't want to be.
Chung, Lung Lee.
First of all, that name,
first of all, the nigg
never went to China. He went to Korea
town and he was just fucking
around in Korea town. He never went
to China, bro. He was just
filming with a bunch of Asians.
You went to Santa Monica
with a bunch of Asians. It was like
downtown. A Yangtiao.
That's what you're going to.
See you and J.C. That was what it was.
You and J.C. that hooked up with
the other guy. The only thing they got out there
in China that's American-
American-I Chinese food is compound chicken.
Everything else. You can't get
Nothing else else.
Ain't no orange chicken.
No such thing is orange chicken.
Beef and rotten.
Yeah.
Beef and broccoli.
Yeah, no.
And they be, and they get them.
You got to eat a hot pot too.
You want rice?
Hot pot fire.
It's good, but they put too much stuff.
Did you get some mooshu?
I got a good hot pot spot out here in that way.
Did you get some moot shoe?
Oh, you even got no mooseu.
You missed the whole point of going to goddamn time, well.
No, I don't do that.
You still that moos too.
Shout out to Ling, Ling.
Shout out to everybody in the chat.
Shout out to everybody on this couch.
We will see what happens
tonight in the day five of the Western Conference Finals.
This has been another episode of Gills Arena
presented by Underdog.
Whoa, whoa!
We will see y'all tomorrow.
